I have you || Chapter 2 || 18+ ||

Warnings: 18+ minors DNI, smut, romantic smut
Chapter One | Masterlist | Chapter Three |
Tumblr media
Days passed and slowly, Loki was settling into his place on the Hliðskjálf in Odin’s place. He had talked with the dwarves of Nidavellir and, though begrudgingly, they had agreed to assist Asgard in a war against Jötunheim if it came to that.
On a peaceful Friday morning, Loki was sitting on his balcony overlooking all of Asgard and when he looked down over the railing, he saw that many houses and grand buildings no longer held Odin’s sigil, they held his. The symbol of Loki. A farce. He was not an Odinson, not a legitimate King but they didn’t know that. They only knew him as Loki Odinson and that is how it shall stay until Thor returns and Loki can step down from the throne.
Joining him at his side, you looked over the golden city with a happy smile on your face. You held Loki’s hand and rested your head on his shoulder. “We have news from Lady Eir,” you whispered, frowning when Loki tensed up with anticipation, “Odin seems to be slipping into a normal Odinsleep now. He should still remain asleep for at least a decade, but Frigga has every faith that you can hold the fort until the King does wake up.”
“And what of Thor?” Loki asked, “has Serenity spoken to you about anything different with my brother?”
“He’s…managing.” you replied and Loki scowled, knowing how Thor could possibly be reacting to becoming a simple mortal now, “he has made a few allies, Erik Selvig, Darcy Lewis and Doctor Jane Foster. He seems to be taking a liking to the doctor, but she does not appreciate how ill-mannered he is.”
Loki snorted and looked to the blue of the sky with a smirk, “no, Thor has never been one for politeness on Midgard. When we went down in the 18th Century, we barely made it out alive.”
“That is the problem with Thor, he doesn’t learn other world’s customs. He only assumes they are the same as Asgard’s and is really cocky when he is corrected, that is probably why Odin sent him down there, to teach him manners.” As you were speaking, Loki observed his soulmate’s face and grinned, he had never been agreed with before. You were the first one in millennia that saw him for him and that also agreed with how he saw Thor, it was overwhelming sometimes.
Loki led you down to the private gardens reserved only for Queen Frigga and Loki; it had not been used in ages since Queen Frigga had been planning Thor’s coronation and then had been by Odin’s side after he fell into the Odinsleep. Sitting down in the long grass, Loki admired his soulmate and how beautiful you had become over the last century. You had grown into yourself, had become more powerful and much more knowledgeable about the world around you. You were a bright girl and challenged Loki in everything he knew from magic to simple tasks such as riding a horse.
As you sat down, Loki helped you by gently holding your hand and smiling at you and when you were comfortable, he conjured up a picnic blanket and basket, snorting when you slapped him on the arm, “you couldn’t have conjured that blanket up before?!”
With a shrug, Loki opened the picnic basket and started to eat a sandwich while watching you, “I wanted a reaction and I got it.” He finished his sandwich and barely swallowed it when you growled and pushed him down onto the blanket, holding his tunic in your hand.
“You really are a trickster, my King, why do I trust you so?” you whispered and Loki chuckled before leaning up and his hand found your cheek.
“Because you are mine as I am yours, I’d never lie to you, sweet girl,” Loki mumbled, staring deep into your eyes and he noted with a fond look that they seemed to glow with love and pride when he announced his love to you.
You hummed and quickly leaned down, kissing him deeply, feeling him groan and kiss back as you grinned into the kiss, cupping his cheek and pushing yourself against him.
You gasped as he pulled back to nip at your ear, his hands tenderly brushing down your sides as he rolled his hips against yours, his soft pants blowing against your face as you took him in with a bright smile. He already looked so much better like this, so free from his duties as he kissed you and lifted your clothes from your body.
You moaned as your dress was thrown to some forgotten spot, his lips coming in contact with the softness of your breasts, kissing and suckling on your nipples, enjoying the sight of you writhing and moaning beneath him. The God bit your nipple gently, earning a desperate moan from your mouth as he smirked.
"You look so stunning, my love," he whispered, admiration clear in his tone as he stared down at your body on the picnic blanket, "the only snack I could possibly need."
You smirked and spread your legs, your arms reaching up and folding beneath your head as you displayed yourself for him, "so, explore me, my King."
"Oh, darling," he growled, pressing open-mouthed kisses to your skin with a grin on his face that set a fire roaring in your core, "I intend to."
You released a surprised cry when Loki's mouth descended on your aching cunt and you groaned as you held his slicked-back hair, your head pressing into the blanket as you moaned, your eyebrows scrunched in the perfect portrait of pleasure. Loki watched your reactions with a grin before focusing on your clit and bringing you pleasure. He flicked your clit with his tongue as two of his fingers slipped into your awaiting heat and he chuckled when you hissed and your back arched.
Your King knew his way around you, knew just how to make you cum with such grace.
Electric rose through your body and your eyes rolled as you hummed with pleasure, your fingers tightening in his hair as you rode his face through your orgasm. Smiling shyly at him, you rested against the mattress and sighed happily.
"I missed you," you whispered and Loki smiled as he pulled away from your sensitive cunt to press a kiss to your lips. You moaned at the taste of your cunt on his tongue as he kissed you and you pushed your hips against his with a whine.
Laughing, Loki knew what you wanted and he finally threw away his pants to show you his straining cock and your mouth watered at the sight. Meeting your eyes, the God raised an eyebrow with a small smile of concern, "are you sure that you want this? We could always stop, darling."
You shook your head quickly and reached up to cup his cheek, "no, Loki, I want you. I want you so bad. You ruined me for all men!"
Loki smirked at that and lined his cock up with your entrance before slowly pushing in and moaning at the feeling of your tight cunt gripping him tightly. "Oh Norns, you feel amazing," Loki whispered, his head dropping into the crook of your neck as he bottomed out and he bit into your neck as he started to thrust shallowly into you.
Keenly, you wrapped your legs around his hips and released a deep moan as you felt him sink deeper into you. Holding him close to you, you felt him start to thrust harder into you and you moaned as your fingers found his blonde curls again, "Loki! Oh, L-Loki!"
Smirking, Loki continued to make love to you and he pulled away from your neck to sit up on his knees. He pulled one of your legs up to wrap over his shoulder and you screamed with pleasure as he increased the pace of his thrusts. He wanted nothing more than to fuck you forever, no memory of the throne, no memory of his responsibility, just you and him forever combined in the dramatic throes of pleasure.
You moaned loudly, your hand rising up to cup your mouth but the God swatted it away before you could even think.
Loki leaned over you as he felt his release getting near, his brows rising as he chased his pleasure, his thrusts becoming harder and more calculated as he repeatedly struck the spot inside you that brought you to the stars and he watched as you screamed and fell apart on his cock, his orgasm hitting him only seconds later.
"Norns, pet," the God sighed, cupping your cheek and smiling at you, "I love you."
You smiled tiredly and kissed his cheek before whispering, "I love you too, Loki."
After a while, you sat back up and took out a bottle of wine, pouring it into two glasses, “it’s been matured for 10 years, the finest of Alfheim according to their Princess.”
“I wouldn’t expect anything less of Alfheim, to be fair, they always come out with the best of everything and I always find myself so impressed,” Loki hummed, leaning into the blanket as you laid your head on his chest and used your seiðr to be able to drink on a side without the wine spilling.
The two spent hours in the garden together before a guard came over to Loki and informed him of Thor’s imprisonment by S.H.I.E.L.D and Loki almost raged. How dare they lock away his brother! But then he stopped and realised that he could visit him, no one else could but him so he did. He stood in front of the Hliðskjálf and projected himself to the S.H.I.E.L.D base around Mjolnir and watched as the man left Thor alone and only then, did he become visible.
“Thor,” Loki spoke first, watching Thor’s head snap up immediately and he almost smiled at him before realising his mission.
“Loki,” Thor greeted, recognition gleaming in his eyes as he looked at his brother with slight relief, “what are you doing here? Is something happening on Asgard? Is mother alright”
“Mother is well, brother, but father is not. He has fallen into the Odinsleep and mother fears he will ne’er wake again. Lady Eir is trying her best but he has been holding this off for so long that…” Loki trailed off, knowing that Thor got the memo.
“And has mother taken his place?” Thor questioned even though he knew the answer already.
Loki sighed and walked closer to Thor, conjuring a wet cloth to wipe away the blood and grime from his elder brother’s face, “the burden of the throne has fallen on my shoulders, Thor, it was very last second and not many agree I deserve it but I am trying. I am trying to rule as father does, but Lady Sif and the Warriors do not trust.”
“That’s absurd, Loki, they are your friends, they trust you!” Thor shot back quickly, and Loki flinched, hoping Thor didn’t see but he knew that he did.
“They were never my friends, Thor, they only stayed around me because I was your brother. If you had gone away, they would’ve gone with you and not stayed with me. That’s how it’s been for millennia,” Loki replied quietly and observed his brother, finishing his task of cleaning the wounds and mud.
Thor gave pause and analysed every interaction between Loki and his friends, and he realised that they had really only tolerated him because of Thor. Thor shook his head and got on his knees before Loki and wrapped his arms around him, hiding his face in his neck and heaving out a sob, “forgive me, lillebroren min. I have been a terrible brother and I could never atone for it! For what it’s worth… you’d be a great King, Loki, better than me by far.”
“Do not say such things, Thor, you are to be crowned and not me. You prepared all your life and I only learnt diplomacy through books,” Loki mumbled, still shocked from the contact of the hug and he fought back tears.
Thor chuckled sadly and shook his head, embracing Loki tighter and sniffling, “no, Loki, I never listened in my lessons with father. The only lessons I listened to were the ways to use Mjolnir and how to use the Bifrost, anything else was lost to me. You would be a much better King, Loki.”
“You cannot come home, Thor. No matter your sugar-coating, your banishment will keep the peace between Laufey and Asgard long enough for us to come to an agreement.” Loki mumbled, thinking that that is the only reason why Thor is now considering him as his little brother after three centuries of feeling detached from that connection.
“Then please forgive me for my actions, brother, you have saved me from a dark spot more than once and I have disregarded you time after time,” Thor mumbled and Loki froze, not knowing how to process his words, “please do not self-destruct when I am here. I will come home, and you will be my equal, when I am worthy.”
Loki chuckled softly and kissed his forehead before getting up and heading to the other end of the interrogation room, “I shall send General Tyr to collect you if things should go south.”
“Dear brother, I will always respect you. Sister, brother, neither, you are Loki, my sibling.”
Loki nodded and waved goodbye to his brother before he disappeared and reappeared outside beside Mjolnir, it hummed and he reached out a hand to grasp the handle so when he did so and tugged, he wasn’t surprised to find that the hammer would not be lifted by him. Of course, Odin hated him with a passion. A Jötun could never wield Mjolnir, not even the false Prince of Asgard.
Sighing, Loki reappeared in the throne room and you looked up from your book on Hliðskjálf, smiling at him before realising he was crying and you rushed over to him, “dear Prince, what happened on your visit to Thor? Did he threaten you? Must I go down to Earth and split his skull?”
Loki laughed breathily and held his soulmate close to him, running his fingers through your hair, “’twas not my brother's fault I’m crying, he just made me so very happy. He still accepts me after all these years of him wanting me to know my place. ‘twas just an adjustment, that’s all.”
You laughed softly and tenderly held his cheek, pulling his face down so you could see into his eyes, “even after all these years, you still fascinate me. With your magic, with your being, it’s incredible! You’re king and yet you took the time to visit your brother even if it meant facing Odin’s wrath!”
Loki chuckled and held his soulmate close to him as he gazed down into your eyes with such adoration that you were sure that he would drop dead before ever seeing them brimming with pain or heartbreak. You knew deep down that the person Loki seemed to be to everyone else was merely a shield so that none could see the sensitive boy underneath.
“Odin has no claim of what I do, darling, he is in Odinsleep and I am King. Not only that but I am also not his son. Lest you forget that little fact,” Loki hummed as he swayed his beloved and enjoyed the ambiance of the fire crackling in the torches around the room.
You sighed and looked up at Loki, holding his chin to bring him down so he can look at you properly rather than staring at your hair, “yes, your real father is King Laufey of Jötunheim but what of it? Jötunheim was once a contestant for beauty with Asgard. Come, I shall show you.” With that, you led Loki out of the doors to the throne room and through a quick trip with the Bifrost, guided him into your private study in your castle, “mother gave me access to all these documents after her death. All of the history is within these tombs.”
Glancing around the room, Loki was thrilled to finally have new things to learn and when he walked over to a bookcase and opened one of the seemingly new tombs, he found the language inside to be written in Ancient Moonish. His mother had taught him the language with Thor but neither of the boys had truly listened to the old language, “the tales of Yvelda and Nine. What an absurd name for a book. What is it about, my darling?”
Giggling, you stepped up and pointed to a portrait of a woman dressed in a simple gown with an emerald ring on her finger staring them down from her place above the bookshelf, “that is our great-great-grandmother Yvelda. She was Queen of the Moon while Jötunheim was still a prospering society. She wrote this book to celebrate the life of the Nine after a threat to the Yggdrasil was vanquished. She wrote about all of the Nine in a lot of detail but her chapters on Jötunheim and Asgard are by far the longest. Her studies of the two realms consumed most of her time and once our great-grandmother Serina was born, she set about making her second journal. She adapted the Moonish language into that of a language similar to Alfheim.”
Loki listened attentively and nodded his understanding before chuckling, “you have a grand history, my love.”
“It is not the reason I brought you here, the history of Jötunheim is hidden in these books as well. Laufey’s father entrusted Serina with many of their tombs to keep them safe.” you explained and for once, Loki felt admiration for a Jötun. He had not once considered such a thing but now that he saw it, he felt compelled to read every single thing in this room.
Once safely back on Asgard, Loki sighed and sat back in his chambers and thought everything over. Had he been too quick to judge Laufey and his troops? Did Laufey miss his child? Would Laufey want him back when he realised who he was? Would Laufey call out treachery and have Loki executed for betraying Jötnar customs? Loki was terrified. Why couldn’t things be simple?
Another few days passed and after a rather trying talk with Lady Sif and the Warriors Three about rescuing Thor, Loki slumped down onto her bed and cuddled up to her lover. She was fed up with all this trouble, she didn’t want to be King anymore. It took too much time away from you and your perfection, your love, how could Loki live without it?
She knew that the Warriors intended to betray her and honestly? She expected it. She just didn’t know if they would try to twist the truth so Thor would be on their side and not Loki’s. After her talk with Thor, Loki felt much more accepted and loved than she had felt since he became self-aware many centuries ago. She had once had a time where she was presenting as a female and Odin had cut off her long hair and burned it in her fireplace to keep her aware that she was always meant to be Loki prince of Asgard. Never Princess. Always Prince. Thor had accepted her, even then, changing his pronouns constantly by even looking at Loki for even a brief moment.
Thor’s banishment had changed a lot for the young princess, now that she thought of it. She had instantly taken his place as first in line for the throne and perhaps twenty minutes later, she found out that she was Jötun and after that, Odin had sunken into the deepest Odinsleep so now she was King. Queen Loki Odindottir. It sounded perfect, a name she had always told herself would happen one day. Either for her on Asgard or side by side with her beloved on the Moon. Still, one day she believed herself worthy to sit on a throne. Now, Princess Loki Laufeydottir? Out of the question. She would not accept such a horrendous name. She was not Jötnar, she was Aesir and she would be Queen. She had to be.
“I said this once before, Loki, do not let those thoughts consume you,” Loki flinched in surprise and when she turned, she saw you standing at the foot of the bed with a frown on your face, “your thoughts are dangerous when left to fester.”
Loki chuckled and rested her head on her arms, gazing up at her beloved from the angle on the bed, “hello to you too, beloved.”
You sighed and sat on the bed beside Loki, taking one of her hands and kissing the black nails there, “tell me what you think so deeply of, my love, share your pain with me.”
And so, Loki spoke. She spoke of her troubles, her fears, her insecurities and expressed her concern for Thor on Midgard. She told you everything that had happened on Jötunheim with such detail, you might as well have been there.
The night consisted of tears, hugs and many reassuring hugs between the both of them as they reconnected after so long of Loki filling herself with her hatred and remorse. She did not know why she had bottled this all up, but you were there for her anyway. You did not mind.
That night, Loki guided you into the bedroom and laid you down on the blankets, watching as your eyes flooded with love and understanding. You smiled as Loki cradled your cheek and pressed a gentle kiss to your lips, her body pressing against your own as you both sighed happily at the contact.
"Let me show you just how well I can pleasure you," Loki whispered, nipping at your ear and pulling away with a satisfied smirk.
You nodded eagerly and in the next moment, her deft fingers slid into your awaiting heat and curled just right to hit that good spot inside you that her cock constantly found. You swore and rolled your head back in bliss, unable to fight against the demands of your body.
Loki mouthed at your nipple as her thumb connected to your clit and began circling it in calculated motions that brought you the utmost pleasure. As the Queen of Asgard continued to smother you, you felt as if you were floating, your legs wrapped around her hourglass waist and your eyes bravely attempting to keep contact with her own beautiful emerald eyes.
You reached forward and cupped Loki's breast, squeezing gently and smiling as she gasped. The woman had long since ceased producing milk after the loss of her son but you remembered the days when you would sit, fascinated by the art of breastfeeding though you loathed to admit it.
The electric pulse that shot through you took you by surprise and you stared at your Queen in shock, a loud moan escaping your mouth as you rolled your head back. "Loki," you sighed peacefully, rolling your hips so that her fingers would cause more friction inside you, "let me cum."
Loki hummed and leaned down to kiss you, the pace of her thrusting fingers increasing and her magic providing you with another electric pulse, bringing you closer to your orgasm. "Let me see you cum," she commanded, her lips ghosting against the skin of your cheek, "I need to see you fall apart for your Queen."
You moaned loudly as your orgasm hit. You swore to the Norns that you were ruined, that Loki could never be replaced. You never wanted anyone else but Loki, your sweet, handsome, protective Loki!
