Changing Seasons: The Lakes [Loki x Reader]
The Lakes Masterlist / Regular Masterlist Summary: (1) A long journey with Thor, Steve and Loki ends in a ramshackle country cottage. But really, it's just begun. (w/c 3.8k) Warnings: Minors DNI. Language. Ex-Loki. Smut references. Humour/Mild angst. Recommended Folklore Track: The 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is fine.
It’s just five days. In this...cottage. With your ex. You’ll barely see him.
The tiny two story building sat before you, twisting wisteria claiming rough stoned walls. Burnt orange leaves sparked against the morning chill, rooted into windowsills and crumbling brickwork.
It was small. Really small.
You stretched your legs, observing Thor waddle from the car, laden with suitcases.
One fell.
“Watch that!” Steve snapped, on his last nerve after the drive from the Essex compound. A hand flew to his neck, massaging the twinge caused by six hours squashed in the back of a hastily acquired hatchback. “Your collection of personal toys, Rogers?” Loki drawled, letting his mirth-filled eyes slide between the two men. “Yes, brother do be careful. We wouldn’t want the captain to be without an outlet.” Steve’s face flushed, while Thor staggered valiantly onward to the cottage door. “I still don’t understand why we didn’t take the train,” Loki muttered with a theatrical sigh, a single brush down the front of his suit making every well-worn crease evaporate. “The two of you on a train,” Steve spat incredulously, “wouldn’t be great for subtlety.”
Every syllable was laden with frustration as he heaved another case from the trunk. The god nodded. “Even I must admit, this is much more entertaining Rogers” he replied, motioning towards the cottage at the exact moment Thor’s forehead smacked against the low awning.
The suitcases fell in predictable succession. “Jeepers criminey-” Steve gasped, lunging forwards.
You rolled your eyes, smiling just Loki glanced backwards. A wolfish grin ignited. Shit. With narrowed eyes, he began to glide around the Fiat like a day-walker. His hair was slicked back, falling over the shoulders of a black suit more appropriate to fashion week than training in the wilds of the Lake District. You’d tried not to look at him much on the way here. For obvious reasons. He swaggered with resolute precision, infuriatingly erotic as he always was. It was sick, how he looked so good. Like he hadn’t been in the same car as the rest of you, gorging on jelly babies and squished krispy kremes foraged along the motorway. You had practised for this moment, and to your credit; your face remained perfectly straight. Your posture, casual. Unbothered, as Steve and Thor argued further up the path.
‘My slacks were perfectly folded in New York. If there is any rumplage Odinson- then I’ll know who to blame.’
‘Carry your own damn suitcases, then-’ ‘-I would’ve, if you hadn’t been such a dandy-show-off’
You spun away from your incoming ex, steadying your racing heart as you focused on the horizon. Mist hung over the rusted treeline, green and sienna twisting together and dipping down to a sprawling lake about a mile away, you reckoned, spread against the sunrise. Loki’s playful scathing broke the calm. “You haven’t said two words to me in almost twelve hours, Agent,” he purred. “I’m impressed.” There was a time that kind of talk would have brought you to your knees. But not anymore, you lied to yourself, clenching. With your eyes still lowered, you tilted your chin towards him. Defiantly, slowly, you raised them; catching his inscrutable stare like a rifle’s scope. You raised your eyebrows expectantly, lips sealed. Loki scoffed, looking into the distance. His breath was fog. “I don’t know what else I expected,” he muttered quietly.
You stood in silence, backs turned to the domestic carnage unfolding at the cottage door. Letting your gaze roll over the mountains. Early morning autumnal air stung the back of your throat. Fresh pine and wisps of smoke from unseen chimneys, far away. Amber hues spindled along the surface of the lake a mile below, rippling methodically. You fought the urge to look at him.
His eyes would look beautiful in this kind of light. Always had. “It reminds me of home,” he murmured wistfully. It sank into the crisp air, the softness of the tone you still dreamt about curling around your body like smoke. Loki’s scent mingled with the breeze, reminding you of nights spent wrapped around him as you slept in snatches. His hand never far from your own. His love draped over you like a cloak.
A shiver ran down your spine.
You felt him lean in, the warmth of his breath against your skin drawing closer before it retreated. “Asgard,” he added condescendingly. “Although, Asgard isn’t quite as...rustic.” He lifted a foot, making a show of wiping a sole on the wet grass.
You grit your teeth. It never ended. He couldn’t help himself, even after everything that had happened between you. The snake tightened inside your belly, unfurling and poised to strike; regrettable words bubbling behind your teeth. “Let’s just get through this week, shall we?” Loki snapped, before turning away. The crunch of twigs beneath his retreating footsteps was all you heard as the chill stung your eyes. Just the chill.
Tumblr media
"I carry the paraphernalia so I shall be first across the threshold thank you very much,” Thor grumped, jostling Steve from his path and shuffling sideways through the frame. Steve grimaced, nodding at Loki to follow his brother. “Thank you,” Loki said curtly; noting the captain’s gaze flicker to where you stood overlooking the lake in a valiant attempt to remain mysterious. “She’s quite well,” he added presumptively.
Steve frowned. “She was quiet on the drive. Even let Thor play his music. Not like her” he said, leaning against the cottage wall before recoiling. “Urgh, it’s damp.” Loki chuckled. “Of course it is. Welcome to the northern hemisphere, Rogers. What you need, is some leather” he winked.
He watched the captain pat his shirt fruitlessly as a stain blossomed through the pale cotton, clearing his throat softly. “She’s still a little...put out... by our parting of ways. Can’t blame her, really. I mean-” He gestured to himself with a consillatory sigh. “She’ll warm up-”
Loki cast a glance around, realising he wasn’t sure if the hallway was colder than the exterior. “-metaphorically, anyway.”
Steve nodded sagely. “To everything there is a season…” he mused. Loki frowned, turning away. He waved a dismissive hand. “You know I do not traffic in colloquialisms, Rogers” he scoffed with his back turned. Entering the kitchen, Loki immediately bumped his shin on a discarded suitcase. He wrinkled his nose.
A single lightbulb hung from the ceiling, barely illuminating the cramped space. Ageing wallpaper clung valiantly to its charge, whimsical ducks and geese parading in an inexplicable march. Thor stood hunched over the sink, running spluttering water into the world’s smallest kettle. The ceiling was inches from his head. “Tea, brother?” he chirped. Loki nodded, wondering how the hell they’d ended up here. “Rogers?” he enquired innocently. Steve’s head popped round the doorframe.
“Howdy!” Loki closed his eyes and took a breath. “Rogers,” he repeated. “Remind me why this week is truly necessary?” Steve released a forced chuckle. “I’ll get to that. Hang tight.” He disappeared, shouting your name down the path. By the time the two of you returned, Loki had seidred the suitcases to their respective destinations. He had secured the largest room for himself, of course. Although that wasn’t saying much. Rogers and Thor would be sharing. Loki had the sneaking suspicion that was not the plan – but alas for them – it was their new reality.
Four mismatched mugs of steaming tea sat on the small square table in the corner. Loki sat in one chair, legs crossed. Thor in the other, looking decidedly squashed.
Steve closed the kitchen door while you leant against the counter-top, arms folded. “I made tea,” Thor smiled, pleased with himself as he held it forth like an offering. You accepted. Loki noted the shiver that shook your shoulders as the hot mug entered your cupped grasp. A fleeting smile of pleasure skating across your cheeks. He’d missed that, he found. “Please, take my s-” Loki started, beginning to rise. Habit. “I’ll stand,” you replied curtly. Loki nodded, sinking down. An uncomfortable silence filled the room as an oblivious Steve squinted suspiciously out the window while closing the blinds. “Alrighty then-” he said, turning. His enthusiastic glances bounced to each of them in turn. Thor adjusted himself, rewarded with the malevolent warning creak of a chair leg.
“As anyone who was listening during our meetings will know,” Steve paused, staring at Loki, “it’s come to my attention that our manual outdoor skills are somewhat lacking. Anything happens to our abilities or comms while we’re on a rugged mission and booyah,” he made a burst with his fingers, “pardon my french – but we’re up crud creek without a paddle.” Loki scoffed. “Hardly-” “This week we’ll be getting back to basics. You two-” Steve gestured between the gods seated at the withered dining set, “especially. It’s all magic and brawny shenanigans until you need to skin a rabbit.” He looked to you warily, “Metaphorically, of course. Our resident expert will give us instruction, and we’ll go from there-” Steve nodded to you, folding his arms. Loki rolled his eyes. “I don’t think you understand how magic-” “No weak links.” he continued, un-phased. He had his very serious face on. “And I count myself in this too. We need to be confident that if something happens, and we’re out in the wilds...we can handle ourselves. Survive, until help arrives.” “But why here?” Loki whined, “we have the facilities to simulate the environment back in-” Steve held up a hand. “No one can know earth’s mightiest heroes are out here learning outdoorsing 101, Laufeyson. Imagine the press. No.” He shook his head. “This is absurd,” Loki muttered into his tea.
“Let’s try and have fun. At the very least, it’s a week in the fresh air.” Loki’s eyes rose, your words and tone clearly rehearsed. There was a weak smile on your face, but it didn’t reach your eyes. He’d become intimately acquainted with that look in the final months of your relationship.
Silence hung in the kitchen. “And the two of you will be alright, will you?” Thor boomed, stretching a leg which reached halfway across the floor. He took a sip of tea as Steve’s face went pink.
“I mean, with the breakup. Although I suppose its better than being kept awake by the ooo’ing and ahhh’ing through the walls, isn’t it Rogers?” He began to chortle, “remember...remember in- where was it? Oh, Columbia. Norns, what a-”
“-Brother,” Loki snarled. Hair bristled on the back of his neck. You cleared your throat. “Loki and I have an understanding. There’s no animosity between us-” “Isn’t there? News to me,” Loki mumbled petulantly, running a finger across the plastic table cloth. He could almost hear the grind of your teeth as you spoke pointedly to Thor. “Well I intend on remaining professional. I’m sure your brother is the same.” Loki shook his head, snorting. “Professional?” he spat incredulously. “What need have I to be professional? I am a god.” “And there it is,” you began, temperature rising before Steve patted down the air.
“How about we go check out the bedrooms?” he said. Everyone murmured agreement. And somewhere between Loki cursing his temper, and the babble of his brother’s half-hearted apology- you were gone.
Tumblr media
Ten minutes later, Loki found himself staring at the same spot on the wall he had been for the last eight. It was meditative almost. On the other side of the wall at the end of his bed, was your room. Small, rectangular. Barely space for more than the single bed. But Loki had a feeling you didn’t mind.
You had settled on the mattress around seven minutes ago after unpacking, the comforting creak of springs alerting him. What were you doing, he wondered. Thinking. Feeling? He shook the thought from his mind, reminding himself that was no longer his business. But the thought crawled back with the vengeance of a dying wasp. If we were together still, I’d have made her climax twice on this bed by now.
His clothing hung in a drab single wardrobe. When in Nilfheim, he’d surmised. The garments were simple, and perfunctory. All manner of base layers and fleece lined items in vapid shades which lacked even a morsel of style. Not a sniff of leather. And zips in the most unflattering places.
Loki shuddered.
His ears pricked as he heard a wooden board in your room creak, tracking the slow amble of five steps it took to cross the floor from end to end. She’s looking out the window, he mused.
‘Get your hands off my undergarments,’ Thor’s voice was crisp and menacing through the wall to Loki’s left. ‘Well, put them in a drawer like a gentleman.’ Steve snipped in response, barely muffled by the stone. ‘There are no drawers! Why must we reside in such a place, Rogers!?’ He has a point, Loki thought. ‘Because no one would expect it.’ Steve replied smugly.
There was a pause, but Loki could hear the thump of Thor’s boots as he rounded the twin beds, positioning himself for attack. His voice was low, and purposeful. ‘Just like you won’t expect...this.’ The inhuman sound of one of his brother’s legendary farts ripped through the wall.
Loki braced in the silence that followed, relishing the craft of his devious room organisation while Steve, he presumed, got some traction to exit through the window. ‘Jeepers,’ came the choked, disbelieving response of the captain through the wall. Jeepers indeed, Rogers, Loki smirked.
A sudden tinkle of restrained laughter perked his ears. It came from behind the wall in front of him. He froze, savouring each lilting rise and fall as you gave in to full-blown cackle. Wait for it.
He held his breath. You snorted. Loki grinned, letting himself bathe in the warmth of that laughter which used to lace his brightest moments. The nights, when you met after long days apart. He remembered when he would tickle you beneath his sheets in the Tower. When he would slide his hands over your squealing, curled form in apology, crawl on his knees beneath the covers and gently part your legs.
‘I just can’t help myself,’ he’d purr, kissing the smooth skin of your inner thigh. ‘Forgive me?’
And you always did. Until you hadn’t. You would rake your hand through his hair, lovingly humming his name as he ran his tongue up your plump slit; settling in to his long, languid worship. Loki sighed. He looked down in his lap, realising a thumb was digging into the palm of his clasped hands. He pushed it in harder, frowning. Fool.
Suddenly the door flew open. A red-faced Steve gripped the door-frame, breathing heavily. “Swap...with...me,” he gasped. Loki shook his head, heavy with feigned sympathy. “Afraid not, Rogers. Look, I unpacked and everything.” He pointed to the wardrobe. “Like a gentleman.”
Steve’s face flushed deeper, hanging his head in resignation. “Gosh-darnit,” he sighed under his breath. “Be downstairs and ready in five.”
Tumblr media
A chorus of Blackcap birdsong fluttered and rolled over the bushes. Final frostings of morning clung to crisped leaves, slowly warming in the blast of breath-fog from three Avengers huddled around a large map. You watched with an amused smirk on your face, laughing inwardly that Steve thought a wardrobe full of Trepass could disguise their presence. Like three bears at a piglet’s tea party.
Thor held the compass, squinting. The rectangular instrument looked much like a stick of gum in his palm as he leant closer to the dial, searching for some unseen clue. You decided to have mercy.
“So you can see here,” you said gently, tracing your finger over the map, “to get to the lake we need to follow a bearing of 79 degrees….and we need to adjust for true North. Remember?” You moved the compass slightly. “Blast,” Thor growled. He was taking this very seriously. A bobble hat was pulled low on his brow, but even then, you could tell he was frowning. Loki chuckled derisively, smoothing a strand of inky hair from his jawline. You watched as it curled behind his ear. His beautiful, perfectly formed ear. “Volunteering for the next marker, Loki?” you asked calmly, watching his smug smirk fall. You switched back to Thor, now measuring points on the map diligently. Steve stood by his shoulder, taking notes on a small pad. “A-ha!” Thor shouted triumphantly. A dozen birds took off from the nearest tree, fleeing skyward.
Steve frowned. Stealth, it chided. The blonde god whipped his face to you in childish glee. “This way!” he pointed theatrically. You nodded, bathing in the pride spreading across the god of thunder’s face. It was Loki’s turn to frown. “Give me that,” he snipped, snatching the compass as Thor began to fold the map and lead the charge towards the next marker. “You’re just jealous brother. Clearly my skills of navigation are unmatched. Isn’t that so, Agent?” he postured loudly, clearing a branch from your path. It wasn’t often Thor truly had the upper hand. So you decided to push it a little higher. “Out of the three of you so far? Absolutely.” You beamed at him, seeing storm-clouds gather in Loki’s eyes out the corner of your own. His brows knitted together, chin pushing down into the thick roll of his scarf.
Thor hummed as you passed beneath his arm. “I always liked you, you know” he chuckled in hushed tones. Clearly, he’d seen the abject annoyance blossom on his brother’s face too.
You nodded conspiratorially, casting a glance back at your dejected ex as he picked his way over a patch of brambles, hands deep in his coat pockets. Steve followed behind, flicking through the pages of his pocketbook.
“Meh, it’s good for him,” you said diplomatically while shooting Thor a toothy grin.
He returned it.
Tumblr media
Loki took each step carefully. He would be damned if a tangle of barbed shrubbery bested him the same day as his oaf of a brother.
He wouldn’t have gotten it without her help, he fumed; stepping quickly over a freshly steaming pile of suspicious pellets. His nose wrinkled, glancing up to where the two of you were sharing a moment. Blatant favouritism.
Gritting his teeth, his jaw nuzzled further beneath the coiled wool around his throat. A smile lit up your face as you shared some sort of inside jest with his brother. Loki remembered, all too well, how you used to look at him that way. How it was to bathe in the warm of your affection, the comfort of your hallowed inner circle.
He tried not to let his mind wander to your inner circle too much. The immediate twitch of his cock beneath the ghastly slacks was a timely reminder why. Steve’s shrill caw of warning came too late. “Watch your-” Loki froze, snarling as his eyes fell to the foot now wedged in a pile of shit. “How appropriate,” he sighed as he reluctantly pulled it free. He began to wipe it on the ground. “Just wipe it on the ground,” Rogers said. Loki's stare was daggers as he continued to do just that, cursing the Norns as you began to walk towards them. “What’s the hold up?” you said. Loki raised a hand to stop Steve from speaking, but alas.
“Laufeyson stepped in poop.” “Thank you, Rogers. I’m sure our ‘resident expert’ can see that.” Steve crouched down to his haunches, inspecting the boot-imprinted pile. “Looks like deer poop to me,” he observed diligently. “What do you think, Agent?” “Could be,” you said, matching his serious tone. “Nice spot.” Loki felt his jaw slacken.
What portal has opened and swallowed me to this unending nightmare.
He wiped the defiled heel of his clumpy, tan boot a final time, before marching up the ridge. He should be first. He had the compass, the ultimate instrument of inter-planetary survival, apparently. “Broth-” he started, before rocking back on his heels. “What is your problem?” he heard you hiss as you yanked the back of his jacket. Loki whipped round, every snippy retort that hovered on his lips evaporating as he saw your flushed face; wild with undisguised irritation. Steve was bumbling slowly up the hill, oblivious. “I…” Loki breathed, resisting the unfamiliar urge to tell the truth. You were still gripping a toggle that dangled from the back of his jacket. Loki looked at it, pausing a moment before refocusing with renewed vigour.
“I shouldn’t have to do this. It’s ridiculous, and you know it.” “Well why are you even here? Why don’t you just bugger off at a moment’s notice like you always do? Go whine to Heimdall or something?” Loki heard white noise bubble deep in his mind, rising to a roar as his vision tunnelled to the sight of your pupils blown wide with anger; lip trembling ever so slightly as you valiantly stood your ground. There she is, he thought with bizarre satisfaction. “Because I wouldn’t want to give the impression I’m not a team-player, would I?” he snarled through gritted teeth. You released your grip on his toggle with a scoff. “I’ll believe that when I see it. If you can last the whole trip, I’ll-”
“-You’ll what?” Loki heard himself say. The tone, he noted, was dangerously flirtatious.
You eyed him suspiciously.
“-I’ll be am-azed. The prim prince of Asgard, hacking it for a week out here. It might be good for you.” You see-sawed your palm. “But you know...low expectations.” Loki’s eyes narrowed as Steve emerged hovering over your shoulder. He suddenly reminded Loki very much of the geese parading on the kitchen walls. “I assure you, Agent, I shall pass your tests with flying colours.” He forced a smile. It hurt his cheeks in the cold. A little bow followed. A little flourish of his hand. He paused, baiting you. “I look forward to you proving me wrong, then,” you sniffed, re-adjusting the straps of your backpack.
Your eyes caught his a little longer than you’d intended.
Loki’s gaze fell to your lips, beginning to chap in the unforgiving English chill. How he wanted to capture them with his in that moment, moisten them with his breath and tongue and fiery adoration. To warm you, take care of you. As he should have when he had the chance, perhaps.
At the time, Loki wasn’t sure why - but nonetheless he held out the compass to Steve. “You take this one, Rogers.” “Alrighty then!” the captain quipped obliviously. His knees pumped up in a farcical jog down the ridge towards Thor, having an in-depth conversation with a passing sheep.
“Alrighty then,” you mimicked to yourself with quiet smile. Meeting Loki’s amused gaze, the smile fell. And without another word, you set off down the hill.
The god watched you pick your way gracefully over the autumnal landscape, breeze whipping your hair. He brushed his own from his eyes, pausing to reluctantly admire the rugged peaks and cliffs that curled in on their path. Burnt orange mingled with green, a rolling wave of seasons trickling through the vale. He could feel it all around him; through him – seeping beneath his skin, whether he willed it or no.
Change.

