Don’t know if Toshi is there because she’s somehow involved with Chris or because she’s Severus friend 🤔🤔

wait, i forgot if you've mentioned this before, but how could chris be an original while loki's not? was he adopted or something?
Lucius is Chris’ father, they were both turned by the witches at the same time making them originals.
Lokis father is Lucius too, but his mother was a human. 50/50 chance of human or vampire as a baby. Loki was born human, but was turned by Chris.

The Redbridge Hunts, Chapter 50
Tumblr media
Loki and the others had been searching for what felt like hours in the woods, though in reality it had only been half an hour. Loki was going out of his mind with worry, he felt so sick and his heart was shredded at the thought of something bad happening to her.
He wanted to try and help some of the humans that he came across in the woods, they were absolutely petrified. The fear in their eyes broke his heart, but he couldn’t bring himself to focus on anything else but Claire. The thought of her being as scared as them completely broke him.
He needed to find her. He just hoped it wasn’t too late.
After running around near the river, checking multiple hiding spots, he was roaring in anger and frustration when a dark hooded figure leapt down from a tree nearby.
‘Who are you?’ He hissed.
‘Go to the shack.’ She said calmly.
‘What?’ Loki frowned. ‘Wait… You’re Toshi, aren’t you? What are you doing here?’
‘She’s in the shack.’ She said again, before jumping back up into the trees. Loki tried to focus his eyes on her to follow, but she was too quick as she jumped through the trees skilfully.
‘The shack…’ Loki began running towards said shack that was situated at the other side of the woods from the river.
‘YOU DIDN’T THINK TO CHECK THE OLD SHACK?’ Loki roared at the others as he ran by them. They all quickly joined and ran alongside him.
‘What shack?’ Spencer asked.
‘It’s always been boarded up for years, no one goes in there!’ David argued back in defence.
‘Why wouldn’t you check there anyway?’ Matt yelled.
‘I did fly over, but there was no light or movement!’ Jessica shouted.
‘Yes, because Chris would have Christmas lights all lit up and flashing if he has Claire trapped in there.’ Severus drawled and glared at her.
‘Shut up.’ Jessica hissed at him.
‘What shack?’ Spencer asked again, though no one gave him an explanation, he would soon find out once they got there.
They group quickly reached the shack, Loki didn’t waste time as he kicked the door in. As he dived inside, he stopped dead in his tracks. He wasn’t sure what he was expecting to find when he got in there, but he never in a million years expected to find Chris sitting on the floor, distraught and upset, with his girlfriend comforting him.
‘Claire? Are you ok? What did he do to you? Did he hurt you?’ Loki asked as he rushed over and scooped her up, pulling her away from Chris.
‘Loki… I’m fine, honestly. He didn’t hurt me.’ She said quickly as he pulled her into a big hug.
Loki squeezed her tight and buried his face into her hair. ‘I thought I’d lost you.’ He choked out.
‘I’m ok…’ She whispered back.
Eventually Loki let go of her, only to cup her face in his hands and kiss her deeply. Claire could feel the relief in his kiss, she had a feeling he was going to be more protective than ever after this.
Loki was angry, even though Chris was clearly upset for some reason and Claire was fine, he wanted nothing more than to kick Chris’ head in and Claire could tell that too by the look on Loki’s face when he glared at his brother. She was sure the vein on his forehead was about to burst, not to mention the way his jaw was clenched hard.
‘I’m going to fucking kill you for this.’ Loki snarled and was about to move on Chris, but Claire jumped between them when Chris stood up to square up to his brother.
‘STOP! BOTH OF YOU! You guys need to sort this fucking shit out once and for all.’ She said to the brothers angrily.
Then she looked over at Jessica, Spencer, Severus, Matt and David. ‘You guys, kindly go away. I appreciate you’ve been looking for me, but these two brothers have things to sort out, privately.’ She said firmly.
The vampires’ eyes widened, they didn’t hang around or argue with Claire, she had a no-nonsense tone so they scurried off, shutting the door behind them.
‘Why the hell did you steal Claire? What were you going to do to her?’
‘We were just going to have a bite to eat.’ Chris said smugly with a smirk.
‘You ass’
‘Loki…’ Claire butted in quickly before things escalated even more. ‘Chris told me what happened that day he turned you. He told me why he did it.’ Claire said calmly.
‘Cause he’s an asshole, that’s why.’ Loki snarled.
‘No. Loki.’ Claire pinched the bridge of her nose.
She heard Chris huff behind her before he then spoke up, calmly.
‘I did it because having you alive and hating me, is better than not having you alive at all.’

Oh, oh no… that makes Loki out to be more of a dick than Chris?? Wow. So cool to know what drove them apart though. I can’t wait for the next chapter.
Well, not really lol. They’ve both been a bit asshole-ish really towards one another. Loki was just scared back then, his view of his big brother drastically changed.

The Redbridge Hunts, Chapter 49
Tumblr media
‘You’ve brought the hunt forward?’ Claire asked, eyes wide.
‘Not forward, no. Just decided to hold one on Halloween. I don’t know why I never thought about it before, it’s the perfect night for it.’ He grinned and leaned in towards her, sniffing at her neck. ‘Would be a shame, really. To chuck you out there for any vampire to get hold of you… Though there’s no fun in just having you here.’ He growled low.
‘Loki will kill you.’ Claire blurted out.
Chris chuckled. ‘He can try.’
‘Why would you want to hurt him so much? You know if you put me out there, it will break his heart. What happened with you two? Why can’t you just… get along. He doesn’t want to take your job, I know that this is what’s causing you to do this. You’re angry and upset, I understand that. So will he. He doesn’t want it.’
‘I am NOT upset.’ Chris snapped and stepped backwards, still glaring at her and his jaw was clenched. He slowly started pacing back and fore on front of her. ‘Not that I’d expect you to understand, or him. Such an ungrateful bastard he is.’ He hissed.
Claire frowned. ‘Try me. I understand more than you think. I understand that you love your job, that deep down you care about your students and even the teachers. I know how broken you were when we lost Jeremy. The way you fought for your school, are you really going to just throw it all away by sending me out there into the hunt? You know that Loki really would make sure that your job was no more if you do this. Is hurting him in this way really worth losing your job?’
‘I’ve lost it anyway.’ He snapped.
‘No, you haven’t. You’re not listening to anyone, you can appeal it. Loki will too, and so will I!’
‘Why would you both do that, hmm? You don’t care about me, no one does. No one ever has and no one ever will.’ Chris growled.
‘Of course, we care. You think so little of your brother, but he was mouthing along to your band at the festival in the summer. I don’t know what happened between you too that caused such a rift, aside from turning him against his wishes, but deep down I know he still loves you.’ Claire said softly.
