Gladion x Reader

(prep school AU)

It was Y/n's first day of school and also her first time seeing her friend Gladion in a while. She walked into the school and asked for her dorm number, key, and schedule. The receptionist gladly gave her the things she needed and gave her some directions. Y/n walked up the stairs and passed many people who just stared at her like she was an alien. She finally got to her dorm and knocked on the door before opening it.

"Hey- Gladion?!" Y/n exclaimed

"Y/n!? What are you doing in my dorm!"

"What are you doing in my dorm?!"

The two friends both stopped for a second but then embraced each other.

"Oh I see you two already know each other" A lady announced causing to the pair to separate from each other

"So you're both probably confused but you two will be sharing a dorm despite your genders because of an uneven amount of female and male students and a lack of dorms, we already talked to your parents about this and since they know you two are friends they signed off" The older woman walked into the room

Once everything was situated the woman left leaving Gladion and Y/n alone.

"So, it's been a while hasn't it" Y/n awkwardly broke the silence in the room

"Yeah... you look a lot different" Gladion told her

"So do you"

"Wanna battle?" Gladion asked

"Yeah sure it'll be just like old times... the old times when I would always win" Y/n said mischievously

"We'll see about that Y/n"

Gladion led her out of the dorm and the two made their way out of the school. On the way they were met with stares from the other students and glares from Gladion's fangirls. They made their way out to the schools battle field and go to opposite sides from each other.

"You ready to lose Gladion" Y/n teased bringing out her Altaria

"Pffft- I won't be the one losing" Gladion told her while bringing out his Lycanroc

People started gathering around the sides to see the two battle.

"You can have the first move" Y/n offered

"Alright then. Lycanroc use rock throw"

"Altaria dodge it and use dragon dance"

Y/n's Altaria swiftly dodged rock throw and successfully did dragon dance

"Lycanroc use stone henge" Gladion's Lycanroc was fast enough to do some damage on Y/n's pokemon

"You can do this Altaria, when you're ready use fury attack" Y/n exclaimed

Y/n's Altaria eventually won to Gladion's dismay. Y/n did a celebratory dance and then she made her way to Gladion.

"Good job Gladion!" Y/n congratulated him

"Looks like I underestimated you" Gladion said

"You really did" Y/n bragged while beginning to head back to the dorms

"Yeah I'll beat you next time" Gladion told her

They headed back to their dorm and got ready for bed. Y/n was brushing her hair and Gladion was winding down and playing some games on his phone. Y/n had decorated her side of the dorm and their sides were very contradictory. Her side is very elegant and blue while Gladion's was very punk. They were chit chatting until a boy came bursting into their dorm making them both sit up.

"Gladion holy- wait whose this" A kid with green hair almost screamed as he entered

"That's Y/n Hau she's my roommate, now why are you screaming" Gladion groaned

"Your sister has a boyfriend!"

Y/n gasped.

"No she doesn't Hau"

"Gladion you didn't tell me Lillie also goes to school with us" Y/n whined

"Well I'll take you to her dorm and you can see her!" Hau suggested totally forgetting everything he was just screaming about

"Yeah let's go" Y/n jumped out of her bed and walked over to Hau

Gladion got up to follow the two just to make sure they don't cause any accidents

Hau walked Y/n over to Lillie's dorm which she shared with a girl named Bee. He knocked on the door and waited for one of the girls to open it. Bee came to the door and stared up at the older kids at the door.

"Lillie your brother and he friends are here" Bee called for Lillie

Lillie came to the door and Bee whispered something to Lillie before she went back into the dorm.

"Hey guys- Y/n?!" Lillie exclaimed

"Hey Lillie" Y/n smiled

The four had a lovely chat and Lillie does not have a boyfriend, Hau was wrong. Eventually they had to go back to their dorms for lights out. When Y/n and Gladion got into their dorm Y/n immediately got into her bed. Gladion was going to stay up a bit longer and Y/n was already asleep. About an hour went by and Gladion finally got tired. He walked over to Y/n's bed and made sure she was ok and kissed her head and regretted that decision because Y/n smiled and quickly sat up and started laughing.

"Thanks for the goodnight kiss Gladion" Y/n was still laughing but she stood up and kissed Gladion's cheek

~~In Lillie and Bee's dorm~~

"You think Gladion and Y/n will date Bee?" Lillie asked petting her Alolan Vulpix she calls Snowy

"Yeah Gladion seemed fond of her, he's never fond of anybody normally" Bee responded petting her Espurr (Espurr is my favorite Pokemon)

"I never really talk about this stuff but do you have a crush?"

"No... maybe, crushes are a waste of time I wanna find true love after school Lillie" Bee explained

"Makes sense...wait you said"maybe" so you do like someone!"

~~In the morning~~

Y/n woke up to Gladion's alarm which she was not happy about. Y/n groaned and put her pillow over her head and ears. Gladion sat up and shut off the alarm. He got up fairly quick but Y/n was still in her bed.

"Y/n wake up we have school" Gladion told her

"Nooooo" Y/n whined

"Such a child" Gladion mumbled

"Hey! I am not a child!" Y/n retorted

Y/n finally decided to listen to Gladion and get up. She grabbed her stuff and headed to the shared bathroom to get ready. She put on her uniform except for the blazer but she added some shorts underneath her skirt (because if she's like me and her bottom makes it to where skirts are too short on her butt... it's a curse), did her hair, and walked out of the bathroom to put on her socks and shoes.

"You have shorts under that skirt right?" Gladion said while messing with his tie

"Yeah why?" Y/n asked

"Some of the boys here will try to look up your skirt, I'm just making sure" Gladion said

"Ew gross"

The two finished getting ready and packing their book bags. They started to walk down the halls to their first class to their luck they have all the same classes except for their athletic periods. (What a coincidence :0) Gladion showed her the way and just like yesterday she got stared at. Gladion was honestly scared for Y/n because kids are mean. The pair went through the day like it was nothing and when lunch came Y/n sat with Lillie and her friends. While talking and eating the so-called 'popular girls' came up to their table. It was a group of five. They were all fairly pretty and had that look to them that just screamed they're royalty in this school.

"So you're Y/n right?" A girl who looked like she was the bossiest of the bunch asked

"Yeah that's me" Y/n said with a smile

The girls introduced themselves as Musume Ronshaku, Kashiko Murasaki, Hana Daidaiyama, Kokoro Momoiro, Hoshiko Mizudori. (Yes I'm using the yandere simulator bullies)

"Why don't you come sit with us? We promise it'll be fun"

Y/n looked to the people she was sitting with for confirmation and the girls nodded at her Y/n stood up with her lunch and the girl who asked her name linked arms with her (probably a Melanie Martinez reference *cough* Lunchbox friends *cough*) They lead Y/n to another table where their stuff was Y/n was sat right beside Musume.

