“Alright, we got two rooms, one with just one bed and one with two beds. Should be enough to cover us tonight.” Sam claps his hands together as Bucky slowly walks up to the group.
This was supposed to be a quick in-and-out mission. It was not easy by any means, but it was nothing the group hadn’t done before. You weren’t even supposed to be here. Usually, you did most of SHIELD’s groundwork, directing and organizing missions alongside Maria. However, due to issues with communication with one particular agent in the previous mission, Fury had instructed you to be on-site to ensure there would be no gaps in the instructions Maria and Steve were relaying.
Except there was a gap. There was a gigantic gap in communication when you instructed Bucky to cover the cargo trailers in the westbound direction. Still, he decided you were wasting his time, so he left the trailers unattended, where the enemy was then able to take advantage of his isolation and overpower him. Had Natasha not interfered when she did, you did not even want to think about what could have happened. So you let him know just how pissed off you were the whole ride to the nearest motel since the world decided to unleash torrential rain at this very moment which made it impossible for you guys to navigate the jet out of whatever fucking city you were in.
Bucky didn’t say a single word. Not when you were yelling at him while patching him up. Not when you wouldn't shut the fuck up because he never fucking listened. Not when you were running into the beat-down motel with its flickering sign on its last life while still screaming at him.
He just stared at you. And he occasionally clenched his jaw.
This wasn’t the first time Bucky disobeyed your direct order and it wasn’t the first time he got hurt because of that. You understood him, tried to initiate kindness, and extended a friendly hand toward him. But all he ever did was stare at you. He never spoke to you more than he absolutely needed to. He never paid any attention to you when you would hang out with Steve, Sam, or even Nat and Wanda. And it did sting you just a bit. A pang in your heart every time he walked past you like you didn’t exist because you had developed a crush on him since the first time you saw him a few months ago. When you would put a little extra effort into your appearance every morning because he made you feel little butterflies fluttering in the pit of your stomach every time you would even cross paths.
When you did catch him staring at you, the weight of his eyes unmistakable, your heart rate would increase to match the flutters in your stomach, your cheeks heating under his gaze. He would look away immediately as if thrown out of his trance and catapulted into what he truly felt for you.
Disdain. Disgust. Maybe a little lust.
God, you hated Bucky Barnes. You hated how you didn’t hate him, not even when he dismissed you somehow even more than he ignored everyone else.
You were going to share a bed with Nat. Bucky and Sam could get the room with two beds because, of course, that was a reasonable conclusion.
Apparently fucking not.
“I am not sharing a bed with him!” you screeched at Sam and Nat indignantly while the smug pair stood with faux innocent expressions. They needed you and Bucky to sort out whatever tension was between them by any means necessary.
They stayed silent, and you, ever the chatterbox today, decided to refuse. “Nat, I can’t sleep in the same room as him. He hates me! I can’t sleep when I’m stressed!” You whined, pleading with your best friend to take some pity on you. She knew better than anyone what you felt for Bucky, and she also knew love better than anyone when she saw it.
Sam and Bucky walked a few steps ahead as you approached your door.
“Sweetie, you and me are the only ones keeping up comms with Steve and Maria. It makes sense for us to be split up tonight so we can at least direct these morons at the same time and handle any issues faster than we’d be able to if we shared a room and they were in the other one.” Natasha knew she was right, and Sam fought back a smirk as their plan was falling into fruition, given the look on your face.
Bucky remained quiet as if he could not possibly care less if you slept on top of him in bed or a ditch.
You were this close to wishing the latter was your inevitable fate.
“I hate it when you’re right.” As you approach the doors, you mutter and watch Sam take out the room keys.
Sam offers a small smile as Bucky walks in before you, patting you on the head and giving you a forehead kiss, “sweet dreams, pumpkin,” before shutting the door behind you as you roll your eyes.
“I’m not sleeping on the floor.” Bucky’s voice cut through the uncomfortable silence that had fallen after the lock clicked. His voice was raspy because he hadn’t used it in a while, and you barely held back the shiver that ran down your spine at his tone.
You take one look at the fraying carpet and decide that it has been years since this floor had some TLC. You look up at him to find his heavy-set eyes already on you, “I’m not sleeping on the floor either.”
His jaw clenches, and another unreadable emotion swirls in his eyes as he replies, “Guess that settles it, then.”
You roll your eyes and huff out that you’re jumping in the shower, not waiting for his reply- not that there was one. The water takes a while to warm up, and in the meantime, you peel your clothes off of yourself, dirtied by rainwater and the dirt, debris, and sweat that had accumulated earlier. You step into the shower and try to enjoy the feel of warm water cascading over your sore body.
You rarely made it onto the field as you genuinely preferred doing the background work, planning missions, writing up plans and procedures, assigning responsibilities to each Avenger and guiding them through the field while you stayed at the headquarters. Your muscles were undoubtedly aware of that fact, as you had to do a lot more hand-to-hand combat due to Bucky’s stupid mistake.
You couldn’t help but let your mind wander towards him, knowing you were completely bare just 10 feet away from him, how he would grunt in exertion and deliver calculated blows to his opponent. He was precisely your type: tall, brooding, broad shoulders, thick thighs. He didn’t speak that much, but his words were carefully weighed every time he did. He was so grumpy all the time, such a masculine man. You just loved it.
You tried not to think about how he didn’t feel the same. And also about the fact that you would be sharing a bed with him.
The water grew cold, and you realized you had been in the shower for upwards of twenty minutes. You shut off the water and wrap yourself in one of the towels provided by the hotel. You pulled out your pyjama set since there was a possibility that you would have to stay somewhere tonight due to the heavy rain. You didn’t think you were sleeping with Bucky, or you would have grabbed something a bit more conservative. You slip into the white tank top and shorts with a dainty floral design. You mentally prepared yourself to make a bee-line for the bed so you wouldn’t have to face Bucky while wearing next to nothing.
A few feet away, Bucky was scrolling through the shitty channels playing on the shitty TV, ignoring the way his heart raced when the bathroom door unlocked and you emerged from the small room. He tried so hard not to stare at your outfit, unable to ignore the way all the blood in his body rushed to his dick when your tiny shorts rolled up even higher as you innocently bent over to check over your work laptop for any updates.
“You really gonna wear that?” He scoffs and immediately realizes it didn’t exactly come out as playful as he would have liked. He winces at himself as you put the laptop back into its case and turn around to face him, and he can't stop himself from quickly glancing over your body.
Crossing your arms under your chest, unintentionally drawing his attention to your tits, you scoff at him. “If I knew I was gonna be stuck in this shithole with you, then I would have made sure to wear a fucking hazmat suit.”
“Relax, sweetheart, I’m not gonna bite.” He smirked, finally deciding on a channel he liked and turning his attention to it as you stood and stared at him, mouth open because out of all the things you expected him to say, that was not one of them, especially not with the flirtatious lilt to his voice.
“Do not- do not tell me to relax! And don’t call me that! And- and ugh!” You retort weakly, strutting the few steps it took to get to the other side of the bed,
Bucky licks his lips as you lay down next to him with your back towards him. Still huffing and puffing like the brat you were.
He snorts at you, glancing at his watch and turning the TV off.
“Do not snort at me, James.” Your voice comes out sharp, and he snorts again.
“Tell me again what I can’t do, sweetheart? " he asks in a mockingly sweet voice. It makes you sick to your stomach.
 With desire.
You ignore him and tug the small comforter towards you, the bed suddenly feeling really small, with Bucky’s large frame taking up more than half of it.
“Quit stealing the covers.” He grunts out, tugging them back towards him and leaving you bare and exposed to the cool air of the room. You gasp and sit up., using all your force to pull the covers back towards you, and even though you both know he let go, you still stick your tongue out at him.
He grumbles something under his breath, and you smile victoriously. You’ll let the covers go eventually; you need to bask in your victory for a few minutes. Your mind begins to relax as you snuggle into the bed before you hear a sharp exhale, and somehow, you go from facing the dim wall to being pinned under Bucky. His frame entirely dwarfs yours, and the only light filtering in the room was the street lights and moon, the thin curtains doing nothing to block the shine. You shriek as you’re manhandled so quickly and forced to look into Bucky’s now dark blue eyes.
“Enough. I’ve had enough.” He growls, his hand pinning both your wrists down, and you have to fight yourself to keep in all tells of how aroused you are by the situation.
“You’re such a fucking brat,” he continues. “Didn’t shut up for two hours straight. Always think you’re right. Always act like you’re smarter than everyone. Always fucking teasing me with your slutty fucking outfits.” He looks down at your tank top, almost angry when he sees your nipples poking through the thin material, but he doesn’t give you a chance to say anything.
Because now, Bucky’s talking. And he’s going to make sure you hear each and every word.
“You think I don’t see the way you look at me?”
A squeak escapes your lips as he presses his body down on yours.
“You think I can’t hear the way your heart rate picks up when I’m around?” His head drops lower, and his voice drops even lower, pulling a whimper from your parted lips. Your mind is spinning as you realize you may not have been as discreet as you thought you were. You entirely forgot to consider the fact that Bucky is a supersoldier, with enhanced hearing.
His rumbling voice cuts through your flurry of thoughts, “You think I can’t fucking smell you?” He practically sneers at you, and you must be a sick, sick person with the way you’re sure you’ve never been more wet in your life. “You think I can’t smell the way you drip from this little pussy every time I walk in the room? Every time someone mentions my goddamn name? I can smell her right now sweetheart. You like me forcing you down don’t you?” His breath fans over your face as you’re forced to focus on him, his body and his scent and his voice overwhelming you. Your body shudders when he gently rocks his crotch against yours, your eyes rolling back into your head.
“What baby? Cat got your tongue now? You were being such a brat to me earlier.” He grunts, squeezing your cheeks and jaw in his free hand as you subconsciously buck your hips against his.
“Bucky please…” You whine, squirming against his impenetrable hold.
He smirks, “what’s wrong honey? You haven’t been this quiet or polite all day.”
“You- you’re being such a meanie! You knew the whole time and just never did anything about it!” You whine, your voice catching in your throat with each languid rock of his crotch angled perfectly against your clit.
He laughs in your face and takes in the sight before him, your head thrown to the side as your chest heaves, your hips moving in tandem with his, your pouted lips swollen from being bitten so often. You were even more gorgeous like this and Bucky didn’t know that was possible.
“I wanted to see if you’d break first. But then, you just had to walk in here wearing this pathetic excuse of a pyjama set. And I just had to have you honey baby.”
You look back at him, a fiery expression in your eyes, “I don’t think that’s the real reason. I think you just wouldn’t be able to handle me. I think you can’t fuck me the way I need to be.” You spit back, not wanting to submit without a fight despite knowing that was exactly the direction this was going.
In an instant Bucky’s metal hand was on your throat, squeezing enough to make your eyes blur for a second as you let out a whimper. “Is that right honey? You think I’ve never dealt with a rotten brat like you before? I know you pretend to put up a fight, I know you’re two strokes away from cumming all over yourself just from a little dry-humping. I know brats like you crave attention, but baby when you finally get it you better not run away? You got that?” He asks earnestly, his eyes locking on yours.
“Do your worst James.”
The second the words leave your mouth, his lips are on yours. The kiss is unlike any you’ve had before, it’s immediately messy and passionate, his tongue sliding in yours as he takes the lead, swallowing all your mewls and whimpers, finally letting go of your wrists and your fingers immediately go to his cropped hair, tugging on the short strands as he dominates you. You scramble to pull your shorts down but his hands flick your wrists away, giving you a glare.
“Did I say you could take these off, huh slut?”
You whimper and shake your head no, finding yourself wanting to submit to him all too quickly.
He slides his briefs down to reveal his cock. You actually drooled a little at the sight of his length and girth, with beads of pre-cum glistening in the dim light of the room. You can’t control yourself as your hands go to wrap around his length, barely able to hold him in your hands as he hisses, bucking his hips into your hands before swatting them away once again.
“You don’t get to touch honey baby. Not yet at least. You yelled at me for hours today, it really hurt my feelings you know.” He muses, beginning to rub his length against your white shorts that are completely drenched through, your pussy sensitive and responsive. “I don’t think you deserve to be fucked sweetheart. You deserve to have this cunt rubbed on and came on. Just used like a cum rag.” He goes a little further, reading your reaction and when your back arches as much as his beefy body allowed you to, he knows you liked it.
“Please James please I’m sorry, I’ll be good I swear!” You whine, your voice rising in pitch as his bare cock slides up and down the length of your pussy, and even through the layer seperating you, it was euphoric.
“I dunno honey, might have to beg and cry a little more and I’ll see how nice I’m feelin’ tonight.” He smiles cockily, knowing he’s got you exactly where he wants you. Almost instantly your eyes are watering as you clutch his biceps, morphing your features into big doe eyes and pouted lips, jutting your chest out in an attempt to persuade him further. “I’m sorry for bein’ a brat and yelling at you. I’m sorry for talking back and- and I need you James. Need you to fuck me please I wanted it for so long!” You drag your sentence and bite your lip, tears spiling onto your cheeks.
He inhales sharply at the sound of your begging, stilling his hips for a moment as he restrains himself from cumming before he’s even seen your bare pussy. And in the next second he ripping your shorts to shreds, making you shriek and you can’t even get a reaction out before he spits onto your already soaked cunt, watching his spit mingle with your own arousal. You moan at the feeling, your hold twitching and practically begging to be filled.
Bucky breathes in your scent since it envelopes his nostrils without any restrictions for the first time. When he opens his eyes again and sees your hazy expression he decides he can’t wait. He’s not gonna take it slow because he needs to feel you clench around him right now. His flesh index finger teases your pulsing hole, shoving the tip of his finger inside you as you whine, legs spreading for him on instinct. “Fuck she’s just begging to be stuffed isn’t she? Just aching to have my cock stretch her open.” He groans, dropping his forehead to yours as you chant breathy yes’s, mouth falling open and tears continuing down your face as he finally spreads you open on his cock.
You have never felt so full in your life. Bucky was absolutely larger than average, in all ways. And it was exactly what you had been craving. He moans as you clench around him, your hole trying to push him out but pull him in at the same time. Before you know it he’s balls deep inside of you, your cream coating the hairs at the base of his length as you moan loudly, uncaring of the fact that Sam and Natasha were just a paper-thin wall away.
Your nails dug crescents into Buckys bulging biceps as he allowed you both a few moments to adjust to each other. “Oh my god Bucky you’re so- I’m so full.” Your words are breathy and slurred, and Bucky presses a kiss to each of your cheeks as he slowly grinds his hips into yours, not fully thrusting yet.
“You know I want this to be more than just a quick fuck. When we get back I wanna take you out, wine and dine you properly.” He whispers against your lips, his hands and voice gentle compared to his earlier disposition.
You nod your head in agreement, “I want that too Bucky, but I need you to fuck me right now.”
He laughs, pressing a kiss to your cheek before pulling almost entirely out of you, allowing your hole to stretch around his tip before he slams into you, making your back arch and all the breath from your lungs dissipates. You squeal his name as he begins fucking into you with little care to be gentle. Your hands scramble to hold on as the headboard slams into the wall with every push and pull of his hips.
“I thought you said I couldn’t handle you honey baby. But look at you now, so stupid on my dick and just taking what I give you.” He mocks you, his metal hand finding its way to your throat once again and squeezing, relishing in the way you cunt clenches against him when he does. You cry out louder than before and he hisses, slapping his palm over your mouth. He grunts through clenched teeth, “shut the fuck up. You want Sam and Nat to hear you crying for my dick huh? What would they say if they saw strong and independent you, stretched open and cock-drunk, pinned under me and crying for me?”
Your eyes clench shut as your words are unintelligible and muffled by his palm. He coos at you and clicks his tongue, making you shiver. “Don’t think too much honey baby, just take it. This is what you’re meant to do, not be a brat. Just take my cock.” He groans, speeding up his thrusts as the sound of skin slapping skin and your wetness squelching fill the room.
Your chest begins heaving as the oxygen to your brain takes more effort to get there. You were being propelled to your orgasm as you begin chanting the fact, your voice so pornographic and unlike your own but you can’t even find it in yourself to be shocked.
“‘M gonna cum, m gonna cum! You’re gonna make me cum please Daddy please!” The words leave your lips faster than you can process, and what was about to erupt into the most powerful orgasm you have ever had, was left denied and unsatisfied and you cried out, beginning your protests when Bucky flipped you around, your back to his chest as he shoved himself back inside of you. He pulled you up by your hair and brought his lips to your ears, his cock hitting an even deeper angle as you struggled to keep up.
“What did you call me?” He growls, not letting up his thrusts but expecting you to answer.
Your brain struggles to process his words, but once you do you’re quick to realize you let the word you often used in your fantasies about Bucky slip. You immediately apologize, thinking he must be off-put by your lewdness.
He cuts your scrambled apologies off with his heavy voice, “say it again. That’s what you’ve been really dying to call me isn’t it. Just needed Daddy to take what he needed from you didn’t you?”
“Oh fuck.” Your head falls against his chest as he wraps his bicep around your throat, forcing you upright, “yes Daddy, needed my Daddy to take care of me.” You slur out, Your hands clutching his bicep as his metal fingers begin playing expertly with your throbbing clit.
“That’s right slut, I’m your Daddy. I’m your fucking Daddy.” He impales you on his dick, his cock reaching all the rights spots as your brain truly begins to leave you, all you can do is succumb to the pleasure Bucky is inflicting on you. Your pussy clenches harder than it has before as your orgasm builds in the pit of your stomach, you try to run from it but Bucky’s strong hold doesn’t allow you to move even a slither away.
“Oh what does this little pussy clenching mean huh? Tell Daddy baby, tell Daddy what it means when I feel you clench around my cock huh? You gonna cum? Gonna make a mess all over yourself like the stupid little toy you are?” His voice is breathless in your ear as he nears his own high, your body shaking as your high begins building to impossible heights.
You slur out something that resembles his title and an exclamation that you’re gonna cum, and his metal hand slaps your clit once, and then twice, his gravelly voice in your ear degrading you, and your high explodes from your body. You feel it everywhere as you don’t register anything except for pleasure. Pleasure like you’ve never felt before. Bucky drops his forehead to your shoulder, muttering your name through clenched teeth as he calls you a good girl, before stuffing you full of his cum. Thick white ropes paint your swollen walls and it only amplifies your high as you struggle to breathe, your mind and body overwhelmed and overstimulated as Bucky pumps you full of his cum.
He gently lets you down and your limp body manages to cling onto him, needing to feel him close to you as you reel from your explosive orgasm. He shushes you, kissing your forehead, cooing at you, praising you. Everything you need to avoid experiencing a negative subdrop since he did just put you into such a submissive mindset.
It takes a couple minutes of his tender words and touches for you to come back to yourself, and when you do he smiles sweetly at you. Pulling out of you and shushing your whines, as he reaches over to his nightstand where there were a few clean hand towels, and he cleans you up, mindful of your sensitivity and he places a kiss right above your clit, his beard scratching the sensitive button making you shudder and mewl.
He wraps you up in his arms and pulling you closer, nuzzling your cheek with his nose as you blink at him.
“I was being serious you know, I don’t want this to be a one and done thing. I wanna be yours, if you’ll have me.” He adds, his voice trailing off and you put your hand on his stubbled cheek before pressing your lips to his.
“That’s all I’ve wanted since I first saw you.” You say softly, basking in being so close to him and having all his attention on you.
He smiles brightly, pressing his lips to yours with more fervour and flutters in his heart. “You’re mine now sweetie, stuck with me forever. No return policy.” He teases.
“I think you’re the one who’s stuck with me after you just dicked me down like that. No way am I getting rid of you.” You mumble sleepily, clinging to him as he smiles, pressing a kiss to your forehead and watching you slip into a dreamland state.
For the first time in years, Bucky sleeps a full eight hours. And he wakes up with you by his side.
---------
The next morning, when it’s 9 AM, and you waddle onto the jet, Bucky tailing close behind you, a hand on your back to support your weight, Natasha and Sam share knowing looks, and Sam quickly texts Steve and Tony. He let them know they were on their way, and they owed him and Nat 100 bucks because their plan worked.

