Aching gaze staring back at her in the reflection of glass window, melancholic hues of verdant overlooked the Bifrost protruding from the royal palace bathed in starlight below. A deep sigh escapes roseate tiers, laden with sorrows of mourning. Loki had brought her to a point in time where Asgard hadn't fallen to ruin at the hands of Ragnarök.
They stood in her chambers, where she spent majority of her childhood locked away chained to her controlled studies in sorcery with Karnilla standing over her, telling her she only had one fate in store for her once she were free of her: she'd take on Karnilla's role as the Royal Sorceress of Asgard, her future merely consisting of being in complete servitude of whichever prince shall be crowned King of Asgard. By his side, her magic at his every beck and call, performing for civilians and offering her abilities should she ever need to.
In other words, the closest thing she had to a mother spent half of her childhood training her to be a spectacle to be gawked at and a tool to be used whilst Amora spent the remainder of that childhood pertaining little to no self-worth unless she were being lusted after by men and boys alike. She often wondered if she deserved the life she was forced into. And Loki, able to peer into her woes, told her what he felt she really deserved in that moment.
Pensive silence envelops the room as the sorceress reflects over his statement. She then turns, golden tendrils swaying, advancing towards him and wrapping her arms around him in a warm embrace. Her lips brushed against his own in a passionate kiss and when they separated, she nuzzled their noses together affectionately.

Portal to My Heart (Book 1.5) Chapter Eight
Loki x Reader
Chapter Eight: In a Partnership
Summary: (Y/N) and Loki continue their ruse while growing closer all the while.
            As time passed, Thor remained off-world, leaving (Y/N) and Loki to watch over Asgard. Surprisingly, it didn’t go terribly. Yes, there was Loki’s extravagance with a large funeral for himself and a statue dedicated to him (oh, and the numerous plays and songs written for his life), but the pair also set about corralling the nobles that ran a bit too wild with their power over their distracts and lands.
            They worked on better political connections to other realms. Instead of “Odin” being the faraway king of the Nine Realms, they were working on true ties. Were they perfect? No. (Y/N) and Loki were not above trickery to get what they wanted.
            But they were a team. They were careful to keep a front up in public, but behind the scenes, they were scheming up a storm. (Y/N) and Loki understood each other and were both intelligent and cunning. Running Asgard? Not that difficult when the two of them were a team.
            And if they were getting closer and enjoying each other’s company more and more, then that was their business. They…cared.
l
            (Y/N) leaned back in her chair as the noble spoke to Loki. He was going on and on about how he couldn’t pay the slightly higher tax without raising the dues on his people, claiming he was on hard times and couldn’t keep up with Loki’s request for higher nobility taxes in order to have resources for the people.
            “Really, my Lord, I would love nothing more to give more charitably,” said the noble ((Y/N) hadn’t bothered to learn his name. He wasn’t important enough). “But I simply do not have the funds!”
            “Wrong.” (Y/N) leaned forward.
            All eyes turned to her. “Excuse me?” said the noble sharply, offended at a Midgardian speaking up.
            “I said wrong,” said (Y/N). She smirked and leaned her head on her hand. “You have the funds. In fact, you’ve been hoarding it and throwing the different women and men you take to your bed parties and gifting them lavishly.” The noble paled. “So you’re lying. You have the ability to give without suffering any real loss, but you choose not to.”
            “I shall expect your payment forthwith,” said Loki.
            The noble grumbled. “Midgardian…”
            “Yes, Midgardian. And smarter than you,” said (Y/N), not taking the disrespect.
            Loki had to fight a smirk. (Y/N) was quite something when she was taking down people, whether with words or fists. He could watch her do it all day.
l
            (Y/N) carried a basket down into Asgard proper. She felt rather like a Disney princess, but she didn’t mind. She was going to do something good. It didn’t matter if she looked like a princess or a hag.
            (Y/N) passed through Asgard and handed out the palace food she’d brought with her. It wasn’t much, but the kids were happy enough with fresh fruit or the warm bread (Y/N) had stolen from the kitchens.
            She smiled to herself as she saw the kids playing and eating together, relaxed and at peace. (Y/N) was no hero, but she liked seeing their smiles.
            A child ran up to her and held out a small flower. It was a vibrant blue with delicate petals. (Y/N) paused in surprise and took it.
            “Thank you,” she said.
            “You’re welcome, my lady!” said the child, running off again.
            (Y/N) looked down at it. Huh. I really am a Disney princess. Giving to others and being given flowers by children and everything. The only thing I need is for everyone to start singing.
            “The people seem to like you,” said an unfamiliar voice with a familiar teasing.
            (Y/N) raised an unimpressed eyebrow as she turned to look at the peasant man dressed in a simple green tunic. Mischief twinkled in his eyes as he smirked at her. Loki. (Y/N) rolled her eyes and shrugged.
            “I guess so,” said (Y/N). “But I feel like I’m in a cliché fairytale story.”
            “I suppose you’re right in many ways,” said Loki. “The people like you. You’re the peasant who became, well, not royal but of status. And you have faced and slain monsters.”
            “Oh, god, my life is a cliché,” groaned (Y/N).
            “Hardly. You’re incorrect about one important part,” said Loki.
            “If you say the heroine is supposed to be a beauty in those tales, I’ll slap you,” said (Y/N).
            Loki smirked. “No, that is one element you do have.” (Y/N) blinked, but before she could process and respond to that, Loki continued, “But you are missing the integral part of such a fairytale: a prince to sweep you off your feet.”
            (Y/N) felt the tiniest bit of pink tint her cheeks. Her stomach twisted pleasantly. “A prince?”
            “Yes,” said Loki.
            “A pity there is none. One is dead, and the other is taken. But I suppose I can use you, the peasant, as a stand in,” said (Y/N) teasingly. She linked her arm with Loki’s. “So come, ‘my prince.’ ”
            Loki found his heart beating just a bit faster as her skin touched his. And he had to admit, being called “my prince” certainly didn’t sound bad. Certainly not when the words were on (Y/N)’s lips.
l
            “I think the best option is to flatter him,” said (Y/N). “I’ve looked over all the previous deals he’s made, and it tends to be with people who engage with his ego. In fact, he rejected a contract just because he lost in a wrestling competition against the noble he was supposed to work with.” She rolled her eyes. “Pride. It gets in the way of things.”
            “You say that as if you are not a prideful creature yourself,” said Loki with an entertained smirk.
            The pair stood in (Y/N)’s chambers. Loki was wearing his own face, but he was ready at any moment to take the form of a peasant once more if someone were to approach. However, Loki liked to use his own features at times when planning with (Y/N). It was a respite from constantly having to act like someone else.
            “Yeah, but I’m not an idiot about it,” said (Y/N). “And unlike this guy, I’m not full of hot air. Whatever pride I have for myself I earned.”
            Loki’s lips quirked upwards. “I suppose you haven’t struggled against me and Malekith and so man ny others to accept anything less than respect. You earned it.”
            “That sound suspiciously like a compliment,” said (Y/N).
            “And if it is?” said Loki, tilting his head. How would you react?
            (Y/N) stared at him a moment. “I’d say it’s out of character.”
            “Do you truly think so little of me?” said Loki. “I can acknowledge skill when I see it.”
            “…Thank you,” said (Y/N), surprised.
            “I just speak the truth,” said Loki, smiling slightly.
            “The God of Lies telling the truth. What a paradox,” said (Y/N).
           “Not much of a paradox when I have a reason,” said Loki.
            “A reason?” remarked (Y/N).
            “A reason,” said Loki, gazing at her fondly. Mostly, he found the complimentary words fell from his lips easily when it was (Y/N) before him. Perhaps it was also because he liked when (Y/N)’s cheeks turned pink because of him.
            “Well, if you’re going to be vague about it, let’s get back to work,” said (Y/N), leaning over the documents on the table again.
            Loki moved closer and leaned over with her. Neither commented as they felt the heat of each other’s body.
l
            (Y/N) stood at the edges of the ballroom, sipping wine and watching the nobles mingle. She wore a vibrant blue gown that was layered in navy and vibrant shades to form a galaxy of colors. When she moved, the cloth rippled like water, and the sparkles beneath the navy fabric shone brightly. The dress clung to her in all the right places, highlighting her figure and flattering her. (Y/N) was a jewel made human. Golden heels and earrings completed the look, and they glinted in balance with Asgard’s palace walls as candlelight lit the ballroom.
            “Excuse me, my Lady?” A noblewoman walked up to (Y/N).
            She turned to her and quickly put her wine glass down. “Hi, yeah, yes?”
            “May I trouble you to a dance?” said the woman. She smiled and held out her hand, pale pink gloves matching the flowers sewn onto her gown (Were they living? Who knew, not (Y/N). Magic was complicated).
            (Y/N) ran through the roster of names she’d memorized. Lady Deirdre. She’s an important woman from an agricultural district. If I can get her to be agreeable, she’ll lower her ridiculous prices.
            (Y/N) smiled and took Deirdre’s hand. “It’s no trouble.”
            She was pulled in, and the music started up again as the pairs made their way to the dancefloor. (Y/N) was by no means a graceful dancer (she hadn’t grown up learning to dance like the Asgardian nobles), but she allowed herself to be led in the dance by Deirdre. And, well, (Y/N) could flirt to get on Deirdre’s good side, so if she wasn’t an elegant dancer, it didn’t really matter.
            Loki was thankful he was an excellent actor. He watched as Odin as (Y/N) moved across the dancefloor, stumbling ever-so-slightly but laughing as she did. Loki found it endearing. Actually, he blamed Deirdre. If you couldn’t properly lead in a dance, you were useless. So, when Deirdre finally let go of (Y/N) as the song ended, Loki was satisfied. (Y/N) wouldn’t have to be pulled through a dance. Yes. That was what was satisfying.
            And of course, Loki grew further annoyed as a nobleman walked up to (Y/N) next. She accepted the dance once more and was pulled close as another song played. Loki managed to keep his reaction to just drumming his fingers on his goblet. He didn’t like how close the nobleman was, even more than Deirdre. And his gaze was hardly where it should be. Not that he was the only one looking at (Y/N). Other nobles were watching her.
            And Loki couldn’t exactly find a reason for them not to other than he just didn’t want them to. Yes, he could see that (Y/N) was divine in her dress, every aspect of her beauty accentuated in makeup and gown and jewelry and hair, but that didn’t mean others needed to stare at them like that. If Loki could, he would march down there at that moment and pull (Y/N) to his side. Those nobles didn’t deserve her. Not her beauty, not her mind, they didn’t deserve anything of her.
            None of them deserved (Y/N).
 l
            (Y/N) finished jotting down notes on who she had managed to speak to that night. She had a few on edge to agreeing to her and Loki’s demands, and a few that were absolutely onboard, even if they didn’t know it yet. Satisfied, (Y/N) closed the journal. A knock sounded at the door, and (Y/N) opened it.
            Loki stood in his peasant disguise at the door, now in a servant’s uniform. Loki’s eyes trailed over (Y/N) as he stepped into her room, and he was thanking the gods of beauty for having her still be in that gorgeous gown that made her look divine.
            “Loki?” said (Y/N), closing the door before speaking.
            “Did you…enjoy the ball tonight?” said Loki.
            (Y/N) put a hand on her hip. “Whether I did or not doesn’t really matter. For political connections, I had to be there.”
            “Well, others enjoyed you being there,” said Loki, striving to keep the frustration out of his voice. None of them deserved (Y/N), so why they kept looking at her was beyond him. He put on a smirk, but it came off as a barely concealed snarl, his lip curling too much to be friendly. “You were quite popular.”
            Now it was (Y/N)’s turn to smirk. She cocked her head. “I didn’t wear this dress for nothing.”
            Loki felt his heart clench painfully. Did (Y/N) want others? No. That would be frivolous and foolish. (Y/N) was neither. And Loki didn’t want (Y/N) to want others. She was his partner-in-crime.
            “If you intended for so much attention, then you succeeded,” said Loki.
            (Y/N) scoffed and chuckled. “Yeah, their attention to get them to talk to me. At a ball they have their guard down, and a pretty dress helps them overlook any more…politically charged questions I ask. I was doing business, Loki.”
            “Ah.” Loki straightened, pleased at the answer. (Y/N) didn’t want the insignificant nobles. She didn’t want them.
            “But I do admit that I like wearing this dress. Ilsa and Karla helped me pick it out,” said (Y/N). She grinned. “And like I said, it gets the job done. Can’t ask more from a dress than to make me feel beautiful and to make me look hot as hell.”
            “I suppose you can’t,” said Loki. He agreed completely with her assessment of the dress. It made her look divine, and Loki wasn’t one to say so since he wasn’t one to worship, however… “You do look…nice.”
            (Y/N) chuckled. “What a compliment. But from you to me, I guess that’s high praise. Thank you.”
            “You’re beautiful,” said Loki. (Y/N) paused and looked at him. “That’s what I meant to say. You look beautiful, (Y/N).”
            “…Thank you, Loki,” said (Y/N) with a soft smile. “I’m sorry I couldn’t see you in your own ball wear.”
            Loki waved a hand, and his servant outfit and façade disappeared to reveal his true face and a deep green and black suit, golden details sewn into the fabric with magic. His raven hair fell in waves, pushed back by a gold circlet.
            “Now you have,” said Loki.
            (Y/N) stared at him. She knew Loki was an attractive god; she always had. But this? This was a whole other level. This was Prince Loki, the type of royalty that would play in (Y/N)’s mind when she dreamed of princes and pirates and all sorts of fairytale characters in her youth. (Y/N) felt full well just how large the gap between Midgardian humanity and Asgardian godliness really was.
            “You’re…wow. You look incredible, Loki,” said (Y/N).
            Loki smiled. “Thank you, my dear advisor.” And then he decided to be daring. He snapped his fingers, and several instruments popped into the room and began playing music. Loki extended a hand. “May I have this dance, my Lady?”
            (Y/N) smiled in return. She wanted nothing more. “You may.” She took his hand.
            Loki placed a hand on her waist and felt the warmth of her as he pulled her in. (Y/N) placed her hand on his shoulder. In (Y/N)’s bedroom, they danced contentedly. They moved across the room, moving in and out to the music, closer and farther in an intricate pattern. Loki guided (Y/N) through every movement, and she moved with grace she hadn’t shown with any others. The pair fit together perfectly, moving in sync. Loki spun (Y/N) out, and she grinned at him. Letting him spin her back in, she leaned back, and Loki caught her in a dip before pulling her up.
            The two were face-to-face, inches apart. (Y/N)’s hands were braced on Loki’s chest. One of his rested on her waist, and the other on her back, holding her to him. It was an intimate position, and all it would take was a slight movement from each and their lips would brush.
            (Y/N)’s eyes fluttered, and Loki glanced at her lips. For a moment, all was silent as they leaned in tentatively.
            And then all at once they realized what they were doing and who they were doing it with.
            (Y/N) let out a breath and stepped back, and Loki quickly unwound his arms from her. They stared at each other a moment before Loki turned and left the room, his disguise slipping back on in a hurry.
            One thought raged in both their heads.
            What was I about to do?
l
            (Y/N) raised a hand to her lips. For a moment, she had felt the brush of his cold skin. She had almost kissed Loki. Loki! (Y/N) sat down on the bed, still touching her lips as if she could chase the barest feeling of his, and stared out. What if it had happened? (Y/N)’s hand rose to her heart as it beat faster, and heat rose to her cheeks.
            She wouldn’t have stopped it. If it had happened, (Y/N) would have let it continue. Loki was her friend, her confidant, her partner-in-crime. He was witty and amusing, and (Y/N) found herself smiling when she saw him, knowing she’d be happier for having seen him. And for all that he had done, she trusted him. He protected her. He treated her with respect now and had grown. They understood each other and knew how to push to grow stronger. Loki had become someone (Y/N) cared about more deeply than anyone else before.
            (Y/N)’s eyes widened.
            She loved Loki.
l
            Loki ran a hand through his hair as he contemplated what had just happened. He and (Y/N) had nearly kissed. And he almost let it happen.
            Because he wanted it.
            Loki wanted nothing more than to have (Y/N) in his arms. Somewhere along the way during their discussions, the Midgardian had become someone whose company Loki sought out. She kept up with his wit, never backing down from him, keeping his mind agile through his boredom. And she cared. She worried when he was in a fight, and she truly mourned when she thought he had died. Loki was honored to have such consideration from her, his friend.
            But that wasn’t enough. Loki wanted to have (Y/N) closer. He wanted her powerful and well-treated and respected at his side. Loki wanted her as a queen.
            His eyes widened, and he let out a breath of realization. She was his equal. He was willing to share his power with her and give himself wholeheartedly.
            He loved (Y/N).

