you’re honestly so disgusting for taking requests for Valentino. Especially NSFW ONES!!!
may I remind you that this man has done NOTHING but abuse, sexually assault, and rape Angel throughout the whole series?
like what is wrong is wrong with you people? Everyone tries to make it seem like “oh he’s just a silly little villain”. It isn’t hot, it isn’t cute, it isn’t funny. And it DEFINITELY is not sexy.
it’s absolutely disgusting how you try to normalize and/or justify his behavior. Valentino is just a straight up rapist and there is nothing, NOTHING you can do to justify his actions.
you’re so stupid for standing for Val, like he’s so shitty. How tf can you stand for this bitch?
I do not stand for Val’s behavior. I agree, nothing can justify his actions. I don’t stand for rape or assault in any way, and I actually put cw/tws in the tags of my Valentino posts.
Tumblr media
I do not promote, encourage, enjoy, influence, or support SA or rape. It truly is a traumatic topic, coming from a victim who’s actually experienced it, and I also agree, he’s not your every day, silly, “let’s take over the world” kind of villain.
I don’t like Valentino because he’s hot or because he’s evil, I like Valentino because he is written and portrayed well as the character he’s written as. Viv truly did a good job, and just because you like a character, doesn’t mean you support their actions.
and please, if certain topics make you uncomfortable, please read the tags on my posts before reading them.

I saw you drop a request in my askbox and bsksksjakdhkshd I love it- so imma drop an idea in yours too and what you do with it is up to you lolol
So what about Vox and a drunk fem!reader? Like they were kinda just chilling but Reader has one stupidly large crush on the TV man but is too shy to say anything- but it all comes out on a drunken spiel at some point?
Anyway have funnnn :D
A/N: SORRY FOR BEING INACTIVE. I got burnt out </3 But I hope you guys enjoy!
Word count: 1.2k (1,258) Contents: no mention of y/n, alcohol consumption, valentino being valentino
Drunk Confession [ Vox x F!Reader ]
After an extremely productive day, Vox decided to take out the employees that went above and beyond for their quotas, per your request. It took a lot of begging to convince the Vees to come along but Velvette denied, saying she didn’t want to hang around “lower class” demons. Vox agreed after you begged and pleaded repeatedly. Mainly just to get you to stop talking.
Everyone met up at the “Consent” club Valentino suggested. You show up, excited to have a day off and hang out with Val and Vox. One thing led to another and you got caught up in a drinking game with the employees. Vox watched you down shots after shots. Fifteen shots in and you were drunk out of your mind. You became a giggling, flushed, and drunken mess. You stumble over to Vox, draping your arm lazily over his shoulder.
“Hey, Vox!” Your words slurred as you spoke, a strong smell of alcohol emanating off of you. You give him a wide smile, “I’m so glad you came tonight. Made me really happy.”
Vox let out a chuckle, “I think you’re done for the night.” He says, glancing at his watch, “Let me take you home.”
You whined and pouted, “I don’t wanna.” As you tried to get up off of him, you stumbled over your own foot and fell. Vox caught you in time before you hit the ground and hurt yourself, shaking his head.
“Yeah, you’re definitely done.” He puts your arm around his neck and supports you. He turns to look at Valentino, “I’m gonna take her home. We’re done for tonight.”
Valentino smirked at Vox, “Don’t have too much fun, Voxy~” He teased.
Vox scowled in response, “Shut the fuck up. It’s not like that.”
Valentino laughs, “I’m just saying! But! if you do anything else…Record it for me.”
He grimaced at the comment. Who knows what Valentino would do with footage of you and him sleeping together? He stopped his own thoughts before he started to imagine it. “Gross! No.” Vox scoffed and walked out with you to his car. You were laughing at anything and everything throughout the whole car ride, pointing at every little light that interested you. Vox quietly admired this different side of you. You were always shy and professional around him, but this was new to him. He’d never seen you so open. He honestly liked it better than the front you’d put up at work.
You reach for the doorknob and miss it multiple times. “I can’t fuckin’ open it.” You whined, “Stupid door…Vox can ya open it f’me, please?” He sighed at your question and opened the door to which you wobbled over to your couch, nearly missing and landing on the floor. “Thankssss~” You look at him as he stands in your doorway. His arms were crossed and he was watching you with interest in his eyes.
Vox hasn’t seen you this wasted before, honestly it was entertaining to him. Usually you’d have a little bit of your wits but you just laid on your couch, giggling uncontrollably at him. He didn’t know if you would be okay to be left alone right now so he, reluctantly, shut your front door behind him.
“Why are you so giggly, right now?” He said as he walked towards you, joining you on the couch. You took this opportunity to stretch enough for you to have your head on his lap.
Your giggles didn’t cease unless you needed to catch your breath. You reach up and touch his screen, tracing the borders of his face with your fingers. “Because you’re sooooo cute~” You answered, “I looove being around ya all the time.”
He rolled his eyes, pulling your hands off of his face. He brushed away your compliments, writing them off as drunk talk. “You need to go drink some, I don’t know, water or something. And go to bed.”
You pout and whine, “I meannn it! I love workin’ with youuu.” You poked his screen.
“Yeah? But don’t you complain about work, which includes me, all the time?” He replied, crossing his arms. He didn’t want to admit to you that he liked your company and your help. Probably because you weren’t going to remember it anyways.
“Pfff-” You scoffed, “Youuuu…are what I look forward to~ I like you.”
Vox stared at you in silence. He heard what you said but he didn’t know if you were being honest or just drunk. His fans kicked up and his screen started to warm up. “W-Well…” He cleared his throat, attempting to stop himself from stuttering due to the curveball you just threw at him, “I like you too. You’re a good employee, you’re perfect in your work and hardly make any mistakes.”
You laughed at him, “Silly TV demon man~” You placed your hand on his screen, “I like like you~” As soon as you confessed, he warmed up even more under your touch. You giggled at this, “You’re hot.”
Vox became a flustered mess. You were just shooting curveballs at him at this point. He fiddled with his collar in an attempt to cool himself down before he crashed. He enjoyed your company and grew to like you over time. He didn’t really understand his own feelings until Velvette had to tell him, calling him oblivious for not realizing and an idiot for not understanding his own feelings. He managed to compose himself the best he could but his voice cracked as he spoke, “You need to go to bed.”
Your smile faded into a pout. You squint at him and cross your arms, “No! I dun’ wanna.”
“I’m not asking you to go to bed, you’re going to go to bed. You’re drunk.”
You sit up and scoff, waving your hand as if you were swatting his ridiculous statement away. “Who’s drunk?” You get up, walk around the couch just to end up on the floor.
He got up to look at where you fell, “You. Come on, let’s go.” He walked over to you, laughing a bit as you whined, lifting you up into his arms to take you to your room. He sets you down and begins to take your shoes and jewelry off. “You’re not doing any more drinking games after this.” He tucked you in but you were fighting the sleep that slowly crept up on you.
“I’m not even tired.” You say just to be proven wrong by your own body as a yawn comes after your statement.
“You worked and drank enough. Go to bed and get some rest. You deserve it.” His voice was softer this time. He shifts to leave but you grab him by his sleeve.
“Stay until I fall asleep?” You asked. He was internally screaming and malfunctioning but you were too drunk to notice. He simply nods and sits on the bed next to you, holding your hand until you eventually dozed off. He gives your knuckles a gentle kiss and smiles.
“Sleep well.” He leaves a bottle of water and some medicine in case you get a hangover the next day on your bedside table.
.
You wake up the next day to a single text from Vox.
VOX: We need to talk about last night. Meet me in the security room when you’re not hungover
You suddenly don’t feel your pounding headache as soon as the words register in your mind. You don’t remember anything after your 6th shot.
Me: what happened? VOX: :)
“I’m never fucking drinking ever again.”

Hi val! Got a request, it's okay if you don't wanna write it, but can you write about peter telling the reader he's going on a huge mission and he's excited about it but the reader is so worried they end up arguing? But when peter gets back from mission all bruised, the reader is still upset but dresses his wound anyway and it ends up with fluff??

“we’re staying in this, like, super fancy castle while we’re there. it’s gonna be awesome,” peter rambles to you. he takes all the clean shirts in his drawer and throws them into a suitcase.
he’s packing for a mission in europe with the avengers, and you’re here to say goodbye. you’ve been pretty quiet while peter gives you as many details as he’s allowed to. it’s always an honor when the team invites him on. he gets so stoked about it. you’re happy he’s happy and gets to pursue his passion, but you’ve noticed a pattern.
every time peter leaves the country with earth’s mightiest heroes, he comes back in worse condition than the last. it seems like they protect everyone except peter. he’s oblivious to the fact that the end result is always his suffering. he’s just glad to be there. really, he gets nothing in return except scars that never heal, not even a permanent spot on the team.
so, you’re not thrilled he agreed to go.
“plus, i get to miss two weeks of school.” peter beams, getting onto his knees to zip the suitcase. “feels like a vacation almost.” “you like school, though,” you remind him. you’re sat at the edge of his bed while you watch, rather than help. he hops up again with a shrug. “i like vacations more.” “it’s not a vacation,” you mutter to yourself, then speak up.
“how are you gonna catch up? that’s a lot of missing assignments.” with that same innocent smile, peter walks over to you. he grabs both your hands and laces your fingers together. “i’m a fast learner. besides, ned said he’d help me.” you sigh, looking down at the floor so you don’t have to look at peter. “or, you could. make it into a little study date when i get back,” he suggests while playing with your fingers.
“i don’t even want you to go,” you finally admit and meet his sparkling eyes. nothing could ever dull them. “why not? you’re gonna miss me?” peter teases, pressing a couple of kisses to your palm. “you don’t have to. i’m pretty sure france has wifi.” he wiggles his eyebrows. “oui oui, mademoiselle, eh?” despite yourself, you giggle at his french accent and tug on his hands. he sits down next to you with a chuckle.
“nat has been giving me lessons,” peter explains, you quirking an eyebrow. “she speaks french?” “she speaks a lot of languages, actually. she’s so cool.” peter scoots closer to you and sets his hands on your waist, his voice dropping. “you’d love her.” your face twists up in confusion at the idea.
you don’t have anything against the avengers, obviously. they’re good people. you’re just not the biggest fan of them at the moment, considering the circumstances they’ve put peter under.
“peter, i don’t want you to go,” you repeat more seriously than before. your teeth sink into your lower lip. “and, it’s not because i’ll miss you.” “none taken,” peter jokes, implying there should’ve been a no offense. he then realizes how distressed you look, so he cuts it out. “sorry, sorry. i’m done now. how come?”
you take his hand again and hold it tight. “what if you get hurt?” you ask in the nicest way possible, out of care. “i don’t wanna see you hurting, pete. this mission sounds really... dangerous.” he runs his thumb over the back of your hand, his grin faltering a bit. “it is, but i’m ready for it. i’ll be fine.”
you’re not convinced yet. that line he likes to overuse isn’t enough to do the trick.
his eyes searching for yours, peter brushes a piece of your hair back. “have a little faith in me, babe.” “no, i... i do. i have the most faith in you, peter.” you find yourself frowning as he twirls your locks around his finger. “that’s not the problem.” peter’s voice becomes a whisper. “what is it, then? talk to me.”
you do the opposite because you’re afraid you’ll upset him further, which is the last thing he needs right now. your silence prompts peter to fill it. “would it make you feel better if i say mr. stark is keeping an eye on me?” he’s smiling sheepishly, you scoffing. “oh, like he kept an eye on you in amsterdam?”
the only eye related activity that happened there was peter almost losing one of his. he’d come back with an eyepatch and couldn’t see out of it for over a month. to this day, there’s still a bit of blood in it when you look close enough.
“i already told you, that was my fault,” peter grumbles, turning so he faces forward. “i didn’t listen to him-“ “who gives a shit? he’s the one who put you in that situation!” you blurt out. you’ve been way too patient this whole time, and now you’re reaching your breaking point. “you say that like i didn’t wanna be there.” peter clenches his jaw, still mostly calm.
“either way, mr. stark,” you mock what peter always calls him, “was supposed to keep you safe, and he didn’t. i’m scared it’s gonna happen again.” letting out a noise close to a growl, peter stands up from the bed. “you’re not listening to me, y/n. everything was fine. i just-“ you’re not in the mood to hear him make excuses, so you interrupt.
“do you know any other sixteen year olds who fight literal terrorists on their free time?” you rhetorically ask and get to your own feet. peter tries to walk away from you, only you follow him. “you’re a kid, peter, in case you forgot.” he spins around to give you a nasty look. “do you know any other sixteen year olds who stick to fucking walls?”
your heart starts to race from his sudden outburst. he’s scary when he’s mad, and he almost never gets mad at you. all you can do is blink dumbly. “didn’t think so,” peter spits. “this is what i’m supposed to do, help people. is that so wrong?” his breathing becomes ragged as his anger grows.
“what about you? are you helping yourself?” you speak softly, expecting an answer this time. “you’re not my fucking therapist, y/n,” he deflects the question. “i am your girlfriend, though. i care about you so much, you know that.” eyebrows furrowed in concern, you reach out for peter. he takes a step back. it doesn’t take long for tears to cloud your vision.
“i was excited to share this with you, and i thought you’d be happy for me.” peter balls his hands into fists at his sides. his voice stays low. “instead, you made it all about yourself. you can never let me enjoy team stuff.” you’re speechless, peter nodding as he lets his words sit. “thanks for the support.”
“you’re an asshole,” you laugh out bitterly and wipe under your eyes.
he didn’t mean to make you cry. he was so caught up in himself, he didn’t realize you were.
peter’s whole demeanor changes. “y/n, baby...” he attempts to put a hand on your cheek, but you hit it away. “get off of me. what did i just say?” you sniffle, your tone harsh in contrast. “you’re an asshole, peter.” he changes his mind about feeling bad. you’ve berated him way more than he did you, anyway.
“you should go. i have to be up early,” peter decides, even though he’d said you could stay the night. whatever, you don’t want to anymore. “fine,” you agree shortly. “i’m leaving.” he stands there while you collect your things, shoving them into your bag. you’re going slow enough so he has a chance to stop you. he doesn’t.
you pass by him on your way to his door, sucking in a breath. here’s your official goodbye. “see you later, peter. don’t die.” “mhm, i won’t,” he replies, his tongue poking at his cheek. with one more shared look between you two, you make your grand exit, no doubt informing may of her nephew’s behavior before you’re gone.
peter immediately regrets the way he talked to you, and that you’re leaving things like this. you were only trying to protect him. you’ll never be able to save the city like he does, so this is how you do it. he truly is an asshole for not seeing that.
frustration consuming him, peter kicks over his fully stuffed suitcase, its contents spilling out. he grits his teeth.
“fan-fucking-tastic.”
-
you don’t talk to peter the whole two weeks he’s gone except for some are you alive and yes texts. he’d called you quite a few times, and was sent to voicemail for all of them. he gave you the benefit of the doubt because of timezones.
it was actually because you declined, which peter knew deep down was the real reason.
he’s coming home from his mission today. you’re not sure when or if he plans on dropping by. you’re not sure you’d like him to, either. you don’t really get a choice in the end.
there’s a series of knocks at your window, at some ungodly time in the night. you’re all too familiar with this routine. it’s peter.
you slip out from under your covers, a scowl already painting your face as you go to the window. surely enough, peter is perched in front of it, clad in red and black. the suit must be new because you’ve never seen it. you push up the window and step aside so he can get through.
“thanks,” peter mumbles, climbing into your room less gracefully than usual. he’s sort of wobbly when he lands. “yeah,” you dully acknowledge. “how was france?” “uh, good. you know, lots of cheese and all that.” his voice is muffled from his mask, since he hasn’t taken it off yet. that’s odd. “i was talking about the mission, but cool,” you almost laugh back.
“the mission was... fine,” peter clarifies and scratches the back of his neck. he never describes something as simply being ‘fine.’ when the boy talks, he lectures. you’re starting to get worried. “that’s good. at least you didn’t die, right?” you say to lighten the mood. peter awkwardly chuckles. “haha, yeah. thank god for that.”
you hum and walk over to sit on your bed, peter staying where he is. “what time did you get back?” you wonder, a completely harmless question. “um, this morning,” he says in response, raising your suspicions. “why’re you still in the suit, then?” you squint at him. “i like it, by the way.” “thanks, y/n/n. i, uh,” peter trails off, no good explanations coming to mind.
you’re quickly developing a hunch for what what down. you wordlessly get up again, meeting peter by your window. he’s nervous to see what happens next. peter’s shoulders slump when your fingers land on his mask. you carefully lift it, revealing his face to you. his banged up, bloody face.
“surprise.” peter musters up a grin, you tossing the mask at his chest. you’re beyond angry now. it’s not at him, athough it is at his injuries. “please don’t be mad,” he nearly begs, you shaking your head. you go to leave your room for some space. peter’s fingers wrap around your wrist, pulling you back. “i should’ve listened to you, okay? i’m sorry,” he genuinely apologizes.
you still don’t say anything while you look over his beaten body. there’s a gash with stitches in it on his chin, a deep slice across the bridge of his nose, cuts littering his cheeks. he’s even got a busted lip for good measure. this might be the worst condition he’s let you see him in.
“you were right, y/n. i think... i think i’m gonna sit the next one out. it’s too much for me, clearly,” peter continues, fingers sliding down to lock with yours. “you should say you told me so.” “how... how did this happen?” you manage to get out instead. “the bad guy fought me,” he says with the hint of a smirk. “i won, though.”
it’s a relief that he’s handling this so well, even earning a laugh from you. that puts you more at ease.
“this is probably a dumb question, but are you okay?” you brush your thumb over peter’s cheekbone gently, avoiding his scratches. “not really. my face hurts a lot, and flash is gonna tease the hell out of me on monday.” his lips form a line, arms looping around your waist. it’s very much welcomed by you.
“you just spent two weeks trying not to die, and you’re worried about flash?” you snicker and draw a heart on his skin. peter shrugs a shoulder. “he’s so mean to me.” he brings you in closer to him. “besides, this is the normal kid stuff i should be focusing on.” you’re glad he finally came to terms with that. you’ve been saying it for the longest time.
you smile wickedly at him. “exactly. so is all that homework you have to make up.” peter lets out a breathy laugh, you laying your head on his chest. “i missed you,” he tells you quietly. “really wish i could kiss you right now.” “i missed you too, pete. so much,” you murmur into him. your hands settle on his biceps. “and, i forgive you.” “thanks, baby,” peter exhales.
“of course. once your lips are healed,” you pull back from his chest, making a kissing noise. “pucker up, lover- oh my god.” you’re looking up at him with wild eyes. peter gets reasonably startled from it. “what? what’s wrong?” “you... you’re bleeding!” you point at his stitches. he winces, touching the spot. there’s blood, alright.
“crap. do you have a bandaid or something?” peter gives you an apologetic smile. “mr. stark said i should cover them when this happens.” maybe, tony isn’t so bad after all. you nod and take him by his hand. “yeah, in the bathroom. come with me.”
peter sits on the edge of your bathtub while you patch up his chin. he tells you more about the fun parts of his mission, you placing the cinderella bandaid over his gash. you have those from a while ago and also regular ones. however, he preferred the princess design.
“you saw the real mona lisa? like, in person? that’s insane.” you grin, smoothing down peter’s bandaid one last time. “yeah, she’s even prettier up close.” peter returns the smile. “thanks for taking care of me, y/n. i swear i don’t deserve you sometimes.” now pouting at him, you crouch down so you’re at his level. “it’s the other way around, peter.”
“let’s just agree to disagree,” he concludes and tucks a stray hair behind your ear. “i love you, okay?” “i love you, too.” you press a light kiss to his bandaid, getting a giggle from peter.
yeah, it’s going to be hell finding replacements for his lips.