For a second, she thought she saw remorse and a slight glimmer of regret in Chris’ eyes, but his face hardened again and the scowl was back.
‘Enough. He doesn’t love me. He hasn’t since the day I turned him.’ Chris started circling around Claire again, trying to intimidate her more.
‘Why did you turn him? I mean, that was a pretty asshole thing to do. Turning your brother against his will.’
She heard Chris’ footsteps stop behind her abruptly. There was silence for a second, then he started laughing rather manically. She tried to look round, confused. Though Chris suddenly grabbed her neck and forced her head right back to look at him as he leered down at her from above.
‘He hasn’t told you the truth about what happened that day, has he?’ He snarled.
Claire’s fear spiked a bit at his action, though she tried to shake her head, as best she could in his grip. He laughed again and let go of her, much to her relief. He stalked around to her front again, but perched against the table.
Claire noticed that his fangs had finally retracted, which gave her a tiny bit of hope.
‘Of course he hasn’t. He needs to keep up appearances of me being the bad guy.’
‘What does that mean?’ Claire asked.
Chris narrowed his eyes at her, just stared at her, deep in thought for a moment. ‘Do you really want to know the truth?’
‘Of course.’ Claire nodded quickly. ‘Though, please could you untie me first? My nose is itchy as fuck. And we both know that I have no chance of getting out of here without you catching me.’ She pleaded.
Chris raised an eyebrow at her, in slight amusement, but made no motion to move.
‘Please, Chris. Either untie me or scratch my nose yourself. I can’t concentrate properly with it.’ She grumbled at him.
Chris let out an irritated sigh as he stood up and strolled over behind her, he untied her and she straight away scratched her nose while groaning. ‘Ah thank god… Ok, please tell me what happened that day.’
Chris went back to his place by the table and folded his arms over his chest.
‘Things were tense between Loki and I, they had been since Loki found out about me and Lucius being vampires. Though he struggled with the fact that I refused to go down the blood bank route, like Lucius. So Lucius thought taking us out to lunch together might help us bond again…’
Lucius had taken Loki and Chris out to lunch one afternoon, to their favourite restaurant. He tried to get the brothers to talk, like they used to. Though it was a tense lunch. After they’d eaten, Lucius wanted dessert. Though the brothers didn’t want any.
‘I need to go. Thanks for lunch.’ Chris said gruffly to Lucius as he stood up.
Loki kept quiet, he was still torn over his big brother and what to think of him after learning the truth. He had always looked up to him, he loved him to pieces. He still did, he just wasn’t sure if he could handle the thought of him feeding from people…
Loki noticed when Chris stepped outside, he seemed to sniff the air and instead of heading towards his home, he made his way down the street in the opposite direction.
‘I’ll be back in a minute, dad. Just going to the toilet.’ Loki said quickly to Lucius, who nodded and stayed put, while reading the dessert menu.
Loki went outside and followed Chris down the street a bit. Chris then turned abruptly down an alley, Loki followed him but kept his distance so Chris wouldn’t see him. As Loki turned down the alley, he noticed Chris went up to a man that was out the back of a shop having a smoking break.
Chris never said anything to the man, he just lunged straight at him, pinned him against the wall and sank his fangs into his neck.
Loki stared in utter horror as he saw blood drip down between Chris and the man. He couldn’t believe his big brother was willingly feeding from an innocent man. Worse still, he drank so much from the man that he collapsed at Chris’ feet when Chris was finished with him.
Chris licked his lips and took a step backwards, but that’s when he spotted Loki in his peripheral vision. He whipped his head round and his eyes widened, his fangs retracted straight away and his face softened.
‘Loki!'
Loki’s eyes filled with tears and he shook his head back and fore quickly as he started taking steps backwards.
‘Loki… This isn’t what it looks like… Let me explain, brother.’ Chris said in a panic as he started moving towards him.
‘No… no, no, no.’ Loki cried out and turned around to run away from him.
Chris wiped the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand, then ran after Loki. He continued to call out for him.
Loki ran straight out from the alley and onto the road, he momentarily stopped and turned to face Chris who ran after him.
‘Brother… Please, let’s talk!’ Chris shouted.
Chris had never seen Loki look so scared and pained before, the tears rolled down his cheeks. He turned and went to run again, but suddenly a blue car slammed into him. Chris’ eyes widened and it felt like time stopped as he saw his little brother being smashed along the road.
The woman driving hadn’t been paying attention, she was on her phone. Even though Loki shouldn’t have been on the road in the first place, not looking at the traffic. She froze in utter horror when she realised she’d hit someone.
‘LOKI!’ Chris bolted over to Loki, he fell to his knees next to him and lifted his upper body onto his lap, cradling his head. There was blood everywhere, Loki’s left leg was clearly broken as it was twisted the wrong way round, and the blood loss was mainly from Loki’s head.
‘No, no… Loki. Lil’ bro. Stay with me. Don’t you dare leave me.’ Chris cried, his vision turned blurry from his tears as he watched his brother dying in his arms, he could sense his heartbeat slowing down rapidly. The sounds from everyone else around, people screaming and shouting for help, someone calling for an ambulance, Chris heard none of it, it was just a blur.
‘Loki…’ Chris sobbed. He gritted his teeth, he couldn’t let this happen. He knew that Loki was against turning into a vampire, he’d made it very clear to both Lucius and Chris, but he couldn’t lose his little brother. He just couldn’t.
‘I’m sorry… Please forgive me, Loki. I have to.’ He whispered and when he sensed his heartbeat become really slow, his fangs emerged and he quickly pierced into Loki’s neck. He ejected some venom into Loki’s blood stream, then Chris tore into his own wrist to make himself bleed.
Chris parted Loki’s lips as he held his wrist up, so his blood dripped into Loki’s mouth. Chris made sure he got enough before he stopped.
‘Please… please.’ Chris whispered as he rocked Loki back and fore. Though he sensed Loki’s heart stop completely.
Chris felt his own heart break into a million pieces, the pain was like nothing else he’d ever felt. He screamed out in anger and anguish, but then, all of a sudden, he heard a low thump… That then began to grow faster and faster.
‘Loki!’ Chris gasped out in hope.
Loki’s eyes flew open, they were a deep red as he inhaled loudly, taking in a big deep breath, his new fangs were glistening white in the sun.
‘It took him a few minutes to come to… to realise what had happened. He pushed me away, screamed at me that I shouldn’t have done it. That I turned him against his will. Lucius came along after that, grabbed hold of Loki to help him. Loki kept screaming at me though, that he would never forgive me for this. That he would rather have died, that he wanted me to die…’
Chris turned his head away from Claire, she saw his eyes were glistening. She could tell by his voice while telling her the story that he still hurt to this day. She even had her own tears that she had to wipe away.
