HURTS SO BAD | PART 2 | CHOI SEUNGCHEOL
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary | seungcheol’s pov from my previous fic
genre | angst
word count | 1k
pairing | choi seungcheol x gn!reader
“Fuck you, Seungcheol.”
Instantly, as these words escaped your mouth, he regretted every single thing he just said, praying that he could somehow turn back time. But there was nothing he could do now, the damage was done, and he simply watched you leave with a heartbroken expression.
He wanted nothing more than to crumble into a small ball and hide somewhere far from here.
Despite the music still playing from the speakers, the silence in the room was almost deafening. Seungcheol could feel the hard stares from the boys, as they tried to wrap their heads around what just happened.
“Did you actually lose your mind?” Jeonghan was the first to speak up. Seungcheol didn’t dare to look up and face the disappointed expressions of his friends.
“Never in all those years we have been together have you ever said anything so cruel, no matter how fuck up things were. And now you lash out at your, mind you, partner for being worried about you?” Jeonghan scoffed, clearly angry at his bandmate.
Seungcheol knew that there was nothing he could say or do to make this situation better, he only stood there with hunched shoulders and a tight throat.
“What has gotten into me,” he thought.
Yes, he was stressed as hell, and everything irritated him lately, but he swore he would never take his anxiety out on you. Well, until now.
The jacket you threw at him caught his attention, laying abandoned on the floor. Is this how you feel right now - left behind and neglected, by the person who was supposed to love you no matter what? He took a step to pick it up, still feeling the warmth of your body coming from it.
“I’m going to fix this,” Seungcheol said quietly, putting the fabric to his chest.
“Did I hear you right, hyung? You’re going to make it right?” laughed Mingyu, approaching the older one. “You just yelled at your partner and told them the worst things you could have ever possibly said. We can put up with your bitchy behavior, but that’s not an excuse to treat them like shit,” he said, clearly very agitated by the whole affair.
“Let it go Mingyu, he knows what he has done. It’s his problem now how he’s going to get out of this shit,” said Jihoon, putting an arm on the taller’s shoulder to calm him down.
“Yeah, but it doesn’t change the fact that he just basically emotionally abused one of my best friends.”
“Hey, don’t you fucking dare saying I abused them in any way,” Seungcheol raised his voice at at younger boy, his emotions getting out of hand. “I know what I have done, and I’m going to make it right again,” he said, not exactly convinced himself.
“So what, you think you'll buy them flowers, pout and make puppy eyes, and they'll forgive you?” he scoffed and crossed his arms, making him look bigger than he already was.
“No, making puppy eyes is your thing, I’m not that cheap,” Seungcheol fired right back at him.
With each exchange between Seungcheol and Mingyu the tension only escalated, the atmosphere becoming charged with a mix of anger, frustration, and hurt. Their tones harsh and cutting, both of them tried to defend their position. Sadness, and disappointment were evident on their faces, further fueling the intensity of the situation.
“I messed up, alright? But you're acting like I hurt them on purpose-.”
“Well, to us it looked like you wanted to-.”
“Could you just stay the fuck away from my relationship and focus on your shitty love life?”
The rest of the boys, who were skeptically watching what was going on, knew this wouldn’t end well. Mingyu might have been passive most of the time, letting the others walk over him and still not batting an eye, but when it comes to his friends and their well being, he wouldn’t just stand around and watch.
Wonwoo who was standing by the mirrors slowly came up to Mingyu and patted his back.
“There is no use Mingoo, you’re not helping here,” he said sternly.
“Well, I have the right to be angry.”
“No one said you didn’t, but let’s not add more fuel to the fire, okay?”
Mingyu glared at Seungcheol for the final time, before turning around and walking out of the room.
“I’m going to check up on him,” said Mingaho.
As the tension evaporated the second Mingyu left, Seungcheol could feel his anger turn to sadness and powerlessness. Now not only has he hurt you, but also his friend, who was so dear to him.
Seungcheol felt trapped, not knowing what to do next and feeling extremely mentally and emotionally drained. He sighed deeply with a blank stare, drained from all of his usual energy.
With the silence still apparent, everyone parted ways to give Seungcheol some space. Only Jeonghan and Joshua stayed by his side, not knowing what to do.
“What am I supposed to do now?” asked the oldest, with a tired voice.
“We’re all here for you, Coups and you're not alone in this. Don’t worry about Mingyu for now, he’ll come around,” said Joshua. “Take a deep breath and try to think clearly about this.”
“It's just that everything seems to be going wrong, and I feel like I have no control over it.”
“We know, but you should have just talked to them. Why didn’t you do it? Why did it have to come to this Coups?” asked Jeonghan.
“I don’t know, I really don’t. I thought I was stronger than this, that it would pass and everything would be okay. I just didn’t want to be a burden to them.”
“Well that didn’t end up too well,” said Joshua, laughing at Seungcheol’s pouting face.
“Thank you for being here for me. I really need that right now.”
“Of course! That's what family is for. But that doesn’t change the fact that we’re all so pissed at you right now,” said Jeonghan.
“Yeah, for a second there I thought Mingyu was going to punch me or something,” chuckled Sungcheol.
“I wish he did,” muttered Joshua, and walked away quickly before the oldest could respond.
“I’m going to make this right,” thought Seungcheol. “No matter what it takes.”

I'll Be Nice At First, Then I Won't: Dad!Quaritch
Avatar Masterlist
word count: 1.3k
Request:  what if she starts to get some romantic attention and he's trying SO hard to be a cool dad but he's freaking out lol
taglist: @uselessbutinteresting
Tumblr media
Your relationship with Quaritch had been slowly getting better, there were still times where you two fought against each other but overall things were pretty good with you two. Another thing that had happened was that you and Neteyam sort of had moved passed the friends stage to the sort of dating phase now which made you worried about how you would even bring it up to your dad.
Your dad had been at home working on learning Na'vi with Spider when he saw you and Neteyam walking back towards the village hand in hand, laughing and giggling about something which made him even more interested.
"Hey son, are your sister and Sully's kid dating?" He asked not taking his eyes off of you.
"Which one, because if she's with Lo'ak then no they aren't. But now her and Neteyam are a different story." Spider said.
"What does that mean?" Quaritch asked looking at Spider.
"Meaning that they've been in love with each other since we teenagers. So there is something definitely going on between them." Spider said as you and Neteyam approached the tent.
He watched as you two stood there talking unaware that him and Spider were there, and he watched as Neteyam placed a kiss on you cheek, as you became shy from his action meanwhile Quaritch was having an internal panic attack.
His little girl might have a boyfriend already? There was no way. He regained his thoughts and breathing as you entered the tent with a smile on your face.
"Did you and your boyfriend have a fun date today?" Spider teasingly asked you making you roll your eyes.
"He's not boyfriend and secondly your jealously is showing, what's a matter did Kiri ditch you again?" You said sticking your togune out at him.
"Not yet he isn't and don't worry about me and Kiri. I'll see her tomorrow." He said as your dad watched you two with a smile on your face.
Quaritch waited until Spider was asleep to bring up the situation about you and Neteyam to you just to see where you were at with dating and everything. You had been sitting outside looking at the stars something you loved to do before bed, until you saw your father making his way over towards you.
"Hey sweetheart, mind if I join you?" He asked as you patted a spot next to you.
"You know your mother loved the stars?" He said making you look at him.
"She did?" You asked.
"Yeah she did, it was one of her favorite things, I used to take her star gazing all the time before we came here." He said.
"Must be where I get it from. Dad did you wanna talk about something?" You asked him noticing how deep in thought he was.
"Yeah I did. Forgive me for overstepping, but can I ask what is going on between you and Neteyam? I saw you two today and it got me wondering." He said
"I think there is but I'm not entirely sure....I don't think he sees it working out between us and that maybe why he hasn't offically asked me to be his girlfriend even if I want him to do so." You said queitly.
"Why do you say that?" He asked you concern.
"I don't know I just think the fact that I'm human and he's Na'vi is a big reason which is fine if it is because the same worry had crossed my mind but I wish if it was, he talk to me." You said making your dad frown.
"Hey hey if that's his reasoning then he's stupid for letting that get between  you two...have you tried talking to him about it?" He asked as he wrapped an arm around you.
"No I haven't. Do you think I should?" You asked him.
"You should, because maybe he's feeling that same way and doesn't want to hurt you by being it up first, you know?" He said as you nodded your head.
"Thanks dad." You said wrapping your arm around him.
"Of course sweetheart, now lets get you to bed." He said picking you up and carrying back inside and laying on your bed and covering you up.
Neteyam noticed how quiet you were today, and it worried him because you were never this quiet. He reached for your hand and squeezed it, snapping you out of your thoughts as he motioned with his head asking if you wanted to ditch Lo'ak and Spider to which you nodded your head letting him lead you somewhere else.
"Are you okay baby?" He asked taking a seat up against a tree with you across you.
"Neteyam what are we? I mean I know this is sort of new but I also know that I've liked you for the longest time and i get it if you don't because I'm human but I feel like if that's the case...." You were cut off by Neteyam kissing you making your eyes go wide as you kissed him back.
"Baby, you're so cute thinking that I wasn't in love with you. But believe I've been in love with you since we were kids, something like race isn't going to stop me from loving you. I was just taking things slow and not trying to scare you off given everything you been through lately." He said making your heart swell at how caring he was.
"Oh Ney." You said leaning your head against his.
"I see you Y/N, I would love nothing more for you to be my girlfriend." He said.
"Really?" You asked.
"Really. So will you be my girlfriend so my family can finally stop hearing about you and how much I love you?" He said making you laugh.
"I see you Neteyam and would love nothing more." You said placing a kiss on his lips.
It would be a few days later until your dad would find out the news. He came home from a hunt and found you two cuddled up making him raise his eyebrow at the two of you.
"Can i see you the in other room Y/n?" He asked as you agreed and followed him.
"So are you two dating now or what?" He asked you.
"We are. So please be nice dad, and try not to scare him off." You said to him making him laugh.
"I'll be nice at first, but then if he hurts you, I won't be." He said to you as you thanked him before you guys headed back to the room where Neteyam was.

Btw do you know about the yandere alphabet (here: https://www.tumblr.com/dear-yandere/188860909008/yandere-alphabet). Do you accept request base on the yandere alphabet? If yes, then I'd love to request:
+ F, H, N for Noriaki
+ I, J, L for Josuke
+ B, Q, X for your favorite yandere :)
~ 🏵️ anon ~
You’re welcome. Sure, I’ll bite. Forgive the formatting here, I’m still trying to figure out how to make it all pretty. For my "favorite" I just did someone I was in the mood for tonight.
Tumblr media
F: How would they feel if their darling fought back?
Noriaki is displeased, to put it lightly. He doesn’t understand why you won’t just behave, he’s doing everything right, by all means. If you resist him you might as well just be begging for restrictions. He doesn’t even restrict you that much, he doesn’t have any plans to kidnap you! Stop acting like he’s some obsessed creep and behave.
H: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?
Losing your autonomy. If you are incapable of acting right, he’ll make you act right. It’s not like it’s hard to puppet you. He knows how you talk, walk, even how you rest when you stand still for too long. And he just adores the way hierophant green looks on your wrists and ankles.
Also the social isolation. Once you notice it, it’s too late.
N: How would they punish their darling?
Noriaki is very, very understanding. He researched how most victims react to overbearing obsession, and to be honest, not very good results! His goal isn’t to harm you, he wants you to flourish! He punishes you socially, have you ever been talking to a group of people and one of them stops the entire conversation to chide you? Social shaming and peer pressure is killer.
Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?
Josuke wants to settle down. He’s always been sorta jealous of people who had really loving families, and sometimes family means you, your darling, and maybe a dog. He wants his darling to play house with him.
Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?
Only sorta. He’s cool if you show him lots of attention; He doesn’t want to be one of those overbearing boyfriends who ruins every friendship you’ve got. He’s an asshole, yeah, fucking ok, but he’s not gonna get in the way of your friends. He’s not insecure.
On that same note, it’d drive him up the wall if you talked about another guy like he was better than him. He’s sitting right there, you absolutely cannot be serious. He blows off steam by working out, and telling himself he’s way better than that scumbag you’ve definitely got eyes for.
Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?
I think he inherited his father’s persistence. He can’t take a “no” for shit. He’ll go a seemingly normal route- saying he wants to spend time with you, getting your phone number, doing things he thinks people find attractive when guys do. He peacocks quite a bit, and for good reason, he’s quite handsome. He takes you out on a couple dates before he decides to properly ask, and if you say no, he’s just going to take that as a “Not yet.”
Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?
Leone is prepared to kill for his darling, and that’s entirely with his hands. He doesn’t use guns, and his stand isn’t one for combat, so it’s either his bare hands or something he can bash someone’s head in with. It’ll be such a pain to get this blood out of his clothes, but he really doesn’t care. He has a job. He can buy new clothes. He can’t buy a new you.
Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?
Never. If his darling died while under his care, he’d kill himself. End of story. What’s the point in keeping his life if he let you rot? He’s a disgusting excuse for a man, he should’ve never gotten impatient and snatched you up. If you ever escaped successfully, it wouldn’t be for long. He’d brood for a week or so- that’s your period to get the fuck out of the country- and then go hunting for the only thing keeping him going.
Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?
Total reverence. Leone absolutely adores you, you make him a better man. He pretties himself up entirely for you- you’re his main motivation for everything. He can’t be lazy, who wants a lazy boyfriend? He can’t be so slovenly, who wants to make out with that? Leone gets rather meticulous about his makeup, Mista’s rushed him out of their shared bathroom more times than he can remember. Get a vanity, man, you’re interfering with poor Mista’s schedule.
Leone loves to just sit and watch you. He gives you space, careful not to step on your metaphorical toes, and just sits quietly to watch. He won’t look away if you look over while he’s giving you that stupid, lovestruck stare. He’s so lucky he gets to witness you. Your every need is taken care of, he’ll even get down on the ground to rub your feet if you told him to- as long as you’re doing what he wants. If you break his fantasy of you actually liking him, he falls into a bit of a depressive rut, and slacks a bit with your needs.

GGSB Fest 2024 - A Terrible Family
@goodgodfathersiriusblack
Prompt - Trials
After Sirius returns from the veil, he gets Harry to understand that he could (and should) make the Dursleys face justice and thus, a trial commences.
AO3
***
Sirius knows that this isn’t a terribly good thing for Harry.  They’ve talked about it extensively since he came back from the veil, and although Sirius tried to understand that the Dursleys were forced to keep Harry thanks to Dumbledore, it wasn’t enough of a reason to let that terrible family get away with what they did to Harry.
The abuse that he suffered was not okay and they deserve to see trial.
Thus, after some time of discussing it over and over again, Sirius finally convinced Harry to take their treatment of him to the authorities – it helped, of course, that Harry’s mind healer had encouraged him to do it as well.
It’d taken months of investigation by the muggle authorities, but just after Harry finished his final year at Hogwarts, the trial was set to begin.
Sirius appears in the doorway of Harry’s room.  “Are you ready?”
Harry sighs.  “No, but Healer Jackson said I probably won’t feel … certain about all this until the trial is over.  Once the jury and the judge agree that it wasn’t right what they did to me and that they will face whatever the judge deems necessary that I would feel better.”
“Do you believe her?”
Harry shrugs.  “I don’t know, but we haven’t spent months with the investigation not to see it through.”
“I’ll be there, every step of the way.”
“I know,” Harry states.  “And that’s what is going to get me through this.”
“Good, I’m glad.”
“Now, let’s go get this over with.”
“Alright, then.”
***
The trial didn’t last very long.  A couple of days, max. The Dursleys had fought hard that it wasn’t their fault – they never wanted him, and he took away from their son… yadda yadda, but the witnesses that the solicitor focused on what they’ve seen of Harry and the Dursleys and not what they’ve heard… put things into perspective.
Harry and Dudley’s own testimonies had been thought to help the Dursleys’ case (according to their solicitor) but turns out to have to made it worse.
Which is why the outcome was solidly guilty.  They were both sentenced to twenty-five years in prison.
They yelled horrible things at Harry when they were hauled away, and Harry turns to Sirius and hugs him.  He buries his face in Sirius’ neck as Sirius rubs circles on his back.
He feels … conflicted.
In one way, it’s nice to know that others felt that what they did was so terrible … that they were a terrible family to him and have to pay for what they did to him.
In another way, it hurt… he had tried not to look at Dudley as the trial went on, when it became clearer and clearer what was going to happen… the way they’d talked about the cupboard, the rooms, the getting locked up, and so many other things… he could see that the jury and the judge were furious… the outcome was obvious…
And looking at Dudley, he could see a pain in his eyes… the same pain Harry dealt with day in and day out when he lived with the knowledge that his so-called family were so terrible and didn’t love him… except his eyes were being opened to how terrible it all was… of course, for Dudley, now he was the one alone … and that hurts.
He never wanted that for him.
There’s a cough behind him.
He doesn’t have to let go of Sirius to know that it must be Dudley.
“Er, Harry?”
Harry let's go of Sirius and turns to face him.  “Dudley…”
“I just wanted to say… that I am so sorry,” Dudley states.  “For everything… I can’t even begin to…”
“It’s not on you, Dudley,” Harry states, cutting him off.  As hard as it is to forgive him (and he hasn’t quite forgiven him), he can’t blame him when they were both taught to be as they are by terrible parents that wanted them to be opposites – one loved, one unloved.  “We were kids.”
“Yeah, but…”
“And I know that doesn’t erase what’s happened between us, but … you’re dealing with enough right now – don’t add guilt over what happened as kids to it.”
Dudley nods and offers his hand.  “Maybe someday we could… get together?”
Harry nods and shakes his hand.  “Maybe someday.”
“Good.”
Dudley leaves and Harry turns to Sirius.  “I’m so … drained right now…”
Sirius gives an understanding look.  “That’s expected.  Why don’t we go home, and you rest?  Whenever you’re ready to talk about it – with me or with Healer Jackson – we can do that.”
“Thanks, Pads.”
“Anytime, kid.”

x
Joanna is a couple of days away from being three. Time really does fly, especially when you're a parent. Just yesterday, you were holding her in your arms after you'd given birth. Despite feeling like a failure and a bad mother, you wanted her to have the best birthday party ever. You had gotten her everything she wanted off the small list she gave you along with a few extra things.
The Men of Letters provide you with more than a safe space. Their bank account has millions in it since they made sure this place would always be up and running. You're trying to get everything ready including the guest list which consists of you, Sam, Dean, hopefully Castiel, and maybe Charlie. You've been in touch with her ever since the events with her mother unfolded.