Out of all of the pokemon you have taken care of, which one do you think it was the hardest to deal with? Be cuz they were in a pretty bad shape, or just personality wise?
We get rumbunctious and rowdy Pokemon all the time, our works nature brings them to us probably more than any other issue, outside of grass Pokemon care and management. Anger and nervousness is something we have a good hold of here, and try to help iron out of various species. I do a lot of that work, and on occasion, Grey will do the odd water type with these problems, as I tend to shy away from those. For the most part, they are short stint stays, a couple months, to a couple years helping them to rewire their anger into a more productive feeling or energy. That being said, there’s alwasy the odd Pokemon who comes our way who’s just a step above the rest. So here’s some stories of the ones who have had to stay with us, for their temperament and behaviour.
On the north side of the island, we house the biggest, meanest Pokemon, and the individuals who are very timid and nervous around people. We do this to ensure they have space to live undisturbed in peace, but also to protect guests and visitors from being eaten, crushed, blasted, or otherwise harmed. Some of the northern residents are difficult yes, but most are just stroppy or uncomfortable with the majority of humans, but there are a handful that are actively engaged in harming or hunting people.
One such Pokemon is a rather nasty tempered Drampa, he came to us about five or so years ago now, kindly donated by being abandoned on our shores, it’s original trainer leaving the ball and hopping on a boat without alerting us, or letting the individual know. We figured it would be possible to rehome it, they’re usually a rather reasonable Pokemon to handle, considering their typing. We were wrong. This Pokemon when let out of the ball, went on a monsterous rampage for four days, destroying forests, toppling buildings, blasting holes in the mountain to try to burrow away, and picking fights with anything it’s size or bigger, often causing great harm to others. The island didn’t rest for that entire time, most Pokemon cowering from it, bigger species trying to halt them, all in vain. It took an entire troop of grass Pokemon using sleep powder to knock it out, the Drampa moved about so fast, one single grass type didn’t stand a chance to produce enough spores in time. It took a lot of work but we knocked the old boy out, and got a good look at him. His body was riddled with arthritis, not medicated, he would thrash about and cause himself so much pain and discomfort. He had overgrown nails, the feet hidden in the fur they have around their torso, often overlooked, and it’s ability to fly was limited because of its general condition and state. We began helping it, medicating it’s aislments, aiding it’s inflamed joints, but it never really calmed down, so now it chills out alone on the coast of the north side, left well alone, it doesn’t even like the company of other Pokemon.
We’ve done our best to interact with it, to socialise it, to generally get it use to people enough to do medical checks, but it’s still very resistant. We have decided that after two years of hard work, and it being tolerant to me, at least to check it’s health and wellbeing, that it’s best to let it live it’s life unbothered. Many would push a Pokemon to be a perfect social being, but we don’t believe it’s necessary for happiness. Some species are happy to be away from others, I wouldn’t push a human to be social, I know how awful that can be, so we didn’t force the individual to be around others either. It’s not that it’s unhappy, we spot it from time to time sitting on the rocks by the ocean, humming to itself, and the small pidgey and tailow that come by don’t bother it, and even give mild brief conversation. He seems ok, the medicine given means he’s in less pain, despite still having stiffness, and in the winter we’ve built him a unique space, rocky cover much like a cave, just above a Macargo hide where they lay eggs. The heat from those Pokemon keep its cave very hot, and help in the cold to ease the joint aches. The two species have different entrances, making sure they never meet within the hide at any point. There’s a good slab of rock dividing them, so it’s not an issue, and saves us having to pipe hot water over that far for him. He eats well, has a few items he’s kept from the labs, a toy sentret, and a large red ball, and generally is in a good place to live out his life in peace now.
Another difficult member would be a particularly timid Slazzle, gifted to us by a police member who had confiscated it from a rather mean individual close to her home town, they had been hurting the poor Pokemon, forcing it to produce an insane amount of poison liquid, throwing water on the poor thing every time it tried to ignite to retaliate, generally abusing the poor thing for its life, apparently it had been locked away since it was a young unevolved Pokemon. They’d been harvesting the poisons from the Slazzle and dropping it into various water sources to try to control the local Pokemon population, as they blamed the wild ones for the state of their land, and diminished crops yield from their allotment. Jokes on them, that water poisoning affected them too, and their garden died very quickly, and made the man quite sick through consumption of the crops he grew there. The slazzle is still very skittish, will hide at any given moment, we’ve seen her ignite an entire building in one move, and then bolt away through the flames to lose our line of sight. She managed to stay hidden for two weeks on the island, before we caught sight of her again. Generally she’s just a case fo neglect but we have been working with her now for a long while, 3 ish years, and her temperament is at least manageable amongst our staff. We have found her others of her kind to help her settle, and she’s become good friends with a Wartortle who came from the same area, they bond over memories of the place, and seem very happy in each others company.
We’ve found ways to keep her grounded, but she never goes near people when we have open days, slinks off through the big fence to the north side, and waits out the visiting hours until night. They’re not usually nocturnal but she likes the night, and spends her time looking about, foraging and feeding in the later hours. If you’re quiet you can catch her moving around the forests and the base of the mountains here, talking with the occasional individual, she seems to enjoy Murkrow too, their company seems to keep her quite social, as they usually move in large flocks here. She may never be rehomed, but for now we try to socialise her, we don’t battle her, and she has a very calm and peaceful nook to go to when she’s having a rough time. We make sure to provide support where possible, and though she’s a little skittish she’s somewhat happy to have myself and Grey, even Pari take a look at any wounds or scrapes she may gain while living here. She’s become trusting enough to come to us if we call, and who knows, maybe someone will come our way who she takes an interest in. There’s hope for her yet, we have however become quite fond of her, and she’s part of the furniture now. It may end up that she never leaves, and lives her life in peace here, surrounded by people and Pokemon who love her. Her panic makes her very difficult to pass to another trainer, and she’s prone to spitting up huge quantities of toxic liquid when spooked, and bolts at a slight bang or rumble.
One I have kept back for a number of reasons, is a rather mean tempered Aerodactyl. Normally we get Pokemon sent to us, but this one I ended up finding myself, some circus had her chained up in a box hardly big enough to turn around in, an attraction to the masses as they travelled through the area. The leader of that troop was particularly awful, treating Pokemon as commodities, items to be bought and sold, used as toys in his big performances. Boiled my blood. We called her Zeplin, and after 12 years she has still got a nasty temper on her, when not focused on a task. Her condition when we first found her was quite something, tattered wings, unable to fly straight at all, and she was littered with cuts and bruises, not in good health. Val has melted the chains that bound her, and the lock in her cage, and she just went, like a bat out of hell, flew off, blasting the tent that hid her quarters, burning a lot of the circus as she went. Little did I know, my foot was in one of the chain links, and I got dragged off with her, the ground, Val, all my other team mates, falling from my pocket, or being left on the floor where we had once been standing. She flew, and kept going, not aware I was still attached, you could see her wings were having a hard time catching the breeze, littered with holes and tears, she went for about two hours, I nearly froze that high up, trying to get a good grip on what chain was left so I didn’t come falling from that height. We came to a very sudden crash landing, she hadn’t had much chance to practice the whole take off - land thing from the feel of it, we both ate dirt, and she became very aware that I was there all of a sudden.
I had about three seconds while she assessed my presence, to get out of the chain, and dive behind a rock that gave me cover from an almighty blast of energy, chipping away bits, catching my arm a little. Trust me when I say, it’s terrifying coming face to face with something that stands a fair few meters taller than you, with more teeth and claws than you’re comfortable with dealing with, with none of your Pokemon, no weaponry, no real plan or cover other than a rock. How she didn’t eat me, I don’t know. Perhaps she knew it was me that let her go, maybe she just ran out of energy, but for whatever reason, she made a few bits and tail lashes at me, missed the lot, and gave up, turning to stomp off into the forests around us. She was still shackled with heavy irons, one on the neck, two on the legs, and was in serious condition, so I did the stupid thing and followed her, tried to sneak my way behind, though every now and then she would look towards me, and try to focus on my form in the dark of night now. It was a few days, she had stalked some prey, fed, and was starting to ooze from some wounds. Though the circus was unkind, they were providing her with medication that stopped further infections occurring, perhaps a scarred beast of great size drew more punters, maybe they were just making sure she survived to make them money, I still don’t know.
I hunted herbs, dug out roots with rocks, used river water, and common berries and managed to fashion some kind of salve, nothing amazing, especially back at that age, but it would work, I knew it would because I used it on my own wounds first. Just had to convince her it was a good thing to let me get close. Not an easy task. We physically brawled, she was clearly spent, not able to use any attacks, just thrashing about, I managed to trip her with the chains still attached to her legs, and once downed, you can jump on the head of these Pokemon to keep the jaws shut, just long enough to lather the wounds you can reach, then bolt fast. It was a small act, but she took off running again. With some wounds sort of cared for, I followed again, fishing for dinner, forraging roots to chew on. It wasn’t much but it kept me going, then one night, where I had climbed to a crook of a large tree, using my jacket to tie myself in for a nights sleep, I was awoken by loud rustling, thudding of feet, and a mighty huff.
Below where I sat, the Pokemon had returned, being no doubt well aware of my presence, following the smell of human, she had noticed the salve do a good job on the wounds I managed to reach, but the ones I couldn’t get near had become far worse, red, inflamed and weeping terribly, no doubt hurting and itching. I’d seen her rubbing her sides in the day, itching gasinst rocks and trees, smearing blood and ooze along her path as she trudged. So here we were, alone in the woods, I veeeeery carefully climbed down, staying in cover as much as possible, and over the space of an hour or two, she let me come out into the open, teeth bared yeah, but she hadn’t attacked, and other than a very uncomfortable, low growl, she allowed me to creep closer, some more of that salve made more for my own wounds than hers, being sniffed at, she licked it too, but wasn’t happy with the taste, very bitter, and I was cautiously optimistic, allowed to help her heal the rest of the cuts she had acquired from her old home. So we began our....I want to say friendship but that wasn’t it, it was a collaboration to survive.
We had landed somewhere far from others, I missed my team, and she had never experienced anything outside of the cage, and so we banded together, tentatively. We caught dinner as a team, and climbed for fruits, foraged for berries, reapplying what loose form of medicine I managed to make, before coming to some kind of comfortable companionship together. A week passed, wandering without a clue where we were, before a path was found, she seemed to want to avoid it, and while I wasn’t keen on people much either, it was impossible not to want to find my team again. They needed me, and I needed them. If they had been found, a police officer or the likes may have sent them to my original professor, waiting to be called from the PC system again, but knowing Val, she had grabbed the balls, my things, and bolted to hide, waiting for my return. In desperation I tried to explain this to the Aerodactyl, who had not experienced a trainers care before, and seemed reluctant to return.
It was only upon mentioning revenge, to burn the circus to the ground, that I regained her attention, and we came to a slow agreement to get aid, gather items, and return to where she had been released from. She waited in the forest while I went to town, checking my PC space to see if my team had been handed in, which they had! It was lucky, I was reunited with Val (vulpix), Booker (teddiursa), and Potato (bulbasaur) who I took back, and returned to the woods with.
We had to get some revenge, and in turn we devised a plan to free the Pokemon first, sneak in and pick the locks, melt the chains and gates, and then finally, let the aerodactyl do her thing once the vulnerable individuals were loose. I did my best to hold back my own personal rage, and simply aid the demise of a group who were awful towards Pokemon through this one big flying type. I wint go into details but no one perished in the fire, they were arrested and charged for unsafe work conditions, and abuse towards Pokemon, not to mention false advertising, having no worker’s Compensation in pace for injury, which many staff complained of, and several incidents of sexual harassment in the work place that were brought to light.
Once one started to talk, the others all joined in, and the fire was put down to unsafe working conditions and a lack of health and safety. From what I heard, the whole circus worth of Pokemon were rehomed, helped and generally lived much better lives after that. However now we had one very mistrusting angry Aerodactyl on our hands, a Pokemon I had not worked with before, who had seemingly become quite tolerant of me, but would snap at just about anyone who clocked eyes with her. So I kind of just kept her, no ball, not for a fair few years, we both didn’t think it was important. She was nursed back to health, and we had to go through a lot of training together, she bit booker once quite badly, but we’ve all put that in the past, and have worked on it together.
She is still testing, she won’t be ridden by anyone else, she doesn’t care for other Pokemon much, crowds will spook her, she doesn’t like when people talk with raised voices or hostile tones, and gets real irritable if you come at her in any kind of way that isn’t open handed, calm and slowly. She’s now a very capable flier, wings healed up, spending her first half of life locked up made her long for the open sky, so now we take time together to go off and ride winds when work is slow, and she’s helped in many ways to make the island functional, by moving logs, clearing paths, helping lift building materials around, and generally being there for me when I’m full of rage, which is actually annoyingly often. We’re anger buddies hah, kind of get on the same level with it. She’s become so much part of my family, and I feel like i’m part of hers now too, so I doubt she’d be rehomed, but should she find somewhere she would rather be, we wouldn’t stop her going. She is difficult, angry, snappy, tempermental, difficult, won’t be touched by strangers, likes to fight, but I’d not change her, she’s our testing monster, who we love and adore.
Went off a bit, but I figured why not, I know her, and can write more about her life and story than the others.

Trade deal
Rex: what's he doing here?!
Kiryu: good to see you too.
4 masters from 4 different universes had met up in a singularity. This had been planned for some time, but it seems Rex was not made aware of the whole picture.
Val: he's here because you two clearly need some form of closure after the first time you two met.
Faye: yeah, you've been paranoid to all hell ever since you two first met up. We had hoped you two coming together again to work things out would help you with that.
Rex: well I'd love to know why the hell he just attacked us out right like that in the first place!?!
Rex's anger was apparent. Even his newer abilities were showing, long dark colored tendrils waving about.
Kiryu: that's new...
Rex: oh it's new alright! Would you like a demonstration!?
He says as he shape-shifts his arms into blades.
Kiryu: Bunyan!
The other master calls for his gargantuan servant for assistance.
Bunyan: right here master!
???: stop right there!
Bunyan: huh?!
It seemed to counter his servant, Rex called upon his own giant: Kingprotea.
Protea: don't even try it!
Kiryu: really?!
Rex: I always bring back up now! Ever since your stupid lil stunt!
Val: so literally being able to filet him without a servant wasn't enough?!
Rex: no! It isn't!
Faye: both of you knock it off! This is the exact opposite of what we wanted!
Rex: him first!
Kiryu: you promise to put the blades away if I do?
Rex: let's wait and see on that shall we?!
Val: stand down we said!
Kiryu: Bunyan! That's enough!
Bunyan: ok master!
Rex: ...
Faye: Rex!
Rex: stand down protea...
Protea: ok master!
The four sat down, only Kiryu and Rex brought their servants. Bunyan shrank back down to join the group. Tho Protea was unable to, so she had to sit down behind Rex like in chaldea. Quetzalcoatl was with Rex like always.
Val: like we said at the beginning. We're hoping you two can get some form of closure from before.
Faye: and since he started the fighting, Kiryu should apologize first.
Kiryu: I dunno if I want to...
Val: really!? You starting it like that is why we're in this situation dumbass!
Faye: just apologize! It's not that difficult!
Kiryu: *sigh* I'm sorry I nearly took out you and your goddess. I shouldn't have been so brazen at the beginning.
Val: now Rex, your turn.
Rex: ...
Faye: Rex...
Rex: I'm sorry for nearly killing you just then.
Val: good! Progress is being made.
Faye: it's a good start. Now let's just talk a bit for a while. Maybe you two can find common ground.
Rex: doubt it...
Quetz: mi amor... you really should at least try...
Rex: *sigh* fine.
Quetzalcoatl was still annoyed at Kiryu for what he did, but she knew that closure was needed and that hopefully Rex would slow down with the paranoia after this.
The four groups talked for a bit. Just like many other meetups they discussed how things went in their respective journeys against first Goetia, then the Alien God. They also discussed the various events that took place in between lostbelts and singularities. But unfortunately, it seemed Kiryu did not consider just how offensive his actions during the most recent x-mas event would be to Rex.
Rex: YOU DID WHAT!?
Rex filled with rage, slammed Kiryu to the ground with his tendrils. And in sync, Protea pinned down Bunyan just as she started to grow.
Val: Rex! Stop!
Kiryu: I should've seen that coming... but don't think Bunyan is the only servant I brought!
???: uh master...
Kiryu: huh?!
Not far off, Sakata could be seen, but he was being held back by berserker Lancelot.
Sakata: he just caught me by surprise!
Kiryu: you really are paranoid.
Rex: like I said before, I always bring backup!
Faye: Rex! You need to stop this! I understand where you're coming from, but you don't need to do this!
Rex: he went too far!
Kiryu: hey! I need to support my daughter!
Rex: a parent shouldn't blindly support their child in every decision they make! She was manipulated by Edison and because of that he manipulated you too! You need to correct her when she makes a mistake! So she doesn't do it again!
Kiryu: ok, you've made your point!
It was clear Kiryu didn't like being lectured by Rex.
Val: please just let him go!
Quetz grabbed onto Rex from behind, wanting him to stop.
Quetz: mi amor! You shouldn't be doing this!
Rex: he insulted you by switching sides!
Kiryu: you know all these precautions... haven't you gotten a bit too paranoid?
Rex: like you can say anything about that!
Kiryu: ok, I understand it's partially my fault. I'm sorry! But it seems you've put so much focus on all this... how are your other servants?
Rex: what's it matter!?
Kiryu: I just wonder how you've been treating them in this unfortunate state of mind.
Val: Kiryu! Priorities!
Kiryu: it's a valid question!
Quetz: mi amor... he has a point. Some of the others have been a bit... neglected.
Kiryu: I knew it!
Rex: ...
Rex let Kiryu go.
Kiryu, getting back up: I'd especially love to know how your Bunyan's doing?
Rex: she's fine enough...
Kiryu: anything less then gold isn't enough to me.
Rex: I only use grails for mi diosa...
Kiryu: ...then let me have her...
Rex: ...what?
Kiryu: your Bunyan, lemme have her.
Rex: why should I do that!?
Kiryu: someone needs to put her to good use.
Rex: ...then hand over your Quetzalcoatl...
Faye: ...again Rex?
Rex: out of fairness of course!
Kiryu: ...fine.
After some time, both Kiryu's Quetz and Rex's Bunyan were brought in.
Rex: I'm sorry I've been neglecting you Bunyan, but I've found a better master for you.
Rex's Bunyan: ...ok master...
Before the trade, Kiryu needed to say some things to his Quetzalcoatl.
Kiryu: listen... I fucked up!
Kiryu's Quetz: what do you mean master?
Kiryu: I was a bit too brazen when I first met this dude and started a fight before I had all the info, that along with another incident has made this other guy too paranoid. We've agreed to trade but I want you to help him get over it.
Kiryu's Quetz: how can I be of help if his own Quetzalcoatl can't?
Kiryu: I don't think it's that she can't but... it may be that his mind's a bit foggy at the moment. Just... get him down the right path. I don't know how long this'll last... hell, might be forever as far as we're concerned but still... give him a hand while you're with him.
Kiryu's Quetz: what about you master? Will you be alright?
Kiryu: hey, I got Ivan and Martha to cover for ya! And another berserker to level up too!
Kiryu's Quetz: ...ok. I'll try to help him!
Kiryu: awesome!
The two switched contracts, and the trade was officially complete.
After that, Rex was finished and wanted to leave.
Rex: are we done here?
Faye: I'm not sure if this is exactly what we wanted...
Val: it's progress atleast!
Kiryu: Mata ne Quetzalcoatl no ryu
Rex: ...adios... papa de Bunyan...
And after that... it was over.
A/N: Another Quetzalcoatl with Rex. I had this story idea for a but when remembering what happened with Kiryu in the Quetzmas event but it's changed considerably after talking with @haspaulbunyandoneanythingwrong so now we have new Quetz trying to help with his paranoia. Not sure what to call her yet to differentiate but I'll think of something soon...