Tour Of Asgard // Loki Laufeyson Headcanon
Tumblr media
masterlist | oneshots
you were the first girl Loki was bringing home. he never brought anyone back to Asgard and unlike Thor, it wasn’t an abrupt and sudden coming
you were excited and nervous. you had no idea what to expect considering you were going to another planet and dating their prince
you already met Thor since you worked with him and that’s how you and Loki met. he was aboard the first time he came to Earth when he fought in the Battle of New York
you sat in front of the clear circular dome he was in and talked about anything. you were sent to analyze who Loki was and why he acted the way he was. Instead of finding a monster, you found a man in pain wanting to prove himself to his father while trying to figure out who he was supposed to be
you walked through the portal and Heimdall stood in all his glory. like a gentleman, Loki introduced you and even had two white horses awaiting your arrival to travel the rainbow bridge to the castle
along the way you looked both left and right almost getting whiplash from trying to take in all of Asgard’s beauty
you couldn’t believe what you were seeing and told yourself it was all a dream
“Over there, is where I shifted into a frog to scare Thor,” Loki looked over at you. “My love, are you listening to me?” He asked.
“Huh? Sorry, no I was taking in all the beauty of this place. I can’t believe I am even here. It feels like a fantasy, or more like a drawn-up movie or a tale to tell the kids at night.” You said still in awe.
“Well darling, believe it. You’re dating a prince. Here it is called courting because I am a royal. We are courting to become Asgard's future prince and princess. Even though we haven’t spoken of marriage, others will see it that way.” He said leaning over to kiss my hand.
“Princess. Princess of Asgard. I like that title. As long as you’re my future they can talk about marriage all they want.” You said looking at him lovingly.
he got the bags in his room before leading you to a private balcony for lunch. he knew the journey was long for a Midgardian, so he set up an impromptu date overlooking the waterfall
Asgard has some of the best food you’ve ever tasted and mainly because it was all fresh, but you would need to smuggle some of your favorite snacks and treats because they have no chocolate. no chocolate was your deal breaker
after the meal, Loki walked you around the entire palace and described each and every story he shared with Thor and their friends. the kind of battles and fighting, real and not, and places he would escape to
speaking of escapes, he showed you all three of his hiding places. one in the palace, one in the mountains, and one in the town. he treated it as no matter where he was, he could run to his hiding place every time
“I came here a lot when no one noticed. Especially in my younger years when I didn’t feel understood, which was quite often. I was bringing a blanket and snacks with me to keep me occupied. Although I wasn’t the best at hiding from my mother. She knew where I was at all times, being that she is a witch herself.” Loki smiled softly with sadness behind his eyes.
“Would she sit and stay with you?” You asked and held his hand.
“She would. She’d stay with me until I felt comfortable coming back. My father, Odin, was not a father to me as you know. But he would show his affection in a way that others would see as equal to Thor and me, but cruel and hurtful in reality. But mother,” He chuckled, looking down at his hands. “Mother was my best friend.” Loki looked at you.
“She would be so proud of you, that I know. I’ve only met her a few times when she came to visit, but I do know the kind of special bond the two of you have.” You sat up leaning over to press your hand softly to his cheek. “It is an honor to be shown the places you were and are most vulnerable and places you shared memories with her. Thank you.”
you spent the night in one of his hiding places with him just talking about anything and everything

Just Friends (Loki x female Reader Fluff)
Summary: Based on this request by @sofilaufeysonn I picked friends to lovers as it's one of my favourite tropes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Loki was your.. friend. A friend, that's all he was, you have known him for more than a year now and you have cried yourself to sleep every time he brought a new girl back to the tower but you could never confess your overflowing feelings for him because he was your friend. That's all he was, that's how he saw you and you never wanted to lose his friendship by complicating it with your silly crush on him, just a crush, you convinced yourself. Losing his friendship would devastate you and you weren't ready for that loss.
The first time you saw him he was in bit of a pickle, Thor just brought him from Asgard and they had a party to introduce him to the world as the new Avenger, he was flirting with several midgardian women at once and two of them got offended so you helped him out as you pretended to be his girlfriend for the night.
"You're a life saviour little mortal" he smiled widely as he hugged you and that was it for you. That's the moment you knew you were screwed.
You were watching your favourite comfort movie Mean girls when you saw him step into the living room with just a trouser on, he loved to torture you with his half nakedness and that body hotter than the scorching sun up there.
When people fawned over Thor's big muscular build, all you wanted was to have Loki's lean body on top of you, you wanted to hold onto his broad shoulders as he'd take you slowly, you wanted to wrap your legs around his thin waist and run your hands all over his abs and that bubbly butt that you wanted to bite...
"Buttons? Buttons" you snapped out of your thoughts and he chuckled,
"Woww you were really deep in there huh? I have called for you like five times. Where are you lost?" He asked you, he was hovering over you on the couch, you could smell his cologne and all you wanted to do was lift your head up and kiss him. You tried to get up so he grabbed your hand and kissed your forehead before he made you sit up.
The forehead kisses, you abhorred them truly. You hated how warm they felt, you despised how loving he was when he cupped your cheeks to kiss your head.
"Ummm the movie, it's one of my favorites" you mumbled nervously and he sat next to you on the couch, he sat too close. You wanted to snuggle into him and have his arm wrapped around you but you only got to do all that in your dreams.
"Hmmmm well if it's something you like, it must be good, your taste is impeccable" he conjured a popcorn and a soda to pass it to you,
"Thank you" you smiled as you looked at him, his eyes were on the screen, his curly hair was all messed up, he looked as if he had just gotten out of bed but he looked really angelic, it was impossible for him to look anything else.
"That lady is devious, I love her" he chuckled as he watched Regina distribute the copy of the burn book all around the school. Jealousy surged through you as he said that. She's just a fictional character, you had to remind yourself of that.
"She's the villain you know?"
"I don't see it that way, she's just a kid and i think she's troubled, have you seen her mother? she just needs to find her way" you nodded as he said that, while you could never relate to Regina he was able to see through her. Plus she was his type,blond, pretty mischievous. That's the type of woman he was into.
"Woww you really like her huh" you joked and tried to sound as composed as you could be.
"She's alright I guess" he smiled and you couldn't take your eyes off him, he was sitting too close to you. Normally when moments like this happened you just looked away before he'd catch you staring at him but today, when his gorgeous half naked intoxicating body was next to you, you couldn't stop.
After a few minutes he placed his arm on the head of the couch right behind your own head and you couldn't help but wonder how good it would feel to cuddle with him.
You have hugged him on several different occasions and hugging him brought you such comfort, it was like being hugged by a warm blanket.
He smiled when Kevin and Janis kissed at the prom,
"Lucky lad huh? Getting the girl of his dreams" his smile dissipated slowly and you stared at him, he turned his head to look at you and brought the hand he had on the couch to tuck your hair behind your ear.
"What happened?" He asked you and you snapped out of your thoughts again
"Nothing, how's umm..janis?" You asked him and he looked at you confused,
"Joanna I meant..Joanna" you corrected your mistake and he chuckled
"She's courting Sam now"
"Really? Why?" You asked him and he sighed
"I didn't want to waste her time or hurt her so we ended it before things would get messy" you scrunched your brows as he said that, none of his flings lasted and you felt awful that you rejoiced everytime it ended.
"I thought you liked her"
"I thought so too but..she's not the one" you nodded as he said that. You weren't too sad about the breakup to say the least.
"I'm sorry"
"Yeahh I could use a hug, little buttons" he chuckled, so you stepped closer to him and wrapped your arms around his neck, he sighed deeply as he felt your warm body so close to him. The pet name, he had no clue how flustered it made you.
"Well I really enjoyed this movie hang out, thank you, I should get to bed" you pulled away from him before your feelings for him would come in between and ruin things, he hated complications you knew that, you didn't want him to ignore you once he had learned of your crush.
"Did you enjoy it? Or you're just being nice to me" he looked up at you as you stood up,
"You know I always enjoy your company Loki, you're like my best friend" you mumbled so he grabbed your hand and kissed the back of it softly, the gesture made you gasp
"Then stay?" He whispered as he looked up again and you sat down, all of a sudden the mood shifted, you felt really nervous around him, more than normal anyways.
"I don't just like your company.. also like your smile and umm pretty much everything about you" you looked down as you said that, you shouldn't have said that. Why did you do that?
"You do?" His brows furrowed
"Of Course you are my best friend" he nodded as he chuckled
"I hate it" your eyes widened and you knew you had fucked up somehow. That was it, he was going to shut you out now, you should have left for your room
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to.."
"I hate being your best friend..no no let me rephrase that, I hate being just your best friend darling, I can't do this anymore" he placed his head down on his palm so you grabbed his wrist and made him look at you. Did he have feelings too? You didn't know but you had to build the courage and ask him, it was now or never kind of situation.
"I am sorry I just .. I don't want to overstep but ..do you like me, like like me?" Your eyes teared up and so did his
"Glad you noticed finally" you gasped as the confession hit you like a rock, were you dreaming?
"Lokii I .."
"It's ok..I ..I just had to tell you, I tried to keep it in for as long as I could but you never make it easy for me. I mean look at you, sitting here in that ridiculous pajamas looking cute as fuck..I think about you all the time, I had since that first night when you pretended to be mine, I wanted it to be real so bad and i tried to distract myself with other people but they weren't you.." you cut him off as the tears rolled down your eyes
"I cry myself to sleep every time you're with someone else..I like you alot, maybe more..but was..too afraid ..I just"
He sighed as the realization hit him too, you wanted him all this time and he had no idea, you never allowed him to see through you. You hid your feelings for him better than he did for you. Both of you were afraid to lose each other.
"Ohh..my sweet sweet girl" he cupped your cheeks and pulled you on top of his lap as he kissed you fiercely, passionately but at the same time he was soft and gentle. He wanted to savor the first kiss, he wanted to remember this forever.
You on the other hand? You wanted to devour him whole, you have dreamt of this moment a million times and day dreamed about it but he gave you so many indescribable feelings. You never thought kissing him would be peaceful like walking barefoot on the beach first thing in the morning, you didn't know he'd feel warmer than the sun on a cold winter morning, you didnt know that he'd remind you of the smell of the earth after the rain, you never thought that he'd feel like home.
As he pulled away you had your eyes closed and breaths heavy,
"Friendship ruined?" You chuckled as you still couldn't believe that he wanted to be yours. Exclusively and intimately.
"Nuhuh it just got deeper baby" he placed his lips onto yours again as he kissed you to his heart's content.
"Allow me to court you properly buttons?" He mumbled between the kiss and you nodded. How could you not?
"Please do whatever you want to do to me" he smiled as you said that but it went straight to his cock. There were several things he wanted to do to you.
Loki wasn't your friend anymore, no that's not right..he wasn't just your friend anymore and you couldn't have been happier about it.

Baldur and Hela
So i’ve been thinking a lot about Norse mythology because I have literally nothing better to do, and I thought of a re-imagining of Baldur’s death so here we go I guess.
-
So Baldur dies, right. Very sad. God of peace, compassion, love, probably puppies, and he’s dead. Very sad. What’s worse, because he didn’t die in battle, he goes to Helheim, the icy and cold land, where the unglorious dead go.
And there, he meets Hela, the grim Goddess. Half a corpse, a dead heart in her chest. She rules this icy land where there is no hope, no light, and no love.
Except, now there is.
Now, this glorious shinning light of compassion and love has descended down into these icy depths, and brought with it the first ray of sunlight Helheim has ever seen. A kind, and good soul, a God of Love.
Hela cannot stand. She loathes the sight of the the thing, hates the tight feeling in her chest when she sees him. The unnatural throbbing in her dead heart as she looks upon something that doesn’t belong in this hopeless land.
Hela rages at Asgard. Demands that they take this damnable light away. Demands that they leave her alone in her cold, familiar apathy. She’s not like her brother, not like Fenrir, who craved love and companionship. She is a dead thing. A thing that cannot be loved, and loves nothing.
So the Gods make preparations, struggle to find a way, and Hela is alone. Alone with her complete opposite. Hela is dread, hateful and cold. Baldur is light, kid and considerate.
But time passes, as she waits, she engages with him. They talk. She comes to know him. And she grows to ha(love)te him even more. He is not repulsed by her dead flesh. He smiles, and she feels the sun on her skin. Her good eye waters with tears. He gives her space when she desires it. He comes close when she needs it.
Hela hates it. She hates how he comforts the souls of her domain. She hates how he makes her smile. Hates how he makes the world seem just a little bit brighter.
She hates that she is coming to dread the day he will leave.
She hates the unnatural beating of her dead heart.
She hates that the Gods were so cruel as to taunt her with this. So cruel as to send something she was never meant to have to her realm. Is she not Hela? The grim Goddess? Destined to forever rule her icy realm of pain and misery alone?
The day comes, and all thing weep for Baldur. Even Loki, the architect of his death, weeps as well, deciding that the joke has gone far enough, weeps for Baldur. Even Hela weeps, from her one good eye. She weeps that he must leave her. That he must darken her realm with his absence.
And yet, he remains.
Go! She screams at him. Go, and leave me! You were never for this place. You were never for me!
And still Baldur does not go.
Why, why, why does he taunt her so!? Why does he stay when all thing weep for him to return?
Baldur reaches forward, ad wipes the tears from Hela’s face. And speaks in a voice that is as the birdsong in the trees.
I came here, and I saw a woman who took up a duty no one else would shoulder. I came here, and saw a woman stronger than even Thor and Tyr, willing to endure an eternity of loneliness, if only it meant giving shelter to the unwanted dead. And I saw a woman of insurpassable beauty, unlike any creature above or below.
How could I not fall in love with such a creature?
In the end, Baldur did not stay in Helheim through any machination of Odin, or trick of Loki. In the end, much stronger shackles bound him than any other band of iron and steel.
In the end, Baldur stayed through his own choice. In the end, he stayed in Helheim, bringing light and joy to the souls there, for a very simple reason.
In the end, he stayed with the woman he loved, who’s heart finally found a reason to beat.