Panting heavily, you pulled Loki down into a gentle kiss and whined as her fingers pulled out of you. Loki shushed you gently, turning you onto your side and cuddling you as she whispered sweet nothings to you until the Realm of sleep took you back.
In the afternoon of the next day, Loki stood on the balcony and watched as the Bifrost was opened despite his clear demand to Heimdall and he turned on his heel and stormed down to the vaults, Gungnir tight in his grasp, his cloak billowing out behind him and he nodded at all those who stopped to bow and show appreciation. He was a force to be reckoned with when he was angry. Many knew that.
Walking down the hall of the vault, Loki forced himself not to think of the horror that had occurred here between Odin and himself. He stood before the pedestal that once held the Casket and banged Gungnir on the floor. The sound echoed around the room and then, the barrier at the back opened up to reveal the Destroyer. When the monster stood forward, he glared up at it and smirked, “see to it that the Warriors Four do not make it back. Do not harm Prince Thor.”
With a nod, the Destroyer disappeared, Loki felt weak. Although he had given the direct order, he was petrified that the destroyer would in some way harm Thor while doing its duty.
Loki now shook his head and walked away from the chamber, heading up to the meeting floor. Marching inside, the participants instantly shut up and turned to face their King. Sitting at the head of the table, Loki allowed to give off an air of relaxation to keep peace between his council.
“How does Jötunheim fare?” Loki asked after moments of silence, irritation clear in his voice. He worried about Laufey, he was a calculating man, he might figure out his secret and then he would have no leverage.
“They are… how do you say? Calculating?” Vor replied and Loki nodded, pressing on the God of Wisdom. “My King, they seem to be arranging for the return of a lost Prince. They talk of Loptr, their infant heir that was supposed to die. Laufey is very stressed as he plans.”
Loki nodded in understanding and looked over to General Tyr with a raised eyebrow, “how fares the army?”
Tyr looked over to Loki and placed his hand over his heart as he gazed down at the table beneath Loki’s painted fingers, “The armies are ready on your command, my King, should Laufey invade or make an attempt on your life, the Einherjar will be there to save you.”
Loki nodded and then turned to Lord Magni, God of Strength and for him, he produced a golden sword and held it out. Lord Magni took the blade effortlessly and looked at Loki in confusion and the young King only spoke, “you shall need it, leading the charge.”
“And what of Prince Thor, King Loki?” A voice from down the table and when heads turned, Loki gazed down at Serenity. Her hair was pulled back into braids that broke away into a high ponytail, her dress was a simple gold with white stars expertly placed around the gown. She looked like the picture of a Goddess.
“Goddess of Earth. We are glad that you visit our table this day,” Loki greeted and stood to bow to his friend. He had known Serenity as long as he had known you and he was glad to call her a friend. Again, he met her eyes and smiled, “Prince Thor is in your care still, my lady, he shall not be allowed back until the terms of his banishment have been met.”
Serenity nodded and out of her hands came an illusion of Thor with two women and an older-looking fellow, “the Prince has made friends, he settles quite quickly into Midgardian life. He is in pain, though, and he wishes to be home. He has not been away from you this long before, my King. He suffers.”
Loki nodded in understanding and held back his tears as he looked at the illusion before wafting it away and looking at Serenity, “you are Queen and protector of Midgard and those that live there. I know you shall protect my brother for King Odin’s sake and his own. Please, he is still my brother.”
Serenity nodded and lent back in her seat, satisfied. Loki sighed in relief and returned to the meeting.
Hours later, the meeting ended on notes of War and moves against Laufey and his Jötnar. Loki was about to head up to bed when a gentle hand took his shoulder and when he turned, he saw Serenity smiling up at him, “To what do I owe the pleasure of this, my Queen?”
“I wish to walk with the King of Asgard for a while, ‘tis all.” Serenity smiled and Loki nodded, offering her his arm before walking down the golden halls with her. They passed a portrait of Loki with her and you and when Serenity stopped, Loki did too. “Do you remember this?”
“I do,” Loki replied, looking up at your happy smile and he found himself smiling back, “it was the day that I came back from one of my trips to Vanaheim. Y/N had missed me so much and she demanded she had a memorial of me when I disappeared. We had this done in her honour. My dear girl.”
Serenity watched Loki with a careful glare, her brow raised curiously before she pointed a dagger at his throat and she smirked when Loki didn’t even gulp, “you hurt her and I kill you, Odinson. There won’t be a realm outside or on the Yggdrasil that you can hide. She is my everything. Hurt her and I kill you, I promise.”
“Please do. If I betray her, you may kill me.” Loki smiled at Serenity and shook his head fondly before kissing her forehead and stepping away from the dagger, "god natt, lillesøster.”
Serenity watched him walk away and sighed deeply, she saw the tensions in his eyes just as you did. She saw just how much pain he was in even when trying to joke it off. She loved Loki as a brother, saw him go through the same things as you did. She protected his son for him, even though he had no idea. She would do it again and again. You were happy with him and Serenity wanted that happiness to last so she would keep protecting them. She just needed to make sure Odin didn’t interrupt this time.
That night was difficult for Loki; plagued with nightmares and knowing she couldn’t sleep any longer, she got up and changed into a nightdress, heading into her private library just down the corridor. When she walked in, she saw Frigga sat there with a book in her hand and Loki froze in place for a moment before speaking up, “mother?”
“My daughter, you came.” Frigga mumbled, holding her hand out for Loki to take and when he did, she pulled her down into a hug and cherished this moment with her.
“Mother, why are you here so late at night? Why are you away from Odin?” Loki asked, sitting beside her mother and frowning.
Frigga heaved a sigh and held Loki’s hand tight in her grip, “I think you should visit Jötunheim.”
Silence. Ringing silence. No one said anything for a long while. Loki stared at Frigga in surprise before schooling her features and glaring. “Why?”
“Because you are Laufey’s child…” Frigga mumbled and her thumb stroked over Loki’s silky hands gently, “because I know that deep down, Laufey misses his first born so much. You know it too.”
“I am King, mother. I cannot simply just up and leave to Jötunheim at full haste.” Loki snapped and Frigga nodded with understanding before Loki sighed, “when father wakes and is ready to take Hliðskjálf back, I shall take Y/N and we shall venture into Jötunheim.”
Frigga nodded again and pulled Loki into a tight hug, kissing her hair and running her nails through the long ebony locks, “you’ve grown from this, Loki. You’re no longer the shadow. When people talk of you, they will talk of how you saved Asgard from war and how you helped many.”
Loki laughed blankly and shook her head, “I helped no one, mother. Why would a Jotun help anyone?”
Frigga shushed her and laid down in the sofa with Loki on top of her, stroking her hands down her back, “You are our son, Loki, you helped me live. Odin too. You saved Thor so many times. You aren’t the villain you say you are.”
The comfort that Loki felt in those words only lasted a few hours for when he was sat atop Hliðskjálf early that morning, he connected with the Destroyer long enough to see a fight commence between the Warriors and it. Loki panicked and looked around for Thor but found that he wasn’t around and so he assisted the Destroyer in trying to take down the Warriors but in the process, he sent cars flying and indirectly revealed Thor’s hiding place.
“LOKI!” called a voice from Midgard that Loki heard through the Destroyer, “Brother I know you can hear this. I do not know what I did to wrong you after our talk, but this has to stop. You must let us all come home. I’m truly sorry for what happened.”
Loki listened to his brother and turned to walk the Destroyer away but in doing so, unwillingly gave up control and the Destroyer stopped and turned back, hitting Thor across the little town and the throne room rattled at Loki’s scream of horror when he saw Thor collide with the ground.
Loki turned again, dragging his feet to sit upon Hliðskjálf. He’d hit Thor. Sent him flying. He was surely dead. He ordered the Destroyer to come back and that’s when it happened. Through the Destroyer, he felt rumbling and then a lightning flash. Thor was alive. He was restored. Loki cried with joy and cut the connection with the destroyer to walk down to Odin’s rooms.
Arriving there, Loki held his mother and smiled into her neck, “Thor is coming home, mother! He’s home!”
As Loki and Frigga expressed their relief, they laughed and thanked the Gods for saving Thor. For getting him back. It was a miracle.
Loki heard the doors to the chambers open and he turned to greet his brother but all he saw in the blue eyes were hatred and confusion. Did Thor think he did that purposefully?
“Loki tell mother. Tell mother how you tried to kill me just now.” Thor growled and Loki’s heart sank.
He was alone in his mind now; Thor didn’t trust him. Who would?  Dark King, after all.

Jealous? Who? Me?
Summary: Loki has some very conflicting feelings towards you.
Dedicated to my good pal @karuna11 for always being a good friend ✨
Loki wasn’t jealous of a mortal? Or at least that’s what he kept telling him whenever you were around.
Loki remembered when he had first joined the team, it had been on probation and with a promise that Thor would keep his eye out for him
As if he needed babysitting
He remembered seeing you for the first time since he joined the compound he had avoided everyone for weeks - you were in the middle of a conversation with Thor, Bruce and Natasha you were laughing and glowing like an actual ray sunshine. Everyone seemed drawn to you like a moth to a flame. Loki hadn’t bothered introducing himself. He remembered how he rolled his eyes and went on his way to the kitchen to make himself a cup of tea.
He remembered how he had felt a pang if something in his chest. Something he couldn’t quite put his finger on.
Loki was in the middle of reading his favourite book on the couch and he was just about to get to the good part when
‘THOR’ You exclaimed excitedly when you ran into the room and towards Thor
‘Y/N’ Thor exclaimed just as loudly as you had which made Loki roll his eyes at both of you.
What a bunch of oafs Loki thought
Loki ignored the conversation as much as he could. But he couldn’t help but watch you. You were bouncing up and down the whole time you were talking to Thor and Thor was grinning like an oaf.
You were putting your hair behind your ear and smiling from ear to ear and touching Thor’s elbow affectionately.
This went on for ages. You were ranting and bouncing happily next to Thor who downright seemed like he adored you. It frankly made Loki feel sick.
You were acting quite playful with him too. It was all way too intimate for Loki’s liking.
Loki eventually got up and left the room and No one paid Him any attention.
Getting people to smile seemed like something that came so fucking easily to you. The more Loki watched you the more annoyed he became.
Loki had trouble playing placing the feeling he felt when he Saw you. Hatred was too strong a word. Loathing wasn’t the right Word either.
Annoyance perharps?
The Avengers were out in the club dancing and you were moving your body on the Dance floor, dancing with everyone except Loki. Loki was here against his will just sitting in the corner watching his team members dancing. Thor had already asked Him to join the others on the Dance floor.
Loki watched as everyone gathered around you naturally and took turns dancing with you. The Way everyones eyes lit up as they were dancing next to you. How easily you Got Them to smile and laugh.
You moved so freely as if you had no troubles or traumas like nothing evil could get you.
Everyone just loved you. It made Loki sick. Just How easy it was for you and How likeable you were and you didn’t even have to try, it just came naturally to you.
Loki was glaring daggers at you. Pesky little mortal
Loki Bet that he could easily beat you in any battle. A mortal like you wouldn’t last a minute in an actual battle with your weak little frame.
Why was it so goddam easy for you to just be charming and yourself? Why were people always drawn to you? What made you so goddamn special?
Loki knew that he was being irrational, unkind and unfair but he couldn’t help it. He could charm people sure, he had done so many many times but people ran from him and not towards him. There was no pull not like there was with you.
‘You know brother , it’s considered rather rude to Stare’ Thor Said sitting Down in the booth next to his brother
‘I’m not staring ‘ Loki Said in a dismissive tone.
Thor laughed
‘You seen rather jealous of lady y/n’
‘That’s preposturous! I’m not jealous. She’s a weak mortal’
‘Then why are you glaring at her?’
‘I’m just thinking of How easy it would be to defeat her in a battle’.
Thor rolled his eyes at him not believing his brother in the slightest.
‘Whatever you say brother! ‘ Thor exclaimed before joining the other Avengers who were still dancing around you.
Stark held one of his famous charity galas and Loki saw you talking to everyone in a gold ball gown that hugged your every curvy. You looked like an absolute vision.
Loki couldn’t stop admiring you, the way your hair fell down your back, how you lit up talking to your friends. You looked ethereal and Loki couldn’t stop starting at you. You hadn’t noticed thank the norms! Not that you really noticed him anyway so why would tonight be any different.
Loki noticed how content you looked slow dancing with his brother. Loki wondered if Thor and you were dating.
Loki felt a pang in his chest. Even his own brother favoured you over him and how could he not when you so easily charmed people around you. It was almost as if you put them under your spell.
Thor was spinning you around on the Dance floor and you were laughing, your eyes were practically glowing. Your head thrown back gleefully. Thor was smiling Down at you fondly.
Next you were dancing with Stark, you were chatting with Him the whole time, probably cracking jokes and laughing before Steve cut in.
Steve was much more gentle with you as you dance together slowly for a song.
Natasha danced with you next, you were dancing next to each other and doing all kinds of fast paced dance moves.
Loki spent all evening watching you.
There was an alien attack on New York and everyone was mid battle. Loki was fighting along his team mates and was using his Magic. He Saw the Way you were using daggers to stab the aliens, you had a fiery passion to you. For someone so breakable you seemed rather fierce.
You were impressive.
Loki had been rather distracted using his magic that he didn’t see one of the creatures coming close to Him which left Him with No time to react as the alien was close to hurting him. He notices that you had swung your hand with a dagger and hit the creature in the side before swinging your other hand with another dagger and hitting the creature in his neck and it fell unto the floor. You looked frozen at the spot, you were covered In blood, it had splattered and hit your face.
Loki tried to get you to look at him, tried to reach out to touch you but he froze. Touching you seemed wrong.
‘Y/n!’ Loki exclaimed as a creature dug his fingers into your side.
Loki reached out and grabbed your hand and pulled you out of the Way before the creature hurt you even further.
Loki lifted you off the ground and carried you somewhere safe away from the battle field
‘Stark! I need assistance, y/n got injured and appears to be in shock’
Loki gave his coordinates to Tony and watched you as you were avoiding his gaze
‘Why did you… ‘ Loki sighed he wasn’t usually tongue tied. He felt out of place And befuddled. Perplexed. He couldn’t think straight
You were still avoiding looking at him
‘You don’t have to carry me. I’m fine. Actually put me down’ you added stubbornly
‘Absolutely not! There’s a massive gash on your side. I would heal it but it’s too deep a cut I’m afraid’
‘It’s just a flesh wound. I will heal. I always do’
‘You won’t heal overnight’ Loki argued
‘You know despite what you think I’m not helpless or weak .’
‘What makes you say-‘
‘Thor mentioned it’ you stated with a hint of annoyance in your voice.
Of course. Brilliant just brilliant Thor. Just what he needed right now a stubborn mortal.
‘What on earth were you thinking! Norms!risking your life like that?’
You looked at Loki for the first time and seemed to tense up which caused your wound to sting even more and you hissed.
‘ look I know you’re not my biggest
fan but we are on the same team. team mates look out for each other’
‘We aren’t even mere acquaintances’
‘And do tell who’s fault is that’ you added giving him a look that told him you were pissed off.
‘ I beg your pardon! am I meant to converse and waste my time with a mere mortal!’
‘Oh I’m sorry my company doesn’t strike your fancy your majesty’ you added in a mocking voice.
Loki didn’t bother responding he just rolled his eyes at you. You folded your arms in front of your chest and looked away and muttered and stiffened in Loki’s hold.
‘Ignorant fool’
Loki wanted to scoff. He didn’t need saving especially not from you. But he kept his mouth shut. You needed to save your energy and arguing didn’t help. Plus he was tempted to ask more questions but didn’t get the chance to as Stark showed up.
‘Thank you for keeping her away from the battle Reindeer games’ Tony said as he took you gently Into his arms and flew off.
Loki noticed that you seemed to relax in Starks arms.
Loki just stood there for a moment and looked after you.
Loki didn’t see you around for the next while as you were recovering and he was pretty sure you were avoiding him and to be honest he didn’t blame you he hadn’t exactly been the most agreeable towards you.
While he hadn’t been nasty towards you as much as he had been behind your back.
He had had a lot of time to think about why your presence irritated him so much and the answer he had come up with didn’t please him and he would never admit it to anyone. He would take it to the grave.
He was perhaps. Just perhaps jealous of you.
The way you held yourself with grace and charisma in social gatherings. How everyone was naturally so drawn to you. How well liked you were by everyone you ever met.
How well spoken you were at Starks charity galas.
Why would he a literal god be jealous of you?
When he finally saw you again you were hanging out with Bucky, Steve and Sam. you were in the middle of a conversation but you seemed off, your smile seemed slightly forced and you seemed worn out and tired. You were wearing an oversized jumper and shorts.
Something had shifted in his perception of you. The annoyance was gone and in its place was regret, regret for not getting you out of the way quickly enough.
If it hadn’t been for him perhaps you wouldn’t have gotten injured. Now you weren’t yourself and Loki couldn’t deal with it so he left before he cause even more damage.
You didn’t go back to normal and no one noticed. At least no one but Loki. Loki saw How your smile wasn’t as wide or How your laugh wasn’t as vibrant anymore. Or How you weren’t the fucking ray of sunshine you used to be.It shouldn’t matter to Loki it really shouldn’t
as you weren’t friends. You weren’t close. But not seeing you smile? Yeah that was not acceptable. Loki knew he needed to cheer you up somehow but he didn’t know you well enough to even know what you liked and disliked.
Gone were the days where you sparkled. Your normal cheerful attitude was gone and a more gloomy one was there. You were engaged in conversation with one or several of the Avengers but lately you had on big baggy clothes and your nose stuck in a book. Your fellow team mates were giving you space.
Whatever happened that made you go into shock during the battle with the aliens must have really have taken its toll on you.
Loki spotted you on a couch next to the window and he sat down a few seats away from you.
You didn’t look up from your copy of little women at first as you appeared too engrossed in the book. Loki said nothing and started to read his own book.