"So Y/n how's your first day been?" Kokoro asked

"It's been alright Gladion has really been a major help" Y/n replied

"Already stealing boys hearts I see, I mean you're a pretty girl I can see how someone could fall for you" Kashiko remarked

"I mean I'm not that pretty and me and Gladion are only friends I've known him forever y'know" Y/n told them

Y/n spent the rest of lunch with those girls and they eventually got her number and social media account names and Y/n felt like she actually made some friends. When lunch was over she went to her next class and waited for Gladion. The rest of the day went by fairly easy and they got to relax for the rest of the day until bed time.

"So did you make any friends?" Gladion asked

"Yeah I did these girls came up to me during lunch they all had blonde hair and tan skin but they all had different color streaks in their hair" Y/n described the girls and Gladion became concerned

"Y/n I'm not saying not to be friends with them but be careful I won't boss you around but I will try to help you"

Y/n and Gladion walked back to their dorm so they could change into something more comfortable. Y/n went into the bathroom to change and Gladion changed in their room. They changed and decided to go play in the field with their pokemon.

Months went by like minutes and years like days. Y/n and Gladion graduated with almost no problems and Y/n even won prom queen which was a huge shock to her. They were now living as roommates in their own apartment. I guess some things never change. Gladion and Y/n did eventually start dating thanks to Lillie and Hau and today was their 1 year dating anniversary.

Y/n woke up to the sun shining through the window and immediately remembered that it's their anniversary. She looked at Gladion who was sleeping beside her. 'God he's so pretty' she said to herself. She decided to get up and make breakfast so she did. She walked to the kitchen and turned on the coffee pot. She got out a frying pan trying to be as quiet as possible. Her Altaria came into the room to greet Y/n.

"Good Morning, Altaria" Y/n said getting some eggs out of the fridge and setting them on the counter. She turned on the burner and cracked the eggs into the pan.

"Good morning Y/n" Gladion said shuffling out of the bedroom and into the kitchen. He walked to Y/n and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind resting his head on her shoulder.

"Good morning Gladion" Y/n chirped

Y/n was a morning person and Gladion was not. They're opposite additudes, styles, preferences made them a great match.

Y/n continued making breakfast and Gladion clung to her the whole time even when she walked around to turn if the coffee pot, grab plates, but bread into the toaster.

They spent the rest of their morning lounging around until Gladion fully woke up.

Y/n was watching some TV while laying on the couch with the pokemon until Gladion crawled to lay on top of her with his head on her chest. Y/n laughed at his cuddly behavior. They both fell asleep fairly quickly because I'm tired of writing this oneshot.

Hello, hi, how are you? I am Max, and yes I did disappear for quite a while due to being very behind in college work, but am now adjusting my blog to be stress relief when not studying- instead of additional stress :')

This will be exactly the same as my last rules post, just with a few big changes. If you decide you like my works, I recommend checking here often as things might change slightly sometimes :)

And yes. I am very aware this is a lot of characters. I like them. And I want to write things I like, without worrying about it being popular :3

I will no longer be open to writing dark or mature content (with one exception) - so no angst or smut (I tried and felt awful about writing it for pokemon)

Y/n’s pov

I walked down the sidewalk on a warm Alolan afternoon, getting tired and not wanting to walk the rest of the way home cause my pokeride app wasn’t working at all i stoped by a big tree. The grass there was warm and comfortable it was dry and didn’t wet my clothes. The tree was right next to a malasada shop. The smell coming out of the window. I got comfy and put my bag down. Before I knew it I was out cold.

Gladion’s pov

I looked everywhere for him “where is that brick head...” I looked in his apartment, by his favorite place, everywhere. I passed the masala shop and noticed a figure behind a tree. I went up to it and it was Y/N. “That’s where you were... wake up” he doesn’t react “wake up block head” I flick his nose. He scrunches up but still asleep. I realized I was right above him practically on him I try to get up but he wraps his arms around me and pulls me down. I’m trapped. My face in his shirt all I can smell is his shirt the cloth it smelled nice. Soon I fall asleep with him.

Y/N’s Pov

I felt a warmth over me It started to retreat, I didn’t want that. I pulled the warmth closer it struggled a bit but it stopped. It smelled of vanilla. Gladion? Gladion always smelled of vanilla I felt fluffy hair on my chin. Yup gladion. What was Gladion doing here? I liked Gladion he was nice but hid it with his edgy ness he was cute but probably won’t admit it. I went back to full sleep cuddling Gladion.

Chapter 2

Y/N’s pov

I woke to giggling and clicking of photos I opened my eyes to see Hau and Lillie hovering over us I growled softly and Hau said “shit he’s awake” I responded with “yeah I am what the hell are you doing?” “Taking pictures!” Said Lillie and once again i said “no no your not” and used my powers being a Gaster and all (Gasters are my ocs last name I’ll explain that later) to grab the phone out of the air and into my bag “Hey!” I flipped them off eyes closed. “Look Gladion is waking up!” Hau whisper yelled. Gladion was he opened his eyes and used his hands to get of the ground but he was on me so his hands were on my chest he shot up and accidentally did something and was in a more seductive pose. His legs were around my neck he scooted away his back hitting the tree “sorry I didn’t mean to” “I know” “....” “........” Lillie’s eyes widened and she squealed.

Gladion’s pov

I woke up and moved my hand to get up instead of touching ground I touched Y/N’s chest I took my hand away and trued to get up he got up at the same time and we ended up in a more seductive pose my legs around his neck his hand holding them. Lillie squealed and i glared at her i scooted back hitting the tree. “So are you a thing yet?!”

“NO”

“Hopefully”

“What.”

