You weren't an Avenger. You couldn't harm a fly, you got sad when a leaf didn't crunch after being stepped on, you hated watching horror movies because you would then be forced to wonder whether someone's under the bed or in your closet. Needless to say, it was quite odd that you were dating one of the most dangerous women you could think of. That wasn't saying much though, considering the fact that you knew of very few deadly women.

Nevertheless, you loved your girlfriend, Yelena, and you knew she loved you back. You, however, knew nothing of how she presented herself to everyone else. Everyone was mostly surprised that Yelena would be in a relationship in the first place, not to mention how much you obviously loved her. They would see you visit the complex whenever she was there, sometimes with a plate of some delicious homemade baked goods or maybe pizzas from the best pizzeria in town, and it would make them wonder why you loved her so much when she seemed to not feel the same way. Little did they know the true nature of your relationship.

Yelena's sides only began to show as you visited her more often, all cuddly and lovey just for her. You would notice how some of the other Avengers gawked at you when she pulled you into a big bearhug or how confused they looked whenever they caught her peppering kisses all over your face. You only really learned how the Avengers viewed her when you were caught in a battle with some villain they were currently facing.

You didn't mean to get caught in the midst of such danger. It just happened so quickly that you couldn't get away in time. Yelena saw you from across the battlefield in the city block and had to keep herself from panicking. Seeing you there, in such a dangerous position, gave her such an adrenaline rush that made her forget about everything except for putting the villain down to get you out of there.

Somehow, the fight was over quicker than it had started, mainly because Yelena just moved and moved until it was over. You watched in amazement at how your girlfriend flipped and twirled around, missing every bullet and laser pointed her way. You honestly weren't sure what she did, but you knew it was over when the villain fell to the ground, their only weapon broken beyond the point of repair.

Once the villain was locked away in the back of a SHIELD truck and it drove off, you and Yelena ran to each other, so glad that the other was alive. "Are you alright?" She asked frantically, hoping beyond hope that you weren't hurt.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm okay. Are you?"

"As long as you're okay, I am too."

You stared into her deep brown eyes for a moment before pressing your lips against hers. This wasn't any regular kiss. It wasn't steamy, but it wasn't simple either. There was so much emotion in this kiss that fueled it and made it so meaningful. It made you happier than words could express to see that she was alright, hence the kiss.

As your lips parted, you leaned your forehead against hers, closing your eyes to savor the moment. You heard her whisper something, likely in Russian, but your ears were ringing too loud for you to hear. Plus, Russian was very much not your strong suit. She pulled away and took your hand in her own, leading you back to the quinjet so you could be away from all the rubble and destruction.

Once you were nearly on the ship, you looked back, hearing someone talking. You saw Steve and Natasha standing side-by-side, watching the strong, cold Yelena they knew soften for you.

"But Yelena worships them?" Steve asked Natasha, honestly confused as to how Yelena's demeanor could change so quickly for you.

"In ways beyond our imagination."

Dante

You were very excited to finally have a Marvel movie marathon with your beloved strawberry lover. Despite him been taking a big gig hunting demons here and there while you stayed at the shop 'cause "It's too dangerous" he quoted.

You huffed at the thought because surely you're a devil hunter too just like the others and capable of taking care of yourself.

But no matter 'cause tonight you two finally have the opportunity to spend some quality times together and you already planned how to spend it all.

You barely have the time to share to your boyfriend about your interest on superheroes. Sometimes you think it's a bit silly to like those kinda stuff based on your age. But you knew your lover better. Someone who loves you just the way you are and won't judge you based on your interests. Also the fact that he's a man-child himself and that's what you love about him.

You two had plenty of movie nights. Most of the movies you watched are either comedy or rom-com. You never had the chance to share your personal all time favourite kind of action movies to your boyfriend. Considering your lives basically already full of action.

As you set everything up, you plugged in the wires from your laptop to the TV so you two could have a better look at it. Snacks? Check. Blankets & pillows? Check. Dante? Not check.

He's been in the shower for 30 minutes and you were getting eager to let your fanatic self out.

Luckily, after two minutes he walked down the stairs. Wearing only t-shirts and his strawberry pattern shorts.

"Hey babe, what are we watching-"

"Sit the fuck down." you hissed while pointing the remote at him.

He's a bit taken back at your respond, raising both his hands in defense but relax after seeing your eyes lighten up in mid second.

He made his way to the couch getting comfy while you did some setting with the TV.

After you're done, you flopped to the couch beside the red devil and play the first movie; Iron Man.

While you two waited for the intro, you started talk about the infamous genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist to Dante. The backstory, about his dad Howard Stark who also was a genius in the 1940's.

Fast forward, you keep talking. Every time the best scenes about to come you couldn't help but bounce a little on the couch while you continue talk about it.

This keep happening until you two reach your sixth movie; The Avengers.

Now you're very hyped about this one.

You told Dante this is where everyone would team up to beat Thor's brother Loki from opening a portal of an alien attack.

You two shared a laugh after commenting about how similar the Asgardian brothers to him and Vergil.

Pretty sure you can imagine Dante in an armor with a cape while flying around using a hammer.

You don't know how long have you two been staying up watching the movies. It's already past midnight and you're watching the eighth movie; Thor: The Dark World.

To be honest, you expected to Dante falling asleep after the fifth movie despite him being tired with his job but there he is, wide awake just like you. Watching the movie at the same time listening to every words you say.

He barely talks. Just makes a few comment, ask some questions while you gladly and proudly answered them all correctly. But some you left unanswered because you don't wanna spoil to him the biggest best part and let him watch it 'till you get to see the amazed faces he make.

You love it when he makes bunch of reaction faces. It's funny but most of them are lovely to look at. 'Cause that's all it was. You just love to look at his face.

While he on the other hand loves listening to your sweet voice. He loves how you eyes sparkled at TV light as you speak about every characters in the movies. The energized facial expression you made at every second. He could do this all day (ayy see what i did there). And he wouldn't trade it for the world to keep seeing you this happy.

Eventually both of your energies wear off, right at the almost end of AOU

You two yawned, cuddle close to each other leaving no space while wrapped in your fluffy blanket.

The credit roles as you lay your head on Dante's chest but you eyes stayed open.

He looked down to see that you haven't fall asleep and still not taking your eyes from the screen.

Dante yawned again "Just sleep babe. I'll turn off the tv later."

"Only a fool would skip marvel's end credits."

Seriously?

Yes, seriously.

Vergil

When you first thought of bringing the idea to binge Marvel movies with Vergil you were a bit hesitant.

Knowing him, you knew he's not the type to enjoy watching action alien fighting fiction stuff. He's more of a documentary, black and white movie person.

Not that you minded. You totally respect his usual interests. But you just thought or knew your interest wouldn't match his.

So one night you were watching Wandavision in your laptop on your shared bed, wrapped in a blanket while eating your favorite snacks.

Your lover recently been on a mission with Dante and Nero somewhere in Fortuna.

After Vergil told you that he'll be away for a week, you already knows how to spend your week alone.

You admired the silent. You really do.

You would vibe the songs from GOTG and sing loudly around your apartment. No one can stop you. Not even the neighbour's cat.

You'd cry and sob loudly while watching Infinity War.

You even cheers loudly jumping from couch to couch in your bath robe reacting to Endgame's final battle. Pretty sure the whole building hears you.

Wake up every morning while singing to "Marvel Bunch"? Yea that's you motherfucker.

It was fun letting your fanatic self out for once in a while. Most people you've met weren't into what you like. They'd say liking superhero stuff are childish. Plus you getting excited with the thing that doesn't exist (yea we all felt that). But c'mon, that's one of the way to stay alive. Demons exist so why can't aliens? You thought that sometimes. Probably the reason why you haven't got any friends in school or college.

Part of you also afraid of getting judge by Vergil. Afraid that he'll give you the same statement. Both about you and the thing you're into.

Yea what a coward you are but can you blame yourself?

It's not that you didn't trust him. You're just afraid. Afraid to hear those hurtful judgemental comments coming back to haunt you and your insecurities.

That's why you kept it a secret. Hide your true colour both for your sake and other's.

Oh how the days went so fast you thought. As you heard the main door opened with a not so heavy sigh but heavy enough to reach your ears.

Even though you missed him you were glad that he got to spend some time with his brother and son. Plus you got the whole apartment to yourself for the whole week so that's totally a bonus. But boy ain't it happened so soon.

You started to panic.

You currently surrounded by both dirty tissues and empty back of chips.

You've been crying watching Wanda reacted to un-alive Vision. And you didn't even realize you ate this much of snacks.

You're eyes are puffy red from crying. Should I mention your hair? You're in your PJs AND bath robe wrapped in your big blanket. Dear God, your parents must be very disappointed in you if they see you right now. It's like got caught smoking weed or something.

In a condition which you last expected Vergil to see you. He's totally going to kill you for trashing the bed.

You quickly throw everything in the small bin beside your bed and swipe off the dust from the bed.

You touched your cheeks to feel that your tears are still fresh so you quickly rush to the bathroom to wash your face.

But before you could reach the bathroom door the bedroom door creaks open, making you freeze in your spot.

For about five seconds or so you two haven't move or say anything. It's getting awkward so you're the one who speaks first.

"H-hey, Vergil. Welcome home. H-how's your week? How's the job?" you asked turning you head a bit but not visible enough for him to see your face.

He scanned the room first before answering. Looking around the bed, seeing couple of tissue box on the nightstand with your laptop still on.

"Yes. It went fine as usual. Nothing we couldn't handle." His eyes still roaming around the room including your figure.

"That's good, that's good. Great to see you in one piece too."

That's weird considering you didn't even faced him when he stepped in the room.

"Are you well?" he immediately asked.

"Yep. I'm fine. Never been better."

You need to keep remind yourself that he is not the one to get fooled easily. Not when you're speaking in your obvious sore throat and the sniffing.

You made your way to the bathroom but somehow stopped by Vergil putting a hand on your shoulder, pulling you softly so you're facing him.

To be honest you are half worried 'cause on the other hand the bedroom lights are off and the only thing that is supporting both of your visions is the bathroom light so you could barely see each other's faces.

"I'm sick..?" you break the silence.

He gave you a disapproved face. "If you are sick you know better to take a rest than staying up this late."

When he said that you eyed the digital clock on the nightstand to see it's already midnight. Not like it's the first time you've stayed up late this week. You're hoping he won't tryna lecture you for not taking care of your health.

"You are not sick aren't you?" he said as he tilted you head up a bit using his finger under your chin.

Busted. You mentally cursed.

You pulled his hand from your chin and rest it on your cheek. "Yea I just missed you." Hopefully that cover up will work.

He hummed "After I am finish cleaning myself up, how about I join you...watching your favourite..film?"

This made your eyes widened. Did you hear that right? You looked at him and blink twice. Did he actually mean that? All you see is a genuine soft yet tired face.

You pretty sure only you invited him to a movie night and yet he just invited himself so this totally just change your night.

Then it clicks you. He knew. He knew about your fanatic interests but he never said anything about it and was just waiting the right time for you to open up to him. That makes you feel bad. But does that matter now? He already know, so?

Your face beamed and nod repeatedly almost aggressively. You quickly jumped back to bed and waited for him.

Now here you two are, sitting on the bed getting yourselves comfy while you're telling Vergil the short summaries from every each Marvel movies in your laptop secretly eager for him to pick one.

Eventually he made up his mind and picked one of the best MCU movie; Thor Ragnarok. You mentally screamed FUCK Y E S.

The rest of the night you two on half of the movie it went well while he listened carefully to you being enthusiastically talking further more about Thor from the previous movies before.

You teased him how Loki reminds you a bit of him. Despite both of their outfits are quite similar but just different colours and the slick back haired, you cannot unsee it now.

"You should dress as him on Halloween."

"Absolutely NOT."

Nero

Now this boy he may not often watch movies but he would be into sci-fi actions. You just know it.

You guys have watch Star Wars, Star Trek, Jurassic World etc. so why now the MCU franchise?

You showed him some clips of Marvel movies' best moments in your phone and most of them he loved it.

You practically didn't hide your interest from him. He didn't mind about you being into those kinda stuff. Being fanatic is normal.

You two would sometimes play "which Marvel character are you?" on BuzzFeed to prevent your boredom. He got Bucky and you were not surpised.

Marvel merch? Hell yea, you owned lots of 'em.

One day he came into your apartment seeing you drinking from your massive Infinity Gauntlet cup.

