idk why people think bucky couldn't be gentle and tender with steve if he gets injured in a fight just bc he chews him out over some of the things he does in catfa?? bc like he can literally do either depending on the circumstances not only that but he could be both at the same time like he could be patching steve up while literally telling him he's a dumbass like it does not have to be one or the other

"Yeah, dad. I am at the tower."
"What do you mean why? I live AND work here."
"Yeah, I am taking care of myself, mom." "No, they don't fight each other all the time."
"No, Tony hasn't filled the tower with deadly robots." "No, Steve doesn't conduct history lessons here."
You sighed as your parents asked you for the 10th time this week if you were being kept hostage at the Avengers compound.
Your dad spoke from the other side of the phone. "You know we worry about you, princess. We just don't trust those superheroes."
You smiled a little at the nickname your dad had always called you since you were a little girl. "Yeah, dad, I understand that you worry about me but they are my friends and I trust them. I really wish you could trust them too."
Your parents had always been a little too protective of you. Being an only child, you were the object of their affection more often than not. It had never bothered you as much. You know they meant well.
But it had gotten much worse now. About a year ago, Tony Stark himself offered you a job to work with the avengers considering your skills and obviously, you said yes. It was an opportunity of a lifetime and you had found a family in the team too.
You hadn't told your parents about your new job for 6 months because you were afraid of their reaction. As you had anticipated, they didn't take their little girl working for superheroes very well.
Okay, that was an understatement. Your parents didn't trust the Avengers and they surely didn't trust them enough to be able to protect you. They took any chance they got to convince you to leave the job. All you wanted was for both of your families to get along. Maybe it was too much to ask for.
"Dad, we are friends. We look out for each other. We have each others' backs. Give them a chance, please. Why can't you try to trust them?"
"Hmm. Let me see. Your 'friends' consist of ex-assassins, a witch who used to work for Hydra, a "genius" and his scientist friend who created a robot that wanted to kill the whole of humanity. Oh, and the scientist also has huge anger issues. Like he literally turns into a monster when he is angry. Your best friend has killed more people than she can count. And this group of yours almost broke up once when the best friend of one killed the parents of another. Oh, and that soldier of yours has also reportedly killed a president. You are right. What's there to not trust?"
"Dad, he was brainwashed!!"
"Doesn't make him any less unstable."
You sighed. These arguments with your parents were a dead end. You knew you weren't going to get anywhere.
"Alright, mom, dad. I gotta go."
"Okay, sweetheart. Just take care of yourself. At least until we come to meet you next month."
You smiled at that. "Can't wait. I want to introduce you to everybody. Love you, guys. See you soon, Bye"
"We love you too, princess."
Your smile dropped as you hung up the phone and realization struck you. Your parents were going to visit and as much as you wanted them to meet everybody, you were scared. You could never be sure about how your parents would react. They were too unpredictable.
You were so lost in your thoughts that you didn't hear footsteps approaching.
"You okay, doll?"
The voice startled you as you turned back to be met by the beautiful blue of Bucky's eyes. You kept a hand on your chest to calm your breathing. "God, you scared me, Buck."
Bucky just chuckled as he looked at you, eyes filled with concern. "Well, maybe you should be careful who sneaks up on you, doll. This is not really the safest place on Earth."
"The only person who sneaks up on me is you, Bucky." You replied with a smile of your own, as you felt your concerns slipping away.
"Exactly my point. I am not really the most trustworthy person either."
"Then why do I trust you with my life?" The words slipped before you could think about how they would sound. Your cheeks turn little red as you look down at your feet. "You are too good for your own good," Bucky replied with a slight blush of his own and he meant it with everything he had. You were too pure and too trusting for this world. He would never know how he got to even call you his friend.
His eyes squinted as he noticed something. "Doll, there's something in your hair."
Before you could react, he took a step towards you and with gentle hands removed a piece of confetti out of your hair.
You ran your hands through your hair before looking up to thank him when you realized how close the both of you were standing. You were pretty sure he could hear how fast your heart was beating.
The both of you stood there staring into each other's eyes until Bucky took a step back, red color creeping up to his cheeks. He rubbed his neck, flustered, before finally speaking, "Um, I should - I should go."
You nodded your head, trying desperately to get your heart to beat normally. "Yeah, yeah. I'll see you around."
As Bucky walked away, you couldn't wipe off the smile from your face when suddenly your conversation with your parents hit you again.
God, it was going to be a long month.

"And if you need anything, you can also ask Jarvis." You explained to your parents with the widest grin on your face.
"God, I can't believe you guys are finally here."
Your parents smiled at you before your mom engulfed you in a hug, 7th in the past 1 hour.
"Okay, guys. You know I love you both so much, but we are going to go in now and meet everybody. Can you please, please be nice?"
Your mom put her hand on her chest with a dramatic expression, "You don't trust us?"
You chuckled at how dramatic your mother could sometimes be. "I do, You know I do. But I also know as a matter of fact that both of you aren't very fond of my friends. And all I am asking is that you give them a chance. They are great people, mom. They are really really great and I care a lot about all of them. So, I just need you to be a little open-minded about them. That's all I am asking. Can you do that for me?" "Of course, we will, princess. We hate these inept superheroes but not as much as we love you."
Your parents then looked at each other a too long, which you didn't think much of, too excited at the prospect of your parents and friends getting along.
You took them inside the compound as they looked around in what you hoped was awe.
"Good morning, J.A.R.V.I.S" You greeted the AI just like you did every day.
"Good morning, Ms l/n"
Your parents looked around in shock trying to figure out where that voice came from when you chuckled. "Mom, dad, I told you, you need anything, just ask J.A.R.V.I.S"
Your dad narrowed his eyes at you. "Where is this JARVIS of yours?"
You giggled before replying, "Everywhere and nowhere." Troubling your parents never got old.
"Stop putting forward riddles, we are not in a fantasy adventure movie." Your mom complained.
"Sorry. Sorry Mom, dad, meet J.A.R.V.I.S. He is an AI that operates the whole tower, literally. If you want to know anything, just ask him. Tony created him. That man is such a genius."
Your dad almost rolled his eyes. "Why couldn't he just hire a human to work for him, just like normal people do?"
You sighed, just hoping that the day goes smoothly.
You couldn't be more wrong.

"And this room is the briefing room." You opened the door to let your parents in but they just looked around from the doorway.
You had just started showing your parents around the compound, readying yourself for the inevitable. The whole team was pretty excited about meeting your parents and you knew sooner than later that someone will run into you.
The inevitable happened as soon as you stepped into the dining room.
Tony was standing there, getting his morning cup of coffee and his face told you he hadn't slept very well last night. Ever since he picked up the mission to update the compound's security system last month, he had hardly been sleeping. You were worried about him.
"Tony?" You said in a soft voice so as to not startle him.
"Oh, hey, kiddo. Awake a little too early today?" He said with a tired smile on his face, taking a jab at the fact that you were definitely not a morning person.
"Are you okay, Tony?"
"Hmm, yeah. Totally." He then looked at your parents who were standing beside you with a scowl on their faces. "Won't you introduce us?"
"Oh, right." A wide grin spread on your face as you turned towards your parents. "Mom, dad. This is Tony. Kind of the co-leader of the group. Tony, these are my parents."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr and Mrs l/n. You have a great daughter."
Your cheeks turned red until your parents began speaking.
"So, he is the guy who has his head so up his arse that he doesn't care about anyone besides himself?" Your dad with a scowl on his face.
You gasped as Tony's eyes widened. "Dad, what are you talking about?"
"He is Stark, right? That's what you said about him after the first day you worked here."
Your eyes widened as your mouth fell open. What was happening? You hadn't even told your parents about your job for the first 6 months. Why were they -
Your eyes frantically searched for Tony's and you felt a slight pain in your chest when you saw how hard he was trying to feign the hurt in his eyes. You needed to set this right. "Tony - "
"Oh, and could you please stop annoying our daughter with all the science and tech talk? That stuff bores the shit out of her." Your mother interrupted you before you could even say anything.
You looked at Tony, desperately trying to explain to him that it wasn't true. You had told your parents how much you loved listening to Tony rambling about his latest creation. You loved how passionate he was about his work. You couldn't imagine your parents using that against you like this.
Before you could say something, Tony spoke, "Oh, I am sorry, I didn't know me talking about what essentially pays your salary irritated you so much." He said with a snarl in his voice that he had never used with you before. Even though the both of you weren't that apart in age, he was like a dad to you and you would never hurt him.
"Tony, it's not what you think." You said, desperately asking him to give you a chance to explain yourself when some more people walked through the door.
You watched as Nat and Wanda entered the kitchen, engrossed in their talk, smiling when they see you.
"Heya, girl"
You internally panic. You didn't know what your parents were up to but this couldn't be nice. You just wanted to take them away from here.
Tony speaks up before you can do anything, "Her parents are here. And they have something very interesting to say. Turns out our goody two shoes has some very different thoughts about us."
"Tony, no. It's not like that. I don't know why - "
"Hey, let me guess who are these two." Your mother exclaimed, conveniently shutting you up.
Wanda looked between you and Tony in confusion before smiling at your parents. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you. Y/n talks a lot about you."
Your mom looked her up and down before saying with disdain in her voice, "Redhead. A pretty face. You must be the witch."
Wanda's smile wavered but she didn't let her discomfort show.
"You're the one who is so desperate for love that she is dating a toaster."
Wanda gasped as her smile fell. She looked at you, confused and hurt.
"Mom, what are you - "
"That's what you told us, princess. That she is dating a toaster. What's its name again? Vi - Vis.." "Vision. His name is Vision and he is NOT a toaster." Wanda then looked dead into your eyes. "But it's good to know that that's what you think, y/n."
You shook your head frantically. "No, no, Wan. It's not like that. You know that's not true. I would never say that."
Wanda's eyes didn't waver and dread filled you. Your friends were not trusting you.
"What does she say about me?" Nat spoke up. She asked as if she couldn't care less but being her best friend for almost a year now, you could read it in her eyes that she was almost as afraid of the answer as you were.
"You're the black widow, right?" Your father questioned.
Your mother spoke up without waiting for a reply, "You are the useless one. No, like, really, the three of us always wonder, why are you even a part of the group? There are supersoldiers in here, witches and literal gods, what do you do? Throw some punches? Kicks?"
"Gods. That reminds me, where are the self-proclaimed gods/aliens of yours?" Your dad snickered, amused.
"Which one?" Your mom questioned in reply. "The doofus or the monster which can never be trusted?"
You had had enough. You exclaimed, "Okay, guys. Enough. Stop talking."
Your dad smirked. The audacity. "Come on, princess. Aren't you tired of pretending? Don't you want your friends to know what you actually think about them?"
You opened your mouth to tell them that whatever they were saying was as far from the truth as it could get when everybody in the kitchen heard footsteps approaching.
You heard Steve before you saw him, "Who thinks about what?" He asked, genuinely curious.
Your heart started beating frantically when you realized he wasn't alone. Sam and Bucky had entered the kitchen with him. But unlike the other times, your heart was beating with fear. This couldn't be happening. No, no.
"Y/n's parents are here. They were telling us all the great stuff she says about us to them." Wanda said with pure disgust in her voice. You had never seen her this mad.
"Guys, trust me. It's not - " "Come on, y/n. Let them speak." Sam said before turning towards your parents. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr and Mrs l/n."
Your father rolled his eyes before saying, "You're the one who got kicked out of the Air Force and then kissed Captain America's arse for a job."
Sam's jaw dropped but before he could say anything your mom replied, "No, honey. Y/n told us it was that Ant-man."
Your dad shook his head. "No, no. Antman is the one who went to jail. He is Falcon."
You were seeing red now. You knew that your parents were a little too overprotective of you and hence didn't like you taking this job. But you thought meeting your friends and realizing how caring and nice everybody was would change their minds. You never thought that they would ever do this to you.
You desperately wanted to explain yourself. To tell your friends that this was all a lie but you couldn't. You could see it in their eyes that they already hated you. And with your parents standing right there, you knew it would be impossible to give them. Maybe you could talk to them after your parents left. You just hoped they would give you a chance to explain yourself.
When your dad's eyes landed on Bucky, panic swelled inside you. Nononono.
"Oh, and you must be the winter soldier. That metal arm makes it pretty obvious though." Your dad said as he pointed towards Bucky's left side with pure disgust in his eyes as if it was the most horrifying thing he had ever seen.
Tears welled in your eyes as you saw how Bucky pulled his sleeves to cover more of his arm and blocked it from view.
"Do you have any idea how difficult you make it for people to work in this compound? Y/n complains to us how she has to walk on eggshells around you, scared that anytime you would get back to being the assassin that you have always been." Your mother uttered the words with a permanent frown on her face.
"But can you blame her though? You can not just kill hundreds of people and live freely, pretending to be a hero."
"Enough." You shouted. You couldn't take it anymore and your parents had gone too far.
You looked at Bucky, about to explain to him that none of it was true. That you were never scared of him. Not even for a second. Because you loved him. Since the day you had met him, your heart had held nothing but love for him.
But the look that you saw in his eyes made you stop in your tracks. He wasn't looking at you with hate or anger. No, it was much worse. He looked hurt. As if someone had pulled his heart out of his chest and stomped on it. You couldn't help but notice that his eyes held a little bit of understanding too as if he didn't blame you for thinking that way.
Your chest hurt and you wanted nothing more than to reach out to him.
"Wow. That - that was." Steve broke the silence, but it was the first time you had seen him out of words. "Is that really what you think about us, y/n?"
"No, no, Steve, None of it is true."
"Come on, princess. You don't have to put up a facade anymore. No more pretense."
"Stop it." You shouted at your parents. This was the first time you had ever raised your voice at them, but you couldn't care less. They were ruining everything.
"Guys, you need to trust me. Please." You looked at everybody, begging them with your eyes and words to just trust you.
"I don't understand. Why did you pretend to be our friend for so long? Why pretend to care when that's what you really think?" Wanda spoke, bewildered.
"No, no. That's not - " You spoke, tears at the brim of your eyes. This couldn't be happening.
"For the money, of course. Come on, why would someone live in the most dangerous place on earth if not for a buttload of money?" Your dad said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"No, no, no, please. You guys have to trust me, please." You looked around at everybody, frantically searching for even a hint that everything was not ever. That they could trust you. But all you got was hurt faces and built-up walls.
"Why are you doing this to me?" You shout at your parents. You were extremely close to sliding on the floor and crying your heart out.
"We are trying to help you, princess. We are freeing you." Your mom said with a smug expression.
"You don't have to do that anymore," Tony spoke and all the eyes in the room looked at him. Hope swelled in your chest.
"You don't have to stay here and pretend to like us. I really really want to fire you but you know too much and your statistical skills are too good to be wasted. So, you will be transferred. Somewhere far from us where we don't ever have to see your face." Tony spoke with a sense of finality in his voice and your heart broke into a hundred pieces.
You looked at your feet and swallowed the lump in your throat before looking at him and whispering, "You don't have to do that." You then turned and looked into the blues of Bucky's eyes which you were so familiar with and all you could do was whisper, "I am sorry."
You didn't wait for anybody's response before walking out and towards your room.
There was nothing that you could do anymore.
You were not going to take that transfer.
This job was never about money to you. You had found a family here, and you loved them with everything you had. But it still wasn't enough for them to trust you.
You cried and cried and cried till you had no more tears to let go before getting up and packing your bag.
You had to leave. You couldn't face them again.
There was only one thing left to do.
✧༝┉˚*❋ ❋*˚┉༝✧✧༝┉˚*❋ ❋*˚┉༝✧✧༝┉˚*❋ ❋*˚┉༝✧✧༝┉˚*❋ ❋*˚┉༝✧✧༝┉˚*
The compound was silent.
It was as if nobody even lived here anymore.
Everybody sat at the dining table staring at the food in front of them, nobody taking a bite.
It was as if a part of them was missing. As if the one thread that had bound them together was somehow suddenly torn apart.
There was an unspoken agreement between them. Nobody would talk about what had happened earlier that day. The wound was too fresh to be confronted.
Nobody knew where you were right now. But everybody just assumed that you were in your room.
Steve was very close to barging into your room and bringing you to the dining table. He couldn't count the number of times he had told you that you shouldn't talk while eating and even after choking on your food twice, you hadn't listened to him and Steve was glad. There was nothing he wouldn't give right now to bring back the lively chatter that had always surrounded the dining table. But he had to remind himself that everything he had thought was a lie, a pretense.
Tony was angry. He was seething. He had cared for you like you were his own daughter and you had thrown all of that into a drain.
Wanda just wanted to know how you were so good at acting. How you could pretend to be her best friend when you hated her all along?
But Bucky just wanted to know one thing - why. He didn't blame you for thinking that way about him. You weren't the only one who did. But he wanted to know why you would pretend to be his friend, to care about him when you thought him to be a monster. Why did you comfort him after all those panic attacks and nightmares telling him it wasn't his fault when you blamed him for every single thing? Why had you let him fall in love with you if you couldn't even stand him? You had to know that it would leave him devastated. He didn't blame you for hating him, but how was he supposed to live without your light now? Especially when he knew it was never for him?
Nat couldn't take it anymore. She couldn't just let everyone swallow themselves in silence for a person who never even cared about them in the first place. She harshly got up before walking towards the living room for a bottle of wine.
She shook her head when the memories of all of you hanging out at the same place plagued her mind.
As she walked past the bookshelf, she noticed something which had never been there before.
She frowned as she walked towards it to realize that it was a pen drive. She slowly picked it up to find a note attached to it which just read, "Sorry".
She was so engrossed that she didn't hear footsteps approaching until a hand took the pen drive from her. She looked up to realize Tony was looking at the drive intently as if scanning it with his eyes.
"What's this?" He asked, confused.
"No idea. Found it on the bookshelf."
Tony read the note and recognized the handwriting almost instantly. "It's y/n's."
✧༝┉˚*❋ ❋*˚┉༝✧✧༝┉˚*❋ ❋*˚┉༝✧✧༝┉˚*❋ ❋*˚┉༝✧✧༝┉˚*❋ ❋*˚┉༝✧✧༝┉˚*
Everybody sat in the living room staring intently at the screen before them.
Tony had assembled everybody and they had all agreed to watch the pen drive once. Maybe it would answer their questions. Maybe it was just an old pen drive and had to do nothing with what had happened today but they had to know.
The system finally finished scanning the drive after what felt like a lifetime and your face flashed on the screen.
Your tears-stained cheeks and red, swollen eyes, told them that the video was indeed today's.
"Hey, guys." You sounded broken and defeated.
"I am not even sure that you are going to watch this." You let out a sad chuckle.
"But I just needed to say this 'cause it feels like if I don't, it will swallow me whole. And you guys deserve to know the truth, too."
"I just - I want you all to know that all that you heard today, none of it was true. Not even a single word of it. And I need you guys to know this." You looked directly into the camera as if begging them to trust you and nobody dared to move.
"I - I don't know why my parents did what they did. I have no idea. I can tell myself that they were trying to protect me, but who am I trying to convince? 'Cause, you don't protect someone by taking away the best thing that ever happened to them." You sniffled, rubbing your palms on your face to wipe off the tears.
"And that is what this team was for me. This job, this team, was the best thing that ever happened to me. And it was never because of the money or the luxuries of living in the tower, it was you guys. You were a family I found in a city I knew nothing about. And that was what mattered to me."
Tony wanted to shut the video off, to tell everybody that maybe you were lying here too, pretending, but he knew it wasn't true. Your eyes shone with guilt and desperation and eyes never lie.
The video continued. "And maybe you are not even watching this video. Maybe you will never know how I actually felt and will hate me forever, but if there is even a slight chance that you are watching this, and there is a small part of you that can trust me, I want you to know what I actually think about you.
Tony, you were like a dad to me. You always looked out for me and were so damn concerned about me the whole time and I can't thank you enough. Thank you for always looking out for me and I never for a second got annoyed by you talking about tech, you might not know this but your eyes shine brighter when you are talking about your creations and I would never get tired of that. The only complaint I had for you is that you need to take care of yourself more. Stop sleeping in your lab and eating shawarma all the time in the name of food, it's not healthy. Take care of yourself, Tony, 'cause there are some people who will always need you."
Tony looked away, blinking hard so as to not let the tears roll down his cheeks. All the times when you brought him food in his lab because he hadn't left his spot for hours and then you forced him to finish it all, you didn't do it as a pretense, you did it because you genuinely cared about him.
"Nat, you're the bravest and the most badass person I know. Don't tell anyone, but you are my favorite fighter. I admire you so damn much. Who cares that you can't lift things with your mind or fly? You can kick people's asses without blinking an eye. You inspire me so much."
"Wanda, you and Nat are my best friends and I am so proud of you. After everything you've lost, gathering the courage to love again is the most courageous thing I've ever seen. You and Vis make me believe in love. Hell, I even had a speech ready for your wedding as your bridesmaid." You had a small smile on your face as if remembering something, "Now that I am not going to be there anymore, Nat, I am going to ask you to give a great speech from my side too. I know you are not a very emotion-oriented person, but please try. 'Cause Wanda deserves nothing but the best."
Wanda sniffed audibly and Nat kept a hand on her shoulder.
"Thor, prince of Asgard, Son of Odin." You said in the voice that Thor had taught you to intimate a long time ago and chuckled. "I know you are the one who stole all my pop tarts." As Thor's eyes widened, the video continued, "Don't act surprised. Why do you think I never changed the place of keeping my pop tarts even after they went missing every single week? I am not upset, nope. I don't even like those that much. I just need you to know that I won't be there to keep those tarts there. Ask J.A.R.V.I.S., he knows where I brought them from. He will tell you."
"Sam." Sam looked up from his spot as he heard his name. "I am a little upset with you. You never let me use red wig." You pouted and Sam chuckled. "But you do know that you are the funniest, smartest, and one of the most deserving people to be on the team, right? Hell, bringing you to the team was the best decision Steve ever made."
You stopped for a moment looking down at your feet, when you breathed, "Bucky." Your voice was much softer now as if his name was a prayer.
Bucky looked up into the camera, his heart beating a mile per minute. If this was all a lie too, he didn't want to know what you had to say. Even if it was actually how you felt, he wasn't sure he was ready for what you were going to say.
"I - " You stopped and took a deep breath. You looked vulnerable as if you were apart to lay your soul bare in front of you. "Bucky, I just - Whatever you heard today, it is not true. None of it. Since the day I met you, I have never been scared of you. Not for a single second. You know I don't blame you for anything that Hydra did, you have to know. I don't think you were a monster. I think you are the sweetest, kindest and bravest person I know. I wasn't lying when I told you that I trusted you with my life. I trust you, I care about you, and I - "
Bucky's breath hitched in his throat as you suddenly stopped.
"Well, there is a major chance that you're not even watching this, so .. why not? It's not like I am ever going to get a chance to say it to you. So, here it is -
I love you, Bucky. I am in love with you. I have been for a very long time now. I could tell myself that it was just a small crush and it would go away sooner or later, but who am I kidding? I want to spend every single moment of my day with you. You're the first thought that comes to my mind when I wake up and my last memory before I fall asleep. When you are around, I can't stop looking at you and when you are not, all I want to do is look at you. I know that you might never feel this way about me, especially after today, but I just had to say it once."
You took a deep breath before speaking with finality in your voice, "I just hope that one day you guys will know that it wasn't a pretense. That this team was everything to me. I found a family, a place to call home, I found love. I hope that one day you will be able to forgive me."
The video stopped and everybody bowed their heads down while Bucky just stared at the screen desperately, as if you would walk out of it.
You loved him.
You wanted to be with him and god if that thought alone wasn't the best thing that had ever happened to him. He didn't think you could love him. He had accepted the fact that he was destined to love you from afar, a love that you would never know about.
But you felt the same. He didn't have to watch you fall in love with someone else and get your happily ever after, because you wanted that to be him.
You could be his happily ever after.
Before he could let himself be hopeful, realization struck him and left him breathless.
You had said that you would never get the chance to say it to him personally. The things that you had said, the finality in your voice, it had all sounded like a ... goodbye.
He stood up abruptly, only to realize that all the eyes were on him.
Some were filled with tears, others were trying really hard to keep their emotions in check. No, no, this couldn't be. How was he supposed to live without you now that he knew that you loved him too?
Without muttering a word to anybody, he rushed out of the room, through the corridor, and towards your room. You couldn't have gone yet. No, no, he would beg you to stay, get on his knees and ask you to forgive him.
He stood outside your door for a moment, taking a deep breath, mentally preparing himself.
He brought his hand to knock on your door, only to realize that it wasn't locked.
With bated breath, he pushed the door open.
It was vacant. Everything that you had put in to make it a home, was gone.
You were gone.

