#Sam: why did you steal my brother. why does he like you better than me now. Romane: you were dead. free sibling.
Text
Thinking about a Parallels AU where the main four + Camille are all different ages at the start of the show, and all the dynamics are different because of it.
The only main characters who have met at the start are Sam and Victor, and Sam and Bilal.
Sam is fifteen years old, so he's the closest to his canon age.
Victor is nine years old, so he's the youngest by a lot in this.
Bilal is thirty years old, and he's working with his mom on the tests. He also tutors Sam in math on the weekends.
Romane is nineteen years old, and hasn't met any of the other main characters.
Camille is nine years old, and she and Victor go to the same school.
Episode one starts when Sam is supposed to go to tutoring, but ends up needing to bring Victor with him, because their parents weren't able to pick him up from some activity or other.
I haven't figured out how they get to the woods from there; for the sake of convenience, let's say that cat Romane and Camille feed shows up injured, and they end up following the cat to try and help it? Work in progress.
Anyways, once they're close to the bunker, they run into Romane. Assuming we're going with the cat plot device, because I can't think of anything else right now, Romane was also trying to find the cat. The cat is gone now, though, and they're all about to turn back.
Then Victor notices the bunker (the key is in the door, idk), and wants to go inside. Sam and Bilal don't think it's a good idea, but Romane also wants to go inside for some reason, and the four end up going to check it out.
The test goes off, of course, and the timelines split.
Timeline 1 - Romane and Victor are left in the bunker.
Victor definitely blames himself for the disappearances, since he was the one to suggest going in the bunker in the first place. Romane also definitely blames herself for the disappearances, since Victor is nine years old, and she should have known it was a bad idea, but she didn't, and now this kid's brother is probably dead because of that.
Romane ends up talking to Victor afterwards, and realizes that he goes to school with Camille. The conversation turns to that, and Victor mentions that he's not doing great in some subject or other; a subject Romane happens to be good at. Feeling like it's the absolute least she could do for him, she offers to help him with homework after school.
Since Victor is literally an elementary school child, his parents are not sending him to boarding school. They do become increasingly distant and harsh, and Victor becomes increasingly convinced that they don't care about him.
Victor ends up spending a lot of time at Romane and Camille's house. At first, it's just because Romane's helping him with homework. Then it sinks in that no one else understands what happened in the bunker, and that fact starts playing into their dynamic. Then he starts to become friends with Camille. By the time four years have gone by, Victor and Camille are close friends, and Romane sees Victor as another sibling. (She hasn't moved out yet because a. She's attending university nearby. and b. She doesn't trust Herve and wants to keep an eye on her family.)
Then Vanessa Chassangre dies, and Romane is faced with the possibility of losing her sister. She's trying to figure out if she has any chance at getting custody, when Victor shows up to ask if she wants to go back to the bunker. Neither of them have figured out the correlation with the test in this AU, but they still go, out of sentimentality and curiosity and several other complicated emotions.
Test happens again; Victor and Romane time travel.
Timeline 2 - Romane and Bilal are left in the bunker.
Bilal connects the dots between the tests and the disappearances pretty quickly. He tells his mom. Then he tells Romane.
Bilal decides to try and find a way to save Sam and Victor. This time, it's less out of personal grief and more out of a sense of responsibility for what happened and guilt.
Romane graduates high school feeling completely lost. She doesn't know what she wants to do with her life, and she can't shake the guilt over what happened.
Haven't planned it out too well, but Bilal and Romane stay in contact. I'm not sure how it's going to work, but he's able to get her accepted for an internship at some point, and she ends up working with Bilal and Sofia.
The three of them continue to work at the time travel. Along the way, Romane becomes close with both Sofia and Bilal, viewing them as family.
Vanessa dies; Herve tries to take Camille. This time, it doesn't work. Romane has a support net, a steady income, and a future in the physics field. Romane gets custody of her sister.
They figure out the time travel. Bilal decides to go back.
Timeline 3 - Sam is left in the bunker; Bilal travels back to this one; Victor and Romane travel back to this one.
Since Bilal was already an adult before the time travel, Sam still recognizes him. He's clearly aged several years, though, which everyone is very confused about. Bilal has his canonical memory loss.
Idk what happens for the first day, but then Romane and Victor show up to the timeline at the same time they do in canon.
I haven't thought about how the plot changes from there, but the timeline where Victor kills Sam and then disappears after time traveling again doesn't happen. The official explanation is that they're able to stop it from happening the first time; the actual explanation is that I can't keep track of that many timelines in an already complicated AU.
Notes on the AU:
Camille ends up being there for the finale's events, both because she's a little older in the AU and because she's friends with Victor in the AU, so she insists on coming with the main characters.
Victor's emotional conflict ends up being roughly the same, because on the one hand, he's had more of a support net for those four years, but on the other, he's younger with more intense emotions, so it all kind of evens out.
For obvious reasons, none of the canon romantic relationships exist, with the exception of Sofia and Lieutenant Retz.
Obviously lots of things are different with this one, but I can't really think of a lot right now because I'm tired, so I might add to this later.

Sam Winchester has always been a romantic. He wasn’t really one for hookups or one night stands like his brother. He wanted to find his soul mate, his other half, his omega. For a long time, believed that Jess was his. He wanted to claim her but then she died. And as horrible it was to say out loud, or even think about, he didn’t feel his soul tear like other people have who have lost their mates, claimed or not. So somewhere out there was his perfect one.
The Impala pulled into Bobby’s driveway, Sam immediately stepping out of the car with his duffle bag, sick of Dean’s music and constant stories about the girl he hooked up with the night before. The scream door creaked open. “Bobby! Where are you?” “Kitchen.” He grumbled. ”You got pie for us?” Dean barged in behind Sam, immediately headed to the kitchen and rifling through the cabinets. “Stop stealing my food you idjit! Y/N just bought all that today!” Bobby smacked the back of Dean’s head when it was low enough for him to reach.
“Y/N? She sounds hot. She your girlfriend?” “She’s my nurse, and you’ll keep your knot away from her!” Dean lifted his hands in surrender. “Alright, but why do you need a nurse, you seem to be getting around just fine.” He pointed to the wheelchair that Bobby had been forced back into. “I was shot in the head, dumbass.”
Sam was silent. Y/N. That name sounded really familiar, but he couldn’t quite place it. “How are you holding up Bobby? You seem better.” “I’m fine. Y/N has been doing all the heavy lifting for me. She’s been a good friend.” He wheeled into the living room, grabbing a bottle on the way and taking a swig. “You’re starting the drinking early today old man.” “It’s water.”
Both boys stopped in their tracks. “Did you just say water?” “Y/N doesn’t want me drinking alcohol while I recover.” Dean leaned against the doorway, his green eyes narrowed on his adoptive father. “She has to be an alpha considering how well she’s put your balls in a vice.” Bobby sighed. “She’s an omega and you boys will respect her. She’s a hard working girl and she’s the only thing keeping me sane at the moment. She’ll be here again soon so please don’t make her quit.” He made eye contact with Dean the entire time. He threw his hands up. “Alright, fine! But if she comes onto me, I won’t be able to stop myself.”
💝💝💝💝💝
“Bobby! You here?” A melodic voice called through the house. Sam sat up straighter, he recognised the voice, it stirred something deep inside him. “We’re in the living room!”
“Holy shit,” Dean breathed out, “I thought the name Y/N sounded familiar.” Sam turned in his seat and was met with someone he thought he would never see again. She was even more gorgeous than he remembered, h/c hair thrown out of her face, doe-like e/c eyes that he could get lost in, beautiful curves hidden behind some wrinkled scrubs and a winter coat with a scarf stuffed into the pocket.
“Sam?” Her voice shot through him, his knees felt like they would give up as he stood from the old couch. “Y/N.” She smiled widely, dropping the large canvas bag she was carrying on a side table before embracing the shorter of the brothers who had bolted from the couch to get to her first. “Hi Dean. How have you been?” “How have I been! Look at you, you’re not the nerdy little kid anymore! You’re stunning.” “It’s good to see you haven’t changed that much, Winchester.” Her laugh made Sam’s heart skip a beat. Dean stepped away and her arms opened again, an open invitation which Sam quickly took.
She fit perfectly into his strong arms. He savoured the way her soft stomach and chest pressed into the hard planes of his own. Fuck, he had forgotten how warm she was. The smell of vanilla and cinnamon that used to be incredibly subtle, now overpowered his senses, making him dizzy. “It’s good to see you guys again. I was wondering whatever happened to you.” She pulled away and Sam nearly whined.
“How do you know each other?” Y/N stepped towards Bobby, giving his cheek a kiss before grabbing her bag and starting to pull out some things. “Y/N there was Sammy’s first girlfriend.” Dean guffawed, Sam smacked the back of his head. “It’s Sam and we were 8, I don’t think it really counts.” He slumped back down in his chair at the sound of her laugh. “Yep, we were going to get married when we were 8 and then we met again when Sam and I were what 13 or 14, right before either of us presented. Then they disappeared and I haven’t heard from them since.” She placed a book on Bobby’s lap before flitting away, picking up trash as she went.
Dean watched as she walked into the kitchen, attempting to get a look at her ass but was only met with the book perviously on Bobby’s lap slamming into the side of his head. “Hey!” He rubbed his head. “Stop lookin’ at her like that.” Bobby growled. “How long have you been a nurse?” Sam called out. “Few years! But I’ve only been a personal nurse for Bobby when I’m not at the hospital.” “Got a mate?” Dean’s relaxed question made his little brother shoot up, anxiety bubbling in his stomach. He hadn’t seen a claiming mark at her throat while she was still wearing her jacket.
“Nope! Had a boyfriend for a while but he ‘couldn’t handle being with an omega’. He cheated on me with his beta best friend.” She pulled off the black coat and hung it on the hook by the front door, revealing an unmarred throat, Sam breathed out a sigh of relief. “So you’ve never had an alpha?” “Boy, stop bein’ rude.” “Don’t worry Bobby, you and I both know that I can take care of myself.” He sighed and she gripped his shoulder fondly, handing him a slice of pie and a few pills, “You boys want any pie? I was just about to start up some dinner but Bobby always likes to have something sweet when he takes his meds.” Dean swung out of his seat and ran to the kitchen, Y/N trailing behind him, laughing loudly.
💝💝💝💝💝
“I should go out and buy you a ring right now! That was heavenly.” The older Winchester leaned back in his chair, patting his stomach. “You better watch out, I might just take you up on that offer. Any man that eats my food that fast must be in love.” Dean smiled dopey at her while Sam’s hands tightened into fists, a low growl forming in his chest. “I would but by the looks of it, Sammy would kill me.” The giant’s face went red. “Shut up Dean.” Y/N opened her mouth to retort but was cut off by her phone ringing. “Excuse me boys, I’ve got to take this.” She placed her hand on Sam’s strong shoulder, rubbing softly. “Y/L/N.” Her voice trailed off as she left.
“Jesus Sam just ask her out already.” “She doesn’t need someone like me in her life. We hunt monsters, Dean. That isn’t a life I can bring a mate and pups into, especially with her.” Sam stood from the table and went to his unofficial room, slamming the door behind him.
“Why the hell is he so dramatic?” Dean took a pull of his beer. “You’re saying that like you aren’t.” “I’m not!” Bobby raised a brow. “Then why the hell did you propose marriage to that girl after she gave you a burger and pie?” “Cause that’s someone worth marrying!” The older man sighed. “Idjits.”
Sam was staring at the ceiling, his chest tight with the pounding of his heart. He rubbed his eyes furiously, as if that would stop the torrent of tears slipping from them. “Fuck.”
It had been a rainy day. Sam was standing on the curb outside of the school, the rain washing away his tears. John had gone on another hunt, leaving the boys alone again. Dean made sure Sam got to school but he had skipped out, most likely working his anger out on the motel room. “Are you ok?” A little voice spoke up from beside him. He turned and saw a little girl, just a bit younger than himself. “Are you sad? I don’t like when people are sad.” She shuffled her feet nervously, the bright yellow rain boots she had on squeaking against the pavement. “I, I’m just waiting for my brother to come pick me up. But I think he’s late.” Sam avoided making eye contact with her. “Then I’ll wait with you.” She sat down beside him, holding her umbrella over his head. It was covered in pictures of ducks.
“Do you like ducks?” She smiled widely, a weird feeling growing in Sam’s stomach, almost like butterflies. “Yeah! I love them! When I grow up, I want to have a farm with tons and tons of them! What’s your favourite animal?” “I like dogs.” A grin was growing on his own face. “That’s so cool! We should have a farm together! We could have 100 dogs and 100 ducks!” “Yeah! We could have a bunch of different types, it would be so cool.” They talked for hours, not even noticing when the rain stopped.
At some point, she had taken his hand in her own, holding it tightly. “If we have a farm together we should get married.” Sam said firmly, she nodded in agreement. “Yeah! We should get married now!” “How do you get married?” They both paused for a moment before she leaned forward and kissed his cheek, making Sam blush. “There, now we’re married!” “If we’re married, shouldn’t I know your name?” “Oh right! I’m Y/N Y/L/N! It’s nice to meet you!” “I’m Sam Winchester.” He shook her hand and then kissed her own cheek. The smiles stretched wide across both their faces and they sat in silence, watching the sun start to set.
“Sammy, let’s go!” Dean walked up to the pair, an angry purple bruise forming on his cheek, “Dad’s back.” Sam frowned. “I don’t want to go. I wanna stay here with Y/N.” He scoffed. “Is she your girlfriend?” “Yeah! And we just got married and we’re going to have a farm together with ducks and dogs!” She stood up in front of Sam, as if she were going to protect him. Dean sighed. “We’ll come back tomorrow.” “Promise?” Sam poked his head around Y/N. “Yes I promise.” Y/N hugged Sam tightly, giving him another kiss, before skipping off, leaving her umbrella in Sam’s grasp. They never came back.
A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. “Come in.” He grumbled. “Hey Sammy, I need to go for my shift at the hospital, I just wanted to say bye.” He stood up from the bed and wrapped her in another hug, making her sigh into his chest. Sam tucked his head into the crook of her neck. “I really did miss you Sam. All these years I wondered where you were, if you were happy. Please don’t leave without saying bye again, I couldn’t stand the heartbreak.” “I promise, I’ll keep in contact this time. I’ve missed you wife.” He chuckled, feeling heat creep up her neck. She held him tighter. “You do have a promise to keep Winchester. I’m still expecting that farm,” She kissed his temple gently, releasing him from her hold, “I have to go now, but Bobby has my number, he’ll give it to you ok.” “Yeah ok. I don’t know when we’re leaving again.” She nodded. “I have a short shift today but please let me know if you do leave before I’m done.”
The night was silent, the only sounds in the house was the occasional grunt from Dean as he tried to get comfy and Bobby’s continuous snores. Sam was gripping Y/N’s scarf and holding it to his face, inhaling the intoxicating scent that haunted him. He fell asleep clutching the fabric tightly with a smile on his face.
💝💝💝💝💝
“Dean, what's the point of my going to school if dad just wants us to hunt.” “Cause he said so Sammy.” “Yeah and you do everything dad says like the good little soldier you are. What about bringing that girl to the room last week while dad was hunting.” Sam was seething. “You’re going to school and that’s final. Suck it up.” Dean stomped his way to the car, Sam following after him but only after he had flipped his brother the bird behind his back.
Sam hated this, hated starting again in a new school. New bullies, new rules he had to follow. There wasn't any chance of him making friends in the short period of time they would be there. He slumped into the first seat he could, trying to make himself as small as possible, which was quite difficult considering his teenage body was starting to grow at an alarming rate.
“Hey! Are you new?” A girl sat in the seat next to him, placing her bag on the ground. He noted that there was an embroidered duck on the front. “Yeah.” He mumbled, avoiding eye contact. There was silence for a beat and then a giggle. “Holy crap! Sam!” He looked up and was met with those bright e/c eyes. “Y/N?!” She reached across and pulled him into a hug. “Gosh where have you been! I thought I dreamt you up!” The faint smell of vanilla and cinnamon filled his nostrils. “Travelling, dad can’t stay for too long in one place because of his job.” “I guess we’ll just have to make the most of the time we do have!” The butterflies in Sam’s stomach felt as if they were about to take flight as she smiled at him.
The hunt was taking longer than expected, making both John and Dean antsy. They had stayed far too long in this small town and people were starting to talk. But Sam had never been happier. Him and Y/N spent every day together, exploring the town, sneaking pastries from her parents’ bakery. He constantly had a smile on his face, quite often he had an accompanying flush as well at the sight of her beauty.
One day, the temperature had been unseasonably warm, so they took Y/N’s bike and rode out to the lake at the edge of town. They spent the whole day in the water and when the sun began to go down, they sat on the grass, holding each other’s hand.
“You know Sam, you have the most beautiful eyes. They have so many different colours in them, it’s amazing. Your scent is like pine needles and smoke. Like a bonfire on a winter day.” He blushed. “I like your scent too, you smell like cinnamon rolls.” She sighed and leaned her head on his shoulder. “Do you think you’ll be an alpha? Mum seems to think I’ll be an omega.” Sam put his head on top of Y/N’s. “I think so, Dad and Dean are alphas so it would make sense that I’m one too.”
“I would like to have a mate like you Sam. You would be the perfect alpha.” He smiled against her hair. “You would be the perfect omega. But why would we look for someone like each other when we could just be with each other?” “But you have to move away soon, I might never see you again!” Her scent had a slightly sour undertone. “We can run away together, be with each other when we present. Then we’ll go find that farm and be happy. Please Y/N, please say yes. I can’t be without you.” He was holding her smaller face in his hands, tears running down both their cheeks. “Where would we go though?” “Anywhere, you’re all I’ll ever need.” She gave a sad smile. “Yeah, let’s do it. Let’s run away Sam.”
She had pulled away from him slightly, their faces still very close together. Sam’s eyes flickered down to her lips and he leaned forward, slowly closing the gap between them.
“Sam!” An angry voice called out through the woods, making them freeze, lips only inches away. Heavy footfalls followed, as they grew closer he shoved the smaller girl behind his back. “Samuel Winchester.” The voice growled out, “You were supposed to be home hours ago, we’ve got to leave. Now.” “No dad, I’m not leaving this time, I’m staying with Y/N.” His voice got deeper, almost bordering on the voice of a full grown alpha. “It wasn’t a question boy.” John wrapped his large hand around Sam’s arm and pulled.
“Let him go!” Y/N ran towards them, trying to pull Sam from his grip. “You stay the fuck away from my boy.” He pulled a pistol from the waistband of his pants. “No!” Sam screamed, trying to dive forward. The gun fired, pinging off Y/N’s bike, destroying the back tire and indenting the thin metal. Y/N collapsed to the ground, covering her ears from the blast. “Y/N!” His father shoved Sam in the beaten down truck.
The last thing Sam ever saw of her was Y/N reaching out for him as they drove away, tears leaking from her eyes as blood streamed from a cut on her cheek. “Sam!”
“Sam! Wake up!” He shot awake, cold sweat covering his whole body. “Come on dude! We’ve got a case!” “Coming!” He called back, trying to slow his racing heart. That moment had always haunted him for months. He had been so scared that something bad had happened to her after they left. “No son of mine is going to betray the family for pussy, especially for an omega slut.” John had told him that night when Sam screamed at him to go back and find her, to at least bring her home safely. He had refused, they left town within the hour.
The tall man stumbled out of bed, blindly gathering his things and stuffing them into his duffle bag, including Y/N’s scarf. He swung it over his shoulder and marched down the hall, Dean shoving a cup of coffee into his hands. “What’s the case?”
As Dean threw their bags in the car, Sam approached his father. “Will you apologise to Y/N for us, that we couldn’t see each other again.” “Why don’t you take her number? She does still want to talk to you.” Sam shook his head. “I can’t. It would be better off for her if she stayed away from us, from me. We both know what happened to Jess. I can’t lose anyone else that I love.” Bobby looked at him sadly. “You deserve happiness, Sam.” He hugged the boy tight before shoving him towards the car. “Don’t die on me boys!” “No promises!” Dean yelled back, laughing as they drove away.
💝💝💝💝💝
Sam felt like he was dying. Dean was starting to get concerned about the huge dark circles beneath his eyes and gaunt look of his face. “Alright man what’s going on with you?” The older brother slammed his beer on the table in front of the giant. “Nothing. I’m fine.” Dean scoffed. “Don’t give me that. You’ve looked like shit for weeks now, basically since we left Bobby’s. Was it that hunt?” Sam shook his head. “Honestly man, I don’t know what’s happening. My chest hurts all the time. I can’t bring myself to get out of bed but I feel so tired.” Dean grabbed his jaw, moving it side to side. “I’m calling Castiel, you might’ve gotten hit by that witch.” He reached for his phone and called the angel.
“Sam is perfectly fine. No curses or hexes.” Cas moved his hand away from Sam’s forehead. “Then what’s going on?” “He’s healthy, there is nothing wrong with him. Were you aware he met his true mate?” “What! When?” “I would say eight weeks ago.” “Don’t tell me it was that fucking witch.” Dean sighed.
“Y/N. She’s my true mate. Cas, what will happen if I reject her?” “Both your souls will perish. If you stay away from her for too long, her heart will break and she’ll be sent into a heat that will kill her within a day. Then once she dies, you’ll go feral, also falling into a rut and dying. Neither of your souls will go to heaven.” Dean spoke up then. “You need to go back. You need to find Y/N.” “She wouldn’t understand, Dean! I can’t bring her into this life! I can’t tell her about what we do!”
“You don’t have to tell her. I already have.” Sam turned towards his brother, blank look on his face. “You what.” His voice shook slightly with fury. “I told her when I found her in those woods. I heard what happened with dad. While you two were fighting, I snuck out and found her. I cleaned her up and gave her a ride home. I told her everything. I had to. She’s a smart kid, knew what we did wasn’t legal so she threatened me until I told her what happened to you.” Sam slumped down, running a hand through his hair. “She loves you Sam, she wants what’s best for you and she would let herself die if that meant you could be happy. But I know you love her too. You need her, just like she needs you. We’ve all seen that scarf you stole from her and keep sleeping with” Sam flushed before retorting.
“It’s been months Dean, she probably forgot about me or is pissed off that I didn’t call. Even if I had a chance, do you really think Bobby would let me find her again considering how close they were and how heartbroken I must’ve left her. Besides, I don’t even have her number.” “Yes you do,” Dean pulled out a slip of paper from his wallet, “I found it when I was doing laundry, figured Bobby slipped it into your pocket when we left.” The paper simply said, Call her, you idjit. Sam took it and ran to his room.
He quickly typed in the digits and waited. “Come on, pick up.” The call rang out. He called again and again. He tried Bobby. “Yeah?” “Have you heard from Y/N? She isn’t answering my calls.” “Yah think it’s because she just doesn’t want to talk to you? You left without saying goodbye months ago.” “Dammit Bobby! She’s my true mate! If we stay away too long we’ll both die!” He was silent, then spoke up. “I’ll give you her address but don’t fuck this up.”
Sam had never driven so fast in his life. As he got closer to her, the weight on his heart seemed to lighten. He was his beacon in the dark, the light to guide his way. He wishes he ran away with her that night, he wishes he went back to her instead of going to Stanford. Maybe he could’ve avoided Lucifer, avoided the wrath of his father and brother, avoided all the death and destruction that seemed to follow him, like some kind of perverse shadow.
A pang in his chest broke him out of his trance, it felt like his heart was being ripped apart. His foot hit the floor, a cold sweat breaking out along his brow, he hoped he wasn’t too late.
The smell hit him first, her usual exhilarating scent now saturated with the sour smell of death. Sam acted on instinct, rushing into her room. Y/N was curled up in her nest, whimpering in pain. “Omega.” She stilled. “Alpha?” Her head popped up from behind a mound of blankets. He stepped forward cautiously. “Can I come into your nest little one?” She seemed confused for a moment before nodding and he clambered in. She clung to him.
“What’s happening to me, Sam? It hurts so much.” His hand cradled the back of her head. “We’re mates. I stayed away too long and it’s making you suffer.” She shook her head. “You can’t be, my mate died years ago, I felt it.” “I am your mate, Y/N. And I did die, a few times in fact but I’m alive now.” Her eyes were glassy, a fog settling in behind them. “Kiss me, Sam. Prove it.” He didn’t hesitate for a second.
Their lips fit together perfectly and something slid into place in Sam’s chest. The world seemed so much brighter, his mate’s scent, so much more crisp and clear. They separated, a shy smile coming over Y/N’s face. “I guess you are my soulmate.” Sam laughed loudly, pulling her to his chest and kissing her hair. She sighed against him, shutting her eyes and snuggling closer.
The pair enjoyed the peace. Savouring the feel of each other finally in each other’s arms, finally together. Y/N whined. “Are you ok?” “Yeah I think it’s my heat. But it wasn’t supposed to come for another month.” She rubbed her lower stomach, her eyebrows twisted in confusion. Sam himself was already starting to feel the effects of his rut. “Um well, that’s what happens when true mates accept each other. My rut is about to start too. A-are you ok with this? We don’t need to spend it together, I can leave.” She shook her head. “No, I want to spend my heat with you, alpha.” Sam preened at the use of his title. “Can I mark you, omega? Can I fill you with pups?” She nodded frantically. “I need words ‘mega.”
“Yes! Yes alpha! Wan’ all of it.” Her voice was starting to become slurred, a telltale sign of her heat about to break. Sam kissed her again, pushing her shoulder back so he was able to roll them both over and settle in between her legs. She rolled her hips into his, grinding perfectly against his bulge. Sam growled into her mouth.
“Fuck ‘mega. You’re so sexy, all mine.” His teeth grazed her mating gland. “Alpha please!” “What do you want, Y/N? You have to tell me or you won’t get it.” “Want your knot!” She was grinding furiously now, trying desperately to get friction against her throbbing clit.
Sam smirked. He could feel her heartbeat through her panties. The heat coming from her pussy was intoxicating. “Need to get you ready first.” Her panties were pulled aside and the alpha traced her slit with a single finger, gathering her slick and sticking it in his mouth, moaning at the taste. “Please, just want you in me. I’m not a virgin, Sam.” “Oh baby, but you’ve never had an alpha before, and you’ve never had a Winchester.” Sam stood, pulling open his jeans, dropping them to the floor. Y/N leaned back on the bed, mouth opening and closing, almost similar to a fish at the sight of his hard cock. “Holy fuck. Yep yes, need you to prep me, thank you very much.” He grabbed her ankles and dragged her to the end of the bed, immediately burying his face between her plump thighs.
Y/N moaned loudly, fingers burying themselves in his hair and yanking him closer to her cunt. Sam groaned. “Do that again, omega.” She did as she was told. Sam’s pupil’s dilated, the black almost completely taking over the beautiful hazel. “I’m going to destroy you.” His voice was broken and deep, on the edge of his rut.
“Sam!” Her orgasm was building as he ravenously ate her out, switching from sucking hard on her clit to thrusting his tongue into her. He shifted slightly, bringing his long fingers up and sliding one into her. “Don’t you dare cum omega, you’ll only cum on my cock tonight.” Her eyes scrunched shut, trying desperately to stave off her release.
Sam couldn’t stop watching her, the way her chest heaved, heavy breasts and stomach jiggling every time she moved. Her thighs molded to him, so soft and warm against his own hard thighs. He placed a large palm on her tummy, savouring her smooth skin. “This is where our pups will grow. You’ll keep them safe and healthy in this perfect stomach. I’m going to constantly keep you pregnant, keep you full of me.” “Yes alpha! Give me your pups!” “Soon ‘mega. Be patient.”
He had worked a third finger into her, it was taking all his concentration not to let his alpha take over and just claim her. “Alpha please! Need to cum!” He growled. “Not yet.” He could feel her squeezing his fingers tightly, the fluttering of her walls signaling her end. He pulled out, Y/N whined loudly. “Enough of that, you’ll get to cum soon.”
“Sam, please. I need you in me. Don’t make me wait anymore.” Her eyes were lined with tears of frustration. Sam smiled and kissed her gently. “I’ll be rough, I can’t hold off my rut.” She wrapped her arms around his neck. “Break me, Sam. Ruin me for everyone else.” “Fuck.”
That was all it took for the younger Winchester to let his alpha loose, immediately burying himself deep into his omega. She screamed, which only made him pause for a moment before his hips violently crashed against hers, almost definitely leaving bruises he would discover when the week was over.
Her nails dragged down his back, biting into the flesh harshly. She couldn’t speak anymore, every thrust punched the air from her lungs. He grabbed her legs and wrapped them around his hips, letting him rest his entire body against hers, supporting his weight on one arm by her head while the other gripped her waist tightly. “So fucking beautiful. My gorgeous omega. You’re so perfect. I love you. I love you. I love you.” He mumbled into her neck. “Gonna cum!” Y/N rolled her hips up, meeting his thrusts and threw her head back in a long moan. “Cum for me, squeeze me tight.”
That was all it took for her to snap. Sam gasped as she clamped down, he could barely move inside her. “Claim me!” She cried out. Sam’s teeth sunk into her throat as she did the same for him. As their bond snapped into place, Sam’s knot popped and he shoved himself into her, filling her with warm cum.
Their foreheads rested against each other, trying to catch their breath. Y/N giggled. “What is it?” “I never thought that little boy I saw sitting in the rain would have been my soul mate.” Sam chuckled. “I mean we did already get married when we were 8.” “I love you, Sam. I think I have since the lake.” “I love you too. You need some rest ‘mega, this is going to be a long week.” She kissed him softly, her eyes slowly shutting from exhaustion.
💝💝💝💝💝
The morning was silent. It seemed like the whole town was asleep as the snow lazily fell from the heavens. The smells of cinnamon rolls and a winter fire combined perfectly in the small apartment overlooking the town. Sam was finally content, his omega nestled in his arms, already full of his pups. He sighed, his nose resting on her head, inhaling the scent of the two of them.
A phone rang in the other room, slightly disturbing Y/N’s slumber. “Shit.” He sighed, rolling her over slightly so he could get out of bed. She whined slightly, her brow furrowing before she grabbed his pillow and held it close to her chest.
He grabbed the phone and made sure the bedroom door was shut before answering. “Yeah?” “Yeah? That’s all you answer with after you’ve been gone for a week and a half?!” “Hi Dean.” “Shut up. Where are you?” “I’m at Y/N’s place. We um…” “You fucked for a week I got it. But where is her house? Bobby won’t tell me.” “Why do you need to come here?” “We have to bring her shit back to the bunker obviously. Now that you two are ‘together’,” Sam could hear the air quotes Dean did, “She needs to be somewhere safe.” “We haven’t actually talked about where we’re going to live yet. I don’t want her to give up her life here. She’s worked so hard to get here.” “Well figure it out, cause anyone that hates you is going to go after her so she needs to be safe.” Dean hung up.
“Sam?” He looked up from the locked phone and saw Y/N standing in the doorway to the bedroom, bleary eyed and wearing his flannel, “Is everything ok?” “Yeah, yeah. It was nothing.” He strode up to her and pulled her into his arms, “It didn’t sound like nothing.” She mumbled into his chest. “Dean’s worried that you aren’t safe here. But I don’t want to move you out to Kansas. You’ve worked your ass off to become a nurse. And I don’t want to take you away from Bobby.” She huffed. “Really Sam? There are hospitals in Kansas and I think Bobby’s sick of me pinning over you anyway. If it makes you and Dean less anxious about my safety, I’ll move back with you. Besides,” She placed her hand on her stomach, “I think we’ll have some new members of the family soon.”
“God, I love you.” “I love you too, alpha.”
💝💝💝💝💝
A shouting on the other side of the door woke Sam up from his deep sleep. “Sammy! Wake up! Need some help out here!” He shot out of bed, stumbling to the door and pulling it open.
Dean had three kids hanging off him, one on each arm, trying to get ahold of the bag he was holding, and one on his back. “Help me!” He shouted as the little girl on his back, Mary Josephine, tugged on his hair, making her brothers, Robert and Dean Jr, laugh hysterically. “Bobby! D! MJ! Get off of your uncle! He’s not as young as you think he is.” Y/N came around the corner, her huge baby bump making her natural walk become a waddle that Sam always found adorable.
The triplets pouted but let go of Dean. They filed up to her, heads down. “Sorry ma.” She crossed her arms over her full chest, raising one brow. “I’m not the one you should be apologising to.” She nodded her head towards her brother-in-law. “Sorry Uncle Dean!” They all called out in unison. “You’re just as bad as your dad, I swear.” He shook his head laughing.
Sam watched his wife lean down and whisper something in the kids’ ears. They all turned towards him, mischief sparkling in their eyes. He had only a second to prepare before they all launched at him, scrambling their way up his body. “Really? Sicking the kids on me? I thought my omega loved me.” “Oh I do love you alpha but you’ve been able to sleep for the past 5 months while I have to deal with another litter of your kids playing soccer with my bladder.” “I’m sorry omega, but you look so cute pregnant. And you make such cute babies.” Sam held up both his arms, which his 4 year old children were hanging off of as if to prove a point. Y/N got flustered.
“Shut up.” She said but her voice held no real malice. Dean clapped his hands once. “Alright! Enough of the cuteness! I found some stuff in dad’s storage locker you guys might like.” He led them into the war room, placing the bag on the table and spreading out the items.
Y/N picked one up, tears in her eyes. “Is that?” Sam started. “Yeah, it is. I thought I had lost this.” She held up a small umbrella, covered in ducks.

