Joining the Avengers had been a scary experience for you, but not because of all of the danger. No, that you had been fine with – your mum and dad had both been agents for Australia’s division of HYDRA, and in a rebellious phase which had turned out not to be a phase at all, you had become a spy for SHIELD. When your position was compromised, SHIELD had taken down your base and brought you with them to New York. Once they realised exactly what you were capable of, Fury had fought tooth and nail for you to join the Avengers and after a few missions, you had become one officially.

No, the scary part wasn’t the danger. It was the position you would have to take as the first openly transgender Avenger.

You were genderfluid, mostly using they/them pronouns, but alternating every once in a while with he/him and the occasional neopronoun. You had one rule, though: no one was to refer to you as female, or with she/her pronouns. You were fine with showing your femininity, loving to play with dresses and make up, but the language surrounding it reminded you of your time pretending and brought you major dysphoria.

Everything had turned out mostly fine, but with the occasional slur thrown at you by the media. People who refused your service ended up regretting it almost immediately with Bucky standing right behind you. For the most part, you could hold your own. But there was one thing that never failed to make your day worse: interacting with Steve Rogers.

Most of the Avengers had turned out to be lovely about it. Clint and Natasha had taken you in like a child. They had been the ones to take you to your first pride parade, ending with them holding you close as you cried tears of relief that you would be okay; people like you weren’t wrong, or dirty. Bruce was quieter with his support, offering shyly over dinner to perform your top surgery, which you had instantly (and gratefully) taken him up on. Tony fucked up your pronouns occasionally but apologised quickly and moved on without a fuss. You knew that came from a place of ineptitude rather than malice, though, as he had added a small genderfluid pride flag to your suit just over your heart, built a binder into it until Bruce had done the surgery and added a rainbow flag to the Iron Man suit. Despite being queer himself, he had never bothered to do this before but once seeing the backlash to an openly transgender Avenger, he had decided to be more open with his own identity. You and Peter obviously got on like a house on fire with him being transmasc himself, and while you had never spoken directly to Sam about it, every so often you would see a proud look on his face as he watched you.

The most surprising reaction came from Bucky. For your first few weeks in the compound, he had seemed uncomfortable with you, and you assumed he had some… more historical ideas from growing up in the forties. One day in training, though, he had abruptly asked a question. This became a more frequent occurrence until they had finally opened up to you and said he thought they might be nonbinary; at the moment, he/they pronouns seemed to fit him best. The two of you had bonded quickly, much to the annoyance of Bucky’s star-spangled best friend.

Steve was… less accepting about the whole thing. He had never outrightly said that he didn’t like it, but he was constantly misgendering you and rolled his eyes whenever you corrected him. He tensed up whenever you entered a room and scoffed whenever FRIDAY informed the group that you would be attending some form of pride event or interview. It brought you down considerably, but you had never brought it up for fear of upsetting the team by calling out their leader.

Bucky was sitting with you, talking about their latest discovery from the modern world. He had started watching Doctor Who and had become particularly enamoured with one Bill Potts. You didn’t have the heart to tell them about her less-than-happy ending.

“Buck!” you heard Mr. Stars and Stripes call. You tensed at the sound of his voice, and Bucky looked over at you apologetically.

“Leave the broad alone, I need your help with something.”

Your blood began to boil. It had been over a year of this, and you were getting fucking sick of it.

“Bucky,” you said quietly. “Before I do anything, I need you to confirm for me what broad means.”

Bucky winced. “Woman,” he said softly.

You nodded. Your assumption had been correct; Steve was back on his bullshit. “I just needed to check. Are you comfortable with my saying something?”

“Go for your life.”

You stood up and looked at the blonde man. “I think you’ll find I’m not a broad, Steve.”

Steve scoffed and looked you up and down. “Sure.”

A tiny wire in the back of your mind snapped. “What is your problem with me, huh? What is so hard for you to understand? I’m not a woman. You need to use they/them pronouns referring to me. I thought you were in World War II? This shouldn’t be that hard.”

You saw hostility in Steve’s eyes. It seemed like this had been building up for a while; he was glad to be given the excuse to finally say what he was thinking.

“Oh, for the love of all that is holy,” Steve’s voice started to build. “You can’t possibly still be on about this.”

“What do you mean by this, Steve.” Your eyes narrowed and you could see Bucky sink into the couch behind you.