Alright I have finished Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer!
Here are my thoughts for a few pages i have dog-eared and since i value my phone storage I'm just gonna quote them instead of pics.
-----
Page 214
Harald sniffed the coin. Its gold surface glowed so warmly it seemed to be on fire. You have giantish blood, girl? (Samirah) I can see it in your eyes."
[Samirah:] "That's also none of your concern."
------
(assuming he's referring to Loki being a Jötun)
Oooh, so Rick is gonna address the different species of gods' thing this time around? I wonder if Loki's kids would have special powers or something being half Jötun?
Personally I'm gonna headcanon regardless if it's never brought up again.
-----
Page 226—227
[Samirah:]"We may all die," She muttered, "but this will definitely get Ran's attention".
[Magnus:] "Why?" I asked. "What is that thing?"
Our catch broke the surface and opened its eyes.
"Meet my older brother," Sam said, "the World Serpent".
Chapter 33: Sam's Brother Wakes Up Kinda Cranky
------
Squeeeee! there's my boy—snake! Jörmungandr!
I guessed a little while before this that they were gonna catch him but shrugged it off. So i was very happy when my boy chomped on that cow head.
Also is it just me or does anyone else get really happy when the demigods refer to their godly/monster sibling as brother or sister?
Like yes! That giant snake boy is your big bro! You share a dad! (or if you're going by the Loki ate a giantess's heart and gave birth to the monster three myth, then parent)
------
Page 237
"In other words, you don't know." the goddess (Ran) arched her eyebrows at Sam. "And you, daughter of Loki, why are you siding with the gods of Asgard? Your father is no friend of theirs— not anymore."
"I'm not my father," Sam said. "I'm a— I was a Valkyrie."
"Ah yes. The girl who dreamed of flying. But the Thanes of Valhalla expelled you. Why do you still try to earn their favour? You dont need them to fly. You know very well that with your father's blood—"
------
That not anymore part in reference to Loki upsets me and puts me even more on Loki's side.
*looks at Loki and his children's treatment* I could not guess why he's not your guys' friend anymore! Even though you:
Tied up his (first) wife (not Sigyn the other one) and kidnapped his children in the night
Chained one of his kids (Fenris), threw one into Helheim (Hel) and threw the other into the ocean.
Turned one of his other kids with his 2nd wife into a wolf that then dismembered the other child.
Shoot the now wolf kid and used the dead kid and the wolf kid's guts to chain Loki to a rock.
Have a snake drip ACID onto his face while chaining him to the aforementioned rock.
There's probably more but thats all i can think of at the top of my head.
Also the shapeshifting teasing.
------
Page 331
[Magnus:] "Why are you showing me this?' I asked"
[Loki:] "Because I like you, Magnus. You've got a sense of humour. You've got zing. So rare in a demigod! Even rarer among the einherjar. I'm glad my daughter found you."
[Magnus:] "Samirah...that's how she can turn into a horsefly. She's a shape-shifter like you."
[Loki:] "Oh, she's Daddy's girl, all right. She doesn't like to admit it, but she's inherited a lot of things from me: my abilities, my dashing good looks, my keen intellect. She can spot talent, too. After all, she chose you, my friend."
I clutched my stomach. 'I don't feel so good.
[Loki:] 'Duh! You're on the verge of death. Personally, I hope you wake up, because if you kick the bucket now your death will be meaningless and nothing you've done will matter.'
------
LOKIIIIII! My baby boi, girl, sometimes horse! Why do I find it adorable that he calls Samirah daddy's girl?
Also the way he compliments himself lol
-----
Page 334 and a bit of 335
You know how to ruin conversation" Loki said "I killed Balder, the god of light—the handsome perfect, incredibly annoying son of Odin and Frigg." He stepped towards me and poked my chest, emphasizing each word "And-I'd-do-it-again".
In the back of my brain, my common sense yelled, DROP IT! But, as you have probably figured out by now, I don't listen to my common sense much.
"Why did you kill him?"
Loki barked a laugh. His breath smelled of almonds, like cyanide. 'Did I mention he was annoying? Frigg was worried about him. The poor baby had been having bad dreams about his own doom. Welcome to reality, Balder! We all have bad dreams. But Frigg couldn't stand the idea that her precious angel might bruise his little foot. She exacted promises from everything in creation that nothing would hurt her beautiful son- people, gods, trees, rocks...Can you imagine exacting a promise from a rock? Frigg managed it. Afterwards, the gods had a party to celebrate. They started throwing things at Balder just for laughs. Arrows, swords, boulders, each other nothing would hurt him. It was as if the idiot was surrounded by a force field...Well I'm sorry. The thought of Mr Perfect also being Mr Invulnerable made me sick.
I blinked, trying to get the sting out of my eyes. Loki's voice was so full of hatred it seemed to make the air burn.
"You found a way to kill him."
"Mistletoe!" Loki's smile brightened. Can you imagine? Frigg forgot one tiny little plant. I fashioned a dart from the stuff, gave it to Balder's blind brother, a god named Hod didn't want him to miss the fun of chucking deadly objects at Balder, so i guided Hod's hand and...well, Frigg's worst fears came true. Balder deserved it.
"For being too handsome and popular"
"Yes!"
"For being loved."
"Exactly!"
----
"Ill-do-it-again" Honestly real of him.
And like tbh Balder had it fucking coming. Like from what I can recall no one else besides Frigg and Loki knew of the mistletoe weakness. So all it would have taken for some dumbass to accidentally throw the mistletoe and killed him. It just happened to be Loki and he was doing it maliciously (or in my eyes, for vengeance).
Also why is the All part of "we all have bad dreams" Italicized? Loki what kind of dreams are you having? You okay?
I dont think its intentional but the way Magnus goes:
"you killed him for being loved?"
And Loki responding "Exactly!" makes it sound like Loki was jealous lmao.
Someone get my dude some therapy, i don't think he gets enough love.
-----
Page 335, my favourite part
"Oh please" Loki stepped back, examining me with a look of disappointment, this only a matter of degree. So I killed a god. Big deal! He went to Helheim and became an honoured guest in my daughter's palace. And my punishment? You want to know. My punishment?"
"You were tied on a stone slab," I said, 'With poison from a snake dripping on your face. I know."
"Do you?" Loki pulled back his cuffs, showing me the raw scars on his wrists. "The gods were not content to punish me with eternal torture. They took out their wrath upon my two favourite sons - Vali and Narvi. They turned Vali into a wolf and watched with amusement while he disembowelled his brother Narvi. Then they shot and gutted the wolf. The gods took my innocent sons' own entrails... Loki's voice cracked with grief. "Well, Magnus Chase, let's just say I was not bound with ropes."
Something in my chest curled up and died - possibly my hope that there was any kind of justice in the universe. "Gods."
Loki nodded. "Yes Magnus. The gods. Think about that when you meet Thor."
-----
YAY THEY ADDRESSED THE CHAINS!
Also one of the main reason why i am on Loki's side.
Like go on, tell me how thats justice. Tell me how the dude that got their first three children taken and thrown away or chained then got their two new sons get brutally murdered and then chained with the entrails of said two sons is the bad guy here?
And the fact that it specifically says 'cracked with grief'
As in he actually cares about his kids—well at least his sons.
Rick don't fuck this up for us, please don't make him an irredeemable monster next book.
Also the fact that he says the gods watched in amusement implies that he witnessed this...they made him watch...his innocent sons get murdered and gutted. (I am not even going to think about that Sigyn also likely saw too)
Like...
....holy fuck...
...how? How are we rooting for these guys to be saved?
This is why we need a Son of Loki! Luke AU and several one-shots revolving around Loki as a parent in general.
Hel even Magnus goes WTF.

Alright this is getting too long ill make a second part later

Go Home With Him (Loki One Shot)
Tumblr media

youtube
A/N: Keep in mind this was the first Loki one shot I ever wrote and released, six months ago on Quotev. So please excuse the poor writing, I promise the idea will be worth it.
Drinks with the other avengers weren't Loki's idea of fun. He could barely tolerate some of them normally, but drinking sounded like the worst idea. The only avengers he truly got around with were Wanda Maximoff, Vision, Bucky, Banner, and Rogers at times. He didn't dislike the Parker kid, but he wasn't the problem it was mainly Stark, Romanoff, and sometimes Barton. Stark had been a pain in Loki's behind ever since New York had it not been for Thor Loki was sure that Stark would ensure that he remain trapped in his room except for missions. Much like he had tried to do with Maximoff when she first came. So while Loki would rather skip drinks he was going all because of Emilie Harrison. She was the fire to his ice, his other half even if she insisted on fighting him, she was still there especially when Loki had first arrived at the compound. She was the one who had seen him for his attack on New York as she seemed to take an interest in psychology. Loki was her favorite subject as she would ask questions about what it was like on Asgard and what they thought. Loki was his usual grumpy self through and was bickering with her. Yet for all of he had fallen for the stubborn girl who had made a place in his heart despite Loki's very disinterest in the idea of drinking. As of now all of the avengers were in a bar that Tony had rented out in case things got chaotic as often did with them. This is where everything began.....
Loki mostly chooses to be near Thor not because Thor was his favorite company. Thor could get on his nerves despite how much Loki loved the oaf. He was better than the current options: Stark, Barton, and Roger. Wanda and Emilie were sitting together sharing shacks the sound of Emilie's laughter was one he could hear even from where he was. Hearing the laugh and the way that Loki's heart was doing flips he knew he was doomed. Norns I am screwed for a Midgardian of all people he thought. As he let out a cruel chuckle at the irony of this. Thor had already cracked open some of the Asgardian ale he brought along given the Midgardian drinks didn't fill them as much. Once Loki let out a cruel laugh Thor nudged his brother Loki wearing a smile on his face. "Brother care to tell me why you have that look on your face."
  "You must be mistaken brother."
  "Brother I may not be as smart as you, but I do know what love looks like."
  "Love and me you are mistaken brother."
"I don't think I am brother. I think you are interested in her, so you have two choices you can continue to try and hide this from me or you could admit it."
  "Why would I do that?"
  "Well, that leads us to our second set of choices brother. You can either tell her or I can tell her."
  "You wouldn't brother."
  "But I would because finically brother if I can see pinning others will surely notice it. So would you rather it be me to notice of the man of iron?"
  "You I suppose, but it's not much better."
"Well brother what could be the worst that could happen?"
  "Brother surely you aren't that dumb. Do you not forget I am half frost giant, I am the very monster parents tell their children at night, and I tried to destroy your previous Midgard for a throne."
"I know brother, but let us not forget you had things going on and you do know that despite your fights with Lady Emilie she was the one who noticed your change in eyes something that not even I noticed brother. I am the only few who can see through your illusions."
  "Brother, do you not forget how you always fall for my double appearance?"
  "Yes, but other than that I can see through you brother. Besides you could always blame it on the ale." At this Thor picked up a bottle and held it up. Knowing if Loki had a chance to back out he would take it. Despite all of the front that Loki put up he was still like any other man who could be nervous around their crush.
  "Fine if you stop pestering me, brother. I swear if she rejects me you will own me and you know what happens when you own me. I also get to erase her memories and I will expect no protests."
  "Fine brother, but I think you might be surprised by her feeling."
  "Whatever you say brother now hand me that ale. I need a little drink for this."
Thor got a spare glass and poured a small glass as Loki took it and drank from it. He took a step toward Emilie, who was now alone as Wanda was elsewhere.  His heart pounding so hard as he did. He even went so far as to conjure her favorite flowers. As Loki was trying to think of something to say anything, he just said the first thing on his mind when nothing came. "Come home with me."
  "Loki seriously," Emilie said with a small chuckle.
  "Not Loki."
  "If you aren't Loki then who are you?"
  "The man who is going to marry you."
  "Is that so?"
  "Yes."
 At that Emilie got a serious look on her face. "Seriously Loki, I am not in the mood for jokes. Besides, I have met far too many men like you. People who say sweet words, but can't uphold them."
"What if I could darling?"
 "Loki I know you and I know that you aren't serious. So enough with the jokes, because it isn't funny."
  "And if it isn't a joke what would you say?"
  At that Emilie's face changed once more to one full of hurt. Something that Loki had no desire to see on her face. Something that he had never wanted to see on her face especially put on his face. "Come on Loki we both know how this is. You somehow found out my feelings for you and some reason despite my protection of you. Still, you seek to torment me."
"Darling what would make you think that I would do that to you of all people?"
 “Perhaps because no matter how much time passes. You still manage to surprise me."
  "Well, darling maybe I can show you that I am different when it comes to you."
  "Oh, how would you do that oh great, Loki burdened with glorious purpose?"
  "I regret mind-controlling Barton."
  "It's too late now isn't it sweetie?"
At this Loki's face went red he couldn't remember the last time he had been called anything sweet. "Perhaps it is so what do you say would you be up for marrying me?"
  "No."
At this Loki, face fell in fear of rejection. "I suppose I will take my leave you can forget this ever happened." At this Emilie grabbed his hand stopping him from doing so.
  "While I might have said no that doesn’t mean that it will never happen.”
 “If not never then what do you mean?”
” It means why don't we try some dates before we decide on marriage? You may decide that don't want to marry me."
"I highly doubt that darling I am far too gone on you now. If anything you may lose interest after all I am the monster parents tell their children at night," Loki added with a cruel laugh at the end. As Emilie got a look of concern on her face, yet in it hid something that Loki almost could see as love.
  "You aren't a monster Loki, that was just the thing that was controlling you honestly if anyone is really to blame it is your adopted father gaslighting."
  "Seriously you accuse the allfather of gaslighting? Isn’t that a mortal term?”
 “Yes, it is, and rightfully so.”
Upon hearing this Loki let out a light chuckle. “Darling, I don't think anyone has said that."
  "Well, then I suppose I am the first.”
 “And that is a good thing?”
 “Yes because your adoptive father gaslighted you rather than see how great you are despite his shitty parenting."
  "How great can I be if I am merely the god of mischief?"
  "Loki you were on Captain's side when it came to Bucky. You helped Wanda settle in and even defended her when you didn't have to. While you do choose to be grumpy and closed, you are still there for those you care for including your brother.”
  “Am I?”
 “Yes especially with Thor despite you constantly trying to stab him.”
  “Well then keep going what else might you see in me,” Loki asked taking great joy in hearing such praise from a woman such as her.
 “Fine but you better not get a big head about this.”
 “Me never you wound me.”
 “Whatever you say.”
 “Now continue,” Loki prompted.
”As I was saying, you are smart, well-read, and always find something to say. Not to mention once they get close enough you accept others for who they are and if I must say you aren't horrible to look at."
  "I don't know if I should be offended or not by that comment darling, but I suppose I will take it."
  "Good and besides if there is anyone who should be worried it should be me.”
”And why is that?”
“Because I can't seem to hold someone down for more than six months,” she said in a teasing voice Loki could hear the slightest bit of hurt behind it.
So upon hearing this, Loki took Emilie's hand into his and put his lips to it. "That's their fault darling because you are mind-blowing to me. You accept everyone for who they are. You never just see one side I mean it's not just me but Bucky, Maximoff, Barton, and others. Sure you are stubborn but I love how you always have something to say and that you aren't afraid to speak up when needed. You are so intelligent, always having something to say, forever surprising me, not to mention you aren't bad-looking, darling."
   "Is that so?"
 "It is so what do you say marry me?"
At this Emilie let out an eye roll that had love in it despite eye roll. "As I said before mischief dates before marriage."
 "Fine, I suppose I can take it. So how about we get out of here and have one right now?"
  "Right now?"
  "Yes darling or did you mishear me?"
  "But what about the others?"
  "I am sure Stark will handle it."
  "I suppose but still...."
At this Loki unleashed his secret weapon his puppy dog eyes. "Don't make me beg darling?"
A smile slowly crossed Emilie's face seeing this. "Maybe I should make you beg, people would love to see it for a change."
  "You are like me aren't you darling?"
  "Perhaps you have corrupted me." Emilie's voice was full of teasing and love.
  "Who is to say? So what do you say?"
  "I suppose I can, but break my heart and you will pay."
  "I don't doubt it, darling. So how about we get out here," he said as he offered a hand to her Emilie took it. The moment she did she could hear a loud cry from someone.
  "I win you own me man of iron."
"Same for me Stark," a female voice said. As Loki and Emilie looked to see that Wanda and Thor were wearing cheeky grins, the others groaned before handing over some money.
  "You bet on us," Loki and Emilie said in unison.
  "Yes, we were all tired of your pinning, so we figured that someone would need to do something," Tony said.
  "Say that again Stark and what you may call your iron balls might just vanish. How would your partner like that."
  "Not my iron balls," Tony cried as he cupped over his pants. As Loki let out a mischievous laugh Loki may go far, but not even he would take it that far, but it was nice to know he had something on Stark. it could prove useful in the future.
  "We will deal with you all later right now my love and I have a date to get to," Loki said as he took Emilie out of the place as the cheers of the members filled as they left. Once they left Emilie leaned her head into Loki's shoulder.
  "You thinking what I am thinking?"
  "Who knows love your mind always surprises me."
"I think we should get some money since they choose to bet on us. What do you say?"
  "Sounds good to me, but enough about them why don't we enjoy our date?"
  "Alright, where shall we go the first mischief I don't know what is open this late."
  "Whose to say, but it doesn't matter as long as you come home with me."