She wanted to hunt and help other people, and while you were weary about it at first, you got on board once you saw how prepared she was. She promised to give you a call if she ever needs you, but she hasn't besides to say hello.
You haven't told Sam to Dean about her hunting because you know how they will react. Charlie can handle herself, and she is smart so you know she won't make stupid mistakes. You'll make it a point to call her when you have time, but right now, you're hanging with Castiel.
Ever since he became human, you've been showing him the ropes. He wanted to be close without wanting to suffocate Dean, so he lives in Lawrence which is about a three-and-a-half-hour drive from the Bunker. He's close but far enough to where he can have his own life. It hurts you to have kicked him out, and that's part of the reason why you feel like you need to help him.
If only you had fought for him harder.
You had bought him some ice cream, and the two of you decided to take a walk while eating it to get some fresh air.
"I never realized how good human food was," Castiel smiles.
"Yeah, it's sugary sweet. You should keep a balanced diet if you want to be healthy. Though, Dean doesn't."
"Yes, I know all about his desire to eat bacon and pie all the time."
"You know, I'm sorry for what happened the last time we were all together. If it were up to me I'd have let you stay," you sigh.
You two turn right into a small neighborhood with beautiful two-story houses.
"Why can't I?"
It's his innocence that makes you want to tell him about Ezekiel and Sam, but you bite your tongue. Dean would never forgive you if you told him before agreeing on it.
"Dean is having a hard time right now. Trust me, telling you to leave was one of the hardest decisions he's ever had to make. I can't really talk about it, though. I'm really sorry." You come across one of the houses, but instead of passing by it, you stop in front of it. "The best thing I can do for you is provide you with a home."
"What?"
"Follow me."
You lead him through the small gate out front, up the porch steps, and to the front door. You take out the key and unlock the door before heading inside.
"This house is fully furnished and you don't have to pay anything. This can be your new home."
"You did all of this for me?" he asks in disbelief.
"You're my family, Castiel. I want to hang out with you and talk to you, and I'd rather do that in a house than on the streets. Here, this is all yours," you smile and hand over the key. "I am eternally grateful for you because you've looked out for me for my entire life, even before I knew who you were. I'm lucky to have someone like you in my life."
You show him the entire first floor, but you don't go upstairs. He can explore it all he wants when you leave, which needs to be now. You look at your watch and realize Dean is almost home from putting Kevin in a hotel to stay in for the weekend. Kevin's been working so hard, and he deserves a break from reality.
If you leave now, you should get home when he does.
"Look, I have to go now, but please call me if you need anything. I'll help you in any way I can. I'll try to come over as much as I can to hang out with you." You pull him in for a hug. "Keep your head up. You will survive this." You pull away from him after you give him a kiss on the cheek. "Relax and maybe watch a movie."
"Thank you. So much," he smiles.
You wink at him as you leave, and you hop into the car you rented since Dean used the Impala. You enjoy the three and half hours back by yourself without kids or the annoying bickering between the brothers. When you pull into the Bunker, you realize Dean isn't here yet. Though, two minutes later, he pulls in.
"Where were you?" Dean asks and gets out of the car.
"With Castiel. If we're going to kick him out, then I need to at least give him a home to live in. He's living in Lawrence if you're at all interested."
"Y/N, come on. I had to do that."
"Yeah, I know. Sam's dying. It doesn't make it suck any less."
The two of you head inside the Bunker through the front door, and you look down to see Sam in the war room with Joanna, Maryann, and Zeus. Joanna is playing with her dollhouse with Maryann crawling around inside the blow-up playmat you got her. Zeus is lying down next to them, watching them have fun. Joanna moves her dolls up and down Zeus' back as she talks for them, but he doesn't seem to mind.
"Hey, how did it go with Kevin?" Sam asks.
He doesn't know you've been with Castiel, and you're going to keep it that way right now.
"Oh, that little nerd is in a lovely warded hotel room in Wichita. He's got about forty-eight hours of pay-per-porn."
"How is he feeling?"
"Well, he stared at the Angel tablet for so long that he kept repeating the word 'falafel' the entire ride." You and Dean make your way down the stairs. "The kid's cracked. I'm hoping this break will clear his head. You know, after everything that happened, I figured we could use a little break ourselves," Dean places a plastic bag onto the war table and takes out a box set of one of his favorite shows, "so I picked you up season one of Game of Thrones. I figured we'd get a little takeout."
"First, I think I might have found a way to help Cas."
"Did you talk to him?" you ask and look at Dean.
"No. By the way, I still don't understand why he left in the first place. I mean, the bunker is the safest place for him. Bartholomew and who knows how many other angels are out there gunning for him."
"Hey, look, nobody wants him here more than I do, okay? He felt like he'd bring trouble down on us, so he had to split. If you have a way to help him, I'm all ears."
Dena hates lying but he has to in order to keep up the facade.
"Alright. Kevin said the table lit up like a Christmas tree when the angels fell, right? Well, it turns out each light was where a cluster of angels fell. So, I'm thinking maybe there's some way to hot-wire this and make it track angels. That way, we could help Cas steer clear of danger."
"Was this your idea?"
"Do you see anyone else here?"
You're worried Ezekiel put that idea in his hand, but it's clear he's none the wiser.
"How would it work?" you ask.
"I have no idea. See, at first, I thought the table was the computer but it's not. It turns out it's just part of it. I did find these cables underneath and I followed them. You're never gonna believe what I found. Come on."
Since Joanna is too young to watch after herself much less her sister, you have to bring them with you.
"Come on, girls. You can play with your toys later. Let's go see what Uncle Sammy wants to show us."
You pick Maryann up, and Joanna follows you with her dolls in hand. Since everyone else is leaving, Zeus gets up and trots behind everyone. Sam leads you three downstairs to the electrical room. It has a bunch of electrical panels everywhere, and there is a big computer sitting in the middle of the room. This computer is about waist-high, and it's the length of your kitchen table. It's huge.
"Is this a computer?" you gasp.
"Yeah, or it was in 1951 when it was installed. Now, here's the crazy thing. It's not plugged into anything. I mean, I have no idea what's making this thing work."
Dean lays his hand flat on the back of it and moves it around until he pauses in the middle of it.
"It's warm here. Y/N, can you get this open?"
"Easy."
You hand Maryann to her father, and he throws her inches into the air before catching her. She lets out an infectious giggle, and he does it two more times. You stretch your hand out and form a ball of magic on top of your palms, and the screws begin to unwind. Dean backs up while playing with Maryann, and he ends up knocking into a shelf, knocking over a few bottles.
"Whoops."
"Be careful with her."
"I got it," he waves his hand at you.
The panel slides off once the screws are gone, and you move it out of the way to see what's inside. The computer is full of wires and parts you don't recognize.
"Well, that looks simple," you say sarcastically. "Does it come with a manual?"
"Nothing in the archives and I obviously couldn't find anything like it online. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure that the Men of Letters doesn't exactly have I.T. support anymore, either."
"I know someone who can help us," you grin. "Come on."
You three leave the electrical room while you take out your phone to contact Charlie. She is very smart and knows all about computers, so you're hoping she will know more about this than you. If not, then you get to say hi to a good friend.
It's a win-win.
"Alright, Charlie is on her way. Joanna, why don't you play in your room until she comes?" Joanna doesn't have to be told twice. Zeus barks twice before following her to her playroom. "I wanted to talk to you about Joanna's birthday party. Do you have any presents?"
"An overabundance of them, yes," Dean says proudly.
"You're not supposed to spoil her."
"She's my princess. Of course, I have to. This party will be good for her."
You can't be too upset over this. She does deserve the world, and if giving her tons of presents means that, then you'd fill a room with them.

Let’s just calm down. Not ruin somebody else’s wedding preparation
Tumblr media
*He continues along the beaches until, in the distance, he spots Kobo sitting on the sand. His expression is blank, eyes trained on the motion of the waves that are hitting the shore*
Tumblr media
*He lets out a small sigh of relief* Kobo...*He walks up to him and without looking up at him, Kobo says*
Kobo: He’s right, y’know?
Tumblr media
Huh?
Kobo: Yokozawa. About me. About...you. And Rina. I don’t deserve you guys, it’s like he said. You guys are way too nice for me- AGH!!
Tumblr media
*Pulling gently on his ear* What are you saying? You don’t get to decide whether or not you’re deserving of mine and Rina-san’s time; we decide who’s worth our time. *He lets go, Kobo looks up at him in surprise*
Tumblr media
I think we’ve both made it pretty clear that you’re worth all the time in the world. *He sits down next to Kobo and rests his head on Kobo’s shoulder*
Kobo: *He rests his head on top of Ryuu’s* Still...all I do is cause problems for everyone around us. The trial, the time Kemuri’s robot attacked the base...I just...add fuel to the fire.
Tumblr media
You made mistakes, but we all have.
Kobo: And maybe he’s right...maybe I am too harsh on Yokozawa.
Tumblr media
...fuck Yokozawa.
Kobo: *He turns his head and looks at Ryuu incredulously* Say that again?
Tumblr media
I said fuck Yokozawa. Fuck his attitude, fuck his opinions about you- he doesn’t even know you! And fuck him for saying all that stuff back there just because he was angry at himself because he doesn’t know how to organise a wedding. Maybe if he made some common sense and asked Kurohiko-san like any smart person would, this wouldn’t have all happened.
Kobo: *Grins* When the hell did you get so crass?
Tumblr media
Around the same time you learned the word ‘crass’. *The two laugh together for a bit*
Tumblr media
...hey, Kobo? Can I ask you something?
Kobo: Mmm?
Tumblr media
Was there a reason you never gave Yokozawa a chance? Not that I think you’re wrong for choosing not to- but I always wondered if you had another reason for choosing not to.
Kobo: ...fuck. Even after all this time I never got around to telling you, did I?
Tumblr media
So there is another reason.
Kobo: Yeah. You could say that...*He takes breath* Those two weeks between the start of the riots and the attack on Hope’s Peak...some rioters...they broke into my house. Killed my mom.
Tumblr media
...
Kobo: I found out about it because I saw her name in one of the casualty reports. Nobody could even properly contact me about it. I just had to find out through a fucking news story. And my mom, she was the best. Even though we were poor as dirt, she did everything to make sure I had clothes and books and food- I honestly dunno how she did it. I gotta wonder how many favours she must’ve owed our neighbours.
Kobo: We...fought a lot. I was more rash back then than I am now, especially before I started working as a tour guide. I think I caused her a lot of stress because I always got into fights, but she always just cleaned me up and made me my favourites for dinner. She was just...like that. Way too forgiving of a pretty shitty son. *He laughs bitterly* She would’ve loved you. She always wondered where my manners and shit went. If she met you, she would’ve done a double take and probably quizzed you about why you’d give me the time of day. She’d be joking, obviously. And god, she’d probably have cooked enough food for the whole street for you and Rina alone. Jeez, if she met Rina she’d probably never let her leave the damn house.
Kobo: ...but you can’t meet her. Nobody I care about can meet her. Because Yokozawa’s ass-backwards idea to become a fucking hero made her a fucking casualty. *He swallows hard* And- *He clears his throat and exhales* And it- it’s so shit...because if she saw you- and Rina- and the people I’ve gotten to become friends with it’s like...it’s like I could’ve said “Hey, sorry for making you worry for so long. But I’ve finally learned how to live without making you stress about me. L...Look at these guys who think I’m worth their time! That’s gotta count for something’, right mom?”
Kobo: ...Fuck! *He buries his head in his hands and brushes away the tears that start to flow* All- all I want is her to see me now. Now that I’m not just some fuck up that only ever caused her problems and grief. And I wanna tell- *hic* tell her that I love her and tell how thank- *hic* thankful I am for her and everything she did. I wouldn’t even be alive without her- never would have gotten to Hope’s Peak and met you. And Yokozawa took her away.
Tumblr media
*Kobo buries his head into Ryuu’s chest and wraps his arms tightly around him as he sobs into his shirt* Oh...Kobo...*tentatively, Ryuu wraps his arms around Kobo, slowly rubbing circles into his back and letting him cry. Not daring to move an inch*

Tumblr media
Miguel O’Hara has high-cut cheekbones and wispy eyelashes and insists on holding you close after you both finish. He claims that it stabilizes his breathing quicker so he can then tend to you, whom he unknowingly loves enough to forget what waits for him beyond your bed. A meticulous, waiting gaze watches you; blissfully lost, you open your eyes to the kiss on your forehead. It’s a relief that follows and is always ready for you. Your hands need something to ground to.
There are strong arms, a firm chest, and everything warm. Miguel pulls the blanket up where his hands don’t reach.
“You okay?”
You nod, breathless, hiding your face in the crook of his neck. “Yeah, I— I’m good.”
You were exhausted. Miguel doesn’t half-ass anything— never has and never will— and you were no exception. As insatiable as he can be, he makes a point of his gratitude. Those feverish kisses everywhere will stay with you. His hands, relentless but forgiving, sought for more tonight.
“Tired?” He sounds more composed now.
You can’t help but scoff. “No shit, Miguel. I’m worn out.”
A begrudging quip makes him chuckle. It’s low and throaty, reverberating where you hear it beautifully. His hands, one on your head and the other on the small of your back bring you a smidge closer. You’re fine like this: tangled in skin and sheets and kissing wherever your lips can reach. Miguel knows this because you’re quiet and receptive. Bashful excitement buzzes in his chest, knowing you’d never pull away from this.
For him, you’d undress down to the nerves. Hand him shears to cut away the bone that protects your heart to watch how it reacts to his exploratory touch. You reel from the memory of his kisses down your sternum every time he goes lower.
“Good.” His laugh is breathy. “I aim to please.”
You laugh with him, playfully shoving his shoulder as he brings his head to rest atop yours, cradling you like a wounded animal.
“Real funny, Mig. But I know I’m not the only one who’s tired.”
Now you sound more composed. This proximity gives you a view of his clean collarbones. Hardly do either of you spend these intimate moments without marking each other; you want to ignore the pull of your lips into a smile when you see his skin glowing. Instead, you thumb the contour of his collarbone.
He sighs, and you melt. “No doubt, hermosa. You’re a lot of work, y’know.”
“As if you’re not.”
His sturdy arm keeps your head up, finding his eyes in that heartbeat. It's the afterglow and balmy light that softens the angles of his face. He looks kind even if he feels perpetually tired. Rest looks sweet on him; it’s a gorgeous distraction. When your eyes flutter, Miguel wrestles that knee-jerk reaction to kiss you.
He hums. He’s white-knuckling that yearning. “I don’t think I’ll be leaving anytime soon.”
“Not if the multiverse has anything to say about that.” You huff.
Miguel comes to you with too much on his mind, heavy shoulders, and weary eyes. It didn’t take long to learn the kind of person he is in your bed— and soon enough, you happily welcomed him with any sign of his fading resistance. Soon enough, you provided more than just your bed for comfort. He fought against it at first, gently swatting away your hands when they would graze the ache and tiredness in his limbs. Whether he stopped resisting that relief or you were too stubborn for him, lovingly, he gave up.
“You’re all work and no play. Well—” You gaze down, beaming when you see how close both of you are. “Some play. I stand corrected.”
“Qué te puedo decir? I’m a busy man. You’re one to talk, though.” He leans in and you feel his grin against your cheek. “You sure know how to make me work for it.”
[What can I tell you?]
Embarrassed until you hear the tinge of exhaustion and satisfaction in his voice, you grin back. “I need my fun too, Mig.”
He looks down at you, but the vision before you occupies your attention. The sculpture of his muscle and how light bends across it— ruthlessly beautiful. Your hand finds his heart and you watch how he takes a deep breath beneath your palm. He spreads his lungs on the bed, watching you hesitate less than he does.
Something that you want to bring your lips to. Something that should remain a temptation. It’s a dream before you.
“What, sweetheart?”
Miguel enjoys catching you staring at him. You’ve appreciated him graciously when he gives back in bed, but he caught on whenever you took the lead. He didn’t know he had a dream in your shape until he left one night, vividly recalling the praises, looks, and kisses you engraved into him. Easily, he could have lasted a while on his own just with the thought of you, but he craves how you look at him.
Faintly, you grin and whisper, “Nothing. You look pretty.”
It catches him off-guard, surprisingly. His hand squeezes the one you have on his chest. When your eyes meet again, you take in the breath he let go of. Miguel searches your face for something to tell him you want more.
“No sé que hay en esta cabezita para decirme algo así.” Miguel doesn’t hold back his amusement, even less so when you have that faraway look in your eyes.
[I’m not sure what’s in this little head to tell me something like that.]
“M’just saying.” You add, not wanting to break into giggles at his face.
Miguel shakes his head, closing his eyes and kissing your forehead. His arms cage you, bringing you to him as he lays on his back. Resting on his chest, a soft spot inside you, a bruise of some sort, aches when you see how at peace Miguel is. Your head lies in your crossed arms to watch him.
***
(You’re sitting on the bed, grabbing bunches of sheets to keep warm. The back of your hand rubs your eyes while you spare a glance at Miguel’s back. Broad, hunched over, sighing. You’re mesmerized— as if he hadn’t just made you see stars every time you close your eyes.
Miguel always chases your gaze whenever he talks you through it; he loves eye contact, knowing you’re as desperate as he is. A carnal yearning you both seem to exchange, but it was nothing like the way his lips just missed yours just after you both came. You almost went into shock when that potential kiss met the corner of your mouth.
“Miguel,” He looks over his shoulder at you. “I’m fine. More than fine, you know, but for real— I’m okay.”
“I know.” Miguel breathes and looks away. “I was just worried for a second.”
He’d been having a rough week, and his visit was overdue. Eagerly, you encourage him to let it all go with you. However, that kiss— or, more appropriately, the helpless effort that ended in his lips smearing grunted praises against your cheek— was born from something that had been there long before rough weeks and missed priority calls. In the moment it happened, you were tempting him: lips plush and parted, hands cradling his face, folded beneath him, pliable and taking him sweetly. After he missed your mouth, it snapped for him, and he nearly lost control of his driving thrusts.
The truth drives him mad, seen now as he feared almost hurting you from his desire. Nothing new but pent-up frustration— regardless, I’m sorry, baby.
Your hand reaches for his back, palming his shoulder when he jumps at your touch. “Don’t apologize, Mig. You’ve never done anything I couldn’t take.”
Miguel takes your hand and kisses it, lacing his fingers with yours. He looks back at you and wonders what he’s done right in a world of mistakes, rushed judgment, and unfinished ambitions. That tired smile of yours shucks off all that burden.
“If you say so.” He leans over to kiss your temple.
