in sickness and in health
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
author’s note: please take care of yourselves everyone! being sick is not fun. dedicating this to my dear @babyleostuff <3
synopsis: when you get food poisoning cheol is ready to sacrifice his night to take care of you.
word count: 1.0k | genre: fluff, comfort | pairing: cheol x gn! reader | warnings: mentions of throwing up, being sick, fever, exhaustion, bad mental health
it was around 12am when you realised something was wrong; you never really got sick, but you could feel it coming before it even happened; head pounding and shivers crawling up and down your spine, making you anxious. after a bit of panicking about why you felt this bad you calmed yourself down and went back to scrolling through social media on your phone, scared of waking and troubling the man next to you. seungcheol was already asleep by that time, being extremely tired from working since 3am, having been to several music show recordings and dance practices. you found him so peaceful as he slept and you were so glad to see him rest after many days of hard work. however as the minutes went by while looking at your phone you could sense an increasing nauseating feeling in your stomach, not being able to focus on the blogpost you were reading anymore, being too occupied with trying to make it stop and squirming under the blankets of your cozy king sized bed to make it more bearable. as if on cue to the peak of your struggles cheol stirred in his sleep next to your helpessly thrashing form, turning to you, his sleepy frame trying to process the cause of your distress. “what’s wrong, my love?” he asked, voice barely above a whisper. “don’t worry, nothing. go back to sleep.” you tried to sound as convincing as you could. he didn’t buy it. “love, i know something is up. tell me, please?” he begged, more alert when he saw how your protests were interrupted by a weak sob. “i think i am gonna throw up cheol.” you mumbled with a terrified look on your face, trying to stay perfectly still so your upset stomach could get some relief. seungcheol first thought that you were trying to pull a prank on him since you never got sick, but when he looked at your features closer he realised how pale you looked, and how sweat was glistening on your skin. “you sure? like right now?” he sat up in no time as the question left his mouth, ready to take you to the bathroom to let out whatever was making you feel so miserable. you didn’t have time to answer him whatsoever as you bolted towards the mentioned room, getting to the toilet just in time for the agonising pain and suffering of the next few hours to begin. in your hurry you had a hopeless attempt to lock the door in order to shut cheol out; you hated if he saw you in any other state than your most perfect one, if he saw your imperfections, how you felt unwell sometimes or how you struggled with life from time to time. he always scolded you for thinking this way, but you couldn’t stop it; you wanted to be his strong partner, someone who he could rely on whenever he needed to. “i am coming in.” you heard him say and suddenly you felt a warm hand on your back and another one taking your hair out of your sweaty face, snapping you out of your feverish daze. “i am here, you are okay, love. breathe for me please. that’s it, good. let it all out. don’t worry i am here.” you could hear cheol’s voice through your eardums, blood pumping in your veins with much more speed than ever. seungcheol held you close to him as you spat in the bowl one last time, making sure you were really done before placing you on his lap, your knees no longer hitting the cold tiles of the bathroom, only feeling his warmth surrounding you. “my poor baby.” his voice was low and hurt while he kissed your forehead, frowning upon sensing how your skin burned under his touch. “you are burning up. you definitely have a fever my dear.“ he announced, but you could barely register his voice and words; you were utterly drained, barely able to keep your head up straight.
cheol of course took note of this, gently guiding you to lean into him even more while he got comfortable on the floor, cradling you into his chest. “i know you don’t feel good my love. do you know how did this happen?” he wondered with concern laced in his words. you slightly shifted in his arms, looking up at him. “i think i might have food poisoning, cheol.” he cooed at you, kissing the top of your head, rocking you from side to side as you whimpered in pain. “it’s okay love. it will be over soon i promise.” he chanted softly in an attempt to calm you down as exhaustion took over you, the high temperature making you shake with chills no matter how close seungcheol kept your body to his. “love, you with me?” he questioned after a few minutes of silence, but didn’t get a reply; you fell asleep fast, totally knocked out from the sudden wave of late night sickness. he was relieved to see that your immune system was trying to get that much needed sleep to heal, although he was concerned about the effects of not taking medication before your slumber; he didn’t have the heart to wake you so he let you rest anyways.
he never stopped holding you through the night, not even when he moved you to the bedroom and got a cold towel to put on your head, moving a trash can beside your bed just in case, or when he stayed up all night to watch over your distressed form, wishing that you would get better by the morning, kissing your cheek from time to time to let you know that he was there, that he was gonna take care of you no matter what.

HURTS SO BAD | PART 2 | CHOI SEUNGCHEOL
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary | seungcheol’s pov from my previous fic
genre | angst
word count | 1k
pairing | choi seungcheol x gn!reader
“Fuck you, Seungcheol.”
Instantly, as these words escaped your mouth, he regretted every single thing he just said, praying that he could somehow turn back time. But there was nothing he could do now, the damage was done, and he simply watched you leave with a heartbroken expression.
He wanted nothing more than to crumble into a small ball and hide somewhere far from here.
Despite the music still playing from the speakers, the silence in the room was almost deafening. Seungcheol could feel the hard stares from the boys, as they tried to wrap their heads around what just happened.
“Did you actually lose your mind?” Jeonghan was the first to speak up. Seungcheol didn’t dare to look up and face the disappointed expressions of his friends.
“Never in all those years we have been together have you ever said anything so cruel, no matter how fuck up things were. And now you lash out at your, mind you, partner for being worried about you?” Jeonghan scoffed, clearly angry at his bandmate.
Seungcheol knew that there was nothing he could say or do to make this situation better, he only stood there with hunched shoulders and a tight throat.
“What has gotten into me,” he thought.
Yes, he was stressed as hell, and everything irritated him lately, but he swore he would never take his anxiety out on you. Well, until now.
The jacket you threw at him caught his attention, laying abandoned on the floor. Is this how you feel right now - left behind and neglected, by the person who was supposed to love you no matter what? He took a step to pick it up, still feeling the warmth of your body coming from it.
“I’m going to fix this,” Seungcheol said quietly, putting the fabric to his chest.
“Did I hear you right, hyung? You’re going to make it right?” laughed Mingyu, approaching the older one. “You just yelled at your partner and told them the worst things you could have ever possibly said. We can put up with your bitchy behavior, but that’s not an excuse to treat them like shit,” he said, clearly very agitated by the whole affair.
“Let it go Mingyu, he knows what he has done. It’s his problem now how he’s going to get out of this shit,” said Jihoon, putting an arm on the taller’s shoulder to calm him down.
“Yeah, but it doesn’t change the fact that he just basically emotionally abused one of my best friends.”
“Hey, don’t you fucking dare saying I abused them in any way,” Seungcheol raised his voice at at younger boy, his emotions getting out of hand. “I know what I have done, and I’m going to make it right again,” he said, not exactly convinced himself.
“So what, you think you'll buy them flowers, pout and make puppy eyes, and they'll forgive you?” he scoffed and crossed his arms, making him look bigger than he already was.
“No, making puppy eyes is your thing, I’m not that cheap,” Seungcheol fired right back at him.
With each exchange between Seungcheol and Mingyu the tension only escalated, the atmosphere becoming charged with a mix of anger, frustration, and hurt. Their tones harsh and cutting, both of them tried to defend their position. Sadness, and disappointment were evident on their faces, further fueling the intensity of the situation.
“I messed up, alright? But you're acting like I hurt them on purpose-.”
“Well, to us it looked like you wanted to-.”
“Could you just stay the fuck away from my relationship and focus on your shitty love life?”
The rest of the boys, who were skeptically watching what was going on, knew this wouldn’t end well. Mingyu might have been passive most of the time, letting the others walk over him and still not batting an eye, but when it comes to his friends and their well being, he wouldn’t just stand around and watch.
Wonwoo who was standing by the mirrors slowly came up to Mingyu and patted his back.
“There is no use Mingoo, you’re not helping here,” he said sternly.
“Well, I have the right to be angry.”
“No one said you didn’t, but let’s not add more fuel to the fire, okay?”
Mingyu glared at Seungcheol for the final time, before turning around and walking out of the room.
“I’m going to check up on him,” said Mingaho.
As the tension evaporated the second Mingyu left, Seungcheol could feel his anger turn to sadness and powerlessness. Now not only has he hurt you, but also his friend, who was so dear to him.
Seungcheol felt trapped, not knowing what to do next and feeling extremely mentally and emotionally drained. He sighed deeply with a blank stare, drained from all of his usual energy.
With the silence still apparent, everyone parted ways to give Seungcheol some space. Only Jeonghan and Joshua stayed by his side, not knowing what to do.
“What am I supposed to do now?” asked the oldest, with a tired voice.
“We’re all here for you, Coups and you're not alone in this. Don’t worry about Mingyu for now, he’ll come around,” said Joshua. “Take a deep breath and try to think clearly about this.”
“It's just that everything seems to be going wrong, and I feel like I have no control over it.”
“We know, but you should have just talked to them. Why didn’t you do it? Why did it have to come to this Coups?” asked Jeonghan.
“I don’t know, I really don’t. I thought I was stronger than this, that it would pass and everything would be okay. I just didn’t want to be a burden to them.”
“Well that didn’t end up too well,” said Joshua, laughing at Seungcheol’s pouting face.
“Thank you for being here for me. I really need that right now.”
“Of course! That's what family is for. But that doesn’t change the fact that we’re all so pissed at you right now,” said Jeonghan.
“Yeah, for a second there I thought Mingyu was going to punch me or something,” chuckled Sungcheol.
“I wish he did,” muttered Joshua, and walked away quickly before the oldest could respond.
“I’m going to make this right,” thought Seungcheol. “No matter what it takes.”

☆ zips your jackets up whenever it's cold
you were never really the type to wear jackets, you thought they never suited you. even during the winter, you would always refuse, telling your friends and parents that you weren’t that cold and that the thin sweater you were wearing was enough. when you and seungcheol started talking, he was quite surprised to see you without a jacket and hiding your shivering self on a date. he immediately took off his jacket and draped it over your shoulder, before putting your arms in the sleeves and zipping the jacket up himself. and for the first time, you didn’t really mind wearing a jacket. his jacket. it was much bigger on you than it was on him and he ruffled your hair at the sight. you could only giggle in contentment as you wrapped your arms around yourself while burying your face in the collar of the warm clothing. and everytime seungcheol saw you afterwards, his jacket would mysteriously appear on your shoulders before he would pull you closer, zipping the jacket up and pecking you on the lips.
☆ kisses you before and after you apply lip gloss, lip balm or lipstick
seungcheol loves to kiss you, it’s one of his favorite things in the world. he was the one who initiated the first kiss, even if you were trying on your new lip balms after shopping. he kissed you when your coworker was looking at you a bit too intensely, even if you were wearing bright red lipstick. and he kissed you drunkenly at a new years eve party even if you had just reapplied a new layer of lip gloss. seungcheol just doesn’t care about whether or not the lip makeup is going to stain his lips, taste bad or make a mess because nothing could ever hold him back from kissing you. to prove that to you, (because you were sure he was lying when he told you) he would kiss you before and after you applied a layer of lip makeup, making you whine about having to reapply while he could only smirk, faint hints of your red lipstick on his lips.
☆ always helps you take off your heels
seungcheol is a big big fan of heels. he’s even a bigger fan of you in heels. so whenever you go out, you always make an effort to wear heels, even if they might hurt your ankles and you feel like you could trip at any moment. your boyfriend didn’t immediately realize that you were only wearing your heels for him, but when he did, he pouted, upset that you were willing to hurt yourself for such nonsense. when you got home after your dinner, you immediately let yourself fall back onto the couch, legs stretching in discomfort. in less than a second, seungcheol was in front of you, on his knees and holding your calf gently in his hand while unclasping the band and removing the shoe slowly. you were a blushing mess afterwards and on your next date, you surprised your boyfriend by wearing heels again. before he could protest, you patted his chest, whispering in his ear that you would only ever wear heels for him to take off. and how could seungcheol ever refuse such an attractive offer.
☆ touches your lower back
seungcheol is huge on public displays of affection. it’s a way for him to show you off, to show your relationship off, all the while keeping you close to him and being able to show you how much he loves you. seungcheol is very fond of having you by his side, being able to wrap his arm around your waist or shoulders and kiss the top of your head. you think it’s cute and sweet, but recently you’ve started noticing the way his hand would slide from your waist to your hips, sometimes almost landing on your lower back. it’s only when you wore one of seungcheol’s shirts that his hand found its way on your lower back, his palm warm in contrast to your cold skin as he had skillfully snaked his hand under your (his) loose shirt. he kept his hand there as he looked at you, love evident in his eyes, his thumb brushing small circles on your skin.

The past week, while definitely not the worst week of your life, was definitely up there.
You sighed, leaning forward and letting your forehead rest against the wheel. Taking a deep breath, you held it for a handful of seconds before releasing it; just as your therapist suggested. Then you thought of Seungcheol and his fluffy hair.