Hold Me In Your Arms Tonight
Tumblr media
pairing : steve rogers x reader
fandom : marvel
synopsis : steve comes home from a mission, and all he wants is to be wrapped up in your warmth and in your arms.
a/n : i just wanted to write something tender and sweet and smutty so here ya go
warnings : smut
the usual murmur of the quinjet had dulled, into a thick and heavy silence. as the machine soared through the night sky, the avengers found themselves in a rare moment of quietude after a particularly intense mission.
the air inside the jet hung heavy with a mix of exhaustion, and tension.
tony as usual, was the first to break the deafening silence. reclining, in his seat, his signature smirk missing commented, "well, that was fun, wasn't it? remind me to thank fury for these vacations."
natasha, sitting across from him, raised an eyebrow, one hand pressing an ice pack to the indigo bruise blooming on her wrist.
"now's really not the time" she muttered, eyes gesturing towards steve, who looked the picture of defeat.
the mission had started promisingly and could have been regarded as an amateur operation. intel suggested a hydra base operating in a remote location, with plans for a powerful biological weapon that could endanger innocent lives.
steve and tony had decided that the entire team didn't have to come, so the two of them with natasha and thor had suited up and gone, leaving bruce, wanda, clint you and sam to wait in the compound. they had what they thought was a meticulous plan to infiltrate and neutralize the threat.
until they actually reached the base.
as the team breached the compound, it had become evident that hydra was one step ahead. the entire facility was a trap, a carefully orchestrated ambush. waves upon waves of highly trained soldiers overwhelmed the avengers, forcing them into a chaotic retreat, that had left most of them nursing minor injuries.
"we didn't know cap" nat said, looking at the simmering anger in steve's eyes.
steve didn't lift his eyes off the spot he was focusing at on the wall.
"they knew we were coming. how the hell did they know?" thor asked, slamming mjolnir down in the ground.
tony muttered something along the lines of "our intel was compromised" but steve didn't care.
as the silhouette of the avengers compound came into view and natasha heaved a quiet sigh of relief.
she knew that the only person who would be able to calm steve and get through to him was you, and that you'd be the only person he'd ever open up to a 100%
with a hum, the jet landed, and the four trooped out, to see an awaiting maria hill, a grim furrow in her brow.
"cap we need a debrief on the-" her words died on her tongue and she computed the glare thor sent her way.
she understood the message : leave him alone.
speaking of, steve had walked into the compound, stepping into the elevator, head dropping low, he finally let out a deep sigh, fingers pressing the 4th floor, wanting nothing more than to have you in his arms.
the ding of the elevator signalled his arrival to you before he did.
you were standing in the kitchen, listening to the merry bubble of the kettle as you boiled hot water for a warm cup of midnight tea.
tony had given you and steve the entire fourth floor as your residential area, and you couldn't thank him enough for the state of the art amenities and accommodation.
just as you put your two spoons of tea leaves in the ceramic blue teapot clint and his wife had gifted you for your birthday, you heard the elevator door open, and the heavy footfalls of your husband echoed in the hall.
smiling to your self, you poured the hot water from the kettle to the teapot, just as steve's muscular frame filled the door of the hallway, his long shadow preceding him as he walked into the kitchen.
steve could smell the scent of black tea before he saw you, the homely scent wrapping him a warm hug that he didn't know he needed.
there were softly lit candles glittering softly all around the penthouse, and fresh bouquets of flowers in every vase. the plush sofas looked freshly dusted and soft music was playing in the background
soft, muted lighting enveloped the space, casting a warm and intimate ambiance. the city lights beyond the windows twinkled like a myriad of stars, creating a breathtaking backdrop against the darkened sky.
but to steve, none of this mattered. the only view he cared about was the one of you, shuffling around the kitchen in fuzzy bunny slippers and your silk blue pyjamas.
he watched as you moved with a quiet confidence, navigating the familiar space with ease. the rhythmic clink of porcelain against the marble countertop echoing as the cups were placed gently on a tray as you selected delicate tea cups from the cupboard. he watched your fingers, adorned with subtle rings, tracing the edges of the cups with a practiced familiarity.
as steve observed you with a mixture of admiration and emotion, his gaze, fixed on you, spoke volumes as he recognized the beauty in the simplicity of this moment. the anxious lines on his face softened, revealing a depth of emotion stirred by the sight of someone he cherished engaged in such an ordinary yet intimate act.
"hi baby" you smiled at him, smile dipping when you observed at the tenseness in his body language. his shoulders were taut, remnants of anxious lines softly fading from his forehead as he looked at you.
"hey" he said, voice cracking slightly, even more as you let out a soft "oh" reaching him in two steps to wrap your arms around him.
in the dimly lit room, the atmosphere was heavy with unspoken emotions and words, but you both knew he didn't need words, he needed the unspoken reassurance that you were there with him, physically, in the moment.
he stood there, shoulders slumped, carrying the weight of the world on his weary frame. even captain america got overwhelmed sometimes. you approached him with a gentle understanding, eyes reflecting both empathy and love.
as you reached out to him, arms enveloping him in a comforting embrace, he crumbled.
the embrace wasn't just a physical connection; it was a lifeline, a silent reassurance that in this moment of vulnerability, he wasn't alone. your fingers traced soothing circles on his back, a rhythmic gesture that mirrored the ebb and flow of emotions he was clearly feeling.
he buried his face in the crook of your neck, desperate to find solace in the softness of your presence. the scent of your hair, a mix of strawberry and vanilla, familiar and comforting, mingled with the quiet warmth of the room.
the thump of your heartbeat, pulsing through your body, steady and reassuring, echoed against his chest, a gentle reminder that they faced the challenges together, and that as you had stated in your vows, your hearts would beat together as one for the rest of your lives.
"we were so close, but everything fell apart. the intel was off, our intel was compromised, we were ambushed. the team got separated, and we couldn't prevent the disaster. it's like no matter what i do, it's never enough." he whispered, voice broken and eyes haggard, pulling back to look at you.
his eyes sought home in yours, desperate to find the love he needed so badly.
you listened attentively, absorbing the raw emotion in his voice. as he spoke, his hands clenched, betraying the frustration and helplessness he felt.
running your hands up and down his back, you whispered back, "you can't blame yourself for everything. you're only human. superhuman, sure, but still human"
steve ran a hand through his dishevelled hair, letting out a bitter chuckle.
"im supposed to be a hero, someone who saves the day. but what if I'm not cut out for this? what if I'm just making things worse?" he said, and you found tears rising to your eyes at the anguish your husband was in, blue eyes as stormy as the ocean, nothing but insecurity and fear reflecting in them.
you reached for his hands, holding them in a reassuring grip, fingers running over his knuckles in a pattern only you could interpret.
"darling, being a hero doesn't mean you always succeed. it means facing challenges, even when the odds are against you. it means being brave enough to admit when you may possibly make a mistake and it means allowing yourself to grow from the bad days. you can't control everything, but you can learn from it and keep going. you're not alone in this. you have all of us and we're always going to be there when you need us because you're always there when we need you. thats what makes you captain america, steve, your unrelenting ability to show empathy in the face of danger"
steve found solace in the warmth of your gaze. the weight on his shoulders didn't vanish, but the shared burden made it more bearable. "i love you so much" he said, leaning his forehead on yours.
bending down, he pressed his lips to yours, as you melted into the kiss, hands coming up to hold his jaw, as your thumbs ran along his cheekbone. he rested his palm on your waist, fingers splayed out and tracing a pattern, as his other hand reached up to caress your face.
you had to reach up to wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him down by the neck to meet your lips. he pulled you impossibly closer to him, hands gripping you so tight as if you would vanish into thin air.
before you knew it his lips were heavy on yours, hot and needy, each kiss becoming more and more desperate as his hands roamed the expanse of your body.
his tongue pushed against yours urgently, but you broke apart, panting heavily, to kiss his cheek and whisper a soft "i love you"
steve swore his heart melted as you spoke, fingers caressing your cheek as he scooped you up from below, letting your legs wrap around his waist, hands gripping your thighs tightly as he guided the both of you to the bedroom.
the bedroom embraced an alluring intimacy, its subdued lighting casting a warm, hazy glow that danced across the plush surfaces. a large canopy bed, draped in rich, dark linens, stood as the focal point, its soft contours inviting and enticing. the plush cushions and silken sheets glowed softly in the dim lights,
the air was infused with a subtle fragrance of vanilla and lavender, creating a sensory tapestry that heightened the atmosphere.
the heavy curtains were drawn, swaying in the gentle breeze from an open window, allowing a filtered moonlight to cascade into the room, creating a soft interplay of light and darkness.
candles were strategically placed on various surfaces, flickering with a mesmerizing rhythm, casting enchanting patterns across the walls, rose petals scattered on the bed and the loveseat in bedroom.
steve carried you into the room, awestruck at how you had set up the room for his arrival.
"you did this baby? for me?" he asked, eyes softening. "all for you my love" you assured, smiling softly at him. "all of this and all of me is for you" you whispered, pressing a kiss to his chest.
you felt him shudder softly against you, and the sudden pick up in his pace as he dropped you gently against the bed.
"i adore you" he murmured, pressing kisses all the way from your head to your forehead, trailing down your face, from the curve of your nose to your plump cheeks, pressing delicate kisses to the soft skin, before ultimately stopping at your lips.
he pressed his pink lips to yours, lips moulding into one as he let his body hover over yours. his tongue darted out to lick your lip, begging for entry and when he squeezed your hip and you let out a moan, he slid his tongue into your mouth, tongue clashing against yours, teeth stopping to sink into your lower lip, pulling it back to watch it snap back into place.
you kiss down his jaw, reveling in the soft sighing that he floods your ear when you near his throat. he groans when your mouth latches onto that sweet spot by his shoulder, your hot tongue sliding against his neck, with your chapstick tasting of shea butter and cherry, fingers dancing across the hem of his suit like a tease. his arms slide down to your top, the silky material scrunching up as he pulls it up, marvelling at the skin below.
"touch me" you whisper against his mouth with swollen lips and nudging noses. he sighs at the phrase, sea blue eyes never once leaving the comfort of yours. "touch me, use me, use me to get rid of your stress" you whisper, rocking your hips slowly against his.
you could feel his hard on against you, and you gently rolled your hips against his.
you were sure it got hard, this facade of being perfect all the time. so maybe just this once he needed to let go. let go of the gentleman person and fuck you raw till he was calmed down and satiated.
your shirt rides up even higher as steve drags a rough palm over your ribs, his rough hands have you jittering. his head rests on your stomach, lips pecking the area around your belly button and down your hip bone until you’re rotating your hips around him. "you're absolutely unbelievable" he groans as he gently licks around your sensitive belly button. he groans in pleasure when you tug on his hair, smiling when you say, "i dont know how lucky I got with you" he murmured.
"touch me. just touch me like you won’t ever stop" you whimper out, and steve studied the want in your glassy eyes and nodded softly, stroking his finger on either side of your cheek. the intimacy of the moment is jarring against how desperately the both of you want each other. but it's sensual and sweet because its a long buildup his finally being at peace.
agonizingly slow, his fingers dip down the waistband of your panties, cotton rubbing against the back of his hand as he curls his fingertips towards your pussy. the gentle notion makes your breath hitch, especially when he spreads your folds apart to expose the hood of your clit.
his middle finger circles draw leisurely over the sensitive nub with slow, rough circles and your thighs twitched.
his voice hitches in his throat as he observes your reaction. "oh, doll, you’re — oh, you’re just dripping, aren’t you?" he groans as you guide his hand further, the pads of his fingers dragging your arousal against your wet entrance. "my gorgeous, gorgeous girl" he whispered, pressing a sugar sweet kiss to your jaw.
"I'll always love you no matter what" you moan, scratching at his shoulders shamelessly, rocking on the heel of his hand for more friction. your eagerness spurs him on and so he increases the pressure, skimming his fingers over your folds and pressing ever-so-tantalizingly near your hole before he returns back to your clit. "fucking tease" you whine and he smirks.
your steve is usually demure even in bed, ever the perfect gentleman, gentle with you as if you'd snap into two if he was too harsh with you.
but this steve was daring and experimenting with his rough side.
your next sentence died in your throat, a soft gasp leaving your lips when he pushed his finger inside you, slow and deep enough to rip a whine right out of your throat from the stretchs.
he inhales loudly, eyes fixating on your mouth when you hopelessly sigh against his neck. you shift your knee higher up his leg, giving him more access to finger you. he hums at your expressions, mirroring them when you suckle dark marks just beneath his sharp jawline.
he mouths at your shoulder, leaving glistening patches of saliva in the wake of his sloppy kisses. you rock against the heel of his palm, mewling as he drags his fingers against your walls and he muffles his own moans against your skin.
"you’re so perfect" he groans, fucking his fingers in and out of you. the noises that leave your pussy and his throat are sinful, sounding like the harmonious mixture of splashing waves and delicate moans, his hand cupping your mound while he fingered you impatiently.
"fuck, Y/N. you’re making quite the mess, aren’t you, my angel? god, your moans are so fucking sweet to listen to"
"steve, your fingers..." you watch his wrist snap against you, juices squelching around him. you nearly sob, waterline beginning to water as the pleasure intensifies, "you get me so wet" you whimper and you hear the groan he tries to suppress at the juxtaposition of your angelic voice and face and the filthy words coming out of your pretty mouth.
"that’s good. I love pleasing you, you know that?" he asks as you clamp down onto the crook of his neck, teeth stifling your wrecked moans as he curls his middle and ring finger against that spongy spot inside you.
his touch is generous, and accompanied by his weathered hands, you can feel your orgasm approaching soon. he fucks you faster, thumb rubbing at your clit hard.
while others would resort to their own personal pleasure to de stress, it's your pleasure that brings steve relaxation. the fact that he could draw earth shattering orgasms from you was what helped him feel good and he knew that it was only when you were completely satisfied that he would be too.
you cry out into his chest, bite marks littering his skin as you hold him tight and gracelessly grind against him until you lose control over your climax.
your body shakes from your orgasm, gradually and slowly, steve's fingers scissoring carefully in and out of you.
your pussy pulses needily between your thighs, toes curling as you focus your attention on steve undressing. his suit comes off, discarded somewhere in some corner, his under clothes come off, and then finally, he drags his gray boxers down his legs, and his cock stands proudly, slapping against his stomach as he releases it from it's prison.
you moan as you take in the sight of his thick cock, long and girthy and big enough to leave you breathless as it always did. steve after all was a supersoldier, and his cock was to match. he also had incredible stamina and you knew he'd leave you exhausted.
he nears you again, heavy against you and you reach down to stroke him, smiling up at him, realising your hand doesnt fit all of him into your palm. his cock twitches again when you moan, a throb settling at the base of his spine with an uintelligible moan.
"stevie, baby, i want nothing more-" you strain, reaching behind your own hips to take ahold of his cock and line the weeping tip up perfectly "than for you to fuck me. i want you to fuck your pain and your distress away" you say, and his eyes darken with lust, the baby blues fading to black, like a dark and thunderous sky.
his dick catches against your clit first, causing your body to jolt in shock before you sweep him through your dripping folds. he grabs ahold of your hips, seemingly spellbound as to where else to hold you. his eyes flicker all across your bare skin, unable to settle on the best spot.
his teeth reach down to grab your nipple in between them, one hand reaching up to fondle the other. his tongue darts around the perk nipple, sliding all around it, saliva dripping all around it. your hips rut wildly at the pleasure on your sensitive nipples, and the feeling of the rough pads of his fingers toying with the other.
a chorus of gasps sounds between the two of you as you slowly roll down onto his dick, harmonizing almost like a symphony. he stretches you deliciously, and he's big. very big. perfectly filling. It’s akin to losing all sense of direction, unsure of up from down, left from right. your hips stutter and still from the shock because through your haze you feel steve thrust upward and into you to bridge the gap and you whine as he brushed a sensitive spot within you.
a high pitched wine of "oh fuck!* leaves your lips, and a deep groan echoes in steve's chest.
you groan, finally feeling him sink all the way into your pussy, already shaking from the overwhelming pleasure. before you can comprehend, hes bottoming out in your slick pussy.
rising back over the curve in his cock, you lift yourself back up until only his tip is pressed up against your pussy. you pause before you sink back down. you see the almost animalistic need in steve's eyes as he gazes up at you through his lashes, eyes following the clenching of his jaw.
the wet sound of your pussy being filled over and over echoes, the air that had held a chill seemingly warming at your shared activity. you can barely hear his groans, your heartbeat thrumming so loud in your ears that you’re convinced he can probably feel it thudding in your walls.
your eyebrows arch in bliss as the ridge of his head catches up against something so incredible that you’re drowning in pleasure, a light that must surely be heaven flooding your eyesight.
but it's not heaven no, it's a sight far better : your husband, mouth agape and head thrown back fucking into you like your life depended on it.
what you didn't expect was the harsh smack to your ass, his big hand smacking the sensitive skin of your ass and you let out an "oh!" skin stinging and pussy dripping, before the longing for more fills you.
"you like that, my pretty girl?" he asks, pinching the fat of your hips.
you merely moan in response, mind melting at the pleasure. a second smack to the ass follows, and a large vein-y hand grips your throat and forces you to look at him.
"words doll, words" he chides, and you stutter out a shaky "yes" your movements are stuttering at the way a familiar simmering feeling begins deep inside your abdomen, but steve doesn’t want you to stop. his hands take a firm grip of your hips, forcing them down as he begins to thrust up and into you in that same desperate pace.
he continued to brush against that part of you that just obliterated any coherent thought, your mind melting into sludge as pleasure overtook every nerve in your body.
his hands traced over your ass, still hovering between the edge of good boy steve and bad boy steve, but all it took for him to slip was your whimper of "spank me harder daddy" and he was gone.
your sweet gentle steve was replaced by an animal, hands delivering harsh smack after smack to the sensitive skin of your ass, feeling it burn red hot as his large lands landed on your ass with a harsh unoact.
the filthy sound of his hand slapping the jiggly surface of your ass and the sloppy, wet sound of his dick pounding into your pussy echoed around the room, and you had never been more glad for the fact that your floor was completely soundproofed.
you’re not exactly sure what part of his body you’re holding onto, the muscles canvas all melting into one, so far away from comprehension, but you know you’re holding it in a bruising grip, one that leaves a perfect impression of each of your fingertips that would most definitely remain imprinted on his skin.
sweat beaded and dripped down his forehead, as he continued thrusting and pounding into you as if his life depended on it.
your mewls and whimpers perfectly complimented his grunts and groans as his hips snapped further into yours.
your back arched off of the bed as he let your leg rest on his shoulder, pushing the other one away from you so you were perfectly spread out, pushing one leg far away enough so that it was almost touching your ear
the smirk on his lips told you that it was gonna be a long night and that steve wasn't done with you just yet. he grabbed your face, fingers lacking their usual gentility, digging into your cheekbones, before pushing your face sideways into the silky pillow, making you close your eyes at the contrasting sensation of your hot cheeks against the cold pillow, the feelings setting your body on fire.
the sensation of you digging your nails into his back, had his hips falterring and stuttering slightly as he let out another lke growl into his ear, as he allowed himself a moment to bask in the burn of the sting before regaining his pace and thrusting back "you're so, so fucking good, just squeezing me so well hmm?" he growled, grunting as your pussy squeezed him harder and your eyes shut.
you only raked your nails down harder, although your moans were slightly muffled, and the desperate whines leaving your lips fuelled, him, as he continued snapping his hips into you, nails digging into your thigh, the pleasurable sting sending you spiraling. you could feel ths tight muscles rippling in his back, and you scratched down the bare expanse of his back, knowing it always drove him crazy.
the red hot pleasure in the pit of your stomach began to tighten, making you pant. he started guiding his cock deeper into you, which you didn't think was possible, and placed your hand in the outline of his cock in your tummy, and the filthy sound of your wetness and the sounds of your skin slapping together echoed across the hotel room.
the bed began to knock against the wall, the thumping sounding sweeter than the sweetest symphony you had ever heard.
your eyes rolled to the back of your head once again, mouth falling open in a silent scream of pleasure. for a second, you thought you had floated into another dimension, a low hum filling your ears, and your body convulsing in pleasure.
you heard steve moan your name, before letting out a low grunt, feeling him release his chokehold on your throat and hips, watching as you squirted all over him.
your cum splattered him all over, and your vision almost went black from how hard you had just squirted on him.
he reached out to collect your cum on his fingers, licking it, moaning at your sweet taste. the sight had you blushing.
you thought you were done, but just as you began to come to terms with the force of your orgasm, you felt his thumb on your clit, making you jerk your hips away, shaking your head. "daddy please, no more, i can't, not anymore" you whined out, feeling your pussy throb.
"yes you can, one more my doll, just give me one more" he murmured, leaning down to kiss you again harshly, in a rough, dirty, demanding kiss.
you could feel his hips stuttering, his cock beginning to pulse inside you, his thrusts becoming sloppy, signalling he was close to his own orgasm.
you moaned into his mouth, taking the opportunity to suck his tongue. "come on captain, cum for me, wont you? you work so hard and I'm so fucking proud of all your hard work" you whispered into his ears, licking at the shell of his ear
at your words, he dropped his head into the crook of your neck, his tongue poking out to lick patterns on the skin there, and you could hear his low, soft grunts as he chased his release, making the veins in his neck pop.
you could see his body glistening in the layer of sweat that had covered him, he continued to thrust into you for a second or two more, before a deep groan left his swollen lips, and an even deeper moan of your name echoed in your ear, as he spurted his cum into your warm pussy with a groan, your pussy clamping down on him like a vice, milking his cock
your body shuddered at the warm liquid dripping into you in hot spurts, covering your pussy in his cum, moaning in pleasure as the warmth of his release spread through you, enveloping you in a warm daze. panting softly, he stayed enveloped in your warm walls.
the both of you cuddled into the silk sheets, the aur conditioning doing little to cook your overhead bodies. steve pressed tender kisses to your face and body, whispers of "my beautiful girl, my angel, my doll, i adore you" leaving his lips like a mantra.
his hands, now no longer rough with want, traced soft patterns on your flushed skin.
"was that too rough for you?" he asked, concern etched in his eyes and worry lines appearing on his face.
"not at all" you said, quickly quelling his fears.
"you should do that again" you smirked, giggling when he blushed red. "thank you for that my love" he said, raising your knuckles to his lips to press a soft kiss to them.
"you don't have to thank me, steve. I'm always here for you no matter what" you murmured.
you were slowly sinking into a daze, but you registered him pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead and heading to the bathroom
"I'll be back in just a second honey, I'm just getting some towels to clean us up" he explained, grinning at the pout adorning your bruised lips.
sure enough he came back, with cold towels to wipe you up with and a fresh set of pyjamas (his shirt and your shorts) to slip into, gently tugging you into the clothes and cleaning up the sticky mess on your thighs and cleaning you up.
he brushed the stray strands of your hair away from your face, pressing a soft kiss to your nose then your forehead, and then your lips.
he fed you a glass of cold water, and a piece of chocolate for a little bit of energy in the morning. cleaning himself up, he slipped into bed with you, his large arms wrapping you up, his head buried in the crook of your neck, inhaling your scent as you snored softly beside him.
in the warmth of your embrace, he felt an unspoken reassurance. as he held you close, the rhythmic beating of your heart echoed a comforting melody
in that tender moment, he realized that in your arms, he was not just physically close, but emotionally anchored. the world outside ceased to matter as he embraced the profound sense of safety and love that enveloped the both of you, creating a sanctuary where worries melted away, leaving only the simple joy of being together.