‘Chris… I had no idea. I’m sorry.’ She whispered.
‘Of course you didn’t. Loki needs to keep up the façade that everything is my fault. I’m the bad guy.’ Chris said as his voice hardened again and he blinked hard before looking back at her. Though the anger that had been there earlier wasn’t on his face anymore, Claire didn’t feel quite as threatened now.
‘He didn’t let go of his anger at you for turning him, even though it saved his life.’ Claire said as she looked down for a moment.
‘No. Never has.’ Chris said in a clipped tone.
‘That’s why you went on that rampage, fucking those vampires. It all fits in the timeline.’
Chris nodded in response.
‘Geez, I thought things were complicated with my sister.’ Claire pinched the bridge of her nose and tried to really take in what Chris had just told her.
‘Are you angry at your perfect boyfriend now, for not telling you the truth?’ Chris sneered.
‘I suspect Loki told himself so many times that you turned him against his will, that he really didn't care it was that or his life… Like he’s forgotten.’ Claire said with a sigh.
Chris said nothing.
‘What happened to the woman driving that hit him?’ She asked, though instantly regretted it by the look on Chris’ face.
‘The person responsible for almost killing my little brother... What do you think happened to her?’
‘Shouldn’t have asked.’ Claire sighed.
‘Loki was the only one who loved me, he was the only one that cared. Until that day, when I decided to save his life in the only way possible. I figured there was no point in even trying to be good after that. What was the point? It got me nowhere in the first place.’ Chris stood and started pacing again. Though Claire could tell this time wasn’t with anger as such, he was just all over the place with his emotions.
‘Now, he might be getting my job. The last and only thing that makes me me. Something I’m good at, where I’m respected and needed. I don’t have a soulmate like he does. He has everything. And me? I have nothing. And I never will, all because I really live out what we are, monsters. I only do what my instincts tell me to do.’
His voice broke a little at the end, though he tried to keep it together.
‘That’s not true.’ Claire stood and went towards him.
‘IT IS TRUE!’ He roared at her angrily, making her halt in place. ‘Not for lack of trying, I’ve been all around the world looking for my soulmate, for years. Before you were even born.’ He sneered at her.
Claire wiped away a tear that rolled down her cheek. She swallowed the lump in her throat and took another brave step forwards. She reached out very slowly, as if trying to pet a feral cat.
When her hand eventually landed on his arm, he broke and a few tears flowed freely down his face.
‘There’s no one for me.’

Thank you! You have no idea how excited I am about the next chapter I’ll be posting tomorrow! Hehe 😈🫣
The Redbridge Hunts, Chapter 48
Tumblr media
Loki was going out of his mind with worry as he flew around Chris’ home with Matt, looking for any sign of him or Claire. Jessica, Spencer and David were at the hunt, looking for her there.
‘I don’t think they’re here, Loki. I can’t smell her at all, it doesn’t seem like Chris has been here lately, either.’ Matt said when they landed by Chris’ front door.
Loki went up to the house and looked through the windows, but to no luck.
He looked up when he heard wings fluttering towards them, it was Jessica. She landed and turned into her vampire form as Loki rushed down the steps to meet her.
‘Anything?’ He asked desperately.
She shook her head. ‘No sign of her there, I’m sorry… The guys are still there looking, it’s such a vast area. There’s a lot of victims though, many don’t look like they particularly want to be there.’
Loki ran a hand down his face as he paced back and fore, he was terrified. He had no idea if Claire would even still be alive. What if Chris had just slaughtered her straight away? Or was he doing this deliberately to lure Loki to him?
‘Loki!’ Jessica called, getting his attention. She ended up grabbing his face to get him to focus.
‘Call Severus and your dad, we need all the help we can get. Hannibal is no use, he’s joined in the hunt and is having the time of his life. I did tell him to look out for Claire though.’ Jessica said firmly.
‘Right… Yes.’ Loki nodded and grabbed his phone out of his pocket.
‘I’m away back to the party to look around there. Matt, keep with Loki, yeah?’ Jessica looked at Matt and he nodded in agreement.
Loki called his dad first, who wasn’t able to answer as was busy doing surgery. Though he asked the nurse to pass on a message when he could, just saying that Chris was back and Claire was missing, that the tradition has been brought forward. Lucius would know what that meant.
Then Loki called Severus, but he didn’t answer. ‘Fuck!’ Loki screamed angrily as he kicked at a plant pot and sent it flying.
‘No need to take your temper out on an innocent plant.’ Came a drawl voice from behind Loki and Matt, making them both jump.
‘Fuck sake! Severus! Stop sneaking up on people!’ Matt snarled, putting his hand over his heart.
‘I heard what happened. Thought you could use some help searching. I’ve got a friend out looking, too.’ Severus said as he glanced from Matt to Loki.
Loki was just glad to have as many eyes out looking as possible.
‘Let’s go check the hunting grounds too.’ Loki said.
The three vampires began running down the garden, taking a few strides before they turned into bats and flew up high, heading for the woods.
-
Claire’s eyes fluttered open, her head felt a little heavy, as if there was a fog in her mind. Though it slowly did begin to clear, allowing her to focus and take in her surroundings.
She was inside a small shack, there wasn’t much to it aside from a fireplace, table and some chairs dotted around. Though what she did notice and was most alarmed at, was her hands were tied behind her to a chair. She couldn’t move.
Her heart started beating fast in fear and her mind began racing, trying to think back, what happened? She couldn’t remember though, all she could recall was being at the party. She went to the bathroom, came out and went to go back into the hall. Though she suddenly remembered seeing someone approach her, though they had been wearing a mask at first, till they got close to her and then lifted the mask off… but she couldn’t remember who’s face it was, everything was blank from there.
There was a loud banging noise from outside, it sounded like someone landed on the roof. It made Claire jump out of her skin. She looked up, then began to hear footsteps above her. Her heart started racing faster and faster as the footsteps went to the side, then she heard a whoosh as whoever it was jumped down from the roof and landed outside the door.
She heard a key being slotted in, then it clicked open. She wasn’t sure what to expect, though she wasn’t sure whether to be relieved or terrified when she saw Chris walk in.
What worried her the most was seeing his fangs were out and he had blood dripping from his mouth. His jeans were slightly torn and his red shirt had darker stains from blood.
‘Chris… what… what’s going on? Where am I? Where’s Loki?’ Claire blurted out, trying to sound as confident as possible, though Chris knew she was riddled with anxiety, he could tell by her voice.
He wiped his mouth with the back of his gloved hand and stalked closer towards her, leering at her.
‘Your precious Loki won’t be able to save you this time.’
Claire suddenly clicked on how she got there. ‘You… you hypnotised me, didn’t you? To get me here? What’s going on?’