Sigyn’s burden - about Sigyn, Loki and Eir
Eir is arranging her healing herbs when suddenly the door to her home swings open. It’s Loki who enters, carrying Sigyn in his arms. The trickster has torn clothes, bruises and scratches all over his face, blood coming from a corner of his lips, most likely misses a tooth, has a few broken fingers and a twisted ankle. Despite all of this he’s trying to act as he isn’t injured, but it doesn’t fool the experienced healer. Sigyn meanwhile physically looks okay but is clearly on edge.
The old goddess looks at them both, then sighs.
“Why am I not surprised? Can I guess what you two have been up to this time, my children?... Oh, come here.”
After patching Loki up, she gives both young demigods blankets, warm drinks and meals. With their stomachs full and spirits up, they tell Eir about their latest adventure. The goddess smiles as she listens to Loki’s grandiose recollection of the events, while Sigyn looks over at him and slightly nudges when he’s going too far with exaggerations, especially when he praises the girl.
Soon both Loki and Sigyn get tired, so Eir walks them to the separate rooms and tucks them in beds. Sad smile forms on her face as she watches two orphaned children, who she more or less looks after, sleep so peacefully.
***
Well, this isn’t an actual scene from my current “Sigyn’s burden” story (yet). Just a piece that I think perfectly captures the dynamic between those 3 characters that I’m going for.
In SB Sigyn is meant to be like a 16 yo shy girl, while Loki is a troublemaker who just turned 18 and still needs to learn about maturity. Due to his misadventures he became a regular at Eir’s hut. The old goddess is also one of few residents of Asgard that are not disliking him for being half-god, half-giant and still sees hope for him. In fact, she believes Loki is just lost and his misbehaving is a misguided way of coping with the death of his parents and inability to fit in anywhere. While on a trip to Midgard Loki saved a gravely wounded  young half-goddess, half-human girl. Unable to save her on his own, he brought her to Eir as he considered her the best healer in all of nine worlds.
That’s how Sigyn ended up in Asgard, but her injuries caused chronic pain that at worst made her unable to walk even with a cane. Despite that, she still wanted to be on her own, like it was on Midgard after she lost both of her parents. Still, Eir wanted to be sure she would be okay, so she allowed the girl to live in her old hut and regularly checked on her and if she had everything she needed.
Eir was happy, when Loki and Sigyn became closer to each other, as, despite differences between them, she knew that deep down both demigods are just kids, who struggle with a lot, including losing their parents way too early and identity as almost-gods.
What do you think about this reimagining?

Chapter 6: The Open House
Tumblr media
Chapter List
Word Count: 2,853
Summery: Loki navigates the tricky politics of the world of elementary school open houses and judgmental parents, and has an important conversation with Selene.
. . .
Loki had taken many lovely companions to many places. Dances, meals, midnight rendezvous, his bedroom, all things befitting a prince of Asgard. He’d also in turn been taken to many places by suitors vying for his attention. But never, in his thousand years of life had he ever been taken into a closed space with twenty-something children by a potential partner. Yet that is precisely where he found himself; sitting at a child’s school desk next to Dr. Selene Lovelace and her daughter at the school open house.
Parents and children were already talking and mingling as Loki and the Lovelaces entered the classroom. He felt rather out of place as Selene guided him with her arm looped through his own to a cluster of desks near the back of the classroom. Raven immediately ran off to a girl with curly red hair standing with her parents. They looked over to the corner where Selene and Loki had sat down, waved brightly and started making their way over.
“Someone’s spotted us, love.” Loki nudged Selene.
“Shit, already?” She looked up to the direction he indicated. “Oh, it’s just the Sweeneys. It’s okay, we like them. That’s where Raven had her sleepover.”
The couple approached, Raven and the other girl a few steps behind them, chatting animatedly. “Hey, how are you?” The woman asked.
“Doing well, it’s good to see you, Heather.” She grinned, nodding to the man. “Joseph.”
“Dr. Lovelace.” He took your hand and shook it.
They introduced themselves and their daughter, Olivia, to Loki, firmly gripping his hand. They were polite and thankfully non-intrusive, sticking to pleasant small talk about work and the children.
Selene had practically begged Loki to join her for the yearly open house, saying that it was a similar crowd every year, and for the entirety of her time at the school she’d been pinned as the single mother who everyone either quietly pitied or constantly interrogated.
“Every year someone makes a snide comment about me being a single mom and going alone. Every. Goddamn. Year.” She’d bitten out. “Please come with us, I swear you don’t have to even do anything. You just gotta hang out for an hour or two.”
She could’ve asked him for the moon and stars and he’d have found a way to give them to her, so naturally, he agreed.
He quickly realized that the Sweeneys were neither an issue, nor an indication of what was yet to come. Minutes before the teacher opened the meeting, another mother approached. Selene visibly stiffened. She caught Loki’s eye. Here we go.
“Would you look at that, Selene! Kids are in the same class again!” She crowed, squeezing Selene’s arm.
“Mm-hmm. Third year in a row.” She gave a tight-lipped smile.
“Lucky us,” The woman winked, then turned her attention to Loki. “And you’ve brought someone! I don’t believe we’ve met.”
“Loki,” He replied simply, inclining his head.
“Melissa,” She simpered. “Keeping Selene company? You know- she usually comes alone to school events.”
“There isn’t usually anyone I want to bring.” Selene said through her plastered smile.
“Then this really is a special occasion! It’s lovely to see you’ve finally found someone.” She laughed, and waved someone over. Loki’s eye flickered to Selene just in time to watch her mouth the words kill me.
“This is my husband, Mr. Brian Carroll, and our son, Oscar. Boys this is Loki, he’s Selene’s gentleman friend. ”
“Ms. Lovelace, how are you?” Mr. Carroll asked, squeezing her shoulder. Unlike how she’d relaxed with the Sweeneys, Selene stayed stiff as a board until his hand had left her.
“Dr. Lovelace, and I’m just fine, thanks.” She corrected.
“Doctor, yes of course.” He waved a dismissive hand, focusing on Loki. “Hey, you wouldn’t happen to be the guy who-”
“Oh, I think we’re starting.” Mr. Sweeney, who was still hovering nearby, interrupted.
Sure enough, the young teacher at the front of the room had just switched on her projector with the words Welcome, parents! Along with her name, Ms. Alicia Pérez.
Thankfully, the Carrolls ushered their son away. Selene released a heavy breath, and stage-whispered “Thank you.” to Mr. Sweeney, who replied with a thumbs up. Loki took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
“That woman is my worst enemy.” Selene muttered as Ms. Pérez greeted the assembled group. “I’m pretty sure she’s my sleep paralysis demon.”
Loki stifled a snort, and schooled his face into neutrality. He did not let go of her hand.
. . .
Loki had tried to be interested in the meeting, really, he had. It was hard not to zone out though, especially since Loki technically didn’t need all the parent and classroom procedure information. All he was really aware of was the sign up sheet being passed around for parents to leave their information so the teacher could schedule one-on-one conferences as the year went on. He kept a firm grip on Selene’s hand as the meeting went on. He thought about letting go once or twice, upon seeing Mrs. Carroll’s prying eyes and wondering if his presence was going to bring more attention to Selene than she’d thought it would. But as though she could read his mind (or perhaps she too was privy to Carroll’s gaze), Selene would squeeze his hand and give him a little smile.
The rest of the open house went without incident. Ms. Pérez ended the meeting by reminding parents to sign the information sheet if they hadn’t already and encouraging them to ask her questions or talk to her personally if they had any concerns. Selene grabbed her purse in one hand and used the other to haul Loki to his feet.
“Let’s get the hell out of here,” She hissed, waving Raven over from where she was with her friends.
They wove their way between families, waving goodbye to the Sweeney as they went. Raven pulled away from her group with a “My mom and her boyfriend are leaving now. Bye!”
Loki quickly turned to look at Selene, whose face was growing pink. Her lips quirked in an apologetic half smile before holding an arm out to her approaching daughter. “Let’s go, miss thing.”
Loki loosened his grip on her hand, giving her the chance to pull away. They’d never explicitly discussed their relationship, though he was quite sure she felt the same way as him. Despite this, he didn’t want to assume anything. He figured that there must be a reason they hadn’t yet had the conversation. Instead of letting go, Selene instead laced their fingers together almost spitefully as Raven bounded up to them.
“Let’s go before-”
“Selene!”
“Too late.” She sighed, turning to face her caller.
Melissa Carroll intercepted them as they crossed the threshold of the classroom. “The ladies and I are getting coffee tomorrow after dropping the kids off, you should join us!”
“Aw, I have to get to work right after drop-off.” Selene replied, a look of false disappointment on her face.
“Oh, c’mon. You really can’t spare us ten minutes?”
“I really can’t.”
“Ugh, you work for the Avengers.” Mrs. Carroll rolled her eyes. “Surely there are no bad guys to fight at 9 o’clock in the morning.” Her eyes flickered to Loki for a fraction of a second, and he got the very distinct feeling that he was being visually dissected. He bristled, slipping his hand out of Selene’s to rest it at the small of her back, for his own sanity as well as hers.
“I’m actually working two jobs at the moment, Melissa.” Selene snapped. “Yes, I work with the Avengers, but I also have my day job working in police investigations.”
“I guess you would need two jobs,” Carroll muttered, eyeing Selene’s fingers pointedly, as if in search of a wedding band. “Don’t suppose your boyfriend is sticking around.”
“You don’t know anything about us.” Loki growled suddenly, eyes flashing at the woman. He took a step in front of Selene, anger bubbling up. “I’ll thank you not to comment on our lives.”
“Goodbye, Melissa.” Selene said firmly, taking Loki’s hand and tugging him away. “Thanks for defending my honor, Loki-love.” She murmured once they’d gotten out of earshot
“I’d do it again in a heartbeat.” He promised. “You were right, that woman was insufferable. I didn’t much care for her husband, either.”
“I don’t know what his deal is, he honestly gives me the creeps.” Selene shook her head. “And Melissa is just passive aggressive as hell- Raven, don’t repeat that word - and seems to think the world revolves around her.”
Loki chuckled, fingers skating over the top of Raven’s hair as she stared up in wonder at her mother. “You didn’t hear anything, sweetness.” He said.
“I heard everything. ” She replied indignantly. “She said a bad word.”
“That’s ridiculous. I only say nice words.” Selene poked her daughter’s side, causing her to shriek with laughter and jolt away. “How could you say otherwise?”
“Just like that!” Raven replied triumphantly.
Selene gasped. “That’s it, c’mere.” She lunged at Raven, just barely missing her as she darted away and off down the empty hall, giggling madly. “I can’t believe you’d slander me like this!” She called out after her.
“Your own mother,” Loki added, shaking his head in disbelief.
“You’re both weird.” Raven decided, rejoining them.
“We’re delightful.” Selene grinned.
. . .
As soon as they returned to the house, Raven rounded the corner to her bedroom, making loud kissing noises at Loki and Selene as she went. Before anyone could say a word, she disappeared into her room with the smuggest look Loki had ever seen on a nine-year-old.
Selene shook her head with a quiet laugh, easing her wedge heels off and falling onto the couch. Loki joined her after a beat, smirking as she tossed her shoes a few feet away.
“I thought shoes didn’t belong there.”
“Shhhhh,” She pressed a finger to his lips, eyes twinkling. “What Raven doesn’t know won’t hurt her. I’ll get them later.”
“I’ll tell her.” He threatened.
“You’ll do no such thing. You’re supposed to be on my side, boyfriend.”
Loki’s retort caught in his throat. He felt his face heating up as he looked away. “I do not believe we’ve discussed such terms,” He replied softly.
“We haven’t,” Selene agreed. “Raven thinks we have, though. She asked me the other day if you were my boyfriend and I kinda dodged the question. I guess she drew her own conclusions.”
“That girl is marvelously perceptive for her age,” He murmured.
Selene hummed in agreement. Silence stretched for a few agonizing seconds. Loki twisted the beads on the bracelet Raven had made for him, his name spelled out in the same colorful letters as Selene’s Mommy bracelet. He’d been so thrilled when Raven had gifted it to him- thrusting it into his hands with a bashful smile that’d only grown wider once he’d told her he’d wear it always.
“Do you want to discuss it?” She asked hesitantly.
“Yes.” Loki answered quickly. Too quickly.
Selene giggled, reaching for his hand. He gave it easily, and she held it in her lap. “So. I think at this point we’re well aware of how we both feel about each other.”
“Yes.”
“We should probably still say it out loud, though. Just so we’re on the same page.”
“Certainly.”
They held eye contact for a minute before Selene started laughing again. “Okay, so when we say stuff out loud one of us has to start. And ideally say more than one word at a time.”
“I understand that, I’m just volunteering you.”
“Ah. We call that being volun-told in this house.”
“An apt term.” Loki’s mouth twitched. “Whenever you’re ready, darling.”
“Weren’t you so eager to talk literally twenty seconds ago?”
“There’s a difference between having the discussion and starting it.”
“No kidding,” She muttered, scrubbing a hand down her face. “Okay. I… I really like you. I like that you’re funny, kind, and smart, and you have never had any reservations about helping me with Raven or letting me talk about my bullshit. You’ve never once hesitated to talk to me or hang out with me, or just be with me, despite my obvious baggage.”
Loki nodded, swallowing thickly as Selene fiddled carefully with his fingers. “I quite like doing all that, you know.”
She laughed. “It’s just that…. I’m really grateful to have you, especially since there hasn’t been anyone else that I’ve felt safe to be this vulnerable with in years.”
“That’s one of many things we share,” Loki murmured.
Selene cracked a smile. “Yeah?”
“You…” Loki paused to organize his thoughts. “You are possibly the most fascinating person I’ve ever met. You have demons in your past that you’re struggling to work though, yet you focus your life and your energies towards helping and understanding others. You’re patient, you’re clever, you’re endlessly engaging to simply be around, and you make it easy to speak candidly about my past and misgivings. You… Norns. ” He chuckled, staring down at his and Selene’s hands. “This is difficult.”
“Maybe we cut to the chase?” Her lips quirked upwards. “We may be adding a little too much spice to this conversation.”
“Mmm. Perhaps.”
Selene took a deep breath before curling her fingers under Loki’s jaw, turning his face gently to look at her. He swore he stopped breathing, and his skin seemed to alight under her touch. “I want to kiss you,” She stated, her eyes firm and unwavering on his. “Do you want to kiss me?”
“Yes.” He choked. “Desperately.”
“Well then. That works out, doesn’t it?” And she pressed her lips to his.
Loki was alive again. He hadn’t thought he’d been dead before, but he must’ve. How else would Selene be breathing life back into him as her mouth moved deliciously against his? How else could it be that Selene’s hands cupping his face and sliding down his neck invigorated him with energy he’d never had before? Loki gripped her arms, pulling her closer as he responded, deepening the kiss with a quiet hum. He couldn't help but whimper quietly at the urgency with which she kissed him.
“God you’re so fucking hot- you’re like the most gorgeous man I’ve ever seen.” Selene groaned against his lips, kissing him more fervently. “You’re so good and you’re so sweet and you make me feel like a goddamn queen.”
Loki wrapped an arm around her, dragging her half onto his lap, caution fully thrown into the wind. “You are a queen,” He replied breathlessly. “You’re the most beautiful queen of all, with a mind and a soul that I’m absolutely enchanted by.”
“Ugh, Lokes. ” She pressed kisses down the column of his throat. “I’m so fucking into you, it’s unreal. You’re unreal. Is this a dream? Am I dreaming this?”
“Impossible,” He replied, breath hitching as he knotted his fingers in her hair. “You can’t be dreaming, I’m the one who’s dreaming.”
Selene dragged her mouth off his neck with a low growl. Loki noticed with some disappointment that her lipstick had not in fact smeared against his skin. He frowned, swiping a finger over her lips. Nothing but a few red grains came off.
“It’s matte,” She explained with a soft giggle. “It dries after application.”
“Pity,” He murmured, eliciting another laugh. “I’ve had a recurring fantasy about you painting me with your lip prints.”
“I’ll have to keep that in mind, then.”
Loki grinned, still breathing heavily as he wrapped his arms around her again, gentler this time. He leaned back on the couch with Selene lying against him, her own arms looping around his waist. “I’d say we’re on the same page now, yes?”
“Definitely. I mean- if you wanted to keep clarifying I wouldn’t stop you, but I’d say we’re pretty clear either way.”
He chuckled, kissing her hairline. “You have to tell me a fantasy, now.”
“Hmm?”
“I told you one, now you’ve got to share.”
“I didn’t realize this was transactional.”
“It doesn’t have to be,” Loki conceded. “But I do feel it’s only fair.”
Selene hummed in consideration, nuzzling into the crook of Loki’s neck. “I think about you kinda… leaning over me.”
Loki was quiet for a moment. “I just told you I want you to mark me. You think about me leaning over you? ”
“Loki. I am five-foot-one. You’ve got about twelve inches on me. You literally tower over me- it’s really attractive. ”
“If you say so, love.”
“Do you not comprehend your own height? I hate you. I take all this back; you’re the worst.”
“No, you can’t back out now.” Loki squeezed her tightly to his chest with a low chuckle. “You’ve admitted that you want me, now you’re stuck with me.”
“Good,” He felt her smile against his skin. “You’re stuck with me, too.”
“Excellent.” Loki brushed a hand gently through her hair, smiling tenderly down at her. “I want nothing more, darling Selene.”
She laughed against his skin. "Sweet prince," She cooed back.
Their hearts thumped steadily against each other.