The whole team stood in the living room, waiting.
Bucky walked in, his head shaking and arms trembling.
Nobody uttered a word as they waited for him to give words to the inevitable. He looked up, tears brimming his eyes as he whispered, "She is gone."
Everybody gasped as guilt filled them.
Only if they had trusted you.
"No, no. We cannot give up. We need to find her. I am going to find her. We cannot give up this easily." Bucky said, praying that he was right, that not everything was lost. There was still hope. There had to be.
"He is right. We can't just let her go." Wanda said, tears straining her cheeks. "There has to be a way." Sam agreed.
Tony suddenly lightened up as he took out his tablet. "We can track her. If she hasn't switched off her phone, we can find her exact location." He had enabled a tracking sensor in everyone's phone some time ago. He remembered the way you had pouted and teased him that it was an invasion of privacy, but had finally let him install it nonetheless.
He let out a sigh of relief when he realized he could still check the location of his phone. "She is heading towards the airport."
Dread filled everybody as Tony's words sank in. You were leaving. Forever.
"She is in a cab right now. I can figure out its number, but it might be too late."
"I have to go," Bucky exclaimed. "I am not going to let her go. No. I need to find her." He looked around, ready to fight anyone who came in his way.
But everybody just gave him a reassuring look as Steve whispered, "Go, get the girl, Buck."

You looked through the window as the city lights bristled by.
Your cheeks were still stained with tears as you left behind the place you had called home.
But there was no other option. Your parents had left you with no other choice.
It hurt that they had actually been successful in their mind games, but there was nothing you could do. Your parents had taken from you, the best part of your life.
You were going to miss the city, the team, and your friends, but there was one person you were going to miss the most.
Leaving him was like leaving a part of your behind and you knew that Bucky Barnes was always going to have a piece of your heart, even if he didn't know about it.
You swallowed the lump in your throat as the cab came to an abrupt, sudden stop.
The cab driver looked back at you before asking, "Ma'am, are you okay."
You nodded your head before asking, "Are you?" After he nodded, you continued, "What happened?" "A man just rushed his bike past us, way beyond the speeding limit, and then stopped it right before us, in the middle of the bridge."
You frowned as you looked in front of the cab.
Your breath hitched in your throat as you recognized the bike and the man getting down from it.
"Bucky." You breathed before opening the cab door, against the driver's protests, your legs on autopilot.
When your eyes met Bucky's, you could see him visibly relaxing with relief.
"Bucky, what are you - " You exclaimed against the sound of the wind.
He got down from his bike and started walking towards you quickly. "Doll, how could you?"
Your heart skipped a beat at the nickname before you lowered your head. Of course, he hated you after what had happened. He didn't trust you.
You looked up to realize that he was a couple of feet distance from you now. You opened your mouth, apologies about to come tumbling from your lips when you were cut off by him.
You gasped in shock as Bucky closed the little distance between the both of you, pressing his lips to yours, in a gentle, yet desperate kiss, as if he was drowning and only the feeling of your lips could bring him back to the shore.
When the surprise finally washed off, you brought your hands to his chest as his led down to your waist, and you kissed him back. You didn't understand what was happening. But if it was goodbye, you wanted it to last forever.
When the necessity to breathe arose, Bucky pulled back but stood close.
He leaned in and touched your forehead with his before closing his eyes.
You breathed him in. He smelled of fresh coffee and pine. He smelled like home.
"How could you leave me, doll? Without even saying anything. Not even a goodbye?" He tried to be upset with you. But who was he kidding? You could stab him through his chest and he would still thank you.
Tears brimmed your eyes as you took in a deep breath, you wanted to savor this moment. "Buck, I - I am sorry. Whatever my parents said today, it was a lie. A huge lie. I wanted to tell you, but - "
"It's okay, doll. I trust you. But, I - I need to ask you something." He took a deep breath, already dreading your answer to the question he was about to ask. "Did you mean it?"
"Of course, I didn't. None of it. I don't blame you for anything, Bucky. I am not scared of you. I have never been."
"That's not." Bucky closed his eyes shut, praying that he could word his feelings correctly. "We - we saw the video."
Your eyes widened as realization struck you. He knew.
You had stupidly confessed all your feelings on a video. What were you thinking? He would be so embarrassed right now but you couldn't back out now.
"Buck, I - I do love you. That is the truth. But you don't have to say anything. I understand if you don't - "
Before you could finish your sentence, Bucky brought his fingers under your chin to make you look up at him before leaning in to press his lips against yours once again.
Hope swelled in your chest as you brought your arms to encircle his neck and kissed him back.
He pulled away a little too quickly to look up at you with a small smile on his face. The look in his eyes made butterflies erupt in your tummy with a ferocity you had never felt before.
"I love you too, doll. I do. With everything that I have. I love you and I am so so sorry that I didn't give you a chance to explain. I am so sorry that I didn't trust you.
I never told you this because I - I am not good enough for you, doll. I don't deserve you."
You shook your head, about to correct him, when he continued, "And I think I still don't. Being with you puts you in so much danger too, maybe I shouldn't even be with you. But I am tired of pretending that I don't want to. I am tired of pretending like I don't want to spend every single moment for the rest of my life with you. So, if you'll allow me, doll, I'll spend the rest of my life, trying to be the man you can proudly call yours 'cause I love you so damn much."
Tears were now flowing down your cheeks for a completely different reason. You leaned in to kiss him again when the both of you were interrupted by the cab driver shouting from the cab, growing impatient, "Madam, do you want to go or not?"
Bucky looked at you with hopeful eyes and you turned back to yell to the driver, "Never"

Matters of the Heart
Peter Parker x Fem!Stark!Reader x Harley Keener
Warning(s): Death
Notes: This is pretty short and end kind of abruptly, but it’s been in my drafts for so long and I like it too much to delete it. So, enjoy :)
Summary: It had been 5 years for you and 5 seconds for Peter. So to say it’s a bit of a shock for him to find you in the arms of someone else is an understatement.
Tumblr media
When the battle was over and Tony was gone, all Peter could think about was you.
How would you react to finding out your dad was dead? That he’d saved the universe and it cost him his life? It had taken you so long to get reacquainted with him and now he was gone.
And what about seeing him again? According to Doctor Strange, it had been five years. It baffled his mind to think that he’d missed out on five years with his loved ones.
What had changed?
"Where do we go now?” Rhodey asked, standing up and stepping away from where Peter and Pepper were still crouched, trying not to cry.
“Home, I suppose,” Steve replied, fighting his own tears. “I think everyone deserves that.”
So, Doctor Strange conjured up portals like he had before. But instead of leading people into battle, the portals lead home. To Wakanda, to New Asgard, to Clint’s farm, and, for many of the main Avengers, to Tony and Pepper’s home.
When they walked through it, Peter almost couldn’t believe that the rich and fancy Tony Stark had lived in this little house by a lake.
He noticed you sitting on the porch swing. Your hair had changed, along with a few more subtle things that come with time, but he could still tell that it was you.
What he didn’t know was who was sitting next to you, and why you were cuddled into his side.
You lifted your head when you saw them walk through the portal, getting the guy next to you’s attention, immediately knowing something was wrong.
“Mommy!” A little girl came running out of the house, little feet pattering down the wooden steps.
“Morgan, honey, stay up there by your sister.” Pepper shouted in reply, causing the little girl to pause her movements.
Morgan. Peter thought. Tony had another daughter while he was gone?
“Morgan, come here,” You said, reaching your hand out for her.
Peter felt himself tear up a little again, hearing your voice. He started to realize how long it had been since he’d talked to you and how angry you would be that he went and got himself into trouble again.
The thought almost made him laugh.
You lifted Morgan up, setting her on your lap and pulling her to your chest, whispering something to her so she kept her face hidden.
Bruce walked through the portal next, when Rhodey gave him the okay, carrying Tony’s body.
Peter could see the way you gasped, holding a hand to your mouth. The guy next to you wrapped his arm around you and you buried your head into his neck, crying.
The sight made Peter want to start crying again, too.
“Keep your head down, Morgan,” the guy said, running a gentle hand through your hair.
“Take him over to the barn, please,” Pepper said, barely above a whisper as she refrained from breaking. “Don’t let Morgan see.”
Bruce headed that direction, followed by Steve, Thor, Sam, and Bucky.
Pepper spared Peter a look, noticing how he couldn’t take his eyes off you.
“Come on, Peter,” She said, gently, beginning her walk to the deck of her house. Peter followed her.
“Mommy!” Morgan shouted, clumsily climbing off her sister’s lap to run into her mother’s arms. Her face full of happy ignorance.
Peter and you caught eyes and he could see the endless emotions swirling in your eyes when his name rolled off your lips, like you couldn’t believe it was him: “Peter.”
He wasn’t sure what to say, his eyes welling up with tears that threatened to spill over when you got up from the swing and wrapped him in a tight hug.
He hugged you back and for a minute it was like nothing had really changed as you cried into his shoulder.
“I thought I’d never see you again,” you whispered.
“It’s okay,” he replied. “I’m right here.”
Peter opened his eyes to look at the man on the swing. He didn’t recognize him, but he guessed you and he were the same age; five years older than Peter now.
You pulled back from the hug and wiped your eyes. Then you noticed him glancing over your shoulder.
“Oh...” you said.
You walked over the guy and held your hand out. He smiled at you, taking your hand and standing up.
“Peter, this is Harley,” You said, turning to face him. “My fiancé.”
Oh. Oh.
Peter’s eyes shot to your left hand, only now noticing the ring that sparkled there.
Five years.
Peter swallowed hard. “Oh, that’s- that’s great, Y/N. Congratulations.”
The guy (Harley) looked at him sadly, almost with pity. It made Peter’s blood boil for no good reason.
“Hey, I think we need a second,” you told Harley. “Could you go see if mom needs anything?”
Mom. You called Pepper ‘mom’ now. That was also new.
Harley nodded and headed inside, leaving you and Peter alone.
At first, he hadn’t noticed many changes in you. Sure, the hair was different, but you still looked like you.
And now, looking closer, he noticed the five years.
You had more smile lines and small wrinkles around your eyes, and they had a new wise-ness to them they didn’t before. You also carried yourself differently, more relaxed. Like you were no longer afraid to do something that would upset the press because Tony’s your dad.
“I’m sorry, uh,” You rubbed your arm up and down with one hand. A nervous tick that hadn’t changed. “This must all be hard for you.”
“You just lost your dad,” Peter replied. “It’s hard for you, too.”
“We both lost him,” you decided, tears pooling in your eyes. “But I’ve grieved before and I’ll do it again.”
Avoiding the subject of your relationship, Peter asked, “Did Aunt May-”
“Blipped too,” You replied. “Same with Ned and MJ.”
“Oh,” It felt wrong to say ‘good’ but at least he wouldn’t be completely alone like this.
Silence fell between you for a few moments before you found the courage to explain.
“Harley was one of dad’s protege’s, too. Before you.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah...from when he got lost in Tennessee. They bonded and dad kept tabs on him ever since. We met for the first time around then, but we’re both attending MIT and found each other there.” You said. “I didn’t really date anyone after you were gone...dad and I grieved you together. You were the only thing we ever agreed on.”
Peter couldn’t help but laugh.
It made you smile.
“But we had to move on. At the time we didn’t think there was anything we could do. The world was changing and we had to grow with it. I went to MIT and met Harley again and we just...connected. I fell in love with him. We’ve been together three years now. Engaged for hardly a month.”
Peter smiled sadly. “I’m happy for you, Y/N, I really am but, to me, just yesterday we were cuddling and watching movies together...”
“I wish there was something I could do...” you said.
That hadn’t changed either. You were just like Tony, always wanting to save everyone.
“Can you hug me one last time? Then give me a phone to call Aunt May?”
You laughed. “The hugs aren’t going anywhere, Peter. I still love you...just not in the same way.”
The two of you embraced and Peter sighed against you. This wasn’t going to be easy.
“Hey,”
You broke apart to see Harley standing in the doorway. “Sorry to interrupt, but Pepper's trying to cook.”
“Oh my god, stop her!” You said. “She’s not cooking tonight. Do we have any frozen pizza?”
You fell right back into a comfortable state when Harley arrived, ready to rely on him for anything. That wasn’t a way you felt when you were dating Peter. He was glad to see the weight lifted off your shoulders.
You passed Harley at the door and he smiled awkwardly at Peter before following you.
Peter stood there for a moment, silently mourning the love he lost, and headed for the barn with the other avengers.