You sighed
‘Did Tony ask you to babysit me? Because I’m fine Ste-‘ you started to say and looked up to find Loki on the couch
‘Oh’ you added confused
‘This is the best spot to read in the whole compound’ Loki added before going back to reading his book
‘I mean it. I really don’t need babysitting’
‘It’s a good thing that I’m not here to babysit you then’
You looked at him in disbelief
‘ why are you here then?’ You asked Loki softly.
‘You don’t seem like your usual self’
‘What do you mean?’
Loki sighed
‘Usually you shine. In a way unlike anyone I’ve ever met before. When you laugh you laugh with your whole body and you pull everybody in when you talk and it’s just so so irritating how easy it looks for you’
‘Are you. No you couldn’t possibly be-‘ You stopped talking.
You examined him for a moment he looked bothered almost -
‘You’re jealous of me?’ You asked
Flabbergasted
‘ why on Asgards green Earth would i be jealous?’ Loki Said trying to play it cool like he wasn’t bothered but he couldn’t fool you. At least not anymore.
‘you so are! I cannot believe mr I’m so great and mischeivious is jealous of a ‘mere mortal’ you commented and laughed
Loki didn’t say anything and you stopped laughing
‘Wait.. why are you jealous exactly ?’
Loki sighed and figured that maybe telling you couldn’t harm the situation. He was tired of always feeling alone and left out.
‘Everybody loves you! And it’s so easy for you being so naturally charming! It’s frustrating! It’s irritating! Even Thor like you better! He might be an oaf at times but he’s my brother’
‘ that’s not true! Thor adores you’
‘Please spare me the sympathic lies’
‘ you know before you joined he talked about How excited he was that you were joing the Avengers. He would coun’t Down the days for you to come. He even made me intrigued and i was ecstatic to meet you too’
Loki looked at you in disbelief
‘ why on earth would you be ecstatic’ Loki asked puzzled
‘ Thor is like family to me. When I joined he really looked after me, said I reminded him of you. He used to tell these long stories about your shenanigans when you were children. He made you seem so cool’
Loki didn’t say anything so you continued
You looked out the window before you continued.
‘I think everyone here is drawn to me because they can see how far I’ve come. When I arrived I wasn’t in the best condition. It took a lot of work and determination to become so charismatic and so positive’
‘How did you make the transition?’ Loki asked softly
‘Lots of patience with myself. Lots of practise. Still it’s nothing to be jealous of we are all different… Look we don’t have to be best buds or anything but can we just be civil to each other at least?’
Loki looked at you as if he saw you for the first time and nodded his head
‘Truce?’ You Said Holding out your pinky finger
‘Truce’ Loki confirmed linking his pinky finger with yours.
For the next few weeks Loki would join you on the couch and you would read in silence. On a rare occation he would bring you books for you to read and you would do the same to Him. Loki noticed you seemed a bit more like yourself.
On a particular rainy Loki noticed How you were staring out the window distracted from Reading your book.
‘What’s on your mind?’ Loki asked curiously
‘I’m admiring the rain. The Way it cascades Down the Windows so beautifully’
Loki was watching How soft your face looked with the sunlight framing your face beautifully. Your eyes were glowing and traces of your old self was formning again.
‘I wonder if a thunderstorm is coming later’ you said out loud in fascination
‘Do you want go outside in the rain?’
‘YES’ you Said before you Got up from your Seat and rushed out the compound and dragged Loki with you.
When you Got outside you stood and looked up at the rain before before spreding your arms out Loki was watching you with an amused expression.
‘You’re going to get soaked!’
You shrugged
‘I don’t Care!!’
You started to Dance in the rain Loki was watching you in fascination. You had No idea How carefree and beautiful you looked in that moment. It was as if you had sensed Him staring at you. This time it was in adoration and not envy.
‘Dance with me?’ You asked almost in a shy manner
‘I beg your parden?’
Had Loki just heard you right? You wanted to Dance with Him? Why on Asgard would you-
‘Dance. With. Me!!!’ You interrupted his thoughts.
Before he could protest you had taken his hands in yours and you started moving your body to the beat of an invisable drum, you looked up at Loki with your Big doe eyes and he was finding it hard to say No. Loki ended up dancing with you and you both just held Hands and danced For What seemed like an eternity. You kept smiling up at Him the entire time.
You and Loki didn’t hang out a lot on your own after that but you would wave Him over or Call Him over when you were talking to other Avengers and you would smile up at Him the entire time. You were starting to become your Old self again. Loki could tell you probably wanted Him to feel more included and Loki felt conflicted. He didn’t know why but he didn’t want you to pity Him. He wanted something Else. Something he couldn’t quite put his finger on.
You would even occationally go to Loki for advice.
You were sitting on the counter drinking your morning coffee with Loki sitting on a bar stool next to you sipping his tea. You looked adorable in your oversized in shirt and a pair of shorts.
You stretched which exposed your scar from that day, it was quite a massive scar. You noticed Loki looking at it and you put your arms down but didn’t cover yourself up.
‘How are you feeling now’ Loki said and pointed to where the scar was.
‘better’
‘You do seem a lot more chipper now. Almost like before’
Your gaze lingered on his.
‘Y/n?’
‘Yes?’
‘ if you are including me in conversations with the other Avengers because you pity me I would prefer it if you stopped. I don’t need anyone’s pity’
You stared at him incredulously
‘You’re kidding right?’
Loki looked at you with an almost vulnerable expression. Almost. Loki shook his head. It was too painful for him to speak at the moment.
‘I do not pity you. I include you because I value you. Because I see you as a friend. Because you put up with me, I know I’m a handful sometimes. Because I enjoy your company. Because you saved my life that day… Thank you for saving my life that day ’
Loki looked at you with a certain level of scepticism and scanned your face for any lies or deception but relaxed once he found nothing but earnestly.
‘I’m deeply sorry for how I treated you that day and before that. I was wrong to be jealous and I shouldn’t have taken it out on you. Is it possible for you to forgive me for being such a fool?’
You looked at him with a raw expression and leaned over and hugged him.
‘There’s nothing to forgive’
Loki didn’t expect the hug and tensed up, you sensed him being uncomfortable and let go and he regretted not hugging you back
‘I’m sorry I shouldn’t have hugg-‘
Loki shook his head and gave you a smile before pulling you into his arms and you hugged Him back fiercely.
‘Thank you for looking out for me that day. It means more to me than words could ever express’ Loki said placing his head on top of yours.
You spent ages in Loki’s embrace, he didn’t want to let you go.
The Avengers had gone to the fun fair but had split up in teams of Four to five people- it was Sam, Steve, Bucky, Wanda and Vision.
Tony was with Bruce, Morgan and Pepper.
The last group was you, Loki, Thor, Natasha and Peter.
You had spent the whole evening with your arms linked around Thor and Loki. Loki had to witness you being affectionate with Thor. It started out innocently enough- Thor did the ring toss game he had won a stuffed teddybear for you and you had hugged Him. But you had been giving Him looks all evening and Loki was.. Well slightly jealous, but this time he was jealous of Thor.
Ever since the hug a few weeks ago Loki had started to develope feelings for you.
he didn’t quite know what to do as a mere four months ago he had found your presence highly annoying now he looked forward to reading next to you on the couch and sharing his thoughts with you. He enjoyed when you dragged him out for group hangouts and asked him for advice. He liked the way your eyes sparkled when you talked about things you were passionate about.
He liked how you smiled when you saw him enter a room. He just overall really enjoyed how you lit up a room. He just enjoyed being around you. But he longed touch you.
Where you two a thing now? Did you fancy his brother??
Loki really couldn’t tell.
He knew the mature thing was to ask you about it but he was unsure of How to best approach the situation.
Thor and you were currently having a cotton candy contest and you were in the lead.
‘Go on y/n crush him!’ Nat said encouragingly while sitting across from you on the bench.
‘Go Thor!!’ Peter cheered
You swallowed the last piece of cotton candy and opened your mouth to show everyone No pieces of cotton candy was left
‘Y/n is the winner!!!’ Nat exclaimed and gave you a High five
You stood up and bowed
‘Thank you Thank you’
‘I BET PETER AND I CAN BUMP INTO YOU MOST IN THE SMALL CARS!’
‘Oh you are so dead!’ You commented excitedly before running after Thor and Peter which left Nat and Loki alone.
Loki looked after you slightly amused.
‘You know i haven’t seen y/n that happy for years. You’re a good influence on her’
‘ I’m sure she would have gotten there herself’ Loki shrugged and looked after you.
He had been very wrong about you and your strength. When life pushed you Down you always Got back up. You one of the strongest people he knew.
‘You know when she Got injured she briefly talked about quitting the Avengers and going back home. It was a really bad day for her and for weeks after she was a shell of who she used to be until you became friends. I believe you two make each other better’ Nat Said taking a drink from her beer before going over to the bumper cars.
Loki walked over to the bumper cars and saw you, Peter and Thor in the queue
Thor and Peter were chatting and you were smiling at Thor.
Loki watched you in the bumper car chasing after while you were laughing when they bumped into your car or you bumped into theirs.
You really were something else.
Loki looked at you with a small smile playing on his lips
Nat was laughing at them
‘Such children’ she murmured
Once they were done in the bumper cars Thor, Peter and Y/n joined Nat and Loki.
‘Told you we would beat you!!!’
You shoved Thor playfully and rolled your eyes.
‘I’ll get you next time!!’
‘In your dreams fair maiden!’
You laughed slightly and went over to Loki and linked your elbow together with Loki’s.
‘Next time I’ll team up with Loki and we will kick your ass! Right Loki’ you asked looking at him for confirmation
Loki gave you a nod but had gone quiet and you could sense some Kind of tension in the air and decided to go off alone with Loki.
‘Let’s go for a ride on the Ferris wheel’ you said as you walked away from the others.
‘We will be back shortly’ you called over your shoulder and everyone gave you a knowing look and you blushed and rolled your eyes.
When you got to the Ferris wheel there was a heavy silence and Loki seemed distracted and you waited patiently for him to speak.
By the time you sat down in the seats and the Ferris wheel started moving he still hadn’t spoken.
‘Loki?’
He looked at you with a blank expression
‘Is something wrong? You have been awfully quiet all evening’
‘I’m alright Darling No need to worry’
You gave Him a look that told Him you didn’t believe Him for a second.
‘It’s nothing’
‘Okay’ you shrugged and looked up at the sky as the Sun was setting. You were admiring the view.
‘It’s so beautiful ‘ you said in pure amazement as you looked at the sun set.
‘You know.. you should really tell him that you like him’
You looked at him so fast and gave him a confused look
‘Tell Who? I like.. wait.. What now?’ You asked visably confused
‘ my brother darling. I see the way look at him, the way he looks at you’
Loki added uneasily. He wanted you to be happy even if it wasn’t with him.
You started to look at him incredulously before laughing
Loki looked at you puzzled
‘I adore Thor’ you started
Lokis face fell a bit
Here it comes
‘He’s a dear friend of mine but I do not have any feelings for him… wait why would you think-‘
You looked at him and he looked at you
‘Wait a minute…Are you jealous again?’
Loki said nothing but looked at you with an almost pained expression
‘Wait… why are you jealous?’ You asked unsure
‘Isn’t it rather obvious?‘ Loki asked
You Said nothing. You just looked at Him and he looked at you. The tention was so Think that you could Cut it with a knife.
Loki leaned in towards you and touched your face and your eye widened in surprise which made Loki freeze up and lean back and he removed his hand from your cheek.
‘ my apologies Darling i thought there was a moment ‘ Loki murmered before looking away.
You pur your hand on top of his.
‘You like me?’ You asked timidly almost insecure
This made Loki look up at you.
‘ most ardently darling’ Loki’s impression softened and he smiled
‘Kiss me’ you added boldly and smiled
Loki soaked in your beauty for a minute, you were shinning and looked at Him like he was the best thing in the whole world which made him go a little soft
Loki didn’t need to be told twice. He captured your lips in his and caressed your face with his fingers which made you moan and deepen the kiss. You made out for Ages before eventually breaking apart, you rested your forehead against his.
Loki smiled against your forehead, he couldn’t believe he got to have this or that it was mutual. I didn’t understand how he got to have someone as wonderful as you in his life.
You were the actual sunshine of his life and he would treasure you for however long you wanted him.he hoped he got to keep you forever.

Anguish poised upon the trickster’s face, as a rugged smirk appeared on that of his opponents. She held one of his infamous daggers upon the throat of a feeble midguardian that the superior Loki had come to know. Her breathing was rash as she felt the metal glide smoothly across her skin, it had his eyes bulbous in fear. His variant version could surely not be that cruel, could it? A long time ago, he’d have done the same thing, and beckon any mortal at his call, wishing to restrain power atop of their heads in a means of controlling them and the rest of their race. But that was no longer what he wanted, all he wished for was for Sylvie to release y/n, and for her to get away unscathed. They were at the means of the end; the elevator to the time keepers, she was keeping him at bay, using y/n as a chip in her game to delay his span of actions to retain her and all the schemes that she had smoothly outlined after a series of long and gruelling years that had left her fending for herself at the end of worlds. She was that cruel, and the fault was all down to the TVA, they just did not want to claim responsibility for how she had evolved, with the damned wishes of diminishing them and their impactful schedule that courses through the rhythm that was the underwire of time lines.
She and this Loki, whilst attaining their natural similarities, were far from the course each had been set on. Glorious purposes were for the corrupt and foolish, those who did not deserve the ability to evade a chain of numerous deaths that were in the works of each and every role that they had been fit to play in the digressive scripts that commenced heroes to victory, and those by their sides, tricksters or nought, to a defining and crippling end. And much alike to how Loki had seen himself in that interrogation screen, his life expendable in the wrathful hand of Thanos the Titan whom had the vision of bringing a lifestyle of equality to all by erasing half of each existing race, Sylvie could rip away y/n’s life, and nothing in the grand scheme would be changed, it would merely be a bump in the road which would not show on record. “Isn’t that sweet, the variant has a weakness. Of whom would ever recount such a day that the God of Mischief cared for someone other than himself, it’s a rare sight that many don’t get to see.” Sylvie spoke like a snake seeding through thick foliage of grass, swivelling her tongue to persecute her words into a dagger, to which she was sending directly to his heart, which thumped gravely like the poised music played prior to a royal execution. His blood stirred, uncertain of how he should manipulate his female self to release the woman that he felt humanity for, all he knew was that he had no jurisdiction of risking her life so that he could prevent his predicted own with the aid of the lizards that sat with privilege at the top of a string of connective revelations.
They were supposed to be spoofed myths, much like the heart that Loki wore on his sleeve and was reflected in the tears that honoured his emerald sockets. “Let her go, she has nothing to do with this.” He could see y/n struggling to comprehend what was going on, as he cautiously stared at her, it was as though she did not recognise him. And that would be no surprise, Sylvie could have momentarily emitted to any timeline to suppress hostage over a version of the mortal of whom Loki was extraordinarily fond of, but that didn’t matter if it were not the one that he had acquainted himself with. If it were y/n; any y/n for that matter, he would deem himself with the role of saving her, ironically from a version of himself. Sylvie, who he had yet to know under that self assigned title, smugly coiled her arm around y/n’s waist, using that specific grip as leverage to steer the blade frightfully closer to the juncture of her throat. Loki could not help but gulp, as he watched her eyes scramble around the scene, and almost plead for his help. Whilst he was not exemplified by the title of a hero, that with every step they made was defined their path that was believed to be the route that would pave a greater future, there was nothing that the Asguardian trickster, birthed by the cold rush of a frost giant would not do to preserve the innocent life of his beloved.
“And why would I listen to you, or anyone for that matter? Every life, especially here, means nothing, so long as the graphic path that projects in the feral eyes of the Time Keepers stays pristine and there are no jagged colourings outside the lines, and that includes your little pet here. So, if you want her to live, then you will let me onto that elevator, and I will release her, that is the only way that is going to work here, otherwise I will not hesitate to regress this one into a pile of limp bones and skin that lays on the ground, wallowing in her own blood.” Her threats were not just defining Loki with the infinite thoughts of riddling fear that struck his appearance with such emotion rather vividly, but also y/n, who shifted with lack of settlement under the grip of the sly goddess. It was a rather brave act for a mortal, to think about escaping from the coiled grasp of a woman of Asgard; a princess. There was nervousness enveloped in Loki’s eyes as he stifled his breath through his nostrils, attempting to remain calm. He had to stay in such a way, to ensure that y/n’s life, even if not be his y/n, hung in the balance.
It was his intent, that despite him knowing another version of this fair maiden, that was righteously feistier and more adversed with him and his slick ways, to save her, no matter what. He didn’t know if he’d ever be able to see his y/n ever again, Mobius had told him that he was to die in that timeline, and he wondered how she was coping without his presence, or if she was even alive… There were still many questions that he held above all to ask, and if he couldn’t ask his lost love, then he’d ask the damned lizards in the epitome of space if he were to ever get the chance to meet their highnesses. And whilst this y/n may have been nothing more than another vessel, a cusp of air that was passing through time, Loki held his hand in a surrender, allowing his weapons to clatter upon the ground. Sylvie could go wherever she wanted, as long as he could rescue this one woman from her threatening hands. He didn’t trust her, despite her being a Loki, and perhaps that was why he had trouble inclining his faith in her.
Everything that had fled her mouth, the excuses, the thirst for vengeance reminded him of himself, but he wanted to be better than that. And he thought that this path with the TVA could help, that he could possibly redeem himself and save some from getting pruned, that was the plan at least. He had always been a cockroach, slipping from scathing circumstances alive, but now he had discovered that he was always meant to die, and that was his greatest fear; to disappear from life and not be remembered. He had no legacy, and if those flickering images were indeed true, no one would care for his passing, except maybe Thor and y/n. But he had no idea of what was or already had become of either of them, they were the two most important people to him alongside Frigga, and he had already learned what one of his countless mistakes had cost.
