“How was Ned’s house? Did you have fun?” Ben asks while cooking. Peter hesitated before answering

“It was great! We watched a movie and his mom ordered Thai food” May looks at Peter with a raised eyebrow

“That’s great Pete” Then they had fun that night. Peter really enjoyed how his life worked. He spends time with Ben and May, the family that he was given, which he absolutely loved and enjoyed, and on the weekends he spends time with Pepper and Tony, the family that he chose, which he also loved. And boy does he know that both families love him. Yeah, his parents did die, but it wasn’t like he didn’t have parental figures in his life, and he still loved the few memories of them. His life was great.

Or at least it felt like it

“Stark!” That finally got him out of his own thoughts. Where was he? Oh right. Board meeting. Ugh “Oh I am so sorry. Are we boring you with this?!” The old guy said with a sarcastic tone that Tony didn’t like. Truth is that Tony was, in fact, extremely bored, and that he isn’t even sure about the guy’s name. Julian? Evan? Yeah Evan sounds right 

“Zoned out for a second. Keep going please” Tony clarified. All the people in the room looked disapproving of him. Not like Tony cares at all. Before Evan, or Julian, or whatever, started talking everyone heard a knock on the door, which was weird because nobody ever knocked on them during a board meeting. Let’s rephrase that. Nobody ever dared to knock on the door during a board meeting. The door slowly opened and a curly brown haired teenager with freckles stood there asking himself if this was a good idea. Tony wanted to laugh at him but he would never

“I’m sorry to interrupt but there’s an emergency in the lab and I need Mr Stark’s help” Tony immediately stood up and before anyone could start saying how he wasn’t allowed to go in the middle of a meeting, he was already out with Peter “So, how did it go?”

“I don’t know. I was playing with my phone the entire thing. I’m guessing there’s no emergency” Peter then laughed 

“You did ask me to get you out of board meetings. I’m still not sure why can’t do the same with the Avengers meetings anymore” Tony sighted 

“You can’t get me out of something if I refuse to go on the first place kid. What do you want to do?” Tony asked and Peter smirked calling the elevator 

“I have a couple ideas” Peter said smiling. Tony just raised an eyebrow in confusion

Pepper was having a good day. After Tony ghosted the board in the middle of the meeting, she took over and it was a good meeting. She finally closed a business deal and she’s gonna start another one in a few days. All she needed for her day to be perfect is to get to the penthouse, take off her heels and finish the book she was reading in peace with a good cup of coffee. Obviously she didn’t actually expect that because she knew that Peter was here today. 

When she got to the penthouse she could hear the music blasting from the kitchen and the smell of Thai food. It wasn’t a surprise when she saw Peter and Tony giggling 

“Hey boys” She greeted with a smile as she took off her heels. Then proceed to give Tony a kiss in the cheek “What are you guys up to?”

“We finished in the lab and we ordered food. Wanna stay for the movie tonight?” Tony asked with a smile

“Oh my god yes! Movie nights with you are the best Ms Potts!” Peter added which made her laugh 

“I don’t see why not. Does your aunt and uncle know that you’re staying here?” Peter shrugged 

“May knows. We just decided to tell uncle Ben that I was staying with Ned. He’s still not the biggest fan” Tony sighted before ruffling Peter’s curls 

“You’re not supposed to lie to him kiddo. At least May knows. Come on, finish your food already so we can start the movie night” Peter smiled and then they all started talking about their days, Spiderman, Pepper’s work, even some GenZ stuff that Tony doesn’t really get.

For them this became their thing since the internship became real. In May and Ben’s eyes it always was since the day Tony came to recruit him. Thank god neither of them found out about Spiderman because Ben would’ve chopped Tony’s head off. 