Feeling somewhat less stressed, you grabbed your backpack from the passenger seat and made your way inside, trying your best to ignore the bitter winter air that nipped at your thighs and legs. Ignoring the cold did nothing to actually prevent it, however, and you still fumbled with your apartment keys for a good minute before you were able to select the correct key and enter.
You dropped your bag off at the door and kicked off your shoes, and in a voice that sounded remarkably like your mother when she babytalked your niece, you called out for your cat.
You dropped your bag off at the door and kicked off your shoes, and in a voice that sounded remarkably like your mother when she babytalked your niece, you called out for your cat.
Stumbling away from the door and to the living room, you withdrew your phone from your pocket and slid open the new notification from Seungcheol.
Seungcheol: it sounds like you had a rough day.  im sorry. i wish i u didn’t. if u still feel up for it, i can be at ur apartment in twenty. but if u want to stay in or b alone tonight, i understand baby
There was a meow from below, and that was all the warning you had before your ancient tortoise shell cat was leaping onto your chest, her weight startling you for a moment. You peered at Wolfie, her lime colored eyes peering back at you. Then she meowed again, and you couldn’t help but laugh at it, as she sounded as if she had been a serious chain smoker for fifty years.
Wolfie ignored you, crawling forward and rubbing her head underneath your chin. She began purring, a deep thing that you could only truly appreciate if you were completely silent. You held your phone up in the air to type, leaving just enough space for Wolfie to curl up on your chest.
You: ya!!!! I actually just got home 🧡💛 Wolfie immediately curled up on me, so I’ll have to ask her about getting up to get ready.
You then snapped a picture of Wolfie on your chest and sent it to him. Letting your phone fall to the ground beside the couch, you began running your hands over Wolfie. Once upon a time, her fur had been soft and silky; it practically shined. But age had caught up to your precious companion, and you constantly fought back the urge to cry over how tough and wiry her fur felt underneath your fingertips.
Sighing, you closed your eyes and let your head sink completely into the pillows. You had been joking to Seungcheol about getting Wolfie’s permission to get up, but even without her added twelve pounds on your chest, you would’ve had a hard time getting up. It was as if you were Atlas, the Titan who carried the world on his back, and the weight of it was keeping you down.
Not to be misunderstood: you didn’t hate dates with Seungcheol, and most definitely didn’t despise time spent with him. As a matter of fact, you looked forward to every Friday, knowing that not only it marked the beginning of the weekend but was also your assigned date night with Seungcheol.
If you were honest with yourself, you looked forward to waking up every morning. It was stupid and cheesy, and if your teenage self could see you they would shake their head and roll their eyes. But whenever you opened your eyes, Wolfie’s weight resting on your chest, you immediately thought of him. He was the first person you texted in the morning, whether it be about a particular dream you had, something you saw in the news, or even the weather. You couldn’t help but want to talk to Seungcheol first thing in the morning, just as you couldn’t help but message him until you went to bed.
If you were frank with yourself, which was asking a lot, you wanted to talk to him all the time. It was so --
When you were a teenager, you had looked at your friends who were proclaiming their love for their partners only within a few months of dating with considerable scorn. After all, what did sixteen and eighteen year olds know about love? You had offered a listening ear to their troubles, empathizing with their adoration for their partner, while also mentally rolling your eyes and keeping yourself occupied with your books and music.
So you didn’t know what to do about Seungcheol. You didn’t know what to do about wanting to send him pictures of all the pretty flowers you saw; videos of Wolfie being cute and cuddly; pictures of sunsets and sunrises, of cute stuffed animals and all other pretty things that reminded you of Choi Seungcheol.
You inhaled, held it; released.
If you were frank with yourself, if you stood back and analyzed everything, all the emotions you felt for Seungcheol and all the things you wanted to do for him and all the things you dreamt of doing with him, it sounded like you maybe felt something more than the fluttering adoration and infatuation you had at the start of your relationship when he asked you out.
But you didn’t want to analyze that too much.
You groaned slightly, stretching out your legs. Wolfie let out a noise of protest before purring, her attempt at getting you to remain laying down.
“I’m sorry, baby,” you whispered, your hand going to rest on her head. You used your thumb to pet the space between her eyes. “I want to stay cuddled up with you forever, too. But I also want to see Cheolie.”
She adjusted herself on your chest, purring on. You did want to stay there in the dark with Wolfie, just as you had done during your early college days. Many evenings were spent like that, the two of you in your own space. More often than not, you felt like the world was on your shoulders -- just like Atlas -- and it was Wolfie’s own needs and wants that dragged you out of bed.
The past week had you debating on canceling with Seungcheol. Nothing major had happened, of course, but instead a bunch of small incidents and interactions that left bad tastes in your mouth had piled up. Just as a bunch of small pebbles pile up to build a mountain, these small things had piled to the point where you just wanted to turn away from the world.
But you couldn’t. You didn’t want to, more importantly. You didn’t want this past week, no matter how bad it might have been, to impede on your time with Seungcheol. You didn’t want to give up your time with him, not when it was -- not when he was -- so precious to you.
You settled an arm around Wolfie and slowly began to rise; she let out a few squeaks of protest. When Wolfie realized you weren’t going to stop, she huffed and wiggled out of your grasp. Tail high in the air, she walked over your legs to get to the arm rest opposite of you. She climbed on top of it and sat rather primly, looking at you with wide eyes.
“Are you my pretty little lady,” you asked, voice sweet. You shifted to reach out and pet her. “My pretty baby.”
Wolfie allowed you to pet her for a handful of seconds before she sharply twisted her head towards the front door. She sat, waiting, until there was a series of sharp knocks. Wolfie began growling deep in her throat, hackles raising.
“Y/n!” A deep voice called out, knocking stopping.
You cursed, springing up from the couch. You grabbed the hem of your sweatshirt and pulled it away from you, swatting at the cat hairs that had decided to take up room and board on your shirt. “Coming!”
Wolfie ran beside you as you made your way to the door, her tail raised straight in the air. She jumped on the little tree you had next to the door, letting out a croaky yowl when you weren’t fast enough to open it.
“Sorry, Wolfie, sorry --” You fumbled with the lock for a moment before successfully unclicking it. You wrenched open the door, a large, nearly comically so, smile already on your face. “Seungcheol!”
He was grinning back at you, eyes twinkling. Seungcheol was dressed in all black, from his heavy winter coat that was a size too big to his pants and boots. The beanie he wore was the only spot of color on him, it being a vibrant orange.
As always, despite his humble outfit, he was handsome and beautiful.
Something shifted inside of you. It was as if you had done the breathing exercise your therapist had suggested, but instead of lifting only a few pebbles off your shoulders it relieved you of half a mountain’s worth of weight.
You stepped back, letting him come into your apartment enough to shut the door behind him. Wolfie hopped off of her cat tree and went to him, winding herself around her legs. You went to follow suit, arms reaching out to him, but he stopped you.
Subconsciously your lips began to pout at his refusal. Seungcheol laughed, his hands going to his zipper. “Let me take off my coat before you hug me. It’s cold outside.”
“I don’t care about it being cold,” you mumbled, but did as he said.
As soon as he had his coat unzipped, Seungcheol reached out for you. He opened his coat just enough so you wouldn’t be touching the cold outer layer, his hands guiding you to rest against him.
He was warm; that was your first thought.
His arms surrounded you, pulling you close enough to where your nose was smashed against his chest. Not that you minded. Your arms slipped around him in turn, sliding underneath his coat and taking hold of the back of his hoodie. One of his hands went to the back of your head, fingertips sinking in your hair, and he guided you to rest your cheek against him.
Your eyes slipped shut of their own will. Humming, you nuzzled into him, breathing him in. Before Seungcheol, you never really gave much thought into what men smelled like; all you knew was they either smelled good or bad. But Seungcheol?
He smelled like -- well, like Choi Seungcheol. You knew he used expensive cologne, that he used fabric softeners and used the same body wash and lotion so the fragrance would be amplified. Your first impression of him had been that he smelled expensive, and even now, three months into your relationship, you couldn’t help but associate him with luxury.
But now?
He smelled like home.
That was your second thought.
“I’m sorry you had a bad day.” His face was pressed into your hair, just as yours was his chest, and you wondered if he was breathing you in, as you were him. The hand that was in your hair began to fumble with the strands before settling, his palm heavy on your head. He began petting you, as if you were a cat or a dog, but instead of feeling indignant you felt extremely at ease.
“It’s fine.”
He hummed, the sound coming deep from within him. You felt his chest vibrate against your face. “It’s not fine. I don’t like it when you’re suffering.”
You grinned, squeezing him. “I’m not suffering, Seungcheol. Just. Had a bad week. Besides,” you pulled away slightly, just enough to peer up at him with your little grin. “Somehow it doesn’t feel all that bad anymore.”
Seungcheol laughed, hands moving to your face. He pinched at your cheeks, not hard enough to hurt, before cupping them in his hands. His dark eyes were soft and sparkling as they looked at you, and you knew that no one suited brown eyes as well as he. They were warm and inviting, gentle and soft; perfect reflections of his soul.
He didn’t speak. He licked his lips and your eyes obediently went to his mouth. Seungcheol chuckled again, his hands tilting your face up. Expectant, your eyes slipped shut.
You waited for a second. Then another. Then a few more, and your eyes were opening in confusion. He was still watching you, smiling wide enough that his gums showed.
“Seungcheol!” You whined, brow furrowing.
He giggled, a boyish thing that seemed so at odds with his masculine build and voice. But it was him.
Seungcheol swooped down, his lips finally connecting with yours. You sighed at the contact, melting against him. The two of you exchanged chaste kisses back and forth, neither in a rush. It was as if your entire week had been hurtling towards this, towards you in his arms, his lips on yours, something settling in your heart that seemed a little too much to just be infatuation.
He pressed one final kiss to your mouth before straying, his lips ghosting over your cheek. They traveled about your face, his breath warm as it hit your skin. He pressed quick kisses to the apple of your cheek, the space between your brows, your temple; you hummed, satisfaction and safety seeping into your bones and soul, and he pressed a kiss to each of your eyes.
Seungcheol’s mouth returned to yours, and when he pressed another kiss to your mouth, firm like how someone would kiss a lover long gone, you couldn’t help but beam.
His own lips twisted into a smile in response. Your teeth clacked against his, both of you grinning into each other’s mouths.
“Sorry for teasing you, baby.” He pulled away from you, hands squeezing your cheeks before he released you. You wanted to stick yourself back into his arms, but held back. “You’re just so damn cute.”
You sighed, rolling your eyes in faux annoyance. You couldn’t fight the smile that was still on your face, though. “Whatever.”
“What --” Seungcheol stopped pulling off his coat for a moment to stare at you, eyes narrowing, as if you had done something sacrilegious. “Did you just say whatever to me saying you’re cute?”
He still had that appalled look on his face. You shifted back onto your heels, watching as he slowly continued pulling off his coat. You wondered if he was teasing you. “I mean. Thanks?”
“You are cute,” he declared, voice stern with authority. You couldn’t help the look of disbelief that appeared on your face. Seungcheol sighed, as if your skepticism was disappointing. He got one arm out of his coat. “You are. I don’t know who I have to punch to convince you --”
“Violence isn’t the answer to everything,” You chided. You finally left the entryway, moving to your kitchen. “I’ll get some hot chocolate ready for you, Seungcheol!”
He gave an affirmative noise in return. You pulled out your milk and went about heating it up. As it heated, you pulled out two mugs from the dishwasher, which was so full of dishes that had been shoved in that you had to wiggle the mugs back and forth to get them out.
You felt his presence behind you, and you felt embarrassment slowly creep its way up your neck and settle on your face. Standing, you refused to look him directly in the face. “I uh. Didn’t have the energy to really do dishes that much this week.”
Arms were wrapping around your waist, Seungcheol plastering himself to your back. You put the cocoa powder in the glasses. He slouched against you, his head tilted against yours, watching. He was warm, always warm. One of his arms moved to sling around your waist, the other across your chest.
You removed the milk from the microwave, pouring it evenly in the two mugs. Seungcheol shuffled with you as you shifted, grabbing the mini-marshmallows from the cupboard. Without much thought you distributed them before leaving the package on the counter.
“They’re not even.”
“Hm?”
Seungcheol sighed against your ear, as if whatever he had seen was greatly burdening him. “The marshmallows. There’s not an even amount in both mugs.”
“Oh.” You looked down, eyeing both the mugs. “You can have the one with more of them, then.”
Clicking his tongue, Seungcheol reached around you for the package. “You deserve to have the same amount of marshmallows as I do, baby.”
Feeling slightly as if this wasn’t just about marshmallows, you watched as Seungcheol’s fingers carefully counted out five more marshmallows and put them into the left mug. Before he could settle his hand back on your waist, you grabbed it.
You slid your hand on top of his, observing. His fingers were larger than yours, both in length and width. Seungcheol was pale, remarkably so, and his fingers were no different. Your fingers slid against his hand, feeling the little hairs on his knuckles and the ring on his forefinger. Your other hand joined your first in your navigation of his hand, smoothing over his fingernails -- which he kept trimmed and maintained, more than you -- feeling the sharpness of them in contrast to the soft pads of his fingers.
