#he was literally willing to kill everyone in that compound to avenge her

Some noteworthy quotes from the few episodes Josephine had taken over Clarkes body:
“You don’t get it. If Bellamy knows that Clarke is dead then all of this is for nothing. You may as well just kill us all now” - Murphy to Josephine
“The people you care about are in trouble. I guess you just care about her more” - Josephine to Bellamy
“I’m not losing her again” - Bellamy to Octavia
“Clarke I need you” - Bellamy to Clarke
“I’m not letting you go. You’re a fighter, now get up and fight” - Bellamy to Clarke
And I’m supposed to think they’re platonic????

Avengers + others reacting to reader passing out/getting dizzy.
( headcanons )
REQUESTS ~ CLOSED
The whole team ( like everyone ) :
Peter and Bruce notice the signs first. The way your eyes are glazed over. Whoever is closest to you will grab your arm if you sway or stumble forward.
It kinda depends on why you're feeling faint. If it's because of sickness, Bruce will definitely give you an IV so that you start to get better
If it's because of not sleeping, don't be surprised if they drag you to your room and make you go to sleep for like the whole day.
If it's because you haven't ate, then everyone will start arguing over what you should eat. While everyone is arguing, Steve and Bruce sneak away to the kitchen and get you some chocolate and a glass of orange juice
If there's no reason, then they will make sure to have you sit or lay down. They will also always keep a closer eye on you.
Tony Stark
He probably will tease you about being clumsy. He might even make a little joke or comment about it. Once he realizes that you are dizzy, he instantly goes into action.
If you start to pass out and he cannot reach you in time, he'll have one of his suits get around you so that you don't injure yourself falling.
If you don't wake up pretty much immediately, he's going to get Bruce. He might joke at first but he's still worried about you.
If he does reach you in time, he's going to wrap him arm firmly but gently around your waist. Once your eyes slide close, he picks you up and waits for a few moments. If you don't wake up, he'll take you to Bruce.
Steve Rogers :
He's literally by your side as soon as you stagger to the left. He starts rambling off questions. Asking if you had eaten that day or if you are sleepy.
When you pass out from the overwhelming wave of vertigo, his worry triples. He checks your pulse quickly before picking up your limp form.
It doesn't matter if you were only unconscious for three seconds. He is still taking you to Bruce. He deeply cares for you and would never forgive himself if anything were to happen to you.
He also hovers slightly now. He wants to be close enough to make sure that you are feeling okay and not feeling like you are going to pass out.
Bucky Barnes :
" You okay there, doll?" He says as he moves closer.
Once he gets closer, he gets his answer. You feel the room spinning and you blindly grab whatever is close to you. Turns out is was Bucky's metal arm.
He positions his body to where his normal arm wraps around your waist. He doesn't want to hurt you with his metal arm. He guides you to the closest couch and gets a good look at you.
He is trying to get to the bottom of your dizziness when you end up losing consciousness. Bucky immediately yells for Bruce and checks your pulse.
When you wake up, you're in Bucky's bed, a IV in your arm.
" You gave me quite a scare there, doll."
Thor :
If you get lightheaded on Asgard he takes you to the healers immediately. He's is super worried about you. You mean the world to him.
If you get dizzy on earth, he takes you to Bruce. Will not hesitate to pick you up when he sees the way your eyes glaze over.
Will freak out even more if you end up passing out in his arms. He holds you close in his arms. If you are injured and pass out in battle, Thor is p i s s e d.
When that happens he will not hesitate to kill all nearby enemies, his eyes glowing a deep blue as rage clouds him.
Loki :
He'll react similar to Tony. He most likely will tease you about it and make some smart comments about it.
But the moment, your eyes flutter, he teleports to your side. He's a trickster and likes joking around sometimes. But, he will actually draw a line when it comes to your health or your well being.
Demands Bruce to make sure that you are okay. The good thing is, Loki can teleport/shape shift.
So if he notices from far away that you are close to fainting, he'll immediately be by your side, to make sure you don't fall.
May or may not tease you though.
" You fainted directly into my arms. If you wanted my attention, you did not have to resort to such extremes."
Stephen Strange :
Okay if it's before his accident, he will immediately check you out. He's also a " I told you so." Type of guy so don't be surprised if he scolds you.
He will be worried if you end up passing out. Will take you to the hospital but won't let anyone but him and Christine check you out.
If it's after the accident, then you are kind of in luck. He has been more aware of his thoughts. If he notices that you look like you are able to collapse, he won't hesitate to use his powers.
He'll freeze everything to get to your side. He'll resume time when his arm is snug around your waist. Does panic a bit if you end up passing out. Won't let you do anything for the rest of the day.
If you end up passing out before he can freeze time, his cloak will always beat him to getting to you. His cloak will keep you upright so that strange can pick you up.
Peter Parker :
He could sense something was off. He was worried as he made his way to your side.
" Y/N, you oka-"
You fainted out of nowhere, your eyes rolling back in your head as your knees buckled. He was able to stop you from falling.
He had caught you with a web, a string of strong material had latched on your back. This was good enough until peter was able to get in front of you. You slumped forward in his arms.
" Mr. Stark? What should i- d-d-do?" Fear was evident in his eyes.
" Hold tight, kid. I'll get Bruce."
You awaken three minutes later and Peter has tears in his eyes. He thought you were gone forever.
Bruce Banner
Instant worry. As soon as he notices you start to sway unsteadily on your feet, he's going to pick you up. He will do a thorough exam to try and get to the bottom of it.
If you do end up passing out, he'll catch you and lay your body on the exam table, making sure that you are comfortable. While he does your exam, he'll make sure to keep an hand on your hip to make sure that you won't end up slipping
He feels better if he can find a reason behind your fainting. However, if he can't, then he'll will just make a habit of checking up on you more to see if you are feeling okay.
Natasha Romanoff :
She was already super protective of you. She felt really worried when she noticed what state you were in. Discreetly wraps her arm around your waist and supports a good portion of your weight.
Her grip tightens on you when your knees start to buckle. If you end up passing out, she will lift you into her arms and go in search of Bruce.
She won't leave your side while you are being attended to. She will also hold your hand while you are out. This is so you will recognize her when you wake up so you won't be alone.
May or may not use you feeling dizzy as an excuse to cuddle extra close to you. That way if you do end up passing out she will be close to catch you. + More affection.
Wanda Maximoff :
If she cannot reach you in time when you begin to lose consciousness, she will definitely use her powers. She would levitate you as gently as she could.
It also depends on where you feel dizzy at as well. If you feel dizzy but you are out and about, she will discreetly being you close and wrap her arm around you to keep you upright and steady.
If you start to feel lightheaded at the compound, Wanda will fully use her powers to make sure that you are safe. She will also carry you to bed.
Will not let you get up unless it's to go to the bathroom.
Vision :
Starts asking you questions while guiding you to the nearest soft surface. If you do end up passing out, he will pull you into his arms. He will time how long you are out for. If it's longer than a minute, he's taking you to Bruce.
Also keeps you a little snack stash for whenever you feel lightheaded or feel faint. You have also noticed that he is starting to hover more ( literally and figuratively ). If he notices you start to sway, he'll go right behind you and gently grab you so that you lean back against his chest.
While doing this, Vision will also discreetly check your pulse and temperature, but most times when he does that you are too out of it to even notice.
Just naturally worried about you. He wants you to be happy and healthy so he always makes sure to ask if you are feeling alright. You should also use it to get more cuddles out of him. When you cuddle up to him suddenly out of the blue, he will immediately ask you if you are alright.
Sam Wilson
Takes you to Bruce immediately. No like for real. And don't even get him started if you do end up passing out. Sam loves you so much so he's going to make sure that you are good.
Definitely makes you eat real food. None of that instant stuff. Even if he has to make it himself. If it's stops you from feeling faint, then he's willing to do that for you.
CUDDLING.... MORE CUDDLING.
He is definitely one of those people who loves cuddling with their s/o. If you do end up passing out, he will definitely be taking you to Bruce.
If there is no reason for your fainting then Sam will put you in bed. He will also make sure that you are as comfortable as he can make you. He will also have your favorite snack/food and/or movie ready.
Might make a joke or two about it.
Clint Barton :
( I forgot him oops )
Okay, he's like a mix between Natasha and Tony. He would tease you a little but like the instant he sees that you are looking a little out of it, he kinda panics. He definitely hovers close to you. However long this spell goes on, he will have both hands on you.
Will drag you to Bruce of he has to. He doesn't play around when it comes to your health. Once Clint has you steady he will crack a joke or two after make sure that you're good.
" I guess you could say you're falling for me."
Is a lot more hesitant for you to go into battle. He's now like ten times more protective of you, especially if the enemies know about your fainting spells.
He feels a little better about it if there's a reason behind you feeling woozy. Of it's something that can be fixed like eating enough, he'll make sure he always has snacks/drinks on him when you are around. He'll pull you into his lap and will make sure you are straight .

Door’s Always Open
Tumblr media
Summary: Wanda Maximoff had just experienced more trauma and loss than anyone should ever have to endure, so naturally Y/n L/n wanted to help as best she could. However, Wanda wasn’t the most appreciative.
Word Count: 3,761
Genre: Fluff, Angst
Requested?: Yes
Warnings: Mentions of death
A/N: This is another rollercoaster for sure lol Enjoy!
The fight against Ultron was rough.
You were brought in for help at the last second. Steve had called you up at 3am to tell you what was going on and asked if you could lend a hand. You and him had met at SHIELD before it fell, he saw potential in you and unofficially took you under his wing. Your cryokinetic powers were still new to you when you guys met, so Steve didn’t think you were Avengers material at the time.
But now, three years later and with the impending robot apocalypse, he was more than ready to make you an official Avenger.
As long as you survived.
You didn’t have much time for introductions when you arrived at Avengers Tower. Steve did a quick run down of who you were and what you could do, and you simply smiled and gave an awkward wave. The only two people who recognized you were Clint and Natasha, who gave you curt nods. Everyone else accepted your presence immediately, figuring it wasn’t the time to argue and they could use all the help they could get.
Vision was literally just born and he was a central part of the plan, so it’d be hypocritical to deny you from helping out too. As long as Steve vouched for you, they knew it wouldn’t be a mistake.
“Alright, Elsa, welcome to the big leagues.”
You resented Tony for that, because unfortunately that nickname would catch on.
You didn’t get a chance to properly meet the three faces you didn’t recognize. A man with silver hair, what looked to be a android who was red and green, look you weren’t one to judge
And the beautiful woman in the scarlet red jacket.
You couldn’t take your eyes off of her, she was captivating. And when you saw her in action in the battle of Sokovia, she was even more so. You made it your personal mission to get to know her when all was said and done.
But then, her brother Pietro was killed.
The flight back to America was awkward. Bruce was MIA now and the team was struggling with that. More importantly, to you anyway, Wanda was letting out silent sobs over her huge loss. Her brother and then her country. Her entire world. All in one day.
You figured she needed time to herself. That’s a lot to process.
A few weeks later, Steve called again inviting you to the new Avengers compound in upstate New York, and you said yes without hesitation. You were escorted to your new room and were beyond impressed. This really was the big leagues. You didn’t have time to appreciate it or unpack though, because Steve and Natasha ordered you to suit up and make your way down to the main floor.
You arrived in your brand new light blue suit with black accents. The suit was body length with the sleeves cut off. You figured it helped with mobility, making it easier to fight. You couldn’t get cold anyway, so it worked out. You were never one to be too cocky, but you had to say you looked good.
But Wanda looked way better.
She floated down, clad in a new suit as well. You couldn’t help but stare, she looked amazing. Beautiful and bad ass at the same time. You knew you were staring for too long though, because the witch turned her head towards you, giving you an unreadable expression. You turned your head away quickly.
Your first training session as an Avenger, and you were distracted the whole time. Wonderful.
It was a few weeks after when you decided you wanted to start making moves to get to know Wanda.
While you knew she wasn’t gonna be healed by any means, and you didn’t expect her to be, you thought it had been long enough that she would be willing to accept a hand.
And boy, you were wrong.
You had entered the living room, where she was sitting by herself, watching what looked to be a sitcom on the huge television. You gave yourself a mini pep talk before making your way over.
“Hey, Wanda!” You said, a little to loudly, which startled her. She whipped her head towards you, hands and eyes glowing red, and before you knew it you were flung across the room. Ow. You were struggling to stand up, when you saw a hand reach down to you.
“Are you alright? I’m sorry, you scared me.” Wanda apologized, and oh boy you were a goner. Her accent...wow. You shook your head, not the time. You were trying to get to know her.
“Yeah, don’t worry about it. I’ve had worse.” You joked as you stood. Wanda simply nodded, and once she knew you were okay, she turned away from you, intent on heading back to her show. You panicked. “Wait!” You shouted, and the witch turned towards you again. Eyebrow raised impatiently. “I...uh, came over to say hi...”
Wow, smooth Y/n.
“You wanted to say...hi?” Wanda asked, confused.
“Yeah...hey.” You chuckled nervously, hand going to the back of your neck. “I wanted to...I don’t know, check in on you? I wanted to make sure you were doing okay.”
Wanda’s face fell in anger, and she turned all her attention to you, facing you head on. Uh oh. “Am I doing ‘okay’?”
“I...uh...”
“Tell me, Y/n. If you lost your sibling, the person who’s been by your side since the day you were born, and your entire home country in one fell swoop, would you be ‘okay’?” Wanda asked, approaching you slowly and you stepped back, nervous.
You, being a total nervous wreck by this point, answered. “Um...I’m an only child...” Very badly. Wanda just scoffed and turned away from you, heading back to the couch.
You reached out one more time, determined. “Wait!” When she turned her head to you this time though, her eyes were glowing red. You rose your hands in surrender. “I’m sorry. That was the complete wrong thing to say...” Wanda’s eyes went back to normal at that, and you continued. “I know I’ll never be able to fully understand what you’re going through...and I’m so terribly sorry.”
Wanda turned again and headed back to the couch. She sat down again when she answered, not even looking at you. “I don’t need your pity.”
“It’s not. Honest.” Wanda didn’t give a reaction as she stared at the TV. You figured this night was shot, it was time to call it. Before you did though, you called over to her again.
“I just wanted to let you know that...you aren’t alone. My room’s the third one down from the elevators. You can stop by anytime if you want to just...talk. I know what it’s like to feel like the whole world is caving in on you, obviously not to the degree you do, but still. The worst part of it though...is dealing with it alone.” You still didn’t get a reaction from the witch. You sighed. “My doors always open.” With that, you left.
Wanda never did stop by.
You were stubborn though, you didn’t give up.
The next opportunity arose after training a week later. It was a tough one, tiring out the entire team, except for Natasha of course. You swore she was a super soldier herself and just hid it from all of you.
You were all gathering your things, team members beginning to trickle out of the room. Sam called over his shoulder as he was walking out “Good job today, Elsa!” He laughed and you groaned.
“Man...stop calling me that.”
“Aw come on...just let it go.” He laughed again and left. You rolled your eyes playfully. While you hated the nickname, you loved the playful banter that it provided with your team. Made you feel at home.
Before you knew it, it was only you and Wanda left. She was about to head out, ignoring your presence when you called out. “Hey.” You said softly, and she turned around. “I...uh, I was thinking about heading off campus for a bit. Maybe grab some ice cream? I was wondering if you maybe wanted to come?”
Wanda stared at you blankly. “It’s December.”
You internally face palmed. “Right...yeah, sorry. Kinda forget that people aren’t as fond of the cold as I am.” Wanda nodded, and started walking away again. You stopped her. “We can do something else though? Maybe get some hot food?”
Wanda rolled her eyes before turning to you. “I’m not interested.”
“Okay, well maybe we could-”
“I’m not interested, Y/n. Stop asking me.” She left the room without a second glance back to you. You sighed.
“Okay. Door’s still open if you wanna take me up on that talk!” You shouted after her. She didn’t answer.
And she still didn’t stop by.
The next few weeks continued like that. You offering out a helping hand to Wanda, her rejecting it, and you always reminding her that your door was always open. You could’ve sworn that she was letting her guard down a little bit each time. She wasn’t as cold with her rejections as she was when she started, she didn’t seem to be annoyed at your very existence anymore, you thought you were making progress.
And then it all went to hell.
You noticed that Wanda looked even more downtrodden then usual. You kept clear of her for the first half of the day, thinking she maybe just didn’t sleep well. Later that afternoon though, you made another move. You had a surprise for her after all.
You walked up to her door and knocked. After a moment, she opened the door, and she looked awful. Tear streaks on her face, hair messy, shirt hanging off her shoulder. This didn’t look good. Before you could ask what was wrong, she spoke. Colder than she ever has.
“What.”
The tone and heavier than usual accent took you aback. You didn’t dwell on it though. “Hey, so I actually had something I wanted to give you this time! I’m switching it up.” You chuckled nervously, but Wanda wasn’t phased. You coughed and kept going. “So I noticed that you were missing season 5 of Malcolm in the Middle, and I know the show isn’t available on streaming services for some reason, so...” You pulled the DVD set from behind you back, presenting it to her. Her eyes widened slightly in surprise as she slowly took the gift. She was about to say something, but then you started talking again. Saying the worst thing you possibly could.
“I bet you didn’t see that coming, did you?”
Wanda’s eyes snapped up, glowing bright red. You were then flown across the hall, back hitting it harshly before collapsing to the ground. You looked up at the witch, shocked at what just happened. Her eyes still glowing in anger. She threw the DVD at you as she seethed out her next words.
“Take it. I don’t want it. I don’t want anything you have to offer me.”
“Look, I just...”
“I don’t care! Why can’t you just stop!? You’re such a fucking idiot, Y/n! What, do you have a block of ice for a brain too!? I don’t like you, I’m never going to like you, I’m never going to talk to you. Take the hint already, and just leave me alone!” With that, she slammed the door.
You sat there in shock, not even being able to conjure up words. What the hell just happened? You tried to do something nice, not even asking anything of her this time, and she does that? Maybe it was a trigger, you didn’t know, but that just wasn’t cool.
You were determined to get Wanda to open up to you, yes, but you also had self respect. You can take rejection, but you weren’t gonna stand for being treated like that. After a few moments, you stood up and began to head back to your room. As you walked, you passed by a trashcan, and roughly slammed the DVD set into it.
That was the last straw. You were done trying.
Wanda had felt guilty when she fell into her bed. She knew you didn’t know the relevance those words held to her, and you were just trying to do something nice. In fact the entire time, you persisted. You never gave up on her, when most people would have. She felt bad for rejecting your advances, but she just couldn’t get close to you.
Wanda liked you, maybe more than she was willing to admit. She found you attractive, you were funny, good with your powers, a great fighter, but most importantly, you were kind. You gave her a kindness no one else on the team showed her, and now that she was thinking about it, maybe more than anyone in her life has.
She talked to Vision sometimes, and he was a good listener and all, but to be honest it felt like she was talking to a therapist. She wanted that emotional connection and understanding, and she didn’t have that with him.
She could’ve had it with you, but she was scared.
She fell back with a groan. She knew she would have to face you again eventually. Her stubbornness won out when she decided against just going to your room to talk. She fell asleep figuring you would probably approach her tomorrow.
You didn’t.
Wanda was a little taken aback when you just ignored her presence. It was like you were actively avoiding her. She guess she couldn’t have been surprised though, she did treat you pretty harshly. She’d give you the day, it would go back to normal tomorrow.
It didn’t
And it didn’t for the next few weeks either.
Wanda was really beginning to miss your presence. Something that she looked at as a burden for so long, she was now missing dearly. She had to make things right. She pushed her pride aside, and finally headed to your room. She hesitantly knocked on the door and waited. After a few moments, you answered.
You were surprised to see Wanda finally at your door, but you pushed it away, not letting it show. “What’s up?”
Wanda hesitated. You were never this short with her before. She really screwed up. “I...I just wanted to talk to you.”
Your eyebrows shot up and you crossed your arms. “Oh, did you? Did you want to tell me how much of an idiot I am or throw me against the wall again? Was there anything else you kindly wanted to share with me?”
Wanda cringed. “No, Y/n. I’m...sorry.”
You don’t know what you were expecting here, but it definitely wasn’t an apology. Your face softened as you dropped your arms, staying quiet to let her continue. “I have been horrible to you, even before the other night...you’ve been nothing but kind to me, and I repaid you by making you out to be a nuisance and...” She trailed off as she began crying. You sighed, letting your guard slip. As upset as you still were, you didn’t want to see the girl cry.
“Okay, just...come in.”
You stepped aside, letting the witch into your room. When she entered, you gestured for her to sit on your bed and after a moment, you joined her. You reached across to your bedside table, and pulled a tissue out of the box, handing it to her. She nodded in a silent thanks, and wiped her tears. You gave her a moment to try to calm herself down, all while you stayed silent.
Wanda took a moment to think of her next words carefully. She could apologize all day long, but it wouldn’t mean much unless she showed you that she actually did want you around. She did want to lean on you, you just had to see it, and pray that it wasn’t too late. She took a deep breath.
“That day...was Pietro’s birthday.”
Your eyebrows shot up again. “Oh...I’m sorry. Happy belated birthday by the way.”
“No...it was just Pietro’s birthday, not mine.”
It was safe to say you were confused at that. You furrowed your brow. “I thought you were twin-”
“We are.” Wanda cut you off, looking up at you. “Pietro would never fail to remind me how he is...was twelve minutes older than me. He was born five minutes to midnight, making my birthday the next day.”
You nodded, unsure of what to say. You took the safe route. “That’s cool.”
“Yeah, we always thought so. As twins, growing up we always had to share everything. So it was nice that we each had our own birthday.” You nodded again.
“Well...my sentiment remains. Happy belated birthday, sorry I missed it...”
“No, don’t be...you didn’t know, no one did. I made sure of that.”
“Well, I’ll make sure to remember for next year. Both of yours.” You gave a small smile, which the witch returned.
“Thank you. Anyway...the reason why I...did what I did to you that night, was because of what you said to me...”
You racked your brain, trying to remember what you said to her that could’ve possibly gotten her upset. You couldn’t think of anything and you shook your head. “I don’t-”
“You said, ‘You didn’t see that coming’.” Wanda interrupted, and before you could ask why that was bad, she continued. “After he obtained his speed, he would always say that. It sort of became his catchphrase...he never failed to say it when he could.”
Your face filled with understanding. You could understand why those words would be triggering to her. Coupled with the fact that it was the boys birthday, her first one without him, yeah...you understood why she reacted a little bit more.
“No, Y/n...nothing excuses the way I treated you.” Wanda says, seemingly out of nowhere. You looked at her, very confused.
“How did you-”
“I can read minds.”
“Oh...” Your face flushed with embarrassment, and for some reason Wanda chuckled at the sight.
“Don’t worry, I never intentionally peered into your mind, but sometimes I just can’t control it...”
You weren’t sure if that made you feel better or not, but you didn’t want to dwell on it, so you simply nodded.
“Y/n, I am so incredibly sorry for the way I’ve been treating you. You were just showing me kindness, a kindness that most people in your situation wouldn’t have showed. And I want to start trying to repay it. So...If it’s okay with you...I was wondering if we can...start over?”
You smiled at this. You were happy to see Wanda, the girl you’ve been trying to talk to for months now, was finally reaching out to you. Ready to start coming to you on her own. You reached down and placed your hand gently on Wanda’s, which was resting on the bed. “I’m more than okay with that. You already know, my doors always open.” Wanda smiled back at you at that.
After a few moments of silence, your face dropped slightly. “Um...” You took a glance around your room for a second, causing the witch to look at you in confusion. “So...that night, I kind of...threw away the Malcolm and the Middle DVD...” You said sheepishly, but Wanda just laughed.
“It’s okay, Y/n. I probably would’ve done the same thing.”
“Yeah, but I wanted you to have it. Y’know as like a token of our friendship. It could’ve been cute.” You pouted, and Wanda laughed even louder. You couldn’t help but swoon at the sound.
You thought for a few moments before your face lit up. “I got it.” You smiled. You pulled your hand away from the witch’s, facing it palm side up and held it in front of you.” You took your other hand and pointed it towards it. A stream of ice steadily flowed out of your hand, and slowly something solid started to form. When Wanda recognized what you were doing, she gasped.
After a few moments, you finished. Now lying in your once empty hand, was a beautiful small ice sculpture shaped like a lightning bolt. You smiled at your work, before holding it out for Wanda. “Here.” You said gently, and Wanda slowly took the statue, studying it with a smile. “I know it’s not exactly the same as having something of his...but hopefully this can be something to remember him by. Like a tribute to him.”
Wanda looked from the statue back up to you, smile wide on her face. She couldn’t believe you made that for her. It was small and simple, but it was perfect. She was speechless for a moment, but eventually she spoke. “Thank you.”
“Of course.” You said, as she placed the statue delicately on the night table next to her. “Maybe just...call me in like once a week so I can refreeze it. Wouldn’t want it to melt.” You gave a small chuckle, which Wanda returned.
“I will...” Wanda trailed off as she looked into your eyes. She couldn’t believe that she pushed you away for as long as she did. You were perfect to her, in everyway. She was going to make sure she kept you in her life for as long as she could, she would never push you away again.
Before she realized what she was doing, she felt herself slowly leaning in. She was glad to see that instead of you pulling away, or looking at her with disgust, you started leaning in as well. Soon enough, you met in the middle in a gentle kiss.
Wanda lifted her hand to rest behind your neck, and you brought your hand to rest on her knee as the kiss continued. After a few moments, you two pulled away, smiles planted on both your faces.
“I...hope that was okay.” Wanda said, suddenly nervous. Your smile only widened.
“That was more thank okay. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t mind doing that more. Like, a lot more.” You said in a playful tone, causing Wanda to laugh.
“Maybe take me on a date first...Elsa.” Your face dropped in mock hurt as you pulled away completely. Wanda only laughed harder.
“Nooo, not you too.” You whined, and Wanda only continued to laugh as she pulled you into another kiss. You more than welcomed it.
Needless to say, you were happy you opened your door for Wanda that night. Your door would always be open for her, and now, you were hopeful that she’d always she would always come knocking.

