teen reader who comes from our world with our version of Greek/other version mythology which is different from the ror world. Like reader being deathly terrified of Aphrodite(cue confused and slightly upset Aphrodite) since she appears to give harsh treatment to other beautiful women in some versions. Reader being confused Shiva didn’t destroy Zeus since apparently he’s stronger than him, etc. (hope I didn’t get any info wrong, sorry if I did)
-It had been an accident, you had been caught between two feuding gods, and due to it, you were sent to an alternate universe, one that didn’t seem so… so violent.
-There was still violence in this new world, but there seemed to be less of it.
-You found yourself in the alternate dimension’s Valhalla, which looked like a paradise, and after you arrived, literally with a bang, flash banging everyone, they were all stunned to see you there, looking confused as to where you were.
-The humans and gods, many whom you recognized but they weren’t the same as the ones you knew- something you were easily able to tell.
-Zeus was patient, listening to your words, about this other world, not overly afraid of him. He stroked his beard, a little confused, “Y/N- why aren’t you afraid of me?”
-You tilted your head to the side, confused, “You seem pretty nice, but you’re not one of the gods I had a lot of interactions with, Shiva killed you because he was stronger than you.”
-Shiva and Zeus looked at each other in shock and Shiva sent him a small grin before Zeus quickly responded, “Don’t even think about it.” Which caused some laughter to flitter through the room.
-You told them other things, looking around at the different warriors and gods around you- they were so unlike the ones you were used to, but they seemed curious about you, wanting to know more about their alternate dimension counterparts.
-Aphrodite approached you and many were stunned, Aphrodite included, when you reeled back in fear, looking downright terrified of her as you stammered, trying not to look directly at her.
-Aphrodite then spoke, “Y/N- why are you so scared of me?” you hesitated in answering, as your Aphrodite was a cruel woman, who wouldn’t hesitate to torture others whom she felt was a threat to her own beauty, men and women alike, and she was known to cut down those who she felt were unworthy when they looked at her.
-You told her the truth, hoping she would be forgiving if you told her the truth, you weren’t expecting to see so many, Loki, Buddha, several of the humans, and Zeus, to start roaring with laughter while Aphrodite pouted, looking annoyed that she was such a vengeful goddess- she used to be, but not so much anymore, and nothing to the degree you were describing her as.
-Loki slid up beside you, looking mischievous, “What about me?” you looked at him, “You’re the one who caused Ragnarok in my world- after you killed Baldr with mistletoe, then you brought Fenrir and the world serpent with the funny name to attack the gods. Fenrir ate Odin and Thor fought the serpent before dying from being poisoned. You then died after fighting Heimdall when you tried to escape.”
-Jaws were dropped and eyes were wide as Loki looked a bit sheepish, being glared at by Odin and Thor, “Hey now- I would never do that- but I do have to admit I am impressed!”
-Thor was quick to take a swing at him, making Loki hide behind you while Hercules was stunned, “Your world sure sounds scary Y/N- it’s almost intimidating to hear about the gods of your world.”
-You nodded softly, “I did my best to survive, especially when I went to Valhalla myself, I had to learn to keep my head down just to keep it attached to my neck.”
-They looked almost perturbed, hearing this, you were just a kid, in their eyes as everyone was a kid to them, before you spoke up, “Would I be able to stay here? You all seem nicer than those in my world.” Your request was a little surprising but Hades, who wanted to know more about this dark world you called home, ruffled your hair, “Of course you can Y/N.”
-You almost deflated, relaxing for the first time in who knows how long as you beamed, thanking them all. You were so happy to finally be safe!

tangle me in all your broken pieces (and watch me stay) | ch 1
Loki x Reader
Summary: An Asgardian god has just threatened your planet and you were called in to provide a little help. What you didn't expect was to develop a strange soft spot for said god, who hid more pain behind his cold facade than you thought possible.
A/N: Yes, this is chapter one. Yes, there are going to be more chapters. But one important thing to keep in mind with this particular series, is that the updates will not have a fixed schedule. This is a story I will update whenever I have time to write in between my other projects. Anyhow, I do hope you enjoy this random idea I had. <3

Fury came looking for you as a fail-safe. That was the simple way of putting it.
One of S.H.I.E.L.D's facilities had recently been attacked by someone who came from outside of your world; he'd taken what Fury called the Tesseract, twisted the minds of Agent Barton and Doctor Selvig, and worst of all, threatened to take over Earth. So when Fury came knocking on your door, on a rainy Saturday, you didn't have many options other than agreeing.
Rain pattered on the windows of your small apartment, the weather was rather cold today. You picked up two mugs from the cabinet, placed a bag of tea on each, and added hot water.
"I need you with me," Fury told you, taking the mug you handed to him.
You sighed, taking a seat on the armchair of your living room, "you're putting together a group of heroes. I'm not a fighter, uncle Fury, you know that."
"And I'm not asking you to be," he shook his head softly, leaning forward to place his mug on the coffee table after he took a sip, "if anything, I'll make sure to keep you away from any fights." He looked at you for a beat, and then; "but Loki has messed with the mind of one of my best agents, I cannot take that risk again, and you're the only one who can make sure it doesn't happen. Or fix it, if it does."
With that, you couldn't argue.
Your powers were something you had never asked for, never wanted, they simply happened. Your fourteen-year-old self woke up one day being able to pry into people's minds at will. You could feel their feelings if you wanted to, search recent memories if you focused long enough, and occasionally, do or fix much heavier damage. The full extent of what you could do was still somewhat of a mystery, now and then you caught yourself doing or feeling something new; just like that day when a stray cat had scared the shit out of you and you ended up exploding the can of soda on your hand.
After that incident a couple of years back, you had agreed to let S.H.I.E.L.D. study you just long enough to find out you had something along the lines of psychokinetic and telepathic abilities. Fury then had also told you that your big heart had given you empathic abilities as well; it was intended as a lighthearted joke, but you weren't so sure it was a joke anymore.
Because right now, you could feel hints of Fury's desperation just by looking at him. You nodded, "Yeah, alright. Give me a few minutes to pack."
─── ·❆· ───
S.H.I.E.L.D's Helicarrier was impressive, to say the least. It was an enormous aircraft that could literally disappear in a matter of seconds. Your nerves were still high even though you'd been aboard for a few days.
The main control room was the heart of the hive, so to speak. The place where most agents walked back and forth between the rows of computers, all overlooking the massive glass windows at the front of the aircraft. You stood just behind Fury's main control panels, leaning back on the big glass table. "Will Tony be coming too?" Your eyes roamed over the hustle and bustle of agents around you.
"He will," Fury didn't take his eyes off of the screens as he spoke, "was supposed to arrive with agent Romanoff, but we all know he likes his entrances."
A fond chuckle escaped you. Tony was a friend, you'd met him a few times because of Fury, he'd been a great help in figuring out your… condition, and you kept close contact with him ever since.
Out of the big windows in front of you, you watched as the ocean slowly drifted from view the higher you went into the sky. You could feel the familiar tingle in your stomach as you gained altitude fast. Maria Hill approached Fury not long after, informing him you were high enough to disappear, and so you did.
The sound of footsteps caught your attention and you turned around to see Natasha, Steve, and Doctor Banner walking in. A small frown appeared on your features when Steve handed ten dollars to Fury, but you didn't comment on it.
"Doctor Banner," Fury walked up and extended his hand for Bruce to shake, "thank you for coming."
The scientist looked around with the eyes of someone who hadn't known real peace in a while. You could feel a heavy wave of apprehension and uncertainty coming from him. "Thanks for asking nicely," he answered.
As they spoke, you walked over to Natasha, a small smile coming to your lips, "hey Nat."
Her green eyes lit up as soon as they caught sight of you, she was already opening her arms to pull you into a hug. "Hey, how have you been?"
You hugged her back just as tight, swinging gently from one side to the other. "Alright, you?"
"Well enough," she pulled away with a smirk already on her features and bumped your shoulder with her fist. "It's nice to have you around for a change, even if it's because the world is at risk."
You raised your hands in a half-hearted gesture of surrender while biting back a chuckle, "Point taken, I promise to visit more."
Fury called for your name and you turned to him, "I don't think you've been properly introduced to Doctor Banner." He gestured to his side and you reached out to shake Bruce's hand with a polite smile. "Banner, this is my niece."
Still holding onto your hand, he raised his eyebrows in a mix of excitement and surprise. "The telepath?" He looked from you to Fury.
You pursed your lips, suddenly feeling a little self-conscious. "That's me." You wondered if the people here saw you as one of the heroes too, which of course, you were not.
"I've read your file, the range of your abilities is remarkable."
Fury placed a hand on your shoulder to catch your attention. "Why don't you show Doctor Banner the lab he'll be working on? You can entertain his curiosity then."
"Of course," you buried your hands in your pockets as you tilted your head towards the door, "follow me, Doc."
The laboratory was like a playground for scientists. Filled with all the kinds of machines and computers one could hope for, surrounded by bright white walls and even brighter artificial lights that made your eyes hurt.
As the night stretched on you ended up hanging back with Bruce in his lab. His interest in your abilities didn't die down, but you found that speaking with him about it turned out to be quite easy. He was very smart, there was no doubt about that, having extensive knowledge in areas you didn't even know existed. But he was also kind.
It didn't take long for Fury to come to inform you that they had gotten a hit on Loki's location, Germany. You shared a look with Bruce then, knowing that all there was to do now, was wait.
─── ·❆· ───
"So you can just tell what everyone is feeling all the time, and manipulate those very feelings if you want?" Bruce leaned back on one of the workstations, a look of pure bewilderment in his eyes.
You chuckled, pushing yourself up and sitting on top of one of the desks. "Well, kind of. I can feel emotions if I want to, yes. Memories even, if I can focus on the person long enough. But the manipulating part is trickier," you tried to explain to the best of your abilities, fumbling with the sleeves of your black cardigan. "I can't… take away people's emotions, feelings, but I can ease them. Dull anger, or sadness, for example. But Fury believes that if there's something else intruding on someone's mind, I'd be able to counter it. That's why I'm here."
"That's fascinating," Bruce scratched his chin in thought, "it's almost like a mix of telepathy and empathy."
You hummed, "That's been my experience, yeah."
"What about the…" Bruce gestured around, and somehow you knew exactly what he was talking about.
A smirk came to your lips. You lifted your hand, and tiny white sparks danced between your fingertips, they were barely there, looking almost like a trick of the light. Suddenly the glasses that had been resting on top of Bruce's head flew to your grasp.
A genuine laugh escaped him while he muttered; "remarkable". You couldn't help but join him as you handed him back his glasses. It felt… nice, to have someone genuinely, innocently appreciating what you could do.
Suddenly, the sight of several guards walking past the laboratory's windows caught both of your attention. In the middle of them walked a man with slick black hair, wearing some sort of armor in black, green, and golden, and a devilish smirk on his lips as he looked at you.
Your gaze locked with his for a mere second, and a gasp fell past your lips as you took half a step back. Your heart was in your throat, because even through the glass windows, you could feel an immense pain squeezing your chest and suffocating your lungs. There was raw anger there too, desperation, loss. But the pain overpowered them all. And they came from him. Loki.
You gulped, forcing your gaze away so you had a chance to breathe. "They caught him," you mumbled, still feeling lightheaded from the punch he'd just dealt to your soul.
"Yeah, they did." Bruce's voice sounded far away still.
─── ·❆· ───
Loki wasn't the only new arrival, his brother Thor was also here.
You decided to hang back while everyone discussed how to proceed, leaning against the wall of the main control room as they sat around the glass table. From the camera images displayed on the screens, you could see Loki speaking with Fury, from inside the glass cage that wasn't quite built for him; he spoke with a tone of superiority that sounded like a defense.
Thor explained something about Loki having an alien army he would bring to Earth, and that he was trying to build another portal with the help of Doctor Selvig. You heard bits and pieces, after all, you weren't here to strategize attacks. Instead, your mind drifted to what you'd felt when you briefly locked gazes with Loki. His mind seemed… messy; as if he wasn't quite the only one there.
"I don't think we should be focusing on Loki." You heard Banner say. "That guy's brain is a bag full of cats. You could smell crazy on him."
"Have care how you speak." Thor spoke up, "Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard. And he is my brother."
"You mean he's never been like this before?" You finally spoke up, pushing yourself away from the wall and taking a few steps towards Thor. Your voice drew the eyes of everyone in the room for an instant. "That he's not himself?"
"Yes, Loki has always been one for mischief but never like this. My brother is not evil." The god explained.
"He killed eighty people in two days," Natasha added, raising an eyebrow at Thor.
"He's… adopted."
"I think you might be right, about him being beyond reason," you walked up to stay beside Thor, "when they brought him in I could briefly connect with his mind and… I don't know, it wasn't right."
"You mean to say he's been enchanted?" Thor looked down at you, sparks of hope dancing around him.
You could feel everyone's unwavering gaze on you as well. Your eyebrows scrunched in thought and you fumbled with your sleeves to ease the nervousness. "Kind of, yes. I felt as if he wasn't the only one in his own mind, there was something else there, twisting his thoughts and drive." You glanced up at Thor and then at your teammates around the table, "I may be able to fix it."
A rather loud call of your name captured your attention then. You turned around to see Tony Stark walking in, along with Phil Coulson.
"You always did have a heart of gold, picking up strays and insisting on fixing broken things," the billionaire said with a smile, walking up to you in that smug way only he could pull off, as he already opened his arms.
You mimicked his smile, naturally falling into his hug.
"How have you been, kid?" Tony asked while rubbing your back. He pulled away and kept a hand on your shoulder.
"Pretty good, considering an Asgardian god decided to invade my planet." You smirked back at him, stuffing your hands in your pockets.
"And now you're playing the I can fix him card, is that what I'm gathering here?" Tony pointed a finger at you, comically narrowing his eyes.
You sighed, averting his gaze, "I'm serious, Tony. If there's something invading his mind, don't you think I'd be able to counter it? That's- that's the whole reason why I'm even here."
"I think," Tony began, "you'd be able to do that, and much more. If you actually trained your abilities like I suggested-"
A groan escaped you.
"But you haven't done that, so it's a shot in the dark." He shrugged.
"If there is a chance to help my brother, I would take it," Thor spoke up, looking around to gauge everyone's reactions.
"And what if there isn't?" Steve asked, gesturing with his hands, "You said it yourself, you can't be sure. Is this a risk we're willing to take?"
"We won't be taking risks," you were quick to reassure him, taking a step forward so you were able to lean your hands on the glass table. "All I want is a chance to speak with him, nothing more for now."
"Absolutely not." Fury walked in, his steps large and meaningful as he walked up to stand before you. "You are not getting anywhere near that lunatic."
"I can accompany her to assure her safety," Thor offered.
"Thank you, Thor, but I need to go alone." You said, then turned to look up at Fury. "You called me here to help. Let me help."
Fury tilted his head, an annoyed frown coming to his lips. You knew you'd won.
"He's in pain. So much that I could feel it through the glass windows of the lab, uncle. He's not alone in his own mind. I just wanna talk to him." You pleaded. Why you suddenly cared so much about the very person who was threatening your home, you didn't know. Maybe you did have a heart that was too big for your own good.
Fury stole a single glance towards Stark, and after the latter nodded, he turned back to you. "Five minutes," he leaned just a tad closer, looking you straight in the eyes, "nothing more."
─── ·❆· ───
You closed your eyes, took in a deep breath, held it in your lungs, and then exhaled. You stared at the door that led to Loki's cell, giving yourself yet another pep talk. And then you pushed it open.
The round, glass cage was somewhat intimidating to look at. Built to contain and to kill, if needed. The artificial lights inside were bright, a contrast to the metal walls of the outside. There was a single bench in the back of the cage, but other than that, it was bare.
Loki had his back turned to you as he paced from one side to the other, hands clasped behind his back, as if waiting for something. His black and green attire stood out under the blinding lights.
Your steps were slow and quiet, you couldn't deny the racing of your heart, punching against your ribs in fear and anticipation—yet you kept an emotionless facade.
You could tell the exact moment that Loki felt your presence. He stopped pacing, waiting for a beat until, ever so slowly, he turned around to face you. His eyes were ice cold, a pale blue that made you shiver; his smirk was nothing short of devilish, worthy of a person who knew held all the cards in his hands. Loki looked at you up and down, and took a few steps forward so he stood right against the glass, as close as he could be to you. His gaze never once wavered.
"And who would you be?"
Silent. You kept silent for several moments. The nails you previously had piercing the skin of your palm in nervousness loosened their grip, a soft breath went past your lips, and your shoulders relaxed.
No, there was no reason for you to be afraid of him. Well, that would be an understatement. After all, you could easily sense the raw power and magic flowing through his veins. But that didn't instill fear in you, and neither did his empty threats. Because right now, as you finally looked him straight in the eyes, you easily slipped into his mind, his subconscious, his memories, and feelings.
More than anything, he was hurt; had been bleeding for long. But you were glad to confirm your suspicions, he was not alone in his mind; there was a plague in him, twisting and piercing into old wounds, worsening what was already there; it drove his anger and instilled fear and desperation in him for what would happen if he failed.
Looking into his eyes, you didn't feel fear. You felt sympathy.
At last, when Loki had started to look at you with a deep frown, you told him your name.
"Agent Barton hasn't told me about you." Loki's eyes roamed your features, undoubtedly determining if you were harmless or not.
"I'm afraid we aren't that close," you told him simply, keeping your voice gentle.
A low chuckle escaped Loki's lips then, "Did you come here simply by imprudent curiosity then?" He raised his chin higher. "Have you any idea who stands before you?"
You pursed your lips and took a step closer to him. His words sounded a little muffled to your ears as you struggled to focus. There was a faint burning sensation behind your eyes, a pressure in your head that spread to your entire body until it reached your fingertips. It was both familiar and unfamiliar. You'd never used your powers to this extent.
Loki had a strong mind, there was no doubt about that. Yet briefly, you could catch glimpses, a blurred array of memories even Loki tried to push away. You watched his fall from Asgard. His descent to what he thought, hoped would be the end. Until he was found. And then there were screams of pain and cries for help that nobody answered until he was forced to give up. Nothing was clear, everything twisted and scrambled, but enough to snatch your breath away and hold your heart in a vice grip.
He felt it, you know he did. The gentle whispers of you in his mind. You could tell the exact moment. All emotion and color drained from Loki's face, he took several steps back and away from you. For the first time, he wore an expression other than smug and confident. His bright eyes were wide and glimmering under the artificial lights, lips hovering open and quivering. It was a blink, a fraction of a second and then he was back in control.
"How dare you?!" He all but growled, fists closed tightly on either side of his body as erratic breaths went past his lips and nostrils. "Who do you think you are to try and pry into my mind?"
You felt as if there were cotton balls in your throat as you gulped, your vision went a little blurry. You shouldn't be feeling this way for someone who had literally threatened your home, but all you could hear right now was that same voice of his, begging for mercy.
Without a physical connection, Loki was able to keep you out of his mind pretty easily.
You sighed heavily, closing your eyes for a beat to recompose. You looked up at him then, unable to help the softness of your features. "What happened to you?"
Loki hesitated, even though he tried to hide it. He blinked, stumbling over his words; "I think you should be more worried about what I will do to you and everyone you've ever loved, you insolent, pathetic mortal."
His threats were emptier than you thought they would be. He felt exposed and was desperately trying to defend himself.
You shifted your gaze to the cameras around the room, biting into your cheek while you considered just how stupid and reckless it was what you were about to do. With your mind, you turned the lock on the door you'd just come from. In one swift stride forward, you were able to flatten your palm against the glass walls that held Loki; and with just a bit of struggle, you had him pushed and pinned against the bench on the far side of the cage.
"What do you think you're doing?" Loki snapped, he fought against the invisible force holding him, trying to get up and lift his hands, but to no avail. "Release me this instant."
"Sorry," you walked backward, keeping your eyes on him until you reached the control panel and pushed the button that opened the glass cage, "can't do that."
"If you think for one minute that your sorry excuse of magic can hold me down-"
"I know I can't." You told him as you carefully walked inside with him. He was strong, much stronger than you, and sooner or later he'd overpower you. "Not for long at least." You stood in front of him, looking down at his enraged form sitting down on the bench. "But maybe just long enough."
Right now, as Loki looked up at you with nothing but anger in his cold eyes, his lips in a thin line, and his eyebrows pulled together; you could say you felt a little scared.
Slowly, you raised both hands. Your fingers shook as you halted your movements just short of touching him. "I promise I just want to help you," you told him quietly, your eyes never leaving his.
"I will make you regret ever walking into this room," Loki spoke through gritted teeth, the muscles on his neck straining as he tried to break free.
"Maybe," you breathed, struggling to keep him in place, before unceremoniously cupping both his cheeks with your hands.
Loki opened his lips to, most likely, throw another insult at you, yet his words died in his mouth.
With your skin touching his, your soul entangling with his, you were finally able to enter his mind freely. You closed your eyes and made quick work of dissipating the plague infesting his brain, severing the connection he had with the creature that had tortured him, and freeing his subconscious from its influence and enchantment. It was harder than you wished and easier than you expected, pulling at the strings of your heart while you worked your power through him, but it was done. Loki's body was still healing from what they'd done to him, and now his mind would follow.
You also couldn't hold yourself back from dulling his pain and anger while you were at it. Trying to offer just a bit of peace to his troubled soul.
You opened your eyes again with a heavy gasp escaping your lips. Your lungs lacked air and you could taste copper on your lips. Blinking several times, you took a single glimpse at your faded reflection on the glass walls and noticed that a steady line of blood was trickling down your nose. You'd nearly gone past your limits.
With your hands still holding onto Loki, you risked a look down at him.
It was like a wave washing to shore, soft and calm after a heavy storm. His eyes slowly faded from a pale blue to a gentle green, glistening under the light, pupils blown wide as he kept his gaze fixed on you. A soft breath went past his lips and his eyebrows softened, it was as if for a brief moment he forgot where he was, and simply basked in the absolute relief of having his mind finally free. He stood bare before you.
A single tear trickled down his cheek and landed on your thumb. You brushed it away tenderly, and you thought he almost leaned into your touch. He blinked lazily then, and you saw his walls gradually coming back up.
You felt lightheaded, and with Loki coming back to himself, you took it as your cue to leave him.
Stumbling on your feet, you made your way out. You pushed the button and closed the glass door again.
Loki hadn't moved, even though you were not holding him in place anymore. He stayed seated, knuckles white as he gripped the edge of the bench and kept his gaze ahead, unfocused.
Once again, you touched the glass wall with your fingertips. It was indeed pathetic, that you felt a surge of protectiveness, of worry even, for the god who had threatened your planet.
"For what it's worth," you began quietly.
Loki's eyes drifted up to your face. His expression unreadable.
"I'm sorry for what you've been through." With that, you gave him a tight-lipped smile, and left.