all's well that ends well
Maria Hill x Reader
Word count: 1.8k
Summary: A couple of months after being rejected by Maria, R gets hurt during the Battle of Sokovia and it brings them back together. Pretty angsty with some fluff at the end and plenty of best friend Nat.
Based on this request from a while back but I decided to finish it up. I would love to write for Maria more so if you have any ideas please send them my way <3
Tumblr media
“I’m so sorry.”
Maria’s words repeated in your head every day since you bore your heart out to her.
The worst part was probably that she had never told you if she reciprocated your feelings. She’d just insisted it wouldn’t work out; it wasn’t worthwhile. You couldn’t believe what you saw between the two of you was imagined. It couldn’t have been.
You saw her through the glass door of one of many conference rooms, sitting outside, waiting to speak to Fury while you were in your meeting with him.
You should have been happy. You had just been promoted and were going to be an Avenger, yet all you could think about was a girl who didn’t care about you enough to be honest with you.
You did your best to block Maria out of your mind for the remainder of the meeting, attempting to soak up the moment. This was the kind of thing you’d been working towards since you started at SHIELD Academy.
You needed this. You needed a win. Having such a huge distraction would be great for you, and the opportunity to learn from a legend such as Natasha Romanoff was incredible.
You moved your belongings into the Avengers Tower during the following week. Your bedroom was right next to Natasha’s.
Per Fury’s request, Natasha trained you multiple times a week and reported back to him on your progress.
The more time you spent training with her, the better you got to know her.
Before you knew it, Natasha had become your closest friend. After feeling crushed about Maria, she was exactly what you needed in your life - someone unwavering.
Natasha knew what it was like to be alone. You did too. Maybe that was why the two of you clicked so well.
She was also very excited to have another woman in the tower. Before you it was her and the rest of the boys.
You spent most of your free time with her. She helped you heal your heart.
With some time, you no longer felt your stomach churn every time you saw Maria at work.
You were starting to feel okay.
-
You knew Natasha and Maria were friends, but it wasn’t something you really ever thought about.
You were reminded of the fact when they hugged to greet each other at Tony’s party a couple nights after you helped the Avengers obtain Loki’s scepter from Strucker.
You stood awkwardly behind Natasha until the redhead moved on to greet another one of your colleagues and Maria’s eyes landed on you.
Anxiety bubbled up in your chest as you gave her a polite smile and a loose hug.
“Maria,” you nodded.
“Hi,” she smiled, though it didn’t nearly reach her eyes the way it used to when she spoke to you. “I haven’t really gotten a chance to congratulate you since you got promoted.”
You didn’t expect a conversation.
“You’re looking good out there.”
You could feel your cheeks turning red, “Thank you.”
There was so much you wanted to say to her. You held your tongue, though, you would only hurt yourself.
Before either of you had a chance to say anything more, Natasha returned and began to speak to the brunette. You tuned out their conversation quickly as the only thing you could think about was how terribly you missed everything about Maria.
After a minute, you excused yourself to the bar, promptly ordering two shots and throwing them back.
You were soon joined by Tony and Thor who you ordered drinks with to celebrate your victory. When Steve joined the three of you, you took another shot with him. It was not long before you became a little too tipsy for a work party faster than you’d realized what you’d done.
Upon noticing you hadn’t seen Natasha since you arrived at the party together, you scanned the room for red hair.
You found her sitting on a chair, listening to a conversation between a couple of people, and clumsily sat yourself on her lap, eliciting a laugh from her.
“Someone’s been busy,” she said with a smirk that turned into a smile.
“Oh yeah, I can’t say no to an open bar.”
“Obviously,” she teased and you saw a glint in her eye that made your heart pick up. “You seeing anyone lately?”
You rolled your eyes with a knowing smile, “Prying while I’m drunk, Nat? I didn’t think that was your style.”
“That’s not a no,” she pressed on.
“You’re very nosy. But no, I haven’t even thought of that since… since I joined.” You thought back to what Maria told you. “Besides, I don’t need a distraction or anything.”
“I dunno,” Natasha shrugged. “doesn’t hurt to have some fun- and seeing someone doesn’t mean you have a distraction in your life. There’s a person behind the big, strong, Avenger everyone sees. Being human doesn’t make you weak.”
Your eyes flitted to Maria who was across the room, engaged in a conversation with Steve, and you rolled your eyes in annoyance, “You should tell that to her.”
Natasha’s face crinkled in confusion and she followed your line of sight, her eyes widening as she turned back to face you, “What is that supposed to mean?”
You groaned and had to stop yourself from facepalming, drinking made you loose lipped, “I’ll tell you about it sober, we’re not getting into this now.”
-
The last thing you thought you would have to do that night was fight sentient fucking robots while intoxicated. You thought you had been holding your own well enough but got knocked to the floor when a bogie hit you in the head.
Your ears rang loudly and you’d been sure the stupid piece of metal was about to kill you as you held your head in agony until you heard gunshots and it never came.
You had Maria to thank for that.
-
The next time you found yourself being thrown to the ground by a bogie was in Sokovia. You weren’t so lucky this time, you landed on a sharp piece of metal that lodged itself in your abdomen as your chin slammed into the concrete ground.
You cried out in pain as you tried to get your bearings, knowing that if you didn’t act quickly you would die.
Searing pain coursed through your entire body as you reached to unstrap your gun from your thigh. Hot tears ran down your cheeks and mixed with dirt and the fresh blood on your chin.
You shot the hunk of metal until it collapsed on the floor. You were grateful the lifeboats were taking people from the floating island to the helicarrier every couple of minutes and hobbled over as quickly as your body could go in this state.
Every breath and step you took was excruciating. The only thing you could think about was how badly you wanted to survive.
The moment Steve laid his eyes on you, he gestured to Natasha and ran over, picking you off your feet and carrying you the rest of the distance. You let out a sob of relief when you no longer had to rely on your feet carrying you the rest of the way, not knowing how much further you would have been able to make it.
You heard him speaking over comms and vaguely caught Natasha’s response, telling him to take you onto the helicarrier for medical attention while she continued to direct people onto lifeboats.
“You’re going to be alright, okay?” Steve murmured, and you couldn’t tell if he even believed himself.
Nonetheless, you nodded into his neck and let your eyes close.
-
You woke up in a bed with an IV attached to you. You were grateful that the lights were mostly turned off, besides a lamp in the room, keeping your eyes from hurting too much.
Your whole body ached, your stomach especially, and you groaned restlessly.
Natasha was sitting in a chair to your right reading a book and Maria was beside her, her eyes closed. When Natasha heard you, her head snapped up from her book and she let out a sigh of relief, taking your hand. “Hey, you’re okay.”
She offered you some water and gave you medication that was left for you in case you woke up, “This should make you feel better, you’ll probably be a little drowsy soon but the pain should go away.”
“Thank you, ‘Tasha,” you smiled gratefully as best you could.
“You scared me, you know - all of us, really,” She said, her voice a little shaky. “I’m glad you’re alright.”
“Me too,” you chuckled.
Natasha smiled softly and cleared her throat, “I’ll come check on you again soon but I know Maria wants to talk to you.”
She nudged the brunette awake gently, nodding in your direction, “Hey, she just woke up a couple minutes ago.”
Maria muttered a ‘thank you’ to Natasha for waking her up and moved to her previously occupied seat when she left.
“You feel okay?” she asked when the two of you alone, and you figured she was avoiding whatever it was she actually wanted to say.
“No, I was impaled, I feel like shit… Why are you here?”
Maria’s eyebrows raised for a second, caught off guard by how blunt you were being, and took a breath, “I wanted to apologize.”
“For?”
“When I rejected you. I -”
“That’s not necessary, Maria, I really don’t want to rehash this.”
She shook her head and clenched her jaw, “Please. I - I was wrong.”
You quirked a brow. That was new. It wasn’t every day Maria Hill was wrong about something. And it definitely wasn’t every day Maria Hill looked like she was about to cry.
Maria took your silence as permission to continue, “I’m in love with you. And I’m sorry you had to almost die for me to admit it. I was so afraid to let myself love you because I was terrified knowing that something like this could happen to you. But when I got the call I realized that I could die never knowing what it’s like to kiss you.” Her voice broke as she finished her sentence. She let out a breath to steady herself as a tear streaked down her face.
You reached out your hand to the edge of the bed, palm up. Maria put her hand on top of yours and you squeezed lightly.
Her breath hitched and tears welled in your eyes while you watched her lips turn downwards as she tried not to cry. “I’m so sorry,” Those words sounded different this time.
Your heart ached for her. You nodded, understanding. “I know… it’s okay.”
She swallowed and wiped her tears, taking a deep breath. “I’m sorry.”
You shook your head, a soft smile playing on your lips, “Why don’t you find out what it’s like to kiss me already, hm?”

Heat Of The Moment
Pairings: Carol Danvers x fem!reader; Maria Hill x fem!reader (platonic); Nick Fury x fem!reader (platonic)
Warnings: brief mention of injuries; reader gets hurt
Summary: you put yourself in danger one too many times and Carol gets worried. A heart to heart is needed…
Genre: hurt/ comfort
a/n: I watched the Marvels today so Carol’s on my mind ;)
*** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ***
You were laughing with some of your SHIELD colleagues when Carol marched in. “I want you to quit your job,” she demanded.
“Um.. ok. What’s wrong?”
Your colleagues muttered awkwardly and moved away giving you and Carol some space. You sighed and gestured around you. “You had to do it here?”
“I’m sorry,” she replied gently. “But when Maria Hill calls me up to inform me that my girlfriend’s been injured, I get worried. You didn’t think to mention you got shot?! Twice!”
“Let’s start with the part where Maria called you. Why?” Carol looked away. “Why Carol?”
“Oh it’s ‘Carol’ now?”
“It is until you stop acting so damn mysterious and tell me why my boss has you on speed dial!”
“Ladies!” Nick Fury’s voice rang out across the office. He pointed to the conference room. “Both of you. Now.”
You refused to sit down, instead pacing the length of the room looking anywhere but at Carol. You were angry and confused that she’d gone behind your back and taken protective measures without consulting you.
Carol sat down, watching you and saying nothing. Fury finally broke the silence. “What’s the damn issue? Yelling in the workplace like children is not professional.”
“Going behind my back is not professional!” you shouted. “Checking in on me without involving me is not professional! Having my boss on speed dial is not professional Carol.”
“Please stop calling me Carol!” she snapped. Taken aback, you stared at her in surprise. “And don’t give me that look. You know why. I’m off world 355 days a year. I’m not here. And it’s great you’re working for SHIELD. I know that’s your dream. But then you signed up to missions, to more, and suddenly I’m two galaxies away receiving calls from your boss telling me you can’t talk to me because you’re lying unconscious in a hospital bed, damn near close to dying!” Tears were pooling in your girlfriend’s eyes.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry I don’t make it easy. I’m sorry I don’t always communicate. But I’m not quitting missions or SHIELD to make you feel safer. I came alive Carol. Storming those bases, analysing intel, working with the Avengers, working with you… I’m not giving it up now I’ve experienced it. You can’t ask me to do that.”
Carol rubbed at her eyes then looked at you coldly. “Then I guess we’re not meant for each other y/n.” She got up and left the room, ignoring your stammering voice.
“I think you just got dumped,” Fury informed you.
“Yes I’m well aware of that!” you snapped, exiting the room angrily.
You headed straight for your room and fell on your bed, bursting into tears. You were so happy when Carol had first looked at you then talked to you and then eventually kissed you. You had everything you could possibly want… and you’d just lost it all.
***
Several weeks later, you were on a standard recon mission for SHIELD. Captain America was supporting but it was considered unlikely he’d be needed. You knew he was there to keep an eye on Sharon Carter, as they’d recently started seeing each other.
The thought made you smile and your heart ached with a memory of Carol and the cheeky looks she’d send you in meetings that were meant to be serious.
“I’ve got the back,” you informed your team mates on comms, running to a padlocked door. A simple silent detonation device blasted it open and you headed inside, gun at the ready.
“All clear-“ Someone crashed into you making you gasp and drop your gun. You scrabbled with one hand trying to find it and someone trod on your fingers making you yelp.
The attacker picked you up and threw you with force against the far wall. You hit your head, cried out and everything went black.
***
Slowly you opened your eyes to see your hand smothered in bandages, an IV poking out. One leg was in a cast, supported by a sling from the ceiling. You could feel tight skin across your right cheek and winced when you touched it.
“I wouldn’t do that.” Maria strode into the room, clipboard in hand, Dr Cho behind her. “Helen’s done some cell reconstruction on your cheek, it was ripped apart by exposed steel supports in the wall.”
“Deputy Director Hill, with all due respect, Agent y/l/n should be resting right now. She has just had major surgery and needs time to recover. Questioning can wait,” Dr Cho announced.
“Doctor, as I’ve told you, I just need a few minutes to ask some questions.” Maria shot the doctor a firm gaze. “Five minutes.”
Helen muttered then swiftly left the room, talking intently to herself. Maria watched her go then turned to you. “Agent.”
“Maria,” you replied, “you’ve known me for six years.”
“Fine… y/n, don’t you ever pull crap like that again.” Her tone was firm but her eyes twinkled. “You gave us all a fright. What were you thinking charging into danger like that?”
“Cap was on support and I’ve run far more dangerous ops than this one Maria.”
“Cap’s eyes were on Sharon Carter.” Maria sighed. “I’m over-ruling Fury on that one next time.”
“Hmm.. let me be a fly on the wall for that conversation,” you smirked, making Maria roll her eyes.
“Now then, as for the – “
“WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!” Carol barged into the room, breathing heavily like she’d run a marathon and glaring at you.
“Why hello to you too,” you replied. “You’ve interrupted a mission debrief so if you join the queue in the corridor…”
“You’re not that popular, don’t flatter yourself,” Maria teased, shutting up when she noticed Carol’s side eye. “Okay, y/n we can resume this later.” She quietly exited the room.
You glared at Carol. “I was working.”
“You got thrown against a brick wall, had your face torn apart by a steel barrier, broke three bones in your foot and fractured four fingers… that is not working!”
“Touche. Someone read my file.”
“Y/n…” Carol whimpered. “Please. Talk to me.”
“As I recall we’re not meant for each other so we probably shouldn’t be talking,” you replied coldly.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry y/n.”
“Sorry isn’t enough anymore.” You leant back on your pillow and closed your eyes. “We’re done here Carol.”
“Sweet…”
“Don’t even start.”
Silence fell. You slowed down your breathing and heart rate. Having Carol back was making you feel all sorts of emotions and you didn’t want to admit you were over the moon to see her. You lay further back against your pillows and soon drifted off into a restless sleep.
***
Hours later you opened your eyes. You turned your head slightly to see painkillers being drip fed into you.
“Hey… how are you feeling?”
You looked tiredly at Carol. “Like I lost a fight with a brick wall.”
“I deserved that.”
“Yeah. You were mean.” You sighed.
“But?”
“What makes you think there’s a but?”
“Always is with you,” she chuckled and your heart leapt at the sound.
“But… so was I. We both said some things.”
“We sure did.”
“We’ve said worse,” you commented dryly making her chuckle again. “But you were mean. I get where you’re coming from though.”
“Oh yeah?”
“You’re away 355 days of the year. You live in space. I’m not always up there. I worry too. This isn’t a one-way street hun.”
“Hun?”
“Term of endearment. Short for honey. Aka you.”
Carol smirked and moved closer, perching on the edge of your bed. She ran a hand over the good side of your face, pressing her fingertips against your lips gently. You kissed them smiling up at her.
“I miss you,” you whispered.
“I was out of line,” she replied. “What I said… I said it because I love you y/n.”
You stared at her. Neither of you had said the three little words yet and hearing her say them made you smile. “I love you too dumbass.”
“Oh I’m the dumbass? You’re the one who took on a brick wall.”

This chapter was really hard to write because I didn't want to focuse too much on the violence but I did want to put the tension around everyone. They are not agents or people with superpowers, so perhaps their reactions is tied up to what they had seen in movies and who they are more so that because of that expertise. Chapter 15
Five minutes to midnight
You let out a groan, your body weighted you down and the world in front of your eyes was spinning out of control. You opened your mouth, but no sound came, only the ragged breathing that created a piercing pain on your chest.
Wanda
Her name came into mind, and soon after panic rose in your mind. You needed to move, and fast, Wanda was outside and she was in danger. With great effort you tried to sit up, pain clutch at your arm and the office spiralled in front of your eyes. You held your head, taking a deep breath that made you open your mouth in discomfort.
You tried to evaluate the damage, your legs were left mostly unharmed, but your midsection, your arms and your head had been harmed quite badly. You grimaced trying to stand up holding onto the table, your eyes closed for a moment before you found the broken mobile on the far corner. Staggering towards the place, you let out a cry when you tried to grab the mobile. The screen had been crushed, and the normal functions of the phone were not available for you.
“Tony.” You rasped out, “Friday call Tony.”
The mobile flickered, the sound was not good and suddenly it just turned off. You dropped the article turning around, it would be up to you to get help. You dragged yourself to the door, each step a painful reminder of the fight you held with the man.
Your hand lifted to the panel to call for the elevator. You waited, taking slow breaths, trying to hold onto your sanity while thinking about Wanda. About your family.
“Y/N!!!!”
You let out a whimper, turning around fast made you crash against the wall. your eyes went wide, and relief soon filled your expression when you noticed Maria coming towards you with the security detail of the building and Nick Fury.
“Maria, Wanda…” you started watching as everyone started checking the floor, Fury held you up with Maria cupping your face, completely pale and trembling.
“Wanda…you didn't tell me…” you groaned trying to glare at the woman, but Maria shook her head.
“I wasn't supposed to, Y/N. Natasha made me promise, it was to make sure Wanda's secret was safe…”
You shook your head glaring at Maria and Fury, “if anything happens to her…”
You groaned again, tears coming out of your eyes, Maria’s lip quivered while putting your face in her hands.
“I'm sorry, they already sent a search and capture warrant with Wanda's car description and plates.” Maria tried to soothe your worries; Fury nodded to the lift where a pair of paramedics came in ready to assist you.
“America, Billy and Tommy…”
“I sent someone over there, everything is being taken care of.” Fury placed you on the floor slowly, the stern glance firmly in place.
“He said something to you, anything else that may help us in our search?”
You shook your head letting the paramedics do their job, you tried to wrap your mind in what was happening, the officials and security looking around the place.
“I just wished you had told me…” You mumbled tiredly; your attention turned to the two men attending to your wounds. “How bad is it?”
“I think we need to take you to the hospital,” one of them started checking the bruises and the general stated you were in, “some bones may be broken but we cannot be certain unless we take some x-rays or…”
“No, I need…I need a computer.” You replied shaking your head, lifting your face to see Maria there, “call Tony.”
“Y/N I think…” Fury started but your eyes shot a heated glare towards the man.
“My family is in danger, Fury.” You motioned to the paramedics so they could help you up, “you need help, and right now Tony and I are your best hope, you got us into this mess, you better pray to God that this ends well…”
Fury held your stare with his sole eye, he pursed his lips tempted to say something against your plan but you were probably right. He nodded curtly, with Maria already making the call to Tony; you let out a breathy cough shivering while motioning to one of the medics to come closer.
“I need something for the pain, but not to leave me out of it, do you have something like that?”
He hesitated glancing at his partner then at you, “we’re not supposed to….”
“Don’t worry, I will take full responsibility, just…give me your best drug I will need it.” You mumbled making your way to the closest lab, you sat down in one of the chairs while turning on the computer.
“There are two patrols driving right now towards your house, they will be there in twenty minutes,” Fury entered the room with you, his eye glancing curiously at the screen, “Tony is coming over, he will be here in ten. What exactly are you doing?”
“This man…I know you guys want him for the deals he is making but, Maria, how bad is it going to be for Wanda? I need to know everything.”
Fury and Maria glanced at one another, you hit the table with your fist glaring at the both of them while pointing to the screen.
“I can hack into her mobile and his, I can put a tracker on them or the car Wanda is using, but I need to know everything! I need to know she is going to be fine! That nothing is going to happen!!”
This last part was said with tears welling up in your eyes, “tell me you don’t think this man is going to hurt Wanda or Billy or Tommy or even America…and I step aside…”
Maria clenched her jaw sitting right beside you turning on another of the computers, “what do you want me to do?”
Fury huffed putting his mobile out and typing really quick before making a phone call, you winced with your eyesight getting blurry every once in a while, but your fingers moving decisively over the keyboard.
________________
Wanda drove in silence, her mind completely blank reflecting what her face was trying to convey. The world passing her through was moving in slow motion, Wanda could not feel anything at all, she was just going through the motions with the weight of Vision's hand on her thigh gripping her tightly to the point she could almost feel the bruises he was leaving on her.
For a brief moment Wanda played with the idea of crashing her car against a tree or a wall. She could actually spot a couple of places that could work for her plan, she knew that whatever happened her boys would be okay. She liked to think that you wouldn't leave them alone and that maybe Natasha would also come forth to help them out. But Vision cut her hopes off when he punched her thigh pressing the barrel of the gun on her ribs.
“Don't even think about it,” Vision spoke in a dangerous whisper, the cold anger sent shivers down Wanda's back, “if we're not there by the time the clock strikes the six, Agatha will make sure our children join us in death.”
“No…” Wanda held her tongue before she could say something else.
She was not surprised that Agatha's name came into play in the conversation. The young woman had known that their neighbour had been playing on Vision’s side from the very beginning. At first, Wanda had fallen for her good-natured smile and the complicity she came by on that first meeting, it took Wanda some time to realise that all her secrets and mistakes were being told to her husband by the very woman she thought was her friend.
Soon, Wanda discovered Agatha enjoyed her suffering while also flirting with Vision and making her children's life impossible. The fact that, at the end of everything, Agatha had come forth to be with Vision in such a predicament was not a surprise at all.
“Yes, Agatha is a good pet, I have to admit that much.” Vision said offhandedly, he turned to Wanda and this time around his hand drew circles on her thigh going up and down until he was grinding Wanda's crotch pressing his knuckles harshly.
“But you, my love, have the most exquisite moans and tears I have ever seen in a woman,” he clenched his jaw when Wanda grimaced holding back her disgust but unable to hide it from his eyes.
Wanda let out a groan when he hit her hard on her thigh, he did it again, and again, and again until Wanda almost lost control of the wheel.
“Look where you are going, my love, or the kids will suffer. Now you are going to take your punishment quietly, like a good wife, are you not?”
“No.” The word came out of nowhere, it left her lips with more strength and conviction to what she actually felt at the moment.
Wanda flickered her glance through the rear mirror, Vision was left dumbstruck never before having heard such a tone of voice, or that strength behind his wife. He was so tempted to hurt her, to teach her…but, he leaned back on the seat if the car chuckling darkly.
“Sooner or later, my love, you will bend to my will.” He cocked his head pointing to the road, “for now, drive faster, we are almost there and I'm dying to see my kids.”
Wanda clenched her fist tightly around the wheel, she tried to hold back the tears welling up in her eyes. Her mind was screaming in pain, confusion and terror, she was trying desperately to give of a signal to one of the cars moving past her, she was trying to make faces or make sure anyone could see the state Vision was in. But it was as if the world was deaf and blind, for a moment she let go of her thoughts, and soon enough she thought of you.
The panic that had risen inside her went limp for a moment, the memory of your smile and your words almost made her smile. She held onto these memories, while trying to quiet down her worries. She remembered Vision's words, the story of you laying on the floor in a pool made of your own blood.
And now, she was driving to her home begging and hoping that perhaps America had decided to go to her place with the twins or opted to take them out to someplace.
She could only hope, though.
With a heavy heart, and fear she drove down the highway trying to make sure every camera on the road could take a good picture of her and the wounded Vision sitting by her side.
Time, all she needed was time.
__________
Agatha Harness stood by the window, her fingertips caressing the soft texture of the curtains protecting the intimacy of the house. She smiled, the two cops that had parked in front of Wanda's home had finished the inspection on the property talking through their radios before making their way to the car.
She turned around to see America and Kate tied together on the ground while Tommy and Billy had been frozen on the sofa. The little boys were trembling, each one of them wearing the signs of the struggle they tried to put up when they came across the woman.
The ordeal had been far too easy, nor America or Kate knew of her, and by the time the twins were ready to scream she had put the weapon against the Bishop heir. Now, all she had to do was wait.
“I don't suppose your sister keeps the alcohol in the living room, right?” Agatha put a hand on her cheek, her eyes gleaming mischievously at America who was glaring at her. “Yes, I think a house filled with teenagers would make her think twice about the storage of the alcohol.”
America struggled against the ropes on her hands, she lifted her chin in defiance only to be soothed over by the side glance from Kate and the whimpers from Tommy. Agatha rolled her eyes approaching the young teen, her fingers mapping out the features of the young woman.
“You are quite the beauty, Missy, just like your sister,” Agatha lifted a brow walking towards the closest table that held a picture of you and America, “I can see why Wanda fell for her. I have always suspected Wanda was odd, but never imagined she was into women. Tsk, no wonder she could never please Jarvis.”
The woman strolled around the room taking notice of the different objects adorning the living room, the pictures and the technological gadgets, the expensive furniture and the layout of the house. Without a doubt, you had money, and Agatha could appreciate the sleaziness behind Wanda's actions to get you wrapped around her finger. Too bad this wouldn't last,at least at the end you would be grateful that her and Jarvis would free you from such an arrogant, and quite dangerous individual.
The mobile she brought with her rang three times, her face lit up picking up the gadget from the table before turning to the twins.
“Well, boys, I hope you are ready because daddy just got here!” She exclaimed happily clapping while rushing to the sofa, she tried to put a hand on Tommy's shoulder but Billy slapped it away.
“Nos, Billy, don't be like that,” the woman slapped Billy under the muffled protests of America and Kate, she glared at the boys before grabbing both of them harshly. “You two will behave, you will go out there and greet your dad and then we will be on our way. There is a long trip waiting for us, and your dad has made a great effort to make this perfect for the family.”
America winced under the biting pressure of the ropes on her hands, she felt the slashes on her wrists and the burning pain running up her arm. To her left, Kate was just breathing with her eyes, the only indicator that she was scared. America felt like an idiot, she knew it was her fault the woman had entered the house that this freaking woman had trapped them in and then dragged them to her house so the police couldn't notice they were missing. Many thoughts were crossing her mind, she was thinking about Wanda that was looking so beautiful that day, with hope and happiness at being on a date with you, she thought about you perhaps back at work ignorant of what was happening. America wished she could do something, but her fight against the binds on her wrist had caused a lot of damage and she couldn't risk anything foolish that would endanger Kate, Billy or Tommy.
Agatha fixed herself pushing the twins forward to the door, she put on a big smile while opening the door. America's breath caught in her throat when her eyes fell on the figure of Wanda Maximoff and Edwin Jarvis. Both of them wore the signs of struggle, blood and bruises covering their bodies but whereas Wanda was scared with her green eyes falling on her children then on America; Jarvis was looking enraged.
“Jarvis!! What happened to you?” The other woman ran to her lover, but the man dismissed her pushing her and Wanda away to greet his children.
“Billy, Tommy, my boys,” he opened his arms waiting for the greeting of her children, his expression changing into one of anger when the boys didn't move from the spot, if anything their eyes went wide open sending glances to Wanda.
“Is this the way I teach you to greet me, boys?” Jarvis never lifted his voice, he spoke calmly, softly with a hint of coldness in his voice.
Wanda nodded at the twins, and after a moment of hesitation they came to Jarvis hugging him with trembling hands. Jarvis smirked ruffling their heads harshly making them wince under the pressure.
“That wasn't so hard, was it?”
The man limped inside the house closing the door behind him, he pushed Wanda further into the house before settling his eyes on America and Kate. He raised a brow quite amused at Agatha who smiled back.
“They were in the way.”
“Indeed.” Jarvis sat down on the sofa, his eyes falling on America for a long moment before pointing at Wanda, “now dear come sit here, we need to talk about the future.”
Wanda held back her facial expression, she tried to conceal the disgust she was feeling at the thought of her sitting on Vision's lap. The man path his thigh three times, and Wanda knew she would need to comply or else, this would end up badly. With some reluctance, she stepped forward knowing America and Kate were looking at her shaking their heads while Tommy and Billy cried silently sitting on the chair in front of them.
“Now, dear, we're going to talk about the future and your misdeeds,” the man passed his hand through Wanda's uncovered knee, his eyes gleaming in lust ignoring the open frown from Agatha.
“You see, Mrs. Y/L/N,” he said directing his attention to America, the young woman scowled but said nothing, “I gave everything to my wife, I took her in when no one else loved her, I educated her, dress her, I have her children, a house…and what does she do? She leaves in the middle of the day and takes my children with her. Why? Because she is a bad woman and a bad mother, and she is always defying me and going against my wishes, even though she has been mine since the very first time his father sold her to me.”
Wanda felt her lower lip quivered; the fear she was experimenting soon mixed up with the anger his words were fuelling. The muscles on her arms and shoulders tensed, her fingers twitching trying to form a fist she still didn't dare to throw to the man that had his hand on her thigh. The young woman was trying with all her might to look for a way out, her eyes found those of America and Kate and she regretted the moment she hid the truth from you or rejected the idea of this ever happening. But, what she regretted the most was dragging you and your family into this mess.
Would you still love her if something were to happen to America?
Would you still want Wanda after all of this?
Wanda needed her kids, America and Kate safe, she let her eyes wander around the room before turning to Vision. Nausea raised inside her throat, her heart almost stopping with the shiver of sheer repulsion as she lifted her hand to cup Jarvis face.
The man let her eyes wander back to Wanda, he had not lost his scowl but now there was curiosity in his gestures. He raised a single eyebrow, his lips curling slightly when he spotted the fear and submission in Wanda.
“Are you going to apologize?” He asked Wanda nodded, opening her mouth only to close it again.
The words tangled themselves on her throat, Jarvis snorted lifting his hand only to wrap in around her neck.
“You will have time for that for now I think we need to go.” He grabbed Wanda tightly making her stand up while he did too, letting out a groan of pain.
His face was swelling slowly, while the eye you had hurt was bleeding profusely. Wanda stepped back when he almost fell down, but the man held onto Wanda before straightened up.
“As fun as this has been,” Jarvis turned to America and Kate, “we will leave, I'm sorry about your loss, but surely you understand that when you mess with a taken woman the consequences may be…deathly.”
America opened her eyes, they stinged with unshed tears just as her struggle against the ropes started again. Jarvis smirked when Wanda shook her head, and desperation filled America's face.
“I'm sure you will thank me, once you are able to come upon such a good inheritance.” The man stepped away from Wanda going over to where the twins were sitting, he grasped their clothes pulling them to him harshly making them yelped and Wanda almost went to their rescue. Agatha was right on top of her stopping her before pushing her to the entrance door.
“However, if by any chance, Y/L/N survive then…you may let her know that I make sure to take my wife in body and soul,” Jarvis continued with his rant, “and that the last thing she did before the end was scream my name.”
Kate clenched her jaw trying to hold back her tears, America was still struggling trying to get free to get to her phone. Her mind wrapped around the idea of you being dead or badly wounded without any help.
Jarvis pushed his family to the door, and he was about to close the door when his ears caught the sound of guns getting ready to fire. He turned around only to see five police cars parked on the street cutting off the exit. He snarled, grabbing his own gun and pointing it to Tommy. This time around Wanda did react by hitting Agatha on the face while going to Tommy, she stopped dead in her tracks when Vision pressed the barrel on Tommy's head.
“Are you ready to risk it, dear?”
“Vision, please…take me, just…take me, leave him alone.” Wanda begged, her voice trembling with her eyes wide open.
Tommy started sobbing with Billy gripping his brother wide eyed with tears streaming down his cheeks.
The moment of tension grew amongst them, Vision ready to risk everything to get out of the situation alive. And everything would have ended in tragedy if it wasn't for his phone that started ringing. The man blinked a couple of times confused, he kept the gun pointing to Tommy while also grabbing the phone with a hint of annoyance and curiosity.
His brows got lost on the hairline, with his lips twitching back while the skin around his cheeks tensed. His eyes went quickly to Wanda who was struggling with herself ready to grab her children, Vision huffed, pressing the green button while locking his glance with Wanda.
“I am very surprised to see you survive.” His voice dripped sarcasm, a hint of anger tainting his words.
“I can't say I was left unaffected, but my people were nearby,” you trailed off holding whatever else you wanted to say to the man while fear gripped your heart tightly, “but your failure is not the reason I call you about.”
You winced when Peggy Carter and James Logan glared at you while pointing to the script they had set up for you. The man at the other end of the line chuckled darkly, the scream from Wanda and Tommy almost made you drop the phone.
“I wouldn't call it a failure if you are at the office and I am at your home with them, and your sister.”
You clenched your fists tightly, wincing when the effort tensed the bruises in your body.
“Touché.” You took a deep breath, the words leaving your mouth with a bad taste, “I have a proposal for you.”
This time around Vision was looking extremely interested, he didn't lose sight of the police patrols or the people surrounding the house. He could see everyone waiting for the action while he spoke with you. His eyes soon drifted to Wanda and the kids, before settling in Agatha who had her own weapon tightly grasped on her left hand. He weighed his options, the tension kept growing and he knew any moment now a team of negotiators would arrive to control the situation.
The end of this particular chapter of his life wasn't looking bright, and he hated that he let himself be caught in such a foolish action. He contemplated his options, but your voice soon brought to the table a most suitable deal.
“Kingpin sold you out for a pretty good deal of money you stole from him,” you let out a raspy cough, the pain shooting electric spasm through your body, “you know what will happen, jail would be your grave.”
Vision narrowed his eyes, nodding to Agatha and Wanda to go back inside the house, his hand never wavering while pointing the gun to his son. He frowned, noticing that not since the phone call had anyone done or said anything, no one had dared to even approach him or try to talk him out of the threat. Vision’s mind started working fast through the different possibilities and ways in which he could get out of the situation. Your words had made his blood run cold, a shiver of sheer terror went through him knowing that his previous associate knew of the embezzlement of the money he had done while working for the man.
How did you know him?
Did he really rat Vision out?
“He is a practical man, and I'm a woman of business. Why do you think the police have done nothing to try and take you out and away from my family?”
“Perhaps they are afraid I could keep my promise of putting a bullet in my son's head.” Vision retorted, you sighed in exasperation and the man was really tempted to put the bullet in your forehead.
“You are not an idiot, they won't do anything unless I say so. Money can buy a lot of things, Jarvis.”
Jarvis was starting to feel tired, his head was hurting and his eye was actually killing him. The sight on his right eye was getting blurry and with every minute that passed his body felt heavier and sensitive on his skin.
“And how much does your sister and her girlfriend cost, Y/N?” this time he turned to America who was torn between relief and fear.
“Enough to make an effort and call you back.”
“What about the life of my children and Wanda?”
This time around he could hear the intake of breath on your end, he smirked tilting his head until his eye was mocking Wanda.
“Ah, not that much, I see. Don't worry, I don't blame you, if she did this to me, imagine what she would do to you.”
Wanda was trembling, her arms limped at her sides. She had her eyes on her children, forgetting the tears rolling down her cheeks or the ability to move, her only concern was to get Tommy and Billy out of the situation she was in at the moment. Wanda blinked, turning to Vision wrapping her mind around his words, soon she understood who was behind the line talking to him and her heart almost stopped beating at the relief she felt knowing you were alive. How did they end up in such a mess? How was it possible that Vision had access to you? Or that he had found her and the twins?
So many questions, and Wanda was trying to gather her strength to fight. She could live with the idea of her dying or being taken away by Vision but her children…she had left the man to make sure they could grow in peace. They would have a chance.
Wanda waited with her heart at her throat, and her mind moving through different scenarios while Vision continued talking through the phone.
The room was only filled with the sound of Vision's conversation with you, everyone had their eyes on him waiting. Making time.
Jarvis snarled into the phone, finally giving into his own pain and sitting down. Sweat rolled down his forehead, her hand was trembling while holding the phone against his ear.
“I am a businesswoman, Jarvis, so I have a proposal.”
You took a deep breath; you had rehearsed this speech before but it didn't mean you felt comfortable saying it out loud. Peggy nodded curtly at you; Logan was talking on the other line while Fury was snarling orders to two different teams right outside the van you were in. You waited to hear the laboured breath of the man at the other end of the line, your mind going to your sister, to Wanda, to Kate and the twins. You should have been stronger, you should have hit first and ask questions later, you should have…
A hand placed softly on your shoulder; Tony offered a single smile shaking his head. Your lower lip quivered but the man shook his head placing a hand on his chest before pointing a finger at you. You nodded, turning to face Peggy once more.
“I have resources, I have money…more than you can even imagine.”
“I can imagine a lot.” The man stated before adding, “but right now I am imagining my freedom, and my life…with my family, of course.”
“You don't need the kids, but you need Wanda and Agatha.” You made a face, scrunching up your nose paled and nauseous, “they can be bred and I can get you someone suitable for your tastes.”
Jarvis chuckled darkly, he glanced at Wanda putting his phone out of his ear and putting the conversation on speaker.
“Are you really telling me to leave my children and breed my wife again?” Jarvis smirked when Wanda's expression faltered at those words, “how fast is the affection you held for her.”
“Again, I deal with business, not so much emotions. I needed a good time, and Wanda offered that.” You closed your eyes before continuing, “I have a jet ready, a country without extradition and the means to make you rich, give you a new life and stop Kingpin from torturing you after you decided to steal from him.”
Wanda couldn't help but lowered her eyes at your words, she was confused but she also knew there was something else behind what you were saying. She had to hope, she had to wait. Jarvis shifted on the sofa, for the very first time since this whole mess started he finally took into consideration the woman that had come to him into this mess. Agatha approached him tentatively, her hand brushing his hair away from his face.
“Do you think it is true? Do you think she is offering a good deal?” The woman was not so sure, she had seen you beside Wanda and the twins, you looked pretty much in love with Wanda and this was a little fishy for her, but so far she had let Vision's lead the way and was not about to contradict him.
Jarvis tilted his head glancing with his good eye to the woman, he grabbed her by the hair crashing his lips to hers.
“What is the catch?” Jarvis finally asked and you chuckled.
“Let my sister and Kate Bishop go with the twins, the police are not going to stop you once you leave the house with Wanda and the other woman.” You stated flatly, your eyes burning with rage, “I will be your bargaining chip, they won't dare to hurt me or intervene in any way, and you will have access to my power, my money.”
Everyone in the room went silent, America opened her eyes shaking her head in disbelief with Kate frowning. Wanda felt dizzy, her heart dripping to her feet while she tried to wrap her mind around what you just said. Jarvis weighed his options, his good eye flickered to the kids and the teens, undoubtedly they would be too much dead weight to carry around while trying to get away from the police. Wanda was the easiest option, she and Agatha would obey Jarvis's instructions if necessary while also a great source of amusement for him. Besides, you were offering something equally interesting: yourself.
Could this be a trap? Yes, of course, but Jarvis bet he could play his cards carefully and get away with it. He could get freedom, money, and a new life.
“You have yourself a deal, Y/N but I will put the conditions to ensure I'm not double crossed.”
“Very well, tell me what conditions do you have?”