You gladly let him use it after he keeps eyeing that thing.

You also owed few of Marvel comics. Your shelves practically full of them. Some you have to put in a drawer 'cause there's no space left in the house.

Sometimes you two did nothing but chillin' around in your bean bags reading comics while Marvel soundtracks is playing on the speaker (I want this).

You guys totally went to Comic-Con.

You'd buy a matching Marvel t-shirts. You got yourselves the matching tees of Falcon which is for you and Winter Soldier is for Nero 'cause just because.

Speaking of Falcon and Winter Soldier, his favourite Marvel series is TFATWS. He just love the duo. Both are Steve's besties who soon got stuck with each other and you couldn't agreed more.

His favourite MCU movie is CATWS 'cause just because.

He cried watching Endgame you cannot change my mind.

You went crazy after seeing the What If's trailer and you practically forced immediately told him to watch it.

One day you decided to invite him to watch Black Widow.

"Hey Nero, wanna go watch Black Widow at the theater?"

"Yeah sure."

"Okay let's go." Tickets already in your hand.

"Wait, right now-"

You invited Nico too much to Nero's dismay thought he's only spending the time with only the both of you.

You two cried at the end credit.

Nico doesn't. She doesn't have a soul.

You told Nero to buy Kyrie a Black Widow plushie 'cause the redhead assassin reminds you of her.

You also bought various of Marvel plushies for the orphans.

You felt like Tony Stark for a moment there.

You downloaded a full playlist of songs that was in GOTG and played it over and over again in the van.

You two would vibe on "The Rubberband Man" singing out the lyrics even Nico starting to get sick of it. But some of the song she actually liked it.

You also would especially vibe to "Come and Get Your Love". Making small dances and pulling each other's hands while smiling gleefully. Nico and Kyrie would just happily watch the two of you having fun.

"What a sappy couple." That earned a giggle from Kyrie.

Nico recorded the shits go down. Every. Single. One.

So she could blackmail him for later.

Bonus: Whenever all of the DMC crew are in a mission all together you'd play "Guardians' Inferno" to add the moment to be more cinematic.

Uncle Dante's improved.

V

V is quite similar with Vergil since he IS his human self after all. Prefers something classics. But that doesn't mean he don't want to explore other things and get to know about what you love. I'm pretty sure he has more balls than Vergil do.

He have seen the things you often do around your apartment. He's been watching you. Not in a creepy way ofc.

You'd often sit around or sometime close to him reading your Marvel comics while he read his usual stuff. He'd often take a few peek to on what you are reading.

He sometimes wonder what that book with various of pictures could possibly make you smile or laugh by yourself. And not once ever you thinking of sharing it with him. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't a bit upset about it.

Well curiosity get the best of him so one day he finally decides to ask you.

The fact that he bothers to ask you about your reading material which made your heart flustered. Well you can't blame him. Everyone could be curious.

You never share it with him. Because one, you don't find it necessary from him to know and he'll never feel interested anyway. And two, he never ask.

But now he actually did which means he cares so have that as a bonus.

You showed the pictures you're reading to him. From page to page. So far he is quite amazed on how fascinating artists' artworks could be.

Then he asked you to read it for him.

You were taken back by his request. Not ever anyone ever ask you to read for them something or anything. Let alone a comic. But this is V we're talking about.

Don't know if you should count this as blessing or not. You were a bit hesitant and try to rewind back of what you just heard. Hoping he didn't actually say that but part of you did.

V patiently waited for your answer still looking at your space out face.

You snapped yourself from your inner thoughts and agrees to read it to him. Which he respond with a soft smile that would never fails to melt you.

So you started to read from the very beginning of the comic.

You tried your best to read the characters' lines with the matching voice expressions of themselves.

And V is already secretly proud of you.

You keep reading and he is getting impressed by your voice imitations. Even though he didn't know any of the characters but he can tell you read them in a correct tone of the characters for each voices.

Not long after you have finished reading it.

He claps.

You blushed hard and said it was nothing.

He said he would love to listen to you reading for him again and you shyly but gladly agreed.

"If you'd like, we could watch the movie to experience it more."

"There's a movie?" *blink guy meme*

Pretty sure you hear your fanatic self about to come out of its shell after he said that.

Yes you two have watch movies together but it's nothing about or anything with aliens, sorcerer or a guy with a flying hammer. But boy you can't wait to show him all that.

So you told him that night you two will have a movie marathon in which he happily agreed. Like he got anything better to do.

Weeks have spend and all you guys did was literally just binge MCU movies.

You talked all week. The talking. The talking never stops. You even had a white board full with notes and pictures of people from the movies on how you connected them from here to there. You know that "Me trying to explain" meme? Yea that was you.

Don't worry, you took breaks. Griffon made you. You have made him admit that you are more annoying than him so congrats.

Talk about Griffon, of course he joined the two of you. Even Shadow and Nightmare. The more the merrier after all.

V's favourite movie is....you ready for this?

Black Panther. (Give yourself a clap if you got that right.)

Is there even an explanation to this? I'm afraid not. It's already obvious.

You bought V a Black Panther t-shirt. It's not that big but not too small for his size despite him being lanky. Even it fits on you.

You politely asked V to make the Wakanda Forever pose with Shadow standing beside him.

You snapped a picture.

You broke down because the sight is too magnificent to handle. V rushed to you to see if you're okay.

Welp, guess "introducing to your loved once about your sick obssession" is out of the bucket list. It's worth it so you earned double bonus.

When there's a mission where you would team up with Griffon you would make a compliment and nicknamed him with one of the Avengers.

He's a bit offended though.

"I saw a parasite down the bay."

"Good eye, Hawkeye."

"ExCuSe mE?! Do I look lik-"

Turns out he underestimated Agent Barton. You're gonna have to fry teach him a lesson later for talking shit about your favourite underrated Avenger.

There's one time where everyone was included in a mission. V was with Nero while you split and ran off somewhere else. When V said that one line,

"I'll go high, you go low. Keep moving. Don't let them (the demons) get away." Nero command.

"Don't worry. I'll never freeze." he snapped his finger as his hair turned white.

Pretty sure he (and Nero too) heard some kinda scream of agony from somewhere not far from theirs. But he knew that was you who were just fangirling so hard he can't even figure out how you could manage to hear him from here.

MCU Breakdown: Black Widow, Part 1

I can’t believe this is happening 😭

First of all, congratulations to all of you who’ve been here all these years. We got it. We begged for years, and it’s finally here.

For once I wasn't dreading revisiting this film to write down what I got from it. I felt more like I might not do it justice. This film is so special to me, but here it is, the MCU Breakdown of Black Widow, part 1 (of who knows how many).

I remember back when I started running this blog and talking about a hypothetical Black Widow movie that had never been announced, always "yeah, we would be happy to do it, maybe, someday in the future", and arguing that it would be important for women and girls, no matter its content. I'm so glad we got it like this. So, so glad.

The rest under the cut.

Let's start with some technical details. The film has a lot of setups and callbacks, nothing is done in chance. For example, I love how the light, and the sounds we hear when we first, and last, see Natasha in the film, are the same. We greet her in bright -birds cheeping- morning light, while she's riding her bike home, to her family

and we leave her in bright -birds cheeping- morning light, while she's riding her bike home, to her family (I'm using the term family very liberally here in reference to the Avengers for the sake of the movie, bear with me, you know how I feel about those dudes).

It's signifying new beginnings, each time, not endings. Notice how, what we see is natural light, which makes this scene pop out, and look more real because the light is coming from the sun, and isn’t artificially made on VFX software. You will notice the stark differences in colours and lighting when the emotions and the atmosphere change in this film, because there is a visual language being employed here, the director has a story to say, and she uses all the tools she has to tell it. The light is exactly the same in those 2 scenes, because Cate wants us to make that connection, even if we make it unconsciously.

Natasha is placed in such a positive way, both at the start and the end of the film. There's this discussion about how "real" their little family was, but it was the characters that muddled up that image. The reality of their lives in Ohio is presented in a happy way, that had deep rivers under the surface, for sure. This wasn't accidental, for a lot of reasons.

First of all, if you take it the literal way, they were spies, and had to present themselves as normal. If you take it the allegorical way, any girl could fall victim to trafficking, and if you take it the character way, both Scarlett and Cate wanted to showcase that Natasha is human. They also wanted to give her something that wasn't always dripping with pain and sadness. They were both parts of her life, yes, but there was also joy, and light, and once upon a time she had been a kid, playing with her sister.

Also, and this has been mentioned before but it bears repeating: I love the actress they chose for young Natasha, and I love how they presented her character. She's allowed to be a young teenage girl. She's not sexualised. She's at that gangly stage between childhood and adulthood, and there's nothing sexual about it, no provocative clothing, no excessive makeup. She's a kid.

Plus, I know Cate said the actress already had her hair dyed blue and they just decided to let her have it, but I think it works well for Natasha's character. That small act of defiance, even that early on, against the system that wanted to break her. Also, the film gives us such great character moments, because they let the camera roll and don't rush through scenes, look at Natasha looking at Melina comforting Yelena. We can see the pain, the fear, where she knows that this isn't going to last, and wonders about what will become of them once their lives begin to unravel.

We also get to see the joy on her face, the wonder of discovering the world, how often do you get to see Marvel characters do this, just live in the moment?

Bioluminescence: the production and emission of light by a living organism. Or how Natasha is a bright light, that shines from within. Not my words, Cate Shortland's words. I felt it when I was watching this scene, but it was lovely to have it verified in one of her interviews. I wish I could meet her, and tell her that everything she wanted to put on screen came through, incandescent and crystal clear. Fireflies are a symbol for Natasha, as a bright light that shines from within, and never dies.

Small details that I love, the magnet on the fridge: Don't forget, above a picture of Natasha. LIKE WE EVER COULD, CATE.

We have another setup here, where the family gathers up to have dinner together. Even the sitting arrangement is the same as later on in the film.

Notice also how both young, and adult version of Natasha, communicate so well with Melina, just with their eyes. It doesn't necessary show a deep history between them, but it does show a bone deep level of understanding. Not just of their current circumstance, but of their future, and of what it will do to them. Melina knows what's coming and she's says it "I'm sorry", but they're both resigned to their fate, Melina because she doesn't see a way out, and Natasha because, well, here she's a kid, and therefore is powerless.

The dynamics between Yelena and Alexei is so different. Yelena is young and doesn't understand, so they're speaking about completely different things. "I don't have my shoes" is what she says, and it's heartbreaking in its innocence, as Alexei is loading his gun and reading himself for battle. We can still see that he's not indifferent to her, telling her she can have "fruit loops in the car". He's not a monster, he just doesn't have a choice (or at least, he thinks he doesn't).

Also, notice how the camera angles are employed here: Natasha and Melina look each other eye to eye, Yelena looks up to Alexei, Alexei looks down on her, there is an imbalance of power and understanding in the second set of images, and the camera tells us that.

Melina doesn't let Natasha take the photo album. For one thing, it's certain that Natasha wouldn't be able to keep it. For another, Melina wanted the memories, and probably didn't want anyone else to realise/think that they cared about their little family unit.

There's just a lot of thought that's been put in the details of the script, to show us their bond, their attempts to hide it, to show the characters' personality in everything around them (notice the plants that are ever present in Melina's home, in Ohio and later in Saint Petersburg). She might seem cold, she has been through a lot, but she cares. And that care has brought her pain. And we have to see that pain, because we get the quiet moments like this one, where she stands alone in an empty home knowing that part of her life is over, never to return.

The mission, is the last thing Melina asks about. The last thing Alexei mentions, the last thing either of them cares about. First, she refused to accept that they had completed the mission and were now hunted, then she accepted it and they loaded their family in the car, and then she asked about the leaked files.

Also, notice how that shot is framed. Both images silhouetted by the light because it’s the moment and the prop smack down in the middle of the frame that’s important, now what they’re going through, emotionally, they’re not themselves in that moment, they’re nameless, tools of the trade, expendable in front of that tiny floppy disk.

Yelena is singing while the rest are plunging in despair, but still humour her and play her song.

I found this shot a bit... Jarring. I get it that for American audiences this would show that they're actually leaving "home" behind, but for the rest of us... Eeeh, I'll give it a pass because it is an American production and this is just something to be expected. I mean, Yelena's song was American Pie. We get it, you still love America, just because you're making a film about Russian spies doesn't mean you're a commie Marvel, it's ok.