Summary: You're stuck in the Avengers Compound because of an injury from your last mission, and you come across an adorable and affectionate little kitten.
Pairing: Loki x Reader
Word Count: 2.3k
Warnings: language (no i'm not sorry, Rogers); talks of explosions and injuries sustained from explosion [let me know if i missed anything!]
Things to be aware of: one-sided crushing (but is it really…?)
Tumblr media
An eerie silence served as your only company in the Avengers Compound the last few days, some of your teammates off to finish the HYDRA mission that left you injured while the others took time off to visit their families over the holidays. With the promise to keep their comms on in case they would be needed until the New Year.
Now all that remained in the Compound with you were a few junior agents that drew the ends of the short stick, Val, and Loki.
Sadly your teammate, friend, and occasional drinking buddy Val was out blissfully spreading holiday cheer throughout New York with her girlfriend.
And Loki? Well, the God of Mischief wasn't exactly on chummy terms with you. Didn't even so much as give you a passing glance when you were at mission briefings.
Which was a damn shame because what you would give just to get lost in those stormy ocean eyes.
You made your way to the pantry in the common room to replenish your stash of snacks, towing along a little wagon to help you on the way back. Every step had you feeling every square inch of bruising on the left side of your body that you got from being unlucky enough to be caught in the blast radius of an explosion at the HYDRA base you were trying to infiltrate with Shaun just a few days ago.
Your phone buzzed with a new message. "Speak of the devil," you muttered to yourself, seeing Xu's name on your screen as soon as you pulled up next to the elaborate barista setup, putting a few Lindor truffles in a small bag for your wagon. "Hey FRIDAY?"
"Yes, Agent Y/L/N?" the AI answered immediately.
"Could you make me a white chocolate mocha with peppermint while I raid the latest Costco delivery for uhh…supplies. Yeah, I'll go with that."
"Right away, Agent Y/L/N." The sound of the barista setup whirring to life filled the kitchen area as you checked on Shaun's message.
Thor just mentioned that he'll ask his brother to take a look at your injuries. Maybe get him to kiss it all better. He finished his text with a smirking emoji, along with some hand gestures that painted a less than family friendly picture, making you roll your eyes at the screen.
You recorded a voice memo for him. "You know that he'd need to actually be willing to look at me so that he could see the damage from the blast, right? And last I checked I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm Medusa reincarnated and I'll turn his Asgardian ass to stone."
You went on to the ridiculously stocked pantry to rummage the delivery that came just a few hours ago, trying to find a bag of Jalapeño Cheetos somewhere in the mix, when you heard a tiny meow from somewhere behind you. You looked to the ground to find a black and white munchkin cat looking up at you with wide blue eyes.
"Hi there, baby…" you cooed, surprised the adorable little creature hadn't hissed or scratched at you yet. Cats normally didn't take to you, which was a shame because you often found yourself fighting the urge to pick one up or stroke its head whenever you crossed paths with one during your errand runs. "How'd you get in here?"
The tiny kitten caught you by surprise with what it did next, walking up to your feet and proceeding to rub its cheek against your ankle, a little purr emanating from its small fluffy body. You decided to risk the hissing and scratching and bent down to pick it up, your heart melting once he placed his paws on your cheek and proceeded to nuzzle your face with his nose.
"Aren't you a complete darling." He settled into your arm as you carried him out of the pantry, a little whine escaping him when you placed him down on the counter. He stood on his hind legs and made grabby hands towards you, blue eyes wide and pleading for you to pick him back up. "Just a second, sweet baby, I'm just getting you something to drink."
You took out a tiny sauce dish and poured some cream into it, pushing it toward the kitten that responded with a slow blink and a meow before licking away at the rich liquid.
"I'm sure your owner's gonna crucify me for giving you that but I can't help spoiling little fur babies especially when they're as adorable as you are." You took a sip of the coffee FRIDAY had finished making before shouting out a question for her. "Hey FRIDAY, you have any clue who this little bub belongs to?"
It took a second for her to answer. "Negative, Agent Y/L/N. There is currently no other agent on the premises looking for their pet. I also see no collar on them and from a preliminary scan they do not seem to have a microchip on them."
Those words stopped the kitten from drinking to look up toward the ceiling and hiss at the source of the voice. He only relaxed once you started stroking his fur again, going back to drinking and letting out a few purrs along the way. "No owner, huh? Does that mean I can invoke Finders Keepers then?"
"It appears so, Agent Y/L/N. What would be your new companion's name?"
The kitten looked up at you, as if expecting your answer. You wondered briefly if he could actually understand what it was that you and FRIDAY were talking about. "How about Onyx? I know I know it's absolute garbage for originality to name a black cat after a black gemstone but--"
His eyes widened before he climbed up your arm, only stopping once he'd reached your shoulder to nuzzle at your neck again. "It seems he likes the name, Agent Y/L/N."
"Then it's settled." You placed a soft kiss on top of his head. "Hello there, Onyx."
You brought your new kitten back to your apartment, setting him down on your bed while you tried to take off your sweatshirt as gently as you could manage.
"Ah, fuck it," you hissed as you felt the bruising around your ribs, letting out a pained sound when you opted to whip the garment over your head as fast as you could instead. Your reflection revealed that the bruising on the left side of your torso was quickly becoming a frightening deep purple.
Onyx meowed from your bed, again standing on his back legs and making grabby hands at you, eyes wide with evident pain.
"What's wrong, little baby?" He placed his paws gently on your side when you made your way to him, pressing his nose to the skin near where your bruising began. "Oh don't you worry your pretty little head about those, sweetie. They'll heal…eventually."
He kept on pressing his face to the area, your heart melting for the tiny kitten even more realizing that he was pressing kisses to your wounds.
"You really are such a precious little bub, aren't you?" You picked your new kitten up, placing him on the armchair in your reading nook before setting an alarm for dinner in a few hours and settling into your bed. "Get some sleep, sweet baby Onyx. I'll see you in a few hours."
Your eyes had only closed for a few seconds before you heard another tiny meow followed by a soft thud, immediately making you sit up on the bed looking for the kitten. He'd already made his way to your bedside, standing on his back legs and reaching up trying to climb up the sheets.
"Alrighty then," you mumbled, picking him up and placing him on the pillow beside yours. You rolled over to lay on your right side to remove any pressure to your injuries the best you could, hovering your finger near Onyx's nose once you'd settled in. He leaned up and pressed his nose to your finger, paws kneading on his pillow. "Boop," you giggled. "Sweet dreams, baby."
Just as you'd closed your eyes to try catching an hour or two of rest before you had to eat again and take those pain meds that Banner prescribed you, your phone began to blare Immigrant Song way too loudly by your nightstand. There were only two contacts you gave that ringtone to and one of them was currently out with her girlfriend.
"Talk to me, Thunder," you muttered, groaning when your stretch to reach for your phone made your bruising smart a bit. "You all good over there?"
"Absolutely grand, Lady Y/N," the blond god's voice boomed from the other end. "I was just wondering if you could check on my brother, he refuses to answer his phone yet again."
"That's gonna be a hard pass from me, buddy. I've already been cut and bruised, I'm not too keen to add stabbed to that list. He's probably just practicing spells. Or out on a date." You winced at that last part, an irrational part of you flaring up with unwarranted jealousy at the thought of Loki out with just about anyone. "Just--I don't know, check up on him yourself when you get back. You can take a stab better than me anyways."
Thor sighed loudly, the low rumbling making Onyx step back from his pillow and start hissing at the phone. You stroked the top of his head to calm him down. "Very well then, Lady Y/N. Rest well. We're scheduled to return after nightfall."
"I'll have pizza here waiting for you guys. Bring your own mead." You clicked off and tried to get some sleep, having FRIDAY place an order for pizzas and wings for when the team gets back. Your new kitten padded his way over to you, resting his head on your outstretched arm and letting out a soft purr.
Tumblr media
The sound of the Quinjet coming back roused you from your nap, along with the feel of little paws on your arm and Onyx nuzzling your cheek.
"Looks like everyone's home," you mumbled, pressing a few kisses to the kitten's head before making your way out of bed. "Come on, little baby. Time to meet the team."
With a whole lot of discomfort and groaning, you slipped your sweatshirt back on before presenting your hand to Onyx and patting your shoulder, prompting the kitten to climb up your arm and perch himself on the spot, nuzzling his face behind your ear.
The team had already arrived and filled the common area when you made your way there, some of them helping themselves to the pizza. Barnes and Wilson walked in with coolers, probably filled with chilled bottles of beer inside.
"Hey, there she is!" Shaun exclaimed, pulling out a bottle of Pepsi before making his way over to you and pulling you into an embrace. "How's the healing go--Whoa there." He took a step back as Onyx hissed in his direction. "Where'd you come from, little guy?"
You shh'd the kitten, pressing kisses to his little cheek to calm him down. "It's okay, baby, Shaun is a friend. One of the good guys." You turned back to your mission partner. "Shaun, this is Onyx."
"Always thought you were a dog person, Babes," Natasha spoke up before taking your arm and walking you to the food. "We leave for one day and you become a cat lady. Where'd you even find the time to go to a shelter and get baby blue eyes over here?"
"I didn't, actually," you answered the master assassin. "I just went to the pantry and poof there he was, meowing at my feet. Like the cat distribution system mailed him to me by magic or something." He nuzzled your cheek again before starting to knead at your face.
"And he doesn't belong to anyone? You're sure?" Shaun spoke up, backing up immediately when he tried to pet your new kitten and getting hissed at. "Easy, kitty. I'm a friend, I'm not gonna hurt you." The martial artist turned back to you. "He wasn't collared? Or chipped?"
"Nope. FRIDAY scanned him and everything."
"You wanna think about getting him chipped?"
Onyx hissed again at the question before swishing his tail around to curtain your hair around him, his little body shaking on your shoulder. As if he was silently pleading for you to not take him out to have him chipped.
"Don't you worry, baby. I won't get you chipped, I wouldn't hurt you like that," you cooed, letting out a little giggle as he placed his paws on your cheeks and nuzzled your nose, giving the tip tiny licks. You were so focused on your cat's affections that the bellowing of Thor looking for his brother was a distant muffled noise in the background.
Until he got to where you were standing and his booming voice was impossible to ignore. "What an adorable little beast you have, with you, Lady Y/N." Onyx buried himself in the crook of your neck, shaking at the sound of Thor's voice.
"It's alright, Onyx. It's just Thunder, he may be all big and menacing on the outside but he's just a fluff ball on the inside. Come on, go say hi."
The blond Asgardian approached you, examining your new pet carefully before a knowing grin graced his bearded face. "Hello, Brother."
A chill went down your spine at his words. "What the fuck d'you just say, Blondie?"
He motioned toward the kitten on your shoulder. "This is the explanation for his lack of replies on his phone. His absence from his quarters. Lady Y/N, the little beast hiding himself in your hair…is my brother. That is Loki."
In your stupor, the only words you could manage to say were, "Bitch what?!"

