Loki, despite his protests, was acclimatising very well to Midgardian life. He liked the clothes, much more comfortable and practical, he found the food interesting, sweets were great and he could no longer pretend to hate the Midgardian's themselves. Your hedonism as a race was something to behold. Besides he had met and married you within 18 months so any following complaints were met with stoic silence and you pointing at your ring finger.
Despite all these things. The funny TV adverts, all night off licences and take away food there was one thing that Loki was having real trouble with.
Not being royal.
Although most of the village still paid due reverence to his presence, especially as his magic remained, he wasn't a Prince and it irked him. Thor hadn't cared when he gave up the throne and it's not that Loki had wanted it, it seemed like an awful lot of work, he just wanted to be Royal. Special.
Now he was no longer Loki Laufeyson, Prince of Asgard, God of Mischeif, rightful heir of Jotunheim... he was just Loki. And the final tragedy was, he never got to make you a Princess as you truly deserved. A Goddess, even if just by association.
"Lo? You in here?" Your voice called through the cottage. He generally despised the nickname, but from you? It sounded like perfect.
"In here!" He called back. Midgardians, so uncouth. You opened the door, not really looking at him stood at the foot of your bed, and grabbed your handbag, and turning to go again before a flash of gold caught your eye.
"Loki?" You span round and faced him properly, his height excentuated by the cloak at his back, the tall gold horns adoring his neatly styled black hair and the leather clinging to every muscle and sinew of his lithe body.
"My darling?"
"I see you've decided how you'd like to play for your anniversary present. Not this again," you rolled your eyes dramatically while you tried to keep your composure, always taken aback by the sheer force of Loki's presence in his formal attire. If you were going to spend the evening paying court to him, then he deserved a little teasing beforehand.
"Indeed," he took a long stride towards you, holding out a hand to take yours. You bobbed a little curtsey ready to end all your evening plans for this exciting development. You'd certainly complain and tease first, but you always enjoyed your husbands filthy plans.
"My Prince," you smiled, dipping your head to avert your eyes as any good...chamber maid? Hand maiden? Would, it didn't really matter who you were, little wench or servant. It all amounted to the same, you'd be on your knees before he could ever ask, every time.
But not tonight.
"Princesses do not kneel," he commanded, his voice booming and hand tight around yours keeping you upright.
Oh. A Princess? A shimmer of light surrounded you, your boots, jeans, top and handbag vanished with a flourish to be replaced with a flowing ballgown of deep, forest green. Loki smiled, holding back his grin, trying to remember his courtly smile instead. You looked...devastating. A lucky thing he didn't meet you at court or he would have run away with you and lost his title regardless.
He dropped a toe back to bow deeply, savouring your little gasp of pleasure at the luxurious fabric now wrapped around your body.
"Princess, may I have this dance?" He enquired politely, and through you were in your low ceilinged cottage bedroom you, the glint in his eyes made you feel as if you were in the towering ballrooms of Asgard.
You nodded though there was precious little room to dance in. He placed your hands delicately on his body, scooping you close and nudging your silk slippered feet with his own leather boots to make them move the right way.
In return, you giggled, leaning into his chest despite the cold leather and metal, seeing comfort in the beat of his heart and the familiar feeling of his warm chest. He let his cheek rest against the top of your head, breathing you in and peppering soft kisses in your hair. Layered as you both were it was still hard to ignore Loki's growing arousal with each half spin of your failed waltz.
Eagerly you snuggled closer, attempting to lead the dance towards your bed.
"Princess, you know we must not engage in such lewd behaviour while we're still only betrothed," he whispered in your ear.
Ah so this was the game, lust pooled between your legs, heating you from the inside out. A forbidden love, and yet he was here in your bedroom. A delicate, coy, smile curved your lips upwards just a little.
"Only betrothed? But, my Prince," you bit your lip, batting your eyelashes flirtatiously, "I need you now!"
"Well. If you need me, perhaps there's another way I could please my betrothed?" He backed you slowly towards the bed, guiding you to sit at the edge and then falling to his own knees before you.
If only the rest of the village could see him now. Kneeling before you despite his regal appearance.
The golden helmet vanished in a green flash and so did Loki's mop of black hair in a flurry of green and black tulle. His lips finding the soft, ticklish edge of your knee before moving upwards.
"Oh! Lo!" In all of the layers of ballgown you hadn't really noticed your lack of underwear, until now, until your once royal husband was buried beneath those layers, two fingers deep inside of you, his tongue on your clit.
He pressed his fingers into your thighs, holding you steady as he twisted his other hand, fingers bending and rubbing against the soft, deep little spot inside of you that made you make Loki's favourite noise.
"Loki, LOKI, L-" you fell back against the bed in a cloud of silk, your orgasm rippling through your body, making your body strain against the tight confines of the bodice of your dress.
Loki appeared again, standing to his full height before flicking a neat handkerchief out of his pocket and dabbing his mouth ostentatiously.
"Are you ready, we'll miss our reservations?" He asked, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth as his royal attire replaced itself with a neat black suit.
"You fucking kidding me?" You huffed, riding out your high with deep panting breaths.
His smile became fond and, as he pulled you from the bed, the dress changed too, not the clothes you had chosen before but, a little black dress, tailored to fit perfectly, silk shoes still hugging your feet.
"You look regal my Princess," he kissed the top of your head again and led you out, still giddy and glowing.

Since the Loki show keeps appearing on my dash I want to tell you all what I would have done if given an opportunity to write for such a great character as Loki.
For one, I would get rid of the selfcest. No doppleganger genderbent love here.
Instead, I would delve into the myths. Do you have any idea how interesting the fact they're the Norse gods are? And how canon just ignores that. Like, I'm pretty sure it's stated that they were born relatively early, so they're born after the myths were created. How does that work? Are they named after those gods? What is Asgard? What are the 9 realms. How did Thor get the asgardians from Asgard all the way to earth without a bifrost? What was his plan there?
See, because it's interesting. Before, we were told the only way to travel the 9 was through the bifrost. The bifrost is basically a realm doorway, and without it people can't travel the 9. So how was thor going to get his people to earth? It makes sense that Loki was on that ship because he knows how to travel between the gaps. He shows us it in the Dark World. I want to explore that.
Loki is a character that knows so much more than he's letting on. If I were going to make a show I want him pursuing knowledge he doesn't already have. I want him asking questions about midgard, about where they got these myths from and exploring the power behind the name of Loki.
Like, just imagine if he wasn't the original Loki. (I'm basically outing myself here but I wrote a cringe worthy fic ages ago about something similar to this. Do not look it up. It is in a shameful ship I no longer associate with. I went down a rabbit hole and, well, those days are behind me.) BUT! If he is the real Loki, or if he isn't then I want him exploring his Jotun heritage. Giants in almost every mythology are more than just these big guys that are taller than us. A lot of the time they're basically the essence of something. There are giants that make up the sea, the mountains, like the mountains are literal giants. We could have had that explored. Is Loki an ice giant? What does an Ice giant mean? How do his powers come into this?
I want him finding the very fates themselves and asking these questions. Asking why he was made to play this role and why he's doomed to do it in almost every timeline, every universe. Is it predestined? Why do the midgardians know about Ragnarok? Why do they know about Hela before Loki and Thor do? Where do the Vanir come into this? Where are the other key players in Ragnarok and how can Loki stop it and actually be a hero in his own show?
I would have explored so much of this and I hate that Disney isn't. Quite frankly I think they've wasted the multiverse idea on a character that had a lot more going for him than this. And the truth is they aren't even doing the multiverse right.
anyway marvel I would be more than happy to retcon your current loki show and write a new one for you.

So, about Loki and Sylvie’s dynamic in Episode 2…
This episode was hard to watch. It’s painful to see these two characters who we know love each other wrestle with such deep-seated issues in their relationship. The gap between expectations and reality for their reunion scene, what we hoped it would be vs. what we got, is pretty glaringly huge.
It’s interesting to think about how most of the reunion fics people have been writing for the past two years have been variations of the same thing: Loki searching endlessly for Sylvie out in the multiverse, finally finding her and welcoming her back with open arms; Sylvie, tentative and rageful at first, but eventually breaking down in tears and melting into his embrace. We all wanted a big, emotional moment for them, full of kisses and hugs and apologies and “I love you”s. What we got instead was awkward tension and a lack of vulnerability from both parties.
That sad part is, this is just what happens in human relationships sometimes. Sometimes you can’t resolve everything with one conversation. Sometimes fear, insecurities, pride, or just poorly timed interruptions keep us from mending what’s been broken between us and the people we love.
But, there’s still a reason that we wanted to see the reunion scene play out this way, à la Hosea and Gomer or the prodigal son returning home after wasting his father's money. We long to see forgiveness and repentance play out in relationships, because that’s what unconditional love looks like. That’s how the conversation should have gone, and would have gone if these weren’t flawed, complex characters that we’re dealing with. Sylvie should be feeling remorse for what she’s done. Loki should be prioritizing Sylvie’s emotional well-being above his own needs. Under the surface, I think that that’s exactly what’s happening. But neither of them are vocalizing it properly, and that’s what’s creating the tension.
Sylvie, I think, is clearly in the wrong. I say that as the biggest Sylvie stan ever, so hear me out. Her actions and anger towards the TVA have always been completely, 100% justified, but she’s being really short-sighted at the moment. She thinks she can settle down in her own timeline and forget about everything, but sooner or later the consequences of her actions are going to come back to haunt her.
If you think about it, killing HWR didn’t really do that much to free the timeline. The TVA didn’t even know that HWR existed, and he seemed to be running everything on autopilot. If Sylvie had made it all the way to the citadel by herself, without ever meeting Loki or Mobius, the TVA might very well have just continued to prune branches and hunt her down, with no real knowledge of what happened behind the curtain.
The real reason the TVA stopped coming after Sylvie is because Mobius and B15 put out an order to stop pruning branches. While Loki and Sylvie were making their way to the citadel, they were down in the TVA changing hearts and minds, transforming it from the inside out. That’s not to diminish what Sylvie did - after all, it was her fighting spirit that inspired the change in the first place. But in a roundabout way, Loki is really the one who set her free from her life on the run. He was the bridge between her and the TVA, the one who brought her story and the all evils of the TVA to the light. It’s really his influence that has made her new life on the timeline possible, but she doesn’t comprehend this yet. She can’t, with all of her unhealed trauma. In her mind, she’s her own hero. She saved herself.
It’s interesting to note that when Loki asks her what she’ll do if HWR shows up again, her answer is, “Kill him”, with that smug little smirk on her face. This has been Sylvie's go-to solution for all her problems ever since we met her. Minute men chasing her down? Kill them. Timekeepers trying to control her destiny? Kill them. Clown interrupts her plan to kill said time keepers? Kill him. Weird man in a purple robe trying to take away everyone’s free will? You guessed it: kill him. What she doesn’t realize, though, is that this mindset makes her no different from the corrupt TVA agents she hates so much. People making choices that lead to chaos and multiversal war? Prune them. In other words, kill them. Loki’s love for Sylvie, and his friendship with Mobius, has taught him that life has value, and now he’s doing everything he can to protect it through the TVA. But this isn’t a lesson that Sylvie has learned yet. She’s only thinking about the value of her own life - not the lives of others. Not really. Not yet.
Also, how happy could she really be in her little 1980s McDonalds world? Yes, she's experiencing stability for the first time in her life, and don't get me wrong, Homegirl totally deserves the chance to rest and live a normal life for a little while. But, at the same time, how many people in her new timeline could ever really, truly understand the life she’s lived? She deserves to have people like Loki, Mobius, B15, Casey and OB in her life: fellow variants who can relate, on some level, to the trauma that she’s been through. She deserves the chance to explore and embrace her Asgardian heritage, her Jotun heritage, even. With Loki in particular, she has the opportunity to be in a relationship where she is fully known in every way possible, seeing as he’s literally a masculine version of herself. She deserves that kind of intimacy in her life, and it won’t be long before that lack of connection starts to leave her lonely again. She may say that she’s not running from anything, but she is. She’s running from herself, from her own story.
Loki’s not off the hook, either. He made some major missteps in the way he approached this conversation. It really should have been his responsibility to lead with love and prioritize Sylvie’s emotions over his own. And while I think he tried to do that… he failed pretty miserably.
I have a suspicion that he was disappointed, a little hurt, even, when he learned about Sylvie’s new life on the timeline. Afterall, they had kinda made plans to do that together when all was said and done. It probably stung to learn that not only was she ok without him, she was also happy and thriving in her new life. This is honestly the hardest part of learning how to love someone selflessly. You tell yourself that you want what’s best for them, but… can you accept it if “what’s best for them” has nothing to do with whether or not you are an active part of their life?
A lot of Loki’s desperation to find Sylvie in the first episode is fueled by uncertainty–not knowing where she is and wanting to make sure she’s ok. When he learns about her new life, a lot of that urgency goes away. But, he still wants to see her, and he feels like he needs a “reason” for it. So, he hides behind his encounter with her in the elevator as his way in.
What Loki should have done in this moment was be vulnerable with her. He should have asked her how she was. He should have told her the real reason he came: because he loves her and wants to fix things between them (and also protect her from an impending multiversal war, but that’s a conversation for later). He got this so right when he threw himself under her blade at the citadel, holding her gently and assuring her that he knew how she felt. But sincerity and truth-telling, vulnerability, are all still new to him, and while he’s not hiding his feelings anymore, you can tell he’s still struggling to express them.
He’s too in his own head during their conversation. Her cold attitude and the time limit she’s placed on the talk have left him scrambling for words, so instead, he chooses to put up his own walls rather than chip away at hers. He tells her about what he saw in the future and asks her for information. He starts talking about TVA business and multiversal wars (the absolutely last thing she wants to hear about) and tries to force his viewpoint on her again rather than actually trying to clear the air.
They both have so far to go to reconcile their relationship, and it's tough to watch. It makes me miss their bond in season 1, their playful banter and the inherent sweetness of their honeymoon phase. Is it possible that they’re drifting apart intentionally, that they won’t end up together in the end? Yeah, sure. Marvel doesn’t really have a great track record for ending romances on a positive note. But I really hope that all the angst is building towards something satisfying in the end. It is, after all, only episode 2. We’ve got the whole rest of the season to go!