“Nothing”

It was around 7:30 pm (Yall fell asleep at 4) Y/N was making flirty remarks the whole time walking to his house Gladion was hiding his face in his hands the entire time. Once they got to his house Y/N laid on his bed while Gladion was resting his chin and clinging to a giant Passimion plush like a damn komalla (think that’s how you spell it) “You like it?” Said Y/N “no just makes a good pillow” “it does it’s really soft” “what are we going to do” said Gladion Y/N responded with “idk my guy” “you need to stop” “stop what?” “Everything” “damn ok” it was a bit latter scrolling through movies and tv shows. “just put something on damn it” “sounds like your lecturing me to put on some clothes” Gladion grunted hiding his blushing face into the passimion plush. “Hehe” “shut up...” “ok whatcha wanna watch” “i don’t know, Sherlock mabey?” He immediately regretted his decision to share when Y/N started laughing “what are you some kind of cute nerd behind all that edge!?” Y/N patted next to him. “Your fucking insane if you think I’m sitting next to you” “aww I’m hurt” Gladion ended up between his legs somehow Author isn’t explaining there tired. Pokespe Gold, Silver and Bronze? An Arc Progression Analysis

Hey readers! I'm back and ready to attack a long post that had a long time coming. It is time for the part 2 of my prediction for the Gen 8 Pokespe dexholders/dexholder analysis. I would recommend reading my previous “What Type are you?” but there is a recap below for need-to-know info. Skip to the asterisks if you've already read (thanks).

Grass type dexholder = character who has self-intrinsic motivation despite life pushing them down and the path to their goal doesn't hurt many people.

Fire type dexholder = character who tramples over anything or anyone in the way of their goal.

Water type dexholder = character who hides important information from other characters and is secretive.

Gen 8 Male Character Counterpart = water type

Gen 8 Female Character Counterpart = fire type

Relationship (platonic) between the two = more emotionally charged and dramatic than other pairs.

***Today in our analysis, part 2 looks at exploring the progression of Pokespe against the evolution of...comic books of all things...and how the sets of holders mirror the ages of comic books.

DISCLAIMER: I am personally not a fan of comic books, despite my love for the superhero shonen of BNHA, and all this information is extrapolated from online research. Also this post was inspired by a post on the dexholders opinions of the pokedex which I can't refind for the life of me because I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE THIS FREAKING SEARCH BAR CORRECTLY. Credits to them for inspiration. Somewhere out there.

SPOILERS BEWARE.

So, let's start at the beginning with the main arcs for our first three dexholder trios (RGB, GSC, and RS; with Yellow and Emerald to a lesser extent). These arcs represent the Golden Age equivalent in Pokespe.

The Golden Age (from the late 1930's to the middle of the 1950's) is described as the introduction of archetypes for the genre, and heroes and villains were depicted as very white and black in order to provide moral for a society in wartime.

While the original arcs of the manga were marketed towards 10 year olds in the 1990s-2000s instead of 10 year olds in the time of WW2, there is many of the same patterns in how they present the stories.

The RGB arc is the most shonen-esque out of all of them, where Red simply plays the role of the standard protagonist you've seen countless times and an episodic formula for chapters. The rival of Blue also feels standard by this definition and the conflict with Team Rocket is pretty black and white. Giovanni is a mafia boss who kidnapped an entire town, genetically engineered multiple Pokemon through harsh experiments, was willing to murder kids; and all for “The Glory of Team Rocket.”

GSC gives you the exact kind of story you expect with a shonen target market and a hot-headed + headstrong main protagonist (a f*ckboy). The main villain of the Masked Man who kidnapped children also keeps him firmly on the evil side and our protagonists who oppose him firmly on the good one.

Then while RS may have been unexpected for most readers, considering a secretive male protagonist clashing with a headstrong female protagonist, a stronger character focus and development was to be expected. Plus, despite Ruby initially ignoring the fight against the region and Norman (who I still maintain is a sh*tty parent and should not have been forgiven for his treatment of Ruby that easily) both are still painted on the side of good. Ruby does the closest in giving a complex protagonist, but by the time he locks Sapphire in the aircar and teams up with Courtney, the reader can understand he's still on the side of good.

Mainly, the reason they never seem too morally grey in the first arc is that the in universe characters do not address their flaws as in depth as they should. Plus, the villains of Maxie and Archie are both shown be extremely corrupt and willing to endanger their own for the end means; providing a level of villainy to overshadow the grey tones of Norman and Ruby.

The arcs are all often grouped together when talking about Pokespe as well because the first three regions of dexholders are the only ones that have actually interacted with one another. And the post which I CAN'T find classified their stance on the Pokedex as they take their roles as protectors of the region seriously and accept the responsibility.

This translates well into the Golden Age characterization as this view of all the dexholders makes them appear more noble than most; magnifying the heroic traits of dexholders and heightening the contrast with the villainous teams.

Next up in the timeline was the Silver Age. The notable features of the Silver Age (mid 1950's to 1970) are hard to peg down, but they conclude important aspects are: targeting a wider audience including girls and adults, science fiction overcoming gods and magic in use in stories, and the pop art style started in this time period.

The Silver Age honestly doesn't have much to apply to Pokespe, but the Silver Age is a transitional era for comic books, as its boxed in by the much more influential ages of the Golden and Bronze ages. For Pokespe, its version of the Silver Age does seem to adjust its target audience to a wider audience of kid Pokemon fans (as there isn't too much “mature” content in Sinnoh or Unova arcs). However, its new hook lies in “the power of friendship”; also noted in that elusive post.

The DPP arcs centres around a trio that all become very close friends, with the Pokedexs canonically serving a role to demonstrate the bond all three of the characters have developed. Plus, Dia is a protagonist who completes believes in friendship for all as he listens to Cyrus is the Platinium arc, possibly giving him the chance to amend his wrongs.

BW may not have a trio of great dexholder friends, but the connection that develops between Black and White have a strong focus, and Black's friends of Cheren and Bianca also have a strong present in the story and exhibit the friendship that exist all between them. Meanwhile, the power of friendship cannot really apply to Team Plasma, but they definitely manifest the transition from “evil for the sake evil” to “complex motives that may not make them evil”. Despite N being the near definition of “morally grey” in Pokemon, the manga keeps him in a dark enough light that the reader can't fully think of him outside of evil—unlike the game.

Following up the Unova adventures in B2W2, this arc does a better job of emphasizing friendship. While Lack-two/Blake claims to lack any emotions, I'm not sure if it would hold up to a power of friendship punch in his emotionless face. Whi-two/Whitley also learns a lot about becoming friends as she gets closer and opens up to Blake—despite it being a ploy for information—still pushes the friendship theme. The evil is team is dealt with better as well, because Whitley has sympathy for N and the old values of Team Plasma, being a former member herself; and we see one of the older members aid Hugh in his search for Purloin. By having the new terrorist branch of Team Plasma cover the evil, it allows the members who follow the previous values to be painted in a redeemable light.

