The Disability Library

I love books, I love literature, and I love this blog, but it's only been recently that I've really been given the option to explore disabled literature, and I hate that. When I was a kid, all I wanted was to be able to read about characters like me, and now as an adult, all I want is to be able to read a book that takes us seriously.

And so, friends, Romans, countrymen, I present, a special disability and chronic illness booklist, compiled by myself and through the contributions of wonderful members from this site!

Bloodreina - The New Avenger Chapter Two (The 100/Marvel)

Prologue || Chapter One

Summary: The 100 AU in the Marvel Universe What if Octavia and Bellamy joined the Avengers after escaping HYDRA’s Ark Project? Set after the Battle of New York.

Pairings: All platonic for now: Steve x Octavia, Avengers x Octavia, Bellamy x Octavia, Bellamy x Raven, Octavia x Raven, Boodreina x Winter Soldier, more to come soon…

Warnings: Bad writing maybe? (sorry about that)

A/N: We are finally getting a glimpse of Octavia’s past, in the Ark, and the people she dealt with, specially our beloved deadly assassin Winter Soldier…

Chapter Two - Winter is Coming

“Session number 4, subject Octavia Blake” Fury said out loud, leading off another recorded session. Since they joined SHIELD, one of Fury’s conditions was that once a week Octavia would join him for the course of an hour, and she would tell give him all the information she had about the Ark, the missions she executed for HYDRA and the assets she came in contact with. “Last session, we talked about the day they took you and the serum. Now, let’s talk about your training”

“The serum did not work as they expected, my body didn’t suffer physical changes, but inside, everything was hyped” Octavia started, her voice nonchalant, as if she was telling a story from a book “I was taken to a cell everyday, where my tutor would beat me up until I defended myself, or passed out” Octavia brought her eyes down to her hands as she spoke that last part, the pain inflicted to her all those years ago still very present in her mind

“Who was he?”

“They only called him “the asset”. I was not allowed to address him during training, but during the missions we were assigned he answered to Soldat, or soldier” Octavia closed her eyes briefly, the mere mention of the name giving her chills “he only spoke to give me orders, in both Russian or English. He was a machine, very precise and brutal, his strength and speed enhanced by the serum, without a doubt. He had a metal arm, complete from shoulder to hand.”

Present day

In the distance, Octavia could hear the sounds of machines beeping while the doctors worked on Fury. The sound was barely an echo, and her eyes were focused on nothing. She had become numb a lifetime ago, when she became Bloodreina, the Red Queen. Her life was blood and death, and to love, to mourn, only the weak could afford.

“Is he gonna make it?” Natasha asked as she entered the room, coming to stand by Octavia’s side, in front of the window. Her voice was shaking, and Octavia could tell that the man meant a lot to the spy.

“I don't know” Octavia simply stated

“Rogers, tell me about the shooter.”

“He's fast and strong. Had a metal arm.” Could he be…?

“Ballistics?”

“Three slugs, no rifling. Completely untraceable.” Maria said, coming closer to the group

“Soviet-made.” Octavia concluded, to surprise of everyone in the room. All eyes were now on her, and as she was about to speak the sound of the machines alerted them to Fury’s body shutting down. Doctors worked fast, to no use. After a few shocks with the defibrillator, the flatline in the screen persisted.

“Time of death, 1:03 a.m.”

Octavia waited outside the room while the other three agents said their farewell to the director. She wanted to feel sad for the loss of the man, she truly wanted, but she felt nothing. So, she stood in the hallway, leaned against the wall, until she heard Steve’s voice calling out Natasha. The woman came rushing from the room, the super-soldier right behind her.

“Why was Fury in your apartment?” Natasha asked him straightforward

“I don't know.” Steve replied. But he was lying.

Rumlow approached the group, turning his attention to the soldier “Cap, they want you back at SHIELD.”

“Yeah, give me a second”

“They want you now” he insisted, his voice more desperate this time.

“Okay” Steve shut him down, annoyance cleared in his tone. He turned to Natasha, who stared a him with a sad smile “You're a terrible liar” she simply stated before walking away from them.