Infinity war death is better because he did it for thor. Tree loki never made amends with thor. Why cwnt loki have both his friends and his brother
Interesting
If you’re asking me if I think he deserves to have both his brother and his friends, then I would respond emphatically: YES
Without question or hesitation.
Loki deserves to live. He deserves happiness and satisfaction. Loki deserves to love, and to be loved in return. He deserves his brother, and he deserves his friends.
Loki’s sacrifice is valid in both. I don’t disagree with you there. But his death was badly written in Infinity War and thus the execution seemed a poor reflection of his character…or at the very least incomplete.
He sacrificed himself for Thor, yes, and that intent is such a worthy sacrifice. But the way Loki’s skills and abilities were so underutilized by the writing did such a disservice to his character.
In reality, Loki is probably more scrappy and definitely more resourceful than that. He’s smart/clever enough to know better than to reveal himself to Thanos without a backup plan (or more).
And Loki would NOT go out without a fight. A real fight. He would use every ounce of his power, every tool in his arsenal, everything remotely at his disposal to do as much damage as he could in what time he had. He would fight and fight and fight even if (and especially if) he knew he had no chance at making it out alive.
Thanos was intended to be menacing but Loki is far stronger than he was given credit for in that scene and his death was used merely as a plot device…they killed Loki off so easily in that opening scene as a way to demonstrate Thanos’ power and establish him as a real threat. That’s all.
They reduced what should’ve been a meaningful sacrifice to save the life of his brother down to a pitiable demonstration of the lengths he’s willing to go to to protect those he loves.
Thor’s life and countless others were at stake and Loki would fight tooth-and-nail to protect Thor’s life. If he knew he would die regardless, Loki would try to inflict whatever impairment he was able to the slow his enemy down or cause them as much of a handicap as he is able.
What I like about LOKI’s ending is how Loki was shown to withstand the time radiation without even the use of a suit. It was reminiscent of Thor taking the full power of a dying star. He’s able to do that because he isn’t human; he’s the only person on that Team (save for Sylvie maybe) who could make that play.
I think the point you’re trying to make is that Loki sacrificing himself for Thor is objectively more impactful to the audience than him saving the multiverse? Because at least that way he showed his brother that he loved/cared for him?
I definitely agree I wish we’d gotten to see Thor and Loki’s story get closure, but I knew having Thor make a cameo on the series was pretty much impossible. It would be more satisfying to fans of the characters to see them reunite/ make amends/ etc.
I don’t disagree. At all.
That’s part of what makes his sacrifice that much more heart-wrenching. It’s very Shakespearean and it’s tragic, and it’s not the happy ending I think Loki deserves…but it is fitting in the sense that Loki chose to sacrifice himself.
He does that a lot, actually. He’s a very self-sacrificial character
Loki’s desire to be loved/have friends/not be alone is constantly at war with his intense passion/ love and need to give and give and GIVE of himself to make that a reality.
It breaks my heart that Loki will never get reconciliation with his brother, that Thor will go on never knowing what happened to his brother, with the last memory of him being the Attack on New York. This hurts, it’s heartbreaking…but despite that, Loki ultimately did make the sacrifice play so those he loved (that includes Thor) would be able to live even if that means never seeing any of them again.
He is incredibly selfless by resigning himself to an eternity of isolation to sustain the lives of those he loves.
Despite the tragic nature of his ending, I think it’s also kind of beautiful.

Sorry i was referring to ur post hating on how mobius called loki a man of action. Why can't loki be also a man of action he grew up around THOR. Also maybe its a new thing loki is letting show instead of being cautious. He is the god of mischief and chaos after all
Ok ive taken a couple of days to have a think and give you a proper answer.
In short, because it's lazy and lets the writers avoid having to write loki with any consistent character traits.
Long answer below the cut
I have a lot of semi connected thoughts about this and this post might end up a bit of a ramble, uh so sorry i guess.
I think it's important to remember that loki as a marvel character has existed since the 1960s, and thus has 60 or so years of characterisation already there. Over the years this has varied a bit due to many different writers and their different visions for their stories, but they tend to stay fairly consistent. Loki is a villian (or is perceived as one by others), he plans elaborate schemes usually with the end goal of the destruction of asgard and/or thor, and he tends to play the long game. In short, he's been consistently characterised as a much more methodical and yes, cerebral character than thor.
In addition, theres 11 years of specifically mcu loki characterisation, which was originally constructed from the loki we see in the comics. This is the baseline of mcu lokis character, and thus should still be there in other stories and adaptations.
What's actually interesting to me though, is that loki HAS been shown as a man of action before. In Thor 2011. Specifically at the end of the movie, after his entire life has fallen apart at the seams and he's in the middle of an emotional breakdown. His actions get more impulsive as the movie progresses, and it ends with him trying to destroy Jotunheim, goading thor into an argument and a huge fight, then letting go of the bifrost and falling to his assumed death.
What makes this work and still feel in character is that lokis impulsive and reckless desicions come from his emotional instability. The viewer gets to see his facade break and watch him deteriorate from slowly and meticulously planning to ruin thors coronation and stop him from taking the throne, to deciding on the spur of the moment to point the bifrost at Jotunheim and, afterwards, decide to let go of gungnir and plummet into the void (i love this movie so much can you tell).
All of this really is to say that loki CAN be reckless and impulsive just like thor. It just has to be well written and considered. And season one of the show very much was Not That.
With the gift of hindsight, it's been very clear that the writers of season one were not interested in maintaining any of lokis previous characterisation and, given what we've seen so far in the trailer, im not exactly holding out hope that season two will be any different.
The last thing i wanna mention is that the way you phrased your ask, with loki deciding himself to become less cautious, is quite interesting to me. Im sure you dont need me to tell you that loki isnt real, hes a fictional character and thus has no autonomy of his own. Every thought, word and action was a deliberate decision from the writers and actors creating these stories (often with their own preconceptions and biases of the character subconsciously thrown in). What im trying to get at is that ultimately, loki as a character is a vehicle for telling an aspect of a story. And it's the writers job to tell that story well. And if loki suddenly has a change of heart and decides to start acting the complete opposite of his former self, the writers should have a damn good reason for choosing to do that. Otherwise, it's just poorly written. And frankly i dont want to watch a poorly written show.
Whoops this was way longer than i intended im so sorry anyways i hope this answers your question about why i wrote a silly post about a throwaway line in a trailer for a show im probably not even going to watch. Probably.

💀🥘🕹️🎻🎒🔮 for don, dominic, pascal, and juliette :D
💀: Enemies or Rival
don: nobody, i don't think don is the type of sim that makes enmities, i mean maybe people who find out he had 218372 affairs while woohooing with them will hate him and consider him an enemy but he genuinely doesn't care
dominic: THE WATCHER and loki for being circe's husband
pascal: loki and circe for nervous reasons
juliette: nobody she doesn't care about the feud so she doesn't have enemies or rivals and yes i ignore that she consider bianca her enemy cause for me that never made sense???? she is literally dating romeo how is she going to care about the feud and have enmities with some monty
🥘: Favourite Food
don: he apparently has italian ancestry, according to the names of his parents and grandparents, so i think spaghetti and more home-cooked foods which he unfortunately hasn't eaten in a long time
dominic: lobster and other things rich villains would eat
pascal: anything jenny cooks cause i think she is a great cook and she learned everything she knows from kitty, so whenever pascal eats jenny's food he remembers his mother and his childhood<3
juliette: she loves isabella's baked alaska whenever isabella makes it, romeo keeps a piece and takes it to juliette secretly so they can eat together on some secret date
🕹️: Video Games they like or Play
don: idk he looks someone who likes to play fifa
dominic: he doesn't have time to play video games, his evil plans to control minds and beat the watcher waste all his free time
pascal: he likes old video games and games like zelda and mario and stuff but pascal's real passion is good old fashioned chess
juliette: THE OFFICIAL GAMER GIRL juliette definitely has a twitch stream channel and she plays overwatch and stuff that gamers play idk what im not a gamer but SHE IS a gamer it's her true hobby
🎻: Musical instrument
don: he plays acoustic guitar is something very seductive and turn on many sims i wish we have an acoustic guitar on ts2 i'll look for cc later
dominic: piano obviously a villain isn't a real villain if there isn't a piano in the living room
pascal: he's not very good with musical instruments
juliette: she looks like someone who participates in the school orchestra actually consort kind of forced the three siblings to participate in the orchestra so juliette plays the clarinet there
🎒: University Major
don: biology
dominic: biology
pascal: physics
juliette: maybe drama? or literature idk
🔮: Something Random
don: ummmm i have several things about don cause i like him a lot and i don't really like how people see him sometimes, i mean, everyone interprets him the way they want, but anyway, first about don x cassie, don genuinely likes cassie a lot and i like to think they met during college and that their story is genuine, like, no interest in the goths money, anyway, he likes cassie so much and thats why he broke off their engagement, cassandra is a family sim, she wants to get married and have her own family, but don isn't like that, and he couldn't make cassie happy, cause he wants to be free, he wants to have fun, meet new people etc but even though he is very smart (he is a doctor, and to study to be a doctor you have to be smart) he's kind of dumb when it comes to feelings so instead of ending the engagement in a civilized way he decided to do it right away and left cassie at the altar lmao oh and there is also that hc that don is a pediatrician who was circulating around these times i love this hc and i agree sm, don really likes children and if he is a father he will be a very nice father, even not living in the same house, he will do his best to be present in his child's life
dominic: i'll be honest with you i couldn't think of anything about dominic lmaoooo i think he's already a very developed character in his own and i really like him a lot but idk i couldn't think of anything lol im sorry
pascal: pascal is the best father in the world seriously if there was a competition between simnation's fathers pascal would definitely win and he always goes to all the parties, meetings etc that happen at tycho's school and he is super friendly with all the teachers and other parents and also with tycho's friends
juliette: for me shakespeare is something that actually exists in the sims universe and veronaville is kind of a funny coincidence but whenever juliette is with romeo she makes him swear they'll never fake their own death or anything like the original r+j did and end up dead just to be together and romeo always laughs about it