✨Summer in asgard🌞🏖️
Note: Hey! So uh I've been writing lots but never shared my things. So here you go you thirsty readers!! 🥳 Apologies if there are spelling mistakes.
[Small fanfic! 1/?]
It was finally summer, the air was warmer than ever before and everyone was outside. The gods were tending to their assigned tasks, such as taking care of animals and their fields but a certain God was slacking off, it was none other than Loki, no doubt. Like always he had figured out how to not be helping when it was about the chores, his wife Sigyn even made sure he did them enough at home. Loki would rather be amusing himself and playing around when he is technically not supposed to than anything else. So right around where Idunn kept her apples, in her spectacular garden, that's where all the children could be heard laughing and screaming, Loki knew exactly where to go.
He was childish and playful at heart, perfect for the big family of his where he had so many kids that always needed to be entertained. Talking about these kids, he decided to go there and try to find them, not wanting to spend his time any longer watching all the gods do their boring tasks. There was only one person he could watch all day if he had too, do house work or what not. That was his wife Sigyn! But even then if she didn't give him enough attention, like a little puppy he would not be having fun for much longer. On a field as far as the eye could see sat children all around and Loki spotted some familiar faces. He smiles warmly as one of them noticed him right away, "Pappa!" Narfi shouts, jumping out of Hel's lap that he was just sitting on. Loki bent down go catch his youngest son in a hug and ruffled his messy hair.
They both laughed, then Loki spoke "How's my little copy doing? I see you, Hel and some other kids are out here on the field" he said looking at Narfi who excitedly for once would listen to what his father had to say, he didn't listen to Loki a lot. "Yeah! We are making flower crowns, Hel was making mine just now" he giggles looking back at Hel, who still sat at her place clearly busy making something hidden in the grass,which the two knew what was. Loki was glad to see Narfi be a bit more out of his shell, it really made his fatherly heart swell and it just felt so right seeing him this way. Usually the boy is so cold and quiet to everyone he talks too, definitely the shyest being in the whole of the 9 realms Loki had ever seen. "Ah i see, well we should run back to her so she doesn't keep the crown to herself. She's a greedy queen after all" Loki jokes, before Narfi grabs his hand and starts running while giggling.
Hel looks up slightly from the sound of noises coming towards her with a blank expression, only when she sees her younger brother fall into her lap she cracks a smile. She gets a clearer view and sees her father too, "Well look what the little fox brought back, the cunning serpant that isn't helping mom at home" she says jokingly, petting Narfis messy fluffy hair. "That was his daughter", Loki thought to himself always rubbing it in when he was being irresponsible, at this point even she, who was only 15 knew better than Loki. " Yeah yeah, I get it no need to rub it in!" He smiles as he sits down in front of them, looking at the flower crowns they had made, all in different colors and shapes.
"What, who else will remind you of the guilt you should feel for spending your time away on behaving like a reckless child?" Hel would only continue, she really knew what she was on about. "That shouldn't be on you, that's for sure young lady. Now how many of these are you keeping? Me and Narvi know your secrets" Loki said before curiously picking up a flower crown from the ground and looking at it, Narfi happily instructs for Loki to try it on, and he does. "Oh are you spreading rumors that I am greedy again father, to this little precious thing" she chuckled, poking Narfi on the cheek, she gives her father that look she always makes when he did something funny to her liking. "Oh~ how did you figure that out so quickly?" Loki responded in a half singing tone, excited by the fact she caught on so quickly.
"Hehe, what can I say, with a father like you, you have to teach yourself what to expect" Hel laughs, at some time she started working on Narfi's flower crown again and finally she had finished it in a few seconds. Placing it proudly on her younger brothers head which he happily let's her do, it lands and fits perfectly on his round head. "Fair enough" is all Loki said back, picking up a straw before chewing on it, leaning back into the field ready for a nap. He was clearly done with the conversation now. Hel shook her head and looks at Narfi with a smile, "Well what do you think? Suits a little prince like you doesn't it?" she complimented Narfi who right away couldn't help but blush, he burried his face into his hands, it was too much. Hel smiles and pets his head, "Aww I'm sorry Narvi, you're just such a pretty boy" suddenly she got up. The other kids around them were busy with their things and so Hel didn't bother to care if they were leaving, "Let's go show mamma how pretty you are" she said grabbing Narfis hand, he got up too nodding.
He seemed to have calmed down now, very pleased with his new crown. Loki peaks his eye open and seeing as his kids were leaving he might as well follow them home. He gets up as they started walking and easily would catch up, he pats their heads from behind smiling down at them, "I wonder if your mom finds me just as handsome as she will you two". Knowing their dad was being silly again they decided to come up with somethings to respond with back, " Don't flatter yourself too much, maybe that's why she doesn't bother letting you help her" Hel smirks. They boys would burst out laughing but not as loud as Narfi. Narfi wanted to try saying something next, "besides we all know she favors me and Vali over you" he would stick his tounge out teasingly. Loki only found this hilarious, "ouch alright I get it! But watch that tounge or I will take it" he playfully scares, knowing Narfi actually believes him. Sometimes the little guy reminded Loki of himself a little too much.

When the ball started, to celebrate your arrival back to Du Weldenvarden you watched as Thor's, Sif's and Loki's faces contorted in distaste of the meals they were served. You told them to just try it and stop showing any signs that they are not elves. You couldn't let you get exposed. Not now.
You barely managed to keep yourself from choke Vraë to death who was sitting from across you at the long table. When you could get to rest and politely said your goodbyes to the elves and their king you sighed as you got out of ear shot.
'We need to wait to make our move' looked at you Loki when it was just the two of you in the woods. You looked up at him and smiled sadly.
'You can see through me so easily' your voice was quiet and weak. This whole situation made you weak. Coming back to the place where you grew up to see that your mother's memories were no more, like she wasn't the best ruler or the finest warrior it all made you sad and angry at the same time.
'Because we are bonded, do not forget that' smiled at you Loki cupping your face in his large hands. 'My heart beats with yours and never misses a beat.'
You placed your hands on his chest as he leaned down and placed a soft kiss on your lips. It was sweet and filled with love. You wished you could stay like that for eternity but you knew anyone could expose you at any moment. You pulled away with a sigh and rested your forehead on his shoulder circling your arms around his waist.
'After we finished with Vraë, I'm going to find the one who slayed Srunugr and make him suffer till he will beg for death' you whispered. The Trickster god chuckled lowly at your swearing.
'I knew you were fearful but never to this extent' purred in your ear Loki before pulling away. You walked back to your trees to take some rest your plan already formed and perfected.
Time skip~
The next morning you woke with a start from your nightmare. Your chest ascended and descended with your quick breaths while sweat beads rolled down on your forehead and temple. You shivered by the memories but you just got out of bed and put your clothes on. You wore a light armor like everyone else of the warriors knowing it wouldn't pick interest. The four of you were invited by the king for a private meeting as he thought you brought information about Eragon and the Academy.
The others were waiting for you at the small square a few trees away wearing their own light armor. You couldn't help but eye Loki for a little bit longer than you should've making him smirk and you blush.
'The plan is clear, I think, is it not?' asked Sif and everyone nodded. The other elves were nowhere around making it easier for you to move around and unnoticed.
'We go in, take him down, the barrier opens and the elves will be uncontrolled by anyone' you answered so the three of them nodded in response. 'He's strong and skilled in battle but he cannot take on two sorcerers and two skilled warriors too.'
'I could sense the black magic he uses. It will be difficult to take him down' Loki furrowed his eyebrows. 'But I have something I could use against him... I need to get close to him so you should make a distraction.'
'We'll solve the problem' you replied. The walk to the palace was spent in silence everyone concentrating on your task. You knew if you couldn't take Vraë down now you won't be able to anymore and he will kill you. You felt sick at murdering someone in the palace Arya ruled once. It felt like you were going to smear a saint place. You passed guards and noble men until you reached the conference room Vraë was waiting for you. You opened the door and walked in before noticing twelve guards standing in the room with Vraë.
You bowed deeply the others following your actions.
'Good morning, my friends!' smiled at you the elven king with his dripping sweet tone. 'I was informed that you have new information about the island of Sharian. Is this true?'
'Yes, my king. We brought news' you replied. '(Name) Dröttningu is there at the moment and is training with the new recruits.'
His eyes widened in surprise but soon his face changed into deep anger. You watched his hands ball into fists and you almost couldn't keep yourself from smirking.
'I see... and how is she? Did she bring someone to the lands of the neighboring realm to Alagaësia?' asked Vraë and now you let your smirk appear on your face, the illusion fading around you showing your own face to him. You watched his eyes widen both in utter surprise and shock.
'Yes, I did bring my friends who will help me get my revenge on you and on the Soulles King! You betrayed my mother, queen Arya! You had a contract with the Soulless King back then for the elven throne!' you hissed angrily. The guards started moving towards the four of you when finally they realized the situation. 'Now!' you shouted at your friends.
Thor slammed his hammer in the six guards coming at him knocking them back and unconscious while Sif and Loki knocked unconscious the other six. You drew your sword, Kweikva out of its sheath pointing it at Vraë.
'You use dark magic to control your people and you're the ally of the enemy of all of the realms we know of! You betrayed your home and people!' you cried out angrily. Vraë lifted his hands as they started glowing with a dark-violet color. You shot an energy ball not waiting for him to attack which he avoided but Loki's green ball of energy hit him square in the chest knocking him back into a wall. You approached him but the elven king was quickly recovering from the shot and stood up to shot you with dark magic. You lifted Kweikva to dodge the balls but failed to notice that Vraë teleported close to you. The sharp pain in your ribcage made you realize that you left your sides unprotected. Loki cried out angrily as you tried to turn around and strike back but the elf was nowhere to be seen. The Trickster grabbed you to steady you and looked into your (e/c) eyes with worry.
'I'm alright... you need to stop him' you said before your vision blurred and darkness creeped into it. You heard Sif and Thor fight with someone and a familiar voice cry out in pain before everything went dark.
You woke with a start in the bed of your tree-house. You quickly examined your surroundings before you noticed a large hand gripping yours before someone pulled you into a tight embrace.
'Easy, easy' the voice hushed and you recognized it. You grabbed his arm in front of your chest.
'W-what happened?' you asked in a whisper because your throat felt dry.
'Vraë has fallen' answered Loki as he let go of you to sit on your bedside. Tears started flowing down from your eyes as you realized that it was over, you finished what you swore to finish so long ago. You took revenge on him for betraying your mother and your people... and now you have a whole nation's weight on your shoulders. 'The elves are happy to be themselves again and are waiting for you to wake.'
'Where are Sif and Thor?' you asked.
'I do not know' he shook his head. 'But I think they are not far away.'
You noticed some uneasiness on the beautiful prince's face so you took hold of his hand drawing his attention to you and asked:
'What bothers you, love?' your voice echoed in the small room as he just stared down on the sheets of your bed. The silence was deafening and your confusion and concern grew with each passing second he kept silent. 'Loki, you can te-'
'What about us? What will happen now?' his voice sounded distant and sad. Your eyebrows furrowed as you tried to gather why he was asking that. 'I was sent here to help you get rid of Vraë and the Soulless King and the battle is coming soon. I can feel it approaching... and our deal was meant to end after that. What are your plans?'
Your eyebrows rouse high on your forehead before you furrowed them again and yelled at him.
'Don't you dare thinking about leaving me! I will go after you and chase you till you will marry me!' your angry pout and burning cheeks were a sight he never knew would see again. It reminded him too much of the days he used to be bickering with you. Loki looked at you wide eyed but soon his thin lips wavered and pulled up in a smile before he erupted in laughter. 'What?!'
'You will chase me to make me your husband?' laughed Loki. He grabbed you and pulled you into a tight embrace as he whispered in your ear. 'Careful, I may take your word.'
Your cheeks flared up with a new shade of red making him chuckle again before pressing a soft kiss on your lips. You melted into it as you grasped the back of his neck to pull him closer and pressed your chest to his as his arms snaked around your waist. When you couldn't take anymore the lack of oxygen you pulled away but a wide smile remained on your lips.
'I promised you that you could be king... my king' you whispered looking deep into his eyes feeling your stomach fill with butterflies. Loki's pupils grew wide but he pulled away and started caressing your skin where your neck and jaw met.
'Stop before I will not let you get out of that bed' his voice was low and you could feel the self-control and want laced with it. You blushed hardly again but not because of his words but how you could feel your feminine parts tingle. Thor suddenly burst into the room followed by Sif and when they noticed you were awake they rushed you. You smiled at them and laughed at their enthusiasm.
A few days later~
You settled any conflicts in the elven council with the members and with the noblemen. They insisted on choosing you as their queen seeing how you always protected your people and how you did everything to protect them. You introduced Loki to the council and a few days needed for them to see that he would be much help to you in ruling. Loki showed them how skilled he was with politics.
The elves were amazed by Thor's stories and Loki's knowledge in magic. He showed them spells and potions they never knew before. The dark prince of Asgard finally found people who appreciated his skills and respected him he always wished to be respected. You could see him glow with a new kind of light while he showed off his magic tricks. It was a sunny day when the elves gathered around to say their goodbyes and good wishes to you four and those warriors who decided to join the battle with the Soulless King. You sat on an elven horse with dark brown coat while Loki sat on a black one. Your companions were sitting on horses too as you galloped through the woods towards Osilon an elven city farthest to the eastern side of Du Weldenvarden's thick forests.
'Are you nervous?' asked Loki leading his horse closer to you. You smiled up at him with determination in your eyes.
'I am prepared this time and I will not let the killer of Srunugr get away again or win' you answered. You looked down in your lap before you continued. 'But we will win together and... if we fall we will fall together.'
Loki smiled at you lovingly and nodded at you even if his smile was laced with worry and sadness fearing the latter.
To be continued...