Octavia was about to do the same when she felt Steve’s grip on her arm holding her in her place “Fury said not to trust in anyone” he said, as his hand roamed down from her forearm towards her hand “But my guts tell me I can trust you” he sat something small in her palm, before squeezing it shut with his hand “Go home, I’ll call you as soon as I can”

“Okay” she replied, her eyes focused on their joined hands, as his gaze lingered on her “Stay safe” he finally said, turning around, walking away from her and towards the STRIKE team

She stood motionless until they were all out of her sight. Then, slowly, she opened her hand, revealing a flash-drive in her palm, the same flash-drive they had collected the intel from the Lemurian Star.

“That was sweet” Natasha’s voice ringed in Octavia’s ear. She was caught off guard, never realizing the spy was watching so closely, and as she turned around to face her, the red-haired swiftly stole the pen from her hand, backing away from her reach

“Give it back!” Octavia hissed, trying to reach for it, but Natasha dodged “Why did Steve gave this to you?” she said, as sh inspected the pen

“Cause he trusts me” Octavia stated with a proud tone. Natasha’s face dropped

“But you don’t trust me” the spy smiled sadly. Natasha had trained Octavia since she joined SHIELD, and after all those hours together, days actually, Octavia still had no idea who the woman was. Still, she had seen the way she mourned Fury, silent tears rolling down her face, and she knew, deep inside, the same way Steve knew he could trust her, Octavia could trust in Natasha.

“I want to” Octavia said, and Natasha froze. She took advantage of that few seconds to retrieve the flash-drive, hiding it away in the inside pocket of her jacket.

“How do you know the Winter Soldier?”

The name made Octavia stop dead in her tracks. She turned her attention back to the other woman, who was gazing her in wonder “He was my mentor, back in the Ark”

“Do you know how to track him?” Natasha asked, expectantly

“No, it’s like chasing a ghost” Octavia said, looking down at her hand. Whatever was in that flash-drive, would lead them to him “but let’s find out what he wants”

“Don’t you want to wait for the Captain?” Natasha’s smile was devious, which made Octavia rolled her eyes to her

“I think we can handle this by ourselves”

The two women made their way through the mall, dressed in hoodies and jeans, blending in the crowd. Steve was already waiting, leaning against a wall. He had called Octavia when they were on their way there, after he ran out of SHIELD. He was now a wanted man, a traitor. They agreed on meeting on a public place, it would be easier to access the flash-drive and make it out before the STRIKE team could get to them.

Steve walked fast towards them, as they made their way to the MAC store

“First rule of going on the run is, don't run, walk.” Natasha greeted him, jokingly

“If I run in these shoes, they're gonna fall off.” Steve mocked, as both girls cracked a laugh. They approach an isolated computer, and Octavia handled Natasha the flash-drive. From the three of them, she was the one with the most hacking expertise.

“The drive has a Level Six homing program, so as soon as we boot up SHIELD will know exactly where we are.” Natasha knowingly stated

“How much time do we have?” Steve asked, setting himself by her left side, while Octavia stood on her right

“Uh...about nine minutes from...” Natasha popped the flash-drive into the computer, initiating the program “Now” she worked the keyboard, trying to gain access to the drive “Fury was right about that ship, somebody's trying to hide something. This drive is protected by some sort of AI, it keeps rewriting itself to counter my commands.”

“Can you override it?” Octavia asked

“The person who developed this is slightly smarter than me. Slightly. I'm gonna try running a tracer. This is a program that SHIELD developed to track hostile malware, so if we can't read the file, maybe we can find out where it came from.”

“Can I help you guys with anything?” a voice called them, their focus shifted from the screen towards a male Apple employee.

Natasha was fast in her thought “Oh, no. My fiance and sis was just helping me with some honeymoon destinations.”

“Right! We're getting married.”

“Congratulations. Where do you guys thinking about going?”

Octavia looked at the monitor, seeing the signal traced to somewhere in New Jersey “The lovebirds are going to New Jersey!”

Steve frowned at her. Traitor. It takes everything in her willpower not to ruin their cover, and laugh in Steve’s face.

“Oh” the employee said, as he looked at Steve for a few moments. Did he recognize him? “I have the exact same glasses!”

“Wow, you two are practically twins.” Octavia mocked, aloof to the man

“Yeah, I wish. Specimen. Uh...if you guys need anything, I've been Aaron.”

