Double Legacy Sally Jackson Au
Okay. This has been my head Canon for like, years, imma try to explain the best I can.
So basically Sally is a 4th Generation legacy of the Norse God Loki (25%) and a 6th Generation Legacy of the Roman goddess Venus.
Making Percy not only 50% Greek sea demigod, but also:
20% Norse Trickster/lying/MISDIRECTION 5th gen
and 15% love/pretty as fuck Roman. 7th gen.
His Im/mortality blood split is more like 85/15.
Her parents (Percy's grandparents) died in that airplane crash when she was 5 because Sally's mom was a 3rd gen Loki and was unaware(cuz like apparently Norse demigods don't smell until AFTER they die) and Thor was all like, "heck no get the FUCK out of the sky" and Zappos hammered them to death.
(Percy has a Times 2 weakness to electric types. You think he's scared of ur lighting bolt? When he has to worry about a fucking lightning HAMMER? the answer is yes. To both. But like hammer>spear-bolt)
Sally found out about her heritage like maybe 2 months after her parents died(she inherited these cool norse pirate dagger/half-swords(I swear I can't remember what their called rn UGH), from HER great-grandparent. Percy's great-great grandparent ei: the Loki demigod. Loki gave them to her, and told her what's up.) and then she being the badass hardcore survivor she is, learned everything she ever could about Norse/roman(but also Greek) mythos by the time she's 12.
She meets Poseidon when she's 16.
Then Percy happens when she's 17 almost 18. And she learned from his father while she was carrying, that he would attract monsters.
Since she's related to Loki she has his whole "avoidance/dodge/misdirection can't be caught" thing. (As well as the shape shifting, but she can really only change her gender. But this is not relevant)
Sally, has been alone all her life, she is a SURVIVOR, so she buys an RV/tiny-home on wheels, and covers it absolutely completely buries it in a mix Norse and Egyptian magic-y misdirection runes to hide Percy's scent. She figures if she uses multiple mythos, it will be harder for Them to find her baby.
so there is no Gabe. Percy grows up even more of a mamas boy than canon.
She teaches Percy all about all the mythos, but like she does it in a very avoidance way that he knows NONE of their names like "the Greek sun god did this" or "the Roman sun god did that" and teaches him never to think their names "so they can't here you"
The changes in Percy's powers:
1: Since he's still Poseidon's kid but also now son of a legacy of the SHAPESHIFTER he can shapeshift, but only into a merperson, and only when he's wet. (Also he's genderfluid)
Sally teaches him to keep himself dry, he HATES it but understands that he needs to be sneaky, this first happens when he's like 7. And it doesn't happen during the full moon cuz like "the moon controls the tides" and what not. Yes, he is bioluminescent. Blueish/green aquamarine glowy mermaid fins!! His scales are either black or so dark indigo that they Look black.
2: Since he's a legacy of Venus, 7th gen notwithstanding cuz he has the 50% from the sea to make him stronger, he can do the charmspeaking, well... CharmSinging like a siren. When he was like 5 there was this really close call cuz when he sings one of two things happen. Either A: the default of "everyone in hearing range that isn't related to aphro/Venus is suddenly attracted to him, or b: people fall asleep. option a is the one that happened, he has to focus to get people to sleep. Sally is a smart cookie, she realized what was happening and decked the guy in the face before he could do anything to the baby 5 year old Percy. Sally then bans Percy from singing (at least around other ppl)
He HATES it. He loves to sing! but he understands enough to understand that sing around ppl is dangeours. This also happened when he was seven, but before the tail thing.
Sally, trying to hide Percy's heritage, and getting inspired from the Avatar the last airbender cartoon, trys to teach percy to only attack with "ice-bending" as to misdirect suspicions.
She tells him to "try and make the water stiff and cold"
He hates it. And how it feels "The sea doesn't like to be restricted" and what not, but like he trusts his mom, she's super cool and smart so he goes along with it, and OMG he gets cool water powers??? Like Katara?! From his favorite cartoon??? Best 10th birthday ever!
Ugh I can't remember if I'm forgetting anything, oh wait right. He can sense when people are trying to trick him. It's like a little itch I the back of his head. His mom can too, so they end up having these conversations where neither one is TECHNICALLY Lying, but like not telling the whole truth and shenanigans. Ei: "your father is lost at sea" does not ping his built in lie detector. So he's really REALLY Good at lying without lying. (Like what fae so in fairytales)
Because of this Percy thinks his dad is a mermaid. Percy is unaware that he is a demigod, he ony thinks his mom is a history-mythos nut. And that his mom is hiding him due to the myth of "if u cut out a mermaids eye and eat it you become immortal"
ugh thats all I can remember rn I'll edit it later.
Oh wait I just remembered since Percy's blood split is 85/15 he kinda can't really be referred to as a Half-blood. That is waaay more than half. Since like Frank blood split is 49/51 he can still be described as half. In other words,
IN THIS AU NICO IS ONE OF THE SEVEN.
and I also ship percico.
All of this is to say it leads to a dramatic scene outside of the doors of death where nico is like nico: "you have to go your one of the seven!"
And Percy is like
Percy: "nope I'm not 50/50 I'm 85/15 that's waaay more than half.....blood"
Nico: "but I can't leave u here"
it's more dramatic in my head and they are not dating by this point, But it's like mutual pining. Percy then kisses him and then pushes him into the elevator in his shock. Tells him to use his wish when he saves the world to use Persephone keyblade to get him and Bob out of Tartarus.
Then since this Percy is op and has seen alta, he blood bends all the rivers in the ground into spikey ice shards cutting the actual Tartarus(not his mortal plain body that Bob and friendly giant guy is fighting while Percy holds the button, but like the actual ground.) into 1000 pieces. And kills him. Like the sky primordial. He also killed poison lady. Btw. I'm so tired ugh what else. They are now stuck in Hell: frozen over.
Percy's logic for cutting up Tartarus with his own insides was as follows:
70% of the mortal human Body is made of Water.
70% of the earth is covered in a Body of Water.
The earth is Gaea, a primordial.
Mortal humans were based on gods.
And gods are descendants of primordials.
It takes a mortal and a god to kill a giant.
it took multiple titans (and a primordial to trick) to kill the sky primordial. His body was cut into 1000 pieces.
Ei: saltwater is Gaea's blood. And so are the rivers. I mean their called Bloodstreams for a reason.
A mortal a titan and a giant kill Tartarus.
Gaea was right about one thing Percy will admit.
If u want to to rid your garden of weeds, you have to rip out the roots.

Okay, so I've been thinking lately.
Every day, I see posts on Tumblr or elsewhere that drive me insane. For example, the other day I saw a post about how Bail Organa from Star Wars is actually a terrible because he was a leader of the Rebel Alliance, and claimed that the Rebels only care about a few core worlds and only wanted money from the rest. Which, okay, maybe that's a thing from Kenobi, I haven't seen it yet, but I've seen a thousand Kenobi posts and I feel like I would have seen a bunch of posts about how terrible Bail was if it was a thing, and this was the only one. Also, really did not like the "Bail Organa is the worst person in the galaxy" thing they had going on when he consistently fought against fascism.
As you can tell, I have lots of feelings about this. But what did I do? I typed it out on a post here. That person will probably never know I don't like their post. But I have noticed more and more often that people do not seem to know how to leave people be anymore.
People keep reblogging, replying, or sending anon hate over disagreements. I'm going to use Loki (2021) as an example. The amount of times I have seen this in this fandom drives me insane. Usually it's pro-series fans responding to anti-series fans in rude ways. Anon hate, hateful reblogs, etc. But I have seen the reverse as well. Both sides are capable of hate, I just have seen more hate from one side than the other.
That isn't to say pros and antis can't interact at all. You can politely explain your views, and try to provide as much sincerity as possible. Nothing wrong there. And if you get hateful responses to your opinions, like a reblog trying to tear you to shreds, I see no problem in you responding and telling them to f*ck off, and also here's why you're wrong (at that point, they asked for it, I don't care too much what you say). I'm talking about purposely causing discourse and arguments by being rude and attacking others.
And if you don't want to see pro-series stuff or vice versa, you can block tags and users? It isn't that hard. And if you're following them, you can simply unfollow them. When the series came out, want to know what I did? I unfollowed people that had opinions that were upsetting and were obnoxious about it. I didn't have to deal with that, so I didn't. I don't think I blocked anyone (I only block people harassing me usually), but I got them off my dash.
And I don't know why this is so hard for people to figure out. Don't be jerks. If you're really upset, block tags and users. Be polite during interactions you may have. But this is a general problem every website and every fandom has. And maybe it's just me, but I don't think we should be harassing people. Heck, even if the piece of media is, without a doubt, horrendously offensive, that gives you no right to harass someone. I personally would just block them because I doubt anything I say will change their mind, but if you want to try to convince someone, go for it. But that doesn't give the right to call people slurs or other forms of harassment. I don't see why this is so hard, but the Internet cannot figure this one out.

Y/F/N - Your Friend’s Name
Tumblr media
It was a beautiful autumn’s day, crisp brown leaves were falling off of the large trees in the courtyard and scattering the cobbled ground. Loki and I had been wandering around for some time now, discussing everything from the books we’ve been reading to the dreams that have come to us in our sleep.
“And then this huge ghost thing was chasing me around the halls! and if that wasn’t weird enough, you popped up-”
“Ah, seeing me in your dreams are we, darling?”  Loki chuckled, taking great pleasure at the fact that he had made an appearance in my subconscious, completely ignoring my distress at being chased by a supernatural being.
“Funny you should say that, right after seeing you, I woke up. The sight must’ve given me quite the scare.” I scoffed, a smile unable to stop itself from making its way onto my face, eyes meeting his, face etched with shock. With a hand to his chest, he spoke again in disbelief.
“You have truly offended me, love. I never knew you had this side to you.”
“What can I say? I’m a woman of many talents.” I winked, nudging his side slightly with my elbow.
“Really? Can you produce illusions?”
“No.”
“Look inside other people’s heads?”
“Well, no, but-”
“Turn yourself into a snake to scare your eight year old brother?”
“I still can’t believe you did that”
“My greatest achievement yet.” He smirked, the memory never failing to amuse him.
His stories always had me in awe of his capabilities, even if it was to give his brother a long-term fear, it was still an incredible talent. Whenever he tells me of his latest adventures or tricks, I always think of how well his title fits him. God of Mischief. Maybe that’s why I liked him much more than what a best friend should, not that I'd ever admit it. Not to him anyway.
We soon found ourselves standing next to one of the windows of the hallway, the crystal clear glass giving a beautiful view of the city of Asgard. From here, you could see the Queen’s gardens, full of flowers in all different colours and types, grass cut to perfection. You could see the families in the town, walking around the different buildings, children playing. It was lovely to watch, seeing everyone enjoy the seasonal weather and the light bounce off of the windows, it was ethereal.
“I never get tired of this.” I sighed, voice only slightly above a whisper
“Tired of what, love?”
“Just, this. This view, this kingdom, it’s incredible.” I looked up at Loki, trying to see if he was seeing the same beauty that I did. He was already looking at me when I met his eyes and upon seeing the way they sparkled, I assumed he did.
“Actually, speaking of the Kingdom, I have something to tell you. There’s-”
Abruptly stopping him from continuing his sentence, voices were heard from the other end of the hallway, though we couldn’t make out the words until they came closer. We gave each other a quick look of confusion before turning to see where the commotion was coming from, hearing the quick and heavy footsteps before being able to put names to the faces.
“Loki! Y/N!” A deep voice bellowed. Was that Thor making all of that noise?
Before I could process any more information, a blur of a pastel pink dress was in my face and hands were placed on my shoulders. I smiled down at the slightly out of breath figure using me as a support stand, it was Y/F/N.
“Wow, Y/F/N, you sound much different than when I spoke to you yesterday, did you drink something funny?” I chuckled, receiving a glare from my friend and a quiet laugh from the God beside me. Thor soon appeared next to Y/F/N, hands on his hips and head thrown back as he tried to compose himself.
“My God, Y/F/N, you run fast.” He pants.
“Care to tell us why you’re both running like madmen through the palace?” Loki speaks, one eyebrow raised in curiosity and what looked a little like concern.
“We..had to..tell you..there’s a ball..next week.” Y/F/N spoke, a bit more stable now, but still in between breaths.
I felt my eyes widen, a ball? I didn’t know Asgard held balls.
“Father is opening up the palace next week to neighbouring kingdoms, in hopes to be closer with them, open Asgard up to more trade opportunities, build relationships and whatnot.” Thor explained, emitting a loud sigh to come from Loki.
“I was just about to tell her, brother. Thank you for interrupting.” He rolled his eyes, half joking, half serious. I reached up and patted his shoulder gently, a small smile on my face.
“Maybe next time Lok” He nodded in response, I didn’t get a chance to comfort him much more before I was being pulled away by Y/F/N. With a small huff of surprise, I gave Loki a glance, silently apologising for our conversation being cut short, receiving a shake of his head in reply, affirming me to not worry about it.
“So.” she begins. “We need to find you a date and a dress. I’m thinking blue. I’m wearing purple so it’s probably best to avoid that one. Hmm. let’s see..oh! I know! we could- Y/N? You listening?” I snapped my head around, not missing the sly smile that was plastered all over my friend’s face.
“Y/F/N, don’t-”
“Loki! He has to be your date. You could wear green and match! If he’s even going to wear green, I'm sure I can get Thor to find out, I assume they’ll get ready together. And black accessories! I have so many ideas.” She clapped her hands, over-excited about the opportunity to plan this evening for us. Except for one minor detail.
“That sounds great, Y/F/N, it sounds wonderful, you’re just missing something.”
“Missing something? Oh, if you mean our hair then i’ve already-”
“No, not our hair. Loki hasn’t asked me, and I doubt he will.” I spoke, the second half coming out more as a whisper, my heart dropping a little at the thought. He’d never really expressed having those kinds of feelings for me and I'd always seen him be close with different girls around the palace, he’ll probably ask one of them.
“He might ask you, you never know what’s around the corner.”
“I guess so, we’ll have to wait and see.”
And that was the last we spoke of it before she went into full planner mode again, while I continued to ponder over all of the thoughts running through my head. I mean, he could ask me, right?
--------------------------
He didn’t.
After talking about it with Y/F/N, I had a glimmer of hope that maybe I was wrong, maybe I hadn’t noticed something that she had, that Loki would approach me and ask me to be his company for the evening.
I spent the next couple of days with him, hoping he would ask me, everytime a pause would appear in conversation, maybe he was finally going to do it. And everytime, a little bit of the hope I had, had fizzled out.
I’d even considered other reasons as to why he hadn’t asked, maybe the King didn’t want him and Thor to have dates so that they could mingle with members of the other kingdoms. Of course that theory had flown right out one of the Palace’s windows when Y/F/N told me that Thor was going to be her date. I was right then, he wasn’t wanting to go with me.
I guess I understood, I’m the best friend, we’d always been that. I think a part of me just thought that maybe he, like me, wanted something a little more. Clearly, I was mistaken.
Y/F/N and I had been getting ready for a while now, our hair was styled to perfection, our dresses were on and both of us were fully accessorized. We were looking at ourselves in the mirror, doing spins and curtseys and gushing over how good the other looked.
“You look amazing tonight, Y/N, really. Loki is missing out.”
“Thank you, and I'm sure his date is beautiful.” I spoke, fidgeting with the fabric of my dress, trying to avoid the subject and the twisting knot in my stomach at the thought of him with someone else all night. “You look incredible! You were right to pick purple, it’s definitely your colour.”
“Y/N’s right, you look gorgeous.” Thor declared, leaning against the doorway sporting a black suit and a dark purple tie, the perfect match with his date’s dress. I could feel my eyes light up when seeing how happy the simple, yet effective comment had made Y/F/N. Rushing over, she engulfed Thor in a hug before leaning up slightly and giving him a peck on the cheek.
“Ah and can’t forget, Y/N, you look stunning tonight.” He gestured to me, arm almost scanning me up and down.
“Stop, you’ll make me blush.” I laughed. “You both head off, I’ll catch up.”
“Are you sure? We don’t mind waiting?” Y/F/N questioned.
“Don’t be silly. You guys go on ahead, I'll meet you there.”
With a nod and a wave, they were off. They really did look like a perfect match tonight. I continued to look at myself in the mirror, fixing any stray hairs, flattening any kinks in my dress. Realistically, I was probably trying to prolong leaving for as long as I could. I was excited, but I was turning up on my own while everyone else had someone, it was a bit nerve-wracking. I still wanted to look my best though.
“Stop trying to convince yourself that you look good, you could literally blow an army of men away by looks alone.” A voice spoke, I spun to see who was speaking, the flash of green was enough to decipher who it was.
“You look lovely tonight, darling.” He grinned, the pet name had set off butterflies in my stomach.
“Thank you. As do you.”
“Well, I did put in an effort, nice to know it’s appreciated.” He joked, a breathy laugh left my lips, entertained by his words.
“Yes, well, I'm sure plenty of others will too.”
“The eyes will never leave me, I'm sure. Unless they’re on you, then I'd be surprised if I get even so much as a glimpse in my direction. Someone is a very lucky guy tonight, that’s for sure.”
“Why do you say that?” I asked, confused by his statement.
“Well, they get to be beside you all evening, it’s a beautiful view.” He winked.
It could’ve been you, I thought. I knew he was joking, however that didn’t stop the fire in me from igniting.
“I could say the same for you, someone is a very lucky girl.”
“I’ll be sure to let her know if she ever thinks otherwise.” Joking, again.
So he had asked someone. Albeit disappointed, I'm happy he’s happy. Though I still wish I was the girl in question, I couldn't stop him if he was interested in someone else. That wasn’t fair.
Giving him a brief nod and a tight lipped smile, I picked up the front of my dress a little bit and made my way out of the room and downstairs to the ball. I could still enjoy myself, the night is young, I've got this.
------------------
“It was crazy! And let me tell you, my dad was so angry with me. He didn’t let me serve Turkey again after that year.” Charlie, a guy that I had met an hour or so ago, finished his story of the Christmas horror he had, allowing me to relax for the first time that evening. Up until now, it had felt like all I’d seen was either happy couples, or stares from across the room. Usually the second and usually Loki. The same Loki who had a girl’s arm linked with his and was looking at him like he held the world in his grasp. I broke the gaze, finding it difficult to look at the pair for any longer, as I turned back to Charlie so he could have my attention again, a lazy smile was present as he took a sip of his wine.
“I don’t blame him, really, it sounds like you started a riot!” I exclaimed, sending us both into a full on belly laugh, thinking back to the story. This continued for another five or so minutes, laughter turning into a low chuckle, as if we were about to be told off for how loud we were being. Just as my hand had reached his arm to help hold me up, saving me from laughing myself into the ground, Loki and his date had made their way over.
“Enjoying ourselves, I hope?” He beamed, taking one look at me before giving his full attention to Charlie.
“Yes, yes we are, thank you. How about the two of you?”
“Ye-”
“It’s been fine, yeah, good. So, what’s your name then?” Loki interrupted, his date having no choice but to leave him to respond instead.
“I’m Charlie Fernsby.” He held his hand out, greeting Loki. A gesture that was very awkwardly not reciprocated as he let his hand fall back to his side before Loki spoke up again.
“Charlie..Charlie, now, isn’t that a girl’s name?”
“Loki!” I scolded, giving him an evil side glance, what was he doing?
“No, no it’s okay. Yeah, it can be used for girls too, but it's common for boys to have the name Charlie.” Polite as ever, he responded. A mischievous look made its way onto the God’s face. Oh no.
“So, I take it your parents wanted a girl?”
“I- I’m sorry?”
“I assume your parents wanted a girl, considering they’ve given you a girl’s name?” I rolled my eyes, this teasing was unnecessary.
“Charlie, let’s go and get a drink.” I tried to tug him away, only to be halted by another sentence leaving my best friend’s mouth.
“It was only a question, I'm sure he doesn’t mind answering, do you Carl?”
“Charlie.”
“That’s what I said.”
“You said-” I tried to interject, but he was quick to stop me
“I know what I said, Y/N, but I'm speaking to him. Let him answer the question.”
Loki’s date was long gone by now, she’d left to speak to another group of people, presumably another few couples, leaving us three to have this discussion, thing, whatever you would think to call it.
“I’m just saying, maybe they would’ve preferred a daughter, seeing as they’ve very obviously made that clear.” He beamed, expecting me to join in and agree with him, I don’t find this funny. At all.
“Can you excuse us, Charlie? Loki, A word.” I pointed to the door, giving him a look implying for him not to test me.
“I’m in trouble. Wish me luck Carlos.”
“Charlie.”
“I know, that’s what I said.”
I pushed him all the way out the door, into the hallway and round the corner so as not to disturb everyone else’s evening. When I’d made sure there was no one else around, I looked up at the Asgardian, my arms crossed, eyebrows furrowed, I wasn’t impressed anymore.
“So, are we out here for some hide or seek, or?”
“What the hell was that in there?!” I raised my voice slightly, his need to always make everything a joke wasn’t working this time. He had his night, his date, he didn’t need to come over and insult mine.
“What was what, darling? I was making conversation.”
“You were making fun of him.”
“No, I showed some concern about his parents choices, that’s all. Friendly advice if anything.” He looked a bit more frustrated with me now, as though he was stating the obvious and it was going over my head. I wasn’t having it this time.
“No, Loki. You weren’t and you know you weren’t. You had your date, she was fine, you were fine-”
“Well-”
“Let me finish. Everything was fine. Until you caught sight of me having a friendly conversation with another guy who wasn’t you. But guess what Lok, I’m allowed to do that! I’m an adult, I can speak with whoever I like!” My arms were all over the place now, my frustration was starting to show itself, it seems I had a bit pent up.
I saw his lips move, I heard something, but it was so quiet I couldn't make it out.
“Speak up, Loki. I can’t hear you.”
“I said, if you think he was just being friendly, you’re clearly out of your mind.”
Is he serious?
“Are you- Loki, you have no right to make a judgement on who and how and why I interact with other people. Not that it should matter to you anyway, you’ve spoken to other women before and I've never said a word or tried to stop you. Why does this matter so much?”
Silence.
“No, please, go on, tell me, enlighten me as to why this bothered you so much tonight, because trust me, I'm dying to know, truly.” I was shouting now, I just wanted answers for his behaviour, I didn’t think it would be this difficult.
His hands had made his way into his trouser pockets, eyes looking everywhere before settling on mine. He looked conflicted, I wanted to drop it when I saw his troubled gaze, but I couldn’t go back in there without an explanation.
“Ple-”
“I like you, okay? Is that what you wanted to hear, love? That I was so uncomfortable seeing some you get close with some guy that I had to embarrass him in front of you? Something I'm sure my father won’t be so impressed to hear, but there, you’ve got your confession.” His voice had gone much louder than mine, taking me by surprise, so much so that it took me a minute to process what he had said. He liked me?
He turned to leave, I assume because I hadn't said anything for a matter of minutes, but I gently grabbed his arm, tugging him back towards me. I looked up into his eyes again. I was so close that you could see the specs of different colours spotted in them, they were flawless. This view beats the Asgard view anyday.
“Why didn’t you mention this before?”
He shrugged, “I don’t know. Worried I guess. We’d never spoken of moving past friendship and I didn’t think you’d be interested.”
“I’m more than interested, Loki.” I grinned, my smile meeting my eyes, never leaving his.
“Not Chelsey?”
“For the love, it’s Ch-”
I couldn’t say his name, a certain pair of lips had stopped me from doing so. As they molded against mine, my hands went up to tangle themselves in his hair, his hands falling to my waist and pulling me closer, I didn’t even think that could be possible. We pulled away when we needed to catch a breath, foreheads falling against each other, smiles painted on both of our faces.
“I bet I'll be in your dreams again tonight.” He whispered.
“I bet I'll be in yours.”
“Always are, Darling. Always are.”

