Charlie and Lucifer have a disney counterpart

Ozzie and Bee too a little

There is a beloved and happily sidelined disney ruler who dispite having the occasional moments of power, may well be a keen candidate for 'all the fun and none of the responsibility' personified.

Who is none other than......

The Sultan of Aladdin.

Think about it and if you're not all to familiar, know that the sultan is a friendly, goofy, cute, supportive loving little dad

who doesn't want to 'work'. By work, I mean the dirty work that goes into being a leader. Those tough decisions that will undoubtedly be unpopular among some.

This guy leads a nation, yet right from the start, the moment Jafar, the villain, his adviser, shows up with work, the jolly sultan shows the exasperation of a child being asked about their homework.

Though when it comes to going along with his teenage daughter wishes, sweet and idealistic as they are but realistically would have repercussions, he's down for it, because his daughter is his princess and her happiness is his happiness, end of story, everyone is happy.

He was clearly born into power.

Who was born or spawned into power?

Lucifer.

Someone who fell into his own dimension where his mysterious, probably problematic estrained wife who married into power, thrives or thrived. He is pride, the leader of 7 sins, who runs the pride ring but dies he really? He is shown to have no pride but it's OK because he's depressed.

Lucifer is a cute, silly little dad whose daughter is the apple of his eye and ultimately, Charlie gets what she wants, because if it makes her happy, it makes him happy.

Though like sultan he's right there as his precious daughter stands by a con artist who feels entitled to her (and the lifestyle she can provide him with clearly).

The other 6 individuals rule their sins and namesake regions, who like Lucifer are 'nice', can too be selective over what areas of their sin they choose to acknowledge.

Valentino is pretty much Ozzie's evil, very productive twin, some sinner a micro fraction of his age.

Bee could be a spokesperson for addiction awareness, but will she do more than speak, at the loved ones to pull an intervention?

All whilst being the one encouraging the overindulgence.

Let us not forget two small time demons who link both Ozzie of lust and Bee of gluttony together. Substance addicted Barbiewire and Verosika. We may not have seen a lot of them but like Valentino, they achieved plenty.

Barbie can travel freely to earth using one if Ozzie's crystals in order to smuggle hard d rugs. Job made easier by seducing a teenager.

Non-con welcoming Verosika travelled to earth to influence a load of youths with her team of fellow sexdemons.

She also bough beeljuice along with her which caused a massive scene.

Who will regulate such frowned upon actions?

Now back to new leader and leading character of her series, Charlie.

Like sultan, Charlie has help

in the form of someone she atleast knew to be sinister when she took him on. Someone who hardly hides his much they want what their boss has. That someone ofcourse being Alastor

who like Jafar would be of a lower social class, work hard, gain power and influence and be willing to scheme and sleaze his way into that powerful family.

Like sultan, Charlie is happy, nice, silly, dismissive to what it doesn't suit her to address, irresponsible, is being carried along in leadership

and is quick to see everyone as wonderful and equal without stopping to think that those who sit at the top may do something about such pushes.

Aladdin gets away with it being a family film where we follow the Alastor/Aladdin character in getting what they want, but Hazbin and Helluva, hopefully time will tackle some holes.

hi!! do you have any parallels headcanons? (i am currently craving headcanons more than oxygen and would love to hear them if you do!) (obviously no pressure though)

i dont actually have many At The Moment (partly because i want to rewatch the series first so i can absorb them into my Brain) but i do have a few !! (spoilers under the cut(

-you know how at the end of ep 6 the kids remembered what happened. yeah i think sam and romane wouldn't want a relationship after that just yet - not because they've lost feelings but because they're both processing everything that happened (along with remembering the information about bilal)

-relating to this i definitely think bilal romane and sam got into a poly relationship later in high school. and victor genuinely had no idea. all 3 of them thought someone else told victor. later when he DOES find out he's like WHAT THE FUCK !!!! (he's cool with it once he gets over the initial surprise though)