“Thank you” Steve said, as the man, Aaron, walked away, and he turned his attention back at the spy “You said nine minutes, come on”

“Shh, relax. Got it! ...Wheaton, NJ. You know it?”

“I used to. Let's go” Steve pulled the flash drive from the computer and they walk out of the store.

“Meet me in the south-side exit. I’ll get us a car” Octavia said, as she walked away from them.

After a few minutes of waiting for Steve and Nat in her newly possessed vehicle, both agents left the building hurriedly, Steve’s face red as a tomato “What happened?” Octavia asked, as Steve sat in the passengers seat without a word, and Natasha got into the backseat, smiling widely.

“I think Rogers had his first kiss since the war”

"Bellamy?"

Bellamy turned to hear his sister's voice after he watched TChalla and Groot disappear into ash, he saw Octavia holding up her hand as it began to disintegrate.

"O?"

Bellamy ran as he caught her as she collapsed into his arms hugging him, "Bell- don't let me go! Please, I'm scared- Don't let go!" She pleaded terrified of the darkness.

He held onto her tears welling up in his eyes, "O- please..." As his pleads barely left his mouth Octavia Blake became non-existent in his arms...

TITAN

Clarke walked with the group towards the Guardian's ship, she was having issues with her side that was no longer bleeding thanks to Stark helping her but still it hurt like a bitch.

Madi was back near Peter talking to him about the fight, Clarke noticed her little crush on Stark's prodigy, it was kind of cute actually. She swears Stark is already planning their wedding.

Madi came up to her as she gave her a worried look, "you okay?"

Clarke caressed her cheek, "I'm okay," she smiled, "how's your head?"

Madi had gotten hit by Thanos, making Clarke freak out and hit him with a power blast, protective mother mode man.

"It's okay," she smiled, "it's not bad anymore, I'm thriving."

"Good girl."

Mantis looked up, "something's happening?"

They looked at her as suddenly she disappeared into dust.

Everyone jumped back expecting this as Clarke grabbed onto Madi's arm.

"Quill?"

Drax was next as he became dust.

"C-Clarke what is happening?" Madi asked.

Clarke shook her head, "T-Thanos-"

"Steady Quill," Tony tried.

"Oh man."

Just like that he disappeared too.

"Stark," Clarke called as the man looked at her, she shook her head scared for herself and more importantly Madi.

"C-Clarke?"

She turned as she saw Madi's left arm start to turn to dust.

"NO!"

She reached for her child as she turned to dust at her finger tips.

She froze as she felt her knees collapse under her feet.

Madi...

No...

Not her...

Why couldn't it have been me?

5 YEARS LATER

Clarke pulled her hair back in a pony tail as she sat on the counter taking a drink of her whiskey, she took a deep breath feeling sad again. It's been 5 years but her hearts still shattered.

She lives at the Avengers Compound with Natasha, it's better than being alone...

"You okay?"

She closed her eyes feeling annoyed, "I don't need a therapy session Steve."

Steve just leaned against the door frame, "I'm not here as a therapist I'm here as a friend."

"Well your friend is busy."

"Busy drinking?"

She just gave him a look as he smiled, "don't become Bellamy, please, I know who you are, you would never waste your life. You are a hero, Clarke."

"A failure you mean."

"Don't say that, we couldn't stop him, but that doesn't mean we can't move on."

"Move on?!" Clarke suddenly threw the whiskey at the wall as Steve frowned, she put her head in her hands.

"Clarke..."

"Look I'm sorry alright?" She whispered not looking up, "it's just... It doesn't feel like it's been five years since Thanos did what he did. It's like I'm watching the world slowly go back to the way it was but I'm just stuck... I lost everything that day, my friends... My daughter. I lost and I'm still lost. How am I supposed to move on? How are we supposed to move on? After so many people are gone because of our failure?"

"It's hard," Steve told her as tears fell, "but we have to find a way to move on, I tell that to the group everyday so yes it's a force of habit but I know we can. We lost, yes, but we are still here. The world is in our hands."

Clarke closed her eyes.

"I just wish we could go back..."

"Let me get this straight," Bellamy began after they explained the idea of time travel to him, "you're telling me that you all want to go back in time before the snap and bring them all back?"

