A Better Father (Loki X Stark!Son!Reader) *PARENTAL
Characters: Loki X Stark!Son!Reader
Universe: Marvel, Avengers
Warnings: Parental negligence, bad relationship with parent, mention of drugs and underage drinking
Request: could you do a tony x son!reader, in their live, tony was always cold to him (but eventually take him in with pepper) and then Peter Parker show up and take that away, Loki see him in reader (like with odin and how he treat Loki and Thor) and decide to adopt him, teach him magic, reader happy again 😊.
Notes: I wrote this and completely forgot it's meant to be male!reader until it came time to post- I think I've corrected it, but if you spot I've accidentally used the wrong pronouns please let me know so I can fix it. Thanks!

“I’m going out!” You announced, already at the front door, pulling your shoes on and your jacket, before grabbing your bag, hand on the door handle before you got a response.
“Where to?” Pepper asked, rounding the corner, arms crossed.
“My friend is doing a school project and wants my help with it.” You excused yourself, being careful not to go into any details.
“Do you need a ride?” She asked.
“No, it’s okay, there’s a bus that takes me right outside their apartment. I don’t know how long I’ll be, since we have a lot to do, if it gets late I’ll call you to let you know I’m okay and I’ll stay over, is that okay?” You asked her. Pepper walked a little closer, her expression clearly troubled.
“I’ll have to ask your father…” She commented, and your shoulders slumped, you turning to face her.
“You know he’s not going to care, Peps. In fact, I’m going to predict what he’s going to say, something along the lines of ‘yeah, yeah, whatever’.” You mimicked, Pepper frowning, knowing you were right. “I appreciate you actually trying to make up for him, I really do. It’s why I go to you instead of him for permission- because you actually care. Please don’t waste your breath. If he actually wants to know what his son is doing, he’ll do it himself.” You pointed out.
“I know… he should be better, and I want him to be better for you… and I also know you’re lying to me.” She pointed out. You felt your heart drop into your ass, and you sighed. “I told Peter about one of your prior projects with friends, and he looked into it- wanting to see if he could help as well, but then found out that your friend doesn’t even exist.”
“Has he told Tony?” You asked.
“No. He hasn’t. I made him promise to wait, told him I’d deal with it.” She explained. “Peter also cares about you, even if he doesn’t have much time to actually spend time with you.” She pointed out, and you just nodded. You’d accepted that even though Peter was Tony’s favourite despite not actually being his kid, when Peter got an idea od the dynamic between you and your father, he tried his hardest not to play into it or make it worst, though he often realised after events that he actually had and had not realised it. He always apologised for it, always tried to spend time with you in school, and on more than one occasion, he’d covered for you or even claimed something you did that your dad didn’t like was his idea, knowing Tony wouldn’t punish him and it would stop your relationship with your dad somehow getting worse. You appreciated him, he was like a brother in a way, and at this point, more like family than your dad, like how Pepper was more of a parent than Tony was, despite you not being related either. Same with Happy. Same with…
“I’m sorry for lying to you. And Peter… I just…” You fumbled.
“What’s going on, Y/N? Where are you going?” She asked, her voice soft and welcoming, a silent promise that no matter what, she wasn’t going to yell, turn on you, that she actually cares and just wants to be there for you.
“I’ve been going to meet someone… not romantically or anything!” You told her quickly. “I’m not doing drugs or anything like that either.”
“That’s good, so you’re being responsible with this person… why have you been hiding this person from us then?” She asked. You thought for a second on how to break the news, and in that time, Pepper started to pry a little more. “Are they… older?” She asked. You nodded. “So not a teenager? Out of school?” She asked, and you nodded again. “How old are they?” She asked, tilting her head. Another hard question, and you bit your lip, and sensing you weren’t confident answering, she changed her question. “What do you two do? It’s not illegal, so what’s so bad you have to hide it?” She asked.
“He’s… mentoring me.” You told her.
“Oh, so he’s like a professor? A teacher? What’s he teaching you?” She asked with a smile, seemingly suddenly relieved, getting the idea that you were getting one on one lessons for something you were interested in as a future career, and she was ready to support you from the jump.
“Magic. He’s teaching me magic.” You admitted, which made Pepper’s eyebrows press together. “And not the cut a woman in half or pull a rabbit out of a hat kind of magic.” You clarified, and she had a moment of realisation.
“I know two people who know magic. One is Strange, who your father gets along with and so learning from him wouldn’t be a problem, which means… Loki? You’re going to see Loki? He’s teaching you magic?” She asked, and you nodded.
“Please don’t tell Tony! I promise, Loki’s been nothing but kind to me! When we’re not doing magic, we just read books together- or go on walks or stuff!” You explained.
“What kind of magic?” She demanded.
“How to teleport, how to create an illusion, today he’s teaching me a spell that translates both written and spoken languages!” You explained to her. “He said for a treat for my birthday he’s going to teach me a spell that lets me understand animals because apparently what they say is really funny and cute and he thinks I’ll like it.” You explained to her. She clearly wasn’t convinced, and you sighed. “We do other stuff to.” You told her.
“Like what?” She asked.