Look After You
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary ~ You are Steve and Bucky’s daughter and they find out about your self harm and depression.
Warnings ~ Self harm, suicidal thoughts, depression, bullying, mentions of abuse, swearing.
Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes have been your dads since you were 5. They found you in a HYDRA base, alone, cold, beaten. So they took you in and treated you like their own. After you adjusted to your new life, they decided to adopt you. Your life was perfect until 10 years later.
You couldn’t remember when it first started, but you were getting bullied at school no one knew not even your dads. You would come into school and hear abuse being shouted at you and would also see it on your phone.
Your family could tell that you weren’t yourself anymore. Once school was over you would go straight to your room and wouldn’t say anything to you aunts and uncles. Your dads were concerned more than anything. They tried to talk to you but you isolated your self from everyone.
“Have you noticed something off about Y / N recently ?” Bucky asks his husband making his way to their bed. Steve signs and lays down next to the brunette “I’ve noticed it for weeks now, I thought it was girl problems but it’s something else.” They both look at each other sadly trying to think about what’s going on.
While your dads try to figure it out, you’re sat at your window watching the stars while holding a sharp knife. It’s the knife you always carry around with you in case of an emergency but now it’s used for something else.
You can hear thousands of voices in your head screaming at you. Tears stream down your face as you cry quietly so that no one can hear you. You begin to cut. You can feel the relief in you. You lean your head against the wall and thinking about ending it. You move the knife towards your wrist when you hear your door open.
“Y / N WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING ?!” You look up at your dads with tears streaming down your face you try to speak but nothing comes out instead you drag the knife towards your stomach.
Bucky rushes over to you and grabs the knife out your hands and pulls you on his lap so that your facing his chest.
“LET ME GO DAD LET ME GO.” You try to fight him off but your too weak, you attempt to kick him punch him hit him but he just holds you. You start to sob loud enough that everyone is awake. Steve shouts for Bruce and comes over to you.
“Hey hey sweetheart it’s okay Bruce is going to take a look at your arm okay baby ? It’s okay me and dad are here.” You can feel Bucky crying into your head. After a couple of minutes you begin to fall asleep you can feel Bucky picking you up in a bridal style taking you to med bay.
You groan as the light shines in your eyes. You look around the room to see a bandage over your arms and hand cuffs on your feet and hands. You look over to your side and see you dads looking at you sadly.
“Hey baby doll how do you feel ?” You can see that Bucky has been crying but don’t mention it. “ W - what happened?” Steve comes over and strokes your head. “We found you in your room, you were going to stab yourself and we noticed that your arms were bleeding so we rushed you to med bay. We didn’t know how you would react when you woke up so that’s why your restrained.” You can feel your eyes water as you turn away from your dads. “Why didn’t you tell us baby, we could have helped you ?”
You still don’t look at them but respond “You’re never here anymore. You’re always on missions and when you are here it’s like you don’t want me around. You only noticed what was going on because people told you, if they hadn’t then it would have worked.” Bucky and Steve look at each other is disappointment and guilt.
“Baby -
“Please leave me alone.” Steve and Bucky look at you sadly and attempt to try to speak to you.
Bucky comes over to you and squats down so that he can see you. “Baby doll i’m so sorry. I’m sorry if we haven’t been there for you. I’m sorry that we went on so many missions. I’m sorry you felt like that. I’m sorry for not being your dad. But remember this me and Steve love you from the bottom of our hearts okay ? I’m sorry this is the way you had to tell us how you were feeling. We are going to help you okay ? No one else just us three.”
Steve begins to take the cuffs off and lays down next to you and makes room for Bucky. They both hold you and whisper sweet nothings in your ears.
“I’m sorry baby girl.” Steve whispers to you.

Round 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda under the cut
Shiv Roy
She's honestly kind of a canonical victim of yaoi almost. She and her husband Tom have a loveless marriage but never end up getting divorced. Tom has a weird psychosexual obsession with Shiv's cousin Greg and at one point literally compares them all to the time Emperor Nero pushed his wife down the stairs and then castrated and married a slave boy named Sporus (Tom is unwell). Anyway the show just ended and long story short Tom is now CEO of Shiv's family's evil company and she is reduced to being his pregnant wife (which is the result of her voting not to authorize either of her brothers as CEO in order to save them from themselves) and Tom made another weird comment about literally owning Greg. And now people who ship Tom and Greg are like "omg it's canon we won" but I don't. Think that they did. Sorry I'm rambling it was just a really good finale idek if this counts but
I will be honest I'm not really tuned into the tomgreg fandom, but tons of people wanted tom to leave shiv and get with greg and tons of people thought shiv was the devil incarnate and refused to see any nuance in her character and I don't think those two things are a coincidence.
She gets a lot of hate from fans, largely just for being a woman who reacts in a non pretty way to abuse and for doing the exact same shitty stuff her brothers do. But also a large part of the hate she gets comes from the people who ship her husband with her cousin. To the point where people claim she's abusing her husband who views her as an accessory, a baby factory, and a ticket to money. Don't get me wrong, their relationship is incredibly toxic and unhealthy, but it is so on both of their parts. But Shiv's the only one who gets criticized for it
Peggy Carter
She’s a victim of Stucky mainly bc of the way marvel used her to give Steve an ooc ‘happy ending, but I know I’ve seen some posts calling her toxic or something it was 2019 so In CAT:FA, she’s introduced as a confident British agent. She has some chemistry w Steve Rogers (although more fans (on tumblr at least) preferred Steve and Bucky). She wasn’t just *woman who is strong*, but also had some emotional depth, with an actual range of emotion outside of angry and sad. She had a spin-off show, and she just continued to fight Russians and misogynists, even having chemistry in an almost wlw relationship and an eventual marriage to a famous shield agent. She went through character development and just was an awesome character. Then you know what endgame does? It has Steve Rogers travel back in time and take all of that development away. Most fans were mad at Marvel, and a lot were mad at Steve, but some fans threw Peggy completely under the bus, saying that they traded the (fanon?) queer ship/(canon) friendship for a bland love interest, which, um, she was so much more then that? I remember people really disliking Peggy, which isn’t fair to her character when she is/was so much more then that.
Peggy is vilified by people who ship Steve with his war comrade Bucky Barnes. I’ve even seen people claiming baselessly that she was secretly HYDRA the whole time.
She gets in the way of stucky which OBVIOUSLY gives people, most of them women themselves, the right to be ridiculously misogynistic. Dismissing her character arc, traits, presence in the movies and her part in Steve Roger's life, saying she is insignificant on the ground of very subjective readings is one thing, but outright calling her 'just some old coochie', among other colourful, wonderful things, is another. They also keep reaching to villainize her (saying she's a literal nazi which she's not) and cancel her so their ship is somehow made more valid for it, erasing the competition as it were.

Hide n seek (Stucky)
Tumblr media
warning(s); DDLG relationship,polyamory,sweetheart Tony<3
Pairing(s); Daddy! Steve Rogers X little! Fem! Reader X Daddy! Bucky Barnes!
Summary; it was a request and I accidentally deleted it. Hide n seek with the avengers and maybe she hides with one of them and they fall asleep together, they can’t find you and start to panic but then they do and it’s just fluff- if I Remember it correctly:D
A/n; Tony immediately came to Mind with this request, Steve and Bucky are her daddies though, now I’ll take a few days and post regular scheduled fanfics and then have another day of just requests <3
••••••••••••
When Steve an Bucky first took you and introduced you everyone was very kind to you, of course some people had to warm up to you. One of those people being Tony,he wasn’t the best with kids to begin with but he tried to be considerate around you. He’d bring you new toys or have special coloring books set aside for you, he didn’t know it but he was probably your favorite.
“One..” you smiled when daddy began counting “come with me” Tony whispered before lifting you up, he quickly walked down the hallway and into a empty room. “Hey, Jarvis close off this room, only with permission can they enter.” “On it boss” Jarvis replied. “Isn’t that cheating?” You asked and Tony chuckled “well they shouldn’t have done it inside my technology based compound.” You giggled.
Tony quickly grabbed some of the cushions from the couch in there and laid them out on the ground “Cmon, now we wait” he patted the seat next to him and you plopped down. “I like this place” you said and Tony smiled “oh yeah?” You nodded “it’s very pretty, and the robots are nice” Tony chuckled “yeah they are” you sighed and laid onto his chest.
Tony stiffened, you’d never been this close with him before, he didn’t really know how to react. “Why do you wear so many shirts?” You asked and Tony tilted his head to look at you. “Oh well, my heart isn’t exactly like other peoples I can get cold really easily” he explains and you snuggle closer “I’ll keep you warm!!” You said wrapping yourself around him. Tony couldn’t fight the smile that appeared.
“Yeah, thank you Sweets” you smiled at him before yawning. “Here” Tony lifted the paci you had clipped to your shirt and you opened your mouth for him to sit it inside. You sucked against the silicone rubbing at your eyes. “It’s okay close your eyes sweets” you nodded and closed your eyes drifting to sleep.
Tony checked his watching seeing it was after 3 no wonder you were sleepy, nap time. Tony wanted to kick himself for not realizing sooner it was so close to your nap time. “Jarvis can you keep this rooms air off please?” “Yes sir” Jarvis replied. Soon though Tony found himself falling asleep, you were snuggled so close and you were so warm.
Meanwhile Bucky had found everyone, except you and Tony, everyone was helping him look but you were no where to be found. “It’s after 3 you don’t think she’s fell asleep somewhere do you?” Steve shook his head “she can’t sleep without Mr hops so I doubt it” Bucky sighed. “But she never lasts this long, she hears us and comes out” he explained. “We’ll find her Buck don’t worry” Sam assured him as they continued to look.
It had been a hour now, it was no longer a game each of them ran through the compound calling out your name to no response. “Jarvis, where’s Tony?” Nat asked “he’s in study room 1” nat booked it down the hall and went to enter but the door was locked. “Jarvis, open the door” “No can do, permission needed to access.” By now steve was next to her. “What? Permission- why do we need that?” Steve asked and nat laughed “because it’s Tony, he’s playing dirty.”
It took only a matter of minutes for the rest of the team to be knocking on the door no response. “Shit- wait” Steve stood back “Jarvis emergency, code pink unlock all doors” Jarvis beeped and the door unlocked.
Code pink was a code Tony designed for you incase you ever got locked into a room and couldn’t get out.
“Oh my god” Wanda fawned and it didn’t take long to see why, you were curled up next to Tony you both snoozing soundly. “No wonder there was no response.” Clint said and Bucky and Steve smiled. “At least she’s safe” Bucky sighed “Yeah, and she’s napping” Steve added.
Tony grunted blinking sleep from his eyes as he woke, seeing the team standing around you two staring. “What’s your problem?” Tony asked. “Nothing! It’s just cute” pepper defended and Bucky nodded. “Yeah, you must be pretty special for her to not need her stuffie to sleep” Tony shrugged “it’s no big deal.”
Oh it so was, it totally was for him. To know he was special to you. That he mattered to you. That you trusted him like that.
Bucky carefully lifted you up and carried you back into the living room laying you on the couch, pillow under your head and and blanket draped over you.

Hey people write Steve in character challenge GO
(warning long ass post ahead, character analysis turned Civil War analysis BC I'll never shut up about that movie)
Right off the bat, Steve isn't and has never been a rule follower. Steve has an extremely strong moral compass, he has the strongest feeling of right and wrong and he is going to go after the right thing even if he's told not too. This is so prevalent in ANY captain America movie.
Why he behaves so seriously would also come from how he grew up. He wasn't taken seriously ever due to his size and his health, if he wasn't loud and clear on what he thought, no one would be paying attention. But to be honest, I think the movies kinda do him wrong when showing he isn't serious outside of battle, he's always coping with some kind of fight or dilemma or stressful situation to be fixed, especially with the role of leader on his shoulders it's his job to take it seriously. On the rare occasions we do see him relaxed we can see he's just a calm and polite guy who's just maybe a little quiet in big groups. (Which would also be a product of his pre-serum days. In big groups no one's paying attention to the little guy)
I think a reason he's misconstrued as an asshole (aside from needing to be used as a plot point in a fic) is because of how he reacts in a battle. He's stern and being the leader of the group, is telling people what to do in the heat of battle. He takes problems seriously and looks at them from a very logical stand point, (again, which is his role as the leader) which is such a VAST fucking contrast from Tony who still thinks of problems from a logical stand point too but tries to find humor in every situation, even the world ending issues.
So it makes sense if you much prefer Tony's type of character, that you aren't going to like the way Steve handles problems, which is the opposite method of Tony's emotionally.
I think the first movie really enforced that divide between Tony and Steve fans with how opposing they were. And even with Age Of Ultron to clear the air, Civil War threw out all of the relationship we were supposed to believe they had.
If I'm being honest, on Marvel's behalf, I don't think they did a very good job in enforcing that Steve and Tony were good friends before Civil War. But it will always and forever be crazy to me that Tony would ever consider himself as close of a friend with Steve as Bucky is.
"I was your friend too"
He says like he was there when no one would listen to Steve, like he was there when no one took Steve seriously. Like he was there when Steve was sick all the time. Like he was there when Steve's mother died and he had no one. Like he was there for Steve when he got into fights he couldn't handle. Bucky was there since day one.
It links back to steve wishing to have someone who 'understood his experience' the ENTIRE catws movie being about how important Bucky is to Steve and Steve being willing to let Bucky KILL him to prove how much he cared. TONY AND STEVE NEVER HAD THAT CONNECTION.
And I know that's the point. I know that's the point of the movies, Bucky being the thing Steve is willing to leave the avengers for, the avengers who have been his new family in his time where he knows no one in a new world. But when I see people saying Steve betrayed Tony I just don't understand. Bucky means SO much more to Steve. And technically yes, the Avengers were all certainly helpful when he needed it, they were definitely important to him too, but they just don't compare to Bucky.
And quick side note, don't get me wrong, if someone killed my parents I'd want them dead too. It's not like I blame Tony's immediate reaction to the information but to look me in the eyes and say Tony had the right to, is ridiculous. Bucky was tortured and brainwashed and forced to kill and do what he did. That is an innocent man.

MASTERLIST OF THE STORY
Chapter 54: The plan.
Loki and Y/N looked at each other and nodded. Then they entered the cell.
“Hi Sarah.” Y/N said.
“Y/N,” Sarah seemed surprised to see her. “What… What are you doing here?”
“You were right. About Sigyn.”
“How did you-”
“It doesn't matter.” She cut her off. “What matters is what you know.”
“I don't know that much…” Sarah said, clearly lying.
“Sarah… Ingrid. I know you are scared, not only for you but for your son. I promise you, we will protect the both of you. But you need to help us, otherwise we won't be able to.”
The woman seemed to ponder about it for a few moments before she sighed and opened her mouth to speak.
“Before I say anything, where is Jeremiah?”
“He's with us, we are all taking care of him. He is alright, just misses his mother.” Sarah seemed to be saddened at that. “Maybe we can bring him here tomorrow, for a little visit.”
“Thank you.” Y/N's expression softened.
“No problem.”
Sarah sighed.
“The person who first contacted my parents about the organization was her. Everything was her. The thing is… she needed a face. And she offered my parents enough money to make it worth it. That happened when I was about four or five.” Loki and Y/N listened attentively. “Ever since I can remember she has been saying that one day she was going to do it.” She looked at Y/N. “One day she was going to get rid of her ungrateful sister, her undeserving sister. Of course I only found out that the sister was you when you came into this universe.”
“So, you've known the whole time who I was?” Y/N asked her.
“Yes.” She looked guilty. “It was all part of the plan. Befriend you, then betray you. Make her look like the hero when she attempted to sacrifice herself to fight us.”
“So, she never got hurt?”
“It was all an illusion.”
Y/N felt her heart sink. She had done it on purpose, she made her worry on purpose. She had listened to everything she said and didn't even care. She was a two-faced liar.
“Darling?”
“I'm fine.” She shook her head. “I just can't… believe it. I mean, I do believe it but I just can't believe it.”
He grabbed her hand and squeezed, and she smiled softly at him. Then he got closer to her ear.
“It is not your fault.” He said in a low voice, so only she would hear. Y/N pursed her lips and nodded.
“So how…is she planning to get rid of her sister?” She asked, biting her lip nervously after.
“All the enhanced individuals, she's planning to use them for war.”
“But we already rescued them and the workers all left or died.”
“No Y/N, the workers are the enhanced individuals, they are the ones with a part of her powers, the people you rescued were just people caught in the crossfire. And they didn't leave, they just pretended they did.”
“So she has an army of enhanced individuals who have the power of Sigyn of Asgard. Great, just fantastic.” She said sarcastically.
“You need to kill her.”
“What?!” She widened her eyes. “No, I just… we will just imprison her.”
“She will never stop, you need to kill her.” Sarah told her. “You need to use the dagger of death. You have to kill a god.”
————————————
“So, that’s what Sarah said. Ingrid, sorry.” She shook her head.
“What is a dagger of death?” Steve asked.
“It is an old Asgardian relic,” Thor told him and the rest of the avengers that were in the meeting room, “but it burned in Ragnarok.”
“Can’t we just get another one?” Y/N asked.
“It was forged in Nidavellir and enchanted by our sister, the goddess of death, Hela.” Loki answered her.
“And Hela is…” Steve began saying, waiting for one of the Asgardian brothers to finish.
“Dead… in Hel.” Loki told him.
Everyone sat there in silence, until Y/N broke it.
“Guys, this might sound very stupid but… has any of you watched Lucifer the tv show?”
Everyone stayed silent and she took that as a no.
“What does that have to do with anything?” Natasha asked.
“I might have a plan.”

