The Sky Was Golden
The sky was golden, it was good that day.
We saw a fox stroll into the woods of gray.
The sun was closing and we couldn't stay.
I loved you then but I would not say.
The sky was golden and we were both okay.
They asked why, I told'em, "there's no other way".
The cards you hide, I show'em, in utter display.
I'm going to climb into the open, starting today.
The sky was golden and we were both okay.

10.000
This is my 10.000th post. Which means a fuckton of poetry, some flowers, some bullshittery, and some random posts from the early days when I started this blog never intending to write poetry. That was 2015. Time flies.
I want to commemorate the late Lauren ( @lzlabs ), who was, and, to me, will always be the beating heart and backbone of this poets’ community. Without her support I would have never found the love for poetry, and in that the catalyst to maintaining my mental health and sanity. I am forever grateful.
Friends came, and went. Often simply disappearing. To old friends that stuck around, I am so happy you did, and that you keep blowing my mind with most excellent poetry. Of course the same goes for new friends. The Tumblr writing community has always been kind to me. I’d list names, but I can’t live with the risk of forgetting one, so I’ll just say: you know who you are.
And for all, the saying goes:
“I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.” — I know I’m not much of a talker, or a smooth DM’er (I thrived when we only had asks back in the day), but I’m glad you guys forgive me my hopeless formality and introversion. I try to show my appreciation by sharing your work.
Let’s celebrate! I’ll crack open a cold one on you and Tumblr. Cheers. Humor me by sending an ask, if you will.
>>> Ask me anything <<<
* Edit: I always see people getting cool badges for these milestones, but I’ve got no clue how to get my hands on one of those, so I’ll just share this:

Good Morning Poetry!
and the sun that rises...
...is the sun that sets
ushers in twilight and moonlight
a skyfull of stars that never forgets
to lead us, to guide us...
inspire and provide us...
with hope, with promises
reality of dreams come true
for me, for you...
all we need to....
is keep our faith
and hold onto what's true
looking out into the great blue
...we are what's possible
achievers who can do...
We are the creatives, the movers, the poets, writers, artists....expressors of what's often unseen and invisible, overlooked and unrecognized by the masses!
Here's to the world's we delve into with our imagination and paint to welcome others in...
Cheers to you

In your eyes the eventide above
the moon’s grey somber
etiolates the light
           of Light
the stuttering of wind, capturing them
           in a pallor of sun,
           causing their color (a sanctuary
           violet)
To reveal your heart in uncounted
           numbers of life and death
           We, no longer afraid,
           no longer refrain where
Voices echo in the long canyons,
           the amulet golds
and Moroccan umbers
Discovering your blush
           in a contemplation of hues,
befalling all my love for you.

Two poems by the late and lovely @lzlabs
June Music
Play me like the month of June let me slip inside your smile grow lilacs in your heart
Play me like there’s no tomorrow strum my strings as my body sings acapella
Play me like keys of ivory while the moon smiles down dancing in the month of June
.
Empty Vessel
Spilled like the sun at daybreak  a maze of empty verse, follow you must  flow with the curve  of every jeweled line.  With pens that mark  with stains of blue,  fill this empty vessel  with pages, words  and you…

Our beautiful Lauren @lzlabs @lzlabseesu
She has passed on.
So generous of spirit, such a beautiful poetic heart.
Like Mike, I did always look forward to her morning poetry posts.
I believe she is somewhere with fragrant flowers and painted skys.
Thank you Lauren for sharing your light with us all. ❤

Seen by You
(for Lauren)
We know that no star in the revolving clusters above us is fixed
and that every beginning means an ending.
Yet sometimes we imagine the indelible light at someone's core
enough to keep them whole, their presence
forever where their fingertips, their smile, can reach us instead
of everywhere.
You made your way into what makes this world, this life, a delight,
particles of you in everything that lets us
witness each other, in words, in watching, in touching without touch
all that renders us human, perfectly flawed.
Stardust returns to make more stars, and you rest in our bones.

Bodily
Bodily fluid through the streets,
I tried my best; now I'm full.
Sleep for two tonight, not me.
Disregard it all and move on.
I'll pretend this hurt via inklings.
Bodily harm,
I saw you cutting in your dreams.
One thing is;
stop drinking poison in hopes others die.

Lauren
The sky is crying.
It misses the morning sun,
Sprinkling poetry,
Sharing words and wisdom,
Encouraging growth.
The sky is darker now,
Almost black,
But for all of the candles
Held by struggling poets
Whose words you read,
Whose voices you heard,
Whose hearts you shared.
You are sorely missed.
The sun will return,
Until then we hold our candles
And remember you.
The sky is crying,
And so am I.

I’ll miss you @lzlabs, one of my first readers and encouragers. Thanks for all the poetry, all the encouragement, all the reblogs and all the amazing poets you shared on @lzlabseesu. A beautiful soul gone far too soon, I’m glad to have known you 💚💚💚

Poetry Is An Act of Love
poetry heals
stitches open wounds
caresses broken spirits
shines light into fierce darkness
just a few simple, authentic lines
empowers
saves lives
oftentimes feels divine
intervention
of the most interpersonal kind
can lift
pull depression
from a heavy state of mind
poetry is a saviour
bravery of the rarest find
courage inside
read it, absorb it, soak it in
write it from deep beneath your skin
share fears
what terrorizes, what tears
get naked, who fucking cares
this is how healing will begin
be it virtue, be it riddled with sin
spill it, spit it, kick it out, throw it up
poetry is a hopeful act of love
do it for yourself
do it for the world
do it just because
poetry is love
poetry is our most beautiful
work of heart
art of expression
to fight oppression, lift repression
it's a beacon in darkest night
poetry is the way
stealth weapon
peaceful warriors
use to win
against all odds
poetry is love

For Lauren
The morning was so bright when the day dawned for your words infused this world with such gratitude, such hope
Kindness, an everblossoming flower in your mouth; your hands so full of love
Spread your wings now sweet angel and fly home
Knowing the world knew beauty because of your words.
e.v.e.
It is with a heavy heart that I heard of Lauren's passing. Few did so much for this poetry community as her. Always kind and generous. She will be sorely missed.

Ten Years After (12-03-10)
A very young heart at fifty-two Tumblr was strangely exiting and new cluelessly calling it Plumbr for a while even now that memory makes me smile 100 followers was my impossible desire I’d show them all then quietly retire as you can see it didn’t work out that way leaving me blessed and surprised to be here today I made wonderful friends over the years a few were taken and yes there were tears some days we laughed so hard we cried others we shared feelings long trapped inside while often wishing it would stay the same life as is its way loves changing the game not yet but when this affair inevitably ends I only pray I’m remembered for loving my friends