Steve Rogers Fanfiction (Fanfiction Master List)
Summary: You and Steve get married and he is really rude to you. Then he leaves you behind and goes back to Peggy but he doesn’t realise that you are pregnant. However, Sharon kills you and the baby to avenge her Aunt Peggy and Steve is left with nothing but pain and regret.
Warnings: Angst all the way.
._._._._.
Steve never wanted to marry you or anyone else for that matter. But the government wanted it and like a good Captain, he listened to them. It was the stupid law and he wanted to wring the neck of those who made it. The protectors of the world had to get married so that the world sees them as fellow citizens instead of humans with super powers.
All the Avengers knew that Steve was hesitant to get married and he was doing out of duty. They knew that it was unfair but they all had met you. They all loved you instantly and knew that you and Steve would hit it off. However, the only problem was that he refused to meet you. The only thing that he knew about you was your name and your job occupation. Apparently, it wasn’t worth his time to get to know his to be wife.
“You need to give it a proper chance before you form an opinion.” It was the night of your bachelor party and while everyone is blackout drunk, Steve and Tony just sat on the side couch. For a person who was getting married tomorrow, Steve looked miserable and Tony couldn’t help but interfere.
“I am doing my job and that’s all that matters.” Taking a quick sip from his glass, he didn’t even wince at the liquid burning his throat.
Sighing, Tony filled up his glass again. A drunk Steve was better than a sober one, in his opinion. “A marriage is not a job and you need to try harder.”
“You don’t get to have an opinion, Tony. You got the perfect girl and the perfect wedding.” Jealousy coursed through his veins when he realised that everyone got to be with the love of their loves while he was stuck with someone who he barely knew.
Tony was left speechless and before he could come up with a response, Steve got up from his place and made his way towards his room. Calling it a night, he dreaded the next morning. He was happy for all of his friends but he also wanted to fall in love over first coffee dates, first movie nights, the first kiss and the moment he proposed because he loved you. Not because he was obligated too.
“You ready, Stevie?” Bucky was trying to be supportive but the headache was killing him. The tequila was literally seeping out of his pores. “How are you not hungover right now?”
“I didn’t drink like a maniac last night.” Adjusting his bow tie, he took a deep breath. This was the most difficult thing that he was going to do in his life and he just wanted to be left alone for sometime. “Can I have a moment alone?”
“Are you going to run if we leave you alone?”
“I am not a quitter and you all know that.” They all filed out of the room and he just sat down on the sofa and gave himself a prep talk.
You were no better on the other hand but you were ready to give it a try. Captain America was a good man and he would make a good husband. At least, that’s what you thought. You understood that the marriage was not happening under the best of circumstances but you could give it a fair chance. Taking a deep breath, you went to join your father on the doorway. He gave you a tearful smile and linked his hands with you.
“Do you take Steve Rogers as your lawfully wedded husband?” The minister asked the much awaited question and you quietly responded with an ‘I do’. During the whole ceremony, you wanted him to look at you but his eyes kept wandering. You passed it off as nerves but little did you know that he was so repulsed by the idea of this marriage that he refused to look at his wife to be.
“You guys are finally married. Treat her well, Rogers.” Fury took you both in a bear hug while your husband just hummed in response. You were like a daughter to Fury and that is why he recommended you as Steve’s spouse. He knew that Steve was an honorable man so he would fulfill all his duties as a husband.
The whole night was spent with you both smiling and engaging in conversations with the guests. However, you both made minimum effort to talk to each other except a few stolen glances. Your feet were killing you by the end of the event but you were never the one to complain. A look of relief appeared on your face when Steve announced an end to the event and thanked everyone for coming.
“Come on.” Hurriedly meeting his steps, you sat in to the passenger seat and those were the last words that were exchanged between you. When you entered the house, he took you straight to a guest room and then left. Whatever expectations that you had for tonight were crushed and so you went to bed with tears in your eyes and your wedding dress still on you.
During the next few weeks, Steve didn’t even glance at you but whenever you made an effort to do something nice for him, he shot you off. He was not willing to give it a chance and for the first few times that you made him dinner, he just picked it up and threw it in to the trash. You were never allowed in to his room and you learned it the hard way.
One day, you just wanted to put his laundry in to his room because he was not home yet. What was the harm? But boy, were you wrong. He came home early that day and he bursted at you the moment he saw you in his room. He called you some very mean things that you do not even want to recall. That night, you cried so much that your entire pillow was soaked but you didn’t want to leave him. You were in love with him way before you were married. He was the guy who saved the world and he was a good and an ethical man. Maybe he wasn’t nice to you but he was a good man and you couldn’t disagree with that.
It wasn’t that you needed a man in your life or you were dependent on him. It was that you had feelings for the man and your parents never raised you to be a quitter. You were still hoping that it all may be alright in a few days or weeks and you could have a family together. She knew that she had to be realistic but sometimes a girl wanted hope.
“I won’t be coming home for a few days.” At least he had the courtesy to tell you this time that he was going. "I have asked some of the agents to check up on you daily so if you need anything, just ask them."
"Okay." You quickly dismissed his questioning stare because he thought that you would ask questions. However, you knew that he would be rude and you would snap at him this time. A girl could only handle so much.
A week had passed and you got daily updates from Liam and Noah regarding the civil war. You still couldn’t believe that Tony and Steve were fighting because you witnessed their friendship firsthand. They had just informed you that Steve and his team were arrested by the government and shipped off to a black sight. You wanted to go to Fury and ask him to release all of them but Liam told you that it wouldn’t work. It was out of his hands.
“What do you mean?” You couldn’t believe your ears right now. Fury came by your house instead of Liam and Noah. He informed you that Chris and the other Avengers escaped from the prison and no one knows their location. Hurt was one of the most evident feeling running through your body and you didn’t know how to respond. How could he leave without telling you anything? How could he just leave?
“There will be some investigations on you but it would be nothing serious.”
“Why?” You exclaimed.
“The government is convinced that you know their location. It will blow over in sometime.”
“I am not going to sacrifice my freedom for someone who wasn’t even bothered to tell me about all this.” The hurt quickly turned into rage.
“But (Y/N)-”
“Tell all of them that I will not be doing anything and that you all should leave me alone.” You stood up and Fury took it as his cue.
Closing the door, you don’t let yourself ponder over the throbbing ache in your chest and instead get to packing. You were going to move out of this house and leave this life in the past. You moved into your parents house and immediately shot down their questions about Steve. There was a bookstore across from a studio apartment that Tony helped you find in the next few days. You loved books and the job paid pretty well. Soon, you forgot all about Steve and your failed marriage. Of course, there were feelings that you had to bury deep inside of you but you successfully managed to move on with your life.
“Have you heard, munchkin? Cap is back.” Tony shuffled your hair as he entered the library.. Pausing for a minute to absorb his words, you got right back into arranging the magazine section. It was the last thing that you had to do before you got off for the night.
“I don’t care. Are we still on for the night?”
“Yes. Pepper is cooking for the first time. Just say that you like the food.” From the past two years, Tony has been your person. He was the one who ordered you food when you were feeling too low or who massaged your feet when you had feet sores from lugging around books all day. You were thankful to have him in your life because he was not there to support you financially, he was there to support you emotionally. Sometimes, you felt so alone that you thought you might go into depression. But he was there to pull you back and so was Pepper. They were your family.
“Okay, Tony. I already know.” Quite a few things have changed over the years such as you changing your hair color to low lights and getting bangs. You changed your sense of style and. now you were pretty much unrecognizable. It was all in hope of leaving the past and turning over a new leaf. And you were somewhat successful.
“So how was the food?”
“Awesome!” The fake, shrill voice was hard to recognise, even for you but you didn’t want to hurt Pepper’s feelings.
“I know it was not good so I ordered some pizza as a back up.”
“I love you.” A chorus sounded from Tony and you as you both hugged her and kissed her on either cheek.
“Yeah, yeah.” She quickly dismissed you both but the cheeky grin on her face was hard to hide. You called it a night when you started feeling sleepy and you said your goodbyes. Your apartment was only two blocks away so you decided to take a walk to clear your head. Steve had been on your mind since the time Tony mentioned that he was back. As much as you wanted to believe that his arrival didn’t effect you, you couldn’t deny all the feelings that came rushing back in.
“Robbins Library, how may I help you?” Without looking up, you asked the question in a fake, chirpy voice.
“Why are you not at the house?” The voice startled you from your receipt checking and you gave him a confused look. As you had time to process the question, you looked over his appearance. More muscular and a fully grown beard was an interesting look and definitely suited him.
“Well, it was not mine to begin with.”
“I left you that house so you would be comfortable.”
“I am doing just fine without it. You know, I didn’t need anything from you but love and respect.”
Steve was trying to do something nice for you but he didn’t understand you. He felt nothing towards you even if he tried. Guilt coursed through him when he saw the look of hurt on your face but he couldn’t do anything about it. “That is too much.”
“Well, I deserve it and I am not going to settle for anything less.” This time, the brain won the battle and you were secretly glad. You resumed your work and he left without saying another word.
The city was in chaos in a few days because there was an alien invasion in place. The Avengers were all over the problem but Pepper and you were panicked. However, the only difference was that she could ask about Tony’s whereabouts and you couldn’t do that for your husband. There were no updates for you and when Noah came to get you both with a battered suit, you were worried.
Walking towards the tower, you realised that many people were crying but the most important thing was that it looked like half of the population was gone. There were a lot of things that you didn’t understand right now but only one thing mattered. One person. Steve. You ran towards the tower and when you saw him sitting on a chair with his head in his hands.
“What happened?” The logical part of your brain started working right on time.
“We couldn’t prevent the snap and Thor escaped.”
You didn’t know what it all meant but it was definitely something bad. “So what does it mean?”
“It means that half of the human population have disappeared. It means that half of our friends, families, loved ones have disappeared. It means that I have failed!”
“Why are you getting angry at me?”
“Just leave me alone.”
“Do not speak to me like that. I do not deserve it. When you are in the right frame of mind, come talk to me.” You were not the person that suffered silently. You were the person who knew. what she wanted and how she should be treated.
Going outside, you called your parents but it just went to voicemail. However, busy they might have been, they always picked up their phone. So you knew that they were gone too. You were alone in this world and you didn’t know what to do. In the far distance, you saw Tony and Pepper hugging and you were happy to see that your best friend was not gone.
With tears running down your eyes, you turned back and collided into a firm chest. Looking up, you saw Steve and you just wanted someone to be with you right now. That’s what Steve also wanted because he felt like a failure right now. He wanted to give the marriage another chance as he thought that it was a miracle that you both were still here after the snap. It was not fair on you but he just needed someone and so did you. It was a fair trade.
“I just don’t want to be alone right now, Steve.”
“Me too. Let’s go upstairs.” You both just silently hugged each other and kept staring out into the Manhattan skyline. You knew that he didn’t have any feelings towards you and you cared about that. But not today. Today, you wanted to just lie down and soak up in his presence because he was the only one left for you.
He brought you breakfast in bed the next morning and he took you to all the meetings. You were confused as to why he was doing all of it and when you asked him, his answer was ‘I am trying’. You didn’t get your hopes high because you knew that it would be pathetic. This was going to be temporary and you just knew it. However, you just wanted a companion so you rolled with the situation.
“We can work around quantum physics and get all of our friends back.” He informed you over the ice cream that you were sharing. A Netflix movie ran in the background because it was a Saturday and it was a routine for you both.
“That’s a really good thing.”
“We are going to do it tomorrow.”
“Nice. I am going to bed. Are you coming?” He mumbled out a small yes and picked up all the dishes to put them in the sink.
The whole day tomorrow you clinged by your phone and called your parent’s number after every fifteen minutes. You looked crazy by the end of the day but when they finally picked up, you couldn’t explain the joy that coursed through your whole body. Talking to them for hours, you promised that you would visit them and you cancelled the call.
Steve came back with a bottle of wine in his hands to celebrate. “We were successful. The world is saved. Cheers!”
“Cheers!” Both your happiness knew no bounds and after a few many glasses, you both were dancing to Taylor Swift songs. By the end of the night, you two were truly drunk and one thing led to another. You woke up the next morning with sheets wrapped around your frame and the pillow beside you crumpled but cold. You regretted the night so much because you knew that he did not have the same feelings for you.
The whole day, you spent cleaning the apartment as there were empty bottles of alcohol laying around. Then you went to the library and today was a busy day because many people wanted an update for the past five years of their lives. It kept you distracted from everything and when Tony came in, it was like the past repeating itself. He told you that Steve went to place the stones back but he came back as old.
You stopped listening to him after sometime as your mind tried to process what was happening. He betrayed you. Again. You were preparing yourself for the hurt whole day but this was totally unexpected. You knew what to do so it was a good thing. Detach yourself from the situation and do damage control. That was your motto for the next seven months and you refused to meet him even after you found out you were pregnant.
“You are in the mood of some ice cream with pickles, hmm little bean?” Rubbing your round belly, you walked towards the snacks aisle. The flavored pickle was on the top shelf but it was out of your reach. A wrinkly hand from behind picked up the jar and when you turned around to thank him, your voice was stuck in your throat. There stood your husband but the older version. The wrinkled face still held some similarities to the young captain but he had a slight hunch and grey hair.
“(Y/N), is that you? Are you- You are pregnant?” The question in his eyes was pretty evident.
“Seven months.” You curtly spoke and wheeled the trolly towards the check out. He quickly figured out the timeline and felt guilty. It was his baby and he left you alone. He caught up to you when you were bagging the groceries.
“I am sorry, (Y/N). I didn’t know. If I could change everything, I would. Please give me another chance.”
“You chose Peggy so you don’t get to come back in my life. Leave us alone. It would be a favor for this child if he never gets to know you.” Telling him off made you feel a whole lot better and you went towards your car.
Seeing you leave, Steve knew that he had to make things right. He went to the compound where all the Avengers were lounging around.
“I thought you had retired, Cap.” Peter called out from playing his video game with Bucky.
“I want your help, Scott. I want to go back to my old self.”
“Why, Captain? Got bored of the grandfather look?” Tony asked while stuffing his mouth with buttered popcorn.
“No. I just found out that my wife is pregnant and I want to be there for them.”
“That’s sweet but why? You already had your chance with Peggy.” Natasha wasn’t very happy with Steve right now but they all had the same question running through their minds.
“Peggy and I couldn’t have kids.”
“So you are using (Y/N) and this kid as a replacement. That’s just selfish, Steve.” Everyone gave him a disgusted look because they couldn’t believe that he was just using you and the child to fill a hole in his life. Not because he loved you both.
“That’s not true. I didn’t want to stay in the past with Peggy but she forced me to. She broke the time machine apparatus and I had no other choice but to accept that life.” He looked at all of them and saw that they all were listening to him. “I made a time machine the whole time I was there and when it was complete, I got the hell out of there.”
“Oh, Steve. We are so sorry. Of course, we will all help you.” Hugging him tight, Nat spoke on behalf of all the others. The machine was all ready to go so Steve stood in the middle of it with Scott. They had to go back and fixed the machine’s timing and it would take some months to do all that.
Meanwhile, you got back home and unpacked all the groceries. Your hormones were running wild at the moment as you sat on the sofa with your swollen feet on the coffee table. You wanted a companion sometimes who would massage your back or who would call you pretty when you were feeling insecure about yourself or who would bring you food at four a.m. But this was a dream and you gave up on it a long time ago. You were enough for your baby and that was a fact.
When Steve came back, 10 months had passed by. You had given birth to a beautiful baby boy after a 21 hour labour. You cried and even though you had your mom with you, you still called out for Steve. You wanted him with you and afterwards, when you held that boy in your hand, you wanted Steve to be there with you to enjoy the moment. However, it was the last time his name even came out of your month.
“Oliver, you need to eat, bubba.” The last 8 months have been a rollercoaster ride for you and you knew through Tony and Pepper that Steve had gone back in time. You didn’t bother with the details because you had another human being to worry about.
“Nooooo.” This one word was the kid’s favorite and everyone of his sentence started with it. You were interrupted in the middle by the doorbell. Picking up your child from the high chair, you made your way through the house towards the door.
“What are you doing here?” Steve looked the same age as you so you knew that the time machine trip was successful. But you saw red. He didn’t deserve you or Oliver.
“(Y/N), is- is that him?” The blubbering baby did not even pay attention to his father and kept on pulling your hair. He was an exact replica of Steve from the dirty blonde hair to the charming smile. A literal reminder for you but you loved this little boy to death.
“Yes and now go away. We don’t need you.” Looking at the baby, he regretted the day he made the decision to be the one to return the stones. He regretted the fact that he did not allow himself to love you. He regretted everything. “Do not come near us. Goodbye.”
You went on with your week as per usual with feeding Ollie in the morning and taking him to the library with you where he had his own play pen. Then getting light lunch across the street and coming back home to take a nap for a few hours. Afterwards, you both ate dinner while Oliver’s favorite cartoons played on the tv. Except for the fact that Steve was at your house, your job and your cafe from the day he came back. He tried to apologize but the years that you spent in agony was too much. It was too little, too late.
It was a Sunday afternoon and by some miracle, Steve had left you alone. He had a meeting with the other Avengers regarding Asgard today. You were just playing with Oliver on his mat as he tried to crawl towards the stuffed toys in your hands. Before you picked him up, you thought that you smelt gas. However, a loud explosion threw you in to the nearest wall and you knew that your time was here. During the last few breaths, you tried to find Oliver but you couldn’t move. Mentally calling out for Steve, your gaze became unfocused and you lost conscious.
“Wha-What happened?” Steve knew that there was a bomb blast and he wanted to hope against all hope that you both were safe. However, the two body bags wheeled out of the burnt down house had him fall to his knees.
“There was an explosion and we caught Agent Sharon fleeing the scene.”
Sharon had confessed that she wanted to have revenge on Steve for cheating on her aunt Peggy. The new family that Steve had was a disgrace to her Aunt’s memories so she murdered them. She had gone a little crazy because Peggy was the one who take care of her when she was a child and she felt that Steve betrayed her.
Steve didn’t know what to do with his life at the moment. He was left all alone and his family was snatched away from him. He didn’t get a chance to be with them and now he was left with nothing but pain and regret. Trying to convince Fury to let him go back in time and prevent the explosion was futile because Fury just told him that this would upset the balance of nature. He didn’t understand it at first but then as time passed, he did. All the toys and photos that were salvaged from the house now decorated Steve’s very lonely apartment and he never let himself forget.
This was his punishment and he was not going to run away from it. Not this time.
Hope you guys enjoyed it!!

