Tumblr media
~~~~~~
I wanna take you everywhere I go
Have you by my side
Take a walk round in every town
Drive across state lines
Like the sun sends a golden stream
Into our front room
I could be the same old light for you
~~~~~~
“Come on, dance with me,” Loki pulled her out of the couch and flush to his body.
“You mean ‘sway’ with me,” she giggled.
“Whatever you would like to call it,” he rested his cheek against hers.
“I love this song!” She hummed.
“So do I.”
The lyrics floated through the room, and rippled with the movements of the two bodies swaying to the whims of the accompanying music.
~~~~~~
Like the morning is always new
Give it back to you
Like the rain, it just passes through
For all you give
I'll give it back to you
~~~~~~
“You know I love you, right?” Loki murmured on the skin of her shoulder.
“Mm-hmm.”
“Then why do you say things that hurt me?”
An exhausted sigh left her. She pulled herself away ever so slightly, just enough to be able to look into his green eyes.
“I never wanted to hurt you, Loki. It’s true, isn’t it, that I don’t look as I used to. I don’t like this version of me.”
His eyes looked deep into her soul. There was a command in them, as a king would hold while addressing his subject. But it was softened by a reverence and an equally unparalleled love.
~~~~~~
I think about it like a man in need
Every time I'm gone
Wait to see you like a mile-long train
Is passing by your door
And my life is set around you now
Tangled up the same
And I'll be the one who calls your name
~~~~~~
“But I still love you,” Loki declared. “You. How you look has never mattered to me.”
She raised a playful brow at the statement.
The trickster let out a soft laugh. “I mean, I love the way you look. Any time. In any form. You have always mesmerized me, love.”
“But I disappoint myself,” tears had begun to form at the corners of her eyes.
“Why do you let your looks define you?” Loki slipped a slender finger beneath her chin and held it up. “You are a queen! It is not your looks but your attitude and your work that should define you.”
“Easy for you to say, god!”
Loki sighed in defeat. There seemed to be no way he could convince her with his words.
“Come here.” He took her by the hand, and walked to their bedroom.
“Love, I get it. I get your point,” she chuckled, assuming Loki’s “intentions”.
“No, you do not. You say that you have understood, and then I see you hating yourself all over again. Were you not the one who had taught me to love myself no matter what the world says? Were you not the one to tell me to look past my faults, and find the light inside? I did. And I found you. I found us!”
“I still love myself,” she tried to reason, “I just...it’s this mirror that I don’t like.”
“And this is exactly the reason why I need you to look at it.”
Loki positioned them to stand in front of the mirror, with her facing it while he stood behind her.
“What do you see?” He asked her reflection.
“A gorgeous god with a bag of fat,” she laughed, knowing the reaction she’d receive from him.
“You know what I see?”
“A humble god with a ravishing woman?” She jested.
“Partially correct. The woman is ravishing, yes. But the god is gorgeous, too.”
“Narcissist!” She smacked his arm playfully.
“What? One should always appreciate oneself! You are the one who has taught me that.”
“Hmm,” she hummed in agreement, letting a stubborn smile take over her features.
“But I also see a gracious amount of soft skin hidden behind this ugly piece of cloth,” Loki pulled at her t-shirt.
“Don’t you call my baggy tee ugly, mister!” She laughed.
“Shut up. It is ugly because it does not allow me to feel the warmth of your skin. Do you have any idea how much your touch soothes me? How I crave for your skin...any part of it whenever I am feeling anxious?”
“I know,” she whispered.
“Then? I see this ugly thing again, not hugging but clumsily falling over your beautiful, curvy waist,” his hands gently squeezed her waist. “You know how much I love these curves of yours. But did you know that now there is a lot more room for me to dig my fingers into as I make love to you?”
The way he was purring into her ears, and the manner in which his long fingers were slowly gripping her, made her giggle and squirm.
“Ticklish...just the way I like it. See, you do not even allow me to tickle you anymore.”
The more she wiggled under his hold, the more he continued his mischief. Their laughter filled the room until she was panting and begging him to stop.
He kissed her neck before speaking, “And these?”
His palms had now snaked up her body, stopping only when they came to rest on her breasts.
“Do you have any, any idea how much I love these?”
“I guess, I do,” she replied through ragged breaths. Either his hands were exuding magic or she must have lost her senses during the whole tickle-fight, she thought.
“No, you do not,” he breathed in her ear. Yes, it was him and not her, she was sure now.
“If you knew,” his mouth continued with the words while his hands continued with something else, “you would not have left me craving for days.”
“(Y/N)?” He turned her around to face him, “Why are you depriving me of things that I love? Things that I need for survival? I need you. All of you - the good and the bad. Although there is nothing ‘bad’ about your body but only about the way you look at it. Look at yourself the way I look at you. And then you shall see what a marvellous creation you are!”
A tear ran down her cheek. Wiping it off, she tried to laugh but almost choked on her emotions. “I still don’t understand how you can love me so much. You, a god!”
“I am,” Loki kissed her face, “but a simple man with a heart that beats for you. And yes, the most charming man in the entire universe!”
His mischievous smirk made her laugh. Loki stole the moment to pull her flush to him.
“You are my queen,” he ran a hand over her head and down her neck, “my angel. You are…the most beautiful creation that can ever exist. And never ever will you doubt yourself.” He leaned down to whisper in her ear, “Or else I shall punish you.”
A pleasant shiver ran up her spine. “Is that a threat from a god?” She whispered back.
“It is a promise from a god,” his breath warmed the shell of her ear, “and a god always keeps his promise.”

Headcanons for kissing with Loki :)
• First things first, most of your kisses have probably started with a simple peck. Just a soft kiss to his lips in passing, you pull back to breathe and go on with your day and the next thing you know you’re being pulled back in.
• He definitely loves forehead kisses. I think he needs them when he’s spiralling and thinking about his past.
• Please just take his face in your hands and be gentle with him.
• I also think he’d enjoy giving them, especially when you’re cuddling and he can’t kiss you on your lips.
• sometimes he kisses like he’s been starved of you. His hands travelling on you, trying to feel every part he can. Bury your hands in his hair while you’re kissing and he’s melting like a popsicle
• He can be so needy when he’s kissing you, pulling you impossibly closer.
• kiss on his neck and he’s a whining mess. Also his collarbones are sensitive as hell.
•Expect hundreds of kisses on your hands, it’s a habit he’s gained from living in Asgard.
• In the morning he’s a cutie, kissing softly on your cheeks and over your head. Also side note, expect to be late in the morning because I’m a firm believer he’s clingy as fuck. Like, he’s holding onto you begging for five more minutes of being held.
• he’s an attention whore, so if you’re busy doing something expect him to be pressing kisses to your pulse points, or any sensitive places he can get to.
• Kisses to the palm of your hands in public
• Also the hello kisses when you haven’t seen eachother for a while? Adorable. He’s picking you up and spinning you as gently as he can.
• he’s just so happy to see you.
NSFW WARNING!!
• during the act he’s kissing your neck, biting and soothing over with his tongue. He likes to kiss over your stomach too.
• he’s definitely leaving hickeys. You’re his and he wants everyone to know.
• he’s kissing down your body, and if you’ve been tied up once you’re done he’ll kiss over any bruises
• he would be such a tease too, kissing at your inner thighs before going where you need. He wants to hear you begging for him to give you what you want.
• afterwards he’s so gentle with you, kissing any places that got bruised or ontop of hickeys.
• he’s just a huge sweetheart okay.
A/N: hii hope you enjoyed :) Requests are open !! Please feel free to leave some!!

Y/N and Loki had been best friends for a couple of years now. They met when her mother, a close friend of Frigga, accepted the invitation to move to Asgard and live with them. Loki and Y/N were 5 at the time ant that was 3 years ago. Now they’re 8 years old.
Y/N had a nightmare that night and woke up scared, so she decided to go to her best friend’s room, like she usually did when she was scared. She knocked on his door, gently. Loki was laying on his bed, sobbing on his pillow, but when he heard a knock on his door, he sat up and tried to stop crying. Y/N didn’t wait for an answer, she knocked and enter his room and went straight to his bed with him. Loki looks over at her and wipes the last of his tears with the back of his hand “W-what do you want?”
“What happened?” She asked worried seeing him cry, her nightmare long forgotten.
“Dad hurt me...” Loki said quietly.
Her face showed pure shock “...what?”
Loki nods, looking down “He...he hit me.”
Y/N hugged the little boy tightly “I’m so sorry, Loki.” He hugged her back, sobbing into her shoulders. “Do you want me to stay with you? Or maybe come to my room?”
He looks at her, his face wet with the tears “I want to come to your room.”
She held his hand as they got off his bed and walked to her room, Loki following her and still shaken. They went to her bed as soon as they entered Y/N’s room and Loki curls up next to her. “I’ll protect you.” She says to her friend.
Loki smiles and closes his eyes, slowly beginning to fall asleep feeling safe with her. Y/N seeing he was peacefully, finally closed her eyes and slept too, with no more nightmares in the night. After that night, they made a habit to sleep together sometimes, but no one really mind since they were only kids.
4 years later
Loki and Y/N were now 12 and they still sleeping close by with Y/N. They are laying on her bed, when she broke the silence. “How was your day?” Loki mumbles something about Odin being mean to him, again. “You should come train with me and Thor. Maybe that could help you relax." She smiles at him.
Loki just nods at her. He didn’t like that much of the idea to train with Thor. Everyone thinks so highly of his brother. They talked for a few more minutes before they decided to sleep. Loki tried once to train with her and his brother, but he didn't like. So, he starts to spend more of his time in the library reading.
3 years later
They're 15 years old now. Loki had gotten taller than Y/N, which was normal, his voice had changed, and he looked more like a man than a boy. Y/N's body was also changing and they're both filled with hormones. Loki got better with his magic and Y/N got better with the fight skills. They still sleep sometimes together, it was a habit by now. But the hormones were starting to act on them.
Loki was reading a book but couldn’t stop thinking of Y/N. He had thought of her a lot recently and had even caught himself fantasizing of her a lot. He tried to keep his mind on the book, but it was hard when he had been thinking about her so much. Then a knock came on the door and interrupted his thoughts.
“Loki?” She called him.
He put down his book and got up then walked over to the door and opened it, looking at her “Yeah?”
“Can I come in?” She looked a little sad.
“Uh, yeah.” he steps aside and opens the door wide enough for her to enter. Y/N follow straight to let her body fall on his bed with a groan. Loki walked and sat next to her with concern on his face “Are you okay?”
“No.”
“Why? What’s wrong?” Loki looked at her with genuine curiosity and concern.
"Sif and your brother keep making fun of me because I never kissed anyone." She rolls her eyes.
Loki thought about it for a minute before a smirk grew on his face “You haven’t kissed anyone at all?”
"Oh, come on, not you too." Y/N says frustrated and looks away.
He chuckles and playfully nudged her shoulder “I’m not making fun of you, I’m just surprised.”
Y/N sighs, sitting and looking at him “Have you?”
Loki turned slightly red “Well… no I haven’t kissed anyone…” Y/N smiles sympathetic at him. Loki was still a little red “B-but have you really never kissed anyone?” He still couldn’t believe it. In his mind Y/N had kissed loads of boys because she was so pretty. She just shakes her head at his question.
He thinks for a second and then speaks “So let me get this right, you have never been kissed and I’ve never been kissed, right?”
“Yeah...” She nods.
Loki thinks for another second then looks back over at her “I have an idea…”
“What is it?” Y/N asks curious at him.
He takes a deep breath and then leans in towards Y/N “Just close your eyes…” She looks at him for a few seconds and then do as he asks. Loki takes a deep breath and then leans in further, so his lips meet hers. It isn’t a very long kiss and is quite short. When it is over Loki looks at her with a blush on his cheeks “So what do you think…”
She he opens her eyes and smiles, with a blushing on her cheeks too "That was...uh, nice."
Loki is still blushing hard and can’t pull his gaze from her “You really think so…?”
Y/N nods "Can we...do it again?"
He can’t contain the blush on his face and his body is practically radiate heat. His eyes are still glued to her face “Yeah definitely…” he leans back in for another kiss. She leans in too, kissing him. Loki’s mind was racing with thoughts. He never thought this would happen, especially when the person he’s kissing is Y/N. It was incredible, better than anything he had imagined in his fantasies. He holds her waist, pulling her closer to him as he kissed her.
Loki moans softly into the kiss as the heat escalate, his body reacting to the heat between them. His hands move up her back, tangling in her hair as he deepens the kiss. He can feel himself growing hard against his pants and he breaks the kiss, gasping for air “We should stop.”
Y/N could feel herself getting wet with just kissing Loki, but she agreed “Yeah, we should.”
He nods, running his hand through his hair. He can feel the adrenaline coursing through his veins. This was unlike anything he had ever experienced before. He knows they need to stop before things go too far “Do you want to sleep here tonight...?”
“Sure.” She smiles while she tries to recover from that hot kiss.
Loki smiles back, laying down in the bed and patting the space next to him for her to lay down next to him. She does it and he pulls her close to him and hugs her tightly as he closes his eyes.
“Loki?” She called him in a whisper.
He opens his eyes and then looks at her “Yeah?”
"We're not gonna tell about this to anyone, right?"
Loki nods “Yeah definitely. I mean, there’s no reason for anyone to know about it. And I doubt you’d want just anyone to know about this.”
"Yeah. Just two friends helping each other." She says smiling. Loki nods again and looks back down, closing his eyes. Y/N does the same and they soon fell asleep.
3 years later
Loki and Y/N were now 18. Loki’s body had changed a lot since he was younger. He was more muscular than he was back then, and his face had matured to the point where he didn’t look like a little boy, but a man. Y/N also changed in those years. She looked like a grown woman now and it she was becoming one of the best fighters on the realm.
Loki was laying in his bed and staring at the ceiling, thinking about things that were not that important. He heard a knock at his door, and he sighed, getting up to answer it. He looked at Y/N standing there for a few seconds, her beauty striking him a little bit.  “Hey, you’re just back from training?”
"Yeah. I beat Sif's ass all the time today." She laughs getting in his room, dropping her sword closer to his door.
He grins “Damn, that’s pretty impressive. I’m surprised she didn’t tell you off or complain about you being better than her.”
"How said she didn't?" Y/N laughs.
“And I assume you gave her a good comeback, like saying how you’re better than her?” Loki laughed too.
“Something like that.” She says still laughing. “Can I use your shower? Mine’s not working.”
Loki tilts his head in curiosity but then nods “Sure, go ahead. There’s soap right next to the shower and a towel is on the floor next to it too.”
"Thanks." She smiles and enters his bathroom. After a few minutes, Loki heard the shower being turned off. But then Y/N appears on the door with only a towel "Can I borrow one of your shirts? I forgot to bring my clothes."
Loki looks at her, his eyes trailing down her body. He could see the outline of her breasts through the towel and feel a familiar stirring in his pants. He nods, standing up and grabbing a shirt from his dresser “Here you go.”
"Thanks." She smiles "Maybe one of your boxers too?"
Loki blinks caught off guard by her request. His heart races and his breathing hitches. He hesitates for a moment but then nods slowly, grabbing a pair of boxers from his drawer. He hands them to her with clumsy fingers. “Here.”
"Thanks." She smiles and goes to the bathroom to get changed. She exits the clean clothes she’s borrow. Loki stares at her as she walks back into the room. He can't help but notice how sexy she looks in just his shirt and boxers. His mind races with thoughts of all the things he could do to her, all the ways he could touch her. Y/N lays by his side on the bed.
Loki glances at her with a smirk “You look cute in my shirt.”
She chuckles "Thanks."
He can feel her body pressing against him, and he can't help but respond. His hand finds its way to her thigh, slowly moving upward. “What are you thinking about?”
His touch sent shivers down her body "Sif and I were talking today about...some things."
Loki nods and then leans closer to her “What sort of things…?”
“Personal things...”
He thinks for a moment and then speaks softly “can you tell me…?”
Y/N chuckles and nods "She was telling me about her first time."
Loki’s interest is piqued, and he raises his eyebrow “and…?”
"I don’t know, I was just...wondering about things.” Y/N looks at him, a small blush on her face “Have you...did you already...Have you ever had sex?"”
Loki turns red and he blushes “uhm well no….”
“Really? But you’re a prince.” She smiles.
He shrugs and blushes even harder “well, have you…?”
“...no.” She blushes.
Loki turns to her and looks her in the eye “So you haven’t…ever?”
"No. Why?" She looks at him.
“I just thought…well, you must have had boyfriends, right...?” Loki asked.
Y/N chuckles "I spent my free time with you, so no. I don't."
Loki blushes more and moves a bit closer to her “So…we’re both virgins…?’
“Yeah.” Y/N let out a nervous chuckle.
Loki smiles at her and his body heats up. He leans in closer to her, almost whispering “So…want to change that...?”
“...what?” She whispers back to him.
His breath hitches and he speak softly “Do…you wanna….y’know do it together?” Y/N thinks for a few seconds before she nods at him. He was her first kiss and she trusted him to be her first time too. Loki smiles gently, biting his lip ever so slightly “You sure this is what you want?”
“I am. Are you?”
Loki nods, his heart pounding in his chest “Yes, I am.” he leans in slowly, pressing his lips against hers. She kisses him back, remembering a when they kissed for the first time years ago.
Feeling her lips against his, Loki groans softly into the kiss. He wraps his arms around her waist, pulling her closer as their tongues slowly explore each other’s mouths. Their kiss deepens as their desire grows stronger.
Loki’s hands wander over her body, exploring the curves that have developed over the years. Y/N’s hand also explored his body and his muscular chest through the clothes he was wearing. That made Loki let out a groan when her hands travelled his body. He breaks the kiss to press his lips against her neck, trailing soft kisses down her collarbone, making Y/N moan and her hands going down to palm him through the pants. Loki gasped at the feeling. He’s never been touched like this before by someone else and it’s driving him wild.
He slides his hand on her body to take off the shirt she was wearing, exposing her breasts to him. Loki’s mouth goes down, capturing one of her nipples in his mouth, rolling it between his teeth softly. Y/N’s hands worked quickly to take off his shirt too, while his hands worked to slide down her body the boxer she was wearing.