Old Wounds
Danny’s secret is not a secret anymore.
The lines between Fenton and Phantom have long since blurred. And it’s a common occurrence for news reporters to trip over their tongue when flagging him down, mid-transformation, for a post-fight interview. “Phanton.” “Fentom.” So often that, to most now, he is just Danny.
When Danny wants upgrades to his gear, he comes to his mother. When Danny learns a quirky new element of Ghost Zone lore, he brings it to his father. When the Amity Park Ghost Alarm is raised, he’s first on the scene with the Fenton RV right on his non-corporeal heels.
When he’s injured, Danny comes only to his friends and sister.
Jazz notices the pattern. How it is only her, or only Sam, or only Tucker who receives the late-night knock at the window glass, with her brother on the other side, corny sheepish smile on display and arm or leg or shoulder held up in explanation.
Jazz notices how hushed Danny remains, day or night, when he comes to her for first aid. How he speaks in that same hesitant muted tone as he did when all of this was still a secret. How he quiets himself in the way injured prey animals do.
Jazz doesn’t feel it’s her place to ask. Not yet, at least. Eventually. But not yet.
The window is open. Honeysuckle-sweet gusts of late-spring air swirl through Jazz’s room and tease away the sheen of sweat that has collected on her brow. She cannot wipe it away herself, not with both hands meticulously occupied in tweezering out the singed fabric from her brother’s arm.
Danny winces, and hisses, and Jazz frees another thread from its embedded hold in Danny’s burn wound.
“It’s kind of like… summer vacation when we were kids and we’d get splinters visiting Aunt Alicia’s lake house,” Jazz remarks with another careful tug. “…If we can call it a lake house.”
“Lake shed,” Danny replies, grinning through the sweat shining on his pale face. “And I think every part of that dock was an OSHA violation.” He laughs through another wince.
“Dad was the king of tweezers. I think he got out every splinter that dock ever gave me.” Jazz pauses. “I wonder why that was. Think it’s the needlepoint?”
“It’s definitely the needlepoint,” Danny agrees.
Jazz hesitates on the question lingering behind her tongue. Just a little too long. Just a little too obviously.
“What?” Danny asks.
Jazz’s hand falters. She puts the tweezers down. “Danny, I will always always be happy to help you like this. Same goes for Sam, same goes for Tucker, I know. I’m positive. But I wonder why… not Mom or Dad?” Jazz eyes the tweezers, glinting in the moonlight. “I’m just… I’m thinking how much cleaner this might be if you got Dad to do it. And Mom’s got like, wilderness survival level first aid expertise. I can’t help thinking I’m hurting you more by it being… me, you know?”
Danny looks at her, and looks past her a moment. His grin slips a fraction into discomfort as his eyes leave hers. “Maybe I just like the excuse to invade your room.”
“Danny…” Jazz waits until he looks at her again. “Are you afraid they’ll make you stop if they realize you’re getting injured?”
Danny lets out a puff of air from behind his lips. “No, never. I mean, maybe if I got really really injured they’d say something. But just getting a little roughed up? I think it’s about on par with a kid coming home from football practice with a few scrapes, at least, in their eyes. They get more banged up than me these days. I’m not worried.”
Jazz reaches for the bottle of disinfectant. She unscrews the cap to a biting alcohol smell. “…So will you tell me why?”
“Why what?”
“Why you won’t ever go to them with injuries? Ever?”
Cotton swab, pure silver under the moonlight. Jazz douses it gently, a muted glug-glug from the bottle.
“…I’m that obvious about it, huh?”
“You’re obvious about most things. This’ll be cold.” Jazz applies the swab to the open wound, and Danny hisses in turn.
“Yeah. Cold. And stingy. Cold and stingy.” After a few seconds, the tension eases out of Danny’s body. He droops a little, shoulders slumped, and Jazz pulls the cotton swab away.
“Are you ashamed of your injuries?”
“No.”
“Are you worried Mom and Dad’ll make them worse?”
“Nah. You said it yourself, those two are weird, unconventional medical experts.”
“Then why not?”
A beat of silence follows. A moment of trepidation. Awash in moonlight, Danny looks up at her, and the glow in his green eyes has a life of its own. “I don’t want them to see the injuries that have already healed.”
“Why would that be a problem?” Jazz looks again. Danny’s suit covers most everything, save now for the one sleeve that’s been rolled back. She sees what she already knew was there – what isn’t obvious to the eye not searching – threads of white ridges, puckers of skin, a faded rashy texture of what had once been an ectoblast burn. Old injuries. Long healed. Faded and fading further. “Those are all healed now. Just some scars, right…?”
Danny hesitates.
“I don’t want them to figure out how many of those scars they caused.”
A gust of wind steals the antiseptic smell from the room. Jazz sits with the silence. She thinks, and she processes.
“Oh…”
Danny straightens. “They kind of… live in this world where hunting ghosts is all fun and games, you know? Like it’s a sport, like they can just get into go-mode and jump into the fun. I don’t think they’ve figured out yet that they can—could—did …cause damage.”
Danny adjusts himself on Jazz’s bed, one leg pulled up, body angled to face her directly. He doesn’t let his eye contact wander now. “They both apologized. Definitely. Like that definitely happened, back at the start of this. But it was kind of like ‘We must’ve given you so much trouble Danny! How’d you come home every day and not bite our heads off over that?’ Like. Again. Like it’s a game. Like they’d been knocking my chess pieces over for a year and not—”
Danny falters. He raises his uninjured arm and tucks the hair away from his face. “And I don’t… want it to click for them. What I have right now with Mom and Dad is so nice… It’s so much better than I even imagined. I want it to stay like this. Forever, if possible.”
“Danny…”
“And even that actually—maybe I’m actually wrong about that. Completely wrong. About their reaction, I mean. It’s possible maybe they’d see everything and just go,” Danny deepens his voice, “‘Wow! We did a number on you, huh? Man Danny I don’t know how you didn’t just smack us over the breakfast table every morning.’ you know? Like that. Like this was all just always a game. And they—and I-- …I like how relaxed ghost hunting is with them. I actually like that it feels like a game. I don’t ever want to go back to feeling how scared and afraid and unsafe and hurt I was that first year. ...But I’m afraid of how it would feel to know that maybe they’d see that, look at it all, everything they did and the scars like the actual proof and it—if it wouldn't ever be real to them. If they'd never get that it was like that. If they still wouldn’t realize—you know? That they—if they—I don’t uh…” Danny drops his eyes, and he shrinks in on himself. “I don’t know how to explain it…”
“No I—Danny I know what you’re saying. Don’t worry. Danny, I—”
“Either answer. Any answer. I don’t want to know… I don’t actually want to know.” Danny angles himself away again, feet dropped over the side of Jazz’s bed, staring down at the hands in his lap. “If it would horrify them, then I’d be ruining all the good things I have with them right now. And if it wouldn’t horrify them—” Danny falls quiet. The breeze has stilled. The room is colder now. “…then I think I just don’t ever want to know.”
Jazz nods, and nods harder.
“I get it. I get it. That’s a good enough answer for me, Danny, I promise. I’m your first aid person, okay? I won’t ask again. Thanks for… thanks for telling me, Danny.”
"Can always trust you to bring up the difficult conversations huh? Of course that's always been your thing. Talking to you is--well I'd say it's like pulling teeth, but maybe it's more like pulling ecto-demolished hazmat suit fabric out of a burn wound."
Danny offers a sheepish grin - it's an olive branch, a request to lighten the mood. Jazz meets it with her own small grin that does not touch her eyes.
"Yeah yeah, I'm your older sister. It's my job to be a pain. Now sit still, I need to be more of a pain if we're gonna de-hazmat suit your injury."
She picks the tweezers back up. The silence rings with an echo in her head now. Jazz focuses her attention back on her task, and she finds something she was wrong about before:
There is nothing faded about the scars that web up and down her little brother’s arm. They are stark streaks of lightning, glowing silver under the moonlight. And Jazz wonders how many others—how many that flaked away and melded back with healthy skin—how many of those might still be living, lingering, a permanent part of her little brother, buried well beneath the surface…

Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
Considering all the missions your superiors had sent you, this wasn’t the first one to make you end up with a gunshot wound, but it was the first one that you were assigned to seduce the target and ended up with a gunshot wound as a first impression.
Now that you had met Bucky, the next step would be easier. You just hoped he wouldn’t suspect something was up like General kept warning you about, so you had to make sure to memorize every single detail of your cover story.
Instead of being a trained assassin, you were now working in a milkshake shop.
Instead of having lived there your whole life, you were now clueless about the city since you had recently moved there.
Instead of liking horror movies, you now loved rom-coms.
New identity, new apartment, new car, new everything. It was as if the real you had never existed, but none of that was your biggest issue right now.
It was your new uniform for the milkshake shop.
“Jesus Christ,” you muttered to yourself, looking in the mirror before fixing your skirt. Even after a week, you still weren’t used to wearing it, the uniform was some sort of a retro diner waitress costume with red and white stripes, cinched waist and a white apron over the short skirt. “I’m going to kill whoever picked this after I’m done with the mission.”
“Y/N?” Chloe called out from the living room, “Come on, we need to go over everything for today.”
You ran a hand over your face and walked to the living room to find your two best friends sprawling on the couch. Keith let out a laugh as soon as he saw you in that outfit, but managed to hide it by pressing his fist on his lips while Chloe kicked at his boot.
“I didn’t say anything!” He held up his hands, “Will you break my phone again if I take a picture?”
“Yeah,” you pointed at him, “I will, so don’t even.”
“We need to go over the plan,” Chloe said, “Today is the day you accidentally run into Barnes, he’ll be at that coffee shop.”
“How do you know where he will be?”
Chloe scoffed, “Hello? I’m a genius hacker?”
Keith sat up straighter, turning the pages of your file.
“Okay so,” he said, “You guys will probably make some small talk, let’s have some practice. Pretend I’m Bucky, how will you talk about yourself?”
“We don’t need to practice it, it’s not my first rodeo,” you reminded him “I got this.”
“Y/N, no offense but he isn’t some clueless civilian okay? The guy was going after targets before you or your parents were born for that matter. The tiniest mistake could tip him off.”
“He has a point.”
“Fine,” you sighed, fixing your nametag, “Let’s practice then.”
Keith took a deep breath and cleared his throat, “Look at that, we ran into each other again.”
You frowned at his deep voice, “Bucky doesn’t sound like one of those robots in the Terminator, Keith.”
“I’m in the zone, just go with it,” he said as offered you his hand, and you shook it.
“Yeah, hi again.”
“I haven’t seen you around here before.”
“Oh that’s normal, I just moved here. A month ago.”
“You just moved here?” he repeated “Really? Did you get used to the city yet?”
“A little.”
“I bet your family misses you.”
“Not really, I grew up with my grandmother. She passed away last year.”
“Any siblings?”
“No.”
Keith raised his brows, “Can you be less specific?”
“Keith—“
“You’re not acting like a civilian right now, you’re acting like a spy who has been forced to socialize and he will see right through that,” he told you. “You have to give him more details, civilians talk about themselves a lot.”
“It’s true,” Chloe said, “Once I was in this speed dating thing and just- don’t ask. They don’t stop talking about themselves.”
Keith pursed his lips only for a moment, stealing a look at Chloe before turning to you,
“Let’s try again. Any siblings?”
You rolled your eyes, “Unfortunately not. I’m an only child but when I was a kid, I kept begging my parents for a sister. My mom asked me what would happen if I got a brother, apparently I went like “but mommy, you can give him back then!””
“There we go, embarrassing childhood memories,” Keith grinned, “Good idea.”
You checked your wristwatch, “I gotta run,” you said, “You guys can see yourselves out.”
“I was actually hoping I could stay a little more,” Chloe said, “To make this place look a bit more appropriate. I suppose you’ll bring him here at some point?”
You pulled your brows together, looking around. “Yeah, so? There’s a bedroom.”
“Ever the romantic, this one,” Keith said and Chloe shook her head,
“Y/N, he needs to see something personal otherwise he might get suspicious.”
You pursed your lips, deep in thought, “You mean like sex toys?”
“Oh Jesus…”
“Contrary to popular belief, when people say they want to see something personal, they don’t refer to sex toys.” Keith stated helpfully, “That being said, we’re all screwed if you end up falling for a civilian, you have no idea how to act like one.”
“I meant personal as in stuff to make your place look more homely,” Chloe explained, “Things from your cover’s past that show him we didn’t fabricate this whole identity.”
“Even if we did,” Keith mumbled under his breath and she nodded.
“Even if we did. He needs to see something personal when he comes here, like…” she motioned at the walls, “Like your childhood pictures or your art projects from when you were seventeen.”
“I was learning how to use a pencil as a knife when I was seventeen, Chloe.”
“Exactly. Just let me handle it, I’ve been watching so many makeover shows lately.”
You shrugged your shoulders, “Knock yourself out,” you said, “I have milkshakes to fill, see you guys later.”
“Go get him tiger!”
“You got this!” Chloe called out as you walked to the door, “Just be confident and your milkshake will bring all the ex-assassins to the yard!”
You let out a small laugh, then closed the door behind you before throwing your shoulders back and going down the stairs.
                                                         ***
Approaching the target as your training taught you had to have certain steps. You couldn’t just implant yourself in their life, you had to wait until they thought it was their choice to include you in their lives. Sometimes it took more time than you had patience for, but in the end it was worth it.
Seeing that Bucky Barnes was no civilian, every single step had to be checked twice.
Well the uniform would help the mission, at least a little.
A distracted target was a good target.
You lowered the binoculars before pushing them into your purse and fixing the apron wrapped around your waist. Bucky was sitting with Sam at the coffee shop and they seemed to be in a deep discussion, not even aware of what was going on around them. You took a deep breath and approached the door before you pushed it, then slowly made your way to the barista.
“Hi, can I get a cappuccino please? Small.” You smiled at her and went to the counter on the right to wait for your order. Out of the corner of your eye you could see Sam looking at you with a frown before saying something to Bucky, nodding in your direction. You kept your eyes on the counter, rocking back and forth on the balls of your feet before you scratched around the tape of the bandage over the bullet wound absentmindedly.
Come on…. you thought Come on, approach me already, just come here….
“Here you go, miss.”
“Thank you,” you said, taking the cup off the counter before you started pouring sugar into it just to stall, and finally heard someone clear their throat behind you.
Bingo.
You looked over your shoulder and turned around, your jaw dropping.
“Come on,” you let out a giggle, “Is this real?”
Bucky smiled slightly and pursed his lips together as if he wasn’t familiar with the gesture, “Uh…hi.”
“Hi!” you said, your voice way too high pitched for a moment, “Wow. We meet again, my hero.”
His smile widened and he rubbed the back of his neck, “How’s your arm?”
“Healing,” you ran a finger over the tape of the bandage, “I didn’t die, that’s something. But the doctor said that was the worst bullet wound he had ever seen in his life.”
Bucky frowned, “Wait, really?”
“No, I’m just trying to look badass,” you admitted, making him chuckle, “They didn’t even think it needed stitches.”
“Ah,” he said and motioned at your uniform, “So you’re a…?”
You scrunched up your nose in what you hoped to be a cute manner and shot him an abashed look, “I know. I thought the exact same thing when I first saw myself in it.”
“I doubt that,” he mumbled more to himself and you tilted your head, batting your lashes.
“Hm?”
“Nothing,” he said quickly, “So the uniform?”
“I work at this milkshake shop just around the corner,” you said, “Apparently retro shops are popular nowadays. It’s supposed to look like this pin up style— can you tell me what’s wrong with the dress so that I can tell the owner what a ridiculous idea it is?”
He opened his mouth and closed it again, looking you up and down, “I don’t- it’s-“ he stammered “You know, it was such a long time ago. I think it looks perfectly fine.”
“Does it?”
“Absolutely.”
You grinned at him, “Well in any case, you should drop by sometime. Milkshakes are better than the uniform, I promise.”
“Yeah?”
You nodded, “Yeah! I would’ve invited you sooner but by the time I was done at the hospital you had already left, and they also told me you paid for the whole thing and the taxi, so…”
“Don’t worry about it,” he waved a hand, “It’s nothing.”
You bit down on your lip, “If you don’t mind me asking,” you said softly, “Why did you leave in a hurry? I mean obviously you didn’t have to stay, I’m sure you’re very busy and—“
“No no, it’s nothing like that,” Bucky cut you off, “I just didn’t want you to think you owed me anything, that’s all.”
“Huh,” you clicked your tongue, “I see. I was wondering what the catch was, didn’t have to wait that long. That’s good to know.”
He raised his brows, amused for some reason, “What’s the catch?”
“You’re too much of a gentleman.”
“Is that a bad thing?”
“Not really,” you taunted him “Just unfamiliar.”
His gaze lingered on you as you took a sip of your coffee, keeping your eyes on him.
“I hope you got home safe though,” he said after a beat and you thought for a moment.
“I did, and now I know to stay away from dark alleys in New York,” you said, “Lesson learned I’d say.”
“You’re not from around here?”
“I- no, I actually moved here just a month ago,” you said, “I grew up in a small town, we didn’t really have robbers or anything. And I managed to get mugged within the first thirty days in a big city. A true New York experience, I feel like I belong here already.”
“Your folks must be losing their minds if you attract trouble that fast in the city.”
“No one is losing their minds, it’s just me,” you said and when you saw his quizzical glances, you felt the need to explain. “I grew up with my grandma and I lost her a year ago, so…”
“I’m sorry.”
“Ah it’s okay,” you said, “She wouldn’t want me to live in sadness, she told me that herself. You can’t focus on what ifs, you know? We just decide what to do with the time left for us and that’s it. Past would drive all of us crazy otherwise.”
He looked almost surprised at your take on loss and when you saw the soft light in his eyes, you knew you had just hit jackpot.
“You’re a glass half full kind of person, huh?”
Nope, I’m more of a “use the glass as a weapon” kind of person.
“Yeah,” you said, “There are enough pessimists in the world, and they don’t need me within their ranks. No one really did anything nice by thinking the worst anyways.”
“Oh you were definitely not raised here.”
Your jaw dropped, “You know what Mr. Barnes, I’d take that as an offense but lucky for you, you saved me the other day, so I’ll let that slide.”
“Mm hm,” He looked like he was struggling with himself not to laugh, “Lucky me.”
You narrowed your eyes at him playfully, then checked your wristwatch.
“I should probably go, my boss cares a lot about punctuality,” you said, “But is it okay if I gave you my number?”
He stared at you for a couple of seconds as if he couldn’t believe you.
“Wait- really?”
“I mean I was going to wait until you asked me, but apparently you’re too much of a gentleman,” you joked as he hastily grabbed his phone from his pocket and handed it to you. You typed in your number, then saved it.
Y/N (The Milkshake Girl)
Bucky tilted his head, his brows furrowed, “What, you didn’t think I’d recognize your name?”
“Well it’s better to be safe than sorry,” you joked, “Besides you should really come by sometime. We have the best chocolate milkshakes. It’s on the house.”
He smiled, “I will.”
You took a step, then held your breath and turned around as if you had just remembered something.
As if it wasn’t all practiced.
“But not after 4 on Mondays and Wednesdays,” you said, “I volunteer at the soup kitchen then.”
That light in his eyes was almost gentle, as if he was worried he could hurt you just by looking at you, but couldn’t stop himself from doing so.
“I’ll see you not after 4 on Mondays and Wednesdays then,” he said and you giggled, then turned around and walked to the door. Sam was watching you with a small, proud grin on his lips so you waved at him and left the coffee shop, still holding the warm cup tightly in your hand.
As soon as you were sure you were out of their sight, you dropped the smile, exhaled a relaxed breathe and grabbed your phone to touch the contact on the screen.
“I’m sorry, our delivery service is down right now,” the voice said and you scratched around the tape on your arm before telling her the code;
“That’s okay, I can wait until the rain stops.”
There was a click on the other line and soon enough you heard the assistant’s voice.
“Hello?”
“This is Shrike, put me through the General.”
“Of course, a second please,” she said and you tossed the cup into the garbage can, then General’s voice reached you.
“Shrike?”
“Sir, I just called to inform you that I’ve contacted the target for the second time,” you said, “Everything is going according to plan, my report will be on your desk by tonight.”
“He didn’t suspect anything?”
“No sir.”
“Okay,” he said, “Don’t move too fast, alright? We don’t want to spook him.”
“Of course.”
“And Shrike?” he said, “Good job.”
A smile lit up your face, “Thank you sir,” you said and hung up, closing your eyes and leaning back to the wall.
“Okay,” you whispered to yourself, “You got this, he’s just another target. Let the games begin.”

I feel like you've given most spn related things some lil spice but I always love the spice on this : hot spicy take on the "Dean is the most horrible character and ruins everyone's life and Sam and Cas are poor little meow meows who only do bad things sometimes because tyran Dean farted in their direction" takes that are not really only said by anti-Dean peeps ? Obsessed with that incredible thesis and would love the added spice ❤
SPICY HOT HOT GHOST PEPPERS CAROLINA REAPERS HELP I'M BURNING
I really try to respect other people’s opinions, and I believe there are a wealth of ways to interpret a story, and I think that’s a deeply beautiful thing. This applies to interpretations I don't agree with and outright dislike as well. That said, some opinions are simply and objectively bad, dishonest, and/or demonstrably false, and I truly do not believe you can sit down and honestly watch through the show with an open mind about all the characters, truly pay attention to what they do, say, and believe, and come to the conclusion that this show is about an evil manipulative abusive man terrorizing his pure and sinless brother and friend. It is an interpretation built from cherry picking facts to suit an ugly, miserable theory, making Mount Everest out of a bunch of the tiny mole hills, making the worst possible presumptions of feelings and intentions, and holding characters to completely different standards in order to neatly divide them into "abused" and "abuser" in a way that, frankly, fetishizes the abused person. I despise this interpretation of the story with every fiber of my being, and I have absolutely no respect for the opinion of anyone who peddles it, regardless of who they cast as villain/victim (because people have also done this with the others—it’s just more “popular” to do it with Dean... I mean... does anyone else remember how people were shitting on Sam after his emotional reaction in 14.12? Calling him an evil abuser? Because I do).
The thing that always gets me about this take isn't just how dishonest, unfair, mean-spirited, and compassionless it is in its treatment of Dean’s feelings, circumstances, and intentions... but how deeply reductive and offensive it is toward Sam and Castiel, sucking away their identities to turn them into effigies to mourn for their sad, Stockholm syndrome-esque attachment to their "abuser". Further, it grips the heart of the show—the relationship between Sam and Dean, and then the relationship among TFW as a whole—in a tight, uncompromising fist and pulverizes it. It literally rips out the heart of the show (the RELATIONSHIPS) and replaces it with something unprepossessing of any merit: A miserable, 15 years long story about a malicious abuser getting away with terrorizing those closest to him for his entire life, while his poor abuse victims suffer through until they die for him/happy to be reunited with him because they “don’t know any better” and never ever learned better, I guess. What a stupid, sad sack of a story.
Castiel is a thousands of years old celestial being who has literally beaten Dean into the pavement under no form of mind control, and has shown over and over again that he will do whatever the hell he wants, regardless of whatever Dean thinks about being sidelined. If he thinks whatever he is doing is in Dean's best interest, he literally does not care how Dean feels about it. He will nod and smile and then fly off and swallow thousands of souls with Dean begging him not to, shove Dean out of the way to attack the big bad, leave Dean alone in Purgatory, refuse to come out of Purgatory so he can self-flagellate, fly off with the angel tablet, help Sam with the Book of the Damned, let Lucifer possess him without anyone's knowledge or agreement, come into Dean's room under the guise of apologizing for ghosting him so that he can steal The Colt out from under his pillow and murder someone, decide not to murder that person and still prevent Sam and Dean from helping by knocking them both unconscious, get himself killed, make a deal to trade his life for Jack's and never tell anyone, hide information and worries and ignore phone calls, ghost Sam and Dean, and bicker and fight with Dean as if they are a married couple. Love sickness and feelings of worthlessness (which Cas has a wealth of reasons to feel—many of which aren’t even related to Dean but to his heavenly family) are reinterpreted as the result of some sort of constant, terrorizing emotional abuse. Power and authority that Dean does not actually have is forced into his hands by these fans. Maybe listen when Cas says, “Hey—not everything is your fault.” Maybe listen when he says “I loved the whole world because of you”, calls Dean a role model, says he enjoys their conversations, offers to die with him and dies for him multiple times. Maybe treat these feelings as genuine and valid and HIS and not as the delusions of some poor manipulated baby.
Sam is framed this way even more often than Cas, and it's a damn shame, because what I typically see is this: Sam’s development into a mediator and peacemaker is twisted and reinterpreted as coming from a place of weakness and/or fear. Rationality, maturity, wisdom, and compassion are not the traits of a scared, powerless child. They are the traits of a mature adult, who has been beaten down by life, and fought and raged against his circumstances, and somehow come out of it with more kindness and understanding and strength instead of less. He has made his own decisions whenever it was possible, within the set of circumstances doled out to him. From telling his dad to go fuck himself and going to college, to getting back into hunting to avenge Jess (NOT because of Dean—Dean took him home without complaint at the end of the woman in white case), to continuing to hunt after their father died because he wanted to feel close to him (Dean was actually weirded out and sort of disgusted by this), raging and fighting to save Dean from his deal against Dean’s wishes, continuing to hunt and working with Ruby (directly against Dean’s dying wish), drinking demon blood, jumping in the cage, leaving hunting to go be with Amelia, coming back to hunting to save Kevin, fighting with Dean over what he had with Amelia and threatening to leave if Dean didn't shut his mouth, leaving Amelia to go back to hunting (Dean ultimately suggests he go back to her—Sam chooses to stay), trying to kill Benny, demanding to be the one to do The Trials and saying he is going to SURVIVE them—that being the ENTIRE POINT, losing that resolve in a fit of depression but choosing to drop the knife, demanding space from Dean (and being given it), fighting to save Demon Dean who didn’t want to be found or saved, using the Book of the Damned against Dean’s wishes, telling Charlie that this is what he wants—that he used to want normal but now all he wants is to hunt with Dean and that he doesn’t know what he’ll do if he can’t have that, unleashing the Darkness in his desperation to keep Dean with him and even saying, “I would do it again” in the aftermath, saving the town being destroyed by Amara, getting into The Cage with Lucifer, leading a team against the British Men of Letters, nurturing Jack, punching Dean in the face when he was going to sacrifice himself, leading more hunters, wielding a gun against Chuck... and that’s just some highlights. Sam Fucking Winchester does not need your bullshit about him being some sad, scared, helpless baby lorded over by mean old Dean who has never let him do anything he wants.
Yes, in the text itself, there is jealousy and resentment at times, and there is legitimate and righteous anger on Sam’s part on a few occasions. There is blame cast on Dean by Sam for some of these choices/circumstances. Some of those moments where Dean is blamed are legitimate, and some of them... frankly, are not. Within the framework of the fucked up dynamics of the way they were raised, Sam and some fans bristle when they feel Dean is casting himself as the parent he is not, but Sam also has been guilty in the past of trying to reframe himself as Dean’s child when things got tough. Neither of them is responsible for the origin of that dynamic, but they BOTH have responsibility to change it, and they both, ultimately, succeed in doing so. For Sam, his part comes in recognizing and learning to fully own his own choices. Recognizing that he is not a child, and he is certainly not Dean’s child, and it isn’t just “Mummy—loosen the grip”, but Sam has to too—not claim independence only to blame Dean for his choices when his own decisions have an ultimate outcome he is unhappy with. That is a legitimate arc that Sam goes through imo, but he comes out the other side of it, and he and Dean relate to each other much better as peers from then on—and I’d like to note that throughout the entire series, when they don’t relate as perfect peers and teammates, it isn’t always Dean “bossing Sam around”, but Sam also trying to sideline Dean and yes—boss him around. And when they lied and hurt each other and yes, even manipulated each other, Dean most certainly wasn't always the one doing the lying and hurting and manipulating. Always, always, ALWAYS, they both had an understandable point of view, and it was complex, and you could understand why they made the choices they did, even if you thought of those choices as being wrong ones.
I also would like to point out (because this is basically what I see all of the time) that Dean being hurt by someone or simply voicing his feelings or opinion is in no way abusive or manipulative. Dean is certainly charismatic and loved and his returning love and respect is often deeply desired, but he is not an actual siren, who bends people to his will simply by speaking or being. People are, in fact, able to tell him “no”, and frequently FREQUENTLY do. Further more, no one is owed his affection, his unwavering loyalty, or his trust. He has a right to his boundaries, regardless of if it makes some poor sad sap feel deprived of the “wellspring of coveted love” while he works through things. He can be hurt and angry, and he can wear his heart on his sleeve at times, and he can be flawed, and broken. [Insert Castiel's speech from 15.18 here]. So can Sam. So can Cas. None of them are manipulating each other by virtue of getting angry, feeling hurt, being traumatized, needing space, or having differing opinions or feelings. Sam didn’t punch Dean in the face in 14.12 because he's a cruel, manipulative abuser trying to force Dean under his thumb. He didn’t work behind Dean’s back with Ruby, insist on doing The Trials, beg Dean to use Doc Benton’s alchemy, use the Book of the Damned to cure Dean, pump him full of blood to cure him of being a demon despite the fact that it might kill him, or scream at him and fight him for wanting to get in the Ma’lak box because he “doesn’t respect his autonomy” and “wants to control him” and “doesn’t respect his right to his own body”. He did it because he loves him desperately, and Dean could stand to fucking hate himself less, and he fiercely wanted Dean to live even when Dean didn’t want to or couldn’t picture what that could be like. He didn’t force Dean to do anything simply by opening his mouth to voice disagreement and swaying Dean when he did so. Now reverse that.
Cas didn't beat Dean into the ground in season 5 because he wanted to terrorize him into never going against Castiel ever again. He didn’t go behind his back dozens of times, sideline him, go MIA, all because he wanted to manipulate and control Dean and punish him. He didn’t throw sassy remarks at him to shatter his self-esteem. Now reverse that.

Anyway, fuck "X is abusive” interpretations.

