She is Karma
There you are karma.
I see you hiding,
Behind those green eyes.
We both know her name, though
No name changes the upheaval
You left in your wake
As you passed through my placid harbor,
While I was blinded by love
Like a night with no moon.
How can one person be the embodiment
Of every painful lesson up to now?
Reminding me, of all the people
That traipsed their muddy boots
Across the immaculate corridors of my trust
Wielded machetes called “Love”
Through the chambers of my bleeding heart.
I feel her there
Picking at the edges of my scars
And as they weep
The poisons seep into my bloodstream.
Lessons long forgotten, but
How surprisingly familiar this pain tastes.
Of course it would be her you chose
As the Pandora to my box of demons.
Karma, you know me so well.
To come to me in a form I could never refuse
Because, oh, what I wouldn’t do
For Love.
I understand now.
I had to love her this much
To learn the lessons you sought to teach.