You don’t even need to tug him over— he’s already got his hands on you when you reach for his other shoulder. He looks at you all over, but for you, nothing misses your trained eye. The gentle bob of his throat, the twitch of his lips, the way his posture falls when you take his hand into both of yours. He can do so much with those hands, and you know that very well; Miguel gives, gives, and gives, not knowing where he starts and when to stop. But you’re different.
As weightless as you make him feel, his slumped shoulders still make him look tense. Your voice comes out impossibly soft when you utter the following words: “Tell me what’s on your mind.”
And his guard lets down.
“Took some of your advice, and I’ve been fixing a lot of machinery because I figured it’d be a relief to fix it myself— you know, because I built everything. But that meant all the technicians went overboard with their questions, asking me why I didn't do this or why I did that.”
You wince as you trace his palm and each finger. An innocent effort to take his mind off things, only to be overwhelmed by the technicians.
“Peter B always has his baby at every meeting. I’m in the middle of briefing everyone, and suddenly, you hear him talking to her in a baby voice.” He groans, recalling Peter’s sickly sweet voice.
You giggle, imagining Miguel getting upstaged by a baby’s cooing. It’s not the first time he’s complained about that; it doesn’t take much for him to explain himself, as you’ve been an ear to many of the same problems more than once.
Miguel sighs, but it slips by you. He gets distracted watching you fixate on his talons. A few seconds of silence makes you look at him, blinking when Miguel stares back.
“And?” You say. Miguel looks down again.
He shakes his head as he watches his talons poke through. Not much else is on his mind except you. Just you.
“Nothing else. I’m just enjoying this too much right now.” He chuckles.)
***
It’s funny how quickly Miguel forgets that there’s a world outside your home, let alone the multiverse. Every time he recalls this particular night, it feels like a dream, curled in the sheets of your bed, the quiet staccato of rain hitting the window, watching you drift into sleep under the warmth of your hand resting atop his heartbeat.
The first time he stayed the night.
From the start, he never left immediately. Inconsiderate, he stated matter-of-factly. Then it became, I’m supposed to just leave you after we did that? And more recently, in that deliciously exhausted voice, Make some room for me, sweetheart.
Miguel has not done many things right, and he thinks it’s been a while since he’s done something for his own good. He looks at you in his peripherals, lying on your stomach beside him and messing with his hand, and you look— no one can be this beautiful. Is this too good to be true?— soft. Young. Peaceful.
He’s seen you do the same ritual with his hand during aftercare. Flattening his hand against yours, the other nestling it below, fingertips walking across knuckles, drawing circles and forgotten patterns on his palm, thumbing the calloused spots and scrutinizing the lines. Oh, during that part especially.
When your eyes sharpen, concentrating on this process, it reminds him of a palm reader. Sometimes, you talk him through your day or some nonsense that’s also been on your mind when you do this. Yet, Miguel feels nervy under the intensity of your gaze; his heart is dangerously close to punching through his chest, floored when the right poke causes his talons to show. Imperceptibly, he grins when they retract and rise with every jab.
“Can I kiss you?”
Now and always, nonplussed and wide-eyed in the cozy light of your bedroom, you’re precious to him. So wonderful that it makes whatever words would have followed mangle in his throat, makes his heart ache. You look at his claws thoughtfully, slowly lowering your brows and melting when he clasps his hand with yours.
You stare at his lips for a moment. “You want to kiss me again.”
So you haven’t forgotten about that miserable attempt. Miguel huffs, feeling his ego throb when he remembers that blunder. He’s a sore loser with the smile of a winner.
“Yeah, kiss you again.” He says again like he’s mocking you a little.
Maybe it’s because you didn’t expect him to ask, cringing with a giggle when you remember that kiss. This is perhaps Miguel tightrope walking on a confession, but there’s a safety net below, and when he falls, it’s clumsy but with no risk. A free fall of sorts. He knows this isn’t the best way to ask— the romantic and mushy way— but that’s okay. More than okay, actually, as he grins at the flicker of something impossible playing out in your eyes.
He turns on his side, leveling a finger at your lips, prodding at the edges. “Can I try again?”
You’d love it if he did. Quietly, you speak, “Okay.”
And then it happens too quickly. It’s not fair— the rumble of his chuckle meeting your mouth startles you, unprepared for a fleeting second until you swallow the surge of your stomach and kiss Miguel back.
It’s not any better for him either; his heart goes at a rabbit’s pace, running in circles and thrashing in his ribcage. Burning at the back of his neck, he fears he’ll singe your hand holding him there. He’s touched you before (in every sense of the word), but he restrains all teeth and nails against that soft sound you make.
Miguel is back to that night again— rain pattering outside, some forgotten playlist crooning amid sheets and pillows, watching you: a dream. He adores you, like observing something magical and unknown beneath a glass dome, reverent and precious. Then, his breath staggers when you part his lips with the tip of your tongue.
Your back meets the cold sheets when he hovers over you, arching into him, forcing the lines of your body to converge and connect with his. Any closer, and you’d be able to crawl into his skin. This all-consuming want that blazes everything in its path needs no kindling in the hearth of your bed. He catches on quickly, hand hooking on the small of your back, implacable and firm. When your fingers card through the tousled mess of his hair, giving it a tentative pull, Miguel groans and murmurs some honeyed nonsense against the base of your throat. It comes out runny and from the same rumbling laugh that caught you off-guard at the start of this.
Miguel is certain he’ll die here. He’s breathless seeing the wet pink of your mouth, then stuttering when you smile. You give him no other response than that smile, along with a laugh that makes his heart soar and stomach dive. All he can do is bring that smile to his, over and over and over again.

“If you don’t mind, father, that’s something I’d like to discuss with my bride alone and in private.” Itachi’s voice is stern and it reminds you of how he defended you against your fathers the last time when the topic of your wedding night came up. Even now you’re still a little surprised by how easily he dares to defy and talk back to his father. Neji would never be so rude and disrespectful.
Turning his attention back towards you, Itachi lets go of your hand even though he really doesn’t want to and rubs the back of his neck since he knows you’re going to hound him with questions until you get your answer about how you are to be bonded to him.
“Did you get everything packed up? I want you to be as comfortable as possible so you’re welcome to bring all that you desire. Our home has plenty of space for it.” His smile is charming, much less devilish than his smirk but you refuse to smile back or even acknowledge what he’s saying to you, instead walking away with your bridesmaids which makes him chuckle nervously.
“She’ll uh, she’ll come around.” He says to reassure your parents, elbowing Sasuke when he lets out a snort since he knows you’ll never come around to your new husband.
I huff as Hinata and Sakura try to calm me down, but I want nothing more than to take off the stupid dress and fly back to the heavens and into Neji's arms. I fought back the need to scream and cry since I did not want to seem weak. "Hinata, do you know anything about this 'mark'?" I ask once we were out of ear shot and into the room where most of our things were stored.
Hinata shook her head. She was an expert on things that revolves around in the demon realm. "I haven't really looked into the that side of the Demons. Sorry, Princess."
Sakura sighs a bit dreamily. "I bet its something really intimate and romantic." she flinches when I direct a glare at her as I drop a box in front of her. I just knew she was thinking about that younger demon that was hell bent on flirting with her. "Forgive me, Kirei."
I sigh out and pinch the bridge of my nose. I know that I couldn't stop Sakura from developing a crush on the younger Uchiha and since I'm one now too - that thought burns to think about; I shouldn't get upset with her. "It's okay, Sakura. I know you were just projecting your own feelings. Let' just get this stuff out for the demons to carry down, yeah?" I will hound Itachi about this later for sure.

i liked that the show didn’t just focus on kanej; don’t get me wrong I love kanej with my whole heart but they also focused on kaz’ relationship with jesper quite a bit. because in the end he goes after jesper and not inej. you can see he hesitates when inej leaves but he’s still thinking rationally. he knows that if he goes he’ll die, they’ll all die and damn he cares for inej but he narrowly escaped the darkling once and he isn’t all that sure he’ll manage again and this isn’t really for inej anyway because it’s for alina-
and then jesper says fuck it if you won’t do anything i will and leaves and kaz immediately follows - and kaz isn’t one to do something because of peer pressure. he did it for jesper. And even more: he covers jesper. he pulls him out of the crossfire and uses his own body as a shield when the darkling uses the cut, despite how triggering that must’ve been for him.
he steals his drink and has confided in him somewhat because jesper has at least an idea of what motivates kaz.
idk it just means a lot to me because in the books kaz doesn’t really express how much he cares about jesper and while i love how bittersweet it is, I’m still sad about it

“Despair” and Dean and Cas
Well well well, winning is my favorite thing.
As usual, this is going to be as long as hell. And fair warning, it’s extremely emotional.
So here it is, the thing that we have been barrelling towards for years, literally years.
Just want to point out this.  Also, I will NEVER allow someone to speak negatively about this writing group, EVER.
Team Free Dads starting off the episode is so sweet, so scary.  Cas’ calming, Dean’s fear, Sam’s desperation, really just hammering home how much they love Jack, how his pain is pain for them, how losing him is unbearable.
“I can’t stop this.  I’m coming apart.  I don’t want to hurt you.  Don’t let me hurt you.”
Oof.  If you’ve ever question whether Jack is a Winchester, this line should shut that shit down for you.
When I tell you I was PISSED when Billie sent Jack to the Empty to EXPLODE?????  PAIN.
“Yeah the Empty can’t come to earth, not without being summoned.”
Hello Bobo, clue number 1.
The fact that they only had Jack in limbo for like five seconds was great for my heart health, thank u very much Bobo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also Dean wielding Death’s scythe?????? KING?????
Tumblr media
Man, Sam and Dean’s growth.  The way that they’re able to, idk, actually speak on how they feel without death looming or fear or pain.  It’s just a conversation, just an honest conversation of Dean admitting his mistakes, admitting how he felt.  Admitting that he fucked up, and Sam forgiving him for it.
Tumblr media
CHARLIE AND HER GF CHARLIE AND HER GF CHARLIE AND HER GF
Also...hunters and their “dates.”  Two hunters who are happily together, who are happily fighting monsters.  Hm.  Sounds like a Saileen/Destiel parallel to me boys.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You ever wish Cas would look and the mirror and take the great advice he gives others?  Because I do.  He’s always tried to be “useful” for Sam and Dean, for Jack, always tried to make sure that he’s useful enough that they keep him around.  But what he doesn’t understand, what he’s never understood, is that they need him because of who he is, not because of what he contributes.
Tumblr media
Remind y’all of anything?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here we have Clue Number 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then, Sam’s realization.  Eileen.
Did I begin full tilt screaming no in my apartment when he said her name?  Who’s to say?
Tumblr media
How can a lock screen cause me this much pain????
Okay but: Charlie loses Stevie, Sam loses Eileen.  Clue Number 3.
Tumblr media
I feel like I don’t talk enough about how much Sam loves Eileen.  About how obvious it is that they are endgame, about how happy he is when he talks about her.  This just feels like a blow to the stomach, but we’ve barely even started.
Sam immediately shifting into protective leader mode?  He is the love of my life.
Tumblr media
Dean’s simple nod, like it’s a given?  Enough to do me in right there.
This is another episode where it’s just so clear that Sam is the leader of the North American hunters.  Everyone knows him, everyone is willing to follow him.  He’s knowledgeable and kind and fair and just and an incredibly capable fighter.  Once again, I don’t believe his work on earth is done.
Can we also please talk about how FRIGHTENING IT WAS for Jack to kill that plant???  I don’t really have much of a comment on it because I was literally just like ?????
With Billie saying that it’s Chuck, the way that people were dusted, very similar to Becky and Amara, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised, especially with Donna getting taken off the board.  It’s like I said last week, I don’t buy that he’s taken himself off the board, he’s too invested in the unraveling of this story to take a step back.  He’s gotta break them before he can defeat them, that’s the only way.
And here we go, into one of the most painful and surreal things I will ever write about.
Dean’s speech.  His guilt, his regret.  The shame of not only trapping himself, but the pain, the horror of trapping Cas.
“I just lead us into another trap.  All because I, I couldn’t hurt Chuck.  Because I was angry and because I just needed something to kill, and because that’s all I know how to do.”
“Dean-”
“It was Chuck all along.  We never should have left Sam and Jack, we should be there with them now.  Everybody’s gonna die, Cas.  Everybody.  I can’t stop it.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His narrative arc.  Tied up in a bow.
“She’s gonna get through that door.”
“I know.”
“And she’s gonna kill you and then she’s gonna kill me.  I’m sorry.”
Tumblr media
Cas smiles.
Cas knows.  He knows what’ll get them out of this, and he knows that he would do anything in this Universe for Dean Winchester. The human man he fell for.
“When Jack was dying, I made a deal to save him.”
“You what?”
“The price was my life.  When I experienced a moment of true happiness, the Empty would be summoned and it would take me forever.”
“Why are you telling me this now?”
“I always wondered, ever since I took that burden, that curse, I’ve wondered what it could be, what my true happiness could even look like.  I never found an answer, because the one thing I want, it’s something I know I can’t have.
Tumblr media
“But I think I know, I think I know now...happiness isn’t in the having, it’s in just being.  It’s in just saying it.”
“What are you talking about, man?”
The most selfless thing Cas does in this, and he does a lot of selfless things, is to tell Dean Winchester how impossibly good he is.  To tell him that he is worthy, to tell him that he is adored.
Tumblr media
“I know, I know how you see yourself, Dean.  You see yourself the same way our enemies see you.  You’re destructive and you’re angry and you’re broken and you’re daddy’s blunt instrument.  And you think that hate and anger, that’s what drives you, that’s who you are.  It’s not.  And everyone who knows you sees it, and everything you have ever done, the good and the bad, you have done for love.  You raise your little brother for love, you fought for this whole world for love.  That is who you are.
Tumblr media
“You’re the most caring man on earth.  You are the most selfless, loving human being I will ever know.  You know, ever since we met, ever since I pulled you outta Hell...knowing you has changed me.
Tumblr media
“Because you cared, I cared.  I cared about you, I cared about Sam, I cared about Jack, I cared about the whole world because of you.
Tumblr media
“You changed me, Dean.”
“Why does this sound like a goodbye?”
Dean’s greatest fear. His fear of those loving him leaving him. The terror of being alone.
“Because it is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The head shake.  Don’t love me.  Don’t love me if it means you’ll leave me, don’t love me, everyone I love leaves me.  Don’t leave me.  Don’t love me.  Don’t leave me.
“Don’t do this, Cas.”
Tumblr media
Just like I always thought.  One last look at Dean before the Empty takes him.
“Cas-”
Tumblr media
“Goodbye Dean.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Dean is left, broken on the floor, unable to answer Sam’s calls, unable to do anything.  It doesn’t matter to him that Chuck has wiped everyone out, it doesn’t matter to him that Sam and Jack might need him.  It doesn’t matter.  It doesn’t matter, because the thing that mattered still hangs on his lips, still waiting to be said, and now he won’t get another chance to say it.
The fact that I am writing this, even with all my spec, with all my analysis of the writers’ room, of their text, of the way Dabb and co had approached this story, nothing could have ever prepared me for this.  Nothing could have prepared me for a three and a half minute, uninterrupted scene where Cas confesses not only that he loves Dean, but that he has always loved him.
I talk a lot about how these writers don’t get the credit they deserve.  Unfortunately, from most of this fandom, they never will.  We will likely never know the fights with the network they had, the steps backward they had to take, the way they had to beg and fight and claw to get this on the screen.  But they did it.  They did it for these characters, they did it for this dinosaur of a show, and yeah, they did it for us.
It was not easy, I can promise you, to get this greenlit.  They had to fight for this, they likely had to call in favors and make threats and quite literally put their careers on the line (you may scoff at that, but WB is a BIG company, especially in the TV/movie world) for this story.  This story of Dean and Cas, the man dragged out of Hell and the angel who fell for him.
I have tons more to say, and will likely have several more posts about this, but I want to leave all my babes who are worried that that was the end for Dean and Cas with some takeaways.
Sam is missing Eileen.  Dean is missing Cas.  That is no longer a fun subtextual parallel, that is it for them.  Their respective endgames are missing, and they will not know their peace until they get them back.  Chuck will not win.  That’s not the story being told, and right now?  He’s winning.  He’s broken them, left them with nothing, left them with an empty world and a hole in each of their hearts where their person (or angel) used to be.
Our show is going to end with “contentment.”  “Contentment” isn’t from Sam and Dean being filled with grief and hitting the open road.  It isn’t Sam getting Eileen back and leaving Dean with no one.  “Contentment” is Sam and Eileen, Dean and Cas.  Together.

Perspective From Another Timeline
Thanks to my betas @steelblaidd and Izzybusy!
I ADORE @buggachat new Bakery Enemies AU. This idea just kept on swirling through my head, I had to write it! This is set between parts 13 and 14, so after Adrien meets Alya and Nino but before Marinette starts sympathizing with him. AO3
---------
“You okay?”
Alya shook her head, trying to clear it. “I’ll be fine. I’ve weathered worse than that - we both have.”
Nino grinned at her. “True that.”
Alya smiled at him fondly, remembering Heroes Day. It was a bittersweet memory, with her having been turned against Nino and them both being akumatized.
But they had fought to protect each other as best they could. She’d seen Prime Queen’s footage, how Carapace had struggled to get her to fight against Dark Cupid’s magic, how he’d only given into despair after she’d given into akumatization.
“What did that blast do to us?” Nino wondered. “Everyone else the akuma blasted just disappeared. Why’re we still here?”
Alya’s brow furrowed. “I dunno… hold on, let me check to see whether any new info on the akuma’s been uploaded.”
Pulling out her phone, she tapped on the Akuma News Alert app.
An error message popped up, telling her that she had no internet connection.
Puzzled, Alya checked her phone’s other settings.
No wifi - no wifi even recognized, much less connectable - no cell service, no connection to the outside world at all.
She glanced over at Nino. “Hey, you got any signal?”
Taking out his own phone, he quickly checked his connection. He shook his head. “Not a single bar.”
Frowning, Alya looked around. “Maybe all the cell towers were taken out?”
Everything looked intact though, no sign of any destruction at all.
Something else caught Alya’s eye. “Hey Nino, what time should it be?”
Nino blinked. “Well I mean lunch just started so it should be a little past noon-”
He glanced around, noticing the long shadows and the pinkish-orange of the evening sky.
“-which it clearly is not anymore,” he concluded.
Great. “Guess Ladybug and Chat Noir must’ve taken a while to defeat the akuma,” she said, putting her phone away. “Hopefully my parents aren’t too worried. They like me to text them just after an akuma attack, but right now…?” she gestured to her pocket.