Prologue Incident - Bit 1 | Bit 2 Fallout - Bit 1 | Bit 2 | Bit 3 Voyage - Bit 1 | Bit 2
As I continue to write the Prologue, have a little Lee Taylor and Jeff with some Johnny and Scott on the side.
As always, many, many thanks to @tsarinatorment @scribbles97 and @janetm74 for the ongoing support, as well as my technical advisor @onereyofstarlight for the geek out fest on the weekend ::hugs you all::
I hope you enjoy this. I’m certainly enjoying the challenge :D
-o-o-o-
Jeff stared after his son for a long moment. Emotion swirled in his head and tangled with his stomach. That lightspeed jump did mess with his innards more than he would admit.
But Virgil’s words messed him up even more.
What weren’t they telling him? What had happened to Scott while he was gone?
He had read a good percentage of the mission reports and backtracked through Tracy Industries’ history over that eight years. Scott’s conduct was exemplary. He couldn’t be prouder. Both organisations had flourished under his sons’ management, Scott being the major driving force, but his younger sons stepping in where needed.
Hell, even Gordon had dabbled in aquaculture and Tracy Industries was now a major player on that front.
Something soured in his gut that had nothing to do with lightspeed travel. Perhaps he needed to be a little more honest with himself. Maybe things had gone so well, that in truth, his return wasn’t really needed.
Scott was brilliant, his brothers…hell, Jeff was ever so proud. His sons were everything. They had accomplished so much.
But what did that leave for Jeff?
He cursed under his breath, disgusted with himself. His natural competitive tendencies did not need to be deployed against his own children.
But that vacant feeling of loss and lack of purpose swelled. He hadn’t even thought about not going on this mission. He had grabbed it like a lifeline and now, somehow, he had managed to alienate those brilliant young sons and caused pain and worry where he had no intention.
“Jeff? Where the hell are you?”
Lee.
Despite himself, Jeff smiled.
Pushing off from the bed, he floated through the door and into the corridor. Lee was expertly manoeuvring down one wall, his experience showing in every movement. “I have to say that this baby of yours definitely hits the spot. I’ll have two for the Mars colony, please.”
Jeff snorted. “Get in line. The GDF are already on my back.”
Lee pulled up alongside. “You gonna give them one?”
“I doubt it.” He sighed. “Val is ready to vouch, but from what I’ve read from the last eight years…I don’t think they can be trusted.”
“Then what are you going to do?” They drifted down the corridor towards the mess. “This technology is a great step forward.”
“Yeah. So much power, Lee. I’ve worried about the Thunderbirds getting into the wrong hands. This….hell…Brains and Michael make a formidable team.”
“Your boys make a formidable team, Jeff. You should be proud.”
“I am.”
Lee pulled him to a halt with a hand. “Then what the hell are you doing out here, Jeff? Gerry had me on the pipeline frantic.”
Jeff blinked. “Gerry?”
“The swimming one.”
“Oh, Gordon?”
Lee waved a hand dismissively. “Yeah, whatever. But he was upset. Said you were trying to kill yourself.”
“What?!”
“Said your health wasn’t up to a long space flight. I know you know better than that, Colonel.” Blue eyes pinned him.
Oh, for the love of-
“I’m fine, Lee.”
“Bullshit. You may not be using that cane of yours, but I saw your medical charts when you got back. You fried your bones good, and your circulation has seen better days. Don’t think I’m an idiot. Gerry may be the excitable one, but he’s not dumb. Hell, even I can see Vinnie and Steve ain’t happy either.”
Jeff stared at him, caught between outrage that his best friend still couldn’t remember his sons’ names and the thought that Lee was also ganging up on him along with those sons.
“I am perfectly capable of handling this voyage. It is short. It is safe.”
Lee snorted with derision. “I know you know that there is nothing ‘safe’ about any space voyage, Jeff. Hell, you’re the one who taught me that. What are you playing at?”
That got his back up. “What am I playing at? Berry and Ju are missing, Lee.”
“Don’t you trust your boys?”
“I trust them!”
“Then let them do their jobs. You’ve done enough.”
Jeff glared at him. “I don’t see you retiring your space legs.”
“I didn’t go missing for eight years and fry my bones. You don’t have to do this. Your boys will find Berry and Ju. I’ve seen them in action. You should trust them.”
Jeff’s shoulders dropped. “I do.” It was an exhale. But... “Lee, I have to. I can’t sit on the sidelines anymore.”
Blue eyes stared at him, appraising. They weren’t unlike his eldest son’s eyes and probably shared the gene through Lucille.
The thought of his wife clenched his heart like it always did. Lee didn’t look much like his sister, but there were traces.
“Well, you’ve argued your ass out here. Looks like you’ve pissed half your family off in the process. I’d tread carefully. That eldest of yours looks ready to chew iron.”
Jeff grunted.
Lee reached out and grabbed an arm. “They’re good boys.” A swallow. “Lucy would be very, very proud.”
It was targeted and it hit perfectly. His throat tightened just a little. “I know.”
No more than breath. “I know.”
-o-o-o-
“I want to know why.”
John looked up from his tablet to see Scott floating in the doorway.
The astronaut knew this was coming. Hence his retreat to Thunderbird Five for a ‘systems check’.
“Because Dad needs this.” He turned back to his tablet, poked the device and shut down the scan he was running.
Scott pushed off the door frame and pivoted to a vertical stance - as a commanding posture as he could get in zero-g.
John raised an eyebrow, but didn’t comment, forcing himself to relax in his partially seated position. He knew his brother was unhappy with him and he understood why. So, the question was a pertinent one.
“Dad does not need more illness and that is exactly where this is leading.”
“We won’t be out here that long.”
“How do you know? We don’t know what has happened? We won’t know fully until we are on site.”
John let his brother’s ire wash over him. “Scott, what are you going to do the day they say you can no longer fly?”
Blue eyes stared at him a moment. “What has that got to do with anything?”
John’s lips thinned. “Deny it all you want, but you know exactly what I mean.” He held his brother’s glare. “Dad has been grounded for nearly two years. Put yourself in his place. How do you think you would feel?”
He could see the inner turmoil on his big brother’s face. He hated going against Scott. It didn’t happen often, but it did happen and each time it hurt because it felt so wrong. Someone had to stand up for Dad in this and John feared the day he would be in his father’s place. To not be able to go into space. To never be able to see the stars unfettered by atmosphere again…he dreaded it. Just like he knew Scott dreaded losing his wings.
It was inevitable and they would both fight it as long as they could.
Just like their father.
But understanding didn’t make it any easier from a son’s perspective either. John knew in intimate detail exactly what his father’s health issues were. He empathised with him in ways that perhaps only Alan amongst his brothers could possibly understand. If he wasn’t careful, this was his future, too. Perhaps not as severe, perhaps not quite the same, but the risks were there.
His father’s cane reminded him every time he saw it.
Scott had already changed his rota on Five, Alan standing in more often, John on solid ground enough for cursed gravity to keep his systems running as they should.
Virgil had become hypervigilant as well, medical checks increased. He had once caught Dad’s chart up on display right next to his own, Virgil’s eyes comparing symptoms, obviously worried towards preventing issues before they happened in his little brother.
It had been a taxing couple of years.
“Okay, you’ve made your point.” It was grudging. “But it doesn’t remove the fact that his health is at risk. After all he’s been through…he’s been hurt enough.”
“Him or us?”
“Excuse me?”
“We have all been through hell and back. This isn’t just about Dad, Scott. I know. I’m just as scared as you.” He was, but he was shunting it away. He couldn’t afford it. “But this is who he is. You know that. He’s not going to wrap himself in a blanket, sit in a chair and rock his life away. If he did, he wouldn’t be Dad.” He blinked. “How do you see your twilight years? Are you going to slow down any time soon?”
“John-“
“He’s got all of us. He’s not alone out here. We’ll keep him safe.”
Blue eyes continued to stare at him, but there were no more words for a long time.
John simply stared back, calm and waiting.
“I am so angry at you.” The words slipped from his brother’s lips in frustration.
“I know.” John tilted his head just slightly. “Because you know I’m right.”
Scott got angry a lot, but he was rarely blinded by it. He couldn’t afford to be. And while Virgil tackled their big brother in his own way, John, in the few times Scott turned to him in this kind of situation, found that waiting him out with calm words usually worked. Not always, sometimes his brother just exploded more. But this time, this time John knew he was right and that Scott would understand, if he would listen.
His brother’s lips thinned, obviously with reluctance. “I want a medical monitor on him at all times. I want Five trained on him at all times.”
John arched an eyebrow, reached over and thumbed a switch. Their father’s vitals flickered into all their holographic glory. “Virgil already beat you to it. Wouldn’t let him on board without it.”
Those eyes tracked the readouts but Scott didn’t comment. “Keep an eye on him.”
John sighed and picked up his tablet again. As if he would do anything else. “Just like I do with all of you. They don’t call me the ‘Eye in the Sky’ for nothing.”
A grunt and Scott moved back towards the door. John poked at his tablet and resumed the scan he had been running. It wasn’t often humans were in this chunk of space and he planned to record everything he could.
If he was non-verbally dismissing his brother, it was on purpose. Scott needed to process and John was not needed for that.
And John had work to do before they jumped again.
He didn’t notice his brother leave.

DAI Playthrough idea
Inquisitor Lucien Flavius Trevelyan.  Ex-Circle mage, mostly content with life in the Ostwick Circle, likes the learning and academic side, does miss his parents, but no inclination to rebel until it was actually happening, at which point he ran off with the rebels because all his friends were doing it. Not religious, no real belief in Andraste whatsoever but kept quiet about it in the Circle.  Since leaving, he’s become a lot more open about his views, and found to his surprise more people than he thought shared them, and there’s enough anger at the Chantry for him to acquire a coterie of fans and fellow freethinkers.  He’s at the Conclave hoping to try and talk some sense into the Templars but it doesn’t go well.
Decisions!
Broadly pro-mage, not very pro-Chantry.  Not anti exactly, but very much not pro either and really doesn’t like the Herald of Andraste title.  Not up to speed on elven issues but the more he learns the angrier he gets at the Chantry, and he does find the culture fascinating.
Goes to Redcliffe to talk to the mages, finds out about the bargain with Tevinter, goes ‘what the actual hell have you done’ and ends up sorting that mess out.  Templars can very much sort themselves out in his mind.  He wasn’t harmed at the Circle but he saw things happen to others.  Gives the mages an alliance.  They were his friends after all.
As Inquisitor he wants to stand for order and justice rather than the faith or revenge and does his best to pick merciful, rational choices where possible. After Adamant, he keeps the Wardens as Inquisition allies, and at Val Royeaux, there’s a good chance of him getting all three parties to work together.  Failing that, he’ll keep Celene as Empress, with or without Briala at her side.  At the Well of Sorrows, Morrigan is getting the power - Lucien hears the words binding geas and goes nope, not for me kthnx.
Romances:
Awkward demisexual who preferred books and studying to anything else, Lucien’s got no romance experience but might consider it for the right person.
Cassandra: too intimidating by far!  Also twice his age.  Even if he was into intimidating older women, Cassandra has expectations of a romantic hero who will sweep her off her feet.  Lucien has no idea where to even start so... doesn’t.  Also she will not shut up about the Maker, and Lucien has spent the past two years becoming a fervent atheist and loving not having priests around any more.  He can’t pretend to be Andrastian for her sake.
Iron Bull: Bull’s stories about his sexploits make Lucien’s eyes pop out and his hair stand on end.  As far as romance goes, Lucien is fleeing in the opposite direction from this one.  They get on well enough, and Lucien’s curious about the Qun... but not curious about anything else, thank you very much.  Still, he cares enough to save Bull from the Qun.
Dorian: a possibility, and Dorian would definitely be interested, but it’s more likely these two will end up as besties rather than boyfriends.  Never say never though. Lucien's really not OK with the way Dorian's family treated him and completely sides with him over it. If Lucien was accidentally flirting with him previously, Dorian might well choose that moment to confess his feelings. Not known how Lucien would respond.
Josephine: most likely out of all of them.  Pretty, cultured, goes out of her way to make Lucien feel at ease, Lucien would likely adore her.  Also the duel scene would be way more poignant with Lucien the inexperienced mage going rapier to rapier with a master duellist for her affections.  Plus they’re both probably demi.
The rest of them:
Cullen: hasn’t got a clue what to make of this somewhat unimpressive young man but he’s who the faithful are rallying around and the only one who can close rifts so he’ll keep him alive.  Becomes steadily more impressed with Lucien over the course of things.  Lucien talks him out of going back on lyrium, having no wish to see anyone shackled by the Circle if they don’t want to be there, even Templars.
Leliana: scares the hell out of him.  “No, don’t murder people!” becomes a common refrain.  However, over time, she softens, he starts to see her less scary side, and he’s able to talk her down from murdering Sister Natalie.  On seeing the change in her after, he’s got no hesitation supporting her for Divine.
Blackwall: they get on rather well!  Lucien respects Blackwall’s experience, always appreciates a big strong fighter to hide behind, and Blackwall’s avuncular nature appeals.  Finding out the truth about him is heartbreaking but Lucien can’t help but rescue him and give him another chance to do better.
Solas: Lucien respects his skills, does rely on his advice, but there’s something a bit off there.  He doesn’t know what though.  He wants to like Solas, but something just rubs him up the wrong way.  Still, he’s a useful companion, they do get on, Solas seems to approve of Lucien’s decision-making on the whole, and Lucien loves asking him about ancient elven culture. He's less keen on the whole 'what if the Veil wasn’t here’ angle though. Solas disappearing will feel like a betrayal and really hurt.
Vivienne: nothing in common at all.  Excellent chance he never recruits her in the first place.  If he does, he spends the entire adventure regretting it.
Varric: takes Lucien under his wing from the outset and looks after him.  Lucien’s appalled by some of Varric’s wilder exploits but does laugh anyway, and the two become fast friends.  Even if Lucien does keep wanting to know how Bianca works.
Sera: they drive each other up the wall but Lucien is somehow still fond of her.  That Tempest stuff is terrifying though.
Cole: weirds Lucien out completely, but he senses the spirit’s heart is in the right place and a spirit who turned human??  Come on, that’s a paper in its own right!  Cole’s fate could go either way, but I suspect Lucien will go for the human option.
Lucien's parents: never had any other kids. They still miss and mourn him. They've been worried sick since the rebellion started and Lucien disappeared. He never wrote because there'd been no contact allowed for over a decade and it never occurred to him. But word of their son surviving the Conclave and joining the Inquisition reaches them and they put all family business in their steward's hands and go to Haven. They get there in time to find the ashes, but returning scouts, maybe even the Chargers, can tell them Lucien is not only alive but Inquisitor and take them to Skyhold. Cue tearful reunion, Lyra as quartermaster, Davidicus joining the researchers, either available as a party member if Lucien needs them.
Training specialty: none of the mage ones appeal.  Knight-Enchanter?  “No I don’t want to be up close and personal with the enemy, I want to be far away from the stabby things!”  Rift Mage: “so... the initial innovators of this field are all dead due to the magic destroying them, and the second wave of experts are all off their trolley due to magical weirdness and seeing their friends disintegrated.  Er... think I’ll give this one a miss, thank you very much.”  Necromancer:  “NO!”
In the end, he ends up studying Artificer after persuading his advisors that just because he's a mage doesn’t mean he should only study magic.  “There’s so much else to study and learn!  It can’t just be learning about magical energies and the Fade!  There’s a rest of the world to see and study!  Why should being able to do one thing make me incapable of doing anything else?”  Cue magically enhanced traps, grenades and possibly some sort of Dwemer laser-enhanced crossbow thing replacing his staff.
Trespasser Lucien is a bit more cynical and battle-hardened and the constant pain from the Mark is no joke either.  He’s honestly not surprised at Solas’s identity by the time it comes out, not as much as he should be.  Does his best to save the dragon, would like to try and save Solas from himself if possible, but isn’t that committed to the idea.  Disbands the Inquisition entirely, thinking it has served its purpose, and then returns to his parental home.  He’s reinstated as their son and heir and is soon using Trevelyan money to build himself a whole series of prosthetic arms with a variety of attachments.  Just in time for the big society wedding involving the Trevelyan heir and the Montilyet heir whose families saw a couple in love and made the wedding decision for them.  Mostly they end up living in Antiva but Lucien’s parents are regular visitors... as are the rest of their former Inquisition colleagues.