“You know when Tony’s in a bad mood or I do something he doesn’t like and we get into an argument and I go for a walk to cool off and don’t come back for hours? Loki walks with me. He makes sure I don’t do anything stupid… I feel so safe with him, that I feel comfortable and safe enough to actually cry.” You admitted. You watched Pepper’s concerned expression fall. You never cried- at least not at home. Not at school either, according to Peter. You didn’t cry in front of her, or Peter, or Happy, and sure as hell never in front of Tony, no matter what he said or did. “And he knows what I need when I cry. He hugs me, he just lets me cry, he doesn’t shush me or try to make me stop. If anything bad happens, I go to him first. Like when I went to that party last month and got wasted and realised I didn’t know how to get home- you and dad thought I left with a stranger and stayed with someone who I didn’t know and then came home when sober- instead I called Loki and he looked after me during the night, he rubbed my back when I threw up, hugged me and promised it was gonna be okay when I was crying, he made this really nice tea which instantly made my hangover go away, and promised if this ever happened again he’d do it all over again, and then he took me home when I felt well enough.” You admitted to her.
“Where do you two hang out, usually?” She asked.
“He has a little apartment, there’s probably a hefty amount of magic to make it so the other tenants can’t notice the door to it since it defies the floor plan of the entire building, but it’s so cozy, and warm and I have my own bedroom there- which is where I go whenever I have any ‘sleepovers’, though I do make him watch movies, especially bad ones.” You laughed. It felt so good to finally be able to talk about this- about everything you and Loki did, because time with Loki was your happy time.
“Okay… I have two questions.” She said, and you nodded, gulping. “Why…Loki? If you wanted to learn magic, why not go to Strange, and why is Loki so willing and…” She didn’t say the word, but you knew what she wanted to say. Fatherly.
“Because when he looks at me, he sees himself.” You admitted. “He told me himself… Loki didn’t have a good relationship either with his father. Thor's the golden child, Loki was the one pushed to the back, forgotten. He knows how it feels to be unwanted, to not be thought of by the person who is supposed to love you. He knows how it feels to want to be loved and no matter how hard you try, not getting it, because in your dad’s eyes, you’re not worth it. He sees me, and he sees his own childhood, and he hates that, so… he decided to do something about it.” You explained to her. “Loki… Loki’s like a dad to me. He certainly acts more like one than Tony.” You pointed out. Pepper looked devastated, but understood. “What was your other question?”
“Inevitably, Tony’s going to find out about this. I won’t tell him, I’ll feign ignorance, but Peter’s going to find out somehow, and you know that even if he wants to protect you, that boy can’t keep a secret to save his life, especially from Tony.” She pointed out. “What’s your game plan for when he finds out?” She asked.
“I’ve already got that figured out.” You reassured her. “Loki set up the bedroom for me for the worst case scenario… I graduate next year. I’ll graduate, start going to college, and I’m going to move out and live with Loki- he might move his apartment to be closer to whatever college I want to go to. If he doesn’t know by then, I’ll tell him I just have a roommate and we know he’s not going to come and visit, and after college, I’ll just slowly drop contact, keep my distance, away from him, happy, learning magic, living my own life. I’ll come visit you and Peter and Happy, regular phone calls, if you need me, call me and I’ll be there… and if Tony finds out before then? I’ll go anyway. I’ll be okay, no matter what. Loki has my back.”
“...And so do I.” She added. You two stared at each other. You weren’t sure what she was thinking, what exactly she was going to do. Ban you from seeing Loki? Tell your father? Treat you like a criminal and monster even if you’ve done nothing wrong? Be locked away? Somehow become even more of an outcast? Lose the few people you actually consider family? Lose Loki? “I won’t keep you waiting. Keep me updated on what you’re doing, if you want to stay the night let me know, okay? I’ll tell Peter something that is easier to swallow and then we’ll tell him the full truth after you graduate. I’ll explain to Happy, maybe he can also help you… please just… don’t do anything stupid. Behave. No more secrets from me, okay?” She asked.
“Okay. Thank you.” You told her, nodding with a grin. “I love you, I’ll see you tomorrow!” You told her, finally opening the door and dashing out. Pepper sighed, wondering what she was going to tell Peter to help keep in calm and not accidentally tell Tony, how she was going to get Happy to go along with this, how she’s going to look Tony in the eyes and feign ignorance, lie to his face about where his son is and who he's with. But then she remembered every time she could recall when she would come to Tony’s place and find you home alone when you were a young child, thinking it was normal, how you used to try to get his attention and him brush you off or even yell at you to go away and then slowly stop trying and instead go to her and Happy who actually cared. She remembered how utterly overjoyed you were when your dad actually came to your birthday after he was kidnapped, seeming to realise how precious life was and wanted to make up for lost time, and things were going well until Peter came into the picture, and he lost his way, his sole focus being Peter, you once again forgotten and neglected. Except this time you weren’t upset, just disappointed. You gave up on him, and instead adjusted, adapted, and found a new family. Pepper was your new mother, Peter was your brother, Happy your uncle, and Loki was your new, and much better father. You were making up for lost time with someone who actually cared and wanted you as a son. If Tony had a problem about it, he should have done something about it a long, long time ago.
You arrived at the apartment complex not long after leaving, heading up to the top floor, going to the door at the end of the hallway and letting yourself in. Loki peeked up from the book he was reading and smiled. “There you are, had me worried.” He joked. You sighed as you kicked your shoes off, dumping your bag on the floor and hanging up your coat. Your lack of an immediate response was weird for Loki, and he placed the book down, standing from the settee, and stepping closer to you. “What happened?” He asked softly, locking his hands behind himself. You turned to look at him finally.