But in any case, the setup for the action scene here was excellent. Happy, familiar music playing, car is on the main road, car goes off the main road familiar music gets toned down and eventually completely lost in the darkness.

Yelena knows what to do, we see it, so that we know that this 6 year old girl who holds her stuffed animal and walks barefoot has practiced for this moment.

By the way, Natasha did take another item with her along with the photobooth pictures (it also looks like a photo album with Disney princesses on it), it didn't survive the trip. We are informed of this for a very specific reason: Melina didn’t ask Natasha not to take the photo album out of malice, or just because she wanted to keep it for herself. She knew it wouldn’t survive the trip in Natasha’s hands. We also get a close shot of the image strip (and we get it again, during the credits), because it will be important, later on.

Bet y'all also forgot you were watching a superhero movie until this happened? That wasn't accidental, they wanted us to see them as normal people, this is the moment when that ends.

Natasha saved her family, even though she was a terrified kid.

I know that they did the huge titles thing to connect this film to Civil War but... Listen, Civil War needed the huge titles because that script and the way that movie was directed was a complete disaster. We needed to know where the characters were each time with huge ass title because there was NO OTHER WAY TO TELL. Between complete lack of a timeline, and the fact that you couldn't even tell what time of the day it was due to the horrible lighting, you definitely couldn't tell what the location was because it was irrelevant to the plot like, 90% of the time. Not to mention the title cards in Civil War were usually followed by dimly lit grey corridors so, yeah, give us a title so we know at least where they are, generally.

This film. Didn't Need That. For the most part anyway, there are 2 locations where the titles worked. First one was Ohio, the other I'll reveal later.

But here. Guys, they're Russian spies escaping from the US on a small plane... Where else would they go if not to Cuba?!?! This is the Black Widow movie paying for the sins of Civil War, in a small way in this instance.

Yelena tells Melina that pain only makes you stronger, Natasha cries, and they setup my heartbreak for later.

Natasha protecting Yelena, terrified, and staring men down the barrel of her gun anyway. Such a badass and heartbreaking callback.

Notice how this scene makes us look at how men view this. There's an allegory here as well, but I'll address what's actually happening in the film:

Dreykov notices Natasha's natural instinct to protect herself and her sister, and all he sees is something he can use. A tool for violence, instead of sex, in this case. But the implication is there. Not a person, or a terrified girl, just an object to be used by men.

So glad that piece of shit got blown up and never mentioned again. Any man looking for exposition on Dreykov to feel the "loss" when the villain is gone: Fuck you. Go get some therapy.

Moving on from that piece of shit, difference between Melina and Alexei: Melina apologised. Alexei lied, but he also tried to give them hope. We can see the devastation, because the soldiers never thought of them as girls like he did, and didn't blink before drugging them and taking them away.

Yet another setup, of Natasha and Yelena, drugged and powerless as they are taken away. Because it wasn't enough that they were kids, they took away all their choices, and rendered them unconscious.

What can I possibly say about this credits scene.

It's very real, probably the realest minutes in the entire MCU, and it's merciless. They don't try to sugar-coat what's happening, and there are no jokes to diffuse the drama. These are girls being trafficked from all over the world. I don't know about you but I felt the switch from true parallel to real life traffic victims like this shot that looks like footage from Interpol

to Red Room victims as being a clear shift, and I was actually grateful for it. Because here I could put my back against the fact that the red room wasn't real, otherwise I would have broken down before the credit sequence even ended.

It was a stroke of genius to create an introduction to this entire world like that. We rarely see credit sequences anymore and it's a shame, because when they're well done they tell stories in and of themselves, and this is one of the best I've seen.

Even the villain is set up here. He's pointing at girls and saying "that one, and her", like he's picking pigs for slaughter. How much more setup than that do you need, to want to murder that man dead? Not any more, that was enough.

Subtle, but there. Trafficking (and traffickers) exists because it IS being tolerated by governments around the world.

Unnecessary title aside, who else says Natasha looks at herself in the mirror hear and repeats "pain only makes you stronger", as she's being hunted away from yet another family.

Then she's saying it again because it bears repeating and Natasha has been through A Lot these past few years. I love how unfiltered our first image of her is. After all she's been through, we basically see her stripped of all her tricks in a moment where she’s alone with herself and her thoughts(something we later learn she tries not to do much), and she's just a woman having a tiny breakdown in a semi-public bathroom. Again, human.

Just saw your post about the post phase 1 Marvel movies and the meme you used for CA:CW. So I'm here to ask and get you cancelled. What did you think about the movie? Are you Team Stark or Team Rogers?

I hate this movie, I hate this movie with every fiber of my being. Watching it was torture, it as the longest 20hrs of my life. It was like living out one of those very confusing math problems I started this movie at 10am somehow 6pm rolls around and there are still 2hrs left! Coño cómo?! I watched this with my mom, and when we checked how much time was left we were left looking at each other like 'que carajo what twilight zone bullshit is this?' It's one of those Marvel movies that I am so glad I did not waste my money on, I wish I could get a refund for my time but I made my choice and I shall now have to deal with it.

I hate this movie for many reasons but I'm not gonna make y'all wait any longer for what you're really here for because I know what y'all really want to know is whether I am Team Iron Man or Team Captain America. When it comes to the political aspects ie. the Accords, I am Team Neither.

Now, I cannot get into a comprehensive debate about the Accords because the writers did a shitty ass job, in a 2 and a 1/2 hour movie that felt like a lifetime, at explaining what exactly the Accords are in the movie universe. Emphasis on the movie universe, because I have seen debates go on in this motherfucking fandom where some people will bring up aspects from the comics Registration Acts but we're not talking about the comics okay, we're talking about the movies! And they're two fucking different things! And the movie did a shitty ass job at explaining what the Accords are, and that's one of the reasons I hate this movie: that it's so badly written.

But back to the point, which is where I stand on the teams when it comes to the politics, I am Team Neither because ultimately they were both idiots on how they handled this, and I think they both have good points like yes the Avengers and other superheroes should 100% be held accountable if they fuck up, the fact that they are superheroes and the "good guys" doesn't mean that their actions shouldn't have consequences but at the same time Steve's mistrust of the government and concerns that the team and others could be weaponized are also valid so I think they both have good points when it comes down to it and the smart thing to do - and in my opinion what would have made a much better film- would have been to come together and make like a counterproposal, decide on amendments, try to ensure they can get a representative so they have a voice on the table.

So, there you go when it comes to the Accords I am Team Neither however when it comes to the characters and their actions I am 1,000% Team Tony. At the end of the day he wanted to do what was best for both people and for his team, he wanted to keep the team together because he knew they were stronger together, and he was thinking long term not short term.

And then there's Steve who is an asshole in this film and completely lacks self awareness, cause there's a scene in the film after they've found out about the Accords where Steve goes "that's because he already made up his mind" about Tony and I'm just like bitch so did you, pot meet kettle, Rogers you knew from the get go that you weren't going to sign those papers don't go acting different and then like- here's the thing Steve has some very good points when it comes to the Accords but one of his points is that the UN is filled with people with agendas and agendas change which true but also motherfucker you yourself have an agenda! The whole Sokovia mess is an example that they cannot be trusted to hold themselves or each other accountable because inevitably the time will come where they'll want to protect their team mate like we see in this movie Steve do with Bucky, or how he wanted to protect Wanda because he looks at her as if she were a child not an adult. Steve, you lot are not exempt from having your own agendas and biases.

And through pretty much the entire movie, he has this whole my way or the highway attitude like this man does not know the meaning of compromise in this film, and he has such tunnel vision for Bucky- and listen! listen, listeeeeeen, I get it, I don't judge Steve for making his bestie a priority; I understand that Bucky is incredibly important to Steve, that he's the one person who's gonna look at him as just Steve and not as the Steve Rogers, I get that he carries a guilt over what happened to his friend, I understand he misses him, I understand all of that and respect the ride or die game but goddamn he was so focused on being a good friend to Bucky that he forgot about everyone and everything else and was a shit friend to Tony.

Actually a lot of people in this film were shit to Tony for no goddamn reason but Steve was such a shitty friend not telling Tony about his parents, that was a shitty ass thing to do and listen! I know what some of y'all are thinking you're thinking some version of 'he wanted to protect Tony' shut the fuck up. No, no, that's an excuse and it's a cheap one, you know damn well that was a shitty thing for Steve to do and y'all know damn well you would have reacted the same way Tony did if someone who you thought was your goddamn friend knew about something horrible that happened to people that were important to you and they never told you; that kind of shit hurts, and finding out someone you thought of as a friend doesn't care about you as much as you care about them hurts.

And y'all know goddamn well how emotions work, you know emotions aren't gonna wait for the rational brain to kick in don't some of y'all go playing dumb as if you didn't know this shit. Same way deep down all of y'all know Tony was holding his punches, that man gave Thanos a fight and got some blood if he had wanted to kill Bucky he would have. Don't none of y'all motherfuckers try to play games and act like you don't know this info.

Steve was a shit friend to Tony. Period. The least he could have done is have some empathy or compassion towards Tony when he saw his parent's being killed- and I swear to motherfucking god to the person who is getting close to their keyboard thinking of saying he showed compassion by not killing him back the fuck away from your motherfucking keyboard what did I tell you about playing stupid, this is properly tagged, stay in your fucking lane. Some of y'all be acting as if it were still 2016 and we're gonna be talking about that too, anon wanted my opinion on this film so now I'm going off.

Back to what I was saying, in some ways Steve wasn't a perfect friend to Bucky either cause he kept looking at Bucky and thinking of the guy he used to know but Bucky's not that person anymore, he's been through a lot of shit and it feels at times like Steve didn't fully realize that.

I hate Steve in this movie, I wanna punch him in the throat; he's an ass, he thinks he's above the rules, he's unaware of his own flaws, he might be a good friend to Bucky but that's it. I don't blame Steve though I blame the writers cause they're the ones who wrote him this way; moving on from Steve, I wanna talk about Wanda real quick, I don't hate the character of Wanda but I do hate the way she was written in this film, I hate that the writers expect us as an audience to look at this adult and think of her as a defenseless child who should be exempt from consequences, I hate that instead of actually doing something with her and exploring some interesting dynamics they just give her an AI boyfriend and a pinterest quote which sounds nice but falls flat especially considering she says said quote as she uses her powers (which is what people are afraid of) to send her love interest down several floors of a building. They could have done so many cool and interesting things with her, shame they didn't.

Another thing I hate about this film is what it did to the fandom, and how it was promoted because it was very much promoted as a pick your fighter, pick a side type of movie and after this movie came out I feel like the divide between Tony fans and Steve fans grew toxically and the effects are still seen to this day like some people really do be acting as if it were still 2016 and attacking others for what side they went with or for who their fav between the two is, and I'll be very honest a lot of the hate I have seen has been directed towards Tony and Tony fans. I hate that, I hate when TPTB deliberately pits fans against each other cause it just encourages a toxic environment.

Let me think was there anything that I liked about this film- wait, oh my god talking about all these other things I hate almost made me forget the thing I hate the most about this movie: it's pointless. Its existence is unnecessary; the biggest aspect of this film isn't the politics of the Accords, it's Steve and Bucky and how far Steve is willing to go for Bucky and have him by his side...but Endgame exists. The end of Endgame turns this film pointless, because the only true point of this movie is the relationship between Steve and Bucky that's the biggest takeaway from the whole thing, but then you have the end of Endgame where Steve just leaves Bucky.

I hated this film before I saw Endgame but after.....I never plan to watch Civil War again but if I did I'm pretty sure I'd self combust cause I'd be so angry I'd scream every time Steve appeared cause that son of a bitch ends up leaving; tears the whole team apart only to end up leaving his friend behind in the end.

I hate this film, I hate everything about it, well that's not true I love the Tony and Peter stuff, but aside from a couple of things I hate this movie, someone give me time stone I'm eliminating it from the timeline.

In conclusion, I am Team Neither on the Accords, Team Tony on everything else, Steve I still like you but this movie demoted you in my eyes and makes me wanna punch you in the throat.

Soooooo I'm doing this cuz I'm bored to show y'all how dumb some of your arguments and criticisms of the live action spidermen are. I did Garfield already. I'll do Maguire if someone shows me where people have hated on his spidey cuz all I ever see for him is people treating him like he's the most perfect Peter Parker to ever exist. I'd never tell anyone how they're "supposed" to feel about a situation so I won't do that and also don't take this seriously I'm just a dumb teenager. I'm just taking the dumb opinions y'all like to pass as fact and rebutting them with actual facts.

