One day, one rhyme- Day 3751
An undercover anchorman
Will still read out the news,
But does it crouched under his desk
Muttered into his shoes…

An undercover bakery
Still serves up cakes and bread,
But they sell them in secrecy
Out of the garden shed…

One day, one rhyme- Day 3749
An undercover gardener
Keeps shrubs pruned, beds weed free,
And all the while in camouflage-
They dress up as a tree.

An undercover carpenter,
Stealthy by night and day,
Puts up frames and facades, but waits
Until you look away.

An undercover engineer
Lays girders smidge by smidge,
All the while wearing steel grey clothes
To blend in with the bridge.

An undercover architect
Plans silent as a mouse-
They wait til sunset, build all night,
By sunrise there’s a house!

An undercover referee
I think could be quite fun-
To keep track of all of the scores
And tell them to no one!

Synthetic purple vine berry
Is not to eat, not a cherry
And in tabletop produce knoll:
Fake grapes in an orange fruit bowl.

Atop the garage, one use dish
Holds inside cold and salty fish
The neighbourhood cats flock as proof:

Large gregarious water bird
With long pouch bill seems quite interred
Upon fallen tree limb in bog:
A pelican sat on a log.

Ceilings would be quite a bit scuffed,
And fragile trinkets would be stuffed;
Cobwebs could be removed briskly,
And cooking would be quite a risky;
Would be tricky sifting flours,
Not to mention taking showers;
All upper windows would need screens:
If floors were made of trampolines.

On the big dipper sat bestride:

This tube can make far things look near,
But as all things, mistakes appear-
Pointing it at this star is one:
Telescope pointed at the sun.

I’m no explorer devout, nor one to scout about for a workout. Too far out, and my doubts begin to sprout, until I must turnabout. I’m more of a hideout hangabout than a checkout flout. Once I was locked out without keys, and I had a pout like sauerkraut. Thankfully Bru came with a stout bout of knockout break-in skills, and I played lookout ‘til we got back inside!

Fast food heavyweight does transfix;
What will happen? Keep your eyes peeled:
Hamburger on a hockey field.

Plastic shoes will keep your feet dry,
But their contents make you ask why;
Small purple flowers on green shoots:
Lavender sprigs in some gumboots.