Y/N’s hand found his cock when she opens his pants, making Loki gasp and his hips buck into her touch. He groans loudly as he feels her fingers wrapped around his throbbing length “Oh gods, Y/N... this feel so good...” She kept stroking him while he struggles to maintain control when her hands worked on him.
She suddenly stops, smiling at him “Can you take these off? I want to try something.”
Loki grins and quickly pull the remaining clothes off, his erection visible now making her eyes widen, thinking if he would really fit her. “What do you have in mind?”
“Lay down.” She says.
With a nod, Loki obey her. She starts stocking him slowly again, making him moan loudly and squirm beneath her as she kept her slow pace. “Oh, fuck...”
“Can you guide me?” She asks with a smirk on her lips.
Loki just nods his head when she decided to put him on her mouth. His hips jerk up off the bed ad he feels Y/N’s warm mouth on his cock, making him let out a long and low moan. Loki’s hand run though her hair, guiding her as she takes more of him. Loki’s eyes roll back into his head, unable to believe how good this feels.
Y/N looks at him confused when he suddenly pulls her off “Did I do something wrong?”
He shakes his head quickly and pulls her to kiss her deeply, his tongue exploring her mouth and tasting himself “No, you were perfect. I just want to finish with you.”
“Oh, okay.” She smiles.
Loki lay her down underneath him, smiling at her as his hands moved to her folds. Y/N let out a moan just with the feelings of his hands coming close. She was never touched like that by anyone. Loki slide one finger inside her, slowly stroking her wetness and rubbing her clit with his thumb. That made her let out a louder moan.
Feeling her inner walls clench around his finger, Loki chuckles softly. He kisses her neck and moves to her ear, nibbling gently “So wet for me...”
“Loki...” She moans his name.
Loki groans in response, pushing a second finger inside her slowly. He starts thrusting them in and out gently, stretching her as he leans down to capture one of her nipples in his mouth again. Feeling her body respond to his touch, Loki puck up the pace slightly, increasing both the depth and the speed of his thrust.
“Loki, I think I’m close.”
He quickens his pace even more “Come for me.” Seconds later she was hit by her climax, and his fingers keep stroking her, feeling her muscles relax and loosen after her orgasm. “I don’t want this to hurt you, Y/N/N. Are you ready?”
Y/N just nods at him. Slowly, Loki lines himself up with her entrance, taking a deep breath before he starts pushing forward slowly, feeling the tightness of her entrance as he slips inside. Her face showed pain when he enters her and a few tears scape her eyes. Loki freezes seeing her tears and stops, kissing her tears away. He then keeps sliding inside her, slower than the first time and stops, kissing gently her forehead.
“You can move.” She says after a few more seconds.
Once he’s sure that she wasn’t in pain anymore, Loki begins to move, his thrusts slow and gentle as his hands find their way to hers where they lace their fingers together. Y/N let out a small moan, her pain turning into pleasure.
Loki speed up his thrusts slightly as he hears her moans, watching her face for any sigh that he was going too fast or too hard. When she smiles softly at him, he returns her smile, a warm feeling spreading through his chest. After years of waiting, he finally lost his virginity with her, his best friend.
“Loki, I’m...”
“I know.” Was all he said before kissing her. Loki was close too. Her walls clenched around his cock as she moans his name again. Feeling her climax, Loki couldn’t help but release his seed deep inside her. He groans into the kiss, feeling a wave of pleasure wash over him. Panting heavily, Loki slowly pulls out of her, and he collapsed onto the bed besides her. A small smile crept onto his lips as he thought of what just happened between them “That…felt incredible…”
Y/N nods, still trying to catch her breath “You’re sure you never done that before?”
Loki chuckles as he wraps an arm around her and pulling her to him “I’m sure, that was honestly all new to me.”
“Well, you were really good.” she chuckles, laying her head on his chest.
He blushes as he rubs his hand up and down her back, a small smile on his face “Thank you…you know…I gotta say that was one of the best things I've ever done in my life…”
“We should do it more times.” Y/N suggested.
Loki nods “I agree, I wouldn’t mind doing this over and over again with you…”
She smiles at him “Yeah. We’re friends, we can be a bit more intimate...”
He smiles and rubs her back a bit “I guess that’s how we can describe it and that’s how it should stay, right? Just friends…”
“Yeah.” She agrees.
-----
Y/N and Loki manage to keep that way for about 8 months. But being intimate brough them closer than they already were, making people inside the palace starts gossiping about them, how they were cute together, that they were probably together but just hiding for the public, that they’re in love. Even Thor and his friends engage with that gossip.
Loki would notice the whispers. Some people in the castle would start joking around with him about him being ‘in love’ with her. He would jokingly brush it off with a laugh and would deny it. But he was starting to actually have feelings for her. But he could not act on them due to the fact that he remembered what she said to him about them just being friends. So, he remained silent about the situation, still only acting as just friends with her.
Y/N knocked on Loki’s door earlier than normal. Loki was just sitting on his bed reading a book and he was quite shocked at her early arrival. He quickly put his book aside and went to the door “Hey, what’re you doing here?”
Loki could see she was angry “Your dear brother just kicked me out of our training today.”
He was take by surprise by her answer and he got slightly confused “W-what...? Thor kicked you out…?”
“Yes!” she sits on his bed letting out a frustrated sigh.
Loki was shocked and he wasn't expecting her to be this angry. He sits down next to her and thinks about this for a moment before finally asking “Why did he kick you out?”
“Just because I was mad that they kept saying those gossips about us.”
“Well…you shouldn’t be paying mind and listening to what people are saying, okay?” Loki says to her, trying to easy her anger.
Y/N sighs “I know, but it’s all the damn time...”
Loki nods, taking her hand gently “Don’t let them get to you…alright...?”
She looks for a moment to their hands together, a small smile appearing on her face “I’ll try.”
Loki smiled back at her and then speaks softly “Listen…about those people that gossip about us….do you think they’re right?”
Y/N chuckles, looking at him “We both know that we’re not together.”
He just nods, looking down before he says quietly “Right, we’re not… just friends right…?”
Y/N noticed the way he was acting. In fact, she noticed the last time they were together too, but she said to herself she was imagining things. “You’re not happy with this, are you?”
Loki sighs, avoiding eye contact with her “No…honestly…no I’m not happy with this…”
She nods at him, feeling tense and fearing his next answer “Do you want to stop?”
He looks back up at her “No…I meant…I’m unhappy with the fact that we’re just friends.”
Y/N let out the breath she was holding, relaxing with his answer and smiling “Oh, thank the gods!”
Loki was surprised by her reaction. He had expected her to pull away as soon as he had said his last few words “But…you…you’re not upset…?”
“No.” She chuckles “I was thinking about that the last two times we had sex…”
His body tenses up and he blinks in surprise, his heart pounding as he realizes what she’s said “H-hold on a sec…w-we’re you actually wanting to take this further…?"
“Yeah, I just didn’t know how to bring this up…”
Loki was speechless as he realized how stupid he was for not acting on those feelings earlier “But does that mean you would want to start a…. relationship with me…?"
“If you want to.” Y/N smiles widen.
He smiles and grabs her hand “You have no idea how happy you’ve made me right now. I’ve wanted this for so long…” She smiles at him. Loki’s heartbeat quickens as he feels her hand brush against his. He was finally with the woman he had always wanted to be with for so long.
Years later
Y/N and Loki were still dating. They were the favorite royal couple.
Thor instead in them going with him to fight the frost giants. Loki had become a master of magic in thoses years and Y/N was one of the best warriors of Asgard. When Thor asked them to go with him to fight the frost giants, Loki agreed without any hesitation or question.
As they were preparing to leave Loki walked up to Y/N. He looked at her and smirked a soft smile “Hey.’
“Hi.” She smiles at him. He could notice she was tense.
"Are you ready for this?” He asked walking closer to her.
“Yeah.”
Loki grabs her hands and gives it a tight squeeze “Don't worry, I won't let anything hurt you.” He smiles at her and pats her forearm reassuringly.
That made her chuckle, she probably was a better fighter than he was "I'm not worried about that."
He looks at her curiously, raising his eyebrow “Then what are you worried about?”
"Odin said for Thor to let it pass, and yet Thor insisted. I just have a bad feeling about this..." She says at her boyfriend.
Loki thinks about what she's said, he also was feeling a bit uneasy as well, but he wasn't going to admit that yet “Hmm... well, I think we'll be fine. I mean we're fighting frost giants, not the entire realm.” he then smirked and spoke sarcastically “Besides, are you scared?”
Y/N rolled her eyes at him “Me? Never!”
Y/N and Loki joined everyone else. In the middle of the fight, she saw one of them grabbing Loki's arm. When she run to him, he looks like he just saw a ghost. She grabbed his arm expecting to see a wound, but it had...nothing. He was fine.
Loki’s eyes were widened, and he looked at her in shock as he slowly pulls his arm away from her. He was scared and his mind was going a mile a second as he was trying to figure out what exactly had happened.
“You’re...not hurt.” She says looking at his arm confused.
He blinks and looks at her, his gaze was now a bit more confused, and she could see that he was still shaken up. “I…no…I’m not….”
They didn't have much time after that to talk. Everything happened so fast, Odin came and took them all back, banished Thor to Midgard. Y/N quickly took Loki back to her room, before Odin decided to do something with him too.
Loki was obviously shaken up by everything that had happened. He was quiet and kept to himself whilst Y/N took him to her room and his mind was just running a mile a minute. Once they were inside her room, he spoke for the first time since everything had happened "I need to go...to see something."
Y/N nods “Okay, I’ll go with you.”
"No... I'll go alone. It's something I have to do on my own...I’ll be right back." Loki doesn't explain any further as he walks out of her room, leaving a confused Y/N.
It had been already an hour after that. Loki sat silently in his room, staring at a blank wall as he tried to take all of it in. This had to be a mistake...this couldn't be right...how the hell was he a frost giant? There were so many damn questions racing through his mind right now.
There was a knock on his door. He looked up and he opened the door, he was still processing everything, and he had almost forgotten about Y/N. “Yeah?”
"I've been looking for you like crazy." She says entering his room.
Loki raised an eyebrow “Looking for me? I think you’re being a little dramatic” he says casually, although his voice cracked slightly from the stress of everything that was going through his mind.
"Me? Dramatic? You're the one who left me alone and was being mysterious and all." Y/N says.
He was angry and confused at everything that happened with him “What the hell is your goddamn problem? It isn’t like I left you for days or something, why are you so worried?”
“Because I care about you.”
Loki scoffs and glares down at her, he was feeling more and more pissed off “Did you not understand me the first damn time? I just needed some time to myself, is that so goddamn hard for you to understand?”
"Your brother have just been banished and you left gods knows where. Are you really complaining about me being worried about you?" She was not believing the way he was acting.
He rolls his eyes and sighs, closing it for a few seconds before opening them again. “Do you think that right now I want your goddamn sympathy? No! I want to be left alone! Alone with my thoughts. Don’t you get it?”
Y/N took a step back “Is that what you really want? To be alone?”
“Yes! That’s what I want! Can you not take the damn hint?!” Loki yells at her, taking a step forward and clenching his fists as he did.
“Do I annoy you that much?” She asks almost in a whisper.
Loki glares at her “Yes! You do! You annoy the hell out of me!” He yells, he had never said something like that to her before and it really caught her off guard.
Y/N keeps looking at him "Okay...I won't 'annoy' you anymore...or ever again" She took out the bracelet Loki had gifted her when they started dating and put on his desk, before she turns and left him alone "I'm ending this."
That hit Loki like cold water. He was shocked when Y/N placed the bracelet that he had gifted her on the desk. But when she said that she was ‘ending this’ and then started to walk out, he quickly ran after her “Wait! Wait!” he yelled, trying desperately to get her attention. But she didn’t stop, she kept walking away, with tears on her face now.
Loki runs up to her and grabs her wrist gently and stops her from going “Wait! Please wait! Just hear me out! I’m sorry, I’m so sorry! I…” Y/N just shakes her head, crying. Loki feels guilty, he didn’t really mean what he said. He was just overwhelmed and stressed out from everything. he was still trying to control his emotions “I didn’t mean it…I swear…” Loki sighs heavily as he wipes away her tears “I’m just confused right now. I’m sorry about what I said. Please don’t end this over what I said, I was just emotional. I didn’t mean any of it. Please don’t end this…”
“Why did you say it?” She asks him in a whisper, tears still running down her face.
Loki sighs once again and doesn’t speak for a few seconds “I don’t know why I did…I was stressed out and confused. I had no idea what to do, and my emotions just exploded. So…I’m sorry…I really am…”
Y/N tries to wipe the tears, but more came "I need you to be honest with me."
Loki nods, still glancing away from her to the side. He then spoke quietly, as to avoid choking up or his voice faltering, he was still trying desperately not to cry “I will…”
“Do you love me?”
He sighs and looks back up at her “Yes…I love you so much. And I’m an idiot for just saying all those things to you without properly assessing my own emotions…”
"What happened?" She asks softly.
Loki pauses for a few seconds before speaking. “Well…to make a long story short, i found out about my true heritage...I’m not an Asgardian…” He could see the confusion on her face “I’m a…frost giant.”
Y/N’s eyes widen in shock for a second before she looks down at her feet. A few seconds passed, in a silence that was making Loki more anxious than ever. “I don’t care.” She finally says.
He was a bit surprised that Y/N didn’t take the news horribly. He was waiting for her to call him a monster, say she never want to see him again...but she was actually alright with him being a frost giant. “You’re just…fine with this? Most people would be terrified of me now.”
"Well, I'm not most people, Loki. I'm the person who stays with the little boy who cried when his father was mean. I'm the person who was always by your side. I’m the person who loves you.”
Loki was stunned, hearing her say that made his heart melt and some tears fall off his eyes. He never knew he was going to find someone like her. “Thank you...thank you for being here for me..." Loki couldn't help himself, he pulled her close and kissed her. Y/N smiles into the kiss, not expecting it at all. She wraps her arms around him, embracing the kiss. She felt comfortable in his arms once again and she felt happy.
"Don't you ever say anything like that to me again. Or I swear I will break things up for good."
Loki couldn’t help but smile when she said that. She wasn’t leaving him after all, and she still loved him. So, he nodded and spoke softly “I won’t. I promise…” Y/N had tried her best to keep Loki sane after all of these events, but he was too angry. After the events that succeed, Y/N had cried a lot when Thor told her he had die in the Bifrost.
But then, imagine her surprise when Thor came telling her that Loki was on Midgard, trying to dominate the planet with an army. Y/N was in shock when she heard that. She wasn’t quite sure how to feel. On one hand, she was happy to hear that he was still alive but on the other, she wasn’t excited about him being on Midgard. The thought of him trying to take over the planet worried her.
Thor took her there with him, thinking that maybe she could get him to stop if the moment came. She hadn't seen him until the final fight in the Stark tower, when she walked to him with her armor and her sword in hand, like Thor had requested her. Loki had his back to her "Loki?"
Loki heard his name being called but he continued to gaze out at the destruction behind him that he had left in his path. He didn’t turn to face her, and his voice had a hint of a cold indifference in it “…what do you want?”
She looks at the image in front of him "That's not you."
He continued to stare out into the destruction and chaos he had left. He knew she was right. He wasn’t himself, he was a completely different version now. One that was angry, manipulative, cunning and cold “I’m fine. I don’t see what the big deal is…”
Y/N walked closer to him, putting her sword on the ground and using that hand to hold his shoulder “Loki...” His cold gaze finally turned to face her, though his expression remained the same, unchanging and uncaring. When she put her hand on his shoulder, he immediately flinched a little bit because of the sudden touch. “That’s not you.” She said again.
Loki didn’t say anything for a few seconds. He was silent, his face gave away little to no emotion “I’m no longer the person I was before…I’ve changed…and I’ve learned much…and I’ve become so much more…”
She reached for his face slowly, and Loki was caught a bit off guard when she put her hand on his face, but he didn’t flinch or move his face away from her. He noticed that she was still wearing the bracelet he gifted her as well.
"Give up this madness dream. Come home with me." She says softly, her hand caressing his face.
Loki was silent for a few seconds as he stared at her. Then he finally spoke, his voice now had a slight hint of anger in it “I *will* have my revenge. Nothing...no one will stop me…”
"Please, Loki. I know the man I love is still in there." She says with tears on her eyes. She didn’t know if she would be able to fight him if it was necessary.
His anger immediately disappeared when she started to cry. Seeing her tears only reminded him of all of the times she had stood by him, through thick and thin. She was always there for him, he couldn’t just abandon her again. So, he pulled her close and hugged her tightly, still not saying anything and just simply holding her close.
Y/N return his hug "I know something must happen to you...but please, stop it."
Loki continues to hug her and just holds her close for a few seconds. He didn’t want her to know his traumatic past, at least not yet. So instead, he spoke softly “You’re right…something did happen…I can’t tell you…”
"It's okay. Just stop this attack and come home...I'll protect you."
Loki was now on the verge of crying when she said that. But she had told him she would protect him, and he was so desperate for that right now. He didn’t want to be alone anymore. So, he spoke softly “Please…I need you.”
He stopped the attack and end up fighting alongside the Avengers. Thor, Loki and Y/N went back home. Y/N and Thor talked with Odin and convinced him that Loki help them in the end, so he wouldn’t send him to a cell.
Loki was now back at Asgard, where everything slowly became normal once again. However, he was still slightly traumatized by what had happened and was still suffering from the PTSD that he had acquired after the torture. The two of them were still together and he felt relieved that he didn’t lose her. Loki struggled a lot with his nightmares, which were getting worse every night. Whenever they hit, he would wake up in a cold sweat, his heart beating out his chest and he would usually be crying. Y/N would be next to him every time, holding him gently and speaking softly, trying to comfort him when he woke up. He felt very weak and helpless during these moments, and he was glad he had her with him.
That night Loki also woke up with his nightmares, running to the bathroom to throw up. Loki was already on his knees, hugging the toilet and throwing up, his tears streaming down his face. Any second now he would begin hyperventilating, as was typical for how these nightmares would usually go for him. Y/N woke up and walked to the bathroom, holding his hair back. He immediately calmed down a bit and took a deep breath. Hearing her voice and feeling her touch made things more bearable.