The cavernous, dimly-lit warehouse echoed with the sounds of clashing metal and grunts of exertion. The Avengers were locked in combat with a band of mercenaries armed with advanced weaponry.
Tony was in the air, repulsor beams lighting up the darkness, while Natasha and Clint worked in tandem, their movements precise and deadly. Thor’s hammer, Mjölnir, was a blur as it struck down the enemies with thunderous force.
In the midst of the chaos, Loki stood with an air of detached amusement, casting spells with flicks of his wrists. His magic sent mercenaries flying, created illusions to confuse their ranks, and conjured barriers to protect the teammates. But Loki's magic, powerful and unpredictable, was also a bit reckless tonight.
Maybe it was the leather suit you were wearing today.
"Loki, for the love of—watch where you're aiming!" You shouted as you narrowly avoided being hit by a stray spell meant for an enemy.
Your eyes flashed with annoyance as you shot him a glare. "Are you trying to get us all killed?"
Loki smirked, eyeing you up, not taking you seriously. "Perhaps if you were more attentive, you wouldn't find yourself in such precarious positions, darling."
You scowled and ducked under a swipe from a mercenary, retaliating with a swift punch that sent your opponent sprawling.
Ugh, you hated how he always carried that stupid smirk.
"Maybe if your magic was actually useful, we wouldn't be in precarious positions to begin with!"
Loki's eyes narrowed slightly, a spark of irritation flashing through his otherwise calm demeanor. "Is that so? I seem to recall saving you from a similar predicament just last week."
"By causing it in the first place!" You shot back, dodging another mercenary's attack and taking him down with a well-placed kick.
Loki rolls his eyes and runs in the other direction. With a flick of his wrist, he conjured an illusion, making a group of mercenaries see each other as Avengers.
Confused, they turned on one another, giving the team a moment of respite. But the spell was too potent, and soon the illusion spread, affecting even the teammates.
Chaos erupted as friends and foes became indistinguishable.
"What the—" Tony exclaimed while flying over the scene.
"Damn it, Loki!" You screamed, ducking, as Natasha took a swing at you, mistaking you for an enemy.
"Enough!" Thor bellowed, his hammer smashing into the ground to create a shockwave that knocked everyone off their feet and dispelled the illusion.
The mercenaries, now disoriented, were quickly subdued.

The flight back home was quiet. Everyone was either tired, tending to their wounds, or just rethinking what happened back there.
Once you landed, the rest of the Avengers stepped down the Quinjet and walked into the building to their rooms.
"Loki, wait." Steve calls out and walks towards Loki in the lobby.
“About today—”
“Nobody died, Rogers.” Loki replies.
"That is not an achievement," You murmur to yourself loudly on purpose for him to hear while taking a sip from your favourite grey-coloured sipper.
Loki and Steve both glanced at you, with Steve carrying a hint of a smile on his face while Loki scowled and turned back to Steve.
You could tell he was not impressed.
A win for you.
Steve clears his throat, turning serious once more. "Look, what happened today was not good. We cannot work as a team if we don't know half of your tricks."
Loki grins. "Well, that's the fun, isn't it? A surprise for everyone.”
Steve raises his eyebrows. "But it isn’t helping, Lo-"
"Helping? His magic is useless half the time."
Loki shoots an eye at you when you say that, and you could tell the God wasn't pleased.
"He's showing off in front of everyone, like the arrogant ass he is." You go on, while Loki watches you with his grave, sharp eyes.
Why wasn't he replying with his usual snarky comments today?
Steve gives a light chuckle and pats Loki's shoulder as if feeling sorry for him, "Be careful next time, that's all I ask," and walks away through the corridor, leaving you and Loki to yourselves.
While waiting for the elevator, you silently stand in front of the doors, waiting for it to arrive.
Until you feel a hard pressure against your back.
The sensation is unmistakable—a solid, unyielding presence, warm and firm. Loki's chest. His closeness sends an involuntary shiver down your spine. You can feel the steady rise and fall of his breath and subtle heat radiating through his clothes.
You stiffen, unsure whether to move away or stay still, the elevator's arrival feeling like an eternity away.
You decide to say something to break the uncomfortable silence.
"Ego broken, Loki~?" You say his name in a sing-song voice.
"Do you enjoy testing my patience, mortal?" he says, leaning down to your ear.
"Someone has to keep you in check," you reply, your voice steady despite the proximity.
The elevator reaches your floor, and with a little chime, its doors open. You proceed to take a step forward to enter the elevator when his hand grabs hold of the back side of your neck and pulls you back to him.
"Careful," he almost whispers, his breath ghosting over your skin, "your tongue is going to get you in trouble one day."
You pause for a moment, feeling the tension thicken in the air, before you turn your head out of his hands to look at him. "Oh, I'm sorry, did I hurt the big bad trickster's feelings?" You taunt, your voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Maybe if your magic wasn't so unreliable, we wouldn't be in these messes. Or do you need Daddy Odin to give you some pointers on how to actually be useful?"
Loki's eyes flare with fury, and in no time he grabs your neck once again and strides into the elevator, pinning your head to the panels. His body pressed against yours with a force that left little room for doubt about his intensity.
His frame, tall and lean yet undeniably strong, exerting a commanding presence as he pins you against the cool metal of the elevator wall. You can feel the heat emanating from his body, a stark contrast to the chill of the metal against your cheek.
He was so close to you, you could smell his sultry, intoxicating smell on him.
"You think my magic is useless, don’t you..." He whispers, his breath ghosting on your skin. "I’ll make sure you regret saying that."
"I don't "think", it's a fact." You try to push him back with your elbow. “Let me go, Loki.” You say it firmly.
"Not yet, vixen." He says so, and the elevator doors shut by themselves. And with one flick of his fingers, the front chain of your tight leather suit yanked open down to the end of your belly.
Did he just–
"I’ll make sure to demonstrate how useful my magic can be." He says and looks down to notice you were not even wearing a bra underneath.
He grins at the sight, licking his lower lip. "Naughty girl." He coos in your ear while his fingers work their way to your belly.
His fingers, though possessing a hint of coldness at first, quickly warmed against your skin as they made contact with your belly. Each touch sent a jolt of electricity through you, igniting a fire that danced just beneath the surface.
"Let. Me. Go." You say, trying to stand your ground, but your attempts are futile.
"Told you no, darling." He says while his fingers trailed up to your nipples, sending a shiver down your spine as goosebumps rose in their wake.
It was a sensation that left you feeling exposed and vulnerable, yet strangely exhilarated by the raw intensity of his touch.
He slides down your suit from your shoulders, proceeding with a graze of his tongue on your skin.
"Mmm…sweet," he murmurs, sucking on your shoulder, "unlike those words you use."
"FUCK. YOU." You reply with a gruff.
Loki chuckles darkly against your skin, his breath hot and tantalizing. "Oh, darling, you will," he murmurs, his voice dripping with seductive menace. "But not before I teach you to respect a God."
He pulls down your suit lower, his lips kissing the back of your neck, followed by melty little kisses down your bareback. Despite your discontent, you couldn’t help but feel turned on by him.
As Loki pushes down your suit to your thighs, his eyes catch sight of a small tattoo etched on the inside of your thigh. The ink reads the name of your ex-boyfriend. Loki's eyes darken with a mix of curiosity and possessiveness.
He paused, his brows furrowing as he read the name inked there. "Well, well, well," he murmured, his voice a mix of curiosity and disdain. "So that’s what your little skirt was hinting at the meeting a few days ago..."
He traced the tattoo lightly with his finger, sending a shiver through your body.
So this bastard was always watching you?
You grit your teeth, anger and embarrassment flushing through you. "It’s none of your business, Loki."
He tightens his grip on your neck slightly—not enough to hurt, but enough to assert his dominance. "I know."
"But this mark... it irks me. An insignificant mortal claiming a part of you." He pinches your thigh, and you try to jerk away your leg but cannot.
You squirmed against his grip, but he held you firmly, his eyes dark and intense as they bore into yours. "Let it go, Loki," you demanded, trying to maintain your composure.
He leaned closer, his lips brushing against the tattoo. "Why should I?" he whispered, his voice a dangerous purr. "Why should I let some forgotten lover's mark go unchallenged?"
He gives you a rather harsh bite on your shoulder, trailing his lips to kiss your neck, which makes you whimper, which makes him grin.
He pulls away a bit, and with the flick of his wrists, an invisible force pins your arms above your head, securing you in place against the elevator wall. You struggle briefly, but the bonds hold firm. Loki steps back, his eyes raking over your exposed form with a predatory gaze.
Before you could retort, he bent down, turning his body against the elevator and facing you from below. He kissed the tattoo with deliberate slowness, his lips soft and maddeningly sensual.
The act was both possessive and teasing, with his tongue swirling repeatedly on the same spot that was making you crazy. You gasped, the sensation overwhelming, and a part of you hated how your body responded to his touch.
"Shh, people can still hear us, darling. Even if they cannot enter." He says placing pecks up and down your thigh, evaporating your steady facade away.
"Now, let's see what other secrets you're hiding," he murmurs, his hands sliding down to your hips. He hooks his fingers under the waistband of your panties, slowly pulling them down and exposing you completely.
You saw his eyes almost sparkle at the sight, placing a kiss on your mound, making you flinch against the metal. Where and when did your suit disappear? You didn’t know.
He leans close and starts exploring your already wet clit with his tongue. Holding your waist in his hands, he kept stealing glances up at your aroused form, watching your expressions while you gasped every time his warm tongue darted on your needy pussy.
The god had a talent for his tongue. The silver tongue.
"Are you still with him?" He murmured, pulling away his face from your pussy, making you let out a complaining whine.
He holds up his two fingers to caress your folds. "Answer."
"N-no…" You answer, your voice quivering in pleasure.
"Then why isn’t it off?" He says this, glancing at your tattoo.
"I never…Loki-"
He pushes two fingers in. "You never what?"
You shudder as Loki's fingers push inside you, his question hanging in the air, demanding an answer. Your mind races, caught between the intense pleasure and the need to explain yourself.
"I never... had the chance," you manage to gasp, your voice barely steady. "It didn't mean anything anymore. I just...fuck-forgot about it."
Loki's eyes narrow slightly as he studies your face, his fingers moving slowly inside you, curling and stroking in a way that makes coherent thoughts nearly impossible. He doesn't seem entirely convinced.
"Forgot about it?" he repeats, his voice low and dangerous. "Or perhaps you wanted a reminder of something you couldn't let go?"
"No…" You moan, writhing against the panel with your hands above your head, your fingers aching to dive into his hair.
He starts to pump his fingers in and out of you with a deliberate rhythm, his thumb circling your clit with maddening precision. You squirm, your faint moans echoing the elevator.
"Good," he murmurs, his voice a seductive purr. "Because I don't share, darling. And I don't like to be reminded of what once was."
You moan, your body arching against his touch. His words send a thrill through you, and the possessiveness in his tone both intimidating and exhilarating.
"You know I can just turn you into a pretty mannequin for me so I can do whatever I want with you…but I want to feel you squirm... to mewl... like a little prey." He says watching your face while feeling your pussy start to clench around his fingers.
"Now, let's make sure you never forget who you belong to, hm?" Loki whispers, his lips brushing against your thigh as he speaks. His mouth returns to your clit, his tongue flicking and sucking with a relentless intensity that drives you wild.
"Yeah, that’s right, just keep on making those little sounds for me." He says it with a satisfied smile curling on his lips, and he resumes his ministrations with renewed fervor.
The combination of his fingers inside you and his mouth on your clit sends you spiralling into a mind-shattering orgasm, your body convulsing with pleasure as you cry out his name.
As the waves of ecstasy subside, Loki slowly withdraws his fingers. He stands, his eyes locking onto yours. He releases your binds away and turns you to him, and his thumb caresses your lower lip as if studying it for a second before he holds you against the wall, cupping your cheek, and kisses you almost fiercely.
And gosh, you needed that. You needed that and more.
"Y/n, is that you?"
Both of you freeze to your seats when you hear Thor’s voice outside the elevator.
Loki's eyes narrow in annoyance, and he quickly glances towards the elevator doors. "Shh," he murmurs against your lips, his voice barely a whisper. "We wouldn't want to get caught now, would we?"
He continues exploring your mouth, and the kisses start spreading to your neck, tongue, and teeth, making their wild appearances every once in a while.
Until you couldn’t help it and let out a moan.
"This door is not openi- Y/n??" Thor repeats again. "Wait, let me call Stark.-"
Your heart races when Thor calls out again because of your moan. Loki’s eyes narrow, and he pulls away. "Are you doing this on purpose? Just another one of your games so we can get caught and you can have your fun?"
He gives your pussy a little slap, and you whine a no.
In a swift motion, he wraps his arm around your waist, pulling you tightly against him. You barely have time to register the shift before the air around you shimmers and the familiar confines of the elevator vanish, replaced by the opulent and dimly lit interior of a room unknown to you.
Tumblr media
The room is a stark contrast to the sterile metal of the elevator. Rich tapestries line the walls, and candles flicker, casting a warm, golden glow. A large, ornate bed dominates the space, its dark, luxurious linens inviting in a way that makes your heart race.
Loki wastes no time. He sweeps you off your feet, carrying you to the bed with an urgency that sends a thrill through you. He lays you down gently, his gaze intense as he takes in your still-naked form. His hands trace over your skin, as if committing every inch to memory.
The air is thick with the scent of sandalwood and something uniquely Loki—intoxicating and alluring. "Now, where were we?" He purrs, his fingers tracing a delicate line down your spine, sending shivers through your body.
You can barely catch your breath; the intensity of the moment overwhelming. "Loki, what if Thor—"
"Thor won't find us," Loki interrupts, his voice a low growl. "This is my domain. No one enters without my permission."
"Now," he whispers, his lips brushing against your ear, "let us continue our little magic demonstration."
The silken sheets cool against your heated skin, and with Loki's hands everywhere—caressing, teasing, exploring every inch of your body—his touch both gentle and demanding, leaving you breathless and craving more.
"So beautiful," his voice dripping with seductive menace as he conjures a binding spell that secures your wrists to the bedposts.
You gasp, your body arching against the restraints, as Loki's mouth finds your breasts, his tongue swirling around your nipples with maddening precision. The sensations are overwhelming, and your mind is lost in a haze of pleasure and need.
Loki's mouth moves with deliberate precision, his tongue tracing intricate patterns over your breasts. Each flick of his tongue sends jolts of pleasure through your body, making you arch and writhe against the silken sheets. The restraints on your wrists keep you firmly in place.
"Loki…"
"Mhm," he hums, enjoying your squirms. But he wanted more.
He uses his powers to amplify his touch, making your nerve endings sing with heightened sensitivity. You gasp and moan, the intensity of his magic overwhelming your senses.
You can feel the magic pulsating through you, heightening your awareness of every touch and every kiss. His lips move from your breasts to the sensitive skin just below, his tongue flicking out to taste you. The combination of his mouth and his magic almost too much to bear.
His free hand trails down your body, leaving a path of fire in its wake. As his fingers reach your inner thighs, you feel a new surge of his magic, more potent and concentrated. It wraps around your thighs, making your muscles quiver with anticipation.
Loki conjures small, delicate tendrils of magic that wrap around your nipples, gently tugging and twisting. The sensation is unlike anything you've ever felt before—a perfect blend of pleasure and pain that leaves you gasping for breath.
He moves lower, his mouth leaving a trail of hot, open-mouthed kisses down your belly. The tendrils of magic follow his path, amplifying every sensation, making you feel as if your skin is on fire. You can barely think or breathe; your mind consumed by the overwhelming pleasure.
As he reaches your hips, his fingers part your folds, and you feel a rush of cool air against your wetness. His mouth hovers just above your clit, his breath hot and tantalizing.
"Tell me, darling," Loki whispers, his lips brushing against your most sensitive spot, "how does it feel to be at the mercy of a god?"
Before you can answer, his tongue flicks out, teasing your clit with delicate, precise strokes. His magic enhances every touch, making you moan and writhe against the restraints. You can feel your orgasm building, the pleasure coiling tight in your belly.
"Loki I-" He sees your upcoming orgasm and pulls away quickly, enjoying your needy, complaining moan for him.
"Not so easy, darling."
And with another display of his magic, he completely gets rid of his clothes, his disrobed body turning you on even more, the heat of need between your legs almost unbearable.
He brings his already-hard cock near your lips. "Kiss it." and you do, the light hum of satisfaction he makes making you want to absolutely suck him out rather than just a little kiss.
"My filthy little vixen," he says, eyes blazing with hunger as he positions himself between your legs. His grip tightens on your hips, holding you in place as he teases your entrance with the tip of his cock, the sensation sending shivers of anticipation through you, "get ready for your god."
He lets out a low growl, a dark and seductive sound, before slowly pushing into you, his length stretching and filling you completely. The feeling is exquisite, with every inch of him sending waves of pleasure coursing through your body.
"You feel so perfect," Loki murmurs, his voice husky with desire. "Every part of you was made just for me."
He begins to move, slow and deliberate, his thrusts deep and controlled. Each motion designed to draw out the maximum pleasure to make you feel every inch of him. The binding spell keeps your wrists secured to the bedposts, preventing you from reaching out to touch him, to claw at his back as the pleasure intensifies.
Loki's eyes never leave yours, the connection between you palpable and electric. He leans down, capturing your lips in a searing kiss, his tongue exploring your mouth with the same intensity as his thrusts. You respond eagerly, your moans muffled against his lips, your body arching to meet his.
His magic continues to amplify every sensation, making your skin hypersensitive, every touch sends sparks of pleasure through you. The tendrils of magic around your nipples tighten and twist, adding to the overwhelming pleasure coursing through your body.
"Loki," you gasp, barely able to form coherent words. "I can't... it's too much..."
He smirks, his eyes dark with lust. "You can take it, darling. You will take it. You will take everything I give you."
His pace quickens, and his thrusts become more urgent and more demanding. The bed creaks beneath you, the sound mingling with your moans and the wet, slick sounds of your bodies moving together. The pleasure builds rapidly, creating a coiling heat in your belly that threatens to consume you entirely.
Loki's hand moves between your bodies, his thumb finding your clit and rubbing in tight, precise circles. The additional stimulation pushes you closer to the edge, your body trembling with the effort to hold back your impending orgasm.
"Come for me, darling," Loki commands, his voice a low, seductive growl. "Come for your god."
His words are your undoing. With a cry, you shatter, the orgasm ripping through you with an intensity that leaves you breathless and shaking. The pleasure is overwhelming, your vision going white as wave after wave of ecstasy crashes over you.
Loki continues to thrust through your orgasm, prolonging your pleasure, his own release imminent. His movements become erratic, his grip on your hips tightening as he chases his own climax.
You can feel him throbbing inside you, his breaths coming in ragged gasps as he finally lets go, his own orgasm ripping through him.
With a final, powerful thrust, he spills into you, his groan of pleasure vibrating through your body. He collapses on top of you, his weight comforting and grounding as you both catch your breath, the aftershocks of pleasure still coursing through you.
For a moment, there's only the sound of your ragged breathing, the scent of sex and sweat heavy in the air. Loki's hand comes up to gently cup your cheek, his thumb brushing away a stray tear of overwhelming pleasure.
"Fuck, you drive me wild." He murmurs breathlessly.
"Did you like that, darling?" Loki murmurs against your skin, his voice a seductive purr. "My magic can do so much more."
You breathlessly chuckle while he traces patterns on your skin. His fingers caress down to your thigh, where he glances at your tattoo.
"We can’t have that." He says in a low voice and grazes his hand over your skin, and the tattoo vanishes.  Loki’s touch lingers on your thigh where the tattoo once was, his magic leaving your skin smooth and unmarked.
"And now you’re mine."