-bilal is bisexual, sam is unlabeled (thog does not careeee), romane is still kinda figuring it out but she's certainly Not Straight, and victor is aroallo (partially because i saw your own aro victor hc and went Oh Yes)

-victor has Some Issues regarding the fact that he killed sam in another timeline and he hardly, if at all, talks about how scared he is that he might harm one of his friends one day - he buries those thoughts deep down and they usually don't haunt him. but on those nights when it's hard to sleep ...

i don't have any past this. i just got these from my first watch through the show i need to rewatch it again NOW . however i will indeed absorb your hcs through osmosis

Do you know what was going on with the supernatural powers in Parallels? Because I got so lost with that

I think the explanation that's implied in the show is that, similar to how the ERN tests de-aged Poe the dog from episode 1, sent the kids into different timelines, and aged some of the chickens that Sofia used as test subjects in episode five, the tests also gave Romane and Victor time-based powers.

The various effects of the ERN tests were shown to be very unpredictable, and the results varied in most timelines. I think the Romane and Victor from the timeline we see in the show just so happened to be from a timeline where the effects translated into time-based powers for both of them.

Now. Do I have any clue how to make the supernatural powers make any sense from a logical, scientific standpoint? Nope. However, it is also important to note that:

A. I know absolutely nothing about physics, so even if they did provide a more in depth explanation for the powers, it would probably go over my head.

B. I am watching a show about time travel, so I kinda figured some of the logic might require suspension of disbelief.

C. I think the time powers in Parallels are extremely cool, so I'm very biased in their favor.

Also, there is a possibility that Romane got her powers from the test that went off when she and Victor traveled back in episode 3, since her powers don't show up until after this episode. But Victor's powers almost definitely came from the first test in episode 1, since his powers show up in episode 2.

But yeah, long story short, I think the powers came from the ERN tests, and I like them very much. :)

that means that ever since he got his powers he was never truly happy and was always sad or angry or scared, just good at hiding it

I watched Paralleles. Was on my saved list for a while, but finally got around to it. Liked, but didn’t love it. With that said hope there is a second season…though my gut says no.

I made sure to watch in the native French. I will watch in the actual language and not dubbed, even if the dub cast does a good job…its not the same. I don’t mind reading captions/subtitles anyways.

Though he was a minor character I found the police detective pretty cute and wanted to see if anything else that I might be able to see and now I’m watching French Netflix Original The Hook Up Plan. In French its called something else but I am too lazy to look it up. I am enjoying it, though the little I have seen people have said… first season amazing, second season meh, and third season wtf?!

The thing is that the most interesting and novel invention of the MCU is a universe where billions of people turned into dust and then were physically reconstituted on the spot five years later, in a world that had just barely adapted to their absence.

That is wild. That is intense! That is a series of pathos-ridden emotionally complex doorstoppers waiting to happen. Half the entire world! All dead! And somehow we coped with that! And now we have to cope with them all being back?

A whole street of empty houses--surely not everyone there became ash. Some of them moved to better places, now opened by the mass mortality. Some of them died afterward. Who will live there now? Even if inheritances are reversed by resurrection, surely leases aren't renewed. What the fuck happens to everyone who remarried?

What happens to the children snapped back to a world where their parents didn't survive, or the reverse?

But they had to then hastily smooth over this utterly batshit sci-fi premise and get the world mostly back to normal working order as rapidly as possible, without too much emphasis on how literally every person in existence has been placed in a mason jar by a narcissist and shaken twice in five years.

So they could get on with more superhero whack-blam business, which is customarily done against a background of Normality.

This is, tragically, the most Comics thing these movies have ever done.