“Because, whilst you may disagree to the proof that we are the same, and that you’re not a Loki, the one thing that you can understand is how it feels to lose someone. You’ll never make it to the Time Keepers, they’ll catch up to you, you’re in need of a better plan, so here, take this, and leave the woman, she has no part to play in this shamble of catastrophe.” He threw the device that she had wanted towards her, and she caught it instantaneously, removing one hand from her grip on this y/n. “She is a variant, same as us, but she comes from a world where she is simply of no importance, except to me. She’s mundane in the way that she lives, in fact she’s quite simple. But she’s a fighter, and a damned good one at that, and whilst this may not be the same version as the one that I have interacted with, she deserves better than to have her story end here.” Sylvie scoffed, rolling her eyes at the sentimental point that he was trying to bide across.
“You can’t get it through your thick skull, can you? You really must be a Loki; she’s expendable, the same as all of us, they don’t care for values or worth, they just need every little thing to be perfect in their handbooks that are meant to cop out every difference that subjects a variant into being impulsive and stepping out of line. A human is not going to change a way that they think if a god cannot, and that obstacle isn’t going to devise me from abandoning my schemes either, this place must fall at my feet, for not myself but everyone that has ever suffered at the hands of these sick rules. We’re supposed to be the tricksters here and everywhere else, however they are the ones playing games, and looped digressively into their own mind controlling one. They are so hellbent on making sure that nothing sticks out of the lines that they will go so far as to ensure that they have no idea where they originally sprouted from; it’s no coincidence that they look human.” Seethed the other Loki, loosening her grip on the woman and pushing her towards Loki, though she didn’t look so adamant to join him either.
It was nothing that he could blame her for, he had not so long ago in her sights struck terror upon the planet of which she habited. Or so he assumed, it was either that or she was really confused, both would make sense, though to him the one defining fact that was as clear as ice to him was that she didn’t care for him as his y/n had. She had been gentle with him, noticing that he could crack at the slightest bruise to his ego; he had met her before he spited and aspired into being the ruler of her world. She had stopped him from killing his own brother when he had resorted to stealing the throne; a SHIELD agent had been her status, but this one was not quite as skill full, he could tell as her eyes cast down and she toughened her jaw, he was sure her toes were curling in her flat wear shoes. “Y/n is not just human, she is a wondrous momentum, and every second I spend without her, I miss her more than the last. Let me be something other than a foe for once, she lost me when I was dragged here, and this is the closest that I shall ever get to her again I fear.”
“Loki.” His name was called, but not by Sylvie. The soldiers were behind him, and they called y/n forwards, coaxing her away from the long lived menaces and into their naive shell of safety. Loki tried to grab her, pull her away; he knew she had witnessed too much for there to even be a chance for no punishment, but Sylvie grabbed him just in time for him to begin to scream and shout, begging them to show her mercy. Though his words did not sway them, his tongue was not so silver after all, instead he was left with a somber taste rotting in his mouth as they watched them strike her with the rod, pruning her out from existence and brutally dismissing her body into the great beyond. “What did I tell you?” Sylvie quirked her brow, them leaping through time to escape the horrific scene. It wouldn’t be today that she’d face those lizards that lived high and mighty, but she’d get her vengeance, as would Loki for his beloved. He wanted to return to his y/n, but that possibility was vastly out of focus. He should have trusted Sylvie ironically enough … then maybe y/n would have been alive… But he had always had a lack of trust in himself.
She had not even spoken a singular word to him, she was too meek, however he could still remember his y/n’s last words, and they would haunt him forever. How am I supposed to trust you after all that you’ve done? And now, he could not trust himself; not to save her, not to have faith in the TVA, or the flow of time itself. The universe was cruel, and he found himself wishing that he could be nothing more than a midguardian man that had no quarrels with changing his mind in the last moment, and would play life at it’s recommended pace. He just had to have been born a god, not to mention of deceit. Fate had toyed with him as she did, and now he found himself wishing for his legacy to be fulfilled; he’d rather be dead than mourning y/n in this life.

Loki Dreaming, Chapter 1
Tumblr media
The Beginning
Word Count:1k
Main Characters: Y/N, Loki
Speed: Slow burn
Mature?: No
Pronouns used: she/her
Summary: Y/N starts to explore the world of lucid dreaming by shifting into a reality of the mcu, specifically to a scene where she can meet the god of her dreams.
WARNING: This is a fictional piece of writing, lucid dreaming will not have these exact effects. With this in mind if you are still interested in doing lucid dreaming please do your research and proceed with caution!
You stare at the screen as your mind raced with so many thoughts and emotions. You read over the article again and again. 'Lucid Dreaming is a way to control what you dream and how you react.' You throw yourself in to your research and wait for night to fall.
It all started as you had planned it. Laying in bed with a calming youtube video playing in the background as you fully relaxed into your sheets. The almost trance like music faded as you had focused on the scene that you wanted, the holding cell of Loki in the Avengers Tower. As much as you had wanted to just jump in to it you figured you would start small while keeping yourself safe.
As your eyes fully adjust to the scene you look down at your body, it had come through in this new dream world exactly as you would look in the waking world. "woah..." you exclaim softly as you look at your hands in shock. A fake cough came from some distance away from you. You look up to see the trickster himself, Loki. You examine his face closely to see that he was a perfect replica of Tom Hiddleston which makes you break out a large smile on your face.
He looks back you with a look of obvious annoyance. "What is wrong with your face mortal?" He rolls his eyes and crosses his arms.
"Well umm... well I came looking for you.. I am a big fan if I must admit" You blush and look back down at your hands as your nervousness starts to overcome you.
"hm.." He mulls over his thoughts as he looks over you. "I guess you'll have to do then mortal, show me you mean it and go over to that panel to release me". He smiles and points over at the large panel you just happened to be standing next to.
"I.. I don't think I can do that the Aveng...." you start to ramble before being cut off by Loki banging on the glass of the holding cell.
"and they call me the liar. You admiration means nothing to me if you cannot finish a simple task" He frowns and just like that your heart starts to ache. You didn't mean to make him upset yet here you are. You took all of this time and effort to meet him and you couldn't even push a button. Your eyes prick with tears and you start to slowly move to the panel. Loki looks at you with a raised eyebrow and waits for your next move.
"I'm sorry I hesitated" you wipe your tears away and look at the panel trying to calm yourself. You were in too deep. Both you and Loki knew that yet you still searched for a way too free him from his cell. You take a deep breath as you spot the button and as you press it you let out a long exhale. You take your time to turn around and see Loki stretch and walk out of his large cell. As he comes closer you start to realize how massive he actually is. You back up towards the panel as your heart beats even faster.
"hm... you will have to do" He places his cold hand underneath your chin to move your head around as he examines you. As he pulls away his hand you start to miss the coldness of his touch. "now, my plan will have to change. These fools must not be underestimated" His eyes scan the various buttons and gadgets strewn across the room until he spots his scepter. "now follow me mortal" he says dismissively as he walks to his scepter to weigh it in his hands.
"uhm.. excuse me, Loki Sir. Where are we going?" a small smirk appears on his face as he turns to you.
"your majesty will do just fine, mortal." he taps his scepter on the ground making his usual glowing armor appear on his body. "now for where we are going it'll have to be a secret. Can't have you going off once you grow bored of me" another light blush flushes your cheeks and you look nervously at your shoes. A slight smile grows on Loki as you look away and he grabs your hand before a flash of blue light engulfs the both of you as you're transported.
You breathe hard as you fall to your knees in a wooden house. Loki looks down at you with an expression you can't quite pin point but it looks as if he was slightly concerned. You start to slowly catch your breath and look at your surroundings. It looked like a quaint little cottage in what you could tell was deep in the woods. But the more you looked the items within the cottage were almost other worldly. You stand up and furrow your brows. "what.. what is this place?"
"ah so you like it huh? This is a replica of a home we have in Asgard." He smiles briefly at the thought and walks around what seemed to be the kitchen. He places his hand on an intricately carved wooden table. "there are many fond memories here with my mother.... my brother and father on the other hand." He stops abruptly and snarled. "they make the memories not so fond." He walks away from you to go in to the main room. You look after him slightly bewildered at his actions. Why did he open up to you and become vulnerable. That shouldn't be in his nature, you've watched the movies enough to know he doesn't just tell anyone his emotions. "well.. anyways. This is where we will be staying until I can properly get my troops in order" He shrugs off his cape and heads back over to his scepter. "I expect you to stay exactly where you are until I return" You frown deeply and huff slightly which made a small chuckle arise from Loki mouth. "I promise I will return shortly"
All you could do was nod as his body engulfs in that familiar blue light as he teleports to gods know where. You sigh and head in to the main room to explore your new home.

Oh My, Poptarts?! - Thor Odinson xreader headcanon fan fic
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/N has Thor try poptarts for the very first time
Warnings: none just Thor being adorable and excited
. Y/N comes back from the store and eats a poptart & Thor walks in the room and says “hello lady Y/N what do you have there?” She looked over at him and said “a birthday cake flavored poptart” Thor looked confused and said “a what?” Y/N said “a poptart, have you ever had one before?” He shook his head and said “no never, Asgard doesn’t have anything like that.” Y/N broke the poptart in half and reached out to hand him half & said “here, try it.” Thor took the poptart and took a bite and smiled and said “wow! That’s amazing!! It tastes sweeter than grapes!” Thor is excited like a little kid on Christmas when Y/N introduced him to poptarts she found it it adorable
. Y/N goes into the kitchen to show Thor that she has a whole box of poptarts and says “help yourself to some whenever you’d like ok?” He nodded and said “thank you Y/N for sharing.” Whenever Y/N would plan to go out to get food she would have Thor go with her to pick out any flavor of poptarts he wanted
. Flavors Thor would like: Birthday Cake, Oreo, Strawberry, Wild Berry & maybe Lemon
. Flavors Thor would try just to give it a try: Cherry, cookie dough, chocolate fudge, s’mores, blueberry
. Thor would basically try any flavor he possibly could since he’s never had anything like it before, he always gets excited about eating a poptart for breakfast
. Y/N always makes sure to buy Thor his favorite flavor of poptarts and would suprise him with a new flavor as well to change things up a bit and Thor is always very grateful and pays her back all the time
. Thor tried a non frosted poptart at one point and said “this one is not as good as the others, it looked good but the frosted ones taste much better.” Y/N nodded and said “you are right about that Thor they do taste better, I was never a fan of the non frosted ones either, it’s ok that you don’t like them, it’s good to try new flavors.”
. Thor is really fond of cake flavored poptarts and strawberry poptarts oh and coffee flavored pop tarts and sometimes would dip one in coffee and eat them and would be very happy
. Sometimes Loki would come over for a visit and one time ate all of Thor’s pop tarts and Thor would get upset but Y/N would say “don’t worry Thor, I will get you more it’s ok.”
Hey lovelies!! Here is my 2nd Thor fan fic 😁 hope you guys enjoy!! xx🤍 I am writing for Thor now so if anyone has any requests for a Thor fan fic feel free to let me know 🙂

Tumblr media
The day for the ball had finally arrived. It was the ball to commemorate Thor’s appointing to the throne. The same ball Loki had invited you. Prior to now you always attended the ball as a member of the guards, someone to watch over the royal family and their guests. You had no idea how to act as a Prince’s date. How do you dress? How do you behave? What do you say? What do you do?
You decided you’d go to the royal family’s seamstress and ask for her help. Maybe she could whip up a dress or help modify an old one. Just as you were about to enter her work quarters, Prince Thor stepped out.
“Oh, your highness, I apologize,” you said in a gasp as you bowed. Thor was your friend but not nearly as close as you were with Loki and he’d never given you explicit permission to not call him by his title.
“Oh, Y/N, just the person who I wanted to see.”
“Oh?” you questioned, surprised and curious as to what Thor would want with you.
“Yes, uh...Y/N, you’ve been a warrior here for how long?” he questioned.
“A little over three years, your highness.”
“And in that time, you’ve grown close to my brother, is that right?”
You nodded, unsure where he was headed with this. “Yes. He and I are very close.”
“And with the closeness, would mean you’d never want to hurt him, right?” the prince questioned in a light tone.
“Of course not, I wouldn’t dream of it.”
“Is that so? Because I have on good authority that my little brother has grown very fond of you. So much so, he stole a kiss from you.”
Your cheeks blazed but you remained silent.
“Which is fine. I know you’re his date tonight and I’m happy for him. But...I’m just wondering if your past is interfering with your feelings?”
“I’m not sure what you mean,” you lied.
“I saw a kiss take place between you and a man who was not my brother last night.”
 You swallowed.
“Now, that’s none of my business. You may court whomever you wish. I am not your father, but I am Loki’s brother. His older, very protective, brother. Should anything happen to him or his heart, I will hold you responsible. Am I making myself clear?”
 You nodded quickly and fervently.
 “Yes, your highness.”
“Good. I’m glad we had this little chat,” he said with a grin and a pat on your shoulder.  “Are you here to get a dress?” he asked with a warmer voice. Thor had never scared you. You knew he was capable of any sort of strength, so a threat from the soon-to-be-king was terrifying.
 “Yes, your highness.”
“My vote, is ask Esma for a green dress. It’s Loki’s favorite color.”  He winked and walked away. Once he left, you could breathe.
 --------------
Esma was thrilled to help you modify an old dress that the Queen had donated years ago for her to work with. She also was entirely giddy to help you do your hair and curl it so it fell around you and she used a pretty dust to dress your collarbone, your hair, and face. She did your makeup for you, and eventually, the dress and jewelry went on. You looked like royalty, but you didn’t feel like it.
You could hardly recognize yourself. Your hair had always hung straight, your clothing not fashionable but functional, your face usually plain and dirty from fighting. But now, you were clean, your hair soft and flowy, your dress showing off your feminine curves, the jewelry highlighting your bone structure and skin tone. But as much as you were dressed up, you’d never been in a royal event as a guest, you were the hired fighter. You were there to fight, kill, protect. You weren’t there to dance, laugh, eat lavish food, and sit in on gossip.
A knock came at your door and you nearly jumped out of your skin. Your nerves were battering around inside you so badly you were shaking. Butterflies were hammering your stomach as your heart beat so hard and fast you thought you’d pass out.
“Y/N? Are you okay? Are you in there?” Loki’s smooth voice sounded through the door.
“Yes, I’ll be right out,” you called as you gripped your stomach and tried to calm yourself. You finally went to the door and opened it, terrified Loki would change his mind when he saw you.
But when you opened the door, you got an eyeful of Loki in his formalwear, looking even more amazing, if that was even possible. Your breath hitched and your eyes went wide taking in his attire. His hair was slicked back, his suit was black, gold and green, complimenting your shiny emerald dress.
Loki’s eyes widened at you, sending a wave of fear through you.
“You look...amazing. You’re absolutely stunning, Y/N,” he complimented. “You always look beautiful, but tonight...I don’t know, something about the color of this dress seems to compliment your eyes, your skin...You’re glowing.” He smiled sweetly and offered his hand.
“Thank you, Loki. You look better than ever yourself.”
A small grin came to both of your faces as he lead you to the giant double doors before the ball room, Thor and Sif in front of you, and the King and Queen in front of them. Two guards opened the double doors and the announcing began. They introduced the King and Queen, then Prince Thor and Sif, and then you.
Your heart felt like it had stilled entirely in your chest. Your palms began to sweat, scaring you to your core.
“Announcing the arrival of Prince Loki Odinson and his guest, Y/F/N.”
Don’t trip. Don’t trip. Don’t trip, you repeated in your head as you wanted to close your eyes and walk forward into the large floor, the sheer number of guests making your stomach do a flip. Thankfully, the Jedi had taught you how to dance for some undercover missions and you’d seen enough of the dances in Asgard to know how they danced. You just worried that in Loki’s arms, you’d become a fumbling idiot.
“Don’t be nervous,” Loki whispered in your ear as you set up the frame of the dance and the music began, and all of the couples on the floor began twirling and moving to it. His advice soothed you a bit, and he was a fantastic leader who was light on his feet.
Suddenly, as you twirled effortlessly with him, your eye caught one of the guards posted closest to the royal family’s area at the table.
 Anakin.
He was watching you with a pained expression, eliciting a guilty feeling to spur up in your chest and stomach. The look on his face tormented you and as soon as your eyes caught each other, he averted his gaze. You bit your lip and tried to look back to Loki, he had asked you to this dance and you owed him your attention. And you wanted to give it to him
“Are you having a good time?” he asked quietly in your ear toward the end of the song.
“Yes, thank you for inviting me.”
He grinned at you. “There’s no one I’d rather be here with.”
After a few more dances, finally, it was time to eat. You sat with Loki as they served the first course and you tried your best to eat daintily. Queen Frigga complimented you and said you looked dazzling. You thanked her and blushed as Loki smiled at you proudly.  You were laughing and giggling with the women at the table, gossiping a tad bit while the men stared at you in awe and appreciation. The feeling of being adored and in the inner circle was intoxicating.
But this was all new to you, the high heels, the tight dress, the constantly being under surveillance of the people at the table and the guards. Usually you were on the outside looking in, and it was just fine. But tonight, you were one of the ones to be adored, sought after, and you weren’t sure you were doing it right.
All the while though, you couldn’t help but steal a glance or two at Anakin. Each time, he averted his gaze from you, masking the look of pain on his face. How could you do this to him? To Loki? You loved being here. You loved the feeling of being in Loki’s arms. The feeling of being part of the royal family rather than the warrior on the sidelines.
Loki asked you to dance again and you happily accepted, joining the other couples. Soon, Loki had busted out his best moves and slowly an audience was forming around you two as he expertly twirled, dipped, and even picked you up, making you giddy and blush and giggle.
While you were having the time of your life though, Anakin’s blood was boiling. You didn’t notice that every time Loki dipped you, he winked at Anakin. You didn’t notice that Loki could’ve danced anywhere in the ballroom but chose the corner closest to Anakin. You didn't notice that when Loki had run his hand along your leg for a dance, Loki had shot a dark look toward Anakin.
And all he could do was stand there and watch it happen. Anakin’s job was to stand watch, to  not move from his post, to monitor and observe the royal family and the outside for any sign of a threat. He wanted to leave. Hell, he wanted to run from there. He wanted to spare his heart from this torment of watching you be happy with another man. But he couldn’t. All he could do was watch. He never thought seeing you happy could bring him this much pain.