“My folks aren’t as worried,” Nino said. “But they still expect me back home before the sun goes down. They’ll be getting nervous soon.”
Alya let out a small sigh. “So much for playing Super Penguino together.”
“Hmmm…” Nino’s eyes gleamed. “You know… it’s not night just yet. And I’m sure my parents would understand if I was a few minutes late because I grabbed a bite to eat.”
Grabbed a bite to eat? What was Nino hinting at…?
Alya looked around at their location more closely.
Wait… that blast seemed to have carried them to that one park, the one near-
Alya grinned. “I think my parents will forgive me for not calling in if I bring them fresh-baked treats from the best bakery in Paris.”
---
*ring ring*
The scent of freshly baked bread wafted through the store.
Instantly Alya felt her shoulders loosen up, releasing tension she didn’t even know she’d had. There was just something so warm and comforting about the bakery.
Of course, a lot of that was due to the people running it. Good luck finding more friendly, caring people than Marinette’s parents. Sabine often checked up on anyone who seemed to be struggling or upset (and ready to protect them if they were - Alya had seen the video of the time a TV crew decided to invade Marinette’s privacy), and Tom was basically a giant teddy bear in human form.
But neither of them were manning the counter today.
Instead a young woman stared back at them.
A very familiar-looking young woman.
“Marinette?” Alya asked cautiously.
The woman stared at her for a minute. “Alya?” she finally asked. “What happened to you?” She paled. “Did a new supervillain attack? Is that why you and Nino are younger?”
Huh. Weirdly scared reaction from Marinette. They’d all gotten used to supervillains by now. She’d expect an older Marinette to take them in stride even more than the current Marinette.
Hm… an older Marinette, a different time of day, and Marinette not seeming to know about the latest akuma attack?
“Marinette… what year is it?”
Marinette blinked for a moment. Her eyes widened.
Seemed Marinette understood what she was getting at.
She told Alya the date.
Her hunch was right. “We’re in the future,” Alya breathed.
A wicked grin slowly spread over her face.
Five years was a long time. A lot of things could have happened. A lot of information could’ve come to light.
Like Hawkmoth’s identity.
Or more information on the Miraculous.
But most importantly right now-
She leaned in close to Marinette, making sure to keep her voice down, just in case someone else was around in the back. “So did you ever get together with a certain blond-haired, green-eyed model?”
“Uh… what?” Marinette asked, looking puzzled.
Alya snapped her fingers. “Adrien. Did you and Adrien finally get together? Ooooh, if you did you’ve GOTTA tell me how the confession went! Or, no, wait, don’t tell me, I want to get the deets at the time. Just let me know how long I’ve got to wait, girl!”
Marinette just stared at her, slack-jawed. “Adrien… like ADRIEN AGRESTE?!” she said, her volume rising with every word.
Alya’s eyebrows flew up. “Um… yes…?”
She’d thought that Marinette would be glowing about finally getting together with her crush, or dejected about still not being able to spit out what she wanted to say to him, downcast over him rejecting her, or maybe even infuriated because he mistreated her and they subsequently broke up.
(The last one was VERY unlikely though. After the Felix debacle, she’d learned to have a bit more faith in Adrien’s good nature.)
Shock at the concept of dating him? Not something she’d anticipated.
Footsteps echoed from behind Marinette.
So one of Marinette’s parents must’ve been in the back-
Adrien popped his head around the corner.
Seemed both he AND Marinette had aged well.
Not that Adrien looked all that different. Taller, definitely, maybe with slightly messier hair and… were those earrings? They looked good on him.
“Hey dude!” Nino waved at his best friend. “What’s up?”
“Uh…” Adrien said, scratching the back of his neck.
“WOW those outfits really take the years off, huh?” Marinette said loudly, shoving them out the door. “Make you look smaller than usual. Well we better go talk about plans later okaybye-”
She promptly slammed the door behind them, physically pushing them away from the bakery.
After Marinette had dragged them a good distance away, Alya finally got over her shock, turning around and glaring at her. “What was that about?!” she asked Marinette indignantly, hands on her hips. “You know me, I wasn’t going to spill anything to him. That’s why I was talking so quietly! Why’d you have to do that?!”
Nino frowned, seeming more concerned than annoyed. “Adrien looked really hurt by that. Not cool.”
“There’s nothing to spill!” Marinette protested, gesticulating wildly. “I only met him for the first time two days ago!”
*record scratch*
Two-
Two DAYS ago?!
Ok, hold up.
“Adrien joined our collège class the day after I did! He sits in front of you in class! What’re you TALKING about?!”
“Uh… no…?” Marinette tilted her head to the side, befuddled. “I think I would remember that, even if it was a few years back.”
Alya let out a bark of laughter. “Yeah, no kidding. He would be uh, difficult for you to forget. Heck, even if your memory was erased, you’ve got so much stuff revolving around him, I couldn’t see that lasting long.”
Marinette blushed. “Why do you think I have a crush on him?! He’s HAWKMOTH’S SON!”
“WHAT?!” Alya and Nino yelled in unison.
“Ladybug and Chat Noir defeated Hawkmoth a couple years ago,” Marinette explained, pulling out her phone.
A moment later she held it up, showing a blog post from the Ladyblog.
Oooh, that’s a nice graphical design. I’ll have to look into updating my site, Alya thought.
Turning her attention to the picture, she squinted. “Hey, can you enlarge the photo?” She asked.
Marinette complied, enlarging it and turning her phone sideways, letting it fill the entire screen.
Gabriel Agreste being led away in handcuffs by the police, with Ladybug and Chat Noir in the background. Ladybug looked satisfied, with maybe a twinge of melancholy, but Chat Noir…
He stared vacantly ahead, seemingly not focused on anyone or anything, a smile on his face - but the most forced one she’d ever seen.
“What’s wrong with Chat Noir?”
Marinette frowned, looking troubled. “I don’t know. He seemed really, really upset when Hawkmoth was defeated. It was a tough battle, bad enough that neither of them have returned since, but that doesn’t explain why-”
She trailed off, lost in thought.
A moment later she looked up, meeting Alya’s eyes.
Immediately she waved her hands around, trying to ward off… something. “I- I mean, that’s what I read on the Ladyblog and what I could piece together from video footage, it’s not like I was there, NOPE. I was huddled in my room the entire time. Not like I have any insight into what Chat Noir was acting like during the battle, not beyond what any other civilian would know! That would be ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!” she let out a few forced guffaws.
Alya’s eyebrows flew up.
O...Kay…?
Maybe Marinette had been following Ladybug and Chat Noir during the final battle and hadn’t wanted anyone to know? She’d wondered whether Marinette might have a thing for Chat Noir, but her crush on Adrien dwarfed any feelings she might have had for him. Plus it’s not like Marinette would actually know Chat Noir, unlike Adrien.
Thinking about Adrien…
“He must’ve been devastated,” she murmured. Marinette looked at her questioningly. “Adrien, I mean,” Alya clarified. “Having your father turn out to be a terrorist? I can’t even imagine.”
Marinette buried her face in her hands. “Not you TOO,” she said, her voice muffled.
Nino slowly started edging his way behind Marinette.
“What’s your problem with Adrien?” Alya asked. “Did he do something?”
Marinette glanced away. “Not… exactly… I just… I’m afraid that it might all be an act. That he might’ve been helping Hawkmoth secretly, and… and even if he wasn’t before, that he might just be biding his time, waiting until he figures out who Ladybug and Chat Noir and then BAM!” she slammed her fist down on her other hand. “He takes them out, steals all the Miraculous, frees his father and rules Paris FOREVER!”
Alya reached out towards Marinette tentatively. She collapsed into Alya’s arms.
Hugging her tightly, she sang a soft nonsense song, rubbing small circles in Marinette’s back.
She’d done this a few other times since she’d met Marinette, though she’d never thought she’d do it underneath these circumstances.
Whatever these circumstances actually were.
Did everyone have amnesia or…?
“Do you have any big memory gaps?” Alya asked once Marinette’s breathing had calmed down. “Especially from five years ago?”
Marinette shook her head.
She’d shelve that theory for now then. More likely it was…
“An alternate timeline, huh?” Alya said.
Marinette looked up at her questioningly.
“That’s what I think this is,” Alya explained. “I WAS thinking that maybe there’d been some sort of mass amnesia, but if you don’t have any memory gaps - and trust me girl, with how involved you were with Adrien, there WOULD be memory gaps - that seems unlikely. I’m betting this is some sort of alternate universe, one where Adrien never got to go to school.”
“I still don’t get why you think there’s something between me and Adrien!” Marinette said. “I mean sure, he’s pretty, but did I really fall for him just for that?”
Alya shook her head. “Actually, you hated him at first. Chloe’d been bragging about how he was her friend, and with that on top of you catching him trying to remove the gum Chloe’d planted on your seat and mistaking it for him PLANTING the gum… well… both of us just assumed he was a spoiled rich bully, just like Chloe. Luckily that turned out not to be the case.”
“How’d that misunderstanding get cleared up?” Marinette asked. “And how did your Marinette jump from that to crushing on him?”
Alya grinned. Marinette had ranted about this moment to her SO. MANY. TIMES.
“School let out later that day. It was raining and Marinette had forgotten her umbrella, so she hung back a moment, long enough for Adrien to approach her. At first she looked away from him, not wanting to acknowledge his greeting. But then he told you - told her I mean - that he hadn’t done it, promised that he’d just been trying to take it off with such sincerity that she had no choice but to believe it. He opened up to her, even though she’d been shunning him just moments ago. And finally he gave her his umbrella, just because he could. Because it was the kind thing to do. She’s been a goner ever since.”
The Marinette in her arms looked away. “I can see why she might have developed a crush on him. But I still dunno whether I trust him.”
“I don’t know whether I have anything that could convince you on that,” Alya admitted, “especially since this is probably a different timeline, and for all I know he could be evil here. Just make sure that you’re judging him on his own merits, okay? Not who he’s associated with. Not his fault he has so many crappy people in his life.”
“I’ll… take it under consideration,” Marinette said reluctantly.
Marinette looked from side to side. “Where’d Nino go?”
“Oh, he snuck back into the bakery several minutes ago.”
“WHAT?!”
---
Nino opened the door to the bakery, letting out a small sigh of relief. He really wanted to check in on his best friend, and judging by Marinette’s behavior, she wasn’t exactly keen on him or Alya chatting with Adrien.
Thinking back on what he’d just heard, he frowned.
He wished he could say that he’d never have suspected that Gabriel was Hawkmoth.
That he didn’t think Adrien’s old man could ever be capable of such evil.
But he knew better.
The guy threatened to withdraw Adrien from school and isolate him from everyone else at the drop of a hat, paid little attention to his son when he was at home, and was a very negative influence on his life in general. He might have been grieving, but… so was Adrien. He needed the only parent he had left.
And instead Gabriel had chosen to respond by becoming a supervillain and terrorizing Paris, endangering his own son in the process.
He really wished he’d gotten to hit Hawkmoth with his turtle shield more. At least he got to relish the smack he got in.
“You’re back!”
Nino looked towards the voice.
Adrien walked closer to him, a tentative grin on his face. “I didn’t think you’d return so soon!”
“I had to come back to talk to my best friend,” Nino said.
“Best friend?” Adrien asked, blank-faced.
Oh, right. According to Marinette, Adrien hadn’t joined their class. She hadn’t even met Adrien until recently.
Had some sort of memory-wiping akuma attacked? Wouldn’t have been the first time.
“Do you know who I am?” Nino asked, pointing at himself.
Adrien rubbed the back of his neck. “Uh… well I know you’re friends with the Ladyblogger and Marinette, and… sorry, that’s it.”
He looked really apologetic, like a dog who’d ripped up a bunch of toilet paper and acted guilty about it once caught.
Hm. If it had been a memory-erasing akuma, maybe he could jog Adrien’s memory…?
And even if it wasn’t, he wanted to let Adrien know that someplace, somewhere, people cared about him. If Marinette’s reaction to him was any indication, he’d need that reassurance. Being looked at with suspicion, having people run from you just because of who your dad was, thinking that you might’ve been involved in his crimes… he couldn’t imagine.
“You joined our class the day after Hawkmoth first attacked,” Nino told him, pulling out his phone.
Adrien shook his head, looking confused. “Uh… no? I wanted to, I REALLY wanted to go to school, but Father-”
He cut himself off, looking away.
“Marinette said the same thing,” Nino told him. “That you hadn’t enrolled in our class, that she’d only met you recently. I don't know what that’s about, whether everyone’s memories were wiped, or an akuma messed with the past, or what.”
Come on, come on, where was it- ah!
He clicked on a photo, one taken a few months ago, holding his phone up so his friend could get a better look.
Adrien squinted for a moment. His eyes widened. “That’s-!”
Nino nodded. “Our class photo. The official one, anyway.” He chuckled. “I liked our unofficial ones better.” Swiping to the side, he showed the new ones the class had taken at the park.
Adrien’s jaw dropped more with every new photo. He let out an involuntary bark of laughter at the one of himself, Nino, Kim, and Juleka posing. “I- I always wanted to mess around like that at photoshoots,” Adrien said. His voice trembled slightly. “But I wouldn’t be able to get away with it. And that’s mostly fun when you can share it with friends, at least share the picture, and I- I couldn’t. Chloe wouldn’t have appreciated it, and L-”
He cut himself off, shaking his head.
“Luka?” Nino asked.
He didn’t know why Adrien would know Luka and not anybody else, but he seemed the most likely option.
“Uh…” Adrien scratched the back of his neck, looking away.
Hm, he’d have to see if he had- ah!
“You played in Kitty Section too, with Luka, Rose, Ivan, and Juleka.” Nino explained, clicking on the video.
Adrien’s hands shook as Nino handed him the phone, watching the mini-concert.
“I- I was allowed to- I got to-” Adrien’s voice quavered.
“Not at first.” Nino grimaced, remembering how bummed Adrien had sounded when he called him. “Your old man said that Agrestes were soloists, and that we were all bad influences.”
“HE was the bad influence,” Adrien said. A current of anger, of venom ran through his voice that Nino had never heard before.
“Well I already knew that, even before finding out he was Hawkmoth,” Nino said, making a face. “Dude needed to chill out.”
Adrien snorted. “If he had any ‘chill’ he wouldn’t have decided that becoming a supervillain was the best way to heal my mother.”
Oh.
So THAT was why Gabriel had done it.
He’d just thought it was standard ‘I’m an asshole and want to rule the world while being a jackass to everyone in my life’ behavior.
(He still wasn’t going to rule out that being a factor.)
Nino put a hand on Adrien’s shoulder sympathetically. “At least he’s gone now and you’re free, right?”
“Right,” Adrien said. He didn’t meet Nino’s eyes.
“Not you TOO,” Marinette had said, burying her face in her hands.
As if she found it exasperating that Alya sympathized with Adrien. As if she had expected differently.
Those worries she’d voiced as Nino had been tiptoeing away, about Adrien helping Hawkmoth, about him lying in wait, biding his time… Marinette probably wasn’t the only one to have that concern. And with Adrien’s face being as well-known as it was...
“You AREN’T free, are you?” Nino asked, eyes wide.
Adrien sighed. “I was as surprised as everyone else when I found out who Hawkmoth was. That someone who’s caused that much harm, that much trauma to this city, lived in my own house.” He clenched his fists, digging into his jean’s fabric. “I could barely believe it… no… I didn’t WANT to believe it.”
He took a deep breath, steadying himself. “I- I only remember snippets from right after his arrest. The police chief talking to me. Riding back to the station. It’s all a blur. Everything felt like I was processing it underwater. It was all so blurry and muffled. Even- even then, though, I could feel everyone’s accusing stares.” “I understand why, don’t get me wrong,” he cut in hurriedly. “Who wouldn’t be suspicious of the son of the terrorist who’s been making everyone’s life miserable for the past four years?” Adrien almost panted with exertion, his eyes wild. “And- and it was happening in my own house! Underneath my nose! I should have KNOWN! I could’ve stopped this!”
Reaching out, Nino pulled his friend into a hug.
Adrien stiffened for a moment, before melting into his embrace.
“It’s his fault, not yours,” Nino murmured. “Remember that, dude. He was the adult. He was your parent. Your ONLY remaining parent. I’ve met the guy. And I’ve heard you talk about what he’s like. If you had investigated more?” Nino shuddered, thinking about the disproportionate punishments the bastard had enacted. “And knowing he was HAWKMOTH on top of that? I’m kinda glad you didn’t. Yeah, maybe you could’ve ended things sooner. Or maybe he would’ve hurt you more before you had the chance. I’m just glad you survived.”
“I-” Adrien’s throat sounded tight. “I’m- I’m glad I survived too.”
They stood there for a moment, Nino feeling Adrien’s breath go in-and-out, his heartbeat racing, until it gradually started to slow.
*ring ring*
Adrien and Nino broke up their hug just as Marinette burst through the door, Alya on her heels. She skidded to a halt in front of Adrien - but not quite in time, sending her careening towards the floor.
She never made contact.
“Woah!” Adrien shouted, catching her in his arms.
Nino detected a hint of pink to Marinette’s cheeks before she abruptly sprang to her feet.
“So, uh,” Marinette said awkwardly. “I’m guessing Nino talked to you about some stuff. I mean, of course he talked to you about stuff, because that’s what talking is about. What- what I mean is, what were you two talking about?”
“I wanted to show him how much we care about him,” Nino told her. “Especially since with this… amnesia?”
“I think it’s an alternate timeline,” Alya said.
“Especially since in this timeline,” Nino continued, “it really doesn’t seem like he had anyone.”
“I had a couple other friends,” Adrien told him quietly, giving a melancholic smile. “But I lost contact with them right after Hawkmoth’s defeat.”
Noticing Nino’s frown, he hastily added, “they didn’t abandon me or anything! They were online friends. One moved somewhere without internet reception, and the other... we never knew each other’s names. But we talked all the time. We chatted, laughed, defeated villains together…”
“In the video games we played, of course!” he added after a moment. He chuckled fondly. “We played as a team. Together, we were unstoppable, no matter what our opponent threw at us.”
Adrien swallowed. “But in the aftermath of Hawkmoth’s defeat, with all the turmoil, with everything that happened… I lost my means of contacting her. I- I don’t know whether I’ll ever get to see her again.”
“We’d promised to meet up after Hawkmoth’s defeat,” Adrien said. His voice cracked. “That- that once it was safer in Paris, we’d finally tell our names.”
His eyes dropped to the ground. “Instead, we lost each other. Maybe for good.”