No one was speaking, your hand held the kevlar best with your eyes examining the article closely. Fury and Tony waited patiently for you, pursed on your lips telling the two men you were not convinced about using this for the mission. The bulletproof vest was body contoured built to adjust to your torso to offer the best protection, it was a near-fit of military engineering.
Still, you were not convinced.
Jarvis could notice the article, and everything they had been working for could fall down in a second. Besides, Wanda's life depended on you doing your job well.
“I won't do it, Wanda's life is still on the line.” You fault out refused the item putting on your jacket, your eyes glancing from Tony to Fury.
“Y/N, this is a dangerous mission and you're a civilian, you're being sent because…” Fury started for the tenth time, you lifted a single hand shutting him immediately, much to his surprise.
“You got me and my family in this mess while keeping the identity of this maniac a secret.” There was a heavy huff behind your words, your stare hardening as you continued, “don't try to patronise me with this, you messed up and you need me, so I'll do this part my way.”
Fury rolled his sole eye ready to fight when Peggy Carter entered the trailer, her sharp eyes pinning you to the spot.
*Everything is ready, are you sure you don't want the protection?” She asked curtly, you shook your head and after a second of hesitation Peggy nodded.
“Your car is right outside, you have your phone and the tracker and the teams are getting ready.” The older woman hesitated before stepping closer to you, “your sister is doing okay, she is being looked after by Hope and Natasha, the twin and Ms. Bishop is doing fine though a little scared.”
“Thank you for the update.”
“You know the plan?”
You nodded curtly; the older woman smirked her eyes twinkling smartly at you.
“Then, let's move it.”
Jarvis had chosen an abandoned military station in the midst of a forgotten highway. The place had hosted the secret service working against the Nazis back in the 30’s, night was already there the lights of the cars had disappeared almost forty minutes ago while the radio finally gave in to the lack of signal. You drove fast, as fast as the speed limit and your car allowed it, your heart had not stopped beating with a constant thud with your mind going over and over through the plan that you had been subjected to by the authorities.
New year was closed now.
And Camp David was just around the corner.
The place looked empty, the gates had been opened recently and you could see a car parked in the distance the lights still on. Your body trembled with anticipation, the pain of your wounds pulsating through your senses keeping you awake while the night engulfed the place in a dark, and sinister silence. The car came to a stop with the lights falling upon the form of Edwin ‘Vision’ Jarvis, who was wearing the signs of the fight you two engaged in hours ago. Tension is quite obvious, the fact the man trusted you enough to come here without any questions was enough to tell you he was desperate. As much as you were.
The door of the car closed with a dry thump; your eyes shifted to Wanda who was sitting by the passenger’s seat trying to hold onto the tears while Agatha had a gun to her head. Vision smirked when he realized you kept your word of coming alone, of giving into his demands and getting him closer to the escape he needed to have his freedom filled with money and pleasure.
“You kept your word.”
“I am a woman of my word, Jarvis.” You replied limping towards the man, his smile grew nastier noticing the pain and the effort it took you to make your way towards him.
“So it seems.” Jarvis nodded to the car, and in that moment your eyes crossed for the very first time with those of Wanda. Something inside you stirred with violence, you wished you could go to her and comfort her, to tell her the children were fine and that everything would be fine.
But you couldn’t, and what you did was to drift your stare to go back to Jarvis.
“Very well then let’s get this over with, you and I need medical attention and I already have someone in mind.”
Without any warning he lifted his hand wrapping it around your neck and squeezing hard, “I think you are in no position to order me around.”
You lifted your chin holding onto his eyes, he made sure that his hand never left your throat until your face turned into a nasty red colour and your eyes filled with tears. He kept his grip on you, growling while putting his face closer to yours.
“Jarvis, please!” Your heart fluttered tenderly when your heard Wanda speaking, and you couldn’t help the curve on your lips when the man let go of you.
You took a deep breath massaging your neck, your eyes gleaming with anger and defiance, an expression Vision would have a pleasure to take off of you as soon as you kept your part of the bargain.
“I hope you know that if you double cross me or if you try something against me nor Agatha, Wanda will end up with a bullet in her head.”
You clenched your jaw tightly, nodding curtly while nodding towards the car. Jarvis snorted pushing you hard against the car opening the driver’s door.
“Come on, time is of essence right now.”
The car smell like blood and sweat, your eyes found those of Wanda and for a brief moment you could see the doubt in her green eyes, you could sense her fears and the uncertainty of the whole situation. Agatha huffed hitting Wanda with the gun, she then turned to you making a face of pure disgust.
The car was put into motion, you glanced out of the window while giving the directions to the closest private airport. Without a doubt, Jarvis knew his way around the seclude parts in the country, and while he didn’t fancy to have anyone know where he was about to go, it was quite obvious for him he needed you and this place to get away from the authorities. He didn’t trust you that much, if the police had arrived at your home he knew they would be looking for you and him after the scene at your place.
Jarvis drove fast, erratically showing the signs of exhaustion and pain that had been consuming him all through the afternoon. You could see him losing the battle against his wounds and the state he was in, just as you could notice the craziness consuming the woman sitting beside you with the gun tightly pressed against Wanda’s head. The silence in the car was only interrupted by Jarvis ragged breathing, and the engine of the car.
Soon, and after more than an hour of driving you saw the gates leading to the private airport. The place was empty, the guard that was supposed to be watching over the gates was absent though the security hut held onto white light flickering from time to time. Jarvis stopped the car holding onto his grunts before turning his eyes to you.
“Well?”
You frowned leaning forward, your head turned left and right shrugging.
“The guard is not supposed to leave his post.” You commented softly, a sigh left your lips with your eyes flickering to Wanda, “I can try and see…”
“No, Agatha, give me the gun go and see who is in there and open the gate.”
Agatha hesitated before giving in and handing the gun to Jarvis, the man enjoyed the control he had over the women in the car. Not only did Wanda obey without protesting and was now as she had always been, quiet and submissive, but Agatha was ready to comply with all he needed and wanted and you…well, you were smart, you did nothing to jeopardy your security and that of Wanda, with time Jarvis would make sure to correct your sexual deviation while submitting you to him.
The place looked empty, though Jarvis could see the workers of the night shift filling out the hangars, small cars moving in and out before settling for the night. Everything looked quite normal, a night in a private airport in which charter planes waited for a new trip, you shifted in the back seat glancing around the place while directing Jarvis to the last entrance.
“When is the plane schedule to leave?” Jarvis asked glancing back at you through the rearview mirror, you furrowed your brows putting your phone from your pocket before handling it over to the man.
“Five minutes to midnight.”
“Why? Why so late?” Agatha asked with tension dripping from her voice.
Jarvis quirked a brow, he too was quite interested in the answer to such a question. He had never known of a plane to take off at such an hour, his eyes went back to the road taking close attention to everything and everyone making sure no one would dare to stop them.
“We need to justify the flight, I told the pilot I was needed it in Paris for a meeting.” You replied shrugging, “I told him I didn’t want to wait so he got the permissions and that’s the latest we could get.”
“Permission? I thought that you could fly whenever you want.” Agatha furrowed her brows, but it was Jarvis the one who laughed shaking his head.
“Don’t be an idiot, we need to ask for permission to take off, it’s not like grabbing a car or anything like that…” Jarvis then shrugged, “I did think it would be faster…”
You huffed rolling your eyes, “no, flying it is far more complicated than driving.”
“Very well, do we go in or stay outside?” Jarvis was approaching the last Hangar, he lifted his eyes to you.
“Let’s get in.”
The place was lit up by the white and yellowish lights of lamps hanging from the ceiling; the gate was completely open with the nose of the plane pointing to the runaway ready for the trip. Jarvis exited the car walking around to stretch his hand to Wanda, the young woman hesitated enough for him to lean in and gripped her forearm tightly. You tried to step closer but Agatha stood by your side pressing painfully the barrel of the gun on your ribs.
The place was alone, but the plane had the cabin door open with the stairs down waiting to be boarded.
“Look at the efficiency of your lover, dear.” Jarvis whispered in Wanda’s ear, “soon, you will know pain, and I won’t let you die until I have taken new children off of you. Until you are begging me to end your life.”
Wanda shivered clenching her jaw while keeping her eyes ahead of her, you shifted letting your eyes wandered around before settling on Jarvis. Out of the corner of your eye you saw movement in the cockpit, Agatha narrowed her eyes shifting uneasily at the silence in the room.
You worked hard on what you were supposed to do, Jarvis needed to go inside the cabin with Agatha but Wanda was a problem. You saw movement inside the plane once more, and you could feel eyes on you.
“We can wait inside the plane,” you suddenly offered, your voice trembling while you grabbed the phone, “I can call the pilot asking where he is.”
Jarvis frowned turning to you, “why is he not here?”
“I don’t know? Maybe you can ask him when he comes,” you replied harshly earning yourself a hard hit from the gun Agatha was holding, you were seeing stars while trying to hold onto your consciousness.
“I would hold back my tongue if I were you, Agatha doesn’t appreciate rudeness, much less if it is directed against me.” Jarvis commented approaching you, he snatched the phone off of your hands narrowing his eyes he tried to see that your communications were being done with the pilot.
He read the messages, his hand clenching into the mobile when he caught sight of those messages you had exchanged with Wanda.
“Very well, I think I need a drink, I hope you have a good whiskey inside.”
You scowled lifting your chin, “I do.”
Your heart was beating really hard, so far you had only seen one gun and it was the one that Agatha had been flashing all night threatening Wanda and then you. Your eyes drifted quickly to the cockpit and then to the back office in the Hangar. Your muscles tensed in anticipation, counting in your mind so as to distracted yourself from the growing anxiety inside your chest.
You followed Jarvis who pushed Wanda ahead of him, then he went behind her and Agatha staggered behind you. From the moment she arrived to the airport, Agatha had felt uneasy; there was just something so…strange about this. It was so easy, without any unwanted encounters.
Silence filled the place, you took a deep breath.
You trusted Fury and Peggy and all the forces that had filled out your building were capable of doing what they said they would without harming anyone. Your eyes flickered again to the cockpit window, this time around you could see the reflection of someone wearing military gear inside, then the swift movement in the back office and you knew you would need to get to Wanda before Jarvis could do something.
Behind you, and totally forgotten, was Agatha.
The woman that had obsessed over Jarvis, ready to do his biding as long as she got to enjoy a piece pf affection from him. She grabbed the gun, her eyes going big as saucers when they caught sight of someone inside the plane.
Everything happened in a second.
Wanda and Jarvis crossed the threshold of the plane’s gate, with you almost putting a foot on the stairs when the woman shrieked for Jarvis to come down. She grabbed you by your hair pulling hard, while Jarvis having heard and understood the meaning behind such a scream grabbed Wanda by her neck punching her several times on the ribs and abdomen making sure his grip on her was tight almost to the point of choking.
“GO! GO! GO!”
You grunted struggling against the older woman, your elbow finding her abdomen hitting her hard until she had to let go of your hair. You heard more than saw the screams and heavy footsteps moving towards you, you turned around hearing Wanda’s gasp and tiny scream for help.
“NOO!”
Agatha screamed and then, you stood there…
You didn’t even register the sound of the gun.
But you felt the bite from the bullet, the burning pain running through your body. And then, you knew no more.