AN.: Just another thingy that came to my mind.

Tumblr media
-WHAT THE HELL TONY? - asked Steve furiously.
-Rogers... I know she's your daughter. I know you lost her mother in a mission. But we also know that she inherited the serum in your veins, and in fact she's one of the best around here. It's about time she goes on a mission. - states Tony calmly.
-I'm not gonna lose her. If it means i have to get her fired from the team i will, but you sure as hell won't send her on any damn missions...
You stopped, and the smile that previously graced your face had fallen. You just finished sparring with Nat, and were on your way to the briefing, but seems like your dad caught word of your upcoming mission, and thought to put some words in... Tony's eyes flickered behind Steve, seeing the disappointment on your face. You clearly heard that your own father would be willing to get you fired. Effectively destroying all your hard work since you were little, and possibly your relationship with him as well..
The rest of the team started to fill the room as you first made eyecontact with your dad, he tried to say something, but you weren't gonna hear any of it. You turned on your heels, and ran. Or at least you tried, cause as the elevator opened, you collided with a hard chest. You apologized, eyes on the floor, when you heard your dad's best friend's concerned voice.
-Are you all right (Y/n)?
-Sure i am Buck. - was all you said, suddenly hearing your father calling for you. The elevator wasn't fast enough, so you opted for the stairs, asking FRIDAY to lock all the doors to the staircase, except for the P1, parking area's. You wanted to get away from there.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
-(Y/n), Honey, wait.. IT' NOT.... - Steve tried to talk to you, but you ran.
-What did you do again punk? - Bucky asked his friend.
-Tony wanted to send her on the mission with Nat and Sam and You, but you know.. i just.. she must have heard some stuff i said... and just... - he blabbered.
-What did you say huh?
-That i'd rather have her fired than let her go on a mission... I can't lose her too Buck.. i can't..
-I know punk, but on the other hand that girl started fighting before even learning how to talk... She also has the serum... You know she is more than ready and capable. And if you think any of us would let anything happen t o her... then i don't know what else to say.. - Bucky said dropping a supporting hand on Steve's shoulder, giving it a squeeze.
Nobody saw you for the remainder of the day. You went to the club that was farthers from the tower, making sure noone of the team ever went there. You were sitting at the bar, sipping your fifth whiskey when there was a poke on your arm, asking for your attention.
As you turned, you saw a cocky looking guy, with a shit eating grin.
-I never saw any woman holding herself this well after 4 whiskey.. - he said looking you over. -The name is Rumlow.
You finished your drink. Before noting that it was your 5th drink, as you stood up, deciding it was time for you to leave. Ransom caught you by your wrist, twirling you back to him, his other hand flying for your waist, keeping you close to him.
-Where are you running sweetheart. I was just trying to get to know you... - he said still grinning.
You rolled your eyes before twisting his free hand, nearly breaking it.
-Now, now. You'll get your filthy hand off my waist. - you smiled at him. Before you could continue, you heard a cough behind you, then another hand snaked around your shoulder, a familiar scent hitting your nose.
-Honey, is everything alright? Sorry for taking too long, the traffic was a nightmare. -Bucky stated before giving a kiss on your cheek. Well this makes it easier. You won't need to beat this asshole up after all.
Before you could react, the creep started to talk.
-Well i like a stong handed woman for sure.. As for you my man... I watched your pretty little thing from afar for the past few hours... The traffic shouldn't be that bad at 11 pm after all... I'm guessing you have a side chick as well don't you.. - his eyes flicker to you, trying t o see if he's getting under your skin, and to be honest, you knew Bucky was only your father's best friend, and probably thought of you like a daughter... but you could help but feel a pang in your chest when you imagined Bucky in some woman's arms. -Uh oh.. i hit a nerve there sweetheart, didn't i? -Rumlow asked, reaching for your waist once again, but this time, Bucky twirled you away, tucking you to his side safely before punching Rumlow straight in the face, before turning around, dragging you outside with himself.
-I had it under control... - you muttered under your nose.
-No doll you did not... Do you have any idea who is that man?
-No i don't.. but seems like you're just like dad. Not believing in my skills in the slightest. - you said, as you shoved his arm off of you, trutting away to the opposite of his bike. He just sighed. It wasn't the reason he stepped in at all.. At first he wanted to find you to reassure you that they talked to your father, and you can go to the mission after all.. But then he saw Rumlow's hand around your waist, and he acted without thinking. A strange possessiveness came over him, his mind only focusing on getting you away from the stranger. Now all he could do is sigh at your retreating form.
He got on his bike, to catch up with you, but you didn't even look at him.
-Doll, hop on, i'll take you back..
-No need Buck, perfectly capable of walking.
-It would took 2 hours even with the serum to walk back, hop on.
You looked at him, knowing he wouldn't let it go, so you sighed defeated, and got on behind him, snaking your hands around him. He would never admit it out loud, but he loved when you did that. He loved your faint perfume sneaking it's way into his nose and his heart. Steve would surely kill him if he'd know how many times he had to stop sparring with you lately, running to the showers to cool himself down, or how many times he had to adjust himself in secret when he was over at you and Steve's floor and you walked into the kitchen in only a big white dress shirt of your dad's, and your hair in a messy bun.
When you got back, your dad was standing in the middle of the shared living room. Face showing he was worried sick for the past few hours. He ran up to you as soon as the elevator opened, engulfing you in a big hug, muttering sorries as he held you close. You just stood there without moving a muscle.
-You... you can go to the mission.. i.. i can't keep you locked up when you're one of the best around here... Sam, Bucky and Nat will be there too... i shouldn't worry... i just... - he stammered, looking guilty.
-Mom.. i know.. but that one accident doesn't mean that you can undermine all my years of training... and that goes for you too... - you turned, showing a finger to Bucky's chest before heading off to your room, shutting the door with a loud thud.
-Just like her ma... - Bucky snorted.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The mission was quite simple. Abandoned HYDRA building, in needing of a good swipe, then making it equal with the ground. You and Nat starting from the top to the ground, the guys starting from the basements, heading upwards.
It wasn't empty as they thought it will be, but it wasn't anything you couldn't handle. You were fighting off 2 men, when you heard a loud bang. They tried to crash the top floor on you and Nat, one side of the building already collapsing. Nat were caught up falling with the debris, and you quickly grabbed her hand, yanking her up t the remaining floor.
-Thanks (Y/n).. - she said, as you started to hear Bucky's and Sam's concerned voice over your comms. You looked at Nat rolling your eyes as she started to laugh.
-Nobody is injured dad, stop your shit. - Mocking Bucky in the meantime - How's things down there? They are collapsing the top floors on us. - Nat stated.
-Swiped, we are 2 floors under you two. Meet in the middle in 10. -Sam answered as Nat went to check another room not too far away.
There was another door you didn't check. You stepped in cautiously, when someone shut it behind you, strangling you with a wire. A woman stepped before you, holding a knife to your neck, smiling wickedly, walking close in her heels, touching the comms in your ear, as you heard your teammates asking for you, before she whispered into it seductively.
-Tell Rogers i have his little girl.. She will suffer the consequences if he doesn't met my demands. - She smiled in the camera in the corner, knowing full well the rest of the team were able to hear and see the scene over at the tower, before smashing the handle of her knife into your temple, knocking you out, making you go limp in the arms of the man.
They took you into a secret basement, before speeding away in a secret tunnel. When you regained consciousness you found yourself strapped to a chair. The place seemed eerily matching the one where they tortured Bucky years back.
-Oh the little birdy is awake.. - she smiled at you walking closer.
-What do you want? - you spat.
-Oh honey, i want your dad back... We had quite fun times before you and your mom came along... I can't believe i had to wait 24 years to have you too...
-You were the one that killed her... making her leave her husband and her 2 year old child... - the realization hit you.
-Bingo honey, and now that i have you too, there is nothing stopping me... But you see, it would be just way too easy to kill you and be done with it... After 24 years, i want your dear daddy to suffer... I'm sure you saw this chair in the Winter Soldier's files... We're gonna erase your little mind, until you simply won't remember any of them... then, you're gonna kill them off one by one for me, leaving dear daddy for last... Nobody crosses Peggy Carter.. - she smiled again, before having one of her men setting up a camera in front of you.
-Say hi to daddy. - she singed, as they hit the record button, and she started shocking you, making you scream out in pain.
The avengers were shocked to see the video. It was encrypted, so they wouldn't be able to find you through it. Steve stood up, looking all over the team.
-And you all said nothing would happen to her... - he said, as he left, shutting the glass door with such force, it broke into pieces.
The rest of the team immediately started to search, and swipe every HYDRA base they could in search for you, with no luck so far.
A week later they recieved another video, showing your beaten up face, you ad various cuts over you as well.. She didn't stop at the electrocuting.. She wanted you to suffer, and wanted the team to see it. Both your arms were cut deeply, blood slowly dripping from it, as she electrocuted you again. You couldn't even scream anymore. Then the video cut to Peggy smiling.
-Honey, it is about time you come back to me.. We can use our little bird here to take care of the rest of your team.. that is if you ever wanna see her again.. -Then the camera cut back to you, barely breathing, lump in the chair.
Bucky's heart broke at the sight. He knew what kinda pain you were in. And they even hurt you further.. If you ever make it out of this alive, he'll never let you out of his sight...
Bruce barged in with his laptop.
-I found where they send the videos from.. - he informed the team. Before they could set up a plan they needed to know how many HYDRA agents are in there. It was no question that everybody will go to this mission. They connected to their security system, now having access to every room in the building. That's when they saw you. You were wincing through the pain as you tried to get yourself out of that fucking chair.
Bucky silently prayed that you'll make it out.
The plan was in motion, they were sweeping the rooms one by one, trying to find where exactly they hold you. Without Steve cause his nerves would be a huge mistake factor right now... That's when Bucky heard commotion from the far corner. When he bursted the door open, he saw you, bleeding from your wounds, limping, to the wall, to sink down on in, sitting on the floor. Then he saw Peggy, in the chair, lifeless, with a knife in her chest, basically pinning her to the chair.
He ran to you, hands cupping your face, searching for any sign that you did not forgot him.
-Buck - you whispered, your voice breaking as you looked into his eyes.
-Yes doll, i'm here, it will be alright, you are incredible. - he said as he kissed you on the lips, before gathering you in his arms, keeping you close. You fell asleep in his hold, and he did not dare to put you down on the jet either. He only did when he arrived in the medbay of the tower, but even then he didn't leave your side.
The door of the roomn bursted open as Steve ran in, tears falling, as he held your limp hand in his. Quietly thanking Bucky for saving you.
-It wasn't me. - Bucky said with a sigh, clenching his jaw.
-What? -Steve's eyes shot up.
-I didn't save her. When i arrived Peggy was pinned to the chair with a knife, lifeless. It was her. She overcame it. She is stronger than any of us Steve.
Steve's eyes shot to you, scars already healing, the wounds you had already closed thanks to the serum. He kissed the back of your hand, hoping you'd wake up.
And later that night you did. You were in a dark room, machines beeping, making sure your vitals are fine. Your dad holding your hand, his head on your bed as he slept beside you on a chair. He must have fallen asleep there. Then your eyes went to your other side, moonlight slowly illuminating Bucky's smiling face. He was relieved. He stood up, gently caressing your head and pressing a kiss on it, before leaving the room. The door closing woke up Steve, who squeezed your hand as the tears started the fall again.
-I thought i'm gonna loose you kid.. - he said hugging you.
-They'll gonna have to try harder than this... - you smiled as you carefully hugged him back.
-You are so incredible.. I can't believe i ever doubted you for a second.. My fears took the best of me... I'm so so sorry honey...
-I understand your fears dad... I just.. I work 10 times harder every time, i want to make you proud.. and you never let me prove myself..
-It will change now baby.. you just need to get well again.. i promise i'll try hard to change my old ways okay? ...
-Thank you dad. - you said.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
And then it really changed. Three weeks later you were sparring with Nat again. Life was back to somewhat normal, you were getting ready for a mission with her. The only thing bothering you was the fact that Bucky avoided you. As soon as you were in t he same room as him, he basically ran out. You were annoyed by this. You didn't recollect anything that you might have offended him with. But you had no way of asking him.
Sam walked up to your training form, stopping the boxing bag from swinging from your last hit.
-Whoa princess, who hurt you? - he said as he saw the bag completely ruined.
-Noone, i'm just frustrated. - you sighed, taking the bandage off your hands.
-Why, what happened?
-Ever since i'm back from.. you know.. Bucky seems to be avoiding me.. But i can't recall anything i said or did to offend him so... i don't know.. - you sighed again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That night Sam invited Bucky out for drinks to a nearby bar. Hoping to find something out for you. He never saw you lose your cool like that.
-We hardly see you at the tower anymore.. what's up dude? -Sam asked.
-Yea i just.. i have a lot on my mind and it doesn't help being there..
-You can talk to me you know.. Did something happen?
-Well.. i just.. you remember that i found (Y/n) slumped to a wall after killing Peggy, and carried her out and stuff?
-Yea, what about it? She is fine now, she was incredible back there.
-Yes .. um... i .. - Bucky stuttered.
Sam sat up straighter in his seat.
-What did you do Buck? - he asked.
-I.. i couldn't help myself.. i wanted her for the last 2 years.. i know it's wrong.. i just.. i was so proud, and glad we found her.. i.. i kissed her Sam... Now i can't look her in the eyes, nor Steve... I'm supposed to be his best friend... I should be looking at her like she's my own daughter... and for most of the time i could.. but now.. i just.. i cant.. I even thought about quitting..
-Jesus Dude... - Sam sighed - Firstly, there's no way you'll quit. Second.. she has absolutely no clue why are you avoiding her, but is sure affects her.. She ripped a boxig bag apart today.. And lastly... The heart wants what it wants.. I'm sure if anyone would be to court (Y/n) Steve would be glad if it's someone he knows he can trust... I heard he K.O.-d Rumlow when he dared to ask if he can date her..
-Yea well, i wouldn't wanna be knocked out thank you.. And what do you mean she doesn't know.. I mean.. she called my name.. she kissed me back. - Bucky didn't understood.
-Well you'll need to talk to her to figure that out..
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was late at night, you were sure your dad was asleep. You were tossing and turning in bed unable to sleep. You had this reoccurring dream since You killed Peggy. AT first it was just Bucky kissing you, then every night it went further and further, it became more passionate. You didn't understand why, and you were sometimes even glad that he avoided you lately. It helped keeping whatever this was under control. Sparring with him would surely kill you. You touched yourself, imagining it was him touching you. You shouldn't be thinking about him this way, but in the comfort of your own room you let yourself. Your breathing became uneven as you neared your climax as you thought about him bending you over the kitchen counter, or pushing you up the wall of his shower.. Small whimpers left you as you came. Sighing that sadly these fantasies were probably all you'll get.. You should find someone to help ease these urges.. Not as your dad would let you.. but your were 26... You needed something c'mon. The opening of your door startled you as you wiped the sweat off your forehead. For once you were thankful that you kept your panties and the henley you stole from Bucky before the mission.
-Sorry i heard your heart punding fast, and the whimpers, i thought you were having a nightmare... - Bucky said, as he slowly turned to leave seeing you weren't having a nightmare.
-Buck, stop.. - you pleaded. - Why are you avoiding me? Did i do something?
He shut your door then turned around sighing, looking at the ground.
-No you didn't.. I did.. and .. i ... I kissed you okay? I know it wasn't right, and it is unrecruited.. but i .. i was so happy you were alive.. i was so happy i didn't lose you... - he babbled as your finger shot up to caress your lower lip as you sat up in your bed.
-So it.. it wasn't a dream? You did kiss me? - you asked.
-Yes doll.. and i'm so fucking sorry... Listen i'll quit.. and .. i'll ... - he went to say but you interrupted him.
-Well i'm not sorry... - you whispered now looking at your crossed feet on your bed.
-Wait.. what? - he asked, not understanding.
-I.. i know you're dad's best friend.. and i know you practically watched me grow up.. but lately i ... i don't know Bucky.. I don't understand why or how.. but ever since that night at the HYDRA base i kept having these dreams... It started with you just kissing me once... and now you say that one wasn't a dream...
-You had other dreams? - he whispered sitting on your bed and searching for your eyes.
You were embarassed now, and were glad for the darkness of your room as you nodded not looking him in the eye. He was curious now. He never seen you this shy. He hooked a finger under your chin, making you look at him in the eye as he asked.
-What did you dream about doll? -his voice was so low, almost like a growl.
-I.. um.. well first you just kissed me.. then it slowly went further and further every night... - you tried to look away from him, but he didn't let you.. He leaned closer until his next question was only whispered on your lips.
-So that's what i've heard just now.. You were touching yourself thinking about those dreams? - you felt embarassed again, but if he didn't let you look away, you'll just close your eyes... Then you bit your lip before nodding as you felt his finger trace down your neck slowly.
He sucked a bit of air in seeing your answer, he felt himself already hardening just at the thought. He pressed a featherlight kiss on your lips, testing the waters. When he moved away you whimpered and moved after him, taking a hold of his hand. When you looked him in the eye you weren't sure what you saw. It was as hearing your words, and kissing you was all he ever wanted, but as he hated it at the same time.
-I shouldn't be doing this doll... God knows it's all i ever wanted but.. i shouldn't... Steve... - he said, making you sigh.
-He didn't wanted me to be an avenger either.. I am a grown woman and can make decisions myself wether he likes it or not.. But if it makes you this conflicted then just go... -you said as you turned your back to him, hiding yourself into your pillows and blanket.
He sighed and left. As he closed the door he heard your sniffles... he knew he fucked up big time...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next two weeks it was you who avoided him. If he couldn't see you the grown woman you are, he isn't deserving of your thoughts and never was. Tonight most of the team were going to your usual pub to dance and drink. It wasn't often that most of you were in the compound at the same time without the world needed to be saved. You were dancing with Thor as your dad and Bucky arrived. Bucky glanced at you then turned his head... You hated him and had every right to.. At least Thor didn't care about Steve... he thought as he clenched his jaw.
Steve just sighed as he sipped his beer.
-When did she grow up? I can't keep worrying about the time she'll come home with someone who will take her away... I can only hope we showed her what kinda guy she should go for.. - he smiled.
Bucky just clenched his jaw again, angrily sipping his beer.
-I would be most glad if she'd came home with someone like you Buck, then i'd know she'd be in good hands and protected and stuff.. - Steve said not looking at Bucky, instead of looking at you dancing with Thor.
Bucky's eyes shot to you, as Thor whispered something into your ear making you throw your head back laughing.
-Yea well... let's hope he doesn't fuck it up.. like i did. - he says, only whispering the last part, making sure Steve did not hear it.
Steve sips his beer, looking at his friend then you, then Bucky again. He saw the pain in Bucky's eyes as Thor's hands were snaking around your waist, holding you closer. It took everything in him to tore his eyes away from you, so he didn't see when you looked at him, before leaving him on the dancefloor alone as you went to search for Nat.
Steve smirked. He knew this game, your mother did the same when he fucked up.
Now he understood the rest of the team... Just this afternoon they were making bets about how much time would it take a certain someone to rip Thor off of you, as he was the only one who dared to do this, possibly angering your father as well. The certain someone was Bucky for sure.
YOu were back, grinding against Thor, your back to his chest, as his hands rested on your hips, while he whispered sweet nothings in your ear while secretely looking at Bucky, making you smirk. At least that's what he thought. He ordered a whiskey and downed it in one go.
Steve laughed, earning a look from Bucky.
-You know.. her mother did the same to me when i fucked up.. - he said smiling. - there was one time, in the very beginning, when i was a foolish teenager and couldn't decide between her and some blonde plastic chick, she got Scott to act like her new boyfriend, after two days, when he nearly kissed her after they won the football game i just couldn't keep it anymore. I marched up and knocked Scott out. Told her she is the only one i ever wanted and the only one i'll ever want...
-Yea but why do you think i... ? - asked Bucky, but got interrupted by Steve.
-Well i know her, and i know you... I see how you look at eachother... and I'm not against it you know... You're right for eachother. - he said with a fond smile looking at you, while Bucky's eyes widened. Looking at you, then looking at him, then back at you.
-Go get her tiger.. - Steve said snorting at how eager Bucky stood up and marched towards you.
Thor's hands left you as he held them up in surrender, as Bucky grabbed your face and kissed you in the middle of the dance floor passionately, making everything and everyone else disappear around you. You melt into his touch.
When he let you go, he pushed his forehead to yours and just stared into your eyes.
-Came to your right mind Buck? - you smiled.
-You could say that... i also got your papa's blessing.. - he smirked before throwing you over his shoulder and walking out of the pub, only putting you down on his bike.
When you got back at the tower, you couldn't keep your hands to yourselves. You kissed passionately until he pushed you up to his now closed door, as you snaked your legs around him, smiling. The kiss he gave you was calm, as if he was savoring it. It wasn't urgent anymore, he wanted to take his time.
-I.. it's been some time since i've done this doll... - he said, putting you down carefully.
-It's alright... we don't have to do anything you don't want to.. - you said smiling.
A smirk appeared on his face. -Shouldn't i be the one who says that doll? -making you giggle as you push him to sit down on his couch. You took a step back, biting your lip before dropping your little red dress on the floor, leaving you in your matching red lace bra and panties.
-Fuck me.... - he said looking you over as you moved to straddle him. His hands immediately went to caress up your thighs only to stop on your buttcheeks, as he hide his face in the crook of your neck, kissing you sweetly, surely leaving a mark. You throw your head back, only to hear him whisper into your neck.
-How did i get so damn lucky? - before he squeezed your butt and brought you to sit over his hard on. You nearly moaned as you felt how big he was, you started to slowly grind down on him. He stood up, with you in his hands, kissing you as he walked to his bedroom, dropping you on his bed. He towered over your body, holding your hands above you with one hand, as his other slowly wandered towards where you wanted him the most. As he started to circle your clit through the fabric of your underwear, he watched your face, admiring how responsive you were to him. When he heard your breathing become uneven he stopped, smirking down at you. Your eyes shot open as you took his hand and showed it down your panties while saying : "Don't you dare stop Barnes" earning a chuckle from him, before he started kissing down your body, lowering himself to be inbetween your legs. You felt his hot breath even through your now soaked panties. He slowly lifted a finger, hooking it under the soft fabric, pushing it to the side, before licking along your slit. The moan that left your mouth was possibly the most beautiful sound he ever heard. Your fingers found his hair and he didn't mind one bit. He added two cold, metal fingers to your needy hole as he continued licking your clit, the sensation being even better than you imagined. Soon enough you were trippling over the edge, gushing around his fingers. He lifted them to his mouth while looking you straight in the eye. He then lowered himself next to you, cuddling closer, giving you slow kiss.
-Oh no no Mr. Barnes.. we are not finished.. - you whispered between kisses.
-I don't mind.. i just wanted a taste.. - he said.
-Well too bad i want you to make me yours fully... - you said seductively, as you moved on top of him, your pussing sliding along his shaft making him shudder.
-God.... woman... you make me crazy... - he said eyes closing, as he enjoyed the little game you were playing. You continued to slide your folds up and down his shaft, before he had enough and throw you on your back, pinning your arms above your head, showing his dick deep in you with a single thrust, earning a moan from you. His other hand went to your throat as he continued to fuck you into oblivion. Your second orgasm neared as he kept pushing the spongy soft inside that made you scream. You squirted on his cock, gripping him thightly and soon enough he came inside you as you were trembling around him. After a few lingering kisses and breaths he picked you up and took you to his shower to clean you up. You giggled at how boyish he looked while doing it. He saw you looking at him, a hint of worry crossing your eyes.
-I hope you are not thinking about what i think you do doll. I want you for good. Not for a night or a month. It's not a game alright? - he said cupping your cheeks, popping a small kiss to the tip of your nose. - I want to fall asleep and wake up holding you, i want to make you happy. - he continued as he gave a little peck on your lips, before intervining his fingers with yours. You just nodded, the butterflies in your stomach making it impossible for you to speak. He gave you one of his henley-s to sleep, while he went for a simple boxer. You fell asleep on his chest, so peaceful and content... It all felt like a dream.
The next morning you woke up to the sun shining harshly in your eyes. You turned around only to find yourself being wrapped in strong arms and smushed into a strong, tiny bit hairy chest. You moaned a bit, enjoying the warmth.
You heard a light chuckle then HIS morning voice followed. Gosh this was surely your new favourite thing to hear.
-Go sleep a bit more dolly, i'm not ready to wake up and let you go. - murmured Bucky as you smiled into his chest, which slowly turned into a giggle.
-Whats so funny, huh? - he asked eyes still closed, holding you closer. You rolled on top of him, propping yourself up just enough so you can look in his eyes. His hands started to caress your sides and back lovingly under his henley as he finally opened his eyes, smiling at you.
-Does this mean i'll have two oldies forbiding me of going to missions? - you asked, still giggling. He lifted one of his eyebrows, smirk forming on his handsome face as he started to tickle you, while turning you both around, so that he was seated between your legs.
-I'll show you who's old dolly... -he said before kissing you passionately.