It is beyond satire that they did this immediately before and during a worldwide pandemic that everyone was pressured to smooth over and 'return to normal' about within 2 years if not sooner.

charlie bushnell the actor that you ARE. the pain and resentment and horror on his face throughout that scene. his hesitation when he was about to kill percy. the simultaneous regret and determination. the fact that he hated annabeth seeing who he had become but like charlie said in an interview, is willing to do anything. luke is supposed to be an empathetic character. the way he narrated "look, I know you didn't want to be a halfblood" at the beginning of the episode paralleling percy, showing us just how easy it would have been for percy to end up like luke. both percy and the audience are supposed to understand exactly where luke is coming from, to empathise deeply with his disappointment in the gods and the desperation that resulted from it. and my god did charlie bushnell achieve that

hi! thanks for the ask!! :) I'll go with a combo of:

4 - Mind meld / telepathy / mind reading, 15 - Soulmates, and 52 - Fake death / presumed dead.

(I was actually working on a platonic soulmate AU with telepathy just the other day, so this is perfect. fair warning, this oneshot absolutely got away from me with the angst, but rest assured that they do still get a happy ending in this AU. I just had to approach the AU by going, "which scenes would be made much better if they were telepathically linked? great, now which scenes would be so much worse?" anyways this scene would be so much worse with telepathic links, enjoy!) Background Info for AU:

soulmate AU where you and your soulmates are telepathically linked once you meet. you can turn this on and off once you learn how. soulmates are platonic in this universe. as in, your soulmate could be a romantic partner, but that's not related to the soulmate thing at all, and just as many soulmates are friends or family or what-have-you.

main four get to be soulmates with telepathic connections, yippee.

the connection is only completely severed with a soulmate when that soulmate dies. also, side note, it also might happen if your soulmate ceases to exist in the timeline you are in. fun fact that may or may not be very very relevant to this oneshot.

takes place in episode one, just before the test goes off.

Bilal had closed their connection on his side, just as Sam asked Romane if he could kiss her. He didn't want the others noticing the sharp twinge of sadness that he couldn't quite shove down far enough.

It was fine. It was just a crush, and they were all soulmates anyways, so there wasn't any point in feeling like-

Before he could finish the thought, the lights flickered. It startled him into reopening the connection; it was almost instinct at this point, a subconscious reaching out for the others. All four of them had moments where they would snap their connection open or shut as a kneejerk reaction.

He didn’t need to glance at the others to feel their combined rush of _confused-nervous, what-was-that, what's-wrong-with-the-_

"We should have paid the electric bill." Victor joked, and in the split-second that followed, Bilal felt someone relax the slightest bit. Probably Romane, he thought, because Sam was still-

Then the lights started flashing, bright and blinding, and the next several moments were full of panic that might have been his and might have been one of his friend's.

Then everything was dark, and there was a sharp pain in his head.

He felt like throwing up, and something was wrong but he couldn’t figure out what through the haze of-

He was on the floor. When had he ended up on the floor?

Then Bilal's head throbbed, and he blindly reached out to pull himself up.

His vision was blurry, and he could barely think straight, but-

_panic-panic-panic, this-isn't-happening, not-happening, not-real-not-real-not-real, where-are-they, why-can't-i-feel-the-_

Sam. Those were Sam's thoughts.

"Romane! Bilal, Victor!" Sam's voice was shaking.

Bilal tried to answer, but he couldn't manage to get anything out. The words died in his throat, and he felt sick, and-

Wait. He could feel Sam's end of the connection, but-

Not Romane. Not Victor.

Dread suddenly rising in his chest, Bilal reached out to his two friends. Open. Reaching. Tugging on empty air that usually tugged back, where were they-

_danger-danger-scared, where-are-they, not-dead, can't-be-dead, please-please-please-scared_

Sam was panicking.

It didn't make sense. They had been here five seconds ago, they couldn't have-

They weren't dead.

Bilal blinked hard, trying to clear his thoughts. He had to help Sam. Then he could figure out what was going on, it was probably just-

He managed to struggle to his feet.

Sam's gaze landed on him, and his eyes widened. He looked terrified.

Bilal opened his mouth, unsure of what he was going to say, but knowing he had to say something to calm his friend down.

Then Sam bolted for the door. And Bilal had no idea what he was doing, but he was about to leave, and-

Wait, was his connection to Sam opened both ways?

Oh. No, it wasn't, quick-

Bilal mentally shoved his side of their connection open.