Tumblr media
(gif by @supernatural-jackles)
Summary: Dean and Sam have a setback in their case and decide getting drunk is the best course of action. The boys end up sharing some of their darker memories with one another but it might be exactly what they need to crack the case...
Masterlist
Pairing: SWAT officer!Dean x reader
Square: In Vino Veritas
Word Count: 1,400ish
Warnings: language, smidge of angst
A/N: For the purposes of this story, Sam is the reader’s brother. This was written for @supernatural-jackles Tell Me A Story Bingo. Enjoy!…
_______
“Hey guys,” you said. They both grunted from the couch as you put the pizza box and other bag on top of the counter. “How was work? Any news in the case?”
“Not yet,” said Dean, Sam knocking back his drink. You caught the empty bottle of bourbon on the counter while you washed up, knowing for a fact it was half full the night before.
“Are you guys drunk?” you asked.
“Yup,” said Sam, leaning his head back over the edge of the couch. He giggled and Dean started to laugh. You rolled your eyes and got out a few pieces of pizza and fries for them, putting them on plates and carrying them over.
“May I ask why you two are drunk?” you asked while you fixed up your own plate.
“A bunch of shit went missing from the arsenal today,” said Dean. “They had the balls to drill under the building in the middle of last night.”
“Zero leads,” said Sam, taking a big bite.
“Something bad is going down. Real bad. Like stay the fuck home the next few days,” said Dean. Sam hummed around his food and you took a seat next to Dean. “It’s gonna be a fucking shit show when it goes down.”
“You guys are trained for that kind of thing,” said Sam, making a mess on his shirt as he scarfed down his food.
“They have our equipment. People could die,” said Dean.
“Yeah but you gotta try still,” said Sam, eating four fries at once. “I mean I got PTSD from that guy and I still go catch murderers every day.”
Dean’s head snapped in your direction and you slumped down.
“You have PTSD?” asked Dean.
“Yeah, he does,” you said quietly.
“Guy broke in our house when we were teenagers. Killed our parents. Almost got us too,” said Sam before he burped.
“Your parents were murdered?” said Dean. You nodded and took a small bite of pizza. “I’m sorry. Did they catch the guy?”
“It was a long time ago. Eventually yeah. He got life, no parole. I didn’t see or hear anything really. Sam came in my room and put me on his back and hopped out the window with me and ran us to a neighbors house. He’s the one that…”
“Saw it?” said Dean. Sam nodded and reached for his empty glass. “Yeah. I’ve seen my fair share of fucked up shit too.”
“I was so fucking jealous when you transferred to us,” said Sam with a laugh. “I heard about Denver. You go through that and here you come in all normal and cool and happy and I’m the one still going to therapy for something that happened nearly fifteen years ago.”
“The grass ain’t any greener over here,” said Dean. He was looking far more sober than Sam, one of his arms curling around your waist. “We can’t save everyone Sam. You were a kid. You saved the one you could and that is all we can do.”
“Did you really lose your family in Denver?” asked Sam. You knew Dean’s family had died suddenly a few years ago but he’d only ever implied it was an accident, nothing more.
“It was my mom’s birthday. Everyone was staying the night at the old house. My father was working on a case with the mafia. It was a pretty bad night.”
“How’d you…” you said, Dean smiling softly at you.
“Luck. I spent a month in the ICU. I have nightmares from work, don’t get me wrong. But mostly they’re about that night,” he said. He got up and took Sam’s glass away, replacing it with a bottle of water. “Next time we get drunk, it’s cause we caught this son of a bitch, not a pity party. Got me Sammy?”
“You’re not the boss of me.”
“No, I’m not. But she’s my girl which makes you my boy and I was a Hell of a big brother if I don’t say so myself. So. Let’s eat, sober up, and tomorrow let’s try to catch these guys. Alright?”
Sam ripped off a chunk of his pizza and hummed. Dean sat down beside you and you rested your head on his shoulder.
“Eat your dinner, baby,” you said quietly. “We’ll talk later.”
“I’m sorry,” you said in bed that night after Dean told you about what had happened in Denver. “It sounds like a horror movie.”
“It was. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone,” he said as you had your arms wrapped around his back. He had himself tucked into you, his head under your chin. “But I’ve felt more like my old self the past few months. Met this sweet girl, makes me feel better.”
“I love you.” He turned his head up, smiling at you.
“You love me? Why?”
“You make me happy and I care about you. I wish you were as happy as you make me feel.”
“I was low before you. I hid it was all. But you do make me happy. You and Sam. I feel like I have a family again maybe,” he said.
“You do,” you said, kissing him slowly, lingering your lips together. “I got you tonight and every other night. I promise.”
“Good morning,” you yawned, both boys working at the kitchen table with their laptops. You gave Dean a kiss on the cheek and ruffled his hair before resting your chin on top of his head. “You had no nightmares.”
“Nope,” said Dean with a smile. You peered down at his screen, Sam sipping on a cup of coffee. “How’s it going over there?”
“I think you’re onto something with that theory of yours.”
“What’s the theory?” you asked.
“Well,” said Dean, encouraging you to take a seat on his lap. “I was thinking, most crap in that room you can get on the black market. But then it hit me, it wasn’t about them getting it.”
“It was making sure the cops didn't have it. Whatever they’re doing is going down today and would require SWAT to use that specific equipment they stole,” said Sam. You hummed and Sam turned around his laptop. “You know more about this stuff than me-“
“You’re a better investigator than I am,” said Dean, taking hold of Sam’s laptop. His eyes flickered over top of the screen and he smiled.
“You think that’s it?” asked Sam.
“I think we got it Sammy boy.”
One Month Later
“Well don’t you two look all cute with your awards,” you said. Sam rolled his eyes but Dean took it as an opportunity to gave you a big fat kiss.
“I am literally right here,” said Sam.
“That ain’t my problem,” said Dean. Sam smacked in him the back of the head after you’d broken apart and Dean flicked his ear back.
“Boys,” you said as the chief of the station walked over.
“Enjoying your party boys?” he asked.
“Yes sir,” they both responded, a small smile crossing the chief’s lips.
“Maybe this will be a reminder that working across departments can be a good thing going forward. I’d like you two to head up any joint task force efforts that may fall under either of your purviews,” he said, both boys nodding. “Enjoy yourselves.”
“Well,” said Dean after the chief had walked away. “I say we get Sammy a girl tonight to celebrate.”
“Yes!”
“No!” groaned Sam.
“Little hottie from the press office in the green dress over there has not been shy about eyeing you up and down,” said Dean. Sam spun his head around and rolled his eyes.
“That’s just Eileen guys. We’re friends.”
“Eileen! Sam wants to dance!” you called across the way as you pushed Sam over towards her.
“I’m gonna kill you!” muttered Sam, all smiles by the time Eileen was there.
“This is why I love you,” said Dean, kissing your temple and reaching behind you, trying to steal the last jalapeno popper off your plate.
“Thief,” you said, picking it up. You held it up to his mouth and he took a big bite, grinning after he’d swallowed. “You know...I know we said you’d move back home when this all settled down but we could...you know.”
“I think I’m sticking around home for a while if that’s alright with you,” said Dean. You grinned and he rested his head on your shoulder. “I kinda got this no nightmare streak going lately and I’d hate to mess with that.”
“More than alright with me, babe,” you said as you kissed the top of his head. “More than alright.”

Do I Wanna Know?
Pietro Maximoff X Reader
Summary: You and Pietro’s friendship could best be described as a relationship that never was, it was constant flirting that you both brushed off as just a very close friendship. A friendship so close that sometimes you flirt with others, so when feelings get hurt; dynamics are crushed. But those who are meant for each other will always come crawling back. Vaguely based off the song “Do I Wanna Know?” by the Arctic Monkeys.
Warnings: Slight angst, kissing, fluff, all that :)
Word Count: 2.3K
Tumblr media
It all started when you first joined the avengers, a few months after the battle of Sokovia. Tony had a last minute thing with Pepper and assigned Pietro Maximoff to show you around the compound, which he initially whined over. Not wanting to do anything more than stay in bed on his day off, he begged Wanda to take over for him. She agreed under the circumstance that he’d make dinner for a week.
Sitting on the couch watching whatever was on TV at the moment, Pietro munched on some chips, enjoying his day off to its fullest extent. He heard some chattering behind him and turned his head to see his sister Wanda and another woman with her head turned the other way, who he could only assume was the newest member to the team. Waving a small hello to his sister he turned back around and continued his program, but of course Wanda wouldn’t let him off that easy.
“Ahem,” Wanda said, clearing her throat as she now stood next to the couch Pietro sat on with the newest recruit, you.
“Y/n, this is my brother Pietro. Pietro, this is the newest addition to the Avengers, Y/n.” she said with a smile, mentally slapping her brother for being so lazy. Pietro gave you and Wanda a half-assed glance ready to wave you off, but he did a double take when he saw you. Choking slightly on his chips he stood up abruptly and brushed himself off, extending his hand out to yours.
You started to feel hot under his gaze as you gladly accepted his hand and shook it; he had a firm grasp that made you want to melt into the ground.
“So, what’s your thing printcessa?” He asked smoothly, slipping his hand out of yours, making you frown slightly as the loss of contact. But then you quirked your head to the side, not understanding his question.
“He means, what powers do you have?” Wanda interjected, clarifying his question.
“Oh you know, telekinesis, super strength, some healing abilities, the usual.” you joked
“Hey we could’ve really used you a few months ago during the battle of Sokovia. This asshole nearly got himself killed!” Wanda said, raising her eyebrows at her brother.
“Ahh sister you worry too much, I was fine!” Pietro insisted, waving her off.
“Sure you were. . . we’re going to finish this tour now okay?” Wanda said, turning around and getting ready to show you the rest of the compound. But of course Pietro had something to say about that.
“And take this gorgeous new Avenger away from me? You know Tony assigned me to show her around, right? So rude of you to just steal her away like that. . .” Pietro said, rushing to your side and taking your hand, pulling you along.
“I thought you wanted to-”
“Sorry! TV is too loud, I can’t hear you!” Pietro said running off with you, making you giggle.
The rest of the tour Pietro slipped in little compliments and flirty touches; in fact, the rest of your time there was practically the same. You had an innate attraction to Pietro, and he was drawn to you from the moment he laid eyes on you. But yet, nothing ever actually happened between the two of you, which quite frankly annoyed the hell out of the team. Having to constantly watch you two flirt and cuddle as if it was nothing was borderline ridiculous.
It’s been four months since you’ve joined the avengers and your tension with Pietro was higher than ever, and with another successful mission down Tony decided to host another one of his famous parties. You saw this as the perfect opportunity to look irresistible for Pietro, but when you walked out onto the dance floor in your sexiest dress and saw Pietro at the bar with some blonde bimbo caressing his muscles, and you damn near lost it.
Rationally, you had no right to be angry at all. You and Pietro weren’t an item, you never were. But seeing him in such close proximity to some girl who's name he probably didn’t even know practically made steam come out of your ears. You disregarded your fellow teammates saying hello to you as you entered the party and the compliments thrown your way as you made your way towards Pietro, ready to give him a piece of your mind.
But you were too late, no more than 10 feet away from Pietro the nasty blonde he was with pulled him in for a sloppy kiss. You watched in horror and pain as you felt your heart break into a million and one pieces. You rushed off to your room before any tears could spill from your eyes, staying there for the rest of the night as the party raged on, only imagining the worst in your head about Pietro and that bitch he was with.
What you didn’t see was Pietro promptly pushing the blonde away from him, and Wanda finding her brother soon after slapping him across the face.
“What the hell, Pietro?!” Wanda shouted at her brother, drawing attention from the others at the party.
“Suka! What was that for?!” He exclaimed, holding the left side of his face in pain.
“That was for kissing that girl when you know Y/n’s been pinning after you for months!” She yelled, not caring about the excess attention from the others.
“She doesn’t feel that way about me. We've been over this a thousand times Wanda!” He fired back, anger and hurt lacing his voice.
“Yes she does! Did you forget I can read minds?” She said rolling her eyes, a little red glowing in them. Pietro got quiet and turned away from his sister.
“You better go and apologize to her and tell her how you really feel before she changes her mind after what she just saw!” Wanda pointed out, causing her brother to rush off, leaving streaks of blue in his place.
You sat with your back pressed to your door as you sobbed quietly, jumping when you heard a knock behind you.
“Y/n?” You heard Pietro call out. You sighed and rolled your eyes.
“I don’t have any condoms Pietro, go ask Sam.” You said bitterly.
Standing on the other side of the door your words were like knives in Pietro’s chest; he wanted to respond and tell you how he really felt, but after your harsh comment he turned away and went back to his room. Wanda visited him when the party was over and he gave her the same bitter attitude you had given him hours ago.
“I don’t know what part of her head you looked into but she definitely doesn’t feel the same way, so thanks a lot.” Pietro said harshly, making Wanda leave without another word.
Things were a lot different in the compound after that night. You and Pietro were no longer lovey-dovey, now holding nothing but contempt towards one another. It changed the whole dynamic of the team, none of them knowing how to act around you two now, or even what happened.
It had been about three weeks since you and Pietro last spoke to each other, and here you were at 3am sitting on the couch crying while you ate ice straight out of the carton. You sat silently as the tears streamed down your face, jumping when you felt a hand on your shoulder. Turning around you saw a very tired looking Wanda.
“I’m sorry, did I wake you?” You asked quietly.
“No, but your thoughts did. I never knew someone’s thoughts could be so loud when they’re heartbroken.” Wanda said, sitting down next to you.
“Pfshh, I’m not heartbroken! What in God's name are you talking about?” You said casually, pushing your emotions back down as you set the container of ice cream down on the table in front of you.
“You know, he’s torn up too.” Wanda said, turning to face you.
“And you expect me to believe that why?” You asked, neither of you noticing the new presence that stood in the kitchen.
“Did both of you magically forget I can read minds?” She asked with a laugh, making you feel small.
“Okay well even if he did have feelings for me at one point there’s no way he still feels that way. If he did he wouldn’t have let that girl kiss him at the party,” you said bitterly.
“You have no idea how much he regrets that, and for the record that blonde kissed him. He pushed her off after you ran away.” Wanda explained, putting more hope than you’d cared to admit in your heart.
“He’ll come crawling back to you soon enough, I promise.” she said with a small laugh, patting your back as she got up and left you alone on the couch. Wondering if your feelings for Pietro flowed both ways.
A little more than a week had passed since that night as you were constantly tormented by the question, “Do I wanna know?” because if Pietro did feel the same way towards you at one point, how would the recent events change how he feels for you now?
However now was not the time to dwell on the question racking your head; now you were on a mission with the rest of the team getting some much needed intel from what you thought was an abandoned HYDRA base. But when gunfire erupted you immediately took cover and soon followed Steve’s orders to fall back and head to the quinjet. Running back you tripped and fell face first into the dirt. Getting up you winced as you looked around and saw the last person you’d want hurt.
“Pietro’s shot!” You scream into your comms as you crawled next to him as he laid up against a tree, falling in and out of consciousness. You started to cry worrying your powers wouldn’t be enough as you placed your hands over his wounds, mustering all of the power you could. You thought all hope was lost until you heard a loud gasp as Pietro grabbed onto you and held you close to his chest.
“It’s okay Pietro, I’m here, you’re alright,” you whispered as you started to feel very tired. He ran his fingers through your hair as he stared down at you, in awe of your abilities. You looked back at him with tired eyes.
“I’ll always come crawling back to you,” you said as sleep took over your body. Pietro took it upon himself to speed your sleeping figure back to the quinjet, setting you down as you snored softly. He admired you, but only for a minute as Wanda embraced him in a big hug from behind.
“You have got to stop making the sacrifice play, brother.” she said, more than relieved that he was okay.
“Now I just might. I wouldn’t want to put this beauty under so much stress again right?” He joked, motioning to your sleeping figure. Wanda smiled brightly at him.
“You better not mess this up again, otherwise I’m finding her a more suitable partner.” Wanda joked, punching her brother in the arm playfully.
“No one is more perfect for her than I.” Pietro said with a cocky tone. Wanda only sighed in response, not wanting to admit that he was right.
-
You woke up slowly in a dimly lit room; looking around you saw a familiar man with silver hair asleep in the corner of what you now recognized as the compound’s recovery room. You smiled contently as you used your telekinesis to bring the chair he slept in next to your bed. You reached out for his hand and gently ran your fingers over his knuckles, sighing tranquilly
Pietro slowly awoke as you just stared shamelessly at him.
“Dragosté!” Pietro exclaimed, now fully awake, jumping up and embracing you in a tight hug. He pulled away but kept his close distance, his hot breath fanning over your face as your eyes flickered from his eyes to his lips. A few more stolen moments passed by before Pietro closed the space in-between you two and pressed his soft lips to yours. Moving lazily against each other he slowly pulled away and rested his forehead on yours.
“I’m so sorry for everything, I should’ve seen it sooner.” he said sweetly, pressing another kiss to your cheek as you smiled.
“It’s okay, you’re here now and that’s all that matters.” you said, bringing your hand up to the side of his face, admiring his cobalt blue eyes. His eyes filled with the most love-struck look you’d ever seen as he pressed his lips back on yours, grinning from ear to ear.
You’d have some explaining to do to your other teammates in the morning when they’d inevitably find you both sleeping together in the cramped hospital bed though.

Next morning you walked into the kitchen to be surprised by the presence of that God, but looking much less like one would imagine a God would look like. He was sort of pathetic, in almost an adorable way. Had a childish look on his face, but seemed wiser than anyone on the compound. His tall silhouette hovering over the coffee machine, trying to serve himself a cup with his hands still cuffed, now tied on the front of his body. They probably changed it so he could sleep (Result of sentiment? So Thor wouldn’t trust him but he would still care? Sounds like a weird relationship). You walked over and helped him mindlessly, without saying anything, and served another two cups. With the steaming coffee burning the tips of your fingers, you finally sat by Bucky’s side on the long breakfast table, gave him his cup and joined his conversation.
“What do you mean?”, asked Peter, lowering his tone of voice.
“He’s just… a bad spine, you know? I don’t remember anything about the New York incident, and I’m sure I was around, somewhere”.
“Dude, you were all brainwashed”.
“Ah, right”.
“What are you talking about?”, you asked.
“Loki’s weird vibe. Why does he appear out of nowhere? Thor never said he had a brother, and he always talks about his family. Besides, he looks nothing like his brother”.
“You look nothing like my brother either, yet here we are. Maybe he’s adopted”, you pointed out to Peter. He wasn’t exactly your brother, but you two basically grew up together and made yourselves a family in the least conventional way possible. If anyone asked, he was your closest family. “But you mean Loki as in, you know, that handcuffed Nordic God over there?”.
“Yeah. That one. I’m surprised you didn’t hack into the web to know everything about him, or something like that”, Bucky mocked.
“Wow, I’m offended you thought I’d do something like that. Besides, you can’t have Asgardian information on a Midgardian web, I’d have to check Asgard’s internet and I’m pretty sure they don’t have one”.
“So you tried”.
“Of course I did, what do you take me for?”.
“Of course you did”.
You sipped through your coffee and glanced over Loki. He was actively trying to avoid any contact with anyone on the compound. Peter made a good point. He didn’t seem like he wanted to be there, and Tony was not one to trust blindly in the team. If his history was that he tried to take over the planet, why would he help you all out now? Was he being threatened? Held against his own will, a God? That didn’t seem possible, not even by Tony Stark.
“Alright”, said Tony as he made his way through the kitchen to refill his mug. He looked like he hadn’t slept all night, wearing long eyebags and his hoodie backwards. “You three ready for the mission? You’re leaving this noon”.
“Oh, so you’re on the super secret and dangerous mission, after all?" asked Peter, slightly offended.
“Yeah”.
“Why can't I go, then?” he complained as Tony rolled his eyes.
“It’s too dangerous for you, kid”.
“But y/n’s going”.
“Yeah, but y/n can stab you without blinking, and you cry if you step on an ant”.
“Hey, don’t diminish my little brother’s superpowers”, you defended him carelessly, and then added “but Stark’s right, you stay”.
“I was kidding, though, you wouldn’t be here if I didn’t trust you, kid”, he patted him in the back “but this mission will imply a certain... Darkness, maybe, that can only be found in these guys. That’s why I’m calling it the Dark Team, not the Softies team”.
“What do you mean ‘darkness’? I thought you chose us for our combat abilities”.
“Well… Not very legal ways to obtain not very legal objects, you know, and a bit of gray morale, anti heroes this, villains that…” he said ambiguously, and you three rolled your eyes. You swore Loki, who was watching silently from the other side of the room, did it too. “You see? That’s the attitude. Good, you’re already getting it”.
“Do I need to remind you of my current deal with the law, Stark?” asked Bucky.
“Don’t worry about it”, he cut him shortly “you won’t even be there. That’s why we have an illusioner in the team”. Bucky and Peter glanced at you, as to say ‘illusioner; you see what we mean?’.
“What about me? What darkness do you think I can provide?”, you asked with innocence in your eyes. Everyone laughed at you, even Loki, who didn’t even know you.
“Wow, so you actually see me as that kind of an outsider, don’t you?”.
“Not an outsider, but you certainly are mean”.
“Define mean”.
“When I first met you you punched me in the stomach to steal my knives”.
“Well, you shouldn’t have had knives in the first place, you know how I am. And I didn't even steal them, I was being defensive”.
“I’d describe you more as a paranoid”, added Sam, entering the room. He wasn’t listening to what they were talking about, yet he agreed.
“Wow, you all seem to have a very formed opinion on me. I’m flattered”.
“Our formed opinions are that you’re a savage, don’t be so flattered”.
“Hey, I worked hard for that title, thank you very much”.
“That’s exactly why you’re on the team, though,” added Tony, who was equally paranoid as you (if not even more).
“Fine. Point made”.
“There’s two people better at body combat than you, but not better at planning. You’re here for your strategies, kid, as you always have. You’ll be making the plans and directing the mission”.
“Wait, are you telling me I’m in charge?”, you asked in awe.
“Are you telling us you’re letting them in charge of the two of us? What kind of a parent are you, Stark?” scoffed Bucky sarcastically.
“You can handle them”.
“Handle us?” inquired Loki, finally talking.
“Parent?”, you added.
“Quit the jokes, and get working. You’re leaving this afternoon”.

