A Gentle Reminder
Dear AO3 Readers,
Writers can see the comments you leave with your public bookmarks, so unless you intend on making a passive-aggressive ‘comment’, please be mindful of what you add to your notes or even how you phrase it. If you want the note to be for yourself, I humbly suggest making your bookmark of a particular work private. That way, writers are able to see the total number of bookmarks their work has but they won’t be able to read your note.
While I find that the majority of notes readers leave alongside their bookmarks are kind (and actually quite sweet), occasionally one stands out. Personally, I always question why someone would bookmark a work they obviously didn’t enjoy (and I base this observation solely on the note accompanying the bookmark), but I also give the reader the benefit of the doubt as I lack an enormous amount of detail. Still, it’s not a nice thing to come across. Quite the opposite, actually. Please don’t tell me writers shouldn’t go look at the bookmarks of their work, it’s a response that makes absolutely no sense. Not when readers have the option to private their bookmarks, which leaves them free to say whatever they want about a piece of writing. Not that I consider leaving private disparaging remarks any better than public ones. I firmly believe in simply walking away and finding something else to get lost in.
Just a thought.
Yours,
A Writer

That moment in a fandom when you're trying to find a fanfic with your favorite character in it, but you can't find a single one so you're just-
"Ugh- fine, guess I'll do it myself!"

Pressure
This is the longest I wanted to write and went on without it for months. I wanted to write because of a lot of things that happened lately. My life has changed. Well, given that we assume that life is the sum of what we do daily and our objectives, short or long term. I do not know if I should carry on with writing and turn it into a serious piece, or just postpone it, like the 250 saved tabs in my browser that I save to silence my giant FOMO (fear of missing out), actually never go back to. Sitting on my parents couch, in the air-conditioned living room during a +40 Celsius degree day, listening to "Pressure" by Billy Joel, that's all I have felt for quite some time now. Pressure. Peer pressure, age pressure, still-living-with-my-parents pressure, pressure that I turn out to be a failure, pressure that I will never be financially independent, pressure of being broke, pressure of witnessing everyone around me leaving for expatriation while I did the reverse trip 3 years ago. I think my thoughts are all over the place for a proper writing. I think I have said enough.
You've only had to run so far so good But you will come to a place Where the only thing you feel Are loaded guns in your face And you'll have to deal with Pressure

I'm actually floored by how well How You Get the Girl has done! I was struggling with it for weeks, especially the middle but so many people have read and enjoyed it and left such lovely kind feedback!
I just wanna say thank you all, I guess! Thank you for reading and taking time out of your day to leave a comment or share your thoughts in the tags!
It means so much as a writer to get feedback and I promise you I go back and read those lovely comments pretty much every day!
You guys are so kind, and I just hope you continue to enjoy the crazy stuff that comes out of my brain!

My Body Is Mine!!!
My sole most precious object, gift and possession is my Body
I cannot enjoy the company of friends or family without a healthy body
My Body is NOT for experimenting, injecting, infecting, implanting, branding, cutting, poisoning, smothering, implantation or vaccination
Big Pharma and New World Order I and my Body are not for sale
You cannot buy my Body
Nor will I allow you steal it from me
By force or by any of your other crafty mastery
So HEAR ME NOW AND I HOPE YOU READ THIS MESSAGE
As if I delivered my WORDS to you PERSONALLY
HANDS OFF ME AND MY BODY!!!!!!!!!!!
Signed by Gabriel Woods (Your worst nightmare if you keep up this Monkeypox and all the rest of the BS!!)

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

I pointed this out in a Discord server I'm in and thought Id share here:
Bob Iger announced that Disney is going to absorb Hulu, and Hulu will no longer exist next year. All shows will move to the Disney+ app.
Disney also announced they were going to remove shows and movies periodically from their streaming services.
I believe both of these moves are because of the Writers Strike.
Disney knows its going to lose the strike. There is too much public support. Specifically, the WGA is going to win writers getting more residuals from streaming.
So if Disney takes shows off of streaming, they dont have to pay the writers the residuals.
They are going to use excuses like "not enough funding for the server capacity" or "not enough views to warrent keeping the show". These are BULLSHIT. Its all greed. Its only GREED.
Pay attention to what happens in the following weeks.
And keep supporting the writers' strike.