“Is it that obvious?” You asked, and he smiled sadly. “...Pepper knows. She’s covering for me, so I guess she’s okay with it, it’s just… what if Tony finds out and massively blows everything out of proportion?” You explained to him.
“Well…” Loki crossed his arms, thinking. “Knowing you, your first thought is to run and start afresh.” He pointed out, and you nodded. “Or… I could talk to Thor. You and Pepper and him talk to the others, explain everything, we lay everything out, and then we tell your father. No secrets and being honest might work more in our favor than just upping and leaving, Y/N.” He pointed out. You squinted at him with suspicion.
“Aren’t you supposed to be the God of Mischief and Lies?” You asked, making him crack a smile.
“I may be, but it means I also know when’s a good time to actually tell the truth, and I think this might be the time. Pepper knows, she has your back, Thor is, as you describe it, a loyal labrador and will be happy I’m behaving, those two alone can be the brains and the brawl to help keep the situation under control.” He reassured you.
“Okay, if you think so… but can we do that tomorrow? I want to learn that spell so I can finally read your Asguardian books.” You begged, making him chuckle.
“Of course we can, go make some tea, then we’ll start.”
Hope you like it! If you have any questions, please send them in!

Heyyy
I was wondering if you could try a Loki x reader fic? All my ideas are super cliche and cheesy angst, like he gets nightmares or you get kidnapped or something dumb like that. So if you have any ideas, please feel free to just write whatever - I love your writing, and your last story was incredible :)
I need A Favor
Summary: you ask Loki to help you out with a problem at school
paring: Loki x stark!reader
Warning: School ya know cause it sucks
Tumblr media
"I need a favor," you said as you place a clear glass on the counter. Loki looked up from their book. They and Tiny-Iron, as he likes to call you, haven't spent too much time together. and that is mainly your father's fault as you enjoyed playing pranks and introducing you to Loki would just make everyone's life miserable.
"What can I do for you child?" they said as they place their book down on the table. "I'm going to explain a hypothetical scenario and you tell me whether or not you can help out in that situation. okay?" you said as you filled up your glass with water. "I'm all ears," Loki said as they leaned back and put their hands behind their hand.
"Okay so Hypothetically, someone got into trouble at school. not immediate trouble that has to get fixed. but, they need to talk to your parents by the end of the week about it trouble. " you said as you moved to the seat opposite the couch. "All hypothetically of course," Loki said still giving you their full attention. "Correct, and let's say the person can't get in trouble with their parents again, or else they won't be able to work on a certain suit project they have been working on." You said as you took a sip of water.
"Well that's no good."" Loki responded as they sat up, intrigued about where this conversation is going. "Agreed, and I heard that you are a person of many talents," you said sending a smile to the god. "I have been told that. What talent, in particular, are we talking about?" Loki responded. "The one where you look like other people," you said with a straight face. "I assume this person would of course want me to look like their parent so the actual parent never finds out?" they said, keeping their eye on you. "You are correct, hypothetically." you responded.
"in this hypothetical situation, hasn't the school already called the parent to let them know about this meeting?" Loki said as they raised an eyebrow. "Oh god no. The kid is smart enough to put down a fake number for contacting home" you responded with a smirk. "I already like this hypothetical child," Loki responded back.
"So would you be able to help out with this situation, hypothetically?" you asked Loki with puppy eyes. Loki took a breath before looking at you.
"Just to clarify, you want me to change my appearance to your father so I can go in and talk to the school so your real father doesn't know and you don't get in trouble. correct?"
"Yes"
"Not Happening."
"I'll give you $50"
"Deal."

*Loki and Sylvie arguing*
*Y/n Lokidóttir just looking at both of them annoyed*
Y/n: Alright! That's ENOUGH!
*Y/n yells pushing the two loki's away from each other as her hands glow green from her magic forcing them apart*
Y/n: Dad, Mom! This arguing isn't going to get us off this damn planet and blaming each other not helping either so would both of you learn to be civilized!
*Y/n huffs from pouring her anger out like that while her father and Sylvie were in shock by the teenager anger*
*Sylvie was mainly shocked that Y/n called her "Mom"*
Sylvie:...
Loki:...
Sylvie: Did you just call me m-mom?...
*Sylvie covers her mouth trying not to smile*
Y/n: Yeah, so? You are my mom. You are a variant version of my dad, a female version. Therefore in fact, you are my mom.
*Y/n just realized what she just said as Sylvie starts tearing up*
Y/n: Mom- Sylvie I-
*Sylvie embraces the mini Lokidóttir smiling like an idiot*
Sylvie: I never had children before, let alone a daughter!
*Loki looking at Y/n with a smug look, who is clearly uncomfortable with affection*
Loki: aw, what's wrong Y/n? hug you're mother~
* Y/n grumbles at her father's teasing as she hugs Sylvie back awkwardly and Sylvie wipes her tears still smiling*
Loki: I'm just going to make this more uncomfortable.
*Loki group hugs Sylvie and Y/n*
*Y/n groans and blushes*
Y/n: At least, you two finally stopped biting at each other's throats...