Meeting and Dating Samuel ‘Rocky’ Douglas
Tumblr media
(My gif/there’s like no decent footage of ‘kick back’ online)(Requested by anonymous)
- You and Rocky meet when you’re young. You’d lived next door to the Douglas family your entire life so it was pretty much inevitable that you’d end up becoming friends with at least one of the boys growing up.
- Funnily enough, it wasn’t Samuel that you’d befriended, it was Jeffrey.
- You’d tried to weasel your way into all the boys lives; and succeeded in becoming a surrogate older sister to Tum Tum over the years, but it seemed as though Sam just …didn’t like you very much.
- Any time you were around him, he’d seemingly try to get away from you as quickly as possible, or distract himself with something so that he could barely acknowledge your presence. He’d always cut your conversations short or give you two word answers and any time you felt as though you were having a break through, he’d seem to realize that he was being friendly and close himself off yet again.
- But Jeffrey, or Colt, would usually pull you away from his older brother anyways, distracting you with some game or activity that he wanted to play/do before you could dwell on his brothers borderline rudeness.
- Colt had never understood why his brothers …approval; for lack of a better word, mattered so much to you and for a while, neither did you. But the older you got, the more you realized that you’d always had a bit of a crush on the boy whether you knew it or not.
- But you couldn’t tell Colt that. Instead, you had to tell him that you just didn’t want things to always be awkward when you joined him and his brothers on their little adventures; secretly sighing in relief as he accepted the answer.
- Unbeknownst to you, there was a reason for Rocky’s closed off attitude: he’d had a crush on you since elementary school and he’d, admittedly, never been very good with girls.
- So, while you were wondering why your best friends brother hated you, he was internally scolding himself for not being able to say more than two words to you before his knees felt like buckling beneath him.
- Considering how shy he was with you, things could have easily continued on like that for, well, forever. But then something changed.
- One morning, you arrived at the Douglas house and found yourself walking into a very tense atmosphere. You could tell that Colt was upset about something and given how quiet the rest of the table was, you assumed it had something to do with one of his siblings; assumedly Rocky from the way he was avoiding the boys occasional pointed looks.
- The minute Colt noticed you, he shot up out of his seat and pulled you out of the house with him, leaving you little time to meet the gaze of Rocky whose eyes immediately shot up to look at you.
- As you walked, you tried to pry some information out of the boy but it was pointless, he refused to answer any of your questions, opting to stay nearly silent or telling you that it “was nothing”; even though you knew better.
- It’s a whole week before things start to go back to normal but there’s still some tension between Rocky and Colt. Your dear pal Jeffrey, who once loved having his brothers tag along, now seems hesitant to allow his older brother to accompany you guys. …And here you thought things were awkward before.
- Another week goes by before you learn exactly what happened. You’re sitting at home when your mother calls you, telling you that you have a guest as you head to the front door. Standing in your foyer is Rocky, a sight you never thought you’d see, and the sheer surprise you feel upon seeing him makes you stop in your tracks.
- His eyes meet your frozen figure and he licks his lips, opening his mouth to say something before he shuts it again. A second passes before he manages to get out a “hi”, watching as you finally begin to walk towards him again.
- You give a quiet hello in response and a beat of silence passes between you before he asks if you can talk, letting you lead him outside after you nod.
- The two of you are quiet for a while before he turns and asks how you’ve been just as you’re about to say something to break the silence. You answer that you’re fine with a little laugh and you ask how he’s been before you ask the question that's really been on your mind.
“Seems like you and Colt have been fighting.”
“A little I guess.”
“Why’s that?”
“...Well uh …he found out something he isn’t too happy about.” You quirked an eyebrow up at his words and asked what it was.
“...That I …like...you.” He says slowly, as though he’s forcing himself to finally say the words.
- The phrase could mean a few things but you immediately know exactly what he’s confessing when he says them and a small smile finds it’s way onto your face.
“Yeah, you should never bring that sort of thing up to Colt.” You say, feeling an overwhelming urge to tease the boy just a little.
“Yeah I guess I found that out,” He laughs a little and you can hear the nervousness in it. “So, uh...” You hum questioningly and he continues. “What do you think?”
“Think about what?”
“About …about me liking you....”
“I think I like it,” You give him a smile. “I like you too Rocky.”
- The two of you have your first date at the beach. Colt and Tum Tum probably found out you were planning on going and just immediately went with you, forcing you to come up with ways to sneakily bond with each other during your borderline disastrous date. Regardless, you still enjoyed the day, even if you didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time alone.
- You share your first kiss when you arrive back home. Colt and Tum Tum had immediately gone inside while Rocky and you stayed behind to talk a little. He apologized for the brotherly ambush and you assured him you didn’t mind.
- He asked if you were sure and you laughed, nodding your head …then it just sort of happened. He leaned in and then you did and your lips met in a soft quick kiss before you pulled away and said a quiet goodbye.
- Colt may not have been too happy to spot his brother locking lips with his best friend but he got over it and gave his reluctant blessing, letting you accomplish your childhood dream of being with Samuel.
- There’s not a ton of pda in your relationship; mainly because his brothers are almost always nearby and he’s a little shy about that sort of thing. When there is pda, it’s usually pretty quick or on the friendlier appearing side of affection.
- His arm wrapped around your shoulder whenever you’re standing together.
- Sitting between his legs with his arms wrapped around you.
- Handholding.
- Tight hugs. He always scoops you up in one whenever he wins a game or match.
- Cheek kisses.
- Soft, almost featherlight kisses.
- Hair ruffling.
- The two of you usually cuddle snuggled into each other with his arm wrapped around your shoulders, although, if you’re going to be completely alone, he must admit that he does enjoy spooning quite a bit.
- Gushing over him whenever he wears his glasses, assuring him that you’re not making fun of him and that he really does look good in them.
- Holding and momentarily stealing his hats.
- Singing songs together/singing along to the radio.
- Teaching him about your interests and hobbies. He likes learning about them and trying them out whenever he can; even though he’s probably awful at them or knows he won’t like them.
- He likes looking at you whenever you aren't looking. You’ll catch him staring at you after you snap out of a daze or look away from whatever it was you were gazing at. He usually just shakes his head with a small smile whenever you ask him “what”.
- When you’re together, you’ll probably want to hang out somewhere outside or at your house; considering he shares a tiny room with both his brothers and you’ll never be completely left alone if you stay there.
- His brothers constantly interrupting the two of you.
- Both his brothers and occasionally his grandfather teasing him about you. He gets really shy about the whole thing and they love embarrassing him before you show up.
- He tends to just call you by your given name, though it’s very likely that he or one of his siblings/grandfather will come up with a nickname for you and he’ll use that a lot.
- Playing baseball; or all the other sports he plays, with him. He likes being able to teach you and watch you get all excited when you get better.
- Going to his games.
- Letting him teach you karate. He always shoots his brothers dirty and warning looks when they laugh at you.
- Motivating and cheering him on at everything he does.
- He looks back at you whenever he’s going to do something, making sure that you’re watching before he does something impressive. He likes showing off when you’re around.
- Taking walks in the woods together.
- Climbing and sitting in trees.
- Talking over the phone/tin can. He always has to call you to say goodnight.
- Getting visited whenever you’re sick. He comes to make sure you’re okay and keep you company; even if he gets a little sick himself.
- He’s always jumping to help you; even when you tell him to do the opposite or that you don’t need his help. It’s endearing yet annoying.
- Riding bikes together.
- Playing video games together; he either lets you win or tries to sabotage you depending on the day.
- Helping him cook and bake. You’re usually joined by Tum Tum who you have to watch very closely to ensure that the food actually gets made instead of consumed before it’s cooked.
- Getting taken to meet his grandfather or having Rocky introduce you to the man as his girlfriend after the two of you get together; at his brothers insistence.
- He occasionally likes to sneak up on you and tap your shoulder from behind to make you jump. You can’t even be mad at him, not when you turn and see the smile he has on.
- He hates seeing you upset and always asks a bunch of questions in an attempt to find out exactly what happened, making promises and trying his best to cheer you up while he does so.
- He’s pretty reasonable when it comes to jealousy so he doesn’t get jealous very often. On the off chance that he does, he’ll be patient but will tell the guy to back off if he doesn’t leave you alone; and if he’s obviously making you uncomfortable.
-  Speaking of telling guys to back off, he’s always ready to defend or protect you when necessary. He’ll also always go look for you when you disappear or are gone for longer than you should be, wanting to make sure you’re okay and that nothing happened.
- He has a habit of snapping when he’s embarrassed or mad so expect a snide comment or two. You’ll usually just say something along the lines of “ok geez” in response and a moment or two of silence will pass before the guilt gets to him and he sighs, beginning to explain himself and/or apologize.
- If you have a real fight, he’ll do whatever he can to make you forgive him. He always makes promises, even if he doesn’t exactly follow through on them; but he does have the best intentions regardless.
- He tells you that he loves you quite a bit; even though his brothers tease him for it. He just smiles at you and gives them a shove in response, not caring what they think.
- A guy who loves you through puberty is definitely a keeper so congratulations on finding your ninja, honey.

You walked to your parents’ room in the middle of the night, the house dark. It was probably around 2 but that didn't stop you from going to your dad, tugging on his arm.
“(Y/N)? What are you doing up, kiddo?” he asked softly, frowning as he turned the light on.
“What’s going on?” Mary sat up, looking at you cautiously.
“I had a bad dream, daddy. Can I sleep with you?” you wiped your eyes, yawning slightly as you continued to hold onto John’s hand.
“Of course you can, come on, let’s go to bed,” he lifted you up, wrapping his arms around you in a protective manner as he turned the lights off.
You continued holding onto his arm, falling asleep.
---
You shot up, hearing someone yelling as you quickly got out of bed, running to Dean.
“Dean, wake up!” you shook him slightly, as he looked at you, confused.
“Daddy’s yelling!” you said, holding his hand as the two of you ran out of your shared room, seeing a bright light coming out of Sam’s nursery.
“Daddy? What’s wrong?” you walked into the room, screaming as you saw the horrendous sight, your mother somehow pinned to the ceiling, blood dripping out of her stomach as the ceiling around her caught on fire.
“(Y/N)! (Y/N), take Sam and Dean out! Now!” he placed your six-month-old brother in your hand, as you held onto him tightly, holding Dean’s hand with your free hand.
You ran out of the house, watching flames coming out of the window.
“It’s gonna be okay, De,” you said softly.
You felt John’s arms wrap around the three of you, pulling you away to safety, watching your house envelop in flames.
---
“Again, (Y/N),” John handed you the gun, as you scratched your arm nervously, before picking it up.
You unloaded, then reloaded the gun, turning the safety off, then back on.
“38 seconds. You need to do it in under 15,” you nodded your head softly, listening to John.
“Yes, sir,” you replied, your voice low.
“I’m going to go out. Watch Sam and Dean,” before you could reply, he grabbed his jacket, slamming the door shut as you flinched slightly, before resting your head on your hands.
---
“Dean, can you help me out here?” you asked, rubbing your head.
“Sam doesn't listen to me either,” he shrugged. He flipped on the TV, watching some sort of cartoon as you groaned, turning back to Sam.
“Sam, you have to do your homework and you have to eat your dinner. Now,” you tried not to raise your voice, clearly annoyed by both of them.
“No, I don’t want to. I wanna watch TV with Dean,” he crossed his arms, frowning.
“After you do all your work,” you sighed.
“How come Dean doesn't have to do his work? Or eat his dinner?” Sam crossed his arms as you clenched your jaw, digging your nails into your palm.
I hate them both
“Dean already finished all his work! Sam, I’m serious!” you groaned.
Every day seemed to go like this. One or both of them would choose not to listen to you, getting you more irritated and stressed. You still had a huge amount of homework to do, half of which you could barely understand, and instead of doing it, you were trying to get Sam to listen. As usual.
“Dean didn’t do his homework!” Sam screamed as you winced, his shouting giving you a headache.
“He’s lying! I did it!” Dean shot up, pointing his finger at Sam.
Before you could say anything, both brothers started screaming at each other, leaving you with a headache.
“Enough!” you turned off the TV, pulling Dean to the table.
“Both of you shut up and do your homework! Now!” you yelled.
Sam sniffled, immediately looking down.
Great, now he’s crying
“Dude, you made him cry,” Dean looked up at you.
“Shut up, Dean. Do your work,” you rolled your eyes, before turning to Sam.
“You’re mean,” Sam said, his voice low.
“And you're a brat. Here’s a pencil,” you handed it to him, watching as the two of them tended to their homework.
---
“Dad,” you started softly.
He simply glared at you, before looking back at the road.
The two of you rode back to the hotel, where Sam and Dean were.
“Dad, I’m sorry,” you started.
“Shut up, (Y/N),” he snapped.
He left for a hunt, again. Leaving you with Sam and Dean, again. Leaving you with barely enough money to feed one of you, let alone three. You saw your only option was to steal. You didn't like it but you had no choice. Sam began to come down with a fever, and he needed medicine.
“You didn't leave us with… Sam was sick,” your voice broke as your heart began to race out of fear for what was going to happen to you.
“He’s fine now,” you looked at John nervously before running your fingers through your hair.
The rest of the ride remained silent, before approaching the hotel room. It was empty.
You turned to John, your eyes widening as you contained your panic.
You weren't allowed to be weak in front of John.
“They’re at Bobby’s. You’re with me for the week,” he threw his bag onto the floor as you flinched, trying your hardest to maintain this weekend.
You already knew that the worst was yet to come.
---
“Hey, are you okay?” your head shot up, as you opened your eyes, looking at Dean.
“No, I mean, yeah, I’m fine, sorry,” you shook your head, smiling softly at your younger brother.
“Sam’s passed out. Do you wanna watch a movie or something?” he asked, sitting next to you on the floor.
Dean graduated high school, spending more and more time with you and John, seeing what John does to you. You prayed that he wouldn't witness any of it but lately, none of your prayers seemed to help anything. You currently sat there with a black eye, saying it was from a hunt, but Dean knew otherwise.
“No, it’s fine,” you sighed, keeping your voice down.
The two of you sat in the dark, as Dean rested his head on your shoulder.
“I’m sorry for being such a bitch when I was younger,” he said softly.
“Oh, don't be. If it makes you feel any better, Sam was worse,” you laughed softly.
“I can't believe you dealt with us,” he shook his head.
“Well, why wouldn't I? You’re still my brother. Come on, you should get to bed,” you said.
“Are you going to sleep?” he asked.
“No, I need to watch over you guys,” you shook your head.
“That’s ridiculous. I’m not going to sleep till you do,” he crossed his arms.
“Well then, looks like you’re not getting any sleep tonight,” you turned, looking at him.
“Then so be it,” he continued to rest his head on your arm, as you scoffed before you continued to stare at the door.
You could feel Dean falling asleep, hearing him snoring. You pressed your lips against his forehead, stroking his hand softly.
---
“Oh my god!” you shot up in the bed, clenching your jaw as you held in your screams, feeling pain emit throughout your body.
“(Y/N)!” Sam and Dean ran to you, as you winced before they backed away.
“What happened?” you whispered.
Your arm was wrapped up in bandages, a sling on your shoulder. Your forehead was covered in bandages, scratches all over your body.
“What do you remember?” Dean asked.
You looked up at them, seeing tears in their eyes.
“The demon… yellow eyes… where’s Dad?” you asked softly.
“He sold his soul for Dean,” Sam whispered a reply.
Your eyes watered as you felt a shiver over your body.
You sniffled, wiping your tears as you looked at Dean.
“I-It’s gonna be okay,” you said softly, wrapping your arm around Sam and Dean.
“It's gonna be okay.”
---
“(Y/N), it’s 3 AM,” Bobby walked into his study room, sitting down in front of you.
The three of you finished a hunt nearby, crashing at Bobby’s for the night.
He offered you a beer, as you took it from him.
“Do you have anything to say, kid?” he asked you.
“No, I want to sit here and drink this beer in silence, please,” you sighed.
“What is it with you Winchesters never showing any damn emotion?” he raised his voice slightly as you sighed.
You ran your fingers through your hair, resting your arm on the table.
“Why won’t you go to bed?” he asked.
“Bye, Bobby,” you pushed out of your seat, grabbing your jacket.
“The hell do you think you're doing, young lady?” he immediately crossed his arms, standing in front of the door.
“I’m going out. I’ll see you in the morning,” you walked past him, leaving his house.
---
You sat in the driver’s seat, hearing Dean yelling at you.
“I don’t…” you hiccupped.
“I don’t know why you’re so mad,” you shrugged, laying back in the seat.
“You’re not driving, you’re drunk. Scoot over,” Dean crossed his arms.
“I’m not drunk, you’re drunk. And bossy,” you laughed, nearly falling off your seat as Dean forcibly pushed out over, sitting in the driver’s seat.
“It’s been a month of this crap. When was the last time you even slept?” Dean asked.
“I don’t like to sleep,” you looked out the window, watching all the trees passing by.
Something about the trees seemed to mesmerize you, as you yawned, blinking your eyes.
“Why don’t you like to sleep?” Dean asked.
Within 20 seconds, you fell onto Dean as he groaned, looking at you completely passed out.
“(Y/N),” Dean said, pushing you off of him.
“(Y/N),” he repeated.
Your head fell against the window, as Dean listened to your breathing, making sure you didn't just die on him.
It had been a month of that. Ever since John died, you barely slept, spending all your time on either hunts or in a stranger’s bed, completely drunk.
Dean followed you, stopping whatever person was hitting on you and took your joke, slightly disappointed, slightly feeling pity for you.
Something happened to make you like this, and all he wanted was you back to normal.
His face softened, looking at your shaking figure. He took his jacket off, laying it on you before continuing to look forward at the road.
---
“We need to talk,” Dean sat at the edge of your bed, as you sat up, rubbing your head.
He handed you a glass of water and some aspirin. You silently thanked him, before clearing your throat.
“What's the problem?” you asked.
“You,” he replied.
“Excuse me?” you raised an eyebrow.
“One month. Since Dad died. Since you changed completely. You go out every night when we’re not hunting, don’t try to lie to me and tell me that you’re getting sleep because I know damn well that you’re not. We’re worried about you and we want our sister. We lost Dad, we don’t want to lose you too,” your eyes watered slightly as you looked at Dean.
You knew he was right. You felt shame immediately, knowing that John was looking at you, disappointed. From above or below. You weren't even taking care of Sam and Dean.
“I’m sorry,” you replied.
“I don’t want an apology. I want you back to normal,” you ran your fingers through your hair, blinking back your tears as you sniffled.
Just tell him, it’ll have to come out sooner or later
“I’ve just been… I’ve been having nightmares about Dad,” you sniffled.
His face softened, as he scooted closer to you.
“Why didn't you tell me?” he asked softly.
“It’s not your problem to worry about,” you rested your head on your lap.
“Not my problem? (Y/N),” he started.
“You don’t understand, Dean. Please, just go,” you closed your eyes, feeling a tear streaming down your cheek.
He wrapped his arms around you tightly, as you held him.
“Dad’s gone. H-He’s dead. He can’t hurt you anymore, you don’t have to keep putting up a shield and blocking out everyone and everything,” you held back your cries as you buried yourself into Dean’s arms.
“I know,” you whispered.
“He can’t do anything to you ever again,” Dean’s voice was shaky, you could feel his tears.
“I’m sorry, Dean,” you cried softly.
“You have nothing to be sorry for. I-I’m sorry I wasn't here for you sooner,” you stroked his cheek softly, sniffling as you smiled at him softly.
“I love you, kiddo,” you said.
“I love you too, (Y/N/N),” he replied, laying down next to you.
“Sam’s out doing nerdy stuff with Bobby. What do you say to a movie or two?” he looked up at you.
“Yeah, sure,” you stroked his hair softly, turning the TV on.