“There was an idea, Stark knows this- called the avengers club. The idea is to bring together a group of remarkable people to see if they would become something more, when needed them to fight the battles that we never cou— ”
“Is he doing it again?’’ Sam leaned over Steve and whispered drowning out what Nick is saying. Steve ignored him to listen better to Fury.
“Is he quoting that comic book again?’’ Steve knew what Sam was talking about. In more than one occasion they would enter his office and he would hurriedly put a comic book away –something about earth’s mightiest heroes or something - clear his throat and adjust his shoulders. Nick in all dark clothes, a series almost terrifying face on and a series, unreadable attitude, was a first-class nerd. Who would’ve known? Only them probably.
“So, what you want us to do; is start an anti-bullying club and help people getting bullied in school?’’ Steve recapped what Nick said a minute ago.
Well when Nick Fury: Director and head of the Academy summoned Steve, Natasha, Bucky, Sam, Tony, Pepper, Rhodey, Wanda, Pietro, Clint, Thor, Val and Bruce. He didn’t exactly explain what’s the reason, And since they all frequented his office if not every week then every day, they thought it they had again done something bad. Like maybe it had to do with Clint getting beaten up at 6am behind the school today. So obviously they would be confused that this is why Nick summoned them. Nick was getting tired of their shenanigans, especially with the council putting pressure on the academy, it being the beginning of a new school year, this idea was made in favor of making them useful and at the same time putting a leash on them. Well. It has more depth than that but he’ll get into that eventually.
‘’Tony you didn’t tell us about this. Why?’’ Pepper frowned at Tony.
‘’I honestly didn’t know he was serious.’’ Tony drawled out, narrowing his eyes, studying Nick.
‘’So, no one is going to comment on that passionate speech?’’ Sam joked.
‘’Yes, that is the idea.’’ Nick nods, ignoring the others. “I have been discussing it with The council for a while.’’
“Nick,’’ Nat begins, earning a light frown from him at the usage of his first name, “what do you want us to do exactly? Put up signs that say: ‘Don’t bully, be friends.’ Because those things are embarrassing and a waste of time.’’ She says calmly, pressing an ice pack on Clint’s bruised eye.
‘’Yeah and the council doesn’t know shit,’’ Clint says, ushering Natasha’s hand aside. His bruise shading purple now. “We don’t need an anti-bullying club.’’ He stated confidently.
Nick tilted his head and narrowed his eye; Clint could almost hear him saying ‘bullshit’, almost.
So, Clint wasn’t the smartest one in the group, or better; the safest. In translation: “reckless, thoughtless, and insanely, good at ruining your life.’’ As Nat and Steve would say.
And if ruining his life is getting his back thrashed over the wall outside the main school building in some weird ally, he -somehow- always ended up in every two weeks or so, in the same situation then he was doing pretty good at that.
‘’You know, bullying is so last year dude- ‘’ he began.
‘’Where the fuck is my jacket?’’
‘’What jacket?’’ That prompted a punch to Clint’s face. His eye throbbed.
‘’My jersey jacket, the one you stole from my party last Saturday.’’
‘’Dude, I didn’t steal your jacket.’’ Well to be fair Clint did go to the party last Saturday, and he did drink, a lot. So, he himself wasn’t sure of anything that happened that night, but what he is sure of, is that he would never steal anything, especially a jersey that belongs to the school’s top basketball athlet, Nat would kill him.
“Loki said you’d lie.’’
‘’Lok- what?’’ Clint blinked, then hissed when his eye ached. ‘’Loki Odinson? What does he have to do with this.’’ He recognizes the voice of the guy in front of him he just can’t exactly be sure, and the pain in his eyes are making it hard to concentrate, being sleep deprived and accused of stealing doesn’t help his fuzzy mind either.
“He saw you taking my jacket and leave,’’ He gritted, Looming over Clint.
“And you believed him? Loki? You believed Loki?” he asked amused, almost laughing.
“Why would he lie?’’ he threw his arms up.
“Why would he- ‘’ Clint half whispered like he was so shocked at this guy’s stupidity, he actually had to repeat what he said to understand that he really doesn’t know anything about Loki odinson.
“Have you meet Loki?!’’ he asked genuinely, voice getting higher.
‘’I don’t give a shit about who’s lying and who’s not, my jacket is still missing and if you don’t get it by tomorrows basketball practice, I’ll fucking report you.’’ He spat.
Present time.
‘’Aww, c’mon Nick, that guy’s wack, he wasn’t bullying me, he can’t even punch- owie.” Nat pressed at the bruise a little harder. Intentionally probably, Steve thought.
‘’You won’t just be an anti-bullying club.’’ Nick argued. “You’ll also arrange and be in charge of the dances, the festivals, the field trips.’’
‘’So, like a student council club.’’ Steve drawled, like he was explaining the words to himself and Nick.
“Almost, Not exactly,’’ Nick said, one corner of his lips quirked up and one eye narrowed, creasing under. He looked like he was arranging his words.
“You’ll be official representatives of the school, that’s why you’ll host and arrange the events. You’ll welcome the new kids and supervise on important things, like debate and take student suggestions and at times even football games. And, most importantly, show awareness to not only bullying but the things people normally turn a blind eye to. Students mental health and necessities, you’ll support all communities and stand by kids in school who are given a hard time and excluded, make this a place for no discrimination on all grounds such as sexuality, race, disability, creed, color and wealth. In a way you’ll be the center of everything; the face of the academy.’’
Silence.
Then a little more silence.
Then Tony scoffs. “You make it sound as if it’s a nation not a school.”
Rhodey lets out a breath agreeing with Tony. “Yeah, and Do you really think we can live up to your expectations?’’ he scowls.
Nick shows a buzzled face, Rhodey elaborates: “I mean, this sounds like a big responsibility, and we’re not exactly that responsible, we’re still learning things and Clint practically gets bullied every day,’’ he frowns at Clint who has one eye closed, and the other half open, holding up peace signs.
“What Rhodey wants to say is: Why did you choose us out of a whole other lot better options?’’ Sam explains.
“Yeah and it’s 2020, bullying is irrelevant, instead people just hate on themselves, we all do it!’’ Clint explains, and immediately gets hit in the head by Nat who keeps a monotone expression on. Sam puts another ice pack on Clint’s head.
Ignoring Clint, they go back to the conversation. “Nick, you said it yourself a hundred times; you don’t really trust us.’’ Steve says. “So why are you handling us this?’’
“Yeah it’s making me anxious.’’ Bruce fidgets.
“Bruce everything makes you anxious.’’ Valkyrie corrects.
Fury groans lowly and mumbles something under his breath about difficult kids. “As much as it pains me to say it. You’re the best choices I have.’’
All of their eyes widened, for two reasons. 1st Nicks Fury is never nice, especially to: “What’ll be the death of him.’’ And 2nd, they didn’t exactly believe in themselves being the best at this? Nick must provide some reasonable points or they would just consider this a last-minute decision or that they’re his last option or something.
Nick must’ve noticed the second reason (and ignored the first reason) because with a long sigh, he began. “Steve, remember last year, Will Hanks, that kid who didn’t get accepted in the golf team, because the leader was a homophobe?’’ Steve nodded. “You reported him to me and I kicked him out of the team, and Will is now 1st class champion of the school team with two silver medals.’’
Steve looks like he’s going to say something. “Val,’’ Nick begins. “Remember Last year? Maya Perez that girl that was excluded of the student lock-in night, because she didn’t know how to speak English well. And you locked those girls out of school and welcomed her in?’’ Val made a face.
“Pepper, Tony and Thor, you three have become sort of role models- ‘’
“Icons.’’ Tony corrected.
Nick ignores him. “The three of you have great influence on the kids who go here. They would do anything that you do in a heartbeat. Say the things you say, believe the things you believe in- ‘’
“Your point?’’
“My point is:” he adds the same amount of sarcasm Tony added. “They’re affected by your status, imagine you three beginning to fix the bad things happening in school, putting a stop to them. Using this reputation you have on making good things in school. They would eventually start doing the same too.’’ They didn’t argue, except Tony, who looks like he has a ton of things to say.
“Rhodey and Bruce, you two are smart and fair and you know what to do in inconvenient and hard situations, you have a sense of … adultery, you would be considered the most responsible and reasonable.’’
“And I’ve also noticed some blunt physical bullying.’’ Nick continues, slowly turning to face Clint. Clint blinked pressing his lips together.
“So, I also have a plan for that.’’
‘’Which is?’’ Nat asks.
“Val, Nat, Bucky, Steve and Thor. You guys have the ability to stand up for these bullies that beat up and take advantage of weaker kids, the things that go unnoticed to teachers I’m sure you see them. You have guts and are -weirdly- super strong.’’
“Clint, Pietro, you two are excelled sports champions, Pietro, I have never seen anyone run a track as fast as you, you’re the school’s top athletes.’’ Nick says. “Clint, I know you can be responsible and i know you can quit being a dumbass and start going back to practice.’’
“Sam, Wanda, the two of you are brilliant at consoling. Remember, that girl Anna, who had a serious leg injury and couldn’t heal because of emotional distress, she felt that she failed her gymnastic team because she couldn’t win. You two talked to her and reassured and eased her into healing mentally before physically.’’ Wanda scratched her head. Sam bit the inside of his cheek.
“And finally,” he began, tiredly. “Steve, you have a strong moral code, you know what’s right and what’s wrong, being the football team captain and on top of all school activities, people look up to you. You make good decisions and can guide and lead people.’’ The room was dead silent by the time he finished; you could hear a pin drop.
“Okay that’s a great motivational speech I’ll give you that,’’ Tony began. “But, that’s sadly 20 percent of what’s good, the other 80 percent are bad things. This is easily a stupid idea. We can’t force people to change, schools will always have bad kids.’’ Tony argues.
“And why exactly are you here, you only care about yourself and your own appearance.’’ Steve points out. “Take that leather jacker off what are?’’
“Sorry I don’t wear my church pants to school.” Tony shoots back looking at Steve’s khaki pants, flannel shirt, the academy symbol imprinted on the left side, (because god forbid they didn’t have the logo on their clothes) then a red and blue football jersey jacket. And Tony is looking at his outfit with so much disbelief, Pepper rolls her eyes at him.
Val shakes her head, frowning. “What the fuck are they talking about? That was so random.”
“You people are so petty,’’ Thor chuckles, his accent deepening. “ … and tiny.’’ He frowns.
“What do you mean you people?” Clint exclaims.
“Sorry to stay this is very stupid, like Stark said.’’ Thor says, leaving the office.
He opens the door and stops dead in his tracks. Nick must’ve added some intense sound proof doors because they were immune to the commotion happening outside. Every kid in school was fighting, the hallways were a mess, the old posters they had up made a new place on the floor and torn, pepper gasped when she saw (she worked two days on those) and in the middle of it all was-
“Loki!’’ Thor shouts, already angry at his brother, literally standing in the middle of the chaos. “What. Did. You. Do?’’
“Nothing.’’ He says, offended.
Nat runs after Thor and stops a girl– Beth who’s standing away looking nervous and anxious (obviously), Nat begins to ask her what is happening. She explains shakily: ‘‘All the exam report cards got mixed up and some are torn in the garbage, people who passed now have Fs, and it’s all a mess! they’re fighting because they think one of the them did it.’’ The girl said, nervously.
Nat and Tony and all the others hurriedly look in their bags for their own report cards, which they just received this morning, only forgot to look at when Nick had summoned them.
‘’I got a D- on history?! No way that’s true. I studied so hard for that test.’’ Steve says, then he checks the rest of the subjects. “Well at least I got an A+ in math.’’
Tony scrunches his card. “Yeah there’s definitely something wrong with these report cards.’’ He hurries to say.
“I got an F in biology?!’’ Bruce gasps.
“Okay … ” Tony drawls out. “This is just so stupid. All of the information in the report cards are saved in the student school data base so it’s not that big of a deal.’’ He says, confused.
“I don’t think they know that; some misunderstanding must’ve happened.’’ Beth tells them.
“Did you do this?’’ Thor asks Loki, or more of yells.
“Maybe I did. Maybe I didn’t.” He coons.
“So you did. Why?!”
“‘Cause, I was bored.’’ He says, like it’s the most reasonable argument.
“This is why mom is always disappointed in you!” Sam burst out laughing in the back. Thor didn’t understand, well Thor never liked vine anyway, so Sam wouldn’t expect him to get it.
“You hurt my feelings.’’ He puts a hand on his heart, dramatically, like the theatre nerd he is.
“I don’t care.” Thor says. “Stop this madness right now.’’ He demands.
Loki makes a face like he’s thinking it over.
“No.’’ He simply says and leaves.
“Tony you said the report cards are saved in the … Uh- data base, right?’’ Steve asks.
“I did, yeah, does your frozen brain not get it, should I explain- ‘’
“No!’’ Steve stops him. “Look, they obviously don’t know that for some reason; someone should tell them so they stop fighting.’’ Steve says.
“Yeah probably.’’ Tony nods sighing and Steve realizes he isn’t going to volunteer to do it, so he huffs and heads to Nicks office and grabs a horn mic from his office desk. He hesitates for a second, when he finds Nick not moving in his chair. Normally he’s supposed to be out there, putting a stop to the chaos. Yet he’s not bothering. Nick gestures for him to go ahead with his hand. Was this some sort of test? Because Nick was weirdly calm for an academy director in a situation like this.
Steve saw Mr. Coulson enter Nicks office while he was stepping out, he heard him say: “What should we do?! I can’t find any of the teachers they’re gone!’’ in a panic. To which Fury answeres with: “Nothing, just stand by. They can handle this on their own.’’ And Steve thinks he could differ on that.
He stood in front of the others who were outside now, the mic in his sweaty, big, nervous palm, straightening his back to seem capable like he always does, “Okay I don’t think Fury is going to help stop this,’’
“Why?’’
Nat made a face, “Because he wants us to take care of it.’’ She states.
“And we’ll calmly ignore that,’’ Tony draggs the words out.
“No. We need to fix this, not because we have anything to prove; but because we should.’’ Steve protests.
Tony makes a disgusted face. “Okay, captain righteous.’’ He jokes.
Rhodey sighs with a nod, “What should we do?’’ He questions Steve.
Steve blinks, and he’s making the same face that he made when he and Bucky were eight, that time they ate all the cake Sarah — his mom— bought from the bakery for their arriving guests, and there was no way they could make it to the bakery five blocks away in time, before his mom comes back and yells at them, then he clenched his little hands unintentionally, his eyes widening comically and told Bucky that if they take a shortcut they could go to the bakery and get another freshly baked one before his mom comes back from work and she wouldn’t notice. She didn’t.
“Okay … there’re two storage rooms, Tony, Bruce, Pepper and Rhodey, separate and go to each, make sure the data isn’t erased and that it’s all there. Sam, Wanda, take Beth away and try to calm her down. Val, Thor, Pietro and Buck.’’ he looked at the stairs and saw a kid almost fall. “Make sure no one gets hurt. And if someone is, take them to the infirmary, please.’’ He looks at Nat and Clint, “Look for the teachers, see where you can find them, and bring them back so they can help sort this out.’’ They all groan at the thought of getting the teachers back, but all of them headed to do the things he ordered nonetheless.
Finally after they’re all gone he looks at the long main hall stairs and decides it’s the best place for everyone to see and hear him well
He climbs the stairs and when he reach the top, He holds the horn mic to his lips and shouts for them to listen; it doesn’t work, they don’t stop. Then the second time also doesn’t work. Then he goes to shout again but the Bucky is next to him on the stairs and snatching the mic from his hand.
‘’Hey! Everybody SHUT UP, Listen!’’ And this time it works somehow and Steve looks at him confusedly because everyone stopped shouting and fighting and looked expectedly at Steve. Bucky gave him the mic back and Steve breathed out a thanks.
He takes a breath in. “You can’t fight about unreasonable things that you didn’t think through. This is just a misunderstanding.’’ Steve reasoned slowly.
“But the report cards- ‘’
‘’The report cards are filed in the school’s data base so our real gradings aren’t lost,’’ Steve explains. “How did you guys not think of this?!’’
A guy Speaks up. “Loki said the teachers didn’t save them in the data base, he told us he saw someone in the teachers’ office switch them up too!’’ he explains.
Steve puts the mic down. “And you believed him??’’ he asks amused, making a very confused face.
“Anyway, the point is, we all can have our real report cards back, it’ll take a few days but I’m sure Nic- ” Nick, who was standing outside his office now, glares at Steve. “Mr. fury, will arrange them in their right order in no time.’’ Steve says. “So, you have nothing to worry about, everything will be alri …’’ He trails.
He sees Pepper, Bruce, Tony and Rhodey return to the main hallway, they look at Steve at the top of the stairs. Bruce waves his hand over his throat in a ‘stop’ motion and Rhodey keeps making hand gestures for Steve to stop talking, Steve and Bucky’s eyes narrow trying to understand what they’re trying to say. Tony rolls his eyes and uncrosses his arms, “For fucks sake,’’ he sighs. “There’s nothing in the storage rooms, it’s all a mess.’’ He shouts.
“Tony!’’ Pepper snaps at him, Rhodey scoffs like he was expecting that, and Steve’s eyes widened in panic.
“What?! They’re going to be madder when they know he’s lying anyway.’’ Tony defends and Pepper shakes her head.
“So that was a fucking lie!’’ Someone shouts from the back. “Loki was right!’’ and then they’re fighting again, and it’s more of a mess than it was before if that’s even possible. Val, Thor, Rhodey, Pepper, Tony, Bruce, Sam, Nat and Clint had come back and stood at the top of the stairs with Steve and Bucky, away from the chaos.
“What do we do now?’’ Sam asks, Steve shakes his head, like he can’t give an answer.
Bruce fidgets. “All in for not being up to this.’’ They all raise their hands.
Clint leans his head to Steve’s, still looking at the mess in front of them, “We couldn’t find the teach-’’ Steve makes a frustrated sound in the back of his throat, his head falling down. Like he was expecting that but he didn’t want to hear it.
“Does anybody know where Loki is?’’ Thor asks, they all turn slowly and glare at him.
“Okay fine, no one cares.’’ Thor huffs and looks at the trashed hallway. “Understandable.’’ He nods.
Pepper sighs. “This is a mess.’’
“Yeah, such a mess.’’ Someone next to her says, someone she can’t recognize the voice of. She frowns and looks beside her. A girl, 5’5ft or maybe taller, shoulder length almost golden hair, fair clear skin, blue eyes and long lashes and a charming dimple smile, broad lean shoulders, wearing their school uniform, the original one, well they all designed their uniforms the way they wanted them to look, “as long as the logo is there.’’ Nick would sigh out. So, they recognized it was different than their own and other kids designed ones.
“Who are you?’’ Rhodey asks, pointing a finger at her.
“I’m Carol,’’ she smiles. “The new girl.’’

the one with the blind date {obi-wan x reader}
summary: your mother has a knack for setting you up on the worst blind dates. this time, it might be different.
i know what you’re thinking - ‘but val! jedi aren’t allowed to date!’ but for the sake of this fic, the jedi code can suck a fat one because it’s 3am 5am and i don’t have the brain cells to work around star wars canon
love u lots and hope you enjoy