I Can Explain, Really
@creativepromptsforwriting #379 inspired
“The stains were impossible to hide and hard to explain.”
@creativepromptfills
Written for @lokibingo
Square I3: “Oh, don’t worry; the blood isn’t mine.”
An “everybody lives in the tower as a happy found family, and, yes, Loki’s there too” fic with banter then fluff between Loki and teen!reader. And Reid is a friend’s name, so I just used it.
                  ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
You tried to be as quick and soft-footed as you could, basically gently hopping on the balls of your feet and trying to do your best impression of a gazelle as you moved down the hallways. You wore only socks as to even further minimize any noise you’d normally make. Your objective? Make it to the laundry room without running into anyone or alerting anybody to your whereabouts.
Balled up in your fist was your school gym t-shirt. All you had to do was get it washed before anybody saw you. You made one final jump, landing on the wood laminate of the laundry room. Yessss! You thought to yourself. As you opened up the washing machine, you heard a voice, low and smooth, behind you in your left ear.
“What are you up to, Y/N?”
You spun around, startled. “Shit, Loki! What are you doing sneaking up on me like that?” You huffed out a breath trying to calm your rapidly beating heart.
“I asked you first. I saw you, leaping about like a graceless, newborn deer. What are you trying, and failing at I might add, to be all stealth about?” He narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing you.
“What? Nothing,” you answered quickly. Too quickly.
“What are you hiding behind your back?” Loki had caught you trying to keep the hand with your shirt pinned between you and the washing machine. He didn’t wait for an answer before reaching around and yanking it from your grasp.
“Hey!” You yelled, but any further protestations we’re cut off.
“Y/N, what in the world is this?” Loki gasped as he let your shirt unfurl. There were several rather large bloodstains on the torso area. His gaze went from your gym shirt to the current shirt you were wearing, wondering what wounds you could be hiding. “Are you injured?” His brows furrowed in concern.
“No, no; it’s nothing like that.”
“Then what is it?” He demanded. “If some sniveling child at your school is harming you, I swear on Odin’s beard, I—”
Now it was your turn to cut him off, especially before he got so angry and worked up over non-existent bullying. Though you had to admit you were touched at how much he, and the other heroes, cared for you.
“Oh, don’t worry; this blood isn’t mine.”
This statement did absolutely nothing to ease his alarm.
“What?!” He shouted. Loki then realized his outburst might bring other team members to the two of you. He lowered his voice. “Have you harmed someone? Did you kill them?”
“What? No!”
“Must I help you hide a body?” In the span of a little over a minute, Loki had gone from suspicion, to concern, to earnest panic.
“For a frost giant, you have zero chill,” you said, rolling your eyes. “Also, if you’re willing to help me hide a body, I guess I can probably come to you with just about any problem I have. Good to know. No, I didn’t kill anybody.”
“Then what’s the meaning of this?” Loki gestured towards you with your bloodied shirt.
You hesitated. “Well…” You started slowly, drawing out the word. “I nailed Reid in the face with a dodgeball during PE, and Coach wrote me up.”
“Why would he write you up for an accident during class?”
“It wasn’t an accident,” you admitted looking at your feet.
“Why would you hit her in the face on purpose? I thought you and Reid were friends.”
“We had an argument, and she was being a bitch. But after I did it, her nose started bleeding, and I felt really bad about it. I apologized and gave her my shirt to hold against her face.”
Loki nodded in understanding. “Ah, that explains the blood. How did your teacher know it was on purpose? It’s my understanding the goal of this dodgeball game is to hit people with the ball, though not in the face of course.”
You were quiet. “Y/N…” Loki coaxed, his voice slightly stern.
“I might have shouted ‘Take that, you mewling quim’,” you muttered quietly.
Loki let out an audible sigh through his nose.
“I thought it’d be classier than straight up calling her a whiny c—”
“Stop,” Loki said abruptly. You were still looking towards the floor. “Y/N, look at me.”
You reluctantly looked up at him though your chin was still pointed slightly downward.
“Is Reid alright?”
“Yeah, the bleeding stopped fairly quickly. No permanent damage to her nose.”
“And did the two of you settle your differences? You’re still friends?” He asked.
“I think so; yeah.”
Loki pulled you in for a hug. “I suppose that’s what matters then.”
“Sooo..I’m not in trouble? You won’t tell the others?” You felt Loki move one of his hands to cradle the back of your head.
“No, my dear. We’ll keep this between us.”
“Thanks.” You pulled back slightly from the hug to look up at him. “Loki, do you really think I’m capable of killing someone?”
“Well, you can get incredibly angry during weekend game night,” he said with a small smile.
“Hey! I’m just really competitive; I hate losing,” you pouted.
“I know, I know; I hate losing too.” He again pulled you into a hug and kissed your head. “And I truly do hope you feel you can come to me with anything that troubles you.”
You smiled and nodded against his chest. The phone rang, and you heard Steve pick up. After a few murmured words you couldn’t make out, he bellowed, “They have in school suspension next week for doing what?!” You looked up at Loki with widened eyes.
“Perhaps you should have focused on intercepting the phone call from the school rather than washing your shirt,” Loki said looking down at you.
“Y/N!” Steve shouted from the living room.
“Loki, hide me!”