Finally, we arrive at the two most recent arcs of XY and SM/USUM. Or the Bronze Age equivalent of Pokespe.

The Bronze Age (1970-1985) of comics is the one people who are fans may know fairly well. Darker plots returned in full forces, tackling more serious topics such as poverty, pollution, and dangerous substances. Heroes were also more flawed and complex than they had ever been; and villains were dipped deeper into grey.

And if you've read the XY arc, these traits are probably ringing some alarm bells. The arc was extremely dark, expanding on the games in a way they never managed to achieve. The main theme of the arc is the apathy of society and how its flawed, self-serving natures screws over anyone unfortunate enough to be caught in its wake. This stance that Team Flare took against society had radical actions (tons of it), but the sucky behaviors demonstrated by Kalos citizens in the manga prove society is far from perfect. The story of Emma/Essentia is also compelling as you understand she is on the wrong side, but with some right reasons.

X is additionally one of the most flawed male player character protags by far; the best way to describe him being all the negative mental problems shoved into one 12-year old boy (which I mean in the most loving way possible). Y also has her repressed problems, and a standoff-ish/headstrong nature that puts her at odds with others; most notably with the huge fight with her mom.

Then, in the SM arc, despite the more lighthearted vibes that come from Alola; that does not undermine the Bronze age themes present throughout the arc. The manga does not shy away from manifesting the trauma Gladion and Lille have sustained from Lusamine going insane, Guzma smashes his head into a wall after losing a fight, and Lusamine's fusion with Nihelego horrifies our protagonists; as it probably should if you saw that for the first time. The manga seems to be going in the direction that Lusamine has lost all her marbles and can't be fully held responsible for her crazy actions. Plus, Sun's flaw of hyper-focusing on gaining all the yen he needs to buy back the island/hatred for the Aether Foundation; and Moon's flaw of a hero complex that causes her to help one problem, but abandon it for a new one when it comes up (on top of her cold attitude to people initially).

Their Pokedex stance was summed up in the post by: “WTF is this thing? I don't want it.” which fits pretty well with their overall stance on the region crisis. None of these four protagonists ever truly consented to saving the region. In Kalos, the reasons the protagonists fight back is that their town is destroyed and they are being assaulted by the evil team. And as for Alola, both Sun and Moon get sucked in slowly with smaller events until it's like: “Hey, you've bonded with the incarnations of the Sun and Moon. Guess you’re the last line of defence for Alola now!”

Thus, if the Ages have each of the three rotations sets in it, Gen 8 in the Galar region will also stick with the Bronze Age vibes. Though, that's to be elaborated on in a later post (so sorry).

Tl;dr The progression of arcs in Pokespe follow the same progression of comic books throughout the different ages. RGB-RS (also Emerald) are in the Golden Age, with standard archetypes and black and white divides between heroes and villains. The Silver Age doesn't tie in much to DDP-B2W2, but they are both transitional periods for villain characterization (evil, but with a chance for redemption) and have a new hook; this time in the form of friendship boosts. Last lies the Bronze Age for XY and SM arcs, known for darker plots, and complex and morally grey villains paired with complex and flawed protagonists.

Only Heaven Knows

Title: Only Heaven Knows

Summary: You might be winning the hearts of these boys to capture loose souls but every single time they always kissed you and not the other way around.

You think idly that if you ever fell in love you’d kiss him first. If you ever finish catching all 600,000 souls that is.

Pairings: Gladion x Reader and Reader x Everyone.

The tricky thing about winning over guys is capturing their attention. Fortunately, you were practically invisible. It didn’t matter if you were in the same class or in the same neighborhood. You were, as they say, a blank slate. And because you were blank it was easy to mold yourself into the kind of person that suited every guy.

It started with a love for Otome games.

You were bored and numb and somewhat felt that real life was lacking. Every girl was the same. Every guy was the same. Every single day of your life was a routine. There’s a pattern in every person’s behavior and a motivation behind every action. Wake up. Go to school. Remember. Pass your homework on time. Sleep. Meals were to be had between it all. It was all dreadfully empty and so were you. It was like a song endlessly playing on loop with the most repetitive and cheesy love song lyrics you’ve ever heard.

Discovering Otome games opened up your world and suddenly you had a place to use your thoughts, your skills, to be part of someone’s story without the messiness of dealing with real people and petty troublesome feelings.

You were better than great at this, winning over guys in games. Each personality type was predictable and just as you adjusted yourself to suit your means in the real world you also did in your games. And every boy you met became the guy for you. Each of them you won over, you loved.

And then you accepted a challenge from an anonymous user. This is the second thing that changes your life forever.

Because, after you accept it you meet Lillie Virdis.

Lillie was a nice girl. Well, a nice demon, but you get the point. She was tasked to help you capture sixty thousand loose souls living in the hearts of boys in your town by taking its place in their hearts. At first, it was hard to believe that demons existed right under your nose but it was easier to accept as time passed and Lillie remained at your side living with you in your little apartment working with you at your part-time job, and walking with you to pick up the money your parents sent you from where they were working abroad. Lillie became your friend before you knew it and you hadn’t realized you even felt loneliness until she started leaving traces of her around the apartment, her hat on the coat rack, her bag of loose soul capturing things sitting in the corner, and her fashion magazines on your coffee table.

Things start to form another kind of rhythm after your first conquest.

Flag 1: Hau

Hau was… an experience. He was almost undecipherable in the beginning. Lillie said that Loose Souls liked to stay in hosts that held lots of negativity inside of them. So, why Hau? He’s always been known to be a happy person and he’s your neighbor. You’d assumed he forgot you existed too since he hasn’t talked to you since you first came to the school. You always assumed he’d grown bored of you.

So, you were surprised to see that when you first approach him to gauge his personality type so you can win him over he cheerfully calls out your name.

“You…” You blink, temporarily caught off guard. “Know who I am?”

The tilt of your head must have been funny because he laughs. “Of course, I know you! I’d never forget you.” He smiles at you and its brighter than the sun. You almost loose your footing but immediately find him to be your usual funny and sweet guy.

You take weeks and weeks learning about him, getting him to trust you, to want to protect you. And eventually, after a nasty run in with a couple of guys who are absolutely pissed with you for taking up all of Hau’s time, Hau admits that he likes spending time with you more than anyone in the world.

Seeing your chance, you take his face in your hands and stutter out a confession and you’re almost surprised when he lunges forward to kiss you.

The Loose Soul screams as it’s sucked into Lillie’s soul capture ball which she shoves into her bag.