You weren’t entirely sure if your mother’s judgement towards your life choices was supposed to be malicious or not, but it certainly felt like it. The fact she called you to remind you that your cousin just had her third baby! or mention in passing that your friend from school just got married (again)! always felt like it had an ulterior motive. You loved the woman dearly but maker, you wished she would shut the hell up sometimes.
It wasn’t as though you weren’t successful. You had an important job working for the Senate, you’d graduated from the University of Cloud City with honours and you owned an apartment in Coruscant. Did she know how hard it was to get on the property ladder in this city? It was probably one of the selling points she used every time she set you up on a blind date. They were usually with older men, twice divorced and with more baggage than you were ready for.
You weren’t expecting this date to be any different - your mother had mentioned he was a friend of a friend (possibly of a friend, of another friend and then maybe the colleague of that friend). She hadn’t told you what job he had, only that he was a bit older than you and ‘earned enough to support a small family’ - but you had chosen to ignore that last part. She’d arranged for you to meet at a diner downtown in the early evening, and you weren’t expecting too much.
There were only two people in the diner. One was a man of an alien species who appeared to be roughly 150; he had a pint in one hand and a burger in the other. The other one was undoubtedly a Jedi - and a very attractive one too. He was browsing the menu, brow furrowed slightly as he frowned. He looked up as the bell on the door rang, and your eyes met. If he was your date, your mother had done well for once (though she could have pre-warned you about his occupation).
‘Hey, you must be-’ He offered you a warm smile, standing up from the table to wave you over.
Say something, dumbass you pushed yourself.
‘- that sure is me!’ You quipped. Great start, you moron.
‘It’s lovely to meet you.’ The Jedi sat back down as you shuffled into the booth opposite him. ‘I’m Obi-Wan.’
‘Right, yeah - sorry, my mum did tell me your name.’ You replied.
‘What else did she tell you?’ He quipped, quirking one of his brows. ‘Just so I can try and live up to whatever lively image I’m sure she’s created.’
‘Just your name.’ You laughed. ‘She didn’t mention being a Jedi or anything.’
Obi-Wan paused for a minute. ‘Oh, I’m not a Jedi.’
You froze slightly, quickly trying to think of a response. It hadn’t been a reach - he was wearing robes, and you could see what looked like a lightsaber under the table. Not that you had been looking under the table, or down there - and maker, this was embarrassing.
‘I’m joking.’ He suddenly burst into a fit of laughter. ‘I am a Jedi. I thought it would break the ice but you look like you’re about to cry-’
‘- that was mean!’ You reached across the table to swat at his shoulder. ‘I pride myself on my intuition, Obi-Wan.’
‘I wouldn’t call the fact I’m wearing a Jedi robes and carrying a lightsaber intuition, more like the glaringly obvious.’ He leant back, crossing his arms over his chest as he smirked at you.
You liked this guy.
‘But what do you do?’ Obi-Wan continued. ‘Your mother mentioned that you work for the Senate.’
‘I do!’ You replied. ‘I’m a political advisor.’
‘What does that entail?’
‘I just sit there and tell the senators if they’re being just a bit stupid or completely stupid.’ You grinned.
‘Well, it certainly sounds like a very important job.’ He smiled back.
‘You’re one to talk. You’re like..the keeper of the Force.’ You replied.
‘That’s not quite it.’ Obi-Wan couldn’t help but laugh at your attempt to describe his job. ‘But you’re close.’
--
Two hours later - and after ordering food that you’d both been too distracted to touch - you were both doubled over in laughter at something Obi-Wan had said. He was funny; you’d figured out that much. It wasn’t in an obvious way, but more of a charming, observant way. He took an interest in you as well - he asked about your job, your hobbies and your time at college. In a way, he felt a bit too good to be true. Every guy your mother set you up with had fallen short within the first five minutes.
What could it be? Was he secretly already married? Was he a convicted criminal on the run and posing as a Jedi?
‘I have to ask.’ Obi-Wan reached across the table, warm hand falling on top of yours. ‘You have a good job. You own your own apartment and you’re beautiful. Why do you need your mother to find you a date?’
You let out a small laugh, shaking your head. ‘I don’t meet many suitable people in my line of work. They’re either much, much older senators or...actually, that’s it.’
He chuckled slightly, squeezing your hand - you could have sworn that your heart stopped for a moment (either that, or your coffee addiction had finally caught up with you). The fact you’d been too deep in conversation with him to even look at your food said a lot. Before now, no man would ever have been able to come to between you and a burger.
‘Let’s get out of here.’ Obi-Wan threw a few credits on the table. ‘I know a place that has better food.’
You tossed a few of your own credits, giving him a nod. ‘I’ll have to take your word for it since neither of us actually touched this food.’
‘I’m easily distracted, apparently.’ He joked, offering out his hand to you as you pulled your jacket on.
‘That’s bad for a Jedi.’ You joked, taking it.
‘I correct myself.’ He paused for a moment, shaking his head. ‘I’m easily distracted by you.’
‘Right, I have a tendency to do that.’ You replied. ‘I bet my mother didn’t tell you that I was so breathtaking.’
‘Actually, she told me I had a mission.’ He replied.
The cold night air hit you as you exited the diner. You could hear the buzz of the city traffic further uptown, filling the silence as you pondered his statement for a moment. Your mother worked as an admin assistant for the Jedi temple - she organised transport and missions and the logistics of most their operations - and she had a tendency to spill embarrassing things about you in conversation.
‘A mission?’ You grimaced. ‘What did she tell you it was?’
‘To investigate that very diner we were just sat in.’ Obi-Wan smiled down at you, face lit up under the lights of a theatre as you walked past. ‘She only told me before I left the temple that it was a blind date.’
‘Maker, that woman.’ You muttered.
‘I’m not complaining, though.’ He quickly replied. He let go of your hand, moving to fling his arms across your shoulders and pull him closer towards him. ‘I was a bit worried that you were going to be...’
‘...like her?’ You nudged him in the ribs slightly. ‘Because that’s something I worry about too every time I get a bit older.’
‘Oh, you have nothing to worry about.’ Obi-Wan said. ‘You have her nose but I’d say that’s it.’
--
A few more hours passed, and you found yourselves having walked all the way to the other side of the city. You were latched onto his side now, one arm around his waist whilst his rested on your shoulder. The warmth of his body against the cold of the night air was a wonderful contrast and you couldn’t help but smile at how at home you felt. He had a very calming presence (probably something to do with the whole Jedi debacle).
‘Let’s sit down.’ You wrapped your hand around his wrist, tugging him over to a low-sitting wall.
You were on the edge of Coruscant, a few miles away from the city centre. The lights of the vast skyline illuminated the road in front of you, the whites and blues and red of the mammoth buildings blurring into a technicolour dream. You sometimes forgot how wonderful the place was, especially when you spent so much time observing corrupt politics and dodgy dealings at your job. That wasn’t on your mind, however - Obi-Wan Kenobi was at the forefront of your thoughts.
‘You’re cold.’ He commented.
‘I’m always cold.’ You shot back. ‘Isn’t that something you can tell through the Force?’
‘Oh, my dear.’ Obi-Wan chuckled. ‘The Force doesn’t work like that.’
‘So, it’s not like mind-reading and magic tricks?’ You shuffled slightly in your seat, turning so that you were facing him.
‘I definitely can’t read your mind.’
‘That’s a shame. It would make this whole dating thing much easier.’ You quipped.
‘You could just tell me what you’re thinking.’ He reasoned.
You paused for a moment - you were thinking about kissing him, obviously. There had been several moments through out the night where you almost had, but it hadn’t felt like the right time. But here? Basking under the glow of the city lights, sat so close to him? You’d be damned if there was a better chance than this.
Obi-Wan met you halfway, your lips brushing against his. Like him, they were soft and warm, and you felt yourself leaning further into him. One of his arms wound around your waist, making an attempt to pull you close, though such a thing were possible. Meanwhile, you had one hand on the back of his neck, softly playing with the hair that fell onto your hand.
There was a gust of wind, and you suddenly jumped back with surprise. He laughed at your reaction, dropping his head into your shoulder as his body shook against yours.
‘So,’ you began. ‘Second date?’
‘I don’t think we’re done with this one.’
(Within the year, your mother finally had bragging rights about the fact it was her child getting married this time).
there’ll probably be a part 2 to this i won’t lie to u i’ve already got it written in my head

When It Rains, It Pours (Thor x Reader) Part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After an intense battle, the avengers have saved New York from being corrupted by Loki’s evil. The time has come to bring him to Asgard to face judgement and proper punishment. You’ve been enlisted by Tony Stark to help create a device that will temporarily disable Loki’s abilities in order to ensure he won’t escape. However, when you go through a test run of the device with the mighty Thor you find that the device malfunctions and instead takes away Thor’s powers instead. How will you help the God of thunder now that he remains powerless against his brother’s ill will. Thor x Reader Part 1 Words: 3,005 A/N: I lived bitch. Bet y’all thought you’d seen the last of me. Jokes on you I still am determined to finish this pic even if it takes the rest of my life!!! That being said, I am aware that it has been a long time since I’ve posted and people might have moved on to different fandoms or just different writers! Feel free to let me know if you’d like to be removed or added to my tag list!! Thanks for reading!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "What the hell did you do to me?!" You shouted again. You pushed yourself from up the ground so that you sat on your behind instead of being sprawled out across the lab's floor like some kind of fur pelt. You blinked rapidly as you tried to keep yourself from reeling back in pain. Your chest felt like someone had doused it in gasoline and thrown a match on top while your hands felt like someone had crushed them with a hot iron.
"Easy there Rookie, just take it easy alright?" Tony groaned pushing himself to stand.
"What did <I>we</I> do to you?" The god of thunder bellowed from his spot. Unlike the rest of you, he was having a significantly harder time finding his way to his feet. "What did you do to <I>me</I>?!" He shouted pointing an accusing finger at your body.
“I don’t understand!” you finally found your way to a battered steel counter and used its surface to help support you as you rose to your feet. There was a constant tingle in your hands, and when you looked down at them, you felt your heart drop at the sight. Thor’s familiar blue electricity crackled and danced against the back of your hands.
“What… what happened?” Your voice was undoubtedly broken now, the unbearable unease from the unknown finally settling into you.
“Something went wrong,” Thor grunted.
“Something went wrong?” Tony rubbed the back of his head while he turned to the golden-haired god, scowling. “Val Hallen, you were supposed to be the expert on this supernatural shit. What do you mean something went wrong?”
Thor shook his head frowning. “There must have been something wrong with the handcuffs… Yes, that’s the only way. Clearly, the workmanship of the handcuffs was faulty.”
You looked at Tony only to see his jaw go slack in disbelief. “No. No no no, I tested those handcuffs out at least a hundred times before handing them off to you. Those things were foolproof. The only thing that they were missing was the Asgardian runes.” He took a step forward to Thor pointing a finger back at him.
“If something in this project could have possibly been faulty, it had to be because of <I>you</I>.”
You rubbed the temples of your forehead, feeling a headache settling in. What in the world was happening? Even if you wanted answers, no one seemed to be addressing you at all. Thor and Tony were busy bickering back and forth playing a game of who’s to blame while something was wrong with you. Your agitation which started as a simmering steam at the beginning of this encounter was now bubbling approaching a boil.
“Everyone just stop talking for a minute for god’s sake!” You shouted now throwing your hands up in agitation. When your palms flipped outward a surge of energy coursed through your body again, funneling out of your hands in the form of lightning.
Tony’s eyes widened and took a dive bomb towards the left, his body skidding across the floor just barely missing the bolt of lightning. Thor lacking the strength to move, only put his arms out in a frail attempt to defend himself. The lightning aimed towards his body hit his arms directly causing him to fall over on the ground again in agony, his body seizing and switching as electricity attacked his body.
Seeing the god of thunder being rendered helpless by your hands sent a terrifying shock through your body. You stumbled back into the counter as you raised a hand to your mouth before staring at it and slowly lowering it back down to your chest. You held your hands together, hoping that if you kept them clasped within one another it would stop you from hurting others.
“I… my hands they…” You stammered looking down at your palms again, the lightning licked against your fingers again, as if they were waiting for another chance to strike.
“I need answers.” Your voice was desperate as you choked back tears. “Now.”
You hear Tony sigh as he reaches down beside Thor taking him by the tricep and lifting him slowly until he was at an appropriate height. Your boss slung Thor’s arm around his shoulder supporting the god sighing as his eyes met you.
“From what I can see, it looks as though you’ve consumed Thor’s power. I’ve only seen that blue electricity come from him and well… Point Break here looks like he’s been hit by a bus.” He shrugged the arm that held the arm jostling the titan of a man like he was a sack of potatoes.
You stared at Thor who couldn’t even manage to lift his head towards you in acknowledgment as Tony spoke. Your breath started to quicken, each breath taken just seemed as though it weren’t enough.“But how could this happen… Thor is a god and I’m just a mortal I… Is this going to kill me?!”
“That is… well.” Tony paused suddenly looking at you, his eyebrows furrowing together as he contemplated deep within his mind.
“Well, rookie… to be completely honest with you I don’t know.”
You could feel the electricity crackling against your palms again. You couldn’t control it, you couldn’t control anything. Your entire body had been transformed into a ticking time bomb and you had no idea how to prevent it from exploding. What was worse, one of the most intelligent entrepreneurs in technology couldn’t find an answer for you either.
“Worry not mortal.” You heard Thor groan finally managing to support himself slowly with the help of Tony’s arm. “I may be powerless, but I am still a god.” He muttered strands of golden hair falling between his eyes. He took a long deep breath as he straightened his posture up, his gaze still lingering on your burning with a will that undoubtedly could shake the heavens.
“I will save you.”
You saw the man reduced to a helpless body across the floor moments ago, but it was clear that his divine energy came from more than the power of his thunder.
With a hand still propped on Tony’s shoulder for support, he looked around the wreckage of the lab finally taking in the destruction.
“Stark the handcuffs. They did take away my power correct?” He asked looking back towards your trembling body.
Tony sighed but nodded eventually. “It seems to be that way, yeah.”
Thor returned his nod and jerked his neck to both sides suddenly making two loud pops before he took both arms and began to stretch them out slowly by crushing the other between his bicep and forearm.
“Then that’s all that matters.”
“I’m sorry, what?”
You both stared at the god in disbelief. Suddenly he was striding towards you slowly, his physical strength seeming to have already been restored. He stood only a foot away from you now and stood taller than you, still meeting your eyes with stormy blue irises.
“If the handcuffs indeed take away power then they will be sufficient. When we arrive in Asgard, we will find a way to return my powers to me.”
You swallowed a hard lump that had settled in the back of your throat once Thor stepped in front of you. “We?”
Thor nodded slowly. “I cannot keep up the ruse that I still hold my power as my own without you.”
You reeled back in disbelief. “You want me to help you pretend that you still have your powers in Asgard?”
The god of thunder stood his ground. “Yes. If Loki even smelled a lack of power in me he would use anything and everything to destroy me and take over my kingdom again.” he took another step forward towards your body, the space nearly being closed between you.
“I cannot let that happen.”
“If I might cut in for a moment,” Tony interrupted, walking over to you and Thor. he put a hand on your shoulder and snatched it back when he was quickly zapped with a static shock. He looked over at you with feigned annoyance. He knew you didn’t shock him intentionally, but he thought the face would lift the mood. It didn’t.
“My new assistant has only just been introduced to this new world of heroes and aliens and gods and the like. She has no idea what she’s getting into-”
“Neither do I,” Thor replied cutting him off. “But it must be done.”
“Can we just talk about this?” Tony asked exhausted, placing an arm between you two now. Thor finally tore his gaze from you to the billionaire.
“The only person who needs to talk is the mortal,” Thor said simply turning his gaze to you. You were waiting for him to make another stubborn comment to get Tony to get off his back when he suddenly dropped to a knee.
The god slowly took your hand in his looking up at you, eyebrows furrowed in a fierce determination.
“Miss… I am not asking you to help me. I am <i>begging</I> you.”
You tried not to let your jaw drop at his words. A god was begging you? You could feel the electricity building in the hand that Thor took. When you glanced at your connecting hands you saw that the lightning was striking against Thor’s skin. Yet, when you looked back into his eyes you saw the determination never leave his gaze. His lips were pressed into a hard line as he bore the pain of his power from another, but he never once relented.
You visibly deflated slowly. With Thor at your side, maybe you had a chance.
“Well… who am I to deny a god?”
You laughed bitterly as you slipped your hand from his, taking it back into your own holding your hands together to try to keep from hurting anyone else. You looked back at Tony now a bit sheepishly.
“Does this mean I have to put my two weeks in?” You asked.
Tony sighed and shook his head, planting a hand on his hip while rolling his eyes. “Let’s say you’re putting your vacation in early okay? Just don’t make this a permanent relocation. As you probably know I kind of fired the rest of my assistants today.” He gave you a smirk before taking his arm back and pulling his phone out of his pocket tapping away.
“So, when are you two planning on leaving?”
“Before the sun sets today.”
Tony nearly dropped his phone only catching it seconds before it shattered against the floor. “Before the sun sets? As in, three hours from now?”
Thor finally rose to his feet again folding his arms against his chest. “If not earlier. My father will want to contain Loki as soon as possible, and if I do not bring him to Asgard he will retrieve him himself.” The god paused looking between you both cautiously. “I believe you’d prefer me in your hair than my father.”
Tony hummed in thought tapping his phone against his chin. “God of thunder versus God-king… I think I’ll take my chances with Baywatch over here.” He turned to you now pointing the phone at you while he continued.
“I’ll arrange your leave of absence for you. We’ll call this an intensive project on behalf of Stark Industry. Everything will be covered for you before you can say ‘Tony Stark is the best boss ever and sure he got me into a mess but he will be paying me enough to buy two small islands and a private jet to travel to each.’”
You gave a half-hearted smile. “Thank you, Mr. Stark.”
He gave a loud groan. “Really with the formalities again? I think we’re past the point of being just a boss and employee since I’ve got you in this situation. For the love of… well Thor please just call me Tony.”
You only continued to smile. “Of course...Mister Stark.”
Tony sighed but pulled you into a one-armed hug. “Well, you know what they say about dogs and old tricks. I’ll be patient.” he shrugged. “You two should get ready. If you want to leave for Asgard before sundown you’d better get a move on.”
When you turned to face Thor to ask about the next plan of action you saw him walking towards Mjölnir which was firmly planted in the ground where he laid before when your blast first went off. It seemed as though he were staring at the hammer for an eternity before stretching an arm out, fastening a hand against its leather handle. There was a moment of silence before he closed his eyes and lifted.
You sighed in relief as you saw the legendary hammer lift to Thor’s hammer. So, he was still worthy after all.
Thor nodded, taking in a deep breath, regaining his composure before turning to you. “Well small spark, it's about time we introduce you to my brother?”
“Small spark?” You repeated.
“Well, since you had not told me your real name I thought to give you a nickname to call yourself.”
You introduced yourself and watched as Thor stroked his chin in thought.
“I think small spark suits you better. You do hold my power now, maybe if you prove yourself useful, you can be called Lady of Thunder.”
You pressed your lips into a thin line. It seemed as though he were in good enough spirits to still tease you. You would have teased back but you didn’t feel like being smote by a god. Even if Thor didn’t hold dominion over thunder any longer, you were sure he could pack a powerful punch if he wanted to.
“Let’s go see that brother of yours shall we?”
---
You walked beside the Lord of thunder as automatic doors slid open, revealing an open-cell paneled glass and a slender raven-haired man inside. He was sitting on the floor unnaturally cool until He looked up to see you and Thor entering the room. He looked battered and bruised beyond compare, but his bright green eyes shared that same inextinguishable spark that Thor held.
“Thor.” The raven-haired man said his eyes scanning over to you quickly. “I see you’ve brought a toy.”
“It's time to bring you home brother,” Thor ignored the last comment staring him down.
“We are <i>not</i> brothers.” The trickster god hissed. “And that is not my home.”
“Father wants you to return to Asgard,” Thor stated.
“As his prisoner.” Loki laughed with a roll of his eyes.
When Thor didn’t deny his statement, you saw Loki’s expression twist into an unnatural scowl made up of pure hatred.
“Well, aren’t you going to subdue me? Strike me with lightning and bring me to my knees?” Loki scoffed.
You felt your chest seize up with anxiety. Was that what was supposed to happen? Thor hadn’t told you anything about actually using his power in his presence. If Loki was as intelligent and conniving as Thor had portrayed him to be, he would surely discover your secret in an instant. You looked slowly to Thor who didn’t return your gaze.
He took a step forward towards the cell and you followed close behind him. Oh god, you were really doing this weren’t you? How were you going to possibly pull this off you weren’t prepared-
“Fury,” Thor called flatly before an odd purple gas sprayed out into the cell circling the four inner glass panels. The gas swirled around Loki’s head in an opaque cloud. You saw the Asgardian reach out to the two of you behind the glass before his eyes rolled to the back of his head. His knees gave out beneath him before he clattered to the floor with a loud thump.
Thor sighed. “He will undoubtedly ask why I did not show my power.” He warned.
“And what do we do when he does?” You asked, holding your hands close to your chest again.
“We do what Loki does best,” Thor said with a frown. “We lie.”
Minutes after, S.H.I.E.L.D agents swarmed into the case along with Thor and yourself. Thor knelt to his sleeping brother and pursed his lips tight together as he brought a new pair of handcuffs to Loki’s hands. There was a soft click and nothing else. You still stared at Thor ensuring that no shift of power had been missed, and when he sighed with relief, you did too.
“Well, at least one pair worked.” You joked quietly to him.
“Yes,” Thor replied. “The easy part is over.” He said slapping a small band of metal across Loki’s mouth. The band quickly extended and transformed into some type of muzzle. You only quirked an eyebrow at Thor who shrugged.
“I’d rather not have to hear his sharp tongue on the way back to the palace.” he hoisted his brother up and over his shoulder.
“Heimdall!” Thor suddenly shouted before suddenly pulling you into him with his free arm. “I have Loki in my possession. I wish to return to bring him to trial.” He suddenly looked at you cradled against his chest. You were staring at him like a deer in headlights.
“The woman too,” he added after a moment.
“Wait- We’re going now?” You whispered to the god. “What about the plan, what about the handcuffs- Thor how are we going to pull this off??”
He didn’t get to answer immediately as both of your bodies were suddenly consumed by a bright burning light built of a kaleidoscope of color. You instinctively held onto the avenger closing your eyes in fear. In truth, you probably could have protected him better than he could protect you, but your mortal fear was still very present in your body.
When your eyes opened again you were surrounded by gold, a man in shimmering armor wielding a glimmering sword staring you down with amber eyes. Before you was an opal road that glittered rainbow colors every which way.
Thor leaned close to your ear.