Chris could hear her heartbeat quickening.
‘There’s certainly no denying, you are a smart one.’ Chris hummed and began walking around her in circles, making her even more uneasy.
‘Chris… I know that you’re angry and upset about what the school board has done, but you can appeal. Loki doesn’t even want the job, he’s said himself that you are good at it.’
‘You know nothing.’ Chris hissed at her from behind, making her swallow hard as she tried to keep her composure. She knew he could be dangerous, but he had clearly just been feeding, so would likely be feeling the high off that.
‘Then… tell me. Why have you taken me here?’ She asked, trying not to let her fear show in her voice, even though she knew that he would know she was scared already.
‘You have no clue where we are, do you?’ Chris asked as he walked back around on front of her, he put his hands on the arms of the chair and leaned closer to her, so his face was right on front of hers.
She shook her head in response.
Chris chuckled darkly. ‘This shack has been here for many years… In the woods. The hunting woods, to be precise.’ He grinned at the look on her face, the realisation that washed over her.
He ran a finger down her cheek and then slowly down her neck over her pulse point, he could sense her blood rushing through her veins.
‘That’s right, little mouse… You’re going to be my main attraction in this special Halloween Hunt.’

Kind of a silly question but is Bat an actual plain normal cat? I’ve been wondering this for a while.
As far as Loki knows, she's a normal kitty. Very smart and in tune though.

The Redbridge Hunts, Chapter 47
Tumblr media
It was Saturday evening and Claire was ready for the Halloween party, she was dressed up as a vampire. She had picked up a corset type of dress that was also like a large cape all in one, it was mainly black with red through it. She had fake fangs in and had a few drops of blood on her chin.
She went into the living room to wait for Loki. When Bat spotted Claire, she zoomed over towards her, stopped on front of her in a playful bow stance and then did a little leap before racing around the living room, leaping onto the sofa and down the back. Then she ran back round over to Claire and skidded to a stop at her feet with a meow.
‘Are you alright, Bat?’ Claire laughed and crouched down to scoop the cat up.
Bat chirped and began purring loudly as Claire cuddled her. ‘You’re such a funny cat.’
Claire heard Loki walk into the room behind her. She turned around and let out a laugh. He was dressed as the grim reaper, so was wearing a large black cloak that shielded him completely. He had a skull mask on and of course he had a scythe in hand.
‘You look brilliant!’ Claire grinned at him.
Loki pulled the hood of the cloak down and flipped the mask up, his eyes were a bit darker as he eyed Claire up and down. ‘Wow, you are one damn sexy vampire.’ He purred.
The costume Claire had on did push her breasts up a bit and showed the figure of her waist nicely.
‘Glad you think so.’ Claire giggled. ‘It’s my turn tonight to be the one biting.’ She teased.
‘You can bite me any day.’ Loki growled and slid his arm around her to tug her in close to him.
Bat let out an annoyed meow at being squashed between them, since she was still in Claire’s arms. Loki laughed as Bat jumped down from Claire’s hold, letting Loki pull Claire in flush against him. He dipped his head down and kissed Claire deeply, moaning into her mouth.
‘Maybe we should just stay in and have our own Halloween party.’ He whispered over her lips.
‘And miss out on seeing David and Matt dressed as Ken and Barbie? Sorry, vampy. No amount of orgasms would make me want to miss that.’
During lunch the other day, David was looking for ideas for what to dress as for the party. Hannibal had said jokingly about doing a couple’s costume with Matt, since he was struggling for an idea too. Then Jessica dared them to go as Barbie and Ken. David wasn’t one to turn down a dare, so after some convincing, he managed to get Matt to agree. On the condition that Matt could be Ken, at least.
‘That’s very true.’ Loki laughed.
After feeding Bat, Claire and Loki headed to the school for the party. Claire was in awe, Jessica, Spencer and Hannibal did a brilliant job of decorating the hall for it. It was covered in Halloween decorations, there was a large table filled with various drinks and some snacks.
There was already a good amount of people there, plus they’d organised for a DJ to handle the music. Of course, playing as much spooky songs as possible.
Jessica and Spencer were already there, so Claire and Loki joined them after pouring themselves a drink.
‘Love your outfits!’ Loki chuckled. They were dressed as Gomez and Morticia Addams.
‘Thanks! You guys look great too.’ Jessica grinned widely.
‘It’s nice being the vampire for a change.’ Claire said teasingly.
The party started to get busier as more people arrived, because of everyone wearing masks it was obviously not easy to tell who everyone was. Though the vampires could tell, mostly by scent.
‘Do you think Chris will show up?’ Jessica asked Claire while they were dancing around.
‘I don’t know. If he does, might not be a bad thing since there’s so many people here. Though at the same time, I want Loki to enjoy himself tonight. So if he stays away, it might be for the better.’ Claire shrugged.
‘Makes sense.’ Jessica nodded.
Not far into the night, everyone began whistling, cheering and clapping as heads turned to see who had just entered. Claire almost doubled over with laughter when she saw David and Matt walk in.
David was kitted out like Barbie, wearing a pink dress with pink heels and he had a long blonde wig on. The bright pink lipstick was the icing on the cake. Matt wore a pink suit and also had a blonde wig, though short, he had some make-up on too, to try and make his cheekbones look sharp.
‘Nice legs, Barbie. Though could do with a shave.’ Loki teased David.
David just pulled a pose in response with his leg sticking out to the side.
‘I still don’t know how I got dragged into this.’ Matt sighed.
‘You’re looking great, Ken.’ Claire grinned at him.
‘I need a drink.’ He said in response.
‘Get me one too please, babes.’ David called to him in a girly tone. Matt looked over his shoulder and pinched the bridge of his nose when David made a kissy face at him.
‘Tonight is going to be a hoot.’ Claire said to Loki with a laugh.
She couldn’t tell what Loki’s face was like because of the mask and hood, but she knew he would be grinning.
Later into the night, Loki noticed some of the students that were there were whispering in groups and looking at their phones, but he didn’t take too much notice of it. There was also a point where people seemed to disappear, as the party wasn’t near as busy as it had been at the start.
Though he soon overheard one of the students speaking with another by the snack table.
‘Yeah, Chris told me not long ago.’ The student said.
Loki turned to said student. ‘You’ve seen Chris lately?’ He asked after flipping his mask up, so the student could see who it was.
‘Yeah, he was just outside about half an hour ago. He didn’t hang around for long though, went to get’ He wasn’t able to finish his story as Loki rushed off.
Loki was concerned, so went to look for Claire. He hadn’t seen her in a little while, but needed her to know that Chris was about and to be on alert.
‘David, Matt. Have any of you seen Claire?’ He asked them.