For some reason though, it feels like you hadn’t won. Hau hadn’t once given anything away to you. And even if you did conquer him, it felt like you’d missed something.

The next day, you have Science class with Hau and he’s back to hanging out with the very group he yelled at the day before for antagonizing you. You ignore the twinge of betrayal in your heart and remind yourself that this is a game before going back to your Otome games asking Lillie if there were any other Loose Souls around.

Flag 2: Ilima

And there was one. It was lurking inside of Ilima this time and when Lillie tells you this you groan.

Ilima is your typical pretty boy who the entire campus is in love with (both boys and girls alike). And yet, he is rich enough that the adoration doesn’t phase him. You know that the gentle and kind act wouldn’t work as well for him as it did for Hau. So, you change tactics.

You start using every ounce of knowledge you had and join every single one of his Quiz Bees, effortlessly beating him out in every single one. And instead of getting mad, Ilima is absolutely thrilled by you challenging him.

His conquest seems never ending. That is… until you find out about his bipolarism. He speaks to you in quiet tones at the back of a conference building after being defeated at another Quiz Bee that he was scared of people knowing of his more brutal side, of the side that only wants to win. He says he’s scared but when he battles you its like he’s completely himself, and that you let him be both without being at all afraid of what he might do to you.

And when he leans down, you let him kiss you.

His Loose Soul flies out of his body… and is sucked into a different ball, one that is black and red and held by a boy wearing all black looking like death itself.

“Gladion!” Lillie yells as the blonde floats down and knocks Ilima out.

You blink up at him, watching as he picks up Ilima and with his whispy thin raiment sits him down on a nearby bench. You knew that Lillie’s raiment let you change your appearance and create things temporarily for your conquest but you haven’t seen it used as an extension of her hand before. It’s intriguing to watch.

He must be the brother Lillie always talked about.

“Gladion is strong enough to hunt down Loose Souls by himself!” Lillie chirped as she took the Loose Soul ball from her older brother. “This is my partner!” She introduces you with a twirl.

Gladion stares at you assessing, glaring like he found you somehow lacking.

“So…” You start, nervously shuffling your hands. You curse yourself for acting this way when you are the God of Otome games and can win over any guy but apparently a demon is enough to make you stutter. “Every girl loves a bad boy, huh?” You ask.

You can see the exact moment that he brands you as incompetent and leaves, bored with your blandness.

Flag 3: Kahili

Anger pulses through you as you move on to your next conquest, anger that mostly is aimed at yourself for messing up your first impression with Gladion.

“Why are you so worked up about my brother, anyway?” Lillie asked, her mouth forming a wide ‘O’. “Could it be?” She flew up and twirled in the air. “The beginning of a forbidden love between demon and human?” She snickered.

You swatted at her but couldn’t reach her because of her flight. “It isn’t like that at all.” You insist, spotting your latest conquest.

Kahili was royalty, or so people said, and you didn’t want to say she was straight since she never said anything like that to you but setting that aside it looked like she was not interested in you or anyone.

“Is she asexual or something?” You think aloud.

Lillie blinks at you. “Well, I’d say you have a shot with him as long as you do your best! Game God!” Her raiment shimmered, white light listing from her scarf and turned into a large banner proclaiming GO GO GET HIM GAME GOD.

“I meant Kahili, not-” You stutter, brushing your hair back as you readied yourself to meet Kahili. “I don’t like your brother like that. I met him yesterday.” You roll your eyes and catch Kahili waving to her father and thanking him for dropping her off.

“Sure, you don’t.” Lillie hums.

You realize that Lillie is still talking about Gladion after Kahili enters the sports complex and you shake her. “We have a Loose Soul to catch! Stop playing matchmaker!”

“Yes, Game God!” She salutes and you both run to the sports complex.

You managed to defeat Kahili through tiring means.

Meaning, you had to work at her dad’s hotel for a few weeks and cheer for her at golf tournaments until you finally caught her having it out with some male golfers who were ridiculing her because she was a woman playing the sport because of her father’s money.

“I can see the end.” You mutter as you walk out onto the green and punch the man in the face.

You and Kahili sit outside of her dad’s hotel, Kahili holding an icepack where the man’s hand was imprinted on your cheek. She asked you why you did it.

You looked at her feeling deep sorrow for her. “Because, you deserve everything good in the world. And no man should tell you that you got it with anything other than talent and the kindness of your heart.”

Her eyes shone with unshed tears as she kissed you.

You don’t notice Gladion scoffing as he fled to capture his own Loose Soul on the other side of town.

Flag 4: Molayne

Conquering a teacher was always tricky, but Molayne seemed to make it easy enough by loving his cousin so much.

Your strategy is basically to dote on Sophocles a lot. You dote on him every chance you get and not just when Molayne is around because the kid is shy but he’s brilliant too. You watch in fascination as he created things and stuttered around scientific terms only a grad student would understand. You tell him he’s a genius and he blushes an adorable bright red.

In retrospect, you should have seen it coming.

And yet, you weren’t ready for the possibility that Sophocles would like you which made Molayne a little less affectionate with you.

You decide to wing it and face Molayne anyway.

“You’ve been avoiding me.” You say flatly, trying to gauge his response. You’ve gotten to know him well over the past few weeks but he still stubbornly keeps any emotion other than muted happiness off of his face. “And I know it’s because of Sophocles having a crush on me.”

He doesn’t say much besides support and finally you are fed up with his silence. “You’re so blind! And I don’t just mean because you need glasses!” You frown up at him.

Molayne blinks down at you, genuinely clueless.

“Soph is a sweet kid and so smart. But, do you have any idea how hard it is for me to see him like this crushing on me while I’m in love with his cousin?” You force the words out and find yourself crying too. Perfect, you can use that. “With a teacher no less?” You whimper a little for effect and stumble into his chest, your knees shaking. “It’s you.” You whisper.

You feel his arms wrapping around you as his hands cup the sides of your head.

He’s smiling and tears are falling from his face as he looks at you. “An old man like me? Don’t you think these younger kids- don’t you think they’ll do much better than me? Don’t you think I need to be replaced?” He asks quietly

Your eyes widen, genuine tears falling from your eyes. “No.” You wrap your arms around his neck and lean up. “No one can replace you.”

“You seem to be having fun.”

You look up and sigh as Gladion floats down to stand next to you. You’re still drained from Molayne’s conquest and the sadness you felt at not being able to laugh with him and Sophocles anymore. Lillie had been nice enough to bring Molayne back to the faculty office so that he’d wake up in a familiar environment. “Does it look like it?” You scoff. “Because I feel like each person I conquer takes a part of me.” You sniffle. “And they don’t even remember it.”