They all stared at him as he became angry, he had been getting drunk none stop since the Snap so he was very much drunk, "you expect me to believe this shit?!"

Raven looked at him, "Scott thinks there's a way too-"

"To what?" He hissed, "bring back billions and billions of dead people? You are all insane!"

Steve stepped up, "son, you need to listen to us-"

He hit his hand off his shoulder, "do not call me son, I'm not your son so stop acting like a concerned father Everytime you see me! I lost my sister and Ive accepted i can't bring her back!"

"By drinking all the time?" Raven asked.

"I don't expect you to understand Raven, you didn't lose your other half!"

Raven looked down as she looked at Nat who sat quietly.

"Bellamy," Clarke walked in, it had taken her a minute as well to believe but now she does, "we can't let Thanos get away with this, we can bring Octavia back, we can bring Madi back," a hopeful smile spread on her lips.

Bellamy breathed heavily, "Clarke..." He hadn't seen her in almost a year, it was strange seeing her again, her hair was longer a little under her shoulders, she looked good all things considered.

With that Bellamy walked out as they all sighed.

"He'll come around," Natasha spoke, "with Tony on board, we can do this and he'll see that there is hope."

Clarke nodded, hope... Yes, that's what she needs. Hope to get everyone back. To give Madi her future. That's all that matters.

Whatever it takes.

"So all we have to do is go back and get the stones before Thanos gets them," Scott recapped as they stood in the time travel suits on the Quantum Tunnel.

"Is that all?" Clarke asked chuckling nervously.

"No time for humor," Steve says, "we all have our missions, get the stones and bring them back, we are all going to a place we may know but doesn't mean we should expect what is coming. We all have our missions, get it done."

"He's pretty good at that."

"Right?"

Raven and Natasha was hanging back as the others were on this Time Heist.

Clarke's helmet turned on as she felt the Quantum Tunnel swallow her as well as her team!

They traveled to their each targets as Clarke and Bellamy traveled to 2014 with Nebula and Rhodey.

"Be safe," Rhodey tells Clarke as he engulfed the girl he cared about in a hug.

"You too, Rhodey," Clarke smiled.

Bellamy gave Nebula a half hug as she had really helped him along the way of losing his sister, "come back safely."

"You too," Nebula said as she nodded.

"Watch eachothers six!"

Clarke and Bellamy smiled at their friend as they always watched eachothers backs, she placed a hand on his shoulder smiling at Bellamy as they got into the ship.

They sat in the flyers seats watching as space went by, Clarke smiled in wonder as Bellamy looked at her admiring her, "we are far from the drop ship, Princess."

Clarke and Bellamy arrived on Vormir, it was a beautiful but eerie place, a place that Clarke would never want to stay on- it seemed like death and she didn't want to be forever surrounded in that.

They climbed the mountain getting tired as they reached the top.

"I bet the raccoon didn't have to climb a mountain," Bellamy groaned.

Clarke laughed, "yeah well, they always give us the /fun/ adventures."

"Welcome," suddenly they both got in stance against the person who spoke, "Clarke daughter of Jake."

Clarke stiffened at the mention of her father.

"Bellamy son of Markus."

Bellamy shifted at the mention of his father he only knew as his biological father after his death.

"Who are you?" Bellamy ordered for answers.

"I am like you," Red Skull told them, "I am someone who also seeked the stones but i wasn't worthy and they left me as someone who only gave others safe passage to the stones."

Bellamy glanced at Clarke who was also confused, "we didn't ask for a history lesson, red face."

"Where's the Soul Stone?" Clarke asked cutting to the chase eager to get Madi back.

"It is here."

Red Skull led them to a cliff edge.

"Its down there?" Bellamy asked.

"What lies infront of you is what you seek but also what you fear," Red Skull told them, "to get the Stone requires eternal sacrifice- a soul," Bellamy and Clarke looked at eachother, "for a soul."

"I dont understand," Clarke spoke as she turned, "how do we get the Soul Stone?"

"And actually explain it please," Bellamy told him.

"To get the Soul Stone you must lose what you love," Red Skull told them, "it demands a sacrifice, a soul for a soul, eternal sacrifice..."

Clarke Griffin and Bellamy Blake both realized what he had meant as they felt their stomachs fall.