Loki One Shot
Hi! Can you do a loki x reader one shot where loki didn't die in infinity war cos reader saved him and he's starting to like her afterwards
Tumblr media
Everything had happened so quickly. One moment you and the rest of the population of Asgard were on the ship, praising Thor, the new King, for saving everyone, the next the ship was overrun by Thanos and his 'children'.
You were born and raised on Asgard, your family nowhere noble in the least but favored by Odin and Frigga nonetheless and made to be aids to the throne.
Even with you being a bit younger than them, you grew up with Thor and Loki, learning from them and getting in trouble along side them just as much.
While everyone praised Thor for his accomplishments as well as expecting him to ascend to the throne one day, your eye was always on Loki.
"There is just something about him."
You would say to your friends when they would tease you about being in love with him, you always playing it off as admiration, which was true enough.
You were nowhere near as powerful as Loki but your powers were impressive nonetheless.
When you were no older than three years old, you began to show promise in the world of precognition. In other words, you could see the future.
Loki had always been impressed by your talents, even coming to you when he needed help with one of schemes.
As you got older, your feelings for him only deepened, even after everything he had done, you just couldn't shake it.
And now, here you were, your home destroyed, taking refuge on a ship that was now being taken over by a force set on distruction.
"There are two more stones on earth, find them my children and bring them to me on Titan."
"Father we will not fail you."
"If I might interject, if you're going to Earth, you might want a guide. I do have a bit of experience in that arena."
Loki walked from behind some wreckage where the two of you had been hidden.
"If you consider failure experience."
"I consider experience, experience. Almighty Thanos, I Loki, Prince Of Asgard, Odinson, the rightful king of Jotunheim, god of mischief, do hearby pledge to you, my undying fidelity."
As Loki spoke,  you saw the dagger appear in his hand just out of view to Thanos.
As Loki lunged the blade towards Thanos' neck, he was stopped by the newest stone he has collected.
"Undying? You should choose your words more carefully"
Thanos grabs Loki's arm, twisting it so the dagger falls out of his hand to the ground. He then grabs Loki by the neck, lifting him off the ground as Loki struggles helplessly to break free.
"You...will never be...a God."
Were the last words he says before Thanos crushes his neck, killing him and throwing him down in front of Thor who is being held.
Your mind comes back to the present just as Loki begins to offer his services to Thanos.
Rembering what is about to happen, you carefully make a move from your hiding spot and towards Loki.
Just as the dagger appears in his hand, you rush forward and take it from him, startling both Loki and Thanos equally.
Before Thanos can go after you or him, Loki grabs your hand and teleports off the ship and to what you can only guess is a safehouse of some kind, somewhere on Earth.
"Why would you do that? What were you thinking? He would have killed you!"
As soon as you had reached your destination, Loki was yelling at you, furious at you for ruining his master plan.
"No Loki, he would have killed you! I saw it happen. With even just the two stones he has, he is more powerful than any other being in any galaxy! You would never have gotten the blade near his skin and I couldn't just let you die!"
You screamed back at him, your emotions uncontrollable as the premonition from before replays in your mind again.
"So you risked your life to save mine? Why? Why would you do something so incredibly careless and stupid? You know what I have done. If Thanos would have killed me it would have been retribution for everything I have done in the past. I was willing to give my life to at least try and save everyone else. Why did you stop me?"
For the first time in a long time you saw something only very few people had seen in Loki before, sincerity.
"How is it stupid and careless to save someone you love?"
The last word came out as a whisper, you finally admitting what you had spent so long trying to deny.
"What?"
His head shoots up to to look at you.
"When you have faked your death before, each time I mourned, kicked myself for not saying the one thing I longed to say to you. But in the back of my mind, I had always had hope that you would come back, that it was another trick and it always was."
You stopped to take a deep breath, trying and failing to keep your emotions in check as you speak.
"What I saw tonight, it would have been real, you wouldn't have come back. You would have just been gone and I couldn't let it happen. I love you Loki. I have always loved you."
Realization hit him like a bullet as every single question as to why you constantly came to his defense or helped with was of his schemes was now answered.
He wonders how he could have missed it. How could the truth that was so clearly in front of him, be so lost on him?
You had always been there. Always ready to drop everything to help him.
You were never seen in any sort of romantic relationship, never even showed interest in one. Not that you weren't perused, you actually had many suitors in your time, all of which you had turned down without even a true answer as to why.
It had always intrigued Loki and now he knew the truth.
You watched as your revelation swirls in Loki's head.
As the minutes pass, you begin to plan your escape route, wanting nothing more than to run away and never look back.
"Y/N, wait."
Just as you reach the door, Loki grabs your arm.
"Loki, just forget I said anything ok? You are the Prince Of Asgard and who am I? No one. If it weren't for my parents being aids to the thrown, you wouldn't even know me. You wouldn't even.."
He stops you, taking your face in his hands.
"I wouldn't be alive. You aren't no one, Y/N. Not to me."
With that, he kisses you.
It was gentle but the passion behind it was felt through your whole body.
"Loki..."
The kiss ends and you look into his eyes, searching for an answer to the question you can't quite get out.
"I should have seen it before. I should have known. I'm so sorry it took me this long. I love you too, Y/N."
You smile with happy tears as he wraps his arm around your waist and pulls you closer to him, kissing you again.

... All right, let’s do this.
Under the cut bc there’s SO MANY images, and I’m sorry, and I know the cut is worthless to mobile users but, well, here we are. Please don’t unfollow me for this post specifically.
Tumblr media
^^ I can’t decide if this woman holding the Tesseract is impressive or not bc, I mean, she’s wearing a glove - but, Red Skull probably was, too? Also the TVA are obviously not humans, so “impressive” may be generous. On the other hand, “only beings of enormous power” can wield the Tesseract/infinity stones, so.
Loki looks pissed.
Tumblr media
“I know what this place is.” I like this, bc it provides us with some narrative evidence that Loki has always known much more about the universe and How Things Work than anyone cared to realize. Loki’s always known what’s going on; that he isn’t ignorant to the existence or inner functions of the TVA feels in-character.
Tumblr media
Inception!
Lokiception!
Tumblr media
Why does every shot of the TVA’s headquarters look like the inside of a poorly-lit DMV? Though I guess it fits with the “timelessness” of it all as, after all, time ceases to exist or have meaning once you enter the DMV.
Tumblr media
But I digress.
Tumblr media
I’ve already remarked on the “I’m smart” comment, but I do like this shot.
Tumblr media
I really love what Loki’s hair is doing here, I don’t even care. For better or for worse, his hair’s doing it’s own all-natural thing and I dig it. Let it move, let it dance, let it fall into his face and obscure his features as fanfic has allowed so many times.
Tumblr media
I’m not a fan of the exaggerated jump or “wtf” expression along with “this is absurd” but THIS moment? Classic Loki. He looks 500% done and we’re only 51 seconds in. Also, I refuse to believe that stack of papers is everything Loki’s ever said. I know we all complained about the “you love to talk” line but, I mean, certainly he’s said more than approximately the total sum of Ulysses in his 1000 years of existence.
Tumblr media
Here’s what I want to know:
1. How does Loki taking the Tesseract result in so many new timeline branches? Surely he’s only responsible for one new timeline? I really, really hope they address that this is all the Avengers’ fault.
2. What timeline is WandaVision and TFatWS taking place in? The main one, I presume? How do we know it’s not one of these alternate ones?
3. Which timeline is Agents of SHIELD in and will they be addressed? Bc they got up to all kinds of Time Shenanigans in seasons 5, 6, and 7 to the point where I’m pretty sure they split off into their own universe (which is why they weren’t affected by the Snap or that whole thing, or so I’ve heard). If Loki crosses paths with Coulson & crew, I may pee my pants.
4. So where does Jessica Jo - ah, forget it, I’m not even going to ask.
Tumblr media
I wonder what it is about this “unique Loki perspective” that Mobius is interested in recruiting. (Incidentally, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Owen Wilson in, like, a real role - wherein he’s not playing some version of Owen Wilson, that is. He’s got a costume and everything here. Fun to see!)
Tumblr media
This is a bamf shot, okay. The way it’s framed is pretty intimidating.
Tumblr media
“You listen well, brother -”
“I’m listening.”
^^ I figured out what kind of energy this moment has, lmao.
Tumblr media
“It’s adorable that you think you can manipulate me.” I mean, do I even have to comment? I am here for narratively validating the “Loki is ten steps ahead” (heh, and I quote) canon. Here’s another place where I feel like Tom was involved, since I’m pretty sure that somewhere, he’s literally said “Loki’s always ten steps ahead of everyone else.”
That said, I’m not crazy about the delivery of this line; the over-confident tone of it smacks of “here’s someone about to get knocked the fuck off their pedestal” and I’m not here for that.
That said, these next scenes -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- not only show Loki with the upper hand but, also, it’s clear that Loki goes rogue at some point, possibly early on, and I do like that. Drag me if you will, but I want to see Loki scheming and being manipulative, in his own interests.
I think that Loki being the protagonist will allow them to portray his manipulation in a way that the audience is on his side. I don’t think that the TVA is being framed as the “reliable narrator” through which the audience should view Loki, or “good guys” at all; I think that maybe they’re not evil, but there’s probably a lot of morally-grey shenanigans and goings-on.
I also think Loki is capable of outwitting them; Loki, being ten steps ahead, has probably figured out something that the TVA has not even thought of yet, so he’s going to fix things his own way, according to his own plan. And I want to see that, because I think that this will give the narrative room to really explore both how Loki thinks and what he does when his plans go awry (as I’m sure they’re bound to do); like, how will he fix it and still remain on top in the end?
So, I mean, I’m pretty intrigued (and still cautiously optimistic).
Lots of action shots happening, I won’t add even more images to this post, but this magic is still giving me life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What is this, a food court? (Speaking of which , what’s up with all the action in the mall earlier?)
“I’ve studied almost every moment of your life”
Tumblr media
(^^ Missed opportunity)
“and you’ve literally stabbed people in the back like 50 times.”
Tumblr media
Receipts or it didn’t happen, and that’s all I’m gonna say about that line right now.
Tumblr media
Thanks, I hate it. This is all wrong, this whole thing - just awful, scrap it, toss it out. Tom, I love you, but this was the wrong delivery and an all-around bad acting decision. It’s too over-the-top, too earnestly “well I never!”, too comical (as in, feels like it belongs in a comic with a speech bubble as opposed to funny).
Once more, with feeling. From the top!
Tumblr media
I like that we get to see Loki doing a wardrobe change, as I don’t think we’ve gotten to see that before. He always just shows up in a new outfit or illusions one on.
Tumblr media
That’s one ugly ass outfit, but you make it look passable, Loki. You’re beautiful, in case no one’s told you that today.
The remaining shots are very visually pleasing and action-y and I dig them, except the volcano one (stop posing with your arms outstretched every five seconds, Loki, it’s kinda cringe. In the above still, it works; in front of a volcano, it’s just tonally off. I say this with love, don’t @ me).
Overall, I think I maintain my 7/10 rating. I think that the trailer hints at a lot of potential in the story that I will enjoy seeing, and I think that the nature of it being a trailer means that it’s a little tonally hyperbolic (this is kinda the format for Disney shit; show the flashy bits, the funny (”funny”) bits, to draw in the casual viewer. Save the story bits for the show. (Case in point: there’s a lot of great material in TFatWS that happened just before or after the one-liners shown in the trailer.)
So, yes. Sorry this is such a mammoth post, I just needed to explode my feels. If you think the trailer’s awesome, kudos and I love you. If you’re disappointed and upset, I’m sorry and I love you. If you’re hovering in the middle, still in cautiously optimistic territory, pull up a seat and have some popcorn with me.
That is all.