After a long dance stent, Loki invited you out to a terrace, again, he chose the one closest to Anakin. You happily took his hand and he showed you out to the terrace that overlooked the breathtaking landscape. Loki couldn’t resist looking back at Anakin and giving him his best smile. The smile of winning. The smile of a trickster. The smile of man who’d won.
The smile sent a jolt of anger through Anakin that he moved one foot from his post then reminded himself to stay put, his teeth gnashing as his jaw clenched.
“I’ve had a wonderful time so far tonight,” you said quietly.
“Me too. You’re an excellent dancer,” he commented.
“You seem surprised,” you teased with a nudge to his shoulder.
“Not in the slightest. I never underestimate you,” he said seriously, his eyes on yours intently. The comment and gaze making you motionless, your breath caught in your throat as his ice blue eyes bored into yours.
The tiniest smile came to his face as he leaned forward, his mouth suddenly on yours and fireworks erupted inside you. His touch sent a jolt through you, but you wanted this to happen. All too soon, he pulled away slightly, breaking the magical kiss.
“I have something for you,” he informed quietly.
“Is that so?” you questioned, quirking an eyebrow at him.
“Yes.” He reached in his pocket and pulled out a small black velvet bag pulled tight with a drawstring.
“What’s that?” you questioned with a small laugh.
“This,” he started, taking a golden ring out, “was my mother’s. I wanted you to have it. I see a lot of her in you. I believe you have the same birthstone as her, yes?”
 You gasped lightly and nodded.
“Loki, this is gorgeous. You really don’t need to give this to me,” you lightly objected.
“I know I don’t have to, but I want to. You deserve it for being a great friend to me and a wonderful date.”
“I don’t know what to say,” you gushed as he got down on one knee at put it on your hand, making you cry a little.
Anakin had watched the entire thing unfold. He began internally screaming. All he saw was the Prince on one knee, sliding a ring on your finger, as you cried and had your hand on your chest. He had half a mind to storm over there and push Loki over the balcony. He had half a mind to storm over and demand what you were thinking.
He hardly recognized the strangled sob that came from his own throat as he watched the horrifying scene display before him. Once Loki was done, he kissed you again and put his arms around you, making Anakin clench his fist and jaw in response.
The rest of the night was thrilling and fun for you, with the typical ball festivities of drinking, eating, and chatting. Toward the end of the evening, Loki was pulled away by King Odin and Thor to talk to someone from a neighboring land. When he left, you took the chance to be alone on another terrace, letting the cool breeze wrap around you.
“You look lovely tonight,” Sif said suddenly from behind you as she joined you and handed you a drink.
“Thank you,” you said. “You look amazing as always.” You clinked glasses and laughed a little bit.
You had always liked Sif, because why wouldn’t you? She was a female soldier who often had similar obstacles to overcome socially and politically. The only reason you and her weren’t quite as close as you and Loki was that you had magic or the Force, and she didn’t. She shared the braun aspect moreso with Thor.
“And that guard, the one from the Jedi. He doesn't look half bad either.”
Your head whipped to face her.
“Who?” you said much too quickly.
“The one with the wavy hair. Anakin, I believe?” she noted. “He is very easy on the eyes.” Her eyebrows shot up in a gesture as she took a drink. You stood dumbfounded. Sif thought Anakin  was handsome? Of course she would. But...but she couldn’t. Anakin was yours. Not hers.
This certainly put you in an odd situation.
“Do you plan to ask him on a date?” you said with bite as you swilled your drink back.
“Possibly,” she noted with a coy smile.
“Has that drink gone to your head?” you demanded, turning more to face her. “His kind, the Jedi, can’t date.”
“Oh, is that so? Then why have I heard that you and he have been more than friends?” she pressed. It wasn’t accusatory or even mean.
“So you know about us?” you questioned with a  groan as your hands went to your face.
“More or less. I just wanted to see if it was true.” She grinned in such a way that you knew she was only asking about him to get a reaction from you.
“I see,” you said. “I don’t know what to do, Sif. I grew up with Anakin, he is like a brother, a best friend, we saved each other’s lives for years. But now we're both grown up. He’s matured in so many ways, but he's still the same goofball I’ve always known. And yet, I can’t ignore that I love being around Loki. Loki and I understand each other, share a love of books and knowledge. When I’m with one, I miss the other. When I kiss one, I only think of them. But...my heart wants two different things.”
“But you don’t have to choose,” Sif said suddenly.
“What?” you questioned, flabbergasted at your friend.
“Think about it, Y/N. Loki isn’t allowed to choose his wife, that’s King Odin’s doing. Then, your friend Anakin, he belongs to the Jedi...as I’m told by you and everyone else, unless they leave the order, they can’t be involved romantically, right?”
 Begrudgingly, you agreed.
“So see? You don’t have to choose, because you don’t have a choice in the matter.”
“But, Sif, I am courting both of them. Anakin has asked me to dinner, and I see no time soon that I will say no to any offer Loki provides. He gave me his mother’s ring tonight,” you informed as you flashed the ring at her and she gasped.
“That is gorgeous.” She sighed. “Y/N, I can not tell you what to do, but I can say what I would do in your position.”
 “What’s that?”
“Go for both. Enjoy your tie with both until you can’t. Be with both until Anakin has to leave or Loki is told to take a wife. Life is much too short to not give yourself what you want.”
 “Sif--”
“Just...think about it. Would you rather dwell on the inevitable and deny yourself some happiness? Or would you rather live as fully as possible?” She perched up an eyebrow at you and gave you a nod before leaving.
This certainly gave you a lot to contemplate over the night.
Loki had escorted you to your bedroom, following you inside to bid you a goodnight.
“I had an amazing time tonight,” you thanked as you stepped into your room.
“It was my pleasure. I’m so glad you said yes,” he sweetly responded with an adorable smile.
You started toward your vanity to go take your hair out of its curls when you noticed something on the bed.
“What’s this?” you asked curiously as you stepped toward a wooden box with a satin ribbon on it.
“It appears to be a present,” Loki said with dripping sarcasm and a smirk.
“Oh, does it?” you quipped back, rolling your eyes and grinning.
“Are you going to open it?” he questioned.
“Oh, right.” You stepped toward it and untied the ribbon and opened the box. Inside was a book, it looked a little older. You opened it and read the title and author and gasped, nearly dropping it. “It’s--it’s--”
Loki came forward and took it from you gently. “It’s the first edition of Primrose by Lord Hedenswald. That’s still your favorite book, correct?”
You nodded vigorously as he handed the book back. “Yes! I lost mine years ago...but I never had a first edition.” You gripped it and asked, “You got this for me?”
He nodded, a smile on his thin lips. “Yes, do you like it?”
“I love it. Thank you so much.” You leaned in and kissed him, the electricity strong between you two.

Cupid’s Contract
Tumblr media
Loki and (Name) had been spending some time getting things ready for Christmas time on Midgard for celebration. After everything that had happened in New York and finding out about Thanos and how he was controlling him; it was decided to keep Loki on Midgard working as an avenger to amend what he had done. Much to the disagreeing of the others aside from Thor whom was estatic to have his brother by his side again.
The team was released to hear that (Name) was assigned to be his mentor and senior supervisor. She didn’t mind taking the job she found the Asgardian god to be very interesting and entertaining, a breathe of fresh air in a way; most of the other avengers were very serious in tricky situations (aside from Tony) and yet Loki always found a way to make some kind of comment, that earned a smile or chuckle from (Name). To be frank; Loki loved hearing her laugh, more so if he was the cause of her laughter.
“JARVIS. Please let everyone know I will be taking Loki out of the facility for an errand runs” (Name) called out grabbing her coat and scarf
“A notification has been sent. When will you be arriving?” asked the male AI.
“Not too sure, don’t wait on us” she called out before closing the door behind her.
(Name) opened the door and called out for Loki to hurry up. With a green flash Loki was by her side in all black, a gray and black checkered scarf around his neck. It had been snowing the night before and it was getting really cold coming to Christmas time.
“Alright to the car where it’s warmer; we need to get some Christmas decorations, I’m thinking of blue and silver themed, maybe some green so the tree makes sense” (Name) blabbered on as she started the car up
“We could always use magic dear-”
“Loki no. No magic. Plus I really want to have a real pine tree”
“...fine. But why blue and silver?” Loki asked her as they started to drive, Loki in the passenger seat
“Easy, it’ll piss off Tony” she smiled “we’ve had red and gold themed Christmas’ for years now and that was chosen by Tony himself”
“Well then...count me in, lets us annoy the short avenger” Loki shared a cheeky smirk
“Careful handsome, don’t let Tony hear ya say that” she teased.

Time had past and the two decided to have something to eat, after they slaving way buying decorations and last minute gift shopping.
After everything that had happened, the public started to get more used to seeing Loki around, every now and then. However the media noticed his closeness towards agent (Name) and pounces on the opportunity to get the hot story.
Usually the media would take photos of the two when they were together on normal days doing domestic things like; grocery shopping, movie night, and the simple hanging out even. Although (Name) and Loki cared nothing of it, it did get to the point where the avengers started to pry into their relationship as well; curious to their domestic closeness.
The two obviously had a closeness that they both acknowledged, and they both discussed in private the idea of a relationship but decided to wait on it, they both believed they still needed to work on each other as individuals before committing to a relationship, and filling out a ‘cupid’s contract’ to establish the relationship is consensual, and will not result in favoritism or get in between their work of duties.
Loki was smiling at her fondy as they ate food in the large food court. The two enjoying each other company until the sound of several cameras sounded off. Loki clenched his fists as he started to glare at the paparazzi, (Name) grabbed his hand giving him a look ‘calm down’.
Heaving a sigh he relaxed pushing his food away
“I think I’ve lost my appetite” he grumbled
“Oh don’t be like that sir. Just eat” she sighed as she continued to eat her own food ignoring the paparazzi that continues to snap shots of them.
“Well my apologizes. It's not my fault that I don’t enjoy being photographed like some zoo animal in a cage for other’s entertainment” he snapped.
This took (Name) by surprised, she never appreciate his bursts of frustrations. Frowning she stopped eating and crossed her arms and glaring lightly at him as she started to tell him off
“And you think I like this attention?” she sapped back
“Darling… that’s not what I was saying” he glared back at her attitude
“Maybe you should learn to choose your words carefully next time, love” she warned him.
Another flashes go off as they started to get closer to hear their conversation. Loki could feel his blood boil as he started to feel a little too cornered from the paparazzi, the arguing with (Name) didn't help either even though he knew he was the one who started it. (Name) could tell Loki was going to loose his temper anytime soon so she pulled her gun at the paparazzi with such an intense and feirce glre
“Back the fuck off before I kill you all” she said threateningly as they scattered off
“Darling just being we are arguing doesn’t mean to take it out on the pathetic humans” Loki said less frustrated there was no more loud clicks and flashing lights.
“Oh forgive me for trying to get them off our back so you didn’t feel uncomfortable” she defended putting her gun away.
Silence between the two before they heaved a sigh. They two took time to calm down for bit, until Loki started to chuckle which made (Name) give him a questioning stare
“What?” (Name) piped up
“Nothing, just amused of what this times headlines will be. “Agent (Name) and Loki of Asgard: break up?” or perhaps “what did he do?”. The lists goes on” Loki smiled.
(Name) took the time think up some headlines that made her chuckled as she smiled at him
“I’m betting on “Loki pushes (Name) to her limits: pulls out gun”  or “couple makes a scene”..." She paused for a moment "You know Fury is probably gonna scold us and probably interrogate us on our relationship and what is it that we have”
Loki looked at her confused but asked her to go on and elaborate on what she meant on ‘our relationship’.
“Come on Loki… what’s the point in denying this” she mentioned between them with her hands “We do almost everything couples do aside from being touchy with each other-”
“Well dear, you were the one who wanted us to put the pin in our relationship status, for once we found ourselves as individuals, to which I respect” Loki spoke now seriously
“Yes… I know, but I’m saying... I'm saying I’m wrong. I think we should make it official and just get the stupid work contract thing signed-”
“Love contract” Loki interjected with a smile
“Y-yes...that. Anyway, we would also have to disclose it to our work colleagues” (Name) explains resting her cheek on her fist as she played with her food with her fork
“...I don’t believe so. To disclose that to Nick, I understand but to the avengers? I think not” Loki spoke with a frown “It is and will be our relationship, they don’t need to know of our private affairs”
“Agreed, but you brother needs to know and I don’t want to hear any excuses, alright” (Name) said pointing a finger at him
“Fine.. but you do understand that he will blurt it to everyone and to the public” Loki heaved a sigh
“Yes… but I’m not ashamed”
“...Neither am I. But I value privacy...you know not of my oaf of a brother Love...You know nothing”
“We’ll be fine handsome” she said softly and held his hand tenderly to which he returned a soft tender smile her way

Tumblr media
When you open the doors of the shop you're instantly greeted with the odor of judgment. The eyes of the collect few of men were gathered to one place, you. You hadn't even taken a breath in the infrastructure before you were targeted. What a wonderful life. Just another day you thought to yourself before you walked to the meeting room. A petite space in a backroom with a roundtable that sat your team and you. A single whiteboard was in front of the table, a bunch of doodles and no progress were displayed on it.
You dug in your satchel to grab your notebook and a couple of pencils. You knew you weren't going to ink anything to perfection. It was rare for you too. You were sketching again to nothing. You decided to roughly redraw the Loki tripping on his cape, just a warmup to keep you sane. While your hands were occupied your brain wasn't.
It boomed with scenarios and complications to who the Tom was at your apartment. Perhaps you were overreacting, your imagination just running wild since you were constantly trying to come up with new ideas. But what if this was serious and someone who looked like Tom just took his place. A shiver ran down your spine. Who would want to imposter Tom? Why would someone want to take his place?
With all the excitement your stomach growled. Shit. You were hungry and you forgot to grab something for breakfast. There was a coffee shop you usually stopped by to grab breakfast and the heavenly coffee. You were too in your head to think about stopping by to go to heaven today. You rolled your eyes. Great.
Your rush to get to work left you to be the second person on your team to arrive. Nathan a man in his thirties always showed up before you. You never knew how since you were there about twenty minutes before everyone got there. Through the window that showed the hallway appeared Nathan talking to another employer. Hands on his hips a stupid sneer on his face, mockingly. What a punchable face. Even if you hated Nathan with every fiber of your being, he was the nicest to you. Frenemies you could say. You mostly thought of him as a human version of Tigger. Him faking his personality just to fit in. You were just content with having one person in the studio that knew your potential.
There were only about four people in your group including you. There were originally five, but a man left outraged by your presence. It was a tough crowd to please. You liked the challenge of it. That's one of the main reasons you stayed to put the boys in their place, and that you knew the ins and outs of the studio. To be honest they needed you. The imaginary plaque displayed with gold trim high and mighty in front of where people first enter. Your smug smirk and name in pretty roman font.
"Why are you wearing Bucky when you're drawing Loki?"
During your daydream, you hadn't noticed Nathan come in with a cup of coffee. His head tilted in interest, watching your madman's hands in a fury sketching as fast as lightning. He set the coffee cup next to the pencil you weren't using and sat down next to you.
"It's the dark long hair and the knives isn't it."
He started to grin, his joke wasn't funny since it was true. You blinked twice and sat your pencil down next to the other one, perfecting it to the right height so they'd be equal. A habit you picked up ever since you learned how to draw. You hesitantly picked up the cup that held your angelic elixir. Dubiously you looked over the cup to set a hard glare at Nathan.
"You poisoned it didn't you."
Nathan pushed a hand to his heart a pained shock expression took over his whole being. If he wasn't such a mediocre artist he'd be a damn good actor. You held the restraint to laugh from how unbearably dramatic he was being.
"Me never! How dare you suggest such a thing."
His eyes narrowed and a smile stretched onto his face as you cut your eyes to him. You took a hesitant sip. He must've poured half a cup of salt into your coffee, you gagged and stuck your tongue out and pointed a finger with wide eyes you choked out.
"You traitor!"
Nathan broke out into laughter and held his sides.
"You're such a fool y/n, every single time you fall for this. Will there ever be a time when you won't?"
You glared at him opening your mouth ready to give him a lecture on how you had a barbarian at home that would tear him to shreds. You were stopped by the two other members coming in.
There was Bob a man who was very heavy and cared more about food than anything else. He was easily the loudest person you've ever met. You never knew someone could grow such a ratty neckbeard, the rest of his face was patchy but still very hairy. You doubted if it was out of taste for facial hair but more of him being lazy and not wanting to shave. If everyone's hatred was geared towards you, they could all collectively agree that they hated Bob too.
Then there was Mathis, he was less loud but still audible about how he disliked you. Mathis and Bob sat across from you but Bob usually was standing which was honestly surprising to you that he did that willingly. He never was a good artist hence the horrible scribbles on the board, he just barked orders about things he didn't know about. Mathis on the other hand was a close runner up to you with artistry, although you had a suspicion that he traced his work. You don't think he ever drew in front of anyone. Bob chewed heavily on some substance you thought it was gum but you swore he never had good breath.
"Has anyone came up with anything, today's the deadline and I'm pretty sure it was, uh, her work we were going to distribute."
You wanted to laugh you'd been working here for over three years and he refused to say your name. Everyone looked at you to see your answer.
"Yeah y/n, you got anything, or are you just a one-trick pony?"
You wanted to punch Nathan in the throat for his input. The cogs in your mind started to run a fifty-yard dash, you were good at making up bull shit. So that's what you did. While you stared directly at Nathan.
"I was thinking since we're always on heroes, that we change our direction of thought. Something not too out of place, but new. What if it consisted of someone who was forced to conceal their powers-"
"Every comic ever."
Bob interrupted and you gritted your teeth as your neck snapped to where he was leaning up against the wall, huffing. You were suppressing the urge to have an argument this early it was bound to happen.
"As you can see you already addressed the familiar part of the idea. Let's get to the new, now the character's mom is-"
As you tried to further explain your thesis on the hero you get interrupted by none other than Nathan.