Mouse Trap Mayhem
Loki x teen female borrower
Synopsis: Borrower Y/N gets caught in a mousetrap while trying to get food from the Stark Tower kitchen. What will happen when Loki catches her?
Warnings: this is my first g/t story so it could suck but otherwise nothing i think?? Reader injury (Broken leg, hurt shoulder)
Tumblr media
The shock was utterly devastating. The pain was unimaginable. Y/N had no idea how she had ended up in this situation. She had taken the same path to the kitchen that she took almost every week. Only this time, there was an impediment.
She must have started taking too much food, the humans must have started to notice the crumbs and leftovers that she had been squirreling away. Of course they didn’t know what was really taking their food, so they went with the first conclusion that occurred to them. A mouse. And they had set mouse traps.
Y/N had no idea how she hadn’t seen the trap, but she was so focused on making sure that the kitchen was empty that she hadn’t been watching her step. Her job as borrower was so much harder than most, because there were so many humans living in the tower, each with a different schedule.
That wasn’t the problem right now, however. Her problem now was getting free of this mousetrap and finding a way to hide before a human decided to check the trap. Not an easy feat considering the weight of the trap, and the fact that it had probably broken her leg.
Y/N pushed with all her might, but could barely get the trap to budge. She became frantic, however, when she heard footsteps enter the kitchen.
In her panic, she finally managed to lift the trap enough so that the weight wasn’t holding her leg down, but when she tried to move her leg out from under the trap, the pain in her leg all but doubled, and the shock of the pain caused her to lose her grip on the trap. It slammed back down on her leg and she couldn’t stifle the cry of pain that squeezed past her lips.
The footsteps stopped abruptly. Y/N held her breath. Surely the human hadn’t heard that…right?
“What was that?” A man’s voice. British, deep. Scary. Y/N’s hands started to shake, but still she didn’t dare move. She saw a flash of green pass the counter in front of her, and by the time she blinked, it was replaced by a giant head. The urge to scream was overwhelming, but Y/N suppressed most of it, so that only a whimper came out as she began again to struggle against the mousetrap pinning her in place.
The giant in front of her grinned, revealing teeth the size of her whole hand.
“I told those idiots it wasn’t a mouse,” the man breathed. Then everything got ten times worse. The man’s hand, large enough to squash her easily, came at her and snatched up the mouse trap. She was now dangling upside-down above the countertop while the man—she believed this was the one the other humans called Loki—inspected her carefully. “You’re the one who’s been stealing food, eh?”
Y/N shook her head. She was so scared she didn’t know what to do.
Loki’s features twisted into a scowl. “I don’t like liars, small one.”
Y/N whimpered. What was she supposed to do? What would he do? Was he going to hurt her, eat her, keep her as a pet?
“I suppose I should let the others know I’ve caught our thief,” Loki muttered, conjuring a jar out of thin air. Y/N started struggling harder, pulling at the mousetrap with all her might. She did not like jars. “Now now, stay still little thing.” Loki’s voice came out as a growl, and Y/N shuddered, her fear freezing her joints. Would he hurt her more if she didn’t listen? There was no way to know.
Loki used his huge finger to pull on the mousetrap, and the weight on her leg went away instantly, and she was falling.
Falling right into the jar.
She hit the hard glass bottom shoulder first, and a yelp escaped her as pain shot through her arm. She quickly sat up and leaned her tired, beat up frame against the wall of the jar, her eyes wide and her whole body shaking as she stared through the glass at the giant peering at her.
“Such a strange little thing,” Loki muttered, turning the jar to get a better look. Y/N whimpered as her whole world tilted back and forth, Loki’s face taking up her whole field of vision. “Maybe I should take you to my quarters and get a better look at you before those idiot scientists have all the fun.”
Those words scared her more than anything that had happened thus far. The scientists. Bruce and Tony. She had known they were scientists, but her pain had been a rather distracting companion, and she hadn’t had time to think about it. If Loki handed her over to scientists…
She hadn’t even realized that she started crying until she felt the warm, wet liquid spill into her lips and past her chin, soaking her shirt. Y/N pulled her good leg up to her chest, hugging it and burying her face in it as her shoulders began to shake with sobs. This was it, her life as she knew it was over. She was going to be locked in this jar forever, studied and experimented on by scientists, poked and prodded by nosy humans.
Y/N cried out in surprise as she began to get bumped around, her shoulder slamming into the side of the jar. Loki was walking, his hand gripping her enclosure tightly as he made his way to his room. When he arrived, he tilted the jar, and Y/N slipped out and fell onto his desk with a cry of pain as she landed on her hurt leg and fell into a crumpled heap.
Was this gonna be her life now? Going from one pain to the next?
Y/N wasn’t sure how long she could take it.
Loki was quite enjoying himself. First, he was proven right about the intruder not being a mouse.
“How could a mouse open the loaf of bread without chewing through the plastic?”
“Maybe you left it open.”
“I. Did. Not.”
It was a small victory to say the least, but he didn’t get many small victories these days, living with those insufferable Avengers. Maybe this discovery would knock down Stark a few pegs. He wasn’t always right.
But first, Loki wanted to get a better look at his little discovery. He had read about tiny humans in an Asguardian book once, but he never quite knew whether to believe the story or not. Now he had proof.