Missing you comes in waves and tonight I'm drowning
Summary:
After seeing Loki disappear before his eyes and confined to the TVA because of the failed mission, Mobius decides to still believe in Loki and search for him. He witnesses the discussion between Sylvie and Loki on the train
Notes:
My theories on the method used by Mobius to locate Loki is probably very far-fetched and lacks technical truth, but that's not the most important point here, so I hope you'll forgive me for my short cuts. (I miss them together!)

"Loki! Wait!"
Loki looked at him for a moment before stepping through the portal.
By the time they got there, it was too late Loki and the portal was gone.
"I knew he would betray us as soon as he could!" said one of the hunters right next to Mobius.
"Shut up!" shouted Mobius at him before returning to the TVA.
As he walked toward Ravonna's office, the same thoughts swirled over and over in his head.
Had Loki betrayed him! What were his plans? But worst of all, was he in danger?
He tried to think rationally.
Loki always said he was one step ahead, but Mobius knew that wasn't true. Loki was improvising. Loki was adapting. So reason told Mobius that this is what he had done.
That's when Mobius decided to do something he'd never done in his life at the TVA, he was going to bet on chaos. On the fact that Loki had chosen to follow the variant not only for his own sake but also because it was his mission.
Because Mobius could not imagine that what they had shared was nothing in the eyes of the god.
"Mobius! In my office!"
Ravonna... he was already imagining her reprimands, "I warned you" "he can't be trusted"...
As soon as he entered her office, she showed him a screen and just said, "Look!"
A scene showing the variant fighting in a hallway with the guards and Loki in the locker room retrieving his daggers then arriving at the place where the guards were eliminated.
Next scene Loki and the variant fighting, Loki trying to convince her to team up, at this point, despite the faith he has in him, Mobius could not determine if this is a way to stop her or get what he wants.
Then Rovenna arrives and the variant uses Loki as a hostage.
Mobius could not prevent a gasp.
Still on the screen, seeing that Rovenna is not persuaded, Loki grabs an object that opens a portal above them and he and the Variant disappear.
Mobius tried not to show his relief, but he saw that Rovenna was not fooled.
"So you still trust him?"
Mobius looked at her defiantly, "As long as I don't have concrete, real proof that he betrayed us, yes I’ll trust him!"
"Always the idealistic dreamer huh?"
Mobius didn't answer, Rovenna continued, "You're grounded here until I tell you otherwise. You can get out."
Once out, Mobius sat in a chair, held his head in his hands, and began to think. He was grounded, but there was nothing to stop him from trying to figure out where Loki was.
He just had to figure out how to locate him.
The difference was that now, thanks to Loki, he knew to look in the apocalypses, what he had to find now was the equivalent of that candy, something out of the ordinary, something anachronistic.
He stood up suddenly, he had found it!
He went to the office, where the screen that displayed all the nexuses was located.
"Casey! Come here!"
The younger man got up and joined him. Mobius spoke more softly, "Will you help me with a secret project?"
Casey, who had great respect for the man, nodded.
"Follow me."
They headed into the archive room. Mobius chose a table a little out of the way.
"You sit here. I'll be right back."
A few minutes later, he returned with a stack of files that he separated into two piles.
"In all these apocalypses, we need to find one where it mentions two Lokis variants and unusual magical acts."
"Got it!"
Mobius didn't know if his smoky theory would work out, but he didn't have much choice.
He couldn't help but think back to a similar scene a few days earlier, when Loki had fallen asleep. He had let his guard down in the presence of Mobius, so that meant something, didn't it?
He started to flip through the files.
"M-Mobius! I think I've got it!"
Casey was showing him a file, Lamentis-1 - 2077, a woman reports that two demons tried to attack her. One even allegedly posed as her deceased husband in order to get information.
Mobius could feel it in his bones. It was Loki and the Variant.
He was going to have to gamble on someone again.
"Casey. I need you to keep this a secret for a while longer. If Ravonna gets wind of this, I'm afraid she'll launch an assault and won't hesitate to eliminate Loki."
Casey nodded without taking time to think, "As long as you need Mobius."
Mobius was surprised that he didn't have to persuade Casey more than that.
After all, he seemed to be the good, loyal employee who never disobeyed.
Casey, seeing his reaction, added with a knowing smile, "You know, I like Loki too. He promised me he'd show me what a fish is and you know? The drink he took from me the other day, he bought me another one and apologized. A villain wouldn't take the time to do something like that right?"
Mobius's throat tightened. Casey was the first person other than himself to acknowledge that there was good in Loki.
"Thanks."
Casey nodded and returned to his desk.
Mobius headed straight for the video archive room. The advantage of being an agent of his rank was that he had unrestricted access to this section of the archives.
He searched through the shelves until he found the videos of Lamentis 1 in 2077.
He sat down in front of one of the small projectors provided for this purpose. He was going to start from the described scene that Casey had shown him.
After entering a few parameters, the screen lit up with Loki being blasted by an old woman.
The noise of the meteors that rained down around
Loki and the one who accompanied him, prevented Mobius from hearing what was being said.He pressed the fast-forward button until Loki and the girl, after some trouble to enter the train, found themselves in a box in the dining car.
He turned up the volume to hear their conversation.
He was amazed at how easily they seemed to converse, despite the jabs on both sides, and couldn't help a twinge of annoyance that he refused to recognize as jealousy.
The variant said to Loki, mockingly, "FYI, that wasn't even a plan."
"Oh, really?"
God how Mobius missed that cheeky attitude. Even when unmasked, Loki still had that irritating confidence.
The variant replied, "Plans have multiple steps. Dressing as a guard and getting on a train is just doing a thing."
She couldn't hold back a yawn.
Loki responded, "Oh, are you a bit tired? Feel free to, you know, get some rest."
One thing Mobius had realized and Casey had confirmed to him just before was that Loki cared more about others than he let on if you paid attention.
The variant grunted and replied, "I can't sleep in a place like this."
"You can't sleep on a train?"
The variant retorted, irritated, "No. I can't sleep around untrustworthy people."
Loki replied, still cheeky, "Oh, right. That's me?"
Fearing he might misinterpret what had been said, Mobius pressed rewind and let the scene play out before him.
The image of Loki nodding in agreement about not being able to sleep near people he couldn't trust was superimposed on the image of Loki sound asleep in his company.
He could not suppress the pang of his heart.
Loki trusted him, Loki considered him trustworthy.
While he was thinking, the video had continued and Loki was now talking about his mother.
Mobius had witnessed Loki's relationship with his mother and his devastation at the news of her death.
Loki's voice had become more hushed, with that hint of fragility he had whenever he spoke of her.
"She was, um... A Queen of Asgard. She was good. Purely decent."
Then the variant and Loki respectively provoked each other about the fact that they were adopted and Loki continued, "You know, when I was young, she'd do these little bits of magic for me. Like turn a flower into a frog or cast fireworks over the water. It all seemed impossible. But she told me that I'd be able to do it too because... Because I could do anything. You wanna see?"
Loki sets off tiny fireworks over his hand.
Mobius could not deny his feelings at that moment.
The sight of magic coming from Loki's hands, pure magic, was enchanting.
Loki continued, "She was the kinda person you'd want to believe in you."
Mobius could not help but whisper, "Loki, I believe in you."
For a few moments he didn't catch the conversation until it was audible again. Apparently they were talking about their love interests.
The variant asked Loki, "How about you? You're a prince. Must've been would-be-princesses or perhaps, another prince." She finished with a wink.
Loki, replied with a serious look, "A bit of both. I suspect the same as you. But, nothing ever..."
The variant finished his sentence, "real."
"Let me find you and I'll prove to you how real it is." Mobius didn't realize he was speaking aloud. He pushed fast-forward again.
The Variant had fallen asleep and Loki looked a little giddy.
Loki waved his hand and was back in his TVA agent costume.
He could wear the illusion of any outfit, and he chose this one. Why stay in these clothes?
Mobius really didn't want to be under any illusions, because how could he imagine that someone like Loki, a prince, a god, would want to claim a belonging to something like the TVA... to someone like Mobius?
Loki had started to dance and sing.
Mobius could not help but laugh. Then his laughter died down as Loki's song became more melancholic,
I stormsvarte fjell, jeg vandrer alene
Over isbreen tar jeg meg frem
I eplehagen står møyen den vene
og synger "når kommer du hjem?"
Men traner danser og fossene stanser
når hun synger, hun synger "kom hjem"
Then seeming to regain his spirits, Loki began to dance and sing happily again as if trying to prevent nostalgia from invading him.
When the music stopped, he joined the Variant and resumed his seat in front of him. Mobius managed to understand what they were saying to each other.
"What did you just sing to look so disturbed?"
Loki looked a little moved and answered him with the voice Mobius knew well, the one he used when he was serious, when he was sincere.
"It's Asgardian, it says:
In storm-black mountains, I wander alone
Over the glacier I make my way
In the apple garden stands the maiden fair and sings,
"When will you come home?"
Loki stopped, apparently moved, and the Variant simply said, "So there's a would-be-princess somewhere..."
Loki chuckled looking so sad before answering her, "I like metaphors you know, it's not a princess it's a prince, and I don't know if he's waiting for me or hoping to see me again, it's not even really my home, but..."
"But you'd like to believe that right?"
Loki nodded.
Mobius, didn't dare to believe that it was him that Loki was talking about, even though he couldn't stop the hope from rising up inside him.
The video continued, much more animated, after a wild fight, both jumped off the moving train and found themselves walking through a kind of desert towards the energy source they apparently needed to reactivate the tempad.
Mobius saw Loki suddenly stop, looking shocked. But Mobius was unable to hear what they were saying, the sound of the meteors again covering their voices.
Suddenly, Loki shouted louder, "But they don't know that!"
And they began to run.
Mobius could see that Loki was repeating something as he ran, an expression that Mobius had never seen on his face. Like he was worried. But he couldn't hear him. He zoomed in closer to try to read Loki's lips and finally succeeded.
Mobius.