The ride is quiet until Steve, who was shocked into silence until this moment, says “It was him.”
You look at him on your right but his gaze is to the floor. “He looked right at me like he didn’t even know me.”
“How's that even possible?” Sam says from in front of Steve. “It was, like, seventy years ago.”
“Zola.” Steve answers without skipping a beat. “Bucky's whole unit was captured in '43. Zola experimented on him. Whatever he did helped Bucky survive the fall. They must have found him and…” he trails off, looking up at Sam.
“None of that's your fault, Steve.” Natasha says and you turn your attention on her.
“Even when I had nothing, I had Bucky.” You're too busy looking at Natasha’s palling face to be sad for Steve.
“We need to get a doctor here.” You say, your eyes landing on the blood on her shoulder, which apparently Sam noticed too.
“We don't put pressure on that wound,” he says, turning to the agent next to him “she's gonna bleed out here in the truck.”
The guard pulls out an electric rod and looks like he's gonna use it on Sam but, suddenly, he pokes the other guard with it.
You're all so fucking confused until the guard takes out his helmet to reveal a groaning Maria Hill.
“That thing was squeezing my brain.” she looks at all of you while you let out a breath of relief, but she lands on Sam and then looks back at Steve, pointing at him. “Who’s this guy?”
“Long story” you say and, when she narrows her eyes at you, you roll your own. “I’m handcuffed too, I’m obviously on your side.” you say while raising your cuffed hands and raising an eyebrow.
She softens but relented only after receiving a nod from Steve, confirming what you're saying.
She helps you escape and soon you're entering a seemingly abandoned facility, Natasha leaning on you for balance.
A man you recognize as one of the doctors that were operating on Fury runs towards you and you frown.
What the hell’s going on?
“GSW. She’s lost at least a pint.” Hill says to the doctor.
“Maybe two.” Sam adds.
“Let me take her.” the doctor says, but Maria stops him.
“She’ll want to see him first.” she says while she leads the way, the doctor helping you carry Natasha.
Hill takes you to a room where you’re all shocked to find Fury lying in a bed, alive.
“About damn time.” he says and you almost cry after hearing his voice.
You all sit down and, as the doctor starts to work on Natasha’s wound next to you, you all listen intently as Fury explains what’s going on.
“Lacerated spinal column,” he ends by listing his injuries “cracked sternum, shattered collarbone, perforated liver, one hell of a headache.”
“Don't forget your collapsed lung.” the doctor says from Nat’s other side.
“Oh, let's not forget that.” Fury says sarcastically “Otherwise, I'm good.”
“They cut you open,” Natasha says, you knew she took it hard after all. “your heart stopped.”
“Tetrodotoxin B.” He says like it was obvious. “Slows the pulse to one beat a minute. Banner developed it for stress. Didn't work so great for him, but we found a use for it.”
Why all the secrecy?” Steve voices what you're all thinking.
“Yeah.” you add, obviously hurt. “Why not just tell us?”
“Any attempt on the director's life had to look successful.” Hill answers for him.
“Can't kill you if you're already dead.” Fury seems amused with himself, then gets more serious. “Besides, I wasn't sure who to trust.”
You try not to take that too personally and, glancing at Natasha, you can tell when she meets your eyes that she's trying to do the same.
-
Fury gives you guys some time to process everything before you move to a room with a table to start strategizing on how to move forward.
“This man declined the Nobel Peace Prize.” Fury says while looking at a picture of a young Pierce. “He said, Peace wasn't an achievement, it was a responsibility. See, it's stuff like this that gives me trust issues.” He finishes looking at you guys.
“We have to stop the launch.” Natasha says, ignoring Fury’s last remark.
“I don't think the Council's accepting my calls anymore.” He says while opening a case containing three chips.
“What's that?” you and Sam ask at the same time, glancing at each other.
“Once the Helicarriers reach three thousand feet,” Hill says, turning her computer around and showing you “they'll triangulate with Insight satellites becoming fully weaponized.”
“We need to breach those carriers and replace their targeting blades with our own.” Fury cuts in.
“One or two won't cut it. We need to link all three carriers for this to work, because if even one of those ships remains operational” she hesitates for a moment “a whole lot of people are gonna die.”
“We have to assume everyone aboard those carriers is HYDRA. We need to get past them, insert the server blades, and maybe, just maybe, we can salvage what's left-” Fury gets cut off by Steve.
“We're not salvaging anything.” he says sharply. “We're not just taking down the carriers, Nick. We're taking down SHIELD.”
“SHIELD had nothing to do with it.” Fury says defensively.
“You gave me this mission, this is how it ends.” Steve has his Captain voice on and you know there's no room for discussion. “SHIELD's been compromised, you said so yourself. HYDRA grew right under your nose and nobody noticed.”
“Why do you think we're meeting in this cave? I noticed.” Nobody else says anything, just watching back and forth from Fury to Steve.
“And how many paid the price before you did?”
“Look, I didn't know about Barnes.” Fury says after a moment.
“Even if you had, would you have told me? Or would you have compartmentalized that, too?” He's almost glaring now. “SHIELD, HYDRA, it all goes.”
“He's right.” Hill simply says, nodding.
Fury looks at Natasha, but she simply stares back and he knows he’s not gonna have any help from her, so he turns to you.
“You’re okay with this, Agent?” he asks you and you don’t even have to think twice about it.
“We took an oath to protect people, Fury.” you tell him, holding his gaze. “If taking down Shield does that, and I believe it does, I’m game.” you shrug.
He then turns to the last person in the room.
“Don't look at me.” Sam says, also shrugging. “I do what he does, just slower.”
You grin at him while Fury scoffs a little.
“Well,” He starts, sitting back and sighting, looking at all of you before staring back at Steve. “It looks like you're giving the orders now, Captain.”
After you make our plan, Steve goes outside for some air. You and Sam watch him leave, then look at each other, a silent question hanging between you two.
“You go.” you tell him and he nods before following after the supersoldier.
When you turn around you’re met with Fury and Hill’s curious looks and Natasha’s smirking face.
“What?” you say annoyed, crossing your arms defensively in front of you.
“You and Wilson, huh.”
“Get your mind out of the gutter, Romanoff.” you tell her as you sit back down. “He’s a nice person, you know as well as I do how rare it is to find that in our line of work.” your gaze shifts to the table but you can still feel their gazes on you.
“You couldn’t have known, YN.” Fury says, seemingly reading your mind. Your eyes snap up to his, he's never called you by your first name.
“I should’ve, Nick.” you exchange the favor. “All the closed meetings, all the shady attitudes… I should’ve seen it. I’m trained to see it.” you're frustrated with yourself, with all the adrenaline out of your body now you’re left only with guilt.
Surely if you’d have seen it sooner you could’ve done something. Maybe the outcome would’ve been different.
“They tricked all of us.” Nat says, glancing at Fury and resting her hand on your shoulder.
“You’re a good agent,” Hill interjects, “don’t doubt yourself because of those traitors.”
“You’re right.” You nodded after a moment, putting your hand on top of Nat’s on your shoulder and looking back at Fury. “You’re all right.”
As you finish the details of the plan, only one thing is missing.
“How do we get the Director there?” Hill asks after Sam joins you, informing you that Steve went looking for a uniform, whatever that means, and would meet you there.
“Uh, I have an idea.” you says, leaning back in your chair and smirking.
They all suit up and leave after making sure your comms work.
“Be careful.” you hug Natasha before they leave “All of you.” you add looking over her shoulder at Hill that nods and Sam that grins and then winks at you.
You go back to the room where Fury is and he asks, “So where’s our ride?”
“On its way.” you simply say, checking your phone.
You can hear the others through the comms as they meet up with Steve, his own voice coming to your ear as he puts his own earpiece in.
“Where’s Y/N?” he questions the team.
“Awe, you miss me already, Cap?” you say and can hear the other’s laughter.
“You wish.” you can practically hear his eyes rolling.
“I do wish.” you answer, laughing. “I’m with Fury, don’t worry we’ll be there in time.”
You’re both suited up too when you hear loud noises coming from outside, Fury gives you a confused look but you just smile and wiggle your eyebrows playfully as you lead the way to the roof.
A helicopter lands and the pilot gets out and makes his way towards you, shaking your hand before heading downstairs where a car is waiting for him. You make your way to the pilot’s seat and Fury takes the co-pilot’s seat.
“Where did you even get this?” He questions you after putting on the headphones while you start the helicopter, ready for take off.
“You’re not the only one with connections, Director.” you answer, glancing at him with a smile and can hear him laugh next to you.
The whole time you can hear the team’s conversation, everything’s going according to plan thankfully, and nobody’s gotten hurt yet.
Just as you hear Natasha say “don’t worry, company’s coming” to who you assume is Pierce you land the helicopter on the landing pad.
You and Fury make your way inside and Pierce is nothing short of surprised at seeing Fury alive, much to your delight.
“Did you get my flowers?” he says sarcastically and, when Fury only glares at him, he turns his attention to you. “Agent.”
“Asshole.” you greet him with a smile.
“I'm glad you're here, Nick.” he turns his attention back to him.
“Really? Cause I thought you had me killed.”
“You know how the game works.” Pierce says, as calm as a sociopath.
“So why make me head of SHIELD?” Fury has to know.
“Cause you were the best and the most ruthless person I ever met.”
“I did what I did to protect people.”
“Our enemies are your enemies, Nick. Disorder, war. It's just a matter of time before a dirty bomb goes off in Moscow, or an EMP fries Chicago. Diplomacy? Holding action, a band-aid. And you know where I learned that?” He doesn’t give him time to answer, clearly enjoying his evil mastermind speech. “Bogota. You didn't ask, you just did what had to be done. I can bring order to the lives of seven billion people by sacrificing twenty million. It's the next step, Nick, if you have the courage to take it.”
“No,” Fury says, taking Pierce to the retinal scanner, guns on him from both Nat and you “I have the courage not to.”
“Retinal scanner active.” the computer says.
“You don't think we wiped your clearance from the system?” Pierce says smugly.
“I know you erased my password, probably deleted my retinal scan, but if you want to stay ahead of me, Mr. Secretary,” he takes off his eyepatch to reveal his scarred eye and you grimace. “you need to keep both eyes open.”
They both look into the retinal scanner, with Fury using his injured eye.
“Alpha Level confirmed.” The computer says “Encryption code accepted. Safeguards removed.”
You can hear Steve and Sam talking in your ear as you hold Pierce at gunpoint while Nat finishes uploading the files online.
Sam saying to Steve that he’s heavier than he looks makes you smile, Steve answering “I had a big breakfast” makes you almost snort because Sam made him that breakfast, but you stay professional.
You hear Sam apologizing to Steve after being grounded, his suit broken, and then Maria telling Sam that Rumow’s heading your way. Sam says he’s on it and then you hear Steve trying to plead with Bucky before he starts fighting him.
“Done.” Natasha finally says “And it's trending.”
Just then Pierce sets off the pins he gave the council members, causing it to burn a hole into them. You, Natasha and Fury point your guns at Pierce but he turns to Natasha.
“Unless you want a two inch hole in your sternum, I'd put that gun down.” Natasha doesn't back down though “That was armed the moment you pinned it on.”
You all reluctantly lower your weapons.
You can hear Sam saying “Man, shut the hell up” and frown, then you hear him fighting probably with Rumlow and you sincerely hope Sam lands some good punches.
“Lieutenant, how much longer?” Pierce asks into his radio.
“Sixty-five seconds to satellite link. Targeting grid engaged. Lowering weapons array now.” you hear the response.
You hear Hill counting down too. “Thirty seconds, Cap!”
you can hear Steve get out a strangled “Stand by.”
You hear him struggle, then he says “Charlie-” but gets interrupted by a gunshot and you hold your breath, already imagining the worst and barely hearing Pierce talking into his radio.
Just as they’re about to give the order to fire you hear Steve again saying “Charlie locked.” and you feel like all three of you let out a breath of relief at the same time. Although your relief is short lived as you hear Steve telling Maria to fire.
You all look outside as the Helicarriers start going down.
“What a waste.” Pierce says, disgusted at the sight in front of him.
“Are you still on the fence about Rogers' chances?” Nat says as smugly as she can with an active weapon pinned to her chest, but Pierce is having none of it.
“Time to go, Councilwoman.” he grabs her arm “This way, come on. You're gonna fly me out of here.”
“You know, there was a time I would have taken a bullet for you.” Fury tells him as they start to leave.
“You already did.” Pierce glances back at him “You will again when it's useful.” before he can even finish the sentence Natasha activates a small disc that emits an electric shock through her whole body and disables the pin, giving you a chance to kick the phone out of Pierce’s hand while it reboots.
Fury takes this time to pick up a gun and shoots twice at Pierce, then walks over to you as you kneel next to Natasha who’s unconscious on the floor.
“Romanoff!” he says “Natasha!”
“Tasha, come on!” you say desperately.
She slowly opens her eyes. “Ow.” she lets out, before looking up at you two. “Those really do sting.”
You let out a breathless laugh and help her up, glancing back at Pierce dying behind you, a quiet ‘Hail HYDRA’ coming out of his mouth.
You help Natasha into the helicopter, before taking the pilot’s seat again, Fury next to you.
“Please, tell me you got that chopper in the air!” you hear Sam say.
“Sam, where are you?” Natasha asks him as you try to look around for him.
“41st floor, north-west corner!” he sounds like he’s out of breath.
“We're on it, stay where you are.” You say, making your way to him.
“Not an option!” You can hear him pant like he’s running and as you look up you see him jumping out a window, so you tilt the helicopter just enough to allow him to slide in through the door sideways, and then you straighten just as fast, getting out of there just in time as the whole building comes down.
“41st floor! 41st!” Sam yells once he’s caught his breath.
“It's not like they put the floor numbers on the outside of the building!” You yell back at him while glancing behind you as he glares at you.
“Hill, where's Steve?” Natasha says in the comms “You got a location on Rogers?”
You fly around the wreckage, all of you trying to locate Steve although it feels almost impossible with all the damage left by the Helicarriers.
How can you find him? How could he even be alive after not only that fall, but all of the pieces still falling from the sky? He could’ve been knocked out, he could be at the bottom of the Pontomac, slowly drowning-
“There!” Sam interrupts your pessimistic thoughts as he yells and points at a figure along the shore of the river. “That’s him!”
You land as close as him as you can, running out with Sam beside you, Nat and Fury a little behind. As you get close you see that it is indeed Steve, kudos to Sam for his falcon eyes.
The more you get close the more you worry, he looks bloody and beaten. When you’re finally kneeling next to him, you’re praying that he’s alive.
Sam’s hand flies to his neck and you can tell he lets out a relieved sigh, before turning to you. “He’s got a pulse.” he says and you mirror his action.
You pick him up together and take him to the helicopter, placing him inside while Nat takes the pilot’s seat this time and goes straight to the hospital.

With Steve being in the hospital and Fury being technically dead, the joy of being summoned at a committee hearing falls on you and Natasha. After being sworn in, the Committee General asks the first question.
“Why haven't we yet heard from Captain Rogers?” You and Natasha look at each other and she answers.
“We don't know what there is left for him to say. I think the wreck in the middle of the Potomac made his point fairly eloquently.”
“Well, he could explain how this country's expected to maintain its national security now that he, and you, have laid waste to our intelligence apparatus.”
“HYDRA was selling you lies, not intelligence.” you interject.
“Many of which you both seem to have had a personal hand in telling.” you hate to admit it but he’s got you there.
“Agents, you should know that there are some on this committee who feel, given your service record, both for this country” Scudder then looks directly at Nat “and against it, that you belong in a penitentiary, not mouthing off on Capitol Hill.” he says and it takes everything in you not to snap at him as you clench your jaw.
Natasha can see it in your face as you look at each other, so she goes ahead and talks first.
“You're not gonna put me in a prison.” her eyes are still on you “You're not gonna put any of us in a prison. You know why?” You know she's asking you to finish her sentence.
“Do enlighten us.”
“Because you need us.” you say without missing a beat, looking away from Natasha and directly into the man’s eyes. “Yes, the world is a vulnerable place, and yes, we help make it that way. But we're also the ones best qualified to defend it.”
“So if you want to arrest us, arrest us.” Nat says after a pause.
“You'll know where to find us.” you finish.
You both get up and walk out, exchanging a small smile that's quickly hidden for the benefit of the cameras.
-
A few hours later you and Natasha get to the cemetery just as Fury’s walking away, smirking at each other when you catch the end of his sentence.
“You should be honored, gentlemen.” you say as you get closer.
“That's about as close as he gets to saying thank you.” Natasha finishes for you.
“Not going with him?” Steve asks you as he meets you halfway.
“No.” you both say at the same time.
“Not staying here?” only Natasha answers this time.
“Nah. I blew all my covers,” she glances at you “I gotta go figure out a new one.”
“That might take a while.” he points out.
“I'm counting on it.” She smiles. “That thing you asked for, I called in a few favors from Kiev.” She hands Steve a file. “Will you do me a favor? Call that nurse.”
“She's not a nurse.”
“And you're not a SHIELD agent.” you say and he smiles.
“What was her name again?” he asks.
“Sharon.” Natasha says and you add. “She's nice.”
Natasha kisses Steve on the cheek, hugs you and when she turns to walk away, he looks at you.
“Your face looks better.” you notice. “Well, as good as it can look, considering...” you trail off vaguely motioning to his face with a fake disgusted look and he laughs.
“Yeah, the serum can only do so much.” you laugh too, but then you hear Natasha and you both turn to her.
“Be careful, Steve.” she tells to him “You might not want to pull on that thread.”
And with that, she’s gone.
“You’re not going with Nat?” he asks you as you turn back to him.
“I figured you might need a hand.” you nod to the file in his hand and Steve opens it as Sam walks up to you guys while you steal a glance yourself at the photo of Sergeant Barnes in it.
“You're going after him.” Sam says and it's not a question, it's a statement.
“You don't have to come with me.” He says, his eyes on the file.
“I know.” Sam says, after a moment of silence you finally look away from the photo of 40s Bucky and you see both men looking at you expectantly.
“Chasing a 96 year old brainwashed assassin?” you says, a smile starting to grow on your face “Sounds fun.” you state and Steve nods.
“Really?” Sam deadpans. “What are your weekends like, YLN?”
You only smirk at him in response, then you both turn your attention back to Steve, his eyes back on the file.
“So,” Sam says, “when do we start?”

All of the great Maria Hill moments in Secret Invasion
Tumblr media
this bestie hug scene
Tumblr media
this scene where she realizes her demise is imminent because she just saw agent ross die turn into a skrull in front of her and knows she’s gonna be a goner no matter what but also the hair.
Tumblr media
this scene where she gets to explain the plot of the episode to the audience so we understand what is going on and why we should care while rocking this v-neck and gay stud earrings.
Tumblr media
additional v-neck appreciation
Tumblr media
this scene where she grabbed her arm and rocked the v-neck again and also has A+ hair.
Tumblr media
this scene where we got a great shot of this hair again
Tumblr media
this scene where she ate one piece of barely popped popcorn, confirming to us that she is a human and not a robot i guess also Nick lmao you can’t make popcorn just for yourself dude. also i just noticed that this is an extension of Maria’s red/white & blue color scheme here!
Tumblr media
this quick shot where she is smiling at Nick getting out of the SUV aka her house I assume since she is basically always getting in or out of SUVS???
Tumblr media
this scene where she gets to leave her SUV house because she noticed a short person and was immediately like a short person in a tv show? that’s SUS!
Tumblr media
this scene where she walked outside, i loved this, she looks great outside walking, i would love more scenes where Maria walks outside alive.
Tumblr media
this shot where her hair was fucking perfect
Tumblr media
this last moment of perfect hair before G’iah fucking wrecks it
Tumblr media
this moment when she was like, how dare you be a short person, you better not mess up my hair in this poorly lit tunnel we are about to have a hairography fight in!!!
Tumblr media
this moment where she legit held her own for a moment in a poorly lit tunnel that was not that way just to hide stunt doubles against G’iah in this hairography fight... (Also apparently, just being a skrull G’iah has super strength so it’s amazing that Maria Hill didn’t die in this encounter, also why wouldn’t G’iah just kill her, she’s about to be fine with killing 2000 people in a bombing?) NGL I made fun of this scene a lot the camera work is horrible and it’s so awkward and it makes no sense.
Tumblr media
this scene where she sat the gayest way possible in A RUSSIAN DIVE BAR
Tumblr media
then this scene where she changed to her only other article of clothing, a second gray hoodie like a mom in a 2012 yogurt commercial.
Tumblr media
and finally, when Nick brought back those infrared glasses from space that he just happened to have like he knew they were gonna need them ahead of time and then acting like they are essential for some reason to this very dumb and terrible plan. But NGL they did look gay and cute as hell.
I refuse to look at any screen caps further into Operation Glasses
(( Also, I was just thinking about how even if she did survive being shot that dirty bomb radiation would have gotten her, right? Also, why did the dirty bombs not affect real Fury? Surprise another plot hole. ))

KINKTOBER 23
Father Bryce x reader "Maria"
Day 4
Tumblr media
Me and my friends were in trouble for skipping biology class. We all had to go into Father Bryce's office, one by one and I was last.
"Meet us when you get out in our dorms." My friend "olivia" told me.
I hated Father Bryce and I had my reasons for it. I was a regular student of his who got in trouble. Almost every week I would be in his office.
I walked into his office and sat on the left chair that faces his desk after closing the door.
"Maria...my least favourite trouble maker. Did you prompt this upon your friends?" He said as he was leaning down with his face a few inches from mine and his hands on the table for support.
I just nodded.
"Speak to me. Now." He said sternly. I'm probably the #1 person who he sees in his office...should I get a reward for that? I haven't yet, so probably not.
"Yeah, sir." I said quietly.
"Sir? Sir!? SIR!?"
"Ma'am, actually." I said, trying to be a smart ass.
"Don't try and be a smart ass with me or I will put you in a whole world of hurt." He said coldly.
I stood up and looked in his eyes, having the same fury building up inside of me like he has every time he has to deal with me and said "then why don't 'cha, huh!?" I said sternly.
He stood still, locking eyes with me a moment before pushing my face on his desk and then standing behind me with his muscular frame towering over my ass. He lifted my skirt up and caressed my ass, making you whimper for him.
"You wanna play? Let's fucking play." He said and then rubbed his hard member in his pants on my body, groaning with each buck his hips made.
He then pulled down my wet snd horny panties, stroking his entrance into me and then taking his cock out and fucking me roughly without a condom, and mercy.
"You're such a slut for me, aren't you? You wanna be fucked by your god damn priest all the time for your satisfaction, don't'cha!? Huh!? You fucking don't like it now, do ya!?" He said things like this to me as if i was a bad dog and he just gets his satisfaction by fucking me until I was gone.
His balls slapped on my pussy lips and his cock, our bodied made wet, slapping noises and loud groans and whimpers that showed how much we needed eachother. Our bodies were hot and horny from what was happening and I realised how much he wanted this. He needed this. I couldn't belive I was doing this with my own priest. Its like if I were in a fever dream.
His cock became more hard and he was fucking me roughly and then I needed more from him, I needed to have what he wanted from me, his child. His cock felt like it was going to explode and then he finally did it. My priest and head teacher cummed inside of me.
He took his cock out and then pulled my panties and skirt up and gave me a few kisses on my neck.
"Mmmhhh...you're my good girl. My girl." He whispered softly to me as I sat on his lap as he sat in his desk-chair and he wrapped his arm around my waist whilst removing all of the detentions I had that month.