Loki was still shaking a bit when he finally finished throwing up, so Y/N hugged him tightly as they sit on the bathroom’s floor. His body was shaking almost uncontrollably, and he was trying not to hyperventilate. His breath was shaky, and his chest was rising and falling rapidly as he tried to control himself. But when she hugged him, he stopped for a few seconds and then he hugged her back, burying his head into her shoulder and holding her tight.
"You know you'll have to talk about this some time, Loki..." She says softly.
Loki sniffled and held her a bit tighter for a few seconds before he finally spoke softly. His voice sounded choked up and shaky and he was still trying to stop himself from crying. “I know...I just...not yet.”
“I hate to see you like that.” Y/N says while she brushes his hair away from his face.
He nodded his head, still holding her tightly “I know…I know that I need to talk about it…it’s just…I don’t know if I can….I just…” it was clear that he didn’t know how to speak about it. He simply couldn’t bear to relive what had happened to him.
"Do you want me to...see it?"
Loki flinches, the prospect of her seeing his memories was terrifying for him. He didn’t want anyone to see what he had gone through, least of all someone who he loved so deeply. So, he shook his head.
"Loki, you need to let it out. He can't hurt you anymore."
He takes a few seconds before speaking again. He was still on the verge of tears, and he was shaking quite a bit. He understood the importance of talking about it, but he could barely even bring himself to speak about it “I know…I know that it will help…but I’m just…I’m just scared…so scared…”
"I'm here with you." She says "I'll always be here with you."
Loki sniffled and he hugged her back tightly. Hearing her say that she would always be there for him gave him a bit of strength, and he tightened his grip on her as if to show his appreciation and gratitude. He slowly let out a breath and his tears began to subside. “I know…I know you will be…”
She starts brushing his hair, close to his forehead "Can I?"
Loki was a bit hesitant at first, he wasn’t sure about her entering his mind and reliving the trauma with him. He hated the idea of possibly putting her through that…but he felt so weak and so helpless, and she offered. So, he eventually nodded.
So she did it. She could see the memories when he let her enter. She was gently around his mind when she starts seeing the fight with Thor at the Bifrost, when he let it go. She saw all the torture he endured from the mad titan and everything that happened with him. She could feel his pain and she could understand why he was so reluctant to talk about it. It was a horrible realization but now she knew the extent of the abuse he endured while under the mercy of Thanos.
When she came back, she was crying. Loki noticed that she was crying, and he looked up at her with a concerned expression. “A-are you okay...?”
Y/N shook her head. "No, Loki. I'm sorry you have been through all of that." She hugs him so tightly.
Loki was still silent for a few seconds as he simply hugged her tightly and buried his head in her shoulder again. He didn’t know quite what to say, he just wanted to forget about what had happened. Especially now when having to think back on it all. When she hugged him back, he started to squeeze her even tighter, as if seeking comfort and trying to remind himself that the pain was now gone. He didn’t want to relive it ever again.
"You'll never go through that ever again. I'll protect you, I swear."
Loki wanted to believe her so much. Having her to protect him was a great comfort for him and a great relief. He was so vulnerable right now, scared to ever face anything like that again. Hearing that he would never go through that again was extremely reassuring to him. He kept hugging her and didn’t want to let go. “You promise?”
“I promise.”
Loki was getting better after a couple of months. He still had some nightmares, but not as often as before. Thanks to Y/N being by his side, he had started to sleep a little more soundly than before. His nightmares had gone from multiple times a week to only once a week, which was an achievement in his eyes. He didn’t feel as scared to sleep anymore and he was thankful for that. Especially because he knew his girlfriend was right by his side, ready to help him out whenever he needed it.
After six months, Loki was finally getting better. His nightmares were now happening rarely instead of occasionally. He still had them from time to time, but they were now much more manageable. He still had a lot of healing to do, but this was definitely progress.
With each day that passed and each night that went by, Loki just continued to think about how much he loved his girlfriend. She was always by his side, and she always managed to comfort him whenever he needed it. She supported him through everything, and she understood him like no one else did. It was only natural that he started to think about marriage. He didn’t necessarily know if she thought the same, but the thought hadn’t left him for a while now.
"What you're thinking about?" Y/N asks as she notices he was not paying attention to the book on his hands.
Loki was still lost in thought, thinking about the prospect of marriage. He hadn’t realized that he had stopped paying attention to the book he had in his hands, as he had simply been staring blankly at it. But then she asked him a question and snapped him out of his thoughts. “Nothing…just…nothing…”
Y/N chuckles “It doesn’t look like nothing.”
He also chuckled a bit and then said “Okay, maybe it was something….”
"Are you gonna tell me?" She sits closer to him.
Loki was silent for a few seconds and then he finally spoke softly “I was just…thinking about something…about us…?”
"Should I worry about this?" Y/N says with a playful smile.
“Not necessarily…I was just thinking about…what if we took our relationship to the next level…you know…”
“Like how?”
“…like…getting married?” Loki spoke carefully and anxiously as he said this, he was wondering what her reaction would be.
Y/N smiles softly at him* "Are you serious?"
Loki nodded and spoke softly “Yes….I’ve been thinking about it for a while now….and I wanted to know what you think….”
“I wouldn’t be opposite of the idea.” Loki’s heart started to beat rapidly as she said that. “Can you imagine us, married and with a mini you running around?" Loki blushed and smiled, imagining the scenario was a bit adorable.
He could just imagine the two of them with their child, living happily ever after. Loki liked that idea…very much. It felt so innocent and so pure, something that he had wanted for so long. And there was no way he would ever let go of it, not ever. “That would be so perfect…our own little family…”
Y/N smiled at the thought “Yeah...”
Loki smiled back at her, and he wanted to say something else. But he still felt a bit anxious, he still felt like it wasn’t set in stone just yet “So…you’re really saying yes…? Like…definitely, yes…?”
"I don't know...make the proposal." She chuckles. Loki smirked at her response and then thought to himself. He was definitely going to propose to her soon, that was for sure.  So he started to hatch out a plan for the perfect proposal he would want. Once he had that all figured out, the only thing that would be left was to execute it.
Days had passed and Loki had been waiting for the right moment. And after a week of waiting, he got that perfect moment. He found her alone in her room and he knew that now was his chance to do it.
“Hey.” Y/N smiled as he entered her room.
“Hey…” Loki smiles back at her. He feels the rush of adrenaline as he finally has his chance. This is the moment he’s been waiting for. So, he speaks confidently as he approaches her “I want to ask you something….”
“Sure.”
Loki takes a deep breath and steadies his voice, trying to sound as confident and sure as he could when speaking. “You know how a few weeks ago I brought up marriage…?” She nods at him. Loki nods too and gets on one knee, making Y/N smiles. There was a hint of nervousness in his voice, but he managed to keep it steady, and he spoke confidently. “I want to make you mine…completely…and I would like for you to do the same…will you marry me..?”
“Yes, Loki. Yes!” She hugs him.
He breathed a sigh of relief as she said yes. He was so excited and happy right now, he was over the moon. He smiled back at her and then he spoke softly. “Then…will you please take this, as a sign of my love?” Loki holds up the ring, waiting for her to accept it.
Y/N gave him her hand so he could put the ring on her. “It’s beautiful.”
Loki was absolutely overjoyed. It was one of the most perfect moments of his entire life. All his work in planning the proposal payed off. And seeing her accept the ring, his mother's ring, was the cherry on top. Loki was just so relieved and so happy, he was beaming with joy. "It used to be my mother's...I wanted you to have it..."
“Thank you.” She smiles before she kisses him.
He smiled back at her when he breaks the kiss, the entire moment was like a dream come true. He was so overjoyed that he almost couldn't keep his cool. This was the perfect moment. So he took her hand again and squeezed it softly. "I love you..."
“I love you too.”
A few months after, the royal wedding happened in Asgard. It was a beautiful wedding. A true fairy tale wedding. Loki and Y/N had finally married. The prince of Asgard had found true love and married his princess. Loki was happier than ever, with the woman he loved the most besides him. This was his happy ending, this was his happily ever after.
Five months after the wedding, Y/N started not feeling well. She usually woke up throwing up.
Loki was still asleep beside her when he suddenly woke up to the sound of her vomiting. He immediately jumped out of bed and went over to her. “A-Y/N…?
“Hm?” She had her eyes closed as another wave of nausea hit her.
Loki was now in distress and panic. He was getting worried as he tried to keep his cool and not let her know his real feelings yet. “A-are you okay..? You’ve been vomiting for a few days now….” He was so concerned about her at this point.
"I don't know, maybe it's something I eat?" She felt the nausea passing and open her eyes to look at him.
Loki still looked worried and concerned, he wasn’t quite buying her excuse. It didn’t make sense to him “But it’s been four days in a row…don’t you think that’s concerning a little?”
"I'll see a healer later if that's makes you feel better." She smiles at him.
He wasn’t reassured, he was still concerned about her. But he decided to not press the issue further for now “Okay…just promise me you’ll see one as soon as possible…”
Y/N nods and later that day, she went to the healer. When she got back to their room, she had a small box in her hand.
“What’s in that box…?” Loki was waiting for her back in the room.
"Oh, it's a present for you." She smiles handling him the box. "Open in.”
Loki’s nervous look remained on his face as he slowly took the box from her, not knowing what may be in there. But he then opened it and his eyes widened when he saw what was inside. His heart raced as he saw that it was a small pair of shoes. “What….are these…?”
"I don't know, Loki. What are these?" She asks him smiling.
“They look like…baby shoes…” Loki’s heart races as he realizes what she is implying. He didn’t even want to believe it. But then he spoke, and his tone was shaky. “Are you…”
Loki was speechless. It was official now; he was going to be a father. He was so happy, he felt so many different emotions rushing through him right now, but the main one was pure joy. “I’m going to be a dad…?”
"You're going to be a dad." Y/N spoke softly before she kissed her husband.
Nine months later, Y/N gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Loki was overjoyed about it. Holding the baby boy in his arms felt like a dream come true. His life would never be the same after this, everything would be different. And it was for the better. This child would be the most important thing to him, there would be nothing that would compare to this precious baby. He kissed him on the forehead, smiling as he did so.
Loki was the best father ever to his son. He was everything Odin never was to him. Loki made sure the child had everything he could ever want or need. He made sure his childhood would be beautiful and happy and he made sure he gave him everything he never had. He made sure to give him all the love he had to offer to his precious son. He spent a great majority of his time with him. And Y/N made sure she took good care of him as well. She made sure to teach him about love and everything he needed to know about the world. It was a beautiful sight.
A year later, close to their son first birthday, Y/N had found out she was pregnant again. But this time, she was better prepared to make a surprise to Loki.
He had just put the baby to sleep and came back to their room. “I have a surprise for you.” Y/N said softly. She gave him a present box. "Open in.”
Loki open the box and just looked at the shirt in a bit of confusion. It said 'Daddy’s girl’ when they had a son. “Uh…? Did you buy this by mistake…?” Y/N shakes her head ‘no’. Loki was still quite confused. Why did she buy a ‘daddy’s girl’ shirt? They had a son, not a daughter. So, it made no sense for her to buy that. “Then why did you get it…?”
"Because our daughter will need it." Y/N was holding back her smile seeing Loki’s confusion.
He immediately tensed up at the word ‘daughter’ and realized what she was implying. Their daughter. She was implying that they were going to have a second child. He just couldn’t believe it. He couldn’t believe that it was really happening. Loki was overwhelmed with emotions, and it showed on his face. His mouth dropped open as he spoke softly. “Our daughter..?”
Y/N nods, making Loki’s heart raced and his breathing quickened as he realized the good news. His smile became so wide that he even felt his cheeks ache. He was going to be a father again? That was an overwhelming thought and he loved it. The happiness he felt was overwhelming. “We’re going to have a daughter…?” He finally asked. She nods again, a few tears escaping her eyes.
Loki was filled with so many emotions right now that he just embraced her in a tight and loving hug. He held her close to him, smiling as he did so. Loki’s happiness was palpable at this point. He couldn’t believe that he was going to be a father again. He just couldn’t. And it was so unbelievable that he almost couldn’t accept it just yet. But as he held his wife close to him, he embraced the idea of having another child.
They had some hard months ahead. Thor had given up the throne, so Loki was next in line to be king now. And a few more months, another baby, a beautiful and healthy baby girl, was born. Loki felt like he was on a cloud, he just couldn’t believe how his life was working out so well for him. With a gorgeous wife and two beautiful children, life couldn’t get any better.
He was truly overjoyed and grateful. His life was filled with nothing but love and blessings. There was nothing left that he could possibly ask for now. With two beautiful children, the best wife in the world, a kingdom to rule one day. Things couldn’t be better. And as he looked down at his babygirl, he thought about all of this. He loved his life, he loved being a father and he loved his family. And this was more than just a passing thought, this was his life. His happy, fulfilling, life.

I miss kissing. The feel of their plush lips. The warmth that builds between us. The way they run their hands up and over my curves, stoping to hold the back of my neck or thighs. I miss the kind of kissing that gets incredibly heated fast; a simple peck that leads to our tongues fighting for dominance. I miss the soft kind of kissing. I miss all kinds of kiss. I just miss kissing.

Loki & Kisses.
Tumblr media
Pairing: Loki x G/N reader.
Warnings: Kisses, touching, dirty talk, no use of Y/N, gender neutral reader, reader not described, reassurance, Loki (Yes Loki is a warning, he's hot, and sweet, and perfect.), fluffy, leaning on smut, established relationship, use of pet names (Darling, Love, Sweetness, ect.), biting, (light) choking, suggestive ending, silly little head canons, praise, Loki is sweet, kinda a drabble,
These are some of my head canons for Loki revolving around kisses/kissing. The second section is where things start getting more... spicy...?
Tumblr media
Although he'd never admit it, Loki loves to kiss you. Everywhere. All the time.
Loki likes to sneak up on you, walking behind you and wrapping his arms around you, placing soft pecks on your shoulder blades and neck.
He'll mutter sweet words to you as his soft lips shower you in affection
"You're so perfect, Darling."
"Taste so sweet."
"You're my favorite."
"Miss you all the time, Love."
It doesn't matter if you're shorter, taller, or the same height as Loki, he'll find a way to rest his chin on your head or shoulders...He can shapeshift, after all.
Loki loves forehead and chin kisses, giving and receiving.
He likes to pepper your face in kisses, especially when you lay on the couch together, which puts him at the perfect angle to attack you with soft lips.
If you're wearing something (or nothing) that shows your shoulders, Loki pounces.
He'll wrap one arm around your waist, the other hand rubbing your shoulder as he kisses it.
The shoulder kisses usually evolve into love bites.
Loki will gently press his teeth into your shoulder, not enough to hurt, but enough to leave a small mark, one he'll skim with his lips throughout the day, and possibly the night.
Hand kisses are another favorite.
Loki will take your hand, pressing his lips to each knuckle, murmuring about how much he loves you as he does so.
"My angel."
"I love, sweetness."
"You're everything to me."
He'll turn your hand over, so your palm is facing up, and will press his lips to the big vein under your wrist.
Loki will move from your wrist, to your palm, peppering chaste kisses to every inch of it.
Then he'll kiss the tips of your fingers.
He secretly loves it when you kiss his hands.
Loki likes to pull you onto his lap, he doesn't care if you're bigger or smaller than him, he does it anyway.
If you're ever insecure or worried when you're on his lap, Loki will do everything in his power to rid you of those thoughts.
"Hush, Darling, you're perfect."
"I like having you on me, you're like my own life sized Teddie bear."
"But you fit into my lap so perfectly."
"I'm a god, Love, you're like having a kitten on my legs, relax."
"But you're so warm, don't go."
When you're on his lap is his favorite time to kiss you.
Loki will wrap his hand around your chin, gently pulling your face towards his, pressing his forehead against yours before joining your lips.
No matter what, it doesn't matter what he's eaten, or had to eat, or anything, Loki always tastes like a mix of mint and the way pine trees smell. It's strange, but nice.
Loki's kisses start out gently and soft, never wanting to make you feel uncomfortable or pressured.
He holds your face in his hand, the other resting on your knee, rubbing small, affectionate designs on your skin.
Loki will always follow your lead.
If you keep the kiss slow and soft, affectionate and innocent, he'll work with that, pouring his love into your lips through gentle kisses.
He'll just have to ignore his boner want for more.
He's gotten good at that.
Tumblr media
But, if you decide to press forward, putting more heat into the kiss, Loki will happily oblige.
Loki moves his hand a little higher up your leg, gently squeezing your mid/lower thigh.
He'll swipe his skilled tongue across your lips, a warning before he dips his tongue into your mouth, pressing against yours.
Loki will gently push you down onto your back, a growl leaving him as he climbs over your body, his lips crashing with yours non-stop.
"Fuckin' perfect."
"Look so good under me,"
"You taste so good, Darling."
Loki never fails to praise you.
Even if it's not a turn on for you, it definitely is for him.
He'll grip your cheek with one hand, gently holding you in place as he assaults your mouth with kisses and nips (although he doesn't hold you so tight you can't move away, he never would, he doesn't want to hurt you. Ever.)
Speaking of that, Loki's lustful love bites don't stop at your shoulders.
Loki gently bites on your bottom lip, pulling back slightly, sucking on your lip before going back to kissing you.
The hand that isn't holding your face, runs up your body, his slender fingers wrapping around your neck, barely squeezing the sides every now and again. Never enough to hurt you.
Loki will keep you on your toes, randomly squeezing your neck or biting your lip.
He knows that unfortunately, even though he never wants to stop kissing your perfect lips, you do need to breathe. Bummer.
His lips will hesitantly leave yours, but will never leave you.
Loki will travel his kisses to your jaw, biting and sucking at your skin, going for all your sensitive spots.
"Wanna make you scream for me, Love."
Loki loves his dirty talk. So do you.
"Gonna worship you."
Loki isn't lying when he says that– He takes his sweet time.
Loki will move from your jaw to your neck, resting his tongue flat against the hollow of your throat, then licking a strip up to your chin.
"Taste so sweet."
He'll suck, bite, kiss, and lick your neck, never leaving one spot untouched, unappreciated.