Loki was slightly perplexed with this creature, however. When in the mouse trap, the little thing had been absolutely feral in its attempts for freedom. Now however, free from both the mousetrap and the jar, it just lay in a heap, barely moving. Maybe it was playing dead. Or maybe it just wasn’t a very intelligent creature. It could be that it was more animal than human, even though it appeared human.
Loki leaned down to get a closer look, before prodding the figure with his index finger. The little thing flinched, and Loki heard a barely-audible whimper. He frowned. Surely that little prodding hadn’t hurt, right? Loki gently pinched the little thing’s shoulder, and positioned its body so that it was laying face-up on his desk. He felt the thing shuddering and trembling under his touch, and its eyes were open wide. It was terrified.
And it wasn’t an it. Now that Loki had a good look at the thing, it looked like a girl. Not just a girl, a young girl. Probably barely a teenager.
And now Loki also saw why she hadn’t tried to run. Her right leg was twisted at an ever-so-slightly strange angle. Probably because of the mousetrap.
A toxic mixture of guilt and pity swirled in Loki’s stomach. The poor little thing was injured, and he had scared her.
The pity wasn’t quite strong enough to overcome his curiosity, however.
“What’s your name?” He asked, feeling silly. What if this thing couldn’t even talk? He still wasn’t sure if it was intelligent, or just some animal with human characteristics.
The little thing slowly sat up, and appeared to be trying to inch slowly away from him. He frowned and planted his hand behind her back, halting her movements. The girl whimpered yet again, and she was still shaking.
“I’m not going to hurt you,” Loki hesitated. “At least…not if you do as your told.” He didn’t intend to hurt the girl, it seemed pitiful to hurt something so pathetic. But perhaps, if she was intelligent, a little fear would keep her honest.
A mutter escaped the girl’s lips, but Loki couldn’t hear it.
“Speak up,” he barked, and he almost winced when he felt the child flinch.
“My name—my name is—is Y/N,” She called out in a shaky voice. “Please—please don’t hurt me.” She added in a whimper.
Loki pretended to think it over. “Well…you have been stealing from us…” he trailed off. Perhaps he was going a little far, but the little girl was so easy to scare.
He hadn’t expected her to burst into sobs.
“Please, please I’ll do anything, don’t hurt me!”
Loki wasn’t sure what to do now. He could feel the girl’s small frame convulsing with sobs, her whole body shuddering. She was a wreck.
And he had caused it.
His amusement at her fear had long faded. What had this little one been through that made her so truly, deeply terrified? Had a human hurt her in the past? Or were tiny little things like her just taught at a young age that all humans had bad intentions?
“Please don’t hurt me again, don’t give me to the scientists, please!”
Again?
Then Loki realized. It wasn’t some kind of past trauma or scary story that made this child terrified. It was him.
He had held her upside down, dropped her in a jar, threatened to hurt her, poked and prodded her, and talked of handing her off to scientists to be studied. Of course she was terrified!
Then another thought occurred to him. The little thing was probably still in immense pain; her leg was broken, after all. And now that Loki thought about it, that long fall into the glass jar probably hadn’t felt very pleasant, either.
“Oh, little one…” Loki’s voice was soft now, apologetic. The little girl glanced up at him, and he winced when he saw her red, puffy eyes staring fearfully up at him. “I…I won’t hurt you, I promise.”
Loki scooped the girl up in his palm, and began using his magic to heal her leg.
The girl cried out in pain at first, but when she saw her leg return to a normal angle, and slowly felt the pain dissipate, she stared in awe at Loki.
“Does it hurt anywhere else?” He asked softly. She seemed hesitant to respond, but eventually she pointed to her shoulder. “May I?”
She nodded, and Loki gently touched the tip of his finger to the girl’s shoulder. Green wisps swirled around the spot, and Loki saw the girl’s face relax quickly from it’s previously-pained expression.
“Why are you helping me?” Y/N breathed out.
“It’s what I should have done from the start. Forgive me, I became caught up in my selfishness and my curiosity. I would never hurt you, I swear.”
“Please don’t give me to the scientists,” the little one whimpered.
“I won’t, I won’t little one, I promise.”
The little child stared up at him. “What happens now?”
Loki was suddenly nervous. “I…I suppose I could take you home…if you’d like. And if…if you don’t hate me…maybe you could come and visit me sometime.”
Y/N seemed to be thinking it over rather seriously. “No more jars?”
Loki smiled slightly. “None, I swear. I could even help you out with getting better food around here, if you’d allow me.”
A tiny smile played across the girl’s face.
“I think that would be alright.”

JJK ! The Itadoris
TW: poverty, drugs, family trauma
Tumblr media
Thinking about the Itadori twins, all their baby brothers, and their older brother Choso – who, after their parents and grandfather died, has been their sole caregiver.
Which has in no way been any easy task.
It’s like Shameless up in their house. Stuff’s either broken or crudely fixed with superglue and duck tape. The bills are piled in a wobbly stack in the kitchen, and everyone who can walk is expected to chip in. The walls are riddled with mold, and the bathroom looks like it hasn’t been washed in, well, ever.
But somehow, they make it seem like the most loving household on the block.
Yuji and Sukuna share a room, even though they hate one another and have fought each other with fists and kicks ever since they first learned how to. They'll fight over the smallest things, having always needed to share all their clothes and toys with one another – always up in the other's business as though they're living in each other head. They’re always riddled with cuts and strips, their knuckles wrapped tight in bandages they have to boil and reuse.