Ruby bothers the Avengers
Tumblr media
My OC Ruby again today. And this time you get some backstory to go with it. Ruby is half frost giant, half human, all trouble maker. She isn’t a villain, even if she is a menace to society. Would you believe she grew up in a supportive and loving home?
See, before the events of any of the movies Loki had gone to Earth. And he ended up meeting a woman named Alice Little. Like Alice in wonderland haha. And he was thinking “wouldn’t it just be hilarious if I I brought her to Asgard, told people I was in love with her.” (He was not) But then, he hears that Odin is going to make Thor the next king?!? And now he’s got way more important things to do so he just stops going to Earth.
So Loki stops going to Earth, and Alice is heart broken, but more importantly she’s pregnant. And she didn’t even know until After Loki disappeared. But, she has the baby. A little albino baby who she names Ruby. And it’s hard to be a single mom, but even worse when you have a little red eyed demon baby with super strength and ice powers. But she meets a man named Warren White, who is a single dad himself and might know a bit of magic that can help her and her kid. Warren and Alice fall in love, get married, you know, Brady Bunch it up. So Ruby ends up with step brothers and half brothers and two good parents. And somehow they manage to raise the kids in a way that doesn’t end up with out of control sibling rivalry. And then Ruby jumps in front of a car to keep one of her siblings from getting hit. She then proceeds to curse out the driver “someone could have been hurt, you jack ass!” Before walking away. And the incident was caught on camera and ends up getting to Shield. Shield is very interested but she’s still a kid so although they test her powers to see what she can do, they mostly just keep an eye on her. And Warren has to hide the fact that he’s a sorcerer from Shield. And that works out fine until the events of the first Avengers movie where Tony Stark gets on a helicarrier and hacks into Shield’s database and finds her. And everyone is yelling about potential child soldiers and Thor notices that when she is using her ice power she turns blue and why is there a frost giant child on Earth?
But Thor doesn’t mention that Loki is secretly a frost giant and so nobody connects the dots. Until Loki’s face gets plastered all over the news and wouldn’t you know it, Alice still knows what he looks like. But she doesn’t get in contact with Shield about it until after Thor, Loki, and the tesseract are all back on Asgard.
And it’s fine, really, but maybe Ruby would like to talk to someone about the whole half frost giant thing? So she decides to not stalk Thor’s girlfriend Jane Foster, because if he comes back to earth he’ll go see her right? And when Jane gets got by the reality stone and Thor whisks her away, Ruby jumps into the Bifrost after him. And it was for sure an accident that Heimdal left the bifrost open long enough for her to get in (it was on purpose). And he definitely knows exactly who she is. And everyone else is mad that she’s there for one reason or another. Except Frigga. She’s Happy to meet her first grandchild, even if the circumstances are less than Ideal. But Ruby has to keep the whole frost giant thing under wraps. Odin demands it.
That lasts until the dark elves show up. Ruby can’t fight at full strength without turning blue. But hey, Frigga isn’t dead, so you’re welcome. But somehow the people who don’t know come to the wrong conclusion and decide that she must be half asgardian and half frost giant, not half human. So sure, fine. Loki finally hears that he has a child from a gossipy guard and he’s not even sure who the kids mom is. Thor still decides to have Loki help him. Loki and Ruby meet. Loki fakes his own so he doesn’t have to take responsibility for his actions. The rest of the movie proceeds more or less as normal.
That’s all I’ve got for now and thank you for reading.

Gravity Of You, Chapter 5
Tumblr media
When Lyra woke up the next morning, she could smell food. So after sliding out of the bed, she got dressed and left the room.
She was surprised when she walked out of the bedroom. There were wooden steps made for various places in the kitchen so she could reach the counter tops, one by the sofa so she wouldn’t need to clamber up. And also some by the window ledges so she could sit there if she wanted.
‘Wow, you’ve been busy. How long have you been up for?’ Lyra asked as she went over towards Loki.
He beamed happily at her. ‘A few hours. It’s mid-morning.’
‘What? How long was I asleep for?’ Lyra gasped and rushed over to take a look out of one of the windows, not that she really knew what she was looking for to be able to tell the time of day.
‘Quite a while.’ Loki chuckled. ‘You must’ve been needing it though, travelling through the Bifrost can take a lot out of you the first time.’
‘I can’t really believe how great a sleep I had.’ She said sheepishly as she sat on the ledge and watched Loki from there.
‘I’m glad, I was worried you’d be too scared to sleep.’ Loki said as walked over to her with a plate for her.
‘Thank you… Why would I have been too scared?’ She frowned as she put the plate on her lap.
‘Because you’re in a strange realm, with a monster under the same roof.’ Loki sat at the table with his breakfast.
Lyra hopped down off the window-ledge and went to join Loki at the table too, using what he’d built for her so she could sit a bit higher at the table.
‘You’re not a monster. Please, stop saying that.’
Loki looked at her across the table, studying her closely for a moment. ‘Lyra… I appreciate that you don’t see me as such, but many do. I did some terrible things, and worse yet, I am not even sure if I regret them.’ He said honestly.
‘But if you’d been brought up where Jotuns weren’t your enemy, if they were allies and Odin never told you horror stories about them to scare you as a kid… You wouldn’t see yourself as a monster then, would you?’
Loki didn’t know what to say at first, he had never thought of it that way before.
‘I… I don’t know. But they are enemies, I was brought up to fear them, now I know I am one.’
Lyra really felt for Loki. She wished she could just make it all better for him. He had been there for her so much over her years, she wanted to do the same for him.
‘You’re too hard on yourself, Loki.’
‘You need to take your own advice too, darling. I remember the year you spent, blaming yourself…’ Loki didn’t need to finish, knowing that Lyra knew he was meaning after her parents passed.
‘I… I guess. But I did get over that and come to terms that it wasn’t my doing, wasn’t my fault. And you will too, even if it takes time.’ She gave him a soft smile across the table.
‘We shall see.’ He said as he focused on his food, hoping the subject would change.
And it did. Loki told her a little about Asgard, then suggested they go for a walk after breakfast. While he couldn’t take her into the city, as he knew that Odin would no doubt have guards all around the place to make sure he didn’t return, he could still show her other places.
So off they went after breakfast, down the side of the mountain. It was a beautiful sunny day and Loki had packed some lunch for them to take. He didn’t really have a specific place in mind to take her, but he was just pleased that she seemed excited to see some of the planet.
At the bottom of the mountain, they came across a beautiful waterfall.
‘I’ve been here a few times with my brother and his friends. We’d often swim here after a successful hunting trip.’
‘It’s beautiful. The water is crystal clear!’ Lyra said in awe as she knelt down at the edge and peered into the water.
Lyra let out a gasp when rainbow coloured fish with five eyes began jumping out of the water not far from where they were. Loki chuckled at her reaction.
‘I guess some of the fish here are rather different to what you’re used to back home.’ Loki said as h picked up a large stick and pulled out a dagger, that he used to sharpen the end of the stick into a spear.
‘Yeah, our fish just have two eyes and are not that colour.’ She laughed and took off her shoes and socks, then rolled up her leggings and let her feet dip into the water.
Loki waded into the water and bided his time until the fish started jumping again, then he speared a few for them to take back to the cabin.
‘I’m guessing they’re safe to eat?’ Lyra asked when Loki joined her back at the edge of the water. He was only wet from his abdomen down, but he wouldn’t take long to dry in the sun.
‘They are, and they are delicious.’ Loki grinned.
They soon carried on with their walk and Loki took her to the top of a hill that wasn’t far from the city, it was within view and Lyra was stunned upon seeing it. The house of Odin stood magnificently over the rest of the city, all the gold glistened in the sun and the rainbow bridge was sparkling beside it.
‘Wow.’ She said, slightly breathless at seeing such a beautiful sight.
Loki sighed as he leaned against a humungous oak tree that rested upon the hill, arms over his chest. Lyra was stood a few feet on front, but she turned and walked over to be next to Loki.
‘What’s wrong?’ She asked, looking up at him.
‘I want to show you around the city, but I know that Odin will have guards there, making sure I don’t return. And I am annoyed at how beautiful the damn place looks, when part of me wants to so desperately watch it burn.’ He growled low, eyes locked on said city.
Lyra frowned, then looked to the tree. She quickly scrambled up the lower limbs with some ease until she was on a thick branch that was at Loki’s eye level.
Loki had heard the noise of her climbing it, he turned his face towards her and smirked in amusement as she was now at his level, though she was lying on the branch with her arms and legs wrapped around it. Clearly not feeling too secure up there.
‘I know you’re still feeling angry about what Odin has done to you. But Frigga and your brother are still in there, all the citizens of the city, you don’t really want them in danger… Do you?’ Lyra asked, looking right into Loki’s eyes.
His face softened a little. ‘I guess not.’ He sighed again. ‘But I am not angry about what Odin has done to me, I am angry that he’s brought you into it. He’s punishing you for something that I did. When you had nothing to do with it.’
‘And it’s backfired on him.’ Lyra stated as she started shuffling to a sitting up position on the branch.
Loki raised an eyebrow at her.
‘I couldn’t be happier to be here, Loki… To be with you.’ She admitted, blushing.
He was stuck for a moment with what to say. But before he could have a chance to reply, she managed to throw herself from the branch towards him. He felt panic rush through him as he caught her in his arms.
She giggled and blushed even more, especially when he just kept her in his arms and didn’t put her down.
‘Why did you do that? You could’ve hurt yourself!’ Loki said once he got his mind to work again.
‘I knew you’d catch me. I trust you, Loki.’ She reached up and placed her hand on his cheek, making his heart skip a beat.
‘Maybe you shouldn’t be so trusting of me. I don’t want you to get hurt.’ He said with a frown. He was trying to will himself to put her down, but for some reason he just couldn’t bring himself to do so.
He liked having her in his arms…
‘You won’t hurt me, because you don’t want to. I know you won’t. I just wish you’d trust yourself, too… Do you never get cold because of your cold skin?’ She asked distractedly as she trailed her fingers up and down his cheek.
‘Nope, I could survive in the coldest depths of winter outside.’ He said as he reluctantly placed her down onto her feet. Then he cheekily slid his fingers under her top and focused more of his cold to there, making her squeal and jump.
‘You can control how cold you are?’ She gasped after swatting at his hand playfully, making him chuckle.
‘I can indeed.’ He hummed. ‘Which is good, otherwise you’d have died of frostbite by now.’
‘You can go that cold?’ She asked in amazement.
‘I can.’ Loki nodded. ‘Come on, we best start making our way back.’
Lyra nodded in agreement and as they started to walk, Lyra automatically reached up and grabbed hold of Loki’s hand, well, his fingers because she couldn’t really wrap her hand around his large one.
That made Loki freeze and look down at her in surprise.
‘Sorry.’ She said bashfully as she quickly retracted her hand.
But Loki shook his head. ‘No need to apologise.’ He opened his hand to her, making her smile as she put hers into his and he engulfed her hand entirely as they walked back to their cabin.

Just look at them
Summary: Loki is your childhood best friend who Odin planned for you to marry but you’re in love with thor who didn’t even notice you
Loki x reader , platonic to romantic love
He has always been the center of attention, strong and brave and everybody loved.
You loved him.
For centuries.
But no matter how you tried you were just the little royal servant, you were only allowed to stay near the sons of Odin is because frigga had a liking to you.
You weren’t good at battle nor were you that smart, you only knew how to do chores and make sure the queen looked her best.
Loki befriended you quickly become of how much time you spend with his mother.
It was a little less lonely with him around, he would be the one to sit beside you when the other are training or stay behind in the palace to keep you company.
It didn’t take him long to figure out you liked his brother and throughout the years he watched you fall deeper in love with him and get heartbroken every time he’s with someone new.
The worst part was, you never showed how upset you were.
But when Odin noticed the way you looked at his son he got the idea to marry you to his youngest.
One to distract him from the throne and two to keep you away from thor.
Loki protested against it because he knew this isn’t what you wanted but he only got shot down and threatened to be locked away.
Frigga hugged you the day of your marriage.
You requested a small ceremony with only people from the palace, it was the only thing you had control over.
Loki kissed you.
Both of you hugged after that, not because you’re happy but because you’re scared.
Like back when you are kids, when one of Loki’s pranks goes terribly wrong and both of you are in trouble.
You held each other tight that first night, promising to protect each other.
Being married to Loki wasn’t a bad change, you didn’t have anymore chores to do and you wear nicer clothes.
"Loki"
"Yes?"
"Do you think will be married forever?"
His heart would sting, how should he answer a question like that.
"I don’t know, maybe one day father would long be gone and then you wouldn’t have to be with me like this anymore"
You would fall asleep in his arms every single night without fail.
Loki would wish between him and himself alone that hopefully you’ll forget the love you hold for his brother.
He was starting to believe you were slowly losing affection.
That until Jane foster.
The day thor brought her to Asgard, was the day you broke down.
His heart crumble to a million pieces as you cried in his arms for hours.
You ended up sick straight after and that was his last straw.
Loki stormed through the palace halls until he reached his brother’s chamber and slammed the door opened.
"Brother what brings you he-" he stabbed him, it wasn’t a harmful one thor is supposed to be used to it by now but it shock him how angry his brother looked.
"You arrogant airhead!" This he punched him.
"I’m not fighting you loki!"
Loki still didn’t stop throwing punches and making daggers appear to try and stab him again.
"How could you! How could you hurt them like that!?"
Thor stared at loki confused.
"They are sick now and it’s all because of you!" That’s when Thor realized who he meant.
"I didn’t do anything to harm y/n! Are you accusing your own brother of harming your partner!?"
Loki stopped attacking, his voice tired of screaming and tears form in his eyes out of frustration.
"You damn idiot, they…they love you, they’ve loved you since the very beginning and they still do…" Thor felt his eyes soften at his brother’s words, he reached out to him but Loki slapped his hand away.
"They watched you jump from one person to another and I saw them get sadder and weaker as time passed…you don’t understand how painful is it to see the one person you…you LOVE DIE SLOWLY"
Yes he finally said it, he was in love with you.
"Brother, I don’t know what to say to you…I’m so-"
"Save it and listen to me, from now on and until our time is up on this life I will not stay silent about the pain they or I are feeling, I love you brother but they mean the world to me"
Thor kept his distance after that, not daring to even bring up Jane in front of any of you.
Loki stayed with you until you got better and when you were apply to leave your bed he told you he wanted to move out the palace.
"But why?"
"Because I can’t bare seeing those beautiful eyes of yours full with sadness again"
Loki always protected you, stayed your side and cried with you sometimes too.
And now, now something else was starting to bloom and the evidence to that was the way you wanted to kiss him right then and there.
"I promise, I keep you happy…just-" you warped your arms around his neck and kissed him.
His body froze but he quickly kissed you back.
When you pulled back you looked down shyly, for the first time since you got married had you kissed him with a meaning.
"I trust you, my husband" his heart pounded loudly and for the first time in a really long time, he felt like things were starting to brighten up.
For real this time.
And for both of you, not just him.
"I’m not lying to you, I promise, I promise over the life of my mother"
"I know, I know. I’m safe with you"