okay help me out, fandom, I think my only remaining sticking point with episode 3 is that Loki was so bad at pretending to be a guard, and of course I realize that sometimes people are just dumbasses and MCU Loki particularly is more of an opportunist than a detailed strategist (to be fair we were also told in interviews over the years that he’s a chessmaster and everything but fine, fine, even in the first Thor movie he’s reacting to new developments more than carrying out a long-term plan, and Avengers is a weird situation for everyone), and I realize it’s possible to be a brilliant tactician sometimes and a total dumbass at other times--
but a) real people get a lot more leeway for inconsistency than fictional people do, come on, that’s a basic thing we all understand if we like stories and b) the whole Silvertongue thing is...not actually fanon??? like yeah we extrapolated a lot because we had a comparatively tiny amount of screen time spread out over ten entire years, but there are multiple points in previous canon--and in the show, for that matter!--where Loki shows himself to be eloquent, charming, quick on his feet in conversation, highly skilled at playing people and acting, etc. etc. etc. (I can come up with specific examples if I need to but I mean, we’ve all watched the same movies, we should all be able to think of stuff pretty easily, and frankly it’s silly to act like fandom’s concept of Loki is pure fabrication when, again, the vast majority of it was a perfectly reasonable extrapolation from previous canon.)
so the guard thing, Loki disguised himself and that worked great, and then he...didn’t think to also conjure a ticket? forgot that he does, actually, know how to act and be charming and/or intimidating? I’m not talking about him getting drunk, I can buy that as a reaction to thinking so much about everything he’s lost, I mean his initial approach. I was thinking maybe he at least partly wanted to see what Sylvie would do, but that also doesn’t seem to explain everything considering, you know, he didn’t want to do what she originally wanted to do and then they ended up having to use some of her methods anyway.
so, help me make it make sense between what we’ve seen in previous films and what we saw in the show. because I do want it to make sense! “it’s lazy writing and/or a retcon” is not a satisfying answer for me even if it’s true (which is actually a completely different conversation that I’m not very interested in having), and neither is “Loki is and always has been a loser who’s bad at things” because, again, the previous films still exist and they repeatedly portray him as being good at these specific things even when he wasn’t ultimately successful. but I’ve seen a lot of incredible meta on the episodes we’ve seen, so I really am hoping people have some thoughts on reconciling this apparent inconsistency--an explanation for why he would screw up that way, a reason he might have done it deliberately, examples of similar behavior in previous films, something.

Non-Controversial Loki Headcanons for These Trying Times
1.) Loki has had dozens of Midgard-based aliases over the years, for no other reason than the fact that he was bored and it was funny. DB Cooper was one of them. Hank Williams was another. He may or may not have even pretended to be a vampire at some point.
2.) Loki can definitely sing. Not just in a funny ironic way, but like.. he actually enjoys singing. It shouldn’t even come as a surprise considering he’s such a fine arts nerd, but yeah. He plays the guitar too. Surprisingly folksy.
3.) Loki’s rooms in Asgard literally look like a witch’s lair. I mean straight up spooky. All dark earth tones, spellbooks strewn everywhere, runes drawn on the walls to keep certain big brothers from messing with things they have no business messing with, vials of poisonous stuff sitting on every available surface, shelves full of strange little trinkets and talismans, a dramatic ass medieval-looking bed, a whole ass cauldron… and then in the corner on a stand there’s his Hank Williams Guitar aasdfghhjkl-
4.) When people call Loki a witch, they’re not joking. He’s. Like. An actual stereotypical, like.. witch. He doesn’t just do finger wavy magic- he mixes potions, he does rune work, he recites spells, he has a cauldron.
5.) He also used to dress super witchy. Used to. Past tense. I’m talking black nail polish, lots of necklaces, rings, eyes makeup (ok maybe I wouldn’t go that far, but Loki in eyeliner would be pretty hot, right?), clothes that were like.. 15% scarier yet more fashionable than the ones he wears in canon. The only reason he toned it down was because someone whose opinion he cared about (it was Thor) made a joking comment about his appearance looking “wicked” or “evil” and it made him feel self conscious, so he changed how he dressed. :(
6.) He was rocking the whole short hair look years before Thor in Ragnarok. In fact, by pre-canon Loki’s standards, his hair in Thor 1 was even a bit too long. He did this because a.) he hates how his natural curls soften him and will do anything to get rid of them and b.) in Asgard short hair wasn’t really worn by noblemen because it symbolised servitude, so this was Loki’s subtle way of being defiant and deviating from the norm.
7.) As Frigga said in Endgame, Loki is very good at sneaking. Even when he’s not trying to. There have been many-an-accident in the Palace of Asgard because he unintentionally almost gave Thor a heart attack.
8.) Loki and Thor weren’t always at each other’s throats. They actually got along pretty well up until Odin started planning for the coronation. Loki was still jealous of the way Thor was treated compared to the way he was treated, but he knew that wasn’t Thor’s fault- not really. And Thor was still arrogant and entitled, but that was mostly directed at other people and not his own family, so while Loki knew about Thor’s character flaws, it didn’t really effect him personally. When the planning started, though, Thor gradually became even more superior and insufferable than normal, and Loki became even more bitter and unsettled, and their relationship just kind of went downhill from there.
9.) Loki absolutely joined the Mile High Club with that flight attendant from the first episode of the show. Her name was Florence and she was adorable, Loki thought so too.
10.) Loki’s the only person on Asgard who can beat Volstagg at an eating competition. He has a giant’s metabolism, after all. And, contrary to his elegant and refined tastes in most other areas, he’s actually a straight-up carnivore. I mean he eats other foods too, obviously, but meats are by far his favourites. Boar, fish, poultry, steak. Just meats. He doesn’t know it, but this is because frost giants are mostly carnivorous.
11.) His relationship with the Warriors 4 was always split down the middle. He and Sif always hated each other. Hogun never trusted him and Loki never had any interest in spending time with Hogun. Fandral and Volstagg, on the other hand, were always much nicer and Loki always sort of considered them his friends as well as Thor’s. This is why they were more reluctant to believe that he’d let the frost giants in in Thor 1.
12.) I refuse to believe Loki doesn’t have at least one tattoo somewhere. Probably more. Probably of a snake. The only parts of his body we didn’t see naked in Episode 1 were his thighs, lower back, knee area, pelvic region, and the back of his neck. So it’s gotta be in one of those places. (Might I suggest: snake thigh tattoo, tiny nape tat, goth tramp stamp lol, rune tat behind his ear, Norse mythos leg tat, badass above-dick tattoo).
13.) Loki’s prickly and insecure and has layers like an onion, but once you get to the point of actually being friends with him, he’s a total sweetheart. I mean a literal smol dork. A bit hyperactive and excitable, but still very very soft. It’s because he’s had so few actual friends in his life.
14.) Sometimes Loki only goes a few days before his gender changes, sometimes he stays one gender for years at a time. And he tends to shapeshift his body to match. That being said, one of his biggest pet peeves is how his other-gendered clothes get all dusty and musty when they have to stay in the closet for long stretches of time. So he’s taken to wearing luxurious gowns around the house when he’s in his male form. You know, just to air them out.
15.) Loki hates sleeping with people. Sex is fine, but he’s just so solitary and paranoid that he’s never been comfortable sleeping in a bed with another person. This may or may not have gotten him in trouble a few times when his partners woke up and found him gone lol.
16.) Laufey is actually incredibly similar to Loki, the way Odin is very similar to Thor. He prefers smaller blades (ice daggers), he’s very analytical and calculating, he’s very calm and non-confrontational even when he’s in a stressful situation, and tbh he seems like a better king than Odin- much like Loki probably would’ve been a better kind than Thor. (Whoopsie this one’s a bit controversial)
17.) Loki adores animals! …But he’s also a bit obsessive about keeping his environment clean. Not organised, per se, just clean. And animals tend to be hairy and slobbery and feathery and slimy and poopy and dirty, so he’s never been able to have a pet. He just takes a lot of nature walks to compensate :)
18.) All jotuns are naturally intersex, including Loki. This is a bit unusual for Asgardians, but because Loki is genderfluid and a natural-born shapeshifter- and has always had a tendency to change his body parts around as his gender changes (male, female, both, neither)- he’s never had a reason to find it very odd. In hindsight, that was one of the many eccentricities that should have made him realise something was a little fishy with his “asgardian” genetics.
19.) The snake + stabbing story from Ragnarok was nowhere near as nefarious as Thor made it seem. What actually happened was: Someone accidentally mixed a real knife in with the blunted practice knives. Thor and Loki didn’t know this, of course, and when they were playing a battle game, Loki ended up with the real knife. When Loki “won” and went to “vanquish his enemy” he ended up actually stabbing Thor for real. They were both hysterical and it took longer to calm Loki down than his brother. It ended up just being a flesh wound, though, so everything turned out fine.
20.) A lot of people think Loki discovered his “secret passageways between worlds” from TDW through some sort of inter-realm questing or magical study or something, but in reality, he discovered them when he was like 16 and desperately trying to find a way to sneak out of Asgard without Heimdall telling his parents.
Tagging @natures-marvel & @little-s-creampuff for expressing interest. Thx for listening to my mad ravings lmao <3