You smiled to yourself, carefully adding the last piece of tape to Bucky's gift, tying a perfect bow around the wrapped box before hiding it in the closet. Bucky was due to come back soon and while you missed him like crazy, his absence made it easier for you to get his surprise together. Over the last few weeks, you'd felt more tired than usual along with feeling tender and crampy. One trip to the pharmacy, a pregnancy test and a positive result later, you'd bought a custom onesie with Baby Barnes Jr #4 printed on the front.
You hoped Bucky would enjoy the surprise you were growing in your belly, especially considering how often he kept insisting he wanted just one more, adding to your growing family with Steve Jr who had just turned 5 and your 3 year old twins Samantha and Nathaniel. You hid the present under the bed before going to the playroom to tuck your littles ones into bed, the three of them unusually quiet compared to their usual mischief.
"C'mon munchkins" You smiled at the sight before you with Stevie sprawled on a large bean bag, his brother and sister on tucked on either side, their big brother reading to them while they intently looked at the pictures. "Bed time for you babies"
"Will daddy be home soon?" Samantha asked with a pout, a complete daddy's girl just like you, tucking her face into your neck as you scooped her up along with Nathaniel while Steve followed promptly behind.
"Of course bub, he'll be here first thing in the morning" You assured her, kissing her forehead before tucking her into bed followed by the other little one. "Good night loves" You turned off the lights before going back to your room where you knew Stevie was waiting with his favorite book, ready for a bedtime story. It was a special bonding time you always made sure to have with him, not wanting you first baby boy to feel like he was no longer one of your favorites after the twins were born.
"What did you pick tonight baby" You got under the covers, fluffing the pillows and propping them up while Stevie snuggled up beside you, plopping a book about science onto your lap. You chuckled at the nerdy side he'd gotten from his dad, reading through scientific discoveries that were made in the last century and theories that were still being tested. He listened with wide eyes until they grew heavy, eventually falling asleep on your lap, not having the slightest clue you'd carried him to bed and tucked him in with a kiss to his cheek. "Sleep tight my sweet boy"
You slipped back under the covers, grabbing a book for yourself while occasionally running your hands over your belly, soaking in the quiet night before the team arrived after their latest mission.
It wasn't often that the compound was empty; few missions required all hands on deck but this was one of them. You'd received a message from FRIDAY informing you the jet would be landing in a few hours and that no medical assistance would be required because no one had sustained major injures. It was the sole reason you were able to relax so easily, happy waiting for your husbands arrival so you could tell him the good news.
You settled comfortably under the covers until a faint sound from the common room pulled you from your book again. FRIDAY would have alerted you if the jet was approaching and you would've definitely heard the sound of the engine approaching anyway.
But was still eerily quiet.
Then you heard something again.
You were sure it was nothing but you pressed the button under the bedside table that locked and secured the rooms of the little ones just to be safe. Tony had added additional security for their rooms in case of emergencies, with 4 different operating systems working at once. Absolutely nothing would happen to his godchildren under his roof.
It was probably nothing.
Still.
You grabbed the knife you kept hidden behind the headboard, tucking in under the waistband of you sleep shorts before making your way down, reprimanding yourself for being paranoid over what was probably just sounds of the plumbing and vents creaking in the middle of the night.
The halls were clear, easing some of your nerves as you continued to the common room where you heard the sound. The hairs on your neck stood up when you saw the glow of the kitchen light turned on, grabbing your knife, only to find one of the new agents sitting at the kitchen island, sipping on a coffee.
"Annabeth?" Your brows were knitted together, discreetly slipping the knife away, wondering how she'd gotten into the main floor of the compound when it was restricted to others after a certain time.
"Hey y/n" She gave you a sleepy smile while you watched her warily, "Couldn't sleep. Hope you don't mind, just wanted to grab a mug before heading back to trainee wing"
"Yeah, its fine" You spoke slowly, something still not sitting right with you though you didn't show it.
"How come you're still up, waiting for Sergeant Barnes?" There was something sinister in the sweetness of her voice, cocking her head while you hummed in response, stomach churning. "You're both so cute together you know. It's nice to see how his life has come together after all he's been through as the asset"
"Excuse me?" Your eyes grew wide, heart hammering against your chest, it was rare for anyone to refer to Bucky as the asset. Most referred to him as the winter soldier, even soldat, only those deep in Hdyra had called him-
"We want our asset back" She whispered, cracking a smirk and nodding to someone behind you. Before you could turn around, a large form grasped your body, slamming a hand over your mouth muffling your screams. You didn't have any time to react, feeling a pinch to your neck and slipping into darkness immediately after.
-
Bucky stretched with a sleepy yawn as the jet began its descent, already waiting at the doors and ready to hop out and see his wife and babies. He smiled at the thought of them all safely tucked into bed, sleeping soundly while you probably tried to stay up with a book. He always found you dozed off, book loosely falling from your hand, still propped up against the bed every time you waited for him. Didn't matter not how many times he told you to just go to bed. You always stayed up till you saw he was safe and sound.
Sam helped Bucky put away his equipment so he could get to you faster, everyone smiling watching the soldier dash off, running to his family.
"It's nice to see him like this" Nat nodded, trudging with the rest as they entered the compound, nothing amiss while they went to the conference room.
"He deserves it" Steve smiled, happy his best friend finally had what he'd always dreamt of. A wife. Kids. A safe home for them.
Bucky made his way over to see his little ones first, stopping in front of the heavily decorated door, covered with Captain America and Iron Man posters, courtesy of the two Godfathers competing for #1. Bucky smiled, turning the knob, only to find it locked shut, which was odd considering the only way to lock the door was if the security system had been activated.
He shook his head, frowning as he made his way to your shared bedroom instead, figuring it was a glitch or mistake. He got a sinking feeling in his stomach seeing the door open ajar, with the lamp turned on, your book set aside but you were nowhere to be seen.
"Baby?" Bucky called out, struggling to keep his panic at bay when the bathroom was empty, as was the closet. "Sweetheart?"
He called down the hall way a little louder before jogging to the kitchen but there had been no sign of you there when he'd entered. He started to move quicker, running back to disable to security system, breathing a sigh of relief to find all three little ones still sleeping soundly. He softly shut the door before immediately going to the conference room.
"Y/n, has anyone seen her?" He hoped to see you sitting with the others but he was filled with dread when the others shook their head in confusion. "She's-she's not in her room. I've checked everywhere, the security system was activated for the kids' room, she wouldn't leave the compound around this hour, somethings wrong"
No one asked questions, immediately jumping into action; Tony starts to comb through security from the time they left while Nat double checks every floor and room, just to be safe. Steve and Sam help Bucky look over your bedroom for any signs of a struggle. He ran his hand along the areas they'd hidden weapons, his stomach dropping when he felt the empty space behind the headboard.
"She took the knife" Bucky swallowed thickly while Sam and Steve shared concerned glances.
"Look, she's strong Buck, whatever it is, we'll find her" Steve insisted while Bucky continued to look, checking under the bed where he'd kept a pistol, nothing out of the ordinary except-
He frowned, seeing a little gift bag hidden underneath, newly packed with a gold bow placed on top. He picked it up, brows knitted together as he pulled away the tissue paper, feeling soft material tucked at the bottom of the bag. He took it out, heart splitting into two at the words written on the little onesie,
"Fuck!" A broken sob pulled Sam and Steve from their search, finding Bucky slumped by the edge of the bed.
"Buck?" they shared concerned glances seeing him holding something small in his hands, clutching it tightly to his chest.
"She's-she's pregnant" Bucky whispered, tears welling in his eyes holding the tiny jumpsuit in his hands, his heart couldn't take it-
"Barnes, we have something!" Tony's voice echoed through the coms, the three men running back to the conference room where Tony had pulled the footage from you in the kitchen. Bucky watched in silence, jaw clenched seeing the new agent use a stolen keycard to sneak into the compound with a Hydra agent, the two of them quietly waiting for you to come down.
He had to keep from smashing the TV, watching the man grab you from behind, injecting you with something before carelessly carrying you off like ragdoll, his heart aching, wishing he'd gotten home sooner. All voices around him drowned out to a faint buzz, the sounds of Tony and Steve giving out commands all muffled as if they were underwater.
"We have the coordinates locked, everyone down down to the jet, remember your positions.
It was like a switch was flipped.
"Cap and I clear the entry ways, Nat, Clint, follow behind, Sam, surveillance from the top. Barnes, you just have to get y/n"
The former young husband and father who sat with tears streaming down his cheeks was replaced with a man who knew no remorse. No guilt. No sense of right or wrong.
"Barnes"
Steve knew of this man well.
"Barnes?"
The one they called the Winter Soldier.
-
"Baby" Bucky whispered, scooping his sleepy eldest son in his arms before striding over to the twins bed, tucking them in together. "Daddy's gotta go another mission but we'll be back soon, alright?"
Steve could sense something was wrong, the strain in his fathers voice making him worry.
"Again?" He asked while Samantha and Nathaniel stirred slightly, trying to tuck themselves into their daddy's warmth. "Where's mama?" He asked with a tiny whisper having heard the commotion outside of the room, his hearing enhancing more and more each day. Bucky swallowed thickly while Steve stepped into the room to check on his best friend, his heart breaking over the three little ones clinging onto him.
"We're going to get her, promise bub" Buck kissed their heads, grabbing their favorite stuffies to cuddle with.
"Let me see my favorite little soldiers" Steve strode over, giving them a brave smile. "We'll be back before you know it"
"Will mama be okay?" Nathanial whispered, grabbing onto Steve's wrist before he could leave, tears streaming down his little chubby cheek.
"Of course" Steve reassured him, kissing his forehead and tucking him back into bed, "We'll never let anything happen to your mama"
That was a promise.
-
"Oh fuck" Clint snorted to himself watching the black mask that had been locked away for good slip over Bucky's face, his usual leather jacket replaced with a thick black tactical vest, straps running across his chest.
"They're fucked, aren't they" Sam whispered to Tony as he put his suit on, the glancing over to the stone cold brunette who sat in silence, finger resting on the trigger. Like he doesn't actually need us"
"We're really just going for moral support, also no one hurts our y/n" Tony whispered back. The teams full focus was getting you back along with keeping your babies safe; Pepper had come to look after the littles ones till you were found safe and sound. While the team was fully ready to take apart anyone that tried to hurt you. It was more that evident Bucky wouldn't have a problem taking hydra apart by himself but they wouldn't let him go alone.
Bucky didn't speak a word as soon as the jet hit the ground hitting his targets from 100's of feet away, each bullet landing right between their eyes.
"...Did you know he could do that?" Sam called from the coms, watching agents drop while he flew across the top of the base. Tony blasted the front of the doors while Steve cleared the hall way, throwing his shield, knocking down three men that guarded the wing.
"Looks like she's down in the cells" Sam called, looking at where the heat signals were coming from. Bucky made his way down the sterile hallway, red lights suddenly flashing above when a woman charged towards him.
"Welcome back soldat" Annabeth sauntered, blocking the doors to where you were being held with a satisfied smirk on her face. "We knew you'd come back. We missed you-
"Oh, I'm gonna have fun with this" Nat smirked, stepping in front of Bucky and grabbing Annabeth by her hair, dragging her off to a corner before throwing a punch to her jaw.
Bucky continued, slamming the lab doors open, his eyes landing onto your tied up form, strapped onto the very same chair he'd been tied to every time he'd been wiped. He didn't give anyone a second to think, killing those closest to him while the others tried to escape.
"You wanted me back, didn't you" Bucky's voice was a low growl as he stepped over the bodies he shot down before running to save you. "Well, I'm back"
The ones that ran off didn't get too far, making it out of the lab, only to be met with a very angry Steve and Tony.
"You don't hurt my fucking bestfriend" Steve gritted, slamming the agent to the floor before grabbing another and throwing him to Tony.
"You are not taking away my turn at being a God father" Sam grabbed another that tried to hide behind the rubble, swooped up to the ceiling, dangling to agent in the air for a while before letting him drop. Bucky was by your side in an instant, cutting off the straps that bound your arms together.
"Baby?" Bucky scooped you up in his arms, cradling your body to his chest, his hand gently brushing your cheek. "You okay sweetheart?"
"Bucky!" You cried out, clinging onto him, trembling while he kissed you before protectively covering your face from the bloody trail he left behind him. "You're here"
"M'taking you home baby, c'mon" Bucky whispered against your hair, carrying you tucked against him with your legs wrapped tightly around his waist, breathing in his scent. "I got you babygirl, it's okay"
"I was so scared" Bucky held onto you tightly on the ride back, he had never felt relief like this, his heart finally calming down. "M'so sorry sweet girl"
"S'not your fault baby" you whispered back, smiling when you felt a kiss to the back of your head.
"Glad you're okay sweetheart" Steve gave you a squeeze before leaving you and Bucky to have your privacy again, staying near the front with the rest of the team, watching over Annabeth, who had been captured for questioning. Once you'd reached the compound, you were greeted with proper hugs and kisses from the others, hearing the pitter patter of little feel seconds later.
"MAMAA" Your babies ran to you, climbing up your leg until they were all properly snuggled against you, refusing to let go until they were sure you were perfectly safe.
"Daddy and your aunts and uncles rescued me, see? I'm all okay" You reassured them while they looked at you intently, checking over you the same way you did whenever they had a fall. Once they were satisfied that you were okay, they let their daddy take you away to get cleaned up while it was Tony's turn to read them a bedtime story even if it was nearing morning.
-
"Right where you belong" Bucky smiled, wrapping his arm around your waist after you'd both showered, foregoing clothes as you climbed into bed, snuggled over the covers. He spooned you from behind, the feel of his warm bare skin comforting you.
"I love you so much angel" He pressed a soft kiss against your shoulder, eyes brightening when he remembered the little present he'd found earlier. His hand slipped down to softly brush over your tummy. "Both of you" He playfully whispered, smiling at your soft gasp as you wiggled to turn around and face him, growing bashfully shy when he pulled the tiny jumpsuit he'd kept on his pillow.
"Was there something you wanted to tell me mama?"
"Think you're ready for a 4th?" You giggled, burying your face into his chest while he grinned, peppering your face with kisses till you squealed.
"M'ready for a 5th and 6th if you'd let me angel" Bucky smirked, playfully nipping your jaw before shuffling down to rest his head on your tummy, kissing your soft skin while you carded your fingers through his hair. "but I can't wait to meet this little one first"