Sukuna is more troubled, and Choso has often made the decision to throw him out on the street, but the unwanted cretin always crawls back to crash on the couch when he has nowhere else to go – riddled with unwashed wounds, looking so beaten and starved, the older brother can’t help but take pity on him. Sighing heavily when carrying him up to his room, even when the urchin growls at him to piss off.
Yuuji has always tried steering his twin in a better direction – making him go to class, signing him up for college after high school, getting him a job – but Sukuna has always been in love with the streets and doesn’t want to partake in any pesky conformist rituals like his brothers are sworn on doing. He speaks loudly about it when he’s drunk or on other stuff – how they’re delusional sheep for thinking they could ever simply smile their way into another life – that being slumdogs is what they were meant to be ever since their parents decided to fuck off.
It's a shame… because you can tell he’s actually very smart. Smarter than Yuuji, who by no means tries very hard at school but always comes home with a C+ letter marking his assignments. You’re sure he’d get higher if he applied himself a little harder instead of goofing off in silly after-school clubs. And as for Sukuna, you’re sure he could be valedictorian if he bothered.
Sometimes, he’ll show up in class. Almost always with a new tattoo on his face or arm – from what you can see – you’re sure there’s a lot under his shirt you can’t. He's such a punk, lighting up a smoke in class before the teacher comes in, his muddy sneakers propped up on a poor sucker’s desk.
He smells of liquor and smoke when he swaggers passed you on his way out after the teacher barked at him to go to detention. He never goes, and you wonder why he would even bother coming – but you understand when you see him parole the hallways like he’s some tyrant king overseeing his domain – and you understand it even more when you see him dealing.
It's insane how different the twins are. You know twins often compliment each other, but Yuuji and Sukuna straight-up reject one other. Because Yuuji is the sweetest, most thoughtful person you’ve ever met, and despite humble beginnings, he’s always proudly boasting about all his younger brothers and older brother Choso – and though he rarely ever mentions Sukuna, you can tell how he’s troubled for his twin’s sake.
You admire Choso. He’s as old a brother as older brothers come. Doing everything for the sake of the younger ones. Packing lunches, helping with homework, drawing baths, and washing clothes. Yuuji helps with a lot of it, but still, the brunt of the decisions rests on Choso’s shoulders.
But despite the heavy bags beneath his tired eyes, he’s always got a lazy smile on his lips. So much love when he tucks all his kid brothers in at night, kissing their foreheads before crashing on the couch at the end of the day – a cold beer and a slim rolled joint in his hands as a little treat.
He always stays up and waits for Sukuna to come home – getting a little antsy if it starts to rain outside, hoping he’s not got himself caught up in some dumb gang again.
He rubs his face, hair disheveled in two top-knots – the TV on low so as not to wake the entire house. But Yuuji comes down the stairs after a while anyway, saying something like, “I’ll go look for him; I think I know where he is…”
And he’s almost always, always, at the graveyard with a bottle of vodka, sitting in just a thin shirt and soaked cargo pants in the pouring rain, all his cigarettes a mushy mess in the mud as he leans his head and back against the cold tombstone of their parents.
“D’you plan om sleeping out here?” Yuuji calls out through the storm, and Sukuna peels his eyes open with a scowl.
The alcohol has made him warm, but still, he’s so cold he can’t feel anything at all. He’s so pale he’s turning blue, and the markings he’d played off as tattoos run down his cheeks in blackish streaks.
Yuuji sighed at the lack of response, crouching down with a hand reached out. “Come on; you’re driving big-bro insane with this bullshit-”
“Fuck off.” He grunts back – his voice is so hoarse and so weak, Yuuji wouldn’t have heard it if he hadn’t expected it.
Still, it riles him up. “If you die, I’m not burying you here. Only family deserves a slot-”
Sukuna growls, staggering into a leap, he tackles Yuuji down in the mud – gracelessly crawling on top of him with his hands around his neck.
But he’s been drinking, and the cold has made him weak, and Yuuji easily turns it around on him – pinning him beneath himself with fists wringing his shirt.
“Jeez, bro- let’s just go home, okay?” He sighs, dismissing the attack. It’s not like it was anything new.
“If I step one foot inside that hellhole, I’m gonna burn it down- with you and everyone in it,” Sukuna mutters back, laying still in the sludge of wilted flowers and downtrodden grass.
Red lines his eyes – and Yuuji can tell, even in the rain…
“Yourself included?” He asks.
His eyes ease up from a narrowed scowl into simple weariness, looking off to the side. “It’s bullshit…” He mumbles. “To fuck us up only to leave…”
“D’you want ‘em to drag us down with ‘em?” Yuuji purposes, his fists loosening their grip.
Sukuna frowns in thought, bitterly accepting his brother’s point. In all his dim glory… Yuuji has always been smarter when it comes to matters of the heart.
“Curse them.” Sukuna grumbles under his breath, and Yuuji gives him a smile.
In all his shitty glory… his twin brother is pretty cute when he pouts after all.
“Wanna piss on their grave?” He quirks through his smile.
Sukuna doesn’t answer, but accepts the hand reached down to him after Yuuji jumped to his feet.
And as they stand there in silence, the rain stops, and the warmth of their piss hitting the cold stone slab makes dew rise along with the morning sun on the horizon.