Seungcheol wiggled his fingers, and you felt a little giggle escape you as you wrapped your hands around three of his fingers, squeezing. He pressed himself further into you, and you felt every inch of him against you.
“Seungcheol --”
He pulled away, pressing a kiss to your ear. You peered over your shoulder at him, tilting your head. Seungcheol looked at you for a moment before smiling that gummy grin of his, his hands going to hold your head and bring it so he could press a kiss to your temple.
“Why are you so fucking cute,” he said, each word separated by a kiss to your forehead.
Seungcheol released you, picking up both mugs. You followed him into the living room, where he immediately went to the couch. Wolfie hopped onto the coffee table in front of it, sniffing both mugs. Seungcheol went to shoo her away but you stopped him, folding yourself into the couch next to him.
“She doesn’t drink it,” you said. You reached to the ground and pulled a blanket off of it, settling the blanket over your legs. “The only people food she likes is salami. The real kind, you know? Or she likes licking bowls after I eat Captain Crunch.”
Seungcheol laughed, and like always whenever you heard the sound, you giggled along with him. He shifted further into the couch, moving his feet to prop them up on the coffee table. He pulled the blanket off of you, shooting a look at you when you protested. Seungcheol grabbed your calves, guiding your legs to drape over his thighs. He then adjusted the blanket over the both of you, tucking both of you in.
“She’s a good girl,” Seungcheol agreed, reaching out. Wolfie took the hint and jumped onto your legs, climbing fervently up to his hand so he could pet her. He chuckled, obliging. “She’s awfully needy.”
He shot you a look, coy. “Just like someone else I know.”
You puffed out your cheeks, shooting him a glare. “You’re just as needy as I am, Mr. Choi Seungcheol!”
He gasped, openly insulted. “What did I say about calling me by my full name?”
You wiggled, reaching out and tugging one of his curls. “Well, when you start accusing someone it makes them do horrible things, Mr. Seungcheol. Like using full names.”
“Oh, does it?” He grinned. With one hand still petting Wolfie, he used the other hand to reach out and ruffle your hair. You let out an indignant squawk, waving your hand around to try and get him to stop. “Does it, then? Call me Choi Seungcheol again and see what happens!”
“Okay,” you laughed. “Choi Seungcheol, Choi Seungcheol, Choi Seungcheol.”
His mouth dropped, affronted. Seungcheol then huffed, moving his arm off of you and turning his face. “Fine. You’re lucky Wolfie is on your legs, otherwise I’d push you off.”
You laughed at his sulking, thoroughly endeared. You shifted forward, reaching up to wrap your arms around his neck. You tried to bring him down to you in order to kiss him, but Seungcheol resisted, straining against you. “Hey! I’m trying to make it better, Seungcheol!”
“Nope!” He said, shaking his head. His curls bounced with every movement, and you couldn’t help but smile in adoration. “No making it better, F/n L/n. You’ve done it.”
“Oooh,” you cooed, “I’ve done it, have I?”
He nodded, pushing his lips out in an exaggerated pout. “Yep. You’ve done it.”
“What have I done?”
“Agitated me.”
You laughed, a loud thing that startled Wolfie from your lap. She jumped off of the couch, her feet hitting the hardwood with a little thump!
“I’ve agitated you!” You echoed in between laughs. You fell back against the couch, head hitting the armrest at an awkward angle, no longer able to support yourself. When you peeked back at Seungcheol, he was raising his thick eyebrows at you, which set you off giggling again.
He moved your legs off of his thighs, moving around them and guiding them to rest on the couch. You watched, your smile so big it was starting to hurt your cheeks, as he descended upon you. He placed his knees on either side of your thighs, setting his weight against them. Seungcheol bent over you, his eyes sparkling with something dangerous, one eyebrow lifted.
“Now you’ve really done it,” he murmured, voice deep. It sent something coursing through you, something that ate away at the mirth and sent heat shooting through your heart and settling deep. Seungcheol leaned over you, one hand bracing against the armrest and the other guiding your head in a more comfortable position.
“I’ve really done it,” you echoed, dumbly.
“I’m sure you can make it up to me,” he said, absentmindedly. His fingers traced over your ear, nail scraping lightly; your eyes fluttered as they continued to glide over your skin, moving to your jaw. You felt two of his fingers prod at your lower lip before continuing, pulling at it slightly before moving to ghost over your chin.
You hummed, tongue reaching out to wet your lips. “I can.”
He lowered himself against you. He braced both hands on either side of your head, and your eyes slid shut as his face neared.
Then your phone began to buzz.
Your eyes flew open, staring into his. He was so close. He let out a huff of breath. The two of you waited for a second, and you knew he was trying to will the noise away just as much as you, but to no avail.
You tapped his thighs, and Seungcheol let out a deep sigh. He began raising himself off of you, and you couldn’t help but give his thighs a squeeze.
Seungcheol went to the other end of the couch as you hung your front half off of it, searching the ground for where your phone had fallen earlier. Once you got it, you wiggled frantically back onto the couch. You moved to press against Seungcheol, your thighs molding into one another, elbows knocking.
Your mood, which had been repaired by Seungcheol, began to dampen as soon as you saw the contact name of the person who had messaged you. Your weariness must have appeared on your face, as Seungcheol was immediately responding. He swung his arm around your shoulders and brought you closer, leaning his head against yours.
“What’s wrong, baby?”
Humming, you softly shook your head so as to not hurt his. “Just texts from my manager.”
You didn’t move to open the messages. It was like you were Atlas again. The weight returned, no matter how many pebbles and rocks Seungcheol had brushed off of your shoulders.
Seungcheol let out a little sigh. He wiggled about, turning onto his side to face you. He leaned forward and tucked his face into your neck, warm breath hitting your skin. Seungcheol laid his other arm over your stomach, hand gently squeezing at your lovehandle.
“You don’t have to answer it,” he murmured. You could feel his lips move against your skin. “You’re not in a manager position, and you’ve clocked out. It can wait.”
When you shook your head in answer, he sighed again. Seungcheol pressed a kiss to your neck, and a part of you couldn’t help but feel foolish at how your heart jumped and the corners of your lips twitched up into a little smile.
Unlocking your phone, you hurriedly tapped on your manager’s messages. Immediately you were met with five separate chat bubbles, all as unwelcome as the one before it. manager: so what was this I heard about you leaving early yesterday?
manager: I know you see other people leaving early, but that’s not something I encourage. It’s not something you should encourage, either.
manager: We rely on you to set an example to the others.
manager: You’re scheduled for a certain time, and you should be fulfilling that time.
manager: If this happens again I’ll have to look into shortening your hours.
Your mouth fell open with an audible noise, a small breath of air leaving you as you read over your manager’s messages. Seungcheol made an inquiring sound and you tilted your phone towards him so he could read the texts.
“What the fuck,” he muttered. “What the fuck. Who the fuck cares? Who the fuck -- so what you left early?”
“It was by ten minutes,” you softly said, sending out a quick affirmative to your manager to let them know you at least read the messages. “I was just. Tired, you know?”
Seungcheol straightened next to you, angling his head to read the texts again. His thick brows were narrowed, plump lips twisted into an irritable frown. “What the fuck. Ten minutes? This is over ten fucking minutes?”
“It’s just --” You broke off, fumbling with your phone for a moment. “It’s not like I do it all the time.”
“No, it’s not!” Seungcheol’s eyes were practically blazing as he looked at you, his grip on you tightening. He was fully irritated, gaze sharp and mouth firm. The urge to smile struck you for a split moment, your heart whispering with glee that he was angry over you; he was angry because of someone mistreating you.
“It’s fucking ridiculous,” Seungcheol announced. His fingers dug into your shirt. “You’re a model employee. You never call in, never leave early or without doing your shit. Who the fuck are they to -- to text you like that?”
“My manager, Cheolie,” you reminded him.
He scoffed, his hand leaving your body to push his curls away from his face. “Your manager -- fuck them, fuck! You’re a good person, a good employee. You’re an amazing person and if you want to leave ten minutes early, then you should! Fuck them!”
You were grinning now, your heart practically singing. It was nothing, you supposed. It wasn’t anything to get excited about, but there was something magnificent in seeing someone get angry over how others were treating you. It was wonderful to see another person so invested in your well-being and happiness, and it made your heart feel light.
It was like he had taken the boulder on your back -- the world on Atlas’s -- and smashed it between his two hands, his anger blazing bright enough to blaze through rock.
Seungcheol’s eyes met yours, and immediately his look softened. He sighed, though his lips were beginning to curve in his sweet smile. He tucked his face back into your neck, pressing another kiss underneath your ear. “Don’t look at me like that when I’m being righteously angry on your behalf.”
You laughed, throwing your head back. “‘Righteously angry?’”
He giggled, burying his face into your skin. He kissed you again there, before Seungcheol was removing his head. Seungcheol peered up at you, and you couldn’t help but admire him. His dark curls, how they brushed against his sweet, wide eyes; his eyelashes, those ridiculously long and dark lashes that made him look ridiculously endearing.
Fuck, how you wanted him.
“You know,” he began, lips in a coy smile. “You haven’t really given me a kiss hello.”
You clicked your tongue against the roof of your mouth, raising your brows. “The audacity -- I have! Do you not remember us at the door?”
He hummed, shaking his head. His curls bounced. “Nope! I distinctly recall that whole ordeal being led by me.”
“Oh, was it?”
“Yep.”
You laughed, turning to face him. You switched your phone to your left hand, and with your right you reached up and cupped his cheek. His skin was soft and smooth, and you couldn’t help but stroke his cheekbone. You then pressed your hand to his jaw. “Well, I better correct that then.”
You pressed your lips against his, three quick kisses in succession.
“Hm,” Seungcheol said. “I don’t know if that’s really enough to make up for it.”
“It’s not?” Then you pressed three more kisses. “How is that, sweetheart?”
Seungcheol shrugged. One of his hands settled on your waist, the other going to tuck your hair behind your ear. He traced his thumb over the shell of your ear before settling his hand right below it, on the hinge of your jaw. “Better, but not really satisfying, you know?”
“Not satisfying?” You asked, voice pitching high with amusement. His brown eyes were soft and twinkling, almost as if his soul was beckoning you closer, closer, to come closer and fall into his. You rose to your knees, letting your phone drop between the two of you. “I’ll just have to remedy that real quick.”
“I can tell you if it’s gonna be a quick one it won’t be real satisfying,” he chimed.
You rolled your eyes, lowering your face. His eyes were already on your lips, his tongue peeking out. “You don’t have to worry about it being satisfying.”
Then you were upon him. Your hands on his face, angling his head up and towards you. You pressed a kiss to his upper lip, chaste and sweet, before tilting your head. Like a wave intent on devouring, you moved your mouth onto his.
For a moment, Seungcheol let you work your mouth against his. Your kisses were wet and warm, and he was an obedient servant to the mastery your mouth had over him. Your hands sunk into his hair, nails scraping, fingers tugging. He was pliant beneath you, and you kissed him with the unhurried ease that all devote lovers practiced.
Then, rather impishly, you took his bottom lip between your teeth. He let out a breathy moan at it, and for a moment you couldn’t help but grin.
Pulling back, you tried to fight the surge of pride you felt as he surged after you. You subconsciously set a hand against his thick neck in an attempt to stop him from following, but Seungcheol paid no mind. Indeed, you couldn’t help the shiver of excitement that ran through you as he continued to push, his eyes dark with intent, nevermind the feeling of your hand pushing against him.
“Why did you stop, baby,” Seungcheol murmured. His voice was dark and deep, matching his eyes, and fuck, if you weren’t ready to lay on the couch and let him have his way.
“Our hot chocolate,” you replied, heart beating so quickly it was as if a hummingbird had somehow made its home within you, “it’s cold.”
“If it’s cold now, it’ll be cold when we’re done.”
You laughed, then. You threw out your arms and wrapped him in them, bringing Seungcheol flush against you. He went easily, and you pressed kiss after kiss to his face, hands messing with his hair.
“If I had known,” you said, still giggling as you pressed a final kiss underneath his chin, “before we started dating how absolute insatiable and ridiculous you are, I wouldn’t have believed it. You really had me fooled, Seungcheol.”
He chuckled, moving his arms around you. Seungcheol pressed you into him, just as you had him. “I swear, everytime you call me ‘Seungcheol’ I lose another year of my life. Next you’ll be telling me that’s my name in your phone.”
You went still against him.
Immediately Seungcheol pulled away from you. He looked at you, scrutinizing. Then, voice severe, “Unlock your phone for me.”
That set you off laughing again. Seungcheol laid you onto the couch before searching the area for your phone. He was presenting it to you in a matter of seconds, holding it out in front of you. “Unlock it.”
“You know the passcode,” you giggled.