Summary; The Avengers leave Loki under you care to lock him up. Takes place aftermath of Avengers.
Loki huffed as you yanked onto his long, dark hair to drag him past the long grey corridor. He had disappeared under the supervision of ten men, and you happened to be the one who found him. Now, the Avengers trusted you to lock him up while they discussed his fate with the government.
You wanted to kill yourself for not taping his mouth. This man talked nonstop, especially because he was well-aware of how badly it pissed you off. He enjoyed it when you slapped him five minutes ago. He wanted you to do it again.
"You know, back in Asgard, we—"
"I don't care," you harshly stated, pushing him into his cold cell. You stood right outside as you typed the passcode into the keypad attached to the doorframe. Once it beeped red, you reached for the door to close.
Just as you were pulling it, his foot kicked it back open as he grabbed your waist to yank you inside. You were shoved to the ground where you watched in horror the steel door slam on his face.
By the time Loki turned to look at you, you were already standing and pointing a loaded gun at him. He hid his smirk as he brought his hands up. "I'm sorry, darling. I didn't mean to hurt you. Trust me, you would've been safe—" With your foot on his stomach, you kicked him into the door.
Loki slid down, over exaggerating for the strength you hit him with. He just wanted to see you dominant, he was afraid of how much that would turn him on though.
You glared down at him, shooting, but missing on purpose. He shuddered as he stared at the bullet fall on the ground. The metal was strong and the bullet only left a bare mark on the door. "YOU'RE INSANE!" He shouted angrily to not show his fear.
"Maybe," you say with a smirk as you crouch down, "you're just afraid because of who's in control." You place the muzzle right on his forehead.
Days ago, he had no clue what this black object did until you shot his leg. Now it terrified him as recalled the pain and it made him tremble. That it wasn't the pain he enjoyed was all he knew.
You chuckle as you bring yourself forward to fall on his lap with the muzzle now tilting his chin up. He stares up at you in amusement with his hands raised above his shoulders again.
A grin grows on your lips as you feel him getting hard under you. It made your ego boost up way too high. Knowing how badly you turned him on, you lean down to place your chin on his shoulder. "Do I turn you on?" You whisper in his ear, enjoying as his breath hitched.
He didn't answer — you don't like that. You sit up straight, catching him off-guard as you abruptly slap him across the face. He looks away, tilting his view down while you admire his side profile. Your index finger traces his jaw, making him look back up at you. He nods to your previous question.
Loki attempts to place his hand on your hip, but you slap it away. You lock and slide the gun across the room to look back at him. He didn't know how to use it either way. Licking his bottom lip, he watches you stand up to explain, "You're going to eat me out as I sit on that bench, darling."
You go and sit on the wide bench as you had said and he crawls to kneel between your legs. You slouch into the wall with your forearms holding you up, gesturing at him your consent. Loki takes control as he leans down to fold your tank top past your belly button to begin placing kisses along your waist as he unbuttons your jeans.
Your breathing gets a bit heavier as he unzips your pants, continuing his kisses. As he undresses you from the waist down, you forget how wrong this is. Suddenly, when you least expect it, you find yourself with the prisoners face hidden between your inner-thighs as he gifts you pleasure.
Your fingers grasp on his hair. The gel had been washed down when you hosed him down. You had seen him naked and was hoping to again. His hair was smooth in your hand and his tongue felt amazing as he reached placed that made you faintly moan. Then you realize, this cell is soundproof.
You still don't want him to feel to special at how good he was doing you. His fingers toying with your clit before he sucked on it. That drove you over the edge to moan. Not only moan, but moan out his name. His chuckle in satisfaction sent vibrations that only made you moan once more.
This was your best shift, you told yourself as you felt yourself coming. You arch your back, wrapping your legs around him to move his head forward. He groaned against your parts, finally getting you into your climax. You were at the verge, rolling your eyes back to release it.
You panted as you tried to sit up by the slightest, but stayed still as his tongue cleaned off your cum.
Loki finishes and looks up at you with his eyebrows raised as he faked an innocent look. You pant, nodding. "Not bad for a prisoner." He smirks and abruptly yanks you forward. Before you could even drop on your ass, Loki flips you around.
You kneel in front of him as he pushes your chest down to raise your hips up and bring both of your wrists behind your back. Now he has your chest pressed against the bench as you gasp from Loki harshly spanking you.
Not many words are exchanged as he spreads your legs and tugs down his pants. His chin rested on your shoulder as he found the right angle to jolt his hips to and enter you.
Loki held onto the nape of your neck and your hip as he began fucking you. "Whore," he grunted, making his hips thrust his cock in deep, "letting the prisoner do these things to you."
That only turned you on again. Your bottom lip was tucked between your teeth so I wouldn't moan again. It was all being stuffed in your throat as he moved his hand off your hip for his fingers to begin rubbing your pussy in quick circles.
With malicious intentions, he slipped two fingers inside of you to repeatedly thrust them in and out along with hips. He just wanted to get those moans out of you, along with the tears dripping down to your throat as his fingers curled inside of you.
"L-Loki," you let out a shaky breath as you let your head fall back into his chest. "What is it, love?" His head was right next to yours as he went back to massaging your clit and thrusting his hips. Was he not getting tired?
"I'm cumming," you whispered, then abruptly grabbed his wrist to stop him. You lean forward as let your orgasm control you. Loki stared down at you, burying himself in you as he experienced his own orgasm. He rolled his eyes back, grunting in pleasure.
You finished and just kneeled there, panting and trying to explain to yourself what the hell you just did. He was under your supervision and you let him give you head, finger you, fuck you, and spank you. The worst part was that you enjoyed it while it lasted.
Loki became gentle with you again. He slowly pulled out to tuck himself in and pull his pants up. You placed you hands on the edge of the bench to try to stand up, but he saw you struggling and stood up to help you. He knelt again to grab your underwear and slip it up your legs.
You were still too much in shock to refuse to let him dress you. You, a human, had sex with a god.
Once you were fully clothed again, you sat on the bench and he sat beside you, placing his hand over yours. "I guess we're stuck here," he said, looking over at you, "You have any more positions you would like to try out, love?"

The following afternoon, the entire team is back at the compound and doing a team training session. You, Steve, and Bucky use the opportunity to announce your engagement. Your teammates are excited and hugs and well wishes surround you.
“Can I be the flower girl?” Wanda jokes as she hugs you.
“Dizzy’s already claimed that honor,” you laugh.
“Alright, alright! Let’s get to work. We need to be in perfect sync for the mission.” Steve redirects everyone’s attention.
“You got it, Cap!” you salute him as you get into position. Two hours later, you break from the drills and begin to disburse when you pull up your phone. “What the hell?” you say as you see your social media had blown up with comments and messages. You pull up your feed and begin reading. You can feel the color drain from your face.
“Doll, are you okay?” Bucky is the first to notice you frozen in shock.
“I… the… I don’t understand.” You feel like throwing up reading the words whore, slut, and many other disgusting slurs left on your account. Bucky pulls your phone from your hand and looks at it.
“What the fuck?” He yells.
Steve speeds over and looks at the phone that Bucky holds out to him.
“I don’t understand,” you say again, trembling. Bucky puts his arms around you.
“Uhhh, guys,” Tony says as he pulls up a video.
The spokesman for one of the biggest celebrity tabloids flashes a picture of Steve and Bucky on the screen and says, “Speculation has always run wild on the love life of Captain America, Steve Rogers, and The Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes, but they’ve always kept it hush-hush. Now, a source close to the Avengers has come forward to give us the down and dirty details. Allegedly, our shield throwing hero doesn’t have just a girlfriend, but a boyfriend as well. Way to play both sides, Captain. We’ve been told that Captain America is dating none other than his two teammates, The Winter Soldier and Artemis, the newest member of the Avengers.”
“Artemis! The fuck?” you exclaim as a picture of the three of you is displayed on the screen.
“Seen here at one of Tony Stark’s exclusive parties, the three have allegedly been dating for several months. But, according to our source, two men aren’t enough for the voracious Artemis, she’s also in a relationship with none other than the villainous Loki of Asgard,” the spokesman continues. Another picture from the party flashes up of you and Loki laughing together. Your stomach is rolling as this apparently isn’t the end of the slanderous story, “Artemis, an Inhuman with the skills of a linguist and animal trainer, joined the team a year ago and has apparently had her hooks in every man she’s come across since then. Our source claims she had affairs with Tony Stark, Clint Barton, and Sam Wilson before settling on the three she dates now. There is also some speculation surrounding the death of her first husband. Is she the real black widow of the Avengers?”
The video ends and you clutch your stomach, “I’m gonna be sick.” Running to the bathroom, you barely make it to the toilet before you lose your lunch. Bucky and Steve are right behind you.
“Doll, it’s okay. It’s gonna be okay.” Bucky soothes as he rubs your back.
You sit back against the wall and begin to sob. Steve pulls you into his lap and Bucky’s arms surround you both.
“It’s gonna be okay, sweetheart. We’ll fix this.” Steve says as he rubs your back.
“We’ll get through it, doll. Whatever we have to do. We won’t let this stand.” Bucky reassures you.
When the sobs begin to subside, you look at the two of them and nod. They help you stand and you wash out your mouth. When you return, the team is still standing around together.
“Okay, kids. Artie is on his way and formulating a plan as we speak to work this out. We’ll demand a retraction of the slander. The PR team is going through your social media and deleting and blocking any negative comments. There are several groups who are rallying behind you all and your relationship. We’ve got your back, kid.” Tony puts a hand on your shoulder and you nod weakly.
Wanda hugs you and you nearly break down again. Natasha looks as if she’s plotting murder with Clint. You notice Sam is missing.
“Let’s go to our room and rest until Artie gets here. It’ll probably be a long meeting.” Bucky suggests.
“Yeah, okay,” you follow his lead out. Shortly after the three of you get to your room there’s a knock on the door. Steve opens it and lets Sam into the room.
“I, uh… I’m so sorry.” Sam stutters uncharacteristically and can’t quite meet your eyes.
“Kaziah,” you state.
“Yeah. I’m pretty sure. I’m so sorry. I swear I never said anything like that to her. I would never disrespect you like that.” Sam explains.
“It’s not your fault, Sam,” you reassure him.
“But I did tell her about you guys. And how you lost Charlie and became an Inhuman. I’m so sorry.”
“You trusted her. I’m so sorry she betrayed you like that,” you hug Sam’s neck. “I know you must be so hurt that she did that. Maybe she was jealous about our torrid love affair.”
Sam breaks a smile, “I do have a way with the ladies.”
“Your spirit is unbreakable. Already cracking jokes,” Steve puts his arms around you.
“I think it’s laugh or cry at this point. I’d rather laugh. I’m sure there will be more tears later,” you say. “I need a shower.”
“That’s my cue to leave.” Sam quips.
“Sam,” you call.
“Can you tell Tony, please? He can probably find out for sure.”
“Yeah. Of course.” Sam exits.
“Alright, doll. Let’s get that shower.” Bucky pulls you into the bathroom. You stand under the spray minutes later with Bucky and Steve on each side of you. You wash each other gently, sharing soft touches and loving caresses. No matter what anyone ever says about your relationship and your love, you will never give up these two men. The loves of your life.
Your stomach twists for a moment. Loving Steve and Bucky does not negate your love of Charlie. The accusation of killing him was what hurt more than anything else. If it hadn’t been for Terrigenisis you would still most likely be happily married to Charlie. It reaffirms to you that perhaps there really is a reason that everything happens. Which means there is a reason for this happening. You just couldn’t figure out what it was quite yet.
“Team meeting in the conference room, immediately.” Friday chimes into your thoughts.
Ten minutes later, the team is sitting around the conference table facing Artemus "Artie" Pithins, Director of Public Relations, and Tony.
“We apparently have another Artemis now.” Artie chuckles as he greets you.
“Wasn’t my decision but if it means I am as formidable as you I’m honored,” you smile as you shake Artie’s hand.
“Charming under pressure. I love it. We’ll get through this.” Artie reassures you. When everyone is seated Artie addresses the team, “I’d like to begin by telling you all, we have confirmed the source of the leak and that person is being dealt with accordingly. Next, I give this story no credence, but I do need to go through it piece by piece to confirm what is truth and what is lies.”
“We understand.” Steve affirms.
“Are you in a polyamorous relationship as described?” Artie addresses Steve.
“Yes,” Steve replies.
“I see. Sgt. Barnes and our newly dubbed Artemis are your boyfriend and girlfriend?” Artie asks.
“No, they’re my fiancees.” Steve counters.
“Oh, Congratulations.” Artie’s wheels are turning as he continues down his list of questions. He turns to you next, “Are you in any type of relationship with Prince Loki Odinson?”
“He’s a close friend and my training partner,” you say calmly.
“But no romantic relationship now or previously?” Artie confirms.
“No,” you reply.
“Mr. Stark, are you now or have you ever been in a sexual relationship-”
“No, never.” Tony interrupts rolling his eyes.
“Mr. Bar-”
“No,” Clint says curtly.
“Also, no.” Sam pipes in before the question can be asked.
“And the last claim I won’t even dignify. That will be retracted with an apology if I have anything to say about it. I know this is not the most couth question but I need to ask. Have any of the three of you had a sexual relationship with another teammate?” Artie states.
“No,” the three of you say practically in unison.
“Well, then I think we have the perfect solution already in the works. We’ll need the two of you to do a couple of interviews to dispel the rumors and we’ll use that time to also announce the wedding of Captain America and Artemis.” Artie smiles at you.
“You mean the three of us, Captain America, The Winter Soldier, and Artemis,” you say.
“The polyamorous relationship is not going to play well, but if we can shift the story from that relationship to the romance that grew out of you joining the team and throw a spectacular wedding, we’ll have nothing to worry about it,” Artie explains.
“No,” you say, looking between Steve and Bucky.
“Let’s reconvene in two hours. Take the time to discuss it. You have a lot to consider.” Artie closes the meeting.
Back in your room, you sit on the couch with your head in your hands.
“Doll?” Steve sits beside you and puts a hand on your back.
You look up at him, “Do you want to go through with this charade? Leave Bucky out of the ceremony? Everything this entails?”
“I’m pretty sure I’d be best man in Stevie’s wedding no matter what,” Bucky tries to lighten the mood.
“You should be a groom in it, baby,” you counter.
“I know, I know, doll,” Bucky sits on the other side of you, “But it’d just be a show for the public. We can have a ceremony with just our friends after. Or before. However you want.”
“Is that what you think, Stevie?” you ask.
“Here’s what I’m thinking…”