“There.” Yuuji shakes despite being soaked through and through. “Now let’s go home.”

Dad opened the car door for me as we got in. The drive was silent for a bit, neither of us wanting to talk about what was going on. Dad never brought me along for work trips unless it is necessary. “So, are you going to tell me what happened? Or am I just going to be in the dark about this,” I asked dad and I looked over at him. He was quiet before speaking up.
“Remember how I told you about that God from Asgard? well, he has a brother named Loki. And Loki wanted something we have called the tesseract.”
“What does the tesseract do?” I asked him.  “We don't know, we were trying to figure it out but then Loki came through this portal and took it, along with the doctor in charge of the tesseract and… Clint Barton.” dad said as he took a hand of mine and squeezed it.
If I had an uncle it would be clint. We aren't close but when I would come to the office with dad from time to time clint and I would play pranks on other agents. He is very fun to be around.
“So why are we going to Stark tower?” I said as I saw the building in front of us. Easily one of the largest buildings in the city and clearly Starks. I saw a red suit flying through the sky and had to hold in a chuckle. “We need his help to get the tesseract back,” he said as we pulled into the tower. There was an empty parking spot right near the front. We got out and made our way into the tower.
“Hello, Agent Coulson and guest, how may I assist you today?” JARVIS said as we walked in.
“Alert Tony Stark that I’m here and I need to talk to him,” Dad said as we got into the elevator. “Right away sir,” JARVIS said as the elevator started to go up. I shake my hands fast as we make out way up. When I get super excited or nervous I shake my hands to help release some of the energy. I don't know if it actually works but I do it and it feels like it helps. Dad looked at me and saw me do it. “Excited or nervous?”
“Both, because it's Tony Stark and but also because it's Tony Stark,” I say with a chuckle. “Mr. Stark does not wish to speak to you sir, would you like to come back another time?” JARVIS said. “God dammit Tony,” my dad says and I see him get his phone out of his pocket as he hit Tony's contact. My dad brought the phone up to his ear.
Stark, we need to talk.
You have reached the life model decoy of Tony Stark, please leave a message.
This is urgent
Then leave it urgently.
as I continue to shake off my nerves, The elevator dings as the door opens. I see Mr. Stark talking to a lady. The two turn to look at us. “Security breach!” Tony says looking at my dad. “Mr. Stark,” my dad says to him.
“Phil! Come in,” the redhead says as she makes her way over to us. “And who might you be?” She said as she looked at me."I'm Y/n Coulson, I'm his daughter."  I said is I extended my hand out to her,”I'm Pepper Potts, nice to meet you.” she said as we shook hands. I wonder if she and Tony are in a relationship? "come on in, we're celebrating!"
“I didn't know you were bringing mini agent, agent,” Tony said as he gave me a fist bump. “But as Pepper said, we are celebrating so you cant say. Bye!” Tony said as he turned around quickly. Pepper stopped him and he turned back around.
We need you to look this over. Soon as possible.
I don't like being handed things.
That's alright, `cause I love to be handed things. So, let's trade.
She passes her glass of champagne to Dad and takes the file from him, then takes her champagne glass back from Dad and passes the file over to Stark. “That was badass” i whispered, and I saw Pepper turn and wink at me. That woman is so cool, and hot.
Official consulting hours are between eight and five every other Thursday.
This isn't a consultation.
Is this about The Avengers? Which I...I know nothing about.
“What's the Avengers?” I asked dad as he gave me a wink, which meant he would tell me later.
“The Avengers Initiative was scrapped, I thought. And I didn't even qualify.” Tony said as he started walking towards his high-tech desk. “Why wouldn't you qualify? You’re Tony freaking Stark!” I exclaimed. “That's what I said!” Tony replied. “But apparently I'm volatile, self-obsessed, don't play well with others.”
“That makes sense,” I said back. “This isn't about personality profiles anymore.” my dad commented. “Whatever. Miss Potts, got a minute?” Tony waved his hand over and Pepper excused herself. I turn towards my dad. I have never seen him this anxious before. I took his hand in mine and gave it a squeeze. He looked down at me “it's going to be okay Dad, everything's going to turn out fine. We’ll be safe.” As I said that, I saw Tony look at the file on his holographic screen. There were pictures of heroes, all of who I recognized. I saw the hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Captain America. My dad and I were his biggest fans. Dad even has these vintage trading cards that took us forever to collect. It would be awesome to meet him in person one day.
Tony and Pepper were talking quietly before I saw her whisper something into his ear and his eyes went wide. Yep, they are definitely a couple. She kissed Tony before making her way over to us. “Well, he has homework to do. Any chance you are stopping by LaGuardia?” she said to my dad.
“We can take you,” my dad responded before walking towards the elevator with Pepper. I quickly ran to tony before we had to go. I tapped his shoulder and he turned to look at me. “I know you probably don't want to do this, but my dad's really scared and I'm scared. We need Earth's mightiest heroes to protect us. Please consider it.” I said to him. “Y/N” my dad called as he was holding the elevator door open. I quickly gave him a fist bump before running back to the elevator. Pepper was talking to dad about this girl he was seeing for a while who moved to portland. I never met her, but I knew dad liked her. I turned to look back at Tony who gave me a wink before the elevator door closed.