"What a shocker the girl who likes villains has mommy issues."
A sneer almost made him lose what made him a man along with the others as they laughed. You rolled your neck trying to gather your thoughts to not lose your cool.
"The characters mother was impregnated by a mutant-"
"So daddy issues,"
Your face went red from being caught off guard when you glared at Nathan you promised him to meet the king later tonight. He blinked bashfully and smiled, his face leaning on his fist.
"Let her speak even if she has nothing."
Bob responded with a hint of sarcasm. You let out a breath and closed your eyes.
"Her mother finds out that the father was a mutant and she cuts off all ties to him. She dies giving birth and her child goes into the care of her Grandparents. The Grandparents knew about the child's true form but chooses not to them. Although, when the child finds out about their powers, they kill their Grandparents and go onto a murder spree."
Quiet was booming through the room, no one saying a word. It seemed that everyone was processing what you said carefully, nit-picking everything you said and didn't.
"Isn't that morbid, promoting murder if you will."
Mathis spoke up you nearly forgot he was there from how quiet he was.
"We can put a warning for the readers to be eighteen and over."
He chewed on his lip thinking it over.
"You don't understand, do you? If you put this piece of HEAVILY fiction it will inspire impressionable people no matter the age. I don't know who decided to put you as our main story contributor, but I think that title should be revoked from you."
Excuse him. You have to be joking. Just over a little bit of a week ago, he forces this onto you. The whole group did. No one wanted to have the rights or the responsibility of the backlash of a stupid pitch be onto them. So you being the most hated that's what you got. You thought it was ironic that he wanted to take it back. A way to make you feel ashamed of your ideas, but you could see through all of the games they tried to play. You concluded that you had enough and you called him out for it.
"You did Mathis. You designated this role to me- one that I didn't even want."
You sat forward on the edge of your chair to face him, to look more intimidating. You breathed heavy, the suppressed rage finally coming out.
"I'm sick of you bastards putting me beneath you. I know I'm one of the best artists in this room-, Hell might even the whole studio! And for you to put me down just because of my gender, is bullshit! I'm tired of it and I won't take any more of it. So please if anyone else in this god-forsaken room has any ideas please stand up in front and tell them. I'd be eager to hear your thoughts."
You leaned back in your chair and waited for an answer. Every one of them was shocked by your outburst. Bob slowly chewed on whatever he was chewing and gawked at you. All of them were amazed. Mathis sat with his hands tightly clasped together on the table, his jaw gritted and eyes lit with anger. You could've sworn you saw out of the corner of your eye you had seen Nathan smile. A vibration against your thigh alerted you of a notification.
"I'll think about filling out your idea. For now think of something, less, sin city."
Mathis spoke, venom lacing and falling through the floor. His eyes never leaving yours. It was dumb but you felt as if you'd look away he'd have full dominance over you and nothing you said would mean anything to you. Mathis got up from his chair patted Bob on the chest signaling him to sit down. For the first time in months, the whiteboard wasn't littered with grotesque squabbles.
"Does anyone have any proposals for names?"
After the staring contest between you and Mathis, you fished your phone out of your pocket. Your phone brightness almost blinding you as your read a text from Tom.
“Morning love, it’s a shame that I couldn't wake up next to you, you always look so beautiful in the morning. The hotel's bed is horribly uncomfortable and when I thought of you it seemed to renew its comfort. Which made me reminisce about you. How to acknowledge you for being such a doll. Possibly dinner later this evening would be a fitting way to show my gratitude before I have to go to set. It's a short scene that we have to revise. Hopefully, I can wake up next to you earlier than I can dream. See you soon, darling”
Your cheeks flushed with light pink. This man was going to be the death of you. You were fine with it. What you weren't alright with was Nathan leaning over to your ear and whispering.
"Thanks for getting upset, now we actually have to work."
It was going to a very long day.
All you finished after you left the room was a black and white sketch of Asgard and a couple more arguments. You were to say the less was dissatisfied with how things were currently going. The perpetual doom of failing was a huge black cloud over your head threatening to rain at everything you did. You just wanted to get a buttered croissant and to cuddle up with Tigger. Maybe Tom would be back to normal, as you stood in the longest line imaginable you made a world-renowned discovery. You saw Tom this morning and he said that he didn't go to the hotel. Your anxiety and suspicions grew more as the line felt it grew longer in front of you. You felt panic creep up your neck but never showing on your face, a couple more people in front of you and then there were four. Your breath ran shallow. You smelled the sweet scent of flowers exactly like the ones in your dream. In your state, you hadn't known you were up to order. What? You thought you were in the very back like two seconds ago. Weird. You were about ninety-five percent sure that you were going to check yourself into a psych ward when you got home.
  "Hey, are you okay ma'am?"
The waitress with the deepest green eyes asked you again. You blinked your eyes dumbly, you were beyond confusion at this point.
  "W-what, sorry?"
You stuttered out but you were proud of yourself for managing to get that much out. She painted on a smile even though you thought you were irritating her.
"I asked what your order should be today,"
You looked at the mega watted screen behind her, you knew your order but you just had to make sure there was nothing wrong with it or you might lose it.
"Just a buttered croissant with water please."
You turned to get your money out of your satchel, the waitress didn't have to tell you the amount. If she did say it you didn't hear it, your ears heard nothing but white sound. You found the green monopoly like money and handed it to her. You stopped as you looked at her hand. In the web of her hand, you saw two bite marks that reminded you of the ones on Tom's hand. Well, the fake Tom's.
  "Is something wrong?"
Her eyes dimming in the glow of low lights. Her smile was no longer there but replaced with a furrow in her eyebrows of contemplation.
"Uh, no, sorry."
She nodded and scurried off. You were a wreck and to top it all off you had a date to go on tonight. Wonderful. When she came back it was no more than a few seconds, it felt like she knew your order memorized as you. You brushed it off as a coincidence. That's what you were going to say from here on out everything was just a bizarre coincidence. You put on a shaky smile when you grabbed the rolled-up paper bag and water. Her hands were abnormally cold for it was in the spring-early summer. Your head shook with a shiver and as you left she winked and you nearly ran out of the shop.
On your way home you were paranoid if that word could even hold up the amount of stress you had. When you put your water bottle in your satchel and unrolled the bag. You half thought there was going to be a reenactment of the noodle scene in 'The Lost Boys' You made a mocking face and mouthed "They're only noodles, Michael."
You wanted to cry, you wanted to escape from this hellish dream and live in a cabin with Tigger and normal Tom. Why couldn't things ever be normal? They never were when you were with Tom, but you were in love and love lasts forever until death do us part?
You swallowed your thoughts with addicting buttered bread. You walked up the stairs to your apartment. You wished you would've waited to eat it after walking up so many stairs. You dug out your keys in an attempt to unlock your door. There was no need since it was already unlocked. Such a small thing almost put you into a full-throttled panic attack. You slowly opened the door and hung up your satchel on the coat rack and entered.
You felt sick, too much at a time was happening and you're fixing to explode. You felt comforted when you heard Tiggers meowing and his trot out of your bedroom and him headbutting you. At least the little guy was back to normal, you bent down temporarily to pet him. A king deserves to be pampered every now and then. Human or not. When you stood up the bedroom door was obviously cracked open from Tiggers escape.
You felt somewhat at ease and didn't feel the need to grab a makeshift weapon as you walked down the hall. You knocked on the door just to be safe to make sure Tom you hoped it was, wasn't changing. You were pleasantly met with the standard of him on the bed and the script in his face. He set it down on the night table you noticed a big box and two smaller ones. He met you with a smile and an inviting hug.
"I didn't expect you until later."
You fell into his arms and lap and you shoved your face into his neck. You fought back the urge to cry. Everything was horrible and hellish, but at least normal Tom was back. His arm supported your back and rubbed up and down soothingly, his other was in your hair. You sighed in his embrace, you needed this more than you liked to admit. It was great to have and you'd never deny the offer to be in Tom's arms. One thing did ruin it. The awareness of Tom's shoot being halfway across the city, which made it nearly impossible for him to beat you home. You slowly got up and one of his hands fell on your cheek and the other on your hip. Your brows went together in thought and your lips pursed together. Tom had one of these special tricks where he was one of the best people who knew how to read people. You didn't exactly conceal your feelings but the man could read your thoughts in an instant.
"Darling, what's troubling you? You're going to get frown lines from pouting all the time."
He kissed your forehead lightly, his thumb smoothing the skin that was red from blushing so often. It made it grow worse, his deep blue eyes with a hint of green staring into you with such adoration that would be killing worthy over. You thought it was a better idea to drop all the stuff you've been stressing over and just enjoy Tom at the moment.
"It's nothing important,"
You kissed him shortly an action that was severely missed. He returns with fervor, you cast the same spell on him that he did onto you. Both of his hands now on your hips tightened their grip. A storm of butterflies erupted in your stomach as he pressed himself against you. He ended the war between both of your lips, he kissed your nose.
"I have a gift to give you, and I'm afraid if we don't leave shortly we'll miss the reservation."
He gives your hips one more squeeze before he gets up and retrieves the larger wrapped box from the night table. A green sash wrapped around the deep yellow box. You unwrapped it slowly as Tom watched, you noticed that he had changed into some more formal attire. It gave you a hint and you were right to find a dress that looked more than your life. Your eyes went wide and your mouth gaped open. Tom smiled enjoying your shocked state.
"Do you like it?"
Blinking multiple times and facing the fact that you were going to wear it tonight completely baffled you. You stood up from the bed and gave Tom a hug, his height made him tower over you but he laughed slightly from the surprise hug.
"I noticed it at a kiosk while arriving home and it would be a devastation if I didn't get it for you to wear."
He kissed your head and took it out of the box and the dark green flowed to the floor the trim was littered with yellow, it shone beautifully with the soft glow of the light.
"Won't you try it on darling?"
You took it from his hands the fabric smooth and silky on your skin. You put it on a desk with a mirror on top in front of your closet where you did your makeup. A full-length one next to it. You shed your shoes and socks, you grabbed the ends of your shirt and tossed it towards Tom.
  "You want a show?"
He gritted his jaw and messed with the cuffs of his suit.
"Darling, if you do I'm fearful I might not be able to restrain myself."
You chuckled to yourself. Such a gentlemen all the time. You shimmied your jeans off and with precise hands, you unzipped the dress and carefully put it on. You were under a trance when you swayed back and forth and did a twirl, you couldn't help but be amazed for it to fit you like a glove, you shouldn't be since Tom paid such close attention to everything. When you looked over to Tom his eyes were hooded and he grinned before getting up and walking over. He stood behind you and looked in the mirror when he talked to you.
"May I?"
He gestured to the zipper and you shook your head for him to zip it. His index traced over the zipper it started from the middle of your back and to the end of your neck. He kisses your neck softly and comes behind you pulling you back to his chest. He tucks his head into your neck as you had before. He peppers the expanse with minor pecks everywhere he was able. His arms capturing you, you rested yours over his. Your fingers tracing over the veins on his hands. Your mind didn't silence as it rambled about "which Tom is this?" You couldn't help glance at the web of his right hand. There were no holes. So did you just imagine what happened. So confusing and agitated you let out a huff. Tom took notice and thought he should tell you about his day.
“You’re insatiable darling. I couldn’t get you off my mind all day.”
His voice rumbles against your neck as he starts to sway against your body. You are so in love with him. He had ruined you for any man on this planet or another. You closed your eyes and basked in the feeling of him and his love. He nipped your neck which made you squeal he smiled, checked his watch, and scowled at the time.
"I'm very sorry to rush you but we're due in forty minutes. You already look ravishing my love, but do hurry while I feed Tigger."
He kisses his cheek and you sat down at your desk to do some touch-ups so you don't look completely awful. Before you started you were interrupted by Tom.
"I forgot how silly of me, I have forgotten the rest of your gift."
He grabs a smaller box from the night table and walks over to you, he pockets the other box that was there un-discreetly. He gives you the box and this one was just a plain white box without a sash but it didn't need to be exuberant for what was hidden inside.
"Oh my god, Tom!"

Pairing: Loki x Fem!Reader Warnings: None really. Author’s Note: Finally putting this here. This is 9,770 words, fair warning.
Tumblr media
"Brother, I have news from Asgard!" Thor announced as he marched into the library.
"Shh!"
He was harshly shushed by the both of you. You loved doing that. "This is a library, do try to be quieter, Thor," Loki scolded.
Thor rolled his eyes and said, "Father wants you to find a representative to track your progress here as an Avenger as soon as possible. We're going to Asgard once you do."
Loki silently looked up at his oaf of a brother. He sighed and nodded, "Fine." He would rather not waste his wits responding to his brother, so the simple response would suffice. For now.
You raised a brow and looked over at Loki. Thor spoke again, no more quiet than before, "So who will you choose?"
He took a moment to think, his tongue darted out to lick his lips. You rolled your eyes, he was such a tease. He finally spoke with a smile on his face, "Why don't you be my representative? The others wouldn't want to do it, how about you?"
You thought over that, you'd never been to Asgard before and Loki was your friend. It wouldn't hurt. "Course," she said, "I would love to."
And she did have questions of her own to ask the king.
"Perfect," he said, "Let us prepare then."
~
"Are you ready?" Thor asked you, taking the three of you to the Bifrost site - Stark had it set up because they came and went quite often and he was getting tired of his grass getting destroyed.
You lifted your suitcase and smiled, "Yeah."
The team was lined up to say goodbye. Natasha asked, "So how long will you be gone?"
"Quite a while, actually," Thor said, "We aren't certain. These things, these relationships with my father, can take a lot of time. But we will try and be back as soon as possible."
They nodded and did their hugs and goodbyes. You took your place next to Loki, who wrapped an arm tightly around you. You looked up at him with a raised brow. "Trust me," he said, "You'll want to hold onto me during this."
You did trust him so you decided to just wrap an arm around him and be done with it. Thor raised his hammer and announced, "Heimdall, open the Bifrost!"
The lights came crashing down around you and you gripped Loki tightly, burying your face in his chest. He chuckled lightly, holding you close to him securely. You always thought it would be fun to take the Bifrost, but it was terrifying and you couldn't help but feel like you would be thrown out of it if it misbehaved or something.
"You can open your eyes now," Loki said shortly, slowly letting go of you. You peeked out and quickly adjusted yourself. You were now with your feet planted firmly on the ground and had dignity again.
You cleared your throat, "Thanks."
A large man stood with a sword not far from you. The sword was around your height and it was honestly intimidating.
"Welcome to Asgard, Prince Thor, Prince Loki, and Lady Y/N," he greeted. This must be Heimdall.
"Y/N, this is the gatekeeper, Heimdall," Loki introduced.
Called it.
You smiled and nodded, "Hello, it's wonderful to meet you."
"As it is to meet you," he responded, "The guards have come with your horses."
"Thank you, Good Heimdall," Thor said. Loki lead you over to where the three horses were posted. He asked, "Do you know how to ride?"
You nodded, "Of course, I'm not an animal."
Loki chuckled and you got up to the horses. It seems even they were bigger than normal ones. You were able to get yourself on its back and Loki smiled. He stroked the horses fur and told you, "This is Brenna. She's strong, but she's wary of strangers. Put your hand here."
Loki gently grabbed your hand, placing it slowly and gently on the side of her neck. You pet her softly there and he smiled, "She won't harm you."
You smiled at his tenderness. He pat her calmly and tended to his own horse before mounting his own horse. When Thor saw that you both were ready, he rode out with you and Loki in tow. Loki wanted to stay back with you to make sure you were alright.
He asked over the sound of the horses, "So why did you really want to come?"
You smiled, "Just to represent you, you're my friend."
Loki's smile fell very slightly, but it was quickly recovered, "Ah. Very well, then."
Stupid move, Y/N. He's the God of Lies, he can tell when you're lying.
The truth was, you had your own questions to ask. Over the last couple of years, you'd found out that you were a demi-goddess. Your father had abandoned you as a baby on Midgard and left you at an orphanage. You'd been searching for him since you found out.
You were hoping the King of Asgard had answers.
You'd have to come clean soon or he won't trust you.
You soon came up to the end of the rainbow bridge. The palace was very large and very elegant. Well, gods lived here. It would be strange if it wasn't.
There were guards there who went to meet you. Thor walked in front. He had the most favor so he would lead.
"My prince," the guards greeted. He nodded and they started to lead you all inside.
You unmounted your horse, stroked her fur, and allowed her to be guided over by the horse keeps.
Loki took your side and your suitcase, turning to one of the guards, "Give these to one of the servants and have it placed in the lady's chambers."
He nodded and took the luggage. You, Loki, and Thor were lead into the throne room where an old man sat on a golden throne, guards stationed along the walls.
You could see Loki tense as he walked closer to the King. You watched his gaze shift over and he softened again. You looked to see where he was looking and saw a woman standing tall with a beautiful dress and smile.
That must have been his mother.
When Thor and Loki stopped, you stopped next to them. Thor went to kneel and you could practically feel the internal eye roll Loki made at that. You both knelt before the king.
"Rise," Odin announced.
You stood again and Thor did the speaking, "Father, this is the Midgardian Loki chose to represent him and his time on Earth, the Lady Y/N."
You curtsied after your introduction. When you lived with your adoptive parents, they had signed you up for ballet and you did that for a few years, it was the only reason you knew how to curtsy.
He assessed you as you came back up, standing tall next to Loki. When he finally spoke, he said, "Welcome to Asgard, Lady Y/N of Midgard. I shall hope you enjoy your stay with us. You will join me, my wife, and my sons at dinner tonight so we can discuss business.
You nodded, "Of course, my lord."
"The princes should show you to your chambers where you will be staying," Odin announced. He waved his hand and you all walked away with the guards.
The guards left you with Thor and Loki in the chamber halls. "This place is huge..."
"It is a palace, darling," Loki told you with an amused chuckle. You smiled back and said, "Hey, will we be able to walk through the village sometime while we're here. It would be nice to see how people on Asgard live."
Thor nodded, "Of course, I believe you would have a wonderful time."
You smiled, "Thanks."