It's just a little thunder
Summary : “You are scared of the thunder aren’t you?” you asked gently and Loki nodded quickly. “Please don’t laugh at me,” he whispered and you shook your head. “I would never do that, don’t worry,” You bent down and kissed his forehead.

Loki wasn’t scared of many things; he was a big and tough god after all. If you asked anyone who knew him, what they think he was scared of, they would probably say, ‘Oh, he’s scared of something trivial like shopping alone,’ and when you ask them why they would just shrug and say ‘Don’t know, he just seems like the type.’ The other version would be something more simple and common. ‘Oh, he’s scared of death.’ And even though both of those might be slightly true, there is one thing he’s scared of more than anything. And if he has to be honest, it is slightly embarrassing to admit it.
Loki was scared of thunders. As far as his memory could reach, he was always scared of them. There weren’t many people who knew, only a handful. He didn’t like to share that part of himself with the world, or any for that matter.
Only Frigga and Thor knew. He didn’t tell anyone else, maybe because he didn’t have anyone. That was until you came along.
You met Loki when his brother dragged him down to Earth for a visit. You were working in the Avenger’s tower as a cleaner, just to get some money along studying at college. Tony Stark paid some good money and gave hella good bonuses.
You nearly bumped into Loki when you were vacuuming the floor and didn’t hear him come into the room over the music playing in your ears. You apologized and the pair of you quickly hit it off. It didn’t take a lot of time, and you started some kind of relationship only after 3 months of knowing each other.
This unlabeled thing went on for about 4 months before you asked Loki what exactly you were.
“I want to be your lover, your partner I just didn’t know when was a good time to bring this up to you,” he scratched the back of his neck and tried to explain himself, before you kissed him softly, just to shut him up.
He would go on for his whole, life completely content with you not knowing about his stupid fear. But he just couldn’t have good things, no. His life wouldn’t allow that.
One time, when he came to visit you, a storm suddenly started. It came out of nowhere and the electricity in your whole apartment building went out. You, of course, were used to this. It happened very often. Loki on the other hand was scared shitless.
“I swear I put the torch somewhere here,” you mumbled as you rummaged through the boxes in your closet.
“Loki can you please go into the bathroom and try to find some candles? I can’t find the light.” You asked. Before you could get a response, a thunderbolt struck the ground and a deep rumble sounded through the city.
Then, light and quiet whimper came from Loki’s direction. You tilted your head and carefully moved towards him.
“Hey love, what’s wrong?” you asked as you sat down beside Loki who was curled up in your bed, with a pillow over his head, whole body trembling.
“Nothing, nothing I’m fine, totally fine don’t worry,” he mumbled and as he tried to get up, another thunderbolt struck. It wasn’t as loud as the last time, but it still managed to scare Loki who whimpered out and shuffled closer to you.
“Oh hun,” you whispered
“You are scared of the thunder aren’t you?” you asked gently and Loki nodded quickly.
“Please don’t laugh at me,” he whispered and you shook your head.
“I would never do that, don’t worry,” You bent down and kissed his forehead.
“well, I think it’s time for bed what do you say?” you asked and Loki nodded. You shuffled away from him and got under the covers. Before you could call him over to you, he was already under the covers with you, holding you around your waist with his face buried in your neck.
“Thanks for not laughing at me,” he whispered into the dark of the room and you furrowed your brows.
“Has anyone ever done that?”
“Yes, Thor. I came to him once because my mother was away and he sent me back to my room. I was about 9 in your years.” He explained and you squeezed him lightly, trying to bring some comfort.
“Having fears isn’t bad, it isn’t something to laugh at,”
“You never laughed at my fear of butterflies, why would I judge you for being scared of thunder.” You asked gently and he shrugged.
“Well, now you know that when you are scared, you can always come to me, with whatever fear it is” You comforted him and he nodded into your neck.
“Thank you, it means so much,” he whispered and you could hear the tiredness in his voice.
“Good night honey, I’ll see you tomorrow,” you said gently and he hummed.
“If you ever say anything about this to anyone, I will be mad,” he teased and she laughed lightly.
“Yeah, that’s the first thing I’m going to do in the morning, tell the world that the mighty Loki of Asgard is scared of thunders,” you said, trying to sound just a bit serious.
“Now hush and go to sleep, we’ll talk some more tomorrow,” you tried to soothe him as he flinched from another thunderbolt.
“G’night” he slurred, his mind already halfway gone.
He fell asleep moments after that, with you following right after him.

Cult Girl: Doctorate (Hannibal x Pregnant!Female!Reader) pt. 14
Hannibal reads too much into Max's attempt to reconcile and cult girl revisits her past.
@wisesandwichshark @pearlstiare
Trigger warnings: discussions of death, abandonment, military casualties, emotional abuse
You soon returned to the opera knowing you had nothing to hide. Hannibal selected for you an off-white maternity gown so form-fitting it was practically painted on. He wanted everyone to see that you, his queen, empress and goddess, were carrying his child.
It only took that evening for the whole dynamic to change. Suddenly, you were an expectant new mother. Imogen had been a massive hit, you were planning to go again.
You were affixing your heavy cubic zirconia earrings when you heard a knock at the door. You hesitated, but hurried down the stairs when you saw who it was.
"Max?" You said, upon opening the door. He stood there awkwardly, holding a bouquet of flowers. "Hi?"
"Hey, [F/N]." Max greeted, eyes darting nervously around the porch. "I just came around to apologize in person. I'm sorry I was such a chauvinist prick."
You leaned against the door. "Oh?"
"You were right." He continued. "I don't know what it's like to carry a baby, and, unless something goes very wrong, I never will."
"Let's hope it doesn't come to that." You smiled.
"Anyway, these are for you." He said, handing the bouquet over. "They're chrysanthemums."
"Thank you, Max." You said, accepting the flowers.
"Archie and I-" He scratched the back of his head. "We thought that, maybe, if you'd still have us, that we'd name the baby Chrysanthemum. With your permission, of course."
"Like the picture book?" Your face lit up. "With the little mouse girl?"
Max nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, exactly."
You hugged the bouquet into your chest and considered it again. You looked back at Hannibal, who hadn't looked up from his expectant fathers' website for a second all day. He surrounded himself with books about child psychology, attachment theory, developmental behavior patterns and somehow found himself on a tangent about institutionalized misogyny in medicine.
"I'm sorry, Max." You said, sincerely. "I really do appreciate you coming down here and apologizing, but-"
Max put his hands up and gave you a disarming smile. "I understand. Plans change."
"I just really want to stress that it's not you." You assured him. "I've kind of... really grown to like the idea of being a parent. And I think that was Hannibal's plan all along, too."
"I believe a congratulations is in order, then." His voice turned up in delight. "I'm very happy for you. Both of you."
You clutched the bouquet to your chest. "Thank you."
"Well, I'd better get going." He stepped backwards down the stairs. "I've got three pints of Ben and Jerry's in the backseat and Archie'll have my head if I come home and they've melted."
"Max, wait." You stopped him before he could get down the driveway.
"Hm?"
You leaned against the threshold and smiled warmly. "Don't be a stranger, okay?"
Max returned the smile. "Of course not."
You waved goodbye and shut the door. You hurried to the kitchen to put the flowers in water before you had to go.
"Who was that, love?" Hannibal asked, half-heartedly. He was still very fixated on his research.
"Max Thomas-Park." You answered, unwrapping the flowers from the decorative plastic.
Hannibal looked up from his computer, but left the room silent for you to fill.
"He wanted to make amends." You explained. You walked across the room to the china cabinet and selected a vase big enough to hold the ornate bouquet. "Brought flowers and everything."
"Chrysanthemums?" He asked, sniffing the air.
"I see your sense of smell is coming back." You commented.
"Interesting selection." He narrowed his eyes on the bouquet.
"Well, he said that was what he wanted to name the kid." You offered. "It was a cute pitch, not gonna lie."
Hannibal shut his laptop and examined the bouquet up close. "If he wanted to express regret, he would have done better to bring you blue or purple hyacinths."
"Well, like I said." You made a point to project a little more. "He said he wanted to name his daughter chrysanthemum."
"Mums are given to show sympathy for those in mourning." Hannibal continued, clearly having his own conversation.
"Hannibal-"
"I think your cousin got her hooks in him and he's planning to--" He cut himself off, lest he speak the unthinkable into reality. "That's why he brought mourning flowers."
"Max Thomas-Park is conspiring with Anna to kill our unborn baby?" You said, flatly, to emphasize how insane he sounded.
Hannibal held a bloom between his fingers and looked closely at it. "It's the kind of hint I would leave. For courtesy's sake."
"I think looking at parenting blogs all day has made you a little paranoid." You observed, knowing full well that an overprotective husband and soon-to-be father of your child was not a bad problem to have. Nevertheless, you shut the laptop and touched his cheek. "Come on. We're going to be late for the opera."
You heaved yourself into the passenger's seat of the car, feeling the seat give beneath your heavy frame. Every time you got into the car, you remembered that you needed to shop for a car seat. The thought just as soon left your mind every time.
“We need to look for a car seat.” You said as Hannibal shut the door, hoping that he’d remember.
“I mean,” Hannibal blurted out, still lost in his own conversation. “Max is a cultured and well-educated man. He has to know the implications of his flowers.”
You huffed, dreading to think that paranoid delusion was symptomatic of his parenting style. “Right. The twenty-seven year old data analyst who graduated with a finance MBA from UChicago is also proficient in the outdated and frivolous language of flowers.”
“In Italy, mums are only given as comfort for loss.” Hannibal said with undeserved conviction. “Exclusively, [F/N].”
You rolled your eyes and typed something up on your phone. You raised your eyebrows, feeling a bit proud of yourself for what you found.
“In Korea, y’know, the country that Max’s family is from,” You corrected. “The chrysanthemum is a symbol of friendship.”
Hannibal tensed up for a moment, tightening his grip on the steering wheel. It was as if he were trying to break himself out of a trance. “...I’m sorry, darling.”
“I know you’re scared.” You stared at his profile, trying to make out an expression. “I’m also... pretty scared. But you can’t take it out on a guy who has nothing to do with it.”
“I am scared.” He affirmed, but the way in which he did was a telltale sign that he wasn’t giving you the full story.
“Of?” You raised your eyebrow. “Finish the sentence, Hannibal.”
"I need to keep our baby safe." He answered. "And I cannot in good conscience let her come into the world knowing that someone wants to hurt her. To hurt you."
You sighed. "Hannibal, are you seriously still worried about Anna?"
"Don't underestimate the role privilege and entitlement plays in the decision to commit acts of violence." He enunciated carefully. "You of all people should know that."
"Anna has cultivated such a perfect victim image to project outwardly that even a hint of proactive violence would shatter it." You explained. "She's the poor girl who has things done to her. Her evil cousin ruined her marriage. Her evil cousin destroyed her career. And she's the innocent victim in all of it."
"Logically, I know that you can speak on her behavior with more authority than I." Hannibal admitted.
"No shit." You scoffed. "I had to live with her."
"Can we at least entertain the idea that she has something planned?" He pleaded.
"I'm surprised at you." You said. "You never really struck me as the overly-cautious type."
Hannibal shook his head. "With my own life, I'm willing to gamble. But not when it's you. And not when it's Imogen."
You tensed up. His admitted willingness to put himself in danger unlocked a core memory you had buried deep down. The only thing you knew about your own father was that he was willing to put himself in danger. To go overseas and die for fuck-all instead of live for the child he selfishly created then abandoned. He chose to give his life for oil. You didn't choose to grow up without a father and your mother didn't choose to raise a child without a partner. He made that choice for you.
"Now what are you not telling me?" Hannibal broke you out of your trance. "I know that look, [F/N]."
"Nothing." You shook your head. "You should really not plan on dying anytime soon."
"I promise you, I am not going anywhere." His voice softened. "Least of all, to Iraq."
"Okay, you're a pretty good therapist but you never told me you could read minds." You threw your hands up in defeat. "Are you a psychiatrist or are you Loki?"
"As fun as being the god of mischief would be," Hannibal smiled to himself. "I just happen to have a steel-trap memory and an admittedly quite obsessive fixation on the mental health of the mother of my child."
"I swear to god I never told you about him." You denied. "Not even in passing."
"You didn't have to." He assured you. "Beatrice did."
You were surprised for a fraction of a second until the information sat in your head long enough to realize it wasn’t surprising in the slightest. Beatrice took every opportunity she got to brag about her son's sacrifices. She never once mentioned the sacrifices he forced upon you. Only that her son was a hero.
"Did you get the 'don't believe anything [F/N] has to say about my son' speech?" Your voice flattened in complete non-surprise.
"It was a prepared speech?" Hannibal chuckled. "Pity. I thought I was special."
"She gave it to my first boyfriend." You rolled your eyes. "We were, like, fifteen."
"The root of your psychological issues becomes clearer every time we talk about Beatrice." He commented under his breath.
"I know." You conceded.
He pulled into the parking lot, turned the car off and placed his hand over yours.
"Your father was a coward." He said, bluntly. It was nice to hear what had been echoing in the back of your head out loud for once. "I know no country to serve. No god to glorify. I promise, you have the whole of me. My mind, body and soul belongs to you and our child."
You squeezed his hand. "I couldn't ask for anything else."