“I mean that you’re a woman. Look at you. You were born a woman, and you’ll continue to be one. It’s demeaning to try to convince us otherwise.”

“You are filled with such bullshit, Steve!”

“No, look.” His eyes flashed. “I’m sick and tired of having to make you feel comfortable, when it’s clear that what you are, is sick. We shouldn’t all be playing into this delusion you have!”

“Steve, that’s enough.” The last person you would have expected strode into the room. Sam Wilson stood in front of you protectively. “I get what things were like for you growing up, and that it’s a massive culture shock, but things are different now.”

You looked up at the man with shock.

“Oh, you can’t possibly be serious, Wilson,” Steve scoffed. “Look at her!”

“Them,” you heard Bucky say quietly. Steve’s eyes flashed over to them.

“Not you too, Buck,” he gesticulated wildly. “Surely, you’re on my side. You know better.”

“No, I don’t.” You looked at Bucky with a warning. You didn’t want him to say something he might regret, but the determination in their eyes made you understand that this wasn’t just about you; it was about him too.

“Steve, I’m the same as them,” Bucky said. It was strange to see the notorious Winter Soldier trembling, but it was happening in front of you. “Well, not exactly the same. I’m nonbinary. I use he/they pronouns. I’m not a man, Steve."

The blonde started to laugh. “You can’t be serious, Buck.” The hurt that flashed through Bucky’s eyes drew you back towards them, and you wrapped an arm around his shoulders. Sam put a hand on Steve’s shoulder.

“Man, you can’t just—”

“And you!” Steve shouted. “Why are you defending them? You’re normal!”

Sam’s eyes flashed with something you hadn’t seen in them before. “Sorry to tell you, Captain, but you’re looking at a trans man.”

Steve went quiet, his eyes wide.

“I was born a girl, Steve,” Sam said very seriously. “I’m just not as brave as them.” He gestured to you. “I don’t really like to talk about it, because of people like you. I already have it hard enough with all the fucking racism about right now.”

Steve was shocked.

“But let’s talk about you, Cap,” Sam continued. “Because let’s face it, you’re the problem here. All the bullshit coming out of your mouth is just hurting the people you supposedly love most. What does that say about you?”

It was a strange sight, Captain America trying to make himself small. Sam put his arm around Bucky and started leading you both out of there.

“Proud of you, Buck,” he said softly. Bucky gave him an uncommon smile.

“Oh!” you called back. “And you can keep your fucking star-spangled American dream and shove it up your—”

Sam pulled you away as the door slammed shut.

Just a thought about this fanfic I want to write with Loki, Bucky and Zemo.

His beginnings would be linked to a young Baron Zemo and he would get the name Zlý from him. Zlý: from Slovak ''bad/evil''.

Loki finds an old Hydra experiment at a base in the sea (maybe in thor 1 or avengers) so the girl? creature? She's linked to a line of hydra that everyone doesn't know about, more linked to magic and sorcery. The fic could be her/their journey throughout the timeline, bonding sentimentally with Loki but also with Bucky because both sides of Hydra have a commonality.

Maybe a series.

Zlý: into the unknow for Loki, going through the events from Thor to Thor 2 (passing through avengers).

Zlý: Agonizing among tentacles (idk lol) since Captain America: The winter soldier to Avengers: end game.

And Zlý: An empire fall for Zemo and Bucky (like a polyamorous relationship, I don't like love triangles) during the events of FTWS.

Your skin felt awful.

Every movement reminded you that you were inside of yourself and it made you sick. The other servants had clearly noticed your uncomfortable feelings, but decided to say nothing.

That was until you had a hand hastily wrapped around your wrist.

Instead of a servant, your eyes meet green as Loki stares down at you.

“I need you in my chambers, now.” Their voice is soft and catches you off guard as you walk with them into their chambers. The gold, black and green interior is all you can focus on as you attempt to keep your eyes away from the royal standing in front of you. Loki decides to interrupt the silence.

“Are you alright?” The question catches you off guard as your eyes finally meet theirs. You could tell them everything about your feelings. The constant feeling of being in the wrong body, always wanting to rip your own skin off so you can stop feeling it. But would they even understand? They can shapeshift, when they feel uneasy in their body they can just switch it, you aren't that lucky.

“I'm fine, your majesty.” Your words fall of deaf ears as Loki walks closer to you. It was no secret the small romance you and Loki had nursed together, but this situation was different. “I know you're not, tell me what's wrong.” Tears threaten to fall from your eyes as you try to blink them away. Loki's soft hand caresses your cheek, forcing you to look up at them. “Tell me darling.”