Seren paced back and forth in front of Chloe's hospital room. She only stopped when she heard her name and this time, for the sake of the situation, she would forgive the usage of the annoying nickname.
"Twinkle Star, how is she?" Tony did a half sprint down the hallway until he reached Seren.
"Just like she's been in the past few days, in and out. She's had to be sedated each time," Seren glanced at the open doorway of Chloe's room.
"Why?" Tony would only peek in slightly for the moment. He wanted the full story before he took a look at the residential kid.
"Because each time she's awake, she freaks out," Seren said with a sigh.
"What does she freak out about?"
Seren felt monumentally guilty each time Chloe had her breakdown as she came out of the sedatives. "We can't quite understand everything she says. She's kind of screaming and crying. The gist I would say is that she says things are so loud and, of course, she's in pain."
"Okay," Tony rubbed a finger over his nose, "What-what exactly happened? What physically happened here? Because I gotta tell you the news is all over the place, and it's all about you and your crew."
"Where do I even start?" Seren let her arms flap on her sides. "S.H.I.E.L.D. is done, Tony. It's over."
"What? What do you mean it's done? How-how is it 'done'?"
"I mean like it's gone," Seren said sharply. "More than that, SHIELD never existed. It turns out HYDRA infiltrated it the moment it was founded all those years ago." Tony's face went into shock but Seren wasn't going to give him the chance to react just yet. "Every base, every mission, was infiltrated from the start so it's very hard to tell what missions were actually funded by SHIELD and which ones were for HYDRA. We fought and then found out that Steve's supposedly dead best friend wasn't so dead in the end. In fact, he's very much alive."
"The Sargeant?" Tony's eyes widened.
Seren nodded. "HYDRA had him for 70 years, brainwashed and committing assassinations."
"Hold on—"
Seren raised a finger to him that she wasn't done yet. "And it turns out that you were right about Chloe's sketchy record with S.H.I.E.L.D. This whole time she and Fury were trying to figure out who within the place was trying to kill her. It's why she was always doing solo missions. It was a cover to be on the run."
"HYDRA?" Tony took the only logical guess.
"Ding-ding, point for Stark," Seren muttered. "They had a second Hivemind tech piece that they implanted on her. I had to fight her—I burned her hand to try to get the tech out of her palm. We fought S.H.I.E.L.D. until it crumbled to the ground. It's gone and now here we are, left picking up the pieces we care about."
Tony's head turned towards Chloe's room. "I see. And the Sargeant? Where's he now?"
Seren shrugged her shoulders. "Your guess is as good as mine. He pulled Steve out of the river and took off. He didn't say a word to me."
"Why would he? You're nothing to him," Tony said matter-of-factly, missing the way Seren glared at him for it. He walked into Chloe's room, leaving her to follow. "Where's Rogers right now?"
"Three rooms down that way," Seren jerked a thumb over her shoulder. "He's getting better but he still needs some more time."
"And you? Don't you, like, hate these places?" Tony made a gesture to the room.
"Yeah, and I'm trying really hard to forget about it right now," Seren said. "Having my best friend and my boyfriend in here kind of helps to forget."
"Boyfriend?" Tony flashed Seren a smirk. "'Bout damn time. Congratulations."
"Knock it off, Tony," Seren rolled her eyes, subtly trying to hide her blush by turning her head. "Chloe needs help and right now I think you're the only one who can give that to her. I don't trust anyone else."
Tony turned towards Chloe's bed and approached her. "Oh Megamind, what did they do to you?" He whispered upon seeing the remnants of blue lines marking her face and arms. "How long was I gone?"
"Tony, I beg you to take this seriously," Seren came to the foot of the bed.
"You have no idea how serious I've been taking this," Tony glanced at her. "Chloe and I have been working together for 2 years now."
"Yeah, she told me," Seren said quietly, later adding in a mutter, "Trusted you a lot more than she did me."
"It's not like that, Twinkle Star. She didn't want to worry you while you were off in London-town."
Seren waved it off. "Can you help her?"
"Let's hope so," Tony said. He studied Chloe's burnt hand wrapped in gauze. "That's the hand where the tech is?"
"Was," Seren corrected. At Tony's questioning look, she sighed. "Barnes took it."
"Hold on, what?" Tony made a face. "I thought you said he took off."
"And he did...with the second tech piece. When he pulled Steve out of the river, I asked him if he could do anything for Chloe's sake."
"And he did just like that?"
Seren nodded. "Yeah, I don't know why but I'm grateful that he did. He pulled the second piece out of Chloe's palm. I was so grateful that I didn't notice he left with it."
"Well that's great, we might need that!"
"Until we manage to find him, we can't count on the second piece. Can you really not do anything without it?"
"Oh no, I'm going to do something," Tony promised her, "I just don't know what exactly...yet. The only thing I know for sure is that she's coming with me."
Seren panicked when he started heading out. "What!? What do you mean!?" she chased after him in the hallway.
"If I'm going to help her, you can't expect me to do it from this place? I have a special tower, remember?"
"You finished it?" Seren heard the tale from Chloe of his construction project on what used to be Stark Tower.
"I'm a businessman, Soul. I get things done," he snapped his fingers on the side. "And it's built with a special little room called a medbed. I'll get Dr. Cho in and we'll discuss Chloe's condition and what we can do to help her."
"Doctor who?"
"Helen Cho, look her up. She's fantastic and" — he raised a finger as Seren went to argue against it — "I completely trust her. She's been working with Chloe on her situation so trust me, she's a doctor we can confide in."
Seren's lips pressed into a thin line. She was still wary of doctors in general, no matter how trustworthy others claimed them to be. "I want to meet her."
"Well of course, I'm not interested in starting a fight with an alien." Tony stopped abruptly, causing her to bump into him. He turned around just as she stumbled back. "By the way, if S.H.I.E.L.D. is down, where are you living now? Can't imagine it's back in London anymore."
"I have savings, Stark," Seren rolled her eyes. "I'm in a hotel."
"Well, if it's about your living situation—"
"Don't even," Seren cut him off, "I have a lot to think about. My parents want me to come back home and I'm actually waiting for Rebeca to call back about a possible continuation of the Worldwide Initiative project. Don't give me something new to think about."
"I was just going to offer a place at the Tower," he said with his hands raised in front of him. "Or a simple apartment in the city, at least until you get back on your feet."
"You don't have to do that for me, thanks."
"You pulled me out of space, not to mention you went into space with me. I'm always going to have a special bond with you for that," he winked at her. Seren chuckled for the first time. "Think about it, maybe talk about it with Rogers. Ask him about a proposition I told him about a while ago."
"I don't know, Stark. I actually don't know about anything these days..."
"I'm just saying," Tony said, flashing her a smile. "Go home and rest at least. I'm going to start the transfer paperwork here. I'll call you when Chloe's been moved."
Seren nodded. "Thanks."