You carry a cake down the hall. It takes up both of your hands. You're rushing yourself. Stark always made fun of you whenever you were late. Too busy with other boys to care about me? He always teased.
Getting off the elevator was the worst part. You never knew what to expect. Would Cap be there to greet you? Would Thor try to hug you? Is JARVIS still trying to speak to you?
You can tell by the way Tony popped his head out from across the hall that JARVIS did end up saying something.
"Give it to me." He signs, taking the cake from your hands. It's not any special occasion nor birthday. They all just like eating the cakes you bring home from your missions. It's a special reward for them being so welcoming towards you.
Meanwhile, Loki sits alone on a couch, placing his thumbs under his chin and his pointer fingers against his lips. He would just have to bear with everyone for a few more days until he and Thor could make their way back to Asgard. All these reunion activities of sorts seem foolish to him. And why even include him in the first place?
It wasn't until Thor brought someone over, he realized why. The few words Thor had in his vocabulary formed the perfect introduction.
"Here is my brother," Thor signs to you, "he is lonely."
"Lonely?" You ask.
Said brother's eyes flicker between the two of you. Ideas run through his head. You are probably from a different planet, where people communicate with their hands. Or maybe some different misgardian land.
Thor turns to him, telling him your name. Then he turns to you and does the same.
"Nice to meet you," you sign, extending your hand. Loki stands to shake it.
"Splendid!" Thor exclaims, patting his brother on the back. "I'm sure you two will get along." He leaves without telling you what he said out loud. So you purse your lips into a thin line, bring out your phone, and begin to type something. You even turn your body a little to signal to the black-haired god that you were not going to pay attention to whatever he would try to say to you.
He squints his pale eyes at you before they flicker down a phone, one in your hand, to which you offer him to look. In the notes app reads: did he tell you about me?
With his answer being no, you spent a few minutes typing an introduction for yourself. You added your name, and what being Deaf meant to you. He read it slowly.
He took in every word.
You added a sentence about you being a sorcerer, which did not make sense to him. His eyes meet yours before he types his short response.
"Can't you fix it yourself?"
Two years ago, when you first introduced yourself to Stark, he had said the same thing. Soon Cap had to swoop in and grab you from behind, stopping you from trying to swing at the billionaire. Periodically he has to do it again... and again... for the same reason. Hawkeye, who is Deaf himself, would save the day and explain to hearing people how rude that is to ask that.
The Avengers getting used to your aggressive response took another year, with the growing fear of you meeting new people. By the time you had become a close member of the team, they knew to keep an eye out. This time, however, your immediate response is to hold your breath.
You look up to see Cap eyeing you down. All you do is shake your head, getting up from your seat to go talk to him. You don't even give Loki another word.
"Did he say what I think he said?" He asks.
"Absolutely."
A few minutes later, you had already busied yourself talking to someone else other than the god of trickery.
To his thoughts, you had already tried and failed to cure yourself, therefore being sensitive about the topic.
He indulged in a variety of different ideas. Everyone noticed him conspiring on his position on the couch, determination palpable, and seemingly stiff in his spot.
Thor equipped his brother with a cold glass of water. He had no intention of asking what the conversation between you two could have brought up. And he too was painfully new, therefore not understanding what might have occurred to cause you to get up and walk away. When Hawkeye finally got tired of the invisible tension, he walks over, you make a scene from a distance in turning your back to both of them.
"You didn't fight him," Cap states, not exactly posing himself like it was a question. You assume it was anyways.
You gesture to the crowd behind you. "Not worth the energy. Plus, do you think I don't know who that is?"
Loki only frowned at what was being explained to him. Hawkeye estimated that it would take him until you would literally try to fight him until he would get the idea through his head.
The idea that there doesn't need to be a cure for your deafness.
There's a bit of falseness to this estimation. In reality, it only took Loki that night to realize that the statement was true. He watched you communicate with everyone in that hand language. You were well and capable of being one of the team, and more specifically, well and capable to be a hero. Even if you were the one that stood out, once again, he felt like the outsider.
What you both didn't expect from that day forward was how well the two of you would end up getting along. Loki starting to pick up some signs from his brother, alongside the more educated teacher - Hawkeye. Nobody had thought to tell you that they were helping him learn the language. He secretly went out and around to learn different aspects of the culture from all that he could.
Even when he returned to Asgard, he would practice what little he knew, waiting for the day he would return to you.
He has always been smooth rather than cordial, and that translated into his signs. You can recall how he even swooped down to kiss your knuckles when he reintroduced himself. It impressed you. You asked why he learned. He told you started learning so he could talk to you. Later, when you both were comfortable enough to sleep in each other's beds, you asked the question once again.
"I felt left out being the only one who didn't know it."
That's what you thought was the truth.
A special woman named Natasha Romanoff was the one that finally gave you and Loki the last push out of platonic relations. One day she offered to take you to the pool, which was out of her benefit, as it was a hot day. When she asked why you were so hesitant to say yes, you explained that you had developed a crush on a certain someone, and him seeing you in a bathing suit would probably embarrass you to Asgard and back.
To Natasha, this is a golden opportunity. She can't say that she hadn't noticed the way the two of you seemed to draw together like magnets. Disgusting. You assured her that the crush was small.
You did end up going with her. But what she didn't tell you is that everyone else was going as well. She hid this on purpose. Loki had decided not to change into such skimpy clothes. He had assumed that the two of you would have shared an idea. He was wrong.
He kept his eye on you the entire time. The way you smiled at everyone, shifting in your standing position whenever you had to approach him. He could tell you were embarrassed.
What he did to 'soothe' you was place a hand under your chin and kiss your forehead before telling you you looked gorgeous. This had the opposite effect.
His lips were cold against your forehead. Much colder than any breeze your wet body could be exposed to.
A storm formed inside of your stomach. It raged on and on in the period of only a few seconds before dialogue. You had your response in mind. It was acting upon it that was hard.
You looked him in the eyes. "Kiss me again."

Intensity - Loki
Here we have a Loki fic. That came out of nowhere, I’ve only ever written drabbles for him. It’s not long but hopefully it’s not bad?
Enjoy!
*gif not mine*
Tumblr media
*****
Unlike most people, the mutant gene didn’t show up when you were a kid. You could be grateful for that at least. Because of that little grace, your childhood had been completely normal. No worries, no fears, nothing out of the ordinary.
Then you started to notice changes.
People seemed calm around you for the most part. If your emotions were out of control, you realized that others would be that way too. It took a while to understand that it was more than just the environment, more than just coincidence.
It took a disaster.
It was a fight with your dad when you were a teen. You didn’t even remember what it was about, what caused the issue, but you were angry enough that you were told to go to your room. Your mom had come in to sit with you for a while to try to calm you down.
The next thing you know, she went into the living room and tried to attach your dad with a butcher knife. He was okay but he did have to get sixteen stitches. And your mom was traumatized, not understanding why she tried to kill the man she loved.
That’s what had them put it all together. The little things they’d noticed but had brushed off had come out in a big way.
You could influence other people’s emotions. Oddly enough, anger was easier than the nicer emotions, but you’d had a pretty laid back life so you didn’t feel anger a lot.
Maybe that’s why it was so potent when you did feel it.
Emotion manipulation could be dangerous without proper training so in college, after a few years of trying to pretend you were normal, you left to find someone to train you. Therapists, doctors, military people all tried their hand to get you trained. All of them had the same thing to say.
You were undisciplined at best. At worst? You’d never be able to be completely in control.
Over the years it became harder and harder to keep in contact with people, including your family. It wasn’t like you could have an actual relationship that way. You could never be sure if you were influencing someone’s emotions, even when you tried to get control of your powers.
The military had a bracelet that worked for other mental powers. It didn’t work flawlessly, but it helped. It dampened your emotional field so that it took touch to influence someone for the most part. That and a steady regime of keeping calm, you got a better grasp on it.
Better didn’t mean perfect though. You still sometimes affected people when you didn’t mean to. You still hated it when you did it.
One of the things you did learn while working with various therapists was that there was more to your power than just emotion manipulation. To a lesser degree, you could read emotions on people. It didn’t work as well when you had the bracelet on, dampened that power as well, but sometimes...sometimes you could catch bits and pieces off of the people closest to you.
While you traveled from military base to military base to try to figure out a way to work on your powers, you didn’t expect to get a call from the Avengers.
Well. It was less of a call and more of Iron Man dropping down in front of you and one of the generals so that he could offer you a place to stay at his tower.
“How’d you hear about me?”
Although you couldn’t see his eyes, you knew that Iron Man—Tony Stark, it was Tony Stark in front of you—was looking at you.
“Fury. He has a way of getting information on lost souls that need a little help. What do you say? Wanna be a part time Avenger? Use your mojo to make some people really docile so that we don’t have to keep wrecking New York City every time some supervillain decides to stop by?”
You shifted a bit and looked at the general beside you. He just shrugged.
You weren’t a prisoner of the military. It had been very evident that you were there voluntarily. It was up to you.
“I’m working on a better dampener for mental powers. Maybe I can make one that’s specific to your power and you won’t have to worry about it anymore.”
And just like that, you didn’t need to hear anything else.
------
The tower is bigger than you thought it would be. Which is a good thing. Especially when you realized it’s not just the Avengers that frequent the tower but other members of Shield.
“This area is all yours,” Mr Stark says as he shows you to your room. Suite. Apartment. “The walls are made from the same dampening material as your bracelet so it’ll contain your powers.”
“My powers aren’t that powerful,” you said softly as you touched the bracelet in question. “Thank you Mr Stark. I...I want to help people but I am scared of what my powers might do. I want to protect people from me.”
He turned to look at you and dropped some of that rich man bravado he’d been sporting since he escorted you onto his private jet.
“You don’t have to be scared of yourself here. I promise.”
That’s not the last time you see him either. He explains that you should call him Tony and although it’s weird at first, you do.
“Tony, aren’t you scared I’ll influence you?”
He looked up from where he was typing on a tablet, his feet up on the table in your kitchenette.
“Pretty sure you do,” he said casually as he looked back down at the tablet. “It’s only ever small things though. Calm sometimes, tired sometimes. Hungry that one, that’s why I ordered pizza.”
You felt your heart start to beat fast at the thought of you accidentally influencing him, but he must have caught on to that.
“Anxiety and I are old friends,” he explained as he put the tablet down and crossed over to you. “I’m not worried about it. Your influence doesn’t last if I’m not around you so once I leave, I’m back to myself. But honestly? Your influences are a lot simpler than some of the things I’ve felt.”
You thought about everything you knew about Iron Man and the Avengers and decided, yeah, he was probably right. Anything you could make him feel would be pretty tame compared to flying a nuclear warhead into a wormhole without knowing if you were coming back.
------
The first time you meet Natasha Romanoff, you spill orange juice on your shirt. She just smirked and grabbed a napkin to hold out to you.
It was the first time you’d let yourself out of your rooms. The new bracelet was supposed to be more effective, but Tony said he wouldn’t know if he was on the right track until you let yourself be around people.
People meaning Shield agents. You didn’t expect to be face to face with Black Widow.
Her grin wavered for a second before it came back even brighter.
“You have better control than I thought you’d have,” she admitted as she leaned against a nearby table. “Stark said this new bracelet would still let you influence, but you stopped it pretty quick.”
“I didn’t even realize what I was doing,” you confided as you gripped your half full glass of orange juice. “I just want to hold it all in when I’m around people.”
Natasha tapped her fingers on the table before she crossed over towards the door.
“It’s not good to hold it in. You might end up like a grenade without a pin.”
With that helpful piece of advice, she left.
Later, in Tony’s lab rather than your room, you told him what she said. He nodded as he made a few adjustments.
“She’s got the right idea at least. You stretch your wings with it every now and then, that’s one thing. You don’t work it at all and the muscle will atrophy. Who knows what a gift like yours can do if it degrades and you don’t have control over it?”
It took a while to come up with a plan. A few Shield agents, volunteers specifically, would work with you and let you influence them. Under supervision in case you lost control.
It was a step. You just wish you knew if it was in the right direction or not.
------
“This is Thor and that’s his...brother Loki. Don’t worry, he’s on his best behavior these days.”
You nearly swallowed your spit when you turned around and sure enough, you were faced with Tony, Thor, and Loki. This was somehow your life but you hadn’t really figured it out yet. You were a few feet away from literal Gods.
Thankfully Tony couldn’t read your thoughts because he’d think you lumped him in with that group.
“Uh, hi,” you said as you introduced yourself.
“Ah, another Avenger? Welcome.”
You smiled at Thor and shook your head, but Tony moved over and draped his arm over your shoulder.
“Definitely an Avenger, just with training wheels. Probationary,” he explained at Thor’s uncertain look. “We’re working on the kinks.”
You wanted to elbow Tony to get him off of you, especially as you could feel your heart start to race in your chest. This was nerves, anxiety building into a spike in your chest. Only Tony didn’t seem to react. He usually would at least look at you if he felt you influencing him.
And he didn’t seem to feel anxious or nervous in the least. Neither did Thor who was talking to Tony about...something about a bridge, you weren’t sure.
But Loki. You hadn’t paid much attention to him after the initial greeting, but you met his gaze now. He was staring straight at you, an intrigued look on his face as he watched you.
Tony and Thor might not have noticed your influence, but it seems Loki had. Great.
“I should get back to the lab,” you said as you stepped out from under Tony’s arm. “It was nice to meet you both. Bye.”
You heard Thor’s farewell at your back, but you could still feel Loki’s gaze on your as you turned the corner.
------
Any other time that you ran into Thor in the tower, he always put you at ease. Tony had explained your powers and how you were coming to grips with them. Thor asked questions about it, always careful to never put you on edge, but he didn’t seem concerned for himself.
“It would be hard for a human such as yourself to influence an Asgardian mind,” he said with a smile when you asked him about it.
That didn’t explain Loki then. Besides your first meeting, every time you were around the dark haired God you’d turned into a nervous, babbling mess. The look on his face was always intrigued, but it wasn’t cruel. It seemed almost clinical.
Although you’d heard a lot about that particular God’s abilities. Maybe since he had some mind control abilities himself, he could feel it in you.
And didn’t that just put you on edge. You weren’t sure how you felt about having something in common with Loki, God of mischief.
Although you weren’t entirely sure that was the only reason you felt nervous around Loki. Most people talked about how attractive the God of thunder is, with reason, but there was just something about the dark haired God that caught your attention.
So of course you would find yourself alone with the God in question while you waited for Tony. The Avengers were off Avenging and you didn’t like to be holed up while you waited for them.
You weren’t sure why you expected Loki to be off with them, but he wasn’t. He was in a chair in the room, a book on his lap that he flicked through lazily. When you walked in, his eyes lifted up and met yours.
There was a challenge in his gaze. Normally you’d make an excuse and turn to leave. He was challenging you to see if you’d do it now that there weren’t other people around.
Instead you crossed over and went to the kitchen area.
“Is it because of my past misdeeds? Is that why you’re nervous around me?”
You hadn’t heard him speak before right then, but his voice fit him. You tapped your fingers against the fridge door that you had pulled open even though you weren’t hungry.
“I’ve heard a few stories about you, sure. But you’re a God. It’s...intimidating.”
You heard the chair creak. When you looked over your shoulder, he had stood up and crossed a few feet to be closer.
“Regardless of my past, you have nothing to fear from me.”
Slowly you shut the fridge door and turn to face him completely. The look on his face made you believe him. But it was more than that. You could feel something from him, an emotion buried in the haze from your bracelet.
Honesty.
“Okay,” you whispered as you met his eyes. “I’ll...keep that in mind.”
------
The lower library wasn’t exactly your favorite, but it was usually empty. You walked through the first few aisles and froze when you saw that you weren’t alone.
“You come here to be alone,” Loki guessed as he looked around the room. “It’s one of the few places that’s technically public but usually void of people.”
You wrapped your arms around yourself and nodded.
“I’m supposed to be in public for a few hours each day but sometimes it gets to be a bit too much. So I come here.”
He nodded as if he understood that. Then he turned to face you head on.
“How powerful are you?”
You almost laughed at that, but held it in.
“I’m not powerful, I’m untrained. Dangerous,” you added as you looked away from him.
One of the Shield agents had to be sedated when you’d made her feel too many things at once on accident. You weren’t sure how she was doing.
Tony was still calibrating the new bracelet, but you wore it anyways. You just hoped...hoped it was enough.
“I can help you. I’m skilled with mind control of stronger beings than humans.”
You fingered the bracelet you wore and thought about the Shield agent, your parents, all the people you’d influenced over the years that had bad results.
“I’ll think about it,” you said softly. Then you sighed. “I should go back to the lab. Tony will be looking for me.”
“Ah, yes, we wouldn’t want that, would we?”
You smiled and looked away. You weren’t sure you could handle for Loki to pick up on how charmed you were by him just then.
You really needed to get better at keeping your feelings a secret.
------
The lab was in disarray. You stumbled from where you’d fallen, the debris mostly away from you.
Even in his panic, Tony hadn’t hurt you. He’d flung himself as far away as he could, kept his robots from hurting you, but he’d nearly destroyed his lab in the process.
“Tony?”
It was quiet for a moment but then you heard a rasping breath. You climbed over a fallen stool and went to your knees next to where he was crumpled on the floor.
“Tony, are you...what can I do?”
He let out a gasp, his eyes on your face for a moment before they slammed shut tight.
“JARVIS, get Pepper,” you called out, unsure of what else to do.
The mechanical voice said it would be a moment and then said that Miss Potts was on her way down. You slumped on the floor next to Tony, careful not to touch him.
Your anxiety about this test, about how long it had been since there had been any progress, had bled over to Tony. Only it was heightened somehow, the anxiety and worry causing a full blown flashback for him. You’d caught glimpses of it, almost-images of the wormhole and falling through the air.
It’s why you asked for Pepper. He hadn’t been able to talk to her before...before.
When she came in, she gave you an understanding look before she went to his side. Since he was being cared for, you got up and stumbled away from them. Your bracelet was still on the receiver so you grabbed it and hooked it on, grateful for the dullness you felt afterwards.
Then you left the lab. All you wanted to do was go to your rooms, to bury yourself under your blankets and wish it all away, but instead you headed in a different direction.
The room that Loki had been given was in the same hall as Thor, but you thought Thor was away on a mission with Steve and Sam. Loki’s door was shut, but when you raised your hand to knock, it came open.
“I need help.”
Loki came from across the room in a hurry, probably thinking you meant you were being chased. When he was sure the issue was less immediate, he nodded and met your eyes.
What he saw there made him let out a breath. He reached for you, slow so that you wouldn’t pull away. He unhooked the bracelet and set it to the side.
“This might be a bit uncomfortable,” he said softly as he raised his hands to your forehead.
In an instant you were no longer in the tower, no longer in New York. You were in your childhood bedroom, your mom helping you make your bed while your dad laughs at the two of you. It was such a distant memory, something you had forgotten.
As more and more of those happy memories come to the surface, you sense something from Loki. A bitter tang on your tongue.
He had hoped that your childhood would have been like his. He had seen you and imagined that you’d been set apart as well. To see a loving, happy childhood had almost been a disappointment for him.
That faded away as the next memory appeared. He watched from your own eyes as your mother, in a rage not of her own, tried to kill your father. He sees your best friend yelling that she can’t trust you, teachers telling you that you can’t come to class, job and job firing you after only days.
He sees relationship after relationship burn hot and bright at first and then the horror sets in, the worry that they didn’t want you like you wanted them, the anger from them, the apathy. You felt it all in spirals, in such quick succession that embarrassment started to well up inside you.
“Shh, it’s alright,” he promised as he continued to dig inside your memories. “You’re not there. They don’t matter.”
There’s something like a tug and then suddenly, like a dam breaking, you're overwhelmed with emotions. They seem to come from every direction like the room is crowded.
You open your mouth to say his name, to ask him for help, but instead there’s nothing but darkness as you give in to the pain.
------
The medical wing is new to you. When you sit up, there’s a hand on your shoulder to help you ease up the rest of the way.
“It’s been two days,” Natasha says in a tone you can’t quite read. “Thought we were going to have to take turns kissing you, Snow White.”
“Thanks for…not doing that,” you said as you reached up to rub at your forehead.
Loki. You had been in his room, he was in your mind. He was trying to help you, going through your memories. There had been...oh the emotions you’d felt before you’d passed out.
“Where’s Loki?”
Natasha doesn’t say anything, just reached out to grab a cup of water from next to your bed. As she held it out to you, you pushed it away.
“Natasha, where’s Loki? Tell me.”
She sighed and put the cup down.
“Steve and Thor had him put into a holding cell for attacking you.”
You were shaking your head before she even finished.
“He didn’t though!”
A tablet was on the table. After a brief hesitation she grabbed it and navigated through a few things.
“Watch this and tell me he didn’t attack you.”
You watched the recording from his room. The two of you were in front of each other, his hands on your head. There didn’t seem to be anything at first but then you saw what looked like a surge of magic go from his hands to your head.
You shook your head as you rewound it and watched the same spot.
“I need to see him,” you said when you finally looked up at her. “Now, Natasha.”
Although she obviously didn’t want to let you, she gave you a nod. You were already in sweats for comfort while you were unconscious, so you just slid on some too big slippers and let her lead the way to the holding cells.
Steve immediately raises his hands once you enter the hallway.
“What the hell Romanoff, I said–”
“Yeah, when’s the last time I listened to you,” Natasha snarked with a smirk. Then she gestured at you. “She wants to talk to him.”
Steve was just about to say no, but Thor came from down the hall with a frown.
“I think she should. I know what we saw, but we don’t understand it. It’s possible the only one that can understand it is her. Besides,” he added with a sly look in your direction, “Loki is on his best behavior when she’s around.”
You didn’t know how to take that, but thankfully it seemed to persuade Steve. He told you he’d buzz you into the cell once you were there. They had a camera so they’d see and hear everything and, if you needed it, could come and save you.
You really didn’t think you’d need it.
In the cell, Loki seemed different. He ignored you when you came in, just threw a ball against the wall and caught it over and over again.
You wished you could use your powers to read Asgardians as well as humans, but...wait.
There was nothing. From Natasha, from Steve, from the nurse who had released you. Usually you felt something, a low hum of their emotions, but there was nothing.
“The force of it was too much for you, but it’ll come back.” He caught the ball and let it rest beside him on the bench. “You felt too many emotions at once. Your mind was adapting to having mine in there when it happened and it overloaded.”
You nodded and sat down beside him, a few feet away just so that Steve wouldn’t bust in. You really didn’t need observers with this, but you knew you didn’t have a choice.
“It felt so weird. It was like I could feel the emotions of everyone in the tower at once.”
Loki looked over at you in surprise.
“In the tower? That was everyone in the city at once.” At your surprised look, he offered a smile. “I knew you were powerful when we first met, I just didn’t realize how powerful.”
You sighed and leaned back against the wall.
“Holy shit,” you breathed with another laugh. “No wonder I’ve been asleep for two days.”
And here you thought you couldn’t really surprise the God of mischief more than you already had.
“Two days? So that’s...why you haven’t come to set the record straight.”
Oh. Had he thought that you believed the story that he’d attacked you? Or did he just think that you were letting him suffer?
“Just woke up. Saw the video, heard you were down here, came to rescue you.”
He laughed at that, a sound that both surprised and pleased you.
“How do you feel?”
You thought about it. The emptiness in your head was blissful. So was the fact that you didn’t need to worry about making people feel your emotions.
“I hope it never comes back.”
His hand closed around yours and, with a gentle tug, he pulled you a little closer to him.
“You shouldn’t hope for that. The gifts you have don’t have to be a burden. You can learn to control them, learn to use them.” He smiled at you, his eyes locked on yours. “I said I knew you were powerful and I meant it. I could feel it in you.”
You rubbed a hand over your wrist where your bracelet usually sat.
“Maybe I should be the one in the holding cell.”
Loki’s face became more serious as he looked you over.
“It could happen one day.”
The memory of Tony curled up on his side after your influence made you think about what had happened in Loki’s room. Your mind had reached the entirety of the city. If you could push your influence that far…
“I have to…”
You didn’t bother saying more, just tore from the room in a rush. Steve was outside and he nodded when he met your eyes.
“We saw. We believe you. We’ll let him out.”
You nodded because that was good, but that wasn’t the only thing on your mind.
You needed to talk to Tony.
------
“You sure you don’t feel anything?” At your baleful look, Tony shrugged and looked back at the scan. “Your brain is unusually active.”
“I’ll try not to be offended,” you said with a laugh.
Tony crossed over to where you sat. He looked good for a man who just a few days ago had been basically curled up under his table in a panic. And he had forgiven you for that.
“Make me feel something. Something small, please,” he added with a grin.
You drummed your fingers on the table for a moment before you nodded. Then you focused on Tony and a new feeling.
“God I could eat a cheeseburger,” he commented as his hand went to his stomach. “Wait. Was that it? Was that you?”
You started to smile but then you focused on him some more. There was surprise, under the surface, but you had to actually look for it. It didn’t come out of nowhere.
“I have control?”
Tony clapped his hands together. Then he reached out for your bracelet and tossed it into the trash can.
“It was a prototype anyways. We’ll get one together just in case, but I think we can say you’re off the bench for now.”
You laughed and tossed your arms around his neck.
“Thank you Tony.”
“Yeah, yeah, now let’s get something to eat. Seriously, I’m starving.”
------
A few days after his release, you found Loki in the library. He looked up as you entered as if he knew it was you.
Maybe he did.
“Thank you. Because of what you did, I have control now.”
“I know,” he said with a smile. “Thor said you’ll be going on a mission with them soon to celebrate.”
Yeah, you’d heard that as well. It was exciting, if a little daunting.
“It might do you some good to continue to train with me, if you wish. To perfect your talents.”
You smiled. Then you moved over to sit beside him. Now that you had control, you let your mind open to try to read him.
Silence. You frowned and tried again.
“Because of my powers, I can protect myself,” he said with a tap of his fingers to his temple, a grin on his lips. “I do appreciate the effort though.”
You laughed and looked down at your hands. Nervousness settled over you.
“I just thought if I could read your emotions, I could know if…”
If he was interested in you. If your feelings had influenced him at all.
“You could never influence me, I promise.”
You opened your mouth to ask how he knew that’s what you were thinking, but then you remembered. He’d been in your head. Besides seeing just how horrifically all of your past relationships had ended, he would have felt how you felt about him.
He was putting you at ease. Your nerves started to rise and either he could tell, or he just knew you that well already.
“I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.”
You met his eyes and smiled, a little breathless as you thought about the possibilities.
“Not uncomfortable. Just...nervous.”
He leaned in towards you, his grin nearly blinding until his lips met yours.
You didn’t need to be nervous anymore.
X
Thanks for reading!