“No I don’t --”
You shot him a meaningful look. Then his eyes widened, and he tapped in the date of your first date. He had a satisfied look on his face when your phone unlocked, a little smirk at the corner of his mouth. You watched as he glanced around your phone. You let out a soft sigh, extending your legs and settling them on either side of Seungcheol.
“What.” He blinked, then blinked again. “Seungcheol. You have my full first name? Not even a heart, not a flower or something cute, no -- there’s not even a smiley face!”
You were grinning. He huffed, shoulders rising. His brows furrowed and his lips went into a full pout. “Hey. Baby, this isn’t okay!”
“I didn’t realize it was just a crime,” you said.
He glanced over at you. As soon as Seungcheol saw you were grinning and realized the depth of your insincerity, he was sticking his hand into the pocket of his sweatpants and withdrew his phone.
“Look,” he said, flashing you his phone screen.
He had a picture of you from your first date as your contact photo. You were smiling, brightly and unabashedly. It was almost goofy looking, how happy you looked in that picture.
Your name in his phone was just as sweet, and you wondered if you needed to schedule a dentist appointment first thing Monday morning from the cavities that were surely forming.
My Baby 💖🔥
“Aw,” you said, “that’s so cute.”
His jaw dropped. “Cute -- yes, it is cute! Meanwhile you just have my full fucking government name --” “Cheolie, sweetheart, it isn’t that serious --”
He glared at you, before shoving your phone towards you. “Change it. Right now.”
“Doesn’t that ruin --”
“Don’t make me repeat what I said,” Seungcheol warned. He stood, and your eyes immediately fell to his ass. Not in a perverted way of course, but because it was art and it would be a dishonor to not observe and appreciate art.
“I’ll be back,” he said, “and when I return you better have something so fucking cute it’ll make me cry.”
Rolling your eyes, you went about your business. You already had a cute picture of him -- one taken when he had fallen asleep behind you -- as his profile picture, so you hurriedly began typing out a name for him.
It really wasn’t a big deal to you, and you knew it really wasn’t that big of a deal to Seungcheol either. He’s seen your contact list. Everyone had their first and last names in it, save for your family members. There were no emojis, no cute names.
Truly, you thought, Seungcheol should consider himself privileged.
When he returned, he had Wolfie in his arms. Her eyes were shut, and she was completely dwarfed by his bulk and the added fluff that his oversized hoodie gave him. She was perfectly content, however, and when he sat down next to you all Wolfie did was shift in his arms to further mold into his chest.
“So?”
You smiled, holding your phone against your chest. “I don’t know, sharing the contact name of your beloved is sort of a private thing.”
He shot you a glare.
Giggling, you held out your phone for him.
🌸💘 My Seungcheol 💘🌸
“Is it appropriately cute?”
He hummed, tilting his head. “What are the flowers?”
“Your lips,” you said matter-of-factly. “Your lips remind me of pink blossoms.”
Shocked, Seungcheol flickered his eyes up to yours. His eyes, always rife with emotion, were round from the revelation. His lips -- his blossom pink lips -- parted, and like a magnet your eyes were on them.
“Those are some dangerous words, baby.”
You shrugged, settling back against the couch. “Too bad you have Wolfie on you.”
He looked down at the cat, eyes narrowed. You could practically hear him cussing her out. Then he sighed, settling one of his hands on her back. Wolfie arched into it, and in the silence you could hear her beginning to purr.
Seungcheol moved to rest against you, the two of you practically molding into one. You leaned against him, head on his shoulder, hand moving to join his in petting Wolfie. For a moment the two of you were quiet, enjoying one another, safe in the knowledge of the infatuation, adoration, yearning, the -- the love that the two of you shared, safe in the knowledge that it existed and thrived. Knowing that no matter the weight on the back, the other would be there to help brush off pebbles and destroy the rubble.
You moved your head, pressing a kiss against his shoulder. He hummed, and as you pulled back he swept down to press a sweet kiss to your lips.
“You know,” he said, after the two of you settled back in your spots. “I saw the prettiest flower today while walking through the store. I took a picture of it because it reminded me of you.”

(part of my seventeen first love series!)

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis - volunteering at the neighborhood coffee shop might've been the best decision you made.
pairing — scoups x gn!reader
genre/s — university au, student! scoups x student! reader, reader is volunteering at a coffee shop
w/c - 0.6k
ding ding!
the bells on your cafe door ring as you're taken out of your daydream. it's a quiet tuesday morning, the fall weather finally setting in making the outside scenery orange and yellow. it's been a while since you had a customer walk in but then again, it's only 7am.
normally you'd be at university right now but you volunteered to work at your neighborhood cafe for a while because the owner was pretty nice and hey you could use some extra cash. your classes don't start till 10 anyway.
you greet the man who walks through the door. he's tall, has black hair while reaches to his eyes and a good figure. he walks up to you
"any chance you got coffee here?"
"you're at the right place! it is a coffee shop"
"you'd assume that but I went to 2places before this one and they said they don't serve till 9"
he does a fake dramatic tear wipe off his cheek to show his sadness. it's cute. you take his order and he sits down at the table right next to the counter.
as you're making the coffee you see him take his laptop out and open some files. now you're well aware that looking into other people's computers is an invasion of privacy but hey, who's telling?
you see him open a syllabus page and it looks familiar. maybe a bit too familiar...
that's when it hits you, that's your syllabus from your class. the class you're about to start today.
you set the coffee down at his table and with a suddenly boldness ask
"any chance you go to svtct university? and take business?"
and that's how you ended up spending your morning talking to a random guy from your class who happened to walk into the neighborhood coffee shop. you looked at the clock, 9:01am.
"I should get going, it was nice meeting you y/n, I hope I see you around"
yeah. you'll definitely want to see him around too.

insecure (pt 2) choi sungcheol (18+)
cw: 18+, fem reader.
minors dni pls ty 🤗
“cheol…” you mumbled, not wanting to ruin date night, but not wanting to let go of this moment, “hm? want me to stop, pretty?” he pulled away searching your face for an answer, you thought about it for a second and then  shook your head no, that made a smile spread across his face.
sungcheol sat on the bed and pulled you into his lap, “so pretty, my pretty girl..” he mumbled while unzipping the back of your dress, you couldn’t help but tangle your fingers in his silky blonde hair, you practically mew at the pet names.
in time, sungcheol has you on your back against your plethora of pillows on your shared bed, you’re completely naked and he’s fully clothed, in his mind he’s enjoying this dynamic, he has the power and you don’t.
his eyes roam your body up and down, you feel so small under his gaze and try to use your hands to cover up, “why are you covering? hm? i wanna see” he said removing your hands locking them above your head.
“cheol…” you whine, “relax baby, you trust me right? i’ll let you go, but you can’t touch me, deal?” you knew this was a bad deal because you can’t help but touch him, he’s just so… him.
you nod at his deal, not realizing how hard it would be to keep your hands off of him, he smiles and kisses you, hands trailing down your body, stopping at your nipples to pinch and rub softly, you kept your hands at your side grabbing onto your bedsheets.
sungcheol’s hand reached your cunt, he used the pad of his fingers to lightly rub your nerves, you couldn’t help but lift your hips up into his touch, “my needy baby, i’ll take care of you hm? show you how much i love you, all of you.” he said kissing down your cheek to your neck, heat rose to your cheek, his words making you feel warm.
as he kisses down your body, he finally reaches your cunt, he spreads your legs and teases your clit with the tip of his tongue making you jolt, he knows you’re squeamish so he wraps his arms around your thighs to keep them in place and open, before you crush his skull accidentally, but realistically, he wouldn’t mind at all.
he’s using his experienced tongue, to lick, spit, and fuck you, you were over the moon, if anything. “c-cheol oh my god” you put your hand over your mouth to suppress your moans “come on, i wanna hear how much of a good job im doing, let me hear it.” he says picking his head up, his chin shining with your slick. you abide by his words and moan so loudly it came off pornographic almost, you were embarrassed.
sungcheol continues his abuse on your cunt until you can’t take it anymore, “gonna cum…” you mumble, loud enough for him to hear, “you can cum baby.” he says looking up at you smiling, and proceeds to lap at your clit, bringing you to your orgasm, you moan his name so loudly you think you might get noise complaints. he removes himself from where he was and sits on his knees while you lay, sweaty and tired, looking as pretty as ever.
“can i take a picture? i love how you look right now” he says pulling my his phone out his pocket, snapping a picture of you sweaty and fucked out. “you tired, princess?” he says caressing your face, you lean into his warm hand and nod, “aw, i’m not done with you though. you gonna hold out for me?” he asks sweetly,  you nod at him giving him the okay, how could you ever deny him?
he removed all of his clothes and pulled out his cock, his tip was a angry red color, maybe from being restrained for so long, you watched him stroke himself spreading the pre cum, the veins really prominent on it, making you only want him more. “cheol, want your cock so bad… so bad” you manage to make out, practically begging for it, reaching your hand out to caress his stomach and gently holding his cock and stroke it, he threw his head back, feeling so good when it was in your hands.
you held it and guided it in your hole, wincing at the stretch, “it’s okay pretty girl, you can take it right?” he cooed, you nodded with tears in your eyes, “good. such a good girl, taking daddy so good, with no complaints” he caresses your cheek wiping away a stray tear. once he was fully in, he waited a little for you to adjust and give him the okay. it was about a minute in, “you can move” you said giving him the okay to continue. he started out slow getting you adjusted and once the pain went away, it was all just pleasure.
“fuck.. feels so good” you moan out biting your bottom lip, trying to suppress the very, very loud moans, “god, pussy was made for me. hugs me so good” he grunts while thrusting into you, making your headboard slam into the wall, he leans down to look at where both your bodies connected, letting spit trickle from his mouth onto your clit making you jump a little.
after the relentless abuse on your cunt, you can feel yourself coming close to an edge, and sungcheols thrusts aren’t so strong anymore, meaning he’s close, “you gonna cum baby? cum on daddy’s cock.” he taunts, his thumb rubbing circles on your clit and your hands grabbing onto his biceps, you’re mind and body feel like it was all static, cumming so hard on his cock you think you probably squirted. you then feel warm inside, he came inside of you.
“i didn’t use a condom…” he sheepishly says, “it’s okay, we’ll deal with it tomorrow” you say out of breath, he stands up and heads to the bathroom and brings back a warm cloth, cleaning up your area, “thank you” you mumble, “you have to pee or anything?” he says checking on you, you shake your head no, making hands for him to come, his heart swells seeing you like this, begging for him, he just couldn’t resist.
he got in bed with you and pulled the covers over the both of you, he has his arms securely wrapped around you, “you did so good for me, you were amazing” he showered you in compliments and praises, “you were so good, cheol, thank you for making me feel good” you say snuggling into his neck.

when you met choi seungcheol you thought you found the perfect man, even though it started out as something casual, a one night stand soon turned into something far more serious.
you spent yet another evening at a fancy party your company organised for their business partners, even though you hated them. the only positive thing besides the free food was that most of your beloved coworkers were there, so you decided to join them for a few drinks anyways.
it was well into the night already when you arrived at the dance floor alone; your coworers weren’t exactly the dancing type and the only person who you knew would join you was nowhere to be seen. you made your way to the crowd of dancing people, most of them drunk by that time, and started rocking your body to the beat. there was a sudden change in the rhythm, a slower song started playing. everybody slowed down and just enjoyed the music, swaying from side to side with their partners. you decided to walk to the bar to wait for a song which contains a more dynamic rhythm.
you had just begun walking back to the room most employees stayed at from the bar after dancing a bit when you bumped into someone, your feet losing its balance; you immediately tripped and waited for the impact of the fall. but it never came. you slowly opened your eyes and there he was: a tall man looking down at you with a worried expression on his face. “are you alright? did you hurt yourself?” he asked, a puzzled expression on his face. you stared at him. his eyes were big and round, a pleasant hazel colour. his dark hair messy, some strands of his bangs hanging in front of his eye. his red shirt loosely hanging on him, the first 2 buttons freely dangling open, showing his neck a little, his black jeans making his appearance a bit less formal. “yes thank you.” you freed yourself from his hold as you stood up. “i am a bit clumsy when i’m tired.” you smiled softly. he let out a laugh. “i can see that.” he paused for a moment “may i have this dance with you?” he asked suddenly, eyes fixated on you, wanting to see if you would say yes. “if you insist.” you held out your hand for him and he took it. he took the lead and rocked your bodies slowly as you quietly sang the lyrics of the song. his touch was so gentle, like he was afraid of breaking you as if you were made of porcelain; you felt the world around you slow down as he looked into your eyes, his gaze radiating so much love and care. as the song ended you stayed there for a minute, hands in his, not caring about anything, only him. "thank you for catching me earlier, i really-" you were caught off guard, as his lips slammed onto yours. the suddenness of his action surprised you for a minute, but you didn't hesitate to kiss back, eyes fluttering shut, a feeling you hadn’t felt in so long coming to the surface again; attraction. you went on making out for quite a long time, lips moving in sync like they were made for each other. eventually you had to split due to the lack of air in your lungs and everything went fuzzy in your memories.
you opened your eyes, but only found empty space in front of you. you soon came to your senses and realized that you were not on the dance floor. "ah you are awake. how was your little beauty sleep?" you saw one of your work friends, jeonghan sitting next to you on the couch of the room you had previously hung out in with your other coworkers before stepping outain hall of the event. "hold up...how did i end up in here? i was just dancing with that man a minute ago..." you stared at him in confusion trying to recall the memories from earlier. were you just imagining this whole thing due to being drunk?