The next day after school, Happy drove Peter to his apartment in Queens. He loved his family more than anything

“I’m home!” It’s the first thing that Peter says after closing the front door

“Sweetie! Come to the kitchen!” Aunt May yelled. Peter dropped his stuff in the couch by the living room and proceeded to go to the kitchen. And there they were. Ben was cooking while May was cleaning the dishes 

“Pete pie! How was school?” May asks with a smile 

“It was great. Aced my Spanish quiz” Peter said sitting by the kitchen counter 

“How was Ned’s house? Did you have fun?” Ben asks while cooking. Peter hesitated before answering

Why I left (chapter 11)

Summary:

Today, he felt really nostalgic. He missed hanging out with Tony a lot. Every second that he is in his room just staring at the ceiling he misses him more. He would often question if he should call off the protocol so they know where he is, but everytime he does that then he proceeds to ask himself if they are even looking. Tony is probably relieved that he is gone.

Peter missed his family. God he missed them a whole lot. Or at least his other family. He felt guilty every day since he ran away, and he made sure that they wouldn’t find him. He knew it was better that way, but it still hurt a whole lot. It actually hurt even physically. He hasn’t been out of his department since he ran away so he had to deal with Ben on a daily basis. That was the worst, but if everything was how it was supposed to be, Ben didn’t even notice that he was there. If the bills are being paid and there’s food in the fridge, Ben doesn’t acknowledge Peter. It wasn’t perfect though. Sometimes Ben would get severely drunk, or at least more than usual, he would take it on Peter. Today, he felt really nostalgic. He missed hanging out with Tony a lot. Every second that he is in his room just staring at the ceiling he misses him more. He would often question if he should call off the protocol so they know where he is, but everytime he does that then he proceeds to ask himself if they are even looking. Tony is probably relieved that he is gone.

He didn’t like to think about it, so instead he decided to wear the last gift Tony ever gave him. His MIT sweater. He remembers very vividly when Ben told him to not wear it anymore, but at this point he probably forgot. The alcohol probably already messed with his mental health. Or at least Peter hoped so, because if that wasn’t the case, god knows what Ben would do. He really felt hungry at that moment and he ran out of snacks inside of his room. He peeked through the door and saw Ben watching tv. That was convenient because it meant that if Peter was really quiet he wouldn't have to deal with him. Emotionally or physically.

He proceeds to make his way to the kitchen and the moment he opens the fridge, he starts feeling Ben staring at him.

“If you are gonna take more of my food, pass me a beer while you are at it. That’s the only thing you do. Take, and take, and take, and you never give. A parasite is what they call it. You’re a parasite” Ben says and on the verge of tears he grabs a can of beer and hands it to Ben. Peter then goes back to the kitchen, grabs a box of granola bars and when he heads back to his room “Wait” Peter immediately stops “Go to the kitchen and grab a knife for me” Peter raises an eyebrow. He left the box on the floor of his room and walked back to the kitchen. While he was looking in the drawers for a knife, he could hear Ben standing up. When he finally found it he handed it to Ben to proceed to stare at Peter “You think I wouldn’t have noticed the sweater that you stole?” And that’s when Peter realized that he just gave Ben a weapon and that he is about to suffer the consequences “Take it off Peter”

“Ben I-”

“Take the goddamn sweater off” Ben yelled and Peter did slowly. When he took it off, Ben grabbed it from Peter’s hands and proceeded to cut open the fabric

“No! Wait!-” It was too late for Peter to complain. He could see the pieces of fabric all over the place and the main piece on the floor with a whole in it. Peter was gonna reach to grab it but ben then grabbed Peter from his shirt and he put the knife against Peter’s cheek

“You killed my wife, and all you care about is a fucking sweater” Peter was scared. He thought he was going to die and that Ben was gonna kill him. Yet he still doesn’t move because maybe it is for the better “Now, I am a reasonable man, so I am not gonna kill you” Peter then starts feeling the knife going into his skin slowly and painfully making a straight long line in his cheek “But blood needs to be poured” Ben decides to finally let go off Peter who falls down almost immediately still in pain “You did this to yourself. Now get out of here” Peter struggles to stand up but when he does he makes his way to his room and locks himself in. He has blood and tears all over his face. He doesn’t see it but he can feel it. He can also feel the pain. He knew he was gonna heal fast, but deep inside of him he wishes that he doesn’t so he bleeds out and dies. That’s definitely one way to end it. Instead he just sits in his bed and cries while dealing with the pain.