Movies I watched in July
Once again I’m doing my monthly round-up of movies I’ve watched. This was a good month for the cinema getting back on track and seeing new releases including the new M. Night movie, Old and James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Pretty sure Marvel put out a new movie also. I’m hoping that this list can help in guiding a decision about what to watch (or what to avoid) and introduce people to movies they may otherwise not have heard of or bothered to see. These short reviews are my own subjective opinions on each individual movie and maybe a more informal approach to movie criticism can help include others who are just passing through. Here is every film I watched from the 1st to the 31st of July.
Bridesmaids (2011) - 4/10
Off to a good start. I won’t say Bridesmaids is a terrible movie but I don’t think I’m exactly the target audience. As far as I know, this is a beloved comedy but I just can’t get on board with all the boring, juvenile humour; with Maya Rudolph shitting in the street, with Rose Byrne and Kristen Wiig trying to one-up each other at a toast that went on forever, with Melissa McCarthy shitting in a sink… the conflict is so done to death and makes the movie feel unspecial. I do understand the appeal of the film, especially for women in that before this movie the likelihood of seeing something like this, where women play up the more crass and gross side of comedy, was probably few and far between. But the story is very tired and while I did appreciate some moments, namely a couple of decent jokes and some of the more intimate scenes, for the most part it felt like they wanted to corner a more quiet type of line delivery in a way that was supposed to be understated but very funny so as to not rely on over the top body language or musical cues, and it ended up being super dull.
Tumblr media
Spectre (2015) - 7/10
As far as I can tell, a lot of people don’t like this instalment of the James Bond franchise… but I really enjoyed it! I’ve really taken a shine to these Daniel Craig-era Bond movies and while I can’t say any of them are the most amazing thing, I have a lot of fun with them. The biggest problem I have with Spectre is the villain being utterly pointless and uninteresting in basically every way. The idea of every villain Bond has fought before being tied to this one organisation controlled by this one guy is ridiculous, and what makes it worse is that the villain is barely in it! There’s so much that doesn’t come together in this but as it goes, I still had a really good time. Daniel Craig holds the whole thing together; he is excellent as 007 and the main reason I’m up for each of these movies is because of him. Sam Mendes directs again after the previous instalment and for what it’s worth I do think he does a good job with some of the action set pieces and the locations. I’m so ready for No Time To Die.
Shazam (2019) - 7/10
Shazam is a genuinely fun superhero movie that doesn’t take itself seriously at all. I was having a great time throughout and while it could conform to some of the same tropes we’re used to with these kinds of movies, it still remained playful and used the character of Shazam to his fullest potential in a way that showed an understanding of just how silly the idea of a kid who can turn into an adult and shoot lightning out of his hands is.
High School Musical (2006) - 6/10
So as you may or may not know, I co-host a podcast: The Sunday Movie Marathon. It’s a film podcast and every week I get together with my other co-hosts and watch movies. For episode 38, we watched the High School Musical trilogy. This first movie blew me away. I was really surprised with just how much fun I had, and if you want to hear more of my thoughts on the film, please listen to episode 38 of the podcast.
High School Musical 2 (2007) - 4/10
We then jumped into the second and while it’s certainly not as good as its predecessor, there are still some brilliant songs that manage to top the last movie. Again, more of what I have to say can be heard on episode 38 of the podcast.
Tumblr media
High School Musical 3: Senior Year (2008) - 3/10
Senior Year was pretty hard to get through. I don’t remember it being as bad as it was, but then I didn’t really remember it anyway. It did however have one redeeming quality, which you can discover on episode 38 of the podcast.
The Piano Teacher (2001) - 9/10
What the fuuuckkkk. The Piano Teacher is horrendously affecting and I was so upset when it ended, maybe not because it’s not what I wanted but because it’s just so fucking dour and unrelenting. This is the second Haneke movie I’ve seen (after the original Funny Games) and I’m so impressed with how well executed it is. Following a woman who teaches piano, we get a glimpse into the life she lives, how sheltered she is from living with her mother at an age where you’d reasonably expect a person to be living alone or with a partner or friends (even going so far as to be sleeping in the same bed as her), and how repressed she is sexually. It’s clear she’s never experienced any kind of sexual interaction or romantic love with another person, so she goes out of her way to take control and make that happen. The upsetting nature of it comes from just what she does in pursuit of it or as a result of her repression, and what is done to her. It is by no means a movie to recommend to your parents but The Piano Teacher offers so much in terms of the ideas it presents (and I’ll admit there seems to be a lot more going on than I think I picked up on a first go round) about women in modern society, and about the portrayal of sex and expectations of people when it comes to how that is represented in a person’s character depending on their gender. I really enjoyed this movie but it is not for the faint of heart.
Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure (2011) - 1/10
My podcast co-hosts decided it’d be a right laugh to add Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure to this episode and that might have been a fun idea for them because they got to watch it together, but I was just watching it alone. Just a 24-year-old man watching Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure alone and having a miserable time, I might add. But for a short and sweet ramble on what we all thought, please listen to episode 38 of The Sunday Movie Marathon podcast.
Dr. No (1962) - 6/10
A lot of very iffy parts of this movie. A lot of discomfort arising from how black people are portrayed that really didn’t sit right with me. As far as a Bond movie goes, this first instalment in the series is one I’ve seen before and it’s not wholly engaging but it plants the seeds for the rest, with Sean Connery breathing life into the role and making an otherwise lacklustre plot bearable.
Tumblr media
Black Widow (2021) - 6/10
I think probably the best part about Black Widow is the experience I had while watching it. It was great being back in the cinema with a couple of friends in a packed theatre. The energy was high and I’m sure for a lot of people, this is the first time they’d been to the cinema since Endgame. For what it’s worth, I did have a lot of fun with Black Widow and I’ve explained more of what I thought about the movie in episode 39 of the podcast.
The Climb (2020) - 10/10
The Climb was added to Now TV recently and I already knew I loved it, having seen it in an empty cinema theatre last year, which I had an absolute blast with. The Climb details the years of a rocky friendship told over scenes filmed as one-shots. Not only is the presentation something to gawk at, but the performances by the two leads playing these friends with a terrifically dysfunctional dynamic is truly captivating. They’re both trying to figure out their own lives and where one can come across as being rather selfish, the opposite is true in his counterpart, whom everyone loves. This is a truly funny and heartwarming movie with a lot to say about how we choose to live our lives and who we choose to be with. It’s a shame the distributors of The Climb didn’t do a very good job because if not for it being available on Now TV, it would be near impossible to watch without forking out more money than is necessary to purchase a film.
From Russia With Love (1963) - 5/10
The second Bond movie. I thought perhaps I’d change my mind on it with another watch, having seen it for the first time maybe a year ago. But no, it’s still largely boring and it treats women like absolute garbage. From Russia With Love is one of those movies I forget as I watch it, and I was trying very hard (in the middle of the day!) not to fall asleep.
The Good, The Bart, and The Loki (2021) - 1/10
I don't usually talk about the short films I watch but for this I'll make an exception. As we all should know, Disney owns The Simpsons now, through their acquisition of Fox, so, coupled with another of their properties, that being Marvel, they decided to make a six-minute animated film wherein Marvel’s Loki is stranded in Springfield. This felt as though it was a minute long due to the horrendously jarring pacing; it is a movie that feels adamant that it needs to exist, while trying as hard as it can to be over as soon as possible. It serves only to stare the audience directly in the face and say “look, characters from The Simpsons are dressed as Avengers”, shit out three credit scenes, then end before you’ve even processed the atrocity you just bore witness to.
Tumblr media
Russian Ark (2002) - 8/10
For this next episode of the podcast, we watched a few Russian movies, starting with Russian Ark, a film shot completely in one take as the camera moves about a luxurious museum in a first-person perspective as this main character watches what is happening around him, seeing people moving about the place but unable to interact with them, guided only by another man who seems to be just slightly out of his own perception of reality. This is a tremendous feat in filmmaking and more can be heard about what I have to say in episode 39 of The Sunday Movie Marathon podcast.
Ivan’s Childhood (1962) - 7/10
For my own pick of Russian movies to discuss on the podcast, I chose the debut feature from one of my favourite directors, Andrei Tarkovsky. It’s amazing that while this is not his best film by far, Ivan’s Childhood is still such a stellar debut, jumping around in its timeline as it details a child’s experience in the second world war. Again, I do go into more depth in episode 39 of the podcast, so be sure to check that out.
Outlaw (2019) - 1/10
The third movie chosen for this marathon is apparently the fourth Russian LGBTQ+ movie ever made. I’m unsure of the ultimate goal of this movie but what seems to be clear is that it hates the LGBTQ+ community. This is perhaps the worst film we’ve discussed on the podcast to date, so listen to episode 39 to understand exactly why it’s such trash.
Almost Famous (2000) - 7/10
I too love heavy music and also studied journalism so it stands to reason that a movie about a teenager who makes his way onto a band tour, following them through America and interviewing them as they hang out and play shows is going to be a premise that resonates with me. This certainly did. I enjoyed Almost Famous a lot; this kid is living the dream and I was so along for the ride, seeing a lot of myself in what was being portrayed. That said, the story itself is at times a bit by the numbers and I really would’ve been more on board if the visual component was more interesting. For what it is, technically it’s fine enough but nothing in that department ever jumped out at me.
Tumblr media
Minari (2021) - 8/10
It’s crazy that this didn’t get a theatrical run where I live in the UK. It feels as though I complain about film distribution all the time but I really don’t understand the process by which a movie gets no cinematic release and yet, months later will pop up on the front shelf of hmv, taking pride of place. But of course I got the blu-ray straight away. Minari has a lot to say about the immigrant experience, specifically in America as a family comes over from Korea and tries to start a business and make something of themselves. You get to see a lot of what you might not think twice about when you think about immigration: the hardship of coming from a place where you know everyone to somewhere rural and sparsely populated, having to make friends with locals and integrate within the community; the strain it can put on a family and on a marriage where this idea is presented about the importance of making it on your own in order to live and not just survive, while also taking into account why you’re doing it in the first place and the value you place on being part of a family that you decided to make because that was more important than money, than economy, than proving you were good enough to make it in a place that gave you very little advantage from the offset. This concept of the promised land, of the American dream is a construct. There are times when it’s not pretty, when you have no running water, or you’re in debt, or a family member is dying and it just feels like you’ve been dealt as bad a hand as you can get. But it is better to know you’re not facing all that alone.
Roma (2018) - 10/10
This was my recommendation for the podcast episode on Alfonso Cuarón movies. Roma is as beautiful as it is heart-wrenching and I would recommend listening to episode 40 of the podcast to find out more about my thoughts.
An American Werewolf In London (1981) - 8/10
In all fairness, London is enough to make anyone a little crazy at the best of times. An American Werewolf in London showcases some fantastically grotesque effects, akin to something like Carpenter’s The Thing, in showing the dead brought back to life and a horrifically gory transformation scene. Although the film is from the perspective of an American protagonist, directed also by an American, the depiction of British culture and climate is something I’ve not seen many films pull off quite so well, and I was pleasantly surprised at the more comedic tone the film has overall, which is something that works more in its favour than straight horror would.
The Party’s Just Beginning (2018) - 6/10
Karen Gillan’s directorial debut is… pretty good! There are a lot of ideas I like in this movie: a woman living life and through convenient circumstances, is confronted with death in many ways. Gillan obviously knows her homeland as well as she can, imbuing the whole thing with an intensely Scottish vibe (though maybe not in the same vein as something like Trainspotting) that makes it a bit more unique than a more run of the mill movie of this ilk, backed up in no small part by her own main performance. The plot itself is no great diversion from the kind of story I’m used to with these smaller movies and for something that’s trying to include messaging about transgender issues and suicide, it probably could have been handled better or done in a different way.
Tumblr media
Solaris (1972) - 9/10
Another Tarkovsky joint, one I thought I’d revisit to see if there was indeed more to get out of it a second time. Well, it’s no surprise that yes, there was certainly more to get out of it. Solaris is a crazy trip of a movie and I would liken it to Kubrick’s 2001 in terms of how grand the scale of it feels. Yet this is a film that comes across as deeply personal, choosing to focus on a specific character as he goes to a space station to help those on board who are experiencing some kind of emotional crises, only to feel the effects of the planet, Solaris invading his own mind as it has the crew. To many, I can see this lengthy Russian sci-fi being a tad slow but my personal experience is one of deep engagement. Solaris pulls its viewer in a lot of different directions and it is always doing something unexpected in terms of where its narrative goes. There’s a lot to think about with the movie and thankfully it’s no chore to watch again.
Y Tu Mamá También (2001) - 9/10
Another recommendation for the podcast episode on Alfonso Cuarón movies. This is a very relaxed experience, following three young people as they go on a road trip, visit different places and have sex. Listen to episode 40 of The Sunday Movie Marathon podcast for more of my thoughts.
Children of Men (2006) - 10/10
My favourite Cuarón movie, one that never stops being tense as its characters are constantly moving towards the end goal. Set in a future where humans are infertile, the oldest living person is 18, and London is the last city in the world that’s still keeping it together, somewhat. This is masterclass filmmaking. Listen to episode 40 of the podcast for more insights.
Minority Report (2002) - 5/10
I’m really not the biggest fan of Spielberg… Minority Report is an interesting movie in terms of its concept of stopping crimes before they happen by way of prediction, but I just didn’t connect with the heart of it. The colouring is way too overexposed in a way that’s supposed to be eliciting a futuristic vibe but instead feels so early-2000’s in the worst way. My biggest problem with Minority Report is just how long it is, clocking in at two hours and twenty-five minutes which allows for a lot of meandering, all while never quite developing characters enough for you to care about.
Tumblr media
Caché (2005) - 9/10
Oh god! Another Michael Haneke movie! Here we see a couple periodically sent video tapes featuring hours of footage of the outside of their house. The anxiety ratchets up and the mystery gets deeper with every minute. There’s always at least one moment in any of his films that have so far made me realise just how out of my depth I am. Caché is no exception, and I won’t spoil anything here because I think it’s better just to watch the movie and see for yourself. He is a director that wants the audience to know something and that something is never what is explicitly shown at face value; it is pressed into the fabric of the film - plainly evident, yet hidden. Caché is so stupidly clever in displaying its themes and messaging - making reference to the Siene Massacre of 1961 as well as a deeper study of colonialism - and there’s no way to change a single detail of it without risking the Jenga tower crumbling to the ground. It all works in tandem. It is passion and fury and haunting.
Coco (2017) - 7/10
Pixar had a string of around seven forgettable movies before this point so thankfully Coco emerged to show the company still had something good in them. Coco deals a lot with themes of death and legacy, remembering those who are gone in order to preserve them and while its plotting is quite basic and there are certainly moments that either drag or cannot escape the same Pixar formula, most of what the movie has to offer is a lot of fun, with creative, colourful animation and emotional beats that resonate the way they’re supposed to.
Incredibles 2 (2018) - 5/10
Oh, they almost had it! There's a lot here that could have been explored in far more interesting ways. Setting Incredibles 2 directly after the events of the first movie was not a good idea. If it had taken place five or ten years after, the characters could have been in different places in life and it would feel as though they'd actually changed and developed. But instead of trying to be a film that actually cares about its characters and the journeys they go on, a lot of the film is wrestling with the idea that Bob isn't supportive of his wife and Jack-Jack has to fight a raccoon… They have to shoehorn in a villain that in no way compares to the genius of the original. The ending of the original introduces another antagonist that gets wrapped up within this film's first ten minutes, except they don't catch him and he's never mentioned again. It's a real shame because the animation is fantastic and the acting is superb and there are great ideas sprinkled throughout. It just doesn't come together.
Toy Story 4 (2019) - 6/10
I was rather reluctant to watch Toy Story 4 because from the get-go I’m not really here for sequels being made just for the sake of it. Everyone loves Toy Story and making another one is a sure fire way to make money. This is the first time I’ve seen Toy Story 4 and for what it’s worth, I did enjoy it. The animation is immaculate and that alone feels like a huge flex from Pixar who tend to step up the game when it comes to animation in film, despite not having the best track record for films generally at this point. While it was nice to see these characters again, I found a lot of them to be side-lined (namely Buzz) in favour of a story that focuses mainly or entirely on Woody, who I just don’t like as much as in the previous movies. Generally the movie is good and decent enough but there’s no real antagonist and the plot is quite loose… it doesn’t feel as though it needed to be made from a story point of view.
Tumblr media
Onward (2020) - 6/10
And with that I have seen every Pixar movie. And Onward is a fine one to go out on. While I don’t think it compares to the likes of earlier Pixar it’s still pretty fun. Or maybe I’m just a sucker for a medieval setting filled with bright colours and magic! Speaking of which, the animation was super and the medieval quest element is something that hooked me with the film. Again, plot-wise it does feel very familiar and I don’t know, maybe I’m past the point now of expecting Pixar to mix it up where their formula for story-telling is concerned but the movie is quite predictable. Nonetheless, while I’m not rushing back to see Onward I would hardly turn it off or refuse if someone wanted to watch it.
Old (2021) - 3/10
Oh boy! New M. Night movie dropped and my word, was it fun! For more of my thoughts on this… masterpiece (?) of a movie, please direct your attention to episode 41 of The Sunday Movie Marathon podcast.
T2 Trainspotting (2017) - 5/10
Trainspotting is perhaps one of my favourite movies and I had never bothered with the sequel, 20 years on, because the ending of that first movie is so conclusive. T2 felt more an excuse for these guys to get together again and in that, I probably would have preferred a couple of pictures on Twitter of the main cast and director, Danny Boyle having dinner or something. This is a fine movie - very arty in its presentation but meandering and dull in its story that doesn’t offer much in the way of proof that it had to exist.
Taste of Cherry (1997) - 9/10
What makes life worth living? This is a central question and theme of Taste of Cherry, and one that leaves such interpretation not only up to its central character but to the viewer as well. This film got me thinking about times in my life when I truly have had no answer to hard questions. Because it’s hard to convince people of things they are so adamantly against and harder still to rationalise what you believe if you’re not even entirely sure why you believe it in the first place. We are all of us alive and in recognising that, does that make it precious? And if indeed living is not a happy thing, why then should we fight so hard to preserve it? I felt upset as I watched this movie because I’ve been asked these kinds of questions before and it makes me feel stupid when I’m unable to answer. But the only real answer I can give is, everything. And if you can’t see the point then you’re not looking hard enough. Taste of Cherry is beautiful in its exploration of these topics and in its overall presentation, offering some of the best visuals in any movie I’ve seen - fitting for a feature with so much to say about the beauty of life - and an ending that as much pulls the rug out from under you as it does pull you out of the dark and make you realise just how lonely you’ve felt.
Tumblr media
Bones (2001) - 2/10
Snoop Dogg is Jimmy Bones! This film is super funny but I’m not sure it’s trying to be and I really didn’t love it overall. But I do talk more in depth about it in episode 41 of the podcast.
The Duchess (2008) - 5/10
Another recommendation for the podcast. The Duchess was pretty much exactly what I thought it was going to be and there’s a lot to like about it but generally it’s a bit sparse. For more chat on the movie, listen to episode 41 of the podcast.
The Man With One Red Shoe (1985) - 1/10
This was another one for the podcast and man, was it awful. We had to watch it at 1.5x speed towards the end because it just wasn’t getting finished otherwise. To find out more, make sure to listen to episode 41 of the podcast.
The Emperor’s New Groove (2000) - 7/10
Pull the lever, Kronk! Haha! Slays me. I do quite miss this era of Disney, where the animation was hand-drawn and the stories were actually compelling and funny. The Emperor’s New Groove is vibrant, it’s got great characters and memorable moments that will forever be ingrained in the memory of culture. All in all, it’s just a solid flick that doesn’t waste time, developing the standard fall from glory type of arc but smoothly and in an entertaining way.
The Suicide Squad (2021) - 8/10
Oh, bloody hell! They actually made a good one! The Suicide Squad is not only better than the ‘Suicide Squad’ of 2016 in every way, it’s a genuinely great film! This time, James Gunn (director of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy movies) is at the helm and it seems clear that Warner Bros. basically let him do what he wanted with the movie, as it doesn’t seem to bog itself down with the restrictions of a more family-friendly rating. The result of this is a far cleaner, colourful film with a clearer vision that takes from early Vietnam movies and uses that style to craft a superhero/villain movie that differentiates itself among the copious amount of existing films of the genre.      The Suicide Squad wastes very little time, introducing fun, crazy characters we’ve not seen on the big screen before and isn’t worried about killing a whole bunch of them, with standouts being Elba’s Bloodsport, Melchior’s Ratcatcher 2, Stallone’s King Shark (expertly rendered with fantastic visual effects), and Robbie’s returning interpretation of Harley Quinn.      A lot of Gunn’s trademark sense of humour is laced throughout and more often than not, it hits. The audience at the cinema were truly loving this movie and I’ll admit, I was right there with them. This mix of the gritty, gory and absurd is not something that should work as well as it does but the basic premise of the film is already so silly (and boy, do they know it) that it just works! Certainly one of the best DC movies since The Dark Knight and one I’d be more than happy to watch again. This is what the modern comic book movie should be: just balls to the wall fun!