"well i don’t know what boy you are talking about, but after you left to dance you were gone for a pretty long time, so i went to check up on you. that's when i found you sleeping at the bar's table." he continued "i took you back here so you could sleep without that fucking loud music blasting in your ears. you clearly needed it, i guess you haven’t been taking proper care of yourself, again." he explained. you remembered you getting off the dance floor to wait for another song, looks like you actually didn't make it back and fell asleep on the counter. but the dream was so intense, you could feel his feather-like touches on your skin, and also that kiss was too good to be fake. it all felt so real. "thank you for caring and not taking advantage of me jeonghan." you let out a relieved sigh "you are a really nice guy." he bowed playfully. "of course, no problem." you scanned the room, no sign of the others. "where are the others? and also, how long was i out?" he looked at his watch on his left wrist. "not long, i brought you back here like 20 minutes ago. oh, and the boys are currently cleaning up the place. people started leaving because they got tired or too drunk and we don't wanna stay up till dawn doing the cleaning so we are taking care of that right now. the boss is actually quite satisfied, we made good deals." you stood up. “do you need help with the cleaning or have you got it covered?” you asked sleepily while looking into the eyes of your friend. “nah we are good, you should really go, if i’m being honest you look like you have been ran over.” jeonghan chuckled as you dragged your feet out of the room.
it was a chilly night; when you stepped out of the building the wind blew coldly, making you shiver. you were ready to head home from the party, having had one too many drinks, head starting to hurt. while skipping along the quiet and dark street you realised that it had started raining, however you didn’t have an umbrella with you; to solve this issue you put your hands and purse above your head to keep it from getting wet. upon stopping by a red light at the crosswalk suddenly a figure of a tall man stepped next to you; he must’ve been in his early twenties, you thought judging by his face which seemed to be spotless and so sculpted like it was a statue. it even looked kind of familiar from the side. “do i know you?” you asked without any sense of shame or without thinking first, not looking directly at him. while your question remained unanswered from the corner of your eye you saw him extend his arm, in it a big black coat. “here, take this. don’t get sick.” he said slowly, accentuating every word of the sentence. you looked up at him, not knowing why would a stranger offer another stranger their jacket without any context. “you don’t even know me, do you really not mind? what do you want for it in exchange? i’m not retarded you know.” you prodded, wanting answers regarding the reasoning for his actions. he shook his head, his black locks jingling like shiny ornaments on a christmas tree. “do i really need a reason to be nice?” he smirked. “it is raining pretty heavily and you don’t have a coat with you. you should bring one next time, never know when the weather changes.” you hesitantly accepted the piece of clothing, secretly being kind of thankful for the heavens for sending this man your way since you were indeed getting ridiculously cold. “and besides, a pretty little thing like you shouldn’t wonder around in this beautiful dress at night wihtout being properly covered up, there are many dangerous people waiting to hunt down women like you, you know.” the mysterious man said in a stern voice, which indicated that he really meant what he said and it was not just an inappropriate comment. you raised a brow at this, finally looking in his direction, searching for his chocolate orbs. “do you think i cannot defend myself?” you asked boldly while leaning closer to him from the side to catch a glimpse of his face; you needed to confess that you were intrigued by his aura, curious as of where the encounter would lead. “well i cannot state anything about you for sure yet” he paused for a moment, looking slowly up and down at you “but i would actually love to get to know you to judge it for myself.” he said and turned to face you for mere seconds, then walked away.
after seeing the light from the street lamps shine on his features it hit you; he was the guy who kissed you at the party. so it wasn’t a dream, huh? “wait!” you shouted after him, seeing his form slowly turn around. he looked at you with a raised eyebrow, expecting you to say something. “you were at the party, weren’t you? you caught then kissed me. why did you do it? and most importantly, who are you exactly?” he grinned, knowing you discovered how you knew him. “bingo, 100 points for you pretty girl, you figured me out. i was waiting for you to remember, if you did.” he was now looking right into your eyes, not breaking eye contact. “i do. so explain: how and why did you disappear after randomly kissing me?” you had a questioning look on your face, but held out against his gaze. “what can i say, i am a man of many talents. but that shall be my secret. you wouldn’t want a magician to reveal their tricks, would you?” he giggled. “do you do this to every girl at business parties?” you followed up. “nope, just the prettiest ones, darling.” the honey and sweetness laced into his voice made you quiver with excitement. “interesting.” you faked amusement, continuing. “what were you doing at this event? should i have to know you from somewhere?” you pressed further since he wasn’t of help in untangling his character. “i have a friend in the company, yoon jeonghan, and i had some money to invest into something new.” he replied causally, putting his hands in his pockets. there was no doubt in him hiding a mischievous smirk behind the emotionless reply, entertained by the fact that you knew nothing about him. “what fantastic connections you have there, mr.” you paused “what is your name?” he leanen down, eyes at the same height as yours. “why don’t you come to my place and find out?” his grin was still there on that handsome face; you thought it through for a minute. you were bored anyways, what could’ve gone wrong? he even knew jeonghan. there was no harm in spicing up your life a bit by spending a night with a very good looking man, so you hurried up to his side, and followed his lead.
however, the sweet start of your perfect relationship was sadly too good to be true.
present time
time froze for a moment; you saw him in the office through the window, in between his legs a pretty blonde; he kissed all over her neck, going further and further down, unbuttoning her shirt. you were disgusted, utterly in disbelief; he promised he would change after catching him almost kissing another girl at a party.
“you almost kissed her you asshole!” you cried after exiting the building where you had caught seungcheol at a company dinner getting wasted and cheating. you had many problems in the past month, he was always mad at someone or something, his business taking up all of his free time, all while you tried to discuss every inconvenience with him, which was definitely not an easy thing since he was an exceptionally stubborn man. “i didn’t! she crawled into my lap and before i could push her off you came in!” he tried to defend himself, some of your friends who went out to smoke watching the scene unfold, ready to step in as they saw you were fuming with anger. “i left you for ten fucking minutes, seungcheol! ten minutes and you couldn’t keep your hands to yourself! this is ridiculous. i know we have been arguing a lot recently and that you have been frustrated with many things, but seriously you think this is the solution? cheating on your girlfriend?” your tears stopped by this time, the only tell tale sign of your cries being the wetness on your cheeks. “i am gonna say this one more time; i did not cheat on you. why would i do that? you know very well how much i love you, i always give you everything you want. the moment you say it; it is all yours, every time. what more can i offer to you, hmm? is my love not enough for you?” he pleaded, regret written all over his face. he moved towards you to plant a kiss on your forehead and cheeks, pulling you into his chest. your heart melted at the action; it was true, he was treating you like his princess all the time without fail. you hoped he was right, and didn’t plan on breaking your heart. “let me make it up to you pretty girl.” he said while kissing your neck, navigating the chaos of limbs you were into the bathroom. “i will give you all my love.” he grinded against you, already in one of the stalls. “gonna make you see how much i care about you.” he kissed all over your body hungrily, putting your legs on his shoulders. “cheol-“ you gasped loudly when he touched you. “be quiet, pretty girl. don’t want to get caught now, do we?”
present time
but he didn’t change one bit. hell, he didn’t even care to close the blinds while he cheated on you with your coworker, making sure the whole building knew what he was about to do during the night. your blood boiled at the realisation; you gave him so many chances, you let him manipulate you into coming back to him after doing something awfully suspicious every single time, yet he still did it again. oh, but you weren’t gonna let this slide this time. you were gonna take revenge on him for what a fuckin’ prick he was; he was in for a good lesson. starting with the text you sent him a moment after the aftershocks of the scene you witnessed went away.
“I TOLD YOU I WAS DRUNK! what can’t you understand?” he groaned, head probably still fuzzy from all the alcohol he had consumed earlier. “give me a chance baby, you know how much i love you.” he changed his behaviour, suddenly looking nervous, frustrated even, that you wanted to end things with him. you stepped closer, looking him right in the eye. “you are full of shit choi seungcheol. i don’t need your excuses. this is so over. i gave you everything you motherfucker!” you screamed as you slapped him out of rage. “i am disgusted by you, i don’t even know how the fuck i ended up with you!” he turned to you again and raised a brow at this, his hands linked together in front of his chest. “you are talking as if you didn’t do the same thing months ago!” that was the point where you had enough. yes, you too hooked up with people, but that was during a time when your relationship was at its lowest, both of you agreeing on taking a break from the other as you saw how this was not healthy at all. “we were broken up at that time and you know it! don’t you dare compare yourself to me, we are nothing alike, you liar.” you stormed off, shutting the door behind you, leaving him in your shared apartment, already knowing your next move on how to make him regret even meeting you.
now here’s the thing; you weren’t an evil bitch by any means; you were always on your best behaviour in all situations, you could even dare say that you were a people pleaser, but you couldn’t take your pride being scarred like this, again, that was way out of line for you.
using revenge as a coping mechanism was very much like you though, so you acted quickly, not leaving time for second-guessing yourself or for regret. “hi hannie, what are you doing?” you started the conversation after he picked up the phone you had already called multiple times; it was very late in the day, your time being spent on trying to get a hold of your boyfriend’s best friend. “ah sorry you couldn’t reach me, i was in a meeting. what’s up? do you need something?” his voice echoed from the other end of the line, confusion evident in it. “i was wondering if you would want to come to the bar my friend invited to with me…you know how cheol gets, he doesn’t have time for anything nowadays and going alone would be so embarrassing.” you chirped in a sweet tone, trying to sound as innocent and vulnerable as you could, hoping he would buy your story of being sad over how busy your boyfriend was. “uh, sure i guess? when is it?” he was hesitant, but you knew he could be convinced very easily.
everyone could see how he looked at you when you all hung out together with cheol’s other friends, being especially distant after you announced your relationship with his bestie after the night of the company party.
“don’t you think this is a fast pace, hmm?” jeonghan questioned after you told him about your little night with cheol, as well as the fact that he was indeed your mysterious kisser from the event. “don’t get me wrong, he is my best friend, you are mine too, i am happy for the two of you, but he is not always the man he seems to be. i don’t think you have a clear picture of what you are getting yourself into.” he said firmly, gaze fixated on your form in front of him. “don’t worry about it hannie, i am a big girl, i can handle it. besides, i am not doubting your words, but he really is an angel, so i don’t see the problem here.” you smiled widely while he sighed, a bit disappointed, but respecting your decision. “i am just worried ‘bout you.” he touched your arm slightly, his fingertips lingering near yours, almost as if he was trying to lace them together, still, stopping himself from doing so, the intimate action now only being seungcheol’s privilage. “but okay. let’s celebrate you not being single anymore then!” he grinned, offering you a warm smile after. you hugged him, his grip tight around your waist, like he gave his everything into that one hug, knowing that would be the last one he could freely give you, without worrying about a specific someone interrupting.
he was practically drooling over you every single time, his crush being very obvious to the naked unknowing eye aswell.
present time
“tomorrow. i will text you the details later, don’t worry. thank you for making time for me.” you topped the previous act with a much lighter response, knowing he loved to hear when people were thankful to him, especially since it was you. “of course, you know you are my favourite, but don’t tell dino! he still hasn’t gotten over that time when i chose your help for that project i had!” he chuckled and you let your giggles out aswell. “…one more thing hannie…please don’t tell this to cheol, he has been extra stressed with work, don’t wanna bother him y’know.” you pleaded, wanting to keep your little secret, being sure about hannie not knowing that the two of you broke up because he cheated, since he would’ve called you if he knew, questioning what exactly had happened. “sure, i’ve got you don’t worry. see you tomorrow then.”
the next day jeonghan picked you up and drove you to where the bar was, helping you when stepping out from the expensive four wheeled vehicle.
“you look gorgeous.” he said with a shy smirk, shamelessly checking you out. “thanks. you don’t look bad yourself, yoon.” you lead him to the dancefloor t meet your friends, soon enjoying yourselves like you had never before, and letting loose after a full day of hard exhausting work.
“but what about seungcheol? i cannot do this to him, he is my best friend.” he asked, out of air. “don’t worry ‘bout it, i’ve left him.” you replied between kisses. “screwed a whore in the office.” you panted. your bodies were molded into each other’s, the music getting washed away by the sound of jeonghan’s heartbeat, your lips on his desperately trying to get a taste of him. “focus on only me, hannie.” you mewled into his neck. it was so easy to manipulate men; you were honestly so surprised at his antics of giving up his friendship so easily just to have you.
