white thorn
she's just like the plucking edge of a bramble
place her anywhere and she'll prick
someone transfixed by her bloom
and cause bleeding
if you don't put her in the right place
you'll have the bear the consequences
if she causes too much trouble
someone may want to pull her out
a foolish man should do foolish things
and maybe this talk doesn't put you at ease
but sometimes only risky moves can break an impasse
she may find herself in a limiting situation now
but she'll never live a life of confinement
her being needs the sun and liberated winds
her thorny vines reach for and stretch at
whatever they can entangle themselves in
the rose is not her final bloom
or any of the first in spring
to eyes hungry for color and life
the rose is her tangled roots and sharp grasping vines
the leaves like feathers gathering the sun
dormant in the winter and dreaming
awakened when dew stops
appearing as the dusty sparkling frost
anger is a beautiful storm that
rips at your chest
shatters in the twister
and reminds you again
all lost and avoided sorrow
in the future bleeds into rage

To Your Neverland
If the sky was a giant canvas,
I would paint a portrait of you
With the stars,
Not with the clouds which form
Majestic shapes-
Clear to the eyes.
Although I would like
the whole world to see it.
I’d still choose the stars,
That glints like hope on dark nights.
The kind of hope you’re to me.
I’d still choose the stars,
That sparkle the way your eyes do,
The way mine does when I think of you.
To love you is like admiring-
The reflection of the moon in a lake.
Moon that has almost fallen in it,
And I could hold it in my palms.
So, I would fill them with water-
To carry the moon in it.
But for how long could I hold it?
I know that the moon is far-far away,
Out of my reach.
Yet I look at it fondly,
And smile like the moon itself,
The crescent one.
When I come back home on a burning may afternoon,
And plop in the coolest corner of my room-
Under chilling air–
Sipping on ice-topped lemonade.
That’s the kind of comfort I feel with you.
Like chocolates and ramen-
My go-to comfort food when I feel low.
An instant remedy for happiness.
You are the only ray of moonlight,
That could somehow reach me,
At the depths of the sea.
A blessing given to me when I told God,
To give me what he thinks is best–
When I did not know what to pray for,
Thinking I had all I could ever ask for.
So what if you are in such a land,
I've known through newspapers.
A Neverland lost in the course of history.
I am searching for pixie dust–
So I could fly like Peter Pan
To Your Neverland.

He held her talent, her beauty, her success, but not her. He will bear the rose but not her. Even in death, he has no grasp of the thorns that she carried cause he never held her.
- If he is to lower me into my grave, it will be the gentlest I’ve been let down by any man. But no matter, the end result will be the same.