Barney
Summary: Tony comes to the team for ideas on what to sing to Morgan. (Technically Bucky x reader, but more Avengers x reader focused)
Warnings: 2000s songs about Barney... iykyk, vaguely implied smut
Word Count: 1235
a/n: Just a little blurb idea I couldn't get out of my head :)
To all the people who've sent in requests, I am working on them! I'm struggling with motivation atm, so when an idea struck that wouldn't leave my head, I figured I'd give in to the temptation

"Oh good, you're all here." Tony waltzed into the room, always one to make an entrance- even for breakfast in the compound's kitchen.
"Whatever it is, I'm out." Steve spoke quickly, not willing to help Tony with anymore side projects after the last one blew up in his face- literally.
"Capsicle!" Tony feigned offense, his hand moving to cover his wounded heart. "I'm hurt."
"What do you want, Tony?" Sam asked from the island, barely looking up from his breakfast burrito.
"I need new songs to sing to Morgan at bedtime. She keeps complaining that I'm getting repetitive." Tony huffed, dramatically throwing himself into a chair.
Natasha snorted. It was amusing how much Morgan could act like her father, or rather how much Tony could act like a child.
"Twinkle Twinkle?" Bruce suggested, never having been one to sing to children.
"Tried it." Tony sighed.
"Rockabye Baby?" Steve chimed in, listing the only children's song he could think of.
"She said that's for babies, and she is quote 'a big girl now.'" Tony shook off the melancholy feeling of his baby girl growing up, instead focusing on his current dilemma.
"So I take it Hush Little Baby is out?" Sam asked, laughing when Tony glared at him.
"Baa Baa Black Sheep?" Wanda suggested, a hopeful look in her eye.
"She's 'sick of the wool song.'" Tony threw his head back, staring at the ceiling in desperation. "You all are no help."
As everyone tried to come up with another song idea, Bucky and Y/N could be heard laughing together as they finally emerged to join the team for breakfast.
"Ask Y/N then." Steve suggested, genuinely trying to help.
At the sound of your name, you managed to tear your eyes away from Bucky long enough to ask, "Ask me what?"
"What songs did you sing as a child?" Vision piped in, not fully understanding Tony's request.
"Oh!" You thought back to your childhood, putting yourself on the playground after lunch and singing with your friends. "The Barney songs are the first to come to mind." You shrugged, mildly curious as to how the conversation started.
"What like, 'I love you. You love me. We're a happy family?" Sam questioned, amused at the idea of you singing the Barney theme.
You shook your head, a grin forming as you began to sing.
"I love you. You love me. Let's go out and kill Barney. With a baseball bat and a bullet in the head. Sorry kids, now Barney's dead." You bounced along to the tune of the song, smile growing with the memories.
"Oh! And then there was: Joy to the world, now Barney's dead. We barbequed his head! Don't worry about the body, we flushed it down the potty. Round and round it goes. Round and round it goes." A small chuckle escaped your mouth as you moved through the kitchen, eager to refuel after spending the night with Bucky.
It took you a minute to realize the kitchen was now silent. Steve and Bucky looked thoroughly concerned about your wellbeing, Natasha and Sam were struggling not to laugh, Vision looked as confused as you've ever seen him, and Tony was back to staring at the ceiling.
"What? Did you all know the 2 by 4 variation?" You questioned lightly as you poured a glass of orange juice.
"I don't even want to ask." Tony quipped.
"I do! Please, do share." Sam piped in, enjoying the spectacle.
"I hate you. You hate me. Let's get together and kill Barney. With a baseball bat and a 2 by 4, no more purple dinosaur." Nat and Sam lost control, finally bursting into laughter.
"Sweetheart, you sang these as a kid?" Bucky asked, the worry clear in the furrow of his brow.
"Yeah." You shrugged, popping a few blueberries into your mouth. "We all sang them on the playground."
"This explains so much about the current generation." Steve mumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose as if he could feel the headache coming on.
"Can we get back to what's important here?" Tony questioned, arms flailing.
"You need more songs? Um, there's the Jingle Bells one about batman or the one about getting stitches. London Bridge! That one's a classic, didn't even need to parody it to make it dark. Or, the one about the old man hitting his head and dying. I'm sure I could think of more..." The second you paused to think of more songs, Tony interrupted you.
"No! Because I don't need messed up parodies to sing to my child!" Tony grew louder as he grew more frustrated.
"Oh, you want songs to sing to Morgan? Why didn't you just ask?" You laughed, already forming a list in your head. "You could do Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift, although you might cry. There's also all the Disney songs, like The Bare Necessities or Be Our Guest. Uh, for more of an actual children's song... This Old Man?" You looked at Tony, trying to gage if he knew the song. When his eyebrows pulled together, you decided to just sing it for him.
"This old man, he played one. He played one on my thumb. With a knick-knack patty whack, give a dog a bone. This old man came rolling home. Then it keeps going with the counting: two shoe, three knee, so on."
Tony nodded, taken aback by your knowledge of children's songs.
"You could also go more old school, Here Comes the Sun was popular in my house. I always think of my dad now when I hear it." You smiled, once again lost in the memories of your youth.
"Finally, some suggestions that could help. I'm leaving now, before you jump into any more songs about Barney." Tony left in a hurry, a new list of songs to appease Morgan's desire for more variation in his head.
"Do you have anymore songs about Barney?" Sam questioned, loving the expression Bucky wore when you sang about violently killing the children's icon.
"Nope, sorry." You continued making breakfast, still thinking it was normal.
"Alright, then I'd like to hear the old man one." Wanda chimed in, curiosity piqued.
"A classic." You chuckled. "It's raining. It's pouring. The old man is snoring. He went to bed, and bumped his head, and didn't get up in the morning."
"He died?!" Bucky was appalled. Steve's expression of disgust mixed with worry matched perfectly.
"You haven't even heard the Mary had a little lamb one!" You cackled, enjoying teasing the super soldiers.
"This has got to be good." Nat shook her head, a playful glint in her eye.
"Mary had a little lamb. It's heart was black as coal. It crept into her room one night and ate her fucking soul."
Sam nearly choked on his coffee as he Wanda, and Nat laughed. Bucky and Steve grew more desperate to move on. Vision watched with a curious gaze, always open to learning new things. Bucky and Steve simply stared.
"You clearly didn't resonate with Lilo when she laid on the floor to die at the ripe old age of five. We'll watch Lilo & Stitch next."
"Your childhood was messed up." Bucky finally joined in on the laughter. Meanwhile, Steve still looked utterly thrown.
"Next you're going to tell me there's one about eating Humpty Dumpty." Steve complained, eyes going wide as you grinned.
"Well..."

Loki Imagine: "Starting Now"
tw: rather large age gap, swearing, major angst
fluff, angst
Loki x Stark!Reader
You were seventeen when you met Loki Laufeyson. And you must admit... you had a bit of a crush on him. He was being kept prisoner by S.H.E.I.L.D, his power too great and his blood lust overpowering. You found him... interesting.
It only took a couple of tries before Nick Fury found out you were spying on Loki. You would study his mannerisms. For a god, he was quite... human. But, that was before there was a code put on the door, one that was made to keep you away from him.
It had never been explained to you in detail exactly what Loki had done, and you were too busy doing other 17-year-old things to turn on the news. So, Banner kept you as distracted from the trickster god as possible, showing you anything and everything he could in the lab. But, you would occasionally see Loki being escorted to and from his cell, peering into the lab... grinning at you. You couldn't help it, you wondered what he was like... you'd also wondered what those beautiful black locks felt like through your fingers. But those thoughts were just fantasies... ones that would never come true.
You had never been close to anyone capable of that before, capable of killing. Let alone someone who had wanted to do it. But you were a fool... a child. You didn't understand Loki, you didn't understand what he'd done. Not that anyone had bothered to clue you in.
After things got out of control, Tony, your father sent you back to New York where you would stay with Pepper and train for the next three years. Where you would learn how to help your father. Learn how to be an Avenger.
You were nineteen when you saw him again. His hair had gotten longer and his face had aged, but the biggest change was that he was no longer considered an enemy of the Avengers. Now, he was simply accompanying his brother to the compound.
It was almost noon when you first woke up and began making breakfast. It was your day off and you were going to do your favorite activity: sleep.
"My, my" a velvet voice said from behind you, "look who grew up."
You didn't need to turn around to know who was speaking. You grinned and continued to smear butter on your toast. "For the God of Mischief, you really aren't very good at sneaking up on people."
You turned and threw the butter knife, it pierced the wall right above his head. He stood with his eyes wide, his shock was unjustified. For one, if you had wanted to hit him you would; two, he had to have known what you had been doing all these years, what your father required of you.
You took him in as he sauntered through the kitchen, leaning against the bar. He was in desperate need of a haircut, the black locks fell to his shoulders. He wore his traditional solid black suit, not a hint of color. Not even his signature forest green.
He looked tired... as if it had been not two years but twenty. Age had gone well with him though. He looked mature, as though the youthful pranks had stopped a long time ago, like the power-hunger had disappeared.
You smirked, "You've gotten old."
"Two years isn't that long, Y/n." He reached over his head and yanked the knife out of the wall, leaving a small hole. Pepper would kill you for that later. Worth it.
You took the knife from his hand. "It is when you're getting old and fat," you retorted.
Loki chuckled, "You are your father's daughter."
You rolled your eyes, "Did you need something? Or do you enjoy seeing the mental agony you inflict upon me?"
"Actually, I was looking for your father."
You pointed your knife towards the elevator at the other end of the room, "Lab. Lower level. You should be familiar with that wing." The wing he had been kept prisoner in. The wing you had strolled down almost every day when you were seventeen just to catch a glimpse of the handsome prisoner.
"Thank you, darling," he replied as he strolled over to the elevator. He smiled and gave you a wink before the doors slid shut. You rolled your eyes.
Darling? Absolutely not.
Dinner was the most awkward thing that you've ever been forced to sit through. The fear of Loki and his manipulation loomed over the table like fog. Steve was watching him like a feral animal that would attack at any second. As if he were a venomous snake ready to strike at any given moment.
"So," Thor cleared his throat awkwardly, "Y/n, your father tells me you've been training in New York. How's that going?"
"It's a lot of work but it's a nice way to spend time," you said through a bite of mashed potatoes. "Right now I'm focusing more on science so I can help Bruce and dad. But Natasha is really wanting to do more combat training with me."
"Y/n fights now?" Loki asked, grinning at you.
You shrugged, "Not much, but I could definitely kick your ass."
"Could you now? I suppose we'll have to put that to the test, won't we Miss Stark?" Loki said with a wink.
Natasha laughed, "Y/n is a bit too soft right now. Once she gets over her fear of actually hurting someone I think she'll be an excellent fighter."
"The knife she threw at me this morning must have been an expression of that fear."
"Y/n Stark!" Pepper said from the other end of the table, "You did not put that hole in my wall."
"He was annoying me!" You said defensively.
"He annoys everyone, you don't see Tony throwing silverware at his head."
"No he just blasts him to hell with his suits," you deadpanned.
Pepper looked at Tony. "You see where she gets it? I told you seventeen was too young for training. I told you that the violence would rub off on-"
"Can we not argue at the table, please?" You said, looking back and forth between your father and Pepper.
She rolled her eyes, "Fine. But you're going to fix that wall young lady."
"Fine," you sighed with a roll of your eyes. You caught Loki grinning at you from across the table and went back to picking at your food.
"Here I was thinking we were going to have a civilized dinner," Loki chuckled.
Cap scoffed, "Civilized?"
"Cap," your father said with a warning tone.
"What?" Steve said defensively, "I'm just wondering where a murderer gets off saying anything about being civilized."
"That's rich coming from you," Loki retorted. "Do I need to remind you of all the innocents you killed in Sokovia? So many lives sacrificed in the name of doing the right thing."
"Brother!" Thor snapped.
"I'm just trying to level the playing field," Loki grinned. "If I'm going to be put on trial, perhaps everyone else should get off their high horse as well?"
"We have never been on the same level, Loki." Steve snapped, "You tried to conquer this planet. You lied, manipulated, stole, killed innocent humans. All because you wanted a power trip. That wasn't Sokovia, we thought we were doing the right thing, all you wanted to do was the wrong thing. All you wanted to do was kill."
"You speak as though I don't have the ability to change," Loki leaned his elbows on the table. "Isn't that what being on this planet is all about? Second chances?"
"Not for murderers," Steve spat.
You didn't know Loki well... but to the extent that you did know him, you knew that when he was embarrassed he also got angry and violent. But not this time. Loki was the picture of serenity and calm as he stood from his spot at the table. "I see how it is," he muttered, "I suppose I should have just stayed... gone."
With that... he left.
It was 3 AM by the time you left your room again. For no other reason than to break into Thor's cookie stash. He was convinced it was your father that had been stealing from him... wrong Stark.
You prayed that nobody would find you digging in the pantry for two reasons. One: Thor would kill you for stealing his snacks; two, you were in your underwear and a tank top. Anyone other than Pepper seeing you in this state would be humiliating.
But, of course, you can never get what you want. Behind you, you heard soft footsteps padding their way into the kitchen.
"I didn't realize you'd be awake," the masculine voice said from behind you. You turned and saw Loki, shirtless in low-hanging black sweatpants. You did your best to force your eyes away from the dark trail of hair below his belly button and into his pants.
As your eyes met his, you could see the light blush on his cheeks. Fuck, he'd caught you staring. He cleared his throat, "I just thought I'd make some tea. For some reason, I don't sleep well in Midgard."
"Perhaps it's all the memories," You muttered as he stood next to you at the counter.
"For christ's sake, Y/n," he slammed his mug down onto the counter, "I am not that person anymore, you know that."
"Do I?" You turned to face him, "You killed innocent people, Loki. You killed children-"
"I know what I did," he sighed, putting his head in his hands, "I'm trying to fix it. I want to be better than I was."
"Loki we can't just trust you," the tea was long forgotten at this point, the water had probably gone cold, "not after what you did."
Loki huffed and yanked the butcher knife out of the block, placing it in your hand. He wrapped his hand around yours and put the knife to his chest, only a little pressure would need to be applied in order for it to tear his skin.
"Loki, what are you-"
He shushed you, "I am literally putting my life in your hands. I want you to see that I am done hurting people, and if you killing me is how to prove it, then so be it."
You tried to pull away but he pulled you back in with enough force to make your knees buckle. You weren't looking at the knife against his pale, muscular chest. But his blue eyes that were begging you to acknowledge his sincerity.
Your grip on the kitchen knife loosened. It clattered to the floor as you wrapped your arms around him, pressing your face into his warm chest. "I don't want to hurt you," you whispered.
You felt him sigh in relief, "I don't want to hurt anyone either. If anyone here is willing to trust me, I want it to be you."
"Why me?"
He pulled away and cupped your face in his hands, "Because you are the first truly good person I've met on this planet. You give me hope, Y/n." He pressed a kiss to your forehead.
"You don't have to be that person ever again, Loki," you kissed his Adam's apple gently, "I promise I will help you through this."
You felt him lean down slightly, wrapping his arms around your waist to pull you up to meet him. You immediately felt your breath hasten. You had been fantasizing about this moment since you were in high school... and now it was about to happen. Loki, God of Mischief, was about to kiss you at 3 AM in the kitchen of the Avengers compound.
Before you could take another breath, his lips were against yours. His lips were soft like you'd always imagined they'd be, and his mouth was hot like the rest of him. He groaned into the kiss when your tongue brushed against his. You raked your fingers through his hair.
He parted his lips from yours in order to lift you onto the counter, standing in between your legs, his hands trailing up your sides.
"Wait, wait," you gasped as you pulled your lips from his, "How do I know you're not about to use me?"
Loki smiled and tucked some stray hair behind your ear, "I'll never lie to you, my darling. I'll be good for you... starting now."
You pressed your forehead against his and kissed the tip of his nose, "Starting now."