"Fuck...fuck...fuck..." (Y/n) on repeating as Lorenzo looked desperate to make her stop. He looked around the room nervously and tried to find something to entertain her.
'Ahhh Lavinho, why did you open your mouth?!' Lorenzo thought, finding one of his footballs a whistling.
"Hey, (Y/n)!" He yelled, causing the girl to look at him in surprise.
"Watch this!" He started kicking the football up in the air repeatedly, which for a 2 years old was enough to be impressed by. (Y/n) gasped and watched with wide eyes as Lorenzo kept performing the same trick.
'Hopefully this will distract her enough to forget the word.' He looked over at the toddler.
'I still wonder when she will return to her normal self... it's been over a week...'
"So, mind talking?" Noa glared down at a pouting Lavinho, who was being glared at by Bachira and Otoya as well.
"Look, it was an accident. I didn't expect her to remember that word of all things."
Snuffy sighed, sending a warning glare towards Barou and Niko, who looked ready to make a snide remark.
"And how and why did you say it om front of her?! My poor child..." Chris sniffed, earning embarrassed looks from Chigiri and Reo, meanwhile Nagi was filming everything.
'Wonderful blackmail.' He thought.
"Alright, alright. It was a mistake, it happens-"
"No it doesn't, Snuffy!" Chris and Barou yelled.
"As I was saying! Accidents happen." Snuffy repeated, looking at the two.
"Did Ness wake up?" Loki looked over at Kaiser, who nodded his head while pointing at the boy.
"Yes, Isagi and Kunigami are explaining what had happened." Loki looked over at the German team, shivering a little as he saw the look Ness was sending towards Lavinho.
"A-anyways, maybe an explanation on why you said it in front of her will help?" Loki suggested, looking at Noa for help.
"Julian is right. What even happened?" Noa questioned the man, now all the attention on the Brazilian.
"Well... you remember how (Y/n) wanted to spend time with me the other day-"
"You took her! It was my time to play with her." Loki corrected the man, earning a snicker from Karasu.
"So lame." Rin comments as Tokimitsu looked nervously at a pissed off Yukimiya and Hiori.
'They are so scary when mad.'
"As I was saying!" Lavinho spoke up again.
"I was carrying her around and she... kind of... you know..."
"What?" Chris asked.
"She kind of slipped, out of my hands." The room fell silent for a moment as they looked at Lavinho in disbelief.
"So you let her fall on the ground?!"
"Coach, what the hell man?!" Bachira and Otoya yelled, murderous auras surrounding them both.
"Calm down you two." Kunigami said, sending a glare at Lavinho as well.
"I caught her before she hit the ground! And it kind of slipped out of my mouth!" He added in quickly, shivering a little at the silent looks Snuffy and Noa were sending him.
"It kind of slipped your mouth?! How about my fist slips onto your face!" Chris argued, red in the face. Loki took his time to hold Rin back from attacking Lavinho.
"Stop it, Rin." The Frenchman warned.
"Let me go." The younger said back.
"Kurona, what are you doing with your teeth? Please don't bite him." Isagi told the pink-haired boy.
"But!"
"No- Yukimiya! Help Hiori hold Ness back!" The brunette stopped death staring at the Brazilian coach and looked over at the said duo. And true enough, Hiori was trying his best to hold Ness back from killing the man.
Kaiser, Gagamaru, Niko, and Aryu were simply glaring at Lavinho, not saying anything since they were scared of Snuffy and Noa's glares.
"This is why I don't leave you alone with her! My poor child must have been scared at that moment!" Chris sighed dramatically as he walked over to them. The trio from Manshine were busy hiding knives from Barou and Kunigami.
"What happened, Lorenzo? Why did you need extra clothes?" The Italian looked nervously at Anri, his face a bright red shade.
"I-I-I..." Lorenzo gulped as Anri raised her eyebrow.
"What happened? Did (Y/n) throw up on you?" The woman asked, inspecting his clean clothes.
"N-no... I promise, I didn't see anything!" The Italian defended himself.
"See what?"
"(Y-Y/n) returned back to normal." Lorenzo said, turning redder.
"What?! Oh thank God! I was so worried this will last forever!" Anri sighed in relief, then looked at Lorenzo in confusion.
"Why do you look worried? And why did you need the clothes?"
"Well... uhm..." He fidgeted around. It took Anri a moment, then her eyes widened in realization.
"O-oh! I will deal with it. Stay here!" Anri said, walking into Lorenzo's room.
A while later, Anri walked out of the room.
"It's fine now, she just fell asleep. I hope you don't mind." The woman said.
"I-it's fine. Should I leave her here or?" Lorenzo asked, walking into his room and looked at (Y/n)'s sleeping form.
"You can bring her to her room." Anri shrugged, groaning as she got another call from Ego.
The boy nodded his head and carefully put (Y/n) on his back, carrying her put of the room.
"Whatever had possessed (Y/n), exhausted her enough to fall asleep so fast." Lorenzo muttered to himself, smiling a little as he glanced at her sleeping face.

The second son of Asgard was different. It was the first thing you noticed, naturally. It was seemingly the only thing anyone else noticed. Whispers constantly rippled through the court about Loki, and they were never flattering. People noted his icy demeanor. They commented on how he didn't quite seem to fit in with the rest of the royal family. Particularly, they compared him to Thor and voiced their relief that Loki was not first in line for the crown. The Cold-Blooded Prince, they called him with a wink, but of course only ever when out of earshot.
It was something you could never understand. You found Loki much more appealing of the two. He was mysterious and quiet and there was always an air of danger surrounding him. His grin was like a threat. Even when he stood at rest there was something menacing about him. As if he could attack at any moment. It was exhilarating. You seemed to be the only one who was drawn to him in this way. Once, while mingling with other ladies of the court, you had made the mistake of airing your admiration. They had been chittering on about Thor and his pleasing qualities. When you casually mentioned that you found his brother to be more handsome the conversation had come to an immediate halt. The other ladies fixed you with stares of disbelief, mixed with hints of disgust, before finding some excuse to disburse. From then on you kept your thoughts to yourself, and silently appreciated the vibrant green of his eyes, the set of his jaw, the way his body swayed when he walked. In fact, the taboo may have made him that much more enticing.
Beyond the whispers and rumors, Loki did not face much friction in the court, with one exception. A very important ambassador from Vanaheim had come to reside at the palace. Loki had no particular quarrel with the ambassador himself. However, this ambassador's greatest joy in life was a very spoiled cat. This cat, of all things, was Loki's nemesis.
It started one evening at dinner. Loki's favorite wine was being served, and the cat was allowed to saunter up and down the table, to the prince's great annoyance. The beast seemed to take notice of Loki's irritation, and stopped in front of him, looked at him directly in the eyes, then knocked a wine glass over toward his seat. Loki quickly stood with a hiss and looked to be ready to destroy the pest right there, but froze when he caught a glare from the Allfather. "Oh, ho, my precious girl is a curious one." The ambassador laughed as the cat returned to his side. "Please forgive her, your highness." Loki cast one more glance at Odin, whose stern look made it clear that a scene was not to be made, then swiftly turned away from the table and left the hall. The cat looked for all the world to be gloating. You wondered at how such blatant disrespect was tolerated.
It carried on from there. Somehow the cat seemed to sense that Loki hated it, and somehow it knew it was beyond retribution. It would swat at Loki has he passed in the halls, it seemed to purposely occupy his favorite reading nook, and on occasion it had even made its way to the library and sank its claws into tomes that Loki happened to be studying recently. Always these taunts occurred in front of witnesses, the cat was very careful not to provoke the prince when he was alone. As time went on the cat grew more brazen and Loki grew increasingly frustrated with his inability to retaliate.
Today it seemed the ambassador had brought his little darling into a council meeting. You were loitering in the adjoining hall, hoping to catch a glimpse of the prince as he left. You couldn't be sure what exactly transpired inside, but clearly the pattern of feline impertinence had continued. When the meeting ended, Loki burst through the doors, looking furious. Thor was keeping in stride beside him, trying to placate his brother.
"Loki, it is only a cat. You shouldn't let it get under your skin like this." The only response from the younger prince was a low growl. "They do not live for very long. You'll be rid of it soon enough, in the grand scheme." Thor offered.
That was all you could hear as you watched them pass. And watch them, you did. Loki was handsome even in his fury, perhaps even more so. His strides were forceful, his jaw clenched. His horns glinted in the light and muscles tensed and bulged beneath intimidating scale. You bit your lip as you imagined the power held therein. The brothers soon disappeared, and you lamented that his mood meant your glimpse was brief. You didn't leave immediately, as you didn't want to make it obvious why you had been here, but you couldn't linger for long or you might miss your afternoon appointment.
Most afternoons found you in the palace gardens, on a bench near one of the decorative ponds. You pretended to be absorbing the splendor of the garden, or enjoying the fine weather, or occasionally you pretended to read. Your true purpose, of course, was to see Loki. Every afternoon he came here to swim, and the affair was always spectacular. The way he effortlessly cut through the water, the way it rolled over his back, the wake parting behind him. It was beauty in motion. As he made his laps around the pond the ornamental fish and ducks frantically fled from his path. They recognized him for what he was: a predator.
As captivating as it was to watch him move so elegantly through the water, your favorite part came after. When he felt satisfied in this exercise he would climb out of the pond and lie in the sun. His full body stretched out on the grassy bank, eyes closed, mouth slightly parted. It felt like a sin to gaze upon him, but that didn't stop you. You might imagine yourself lying beside him, basking in the light. You would whisper your adoration and tenderly remove any stray leaves or lilies that had caught on him during his swim. You wondered what his skin felt like. Was it rough? Or deceptively smooth? You day-dreamed about trailing your fingertips across his shoulders, or down the ridges of his back. You would place a playful kiss on his nose, or perhaps several decidedly less playful along his jaw.
Eventually he would open his eyes and leave for some other business. Sometimes he would pass your bench as he left. If he ever noticed you, he gave no sign of it. Never even a glance in your direction, to your disappointment.
You passed your days like this, pining over a prince who wasn't even aware of your existence. Placing yourself where you might admire him surreptitiously. Stealing glances at banquets while pretending to share the other ladies' fascination with Thor.
One quiet evening you found your way onto one of the less-trafficked balconies of the palace. Typically this would be a place of solitude, where you could look out over the grounds and perhaps contemplate your foolishness. Sometimes you might imagine Loki joining you here. He would find you alone and you would catch his attention, strike up a conversation. In your wildest fantasies he already knew your name. Tonight, though, you weren't afforded the opportunity of dreaming about him finding you here. He was already on the balcony when you arrived.
You stopped with your breath caught in your throat. His head was tilted upward, gazing at the sky. He was even more beautiful in the moonlight. You stood transfixed by his slender profile bathed in silver. You wondered what those piercing eyes were searching for in the heavens. You finally remembered yourself, quietly cleared your throat and smoothed your dress before dipping into a curtsy. "Good evening, your highness."
He looked at you. He truly looked at you! Your eyes met, and he even gave the slightest nod of acknowledgement before he looked back to the stars. You calmly carried yourself to the stone balustrade, matching his silence though your head was swimming with joy. Quite some time passed like this, the two of you silently sharing the view while you desperately tried to find some reason for him to look at you again.
You were watching him from the corner of your eye when it happened. Possibly the only thing that could spoil your mood. The ambassador's cat came strolling out onto the balcony. The creature seemed to have an innate sense of where Loki was at all times. Loki noticed it too, and you saw him tense, his jaw clenching. The pest was so bold, confident as always that it was beyond punishment. Loki's glare did nothing to deter it on its lazy promenade. Your irritation had risen as well, but it immediately dissolved as something occurred to you. The cat knew it was protected by witnesses, but it was only you and Loki on the balcony tonight.
"It seems we have vermin in the palace." You state pointedly. Loki looks at you in surprise for a moment, before a conspiratorial glint flashes in his eyes. He then became very still, and you recognize that he is lying in wait. The cat continued its haughty approach, rubbing itself against the prince along the way. Loki's face was one of strained anticipation, waiting for his moment. Finally, the careless cat, secure in its invulnerability, stepped in front of the prince, close to his face.
In one swift motion Loki lunged and effortlessly snapped the cat up in his powerful jaws. He quickly thrashed his head side to side, his tail swinging to counterbalance, before swallowing the creature whole. It was breathtaking. The entire feat had only taken moments.
You took a breath and regained your composure, wearing a sly smile. "Very good, my lord."
Loki rumbled a satisfied clicking growl, and victoriously tossed his mighty tail once more for good measure. He lifted his scaled face to appraise you properly, and as he crawled forward to join you his ever-present grin seemed wider than usual.