"Gods, Darling, you are incredible."
Somehow, you're usually not entirely sure when, your shirt came off.
Now, Loki is sucking on one of his many love bites on your shoulder from earlier.
"Divinity in itself,"
Loki's praises never cease as he starts to kiss your sternum, his hand still occasionally squeezing your neck, often in time with small bites.
"I love you so much, sweet thing."
Loki will kiss and nip his way down your stomach from your abdomen, looking you in the eyes as he makes his way towards his prize, pulling your pants down your body.
"Valhalla..."

His Color
Pairing: Loki x fem!reader (no y/n used)
Summary: After a conversation with a certain god of mischief leads to a bold claim that he owns the color green, the reader puts it to the test with her very own green dress. And when he finally sees her in said dress… months of flirtatious comments and sexual tension may finally reach a breaking point. (This was inspired loosely by the song “Green Green Dress” from tick, tick boom, specifically the bonus track version because it is *chefs kiss*)
Warnings and such: swearing, potential future smut, sexual tension, sexual themes, potentially some slight angst, this is one of those “everyone’s alive and living together” AU’s, other characters have cameos, i tried to keep the readers description vague so she’d fit everyone, let me know if i missed anything!

Mornings at the Avengers compound tended to be slow and quiet, the normally hyperactive heroes catching up on as much greatly deserved sleep as they possibly could. On a normal morning, only a handful of the team could even be found out of bed before 7 o’clock, but for some reason a certain hero in training sits with her coffee at the bar top of an empty kitchen. She sips silently, sitting with only the rising sun as her light as she attempts to wake her fuzzy mind. She doesn’t expect anyone to stumble into the kitchen at this hour, which is why when a hand lands gently on her shoulder, a startled yelp leaves her lips. She whips around quickly, coffee forgotten on the counter as she readies herself to fight this unknown enemy in the early morning light. Instead of a dangerous enemy, she meets the green eyes of the equally dangerous god of mischief.
“Shit Loki, you scared me half to death.” She sighs out tiredly, turning back to her coffee as the raven haired male makes his way around the bar to get his own coffee, a proud smirk on his lips.
“Yes, I see that.” He chuckles and turns to face her, leaning back against the kitchen counter next to the coffee maker as he waits for his cup to brew. “And what exactly are you doing up at this hour?”
“I could ask you the same question.” She quips back, a tired smirk making its way onto her face as well. The way they fall into easy banter so quickly used to startle her, but after so many months of it, it's almost become a routine between the two of them. Loki hums and picks up his mug without turning his attention away from her.
“You could, but I asked you first.” She rolls her eyes and huffs in fake annoyance at his childish response.
“Couldn’t sleep anymore. I have a lot on my mind.” She responds simply before bringing the mug back to her lips. Loki nods in understanding, and she has to fight a loving smile when he doesn’t push her to explain. That’s one of the many things she’s grown to like (love?) about Loki; he doesn’t pry about personal matters. He knows that she would share if she wanted to.
“Are you looking forward to Stark’s little gathering tomorrow?” He redirects the conversation easily as he walks back around the bar and takes the stool beside her. She fights the urge to groan and instead settles for another sigh.
“I forgot about that… I don’t have anything to wear.” She complains and lowers her head to rest it on the cool bar top. Loki chuckles and shakes his head in response to her dramatics.
“Nothing? I find that hard to believe.”
She huffs and raises her head. “This isn’t just any gathering, Loki. This is Stark's annual charity banquet. Practically all of New York is going to be there. So yes, I have nothing to wear.” She nearly cries when she realizes she’ll have to go shopping, her early morning brain incapable of imagining the stressful scenario that is dress shopping in busy New York City. The young hero goes silent as she thinks about what kind of styles or colors she might want, but she quickly loses her train of thought when she sees Loki watching her. There’s an unreadable but strong emotion in his emerald eyes, and it almost sends a shiver down her spine.
“What?” She asks self consciously, and the god only shakes his head with a small smile.
“Nothing. What are you thinking about?” His quick redirection causes her to narrow her eyes, but she goes along with the new flow of conversation.
“What I’m going to buy for this stupid thing.” Her normal style wouldn’t work for such a high end gathering, and seeing as this would be her first year attending, she didn’t even know where to begin finding an outfit. “I’d normally wear something safe like a black dress, or maybe something red if I was feeling bold, but that feels so… basic. Like easy options. And this thing is basically Stark’s version of the Met Gala so I can’t go with the basics.”
Loki nods along as the girl beside him rants, before ultimately shrugging his shoulders. “I’m sure you’ll figure it out. Once you find your perfect color-” he gestures down at his emerald green sweater, “-you’ll find it’s much easier picking outfits.” He chuckles softly, and she narrows her eyes at him.
“Well maybe I’ll wear green.” She states, crossing her arms over her chest in a playful defiance. “You don’t own the color, you know?”
Loki scoffs and places a hand over his own chest, almost as if in indignation at her statement. “Darling, when you look as good in it as I do, you do in fact own it.” His signature smirk takes up residence on his face again, and she tries not to pay too much attention to the way her cheeks heat up at the pet name.
“Oh please. You’ll see.” She smiles confidently and raises her chin. “We’ll find out who green really belongs to tomorrow night.” His eyes narrow at her this time as he weighs the unspoken challenge in his mind.
“Yes, I suppose we will.” He stands from his stool and lowers his head in a quick bow. “Until then.” He lifts his head and meets her eyes with a mischievous grin before turning smoothly and gliding away. She has to fan her face to calm the rising heat on her cheeks and neck, but she smiles down at her coffee with renewed vigor. With a point to prove and a god to awe, she thought that perhaps this shopping trip wouldn’t be as dreadful as she feared.
**********************
The night of Stark’s charity banquet approached rather quickly, and as Loki stood in front of his mirror making sure all the pieces of his suit were in place, he couldn’t help but think about the early morning chat he’d had with the young trainee. He felt excitement rush through him at the thought of her, and he quickly replaced the dopey smile on his face with a confident smirk.
“None of that.” He told himself, as if his feelings were ever something that tended to listen to him. After fixing up the final touches of his suit and incredibly flattering corset vest, he brushes back his hair with a smug smirk before making his way out of his room and to the elevator that’s already filled with finely dressed Avengers. His eyes quickly scan the group of people for the girl that has taken over his thoughts, but instead he only finds various residents of the compound, some of which shift further away when he enters the small space. Loki lets out an exasperated sigh and leans against the far wall of the elevator, where he also sees a familiar super-soldier assassin. “Good evening Sergeant Barnes.”
The man looks up at Loki at the call of his name and greets him with a tired smile. “Good evening,” Bucky responds in his deep rumbly voice, fidgeting absentmindedly with the end of his left sleeve and the leather glove covering his metal hand. “Surprised to see you’re going to this thing.”
Loki chuckles and nods. “I wasn’t sure I was going to,” is his simple reply.
“Well, what changed?”
The god tilts his head as he thinks of an answer, the only one he seemingly can conjure up consisting of someone’s bright flirtatious smile, beautiful eyes, and the promise of seeing her in his color.
“Thought it might be good for my image. To be seen around, socializing, being a generally good samaritan.” Although his answer was somewhat truthful, it was not the real reason he was going, nor was it something he really cared about all that much. “What about you? I did not imagine I’d be seeing you at any social gathering this large either.”
The ex-assassin nods and clears his throat, his blue eyes filled with sincerity when they meet Loki’s green ones. “Same reason as you, I guess…”
Loki nods in understanding, feeling sympathy for the broken man standing beside him. “Well, I wish you a successful evening.” He responds as the elevator doors slide open and he begins to make his way out into the beautifully decorated ballroom. He nearly rolls his eyes, because of course Stark built a ballroom in this compound.
“Yeah, you too.” Bucky claps the god on the shoulder before offering him a tight smile and making his way over to the large bar in the corner of the massive room.
Loki begins scanning the expansive space, telling himself he’s only taking in the white and gold decorations and the balcony that’s already beginning to fill with people, but he knows that he’s really looking for her. He begins to walk along the edge of the dance floor where more tables are situated for guests, taking in the band that’s setting up on the stage at the end of the empty floor and the steadily growing noise of the guests chattering away. A buzzing headache begins to form in his temples, and Loki suppresses a groan. He wishes she’d just show up already to ease the pain like she always does, and a startled huff leaves his lips.
“I need a drink.” He mumbles to himself before making his way to the bar and leaning against the counter. “Red wine.” Midgardian alcohol did not affect him in the slightest, but he had found he quite liked the taste of it after a late night draining a bottle with her on the roof of the compound. Ever since then, he had imagined what her lips would have tasted like with the wine lingering on them.
“Here you are sir.” The bartender hands him the glass, startling him out of his rapidly spiraling train of thought. Loki shakes his head as if to clear the thought away and takes a large sip of his drink, his eyes beginning to once again search for her.
Several glasses and many awkward attempts at conversation later, and Loki feels himself becoming increasingly more frustrated at her lack of attendance. He thinks that maybe she could not find a suitable outfit for the challenge and decided to just bail, but that thought causes a sting in his heart. No, he thinks. She wouldn’t abandon me like that.
The band begins to play a slow, sultry waltz and Loki turns to the bartender to order his sixth glass of wine. It is at this moment, with his back turned to the entrance that he hears a call of her name accompanied with a loud whistle from Sam Wilson.
“My lady! You look absolutely stunning!” Thor’s loud voice echoes through the ballroom, and every guest snaps their head in the direction of the noise. Unlike the hoards of people in the room, Loki takes his time turning his head to her, almost as if he’s preparing himself for the sight that awaits him. And when his eyes finally lock on her figure, he knows that no amount of time could have prepared him.
She walks into the ballroom gracefully, the silky emerald dress clinging to her body in the most flattering way, her curves being perfectly hugged by the soft fabric. A long slit in the skirt starting at the floor and ending at her upper thigh leaves little to the imagination and perfectly accentuates her leg. The emerald color of the dress matches his own signature green to perfection, and he has to focus on keeping the heat in his cheeks and the spark of pride that goes straight from his heart down to his groin at bay.
“Oh Norns…” Loki breathes out quietly. Her eyes search the crowd for him, and once she finds him a large, proud smirk falls upon her colored lips, lips that are the same color as the wine he so desperately wants to taste on them. She begins gliding towards him like some kind of seductive goddess, and despite his best efforts, he can’t seem to wipe the look of awe off of his face.
“Hello Loki.” Even her voice seems to draw him in, and she continues approaching until they’re standing toe to toe, only a breath apart. Her eyes scan him up and down, taking in the perfectly tailored black suit (although he’s beginning to worry that his trousers may be too tight) along with the cinched green corset vest.
“You look good.” She praises softly, another dangerous smirk accompanying her lips as she raises up on her tiptoes and whispers right by his ear, “I look better.”
And he couldn’t agree more, but for some reason, his normal witty remarks seem to be stuck in the back of his throat. He only watches her with unrestrained admiration like he’s looking at a beautiful work of art, before holding his hand palm up.
“Dance with me,” he manages to say in a steady voice, though it takes all of his willpower to do so. A bright, genuine smile lights up her face, one that nearly knocks him off his feet as she slides her hand into his.
“It would be my honor.” She giggles before turning and dragging him onto the dance floor, the sensual waltz still playing. She turns to face him again and raises a hand to rest it on his shoulder as he slowly slides his along her waist to rest it on her lower back. He takes her right hand in his left and begins gliding across the floor with her to the music. She lets out a nervous chuckle, and although she’s not a bad dancer, it’s clear she’s having a hard time keeping up with his well practiced steps.
“Sorry-” she starts to apologize, but she’s cut off by her own yelp of surprise when he wraps his arm tighter around her waist and lifts her up until her feet are standing on his toes. The two of them waltz effortlessly now, dancing across the floor so smoothly, it’s as if they are floating just above the ground.
“Better?” He asks softly, a joyful glint in his eyes. She nods in response, and looks up at him with the same bright smile. With their bodies pressed together, hand in hand, chest to chest, it’s almost as if their heartbeats become one, the rhythms intertwining with the sound of the band and the blossoming of a feeling so intense it makes Loki forget they are surrounded by people watching their every move.
“So… I win right?” The question pulls Loki out of his thoughts and he lets out a deep, genuine laugh, a sound so rare for him but one so commonly associated with her now.
“As much as I hate to admit it, I believe you did.” She smiles triumphantly and lets out a laugh of her own.
“I better have. This dress was ridiculously expensive.” He chuckles at her and shakes his head, his eyes once again scanning her figure and her features with a myriad of emotions in the deep green depths.
“My darling, it is not the dress that has won you this victory.” His eyes trail up to hers, pausing for a few moments too long on her wine red lips. She holds his gaze, her lips parting and her cheeks flushing at his comment. They fall into a silence as they stare at each other, the band beginning to play a different song but neither of them seem to notice. Loki stops waltzing, instead only swaying with her in his arms as his face leans closer to hers.
“You- I don’t-” She stammers over her words and laughs weakly at herself as they both move closer, the tips of their noses brushing against each other. Her eyelids are hooded as she breathes out, “I want to kiss you.”
That’s all it takes for Loki to press his lips firmly to hers, months of pining and desperate attempts at silent confessions pouring into the kiss. His arm tightens around her waist and her hand moves from his shoulder to his hair, tugging gently at the raven strands and pulling a growl from his throat. They kiss until she has to pull back for air, a happy giggle leaving her no longer perfectly painted lips.
“Took you long enough.” Loki finally opens his eyes at the statement and lets out a breathy laugh.
“Took me long enough? I feel as though I have been very apparent in my desires.” He quirks a brow at her and smirks, sure that there are marks of her lipstick on his lips and the thought makes his head spin.
She scoffs and rolls her eyes, using her thumb to wipe some of her lipstick from his bottom lip. “Sure you were.” He silently takes in her flushed cheeks and soft smile, studying her with a gentle love, but also with something much deeper, something more hungry.
“So, green’s mine now, right?” She tilts her head and smiles innocently at him. He chuckles darkly, his grip on her waist tightening as he presses her even tighter to his lithe figure.
“Oh hardly. Perhaps this was only an excuse to see you in my color.” He hums out in a low voice, and with the hand he has on her back he can feel the shiver that runs down her spine. “But… perhaps I could be persuaded to allow it to be our color, yes?”
“Persuaded how?” She asks, her voice barely above a whisper, but their close proximity allows Loki to hear her perfectly. He responds at first with another dark chuckle, moving so his lips are right by her ear in a way that mirrors what she did earlier as he responds in a deep whisper.
“I’ll show you.”

can you write something about Loki teaching reader's how to kiss, since it's the readers's first time and she really has no experience.
Yes. Yes I can.
Things kind of went of the rails with this one, but it's super cute and I'm very happy with it. It took forever so y'all better enjoy it
Summery: Over the course of many days, Loki peppers you with affection after affection. You're unused to this kind of attention from anyone, but you welcome it regardless.

It started with a kiss on the hand.
You'd taken it upon yourself to introduce Loki to the world of pop culture. In doing so, you'd practically dragged him to your rooms to watch the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Despite his valiant effort to remain aloof, he'd clearly enjoyed himself- enough so that he put up no resistance when you put on the second one.
"Shit, it's nearly one in the morning." You observed, tilting your phone's screen towards Loki so he could see the time as the movie's credits began to roll.
"I hadn't realized it'd gotten so late," He replied, standing and stretching. "I should get out of your hair."
"Yeah, I guess I should let you go." You agreed, a tinge of reluctance coloring your words. "I need my beauty sleep, anyway."
"As do I," Loki's eyes sparkled. "Thank you for tonight, I greatly enjoyed it."
"Thank you for giving me an excuse to watch those movies for the seventeenth time."
Loki chuckled and met your eyes. The quiet smile he gave you made your heart flutter. "I trust there will be more nights like this to look forward to?"
"Oh, oh! Yeah of course." You laughed a little, somewhat incredulous. You knew Loki liked you well enough, but you'd figured that his tolerance wouldn't extend to consistent movie nights. "I'll make you a list of must-sees."
"Excellent." He dipped his head, reaching for your hand. You gave it to him, partly on reflex. He brought it to his lips and presses a gentle kiss to your knuckles. He found your gaze; the way he looked at you over your hand made the gesture feel more than cordial.
Your throat had completely dried up, and you wouldn't have been surprised if your heart beat out of your chest. All you could do was smile weakly and hope blood was still flowing to your brain.
Loki released your hand and moved to leave. He had his hand on the door knob when he turned back to face you. "Next week, same time? Or perhaps it'd be better to start a bit earlier?" His eyes darted to the wall clock, watching as the seconds ticked away to one in the morning.
"Yeah," You croaked, then cleared your throat. "Yeah, that's probably a good idea."
Loki smiled, either completely unaware of the effect he was having on you, or choosing not to comment. "Then I bid you goodnight. I shall see you soon."
"'Night, Loki." You have me a little wave.
He gave you a shallow bow, and he was gone.
You fell back so you were sitting again on the couch, sleep the furthest thing from your mind.
You replayed the last minute over and over again, your thumb unconsciously passing back and forth over the place on your hand where Loki's lips had been mere moments ago.
. . .
Next, it was a kiss on the forehead.
It was one of those days where everything seemed to be going wrong. You'd spilled coffee on your favorite shirt, tripped and fallen on your face during your morning run, been late to a team meeting, and finally, you'd knocked a glass off the kitchen counter when Thor bumped into you.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" He exclaimed, quickly backing away from the shattered glass and puddle of orange juice. "Let me help-"
"No, it's fine." You gritted out, "I'll do it."
"Allow me." As if summoned, Loki slid into the room. He inclined his head to the mess at your feet, and as though he'd hit rewind on reality, the shards of glass and puddle of juice flew back to the counter. The cup reassembled itself, and the liquid settled back inside it. Loki took a dramatic sweeping bow, looking up at you with a little smirk, as if to say "Ta-da!"
"Excellent! Thank you, Loki." Thor pat his brother on the back as Loki righted himself. "All is well. Sorry about that, again." He said to you.
"No prob." You replied curtly, abandoning your drink and storming off.
Somehow, Loki’s little magic trick and his stupid arrogant smile made you even more frustrated. A day filled with insignificant inconveniences all piled on top of each other clawed at your back, making this latest one grate at you much more than it should’ve.