You cry as the rain falls over you and him, sitting on the cold rooftop gasping for air.

Gladion watches over you. And when you finally stop crying, hiccups shaking your wet frame, he sits next to you and pulls you into his embrace.

“I’m sorry.” He whispers as you fade into unconsciousness.

You don’t see Gladion for months after and manage to win over Kiawe in the interim. It’s a hollow victory but you let him see that he shouldn’t be afraid of change and are proud to watch as he starts competing in street dance competitions.

Flag 5: Guzma

You completely forget about Gladion by your 5th Conquest and for the first time in a while you can breathe without thinking of him. As if sensing this, Gladion decides to finally reappear to attempt to steal your next conquest.

You wonder why your heart had to go and cling to such an abrasive person. Demon.

“This Loose Soul is far too dangerous for someone like you!” He frowned down at you like you were out of your mind and greatly inconveniencing him, which you probably were to be honest. Greatly inconveniencing him. Because you were not out of your mind, you know exactly what you’re capable of. Gladion is just overreacting.

His words and expression made your blood boil and you spat out the first thing that came to your mind. “Oh? Someone like me? A puny human? Lets not forget it was your kind who asked for this human’s help!” You jabbed a finger at his chest repeatedly to underline your point.

“Lets not forget who already captured his six hundred thousand souls without a human. I know that this soul is dangerous.” He swatted away your hand irritated before his stance went from defensive to slumped in exasperation. “You shouldn’t even be anywhere near this soul.”

You take a step closer to him, ignoring Lillie’s pleas to back down, and take on an aura of confidence. “I am the God of Conquest.” You choke on the last syllable, the invisible ringbinding you to your contract to capture souls tightens around your neck like a noose. “And I have a contract to fulfill.” You turn sharply and walk away. Lillie trailed behind you as Gladion stared at your back, concerned.

You are both almost home when Lillie speaks again. “You need to defeat this soul or we’ll-” She chokes on her own collar.

Nodding, you look at your partner and friend. “We’ll be killed. I know.” Sighing, your mind goes back to Gladion. “I just don’t get him.” “He worries about you.” Lillie says quietly.

You scoff. “Yeah, sure.”

“Gladion has his reasons!” Lillie yelled, running forward and blocking your path. “He had a human partner.” She choked again and suddenly she was crying. “But, Sil was killed by one of their conquests.”

You tried to reach out to her but you were frozen, blinking in shock as she told you her brother’s story.

“It was a girl, she was involved in lots of bad things.” She explained. “He was on his way to give her flowers when the shootout happened and Gladion watched him fall down onto the ground and die.” Lillie’s voice shook with grief. “He had to collect the souls all alone because he still had to fulfill the contract and he was- he was so alone. He has been so alone for so long.” She stared at you, tears streaming down her face. “But, now he’s worrying about you, worried of what might happen to you and its not just because of me. It’s not, so stop belittling his pain! Don’t disrespect the feelings of someone you don’t understand!”

You fling your arms open and pull her into your shaky embrace, letting her heave into your shoulder. “I’m so sorry, I had no idea. I promise you that I will be careful-”

“You can’t die on us. Not you too.” She insisted.

“I won’t.” You tighten your hold on her and nod. “Trust me, I can do this.”

“Let me join Team Skull!” You shout, doing your best not to visibly shake in front of the squad of grunts now staring at you as though you were a chicken without a head. It had taken you a lot of detentions to finally get your conquest to talk to you and it was only by accident that you found out about his gang at all. Your conquest was the school delinquent, which was one of the more common types in games. Little did you know, delinquents in real life were much more dangerous.

Guzma, your conquest, stepped out of the pack and narrowed his eyes at you. “What did you say?” He asked, one eyebrow raised in amusement.

You shook your head, steeling yourself. “I’m not a violent person. I’m not strong or brave, I’m nothing special. And I’m definitely not at all the kind of girl you’d fall for. But maybe…” You take a deep breath and look him in the eye. “Maybe I can learn to be. No, I will learn to be, if that is what it takes to stay by your side!”

Guzma is silent for a long time before he starts to laugh. “You have guts, kid.” He grins, his face going suspiciously red. He extends his hand to you, head tilted to the side. “Welcome to-”

A loud crash breaks to perfectly set moment and you are shoved into the center of the grunt circle. “This is so touching, Guzma. Really.” An unknown voice echoes through the dark streets. You can’t see past the grunts but even you know it must be a rival gang. “You’re so soft on this one.” He snickered.

“Who sent you? Was it that crazy woman??” Guzma shouted.

A gunshot rang out and a grunt to your left collapses to the ground, red spreading from a hole near his abdomen. You stare at the entrance wound, watching blood seeping out slowly from his body as Guzma’s stocky frame blocks your sight. The school delinquent stares back at you with soft eyes. “You need to go.”

“But…” You blink, your mind still on conquest mode even after the shock of witnessing someone get shot before your very eyes. “What about you?” You asked.

He blinks owlishly at you and smiles. “You’re crazy.” He whispered and suddenly his face is inches from yours. “I can’t let the person I love get shot. Not when someone finally sees me for me.”

When his lips touch yours you are numb and your eyes are open, staring widely as the Loose Soul leaves Guzma’s body and is sucked into Gladion’s soul capturer. “You never needed me. And you won’t ever need anyone to prove your worth to you again.” You whisper as Guzma loses consciousness.

Multiple bodies hit the ground as rival gangs pass out. They won’t remember any of it when they wake up. It hardly matters when Gladion is staring at you, walking towards you slowly. Each echo of each footstep feeling like condemnation.

“Ah, I’ll take him to the hospital.” Lillie picked up the grunt who got shot, her raiment stemming the the blood flow enough for him to get treatment.

You flinch as Gladion comes to a stop in front of you. “Something you want to say?” You asked.

Gladion said nothing, his raiment producing a towel that he folded and started dabbing at your face. “You’re covered in blood.” He says, smiling hesitantly like a deer learning to walk.

You take the towel from him and wipe your face to shield the look of shock written on it.

“Great job.”

You nearly gasp, looking up at the blonde to see if he was joking. “Really?” You stutter, wondering all of a sudden where all that charm and suave you had disappeared to. “I mean, of course. I am the God of Conquest after all.” You babble and ah, you should really stop now or you’ll really regret everything later. “What I mean to say is thank you, for the compliment.”

