I’m afraid of thunder

The booms swallows up every other sound

And the house rattles

And I once shook from desperation

so violently

I thought it was the house rattling

The violent booms swallowed my cries

As I clenched the sheet in my hands to anchor myself

My anchor shaky from desperation because I wanted to kill myself, not because I wanted to die but

because my life tore me apart everyday

and I never had time to put all my pieces back together before I was tore even tinier the next day