Okay, so, I really have no excuses for this one. It's borderline crackfic but I did my best lol
Tumblr media
"Nicholas!"
"Odin!"
You stand shoulder to shoulder with your brother as you watch your father embrace the Allfather. For as long as you can remember, this has been your family's Christmas tradition. After your father finishes delivering gifts all across the nine realms on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day is spent on Asgard with the royal family. You aren't sure why it's a tradition- the elves say it's because Odin was the one to gift your father his powers, to create Santa Claus as the worlds know him- but you've learned over the years it's best not to argue about it.
(There was one year you wanted to spend Christmas at home in the North Pole like a normal family... and your mom fainted from the shock. The elves wouldn't talk to you for a month (which wasn't all that disappointing if you were to be honest). So you considered that lesson learned and never brought it up ever again.)
You watch as your mother greets Frigga next, the two of them looking like the epitome of the Mother archetype. Frigga with her regal air and your mother with her kind smile. You can't imagine ever having to step into their roles and you feel relieved you'll never have to. Your brother is set to be the next Santa and his wife will be Mrs. Claus. Odin's throne will go to Thor and his wife we'll be Queen of Asgard.
All you have to be is yourself.
Free to make your own rules.
To forge your own path.
To-
"Hello, little one." Loki smiles at you fondly and steps towards you. His hands are bound in front of him and the chains draped over his body rattle with each movement.
You tilt your head, observing him closely. "Loki. I knew you were on my dad's Naughty list for the whole New York thing, so I guess it makes sense you ended up on Odin's list too."
His smile morphs into a nasty sneer as he bares his teeth at you. A guard yanks on the chain around his neck, pulling him an appropriate distance from you.
"Must we do this today," Frigga whispers to her husband. "It's the last day of Yule. Let Loki have an hour of freedom."
"And what will that hour cost us," Odin counters.
Your father raises his hand. "If I may? The kids have been working on their magic and sugar plum over here has a real talent for it. I'm sure she could keep Loki in line for an hour."
Loki's eyes burn a hole into the side of your skull as he says, "Yes. The Santa baby can watch me."
"For an hour," you add, turning to your dad. You point a finger at the jolly old man. "And only an hour."
Odin strokes his beard thoughtfully, considering every possible outcome of letting Loki free for a bit. Eventually, he bangs his staff against the shimmering golden floor and Loki's chains fall away. Loki, for his part, makes an effort not to appear too eager. He rubs his wrists and rolls his neck before squaring his shoulders and turning to you.
"I'm at your mercy for the next hour, sugar plum."
And the way he says it so seductively has you reaching the realization that maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all.
You fidget uncomfortably, balling the ends of your long sleeves in your hands. Loki watches your twitchy movements silently. That's how he's always watched you. Ever since that first meeting when you were nothing more than a child coming to terms with her father being the Santa Claus. He's always watched you silently, thoughtfully, like he's waiting for you to decide who you'll be... and maybe, just maybe, if there will be a place for him beside you when you do decide who to be.
"I'm already regretting this," you say out loud to no one really.
No one is paying attention anymore anyway.
No one except Loki who places a hand at the small of your back and gestures in front of you with the other. "Come, we both know you're foaming at the mouth to get to the garden."
You can't help the eyeroll his words induce. "How eloquent."
"Thank you."
"I wasn't complimenting you."
Loki purses his lips, fighting back a grin. "No, you would never do that, would you?"
"Just shut up and follow me."
He pretends to zip his mouth shut and throw away the key, earning an aggravated groan from you.
If you were to be honest, you don't find Loki's presence all that objectionable. Sure, his ego is out of hand, he tried to take over your home planet, he can be a real pain in the ass, sassy, confrontational, a know it all... wait, what was your point again? Oh, right! Loki has many, many, many faults, but he's always been kind to you. Deep down you know his affection for you doesn't truly account for the monstrosities he's committed, but it does make him ten percent less Naughty in your eyes.
"When will you tell Jolly Old Saint Nicholas that I've been the one helping you with your magic, sugar plum."
Okay. Five percent less Naughty.
"Never," you say without looking at him. Instead you fix your eyes on the garden up ahead.
He clicks his tongue. "How absolutely Naughty of you. I approve."
Two percent.
"I don't need your approval. And stop calling me sugar plum!"
Loki stops walking abruptly, forcing you to turn around and meet him face to face. Or face to chest rather. He's taller than you by several inches and his broad figure almost blocks out the steadily rising sun. Hues of pink, orange, and purple burst from behind him in pastel streaks of color. The wind is soft and gentle as it wraps around the two of you, pressing your bodies ever closer. If you could paint you think you would paint him just as he is now, all soft edges and gentle eyes.
He shakes his head. "You don't need it, but you want it. You crave it, don't you, my darling?"
You think you prefer him calling you sugar plum. That feels far less intimate than hearing the words my darling come out of his mouth.
"I don't want anything from you," you say full of false bravado.
"Oh?" Loki pulls you in to his body and tilts your chin up with his thumb and forefinger. "Not even my cock? I think if I were to bend you over this balcony and fuck that tight little cunt of yours, you'd thank me by the end of it. Wouldn't you, sugar plum?"
You swallow the lump in your throat and will away the rising heat in the pit of your stomach. "I said stop calling me that, Loki."
"Then what would you prefer, hmm?" His lips are centimeters from yours, teasing you by brushing against you ever so lightly as he speaks. "You positively lit up when I called you my darling. How does my queen sound? Better yet, how about my whore?"
"Stop."
"Did you make it to the Nice list this year? No sneaking around and kissing boys behind my back?"
You grit your teeth, embarrassment washing over you with the realization that you actually enjoy having him talk to you like this. "Stop. I know what you're trying to do."
"And what would that be?"
"You want me to give up on you like everyone else. There's a past between us whether we like it or not and you want me to just... forget it. Let it go. Everyone else already believes you're a monster and you can't stand that there's one person in the world who still believes you can be good."
Silence stretches out between the two of you like a snake sunbathing on a rock. It's an almost tangible sensation. All you can hear is the air rushing through your lungs as Loki's chest rises and falls at an alarming rate.
"Is this the part where we hug and I thank you for always believing in me? Because... no, I don't think I'll do that," Loki finally says after a few painful seconds.
You huff in frustration, spinning on your heel to go back inside and forget the whole deal. You'll lock yourself in a guest room with some delicious Asgardian mead and that'll be that. This whole sexual tension thing with a man you shouldn't want in the first place will disappear along with the alcohol.
Before you can take a step forward and put you're new Christmas Day plan into motion, Loki grabs you by the arm and pulls you back. His chest presses into your back, a warm and solid wall of muscle.
"Where do you think you're running off to, sugar plum?" He bends down and whispers the words in your ear, his lips ghosting over your skin and leaving goosebumps all over your body.
"Your hour's up."
"I've still got forty five minutes."
"Yeah, well... I'm finished with this."
Loki slips an arm around your waist, grinding his hardened length into your ass. "You're through when I say you're through, and right now I want you down on your knees worshipping."
"But... we're outside..."
The protest dies on your lips as green sparks emanate from Loki's fingertips, circling the two of you before sinking back into his palm.
"There," he says simply. "Problem solved. Now if anyone were to walk by they would simply see us admiring the flowers. Now, on your knees."
You let him push you down on your knees, his long fingers curling in your hair. Through the tight leather of his trousers you can make out the imprint of his cock. You won't be able to take all of him in your mouth. There's just no way. You're willing to try though, you think to yourself as you look up into the familiar green-blue of his eyes.
He helps you undo his pants, picking up the slack when your nervous fingers tremble while untying the laces. He's eerily patient and allows you to take your time. Build your courage as it were. You want this. You know you do. You're just... nervous.
The realization strikes Loki suddenly. "You're a virgin?"
The accusation- however true- doesn't sit right in your chest. "Do you want me to do this or not?"
Loki's eyes shine bright with absolute glee. "You are!"
"Loki-"
The world swirls and warps around you, the oxygen leaving your lungs in a sudden woosh. You suddenly find yourself in your usual guest chambers. Still on your knees. Still out of breath.
"Much better!" Loki sighs happily before making himself comfortable on the large bed. "Actually, one more thing."
A fire roars to life in the hearth and the bright gold decorations littering the room turn a deep shade of emerald.
"Lest you forget who you're with," he explains simply.
"I couldn't if I tried." You look at Loki out of the corner of your eye as he lounges on the bed. His pants are undone, exposing the deep V of his pelvic muscles and a light dusting of hair. He looks at you so intently you feel like you might explode. "What?"
Loki motions for you to come closer. "I want you to come on my face, sugar plum."
You swear your body just gives out as soon as you hear the words. "W-what?"
He growls and sits straight up. "You are going to walk that pretty little arse over here, and then your are going to straddle my face, so I can lick your cunt until you come."
It takes everything in you to do exactly as he says. You aren't completely inexperienced and you aren't a complete idiot either. You know what the fire in your belly and the slickness between your thighs means. You want Loki, wanted him for years. Never in your wildest dreams did you think he actually wanted you too.
It's a Christmas miracle in your opinion.
When you make it to the edge of the bed Loki tuts at you, toying with the hem of your dress. "I meant to comment earlier, but this is the most horrid thing I've ever seen."
Your brow furrows. "Hey! Sprinkle made this for me!"
"Sprinkle." The way Loki says the elf's name almost sounds like a curse.
"You've met him before. Back a few- oof!"
Loki rips the dress to tatters in the blink of an eye. You want to hit him, curse him, something, but he moves too quickly. Instead you make a mental note to apologize to Sprinkle when you get home, and let Loki manipulate your body so that your kneeling over his face. His breath on your core sends a shiver through your body.
"Loki," you whine, gripping at his hair.
"Good girl," he moans out as you tug on the long, dark strands. "Let's see if you taste as sweet as you look."
His tongue laves at your folds, teasing you. It's strange but nice and exhilarating all at once. Your hips buck involuntarily when he finally slips his tongue inside you and he sighs happily against your skin.
"Fuck, yes," Loki groans.
You whimper pathetically.
"I need inside you. Now," he says against your soaked cunt. "I need you, darling."
All you can do is nod. Your bones feel like jelly, but you want more. You want him. You want him inside you. You want him to come inside you. You want it so badly you can almost imagine a future filled with children who have your hair and his eyes.
When he looks up at you there's a split second where you think he sees that future too.
Loki ends the moment quickly though, telling you to get on your back. He positions his cock at your entrance and you have a momentary lapse in confidence. You don't want him to stop, but he's bigger than you could've guessed, and-
"Relax." Loki presses his mouth to yours, nipping at your bottom lip. "You were made to take this cock."
You nod and angle your hips up so his tip slips inside you. Your unused muscles twitch against the intrusion, making Loki hiss out something in Old Norse. One of his hands wraps around your throat while the other pins your hips against the bed. Using this leverage he pushes his entire length inside you, swallowing your screams with his lips. Loki pumps in and out of you slowly, watching your face for signs of discomfort.
"M-more," you sigh. "Harder... more... please..."
His breath hitches. "Are you sure, my darling?"
"Yes!"
"Very well." Loki's hips snap, shoving himself even deeper inside you.
Your hands fly to grip his biceps. His skin is colder. Colder than you've ever felt it. And there's a slight blue tinge.
"Loki, fuck... oh my god..."
His hand not wrapped around your throat slaps across your cheek. "My king. Say it. Say I'm your king."
You manage a tiny nod. "You're... you're my king..."
Loki's grip tightens and his pace quickens. You can feel his thick cock sliding in and out of you, stretching you around him, forcing his way deep inside you.
"L-Loki..." You let out a short whine. "Come inside me. Please. I need it. Please, please..."
He chuckles darkly. "How pathetic. You're begging like a common whore. Is that what you are, darling? Are you my whore?"
"Y-yes."
"Yes what?"
"Yes, my king."
Loki, seemingly satisfied by your answer, lifts your leg over his shoulder and shoves his way deeper inside you. There's a painful burn as you adjust to the new angle and pace, but the look of ecstasy on Loki's face is enough to send you over the edge again. You come on his cock once more, but this time he comes with you, filling you until it leaks out.
You aren't sure when you closed your eyes, but when you open them Loki is looking at you with a strange expression.
"My hour is up," is all he says.

On one of Tony's team bonding parties...
Jukebox: *starts to play 'Single Ladies' by Beyoncè*
Wanda: *squealing* That's our song, girls! Let's go! *storms onto dancefloor*
Y/N and Natasha: *joining Wanda*
Jukebox: All the single ladies!
Wanda, singing: All the single ladies!
Jukebox: All the single ladies!
Natasha, singing: All the single ladies!
Jukebox: All the single ladies!
Y/N, singing: All the single ladies!
Wanda, Natasha and Y/N together: All the single ladies!
Jukebox: Now put your hands up!
Y/N, Nat and Wanda: *throwing their hands in the air, dancing*
*music suddenly stops*
Y/N, Nat and Wanda: *looking confused and slightly pissed over to the jukebox, to see who stole their music*
Loki: *standing beside the jukebox, hands on his hips*
Loki, visibly offended: What in all the nine realms are you doing, Y/N?! Put your hands down!
Y/N, confused and a bit angry: Why, Lokes?! What's your problem? Put the song back on!
Loki, shaking his head vehemently: Absolutely not! Did you forget that I am your boyfriend?!
Y/N: *frowns* It's just a song!
Loki: *crosses arms over chest* That may be true, but you're singing this a little... personal, don't you think? I am your boyfriend! You are not single!
Wanda and Natasha: *just grinning at the bickering couple*
Y/N, mirroring Loki's words: *crosses her arms over her chest as well* Well, that may be true, but as far as I can remember you didn't put a ring on it!
*a murmur went through the crowd at Y/N's words*
Wanda and Natasha: Oh ho ho! *looking at each other with wide eyes and opened mouths; trying to suppress a smile*
Y/N, confidently: So, technically, I am single!
Loki: *shocked, jaw slacking* So that's the card you are playing now, yes?
Y/N: Yes, babe, because it's true! Now put my music back on!
Natasha: *walks over and puts music back on*
Y/N, Wanda and Natasha: *keeping on dancing and singing*
Loki: *still stunned and shocked*
Thor: *walking up to Loki, smiling; clapping his brother on the shoulder* Well, brother... Seems like you have to put a ring on it.

Loki season 2 Ep.5
(SPOILERS)
This just gonna be a list of things I’m obsessing over in the new episode by order of importance to me (I’m sorry):
GOD. OF. STORIES. Buildup. YES!!! From the episode title to Loki specifically mentioning saving their stories (only other time he mentioned stories to represent a person’s life was in the very first episode of this show I think). I’m way too excited.
Mobius…I’m sorry this will be mainly Lokius based. *Ahem* Mobius a single dad who can’t shut up about being single and the only person he talks about stuff that isn’t just Jet-Ski related is Loki. Everyone else he meets he kinda just stays on topic but Loki; “Hey, stranger who might of followed me from work, want a beer? I’m also a single dad.” And two things I feel like I see differently than a lot of the fandom: a) I don’t think Don (Just remembered that’s his name) has a dead wife. Like, who describes your wife being dead as ‘Long gone’ and immediately tries to pawn off a belonging that you used as a couple? b) People saying the kids act like Loki and Thor which means Mobius represents Odin but…Odin kinda sucked as a dad? And Frigga was a MASSIVE part of raising the kids, so an Odin variant being able to step in is. Unrealistic. Oh and Hela? Hi??? Hela exists. So nah, I think they made it that way the same way they made Thor adopt Love, to fix the mistakes of the past generation with the new ones. Thor is raising Love unlike how his father raised him. Loki could raise the brothers to not have the same issues he had with his own brother, and what they both had issues with when raised together by Odin.
(Last one was long) I think I made a theory a long time ago that Casey/Frank was related to the unsolved case of the guys escaping Alcatraz. Could be wrong, if not, hey one of my theories was right!
O.B. my baby boi was a failed Sci-Fi writer that ended up inspiring the god of stories to save all the stories across the multiverse. He’s secretly the most important writer character in the MCU :’)
B-15 being a nurse makes a lot of sense and explains why she became softer and more focused on helping others after she got her memories back. Her true nature of helping others came back to her, which probably ask explains why she really hate the idea of pruning people again.
I want to talk about Sylvie and all the neat stuff about her…But my Bi brain keeps getting distracted by that scene of her without her jacket…She’s- she’s great here too 👍
Final unimportant thing: Any Doctor who fan get time explanation flashback the moment O.B picked up that mug with pens in it? “I’m a pen in a mug?” “Yes you are, Donna Noble.”

A worm family
Tumblr media
Pairing: Loki x reader
Summary: You ask Loki if he would still love you if you were a worm.
Word Count: 611
A/N: Hey everyone! Happy Birthday @lokisbiiiitch1993 !! This is for you sister 💖 hope you enjoy!!
Masterlist
You were sitting in the living room of the Avengers compound with Peter while talking about something. Some other Avengers were out on a mission or training. And your boyfriend Loki was on a trip to Asgard with his brother Thor. Loki was coming back in a few hours, and you were very excited to finally see him again.
“Did you see the Tik-Tok that I sent you?” Peter asked you while putting his phone away.
“Which one do you mean?” You wondered because he sends you a lot lately.
“The one where a girl asked her boyfriend if he would still love her if she was a worm.”
“Oh, that one, yeah it was funny.” You replied and wondered what Loki would say to you.
“I think you should ask Loki and see what he would say.” Peter suddenly suggested.
“I don’t know Peter, he will probably find it dumb and will laugh.”
“But you want to know what he would say am I right?”
“Yeah” you mumbled.
“Then you should ask him. Loki loves you so much I don’t think he would laugh about it. But I really have to go now I have to study for my science test tomorrow.”
“Maybe I’ll ask him later, I wish you good luck on the test!” You gave Peter a quick hug and said goodbye to each other.
You were in the living room in the Avengers compound with Wanda and Natasha when Loki and Thor finally arrived from their trip to Asgard. You were so happy and glad to see your boyfriend again. You ran to him with a smile on your face. He hugged you tight while whispering in your ear.
“My love I missed you so much.”
“I missed you too, Lokes” you whispered while hugging him.
“I missed you too Lady Y/n” Thor smiled beside you. You both smiled at each other after breaking the hug. You looked at Thor and told that you missed him too.
“Did you caused any mischief again?” When you asked that Loki grinned at you.
“Of course, he did.” Thor said and made you chuckle. They told you everything they did in Asgard. Loki then wanted to know what you did while he was away and he promised you that he will take you with him next time. Not only to show you everything but also that you could meet his mother. Loki told you so much about her and you can’t wait to meet her.
In the evening at your and Loki's daily reading hour you looked up from your book and thought how you should ask him or if you even should ask him.
“Is everything alright my dear?” Loki whispered while looking over to you.
“Yes, everything is fine, don’t worry.”
“Are you sure?” You mumbled a yes and tried to concentrate on the book in your hands again.
After a while you looked at Loki and thought what he would say to you. “Loki?”
“Yes, my love?” He put his book on the bedside table and then smiled to you.
“I know this may sound stupid, but would you still love me if I was a worm?” you mumbled shy.
“Of course, I would Y/n! I would shapeshift myself into a worm so I could still be with you. And then we can have cute little worm babies.” He added with a smile on his face. A tear rolled down your face and you smiled. You have never been so happy as with him.
“I love you so much Loki.”
“I love you too Y/n and I will never let anything happen to you.”