Loki felt miserable. If only he knew what would he start with that lie. Why couldn't he tell her Y/N is his cousin or something? She and her golden-fish-like IQ would've believed him. Damn him! Damn him and Tony for making him do this! Why couldn't Stark do it himself! It was his idea afterall!
Loki was lying on a rug in his bedroom. He didn't feel like he deserved the luxury of a warm soft bed. He was looking through photos and selfies of Y/N in his phone. Her happy smile, her arms wrapped around him in a hug in his favourite selfie of you (his wallpaper), her two fingers giving him horns from behind his back and him doing it back to her. He counted, he had only 7 pictures of her in total. 'I should've taken pictures of her more often,' he thought to himself and wiped his eyes to get clearer view. He should've took a picture of her doing the most mundane things. Reading a book, drawing on a windowsill, chatting with someone. She always had this spark in her eyes whenever she talked about some of her interests. He wanted to see that spark again.
Loki caught himself dreaming of you again. 'Let her go,' he told himself. 'It will be better for her and you.'
But he didn't want to get better. Not without her. But he fucked up big time. He apologized. He showed her a proof of his innocense. She chose to put space between you two. And that was okay, right? He's already used to it, right?
His eyes were staring outside the window the whole night, but he wasn't watching anything. He needed them open, for whenever he closed them he saw you. Either crying and screaming like you did few day ago, or sad smile you gave him few hours ago, or your happy grin you have worn what seemed like ages ago.
Sky changed its shades of blue from dark to light. The morning sun made him realize that no, he isn't used to it.
*
The need to walk to your room was big. But he couldn't. He promised to leave you alone if you wanted. And you did.
So instead he hid in one of the old rooms everyone forgot about and never really used. He needed to be alone.
No one came looking for him yet. The only sign of someone remembering his existence was one message from Tony. Something about the info Loki got from that woman being useless and agents are taking the lead from the Avengers. Good to know he unknowingly destroyed his whole relationship with Y/N for nothing.
When he read those words the first time he wanted to smash the phone on nearest wall, but that meant losing all the pictures with you and he simply couldn't do that.
Loki wandered where where you. If you were safe. Maybe you took your dog out. Or made someone do it, so you didn't have to risk meeting him in the halls. Thought of you still avoiding him sickened him.
His lower back started to ache from sitting in pragraph position for too long. He decided to stretch and walk a little, clear his head. The plan was to go to kitchen, steal something small to eat (not because he was hungry, he needed a distraction) and go back to his secret room. Or the roof. What will came first.
With a glass of water and pockets filled with chocolate he started walking towards the exit.
Suddenly he heard small clawed paws hitting the floor making soft clicking noises. He followed the distand sound to find your little pup, Rex, walking around as if he owned the place. If he was here then you'll be nearby. Loki looked around the room, but besides the small dog and him it was empty.
When the little guy got his sent into his nose, he turned and sprinted towards Loki. He expected the pup to bite him, just like you promise you will train him, and mentally prepared himself for attack of small dull needles on his ankles.
To his surprise Rex started jumping on his leg, trying to reach his hand. When Loki lowered it to his level he started to lick it, his tail wagging wildly. Good to know at least he doesn't hate him.
"Did you escape her and went on an adventure, little guy?" he asked scratching behind his ears. Rex rolled on his belly and silently asked for scratches. Loki was more than happy to provide.
"Well, we can't leave it like that now, can we? She'll be worried sick if she doesn't find you in her room. Like this one time when she couldn't find her favourite plushie from childhood. We turned her whole room upside down just to find it. Later that day she realized she accidentally left it in my bedroom," he smiled sadly at the fond memory. "We laughed a lot afterwards. I fear she'll never laugh in my presence again," he stopped scratching.
Rex sat up and tilted his head at him.
"I know, I know, it's basically my fault. And I understand why she feels like that. Who wouldn't after their best... ex best friend said those things about them. I just wish I could turn back time and change everything."
"And why would you do that?" loki turned around to be met with face of none other than Tony Stark.
"You would never understand," he looked away.
"I'm capable of undertanding a lot of things, don't underestimate me."
Rex found new sent in the room and ran up to Tony. "Aaaw, is he yours? I never thought you'll be a dog person," Tony picked him up and got a good look on him, while Rex was trying to reach his face with his tongue.
"No, he's Y/N's. He must've escaped from her bedroom. Please, take him to her," he started walking away.
"No way, your friend, your problem. I'm already a very busy man even without pets," he put Rex on the floor and gently nudged him towards Loki.
"Here's the thing, I can't. I can't face her. And I am more than sure she doesn't want to face me."
"What happened? Don't tell me it's some petty reason like 'you picked the wrong movie' or 'those flowers don't go with ma vase'."
Loki rolled his eyes and took Rex to his hands. "No. She heard me telling lies to that woman we needed for those informations and now she doesn't trust me. I doubt she ever will."
"Just tell her how it was. How hard can that be?"
"Don't you think I already thought of that? I showed her the video from security cameras yesterday and she still doesn't want to go back to being my friend. And I understand why," he stared deeply into Rex's puppy eyes. As if the little dog felt his sadnes he tried to cuddle up to his chest.
"Then pray tell, cuz I could never understand women's logic."
Loki played with Rex's soft fur. "She knows I'm a great liar. She might think if that was a lie and she couldn't tell, then might be wondering how much of other things I told her were lies," Rex started chewing on Loki's thumb. "The truth is I never told her a single lie. Only that one time when she asked me if I'm smiling because I saw Thor fall down the stairs," he chuckled.
"Then tell her you never lied to her," Tony suggested.
"I can't. She won't believe me. Didn't you hear what I just said?"
"I did. But listen, life is complicated enough already, why making it more miserable by not talking each other's issues out? Just go to her, return her dog and ask to talk to her."
"What if she slams the door in my face just like the last time? Then what genious?"
Tony shrugged. "I don't know. Write her a letter and slide it down her door?"
Loki rolled eyes and started walking in the direction of your bedroom. "Your advices suck," he called behind his back.
Here he was. Standing in front of your door, which was slightly ajar. Explaining how Rex got out. Behind those doors he laughed with you, played games with you, watched movies while cuddling with you. So many pleasant memories. Scarred by the freshest one.
He remembered the fear and panic he felt when you started shouting at him. He remembered every last word you told him. Those kinds of words only left your mouth in his worst nightmares. He never thought he'll hear them in real life.
Tiny bites along his wrist brought him back to present. He didn't know what to do. Should he stand there and wait until you come out? Or should he knock? Call out for you?
His questions got answered sooner than he thought. "What are you doing here?" he heard her voice coming from the opposite end of the hallway.
He quickly looked down at Rex in his arms, the opened doorand realized how it must look to you. "I'm not stealing him, I swear. I found him wandering around the Tower," he held him out to you.
You took him, your fingers brushed his for a moment. You coughed. "Ehm, thank you. For bringing him back, I mean."
"No problem," he stood there awkwardly, hamd behind his back.
He figured you didn't want to say anything more and he took a step to walk around you.
"Hey," you called out.
"Yes?" he asked hopefully, waiting for your next words.
"I...... uhm," you bit your lip nervously.
He saw her wilingness to talk as his chance. "Can I speak with you? About all of what happened? Please?"
You looked up at him, a small relief in your eyes. "Actually, that's what I wanted to ask you."
"Oh, okay," he felt like an awkward teen rather than over century old man.
Both of you stood in the hallway. Until you broke the silence. "Well, do you want to come in?" you pointed at your door.
"Yeah, okay. Why not? Your bedroom is nice for talking," Loki mentally slaped himself across the face for saying such stupidity.
"Yes. I suppose it is," you gave him a small smile and closed the door behind the two of you.

You always have a choice: 5
Tumblr media
Locked up again To say you were going crazy in your cell was an understatement. You figured you were here three days. There wasn’t a clock on the wall, the only grip on time you had was the food that was delivered to you. Most of the times the Steve delivered your food. You finally got an answer out of him on the second day. That was the only thing you knew. You asked questions when he brought you your food, but he didn’t answer any of them. You had no idea how long you would be here, what was going on or how Loki was doing. They haven’t given you any entertainment, it was only you, the bed, toilet and three white walls. You were really starting to miss the cottage you and Loki stayed in, and began to wonder if the two of you were doing the right thing. Maybe you should escape and life your lives together, that would be enough.
On the fourth day, somewhere in the afternoon, you were throwing an apple that was included in your lunch around. At least you had some form of entertainment. ‘Good afternoon, lady (Y/N)’ a familiar voice greeted you. The apple fell on the ground and you sat up straight. ‘THOR!’ you said maybe a bit too enthusiastic. He smiled at you, but the smile didn’t quite reach his eyes. ‘It’s good to see you, although, I wish it were under different circumstances’ he told you.
‘Yeah, me too. Have you talked to Loki yet?’ you asked.
He shook his head. ‘I want to talk to you first’ he said while opening your cell. You saw the pair of cuffs in his hands and stretched your arms out. There was no point in fighting it. He led you to a small grey room. There was a large table, and on either side a chair. He made you sit down and attached the cuffs to a metal bar that was attached to the chair. When you were attached Steve walked in with the red-haired woman besides him. None of them sat down, which made you slightly nervous. ‘We know that the two of you have the Tesseract’ Thor started. For a moment it crossed your mind to deny it, but what was the point? Besides Loki told you to tell the truth. So, that was what you were going to do. ‘We have’ you answered.
‘Do you understand the severity of your crimes? And what the consequences are?’ he asked.
‘I do, but we had no other choice’ you answered him.
‘What is the threat that Loki keeps warning us about?’ Steve asked you.
‘Thanos’ you replied. Since nobody asked you anything else you took that as a sign to elaborate. ‘Thanos is the reason Loki tried to take over Midgard and the reason that I stole the Tesseract from the vault. We both had no say in the matter, it was life or death’ you explained. To your surprise Thor was the one who looked the most confused at you.
‘What do you mean?’ Steve asked you.
‘Didn’t Loki ever tell you?’ you asked Thor. He didn’t answer you, but the silence was answer enough for you. He hadn’t told him. ‘I don’t think it’s my place to tell, besides my time there isn’t something I like to think about. But it comes down to this. Thanos has a plan to wipe out half of all life in the universe, to prevent the strain that life puts on the universe now. He needs the six infinity stones to do that, and is trying to get his hands on them for a while now’
The three people in front of you looked in shock. They shared a look amongst each other and left the room. It took quite some time before they returned. When they did, there was a man you hadn’t seen before. He had black hair, brown eyes, and a goatee. ‘Why are you here?’ he asked direct to the point. He didn’t look very pleased by your presence, even less than all the other people.
‘We want to make a deal with you’ you answered.
‘What deal?’ the darkhaired man asked.
‘Loki and I are on borrowed time with Thanos, and you have another stone he seeks. So, we want to contact him and pretend to be able to give him the mind stone. When he accepts, and he will, you are going to stop us and in the process we fake our death. That means we are free and you can keep the stone. In exchange for you help, we will hand over the Tesseract willingly and go on to life our lives’ you explained the plan Loki had come up with. You saw from their faces that they weren’t convinced.
‘Nope, not happening. We will take the Tesseract and Thor can do with it whatever he likes. But we’re not helping you two’ the man immediately replied. Loki had told you that Thor would be your only chance, so you gave him a pleading look. The man started to rant about Loki and not being able to trust him, that this plan was stupid and dangerous the Steve and the red-haired woman. But you ignored it and focused on Thor.
‘Why not hand the Tesseract over now and go back to the dungeons?’ Thor asked.
‘Because sooner or later, he will find us. And it isn’t going to be a quick death’ you whispered. Trying not to think about all the things Thanos had done to you, or wonder what he had done to make sure even Loki feared him.
‘The Allfather won’t let the two of you roam free, if we execute this plan’ he said.
‘He would if he thinks we’re death’ you said.
‘You would really put him through mourning the loss of his son, again?’ he asked.
‘Thor, I know it’s hard. But if we don’t do this, you basically sending us to our deaths. And then you can mourn us for real’ you tried to play on his guilt. The darkhaired man was still ranting on. Thor nodded at you and uncuffed you from the table. He didn’t say anything on the way back to your cell. When he locked you back up you asked him ‘Are you going to help us?’
You could see that he was conflicted, didn’t trust you and definitely not Loki. Truth be told, you didn’t fully trust Loki either. ‘Please’ you added him. He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it and walked away. At this point, there was nothing more you could do but sit in your cell and wait. You tried to hold back tears, but after a while let them fall freely. Apparently, you had been crying for a long time, because your dinner was being served. It wasn’t served by anyone you knew, just someone in an uniform.
Even the next day your meals weren’t being served by people you had seen before. Nobody answered your questions, you had no idea if they had talked to Loki or if they decided to keep you here or send you away to Asgard. The day passed and you still weren’t any wiser. The next morning you were startled awake by the sound of your cell unlocking. You shot up from the bed and it took you a moment to realize that it were Thor and Steve standing in your cell. You were cuffed again and followed them. To your surprise you were led to the elevator, and saw Steve push a button to the 18th floor. The doors opened and you were led to a living room. On the large red couch sat on one side the darkhaired man, the red-haired woman, the man with the arrow and another man you hadn’t seen before. He looked really uncomfortable. On the other side sat Loki, in cuffs. He glared at the people in front of him, but softened his gaze when he saw you.
Thor took you and set you down on the same side as Loki and sat in between the two of you. Steve still stood in the middle ‘Right, after some discussion we decided to give you the benefit of the doubt. If Thanos really is planning on doing what you guys told us, it’s in our best interest. We will come up with a plan together on how to go from here. But let me be clear. We don’t trust either of you. Thor has vouched for the both of you, so we decided to give you an implant. If you so much step one line outside this building, you will get an electric shock, which only stops if one of us turns it off, got it?’ he said sternly.
‘I’m not wearing an implant’ Loki said while rolling his eyes.
‘It’s that or prison, your choice’ the darkhaired man said.
If looks could kill the man wouldn’t be breathing right now, but Loki just nodded slightly. ‘One more thing, instead of faking your death we are going to kill Thanos and after that the two of you will go back to the dungeons to serve the rest of your punishments’ Thor added.
‘You can’t! He is way too powerful to kill!’ you exclaimed.
‘I can take you back now to Asgard, or later. Your choice’ Thor answered.
You wanted to argue but you heard Loki’s voice in your head. Just agree, I already have an escape in mind before it even comes to that.
You shot Loki an unsure look, questioning whatever he had planned. Just trust me his voice in your head said. You hesitated for a bit before answering ‘Alright, but if one of us is killed, it’s on you’ looking at Thor, who wouldn’t meet your gaze. The redhaired woman stood up, and the rest of the team followed.
‘Wait!’ you said. ‘Can I at least know your names now?’ you asked them. Steve introduced everybody by name. After that he and Thor took you and Loki to your rooms, separate rooms unfortunately. He attached the implant and Loki was forced to wear cuffs that would restrain his magic, at least most of it. ‘See you two at dinner, I guess’ Steve said a bit awkwardly. You were alone in your room. You wanted to go see Loki, but Thor was still there. Looking around the room wasn’t half bed. There was a bed, and a couch with a table in front of it. And you had your own bathroom. With not much to do you lay down on the bed and closed your eyes. Wondering what Loki was planning.