😐If this is your main critique of Tom Holland's spiderman, pls go find another one. This is so overused. The "they're only famous cuz they're hot" excuse has been used for every hot actor/actress ever. At this point, it isn't even real criticism, you just come off as lame. And yeah, alot of people like him because he's hot, but that's definitely not the only reason.

1) Let's be real. The fandom pushed irondad wayyyy more than the actual movies did.

2) If you still use this argument after Far From Home, you missed the whole point of what FFH was supposed to be.

I was scrolling through tumblr and I saw a great point that someone made.

That entire movie was about him coming into his own as a hero, facing his problems head-on, and dealing with the threat by himself. That was the point of the whole movie. Yes, he had the Stark tech to help him make a suit, but he designed it himself, and then he went up against a threat that had incredibly powerful Stark tech at their disposal and still won. By himself. Everyone was asking who the next Iron Man would be and Happy even flat out said "You're not Iron Man." Because he isn't. He came into his own. He is established now.

Peter started the movie a bit lost without Tony and just wanting to deny his responsibilities and get away for a while.

He ended the movie finally accepting himself for who he was and even having to fight against Stark technology. He had to rely on himself and instead of worrying about this title that's been put on him, he has to just go with his own instincts (all the way down to his web shooters running out and having to literally just rely on his mind and his body) and look his responsibilities in the face. Idk a better way for him to have broken out of being "ironboy".

3) Plus, they needed some way to bring Spiderman into the MCU. And Tony is practically the MCU's Bruce Wayne when it comes to "adopting" children. Of course he was gonna be the one to bring him in.

Happy- Happy Hogan is not Peter's mentor. He literally helped him out in ONE scene. That is not enough to be a mentor.

Mysterio- He is also not a mentor. Storywise, he was Peter's scapegoat to caste his responsibilities onto because he didn't want them/feel he was worthy of them. And then later he was a villain. Just because the two have one small pep talk, doesn't mean he's a mentor.

I think most ppl that say this stuff really just don't want Peter to have any help. What you guys fail to realize is that getting help does not make you any less of a hero. You can still be a solo hero and get a peptalk every now and then. Batman, Superman, Ironman. They all get help from people in their movies and I don't see anyone complaining about it or saying they need to be alone.

Also, grow up? This dude is literally a sophmore/junior in high school. They talk so much about how he's literally a kid. Alot of the spiderman comics take place with him still being in high school. He doesn't have to be an adult. And as far as maturity goes, it's not like he's a dumb kid. He's just a teen doing what teens do.

Come on guys. How many times have we seen this origin story? We all know it.

The story takes place when he's ALREADY spiderman so Uncle Ben is ALREADY dead. (They even have his suitcase in FFH). Just because they don't really mention it doesn't mean it didn't happen. We don't need to see the same origin story again. I mean, does every Batman movie mention Bruce's parents dying in the alley? No. Cuz we all already know it does. Origin stories are integral but the MCU wasn't erasing his, they were simply just starting after it.

And in every spidey story Uncle Ben always teaches him "with great power comes great responsibility". Well if you watch the movies, MCU Peter learns his lessons in responsibilities sooooo we're covered there.

Yeah yeah we all love Uncle Ben but him already passing doesn't mean the story's bad. That's just where they wanted to start lol.

Homecoming: If Vulture would've won, there would've been more easily accessible alien weapons available for criminals like the Shocker, the Tinkerer, etc. Also Vulture would have been a criminal loose on the streets. Regardless of his intentions, he was a guy willing to kill for what he wanted.

FFH: What Mysterio was doing, even though it was an illusion, was actually causing casualties. His workers talked about it to him over and over again. Especially if the last attack in London (i think?) would have worked, alot of people would have died. Also the world would have been tricked into depending on someone that actually couldn't really keep them safe.

Lol but regardless, Peter doesn't have to be dealing with a gigantic threat. The whole thing about being a superhero is doing what's right, regardless of how big or small the situation is. He's literally fought with the Avengers. I think he's proven himself.

All in all Tom Holland is the best (for me personally). I never have an issue when he's on screen and he's really just so awesome😊

💌Lovesick: A parkner love story 💌

(This is a little sneak peek of something that I'm writing. Hope y'all like it!)

"Hey spider boy. Pepper wants me tomorrow for intern stuff so what do you say we do something in the lab?" Harley was confused when he didn't get an answer. Then he turned around and saw Peter taking off his mask. He was pale and had bags under his eyes "You look like a dead tarantula, spidey"

"Harls I'm fine" Peter threw his mask in the table and went to Harley's table "What are you doing?"

"Just some science project. FRIDAY what's wrong with Peter?" Peter rolled his eyes at Harley's answer

"It seems like Peter has a temperature of 102.2 degrees farenheit" Peter laughed

"Fri, I am fine" Harley raised an eyebrow. Goddamit he looked cute

"God Spidey. What am I supposed to do with you?" Peter immediately put his hand in the wall next to Harley. Oh god

"I have a couple suggestions" Peter was cornering Harley. Peter was cornering Harley.

"W-what?" Harley was being cornered by a Peter that looked so hot

"Come on Keener. We both know that this is supposed to happen" Peter was smaller than Harley, but he still could be so intimidated by him. However, Peter had a fever. He couldn't give it to him even tho he wanted. He couldn't do that to Peter. But god it was hard

"Peter stop it. Lay in the couch" Harley pushed Peter away and dragged him to the couch "I am gonna make you soup"

"Come on Harley" Peter said grabbing Harley's wrist. Harley rolled his eyes and took off Peter's hand

"Lay down Parker" He got in the elevator and sighted when the doors closed "Penthouse Fri" Was the only thing that came out of Harley's mouth

"You seem in distress" FRIDAY informed. Harley chuckled and shook his head

"I'm ok FRIDAY" The silence that the AI provided could be easily confused with doubt. The door opened and Harley went straigt to the kitchen. He took all the ingredients and started making the soup. After a few minutes of cooking he got bored and started playing music. He was humming and dancing.

He felt great. Maybe Peter does like him after all. Maybe the fever made him finally admit it. Maybe everything could go as Harley's daydreams. There was also a part of himself that told him that Peter could be delusional and it's just because he's sick, but there was nothing wrong with daydreaming about Peter liking Harley. If Peter didn't like Harley that way, it's not gonna be that easy to get rid of that crush.

Harley was serving the soup in a bowl when he finally noticed that he was being watched. He turned around and there was Peter super close to his face

"What the fuck Peter?! You scared the hell out of me!" Peter passed his arms around Harley's neck causing him to blush

"Hey" It's everything Peter says. Just that with a smile. Harley literally got lost in his eyes

"H-Hi" Peter chuckled at Harley's response.

"Why so nervous Harley?" Peter asks getting closer to him

"Peter you're sick" Peter rolled his eyes. Harley right now is in one of the toughest situations he's ever been

"You always take care of me. Let me take care of you" Peter said smiling. Harley sighted and pushed Peter away

"Come on. You need some rest" Harley grabbed Peter by his wrist and dragged him to the couch. Harley couldn't help but to cuddle Peter in the couch

"You smell good" Peter added. Harley chuckled

"Let's watch a movie till you fall asleep" Then Harley proceeded to play star wars on the tv. He knows Peter good enough for him to know that Peter loves it. They spend like half of the movie there. Just cuddling while Harley is playing with Peter's hair and Peter is slowly falling asleep

"Harls?" Peter said with his sleepy voice "Thanks for taking care of me" Harley smiles

"Anytime spidey" Harley says watching him fall asleep

"I really like you Harley. You have no idea how much I like you" Then Peter finally closes his eyes and falls asleep in Harley's arms

"I really like you too Peter" Then Harley leaves a kiss on Peter's head and stays there watching Peter till he eventually falls asleep too

"Hey boys" Harley finally opened his eyes. Tony and all the Avengers were around him. He turned down and sawPeter who was also waking up "I see you guys were ok without us"

"I feel like someone stabbed me multiple times in every inch of my body" Peter admitted. Harley couldn't help but laugh at the comment

"You're sick Peter. FRIDAY informed me in the middle of the mission. I would've come but the timing was really bad" Tony said and Peter and Harley looked at each other

"When did we even get here? I was at school and then I wake up here" Harley's smile dropped. You gotta be kidding me

"You don't remember when you came from patrol?" Harley asked

"Not really. I just remember that I felt horrible" Peter said hesitant. Harley could see how some of the Avengers wanted to start laughing. He just faked a smile

"Really? What a shame!" Harley said in the most passive aggressive way possible. Obviously Peter didn't even notice

"Yeah well. I'm gessing that you took care of him by the soup in the kitchen" Tony asked. Harley just sighted

"He never ate it tho. You should do that Peter" Peter smiled and got up

"Thanks Harley" then he walked towards the kitchen leaving Harley alone in the couch.

"That is so fucked up" Clint finally said laughing. Tony and Harley glared at him

"Well. Guess that tells me that he really doesn't like me" Harley admitted. Before anyone could say anything he got up and went straight to his room.

How could he be so stupid? Peter liking Harley? Please. Harley could never be with someone like him. Peter was literally Spiderman, he was one of the most brilliant minds in the world, and he was also the best human being in the galaxy. Why would he want to be with Harley, the guy that only knows how to get in trouble? Peter only took him as a joke. Either way it's just a crush. Harley will get over it just like all his past crushes. He just has to distance himself from Peter. Before it's too late. Before it starts hurting

The next past week Harley tries to not be around Peter. When Peter gets better then he starts to notice it. Harley is avoiding him. Everytime Peter talked to him he gave short answers or just avoided the question, everytime Peter goes in the lab, Harley makes an excuse to get out of it, everytime Peter texted him or called him, Harley didn't answer. Basically all the stuff you do when you start avoiding someone. Obviously Peter started overthinking it. Did he say something to Harley? Maybe he hurt his feelings, maybe he was rude to him, either way Peter couldn't remember no matter how hard he tried. He thought nothing bad happened because Harley even took care of him and they ended up cuddling in the couch (what a dream) but maybe it was an accident? He had no idea. He just knows that Harley is mad at him so he's gonna do what he does best: apologize.

He knew exactly at what time Harley would be in the lab alone, so he did his thing. He opened the window and got into the lab. Harley was there with his earbuds on. He took his mask off and immediately handed Harley an envelope. Harley raised an eyebrow

"What is this?" Harley asked confused

"Just open it" Peter said firmly. Harley hesitated and opened it. It was a card that said 'I messed up big time (I'm sorry)' Harley couldn't help but chuckle at it. He opened the card and read it

'I'm sorry for what I said...Let's eat our weight in tacos and make it up'

Harley then raised an eyebrow and looked at Peter

"What is this for?" Harley asked. It was a progress. They were having a conversation.

"I noticed that you are avoiding me and I guess it's because of something I did or said when I was sick. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings" Harley rolled his eyes

"You didn't have to buy me a card" Peter sighted at Harley's answer

"But I did. I'm gonna be honest with you. I like you a lot Harls" Harley's eyes widened as he dropped the card. Peter then realized that it was a bad idea. Harley obviously doesn't like him "Y-You don't have to, like, say it back. I-I get that you don't like me. I just really wish we could stay as friends, you know? I get if you don't want that either. The point is that I am sorry I hurt you" After that Harley just stared at Peter. Peter was waiting for an answer while Harley just wondered why did he like that idiot.

"I like you too Peter" Was everything that came out of Harley's mouth. Peter immediately smiled

"Really?" Harley chuckled at Peter's answer

"Yeah. I just thought you didn't like me. That's why I was avoiding you" Peter sighted in relief

"That's good. I thought you were mad at me or something" Harley shook his head. A short silence followed that "We should go out sometime" Peter finally said. Harley smiled

"I would really like that" Peter then cleared his throat and looked down

"I was going to the movies tomorrow with Ned but he got sick. Do you want to go with me instead?" Harley wanted to start screaming. This was actually happening! But Harley saved that for later. Instead he just smiled and nodded

"Text me the time and place. I'll be there. It's a date" Peter then nodded.

And that is how it all started.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: New World Order (1x01)

Watching this show is going to be strange for me because I genuinely ship Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson with one Steve Rogers... so basically I just want to watch them sitting around being sad about him being dead the whole time. But I'm open to the possibilities, here, I really am...