‘No, not since she was dancing with Jessica earlier.’ Matt responded.
‘Where’s Jessica?’ Loki asked.
‘Coming this way.’ David commented and nodded his head behind Loki.
Loki spun around and could tell by the look on her face that something was wrong. ‘Where’s Claire?’
Jessica frowned. ‘I don’t know. I thought she was with you.’
Loki was about to storm away to continue looking, but Jessica called to him. ‘Loki… wait.’ Though he kept walking until she continued. ‘There’s a hunt on tonight. Chris is back.’
Loki stopped dead, he felt his stomach sink as he turned around to face her. ‘What? A hunt?’
Jessica nodded. ‘The event is all over social media. It’s happening right now. The students are talking about it, a bunch of them have gone along. That’s why it’s gotten quieter here.’
Loki’s face turned pale white.
'What's wrong?' Jessica frowned.
‘Claire's missing.'

The Redbridge Hunts, Chapter 46
Tumblr media
Claire was quite concerned with how worried and on edge Loki seemed to be. It made her on edge, too.
When they got home, Matt and David came round about an hour later.
‘You really think Chris will try something?’ Matt asked Loki as the three vampires sat at the table in the kitchen with a beer, while Claire cooked dinner with a glass of wine.
Bat was on the table too, like she was listening intently to the conversation, though she did keep an eye on Claire too incase there was any food on offer.
Loki had said they’d just order takeaway, but Claire offered to cook. She was planning to make stew, knowing how much Loki loves it. Though the thought of having to fight with three vampires for the toilet wouldn’t be ideal, as she knew Loki would have a tantrum if she didn’t add garlic. So she just opted for something else entirely and was cooking up lasagne.
‘Definitely. I’ve never seen him so angry before, if dad hadn’t been there, he would’ve killed me. Without a doubt.’ Loki said with certainty.
Matt and David’s eyebrows shot upwards. ‘Do you really think having us two as backup will help if he does come knocking?’ David asked as he took a big swig of his beer.
‘One of you can try and keep him from killing me while the other goes to get my dad.’ Loki said as he also took a big mouthful of beer.
‘I’ll get your dad!’ Both Matt and David said at the same time.
Claire wanted to laugh, but the situation was quite worrying she couldn’t really see the humour in it. Her stomach was in knots, even though she knew having Matt and David here was a bit of extra security.
When dinner was ready, they all sat around the table to eat. They were a bit calmer and able to enjoy their food as they chatted away about other things. Bat had her own little plate of some mince that Claire had left to the side for her without any onions or sauce in it.
‘You spoil that cat.’ Matt laughed as he reached over to stroke said cat.
‘At least now I can blame it all on Claire.’ Loki teased with a smirk.
‘Pssssht. She was already spoiled rotten before I even knew you, don’t deny it!’ Claire argued back as she pointed her fork at him, making him chuckle.
‘Exactly. Remember that time it was Severus’ birthday, we all got him a cake and you snuck a piece home, just for Bat?’ David reminded him.
Loki looked a little sheepish as he shrugged. ‘Well… Bat should get to enjoy the celebrations that we do, too.’
‘That’s why she was so desperate to get at my birthday cake, she has a sweet tooth.’ Claire laughed.
‘She does.’ Loki sighed. ‘She’s rather partial to a little bit of baileys too on an evening.’
Claire giggled, while David and Matt shook their heads in disbelief. Bat let out a small chirp from the side of the table.
After dinner, Loki did the dishes while the others went through to the living room to relax for a while before going to bed.
‘Has Loki ever been this worried about Chris trying to hurt him before?’ Claire asked quietly, though she wouldn’t be surprised if Loki could still hear her from the kitchen.
‘No, not that I can think of.’ David shook his head.
‘Chris loves his job, he does it take it seriously. He does care for the students and his teachers, this will be a big blow to him for sure.’ Matt said.
‘I don’t get why they want to change things up. I mean, Loki would be a great head teacher if he does decide to take it.’ Claire said softly.
‘He really would.’ Matt agreed.
‘Do you think he will take the job, if Chris can’t get them to change their minds?’ David asked Claire.
‘I’m not sure, he hasn’t really said much about it. I think he’s too worried about what Chris might do right now.’ Claire sighed.
‘Well, we will do our best to help if trouble does come knocking.’ David said firmly.
-
For the following few days, there was no sign of Chris. It was like he’d gone off the radar completely. Loki had relaxed a little bit, though was still on edge. Matt and David had said they’d be happy to stay more nights, but Loki didn’t want to burden them anymore. They said they’d be on the end of the phone, if anything did happen to call them and just hang up after one ring, they’d be straight there.
‘I don’t know whether to be more worried or not that Chris has just gone completely AWOL.’ Loki said to Claire on Thursday morning while they prepped for the day ahead.
‘It is strange. Though maybe for the best, maybe he’s clearing his head and will come back calmer. Hopefully…’
‘I certainly hope so.’ Loki said as Claire walked over to him and wrapped her arms around him, he smiled and kissed her forehead. ‘Thank you for putting up with me this week. I know I’ve been antsy and probably not easy to be around.’
‘So… what’s been the change?’ Claire teased.
Loki growled at her and tickled her sides, making her giggle.
‘You’ve been fine, love. I know it’s worrying, you don’t need to apologise.’ Claire assured him and pressed her head in against his chest.
Loki ran his fingers through her hair, she always soothed him. He would be lost without her, that was for sure.
‘Hopefully he comes back before Saturday night’s party, I don’t know if I’ll be able to fully enjoy the Halloween night if I’m constantly worrying and looking around for him.’ Loki sighed.
‘I doubt he’d try anything at the party, besides if he does, there’s plenty of vampires around to protect you. It will probably be safer than being at home!’ Claire said as she looked up at him, resting her chin on his chest.
Loki smiled and nodded. ‘That’s very true.’ He hummed.
‘It’ll be fine.’ Claire said confidently as she reluctantly pulled away from him to place some textbooks on everyone’s table. ‘He’s bound to have calmed down by now, it’s been a few days. I think if he was going to do something dangerous, he would’ve done it already.’
Loki smiled across the room at her and nodded. ‘You’re right, darling.’
-
In a small underground nightclub, in a city across the country, around forty or so bodies lay strewn in various predicaments around the place.
The flashing lights still lit up the room sporadically in a multitude of colours. Music continued to blare out from the DJ system, even though the DJ lay lifeless across the mixing table, blood dripping from his neck with a huge chunk of flesh torn out.
The security guard’s bodies could be found just inside the doorway, in a puddle of their own blood. The few bartenders that had been working that night lay dead behind the bar, smashed glasses beside them.