Loki Laufeyson x Fem Asgardian!Reader
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: ANGST, Mentions of Death and Grief, Abandonment Issues, Insecurities
PREFACE: Loki and Reader have always been frenemies of sorts, constantly teasing and getting on each other's nerves, but that all changed when Loki started growing distant.
A/N: Flashbacks in Italics!
Frigga doesn't die and Loki knew he was adopted since he was a child in this A/U!
My big scary baby :,(
Tumblr media
I've been with the Royal Family since I was merely a child. My father was one of King Odin's guards, so I'd spent nearly my whole life within the palace's walls, becoming one of Queen Frigga's handmaidens.
Thor and I got along great...it was his brother that was the issue. All I ever heard about the young prince was that he liked to cause trouble. For his family, the people of Asgard and the staff who worked to end, trying to clean up his messes.
I was more than certain it had to do with his Jotunn side, but, I withheld from making such remarks.
To say our friendship was complicated would be the understatement of the millennium. He was always so audacious, especially towards the staff, which did not exclude me.
A vivid memory I had growing up was one where Loki decided it would be a good idea to shapeshift into snake and 'surprise' me, as I was making a visit to Thor's chambers.
"Thor?", I called out into the room,
Peaking my head in.
"Your mother says it's supper time"
Being met with no response, I figured he was already on his way to the dining hall and just as I was turning to leave and head back to my quarters, I see a serpent hastily slithering towards me.
I let out a blood-curdling scream, jumping back against the door and landing inside of Thor's room.
"Help! Someone!", I yell,
"(Y/N)?", I hear Thor's voice,
I turn back and see him, looking down at me with concern laced in his eyes. A flash of green catches my attention and when I face the front of me once more, I was met with Loki struggling to breathe from laughing so hard.
"You should've seen your face!"
"That is not funny!", I scold,
As Thor helped me onto my feet.
"Oh, lighten up, it was a harmless joke"
"Harmless? My heart nearly gave out!"
He scoffs, before exiting the room.
Let's just say that wasn't the first nor the last of his practical jokes, so at some point, I've just grown accustomed to the mischief. You can only be poked at so many times, before you've grown immune to the constant teasing.
But despite everything and him being the snarky son of a bitch that he was...I still found myself falling for him.
I remember the night that it happened.
I was just nineteen, when my father died protecting Odin. It took place on one of his missions, when an ambush broke out and he was pierced through the heart by someone after the king.
I was sitting in my room, stitching up one of Thor's capes, when my best friend walked.
"(Y/N)", the fellow handmaiden called out into my room,
"Yes?"
That's when I noticed the worry in her eye.
"What is it?", I questioned,
Standing up from the bed.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm so sorry", her voice gives out,
"You're scaring me", I warned.
It took her a moment to get the words out, but when she did, I felt my stomach drop to my feet.
"It's your father...he's dead"
Nothing felt real in that moment. I was more than convinced that I was just simply having nightmare.
"What?"
"There was an ambush during one of King Odin's expeditions and he took a sword through the heart", she wept.
I shook my head in disbelief.
"No"
"(Y/N)-", she says,
Taking steps towards me.
"No, you're lying"
She attempts to hold me, as I was repeatedly trying to pull away.
"You're lying!"
"(Y/N), please", she sobbed,
"YOU'RE LYING!"
Finally, she was able to pull my defeated frame into her arms, trying her hardest to soothe me.
"You're lying", I cried against her shoulder,
"Papa"
That was all I could do in that moment. Repeatedly call out to him, knowing there would be no answer.
I was so devasted by his loss. I locked myself away for days, not being able to sleep or eat. Whenever someone would try to check in on me, they were simply met with my voice through the door telling them I was fine.
Thor, being my best friend, organized a private funeral to honor his last selfless act.
So, there I stood before his casket, with tears streaming down my face, as I wished it had been me who took that blade instead.
"He was a noble man, (Y/N)", Thor said,
Placing a careful hand on my shoulder.
"This isn't fair", I whispered,
"I know"
"Of all people, why him? He was good. He's only ever been good", I struggled against my tears.
No longer being able to hold my composure, I walk out of the room and collapse onto the floor, gathering the remainder of my strength to sit up against the wall, before burying my face in my knees.
I'd never felt so crushed. Like, the rug had been ripped away from beneath my feet, sending me crashing onto the cold hard ground face first.
A moment of quiet passes, when I hear the door's handle click open.
"Thor, please leave me alone", I pleaded,
"It's not Thor"
I look up and see Loki, standing before me.
"Sorry to disappoint"
I sigh.
"If you're here to pick on me, now isn't exactly the best time", my coarse voice warned,
As I turned away. Just as I thought he would take the hint and leave me be, he joins me on the floor.
"I'm not going to. Not on a day like this", he reassured,
Placing a hand atop mine.
"He truly was a good man"
I nod, still unable to look him in the face.
"Yeah. He really was", I agreed,
Tearing up once more.
"I am aware of the fact that we do not always see eye to eye, but...I'm here to listen. Whether it's you crying or spilling your heart out, I will be there. Believe it or not, I do care about you"
"You don't have to-"
"I do"
I look back at him, confused.
"You and your father have always been so good to my family, even if it meant putting yourselves in harm's way"
"So this is what this is? A pity talk?"
"What? No-"
"If you're doing this because you feel bad for me, then don't"
He sighs to himself, before continuing to speak.
"I am here because you've turned everyone away and try as you might, it won't work on me. I've known you long enough to know that isolating yourself will only make things worse for you in the end"
I was speechless. I'd never seen him so sincere or honest. It was almost chilling.
"I'm not going anywhere", he promised,
Intertwining our fingers. That was the first time I'd felt something other exasperation for the prince. I felt...safe. Like, for the first time in what felt like my entire life, I was finally being seen.
Too tired to argue, I lay my head against his shoulder, whilst closing my eyes.
Since that day, our relationship had mellowed out and we could actually communicate without biting the other's head off. I actually grew to enjoy his company more and more as the days went on, but with the enjoyment, came the worry.
I was falling for him and I knew it.
What worried me wasn't the act of actually falling, more so the certain rejection I would face, if my true feelings were to ever surface past the bounds of my mind.
Despite that, he and I would eventually become the best of friends. Sneaking out past curfew to drink till the sun came up, whilst he talked about the adventures he and Thor would go on.
"It's true!", he defended,
As I let out a loud cackle.
"Oh, you and your brother are something else", I reply,
After catching my breath.
"Well, what can I say? I'm quite fun"
"I'm sure"
I turn to face him and he was already staring at me, with a soft smile. I shoot him a confused look, taking a sip from my cup.
"What?"
"Nothing", he shakes his head.
I couldn't help but blush at his gaze.
Seemingly, out of the blue, Loki had begun distancing himself from me. He would no longer meet me at midnight or even make his usual sarcastic remarks at me.
"Loki, I had a question about this book I found-", I asked,
Walking up to him, when he cuts me off by slightly brushing past me.
"Ask Thor", he replied dismissively.
This would go on for the next following weeks. Him avoiding me and me endlessly wondering why. Yes, I was confused, but more than anything, I was hurt. After everything, he was back to being cold and unkind.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm fine"
"Loki-"
"I said I'm fine! Could you please leave? I don't have the patience for your vexing today!", he yells.
I hadn't seen him for days after that. All I could do was carry on with my duties and spend the nights crying till I was to exhausted to stay awake. Was it something I had done? Or said? What could have possibly happened to make him hate me? Too many questions left unanswered, till I could no longer bare the agony.
If this was meant to be the end of the line for us, I was going to get that closure. No matter the hurt that awaited me at the other side of it.
I searched up and down the entire palace looking for him, but to no avail. I eventually run into Thor, but he was more nervous than usual.
"Thor, have you seen your brother?"
"No", he said,
Avoiding my gaze whilst trying to walk past me, when I block his way.
"Thor"
"(Y/N), I must go"
"What? I just need-"
"I must", he interrupts,
Finally making contact with my eyes. That's when the realization sunk in.
"Loki", I mutter under my breath.
He sighs, shapeshifting back into his usual form and brushing past me.
Being much taller than me, I chased him down the halls, struggling to keep up with his long strides.
"Loki!", I yelled after him.
But alas, my call was ignored.
"Loki, I can't keep up with you!"
"Then leave"
"Loki!"
He finally stops in his tracks and hesitantly turns back to face me.
"What?"
"You've been avoiding me for weeks", I shrug,
"And?"
"And I deserve to know why"
He scoffs, rolling his eyes.
"You owe me that-"
"I owe you nothing"
His words cut deeper than he knew. Just as I was about to speak, he turns and walks away.
"I'm not done talking to you!"
"I am"
I could no longer hold back the sadness that turned into rage. I was at my limit and I wanted him to know that.
"You're a coward!"
He pauses for a moment.
"After everything, you're just gonna walk away? That's how you wanna end things?", I yell on the verge of tears.
I knew he could hear it in my voice. The pure disappointment and defeat intertwined with my words.
"Fuck you! Fuck you!", I repeated.
I see him take a deep breath, before continuing to walk.
"At least tell me why! What did I do to make you hate me?"
"I don't-", he says,
About to reach his chambers.
"Then why?!"
"Because I love you!", he finally admits.
In that exact moment, everything went quiet. It was as if the world had stopped spinning on its axis and the rest of humanity disappeared around us.
As I stood there, trying to process what I'd just heard, he began slowly making his way to me.
"That is why I've been so cold. See, despite you being a thorn in my side, I couldn't help myself from falling for you. You are beautiful, brave and smart"
I had no words. Did I hear him correctly or had I finally lost my mind?
"But what I admire most...is your heart", he said,
Gesturing to his own.
"I was a lost cause till you deemed me otherwise. You believed that I was worthy of redemption regardless of everything horrible thing I'd done. Not many did and yet that did not sway you. You found it within yourself to forgive me for all the years I'd mistreated you and I will never be able to repay you for that"
"Loki", I whisper,
"I was and still might be that monster parents tell their children about at night, which leaves me wondering how someone like me end up with a person such as yourself in my corner. I know I do not deserve you, (Y/N), but I can no longer hide my true feelings for you"
It was getting harder and harder to fight back the tears that were threatening to spill. To hear him speak so lowly of himself was utterly painful. He wasn't that monster anymore and I knew that to be true.
"Now...feel free to tell me how repulsed you are and how much you hate me, so that we may resume our regular banter, before I inevitably lose my mind over you again"
"Loki-"
"TELL ME!", he screamed,
Causing me to flinch back in shock.
"I can't do that", I said quietly,
He shakes his head, aggressively wiping a tear away.
"Because I don't hate you. I never have"
I take a few careful steps towards him, as he eyes me down.
"Yes, the things you've said to me in the past have gotten under my skin...but none of that matters anymore"
Gently cupping his face, before finally closing the gap between us. His lips were softer than I could've imagined.
It took a slight beat, but he eventually melted into my touch, as his hands held me by my waist. The kiss wasn't rushed or hasty, in fact, it was delicate and soft, like he was making up for the years he'd missed out on. Eventually, I pulled away, pouring my eyes deeply into his and pressing our foreheads together.
"I love you too", I reassured,
"You didn't give up on me...and I won’t give up on you"

Tumblr media

Odin stood there with the papers slowly falling from his hand while Hunnin and Mungin Sat there in absolute shock and very surprise as Thor walked in with you and his son cradled in his arms. Cooing and babbling happily. Hunnin and Mungin immediately flew over Thor's shoulders to see his son. " Awww, look at the little baby, isn't he cute?" Munnigin chirped as the little baby boy tried to reach up and grab his beak. Muungin grunted and squeaked as the baby boy, was shaking him like a toy maraca. Hunngin laughed at him. While he was trying to break free from the little boy's grasp. Odin slowly walked closer to his grandson, looking at him with confusing eyes, he looked back at his son. " I had a grandson, and you didn't tell me?" Odin asked surprisingly while the little boy was grasping his cloak, cooing as he felt the consistency.
Thor nodded, " Yes, I did." I had a grandson... And he never told me... Odin thought, But deep down, he reprimanded himself for passing on his thing with beautiful women to his son.
"So... who was the lady you conceived with? Odin asked. You cleared your throat to get his attention, and he quickly turned his gaze towards... you... The maid. He assigned you to his son?! He pointed his finger at his son. In realization, " Now that makes a lot of sense." He added. The baby boy resumed tugging on his grandfather's cloak. Odin gently grabbed the baby from Thor's arms. " Now, aren't you a good-looking young man," He said with the love and joy that finally... He's got a grandkid!! As if he's not old enough at it is.

You and Thor looked at each other than at Odin and your son, which whom he was getting along with. " I told you they'll get along just fine." You said as you exhorted his arm. He looked back at you with a tiny smile, before kissing the top of your head. When you told him, that it was time to meet his grandfather, he was a little conservative at first, but with slight persuasion, he agreed. And now his father was showing his new toys and bonding with his grandson, which lasted for hours till Thor joined in. It was actually kinda adorable. Seeing your husband and his father's adhesion with the little boy. About an hour later, your son fell asleep in his crib while his father gently rocked it. His tiny snores escaped his mouth. Loki floated into the new room, which was filled with toys, baby toys, and books. While he glanced at certain brother and maid with a crib. He peaked over to see your son sleeping away. He noticed the red hair anywhere. He looked at him and the baby a couple times before realizing that he was an uncle?! " You slept with your maid?!" He asked loudly. Thor gave a deathly stare for yelling so loudly while his son was sleeping, but he was only moving a little bit, so it was no bother. Loki lowered his voice, " You slept with your maid?" Thor only stared at him before throwing him out of the baby room. " Was that necessary love?" Thor turned to you. " Yes, it was."

BOREDOM
Summary: Y/N tries to avoid getting homework done by bugging two Demigods. It doesn’t go in her favor…or does it 😉
Word Count: 2,088
Pairings: Ler!Thor Ler!Loki Lee!Reader
Tumblr media
You were bored. With everyone on missions or spending time with their families, you needed some entertainment. Being the youngest on the team along with Parker, Stark was making you stay home this weekend and finish homework. Even being an Avenger, school was still important. You argued and insisted that you attend the mission but Stark had the final word.
You’d been “working” on your homework for an hour and decided to take a break and wander the compound. You thought, minus maybe Pepper who was usually in her office you’d be alone. Much to your surprise you saw two demigods sitting in the lounge area. Your lips curled up into a smile. They hadn’t seen you enter the room and you figured you’d sneak up and spook the brothers.
Before you could take a step, without looking up from his book you heard Loki speak.
“There’s no use in trying to sneak up on us Y/N. I know you’re behind me.”
“Ugh! No fair Loki.” you pouted crossing your arms. “How’d you even know I was there?”
“Darling.” Loki scoffed as he closed his book and turned his head to look at you. “You’re talking to the God of Mischief. You can’t get anything past me.”
Your eyebrows furrowed as you looked over at Thor who wore an amused smirk on his face.
“He is unfortunately right young Y/N. Even as kids, I could never best him.” Thor chucked. “But it matters not because you shouldn’t even be down here. Didn’t Stark order you to finish your school work?”
“I uh, decided to take a break.” you said clearing your throat. “Needed to get some air and all that.”
“Ah.” Thor nodded, not entirely convinced by your answer. “Well my brother and I will be here should you need us. Back to it.”
Your eyes widened in realization. “Wait a minute! Stark kept you guys from the mission to be my BABYSITTERS?”
“I wouldn’t put it that way exactly…” Thor started but glancing over at Loki who was clearly amused by your reaction, spoke up.
"Oh I would." he said with a deep chuckle. “Yes. Stark asked us to make sure you did as you were told. Seeing as last time you were left unattended you did not finish your school work and failed an assignment.”
Your pout only furthered more at Loki’s words. “I’m not a baby. I don’t need to be watched.” you said with a stomp of your foot, digging your metaphorical hole deeper.
The brothers both raised an eyebrow in amusement. You huffed, knowing you’d proven their point.
“Okay fine. But I do need a break. I’m bored up there. Can I hang out with you guys for a little while. Pleeeeease?” you asked looking between the two with the biggest puppy dog eyes you could muster.
Going over to Thor, who you knew was the softie of the two, you wrapped your arms around his big torso and looked up at him. “Please Thor? We don’t hang out enough. We are always off doing missions or you guys go back to Asgard and I miss you.”
Thor looked down at you with a soft smile as he stroked your hair gently. The brothers had grown quite fond of you since you’d joined the team. Being the youngest of them, they felt protective of you like big brothers. The world was harsh and it didn’t hurt to have two demigods on your side. You knew Thor was a pushover, it would be Loki that would be the tough one to crack.
“Brother.” Thor said putting his arm around you affectionately. “Why don’t we let the young maiden take a break from her studies? Surely it won’t hurt to take some time to enjoy the company.”
Loki’s eyes narrowed you, his hands on his hips. He pinched the bridge of his nose before letting out a sigh of defeat. “Fine. But only for a short while. I don’t want to deal with Stark when he comes home and Y/N has yet to finish her school work.”
“YAY!” you cheered throwing your arms around Loki.
Not expecting the sudden impact, Loki stumbled a bit but gave you a small pat on the shoulder. He wasn’t much for affection like his brother, but you knew he cared for you nevertheless.
“I mean it Y/N.” he chastised. “Only a short break and then you are to return to your studies. Understood?”
“Yeah yeah sure.” you said with a dismissive wave of your hand.
Sure enough, you break went by entirely too quick. You were curled up on the couch, watching tv with your head on Thor’s shoulder when suddenly the tv clicked off.
“Hey!” you shouted looking over at Loki who shrugged. “What gives?”
“Breaks over. As agreed, it is time to go back upstairs. Should you need assistance with your work, you may call one of us and we will do what we can. We are fairly well versed in Midgardian studies. But until then, off you go.”
“No.” you said confidently crossing your arms.
“I’m sorry. What did you say?” Loki asked closing his book and looking at you incredulously.
“You heard me.” you snarked back, folding your arms once again in defiance. “I said no. N-O spells no.”
You heard Thor snort laugh behind you. He knew how this was going to end but you were digging your own grave and he was enjoying himself.
Loki scoffed a laugh before standing up and approaching the couch, where you and Thor sat.
“Y/N….” Loki said in a warning tone. “This isn’t going to end well for you darling. I’d stop while you’re ahead.”
“I don’t want to do my school work today. Maybe tomorrow.” you said reaching for the remote only to have it disappear in a green flash.
“Hey! Not fair. You can’t use magic to hide things.”
“Oh well.” he shrugged while a smile tugged at his lips. “Off you go.” he said reaching for your hand only for you to shake your head.
“I said no Loki.”
Loki sighed. “Then you leave me no choice.” he said with a fake pained expression on his face.
“For whAT?” you let out a squeak as Loki tackled you to the couch and with little effort had pinned your hands to your sides.
“Lohoki! What the hehell?!” you said nervous giggles building in your chest.
“I’m going to make you regret telling me no. Stark said to use whatever method we needed, to make sure you were not going to skip your schooling. This seems like a great way to do so.”
Opening your mouth to protest was cut short as you felt ten fingers find purchase on your sides. Sporadic giggles began to escape your lips as you tried to twist and turn away from the tickly feeling.
“Lohohoki!” you squealed as his nimble fingers worked their way up your sides.
Loki’s dark chuckle told you that he wasn’t stopping anytime soon.
“Brother, if you wouldn’t mind I could use some assistance.” Loki chided. “The young maiden is quite squirmy.”
“Certainly, dear brother.” you heard Thor chuckle behind you.
You felt slight weight in your shoulders and looked up to see the flowy blonde hair hair dangling above your face, Thor grinning at you through it.
“Thohohor! Hehelp!”
Thor smiled affectionately at you. “I would count myself a fool to challenge my brother. A lesson you dear Y/N have yet to learn.” He chuckled before fluttering his fingers along your neck, eliciting more squeals as you shook your head trying to evade his fingers.
Loki leaned forward toward your face. “Now darling. Are we going to behave now and do as Stark has requested or shall we continue this?” he asked halting his fingers for a few moments.
You took in deep breaths at the momentary reprieve. Truthfully you didn’t hate it. No one really knew but you had a feeling the Asgardian was catching on.
You smirked at the God of Mischief, playfulness dancing in your eyes. The twinkle in your eye caught Loki’s attention and a full grin spread across his face.
“You like this. Don’t you, young one? It’s why you’re being so defiant. You wanted this to happen.” he said starting to snake his fingers up your rib cage, bubbly giggles once again pouring from your lips.
“I do not understand.” You heard Thor question behind you.
As if you weren’t apart of the conversation, Loki continued his tickle attack. Your infectious laughter ringing through the room as you weakly batted at his hands.
“Have you not noticed, that our young friend here has not asked me to stop once? She has been given opportunity to yield and yet she responds with words she knows will get her in trouble?” Loki asked. “She LIKES this. She WANTED this. Isn’t that right little one?” Loki questioned you, his nimble fingers now reaching under your arms, arguably your worse spot.
“LOHOHOKIHIHI!” your hard belly laughter raising several octaves. Pushing on his hands did nothing. He was a God after all and his strength was no match for yours. “PLEHEHEASE! GAHAHAH!” your legs kicked wildly behind him.
Thor smirked as he too realized. “Ah. I see now. She’s yet to ask either of us to stop. Is that right Y/N? You enjoy the tickles, do you not?” Thor chuckled as his fingers made contact with your neck once again, a scream of laughter erupting from you.
Your cheeks a bright crimson color as you turned your head trying to avoid eye contact as the two Asgardians tickled you mercilessly.
“Come on darling. Just admit it. You like this.” Loki teased.
“NEHEVER!”
“Very well.” Thor sighed jokingly. “Brother, if you will.” he said gesturing for Loki to step aside. “Hold her please.”
“Nonono! Thohohor!” you squealed your eyes pleading.
In an instant, the two brothers had switched places with Loki now holding you down with little effort as Thor positioned himself at your waist.
“Now then.” Thor continued “Is my brother correct in his assumptions?”
You bit your lip to bite back a giggle. “Mahahaybe.” you admitted closing your eyes in embarrassment.
“Hehey!” Thor’s deep laugh rang through the room. “Look at me Y/N.”
When your eyes remained shut, Thor dug his fingers deep in your hip, causing a boisterous laughter to come out. You peaked at him with one eye and saw him looking at you with a gentle smile.
“It is nothing to be embarrassed by. Actually, it is adorable. Don’t you agree brother?” he asked looking at Loki who remained sitting at your head, occasionally fluttering his fingers in your neck.
“Indeed it is brother. What I don’t understand is why she shields her enjoyment of it.”
You sighed but a small smile played on your lips. Thor and Loki had released their hold on you, allowing you to sit up.
“Because. It’s not something most people enjoy. I grew up an only child. My parents worked all the time. I wasn’t given affection much as a child. And then…” you continued. “The…thing happened to me and I became a part of this team, this…family and for the first time I felt like I had brothers and sisters and… friends.” you stopped for a moment wiping your eyes.
“Heyyy.” Thor said pulling you to his chest and rubbing your shoulder. “It’s okay. It’s okay to want affection. As a young child you were deprived of what you craved most. It is natural to want that.”
“I hate to agree with my brother.” Loki chimed in which made you let out a muffled laugh in the crook of Thor’s shoulder. “But he is right. And if you need us to step in and be your big brothers, then that is what we shall be.”
You sighed in relief this time, a smile, a real smile this time gracing your face. “Thank you both. I really was bored though.”
“Well then.” Loki chuckled as he patted your shoulder. “We have been distraction enough. As agreed it’s time to return to your studies.”
You looked at him with a slight pout, twiddling your thumbs. “Would um…could you…” you asked embarrassed still.
“She wants us to continue brother.”
Thor grinned at you. “And what kind of big brothers would we be if we said no?” he asked before tackling you on the couch again, your deep laughter once again echoing through the room, your honorary big brothers tickling you to pieces.
Your homework long forgotten.