“you don’t even know how much i had wanted you all this time. since i laid eyes on you baby.” he sighed, your hand roaming around his body, finding his defined chest to stable yourself after the dizzying makeout session you had. “he wanted to fuck with me after hearing about you. watching him taint your innocent being, watching him kiss you, hug you, taste you. it was a nightmare. i wished he didn’t jump onto you before i had the courage.” he grabbed your chin and made you look up at him; the sparkles he always had in his eyes were long gone, lust and hunger replacing them. “i have always wanted to corrupt your little mind, sweetheart.” his voice was an octave lower, your mouth wide open; you never saw this side of him. “such a cutie i have here, don’t i?” he licked his lips. “…all for me, right?” you gripped his bicep to steady yourself; he made you sit on his lap, a chair behind him already pulled aside for you to continue your dance on him. “he didn’t deserve you.” he moaned into yet another heated kiss, trying to get some friction from your bodies pressed close. “what do you think, shall we take this to the bedroom, hmm, pretty boy?” you whispered into his ear while straddling his thighs, feeling him press up against you even more if it was possible. a moment later you heard a far too familiar voice.
“what the fuck?” seungcheol yelled, marching towards the two of you entangled together on jeonghan’s lap. you quickly got up, leaving jeonghan stunned, giving him one last kiss on the neck. “sorry pretty boy, gotta go.” you mumbled, running out of the room, right outside into the darkness of the night.
seungcheol caught you in the parking lot of the building, his steps heavy and scary in the dark. “what the fuck is wrong with you seungcheol?” you shouted at him, trying to free your arm from his hold. “what did you think when you gave a lap dance to jeonghan, hm? are you really this big of a slut? going behind my back and almost screwing my best friend in the middle of the dance floor! huh?” he yelled at you, the grip on your arm getting tighter and tighter. “what in the world are you saying? you are insane i swear! how dare you question what i do and demand an explanation? we are not together anymore, i can do whatever the fuck i want.” you spat, venom dripping from your words. you always knew he was a possessive man, but this? you did not expect him to question you about your behaviour. “no the fuck you can’t! you are mine, understood? noone else’s but mine.” he said while taking you into his embrace forcefully and leaving open mouthed kisses on your neck, pulling a gasp out of you. “i told you that we are done!” you said between breaths, succesfully making your way out of his hold for the most part, only his hand still being lanced with yours. “if you were this big of an asshole that is your problem, not mine, i am not your theraphist to fix your fucked up head.” you said while looking at him, taking a deep breath before ripping your hand out of his, turning around and leaving him in the middle of the parking lot. you looked back at him, smirking slightly upon letting your mouth fall open, already imagining the look on his face when he hears what you were gonna say.
“oh, and don’t worry. jeonghan fucks me better than you ever did.” of course you lied; you didn’t actually fuck jeonghan (though it was very tempting like ten minutes before), but it was so worth it. you could see the veins popping on his neck, his eyes darkening after the sentence left your mouth; you could finally get back at him, let him feel the pain you felt all those times he fucked you over during the lst 2 years. he was quick to spring into action; he pinned you down on the nearest car’s hood, holding your wrists with one hand only. “i dare you, say that again.” he whispered against your lips, his body leaning dangerously close to yours. “jeonghan fucks better than you.” you simply said, waiting for his next move. he grabbed your chin and kissed you roughly, all the feelings of you missing him coming up to the surface again.
you had fun with jeonghan of course, but he was so gentle and caring with you when things got heated; he worshipped you, which was so unusual, so strange. you craved the touch of cheol, rough in bed as always. you missed how he could manhandle your body, his kisses and hickeys, you missed this filthy side of him no matter how hurt you were by him cheating. you let him unzip your jeans, hand going very low on your thighs, already knowing what he wanted from you. “and you say i’m the psycho. darling, you are just as fucked in the head as i am. trying to fuck jeonghan the moment i don’t give you enough attention, hmm pretty girl? guess we aren’t that different after all.” he laughed in your face. “you like this; you like playing mind games. it makes you excited. so easy to make you sway. just one touch and here i have you drooling over me.” he smirked. deep down you knew he was right. you came running back to him the first time, because you missed the high, the thrilled he gave you. then why are you trying to get rid of him now? “why are you you doing this to me?” you cried with a whine, wanting answers to questions you shouldn’t be asking in the first place; you already knew why. he loved mind games just as much as you did; it made him feel alive. “i am not doing anything, love. you are the one who isn’t capable of believing that we are the perfect pair. you need me.” he spat back in a frenzy, busy with trying to get back to your lips. “seungcheol this cannot work. we keep hurting each other, i am so tired.” you sobbed harder, realising that you reached a point where the rush wasn’t worth it anymore. “if we hurt each other why does it hurt so good then?” he mumbled against you, putting his forehead together with yours. “we will be alright. we have to be alright. we always make it work.” he traced lines along your cheeks with his big hands, any type of roughness disappearing in the blink of an eye after seeng your frightened, fatigued face. “i wish i never met you, choi seungcheol.” your last words before passing out right there and then from the alhocol and stress made his heart hurt a bit; he sometimes wondered how your life would be different if you hadn’t met him. he knew he was crazy and selfish, he knew the things he did had been destroying you from the inside, but he couldn’t stop no matter how hard he tried being the best version of himself for you, to be someone you would be proud to call your boyfriend; he was simply not made to have stable relationships. it had always been just messy hookups for him, until he met you; that is when he really made an effort for the first time since he was born to keep someone in his life, however it seemed like he lost the battle with his true nature.
he caught your form in his arms just in time, placing you down on the ground, trying to wake you up.
you arose with a start in seconds, throat and lungs burning for a few seconds before registering where you were. “get the fuck away from me, now!”you hysterically cried out when you saw cheol’s worried face above you, looking at you like he had seen ghost. “are you okay? you just blacked out. how much did you drink?” he said gently while he made sure you had no bruises, his previous demeanour completely changing. this was exactly why you couldn’t break up with him before. every time he acted like a psycho or was rough with you his behaviour could easily change into such a caring little mischievous one you loved so much, the one you met him with. why did this man have to have this duality? you didn’t know. why did things between the two of you change that he wanted to seek comfort from other women? you didn’t know. but it surely made your heart heavy when he cared so much about you, because you knew he did; since you got together he gave you everything you could wish for, fancy clothes, cute dates, everything was so perfect until it wasn’t. “leave me alone. i told you i don’t want to see you.” you stood up and started walking back to the bar, soon realising that he had never left your side, the steps of his expensive designer shoes loudly echoing on the grey asphalt. “at least let me take you home, i promise i won’t try anything this time.” he said after making you halt your movements by shielding your view with his tall figure. you huffed and puffed, but decided to go with him since you were not feeling so great to continue the hookup with hannie anyways, plus you knew he would never leave until you agreed, he was like that; a very determined man, not really giving up until he got what he wanted.
“we need to talk.” he stated after exiting the car in front of the apartment complex. your drive was spent in silence, both of you lost in your own thoughts. after pressing the buttons and making your way to the door of the elevator you whipped your head away from him. “i have nothing to talk about with you. you made a mistake not so long ago, i forgave you, because i thought it was a one time thing. then i really have to catch you with that blonde bitch you fucked for god knows how long! do you really think we have anything to talk about?” you glared at him through the mirror in the elevator, now fully sobered up and ready to strangle him. “i said i was sorry! i swear it won’t happen again babygirl. i cannot understand what got into me!” he pouted. “that you cannot stay loyal because you think i am some kind of old toy you cannot lose since to attained it and that you thought you would be smart enough to get away with keeping whores, that’s what got into you, you fucker!” you were really at your limit, screaming. you didn’t care how many people would hear it, you were tired both physically and emotionally. you aggressively closed the door of your apartment behind you, shutting him out. “please, i am begging you.” seungcheol tried from the other side, banging his hand on the door. you ignored him and slid down to the floor, breaking out in loud cries and sobs; it was your breaking point. you loved him so much it was so hard to let go of him, however you couldn’t keep this up; he had hurt you too much to regain your trust. “tell me you love me again. please, come back to me again.” you could make out his soft cries on the other side of the wall. “i cannot destroy myself anymore cheol. we keep having problems that we cannot solve, no matter what we do. these fucking mind games we are getting into every week, every day even, they are making me miserable. making you miserable. please just leave.” your voice sounded weaker than intended, the fighting making you exhausted. “i understand. i am sorry for hurting you.” you were crying harder now; you sensed it in his voice, how he finally gave up in trying to convince you to take him back; you could finally rest, not having to g over these never ending circles with him anymore. “goodbye, my love.” he whispered through the wooden frame just loud enough for you to hear, then his steps slowly died down indicating that he left the hallway. he left. your heart broke into millions of pieces, however you knew you did it for the best; had to do this, let him go.
you didn’t know how you were gonna face any of your mutual friends. you didn’t know how you were gonna explain to jeonghan the next day that you used him to try to forget seungcheol, to try to get over him in one night, to try to replace him and the bitterness he left in your heart in one night. you didn’t know how you could build yourself up again, how you could trust another man after him, how you could find someone better than him.
you really wished you hadn’t met him. but it didn’t matter now. it was all over. the mind games you have been playing with him were finally over.

Energy Hugs
Tumblr media
Main Masterlist | S.Coups Masterlist Paring: S.Coups x Reader Warning: Mentions of Food Genre: Fluff Summary: It's been a long day for your hardworking boyfriend and he gets clingy when he is exhausted.
Tumblr media
It was another day as the sunset and the moon rises. I was lucky today yet I cannot say the same for my boyfriend who sent me a signal of distress through text today.
Tumblr media
I was a bit worried yet it was not out of the ordinary, after all the world tour is coming soon. I knew he would typically skip meals before, but now I cook and make sure to heat it up once he gets back.
I ate dinner on my own and make sure to prepare to reheat a meal that would go cold. Some days I fall asleep while others I might not cause like today I had to recheck for an important meeting tomorrow.
It was one of those nights where the thoughts won’t leave until every detail is checked and my body would give up. No matter how many times a presentation is checked there could be something I missed and that is normal thus my nightly routine of checking starts.
I turned on the speakers with some soft music to calm my thoughts and checked my work as the room was dim with the light of my laptop shining the material I have grown bored of looking for the past few weeks. The night went on and my eyes were giving up slowly, I cleaned up the stuff I need for tomorrow and got back to the living room to settle, that was until the front door opened.
He stepped in as I approached him, he removed his shoes slowly and faced me as I opened my arms. I knew that meant he had a tough day. Without hesitation, I made my way to him and wrapped my arms around him, giving him a warm hug. His arms are around my waist as I rub his back.
I let go to see the dark circles and the exhausted state he was in.
“You go change and I will heat up your dinner.” I smiled as I held his face and he nodded.
He retreated to his room and I went to the kitchen to heat up the food, as I put it in the microwave I got the table ready along with a glass of water. I got back in front of the microwave waiting for the food. Then I felt his arms around me.
“Hey” he said as he buried his head into my neck.
“Hey, food should be ready soon. Go sit and drink some water first.” I said turning to face him.
“Energy hugs first.” he simply said hugging closer.
“Ok love, if that is what you want.” I smiled holding him a little longer.

Magic or Not Masterlist | Next
Synopsis: when running from his supposed birthday party, Seungcheol finds a few new friends and you at a magical tavern.
Pairing: Choi Seung-Cheol x fem!reader Word Count: 3.1k words
Tumblr media
"Congratulations on your 24th birthday, crown prince."
All nobles walked down the hall until they reached him, all of them repeating the same message that he had already heard a thousand of times. After their message, they were quick to introduce themselves before the next person was called forward.
Seungcheol was done with it, his head was already perched on his hand as he tried to keep his eyes open. By now he knew that this wasn't an ordinary birthday celebration, but rather a way for him to find a wife. Thousands of nobles came to the kingdom, all to introduce their daughters and some even their sons. They all wanted the same thing, the crown and a chance to rule over a whole kingdom.
"Bored?" A voice sounded in his head, one that Seungcheol could easily recognize as Jeonghan's. So he let his eyes wander until he found the magician, standing in the back of the giant hall.
The longhaired blond stood there proudly, dressed in a simple white shirt and pants and yet he still shone brightly like an angel to others. The healer, Joshua, stood beside him and was dressed the very same. If Seungcheol didn't know any better, he'd think that they were just too lazy to dress themselves. That wasn't the case, however, as Seungcheol could see the mischief glimmering in their eyes. He could only smile to himself.
"Please excuse me for awhile." Seungcheol excused himself, bowing his head to his parents before descending down the stairs. Once he reached the bottom, he took large strides to the mischievous pair until he was close enough. Then they exited together and Seungcheol could only imagine the looks on his parents faces when they realized what he was doing.
"Hyung!" Another voice exclaimed and there came Lee Seokmin, dressed in his usual stable clothes and dragging an angry Lee Jihoon behind him. Seokmin was smiling brightly from ear to ear, Jihoon was not.