“I know what that’s like,” Marinette said. She sounded strangely distant. “I had a friend like that too. I cared about him. A lot. Maybe… maybe even as more than a friend.” She said the last part haltingly, as if she’d only just admitted it to herself. “He- he wanted to know who I was. For me to know who he was. But- but I couldn’t do that. Not in Hawkmoth’s Paris. I already cared for him so much it ached. If I was closer to him than that- if I’d accepted his rose- I’m- I’m afraid Hawkmoth might’ve used the strength of those feelings against me. That I could’ve gotten akumatized, or he might’ve, and if we knew who each other was, knew WHERE the other one was… I just… I couldn’t accept that we might be sent to hurt each other.”
“We talked while the final battle was raging,” she continued. “He seemed really upset, more angry than I’ve ever seen him before, but… also kind of sad. I wanted to know what was wrong, but there wasn’t really time to press him. And after that battle he just… disappeared. I knew there was going to be some sort of disruption, but- but I’d thought we’d have more time to talk beforehand, that we’d be able to exchange new contact information. We were cut off before we had the chance.”
“I- I think of him every day,” she said quietly. “Wondering how he’s doing. He was always so positive, no matter what life threw at us. I hope that wherever he is, whatever he’s doing, he hasn’t lost that positivity, that optimism, the ability to see the best in the world and in others.”
“I’m sure he’d be happy to know you cared for him so much,” Adrien said, giving her a warm smile.
Marinette blinked, giving herself a small shake. She turned to Alya. “I dunno whether you’ll remember any of this after the Ladybug in your time restores anything, but on the off-chance you do, is there anything you need to know?”
“Oh!” Alya pulled up some footage. “You told me who Hawkmoth was, but what about Mayura?”
“Mayura?”
“Who?”
Alya snapped her fingers. “You know, the Peacock Miraculous wielder, the one summoning the sentimonsters! Did she not exist in this universe?”
She pulled up part of the fight against Mayura, the sentimonster Ladybug, and Hawkmoth.
The video ended, she took another glance at Marinette and Adrien.
Marinette seemed to be in shock, staring straight ahead.
Adrien frowned, thinking. “I’d wondered for a long time how Father managed to hide his supervillain activities from Nathalie, considering she was around him most of the time. I thought maybe she was just really good at never asking questions.”
He grimaced. “Looking at that? I’m betting she didn’t ask questions because she already knew the answers.”
“You think Mayura’s Nathalie?” Alya questioned.
He nodded. “Unless something’s different in your universe. My father doesn’t have a lot of associates, and the way he acted around Mayura there, how he was willing to pass up a chance to fight Ladybug for her Miraculous in exchange for catching her… the only people I can think of who he’d do that for are my mother and Nathalie, and mom…” he trailed off.
“I- I didn’t even think about that,” Marinette said guiltily. “I remember reading something about Gabriel having a secretary, but I didn’t think about her much beyond that.”
“Maybe you could ask this universe’s Alya to post something on the Ladyblog, telling Ladybug and Chat Noir she has a lead on who Mayura is?” Alya said. “I mean, I know they haven’t shown up in ages, but maybe that’s just because they haven’t had reason to.”
Marinette winced. “I… really don’t think that’s it… plus Ladybug and Chat Noir never said that someone was helping Hawkmoth. Mayura never appeared, at least in public. I don’t know what we can do about this right now, especially without proof. Maybe if Ladybug and Chat Noir appeared, but…”
She sounded doubtful. Alya was beginning to think that the final battle was even worse than Marinette had alluded to.
She hesitated a moment, before turning to Adrien. “I- I think I owe you an apology. I thought you might’ve been helping Hawkmoth, but… well… I was just judging you by who your dad was. You’ve been nothing but sweet and kind.”
Adrien smiled at her, though it was slightly strained. “It’s fine. I’m used to it. A lot of people in this city have suffered at Hawkmoth’s hands. I don’t blame them for being scared, or angry at any reminders of him.”
“That doesn’t make it RIGHT,” Marinette said heatedly.
Nino nodded. “Dude just because something’s done to you it doesn’t mean it’s justified, or that it shouldn’t be made better. Like with your old man forbidding parties. I didn’t let that stop me from bribing your bodyguard into letting me and the other guys throw a party at your place for you!”
He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. “It kinda escalated though. I think half the guys at Paris were partying in your room by the end!”
Alya gave Nino a sideways look. “And ONLY the guys because they ditched us girls while we were planting trees with a lame excuse. Seriously if you’d said you wanted to throw a party for Adrien while his dad was away, you could’ve just told us!”
Nino winced. “Yeah, my bad. At least we got to have fun there for a while before the akuma attack.”
“Akuma attack?” Adrien asked, eyes wide. “But I thought you said Father was gone!”
“He was- OOOOOOOH.”
“Yeeaaaah I don’t think he was actually gone,” Alya said. “You threw a ‘secret’ party in Hawkmoth’s house, WHILE he was still at home.”
Adrien gaped at Nino. “How’re you not DEAD?!”
Nino chuckled. “Lucky I guess?”
*twinkle twinkle*
A familiar red mass flew towards Alya and Nino.
Adrien’s eyes widened.
“Behind the portrait!” he blurted out, just as the two of them were enveloped by the ladybugs, spiriting them off to whence they came.
It was silent for a moment.
“Do you think they heard?” Adrien asked Marinette.
“I hope so,” she said, looking off in the direction the ladybugs flew.
She turned to him. “I was planning on setting up some hang out time with Alya and Nino later this week. If you’re not busy… would you like to join?”
His smile told her everything she needed to know.

For Now the Universe Relents (supercorp)
part 2 (Alex POV) part 1 (Kara and Lena)
please enjoy part 2 of this ask from I original ask below I got from @kmkalan , it was nice to get a chance to write some protective Alex moments with Kara and Lena. Also thanks to everyone who read the first part and asked for this follow up, here you go :)
Character A helped Character B into a sitting position. The sirens were getting louder and soon this nightmare would be over.
---- ---- ---- -----
Alex finds them huddled together — Lena with her back pressed into Kara's chest and Kara with her hands held firmly around her waist, and her head tucked into the hollow of her neck.
She kneels down in front of them, brushes a trembling finger along Kara's cheek as her eyes linger on the dark patches that litter her suit.
"Are you okay?" And Alex hates the words even as she says them. Because she can see the look in her eyes. Can still see the war she's just fought still lingering inside of them, can see everything she is trying to do not to fall apart.
But the words are a reflex, something to say when there is nothing to say. Something to fill the air with something other than the fine layer of ash that is coating the both of them.
"I'm fine," and Kara's words are just as much a reflex as her own, just as much a distraction from the horrible truths of the world around them.
But between them, Kara has always been the worse liar.
"Kara?"
Alex runs her thumb over the back of her knuckles, finds them beaten red and broken.
Her shoulders tense, and she tries not to jostle Lena in her arms, but she must still feel the quiver in Kara's body, and Alex watches as she reaches up to grip Kara's arm, cupping the back of her hand.
"Kara?" Lena tries to whisper, her voice muffled against Kara's chest.
"It's okay," she soothes; but her attempt at a smile is ragged, painful, and she has to tuck her lips between her teeth to try and hide just how much as tears finally slip free, falling onto her suit and into Lena's hair..."I'm still here."
For a moment longer, Kara just holds her, lets her hand rise and fall with the breathes Lena takes just a few more times before her shoulders loosen a bit, and she pulls one of her hands away hesitantly, wiping her cheek with a shaky palm, ash, and soot streaking down across her jaw.
"I-I need you to take a look at her. She, she's bleeding. And she hit her head when I, when the...I tried to shield her, but we-we were still too close and...and.."
"I'm okay," Lena looks up at the both of them, gripping the back of Kara's hand again when her words start to spiral, "Just, just uh hurts to breathe a bit still."
And Alex can't help but laugh a little. The three of them are going to have a talk about the actual definition of both "fine" and "okay" when this is all over.
She glances up briefly at Kara and then back to Lena's half lidded gaze.
"How about I take a look anyway? At least at that hole in your side, Kara is currently holding together so we can make sure you don't bleed all over the van when Kelly gets here, huh? We can wait to deal with that big brain of yours until we get back."
Lena rolls her eyes at the look on Alex's face but still can't stop herself from wincing as she tries to shift a little in Kara's arms.
"Where are the others?" And Alex knows Kara's getting nervous, knows like her, that more people will be here soon and that more people will mean more questions they don't have answers to yet — mean more expectation for her to be stronger than she can possibly be right now.
"They are containing the last of the phantoms, now that...with the orb gone..."
And Alex doesn't know why she can't just say it. Can't just say that with Lex and finally dead, there's no one to control them anymore. Maybe it's because he died 50 feet from where they're sitting. Maybe it's because even after everything she knows he was still Lena's brother. Maybe it's because she knows Kara is the one who killed him. Maybe it's because neither one of them deserves to feel any kind of burden for his death.
Instead, she takes Kara's hand in hers and, as gently as she dares, eases it away, wishing there was more of this day she could take from her too.
"I'm just going to look, and then we're going to get out of here, okay?"
"Yeah," Lena's voice is weak, and it stutters a little as she tries not to lean back into Kara when Alex lifts up the torn edges of her shirt.
Kara squeezes her hand again, "You're doing good."
Alex quickly realizes that Kara's efforts haven't been able to stop the flow of blood from the puncture, but also, thankfully, that it's not nearly as bad as it could be.
"We've just got to put a pressure dressing on this. Then I promise we'll make it good as new with some stitches."
Lena nods as she tries her best to stay still as the pain forces her body to attention.
"Alright, just keep this there for a second, Okay?" she says, gently placing Kara's hand back to Lena's side so she can hold the gauze.
Alex reaches back into the first aid kit at her side and then carefully cleans around the area best she can before securing the dressing in place.
She leans back on her heels and runs her palms along her thighs to try and settle that slight tremor that has come back once more.
"Okay, it's not pretty, and it's going to hurt, but it'll do."
Lena nods again but makes no move to sit up further or move from Kara's arms; the ups and downs of adrenaline are a hell of a thing.
The watch on Alex's wrist beeps, telling her Kelly is a minute out, and she doesn't want to push them, but they really do need to go.
She gives her sister an apologetic look before pulling her jacket off and holding it out like some kind of peace offering.
Kara takes the jacket and wraps it around Lena, keeping it in place as best she can as she helps her sit up.
"I'm sorry," she whispers when Lena squeezes her eyes closed, and Kara looks at Alex again, her eyes pleading with her.
Alex leans in closer to them, and Kara gently guides Lena's hands onto her. She wraps one arm around her waist and lets the other brace itself under her forearm so that she can press into her hand. Alex nods to let her know she's ready and squeezes her hand gently when she feels Lena's fingers grip hers. Slowly Lena, makes it to her feet, careful not to lean into Kara as she pushes herself up. Alex steadies them there, Lena's weight pressing into her until they feel like they can take a couple steps.
"I'm sorry" That's the first thing Lena says when they're far enough for Kara not to hear.
"I know, I know I shouldn't have gone after him alone."
Alex feels her shakes her head, watches as she clenches her jaw.
"He...he said, he said he would kill her if I didn't come."
Lena grips her hand so hard that she can feel her nails digging into her palm. She wishes, just like the guilt she wants to take from Kara, that it could be that easy to take the rest of her pain too.
"Thank you for keeping her safe."
And Alex doesn't know everything that happened. Isn't sure she ever will. Thinks that maybe there are things that only belong to the universe and the people that bore witness to them. But Alex knows that her sister is alive, and she knows that Lena is the reason she is.
"Thank you also for keeping yourself alive."
And that's the other part of it too. Not only because Alex has things left she wants to make right between them, to find the right time and the right words for her own forgiveness with Lena, for their own way back, their own way forward, but because she knows too, that if Lena had died, a part of Kara would have still died just the same.
When Alex gets back to Kara, her head is resting against the wall behind her, her eyes closed. One hand reaches blindly across to her shoulder like it's trying to unclip her cape from its latch, while the other rest across her stomach, fingers opening and closing, as if testing their strength just in case.
"Hey, hey, let me do that."
Alex's hands slide up to Kara's shoulder, but her head tips even further back with a small grunt of protest when she finally reaches where the cape crosses her collarbone. And Alex can feel the break underneath, can see the darkening bruise forming underneath the edge of her suit as the cape pulls away.
She quickly finishes unclips the latches on the other side, letting its full weight fall from her shoulders.
"Keep your arm there."
Alex runs her hands up and down her back, trying to see what else she missed.
"Are your ribs broken too?"
But just as she brings her hand across Kara's chest, she feels it stop. Feels as the too fast rhythm of Kara's heartbeat is replaced by the just barely there of her name.
"Alex?"
She looks down, sees Kara's hand on her wrist. Sees the blood on it — on both of them. Hates this day a little more all over again.
"He's really gone right. I-I told Lena it was over. I told her...Please don't tell me I lied to her again. I told her, I told her, I wouldn't li-lie to, to her again." Kara's voice goes from quiet to quivering, rambling into every next word until her lungs are pulling in more air than they can hold.
Alex opens the hand that's on Kara's chest just enough so that she can feel just the pressure of it, feels her fingers squeeze back just a little.Tries to get her to breathe slower, deeper, tries to think of what the fuck to say. Because goddammit, this isn't how they were supposed to have to get through this. Not with blood still on their hands, not with the ground still broken underneath them. She swore she was going to let Kelly help them do it right this time.
But Kara needs at least this now.
"I-I need you to listen to me okay..." She leans forward just enough that her forhead is resting against Kara's.
She feels Kara take one stuttered breath, then two.
"The heat, the sound from the explosion, that's how Brainy found you, how I knew you were here" — the next two breaths are a little deeper, she tries to ignore the tears that fall onto the back of her hand — "Lena disabled his portal watch. There was nowhere for him to go. When the orb exploded, it took him with it."
When it's done, Kara leans back but she's still holding onto her.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I-she-I had to stop her from doing something stupid."
"Yeah well, I think we can agree you both did something stupid."
"I knew you would come, and I couldn't- I couldn't. Losing one of you feels impossible Alex, but losing both of you feels even more..."
"Hey, Hey...it's okay." Alex squeezes Kara's hand, doesn't let her get too far away inside her own head again.
"But we're going to have to work on that because if you're going to keep wearing that crest, you're going to have to remember what it stands for from time to time right?"
Kara nods. Holds onto Alex's hand even tighter.
"El Mayarah."
"Right, stronger together, so—" Alex loops Kara's still good arm around her shoulder and they stand up together, each balanced against the other —"lets go get you to your girl."

Masterlist | Part 1 | Part 3
Tumblr media
Things had gotten hot and heavy between you and Bucky once again upon settling into Zemo’s place.
Once the gig was up and everyone was fully aware of your particular interest in a particular arm, you didn’t even attempt to hide your lustful gazing.
And something about that sure got Bucky going.
He pushed you against the wall of the fancy bathroom. His lips were on yours from the second he made some lame-ass excuse to pull you away from Sam and Zemo.
Sam had chosen to ignore it, not feeling like now was the time to lecture either of you. Zemo on the other hand had watched silently as Bucky’s hand gripped the back of your neck and your thighs twitched in response before you two disappeared into the bathroom.
You had felt Zemo’s eyes on you two as Bucky fumbled with the door before shoving you in, deepening the kiss, but you had chosen to ignore it and instead got caught up in the sensations of your boyfriend.
Nearly everything in the world had been forgotten the moment Bucky lifted you up and your legs wrapped around his torso. He walked you carefully backward, your back hit a wall.
“You’re driving me absolutely mad,” Bucky whispered in your ear, his voice as rough and passionate as his actions. His hardness grinded into your heated core as he spoke, earning a pathetic whine from you.
“I-I haven’t done anything.” You just about giggled at the end of your claim of innocence. Bucky responded by attacking your neck with kisses, nipping and sucking as he made his way across your hot skin.
You let out a light moan and made your own grinding actions against him. He shook his head, trying to taunt and deny you, but then little begs fell from your lips. The sweet sounds of “please” always made him absolutely weak - not that he’d ever admit it. Instead, he slowly let one hand make its way to your pants button while his metal arm held you perfectly.
When you realized the position, you swore you could feel yourself getting wetter. Just the realization he was holding you with one arm - the metal arm - so effortlessly while his other hand started work on giving you some relief made something turn in your stomach.
Bucky must’ve realized all this as he let out a deep chuckle once he undid your pants and shoved his hand into your panties. Two fingers first started little circular motions on your clit before moving them over your soaking folds.
He inserted the, slowly, letting you feel every inch of his fingers. “So fucking wet,” he groaned in your ear as he planted a kiss on the corner of your mouth. “Haven’t even done anything yet it’s a fucking puddle in your panties. Ridiculous.”
The degrading words did not help your situation as you let out a loud gasping moan. Bucky was enjoying this, letting you be as loud as you wanted despite the others clearly in the house. You could only hope that they had decided to leave upon catching wind of what you two were up to.
But that turned out not to be the case.
As Bucky began adding a third finger to the mix, the bathroom door opened. At first, you didn’t even notice it. Eyes closed, your brain was only focused on getting your boyfriend to hurry up and fuck you, you were totally lost in your own world. For your super-soldier ex-assassin boyfriend, though, it was harder for him to turn his senses off.
Abruptly, all motions stopped. Bucky lifted his head from your neck as his fingers stilled inside you. You opened your eyes unwillingly and looked down at your boyfriend. His eyes were wide as yours were furrowed in confusion.
A heavily accented voice cut through the silence from the doorway. “Don’t stop on my account.”
You gasped - and this time it wasn’t one of pleasure. You started wiggling, trying to get a now furious Bucky away from you. He caught on and ripped his hand from your pants. Angry but still handling you with care, his arm placed you back on the ground. You turned away from the door, trying to fix your clothes as Bucky faced the intruder.
“What the fuck are you doing? Get the hell out.” Bucky’s voice boomed throughout the room, bouncing off every tile.
You flinched at the sound as you turned around, presently decent. Your eyes fell on Zemo who was currently leaning against the doorframe, a stupid smirk on his face and a fire in his eyes.
He shrugged, completely unbothered, and slowly closed the door again behind him. “Can’t a man watch what’s happening in his own home?” You and Bucky shared a questioning glance. “You two just seem to like sneaking off. Forgive me if my curiosity has peaked but this is a fascinating situation.”
“What the hell are you going on about?” You sighed, frustrated in more ways than one.
“I’m a man who likes to know what’s going on,” he crossed his arms, “especially when it’s happening in my space.”