𝑷𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝑭𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 🌹
The steady beep of a machine was the first thing you heard. Peeling your heavy eyelids open with a struggle, you dazedly stared out of focus. You were in a room. It looked like a hospital room, but the usual eye-frying fluorescent lights were dimmed enough for you to only have to squint slightly.
The next thing you spotted were various flower bouquets placed around the room. Before you could get a better look around, you heard the sound of your name being called softly. Slowly turning your head, you were met with the sight of a woman with brown hair and green eyes.
“I knew you would awake soon,” she said softly, gazing at you with a sad smile.
You closed your again briefly before opening them with a dazed frown. “W-where am I?” your hoarse tone sounded unfamiliar to your sensitive ears.
“You’re still in the tower, on Dr. Cho’s medical floor,” Wanda explained, rising out of her chair to move closer to you. “You’ve been here for a few days, about three. After we found you and Loki…” She trailed off with an unsure expression.
Your eyes opened up a bit wider at that. “Loki!” you choked out. “What happened to him? Oh my god- I- he saved me from Jacob and–!”
Wanda placed a hand on your arm, calming you down from your sudden panic attack. “I know, we know.” She responded before handing you a glass of water from the bedside table. “Drink this first and I’ll explain.”
You nodded, shakily bringing the glass up to your lips. She waited until you slowly downed half of its contents before continuing.
“We got the security alert as soon as they broke into the tower. We were halfway to Europe by then but we had immediately turned the plane around. It was utter chaos.” She breathed, shaking her head. “Tony’s backup feed caught everything that was happening in real-time. Everyone was completely out of their minds. Steve…”
She closed her eyes briefly as if she was experiencing what happened right at this moment. “He was… not good.” Her eyes opened and you could practically feel the pain they held. “He was out of his mind, everyone was. We couldn’t believe that we failed you again.”
You shook your head slowly, trying not to give yourself a bigger headache than you already had. “No, it wasn’t your fault. It was no one’s fault except for Jacob and those two guards.”
You didn’t want her or anyone else carrying the weight of your attack, it wasn’t fair.
“What’s… what’s happened since I was out?”
She sighed heavily before returning to her seat. “Unfortunately, S.H.I.E.L.D has gotten involved but we are handling them. Fury is, for lack of a better word, quite furious about the situation and is trying to keep things as quiet as possible. The last thing we need is the US government knowing about this.”
Her troubled eyes met yours. “We may… understand why Loki did what he did, but it’s doubtful that anyone else outside of our circle would. The whole world finding out would be the end of… well, all of us.”
Faded memories of pained screams and splatters of dark red plagued your mind. You didn’t notice that your hands were rapidly shaking until Wanda called your name again.
Your eyes snapped to hers and she was transfixed on your trembling hands. You tried to get them to stop shaking, awkwardly placing them underneath the sheet that covered you.
“I’m okay,” you murmured, looking away from her worried gaze. “How does the team feel about all of this?”
She was quiet for a moment, most likely contemplating on what she was allowed to tell you.
“We have been… a bit divided. This kind of incident has never happened before and I think everyone is still processing. We see death all the time, yes, but this was something completely different. What Loki did to those three men was completely barbaric. I have never seen anything like that in my entire life. Yet if I am to be honest, from what I witnessed on camera, I am not one hundred percent sure that I would have done much different than what he did in his position. Jacob could have killed you,” Her voice slightly broke, but you could still hear the anger and fear in it. “and no matter how anyone else feels about the methods Loki used, they knew that Jacob deserved some of what was coming for him.”
You rubbed your forehead, feeling a headache coming on. “Does everyone know what happened to him? Kayla? The rest of the Bale family?”
She shook her head. “No. We… wrote a letter to his family. From Jacob’s email account. All they know is that he was fired from Stark Industries and moved overseas to start a new venture. It was something he talked about with his family often, so it wasn’t very hard for us to make it believable.”
You were stunned into complete silence, mouth slightly agape. If what Wanda was saying was true, that meant that…
“You’re covering it up? His death?” You whispered with a horrified face.
“Yes, we are. Less or more,” Wanda replied quietly.
Slowly, you leaned back into the bed, eyes stuck on the ceiling and head resting on the pillow. Everything was suddenly feeling incredibly disorienting, and it wasn’t just because of your head injury.
You felt as if you had woken up to a dystopian world.
The Avengers were covering up a murder, no, several murders, and for who? You or Loki?
Your lip started to wobble as you thought about the man in question. He must have been so afraid of everything that happened. Your memory was a bit spotty but you remembered the quivering sound of his usual steady and confident voice, and how his body shook as he held you in his arms.
Your head swiveled towards Wanda, eyes focusing on her. “What happened to Loki?”
Her brows rose as she glanced away. “Initially, he was sent into S.H.I.E.L.D’s custody. They claimed that we weren’t able to control him anymore. But yesterday, Tony, Natasha, and Thor had a meeting with Fury to petition for Loki to be released back into our supervision. The meeting took hours, and I have not spoken to them since then so I don’t know how it went.”
You blinked. Thor was of no question, but Tony and Nat trying to get Loki back was certainly a shock to you.
“If it makes you feel any better, he has been compliant the whole time and hasn’t tried to cause any trouble. Maybe it’s because he knew what he did was well beyond anything else he’s gotten punished for.” Wanda muttered.
“What about when you found me? H-how was he?”
Wanda stared at you with a grave expression on her face before sighing. “It’s… It’s not exactly something I can describe with words.”
Looking at you hesitantly, she rose from her seat and gently placed her hand on your forehead. Your head tilted back and your eyes closed.
The team had burst into the room, doors completely ripped from their hinges as they readied for a fight, but what greeted them was well beyond what they could have ever expected. They were met with the petrifying sight of a murder scene.
Tony was completely frozen, strapped in his iron suit while staring at the chaos in front of him. Natasha covered her mouth and stepped back, and you could feel tears running down Wanda’s face as she let out a horrified gasp.
Torn limbs, broken body parts, and glass shards were lying in a pool of blood that covered most of the floor. But past all of that, there sat Loki on a bed with you lying unconscious in his arms. His hair was wild and matted with dark red, clothes torn and eyes wild as he shielded over your now blanket-covered form. He did not flinch or look up at anyone else, only continuing to stare down at your bruised face. The same bloody hands that had caused the massacre that laid before them were now glowing a deep green as they held onto you. His whole body was trembling but he was determined to keep a tight hold on you.
While the rest of the team were wide-eyed and in too much shock to do or say anything, Steve was the first to take a step forward before Thor placed a hand on his arm, giving him a look. Reluctantly, Steve stayed where he was while everyone watched as Thor carefully stepped through the nauseating and grotesque mess.
When he got close enough to Loki, he scrounched down to his level and looked at him carefully.
“Brother,” He said softly. “We can take it from here. Pass her to the Captain and I will help get you cleaned up.”
When Loki didn’t move, Thor reached out to grab you causing his younger brother to emit a deep growl and snap his head towards him. This was the first time he was looking at someone else that wasn’t you.
Thor raised his hands. “Hey, it is alright. We are not here to harm her any further, you understand that. Your powers are low, and you can only do so much. Let us take her to a proper Midgardian healer, please.”
Thor could see so much emotion in his brother's eyes, but the one that shone mostly was fear. He was scared of letting you go. Thor could tell that he had gotten through to him when tears sprung into his wide green eyes and his sharp expression transformed into a pained one.
Loki shakily turned his head slowly to look back at your unmoving form before rising to his feet with you still in his arms. He caught eyes with Rogers, making his way over to him before carefully placing you into his arms.
Steve immediately took you out of the room, and Loki stared after you with regretful eyes while Sam and Bucky took hold of him before cuffing his hands together behind his back.
Your eyes shot open as soon as Wanda released you from the vision. You were utterly speechless. Seeing Loki in that state brought tears to your eyes and you let out a shaky breath.
Wanda backed away, staring back at you somberly.
“That’s enough information for today. I now realize I shouldn’t have shown you that. You just woke up and are probably still in a state of shock. I’m so very sorry.” She shook her head, cursing to herself. “I’m going to leave so you can rest more. I will be back soon.”
You nodded your head while avoiding her gaze, and in a matter of seconds, you were alone again. You laid unmovingly in the bed for a while. You weren’t upset with Wanda for sharing her memory, you were just shaken from seeing everything from a much clearer point of view.
You stared up at the ceiling for what seemed like forever, but eventually, your lids slowly closed as you were pulled into the dark abyss of sleep.
Tumblr media
When you woke again, a dark-haired woman in a white lab coat was now in your room. She seemed to be checking on the machines while scribbling on a clipboard. The overhead lights in the room were brighter, and you lightly groaned as you tried to sit up.
“Hold on,” She said, while gently leaning you back down on the bed. “There’s an easier way. See?”
She pulled out a small remote and pressed a button that slowly raised the back of your small bed.
“Um, thank you,” you muttered, glancing at the beautiful woman. “Are you Dr. Cho?”
“Yes, I am,” She replied with a smile, still scribbling on her clipboard. “and you are a very lucky young lady. You had a lot of people scared there for a minute, but you’re pulling quite a speedy recovery.”
You blinked. “I am?” Not that you didn’t believe her, but you still felt like absolute shit.
She nodded, finally tearing her eyes from the papers and meeting your confused ones. “If Loki hadn’t used his powers to begin the healing process, you would have most likely been in a coma for as long as a month. The drugs you were attacked with were poisonous, and he helped extract most of it out of your system.” She scoffed lightly, raising her eyebrows. “It’s a miracle how much he could accomplish without having access to his full strength.”
You swallowed dryly and she passed you your now full glass of water. You squinted down at the glass, “Wait, aren’t you a famous geneticist? Why are you here wasting your time taking care of me? You must have so many more important projects to work on.”
She dropped down her clipboard and sent you a look. “You may not be a project, but there is no question that you are very important. I learned how to be a doctor before I dived into the field of genetics. I am honored to be able to provide care for someone like you. You are a very special girl, for many reasons other than you studying to become a physicist.” She winked at you.
You glanced down at your sore form. You were lying in a bed wearing an unsightly hospital gown and a pair of thick non-slip socks with a sheet thrown over your body. Nothing about you seemed significant at this moment. To be completely candid, you felt pretty ugly and disgusting.
“When will I be able to leave?” You asked her. You were certainly grateful for all she had done for your recovery, but you didn’t know how much longer you would be able to stay in this room without going insane.
Her brows furrowed, lips thinning as she peered back down at her clipboard. “I’m only expecting to keep you for a few more days. Your vitals are looking stronger by the day, but now that you’re awake I need to run a few more tests before I release you.”
“Is something wrong?”
“No, nothing I can see now. I just want to be one hundred percent sure, that’s it. Nothing you need to worry about.” She gave you a reassuring smile which did not make you feel any better.
Patting your arm, she backed away towards the door. “Right now you should focus on resting and getting yourself well-hydrated. I’ll release you as soon as all the tests are complete.”
Tumblr media
A few more days passed by but you didn’t hear much more from Dr. Cho about your upcoming release. The uncomfortable clinic bed wasn’t helping your stiff limbs, and the best you could do was lift them up and down to get some movement going. You still had tubes stuck in your arms so you weren’t allowed to get up and walk around just yet.
On the first day of your awakening, you did as Dr. Cho ordered, resting a lot, and the few times you did wake up, there was a new card, balloon, or flower bouquet in your room. It was obvious that people were visiting you while you were still asleep, but it saddened you greatly that you weren’t able to be awake whenever they came by.
On the second day, you were able to stay up long enough to enjoy a visit from your father. Your eyes lit up when he entered the room and you had never been more happier to see him. Yes, your last conversation with him wasn’t great, but he was still the only family you had left.
To his credit, he seemed even more grateful to see you. You could tell that he had been regretting his past choices that directly drove a wedge between you two. It did not have to be said that he felt awful about his part in Jacob’s deception, but to your surprise, he did admit his wrongdoings.
He looked haunted. His eyes were sunken into his face, his skin a bit ashy, and his body looked at least fifteen pounds lighter. He apologized to you countlessly, and you accepted his apology with a hug. You knew you had a lot more to discuss with him, but this was not the right time to do so, as you were still feeling a bit out of sorts.
When you started looking drowsy, he left you be so you could rest, and the next time you opened your eyes, the whole team had gathered into your room to surprise you. Even through the tragedy of the situation, they made sure to put on big smiles for you and you did the same, genuinely being excited to see them all.
Thor held a huge cake that had a photo of you on it which you thought was funny for many reasons, one of them being that you couldn’t eat any sugar until all of your blood work was done. It was all theirs to enjoy.
Tony and Clint talked your ear off, catching you up on the latest happenings and the rest of the team hung out in the room, chatting with you when they could.
Steve made sure to grab a few minutes with you, filling you in on how they moved your entire room into a much larger one that was closer to his and Bucky’s. You wanted to tell him that they didn’t have to do that, but you refrained when you remembered all of the strange things you experienced in your old room. Jacob completely ruined it for you. Furthermore, by the way that Steve was looking at you and constantly asking if you were okay, you figured this room change would reassure everyone that you’d be a lot safer.
You wanted to ask about Loki, but since no one brought him up, you assumed it was too soon. It was no secret that you cared about him so if there was any bad news, they probably wouldn’t want to tell you while you were still stuck in the clinic.
Thor must have noticed the hesitance on your face, as he lingered in the room a bit longer after everyone else left. You gave him an apprehensive stare as he placed his hand in the pocket of his jeans while facing you.
“He is okay, my lady.” He said with a gentle smile. He sent you a farewell nod and exited the room before you could gather the courage to ask him any more questions.
On the third day of your stay in the clinic, you were able to get through most of it without taking more naps than an elderly cat.
However, you did wake to see a singular flower laid on your bedside table. It immediately caught your eye as it was the most vibrant red you’ve ever seen. It looked to be a poppy flower. You were never a fan of that kind before but this one was entrancing you by how gorgeous it was. You felt as if its mere presence gave you the strength to get through the rest of the day.
You had a few more visitors but still no news of Loki.
Then the morning of the fourth day, you woke up to a fresh new glowing red poppy flower that was placed beside the old one. This intrigued you enough to ask Dr. Cho if she knew who was leaving them in your room.
She paused before looking at you with an indecipherable expression on her face. “I don’t know, but security did mention that someone has been coming by after all the staff leaves for the night. They stay for hours before leaving without a word. I would assume that they are on the list of people allowed to visit you, so it could just be one of your friends.”
“But they never wake me to let me know they’re visiting.” You say with a frown.
She gave a thoughtful look. “Maybe they don’t want to disturb you. I mean, they are visiting in the middle of the night so it’s a good thing they have consideration for your rest. It’s needed for full recovery.”
You hummed at that, accepting her answer as it made sense. Could it be Kayla? It was a possibility but you also couldn’t see her leaving flowers for you. At least not that kind.
“On the other hand, I have something else I’ve been needing to talk to you about.” Her face sobered up, making you focus your attention on her.
“Do you know much about your parent's medical history?” She asked.
You shrugged. “I know my dad’s. Not so much about my mom’s.”
She nodded, briefly looking down at the linoleum floor. “Yes, that’s what I thought.” She looked back up at you with a solemn expression. “As you are already aware, there’s a reason I have been keeping you here for this long. My lab has finished running all your blood tests and after double-checking them, there’s something that you need to know.”
You didn’t take your eyes off of hers as you asked the dreadful but unavoidable question.
“What is it?”