Clarke sat in denial her mind thinking about what had to be done and Bellamy was in denial trying to annoy Red skull.

"Hello!" He waved at him chuckling, "haha, fucking bullshit," he shook his head as he looked at Clarke, "this is bullshit, he's hiding the stone, this has to be a trick."

Clarke shook her head, "I don't think so..."

"Why?" Bellamy questioned, "Clarke, this isnt a sacrifice situation, we have to fight for this. This is our stand."

"No," she stood, "Thanos came here with Gamora, he left without her and with the Soul Stone! How do you think he got it!"

Bellamy stood their wordless.

"Eternal sacrifice," Clarke repeated, "a soul for a soul."

Bellamy took a heavy breath, looking down, he remembered his sister, "my sister, my responsibility... Whatever it takes."

Clarke smiled sadly, "whatever it takes."

Bellamy met Clarke's eyes, "Clarke... I have to tell you something," he took a deep breath deciding to admit what he had hid for so long, soon his time will come to an end for his sister, "I-"

"I love you," Clarke spoke first her heart pounding out of her chest, "I know... I should have told you so many times but now- now it's too late, I can't die before I tell you-"

He cut off her rambling by pulling her into a kiss, his arm around her waist as she touched his face kissing him back.

"I love you too," Bellamy told her a smile on his face as Clarke rested her forehead to his, "but i won't let you die for me, Clarke, you don't deserve that, you deserve a future with Madi."

Clarke shook her head, "Bellamy no, no," she grabbed his arm, "I won't let you do that! You need to live your life and be happy! I have done too many bad things to live on, let me do this, let Wanheda become the sacrifice."

"Clarke," Bellamy shook his head touching her face pulling her closer, "you judge yourself too harshly, i see the real you, you are so beautiful inside and out, you make a better man because I want to better for you! I can't let you die for me, not after all the times I left you. Clarke, you are my family, my life, and my love, I won't let you die."

Clarke felt tears fall as she kissed him crying as she did so.

He wiped her tears as she kissed back, "I love you," he told her.

"I love you too," Clarke cried, damn you, Blake," she slapped his chest not that hard, "you win... You win."

Bellamy smiled tears falling as he kissed her cheek lovingly. He turned towards the cliff taking a deep breath.

Suddenly Clarke shock lashed him making him fall!

"I'm sorry, I lost everyone else I've loved, I won't let you die too."

Clarke told him as she took a running start all of a sudden Bellamy got up as he shot a blast as her feet making her fall to the side!

Bellamy got up, "it's okay, Princess, our time is up."

He started to run as Clarke watched him in fear, his eyes locked with hers as he jumped off the Cliff!

Clarke suddenly jumped off the Cliff as she grabbed onto Bellamy!

They both fell as Bellamy hit the wire on his belt to catch them!

His hand grasped Clarke's as he held her as tightly as he could!

"No!" Bellamy tried to pull on the wire, "no! This isnt- no!"

"Bellamy..." Clarke whispered, she felt tears fall as she locked eyes with him, "I love you."

"Please no... Clarke please! I need you! The heart and the head!"

"The heart and the head," Clarke smiled sadly.

She suddenly kicked the Cliff pushing her body back as her hand fell from Bellamy's as he screamed for her!

She felt herself falling as Bellamy screamed as loudly as he could at the top of his lungs.

Clarke hit the ground as her body broke under the fall- dying slowly from blood loss and her soul fell into a darkness...

Bellamy cried as he couldn't tear his eyes off of his soulmate as he cried as suddenly a white light engulfed him!

Bellamy woke up in water as he sat up, his mind a fuzz as he looked at his hand that something glowing in it, he opened seeing the soul stone!

Tears fell, as Bellamy clutched it to his chest close to his heart crying as he screwed his eyes shut his mind all over the place...

The Time Heist came back to present as Bellamy stood there soaked in water and depression washed over him, his partner no longer by his side which was quickly noticed by the others.

"Bellamy," Rhodey realized, "where's Clarke?"

Bellamy couldn't look at them as his hand gripped the soul stone...

Everyone fell silent knowing what happened...

Clarke Griffin had sacrificed herself.

The Commander of Death had fallen.