First reaction to Episode 3
First the good bits…
I loved that we got to see Loki using so much more magic!!  Truly when the restraints of the TVA come off he’s not holding back!  What did we have? Teleportation? His pocket dimension! Fireworks! Props for taking the piss out of someone! Knives, knives everywhere!  I loved it!
And I loved that Sylvie tried to use her powers in the TVA and was also surprised to her disadvantage. Made me feel a little better for Loki.
I was genuinely surprised when the portal took them right back to the TVA.  I wasn’t expecting that.  And clearly neither was Loki.  It was interesting to see that his reaction was to defend it. Or at least hunt down Sylvie. I’m a little hazy on whether he was defending the TVA or defending his chance to speak with the Timekeepers. I did like how Renslayer saw him fighting the Variant – I don’t know if it will earn him brownie points with her, but it should.
Interesting we didn’t see Mobius this episode.
They actually showed Loki beating Sylvie in one moment, which was great!  It made the theory that he’d been holding back while he tried to get her on his side seem accurate. And this far through the series I REALLY needed to see Loki winning. at. something.
After all that theorising about how we ended up with Loki in a blue turtleneck, it ended up being E. None of the above. Lol  [I guess the line from the trailers “good, bad, a bit of both” didn’t make the cut in the end then?] And all the costume changes make sense now – just very much not in any of the ways we were thinking.
I was not expecting all the workers to be variants. :o  So what does that mean Mobius used to own a jetski in his previous life?  Or has he only been working for the TVA since the 90s? And does that mean they don’t age in the TVA? And is that somehow connected to why they all look human? They only keep the variants from earth?
The way Loki spoke about Frigga on the train. That broke my heart a little. That was this week’s moment when I just wanted to give him a great big hug.
I also really enjoyed it when they decided to work together, and then the action sequence at the end while they were trying to get to the ship.  That was excellent!  And did I see that right – did Loki stop a piece of building from falling on them?! I suppose if he can grab a roomba he can stop a building, but that was unexpected and cool!  And on a much larger scale than the smaller magics we’ve seen so far.
I liked that we got to see a bit of a conversation between Loki and Sylvie, but I didn’t particularly like the way Loki was so incautious.  That didn’t feel right for him.  I kept feeling like they were writing Sylvie the way I wanted them to write Loki.
And getting to the negative bits…
The thing I’m still bothered by is the characterisation.  It’s not so bad that I can’t look past it and enjoy the other elements, but it still makes me a little sad. Prior to Ragnarok Loki wasn’t the comedy sidekick, but they seem to have decided to carry on with that, and make him the bumbling hero. It’s a real shame. ☹  I can only hope this element was played up because he was drunk, and that it will be toned down a little in the next episode.  Shame he couldn’t also magic himself sober. It really bugged me that he broke the tempad and didn’t seem to have any alternative ideas that would work.  I feel like part of Loki’s identity is having good ideas, multiple plans to put into action depending on the context. And that he’s generally much more competent. This was not that.
Oh, and the whole bit where he was pretending to be the guard - that was just too much Tom, not enough any Loki.
One other thing I also really disliked, but I appreciate it’s just a personal taste thing, is the talk of love.  I mean who tf talks like this with a stranger they’ve just met who’s trying to kill them. *eyeroll* But I know, tv and movies do this all the time, so I can’t complain they’re treating Loki unfairly.  Just… ugh. My only hope is that that’s the token nod to romance out of the way and we can get on with the adventure part. Having said that I do recognise that there was a verbal recognition that Loki is bi/pan here, so I’m glad that was there for the people who that means a lot to.  I do feel like that conversation was shoehorned in there just for that purpose though.  But maybe that’s just me.  It always feels so forced in movies to me. *shrugs*
***
My guess is that from here they go and sit on those rocks we saw in the trailer and the TVA meanwhile have worked out where they are and come to arrest them, which allows them to escape this particular apocalypse.
Interesting to note that was a shorter episode than the other two. About 36 minutes as opposed to closer to 45.

it’s not you, it’s me masterlist & poison & wine masterlist
There was an obvious shift when you both returned to the gala. It was clear from the stolen glances or two that you were the current topic of the night. You ignored the curious crowd and simply whispered to Loki to head over to the bar for an overdue drink.
You both barely manage to receive your drinks before Loki warns you of an ambush.
“Incoming,” he mutters as he looks over his cup.
“Nat, I really-”
You stop when you turn around and notice it isn’t Natasha behind you but an overly amused Wanda.
“Well, hello to you too!”
“Hi! Sorry I thought you were Nat,” you tell her as she hugs you.
“I don’t blame you. She’s been trying to catch you alone since this whole thing started,” she laughs as she turns to Loki. “You must be the new boyfriend I’ve been hearing about?”
“Pleasure, I’m sure,” Loki smirks.
Wanda’s eyes go a bit large as she turns to you once more.
“Out of all the men here, you picked this one?”
“He’s a great liar,” you answer. “And he’s easy on the eyes.”
Loki huffs in response.
“Seriously though,” Wanda straightens up. “What exactly are you doing? You’re the current topic of the night and Tony’s PR team is worried about the publicity.”
“He’ll figure something out. Tony always tends to be the talk of the town every time there’s one of these things,” you assure her. “As for Loki, Natasha is to blame for that. If she just knew when to quit.”
“She’s pretty close to waving the white flag. Except... she really hates Loki.”
Loki grins in response while you’re left with unease.
“Should have picked anyone else.”
“Well,” you fumble. “I was short on time and frankly the worst on planning ahead.”
“That I can agree on,” Loki speaks up as he sets his empty glass down. “But the young little witch is right. If anyone else I must become, then so be it.”
With that said, a glamour of green shimmers over Loki shifting him into another familiar face.
“You’ve got to be shitting me.”
“Language.”
“What is wrong with you?” you snap at the Steve lookalike. “The real Captain is at this party. You gotta change back now.”
“This face isn’t appealing to you, I see,” Loki answers. “Do you prefer older? Younger? Taller? Perhaps... shorter?”
“You’re the worst,” you whisper, trying hard not to laugh. “Can you just shift back please?”
Loki’s glamour disappears and he settles back to his normal appearance.
“Better?”
“Much,” you answer as you brush a stray hair strand back. “I like your face as it is.”
His grin returns and you roll your eyes at it already knowing what was to follow.
“So you really do think I’m… how did you put it?” Loki ponders for a bit. “Easy on the eyes?”
“Of course those are the words you get stuck on. Is there anything else going on in that brain of yours?”
Loki opens his mouth to offer a retort but Wanda is quick to intervene.
“I was wrong,” she states with a chuckle. “You two are perfect for each other.”
Loki and you share a confused look before turning back to her.
“What are you talking about?”
“Nothing,” Wanda quickly responded. “You’ll figure it out on your own...eventually.”
With those parting words, Wanda offers one last smile in your direction before heading off on her own.
“Very peculiar and ominous,” Loki comments once she’s gone. “You have an interesting choice of friends.”
“We do brunch every time I pay a visit,” you answer. “Her and Natasha are the closest girl friends I’ve had in a lifetime.”
You peer down at your glass and let out a sigh as your mind wishes to wander into dark thoughts that plague you constantly. You ignore them and turn to Loki.
“How about you?” you ask. “Any close friends here? Or up in Asgard?”
“No, none at all,” Loki answers. “Midgardians are too simple and the people of Asgard are…”
“Are what?”
“Simple too, I guess,” Loki sighs. “I’ve only ever trusted Thor and even then, I find that hard to do at times.”
“We really are a couple of cases,” you mutter more to yourself but Loki is quick to agree.
You both are silent as you take a drink.
“So…” you draw out. “How long have you been able to shapeshift?”
“For as long as I can remember,” Loki answers. “Helped gain me the title of Mischief since I tended to pull pranks and such.”
He chuckles and you can tell from the new glint in his eyes that he remembers something fondly.
“Sent Thor to the infirmary quite a few times,” he explains. “That big oaf never did learn from his past mistakes which is something I exploited every time I could.”
“Do you think I can learn to shapeshift?” you ask, earning a surprised look from him. “I mean… you did say I have seidr in me. Can I learn how to wield it and do the same things you can?”
“Perhaps,” Loki shrugs. “Yours is quite weak seeing as you’re so young. In time that power will grow but seeing as you’re half-mortal…”
He trails off and you understand what he refuses to say.
Your humanity is a weakness due to the restraint it has in your immortality.
“Right,” you whisper with a nod. “I’ll live longer than any mortal but die younger than any Asgardian.”
Loki notices that distant look in your eyes. He was so familiar in doing it himself that it made him uncomfortable being a first-hand witness.
“Give me your hand,” he tells you before he regrets the sudden idea in his mind. Loki sets his glass aside and offers his free hand to you.
You hesitate but find yourself placing your trust in him as your palm meets his. He moves your hand towards his face and a familiar warmth begins to spread down your arm.
“Your seidr,” you whisper. “I can feel it again.”
“Yes,” Loki nods. “I’m letting you borrow some of mine.”
“Why?”
“For mischief, of course,” Loki grins. “Now shift me in any form you’ll like. Make me a boring MIdgardian to set Natasha off your trail.”
“Are you sure?” you ask him. “You don’t need to do that for me.”
Loki shrugs, “It’ll make our job easier.”
“Ok,” you agree, still hesitant. “I guess… Maybe…”
You simply think of the minor changes you wish for Loki to wear. You watch as his hair becomes short brown waves and his green eyes turn blue. Finally, a light tan replaces his paleness.
“There,” you state. “All done.”
Loki is quick to turn to the mirror behind the bar and tries to make sense of his new appearance. He still looked the same but different too.
“You didn’t do much,” he comments.
“The best lies have a bit of truth in them,” you explain. “I like you just exactly as you are, but if changes have to be made… well, it wouldn’t hurt to make you a bit more human like us.”
You make to move your hand away from his cheek but Loki is quick to stop you. He doesn’t understand why he felt the need to hold onto you for a bit longer but there was something in your explanation that digs deep into him. It leaves him unsettled and he can’t figure out why.
“Loki?”
He’s quick to let go of you then and clears his throat.
“I believe it’s time for another dance,” Loki states abruptly. “Show off your new partner for everyone to see.”

