Light Chaser Rescue (2022) - 追光者 - Whump List

list by StayDandy Synopsis : Lawyer Luo Ben goes to a disaster-stricken area caused by a devastating earthquake. It's there that he comes into contact with the Light Chaser Rescue unit. He bears witness to the people's sense of camaraderie in the face of adversity and becomes deeply inspired by the volunteer efforts. Luo Ben decides to become one of several new recruits to the team. They put their lives on the line in every rescue and disaster relief operation that pits them against earthquakes, fires, floods and typhoons. At the end of the day, will they finally grow into an elite rescue unit? (MDL) AKA : The Light of Life

Notes : This is a Full Whump List • I get that China has their censorship thing.. but I feel like the cuts in this show were especially noticeable / choppy ... I can only guess that the actual rescue scenes were effected the most, which kinda took away from the exciting/action aspects of the show .. with a lot of the action cut all that's left is plenty of room for alllll the relationship dramas (so many) ... then again, I could be wrong, maybe it was a budget thing .. or perhaps their goal was to focus on the BTS lives of the the rescuers rather than the job .. idk .. I expected action I got slice-of-life ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ • My favorite episodes are pink : 00

01 : [flash-forward] Someone (later revealed to be Luo Ben) falling in an ice crevice

03 : Luo Ben is crawling through a tight space, recalling childhood trauma, dizzy, ears ringing … Zhou Ming Ming gets a cut on his leg, faints at the sight of blood.. limping, helped to walk

05 : Luo Ben Catches a cold

09 : Freezes during a fire-raid drill, flashbacks of childhood trauma,

12 : Stuck in a house that's been buried in a landslide while trying to save someone

13 : … continued from previous ep. ... Rescued, hospitalized

14 : Patted on his injured shoulder, causing him to wince in pain

21 : Ming Ming is puking after a rescue that I assume was a DOA (dead on arrival - rescue scene not shown)

24 : Drunk & almost collapses, is caught

32 : (near end) Luo Ben tries to escape a fire out a window, but an explosion blasts him out, falls several stories, fracturing his leg

33 : … continued from previous ep. ... Hospitalized … under anesthetic in surgery with an oxygen mask on … limping, in pain … doing rehabilitation, in pain (I don't think one's leg is supposed to bend that way 0.o lol)

34 : Doing rehabilitation, in a bit of pain

36 : Ties his own hands together & is voluntarily held hostage

39 : Zhang Da Peng is out of breath, passes out, fever & altitude sickness.

40 : Luo Ben is hit on the head (wearing a helmet) by a falling icicle.. (replay from ep 1) falls down an ice crevice, hitting a shelf on the way down, lands on another shelf.. buried inside when the edge of the crevice breaks & blocks it up … knocked out, wakes with a gasp, in pain … escapes, passes out.. wakes briefly when found, passes out again (no aftercare scenes 😞)

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

#yeehaw #1k #5k #10k #posts that got cursed. blasted. im making these tag updates after... 19 hours?#also i have been told it should say speech loss bc nonverbal specifically refers to the permanent state. did not know that!#unfortunately i fear it is so far past containment that even if i edited it now it would do very little. but noted for future reference #edit 2: nvm enough ppl have come to rb it from me directly that i changed the wording a bit. hopefully this makes sense #also. in case anyone is curious. though i doubt anyone who is commenting these things will check the original tags #1) my friend did not do this on purpose in any way. it was not intended to distract me or to hit on me. im a lesbian hes a gay man. cmon now #he felt very bad about it afterwards. i thought it was hilarious but it was very embarrassed and apologetic #2) “why didn't he use 🫵🏼?” didn't exist yet. “why didn't he use 🆗?” dunno! we'd been using a lot of hand emojis. 👌🏼 is an ok sign #like it makes sense. it was just a silly mixup. also No i did not invent 👉🏼👌🏼 as a gesture meaning sex. do you live under a rock #3) nonspeaking episodes are a recurring thing in my life and have been since i was born. this is not a quirky one-time thing #it is a pervasive issue that is very frustrating to both myself and the people i am trying to communicate with. in which trying to speak is #extremely distressing and causes very genuine anguish. this post is not me making light of it it's just a funny thing that happened once #it's no different than if i post about a funny thing that happened in conjunction w a physical disability. it's just me talking abt my life #i don't mind character tags tho. those can be entertaining. i don't know what any of you are talking about #Except the ppl who have said this is pego/ryu or wang/xian. those people i understand and respect #if you use it as a writing prompt that's fine but send it to me. i want to see it #aaaand i think that's it. everyday im tempted to turn off rbs on it. it hasn't even been a week

one thing i need to start living by is “become the thing that you want” if i want friends who throw themed parties maybe i should start throwing those parties. if i want someone who writes me love letters maybe i should start writing letters for the people i love. if i want to hang out at museums and pretty cafes maybe i should invite my friends to these places. and maybe even then i won’t find the kind of people i want to be around. but then i would have become the exact person i want to be around. and maybe that’s good enough.

The Glorious Light of the Gospel

The heart of man in its natural state is the throne room of iniquity, where every vile act and evil intent is brewed, and darkness rules and reigns. But when the Lord in His grace shines the light of the Gospel in that room, this enables the man to understand the misery of walking in darkness. For he begins to see where he is going. And the beautiful mystery of this gracious divine light is that it shines brighter and brighter as the man grows in the knowledge of his divine Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. At salvation’s birth, it is like a beam of sunlight, coming in through the smallest window of the man’s heart, which points him to the source of light and enables him to realize that he resides in darkness and to understand the danger of it. And the Holy Spirit of love who quickens the man directs and empowers him to flee from the darkness and to turn to the light. And as the man matures in his walk in the light, it is no longer a window but a door through which the light shines that is opened. And the light shines brighter in the chamber of his heart and reveals all hidden sins. Thus, as the man grows in holiness, many a sin he sees in the chamber of his heart as the light continues to shine brighter; he beholds more of the beauty and excellencies of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, which enables him to see every tiny speck, even in the most hidden corner of his heart.