Cons:

Positioning the bad guys here as... well, as communists who want a world without borders, and then making them into terrorists... let's just say I'm side-eying this pretty hard. You have that twist at the end, where the United States brings forth a new symbolic hero, a new Captain America, and my brain immediately started spinning forward as to where this is going to go. See, we've got anarchist baddies who want to destroy all the flags on one side, then we've got this pretender to the throne on the other side. But the issue won't be that there's something inherently flawed with the whole concept of a militarized heroic folk legend for Americans to idealize... it'll be about how it's the wrong man carrying the shield. At some point, in a moment of triumph, Sam will take the mantle on for himself, and then we can safely and comfortably cheer as our hero takes down the big bad commies who don't love 'Murica enough. I want to be wrong. I want them to mix things up, to challenge things, but all I can see is that the ultimate heroic conclusion is going to be "government control of Captain America is Bad, but Captain America himself, and what he stands for, specifically America, is good."

While I know this episode needed to set up a lot of puzzle pieces, I did think there were moments of somewhat clumsy exposition with both Bucky and Sam's story-lines. We've got Sam who's worried about his sister and her kids losing the family home and boat, and going to get a loan. There were some good moments in here, but it was a bit paint-by-numbers, and some of the dialogue fell into that "as you know..." trap where characters were having a conversation, then needed to stop and tell us it's a conversation they've already had a million times before. They're having the talk for our benefit as the audience only. That's a tough needle to thread, and they didn't quite thread it. The same thing happens during Bucky's therapy appointment. First off, the whole waking up out of a dream thing, cut to a therapist talking about nightmares... another cliché. And then we have the therapist walking him through the three steps, and restating them for the benefit of the audience, even though in the ordinary course they wouldn't lay it all out like that again, since Bucky would already know. It's a small thing, I'm nitpicking, but there were some rough aspects to the start of the show.

Pros:

First off, let's just acknowledge that the show looks great. That whole opening action scene with Sam rescuing the guy, flying around, helicopters blowing up, the base jumping tech... damn. It felt like I could be watching an action sequence on the big screen, in any standard MCU movie. Maybe not the climactic fight, but one of the shorter, introductory ones for sure. And that's what this was, wasn't it? A strong, exciting, high-energy start to the show.

I really love Sam Wilson, y'all. There's something so incredibly powerful about watching a show like this with a black man in the leading role. He's such a good person, he's charming and funny and bad-ass but compassionate. He's a little cocky but nowhere approaching an asshole about his power and fame. He's stubborn but that just shows that he really cares. The movies don't have a ton of screen-time with Sam, if we're being honest, but I already really liked him, and here I'm seeing the chance to flesh out the details and let Anthony Mackie do his thing on the silver screen. It's all really working for me so far.

I like the side characters we're folding in here - his sister seems like an interesting character with a lot to offer, and I love that Sam has these nephews in his life to care for, something to anchor him to the world in a way that Bucky, who I'll talk about in a second, kind of doesn't. It provides a nice contrast between them. I also really liked Torres, the man who helps teach Sam about the Flag Smashers (ugh, that name) and seems like a solid dude who wants to make a positive difference in the world. I hope we see more of him too.

(Also, while I'm sure Rhodey was just a brief appearance in this first episode, it was so good to see him too! I'll miss him in the MCU, if he doesn't keep popping up.)

The last thing I'll mention on Sam's side of the story is that bank loan scene. It was such a punch in the gut to see Sam denied the loan, and one of the reasons being "you don't have any income for the past five years." Well... Sam didn't exist. He got Thanos snapped. This feels so realistic to me, that the system would not pivot to adapt to the new situation, but instead leave more and more people out in the cold. Then you have the bank employee trying to get selfies with the Falcon, all excited to meet an Avenger, all while denying him and his family the money they needed to make ends meet. It was such a devastating scene, and you could see so much hope draining out of Sam's eyes. I'm anxious to see where this goes.

And then you've got Bucky Barnes... let me just say, that despite the fact that he's a super assassin, whenever I see Bucky on the screen I just want to wrap him in a blanket and protect him from all harm. When I saw how Sebastian Stan was debuting on the show, in a flashback to his Winter Solider evil days, I literally said out loud, "oh no, poor Bucky" as if I wasn't watching him murder a bunch of people in cold blood. I have such an intense desire for him to be okay, so seeing him not being okay, but trying in these small ways to atone for his past actions, makes me so proud of him already.

Despite my undying belief that Bucky Barnes is deeply in love with Steve Rogers and that nobody will ever take Steve's place in his heart... I thought the date scene was actually very cute. The flowers, the board game, just chilling in the restaurant... I don't know. I hope that woman is in the show moving forward. I want Bucky to be happy. I want him to make new friends, forge connections in the world. I also really liked the stuff with Yuri, and when the reveal happened about Bucky having killed his son, it was a severe punch to the gut. Maybe I was supposed to have guessed it before the show told me, but I didn't, and when I realized why Bucky had befriended this old grumpy man... oh god. It's all too tragic.

On the one hand, it makes me a little nervous that there are only six episodes in this season, and in the first one we didn't even see Sam and Bucky interact. On the other hand, it's a pretty smart move to keep us waiting, at least a little, for the duo to emerge and develop a rapport. I can't wait for the fun banter, as I think Sam and Bucky are both funny, snarky people albeit with different attitudes and ways of expressing said snark. And I also can't wait for some more serious content between them, as they ruminate on all they've lost in the wars they've fought, on how hard it is to be suddenly missing five years of your life... and on Steve Rogers, a great friend (*ahem* boyfriend *ahem*) that they've both recently lost.

They're also holding back on Sam taking up the mantle of Captain America. I wonder if that will be a point of contention between Bucky and Sam. Bucky was there, Bucky gave his blessing, honestly, when Steve handed over the shield, and it was the only thing about Steve's ending in Endgame that didn't make me insanely furious. I want this to be a point of conflict with them, I want them to argue about the best way to honor Steve. So much juicy material here! And I'm intrigued by this "new Captain America" concept, even though I'm wary about where they're taking it, in terms of theme... we shall have to see!

All in all, this was very standard Marvel fare. I like the characters, the action is creative and enjoyable to watch, there are some emotional gut-punches and some funny lines here and there. Nothing mind-blowing, nothing so innovative and fresh and new, but just more of the same... a same that I've come to really love over the past decade or so.

Natasha Romanoff x Reader

Natasha had always tried to keep you safe. You weren't an avenger or an agent. You were just a normal civilian who had managed to capture her heart. You knew about her past but it didn't scare you away. She knew she would do anything to keep you safe but it hadn't been enough. You had been captured by someone wanting revenge on her.

A/N- So this obviously isn't supergirl but hopefully y'all still enjoy it.

P.S- I broke my heart and may have cried when writing this.

It had started out like every other day. You woke up in bed with your fiancee Natasha. She had her arms wrapped around your waist holding you as close to her as possible. You smiled as she placed a kiss on your forehead.

"Good morning beautiful." She said. You giggled softly and buried your face in her neck as you blushed.

"Good morning." You mumbled. You wanted to stay in bed with her instead of getting ready for work but sadly that just wasn't an option. As you began to get to try and get out of Natashas arms she just held onto you tighter. You laughed softly.

"Nat, baby I need to get ready for work."

"How about you stay home today. We can cuddle, order takeout, and watch whatever movie you want to." You frowned as you looked up at Nat. You could tell something was wrong. You heard the slight tremor in her voice that she had tried to hide.

"Is everything okay?" You received no response from her to your question. "Nat. Whats going on?"

"I just have a bad feeling. It's probably nothing but I would rather you stay home with me just in case." You sighed as you placed a kiss on her cheek. You slowly began to remove her arms from around you.

"I need to go into work today babe. I can't call out last second. I'll be careful though ok. You can even drop me off, bring me lunch, and pick me up if that makes you feel better." You told her as you began to get out of bed. Natasha knew that she wasn't going to win She knew that you wouldn't call out of work but the feeling in her gut was only getting worse. She had a feeling that something bad was going to happen and she just couldn't lose you. You kept her sane. She didn't know what she would do without you. She sighed and got out of bed, getting ready with you. She was definitely going to be dropping you off and picking you up.

"Alright, but I want you to text me every hour alright. Just so I know that you are safe and to help ease my mind." Nat told you. You nodded as you gave her a soft chaste kiss.

"Okay. I will text you every hour if that will help you feel better." The both of you finished getting ready and she dropped you off at work. On the way home the feeling in her gut just got worse. She felt like she was going to throw up. She had only been home for a couple hours when the feeling became so bad she became sick. She needed to be with you right now to keep you safe and protect you. She grabbed her phone and quickly pulled up your contact and calling you. You didn't answer. It was almost time for you to check in with her. She tried to calm herself down enough to wait for your text came in saying that you were okay. It never came. The feeling in her stomach got worse. She grabbed the keys to her motorcycle before taking off. She was driving way above the speed limit and weaving in and out of traffic. She needed to get to you now. She needed to see you with her own eyes to make sure you were unharmed. She managed to cut a 45 minute drive into 15 minutes with her frantic and reckless driving. Just as she got off her motorcycle and getting ready to run up to your floor she received a text from you. It was a picture. She opened it quickly and her stomach dropped at what she saw. You were tied to a chair and you barely even looked alive. It was clear that one of your legs were broke. You were bleeding from your head from a wound she was unable to see. You had a black eye, busted lip, and cuts every where. A text came in quickly after the picture.

You should've never meddled in our business Black Widow. Now your loved one is the one paying the price.

She felt anger and fear began to flood her system. She needed to find you and she needed to find you now She couldn't think about what would happen if she wasn't able to. She quickly took off for the tower. She needed everyone's help. She couldn't do this by herself and risk you ending up being harmed even more than you already were.

Meanwhile you were just hoping you would be able to see Natasha one more time before you died. You knew you weren't going to make it out of this alive. Your body had been put through too much. You had water dumped on you before being electrocuted, they carved into your skin with whatever sharp objects they had, they had broken your right leg and you were sure other bones of yours were broken. You could also feel blood dripping down your face from the wound in your head from having them slam you into a wall. You had no idea how much time had passed at this point. It could have been minutes, hours, weeks, hell it might have even been months. You were being given a brief break from the torture at the moment as the men began to talk to each other in what you believe was Russian. You weren't completely sure though. Soon their talk came to an end and they turned back to you with twisted smirks on their face. You knew that the torture was about to begin again and you tried not to let the fear show on your face. Before they were able to do anything though the door busted open. You could make out some of the Avengers and your fiancee. A small smile appeared on your face. They had found you and you would be able to see Natasha one more time before you left earth. The men were no competition for Tony, Wanda, Steve, and Natasha. The fight was over before it really began and then Natasha was running over to you with tears in her eyes. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. There was so much blood that she couldn't even figure out where it was all coming from. She quickly untied you and picked you up as gently as she could. It still caused you to scream out in pain and the tears began to fall down Natashas face.

"I'm so sorry baby. I'm so sorry. Just hold on okay. You are going to be ok and then I'm never letting you leave my sight again ok." You could hear the panic and pain in her voice. She was trying to convince herself as well as you.

"Nat. I lo..love yo...you." Your voice came out hoarse and you began coughing causing the pain to worsen. You could taste something metallic in your mouth and you knew that it was blood.

"Please (Y/N). Please. I need you. Please I can't lose you. You are everything to me. You are my world." She got out through her sobs. It was breaking your heart to see her in so much pain. You could see the others looking at you with tears in their eyes. They knew that there was nothing they could do to help you.

"Na...Nat. Bab....Baby. I'm not," You were interrupted by another coughing fit causing blood to flow out of your mouth.

"Please, please, please." Was all that Natasha managed to say. She could see the light in your eyes beginning to fade. You used the last bit of energy to lean up and press a kiss to her lips.

"I love you Nat. Alw..always. Do...dont blame your...yourself. Never forget I'm always wi...wi...with you." was the last thing you managed to get out before the light faded from your eyes completely and your heartbeat stopped.