“This is it. Peter’s department” Tony says looking at the building through the window

“Do you want me to come in with you?” Rhodey asks and Tony shakes his head

“If things get heated, I will call you in” Tony gave a last look at the building “Here I go” He gets out of the car and goes into the building.

He takes the elevator to Peter’s floor and goes straight to the 714. He decides that knocking wasn't the best option so instead he decides to just pick the lock and if that doesn't work just straight up break the door. To his surprise the door was open. He walks in and scans the room for any possible threats and there weren't any. He then started smelling a weird but very familiar smell. That's when he noticed the empty bottles all over the place, and Ben sleeping on the couch. He was sure that he just broke his two years of being sober just by being there. What the hell happened. He then keeps walking around until he notices he stepped on something. That something is the pieces of fabric of his MIT sweater that he gave to Peter that one time. Now that was weird. Even if Peter hated him, he doesn’t believe for a moment that the kid would do that knowing how much it meant to Tony. He grabs all of the pieces and when he is getting up he notices the knife in the kitchen counter. There was blood on that knife. It wasn’t even dry yet. That’s when he started to panic. That blood better not be Peter’s. He finally makes his way to Peter’s room. He opened it slowly. To his surprise the room looked nothing like the room he remembered. The nasa poster wasn’t there. The pictures of his friends and family were not on the walls. The floor was filled with snack bags, but even with that he could notice the droplets of blood that make a straight line to Peter’s bed. And there he was. His beloved kid was sitting in the corner of the bed with his arms around his legs. He could only hear the kid crying.

“What the hell happened?” Peter then snaps out of it when he hears Tony. Peter is now really mad

“What the hell are you doing here?!” Peter demands and Tony raises his eyebrows in shock when he sees Peter’s face

“What happened to you?” Tony says and Peter gets up

“How did you even find me?!” Peter says, and he looks really mad, but Tony doesn’t care because Peter had a cut in his face and it looked like it wasn’t healing properly

“How did you get hurt like this?” Tony said putting his hand on Peter’s face to see the wound better

“You have to get out of here! And I mean now! He can’t see you here!” Peter says freaking out

“Who are you talking about?” Tony wanted answers and he wanted them now

“Tony this is too much! I hacked FRIDAY so you could leave me alone! I don’t wanna be your pet for the media to see! Stop beind so fucking selfish and get out!” Peter said really mad

“What are you talking about?! Peter, tell me. Who can’t see me here?!” Tony demanded

“Ben, Tony! If Ben wakes up and sees you I am dead! Now go!” That’s when it clicked for Tony. It all made sense now. It wasn’t some villain who was hurting his kid. He looked out in the living room and he could see the man sleeping. That filled him with anger.

“Peter, how long has this been going on?” Tony asks looking at Ben trying to not go beat the shit out of him right on sight

“Tony I-” Peter tried to protest

“How long, Peter?!” Tony said even more mad now looking at Peter

“Since she died” Peter said quietly. Tony felt like an asshole. It was always right before his eyes and he never noticed. He should’ve noticed. After taking a deep breath Tony grabbed the box of granola bars that was in Peter’s desk and emptied it out to then start filling it with everything that he saw in that room that Peter would need. Some clothes, his laptop, the spider suit, some pictures and some books

“Grab whatever you need from here and go. I'll be waiting for you in the car. Do not make me come get you” Tony said angry and then he got out of there. And he really didn't want to go get him because if that happened he may reconsider not beating the shit out of Ben. When he got in the car, he looked like he just saw a ghost

“No luck?” Rhodey asks

“Wait” It’s all that comes out of Tony’s mouth. Not less than thirty seconds later, Rhodey seed Peter with his backpack just opening the door of the backseat and just sitting there

"Let's get to the tower Rhodes" Tony said looking at Peter who was just staring at the window. Without making any questions he then starts driving

Why I Left (Chapter 10.)