“I really don’t-,”
“He wants to watch,” Bucky cut you off but his eyes were still trained on Zemo’s cocky, slightly too proud stance. Your stomach unexpectedly fluttered.
Taking a deep breath, you asked, “W-Watch?” Your voice was suddenly weak as the frustrations - the good ones - hit you again.
“Hmm, interesting,” said Zemo as if he was casually thinking out loud. As if this was the perfect time for some brainstorming session. Your blood was boiling at his casualness.
You rolled your eyes, biting the bait that he cast like a foolish, edged woman. “What’s interesting?”
“You didn’t say no.”
You and Bucky began spewing protests to his claim.
“I-I was in shock-,”
“It doesn’t mean anything-,”
“You’re insane-,”
Zemo lifted his hand to stop you both. Your two voices were getting muddled as your words fought to defend. You gave in, quickly halting all complaints. You could see from the corner of your eye Bucky watching you a bit cautiously now but you didn’t want to face him. You still, for some reason, felt hot and bothered by this… proposition.
“Am I really that insane?” He asked, taking a slow step towards you. “You think you’re hiding it but you can’t stop shifting your stance and those pretty thighs won’t stop squeezing together.” Zemo paused, chuckling a bit to himself. You glared, keeping your eyes locked with his despite how overwhelming it all was. “Are you going to tell me that I’m wrong, dear? Because I don’t think I am. In fact, I think you’d more than just enjoy it. I think you actually crave it.”
Your heart sank at Zemo’s publicized revelation. How the hell did he even pick up on that? Was he somehow in your fucking mind? Your eyes searched his expression, looking for signs that he was pulling your leg or playing some fucking games but his features were cold with a hint of curiosity. You weren’t sure what to say because, well, he really wasn’t wrong. But this didn’t stem from some blatant attraction to Zemo (even though that desire certainly was harboring deep, deep within you), you had always had some interest in sexual adventures on the more voyeuristic side.
Bucky, however, didn’t know any of this.
For all the intimate actions you two had already explored -- including the new-found metal arm kink -- you hadn’t brought this up, finding it to be some ultimate, untouchable achievement with your partner.
Bucky said your name, pulling you out of your dazed thoughts. You finally faced him, taking in his not-so-surprising expression of wonder. “Is that true?” There was something in his tone that made your heart leap. He was… excited, you thought. “Is this making you…”
Your mouth opened but no words came out.
Zemo opted to answer for you. “You know it is, James.”
Bucky licked his lips and took a couple of steps towards you, focused on getting an answer personally from you. He was very close now, pretty much towering of you. “Does the thought of someone watching us make you wet?”
His words hit the room like explosive bombs. You gasped at the boldness, trying to act all surprised at the question, but your body couldn’t hide anything, especially not when Bucky’s metal arm came up to trace invisible lines across your neck. He held your head up, forcing you to keep your eyes on him. The entire situation felt so powerful.
“N-No.”
Both Bucky and Zemo let out scoffs in disbelief. You sighed, defeated.
“Oh, really?” Bucky inquired as he began walking towards you again, getting so close that you had no choice but to back up. You hit the wall once again, feeling almost in the position from earlier.
Without any warning, Bucky undid your pants and once again shoved his hand back to your core, letting his fingers run over your folds. If your panties had a puddle earlier, it was now a full-blown ocean down there. You yelped in surprise.
Bucky hummed as he let his fingers play. “I think the thought makes you very wet.” He pressed into you just a bit more, enough for you to now feel his erection through his jeans.
As Bucky inserted two fingers in you, he moved his head to meet yours. You grabbed onto his shoulders as the hand on your throat forced your head to tilt to the side, making room for him to whisper in your ears.
He pumped his fingers slowly as he spoke, “You’re really enjoying this, aren’t you?” You let out a pathetic whine. “Yeah, you sure are,” Bucky chuckled. “I can feel it. I can feel you soaking my hand and why is that? Because someone is watching you? Someone’s watching you take my fingers like a good girl while my hand is wrapped around your pretty throat, just how I know you like it. Isn’t that right, dear?”
Bucky sneered, his voice full of arousal and jealousy, at the little pet name Zemo had used on you. You just about collapsed when he spoke. If it hadn’t been for Bucky’s strong body pressing into yours, you would’ve melted into the floor. Not to mention, you could feel Zemo’s eyes taking you in, raking over you so shamelessly as you twisted and squirmed from Bucky’s skilled fingering.
“She is quite the sight,” Zemo commented, making observations as if you weren’t even in the room. For some reason, that made everything hotter.
“M-More-,” you choked out and began grinding your hips against Bucky’s body. His grip on your throat got a bit tighter at your movement, forcing you to let out a moan.
“You want more?” Bucky taunted you as his thumb came up to circle your clit. You yelped, moving your hips even more. His body was still holding you down. “You want me to fuck you right here for him to see?”
Your eyes had fluttered close by now but Bucky wasn’t dealing with that. The hand on your neck left and found its way into your hair. He gave your hair a tug, forcing you to keep looking at him. His eyes bore into yours, full of lust and pleasure. His features, though, were harsh and serious. You felt your orgasm coming in hard. You couldn’t even think straight to nod at his ridiculous question.
Bucky seemed to know all this, though. Just as fast as he put his hand down your pants, he removed it, making you let out an angry, pitiful whine at the loss of contact. Bucky just shook his head and forced you to turn around. Now your front was completely pushed against the wall and Bucky was working fast to get your pants and panties off.
You couldn’t really see anything behind you now and somehow, this got you going even more. You lost pretty much all control in this position. Your awareness was flying out the window. You had no idea what Bucky’s next moves would be and you certainly didn’t know how Zemo looked taking this all in.
Suddenly, though, a hand came up to your cheek, brushing back your hair. You knew immediately it wasn’t Bucky.
“You look so pretty, dear,” Zemo whispered. His hand caressed your cheek as his eyes stared into your blown-out ones. “Like an absolute goddess.”
Before you could even respond or at least show acknowledgment, Bucky entered you full force, his hips completely jutting against you. You let out a cry at the fullness, completely stunned by the boldness of your boyfriend. He groaned lowly in your ear as he worked his way well deep into you.
“B-Bucky-” Your cries were loud as you adjusted to the size of him, now planted rightfully in you. While there was some discomfort, all you could register was the pleasure you had been denied for what felt like forever.
“Shh,” he hushed you, his mouth right against your ear. “You’re taking it so well, doll. My good little girl.”
You could’ve sobbed at his words of encouragement. He watched you for a second, still paused inside you, before feeling that you were okay. Then the pumping began, in and out of you, just as powerful as when Bucky first entered you. His rhythm was hypnotizing as he fucked you forcefully into the wall.
Upping the ante a bit, his metal arm came around to your neck, squeezing gently but with determination. You felt yourself get wetter at the action.
“There you go,” Bucky mumbled, sounding lost in his own daze. “Just like that, sweetheart. Got me fucking you against a wall, my hand around your throat, while we have a little audience. But that’s what you wanted, right? You wanted to show off how you like to get fucked.”
Somehow, his words were so degrading yet so pleasing. They went straight to your core causing the sound of your wetness to begin filling the room. You heard Zemo chuckle at the shift.
“Such a dirty girl you have, James.”
Bucky scoffed. “What a naughty girl I have. Didn’t even tell me she likes it when people watch.”
You whined at the statement but didn’t have much time to ponder it as Bucky pulled out of the way out only to shove right back in, forcing you to take his length in one motion. Your cries were becoming a regular thing now, completely engrossed in the situation.
“That’s it, sweetheart, so good,” Bucky grunted in your ear as his hand on your throat got tighter. “Gonna cum for me, yeah? Gonna come while he watches? Come on, doll, let him see how pretty you look falling apart.”
That was all it took. Your orgasm rushed through you the second his words stopped and he gave another strong pump. Slightly ashamed of yourself for how little it took for you to cum, but who could really blame you? Denied twice, you were always on that teetering and all that was needed was Bucky’s permission.
You shook under Bucky as he stilled inside you, letting his own orgasm take him over. He finished inside you, groaning and moaning pleasantly in your ear as you squirmed. The sensation of it all, from the warmth of Bucky filling you to Zemo’s eyes still shamelessly watching, had you overwhelmed quickly.
Bucky whispered sweet praises in your ear as you two calmed down. “So good for me, sweetheart. Absolutely fucking perfect. Can never get enough of this.” His words made you feel warm and definitely helped you catch your breath.
When he saw you were going to be fine, Bucky pulled out and reached for a towel to clean you up. He was gentle and caring, a complete contrast to just minutes ago.
Pants and underwear returned to your body and you pushed yourself slowly away from the wall, carefully finding your footing.
Once you and Bucky had straightened up your appearance, Zemo spoke.
“That certainly was a real treat,” he said with a cocky smile playing on his lips. You couldn’t really face him and instead focused on the floor. Bucky placed a gentle hand on your waist. “Nothing to be ashamed of, dear. I think we got what we all wanted, right?”
You mustered the courage to at least look up at Bucky who was just rolling his eyes.
“Could you leave us for now?” Bucky sighed.
“Why?” Zemo asked. “Going for round two?”
You shook your head, fighting your own urge to roll your eyes. No matter how mad you actually wanted to be, though, you had certainly found a lot of pleasure in the events just seconds earlier.
Bucky went to snap back with some remarks but Zemo cut him off. “I’m just kidding,” he said and then began walking to the door. “Thank you for this opportunity. It will certainly be treasured.”
With that, he exited, leaving you and Bucky standing there, staring at one another. Surprisingly, nothing had felt it changed between you two. In fact, you felt better now that that little secret of yours was now out in the open.
“So,” Bucky began with the tiniest smirk, “are there any other kinks of yours I need to know about?”
You groaned as Bucky chuckled, finding way too much amusement now. “Shut up.”

Where Loyalties Lie
(Technoblade X reader)
Tumblr media
Request 3: Can we get a little angsty fic or headcanon of Techno trying to get the reader to leave L’manberg?
Requested By: Anonymous
~~~
     “Tubbo please take a deep breath,” You followed him around the rubble as he paced restlessly.
     “I’m president of a crater (Y/n)!” The boy pulled on his ears with a loud whine, “What am I gonna do. I can’t believe Wilbur blew it up-” He felt your hands touch his own and gently pull them away from his oversensitive goat ears. “What am I gonna do? I-I’m a kid…” You frowned, moving to cup his cheek with your hand. He nuzzled into it desperately, welcoming the comforting touch of someone who he considered family.
     “You’re going to get through it because you’re strong.” You told him, “and so brave little ram.” He flushed pink letting out a whine of protest especially because he was still surrounded by most of his friends.
You watch as Quackity walked over to the both of you and placed his hand on Tubbo’s shoulder squeezing it, “We’ll rebuild. We’ll be right behind you Tubbo.” He smiled at the kid and you couldn’t help but smile over at him.
     “Thank you both. Truly.”
There was one thing that had you were worried you may come to regret, and that was not taking Technoblade’s hand as he fled from the country. You were close almost touching it, he looked like he wanted to beg for you too but one desperate cry from Tubbo had you pulling away. He looked heartbroken but at the same time, you saw understanding in his deep red eyes.
Family came first.
That day he pulled you close pressing a soft kiss on your forehead, “I’ll be back for you.”
You murmured a soft I’m sorry, turning to find Tubbo to make sure he wasn’t injured or dying. The thoughts of the festival replaying in your head, you couldn’t go through that...not again especially because now Tubbo was officially on his last life. Tommy couldn’t fathom how you didn’t blame Technoblade for what happened that day, but to you, two things were clear: one was that Tubbo didn’t blame him which made it easier on your end to forgive him; two Schlatt was manipulative and overwhelming as fuck you can’t blame someone for something they were peer pressured into doing. Speaking of Tommy you ended up finding Tubbo and him in the rubble that day, the taller male was pressing cloth to Tubbo’s bleeding arm desperately, when you took over and Tommy seemed grateful.
However, you had to push your possible regrets aside and focus on the new nation you’d help build, and build it you did. You worked endlessly for months on end creating a lovely new nation for people to live in, Tubbo had dubbed it New L’manburg. You felt his pride and happiness, he just loved seeing everyone together again and happy once again. Finally, the server felt somewhat normal after all that destruction, even if there was a Techno-shaped hole in your heart. Things changed rather quickly when Tubbo was, in your eyes, manipulated to exile Tommy by Dream. You had tried to argue for the boy saying that not only was he Tubbo’s friend but just a kid. You were shut down harshly by not only Dream but Tubbo as well, the look in his eyes was filled with so much loathing and frustration. It’s the first time he ever snapped and was harsh to you, you felt your own frustration bubble up in your chest. You turned on your heel and marched back up into your house, you were not going to put up with this behavior. When you slammed the door shut, and turned around to find Technoblade standing in your living room,  with your cat purring fondly on his shoulders; you almost screamed.
     “Heh- why are you scared it’s just me?” The hybrid complained his nose scrunching up, “Don’t be cringe- oof-” Techno grunted as you threw your arms around his waist, the man flushed to the tips of his ears and looked away from you, Taffy hopped off his shoulders disgruntledly, “Yeah, yeah, I missed you too.” He pet the top of your head tenderly and you looked up at him with a smile.
     “What’re you doing here Tech? If Tubbo finds out he’ll have your head.”
     “Then I guess we’ll just have to make sure he doesn’t find me then huh?” He mused lips, quirking into a smile, and you nodded in agreement. “Other than that just running some errands. I’m in retirement now you know. I have to say that ‘New L’Manburg’ is certainly a name.” He did air quotes around the name and you nudged him,
     “Be nice.”
     “Boo Cringe. I’m a Blood God starlight. I don’t do nice.”
     “Bullshit,” You punched him in the arm, “Tea?”
     “Please.” He cracked a smile as you walked over to your tea kettle heating the water and grabbing some tea bags.
     “So, you came here to run some errands huh? I almost thought you missed me?” Technoblade shuffled a little behind you, how could you read him so perfectly? It was complete and utter bullshit. You heard him click his tongue distastefully behind you and you couldn’t help but smirk cheekily,
     “Get off my back woman.” He stated gruffly as you laughed, “but I guess I do miss you a little bit.” You smiled fondly and softly cooed at him and he let out another scoff,
     “A little bit?”
     “What is this interrogation? You a cop now?” You placed his tea in front of him and he took a sip,
     “Yeah, we’re gonna need to do a strip search. Drop your pants.” Technoblade choked on his drink, face turning the darkest shade of red you’ve ever seen from him. You howled with laughter sliding down in your seat beside the man.
     “I changed my mind. I didn’t miss you at all, you’re a terror.”
     “You love me, admit it.”
     “Yeah, yeah, yeah.” He murmured looking at you with a sudden softness that was out of character for him. You didn’t notice the change but it was there, oh if only you knew how much of what you said was true. He did love you. He ran his tongue across his teeth and reached out to interlock your hands within his own.
     “Come live with me.”
     “Tech…”
     “I’m in retirement now. I’m going to get some turtles hopefully, maybe some other pets while I’m at it. There’s a lot of room...It gets lonely all alone you know. It’d be nice to have you there with me.” He watched hesitance flicker across your face again just like the day Wilbur blew up L’Manburg. Your thoughts went to Tubbo and how much he needed you, especially now that Tommy was exiled. However, you were also brought back to a few moments ago where Tubbo snapped at you for trying to help. You took a ragged breath and pushed his hand away, he frowned sadly bringing his hand back down to his lap.
     “I need to be here for Tubbo. He’s a kid Tech...way over his head. Dreams sniffing around him like a dog looking for his next victim to manipulate. I can’t let that happen, not to him. I know he’s President of this nation and you hate him for that, but he’s my brother and I love him. He’s a tough kid with a lot of fire, but I can’t just leave him in the dust. I love you,” You reached up and cupped his cheek and Technoblade felt his cheeks burn at the implication, “but I can’t leave until Tubbo is safe.”
     “I’ll convince you one day.” Technoblade shot back even though his heart ached, that you wouldn’t be coming home with him. But Technoblade wasn’t known for giving up. He was stubborn as hell, he’d win you over yet. You’d come home with him, he’d confess to you and he’d make you the happiest person in the world. You just...didn’t know it yet.
     “I’m excited for the day you do Tech.” You snickered softly, you both were startled by harsh knocking on the door.
     “That’s my cue. See you soon Starlight,” Technoblade hummed slipping right out the window, you watched him go longingly. You shuffled towards the door and opened it slowly, on the front steps stood Tubbo who was rocking nervously on his feet.
     “Hi…”
     “Hey LR...you okay?” Tilting your head to the side,
     “Is LR supposed to stand for little ram?”
     “Problem?”
     “No…I suppose not.” He murmured before clearing his throat and straightening his back, “I wanted to talk with you.”
     “Oh?” You raised an eyebrow watching him nod his head sternly, you walked outside and closed the door behind you so you could lean on it. “Shoot,”
You watched as Tubbo swallowed thickly, “First off I’m sorry for yelling at you earlier. It wasn’t fair of me to snap.” He watched you nod a little urging him to continue, “however, I am the President now and you have to respect my authority.” Eyebrows furrowing together in frustration you opened your mouth to counter him but he held up his hand, “Dream has an idea of how to rule. He can steer me in a better direction-”
     “Pardon me?” You let out a disbelieving laugh, “A better direction? Tubbo, are you forgetting everything we all fought for, we fought him for independence. He killed us!”
     “He might’ve changed!”
     “He exiled Tommy!”
     “He deserved it!” Tubbo shouted back as your nose scrunched up, “He’ll steer me in a direction that you never could!” He snapped before realizing what he said, he slapped his hands over his mouth eyes widening to the size of saucers. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that-”
     “Go home Tubbo.”
     “(Y/n) please,” He reached out towards you and you held up your hand,
     “Go reset the day. You need rest,” You frowned, turning back into the house “see you tomorrow.” Inside the house you shut the door on him and slid down onto the floor, you brought your hands to your mouth and swallowed thickly. A part of you wished Technoblade was still here just so he could tell you to get over yourself, he wasn’t skilled in the art of comforting others, but he could make you laugh. To keep yourself sane you reminded yourself that Tubbo was a child and needed you now more than ever, especially if he thought Dream was dishing out good advice. But you were hurt and a selfish part of you wished you could just go live in retirement with Technoblade and not worry about the new country forming, but you couldn’t ditch Tubbo.
Running a hand through your hair you sighed loudly, one might wonder what exactly could Tubbo do to make you listen to Technoblade’s offer. Honestly, you had no idea if anything would make you do that unless of course they just started executing people or something ridiculous like that.