shoutodoki x todoroki shouto || gallickingun matchups
Tumblr media
@shoutodoki : Hi moe!! This one will be my emoji if it’s not taken yet! 🌙 I love matchups so I hope you don’t mind me sending one in too but I would prefer a male character from Bnha 🥺👉🏼👈🏼 I love writing and drawing and I’m currently a nursing assistant, hopefully a soon to be nurse! I love helping people and brightening their days. It’s just my passion to be there for others. I dress in casual clothes, t shirt and leggings lol but I usually do like full glam makeup because why not be extra? First date would be maybe at a cafe or somewhere chill! I’m a quiet introvert so I prefer people who don’t mind relaxing and needing a break from social events! Hopefully that’s enough lol I’m not too picky haha. Love you bb take your time and also congrats on the milestone, you totally deserve it xx 🌙
Val, thank you so much my love 🧡 I hope you love what I’ve prepped for you!
Tumblr media
―  I think Shouto needs someone who is patient, kind, and reassuring without being overwhelmed. He’s got a lot of emotional baggage, and he sometimes needs to feel like he can unwind and decompress around a significant other who won’t judge him, but will lift him up and be there for him.  ―  Shouto is definitely an introvert, and he needs someone who will allow him to be that way, while also maybe pushing him outside his bounds sometimes. So, I think you guys would have fun together at events, but also be able to understand when the other is getting tired or weary of being extroverted. ―  To some extent, Shouto also enjoys being there for other people. He and Midoriya are close because he can pay attention to his emotions and help him when he needs to, as well as stand up for his friend whenever he feels like he’s being taken advantage of. Together, you two would make a wonderful pair who are there for your friends but also know when enough is enough.
Tumblr media
❁ Shouto would absolutely adore being an introvert with you - he would always take you to every hero gala and celebration, but all it would take is one quick look to you, even from across the room, and you’d know that he’s begging you to go home. He loves the way you can read his mind, how you’re so quickly in tune with his emotions and his social meter, and his with yours! He’d know that you were tired, exhausted from forced conversation, and he’d skillfully cross the floor and press his palm to your lower back, leaning down into your ear so those around you cannot hear, “Let’s go, love. I can’t wait to get you home.”  ❁ The two of you would go on lovely dates, always something new. Shouto takes you to places that are more secluded, so you don’t have to worry about others recognizing him as a famous Pro Hero and so the two of you can enjoy some alone time together. He’d take you on a picnic to the beach, a bike ride through the countryside, maybe even a hiking trip! Anything he can do to surprise and dote on you, all while making sure that you’re out of the public eye as best as possible. ❁ Todoroki loves to see you in his hero merch. Whether it’s rejected designs, stock items that haven’t hit the store yet, or exclusive merch that’s only supposed to go around to certain stores. He adores bringing it home to you for you to wear around the house, out on errands, and he especially enjoys seeing you pictured in hero magazines with you wearing his shirt designs. You’re so adorable with your big t-shirts and leggings, he loves to slip his hands underneath the hem of the shirt and run his fingertips over your back and shoulders. It’s so exciting to see you being proud of him, because he’s always yearned for that support and seeing you loving on him even in these smallest of ways makes his heart race. ❁ Your selfless, kind nature is something that Todoroki wants to emulate. He loves seeing you help others, and will often stop by the hospital just to bring you flowers or lunch, because it’s all he can do to give back to you like you give back to others. He is there to be your backbone, though, if he ever feels like you’re being taken advantage of or walked over by your friends or co-workers or even family members. He gets heated when he sees your patient soul abused by those who should be careful with you, and he’s not afraid to call someone out on this, or encourage you to stand up for yourself.  ❁ Your patience and openness allows Todoroki to truly explore and heal his tattered heart, and you’re always there to pick him back up when he falls into an emotional hole. He has moments where he is second-guessing himself and his personality - how much of himself is truly his father, his mother, and what is him? Is Todoroki Shouto a confident, snarky, intelligent, and successful man because it’s what he’s done, or because of his father? There are moments where he needs your reassurance that he’s doing something right, that he’s fighting that darkest part of himself every day. And when he feels your kiss on his cheek and your words settle on his ears, he knows that he’s doing at least one thing right.
Tumblr media
“Shouto,” you giggle as he noses your cheek, fingers creeping over your hip bone in a tantalizing tickling motion, “you’re going to get in trouble if you skip again.”
He blows a pensive breath against your neck, squeezing your ribs and tugging you closer, “You know that I hate those things, darling, why would I go out of my way to attend them? You don’t like them either. Even better reason not to go.”
A chuckle escapes your lips and you run your fingers through his hair, tugging gently on the heterochromatic strands, intermingling red and white through your knuckles. You kiss the top of his head and slip your thigh between his legs, beckoning him closer so you can look him in the eyes, “A top ten pro hero is expected to attend all of these things, Sho’. We can’t skip all of them forever.”
“I’d rather be here, with you,” he kisses your jaw and then leans over you, loitering like a protective shadow, “eating that soba that we ordered thirty minutes ago- should I call and check?”
Your fingers slip to his shoulders, toying with the silken strands at the nape of his neck, “Hm, actually, I can think of a way to pass the time.”
Shouto’s mouth envelopes yours in a bruising kiss at the notion, hands toying with the hem of your shirt, an old tee design from his earlier sidekick days. It’s tattered and worn, but it holds memories of your time together, which makes the most sentimental side of Todoroki Shouto rise to the surface. He’s reminded of your walks through town, your simple coffee dates as you got to know one another, and then, as his fingers slip down your arm to your hand, he rolls his thumb around the diamond that’s cut into the golden band that’s taken residence on your fourth finger for a few years now, and he knows that the memories you’ve made will all pale in comparison to the memories you are destined to make in the wonderful future that the two of you have planned.
Pulling away with a gasp, your face is flushed and your lips are already swollen, and Shouto can’t help the grin that tugs on his lips. You swear you see a shine in his eyes, but you’re distracted when his attention turns to the door, a rapping knock resounding against the door.
“You sure we can’t make him wait just a few more minutes?”
“Shouto.”
“Yes ma’am.”

Episode One: In the Middle of the Street TRANSCRIPT
[You can listen to the show wherever you get your podcasts.]
[Intro music players.]
ANNOUNCER:
Three-Eyed Frog Presents: Incident Report Number 31.
[Theme song fades to a stop.]
[click recorder on]
ARCHIVIST:
Test. Test. One, two, three. (mutters) Bloody hell, why does it smell like something died in here? Well, guess we can’t prove something didn’t, eh? The recorder seems to be working, at least.
My name is Val West. I’m the newly appointed head archivist at The [REDACTED] Institute, which documents people’s possible experiences with the supernatural for both emotional support purposes and to get recovery time off of work, school, et cetera if the trauma is deemed severe enough by their employers or other supervisory staff.[beat as they scoff] Supernatural doctor’s note, innit...
The Head of the Institute, Mr. Neil Banks, has asked me to record these accounts because, well, there actually isn’t really a good reason. [mutters] Didn’t spend eight years getting a masters in library sciences to read stories into a dusty tape recorder, but, we all have to get by.
I do, at least, have people to assist me: two researchers: Zach Zamuel-Imogen Baker, and Christine Lewis, along with, I’m told, a very well-respected psychologist: one [hesitant] Dr. Oliver Possum, who will be advising me on any cases where there is necessary psychological follow up. I haven’t actually met any of them yet, but hopefully they will be helpful.
I was also explicitly told not to look behind the bookshelf to my left, so I will be looking behind the bookshelf later today...right. Guess I should get started, then.
[Sound of papers tapped on desk to organize them]
ARCHIVIST:
[They clear their throat.] For the consideration of Ortolan Bunting Law Firm: Ayla Stephenson’s encounter with a house that did not exist and her subsequent request for thirty hours of paid time off. No date given. Fine by me. Not gonna lose sleep over improperly filled out paperwork. Well. Start? I suppose? Yes.
[ACCOUNT.]
I feel the need to start with this, so you fully understand what I’m trying to say. I have a feeling you’ll just dismiss my story otherwise. I’ve lived here going on ten years now. Moved here on the promise of a job from the same company that I still work for today: Ortolan Bunting Law Firm. I drive the same route to work every day. I mean, I looked up the quickest way on the map when I first moved to town, and hey, who am I to question that? If it works it works. No need to make something difficult when the map’ll just figure it for you that first day, right?
I guess I’m getting a bit off topic here, but my point is that I’ve been going the same way for a decade, which is to say that I know the route to and from work like the back of my hand. Sure, maybe I don’t pay attention to every detail every day, I mean after ten years, the drive is almost an unconscious thing-
ARCHIVIST:
(mutters) Not a great way to build up your story’s credibility but, I digress.
[ACCOUNT.]
-but I still know all the road’s quirks, even if they don’t stick out to me after all this time. I know that the first left turn light on the way lasts for about two seconds and if you’re more than two cars behind in line, you’ll have to wait a whole cycle to go. I know there’s a business center that, god knows why, has their logo done in comic sans just off to the right before I merge onto the highway. Once I’m on that freeway for about fifteen minutes, I can see this drive through coffee place on one of the adjacent streets. Every single morning the line’s backed up out to the street- you’d think there’d be a better way to do that, but that’s more of a personal gripe and certainly not the point. On my way back from work, I take a few side streets to avoid rush hour traffic on the main road- just the way the map recommended on my first day, of course, I’m not looking to get lost in the backroads. There’s a few old houses, sometimes I see elderly couples sitting out on their porches. Sometimes they wave and I do have the decency to wave back, though some of my colleagues might not believe you… I’m afraid I’ve been a bit put off by this whole experience and have been taking it out on some of my coworkers. All the more reason to give me the [THE ARCHIVIST sighs this last part out as they are once again pulled out of the story] time off that I so kindly requested.
ARCHIVIST:
That last line is crossed out. It appears that Ms. Stephenson was reluctant for her Firm to read that bit if this ever got back around to them. To be honest, the way that this is going, I’m not so sure that plea would have done anything for her, but I am, of course, to remain the impartial academic in my work here, so I suppose I’ll allow the defacing of Institute paperwork just this once, even if the scribbles are rather unprofessional.
[ACCOUNT.]
There're a few empty lots there too. I think at one point, the city wanted to buy them up and make a park, but I don’t think they ever got around to it. Really don’t think they will now. I’m getting ahead of myself. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I’ve been going the same way day in and day out for ten years… I’d notice if something was different.
ARCHIVIST:
I’m assuming… that is the point of this report yes? [beat] Continuing on.
[ACCOUNT.]
Nothing that day was really any different, I’d say. Just drove to work, hit all the usual landmarks: waiting to turn at the light, glancing at the comic sans sign, thinking that that coffee shop is definitely obstructing traffic, the usual. Went to work, got through the day with… minor amounts of stress… I mean it’s legal work, it isn’t fun, but somebody’s gotta do it. Got off right at five, gathered up my things and left. I took my usual streets, not really minding anything, but I noticed no one was out on the porches. That’s not unusual, I know, people can be inconsistent, it’s not a big deal, but looking back? Maybe they knew something was off… I mean if I’d lived in that neighborhood I certainly would have.
[Eerie music begins playing.]
I always drive with the radio on, can’t stand being alone with my thoughts on a busy street where road rage can make its way into my thoughts. Guess I should’ve mentioned that earlier, huh? Either way it seems important that I say it’s part of my daily life. I do it every day, and I’ve never had a problem with reception in that area, so when the sound started to glitch out, I thought something was wrong with my car. It was frustrating, sure, but not a big deal, even if I don’t necessarily enjoy the sound of static more than the average person.
I went through the usual useless attempts to fix it, of course. Smacked it a few times, turned it off and on again, but nothing changed. In the end, I just turned it off as I kept driving. Figured my own thoughts were better than the white noise that faded in and out of my speaker at an unpredictable volume. Things were fine for a few minutes. I’d almost gotten to the end of the street when I realized something wasn’t quite right.
At first, I thought maybe the light was just reflecting into my eyes weird. Maybe I’d just seen something out of the corner of my eye that there was a fine explanation for. Because… I knew this road. And there had never been a house there before. I was sure of it. A whole house isn’t something that could go up in a night, but you know that, you aren’t an idiot.
[Record scratch, cutting the music off.]
ARCHIVIST:
[pretentious bastard] I’d certainly like to think so, yes.
[ACCOUNT.]
But there it was. It wasn’t right next to the other houses, a few lots down the road instead. Other than my knowledge that it wasn’t there before, though, it could have blended into the neighborhood without anyone noticing. All things considered, it was a pretty nice house. Sure, it was done up in that fancy Victorian style and therefore inherently a little unnerving, you know how those old places just seem a little haunted even if they’re perfectly put together?
Still, beyond that, it was fine. Not broken down in that sort of creepy ghost way that you see in movies, or anything. The paint was pretty well done, only a little aged from the sun, and all the wood on the wrap-around porch was together. I mean if I was building a murder house, I would’ve splintered the boards and peeled up the exterior wall a bit, something along those lines, you know? It looked like someone could have been living out of it. Totally normal.
I know what you’re thinking, that I got out and had a look, but I can’t say I did. As the sun was going down? While I was all of a sudden unsure of my own thoughts? Really? No way in hell. I’m not an idiot either. So I kept driving. As I passed by, I got this strange feeling… like I wasn’t alone on the street. I don’t know if I imagined it or not, but with how much I was already questioning what I knew, I wasn’t sure I wanted the answer, and I sped away, not wanting to stick around any longer than I had to. Now, when I got home, I went through stages of denial before realizing that, hey, it wasn’t my damn neighborhood, and therefore not actually a problem that I would have to deal with.
At least until I was driving back from work the next afternoon. Funny how that works… your problems don’t just disappear because you’ve chosen to ignore them. Although ignore is a strong word considering I spent all day at work worrying about whether or not I should trust myself and whether or not I would see the house again when I drove home… I could’ve gone another route, of course. Could’ve gone even one street over and left it at that.
But that isn’t how it works, is it? I was so unsure of my own thoughts that I’d rather put myself in a situation that seemed potentially harmful than not know if I was wrong or not. [beat] So I went down the same route, just like I’d been conditioned to for the last decade. Once again, the couples were inside. They had to know something was wrong, I mean I was able to realize the house shouldn’t have been there and I didn’t even live in the neighborhood. I slowed my car to a snail’s pace as I inspected all about the street that I could. Not really sure what I was looking for if I’m being honest, but when I got to the house, I’d convinced myself that, yes, in fact, it was as real as the rest of the places on the block.
I don’t think it was really a conscious decision when I stopped the car. I’d just been going so slow already and… well I’d reached my target, hadn’t I? I sat and gazed over the house for a few moments. Looking over the perfect condition it seemed to be in, to no avail. It seemed to be perfectly normal. Maybe… Maybe I was really just in my head about all of this. Was it really that hard to believe? I should’ve just left, stopped staring at this place. Sitting there wasn’t going to change the fact that it was there, whether or not I could really trust my mind.
But… then I saw the curtains in the front window move. I snapped my gaze over to where I’d seen the motion and there was a little boy staring at me through the glass. He looked off to something behind the curtain before looking back over and waving, grinning a gap toothed smile at me. I... Well I wasn’t quite sure what to do with that so… I waved back. What else was I supposed to do? In an instance, I became convinced that I’d really just made the whole thing up. If there really was someone inside and nothing untoward seemed to be going on, the kid had seemed perfectly happy after all, then it had to be a real house. And really, if it had been some big spooky master plan, then why would he have acknowledged me? I’ve been to the movie theatre. I know children in horror flicks can be creepy, but just straight up waving at me like I was just another neighbor and nothing was going on? Didn’t exactly set up the sinister mood that I figured would have come from the place.
And then a hand shot out and. The kid recoiled as it shut, looking disappointed that he’d been caught doing something it was evident he wasn't supposed to. And I snapped back into trusting myself and sticking with my gut. I didn’t like the look of that. At all. Unfortunately, my whole life, I’ve generally been prone to the third fear response rather than either of the useful ones: I freeze. This time was no different. I couldn’t bring myself to drive away.
[In the background, eerie music begins playing.]
I sat there in dead silence for what felt like hours with a vague feeling of unease hanging in the air when the door opened. A man stepped out, wearing this fine tailored suit that I’d seen clients wealthier than I would ever be wear into my office and carried himself with the confidence of a person that knows no one is going to cross them. Despite all that, his face was soft. Approachable. Kind, even. Seemed like the kind of guy that knew he had money, but was willing to help you if you’d just say thank you afterwards.
As he approached my car he called out to me: “Hello there!”
Nice and friendly. Even with the strangeness of a few moments ago and my lingering unease, I could hardly bring myself to believe that this man would do anything to me. Sure, I was still stuck to my seat in fear, but he seemed perfectly safe. Maybe that’s just what it’s like to be charismatic though, looking back. I wasn’t sure what to do at that point, but my pre-programmed social response got the better of me and I rolled down my window to meet him.
“Hi.” I said. Just a simple greeting until I could really figure out what was happening.
He put one hand on the top of my car and leaned down to meet my eyes. As he spoke, his smile never faded: “So… I take it… you can see this place?”
Well, I was so taken aback I wasn’t really sure what to say, so I just nodded. And the next thing he said, well… threw me a bit off. He stood up, brushed off his pants calmly, turned back to the house, began walking, and he just said-
[Record scratch, cutting the music off.]
ARCHIVIST:
Now there’s a profanity here that I will not repeat, but it seems Ayla’s statement finishes there.
[The Archivist sighs and shuffles their papers.]
ARCHIVIST:
There’s not much followup to be done here. Ayla gave us a street address, but didn’t actually tell us which house it was. [mutters] Perhaps she’s more of an idiot than she claims to be.
Regardless, upon investigating the street, nothing appeared to be out of the ordinary, though none of our staff were familiar enough with the area to tell which houses should and shouldn’t be there. In my personal opinion, this is a mere case of a poor attention span. I can’t blame Ayla, I suppose, but was it really worth coming here and telling a whole dramatic story over it?
[scoff] There are some other areas of this statement that leave room for questioning and research, such as the radio static and the house’s residents. For now, however, I will be filing this one under “Irrelevant” in my mind. End recording.
[Recorder clicks on.]
[Recorder clicks back on.]
[There’s footsteps as HR walks down the hall. They knock on the Archivist’s office door. Meanwhile, the Archivist can be heard moving something.]
HR:
[muffled] Uh, hello? I’ve got something for the Archivist.
ARCHIVIST:
Oh, uh, yes, of course. Just let me— [They curse as they are heard tripping over piles of statements.]
[A pause.]
HR:
...should I come back at a later time, or—?
[The door suddenly swings open.]
ARCHIVIST:
Right. Blimey. Sorry about that, mate. What’s all this, then?
HR:
Er, are you the head archivist?
ARCHIVIST:
That depends, who’s asking?
HR:
Your HR. I’m also an intern under Mr. Banks, which brings about a whole array of other useless titles, but for your purposes, I’m just HR. My name is Luca.
ARCHIVIST:
Oh! Lovely. Mr. Banks told me I’d be seeing you. Um, pleasure to meet you.
HR:
Thanks, you—wait, wh—?
ARCHIVIST:
[trying to change the subject] Say, why are you here, Luca? Any plans for after your internship? I mean, surely, you have a field of study, a career plan?
HR:
[slowly, growing increasingly confused] Oh, um, yeah. I, um—well, I started here—um, yeah, after my internship, I. Uh.
ARCHIVIST:
It’s alright if you don’t have a plan, y’know. Took me a while to figure all my stuff out, and, well, I got out alive, didn’t I?
HR:
No, it’s just—I know I have something, I just. Um. [desperately trying to change the subject] What are you doing in there, exactly?
ARCHIVIST:
[beat] Oh, just some housekeeping.
HR:
...and that required you to move an entire bookshelf?
[A long pause.]
ARCHIVIST:
Listen, I know what this looks like.
HR:
Doesn’t he have a weird thing about that?
ARCHIVIST:
[passionate] Which is exactly why I did it! I mean, they’re not the heaviest bookshelves in the world, so it’s certainly not a matter of safety.
HR:
[mutters] As if Mr. Banks has ever valued the life and safety of his employees.
[Both are heard walking back into the office towards where the bookshelf was.]
ARCHIVIST:
[cont.] Which means there must have been something weird about the bookshelf—and I was right. See, look, there’s like a weird...hole. Thing.
HR:
...I’m guessing that’s why Mr. Banks made me bring you a shovel?
ARCHIVIST:
Hm? Oh, right, the shovel. Kind of forgot I had asked for that.
HR:
How did you not notice I was carrying it when I came here?
ARCHIVIST:
You see, within the hole, there’s this big mound of dirt, and I have reason to believe that there’s something hidden beneath.
HR:
[They sniff, then, disgusted] Oh god, why does it smell like something died in there?
ARCHIVIST:
That’s what I’m trying to find out.
HR:
Look, can’t you just...I don’t know, leave it? Like, just put the bookshelf back, spray some air freshener, and then be done with it? I really don’t want to have to write this up.
ARCHIVIST:
You expect me to work under these conditions? Having a mysterious hole in my wall with no idea what’s lurking within?
HR:
Look, I just think this is a really stupid idea. If Mr. Banks finds out—
ARCHIVIST:
He’s not going to! You— [they huff a sigh.] Would you just hand me my shovel? I’m going in!
HR:
Whatever you say.
[HR hands the Archivist the shovel.]
ARCHIVIST:
Thank you.
[They are heard shoveling for some time, before the Archivist finally seems to hit something.]
HR:
Is...is that…?
ARCHIVIST:
My god.
HR:
That’s a dead body.
ARCHIVIST:
Appears to be. [beat.] Do you know who it is?
HR:
I mean, they’re sort of hard to recognize now.
ARCHIVIST:
Perhaps the previous archivist?
HR:
I dunno, I never knew them.
[A long pause.]
ARCHIVIST:
Right, then. Back to work. Mind helping me move this bookshelf?
HR:
(under their breath) God, I’m gonna have to write this up, aren’t I?
[Recorder clicks off.]