One man who was left, the last one alive, scrambled backwards to get away from the monster that had arrived just mere minutes ago, causing the carnage inside, he’d watched his girlfriend get torn to pieces right on front of him. Trying to save her had been pointless, he was simply tossed across the room.
Now, the monster was after him. He’d fallen over and was backed to the wall on the ground, crying and pleading for his life. He’d been happily drunk just five minutes previously, but seeing the massacre had rapidly sobered him up.
The vampire was covered in blood, his clothes were soaked in it. His mouth dripped with so much blood as his fangs remained visible. His eyes were a terrifying deep dark red.
‘No amount of pleading will save you.’ The vampire snarled, then without more fooling around he launched for him.
He went straight for the neck of course, the sound of the man screaming in agony was like music to the vampire’s ears as he sucked the blood out of him.
From the adrenaline of fear, the man’s heart was working overtime and sent so much blood through his veins that just got sucked right out. The man turned pale white and passed out, before dying shortly after. The vampire could hear the man’s heartbeat slow, then it came to a complete stop.
Once he’d had his fill, the vampire dropped the body to his feet and he stood up straight. He looked around the room, at the sea of bodies, while he breathed in deeply. There wasn’t one survivor, no heartbeat could be heard.
He let out an angry snarl as he punched the wall, putting a large hole right through. It just wasn’t enough. It didn’t help ease his anger and pain one bit.
‘No… I know exactly what I need to do back in Redbridge.’ Chris snarled.

The Redbridge Hunts, Chapter 45
Tumblr media
The rest of the summer holidays was spent mainly, for Loki and Claire, just relaxing. Having the odd day out here and there, lots of dates and alone time.
Nearer the end of the holidays, they took a trip up the road to visit Claire’s parents, taking Louise with them. Loki was delighted to meet their parents, who thankfully adored Loki. Louise also grew closer with Loki, which Claire was so pleased with.
When everyone went back to school after the summer holidays, everyone was nice and refreshed and raring to go again. Well, aside from the students really.
Spencer had adapted to being a vampire really well. Thankfully, he was going to follow Jessica’s lead and use the blood bank mainly. With the occasional proper hunt, but only drunks who wouldn’t remember and those that were willing to be fed from.
Michael had accepted the vampires too, he figured that he’d known them for many years and they'd never hurt him to this point. Why would that change now he knew? If anything, he found it rather cool and a lot of things suddenly made more sense than they did before.
Things were calm for a couple of months. Halloween was growing closer, which was everyone’s favourite holiday. The teachers were looking forward to the Halloween party at the weekend that they always held at the school, inviting the older students that were old enough to drink. It was always a good laugh.
‘Calm down, students. I know it’s Monday morning and you’re looking forward to Halloween, but we still need to learn.’ Loki called out to the class, instantly silencing them all with his stern tone.
Claire tried not to think about how hot it was when he took charge like that.
‘Right, everyone open your books to page’ Loki was cut off when there was a knock on his classroom door, he was surprised yet concerned to see it was Lucius.
‘Sorry to disturb you. Need to speak with you, if possible?’ Lucius asked.
‘Sure… Claire, can you take over?’ Loki asked her.
‘Of course.’ Claire nodded and rushed over to take the book from Loki.
Loki headed out with Lucius. ‘What’s wrong?’
‘Nothing, don’t worry. I just have some news for you and Chris.’ He said as he began walking towards Chris’ office.
‘What sort of news?’
‘Wait and I’ll tell you both together.’ Lucius said.
They reached Chris’ office, he was waiting impatiently. He knew as well as Loki did that Lucius being there unannounced was something serious.
‘To what do we owe the pleasure of this visit?’ Chris asked as he leaned back against his desk, arms across his chest.
Lucius sighed and ran a hand down his face. ‘There’s no easy way to say this... The school board has decided that they want to appoint a new headmaster.’
Chris and Loki both froze, neither of them said anything as his words sunk in. Loki was confused. Chris went through all the emotions within ten seconds. Confusion, anger, frustration, fear, sadness.
‘I said there was no need, I really think you’re doing a good job, Chris. But they think someone new is what the school needs right now. They want you to step down to deputy principal.’ Lucius said carefully.
‘You can’t be serious?’ Chris said after getting his thoughts together.
‘Unfortunately, I am.’ Lucius swallowed hard.
‘Am I supposed to be fucking honoured that they want me to be deputy?’ Chris spat and began pacing back and fore. ‘Who do they want to appoint as head?’
Lucius slowly looked towards Loki, who’s eyes widened so wide like saucers. ‘Me?!’
Chris instantly saw red, his hands balled into fists and his jaw clenched hard. He launched for Loki, but Lucius had been half expecting it so knocked Chris flying to the side, he slammed into a book shelf, crushing it into hundreds of pieces and the books went flying everywhere.
‘Chris. This is not Loki’s fault. You can appeal.’ Lucius said firmly.
‘I don’t even want to be headmaster!’ Loki said quickly.
‘Yeah right. You’ve been after it for so long. Finally, you’re getting your wish, you’ll be able to twist the minds of the coming-of-age students into being perfect little blood bank feeders.’ Chris snarled furiously at Loki.
‘You know what, you’re right. If it stops you causing so many deaths within students, maybe it’s not a bad idea!’ Loki spat back at him in a moment of anger.
Chris snarled loudly and flew at Loki, this time Lucius couldn’t stop him in time. Chris grabbed Loki by the collar and tossed him across the room like a rag doll, it was Chris’ desk that got the brunt of the damage as Loki landed on it, crushing it in half and the legs snapped completely.
Lucius managed to grab hold of Chris, though Chris elbowed him hard in the face. Loki jumped for Chris and managed to get a swing in at his nose, breaking it. Chris just clicked it back into place like it was nothing.
‘ENOUGH!’ Lucius roared at them, but he had to grab hold of Chris again and pull him back from Loki. ‘Fighting will get us nowhere! It won’t be happening for a while yet, there’s a lot to discuss. We can sort this out.’
Chris was breathing hard as his nostrils flared angrily at Loki, he really looked like he wanted to kill him. Loki couldn’t deny he had never actually seen that look in him before, even with their previous severe fights…
‘There’s nothing to sort out. It sounds like the decision has already been made!’ Chris yelled at Lucius.
Chris screamed in pure rage as he picked up the leather sofa and tossed it out the window. Lucius knew that wouldn’t bode very well with the school board, it wouldn’t go in Chris’ favour if he wanted to try and change their mind.
‘Chris…’ Lucius tried but Chris leapt out of the window and took off without another word.
Loki looked at Lucius, he had no idea what the hell just happened.
‘Did you really think telling him this way was best? You could have warned me beforehand!’ Loki snapped at his dad.
‘I honestly didn’t think he would take it that bad.’ Lucius said honestly. ‘I’m sorry.’