ACCIDENTAL
SUMMARY — after a battle, you begin to wonder if all you’re meant to do is suffer, or if maybe, it was all accidental
AUTHORS NOTE — i forced @cuinaminute229 to give me a prompt (what if i told you none of this, was accidental), and then incorporated a road trip into this so enjoy the mess that it is! i wrote this in a lecture so if there are any minutes, no there aren’t
Tumblr media
The lavender haze that settled around the compound brought peace to your mind. The days had only been getting longer since the last alien invasion you’d save New York City from, and despite the medals you’d won and magazine articles describing your heroics and praising you for your bravery, nothing felt lived up to enough to even calm your mind and save you one night of traumatic nightmares that wake you up with panting and cold flashes routinely.
You’d not been affected by a battle like this since Sokovia. Then, for almost an entire year, your nights were plagued with the echoing screams of Wanda calling for her brother. You jumped at every slammed door and couldn’t wash your hands or take a shower without thinking the water you dipped your body in was the blood everyone lost. Fury retired you from combat for seven months, Maria called your personal cell three times a week just to make sure your head was above water at the bare minimum, Natasha didn’t leave your side. For an Avenger, you were entirely human. But for a human, you were entirely too selfless. You were the heart of the team, the one who bore the most emotion, who thought of the innocence lost every time an invasion struck and children lost parents, parents lost kids, and those who were just lucky enough to lose nothing watched as everyone else lost everything. Nobody ever won, and you took it upon yourself to feel that hurt for them, because maybe, if you’d done something differently, if you’d acted quicker, or with more clarity, you might’ve been able to save somebody a funeral, or a house, or a car. Maybe if you’d been different, things wouldn’t be so bad.
Outside of being an Avenger, Natasha Romanoff was many things. She was careful, incredibly so, but even more than that, she was adventurous. After battles like Sokovia or New York, the first thing the Widow made priority of doing was submerge herself in change. When asked, she would never be honest about how much these battles left her wounded inside, but you knew the truth. You knew her like the back of your hand, and you knew the reason she was so eager for something different was because she didn’t want the remnants of who she was before a war suffocating how much she’d changed after it. If it was anything from dying her hair another color or cutting it all off, she was completely erasing who she was before from her appearance. She was all about new beginnings, and with all she’d overcome, you had no qualms about getting used to blonde hair, short hair, red hair, long hair.
This time was different though. Although her hair had been chopped a few nights ago, something in Natasha still craved for a new beginning. Her skin itched with the thought of how many lives had been lost, but mostly, her heart bled watching you suffocate in this city. The both of you needed out for a little, the both of you were so destroyed by selflessness that it left you nothing more than empty shells of lovers. Devoting your life to everyone else left so little time for devoting life for yourself and her, and maybe it was time to reclaim the moments you had left. If being an Avenger had forewarned you of anything, you’d learned how fragile life is.
Natasha left the bedroom hours ago, muttering something beneath her breath in russian. It was endearing, but you were too sedated by sadness to smile the way you would’ve under lighter circumstances. The sunset was lavender around the compound, and something about the gentle purple sky with impulsive strokes of blue and pink painted around the clouds let your mind wander from bloodshed to warmer days. It was the first time in weeks you hadn’t been paralyzed by PTSD.
The hinges on the door creaked as Natasha came back into the bedroom, arms adorned in blankets and snacks. Your eyes creased, watching her silently scramble around the room until she found the two duffle bags that stayed folded in the bottom of your closet until there was a mission that pulled you away for weeks. The white embroidering of ‘Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement Logistics Division’ is beginning to fray from the long term heavy duty use, but you have no idea why Natasha would need them now. The both of you had been laid off pending clearance from your appointed trauma counselors. If Fury didn’t play with two things, it was his favorite girls, albeit Maria, but she was usually safer off then you both.
She rustled through your closet and dresser drawers, folding odd articles of clothing and placing them in the duffle bags without consulting you on her motive. When she moved onto her clothes, you saw her brow pinch. She looked over you with flushed cheeks, nodding silently before moving on to grab shoes and chargers and shoving them into the duffles as well.
“You have my favorite hoodie on.” She mumbled neither to you or to herself, just stating what she’d discovered now that she’d finally come out of her head enough to analyze you. The both of you had been on autopilot for weeks, right next to each other but not even in the same room. “Let's go.”
You frowned, hugging the white comforter tighter around you while pulling your knees into your chest in a protective ball. “What?” You cocked your head to the side, a horrible habit that you’d picked up from Wanda after so many nights playing card games and cooking in the Tower. You hadn’t done so much of that since moving into the compound, but things had changed exponentially since then. It seemed one of you was always traumatized.
“We’re going on a road trip. Then Yelena’s picking us up. Melina renovated the cabin. We’re getting out of here.” Natasha didn’t give you any room to pose an argument. Her words were clear, and the direct edge to her words meant she wasn’t about to let you object. Just like you knew her, she knew you. Maybe you weren’t as inherently outgoing as she was, but you were always down to tag along.
“We can’t just leave.” You rebutted, grabbing her hand overtop of the duffle bag. Her skin was clammy, cold to the touch, trembling with anxiety that would’ve been untraceable had you been anyone else. You read her better than you read a third grade level chapter book.
She cocked an eyebrow, matching your curious head tilt that was meant to be threatening but came off as nothing but almost childish innocence. You could never be threatening to her, despite wielding knives and guns, and being marked with scars from battle where you’ve killed. She could never see you for any of that, just like you could never see her for an assassin. You were just Y/N and Natasha when alone together, and maybe that’s why you worked so well. “Why not?”
“What if-”
“They need us? The world ends? Haven’t we done our part, Y/N? Don’t we deserve a few weeks away from a city that's painted with blood?” Natasha climbed onto the bed, sitting on her knees in front of you. Tears filled your eyes, your heart hammering in your throat, it was like the world faded around you. What if something happened when you were gone? What if somebody needed you? They’d blame you so easily if you weren’t there. All your work in saving the city once would be undone in seconds. How did you get here? In a circumstance that left you paralyzed between choosing yourself and your girlfriend and choosing the lives of innocence?
“What if this is all we’re meant to do, Nat. What if none of this is accidental.”
“We’re meant for more than laying in bed unable to sleep because all we can hear is gunshots, because when we close our eyes all we see is people dying. We’re meant for more than panicking anytime our skin gets wet and thinking its blood, for mentally preparing for an attack anytime we turn a corner, for being scared of the dark in our twenties. We’ve done our part. We’ve made up for all the wrong we’ve been forced to do in life. You have to forgive yourself at some point. The world has forgiven you. I’ve forgiven you. You were never meant to be treated so harshly by the world, this was never meant to be your full purpose.” Natasha reaches out to brush a tear from your cheek, smiling her own watery smile at you as she tries not to cry. She’d never have forgiven herself if it weren’t for you, but she’d go to great lengths to make sure you understood how much nobody blamed you for your past.
“What if i’m not ready to forgive me?” You leaned into Natasha’s hand, grabbing onto her wrist to keep it there, comforted by her skin on yours, despite it being clammy and cold.
Natasha shook her head, tears falling from her eyes despite trying to keep them at bay. “I’ll do it until you’re ready.”

Sleeping is hard
Tumblr media
Summary: After a little argument with Natasha over a mission she didn't know you had, you try to find a way to cope. This time it doesn't go as planned
Warnings: drug use, alcohol, overdose, swearing, a pissed Natasha, mention of medications, insomnia(?)
A/N: I'm sorry if anything is spelled incorrectly, but English is not my first language. I apologize in advance for my grammar and spelling
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/N POV
It was 3:00 in the morning.
3:00 a.m. and I was lying on the bed looking at the ceiling, thinking about a girl with red hair and emerald eyes. My family that I found out wasn’t so perfect. The missions and the stress they cause. The past and millions of other things. It was as if my mind was no longer controlled by me, but had a life of its own.
After another two hours of watching the drugs on my desk, watching TV, and lying on the floor looking at the ceiling, I picked up the phone and went to Fury’s contact who finally answered after several attempts.
"What do you want at 5 in the morning?" he replied with a mixture of fatigue and anger in his tone of voice
"Well, I was hoping that maybe I could-" he interrupted me just as I was proposing
"No, go to sleep," he continued, and I heard noises in the background that sounded like someone was getting out of bed
"You didn’t even let me finish the sentence, Fury" I kind of whined after his answer
"You want a mission. But I won’t give it to you. You have to sleep. At least try, Sergeant."
I could hear the concern in his tone of voice. Ever since I told him I couldn’t sleep, he started worrying more and more, and he wouldn’t let me go out without someone else with me. Most of the time it was Nat. This was a bit of a problem for me most of the time, as I’m not very good with feelings I always try to push them into a remote part of my mind. He and Maria were afraid that I would faint at any moment and no one was there to take me back to the tower.
"Do you want to hear words that will make you feel even more anxious?" I asked him. More than asking, I was threatening him
"All right, you don’t have to do it. Simple mission. Go into the base, engine room, and lab, get in there, and get everything we can use. I just sent you the files on the rest".
"Wow, you’re not as old as I thought you were. You can use a computer better than Steve. I didn’t know you could do it"
"Y/N, I’m serious. Anyway, you should have the mission file. Then I want you to go straight to S.H.I.E.L.D.’s headquarters where you and I will have a nice little chat" he told me seriously
"Yes, sir"
"I’m not joking and you know it. Now go. Our conversation is waiting"
And with that, he hung up. I immediately opened the computer and looked at all the details of the mission. I couldn’t concentrate, and as a result, I would do as usual on my own. Anyway, I realized that the place I was supposed to go to had already been searched by other agents who couldn’t get all the paperwork they needed. I got dressed and left my room, only to find Natasha with wet hair and running in front of me. As soon as she saw me, she looked at me confused as I watched her blushing, praying to all the gods that she hadn’t seen it.
"Hey, where are you going?" she asked confused, grabbing my face as my head, grabbing my face in her hands as my head was turned sideways.
"I’m going out. I’ll be back around 6:30. Why? Are you worried about me, Romanoff?" I told her jokingly hoping she wouldn’t say she was.
"It’s raining" She ignored my sarcastic remark and walked into my room, leaving me out trying to pull myself together again after she put her hands on my cheeks. "At least get something to cover you up," she said looking in my closet
"Nat, no need. I’m going to Sebastian’s house. There is also Adem and we'll sleep there" I said hoping that she would convince herself and let me go on a mission so the chat with Fury would pass faster.
"Okay, but you still have to cover yourself. You’ll catch a cold, and that’s not what we need right now. I don’t know if you realize how you are when you’re sick. I think I only saw you like that when you were using it. It’s a good thing you stopped," She continued with a sigh of relief.
Yeah, I’m done with…
"Nat, I have to go. I’ll see you at 6:30," I told her by kissing her cheek walking out, and leaving her there, like she was immobilized.
I ran down to the garage because I was super late and I took my car to go to SHIELD, made a stop at Sebastian’s house, and parked in his driveway, so at least the tracker would report that I was (my car was) at Sebastian’s. Then I started running to the safest building in the world.
As soon as I went up to the roof, I saw the jet with Maria next to it tapping her foot impatiently against the floor, like she’d been waiting for me for hours.
"Hill" I greeted her, but she just looked at me sideways.
"I was in bed sleeping blissfully and strangely calls me Fury saying I had to accompany you on a mission. You owe me a round of shots on Friday night I’ll tell you" she said as she drove behind me towards the controls.
"Wait and hope for Maria. Wait and hope," I said, smiling, as she continued to look at me with a murderous look.
"Y/N, Fury has already given you all the information, right?" she asked me and I nodded while I got up to go get ready.
"Maria, is Coulson’s offer still valid for the suit?" I asked after a while that I got out of the bathroom after I changed.
"Why?" she asked, turning around, and as soon as she did, she laughed.
"Don’t you like the HYDRA style?" she asked joking and laughing.
"You suck, let me tell you" I mumbled to myself while the one kept laughing.
"Better question. When are you gonna ask the famous Black Widow out?" continued with a smile printed on my face as she watched me blush.
"Probably never" I answered by opening the back door ready to jump down without a parachute, because let’s face it, where would the fun be otherwise?
"Too shy or too scared?" she asked looking back.
"Too busy!" I yelled so she could hear me before jumping and landing on the roof of the base a few seconds later.
"You know, there are parachutes" I heard Maria's voice coming from my right ear.
"That’s exactly what I was thinking about in my head. Then I told myself that it’s funny so why not do it" I replied whispering in case there was someone on the base that maybe he had hidden.
"Move your ass and go to the east side of the building. That should be the engine room," she ordered me and I immediately went to the point she told me to go.
"Okay, but don’t be so rude" I complained and then increased the speed of my pace.
When I got to the engine room, I immediately started backing up all the data that Fury had asked for. They have computers a little different from today’s since it seems that this box was manufactured by the Huns.
"Sergeant, JARVIS just warned me that Agent Romanoff is on the phone," I suddenly heard Hill calling me. Well, I’m in deep shit.
"Tell her I’ll call her back later," I tried to cover my ass.
"Agent Romanoff is continuing to insist, Sergeant. She is threatening you with a slow and painful death. Are you positive that ignoring her is the case?" She playfully asked me again but I knew that Nat’s words were true.
"You know what, give it to me," I finally decided since I still didn’t want to die.
"WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?!" She immediately yelled at me and I had to pull out the earpiece for how loud she was shouting at me.
"What do you mean," I tried to play dumb.
"I mean exactly what I said. You’re not at Sebastian’s. So I’ll ask you again. Where the fuck are you?".
Fuck. She must have called Sebastian and he told her I wasn’t actually at his place. Snitches end up in ditches Sebastian, remember?
"Ah, we went out".
Here you can see an example of wild Y/N trying to escape from her hunter to survive.
"MAYBE TELL ME NEXT TIME? Where are you?" She asked me a little calmer than before.
"Central Park" What a bullshit Y/N.
"So if I go there I find you right?" She continued.
"Of course" let’s try.
Move faster shitty data, that if Nat finds out I’m not in Central Park, she really is going to kill me, and technically, I’d like to live a little longer. At least let me get home.
"Well, then I’ll see you there in 15 minutes".
She hung up. I’m dead. I don’t even have a will. I’m gonna die. Meanwhile, by the grace of God, the computer of 1500 b.C had finished with the data and I left, jumping from the roof and landing on the door still open. I went to the bathroom and started taking the fastest shower in the world. Jesus thank God for giving Tony Stark the idea of putting a shower in the bathroom. As soon as I got out, I quickly changed and dried my hair.
"Wow, I’ve never seen someone so scared".
"Shut up Hill. I’m going to die and you’re joking," I answered, opening the door ready to jump down again.
"Well, if you die, you can finally sleep," she said, still laughing, while I gave her a dirty look.
As soon as I saw our position, I quickly said goodbye to Maria and jumped off, as I did at the base. I wandered around a bit until I saw Nat sitting on a bench. I approached her and she raised her head feeling a presence near her. She looked at me for a while, got up, and slapped me, powerful if I say so.
"Do you have any idea how worried I was?" She told me and I tried to talk, but did not even have time to open my mouth when I felt her lips on mine and almost automatically my hands went to her hips to bring her closer, while hers were in my hair.
"Now the two of us go back to the tower and you tell me what’s going on with you. Am I clear?" She said sternly and authoritatively that she left me room only to nod.
"Words darling," she said firmly, putting her hands on my cheeks, making me see her face, as I held my head low.
"Yes m'am" I whispered.
"Good" She kissed me and took my hand, heading for her car.
The ride, most of it at least, was quite tranquil. Up to a certain point when the redhead started talking.
"I don’t want to force you to talk to me, and I couldn’t answer the question before. Yeah, okay. I’m worried about you. You do pretty stupid things. Sometimes you look like a genius and you do mature things, like a mix of Tony and Bruce; but sometimes you look like a little girl, and all she does is act out. You don’t have to keep complaining to Fury until he gives you missions. Maybe you’re not trying as hard as you should or not qualified for that kind of thing, but you have to stop-" I interrupted her before she could say more words to convince me even more that I could never be enough for her.
"Okay, Nat. I understood. You can stop now, thank you," I told her as I kept looking out the window, and as soon as we got to the garage, I opened the door and went to my room.
Natasha POV
Okay, maybe I went too far. I shouldn’t have said these things, but it’s true. I leaned my head against the steering wheel and I took a deep breath before I got out of my car and closed it, then I went into the elevator and crushed the floor where me, Y/N, and Wanda were staying. I hope Wanda didn’t hear anything because she has to rest since she has just returned from a long mission, in which frankly I would have seen better Y/N. We all confronted each other after the meeting, except Y/N, who was pissed because she couldn’t go, and Wanda, and we agreed that she was the best choice. So no one understood the reason for Fury’s choice.
When I arrived at her door I knocked, but no one answered and after several attempts, I tried to call her, but she kept going to voice mail; however I felt that she was in there, so I decided to leave a message.
"Y/N, I know you’re not well. Can you open the door and we can talk a bit together, please?" In this case, I knew the only thing that could make her feel better was inhaling crap so she wouldn’t feel anything.
I heard my voice on the other side of the door, so someone was there.
"JARVIS, open this door," I said after a while more as I had enough of waiting. I knew she needed me.
After the fourth time, I begged Al to open the door unsuccessfully, I sat on the floor and leaned my head against the wall, trying to stay alert about whatever was going on. In the end, however, fatigue took over and I fell asleep.
I woke up in someone’s bed. I stood up, ready to attack, when I realized it was Y/N's room. The posters on the wall and our photos together were on the black wall of her room. The desk was a mess, the closet was half open and the trash was full of tissues.
I heard the bedroom door open and saw Y/N enter with a tray of two sandwiches and two glasses. When she saw me, she smiled at me put the tray on the bedside table, and then lay on the bed, waiting for me to do the same. As soon as I lay down, she turned and put her arm around my waist and gave me gentle kisses on the neck. After a while, she took the food and handed it to me. Mine was a jam and peanut butter sandwich with coffee, hers was a Nutella sandwich and orange juice. I swear that girl could die if we didn’t have Nutella in the tower anymore.
After breakfast, our day went on regularly, we did not see each other much. Only briefly for lunch, but not for dinner because she didn’t come to eat with us. She didn’t show up after that, and when I texted her that the movie was about to start, she said she wasn’t feeling very well.
At 2:10 in the morning, I had to wake up because my phone was ringing and I realized only now that I had not charged it and that it was 10% battery, so it would not last long. I looked at the screen of the phone and noticed that Y/N was calling me; I answered quickly, worried that something had happened to her.
"Y/N, it’s two in the morning, why are you awake?" I asked her, but the only things I could hear were whispers and an irregular breath.
"Honey, are you okay?".
"N-Nat?".
"Y/N, it’s me. I’m here, what’s going on?" I asked her getting out of bed.
I put the phone on speaker as I started to get dressed to go to her room; in doing so I didn’t even notice that I was wearing her clothes.
"I-I don’t. I need you" she whispered trying to get more air in her lungs without much success.
"Hey, I’m coming, just… Please stay on the phone" I begged her while I was looking for my socks.
There were moments of silence, where the only things I could hear were her hiccups and her attempts to get more air into her lungs. I already had an idea of what was going on, but I was hoping I was wrong. I opened the door and ran quickly to her room, but when JARVIS opened the door, the room was empty.
"Y/N, can you tell me where you are, honey?".
"I see a-a picture of us at the parade l-last year umm….".
I figured she was in the lab she was sharing with Tony since I suggested she try to create something to try and get her to stop taking drugs. For a while, it also worked, but I don’t think she ever stopped. Maybe she took them but in small amounts.
"Okay, I’m on my way-" I heard the line was down, and I started to panic more and more.
I ran out of the room to the elevator, which unfortunately for me was already going down, so I headed down the stairs and started running down them as fast as I could. I could feel my heartbeat in my ears like the percussion you hear in horror movies.
When I finally arrived, I practically broke the door as hard as I made it slam against the wall and I immediately saw Y/N curled up under her desk.
I approached with caution since I didn’t want to scare her, "Love".
I saw her eyes full of fear, but mostly I noticed her dilated pupils. I looked quickly around the room and saw a razor blade on the desk, next to a ruler. My suspicions continued to increase, and so did my concern.
She kept trying to take breaths, but it was like I could see that her lungs were closed. It was terrifying. Her body kept shaking and her short hair was all messed up.
"Hey, it’s okay. I just need you to start taking big deep breaths. You can do it okay?" I told her slowly and gently, but when I took her hand, I noticed she was all sweaty.
She just shook her head fast, kept crying and saying she couldn’t but I kept breathing slowly and made her feel my heartbeat, hoping that somehow she would calm down.
She finally looked at me and I nodded my head that she could do it. She was looking at me like a scared puppy. She finally tried to copy my breath as I approached her slowly so she wouldn’t panic anymore.
In the end, I came to practically hold her in my arms, and after a while, she stopped trembling, only a few tears fell on her face, but I did not stop whispering sweet and comforting words in her ear.
"Can you please tell me what you took? I just want to help you, my love," I told her calmly once she had completely calmed down.
"Cocaine I think" she whispered.
After that, we remained silent.
"Nat, I’m not feeling well," she said, sitting down fine. I could see she was shaking and sweating even more.
I immediately got up and walked over to Tony’s desk quickly to find the pulse oximeter to measure her heartbeat. With a bit of difficulty, I was able to put it on her finger, and in the minute she was measuring her heartbeat I tried to calm her down a little, hoping she wasn’t overdosing. As soon as the numbers appeared on the thing, I noticed the heartbeat was too fast.
I called Bruce right away to tell him to start preparing the MedBay because I was gonna take her there, and I explained how I found her and what happened before. But while I was on the phone with Bruce, I saw Y/N start to close her eyes
"No, Y/N, no" I put down the phone and sat down next to her again, starting to stimulate her a bit by pinching her cheek so she could hear me and stay awake until Bruce arrived.
At one point, I noticed that she was trying to throw up, so I barely had time to turn her around so she could throw up better and not on herself. But she kept holding on to nothing, and she was practically choking on her own vomit, so, almost crying at the sight, I opened her mouth more and stuck two fingers down her throat trying to get everything she took out.
"Come on, love. Get out of your body that fucking shit" I kept repeating her and finally, after a while, she started vomiting and letting out the alcohol and the substances she had taken, while I kept reassuring her.
I continued to stimulate her slowly but in such a way that she felt that I was there and that I was close to her. After a few minutes Bruce rushed in, followed by Y/N's best friend, Bucky, who immediately picked her up and took her to the infirmary, but as soon as she was put on the table we noticed that she could not breathe well. I immediately ran to her side, tilting her head back so that the airways could work.
When she finally started breathing again, Bruce immediately started checking her heart rate and blood pressure. After he gave her a dose of lorazepam, which he explained was supposed to be one of the best remedies for cases like this, and attached her to machines to monitor her condition, he left, left us alone. That night I fell asleep with her in the chair next to her bed, our hands entwined.
The next morning I woke up with someone stroking my hair. I looked up and saw Y/N looking at me gently. I slowly got up and kissed her, trying not to touch any cables or anything like that. As soon as I came off, she saw that she was going to throw up again, so I ran quickly to get a basket or whatever to make her throw up there.
Once she finally finished, I cleaned her mouth carefully, trying not to hurt her. We were interrupted by Wanda who entered the room like lightning, a murderous look on her face.
"I'm be back after a stressful mission. I came down to have breakfast expecting my sister with open arms and instead" she started to walk fast around the room. "They tell me she overdosed last night for some reason," she finished and turned to look at us, realization had now taken the place of anger.
"Sorry, I didn’t know anything about you two," she said afterward.
"Believe me," Y/N said. "Neither did I," she continued, laughing a little.
"The fact remains. You are a moron," the witch said seriously coming closer to hug her.
They talked a little before Wanda left because she had plans with Vision, leaving us alone. Y/N looked at me and motioned me to lie down next to her. As soon as I lay down she leaned her head on my chest. We kept quiet until she decided to start talking.
"I don’t sleep. I can’t sleep at night. I have no idea when it was the last time I slept for more than two hours. Melatonin, chamomile, all the ways to sleep I tried them, but not even one worked " she said and looked down.
"Okay, I get it. I also had trouble sleeping when I got here, but I didn’t take alcohol and drugs to make me feel better," I started saying. "I learned to ask for help. First Clint and now you. How many times have I come to you to ask if we could sleep together because I couldn’t sleep alone?" I asked her and she answered with a little "many".
"I want to be there for you like you were there for me, okay?" I said and she nodded.
"Do you want to go out with me tomorrow?" she asked me this time, out of nowhere and I was immediately surprised.
"As friends, friends who have had a few kisses, or is it a date?" I asked with a smile.
"Date" she whispered blushing.
"Sure, but now try to get some sleep. That’s all that matters" and with it, she fell back asleep while I watched her swearing on my way that I would help her until my last breath.

a present to everyone!!! (excuse the grammatical errors t-t)
"The mission went south for a bit but Maria and I were able to retrieve the needed files and get out of the base before we managed to take it down."
You didn't know how she could keep her voice steady while talking to Fury through the backburner phone when she was taking your breath away whilst sharing a passionate kiss a few moments ago.
"No, I don't think we would be able to attend Tony's year-end party," Natasha replied to the other line, she looked at you for a mere second before bidding her goodbye to Fury.
"Well, that was quite a conversation," Y/N said before wrapping her arms around Natasha's neck once again.
You're both enjoying yourselves in front of the fireplace, cuddling as you keep your body temperatures warm— until it quickly turns into a heated makeout session to ripping off each other's clothing.
The clock strikes midnight when both of you are a panting mess, sweaty bodies moving in sync as you attempt to reach your highs.
"Tasha" you whimpered as you buried your face in the crook of the redhead's neck, her cock stretching you out deliciously. She was groaning whenever you bring yourself back down and take her whole length.
The screams of pleasure and pain made your throat sore, and neither of you was backing down from exhaustion— you were both craving that sweet release, later on, followed when Natasha brushed her thumb on your clit.
None of you stopped after that. You got off of Natasha and positioned yourself in between her thighs, her shaft still standing in its full glory, how can you resist and not take her with your mouth and throat?
Your hand moved on its accord and pumped her, Natasha's face contorted into pleasure as she watched you lick the tip of her cock and slowly welcomed her with the warmth of your mouth— right then and there, she cummed.
Oh how cute
The glint in your eyes caused her to groan, knowing damn well you'll make fun of her.
Eventually, Natasha is prying your legs open. Her tongue devours you in many ways possible. She is tongue-deep inside you, brushing every inch of your velvety walls that she could reach. Her pointed nose added more pleasure as it bumps into your clit every time she goes deeper. You were a shaking mess when you tried closing your thighs but Natasha was stronger than you and all you could do was grab her hair and chant her name as if it were a prayer.
-your naughty santa, 🍉.