Seren's parents had come to see her as soon as it was safe. Without cellphones, they had to come straight to the hotel she'd been staying in and quick. Seren didn't know when the funding from Rebeca's side would stop. They were still working on that. Seren was happy to see them and relieved to know that they were alright and hadn't been hurt by HYDRA.
"Oh sweetheart, I'm so sorry about everything that's happened," Liana hugged her daughter comfortingly. Seren actually relished in it; she hadn't had a lot of motherly support in the past because of SHIELD. "How is everyone?"
"I don't know about everyone," Seren said honestly. She had lost touch with most of the agents now that everyone had basically scrambled.
"Well, how about the closer ones?" Her father, Brooks, asked. "Chloe? Is she alright?"
Seren let out a noise indicating a 'no'. "She's still in the hospital. Actually, our friend Tony is going to take her to one of his places here for more help."
"Tony Stark?"
"Mhm, yeah."
"Oh, well, then Chloe will be just fine. That man's a genius," Brooks said. "No need to be worried."
Seren wished she had her father's confidence. She was terrified beyond belief thinking about the long-term effects Chloe could suffer because of this.
"What about Natasha?" Liana asked.
Seren led them to the couch where they could sit together to continue talking. "She's fine. She's always fine."
"We saw her on t.v.," Liana said with a sigh, "It's horrendous that the government wants to pin the blame on you all for the mess in the city. It's like they're ignoring the fact one of their biggest organizations turned out to be a sham."
"Turned their backs on us," Seren said bitterly. She had a profound hatred for the government for this very act. All their hard work had vanished in the face of public pressure. They wanted culprits and since HYDRA had gone underground, that left them to face the authorities.
"Don't worry, honey, we wouldn't let anyone take you away," Liana said, reaching for one of Seren's hands. Seren couldn't help a chuckle then.
"Mom, no offence, but I can take them."
"I'm your mother. I've let SHIELD take you back then and that was the worst thing I ever did." Liana looked at her husband who sat on Seren's other side. "We've regretted it for so long now."
Seren let out a sigh. "Mom, Dad, this may actually come as a surprise but...I don't regret joining SHIELD." And sure enough, both her parents wore the same confused faces. "I mean, SHIELD is where I trained, it's where I learned to be the best version of myself...at least a better version of myself. I don't need SHIELD to continue being better but...it is where I started and where I met many good people. Like Natasha, like Chloe, and Clint...and Steve. I can't regret any of that."
"It was a big part of your life," Brooks said, having accepted it like his wife. "And now...you have to say goodbye to it."
Seren still couldn't believe it. For all the anger she felt, all the resentment, she was still in shock. She had to say leave behind such a huge part of her life, if not something she had known for most of her life. The idea was scary when she got to wondering what she was supposed to do after.
"It'll be alright," Liana said as Seren fell more and more distant. "We can...we can go back home and—"
Seren snapped out of it and looked at her mother with wide eyes. "Go home?"
"Well, at least for some time."
"Mom—"
"Seren, it might help you to just relax for a few days and think about what you want to do now. And what better place than your home? Your old room?" Liana wiped a strand of Seren's hair from her forehead. "It's away from the city."
"I don't...I don't want to be alone..." Seren said, and by that she meant she didn't want to leave Steve behind. And Chloe. They needed her as much as she needed them.
"Just for some time," Liana insisted but Seren knew the idea her mother had and it just wouldn't happen. She would go home for a few days and then Liana would "drop" the idea that she move back in.
Seren didn't know what she wanted but she knew that she didn't want that. After everything, she couldn't just go back to Hudson and pretend like nothing ever happened to her.
"Chloe needs me around and Steve and I...we have some things we need to do," she explained.
"Well, Steve is welcome to stop by the house if he'd like," Brooks said and laughed at Seren's reaction. "What? You think we didn't notice?"
Seren blushed and looked straight ahead to avoid her parents' gazes. "Whatever has been said, ignore it."
Liana laughed softly. "I think it's a great idea. I'll bet if anyone needs a break, it's that man. Think about it, Seren."
Seren relented and told her parents that she would consider the idea. "Where's Atria?" she then asked, her voice laced with a tad of disdain. "I need to talk to her."
"She said she would stop by later," Liana said. "After we came out of hiding, she said you needed some time to think about things."
Seren laughed humorlessly. "Seriously? That's what she said?"
Of course since neither of her parents knew that Atria might have suspected about HYDRA's infiltration, they were very confused with Seren's apparent fallout with Atria. As far as they knew, Seren adored her grandmother. For the sake of keeping an amicable relationship between them, Seren didn't tell her parents anything. She needed to talk to Atria herself.

Seren had just finished a long call with Rebeca when she heard someone knock on her door. Before answering it, she cleared her face of any lingering tears and straightened herself up. She opened the door and came face to face with her grandmother.
"Hello, my little star soul," Atria greeted her like she always did. This time, however, Seren couldn't respond the way she usually did.
"Hello," she left the door opened for Atria and walked away.
Atria stepped into the suite and closed the door behind her. "I'm glad you're alright. Steve is alright too, I imagine. As well as the rest of your team."
"Mhm," Seren turned to face her grandmother, crossing her arms. "Well, you know, Chloe might have a thing or two to say about that — oh wait, she's not talking right now because she's unconscious...in the hospital...because of what HYDRA did to her..." She practically glared at Atria by this point. "The organization that you knew had infiltrated SHIELD ages ago."
"Now Seren, I know you're angry but I didn't know it was HYDRA—"
"But you knew something was wrong and you never said anything!" Seren exclaimed. "You brought me in, you let me do HYDRA's dirty work, and you never said a single thing! Grandmother, I don't understand why you would do something like that!"
"It is hard to understand this if you are not a seer but the things I see, most of them are never clear, Seren," Atria said, "It's-it's all a jumbled mess and it's hard to decide what's real and what's not. Believe me, I have seen countless versions of our lives."
"Spare me that crap, grandmother," Seren said. "You could have told me your suspicions. Do you know how useful it would've been to know what was going on? I could've helped Chloe! I could've done so much!"
"No you wouldn't have," Atria said earnestly and such honesty left Seren indignant. "Because you would have crumbled under the disillusionment of the truth, much like you did and still are."
Seren frowned, but no words came to mind.
"You were always so proud of your work and what you fought for, I didn't want to take it away from you," Atria said. "SHIELD did give you things that you will always carry with you in your life."
"And I am grateful for them but it doesn't take away from the ugly truth," Seren said quietly, "The truth you helped hide from me. I would expect more from my family than Fury but you and him both acted the same. And now here we are. I don't know what the hell I'm supposed to do now."
"I know—"
"No, you really don't," Seren said through gritted teeth.
"But I do," Atria said sharply. "I fled my home, Seren, and I came to a foreign planet with nothing but the clothes on my back. Believe me, if there is someone who understands what it means to start all over again, it's me."
Seren sucked on the inside of her cheek as once again she was left without words. Maybe it was slightly similar but...she didn't want to give her grandmother the point. She didn't deserve any points right now.
"Trust me, Seren, it's hard right now but things do get better. You grow past all that happened and you move on. You get to decide what you want to do next."
"How?" Seren's voice cracked as tears welled in her eyes. "I'm left with nothing! My job, all my work, just went down the drain! Rebeca just called me — my work for the Initiative in Europe was terminated. Anything funded by SHIELD is being put under the microscope. It's all done!"
"Then a fresh start is inevitable," Atria said annoyingly calm.
Seren laughed bitterly. "Oh, because it's so easy?"
"No, of course not," Atria sighed. "This will be one of the hardest parts, but you will make it through it."
Seren rubbed her forehead tiredly. "I...I don't know about that. Because as I have just said, I don't know what to do anymore. I'm at zero so thank you for your useless words right now. I only wanted to face you but it doesn't even look like you're sorry for keeping things to yourself. You haven't even at least tried to apologize. My mother always said that you were a proud woman, and now I finally see it."
And maybe that was something she should apologize to her own mother about. Because today, Seren was no longer blinded by the "shine" of her grandmother. She adored Atria for everything that she stood for — in her mind, anyways. She idolized Atria for her work and for bringing her into SHIELD. Seren couldn't possibly count all the time she spent training and pushing herself to the limit just to make Atria and SHIELD proud. It was an innate desire to be accepted, something she already battled with in her civilian life.
"How stupid I was..." she mumbled, and swallowed hard. She met Atria's gaze and very sternly asked her to leave. She couldn't with the conversation anymore.
Atria didn't put up any fight either. "My little star soul—"
"Don't call me that," Seren shook her head. "I am not little, nor am I your anything. Please just go."
"Alright, but I will be here for you whenever you need it."
"You weren't there for me when I needed you," Seren retorted and gestured Atria to the door. She waited for Atria to be on the other side then hurried to close the door. Tears rolled down her face and so she quickly wiped them off her cheeks. Her anger won out everything else this time.

Packing is how Steve found Seren when he arrived at her hotel. She was going to and from her closet putting clothes back in the suitcases she originally came with last week when he surprised her.
"No, no, no, no, what are you doing here?" She had dropped everything and rushed to him to encase him in a tight hug.
Steve chuckled at her reaction and pressed a kiss on her hair. "Thought I'd surprise you, but maybe I messed it up."
"No, of course not! I just thought I was going to come get you," Seren said, stepping back from him. She took his hands in hers and squeezed them. "I didn't want you to come from the hospital all on your own. I'm a terrible girlfriend—"
"No, you're not," Steve said sharply, eyeing her as such. "I was fine, really. And I did leave with Sam anyways. We started some, uh, planning."
"Oh, planning," Seren said, nodding. Of course he was going to get a headstart on the search for Bucky. "Anything I can do to help, you just tell me okay."
Steve nodded at her. He had no doubt that she would help him. He looked past her to the mess of clothes on her bed and then her suitcases. "Are you going back to London?"
Seren cleared her throat. "No, no, um..." She sighed. He was going to find out anyways so she might as well tell him. "Rebeca called earlier. The Initiative has been officially shut down over there so...I am officially out of a job everywhere."
"Oh sweetheart, I'm so sorry," Steve said, bringing her in for another hug. "I know it meant so much to you..."
"It's alright," Seren mumbled, even though it wasn't. Nothing was alright in her life these days. "Now I just...gotta figure out what the hell I'm gonna do now. For starters, moving to a smaller hotel room. I don't need a big one like this one." It was the room that Rebeca had originally paid for and now that the funding was gone, Seren didn't want to waste money where it didn't need to be.
"Do you know where you want to go?" Steve asked her.
"I'm not quite sure yet." Seren let go of him and walked back to her bed to continue packing. She glanced over her shoulder to Steve and flashed him a little smile. "But I'd like for it to be enough for both of us."
Steve couldn't help the smile that grew on his face. "Yeah?"
Seren's smile spread. "Yeah." Because if she had to leave everything behind, she would at least come out with him at her side.
"Then I guess we can add apartment hunting to our to-do list," Steve said, making her chuckle.
"Yeah, I guess so. I'd like for us to stay close to Stark's Tower, though. He's taken Chloe there to continue helping her."
"And how has she been?" Steve asked. He hadn't been able to visit Chloe while he was in the hospital and now she'd been taken away before he could leave the hospital room.
"Same, in and out." Seren went for the closet again. She preferred to leave out the moments where Chloe thrashed against anyone around her. They were painful just to watch. Chloe sounded like she was in pain trying to remember what happened and where she was. Her hand was healing but there would be scars.
"Maybe we can visit her then, try to help her however we can," Steve said, prompting Seren to stop for a second. He noticed the look on her face, like she wanted to tell him something but was hesitating. "Seren, what is it?"
Seren sighed. "Stark's pretty irritated with me right now."
"Why?"
"Because he says the one thing that could really help Chloe right now is that second tech piece and, well, Bucky sort of took that with him."
"He did?" Steve practically gaped at the news. Seren nodded at him. "Why did he—?"
"I don't know, he just did, and we don't know where it is anymore," Seren said. "I was so involved with you two that I didn't notice when Bucky slipped away."
"Well then we really need to find Bucky," Steve said. "For Chloe's sake."
"I'm ready to start planning whenever you are."
Steve knew that she was. "I think we have one more thing we need to do, though. I, uh, got a call..."

Seren saw him as soon as they entered the cemetery and Steve knew that she'd seen him when she squeezed his hand. The two walked up to recently added grave where a tall man in a hoodie was waiting for them.
Nick Fury stared at his own grave for a long minute before he spoke to the two behind him. "So, you've experienced this sort of thing before?"
Steve nodded at the question. "You get used to it. It also helps that mine was taken out." Despite there being no body, New York still had a grave for him somewhere. It was strange looking at your own name when it was part of a gravestone.
"We've been data-mining HYDRA's files. Looks like a lot of rats didn't go down with the ship..."
"No, I suppose that would be impossible," Seren said. Fury finally turned around to face them. "HYDRA was everywhere, after all. I'm surprised none of them were able to infiltrate other organizations like the CIA."
"So you've been going through the files as well," Fury remarked.
Steve glanced down at Seren at the question. She hadn't told him about that but it wasn't that hard to imagine.
"I wanted to know if I knew some of the rats," Seren said curtly. "I did, by the way."
"Agent Soul—"
"I am not an Agent anymore," Seren said loud and clear. "'Agent Soul' went down with HYDRA and SHIELD. 'Agent Soul' was theirs, I am not."
"I understand your disillusion with the world, but this world is far from happy and perfect. Sometimes the only choices we have are the worst ones and we still gotta make one. Have you never made a decision from two bad ones?"
"I don't think that's what Seren meant, Fury," Steve cut into the conversation. He felt Seren squeezing his hand again and not because of nerves. "It all comes down to honesty and loyalty, and I think Seren has given you that her entire life...even when she shouldn't have been at SHIELD."
"And I recognize it," Fury assured them. He looked at Seren and her hard face. "I do. I always have. Without you, many of our missions wouldn't have been successful."
"But you lied," Seren said. "You and my grandmother were two people I looked up to and respected and you both lied to me."
"We had to," Fury said, standing by it like Atria had as well.
"Did you, though? How many people got hurt because you had to hide the truth? Not including Chloe and Bucky. Because some of the files I've been reading talk about some weird work on people filed as SHIELD work. If I had known—"
"Stop thinking about things out of your control," Fury warned her. "Because the truth of the matter is that even I wasn't aware of everything. It doesn't matter now because this is where we are, Seren. You're right, you're not an agent anymore."
"I don't know what I am anymore," Seren said quietly. "All I ever knew crashed down. What I worked on so hard is now gone. I have nothing to show for it."
"That's not true," Steve said to her, "The people you've saved along the way count for millions. That is what you have and that will never go away."
Seren didn't regret those moments, even when she got hurt for most of them. "You know back in the early days, I read up on everything that had to do with the Avengers' Initiative. I learned a lot about what happened in '95 with Danvers. To this day, she is still my hero. I wanted to be like her, honor her with this Initiative...now that feels really stupid."
Fury looked at her like she was crazy. "Soul, you gave that Initiative your 110%. I will always be grateful for your help pushing my biggest idea through the ranks. Danvers lit the idea but you brought it to life."
"Even when I was brainwashed for half of it?" Seren said with a lighthearted smile.
"Hell, that just proves how good you were."
Seren nodded, her smile spreading. Perhaps she needed to hear this so that she could really start to think past all this. She couldn't think about the future if she was stuck on her past.
"I'm headed to Europe tonight, don't suppose either of you would like to come," Fury said and looked between the two.
"There's something I gotta do first," Steve said then glanced at Seren for her answer.
"I need time," she said truthfully. It was like Steve had said before, just because she could shoulder the burden of the world didn't mean that she had to take it on. Right now, she couldn't take on anything...and that was okay.
Fury understood. "Alright then." He shook hands with Steve, then Seren. "Anybody asks for me, tell them they can find me right here." He gave a nod at his gravestone then started off.
"You should be honored, that's about as close as he gets to saying thank you," Natasha's voice turned the remaining two around. She and Sam were approaching them, the former holding a manila folder in her hands.
"Natasha," Seren went to hug her. They hadn't seen each other in a few days. "Thanks for taking the head at Capitol Hill."
"Ah, don't even worry about it," Natasha waved a hand at it. "They're not going to be doing anything. They're in more heat than we are."
"Are you going with Fury?"
"No."
Seren tilted her head at the woman. "But you're not staying here either?"
Natasha smiled. "I blew all my covers, I gotta go figure out a new one."
"That might take a while," Steve warned, though he was smiling as well.
"I'm counting on it," Natasha said.
"Take your time." Seren wished her well.
"Keep me posted on Winters'," Natasha said to all three of them. "I want to know how she's doing each step of the way."
"We will," Seren promised her.
Natasha held the manila folder over to Steve. "I called in a few favors from Kiev."
Steve took a breath before reaching out for the folder. Everything about Bucky while he was gone was inside that folder. It would take a lot from him to read and find out exactly what had been done to Bucky while he was out.
"Be careful, Steve. You might not want to pull on that thread," Natasha said as softly as possible. She understood the drive to go find the Sargeant but she also knew that the ending might not be the one Steve was hoping for.
"Thank you," Steve said. She hugged him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"You're going after him?" Sam asked when Natasha got going.
Steve nodded. "You don't have to come with me."
"I know," Sam smiled lightly. "When do we start?"

🙋‍♀️ His plans to defeat Thanos (whether it takes place during IW or EG)
{out of breath} I talked a little about this topic in this post, with regard to what Pietro’s role in IW and EG may have been, either with Wanda or in an AU where Wanda had died instead of him in Sokovia. So that post covers a lot of this topic if you want to read that, but I’ll also kindof summarize here as well and deal with Thanos-specific headcanons.
Pietro would have either gone with Wanda after CW or would have helped to break her out of the Raft with Steve, so in IW, he would likely be living with her while they’re trying to avoid being picked up by authorities. That means he’d be in the vicinity or at least in the same city when Wanda meets with Vision, and that he’d likely be there when the Black Order attacks them. So he’d have a hand in that fight and then would absolutely go to Wakanda with Wanda, Vision, Steve, and Nat and all those guys. Once there, he would want to join the fighting. I don’t think he would have waited as long as Wanda did to go out there with everybody else. I wanna say he’d be with Steve and Bucky and those guys on the front lines.
But once Thanos himself was en route to Vision, I think (I’m ignoring Pietro’s speed for a second, with good reason... I’ll come back to it in a second) that he’d probably be similar to Steve in method, in that he’d try to slow Thanos down, get in his way, punch him in the face, try to yank the gauntlet off, whatever he can think of. He has superhuman strength, but not as much as Steve, and we all know Steve didn’t stand a chance one on one against Thanos, so Pietro wouldn’t get very far either.
Okay... the reason I ignored Pietro’s speed is because......... it breaks the movie, the entire timeline, and would derail everything that occurred after IW in my opinion, haha. Using his super speed, Pietro could easily get the gauntlet from Thanos. Why? Because he wouldn’t see it coming, literally, haha. It’s one thing if Thanos is ready for him or at least sees him coming and can counterattack or hold onto the gauntlet, but Pietro can close distance with Thanos and before he can react, slip the gauntlet off his arm unimpeded. There you go. *throws up hands* With this move, Pietro can chance so much of the story at this point, and I’m not even done with ideas he would have on what to do next...
Pietro can travel faster than Thanos for longer than Thanos can keep up, heh. All Pietro has to do... is keep running all around Wakanda with the stupid gauntlet, in a ridiculous game of keep-away, long enough for Shuri to finish getting the mind stone out of Vision’s head, and then she can destroy the stone and that’s that. Or... once he gets the gauntlet away from Thanos, maybe that makes him more easily killable by Wanda or someone else. OR... if Pietro really wanted to be a jerk, haha, he could start taking the gauntlet apart, removing the stones and hiding them all over the place so that Thanos can’t find them. And if Thanos is stopped, killed, prevented from doing wat he wants to do, that... derails so much of the future MCU 616 timeline. Vision wouldn’t die, Wanda wouldn’t be nearly as unstable because she has her brother and her future husband, Endgame and WandaVision would never have happened and therefore neither would DSMoM... The Blip would never have happened either. That’s huge.
Aside from some of the writers feeling like it was necessary for Pietro to die for Wanda’s character development, I also feel like they needed to remove him because of story-breaking reasons like the ones I just mentioned. Not only that... but... Pietro would remind Wanda that she can compel people to do things? Because? Apparently no one did in that movie? Including herself? She could compel Thanos to leave. Or to stand in place while people kill him. Or she could likely glue his feet to the ground with her red wispy magic stuff, heh. The possibilities are endless and I’m really not sure why she didn’t do that in IW. Unlike Mantis, she doesn’t need to touch him. We saw her compel an entire city in AoU from one central point, so... yeeeeah. Pietro would definitely have reminded her that she could do any or all of that and the whole problem would have been dealt with.
*shrugs* I’m probably missing something and it wouldn’t be as simple as all this, but I feel like some of it is possible at least. With Pietro alive, Thanos would have been far less of a problem, I really believe that.