“We caught him. We got Loki.” Steve Rogers bragged, spreading the news to the team through the tiny speaker the headphones had.
Some sighed relieved, others—specifically Tony, accompanied by Natasha, hurried to examine the cell he was going to stay at, temporarily, before being sent to receive Asgardian punishment.
Loki didn't seem even slightly defeated at the concept of staying in the cell once again, it's almost as if he's planned it, and with Loki, you could never know. He still had the smugness in his expression, but he lacked his army and scepter, so the Avengers couldn't help but be overly suspicious of his unbothered behavior.
The cell was intrinsically made to protect the external side from whatever— or whoever— was inside, a stronger, hopefully more long-lasting copy of the first that was destroyed before the official New York attack. The concept was created by S.H.I.E.L.D with the support of Stark to provide safety to everyone whenever Hulk decided to come out, and Loki knew it was still that way, but at the moment those were the special occasions in which it can be lent to any dangerous individual.
But seeing as they had to strengthen the new cell, based on what happened to the first, Loki didn't know what the improvements of this one were.
Anyhow, none of the Avengers expected that a being was rushing to the same spot some of them were, at the same time. You hurried sneakily hoping not to be found, hiding in the shadows to find the local you were informed of.
The shadows moved with you whenever you walked, in the literal sense, and morphing to whatever shape you desired. The silence that your footsteps provided was unfamiliar to human (or enhanced humans, or alien) ears.
When you arrived at the cell responsible for locking Loki — recently having discovered his name — you hesitated coming closer, seeing that Stark and Romanoff were there first. You chose the option of sticking to your shadows by the corner.
“Second time you come here, and this time Banner is well-protected and miles away. Should you have a plan for this, we'll lock you again so you can see that you will always lose no matter what you try next.” Tony's voice was loud and clear, giving no room to thinking otherwise, that's what he always sounded like.
His confident tone did not manage to afflict Loki's expression, so if he did feel the impact or had a change of emotions, it was unknown to the two watching his every move.
Natasha kept a serious glare at him, one that'd inspire others to shiver until they even dare question the temperature of the room. She waited patiently to see if Loki would snap and try some escapade at any given moment.
He didn't.
“I always have a plan, Stark. By now, you should know that. It would make our little encounters way simpler.” His velvety voice was surprisingly smooth and showed a contrast to the silence of the room, impacting them with the sophisticated and kept-together tone. Almost managing to make them shiver.
At least Tony, not Natasha (she didn't seem to be easily intimidated). Or you, the one that's still in the shadows.
“Well, then you can calculate your plan for as long as you'd like, for as many days as it takes, 'cause you're not getting yourself out of this prison. We made sure of it.” Natasha stated, and Tony quickly nodded in response, glancing at Romanoff and having his eyes come back to Loki.
After that, you watched them leave.
You could sense every moving thing in the huge room, your powers presented to you the incessant—and quite loud— heartbeat that was coming from Loki's chest. Blame it on yourself for being able to detect that but you silently wondered how they didn't notice.
After some more time spent in silence, you could sense Loki's nervousness increasing, it was palpable, and honestly, the atmosphere was becoming kind of pleasant to you, who decided to wait and analyze the way his emotions were changing.
Fear. Although he seemed to not want to demonstrate that, perhaps also afraid someone might be watching through the cameras.
Was nobody really going to come?
You realized with disdain that maybe his plan involved counting on a third-party. This time he couldn't possibly understand the patterns of the cell beforehand, he also couldn't appeal to the team's distaste for each other, so a fight like the other time wouldn't be able to be induced.
Maybe he thought Thanos would come for him, seeing as he led the army of Chitauri. Maybe he thought he'd be tracked and they'd come for him again, to finish the mission.
You knew this, you knew everything that involved vulnerability. Humans were somehow unique in this matter, but Gods always carried something special within and most of the times it is related to their godlike trait of specialty.
You get Zeus as an example: the leader of the Gods on Olympus, will always be scared of failure and being inferior, and when found in situations he sees as disrespectful his anger will always be human-like, his punishments will be tainted by an emotional and human anger.
This is something special about the Gods we can live with, this is what makes them and their stories interesting to humans, the feelings and flaws. Semblance to humanity.
Their flaws are deeper and carry more pain than humans could possibly experience. The God of Mischief, Tricks and Lies carried a long-time pain and years of trauma for being betrayed and lied to. It was interesting to watch life be ironic and to see the flashback coming to life behind their eyes.
To be frank, you weren't expecting him to depend on someone else to escape, it's supposed to be common nature for him by now. The distrust, the tricks any time, to be wise in the nature of misleading and manipulation.
But anyhow, you decided to wait and check if any other noise or heartbeat would make a sound in the room.
It didn't, still just Loki.
So you approached, still covered, protected from view by your shape-shifting shadows.
The atmosphere was colder than you had expected once you were in front of the cell, your hands touched the armored glass. Invisible now, abandoning your shadows. You didn't know if the cold was coming from him or if they just kept the air that way. Probably both.
Loki was in the middle of the cell now, facing his bed for the night.
His thoughts kept betraying his facial expressions, being louder than he allowed his face to show, they were a constant mess of scheming and planning different ways out, a bunch of diverse techniques for trickery with the intent of finding his freedom.
Honestly you were getting a bit of a headache, but you realized he clearly didn't know that to do. You could sense his restricted powers moving through his veins.
You touched the glass with your fingertips first, then, with your fingernails, applying a slight pressure to it. Making Loki violently flinch and turn his body back to the entrance expecting to see one of the Avengers there to taunt him.
He saw nothing and immediately frowned due to that. Then relaxed, noticing there was nobody there and thinking it might have been something else. You wondered if he could sense you or if he thought it was an illusion.
You decided to make use of the fact he still kept his front to the entrance—where you secretly were— and once again slowly scratched the glass he was being kept in.
Loki visibly flinched once again.
“Fine, I thought it was nothing at first but I can definitely feel someone here now. Who is it? Who's there?!” He asked out loud to the empty room.
You waited in silence, seeing his fear was quite the spectacle. It's humanly cruel to admit but the fear that comes from Gods are a treat to be felt and experienced. To you.
You were slightly shocked he could feel your presence there, although it did answer the doubt you had before to know if he could feel your presence or not.
You were tempted to scare him further, so mischievously as you decided to be, you closed your hand to a fist and knocked on the glass. Different areas, at the same time.
He looked around dramatically quick, closed his expression after noticing this was possibly a trick. He got back in place and his eyes dared to look forward— frighteningly exactly where you are—, and crossed his arms, presenting a —also—dramatic stance.
“Very funny, really adorable. I don't enjoy playing with witches, especially ones that won't show themselves, I'll let you know. Take off the spell.”
Really? I thought he liked tricks. You guess fear changes people, you could laugh at his scaredy cat behavior some other time.
You took off the spell and showed your human form to him, making a mental note of how he seemed to gasp when you appeared out of nowhere. You noticed the cell seemed to restrict his powers although it seemed not to erase it completely, which is a capable downfall for the team of humans, they should've checked this before.
You presented yourself in a full black uniform with a long matching cape covering your shoulders, and your hair was kept down and loosen. The most noticeable detail was the metal mask you kept covering your nose and mouth. Allowing him to stare only at your eyes, not being able to see your full face.
“Loki, Loki of Asgard.” Your voice broke the silence, your eyes seemed to shine a little brighter after pronouncing the words.
He stared at you, his eyes questioning and doubtful, multiple questions running through his mind.
“And who are you? One more of the freaks coming to teach me how to behave in midgardian society? How do you know who I am?”
“Let's humbly say that I'm here to…save you,” he couldn't help but laugh at that.
“And what's that supposed to mean? You were in silence just then for a while, you clearly want something from me, and I want to know what it is. And I wish to know who you are, or maybe…who you're probably working for.”
“One of Thanos' children?” he thought, you don't care enough to ask what it means.
You gave him a strange look he could not decipher.
“I work for no one, only myself. You can think of me as an angel, if you want, or if you need it. But I want to help you. Your powers have drawn me to you.”
“No angel would ever assume they feel drawn to greatness or power, I can only believe you may be a witch,” he eyed you up and down again, you noticed he seemed to do it a lot. Like he was constantly trying to understand things about you.
“No, I'm no witch. But I do admire them,” you let your head down a bit, then stare at him. Allowing your hands to try and reach the glass once again.
His eyes widened even before you managed to complete the touch. He thought you were going to scratch it again.
“No, no, don't do that! Stop scratching the glass!”
“Don't worry, I'm merely touching it this time.” you reached the glass and analyzed it, your hands glowing a black flowing matter, your powers, attempting to understand what it was made of and what could be its weakness. “Someone really doesn't want you to come out, it seems. The cell is reinforced by an invisibility spell that's hiding a layer of Adamantium.”
“I don't know what that is, but the cell wasn't built for me that's for sure.”
“It's a special metal, possibly the second strongest metal on Earth. Maybe it was built for you, or maybe not. I could sense your powers from miles away. You're more powerful than you think you are, with more experience you could turn a prison of Adamantium into multiple pieces.”
He seemed to get angrier at what you said. Immediately scowling at you.
“Are you claiming I'm not experienced with magic? What would you know?! I'm over a thousand years of magic experience, I'm pretty sure I can handle anything by now.”
“Then break the cage yourself.” you simply stated. “Do it then.”
“I can't, you dim-witted creature. As you can see, my magic is restricted.” He gesticulated to the cell around him, crossed his arms and looked at you.
“I know you carry more power than the supreme sorcerer in person. Again, if you had more faith in yourself mayhaps you'd be able to break it and find your way out on your own.” Your eyes wandered to the ground, making it seem like you didn't even care much, turning around slightly as if to go away.
“And you…you can break it?” he asked after some seconds, lowering his voice.
You turned back, looking over the whole glass. Your body leaned a bit backwards with you, showing a bit of drama through your movements.
Then you placed yourself exactly where you were, and straightened your posture to speak to him.
“Yes, yes I can break it for you. I'll help you.” You decided. He seemed overly suspicious of every movement you made.
Placing your hand on the glass you let yourself feel all the tingly numbness that comes with allowing your powers to overcome, then you feel the glass start shattering under your fingertips. The strength of the material was stronger than anything you were used to physically handle daily.
Surprisingly, Loki's hand started glowing a light green color and his eyes closed as if putting the same effort as you into attempting to break the glass, less than he usually would be able to but still trying. His body got closer to the glass, not actually daring to touch it yet.
Your powers together managed to crack the top of his glass cell, this was when the loud warning noise came along, ringing in your ears and making you flinch.
Loki grew alarmed and his magic was visibly weakening as the noise took over all the place. Seeing as these were extreme measures, you started putting double the effort to break it faster.
“It would be incredibly great if you could just help me again. It was good before, it was working.” You told him to make him pay attention to you once again. “You shouldn't let your emotions get in the way like that, I can sense your desperation from here, it's distracting!”
He looked at her in disbelief but he put his hands in front of himself again, his powers grew strongly green and the glass cracked more and more.
“You talk about desperation but I'm not the one that's raising my voice…” He muttered in the middle of everything.
“If you helped me I wouldn't need to!”
“Didn't you say you could do everything by yourself?”
“I'm just saying in a matter of hurry to get you out, it would be great to have your powers help me break the second most powerful metal on Earth!”
“You should thank the gods that I-”
“Well I don't! I simply DON'T thank the gods,” you said louder than before. He seemed surprised but quickly recomposed himself. “And stop attempting a threat, should the humans arrive I can let myself out easily. Be more grateful.”
“As if! For all I know you must be a witch planning on kidnapping me… But seeing as being with the midgardian costume-show is worse, I don't mind the entertainment of being kidnapped by a…“ He took a pause to look at you, and you raised an eyebrow at him, slightly tilting your head. “Uh…insane, scary witch.”
You could feel the heat increase and the announcement that there was an escape plan happening kept ringing loudly into the ears of both you. It would be a matter of time until the Avengers could track you and come back to the room. You both turned your heads to the entrance door that was right behind you, nothing yet.
Loki watched as your eyes seemed to go completely black in an instant, hands were getting shakier both yours and Loki's, then in the blink of an eye, the glass smashed in tiny little pieces.
Loki put his arms in front of his face due to the impact but you didn't, your hands were still glowing with darkness and gray speckles of light as the magic slowly dissolved. One of the multiple pieces of glass crossed your forehead marking a small bleeding cut, that's when you noticed you probably should have had the reaction to protect your body to the glass. You noticed a few tinier pieces made contact with your mask, making a quiet but obvious sound of ripping steel, only a little, but what a shame.
You didn't want Loki to get too suspicious of you so you didn't make it heal faster, you let it bleed a little and it's close to your left eye.
You watch it with interest, you quite like blood, you like the reminder you can bleed.
Putting your hand to the light wound and taking a bit of the blood on your skin, you let it taint your fingers a little red.
“We should go then.” You stated as a final decision.
You noticed that the moment the glass was destroyed, Loki's eyes seemed to get a bright blue shade for an instant, they even seemed a bit lost, then they went back to the green-grayish tone.
“Wait, we could–”
You teleported both of your ways out of there, right before the Avengers arrived.
You realized your plan carried no real structure and it upset you immensely. Now you were stuck in an isolated mossed area with an alien God that appeared to be in deep distress.
“You know this is great, where in the all the Nine even are we?” He looked around at that, checking the varied tree species the place had. And turned to look at you in disbelief.
“Are we still in the United States?!” He questioned loudly once again and started walking straight ahead.
“If there wasn't such pressure on us I could have teleported us somewhere nicer. I couldn't let them be too close,” with that you followed right behind him, managing to keep your footsteps steadier to make it seem as if you know what you're doing.
“If you had waited a little before teleporting us I could have gotten the Tesseract back! If we had the Tesseract I'd manage to find somewhere to hide, very far from here… You didn't let me dictate our plan and now look where we are,”
“The Tesseract?” You asked a bit confused, then you slowly nodded as you just remembered seeing something about that. “The bright blue cube the Avengers carried with them? Is it important?” You were curious now.
“Yes, it is property of Asgard. And it should be with me. They took it from me.” He started going faster and you hurried to match his steps.
“First of all, why? Second of all,” you paused as you tripped on the rocks. “Ugh. Second of all- I definitely should be the one on the front. Let me lead the way.”
You certainly didn't appreciate feeling inferior.
You ran a little to go and stay in front of him, turning your back to Loki and proceeding to walk first.
The Asgardian behind you was confused by the suddenness of your actions, and stomped his foot seemingly taking your choice as insolence.
“Where are we?! What the Hel is going on?!”
“I told you I was going to save you. I did, I took you out of that god forsaken cell, I freed you.”
“Freedom would be a solid belief if I could be by myself right now.”
“Hey. I have been nothing but nice,” you don't know why you were defensive. “And you have yet to mention why the Tesseract should be with you. I said I can do anything, if you convince me, maybe I can bring it to you,” you said firmly and stared right at him.
That made him pause his steps for a while, you were almost near a tunnel. You paused as well.
He blinked, and looked at you before speaking.
“It's the space stone, a stone that allows you to teleport anywhere you want at any given moment. It controls space in time, and I was using it to my benefit for my plans.”
You looked down to the floor deep in thought with that. Keeping quiet for a little.
“You don't need that, you have me.”
He stared at you quietly too, you almost didn't notice how his eyes shined a little greener after your words, looking… lively, or honest.
 “You'd…move us whenever we needed?”
“Yes, of course,” you exclaimed bubbly.
Everything seemed warmer to you, noticing the Tesseract wasn't going to ruin your plans if you lacked it, your powers are useful enough for that.
He looked at you oddly, then kept walking. Indicating with his hands that you should walk as well, silently not caring anymore if you're first.
“I wish you would tell me who you are. The only thing I can see other than your eyes is the mask.”
“You wish for me to take off the mask?” You smiled sardonically. “Are you this curious?”
“You did call yourself an angel,” he began. Your eyes turned slightly darker at the mention, but you were looking at the floor, you kept smiling under the mask.
“I did, yes. I am one, somehow,” you lied.
You know he can see through your lies, he chose not to comment.
The tunnel was right in front of you two now, you both kept walking. It brought nothing but humid ground with water puddles that kept announcing you in the dark, sometime or another you could hear the small noise of a bug.
Overall, it was quite cold. You thought the cold in the cell had been due to keeping the atmosphere that way, but Loki's presence felt as cold as the air around you, literally.
“Are you cold?” You asked.
“Hm?” He was distracted analyzing his whereabouts. “No, why? Is it cold? I didn't notice.”
You hummed, you were kind of sensitive to the cold so you weren't sure if you were the one on the wrong. Maybe it was just the tunnel.
Either way, you opened your hands spreading all your fingers, absorbing as much warmth as the place could have.
You noticed Loki's fingertips growing immediately the green it gets when he uses his powers, and…oh.
He conjured you a blanket. A dark green one, that looked very soft.
“I'm a gentleman, I can't let you go cold.” he looked at you and waited for you to take it.
Still, you kept your hands growing warmer and warmer, you got both of them together and huddled a tiny speckle of… fire.
You were satisfied with that, but made it a bit bigger. Now you carried a small flame in the air among your fingers, and your entire hands were glowing red. You felt warm enough, the pyrokinesis required the warmth of your entire body.
You didn't notice Loki's admiration right beside you, his eyes sparkling with the movements of your fingers through the air.
“You can control fire? Impressive,” he said in awe.
“It's nothing,” your cheeks felt just as warm as your hands, you supposed you could blame it on the pyrokinesis effect. “You can still give me the blanket, put it around me or something,” you moved your shoulders trying to demonstrate.
So he did, he placed it around your shoulders. It wasn't exactly long, good because it wouldn't touch the dirty ground. Or come close to it.
As you two walked the rest of the tunnel, now feeling less cold than before, a green light flowed by your side again. Loki's hand grew a green light to help us see the dark way in front of us, the fire helped already but it's nice that he thought to add to it.
You just assumed he liked feeling useful as much as you.
Maybe you were a creature cursed to desiring greatness for eternity, however, his powers did draw you to him even further. Your eyes brighten as you look at the green surrounding his fingertips.
He looks at you curiously, eyes changing from his hands to your face back and forth.
Both of you don't say anything.
The 'Avengers' as they have recently been named, decided the world was under a giant threat again seeing as Loki had not only escaped but he did so with the help of an unknown person.
This opened possibilities for a thousand different theories. Maybe the God of Mischief had fans, but it'd be really quick enough for them to plan and manage to save him?
Plus, they knew the 'person' was powerful when checking the cameras, seeing the woman appear out of nowhere, and seeing they teleported together. At first they thought Loki was the responsible one for that, but what if he wasn't? It mainly worried them the fact that humans —if it was what saved him— do not simply have superpowers like that.
It became a S.H.I.E.L.D case the second they discovered.
“What if he has more aliens he brainwashed?” Clint asked at the table. “I don't wanna deal with these aliens any more for today, I've had enough.”
“Considering the fact you were just brainwashed by the guy, I can give you that,” Natasha answered, putting a hand on his shoulder. She looked at him more caringly afterwards when the others weren't paying attention to them. Saying quietly: “Are you okay? Don't you think it's better if you rest for now?”
“I'll have enough time to rest after we get that serial killer slash crazy alien back to the cells. Or better yet, out of this planet.” With that, he looked at the other teammates.
Tony was checking the securities and zooming in on the screens, recording to save every detail of the presented outfit, mask, all the angles of this person, anything he could get.
Thor was relentless, demanding to know any information the humans could grant him with. He didn't understand how it wasn't quicker to locate him.
For him it seemed more like a family missing thing than a mass murderer villain missing, they guessed that after all, Loki was still his brother and Thor still had such a big heart.
“If this being is more powerful than my brother is, I don't think we'll find them in these…” Thor turned and gesticulated to the cameras Stark was studying the scenes from. “What are these again?” He mumbled in a hurry, just wanting to get his point across.
“Cameras.” Steve replied.
“Cameras! Of course,” Thor said again making a dramatic case with his booming voice, “I need to check in Asgard to see if he's not there, maybe the Asgardians even know something…I don't know, I'm not sure.” He kept looking around nervously, and picking on his hands as he spoke.
“Thor, relax. We're going to find him, it's our main mission to get a hold of this freak.” Bruce replied now. “If there's one thing about our group of very strange individuals is that we don't like to fail, we're too arrogant for that.”
“Speak for yourself, I'm far from arrogant.” Tony replied clicking on another screen and bringing it closer to him, the technology making the images clearer.
Steve tries to hide a snort, and Natasha can't help but actually laugh. “Come on now, it's not time for jokes.”
“Yeah, don't make us laugh,” she says.
“Is this amusing to you, Steve?” Tony said. Looking away from the screen. “If you think I'm too arrogant-”
“I have no time for this.” Thor turned around, picking Mjolnir with extreme ease and turning it in the air. “I'll be out for a while. If you find news about my brother don't forget to look up to the sky and scream very loudly the name 'HEIMDALL', please.” He made sure to give a quiet scream to interpretate them screaming to Heimdall.
“And who's that Heimdall guy again?” Clint asked.
“The man that sees it all. The guardian of Asgard. I asked him for news regarding Loki's location, but he seems to find absolutely nothing, it's unbelievable. He said there's strong magic protecting his surroundings, or him in itself.”
“If Loki is on Asgard, make sure to send us a letter or a text message to warn us and proceed be sure to keep him there, forever, no need to bring him back.” Tony said dismissively. “We've got enough trouble as it is.”
“Well, now you're just being rude. I bet Loki didn't mean any real harm with his actions. He wasn't like that before.” Thor replied once again, and then turned to the exit to go outside. “Again, if you find anything of him, make sure to yell to the sky!”
The moment Thor left and they saw the rainbow appear through the window and make quite a loud opening, Natasha looked at them and said:
“So who's going to be the one to take the role of insane and yell at the sky?” She asked with a smile.
“Hopefully no one, his brother might be having a blast with Asgardians chicks in a pool, if they have those there. And everything will go back to normal, we'll have no need to worry,” Tony said.
“Just because that's what you'd been doing if you escaped prison doesn't mean that that's what Loki's doing right now.” Steve argued.
“Who let the popsicle speak again? I don't know about you, but other people are familiar with the concept of having sex-”
“Is this conversation really necessary, Tony?” Steve argued back.
“Well, hopefully Tony's right about not needing to worry and-”
Mary Hill entered the room before Bruce could finish the sentence, “Am I interrupting? I apologize, I hate to be the bringer of bad news…actually, no, I'm alright with that.” She said menancingly. After that, she put a laptop on the table they were meeting at.
Also, putting next to it a bunch of information resources, such as multiple other tablets and laptops containing images that are some blurry and others in perfect quality. One of them even contained an image of a woman, seemingly an ID, but they weren't sure.
“Fury was in contact with other agents that could know anything about the characteristics the unknown person had. They studied the height, the weight, the length of their hair, and other things. We tried to study the precise gender this person has but aren't so sure, so we call it Being, they weren't even sure it's human. Still, they checked the powers, the speed in which the glass was broken, everything they could through the images. Changed the angles and studied for news about it, checking specifically also the mask she wore.”
While she narrated every step of the professionals she opened one of the screens and displayed it to another device to share Fury's screen. That's when he began to talk to them, to tell the story through his side as well.
“The creature, we were looking first for witches or any enhanced human beings such as other possible soldiers like Rogers. We were both relieved and worried to see it wasn't the case, our work couldn't be granted with much, but what we found of it should be enough for now to know what we're working with.”
Hill presented a specific image on screen, one that seemed like the one on the ID, the 'woman' had her eyes wide open seeing as she had to look directly at the camera for the important exam.
The image was black and white, of course. But she had her eyes completely empty, the document was inked with white the part where her eyes should be.
“They checked for occurrences and similar characteristics on other people surrounding the same places. What we found complicated is that the situations in which people disappeared like that and appeared out of nowhere were brought up by different people in different parts of the world.” The images kept moving to present women, men and children, not much, probably just up to eight identities that they could collect from around the whole world. “But what's most interesting is that, none of these people actually exist.”
Fury stated and caused the silence of the room to grow instantly tense. They immediately found that frightening.
“Has Loki really been planning the attack on New York for that long? This must be related to him somehow. When, how-” Clint began and was interrupted by Fury again.
“These people would appear on a certain day and disappear at any moment. It was uncertain, it has no pattern, we're in doubt of our process because we can't seem to be sure just one person could be responsible for this. And we're unsure of Loki's relation to this being, at least any relation before today.”
The pictures presented could vary from news where there would be people morphing out of shadows or coming out of something slimy to become human. They weren't sure these things were related to one another but they carried similarities with the pattern of power presented in the cell earlier.
There were videos of men, women, even animals, morphing into something else. And mainly all of them had to be related to the shadows one time or another, that's all they had, they had to stick to it.
“We believe we're dealing with a shapeshifter, and even worse… We believe it's a demon.”