Guardian Angel
Chapter 3: You're Still Worthy
Tumblr media
Summary: Emotional conversations and difficult choices were on the table for everyone the moment Wanda stepped back into the Avengers compound for the first time after Westview. But just because Wanda is starting over doesn’t mean she has to do it alone.
Warnings: Trauma, angst, cursing.
Word Count: 3.1k
A/N: This chapter has two distinct parts. The flashback of Wanda’s first moments back in the compound (italicized) and the present day, approximately one year after Westview.
Guardian Angel Masterlist
Trust takes years to build, seconds to break, and forever to repair. Stepping foot back in the Avengers compound for the first time after Westview was freed was but the latest in a series of painful and tragic chapters in Wanda Maximoff’s story.
Fury was seated in his spacious office, a glass of Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon in his hand. He had a stern expression on his face as he intently watched Wanda's movements on the numerous security monitors placed strategically around the compound. Every twist and turn she made was being closely monitored by Fury, who remained vigilant and alert throughout.
As he sat there, lost in thought, a soft knock on his door broke his concentration. He straightened up in his chair, alert and ready to face whatever was coming. The door creaked open slowly, and a faint light spilled into the dimly lit room, revealing the outline of a figure standing in the doorway.
“Director, Ms. Maximoff is here,” Maria announced.
“Maximoff, have a seat. Or do you prefer Scarlet Witch now?” Placing the glass down on his desk.
Maria glanced from Fury to Wanda before taking her place next to the Director's desk. Wanda sat down, trying her best to hide her nerves. The two of them sat in silence for a moment until Fury finally spoke up.
“You know, it’s crap like this that gives me trust issues,” leaning back in his chair reading the file on Westview.
“Really? I thought it was your sparkling personality that gave you trust issues,” the redhead whispered under her breath.
“Come on, don’t give me that shit. What the hell were you thinking? Throwing the file onto his desk. “3,892 people. 3,892 people manipulated, tortured, and held hostage so you could live out some television family fantasy!” he shouted. “Do you know what I went through to keep Westview classified? What I went through with SWORD to make sure you walked out of there alive and not thrown in the Raft?” His anger growing.
"It wasn't a fantasy!" she exclaimed, as her emotions finally surfaced.
“It was selfish!” Fury shouted.
Maria flinched at the sound of Fury's voice before the room fell silent again.
"Director, have you ever lost someone?" Wanda asked, her gaze fixed on his desk.
“I was a Colonel in the United States Army and a CIA Operative. I’ve lost more people than you can count, including my parents. You’re most certainly not the first person to experience grief.”
Wanda had a determined look on her face as she raised her head to speak. "I cannot help but feel sorry for the ordeal those people went through," she said with a heavy accent, her voice filled with emotion. "Their suffering will continue to trouble me for the rest of my life."
Tears glistened in her eyes as she continued, "When I finally realized the agony I was inflicting, I knew I had to put an end to it. It was a difficult decision, but I have no regrets about the life I lived with my husband and children. We had our struggles, but we also had many happy moments together."
As she spoke, it was clear that Wanda had gone through a lot in her life. Despite the pain and hardship, however, she remained resolute in her determination to do what was right and to find peace in her memories.
Fury exhaled heavily and asked, 'Where are your boys?'
The redhead immediately tensed up, her heart pounding against her rib cage.
“I need you to be completely honest with me, starting right now,” Fury said. “If you want to remain a member of this team and continue to be a productive member of society, it's important that I know everything. Please understand that no one will hurt them.”
In a moment of urgency, Wanda found herself making a quick decision. Despite her reservations, she hesitantly slipped into Fury's mind as his thoughts were too loud to ignore. She knew that this was the only way she could be certain of his intentions and confirm that he was telling the truth. When she emerged, she was certain that Fury was to be trusted. She responded with confidence, "Billy and Tommy are with Darcy Lewis."
Fury nodded. “Where is the Darkhold?”
“I destroyed it.”
“That’s not what the wizard thinks. Strange is sure you wouldn’t have survived the destruction of that type of dark magic.”
Wanda leaned forward in her chair and cleared her throat. "Given everything that's happened, Director, it would be unwise to bet against my abilities."
Fury finished his drink; the ice clinked at the bottom of his glass. "You are dismissed for now, but do not leave the premises," he said.
After leaving his office, Wanda rose to her feet without saying another word. Maria locked eyes with Fury before hurrying after the redhead out of the door. When they were out of earshot of the Director, Maria called out to Wanda, "Wanda, wait!" The redhead had a determined look on her face as she raised her head to speak. "I cannot help but feel sorry for the ordeal those people went through," she said with a heavy accent, her voice filled with emotion. "Their suffering will continue to trouble me for the rest of my life."
Wanda stopped moving and stood still with her back turned towards Maria.
“I’m… I’m sorry,” Agent Hill empathized.
"Sorry doesn't undo what I did or what I've lost," she countered. "Every season of my life has led to a goodbye. My parents, Pietro, Vision. No matter what I've done to try and be better, to help others, to heal. It never ends," her voice cracked. "I don't know how the boys survived, but my heart can't take anymore.
Maria gently placed her warm hand on Wanda's shoulder, feeling the tension and pain in her friend's body. In response, Wanda turned around and fell into Maria's embrace, her facade of composure crumbling as she let out a sob. Maria held her tightly, offering a safe and comforting space for her friend to release her emotions. As Wanda continued to weep, Maria could feel her tears dampening her shirt, but she didn't mind. All that mattered was being there for her friend in need, offering support and solace during this difficult time.
*^~^*
Wanda found herself wandering aimlessly around the compound for the rest of the day. The cold and judgmental gazes of numerous SHIELD agents going about their daily routines bore into her like a hot iron, making her feel like she had committed a grave mistake. The compound was the same as she had left it, but everything felt different. The once-familiar surroundings now seemed foreign and unwelcoming.
Wanda was not ready to return to her room, as she was not emotionally prepared to remember her life before Westview. The memories of her past life seemed distant and unfamiliar to her now. She was unsure of what she would say if she ran into any of her former colleagues. The fear of their judgment and condemnation made her hesitant and unwilling to face them. Lost in her thoughts, Wanda continued to wander around the compound, hoping to find some solace or a moment of peace. But the echoes of her past mistakes and the fear of the future kept haunting her, making her feel helpless and alone.
As she walked aimlessly, lost in her thoughts, the striking redhead found herself standing outside the familiar building of the gym. The sight of it brought back a flood of memories, both good and bad, of the time spent within its walls. She hesitated before peeking through the sliding doors, making sure no one was around before stepping inside. The gym had become a sanctuary for her, a place where she could channel her inner strength and work on honing her abilities. Countless hours were spent in this space, sweating, training, and pushing herself to the limits to discipline both her body and mind. However, all that hard work, all that dedication, was shattered. The unspeakable grief and loss that followed had left her shattered, both physically and emotionally. Yet here she was, standing once again in the same space, her heart heavy with memories and emotions that she had thought she had left behind.
“No matter how many times I tried to train you to fight without using your powers, you always resisted.”
Wanda's attention was immediately drawn to the distinct and familiar sound of a deep, slightly raspy voice that reverberated through the spacious gym. She turned her head and was captivated by the sight of Natasha Romanoff, who stood poised and confident on the other side of the room. Natasha's hair was elegantly styled in double braids, and her black workout attire clung to her fit and toned physique in all the right places, accentuating her curves and strength.
Wanda sighed, "Why fight with one hand tied behind my back?" She moved a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Because it makes you stronger," Nat replied, walking slowly towards her.
“I don’t feel very strong right now.”
“I beg to differ, otherwise you wouldn’t be here.”
Nat quietly observed Wanda's demeanor, noticing the subtle nuances of her body language. The woman standing in front of her seemed to be a mere shadow of her former self, weighed down by the immense burden of grief. It was evident that Wanda was still struggling to come to terms with all that had been lost in Sokovia, Wakanda, and most recently, in Westview. The pain and sorrow etched on her face spoke volumes of the emotional turmoil she was going through, and it was clear that she needed someone to talk to, someone who could understand her pain and help her find a way forward.
Natasha took another tack. “Get in the ring.”
“What?”
Natasha put down her water bottle and stepped between the ropes. "Get in the ring," she repeated.
“I’m in no condition to spar,” Wanda argued.
“Says the Scarlet Witch,” Nat smirked. “Now, come on.”
Wand let out a long, tired sigh and slowly took off her jacket. With a hint of nervousness in her movements, she cautiously stepped closer to the ring, her eyes fixed on the ground beneath her.
“No hand tied behind your back this time,” Nat said, securing her Widow Bites to her wrists.
Natasha took her fighting stance. Wanda mirrored her as wisps of red danced between her fingers. She took the first shot, summoning a wave of telekinetic force toward her opponent. With lightning-fast reflexes, Nat rolled out of harm's way, narrowly avoiding the destructive force. Sensing an opening, Natasha launched herself into an acrobatic assault. Her strikes were precise, knocking Wanda off balance. The split-second window allowed Nat to grip her arm and flip her over her shoulder.
With a flick of her wrist from her backside, Wanda unleashed a barrage of red energy crackling with otherworldly force. The sparring became an explosive dance as Nat deftly dodged and rolled through the chaos, narrowly escaping each attack. Seizing her only opportunity, she countered with a well-timed Widow's Bite. Grunting in pain, Wanda launched her backward into the ropes with one swift motion.
With a fierce determination, Natasha charged forward. Wanda used the last of her depleted stamina to summon a swirling vortex of red. As the intense aura surrounded her, she directed one final blast towards the Black Widow. Nat mustered every ounce of strength and somersaulted forward through the explosion, landing sprawled out on the mat.
Wanda collapsed to the ground, her knees hitting the mat with a thud. She was gasping for air, her body wracked with sobs. Natasha lay nearby, her chest heaving and her breath coming in short, ragged bursts. The widow slowly rolled over and crawled towards her, her movements slow and labored. She reached out and wrapped her arms around the redhead’s body, pulling her close. The two women held each other tightly, neither of them speaking. Wanda's sobs echoed through the room, the sound of her pain filling the air.

Secretary Ross glared intensely at the team gathered around the conference table, his virtual presence towering over his desk in a show of authority. With a tone that conveyed both anger and concern, he spoke up, "I'm genuinely curious. In what universe do you think I'm going to look the other way while you jeopardize the safety of everyone in existence?" His words hung heavily in the air, leaving no room for doubt that he meant every word.
“I don’t know, Mr. Secretary. Why don’t you pick one and we’ll find out,” Natasha remarked coldly. No love was lost between herself and Ross.
Maria gently placed her hand on Nat's arm, silently signaling for her to maintain decorum.
"If you had taken my warning about Wanda Maximoff seriously eight years ago, we wouldn't be facing the dangerous threats to all universes that she has unleashed. Her actions have proven time and again that she is a clear and present danger, and it's time we take action before it's too late." Ross urged.
"We don't judge people based on their past mistakes," Natasha declared.
"Perhaps you should," he said, his gaze fixed on the Black Widow.
Yelena stood up slowly from her chair, her voice laced with a hint of malice. "Maybe it's time the world knew about your worst mistakes, Thaddeus," she threatened, her eyes flashing with anger.
“And we’re sitting,” Kate said, wrapping her arms around her girlfriend and pulling her back down.
"Excuse me, Mr. Secretary, with all due respect, we are not seeking your permission in this matter. Our intention is to inform you of our decision as a courtesy. This meeting is solely for the purpose of sharing our plans with you and ensuring that you are kept in the loop about the steps we are taking,” Steve interjected.
“Tell me Captain Rogers, what is your intended course of action when the witch inevitably betrays your moral compass yet again?” Ross asked, rising from his virtual chair.
“We never abandon one of our own, Sir,” Steve said.
“To be honest with you, Mr. Secretary, the only one here who lacks a moral compass is yourself,” Maria hissed, swiping away his hologram in frustration.
A hard silence fell across the room.
“That went well,” Clint said, as he placed his head in his hands.
“I know you don’t want to hear this, but he has a point,” Fury concurred, leaning up against the door frame.
"Are you still here? I thought you were off to sail the seven seas," Tony said sarcastically as he got up to pour himself a glass of scotch.
“Fury might be right,” Bruce interjected. Are we all forgetting how we met Wanda? Or would you like a replay of the nightmares she put in our heads?”
“No, I’m not,” Natasha said heatedly, turning toward Bruce. “And I’m sure as hell not forgetting who destroyed the Mind Stone when it meant losing the one she loved. Or who was a split second away from defeating Thanos single-handedly, had he not blitzed the shit out of his entire army.”
“Maximoff took an entire town hostage! She manipulated the realities of 3,892 people,” Fury argued.
“In a state of shell shock and overwhelming grief,” Maria countered. “You and I both know she would never hurt anyone intentionally or of her own accord.”
“Are you sure about that? Do you know where the Darkhold is today?” Fury yelled. “Because I can tell you right now, Strange sure as hell doesn’t believe it’s gone.”
“I think you’ve made your point,” Bucky interrupted sternly. His Vibranium hand on Fury’s shoulder.
“Buck…,” Sam cautioned.
Thor's booming voice cut through the tense and chaotic chatter, demanding attention from all present. "Wanda is still worthy!" he declared with the power of a god. "We shall leave no stone unturned in our quest to help her regain her belief in herself." The weight of his words hung heavy in the air, a solemn reminder of the importance of lifting up those who have lost their way.
“That’s more like it,” Nat said.
“Let’s go,” Maria ordered.
*^~^*
Upon her return, Wanda made it clear that her priority was to provide a normal and safe environment for Billy and Tommy, free from the influence of her past mistakes or her sterile work environment. She was determined to create a loving and secure home for her boys. As a result of multiple meetings with Stark, Wanda decided to move out of the compound and into a home that was designed by Tony himself. And true to form, the billionaire created a spectacular home for her and her family.
The elegant craftsman-style house painted in a soft, creamy white hue exuded a warm and inviting aura, beckoning visitors to step inside. The stunning embellished concrete path, beautifully winding its way up to the charming wraparound brick porch and the wide entryway, added to the home's alluring charm. The interior was just as captivating, with each room meticulously furnished and decorated to perfection. Tommy and Billy couldn't contain their excitement as they were each given their own room to adorn and personalize to their heart's content. She encouraged the boys to let their imaginations run wild, and they eagerly reveled in the opportunity to showcase their unique interests and personalities.
A series of photographs adorn the walls, each capturing a distinct memory that the family held dear. As Wanda gazed upon them, she was immediately transported back to the bittersweet moments of their life in Westview - a life that was nothing more than a fabrication. Despite this painful truth, she remained steadfast in her desire to preserve a fragment of that existence for her sons, who knew no other place to call home. The memories, though tinged with sorrow, were a testament to the love and bond that the family shared, and Wanda was determined to keep that flame burning, no matter how difficult it was to revisit the past.
The family room is tastefully decorated with a large navy blue sectional couch, two elegant Paisley armchairs, and a beautiful Cherry coffee table that seems to beckon you to come and sit. The focal point of the room is a stunning painting by Wanda, hanging above the fireplace. The painting is a reflection of her creative soul and a way to channel her emotions and thoughts. The built-in bookshelves are a treasure trove of knowledge, holding a vast collection of books for all ages. The shelves are also adorned with a few carefully chosen plants, each in its own decorative pot, adding a touch of nature to the room. The cozy atmosphere of the family room is perfect for relaxing and spending time with loved ones.
As you step into the kitchen, a beautifully arched doorway frames the entrance, inviting you in. This is Wanda's favorite room in the house, and it's easy to see why. The spacious area is furnished with sleek granite countertops and a convenient center island, making it the perfect place for her sons to sit and share stories of their day at school. As you take a deep breath, the delightful scent of Paprikash or homemade pies fills the air, reminding every guest that Wanda's favorite way to show love is through her cooking.
Through the off-white French doors, one could step into a tranquil and inviting backyard that was meticulously cared for by Wanda. Her passion for gardening was evident in the way she had transformed the space into a lush oasis of greenery. The fragrant air was filled with the aroma of the citrus trees that she had lovingly transplanted, and the raised bed, bursting with a variety of colorful seedlings that had sprouted on the kitchen windowsill, was a testament to her dedication towards creating a verdant sanctuary for her family to relax and enjoy together.
*^~^*
"Boys, it's time for cake and presents!" Wanda shouted through the window.
"Coming, Mom!" Tommy shouted in response.
Wanda organized a cozy and warm birthday bash for Billy and Tommy, and had cordially invited the team and their families to join in on the celebration. It was the first time they were having a group gathering outside of work since Wanda's return to the team. While the adults chit-chatted and caught up with each other in the cozy family room, the youngsters were having a blast playing games in the backyard. Cooper, Lila, Morgan, and Nate were among the kids who were enjoying themselves with Billy and Tommy.
Let's go," Clint exclaimed, clapping his hands. "Bring on the cake!
“Relax, it’s not your birthday.” Yelena teased.
Steve and Bucky, with their arms full of colorful gift-wrapped presents, walked over to the elegantly set dining room table, while Wanda gracefully lit the candles on the birthday cake, which was decorated with blue and green icing. As soon as Wanda finished lighting the candles, the group of friends and family sang "Happy Birthday" in unison, and the twins, Billy and Tommy, eagerly blew out the candles.
After the birthday song ended, Billy and Tommy tore open their presents with excitement, while their mom looked on proudly. The team made sure to honor Wanda's request for no Stark-enhanced gifts. Tommy's gifts included a pair of stylish Nike sneakers, a shiny new scooter, a high-quality baseball glove, and a popular video game that he had been asking for for months. Billy, on the other hand, received a high-tech microscope that he could use to explore the world around him, a remote-controlled drone that could fly up to 100 feet in the air, and a brand new sketchbook with Prismacolor Premier colored pencils, so he could continue to develop his artistic skills.
"Okay, here's one more small gift, but let's not devour it all at once," Wanda cautioned as she placed the personalized candy bags from your shop in front of the boys.
“Candy!”
“Sweet!”
"You can each choose a couple of pieces, and we'll save the rest for later," their mom instructed as the boys rummaged through their bags.
Tommy whirled around the table and embraced his mother. "This is the best birthday ever, thanks, Mom!"
“Yeah Mom, this was awesome!” Billy followed.
"Mmmm, this is good," Tony said, returning from the kitchen where he had raided the bag of candy you made for Wanda.
“Excuse me, that’s not yours!” Wanda scolded.
“I don’t see your name on it.”
“Turn it around.”
“Well,” Tony paused. Calligraphy is a lost art,” tossing her the bag.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought you said.”
*^-^*
Maria and Natasha had decided to stay back with Wanda to help her with the post-party cleanup. As they were putting things away, they noticed red wisps of magic floating gently around the room, lifting empty plates and glasses over to the sink. Wanda had always been careful about using her powers outside of missions, but it was hard to resist the temptation to make things a little easier for herself, especially when her house was full of messy superheroes who weren't particularly good at cleaning up after themselves. As she was putting away dishes, one of them unexpectedly slipped from her grasp and hit the floor, shattering into two pieces.
"Are you okay?" Maria asked as Natasha carefully picked up the broken plate.
“I’m fine, just a bit clumsy.”
“Like mother, like sons,” Natasha teased.
“Oh yeah,” Maria said with a grin. “Nat told me all about your little adventure. She said you were smitten.”
“I was not smitten!”
“You had a goofy grin on your face when you came back to the cafe,” Natasha said, scoffing.
“I was simply being a good Samaritan,” Wanda argued.
Natasha's lips curled into a playful smirk as she spoke, "Oh really? And who were you pretending to be when you purchased those bags of candy for the young lads from Y/N's shop?"
Wanda's eyes widened as she asked, "How did you find out? And more importantly, how do you know her name?"
“Wands, I'm a spy. If one of my friends leaves with a stranger and goes up to their apartment alone, you can bet I’m going to check them out.”
“Well, nothing happened. I got her some ice for her ankle and left, and I didn’t even know it was her shop,” Wanda dismissed. Besides,” Wanda whispered, peering over at her boys asleep on the couch. “Billy and Tommy are just starting to feel at home here. I would never do anything to put that in jeopardy… Not again,” fidgeting quietly with the wedding ring still holding tight to her finger. It had been a year, but she still hadn’t found the strength to take it off.
“We know you wouldn’t,” Maria reassured, placing her arm around her shoulder. “But you are still worthy of the chance to be happy again, honey.”
“Just because you’re starting over doesn’t mean you have to do it alone,” Natasha added. “Is that what Vis would have wanted?”

1. I love your writing it’s amazing!!! Ilyyy/p ❤️
2. Are your short sfw requests still open? If so are you okay with writing one for Ladybug? One where he and the reader (code name Cherry/Cherry Bomb) are both in the train during the time when it crashes and in a moment of panic they both just hug each other and hope they survive it (before they both fall together into that giant momomon plushie thing like in the movie) afterwards the reader is like: “how the fuck did we survive this?” Ladybug: “just lucky ig”
🥺 ilu2!
I don't really write for Ladybug (or give reader codenames, actually) so I kept this one short! Hope it hits the spot!
Rated M for Sexual References (thank u vvalliu for the gif!)

Well, with his fucking luck, you would end up in this situation.
It’s his first job back so they paired you up together. Wanted someone to keep an eye on him because he’s been acting differently, apparently. You drew the short straw and were stuck with babysitting duty.
“Come on, Maria. Don’t make me do it,” you’d whined down the phone. Your handler had given you a gentle tut.
“It’s one job. Be pleased it’s not with Carver.”
Admittedly, you are pleased with that. Carver is a dick. But Ladybug - at least, that’s what they’re calling him nowadays - didn’t turn out to be much better. With a stupid laid-back attitude and an even stupider hat, you’d found yourself grinding your teeth at his greeting.
“Hey! Cherry Bomb, I’ve not seen you for ages!”
“Just CB is fine.”
“Why’d you need a nickname… when you already have a nickname?” he asked, eyebrows furrowing under those ridiculous glasses.
“It’s a codename, not a nickname. Can we just get on the train, please?”
The old Ladybug might have bickered back and, secretly, you would have enjoyed it. But this new one just shrugs and acquiesces.
Snatch and grab.
Should have been easy. Of course it wasn’t. Assassins running up and down the train like no man’s business. Too many of you to be coincidental, all the while Ladybug’s bad luck dragging you deeper into the dirt. You’re sort of annoyed at him but know, realistically, that luck doesn’t exist. Doesn’t make it any easier to fight off a snake when it’s trying to bite you in the goddamn eyeball, though.
But through it all you can’t deny you’re… looking.
He’s attractive, that’s undeniable. Always has been, even back in the old days before he got that mature suaveness. Those arms, that hair. And he’s also kind of… nice. Which is a rare thing in this business. And you feel yourself soften to his new unwitting charm, smiling more than you frown, despite the circumstances.
Then, well, the train sort of explodes.
Which, yeah, why wouldn’t it? Why wouldn’t a train with Ladybug on it explode? And as you’re there, flying through the debris, you see him open his arms to you, as if in slow-motion.
You let yourself fall into him, feel him pull you flush to his body, scrunch your eyes shut so hard they hurt.
In his arms? It’s not a bad way to go.
Then… something soft. It still hurts, of course, but the softness is a surprise. And when you finally get the sense to look around you’re still very much alive. In the middle of a crash site and in pain, but alive. Ladybug is on top of you, having landed with one of his knees between your legs and his body resting on yours. You might have pushed him off of you if adrenaline wasn’t coursing through your veins.
His hair flops over his face, tickling your own. He’s close. Very close.
“How did we get outta that one?” he mutters.
“Just lucky, I guess,” you breathe back, and drag him down to kiss you. He tastes like smoke and blood and fuck, if it isn’t just perfect. You press your hips up into him and watch his eyebrows skyrocket.
A gun is fired into the air behind you. The two of you look over, and spot the White Death, clinging to life, abhorrent fury on his face at the sight of the two of you choosing now to kiss.
“Can you give me like, two minutes, bro? I’ve been waiting for this forever.”
And you burst into laughter, and despite everything, he kisses you again.