At the beginning of age of avengers, someone assumes that Tony is the leader and he corrects them and say that it’s Steve.
And that surprised me because I assumed that Steve and Tony were co-leaders, but no, Steve was CHOSEN as the leader of the avengers. I was about to say that Tony was second in command, but I’m assuming that’s Nat.
But, as surprised as I was about this revelation (I literally hadn’t seen the movie in 8 years until 3 days ago), it instantly made sense.
As much as the anti Steve crowd hates on Steve, on several occasions we’ve seen Steve not only inspire people, but also get them to follow him. After someone commits to following Steve, they’re typically loyal to him.
We do not see this with Tony.
The issue with Tony isn’t that he’s flawed and has trauma, it’s how he treats others and how he processes trauma. When you lash out at others, ignore them, insult them (for your own amusement); don’t consider anyone else, etc, you more times than not will alienate people who are ok your side or, at least, want to be. A person having trauma doesn’t excuse how they treat others. And there is only so long most will people up with that behavior before leaving, which is their right.
I believe the only person who stayed by Tony’s side no matter what was Happy. Tony and Rhodey commonly fought and Rhodey even sided against Tony as well. Pepper had to take a break from Tony due to his own actions.
People can forgive flaws, but often struggle to forgive habitual poor behavior and various transgressions that comes with it.
We cannot except people to respect Tony or want to follow when he makes a joke about the PTSD (Capsickle), their traditional clothes (Thor), job endangerment (Rhodey; Tony made a transphobic joke about an event that didn’t happen), as well as sexual remarks (Natasha). And that’s not all that he did. This goes beyond being flaws, especially when you’re supposed to work with these people and they’re allegedly your friends.
He also doesn’t tell anyone about his trauma and OFTEN deflects, which may include insults or cracking inappropriate jokes. No one should have to deal with that all because someone is traumatized, especially as ALL OF THEM are dealing with their own and equally valid trauma.
Comparatively, Steve does not do that.
The people who work with Steve and are friends with him take him seriously. They support him and he supports them.
We see this going back to the 1940s. Peggy believed in Steve based off of his resilience and faith of convictions. She challenges him when he accepts his current circumstances.
After Steve saves literally over 400 men by himself, he earns the respect of not only colonel Phillips, but the men he saved as well. When he says he wants to pick his own team, in addition to the wish being respected, the chosen men flat out say that they’d follow Cap anywhere.
This must be stressed: these men were held prisoner and knew they’d encounter the most dangerous weapon and men in the entire war and readily agreed because Captain America asked.
In winter soldier, Steve is declared a criminal and is on the run. When he breaks into the shield headquarters, he gives his speech and EVERYONE minus hydra agents refuse to launch the coded because Captain America explain to them that some dangerous shit was going down. They believed his word because his actions and his character is THAT respected.
See the trend here: people listening and following Steve because they believe he’s genuine and wants to do what’s right.
In age of ultron, we hear a reference that he was chosen as leader. The events in this movie proves why Steve was chosen and Tony wasn’t.
Whether or not you believe Tony was right to crested ultron, he still should’ve told his team what Wanda made him see AND explained why he wanted to create this tech/weapon. Instead, he deliberately kept it a secret and pressured Bruce into helping him. Ironically, despite the claims that Steve feels like he knows that’s best, this is exactly what Tony assumes.
Let’s be clear: not only are Steve, nat, Bruce, hawk eye, and Thor adults, they are also avengers as well. They don’t need Tony to protect them and they all of the capabilities of deciding if they want to do something dangerous and risk their lives. And it’s ego centric as hell for him to actually believe that Steve, of all people, would guilt him by saying he should’ve saved them. Steve wouldn’t have done such a thing both saying that or even making Tony feel bad if he did all he could do.
Despite creating his murder bot due to not consulting his team because he knew they’d say no, Tony did it AGAIN.
Again, where’s the leadership? Where’s the accountability? Where’s the understanding that he may not like the answer, but he does owe it to his team to talk to them? And, again, he thinks he knows what’s best.
What does Steve do in this same movie? The twins start fighting besides him, which he doesn’t interfere with because ultron is the bigger threat. But, rather than fight them like his instinct tells them, he stop and listens to what they have to say.
I want to note that people like to say (and some are thinking), it’s good that Tony built what eventually became ultron, well, it’s good that Steve extended a hand to the twins. They also played a huge role in why the world didn’t lose half its popular, which was a consequence of Steve’s decision making.
Once Steve heard them out and was willing to let them into the fold, he defended them when other avengers tried to attack them. He didn’t leave them out to dry.
Then, when the actual fight happens Tony reveals a few minutes in that they have no other options but to abandon civilians and let them die.
Steve flat out refuses that as an option and makes the PERSONAL decision to stay until every civilian is safe. Not one person will be left to die.
I don’t know about anyone else, but Steve comes off as the clear leader and Tony doesn’t.
What happens next is that literally every current avenger and the twins stay to help. Nat literally tells Steve that this would be a beautiful place to die and explicitly says she’s fighting alongside him.
Whether or not Steve spoke to people, he inspired them to follow him by his actions.
Who is inspired to follow Tony?
Tony flirts with retirement, which no criticism against that.
But, alongside nat, Steve personally trains Sam, Rhodey, and Wanda for team avengers. After accepting Wanda into the fold, he treats her life everyone else.
In civil war, Steve was hands on with wandas training so she could control her power and made sure was protected. He accepted responsibility for not accounting for unforeseen threats, such as the explosives and explained to Wanda the realities of their job. He was realistic with her, but used that as motivation as to why they should strive to be better. Steve was outraged when he found out that she was locked up and freed her from Tony’s unlawful imprisonment.
Even if someone argues she should be locked up, Tony did not talk to her. Wanda didn’t consent to being confined to the house. This is another example of believing he knew what was best for people rather than talking to them and seeing how they feel. He isn’t giving others the right to make informed decisions for themselves and in general.
Steve, on the other hand, consistently considers what people feel because he TALKS to people. He has meaningful conversations with people, such as nat and Sam. Steve formed connections to people, which made them feel close to him.
But, let’s circle back to Tony, he takes a MINOR without the explicit consent of his guardian. Not only does he take Peter without May’s permission, he takes Peter OVERSEAS and to fight at that.
To make matters worse, Peter doesn’t know WHY he’s fighting or what for.
Where’s the oversight or accountability in any of that?
During the fight, someone flat out asks how old Peter is. Tony follows up after the fight, during homecoming, with almost inviting Peter to stay at the avengers compound. As a reminder, Peter was still a literal teenager and Tony still DID NOT ask peter’s guardian if this was okay.
Where as Steve explicitly tells people what they are getting into. He lays out what to expect and that you have a choice in it. Steve never pressures people into helping him and they usually volunteer. And, whatever happens afterwards, he’s there for them.
How was Tony’s mentorship with Peter?
He’s not actively involved with Peter after taking him in as a mentee, pawns him off in Happy, thinks at status reports are sufficient, and ignored Peter’s concerns. Peter was a minor who just had the most surreal experience of his life and Tony doesn’t think this kid would be amped and itching to do more?
Tony doesn’t think Peter might need some hands on mentorship? Tony thought he could mentor from afar with updates and camera footage, but it actually engage.
Them damned accords!
Tony signed the document due to guilt and tried to get others to sign it despite him being mostly responsible for why the accord even exist or, at least, did a lot of shit that is now being penalized. I’m not sure if he actually read it OR if someone summarized the point.
Whereas Steve DID read the accords and his stance wasn’t one of guilt, but concern and ethical issues with what’s in the accords. Steve was prepared to retire because his beliefs didn’t align with what was being asked of him and others. He didn’t ask anyone to back or follow him.
But, people do eventually back him and follow his lead. They know exactly what they’re getting into. And, despite knowing the risks and eventually getting arrested, they stick to their convictions.
When Tony finds out that Bucky killed his parents, despite knowing that Bucky was brainwashed for LITERALLY decades, he tries to kill him. When cap realizes this, he constantly tries to neutralize Tony.
Let’s go back. Steve knowing that Bucky needs to be arrested, decides to save Bucky both for Bucky’s protection AND so those trying to bring him in doesn’t get hurt/killed. Once Bucky is safely arrested, Steve lets the situation go.
Oh, before I really get into infinity wars, there is no mention of Wanda harming other people even accidentally. :)
Tony, as usual, ignores what others wanted, like strange, and think he knows what’s best. He plans to fight thanos henchman by himself as well as thanos completely ignoring the concept of teamwork. (He also jumps to insulting others for his own shits and giggles—keep in mind, these are people he doesn’t know).
What does Steve do?
He was successfully on the run with nat and Sam and they worked together as a TEAM to save vision. They then meet up with rhodey and formulate a plan as to how to stop thanos. Steve coordinates with various people to have the battle in Wakanda. He doesn’t assume he can fight thanos by himself or should.
Steve refuses to trade lives because every life is valuable.
When the Snap happens, Tony fucks up into his cabin in the woods and lives his life.
And what does Steve do?
Run a support group to keep hope alive for people who are trying to see the best in a shitty situation.
He stays an avenger and does whatever needs to be done because he’s there to serve the people regardless of the despair he feels.
Don’t get it twisted, Steve is not perfect, but he constantly led by example, put the wants and needs of others before himself, was a hands on mentor, listened and supported others, and refused to leave anyone behind and/or die. He was always willing to be the only man fighting the battle and even to die for his beliefs.
And this man is called selfish by some.
Where as Tony consistently believed he knew what was best for others, was willing to let people die, was a shit mentor, mocked and ridiculed others, put his own feelings first, etc.
And this is seen as a leader???
Let’s not forget that dangerous tech he left to a MINOR after he died. Peter was so overwhelmed by the responsibility, he gave it to the first person who listened to him and who he believed to be responsible. This isn’t a condemnation of people. Again, his a literal minor—15 or 16. Who is overwhelmed about the shit stark left on his shoulders.
When old cap spoke to Sam, he gave AN ADULT, his shield. One with loved experiences and who knew how to handle complicated feelings. He knew what Sam was willing to handle and could handle.
And another thing: the fact that people were willing to go on the run with Steve says a lot. This is the second time Steve has been on the run and people, Sam and nat, were willing to follow him and assist (both times).
Tony couldn’t even get people to stay faithful to the legal accords. Rhodey said peace out as soon as cap returned. Nat abandoned Tony to join Steve. Vision questioned his life choices, and then went black to be with Wanda. And Peter didn’t know what the fuck was going on.
And Tony stans think he should’ve been leader based off of using his money for the avengers and giving them a place to crash.
LOL!
People want Wanda to apologize to Tony for invading his mind when he should apologize for her parents dying. If you’re a weapons manufacturer, there’s no such thing as believing only the “good guys” will use your weapons. You know your weapons could and will get into the wrong hands. And you also know that without war, you’d be out of a job. But, also the “good guys” are usually imperialist who fuck over other countries as they undermined these government structures to steal resources from them and other shit.
Just because starks stopped manufacturing weapons doesn’t mean he can escape accountability for what his weapons did to others.
Tony also ratted out that Clint had a family and was fine with them being jailed because they took the “wrong” side. Did he apologize to any of these people? The ones he had jailed and the ones who were forced to go on the run for a bill he supported, and then admitted was fucked up? (The same law he later broke twice.)
But, he’s a leader???

Rumor Has It (7)
Tumblr media
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 |
Series Masterlist
Carol Danvers Masterlist
A/N: This is the last part of this series, kinda sad about it, I’ll prolly end up writing an epilogue like I did for Pretend later
Most would think losing someone is the worst thing that can happen, in reality, not knowing if you’re going to lose someone is the worst thing. You didn’t know if Carol was going to be okay or not as you paced in front of her hospital room and Maria tried to tell you to calm down. You didn’t know if she would blame you after waking up from the anesthetics.
“Y/n, it’s going to be okay.” Maria comforted, sitting on one of the waiting chairs, a little exasperated from watching you pace, you were a good friend of hers and her best agent, probably her favorite.
“You don’t know that, she already flatlined once.” You murmured, continuing to pace the room.
“Their equipment glitched, you know that.” Maria stated, you did know that, but it still scared the shit out of you when you heard the line go flat for a second.
“Is she okay?” Natasha Romanoff asked as she turned the corner into the hospital, Maria stood up.
It had been a few months since Carol had moved into the compound with the Avengers and the stones had been used to bring everyone back, including Natasha. Vision was the only one missing. You still found it hard to process the reality of the entire Avengers team standing next to you.
“She’s stable.” Maria answered, everyone looked through the window, moving past you to look at her, she looked peaceful from the outside, the doctors had just finished taking the bullet out, it had seemed the bullet was a shrapnel, it had divided itself into 5 different parts, which is why the procedure took long.
“Hi, I’m Steve.” Steve said, holding his hand out for you to shake, you shook it and introduced yourself.
“So you’re y/n.” Natasha said, you raised an eyebrow as all the Avengers turned to face you.
“You know about me?” You asked tentatively, you noted Maria smirking slightly before they replied.
“Maria and Fury haven’t been able to stop talking about you for Christ’s sake.” Tony Stark stated, holy shit Tony Stark knew about you.
“They even had me set up a room for you after this mission was over,” He said, holding out his metal plated arm for you to shake. “I’m Tony.”
“A room?” You asked, shaking his hand and looking around in confusion. They all nodded, mouths quirking upwards into a smirk.
“Fury and Maria want you to come live with us.” Steve stated, your eyes widened.
After you got your partner shot, after the entirety of SHIELD except the top dogs hated you, they wanted you to become an Avenger, guilt flooded your system as you looked at Carol, sighing before answering.
“I don’t, I don’t think I deserve that after this,” You gestured to where Carol was lying down. “A week ago I would’ve been happy to, but I don’t think I should, thank you for the offer.” A frown went on all of their faces.
“Y/n, I saw the surveillance files, what happened wasn’t your fault,” Maria stated, you opened your mouth to argue but she cut you off. “If you hadn’t been there, or if it was any other agent, maybe even an Avenger, Carol wouldn’t be alive.”
“She’s right,” Fury said from behind you, you whirled around to face him, he flicked his eye at Carol’s state and back to you. “You’re the best I’ve got, you deserve this.”
“But-”
“That’s an order y/n.” Maria stated in a tone which allowed no arguments, she was still smirking at you.
“I’ve never been ordered to join the Avengers before.” You muttered, Nick laughed a little and put his hand on your shoulder before leaving with Maria to deal with the rest of the mission details, you’d promised to file in a mission report eventually.
Some of the Avengers stayed with you, making small talk, Tony suggested to move into your room, you decided to do it later, needing to apologize to Carol before. Eventually they all left and the doctors let you into the room, you sat in the waiting chair, guilt and hope for the future demanding you stay by her side. Your eyes eventually fell shut after a few hours, guilt and exhaustion eventually weighing down on you.
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
You woke up gasping, your dreams were filled with the room you’d been in, with Carol bleeding, the men you had shot dying, the groans and the smell of blood filling your senses, you squint your eyes shut and tried to get your breathing under control, willing the sights out of your head.
“You okay?” Carol asked softly from her bed, you opened your eyes to find her sitting in bed, a book in her hands as she looked at you with worry in her eyes.
“Nightmare.” You answered quickly, offering her a glass of water for her to wave it off.
“How are you feeling?” You asked, putting the glass down and standing up nervously, only to sit back down, your body not quite rested yet.
“Good actually, I heard about you moving in with us.” Carol said with a smile, the smile fading when she saw your expression of guilt as you didn’t meet her eyes.
“What’s wrong?” she asked, you looked up at her, trying your best to keep eye contact this time.
“I don’t think I deserve it,” You answered softly. “I got you shot, and everyone keeps saying that if I wasn’t there you would be dead but-” You were pacing in the tiny room now, hands coming up to grasp your hair.
“I would,” Carol said, you looked at her, sincerity filled her eyes. “Y/n, if you weren’t there, I would be dead, the guys you shot would have killed me, there was no way I could’ve fended them all off and called backup.”
“I-”
“Don’t you dare argue with a patient.” Carol joked, you laughed a little, knowing Carol wouldn’t let you argue more about this, butterflies erupting in Carol’s stomach at the sound. “You know, this wasn’t how I expected this mission to end.” You thought aloud, sitting down in the waiting chair, scooting it closer to Carol.
“What’s the difference between the way you expected and now?” Carol asked, putting her book on the side table next to the glass.
“Well, I didn’t expect to become an Avenger,” You thought aloud, exhaustion making you lose your filter. “And I didn’t expect to move into the same building as crush who had happened to be my partner-”
Carol’s eyes widened as she smirked, a blush growing across your face as you were about to hurry to leave.
“Wait!” Carol shouted, but you were already halfway out the doorway. “I have a crush on you too!” She shouted, you stopped and came back in, eyes wide.
“You’re not pulling my leg?” You asked timidly, still standing in the doorway with your head peeking inside.
“You think I can get off the bed to do that?” Carol joked, then realized it was a bad joke. “Sorry, bad joke, you like me anyways, right?” “You’re literally Carol Danvers,” You stated, Carol’s heart bloomed when you didn’t say ‘Captain marvel’ or ‘superhero’, but instead you liked her for the person she was.
“How could I not?” You joked, plopping back down in the chair next to her. “You still like me despite the rumors right?” “Rumor doesn’t always have it.” Carol joked, you laughed, Carol laughed with you even though it hurt, happy because you were.
Both of you talked for another hour, hearts filled with hope for the future. Carol knew she wouldn’t always have time for a relationship, but for you, she was willing to do anything, even erase all the rumors, because after all, you proved that Rumors aren’t always right.
A/N: sorry the last parts are always worse than the middle parts, feedback is still great tho!