Whatever it takes indeed.

Rogue - Chapter Two

“The first rule of going on the run is don’t run, walk.” I calmly state as I notice Steve picking up his pace.

“If I run in these shoes, they’re gonna fall off.” He retorted

I snorted at this and when I looked at Natasha, she was also trying to suppress a smile from showing. We quickly looked away from each other, avoiding eye contact.

“Where are we going anyways?” Inquired Steve, breaking the silence.

“The Apple store, duh.” I responded, rolling my eyes. We’d already gone over the plan numerous times, except someone here decided to not pay attention.

~ Flash Forward ~

“The drive has a level six homing program, so as soon as we boot up S.H.I.E.L.D. will know exactly where we are.” I stated, hacking on one of the computers in the Apple Store.

“How much time will we have?” Steve asked.

“About nine minutes from... now.” I say, inserting the flash drive into the computer.

I begin hacking into the flash drive, and I pull up the schematics for one of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Helicarriers.

“Fury was right about those ships,” states Natasha as she looks over my shoulder. “Somebody’s trying to hide something.”

“That’s strange,” I absentmindedly say aloud.

“What is it?” Steve demands.

“This drive, it’s protected by some sort of AI,” I say. “It keeps on rewriting itself to counter my commands.” I was beginning to get really pissed off.

“Can you override it?” Steve demands once more.

“The person who developed this is slightly smarter than me.” I snap at him. “Slightly.” I emphasize.

The corner of Natasha’s mouth twitches as she resists the urge to smirk at me.

“Well that’s a first.” She sassily replies; a ghost of a smirk on her lips.

“Oh go fuck yourself Nat.” I say, accidentally calling her by her past nickname.

We quickly look away from each other, red forming on both of our cheeks.

“Language, Stark!” He snaps at me, not noticing my shoulders tensing. I hear a sharp intake of breath from Natasha.

Before he can even process what’s happening, I have a knife at his throat and a blaze in my eyes.

“Call me that again and I’ll do more than have you at knife point, super soldier or not.” I threaten him.

As quickly as I pulled it out, I conceal my switchblade back inside my hoodie- disguise pocket and continue trying to hack into the S.H.I.E.L.D. database, ignoring the intense heat of Natasha’s emerald glare.

Suddenly it hit me.

“I’m gonna try running a tracer,” I announce. “This is a program that S.H.I.E.L.D. developed to track hostile malware, so if we can’t read the file maybe we can find out where it’s coming from!” I happily inform them.

My happiness soon came to an end when a voice came from our side.

“Can I help you guys with anything?” A blonde Apple employee in his mid 30s asked us.

“Oh, no, my fiancée was just helping me with some honeymoon destinations,” I respond quickly, thinking on my feet. I grab Natasha’s hand and she only looks a little surprise. Steve’s face however is priceless. “And my brother-in-law here, Simon was our ride here.” I say, painting a bright smile on my face.

“Oh congratulations guys- uh... I mean- gals?” He said, making a fool out of himself.

Natasha and I faked a painful laugh.

“Haha, yeah. We get that all the time, no worries!” She joyfully says, reassuring the man.

“So where are you guys headed?” He asks, changing the topic.

“Um...” I respond, my eyes flickering to the computer screen not wanting him to see it.

Luckily, it’s Steve who saves us.

“New Jersey.” He responds, although slightly unsure.

“Oh.” He simply responds, silently questioning our honeymoon destination choice.

All of the sudden he started walking towards us even more, and his facial expression appeared to be... wonder? Realization? Had he recognized the infamous Captain America? Were we found out? All of these thoughts swam around my brain as I internally panicked, although my face showed no sign of emotion.

“...I have the exact same glasses.” The salesperson exclaimed in awe.

“Wow, you two are practically twins.” I sarcastically remarked, a fake smile on my face, still gripping Natasha’s hand.

He gave a hearty laugh. “Haha, yeah I wish! Specimen.” He gestured towards Steve’s obviously hot body. I couldn’t help but smirk at Steve’s awkward reaction.

“Well if you guys need anything, my name’s Aaron.” He told us, thinking we were buddies now or something.

As he walked away, it seemed as if Natasha realized something.

“You said nine minutes, come on.” She said urgently.