Reader Drabble
Reader x Natasha (enemies)
Just a one-shot I thought of today 😊
You waited until everyone was doing their usual friday evening activities until you left the compound . You did this every friday, and usually, nobody would question you . Most knew you would disappear for a couple of hours and then return, but a certain red head was more curious than others .
"Where are you going?" Nat questioned when she caught you about to go out the door "uh just out for a while , I'll see you later, " you left ,not giving the older woman another chance to question you .
Something wasn't sitting right with Natasha from the moment she noticed your weekly excursions , she hadn't followed you yet, but only because she thought she would be able to interrogate it out of you .
Monday morning came and you were all rudely awoken by Fridays announcement
"Mr Start requests you all in the conference room , immediately!"
You wiped the sleep from your eyes and threw on a pair of joggers and a hoodie and shuffled your way down the hall and into the elevator , taking it to the first floor where Tony was waiting . As you all filled the room he spread his stern expression around the room
"Shield has been compromised , we suspect hydra but this only could've happened from the inside" He started "which means we have a mole , Bruce and Maria pinpointed the location of the device used to hack our systems and it came from this building which means there's just over a hundred personel that need to be backround checked , quickly and violently"
Natasha looked towards you , her expression cold . She spoke up, not taking her eyes off you. "y/n where do you go every week , same day , same time " you rolled your eyes at the widow .
Of course she suspects you
"I'm not the mole," you answered swiftly, "then answer the question." Nat pushed . You began to get irritated by her persistent pushing "none of your business romanoff," you snapped
Eyes started to turn and land on you , Wanda attempted to read your mind, but you blocked her. "Stay out of my head, Wanda," you warned , still glaring at Natasha, who had her arms crossed .
"Y/n isn't the mole," Bruce defended , trying to help you out, but it only raised more questions. "You know where she goes ? Well, spill the tea, Banner. " Tony teased, but Bruce shook his head "its nothing bad , trust me, she's definitely not hydra, and it's not important"
"Okay, what the hell is going on here?" Steve interrupted. "Run me through all your systems. You'll find nothing but my decade-long commitment to shield " you butted in , standing up abruptly and walking towards the door "even better , ask Fury . he will tell you exactly what I have" you made sure to look directly at Natasha before finishing "it's none of your fucking business" .
Anger flowing through your veins, you needed to leave and so you did . You got into your car and drove to your safe place , the place you sneak off to every week .
Home
You hadn't expected Natasha to slip out of the meeting and follow you , you honestly wouldn't expect any of the team members to stoop so low but here you were , being tailed by the red headed assassin .
Natasha parked across the street when she saw you park outside a house and get out , she watched you walk to the door and knock . she rolled down her window foe a better view and when the door open she was surprised to see a young girl jump into your arms and a woman around your age hug you and invite you in .
You had a family ...a secret family
Natasha made sure she wasn't made and left as quick as she arrived , feeling guilty she followed you but also very interested to know why you were so adamant about hiding your family , plenty of the team have loved ones .
You didn't stay away from the compound long , knowing you would eventually have to go back and help find out who the mole is . Walking into the shared kitchen / living room area in the compound and making your way over to the fridge for a drink Natasha spoke up from her seat at the island beside Sam
"Listen, y/n , I'm sorry for giving you the third degree earlier .. I should've trusted you." You could see she was genuine, so you nodded in acceptance of the apology . As you were walking out of the room, your phone rang , a familiar number .
"Hey , did I leave something behind?" You were cut off by a man's voice "y/n y/l/n .. Oh, how I've waited to hear your voice again. " You froze , recognising the voice immediately "
"You know , you're very hard to find ..if it weren't for your red-headed teammate, I would've never found them, but oh well , thanks for keeping such good care of them for me"
The line went dead and you saw red , your entire body fizzing with anger . You marched over to Natasha and in one swift motion turned her chair , grabbed her by the jacket and lifted her into the air to slam her body down against the kitchen island
"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO" You screamed at the shocked woman beneath you , Nat tried to pull your arms off her but your super soilder strenght had the upper hand , Sam and Scott rushed to grapple you and get you off the red head but you had changed your grip to her throat "YOU FOLLOWED ME AND NOW HE HAS THEM , THEY ARE GONE BECAUSE OF YOU" you picked her up and threw her to the floor . You pushed both men off you once Tony , Steve and Bruce ran into the room hearing the commotion.
Steve helped Natasha tk her feet who was struggling to catch her breathe "what the hell happened here!" Tony shouted , looking between the two of "your precious black window has just killed the only people important to me!" You spat . Bruce's eyes widened "no" he whispered "what do you mean?" Steve pressed further "she followed me ! SHE FUCKING FOLLOWED ME AND SHE WAS FOLLOWED You fucking-YOU-FUCK!"
You began to panic , running your hands through your hair , pacing the room . Wanda rushed to your side to try to calm you "my family , hydra has my family" you croaked out , tears threatening to spill , and he will kill them unless he gets me" you added , finally dropping to the ground to sob into your knees . Natasha stood , tears in her own eyes , feeling sick to her stomach and sick to regret for what she just caused .
After the team gave you time to calm yourself , you all gathered in the conference room "I need to know more y/n if we are going to find your family" Tony said sympathetically . You took a deep breathe , you were about to uproot a passed you had long buried "Baron Strucker is my father , those two girls are my sisters , Malia and Lyla . Eighteen and six years old" you shot Natasha a glance and the colour was all but drained from her face "fifteen years ago shield stormed a hydra base in the mountains of Germany , Strucker had already injected me with super soilder serum , hoping I would fight on his side but I took my girls and I ran ..straight into the arms of shield"
"You gave your location away" Steve assumed "yes , he experimented on me from when I was eight years old until the breach . I knew he was going to do the same to my sisters and i couldn't let him ..they were just kids"
Wanda reached across the table and held your "so were you" You cleared your throat and continued "Fury faked our deaths and sent confirmation to struckers pack of dogs , it's been quiet but a month ago I got a tip that there was agents in America, his agents . So every week I've been visiting and preparing them but he must have caught them off guard , god um" you chocked back the sobs "please Tony , the things he will do to them , they won't survive"
Tony nodded and with the help of Bruce and shield they managed to track a location in New York that hydra had been spotted around an empty warehouse "okay let's go" Steve said , standing "y/n" Natasha called , trying to grab your hand but you pulled it away "make no mistake , I will have your back out there but once I get my girls , I'm done with you . I will never forgive you for this"

Destroyed
Part 5
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x Fem!reader, Natasha Romanoff x Fem!reader
Warnings: cussing, cringe moments, possible too much information lol
A/N: HOOOLY SHIIII- I can't believe it took me two years to update this HAHAHAHHA anybody still with me? jk I have no idea how this will end now, I just keep on writing whatever comes to mind haha so bear with me a little more? :")
Summary: You always thought that the best way to get revenge is to let them see you’re happy. You also thought that the best way to move on is to convince yourself that you’re okay until you no longer need any more convincing. You’re about to find out how effective it was.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
Tumblr media
You’ve never felt the need to be angry at something for the pain of your family’s death, because you only had yourself.
What happens now that you finally have someone else to blame?
*****
“...an ancient hero in the flesh.”
The moment Wanda said those words aloud, the more it sounds surreal. There was a stunned silence after, broken only by an incredulous laugh by a god himself.
“I-I’m sorry, I’m not the only one who thinks this is absurd, right?” Thor couldn’t keep himself from snorting, everything sounds stupid and impossible.
When everyone just stared at him, his smile faded and his jaw clenched, “That is impossible! Mortals carrying the blood of the gods are a myth.”
“We thought the same thing about you, Thor: God of Thunder, War, and Fertility. But look where we are,” Tony said sarcastically, “who’s to say the idiotic, egotistical greek gods don’t exist like you? Or every other textbook mythology there is, on that matter,” he continued.
“I’m pretty sure you shouldn’t be calling them idiotic in case...you know,” Bruce mumbled.
“Well, you have a fellow Avenger as proof. And now I think I’ve finally removed impossible from my vocabulary,” Fury responded.
Wanda wasted no time in stepping up in front of him, “How do you know all this anyway? Y/N’s powers are quite similar to mine, how do you know this is that?” She questioned, pointing at the folder resting on Natasha’s hands.
“And why didn’t we know about all these experiments in the first place? Where did you get these files? This weren’t on the place we raided,” the redhead finally allowed herself to speak. Her brain is currently trying to make sense with too much information all at once, she didn’t even know where to start.
“You of all people should know that in a mission, there will always be another mission to finish, Romanoff,” Fury spatted. Of course, Natasha is well aware. She was always the one given a different mission by Fury during missions.
“We know from the start about their goal, but since obviously, it all sounds beyond-the-universe-ridiculous, we thought it was just another plot of Hydra. But then SHIELD caught wind of another location thousands of miles from our initial lead. The tip says it’s where they perfected their process, and they were currently proceeding with the first subject just as you guys were headed to the other place,” he continued.
“One thing we know for sure, Y/N’s in a vulnerable state right now. Emotions are very tricky, especially hers. It also doesn’t help that it’s what triggered her abilities,” Maria chimed in.
The redhead looked back at the folder in her hands; she really couldn’t wrap her mind around all this. Just an hour ago you were in her arms, nothing about you or your features seem any different, so how?
She internally slapped herself for letting you go. This was a lot to process for them, and they were just your friends, your family; what more if you would find this out about yourself?
The redhead absentmindedly turned to the next page, the wheels of her brain still whirring on her head. Her eyes accidentally landed on the photos in front of her, and she wished she should’ve just closed it.
Her eyes widened and she felt a lump form in her throat, her gaze darting to the short description above the photos.
Eris Labs Main Facility: Subject Threats Successfully Eliminated, All Research Data Collected
In front her were photos of a freshly destroyed two-story building, or at least what was left of it.
“W-We did this?” she looked up at Fury, her voice hoarse. Fury frowned at her before glancing down at what she was pertaining to, he sighed and gave her a single nod.
Natasha didn’t know whether or not she should be relieved she weren’t able to convince you more to come back with her. But, she knew she shouldn’t have left you alone.
****
You didn’t know how much longer you stayed seated at the ground. You just spent the rest of the afternoon staring at the oblivion after Natasha reluctantly left you behind. When you finally came to your senses, you knew the sun will set in about an hour or so.
You’ve spent too much time debating whether or not you should explore the wreckage that you just totally zoned-out in your spot. You took a deep breath before walking up to the site.
You didn’t deny to yourself that you’re nervous; you haven’t been here for six years. You never even bothered to sit and remember what exactly happened. You didn’t think there was a point, exploring the place where you almost got killed wouldn’t bring your family back. Besides, you knew the Avengers took care of everything, so there wouldn’t be anything left for you to delve in.
You still think there was no point in finding out what this place was, after all, it was completely trashed so you were sure you wouldn’t find anything.
The universe decided to prove you wrong once again.
You found yourself walking towards the space where you found your sister bleeding to her death. The memory of how you caught her eyes while you were still under some rubbles flowed through your mind as you stared at the empty space. There were still some traces of dried blood even after all these years, and you felt like your ribs are squeezing your heart.
A strangled sob came out from your lips as you forced yourself to look away. You thought you’ve already moved on; it’s been six years! Turns out, you didn’t spend those years moving on; you spent all those years convincing yourself that you’ve moved on.
After all, you remember that day was busy with people fumbling around, and finding out you’re the sole survivor hits a lot than you could admit.
You tried to calm yourself, remembering the breathing exercise you invented the first few months of being the last person carrying your family’s name. When the tight in your chest subsides, you look around once more before walking deeper around the fallen debris.
You immediately looked away when you caught sight of a familiar boulder at the corner of the room. You managed to steady your breath, but your tears kept flowing freely even when you wipe your cheeks. When you found your courage to approach, you only noticed that the boulder had been moved.
You frowned, that’s when you only realize that you didn’t know where the bodies of your family were, of everyone’s actually. How did you not worry about your family’s bodies all those years ago? How did you not think of giving them a proper burial? Where were they now? The realization only made you feel worse.
You snapped out of your self-disgust party when you noticed something that’s out-of-place. Something that definitely wasn’t supposed be there.
*****
“She can’t know about all this,” Natasha said as she abruptly closed the folder with trembling hands and gripped it tight, as if the entire thing would destroy the world if opened once again.
Everyone in the room stared at her. She looked at each of them incredulously as if she’s the only one who sees the severity of the situation.
“I-I know this place. This…this is where she came from. This is where I just came from! Where her parents died; where she watched her sister bled to death. If she found out SHIELD was the one who destroyed the place—the reason they were gone,” her voice cracked as she took another shaky breath.
The team shifted in their seats. The air heavy with uncertainty and uneasiness about the whole ordeal. The fact about your existence is already confusing enough, the thing about SHIELD having a part with you becoming an orphan adds to the mix of emotions.
They know now that emotions are a vital factor in your powers, and it’s starting to dawn on the team that you aren’t probably ready to know the truth yet.
It hurts Natasha to think that she has to keep something from you. You’ve suffered enough from not knowing the truth, thanks to your relationship with Wanda.
After a few more minutes of tense silence, Tony let out a humorless laugh. He gestured to the folder clutched in Natasha’s hand like he can’t believe something like that exists.
“H-How…how is even all this possible? What the hell is Eris working on? What the hell is Y/N?”
If looks could kill, Tony earned two equally lethal glares from a redhead and a brunette. Natasha was about to retort when Wanda was suddenly at Tony’s side clutching his shoulder.
“Do not talk about her like that,” Wanda said, with her other hand raised up in the air threateningly.
This startled everyone, Steve rushed to Wanda’s side and gently held her back. Tony sighed and lifted his arms in defeat. “I’m sorry, but I know all of us wants to know how we happen to have a friend who descended from Greek gods,” he said as he looked at Fury and Maria, his gaze expectant.
“So are the Avengers currently looking at our very own Wonder Woman?” Tony added which made everyone give out an amused snort, lessening the tension in the air and made everybody turned to look at the two in front as well.
Maria rolled her eyes but she allowed herself an amused smirk. “No, Tony, she is not like Diana Prince,” she proceeded as she looked at Natasha and gestured to the folder. “May I?” Maria opened the folder and took a few moments shifting through the pages before letting out a satisfied hum as she finds what she’s looking for.
She glanced at Fury to her side, silently asking for permission. He gave her a nod before taking a seat for himself.
She took a deep breath before speaking. “Y/N isn’t descended from the gods. She has the blood of Helen herself,” Maria paused. Seeing that the team just stared at her dumbfounded, she continued, “Of course, she’s not an actual descendant but that’s exactly what Eris was working on. Extracting biological components from ancient ruins and battlegrounds hoping to bioengineer Helen’s blood and create a haptandra— the hand of war. It’s—“
“I’m sorry, wait, hold up,” Bruce said, raising his arm while looking around at his teammates then back to Maria. “When you say Helen, you don’t mean Helen of Troy, is it?” This made him earn a small smile from Maria.
“Yes, I meant Helen of Troy.” The team made another round of uneasy shifting in their seats and some grumbling of how this all sounds stupid.
“I suggest you let her finish first before you all decide how crazy this is. Because it gets even crazier.” Fury stated a little louder to get everyone’s attention. It did, and they all turn back to Maria.
“You all know Helen’s story, right? How a 10-year war raged on because of her? Apparently, that’s due to her bloodline. Something about being sired by Nemesis so wherever she goes, there will be strife of some kind,” A hand was raised in the air before Maria can continue, “But the Trojan War was caused by Helen’s beauty is it not?” the interruption earned a couple of bewildered looks aimed at the owner, due to him being a machine.
Vision noticed this and if toasters could blush, he definitely does. “Human mythology fascinates me,” he mumbles as he puts his hand down.
“Some books and interpretations of the story whatnots believed it was because of her beauty,” Maria said, offering him a smile. “Eris, however, discovered ancient texts that state it was never her beauty that caused the war. It was solely her very own blood that caused it; that wherever she goes, war is destined to come. And that… power… continued on to her descendants. The texts that Eris found said it was not confirmed that the power coursed through every woman descended from her, but every major war since her time was linked to her descendants.”
“Okay, so Helen of Troy, pretty much every mythology book wrong, cursed bloodline, powers due to that cursed blood, and said blood was currently running through Y/N’s veins right now. Yeah, got it.” Tony sarcastically said which made the entire team shift in frustration.
Too much information going on and it all just sounds fucking crazy.
Maria just sighed and crossed her arms. “I know, all of this sounds like bullshit. That’s why we never took it seriously when we found these files. We didn’t even know someone survived,”
“Please tell me this is all the crazy we’ll get today,” Clint said, staring at the opened folder on the table.
“I’m afraid not,” Fury stood, moving to stand beside Maria. He paused to look at each Avenger in front of him, “Y/N’s abilities are complex and bioengineered, making them both  powerful and can be quite unstable,” he gestured to the folder, “this thing only explains the basics of her powers. And they’re already disturbing as it is. Now, when we’re done, and we face her again, I suggest you to be ready about shitting in your own pants.”
*****
Three days later.
You never thought you could be any more nervous than you are right now. You've always been a big believer in not going headstrong into something that you have no idea what's in store for you. That was the main reason why you always do your homework before completing a job back when you were still an assassin.
Yet, here you are. Just about to turn off the engine of your boat in the middle of fucking nowhere. You have no idea if you're in the right place, but this is also the most sure you've been at anything.
You almost reached on your pocket for Natasha's widow bites, wanting to reach out to her for help because you have no idea what you're doing. Natasha's been trying to contact you nonstop in the last two days, so is the rest of the team. You even frowned on your phone for a good 5 minutes when you got Wanda's text, wanting you to come back to the compound.
You sighed and took a deep breath. When you turned off the engine, you did your best to scour the ocean around you for anything. Squinting your eyes for anything that might point you to the right place. You just knew you needed to be there, and that you must do this on your own.
*****
Natasha is still trying any means possible to track you down. She and the team had gone to where she left you hoping to find you still there. Probably to also make sense of what happened to you. Of course when they got there, you were long gone. No traces of where you could possibly be. The redhead almost cursed you for figuring out that her widow bites have trackers on them. But of course, from one master assassin to another, she wasn't surprised at all.
Wanda is going out of her mind with worry. Even Vision can't help ease the worry and panic she feels when thinking about where you could be. She can't help but feel guilty because this is technically her fault. She hurt you, yes, but she only did what will make her happy. Who knows that in doing so, she'll be triggering ancient powers inside you? Wanda cannot explain what she was feeling. She still care about you but feels like she has no right because of what she did to you.
Now, Wanda is at your room with Natasha watching her closely. The brunette is trying to use the traces of magic she felt at the Eris Facility to try and find you. When she proposed that idea, of course Natasha was the first one volunteer- no, demanded to go with her. The redhead was still pissed, she hated the idea that Wanda is the closest person they have to finding you. If it were up to her, she wants Wanda as far away from you as possible. But, finding you was more important, so she's willing to put up with her for now. Natasha makes an internal promise that she'll fight the shit out of Wanda after this whole fiasco.
No way she's gonna let you get hurt over Wanda again.
The brunette is starting to feel her head hurt. She wants to find you so bad but she feels a little reluctance when she tries to reach out to the feeling of your powers. She didn't know why, but she still feels the same fear she felt when your powers hit them for the first time during the meeting. Wanda's eyes are now furrowed shut as she tries to reach that power again.
Wanda thinks she must've been grunting with effort because she can hear the faint sounds of Natasha's voice asking what is happening. The brunette sees an elaborate purple mist on her mind, This is it. Y/N is close. She wills her power to reach that power, the same way your power reached out to hers when she first felt it. Unfortunately for her, she feels a reluctance, and it was coming from you. Your power seems to be preventing her from reaching you and finding where you are.
Wanda feels the purple mist is seeming to push her away, it takes great effort from her to try and push through. In her mind, Wanda feels the purple mist started to surround her, and it's closing in. She feels her power flicker, letting her know you were trying to suffocate her. Wanda focused on her desire to find you and make things right as she screams and willed her power to go forward. Until she felt a release in pressure and everything goes black.
*****
Natasha can hear the footsteps of the team rushing to your room. Steve was the first to enter but stopped short at the sight of unconscious Wanda in her arms.
"What happened?!" Steve exclaimed as he tentatively approached. The rest of the team poured in the room with worry on their faces. All of them catching a glimpse of Wanda's power in the room before it completely dissipated.
"S-She just started grunting and screamed. Then there was a burst of her power before she passed out." Natasha said, still clutching Wanda.
"So, did you think she found Y/N?" Fury said as he enters the room.
It was when Wanda moaned and started to stir. Natasha carefully helped her sit up with Steve rubbing her back. "Hey, are you okay? What was that? What happened?" Natasha asked. The brunetter slowly opened her eyes and gave her a weak smile.
"I found her."
*****
It's been nearly four hours of staring into the ocean. You were getting pissed and frustrated with yourself for going here without a plan. You just straight up believed what you found and went to it without question. You sighed, you were desperate for answers and you really couldn't blame yourself for that.
You got up and finally decided to just go back to civilization when you felt a tug in your stomach. You looked down at your hands and see the same purple energy dancing on your fingertips. Only it was stronger and you can feel it more clearly. It was getting more and more intense as you stare at it, you can even hear buzzing around you. Then suddenly, the pressure just dropped and it stopped, but not before bursting a huge amount of purple energy around you.
You closed your eyes. When you opened them again, you felt your jaw dropped to the goddamn floor. A barrier of mist seemed to unfold before your eyes, slowly revealing a gorgeous island like you've never seen before. It has the whitest sand you've ever seen, different species of huge trees that some of them you don't even recognize, plants and flowers in full bloom, and you can even make out the intricate houses in the distance just above the huge island.
This is the most beautiful place you've ever seen, it almost feels magical. But again, maybe it is because 30 seconds ago you were still surrounded by endless ocean. Now, an island is in front of you. You blink a few times, trying to comprehend if what you're seeing is real. When it did not disappear again, your attention was finally caught by a single person standing on the beach. A woman. She is looking at you with a smile you can't place as either a friendly one or a wicked one.
She's wearing a weird but very cool armor that you only see in movies and textbooks. A beautiful bow on her back, and a sword at her side. You stared at her in amazement, there's something about her that's quite familiar to you but you can't figure out what. Your thoughts are interrupted whe she spoke, "I see you finally found my letter. Welcome, Y/N. I've been waiting for you for a long time."
A small envelope sits at the center of where your parents’ bodies should be. You know because of the dried blood scattered on the floor, and it’s directly aligned at the center of the huge boulder.
Your heart is beating fast as you picked up the small envelope. Its dirty and slight yellowish state lets you know it’s been there for a long time. You stared a little too long at the envelope in your hands, having absolutely no idea what’s inside. You guessed that a card with a message is inside because something tells you you’re supposed to find it a long time ago.
With shaky hands, you pull out the card inside that proved you right. You noted the worn-out ink of an elegant handwriting.
43.4130° N, 34.2993° E — find me when you’re ready, Warbringer.
A/N: For those of you who knows my reference for "Warbringer", kindly let me know in the comments cuz I've been looking for my people to fangirl about it hahahhahahaah