“I was wrong about you.” Gladion winked, walking backwards. “But, you still have a lot to learn.”

You laugh. “There’s that bad boy charm.”

Gladion shakes his head and grins. You can clearly see why he’s so successful in his conquests. “All the girls want a guy they can fix.” He shrugs.

You cup your hands around your mouth as he takes off. “There’s nothing to fix!”

Flag 6: Gladion

You take a week of leave from school, claiming to be sick, and return to class the week after.

Gladion is more open with you, it’s a complete turnaround from when he used to worry about you from the sidelines. He’s surprisingly easy to talk to when he isn’t being mysterious and brooding. You find out he loves dogs and that he has been going to your school but in a different section under a different last name from Lillie’s. You also learn that he and Lillie don’t have a great relationship with their mother because she wants demons to have ultimate power over all the realms. Most demons aren’t in favor though. It concerns you.

You also learn that you like the way he pets every dog he sees and how his face lights up when he sees stars and the way his face scrunches up when he encounters something new that he can’t figure out like the coffee maker and the school vending machine.

You walk to school with Lillie and Gladion the next day, unable to keep your eyes off of him until you reach the gates and girls start trying to get Gladion’s attention.

“He sure is popular, how didn’t we notice before?” Lillie asked, taking a seat next to your table.

You stare out the window and rub at the throbbing muscle in your chest until your heart starts beating at a normal pace. “This isn’t good.” You mutter.

The moment the class is dismissed for lunch Hau shoots up from his seat and walks over to you like a man on a mission.

Unfortunately, Gladion is walking past your classroom to check if you and Lillie want to get lunch together with him when he finally makes his intentions known.

“I-I really love you. So, please-” Hau’s nose wrinkles in embarrassment as he bows to you. “Please go out with me!” He shouts, his classmates exclamations of confusion taking over the room and starting a riot.

You sit, completely paralyzed until a familiar hand grabs you by the arm. You look up to see Gladion steadying you with his firm gaze, his eyes flicking to his sister. “We’re getting lunch, let’s go Lillie.”

Lillie nods, grabbing hers and your things. “Yes, big brother.”

The room erupts in even more exclamations of ‘big brother?’ and ‘that’s Gladion!’ and oh boy you can already hear the rumors going about of Gladion – the most popular boy in his section – snatching Hau’s crush right from under his nose.

“This can’t be happening.” You mutter. “I don’t attract people when I’m me.”

Gladion opens his mouth like he’s about to protest but seems to decide otherwise. “There’s a chance he remembers the conquest.” He says instead through gritted teeth, continuing to drag you and Lillie until all three of you were comfortably sitting outside on a bench with your bentos out. “It’s never happened before but there is a possibility.”

“What if he really did like you even before the conquest?” Lillie asks dreamily. “It could be one of those loved you since we were kids things.” She sighed.

“No, there is no way.” You shook your head, biting aggressively into a riceball. “My life is never that exciting.” You and Lillie laugh, both of you looking at Gladion when he didn’t laugh too. “You okay?” You ask, head tilted to the side.

“I’m good.” Gladion said, wincing at his own bento. “Did you have to make the hotdogs heart shaped, Lillie?” He asked.

“Only because you are such a worrywart!” Lillie reached over to pinch his cheek but he dodged, almost knocking foreheads with you in the process. “Oh! That would have been a very shojo moment. Good thing you didn’t collide!”

“Yeah, I think after that confession I’ve had enough of shojo moments for years.” You roll your eyes, discussing the merits of wiping Hau’s memory of the confession.

“Yeah. Good thing.” Gladion said, frowning.

Hau catches you again as you’re about to re-enter the building. “Can we talk?” He spared a glance at Gladion and Lillie. “Just us?”

“Sure.” You nod at Gladion and Lillie watching as they entered the school knowing they’d just both sneak out with their flight and listen in. You take a seat with Hau at a nearby bench. “So-”

“I’m sorry for springing it on you earlier, you must have been surprised.” Hau laughted nervously and you respect him a little. It can’t have been easy for him to ask to chat with you like this after that embarrassingly public confession. “I’ve always been a bit pushy. But, I heard from everyone that you came to school with Gladion today and I panicked. I thought he might have… confessed to you or something.” He shrugged.

“Why would you think that?” You giggle and Hau smiles. It doesn’t give quite the same feeling as Gladion’s but its warm and welcoming like stepping into the shower after a long day of work.

“He’s always paid such close attention when people talk about you- I assumed.” His face got red again and he laughed to cover it up, a habit of his that you remembered from his conquest. “I’ve liked you for a long time.”

Your eyebrows shot up in surprise. So, Lillie was right. “Really?” You asked, but your mind was full of Gladion. Gladion’s smile. Gladion worrying about you. Gladion’s panic when Hau confessed to you. Gladion paying attention to you.

“I always thought there was something different about you. I always wanted to talk to you. But, I decided to wait for you to talk to me instead. Kind of stupid isn’t it?” He leaned back, seemingly coming to terms with himself. “But, I see you have someone else in mind already.”

You open your mouth to protest but find that you don’t know what exactly to say. “I-”

“Amazing.” He grins. “He even makes you speechless.” He looks over at a bush, standing up and walking towards it. “You can come out now.”

Gladion walks smoothly out of the bush, brushing himself off. “Hello, Hau.” He greets, looking absolutely venomous in the face of Hau’s contentment.

Hau patted Gladion’s shoulder, walking back to the school entrance. “You two sort this out.”

You were both silent, the sound of Hau’s fading footsteps haunting you both as walls rose to guard you both from each other.

“[Y/N]…” Gladion starts, stepping towards you.

You stand up, the wind pushing and pulling at your hair as you stared him down. “Do you like me?” You asked, voice shaking at the revelation.

Gladion stared stonily at you and sighed. “Yes.”

“Oh God.” Your shaky fingers probed at your forehead and brushed your hair back in frustration.

“I get it, it’s not a great time for this and you don’t need the drama but for what it’s worth I’m sorry.” Gladion said in rapid fire English, looking for once not like the strong and strict Gladion you knew and instead the vulnerable and open Gladion he’d let you have a glimpse of every now and then. “I’m sorry that I can’t be that guy.” He points to the entrance where Hau had been standing prior to the conversation. “I’m sorry that I was a jerk to you when the only thing you did was confuse and surprise me. And I’m sorry for being an idiot and only being nice after you proved your skill to me.”

