Triolet Poem #21
I’ll shoot ya while you’re standing still. I stole cupid’s arrow and bow. Uproot the fire from hands at will. I’ll shoot ya while you’re standing still. Dilute the pyre’s and plans to kill. My love isn’t narrow you know. I’ll shoot ya while you’re standing still. I stole cupid’s arrow and bow.

is your heart hurt /
did your feet slip in the sand are you /
all right /
in the dark stillness of the night,
everything is warm again
and kind. a susurration of wings.
clairvoyance. squareness and linoleum.
are we still men
if we forget to eat, sleep,
if we spread out in pale grass and melt
and drink blood.
i saw you through dark water /
gleaming on dark water
like so many stars. and like stars
the dawn made you translucent. gone /
and like stars /
you do not love me back.
pink sailboat floating to nowhere
two ships sinking in the night with /
the blackness of night
all around.

Knock Knock
I will put you between the folds
of the pages of my life
Where you will lay in every
chapter of my untold story
Take my hand and we shall begin
to dance along with the songs
That resonate from my soul
Hoping you will surrender to the music
I have found the missing pieces
of a heart once torn into shreds
Let me love you with all of me,
let me rekindle the passion within you
I beg you
Open the door to your heart
And let me in to do my part

I Wish I Knew
Overdeveloped but late to bloom. There’s a smell from what I cooked this morning, but a stronger scent that began years ago, deep in the ground beneath my feet. It could be the beginning of a fertile bed or the ground about to give way.
Your eyes are so wide open staring at me and your motives so well hidden.  When “I love you” is typed on a page, it stands alone like a bullseye, as when it is said out loud it hangs like a broken tree branch, cracking, about to fall.  Imagine a kiss where you and the other person were on fire but later, after the  destruction and ashes, you discover you were the dry kindling needed for their arson.
This item was made for several pennies by children, but flown thousands of miles to sit upon a shelf in front of a cash register for a child to buy for the price of the children’s pay for six months.  Everybody gets paid, they tell us over and over, boots on our necks, so smile and work harder, and you too will inherit the boots and this whip.  “I love making things,” she said to her mud monsters with antlers and horns made of sticks, dimes for eyes.
What made you think you could protect her from the gates of hell, that place where so many of us go when we know what we believe is in total opposition to what a family believes?  A Satanic Panic childhood that has led to a now political cult, I never saw coming.  A religious instruction manual that says genocide was necessary to promote a promise of love and faith from a benevolent father is passed down to each generation, our family trees written in birth and death only so many gold leafed pages from the books of sanctioned annihilation I have trouble ignoring.
I thought I’d be wiser now that I am deep in adulthood, but instead I am bewildered.  Maybe wisdom just means one is fine with the bewilderment, our fights chosen with great care, no longer shaking a sword at every unfair thing the world generates daily.  That smell lingers, the one of earth and decay as the sun sets and my vision switches from sharp focus to a meditative blur.

Good Morning Poetry!
and the sun that rises...
...is the sun that sets
ushers in twilight and moonlight
a skyfull of stars that never forgets
to lead us, to guide us...
inspire and provide us...
with hope, with promises
reality of dreams come true
for me, for you...
all we need to....
is keep our faith
and hold onto what's true
looking out into the great blue
...we are what's possible
achievers who can do...
We are the creatives, the movers, the poets, writers, artists....expressors of what's often unseen and invisible, overlooked and unrecognized by the masses!
Here's to the world's we delve into with our imagination and paint to welcome others in...
Cheers to you

Quote
I like waking up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee, but I loved being awakened by your tickles. I am comforted by the familiar jingling of your keys, but my day used to brighten at your smile and loud "I LOVE YOU"s when you came home. I admire our unspoken understanding, but I no longer yearn for our late night conversations. Where I once wrote about our "interlaced fingers" and sweet nothings, is being left to collect dust. We may have fit together perfectly once upon a time, but we've grown out love.
tara love / the colours that i could only see with you, i recognize everywhere on my own now

I’ll wait
dream after dream after dream I see you...
you - fading, soft ebbing, sweet
I hold my breath or I'll breathe all of you in
you swim into my eyes from places far away
you swim into my dreams
and just like that I slowly curl around you
and we sink into each other
dream after dream after dream.

Two poems by the late and lovely @lzlabs
June Music
Play me like the month of June let me slip inside your smile grow lilacs in your heart
Play me like there’s no tomorrow strum my strings as my body sings acapella
Play me like keys of ivory while the moon smiles down dancing in the month of June
.
Empty Vessel
Spilled like the sun at daybreak  a maze of empty verse, follow you must  flow with the curve  of every jeweled line.  With pens that mark  with stains of blue,  fill this empty vessel  with pages, words  and you…

Documentary
I am the sum of angles, she, houses divided
Our kismet supernovae, the heat of worlds colliding
I sing beneath your crashing waves upon my temple
A breath under the trees which helps to keep my tempo
In this life, every little stone upturns biology
Our foreheads wrinkled by all the universe we’ve studied
I fall into her open arms, when navigation runs aground
We paint in watercolors, fall asleep amid the sounds
Our palette is of flavors raw and sweet yet unrefined
Our hearts a mineral, leaving fossils yet to mine
As if the chairs of gods could ever stave our thirst to leap
Would you believe it if I caught you falling off your feet
All the hours we consume, every moment, me and you
Swept away into the dunes, every leaf makes a cocoon
The curves and crossroads
Our love is guided from the shoulders
Forever running downhill
Carving mountains into boulders
And though the trek is slippery, we hike to find such greenery
No podiums, no third degree, and every note a symphony

Close Your Eyes
Close your eyes, I can’t take them anymore
they’re so sharp it stings.
I can’t begin to describe how much splendour
seeing you brings.
-
Close your eyes because I'm done.
Take me back to '99,
when we kids and we had fun.
Take me back to when things were fine.
-
Close your eyes and imagine
you and I making amends,
seeing far into the distance
and all the bad stuff ends.

it can be clean like this,
crystal gaze through grass blade frostbite in rainy december.
his lips finding my cheek like a cat finding its warm bed
over and over and over
and over again,
curving to fit my body,
curling around me because he wants to.
love means: even though you aren’t doing so well right now.
they are outside smoking
or else
talking puffs of speech
thrown away forever.
i like to pull my own feet out from underneath me,
get sick and tired of sleeping in my bed,
go back and beg for forgiveness
but really
begging for kisses.
i sometimes wonder
about that other life i once had,
the ashes of which blew away with last summer’s fires.
now i can stop faking
and take my pills
and forget.

Age to Age
Someday, I know, the words will fail      To speak things both you and I              can comprehend.
But until that time, when age and     love so blur the senses and reason          goes absent without leave,
I will love you with word and tongue,      in deed and in truth,  Out of both a conscious choice,        and absolute necessity.

‘how do you spell home,’ i asked
like flowers that wither within words/ like daydreams that feel alive/ like blackholes that breathe in colours/ like memories wrapped in silk & blade/ like words a wounded ocean saved from drowning/ like metaphors collected inside an empty vessel/ like you & me, she would say
home is everything the left chamber of your heart refuses to let go.

The Beautiful Opposite
I have never understood
the beauty of the unexpected
until I met you.
That different look in your eyes -
a blend of inherent gentleness
with the right amount of grit.
It has made me abandon my norm,
ignore a number of my preferences
and love the mystery of the unknown.
I have kept my heart safe,
but the risk of your temptation,
it was so hard to break.
In that moment, I knew -
you will never leave me in this lifetime
and the next.
Because I know I will never stop searching,
I will never stop searching
for my beautiful opposite that is you.