"Mingyu and Wonwoo are already outside, let's go!" Seokmin exclaimed happily and Seungcheol only smiled at the younger before following his steps.
"Why did I have to be here again?" "Oh, cheer up Jihoonie! It's Cheolie's birthday, we can't leave him with those stuck-ups." Jeonghan exclaimed, but Jihoon only grumbled on in response. Seungcheol smiled again before focusing on not tripping over his own feet, squinting to see anything in the dimly lit halls. Once outside, he spotted Mingyu and Wonwoo along with Vernon. All dressed in the same outfit, a dark shirt and brown pants. Clearly Seungcheol was missing an important dress code at this point.
The walk to town didn't take long and the sights of the forest and its creatures fascinated Seungcheol enough to make him stumble a couple of times. Not a single sight could top that of nature itself, Seungcheol thought. Unless you counted dragons, but those hadn't been spotted in the kingdom for years and thus Seungcheol had never actually met one.
"It's here!" Seokmin suddenly exclaimed and everyone looked at the younger in confusion, only Vernon seemed to agree. Joshua was the first to step forward, wrapping his arm around Seokmin's neck and pulling him down in a headlock.
"We're in the middle of nowhere!" He sneered softly, but Seokmin was quick to disagree as he pointed somewhere.
"Are you here for the Hippogriff Tavern?" "Seungkwan!" Seokmin called out happily to the stranger and everyone turned to look.
Before them stood a man and although it was dark, they could all quickly acknowledge the man as a mermaid or siren. His eyes had a serenity shine and his hair was a bright blue color that was not natural in any human way, almost like it glowed in the dark. If those weren't enough, the man wore shells and pearls like chains around his waist that would make most nobles see green of envy. Last but not least, the man's gills were slightly visible although they were clearly closed at the moment.
"Hello!" He chirped to the rest of the group before walking past them, revealing his sharp canines as he smiled. He walked further in the forest before disappearing in a mist and stunning the group he left behind.
"Oh, magic shield!" Jeonghan was quickly interested and Seungcheol was sure that Jihoon was also fascinated as he stepped closer with and inspective gaze. When they crossed the barrier, they too disappeared from view. Naturally, everyone else followed.
Now there was a tavern, lights shining through the tinted windows and lights floating around and flowers blooming beautifully. Seungcheol only smiled before he followed the rest inside.
Music echoed through the tavern, a happy tune that accompanied the loud chattering. The people inside all seemed unique, carrying their obvious creature features with pride.
"Gremlin!" A loud voice yelled above the chatter and a pixie seemed to appear out of nowhere, throwing himself on Jihoon.
The pixie wore a bright smile, eyes squinted and nose scrunched up. His hair was a light brown, curls bouncing and thus revealing his pointy ears that were covered with earrings and cuffs. His ears were the only indication of him being a pixie, otherwise he would definitely be seen as a human.
Jihoon started to squirm around in the pixie's grip, curses in his own language were clear to everyone around as he grumbled 'I'm not a gremlin, I'm an alchemist!'. The pixie didn't seem to care much.
Seokmin had moved to a table, a couple of people sat there and Seungcheol was astounded. One was Seungkwan and the other three were unknown.
One had bright red hair, two long strands at the front while the rest was cut shorter to the nape. The hair looked curly as well and two golden horns were poking out of the curls, revealing him to be a dragon as Seungcheol suspected. The man's green eyes were quick to move his way before turning back to the cup in front of him, which seemed to be some kind of tea.
Next to the dragon man sat a man with blond hair that was carrying some braids and hair jewels, pointy ears sticking out. An elf.
Last, but not least, was you. You were sitting next to Seungkwan, dressed in a white dress with a brown corset. Flowers were weaved into your hair, small jewels handing from your braids and the area around you was covered in moss. You were a dryad.
Seokmin pulled him along, smiling brightly as he greeted everyone. The dragon was called Minghao, the elf was Junhui and you were named (y/n). When Seokmin and Seungcheol reached the table properly, your face was finally shown to Seungcheol and he felt his heart skip a beat when his eyes connected to your golden ones.
"Hello! You can sit next to me if you want." You gave a bright smile to him and he returned it, sitting beside you. It was then that Seungcheol could smell the flowers that surrounded you, somehow it felt relaxing.
Soon enough, the table was filled with more people. The pixie, that was still bothering Jihoon to some extent, was called Soonyoung or Hoshi and he apparently knew Jihoon since birth. It sounded logical, but everyone seemed to wonder how the elder one was still alive.
"Where's Chan?" Jihoon was the first to talk and Seungcheol couldn't help but flinch when he heard a loud giggle above him. Looking up, he spotted a young boy on the ceiling. His legs were wrapped around the support beam, smiling brightly at the people beneath him.
Bright wings erupted from his back and it was then that Seungcheol noticed the pointier ears along with, what seemed to be, some kind of pollen that fluttered down from the person. A fairy and seemingly a mischievous one.
"Why is everyone here?" The boy, Seungcheol assumed that his name was Chan like Jihoon said, asked and Seokmin happily replied that it was Seungcheol's birthday.
"It's your birthday? Why didn't you say so!" You exclaimed suddenly as you rushed out of your seat before returning with a cupcake that held a single candle. Silence suddenly filled the whole tavern, all eyes turned to your table and more importantly to the dryad that held the cupcake.
Awkwardly, Seungcheol blew out the candle and little fireworks erupted from the cupcake.
"You made a wish, right?" Chan asked and with a glare of Jeonghan, Seungcheol only nodded at the smiling teen. Chan only smiled brighter before letting himself drop down on the table, which quickly earned a loud his from Minghao as he spilled the cup that stood on the table.
The chatter started up again, almost like nothing had happened before. You had sat down again and handed the cupcake to Seungcheol with another smile.
Suddenly, Seungcheol had a lot more friends than he had an hour ago.
Tumblr media
From then on, at least one day a week he would come to the tavern. He would often just sit in the corner, waiting for you to finish your job at the tavern. You then joined him and talked, always having something new and interesting to tell him.
Once you told him about Minghao accidently setting Junhui on fire after the older annoyed him a bit too much, or how Chan kept pestering Mingyu or Seungkwan with his notorious pranks that were often planned with Soonyoung. Although the stories were interesting to hear, Seungcheol didn't come to the tavern weekly for them. Rather he came for you, to stare at you and listen to your sweet voice. There was something about you that mad him want to come back, from jeonghan's point of view it was definitely a crush but Seungcheol didn't agree with that statement.
Maybe it was just that he wasn't treated like he was only a prince and not an actual person.
Whatever it was, he knew for sure that he didn't mind the feeling. It didn't get in the way of his work and it made him somewhat more peaceful to think about you. So he didn't really think too much about it.
"Cheol?" Your voice interrupted his thoughts and he looked up at you, returning your smile with one of his own as you sat down opposite of him. Your hair was loose today and you wore a green dress, which was covered in pearls that Seungkwan probably gave you and Seungcheol could also notice the little acorns hanging in your hair. He had the same ones, Soonyoung had a habit of collecting things and handing them out to his friends as little trinkets and this week it was acorns. His mother had started growing suspicious when she found all trinkets in Seungcheol's room, some weirder than others, and he didn't know how to explain that a pixie gave those to him.
"I have an errand to run, would you like to join me?" You asked and Seungcheol nodded before standing up, maybe a bit too quickly. You didn't seem to notice it, only smiling as you grabbed a box before walking out with him.
"So, will you be going to the prince's party?" "What?" Seungcheol looked at you in confusion and you paused before pulling a paper from your pocket, almost dropping the box in the process. When he saw the paper, Seungcheol could only laugh.
Of course his parents planned a ball in his name, an engagement party at that. In bold letters was a mentioning of a search for the future queen, underneath a smaller mention that even "monsters" were invited. Sure, they didn't say monsters but Seungcheol knew his parents and their dislike for the magical.
"Jeonghan said that all of you were going and I don't think my friends would pass up on a party." You joked and Seungcheol could only give you a weak smile.
He hadn't told you, he hadn't told anyone. He believed that Seungkwan knew, because Vernon couldn't keep his mouth shut to the siren that he called his best friend.
"I might go, yes." He finally answered, although his heart felt heavy. He had to tell you, he had to do so now.
"Great, I'll see you there!" You didn't give him the chance as you suddenly bolted off with the box in your arms and giving him no chance to follow. He could only watch your figure disappear.
Tumblr media
The ball was here, but Seungcheol didn't want to go out into the hall. He felt like he'd suffocate, his clothes felt too tight and his lungs felt like they were filling with water. The crown that laid on his head felt like it was made with cement, pushing him down and yet he could not take it off. His parents were waiting for him inside and so was everyone else, but you would be there too.
"-cheol!" A voice yelled out to him, but the words sounded muffled like he was underwater and his sight had turned blurry. Jeonghan stood before him, a worried look on his face that would normally make Seungcheol laugh. Now he couldn't, his lack of air made it impossible to think straight and it was then that someone else's figure entered his vision. A hand laid on his back, one finger softly tapping his back in a rhythm. He was quick to try and follow said rhythm, pushing his breath in and out of his lungs at the right pace until he finally could see properly again.
"Now why on earth were you having a panic attack?" Jihoon's voice rang out from behind Seungcheol and he was quick to thank the younger as he got back up on his feet.
"Let's just go..." Seungcheol mumbled as he made his way to the giant doors. The others made their ways inside by a different door, waiting for Seungcheol to enter.
"Where's Cheol?" You asked Jihoon, who only stared ahead at the spot where the others stood. Jeonghan and Joshua stood by the throne, dressed both in white clothes that you were sure that were their official clothes, and Vernon stood a bit below by his fellow soldiers. When your question wasn't answered, you just sighed softly before waiting.
Then Seungcheol came out of the giant doors.
Dressed in his royal clothes,. A white shirt with a royal blue jacket on top of it, the jacket embroidered with golden details and little gems covered the bottom, and black pants that showed of his lean figure. And of course, the golden crown hidden behind the curls of his hair. He looked stunning.
"He's the crown prince..." Soonyoung was the first to speak out of all of you, his eyes trained on Seungcheol as the prince descended down the stairs with his eyes to the ground.
The ball began, but all of you remained in the same spot with a bit of shock.
"He definitely looks the part, no?" Seungkwan spoke up next, his arm wrapping around your shoulders as he stared at the prince with a smile. You were still staring as well, unaware of Seungkwan beside you as you tried to process everything.
"I'm in love with the crown prince..." The words were barely a whisper, yet your group had heard them all too well as they all turned to you in shock.
"You should go to her." Jeonghan spoke, nudging Seungcheol happily as he watched the scene before him. The group was surrounding you, all happily yapping away and Jeonghan could hear every single thing. Not that Seungcheol had to know that just yet, Jeonghan wanted a bit more chaos today.
Seungcheol nodded, making his way down to the dance floor. All girls had their eyes on him, all thinking the same thing. They needed to dance with the future king. Seungcheol didn't give them a chance as he strode your way and Junhui was the first to pull him closer to the group with a happy smile, leaving most girls disappointed.
"(Y/n)?" He talked to you first and the rest grew quiet, all watching the exchange with mischievous smiles. You looked at him before nodding, waiting for him to say what he wanted to. Seungcheol didn't say anything for a few seconds, taking in how beautiful you looked in your dress.
"Dance? I mean, would you like to dance? With me?" He asked, almost glaring at the others as he heard their stifled laughter. You, on the other hand, looked at him in shock before recovering and quickly agreeing. With that, Seungcheol took ahold of your hand in his before guiding you to the dance floor. The music changed just as you reached it, a slower but lively melody that both of you immediatley smiled at.
Seungcheol pulled you a bit closer, one hand on your waist while the other still held one of yours. Then he started to guide you to the dance, the music guiding him as the two of you danced across the dance floor. For some reason, you felt so happy that flowers started to grow in your hair and covering your dress. Seungcheol could only smile.
"You seem happy. You're even growing azaleas." He commented and you laughed softly, trying to not step on his feet as you laughed. You were unconsciously growing his birth flowers, which only meant one thing.
You were certainly in love with Seungcheol.
"You're in love with me?" Seungcheol's voice pulled your from your thoughts, making you realize that you said your last thoughts out loud. Your eyes widened, staring at Seungcheol as you tried to come up with an excuse. You didn't need to, however, as Seungcheol only smiled brightly in return before pulling you a bit closer. He leaned down until he reached your ear.
"I love you too." He whispered before leaning back up and continuing to dance to the music. Although still shocked, you followed his movements as you tried to process it everything. Only when the music stopped, you realized everything. With wide eyes, you pointed your finger at yourself in surprise.
"You like me?" You asked, a slight stutter in your voice and Seungcheol nodded at you with a smile.
"Kiss each other already!" Jeonghan's voice sounded in both your and Seungcheol's heads, making you both glare at him intensely as you made your way off of the dance floor.