A single tear breaks its way out of your hold as you take a deep breath. “My body just feels so wrong.” Loki gives an understanding sigh as they bring you closer to them, holding you in a tight hug as you finally relax against their form.

“How about you take a break here?” Loki says, holding you so that you will look at them. You nod with a small smile as Loki takes you to their bed, laying you down lovingly as they sit next to you.

“My darling, would you like me to remind you how lovely you are?” Their hand returns to your cheek as you cock an eyebrow at them. “And how would you do that?” Loki chuckles as they crawl between your legs. Your heartbeat gets faster as they place a hand on your lower thigh. “If you don't want to, I completely understand, I just thought you should be reminded just how handsome this body of yours is.” Your face gets hot as you tangle your hands in their black hair. “Yeah, you can do that.”

Loki gives a mischievous smile as they unbuckle your pants, slowly dragging them down your legs as they massage your thighs. “You have no idea how handsome you truly are, do you?” Words get caught in your throat as you attempt to keep your mind in tact.

Loki's fingers slowly drag your boxers down as they discard your clothing on the floor. Loki takes that as a sign to go faster as their grip on your thighs gets tighter,making sure their face stays flush with you no matter how much you try to buck your hips. Their tongue suddenly finds its way to your clit, making your hips buck away from them. They immediately move your hips back down, continuing to circle your clit with the tip of their tongue. “Don't move baby boy.” You attempt to follow their command, forcing your body to go limp against their mouth as they massage small circles into your flesh.

Heat pours into your lower stomach as you hold them closer to you. “I'm gonna cum.” Is all you manage to choke out as you feel Loki grin against your flesh. “Cum for me puppy.” He mutters out.

Bucky X Reader

It was supposed to be easy. Get in, get the info, fight some men and get out. You even had a date night with Bucky all planned out for when you got home. Unfortunately for the Avengers though, things rarely go to plan.

Blood dripped from your hands, pooling on the ground you kneeled on. A sharp gasp of pain escaped you as you slowly stood up, your body protesting in pain with each movement.

“Y/L/N, status,” Steve’s voice comes through your comm.

“I’m in the East wing. Just cleared it,” you answer as you look down at the bodies of men that littered the ground around you, “I’m headed back to the front now.” With a grone you leave the rubble covered lab room and head towards the front exit of the Hydra facility you and the team had attacked no more than thirty minutes ago. More than ready to get on the Quinjet and get back home to the Avengers Compound.

“Buck, don’t forget you said you’d be making me fresh pizza tonight.” You say into your comms, a small smile gracing your lips at your small upcoming date night with your boyfriend. You’re answered back with the sound of Bucky’s chuckle before his deep voice says,

“Don’t worry doll, I haven't forgotten. I went out and got all the ingredients for it yesterday.” You hum in approval before Sam speaks up.

“Hey, I want homemade pizza!”

“Yeah guys, me too!” Comes Peter’s breathless reply, you can just picture him swinging between the trees outside of the base.

“Sorry boys, but you can’t join. It’s date night.”

“Ahhhh,” comes Sam’s quick reply, “date night, which means you two are gonna be fuc-”

“Sam,” comes Steve’s voice, his tone warning, “we have little ears on here.”

“Oh you mean to watch my language.” Sam laughs out at the joke, unwilling to let Steve ever live it down.

“Guys, I’m not little, I’m sixteen.” Peter answers. Just as you go to press your comms button and join in on the conversation a rattling noise catches your ears. Stopping in the middle of the low lit hallway you’re walking through your look around. Your hand drops down from your comms to your side, palming a knife into your hand. The sound stops and you hear nothing but your own laboured breathing for a moment before it comes again.

Left, you think to yourself. You spin and come to face a large steel door propped open just the tiniest bit. Resting a gentle hand against it you push it open.

“East wing, backup now!” You gasp out into your comms before you’re ducking and dropping to the floor, just barley dodging the dager headed straight towards you. Your ear burns and blood drips down onto your neck from where you can feel it nicked you. Another dager and another near miss has you throwing yourself behind a small desk to your left, not nearly enough protection for you. You can hear commotion over the comms, Bucky’s voice sounding the most but it’s all background noise to you now. With a quick look over the desk you throw your dagger, you see it stick in the chest of one of your assailants before you’re ducking back down.