Avenger Wrecks Billion Corporation Building.
Newest Addition to the Avengers is Well Below Qualification Ranks.
Are the Avengers Becoming a Joke?
President Issues a Statement Regarding New Avenger: “Y/N Y/L/N is a Hazard to Our Country!”
The headlines wouldn’t stop, they were getting so repetitive. You get it, you suck, as an Avenger and as a person in general. Why do they all hate you so much? You’ll never understand why. It all started when James Rhodes hired you on as an Avenger. With Natasha Romanoff and Tony Stark’s passing and the retirement of Steve Rogers, S.H.I.E.L.D was looking to recruit a new member for the Avengers. You weren’t exactly top of your class strength wise, your skills excelled with computers and different types of technology. Needless to say, you had no real place on the team, unless they thought you were a gamma infected being that was holding out on everybody, you rendered useless.
Why do you put yourself down like this? Well, the other recruits were telling you the same thing, to your face and behind your back, when Fury considered you to be in the running for the Avengers. You were just as surprised as everyone else had been when you got a final nomination to join. It was between you and a highly respected and highly decorated S.H.I.E.L.D agent. You don’t know how you managed to get that far, but considering you blew everyone else out of the water when it came to cooking up concoctions in the scientific portion of the tests and memorizing how Tony Stark built numerous Iron Man suits, from a heap of scrap metal to glorious nanotechnology, the other recruits never stood a chance.
The team of remaining Avengers were shocked and impressed that you managed to make it as far as you did, truth be told you were too. When it came down to you and the other agent, Fury urged the team to really think about who they wanted. The votes were tied, but some poor soul thought you had potential to be an actual Avenger. What that same soul didn’t realize was with an uncoordinated member came dozens of heavily opinionated jerks from every walk of life criticizing your every move.
There was a small group of people that supported you. They tried their best to defend you, but that small group was always taken over by the tsunami that was late night television commentators and early morning local news reporters. It was safe to say, the majority didn’t like you.
Day after day you would train your ass off trying to get stronger. You were getting better, but you weren’t the best. You wish you could quit, but you were already in too deep.
The building was an accident. You didn’t mean to destroy it, however it was a building that was on the midst of foreclosure, which meant no casualties were harmed because no one was inside. Despite this important fact, the media ran with it and was quick to try and call you a cold blooded killer. Not true, not even a little bit, that at least was James Rhodes would tell you.
The others liked you. Sure, those who weren’t too keen on you took a while to warm up, but they all adjusted to your presence quickly. It seemed as though somedays they really did appreciate you. You could tell some were frustrated by you though. For instance, you had overheard a conversation from Clint and Sam voicing rather loudly how they thought you would get yourself killed because of you “careless” fighting style.
Most days you didn’t want to leave your room. You didn’t need to affiliate yourself with the new wave of hate and toxicity the internet and it’s trolls would bring you. You wanted to disassociate yourself from the world, and yourself, for one goddamn day. However, Colonel James Rhodes would not have any of that today.
“Due to light of the recent events from last mission, the Senate is ordering us to hold a press conference.” Rhodey announces which caused collective groans from the group.
“Do we all have to be present?” Clint asked slouching in his chair. He really didn’t feel like facing the ravenous press today.
“Well, actually, only myself, Bucky, Sam, and Y/N will be attending the press conference today.” You froze in your seat. A panic attack threatening to rise within you. The feeling of the teams eyes all landing on you. You’ve never had to be at the press conferences before. Usually it was only Sam and Rhodey taking the lead.
“Kid, you’ll do fine. Just give simple and minimal answers to the press. Don’t answer any questions you don’t want to. If anything, we’ll answer them for you.” Rhodey put his hand on your back before walking away to get ready.
You always had stage fright. Ever since 5th grade when you misspelled that one really long and complicated word. Everyone in the crowd was laughing at you, at least to your imagination. You remember specifically Marcy Hunter making fun of you and taunting you for weeks. Calling you stupid, getting the whole grade to think you were stupid, saying you were one of the biggest losers on planet ea-
“Hey, you ready?” Sam looked at you with concern.
“Yeah, yeah. Let’s just get this over with.” You muttered nervously.
The millions of flashing cameras and yelling journalists did nothing to ease your confidence. Every single one of them were up in arms about what had happened. No one was hurt, so why were they all acting as if a mass murder took place.
“Colonel Rhodes, are there any updates regarding a body count from the premises of the building.” Someone shouted
“For the last and final time, no one was in that building. It was already cleared for months before we got to it.” Rhodey looked annoyed as ever. Same questions same answers. They were just looking for an opportunity to rip on you.
One woman eyed you up and down with her evil eyes. She was waiting patiently to get the mic and rip you limb from limb. She finally got it after about an hour into the conference.
“Ms. L/N, how do you think this mishap will affect on the citizens of New York?” She was going somewhere with this wasn’t she?
“Well,” you cleared your throat, “as Colonel Rhodes has mentioned, the building was cleared and the citizens surrounding the area were promptly evacuated.” Sam nodded his head in approval.
“So does this mean there has been no discussion of your removal from the team?” What?
“I’m sorry?” You questioned.
“Well, it just seems destruction follows you wherever you go. I mean for Christ sake a billion dollar building collapses and you aren’t even the slightest bit worried that you dm could’ve killed people.” She was evil. The way her lips curled into a devilish smirk.
“Like I’ve told the other reporters, building was empty and no civilians were near the scene.” Rhodey was getting annoyed now.
“What I’m trying to say is, did you all really think it was a good idea to have someone with so little experience play with the big boys. It seems as though she doesn’t even know what she’s doin-“ The bitch was immediately cut off by Bucky.
“Okay, that’s enough out of you, out of all of you. Y/N is an Avenger whether you like her or not. We voted to have her on the team, not you or you or any of you for that matter. I’m so sick and tired of seeing headline after goddamn headline about how “incapable” she is. Can’t you people focus your attention on, I don’t know, literally anything else in this goddamn world besides her. She’s made some mistake, we all have, just because she’s an Avenger doesn’t mean she’s not human like the rest of us. I swear to God I will personally rip to shreds everyone single news article that runs one more negative thing about her. So if you all can understand where I’m coming from, shut the fuck up about her and write something else. We are done here.” Bucky looks out fo the crowd angrily. The rooms falls silent after you all get up and exit.
It was late in the night and you were pounding it away at the gym. Trying to forget what had transpired at the press conference. You were working up a sweat trying to rid the voices in your head.
You’ll never be good enough.
You’re pathetic.
Failure.
You suck.
Failure.
Sorry excuse for an Avenger.
Failure.
Failure
Fail-
“I thought I was usually the only one up this late.” Your thoughts stopped as Bucky’s voiced echoed from behind you.
“Never thought anyone else came down here this late.” You responded, eyes still focused on the punching bag in front of you.
“Can’t sleep?”
“Never could.” You responded still hitting the punching bag.
Bucky ponders for a moment looking at your sweaty form. You always looked defeated, so helpless, you always thought you were useless. He never thought that though. Bucky always saw something in you, he never saw you like the monsters in the press did.
“Are you okay?” You sensed the concern and sincerity in Bucky’s voice.
“What do you mean?” You tried to act dumb.
“Don’t play coy, Y/N. I know how you feel.”
“How could you possibly know how I feel?”
“Because you’re not the only one who was the media’s favorite chew toy.” You stopped punching the bag as Bucky walks over to you and leads you to the bench.
“I know how it feels, to be an outcast, to be hated by everyone. How do you think the media reacted when the dreaded Winter Soldier was joining the Avengers. Dear God, I had to stay off the internet for weeks, couldn’t even walk down the street without some asshat yelling names at me, calling me a monster.”
You remember the public outcry that rang throughout the world when it was announced that Bucky Barnes, former HYDRA assassin, was joining the Avengers. The media had a field day with him, some even went as far as protesting the front gates of the compound demanding that this evil man be exiled for the crimes he had committed.
“Nobody liked me, and those that did couldn’t even get their message across to the world as to why I was a good guy. I know I’m not perfect, but I’m not evil by any means. It’s taken a while, but I know it wasn’t James Barnes who did those things to those innocent people, it was HYDRA and the Winter Soldier programming.” Bucky had been going through lots of therapy since he was brought back. Steve had insisted that Bucky go to every last therapy session even if it meant he would break out of the retirement home and drag him there himself.
“I was the deciding vote, ya know. When no one else thought you could do it I was the only one who spoke up in your defense.”
“What so the heat could be taken off of you?” You shot back, the little rage bubble in your heart expanding.
“No, stop thinking like that. I know what you may think, that everyone here doesn’t like you, but that’s far from the truth. Everyone here, they warmed up to you, they really do enjoy having you on the team, honest to God. They have their concerns thought.” Oh boy here we go.
“I agree with them on the fighting thing, you were a little choppy at first, but hey, no one is perfect. In fact, I remember one time where Sam crashed his new set of wings into the lake when the new compound was built.” You stifled a laugh.
“Hey, there’s that pretty smile.” Bucky smiled back as you fought a blush.
“You really don’t think I’m useless?”
“Far from it, doll.”
“Then teach me.” You finally looked at Bucky.
“What?”
“Teach me how to fight, how to be like you.” You looked up at him with pleading eyes.
“Doll, no one can be like me, you gotta be your own you.” You sighed.
“But that doesn’t mean I still can’t teach you a few tricks.” You had a wide smile plastered on your face as you hugged Bucky tightly. The first person to show you true compassion since you got here.
“Thank you Buck, thank you.”
“Anytime doll, anytime.”
Two months later…
“C’mon Y/N, let’s move it, just like we practiced.” Bucky yelled at you as you did the kick punch combo again.
It’s been a long two months, but goddamn was it worth it. Slowly, the headlines about you stopped and the people moved on to a new problem. It felt good to not be the center of attention anymore.
Bucky recommended you to a great therapist. Together you and Dr. Han worked through your insecurities and difficulties. Everyday you were getting stronger physically and mentally. Bucky on the other hand enjoyed spending his time with you. Soon enough you became more than just training buddies, you became best friends.
He liked getting to take care of you, helping you defend yourself. Sam always joked that the two of you were doing something more than just training, but there really wasn’t more to it. Bucky saw something more in you, he saw that scrawny little boy from Brooklyn, weak, but had the drive and passion of a soldier. Bucky looked after you as if you were young Steve Rogers, and he’ll be damned if he lets anything happen to you.

AUTHOR: nekoamamori ORIGINAL IMAGINE:
Imagine that you are Stark’s niece and you secretly share a strong relationship with Loki since he entered the crew. One day you get hurt so bad during a mission that you are about to die.  Loki knows a spell that will save you and share his immortality with you but you and he will be linked forever sharing thoughts, pain, emotions…
RATING: T NOTES/WARNINGS:  Also on AO3 click here
Days and weeks passed and Loki didn’t return. There were no notes, no visits, no contact at all. You returned to your life immediately, determined to keep your word to yourself that you wouldn’t become a useless depressed lump over your boyfriend, no matter how much his absence hurt.  You still missed him deeply and your world was lonely without him, but you kept your word. You went on patrols with Tony. You kept up in all of your classwork easily because of the soulbond. You spent time with the other supers.
It was hard, but you managed your life.
You never took the ring Loki had given you off, choosing to hope that one day he would return.
You searched and searched for the spell-book with the portal spell in it, but it was gone. Vanished like it had never existed in this world. You tried to pull the memories of it from the soulbond, to figure out how to open the portal and follow him, but it wasn’t there.
You were cut off.
Your 19th birthday came and went. You allowed yourself tears that day when Loki didn’t come back for you. You had hoped the trouble would be over by then.
You graduated from high school top of the year, which was no surprise since you had access to all of Loki’s memories and knowledge thanks to the soulbond. You and Tony went to take your graduation pictures by your parents’ graves in the cemetery. You even used magic to hold the camera so you could get some shots of yourself and your uncle.
You started college across town and moved into an apartment off campus in Tony’s name. They wouldn’t let a freshman live off campus otherwise, but since it was in your uncle’s name, and he was Tony Stark, they made an exception. It had taken a lot of negotiations with the school and Fury to finally sort your college experience away. Fury wanted you to work full-time for the Avengers. You told him you would after you earned your PhD. You had wanted to be a doctor for so long when you were powerless that you didn’t want to give up on the dream now. You got to test out of most of the classes because of your soulbond with Loki, so you only had a few classes and clinical hours to complete to finish your degree. You could probably do it in a year if you really wanted to. Especially since the school was willing to use your hours healing the Avengers toward your clinical hours. It was a completely illogical plan and there were so many rules broken with it, but in the end, all three parties were happy.
You got an emergency call halfway through one of your lecture courses one day nearly a year after Loki had left. You shut your phone off and stood. You gave a small bow to the Asian professor and an apology. She nodded and the entire class turned to look at you. You had permission to leave all of your classes for emergency calls from the Avengers. You had found out quickly, though, that your disappearances were taken better if you gave them a show when you did. You vanished your bag and sent all of your things back to your apartment. You then used magic to change your clothes to your superhero costume, including the cape you never actually wore as part of it.
“Sigyn!” came the roar of the lecture class. With a bow to them, you teleported back to the compound where the Avengers lived. You actually teleported directly into the infirmary. A safe teleportation spot had been created for you there, and it was extra important now that you lived on your own. You vanished the cape, changing back to normal clothes, and rushed to the emergency bay to find the super who needed your help. It was a brand new kid, one you’d never met before.
“He jumped off of the Metropolis building trying to get his powers,” one of the junior healers told you as you rushed into the room.  Since magic was reintroduced to the world, kids tried stupid things to get latent powers to manifest.  Like jumping off the Metropolis building.
“I really wish someone would put a stop to that,” you replied as you went over to the kid. You placed your hands on him, your hands glowing blue as you healed the broken bones and put the poor kid back together again. Your powers had grown over the last year and you could do this big of a healing now without being useless for the rest of the day. You finished the healing and smiled at the junior healer. “He’ll be ok. Make sure Fury gives him hell for jumping off the Metropolis building,”
She nodded her agreement. “Will do, Healer Sigyn,” she replied. You were still getting used to being called that.  You were so used to just being Kat.  It had been a year of having powers and you still hadn’t really adjusted.
While you was home, you checked in on the other patients and healed a couple who needed it. After that, you went upstairs to see if Tony was home. “Kat!” he called the moment you opened his door. You let him wrap you in a hug, even though Uncle Tony wasn’t really a hugger.
“Uncle Tony, you just saw me two days ago.” you had been called out on patrol with the team just the other night.
“I know, but that’s the only time you ever see you anymore, imp,” he whined.
You smiled and grabbed the other video game controller on his coffee table. “Up for a game?” you asked. He laughed and you settled on his couch to play for awhile.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you. The next Avengers movie is being filmed here next week. Didn’t know if you wanted to stop by.”
You nodded enthusiastically. “Of course I do!” you replied with a grin. You were friends with a couple of the actors and hadn’t seen them in awhile.
“I worry about you, imp,” Tony said after awhile of kicking his ass at video games.
You rolled your eyes. “Why on Earth for? I’m one of the most powerful supers in existence, and the only time I even go on patrol it’s with you,” you reminded him as you proceeded to kill him in the game.
Again.
“You’ve isolated yourself from everyone,” he explained.
“Have not,” you replied stubbornly.
“Name one friend you have at school,”
“That doesn’t mean anything. I’m only going to be there for a year, two tops. It doesn’t make sense to get too attached to those kids,” you replied. It didn’t matter that you were younger than everyone in all of your classes. They still acted like kids.
“And when was the last time you went on a date?” he asked.
You glared at him. “Do you really want to know about my love life?” you demanded, hoping that would get him to drop it.
“No, but you worry about you enough to ask.”
“You know very well when my last date was,” you snarled at him. It was uncalled for to be so mean to your uncle when he was just being nice and asking about you, but it wasn’t nice of him to bring it up either.  He knew that you hadn’t moved past Loki.
You wouldn’t move past Loki.
Loki had promised to return.
And you were soulbound.
He would return.
“That’s what I thought,” Tony rolled his eyes.  “Kat, you can’t just keep waiting around for him to come back. He’s not coming back. It’s been a year.” Tony told you, gentling his tone.
“He will. He promised,” you told him firmly, though your words sounded like a little girl’s dream instead of the words of the strongest super in the world. You set down the controller and touched the ring Loki had given you the night he left before tracing the patterns of magic that went up your arm, marking you as soulbound. Loki had literally bound your souls and lives together to save your life.
“Kat…” Tony said gently.
You just glared at him. “I’m fine, Uncle Tony,” you told him firmly. “I’m sorry I haven’t been around as often, but I’m in college now and living on my own.”
He wrapped you in another hug. “I know. Sorry, Kat. I just worry about you,”
You nodded and hugged him back.  “I know. I don’t mean to worry you.  I really am ok,” you reassured him.
The lie felt hollow in your own mouth.
And no wonder Loki wrinkled his nose at lies. They smelled terrible.

ENDGAMEE SPOILERS!! MY PERSONAL OPINION CAISE I GAVE Y'ALL A COUPLE DAYS TO SEE IT!!
Again endgame spoilers so please scroll past do you don't ruin this amazing experience for yourself.
.
Things that I whole-heartedly enjoyed
The beginning of shock when Thor chopped off Thanos' head like I gasped like wtf.
Nat and Steve sharing the peanut butter sandwich.
Captain Marvels lesbian haircut (not stereotyping but it was a pretty gay haircut mans)
Tony and Morgan's cute ass relationship (I love you 3000)
The theory behind I love you 3000 (Tony said I love you a ton and a ton is 2000 pounds so Morgan said I love you 3000 to say she loves him more)
Steve holding a support group just like Sam did.
Thick Thor
Korg playing fortnite even though that game is from the devil
Clint killing all those bitches and speaking Japanese
Time heist and all the other movie references
The fact that a rat got Scott out of the quantum thingy
America's Ass 🍑
Loki stealing the tesseract
Smart Bruce Banner
FUCKING CAP LIFTING THORS HAMMER ( IDK HOW TO SPELL ITS NAME LOLZ) AND REALIZING HE COULD DO IT ALL ALONG FROM AVENGERS AoU
Cap kicking the shit out of Thanos
"I KNEW IT!"
The way they showed that they got all life back with the trees and the birds was so fucking gorgeous and such a good moment (fite me )
"On your left ."
The way they all came back from being dusted
The "Avengers Assemble" being completed from AoU
Tony and Peters hug scene (shit had me tearing up)
"I am Iron Man
Wanda kicking the shit out of Thanos.
All the MCU women gathering around Peter and looking hot as shit doing it.
"Your father liked cheeseburgers "
Bucky looking hawt as shit the whole time
That's it and maybe when I watch it again I'll gave more things to say but here's for the things I didn't appriciate.
The only gay character was the Russo brother using a male pronoun as a date like tf
Steve telling everyone to move on even when at the end of the movie he was a hypocrite and did exactly the opposite.
The way they explained the quantum physics. Without the visuals (and even with them) I couldn't understand a word of what they were talking about and maybe that's my deal but whateves.
Them not bringing back Vision or Gamora (The current time Gamora) or Loki for good
Bucky and Steve never actually reuniting
They didn't have a funeral for Nat or Vision or Gamora
The "Proof that Tony Stark has a heart" thing only because it tore me up emotionally.
And now for the rest nitty gritty. This is a whole as rant so be prepared.
Fucking Steve and Buckys whole arc got shit on by the Russo brothers. People are saying they did what they did to kill the Stucky ship and that fucking sucks. When I heard there was going to be a gay character my mind went to Steve because deep down I feel like he would except everything because he's Captain America for God sakes. But no they didn't want that so they completely took away their friendship.
I've seen people who don't ship them be pissed at how if ended for Steve. As I said before he fucking was a hypocrite and did what he said not to do. He was fucking over Peggy and I totally rooted for them when it was like the 40s but he literally watched her die in Civil War. She was dead and they were like yeah let's put him back.
Did they forget about all the movies leading up to this one? Let's review
In Captain America: The First Avenger he went against the law and went into a full Hydra compound by himself with only a pistol and a shield just to get Bucky out. Sure he said more people bit Bucky was the one he went for.
In Captain America: The Winter Soldier he let Bucky almost kill him because he wasn't willing to fight his beat friend. Like wtf
In Captain America: Civil War he broke up the Avengers ( and part if that was the accords but they didn't start fighting till Bucky got involved) he became a wanted criminal and kept Bucky killing Tonys parents a secret so Tony wouldn't hurt Bucky. He also almost Killed Tony and gave up his shield for Bucky.
Now, in avengers Endgame his friend since they were children dusted and 5 years he spent without him. He comes back and not even a fucking hug or like how are you doing. (Tony and Spidey hugged so don't give me they didn't have time bullshit)
And then he leaves the rest of his friends behind in the present to go live his life with Peggy who may I remind you already had a husband and fucking kids after Steve "died" and he knew Bucky was being tortured by Hydra and did nothing. Tell me would 2012-2015 Steve do that? I don't think so.
And maybe Bucky did know that Dtsvw was leaving to kid original timeline but do you think he was happy about it. Hell no you could fucking see it in his face when he hugged Steve goodbye.
I don't care that Steve got old (okay maybe a little but it really doesn't bother me) I don't care that he didn't get together with Bucky
What irritate me is the Russos threw away their friendship and they threw away his teams friendship. Like he could retire and have still been there and made a life with another man or woman like they just had to make it so he abandoned his friends on the chance that he would get with Peggy.
It's so unlike his character and they did him fucking dirty like that. Maybe the Avengers spent like what 6 seconds without him but he spent YEARS away and didn't even care. Like that's not the Cap I know so idk can someone rewrite this ending for me please. And Bucky didn't even get the goddamn shield like he should have.
Wow okay that was a lot and I didn't mean for it to be that long but hey here you go!! I hope y'all can see how mad I am behind these tears🙂