"You're a couple now, right?" Seungkwan was the first to ask, both him and Seokmin looking at the two of you in excitement while the others just tried to suppress their laughter once more. Seungcheol kept quiet, almost like he was waiting for you to answer the question. So you agreed to it, smiling brightly as you watched Seungcheol's face go red.
"Don't you agree?" You asked him, giving him a sweet smile that only made his face go redder than before. His mouth opened before closing again, his eyes staring at the ground and you could only smile at how cute he looked at that moment.
"Yeah, I'd like that."

note : here’s part two ! crying over this so hard where’s my own cheol </3 | part one here <3
Tumblr media
you haven’t seen seungcheol since your impromptu lunch not-date disaster. even your students are starting to pick up one your downturned demeanor, sending you pitied looks and pouty frowns when you visibly deflate everytime someone who isn’t him knocks at your door.
soo-ah especially seems to be the most disheartened, quietly pattering up to your beanbag chair in the corner during nap time. she climbs into your lap without a word and you let her, gently brushing away strands of hair from her face as she settles against your chest.
“miss yn?” she mumbles after a few minutes of silence, little hand curled into your cardigan. it’ll be rumpled by the time everyone gets up, but you don’t have the heart to tell her to let go. “is mr. cheol not your friend anymore?”
your heart sinks at her dejection. you didn’t even know how to answer it without your heart wilting in sadness, so you take to playing with her hair to distract the sad thoughts from blooming.
“we’re still friends,” you answer, though you don’t sound convincing even to yourself. “mr. cheol has just… he’s been busy. you know he teaches his own class as well,”
“but he would always come and say hello! even in class!” you gently put a finger to your lips and glance at the other students, and soo-ah pouts but lowers her voice. “i miss him…”
something in your chest breaks. “me too, sweetheart.” your voice is a whisper as you hold her close, head resting atop hers. “me, too.”
nap time comes and goes, but the silent treatment remains firm.
you pass jeonghan in the halls a few times, running errands in between breaks, and you try your best to inquire about his closest friend without seeming too imposing. he just shrugs, aura of nonchalance off putting at front, but the look he sends you says otherwise.
“cheol’s stubborn,” he murmurs over the copy machine, a helping hand in your towers of worksheets needed in the next thirty minutes. “it’s not the first time i’ve had to pull his head out of his ass.”
you frown slightly, nudging his shoulder, and jeonghan snorts.
“that’s cute. defending his honor even when he’s been radio silent.”
“hannie,”
“i’m just saying,” he relents, but his mirth never leaves. “besides. i wouldn’t take it personally. he’s head of field day this year and has been really busy, though. try talking to him then, yeah?”
your answering okay is less enthusiastic at the timeline, but your thank him nonetheless with a faint smile as your worksheets finish printing. the moment you slip out of the office and the door clicks shut, jeonghan whips his phone out to fire off a slew of texts.
jh: can’t believe i’m playing middle man because you’re too afraid to ask if she’s actually seeing him -_-
jh: you have until field day to get yourself together, you big oaf
jh: you’re lucky i didn’t tell her you’re hiding out in your office because you can’t face her ….
his phone dings not too long after.
sc: yeah yeah.
sc: thanks.
jeonghan rolls his eyes.
jh: you can thank me when you finally make a MOVE !!
Tumblr media
summer is bright on the horizon, the sun beaming down its pretty rays for all to bask in, and you shed your hoodie lest you begin to sweat through it. a few whistles and friendly cheers follow suit, and you all but wave them off cheekily, striking a silly pose that makes your students gathered around you burst into giggles.
joshua’s borrowed baseball cap nestled comfortably on your head, you grin down at all fifteen of them with newfound vigor. it was your first field day as a pledis elementary teacher, but you figured the same rules applied to any regular old sports filled day—fight hard, play fair, but win at all costs. and you expected nonetheless from each and every one of your little fighters.
clapping twice to gain their attention, you place your hands on your legging-clad thighs to lower yourself to their level. “are we ready to play?”
“yeah!” soo-ah and a few other pump their fists in the air, and your heart swells at their enthusiasm.
“are we ready to win?”
“yeah!” wriggling in excitement, a few of your boys begin taunting the nearby classes, and you look up to share amused glances with joshua, yaerin, and a few other teachers.
“your kids definitely seemed pumped,” joshua greets when you usher them to the starting line of the egg spoon race, hands propped on your hips after you step back. “must be something in the air?”
“it’s definitely contagious,” you agree, but you throw him a sly look. “i definitely think soo-ah was born with it, though. she looks ready to eat your poor kids alive…”
true to your word, the glint in soo-ah’s brown eyes is especially noticeable on the field, quickly claiming the leader title and dividing her classmates into sections according to each game. if you didn’t know any better, you’d have thought she’d been planning this for months.
“don’t come crying to me when you get bested by my students,” you tease, and joshua shoves your shoulder playfully in response. the two of you laugh amongst yourselves for a bit, and in the midst of your jostling, you spot… him.
joshua relents at your distracted state and follows your gaze to where seungcheol stands with his assistant, vernon, and jeonghan. you recognized vernon from your last board meeting, blunt commentary making it almost impossible to keep a straight face, and you raise a hand to wave slightly.
vernon waves back, hollering something no doubt crudely hilarious, and joshua snickers when jeonghan slaps his shoulder in response. you’re not looking at them, though.
neither is he.
“you guys are so gross.” joshua pretends to gag when he notices, and tugs you over to where yaerin stands leading a playful chant with his students. “tell yn she’s being gross and in love.”
“you’re being gross and in love,” your best friend repeats without missing a beat, and to your horror, the students repeat that as well.
“miss yn is being gross! and in L-O-V-E!”
“joshua hong and kim yaerin, i swear to all things sweet and holy—”
“miss yn is being gross! and in L-O-V-E!” they join the chant with matching smirks, even doing a strangely coordinated dance that sends them both and his students into hysterics. you groan, thoroughly embarrassed by the curious glances you receive, but can’t help the grin you try to hide behind your palm.
this field day was definitely going to be interesting.
Tumblr media
“are we having a good time??”
seungkwan grins behind the megaphone as the crowd before him erupts into cheers, students stomping their feet enthusiastically. seungcheol stands next to him looking pleased, and your smile softens at the sight of him looking happy.
it’s not for you, though. the brim of joshua’s cap hides the falter in your gaze.
“so! the scoreboard for this year’s field day is very close. as you all know, mr. hong’s class—”
“it’s joshua!” he hollers from beside you, hands cupped around his mouth as he grins mischievously. “we’re not in class, kwannie, we can be a little informal!”
seungkwan’s expression deadpans in his direction amongst the titters of scattered laughter and muffled snorts, and you all but roll your eyes in good nature.
“as you all know,” seungkwan repeats flatly, “joshie’s class came first last year—”
joshua makes an offended sound at the nickname, and you duck your head to poorly hide your laugh.
“—during the students’ games. but cheol’s team came first in the staff dodgeball game.”
a low murmur rises above the crowd and joshua squints in amusement. you can feel cheol’s stare in your direction, but you don’t meet his eyes.
“same rules apply as last game: the staff will be split in two through a game of rock paper scissors. if you get hit, you’re out, but only below the shoulder. we don’t want a repeat of last year.”
you’re about to turn to ask joshua what could have possibly happened, but soonyoung’s outraged hey! prompts enough laughter to garner a general idea.
“the reigning champion is captain of one team of course,” seungkwan continues, “and this year’s opposing team captain is….”
joshua grips your arm. seungcheol’s gaze narrows, and seungkwan grin takes on a cheshire look.
“yn!”
your jaw drops in surprise, but you quickly mask it with a fierce grin despite your heart hammering in your chest. “i accept!”
the cheers swarm around your head as you excuse yourself up to the stand, waving out to the crowd as you stand next to seungkwan.
“yn’s debut is already impressive! her class is already ranked first in all the games,” seungkwan appraises you with an impressed nod, “but will she keep it up until the end of the game!
“yes she will!”
you grin as soo-ah’s voice pipes up from the crowd, waving eagerly up at you sporting a wide smile to match yours. your students are quick to pick up on the cheer, and soon, the crowd is chanting your name as you beam with pride.
“yn’s got some fans, i see,” seungkwan raises a brow. “but i don’t see cheol wavering one bit! typical of our reigning champion.”
“i won’t go down without a fight,” seuncheol states smoothly, and for a moment, meets your gaze. “let’s hope she can keep up.”
“with the way you complain about your back? it’s you i’m worried about,” you shoot back, and he makes to shake your arm in retaliation but is stopped by seungkwan’s arm.
“let’s save it for the battlefield,” he grins. “may the seventh annual teacher’s dodgeball game begin!”
the games of rock paper scissors are quick and brutal, and you sweep your gaze across your team with a stern expression. joshua, minghao, vernon amongst your team, you nod a quick greeting to the others you vaguely remember and flash a smile.
“hey everyone. i’m new here as you all know,” you address the team, and they all snap to attention. “but i’ve never let that deter me from getting what i want. i’m here to win and won’t expect anything else from each one of you.”
you place a hand in front of you, determined and steady. “are we in it to win, or are we here to be played?”
joshua and vernon immediately place their hands over yours with grins to match, and one by one, you see the spirit filter through everyone else.
“let’s crush the other team.”
turning around, you point to seungcheol with a lazy smirk as your team cheers behind you.
“prepare to eat grass!”
vernon cracks up at the play on words. you don’t hear his answering holler due to jeonghan tugging him in the opposite direction, but his expression says everything you need to know. he wasn’t backing down from this game, but neither were you.

“well this is an interesting turn of events.”
seungkwan looks insanely pleased, leaning forwards from his announcer’s post. visor blocking the sun from blinding his view, he brings his megaphone to his lips once more.
“looks like we’ve boiled down to just two players—our beloved captains, no less.”
ball in hand, you pay no mind to seungkwan’s hosting as you focus on the player before you. emptyhanded, he has two balls on either side of him that he doesn’t reach, gaze locked on your every move. he knows if he bolts for either one, you’ll tag him out as soon as he turns his back—and it’ll be game over, his winning history halting to a stop.
seungcheol frowns, his predicament dire, and hisses quietly when you move opposite him when he inches closer to the ball on the left. he looks fed up, brows furrowed, and you can’t help the cocky smile that spreads across your lips at the sight.
“what’s the matter?” you coo, and mirror his movements as he makes another failed attempt. “they’re right there… only a few steps and you’d have one.”
yn, no flirting on the field! someone that suspiciously sounds like yaerin shouts, and you stifle a giggle at the retort.
“you’re a piece of work,” seungcheol groans, and shakes his head.
“you like it,” is out of your mouth before you can stop it, and it stuns you both.
what?
his eyes widen, lips parted as he stands straighter, and you take your chance before he can form any words about your slip up. your ball hits his leg and he grunts, the ball ricocheting from the force of your throw before he can grasp it.
seungkwan’s whistle echoes in your ears and you fall to the grass in relief.
soo-ah bolts out of joshua’s arms and careens into you at full speed, yelling excitedly as your team and students burst into cheers. you’re knocked flat on your back but you laugh, hugging the girl to your grass stained shirt with a grin. your name is chanted as you’re hoisted up and onto joshua and vernon’s shoulders, and you allow yourself to laugh and wave as seungkwan hands you a little trophy.
“congratulations to yn leading her team to victory in her first year!” he points to your grinning face, “we expect to see great things from you.”
the crowd disperses for food and drinks after you’re congratulated more times than you can count, but the one person you’re looking for is no where to be found. handing soo-ah your trophy, to which she squeals in delight and rushes to boast about, you spot him loitering near a secluded area and you approach him with caution.
“…hi.” your voice makes him look up, and you suppress a shiver as his gaze washes over the green patches on your white tee. you offer a smile, “no hard feelings?”
he simply holds your gaze, silence becoming too much to bare, so you open your mouth to rattle off an excuse and slip away—but he stops you with a hand on your arm and draws you close.
“you’re a piece of work,” he murmurs, and flicks the brim of your cap. you shoot him a dirty look and he smiles, finally, when you fix it. “but i do like it.”
you freeze, embarrassment creeping up your neck. “that was just shit talking,” you laugh nervously, hands waving. “i didn’t mean it—”
“but i do like it,” he repeats, and his smile turns fond. “i like you.”
oh.
your hands drop to your sides, lips parted in surprise. “you do? i mean, i thought it was obvious that i liked you—i mean, what—”
he laughs and you pull the cap further down on your head. seungcheol only lowers himself so you meet his eyes in your sheepish state, and a pretty smile tugs at the corners of his lips.
“i want to take you out for lunch. for real,” he adds with a pointed look, and you bat at his arm. “maybe…. this friday? after classes?”
“i’ll smell like glue,” you retort weakly.
“it beats the smell of the gym any day.”
bonus:
soo-ah watches the two of you proudly from where she’s perched in seungkwan’s lap, and high-fives him when seungcheol pulls you into a hug.
“i still can’t believe she planned on this,” yaerin stares at the little girl in awe. “is every kid in the school a genius?”
“no,” joshua snorts, “just this one.”