Finally, back in the peaceful solitude of you rooms, you were allowed a few fleeting hours of respite. Suddenly, someone was knocking at your door.
Loki stood before you in the doorway, his stupidly handsome features twisted into a look of concern. “You looked as though you needed space after the incident with the glass, but I wanted to check on you.”
“Of course I’m alright. Why wouldn’t I be after one of the more irritating days ever?” You rubbed your eyes with a groan.
“Do you need anything?” He asked quietly.
Loki’s expression shifted from worried to surprised as you sniffled pathetically, running your hand once more across your eyes to clear away your pooling tears. “I dunno,” You whimpered. “It’s just been a long day and I don’t even know why I’m crying. I’m sor-”
Without letting you get another word out, Loki collected you in his arms, pressing your face into his shoulder. He rubbed a hand soothingly up and down your back as he rocked on his feet, swaying gently with you.
“I understand what it’s like,” he murmured into your ear. “when small irritations seem like so much more after everything else has already gone wrong. You needn’t apologize, you can cry as much as you like. I’ve got you.”
You cried harder as Loki stepped you further into the room, barely registering the sound of the door closing magically. Neither of you knew how long you stood there for, but he never wavered as you sobbed into him.
When you finally looked up at him, you smiled weakly. “I think I’m all cried out. Thanks, Loki.”
He returned your smile with one of his own, smoothing his fingertips across your face to wipe away stray tears. “It’s my pleasure, love. I’m glad you’re feeling better. Is there anything you want to do? Anything I can do for you?”
You let him take your hands in his, trying to ignore how his thumbs gently brushing brushing over your knuckles were sending jolts of electricity through your body. “Can you... can you stay? We could have another movie night?”
Loki gently placed his lips on your forehead, pressing a kiss into the skin. “Your wish is my command. I would love nothing more.”
If he hadn’t been pressed against you and supporting you, you might’ve passed out on the spot.
. . .
You realized you had to so something when he kissed you on the cheek.
You, Clint, and Natasha had been called in for a mission overseas. You had no clue how long you’d be gone, but Nick Fury had estimated roughly a week when he’d briefed you.
“I don’t suppose you’d let me check in on you from time to time?” Loki stood with his hands in your pockets, an almost bashful look on his face as he bid you goodbye before you boarded the Quinjet. “I do have that cellular device for a reason. Perhaps you could send me a message or call me once in a while.”
“Worried about me, are we?” You teased, choosing to ignore your rapidly increasing heart rate.
“Honestly?” He rocked on his heels, inhaling heavily. “I fully trust that you, Barton, and Romanoff will have nothing but full control of the situation. I will just...” he hesitated, searching for the right words. “Well, I’ll miss you.”
Warmth spread from your chest to the tips of your toes. A wide grin forced its way onto your face as you pulled him in for a hug. “I’ll miss you, too.”
You stood there holding each other for longer than was perhaps socially acceptable. You tucked your face into the door of his neck, breathing him in. He smelled of parchment, pine needles, and a scent that so distinctly Loki you couldn’t describe it as anything else.
You finally pulled back, arms still thrown around his neck. “I’ll text you when we land, okay?”
“Please do.” Loki glanced over your shoulder, seeing Natasha on the Quinjet’s ramp, arms folded impatiently across her chest. “It’s probably time for you to go.”
You glanced over at Natasha and gave her a little wave. “Right. I’ll see you in a few days, then.”
Loki nodded, his mouth pressed into a tight line. He tugged nervously on his shirt sleeve, and nibbled on his lip. As if coming to a decision, he sighed, and suddenly leaned in to kiss your cheek. His lips lingered against your skin for several seconds, and yet, when he pulled away you found yourself thinking, ‘No, not yet.’
“I eagerly await your return.” He whispered, breath fanning across your face.
“Me too,” You breathed, your hand raising to the place he’d kissed you. You held his intense gaze, a million thoughts swarming through your head but none of them making it past your lips.
Natasha called your name, gesturing for you to hurry up. Ultimately deciding that you had nothing to loose at this point, you quickly kissed Loki on the cheek in return.
“Bye!” You hurried, waving as you jogged onto the Quinjet. Nat smirked at you as you climbed the ramp. “I don’t wanna hear it.” You hissed at her.
“I wasn’t going to say anything,” She insisted, though the gleam in her eye spoke volumes.
As the jet prepared to take off, you peered through the window. You saw Loki still standing just off the landing pad. The look on his face could only be described as smitten.
. . .
You were going insane.
Ever since you’d returned from your mission, Loki had been fluttering around you. He was constantly there, sharing meals with you, working out with you, and just simply hanging around you. You were far from annoyed by his persistent presence, though. You were going insane because he kept looking at you with the same blissful, soft expression he’d worn when you’d left- after you’d returned his kiss on the cheek. Every time he looked at you it felt like your brain was melting.
Even now, he hadn't hesitated to offer you his arm when walking you back to your rooms. You grappled for conversation topics just so you could focus on something other than the feeling of his defined bicep under your fingers, and the way his eyes kept finding your own.
"Do you still go for runs in the morning?" Loki asked innocently, stepping out of the elevator with you.
"Yeah, I usually leave around eight-ish. Why?"
"Perhaps I could join you tomorrow? You could show me a bit more of this city. I've yet to discover what it is that makes Midgardians worship it like they do."
You laughed at that, dropping his arm to slip off your shoes. "Honestly it's mostly the people that don't live in New York that romanticize it, but I'd love for you to join me. I probably wouldn't be able to keep up with you, though. You've got the same never-ending stamina as Steve and Bucky."
"It'd be your run, I will be a mere guest. I'm more than happy to take things at whatever pace you like."
"Then you're more than welcome to join me." You smiled at him, knocking a fist playfully against his arm. "But if I don't see you by eight, I'm leaving without you. I like to leave early so the good trails don't get too crowded."
"Understood." He nodded, and that seemed to be the end of the conversation. And yet, neither of you moved.
You opened your mouth to say more, but no words came out. Your throat completely dried up- you just kept gazing into his deep, lovely eyes.
Loki seemed to snap out of it first, inhaling sharply, and rocking on his heels. "I have another request, actually."
"What is it?" You asked quietly, noting that his behavior was oddly similar to when you were at the landing pad, about to board the Quinjet.
"I've been thinking about this for a while, and I've waited because I wanted to make sure we'd both feel the same way about it." He tugged at his sleeve, which you were starting to think may've been another nervous tic of his, along with the rocking.
"And now you're sure?"
"Now I'm certain." He agreed.
He leaned forward, slowly and steadily, as if worried he'd startle you. You didn't back down, but you felt your heartbeat quicken with every inch forward he claimed. He stopped a mere breath away from you, and you put a hand on his shoulder- you weren't sure whether on reflex or intentionally.
"May I kiss you?" He asked, his eyes flickering between your gaze and your lips.
Your fingers tightened around his shoulder, and you took a tiny step back. Barely enough to be considered retreating, but enough so that you felt like you could breathe again. You felt yourself smile, but continued to firmly hold Loki's gaze. "I haven't actually ever kissed anyone before."
His brows raised, and you could see the despair creeping into his eyes.
"It's not that I don't want to!" You quickly amended. "I do, I definitely want to kiss you, I just don't really know what to do."
Light returned to Loki as he shared your shy smile. "That's alright," he murmured, gently caressing your cheek. "I'm more than happy to take things at whatever pace you like."
You chuckled softly at his repeated words, reclaiming the step you took and leaning into his touch.
He place a gentle kiss on your cheek, then at the corner of your lips. He placed a hand under your chin, tilting your head up. "May I?"
You nodded, wetting your lips. "You're going to have to help me out, here."
He smiled at that. "Okay." Loki gently tilted your head to the side, leaning forward so his nose nearly slotted against yours. "Part your lips a little," He whispered.
You did so, staring unblinkingly at him. He was so close.
"Close your eyes?" It was a question, a suggestion. He was giving you the choice, and you felt your heart melt a little at that. He was letting you back out if you had to.
You closed your eyes, letting out a little breath of air. Your hand, still on his shoulder, relaxed and lay there gently.
When he kissed you, you just stood there at first. It took a moment for you to follow the movements of his lips, but you quickly caught on. Timidly, you kissed back, your hand traveling up into his beautiful hair as you grew more confident. He held you tightly to him, one arm encircling your body. He still cradled your face in the other hand, as though you were glass.
You pulled back, lashes fluttering as you gazed up at him. "That was- that was good, right?" You asked breathlessly.
Loki laughed, hugging you back to him, and kissing your forehead. "Yes, darling. That was good."
When you finally stepped away and got a good look at him, he was just as out of breath and starry-eyed as you seemed to be. "I guess I'll see you in the morning then." You breathed, laughing a little.
"Yes you will," He reached for your hand, pressing his lips to the back of it. "Goodnight, then."
As his grip loosened, yours tightened. You pulled him forward, startling him as he stumbled towards you.
"Goodnight, Loki." You smiled, triumphant as you kissed him yet again.

A Mischievous Mistletoe
Pairing: Loki x Fem!Reader
Plot:
Like most rom-coms, our reader has to fake a date for a Christmas with her relatives. And who can be better than her best friend? A classic best friends-to-lovers plot. Again.
Warnings: None, just cheesy, clichéd fluff with a little angst in the middle.
Read time: ~36 mins
Note: This was part of a drabble request that was made in October. 🙄 I know! I’m slower than the slowest sloth! And it ended up much longer than what a drabble should be. I’m so sorry, @muddyorbsblr , I just…IDK how to defend myself!!
Tumblr media
It was a languid afternoon - one of the few that the residents of the Avengers Compound could tell a tale about. The afternoon sun slid in through the open window of a certain room, caressing in its wake, the line of pothos spilling off the windowsill, the bench right next to it, and the handful of decors and furniture that it could find in the minimally but strikingly furnished room.
In the process of colouring everything gold, the rays of the departing sun painted a certain prince - or should we call him king? - in its glorious shade, making his appearance even more ethereal, more regal than he already looked. With a book in hand, Loki lay on the bench, relishing a few lazy moments stolen from time. His eyes darted across the pages, consuming the content, like a lover’s eyes would feast upon their beloved.
But moments like these, where one remembers nothing but their simplest desires, are usually short-lived, aren’t they?
A slow, unsure knock on the door whipped Loki out of his solitary bubble. There was only one human who would dare to disturb this particular Asgardian during his alone-time.
“Hey, Loki!”
Standing at the threshold of Loki’s room, (Y/N) barely poked her head inside as she greeted him with a sheepish and tiny voice. Her friendship with the trickster went far enough for her to admit herself into his room without waiting for his permission.
With a heavy sigh, the God of Mischief shut the book, but not before sliding a bookmark between the pages. The pages of the hardbound cover met each other with a muffled thud.
“What did you do now?” He asked her with an air of indifference.
Her sheepish grin morphed into a grimace as she wondered how to unveil the Gordian knot that she had tied.
When she did not respond but kept wringing her hands, Loki raised a brow at her. “Do I have to dig a grave?” He asked in a monotonous tone although bubbles of laughter were threatening to erupt within him. His grip on the book tightened to keep these mischievous little things imprisoned inside.
“Yeppp! Mine,” she mumbled.
“Hmm.” With a swift and graceful manoeuvre, he slid his long legs off the window bench. The careless tail of his robe tugged at a stray cushion, causing it to flop on the floor near his feet.
Standing tall before her, he held the book close above her head. Knitting his brows together and pursing his lips, he looked her up and down, and hummed to himself. A confused (Y/N) traced his movements with questioning eyes as he placed his hands on both sides of her but a little away.
Once realisation dawned upon her, she clicked her tongue and swatted his hands away. “Not mine, you smartass!”
“But I am sure I heard you requesting a grave for yourself!” Loki’s eyes betrayed his tight lips that were trying to suppress the surge of amusement boiling inside him.
“Okay! I did something…stupid,” she finally brought herself to confess.
“Amuse me.” He strode back to the bench, and lay down with his hands behind his head, the book now finding refuge on the coffee table. The cushion that lay on the floor was now being stroked gently by the hem of his parted green robe which, in turn, revealed a long leg - clad in soft trousers of a darker green - crossed over the other.
Exhaling deeply, she began, “Well, umm…you know my cousin, Laura? The one with a snob for a nose and daggers for a tongue and…and a large black hole for a heart?” She described with a dramatic roll of her eyes.
“Hmm,” Loki sported a mischievous smirk. “Are you speaking of that cousin of yours with skin like molten gold, with eyes like a doe’s and with a mouth that is too luscious to not be kissed? Yes, I remember her.”
(Y/N) didn’t realise how hard she was clenching her jaws or how obviously she was glaring at Loki until the latter shot back a knowing grin.
“Are you jealous?” He purred like a proud cat who had successfully cornered his victim.
“Hah! Why the hell should I be? I just…don’t like her. That’s it,” she dismissed his accusation with a wave of her hand. “She’s vile!”
“She’s attractive,” he defended.
“What the-? I can’t believe you’re on her side!”
“I am simply stating the facts,” he shrugged nonchalantly.
“Fine! Just...float in her thoughts. I won’t disturb you!”
She was quick to turn her back and stomp away. But Loki was quicker. He got off his seat and caught her wrist just as she was about to grab the door handle.
“Wait,” he whispered.
Whether it was Loki’s magic touch or his Silvertongue or his ability to control thoughts, she could never figure it out. But she was always surprised by the way he could pull the strings of her heart, how he always managed to get his way. Of course, he was one of her closest friends, her confidante, the person with whom she fought but also shared her best moments. But there was something about him that was…magnetic.
She found it mildly frustrating how, without even a single word of protest, her entire being immediately agreed to stay back. Loki gently ushered her to the window bench, the sun now finding a new figure, somewhere else in the room, to paint its hues on.
“Tell me. I promise not to utter a single word about your gorgeously desirable cousin. Not until you have told me everything,” his teasing tongue erupted a small fire within her, and he enjoyed it immensely.
She sighed, “Well, where do I even begin!”
Loki was waiting patiently through the long pause that she rested upon. But when it looked like she was lost in her thoughts even after a minute, he cleared his throat.
“Ah!” Slightly startled, she looked at him apologetically. “I’m sorry. I just…”
“What happened?” Loki placed a comforting hand over hers. “I shall do my best to fix it.”
“I know! And that is why I came to you. But now I think it was a bad idea. It was a bad idea from the beginning!”
“Would you please tell me?” He insisted.
“Well,” she sighed again, “Laura is hosting a Christmas party at her place this year. And she has invited me. Obviously!!” She rolled her eyes at the last word.
“So?”
“So,” (Y/N) gave an exasperated laugh, “I can’t go without a date!! I know it sounds clichéd, like some stupid plot from some stupid Christmas movie, but it’s freaking real!!”
“Darling, you will go ultrasonic in a few minutes!” Loki grimaced. “Please calm down!”
“I’m sorry! I’m just furious!! She’s always been bragging about her stupid boyfriend who’s always wrapped around her finger like a band-aid, and constantly mocking me for being single. I mean, it’s my choice that I’m single! It’s not like I’m averted to the idea of having someone in my life, it’s just that I won’t just say ‘yes’ to anybody who comes my way! And I know very well that she has invited me to vex me in front of the entire family!”
“Then do not go,” Loki suggested calmly.
“If I do not go, she’ll spread stories about how I chickened out because I’ll turn up alone, without somebody around my arm. Again!”
“Hmm,” the raven-haired prince pressed a long finger to his lips. “How do you want me to help? Should I change her mind? If you know what I mean.”
His mischievous smirk succeeded in breaking a small smile on her otherwise angry countenance.
“I wish, but no!” (Y/N) shook her head. “I… Well, I already told her that I’d be going. And…”
“And?”
She bit her lip. “And I said that I’d be bringing a plus one.”
“And you wish me to be that plus one,” Loki summed up.
She gave a meek nod of her head.
“No.” The god got up and strode across the room, leaving her with an open mouth and wide eyes.
“No?” She jumped up on her feet. “What do you mean ‘no’?”
The moment Loki shot her a glare, he tone changed into a humble one. “Please don’t say ‘no’!”
“I have already said it.”
“Then please change it! Loki, I really need your help!”
“There are so many attractive men in this compound; get one of them!”
“Look, it’s not like I haven’t tried. No one’s available!”
He eyed her doubtfully.
“I’d asked Steve but he said that he won’t be able to constantly lie to my family,” she reasoned. “I don’t know if Bucky would be comfortable under all that pressure. I don’t trust Thor with his big mouth. No offence!”
“None taken,” an amused smile toyed on his lips.
“And then there’s Sam…” A thought crossed her mind. With furrowed brows she continued, “Wait, I didn’t ask Sam.”
“There you go,” Loki gestured towards her with a snap of his fingers, “your problem has been solved.”
After assessing a few things in her mind, she spread her arms, “Nope, not Sam.”
“Why not?”
“Because he would be going out with someone else! He had said this long back. I knew there was something, some reason for which I didn’t ask him but just couldn’t put my finger on it!”
The trickster pinched the bridge of his nose. “And why would I do it? What would I get in return?”
(Y/N) looked at him disbelievingly. “I thought I was your friend!! The closest one, in fact! You won’t help a friend in need?”
Deep within, Loki knew that he would help her as soon as she had uttered one word. But it was the social gathering that he wanted to avoid. He had endured enough scepticism on this planet; he did not wish to attract more.
But (Y/N) was persuasive.
So, it was with utter displeasure that Loki ultimately found himself standing in front of Laura’s door on the eve of Christmas.
Beside him, (Y/N) was fidgeting with her hair and her coat. Despite the chilly air, a paleness veiled her face, and her usual cheerful persona was replaced by a quiet one.
“Are you alright?” Loki gently touched her shoulder.
“Yes. Yes, I’m alright. I just...” She shook her head. “I hate people poking their heads into my private life. And now I’ve dragged you with me! I’m sorry!”
“You do not need to do this if you do not want to.” His tone was so kind that it almost made her cry.
“It’s not that I don’t want to, it’s…” She trailed off.