Restless was how you’d describe the rest of your night, you tried to sleep but after a few hours of tossing and turning you gave up. You decided to make yourself a ‘healthy’ midnight snack, a small bowl of mac & cheese, you didn’t care, you were sad. You sighed softly scratching behind your cat’s ears, “It’s just you and me against the world Taffy isn’t it?” Her purrs rang in the air as she snuggled against your hand, distracting you just enough to swipe a noddle from your bowl. “You fat bitch!” You hissed as she ran off back up the stairs, you leaned back in your chair and sighed, literally nothing was going your way today. Just as you finished up your snack you heard a soft ping upon your window, turning to the sound you noticed your neighbor Phil awake in his house. He held up a hand and waved at you through it, and with a small smile, you waved back. He shuffled back into his home, I guess you both were insomniacs together, Techno knew how to pick a certain type of friend it seemed.
You walked back up to your bedroom and slid under the covers once more, maybe you were wrong and things were going to get better.
Months went by and nothing seemed to change much to your disappointment. Tubbo and you were still a little rocky, you had forgiven him for his harsh words but he always put Dream’s and even Quackity’s opinion before your own. When you came back from visiting Niki one day and saw wanted posters of Technoblade all around the country you almost had a stroke. You confronted Tubbo about it and only half answered you before running off when Quackity called him. That worried you, he normally didn’t like lying, especially not to you.
The same day you were walking into the market to get some fresh fruit when a hand shot out from the wanted poster and pulled you behind it. You were held flush against someone’s chest who chuckled gruffly, you recognized that chuckle anywhere. “Techno! What’re you doing here?” You asked looking up at him with eyes filled with concern, “don’t you know you’re a wanted man?”
     “I think that just makes this all the more exciting.” Techno mused running his fingers through your hair, “Plus it’s not like anyone here can catch me.”
     “Wrong I could catch you.” He dared to laugh in your face,
     “Sure you could, and I’m half sheep.” Technoblade mused and he watched you huff cutely, “Don’t get all huffy at me you know I’m right.” You only waved him off, “seriously though I’m here to do some trading with Phil.”
     “Oh…” You gave a nod, “Will I see you more frequently then?”
     “You could see me all the time if you moved in with me.” Techno joked again and was surprised to see your face fall a little. Are you serious? Was he getting you to crack? “Starlight?”
     “Ask me again in a few months and I might say yes,” You teased brushing the question off swiftly, Technoblade didn’t pry but he could tell you were almost convinced. Just what was going on in this country to make you want to leave your little brother? “Now shoo, go see Phil before he gives up on you.” You gave him a little shove and he stumbled off with a huff sticking his tongue out at you in the process.
After that encounter, you didn’t run into Technoblade for another very long stretch of time. About a month or so after that encounter, Tubbo had shown up at your doorstep a complete nervous wreck. He begged you to help him, claiming he needed diamonds for an upcoming project and wanted you to acquire them for him. “Tubbo I don’t understand why I need to go on this trip? I have diamonds I can just give you. You know I don’t care.”
     “But I feel bad about it,” Tubbo argued with you “please just do this for me.”
     “You know I’ll do anything for you. If you want me to get them this way I’ll do it. I should be back tonight is that okay? Do you need them sooner?” Tubbo looked relieved as he took your hands in his own,
     “No tonight is perfect!” The boy chirped sounding more like himself than he has in months, you couldn’t help but smile. You ruffled his hair a little before kissing his forehead,
     “Then tonight you shall have them, Little Ram.”
Tubbo helped you gather the materials you needed for a trip down into the mines, Tubbo even gave you some fire resistance potions. You thanked him for the potions before putting on your armor and heading down into the tunnels. As you were down in the mine the concept of time was always an illusion, so when you finally found diamonds for Tubbo and you left the cave you were surprised to see the sun was just setting. You hummed softly to yourself walking back into New L’manburg excited to show off to Tubbo you couldn’t help but wonder what he needed them for in the first place. However, when you entered town you were greeted by a gathering going on at the center. Everyone seemed to be there clad in what looked to be butcher’s outfits, your vibe was immediately thrown off eyebrows furrowing in concern. Quackity was giving some sort of speech and that finally drew your eyes towards the podium, locked inside a cage was a fuming Technoblade. You rushed towards the group, pushing past Ghostbur and a blue sheep, and grabbed tightly onto Tubbo’s arm.
     “Tubbo what the fuck is happening?” He tensed turning towards your face. It was no secret that you and Techno were friends, this wasn’t good at all.
     “(Y/n)! You’re back early!” He spoke nervously rubbing his hands together as Quackity turned towards you,
     “Welcome back!” Quackity hopped off the podium with a smirk, “Fundy grab them.”
     “Quackity hey wait a minute-” Tubbo started as Fundy roughly grabbed onto your arms pinning you in place,
     “Ow hey! Watch it! Let go of me!”
     “Get your hands off them!” Technoblade snarled nostrils flaring grabbing the bars of the cage tightly.
     “Quackity you said we’d leave them out of this!” Tubbo argued and your jaw dropped staring at Tubbo, “You promised!”
He waved Tubbo off with a scoff, “they’re just as bad as Phil, Tubbo. She needs to be punished. We can't play favorites when trying to run a country. We’ll execute Techno then deal with the other traitors.”
     “Execute?” You choked, “you can’t be serious! Tubbo you cannot be serious, since when are you okay with public executions?” He refused to look at you, his hair covering his eyes, he only nodded his head in Quackity’s direction.
     “Do it.”
     “Tubbo!” You shrieked watching Quackity grin maliciously, moving over to pull the lever that would allow the anvil to fall and crush the man below it.
What happened next was a cluster fuck, someone began trying to set off TNT, and Quackity pulled the lever. It fell rapidly towards Techno and he pulled something out of his pocket, in a flash of bright colors and bursts of light Technoblade was ripped apart and pulled back together again. He was alive, Technoblade really doesn’t ever die. He hopped on top of the anvil and jumped the bars of the cage, Fundy had long since lost his grip on you, he noticed Dream ushering him inside a cavern and he paused a moment. The hybrid turned towards you holding out his hand one final time, the world seemed to stop a moment and it was just you and him. His face held a desperate look in it, almost pleading you to take his hand within your own. You flashed back to the day Wilbur blew the country up, Tubbo called your name you glanced over your shoulder once towards Little Ram. You reached into your bag and dropped the diamonds you found for him on the ground, you grabbed Technoblade’s hand and squeezed it tightly. Technoblade smiled and yanked you forward, leaving a heartbroken Tubbo in your wake.
Sorry but what exactly is up with the bad batch arc? I've heard people talk about the issues with echo's white skin but I haven't heard that many bad things about the arc itself? (ik you said you don't want to be negative on your blog so I would absolutely understand if you didn't answer this ask)
Oooooooooooh boy. Well I just had a long, long, LONG rant about it with someone, but I guess I’ve got an excuse to put all of my points onto a post and talk about it publicly now that I got an ask x) I’ll keep it under the cut so I don’t throw my salt in people’s face. I really don’t want to upset people who love that arc - it has redeeming qualities, but overall it pisses me off so much for so many reasons. So here:
The first issue is obviously two members of the Bad Batch (minus Echo) being being just about the furthest thing from maori no matter how much you're willing to stretch it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like... yeah, nah. I wouldn’t even accept Crosshair and Tech (grey haired guy and goggles guy) as Jango’s natural biological sons, nevermind as his clones.
The problem is that their different appearances are justified by them being described simply as clones with desirable mutations (i.e superpowers). But why the hell did the creators have to change their appearances for that to be a thing? How does that correlate? Sure, the concept of clones with different faces is interesting, except... no, no it’s not, and I’m gonna rant about it in a few secs. But basically it's like they thought giving them different faces would be a good substitute for having different personalities (another thing I’ll come back to). If they really wanted to have buff clones with super eyesight or whatnot they could have just done that, without making them lose what little melanin the lighting of the show had allowed the other Clones to keep.
But the gigantic problem is... showing that the "regular" clones have VERY distinct identities despite their identical faces has been one of the themes of the show from episode 1. Literally, the first episode of TCW has Yoda taking time out of a mission with galactic stakes to tell the three clones he’s with (who tell him they’re all the same because they have the same faces) that they’re wrong, and that they’re very different in the Force, that their appearance doesn’t matter, that they’re all equally unique and important, and he lists all of their individual skills, strengths and weaknesses.
And it’s not just me being bothered by that, here’s a post by @cacodaemonia saying the same thing.
Introducing the Bad Batch as "unique" clones who are "different" and "not like their brothers" because they have different faces and skills completely breaks that theme of the show!! Because the entire point of the Clones in TCW is that their faces don't matter, they ARE unique!
(Plus the Bad Batch’s character designs are so cliche and uninspired it’s just laughable to try and justify bleaching their freaking skin for the sake of visual diversity.
Tumblr media
This took like 10 seconds. I found the first guy by literally googling “soldier movies,” and the other two are Team Fortress characters that look a LOT like Wrecker and Crosshair. One is “Heavy” and one is “Sniper” lmao.
And behold:
Tumblr media
The above picture is a Team Fortress reference that I found just by looking up “bad batch clone wars,” so I’m not the only person who sees it.)
And the batchers don't even have personalities to justify calling them unique! They have no character traits beyond the most cliché american soldier tropes ever. We have a token loner sniper, a token "smart tech guy" who knows everything from xenoanthropology to biology to Separatist computers to sound waves to encryption, a token Badass Brooding Leader and a token “dumb muscle guy.”
I dare anyone to find more about their personalities than this: - Crosshair is the perpetually grumpy sniper who looks down on "regs,” - Wrecker likes to blow up stuff and doesn't like heights, - Hunter is the leader and is friends with Cody, - Tech is smart doesn't trust Echo.
That’s it, that’s literally it. Four episodes about them and that's all we get. These character tropes are literally the least inventive ever. FFS, Hunter even has a freaking KNIFE! Not a vibroblade, mind you, like in kriffing Star Wars. A knife. Against metal droids. Why. They couldn’t make this more of an american-war-movies cliché fest if they tried. (And sure, he can feel electromagnetic waves so maybe it does make sense for him not to carry a vibroblade and maybe this is nitpicking, but he looks like a ripoff of a Predator character and it pisses me off).
Another thing is that when you introduce characters you have to make them likable - and them despising the normal Clones is a terrible way to do that! And they don't even grow from that because at the end of the 4 episodes arc they just see Rex as not bad "for a reg" and they see Echo as no longer a reg, and both of these things are infuriating!
The worst thing imo is that Echo then becomes part of them (and irreparably loses his melanin in the process, uuuuuuuuugh) when there is nothing to justify this.
The dialogue goes like this:
ECHO: You coming? TECH: Not really our thing. CROSSHAIR: Accolades. WRECKER: Yeah, we're just in it for the thrill. Yo! HUNTER: You sure it's your thing? ECHO: What do you mean? HUNTER: Your path is different. Like ours. If you ever feel like you don't fit in with them, well, find us. (they leave) REX: Those are some of the finest troopers I've ever fought alongside. Echo. You and I go way back. If that's where you feel your place is, then that's where you belong.
Echo doesn't feel like he belongs anymore, okay, but why would he feel like he belongs with the assholes who up to the last five minutes of the mission thought he was probably a traitor, and also verbally expressed that he was not worth saving?? In all of the arc, Echo himself never voices that he feels he’s not ‘like the other Clones’ anymore and that he feels it’s a problem. His relationship with Rex immediately picks up where they left things off - the first thing he does upon being lucid again for the first in over a year is cracking a joke for Rex’s benefit.
Why would Echo feel like he doesn’t belong in the 501st anymore, when we don't even see him interacting with anyone from his past life except for Rex and Anakin (who are both extremely very supportive of him)?? If there had been one scene of a “regular” Clone (ugh) looking at him with horror and disgust or something, or just Kix and Jesse cracking jokes with Echo awkwardly standing by the side not getting it, I could forgive the show trying to make it feel like he has an identity crisis, but this was so shallow!
The only thing that makes Echo and the Bad Batch’s experiences similar is that they *look* different. It’s so against the themes of the Clones I’m seething just from thinking about it. And what the hell? Echo ALREADY didn’t fit in. That was the WHOLE POINT of Domino Squad. They didn’t fit in because they thought they were better than anyone else because they had trouble getting along with their brothers, so obviously it had to be their brothers’ fault (ahem, Bad Batch?). And you know what happened? Domino Squad OVERCAME that. And Echo and Fives still didn’t “fit in” because their personalities were unique and creative, and they became ARC Troopers because Cody, Rex and the Jedi VALUED THEM FOR PRECISELY THAT. Echo having new and unique skills and a modified appearance is the most bs justification for him feeling like he doesn’t belong!!
And that brings me to my biggest issue: Rex telling Echo the bad batch are some of the best troopers he's ever met. I'm sorry, based on WHAT? What Rex values above everything is loyalty and brotherhood, and the Bad Batch DOESN'T DISPLAY ANY OF THAT. We never see them even expressing concern for each other! Wrecker treats saving Cody’s life like a trivial issue, because it’s just ‘sO eAsY’ for him, and beyond that we never see them supporting each other or genuinely expressing affection for each other beyond boasting about each other’s skills...
Sure they can destroy a lot of droids, but they're dismissive of Rex's brothers, and the entire Umbara arc and this arc showed what he thought of that. They keep saying things like "not bad for a reg,” don't show any trust in Rex's skills or experience (even though they can't have been fighting in the war for more than a year and a half when he’s been there from the beginning, and he outranks all of them), they are essentially guerilla fighters which has only minimal value in a galactic war, and they never grow beyond their views of what regs are, and can and can’t do.
None of that should make them good troopers in Rex's book. Going back to Echo not fitting in, remember who taught the Domino Squad the importance of seeing all of your brothers as important and equally valuable? Shaak Ti, true, but more importantly? 99! The guy the Bad Batch are named after. He did have value and was important and was no less of a trooper than his brothers, even though his mutations made him LESS powerful, not more. (And btw, just from a writing standpoint, the batchers don’t have any weaknesses, which is shit.) Cody and Rex mourned 99 as a true soldier even though it wasn’t his sacrifice that brought them victory (which would have implied that he had value as a soldier and a brother because he saved them, as opposed to him having that value intrinsically), because that’s what a fine trooper is to them. A BROTHER first a foremost, someone altruistic, brave and loyal. The Bad Batch distort the meaning of 99's character with their behavior. They’re not altruistic, their bravery is mitigated by the fact that they’re freaking invincible, so of course they take risks (again, see Wrecker saving Cody without a care because it’s easy to him, as opposed to Rex being ready to run into a burning ship about to explode because his brother is in there, and having to be physically dragged away). The Bad Batch denigrate their brothers for being less skilled, thinking their own abilities make them unique somehow, when 99 could barely fight and was still the one who taught Hevy about being a good soldier.
And again the batchers don't grow from that. Which is all the more frustrating because the original ending didn’t have Echo joining them, from what I remember of the unfinished episodes, and the arc actually ended with them receiving their medals in front of regular troopers who cheer for them, as opposed to them smugly ostracizing themselves and dismissing the ceremony as trivial and meaningless. (original ending vs s7 ending: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ab1eCfzKamw)
It’s so annoying. Do you know what characters never had an entire arc dedicated to them and still have far more personality and more interesting designs and more symbolic weight??
Jesse, for starters. Kix. Dogma. Cut. Slick. Keeli. Ponds. Rys, Jek and Thire. Commander Doom. Commander Fox. Wolffe. Hevy. Hardcase.
Cody was a more interesting character just in his RotS appearances.
Waxer and Boil had one episode about them and then only two cameos plus Waxer’s death, and they’re still some of the most memorable, beloved Clones of the whole show. And Boil was grouchy and prejudiced like Crosshair, but he has so much growth that we could make a whole thread about it.
I'd say the last problem with the Bad Batch is that it has cash grabbing money hungry vibes. Different faces are more marketable, cliché personalities are more toy-friendly, and it's basically a big ad for the Bad Batch series. And they throw Echo in the Batch at the end for bs reasons (again, it wasn’t in the original ep from what I remember) and they tease Cody in the show to make sure fans will still watch even if they notice the lack of soul. And less melanin sells more at Disney apparently.
So that’s my whole pissed rant.
Can I make a request with the slashers(whoever you would like)who has a s/o who doesn’t know what they do so when they catch them in the act, the s/o reaction to it is scared and they want to or try to leave the slashers. (If that makes since)
The Slashers’ S/O finding out about what they do:
Thomas Hewitt
You had known Thomas for a while now. When he worked at the meat processing plant. He was quiet, kept to himself, but he was sweet. The sweetest man you had met in that place.
The two of you became close, you started dating.
Then the factory closed, most people moved out of town. You were trying to stay but it was getting difficult.
But the Hewitts stayed and you visited Thomas everyday. Luda May loved you and you loved her, thinking of her as a mother figure.
You loved Thomas and he loved you, more than anything.
You visited everyday, and today it seemed that nobody was home. But the door was open so you just let yourself in, knowing nobody would mind.
You called for Thomas but got no response. But you heard a sound in the basement.
Maybe he was doing some repairs or something down there? You just shrugged and headed down the stairs.
You froze at the bottom of the stairs.
There Thomas was, the man you loved, hacking up a body, reminding you of his time at the factory...but much more disturbing.
The stair creaked as you shifted, catching Thomas’ attention.
He turned, expecting Hoyt or Luda May but he saw you and froze.
“Tommy...”
You looked between him and the body of a young man before coming to your senses, darting back up the stairs and out of the house.
Thomas followed behind you. He wanted to explain...to beg for forgiveness...or do something.
He stopped at the front door, watching you cry as you climbed into your car and drove off.
Hoyt would have told him to go after you, you were a witness, he had to stop you. But Thomas stayed in the door way, tears staining his cheeks as he watched you leave. He let you go.
You were the best thing that ever happened to him, the only person to show him kindness and love. You made him feel like he might actually deserve love, somebody as good as you, but he didn’t. Of course he didn’t.
And he didn’t blame you for running.
He’s glad you did. He’d miss you more than anything, he would always love you, but a part of him is glad that you ran.
You deserved better than this, better than him.
You didn’t deserve to be dragged into this.
He wasn’t mad at you, just distraught that he didn’t get one more chance to tell you that he loved you, to hear you say that you loved him, before you left.
You decided that this would be a very good time to finally get out of time. For good.
You just didn’t know how Thomas was capable of this. He was always so sweet, kind, and considerate. Despite his size, he was incredibly gentle whenever he touched you, with everything he did.
You would never have guessed that he could hurt somebody, kill somebody and then...chop them up?