"NO! NO! (Y/N)! PLEASE PLEASE. YOU CANT LEAVE ME! PLEASE!" Natasha screamed. She fell to her knees holding your body in her arms. She would never forgive herself. She should have tried harder to get you to stay home with her. She should have protected you better. She would never recover from the scars that your death left on her heart. After that day she became even more closed off. She refused to talk to anyone. No one was allowed to even mention your name. It caused her to snap. They learned that the hard way when an Agent had made a comment about how tragic your death was but that it was your fault for getting involved with an Avenger. She put the Agent in the hospital and he would no longer be able to work in the field from the injuries he had sustained. She told everyone that if they ever mentioned your name again she would kill them. She refused to work on missions with anyone. Fury had wanted to dismiss her but decided that he wouldn't want to make an enemy out of her. She was deadlier than before and he wasn't sure if anyone, including the Avengers, would be able to take her down. So he sent her on missions that were for a single individual. She completed every single one perfectly. Afterwards though she would go back to the house the two of you shared and would just sit in the dark thinking about all the ways she had failed you.

Movies and TV shows of 2019

Okay so a couple or few years ago I did a review of movies that had released that year because I was super into movies that year. I am still into movies, but I have been watching a lot more shows this year. So, I will be reviewing movies and tv shows. Furthermore, I will be including stuff released this year, that I found this year, or that has a new season this year. Basically just anything that I have loved this year. Also, I don’t feel like ranking, so no particular order. Also, SPOILERS AHEAD - if you see a title of something you have not seen, and don’t want spoilers, please feel free to skip that section. Also, some of these I haven’t seen in a hot minute so if I get a detail messed up, we won’t speak on it. And finally, trigger warning - if you have struggled with sexual assault and may have an issue reading about it, either skip this post entirely or skip over the review of “Unbelievable.”

MOVIES -

1. After

I have been waiting for this since middle school. I read the after books on wattpad because what teenager in love with harry styles didn’t. Now I will be real with y'all. The acting could use some work in specific scenes, and some of the actors aren't MY favorite picks for certain roles, but I’m not gonna hate on actors. Ok so, Tessa (Josephine Langford) is an incoming freshman in college and is rooming with an upperclassmen, Steph (Khadijha Red Thunder) who has a friend named Hardin (Hero Fiennes-Tiffin). Steph wants Tessa to branch out and do new things, so she invites her to a party, where they play the stereotypical games, and thats when Hardin is kind of dared to make Tessa fall in love with him. ALSO, Tessa has a high school boyfriend named Noah (Dylan Arnold). She starts seeing Hardin, her boyfriend finds out, she falls in love with Hardin, and finds out it was all a dare. Buuuuuuut, pLoT tWiSt he actually loves her.

2. Avengers: Endgame

Ok listen, Infinity War was heartbreaking bc Bucky duh, but y'all are really gonna take Tony (RDJ) and Steve (Chris Evans) away from me? Shut up. Still, this was a really good movie and I’m not just saying that because I’m a marvel hoe. FRICK Thanos and thats on Ant Man. Thats literally all I have to say.

3. Annabelle Comes Home

I am a whore for scary movies. I love them so much and this one was *chefs kiss*. I love Mckenna Grace, she's such a good young actress and she fits so well in scary moves. There’s not much to say about the plot in this one, and ya really need to see it. Also, Bob (Michael Cimino) is so heckin cute what the heck.

4. Let It Snow

Ok this is a lot to unpack so grab ya snacks. Let’s talk about couple number 1 (of 3), Tobin (Mitchell Hope) and Angie (Kiernan Shipka) who are best friends. Tobin is in love with Angie but doesn’t know how to tell her, and gets lots of unwanted encouragement from his best friend Keon (Jacob Batalon) who just wants to throw a heckin good party, is that too much to ask for? So Angie gets invited to a party by some cute guy, JP (M and Tobin is jealous but goes with her anyways and they steal a keg for Keon’s party and run from the scary hosts of the party and end up stranded in a church after his car spins out of control. They finally make it to the party and kiss on the roof with the waffle town sign shining bright behind them. NEXT - we have Julie (Isabela Merced) and Stuart (Shameik Moore). This is kind of really cliche with the whole “he’s-famous-she-doesn’t-care-he-finds-that-attractive-lets-fall-in-love” aspect, but its also hella cute uwu. They meet on a train and the train stops so they go eat at the waffle town and go sledding and do a bunch of cute coupley shit. His manager comes to get him and basically tells her that nothing will ever really happen between them and he leaves. Then, he shows up at the party and they fall in love. NEXT- we have Dorrie (Liv Hewson) who is a lesbian that constantly struggles with the gay panic. Her best friend Addie (Odeya Rush) doesn't help much either because she's having her own relationship problems. Dorrie works at Waffle Town and when she's working the girl she's talking to, Kerry (Anna Akana) comes in with her dance team, and she's not out of the closet. A bunch of shit goes down, but they end up together and Dorrie learns that she’s worth more than she thinks and that’s all that matters. Also, Billy (Miles Robbins) and Tin Foil Woman (Joan Cusack) make wonderful additions to this movie.

5. The King

First of all - Timothée Chalamet and Robert Pattinson in the same movie? Sign me the HECK up. But they’re also historical, frick yea. Not too much to say about this movie other than it’s good. Super graphic (don’t watch if you don’t like decapitation lol) and super long, but good nonetheless.

6. Falling Inn Love

This movie is super freaking cute. Gabriela (Christina Milian) decides that she needs a change and enters a contest to win an Inn in New Zealand. She wins the Inn and is shocked when she realizes the Inn needs a LOT of work. She goes around town to get stuff to fix up the Inn and constantly runs into Jake (Adam Demos) and they have this flirty but we don’t like each other relationship, but then ya know, they fall in(n) love. 

SHOWS -

1. The Society

I could talk about this show for hours, literally. I love it so much it’s insane. Ok, so lets start from the beginning. A town called West Ham is being plagued by a disgusting smell. Due to this, the town decides to send busloads of teenagers to the mountains while they try and resolve the smell situation. All of the teenagers fall asleep on the bus and wake up to the announcement that they had to go back home due to road blocks. When they get off the buses, its late and no one is there to pick them up. They think that it may just be a sense of miscommunication, so they head home, only to find that none of their families are there, and they can’t get ahold of any of them over the phone. They finally decide to investigate and find that all exits out of town are completely blocked off. They then decide to find a way to survive without their families. This causes a lot of tension within the town including the death of a main character. This shows also includes gay representation!!!! This is my favorite couple, Sam (Sean Birdy) and Grizz (Jack Mulhern). Sam is deaf and gay and his brother, Campbell (Toby Wallace), makes fun of him for both reasons, and when the whole issue with the town happens, he believes he will never find love because he doesn’t think anyone else is gay, until Grizz comes along, and tries to learn ASL and loves him for him.

2. Roswell New Mexico

Alright, to be completely honest, I did not want to watch this. I have no idea why I just didn’t. I saw an edit on like instagram or something of the couples in the show and I was like, alright I can give it a chance. And spoiler alert I loved it. The series starts off with Liz Ortecho (Jeanine Mason) comes back to her hometown of Roswell around the time of her the anniversary of her sister, Rosa’s (Amber Midthunder), death. She gets pulled over on her way in and the officer that pulled her over was Max Evans (Nathan Parsons), who has had a crush on her since they first met, and just so happens to be an alien. After Liz gets shot in her families restaurant, Max uses his healing powers to save her, but leaves behind a hand print on her that makes her suspicious. She continues to investigate until he tells her the truth. She also finds out that her sister was actually murdered, and has the same hand print on her that she did when Max healed her. Turns out, his sister, Isobel (Lily Cowels) killed her, but it was actually another alien possessing her (which they didn’t know was possible when she killed her). When they landed on earth they also landed with their “brother” Michael (Michael Vlamis) who starts off the series with an on and off relationship with Alex (Tyler Blackburn) and I love them together. Alex is the son of one of the guys trying to find and take down the aliens and he also went to war and lost his leg. Anyways, towards the end of the season Alex starts seeing Maria (Heather Hemmens), which is a couple I don’t really like, but also bi representation is good! Anyways I don’t really wanna spoil this one too much I just love it a lot.

3. Elite

This is a show that came out in 2018, but they released a second season this year. All I’m saying is please watch the original version, not the dubbed over version. Elite is a spanish show about a few students that get a scholarship to the private school after their school gets demolished. This shows is in the fashion of present and past which includes a lot of flashbacks leading up to the the murder of one of the students. My favorite part of this show is the relationship between Ander (Arón Piper) and Omar (Omar Ayuso). Ander is the son of the head of the school and Omar is the brother of one of the students that got a scholarship. Not only are they of different socioeconomic status’, but Omar is also Muslim, and his family would not approve of him being gay. He finally finds the courage to tell his family, but thats not until season 2. Also, his sister Nadia (Mina El Hammani) falls in love with the “bad boy” of the school, Guzmán (Miguel Bernardeau) and starts going against her parents wishes as well.

4. The Umbrella Academy 

Y’all mind if I confuse y'all real quick. So, a bunch of women all of the sudden give birth out of nowhere at the same time even tho none of them were pregnant? Yea I know weird. Anyways, so this dude tries to adopt as many of them as possible and ends up adopting like 7. They all have powers and they try and stop the apocalypse. That’s literally all I can tell y'all. 

5. Unbelievable

I swear I didn’t mean to get y’all upset right now. This show made me angry and sad and so many other feelings all at once. So the show beings with a girl named Marie (Kaitlyn Dever) getting raped in her home. When she reports it, they can’t find any evidence, as he cleaned the apartment and made her shower. This mixed with the fact that she struggles remembering parts of her experience (which is common with sexual assault), the police don’t believe her and force her to retract her statement. This in itself is awful, but they also charge her with false statement, which adds on to the fact that people already believe that she is a liar. Years later, two female detectives, Karen and Grace, piece together rapes in their precincts and once they find the rapist, they find Marie’s picture in with his belongings, proving that she was telling the truth the entire time.

Pairing: Avengers x reader, (Later on) Natasha Romanoff x reader

Warning: Endgame sadness, multi-verse-mind-blowing-shit, bad science, every Marvel fan's dream. 

Summary: The reader is a senior in a local high school, watching Avengers: Endgame in cinemas when something absolutely mind-blowing happens.

A/N: This was just something I wrote up, I think it'd be so cool if anything like this ever happened. Hope y'all like it!

Part 2

You tried to suppress your sobs, tears streaming down your cheeks and falling onto your lap. Your hand was clapped over your mouth, eyes never leaving the big screen that currently rolled the end credits of Avengers: Endgame.

You couldn’t care less about people judging you as you had a breakdown seeing Tony Stark’s clips in the past movies. Robert Downy Jr’s signature appeared slowly and gracefully onto the screen, your sobs becoming more cracked and broken.

Your favorite heroes were gone, and it didn’t feel like “just fiction” to you. It felt like a part of your soul was ripped out, mourning for your fallen heroes as if they were real people.

You stayed longer than you should after the films went off, everyone had already left. Afraid that someone would come in to rush you out of the cinema, you stood up in the now empty screen 03. But as soon as your weight shifted onto your feet, everything went black in a millisecond. You were already out cold by the time you hit the ground.

“Are we sure we got the right person? She looks so delicate.”

You slowly started to regain consciousness but was still unable to open your eyes. They were as heavy as lead, and so were the rest of your body. You felt paralyzed, but you could hear faint voices that sounded a bit muffled for whatever reason.

“She should be the Y/N Fury was talking about.”

“This whole multiverse thing was a little too big of a step, what if she freaks out?”

“Okay yeah, but like, can you believe that there’s a world where we’re not real?”

“Unbelievable. Very... Unreal.”

“Very funny, Stark.”

Fury? Stark? You must be dreaming. What a nice dream, though... You haven’t dreamt such a realistic dream about fictional characters like this. 

"Y/N!" Your eyes shot up at the voice that could only be identified as Nick Fury's, suddenly attacked by the bright LED light. 

"Glad you could join us." 

You blinked a few times, eyes slowly adjusting to the room. Your eyes grew wider and wider as your gaze moved from all the techy stuff in the back, to the Avengers in their casual clothes, to Nicholas J Fucking Fury.

"No fucking way." Your hands gripped the cotton bedding, the slight scratch of the fabric on your skin ominously real. You had silk bedding you snatched from a feral girl during black Friday, nothing like this. It was like you were really feeling the material in real life. 

"Hello, Miss Y/N. And yes fucking way." Your eyes looked like they were about to pop out of its sockets as you backed up, Fury taking two steps closer to the bed. 

"You're scaring her." Steve Rogers... Or Chris Evans? The guy that looks like Captain America remarked, looking down and shrugging as if saying that he could do better. The gray V-neck shirt fitted him perfectly, reminding you of a photoshoot that Chris did, and that's when you had a bright idea. 