Once again, Loki waited for her patiently, searching her eyes for all the unsaid things. He could relate to her. He knew how it felt when one had to smile their way through people who did not like them, when one had to constantly fear the sharp daggers of words stabbing them any time. And he felt bad for her.
“Let us do it!” He took his hand in his and squeezed it.
The sudden touch and the sudden command from Loki surprised her. “What? No, no, it’s alright. We can head back. Let’s head back. We don’t need to-”
“We need to!” Loki cut her off. “Let us show them who you are: a fearless, confident, beautiful woman who does not need anyone else to validate her life for her.”
She stared at him with awe.
“Who is this man?!”
Loki had always been supportive but this was on a totally different level! And all the adjectives that he laid down for her - they were enough to make her want to wrap her arms around him.
Before she had the time to react or to have second thoughts about her second thoughts, Loki rang the doorbell. A few seconds later, a woman, clad in a short red dress that hugged all her curves deliciously, opened the door. (Y/N) noticed the way Loki took in her appearance.
“Oh my God, (Y/N)!” The said woman threw her arms around the guest who, in turn, rolled her eyes.
“Hey, Laura!” (Y/N) patted her back.
“And you must be her plus one,” the way Laura eyed Loki made (Y/N) want to gauge her cousin’s eyes out.
“I am Loki,” he took the hostess’s hand and lightly touched his lips to it. “You look gorgeous!”
“You are not so shabby yourself,” Laura grinned like a Cheshire cat, “and what a gentleman!”
Their actions made (Y/N) slightly sick. She hated her cousin. And now Loki - the person she was the closest with - was shamelessly flirting with her.
“It’s kind of chilly out here,” (Y/N) interrupted. “Mind if we go inside?”
Laura wrapped an arm around Loki’s and tugged him inside.
“Where’s your fiance?” (Y/N) asked her cousin with a hope to divert her attention from her friend.
“He had to go abroad for a meeting. You know how busy these high profile businessmen can get!”
With a fake smile, (Y/N) nodded and asked for a glass of water hoping, once again, that her cousin would let go of Loki.
As she walked away, Loki leaned slightly towards his companion and whispered in her ear, “Are you sure a glass of water will work or should we call the firemen?”
“You don’t get to talk!” She almost shouted but Loki shushed her. “You don’t get to talk,” she whispered this time. “How dare you flirt with her!! And you have the audacity to joke about it! Outrageous!”
“What can I say,” the god gave his famous smirk, “I’m just trying to blend in.”
“Blend in shit!!”
When (Y/N) saw Laura walking back with a glass in hand, she quickly grabbed Loki’s arm, surprising the god in the process.
“Ooh! I didn’t know you were so possessive about me!” He whispered.
One glare from her was enough to silence his mouth but the mirth remained in his eyes.
"Just play along, will you?" She gritted through her teeth. “From afar.”
Loki and (Y/N) walked amidst her relatives, arm in arm, presenting themselves as the happy couple that everyone was delighted to see! No questions, no arguments, no pitiful looks, no sarcastic comments - (Y/N) was finally beginning to feel the triumph in her seemingly “stupid” decision.
But fate seemed to have other plans for her.
Loki suddenly stopped in his tracks, a bewilderment shielding his beautiful face.
“What in the Nine…” Loki's voice trailed off as he gaped at one particular decoration. He tapped (Y/N)'s shoulder. "What is that bunch of twigs doing here?"
"Which one?" Her eyes searched the place until it followed the trail that Loki’s long finger pointed at.
“Ah that! That is a … mistletoe." Much to her annoyance, a faint blush crept up her cheeks as she uttered the name.
While she was praying that Loki doesn’t notice her embarrassing state, the latter was busy spiralling down his own thoughts.
“I know what it is!” He “whispered” loud enough for people within at least six feet to hear him. “I demand to know what it is doing here!”
The blatant lack of his usual calm demeanour alarmed her. He was not the kind to act inappropriately in front of people, especially strangers, and especially the ones who were related to her.
“Did it trigger some old memories?... Maybe he had some bad experience with a former…girlfriend?”
The word “girlfriend” tasted like vinegar, even in her thoughts. But being wise enough, she was able to swallow it down quickly.
“It is a tradition, Loki,” she explained. “Loki, are you alright? Is something wrong? We can head back if you are feeling unwell.”
It was the concern in her voice that pulled him back from his rumination. A swift lick of his dry lips, a subtle clearing of his throat, followed by a deep breath, and the lines on his forehead were gone just as quickly as they had appeared.
“No. I am absolutely fine.” His hands ran over his jacket in an attempt to smoothen out the non-existent wrinkles. “Shall we?”
Unwilling to poke any buried feelings, she decided to let the matter go, and happily looped her arm into the one that Loki had so politely extended towards her.
Sitting in a far corner of the living room, with her third drink in hand, she observed the room. Or maybe it wouldn’t be very wrong to say that she observed one particular person and the interactions of the rest of the family with him.
The fact that everyone believed her lie about their relationship made her feel relieved.
The fact that Loki was able to smoothly blend in with the family made her happy.
The fact that he was unashamedly flirting with the very cousin who never missed an opportunity to make her feel like shit made her miserable.
But even amidst the pile of various emotions, she did not miss how Loki’s eyes failed to shine as they usually did, how those smiles never reached his eyes. And it had all begun ever since he had laid eyes on that damned mistletoe.
Chugging her drink down, along with her despondent thoughts, she pushed herself off the chair and strutted towards him.
“He’s my friend. To hell with the world!”
Her throat was still burning from the alcohol when she reached him. When Loki looked up at her, he had a flirty smile stuck on him. But something about her expressions evaporated that mask away. He got up from the loveseat he was sharing with Laura, much to the annoyance of the latter.
“Are you alright?” Just a second ago, he had been using his coquettish voice, and now it was gone in an instant; his words were dripping with concern.
“Are you alright?” She asked him back. “You look like you’re in desperate need of a rescue!”
“Where is this coming from?”
She couldn’t believe her own words! Three drinks shouldn’t have been enough to make her tipsy but they had surely tore her inhibitions down. All this time she had swallowed her jealousy down, and allowed him to do whatever he pleased. But the boldness that voiced itself now came as a surprise even to her slightly foggy mind.
His mouth slightly parted in wonder. Loki looked between his “date” for the night and the cousin who was clearly furious. Clearing his throat, he smiled, “I would love to take a walk, if you are willing to accompany me.”
He was further surprised when (Y/N) extended an arm towards him, just like he had done a couple of hours ago. Taking it rather happily, he whispered to her cousin, “I shall be right back.”
“No, he won’t!” (Y/N) shouted over her shoulder, making the trickster chuckle.
Once outside, the chilly night air seemed to clear her senses a bit while also pulling her out of the suffocation she felt inside those walls.
“So,” Loki began in a soft voice, “are you alright? You seem a little…tipsy.”
“Yes, I am, your majesty, a little tipsy!” She replied with an air of royalty, making Loki laugh. “And I like it!”
“Is there any place where we can sit?” Loki looked around the snow-covered lawn.
“The bitch has a swing somewhere in here,” his companion slurred. “Ah, there it is!”
What she had called a swing turned out to be a porch swing. Loki had noticed her lips quivering in the cold. So, once they settled down on the seat, he wrapped a careful arm around her and pulled himself closer to her. Drunk on both alcohol and the closeness of Loki in the winter night, she did not care as her head rolled comfortably on her teammate’s shoulder.
For a few heartbeats, neither spoke. The chills of Winter - accentuated by the snowflakes flying past them - and a hypnotic silence enveloped them in one of the most calming moments of their entire lives. And Loki had already lived a rather long life, compared to (Y/N).
(Y/N) was the first to pop the bubble. “When we stepped inside, you…well, the mistletoe bothered you.”
She paused to gauge Loki’s reaction. When she found almost none, she continued. “Why was that? I mean, you need not tell me if you don’t want to. You know I won’t force you, right?”
She trod on the topic gingerly, afraid that any rash word might crack the proverbial glass beneath their feet.
With a sigh, Loki stared at the veil of white covering the ground. “It is a long, morbid story.”
“And I’m in no hurry,” she added softly, “but only if you’re okay with sharing it.”
“I…” Loki began but soon became unsure as to which words to use. There was no easy way to say it aloud. It was something that he would rather keep buried in him with the hope of eventually forgetting than sharing with someone who might understand.
“I had a brother,” he resumed after a pause. “A brother other than Thor.”
“What happened to him?”
“Apparently, … I killed him.”
(Y/N) sat up with a jolt. For a moment, Loki could not help but believe that she was disgusted by him, just like people always have been most of his life.
“You did not, did you?” Her question stunned him. No one had ever asked him this. “You said ‘apparently’. People presumed that it was you. Wasn’t it?”
A taunting laugh mingled with the cold air to form a wisp. “Why? I am the worst, am I not? Always plotting against everyone and wishing nothing but everybody’s ruin!”
There it was. The hurt was spilling through his words. She regretted having asked him about the mistletoe in the first place. Well, never in her entire life would she have thought that the story would take such a turn.
(Y/N) fumbled with her words for a while before resuming her composure. “Loki, I know you. Probably better than anyone else does. Which is why I know that you won’t kill your brother. Not unless it was necessary.”
“Necessary?”
“You know, like he went all crazy and started killing people or something.”
Her words made him laugh, even though it sounded rather sad.
“No,” he replied, “he was not crazy. Well, he was, if you ask me…but not a cold-blooded murderer.”
There was a stillness in the air as Loki ruminated on the past, interrupted occasionally by the scraping of the swing on the metal bar.
“Baldur was a good man,” Loki resumed. His eyes were lost somewhere in the distance. “He was the god of war. People loved him. … When he was born - and I have heard this, of course - mother was warned that he would die in a way that nobody would anticipate. So, she asked everything - living and non-living - in fact, pleaded with them not to harm her beloved son. They all agreed. All except the mistletoe. Mother assumed that it was so harmless that she need not persuade it for an oath.”
(Y/N) was listening to him with wide eyes and parted lips.
“So, a feast was arranged where Baldur was showing off his immortality. Everyone was throwing things of different kinds at him - sticks and swords - and everything simply bounced off him.”
Loki’s lips opened but words refused to come out of him.
“I-I… I had to do something different, of course. The god of mischief!” There was a bitterness in the way he described himself. “So, I brought in a branch of mistletoe. A twig, if you may call it. Hodr wanted to throw something at Baldur. He was blind, this fellow. So, I offered him my mistletoe. It was so fragile; what harm could it cause! I directed Hodr so that he would aim at Baldur’s arm. But it hit him in his chest. … And it…it went right through him. He-he died. Right there. Just…”
His voice had started breaking. (Y/N) wanted nothing but to hold him in her arms and soothe all his pain away. But she held herself for she knew that Loki was not very fond of hugs.
“Everyone simply assumed that I was jealous of him because of all the attention that he was getting! They accused me, imprisoned me, made me suffer a punishment that was worse than Hel!”
That was it. (Y/N) could not resist further. So, she took his hands and cocooned them in hers.
“Believe me, (Y/N), it was only a prank. Nothing more! I never wanted to kill him. Never!”
“I know, Loki, I know. I believe you.” Her arms wrapped around him as she brought his head to rest on her shoulder.
The god wept on her shoulder. All the unshed pain that he had been carrying with him for all those years finally found their way out. His arms looped around her of their own accord as she ran a soothing hand over his back and whispered comforting words in his ears.
It took him a few minutes to calm down. Or maybe more. When he did, he realised how close he was to her…how his arms held her snug to his chest…how his lips were pressed to her scarf…how his lungs yearned for her smell with each breath…and how this scent soothed his entire being.
His initial thought was to jump away, for he believed that it must have been embarrassing for her. It had to be awkward, hadn’t it? But then, a moment later, he allowed himself to realise how good it actually felt. And she was in no hurry to let go of him either. Oddly though, it felt right. A warmth spread through him, melting the chills of the night air and of the past that he had been burdening himself with.
So, they remained in each other’s arms for a while more until their seats on the swing started becoming uncomfortable. With hesitant hearts and shy eyes, they slowly untangled themselves.
(Y/N) reached out to wipe his eyes. Loki looked so vulnerable that she wanted to take care of him despite what anybody including the trickster himself might think. But her fear whispered that she might scare him away. So, she ended up cradling his face with one hand.
Loki himself was caught in a strange trance. It was like no magic that he had ever encountered before. The greatest sorcerer in the Nine Realms was unable to take his eyes off the mortal before her.
Whether it was the grief or the weather or simply his long-suppressed feelings for her or all of these, he was not sure of. All he felt was that her touch warmed him to the deepest corner of his being. All he was aware of was that they were both leaning towards the other. All he knew was that this moment was inevitable, this kiss was inevitable. That they must act on it before the moment was gone.
But they took too long.
The light creak of the front door of the house, and the sharp call of a woman’s voice startled them. When they had been missing from the party for quite some time, the hostess herself came out looking for them. Of course, she had assumed that (Y/N) had ditched the party, not that she minded. Her only concern for the night was the charming date that her cousin had brought along.
Imagine her satisfaction when she understood what she had interrupted upon! While (Y/N) jumped off the swing, Loki took a second to dry his face and present a smiling facade before the woman.
“I thought you guys had left!” Laura exclaimed with a faux worry.
“No,” (Y/N) replied, “we were enjoying some nice time. But that’s in the past now., thanks to you,” she murmured the last few words.
“Let’s go inside,” the hostess suggested, “you will freeze out here!”
“We were actually thinking of leaving,” (Y/N) replied. She knew better than to push Loki back into that crowd after such a vulnerable moment.
“What? No! You must stay!” The other woman insisted. “And I need to know more about this handsome stranger you have brought!”
Her sly smile made (Y/N) want to kick her in the crotch. She opened her mouth to protest. But Loki cut her off. He agreed to go inside, to put up that mask again. And before (Y/N) could say anything more, Loki had wrapped a comfortable arm around her waist and was already tugging her inside.
This time Loki did not allow himself to be hijacked by Laura. He kept himself busy with the other guests while secretly enjoying the indignation that he caused her. Amidst all the smart words and fake smiles, his eyes kept floating towards his teammate - the teammate with whom he had just shared one of the biggest sorrows and shames of his life, the teammate with whom he had just shared a special moment. And who knew what more that moment could have morphed into had it not been trampled upon.
(Y/N) was constantly being swept away by one relative or another. But her mind was still seated on that porch swing, basking in Loki’s warmth, burning in the touch of his breath on her lips, anticipating something that was probably never possible. And maybe that’s why God sent her cousin outside at that precise moment. Because that kiss was never possible.
An unhappiness veiled her countenance, making many people ask if she was feeling unwell. Taking advantage of their concern, she excused herself, and isolated herself in a far corner of the large living room.
This did not escape Loki’s notice. His eyes trailed her movements, her expressions and her gradual change of demeanour. All after the incident outside.
As his focus shifted from the guests to her entirely, a string of words drifted into his ears - incomprehensible at first but then they gradually started taking proper shapes. And then he realised it. They did not reach his ears, they floated into his mind! And the voice was a very familiar one. (Y/N)’s!
“She must have zoned out.”
He had promised never to dive into her mind unless she asked him to. But this was different. Her thoughts came to him; he had nothing to do with it, and so, he wasn’t breaking any promise!
Loki listened to her intently. He listened to her confusions, her sorrows, her lack of faith in herself, her acceptance of defeat, her curses as she reproached herself for not being able to confess her immense love for him…
“Wait, what?”
Loki was dumbfounded. There was no way he could have heard wrong but how could that be true anyway? Or could it be? He couldn’t believe his own mind for the first time!
There was perhaps a way to know.
Excusing himself, he approached (Y/N) with a mischief in mind.
“Should we head home?” He placed a soothing hand on her shoulder.
(Y/N) was startled. But the sight of the man rolled a wave of happiness within her.
“No, I’m fine,” she smiled. “I just…I needed a break from all the talking!”
Loki nodded. Lost in her thoughts, she did not notice the trickster subtly - and gracefully - stir the wind with his slender fingers.
“That is one odd place to hang those twigs!” He suddenly remarked with amusement coating his words.
(Y/N) followed the direction of his eyes to find a mistletoe hanging above their heads. Immediately, a panic arose in her. She did not want Loki to go through all that pain again.
“Shit! I…I didn’t see it hanging there. I… Let’s sit somewhere else. You don’t need to see this.”
“Hey,” he held her arm as she sprang to her feet, and gently pushed her back on the chair. “It is alright. Believe me. It is…I am actually feeling better after letting everything out before you… Thank you!”
The gratefulness and adoration in his eyes were obvious. It touched her very soul. Cradling his hand in hers, she whispered, ”You deserve nothing but love. All of it!”
“Which reminds me…” Loki spoke, “are you not supposed to kiss when underneath this treacherous bunch of wild leaves?”
(Y/N)’s face first turned pale and then crimson. There was no way Loki could have known that! Or maybe she had left him in unknown waters for too long.
Prior to the party, the Asgardian obviously knew nothing about any modern traditions regarding the mistletoe. But his companion was right; he had spent enough hours with Laura and other giggling ladies to know a mistletoe’s purpose on Midgard.
Before (Y/N) could protest, someone answered Loki’s question, “Of course, you should kiss! (Y/N), what are you waiting for?” That was her childhood friend.
He was loud enough to draw the attention of others, many of whom were now urging them to seal the deal. At the other end of the room, Laura was fuming, mentally cursing the decorator who had put the mistletoe up there.
“This is not a movie, guys!” (Y/N) stood up straight and shouted. “C’mon! Stop behaving like kids!”
“Are you two even for real?” One of the hostess’s friends shouted back. “How can you not kiss a boyfriend who’s this hot!”
“We do not like PDA, that is all it is,” (Y/N) reasoned.
Loki gently took her fingers in his. It was his tender touch that grounded her anxious emotions. “I would not mind it if it is what it takes to convince your folks,” he rasped in a voice so low that one she could hear him.
How could she say no to those green orbs staring right into her soul! But…it would be wrong to coax him into something which he did not want.
If only she knew!