‘Fucking hell, dad.’ Loki ran a hand down his face. ‘I’m not doing it, I’m not taking his job. I know I’ve said about how if I was headmaster, I’d run things differently in regards to helping the older students, but Chris… I can’t believe I’m saying this, aside from his faults, he’s actually good at this job.’
‘Well, that will be down to you and Chris to take to the board… They won’t like it if they hear about this outburst though.’
‘Can you blame him though? Really?’ Loki sighed.
Lucius realised he had fucked up. He should’ve at least waited until after school hours, just incase a student had seen or ended up in the firing line. Luckily that didn’t happen.
Loki shook his head and left the room, he couldn’t believe the way his dad had told them the news. He went to the teachers lounge and took some time to calm himself down and gather his thoughts before going back to class. Claire knew something major had happened, but she didn’t ask until school was over.
‘I have never seen Chris so angry before, I genuinely think he would’ve killed me if he had the chance.’ Loki swallowed hard.
Claire rubbed his shoulder and tried to comfort him. ‘It will be the shock of the news, considering how out of nowhere it’s come.’ She said quietly.
She could tell that Loki was shaken, they all knew that Chris was more powerful than Loki. If he wanted to kill Loki, he would have a hard time doing it, but probably could if he really wanted to. Loki was beginning to think he should be fearful for his life now.
Loki ran a hand through his dishevelled hair. ‘We need to be careful, I don’t know what he might do in this state.’
Claire nodded, she knew what he meant. Chris was a bit of a live wire as it was, but now…
‘I’m going to ask David and Matt to come crash at ours for the night, I think. Just for a bit of backup, incase Chris comes knocking.’ Loki decided after thinking for a minute.
‘Are you that concerned?’ Claire asked, surprised.
‘Yes. Honestly, love. I genuinely fear for our safety right now.’

The Redbridge Hunts, Chapter 44
Tumblr media
Claire found it rather surreal that she was currently in a big crowd, dancing around to a band that Chris was singing for. She hadn't realised he had such a good voice.
‘As much as you dislike your brother, you can’t deny he’s talented.’ Claire said to Loki between songs.
‘I know.’ Loki said reluctantly with a huff.
Loki did clap after each song, though didn’t show much more enthusiasm aside from that. Although, Claire swore that she spotted him mouthing along to some of the lyrics now and then, which made her heart hurt in a way. She wished she knew what really made them drift so far apart to the hate they have for one another now.
When Chris finished, he joined the group for drinks when they went to the main arena.
‘Well, you surprised me, Chris. I didn’t know you could sing so well.’ David said as he patted his shoulder.
‘Thanks.’ Chris shrugged. ‘It’s just all for fun, a little side thing we do.’
‘You could go far if you wanted to. You’re all a really talented bunch of guys.’ Spencer commented.
‘Perhaps in the future, the school is my main focus right now.’ Chris said nonchalantly. ‘What about you, little brother. Did you enjoy it? You are my biggest fan after all.’ He smirked at Loki.
Loki glared at him and shrugged. ‘Not terrible, I suppose.’ Was all Loki said, then he headed off to get some drinks from the bar.
‘I think he enjoyed it more than he wants to let on.’ Claire gave Chris a little smile.
‘What about you, did you enjoy it?’ Chris asked as he folded his arms over his chest.
‘Surprisingly, I did. I didn’t realise you had quite a set of lungs on you.’ She teased.
Chris smirked. ‘Should invite that sister of yours next time. Maybe she’d like to hook up with the lead singer, go for a bite to eat.’
Claire shook her head and rolled her eyes. ‘Yeah, that won’t be happening.’
Everyone enjoyed the rest of the afternoon and start of the evening, they were drinking of course but not quite as heavy as the previous night. It was slower and they made sure to eat plenty between drinks, too.
‘Has anyone seen Spencer?’ Jessica asked the others.
‘No, actually. Where did he go?’ Michael frowned.
‘I think he said he was going to the toilet, but that was a while ago.’ Loki said with a frown.
‘We should go look for him. I’ve just heard that there’s been a few… incidents. Very drunk young… people. Drinking things they shouldn’t be.’ Jessica said worriedly as she looked at Loki with a certain look, that Loki and the other vampires picked up on instantly.
‘Yeah, let’s go find him.’ Matt said and everyone agreed.
They headed for the porta loos first, Loki raised his nose up to the air and sniffed. Of course, he could smell the disgusting typical porta loo smells, but through that he could also smell a lot of exposed blood… but what made his stomach drop was it was Spencer’s blood he could smell.
He rushed around the back of the toilets, the group quickly followed him, knowing he had picked up the scent of something. As they got closer, the other vampires could clearly smell him too.
‘Oh god.’ Claire cried when they found him round the back, dying. He was bleeding badly from a bite to his neck, coughing and spluttering.
There was another couple of humans round there too in the same predicament.
‘Shit!’ Loki gasped and wiped a hand down his face.
‘We need to save him! Someone needs to change him!’ Jessica sobbed as she put her hands over her face.
‘Not without permission… We can’t.’ Loki said reluctantly.
‘Fuck permission. I am not losing another good teacher.’ Chris snarled as he pushed Loki out of the way and rushed over to Spencer.
He crouched down and tried to sit him up, supporting him at his back.
‘Stay with me, Spencer… This will hurt, a lot.’ Chris said sheepishly. ‘It will be over quickly though.’
Spencer was pretty far gone, so didn’t really take in what Chris said. Though he soon found out as Chris bit his neck, his fangs sank into him and Spencer’s eyes widened for a moment before they closed. The vampires could all sense his heartbeat, it had been slowing down but had a slight spike when Chris injected venom into Spencer’s blood via his fangs, but then his heart began to rapidly decline.
Chris swiftly bit his own wrist, then made sure to drip enough of his blood into Spencer’s mouth that he had to force open. Once Chris was sure he’d gotten enough, he focused on his heartbeat and waited a moment. All the others were waiting too with baited breath, though Michael was at the back, horrified at what he was witnessing. In disbelief.
Spencer suddenly gasped and sat bolt upright, he coughed a few times and spat out some blood. His new fangs were emerged and he looked terrified.
‘It’s alright, calm down, Spencer. You’re ok. You’ll be feeling funny, but you’re going to be ok. Just trust us.’ Chris said calmly.
Spencer looked wild eyed as he glanced around, his senses were heightened and he was struggling to focus properly.
‘I’ll get him back to his tent. Meet me there.’ Chris said to the group, who nodded in agreement.
Chris was able to put Spencer over his shoulder, then he took large leaps and levitated over the crowds and back to their camp. He didn’t care in the moment who saw, he just needed to get Spencer to calm down and focus.