World Building Wednesday!~ Etherium
🌼 I decided to share one of my AU worlds that is not Fell based. Yes... I know... what is the world coming to? Etherium in essence is my stab at an Outertale based universe though the story and the designs are very different. I really enjoy this one though I don’t talk about it too much. Let’s get started!
Etherium AU
Classification: Outertale Alternate “Nicknames” Info:
Tumblr media
Sans: Nova- Nova is the trickster though he is mostly associated with that of Loki. Loki is described specifically as “Playful, malicious ( ok maybe not that one), helpful, and nihilistic.” He helps others in a kind of goofy over the top way. He just doesn’t take much seriously. Nova is one of the youngest. He acts very childish at times coming to question how long he has been among the pantheon. Some argue his many centuries gave him a nihilistic outlook on life or that he is too young to understand the true ways of the world.
Not to say that Nova can’t be serious but he is pretty laid back. It’s one of the reasons unlike the others he doesn’t really keep his cultural ties in his design. He should have more Norse in it but nah… varsity jackets are cozy right? I mean he is wearing star shorts for stars sake. When asked about his job he mentions, “Hey, there kiddo. Nice of ya to drop by. Been up to? Heh well got a “new” job which is pretty cool. Not as cool as Pollux but I help arrange stars. Ya know, like the ones you see in the sky you can make pictures out of? I think you humans call em… constellations. One time I made this giant whoopee cushion one. “Then I lost ma job. Got a second chance though. Andromeda's constantly watchin me. hehe no harm done though.”  Both Pollux and Nova refer to each other as brothers but it is unclear if they are biologically related. Their abilities and strengths are nearly opposite and their mythos even more so.
Tumblr media
Papyrus: Pollux- The presumed older brother of Nova. Pollux is associated with Egyptology specifically wisdom. Pollux tends to be the opposite of Nova in that he takes his job very seriously. Once on earth he was known as Thoth gracing humanity with a mechanical and architectural knowledge that astounded the world. His mind and intellect put him at the forefront of innovation making him one of Capricorn's best and most trusted advisors.
He enjoys testing the mental prowess of others using puzzles and riddles of his own design. Unlike canon Pap Pollux cares more about balance in life. Something his younger brother seems to lack. Not all work and not all play. He is kind, helpful, and willing to give advice to anyone that is looking for it. To the little human Frisk he is a good mentor and teacher. (Pollux has made it his pastime to create a series of challenges to prove a humans worth. If they pass then they are able to speak/ see them. No one has managed to prove themselves.)
(more characters and info below the cut)
Undyne: Andromeda- Andromeda is not different from canon Undyne as she embodies the Mayan mythology. She is mostly closely associated with the feathered serpent Quetzalcóatl. A deity of wind and rain. Also known as the life giver. Though Andromeda tends to harken back to her more aggressive roots she has a deep respect for the King and acts as his guard. Just like Pollux she too acts as an advisor, though more on matters of security than strategy or mechanics. Such a position is where she first met Elara and to this day the two are inseparable sharing their very different cultures. Her favorite kind of anime to watch are mech based.
Alphys: Elara- Very similar to canon Alphys just as this version of Undyne is. Alphys is based off of Sukuna-Biko-Na (少名毘古那) or the shinto god of medicine and rain. Elara is still very much a scientist and one that has a unique fascination with living things. Everything from the planets, to humans, animals, and plant life. She particularly enjoys spending time in her private greenhouse creating and taking care of all of the plant life. Before the monsters were forced to leave their place among the humans she was able to collect all the DNA of the plants and animals on the planet.
They are stored in a kind of ark in which to preserve them if anything threatens their existence. Elara is very traditional in her work as her medicines are derived from her magic as well as herbal substances. She is very curious however as she is not allowed to interact with the progress of humanity but rather watches from afar. This is where her love of anime takes hold. Her favorites are ones like Sailor Moon or any type of magical girl anime. She will sit with Andromeda and watch them for hours. Her demeanor is very shy at first but once she opens up she will be a friend for life.
Asgore: Capricorn- The head of the cosmic pantheon he is the King as he is in the original. He is associated with Celtic mythos though he has taken on many pantheon roles in his lifetime. Ambisagrus, a god of thunder and lightning, Ancestor God, Sky God, God of Wind, Rain & Hail is what he is based off of. One such role is that of Zeus who’s main symbol is that of lightning and thunder. Just like the Zeus of mythology Capricorn is constantly debating his involvement with humanity.
Whether that be to stop their technological advances or aiding in their lives. A large portion of his time was spent with his subjects not so much his wife Aurora who is the jealous type. Capricorn is not a ruthless leader but he does know that sometimes hard decisions must be made. Just like UT Asgore he is kind and benevolent, however, he has a temper if you make him angry enough. His magical abilities lean more toward lighting then fire but he has that ability as well. He tasked Elara to watch over human development should a problem arise.
Toriel: Aurora- The Queen to Capricorn she is known to be easily jealous. It would explain why Zeus wife Hera also shares these traits. Her Gaelic deity tie is that of Arianrhod a goddess of the moon and stars. She creates life from the stars she creates sometimes causing them to take a form of their own. They are almost like living constellations. Some say that the Queen made such life to combat her own loneliness which her Son and Husband spent time away. In addition to the stars she is also known for being a loving mother and caregiver. In her time on earth she used to watch over and protect children and their families. Aurora though previously jealous of her simple in the universe has come to accept and embrace it. She is kind but rather over protective. Anyone that forsakes life will feel her wrath.
Muffet: Umbra- Umbra is associated with Hindu mythology as a goddess of wealth and prosperity. Though earthly riches do not concern Umbra she still has a taste for the fine silks and gold that she once had on earth. A little about the goddess that she represents: Lakshmi's name comes from the Sanskrit word laksya, meaning an aim or goal. She is the goddess of wealth and prosperity, both material and spiritual. Unlike UT Muffet, Umbra also focuses on a spiritual wealth. A peace of mind.
She is ever the optimist even when things do not turn out to go her way. In times of need she is called those in the struggles of self worth trying to bring them into a different understanding. There have been many a time when Umbra calms Capricorns quick and rash judgements, much to Auroras displeasure. Just as with the rest of the pantheon she is kind and helpful even with her yearning to return to the people she so loved before they were forced to the outskirts of the galaxy.
Grillby: Helio- Helio derived from sun is my OT Grillby. He out of all the characters could care less about either being a deity or an observer. He is known to be at a middle ground. He would rather live his days running a social establishment but during his time on earth he was known for his magic. Originally he was the right hand of Capricorn being depicted as a war deity for his fiery nature. He was the general of grand armies. His armor is something he hung up long ago but if called into court he will wear it once again. It’s design is very reminiscent of Roman centurions.
Though depictions of him are curious since his name back then was referred to as Merlin. He was best known for him magic and alchemy and the concoctions he made during a period of time far lacking in imagination. Just like Nova, Helio, tended to interfere far too often in the affairs of man though noble in purpose. He tends to be outcast among the pantheon for his past conduct but he is content in his lab mixing crazy concoctions. Everything from love potions to disguises. His forte is all about alchemy and magic.
Asriel: Azicree (Azi)- Azicree or Azi for short is the Crown Prince. By monster standards Azi is still very young, however, he has lived for far longer than any human can fathom. His mother used to shelter him until he begged for his father to let him prove himself. He still acts like a child always curious and desiring some form of exploration. Much to Capricorns dismay Azi enjoys spending time with Nova and the two become pranksters in general. He tends to not do as he is told, which is why they are in this mess in the first place. His reckless behavior had him appearing to a human that begged for his salvation.
The matters of life and death are ones that are not to be messed with. Those that do find their souls being tainted for all eternity turning them into something other than just a monster. 9X is an example of such tampering. Azi does learn his lesson and begins to try and shape up to be a worthy successor to his father if such a thing ever did come to pass. He studies off of all those he knows especially Pollux who is more than happy to share such knowledge. His associations are non existent since he was born after the times of gods. His abilities seem to be mimic based.
He is able to learn about abilities and use them at will. It is rare that monsters have children and as such Azi is the little prodigy child even though there are many times he just wants to be a kid. He makes friends with Frisk very quickly and learn a lot from the human visitor.
Gaster: Nero is the Gaster of this universe. He is Capricorns pantheon counterpart. In essence the Hades to his Zeus. He is the monster that everyone thinks about when darkness takes hold. He is the one that associates with apocalyptic events such as ragnarok. He is however not evil by any stretch of the imagination. He would be better suited to be called a god of chaos. He tends to reject the laws placed upon the rest of the pantheon regardless of repercussions.
It’s speculated that both Pollux and Nova were a part of him and crafted into the monsters that are known today. Nova being his more devious side which Pollux is more his intellect and drive. He has been locked away for a very long time in a prison aptly named Tarturus. His abilities are space and time oriented very similar to Nova which makes him difficult to imprison. He of course has been in his cell for quite some time and it is unclear if he actually has had a change of heart or using it as a manipulation tactic.
The only one he speaks with on occasion is Azi wanting to learn more about this planet they all used to call home. It is information that the others tend to not speak of. His father more so as he is afraid it will instill a yearning in his son. Nero’s genius is on par with his godly abilities such as creating artificial intelligence. Something that is not considered life. He uses Azi as a template for this new program...