She never realised when Loki had leaned in until she found it hard to focus on anywhere but his lips. “It’s okay,” she whispered to him. “You don’t need to do this. You could always refus-”
The god did not allow her to finish that line. He had already pressed his lips to hers. A round of cheers and applause rang through the room. But everything was muffled against their ears. The sounds felt like floating from afar. Loki kissed her gently, sweetly, taking his time to show her what he really felt for her. Trying to understand what she felt for him in return.
Although she was stunned initially, Loki’s warmth seeping in through her made her relax. She started mimicking his actions. She allowed her feelings to flow through them. Loki’s arm around her waist and his hand behind her head anchored her to the ground, refraining her body from collapsing under the overwhelming love that Loki was bestowing on her.
But they had to breathe. And it was in their moment of separation that reality sweeped down upon her.
Loki was glowing! But she did not notice that. She was too busy drowning in her insecurities to understand the emotions working behind Loki’s recent actions. She was scared that their relationship would never be the same again, and not in a positive way. She was afraid that they would forever be fumbling around one another because they had crossed the boundaries of friendship, regardless of the fact that she wanted exactly that.
Her eyes apologised to him but he was ecstatic. He could not see past the love that she reciprocated on his lips. But when he finally saw the frown shadowing her features, he placed a caring hand over her cheek.
“What is it, love?”
“I’m so sorry, Loki! I-I know this is awkward for you! I…I’m so sorry! I don’t want to lose you. I-I mean, you-your friendship. This…Loki, promise me you won’t be angry!”
The god stared at her dumbfounded. When he finally did manage to form a coherent sentence again, he commanded her but softly, “Come with me.”
Unwilling to make a scene out of the confusion, he managed to smoothly pull her aside, away from prying eyes and curious ears, without raising any suspicion.
Once they reached a safe corner, he simply gasped, “Since when did you become so dumb?”
Too embarrassed to reveal her watery eyes but too curious to know the meaning behind his accusation, she took only a fleeting glance at him. Focusing hard on the buttons of his shirt, she asked timidly, “What do you mean?”
Loki huffed. He could not understand how someone as smart as her could turn out to be so witless when it came to matters of the heart.
“Do you not understand?” he asked her, slightly annoyed.
“Okay, I have a confession to make. I wanted to kiss you. Did you not feel it? Did you not realise that… Norns! There was no mistletoe up there initially!” Observing her blank countenance, he continued, “It was me- I…” He threw his arms up in the air. “(Y/N)! I put the mistletoe there above us! For us!...For you, you fool!!”
Slowly the gears in her mind started ticking into place. Loki could almost hear them as he watched her expressions morph from confusion to realisation to astonishment to ecstasy.
He smiled. In a voice as soft and gentle as freshly fallen snow, he asked her, “Do you understand now?”
Still in a state of shock, the poor girl stumbled through her words, “Me? But…why? You- Since when?”
A few minutes earlier, when she had voiced her disappointment and uncertainty about the incident with the mistletoe, Loki’s confident demeanour had slipped off a bit. Although he was sure of what he had heard in her thoughts, her weary state had made him wonder if those thoughts were but only smoke trails of a passing moment.
But now, with regained confidence, he stepped forward and took her hands in his, cocooning them in his large ones.
A soft chuckle left his parted lips. “‘Why’ - I do not have the answer to that, believe me. ‘Since when’ - well, I do not really know but I think it might have been somewhere between our annoyingly long talks, our late night affairs of tea, our banters, our reading sessions…maybe somewhere amidst the laughs and the pains that we shared…mingled with the love and care that you have always showered on me, unconditionally… I do not know, (Y/N)... All I know is that…I…” He took a deep breath, “I love you. Yes. And that is why I put the mistletoe up there. I did not know how else to convey my feelings to you. I had thought that you would understand when… I knew I would fumble with words but… Please tell me you are not upset about this entire situation!”
The confession hit her like a freight train. It took her some time to gather herself back together. All this while she had been watching Loki with eyes that radiated nothing but pure adoration. With a small smile on her mouth, she absorbed every single syllable, every single emotion that Loki pronounced.
“Mr. Silvertoungue fumbling?” She let out a breathy laugh which caused a tint of pink to bloom on the trickster’s ears and cheeks.
“No,” she continued, “I’m not upset… You did the right thing…putting that mistletoe up there. I’m absolutely confident that I could have never gathered the courage to tell you how I feel.”
A small chuckle of relief left Loki.
“But that was a lot of talk for a confession. Do you realise that?” She asked with a teasing smile.
The God of Mischief laughed and scratched the side of his nose. “I have been told more than once, yes.”
“But I loved it all,” she took a step closer to him.
“I am glad tha-” Before he could finish his line, (Y/N) had placed her hand over his mouth, taking him by surprise.
“Shh! Do you think,” she removed her hand and resumed with a sigh, “you can conjure that little piece of mischief back…above us? Now?”
A wicked grin spread on Loki’s lips. “Any time! As many times as you want, darling.”
With a small gesture of his slender fingers, a mistletoe appeared above them once again. This time (Y/N) wasted no time in pulling Loki down by the collar of his shirt and placing a promising kiss on his eager lips.
They felt the same fire as the previous time but better. This time neither was in a rush to douse the flames but ready to surrender to them, to become one with the raging fire and burn bright until there was nothing left but the glowing love and passion that they felt for each other.
But even in the middle of a searing moment like this, (Y/N)’s mind couldn’t help but wander off to other thoughts. Barely separating herself from Loki, she tried to ask him but the Asgardian wasn’t willing to let her go, “Wait, how were you…mmh…so confident about…mmh…wait! About how I felt for you?”
“Later”, was the only response that Loki was able to manage as he pulled her closer and chased her kiss-swollen lips with his hungry ones.
She tried hard to pry herself or at least her mouth away from the impatient man but kept failing until she squeezed his jaw firmly in her grip. It wasn’t like the god could be stopped by this little human but he respected her wish and sort of enjoyed it when she bossed around.
“How?” She raised a brow while demanding her answer.
“I hurd yur thughts,” Loki managed to utter through squeezed cheeks and puckered lips.
“You heard my thoughts? You read my mind?!” She released his face only to hit his arm. “How dare you?”
“Love, I did not mean to! But you were sitting there all by yourself, looking so sad, and I was completely focused on you, trying to understand what was hurting you, and they just floated towards me - your thoughts! They were so loud that I did not even have to try! Forgive me for breaching your privacy. But believe me, darling, I never meant to!”
Here was Loki trying to convince her of his unadulterated intentions, but she had lost him the moment he called her ‘love’. Everything else was a blur, a beautiful but muted music floating through the air from a distance, spreading like mist, on a quiet winter night.
“That’s alright,” she smiled giddily. “I’m glad you read my mind.”
But Loki needed further assurance. “You are not angry?”
“Nope! Not at all.”
Upon hearing her confirmation, he let out a long breath.
“Now,” she toyed with the sleeve of his shirt, “where were we?”
A small laugh, mingled with both relief and joy, escaped the trickster. “In the middle of the first of a zillion kisses, I believe?”
“Hmm,” with the most ecstatic grin possible, she balanced herself on Loki’s strong frame and stood on her tiptoes to finish what a mischievous mistletoe had started.

Loki understood the humans' division of years. It was reasonable; the span of time in which their planet revolves around their sun with a predictable, repetitive cycle of seasons. The part that perplexed him was the day they designated as the beginning of that cycle. It wasn't the beginning of a season, it had no astronomical significance, it seemed to be a completely arbitrary day in their journey through space. He suspected it started with someone looking for another excuse to celebrate during this absolutely dismal season and the rest of them just went with it. He admitted it was difficult to argue against.
The human town apparently made a spectacle of the event every year. It was said that most of the population came out for the fireworks and revelry and, from what he heard, much of New Asgard seemed to be planning on joining in. He and Thor were not the exception; Valkyrie had picked them up in her beaten blue truck and they were currently en route to meet you at the celebration. There would be libations to consume but the Midgard drinks were unlikely to have much effect on the gods. It was unfortunate that there weren't any Æsir spirits available yet. He could use a drink. Supposedly Asbjorn and his sons were making great strides in brewing something akin to Asgardian liquor, but there wasn't yet enough volume for general consumption.
"So, you guys planning on kissing anyone tonight?" Valkyrie kept her eyes on the street as they passed through New Asgard, only glancing at the brothers. Thor and Loki turned to her with blank stares. "You haven't heard? It's a tradition. They kiss someone at midnight. It's supposed to be good luck." She shrugged. "I thought it was cute." Thor chuckled. "Indeed. I can't say I have any intention of participating."
Loki said nothing, but naturally his mind immediately turned to you. As he watched the scenery out the window he allowed himself the indulgence of imagining kissing you, his hands cupping your face and pulling you close. He wondered how you might respond. The fantasy was quickly broken by a dread reality. Were you going to kiss someone tonight? He couldn't be sure if there was someone you had your eye on. In all the long conversations the two of you had shared, romance rarely came up. It seemed to be the sort of thing you kept to yourself. Was there someone you would bestow your affections on? Would he have to see it? He thought back to the man behind the counter at the cafe and glowered. He wasn't prepared for that sight. However, it was too late to back out of the event without drawing questions he didn't want to answer. He could really use a drink.
The town was filled with people strolling through the streets, generally moving in the same direction. It became apparent that the truck wouldn't get much further than this, so Valkyrie parked and the gods stepped out into the throng. The crowd was flowing toward the edge of town and up a slight hill near the harbor. The buildings opened into a wide, paved promenade. One side of the promenade was lined with shops, and the other looked out to the ocean, where a barge could be seen anchored in the distance. All the snow had been cleared away from the pavement and people were gathering here for the fireworks show, which would presumably be administered by the barge. Some groups had spread out blankets while others had folding chairs. Children were running about, Asgardians and humans were mingling freely. Picnic dinners were being enjoyed and a few food stalls were set up here and there.
"Boys! Val!" The three gods turned to see you approaching, Ash at your side. You were carrying a plastic champagne flute, which was currently empty. Judging by the flush of your face and the slightest hint of stagger in your step, Loki would guess this wasn't the first time you had emptied it. "You made it!" You reached the group and grabbed Thor's hand --Loki easily buried the slight sting of envy-- and began pulling him through the crowd. "We're set up over here." Thor chuckled. "I see you've already begun the festivities." He gestured toward your glass. "Gotta hit my quota before the year's over." You shot him a wink.
You led them through the promenade to a cluster of chairs beside a blanket. Khadija was sitting in one of the chairs, next to a man who Loki assumed to be her husband. He was shortly proven correct as you introduced them. Thor asked after Hani and was informed that she was flitting about with some of the other children. There was no sign of the man from the cafe, or any other potential suitors of yours, at least for now. Loki relaxed a fraction but still prepared contingencies should some romantic prospect make an appearance.
You were holding your glass out to Khadija, who filled it without question. "Are you certain you haven't had enough?" Loki asked with a smirk. You waved him off without a word and brought the glass to your lips. "Let the woman drink." Valkyrie was sitting on the blanket, Ash halfway sprawled into her lap. "I don't know how she's put up with you all this time while sober." "Who says I've been dealing with him sober?" You practically fell into one of the chairs. "Oh, it's very clear that you have been sober." Loki took a seat next to you. "The counterexample currently on display is evidence enough." You scoffed. "I guess you've finally driven me to drinking." You punctuated your point with another sip from the glass.
Food and drink was passed around and cheerful conversation passed the time. Members of the group would leave to greet other friends or acquaintances, or to patronize one of the food stalls, returning again to the little cluster of chairs eventually. Thor was elsewhere when Hani made an appearance, with a young Æsir girl in tow.
Hani stopped in her tracks when she spotted Loki. "Mr. Loki!" She pulled the Æsir girl over to him. "Can you show her your fireworks?" The Asgardian girl looked at him slightly apprehensively, she was clearly aware of his reputation. It stung a little, seeing it here, in contrast to Hani's open friendliness. He held out his hand, palm up, and manifested miniature fireworks above it. Hani clapped with glee. The Æsir girl had a small smile and spoke quietly. "My mother could use seiðr. She said she was going to teach me someday." Loki noted the past tense. "Then we must find you a teacher, as she intended." Her smile grew. Hani was ecstatic. "You'll learn magic!?" In a burst of giggles the two girls bounced away again.
Loki looked over at you. You were watching him with a strange look on your face. It was something akin to admiration. He would bask in it all day if given the chance. He was only given a moment more, Valkyrie asked something and stole your attention away.
Darkness had fallen and Loki was watching the steady waves when he felt a tug at his sleeve. He looked up to find you standing beside him. "Come on, I want to go for a walk."
He stood and offered you his arm which you took without hesitation. Ash remained with Valkyrie as you traipsed away with Loki. You leaned into him, in fact you were practically hanging off of him as the two of you strolled through the crowds. It was delightful. If you had a particular destination in mind, you didn't make it known. You seemed content to simply walk and chat with him in your normal way. Occasionally you would stop him to watch one of the games being played beneath the streetlights. One was spread out across the ground, it seemed to involve tossing wooden batons at wooden blocks on your opponent's side of the pitch. You cheered with the other onlookers when one was knocked over. You paused at another game at a table, two men hunched over a board with little figures on it.
"Oh, hey, look at this one." You said as you stopped to watch a move. "It's a game of strategy. You'd probably be good at it." He watched as the man took one of his opponent's pieces off the board. "Yes, I'm certain I would." You scoffed. "You are always so full of yourself." "Darling, I was merely agreeing with you." You rolled your eyes.
The two of you continued on, meandering around the promenade, gradually working your way back to the cluster of chairs when you expressed your need for more finger food. As the night wore on Loki began to relax. You didn't seem to have any intention of leaving his side and no admirers had made an appearance. He felt a small pang of guilt for the relief that brought him. You deserved to be courted. You deserved that happiness. He shouldn't wish otherwise just to protect his own petty feelings. He found slightly less joy in the fact that you weren't sticking close to some beau in anticipation of midnight. But perhaps you simply didn't subscribe to the tradition.
The fireworks began. Bold, bright bursts of color broke open in the sky over the water. As the barge sent its artillery into the air, the image of kissing you returned to Loki's mind. He willed it away, buried it. It wouldn't do to dwell on something like that while you were close by. He stole a furtive glance at you, as if worried you had heard the thought. You were unaware, admiring the show.
Midnight approached. The crowd began counting down as the fireworks built to a finale. The new year rolled in with the booming of explosives and roar of applause. Loki was startled when you suddenly leaned over to plant a quick kiss on his cheek. You settled back into your chair and immediately broke into laughter, then joined the cheers of the crowd. Couples throughout the promenade were ringing in the new year with shows of affection.
It felt like good luck.

“Love is heavy and light, bright and dark, hot and cold, sick and healthy, asleep and awake. It's everything except what it is!” He recalled Loki exclaiming. Their voice stomped around his living room, and he swore he could feel his heart shaking along the beat of the iambic pentameter. “How was that?” They ask gingerly, a complete turnaround from their previous boisterous voice. He sighs and tries to come across as unimpressed, but the way he’s leaned in gives off an air of adoration that was easily spotted by the god of mischief in front of him.

Soulbonded
Promt 11: He/She is a criminal
Loki x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Hurt/Comfort, Fluff, Angst.
Summery: After the Battle of New York left you with new discoveries and a new hobby, you didn't excpect your team and friends to turn on you so quick.
“He’s a criminal” Natasha huffed, glancing at you in disapproval.
“He’s misunderstood” you cross your arms over your chest as you defend Loki. It had been a month since the battle of New York, where you had made eye contact with Loki during the fight only to then get your soulmark. There was no mistaking the new brand sitting on the inside of your wrist, it was Loki's name. In neat cursive writing sits the name Loki Laufeyson, at first you didn’t believe it and denied it was real. Only after the battle when Loki was cuffed and taken back to Asgard, did it really hit you that he was your soulmate and that you might never see him again.
In an attempt to feel closer to Loki after you accepted his status and your own as soulmates, you dive into anything norse mythology you could get your hands on. If you asked Thor he would for sure ask questions, besides he was still off world. Your new obsession with norse mythology didn’t go unnoticed by your teammate and sort-of-friend Natasha Romanoff. You say sort-of since Natasha didn’t really trust anyone, and it made the friendship a bit harder. Natasha’s trust issues must have been tingling or something, because suddenly she was confronting you about your new hobby. So you told her the truth, and she was not happy about that. But it was the one thing you took pride in yourself on, it was your honesty.
Which was how the conversation came to this intervention-like point, with Natasha trying to reason with you by highlighting all the bad that Loki did.
“Misunderstood, misunderstood!! you’ve got to be kidding me y/n. He killed 80 people in cold blood, prior to the bloodshed that was New York a month ago ” Natasha was getting frustrated nothing was getting through to you.
“He’s my soulmate”
The confession hung in the air for a while, before Natasha seemed to react. “Y/N!!! Listen to me. He is a bad man, who mind controlled our allies and killed countless people” Her voice was loud, and the sound attracted the other Avengers including Thor who got back minutes prior to update the team on Loki’s sentence.
“Yes but that was because of the scepter, where did he get it cause Thor said he relied on magic. Somebody must have given him it, and they could have mind controlled Loki. We wouldn’t be able to see it, cause we have never seen it before and Thor was never mind controlled.” At this point you were pacing back and forth while voicing your theori.
“You just think that because Loki is your soulmate” She yelled.
“Loki is your soulmate?” Thor’s voice piped up, alerting you of the others' presence. You spun around and took in all your team members' faces, and they all looked at you like you had somehow betrayed them. By the looks on their faces it didn’t seem to matter that you have no power over who is your soulmate, their looks all screamed: You are not welcome here anymore.
“Yes Thor, and I would like to see him please. Take me back with you to Asgaard” you calmly addressed the god of thunder. “But what of your family here?” Thor innocently asked. The question was innocent enough, the Avengers had come to be a bit like family. But the posture they held now screamed, ‘I’m ready for a fight’ hell, Tony had even fetched one of his repulsor beams and was pointing it at you.
“Look at them Thor, now they know. I’m not family to them anymore, clearly ” you huffed, and blatantly pointed to the repulsor aimed at you. Thor looked at you seemingly a little lost that the Avengers turned on you because of your soulmate, but maybe it was because the nature of soulmates was perceived differently on Asgaard. On earth soulmates were perceived as two people who were right for each other, and often shared interests. Whereas on Asgaard soulmates were perceived as two halves of one soul, where they were two often very different personalities paired together. Soulbonds.