Five left, a number you could handle any day by yourself if you hadn’t just thrown your last dagger and weren’t severely injured.

At the sound of bullets hitting the steel desk you’re hidden behind you couldn’t wish for the others to come to you fast enough.

A commanding voice yells out, the symphony of gun fire stops before heavy footfalls sound towards you and you know it’s not the Avengers here to back you up. No, they’re calm, collected, a swarm of Hydra agents that know they have you cornered.

“If you come quietly, this will all be a lot less, painful.” A gruff voice sounds. You look to your right where a bearded man with dark hair stands, his hands folded before him as he stares down at you, a cruel gleam of victory in his eyes. Men in black uniforms stand all around him, around you, filling up the room.

Stall, you think of the others rushing through the base at the very moment, Bucky no doubt leading them in a race to reach you.

“Okay,” You say calmly as you stand. Your head spins with dizziness, the ground swaying beneath you as black spots dance in your vision. You reach out a hand on the table in an attempt to steady yourself, the bloody hand print you leave on it leaving no doubt in your mind as to the cause of your poor state.

“Good,” the man purrs before two men are stepping forward and grabbing onto your arms painfully. Your head dips to the side with exhaustion, a groan slipping past your cracked lips as you’re dragged from the room. “I have to say, I expected more from an avenger. Especially one who’s trained with the Winter Soldier.”

“He has a fucking name.” You grit out as you’re marched down the hall. The sound of guns firing just down the hall let you know that the others are nearby and fighting to reach you.

“Not to us, he doesn’t.” The man responds coolly.

“Y/N!” You twist around at the sound of your name, eyes searching the sea of black uniforms to find Bucky. He’s fighting like hell at the end of the hall, his metal fist flying at his assailants. As one of the men drops to the ground after a hit from him he looks towards you for a moment, you can see the fear in his eyes for you from across the hall. You twist and turn and try to rip yourself free of the men’s grips on you as he calls out your name once more.

“Bucky!” You yell back through the swarm. How had you not clued in on the ambush sooner? You’re pulled back roughly as the butt of a gun is slammed into the side of your head.

The last thing you see is Bucky’s wide eyes as you’re dragged backwards, his metal arm reaching out towards you in desperation, and then darkness.

You weren’t at the Avengers Compound when you awoke. No soft bed to lay on or freshly made pizza at the hands of your boyfriend waiting to be eaten up.

No, as you peeled your eyes open you found yourself lying on the cold floor of a small cell, a pool of your own dried blood surrounding your prone body. Your head throbbed painfully, your mouth dry, the taste of iron coating your tongue and you knew where you were, who had you.

A small tear slipped free from the corner of your eye.

You were with Hydra.

Bucky stared at the ceiling again swallowing hard. This was his fifth night in a row unable to sleep. They had bought him a bed (well, it was for them both, for their new apartment), but it just...wasn’t comfortable. He didn’t feel good on it. Felt like he was sleeping on a marshmallow. Bucky heard their breathing change and they pushed themselves over the edge, peeking down at him sleepily.

“No bed again?” They asked, their voice thick with sleep. Bucky felt awful waking them up; he knew they had work early the next morning.

“No.” He shook his head, unable to lie to them. “I’m sorry...I tried.” he offered, hoping they wouldn't be upset. He couldn't take them being upset right now.

“Oh god, Buck, don’t even worry about it.” They yawned again and pulled their head back over to the bed. He heard rustling in the sheets and then heard their bare feet hit the hardwood floor on the other side of the bed. They shuffled over to his side, their blanket wrapped around them.

“What are you...” he started to say, more confused than anything.

“Nope. Shh.” They mumbled and curled up next to him on his blanket. “Can we at least make an agreement you’ll sleep on the bed like. Two nights a week?” They asked looking up at him, fighting through a yawn.

“You don’t have to sleep down here.” He said. “I know it’s not comfortable.”

“You know I love you right?” they asked softly touching his cheek.

“You don’t sleep alone anymore. That’s why I’m here.” He stared down at them, confused.

“I...” he started.