"You guys... It's not funny! Am I being filmed?" You figured that the cast was doing some PR for the movie, pranking a fan... haha. You glanced around the room, looking for a hidden camera. 

"She thinks she's being tricked." Wanda Maximoff- or Elizabeth Olsen, appeared from behind Natasha, her hands glowing with the scarlet energy, strands of her hair floating in the air. 

"This is awesome! How are you guys doing this?" You almost exclaimed, so excited to see this in real life. You'd always thought that this was CGI. 

"This isn't a joke, Miss-uh, Y/N. We, um... pulled you out of your universe?" Bruce spoke up from beside you, stopping his fumbling with the machines you were hooked up on. "You know that multi-verses exist. We're- real, Y/N." 

You couldn't form words at that, your mind unable to comprehend how this made sense. For all you know, this could still be a prank, and you could be dreaming.

"She's still skeptical." Wanda was now suddenly somehow beside you, the flowing ribbon of energy connecting with the side of your head now.

"You have been... chosen. Yes. Chosen. By the freaking universe, you get that?" Tony Stark, now took a step forward, patting down on the snow-white comforters as they made a deflating sound. He pointed at the ceiling, speaking as if it was the most spectacular thing in the world. 

"I don't understand-" You stuttered, beyond confused.

"We found the multi-verse after the snap. They brought me and Nat back from those separate worlds. And we kept on working, you know, on this multi-verse thing." Tony rambled, but you heard every word. This did not seem like the typical prank videos that you see on YouTube. 

"And then we found you." Tony's finger now pointed at you, creating goosebumps on your arms. Like something had just happened, you just didn't know what it was.

"You see, Miss Y/L/N, you were disrupting the order of the multi-verse. You weren't meant to be born there. You're the only person in the whole multi-verse to be born into the wrong world." Fury leaned on the edge of the bed, looking into your irises with a stern look on his face. 

"This is your real home, but if you want to go back, we understand," Natasha said calmly, smiling at you understandingly. "We are asking you to throw away your whole life, everything you've ever known... to come here." 

"You guys are all I've ever known. Yes." You soon found yourself agreeing. All you were ever going to do in your life before was go to college and get a job. Your life was dull and high school was crap. It made sense. Oddly, everything kind of made sense.

Mother's Day

Hey hey!

Here's a oneshot about, you've guessed it, Pepper's first Mother's Day.

I've got so many ideas for a story, mostly from Pepper's point of view, from when Tony goes missing right through the 5 years. Right now I'm thinking a multichapter and accompanying oneshots. Let me know if that's something you guys would be interested in!

Right now my laptop is broken so for now I'll continue to type these snapshots on my phone and share with you all as I can!

Pepper had been ignoring Mother's Day for years. Her relationship with her own mother had never been easy, and when she died when Pepper was 19 she no longer worried about buying a card full of niceites that Anita Potts had never embodied.

As awful as it sounded, it had always made it easier that Tony didn't have his mother either. It meant that Mother's Day was something that just passed them both by. Until now.

Like with everything he did Tony had gone totally overboard.

She woke up to the smell of bacon. She wiped the sleep from her eyes and opened them to be met with the sight of her husband, stood at their bedroom door holding a tray in his hands and grinning like a madman.

Her eyes flitted around the room and she saw vases of red roses on just about every surface possible. She turned her eyes back to him with an incredulous look on her face.

"Happy Mother's Day!" He exclaimed excitedly as he moved towards the bed. She laughed as she sat up and leant against the headboard.

"I don't think it counts if the baby is still inside me, Tony." She quipped as she ran her hands over her baby bump.

"Of course it does. She'll be here next month so asked that I did all this on her behalf."

"Oh the baby asked you to do this?" She smiled fondly at him as he climbed on the bed next to her and pressed a kiss to her cheek.

"We have very in depth discussions when you fall asleep at night."

He passed her the tray and she looked down at the breakfast he'd made. His cooking skills had definitely come a long way during the years since he tried to make her an omelette on their jet.

"Well thank you, it's very sweet." She leant in and kissed him on the lips, runnibg the hand that wasn't balancing the tray on her lap down the back of his neck.

"Wait until you see what I've got planned for the rest of the day!"

"Tony, I'm 8 months pregnant. I really just want to lie down all day." She said as she lifted a forkfull of bacon to her mouth.

"I thought you'd say that, so I've had Friday download all your favourite movies and TV box sets so we can just sit around and relax all day. I may even throw in a back rub." He explained, raising his eyebrows in a suggestive manner at her as he finished.

As ridiculous as it was, Pepper felt tears suddenly flood her eyes at how thoughtful he was being. He'd been wonderful since she told him she was pregnant back in his hospital room at the Avenger's compound and every day she was grateful he was here. The prospect of doing all of this without him had been far too real in the time he'd been missing in space.

She'd been at the OBGYN when the decimation happened. She'd already taken a home pregnancy test so was there to have it confirmed by her doctor. She watched as the women in the waiting room around her started to disappear. She had pretty much ran home, relived to find Happy was still where she'd left him only an hour before.

Rhodey called a few hours later and explained the remaining Avengers were on their way to the compound. She decided to meet them there, hoping Tony would somehow find his way there too.

He did. But it took the longest 22 days of Pepper's life for it to happen. Those lonely nights laying in their room at the compound were etched into her memory. When she would lay with her hand on her still flat stomach and make promises to her baby that Daddy would come home.

"Come on Pep, please don't cry." Tony's soft words and his touch to her face to wipe away her tears brought her back to the present.

"Sorry. Hormones." She explained weakly. She knew he could tell she was lying, but she was thankful he didn't push it. "I love you." She added, lifting her free hand to his face again.

"I love you, too." He kissed her, he then leant down and pressed a kiss to her bump. "Now, eat your breakfast Mrs Stark so we can start our movie marathon."

They sat quietly for a bit whilst she ate and he stole small bits of food from her plate.

"I can't believe she'll be here so soon." Tony said as she finished eating. "I wonder which one of us she'll be most like." He pondered as he ran his hand over Pepper's stomach. She smiled at him and put her hand over his.

"Oh she'll be all you. Brown eyes, mischief and a smile I'll never be able to say no to."

"You say no to me all the time!"

"And yet you still always do whatever I've said no to anyway." She quipped back at him, smiling at their easy banter. "Now go set up the tv I'll be down in a minute."

"Yes, Mrs Stark." He replied as he saluted her, causing a laugh to escape her mouth. He removed the tray from her lap and pressed another quick peck to her lips before he left the room.

Pepper groaned as she moved out of bed, running her hands down her bump as she felt her little girl kick up a storm at the movement.

"I know, baby. Daddy is ridiculous." She walked into the ensuite as she continued to talk to her unborn daughter. "We wouldn't want him any other way though."

Horse Girl: What happened to white Darren?!

So, I had someone else pick the movie. Whenever others are involved, you gotta have them pick, so that if it's bad, you can blame them. That's how we come to "Horse Girl"!

I went into it cold. All I knew was that Alison Brie is in it, and I'm here for all things Alison Brie. 

With a name like "Horse Girl", I thought there was a slim chance that it might end up being a superhero flick. Alison is finally getting her own solo comic book hero franchise. Perhaps she'll have powers similar to Aquaman, but instead of sea creatures, she talks to horses.

I thought that perhaps she'd have the power to turn into a horse; kinda like that movie "Tusk". Have any of y'all ever watched "Tusk"? 

Yeah, don't watch that movie; it's awful. 

In retrospect, I still don't know why this movie is called "Horse Girl". There is a horse in the movie, but... idk. Plus, shouldn't it really be "Horse Woman"? I do believe that Alison Brie is around my age. But, maybe it's a PR move. Spider-Man, in many adaptations, is really a teenager, but referring to himself as a man. Which is good, cuz I don't want to be rescued by a "Spider-Boy"; having a teenage boy flick things out of his body in order to save me? - I can't get behind that.

"Horse Girl", I can work with, cuz I'm thinking she's fresh to the hero game, unjaded, and has a real future in front of her... maybe one that involves a better code name. 

(Look how happy she is... a real go-getter. I question her horse selection though, but she’ll learn. That horse has def been into the stuff.”

"Horse Woman" has already made her bad choices. She's used up. Frankly, I don't have a whole lot of confidence in her.

The beginning of this movie is very girlie. Do I mean that in a bad way? - not necessarily; it's just a fact. Kinda like, um... "Jane the Virgin". 

Nothing wrong with that show (I guess... I’ve never seen it), but I can't imagine a group of men getting together to watch it.  "Yo, y'all ready to watch a lil Jane the V?! Maybe she gonna pop that cherry tonight, man! She might just pop it! Yeah!"

Is that what the show is about? Her trying desperately each week for love or lust, and neither ever coming her way? What a sad show. But, I hear it's good, just girlie.

Meanwhile, I'm enduring the girliness of Alison Brie's fabric store, zumba sessions, bracelet making time, crying in the shower time, and upbeat convos with girl friends. I'm thinking to myself "When is she going to have her superhero origin moment?" Where's the vat of toxic waste that she falls into? 

Have a radioactive horse gnaw on her! Where's the villain?! Where's the fight?! Let's go!

She does have a bitchy roommate and her tool of a boyfriend. Apparently, her roommate thinks that Alison's life style is pathetic: working at a fabric store and home to watch her favorite supernatural cop show (every day). Every now and then, she pesters some horse, its caretakers, and some young girl who rides the horse (I know what you're thinking - “Maybe this young girl will end up being the legendary “HORSE GIRL". Nope. Again, I don't understand the choice of title for this movie). Her bitchy roommate's judgmental pestering does lead to a fling for Alison. A man by the name of "Darren".

He looks more like a "Dave" to me. Or a “Ken”.  I wish he had a different name; he probably wishes the same. White Darrens... just... no.

A nice guy, but he's one of those people who should really end their thoughts in convo a few paragraphs earlier. Socially, he’s like a quicksand of blah. A cake with “meh” icing - I blame his name, mostly for this.  And his dancing... goodness gracious! He dances like he’s being attacked by hornets.

Though Alison's dancing isn't anything to brag about either. She dances like she’s riding a bull.

But, you can't be a white Darren and dance like that; you've either got to get lessons or make a promise to humanity to never dance. Alison's beautiful. Pretty women can get away with being horrible dancers. In fact, I think it might make them more attractive. 

"You know, Alison, you're a 10. I didn't think I had a chance with you, until I saw you dance."

So far, I don't know what type of movie this is. Is it a romantic comedy? - not really, though it has funny moments in it. Superhero flick (I know that was a long shot)? Nope. 

It's too quirky to be a drama. 

Horror? There are some moments where Alison is sleep walking. I kept hoping that we'd get a scene where she's in the shadows holding an ax. Yes, Alison! Kill! Kill them! - but again, no.

The movie starts going in a mental illness direction. Alison Brie's character slowly starts to lose her mind. We learn that it's possibly something that runs in the family. Those of you who know me, know that I'm a big advocate for mental health care & mental illness awareness. I probably would have really connected with this movie on that level, if it was directed better. There's just too much artsy, wackiness smeared over this movie. I love the idea of this film and I love what the director was going for in many parts, but... idk.

There's a great cast here. Not only Alison Brie, but Molly Shannon... or do I have those two fist names backwards?  You know her... "Superstar".

Wait... that’ not right - that’s what popped up though. To my knowledge she has never played Jesus Christ in a musical.  Back in the day, she starred in a comedy from... wait a sec...

- you know what?? - it doesn’t matter. Maybe you don't know her anyway.  She's good in this; though it's a minor role. 

Aaaah, there she is.

Got my man Paul what's-his-face up in here! That’s my main man!

Who... um...  y’all probably don’t know either. To be honest, I barely know these people. What am I doing?

I’m trying to say that the acting talent is here! - regardless if you know peeps like Paul what’s-his-face or not. And the bitchy roommate and her annoying boyfriend really made me hate them, so that's points for their acting, I suppose.

This could have been a thoughtful drama about mental illness, with comedy sprinkled in, and making a point. The movie/Tv landscape needs more stuff like that (especially these days, with people losing it, during this pandemic).

It seems like the director was going more for "creative genius" acclaim. Unfortunately, he missed the mark, by a lot. Again, I saw what he (I'm assuming it's a he - I don't actually know) was going for, and there are some really creative parts here, but... the message is a bit muddy, and the pacing is rough at best (not unlike this post).