The Avengers saw it as you sharing hobbies as soulmates were known for, meaning your moral compass was probably screwed and wouldn’t hesitate to stab them in the back. But Thor saw you in a new light, as a sister figure since you were his brother's soulbond, but also as the contrasting truth and honesty to Loki’s mischievous and deceitful personality. Two halves of a whole person. A flawed one as all living beings are.
“Of course sister, I’m sure All father will make an exception for you to stay on Asgard. Go pack your bags, while I update the team”
With that you left the room, conscious of the repulsor following you the time until you were out of view. Packing was quick, it had only been a month at the tower so your personal items were sparse. Everything after was mostly a blur, you kept silent. The Avengers weren’t as much your friends as you thought, if they were they wouldn’t question your integrity based on your soulmate. You were your own person.
When Thor arrived back on Asgaard with a companion Heimdall simply raised an eyebrow, before Thor nudged you and urged you to show Heimdall your wrist. After Heimdall had seen the name on your wrist he let you walk into Asgard, wishing you luck with your soulbond. Odin had not been pleased with your arrival, and had Frigga not been there and been ecstatic to meet her youngest son's soulmate, you were pretty sure Odin would have kicked you to the curb. After ensuring them that you meant no harm, and telling them you would not care how little or how much lodging they could spare as long as you could see Loki, Odin seemed more okay with it.
The way you spoke politely and respectfully, plus the comment about not caring for lodging seemed to make everyone warm up to you. To the Asgardians who witnessed it, you simply proved their beliefs in soulbonds. You were surely going to be honest and truthful in your relationship.
Frigga insisted on personally showing you your room, it was right across the hall from what used to be Loki’s room and was near the library as well. You thanked her before setting your bag into the room, and asking her to take you to Loki. Unpacking could wait.
Loki sensed his mother before he saw her, but for the first time since they had locked him up here Frigga wasn’t alone. The steps that accompanied his mother were light, most likely another woman and that peaked Loki’s interest. Nobody other than his mother had come to see him, the scorned, power hungry and deceitful second son, of their own free will. Loki listened to their conversation.
“Do you think he’ll accept me, All Mother, I mean I don’t even know if he knows who I am” A sweet angelic voice asked his mother.
“Of course he will, dear. Loki has always wanted to meet his Soulbond even if rarely admits it. But I know my son”
Soulbond. Loki’s Soulbond came to visit him, his soulbond had seeked him out. When Loki had first noticed the name on his wrist had appeared and he apparently had met his other half, he was still slightly under Thanos’ mind control. But as the Soulbond fell into pace as he was walking on Midgard, the mind control snapped and lost hold of him. He was almost sure his soulbond wouldn’t want to be with him, the chances of his soulbond being Midgardian looked to be high and his new reputation on Midgard was everything other than good.
Frigga was the first to appear in Loki’s field of vision, before the next figure emerged down the steps. It was a beautiful woman, stil clad in Midgardian clothes. Loki vaguely remembered her as one of the Avengers he fought on Midgard. Loki would have been terrified that she had come only to formally reject him and cut their bond, had he not heard her question to his mother.
Their gazes met and as they stared at each other, the air around them became filled with electricity. It was a good thing Frigga was with her, because her body began moving towards Loki. Her mind was foggy as if she wasn’t completely aware of her actions, she completely followed her instincts and gravitated towards the other half of her soul. The cage glass disappeared and reappeared to let y/n into the cell courtesy of Frigga, and darkened the glass so nobody could peek in before leaving to let the newly formed soul bond mates have their privacy.
Y/n’s mind seemed to clear once her hand met the softness of Loki’s cheek. Loki leaned onto the soft touch, one of the rare ones he got since it held no ill intentions. Loki turned his face and kissed his name on her wrist.
“Hi” you whispered, afraid that raising your voice would break the tender moment.
“Hi, my darling ” Loki greeted back, holding back the urge to kiss the breath out of you. But he needed answers to a question first, to quell his insecurities. “Are you alright with me being you bond”
His earnest question took you off guard for a second, before relaxing and giving him a blindingly sweet smile. You cupped his face with both your hands, and put your foreheads together so you could look him in the eyes.
“Of course Loki, you make mistakes we all do, it's a part of life. We were made for each other, and I chose to trust fate when it tells me that you, Loki Laufeyson is the one who will love me as much as I will love you”
It was impossible to lie to Loki, he was the god of lies, so when he sensed the truthfulness of your words. He stopped suppressing his urge to kiss you. Your lips meet in a bruising and passionate first kiss, the soulbond had taken longer to fully activate since you were on two different worlds, so all the unknowingly built up passion came forward in that kiss.
Loki let one hand land on your waist to pull you closer to his body, while his other hand came to cradle the back of your neck to deepen the kiss. Your own hands had wandered off of his cheeks and into his hair. The kiss got softer but deeper, conveying all Loki’s longing for you. He had longed for years for his soulbond, and crossed his fingers they wouldn’t reject him.
Loki had you now, and he had no intentions of ever letting you go.

Summary: You ask Loki to give you something special for Christmas. A/N: This is a Secret Santa gift for @divine-knight-hand. I wanted to give you everything you requested, my love, but I already wrote something similar a while ago. For the sake of not sounding repetitive, I altered your request just a little bit. I hope you still like it. However, please check out the other story because it checks off all your points! And is Christmas-themed! Mayari: If You Let Me. Also, sorry for the cringy title. I couldn't think of anything else. Pairing: Loki x Female Reader Word Count: Over 2.7k Warnings: Explicit. Smut. P in V. Jotunn Loki (yes, cuz he's a whole warning!)

You crossed your legs as the last rays of the sun were trickling down on your body. Your book was discarded on the ground as the condensation from your Pina Colada dripped down onto the side table.
Loki had surprised you and whisked you away to the Fiji Islands for Christmas— no more crowded New York streets. No more dirty ice falling onto you from the splash of an oncoming taxicab. And certainly, no more missions and assignments till the New Year.
It had been an exhaustive nineteen-hour flight. Especially since he didn’t tell you anything he was planning. When you came home to your room earlier that day, you were greeted by Loki with two suitcases on either side of him.
“Merry Yuletide, Darling,” he said as he rolled your luggage over to you and kissed you on your lips in greeting.
“Loki- what?”
“No time to explain, we need to leave now in order to catch our flight,” he said ushering you out the door by patting you on the bum. You jumped up with giddiness, planting a lipstick-stained kiss on his cheek. He was always surprising you with little trinkets and excursions.
“Thank you, sir,” you said in a deep voice.
“Ooh, you dangerous nymph. Go on. I need my wits about me till we get on the plane. I can’t have you distracting me.”
“Then, after?” you asked luring him to a sinful promise.
“After,” he promised in the same breathy tone.
That was two days ago. Loki had kept his promise, and then some- inducting you both into the mile-high club several times over.
Now, here you were in a private villa surrounded by an infinity pool that stretched towards the Pacific, watching your godly boyfriend come out of the water. He ran his hands through his hair, combing the droplets from his tresses. Beads fell down the defined lines of his muscles causing you to heat up in the already balmy weather.
The sight of Loki, wet and in nothing but short swim trunks, was enough to make you convulse. You were sure that if Michelangelo had a model for David, it would’ve been Loki. And knowing Loki, you wouldn’t have been surprised if it was him.
He came up to you, lounging on your chair, and shook his wet hair in front of you to tease you. “St-stop!” you laughed as you playfully pushed him before you got completely wet.
“Awe, come on, Darling. I thought you liked me wet?” he charmed as he sat next to you and leaned in for a kiss.
“I have to admit, it is kind of refreshing.” You said as your hands guided themselves around his slick body. “It’s so hot here. I might need something to cool me down,” you tempted.
There was a flash of understanding in his face. Nights of hedonistic pleasure and anticipation of his moods taught you how to read him. If you weren’t so attuned to him- so zealously infatuated with him and his praise over you, you would have missed it. But you didn’t.
“What’s wrong?” you asked.
“Nothing. I just-” he paused for a second, trying to find the right words. “There was a reason why I chose Fiji.”
“You mean, the beautiful waters and sandy beaches weren’t enough of a reason?” you joked.
“It’s in the southern hemisphere. Which means that it’s summer here whilst still cold and winter back home.”
“Why would the season be an issue?”
“Contingency.”
“Contingency, for what?” you asked confused.
“It was about what you wanted for Christmas,” he answered slowly. Confusion still clouding your memory. Little bits and pieces of a long-forgotten conversation nipped at your mind as you tried to piece together what you had asked him to give you.
As if to remind you, Loki raised his hand and cupped your face. As he did so, his fingers turned a beautiful shade of blue. It was fair, yet sharp. It reminded you of the color of blue thistles on a cold afternoon.
As he touched your cheek, a shiver ran down your skin making you shudder for the first time since you arrived. Realization struck you as you remembered the conversation you two had a month ago.
“I think I know what I want for Christmas,” you lured him in. “And what is that, my Darling?” Loki said absentmindedly while looking through his mission briefing. “You." “You already have me,” he scoffed, placing a kiss on your forehead. “I meant…all of you…the other you…” you trailed silently. Loki looked at you bewildered. There were many nights he had dreamt of taking you in his other form, wondering how you would react to him. He’s postponed showing you this long because he was afraid of his feral nature. He would be at the mercy of his urges and base needs. Loki wasn’t quite sure how to ease you into that new situation. Would he be too much for you? Knowing your adventurous spirit, you wouldn’t mind having his beastly side take you. “Why, you little nymph. Now, why would you want to see that side of me, hmm?”
Excitement bubbled up inside you. “Loki, I-” you started, but he quickly put a finger to your lips to quiet you.
“I want this, Darling. And I want it with you. So, if at any point in time, you want to stop, you know our safe word.” You nodded your head enthusiastically and Loki chuckled. “But I should let you know, that…there was a reason why I’ve waited this long to show you. I become somewhat different when I change. Jotunns, in their very nature, are severe. Harsher. They have to be, to live in the climate they do, and survive.”
You sat there, fervently hanging onto every word Loki was saying. “We relied upon each other for strength, for warmth, basic needs…” Loki trailed off, tracing your lower lip with his cold finger.  “You can imagine the creativity we had in finding ways to keep our blood warm and stave off the frigid climate.” You nodded solemnly at his words as if they were gospel.
“If we do this, I need you to be in control. Do you understand me, Darling?” he asked, inching closer to you. You felt a shiver run down your body. You focused on his eyes as his lips weaved a spell for you to follow. “I won’t know how much is too much. How rough is too rough.”
Loki grabbed your hips and sat you on his lap. The sudden move made you yelp into his arms. “Sorry, my dear. You see, I’m already too excited. My body is reacting to you.” He ran his nose up and down your neck. His cold hands encircled your back, caging you on top of him. “I’ve wanted to take you like this for so long.” His hands entwined themselves with your hair and pulled as his lips met yours in a crushing kiss.
You held on tightly, with your legs wrapped around his waist, as Loki stood up and walked both of you to the edge of your bed. When he broke the kiss, you heard him moan before he continued to suck a bruise onto your neck.
You felt his body change. The hairs atop your skin began to stand as the temperature began to drop. The once-sweltering heat that prickled your skin was replaced by the cool tingles of his touch. It surrounded you and enveloped you in a cold caress. You finally understood the need for a warmer climate. With a slight force, he released you from him, falling onto the soft mattress below.
That was when you had your first glimpse of his true self. The beautiful shade of blue you had seen earlier spread throughout his body. His form was somehow sharper, more jagged. Yet still soft and giving. He had markings defined by fine lines and grooves. They traced over his muscles and sinew, highlighting the best parts of himself. You followed them with your eyes as it led your stare down to his protruding cock. Your jaw went slack as you noticed how hard he was for you already.
Loki watched you appraise him. Your wanton eyes grew darker, and your breathing got quicker. His senses picked up every reaction that your body was going through. He was prepared to confront your fear or disgust, but he couldn’t see that in your face. Instead, he saw hunger and need. He could smell your desire growing for him and it made him feral. He wrapped his hands around his shaft, stroking himself to the sight of you, ready and waiting on his bed.
Loki felt ravenous as he knelt over you on top of the sheets. He spread your legs apart, seating himself in between the warmth of your thighs. His heavy cock resting atop your wet cunt. His hands eagerly tore up your swimsuit as they explored and venerated your body. His lip’s sole mission was to mark bruises where his hands had trailed, following the chill of his touch.
“…Loki…”
“Shh, Darling. I won’t hurt you. Unless you want me to,” he winked as he nipped the underside of your breast. Too many emotions. Too many thoughts. They were swirling at the forefront of his mind wanting to be said. His desire for you was overwhelming him.
In this form, he felt more primal. His emotions were stronger and almost frightening, but all he felt was fire. Everywhere. An all-consuming heat that wouldn’t dissipate until he had claimed you. His need for you was never as aggressive as it was right now. If he wasn’t careful, he knew he could easily hurt you. He needed you to be in control.
“Don’t stop,” you begged him.
“And what would you have me do my Darling?” he breathed onto your skin. “Tell me, and I will comply.” Loki was giving you the green light. The authority to take over because he wasn’t sure if he could be gentle enough not to harm you.
Oh, but the fire. The fire inside him wouldn’t relent. “Shall I force my cock down your throat till you gag for me to stop?” he suggested with a grin. You bit your lip and moaned as the image took hold in your mind. You moved your hips involuntarily, rubbing against his hefty shaft.
“Maybe I’ll edge you for the rest of our stay. Keep you here tied to our bed, my little slave, until I’ve properly bred you.” Loki seized your lips and held you down on the bed. His cold hands capture your wrist in an icy grip.
“S’cold,” you gritted.
“You can take it. You don’t mind a little bit of frostbite. Don’t you, my love?” He ground his hips as he bit into the soft flesh of your shoulder, leaving teeth marks in their wake. You felt his hard cock rub against your sensitive nub. It elicited the most erotic noise from your lips. Loki fought to keep his composure. With every moan you made, it got harder and harder for him to control his urges.
“I thought this was supposed to be my Christmas present,” you sighed, regaining some form of authority and clarity. You intertwined your fingers with his and signaled him to turn over with your hip. You pushed his shoulders down onto the bed as you straddled his waist.
Loki looked up at you in all your glory. Your beautiful face shining down with love and adoration was enough to heal the worry and anxiety he was feeling. “I want to admire my present,” you pouted as your eyes took all of him in.
His mischievous smile broke through as he raised his arms and placed his hands behind his head. “As you wish,” he hissed as the corded muscles in his biceps swelled.
You traced his beautiful blue markings down from his arms to his pecs. “You’re beautiful,” you whispered absent-mindedly, getting lost in the exploration of his body. Loki blushed at your words. He had never heard that word describe his Jotunn form before and it ignited a warm glow inside of him. Different than the fire, but still heated.
You leaned over him as your study led you to his neck and handsome face. You traced his dark lips as he opened them. His bright ruby eyes concentrated on you. “I love my present,” you whispered before you gently kissed him. “Thank you.”
Loki deepened the kiss, his tongue invading yours, as he wrapped his arms around you once again. His cold touch left a trail of goosebumps as he squeezed and grabbed your ass. He raised you slightly with one hand. And with the other, he guided himself into your entrance. The slick of your arousal coating the tip of his hard cock. “Are you ready for me?” he grunted. You nodded your head, keeping your lips on his, not wanting to break contact.
He thrust deep into your body. His heels held on against the mattress of the bed. He held your hips stable as he continued to drive upwards slowly- savoring how snug you were around him.  Every pull of your tight pussy made him moan your name. “…yes…”  he whined.
You sat up, holding onto his shoulders for support. “I need you, Loki,” you pleaded. Your nails dug into his dark skin as your hips took over his strokes. “…deeper…faster…”
“Take me then, Darling. Use me.” He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He wanted to do this for you. To be good for you. With each push of your hips, he unraveled each time. Crowning to a tight knot in his abdomen.
You waited patiently for him to open his eyes and see the love and pride you had for him. When he did, you were met with an intense sparkle of carmine. Desire and vulnerability shone through, swirling in his gaze. His brows furrowed with pleasure as he bit his lip. “…oh, fuck…” he cried.
You moved faster. Your swollen clit rubbed against his dark curls adding to the already heightened pleasure you were building. You took his hands from your hips and guided them up your body. You placed them over your bouncing tits and he squeezed- rubbing your hardened nipple with his thumb.
“That’s my good little whore,” he gasped. “You like it rough don’t you?” You squeezed tighter around him in answer and Loki couldn’t stop the wolfish grin on his face.
He swallowed thickly watching you enjoy his touch. “Loki” you screamed. The only indication that you had reached your climax and was about to topple over. You trembled over his body screaming his name over and over as you came down from your bliss.
“Don’t stop, Darling.” He pushed harder into you. “Ride me,” he commanded. Loki watched as you clenched around his hard cock- disappearing into your wet folds. The sight was enough to make him tremble.
God, he was so much bigger in this form. You had to push hard to meet the hilt of his shaft. You raised your hips and dipped back down eliciting the deepest groan fleeing his lips. “That’s a good girl,” he whispered. “Fuckin’ good girl.” His head tilted back and the desire to claim you came back. He had to take you faster. Harder.
He dug his heels back into the mattress and slammed his hips upwards. The gasping air leaving your lungs, the wicked moans filling his ears. All of it coerced him to cum inside you- finally releasing his pent-up yearning. Loki couldn’t stop the moans or praises leaving his lips. Your name peppered in with teasing curses and praises.  “You always know how to make me feel good, don’t you, pet?” he prized as he took a deep breath to steady his exhaustion.
“Mmm, yes sir.” You kissed him ardently, taking his breath away from his already spent lungs. You trailed your kisses down to his neck and onto his panting chest. Each kiss made your lips tingle and chilly.
“We should probably get ready for dinner. What say you, my love?”
“Hmm? Maybe in a while…I’m not done playing with my Christmas gift yet.” You responded as your lips traveled further down towards his already hardening cock.
Loki smiled as he closed his eyes, savoring the feel of your warm tongue on his cool skin. “In a while,” he repeated. “Fuck…in a while.”
