Hi! Apologies if this is a silly question, but are you currently open to doing slightly larger scale commission work? I've seen posts about adoptables and smaller fusions, and just wanted to check as I adore your art style and figure who better to ask about a pokemon related project? xD If not that's 10,000% fine and I understand completely, but I figured the question you never ask is the one you never know the answer to you know?
Not silly at all, I’m fine with people asking.
Yesterday I had to ship my drawings tablet to LA, so I am officially without a serious piece of hardware to do the bigger pieces. I still have a small tablet and that’s why I can do the fusions and fakemons. Until I’m reunited with my stuff, I can’t take on big jobs I’m afraid, could be a month, could be in may. Honestly it’s just me waiting around for a visa approval so after that I can get the other side and start to take on the big ones again.
I will post publicly when I do, but feel free to jump in my DMs and ask if you want a quote for when I can pick the work up, big pieces aren’t cheap so knowing what you may need to pay ahead of time is a good thing, so you can save up.
Hope this helps/clarifies ect :)

I got to say, I love your take on Pokémon legend Arceus so far. You certainly didn't pull your punches with that one! The game alone has a bunch of potential for angst, and I can't wait to see what you cook. Anyways, remember to stretch and stay hydrated and as always, Have a good day prof!
I'm doing a more adult take, seeing as a lot of fans arent kids anymore! Im glad youre liking it, the themes will be more complex and mature in nature, but i hope to still weave in pokemon facts in every chapter, even if theyre in passing comments, seeing as Peach is babysitting the PC (Rei) who doesnt know as much, its an opportunity for her to teach, even if its somewhat reluctant at the start. I am finally free of ridiculous deadlines and stress, the planning for chapter 2 is finished, and i can start to refine and change up camera angles, shot layouts and the flow of this all. Sadly i am going to be seperated from my tablet for a month or two max so i'll be working slow, but as soon as my move across the world is done, ill be reunited with my tablet and can smash out pages! Im not going to lie, im frustrated about the wait, its ready to go and i cant get stuck in haha! But so be it, i have to accept i cant do comic work for a short while and then get stuck in on nothing else that end. I feel awful with the delays, I want to bring you all this story! It reveals a lot of peachs past, who she is, her family, and expands on the pokemon world, shows so much more to species often overlooked, and makes an ok game the base for (hopefully) a compelling story about someone who gets broken down so far, and built back twice as strong.
I struggle to not gush about it all the time to be honest with you! hahaha it's my precious passion project, and ive poured years into the planning of this, to hand it out freely and hope others enjoy as much as i have. I hope i dont let you all down!

How is your island funded? With such facilities it seems rather crazy that it would be able to sustain over the funds gained from the various events especially since many seem to be free.
A combination of Private donors, Government funded research programs, fun raisers, and building rentals. The hotel, ans all shops and seasonal vendors pay a fee to rent on the grounds, and capitalise off the heavy footfall, while offering services and goods. While we offer free courses as often as possible, there are also paid ones, and training to students willing to work hard, and thus we get subsedies from education programs that way too, along side payment for specialised classes, or limited exhibits. For example, we hold an Orchid show in the winters that you have to pay for, buying a ticket gets you into a secret show. This is one of many examples. Along side the solid store vendors we also hold regular events that bring in others crafts and sellers, so tables and shacks set up, each renting space.
Theres also the pokemon training schemes where our staff work closely with species who can work with other pokemon or humans off island, adopted out to assist in healthcare or environmental studies and sustainability. This program is paid for.
Along side this adoptions have fees, so anyone who finds a pokemon here and they get along, will have to cover a small cost.
It's a collection, and thankfully we have a fair few donators who keep us floating, seeing the purpose of the work done.

I always assumed that the island's Pokémon were the defence system.
Oh they're certainly part of it. And never knowing whos where makes for a random roster of what can hit you trying to attack the shores. Hard for any nefarious sorts to counter if they dont know what theyre up against.
And lets face it, its the security, battle staff, and professors you gotta watch out for along side the pokemon, and security systems.
The islands garnered a reputation for a reason.

I have a question, what even are the island’s defence systems anyways? I mean other than Peach and all of the other professors
Now if I went around telling people, surely that infomation could be used against the Island. All the public need to know is that there are security measures in place, and as of yet they have not been overrun. Staff, patients and visitors should feel safe in the knowledge that the island is overseen well but discretely.

What is the maximum amount of support pokemon for a person? Like can I just have a team of pokemon just helping me while I have a seperate team of pokemon to battle with? Of course they will have their free time (obviously), but I really just like the idea of multiple pokemon just following me around like a posse. Thanks!
While most officials in various regions will not be comfortable with any one trainer carrying more than 6 mons around, each case has a varying degree of leniancy.
The rules tend to circulate the notion that if you cannot care for the pokemon you have, and keep them in good health, then you may need a human assistant instead. This is a two way street as they also need to keep you safe and well too, but you are still their primary care giver, and it should never be seen the other way around.
Most regions limit assistant mons while travelling to three, but you can apply for varying paperwork to increase that number, and plead your case to a board of selected local specialists in that field of work. The most i've ever seen was a team of 5 care mons, and four fighting pokemon for a battle circuit. I have heard of more being utilised, but never seen it personally.
If you arent travelling then the number can increase, especially if you live in a secure environment with your care pokemon. With adequate space, time, funds and resources, you may keep many pokemon with you at home as care assistants, given they're provided for.
All that matters is your paperwork is up to scratch, and that your care pokemon are being treated with due respect and concern. If you have that in place, can give them the correct time and energy, and can prove you need as many as you think you do, then most places are allowing.