To Protect and to Provide
Based on this request: "Zemo x Reader: The reader goes on a mission with him, sam and bucky but get injured somehow and Zemo is worried about her"
masterlist
Tumblr media
Sam and Bucky are arguing. Again.
This makes it- what, the tenth time this week? That’s just going off of the stuff you’ve seen on the security cams and by tailing them for the last couple of days to see what you’ve gotten yourself into by approving Bucky Barnes’ request for help.
Note to self: tell Sam and Bucky to get better at not having important, federal secret-centric conversations directly in front of security cameras. It’s getting annoying to have to keep deleting them from the footage.
However, you feel that they’re justified in fighting this time. Bucky has taken the liberty of freeing Baron Helmut Zemo from prison, something that definitely should have had Sam’s approval. It probably should have had your approval as well, seeing as you’re one of the agents who had to handle the damage Zemo dealt in the first place, but Bucky’s always been more of a lone wolf. He’ll ask for forgiveness afterwards if it suits him, but you don’t mind.
That’s how things usually work in S.H.I.E.L.D., at any rate; you do your work as a solo agent and apologize for any red tape you crossed while you were out in the field. Still, you suppose you never did something as drastic as liberating the man who fractured the Avengers into pieces.
Sam is, understandably, reacting poorly to the news, especially when confronted with a newly freed Baron Zemo face to face. From your vantage point hidden in the shadows and out of their lines of sight, you can see every concerned furrow of his brow.
“Why could this possibly be a good idea? Sure, maybe the guy could have some insight on tracking down supersoldiers, but I’m finding it difficult to believe he’s not going to betray us. Are you forgetting what he did?”
Bucky sighs. “I’m not forgetting that. I’m also not forgetting that we need help locating the Flag Smashers, or a lot of people other than the Avengers are going to get hurt.”
Sam pinches the bridge of his nose, clearly fatigued from the weight of Zemo’s additional responsibility. “And how are we supposed to find and fight the Flag Smashers while also keeping an eye on Zemo?”
Bucky takes a half step forward, pleased that the conversation has finally gone the way he’d hoped. “Actually, I already thought about that and got some additional security.”
Sam looks suspicious, likely because Bucky’s last great idea involved getting Zemo out of his cell. “Who’s your security?”
This seems as good a time for a dramatic entrance as any. You step forward from the shadows, allowing the light to finally illuminate your face and expose you as having been here all along.
“That would be me. I’m Y/N L/N, and I’ve been with S.H.I.E.L.D. for a very long time. Making sure people don’t stab you in the back is kind of my specialty.”
Sam startles slightly at your abrupt entrance, although Bucky just looks as if he’s been expecting something like this. Zemo takes off his borrowed prison guard’s cap the moment his eyes land on you, the picture of a perfect gentleman. Even after Sam starts talking, the baron’s gaze still remains captivated by you.
“Y/N L/N, huh? I think I remember Steve saying your name once in passing.” Sam says.
You nod. “I’ve worked with the Avengers before, most notably helping Steve find Bucky when he first turned up as the Winter Soldier. You don’t have to trust me as much as he did, but you can count on the fact that I’m not going to let you die.”
Sam stares at you for a moment longer, then shrugs. “Alright. You know what, alright. Supposing this plan works, we’re probably going to need all the help we can get. We leave tomorrow morning.”
Sounds good to you. Sam seems to accept your presence pretty well, especially after you have to save their collective asses from a shootout about half an hour later. Bucky seems happy that he’s at least temporarily alleviated Sam’s wrath over breaking Zemo out, so a tentatively good mood has stretched over the group.
The reaction to your presence that surprises you the most is Zemo. You assumed he would be as unnervingly calculating with you as he is Sam and Bucky, or at least talk to you with some form of passive aggressive nonsense seeing as your being here means it’ll be harder for him to get away with whatever mad scheme he no doubt has planned, but that’s not the case.
In fact, he seems more open to you than anyone else, especially when he realized that you could speak a little Sokovian. As a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent assigned to help with Sokovia during Ultron, and as someone who wants to make sure Wanda Maximoff was in their corner, you figured it couldn’t hurt to have a basic understanding of the language.
You didn’t anticipate it coming in handy now, though. You and Zemo have long conversations on his plane, much to the suspicion of Sam and Bucky, but you couldn’t care less about their opinions of you. You’re still saving their lives, so they can think whatever they want. Besides, Zemo gets this soft smile whenever he hears you slipping over his native syllables, and it fascinates you enough that you want to see it again and again.
Truth be told, you feel a lot closer to Zemo than you strictly should. You still keep him at arm’s length, as per an agent’s tradition, but you have quiet talks as you walk throughout a variety of cities trying to track down the Flag Smashers. Some of these chats happen in Sokovian, others, when Sam and Bucky are getting a little too antsy, are in English so they can hear mild parlor conversation and have their fears averted for the time being.
Zemo is nicer than you thought he would be, maybe that’s what’s getting to you. He asks about your life as an agent, although he only uses questions that have been carefully tailored to not force you to give anything away. Zemo knows that the second you suspect he’s asking around for federal information, you’ll stop talking to him, so he steers clear of damaging topics. It’s a kindness that he does not extend to Bucky, although that could just be his inherent dislike of supersoldiers.
Take tonight, for instance. There will be an expedition into Flag Smashers territory tomorrow, and all signals point to it ending in a fight. You’ve checked your weapons about a dozen times over, and scouted out the area as best you could, but all you can do now is sit tight and wait for the day to come.
You’re leaning against a marble-topped peninsula in the latest hideout, staring at the glass idly placed in your hand. It’s probably not the best to be drinking before a fight, but the mission won’t happen for a couple of hours and it’s only a few tablespoons, anyway. Not that you’ve managed to drink even a swallow of it, though- your nerves are too strong for that. You’re used to impossible missions, but usually you know that death or capture won’t risk your job. S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn’t know you’re here, so you can’t afford to slip up.
Soft footsteps sound across the hall, and moments later the door cracks open and Zemo appears, hovering over the threshold before realizing that you’re here alone and heading inside.
He pours himself a small glass before turning to you. “I cannot imagine the life you lead. Does it not grow tiresome to always risk your life for someone else’s fight?”
You shrug. “If I have to go to war for the lives of the people I care about, it’s always my fight.”
You hazard a glance up, and when you do, Zemo is looking at you with the same soft smile that you typically associate with you saving his life or using some Sokovian phrase because you heard him using it first.
“That’s a very generous sentiment,” he says, taking a step closer to you.
You let him come. “I can be a very generous person. On occasion.”
Zemo laughs, and you think it might be the first time you’ve heard him laugh without a motive, like he’s just a man who can find you funny, not a baron who needs to win to do anything worthwhile.
Then a troubling thought occurs to him, and his smile drops from his face as cleanly as blood falling from a blade.
“Stay safe during this mission tomorrow. You’re no supersoldier, and you can’t heal as easily.”
You arch a brow. “I don’t know that I’ve ever needed the reminder. I’m perfectly aware of my own limits.”
Zemo shakes his head. “I do not mean it as an insult, Y/N, just a warning. Perhaps I do not want to see you hurt.”
You had turned away slightly when he brought up the fact that you weren’t a supersoldier, and now he lays a hand on your arm, gently keeping you close. If you wanted to, you could reach forward and break several bones in his hand, just because he dared to touch you.
Instead, you stay. “I will watch myself if you do,” you offer.
He nods once. “It seems like a fair deal.”
You can’t help but laugh quietly at the earnest shrewdness in his gaze, and raise your glass in agreement. “A fair deal indeed.”
Like it or not, the morning of the mission still comes. You’ll be infiltrating a building with known Flag Smasher activity in the hopes of tracking down Karli Morgenthau long enough to figure out what she wants and where she’ll be going next.
The complex is no doubt teaming with enemy fighters, so stealth is of the utmost importance. Sam and Bucky are approaching from the north side, so Sam can get close to Karli. You and Zemo, however, will come from the south part of the building, searching for computers and hard drives or any source of information that you can take home with you.
The soles of your shoes crunch over gravel and broken asphalt, although you make no other sound as you approach. Gun in hand, you make your way carefully to an unsecured area of the complex, Zemo right behind you. There’s a door partially obscured under a low-hanging portion of the roof, and you’re able to kick it in without too much noise or difficulty.
Wordlessly, you start to move down the hall, and Zemo follows you. A few times, the two of you have to duck behind a large concrete column or head back down a corridor to avoid detection, but the job is done and you remain unseen by any and all Flag Smashers.
This might be a little too much good luck for you. You have yet to see a mission where everything went according to plan. Sure enough, your worries are proved correct when you hear something that sounds like a gunshot echoing out from the other side of the building, followed by ear-piercing klaxons screaming to life.
Bucky’s voice comes crackling in over your comms about half a second later. “They’ve spotted us.”
You grimace. “Yeah, I think I got that.”
Sam sighs amid a crackle of static. “Not helpful, Y/N. Get out now.”
You shake your head, forgetting for a moment that he can’t see you. “There’s a tech room around the corner. Give me thirty seconds and I can get what we need.”
Sam and Bucky erupt into immediate declarations of disapproval, but Zemo’s already beaten them to it. He takes your arm, pulling you into the shadows of a nearby corridor.
“You cannot risk your life like this. We have to call off the mission.”
He’s not wrong about the dangers, but you’ve been in enough situations like this to know that when you’re in, you can’t afford to back out. Leaving now will just make it harder to get that information on the Flag Smashers.
So, you give him your best attempt at a smile. “We need this. Trust me, alright? I’ll be back in a minute.”
You just have enough time to see his face twist into shock before you’re turning and running away back down the hall. There’s no point in trying to remain undercover anymore, as the Flag Smashers obviously know that you’re here, so you skid into the tech room without a second thought.
Luckily, the Flag Smashers only intended on being here temporarily, so they haven’t set up many protocols in place to keep you out. You shove a flash drive into one of the main computers, and start the largest file transfer you can manage.
They’ve already started to catch on to your plan, so you keep your gun aimed at the door, one hand on the trigger and the other poised over the flash drive, ready to take it and run at a moment’s notice. A few guards start pouring in, and you take them down as fast as you can.
You’re still just one person, though, and even if they’re slowed down by the one doorway, you’re going to run out of bullets eventually. The computer behind you beeps, signaling that the file transfer is complete, and you look behind you to retrieve the flash drive.
One moment. That’s how long you were looking away, barely any time at all but just enough for another Flag Smasher to get through the door without you noticing. When you turn back, flash drive in hand, they’re already pulling the trigger.
The bullet hits about a second later. The impact makes it feel as if you’ve been hit by a truck, and you’re pushed backwards on legs that no longer seem to support your weight. Blood is pouring out from the hole in your shirt, and it is not good in the slightest. You manage to fire at the man who’d shot you, granting you a temporary reprieve, but it’s not enough.
Another pair of guards appear in the door, and you know that this is it. You’re going to die from this bullet wound, and there’s no way you can take down both of these guys, what with your vision already tunneling.
As you watch, though, two gunshots ring out and the men fall to the floor. Standing behind them, lowering a smoking gun, is Zemo. His face constricts with horror when he takes in the sight of you, covered in blood and on the ground.
He’s by your side in a second, gently pulling you into his arms. “I need you to stay with me, agent. Just for a little longer.”
You should respond, but you’ve lost so much blood that you can’t quite force your tongue to move. Zemo notices this, and you watch as he desperately calls Sam and Bucky over his comms, asking for medical help.
He picks you up, carrying you through the crowded halls. Zemo has to stop just shy of the door, though, because more Flag Smashers have massed outside the exits, intent on choking you out and not allowing your group to escape.
Zemo’s hand is on your face, gently propping up your head in an attempt to keep you conscious.
“Keep your eyes open, alright? I need you to stay with me for just a little longer.”
He sighs suddenly, the weight of a thousand suns seemingly on his shoulders. “I don’t know why you mean so much to me, but you do. I don’t know why I need you more than breath, more than life, but I do. Just stay with me. Please.”
You want to do as he says, really you do, if just so you can ask him what that means more than anything else. The world is growing suspiciously dark, though, and as much as you try to pay attention to Zemo’s words, you can’t.
You wake to the sound of machines beeping and quiet voices. You hurt all over with the simmering kind of ache that tells you that you’re at least not about to immediately die, although recovery will be hell.
You keep your eyes shut, recognizing two of the voices as Sam and Bucky. They’re talking about the mission you just finished, and the data you were able to retrieve. They appear to be just on their way out, though, as their voices soon fade away and are cut off entirely by a closing door.
Another voice sounds now, calming in its tranquility.
“You can stop feigning sleep now, angel. They’re gone, and you have no more information to overhear that you couldn’t gain just as easily by asking me.”
You smile and open your eyes, revealing Zemo sitting in a chair by your side. You’re in a bed hooked up to an IV, and although there are a considerable amount of bandages wrapped around your midriff, you think that the danger has likely passed.
“Perhaps I like being able to listen in. You shouldn’t fault me for that.”
He chuckles softly. “I have no fault with it, I just think that there are easier ways to go about it. You were shot, you shouldn’t be straining yourself over secrets that I would gladly tell you.”
There’s a warning tone in his voice as he mentions the fact that you were shot, and you grimace.
“Alright, I know I was injured, but I completed the mission. That’s always the primary goal of stuff like this, above the health of the agents when necessary.”
Zemo sighs, running a hand absentmindedly through his hair. “I don’t deny that this is what you were trained to do, but for those of us who would rather not see you rushed into medical care, I wouldn’t mind if you changed a few prerogatives.”
He pauses a moment, then continues. “I meant what I said. I need you alive. I need you with me.”
You weren’t expecting such an honest confession, and it stuns you. Carefully, you mention that you need him as well, but the rush of painkillers no doubt injected into you by happy-go-lucky doctors is getting to your head.
Zemo notices this, and smiles. “Save your strength, love. We can talk about this later.”
You want to talk about it now, while your mind is still firmly entrenched in the topic, but rest does sound rather good. Your eyes flicker shut again, and the last sensation you recall before slipping beneath a sea of sleep is Zemo, pressing a kiss to your forehead. After that, there is nothing at all but a feeling enchanting every one of your dreams that you are blissfully, unimaginably happy.

Pairing: Boyfriend! Bucky x Fem! Reader
Word Count: 876
Summary: when someone gets a little too close and comfortable with you, bucky decides enough is enough.
Warnings: violence, swearing, booze, smut implied if you squint
Tumblr media
You felt the familiar, crystal blues drilling a hole in your back from across the room. You were used to the feeling of being watched, as your boyfriend never took his eyes off of you for more than a few seconds at a time.
A staring problem was considered an understatement.
But you never minded. You enjoyed it actually, his normal cool and stormy gaze a sky blue for you. No matter where you were, he was with you, his soft glances never leaving.
That rule didn't differ, as you felt his eyes on you from across the room. The friend group was at the local bar, the Star Spangled Pub. The usual meeting place.
Bucky was nursing a beer from across the room with Steve and Sam, his presence calm and peaceful as he watched you. You were playing pool with Natasha, Carol and Wanda, cue stick in hand as you laughed at something they said.
The lights were dimmed, quiet melodies playing from the old jukebox in the corner as you swayed along to the beat, taking a sip of your drink. You were having an amazing time.
Until you weren't.
The girls ran to grab more drinks, and you politely declined, knowing your limit. You had Bucky with you and he always looked after you if you drank too much, but tonight you wanted to be sober and conscious so you could see him and hear his sweet moans and praises clearly.
A tall black-haired man neared you, and you thought nothing of it. Neither did Bucky.
He was possessive, of course he was.
But when men approached you under his watchful eye, it never bothered him unless they were flirting with you. Trust was key in your relationship, and of course Bucky wanted you to have friends, male, female or anything in between.
So he looked away, rolling his eyes at Sam's jokes. You noticed the presence lingering behind you a little too long, so you turned to meet his hungry gaze as he raked you over.
“ Hi, sorry can I help you? Did you reserve this table or something?” you asked sweetly, not wanting to bother him. “No, no honey was just lookin at you. What's a pretty little thing like you doin all alone?” the man stepped forward, pressing you sharply into the table.
“ Oh I’m not alone, my boyfriend is actually-”
“I don't care baby. Want you anyways. I’m Brock.” His hand reached for your body, to grab anything he could reach.
“Get. The fuck. Away. From. Her.” a gruff voice snarled, Bucky shielding you with his beefy body from the man. His gaze was cold as ice, like a hunter as he stared down at the man. His voice was collected and calm.
Too calm. A storm was brewing.
“Or what buddy?” You had no idea who took the leap of faith first, the sound of bone crunching echoed in the air. “MOTHEFUCKER!” the man shrieked, stumbling back and clutching his nose.
Blood was trickling everywhere from Buckys blow to Brock's nose, breaking it with one clean punch. “ IF YOU'RE GOING TO FIGHT GET THE FUCK OUTTA MY BAR RUMLOW” the bartender shouted, stepping in to grab his shirt and yanking him back before a blow could be attempted on Bucky.
Not that he’d get very far before his entire arm was broken and snapped.
“Are you okay baby? He didn't touch you did he?” he asked, scanning your body for any signs of harm. “No, no he didnt. Thank you baby.” you reassured, gripping his red henley tightly as he pulled you in close to his chest. Suddenly, the girls came running back, worried looks etched on their faces.
“ We heard yelling, what happened?” Carol asked, frantically eyeing Bucky. “ Some guy was stepping out of line. He’s lucky I didn't kill him. I think Y/N and I are gonna head, she's pretty frazzled.” he noted, nodding to Steve and Sam from across the bar.
Bucky held you close, wrapping his jacket around your shoulders as he lead you out of the bar. The walk was silent minus the crunching of leaves as the two of you neared his motorcycle from down the street. “ I’m sorry Jamie. I didnt know he’d do that.” you keened, tugging his jacket tighter around your shoulders as the cool breeze blew by.
“Oh sweet doll I know that. I’m just sorry that pig went anywhere near you.” he cooed, cupping your jaw with his hand, stroking it soothingly with his thumb.
You smiled up at him, heart melting into a puddle when he leaned down and kissed you softly. His kisses were little sympathies, each touch in perfect harmony. It was sweet and filled with endless love. As if he could pour all the love he had felt for you into one kiss, one single touch.
Butterflies churned in your stomach as he kissed you until your head was light and woozy, cheeks heated despite the cool, crisp air.
“Now how about we go back home and order in some takeout. We can watch whatever movie your little heart desires, okay dolly?”
God you loved this man. You loved him with your entire being.
“ As long as there's cuddles involved.”