“I’ll tell you one thing I’m not sorry for.” Gladion stepped forward and took one of your shaking hands in both of his. “I’ll never be sorry for loving you. Not even if the devil himself rises from his lake of fire to smite me.”

You laugh. “Is that a possibility?” You ask, teasing.

“It could be.” Gladion shrugs. “You never know with that guy.”

You throw your head back and let out another shaky laugh. “You know? You’ve always made me feel such weird things.” You whine, rolling your eyes.

“Weird things?” Gladion raised a brow at you and frowned.

“Well.” You clear your throat. “I’ve been playing and winning Otome games for a long time. I mean, I’m the God of Conquest.” You shrug, ignoring the audible yawn Gladion let out. “But, in front of you?” You look at him as if personally offended. “I feel like a little kid with sticky fingers jabbing at the buttons hoping I’m hitting the right ones.”

“Ah, so you’re not immune to my charms after all.” Gladion grinned.

“Ugh, fine.” You give in to his teasing, gracing him with a warm smile of your own. “It’s just like me I guess, to fall in love with literal demon spawn.”

Gladion stares at you for a second. “How do I know this isn’t one of your lines then?” He asked. “That I’m not one of your conquests.”

You think about all those boys you’ve won over and smile to yourself.

“This is how.”

You seized him by the collar and, for the first time ever, you kissed a boy.

Can't Sleep? Share a Bed With Your Crush

Aged Up Gladion x Non-Binary Reader

Prompt - Sharing a bed

You stumbled out of your room.

You yawned and stretched as you made your way to get a drink. You were awoken by the thirst and decided to get some water instead of ignoring it. It took you a while to find where the water was, you were on a boat.

Reason you were on a boat, you wanted to help Gladion find his father. When Gladion said he was leaving with his family to find his father you expressed your interest to help him. You had traveled with Gladion when he was completing your Island Challenges.

So you wanted to travel with him during this challenge. Gladion said that he would ask his mother and she said yes. Lillie also loved the idea. You were beyond joyed. So that’s how you got here. Stumbling through the boat you were all using to look for their father.

The dim lights that scattered the ship made it harder to find where you could get water. You all had only been on this ship for a few days. You used to be on a train and that was worse than the ship.

Once you finally found where the water was you took some and some so you could keep it in your room. Your Pokémon was right by your side, having followed you out of your room and through the ship.

You kneeled down and held the water bottle in front of their face. Asking them if they want some. When your Pokémon did nothing you stood back up and drank the rest of the water.

You threw the bottle of water away and started your way back to your room. But you noticed something. You noticed a door to the deck being open. You remember all of them being closed so this confused you.

So you decided to look.

You walked towards the open door and walked outside. It was about midnight. The moon was in the dead middle of the sky and stars were all over the sky.

You missed the night sky in Alola but the night sky here was still beautiful. Wherever you were. You were immediately hit with a cold breeze. You shivered and wrapped your arms around your chest.

You wanted to go back inside but what you noticed made you walk. You noticed Gladion leaning against the railing. Looking at the forest that bordered the dock. Umbreon was laying next to him and your Pokémon walked towards Umbreon and laid next to them.

Umbreon did nothing and if Gladion noticed he didn’t do anything either. Gladion was in his pajamas, and by that you mean he also had his jacket on.

You scold yourself for not getting a jacket before leaving. You walked next to Gladion and leaned on the railing next to him. You saw Gladion glance at you before looking back on the horizon. Gladion said nothing, so neither did you.

You wondered why Gladion was out here. Could he not sleep? Did he have a nightmare? You looked over at Gladion. You noticed the moon lit his face in a light glow.

His face was brimmed with a shimmering glow while his hair shined like the moon itself. You felt your face get red so you looked away. “Why are you out here?” You asked.

Concerned about Gladion and your fingers.

“Could ask you the same thing”, Gladion said and you smiled. Gladion could be funny when he wanted too. “Well I was getting some water when I saw you out here”, you looked back at Gladion, “Now why are you here?”

Gladion looked at you two. You tried to keep the blush on your face down when you saw his eyes. “Couldn’t sleep”, Gladion looked away. You knew that Gladion had a bit of a hard time talking about his emotions so you didn’t ask any more questions.

You just stood outside with Gladion, keeping him company. After a few minutes you could see Gladion slumping and you couldn’t feel your fingers. You pushed yourself off the railing and turned to Gladion.

“Why don’t we go inside? I’m starting to lose feeling in my fingers”, you held up your hand. Gladion looked at you and nodded. You and Gladion went inside and your Pokémon followed you.

When Gladion went to his room you stopped.

You should go back to your room but you wanted to make sure that Gladion fell asleep. When you were traveling with Gladion in Alola he had a problem with sleeping and staying asleep. Gladion rarely got enough sleep.

Gladion needed sleep if he wanted to find his father. You were also worried about him. If Gladion didn’t get through sleep on this journey, who could tell what could happen. You cared about Gladion, a lot. So you followed Gladion into his room.

When you entered you saw that Gladion was sitting on the edge of his bed. Umbreon was curled up at the end of the bed. You closed the door, something Gladion didn’t do. The sound drew Gladion’s gaze from the floor to you.

Gladion’s eyebrows furrowed and he asked you what you were doing. You yawned again and walked over to the opposite side of Gladion’s bed. The side that Gladion was not sitting on.

“Making sure you get some sleep”, you said. You laid down on the bed. Your head hit one of the pillows and you closed your eyes. It wasn’t the most comfortable laying on your back, but you wanted to give Gladion space to lay down.

Your Pokémon went to cuddle with Umbreon and promptly fell asleep. Gladion watched you. You didn’t do or say anything after you laid down. You just kept your eyes closed and breathing steady.

Gladion knew that you weren’t going anywhere. So he laid down next to you. Gladion was tense as he laid down. You looked over at him. You could tell that Gladion had a lot on his mind and that whatever he was thinking about kept him up.

Over the months you’ve traveled with Gladion, you’d say you’ve gotten really close to him. Gladion talked to you about stuff that others were lucky to hear.

You hoped that in the morning Gladion would talk to you about what was bothering him. But for now you knew that Gladion just needed to sleep. So you moved closer to Gladion and pulled him into your chest. Gladion blushed and tensed up again but he said nothing.

You loved that Gladion trusted you enough to do this. Maybe in the future he’d trust you more. Enough for you to love him. But for now, you just held him close and closed your eyes.

Gladion did the same. Finally relaxed enough to let sleep take him over. Gladion relaxed in your arms so he closed his eyes and pressed his face in your chest.

With a blush on his face.