Part 6 - Keluarga
The flight home was thankfully an  uneventful affair.
Kayo had fallen asleep almost as soon as the jet’s door had been closed and Virgil had been by her side holding her hand the whole way back to their island.
When the island finally came into sight there was a collective sigh of relief. The stress of everything having sucked the energy right out of all of them and home meant safety, comfort and more importantly; sleep.
Tucking Kayo safely back into their marital bed saw Virgil relaxing for the first time since… well since he’d woken up that morning..God, had it only been twelve hours ago? It felt like a lifetime and the exhaustion weighed on him furiously.
Not that he would be able to get much sleep tonight.
Leaning over his sleeping wife,  he adjusted the sheets and brushed her forehead with a kiss.  She stirred slightly and turned into him, always one to seek his heat even on a tropical island and her eyes blinked open myopically.
“Shhh,  it’s okay.  We’re home.  Go back to sleep.”
Kayo snuggled further under the covers and quiet ‘Love you’  drifted his way as he emptied his pockets of his ID, wallet and personal communication.
A light knock on their door, had him turning and he toed off his boots to muffle his movements before he traversed the short distance.  Opening it he was only mildly surprised to find his brothers on the other side..  All of them.
Holding up a finger he glanced back into the room to make sure everything was in order and that Kayo would have everything she needed. Not that it looked like she would be rising anytime soon.  The whole affair of the day had done her in.
Truthfully, he was happy she was finally getting some rest even if it was ordered and dismantling Shadow had been in his back pocket as a way to convenience her.
Surprisingly though after going through all the details with his family when they were discharged, Kayo looked like she wasn’t in the mood for any more lecturing so the Shadow card hadn’t needed to be played.
She’d barely moved since they’d left the hospital except when he’d move her.   He’d woken her up long enough to pour a drink of electrolytes down her throat and a protein bar into her belly and she’d been out again barely after swallowing the lot.
An uncomfortable trip to the bathroom later which his Grandmother had seen to though he had been hovering just outside the door in case he was needed.  A change of clothes and into bed she went. Out like a light again before her head even hit the pillow.
He was done in himself but his brain was running in circles which didn’t look like it would be giving up anything time soon. So the company just outside the door was a welcome distraction.
Satisfied that his wife would be alright.  He set his comms to alert him if she woke up and carefully crept out the door.
“Hey Virg,”  Alan whispered, stepping up to his brother and giving him a hug.  “How’s Kay?  She gonna be alright?”
Virgil hugged his brother back,  taking the opportunity to ruffle his hair while he was at it.
Alan grumbled at the action and wiggled away.  Smoothing his hair back into place as soon as he was free  and Virgil couldn’t help the smile that upturned his lips at the disgruntled look his littlest brother shot him.
“Hey Space Case.  She’s sleeping but Doc said she’ll be alright. She just needs to get some rest.”
“Looks like you could use some yourself.”  Gordon observed and moved in for a hug as well.
“Thanks, Squid.  Glad you noticed.”
“Well someone has to keep you honest and Kayo..” His eyes did a sweep of him from head to toe. “Well, she’s blinded by all that muscle."
The swat Virgil sent the aquanau's way as easily dodged as he danced out of reach.
Laughing as he used Alan as a human shield who protested loudly at being manhandled,  he tossed out  “All that bulk is slowing you down,  you should lay off the protein shakes.”
Virgil just rolled his eyes.  Trust Gordon to do whatever he could to lighten the mood with whatever tomfoolery he had at his disposal.
It was at that point that he noticed John standing in the back of the crowd of brotherly forms.  “John, when did you get here?’
John just shrugged,  “Not long ago.  I came as soon as I could but that storm system off the coast made taking the elevator down impossible.
“It’s good to see ya in the flesh.” Virgil smiled, stepping forward enveloping the communications expert in a hug. John’s hugs were rare but the returned squeeze was given freely, a testament to the support system his brothers were offering.
“You too, brother mine.”
Scott stepped up next, though he’d been at the hospital with the couple. “Anything you need, let us know.”  He offered and the round of hugging continued.
“I know and I appreciate it.”
He could always count on his family when the chips were down,  there was no doubt about that.
Scott released him, one hand giving his shoulder a squeeze and tipped his head towards the door at Virgil’s back. “Doc’s made arrangements to come out in a couple weeks' time.  Just had the call come through with the details. Shouldn’t be a problem getting him out here for it.  Between us and Aunt Val we have plenty of pilots who can give him a lift.”
“Great,  I’m sure Kay will be thrilled.” The hand on his shoulder squeezed again and Scott gave him a knowing look.
“She’s a fighter.  Hates being benched just as badly if not more so than we do.”
“That’s what I’m worried about..”
“Meh don’t worry about it.  With the Great Doctor Sally Tracy with her sights set on her,  Kayo doesn’t stand a chance.” Gordon piped up.  “Trust me on that one. She’ll be lucky if she can manage to wiggle a toe without Grandma noticing.”
“Well she had to be super vigilant with you, Gordo. We still have no clue how you managed to change the electronic audio to Spanish from the couch.”
Gordon stood up taller,  primped in all his mastery of everything prankster.  “Trade secret. If I tell you, I would have to kill you.”
This time there was no dodging the swats directed at his head from three older siblings though Alan yet again shrieked in protest as he was tossed about like a sac of meat.
Sally was a practical woman with simple tastes and simple pleasures.   A night of bridge with the girls at the local social club,   bocce ball every other Tuesday with fellow medical alumni and curling once a month with her bereavement group who had become like an extended family to her after her husband had passed.
Simple things, never extravagant.
She grew up with the mentality that to get what you wanted took hard work and determination.  Blood, sweat and tears was her motto through her years of medical training and her intern placement in one of the busiest hospitals in the U.S.
She’d worked hard to get where she was today despite the trials and tribulations of being widowed, dealing with her own grief and that of her son’s and taking charge of his young brood while he wallowed in his pain.
She didn’t fault Jeff for his actions,  she understood them intimately.  She’d lost herself in taking care of the boys to help keep the pain at bay.  Oftentimes pushing them just as hard as she did herself. In the end though despite the odds, she thought everything had turned out all right.
Was the road easy?  No.  Far from it.   Was there things she wished she had handled differently?  Of course.  Her son disappearing into a bottle of despair being one of them.  But the boys had been raised well by their dear mother even if only for a short time.
The eldest who remembered her memory took that care, love and devotion their mother had been known for and poured it into the younger two.  Doing everything within the power of their shattered world to keep the family in one cohesive piece even when their father was absent both mentally and physically.
They’d survived and come out the other end stronger than anything she could have imagined and she wasn’t afraid to admit it and how proud she was of every single one of them.
And true form when one of the brothers stumbled the other four were right there to steady him and get him back on his feet. Providing whatever support that was needed in their own individual ways.
When others would bolt,  her boys rallied.  Diving in head first to shore up whoever was in need.  It’s what made them great at what they did. That core strength of love and support radiated out of everything they touched and because of that they’d helped more than she could count.
Here she was,  coming to check on her adoptive granddaughter and her loving boys where right were she expecting them to be.  Standing as a unit outside Virgil’s door.  Surrounding him and holding him up with hugs, pats on the back and caring words.
She stopped and kept back a few paces, letting them have their moment and watching all the love. They deserved this moment cause they were few and so far in between.
Rescuing the world didn’t leave much time for brotherly interaction and these precious moments needed to be cherished.
Leaning against the wall, she allowed a soft smile to grace her lips.  Something in her movement must have alerted her boys though because no sooner had she settled than one by one they turned her way.  Not surprised in the least to find her there.
She looked at them, taking in the details of the men they had grown into and she locked the details away for safekeeping.
Scott with the little licks of grey at his temple a sign of the stress the last years had put on them all but his eyes sporting the beginnings of laugh lines.
Virgil,  his quiet nature and artist spirit.  Steadfast even with his wife just feet away resting with their babe growing in her belly.   As worried as he was for he felt things more deeply than all of them he put on a brave face. Not wanting youngest brothers to see him waver even though she knew he was.
His eyes spoke volumes.  She could see the exhaustion and fear in them but even so he graced her with a small smile in return.;
John, her star baby.  When had he come down?  Shocked, she frowned slightly as she took in his uniform. He’d need to wear that for a while until he acclimated to Earth’s gravity again.. A downside to living in the stars so far away.   How he managed the isolations, she had no idea. He’d grown up in a house so full of life until there hadn’t been but he’d silently held on.  Striving to be the best at what he did.
Next was the vivacious Gordon.  Beams of sunshine in his hair and mischief in his eyes.  He’s seen and done a lot in his short life. Days so dark with despair as his broken body healed.  She’s spent many an hour sitting with him in the VA hospital watching and keeping him company as his body painfully knit itself back together again after every surgery but for all of it. He never complained with the exception of food.   Just grinned and bared it though she could see the cracks.  He'd come through it all, scarred and sporting a motley collection of surgical steel plates and bolts and kept on smiling.
And lastly her baby boy,  Alan. Her rocket man.   He’d missed so much in life.  A normal childhood, school, friends and typical boyhood misadventures.  First date,  prom, graduation but he’d still done the family proud and held his head up high.  He flew the stars and was living a dream most kids his age could only dream about.  A tender age but the top of his field and he got to fly a rocket ship.  What kid wouldn’t love that?
Her boys.  No, her men.  Through diversity and trauma they all stood tall and together.
Pushing away from the wall she went to them and was lost in a sea of hugs.

Hey Val! I love ur writing so so much and ur amazing! My request is maybe like a Tom Holland x Reader where Y/N is a famous actress and Paddy’s celeb crush, and one day Tom brings Y/N home to meet his brothers and Paddy is vying for her attention and Tom and Paddy get jealous of each other? Thanks in advance if u decide to write this!💕
thank you so much love!! i took forever on this i’m sorry :( please enjoy
-
“you’re dating who?” paddy gawks, harry snickering at him from across the table. tom leans back in his chair. “y/n y/l/n. you’ve heard of her, haven’t you?” he clasps his hands behind his head. “i’ve seen all her movies at least twice. i… i love her!” his youngest brother beams. “so do i,” tom playfully challenges.
“darling, you should bring her by tomorrow. sam’s cooking us dinner,” nikki suggests with a supportive smile. hearing his name mentioned, sam peeks up from his phone. “since when?” “since your brother has a girlfriend he’s only just told us about!” she nudges tom’s shoulder. tom bites back the grin growing on his lips. “a girlfriend he loves, at that.”
“he’s not the only one,” harry comments and glances at paddy, whose whole face has gone red. “i guess i could whip something up. i’m visiting the shops later,” sam agrees with a nod at tom. he winks back. “thanks, mate.” turning to his mom, tom’s own face gets warm. “sorry i haven’t said anything, mum. we’ve been trying to keep our relationship on the low. dating in hollywood is…”
“a shit show,” nikki finishes for tom. her words make him chuckle. “exactly. we wanted to make sure we were ready before bringing in the rest of the world.” eager as ever, paddy speaks up again. “i think we’re the perfect people to start with, specifically me.” that earns a quirked eyebrow from tom. “easy there, padster man.” he looks him over, trying to figure out his motives. “if i didn’t know any better, i’d say you were trying to steal my girl.”
paddy points at him with a glint in his eyes tom has never seen. “you don’t know any better.”
the family gets back to their conversation, talking about what you’re like and how their dad’s gigs are going. tom is a bit distracted, though. he isn’t sure what paddy meant by that. realistically, he knows he won’t be stealing you away. there’s a huge age gap among other things. it seems to tom like paddy has a crush on you, a big one. he’s probably just excited to meet you. that’s good, right?
tom doesn’t think about it again until arriving back at his parents’ the next day. you’re with him this time, nervously clutching at your purse in one hand while your free one squeezes his. he frowns at your fidgeting.
“y/n… they’re gonna love you, sweetheart,” he assures you, his thumb stroking the back of your hand. “how do you know?” you wonder as you two walk up the steps. “because i love you, and i think paddy’s got a thing for you as well.” he’s smirking when he tells you this. scoffing, you curl into tom’s side. “i love you too, but what’s up with paddy?” you stand next to tom on the porch. he rings the doorbell before replying.
“he’s watched your whole filmography, all your interviews,” tom explains, shaking his head lightheartedly. “i’m sure there’s a poster or two of you in his room somewhere.” you pout your lower lip out. “aw, so he’s a fan?” “he’s my competition,” he jokes. your head falls onto tom’s shoulder with a sigh. “he’s a literal child, tom… and your brother.” you glance up at him wickedly. “maybe i can sign his posters. i think he’d like that.”
tom slips his arm around your waist, hearing footsteps come towards the door. “oh, paddy would be thrilled,” he confirms. your response is a hum as the front door swings open. “tom, darling. back so soon?” nikki teases her son, then gives you the warmest grin. “you must be y/n. we haven’t heard much about you, but we will.” you return the smile and let her take your hand to guide you inside.
after all the introductions, you gather outside to sit and talk. sam is in the kitchen cooking, nikki is helping him, and harry is setting the table. that leaves you with tom and paddy. they’re on either side of you, your head on tom’s shoulder and his arm around both of yours. paddy is talking about a school project while you nod along. he’s completely harmless, contrary to how tom described him.
“the deadline is next friday, but i’ve only just started,” paddy explains, you laughing softly. tom’s lips brush your ear. “i’m gonna look for something to drink. do you want anything?” he speaks in a whisper and trails his fingertips over your shoulder. “sure, tommy. whatever you’re having, thanks,” you reply with a kiss to the back of his hand. paddy clenches his jaw as he watches you two.
“what about you, pads? soda?” tom teases and earns a giggle from you. “i told you not to call me that,” paddy groans back. he scrunches his face up when tom reaches over you to ruffle his hair. “someone’s got to put you in your place. soda it is.” “don’t take too long.” you tilt your head back to look at tom. “i won’t.” he licks his lips before pressing them to yours, trying to deepen it form the angle.
“children are present,” you remind him, sitting back up promptly. “be a good boy and get our drinks.” “ok, fine. i’m going,” tom laughs out, pecking your cheek and standing from the couch. paddy rolls his eyes when his brother finally gets inside. he hates being thought of as a child by you, even if he is one. “so,” you start to fill the silence. “what else are you-“
“i think you’re an incredible actress,” paddy says instead with an innocent smile. “really? thank you so much.” you rest your head in your hand, grinning. “tom kinda told me already. he said you’ve seen all my movies.” “did he?” paddy repeats bitterly. he’d probably made him sound obsessed. you’re still grinning. “mhm, and that you might have posters of me.” his eyes widen, cheeks flushing a deep pink. he’ll never let tom in his room again.
“between you and me…” you look behind you to make sure tom isn’t coming. paddy scoots closer to you and nods. “i think tom is a little jealous.” “he should be,” paddy mumbles to himself. that doesn’t stop you from hearing. “what are you-“ “how about you help me with my project? i could use the extra hands,” he smoothly changes the subject. must be a holland thing.
“let’s wait until after dinner. tom is gonna be back soon, anyway,” you try to reason. you’re only fueling the fire by saying that. “i need to use all the time i have. come with me!” he’s grabbing your hands before you can protest again. you end up following paddy to his room, tom still sucked into a conversation with the rest of his family. harry sees you two pass by. he murmurs a div to paddy.
when tom gets back outside with two beers and a coke, you and paddy are gone. he frowns, heading to the kitchen once again.
“has anyone seen y/n?” he wonders and scans the room for you. “i think paddy stole her.” “they’re in his room. he just brought her up,” harry replies, his lips forming a line. a bit of anger bubbles in tom upon hearing this. “dinner is nearly done!” nikki gasps. “bring them back down,” sam requests. setting the drinks on the counter, tom sighs. “will do. give me a minute.”
tom’s annoyance only grows as he ascends the stairs. he can hear your giggling from behind the bedroom door, obviously caused by paddy. it’s silly that he’s so jealous of his baby brother, but he knows him well.
the door opens to reveal you laying stomach down on the floor and paddy on his bed. you’re autographing a picture of yourself while he gets books together for his assignment. tom isn’t sure what he was expecting, though he’s relieved this is all it is.
“oh, tom!” you notice him standing in the doorway and cap the pen. “you were right about the posters, babe.” “i see.” tom clicks his tongue. paddy scowls at his brother. “i can’t believe you told her,” he grumbles, you handing him the signed photograph. “no, it’s fine! i think it’s really sweet.” his face relaxes. “nevermind, then.” he’s now making heart eyes at you, tom inhaling a sharp breath.
“y/n/n, can i talk to you?” he asks quietly, eyes flitting over to paddy. “in private?” “um, yeah. i’ll be right back, okay?” you tell paddy with an apologetic smile. he shoots you a thumbs up, tom stepping aside so you can leave the room. “mum wants you for dinner in five, actually,” tom corrects. he’s quick to close the door behind him so he doesn’t have to hear complaints.
you’re leaning against the wall, arms crossed over your chest. tom walks up to you cautiously. “what the hell was that?” you squint at him. “i came back with the drinks, and you were gone,” he answers lowly, and not to your satisfaction. “which doesn’t answer my question.” “i… well…” tom huffs childishly. “paddy’s whisked you away! i wanted you to spend the night with my family, yeah?” he sets his hands on your hips.
putting your own hands on both his shoulders, you look at him knowingly. “babe, paddy is your family. there’s nothing wrong with some one on one time.” tom stares down at the floor while rubbing his thumb over your hip. he doesn’t say anything. “so what if he has a little crush on me? he’ll get over it.” you take a step closer to him. “what makes you think that?” tom chews his lower lip.
“he’s just starstruck. and, i’m his future sister in law,” you confidently respond, finally making tom perk up. he exhales a laugh and pulls your body against his, leaving a warm kiss on your forehead. “bonding isn’t such a bad idea after all.” “mm, i told you,” you bury your face in the crook of his neck. paddy leaves his room then, his face falling at the sight in front of him. this time, tom puts his pettiness aside.
“get in here, padster man. we’ve got room for one more.”