The Unpredictable Factor of a Broken Soul
ENDGAME SPOILERS AHEAD: aka, an alternate ending
At this point, Peter was kind of tired. Tired of the constant chaos that surrounded him from even before he opened his eyes. Tired of being part of the crowd. Tired of being the kid on the battlefield. But most of all, he was tired of losing. Losing people, losing battles, losing blood. He was tired of it.
Peter knew that something was going to go badly. He sensed it in the way Doctor Strange frantically told him to get up and he could feel it in his blood that something wasn’t quite right. It was like anxiety but worse and he couldn’t stay still. He could barely process Stranges words. Five years had passed, they need us, blah blah blah… It didn’t matter. He needed to find Mr. Stark. Mr. Stark would know what was going on.
But when he asked the wizard about his mentor, all he got was an unreadable look and an excuse before going through a portal and leaving him on Titan with the aliens. And he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was going to go wrong.
Before the final battle was like the calm before the storm. Time went so slowly. Peter only thought about the people that he didn’t have access to. May, Tony, Ned… MJ… He was too far away. He was in space and that in and of itself was almost too much to wrap his head around. He could hear his rapidly beating heart too clearly and not for the first time, he hated having enhanced senses.
He tried to walk it off. Hoping that his restlessness was only a side effect of coming back from a pile of dust. A few minutes of overthinking later, his enhanced hearing picked up the human looking alien guy yelling for him to come back and that Doctor Strange had opened up another portal.
Peter had never swung with so much purpose. He landed outside of the sparking portal and his metal mask retreated back. It’s not like he needed his secret identity here. He looked around for Tony, ignoring the damaged ground and the debris from the Avengers compound. He also ignored the gigantic alien army that stood like a mile away from them. He didn’t care. He had one goal, but the hint at the back of his mind that something was wrong kept pounding like a hyperactive headache.
Charging into battle was just as terrifying as it usually was, but Peter was swinging in the front lines like the dumbass he was. Not everyone had an indestructible iron suit as he did. Well, he noticed that Ms. Potts did so maybe the trend was growing. Everything was a blur. He was disassociating but his body reacted just as it needed to keep him alive. So far it was fine, he had yet to get more hurt than a few bruises.
His vision tunneled when he saw Mr. Stark. He webbed up the massive guy trying to kill his mentor and raced over to him. Tony looked older, at first, he had doubted the wizards whole timeskip back from the dead thing but his mentor's hair was several shades lighter with a handful of gray hairs covering his scalp.
Tony also looked at him with wistful disbelief but Peter was already talking. He didn’t know what he was talking about, he stumbled over his ramblings until Tony made a face and pulled him into a hug. Peter may not be an empath like the insect girl but he could feel Tonys shuttering breaths and the tightness of the hug only increasing and he realized just how much he meant to his mentor. He managed to stutter out a ‘This is nice.’ before Tony only proved Peters suspicions right by placing a platonic kiss a little below his temple.
Tony had never been an incredibly touchy person so this really meant something. It was more powerful than any words could express. Peter had lost people, he knew what it felt like. He only knew what it felt like getting them back through whatever this emotion osmosis with Tony was.
The hug lasted a long time, Peter knew that Tony needed it to, so he didn’t let go. Breaking the hug was hard but they had a battle raging around them. Reunions couldn’t last forever. He couldn’t hear about the years he had missed yet. Tony still looked at him like he couldn’t believe that he was there. He gently kept his hand on Peters back and seemed afraid that he was going to disappear into dust again.
“You good?” Tony asked.
“Yeah I’m fine, I just woke up from being dead so I think I’m as good as I can be from that.” He stumbled.
“Good enough to keep fighting? Because if not I want you as fucking far away from here as you can be,” Tony said with a hint of fear.
“I’m fine. I’m not letting you guys get all the glory.” Peter smiled a little.
“Don’t do anything stupid,” Tony said as his helmet unfolded onto his face and the battle resumed. They had to part again but Peter really hoped that it wouldn’t be the last time.
Peter couldn’t quite keep track of what was going on. At one point he got the infinity gauntlet and was surrounded by monster guys and he rode on a flying hammer and Pepper gave him a ride before he landed on a pegasus for a bit. His brain wasn’t quite keeping up with the ‘what the fuck’ factor of everything.
At one point, the giant ship in the sky showered the battlefield with blasts of energy that got way to close for comfort and ended up blasting him and the infinity gauntlet into a crater and he could taste his own blood as he curled up in a ball in the only attempt he could think of to keep himself safe. He stayed in the same rigid position even after the battleship exploded and the cause of it stood next to him in the form of a glowing space lesbian.
Considering that he could barely move, he handed off the most powerful weapon in the universe to her. He stumbled back into the debris as he was surrounded by a dozen female heroes. When they all left to escort the gauntlet, he felt his vision fading, only for a moment. He probably had a concussion. The one thing that had stayed constant was the eternal feeling of dread. As if this situation couldn’t get any worse.
It would. He knew that it would. Unless he did something about it. He shakily stood and with a new fear reinforced resolve, he headed towards a bad idea. But it was better than what he knew would happen. He didn’t know how he knew, his spider-sense was never specific but he knew that they wouldn’t be enough. They would never be enough. And he knew that Tony would do anything to protect the future. And anything covered more than Peter was going to sacrifice.
Peter knew what loss was. He had never stopped feeling it. He was not going to feel it fresh again any time soon. An uncharacteristic flaming anger kept this thought alive in his chest. He was in no shape to do what he was going to do, but he knew that if he didn’t, his eternal pre-disaster warning, would be for something out of his control.
He made his way to the mad titan as the inevitable occurred. Thanos had the gauntlet. But it wasn’t on his hand yet and Peter had only a moment to decide if he would go through with his impromptu death wish. He made the fuck it adjustment and decided to fuck it. He launched himself at the most powerful item in the universe and this time he wasn’t going to just hold onto it in hopes that someone more powerful would use it. It was now or never.
“What do you think you’re doing little bug? You think you are anything against me?” The titan almost sounded like he was pitying Peter as they played a failing game of tug-of-war.
“I don’t care what you are! I don’t care who you think you are or what your destiny is! Did you ever wonder why everyone thinks you’re the bad guy?” Peter managed to keep his grip on the gauntlet as Thanos made a face, to a point, not even caring about Peter’s plot. Thinking that he was going to win with a well-timed tug.
“You’re the bad guy because you’re literally the biggest asshole in the universe,” Peter growled and took his shot. He took one of the hands holding onto the oversized gauntlet and threw a hand inside of it. At that moment, Tony had tackled back into Thanos and gave Peter enough time to go past the point of no return.
The red gauntlet adjusted to his size and once it shrunk down, He felt it. The power of all the infinity stones arcing in colored energy up his arm in the most violent pain he had ever felt. Peter couldn’t scream because of his lungs seizing in his chest. The power was like dipping his hand in boiling electrified water and not being able to get it out. But it wasn’t all pain. It was power. He could feel the universe in the palm of his hand. He could feel his senses expanding and it was terrifying.
“Peter!” Tony yelled but it felt too far away. Peter could only look the stunned Titan in the eyes with a rage he had never felt in his life. A rage of innumerable souls screaming for revenge. A rage of Thanos’ victims holding him up, willing him to go through with it. To use the most devastating power in the universe.
“This,” Peter held up his gauntleted arm, “is for everyone you murdered. Including me.” Without any more hesitation, he snapped.
A flash of white and pain. He thought that putting on the gauntlet was painful, that was like getting a stubbed toe compared to using the stones. Every cell in his body felt like it was set on fire and dipped in acid while also being stabbed with a dull knife. For the first time in his life, he wished that he was dead. Anything to stop the pain. Anything to get it over with.
Then the pain was gone. The deed was done. Bad guys everywhere were turning into dust. But Peter couldn’t focus on it. He stumbled to the closest of the wreckage and fell onto the broken concrete. For the first time since he had awoken from his dusty sleep, he didn’t feel afraid. No looming terror, no anxiety scrambling at his soul. He was relieved. He didn’t notice the lack of feeling in his right arm, he didn’t notice his increasing delirium. He didn't notice that he could barely see anything besides cloudy blurs of color.
Something distinctly red and gold came closer to him. His fuzzy hearing could pick up desperate utterings of different versions of his name and the word kid. Eventually, his vision cleared enough to see Tony in front of him, looking pretty distressed. Peter could only respond to his father figures worry with a small smile.
“Pete, can you hear me… Please kid… You can’t leave me again, you have to stay awake for me-” For once, Tony stumbled on his words. In the distance, he could hear some type of distress call. Peter didn’t know why… he had fixed everything. No more bad guys. Everyone was safe…
“Kiddo, please- look at me-” Peter’s eyes slowly met the brown ones of his mentor and he managed to breathe out a response.
“We won…”
“Yeah, kid… we won…” Tony tried his hardest to avoid the sob building in his throat. He supported his kids head in his hand. “FRIDAY? How…”
‘We’re in critical condition sir, I already sent for emergency services.’ The AI responded instantly.
“Okay kid, you have to stay with me,” Tony ordered as Peters good arm weakly raised up and latched onto his father's arm.
“I’m not… going… anywhere…” Peter rasped as his vision darkened. Voices became muffled but Peter wasn’t worried. He did what he needed to do. He absentmindedly wondered if he would see Ben when he closed his eyes.
Ben wasn’t there. His parents weren’t there. Just a moment of rest before his heart started beating again.
Light filled his eyes and he wasn’t on a battlefield, he was alive. The loud heartrate monitor seemed pretty clear about that. Cold air filling his lungs was all he could focus on as someone came up to him and kept him steady.
“Peter? It’s okay, you’re safe, just breathe.” A familiar voice eased as he began to catch his breath. He was still panting but he could see in front of him. His chest filled with a hot chocolatey warmth when he recognized the face. It was May. It was the closest thing he had to a mother. He could feel the hot tears burn at his eyes.
“Hey… Hey…” Peter croaked. “What…”
“You’re alive that’s what.” May sobbed as she hugged his good side. Peter tried to hug back but only one arm responded. He looked over and saw why that was. He only had one arm. A wave of emotions crashed into him. He was nauseous, afraid, empty and lost all at the same time. He couldn’t help but shutter. Before he could properly freak out, he felt lightheaded and passed out in his mother's arms.
The next time he woke up, there was more than one person in the room. And a raccoon. There was a fucking raccoon with clothes on sitting on a bench. He winced as he adjusted himself and the raccoon fucking spoke.
“Hey look, lefties awake. Rise and shine you burnt little piece of bacon.” Peter raised an eyebrow as the group of people and whatever half-hulk was now turned to him. Tony spun around the fastest and he seemed moderately relieved when he saw Peter’s confused face.
“Good morning kiddo.”
“I’d ask if I was hallucinating the raccoon but I’m pretty sure there was plenty of weird shit earlier…”
“Tell me about it kid. Are you in any pain? Do you feel like you’ve done at least two different types of illegal drugs?”
“I have no idea what doing drugs is like but I don’t feel like I’m gonna fall if I stand up. What are you guys… doing…” Peter gestured to the blue-toned Wakandan hologram schematics that were at an angle where he couldn’t figure out what it was.
“Well, since you lived up to the whole Skywalker thing, we were planning on making you a new and improved limb. It turns out that our mammal friend has experience in alien prosthesis.” Tony sat on the edge of Peter’s medical bed. He didn’t know what to call it because it because he definitely wasn’t in a hospital.
“Damn straight.” The raccoon nodded. “You’re going to have the coolest effing arm in the universe kid.”
“I wouldn’t expect less from this group to be honest…” Peter smiled. He recognized the Wakandan princess that he had never met before dying. There was also the blue alien woman that looked like she was more machine than human so if anyone knew about the impact of being a cyborg, he was pretty sure she was the most qualified. There was even Captain Americas long-haired friend that had a pretty obvious metal arm was chilling out in the room. People with metal parts seemed like pretty good consultants for something like this.
“Uh, this can happen later or, somewhere else. I guess we have a little bit of catching up to do.” Tony held onto his hand that was still there and waited for everyone to file out of the room before lifting him into a smothering hug.
“If you scare me like that again-” Tony threatened.
“What? You’ll take away my suit? If I didn’t do it, you would have and I’m enhanced. I would’ve lost you and I can’t… I can’t do that again…” Peter’s voice grew quieter into a wet whisper.
“That must be the downside to being a hero type… Seriously though kid, you nearly killed me there. May and I have agreed that you’re grounded for a year. It would be hard to swing around without the physical therapy and replacement arm anyway.” Tony held his kid close to his chest.
“Yeah… I’m okay with taking a break…” Peter weakly chuckled as he buried his head in the safety of Tony’s embrace. He may not be pain-free or even close to healed and normal, but he was alive and with his family.
He didn’t regret a thing.

Endgame should have been Natasha’s movie. Period.
And if there was at least one woman on the creative team (screenwriters/directors) I think the narrative of the entire movie would be different.
*Spoilers ahead*
You have been warned.
Now I will admit that I am a huge Natasha fan and would like to see her live at any cost but that doesn’t take away from the fact that her death feels empty and purely for shock value alone. Newsflash, if you have to kill off someone to get a reaction out of your audience you need to reassess your script.
Natasha has never really be given the treatment she deserved. Her character was the second Avenger introduced in the MCU and she’s the first female hero we get to see. She is IMPORTANT. She’s just as much a part of the team as the guys, if not more so because if you all remember correctly, Fury sent her to assess Tony’s ability to fit on the team. They have this rich background to play with and explore but more often than not she’s used as eye candy or Cap’s sidekick. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the Russos don’t care about Natasha, or anyone who isn’t Steve for that matter.
Endgame should have been her time to shine, but of course she gets the ax right before the final showdown. And the writers had the audacity to say that a big funeral would have been a disservice to the character. FUCK YOU!! Yes, she might have started in the shadows, but our girl has come a long way since IM2 and was the only one trying to keep the team together even when everyone else had moved on.
And you wanna know the worst part, is they’ve been setting her up to take Steve’s place for years. Since the end of Age of Ultron. (Sidenote: Remember when everyone said that was the worst Avengers. Y’all can kiss my ass on that one because Endgame takes that title.) She was his right hand and the voice of reason in Civil War, but no one wanted to listen to her. She wanted to do good and if that meant compromising with the governments of the world, so be it. As long as they were together and kicking ass she was fine. But no.
If you watch closely in Endgame, she’s not even the focus of her own death scene. When Red Skull appears, she’s shadowed and slightly out of focus, while Clint is crystal clear. God, men are frustrating. If you’re gonna kill her, do it right. But it wasn’t necessary or treated with the respect the character deserved. Which is why everyone is so pissed.
They could have very easily have centered the movie around her and still have the emotional wrap up they were almost trying too hard to achieve. I watched Endgame for the fifth time tonight and cleaned up the whole plot in my head.
Here’s how:
The first act remains virtually unchanged. Nat’s still the only one at the compound, doing her best to keep it together and be the leader of what’s left of the team. (What really pisses me off is that once Scott shows up Steve just takes charge again like he hadn’t spent the last five years lying to civilians while she was doing all the work alone. Ridiculous.)
When it comes time to figure out when and who should go after the stones that’s when shit starts shifting. You’ve gotta be shitting me if you think Nebula didn’t put two and two together or that some of the smartest people in the world in one room couldn’t figure out that maybe there’s an exchange factor for the stone. And she would not keep that info to herself. Yes, she’s new here, but she also spent the last five years helping Nat make sure everything was going smoothly. You expect me to believe she let them go in blind. Horse SHIT!
No, instead of Scott’s “not it”, joke, you have the team have a real talk about the stone. They need it to bring everyone back, but are they willing to lose one of the few they have left for a plan that might not work. Natasha volunteers of course because that’s who she is. She’s put in the work for the last five years, but if her life means bringing back everyone else, she’d do it in a heartbeat. It’s who she is, giving it her all for the greater good.
But it’s Steve who says it’ll be him. It has to be. The team argues of course, because they can’t lose Captain America, but Steve silences their protests. He always talked about making the sacrifice play and now it’s his turn to step up. He missed his chance at the life he wanted, with Peggy. She’s gone. But everyone else still had a chance at that if they pulled this off. Tony had his family, Nat had the team to lead, etc. He was always the man out of time and it was him who would do this for the team. Nat is the one who goes with him. She still tries to go instead but he won’t have it. They share a heartfelt goodbye and Steve passes the torch so to speak, but she was always the one in charge. And then he goes over the cliff. No gratuitous scene of his brain matter on the rocks. Just his shield in Nat’s hands as the sky goes white. Natasha wakes up with the stone, heartbroken, but determined to see this through. For Steve.
They rest of the team mourns when Nat returns alone with the shield, but they all agree that Steve would have wanted them to keep moving forward.
BOOM. The entire theater is in tears. Emotional pay off complete, let’s get to the action.
They get the stones into the new gauntlet and Bruce still is the one to do the snap and bring everyone back. But it drains the gamma radiation from him leaving him as just Banner once more. (Because me and everyone I’ve talked to irl fucking hates Hulk/Banner and I want that shit reversed).
Back on track. Clint gets the call from Laura and then Thanos bombs the place. Nat ends up in Steve’s place facing off with Thanos alongside Thor and Tony. She has the shield and is ready for this to be over. Whatever it takes. The fighting is the same and when it comes time to lift the hammer it’s Natasha who does it. The theater still gets that awed silence because literally no one saw that coming.
But Macenzie, how is Nat worthy, she was an assassin you ask. She was, but ever since Clint brought her in, she’s tried to be better. She’s fought on the good side and been willing to lay down her life to save others. She encompasses what it means to be a hero even if she doesn’t believe so herself. Natasha Romanoff can lift the hammer and we finally get an answer to the question they left hanging in AoU. (I’d really like to see Nat get some lightning armor, but that might be pushing it since it didn’t happen for Cap).
Boom the plot thickens. And just when you think she can’t take any more, Sam’s voice crackles in her ear.
“Widow? It’s Sam. Did you miss me?”
AAAAAND PORTALS!!!! Avengers freaking Assemble around the best Avenger, Natasha and whop some alien ass. And my all female scene is complete it the OG.
Natasha lives to see Tony die and the audience again gets that emotional character ending.
The funeral at the end is for both Tony and Steve, they send off a piece of his shield with the arc reactor. AND THE THEATER IS SOBBING!
Nat is the one to take the stones back, because duh and she makes a detour to the moment after Steve decided to give his life for the stone. She tells him they won and that she loves him and they hug. She offers to bring him to the future, but he can’t do that to the current reality. Natasha returns to the future and is seen at the sight of the old compound, looking over blueprints. She’s in charge and the rest of the team rallies around her.
The camera pans to the sky and fades to black. Before the credits role, the music changes to the song they had Peggy and Steve dance to and we see Steve and Peggy finally getting their dance together.
Credits role. The theater is wrecked. Goodnight.
But in all seriousness, there are so many better ways to do this movie that actually do the characters justice.