Just passed on my tl that post about Sam/satin/Sansa and that that anti reblogged your post to add that quote about willowy creatures 😭 and I have to remind myself that this is the same fandom who reads jon saying that only a monster would give a child to the flames something like that, followed by a daniela chapter where her dragon BURNS A CHILD and says “if they are monsters so am I” and still manages to believe jon will love this girl. But a willowy creature? Never.
Hello Anon,
This post? The ‘willowy creature’ quote was added to the original post (@istumpysk), they missed my addition I think...
They always use that quote to claim “Jon loves warrior women and ‘consequently’ he hates ladies.” That’s their "clever logic"... LOL
I wrote about the ‘willowy creature’ issue in this post:
Val
Repeat after me: Val is not a warrior woman. Again: Val is not a warrior woman. One more time: Val is not a warrior woman. If you don’t believe me, then read this:
However, in my own defense, I should note that Dalla was not a “warrior woman” per se. She was from a warrior culture, yes; one that gave women the right, but not the obligation, to be fighters. Ygritte was a warrior woman, as was (most conspicuously) the fearsome Harma Dogshead. Dalla and Val were not.
[Source]
But you may say, ¿What about the “the warrior princess and the willowy creature that only brushes her hair” quote?
Well, as GRRM has stated many times, all his POVS are “Unreliable Narrators”. Being from a “warrior culture” doesn’t make you automatically a “warrior woman”.  But here is Jon Snow “deciding” that Val was a “warrior princess”. Once again, the contrast, the dichotomy in one single person: ¿A warrior like Arya, a princess like Sansa?  Not that Arya has ever fought in a war, but you get my point.  And Sansa was created following the princess archetype.
I will show you one of my favorite Jon’s passages that will serve us to read “the warrior princess and the willowy creature that only brushes her hair” line with a better and more revealing light:
I call this passage the “Jon -It’s nothing special- Snow”.  Or as we say in Spanish when we can’t get what we really want: “Al cabo que ni quería”, that can be translated as “I didn’t even want it anyway”.  Let’s see:
"Oh, I learn things everywhere I go.” The little man gestured up at the Wall with a gnarled black walking stick. “As I was saying … why is it that when one man builds a wall, the next man immediately needs to know what’s on the other side?” He cocked his head and looked at Jon with his curious mismatched eyes. “You do want to know what’s on the other side, don’t you?”
“It’s nothing special,” Jon said. He wanted to ride with Benjen Stark on his rangings, deep into the mysteries of the haunted forest, wanted to fight Mance Rayder’s wildlings and ward the realm against the Others, but it was better not to speak of the things you wanted. “The rangers say it’s just woods and mountains and frozen lakes, with lots of snow and ice.”
—A Game of Thrones - Jon III
I mean… COME ON!  This is one of the most telling passages to know, to really know Jon’s true nature, and it’s very, very similar to the quote about “the warrior princess and the willowy creature that only brushes her hair”:
They are all convinced she is a princess. Val looked the part and rode as if she had been born on horseback. A warrior princess, he decided, not some willowy creature who sits up in a tower, brushing her hair and waiting for some knight to rescue her.
—A Dance with Dragons - Jon XI
“Some willowy creature who sits up in a tower, brushing her hair and waiting for some knight to rescue her.”  Nah, it’s nothing special, I didn’t even want it anyway, not for me, no.
Do I have to say more???
Actually, yes, I have.
Jon Snow does really want a lady.  Jon Snow does really want to be a knight and rescue a maiden.  Jon Snow does really want a lady to love and be loved back by her.  Here some evidence:
Jon Snow wished that his mother were a highborn lady: “Not my mother, Jon thought stubbornly. He knew nothing of his mother; Eddard Stark would not talk of her. Yet he dreamed of her at times, so often that he could almost see her face. In his dreams, she was beautiful, and highborn, and her eyes were kind.”
Jon Snow wanted to be a hero like the Prince Aemon Dragonknight.  The same Prince Aemon that jousted in a tourney, won it, and crowned his sister and lady love “Queen of Love and Beauty”, something that is straight out from the courtly love book: “The Dragonknight once won a tourney as the Knight of Tears, so he could name his sister the queen of love and beauty in place of the king’s mistress”.
Jon Snow tried to comfort Gilly with courtesy: “Gilly, he called me. For the gillyflower.”  “That’s pretty.” He remembered Sansa telling him once that he should say that whenever a lady told him her name. He could not help the girl, but perhaps the courtesy would please her”.
Jon Snow put Ghost between Ygritte and him and remembers that knights put their swords between their ladies and themselves, something that is straight out from the courtly love book: “After that he had taken to using Ghost to keep her away. Old Nan used to tell stories about knights and their ladies who would sleep in a single bed with a blade between them for honor’s sake, but he thought this must be the first time where a direwolf took the place of the sword”.
Jon Snow imagined romancing Ygritte as if she were a lady: “If I could show her Winterfell … give her a flower from the glass gardens, feast her in the Great Hall, and show her the stone kings on their thrones. We could bathe in the hot pools, and love beneath the heart tree while the old gods watched over us”.
Jon Snow wished for a domestic life in Winterfell, with his wife and children: I would need to steal her if I wanted her love, but she might give me children. I might someday hold a son of my own blood in my arms. […] I could name him Robb. Val would want to keep her sister’s son, but we could foster him at Winterfell, and Gilly’s boy as well. […] Mance’s son and Craster’s would grow up brothers, as I once did with Robb. He wanted it, Jon knew then. He wanted it as much as he had ever wanted anything. I have always wanted it, he thought, guiltily”.
Jon is a romantic that called his mare “sweet lady”.
Jon Snow closer friends in the Night’s Watch are Samwell Tarly and satin, they are literally male!Sansas.
Jon remembers fondly Sansa’s more feminine and ladylike traits: her romantic nature, her courtesies, her singing.
It’s also worth to mention that, despite Val’s beauty and physical attractiveness, Jon Snow, once again, appreciates her being maternal and singing to Gilly’s son, but was turned off by Val saying she would kill Princess Shireen:
“I have heard you singing to him.”
“I was singing to myself. Am I to blame if he listens?” A faint smile brushed her lips. “It makes him laugh. Oh, very well. He is a sweet little monster.”
“Monster?”
—A Dance with Dragons - Jon VIII
Once outside and well away from the queen’s men, Val gave vent to her wroth. “You lied about her beard. That one has more hair on her chin than I have between my legs. And the daughter … her face …”
“Greyscale.”
“The grey death is what we call it.”
“It is not always mortal in children.”
“North of the Wall it is. Hemlock is a sure cure, but a pillow or a blade will work as well. If I had given birth to that poor child, I would have given her the gift of mercy long ago.”
This was a Val that Jon had never seen before. “Princess Shireen is the queen’s only child.”
“I pity both of them. The child is not clean.”
—A Dance with Dragons - Jon XI
Wait a minute! Val was “singing to herself” like Jon’s memory of Sansa “singing to herself” while brushing out Lady’s coat???
Where did Jon get this idea of “some willowy creature that only brushes her hair” from???  It could be from his half sister Sansa, a literal princess, now trapped in a tower, that always brushed her hair and even brushed out her direwolf’s fur???
“She had brushed out her long auburn hair until it shone” —Sansa
“Her thick auburn hair had been brushed until it shone.” —Eddard
I often sent away her maid so I could brush her hair myself. —Catelyn
He thought […] Of Sansa, brushing out Lady’s coat and singing to herself. —Jon
And I also suspect that when Jon said this about Val:
Then Ghost emerged from between two trees, with Val beside him.
They look as though they belong together. Val was clad all in white; white woolen breeches tucked into high boots of bleached white leather, white bearskin cloak pinned at the shoulder with a carved weirwood face, white tunic with bone fastenings. Her breath was white as well … but her eyes were blue, her long braid the color of dark honey, her cheeks flushed red from the cold. It had been a long while since Jon Snow had seen a sight so lovely.
—A Dance with Dragons - Jon XI
He was remembering another pretty girl, princess like, next to a direwolf, looking as though they belong together.
A young beautiful girl, that everyone considers a princess, next to a direwolf???
Val is a beautiful young woman, Sansa is a beautiful young maiden.
Val has long blonde hair the color of dark honey which she wears in a braid. Val actually take care of her hair, enough to braid it, like Sansa that always brushes it. And if you google “dark honey” hair color you will find a variety of reddish brown (auburn) and reddish blonde hair colors.
Val has high sharp cheekbones, like Sansa.
Val’s eyes are pale grey or blue.  Again the grey/blue eyes pattern…
Val is slender with a full bosom, like Sansa.
So?
Then Ghost emerged from between two trees, with Val beside him. […] It had been a long while since Jon Snow had seen a sight so lovely.
Of Sansa, brushing out Lady’s coat and singing to herself.
Think about it!

Sick!Avengers x Reader
A/N: I wanted to do something for everyone that's following me because I see that a whole bunch of people are following me and, it means a whole lot! So, here is my little project for everyone! I'll be including; Thor, Loki [cause why not :)], Steve, Bucky, Bruce, Natasha, Peter, and Sam!
 -Sick Thor -
+ When Thor's sick, he thinks he's dying, and he needs constant attention.
+ This man is unaccustomed to getting sick, so he probably thinks he's dying.
+He won't want you near him, so it will take you a few hours to convince him to let you help him.
+ When he finally caves, you bring him soup and have him sit up so you can feed him.
+ Thor protests against this.
+ "The God of Thunder does not need any help to eat soup,"
+ You still feed him the soup.
+ Once he's feed, and you set the bowl aside, you're instantly in his bed.
+ You coddle him in any way you can; running your hands through his hair, massaging his shoulders, peppering kisses on his face.
+ He protests again, but once you assure him that you aren't moving from your spot, he quickly shuts up.
+ If you play with his hair for too long, it will knock Thor out, and well, sick Thor sleeps for hours on end.
+ You can't help but take pictures of the sleepy God.
+ Once you're sleepy enough, you join him in the realm of the unconscious
- Sick Loki -
+ Unlike his brother, Loki will demand that you take care of him, but in his own 'nice' way of asking.
+ He likes being pampered by his s/o, it makes the sickly God secretly happy whenever he does get sick from time to time because he knows you will pamper him to the best of your extent.
+ Loki however, will insist that you don't kiss him on the lips so the risk of you also getting sick will lessen.
+ To be honest, you won't be leaving his side for the entire time he's sick unless it's a bathroom break.
+ Is either of you hungry? Loki will magick some food for you. Do you want to watch some TV? He'll flick it on to your favorite show.
+ The truth is, he just wants you to hold him until he gets better, he thrives in all the attention you give him.
+ He does understand if you need a break from his clingy ass, but once you're back in his bed, you better bet that he's going to be holding onto you.
+ If you get sick because of him, Loki is going to make sure that you 1000% more attention than you gave him, and that seems like it'd be hard to beat, but not for Loki.
-- Sick Steve -
+ Thanks to that super-soldier serum, Steve hardly ever gets sick.
+ But when he does, it doesn't take long for him to get better.
+ When you insist that you take care of him, Steve is going to protest.
+ "[Y/n], I'll only be sick for a day or two, I'll be fine, plus, I don't want you to get sick too."
+ He caves when you won't move from his room, and he's too weak [funny, isn't it, picture a Captain American who can't even get out of bed because of how sickly he is] to try to get you out of his room.
+ He won't let you cuddle him for a few minutes until you pout enough that his heart tugs and he opens his arms for you to climb in next to him.
+ Honestly, it's just going to be cuddles, cuddles, cuddles until Steve gets better.
+ He promises once he gets better that you're going to get a special breakfast in bed for taking care of him.
+ What can I say, Steve is a gentleman, and he wants to show you that he's grateful for you.
+ When Steve falls into a deep sleep, you can't help but 'awe' at how cute he is.
+ Despite his pale face, and the sickly red tint to his cheeks, he's still as adorable as ever.
+ After a day or two of lots of sleep and soup, Steve is good as new, and oh boy, that breakfast in bed was worth getting sick from him.
- Bucky - + I see Bucky as wanting to be babied when he gets sick.
+ Honestly, this poor baby has been through so much, that when he's in such a helpless state, he only wants to be held by you.
+ Like Steve, Bucky doesn't tend to get sick, so when he does, make the best of it, because it's a side of him you won't get to see often.
+ He's going to be in such a sickly state, that he's going to be a bit hazy, so he's going to be telling you how much he's grateful and just how much he loves you /a lot/.
+ "[Y/n]?" "Yes?" "Did I tell you how much I love you?" "Yes, many times now babe."
+ Honestly, this is the only time that Bucky acts his age.
+ He's an "old man", and when he's sick, he really does act like it.
+ You're going to fetch everything and anything he needs.
+ Food, TV, a magazine, water, ibuprofen, basically everything.
+ When he finally gets better, and if you get sick, he will feel so bad.
+ This man will apologize again and again.
+ You will laugh and insist it's okay, and tell him that he can make it up if he takes care of you.
+ And, oh boy, does he.
- Bruce -
+ Bruce is going to be the toughest to convince to let you into his room when he's sick.
+ He gets sick now and then, but he is used to it.
+ He doesn't want to get you hurt, he is just so worried about hurting you.
+ He doesn't want to accidentally turn into the "other guy" because when he's sick, he has a looser hold on turning into Hulk.
+ It does take a while, but you finally convince him-
+ "[Y/n]- if I turn into him-" "Bruce, you aren't going to."
+ You'll read to him, as you cuddle up to him.
+ It helps him fall asleep.
+ When he falls asleep, you make food for him, as he probably hasn't eaten the entire he's been sick.
+ Bruce will make you shower after every day that you spend with him when he's sick, just to make sure that you can wash his sick germs off of you.
+ He won't let you sleep with him, that's where he'll put his foot down.
+ Not because he doesn't love you or trust you enough, but because he doesn't want you to catch whatever he's got.
+ When he gets over his sickness, he will tell you how grateful he is, with flowers, chocolates, or anything he can muster/think of.
- Natasha -
+ Natasha is a lot more laid back when she's sick.
+ She has no problem feeding herself, sleeping all day, watching movies all-day-
+ Hell, she sees a vacation from work.
+ However, she'll tell the other Avengers and Fury that you won't be working until she's better again.
+ Again, she just wants an excuse for you and her to spend some quality time together.
+ She's not clingy when she's sick, but if you want to cuddle and watch stupid rom-coms and laugh at them with her, she is very down for that.
+ Natasha is, again, going to be a lot less low strung than the others. She says if you get sick then she'll take care of you-
+ Sleeping with a sick Natasha is a fun thing in and of itself.
+ I see her getting cold when she gets sick so be prepared for her to either, hog all the blankets or, have to steal all the blankets in the Stark Tower.
+ When she's all better, she's going to plan something romantic, like a date, something small to show how much she loves you
- Peter -
+ Peter's going to want you over when he's sick, and well, could you say no to him?
+ He won't force you to stay, but he will ask if you want to sleepover.
+ Aunt May is fine with it too, she's just glad that she won't have to take care of + Peter full time, and if you don't mind, she'll even have you bring Peter's favorite fast food over.
+ Peter's clingy when he's sick.
+ He only wants to be held or hold you.
+ When he's sick, and thanks to his spidey senses, and his superpower, he doesn't get sick that often, he sleeps, a lot.
+ Like this boy will sleep all day.
+ Not that you don't mind, you got a free day off of school/work just to take care of him and that's what you're going to do.
+ You'll probably get sick, and Peter will return the favor in a heartbeat.
+ He'll get you anything you want because he loves you that much.
- Sam -
[I wanted to include him, I don't see too many fanfics for Sam :( ] + When Sam's sick, he's a lot like Bruce.
+ “Babe, it's not a big deal, just give me a day and I can get over this cold." "Sam- for heaven's sake let me take care of you-"
+ It'll take you a good hour or two of begging for him to finally cave.
+ He's not much different from when he's sick and from when he's not sick.
+Sam does get hungry though, really hungry.
+ I mean, he's laying down all day.
+ He will beg that you go get his favorite food for him.
+When you do, he'll give you a slick, snotty kiss on the cheek.
+ [It's a real mystery on how you got sick-]
+ Bucky is going to pop in just to tease him, and Sam loses his shit.
+ You have to kick Bucky out, for everyone's sanity.
+ Sam gets over his sickness, as promised, really quickly.
+ He does feel bad but not too bad that he got you sick.
+ "I told you so."