Loki sighed, "Dinner will be in a few hours. Before then, make yourself comfortable. If you need either of us, Thor's room is at the end of the hall on the right, I'm on the left. Since you're our personal guest, they put you in the royal chamber hall so you would have quick access to us, should you need it."
You nodded and thanked him. They left to take care of their duties and you stepped inside your chambers. The room was grand and elegant. You felt inferior compared to it - you probably shouldn't have since you were technically half meant to live like this.
The bed spread was gold and black with silk sheets and a big, over-the-top blanket. The drawer was large and the nightstand was too. There were intricate details etched into the furniture and it only added to the beauty of the room.
To go with everything, there was a balcony to her room. It was beautiful and it gave an exquisite view to the kingdom and the wonderful sunset for when it came around. Maybe you could convince one of the boys (preferably Loki, he was your best friend) to take you to see it more personally during your visit here. It really was beautiful.
You took a breath of the fresh, amazingly-scented Asgardian air. The air was so much better here than it was on Earth. It was so much cleaner and was actually scented. It was divine.
You stepped back inside and retreated from the balcony, curious of the door connected to the room. You opened it and were not surprised to see a luxurious bathroom. You stepped inside and saw the golden tub and the grand mirror. You could get used to this.
You went back to the main room and sat down in the soft, comfortable chair. Before you could fall asleep, which you almost did on contact, you grabbed one of your bags from in front of the bed where the maids had put them.
You got out your journal and started writing in it. It was filled with all of the god related things - you were trying to figure out everything you could about gods and demi gods. You had to admit, there was considerably low research on. You didn't hear much of them. In fact, you didn't hear anything of them. It's like they just didn't exist. Everything you knew about them was the basic for-sure facts on Wikipedia.
'I made it to Asgard. I'll be having dinner with the royal family to talk about Loki's progress on Earth. He's doing amazingly well and I see no problem with him.
But that isn't my main reason for coming. Asking Odin about my heritage will have to come after dinner. No one knows about me and I intend to keep a close circle until I know who to trust with this information.
I need to know why my father left me on Earth and why the demigods aren't heard of.'
You closed your journal and set it on your bed before turning to your bags in the room. You got your stuff put away as you settled in. You would be here for a month. After getting everything put away, she headed outside of her bedroom and went to Loki's, knocking on the door three times and waiting for his answer.
He answered the door within second, smiling charmingly at you. He stepped aside to allow you into his room and you graciously accepted his offer, stepping into the room you fully expected to see.
The room was elegant was had dark tones to give it an intimate feel. It was intense, yet calming at the same time. The bed frame was black with a large headboard. The covers were silk and elegantly designed with the colors of green and black with gold trims. The furniture was made with the highest quality wood, also painted black with golden accents. He had a grand bookshelf that nearly took up an entire wall that held a partially organized and partially messy plethora of books.
There was a fur rug at the foot of his bed so soft, she could sleep on it. He had a couple of markings along the top trim of his room - they were probably protective runes. He had them in his room on Midgard as well to keep everyone out.
"I love this room," she sighed, plopping down on one of his chairs and immediately gasping. The chair was the softest velvet, it was magnificent. "I love this chair."
Loki laughed lightly, watching her closely as she was in awe of his chambers. "Thank you, dear," he commented, "I do my best."
"And I love you for it," she commented with her eyes closed, unknowing of the smile that grew on his face and light tinting of his cheeks. He cleared his throat, "Was there something specific you needed, or did you just want to see my room and revel in my chair?"
Your eyes opened and you breathed in, "Oh, yeah. I was going to ask if you could take me to the library."
He chuckled lightly, "Alright, but you should probably change into more Asgardian attire. People will stare."
You rolled your eyes but accepted. He walked with you back to your room, helping you choose an outfit because he knew you didn't have much of an eye for Asgardian attire. He picked out a "casual" gown and made you were it. Emphasis on "made".
"I look ridiculous, Loki," you grumbled as you looked down at the dress, "Why can't I wear jeans?"
Loki rolled his eyes playfully, "On Asgard, we don't do 'jeans'. You look fine."
No matter how much you would fuss, he was right. You looked lovely. The dress seemed like it was made specifically for you.
It was a soft gold - a color you were starting to think was trademarked by Asgard - and powder white. The gown was sleeveless, and the skirt carried down to the top of your feet in a flowy manner. It wasn't over-the-top, but it definitely wasn't considered casual on Earth. A thin, golden ribbon wrapped around your waist and tied in the back - courtesy of Loki and his expert hands.
"Come now, give us a spin," he smiled.
You rolled your eyes and held your arms around beside you, spinning around for him with a heavy sigh. When you turned back around to face him, you grumbled, "There. You happy now?"
"Immensely," he smirked, "Come."
You sighed and grabbed your journal, holding it closely to you. He turned and opened the door for you, dramatically bowing as you walked out of the door with him. He took your hand and looped it through his arm as you both walked.
It managed to get a smile out of you as you walked with him down the winding and seemingly endless halls of the palace. When you reached the library, you found a couple of book you hoped could help you with your research as Loki looked through a couple to read while you were both there.
He glanced at the journal you wrote down notes in and asked, "What's that for?"
You looked up at him and then down to the book, "Oh, just some research I've been working on for a few years."
Dance around the topic. He knows when you're lying.
He lifted a brow, "Quite small for something you've been working on for years."
You shrugged with one arm, "Little information. I was hoping your library would have something."
"What are you researching?" he asked curiously.
You chewed on your lip as you thought quickly, "Just some mythology."
You went back to the books before he could continue to question. He furrowed his brows and returned to his book hesitantly.
An hour later, two maids walked into the library with their hands clasped in front of them and their heads bowed respectively. "Your majesty, my lady, dinner will be finished soon. We were sent to help prepare the Lady Y/N."
You glanced at Loki and he nodded, "Thank you. She will be right there."
The maids curtsied, "Yes, your majesty."
They turned and left after a bow to you. You then let out a quiet groan, "I'm going to go put these up. Back in a sec."
You picked up your books and went to put them back in their places. Loki glanced at your book. You'd marked the page with your pencil, but it flipped open next to him. He glanced at you as you disappeared behind a shelf and glanced at the journal again. He quickly decided whether or not he should see what it was about. You were quote dodgy with it earlier.
A glance wouldn't hurt.
He leaned over and skimmed through the page. "No one knows about me and I intend to keep a close circle until I know who to trust with this information. I need to know why my father left me on Earth and why the demigods-"
He looked away from the journal and closed the book on his hand shut as he heard your feet shuffling around the corner as you complained about the shoes.
He smiled at you and you groaned, picking up your book. "Let's go." You started heading for the door when you turned to see that Loki was staring off into space instead of walking with you.
"Loki, are you coming? I don't know where my room is, you know," you laughed lightly. He shook his head as he returned back to reality, walking after you as he hooked his arm with yours again.
~
After the maids got you ready for dinner - even if you did insist that you could dress yourself - you were met at the door by both princes. You raised a brow and took their offered arms, walking with the brothers to the dining rooms.
You all arrived together and took your seats, sitting in between Thor and Loki. Loki commented on how lovely you looked and you thanked him with a slight roll of your eyes.
You were introduced to Thor's friends, Sif and the Warriors Three. They were rather kind to you, especially Sif who offered to show you around the Asgardian villages while you were there. Fandral hit on you a couple of times, but a few hard looks from Sif, Loki, and Thor and he fixed his antics with friendly makeups.
Dinner went well. Frigga was so kind, she asked questions about how you grew up, how you met the Avengers, what gifts you possessed, and how you met her sons. She was so comforting that Odin's slightly intimidating presence didn't bother you much.
Loki and Thor aided in the conversations as well as held their own with Thor's friends. The Warrior's Three and Thor talked about some of the battles they partook in. Sif would stop them a few times when they got unrealistic so she could correct them and tell what actually happened.
After dinner, Loki offered to take you back to your chambers, but Odin insisted that he needed to speak with you instead. Loki gave you a reassuring look and a "good luck" that stripped away his reassurances.
You walked respectively with Odin for a moment, the walk started out with an intense and highly uncomfortable silence before he finally spoke, "Tell me of Loki's efforts on Midgard."
You nodded, "Well, Loki has been very helpful to the team. He's gone on numerous missions with us and has saved the team more than once. He puts in the effort at redeeming himself every day. The people of Earth have accepted him as a hero. As his representative, I can gladly say that he's pretty redeemed."
"And as his friend?" Odin asked, "What would you saw then?"
You didn't really need to add that part. You'd heard plenty of stories of Odin from both Thor and Loki's point of views, you knew quite a bit of his actions against Loki. You weren't his biggest fan.
As Loki's friend, you'd tell him that it wasn't even Loki's fault and that he should not have needed redemption in the first place. You'd tell him that it was his fault that all of this had happened.
But he was the king, you could not say that.
You replied instead with, "As his friend, I would say the same. He's one of the best individuals I know."
There was a small silence before Odin spoke again, "Good enough to be king?"
You paused, your feet stopping as you glanced at the king. "I'm sorry?" you spoke.
He turned and looked at you, "My time is soon to come and I need an heir to take the throne. Thor was meant to be that person, but he has declined the throne. I invited a representative of Loki here so that I may know if it would be a wise decision to make Loki my new heir."
You stared at him, still shocked. You were shocked that he would choose Loki. You honestly believed that Loki would make a great king, you were shocked because he was actually considering Loki.
"So I ask you again," he said, "Do you believe he is good enough to be the king of Asgard?"
You straightened your spine and gathered your thoughts, forming words slowly, "Yes, I do. He has many leadership qualities that I believe would make him fit to be king. I believe in and support him 100%."
Odin nodded as he considered your answer. "Well then, don't mention this to Loki. I still have decisions to make before I reveal this to anyone else. Good night."
He turned and left promptly without another word, leaving you in the middle of a hall somewhere in the palace.
Where the hell were you?
~
You woke up in your bed the next morning, reluctant to get up. The only reason you were in your bed was because a maid help you to your room last night. You were so comfortable, damn Asgard and their luxury. You got out of the bed with quite a bit of difficulty.
You drew yourself a bath and settled into the water. You sighed as you thought over last night. Odin was trying to make Loki king. You smiled, and sunk under the water.
Holding your breath, you thought under the water. You had barely anymore information than you had before about demigods. You had hoped that the Asgardian library would help, but it didn't seem like it had.
You would need more information, who better than the king to ask?
Literally anyone else.
But you doubted anyone else had any idea. You would ask Odin when you got the chance.
~
A couple days had passed. Loki had begun to noticed Odin's behavior. He seemed distant - more so than usual - as if he was thinking about something.
He found out why later one night after supper. Loki was called before the king. He was hesitant for a moment, but he went nonetheless. Not like he had a choice.
He walked into the throne room, standing his ground as he looked up at Odin, his brow slightly lifted in curiosity. Just as every conversation began with Odin, there was silence settling in the room.
When Odin spoke, his voice strangely a loud boom though hoarse and aged, he told Loki, "I heard of your duties on Midgard and your efforts to fix what you had done. I am impressed with you."
Loki's voice held a pinch of sarcasm, he tried his best to hide it but it seemed Odin could pick up on it either way, "I'm honored."
"Do you know why I summoned you here today?" he questioned.
Loki lifted a brow, "I haven't the slightest idea why you do most things." Loki was quickly chipping away at Odin's nerves already, but he continued nonetheless.
"You know how I intend to make Thor king," Loki rolled his eyes, "And he has refused to take it even to this day. I sent you to Midgard to redeem yourself as a part of the Avengers and, despite your best efforts to seem otherwise, I can see you have changed during your time there. After much thought, I have decided to make you...my heir. I have chosen to make you king when the time comes to pass the throne."
Loki didn't exactly know how to respond to that. He always thought, in order to be the king of Asgard, he'd have to take the throne for himself. But now it was being handed to him on a golden platter. Once it settled, a smile grew on his lips and he laughed, "That's funny. I didn't know you to jest."
It was Odin's turn to raise a brow as he spoke, "You believe me to joke about such matters?"
"How could it not be a joke?" Loki asked, "You've always detested the idea of making me king."
Odin sighed, "Listen to my voice, Loki. Am I lying to you?"
After a moment, Loki realized that there, in fact, was no lie in Odin's words. He was being serious.
Loki was to be the king.
The shock set into his features again, but he was quick to return it to his normal mask. "What a surprise," he stated.
Odin spoke again, "However..."
Loki rolled his eyes. Of course there was a catch.
"If you wish to be king, I only demand one condition."
"Which is?"
Odin seemed slightly amused as he looked down at Loki, "That you find a bride to rule beside you as your queen."
Okay, this was ridiculous. Odin was giving Loki the throne and telling him to marry someone.
"You want me to choose...a bride?" Loki questioned.
"Indeed," he nodded, "Choose a bride to live out your days with and you will be the king of Asgard. Might I suggest one of the noblewomen? Even a princess from another realm?"
Loki narrowed his eyes before a wicked smirk spread across his face. "Oh, of course. A noblewoman."
"Very well. Report back to me when you have chosen a bride to marry. You have until the end of the week," he said.
A week to find a bride? That was rather rushed, wasn't it?
No matter, he already had an idea of who he would be choosing.
~
In the morning, you woke up and got ready for breakfast. When you headed for the door to go to the dining hall, you were met with Loki with his fist raised to the door. He smiled, "Y/N, how are you, love?"
You quirked a brow as you closed the door behind you slowly after stepped out of the room. "Fine, how are you?"
He held his arm out for you and you grabbed it graciously, "I am doing quite well myself. I was meaning to ask you something actually."
"Shoot," you said as you walked with him. His smile grew and your eyes narrowed, "What are you up to?"
"Odin has decided to make me king," he told you. You nodded, "I'm aware, he spoke to me about it the other night and told me not to tell."
Loki sighed and rolled his eyes. "What was that question?" you asked.
His smile returned, "There was a condition set for me in order to receive the throne."
"Let me guess," you chuckled, "He wants you to find an advisor and you chose me?"
He chuckled and scratched the back of his neck, a habit that seemed quite adorable on him for when he became nervous - it very rarely happened.
"Actually...he wants me to find a bride to rule by my side as queen. I was hoping, well..."
You froze at his words and he stopped the two of you, standing in front of you and getting on one knee. He grabbed your hands and smiled, "Y/N Y/L/N, would you become my queen?"
You stared at him in complete and utter shock as he examined your expression. "I..." you spoke, "What?"
He gave you a soft expression and stood again, still facing you as his green eyes gazed into yours, "I have to choose a bride by the end of the week. That gives me a full week to win you over. If I haven't made you fall utterly in love with my by the deadline - which will be quite difficult not to do - then I shall choose one of the noblewomen." He made a face of disinterest and irritation, "Who will take any chance they get to marry a prince and become royalty." His face returned to that soft smile, "What do you say? Do we have a deal?"
You thought it over before sighing and nodding, "Okay. You got yourself a deal, future king."
He smiled brightly at you and you returned it. You had to admit - though this didn't mean you were already falling in love with him - his smile made you smile.
Loki was glad you accepted his offer. He'd never admit it out loud, but he did have some affections for you. If he had to choose a bride - which he did - he'd rather it be you. He'd choose you over anyone.
~
It was the third day of Loki trying to get you to fall in love with him. You didn't exactly know it, nor would you admit it if you did, but you were starting to fall for him. Or maybe there was  a part of you that liked him in that way before. You wouldn't know.
He'd taken you to a private dinner in one of the finest establishments on Asgard that wasn't the palace on that first day.
Now he had ready taken you on a picnic near the forest, followed by a horseback ride through the same forest.
Loki was so charming and kind, he was caring and gentle and his smile had some weird affect on you. It made you feel...strange.
You kept thinking about the deal. If you said yes, then you'd be married to Loki. You would be able to spend every day with him, to live with this kind gentleman. He'd treat you like the queen you would become. If you so wished - you knew it would all be up to you, as he wouldn't use you for his own sake, you would always have a choice - you could even have children with him that would soon be his heirs.
There was a part of you that wanted that. Quote a large part that had your blood flowing, your heart pumping, and your cheeks tinting.
Were you to say no and he would marry a noblewoman who only wanted him for his status. He would be quite unhappy with her, you knew this by the way he acted about even considering marrying one of them. From his description, they were usually dimwitted girls just wanting to be princesses, or even better, the queen.
You would not wish him an unhappy marriage with a girl only interested in his status. The idea of that made your heart flutter - but not in that happy way that had you smiling forever.
There was another reason for Loki choosing you though, even if you didn't know that reason. After finding out of your blood status, he knew you'd be in danger. Half bloods were frowned upon, you would be shunned and banned from Asgard - or worst, killed.
If Loki became king with you as his queen, there was no way anyone would have the authority to kill you. He would have rule, he got to choose what happened from there. You would be safe and he would get to be with you. It was a win-win.
Now on the third day, Loki decided to simply have a picnic with you in the castle gardens. You were more than grateful. He was a perfect gentleman.
There was an amazing spread of too much food and you both got the chance to admire the gorgeous flowers that you'd never seen before. "You really do go all out when you want to make people fall in love with you, huh?"
He dramatically flipped his hair, "Only if they haven't already fallen head over heals, darling."
You laughed, sitting next to him as you continued to talk. After a while, you sighed as you looked up at him. You asked slowly, "Loki...why me? You could have had anyone - another princess! - and you chose me. Why?"
He wanted to tell you, but he wasn't even sure if he was absolutely positive that he absolutely loved you, or even if you loved him yet - or if you even would.
He place a finger under your chin and lifted it so you would look at him more. He smiled as he told you, "Because you're a Midgardian, and I want to piss off my father."
You stared back at him, unamused as you quirked a brow. You rolled your eyes and shook your head with a small smile as you went to turn away from him before you could lose yourself in the green eyes you found yourself being taken by lately.
But as you went to turn away, Loki's grip on your chin stayed firm as he looked back at you. His eyes were soft, they looked like liquid emeralds - if emeralds could melt.
If this was his method of making you fell in love with him, you were almost ashamed to say it was working.