happy new years, my loves!
to start off the year, here are some prompts and headcanons that you’re free to use or simply discuss! and i want to remind you all that my dms are open to everyone if you want to have a chat <3
“why are you crying, loki?”
loki loves to pick flowers and gives them to his loved ones
“loki don’t bite!”
he’s an angry baby…
if he does not wish to be separated from frigga (or any comfort person), he will have the biggest tantrum till he’s returned to her
he doesn’t understand gender all that much, which isn’t unusual for a baby but it’s completely lost on him. so he expresses himself very freely, through watching shows targeted at girls, collecting flowers, watching sylvie put makeup on (the rare times that she does) and going through her clothes and playing with “girl’s” toys. he sometimes asks to wear dresses that he sees in store windows, eventually they’ll get him a special one… though thor will need some convincing
he also loves his mother’s clothes
what if… odin was a good dad? yes i am in the process of writing some short fics of this
he gets the zoomies! then he runs around the room and often has to be taken outside to get the beans out!
he loves to be ‘naked’ (just a nappy on, curtesy of @archaiceuphoriah for this one)
he loves to play with either thor’s beard or mobius’ moustache, they’re very fascinating. he also loves the feel of them when he gets kisses
he loves to watch people and what they’re doing, especially frigga when they’re in her morning room with guests
do not interrupt the prince’s beauty sleep! you have been warned.
he loves footie onesies, so comfy…
he also loves to stay in his pyjamas as long as he’s allowed, they’re very cozy, okay?
as children, thor would always take great care with his little brother. he would take him to the gardens to explore, and sneak into the kitchens to find baked goods and once loki grew tired and wanted his mummy, thor would carry his small brother back

what makes a princess
See my full list of works here!
Summary: Morgan asks a question about Jane's royalty status that leads to her revealing one of Loki's secrets
Pairing: Loki x Reader
Word Count: 3.4k
Warning/s: potentially inaccurate depictions of how to become royalty in Asgard; other than that, none, this is just fluff [let me know if i missed anything!]
Things to be aware of: Morgan being an adorable lil beb; Nat doling out some tickle torture; teammates/coworkers to lovers
Tumblr media
"Is Auntie Jane a princess?"
You looked up from your laptop, taking a break from typing out your latest set of reports to wrap up your most recent mission with Nat to look at little Morgan Stark, who was sitting across you at the dining table. She looked the spitting image of her father as she anticipated your answer.
"I don't…think so…?" you trailed off, trying to remember if Thor had even mentioned anything recently about plans to marry the mystical hammer wielding scientist. "Maybe one day soon, baby. When they get married."
"Who's getting married?" The velvety low timbre of Loki's voice nearly made you jump out of your seat, his fingers briefly ghosting over the skin of your shoulder not helping in the slightest. A small squeak of protest slipped from your mouth when he picked up your coffee mug. "Ease your worry, darling. I'm simply refilling your cup. Black with a teaspoon of sugar, or would you prefer something sweeter?"
Morgan's little laugh began to echo throughout the common area. "You have confuzzled brows again, Auntie Y/N."
The image of the raven-haired god looking up at you through his lashes from where he stood behind the kitchen island may very well haunt your dreams tonight in the best possible way. "You know what…surprise me, Mischief." The smirk he sent your way should have had you worried with what he had in mind, and yet the only thing you felt was the violent fluttering in your stomach that had nothing to do with your prolonged fasting. "As for your first question…we were talking about Thor and Jane."
"Ah, well my oaf of a brother may think he's been keeping relatively quiet about the matter, but that day will most definitely be coming sooner rather than later," he spoke over the clinking of a metal spoon stirring around in your cup.
"So it's like in the cartoons?" Morgan directed her question at him. "The prince has to marry the woman he loves so that she becomes a princess?"
"Not quite, little Stark." Your brows knit together again at the sound of whipped cream coming out of a can coming from his direction. "There are no strict marital customs in Asgard, and as such if a member of the royal court were to publicly commit themself to another, then in turn that individual would become royalty as well. Thor has publicly committed himself to Doctor Foster, and despite having abdicated the throne to the Valkyrie, he is still a Prince of Asgard."
"So Auntie Jane is a princess?"
"Don't arm us with this info, Laufeyson. I might just call her Princess Foster for the rest of time," Nat's voice sounded through the common area, her usually lethal hands wielding a more delicate touch when she ruffled the hair on your and Morgan's heads before occupying the seat beside you.
"By Asgardian customs, yes. You can consider Doctor Foster a princess."
The assassin eyed Loki's approaching form with a knowing smirk on her face, tilting her head to look at the mug he placed on the table a few inches from your hand. "Hold on, are you telling us that all that's needed for someone to be considered royalty in Asgard is if a member of the royal family is in love with them? That's it?"
"If it's as widely known as how my brother loves his mortal," he confirmed. "And while I surmise that she will not appreciate being addressed as such, you would not be incorrect in calling her Princess or Your Highness." You were acutely aware of the god's proximity to you from the slight movement in the corner of your eye of his fingers at the back of your chair. And the slight heat coming from his body literally inches from your side.
"Her Royal Highness, Princess Jane Foster," you mused, blowing lightly on the hot beverage in your mug and holding back the slightest thrill as the taste of your favorite little indulgence, a white chocolate mocha with a cold vanilla flavored whipped cream on top, flooded your tastebuds and blanketed you in an instant comfort. "She's definitely gonna hate that. Thank you, Mischief."
Your heart caught in your throat when he tucked a hand under your chin, keeping you looking up at him as his free hand straightened out the ruffled locks of your hair, putting them neatly back into place. "My pleasure, little mortal," he murmured, swiping his thumb briefly at the corner of your mouth before walking back to the kitchen, starting on his own drink.
"You wanna fill me in on this domestic bliss vibe I'm picking up from Horns over there?" Nat whispered, leaning in so close she was practically draped on your lap trying to sneak the cup of coffee away from you to take a quick sniff. "He knows your 'treat yourself coffee'? Alright how long have you two been doing the horizontal tango, spill the hardware details, I'm texting Wanda and Jane. Toot suite. You've been holding out on us, you absolute slut--Ow."
You rolled your eyes at her reaction to you elbowing her in the side. "Please, we both know that barely tickled. Now stand down, Romanoff, I haven't been holding back on anything and you know it--"
"That means you're a princess, too, Auntie Y/N!"
The Russian spy chuckled at Morgan's excitement, resting her chin on your shoulder like a child awaiting a bedtime story. "Uhm…no, sweetie. It doesn't work like that," you tried explaining to the little girl. "See there's more than one kind of love. There's the romantic love like you see in your princess movies, and that's the type that your Dad has for your Mom, the type Thor has for Jane. And that's what makes your Auntie Jane a princess."
"Then there's the love for family and friends," Nat continued for you, motioning between the three of you. "The way I love you, Uncle Clint, Auntie Y/N, and the rest of the team--well, most of them." She elbowed you before you could let out the teasing words dancing at the tip of your tongue. The name of the one that Nat loved in the romantic sense. "Not a single word, Williams."
"I wasn't gonna say anything," you deflected coyly, batting your eyes to feign innocence. "It's not like when you said 'most' my mind immediately went to a certain Serge--NAT!!" You busted out into giggles as nimble fingers found every single ticklish spot by your ribs and showed you no mercy. "I'll get--hahahahaha--I'll get you back for thihihihis, Romanoff, I promise you."
You made a quick note to slip some hot pink hair dye into her shampoo bottle on your next sleepover. The tickling onslaught had taken up all your attention that you didn't even notice that the dark-haired Asgardian leaning back against the kitchen counter was watching the scene before him, a fond smile slowly stretching across his face the longer he watched you.
Nat eventually let up once you started clutching your stomach from laughing too hard, continuing her explanation to little baby Morgan, who was currently the picture of angelic patience. And now looking not a thing like her father.
"Anyway, that kind of love is the kind that Thor has for us. That means that while there is love there, it doesn't make the entire team princes and princesses. You get me, baby?"
"I get you, Auntie Nat. But you don't get me. Auntie Y/N is a princess, too."
You took a breath before closing your laptop, promising yourself that you'd finish the reports later tonight. "Last I checked, sweetheart, Asgardian Barbie doesn't like me like that."
She rolled her eyes at you. "I know that! But Prince Loki does, and that's why you're a princess, too!"
The amused smile on your face immediately dropped at her words, your neck twitching from the sound of a spoon clattering against the sink and the sound of hurried footsteps walking out of the kitchen causing your skin to prickle. "Morgan…sweetie, you know it's not nice to say things that aren't true," you said softly, not bothering to mask the wavering tone of your voice.
"But it is!" she insisted, pointing her little hand towards the door. "Princess Auntie Jane, tell her!"
"Princess--? Oh…I'm guessing you all know about those customs in Asgard that technically make me a princess now?" You nodded your answer at her, not trusting yourself to say anything while you were still struggling to wrap your head around that bombshell that Morgan dropped on you. Wondering if it even was a bombshell to begin with or just the child's overactive imagination. "So I'm also guessing that now you all know that Y/N's a princess, too?"
"She most definitely is not," you protested, briefly poking at her ribs to drive your point home. "Jane. Babes, this isn't funny." You motioned a pointed finger between her and Nat. "You both know how I feel about him, so baiting me with this kind of hope is just cruel and unusual punishment, especially when I know I haven't done anything wrong to either of--"
"You kind of really are, though," the scientist kept on, giving you a look as if she was amused by how this was completely new information to you. "You really didn't know that Mr 'You are all beneath me' wants you literally beneath him?"
"Foster, I am two seconds away from kicking your ass over that line. Mostly because I didn't think of it myself." You elbowed Nat in the side again. "Harder. I could almost feel that."
"Can you two just be serious for two seconds and tell the baby that she's wrong about Loki?"
You were about to face Morgan again to advise her to find the god and apologize for saying something so outlandish, when Nat and Jane moved in unison, a hand placed on each of your shoulder, leaning in a way that you were now face to face with both of them.
"Okay, little baby," Jane started with a mock serious look. "You're wrong about Loki."
"Unbelievably wrong," Nat capped off. "Fine. If you don't believe us, then let's start with how he saved you from that building in Belarus."
"He has saved each of our asses at least once in the last few years," you argued.
"Yeah, but he doesn't heal us with his magic and then stays with us in the medical wing waiting for us to wake up. And I should know because that entire night Thor gave me a laundry list of the times that he got injured from battle and Loki would tell him, and I quote, that 'he shouldn't expend his energy on healing magic when it could have been better utilized for fortifying defenses'."
"That's--That can't--That doesn't sound right," you muttered, trying to remember anything from Belarus other than being trapped under a collapsed column, convinced that your legs were done for and you'd never walk again, assuming that anyone would even find you in the wreckage. And then next thing you knew you were in the medical wing, with the god only briefly touching your head and telling you that he was glad you were alright before running off to call for Bruce to check on you.
"You make him smile," Morgan spoke up, her face lit up the same way it did when you sat with her on Princess Movie Nights.
"He smiles around everyone as long as they're not your father or your Uncle Steve."
"No, Auntie Y/N." She flopped herself onto the table, arms outstretched towards you, like she was trying to quite literally grab your attention and hold on to it. "With us, Prince Loki smiles with his face. When you're around, he smiles with his heart."
Her words had you stunned silent, frozen in your seat as your friends let you go to walk over to the other side of the table and lift Stark's daughter up in the air to wrap her in a warm embrace and nuzzle her cheeks, earning them several little echoing giggles from her.
"I uhm…I should go," you mumbled, standing from the table and giving your laptop a small tap. "I'll finish my reports tonight."
"Tomorrow," Nat corrected you. "I have a feeling you're gonna be a bit busy tonight, Princess."
Your pulse was drumming loudly in your ears with every step you took towards Loki's apartment, every single nerve on your body on high alert as if readying you to run at a moment's notice. Whether that was away from his place and back to the compound to tell everyone they were wrong, or into his arms, was yet to be seen.
When you reached his door, you could hear voices coming from the other side. One more hushed and panicked, the other jovial and boisterous. Thor.
"You should have stayed, Brother! You finally need not hide your affections for her, and might I say. 'Tis about time because your skirting around her was getting more than tiresome, Jane and I have been considering locking you two in a tiny room together so you could just tell her."
You couldn't hear what Loki said in response other than something about 'being exposed by Stark's offspring', but that was more than enough to convince you that maybe this wouldn't end in you feeling like a total clown. That maybe there was more credit to the words of Morgan and your friends than you first believed.
Just three seconds of bravery, that's all you need, you told yourself, raising your hand to rap on the door before you could talk yourself out of it.
"It seems that in matters of the heart, your little mortal is braver than you, Brother," you heard the blond Asgardian comment before the door opened to reveal the towering bulging god, giving you a knowing look before shuffling out of your way. "I will gladly answer any question he leaves unanswered by the end of the week, my friend."
"I'm holding you to that, Blondie," you waved him off with a playful smile before turning to face Loki. "Can we talk?"
He looked at you with a hint of caution, almost as if he was on the same level of anxiety that you were, before giving you a small nod and motioning toward the door. "Come in, darling."
The words tumbled out of you as soon as you closed the door. "They told me about Belarus." The caution in his eyes turned into panic. "But I need to hear it from you. Because I have…gaps? In my memory. Things I can't reconcile."
He closed the distance separating you two, taking your hands in his. "Ask me."
"The last thing I remember from that building was that I couldn't feel my legs. And I know that even with all the tech Stark has at his disposal, I shouldn't be up on my feet right now. Not like this. Rhodey is still in crutches despite all the efforts of Stark and Banner combined, and yet somehow…I'm not. So please. Tell me. Did you--"
"I healed you," he cut you off, finishing your inquiry. "I could not bear the thought of you waking up distraught. Adjusting to a new reality where you had to rely on any form of machinery to help you function. Not when I knew that I could cure those ails."
The air left your lungs at his admission, leaving you struggling to even form your next words. "What happened to energy better expended fortifying defenses?"
His mouth turned up slightly in a knowing smirk. "I see my brother told Doctor Foster of our days in the battlefield."
"And he's a touch wounded about it." You gave him a playful squint of your eyes, trying your damnedest to keep the mood light despite how closely he was standing, so close you could feel the slight heat radiating off of him, thinning the air to the point that you found it hard to take in your next breaths. "Why did you do it? You were in the clear, everyone else was in the clear, we finished the mission--"
"I didn't give a damn about the mission," he hissed, stepping even closer to you and effectively trapping you between him and the solid door behind you. His breath came out in shuddering exhales, bottom lip quivering ever so slightly as he rested his forehead against yours. "The only objective that held any weight with me was keeping you safe." His hand rested lightly on your waist, thumb softly stroking your ribcage. "I have braved far worse things than a burning building and I will face even more dire perils if it means your safety. If it means I do not have to witness your light fading away. And as for why…"
He brought his hand up to cup the side of your face, pressing a light kiss to the tip of your nose before his lips ghosted a path to your forehead. If it hadn't been for the god wrapping his arm around you and securing you against him, you would have sunk to the ground from his attentions.
"It is because Stark's daughter speaks the truth," he whispered into your skin, pressing a kiss between your brows. "Because I love you, precious mortal. I never intended for you to know this, to be burdened with the knowledge of my affections, but seeing as I cannot unring this bell, I only wish for you to know that I hold you under no obligation to say anything. All I ask is for to not detest me for my--"
"Are you sure you don't want me to say anything?" you choked out, your heart at your throat from attempting to come to terms with this reality. That these words were actually coming from the god you'd silently pledged your heart to so long ago. That not only did he feel the same, but he was on the exact same page that you were on, believing that the love was unrequited.
"I have long ago resigned to the certainty that my affections for you are--"
"Requited," you breathed, raising shaking hands to rest on his chest, tears welling in your eyes as you felt his erratic heartbeat against your palm. "Don't you dare even try to unring this bell because I don't detest you, Mischief." You braced yourself on his shoulders, rising to the tips of your toes to press a soft, fleeting kiss to his lips. "I love you, too."
You felt your feet leave the ground as his arm tightened around you and lifted you up, bringing your faces level to one another, his fingers weaving through your hair in a firm yet gentle hold. "Are you sure, darling? You wish to be mine?"
"Yes!" you blurted out, your face breaking out into a grin that instantly made your cheeks ache. You could feel the tension that flooded you just moments ago slowly melting away at the sight of him mirroring your joy over the turn of events. Any words you wished to say fell silent with a small squeak at the back of your throat when he leaned in again and captured your lips in a more heated kiss, sighing into each others mouths as he lifted you away from the wall, causing you to wrap your legs around his waist.
When Loki held you up by one arm, opening his apartment door with the other and proceeding to walk back out into the hallway, you let out a little squeak against his lips. "Where--"
"You'll see, my love," he said with a chuckle, pressing one more kiss to your lips before shifting his hold on you, swinging your whole body until he carried you bridal style. "I believe I owe someone a small debt of gratitude for telling you what I had insisted I keep to myself for fear of your abhorrence."
He leaned down and touched his forehead to yours, lightly rubbing the tips of your noses together and making you giggle at the tender gesture. "I could never--"
"I told you he smiles with his heart!" Morgan's little voice pierced the silence of the hall. "And now you do, too, Princess Auntie Y/N!"