Broken Doll
Summary: Steve and Bucky have to now live with the consequences after they have broken you. Broken. That’s what you were. That’s what they wanted. Or at least that’s what they thought. Because here you are now. There’s no fighting. No hateful looks. No spiteful words. You are obedient. Following every command without question. You don’t even do anything when they are gone. Just sit in your room staring out the barred window. They left the doors unlocked. Keys to one of the cars. But you don’t try to leave anymore. You're resigned to this life you were forced into. You only move to use the bathroom. Maybe even to cook. But it’s loveless. It’s lifeless. Not like when you lived at the compound. There is no music. No cute little dance. No off-key singing. It’s just nothing. You’re a perfect doll. The doll of their making and they hate it.
Returning home late at night Bucky stays in the living room as Steve goes to your room. He doesn't knock. Just gently push open the door. You’re still awake. Still sitting on your window bench. Eyes fixed on the raindrops running down the glass pane.
“Y/n?” Steve calls, making you turn around. You stand. In the early days, you used to throw things at him and Bucky. Forcing them to clear the room out of anything you could throw. Now the room is filled with things once more. In the hopes that you will interact with them. Like the Switch. You loved video games when in the compound. You used to play with Peter in the common area all the time. But the console is still on your dresser. The box hasn’t even been touched. He feels your lips pressed against him. Blue eyes looking down at you. You forced a smile as you welcomed him back home. He sighs. He can’t stop comparing you to before.
“Come with me.” He says turning away from you. He doesn’t see the fear in your eyes. Worried that you upset him somehow. Scared that you will be thrown into the basement once more. But you follow him into the living room where Bucky is.
The brunette-haired man is holding something in his arms. Steve clears his throat making Bucky look away from whatever is there. He smiles at you as he moves closer.
“We got you something. Something that you will love, doll.” At least they hope. Both men watch you as Bucky pulls out the white kitten from his jacket. You used to talk about how you loved cats. How you befriended all the strays wherever you went. You wanted to get a cat when you lived at the compound. You begged Tony. For a whole year. But he never once gave you the ok. Bucky gently hands you the kitten. They watch as you stroke its white damp fur. For a second they can see your old light shining in your eyes. But all too quickly you snuff it out. Handing the kitten back to Bucky you speak.
“You can take it to the shelter tomorrow. A young kitten like that will find a home in no time.” You turn away from them and head to the kitchen. “Are you hun-”
“The kitten is staying,” Steve speaks through gritted teeth. Bucky was sure this would work. They were sure it would help give you your spark back. You stop and turn back to both of them.
“If that is what you want Steve. Who am I to argue?” Y/n! He wants to scream. You are Y/n. You argue with him all the time. Or at least you used to. The arguments were not big. Just which cereal brand was better. They were stupid and silly. And he just wanted them back.
“Now are you hungry? I didn’t cook since we have leftovers.”
The cat. Who’s name you had no opinion on. Even when they asked. Almost begged you to name the white furball. Got named Alpine. She seemed to love you. She would meow at your door. You would feed her. Change litter. On some of the rare occasions, the boys caught you petting her. In your room. When she sat in your lap. It was more than what you were doing before. It was a start hopefully in the right direction.
It’s just Bucky at home today. Steve is away on a mission. Alpine was curled up beside him as he scratched her head. He muted the tv when you entered the living room. You have willingly left your room. He hadn’t called you. You were here by choice. Maybe it was because Bucky was always the softer one. He dished out less punishment in the earlier days. Maybe you felt more comfortable near him. He moved over on the couch to give you space as he pats the cushion beside him. You take a seat. Alpine is in the middle; acting as a buffer. Bucky studies you. Your hands pull at the shorts you have on.
“Did I do something?” You ask not looking at him. His brow furrowed. You haven’t done anything wrong. You listened to their every word. So where was this coming from?
“Why do you think that pretty girl?” He brushes some of your hair behind your ear.
“Steve is mad at me. I know.” He sees the tears run down your cheek. “Please!” You beg. Head finally turned to look at him. “Please tell me what I did! So I can fix it. I don’t want Steve mad. I….I…” Your sobbing cuts you off. Bucky reacts. Alpine is forced from her spot as he pulls you into his arms. You did nothing. It was them. They had broken you. Broke you so much. Broken you into so many pieces. That they are trying to put you back together. But they don’t know-how.
“I’m scared.” You cling to him. “Steve is upset. And if I don’t fix whatever I did I’m going in the basement.” Your grip his shirt tight. “I don’t want to go back there, Buck. Please. Please tell me what I did.” Your begging breaks his heart. Gently he pulls you away. Right hand resting on your cheek as he brushes tears away.
“You’ve done nothing wrong. And as for the basement, I won’t let Steve put you back there.” He doesn’t know if you believe him. He doesn’t know what’s on your mind. Not anymore. But you nod. You allow him to wipe your tears away. Allow him to hold you. Rocking you back and forth until all the tears stop. You stay with him. Watching whatever is on. Until dinner where you get up to cook.
Steve comes back a few days later. Bucky had sent you to bed. Even after he reassured you multiple times you still worry. Scared that when Steve got back you would be punished. Bucky greeted his lover at the door. They talk. About the mission. About the team. About how they had finally marked you as dead. It had been two years and the Avengers finally gave up your search. It should have made Bucky smile. No one could take you from them but a frown stayed on his face. Steve looked towards his partner.
“What’s wrong?” He asked sitting his boots to the side of the couch to be put up later. Bucky takes a breath. He doesn’t want to fight with Steve. But he also wants to know why you think he was upset.
“Did you say anything to Y/n before you left?” He watches as the blonde thinks back on their last interaction. Nothing stuck out. He told you that he loved you. That he would miss you. Kissed you on the head before he left. But that wasn’t what Bucky was talking about. And he knew it. So he shook his head. The brunette nods. A sigh leaving his mouth as he sits to face Steve.
“For some reason, Y/n thought you were upset at her. That she had done something wrong.”
“She hasn’t!” Steve exclaims. Bucky nodded.
“I know. But Steve. She’s…” He looks away from the blonde. She’s broken. He wants to say. But Steve already knows that. “She’s sensitive to changes. It could have been your tone of voice. Or body language.” The blonde groans.
“She never used to be like this. She-”
“She used to be whole.” Steve simply nods in agreement. He couldn’t be mad at you. You learned to predict their moods. Try and make them happy to lessen the damage done to you. It was on them. Not you.

Tumblr media
It was a Friday night, you and your friends were hanging out at a bar not far from the college campus. Your roomates and best girlfriends Nat and Wanda were over on the dance floor with their boyfriends, Steve and Sam, and since there were only 6 of you that went tonight, that left you at the bar with Bucky Barnes, much to your dismay. You'd only just arrived but of course your so called best friends immediately ditched you and left you with, who you considered to be your arch nemesis. (but you never said that in front of Nat cause the last time you brought it up she just rolled her eyes and mumbled something about being a "dramatic ass" which you did not appreciate) It wasn't that he was a bad person, you knew he wasn't, he was just the most annoying pain in your ass ever and had been ever since your first year of high school.
You let out a long sigh before waving over the bar tender to get you some sort of alcohol that you know will be necessary in order to survive a night with Barnes.
Bucky leans over to you and you suppress the urge to roll your eyes.
"Whats got your panties in a twist"
Ugh. Here we go.
"Leave me alone Barnes, if i knew i'd be stuck with you all night, I wouldn't have come."
"Ouch, you wound me doll" he says with his hand on his chest, feigning offence.
You can't hold it back any more and roll your eyes. 'Oh and Natasha calls me dramatic' you think as you look down at the drink that was placed in front of you and then back up at the bar tender and nod in a casual thanks.
"Don't call me that" you say in the most bored tone, after having said it nearly everyday for 8 years. You know he'll never stop, which you suppose is the only reason you still say it, because not that you would ever admit it, but you would hate for Bucky to stop calling you that.
He completely ignores your comment (as usual) and looks at you with a sly grin.
At the feeling of being stared down you groggily lift your eyes from the straw that you're twirling in your drink and meet his eyes. You raise an eyebrow, silently asking him to explain what ever mad shit he was thinking.
He stands up and offers a hand to you.
"Would you care for a dance m'lady?"
You cringe at the hideously awful attempt at a British accent and tried to cover your amusement. You hesitantly take his hand and let him drag you to the dance floor. You know theres no point in fighting it so you figure you'd get a little tipsy and sway around with Bucky for a bit. After all, it was a Friday night and you needed to have some fun, even if that meant dancing with your 'nemesis'.
You and Bucky mindlessly dance around for a couple of songs until a slower one starts and he jokingly twirls you around.
You sway together for a bit and at one point you turn your head only to spot your ex boyfriend, Gregg, standing round a table near the entrance. You turn back to Bucky with a panicked look.
"Oh shit"
He looked over your shoulder to see what you were looking at then turns back to you with a confused expression.
"what?"
You take another quick glance over your shoulder to see your jack ass ex looking over at you.
"Ugh Shit shit shit...kiss me"
Bucky looks at you with wide eyes "what?"
"Ugh shush just kiss me"
"What? Why would-"
You cut him off, grabbing his face and crashing your lips to his. You feel Bucky tense and it takes him a few seconds to react. Once he's registered whats happening, he lets his body relax, and brings his hands up to rest on your waist. Your hands fall from his face and wrap around his neck. As you feel yourself get lost in the kiss you momentarily forget that your in a crowded bar and that the kiss you share with Bucky was meant only as a distraction. The kiss was dizzying, and makes you wonder why you and Bucky hadn't stopped your useless bickering and tried this years ago. You feel his hands tighten on your waist and you let out a small whimper, which you instantly regret and pray to whoever's listening that the loud noise of the bar covered your mistake. As if Bucky Barnes needed anyone else to feed his ego, and letting him know you actually enjoyed the kiss? No way, never, because you don't like him like that. You don't...
You pull away only to see that your prayers were not answered as you watch Bucky's face turn from, flushed? (No, he can't possibly have liked that, shut-up) to smug as a cocky smirk slips onto his face.
'No no no, please no' you think to yourself as you stare at Bucky, wide eyed, and face as red as a tomato as you realise you actually want to kiss him again.
You're broken out of your daze when Bucky opens his mouth once again.
"So you liked that huh"
You groaned and dropped your head against is chest. Great. So he did hear you.
You looked back up but refused to meet his eye. "Oh shut up, I only did it coz Gregg over there saw me" you nodded your head in the guys direction.
It was then that you managed to look at Bucky and see that his eyes immediately softened and the cocky smirked was replaced by a somewhat sympathetic look at the mention of your ex boyfriend. Bucky was a pain in your ass but you were still friends, so when you mentioned Greggs name Bucky felt his chest tighten, and anger bubble up inside him. He knew what you'd been through with that piece of shit and he hated the guy for it, because you were Buckys friend of course, and he cared for you as a friend, definitely just a friend...
You looked down at the floor and Bucky felt his heart ache.
"Hey" He gently nudged your chin up with his hand.
"You ok?"
You looked up at him once more to find nothing but genuine care and concern on his face and you can't deny that it warmed your heart.
You gave him a small smile. "Yeah im okay" and you really were. Its not that you weren't over Gregg (You definitely were, he was a horrible person) it's just that he put you through a lot so seeing him brought up some uncomfortable memories for you, but honestly? You felt safe and at peace right now. Sure, seeing him had panicked you at first, but being in Bucky's arms, also knowing that Sam, steve, Nat and Wanda were all close by was comforting.
And thats what made you realise.
You were still in Bucky's arms.
You felt yourself tense from the realisation before relaxing as you noticed that it wasn't uncomfortable at all. It felt... right? You let your head rest on Bucky's shoulder, with a small smile on your face, you looked up at him. He made no move to pull away, and looked down at you with a mirroring smile.
Once he knew that you were actually ok he let the cocky smirk return to his features.
Your smile turned bashful and you turned into him to hide the blush on your face.
"So you are in love with me? I knew it" Bucky said with the most typical arrogant-asshole tone you had ever heard.
You tried to hide your face as it turned a deep crimson. "ugh, you wish Barnes"
"Yeah, yeah I do wish"
He said it so quietly that you almost missed it over the roaring sound of the bar. Almost.
You brought your head off his shoulder to look him in the eye. Completely denying to yourself that he had said what you thought he'd said.
"What?" Your matched his volume, your voice barely above a whisper, mostly from pure shock. You refused to believe that this Greek God of a man actually had feelings for you. Unless... no. It literally wasn't possible, maybe he was just playing a joke on you? Yeah, that had to be it.
Asshole.
" I do wish you were in love with me. It'd be a dream if you finally felt the same"
"Huh?" You said, much louder this time, completely baffled at this turn of events. You searched his face for any sign that he was teasing or just anything that didn't show he was being dead serious, but you didn't find anything. You realised whilst looking at him, that you'd never seen him like this before. Ever. He looked so... vulnerable.
It wasn't quite the reaction he was expecting but then again he'd spent the most part of 8 years convincing you, you were just as much of a pain in the ass to him as he was to you. So he tried again.
"Y/n, im serious. I know we act like we hate each other but I've spent years pretending and I really just have to tell you." His eyes are pleading as he looks at you, his hand comes up to gently rest on your cheek whilst the other keeps its loose grip around your waist, making sure you're comfortable and also making sure you know that you can get away easily if you need to. "This isn't just another joke, i promise, I know I've been an ass but I wouldn't mess with your feelings like that"
You feel tears stinging in your eyes as you stare at him completely in shock but also ecstatic that he feels that way about you.
"Bucky, I don't get it, if you really like me then why be such a pain in the ass all these years?" You both share a light chuckle at that.
"fine i'll admit, I could've been a tiny bit nicer over the years-"
You give him a pointed look but can't help the giggle that escapes you, that he follows with his own chuckle.
"But! But you have to admit it was kinda a two way thing" your both still laughing as you say "Well yeah but you started it! I was totally ready to try to be friends with you but I believe one of the first things you said to me after steve introduced us was "suck it up sweetheart and put on your big girl panties"
You almost burst out laughing as you watched him cringe at the comment from his past self. Truthfully, he took one look at you back then and thought you were drop dead gorgeous. It only got worse when instead of dropping at his feet and sucking up to him like the majority of other girls and guys at the school, you actually stood up to him, you weren't afraid to tell him to fuck off and honestly? Bucky thought You looked adorable when you were mad. And he told you as much now.
"Im sorry! Ok" he said laughing along with you.
" you were gorgeous and didn't suck up to me like other people, i just wanted your attention" he admitted the last part sheepishly with a blush on his face which let you take over his cocky attitude, but once Bucky noticed this he immediately flipped it around.
"And honestly sweetheart? You look adorable when you're mad." And just like that you were once again reduced to a blushing mess and he took back his much to arrogant smirk.
"For the record? I think this blushing thing is adorable too babydoll"
You find that your belly erupts in butterflies at the pet name contrary to your usual reaction.
"I can't believe I've waited so many years to do this" he whispered and with that, he leaned down and took your lips in his, in a gentle, loving kiss which you happily returned.
Ok so maybe Bucky Barnes wasn't too much of a pain in your ass anymore, but he still had his moments. You would never admit it but now those moments just made you fall for him harder.
A few feet away from you, at the now slightly less crowded bar, sat your four friends with the most shit eating grins on their faces.
"Hand it over man" Sam held out his hand to Steve expectantly and Steve groaned.
"Damn it Wilson! It wasn't meant to happen for at least another year"
"Nah these two idiots were due to figure this shit out years ago, I can't believe it's taken this long" Wanda says looking at you and Bucky with a soft smile.
Nat just smirks, being the only one that knew from the very beginning, right from when Bucky told you to "suck it up sweetheart", that you two idiots were bound to fall in love.