Blind to the quiet, deliberately hushed panic around you, you sit unmoving in your room at the end of your bed.
Vaguely you're aware of the voices around you. Familiar voices that normally would have brought you comfort and reassurance but right now, the sound of family brings you nothing.
Your little ones tucked away in their nursery with two Avengers to guard them and your loyal handmade, you don't worry over them right at this moment.
All of your thoughts are on your God of Thunder. The King of New Asgard, long blonde hair, one beautiful sapphire eye, taken from you only an hour ago.
You know that the Valkyrie have been mobilized. You can hear Sif and Loki talking over a map on the table by your lounge by the fire.
The Warrior's Three were keeping an eye out for any sign of Thor. Sif was making plans to join them soon.
Somewhere in your mind, you know that Hilde is standing out on the balcony atop a pure white winged horse. A fascinating sight if you were aware if I at any other time than now.
You make some kind of noise as you breathe in one shallow quivering breath and it brings them all to a standstill. Loki, Sif, Heimdall, Hilde, Bruce, Tony, Steve, Sam, Bucky, and even a new Avenger in training, Peter Parker freeze where they stand and their conversations quiet.
"You all have your tasks, best get your feet on the ground," Loki announces and with that the Avengers start to file out.
"She looks really sick, Mr. Stark. Are you sure she’s okay? Should I get her some juice?" Peter asks, trying to be subtle but failing easily.
"I don't think liquefied fruit is gonna cure her ailments, kid."
"Your Majesty?" Sif's voice is gentle.
You don't turn for her though.
Hilde calls your name and you don't respond. Unable to move your lips or find enough air to speak.
"Call me as soon as you know something," Loki tells them, vocally ushering them out.
"We'll find him, Your Majesty. And you and the Prince and Princess and Thor will all be together again. I promise," Sif declares, quiet but passionate.
Finally you look up, looking for anything in her face to show she’s just putting on her confidence to trick you, but she's serious.
She gives you a nod, squeezes your hand briefly, then turns and mounts Hilde's horse behind her.
Hilde bows her head to you then clicks her tongue and up into the sky they soar.
Slowly, Heimdall settles by the large fireplace, hands on his sword as his piercing eyes watch you without judgement.
For a moment as you both stare into each other’s eyes, you see your grief and sorrow reflected in his eyes. It’s subtle, and he’s got a good mask on it, but you recognize that agony.
His face relaxes a little, commiserating.
He answers your question before you even ask it, “I will be at your side until Thor has returned. Your safety is my only concern, my queen.”
Loki moves to sit on the opposite corner of your bed from you, his hands grasping his knees as if he might be ready to get up and run if needed. He leans forward, trying to get a good look at your face but you’re still looking at Heimdall.
“You’re in shock,” Loki tells you, his voice tender around your name as he says it. “A little time and you’ll be alright.”
However, you’re not in shock anymore.
It takes a few more minutes of silence, your eyes straying back down to your hands clasped together between your knees, before you finally speak.
“His face, Loki,” you sigh. “It’s the same one he wore in every single nightmare I had.”
Most of them involving Jane and then eventually just some random faceless woman who would marry him someday in the future when you’re long gone and all that’s left of you is your children and the memories that only Thor will remember to keep cherished.
“It was a spell,” he reassures you, getting up until he can squat down in front of you. “One we can easily break.”
The second part of his assurance sounds like a lie. Something tells you it won’t be easy to break. Not the way he makes it sound.
You decide to ignore the instinct.
"Who was she, Loki? The woman?"
Loki sighs and gets back up, moving to stand by one of the open balcony windows to stare out at setting sun sky.
"Her name is Amora. She's an orphan from Asgard. Banished a long time ago because of her reckless use of the magic she learned from several Asgardian witches and wizards.
"As you saw, her obsession has been Thor for as long as I can remember. Thor never fell for her tricks but that hasn't prevented her from trying over and over to win his affections."
You try to connect the craziness Loki just described to the astonishing beauty you saw take Thor from you.
"Thor wouldn't go with her willingly," Loki clarifies and you look up to see him watching you, brow furrowed. "She may be beautiful but she's unhinged. She thinks she is owed the world. If she sees something she wants, she takes it despite the consequences of her actions."
You shudders remembering your little boy plummeting to the ground until Loki luckily interfered and portaled you and Tavis out of the air and into the nursery.
"I could kill her for what she did," you grumble.
"I would never have let her hurt him, or you," Loki promises. "Heimdall has been watching you closely the last month."
"With much pleasure and honor," Heimdall adds.
It does give you comfort that they seem to have had contingencies. Just in case.
"I was not expecting Amora," Loki confesses. "She is a formidable foe. We'll need to be ready before we face her."
"How?" you ask sadly. "How am I supposed to stand any kind of chance against her? Against magic? I can't do magic."
Loki and Heimdall exchange a look.
Your brother-in-law says your name with realization pulling your gaze to his accommodating face.
"There is no possible way that I am letting you anywhere near Amora."
The anger that rises in your belly changes all of your grief into a toxic sludge.
"Loki, you're not keeping me from this. I am getting Thor back and I will do it without you if I have to."
"I can't let you," Loki shakes his head and once again he's squatting in front of you, his hands on your knees. "Thor would kill me if I let you."
"Then I guess it's a good thing I'm your Queen and I'm not asking for your permission to let me save my husband. I am getting him back and you are welcome to come with me to help."
He opens his mouth to argue but you continue with more authority.
"And Thor has never had any control over me, so why you think I should care about what he'll say or do when he's home again I don't know."
Loki looks down at your feet, shaking his head before huffing with exasperation.
"And how exactly do you plan to find him?"
"That's what I have you for!"
Surprisingly, Heimdall chuckles once.
Both you and Loki look at him but there's no sign of a laugh on his face.
Loki stares at you, chin taut, eyes defiant as he stands and crosses his arms across his chest.
Is he refusing to help you?!
"Fine. If you won't help me, I'll do it myself."
You get up, pull down on the arms of Thor’s hoodie, and march for the door.
"Where are you going?" Loki demands.
"None of your business!"
"You were the one that recommended her to Thor," you can hear Heimdall remind Loki.
"Because I thought she had a good head on her shoulders. Clearly being married to Thor has had an adverse effect on the rational part of her brain."
"I heard that!"
A moment later you hear both Heimdall and Loki follow.
~~~~~~~~~~
"This isn't a good idea," Loki advises.
"I see no possibility of any negative consequences with Her Majesty speaking with Jane."
Looking at Heimdall, you ponder his words, "Really? I don't even slap her or intimidate her a little?"
Heimdall smiles at you but that answers your question.
With a firm nod to the guards at her door, they quickly push open the heavy metal door and the groan of its weight tells you that you probably wouldn’t be able to open the door by yourself.
It’s a door built to keep Asgardian strength in.
Jane’s cell is relatively comfortable despite it being just that, a prison. There’s a twin bed with a nice mattress, decent sheets, two pillows, a small table with a chair, non-threatening lighting, and the room’s temperature is just right for the weather outside.
Even though Jane is persona non grata here in your kingdom, you can tell that her past associations with Thor have brought the Asgardians in your household to treat her well.
There’s a pitcher of water and wine on the table. A goblet ready to be filled. A plate sits empty beside a larger tray full of delicious looking fruits and meats.
Not very surprising to you, if you’re honest, she hasn’t touched a bite.
In fact, Jane hasn’t moved from the spot you saw her put in when she was caught and brought down here to the cells. She’s still sitting on the floor in the corner of the room furthest away from the door, her hands clutching her head like she’s fighting off some massive headache.
As you enter, she makes no sign that she hears you. Her dark hair falls forward, covering her face from view.
With Loki and Heimdall both following every step you take, you move to turn the chair at her table to face her and slowly sit down.
The room is silent. So quiet that you can hear your own heart beating in your ears as well as the gurgle of Jane’s stomach. She might not realize how hungry she is.
You sit there for several minutes, waiting to see if she’ll acknowledge you on her own and when you can’t stand it anymore and take a breath to speak, Jane beats you to it.
“I’m sorry,” she whispers, her voice strained and nearly broken.
Finally, she peeks up at you through the curtain of her hair and you see confusion, shame, and agony.
She looks pitiful. And not in a bad way.
You can see in her eyes that she’s as torn up about what she’s been through and you wonder how much of what she did and said was her and how much was Amora.
“I-I couldn’t stop myself,” Jane confesses. “I knew that I was hurting him. Hurting both of you. I knew that I was doing damage that might never be fixed, but I d-didn’t...couldn’t care.”
She fixes the word because if she could have, you think she might have cared. Everything you know about Jane tells you that she’s not a bad person.
“I still love him,” she confesses, stealing your breath because that much at least is the truth.
Amora didn’t influence Jane to love Thor. Jane really does love Thor.
“And I’ll never forgive myself for letting him slip through my fingers,” Jane adds, looking up at you a bit more fully. “But I don’t regret it.”
Her lips are cracked with dehydration, mouth dry, tongue chalky. Her eyes are red with dried tears and her nose sore probably from wiping it as she cried.
“I don’t regret choosing myself over him,” she says and you can see that she means it. “My work is gonna be the legacy I leave behind for the world. If I get married and have kids someday, I can’t say, but I didn’t want to be a queen. I’m a scientist.”
This helps your heart settle. Jane has been a threat to you and Thor for too long and for the first time since you got married, you can feel the threat of her fall away.
“What-” You clear your throat as it rasps when you speak, swallowing hard to push past the nerves. “What do you remember?”
Jane turns back towards the wall but she holds her head up instead of clutching it with her hands, her eyes moving from side to side as she thinks back as far as she can.
“A whisper,” she says. “It’s like-like the ether all over again only the ether was more of a feeling. This was a voice, a presence, in my head. I couldn’t get it to go away. It kept telling me that I was making a mistake. It convinced me that I wanted your life. I don’t,” she insists, sounding almost angry at the voice for making her think these things. “I don’t want your life.”
“When did it start?”
“Almost right after your wedding. It’s why I came here. It’s why I stayed. The longer I was around you and Thor, the louder the voice got. When you sent me away, it got worse. The voice was deafening. I couldn’t hear anything else.
“I was in control of everything I was doing. I was making these choices but the reasoning behind the choices wasn’t mind. You get that, right? You understand what I’m saying?”
She looks almost desperate for you to see that even if she was choosing to come between you and Thor, she wasn’t the one thinking the thoughts behind those choices.
“I get it,” you nod. “I’m not here for your regrets Jane. I need to know whether you picked up anything from Amora while she was in your head when you had my son in your arms upstairs.”
Jane stares at you with her mouth partially open worsening the dryness of her lips. You know that she’s reacting to the hostility in your tone.
Maybe you should be kinder but you literally jumped off your balcony to catch your son and would have died if Loki hadn’t portalled you into the nursery.
So as bad as you feel for her having her mind taken over and her emotions manipulated, you almost lost your son and your own life and you can’t see past that right now. It just happened.
“I um,” she swallows hard and shuts her eyes tight as new tears stream down along her pale cheeks. “Just flashes. Nothing solid.”
“Anything you can give us will be of immense help, Jane.”
She looks at Loki who finally steps forward to help you, probably noticing the fragility of your own control.
“Did something happen?” Jane asks, looking from you to Loki and then Heimdall.
“Amora took Thor,” you say quietly, hating the words. “She bewitched him or something and took him. We don’t know where.”
Jane blinks again, reaching up to wipe her tears before using the edge of the bed beside her to get to her feet.
“There isn't much to go on. Darkness, with a hint of green energy. A cave maybe, but almost purple and blue. I don’t think it’s here on Earth,” she admits.
You look to Loki as panic takes hold in your heart and you sob once, burying your face in your hands at the thought of Thor being taken off of Earth, far away from where you can reach him.
A warm hand closes around your shoulder and you don’t need to look to know it’s Heimdall.
“Anything else, Jane? Anything at all?” Loki presses.
“Um,” Jane shuts her eyes and tries to remember. “Water, I hear water. Lots of rushing water. Trees. So many trees. Tightly grouped together. With lights?”
Jane opens her eyes, shaking her head as if the image in her mind doesn’t make sense.
“It’s just flashes,” she sighs, looking at you with remorse. “I’m sorry.”
You on the other hand look at Loki who is exchanging a long confused look with Heimdall.
“Why would she take him there?”
“She was exiled from Asgard. Odin merely sent her away, where she went he did not care. So long as it was away from our people.”
Heimdall’s words are calm but he stares off into the distance as if seeing something none of you can.
“Is she there?” Loki wonders.
“She’s blocking me,” Heimdall says.
“Then don’t look for her,” you suddenly spout, rising to your feet to turn and look at Heimdall.
Even though you have no idea what place they’re talking about, you’re desperate and grasping at straws.
Heimdall looks at you, Loki too.
“If you can’t see her then look for the space around her.”
“Will it work?” Loki gasps, moving a step closer to you and Heimdall.
Heimdall watches you for a moment longer before turning his eyes far away again.
“If we know the planet, all we have to do is-”
“Look for the void,” Heimdall finishes.
“There’ll be a space with nothing there if she’s hiding. Even with her magic, she can’t obscure everything. Magic leaves traces,” Loki explains but you really didn’t need the explanation.
It feels like Heimdall looks forever. He’s so quiet, his eyes unmoving but seeing something none of you can.
Then, almost as easily as he drifted away, he turns to you, “I found her.”
“Nornheim?” Loki asks but he already knows.
“Nornheim,” Heimdall agrees.
“Okay, so we know where she is. Let’s go,” you move for the door but Loki catches your wrist and stops you.
“I can’t bring you with us, Y/N.”
“Like fuck you can’t. I’m not staying here waiting for you to bring Thor back. I’m going, Loki.”
“It’s dangerous,” Loki says softly, stepping closer to you as he tries to impress on you the severity of the threats you might face. “So is being Thor’s wife. I knew what I agreed to when I married him, Loki. I promised to protect him. I didn’t do that here and someone took him from me. I’m going to get him back.”
You make to pull your wrist from his grip but he tightens his hold, “And the twins?”
This makes you stop. This is cheating!
“What will we all do if something should happen to both you and Thor? What will we tell them?”
“You’ll tell them that their parents loved each other so much that they were willing to travel across the universe to save each other. Loki, for the second time today, I’m reminding you that I’m not asking for your permission.
“Now let me go and tell me what I should pack and how long the trip will take.”
~~~~~~~~~~
Estrid is quick with her hands.
She whips around you tying leather pieces to Asgardian steel, making sure you’re fitted completely in the armor that Thor had made for you.
It had only ever been meant to be worn for ceremony. You were supposed to sit on a horse beside him fully decked out looking ready for war to inspect the guard and the Valkyrie. You weren’t supposed to need it practically.
Still, the thick Asgardian leather pants sit well underneath the cuisse and tasset, an additional leather skirt underneath that provides some cushion from the resilient metal. You have greaves, and gauntlets, a scaled plackart that reminds you of dragon skin. Your pauldrons are smaller than Loki’s and Heimdall’s but they don’t expect you to do any fighting when it comes down to it.
The last piece that Estrid fits you with is a cuirass, solid instead of scaled with elegant carvings to match the rest on your suit.
The whole thing leaves your elbows and knees exposed so that you can move more easily. While it’s heavy, it’s a weight you bear happily because it means that you can go and maybe help save Thor.
Estrid sniffles as she ties the last bit into place then scurries over towards your weapons case to pull out your short swords. The very ones that Thor gave you on your wedding day.
She slips them into their sheathes, one on your back and the other along your hip.
“I am counting on you to help David with the Princess and Prince, Estrid. You need to keep them safe with all of us gone. Hilde and her most elite Valkyrie will be here with you so, no matter how small your worry is, tell them. Okay?”
Estrid sniffles again as she finishes with your belt, “Yes, Your Majesty.”
Her voice cracks a little.
With a sigh you pull her into as soft a hug as you can with all the armor you’re wearing. It’s not an overwhelming amount but you’re not used to wearing it so it feels like a lot.
Estrid hugs you back, clinging almost for a bit before you pull back to look at her face.
“I will get His Majesty back, Estrid,” you promise her.
“‘Tis not His Majesty I worry for, my Queen. You are human. I worry for your safety.”
You give her a smile and pull her down to kiss her forehead briefly.
“I will have Loki, Heimdall, Sif, and the Warriors Three with me. Not to mention Steve Rogers and Bruce Banner,” you remind her.
Bruce and Steve had been the first to volunteer to come with you while Tony, Nat, and Clint were happy to ease your worry by staying in New Asgard while all of you are gone.
“I’m gonna be one of the safest people in the universe, right?”
Estrid nods, unwilling to argue with you but she pulls back and moves to sit on the edge of your bed where Kasi and Tavis are sleeping soundly.
David steps forward, his hands held together as if in prayer, fingertips pressed to his lips.
“I suppose nothing I can say will make you change your mind?”
You shake your head.
“I know,” David nods. “I’ll guard them with my life but do me a favor and come back in one piece? You’re my most famous client. What notoriety will I have left if you die?”
You laugh and David hugs you tight, kissing your temple, "Be careful. Don't do anything reckless. Your little ones are waiting for you," he whispers.
Pulling back with a gentle squeeze of your elbows he goes to stand by the bed with the twins.
You’ve already kissed them and cooed over them so you simply watch them sleep for a few more seconds, wishing that Thor was home with you and not somewhere in the universe, lost to you and your children.
A knock on your door pulls you from your wishful thinking and Steve pokes his head in.
“Heimdall says it’s time,” Steve tells you, throwing the door open a little more now that he sees you’re fully armored.
He's also in full uniform, cowl and shield.
“Let’s go,” you nod and move into the hallway with him.
Outside of the palace, the air blows cold. It stings your cheeks but the rest of you is pleasantly shielded by armor and leather.
“You’ve got this,” Steve says as he walks with you to your black car.
Armod hurries around to open your door and you climb in while Steve goes around to the other side and gets in.
“You don’t look nervous at all,” Steve observes as Armod, under the cover of darkness, drives you towards the bifrost gate.
It’s so late out that only a few stragglers still going in and out of local pubs and all-night restaurants walk the streets.
“Because I'm not. I just want to get Thor back.”
He waits a beat, taking in your words, tone, demeanor, translating it all in his head.
“You love him,” Steve says, almost as if he’s realizing this for the first time.
Looking at him, you find him watching you with curiosity. “So much.”
Steve nods, a small smile stretching his lips before he turns to watch outside the window as New Asgard streaks by.
As the car pulls to a stop by the Gate, you wait for Steve to get out before you reach over and grab hold of Armod’s shoulder.
“Your Majesty?” he asks, confused by your stopping him from getting out to open your door.
“Armod, no one can know that we’ve gone or that His Majesty has been taken off-world, okay? Things need to look as normal as possible outside of the palace despite the craziness inside it. So, don’t tell anyone about this.”
“Of course, Your Majesty!”
“I’m counting on you, Armod,” you whisper as your car door opens. "I'm trusting you."
You release his shoulder as Loki’s hand comes into view and you take it, needing the help to get up with your armor.
Armod drives off leaving you and Loki to walk into the Gate’s circular room.
The bifrost points straight up into the sky, different from the way it used to work, Heimdall has told you.
Standing at its center is Hilde with a large sword, Heimdall next to her talking in hushed tones.
As you pass them, you hear him tell her, “I leave it in your care until I can claim it again.”
“Of course, Heimdall. No one will touch Hofund except me,” she promises.
Loki stops only when he reaches the Warriors Three and Sif at their side. Bruce and Steve stand slightly behind them, both of them looking at the party of fighters going to look for Thor and whispering to each other what you assume are strategies on who will best do what.
“Are we ready?” Loki asks.
Sif turns to him and nods, hand on her sword, “We’re ready.”
“Don’t worry, Your Majesty,” Fandral nods, his face uncharacteristically serious. “We’ll have Thor back where he belongs sooner than you know.”
Hogun and Volstagg grunt in approval.
“Rogers, Banner, it’s time,” Loki says.
Everyone gathers around the central platform where Hilde stands, Hofund in hand as she waits for everyone to settle.
"We'll take care of everything here, Majesty," she promises. "Get our King back."
You give her a nod and she returns it before lifting the sword and plunging it into the complicated gleaming pedestal before her.
The room starts to spin, light bounces all around you and pure white suddenly glows in marvelous technicor and you're pulled up into the skies.
 Not ready for the rush of air, the wind is sucked out of your lungs and your heart begins its panic. It pounds on your chest, thrumming to the rhythm in your ears of the blood pulsing hard to restore the oxygen to your brain.
All around you is rainbow glass or stars? What you had imagined stars to look like as a girl anyway. Not lumps of rock or gas but crystals made of every color.
The light is warm and comforting but the sensation of flight is numbing and overwhelming.
You can feel yourself losing consciousness and try to grasp onto the bit of your brain that's still working.
It's tenuous and your mental fingers slip right on by as you're plunged into darkness.
When you wake you can hear whispered conversation a little bit aways.
"She'll be hungry when she wakes up," Volstagg is saying over the sound of a crackling fire. "Bet you're glad I brought this chicken now."
Fandral sighs, "I suppose your gut is good for something."
He's teasing but you hear the clink of metal--a cup?--and Fandral's responding, "Ow."
"Sif said to keep quiet and let Her Majesty rest," Hogun's accented voice chimes in. "You should cease your quarreling before she comes and yells at you both."
"Pass me the salt Hogun," Volstagg says.
You hear rustling and the clink of more metal, plates this time, as you start to push yourself up slowly.
The warm weight of a fur slides off of you and you shiver at the lost of heat as surprising damp and cool air licks at your sweaty neck.
Your body feels sore. Probably from sleeping in your armor.
"Where’s Loki?"
Your voice draws the three men's attentions and they scurry to their feet and move towards you.
They'd laid you down between two large tree roots that you can now see rise up into the air connecting into what looks like a cave made of tree root and trunks.
It's wild with foliage and grass, the sound of running water on the opposite side of your sleeping spot tells you there's a small stream at least if not a river nearby.
"Here, my Queen," Fandral gasps and offers you his hand.
You take it and he helps you up, holding your elbow until he can see if you're steady.
"Loki?" You ask again, determined not to be distracted.
"He and Sif have gone East in search of any trail Enchantress might have left behind," Volstagg says.
"The green one and the Captain have gone in search to the West," Fandral explains as he leads you towards the small grassy clearing where their campfire is still roaring.
The chicken and the smell of herbs invades your nostrils as you get closer and Hogun hurries to take his seat again before grabbing a metal plate. He loads it up with a nice large chunk and holds it out to you as you take the seat designated for you by the placement of your swords.
Taking the plate you look around at what is the greenest, earthiest planet you've ever seen. It’s a little dark save for the little yellow fireflies that you see floating about the large space and the fire roaring before you.
"Water, my Queen," Volstagg says as he holds out a skin of water.
"Thank you, Volstagg."
He beams at you then nudges Fandral who looks at him with brotherly annoyance and then takes some chicken for himself.
You clear your throat, voice rough from your sleep, "What happened?"
Hogun reaches over and opens the skin then offers you the water which you take and drink a little to soothe your throat.
"We were unprepared for the effects that traveling through the bifrost would bring you. We're pretty sure you just stopped breathing and then fainted," Fandral explains.
Slightly embarrassed you put the water down and eat a small piece of chicken.
It's delicious! Perfectly seasoned.
Volstagg seems to know your train of thought because he winks at you and you give him a small smile.
The happy sensation lasts only a few moments before worry settles back in.
"How long have they been gone?"
"A few hours," Hogun says. "They should be on their way back now."
"Eat some more, Your Majesty," Fandral encourages. "If you're to make a fight for Thor, you'll need to be at full strength. Amora should not be underestimated."
"How am I supposed to fight against her? She’s magic."
"There are more ways to fight than magic and physical strength," Volstagg assures you. "And you have strength in spades, my Queen."
You're not sure you believe them and almost want to argue when you're all interrupted.
"Volstagg speaking sense? Never thought I'd see the day," Loki walks into the circle of firelight and you make to stand up but he holds his hand out to you and hurries to sit next to you. "How are you?"
You sigh feeling more at ease now that Loki's back. Sif wanders in behind him and takes a seat close to but behind Fandral.
"I'm sorry I fainted," your neck heats up but Loki smiles.
"I'd have been more surprised if you'd survived your first flight with no struggle. Eating is wise."
His approval helps put you at ease and you eat some more.
"Any trace?" Fandral asks Sif behind him.
"Nothing conclusive."
The disappointment around the campfire is palpable.
A moment later loud thumping draws your attention to the West darkness and suddenly a large green Hulk lumber in. Behind him Steve follows.
Sif rises, her eyes hopeful and piercing.
"Anything?"
Steve shakes his head, "No traces. Hulk ran out further than I was planning to go but he brought no news."
"Hulk found dead. No Thor."
The disappointment floods through you, hands going limp against your plate.
"He's here. We know he is. No trace from here just means we'll travel to the nearest settlement and start asking questions. Amora's presence is not easily ignored.
"Even if no one has seen her, they'll know she's here. We'll get him back," Loki promises.
You look at him and can see the determination in his eyes and if you're honest, there's no one else you trust more than Loki.