“Shh, relax.” I reassure Natasha as I stop tracing the file to gently squeeze her hand.

“Ahem.” A cough comes from Steve as he tries to hurry me up. No one hurries me up.

With newfound determination, I continue furiously hacking the file and tracing its encrypted program. Soon enough, I feel a triumphant feeling make its way throughout my body.

“Got it.” I smirk. Throwing a glance towards Natasha to see her smiling with praise.

I zoom in on the file’s origin location, and see that it’s coming from a town in New Jersey called Wheaton.

“You know it?” I cast a glance towards Natasha and Steve.

A reminiscent expression flits across Steve’s face. “I used to.” He simply says. “Let’s go.”

I quickly pull out the flash drive and we briskly exit the Apple store, hurrying down the Mall’s hallways.

I subtly take in our surroundings, looking for S.H.I.E.L.D. or should I say HYDRA agents. I throw a brief glance to my left and notice that Natasha is doing the same thing. Classic Black Widow.

“Standard Tac Team.” She notes, acting as if there was nothing wrong.

I look around once more and notice two more agents coming towards us.

“Two behind and two across,” I remark nonchalantly. “And two coming straight at us.” Natasha and I both say at the same time. We both try to act as if we didn’t have a care in the world, but I could feel the heat creeping across my face.

“If they make us we’ll engage. Steve, you hit the south escalator to the metro.” Natasha says, looking at Steve and I.

I can see the two HYDRA agents looking around for us, and sooner or later they would see us.

“Shut up and put your arm around me,” I order Natasha, seeing the HYDRA agents getting closer. “Laugh at something I just said.”

“Wait, what?!” Steve glares at me. “What are you talking about?!”

“Do it.” I tell Natasha, ignoring Steve.

She complies, and does exactly what I told her to do. She fakes a laugh that sounds so genuine and familiar I almost stop and blankly stare at her.

As casually and quickly as we can, the three of us make our way towards the escalator with Natasha and I in the front and Steve in the back. (He’s totally third wheeling) When we get onto the escalator, we can hear a gruff and agitated voice speaking into an earpiece, so subtly that the people passing by wouldn’t be able to tell he was even speaking at all.

“Snake the upper levels. Work down to me.” He firmly orders his Tac Team. as he walks onto the escalator next to us, going up.

As our escalator went down, I knew that he would be able to see us and he would directly engage, endangering the public. I could only hope that our hoodies and Steve’s glasses would be able to fool him.

Almost immediately after I saw the Tac Team leader, Natasha spotted him as well. Thinking quickly on her feet, she turned around and whispered to me in her silky voice,

“Kiss me,” She orders me. Funnily enough, the tables have turned.

“What?! Are you guys like dating or something?!” Steve randomly asked, again.

“Public displays of affection make people very uncomfortable.” Natasha tells Steve in a bored voice, as if what she just said was common knowledge.

“Yes, they do.” He mutters under his breath. Natasha and I choose to ignore him.

Understanding where she was going, I nodded and whispered okay back. When he was close enough and looked over to us,

~ Warning: Smut ~

Natasha gently grabbed my face, and leaned down even though we were both the same height, seeing as I was one step on the escalator below her. I melted into the passionate yet soft kiss, succumbing to her fiery kiss. I draped my arms over her shoulders, and clasped them behind her neck.

I could feel my heart beating faster than normal, and my pulse quickening as our tongues fought for dominance. I barely was aware of my surroundings, and my eyes were closed in bliss. I felt her soft, pale fingers gently brush back a lock of hair that had fallen out of my messy bun. I softly moaned in her mouth as her silky fingers brushed against my face. I unclasped my hands from behind her neck, and gripped her fiery locks with them. I felt her soft purr vibrate through my throat and mouth, and I felt a sense of pride at pleasuring her. Nat began to deepen the kiss when a throat cleared from behind us.

“Ahem.” Cap coughed, looking, to my amusement, very uncomfortable.

I smirked back at him and threw him a wink, causing him to turn red. I looked down and noticed we were almost at the end of the escalator. I could just feel the tension in the air around us after me and Nat’s intense make out session. We looked at each other and had to keep from bursting out laughing. It was just like old times, before S.H.I.E.L.D. and before the Avengers.