Cas using Enochian pick-up lines on oblivious Dean. Dean doesn't get them, Cas feels rejected each time, and Sammy is done with it all! Can I have that fic, pretty please?
ah, this has been sitting here for a WHILE, so i’m sorry that i’m trash
lost in translation
---
It begins when Dean is pathetically trying to impress his crush.
Or at least that would be Sam’s take, if Dean cared enough to ask him.
Dean would rather say that it began with a simple misunderstanding, one which could happen to anyone.
He doesn’t ask Cas’ opinion of the situation (and Cas would say that’s the whole crux of the problem).
Whoever has the correct perspective, no one would argue about the beginning of the affair. It starts one afternoon when Dean is contemplating switching Sam’s creamer with buttermilk, just for a break in the monotony. Cas is with him in the library, his customary suit and coat exchanged for a hoodie and a comfortable looking pair of jeans which Dean suspects used to belong to him (there’s something vaguely familiar about that hole in the knee, and it wouldn’t be the first time Cas has pilfered his room for clothing; several of Dean’s shirts have ended up upon the angel’s body. Cas always seems perplexed when Dean calls him on his thievery, plucking at the shirt with faint confusion--Oh this? I found this down in the laundry room a few days ago and thought it looked familiar, do you want it back? And the question is phrased so forlornly that Dean can’t help but allow Cas to steal another article of clothing out from under his very nose.). Cas dresses down these days. And slouches. Right now, his chin is in danger of disappearing into his chest. The sight delights Dean. There for a while, he hadn’t been sure Cas was capable of relaxing.
It’s an overwhelmingly quiet afternoon. It’s nice, because Dean loves to spend time with Cas when there’s no imminent blood or monsters on their horizons, but it’s also boring. Dean sneaks a glance at Cas over the top of his book. Cas seems perfectly content to sit all day reading some godawful thick, leather bound tome. Dean finds himself less than content, but he doesn’t want to leave Cas. He sighs, shifting in his seat as he pretends to read. After a few more minutes, he sighs again, this time with a little more spite in the sound.
(Dean’s about three seconds away from kicking his feet and whining I’m bored, but Cas doesn’t need to know that.)
Cas mutters under his breath. Dean recognizes the guttural syllables of Enochian, which is Cas’ go-to language for when he’s saying something hateful and he doesn’t want to get called out on it. Tough luck for him, though, because Dean’s heard one of those words enough to parse its meaning.
“Did you just call me stupid?” he demands, slapping his book down on the arm of the chair.
Castiel looks at him, his eyes wide with surprise. “You...understood that?” he asks. “You understand Enochian?”
Not in the slightest, is what Dean should say. He understands one word, and that’s only because Cas uses it enough as an insult that it managed to stick in his mind. But something that looks like fondness, and admiration, and other nice adjectives which Dean would like Cas to apply to him, shines at the edges of Cas’ eyes. So he rolls his eyes a little bit (the audacity of Cas! Asking him if he bothered to study something which was not strictly required!) and scoffs, “Uh, kind of hard not to at this point, you know, what with...” He waves his hand at Cas, hoping that the vagueness of the gesture will cover a multitude of sins.
And really, he should come clean. If the past fifteen years have taught him anything, it’s that nothing good comes from lying to your nearest and dearest. But this is just a little white lie. Like when he was sixteen and he told Brandy Fletcher he could play a rocking drum solo, because he wanted to impress her and there was no way he would ever be called upon to perform such a task. This is just a little fib, made so that Cas doesn’t think he’s a fucking idiot.
Plus, there’s something which looks horribly similar to gratitude shining in Cas’ eyes. The emotion brims over until those baby blues can hardly contain it, and Cas looks so goddamned happy. Dean’s not a monster. He’s not going to take that away from Cas just so he can come clean with a Gotcha! moment.
Cas bites at his lower lip, looking uncommonly shy. Worry starts to stir in Dean’s gut, which is only compounded when Cas says something else in soft yet clear Enochian. As the new phrase doesn’t have the word stupid anywhere in it, Dean doesn’t have the slightest idea of what Cas is saying. The guilt squirming in his stomach gets worse when Cas looks at him, with gentle anticipation, as though he’s expecting a reply. Dean does what humans have been doing since the beginning of time when confronted with a language they don’t understand and smiles, wide and sunny, at Cas. Cas’ forehead creases but he returns the gesture. His eyes are still brimming over with emotion and the sight does something to Dean.
Dean begins to suspect that he may have started something which he is not equipped to finish.
---
After that, things get a little weird. Considering Dean’s general life, that’s saying something.
Dean catches Cas looking at him more, like Cas is having a one-man staring contest with the side of his face. Cas staring at him is nothing to write home about, but his looks have gained new intensity. It makes Dean’s innards squirm with worry as well as something deeper. He’s not willing to examine that feeling any closer, though it is pleasant.
As if the soulful looks weren’t bad enough, there’s also the thoughtful slant of Cas’ eyes to worry about. Every time he looks at Dean, he looks like he’s working himself up to something momentous. Since momentous decrees from Cas usually come hand in hand with world-ending events and revelations, Dean thinks he can forgiven for dodging Cas’ presence.
It does him no good: the bunker, for all its space, is only so large in the end, and Cas was once a heavenly messenger who has the patience of millennia. Add that to the fact that Dean needs to eat at least twice a day, and the game of Cornering Dean becomes a game of cards, in which the deck is stacked firmly in Cas’ favor.
Dean sneaks into the kitchen sometime between midnight and two am. If Sam caught him, then he would get a talking-to about the most appropriate times to eat, better digestive function, and the ravages of heartburn in a man his age, but it’s not his brother sitting at the table when Dean flicks on the light.
It’s Cas, who blinks owlishly at him, before his face splits into his brightest smile.
(Cas’ brightest smile is an awkward, crooked little thing. On a regular human being it would be considered unbecoming. On Cas, it’s a thing of glory.)
“Dean,” Cas greets him. Hearing his voice in that low, rough voice never fails to send a little shiver down his spine, and today is no different. “This is an odd time for a snack.”
“Yeah,” Dean says, a little lamely. The shock of finding Cas in the kitchen has kind of killed his appetite, but it’s not like he can turn around and leave. “Just, you know, had a craving. Why were you here?”
Cas looks around the kitchen, his mouth pursed. “I like it here. It’s peaceful.”
Dean looks at him, waiting for the punchline. “You were sitting in the dark, dude.”
“Oh. Well, I don’t need lights to see in the dark,” Cas says, as though the knowledge that his best friend has some freaky see in the dark cat eye nonsense going on with him isn’t the weirdest thing Dean’s heard all day.
“Great.” Dean opens the fridge and pulls out a container at random. He spares one second to hope that Sam got rid of all the moldy food before he samples the contents. “Well, I think I’m going back to my room now.”
He wants to get out of here, not so much because he doesn’t want to talk to Cas (he has no problem with late-night chats with Cas, it’s just that he would prefer such chats take place in his room, preferably in his bed, preferably while both participants were significantly less dressed), but because Cas is starting to get that look again, like he’s getting ready to drop an atomic bomb’s worth of shit on Dean in the middle of the kitchen.
“Dean.” Cas stands up. He twists his fingers together before he realizes what he’s doing, and then places them flat against his thighs. He takes a deep breath. Before Dean can stop him, Cas opens his mouth.
Low, rolling syllables flow through the kitchen, the harsh notations of Enochian softened by Cas’ voice. There’s a question in Cas’ eyes, and Dean would answer it, if he only knew what Cas was asking.
The kitchen falls into silence. Dean gets the distinct impression that walking away is not the appropriate reaction. If only he knew what the appropriate reaction was.
He settles for plastering a fake ass smile on his face and loosing a brittle laugh which threatens to shatter the lighting fixtures. The corners of his mouth hurt from the wideness of his smile, but not even the small twinge of pain can take away from the brief flash of hurt in Cas’ eyes.
“Yeah. You bet.” Dean barely restrains himself from giving Cas a big thumbs up.
Cas’ face, if possible, turns even more disconsolate. Dean’s stomach twists at the sight.
This would be the correct moment to confess. Cas, I don’t have the faintest idea what you said, but I’d really like it if you could say it again in English, so that I could maybe comment on it. Sorry I’m such a jackass.
Dean does not confess. He reaches out and claps Cas on the shoulder, almost buckling Cas’ knees under the friendly contact. Dean almost stops, but he continues to his room, trying to erase the memory of Cas’ stricken face.
---
It gets worse.
Cas says something in Enochian to him the next morning, a tiny, hopeful smile darting across his face. Dean gives him a weak smile in return and tries not to focus on the longing, almost desperate tone of Cas’ voice. “Ok, Cas,” he says, when it becomes clear Cas is angling for something more than a smile that makes it look like he ate some bad tacos.
Cas takes him by the wrist. This time the syllables which come out of his mouth are almost frantic. His eyes are wide and imploring, and his voice cracks on the last word.
The truth, Dean. Tell him the truth.
“Look, I’m sorry, Cas,” Dean says. Confronted by the weight of his failings and his inadequacies, he flees. All the while, he feels Cas’ eyes on his back.
---
It gets worse.
Cas continues to mutter Enochian at him, alternating between frustrated, hurt, mocking, and pleading inflections. Each time, Dean looks at him in a mixture of helplessness and shame.
The last time Cas tries, there’s a faint snap and tingle of grace curling around the room. Dean can taste it in the air, ozone and electricity, before it makes the lamp closest to him spark and pop. “Great, now you’re killing the furniture,” comes out of his mouth before he can stop it.
Cas recoils as though Dean reached out and slapped him. He says something else in Enochian, his voice small and defeated. He won’t even look at Dean.
If Dean were a better person, he would come clean. He would apologize to Cas and beg his forgiveness. He would take Cas’ scorn and irritation and lump it in with the rest of the shit that’s gone wrong with his life, and they would move past this.
Dean’s not a good person. Hell, he’s not even an okay person. He’s a piece of shit who got a hell of a lot luckier than he ever deserved, and Cas is just naive enough not to realize that.
---
It gets worse.
Sam walks into the library one afternoon with a dazed look on his face which means he’s just emerged from being caught deep in a book. He runs his hands through his hair and only then seems to realize that Dean and Cas are sitting at opposite ends of the library, deliberately ignoring each other. The tension in the room is thick enough to cut.
“You guys okay?” he asks, glancing back and forth between them.
“We’re good,” Dean says shortly, flipping a page of his book with unneeded aggression.
Sam flicks his eyes towards Castiel. Cas looks over the top of his book, his eyebrows twisted in a scowl. He mutters something most definitely not English under his breath, staring at Dean.
Sam chokes on nothing.
“You all right there, Sammy?” Dean glances at Sam, only to see that his brother’s face is bright red.
“Yeah, I’m great.”
Castiel says something else in Enochian, sounding more forlorn than angry. Dean didn’t think it was possible for his brother’s eyes to get any wider. “Something you want to share with the rest of the class?” Dean asks. He keeps his eyes on Cas, but the question is meant for both of them.
“I think you two should really talk,” Sam says, looking back and forth between him and Cas. “I think you’re both missing some information.”
“What do you mean--” Dean pauses as the obvious answer comes to him. “Hold on. You can understand him?”
“Don’t talk about me like I’m not in the room,” Castiel says, proving that he can speak English just damn fine when he wants to. Then, because Cas is an asshole whose main job is torturing Dean, he mutters something in Enochian.
Sam snorts.
If he didn’t know he would later regret it, Dean would put both of them in the ground.
“Well, if you want someone to talk to you, then knock it off and speak English!” Dean snaps. “I’ve got no idea why you’re babbling on like that and looking like I kicked your puppy when I don’t answer.”
Cas scowls, the full wrath of Heaven in his eyes. He starts what sounds like it will no doubt be a lengthy tirade (in Enochian of fucking course), before he’s interrupted by Sam.
“Dean doesn’t understand Enochian, Cas!” he shouts.
Two pairs of eyes snap to Sam. Dean’s are filled with furious betrayal, Cas’ with frustrated confusion. Sam ignores them both, rolling his own eyes to the ceiling. “Yeah, look, I’m sorry to cut in your drama or whatever, and I’m sure that you two could keep this up for another three weeks, but I value my sanity. Dean, nut up and tell Cas you don’t speak Enochian. Cas, stop running into a brick wall and tell him what you want. I mean, good God, it’s like I have to do everything around here myself!”
Sam’s complaining never ceases as he peruses the shelves for the particular book he’s looking for. Both Dean and Cas are referred to multiple times as idiots, sometimes assholes, and once even idjits. Throughout his litany of abuse, Dean and Castiel refuse to look at each other, though Dean does feel a telltale prickling at the back of his neck several times. Every time he looks at Cas, however, the angel has his eyes firmly fixed on his book.
Dean wonders if Cas would get more pissed if he told him his book was upside down.
“You ever think about how much pain and agony you could save me if you two assholes would just talk to each other?” Sam finally snaps. Arms laden with books, he levels a fearsome glare at the both of them. “For homework, neither of you are coming out of this library until you’ve actually talked to each other like rational adults. And if you make any weird noises, I’m going to smother both of you in your sleep.”
He stalks out of the library, leaving Cas and Dean alone once more. Cas looks up from his book, finally realizing it’s upside-down, while Dean puts down his own book. They stare at each other for a long moment, then speak at once.
“Why didn’t you tell me you didn’t understand Enochian?” “What were you trying to say to me?”
They stop. Dean swallows, gathers up all of his manly courage, and speaks.
“So what were you trying to say to me? It must have been pretty exciting to get Sammy clutching his pearls.”
Cas tilts his head. He considers Dean for a long moment before he crosses the space between them. Cas leans forward, putting his hands on the arms of Dean’s chair. The gesture boxes Dean in, a turn of events which Dean doesn’t struggle against.
“Why didn’t you tell me you didn’t speak Enochian?”
Pinned beneath Cas’ gaze, Dean squirms uncomfortably. Now that it’s just him and Cas, his deception seems childish. Would it really have been the end of the world if he’d told Cas he was too stupid and selfish to learn his language? It would have just been another disappointment in Cas’ life, but has it been worth these past few days of being at odds with Cas?
Heat flushes along the bridge of Dean’s nose as he mutters, “I wanted you to think I was smart.”
Damn super-angelic hearing. Cas doesn’t miss a beat, though his forehead creases. “You wanted...what? Dean, you are smart.”
He says it so naturally, as though Dean doesn’t struggle over translations or speaking Latin or cross-referencing indexes or any of the thousand other things that seem to come naturally as breathing to Sam and Cas. “Yeah, sure, I’m a regular fucking genius,” Dean mumbles.
“You’re capable of finding the problem with a faulty engine with a single look. You built your own EMF meter out of a spare Walkman. Despite your efforts to hide it, you’re very well-read, and you have an innate understanding of some fairly complicated mathematics. I’m not sure exactly what humans qualify as intelligent, but I feel as though all of those skills count.”
Dean knows his whole face is red. Heat prickles along the tips of his ears and down his neck. “Jesus, Cas,” he mutters. Unable to withstand the force of those blue eyes, he darts his glance down towards the floor. “Most people don’t start sweet talking until the third date.”
“Well, I’m an angel,” Castiel says, smugly, as though that solves every argument (not a bad strategy; that line’s worked for Cas for years. What else can you say after that?).
“All right, I answered yours, now you answer mine. What were you trying to say to me?”
Amazingly, Cas’ cheeks color.
“Come on, Cas,” Dean wheedles, when Cas doesn’t immediately answer. “I told you mine.”
Cas looks off to the side. He actually shuffles his feet before he answers, “It was just a thought. I thought, maybe, we could...Never mind. It was stupid.” He looks back at Dean and rolls his eyes, showing how ridiculous he finds this whole trial. “I guess, roughly translated, it would amount of something like ‘If only he were as decisive as he is pretty, then there would be no problem’.” He forces a weak laugh. “I said it in the heat of the moment. I was frustrated.”
Dean blinks in astonishment. Only one fact has managed to slip through the tangle of Cas’s words. “You think I’m pretty?”
Castiel’s blush deepens. “Anyone who has eyes would think that,” he says, a little roughly.
An automatic flush spreads across Dean’s cheeks, but he’s able to ignore that. He’s much more interested in what else Cas might have been telling him. “And what was something else you said?”
Cas coughs. “’Your eyes are bright as the sunrise, yet they fail to see what is in front of them’,” he says. If possible, his already rough voice has deepened.
“Another.”
Cas doesn’t pretend coyness. “’You had my heart from the first time I saw your soul’,” he says, in a near whisper.
Dean can’t hold himself back. He snatches Cas’ hoodie in his hands and drags Cas down to his level. Cas lets out a surprised grunt before he gracefully collapses atop Dean. He’s barely managed to balance himself on Dean’s lap before Dean’s lip are on his.
Despite Dean’s rushed actions, the kiss is sweet and almost chaste. Cas’ lips are warm and chapped and utterly wonderful. At first, they’re stiff, but only for a second. Then Cas relaxes into the kiss, sighing happily as his hand cups Dean’s cheek. Cas’ stubble scratches against his chin. He’s going to bear the marks of Cas’ affection later, and he couldn’t be more thrilled about it.
Cas parts from him, but not far. In fact, he’s close enough to Dean that when whispers a phrase in Enochian, his lips brush against Dean’s.
A shiver of delight runs down Dean’s spine. Now that he knows the gist of what Cas was trying to say to him, Enochian fills him with illicit glee. “What did that mean?”
Cas kisses him again, adding a cunning sweep of his tongue across the seam of Dean’s lips. “’Of all the stars in the heavens, you shine the brightest’,” he translates, resting his forehead against Dean’s.
Heat floods through Dean once more. It’s everything he ever dreamed of hearing. It seems impossible that he could have it. There should be a rule against it. Dean Winchester doesn’t get what he wants.
Except, apparently, Dean Winchester does get what he wants, as evidenced by his lapful of angel murmuring Enochian endearments into his ear. “Hey Cas?” Dean tilts his head to catch Cas’ eye. “When I first saw you, sparks flew. How would you say that in Enochian?”
Cas thinks for a second before a smile spreads across his face. “I’ll teach you,” he promises, before he pulls Dean’s face towards him once more.
(Sam’s warning about making weird noises makes a lot more sense now.)

Destiel Chronicles
Vol. LXXXIX
It was a love story from the very beginning
"You, me... And Sam."
Hello my friends!!! How are you? I feel much better now thanks to all your asks and your memes and your cracks, I adore them all!
Okay, putting that to a side, and still dreaming about how Jensen will give us the ending we all deserve, let's continue with this analysis, because is time to talk about the mixtape.
From butterflies in the stomach and Foreshadows of the new God
When the episode starts, there's a hint of what Jack's mission is. But coming out from Dagon's mouth, it became like a real bad future.
Dagon: Yeah. And he's not gonna stop there. Every sad, weak human, every tight-ass angel, every sniveling demon they'll all be consumed. So go ahead. Play your games. But whether you're healthy or sick, filthy or clean, He will be born. Good times.
Is almost the contrary to what Jack will actually do for the world. He will consume but it will be Chuck's powers until the last drop of it. And against Dagon's speech, he will save each demon and angel and restore everything.
Now, let's talk about CAS coming back to the bunker...
Tumblr media

I think his face is saying everything here. The one entering in the bunker after go MIA, was Cas', so, Dean's face is scandalous.
Imagine that suddenly your disappeared crush enters through the door without previous announcement. Of cour we can read the bumping heart allnover Dean's cheek, his eyes went wide, in surprise. 'Is CAS!'
He was so worried this whole time, thinking the worst could happen to him, and now CAS is there, alive.
But his reaction to it will be completely different to Sam's reaction. This was settled to make us see the difference between how a friend would react and how a lover would react. Blatant.
Sam: Hey. You're all right. Um – Where have you been?
Sam is asking as a friend, but Dean, Dean doesn't...
Dean: Let me rephrase that for Sam. Where the hell have you been? And why have you ignored our phone calls?
Okay, let's just stop here, this is the way a wife will ask her husband. But because we are talking about Dean, we can see his shield. His shield is US/WE, his shield is SAM, because he wants to drag his brother into the feeling of being desperately worried. Because recognize that DEAN WAS THE ONLY ONE ALMOAT LOOSING HIS HEAD TRYING TO KNOW IF CAS WAS ALIVE OR WHWRE HE WAS IA SHOWING WEAKNESS, IS SHOWING HIS TRUE FEELINGS FOR THE ANGEL. So, the theme of the I/ME vs the WE/US is perfectly written all over this episode.
Castiel: Where I was, the – the reception was, uh, poor.
Dean: No bars? No bars. That's his excuse. Wow.
Castiel: I was in Heaven. I was working with the angels. When I saw Dagon had captured Kelly, I-I thought they could help.
Okay Castiel is proving he is lying by himself here, because he said first he had not signal, and now, he heard one of the so many voice mails Dean had left in his phone.
Sam: And?
Castiel: Nothing.
Sam: Well, at least you're back. We're glad you're back
And be prepared again for the difference between the friend and the JILTED lover.
Dean: Really? No, I'm sorry. Okay, 'cause while you were striking out in Heaven, we had a shot at Dagon, and we lost.
Maybe Dean was waiting Sam to second him in his anger. But it was only in Dean's heart, the deception, and the recalling of so many days be worried about CAS. Because that's what romantic love makes you be.
Castiel: I know. I received your messages.
This was like a bomb for Dean...
Dean: Oh, you did – you did receive the messages? Okay, that's good.
Sarcasm...
Castiel: Dean.
Tumblr media

Dean can't handle the pain in his heart of being rejected and ignored by Castiel, so he searches for his shield again: We/Us/Sam and me.
Dean: So not only were you ditching us, but you were also ignoring us? That's great. 'Cause we really could've used the backup. But, uh, you were too busy with, um (Clicks tongue) What was it? Nothing?
Castiel: Dean, I –
Dean: What the hell is wrong with you, man? You know, whatever. That's (Chuckles) Yeah. Welcome back. (walks away)
Dean is so mad with CAS. And is blatant that his reaction is totally different to Sam's.
The Mixtape as a way to reciprocate Castiel's confession, and the desperate attempt to make CAS to stay by his side.
Okay, we are now in the scene. I'm sure this scene had been dissected by many meta writers. I won't say new things, but i will point a little to their body languages.
Okay, the scene starts with Castiel knocking at Dean's door to give him back the mixtape, so jus aknowledged there that Dean gave CAS a freaking mixtape, which doesn't have another meaning that ROMANTIC. But we can assume Castiel doesn't get this human's customaries, also, we can assume he does, because boop culture that Metatron out at once in his head... So...
After Dean, without looking at him, because he is mad and now he has to handle this angel lack of knowledge about WHAT GIFTING A MIXTAPE MEANS, he said "It's a gift, you keep those."
And Castiel gets nervous.
Tumblr media

The swallow and the way he opens his mouth again to breathe and maybe to say something else, but he stopped himself. Castiel is nervous. I thought at first because he has to find the Colt, and he knew Dean kept it in his room. But we know now that it wasn't just that. He was flustered because the intimacy of the situation with the man he loves.
Castiel looks around before attempting to leave, maybe searching for the Colt, but then Dean starts talking:
Dean: Cas, you can't – With everything that's going on, you can't just go dark like that. We didn't know what happened to you. We were worried. That's not okay.
And in the middle of the intimate scene, awkward moment, Dean needs his shield more than never.
Castiel: Well, I didn't mean to add to your distress. I – Dean, I just keep failing. Again and again. When you were taken, I searched for months and I couldn't find you. And then Kelly escaped on my watch, and I couldn't find her. And I just wanted I needed to come back here with a win for you. For myself.
This speech is so important, because it shows how depressed Castiel felt, how uneasy. How unworthy. He needed to be useful. So he decided to start alone this dangerous journey that will end in his death. He also mentions the win. Because he didn't know he will be always Dean's win, as we will see in episode 13x06 when CAS comes back to Dean alive.
After they talk about Dragon, and Cas' asks if Sam and Dean are willing to kill an innocent, because that's dirty work, that's the mission CAS had taken in his own shoulders, Dean says this...
Dean: We will find a better way.
Castiel: You mean, we?
Gif set credit @deanwinchestrs
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cas points at Dean with the mixtape, because he wants to clarify if Dean is referring to them, to JUST CAS AND DEAN. YOU AND ME. THE TWO OF US. And Dean is now the flustered one. Look at Dean's face, being in just one spot, recognizing that the shield can be broken, that he is talking about CAS and him. Is too intimate. Too different. So his face is burning. And even so, the words are out. 'Yes, dumbass, we.'
What was this? This was an attempt coming from Castiel to get to know Dean's feelings. Pointing with the mixtape to just Dean and him. Not Sam here. Not shield. And Dean goes for it. Goes for that WE: YOU AND ME.
But then, Dean backtraks
Gif set credit @stardustcas
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He starts explaining the WE, avoiding Castiel's gaze, he goes... 'You, me...' and then he tilts his head, and adds the shield back again: 'and Sam.'
The second gif is showing Dean backtracking, Because is too intimate, is too risky, he is standing on the edge between friendship and something else. He can't cross that line. Mostly because he is not sure about Castiel's feelings for him, and more now, after seeing how CAS ignored him for so long. Dean is like:
"What am I doing? Let's mention Sam here, and turn this into no homo conversation."
But the nervousness is all over the scene, i got nervous watching it because the awkward moment!
Gif set credit @stardustcas
Tumblr media Tumblr media
More nervousness. Dean's flustered eyes. The swallowing. The attempt of staring into those blue eyes of the man he loves. (The butterflies in the stomach, the heart beating fast, the dry mouth) trying to make the conversation more normal, but their faces are loud.
Vas says he likes that and then Dean is more frustrated than never and his dry mouth is asking for a beer, or maybe he find a way out from the awkward moment, the gay moment. He needs to breathe. He almost let his guard down with this angel. And the desperate way to say STAY WITH ME. DON'T GO AWAY AGAIN. To his angel.
Castiel engages with a seductive look in the middle of the sexual tension
Sam: I mean, how did Cass even get the Colt out of the safe in the first place?
Dean drops his head. Sam raises an eyebrow
Sam Dean, you – you put the Colt back in the safe, right? Dean?
Dean: It was under my pillow. It – I like to keep it close. (Sighs) He came into my room and he played me.
Okay i can even explain the intimacy of this. Even if CAS didn't know about this and he just went searching all over Dean's room. Mention this after the huge scene full of romantic tension, has a meaning. Again: INTIMACY. And adding the "He played me" to all of this is another symbol way to show theme audience this was like that scene between the guy and his crush, in wich his crush takes advantage of it and plays him by stealing something from him. Yes.
Finally, when they find CAS... This scene...
Tumblr media
Gif credit @stardustcas
Dean is mad, very mad at him. Because Castiel really played him. But... Look at the scene. Look at Castiel's gaze: PURE SEDUCTION. He maybe is aware of the effect he causes on Dean. And after the mixtape scene, he goes for it. Seduction as if they were in their first seasons together. And Dean is muted, and stares at him, then checks him out, and they're in their own sexual tension world, until Sam calls him. But he has to calls him twice because his brother is too embedded into Castiel's hot behavior.
But don't forget Dean is mad at him. So now, is Dean the one playing around with CAS. Throwing the keys at him and making him almost loose his stability to reach them.
Closing the circle
When Dean and Sam reach Castiel again in the middle of a battle with Dragon, Dean's desperation when Dagon is about to smite Castiel is high level.
But then Jack saves the day, not just showing CAS the future (the ending of season 15) but also, Jack gave him powers to finish Dagon.
Then, the scene in wich Castiel heals Dean is full of intimacy again. The lingerie touch, rubbing fingers. Because Dean is moving his hand slowly away from CAS touch but he ended by letting his hand to feel Castiel's rubbing his fingers. To let Castiel to heal him.
And then, CAS is gone again.
To Conclude:
12x19: The Future has Destiel all over it. Dean mad at him, reaching the level of a JILTED lover. Dean way to protect himself from another rejection using the WE/US/SAM shield. Just because he can't handle it. The doubts about Cas' feelings, and the way the angel always find to go MIA, makes his heart stutter.
The mixtape scene is one of the most emblematic. The nervousness is all over their faces, and Misha and Jensen transmite perfectly the romantic tension between the two characters and goes straight to our hearts, making us feel awkward and flustered too.
Hope you like this meta. See you in the next one!