_wait-don't, don't-go, scared-confused-scared, what-are-you-doing, don't-leave-please_

Sam froze, hand on the door. He glanced back.

Bilal stared back at him. "Sam? What-"

"…Bilal?" The hesitation in Sam's voice was unnerving. As if he was actually asking if it was him.

Slowly, Bilal nodded. The action made his head pulse with pain, and he winced.

Sam didn't move, but his side of the connection lurched with not-possible-not-real, what-happened, confused_

Sam's thoughts were so rapid that it was nauseating, but Bilal wasn't about to close the connection after what just happened.

"Sam, calm down." He breathed.

"You're not Bilal." Sam choked out.

"…what? Sam, it's me." Bilal took a breath, and tried to gather his thoughts enough to project some degree of calm through the connection.

Sam stared at him. Slowly, a little bit of the tension left his shoulders, and his thoughts slowed.

"You're…really Bilal?"

"Yeah. Of course." He murmured. "You okay?"

"Am I okay?" Sam blurted, voice incredulous. "Bilal, look…look in the mirror."

Bilal turned towards the dusty mirror in the corner. He glanced at his reflection.

And he froze.

He stared at his reflection for a few more seconds. Moved his hand up. Dropped it back to his side. "What happened? How am I-?"

"I don't know!" Sam had moved towards him while he was staring at the mirror. "But-"

"And - and Romane and Victor, what happened to-"

"Bilal." Sam's voice was shaking again. "I can't feel them. The connection on their side, try to open it, it's-"

"I tried." As soon as the words were out, Bilal realized what they meant, what they had to mean.

But it didn't make sense-

Sam was crying, he realized, distantly. Or maybe he was.

He couldn't separate his thoughts from Sam's right now, and he didn't want to.

Somehow, they ended up sitting against the wall, Sam's head against Bilal's shoulder.

"What happened?" Bilal finally murmured.

"Does it matter? They're already-" Sam's voice caught on the word.

Bilal didn't know what to say to that. He closed his eyes, hating the sensation of tears stuck to his eyelids.

He wanted his mom.

He didn't know how much time went by like that before he managed to speak.

"We should-"

"I know."

Silence again.

Then Sam swallowed. "Would…would it be okay if I closed the connection? I just- it's loud. And I…" He stopped, and let out a breath. "I don't know."

He didn’t want him to close the connection. It was probably the only thing keeping Bilal somewhat grounded right now, the thought that he still had somewhere for his mind to reach to when everything was falling to pieces around them. But having it open was probably doubling the amount of grief and shock floating around in Sam's head, and Bilal could barely even stomach the thought of causing Sam any more hurt than the two of them were already experiencing.

"Yeah. Yeah, that's fine." His voice sounded far away, even to himself.

Sam shifted closer, head still pressed against Bilal's shoulder.

Then Bilal felt their connection close, and everything went quiet.

Neither of them moved after that. Not until the police arrived.

it gets much happier in this AU, i swear. it's a happy AU i promise. anyways. I wrote that in a blur of hyperfocus, so I have no idea if I like it or not yet! remains to be seen!

Bilal & Romane’s kids- there are two of them, right? And they’re both girls, I’m pretty sure? What if those kids reminded Bilal and Romane of Sam and Victor?

Like, one day they see them together and think of when the four of them were together and happy etc

And maybe the younger one’s smart enough to skip a grade because she was raised by a physician

But she also feels pressured to keep up the good grades

And the older one feels pressured to help her sister because she the older one

And one day they (Romane & Bilal) realise it and maybe one of them starts crying because they’re so much like Sam and Victor and they were happy, but look how that ended up-

So they sit down, and they have a talk and communicate healthily

And I guess this could be a reincarnation AU and eventually they get their memories back and it’s weird, since, you know, their friends are their parents and Victor killed Sam-

But maybe they work it out, and maybe when their parents friends Romane & Bilal get home they’ll reveal themselves, and they’ll finally reunite, and no one goes back to the past because they don’t need to.