In truth, however, Loki had just become distracted by the beauty in your features. He hadn't realized he had gazed at you for so long. He didn't realize he'd turned his attention from your eyes to your lips so often.
He wanted to just lean in and kiss you.
You brought your lip between your teeth, chewing on it absent-mindedly as you looked back. His hold on you gave you shameless time to appreciate just how handsome Loki was.
His hair was slick without grease as it always was, styled to perfection. His cheekbones were sharp and, usually pale, they were tinted a very light pink.
His lips were so kissable the more you stared at them. His eyes, those beautiful eyes, were so soft as they gazed into yours. They were the most magical eyes you dared to stare into.
When you heard the tapping of heels - and more than one pair - you went to pull away finally before you were caught in this intimate moment with Loki. However, Loki had a different call.
He smoothed his hand onto the side of your face and pulled your closer, finally allowing himself to kiss you as his hand supported the back of your neck.
For a moment, you were quite shocked and surprised but you melted in the kiss too quickly for you to be okay with. Loki smiled as he went to pull you closer, but a - kind - voice prevented that.
"Alright, you two lovebirds," Queen Frigga spoke with a small chuckle, followed by the giggles of her hand maidens. Loki pulled away, looking up at his mother with very little shame in his features. If anything, he was quite proud of himself. If you were mad, you could just slap him. He wouldn't be angry with you.
You, on the other hand, were trying to compose yourself as you blushed furiously, looking at the ground. "Hello, Mother," Loki greeted her, "how are you?"
"Quite well, my son," she smiled at him, kissing his cheek before walking away with a little, "You both are lovely together."
Your blush got worse.
Now that they were gone, you turned on Loki, "Really? Was that necessary"
He gave her a soft smile, "Forgive me, my dear. However, I do recall you kissing me back."
You pursed your lips and looked away, "Warn me next time."
Next time?

By the end of the week, you were so shamefully aware of it now.
You were in love with Loki of Asgard.
Before dinner, as he came to your door to escort you to the dining hall, he stopped you again. He gave you that charming smile of his as he bent on one knee, this time pressing a small black box in yours hands as he asked you the question.
"It's the end of the week now. I would hope my charm worked because I really did do my best. My dear, I do genuinely care for you, and I hope you care for me to. Even if you do say no, I just want you to know that I will still be here as your close friend whenever you shall need me. And if you say yes, I will provide you with the best life you could possibly imagine and treat you like the queen you are. Will you, Y/N Y/L/N, marry me and become my wife?"
You smiled and blushed, you didn't mean to smile or blush. Damn it, you fell in love with him in a week. Or maybe you just fell more in love with him. You still didn't know.
You smiled and licked your lips as you nodded," Yes, Loki. Yes, I'll marry you."
He smiled happily, his eyes lighting up as he stood and picked you up, swinging you around as you giggled. He set you on your feet, taking the box and opening it as he presented the ring to you, slipping it on your finger.
It was beautiful, a gold band with an emerald jewel set in it. It had engraved designs set into the band as well, the inside of the ring read in small engravings "in the middle of my chaos, there was you". The only explanation for how he fit all of that was magic.
He was such a romantic.
He pulled you into a hug and slowly pulled back. His eyes caught yours and you were gazing at one another once again. This time it was your turn to make the move.
You pulled him in as you kissed him deeply. How great this kiss was. You smiled as he pulled your even closer still. He pulled back at some point, being reminded of dinner.
He opened his mouth to say something, as you listened closely as his mouth shaped for an "I" sound. However, what he said was nothing of the sort. "Let's get to dinner, shall we?"
You sighed and nodded, taking his arm as he led you to the dining hall where most everyone was waiting to start dinner. Once you arrived, you took your seats together and the feast began.
After a while of talking and eating, Loki cleared his throat and began speaking, "I have an announcement to make."
All eyes fell on him and his smile grew as he glanced at you before his eyes settled on Odin. "I have chosen a bride to wed, and she had said yes."
Even if most of the people at the table were shocked to hear about Loki's bride, they applauded him with smiles and cheers. Odin spoke, seemingly unphased, "Wonderful. Who is this bride of yours?"
He turned to you and smiled, "Y/N of Midgard."
Odon froze entirely, his expression hardening. "When I suggested you to choose a bride from another realm, I did not mean Midgard."
"And what is so wrong with the people of Midgard? With my wife-to-be?" Loki asked. You could tell he was enjoying stirring up his mischief.
Odin sighed. Everyone at the table knew he didn't like the idea of a Midgardian woman sitting on the throne of Asgard. Nonetheless, he sighed and nodded. He did say to choose a bride, he wasn't specific. Loki did just that.
Frigga, on the other hand, was ecstatic. She was so happy that her son was finally finding some happiness for himself. She had already known you'd be perfect for him, she could sense both of your smitten for each other from a mile away.
"Congratulations, my son," she beamed. "When will the wedding take place?"
"Next week," Odin interrupted.
The servants paled.
"The marriage will take place next week and the coronation of Loki will be the week after that," he specified. The servants looked like they would faint. They wished they would have more time to plan everything. Frigga's gracious help, at least, would be provided.
You were already getting nervous.
~
Now it was time for the wedding. You had been going through dress rehearsals, royalty lessons, and so much more to get ready for being wed to Loki. There was so much going on, it was slightly overwhelming.
You were really beginning to stress as the maids dressed you in your wedding gown until there was a knock at the door. One of the maidens checked the door and let in the people on the other side.
Your eyes almost popped out of your head as you saw who was on the other side. "Wanda! Nat! Thank gods you're here! I didn't even know you were coming!"
They hugged you. "Neither did we? Thor came by yesterday and brought the whole team here this morning for your wedding that we only just learned about," Natasha explained.
"You're marrying Loki?" Wanda asked.
You nodded as you sighed, "Yeah. So much happened in the time I was here. I did not plan on getting married but here we are."
"We all knew you were close, but I didn't know you were that close," Natasha pointed out.
"Neither did I," you sighed heavily. "I just..."
Wanda took your hand, "Do you love him?"
The maidens continued to work around her, tending to the dress as they tried to seem like they weren't listening. The maids knew everything that went around in the palace, this was one of the reasons.
"I..." you blushed again as you thought. You honestly had fallen for Loki, and you fell rather quickly. You sighed as you nodded, "Yeah... I think so."
"So how did it even happen?" Natasha asked. You sighed as you told them to sit down. This was going to be quite the recap.
~
You were nervous. So very nervous. In a few minutes, you were supposed to walk down the very long isle of the throne room that was filled to the brim with people from all over the realms to see the royal wedding of Loki of Asgard. It was a big deal.
You held the bouquet of flowers tightly in your hands to keep yourself from wringing your hands out at your sides instead. You just needed to breathe. It will all be fine, it will be over soon. Everything would be fine.
"Do you love him?"
You thought over the question ringing in your head once again. The answer? Yes. Yes, you did. You really did love him. You didn't expect to fall as quickly as you did - though you would have said yes even if you'd fallen slower, you didn't want him to get stuck with someone who couldn't care less about him. You'd rather marry your best friend than leave him to be married with someone who didn't care about him. You wanted to see him happy.
But you actually, truly fell in love. It felt like a mistake, but you weren't sure it was. But you loved him right? It would be fine.
Just as you were calming yourself down, the music started and your nerves skyrocketed again. "My lady? It's time to go on," one of the maidens told you. You thanked her kindly and took a deep breath, nodding to the guards.
They opened the doors wide to reveal you in your dress. The maidens behind you were carrying the long train behind you.
Yep, definitely people from every realm. The already huge room was filled. But it would all be fine, right? Your sweaty palms said otherwise.
You got your cue to begin walking down the isle and you did, walking to the beat of the song like you'd been practicing with Frigga. You were so close to chickening out until you saw Loki.
Boy, was he beautiful.
He wore a full ensemble. His traditional, formal armour with his helmet. His hair rather fluffy curled out of the bottom of his helmet. He was turned toward you, his jaw dropped slightly as he took in your appearance in your white dress. All eyes were on you.
But only his mattered.
They watered, from what you could see at least, as he looked at you. Your expression softened and you smiled, looking back at him with teary eyes.
After a long walk down the isle, you finally reached Loki. You stood in front of him and he whispered to you, "You look absolutely beautiful, my love."
You blushed more as a tear rolled down your cheek. He wiped it away and the ceremony began as Frigga began talking, rather than Odin. As the king, he was the one to officiate the wedding. But as the queen, Frigga had just as much power to and probably insisted. This made Loki even happier.
Whenever you began to get nervous again, your worries were wished away by the sparkling eyes Loki gazed at you with. You found ultimate comfort knowing that Loki would be there for you whenever you needed him, just as he promised.
Everything would be perfectly fine, as long as Loki was by your side.
The ceremonial speech was long. But the most important words soon came: "Lady Y/N of Midgard, do you take Loki to be your husband?" Frigga asked.
You took a deep breath in and smiled, "I do."
"And Prince Loki of Asgard, do you take Y/N to be your wife?"
He nodded, a tear slipping down his cheek, against his best efforts to stop it, "I do."
Frigga smile happily, "Then by the power vested in me, given by the great gods of Asgard, I now pronounce you god and wife, you may kiss the bride."
You threw your arms around his neck as you pulled him down slightly and his arms wrapped around your waist as he bent his head down to kiss you deeply. This kiss was unlike the other two, it was sure, it was passionate, it was loving.
It was loving.
Yeah, everything would be okay.
~
Then came to coronation that had even more people arriving. At least this time you were in the spotlight. As Loki's new wife, you would become the queen when he became king. It was now Loki's time to have all of the shine to himself. It was his coronation day.
Despite what you thought, Loki was nervous. As you were helping him get ready, he was expressing his concerns. "What if I mess something up? I want to rule Asgard the right way, but what if everything I thought was right ends up blowing up in my face. It's happened before. I-"
"Loki, look at me," you told him as you stopped what you were doing. You made him look down at you as you told him sincerely, "I have spent these past years with you as my friend and now as my husband. If I have learned anything over the course of that, this is what it was: you will make a great king. The fact that you are worried about not having a just reign is what reinforces that fact. Now there are people out there who doubt you, and those who will continue to doubt you, but guess what? They don't matter. You'll just have to go out there and do what you were meant to. Be a great king. Don't change yourself for anyone else and don't be beaten down when someone tells you you're wrong. You'll be one of the greatest kings of Asgard, I know it. Everything will work out, and I will be here by your side at all times to help you whenever you need it. Alright?"
He softened as he listened to your words, bending down to kiss you gently. You smile and told him, "I believe in you."
"I know," he smiled, "And I'm grateful for that."
You continued helping him with his armour for his coronation. When a knock came at the door, it was Thor coming to tell you both that it was almost time to head over. You smiled at Loki and kissed his again, picking up his helmet and placing it on his head. "You'll do amazingly."
He smiled and nodded. You walked with him after Thor, headed to the throne room where the coronation was taking place. The music started as soon as Loki gave the clue and you walked with him down the isle to the throne where Odin stood as the crowds cheered for him. Some, though, gave a few dirty looks in the direction of both you and Loki. You were still of Midgard...
Nevertheless, their stares didn't matter. You were with Loki, everything would be alright as long ad you were with Loki.
You kissed his cheek and moved to stand next to Frigga, who kissed your forehead. Loki knelt on one knee before Odin, as he was meant to do for the coronation.
Odin raised his staff, Gungnir, and struck it on the ground with a deafening boom. The crowd fell silent. Odin spoke with quiet, effortless authority as he rose Gungnir before him. "Gungnir. Its aim is true, it's power strong. With it I have defended Asgard and the lives of the innocent across the Nine Realms since the time of the Great Beginning. And though the day has come for a new king to wield his own weapon - that duty remains the same. Loki Odin son, my son."
Loki's eyes flickered st the last part, but he didn't let it deter his big day. "From a boy, you were entrusted with the magic of your mother. Training for so long to be worthy of such a gift. It could be used as a weapon to destroy, or as a force to create."
Loki seemed to straighten as innocent pride filled him. "Today I entrust you with the greatest honor in all the Nine Realms: the sacred throne of Asgard. I have sacrificed much to achieve peace. So, too, must a new generation sacrifice to maintain that peace. Responsibility, duty, honor. These are not merely virtues to which we must aspire. They are essential to every soldier and to every king."
Loki's gaze shifted over to you momentarily and you gave him a smile and a nod. He returned the smile and looked back at Odin. "Loki Odinson, do you swear to guard the Nine Realms?"
Loki nodded and spoke in his smooth voice, "I swear."
"Do you swear to preserve the peace?"
Again, Loki nodded, only this time with a smile, "I swear."
"Do you swear to cast aside all selfish ambition and pledge yourself only to the good of all the Realms?" Odin asked.
Without hesitation and with a proud grin, Loki nodded, "I swear."
"Then on this day, I, Odin Allfather, proclaim you Loki, King of Asgard!"
The crowds cheered deafeningly loud. Loki smiled widely, his eyes gluing to you as they shine brightly. Thor clapped you on your back with pride as he cheered next to you. Loki eyed him for a split second, but he would wait to get onto his brother for being so rough with you.
He stood and turned to the crowds cheering for him, his arms held wide as if to summon more praise. It was his big day, he would milk it for what it's worth.
He held out his hand for you and you smile as you walked over to take it. He pulled you into his side, kissing your hairline as he continued to collect praise from his subjects. He bent down and said to you, "You're the queen now."
You smiled as you looked up at him, "I know."
"Wave to your new subjects," he offered. You rolled your eyes and laughed as you lifted your hand and began waving to the people, who were now your people. You were the Queen of Asgard now. They cheered somehow louder as you waved.
"They love you," he smiled.
You nodded, "I'm sure they do."
~
Some time passed and the royal duties you and Loki had were quick to find you. To your relief, Frigga helped you take care of your new duties. Loki seemed to have his under control - though he did have Thor's help when he needed it.
When you found a moment's rest with Loki, it was because you were both headed to bed. It had been another long day of duties and chores, you were ready to relax with your husband.
Loki was getting the bed ready, folding the covers over for when you finally came to bed. You sat in one of the luxurious chairs in the room. When you and Loki married, you moved into his room. Needless to say, you were always comfortable.
You had your journal in your hands as you read through it. You hadn't looked through it in a while. With all the excitement going around, you hadn't really had the time to go back to it.
Loki looked up at you, glancing at the book, "Love, are you coming to bed?" You looked up at him and nodded a little before turning your attention back to the book.
You bit your lip as you asked, "Hey, Loki, what do you know about...demigods? I meant to ask Odin, but never really found the time."
He sighed and sat down on the bed, you looked up at him carefully. "What? Is there something wrong?" you asked.
He shook his head and patted the spot next to him. You moved over to him and sat down, his arm wrapping around your waist as he started slowly, "I know."
"Know what?"
"About your heritage. I know that you're a demigoddess," he told you.
"How did you find out?" you questioned.
"I saw in your journal. I didn't mean to spy, I just glanced at it. But listen to me," he told you, "It is important that you never tell Odin that you are a halfblood. In fact, very few people should know. Most people are adverse to them because they're thought of as tinted or dirty blood. The worst case scenario is that you would be killed simply for being."
He looked down at you sadly, "It's one of the reasons I chose you, to protect you. Since I am now king and you are queen, I can offer you my protection against those who disprove of demigods. They cannot harm you. Alright?"
You sighed and nodded, "Okay.... Do you know what happened to my parents? Why my father left me?"
Loki once again nodded and let out a sigh, "I do, I did some digging on it once I found out. Your father was an Asgardian god, your mother was human. They fell in love and she had his child: you. She died giving birth to you."
"Is that why he left me?" you asked quietly. Loki grabbed your chin so you looked back up and him and shook his head gently, "Heavens no. Your father loved you; before you were born, he vowed to always keep you safe. But shortly after your mother died, guards were sent to take your father and charge him with treason and to...eliminate the child. So he left you at an orphanage and ran to keep you safe. He always meant to return to you, but..."
"But what?" you asked.
Loki sighed and hesitantly spoke, "Your father was labeled a criminal. There was a large debt of money on his head for his death. Some mercenaries...killed him a few years back. He was weak from having lost so much power, he'd spent the last of it to place protection on you."
You looked down at your hands, "That must have been around the time my powers really kicked in and got stronger..."
You sighed heavily. At least you knew now. You knew the reason you were left on Midgard. You weren't abandoned by your father because he didn't love you.
You looked up at Loki and gave a smile that eased his concerns, "Thank you for telling me."
"Of course, my love," he smiled.
You finally decided to go to bed shortly after. Loki held you close to his chest as you allowed him to. But something was bugging you and you wouldn't be able to sleep if you didn't figure it out.
"Loki..." you spoke quietly.
He hummed his response.
"Why me? I know you told me before but...why?" you asked nervously.
Loki kissed your forehead and tilted your head up to look at him. "You want to know why I chose you as my representative. Why I chose you to be my wife. To be my queen."
You nodded. He sighed and smiled softly, nervously, "I chose you because... I... I love you, Y/N. I have loved you for quite some time. I was afraid to tell you, afraid how you might react. I wanted to hear it from you first but... I couldn't wait any longer for you to know how I felt about you-"
You cut him off with a kiss, pulling his head down to kiss him deeply. Hearing those words coming from him made your heart feel light and fluttery and warm and fuzzy at the same time. Your hands desperately intertwined in his hair as you kissed him.
When you pulled away for air, he admitted again, "I love you."
Again you kissed him, this time briefly, before admitting your own confession, "I love you too, Loki."
He smiled and you joined it. "I love you. I think I loved you before and that week you spent trying to make me fall for you only made me fall more. Whatever it was, whenever it happened, I love you. Marrying you wasn't just for you, it was for me to.. I married you because I knew you would treat me as though you loved me, even if you didn't love me like that. You would be my best, closest friend and my good lover. I want to spend my life with you, Loki. Because I love you."
He kissed you again, a long, slow kiss that had you flying over Asgard's moons. He pulled back after a while and spoke, "I love you." You smiled.
As long as you were with Loki, everything would be perfect.