Imagine getting married to Loki
He never thought anyone would be in his life long enough to get to know him and love him. He didn’t even expect anyone to love him. He was fully prepared to live the rest of his life alone and he was okay with that.
But that was until you walked straight into his life. Literally. You had walked right into him in the Stark Towers as he was trying to reign his brother back to Asgard and you were running around like a maniac for Tony seen as you were his assistant at the time. Now you were promoted to the head of Stark Industries, taking Pepper Potts place.
Ever since you had made eye contact with the god, you knew that he was the next challenge you wanted to take on. Challenges were your thing. Hence why you took the job with Tony Stark. You liked facing things head on and accomplishing them. Loki wasn’t an exception either. You knew him, about him at least at the time. You knew the trouble he has gotten into and caused. Hell, he was a central part of your pain for a good few years.
The New York attack killed your parents and older brother whom you were incredibly close with, but over the years you grieved less and less, knowing they wouldn’t want you to dwell on them and let them get in front of your work. You resented Loki for years, before you had even met him. You had it all planned out on how his death would be, the same as your family’s, slow and painful, but it all changed when you had finally came face to face with the frost giant.
You saw a whole different man than everyone else. You saw the hurt in his eyes no matter how much he tried to hide it with his hard demonor. You saw how soft he was behind all of his dark clothing and armor. You saw Loki the kind, misunderstood, gentle, damnedly unstable, god and not the Loki everyone hated which was the vindictive, evil-minded god of mischief.
He was reluctant at first to even let you speak to him. He knew if he said even a word wrong then he would have a whole world of hurt coming his way, but you convinced him otherwise. You told him, and these were your exact words, “I am a big girl, I can handle my own puny god issues” with the biggest smirk the man had ever seen on your face. Loki, at the time did not find it amusing but now looking back on it, the memory makes him smile.
You two had spent a lot of time together, whether you were working or not. If you were busy doing the loads of paperwork you always seemed to have, he would sit in your office with you and just read. Other times when you had free time you would do things around the compound like watch movies, have him read to you, or just run around like a bunch of 10 year olds. It really just depended on the day and type of moods you guys were in, but there was rarely any time you were apart.
You had him wrapped around his finger and you didn’t even realize it. You had been the only person Loki had ever met in his years of existing, that overlooked everything he did, and looked at him like an actual person that deserved a little bit of kindness.
Now, years later, he was standing at the end of a light emerald green rose petal covered walkway, awaiting your arrival. The accent colors of black and emerald green were scattered around the white decor. You guys wanted to try and keep it traditional with a splash of your own touch.
Everyone in the pews that were set up in the huge field outside of the Avengers compound stood up from their previous seated positions. Everyone included some friends made through the years, most of them having to do with shield or the Avengers, and of course the Avengers themselves. Besides Thor, Steve, Clint and Wanda. Thor was Loki’s best man, the only one that through everyone, before you had met him, stood with Loki and believed in him, his brother.
Wanda was your maid of honor, she was also the only that would agree to wear a dress between her and Natasha. Wanda had been there for you to rant to and what not about your relationship problems, when they arose every once in a blue moon, and she was also your best friend.
Steve was the one marrying you two, because he was surprisingly already ordained. No one really questioned him on it.
Clint was the one walking you down the aisle, seen as your real father couldn’t be here. Clint served as a father figure for all of the years that you knew him. You knew you could go to him for anything you ever needed him for, and he wouldn’t hesitate to put everything down and help you. Clint was a real father figure to a lot of people, including the Maximoff twins, you, and of course his own children.
You saw everyone turn around awaiting your presence walking down between the pews. You had a death grip of the archers arm and you started slowly walking to the beginning of the walkway.
“Don’t let me trip” You whispered so only he could hear.
“I won’t, but if you do I’m gonna laugh” You were told and you just gave him a death glare, to which he grinned and shrugged to.
“Are you ready?” He asked as soon as we hit the start of the colored rose petals.
“As ready as I can be.” You replied, finally looking straight ahead of you instead of looking at all of the smiling faces around you. The music started playing but you didn’t notice. You started walking forward, but you didn’t notice. All you saw was his eyes, and that’s all you were focused on.
Loki didn’t realize you had come down the aisle until you were right in front of him. Not because he wasn’t pay attention, but as soon as you came into his view, he lost all track of thought. You were on his mind and that was it. How beautiful you looked in the long white dress you probably spent way too much money on. How your hair was neatly placed on top of your head with a veil covering the y/h/c hair neatly. How your makeup was done with perfection, even though he didn’t think you needed it, he knew you liked it and that’s all that mattered. All that mattered is that he got to marry the love of his life and you loved it. He didn’t notice he was crying until you reached up and wiped a tear off of his face.
“I’m the one that is supposed to be crying.” You joked and everyone laughed, including Loki, who just grinned and slightly shook his head.
You both smiled at each other before signaling Steve to start, wanting to be married already.
“I, Loki, take you, y/n, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward.” He grinned, not breaking eye contact with you for a second. He was beyond ecstatic to be finally saying these words and soon to be forever bonded with you.
You repeated the same words to him, maintaining eye contact, beaming with glee and excitement, rushing words trying to make the process go faster, and messing up once or twice, giving an entertaining show to your friends in the pews.
“I, Y/N, take you to be my husband, my friend, my faithful partner, my protector and my love from this day forward. In the presence of our family and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and in health.”
By now you were crying, thankful that you had the makeup artists use waterproof makeup otherwise you would be a complete mess. Loki was also tearing up, but willing himself not to drop any tears, because this was your time to shine and he wasn’t going to take that from you. He will cry during his part. “In good times and in bad, which we will have a lot of both.”
That got a lot of people to laugh. You added it in to make the mood lighter instead of you just crying. “And in joy as well as in sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, to support you in your choices, to honor and respect you, to laugh with you and cry with you and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live.”
You were nearing the end of the vows. All that was left was for Loki to say his last bit of the promise you were holding for each other. You were both getting impatient, but knew it was for the best. He was just replaying in his head all of the amazing times you guys had together, and thinking about how many more memories you would make together. He was counting the words until he would be able to kiss you and make everything official.
“I Loki, promise you will forever be my partner in life, and my one true love. I will cherish our union and to love you more and more than i did the day before. I will trust you and respect you, love you faithfully through good times and bad, regardless of the obstacles we may face together. I give you my hand.”
“My heart.” You joined in.
“My love.” He continued grinning from ear to ear.
“My life.” You continued.
“My promise to be here for you, from this day forward for as long as we both shall live.”
Steve chimed in with the classic line that they had been waiting to hear since you walked down the aisle.
“By the power vested in me by the state of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife, Loki, you may now kiss your bride.” He announced grinning as everyone started to cheer.
He looked you in the eyes, a smile never leaving his face nor yours. You wrapped your arms around his neck, his hands found themselves resting on your hips, pulling you closer as he smashed his lips on your, finally making everything official. You swore you felt the same sparks, if not stronger sparks, from when you had first kissed him all those years ago.
You were now Mr. and Mrs. Loki Laufeyson and you two couldn’t be any happier.