When the group turned around to head back, they were faced with Michael. Who was white as a ghost and looked like he was going to pass out.
‘Ah… Michael… We uh, need to discuss a few things back at camp.’ David said as he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
When the whole group got back to their tents, Chris had managed to calm Spencer down enough to explain to him everything going on.
Loki and Matt took Michael to the side and explained to him too, he took it surprisingly well considering what he’d just witnessed. Though he was still in shock.
Jessica went to comfort Spencer in their tent while the others remained outside.
‘What the hell do we do now?’ Matt asked.
‘There’s nothing to do.’ Hannibal shrugged.
‘We’ve got two humans here, where it’s clearly not safe anymore. There are obviously some young vampires running around feral. They should have smelled Jessica on Spencer, but still went ahead anyway.’ Matt argued.
‘Matt’s right. Plus, Spencer isn’t going to be in any state to enjoy the rest of the night or tomorrow now. He needs time to adjust to his new senses.’ Chris said with a sigh. ‘I think we should head home.’
‘I agree. I don’t think I’ll be able to enjoy myself without worrying now.’ Loki said as he looked at Claire, who nodded in agreement.
‘We’ve had our fun, but if it’s getting too dangerous now, there’s no fun in that.’ Claire said quietly.
‘I’m getting my weekend tickets worth, whether you guys are staying or not.’ Hannibal said defensively and Will nodded in agreement with his partner.
‘Are you sober enough to drive?’ David asked Chris.
Chris nodded. ‘I’ve only had a few beers over the course of today.’
‘Let’s get packed up then.’ Loki sighed.
Everyone apart from Hannibal and Will began to get their things together. Spencer managed to help a little. Chris went back to get his own belongings and said he’d meet them at the bus.
‘I’m sorry we’re leaving already, love.’ Loki said softly to Claire as he pulled her into a hug.
‘That’s ok, it’s not your fault. It’s safer for everyone if we do. Besides, I’ve seen my favourite bands today, there’s not anyone I’m disappointed about missing tomorrow.’ Claire smiled up at him.
Loki kissed her forehead.
‘Besides, you really need a shower. You stink already.’ Claire teased.
‘Speak for yourself, smelly girl.’ Loki laughed as he stuck his tongue out at her.
They were all packed up pretty quickly and made their way to the bus to meet up with Chris. He was there waiting for them already. Before they knew it, they were on the road home.
Spencer and Michael had a lot of questions, which everyone else happily answered. Spencer seemed calmer now he was away from all the noise and high stimulation. It let his senses settle better, though he did often glance at Michael or Claire with a weird look in his eye. It would take him some time to adjust being around humans when his new instincts were telling him to feed from them.
Claire was next to Loki on the way home, leaning into him. She fell asleep for half the way, the alcohol and late night catching up on her.
‘Finally, Demsdale is in sight. You guys absolutely reek.’ Chris called back to the group.
‘Well, we’re not all rich enough to afford glamping. Plus, it was only one night. We can’t be smelling that bad.’ Michael argued.
‘Us vampires have a very strong sense of smell. Trust me when I say, we stink already. All that alcohol, sweat, and vomit from a few…’ Loki chuckled.
‘Huh… Fair enough.’ Michael sat back in his seat. He was going to take a while to get used to the whole vampire thing.
Loki and Claire were dropped off first, which they were glad of. Loki decided to leave Bat with his dad for the night and they’d go get her in the morning.
‘I’m showering first!’ Claire bolted straight upstairs.
‘I don’t think so!’ Loki called after her and ran up behind her. He grabbed her ankle when she was almost at the top step, she let out a screech as he pulled her down a few steps but then she turned over and he paused over the top of her with a grin.
‘Not fair, you’re faster and stronger. You’ll always beat me.’ She pouted.
‘N’aww, my poor little smelly vampire slut.’ Loki mocked and kissed the tip of her nose. ‘How about we both win tonight and shower together, hmm?’ He asked in a sultry tone as he trailed his finger down the side of her neck.
‘If I say no?’ Claire asked defiantly and raised an eyebrow.
‘Well… Then I’ll dump you in the bath while I shower myself.’ Loki shrugged. ‘Though it would be much more fun to share the shower, since it would also include an orgasm.’
‘Make it two and you’ve got a deal.’
Loki laughed and pressed his forehead against hers. ‘You drive a hard bargain, but I’m sure I can manage that.’
Manage that he certainly did. They didn’t take long to get worked up in the shower, washing one another’s bodies. Loki then had her pressed against the glass door while he fucked her good and hard. The first round was fast and needy, both of them clung to each other tightly like their life depended on it. Loki was growling and grunting like a crazed animal with Claire whimpering and whining with every thrust.
The second round was slower, more sensual. Loki moved deep and slow, driving Claire crazy with how deep he was inside of her because they were stood up, with only him supporting her. There was lots of sloppy kisses, Loki couldn’t keep his mouth off of hers.
‘I still can’t believe you’re mine. I love you, my darling.’ Loki whispered over her lips when they finished together.
‘I love you more.’ Claire whispered back with a little giggle.
‘Not possible.’ Loki slid his hand up her spine, making her skin tingle.
After getting dried off, they climbed into bed and both groaned. Even though it was just one night spent at the festival, it was still nice getting back into their comfortable bed.
‘Maybe next time we should do glamping too. Considering the bed feels this good after just one night.’ Claire suggested.
‘Agreed.’ Loki laughed.

The following morning, Loki and Claire woke up in bed to the news that the festival had been closed down last night. There were twenty-seven bodies found in the festival site, the police weren't sure what the cause was. They said it looked like a wild animal had been loose, but there were no witnesses for it.
‘Fuck.’ Claire gasped and put her hand over her mouth when Loki finished reading out the headline that was all over social media.
‘I’m so glad we left when we did.’ Loki said as he swallowed hard. ‘At least it’s over five hours away, not near Demsdale. So I’d say we don’t need to worry about feral vampires being here. Not more than our usual, anyway.’ He assured Claire as he put his arm around her and kissed the top of her head.
‘Thank you for keeping me safe, as always. Coming home was the right choice.’
‘I wouldn’t have let that happen to you even if we stayed. I’ll always protect you, my love.’ Loki said as he hugged her tightly.

Note
will you be starting another fic soon? I like Redbridge Hunts to an extent, though I prefer when it’s focused more just on Loki. There’s too many characters.
Well, bad news for you I’m afraid.
I was going to try starting another fic, but honestly the vampy gang just have me in a complete chokehold right now. I’ve already started on a sequel where it’s even more focused on others, alongside Loki.
So I’ll probably just be doing one shots now and then alongside The Redbridge Hunts/its sequel. I’ll no doubt start working on the special ten year anniversary one shot soon for posting in May.