To Have and To Hold - Chapter 8
THaTH Masterlist Complete Masterlist
Summary: Loki and Violet reunite. Violet gives birth. A/N: I wanna give a big thanks to @michelleleewise and @lokisgoodgirl for being my BETA readers and for helping me along with my unhinged ideas. Pairing: Loki x OFC/Reader Word Count: Over 1.8K Tags/Warnings: Pregnancy. Early labor. Pain. Dividers by: @firefly-graphics
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The pain was blinding. Your vision was fading around the edges as you tried to focus on something, anything that might relieve the pressure taking over your lower body.  It was as if God himself wrapped his hand around your pelvis and back and squeezed. It came in full force, and He was not giving you any mercy.
You were taken to a brightly lit room. There were many people in black orderly uniforms standing alongside the walls, ready and willing to be of service. Two of them tended to you and took you away from Thor’s embrace. Hands were flying everywhere as they stripped you and placed you in a lightweight silk shift.
“Loki? Where’s Loki?” you cried out.
“Thor, fetch your brother,” Frigga whispered.
“But Father would never allow that,” he answered.
“I’ll deal with your father. You get Loki here any way you can. Do you hear me?”
“Yes, Mother.” Thor nodded as he ran out of the room.
“It’s too early. It’s too early,” you kept repeating to Bruce who was holding onto your hand.
“Vee, it’s gonna be ok.” Bruce squeezed your hand, and rubbed your shoulders, comforting you the only way he knew.
“Why…how, Bruce? It’s too early. Please…” you cried. “My baby.”
“I…I don’t know, Vee. But right now, let’s focus on getting that baby out.” He nodded, his nerves betraying him. “I’m sorry I’m not Loki. But I’ll be here for as long as you need me, ok?” You nodded as you breathed through your mouth.
In. Out. In. Out. The occasional screams of agony tear from your lungs as you try to wrap your head around what’s happening.
“Lady Violet, my name is Gilda. I’ll be your midwife today.” The woman said to you gently. You nodded at her while keeping Bruce right by your side. “We have set up the healer’s bath as a birthing pool for you, milady. The soul forge on top would be able to help us assess the baby and help you along. All right?” You nodded and agreed. “Ok let’s get you in.” Gilda went to your opposite side and helped walk you along to the bath.
“Do Asgardians normally give water births?” you asked, your curiosity winning over your wincing pain.
“Some do, milady. However, it is the preferred method of the Jotunns. And since…” Gilda looked up at you, contrite. “I apologize for being so bold, milady.”
“That’s all right. Since the baby is half Jotunn, you thought it would be significant to honor this method. I appreciate the fore…aaaahhhhhgggg…the forethought,” you screamed.
“Your contractions are getting closer together. Let’s get the soul forge over you and we can begin.”
“No! Wait! Loki. I need Loki. Please,” you begged.
“There isn’t much time, milady.”
Tumblr media
Thor ran down the corridor. Beings of all shapes and sizes hollered and screamed at the sight of the god of thunder. Some were loud and angry for being put in there by the prince himself.
Thor descended one more flight of stairs until he found the one Loki was in privately. His cell was bright and furnished. A contrast to the dark and desperate appearance of Loki wallowing in the corner of the cell.
“Loki…” Thor huffed.
“You’re a tad too late, brother. The sentencing was done hours ago. It was stupendous!” Loki’s crooked smile didn’t reach his eyes.
“Loki!”
“I believe, Father tried to sell tickets…”
“LOKI! Will you shut your insufferable mouth for just one moment?!” Thor yelled and suddenly looked around to see if there were any guards in sight. Thor placed his hands on the lock by the door and the electric borders fell.
“What are you doing?” Loki asked confused. He got up, ready to run, not wanting to waste any time.
“I arrived with Bruce and Violet moments ago.”
“Violet is here?!” Loki asked shocked.
“Yes. She is in labor. Come I’ll fill you in on the way.”
“Where? What room?”
“Healer’s temple. The baths.” Thor said only seconds before Loki grabbed his arm and transported both of them into the hallway of the temple. Thor looked around to orient himself and pointed at the door to his left.
Loki didn’t waste any time as he opened the door and searched the vast room for you. Healers and dignitaries crowded around to bear witness to the birth of the next royal line. He heard you first before he saw you. Your screams of pain were loud and heartrending. “Darling.” He said pushing through the crowd. Running over to you. Reaching for you.
“Loki? Loki!” You held your hand out reaching for him too. And as you both crossed your fingers together and finally held each other, a sense of peace entered your body, making you lose your breath and hitch. He was here and he felt like home. Memories of those long nights sneaking behind the compound where his hands, the same hands that caressed your cheek and held your face, were now finally holding you.
Tears fell down your face as you held on to him tighter. You were afraid that if you let go, he would disappear. And you didn’t think you could handle that right now. “My beautiful Violet. I’m here. I’m here,” he whispered, leaning over you and kissing your forehead.  Loki started looking around. “Who the hell are all these people? Did you want them here?”
“I…I don’t know. I just thought…they needed to be here…” you answered.
“Everybody out!” Loki screamed as he pointed to the door.
“All right, you heard him! Anybody who is not necessary, out!” Thor yelled, ushering other bystanders and chambermaids. Frigga hugged both you and Loki tightly before leaving the room. Thor clapped his brother on the shoulder for support and followed his mother out.
“Loki. I watched her as best I could.” Bruce came up to him.
He shook Bruce’s hand, “I am grateful to you, my friend. I can never thank you enough for all that you’ve done for me…and my family.” Loki said holding you tighter. Bruce gave you a small kiss on the cheek as he said goodbye too and left the room. The only people who were left were Gilda and two other nursemaids.
Loki stripped bare down to his tunic. “Are you ready, my heart?” He asked as he picked you up and carried you over to the large tub. You shook your head as more tears fell from your face. You held on to your stomach as he lowered you down into the warm water. You were submerged up to your chest in the shallow tub. The shimmering fabric of your tunic floated around you like a halo making you look ethereal.
Loki stepped in shortly after you, making you pause. He pulled you gently in front of him as he sat behind you and cradled you in between his legs.
“I’m never letting you go again.” He said adamantly in your ear. You relaxed into Loki, his strong hands cradling your hips. His lean frame protecting you, lifting you up and supporting you, reminding you that you didn’t have to do this alone.
“I’m sorry, Loki,” you started to cry. “I’m so sorry.” You repeated the words in between your screams. Over and over. Loki shushed you wiping your tears, a useless endeavor with his wet hands.
Gilda stood at the foot of the tub as the two maidens placed the soul forge above you. She took one look at it and was about to say something, but you had screamed at the top of your lungs. You grabbed Loki’s knees and squeezed. Your fingernails digging into his skin.
“Ok, milady. Push.” Gilda ordered, kneeling down and reaching into the water.
“I’ve got you, Violet,” Loki said into your ear. You nodded, answering his devotion as you screamed out some more. Your head rolled back as he wiped the sweat off your brows. “You’re doing great, my love.”
After what seemed like hours of pushing, and breathing, you felt momentary relief. You felt your life, all the love and knowledge you had acquired since your birth, pushed out of your body. Your breathing came in easier but was still ragged. You sobbed when you saw Gilda pull your babe from the waters and heard the first cries of your newborn child.
Loki held onto your face, kissing you endlessly, sighing soft praises to you. “You did it, my love. You did it. You are radiant, mother goddess.”
You cried, extending your arms out to hold your baby. Gilda handed it to one of the maidens. “Tressa, place this mirakel in one of the smaller soul forges.” Gilda turned to you, seeing your look of anger and disappointment. “Not yet, milady. You still have one more to deliver.”
“One more?!” both you and Loki yelled out instantaneously. As if it were being summoned, you felt another contraction. Gilda pointed to the soul forge atop of you. “I was going to mention it, but there was no time.” You both looked up, and the quantum field generator showed you an image of another small baby, still inside your body.
“Are you ready to push again?” Gilda smiled.
You nodded, as you barred down and held onto Loki’s hands. His nose running alongside your face, whispering nothing but encouraging words to you. “My darling Violet,” he chuckled. “Always giving me more love back than I give you.” He kissed your temple. “Two miracles in one. I will forever be grateful.” With those beautiful words, you felt his love. You pushed one last time and the third love of your life was born.
You were so exhausted. So overwhelmed. Gilda took the baby and handed it to another maiden who wrapped them and placed them lovingly in the soul forge along with their sibling.
“I want to see them,” you cried.
“You will, milady. But let’s clean you up first.” Gilda instructed. In an instant, Loki picked you up and transferred you over to another tub. The clean waters ran over you and Loki as he joined you.
“Gilda, please tend to the babies. I will look after my wife.” He said in a low voice.
“As you wish your highness,” she said smiling. “Shall I inform her majesty, the Queen?”
“Yes, please. But no visitors at this time.”
“Yes, your highness.” Gilda left to tend to the babies, while one of the handmaidens delivered Loki’s announcement.
Loki’s voice was soothing and gentle as he washed your body. He took great care with you and healed what he could. “I’m afraid the rest will have to be looked at by Gilda or perhaps one of the other healers. Do you feel all right, darling?” he asked.
With fatigue creeping its way to you and the events of the last two days overwhelming you, you couldn’t help but give in to the tiredness. You nodded your head and closed your eyes.
“Sleep, then. I’ll watch over you. I’ll watch over our family.”

You leave Laing on a hopeful note. He listened to you, something you realise you’re not used to, and promised to give it some thought. It was more than you could say for his meeting with Ransom.
You return to the office and bring your boss his coffee. He clucks as he takes off the lid, “the foam is melted.”
“It was busy,” you shrug, “took a while.”
He sighs and lifts the cup, you see the flicker in his eyes.
“You throw that on me a second time–” you warn him.
“Who are you to threaten me?” He puts the cup down so harshly the coffee sloshes, “huh? To walk into my house, barge in on my life–”
“You had a meeting–”
“You are my assistant, not my mother.”
“That’s too bad. If I was, you might have some sense,” you retort, “now if you’re done having a tantrum.”
“This is not a tantrum. I am not a child.”
You stare at him, holding back a grin. You keep your face placid and say nothing. You’ll let him figure it out on his own, if he can.
“Get out. Go do your job,” he dismisses you with a chop through the air, “you know, I could hire someone with less mileage and nicer ass. Easy.”
You resist the urge to dress him down further. You turn on your heel and promptly march out. You’re certain to snap the door behind you.
You sit at your desk and blow out, long and loud. Sure, he could hire someone younger he could ogle but you guarantee she wouldn’t carry his workload. It might be entertaining to hand in your resignation and see it all go down in flames, but you didn’t work all those years to just walk away because of that upstart.
📚
Ransom leaves before his lunch. That’s hardly unusual. You’re stunned he lasted that long before he slinked out like a rat. Your day goes by like sand in the glass. You take a message from his mother about some family gathering. You add it to his calendar.
You clock out, eager to be home to your bottle of wine and bookmarked episodes. At last, you get a night to unwind from this idiot you call a boss. You’ll be even happier if he takes the next morning off.
As you stop at the intersection, your bluetooth chimes and you press the button on the steering wheel to answer. Drysdale’s name shines from the stereo display. Of course, how could you ever dare to be an optimist. You cluck out a ‘Mr. Drysdale.’
“Uh, hi,” an unfamiliar name comes from the speaker, “it appears Mr. Drysdale has overindulged…”
The deep voice fills the cramped compartment of your car. You scowl. What on earth?
“Who is this? Why are you calling me?”
“Yes, well, I’m Thor. The bartender. I have a man facedown behind my bar and no one else answered–”
“Christ almighty,” you sneer, “where is he?”
The man on the other end gives you the name of the club. The one he frequents often. You’re confused, he knows the owner, so why the hell are you being dragged into this?
“Uh, isn’t that man there… the owner?”
“My brother is away on business,” the man answers.
“You can’t wake him up? Throw some water on him?”
“He’s not responding.”
“Is he even alive?” You chuff out.
The man has the audacity to chuckle, “I’m starting to wonder the same, miss.”
“Ugh, fine, I’m on my way,” you crank the wheel and turn away from your home. Another night ruined by that incompetent editor.
📚
A man with a dark mustache carries Ransom out of the bar like a baby. Your boss’ head dangle back lifelessly and you’re only reassured by the rise and fall of his chest. The grumbly man places him in the back seat as you open the door and thank him. You get no answer, no kindness. Funny how it goes away with the years.
You bend his legs so he fits and slam the door. What now? Ransom’s house is about twenty minutes further than your place. You could just leave him in the car but that might be a crime. You get in the driver’s seat and pull off, undecided as you approach the corner.
Left or right.
You turn the wheel and sigh. The day has been long enough. You can’t drive another forty minutes and back. Still, you foresee the regret of your decision.
As you drive, your incapacitated passenger begins to snore. Murmurs that don’t make much sense between kicking your door as he rolls around. He whines as you turn onto your street, the lights flickering through the windows.
“Turn off the light!” He babbles, “mom, go away!”
You shake your head. Is this arrested development? Ransom Drysdale may just be the perfect specimen for a psychological study.
You pull into your spot and get out. Fuck. You open the back door and pull Ransom up to a sitting position. His head lolls but he manages to support himself a little. You’re not the strongest but dammit if you’re not stubborn.
You sling his arm over your shoulders and haul him up. You stagger and angle him against the side of the car as you shut the door. You fish your keys out and get them firmly in hand. You pull him away and make a slow advance towards the entrance.
You’re out of breath by the time you get to the elevator. You let him rest against the metal rail mounted on the wall and wait for your floor. You look at him, his cheeks flushed with alcohol, his eyes sleepy, lashes fluttering.
“You’re a fucking moron. You know that?” You mutter.
He mewls but you don’t expect he understands. The doors slide open and you get him to his feet again. You drag him, back aching, thighs burning. Down the endless halls, you rant.
“A spoiled fucking brat. You don’t deserve any of this. You are the worst person I’ve ever met. Repulsive and stupid and entitled.”
“Mmm, yeah, gimme more,” he mutters as you get him to your condo door. The remark is as close to lucid as he’s been.
“Shut up,” you sigh and unlock your door.
You get him inside and drop him onto the couch. His arm flies out and hits the coffee table. You put your hands on your hips and glare down at him. Great. That wine is staying corked.
“Tell me I’m a bad boy again,” he giggles as his head lolls and reaches to play with his messy hair, “please…”
You grimace and pull the throw blanket onto him. You back up and make sure the door is lock. You step out of your heels and stretch out your arms as you pass the couch again. He’s already snoring.
You can’t quite decide if you want him to choke on his own puke or not. A girl can always dream.