Under his influence (Post Avengers! Loki x female reader)
Read chapter 14 here // Series Masterlist
Chapter 15
Summary : Loki is afraid you won't desire him once you see him for who he is.
Warning: 18+ things get steamy at the end, mention of sex, mention of periods, mention of psychological torture, angst, insecurities, self deprecating behaviour, also Melissa again, Loki having severe internalised racism (he'll get better i promise)
Tumblr media
The room was pindrop silent. You looked around and Melissa who had screamed bloody murder just now and wanted to leave, sat back down again. That bitch needed a lesson in humility.
Captain seemed a little bit shaken by the sight in front of him, he had never seen Loki in this form, nobody had, not even his brother. You looked at Thor, and he was equally shocked. You couldn't stop staring at Loki, he was bigger, at least a foot taller than how he looked in his Asgardian form, those ridges on his skin seemed beautiful, he looked like a piece of art, something historic, something you' wanted to cherish with all your heart.
You stepped a little forward since you knew you had no shoes on so your feet won't make any noise, big mistake because Loki looked to the side as you reached closer, he took a sniff as if he could smell you, there was a brief moment when he looked right into your eyes or so you thought, they were teary again. He couldn't see you though, right?
You were there, your scent reached his senses and he just knew you were around him. This is not how he wanted you to find out about this monstrous side of him. Why did you come here? What if someone would have caught you?
"Bring me my shield" Rogers asked Hawkeye so Loki averted his gaze and snickered,
"Changed your mind, captain? I thought we were going hand to hand"
"We are, my shield is a part of me" Steve sneered at him.
"Actually that's--" Tony was about to say something but Steve glared at him. Wow Captain America had no expressions even when he seemed angry.
"Whatever helps you sleep tonight captain" Loki retorted.
"He's like a yeti, big scary freaky yeti, but I can't stop staring, it's like staring at something sooo unnatural..it's crazy isn't it" Melissa commented on his appearance yet again and she was speaking to Jane, Loki didn't even bother looking at her this time.
"Why don't you just be quiet or better yet..leave?" Jane replied. Thanks Jane.
Before anyone could say anything else, they both charged at each other, Loki was merciless, you had to take a step back and had to close your eyes every second because you couldn't stand the sight of the captain being beaten up so ruthlessly.
Act of physical violence wasn't something you could digest easily. You heard him growling and he was burning with an animalistic rage. He was tired of feeling like a weakling, he was tired of these people and their hatred towards him, he was sick of their taunts and their ignorant behaviour towards the threat that was out to destroy them all. He felt an intense amount of guilt for killing agent Coulson but it got worse when these people never failed to remind him of what he had done that day.
You were there and you wanted him to fight for himself, you were right, he was a god and these people needed to know that they couldn't just push him around like a puppet all the time. Even though the fight was brutal Rogers wasn't backing out, Tony and Clint intervened and tried to drag him away from Loki but his pride was bigger than his life for him, after a point Thor had to come and he grabbed Loki but you could see him struggling to keep him from attacking again.
"Just stop both of you" Bruce banner interrupted between the fight and you could see the vein in his neck threatening to burst, he was looking all green already so Natasha came forward and took his hand in hers to calm him down. What was that all about?
Rogers was taken away for medical assistance and you noticed that Pepper, Jane and Melissa were leaving as well so you followed them, as much as you wanted to stay and comfort Loki you didn't want to get caught and ruin everything for you both.
"God what an animal...ughhhhj " Melissa commented as soon as they all stepped out.
"Aren't you supposed to be in love with him?' Jane asked her and Melissa rolled her eyes.
"I am and that's why I can accept this ugly disgusting side of him, you're lucky to have Thor who's just perfect with no flaws whatsoever" Melissa said and with every word you heard from her, your hatred for her only increased, you didn't think you had ever hated anyone as much as her in the moment.
As you all stepped out of the elevator, you pulled her hair very harshly before you hobbled towards Loki's room. You heard her pained screaming as she looked behind to see who had done that but she found nobody. You wished that would have been enough but it wasn't. She was continuously hurting Loki and you didn't think you'd be able to take it for long.
"Brother are you alright?" Thor walked towards Loki who had collapsed on his knees in the training room.
"I shouldn't have done that should I?" Loki looked up at him, his eyes filled with tears, Thor has never seen his brother in this form before so it was a bit of an adjustment.
"Well they're not going to like it for sure, he did have it coming though " Loki sighed at the response.
"This is not how i wanted her to see me the first time " Loki mumbled making Thor confused
"Lady Melissa?"
"Y/n"
"She was here?" Thor raised his brow in a questioning manner.
"I could sense that she was, her scent was all over the space"
"Really? What does she smell like?" Thor chuckled,
"How come it's relevant?" Loki raised his brows, except he didn't have brows, those ridges that were present all over his skin merely gave an allusion of the brows "She smells sweet, especially when she's nearing her menstr-"
"Alright I get it" Thor interrupted him before he would be scarred further "Why are you worried about her seeing you?"
"You saw how everyone was looking at me and what that Melissa said" his voice strained because of the bubbling emotions "I brought her here all alone, and now she must think I am some giant monster who could hurt her any minute"
"You're not a monster loki"
"I am the monster we had vowed to eliminate remember?"
"We were just childrens Loki, I didn't know any better but I do now and I know Jotuns deserve the same respect that Asgardians do, but are you willing to accept that?" Loki didn't respond as Thor said that, he just got up, changed back to his aesir form and picked up his shirt from the floor to put it on before he left for his room.
He was nervous going back to the room, he was scared you'd tell him off and would demand to go back, he feared that he'd lose your affection because of who he actually was, whenever you asked him about his jotun traits, he kept his answers to bare minimum, he never described how he looked, he always told you that they were big and blue but he never described his monstrous eyes or those deep ridges on his skin, he never told you that he was a hairless freak, never told you that his skin felt so rough to touch.
As he opened the door to his room he found you on the bed with your phone in your hand, the cloak was placed neatly folded on the side of the bed where he had left it for you.
Perhaps there was a possibility that you weren't there, he didn't want to lose you so soon. He didn't want to lose you at all.
"Hiii" you smiled as you crawled on the bed to reach towards the frontal edge where he was standing, you got on your knees making sure you weren't putting much pressure on your ankle, because of the pills you weren't feeling any pain but you knew it wouldn't be wise to put strain on your sprained ankle. There were small bruises on his face that he had gotten because of the fight so you cupped his cheeks and kissed him, his hair was curly and messy as well.
"I missed you" you mumbled softly and his arms wrapped around your waist before he placed his head down on your shoulder.
"What's wrong?" You asked him so he pulled away a little to look at you, why weren't you running away from him? Why weren't you disgusted by him if you saw him? Perhaps his senses were wrong and you weren't there.
He took a step away from you, the distance between your bodies grew as he continued to step back.
"You were there" he mumbled as he placed his hands on his waist. It wasn't a question but a statement so you sighed and sat down on your hips so your thighs weren't straining.
"Are you upset?" You asked him so he tilted his head, the question confirmed that his intuitions were correct.
"You could have been caught"
"I know, that was very foolish of me I'm sorry" you mumbled softly so he walked towards you, he cupped your cheeks and made you look up to his tall frame so you were meeting his eyes.
"You saw me" he said, his voice sounded defeated and it made your heart sink,
"Yes?"
"Why aren't you scared?" You crossed your arms as he said that, the position would seem really funny if someone were to click your pictures because he was still holding your cheeks between his palms.
"Why would I be scared of you Loki?" You questioned him, your voice showed no sign of fear or disgust, you grabbed onto his wrist, turned your head a little to kiss on his right palm before you slid them down and lifted yourself up on your knees again, even when you were on the bed he was still taller than you, your arms wrapped around his neck, fingers caressing his nape gently as you questioned him again
"Why would I be scared of you baby?" His eyes teared up at the firm but tender sound of your voice.
"Because I'm a monster and you should be afraid of me" your heart broke for him as he said that. You saw the years worth of pain and insecurities swimming in those eyes.
"You think you're a monster? Why?"
You questioned him as your lips pressed small kisses on every little bruises he had on his face.
"Did you not see me? I am nothing more than an animal, an incorrigible monster that's going to hurt you" he spoke so you looked at him before you kissed him, he cupped your cheeks again and responded to the kiss with equal urgency, when you pulled away he pressed his forehead down on yours to regain his composure. His words still clenched your heart and you just wanted to comfort him, not just with your words but also physical affection, you knew how much he loved to be taken care of whenever he was vulnerable and you were going to take care of him
"You won't hurt me lo" he heard your voice but his mind couldn't stop being so cruel to him, why weren't you disgusted by him? One of his hand wrapped around your throat and you felt his thumb and forefingers putting a gentle pressure on the sides of of your neck, the gesture made your head tilt upwards involuntarily.
He wasn't hurting you, not even in the slightest, but the idea of having his hand around your throat in such a manner aroused you, and then out of nowhere you were picturing him in his Frost giant form, you closed your eyes as you envisioned the godly giant you had seen just a few minutes ago, you pictured his large hand around your throat and then you imagined your average sized human body rubbing against his giant blue one. Holy shit you had discovered a new kink just now.
"What if I do?" He asked you before he pressed his lips on yours again and kissed you roughly.
"You are not going to hurt me lo, if there's one thing I know about you then it's the fact that you would never ever hurt me in that way, I trust you more than I trust anyone really. You're not a monster and you could never be..you're just a Frost giant and you're supposed to look different" he let go of his grip on your neck only to curl his hand behind your head and pulled you closer to kiss you again, you clutched on his shirt as you sat back down on the bed carefully, the kiss never broke as you laid down with him on top of you,
"It's not easy for me to accept who I am and it's even harder to think of you willing to touch me when I look like that" he whispered meekly, you wished you could have just taken away all of that self loathing from him but you knew it will take time, you had plethora of issues yourself to understand that it was never easy.
"Oh looo..it's okay baby, someday when you're not feeling this way I would love to see you as you again, you're beautiful in every form and every shape" your voice sounded barely audible as you wrapped your legs around him,
The dress you had on pooled around your thighs in the process, his hands roamed all over your bare thighs as he kissed you passionately.
"You would? You would want to see me like that?" He asked as if he couldn't believe that his princess really wanted to see him like that,
"See you and touch you and kiss you all over" his lips latched to yours as you whispered sweet nothings in his ears.
Everytime you two indulged in something remotely close to a sexual experience he felt your body getting warmer with every passing second, your face always seemed so flushed, he brought one of his hands up to play with your hair while the other one rubbed circles on the insides of your thighs. The warmth radiating from your frame underneath him always riled him up, it was the contrasting feeling against his cold one that affected him so deeply. He wanted you to melt underneath him while you'd just continue to keep him so hard and cold on top of him
"I love you"
As soon as he heard the sound escaping your throat everything paused around him, his nerves kept fluttering as he pulled himself up a little and looked at you, a look of bewilderment clearly visible on his face.
"I know it's probably too soon and I shouldn't be-" before you could finish your babbling nonsense he had his thumb pressed on your lips.
"Say it again…please" you smiled as he said that. He seemed as if he was in shock, wanting to hear the confession again but at the same time he was still astonished, the timing of the confession couldn't have been more glorious, he walked into this room thinking you'd be scared of him in the least but now you were telling him that you loved him.
"I love you lo, I know I do, for once in my life i know that I am in love and i love you.. so much and it scares me because I don't think I'll ever be able to fall in love again with someone who is not you, I always dreamt of a man like you and I found you, it's nothing less than a miracle for me"
As soon as you finished speaking, he placed his forearms down on the bed on either side of your head and kissed you, his tongue slipped past your lips so you sucked on it like a popsicle, he was so cold and he always tasted so sweet, he was a dream come true to life.
"I love you" he mumbled softly,
"You do?" Your eyes teared up as he said that, you feared that he was just saying it to please you. And it scared you eve more when you realised that this was it. Where would you two go from here? You never had guys stick around with you once the honeymoon phase had ended, so you didn't really know what to expect. You just didn't want to lose him so soon or ever really.
"I do, I don't know how to describe these emotions that I have for you other than those words, granted i have only ever said them to one woman before you, my mother" you chuckled as he said that
"You never fell in love before lo? That's a long life to go without love, I was losing my mind at just 30" he nodded as you said that.
"Perhaps i was searching for the heat myself, all I had to do was find you..right place at the right time"
You smiled before you pulled him closer to you, he placed his head between the crook of your neck and you embraced him as tightly as you could.
Your phone had started to ring so you sighed and picked it up, it was your mom so you sat up and talked to her. She was just asking about your injury so you told her that you were feeling better.
"What are we going to do now?" You asked him as you hung up the phone, he was standing at the edge of the bed thinking about it.
"Well I have to feed you first, I'll go get something" he mumbled so you crawled towards him and hugged him.
"Is it bad that I want to kill Melissa?"
"Not really, want to do it together? " you giggled as he said that. After kissing you he picked you up and took you to the bathroom since you wanted to shower before dinner. Once you came out you caught him knitting something on the couch, he was so engrossed that he didn't hear the door opening, he was quick to make the needles and the fabric disappear as your eyes met with him. You wanted to say something but decided to not do so since he already seemed so embarassed.
As you sat down next to him, he wrapped his arm around your waist and picked you up to make you sit on his lap.
"I think you should wear my clothes tomorrow"
"Mmmhmmm you want that? I can do it now" You told him so he put you down on the couch before he hopped towards his closet excitedly to bring one of his shirts for you, he turned around so you could change, you buttoned it all the way up but you were clearly drowning in them. After dinner he showered before you two watched a movie on the couch, you were laying on his lap so you turned on your back once the movie finished.
"I had a weird dream this afternoon" his brows furrowed as you said that.
"What did you see?" He questioned as his fingers scratched your scalp gently
"It was so weird, I was at a party or something, dancing"
"You love dancing "
"I do..don't i?" He giggled as you said that "I was feeling thirsty or tired so I went to the bar, guess who I met there looking sexy as ever in a black fancy suit?"
"Little one if it's not me you need to tone down the excitement" you hit on his chest playfully as he said that.
"It was you but we didn't know each other and then out of nowhere you asked me to dance and we were dancing to that song, remember when we smoked weed and I was playing that sexy song?"
"I remember very well" he smiled
"Yeah and there was this intense heat between us, but apparently I was going through a divorce and you won't believe who my ex husband was"
"I hope it's not my brother"
"Noooo ..it was that doctor guy I met yesterday, Stephen " his brows furrowed again as you said that
"What else do you remember?"
"Not much, oh ..I asked you why you were there at the party and you said Stephen had called you for something, I mean what would a neurosurgeon want from you? And how would he even contact you.. it was so silly" you shrugged as you played with the buttons of his shirt. He was so lost in his thoughts that he hadn't even noticed you unbuttoning them slowly. He also had a weird dream about you and now this, for some reason these dreams didn't feel like just dreams. He snapped out of his thoughts as he felt your lips on his neck, sucking softly.
"Mmmm darling?"
"Mmmhhmm!"
"Did you play that sexy song on purpose" you pulled away to look at him as he said that.
"Maybe" he smiled before he picked you up and walked towards the bed.
His room was dimly lit but you could see him perfectly, as he put you down on the bed, he took his shirt off that you had already unbuttoned. He lifted your feet up to inspect the injury, his fingers rubbed slowly over the area, he just wanted to heal whatever discomfort you were feeling at the moment.
"Come here" you put your hand forward so he grabbed it and you pulled him on top of you.
"You drive me insane, you know that? I feel like a hormonal teenager around you, I never thought I'd ever find a man who would make me feel this way" you whispered softly, a smile adorned his beautiful face with your words, his fingers linked with yours before he placed your hands over your head and kissed you passionately.
Unhooking his hands from yours he slowly sneaked them inside your shirt, His hips moved slowly over your clothed heat, strings of moan left your mouth at the building sensation. He laid down on his side much to your disappointment but then you felt his hand between your legs, he rubbed slowly up and down before his hand slipped past the waistband of your shorts, you moaned his name out loud as he cupped your mound,
"Is this alright darling?" He whispered in your ear and it made you feel hotter somehow.
"Please don't stop" the whiny tone of your voice made his jaw clench, he could feel your wetness seeping through the fabric, he placed the tip of his thumb on your clit and rolled them in circles, the action made you arch your back, one of your arm wrapped around his neck to hold him while the other one gripped the bed sheet, his lips sucked onto your neck, soft wet kisses felt like an assault on your already heightened senses.
"You're such a pretty girl..look at you" he whispered softly, you bit on your lips as he stimulated your clit with his skilled fingers, no words came out of your mouth except moans of his name. He wasn't even touching your bare skin but your whole body felt aflamed,
"Lo…oh god please" your thighs squeezed around his hand, the desperate need to hump him like this made your hips buck back and forth involuntarily..
"I have never been so patient with a woman darling, never took so long to bed her, but for you I'd wait forever if you'd want me to. Watching you amidst this whirlpool of scintillating pleasure feels as if all the norns in all of the realms came together just to bless me with a little goddess of my own" your eyes teared up with overwhelming emotions, the ministration of his fingers and his words flooded your heart with such happiness that you never thought you'd find, you only found them in your fantasies but this was better than all of your fantasies, it was everything because it was real.
Your body convulsed as the orgasm swept you away in one quick wave, it was intense, it took your breath away.
He moaned by the sight of your writhing form, his fingers continued their torture on your cunt while he used his other hand to stroke your head like a pet.
"Looo…" the whiny sound of his name slipped past your lips making him smile
"That's it little one, that's my good girl, so beautiful.. i love you" he kissed you briefly before he rested his head on his own arm, his eyes traveled back and forth from your face and heaving breasts. He was so proud of himself at the moment.
"Goddd you're a god ..for real" he chuckled as you said that.
The mischievous smile didn't last however when you immediately cupped his bulge and gave him a gentle squeeze.
"My turn"
You lifted yourself up and he was now laying on his back, he kept looking at you and once in a while he'd put his head up to watch your hands rubbing his cock slowly.
"I'm so unbelievably wet"
"Mmmmhmmm?" He smirked but he noticed the frown on your face.
"What's wrong?" You squeezed your eyes shut as your stomach twisted painfully, you immediately stopped touching him as you sat up.
"I think I'm on my periods"
😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑
Note : Weirdest ending to a chapter i have ever written. Next chapter will be weirder as poor blue balled loki frantically trying to find period products for her 🤣