Tyrion and Tysha murder mystery hints - first mention in the text
This thing just keeps tugging at me, and this recent thread made me ambitious to examine it in more detail. So I’ll look at hints for an even darker edge to the story of Tyrion and Tysha in the parts of the text that actually mention her.
Since I have limited time, I’ll do several posts. This one is about how we learn about Tysha in A Game of Thrones.
We head into AGOT, Tyrion VI via a chapter transition from AGOT, Jon V, where Jon talks Maester Aemon into choosing Samwell as his assistant. In the presence of his current assistant Chett, who - it is revealed later in the ASOS Prologue - murdered a girl he liked for rejecting him.
Chett gave a nasty laugh. “I’ve seen what happens to soft lordlings when they’re put to work. Set them to churning butter and their hands blister and bleed. Give them an axe to split logs, and they cut off their own foot.”
“I know one thing Sam could do better than anyone.”
“Yes?” Maester Aemon prompted.
Jon glanced warily at Chett, standing beside the door, his boils red and angry. “He could help you,” he said quickly. “He can do sums, and he knows how to read and write. I know Chett can’t read, and Clydas has weak eyes. Sam read every book in his father’s library. He’d be good with the ravens too. Animals seem to like him. Ghost took to him straight off. There’s a lot he could do, besides fighting. The Night’s Watch needs every man. Why kill one, to no end? Make use of him instead.”
Maester Aemon closed his eyes, and for a brief moment Jon was afraid that he had gone to sleep. Finally he said, “Maester Luwin taught you well, Jon Snow. Your mind is as deft as your blade, it would seem.”
“Does that mean …?”
“It means I shall think on what you have said,” the maester told him firmly. “And now, I believe I am ready to sleep. Chett, show our young brother to the door.”
(AGOT, Jon V)
The chapter is followed by AGOT, Tyrion VI, where Tyrion and Bronn rest on the high road after being kicked out of the Gates of the Moon, after he won his trial by combat:
They had taken shelter beneath a copse of aspens just off the high road. Tyrion was gathering dead-wood while their horses took water from a mountain stream. He stooped to pick up a splintered branch and examined it critically. “Will this do? I am not practiced at starting fires. Morrec did that for me.”
The entire conversation between Jon, Aemon and Chett sets up Tyrion. A lordling, bad with manual labor, but smart and a reader. Yet we know he is no Samwell Tarly in his sensibilities, and the last sentence is dedicated to Chett.
Chett...
The only women Chett had ever known were the whores he’d bought in Mole’s Town. When he’d been younger, the village girls took one look at his face, with its boils and its wen, and turned away sickened. The worst was that slattern Bessa. She’d spread her legs for every boy in Hag’s Mire so he’d figured why not him too? He even spent a morning picking wildflowers when he heard she liked them, but she’d just laughed in his face and told him she’d crawl in a bed with his father’s leeches before she’d crawl in one with him. She stopped laughing when he put his knife in her. That was sweet, the look on her face, so he pulled the knife out and put it in her again. When they caught him down near Sevenstreams, old Lord Walder Frey hadn’t even bothered to come himself to do the judging. He’d sent one of his bastards, that Walder Rivers, and the next thing Chett had known he was walking to the Wall with that foul-smelling black devil Yoren. To pay for his one sweet moment, they took his whole life.
But now he meant to take it back, and Craster’s women too. That twisted old wildling has the right of it. If you want a woman to wife you take her, and none of this giving her flowers so that maybe she don’t notice your bloody boils. Chett didn’t mean to make that mistake again.
Like Tyrion, Chett is rejected by others for his appearance, has a violent father and a lot of resentment that comes out in the shape of murdering “slatterns”. He also mixes it up with the idea of marriage. Like Tyrion, the cold night reminds Chett of the girl in his past.
He could see Bessa’s face floating before him. It wasn’t the knife I wanted to put in you, he wanted to tell her. I picked you flowers, wild roses and tansy and goldencups, it took me all morning. His heart was thumping like a drum, so loud he feared it might wake the camp. Ice caked his beard all around his mouth. Where did that come from, with Bessa? Whenever he’d thought of her before, it had only been to remember the way she’d looked, dying. What was wrong with him?
Chett killed her in a rage, but the truth is layered and haunts him.
But back to Tyrion.
Tyrion VI emphasizes Tyrion’s cleverness as he converses with Bronn, explaining his strategy in the Vale for how to steal Bronn from Cat’s service and make use of his practical talents, and his strategy for their travels in the Mountains of the Moon. Tyrion talks, Bronn listens and agrees to serve him.
The point is, Tyrion is very observant and smart. Reader, trust Tyrion’s judgent and words, is the message. Then we get more personal.
As they light a fire and eat a goat, Tyrion remembers his goaler Mord who treated him cruelly in the sky cells.
(Mord, btw, translates to murder in many a germanic/Scandinvian language.)
“And yet you gave the turnkey a purse of gold,” Bronn said.
“A Lannister always pays his debts.”
Even Mord had scarcely believed it when Tyrion tossed him the leather purse. The gaoler’s eyes had gone big as boiled eggs as he yanked open the drawstring and beheld the glint of gold. “I kept the silver,” Tyrion had told him with a crooked smile, “but you were promised the gold, and there it is.” It was more than a man like Mord could hope to earn in a lifetime of abusing prisoners. “And remember what I said, this is only a taste. If you ever grow tired of Lady Arryn’s service, present yourself at Casterly Rock, and I’ll pay you the rest of what I owe you.” With golden dragons spilling out of both hands, Mord had fallen to his knees and promised that he would do just that.
The image of coins spilling from hands is picked up later.
Tyrion was hoping to lure in the mountain clans, but they take their time showing up, so he tries to be even more conspicuous.
Tyrion chuckled. “Then we ought to sing and send them fleeing in terror.” He began to whistle a tune.
He chooses the “terrible” tune himself. It leads straight to his memory:
“Myrish. ‘The Seasons of My Love.’ Sweet and sad, if you understand the words. The first girl I ever bedded used to sing it, and I’ve never been able to put it out of my head.” Tyrion gazed up at the sky. It was a clear cold night and the stars shone down upon the mountains as bright and merciless as truth. “I met her on a night like this,” he heard himself saying. “Jaime and I were riding back from Lannisport when we heard a scream, and she came running out into the road with two men dogging her heels, shouting threats.
Myrish, as in the Myrish lens. The object Lysa sends Catelyn, which has a false bottom hiding the real message in a secret language, a message of murder and conspiracy. A secret language, a foreign language, like Mord.
"A lens is an instrument to help us see."     (AGOT, Catelyn II)
Bright and merciless as truth.
My brother unsheathed his sword and went after them, while I dismounted to protect the girl. She was scarcely a year older than I was, dark-haired, slender, with a face that would break your heart. It certainly broke mine. Lowborn, half-starved, unwashed … yet lovely. They’d torn the rags she was wearing half off her back, so I wrapped her in my cloak while Jaime chased the men into the woods. By the time he came trotting back, I’d gotten a name out of her, and a story. She was a crofter’s child, orphaned when her father died of fever, on her way to … well, nowhere, really.
Where Tysha went will become a theme. @une-nuit-pour-se-souvenir examines that beautifully here.
But even right here, the tone is ominous, and GRRM goes out of his way to emphasize it with the ellipses.
We get the story of Jaime chasing after the outlaws and Tyrion and Tysha falling into bed at an inn after drinking, eating and talking, and the story of their marriage, and its end.
Tyrion was surprised at how desolate it made him feel to say it, even after all these years. Perhaps he was just tired. “That was the end of my marriage.” He sat up and stared at the dying fire, blinking at the light.
“He sent the girl away?”
“He did better than that,” Tyrion said. “First he made my brother tell me the truth. The girl was a whore, you see. Jaime arranged the whole affair, the road, the outlaws, all of it. He thought it was time I had a woman. He paid double for a maiden, knowing it would be my first time.
NOTHING about this makes sense, which is ridiculous when you consider we were just hammered over the head with how smart Tyrion is supposed to be.
Since when is Jaime prone to setting up complex schemes? Why would feel the need to push Tyrion to have sex at thirteen, and why would be ever do it this way? Why would be hire him a virgin for his first time? We don’t question it because GRRM has told us not to question the smartiepants. But as we later learn, that was all. not. true. So maybe other things aren’t true, either.
“After Jaime had made his confession, to drive home the lesson, Lord Tywin brought my wife in and gave her to his guards. They paid her fair enough. A silver for each man, how many whores command that high a price? He sat me down in the corner of the barracks and bade me watch, and at the end she had so many silvers the coins were slipping through her fingers and rolling on the floor, she …” The smoke was stinging his eyes. Tyrion cleared his throat and turned away from the fire, to gaze out into darkness. “Lord Tywin had me go last,” he said in a quiet voice. “And he gave me a gold coin to pay her, because I was a Lannister, and worth more.”
The parallels to his memory of Mord are striking. Silver and gold, coins spilling from hands, a “price” beyond expectation... and a promise of something very sinister at the next meeting.
After a time he heard the noise again, the rasp of steel on stone as Bronn sharpened his sword. “Thirteen or thirty or three, I would have killed the man who did that to me.”
1) Nice how Bronn makes it about Tyrion’s pain. Tysha’s pain does not exist to them. And so the reader is also drawn away from it. Poor Tyrion.
2) Another reference to killing. It foreshadows Tyrion’s murder of Tywin over this very matter, of course, but at the same time...
Tyrion gestured impatiently with the bow. “Tysha. What did you do with her, after my little lesson?”
“I don’t recall.”
“Try harder. Did you have her killed?”
His father pursed his lips. “There was no reason for that, she’d learned her place … and had been well paid for her day’s work, I seem to recall. I suppose the steward sent her on her way. I never thought to inquire.”
“On her way where?”
“Wherever whores go.”
Tyrion’s finger clenched.  (ASOS, Tyrion XI)
I don’t think it can be emphasized enough that this happens right after he murders Shae. Shae the whore.
“Did you ever like it?” He cupped her cheek, remembering all the times he had done this before. All the times he’d slid his hands around her waist, squeezed her small firm breasts, stroked her short dark hair, touched her lips, her cheeks, her ears. All the times he had opened her with a finger to probe her secret sweetness and make her moan. “Did you ever like my touch?”
“More than anything,” she said, “my giant of Lannister.”
That was the worst thing you could have said, sweetling.
Tyrion slid a hand under his father’s chain, and twisted. The links tightened, digging into her neck. “For hands of gold are always cold, but a woman’s hands are warm,” he said. He gave cold hands another twist as the warm ones beat away his tears.
And just before he asks him about Tysha, Tywin assures him he was meant to be sent to the Wall. Whether or not that’s a lie, we’re looking at another Chett parallel. Murdering a “slattern”, facing life at the Wall.
We close Tyrion’s memory of Tysha:
Tyrion swung around to face him. “You may get that chance one day.  Remember what I told you. A Lannister always pays his debts.” He yawned. “I think I will try and sleep. Wake me if we’re about to die.”
He rolled himself up in the shadowskin and shut his eyes. The ground was stony and cold, but after a time Tyrion Lannister did sleep. He dreamt of the sky cell. This time he was the gaoler, not the prisoner, big, with a strap in his hand, and he was hitting his father, driving him back, toward the abyss …
Like Chett, his thoughts return to the girl. He turns into the goaler, Mord, his rage comes through, his capability of great violence. In ASOS, his lashing out at Tywin is preceeded by directing his violence toward the “whore” who allegedly betrayed him. Which is preceeded by a truth about Tysha.
“Thank you?” Tyrion’s voice was choked. “He gave her to his guards. A barracks full of guards. He made me … watch.” Aye, and more than watch. I took her too … my wife …
“I never knew he would do that. You must believe me.”
“Oh, must I?” Tyrion snarled. “Why should I believe you about anything, ever? She was my wife!”
“Tyrion—”
He hit him. It was a slap, backhanded, but he put all his strength into it, all his fear, all his rage, all his pain. Jaime was squatting, unbalanced. The blow sent him tumbling backward to the floor. “I … I suppose I earned that.”
“Oh, you’ve earned more than that, Jaime. You and my sweet sister and our loving father, yes, I can’t begin to tell you what you’ve earned. But you’ll have it, that I swear to you. A Lannister always pays his debts.” Tyrion waddled away, almost stumbling over the turnkey again in his haste. Before he had gone a dozen yards, he bumped up against an iron gate that closed the passage. Oh, gods. It was all he could do not to scream.
(ASOS, Tyrion XI)
The turnkey here is interesting. Once again, Tysha’s memory is associated with a cell and the presence of a turnkey. In his anguished memory, Tyrion almost stumbles over him. The last turnkey was Mord.
So, just looking at Tysha’s first mention, there are so many ominous connections. Murder murder murder.
The chapter ends with Tyrion meeting and “hiring” the mountain clans. How? To avenge himself on Lysa Arryn, he promises them the entire Vale. Really driving home that “a Lannister pays his debts” is all about disproportionate retribution.
A few chapter later, to create some distance to this dark tale, Tyrion meets Shae and sets up to re-create his entire Tysha trauma. The two are intertwined, so why should their ends not be?
That’s fodder for a different post, though.

danny phantom episode 4-7 Thoughts: (under a readmore because, these got kinda long!)
-the outfit danny had to buy for dash's party. CLASSIC 2000S i cannot stop laughing. And also showing up to the party and everyone is dressed like the trio is hilarious. and further proof that everyone looks good dressed goth.
-dash has a closet full of cute lil bear plushies?? LOVE that. adorable. also his response to danny trashing his room fighting a ghost was SO valid if somone BROKE MY BED IN HALF ID BE PISSED TOO.
-technus being like 'oh smart, u should be a tutor!' then later being like 'forget tutor, be a teacher!' :) supportive king <3 I also really like his upgraded suit/design. AND SPOCK CAMEO??? HELLO??
-the music in this show is super. its so funky. I looked it up and the guy who does it, guy moon (awesome name) also did music for other cartoons like fairly odd parents, barnyard, chalkzone, billy & mandy, AND some actual movies like FIGHT CLUB??? the whiplash I got from reading that)
-sam being rich explains a lot about her, actually.
-I know the moral of the episode was supposed to be 'dont ditch your friends for popular people/spend a lot of money on clothes that arent You to Fit In'. but tbh. it wouldve been easy for danny to have been like 'well, okay, ill come but only if my friends can!' but I get. that hes 14. so. not a lot to say there.
-BOX GHOST IS BACK!!!!! also, danny sitting up and wearing the dress/wig/makeup. umm thats how I dress everyday LMFAO. unironically me. (hate the jokes that boil down to 'haha funney man in dress' tho. but this is a look)
Tumblr media
-jazz being protective of her brother once again being like NOOO YOU GUYS BETTER NOT STAKE OUT HIS (actually haunted) LOCKER!! shes aware of how people perceive him and she wants to help :( which is also probably why she told dash to invite him to that party even tho she had no interest in going!! she wants to help him out :(
-gotta say im with tucker on the whole 'should danny use his powers to get back at bullies' debate. 100% yes. let him teach kids to fight back. making dash throw his food at paulina out of the blue? no. but when hes actually about to pick on someone? yeah! for self defense? YEAH! if dash and his friends just threw food at him, I think rather than. idk doing sneaky shit with frogs he couldve just threw it back and not pulled punches if they tried to fight. I kNOOWWW its a kids show so they are like 'if u fight back ur just as bad!! violence bad!!' but. theyre HIS POWERS. WHO CARES.
-like my only gripe is that dash really isnt LEARNING ANYTHING WHEN DANNY GETS BACK AT HIM IN THE MOST PETTY INDIRECT WAYS. whatever they had to add a bully psa episode I guess. I hate it and I hate the way cartoons usually handle it because these methods simply Do Not Work. 'aND YouRE USinG YOur poWErs FOR EVill???!' this is Not Evil. even when poindexter takes dannys body, theyre only being 'nice' bc hes stealing soda for them!! bitches deserve what they get (nothing too brutal bc theyre high schoolers but damn, if they pick on danny he doesnt need to be the 'bigger person' he needs to start biting people)
-SAM TRYING TO SMUGGLE FROGS OUT OF THE BIO LAB?? girl in middle school when we had to dissect frogs we could opt out, also, they came to us already dead and preserved...
-sidney's lingo and the fact hes in black and white is sending me. also, danny is a ghost celebrity apparently for being a halfa?? ok. thats interesting to know
-the DENTIST BEING EXCITED ABOUT THE COTTON CANDY FLOOD IS THE FUNNIEST THING SO FAR.
-I LOOOVE the trope of 'wishes gone wrong'. not crazy about the stereotypical genie, or the use of the dreamcatcher looking design. (also, I KNOW theyre scientists but the way theyre handling a cold...are the fentons ANTIVAX)
-the genie. she. whitewished paulina. JKASDFHKJ. (the ghost literally just being hello kitty???? im dying) 'why do i feel that im special and wonderful? because I AM! <3' paulina ilu self worth queen. felt bad for her also getting possessed by (2) boys later who were arguing INSIDE HER. WTF.
-imagine being the guy trapped in his now flying car. he thought danny and tucker were HALUCINATIONS. imagine being trapped in a flying car with two, what you think are imaginary arguing 14 year olds convinced ur gonna die. i WOULD say this dude is gonna need so much therapy, but he seemed totally fine and excited when they landed (I would be happy too if a chicken was on my head. chickens rule) stoner rights
-sam's bat slippers??? iconic. SO cute.
-I think desiree's backstory is so :( do all ghosts have messed up sad backstories?? poindexter's was sad too...cannot imagine box ghost has any kind of fucked up backstory. but what if. his mom got pushed off cliffs by boxes...........a la cruella... anyway her 'no man may lay a hand on me' iconic. ilu
-I know danny has no concept of how much bras cost but my god dont attack tucker with some girls bra. those are so expensive.
-its really. well its not a GOOD THING he went into the portal and got fucked up, but its good danny was the one to do it rather than sam or tucker. because even tho he was being influenced by desiree and kept getting more malicious and it prob wasnt 100% him...he sucked as a ghost like most the people he 'pranked' were innocent ppl just Chillin and he didnt want to help anyone at all. I think danny is the most responsible out of them but also, hes 14 and shouldnt HAVE to feel obligated to fight every ghost. hes a good kid and wants to, but I also feel like he feels like...responsible for the portal turning on?? because his parents did give it up,, but it was an accident and not his fault (if anything, why was the on switch on the inside. why was it that easy. why was there no safety measures. that seems like smth OSHA needs to hear about). like thats my son. hes a good boy. and hes never done anything wrong in his life, ever. if anyone hurts him im killing everyone in this room and then myself. etc.
-danny's curfew is 10PM????? DUDE. when I was 14...shit I couldn't be out that late, I had to be back at like, 8 at the latest, and my parents had to know exactly where and who I was going with, AND i had to call/text them regularly...is this a case of my parents being overbearing, or the fentons sucking??? the only time i could EVER be out that late was if I was at an overnight sleepover or smth...
-the vultures have lil fezes. why do they have fezes...theyre so fuckin funny 'ask him for directions' 'I KNOW WHERE IM GOING' these ghost vultures are my new grandpas. pick them up, put them in the adopt box.
-'I wonder why those guys were trying to waste dad!' THEYRE GHOSTS. YOUR DAD HUNTS GHOSTS. why is that not a conclusion you'd immediately jump to??
-*jazz voice, clearly disgusted* WISCONSIN???
-mrs fenton with the lab coat and leg warmers and PERM. YESSS STYLISH.
-was going to say 'ew billionaire' @vlad but. super valid he used his powers to assumedly steal and cheat to get that money, thats how all billionaires do it! but ew hes a SIMP. and spending your billions on FOOTBALL STUFF?? you are Not Valid overall. I DO respect the fact you have a castle instead of a mansion. in wisconsin. if youre going to be stupidly rich might as well go all out, torches on the wall and all. I DO like his ghost form's little kitty ears. catman. and his cape! every design can benefit from a cape. and how different his forms look, like danny looks the EXACT SAME IN BOTH FORMS ASIDE FROM COLOR CHANGES. vlad's is like,, I could believe they were different people!! also I love the drama. but dude you are fighting a 14 year old. lame. also he was like, telling danny he wanted his mom and him and like, wanted him to renounce his dad?? WHAT ABOUT JAZZ?? bitch. those r MY kids and they are both important and special. I do agree they need better parents but thats not u sir <3
-I thought vlad's 'little badger' nickname for danny came from the football mascot of the packers, but google says they have NO MASCOT?? so now I'm like?? is it because his hair is sometimes black and sometimes white?? I hate to give him props but thats a PERFECT NICKNAME. theyre also tiny and vicious!
Tumblr media
-why did I get so excited that Skulker is back!! its been like. 2-3 eps LMAO. AND THE DAIRY KING. ICONIC I LOVE HIM. hes the nicest guy ever :) more nice ghosts please. danny cannot be fighting alone everytime with no ghost buds like every ghost being hostile sucks :(
-mr. fenton knew vlad was controlling him, but a few episodes ago he had no clue danny was doing the same thing...is it something about how malicious the ghost is?? he just seemed to think his memory had gaps the first time, this time he was INSTANTLY LIKE 'GHOST'. then again in this ep when danny did it again he was just slightly confused but not immediately freaking out like he did with vlad possessing him!!
-'my parents will accept ME NO MATTER WHAT' so. so why haven't you come out to them yet, danny?? if you really think that?? if theres no harm, and you're sure??? if vlad is a real problem, wouldnt that make dealing with him easier, to expose him???? SO WHY HAVENT YOU COME OUT YET?? COULD IT BE,, MAYBE YOU HAVE DOUBTS ABOUT WHETHER YOUR PARENTS ACTUALLY WILL ACCEPT YOU??? 🤔 ... 🏳‍🌈 I get why people say He Is Trans. I totally totally get u danny.
-sorta unrelated, but it just occurred to me in one of these eps they go to casper HIGH not casper middle school??? theyre 14?? dont highschools usually do ages 15-18? (I didnt go to hs so I might be wrong, if I am ignore this...) freshmen are usually 14-15, could just be a case of them not turning 15 yet but they will sometime in the school year (I say they because tucker said he was 14 too)? I know the show has 3 seasons, so by the end of it will they be older? thatd be neat but usually cartoon characters stay the same age...I love shows where you can see the characters age and grow up, though...three seasons seems like a long time to spend on like, 1 year...