FLOWEY:
F- Friendly
L- Life-like
O- Operating system
W- With
E- Earthbound
Y- Yearning
Tumblr media
F.L.O.W.E.Y was created by 9x and Nova with Azi as a template. He is a charismatic AI who was originally created as a helper as well as to teach the Prince about their planet of origin. Unfortunately Flowey does not have the same reservations about disobeying his father as Azi does. Even going so far as to integrate with key and vital systems in The Capital. He even manages to intercept a human vessel that he finds exploring. Flowey is not evil he just is driven to be the best help he can without regards to any type of consequences. He helps Frisk meet and learn more about their existence. He acts as a companion.
However when Frisk becomes friends with Azi Flowey's AI goes haywire. He begins to feel emotions he is not technically allowed to such as jealousy. This causes him to try and eliminate those threatening him which in this case would be all the monsters. Eventually Azi attempts to program himself into the interface changing it’s initial programming.

Background and Context:
A long time ago there lived beings of great power. They could bend space and time with a simple thought and bring life to their creations. These were the gods. Ones of great benevolence but also great and terrifying power. Humanity, a primitive race just starting to understand life itself, became their focus. At first their interaction was very rare only occasionally appearing to help but as time went on those interactions became more drastic. Their assistance and knowledge was seen as godlike to this humans.
They would bring gifts and offerings to their new deities in hopes that they would look favorably upon them. That they would impart their wisdom and magic if they were pleased. In time this became more and more tradition. A religion built upon pleasing these deities so that their lives would be far improved but this became a conundrum for the beings. Some remained benevolent and helpful while others becomes greedy and wrathful. The power began to go to their minds corrupting their souls. These instances were written down in variation by the humans making up grandiose stories of fiery chariots and jealous gods. Thus mythology came into being for humanity. A way to explain the things in which they did not understand.
As with each religion and deity the monsters each became associated with a specific culture or mythos. Some being pinnacles of their pantheon and others being lesser deities molded to suit a specific task. These monsters rarely interacted with ones of their own kind but as power shifted some of them took on roles of others. One monster could have been the god of war in Greek mythos but end up also as the god of thunder in Norse. There were no limitations to their influence. One such “deity” was that of the trickster. A monster that tended to be rather childish in his ambitions jumping from pantheon to pantheon looking to lighten up his other “deities” stern demeanors.
The monsters began to pull away leaving their presences in name only and occasional help but this was short lived. It caused problems, war, destruction, and feuding powers sadly began to use their civilizations as almost pawns. Their meddling almost destroyed that which they wanted to originally protect. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The “gods” faded from existence only being remembered in myths and legends. The great prophecy of the Norse. The architectural marvels of the Egyptians. Now they reside in the furthest reaches of the galaxy. They spread out among the stars but a group of them resided in a Capital of sorts. A station at the edge of the Universe. One which no human could ever reach.
Tumblr media
The Humans Impressions:
When the monsters left the humans to their own devices they worship continued long after. Eventually the magic and the miracles that had once been performed faded into history. The monsters were all but forgotten unless mentioned in mythology or scary stories. The humans never harbored any animosity toward them since they no longer believed in their existence in any form. They only understand what their ancestors depicted them as. The monsters as well don’t really have anything against humans either. All in all, they just go about their jobs and enjoy the universe, helping from time to time discreetly if need be but never showing their faces.
Tumblr media
Main Plot Synop:
The plot to Outertale is very simple as it is more based around the world than it is the actual plot. It is very similar to that of the regular UT timeline with some notable differences. Once the humans reach an age of technological advancement they begin to spread out and search the stars. Some of them encounter monsters which they mistake for aliens (hilarious enough. I mean Jerry looks like an alien.) They begin to build colonies living more and more outside the reach of their own galaxy. Humans however tend to turn on their own creating factions within the space colonies. Some more prosperous than others.
Frisk’s colony was one such beast being cut off from the other colonies as a drifter. Unfortunately Frisk’s family was nearly non existent and being stuck on a space colony was little to be desired. After seeing a streak of fire slamming into the outskirts of the colony. Frisk decides to investigate. They have always been the curious type disobeying orders and questioning everything. The colonies outer and more dangerous regions became their playground finding old pieces of technology. Eventually they stumble upon a crashed ship. One that  It seems to damaged to be used but it’s nothing like they have ever seen before. Everyone else on the colony consider it to be cursed.
Tumblr media
The strange runic language is confusing but Frisk finds that there is one lone computer onboard that seems to still function. It flickers with a bright yellow light showing an almost pixelated Flower with a =) face on the screen. Over the next few days Frisk returns to decipher the runes with the help of their new friend which they find out is called Flowey. It is a project that the curious human enjoys and for once it is nice to have a friend. Eventually the runes are deciphered claiming some sort teleportation capability. Once Frisk is close enough the system fires up on its own sending the human straight to the monster Capital on the farthest reaches of the universe. A place that no human has ever been.
The rest of the story is an exploration of this new environment. Frisk befriends the monsters who don’t attack first. They actually mostly want to engage with the human showing off their ability a little bit. A part of them misses the previous worship. Nova seems to take a particular interest in this new human especially when they befriend Azi. They work to help shut Flowey down only for Azi to impart his knowledge on the interface helping it understand. Frisk has nothing to return to so they stay with the monster and become Azi’s human tutor so that one day maybe the monsters can return and live side by side the humans once again. Both Azi and Frisk are almost like siblings coined the star children.

"I got you flowers. but, if you have allergies, i also got fake flowers! Just in case.”
For once, Loki is nervous. Not that he hasn’t been nervous before, of course he has, but this time he’s romantically nervous.
See, the last time he hung out with you, alone, had been an accident. Tony had set up a group activity of dinner and laser tag with you, Steve, Natasha, and Thor. Loki didn’t really feel like going but Thor insist he go. He finally broke down and told Loki you would be going which Loki would take any chance to have any sort of time spent with you.
Tony had to cancel because of some charity event he had been forced to attend, Steve had then asked everyone if they wanted to go paint balling instead. Loki merely watched as your face scrunched up into distaste. So he stepped in and told Steve he would hang out with you if he took Thor and Natasha to go paint balling.
That night Loki had the time of his life. It was just you and him the entire night, not being interrupted by his oaf of a brother, not being the butt of a joke from Tony that made the both of you shy away from each other. No, it had been perfect and if Loki looked at the situation from a different point of view he could almost believe it was a date.
By the end of the night you were both tired from the energy you used playing laser tag. You both sat on the curb outside the, now closed, event center. Loki was hyperaware of every move you made. He caught on to the nervous tick you had where you would tuck your hair behind your ear, even if it hadn’t fallen into your face to warrant such reaction. He caught on to the fact that you nervously bumped your knees together. He caught on to the fact that your hand, so close to his on the curb, would twitch towards his as if wanting to hold it.
So he blurted the words out without finesse.
“Go on a date with me,” Loki spews out, looking over to you. He swallows the newly formed lump in his throat when you look at him with wide eyes.
Finally, he sees you relax and a small, pretty smile takes over your cute lips. Loki can’t help relaxing and giving you a smile as well.
“Pick me up at seven, tomorrow?” You tell him shyly, pushing your hair behind your ear, again.
Loki’s smile widens, he wants to lose himself in excitement and give a fist pump but instead he nods at you with fake nonchalance. “Seven. Yes, that works.”
So, that’s how Loki finds himself at a flower shop, an hour before he is set to meet with you. He asks the store’s attendant which flowers would be best, and after some looking around, is handed a bouquet of white camellias.
The problem is, Loki doesn’t know if you have allergies. Granted he’s never seen you have any type of allergic reaction to anything, not even the seasonal allergies but he’s nervous. So, he also picks up some pink, plastic carnations too. He doesn’t roll his eyes when the attendant gives him a sly smile as she cashes him out, but it’s a near thing.
Loki finds himself at your door a little before seven, fist raised to knock but realizes he holds the plastic flowers up. He takes a step back and looks at both flowers, maybe he should hold the real ones up first? But if you were allergic?
Loki closes his eyes, takes a deep breath, then holds the real flowers up, the plastic ones behind his back. He steps up to your door and knocks. There’s no going back now.
You’re quick to answer the door, Loki internally softens, you must have been sitting near the door to answer it so quickly.
“Loki.” He hears you breath out with a shy smile.
Loki bows his head as you see the flowers in his hands.
That’s when he becomes a nervous wreck again.
"I got you flowers but, if you have allergies, I also got fake flowers. Just in case!” Loki stumbles out, pulling the plastic flowers from behind his back as well. He looks at you with wide eyes.
He loses his breath when you let out an airy laugh.
“Oh, Loki, thank you! I’ve never been given flowers...” You tell him which makes him frown.
“You are worthy of such affections, other men are fools for not drowning you with them.”
You laugh again and grab both bouquets from him.
“I don’t have allergies, but thank you for thinking of that. At least I’ll have some that’ll never die, they’ll be a reminder of this amazing date.”
Loki feels his heart skip a beat and reacts appropriately by taking in a shaky breath. He smiles. “I appreciate your confidence in me. It almost sounds as if I’m getting more than one date and I’ve yet to get you out of the house.” Loki points out, smug.
When you smile and turn away to put the flowers in the house Loki does a fist pump. He quickly rights himself as you turn back around and close the front door, grabbing his hand. That makes Loki’s mind go haywire.
“Where are we going?” You ask Loki, ignoring his smug remark.
“Uh-” Loki clears his throat and leads you to his parent’s car. “Well first, I figured we should eat something so we have plenty of energy for what I have planned,” Loki explains.
You hum content with his answer. “And your parent’s even let you have the car!” You say excited.
Loki knows you really like his parent’s car, an Aston Martin-DB5, so he had begged his parents to have it for one night, just to make this date even more magical.
Loki leads you to the passenger seat, opens the door for you, and when you sit in the car he takes your hand and kisses your knuckles.
“I can’t wait to sweep you off your feet,” He says only loud enough for you to hear, as if it’s a secret confession between you both.
Loki feels his heart skip again when you smile at him adorably.
“You’ve already done that Loki, but it won’t hurt to do it again, as a reminder.”
Loki smiles wide.
Tonight would be perfect, whether the date goes as planned or not. Nothing could ruin the first date with his future wife.