Twisted Love Part 6
Loki x Reader
Tumblr media
Pairing: Loki x Wife reader
Warnings: Forced marriage, language, anxiety, panic attacks, naughty talk lol, if I forgot anything please let me know!
Summary: You find the source of the noise.
The dimming of the sky caught your attention.
Perhaps you should be getting back before anyone worries about your absence.
You are just about to turn back when a sudden howl has you frozen to the spot.
*Ooooowaooooooooooo*
Heavens did you wander too far?? Was a wolf going to make you it's dinner now??
You backed up a few steps quietly listening for any sign of the wolf.
*owoooooooooooooooo*
You knew that sound. That wasn't the sound of a predator hunting it's prey... no that was the sound of a wounded animal.
But still something was off...
It howled again and against every voice telling you to high tail it back to camp your feet found themselves walking in the opposite direction.
The howl- no-cry grew louder and you knew you were heading in the right direction.
You veered off the trail down a rocky slope. The rocks cut into your feet but you hardly noticed.
The cry was practically in your ear now and once you reached the bottom of the slope you found the source of the pained calling.
A small furry being, the color of fallen snow was hanging onto a broken branch, it's two front paws gripping wildly to the wood whilst it's legs swung helplessly trying to grip but failing. Below the creature was a rushing body of water, not too wide but to the creature it was an ocean.
With little to no hesitation you bounded towards the baby in distress.
The freezing water biting at your skin the moment you entered it. Your lungs burned with the effort it took to wade over to the branch.
By the time you reached the little wolf the water was up to your neck.
"Here little one, don't be afraid! C-come on, please- come on, you can trust me! just a little more- come on!- ah" you winced slipping onto a sharp rock below, your head bobbing under for a moment.
*cough* *cough* "I-It's ok, it's ok, I'll save you I p-promise!" You tried reaching again, managing to grab onto the furry scruff for a moment before it slipped through your fingers. The current kept trying to rip you away which made every attempt even harder.
Your eyes went wide when the tiny paws lost their grip.
You dove forward and gasped in relief when you felt the bundle of fur. You gripped it hard towards your body, knowing that if you let go the current would take the creature forever.
The creature struggled in your grasp and you tried your best to calm it down whilst wading back towards the rocks.
You collapsed on the stones coughing and sputtering. The bundle was still wrapped in your arms although it did calm down. When you caught your breath enough you rolled to the side enough to look at the little wolf.
"A-are you alright little one?" The poor little thing shook its fur in an attempt to dry itself but was clearly shivering.
“What are you doing out here on your own hmm?” The cub regarded you warily but when you reached out your hand it wasn’t long before you felt a nudge.
You picked up the cub bringing it close to your chest. “Sorry my sweet, I know it’s not exactly a cozy fire but we wouldn’t want you to get sick would we? I promise as soon as I get back Ill wrap you up in warm furs- oh dear- not wolf furs of course- other furs- fake furs- just forget I said anything…” you continued on babbling to the cub wrapped up in your arms and made your way back in the direction of camp.
By the looks of the sky you’d been gone a long while. Hopefully you didn’t cause any trouble…
A short while later you found yourself near the border of the camp.
You paused just before exiting the tree line.
You looked down at yourself, soaking wet, clothing ripped, covered in mud.
I can’t exactly walk into camp looking like this…
“Alright little one, you’re going to have to be very quiet alright?” You hid the creature inside of your dress the best you could.
Using the shadows of other tents you managed to sneak your way past the smaller ones of the guards and then hurriedly stepped through the flaps of the bigger one made for you and Loki.
Finally the warmth of the enchanted fire place inside had you sighing in relief.
The cub squirmed out of your dress and practically sprinted to the heated flames. You laughed as you watched it roll around the fur lined floor in comfort.
“Now that’s more like it hmm?”
“Now you just wait there while I slip into something a bit more comfortable….
Heavens I’m so wet, once I tear these clothes off me and you are going to take a nice hot bath and warm each other up-“
Just then a sudden clanging had your head swinging towards the tent entrance.
Your eyes widen at what you see.
Loki is there, his breathing almost…heavy? His brows furrowed deeply as you watched his gaze circle the room before landing on you, and when they did you felt you wanted to have the universe swallow you up.
His eyes slowly roamed from top to bottom and then once more. As if he wasn’t quite sure what he was looking at and truth be told he wasn’t.
“L-Loki-“ his eyes immediately flicked up to you. You gulped frozen to the spot.
“What on Asgard-” A little yap had you both snapping towards the fire where the little wolf was. Then slowly Loki’s gaze made it back to you but you did notice him flickering around the room as if searching for something.
“I-I” the panic took control of your tongue again like it always seemed to do.
Loki raised a single brow waiting for your explanation.
“You…?”
“I’m wet”.
*********************************************
I tried to end it on a funny note lol. Also very sorry for the wait, the next chapters won't take so long. I'm going to try to update at least once a week from now on!

Apollo, and Loki x fem circus ringleader who has the battle arena changed to a circus like how jack fought in london . And reader's volunder is a magic hat that can send attacks back or a whip . And before reader finishes them off reader says to the arena
" Let's give a round of applause to our star guest ! For there hard battle !
-As a massive circus tent was put up over the arena, blocking out the sun, and light illuminated everything and everyone, many were curious about what was going on- excited that they were going to see a show.
-(Love) was looking around as he walked out first, looking amused, as this was something similar when Jack fought, only instead of a miniature city, it’s just a circus tent with the arena being a circus ring.
-A spotlight shown down upon the entrance for humanity, and you walked out, wearing a ringmaster’s outfit, fishnet stockings covering your legs and shorts instead of pants with a pair of knee high, high heeled boots, and a long swallowtail coat and a large matching top hat on your head (men look good in fishnets and heels too lol).
-(Love) was surprised, not expecting you to walk out as you bowed at the waist, almost like you were giving a show as the humans cheered for you and you waved.
-You turned to (Love) a grin on your face, “Let’s give them the best show this world has ever seen!” Your enthusiasm was rather infectious, and he couldn’t help but smile, looking amused as you didn’t seem bothered or scared in the slightest.
-He was more than willing to play along, bowing at the waist, “After you, Ringmaster Y/N!”
-You lifted your hat, your Volundr, from your head, twirling it around so the hole was facing him, and he was not expecting a cannon ball to shoot out at him.
-(Love) only barely dodged, “What the hell?!” you grinned, pulling out birds from your hat, like it was a magic trick before you pulled out a whip, one you used for show, not for hitting animals (I will accept no arguments on this).
-Despite being in high heels, you were very agile, easily dodging his own weapons and blows, using your whip to grab at his ankles and wrists, to limit his movement.
-You twirled your hat before throwing it up and fireworks and confetti started to shoot off, distracting him as you managed to grab him with your whip, binding his whole body with the tip ending with a crack against his ass, making him yelp.
-You grinned down at him, bowing deeply at the waist after you caught your hat again, “Let’s give him a round of applause ladies and gentlemen! And thank you for making this the best show on earth!”
-You were announced the winner, and you pulled your whip, turning (Love) into a spinning top for a moment which made you grin lightly.
-He held his head, trying to get his eyes to stop spinning before stumbling over, “That was pretty impressive- you sure got a lot of tricks up your sleeves.”
-You grinned warmly, hands on your hips, “It comes with the territory!”
-Apollo- Couldn’t help but smile, you were so full of life, so full of passion, and to him, it was so beautiful as he took one of your gloved hands, pecking the back of it, “May I have the honor of taking you to dinner?” you were surprised, as most would ask the person who beat them out on a date, but you immediately grinned, agreeing and he kept a hold of your hand, truly curious on what else you could do, curious about your skills both in and out of the circus ring.
-Loki- He cupped your cheek, flirting with you, “Does hitting my ass also come with the territory?” you couldn’t help but grin, immediately flirting back, “No- but hitting it makes it my territory.” Loki’s mouth fell open, immediately smitten by your witty comeback as you smirked at him, giving him a wink, “Gonna have to try harder than that.” Good thing that Loki had a lot of his own tricks up his sleeve, ones he was planning on using to make you his.

Loki was always sure of his plans. He planned to take over the world, but to do that, he needed an army. You were both staying in Asgard as Loki began to form and arrange his plans.
"In a rush, love?" you inquired. Knowing full well his response. You looked at Loki, the man you loved and choose to ran away with, the man who you loved that convinced you to run, to rebel against Asgard and take what's 'rightfully' his. The thought of it terrified you, of course. But in all of the days you've come to love Loki, it was the first time you'd seen him so angry, so determined. Besides, you couldn't say no to him when he asked you to support him from the side. He was the man you loved, and to love is to fight.
"I know, darling. I'm sorry, but today is an important day. I'll finally be able to sign a treaty–a promise, with them." Loki sighed as he put on his signature green cloak. 'The Chitauri.'  The ones Loki hoped to form an alliance with, to help him with the war he was about to face.
"Be safe, Loki. I'll be waiting for you." Loki approached you and pressed his lips on your forehead, then your cheek. "I'll make it up to you, my queen." He whispered. A gold-like color illuminated Loki, and in a flash, he disappeared.
Tumblr media
... "FUCK!" Loki threw his daggers down on the floor.
"What happened? Why are you yelling?" You rush to him as he shuts the door loudly. He buries his face on your neck, breathing your scent in.
You wrap your arms around his neck, embracing him back, finding warmth and comfort in his affection. "They ran off, annoying bastards. They vetoed being led by me, and when I got infuriated, they decided to attack me. Only when I slaughtered those damn big creatures did they retreat." He huffed in anger.
You ran your fingers through his hair and caressed him softly. "It's alright, Loki. You'll find a new army, I'm sure of it." Even though you were now firmly against his plans, you still offered him assurance.
Loki always seemed so.. Anti-villain, but to you, he was simply misunderstood—afraid. "Thank you, Love—your right. I'll try to bargain with those fools. If they refuse, I'll just kill them all." He grinned.
"There's my Loki." You kissed his forehead and pushed away from his grasp. "Let's head to bed, shall we?"
Tumblr media
You wake up stretching your arms to find no one at your side. "Loki?" You softly whisper. You sit up to see Loki dressing in his usual working clothes.
"Right. Will you be back soon?" The lack of affection you both had lately was itching in your mind.
"I'll be back soon, darling." He replied, but his face was filled with slight remorse. 'Stay.' You wanted to voice out so badly. But you couldn't–you didn't want to foil or deter his plans. So you nodded and waved him off.
You stood up, deciding that if he wouldn't spend time with you, you'd spend time with yourself. You started putting on a fitted t-shirt, baggy pants, and a flannel with the ends tied together. You opened the doors to your room and went straight to Heimdall.
"Hello, Heimdall." You greeted him with a tilt of the head. "Midgard?" He asked. You chuckled softly as you nodded your head. He opens the Bifrost, and you walk through it.
Tumblr media
You walk through the shops of Midgard. They have so much variety compared to Asgard. Walking through the streets, you find a shop that particularly caught your eye.
You walk over to it, and the doors jingle. "Welcome to Darcy's Jewels!" A loud greeting was offered as you went in.
"Hello! Do you have any Gold Vermeil rings?" You inquired. The girl that assisted you smiled and pulled out a selection of rings. There were different designs, such as: butterflies, crowns, gems, and more. A shining green light distracts you from your side, and you look upon a ring. It was a plain gold ring twisted into a braid, partnered with an emerald green jem all around. The girl assisting you smiled as you pointed to the ring. You paid for it and went out, waving away from the store.
You look at the little purple bag and the red box inside it. You smiled and decided to go back to Asgard. As you were walking, you suddenly stopped. You looked to your right to see an alleyway—you couldn't shake the feeling that someone, something, was following you.
Suddenly, a hand reached out to you in the darkness, pulling you by the arm. You yelped and held on tight to the little bag. You caught sight of the arm that grabbed you, and it looked rather..unworldly. It pinned you to the wall with the arm now covering your mouth. "Stay put, and you might live mortal."
Tumblr media
...
Loki was in a dining hall, a tree-like table was flooded with chitauri soldiers on both sides, with Loki seated up front.
The leader of the Chitauri slammed its hand on the table. “Loki of Asgard, we refuse once more. We do not see you as fit to be a leader. Odin has refused you the throne for a reason.”
“Really? Well, I suppose we have no other way.” Loki took out his daggers and pointed them to the Chitauri Leader. The monster chuckled at the sight of the God of Mischief. Loki raised one of his brows slightly, but instead of inquiring, it's a How dare you? Type of eyebrow.
“You must’ve forgotten that you still have a weakness, aesir.”
Loki's brows furrowed, and his eyes laced with malice. “What did you do? What did you do to her?” The Chitauri laughed as they saw the God’s expression shift into a desperate plea.
Tumblr media
You were stuck between a wall and a chitauri with one hand clutching your gift. ‘Just great,’ You thought.
You lifted your right leg to the chitauri’s chest and pushed him away. He grunts and launches himself forward, pinning you to the wall. You slap him with your free arm and bite his left arm. He groans, and you rush out of the alley, going thru the sea of people in the streets.
“HEIMDALL-??” You scream, a blast of rainbow begins to ascend you. You caught a glimpse of the Chitauri running away in the other direction.
You arrive in Asgard. Huffing and trying to catch your breath. “Thank you-“
“He is waiting for you.” You were cut off by Heimdall speaking without glancing at you. You wordlessly try to understand what he means, a lightbulb sparking inside you. “Loki!” You squealed, getting up and running towards the Asgardian Palace.
Tumblr media
...
You open the doors to your quarters to find Loki standing ominously in the middle of the room. His hair was disheveled, and his face in anger. “Loki!” You run toward him, craving his warmth after what you have been through.
“Where have you been?” He asked. He held you by the shoulders as you stood before him, holding onto your gift tightly.
You look at him, surprised by his tone, slightly terrifying but assuring yourself that Loki would not hurt you by any means. “O-On Midgard? Listen, the Chitaur–“
“I KNOW. THEY TOLD ME Y/N. YOU COULD'VE BEEN KILLED OR TAKEN.” Loki hung his head as he breathed deeply in desperation and anger.
You were surprised at his sudden outburst, ‘they told him?’ You were so confused about what was happening but proceeded to calm Loki down first. “But I wasn't killed nor taken. I'm alive. I'm right here. I'm fine.” You say, not moving an inch from where you stood.
“(y/n). You we're lucky- just, please, stay here. Stay inside." Loki stuttered with his words, gasping sentence's like he couldn't breathe.
You just couldn't understand, why is he acting like this? you we're safe, is that simply not enough? must he cage you? "Loki, why-"
"Because if they threaten me with you, it WILL work.” Tears. Droplets of water fell to the floor. It was Loki’s. You sighed and dropped your gift to the ground. “Loki. I'm sorry to have been such a burden to you.” You felt like you we're weakening him, holding him back from being reckless, holding him back from his true nature.
Loki lifts his face, and you see his eyes glistering with tears. “Darling, no, no. That's not what I meant.” He cups your face and kisses your forehead. “I'm sorry, I'm so scared of losing you." He breathes out.
"You're the only thing keeping me sane. If I lose you, i won't be able to take it, i'd die without you (y/n)."
With nothing to say, you bent down and smiled softly to grab the gift. “Here, this is why I went out to Midgard.” Loki tilted his head as he took the gift from your hands. He puts his hand in and grabs the red box.
His expression shifted to awe as he saw the gift inside it. He took it out and slipped it onto his finger, raising his hand to admire the ring. “It's breathtaking. Thank you. Also, i’m glad you’re safe.” He hugs you tightly, a desperate hug, a plea to never leave him.
You sighed softly. You saw the state of Loki’s well-being and thought, ‘How poisoned this man is with my love.’
“I love you, Loki.” You whisper. “you have no idea.” He responds.

Snowball Fight
Winter Masterlist - Loki Oneshot Masterlist - Main Masterlist
POV: Second
Ship: Loki x Reader
Type: Fluff
Wordcount: 734
Prompt: "Snowball Fight"
Synopsis: You decide to throw a snowball at the trickster god. What else should happen but a full-fledged snowball fight amongst the Avengers?
A/N: Ok so I have recuperate from tech week (somewhat) and I'm actually doing this December challenge thing where there's 31 winter-y prompts I collected from different lists! This one was "Snowball Fight."
Tumblr media
White snow coated the grounds where you and the Avengers stood. Despite your better judgment, you made sure that nobody was watching before reaching down and scooping some snow up in your hands.
You bunched the snow up to make a snowball, eyes scooping over the Avengers to pick out your target. The God of Mischief caught your eye, and he narrowed his eyes at you. “What-” He began, but you didn’t give him a chance to speak before hurling the ball straight at him.
It hit him square in the chest, and he looked at you in shock. You grinned in triumph, watching as the others turned to look at what was unfolding.
Unfortunately for you, Loki grinned right back at you, except in a much more mischievous way. Uh oh, you thought, that can’t be good.
Loki bent down, forming a much bigger snowball with his hands. You gulped and ran the opposite way, but Loki teleported right in front of you, causing you to freeze in place. “Now, Loki, we can talk about this-”
Just like you had done, he didn’t let you finish. He threw the snowball right at your face.
Of course, he didn’t throw it hard, he would never hurt you, but he did make it to where the snow made your face unfathomably cold. You raised your mittened hands to wipe the snow off of your face, looking at him in shock.
Before you could even think to respond to his attack, another snowball was launched at Loki. You turned around to see Natasha, smiling. “That’s for hitting Mishka.”
After that, all hell broke loose. Tony caught some of the snowball spirit and pelted one at Steve, who returned several more. Clint hit everyone he could with precise aim. You and Loki took turns throwing and dodging snowballs that were increasingly growing in size.
Eventually, the Avengers were split up into two unofficial teams. Your team and Loki’s team-although, not many on Loki’s side were really there in support of Loki, they just found themselves on the receiving end of your snowballs.
On your side of the battle you had Natasha, Bruce, Tony, Wanda, and Sam. On Loki’s side of the snow there was Thor, Steve, Bucky, and Vision. Clint was somewhere in the middle, on his own team, hitting everyone else.
Sam had made a little snow wall for you to duck down behind to avoid being pelted with snowballs, and you and he worked on making several snowballs so you could attack all at once.
You called over the other members of your team, letting them know you were going to give it your best all at once. Everyone made their snowballs, and on the count of three, you directed them to start shooting at Loki and his group.
They were caught by surprise, and a particularly large snowball knocked Thor to the ground. Natasha had thrown that one, and she had some serious force behind her throws. Who would have thought the Red Room would prepare her for future snowball fights?
Regaining their composure, your opponents began to return their all as well. You caught Loki using his magic to make snowballs, so you allowed Wanda to use her’s to make it fair.
Suddenly, an idea slipped through your mind. You whispered to Natasha and Wanda, who nodded and went to cause a distraction.
You made a large, sturdy snowball and slipped past the others and behind Loki’s side. You spotted Loki with his back turned towards you, and smirked.
With nobody on his side spotting you, you ran towards Loki at full speed and jumped on his back, tackling him to the ground. “Hrmph,” he grunted, and you shoved your snowball down his jacket front.
He yelped into the snow, caught off guard, and you raised your hands in victory. “Aha! Victory!”
There was a ceasefire as both sides looked to you sitting atop the trickster god. As you were about to force him to admit defeat, he used his weight to flip your positions so you were now below him. Your neck met the frosty welcome of the ground, and he looked down at you with a smirk on his face.
“Cat got your tongue? You were so eager to announce your victory mere seconds ago.” He said, teasing you.
You huffed. “Fine.” You grumbled. “Perhaps we can call it a draw.”

until it doesn't hurt
pairing: Bruce Banner/Reader
the reader's race and gender are ambiguous; no pronouns or physical descriptors are used.
summary: “I could’ve caused you irreversible harm,” Bruce says. It’s almost a practiced recitation at this point, and you have to wonder if he truly believes that—or if he’s just been conditioned by everyone around him to believe he is only capable of inflicting pain. “You didn’t,” you maintain, for what feels like the thousandth time. Bruce is so caught up in the hypotheticals that he refuses to see the success right in front of him: the fact that he didn’t so much as lay a finger on you.