Summary:

“What about his card? You gave him a card when you gave him the internship right?” Pepper asked typing something in her laptop “He converted all of it to cash in the atm in the museum downstairs and then threw it in the recycling bin right next to said atm. At this point this the spider is just making fun of me” Tony said frustrated “It is tuesday. I can go check if he attended to school” Happy said on his phone “Nope. I already did. Been doing it for the whole two weeks we’ve been looking” Pepper said and Tony was honestly shocked that it has been so long. He looks around and there are coffee mugs everywhere, random papers and tablets where they are not supposed to be, every screen in the room had to do with Peter’s search ---

“Kid, how are you doing?” Tony said while working in the suit update

“Good actually. The new webb formula is looking great!” Peter says with a smile while mixing some stuff that Tony didn’t get. He didn’t need to though

“That’s cool Peter. When you are done with that, I need you to fix the code in the Ironman suit that connects it to the arc reactor” Tony is expecting an answer from Peter, but when he doesn’t he turns around to find a really hesitant Peter “What is it?”

“I don’t really know how to code” Peter says stuttering

“You hacked your suit” Tony said confused

“No. I asked my friend to hack it for me. I have cero clue how coding works” Peter says and Tony sighs

“Ok then. You are in for a treat today, because I am gonna teach you how to code. Call it coding 101 with Tony Stark” Peter’s eyes widened and he starts smiling

“That’s awesome Mr. Stark! Thank you so much! I promise I will pay attention to do whatever you teach me perfectly!” Peter said really excited

“I know you will. First thing you need to know about coding is the ‘three u`s’ rule. Undetectable, Unbreakable and Unexpected. Ever since I started coding, these three rules are my secret to always get to what I want” Tony says. Peter raises an eyebrow giving away that he has no idea what Tony is talking about “Ok so, when your friend hacked my suit, I had ho idea that the suit was hacked at first. That’s the first U. Undetectable. Also I am not gonna lie to you, when you gave the suit back I did try to put the training wheels protocol back on, but I couldn’t. Unbreakable. And lastly, you are the last person I think of that would hack a million dollar suit. Unexpected” Peter wanted to argue back about the last point, but he decided not to. “Now, go grab your laptop, cause we are coding today” Tony said and Peter with a smile ran to the other side of the lab to grab his laptop

“I’m so sorry it took me so long. The elevator was malfunctioning but I am-” Pepper was looking to her phone while talking, and when she looked up she was...concerned “You are sticked to the floor”

“I am fully aware of that. In Peter’s desk there should be a bottle with the level ‘unsticky spray’. Can you reach it please?” Pepper was confused. She still did what she was told, but that didn’t answer questions. Tony did seem off. Last time she saw him off was right before Germany, but that didn’t last long because Peter started to be part of their lives around that time. But Peter wasn’t there. It was weird considering that she told Tony to not let him out.

“Where is Peter?” She asked. She shouldn’t have asked that. Tony looked like his world was vanishing

“He ran away Pepper” Pepper was confused now but she let Tony talk “Something is going on with that kid Pepper. He’s in trouble. I can just feel it. I need to track him and make sure he is ok” Tony says, really worried. Pepper wanted to argue but instead she just nodded

“What do you need me to do?” Pepper asks and then Tony stands up

“Call Rhodey. Tell him that I need him here and right now. I am finding my kid.

And then he starts. He pulls up the coding in the hologram screen. The kid did really well because at first sight it looked like he did nothing but little did Tony know that was just the beginning of one of the biggest hacks he’s ever seen.

Undetectable

“Tony” It’s been seven hours since Peter left. Tony hasn’t gone out of the lab since Peter left. He refuses to leave until he finds his kid “Tony, Rhodey is gonna be here tomorrow morning”

“Pepper I love you but if you are here to ask me to take a break I hate to break it to you” Tony says without stopping working

“Actually, I am here to tell you that I am going to look for him” Tony raises an eyebrow and turns around to look at her “If he left without being noticed, he would at least use the Spiderman suit. He must be out in the streets somewhere. If not I’ll go to his department to look for him there, I’ll also call his friends to see if they know where he could be, and all of that stuff” Tony was surprised, in fact. His wife never encouraged him to stay all night in the lab “Don’t look at me like that. He is my kid too. You are not the only one that is gonna stay up all night today” Then Pepper left the lab.