“Does that mean we are going to team up?” the smile and hope was hard to miss from Jack's face and your eyes instantly jumped to look at Steve, unable to hold back the spark of hope within you.
“The hell we will.” Dean scoffed a laugh.
“But-” Jack looked at you with pleading eyes “They're just outside town. Wouldn't it be more effective this way? It would be so much easier to win them and retrieve the stone, and then we will see what we will do with it togther.”
“Yeah, if we ever make it there before tearing each other's throat apart.” Dean rolled his eyes and you sighed heavily, knowing how true this was.
“Maybe if you decided to play fair we could-” you started but got a look from the older Winchester which made you roll your eyes “If you insist to act like a five-year-old fine, fine.” you huffed, looking away.
“B-but we're looking for the same thing, it would only make sense that we team up, right?” his eyes found yours again, hopeful but you had lost all hope when Captain wouldn't even look you in the eyes much less acknowledge you anyway. As much you tried to make an effort to change it, he'd only avoid you, and you couldn't afford to think about your feelings with such an important case ahead.
“Jack it's final. We're going our separate ways, and if they don't wanna give answers then that's fine, we're not gonna look for them either.” he gave Steve a side look that made him clench his jaw, making a pause follow for a minute.
“He's right.” much to your surprise it was Steve's voice that spoke firmly yet calmly “There will be no teaming up, simply because this is our problem to deal with and our mission. You have no business with the Infinity Stones, and trust me you wouldn't want to either.”
“No business?” Sam got on his feet, raising an eyebrow “I'm sorry to inform you Captain, but demons have been usingthat very stone to steal thousands of souls from heaven to turn them into demons in our world. Demons ready to cause even more chaos in our worlds. Demons ready to kill many more innocent people in our world. So, yes, it's our problem as well.”
“I'm afraid I gotta agree, Sam.” it was Natasha that spoke up softly “This is way above your league, you don't know what it's really like messing with those stones.”
“Let me guess, Biblical? Huge? Cosmic?” Dean raised an eyebrow, shrugging his shoulders “Yeah, been there, done that. See, we didn't have much problem dealing with God... or his sister for that matter. Heck, I killed death. Literally. I don't think some fancy rocks are gonna do it for us now.”
“Fancy rocks?” Steve's eyebrows raised “Well, those fancy rocks can certainly do so much worse than that... death could have ever imagined of doing, believe me. It's best if you stay out of-”
“He's right.” you breathed out with a frown, cutting him off.
And before he could control it his eyes were on you as you took a deep breath fully faced him, fists clenched but an unchracteristic sense of nervousness in your as well as you looked eyes with his and for the first time after the incident, directly speaking to him “This is our case too, you can't just cut us off from it. Frankly, you don't have the right to. You helped us, you saved us, yes, but we saved you as well, I'm sure you can at least give us that. We wouldn't have made it out of that train station alive if it wasn't for each other. We did it all together.” you noticed how he pursed his lips as if the word held a great importance to him, but thankfully didn't take his eyes off you, allowing you to search for some sort of emotion in him at least.
“And I'll understand if you don't want us to team up, fine. I think it's for the best that we... stay as far away as possible from each other too.” you shrugged softly, noticing the way his fists clenched but he didn't let any emotion show on his face – it wasn't needed anyway “Once this is over, though, because this doesn't mean we're gonna stay out of it. You could avoid us all you want-” you breathed out a soft yet strained laugh that made him glance away for a second as if he'd been caught “We aren't the easiest to work with, I'll admit, but we will get involved, one way or another. Because this is our job, and we never back down from it. Whether you like it or not, you can't avoid it forever.”
“Then...” he blinked, the words dying out in his lips for a moment. And in the few seconds that followed, he really looked into your eyes that he understood the real meaning behind your words and it wasn't certainly just about the case, but more about the unfinished conversation you had even before the bunker.
“It's worth trying.” he said it in that firm and somehow monotone voice, making you wince on the inside because you could see his struggle not just with you but with his own self over the issue. It didn't make you feel any better but you needed the answers real bad. He tore his glistening eyes from you and tried to keep as much of a blank face as possible, and oh you knew that behavior so well. He was trying to keep everyone, even more so you, from seeing how much this was affecting him and, better yet, hurting him.
“Steve” Natasha started almost in a warning yet always friendly voice tone, but he had already put his leader face on, the one that made him look more like a man straight out of war acting like a robot than an actual man. He had already started walking away but Natasha and Sam were reluctant to follow, still confused and with doubts, stood in their place.
“We're heading out, now.” he started in a stern voice, making Sam and Dean share a look at his words “I'm sorry but this mission isn't yours anymore, and it's not up to you. Sam, contact Vision, if it's just outside town then they will be able to pick the stone's print, give the emphasis on the airports. Have as many agents as possible on stand-by just in case, the whole compound if possible. Oh and the quinjet, we'll take the stone immediately back home. Nat, you talk with Wanda and tell her to track any traces of supernatural activity on a mile from there. Tell them both to wait there for us, we can't waste any more time, we'll...” he trailed off for a second, looking up to meet your eyes before he blinked and looked away “Be there soon.” he cleared his throat, stopping to face all four of you “I wish this could have happened under different circumstances.”
“Do you?” Dean asked in a rough and sarcastic voice, raising an eyebrow.
The only thing Steve did was cast his eyes down before nodding his head slowly “You're right, but I suppose we'll never be really sure. We are sorry for the trouble we caused, that... wasn't out intention. Consider this only a mistake and believe me-” he held Dean's gaze for the longest, as if he was trying to let him know something more than the differences between them would let him, before his eyes finally fell on you and you saw there was evident longing in them “It's best if things stay this way. For everyone.” he nodded with a forced smile that wasn't a smile at all “It was a pleasure.”
“Including yourself?” you wanted to ask so bad but couldn't find yourself able to breathe, let alone speak. He couldn't be ending things so fast and in this way.
“You too, Captain.” Jack said with a small smile, trying to make this as much light as possible, given how tense the atmosphere was around you.
Before he could leave, Steve turned to give him some sort of smile but finding himself unable too as he just shook his head softly “I'm not Captain America anymore, son. But it was good to meet you.”
And with those last words he was skipping his way up the stairs. So fast and without even turning his head once to glance over his shoulder, in a way that it verified your fears. He just wanted to be out of this place the fastest possible, to avoid you and even more to forget this ever even happened. And if you said, even to yourself, that it didn't make your heart drop, you would be lying majorly.
You hoped your words, even indirect, would have made him change his mind because he had understood very well what you meant. But it seemed that it didn't lead anywhere but heartbreak, this time for both him and you. You watched with almost wide eyes, a lump in your throat that prevented you from breathing and your lungs feeling as if on fire. You wished so bad you could say something more, anything, because it hurt so bad to see him leave... and it confused you at the same time when you couldn't describe why. You knew it wasn't just curiosity, it had to be something more.
“I-” Sam Wilson only sighed, shaking his head before, with a tight-lipped smile, he gave you a nod and rushed after his friend to catch up with him.
“I've got to-” Natasha held her own sigh but she was less willing to let go of this and just forget it all with a fight; so grabbing a pen you had on the table she scribbled down a number on one of the notebooks that lay there too “My number. It's... in case you need anything, even answers.”
“I'll have-” you started but stopped yourself, noticing how she was holding her breath, and gave her a small smile “Sure thing.”
“Alright.” it was so unsure and such a great contrast to the strong woman she appeared to be. She hesitated for a split second but in the end leaned in to give you an emotional, although quick hug, before she pulled away with a forced smile and followed after her friends. You caught yourself taking a step forward subconsciously before you could stop yourself, and you looked down at your feet with a frown.
“Well, what are we waiting for?” Dean started with a small smirk, maybe a little relieved to and you knew all-too-well why although you couldn't feel it yourself “We have a stone to get, before they do, let's go!”
“And you're cheerful again, what a shocker.” Sam laughed softly before you pulled away from both of them.
“Uh give me just one minute, yeah? I gotta get something first.” you said with a small frown, despite Dean's worried look “I'll come find you in Baby, it's no big deal. I forgot my knife, that's all.”
“Alright” he breathed out but with your current situation of dreams, and now passing out, he wouldn't stop being on edge anytime soon. And neither were you, not with these headaches or crazy images jumping in your head and preventing you from telling reality from them.
~*~
“Son of a bitch!” Dean's gruff voice cursing snapped you out of your trail of thoughts.
“Language.” it felt like everything around became silent and you could only hear... Steve? It sounded like Steve. The scene flashing before your eyes was blury but you could tell clearly that it was full of snow, anywhere you looked.
“Widow, you've got three coming for you, watch out!” this time it was your own voice, but you couldn't feel your lips moving “Wait a second, did Steve just say-”
“I know. It slipped!” he defended but you were already grinning. And for some odd reason you could feel that, along with the light feeling in your chest as if you were in some sort of trip and not... fighting? You were actually fighting someone. Who, you didn't know though.
“Please, Stark tell me you got that recorded?” you asked with a small laugh.
“Already done, sweetheart.” it was a voice you didn't recognize this time, but you could hear the smirk in it “And I'm adding it to the playlist right after AC/DC, for sure!” well, he could definitely be friends with Dean at least.
“You're the best! Just add it to my file for blackmailing, yeah?”
“Wait, you really have that for me?” Steve's voice was laced with interest and fear at the same time.
“Baby, I have one for everyone! How do you think I got the entire team not to spill my feeling for you to you before I wanted to? But worry not, yours isn't that large.”
“Well, thank you then, honey.” there was a heavy sigh in it but also a lightness that made your heart flutter, both because of his warm chuckle and even more his next words “I love you too.”
You blinked, not having even realized when you zoned off, pulling down down your jacket's sleeves to cover your bracelets, and looked up just to see him tossing his phone on the side angrily. Taking in a shaky breath to calm down your wildly-beating and not let them realize anything, especially Dean. If things were bad before with your bizarre dreams and became worse with them starting to make sense, then this whole dreaming while with open eyes was the cherry on top. You rubbed your eyes, trying to shake the thought off as your pure imagination even if you knew it wasn't.
You cleared your throat, looking at Dean “What's wrong?”
“Text from Cas, they're on the freaking move. Damn it.” he said with a low growl, making you all sigh heavily.
“But we've only been on the road for two hours, how is it possible?” Jack asked with a frown, looking up from the journal he didn't seem to let go of the past couple hours. The one that belonged to the man of letters who met Steve.
“Well, the sun's rising and they know we're after them, so it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't want to stay in one place for longer than one night or even 24 hours. If the stone is as powerful as... Steve said it was then-” you sighed, looking down at your hands and missing the way Dean looked at you when you hesitated to say the name “It makes sense that they can access heaven and extract all those souls from anywhere.”
“And until they settle down somewhere, what do we do?” Sam huffed, dragging a hand down his face.
“Well, for starters? A stop, the soonest we get the chance. I don't know about you but I need the fuel for both Baby and I, we're low. And after that, we'll keep in contact with mom and Cas who are ont heir trail. Are you kids cool with that or are you sleepy?” he glanced back at you and Jack but you shook your heads.
“I've had my sleep and it was more than enough, but I wouldn't say no to some good-morning donuts and warm coffee to be honest.” you said, smiling softly when you heard a chuckle leave Dean's lips “And while we're on it, no need to be all grumpy huh?” you leaned over the front seats and just put on some music, knowing he wouldn't do anything to change it anymore. First; because he ended up liking every song you chose much to both of yours surprise and second; because you were already past the stage where he pretended to insist on the house rules with you. You knew that deep down he liked you picking the music, so in the end he just gave up and admitted you had equal rights as the driver no matter your seat.
You fell back in your seat with a grin, singing softly along with Dean as Sam only shook his head with a grin at the two of you. For a moment everything seemed normal, at least your kind of normal, until a flash of an image made your smile fall.
“I told you, I'm not a good dancer.” Steve protested with, easily, the most adorable smile you had ever seen on him. But then again, he was actually fully smiling and his eyes were shining brightly that it made him look like a young boy with his first love more than a man who had survived war after war.
“Come on, the song's a classic. And I promise I will be patient with you.” you tugged at his arm and he tried to look like he was resist but in all honesty he was even failing at pretending, let alone resist you or anything you asked of him.
“Alright, you wanna hear it? I don't know a single thing. Come on, (Y/n), I'm gonna step on you it will just be embarrassing.” he warned with a soft smile as he placed his hands on your hips and you wrapped yours around his shoulders.
“Will be worth it. For starters, I love how this blue shirt is already struggling on you, you should wear them more often.” you giggled as he grinned, resting your head on his shoulder “Besides, we've been together for years and I haven't gotten you to dance not once before! Especially in Tony's parties.”
“I suppose you're right on that.” he leaned in to kiss your cheek “After all, I better start practicing for a more special occasion huh?”
You blinked, the scene once more fading away from your eyes. The music was the same once more but sounded more clear and the only image your mind could register was of the sun dusting over Dean's freckles and eyes and taking your breath away in an instant. Despite the heavy weight of uncertainty about your past resting on your chest, you could still find yourself smiling when you looked at Dean and were sure of your future... or were you?
~*~
“Alright, I found some pie in there and I got nougat for... Jack.” you ended up mumbling when you looked up from the bag and found only the Impala and Dean leaning against it with a small smirk “Where's Jack? A-And where's Sam?” you blinked in confusion.
“Went for the coffee and donuts. There's a small shop a couple meters down the road.” he shrugged, helping you with the bag by putting it inside the car.
“But... we could just fill up the car and drive down there. Why would they leave when- oh. Oh.” your eyes widened as realization downed on you and a mere look from Dean only verified your thoughts “Right.” you muttered, looking down at your feet while you felt your cheeks heat up dangerously but missing the soft red color that crept up his neck.
“Yeah” he cleared his throat just as awkwardly as you came to stand next to him and rest your weight on Baby as well “Leave us alone.” he mumbled, nodding his head before biting his lip and looking away.
It only took you a few second of utter silence before you burst in laughter and he followed suit, shaking his head “Damn, I'm just gonna get 'em both back for this.”
“Come on, don't blame them.” you broke into a smile, wrapping your arms around him and he threw an arm around your shoulder and nuzzled his face in your hair.
“Oh I don't. I blame this all on Sam!” he grinned, leaning in to kiss the top of your head “Jack is just following in his steps is all.”
“I agree, he's the one pushing you to get it going with me the most. He hopes that by some miracle you'll take this opportunity and ask me out.” you shrugged and said so casually you earned a wide-eyed look of utter shock from the Winchester which made you laugh “Relax, I'm just kidding. Unless-” he had barely let a sigh of relief before you looked up at him while chewing on your lip with those eyes he could swear could make him do anything you wanted “You'd really want to... maybe?”
The hesitation and uncertainty, but above all shyness and hope in your eyes earned a skip in Dean's heartbeat. For a second he actually got lost staring into your eyes, oh how easy it always for him to forget his own name when gazing back at you, but he decided to focus back on reality. He gave your shoulder a squeeze but when you saw he actually hesitated, you shook your head feeling too embarrassed and almost scared to let the question hang in the air any longer.
“You know what? Nevermind. I'm just- That was stupid to ask.” you cleared your throat and regret washed over Dean when he noticed he got lost in your eyes – and his fear – for longer than he should “Gosh, why did I even say it out loud?” you buried your face in your hands for a second before forcing a laugh out “I think I really haven't gotten enough sleep after all.”
“No, (Y/n).” his voice was rough and a little more urgent than he would have liked it but he couldn't take it back, so he just sighed heavily and confessed in a gruff voice “You could find so much better, sweetheart.”
“Better?” you whispered “Better than who? ...You?” you raised an eyebrow before shaking your head with a bitter laugh from what you could only see as a rejection “Like there is anyone better than you out there, to begin with.”
“I'm sure you can always find someone. Get that picture perfect house with a white picket fence, hell even a freaking dog if you want to. A normal and boring 9 to 5 job, the whole package.” he looked ahead of him, not daring to meet your eyes for fear that you could see how hard it was for him to say those words without including himself in the picture “Anytime you want to.”
“You say that as if I deserve it.” you whispered, your eyes casting down “Hell, Dean, I could barely be worthy of a man as incredible as you, what makes you think I could also get that kind of life if I wanted to?”
“Because-” he licked his lips, throwing an arm over your shoulders and bringing you close to him again, because even the few inches of distance were a torture for him “You deserve the fuckin' world, princess.”
“But I don't want the world.” you whispered, your face resting on his chest. You wanted to add so bad 'I only want you.'but you couldn't find the courage to say that.
“Well, you're gonna get it one day, you'll see.” he whispered, leaning in to kiss your forehead before clearing his throat “How's your head by the way? Any headaches now?”
“Not really. Everything's fine... or at least I know it will be, so long as I have you... and Sammy, Cas, Jack and Mary of course. You know, the whole squad.”
The way his heart leapt to his throat was undeniable but he tried not to let it show “That's for sure, especially with the source of our headaches as far away as possible.”
You rolled your eyes but did smile at him “Steve didn't give me any headaches, Dean. I don't think so, to be honest, and I don't think he wanted to anyway... He seemed really troubled himself, especially if he's had to go through war. I think you know that better than anyone how that feels like.” you defended him
Much to your surprise he shrugged softly, deciding not to say something against him because in all honestly worry, doubt and even more – deep down – a hint of jealousy wasn't clouding his judgment anymore “I don't know what's really going on with that guy, it was hard to figure out, but honestly? I really think he's a good man. Infuriating-” he pointed out but nodded his head nonetheless “But still a good man. Hopefully everything will sort out for him.”
“Yeah, he is.” you whispered with a small smile, admiring the way he spoke about him and how honest he was “Just like you.” you added softly as he leaned in to kiss your temple with a soft grin.
“Anyway, things are better now. The way they should be.” you looked between the two of you “And I only have a small headache but only because of lack of sleep. Or better yet-” you put on a soft smile as you looked up at him “Lack of good sleep because I was missin' my favorite pillow. I tell you, sleep isn't gonna be the same for me without you anymore.”
You had shared a bed before a couple times before on hunts, but sleeping with him in his room in the bunker made it all feel so much more real and... domestic. The bunker was your home anymore, and spending a night in his room where everything smelled or spoke of Dean and every sie of his, made you feel more like a couple than any other motel room... although it sadly wasn't true.
“You tell me.” his chest rumbled with a chuckle “I don't think I'll ever be able to sleep for more than one hour without you, sweetheart.” he tucked a few strands out of your face, his thumb brushing over your cheek that was starting to warm up “So, now that I think about it, you're pretty much stuck with me for life.”
“Well, that's not necessarily a bad thing.” you grinned, wrapping your arms around his arm as your one hand took gentle hold of his, before you whispered “Because I wasn't planning on it.”
“Really?” he asked with a boyish grin, raising an eyebrow “And were you ever planning to let me know?”
“Hmh” you thought about it for a minute “No, not really. I'd probably just move all of my clothes into your closet, most of which are also your flannels so no problem there, we can share them!” the mere suggestion was enough to make his grin widen, because gosh did he love the way you looked in his clothes “And I'll bring over my pillow and floral blankets which you won't dare complain about, because you know they're my fave, and just move into your room. And you won't say a thing because, think about it, I'll cook breakfast and bring it over to you in bed! Not to mention the warm cuddles you'll have with me... and Princess!”
A groan instantly left his lips as he threw his head back, so over-dramatically e made you laugh “No, not your stuffed animals. Please not those! We barely have room in there for your books, how will we fit all of them in there?”
“Come on, D!” you giggled “You bought Princess for me anyway, in case you forgot that.” you smirked and he couldn't fight his grin “Besides, how much space can they even take up? I got barely four of them anyway, from Cas or Jack, you don't throw gifts away. And, it's not like I'm gonna bring Kong in your room anyway, no, he'll stay in mine.” you shrugged, mentioning the huge teddy bear you knew -mostly thanks to Sam who wouldn't keep his mouth shut- he had gotten for you but never admitted. He had brushed it off by saying you had a secret admirer when you found the teddy bear in your motel room after a rough hunt and ever since you had not let go of it.
“My goodness.” he shook his head, but his cheeks were hurting from all the smiling and he didn't even try to pretend to be grumpy or serious in protesting “You and your weird names for your stuffed animals.” he rolled his eyes with such a fond smile that you could swear would make your heart beat out of your chest before he got a little serious an “Then how are we gonna have room for the flowers huh?”
“What flowers?” your voice was so small but the the wide smile that you only seemed to reserve for him took his breath away and made the insatiable pull he felt towards you grow even bigger and he could barely hold his hands to himself. You couldn't even comprehend if you were being serious or not at the moment, but you were sure you loved the idea more than anything and you wished one day it could come true.
“Well-” he licked his lips, giving you a boyish grin “Flowers, you know, like sunflowers, roses, lilies, daisies. Anything that I feel like and that you'd like. I mean-” he shrugged casually “I should find a way to thank you for the wonderful breakfast on bed, right? And the cuddles of course!”
“Of course.” you nodded your head with a breathless laugh, as your eyes casted down shyly, the both of you feeling that tug at your heart that made you subconsciously lean into each other “Then how will I ever thank you for everything else you've offered me hm?” you looked at him through your lashes, biting your lower lip.
“Well, we have time.” he shrugged with a casual and adorable pout “And for the record, I love the idea of good-morning kisses with that breakfast.”
“You do huh?” your eyebrows raised as you hesitated, but brought your hand to cup his cheek and lean in to kiss the other one, your lips lingering there for longer than they should as your eyes fluttered shut. His hand found your hip where he squeezed with a longing he didn't even know he had in him.
“Close enough.” he whispered in a rough voice.
You didn't pull away as you whispered the small question of “Figuratively or literally?” when you noticed that your lips had been only a couple inches away from his lips. You'd been dying for a sign from him, so if he said that he wanted you to kiss them you wouldn't even blink before you savored those full lips, that stayed parted and so tempting for a moment, until-
Your phone rang. You both sighed heavily and pulled away from each other, letting your hands fall to your sides as you took out your phone “It's Cas.” you mumbled with a frown “Why didn't he call you?” you mumbled as he took his phone out, only to see it had no battery, before you answered in the end.
“Hey uh, did-” Sam started in a low voice, glancing at you a couple feet away talking on the phone and noticing your flushes cheeks and even more how flustered his brother was. But when he got a shake of Dean's head in response, he sighed heavily and his smile fell.
“Really? Come on, Dean, how hard can it be?”
“Very freaking hard, ok?” Dean hissed, nervous and on edge because he hated acting like a teenager in front of you yet couldn't avoid it and Sam couldn't understand the struggle “Very. But... I'll make it, I hope. One day.” he cleared his throat before grabbing a coffee and taking a large sip as Sam muttered a “Sure”
“On the road we go, ladies!” you said cheerfully, earning confused looks from them “Seems like we must have the monster magnet cause Cas just said they're coming our way. If we jump in the car right now, we might be able to catch them in town right at nighttime.”
“It's good enough for me!”
~*~
“Cas? Hey.” you breathed out, rushing out of the Impala and towards him, giving the angel a quick hug as he nodded to the three other men 'hello'. You took a look behind him to see an old factory, feeling an unusual pull towards the place. You took a step forward without realizing it, their words becoming muffled until you felt a hand take hold of your arm. You blinked and forced yourself to focus back on reality, realizing it was Jack. You took in a shaky breath, hoping the boys wouldn't notice, and tried to focus on the job and not every cell of your body being so on alert.
“Cas, where's mom?” Sam looked around with a frown.
“She took up a hunt. It was too important to ignore but she is alright, don't worry.” he glanced behind him at the empty factory “They are in there, we need to hurry before they collect more souls and leave. The angels... they're in alert but they can't do much against the stone, the sirens went off last night after they got more souls.”
“Then we shouldn't let them get more.” Sam said with a frown.
“Well, what are we waiting for anyway? Let's go!” Dean urged, taking a step forward before Castiel stopped him, shaking his head.
“There is something else too.” he sighed “There's someone in there, and it's not just the demons. We're, as it seems, not the only ones after the stone. However, I cannot tell if these people will stand in our way or-”
“You've gotta be kidding me.” Dean cut him off with a groan, realization downing on all four of you “Just as I thought-damn it. How the heck did they even find it this fast?” he rolled his eyes in exasperation, making Castiel squint at him.
Your own eyes were wide and a smile had slowly started to form on your lips, unlike Dean who wasn't all that pleased with the fact that you hadn't seen the last of the group yet and seemingly another encounter awaited for you. You couldn't blame him, their presence, and even more Steve's, put another weight on his shoulders and he already had too much to worry about. Sadly, however, your feelings were the exact opposite and it felt like a big weight lifted off your chest, allowing your heart to beat normally again – even if it skipped a beat or two as you thought that after an entire day you were so close to the blue-eyed man again. There was something about his presence that, aside from the headaches, brought a sense of comfort and peace in you that you only were able to feel to a great extent with Dean lately.
But before Castiel could get to question you, a loud explosion caught your attention. Your eyes widened and your head snapped in the building's direction, a shocked and worried yell leaving your lips only by instinct “Steve!”
And before you could even realize it you felt your feet carrying you towards the factory, Dean frantically yelling your name sounded very distant and it was as all of them tried to catch up with you sprinting towards danger. Not that you could think of that or anything else at the moment but the fact that you wanted to make sure Steve was alright and that there was a pull far too stong to ignore.
“No, (Y/n)!” Dean's voice finally registered when it seemed to be too late. You had ran straight into the fight and not anywhere near gracefully at that. Your eyes instantly fell on Steve to see him pinned on the wall, just like Natasha and Sam, by the demons themselves.
“Well, if it isn't Team Free Will 2.0! What's up guys, you missed me already?” the demon you had faced no more than 24 hours earlier looked at you with a grin “I must say you lost some of your gracefulness there, ever since we last saw you. Worry not, it doesn't make you any less appealing to kill.” he took a step forward, towards you.
“(Y/n), go!” it was Steve's warning voice and looking at him you noticed his wide eyes, deep fear and urgency evident in his face “You all need to go!”
“Don't worry, Cap, we've been fighting their kind for years now and we always kicked their asses. It's like a piece of cake anymore.” Dean said with a smirk, drawing an angel blade “They're just too damn stupid to come picking a fight anyway.”
“That's true.” the leader hummed, glancing at Steve, Nat and Sam “No matter how good you're at fighting, when it comes to the Winchesters and the supernatural... nothing can beat that. But don't worry, this will be their last rodeo.”
And before any of you could even have the chance to blink a group of demons all charged at you. You didn't hesitate to jump in action, each of you holding a fight of your own. Just like any other time you'd held a fight with a demon you kept an angel blade close to you and were able to defend yourself. However the demon fighting you managed to knock it out, having more strength than you could have ever estimated, before he knocked you down. You only watched with wide eyes, waiting for the impact of his own knife hovering over you. But it didn't come because Dean stabbed him right before he could lunge at you again.
“Are you ok?” he asked breathlessly.
You barely had the time to give him a nod before he was thrown across the room and slammed on the wall. A scream of his name ripped through your lips as the leader of the demons held him back and walked towards him with a confident smile and Dean's angel blade. It felt like everything slowed down around you, your legs carried you before your own brain could comprehend it as if it was an natural urge to protect him. However, the logical part of your brain wasn't evenfunctioning and when you were finally standing between Dean and the demon you realized you hadn't even taken your angel blade or any sort of weapon. With empty hands you only looked in shock at him. It seemed like you had no control of your body even at that moment. And as he charged at you with the blade you crossed your arms in an X motion in front of you, something that came naturally as if an instinct, and... felt no impact from the angel blade at all.
When you opened your eyes they widened you saw that everyone in front of you had been blasted away, you heard a couple groans but after a couple seconds you could hear laughter, actual laughter, coming from Sam Wilson as he said with a grin “Whoa you guys are so screwed now, Wonder Woman for the win!”
He, Natasha and Steve were the only ones not confused by what was happening. You pushed your sleeves up and noticed your bracelets, shining and extended to the point they reached near your elbow. A gasp left your lips and as you looked up you met Steve's wide glossy eyes staring back at you in complete shock.
You could faintly hear Natasha say with a smile “I knew it. I knew it.” in relief.
But all you could focus on was the the choked word that left Steve's lips, a kind of realization that didn't just hurt him but actually crushed him “(Y/n)”
And it wasn't a question anymore, because now he was sure.

Goodbye
This is a Brucenat fanfic that I rattled off. Also available on my ff.net profile  ZenWriterZero
Disclaimer: I don’t own the Avengers or anything associated with Marvel Studios or Comics. All I own are the feels from the Endgame. I know this fic has kind of been done already but I just couldn’t help but try my own crack at it. I’m sorry if it feels like ripping someone else off
Goodbye
Agony.
That was Bruce’s entire world as soon as the gauntlet closed around his arm. Pure, unadulterated power coursed through him in a searing pain that burrowed through every cell in his body and spiked itself into every crevice of his brain.
Bring everyone Thanos killed back, bring back everyone Thanos killed back, bring back aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!
Bruce fell to his knees as the gauntlet ripped him to shreds on the inside. He could vaguely hear the sound of the voices of his friends gathered around him, urging him to take it off? He should, he couldn’t do it, he wasn’t strong enough, he wasn’t…
           “Hey big guy…”
For just a moment he heard her, like she was standing right next to him. He grit his teeth and forced himself from the ground, he said they had to make it count. He had to make it count. He had failed people he cared for too many times, he would not fail her, not this time, NOT like this!
Gripping the gauntleted wrist with his other hand, he willed his fingers together as his mind kept being ripped asunder.
Bring everyone Thanos killed back, bring her back, bring everyone Thanos killed back, bring her back, bring everyone Thanos killed! BackbringherbackbringherbackbringeveryoneThanoskilledbackbringherbackbringeveryoneThanoskilledbackbring…!
He screamed as he moved fingers and with one final burst of effort…
           Snap
He was standing on water, illuminated by an orange sky, what looked like a gate with a vaguely oriental styling was the only structure around. He looked down at his hands, not green or huge but his normal hands.
           “You did it.”
He whirled around and saw her, red hair with some streaks of blonde still in, those gorgeous eyes lit up with a smile, but tinged with a bit of sadness.
           “Nat?”
“Stark always said you were the strongest Avenger. Guess he was right, but don’t tell him I said that.”
He looked around, a million questions on the tip of his tongue, are you ok? Thank god you’re alive, where are we? What is this place? How am I?
But that mind of his, that brain that could complete calculations in moments, filled in the blanks. And somehow, he just knew what this place was. And what it meant.
He looked back at her, dread filling his chest.
           “But I couldn’t, you’re still gone, aren’t you?”
           She looked down and nodded.
“It had to be this way.”
“No it didn’t it should have been me, I should’ve…”
Then she was right in front of him, her hand cupping his cheek.
“Don’t do that. It’s ok Bruce, its ok. I knew that you would guys would do it. I knew you would do it. You made it count.”
He gently grabbed the hand that was cupping his cheek and leaned his forehead onto hers.
“You still deserved better. Better than me. I spent so much time blaming myself, trying to fix myself, trying to make peace with myself. I should have been there for you more.”
“We never were very good at catching our window. But I still wouldn’t trade what we did have for anything.”
She reached up and tenderly kissed him, and Bruce wished this moment could go one forever. But like they both were fond of saying, nothing lasts forever.
           They parted lips and hugged.
           “I love you,” he whispered.
           Her arms tightened around him.
           “I love you too, Bruce.”
Then she was over by the gate, looking through it like she was watching something coming through it. Something he couldn’t see. Then she turned back towards him and gave him that smile that never failed to give him butterflies.
           “See you around big guy.”
He came to, gasping for air, laying on the floor of the Avengers Compound, his arm feeling like it had literally been melted off. He felt someone kick the gauntlet away from him.
“Did it work?” he heard someone ask, unsure who it was.
All he knew is that he felt like he had just said goodbye…
Then the world erupted into fire and came crashing down.
           You’re not done yet Bruce…