. You know what, I'm going to go ahead and say it's a man who directed this, because there's a nude scene from Alison Brie that doesn't really need to be there. The director is trying to show the mental collapse of this woman, and... you know... when people lose their minds, they tend to walk through their place of business naked. I'm sure that most male directors would have all main actresses have a similar scene, if they thought that they could get away with it. Picture "The Avengers" director -

"I really think that Scarjo needs to be nude in this scene.” 

“Maybe she's in the shower, when her team calls for help. She's so dedicated that she doesn't have time to put on clothes. It'll be a powerful scene. Trust me. Really zoom-in. Annnnd ACTION!"

That scene with Alison Brie is not terrible. Maybe I'm nitpicking.

It would have been a better use of Alison Brie's acting chops to have her walk in looking rough (maybe scantily clad... or in her underwear, if you must), but here could have been some of those artsy shots while she's walking around the store in a bit of a fugue state (if you do that butt-neked, it'll seem gratuitous). But, maybe have her say and do some things that have been building up through the movie, for an Oscar-Nudging climax, and emotional scene of her losing her grip on reality. But, far be it from me to be a backseat director. I'm just a rambling praphit. Just have her jiggle in, cry, and jiggle out. That's better.

Grade: an interesting D 

I'm glad that I watched it, because there are a lot of good ideas here, but... you know.

Of course, maybe she's not crazy after all. Things go super wacky towards the end. Something about aliens and clones. Oh, and she does technically get a superhero outfit.

Looking like a Power Ranger for some reason. 

There’s also a scene where she (as a Pink Power Ranger) gets it on with white Darren... like out of nowhere. But, did that even happen? Idk.

Was it all in her head? Was the reality of the sitch, that she broke into white Darren’s place, wrapped in pink fabric, and tried to dry-hump white Darren, while he was sleeping? Then, IN HER HEAD, he thinks that’s hot. She only THINKS that they got it on. In reality, he refused her crazy advances, and as a result, she kills him. She beheads him... with a spoon or something. The director is strange, so why not?? Or maybe she takes him (or his head) away as some alien sacrifice. It’s really weird, because after their “ sexy time” the movie just kinda moves on from him. It’s very awkward. 

What happened to white Darren?! What was real?! Who knows??

Things get crazier and crazier, until... I don't even know what happened. I guess they're leaving it up to the audience to decide whether or not it's all true or she’s crazy. It's hard to tell, sometimes, whether you've got a clever ending on your hands or a lazy director, who decides "Hey, let's do something really weird in the last scene

and then just... kinda... end."

-anyways so

-basically some creature

-launched you in the air and into the freezing snow and knocked you out

-peter couldn't find you and immediately got nervous

-he was able to track you down with stark's tech and dig you out of the snow where you were lowkey freezing to death ok

-he pulls you up into his arms and holds you tight and starts crying because he doesn't know if you'll make it

-he swings over to the cabin tony bought just for the mission

-because we all know tony is extra asf

-bruce checks you up to see if anything's broken

-it's not

-you most likely just have a concussion and knocked out for awhile

-peter carries you bridal style to the living room where the fire is blazing

-he sits on the couch with you in his lap

-you have layers of warm clothes on

-he strokes your hair and makes sure your head stays up comfortably

-he wanted to be there when you woke up duh

-and when you do wake up your really confused and have a headache

-but when you recognize peter you automatically feel safe :)

-and he's like crying again bc he's so glad you woke up but also mad at you for going crazy

-he'll squeeze your hand a lot and cup your cheek to make sure you're actually there

-and he'll say "you scared the crap out of me y/n. don't do that ever again. promise me?"

-you promise and just cuddle into his side

-he presses several kisses to your head

-and you him in response

-u two just hold each other so close

-babies!

Okay so it's been pretty accepted and even Tom Holland said that Tony Stark is the MCU Peter's Uncle Ben figure. Which I am all for. I love Tony and I love their relationship and how its developed both characters. I love it... HOWEVER it makes me wonder what happened with Peter's actual Uncle Ben.

We have reference to him, like the line in homecoming of everything that has happened to/with Aunt May (hinting at a loss/stressful time, especially since they just recently moved from the home we briefly see in Civil War to what we see in Homecoming), and Peter's suitcase in Far From Home having the initials of BFP, Benjamin Franklin Parker (also in pretty much every canon of Peter Parker, Aunt May is his aunt through her marriage to Ben). So I think we can assume that Uncle Ben did exist and did die or leave or disappear at some point.

But when Peter first is approached by Tony he has already been doing the Spider-Man thing for a bit. He has already been saving people. He even says a verision of the lesson that we learned from Uncle Ben but in Peter's words, he has this power now and if he doesn't use it to prevent bad things, then he is ultimately the reason those bad things happen. The power and responsibility. But Uncle Ben and his death is what teaches Peter this. Peter doesn't stop the criminal for a selfish reason which leds to Ben getting killed, thus Peter being indirectly resposnsible for his death. But...if Tony is Peter's Uncle Ben figure and the one who teaches him this lesson then... I just want to know what was the inciting event that made Peter Parker use his powers for good. Are we just suppose to except that Peter is inherently good and the first thing he thought when he got his powers was to help others? Because that's really never been it for Peter. Getting his powers as a 16 year old he almost always uses them immediately for personal gain (which we kinda see in Homecoming when he almost goes to Liz's party as Spider-Man to talk up Peter). What happened to Holland's Peter that made him start risking his life despite knowing the hurt he would cause Aunt May?

I guess you could argue that maybe he's been watching Tony on TV and in the news and kind of learned from him that way...i know they wanted to avoid doing what we've already seen but..it just makes me more interested in it. It's not like they would need a whole movie dedicated to it. Just a flashback (aka: please join my crusade to have Tobey Maguire cameo as Uncle Ben) or a mention or just have someone confirm something off screen. But what?? Like maybe Peter just has watched the Avengers and decided hes gonna fight bad guys? Thats fine i guess but it's not nearly as effective, realistic and heartbreaking as the uncle ben origin. Like maybe I'm just too much of a spider-man purist but... Uncle Ben is a HUGE part of Peter's story and while I dont mind Tony representing him in a way (I love tony so much) i don't want Tony to be him, or for him to be glossed over completely. He is the one who takes Peter in, he is the reason for him and Aunt May's deep connection, he is the reason that spider-man exists. He's his moral compass and a dark looming regret and reminder.

I just want Uncle Ben y'all.

"Only Her" - Thor Odinson Oneshot

INFINITY WAR SPOILERS

Request: Could you do a one shot with Thor where he’s talking to Rocket about what he has left to fight for (in infinity War) and he talks about (reader) and after the battle is over he’s panicking looking for her?

Summary: basically what's in the request^^ :)

Author's note: I alologise in advance if the scenes aren't entirely like in the movie! It's still in the cinema and i've only seen it twice so I can't exactly remember anything because I was too shooketh. I might remake this when the movie is out, though! Let me know what you guys want. ALSO I DIDN'T REMEMBER WHAT MANTIS SAID WITH BACON so i made up a name oops.

"So he killed your brother?" Rocket asked as he walked to Thor, referring to Thanos. The rest of the Guardians stood around them, watching as they spoke. Peter Quill in particular didn't look very amused to have Thor here.

"He did.. Thanos invaded our ship with a few of his people and killed my people. He got the infinity stone and killed my brother and my best friend.." Thor started. "But my brother's been dead a couple times. He's always found a way back, you know?" Thor looked up at the Guardians with a forced smile. "I just think this time he might be gone for good.." He looked down again and nodded to himself, his eyes tearing up slightly. When no one spoke, he continued; "I'm 1500 years old, and I've defeated double the enemies. Thanos is just one of those people, maybe a little bit stronger. I'm only alive because fate wants me to be. It wants me to defeat Thanos, and if I can't then I'll die trying."

"Yeah, you don't look like you've got anything left to worry about." Drax said, crossing his arms. Thor stayed silent for awhile. "I do.. I have one person left, and I need to do this for her. I want her to live on a safe planet.." He then said. "Is she from Earth?" Gamora asked, Thor nodded. "Yes, she is. I met her the first time I got there, she's an Avenger.. I work with her." He then said. "What is an Avenger?" Rocket asked. "They safe people on earth. They're earth's mightiest heroes." Thor answered. "Like Teddy Bacon?" Mantis asked with her soft sweet voice. Thor looked up at her in thought as he said "I don't know, he might be on the team. I haven't been there in awhile." He sighed as he continued; "I just can't let Thanos win. I can't afford letting him kill her, so we have to kill him first. She's the only one I can still lose." He said before walking off, to the Guardians' pod. "I could lose alot.. Me, personally, I could lose alot.." Rocket mumbled to himself before following Thor.

Thor watched in shock as he looked at what was happening. Thanos had snapped his fingers about two minutes ago, and Thor didn't fully realise what that'd mean until now. First, Bucky collapsed and vanished into ashes. To follow were Wanda, Sam, T'Challa.. Thor didn't even want to think about what was happening in the rest of the world right now. He didn't wanna think about how many of his friends would've died. Then Thor got a clear moment, and it hit him like a truck. He felt his breath hitch and his heartbeat speeding up. "Y/N.." he mumbled to himself.

"Y/N!" Thor yelled, running through the forest ontop of the small mountain where he'd just tried to kill Thanos. He had to find you. He had to know you were still alive. His sudden yelling made Steve look up, and he stood up. "Thor, don't," He started. "Those beasts might still be down there. It's not safe to go." Thor looked at him, his chest heaving up and down. "Then go with me." He said. "I have to know where she is, if she's still alive. Go with me." He almost begged. Steve seemed to have an error, he'd never thought he'd see Thor this vulnerable. What happend when Thor wasn't here? What happend to him that made him like this?

Steve and Thor ran down the mountain together, both calling for Y/N. On their way they passed Okoye, who was still in shock from what she'd just seen, Rocket who had the same, and Natasha who looked just as overwhelmed. "You guys haven't seen Y/N?" Nat asked. "No," Steve said. "We think she might still be down there somewhere." He looked at the battlefield, which had become alot smaller. The beasts looked like they were retreating. "She's not." Bruce said as he joined them, he came from down the mountain. "I was there, and I looked for you guys. I would've seen her if she was." Bruce looked over the group, trying to accept the loss of his many of his friends. "What do you mean? She has to be," Natasha said. "She has to be." Banner shook his head at her. "I-I'm sorry.. I could've missed her but-- but I had no idea what was going on."

Before Natasha could say anything, Thor shouted Y/N's name again. "Y/N!" He walked away from the group. "Y/N! Are you here?!" He kept shouting, his voice sounding stressed out. "Y/N!" He kept shouting as he rushed further down the mountain, zigzagging through the woods to make sure not to miss you.

He stopped yelling and looked at the trees infront of him a bit lost, his chest was heaving and his arms were loosely hanging from his side. Was this it? Had he lost the last thing he wanted to keep fighting for? "Thor.." Steve walked up from behind him. He looked devastated as well, which made sense. He'd just lost his very best friend. Thor didn't look at him, he couldn't. He was lost for words as well as for deeds. "I think it's over, I'm sorry. I think she's gone.." Steve continued as he frowned pitiful. Thor looked down at the ground and let his axe slip from his grip. It felt like the world was turning around him, and he had trouble keeping his tears in.

He closed his eyes as he heard Y/N call his name. It sounded muted, as if coming from afar. He was imagining, wasn't he? He looked up as he heard it again, and saw that he apperantly wasn't the only one who did. Steve looked around with his jaw dropped slightly. Thor looked up and listened for Y/N, to make sure his mind wasn't fooling him. "Thor!" Y/N's voice sounded closer, and Thor seemed to wake up. "Y/N!" He yelled as he started to move again, faster than before, eyes filled with hope.

And there she was, coming from behind a few trees. Thor didn't think about anything else and ran towords her, picking her up and holding her close to him. He put her down again and saw that tears were streaming down her face even though she was trying not to cry. Thor looked at her to see if she was wounded; apart from a few cuts and bruises she seemed to be fine. "I-I thought you were dead.." She said, her hands were shaking as she layed them on his arms. "There were people down there, and they vanished. Out of nowhere. I thought you were gone too.. Was it him? Did Thanos do it?" "Yes," Thor nodded. "Yes he did." He pulled Y/N closer to him again and placed a kiss on her forehead before embracing her gently. She hugged him back tightly. "But we're okay. And we will finish this fight together." He then said.

"I love you, Thor."

"I love you, Y/N."