dad- l. laufeyson
pairings: loki laufeyson x doctor!mom!reader, mentions of tony stark, natasha romanoff, steve rogers, oc, and thor odinson warnings: a child, y/n is a mom, dad!loki who is probably a little ooc but i hope that’s okay, y/n is a doctor but there’s no real detail, it’s just alluded to, mentions of an absent father, mentions of adoption about: requested! They’re dating and she has a toddler from a previous relationship that ended badly. Loki treats the baby like she’s his own and brings her to the compound once in a while to show off ‘his’ baby. The little one adores Loki and started calling him dada, making the soft side of him comes out. And also the very protective side. He eventually asks reader if he can officially adopt her to be the father figure. Since reader never put down the fathers name on the birth certificate, they put Loki’s down. a/n: thank you so much for requesting! i hope you liked this!!
tiny fingers splayed your cheeks wake you up, wet lips pressing continuously on your nose as familiar laughter rings in your ear. your nose scrunches, prying your eyes open to meet the mirror image of them in front of you. at the grin that splits daisy’s face, a smile sneaks up on your lips, too, “hey honey,” you say quietly, brushing away a strand of hair that falls in her eyes as your daughter’s warm hands hold your face.
“hi mama,” daisy replies, snuggling into your side, “pancake day,” she informs happily, a chubby finger reaching to trace the slope of your nose.
you tilt your head at her, raising an eyebrow, “really? who says?”
daisy doesn’t get a chance to reply, the crack to your door widening when loki steps through it, balancing a large plate stacked with pancakes and fruits in one hand. “loki!” daisy cheers, sitting up to reach for the food. you sit up, too, cocking your head at your boyfriend as you observe the platter.
“you made food?” you ask, eyes scanning the little cubes of cut-up strawberries and bananas before looking back up at him in pleasant surprise.
loki ducks his chin, “you were asleep. and today is pancake day. i simply could not disappoint daisy,” he explains, letting daisy take a piece of banana to shove in her mouth.
you gently run your fingers through her hair, a soft smile tugging at your lips, “hey, dais, let’s go eat at the table and watch some cartoons, hm?” at the sound of cartoons, she nods quickly, bouncing off of the bed to tug at loki to follow her, the god not making a peep when her grubby hands leave a smear of banana on his wrist. you watch as they head to the kitchen, listening when loki turns on the television and flips it to her favorite show without her needing to tell him. you take a second to remind yourself that the god in your house, sneaking homemade whipped cream--because store-bought whipped cream is not fit for her--to your daughter, is the same god who, not too long ago, physically recoiled at the mere mention of midgardians. you stand when you hear daisy’s voice calling you over when you take too long to follow, peeking around the corner to see loki cutting her chocolate chip pancakes into little squares. “any left for me?” you ask, your body burning hot when loki turns to look at you, a twinkle in his clear sea glass eyes.
“good morning, darling,” he greets, his lips kissing your cheek when you come closer to him, an arm wrapping around your waist. “pancake?” he offers, showing you a plate with two perfectly shaped pancakes, whipped cream piled high just the way you liked it and berries surrounding it in the way you always tried to do but were never able to. you pecked his lips, smiling against him when you heard your daughter protest loudly.
“what are we watching today?” you ask her, fingers taming the mess of bedhead that sits atop her head. she turns to the television after shoving pancake into her mouth, pointing at the image, “clifford,” she says simply. you sit next to her, exhaling, “that’s a good one.” daisy nods, “i want a dog,” she states after a second, “like clifford.”
you glance at loki, “finding a big red dog is going to be a little hard, sweetie--”
“i’m sure there’s one in asgard, if not, there must be one somewhere else,” loki shrugs, squinting at the show, “i’ll find one. worry not.”
you shake your head, chuckling, “maybe a normal-sized dog, daisy.” daisy pouts but nods.
the sounds from the television are the only ones for a few moments until you speak up, “oh, i completely forgot, i have to go meet with some big shot hospital reps for almost the whole day today, do you mind taking care of daisy?” you ask loki, an apologetic look on your face.
“of course not, she can accompany me to the compound today,” loki reasons, not missing the excited look that crosses daisy’s face.
you brighten, “that’s a great idea!” you turn to your daughter, who has smeared red on her cheek and a strawberry in her fingers, you huff a laugh, wiping it away with one of your fingers, “what do you think, dais? wanna go visit the other avengers with loki?”
she nods immediately, hurrying to swallow the fruit in her mouth before turning to loki, “can i wear your cape again?” she asks enthusiastically, patting wildly at your arm, “loki lets me use his cape!”
your eyebrow raises as you look at loki, “does he, now? i thought no one could even touch it?” you tease, appreciating the pale blush that takes over the snow of his cheeks as he shrugs, clearing his throat.
“there are always exceptions to rules,” he states.
-
“i love you,” you say, pressing a kiss into daisy’s hair, she parrots the phrase back to you, leaning further into loki’s arms when you pull away. “i love you,” you continue, kissing loki’s lips, “thank you again,” you whisper, feeling him chuckle against you.
“it is my pleasure,” loki assures before kissing you again. you pull away after a second, smacking your lips on daisy’s forehead as another goodbye.
“i’ll be back later, have fun, okay?” you request before finally walking out the door to head to work. you don’t see daisy’s pout as she lays her head on loki’s shoulder, balling her hand in his shirt. a soft smile tugs at loki’s lips, looking down at her to ask her if she’d like to go to the compound now.
a little while after she nods at his, he finds himself clicking her seatbelt in, making sure she’s safe in her booster seat before he begins to drive. he knows he could easily go there with a flick of his hand, but the travel makes daisy nervous, and, besides, she prefers to ride in the car with him, singing along to the playlist of the songs loki found himself liking in midgard.
daisy squeals when loki pulls into the driveway of the compound, jumping out of the car when he unbuckles her to hurry loki up. she pulls at his pant leg, growing more excited by the minute when she sees the red white and blue of steve’s shield flying behind the compound. “i do not understand why you like that thing so much. so boring,” loki grumbles, grabbing her hand and opening the door.
“ah, there she is!” thor’s voice booms nearly the minute loki and daisy step in, daisy’s grin grows wide, looking back at loki before running to thor. “uncle!” she squeals, oblivious to the way loki freezes when she says the simple word. thor carries her in his arms, holding her up like simba.
“my favorite niece! i brought the hammer for you today!” thor exclaims, sitting her down on one of his arms before holding his other hand out. loki looks to the side, realizing his brother is calling for the hammer with his daughter in his arms, quickly stepping over to him to take her away just as said hammer flies into his open hand. he twirls it, before handing it to daisy in loki’s arms, still keeping a hold on it as she wraps her small fingers around the hammer.
“brother…” loki hisses quietly, refusing to upset the little girl in his arms but wanting nothing more than to knock some common sense into his brother. “i would like to remind you to not do that while daisy is near you.”
daisy barely looks up at her name, too entranced with the intricate carvings in the hammer, “oh, she’ll be fine,” thor shrugs, clapping loki hard on the back, “i am very careful, brother.”
loki purses his lips, “yes, i remember how careful you are.”
“hey! reindeer games and little grey!” tony cheers from around the corner, natasha catching his words from the kitchen and heading for loki. loki can spot the captain in the hallway. “haven’t seen you in a while, kid,” tony tells daisy, ruffling up her hair, “thought you ditched us.”
loki rolls his eyes, concentrating on daisy, who reaches for the electric blue in tony’s chest, murmuring “pretty.”
“isn’t it?” tony brags, tapping a nail on his arc reactor, “built it myself. you want one?” daisy agrees enthusiastically, but loki makes sure to send tony a glare that tells him if he even dares. loki will finish the job in new york.
“how’s the doc?” natasha asks, coming cilently from the kitchen with a bag in her hand.
“y/n is good, she’s at the hospital right now.”
“hey, dais,” natasha starts, her green eyes sparkling, “you remember the toys you wanted from the mall last time we went?” daisy nods. natasha holds up the bag in her arms, “you wanna go see what’s in the bag?”
daisy’s eyes go wide, and she turns to loki, “can i dad? please?”
loki chokes down the uncharactersitic lump in his throat so he can nod, putting daisy down so she can grab natasha’s hand. when they’re out of hearing range, steve raises an eyebrow at loki, “‘dad’? that’s a big one.”
“yes,” loki clear his throat, “she had never called me that before.”
the other men exchange looks, before thor claps loki on the back with a beamng grin, “congratulations.” loki has never felt luckier.
-
it’s a few hours later, when you’re back at home, exhausted and sprawled on the couch next to loki with daisy sleeping on your and loki’s lap. “how was your day?” you ask quietly so you don’t disturb daisy.
“as excellent as a day with the avengers can be. i took daisy to the compound, everyone adored her, natasha spoiled her…” loki trails off, the clear cut reminder of the events of that day bright and new in his mind, “she called me dad,” loki finishes, allowing himself to look into the deep nooks and crannie of his brain that urges him to tell you what he’s been thinking about for far too long. there’s a second of silence.
“she’s never said to you that before,” you finally say softly. loki shakes his head, “she’s slipped up before, though. sometimes she calls you papa when she talks about you.” loki turns to you, searching your features for a lie he won’t find. “you are her father, loki. you’re way more of a father than her biological dad ever has been. you’re her dad, she loves you.” there’s more silence, the question you’re implying hanging in the air, waiting to be grasped and asked.
“would you adopt her?--” you grasp.
“i would like to adopt daisy--” he grasps.
you stare at each other before quiet laughter bubbles from your mouth, a nod tilting your chin, “you know, i never put her biological father’s name in her birth certificate.”
“we could go tomorrow,” loki offers, admiring the beaming smile that brightens your tired face.
“we should,” you agree, staring at loki for a few more moments before connecting your lips, looking down at daisy and brushing away some strands from her face when you pull away. you nod, meeting loki’s eyes again, “tomorrow.”