“Shh.” they yawned snuggling into the blanket. “We’ll start by getting you used to laying on a yoga mat. Then a camping mat. Then an air mattress.” They shuffled into the pillow, their eyes drifting shut. “Then the memory foam mattress. You’ll never want to sleep on the floor again.” They peeked up at him. “Cuddles please.” They pouted just a little and Bucky felt his heart shatter in his chest. Is this love? True love? What it was supposed to be like? Sure he had girlfriends...a few boyfriends too... but that was over a hundred years ago...and he had never felt this before. “Buck? Are you okay?” He snapped back and they were looking at him, wide eyed and concerned.

“Yeah...sorry. Zoned out.” He said softly and pulled them close kissing their head gently. They traced the lines on his vibranium arm. “I love you.” He breathed into their hair squeezing his eyes shut and pulling them close. They smiled against his skin and closed their eyes.

“I love you more.” They mumbled and slowly fell asleep against him. For the first time that week, Bucky Barnes fell asleep, and didn’t have any nightmares. Or any dreams at all, actually. He just...slept. Finally.

Spending New Year's Eve with your boyfriend

• watching movies and playing video games till midnight

• while watching movies, you cuddle with Peter, no other option

• eating pizza of course

• when it's for a fireworks, he takes you to a large building to watch them with you

• both of you fall asleep before the 2 AM

• Steve is most likely to spend this night with you and only you

• music from his time is playing in the background, while you wait for the midnight

• drinking champagne and eating dinner

• there's a small chance of him falling asleep before the new year, but when it happens, you wake up him or fireworks do it, there's no in between

• Bucky likes to dance or just do anything else than sitting in place

• You can expect him to even take for a walk to the park at 11 PM or baking something

• You can't stop him, so you better join him!

• Watching fireworks is not the thing that he enjoys too much, they are a bit too loud for him and a little remind him of his past

Bucky was almost always the first one awake. Between the military and his time as the Winter Soldier, it had been conditioned into him. Still, it was rare that he actually got out of bed before you. He liked to be there when you woke up. After all, you were cute when you slowly opened your eyes and noticed the light coming into the room.

At least, that was what he said. You were pretty sure you looked like a zombie. But, you couldn’t turn down his compliments.

Today was typical. Bucky woke up and rolled to face you. He reached his arm around your shoulders and settled into the pillows. You woke up at the touch and smiled when you saw his face.

“Morning Bucky.” You mumbled, raising a hand to rub the sleep from your eyes.

“Good morning. Want me to go start some breakfast?” He asked.

“Yes please.”

Bucky swung his legs off the bed, moving quickly for someone who had recently woken up. You didn’t move anywhere near that fast at this hour. He began preparing waffles. As they started cooking and the smell wafted to the bedroom, you decided to get up.

You padded to the kitchen, taking in the sight of your boyfriend hovering over the waffle maker waiting for the next one to be ready. Soft music came from his phone, a playlist you had made for him.

You stepped up behind him, making sure to make some noise, before wrapping your arms around him and propping your chin up on his broad shoulders.

“One’s already done, if you want it.” He offered.

“No thanks.” You replied, shaking your head slightly. “I’ll wait for yours to be ready too.”

Bucky nodded in acknowledgement. As silence fell again, you began swaying slightly to the music playing in the background. Bucky laughed softly but found himself moving in time with you.

You both loved these quiet mornings. Neither of you having to go to work, no apocalyptic disasters for him to help avert. You got to enjoy each other’s company and just be with each other.

The waffle finished cooking and Bucky had to stop swaying so he could grab a fork and put it onto a plate.

“Okay. Now we’re both ready.” He said.

You removed your arms from his waist and slipped around him to pick up your plate. Bucky grabbed the syrup out of the pantry and you grabbed the butter and a knife. Each of you topped the waffle to your own liking then moved to the table.

“So,” Bucky asked as you began cutting into your waffle, “what are the pronouns of the day?”

You put the first bite of waffle into your mouth and chewed pensively for a second. Some days were easier than others to figure out.

“They/them. But if I don’t think that’s working, I’ll let you know.” You told him.

“Got it. Not ‘son-day’ then.” He said.

You frowned for a moment then rolled your eyes.

“Buck I’ve seen that joke and you’re not even my dad.”

“I know. I just wanted to try it out.” He admitted.

“Well, B for effort babe.” Bucky looked up, offended. “You’re clever, I know you can come up with your own.”

“I’ll work on that.”

“Good. I look forward to hearing what you’ve got.”

Bucky smirked and set about cutting up his own waffle.

Bad jokes included, you loved everything about him and were happy to have found someone who loved you for who you were.

“Another waffle?” He asked.

“Why not?”