Soul ties - Part 9 (Bucky Barnes au)
"If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world ?"
Tumblr media
"Can I come in?"
It was Bucky's voice – of course it was. You tried wiping your tears away before speaking. A part of you didn't care if he saw you crying, but you still hated when you couldn't hold back the tears.
"Yes." Your voice was husky from the crying and you weren't sure he'd heard you until he opened the door. You were still on your knee, unable to even look at him.  Bucky seemed to understand talking wasn't really what you wanted at the moment. Instead, he kneeled next to you and unexpectedly wrapped his arms around your shaking body. You'd noticed how rare it was for him to touch people ; even tapping Steve's shoulder seemed to hardly ever occur to him. Your shaking stopped instantly as you gave into his embrace, leaning against his chest.
"He was about to call me a whore, wasn't he?"
Had it been Steve, he would've told you no in an effort to comfort you. But Bucky radiated blatant honesty when he talked to you, which you appreciated more than you would say.
"It doesn't mean he's right," he said.
"Maybe not. But that's still the word he wanted to call his wife. How did I even- fuck." You shook your head. "How did I ever fell for his tricks? I knew his friends were trash but...I thought he was the exception. I never thought he'd act like this with me."
"Act how? Rude?" Bucky asked, unsure about what you exactly meant.
"Yeah. The neglect has been going on for years, you know." You looked up at him and got out of his arms to sit properly. It didn't take him long to take a seat next to you, leaning his back against your bed. "I just put it all on his job." You grabbed Bucky's hand : you'd never needed to touch him as much as you did now. Something in the controlled way he breathed and the warmth of his skin helped you think straight and prevented you from spiralling.
"Is it the first time he insults you?"
"Openly? Yeah." You sighed. "He's been petty before but calling me names...never."
"I'm afraid to ask this, but I have to." He looked you in the eyes, searching for...what, exactly? "He was pretty violent when he grabbed your shirt. Was that the first time as well?"
The question made you look away once more. Inexplicable guilt flooded your body as you tried to think of some lie. You leaned your head back on the mattress and closed your eyes, opting for honesty.
"No."
You could almost hear Bucky's jaw clenching ;  his other hand formed a fist, whereas the one holding yours remained gentle.
"He's never been violent intentionally," you quickly explained. "It's just... We've had our fights, alright? And when we start yelling at each other, I always tell him we both need to calm down but that doesn't suit me so he tries to stop me from leaving the apartment and...well. It goes from grabbing my arm a little too hard or just locking the door and hiding the keys. He even threw them out the window once."
Recalling those fights didn't help your tears stop rolling on your cheeks but damn, it felt good to actually say it to someone. Wanda never needed you tell her things : she could just read them when she felt like you were lying. With Bucky, it was different. You actually wanted to tell him what had happened.
"What did you do when he did those things to you?"
"Not much. It only made me angrier so I would sit on the couch or even in my room and stop talking to him until he opened the door."
"You do realise how that's...far from right, yeah?"
"I'm starting to." You shrugged. "This might be stupid but, seeing how everyone here treats me, how you treat me, it's making me realise Darren is not this perfect husband I imagined him to be. He was the easy way, you know? We met, we liked each other and he had a good situation and I could already see the white-fence family every American movie depicts. I just didn't know it would turn into a soap opera." You laughed bitterly at your own not-so-funny joke.
Bucky suddenly got up, keeping your hand in his to help you stand as well.
"What are you doing?" you asked.
"It's still your birthday and I don't want it to be ruined by that guy," he let out in one breath. "C'mon."
He took a right turn after your bedroom door, walking you further away from where the party was supposed to be. You didn't walk for long before he opened an other door, walking you into his own room.
"What's the plan, exactly?" you asked again, more than confused. "I thought you meant we'd go back to the others, and..."
"Damn, I didn't realise how this looks." He let out a nervous laugh and you mentally slapped yourself for going blank over how cute it was. "Nobody even asked you to a proper dance on your own birthday and I want to fix that, if you'll allow me."
He looked back at you through his eyelashes, looking all anxious about your answer.
"What music choice do we have?"
His face lit up and he went through a box of vinyls on the floor. "I only have old stuff, I'm sorry. I believe this should do it, though," he said as he picked out one of the pockets. "It's from 1956, but it actually came out first in the 30's. Most people know the most recent, so..."
"I didn't know you were a music nerd," you said with a smile.  "How very cute of you."
He shrugged as he placed the disk on the record player. Piano notes started rising through the air and you recognised Louis Armstrong's voice.
"May I?" Bucky held out his hand and he waited for you to nod before grabbing yours, placing his left hand on your hip. Your instinct was to inch closer to him as you both started swinging slowly in the middle of his room. His blue eyes were sounding  you out.
"This was indeed a wonderful idea," you whispered, not wanting to break the moment as Ella Fitzgerald started singing her own chorus of Cheek to cheek. Bucky beamed and you enjoyed the view, returning  his smile before resting your head on his chest. His heartbeat became another rhythm to follow and be lulled to. "I can't explain how you make me feel and that scares me, Buck. And yet, it's the best feeling I've ever experienced."  The use of his nickname did something to him : you felt his heart skip, causing you to smile discreetly. "Talking to you is ridiculously easy," you continued, "and I'm not that muck of a talker. Just ask Wanda."
He laughed softly and you tilted  your head up as his chest shook from the movement.
"I know what you mean," he confided. "I don't feel all of the guilt I carry when I'm with you. It's refreshing. I don't feel like I'm being judged at every second."
"I couldn't possibly do that," you explained. "I know a little more about the things they made you do, now, and I'm more impressed at how you came out of this. You're still there whenever someone needs help, like when that fire alarm rang for no reason the other day. And when that thing went off in the lab, you took time to help me. How could anyone judge you negatively?" Your frowned. "Sorry, I interrupted you."
"It's fine," he assured you as the next song on the vinyl started playing (not that you were paying much attention to the music, even though Dream a little dream of me was an all time favourite of yours).
Your eyes scanned his face and when you noticed his own gaze lingering on your lips, you moved  your hand from his shoulder to his neck. You were still slow dancing effortlessly, and you could feel his breath slightly picking up.
"I want to do something," you muttered. "But if you don't want me to, I won't feel bad if you stop me." The last thing you wanted was him to let you do anything out of pity ; you didn't think that was the type of thing he'd do, but there was no harm in making sure. Your fingers fiddled with the short hair on the back of his head and you extended your neck a bit. You felt Bucky's breath on your nose and lips as you got even closer to him, closer than you'd ever been until now.
"Are you sure this is what you want?" he asked in a whisper. "Trust me, I do, but last thing I want-"
Those were the only words you needed. You pressed your lips against his and a whole firework show started in your belly. His hand on your hip pulled you into an even closer embrace as you kept playing  with his air. When you broke the kiss and rested your forehead against his, you couldn't get rid  of your smile. So it was true, what books said about butterflies.
--- I'm so happy to finally post this part!! This was definitely my favourite to write so far, even though it's a tie with the stars scene. :) I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I did writing it.
P.S. : the tag list is still growing and damn that makes me so happy!! Your support means everything.
P.S. 2 : I feel like this story will be wrapped soon. If you have any request/idea you'd like to see for a next one (short one shots or series), I will gladly hear it!

I just realized I didn't follow you...I see you all over my page AND I love your writing...how could I be so stupid... /lh Anyhoo I had a quick req (if they're open) for anything Loki related (Loki the series got me crying rn). Maybe Loki's reaction to the reader coming out as genderfluid or ace? I'd literally be happy with anything you write though LMAO. Thank you so much :))
Actor ( Tom Hiddleston ): Loki Laufeyson Coming Out Headcanons
actor / actress masterlist
‼ coming out to Loki as Genderfluid and Asexual ‼
Featuring: Loki Laufeyson
Warnings: coming out ( if that counts )
a/n - it’s all good, don’t worry about it dear! ( /p ) and i’m flattered! i love the series so much, so you and me both are crying. seeing as i can relate more to these prompts, i hope i do it justice enough. since Loki is genderfluid, i fluctuated between pronouns a lot, so i hope it’s not too confusing! otherwise, enjoy!
( sorry if they are OOC at all, this is my first time writing for Loki )
content below the cut!
Tumblr media
genderfluid
seeing as Loki is genderfluid themself, i feel like coming out on those terms would be a lot easier
he can tell pretty quickly that you have something on your mind, but doesn’t want to push you
take your time! she’ll wait as long as you need!
when you do end up telling them about your gender identity, their response is more or less lackluster
i feel like he wouldn’t really react all that wildly about it
it’s more of “that’s fine by me, i love you regardless” type of thing with Loki
nothing is going to make her love you any less
however, they’ll do whatever they can to make you more comfortable
whether that’s helping you get a new haircut, buying you new clothes, or whatever else you may need, he’s there for you
she’ll also be adamant about checking in with you about pronouns
you want to use a specific set one day but not the next? all good with them!
he makes it a point to show you their varying appearances depending on gender identity
one day you’ll see a more feminine-looking Loki, the next you’ll see a more androgynous-looking one
all in all, they don’t care about what you identify as
all he cares about is making you comfortable because he loves you no matter what
Tumblr media
asexual
i feel like this topic you’d need to explain more to them
yes, he’s heard of it before, but has never experienced it firsthand
so when you tell him that, hey! you’re asexual! it’s met with a more confused response
“… what does that entail?”
expect lots of questions from her about it
even if some of them come off as rude, that’s not their intention!
they honestly just want to get to know more about it as to not be malformed
she actually reads up a lot on it! looking over book after book about said sexuality
as before, this isn’t a make-or-break type of thing in a relationship
he loves you no matter what, and making you comfortable is his top priority
she makes sure to ask you about your boundaries with things
what jokes you’re comfortable with, where you draw the line with things, what makes you uncomfortable
all of it!
he intends to show you just how much he cares as a partner

Loki x fem!reader
Hey guys so, this is my first Loki fic I really hope you like it. I have a part two planned so if you would like to read it please, let me know.
Summary: Thor is sick and he asked Loki to get him some Midgardian food. He went down to New York, where he met a girl and she helped him to cook food for his brother. Maybe Midgard isn't so bad after all.

-----------------------------------------
Loki has always hated Midgard and everything that comes with it. People, traditions, clothes, food, you name it. He always thought Midgardians were below him, less than him and he was sure nothing could change his mind. He never understood what Thor saw in them and their planet.
His brother was also the reason why Loki was here. You see, Thor had the worst type of Asgardian flu and he persuaded Loki to get him some Midgardian food. There was just one problem. Loki didn’t know any Midgardian food and he didn’t have any books about the planets’ food.
That was why he was in New York, to get a recipe book. He wandered around the New York streets and people were looking at him very weary. To be honest, he did understand why. He tried to take over their planet after all. After about 40 minutes of walking around, he finally found a bookstore tucked away in a quiet alleyway. Loki swung the door open and the bell above his head rang.
After a few moments of silence, he heard a soft
“Coming, wait a moment please.” from the back of the store. In a few seconds, a girl came from the back looking around the store for the new customer.
“Hello welcome!” she greeted cheerfully.
“How can I help you?” when she looked at Loki she froze, but then just shook her head. He looked around and informed her.
“I need a recipe book with some of the best Midgardian foods.” She nodded quietly and walked from behind the counter. The girl hurried to the shelves full of books and ran her finger across the spines. She stopped and took out a thick book with a picture of pancakes with chocolate and some fruit on the cover.
“This is what you are looking for.“ she informed him and handed him the book. He took it from her hands and flipped through a few pages. Loki silently informed.
”I will take it.” She smiled and walked toward the cash register. She rang him up and he paid for it. But couldn’t help herself.
“Excuse me but, can I ask you something?” she asked and he turned around with an annoyed look on his face.
“Why do you want to cook our food? Didn’t you hate our planet?” he rolled his eyes and decided to answer. He had all the time in the galaxy.
“My brother is sick and he asked me to get some Midgardian food that isn’t fast food.” He took a breath and decided to continue.
“I never ate Midgardian food so I needed some references. I will conjure them up with my magic.”
“I don’t think it will taste really good if you conjure it up with your magic.” She confessed and he looked very offended.
“It’s not that I don’t think you are incapable I just think it would be better if you cooked it with your hands.” He looked at her confused and shook his head.
“And why would I do that hmm? Tell me, little mortal.” She looked really nervous but managed to get out some words.
“I think it will make him feel better if it would be made with love.” He scoffed and looked at her.
“What love? There isn’t any.“ She shook her head.
”If there wasn’t any, you wouldn’t be here.” he looked to the side with a weird look on his face.
“If you want I can help you help to cook it.” She tried to sound confident but he could hear she was nervous.
"Why would you want to help me?” he asked and she replied.
“I don’t have anything to do and I really love cooking.” She smiled at him and he narrowed his eyes.
“Fine, you can help me.” He decided and she laughed.
“Ok, my shift ends in about 2 hours so you can come then. Pick some meals to cook in the meanwhile. Now go!”
“Wait! I don’t know what to call you.” He said and she replied quickly.
“It’s (Y/N). go before I change my mind about helping you.” He just shook his head and walked out of the store. ===== When (Y/N) turned off the lights in the shop, Loki was just coming into the ally way.
“So you ready to learn to cook?” she questioned and he nodded.
“Let’s get this done with so I can go back to Asgard and never come back here again.” She rolled her eyes and grabbed his wrist and started to pull him towards her home.
“So my apartment is extremely messy and I’m sorry for that.” She confessed and Loki only grumbled.
“You midgardians, so fucking messy.” She glared at him and slowed down a little bit. They walked in silence and (Y/N) decided to spark up a conversation.
“What did you pick?” he looked at her confused.
”To cook. You were supposed to pick some meals to cook.” He opened his mouth in realization and spoke up.
“Well, I picked something for beginners so we wouldn’t have to spend hours in the kitchen.” She nodded and he continued.
“Some vegetable soup and pancakes with whipped whip cream, chocolate, and fruit.”
“Ok, I have everything for these things so we successfully avoided going into the supermarket.” He looked at her puzzled and she just continued.
“The seniors in this area are crazy. If their life depended on it, they will fight with you until death just to get the things that are on sale.” He chuckled and she smiled in his direction. ‘He has a pretty smile’ she thought but then shook her head. When they came into her apartment she kicked her shoes off and tossed her keys into the bowl on the dresser in her hallway. She shrugged off her coat and walked into her kitchen.
“Nox baby? Where are you?” she shouted into her apartment and Loki looked at her weirdly. In about a minute he could hear a quiet sound of legs scratching on the wooden floor.
“Hope you like cats.” She turned around to look at Loki and he smiled awkwardly. When Nox came into the kitchen he rubbed against (Y/N)’s feet and she crouched down.
Before she could pet him he ran towards Loki to inspect the man he has never seen before. He sniffed at his legs a little before Loki crouched down and put his finger out for the cat to sniff. (Y/N) just watched the interaction in awe.
When Loki looked up he saw her looking at him and he quickly said. “He’s not that bad.” But (Y/N) knew he secretly already had a soft spot for him.
“Okay I’m going to change into more comfortable clothes and we can start.” She left the room and came back in a couple of minutes wearing a tank top and black sweatpants.
“You want some clothes as well? I have some from when my friend was sleeping over.” He nodded and she went to pick them up.
“They will probably be a bit small because he isn’t as giant as you are.” She explained and he took her from her hands and went to change into the bathroom. When he came out she was already taking out all the utensils they will need. He tossed his clothes onto the couch and walked over to her in the kitchen.
“You have something I can tie my hair with?” he asked and she gave him the hair tie from her wrist.
”I always keep one on my wrist at all times, in case anyone needs one.” She informed him and he smiled. He put his hair in a bun and waited for her instructions.
“First cut the vegetables in cubes and put them into the pot. We are doing the healthier version so we won’t use flour.” He tried to keep up but was already failing miserably. When he cut up the carrots and potatoes and stirred them in the pot for a while, they put the water into it, and let it cook.
“Ok, now take out a plastic bowl from that cabinet and I’ll take out our ingredients.” She pointed to the cabinet and Loki complied. He never would’ve thought he would be taking orders from a Midgardian. He came back with a bowl and they put some eggs, flour, milk, and sugar into it. She handed him the whisk and he looked at her confused.
“Stir it I will be right back.” She went into a cabinet to take out some sunflower oil and a pan and put it on the stove to heat it up.
“You want to flip them?” she asked and he shook his head yes.
“I will flip the first one because it’s always messed up, no matter what you do.” She informed him and he looked very interested in all of the new information about cooking. She showed him how to flip pancakes and when to flip them and she went to check up on the soup.
She was washing the dishes from the cooking and their dinner when she heard a quiet snore. She went to look into her living room and she saw Loki and Nox sleeping on the armchair. She took a blanket and covered both of them with it and went back into the kitchen.
When she was done cleaning up, she put the newly cooked food into some containers and went to sleep in her bed. Before she did that, she checked up on Loki one more time and turned on a light on the other side of her living room in case he woke up and didn’t know where he was.
She woke up to the sound of quiet cursing. She rushed out of her bedroom to see Loki standing in the middle of the kitchen looking through cabinets.
“Good morning, what are you looking for?” she asked and he turned around looking alarmed.
“I was looking for some tea bags.” He informed her and she just shook her head and walked towards a shelf that contained her collection of tea.
”Here what kind do you want. I have fruit tea, green tea. Maybe black tea?” they both decided on black tea and went to sit in the living room.
“Why didn’t you wake me up?” he asked and she just shrugged.
“My cat was sleeping on you. Didn’t want him to wake up.” She said casually and he looked at the cat, who was fast asleep on the window.
“I… I wanted to thank you.” He started nervously.
“You helped me so much and it was really nice of you.” She looked to the ground and replied.
“It was no big deal. Honestly.” Loki stood up, looked around, and (Y/N) could read from his expression it was time for him to go.
“I’m going to heat up the food and prepare it so you can go.” He nodded and they both walked into the kitchen. =====
When she prepared everything she put the boxes on top of each other and waited for him to come out of the bathroom. He came out, handed her the borrowed clothes, and looked at her.
“Thank you again. For your help.” She waved her hand.
“It was no big deal, really.”
“You know, maybe your planet isn’t so bad after all.” He confessed and she put a hand on his shoulder.
“If you want to come and visit earth you can always come here and sleep over.” He smiled and nodded. He walked out of her apartment onto the street, looked into her window, waved at her, and just like that, he was gone.
He always thought that nothing could change his mind about Midgard but, maybe he found a reason he will learn to like the planet.
She changed his mind.