"Please, Lokes, pleaseee!" I looked at my husband with puppy eyes, who sat in his reading chair, nose buried in a book. It looked like it was Norwegian or Asgardian, but I couldn't really tell. My words attracted his attention, making him look up from his book; blue eyes meeting mine. "Please?" I tried again in a small voice, fluttering my eyelashes. "You really want to do this, don't you?" I nodded quickly. "Uh.Huh." He took a deep breath, was visibly not entirely convinced - yet. Okay, I thought. Time to bring the big guns in. Time for Plan B - or was it C already? I quickly snatched the book out of Loki's hands and laid it on the small table behind me. "Darling, what-" He cut off his own sentence when I climbed on his lap as seductively as possible and wrapped my arms around his neck, fingers buried in his dark curls. "Please..." I pouted and tried the puppy eyes again. This tactic usually always worked... Loki rolled his eyes and sighed. "Fine." Gotcha. "Yay!" I smiled brightly and placed a quick, sloppy kiss on his lips, before I stood up giggling. "I'll call Jane! And then we go, yes?" The God nodded, certainly not amused. "Yes." "Perfect." I rushed over to him to place a soft kiss on his cheek, before I went to make a phone call.
Thor and Jane had just become parents a few weeks ago, of a super cute baby girl, called Eisa. I fell already in love with my niece after the first picture Jane had sent, and now I desperately wanted to see her in person. Loki, unfortunately didn't share my enthusiasm for this all. Sure, he was happy for his brother and Jane, but... Nothing more, nothing less. He had admitted that he finds Eisa cute, but didn't breathe the wish to see her - unlike me. So, I tried to persuade him in the last few days to accompany me - successfully. Sure, I could've gone alone, but that would've been quite odd. An uncle who didn't want to get to know her niece? No. Luckily, I could convince him.
After everything was settled with Jane and Thor, I dragged Loki along to the car. Over the whole car ride, he wasn't in the best mood, always on the verge of sulking. "Lokes... Babe..." I placed my hand on his thigh, as we stood at a traffic light, having a moment to directly speak to him. "I know you are not the biggest fan of kids or babies, but... We are talking about your niece..." My husband sighed. "I know, darling, I know... It's just... Me and babies... It never worked before. I-I don't know how to..." He said, trailing off. "I know, Lokes... But I am sure you can do this. You are going to love her." I squeezed his thigh and gave him a sympathetic smile, before I had to focus back on the road.
About twenty minutes later, we reached the house of Thor, Jane and their newest family member. I parked the car and got out; Loki doing the same. After quickly locking and rounding the vehicle, I joined Loki, took his hand immediately in mine again and intertwined our fingers. Together we walked hand in hand to the main door. "Put on a smile for me, babe?" I gently nudged his side, giving him a smile. "Can I have a kiss in return?" He asked, smirking. I squinted my eyes, "Cheeky." but couldn't stay serious for even a second. A giggle left my lips, before I stood on my tiptoes, kissing him. No second later got the door opened by my brother-in-law, the biggest smile on his face I had ever seen. "Brother! Y/N! Come in, come in!" He quickly ushered us inside the house. Once the door was closed shut, I went immediately to hug Thor. "Congrats, again. I am really happy for you two." The big man hugged me back, of course, still smiling broadly. "Thank you." I squeezed him, then let go of Thor again. As for Loki, he just kind of awkwardly patted his brother's shoulder. "Uh, from me, uh.. too." Thor didn't mind at all that his brother acted quite awkwardly. He just pulled him in a hug as well. "Thank you so much, brother." Loki didn't expect that at all. He threw me a helpless and shocked gaze, but I just shrugged my shoulders and giggled. Loki may have acted awkward in that situation - or well in general, when it came down to his brother, but deep down he loved Thor with all his heart. I knew it. Thor knew it. And Loki knew it as well. He would just never admit it.
After Thor let go of Loki again and we had taken off our shoes, the God led us towards the living room. "Let's go, see the actual reason why you're here." He said, chuckling quietly. As we entered said room, my eyes landed immediately on Jane, who sat on the sofa with a small, pink, wrapped up bundle in her arms. Jane smiled brightly, when she saw us. "Heeey!" She whispered and waved at us. I reciprocated the smile on an instant and tiptoed as fast as possible over to her, hugging her halfway. "Hiiii!" I whispered back. "Congrats again. I am so happy for you and Thor." "Thank you."  After hugging Jane once again, my gaze landed immediately on the three-week-old baby girl in her mother's arms. That was the moment, when I fell even more in love. Eisa had her eyes closed, was deeply asleep. She had a small hand wrapped around Jane's finger, holding on for dear life. Her cheeks were chubby, but utterly sweet. Soft coos were leaving her tiny, pouty lips now and then. On her head was a tuft of blonde hair. She was cute as a button. "Aww..." I squeaked quietly. I tried desperately to contain myself, but that wasn't easy. It felt like my heart was full with rainbows and about to burst. "Loki, come here, have a look. Meet your niece." I said, looking back at my husband and signalled him to come closer. While I sat down beside Jane and Thor, Loki took hesitant steps closer. "She won't bite, I promise." I giggled softly, teasing him a bit in the hopes that this would loosen him up. As he was within reach, I grabbed once again his hand and pulled him gently closer. Loki gave Jane a nod, before he looked as well down at his niece. His eyes scanned the small face and body. "So?" I asked him, squeezing his hand. Loki nodded awkwardly, then sat down beside me. "Yes, she, uh, she is really cute." I saw how much Loki was struggling, but I also saw that he really tried. Thor and Jane exchanged a smile. "Would you like to hold her Y/N? Or you, Loki?" Jane asked, still in a hushed tone. I started to nod quickly. "Oh yes, please, please!" I was beyond excited about this. Jane smiled and moved Eisa slowly over into my arms. "I bet you know how to hold a baby?" "Yep, isn't the first," I said, looking at the brown-haired woman. "And hopefully not the last." She winked at me, making me blush slightly. I knew of course what she meant… I cradled my niece carefully in my arms, making sure to steady her small head. It was an amazing feeling to hold such a small, innocent life in my arms and once again, I fell even deeper in love with her. I just wasn't able to tear my eyes off of her... "Babe, look at those tiny fingers." I cooed and stroked with my pointer finger gently over Eisa's small hand. "And that snub nose." I booped her on the nose as softly as possible, to not wake her. And that was just the beginning... I spent minutes and minutes with just gushing over my niece…
"Guys, really... She is the cutest thing I have ever seen." I stated, looking at Thor and Jane. The two of them just smiled and agreed wholeheartedly with me. Loki on the other hand stayed utterly quiet. He acted very reticent and shy the whole time - what I could totally understand. I was already proud of him that he accompanied me to visit the little family. To that point in time, I had absolutely no clue what was about to happen. To be honest, nobody had expected this to happen. Absolutely nobody...
After half an hour or so, Thor excused himself. Therefore, that he was on laundry duty, he had to go - what was completely fine by us, of course. Then Jane excused herself as well. She had to pay the bathroom a visit, so it was Loki, Eisa and me left. Even if only for a short amount of time. "Lokes, my arms are getting a bit tired... Would you like to hold her a bit?" Loki's eyes widened. "I-I don't know, darling." "Why not? She isn't that heavy." "That's not what I meant... I-I don't know how to do that." He exclaimed, almost a bit panicky. "I never held a baby before. What if I can't do it? What if I hurt her or-" I understood Loki. I really did. But I also thought, that he would never bite the bullet on his free will, so I decided to give him a push. Without even letting him finish his sentence or saying a single word, I placed Eisa in his arms. "Love, what are you doing? I-I just told you that I don't know how to do this!" I smiled up at Loki. "But you're doing it, babe. Look." His eyes fell down in his arms, where the small girl laid, safe and sound. "Just make sure to support her head, when you shift her." Loki looked from his niece to me and back, seemingly speechless. "You're holding your niece, Lokes. And you're doing great." I smiled again and kissed his cheek. "This is, uh, this is..." "Amazing, right?" He blinked and halfway nodded. "Somehow, yes." But then, barely a minute after Eisa was in her uncle's arms, she started to get fussy, causing Loki to slightly panic again. "Oh no... W-What am I doing now, Y/N?" "Rock her a bit, but gently." He did what I said, rocked her gently. "Like that?" "Yes." I tried to soothe Eisa as well, but it didn't quite help. We both weren't really successful. To our luck rounded Eisa's mother shortly after the corner. "Jane, she's getting a bit fussy." I told her immediately, but she obviously needed a moment to grasp what she saw... Loki, God of Mischief, Son of Odin, the Trickster, mister 'I-can't-handle-babies', was holding her daughter in his arms. She blinked. "I, uh, I think she's hungry. It's been already almost two hours since the last time she ate. I'll prepare a bottle real quick." With that Jane vanished again. Her daughter started to get really fussy in the meantime. The baby girl had her eyes still closed shut - until now, but she was whimpering and whining continuously. But then her small eyes suddenly flew open, revealing a pair of stunning blue eyes meeting Loki's. Eisa instantly stopped her fussing for a moment, seemingly too surprised by the strange face hovering above her. The two of them stared at each other - and it almost was like the world had stopped around them. Just that one precious moment seemed to have triggered something in Loki. I really didn't know what it was, but suddenly there was a whole new version of the man I married sitting beside me. As soon as Eisa started to whine again and tears begun to form in her big blue eyes, Loki jumped immediately into action and tried to soothe her. "Hush, baby girl, it's alright. Don't cry." He once again started to rock her and stroked with his thumb ever so gently over her small, chubby cheek. I stared at my husband with an opened mouth, couldn't believe my eyes. What was that? What on earth had just happened? I couldn't think further about it, because Jane came back with a bottle in her hands. "Shall I take her and feed her or would one of you like to try and feed her?" She asked, looking from Loki towards me. "May I try to feed her?" Asked the God, surprising me and Jane. "Uhm, of course, sure. Here." Jane handed Loki the bottle. "Do you know how to-" The brown-haired woman cut off her own sentence, when she saw how Loki managed to feed Eisa perfectly. Gently, he brushed the tip of the bottle over the baby's lips, causing her to take the rubber tip into her mouth and starting to latch on it immediately.
After he was finished with feeding her, he kept on holding her against his chest, rocking her from time to time and softly spoke to her. Hence, he even carried her around. He acted like she was his daughter! On one hand, this made me absolutely giddy inside. I couldn't deny, that the sight of Loki interacting with a baby melted my heart completely. Within seconds, I was a puddle on the floor. My ovaries literally screamed at me - something about men and babies, but on the other hand... There stood suddenly a whole new man in front of me. Who was that man and what did he do to my husband?
As Loki was carrying Eisa around, through the big living room and the adjacent kitchen, Jane and I watched him in awe. He had the sleeves of his black shirt hitched up; his suit jacket long gone. His strong arms were holding the small infant tightly and securely, as he rocked her once again, trying to get her back to sleep, all the while whispering sweet nothings to her. I didn't hear exactly what he was saying, because spoke too quiet and was too far away. I was still literally staring at him, when I felt the sofa dip right beside me. Jane had slipped closer, was now leaning towards me. "Are... Are we both dreaming or is this-" She whispered and gestured towards Loki and her child. "Actually really happening?" "Trust me, I pinched myself several times and I can certainly say that we are not dreaming this. But please don't ask me where this is coming from, 'cause I don't know..." Jane begun to smile. "Well... I think Eisa must've enchanted him..." I smiled as well. "Think so, too..." Then the brown-haired woman started to giggle quietly, nudging my side with her elbow. "And you said having babies with Loki is to 100 per cent off the table." I shrugged my shoulders. "Well, in my defence... I didn't see that coming. I didn't know that a single moment would be enough to turn the tables..." "Good point."
About an hour later, we had bid our goodbye's and were now back on the road towards our home. I didn't want to stay too long and give the little family private time. After all, was Eisa barely three weeks old, so Thor and Jane didn't quite accustom yet completely to the new situation they were in. So, I didn't want to annoy them too long.
I sat in the driver seat of the car, with Loki beside me and was still completely in shock and awe about what happened earlier. And let me tell you... I almost had to drag him away from his niece... She had her uncle entirely wrapped around her tiny fingers; literally had swept him off of his godly feet – within not even a minute…
"Y/N?" Loki suddenly spoke up. Our car ride had been very quiet so far. "Mhh?" "I want a baby." I hit the brakes immediately. What? His words hit me like a truck, caught me completely off-guard and caused my eyes to widen. "I beg you pardon... You want what?" "I want to have a baby - with you." I blinked rapidly. My brain couldn't believe what my ears just heard. "You want a baby? With me?" He crossed his arms over his chest. "No, with the sexy blonde girl from the second floor… Of course with you! I would never want a baby with a woman who isn't you! What are you thinking, darling?" I was still just staring at him. "Can we have one? Please? Just imagine how utterly sweet a mix out of me and you would look! Darling, we'd make the prettiest babies!" Loki looked at me with puppy eyes. "I-I-I..." I didn't get more words out in that moment. I was way too shocked… Suddenly his expression shifted, turned into a mischievous smirk. He took my hand in his and leaned over, getting closer towards me. "Can we make one now?" My husband said in the most seductive tone I had ever heard, before he captured my lips with his, kissing me ferociously. His hand started to wander; dangerously close to the hem of my t-shirt. Loki was on the verge of slipping his hand underneath the piece of clothing, when my brain finally caught up. I quickly ended the kiss and shoved his hand away. "Woah there! Hang on for a second and keep it in your pants!" Loki pouted. "But why, darling?" "Because two hours ago you didn't even want to meet your niece – who is a baby, and now you're asking me to have one with you?! Right now?!" He sighed. "Yes, I know, love, but... I don't know… When Eisa looked at me with those big, blue eyes, it was like... a magic moment." My gaze softened. "And that's wonderful, Lokes, it really is, but... Having a baby is a serious topic. You don't just rush into this, you know? A child is a life changing thing. You have to be clear about this and be sure that you really want it." Once again, those puppy eyes. "But... I am sure, love. I really want this." "Okay, Lokes..." I took a deep breath. His enthusiasm scared me a bit, honestly... "Let's talk about this in peace, yes? We are going to think this through and then we talk over the weekend again, okay?" Loki nodded. "Of course, whatever you wish, my queen." I nodded as well. "Good." Then I took another breath, before I set the car back into motion. I still couldn't believe that I just had this conversation with Loki... "But that isn't a 'no', right?" "It's not a 'no', yes..." I answered cautiously and witnessed from the corner of my eyes how he started to smile. "But it isn't a yes either!" I quickly added. Loki just continued to smile. "That's correct, but I am very certain that you do want this. You are talking more often about babies than you notice, darling." I frowned. "Do I?" "Mhm." "Well... Like I said, we'll see..."
a/n: This could be a two-parter, couldn't it?