You wiped your tears as you drove home. Planning on grabbing your stuff before heading out just like the rest of the town had. They had it right this whole time...
Bo Sinclair
Keeping someone oblivious to the sinister truth of the town was difficult but Bo would be damned if he didn’t try his hardest to keep you away from it. You were the only person who could calm him down, the only person who had such a soothing effect on him and accepted him for who he was. He didn’t want you to find out.
But it was only matter of time and it happened in the worst way possible, you saw him kill somebody.
He hadn’t even noticed you until he stood up and turned to you, seeing you frozen to the spot, eyes wide in fear.
“Sweetheart, listen to me. We’re alright, you don’t need to freak out” Bo held his hands out to his sides, like he was trying to show you that he wasn’t going to hurt you.
“Freak out?! Bo you just-you killed him!” you exclaimed, completely horrified.
“There’s so much you don’t know” he told you, making you even more confused. Had he does this before? What else had he been hiding from you?
“Let’s just go back to the house, forget all about this” he suggested, walking up to you.
“...he was a nice kid...even apologised for cussing in front of me...he wouldn’t have hurt you and you-you killed him” you shook your head, taking steps backwards to keep your distance from the man you loved.
“Come on” Bo muttered, grabbing your arm firmly but not hard enough to hurt, before pulling you back up to the house.
You fought against him, nervous to even be around him.
“What about him? What are you going to do with him?” you asked, glancing back at where the body lay but it was soon out of sight.
“Vincent will deal with it” Bo assured you.
“Vincent? What the hell is going on, Bo?!” you looked back to him with wide eyes. Vincent wouldn’t hurt anyone...right?
Soon enough, you were back in the house. You wanted to give Bo the benefit of the doubt, maybe the man attacked him? You doubted it but it could have happened...
But those hopes where smashed when Bo told you the truth about everything, seemingly mad at himself.
“You mean...the figures...oh god” the horror on your face make Bo’s stomach tighten in the most unpleasant way.
You were mortified by the truth, scared of what happened here, scared of him.
“I...I’ve got to go” you mumbled, like you were in a daze, but all you knew was that you needed to get out of the town.
“Oh yeah? Where are you going to go?” Bo snapped slightly, his anger at you wanting to leave him getting the better of him for a moment.
“I’ll figure it out” you didn’t know, you didn’t care. You just had to get away from all of this.
“Y/n, you’re smarter than this. Now that you know about all this...we can’t let you leave” he told you. That was exactly what you were worried about.
“Bo...please...” you pleaded, tears streaming down your cheeks.
“I’m not going to hurt you” Bo promised but how could you take his word for anything any more.
“Then let me go” you begged.
“I can’t” he shook his head.
You made a rush for the door but Bo quickly caught you, his heart aching when you screamed out.
But he tried to shush you, tried to sooth you. Holding you against his chest tightly.
Eventually your body stopped fighting and you went limp in his hold, crying into his chest as he held you, one hand stroking your hair.
Everything had changed, nothing would be the same again. You were the one person who hadn’t treated him like some sort of monster or nuisance. You loved him, cared for him, and now you might never do that again.
But he couldn’t risk you leaving and telling people about the town, he just couldn’t.
Vincent Sinclair
How he had managed to hide the dark truth about the town from you, Vincent had no idea.
He felt awful for lying to you but you came here during a hard time in your life, found a home here...you had treated him with so much love and kindness.
He loved you so much and you loved him dearly. So, he wanted to keep that a secret from you, to protect you from the awful things he and his brothers did.
But you found out...in the worst way he could imagine. He hadn’t locked the door to his workroom, and you wanted skipped right down the stairs.
You expected to find the man you loved working on his next piece of art, not covering a living human being with wax. By the time you got there, it was too late to stop the process.
“Vincent?” you spoke before you could think.
Despite being horrified, you couldn’t bring yourself to be completely scared of him. You thought you had known him so well, that he was the gentlest man you had ever met. He was so sweet, gentle, considerate, loving, timid...how could he hurt somebody like this?
Vincent quickly turned to you, completely mortified that you had seen any of this.
You couldn’t stand the sight, it was disgusting and not something you would quickly forget, so you quickly made your way back up the stairs.
Vincent hurried behind you. He wouldn’t grab you and he’d try not to scare you anymore but he couldn’t just let you run off. He hoped that there was some way you could forgive him for all of this...but he knew it was unlikely.
You had just left the house as Bo climbed out of his truck. It only took one look at your scared, teary expression to know what was going on.
It was Bo that physically caught you, asking what was wrong. But you tried to get out of his hold, knowing that whatever was going on here had to involve all of the brothers.
When Vincent hurried out of the house, seeing you and Bo, he headed over. He placed a hand on your shoulder, batting Bo away from you.
“You better handle this, Vincent. They can’t leave” Bo’s tone darkened slightly before he walked away, heading inside.
You quickly turned back to Vincent, eyes wide and teary.
You felt sick. Seeing that...knowing what Vincent did...what they all do...remembering all the times you had praised Vincent on the figures and how realistic they looks, oh god, you might throw up.
Vincent could see that and instinctively tried to comfort you, his heart stinging when you flinched away.
“...Bo’s not going to let me leave, is he?” you asked, voice cracking slightly, already knowing the answer.
A part of you still believed that Vincent would let you leave, he had never been anything but wonderful to you, you had to believe that at least some of that was real. But Bo had always been more wary of you, more intense, and you knew he was in charge here.
Vincent just shook his head, hating the way that the answer made you cry.
He knew you were scared and you had every right to be, but it still hurt that the thought of staying here with him made you sob like that.
“Please, Vinny” you pleaded.
What were you meant to do? Run? Bo would catch you and there was nowhere to do. There was no way you could make it to the nearest town without Bo finding you and bring you right back.
The look that Vincent gave you was sincerely apologetic and his touch was still gentle as he walked you back into the house, patient with your reluctant steps.
Nothing was going to be the same. Vincent knew what. You might have to stay here but now it will be against your will.
You will still be here but he had already lost you. Vincent knew that.
Lester Sinclair
You had thought Ambrose was a blessing. The three brothers taking you in during your time of need. You moved in properly with Lester a little later when you started dating.
But this town was far from a blessing, you realised that when you discovered the truth about the town, learning about how the brothers got their victims and what they did to them.
As soon as you saw all of this, you hurried back to the home you shared with Lester.
Oh Lester...sweet, energetic, kind Lester...how could he be apart of this?
You packed up a bag of things you’d need but before you made it out the door, Lester arrived him.
His heart broke when he saw you with your bag. You knew...you knew everything and you wanted to leave, you wanted to leave him...
“Y/n, I...I’m sorry” was he apologising for being involved in those people’s deaths, he guessed so. He knew it wouldn’t help but he hoped you could see his sincerity.
“How could you be a part of this, Lester?” you asked, tears staining your cheeks. You just couldn’t picture the man you loved ever purposely hurting an innocent person.
“I...I’m sorry” he wanted to give you an explanation just like you deserved but he didn’t have one, not one that would make things better. So he just apologised again, because he was so sorry that you had to see any of this. “...you’re leaving?” he asked, already knowing the answer and it killed him.
“Will you let me?” you asked, a little nervous about his response. You were terrified of what was happening in Ambrose, you didn’t want to be terrified of him as well.
Lester just nodded, giving you some sense of relief. You were free to leave.
You hung your head, unable to look at the man you loved, as you walked past him.
“Please, Y/n” Lester’s cracking voice made you stop, ready to hear whatever it was that he had to say. “...please just forget about Ambrose...” he pleaded with you. This time you just nodded before walking out the door.
You hoped you would be able to forget about this place but you doubted it.
Lester knew that he had to let you go. He shouldn’t have let you stayed in the first place, he shouldn’t have dragged you into this, he had to let you go because he loved you and thought you deserved better.
But he knew that Bo was going to go crazy about this but Bo wasn’t here right now, he wouldn’t have to find out until sometime tomorrow. By then you would be long gone.
Asa Emory (The Collector)
It was pretty late and Asa was staying late at work again (at least, that was what he told you). You were just about to turn in for the night when there was a knock on the door.
It wasn’t like Asa to forget his keys...and he took the car, so it couldn’t have been him.
You answered the door but nobody was there, just a folder on the doorstep. Asa would have chastised you for picking up a mysterious package and taking into the house but you were curious.
You sat down in the lounge and took a closer look, the notice taped to the front making you pause.
“Do you know where he goes at night?”
Was whoever left this for you talking about Asa? They had to be...
Your mind instantly went to that he was cheating on you. Now, you really didn’t think he would be cheating on you, that he would do that to you, but what else could that note mean?
You opened the folder and pulled out a stack of photos. You gasped at the images, nearly dropping them at first.
Various images of mutilated bodies, horrific...creations? God, why would anyone send you this and what did it have to do with Asa?
Coming to the last few photos there was a man with the victims, wearing some sort of dark mask.
It wasn’t until the last two photos that you knew without a doubt what all of this was about. The last photos showed the man removing his mask, revealing the face of the man you loved.
He made these...things? With body parts of people he...murdered? How could he do something so awful?
You threw the photos down onto the coffee table, wiping your tears and trying to not throw up your dinner. Asa hurt these people, killed them and made monstrous creations...and you had absolutely no idea...
You had to get out of here before he came home...
You jumped to your feet and headed for the bedroom. You needed to pack some belongings and leave, you were worried about what he would do when he found out that you knew. Even if you still couldn’t fully believe it.
The sound of a car pulling up outside made you pause.
Asa was home.
You heard the front door open and close. The lights were on, he knew you were still awake, so he called for you.
You panicked, tears still rolling down your cheeks as you locked the bedroom door.
Asa’s brow furrowed when he got no response from you but he paused when he walked into the lounge, seeing the photos scattered over the table. Who had sent these to you? He was going to kill them...
He called your name again but it only made you cry harder.
He walked up the stairs and towards the bedroom door, attempting to open it but finding it locked.
“Y/n. Open the door” he ordered, surprisingly gentle. “I know what you saw, let me explain everything to you.”
You had nowhere to go, you were locked in the bedroom. The only way out was through that door and Asa was on the other side.
“Did-did you do it?” you asked. You just needed him to give you an answer that proved those images wrong, to give you an explanation. You needed him to convince you that he hadn’t done those things.
Both of you were standing on either side of the door now, talking through the wood.
“You saw those photos. You know it was me. I’m not going to insult you by lying to you, you wouldn’t really believe me anyway” he sounded so calm. Too calm. It wasn’t the voice of somebody who’s partner just found out they were a serial killer.
“...why?” you had no idea why you asked that question. It didn’t matter, in the end. But a part of you needed to know why the man you loved would do something so vile.
“I don’t think I have a satisfying answer to that question” was his answer. He was right, that wasn’t what you wanted to hear at all. Though, you didn’t really know what you wanted to hear.
“...what now?” you felt safe behind this door. Even if you knew that you couldn’t stay behind it forever.
“I can’t let you go. Not knowing what you know, you know that” his calmness was more unsettling than the images...how could he be so calm about this?!
“I-I won’t tell anyone” you promised.
“Y/n, you know I can’t risk that” he was right and even you knew that.
“...please” you pleaded.
“I’m not going to hurt you, you just have to stay. I promise you’ll be okay, with me” Asa sounded convincing and you wanted to believe him but how could you when you found out that he had been hiding so much from you?
“Asa...”
“Open the door” he ordered again.
You didn’t. You fell asleep eventually, waking up to the door still locked. You thought that maybe Asa had given up but you knew that wasn’t like him. You whispered his name through the door and he was quick to respond. You weren’t getting out of this room without running straight into Asa.
That’s when you realised that you weren’t leaving. Asa couldn’t let you go.
Jesse Cromeans (Chromeskull)
Jesse has plenty of enemies, not that you know that, and it was one of those enemies that decided that the best way to get to him was through you.
You were home alone, Jesse away on a business trip, when somebody rang the doorbell.
When you answered the door, nobody was there. Just a box set on the doorstep.
You were careful, you looked around, gently opened the box but only saw videotapes. Weird.
You took the box inside and took a closer look. There were plenty of videotapes, the box full. Each one was labelled by a state, a town, a month. You didn’t know what any of that meant.
So, like an idiot, you played a tape.
You were horrified. The video was of a young woman being murdered gruesomely.
Why would anyone send you a box of snuff films? Who could be so disturbed.
And something in your gut told you that these were real.
You were just about to turn it off, sick to your stomach, about to call the police. About to message Jesse about this awful thing.
But then a man walked into frame. Bald, tall, fitted black suit, and wearing a chrome skull mask. Something so...unsettlingly familiar.
It couldn’t be...it just couldn’t be your Jesse...
But it was and you knew it. You turned off the video, ejecting the tape and throwing it to the ground, tears streaming down your face.
All these tapes...proof of the horrific, sadistic murders that the man you loved had committed.
The front door opening and closing made you jump...
You turned and came face to face with the man.
He was about to sign a greeting as he approached you but stopped when he saw your terrified, tear stained face.
He took in your expression for glancing down at the box of tapes, noticing the one you had thrown down and broken...how did you get those tapes? Of course, he knew what they were instantly.
He was going to find out who gave you these and he was going to make sure they regretted it.
“Jesse...please tell me these aren’t real...that, that isn’t you” you pleaded with him, even if you knew the truth now. He didn’t respond, just stared at the box of tapes. “They’re-they’re all yours?...all you?” you asked.
You let out a broken sob when he nodded. There was no point lying now, you knew, it was over.
How could the man you loved do these things? He had always be so wonderful, so perfect, if you didn’t have all this evidence, you wouldn’t have believed it.
“...are you going to hurt me?” you asked and he shook his head.
God, you wanted so badly to believe him but after seeing what he was capable of...you just didn’t know anymore.
“How could you do those things, Jesse?” this was the man you wanted to marry...but you didn’t know him at all.
He took a step towards you but you took one back. You were scared of him...and that was the last thing he ever wanted.
‘I’m not going to hurt you’ he signed. ‘...I’m sorry...’ he apologised because that’s all he could do. There was no explanation he could give you, no gift or gesture that would earn your forgiveness, there was nothing he could do to make this right. All he could do was give you a weak apologise.
“...you’re...I don’t know you, you’re not my Jesse...I...” he stepped towards you again but you took five steps back this time.
The images on those tapes flashed through your mind. Those women, the way he killed them...how could he ever do something like that and come home to you. To touch you, to love you. You were disgusted with him and yourself.
It must have been the adrenaline in your body but you finally took action, not bothering to grab your coat as you hurried past him and towards the front door.
You gasped when he caught your arm, looking up at him with fearful eyes. His grip was firm but he was true to his word, he wasn’t hurting you.
“I’m leaving, Jesse” you told him as firmly as you could, voice faltering.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. Still holding you as he typed something.
He turned the screen to you so that you could read it.
‘NO POLICE’
What where you supposed to do. Whatever it took to get out of here.
So, you nodded.
He turned the phone back to himself, typing something new and showing it to you again.
‘I LOVE YOU’
You let out another sob and he released your arm.
You left the house, no knowing where exactly you were going. A friends house? The police station? You didn’t know.
All you did know was that more gifts kept arriving expect these were clothes, jewellery, just stacks of cash. Was Jesse apologising, trying to win you back, pay you off, buy your silence, or just making sure you’re alright? You didn’t know.
Obviously, you left Jesse but that didn’t mean that he had to like it. He still watched over you, made sure you had the money you needed to live a good life.
Jesse sincerely hoped you would keep your promise of not going to the police. If you didn’t, he could just let you go, keep you on your feet. But if you went to the police...he would have to deal with it one way or another.
Otis Driftwood
Otis had met you in a bar, it was that simple. The two of you hit it off like he had never done with somebody before. He never hid any part of himself (other than the crimes he’s committed) and you still seemed interested in him.
You knew that he and his family were...beyond odd, but you didn’t know that they hurt people. So you continued to give him the benefit of the doubt.
You dated. You loved him and he loved you.
You had gone to the Firefly residence and let yourself in like you usually did. You normally planned a time to meet with Otis but you decided that you just needed to see him now.
You called out to him but no response came, nobody was here but the door was unlocked...
You were just going to wait or come back later but then you heard something bang in the basement.
You had never been down there before, you never had a reason or desire too but if somebody was down there, maybe they could tell you when Otis would be back. Or maybe it was Otis!
So you headed down the stairs and into the basement.
“Oh my God...” you completely froze when you stepped into the room.
People, held in cages, were cowering together, bloody and beaten. They begged for mercy, for your help. But what you were staring at was Otis, covered in blood. He had turned to you, surprise on his face and knife in his hand.
Otis knew it was only a matter of time, the family didn’t hide their true nature very well. He just didn’t think it would be now, he wanted longer with you. Because he knew that as soon as you found out, you’d be gone.
You ran. You had that much sense.
You ran up the stairs, through the house, and out the front door, with Otis right behind you.
You always knew he was strange, had an interested in morbid things, but you never would have guessed sadistic killer. Who would just assume that?!
You never worried that he would hurt you, but now you did.
Once you got a few feet from the house, you had to come to a stop. Even if your whole body was telling you to keep running but you curled over and threw up.
Those poor people...all the gore in that basement...on Otis...what had he done and how many people had he done it too?
“Y/n-” Otis’ voice coming from behind you made you snap back up, turning to him but stepping backwards.
“Get away from me” you were terrified and disgusted, he could see it on your face.
“I would never hurt you. You know that” Otis assured you, while he stood there splattered in somebody else’s blood. It would have been comical to somebody with a fucked up sense of humour.
“...I don’t...” you shook your head, your answer quiet.
“’course you do. Have I ever hurt you before?” he asked but that didn’t matter anymore.
“You hurt those people!” you remined him.
Maybe if you knew the details of his other crimes, you wouldn’t have been able to snap at him so easily. You definitely would throw up again, that’s for sure.
“Hey, what’s going on here?” Baby’s cheerful voice caught the attention of both of you. “Oh shit...they found out, didn’t they?” she asked, still smiling like nothing was wrong.
“Go inside, Baby” Otis ordered sternly.
“Aw don’t worry, hun. Otis ain’t gonna hurt ya, he loves ya!” Baby assured you.
“I’ve got to go...” you mumbled, turning and making your escape again.
“Are they going to talk, Otis?” Baby asked her brother, both of them knowing they can’t let you go to the police or anything.
“I have it handled” Otis huffed before following after you, making Baby scoff.
Well...you weren’t dead, but your relationship with the family was far from over. Otis couldn’t just let you go around running your mouth about them but he didn’t want to hurt you either.
Hopefully, the two of you can figure something out once you’ve calmed down...