Here’s the thing, Peter Parker grew up in Stark Tower, which eventually became Avengers Tower of course. So whilst his whole class was buzzing about their field trip, all he could think was, “shit, shit shit.” His dad was going to embarrass the hell out of him. His Aunts and Uncles were going to endlessly tease him.
So, no Peter was not looking forward to the field trip. Not in the slightest. He still wanted to go, though. He knew that the rumors of his internship being fake were started by Flash, the annoying teen. He also knew that Flash had not once said his real name, preferring the name Penis Parker. It didn’t bother him as much as it used to. Also since highschool began, Flash had calmed down with his bullying. Well, maybe Flash hadn’t calmed down and high school was just bigger and he had thicker skin. And a new support system with plenty of people to go to.
Peter had been adopted by the Starks when he was a mere ten years old. At first, he was terrible at receiving any gifts or even too much attention. Slowly but surely, he got more and more used to it. Now, he wouldn’t not know what to do if any of that was taken away. Plus, he really did find a liking for expensive suits, however shallow. He looked good in them, and his father always insisted on buying him more and more. Tony would always find an excuse to spoil the kid a little more, however much Pepper tried to stop him.
“Peter, please see me after class regarding an urgent matter.”
Brough out of his thoughts, Peter swiftly nodded his head.
He looked at the board to see the words from before still written on them, “Field Trip to Stark Industries!” It might as well have said, “Dig Peter Stark’s Grave!”
“So, let’s get started with today’s lesson, graphing imaginary numbers on the complex plane!” He’d done this one a while back with his father. Something about not only learning applicable science and engineering. Peter tapped his glass, and the episode of Arrow he’d been watching on the car ride over began playing. He’d be ever grateful for his father’s gift of EDITH to him. Pepper had tried to ban him from wearing them to school, but hastily gave up when Peter pulled the spiderman danger card.
“Alright, class dismissed. Please remember to do this homework pages 11-18 on this unit’s homework handout.”
Peter, forgetting his teacher's previous request, was very glad to be on his way home. He was one foot out of the door when the teacher called his name. Now, his day had gone pretty well up to that point. Bucky made pancakes for breakfast, which were delicious. There was wayyy less traffic on the way to school. He’d aced an essay and a couple of quizzes, and then he even participated in PE effectively. But alas, all good things had to come to an end.
“Mr. Parker? The discussion.”
“Right,” Peter thought, joining the teacher at his desk.
“Peter, you are truly a great kid. I know you’ve been through a lot recently and in your life, but it is no excuse to make up an internship. We both know that it is not real. Now, acknowledging that you have a bright future, the administration and I have come forward with an offer. If you agree to write an apology, expressing that you understand what you did was wrong and immoral, you will both be allowed to come on the trip and no punishment will be given to you. If you choose to not take this opportunity, you will be banned from the trip and will be chastised.
Peter just stood there, not really comprehending. Apparently Flash’s little rumors were a lot bigger than he anticipated.
“I-i-I’m not lying,” was all he could manage. He had filed all the right paperwork and proved his internship.
“I’m sorry to hear that you will not come forward with the truth. You have up until the day before the trip to hand in the letter if you change your mind. Goodbye Peter.”
Peter just let his legs take him out of the classroom, then out of the school, and then to the road, a couple blocks away, where his dad picks him up from.
“Hello mini-me.”
“Hey,” Peter said, jumping into the passenger seat.
“‘Hi Dad, thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to pick me up each and every day. Sick new car by the way! I’d love to drive it sometime!”
Peter just rolled his eyes with a smile, “Car looks great dad. McLarren’s are superior yet.”
“Ungrateful, so so ungrateful. What’s got you in a mood then?”
“Nothin,” Peter said, pulling out his phone.
“Oh come on, tell me. Tell me or I’ll call Ted.”
“Ned, Dad. We’ve been friends for like three years.”
“Not the point.”
“Just something at school.”
“Wow how very descriptive. You know I’m trying to do the whole feelings thing here, and you should appreciate that coming from my emotionally stunted self.”
“You’re so dramatic. Basically we’re having a field trip to your tower, and I’m not allowed to go because the teacher doesn’t think I really have an “internship.” Which, to be fair I don’t but that’s on you and not me.”
“Nah na na. I offered you an internship, and you said I’d be bored.”
“It would be. Doing a project for your company under strict supervision of some person would be sucky. I mean I can do anything I want from the lab you built me.”
“I know, but remember technically you are my intern. Remember we did that whole personal intern bullshit for the school.”
“Oh right. Is that why you keep harassing me about submitting all my completed projects.”
“No, that’s all your mother. Something about not wanting a lawsuit over a fake internship.”
“Make sense. She tends to be a lot smarter than you.”
“Ah, I feel so attacked. The abuse I suffer.”
“You’re terrible.”
“I am internally crying, kid. Sobbing.”
“Shut up,” we laughed.
“Who’s home?”
“You saw Buck and Sam this morning. Nat and Steve came back from their mission this afternoon. Thor and Loki are back for dinner tonight.. Strange might be coming round, not sure though. Cliff and the family aren’t back for at least a couple weeks. Oh and Bruce is wholed up in his lab as usual.”
“Shit. Everyone staying till the end of the week.”
“Yeah, oh the field trip. You’re screwed. You should have not told me.”
“Ughhhhh!!!”
“I love your life Petey.”
Peter walked into the kitchen and saw Steve reading a newspaper.
“Uncle Steve! Your back!” he smiled, dropping his bag off near the sofa. Steve got up to give the smaller boy a hug.
“Yep. Mission completed.”
“Nice. Can you tell me about it?”
“Yeah, it was nothing too interesting. We just needed some more intel into a terrorist organization stationed in the US. Most of the mission was recon. The next steps are being taken in a couple weeks.”
“Good to know there’s an active terrorist organization out there,” Peter said lightly.
Steve just smiled, not quite understanding the modern humor.
“Where is everyone else?” he said, realizing the living room was not in it’s normal chaotic state that he’d come to love. The chaos was his favorite reminder that he had so many people. He liked having lots of people, even after all this time.
“Nat and Buck are training, they invited you to join if you want. Bruce is in his lab, and dont worry he slept and ate last night. Not sure about the rest.”
“Right, thanks. I think I’m going to go train.”
Before he knew it, it was Friday morning, and his school was coming to his home. He was going to try very hard to ignore them. To do so, he asked his mum to let him sit in on some meetings. He had an easy in to the R&D and mechanical side of the company via the other interns. He was actually planning on hanging out with some of the “other” interns later that day. They were always happy to let Pete in on their projects and let him give them a hand. But he was always interested in getting more detail about the business side of the company, and he liked to get a window into it. Pepper was always happy to show her son the ropes. I mean he was heir to the company after all, even if he didn’t know yet.
He asked his mum to only schedule meetings after 12 as he requested a sleep in. Pepper was always happy when Peter slept as he was a little too much like his father. So, he woke bright and early at 11:00 o’clock.
After a scroll through his phone and a quick shower, he was ready to pull on his far too expensive Brunellio’s custom suit. It was one of his favorites. His father had got it custom made when he was in Italy, and told him he simply could not resist getting one for the kid. Pepper just smiled.
He had a large breakfast (enhanced metabolism) and headed towards the 34th floor where his first meeting was located. He’d been shadowing his mum for almost a year now whenever it was convenient, so he had the rointine down. He was almost sure he could take over a few of her meetings.
“Hi honey,” Pepper said, giving the boy a quick kiss on the cheek on the way to her own chair beside him. Peter blushed before resuming his professional posture and facial expression.
“Good morning everyone, as you can see Peter will be joining us today. I want to talk about some of the services we provide for our employees and their feedback. I’m aware we have a large portion to talk about so Kendra please take it away on that front.”
The first meeting went smoothly as planned. It was a discussion on the progress of the internal services, aka the IT department. Peter hadn’t learned much about their IT department, so it was good to listen in to. Pre these meetings, he, of course, does research into the background stuff, so he’s not completely lost. Pepper’s assistant usually provides him with a packet of info about the Stark Industries side of things. He is also given a list of key words and concepts he might want to make sure he understands. The research is fun for him, it makes him feel all professional.
Usually he spoke during the meetings, asking a couple questions and suggesting some ideas, but for this one he just learned and took in. The next meeting, however, was very much so his field. He’d spoken a lot with advertising, becoming very interested in the data analysis behind it. He even took a stats class so he could keep up. In that one he asked questions Pepper was on the verge of asking twice. He also contributed to the analysis of data once. Pepper usually liked him to participate as it was good for him, but he always felt bad suggesting stuff to the senior adults. He usually spoke to his mum or dad about projects for the company, preferring that.
They hung back in the room of the second meeting.
“Good job in this one Pete. Took two questions right off my tongue.”
“Thanks ma,” he said, always appreciating some approval.
“That’s all I’ve got for you today, kid. Rest of the stuff is, ya know.”
“Course. Thanks for these two. It was good to learn about internal affairs a bit more. Have a gap of knowledge there.”
“Yeah. Was that the first time meeting our CIT?”
“I believe so.”
“Well, next time we have a broader IA meeting, I’ll pull you outta school,” Pepper suggested.
“Really? That’d be epic.”
“Course, hun. Jarvis, sort that out please.”
“Of course Mrs. Potts.”
“Thanks J,” Peter yelled.
“Anytime mini-boss. No need to disturb the entire floor.”
“Are AI supposed to be so snarky?”
“Dad programmed it, what else would it be?”
“Valid point.”
“Right, got to run. See you later.”
“Bye, love you mum!”
“Love you too, Pete.”
“Jarvis, could you send me the tour plan for the visiting tour today?”
“Absolutely, sir. They’re on your phone now.”
“Thanks J.”
Looking at the plans Peter smiled. He had successfully avoided them the entire day. It said they were supposed to head back to school at 2:30, and it was about to be three. Smile on his face, he trotted down to the lobby to grab a coffee before going to meet Loki at the arcade. Don’t judge them, it was their thing. Taking the private lift down, and then walking straight to the coffee stand and ordering.
“Mr. Parker!” he heard the angry voice of his teacher, “How dare you show up here aft-”
Shit. shit. Shit.
“Edith, call dad, and tell him it’s urgent in the lobby.”
“Of course Peter.”
“Peter, are you listening to me! You are going to face extreme consequences for this.”
“Your coffee,” the man said, not realizing it was Peter, level ten personal of the tower, that was being yelled at.
“Thanks.”
“How dare you get coffee! In this building! Security!”
Tony arrived spotting his son instantly.
“Kid this best be impor- I see.”
“Hey Mr. Stark,” Peter said weakly.
“Mr. Harrington is it? Please stop harassing my intern.”
“H-he, he is y-your intern?”
“Yes. My favorite. Please exit the building and never question him again. You will be hearing from me.”
Let’s just say, Monday was an interesting day. At least Flash backed off, he was definitely an intern at SI, and no one embarrassed him on the trip.