Well that was new. Tony was a hundred percent sure Pepper would just tell him to go get some sleep. Tony then just kept trying to break the code. What he didn’t know is that it was gonna take him a while. He tried literally everything that he could think of and none of it worked. He was Tony Stark for god’s sake. Tony fucking Stark was being outsmarted by the same sixteen year old that he spent time with. But he needed to keep trying. For Peter. For his kid.

“You look like you visited hell” Tony then looked over his shoulder and scoffed

“I’ve looked worse” Tony says and Rhodey shakes his head

“So, Pepper mentioned about the spider kid and his aunt but we didn’t really get into the details so I would like to know why am I here?” Rhodey says looking at Tony’s screen

“Peter is in a lot of trouble and I don’t even know where he is. All connections were cut and I’ve been trying to find any kind of connection with him since yesterday but I am losing my mind” Tony says without taking his eyes out of the screen

“Have you tried locating the ip address of his phone or the suit?” Rhodey asks 

“Yup. Also, do you think you can try to find something on Ben Parker? For some reason I have the feeling that he has something to do with all of this. Called him a few days ago and the man was not in a good mood” Tony explains which makes Rhodey doubt about this

“You think that the kid’s uncle killed his aunt or something?” Rhodey asks

“Nah. The police report says that the guy that killed May hasn’t been found, which by the way I also have to look into that guy” Tony says thinking out loud

“So the kid hacked FRI? Is it bad?” Rhodey asks looking at Tony’s screen 

“He knew what he was doing. This is advanced level shit. Almost unbreakable” Tony says remembering the first time he teached Peter how to code. The kid learned every single bit that Tony teached him. 

“Have you tried looking in the news for spiderman? Even the smallest thing could help. Even if it is just some girl posting in her stories a picture of him or something like that” Rhodey said grabbing a tablet

“I already did it but do that again just to see if there is anything new. Just know that if I have to reunite the Avengers to find him, I'll even get Thor to visit midgard” Tony said confidently. He was sure that he was gonna find his kid. Or even better, he was sure that his kid was in danger. That terrified Tony. and fear is the greatest motivator. After a couple hours they called in Happy to go question his friends (“Keep it legal Happy! Can’t handle looking for a kid and a lawsuit at the same time!”). Pepper came back with no luck. But that wouldn't make them give up. They will find out what happened.

“What about his card? You gave him a card when you gave him the internship right?” Pepper asked typing something in her laptop

“He converted all of it to cash in the atm in the museum downstairs and then threw it in the recycling bin right next to said atm. At this point this the spider is just making fun of me” Tony said frustrated

“It is tuesday. I can go check if he attended to school” Happy said on his phone

“Nope. I already did. Been doing it for the whole two weeks we’ve been looking” Pepper said and Tony was honestly shocked that it has been so long. He looks around and there are coffee mugs everywhere, random papers and tablets where they are not supposed to be, every screen in the room had to do with Peter’s search

“Well, this can’t be right” Rhodey said out loud, catching everyone’s attention. “The first thing I did was look into mister uncle dearest and got nothing. I left it alone but now I decided to double check and there is an ip address. Ben’s phone” Tony then took a look into Rhodey’s tablet and he was right. He was surprised actually. He could tell that Peter was so precise and careful with all of his personal info, and everyone else that could have a connection with him. He forgot his uncle. 

“This is-” Tony made a pause to think of something to say that properly describes the situation

“Unexpected” FRIDAY said and Tony raised his eyebrow

“Yeah” Tony said and then he started looking into Ben’s phone. He was connected to the same wifi connection as Peter’s laptop and phone. That’s where they had to be. He finally looked into the address. Peter’s department

“That can’t be. Last time I was there, it was empty. No lights or sound” Pepper said and Tony got up his chair

“I am gonna go check this time. Something tells me we got him. Rhodey, you drive. Pepper, stay here in case something happens, and Happy, go get his favorite stuff for when we get back here” Tony said determined. 

He is on his way.

Lol it's june

Ngl idk if coming back from my break is a good idea cause I took a break of every social media for mental health reasons. I guess I am back??? I know that I'll be posting a new chapter to the fanfic soon cause I literally have like five chapters that I just casually never posted and are ready to upload. I am gonna be active but just not as much and we'll see.