Tumblr media
warnings: canon-typical violence
Being an Avenger means you have to be ready for anything at all times. That spontaneity is difficult to adjust to at first, but as time passes, you grow used to it. You grow used to sleeping lightly; to stashing weapons just about anywhere you can keep them; to having few restful days and many restless ones. The moment your powers manifested, you knew you would be a hero: not because you wanted to be one, but because it would be your responsibility to protect those who needed protecting.
You weren’t always an Avenger. At first, you were just a rogue—kind of a vigilante. But then the attack on New York happened—Loki happened—and everything flew out the window. Suddenly, you were out on the street in broad daylight, trying your best to keep the civilians safe. That was how you crashed into Iron Man of all people. You exchanged banter and insults, but when it came down to it, you protected him, and he protected you. And Tony is extremely persistent—it didn’t take long for him to sink his claws into you and drag you back to the Avengers Tower.
From there, you gradually get to know the other Avengers. Steve and Clint are relatively friendly right off the bat. Natasha is a bit more difficult—you have to earn her trust before she starts to open up to you. But eventually, somehow, you manage to bond with all of the other occupants of the Tower. At least, all of them except Bruce Banner.
Bruce is an interesting case. He almost immediately dismissed you when Tony first introduced you, instead deigning to focus on his experiments. You hadn’t taken offense to Bruce’s reclusive behavior, nor had you taken the hint that he didn’t want to get to know you. Instead, you had all but forced him to acknowledge you. This manifested in a multitude of ways: from going out of your way to talk to him to offering to help with his research. Bruce is extremely protective of his laboratory, but somehow he deemed you capable enough to serve as his laboratory assistant. You were more than content to hand him capsules and adjust minor things, while he did the brunt of the work. You took the gifted opportunities to attempt to get to know him better. At first, it was like speaking to a brick wall. But somewhere along the way, his cold and uncaring façade began to crack. You slowly worked your way up to meaningless small talk—and, later, casual conversation.
Truthfully, you really enjoy spending time with Bruce. But he’s rather unpredictable—sometimes he’ll push you away, and other times he’ll play along. You know that he has a lot of baggage—what with his childhood and his alter-ego. You’ve been trying to convince him that you care about him—that you’re not going to abandon him or villainize him—but he doesn’t ever seem to believe you. He always conducts himself with some semblance of suspicion and doubt; it almost seems like he’s waiting for you to wake up to reality and run away screaming.
Still, progress is progress—no matter how slow. You’re happy with how you’ve slowly bonded with him, and you can only hope that there’s more on the horizon for the both of you.
…You never consider the possibility that something could happen to make things worse—to destroy your progress and send you right back to the start.
“We need you for something.”
You’re brutally torn from your reverie, forced to slowly come back to yourself. You’re sitting in the living room, staring ahead at the blank wall. How long have you been sitting here? All you know is that it’s no longer light outside, and that Natasha is standing in front of you with a firm expression.
“I- what?” You stammer, still processing what’s happening. “Nat-”
“It’s important,” she says. You get to your feet before she can continue speaking. “Trust me.” You do trust her. Natasha isn’t one for over-exaggeration or dramatics; when she says something is important, she means it. And the grave expression on her face is only worrying you more. You follow after her as she walks down the hall and towards the elevators. The two of you step into the space and she presses a button, before the elevator slowly rises.
In hindsight, perhaps you should’ve been a bit more suspicious. Why would she be taking you to another floor in the Tower? Typically, when there’s a new development or an imminent threat, you’ll be directed to another location—either to combat the threat or to strategize. Furthermore, there’s a strained silence in the air between Natasha and you. Nat’s shoulders are drawn tight and she’s staring ahead pointedly, as if avoiding your eyes.
The elevator dings and you breathe an internal sigh of relief, hoping to get rid of this needless tension. But before you can begin to take a step, you’re being roughly shoved out of the elevator and into the hallway. It takes you several moments to get your bearings—at which point you recognize the telltale sounds of the doors behind you closing, and the elevator dropping back down to where you came. You stare at the closed doors in disbelief, before turning to look back down the hall. One of the recreational rooms is straight ahead, and you hear yelling.
Once you’re standing in the doorway, you’re able to place the inexplicable noises you were hearing. Bruce is in his Hulk form, green and raging as he throws anything within his grasp at the walls around him. You’re willing to bet Natasha brought you here to do something about this. Why she thinks you’re the best person to calm Bruce down, you’re not sure.
“Bruce,” you say slowly. Bruce promptly freezes, an exercise machine lifted over his head. He stares down at you; you stare up at him. He’s momentarily distracted by you. “It’s okay.” He’s silent. You hold your hands out at your sides in mock surrender. “I’m not here to hurt you,” you continue. “You’re safe.”
Silence. You take a slow breath. The machine he’s holding over his head drops a fraction of an inch.
“It’s okay, Bruce.” You repeat, pushing as much conviction into your voice as you can. Your effort seems to work, as his eyebrows furrow. For a moment, there’s nothing but silence as the two of you stare at each other. Then, his visage shifts and you’re suddenly looking at Bruce Banner—disheveled and exhausted.
“Are you alright-?” You’re compelled to ask. The scientist is back in human form, wearing nothing but a tattered pair of pants; bruises and scratches litter his skin; and there’s a distant expression on his face. He seems to snap out of his trance when he hears your voice.
“What the hell are you doing?” Bruce then spits. You immediately flinch at the unexpected anger. “Seriously, what the fuck are you doing here?” His gaze is flitting about the room quickly, before settling on you with fevered intensity. You’ve never seen Bruce look so irate before. He’s a remarkably composed man (although you suspect he bottles up anger and rage and lets it out in bursts as the Hulk). Indeed, this kind of fury is typical for the Hulk, but exceedingly rare for Bruce.
“I didn’t-” You choke out helplessly, glancing back at the hall and, by extension, the elevator. “They-” It’s inexplicably difficult for you to get the words out.
“That was our doing.” A voice confesses from behind you. You turn around to find Nat and Tony standing behind you. The two of them approach and come to a stop at your side.
Bruce’s gaze locks on them with fiery focus. He brings a hand up to pinch the bridge of his nose. His glasses are nowhere to be seen—he must’ve dropped them somewhere as he transformed. “I expected better from both of you.”
“Bruce-” Tony tries to say, an apologetic expression on his face.
“What on earth made you think that throwing them out as bait was a good idea?” Bruce interjects furiously, motioning towards you. “You could’ve gotten them seriously injured!” He exclaims. Tony has the good grace to look embarrassed; Nat is staring ahead with a flat expression and her arms crossed over her chest.
“Bruce, I’m fine-” You try to say, quickly growing uncomfortable with the tension settling in the air.
“I could’ve harmed you,” Bruce is quick to assert. “Easily.” His voice is cold.
“But you didn’t,” you maintain. He’s not giving himself enough credit. More troubling is the idea that he has faith in his own cruelty—that he only sees himself as capable of harming someone. You don’t know what else to say, don’t know what could possibly be said to repair the evident years of damage done to this man’s psyche. The entire world has treated him as a weapon at best and an uncontrollable, irredeemable monster at worst.
“That doesn’t matter,” Bruce says with unshakeable certainty. He retreats from the room, leaving you to stare after him in confusion and shock. You turn to face Natasha and Tony, who are both staring at the doorway with complex looks.
You want to tell them off, but the words that leave your lips are far different than you intend them to be. “Should I go after him?” You ask instead. Bruce is the primary concern right now—you can chew Tony and Nat out later. You’ve known him for a bit now, and have grown to interpret his expressions fairly easily. You’ve seen Bruce express a lot of emotions… but the look on his face just now is completely foreign to you.
“Probably,” Tony admits.
“I don’t think we should,” Natasha says, motioning towards Tony and herself. “He’s mad at us. And… rightfully so.” She exchanges a glance with Tony, whose lips are pressed in a thin line. It’s clear they didn’t give enough thought to their whole plan.
“You’ll be fine, though,” Tony says with unfounded conviction. Nat places a hand on your shoulder and grips it reassuringly. You take a deep breath and come to a decision, walking down the hall and towards the elevator doors.
Moments later, you’re walking out of the lift and down the dim hallway leading to Bruce’s bedroom. He’s entirely alone on this floor of the tower. You pause in front of his door for a few seconds, wondering if you should walk away. But you can’t. Instead, you knock on the door four times. “Bruce?” You ask. Despite the clear sturdiness of the door, he’s able to hear you.
“Go away.” Bruce responds. His voice is a little muffled, and you have to strain to hear him.
You’re hurt for the briefest of moments. Then you shelf the feeling and resolve yourself to tackling it later. “I’m coming in,” you announce, placing your hand against the scanner at the edge of the doorway. The scanner flashes green and the door slides open, revealing Bruce’s bedroom. You’ve never been here before. It’s modestly decorated, with mostly monotone shades. Nothing particularly strikes you, save for the giant desk in the corner of the room. Papers litter the entire surface of the desk, and a few are covered by Bruce’s arms.
The man doesn’t look up as you approach. “I don’t want to see you,” Bruce says. His back is turned and you’re unable to see his expression.
“I don’t care,” you respond, taking a few steps into the space until you’re a short (yet seemingly insurmountable) distance from Bruce. He’s sitting at his desk, rubbing his hands over his eyes roughly. It doesn’t take long for you to remember your guilt. “Bruce, I don’t want you to torture yourself over this.” Maybe you shouldn’t have interfered in the first place.
“I could’ve caused you irreversible harm,” Bruce says.
“No, I don’t think you understand,” Bruce says with a shake of his head. He pushes himself out of his chair and gets to his feet, turning around to face you. Your eyes widen as you notice the torn expression on his face, the dark circles under his eyes, and the determination written in every line of his form. “My eyes locked onto you and, for a split second, I envisioned harming you. Deliberately.” The confession clings to the air like a vice.
“But you didn’t act on that impulse,” you assert. “You suppressed it.”
“So?” Bruce argues. “I still had the urge. You should be disgusted, afraid-”
“I’m not afraid of you, Bruce,” you interrupt. The statement lingers heavily in the air between the two of you. For a long moment, there’s nothing but the faint hum you’ve grown to associate with the Tower itself.
“You should be,” Bruce then mutters. And suddenly he’s standing in front of you, staring at you with a dark gaze. His fists are clenched at his sides and you see his skin flicker with shades of green, before it returns to normal. The man maneuvers you to the side and shoves you, until you’re hitting the wall behind you. Bruce’s hands move up to your shirt collar and he clenches at it, his fingers almost spasming as he tightens his grip. You just stare at him. “I could ruin you.” He murmurs, so quietly that you have to strain to hear it.
You want to argue with him so badly, but that strategy hasn’t been working so far. For some reason, Bruce has convinced himself that he not only has the capacity to hurt you, but that he wants to. You know that can’t be true, but how can you convince him? If he thinks he can ruin you… “Then do it,” you challenge him. He meets your eyes once more and you stare back unflinchingly, trying to convey how much you trust him.
If you thought the tension was suffocating before, it’s practically ripping the breath from your lungs now. Everything around you seems to fade into obscurity. All you can see is Bruce; all you can feel is Bruce. His fingers twitch and his grip falls from your collar. For an awful moment, you think he’s going to walk away—turn his back on you as he has done so many times before. But he doesn’t. Instead, he leans closer. If he’s trying to get you to back down, then it isn’t working.
At first, you want to think that Bruce is testing you. But the way he’s regarding you right now—with glittering desire in his eyes—makes you think otherwise. His hands move from the wall to your shoulders, back to the nape of your neck, until he gently tugs you forward. It’s hardly a strong pull, and you understand the choice he’s giving you.
But, you think fondly, there was never much of a choice. From the moment you locked eyes with him, you knew he would dominate your thoughts. And indeed, he has. You think about the hard-won look of approval in his eyes when you make an astute observation; the way he almost frantically looks across the battlefield, his posture instantly relaxing once he sees you; the contradictions written all over his skin; the rare smiles you felt privileged to see.
You lean forward and press your lips to his. Bruce is quick to reciprocate, his hands lingering at the nape of your neck before slipping down to your waist. You lock your arms around his shoulders, practically trapping him in your embrace. But from the strength of his grip, you can ascertain that the gesture is more than welcome.
Later, when you break apart, Bruce has a disbelieving expression on his face. He looks slightly dazed, as if suspicious of the reality he now finds himself in. You grasp his wrist gently.
“You can’t get rid of me, Bruce,” You murmur insistently, “...no matter how hard you try.”
He stares at you for another long moment. “And I have tried,” Bruce admits through a dry huff. You want to be offended by the comment, but you know it’s true. Bruce is stupidly self-sacrificing—he purposefully keeps his distance from people to protect them. But the reality of the situation is that people will come to harm regardless of his presence. “But you’re too stubborn.” That statement is spoken with a significant amount of fondness, and his hand comes up to cradle your cheek. You bring your hand up to rest on top of his.
“I’ll always be here, even when you don’t want me to be.” You promise. And maybe that promise isn’t yours to make, because one can never truly predict what will come next. But somehow, deep down, you know it to be true.
Bruce brings you close once more, an uncharacteristic note of boldness in the fluid movement. When you step back moments later, you find that he has a hint of a smile on his face. “I know,” Bruce says, the traces of apprehension on his face breaking and cracking to reveal a rare sight: unrestrained affection.

Tumblr media
There are many things Loki has done in his life. Many things he's done wrong. And he knew they'd catch up with him eventually.
He just hadn't thought they would so soon.
You and him were planning what to do when the inevitable would happen: you'd saved up money, quit your jobs, sold the majority of your furniture and started to pack and make travel arrangements.
Loki hated to do this, especially to someone as amazing as you. If life went his way, he would've left you much sooner so you wouldn't be involved. Or, even better, he would never have taken things to the next level with you at all.
He'd tried to gently break it to you. He'd tried to tell you he was running away and that you had to stay behind for your own safety. But, you being you, wouldn't let him leave without you. And, him being him, gave in to your stubbornness much too quickly.
In all honesty though, he's rather glad you insist on following him to the edges of the Earth and further. In all the wrongness in his life, it seems you're the only thing that's right. If it weren't for you, he's not sure he could've made it this far.
You'd both planned to leave in a few days, the final preparations being made to fall off the grid and into a life of constant running.
"It's okay," You had told him, running a gentle hand across his face. "We'll find a safe place eventually. And even if we don't, at least we'll be together,"
Loki could hardly look at you after your understanding words, but when he finally did, the small, worried smile sprawled across your features almost killed him with guilt. How could he do this to you? Force you into a lose lose situation? Either you stay with him and end up running for the rest of your life, or you never see him again.
He wants you to be happy and have a choice, even if he's not there. And he knows that you staying with him will take everything from you. You've already sacrificed so much for him, so how could he ask you to lose anymore?
Yet, every time he would bring this up with you, you'd always answer the same:
"You are my everything, my love. As long as I don't lose you, I am happy,"
So the plans were made. And they were so close to being complete. Bags were half-packed, the house close to empty. Any devices had been disconnected from the mains and abandoned, the last traces of the two of you inhabiting this small living space slowly being wiped away.
Loki had one more day to watch your tense body as you sped around the place, ensuring you had everything before you left the following night.
However, as per usual, the plans you and him were so close to completing were foiled. They arrived without being noticed - the both of you too distracted to sense something was off - and attacked when they were least expected.
"Do you think we should sell this?" You ask Loki, pointing to the kettle. He cringes, thinking of all the tea he won't get to brew; all the tea he won't get to drink. "And before you say anything," You continue. "We'll find tea somewhere, love. It's not exactly hard to ge-"
There's a loud crash; Loki instantly moves to shield you as the door is blown off its hinges and smashes onto the kitchen floor in a mess of small wooden fragments. Daggers form in his hands as the intruders charge forwards, aiming to capture him and anyone involved with his 'scheming' dead or alive. Blood is shed, the house: wrecked. Both you and Loki fight to keep your freedom - or at least, as much freedom as would be allowed in your current situation. More and more intruders barge into the house - much too many for two people to deal with on their own.
Loki is - of course - considered as the main threat, and therefore is swamped with the most attackers. He's pushed further and further into the house; further and further away from you. Upon noticing the absence of you fighting by his side, he has a horrible realisation.
It trips up his heart, leaving it hanging by a singular, fraying thread. All he knows is he has to get back to you. He has to, for who knows what could happen otherwise? You are strong, and a remarkable fighter... yet you are just a mortal. Your strength has its limits, and though you've awed many by surpassing those limits time and time again, you can't do it every time.
Loki uses his newfound fear and anger of the situation to create a wave of magic so strong it knocks back the majority of the attackers. He pushes past the rest of them, sending daggers and bolts of acid green magic in the direction of anyone in his way.
But it seems his attempts are futile. For every attacker he shrugs off, they're replaced by at least two - he's struggling to shake them all.
A sudden soul-shattering scream from somewhere nearby slashes at the final string holding his heart, sending it plummeting into an abyss of fear and horror. The feelings well up inside him, overwhelming his senses as he calls out for you.
Through some miracle, Loki manages to drop all who were attacking him. He sprints through the open front door, yelling your name as if it'll magically bring you back to his side so you may run away together.
He watches through eyes slowly clouding over with tears as you're manhandled and dragged across the floor to a van. You fight against the iron grips of the attackers, unbothered - or perhaps unbeknownst - to the blood smeared across your face.
Loki yells once more, shrugging off the hands of people who try to grab him. Attention is brought to the God, and he thinks that perhaps it's the perfect time for you to free yourself.
But instead, you simply stop.
You stop fighting. Stop shouting. Instead, you murmur eight words meant only for his ears.
"Run," He hears you say. "Run and don't you dare look back."
Without thinking twice about it, he does. He runs as tears begin to overspill, trickling down his face and undoubtedly leaving blotchy red trails. His footsteps fall heavily on the ground, his breathing unnaturally quick.
Loki keeps going - he keeps running until he's far away from the house, far away from the attackers, far away from... you. Eventually he can't move anymore and collapses on a park bench who knows where.
He's hungry, sweaty and exhausted; but most of all, his heart feels as if it's been dropped in poison. He just simply left you in the hands of those monsters. He left you to suffer on your own.
He left you behind.
And deep down he knows that your final words to him didn't just have one meaning.
Yes, you didn't want him to see you get thrown into the back of a van as if you were a ragdoll. Yes, you didn't want him to watch you get manhandled and hurt in the process.
But you also don't want him to look back on you. You don't want him to think about what was or what could have been. You don't want him to dwell on his mistakes and how he believes he led you into this. You don't want him to believe this is his fault.
You want him to forget about you so he can move on and potentially have the chance to be happy. And Loki knows this.
But how can he be happy when he's not with you?
He sits exhausted against the bench, the usually beautiful setting sun feeling as if it's taunting him. Fire-like rays of orange spread across the ground, the light making it look as if the trees are black with charcoal.
Loki wonders if he should listen to you. If he should forget about you and move on; leave you with those horrid people. A very small part of him thinks this may be the best option... for him at least.
The rest of him knows he can't just leave you there. It could kill you. He also doesn't believe he can survive without the constant light you bring him.
Shakily climbing to his feet, he begins work on a plan to rescue you and carry out the life you both used to wish you could have - a life where you don't have to run away. A life where you can be together without the constant fear.
Loki makes a quiet promise to himself, one he hopes he'll never break.
No more running.