🍍  :    how comfortable is my muse in their body?  how do they feel about their height,  weight,  strength,  and body type?  how important is being attractive to them?
Tumblr media
OKAY THIS IS GONNA GET LONG SO IT IS GOING UNDER A CUT. Also, a very evident tw for issues with body image, weight, eating disorders, emotional abuse & things of that nature so please read this at your discretion. I will state however this is important to why Barbie is the way she is and why she acts the way she is.
It depends on the day. Barbie loves herself and the world to a degree but at the same time Barbie does hate herself. And she hates what she looks like. A lot of this has to do with the fact Barbie was in modeling since she was a child and some of it also has to do with the fact Barbie was a corpo. She struggles a lot with the acceptance of other people genuinely liking her and this stems from her issues with her parents. When Barbie was a toddler and her beauty was commented on constantly and finally realized by her parents who had been absent for most of her life until that point they only got involved because she was a pretty kid. They got involved because their daughter was pretty and that meant she could be famous which meant they could climb ladders in a Corporate settings, especially if they were her managers. Which is exactly what they did.
Tumblr media
Barbie’s parents never told her they loved her. They did, one time, actually and it was after she got her contract with a company under Arasaka when she was 17. They didn’t look at her when they said it though. They looked past her to the pen and paper on the desk. They loved where they had positioned themselves and were now actually being asked to manage more and other people under similar contracts to their daughter. This also contributed to why Barbie doesn’t have a last name and her scans only read as Barbie. She wants to just be an entity a person that just helps, she doesn’t want to be a big name forever because of Star Marion, herself, always being Star Marion. Never Star, never herself. The Marion’s being big corporate managers, the ones who made the super model industry. They made it by using Barbie for her beauty and she hates that, she hates that she and her family were such big contributors to a quick hack in how to get up the Corpo ladder, it makes her sick, and she sees parents sometimes when she wakes up in the morning and looks in the mirror.
Growing up Barbie had a really strict life that was schedule down to the second. She had set times to shower, set times to eat and a set thing of what and how much she could eat. Barbie struggled to eat due to this, she either ate too quickly because of her schedule and then had to run and do a lot of things which made her really sick or, the food wasn’t enough and she effectively had trauma team show up a few times because she slowly became extremely sick which often resulted in losses of consciousness on sets or while doing daily tasks. Barbie’s parents had them all moved to a location where Trauma Team wouldn’t be as noticed and it was easier to cover up. Eventually her parents were able to strike a deal with Trauma Team if Barbie was involved a better more quiet way to handle her situation. Barbie’s health was always blamed on her and not her schedule or her eating or her habits of it. This reflects really heavily when she opens Dreamhouse, the reason she makes a lot of food available at low prices is so people get to actually eat. While Barbie still struggles to make sure she eats enough or at all on most given days she has gotten a lot better especially with help from people she has opened up to about her issues with eating and drinking water. It’s a lot easier now that she is running a bar and is around them a lot but she often times got sick or threw up while she was working for her parents because of that stuff. It was never noticed and she kept it under really good wraps but she struggled with it a lot.
Tumblr media
Barbie also heavily struggles with her identity and her beauty while she is in Night City. This is really evident in her drastic quick gain of tattoos and cyberwear. Barbie got 43 tattoos in a really quick time span, the cover her body and are all sticker based and childish like, you can see all of them on her pin board here. Her cyberwear is on her neck, her temple different sections of her arms as she does have monowires, her palms both of them for tech guns and an extensive amount to help with her durability in her skelton and nervous systems. It brings her a feeling of strength and like my body is mine and isn’t being used for cash money but it doesn’t last long which is why it got out of hand so quickly. The problem is that this also happened the few weeks that she first started out on her own, Barbie threw herself into Night City, and she threw herself into it hard while she was away from her boys (King & Val) and when she sees them again she looks completely different. Obviously she tells them she wants that Night City look but in reality the reason Barbie got her tattoos and got her cyberwear was to try and convince and feel like she had control over her own image and her body. It’s gotten a lot better the longer she has been on her own and in Night City however, sometimes she stands in her penthouse and just stares at herself in the mirror. She has a lot of moments of kind of just these out of body experience and she sat there once for a few hours because she just didn’t feel like she was like in control of how she looked and what she looked like. The way Barbie feels about her body is always really complex because of the way beauty standards are and have always been in the world.
Something that is really important to note though is that not everything that came from that experience and what this has done to her has been negative. Part of why Barbie does everything she can to be nice in Night City is because of how unkind the modeling world and corpo world was to her. She hurts, she struggles with her self image and her identity but she is using that as a way to get herself to where she needs to be in order to destroy what put that in her life. Barbie made Dreamhouse have a greeter station so people would get complimented and feel cared for when they answer the question of the day. Barbie compliments people constantly, genuinely too it isn’t the, your really pretty compliments, she will sit there and in the middle of a conversation go, I love the way you do x I think it’s beautiful and inspiring. She pushes herself to do that in order to help promote better thinking of herself and other people. If she can find something to love about everyone she meets then she can find one thing to love about herself. And she does. It was a couple months after this she started writing all over the mirrors in her house things she liked about herself, she cleans them off every month to make new lists but she writes until they are full.
Tumblr media
When it comes to the question of if being attractive is important to her that’s just as complex a relationship as how she feels about her body. Barbie was taught from the moment she was born that her beauty was everything. Her relationship with her parents stemmed from it, her career came from it her value in the world was because she was pretty. She knows being as attractive as she is as a fixer is helpful too even if she doesn’t admit it, she knows and it sucks but that’s the world. She tries to use the eddies to make it seem more like that but the status of her being attractive and paying well is what brings people to her. Barbie hates to say it, and even things it but with herself but being attractive means something, and it always will. Deep down, she knows that the only reason it means anything is because the people who were supposed to love her, and never did put so much weight on it and part of Barbie is still desperate for the love of family, for love in general that throwing away how she looks is too much. She destroyed Star Marion to be here, but she could and can never destroy the importance of her own beauty and it literally kills her. She hates herself for it. How attractive other people are carries little weight though, she is a personality person she always has been but when it comes to herself it is the reverse. As bubbly and fun and happy is she is Barbie struggles with her own happiness, self love and joy because of how much weight she puts on her own beauty. And honestly that is not her fault but literally because of how she was raised.
It has gotten a lot better because of her friends, again mainly with the acceptance of herself as Star and then as Barbie with both Val and King, whom have played a significant role in her being able to be happier. To be honest, to see how they both shifted in accepting her when she was Star into how close they became as she became her true self and Barbie has had a really profound impact on how Barbie feels about herself. She is, needless to say most days a lot better because if anything at the end of the day she knows she is good enough for the two most important people in her life and that’s really all that matters. Sure, she has her issues with self love and acceptance because of her parents but most days, the good ones, she is okay with how she is and how she looks because if she fell into a vat of acid and came out like a monster, she knows Val and King would still be around and still love and care for her. And that’s the big one. That’s the important thing. She still keeps her issues with her body image under wraps, and hasn’t said much to them about it, subtle hints here and there but she is, and will always be learning to accept herself and rely less on her looks because of them and learning how to be a person because of them.
Tumblr media
Her support system has played a very important role in how Barbie sees herself and is something that is and will always still grow as she develops as a character. She will always struggle with these things but they will get better as time progresses on here and in threads. But this is a very real issue that people in that work and world face and something that is very real for her. The one and only thing Barbie loves about herself, which has become super useful is her height though, and that is the one thing she will always love about herself and is the first thing she likes to bring up if the question is ever asked. So it isn’t all negative or bad thoughts, a lot of it is, but that doesn’t mean it all is.

Left Behind - Chapter 32
PART 1 / PART 2
Chapter 22 / Chapter 23 / Chapter 24 / Chapter 25 / Chapter 26 / Chapter 27 / Chapter 28 / Chapter 29/ Chapter 30 / Chapter 31
It hadn’t been Val’s plan to go the the simulator quite so soon after they had gotten home, but John had said something about familliarising himself with Thunderbird Three and Alan had been on the edge of another teenage temper tantrum. It had seemed like the easiest compromise to diffuse the situation.
When she had heard Thunderbird Two launch, both had looked at each other, concern on both their faces. A quick call upstairs had confirmed the launch to rescue a father and son trapped aboard an out of control hot air balloon. John seemed to have taken control of the situation, claiming his mother’s desk to work from whilst Scott had hovered over his shoulder.
Val had left the pair to it, trusting both to support each other and hoping they would manage to find their feet quickly whilst on the clock. John had been right, they did need a full time qualified pilot for Thunderbird Three, and when she had looked into it his stats from both NASA and the simulators placed him as the best man for the job.
 Except, perhaps, his younger brother.
As a challenge she had thrown up the live feed from Little Lightning, Beta Team had launched just as they had arrived home with Lucy. A TV satellite knocked out of orbit and into the path of another orbiting station needed realigning. Alan had taken it in his stride, reacting exactly as the other team had done, talking through his actions and glancing up to her for reassurance.
The kid was still just a teenager though, not even old enough to drive or vote. Lucy had made it clear, he had to do it the same way as his brothers, specialist training at the academy. He wouldn’t be allowed near an actual Thunderbird for another five years.
Not that Val could see him waiting patiently.
“What’s your closing distance?” She prompted, hovering at his shoulder, the first time he was flying without someone as Copilot to assist his actions.
“Thirty meters.” He responded with only the briefest of pauses, “Rotational vector still matched. Twenty meters… Ten.”
The simulator jolted as the grappling arms engaged, lights above Alan’s head turning green to indicate a secure lock.
 “Confirm successful lock?”
 He nodded.
“Verbally.” She prompted again, “Remember your black box can’t see what you’re doing.”
“Lock to satellite successful.” Alan confirmed, “Firing thrusters to counter spin.”
She kept watching as her phone buzzed in her pocket, making Alan look up with a grin,
“I didn’t think there was any signal in space?”
Laughing, she shook her head at him, “You watch your flying,” Glancing to the caller ID she frowned slightly, “Take her for a spin, but don’t crash whilst I’m EVA.”
Alan sat straighter, eyes wide as she turned away and left him to it, stepping out of the simulator before she answered the call.
 “Casey.”
 “Val, it’s Ridley.”
She had known the from the caller ID, what she didn’t know was why she was receiving the call.
“Not that it isn’t nice to hear from you Ridley,” She smiled perching on the steps up to the simulator, “But I would have thought you’d call John.”
Ridley tutted softly, “I didn’t want to stick an idea in his head before I’d okayed it with someone higher up.”
Val hummed and tilted her head to herself slightly, “Scott would be the one to speak to in that case.”
“Scott won’t like what I have to say.”
Val couldn’t help but snort as she looked down from the training balcony to the rest of the hangar where Thunderbird One sat, belly open and guts spilled out across the floor.
“So you want me to tell him to listen?” She asked, shifting to stand so she could watch Hiram and his pet robot as they organised the mess of wires trailing from the ship.
“The parts have arrived here for Thunderbird Five’s retrofit. I know the focus is on Lucy right now, but from what John and I have read and understood, this retrofit is our best chance at finding out if Jeff is out there.”
Val sighed, they had all read the update Kyrano had provided them with to ensure everyone was on the same page regarding Gaat, the Mechanic, and Jeff. How much he had downplayed Lucy’s desperation, Val wasn’t sure. On reflection, it explained a lot though. Lucy had been antsy for weeks, constantly chasing an order for parts and making a point of reminding them that Five was due an upgrade.
An upgrade she had insisted on completing.
“John said the upgrades were based on a program he wrote, he probably has a better idea than anyone on what needs to be done up there.”
With the explanation, the problem became clear.
“Scott still isn’t convinced John should be on the team.” She sighed, “I am working on persuading him.”
“As is John,” Ridley murmured, “I don’t understand why Scott won’t let him up there immediately. This is their father we’re talking about.”
Val knew the exact problem, but she knew she couldn’t voice it to Ridley.
Whether it was fate or convenience, she would never know, but it was right at that moment that Scott walked across the hangar floor to talk to Hiram.
Dropping her voice, Val turned back to the simulator, “Make plans for John and yourself to go up to Five for a week. I’ll speak to Scott.”
The smile was clear in her voice even across the line, “F.A.B. Val.”
“Scott!” She called across the cavern as she leant over the raillings of the balcony, “Get up here.”
The frown he shot at her was visible even at the distance, making Val roll her eyes. The young man took more after his father than he realised, the furrowed brows and deep lines that cut into his forehead when something bothered him. Like his father, Scott would never admit it, not openly at least.
She was still leaning on the railing when Scott approached her from behind, his frown deeper again as he stood next to her.
 “What is it?”
She kept her focus on thunderbird One as she spoke, “That parts have come in to upgrade Five.”
His swallow was visible as he turned and leant on the railing alongside her, hands clasped together in a single fist as he took a long slow breath and let it out.
“I’m not sure that should be a priority right now.” He uttered, “We haven’t exactly the man power.”
“We could spare John and Ridley.”
 “No.”
The statement was quiet but firm. Scott had a decision made and it wasn’t going to be easy to make him change.
“Your father could be out there Scott.”
His head dipped, eyes screwed shut as his forearms tensed. The dimples in his cheeks deepened as he pressed his lips together, shaking his head.
“I know.” He whispered, “I knew all along alright? But she told me not to get involved! To worry about keeping my team safe.”
“Scott,” She started, watching him carefully, able to feel the hurt and anger radiating from him.
“No. Listen Aunt Val.” He snapped, blue eyes snapping open and piercing her, “Mom is down there in a coma because she made a rash decision. For once in her life she made a decision based on how she felt and what she wanted, and it damn near killed her.”
She wanted to cut in, break him off and make him see that it wasn’t the case. The floodgates had opened though and she would have been fighting against the tide.
“It was my rash decisions that made her tell me to not get involved.” His voice dropped again, the rush of the flood gone as quickly as it had come, reduced to a trickle.
“I can’t trust myself to make a decision on this. Not when we almost lost Mom. Not when it could mean losing someone else.”
It was as Val had expected, a man with the weight of his family’s safety on his shoulders and a fear that he wasn’t the right person to protect them. Except he was forgetting just how that fear helped him.
“Don’t you think,” She murmured, reaching out to touch his arm, “That being afraid will make you more cautious? That it could remind you to stop and think before you sent your brothers out there, or did something yourself?”
He nodded with a sigh, “Yeah. It does. I was going to go with Virgil before John sent him on his own. I thought it would be safer than using the autopilot and wrist controls.”
His point was right, and she made a mental note to bring it up with John later.
“Good,” She nodded, “So what’s the danger with sending John and Ridley to Five for a week?”
Scott snorted, shaking his head again, “Space.”
It sounded like the single word was meant to answer her question. Scott must have seen the confusion on her face though as he continued.
“Space is the worst, it only takes one tiny thing to go wrong for everything to go wrong. And when it goes wrong, it goes wrong in a big way. Do you know how many space calls IR gets that we physically can’t respond to fast enough?”
“What if there was a way to respond faster?”
Val turned, wary of the voice of her second nephew at such a vulnerable moment for Scott. Not that she needed have worries, John was a master of managing his older brother and apparently knew that approaching too close at that moment was a bad idea.
“Rids and I would watch each others backs. Plus if we were up there semi permenantly, we could respond to those calls that  would take too long otherwise.”
It didn’t seem to phase him that Scott hadn’t turned to look at him. From where she stood, Val could see that the oldest didn’t want to be listening to John. That he hadn’t simply walked away from the conversation was definitely promising.
“Dispatch are getting more calls by the day, too many for the current team to handle. Five acts as relay for the calls anyway and I’ve run comms enough times for NASA--”
Scott turning to face him cut John off. Val stood straighter, ready for the eldest to snap at the younger.
“You said you needed to join as someone to fly Thunderbird Three. Now you want to sit up on the space station and run comms?”
John shook his head, “With the space pods we could still run rescues from up there. Little Lightening would be able to manage most other space rescues, Thunderbird Three would only be needed for anything further than the Moon.” He tilted his head with a small smile, “I thought it might make it seem a little less like I was stealing Alan’s ship.”
Val glanced to the simulator that had long since become still and quiet. She wondered where Alan had got to, if he’d heard the conversation and was simply remaining quiet, or if he hadn’t heard a thing.
Scott’s face fell as he sighed, looking away with a shake of his head, still clearly not convinced about the whole suggestion.
“This is our chance at finding Dad, Scott.” John murmured, “We can’t pass that up, can we?”
Val would have looked back to Scott, except movement from the corner of the simulator caught her eye. Alan approached, looking to John with wide eyes.
“You can’t live in space all the time though John! It’s dangerous. I don’t mind you flying Three, not really. I was just being a brat before.”
John shook his head, “It won’t be all the time Alan, we’d work out a rotation or something.”
“You’d do that?” Scott raised an eyebrow, “Actually work on rotation? You won’t get obsessed?”
John scoffed and shook his head, “Coming from you?”
Val could see his point, the eldest pair were as bad as one another for becoming too determined in their goals. She’d seen it before, each of them becoming obsessed with something so wholly that it took over their entire lives.
In her eyes Scott was the one at a higher risk of falling into that trap.
“I have Ridley now,” John shrugged, “She’ll keep me straight.”
Scott’s sigh was loud in the open space, his shoulders tense as he shook his head, “If you get in to trouble out there…”
“You can ground me for the rest of my life.” John shrugged, “We always said Scott, five of us, five ships.”
“Best place for star gazing.” Alan murmured, eyes widening, “Hey, maybe I can--”
“No.” Both older brothers stated, making Val snort as she shook her head. At least there was something the pair of them could agree on, even if Alan didn’t approve.
“So?” She prompted, “Does this mean we can get Ridley to bring the parts over when she comes home?”
Scott shrugged and nodded to John, “Talk to him about it, she’s his girlfriend.”
John grinned, “Oh so it’s going to be like that is it?”
Val had to hide her snigger behind a cough as she shook her head at the pair. Yes, she didn’t doubt, it would be exactly like that.
