“Daddy I miss mommy!” You whined jumping into Steve’s ams as he repositioned you so you were sitting on his arm.

“I know you do baby, I do too but she’s gonna be home in a few days I promise” he sighed leading you to the living room giving you a small smile as he helped you sit down.

Natasha was gone on a mission with Clint and tony to a hydra base in Moscow, Steve was supposed to go with them but your caregivers decided that one of them should stay behind with you after the fuss you caused last time they went on a mission and auntie wanda and uncle vision had to babysit you.

You were always a handful when you didn’t have one of them to calm you down.

“I’ll tell you what little one, what if we take your nap now because I don’t think you had enough sleep last night and if your less tired things might seem brighter” steve suggested with a soft smile tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.

Steve was always able to get you to cooperate.

“Okay daddy” you whispered reaching your arms up to him making grabby hands. Chuckling Steve picked you up on his hip and led you towards your bedroom.

Once you reached the large door Steve pushed down the handle and led the two of you inside.

Gently placing you down on your mattress Steve brought your dummy to your lips and placed your black widow bear beside you.

“Daddy stay with me please” you gently demanded cuddling into your bear becoming sleepy “okay princess” Steve heartily laughed carefully laying himself down beside you pulling you against him.

“Sweet dreams little one”

When you woke up the compound was quiet.

Too quiet for your liking.

“Daddy” you mumbled softly reaching over too feel him you frowned when you just felt the cool mattress where Steve previously was.

“Daddy?” You questioned again opening your eyes to find him, he wasn’t there.

Rolling over to the other side of the bed you reached your dummy placing it back in your mouth from where it fell out while you were asleep and made your way across the threshold and down the staircase.

You were greater with hushed whispers of Bucky and tony “uncle Bucky, uncle tony do you know where daddy is?” You mumbled behind your dummy skipping down the stairs and making your way over to them.

The two of them shared a look and you saw tony pull out his phone and send a text to Steve’s number “umm, sorry little doll-“ “he’s just in Bruce’s lab sweetheart” tony cut in earning a pointed look from Bucky.

“It’s okay he told me to say it!” Tony defended himself with his trademark stark smirk resulting in an eye roll from Bucky “come on Y/N I’ll take you to them” Bucky said with a smile extending his arm for you to take.

Leading you across the building Bucky nervously looked out the windows, this wasn’t going to be good.

Once you reached the medical room you were met with a see through door only accessible by a security code, neither of you knew it so uncle Bucky just banged on the glass until Bruce let you in.

“You could have just called me” he deadpanned about to go off at Bucky about damaging the glass with his vibranium arm until he noticed you and the dummy in your mouth.

“Hi sweetheart, Steve’s just in here” he said gently leading you though to the medical curtain, pulling it back you saw Steve sitting at the end of the bed with Natasha lying down.

Mommy was back, but why was she attached to a drip?

“Mommy?” You whispered nervously playing with the sleeve on your shirt. Looking towards you you saw Nat smile happily and reach out for you with one arm.

“Hi baby, come here come to mommy” she called out gently, slowly making your way towards the bed you heard steve speak “did you have a nice sleep sweetheart?” He cooed trying to distract you “why is mama sick” you cried ignoring his question.

“Oh baby it’s okay shh, I’m not sick I just had a bit of an accident” she chuckled holding your hand gently dragging you closer to her “what happened?” “Well” she sighed.

While the 3 avengers were on their mission they gravely underestimated how many agents the hydra base had on standby. They were able to get the files they needed but unfortunately for Natasha, the other two were to busy fending off other agents and Natasha ended up being shot in the shoulder.

“It’s nothing serious angel mommy’s gonna be okay” Steve smiled rubbing his hand on your back “promise” “I promise my baby” Natasha cooed reassuringly stroking your cheek with her other arm.

“Tell you what baby how about we move another bed over and you can lie down with mommy hmm?” Steve asked moving from where he was previously seated and stroking your hair “yes please!” You squealed making them chuckle.

A few minutes later steve returned with a medical bed that Bruce had let him use and he placed it beside Natasha helping you hop on, you always liked hospital beds you didn’t know why people thought they were uncomfortable.

It was a few days later until Bruce discharged Natasha from the med bay and when he did you were very happy when she was allowed to come out.

You spent the rest of her helping time taking care of her, bringing her orange juice in your favourite cup letting her cuddle your soft toys and watching her favourite films with her.

When Steve would help clean her wounds you were always there to hold and cuddle her “it’s what mama does for me so I’m doing it for mama” you would tell her when she told you she was okay.

“Thank you very much doctor angel” she chuckled placing a kiss on the side of your head.

what absolutely blows me away is the complete lack of commitment Marvel has to making any of the "big" characters queer. like there are little attempts at it here and there, but all fan service is usually for the straight fandom.

i think the biggest culprit of this "phenomenon" (for lack of a better term) has got to be peggynat in What If...

In the first episode, when we see them together, they are going through the exact same mission/situation that we saw Steve and Natasha go through in Captain America and the Winter Solider. Now, I'll give Marvel credit here: Peggy and Natasha's banter is very similar to Steve and Natasha's. It's leaning to the flirtatious side, allowing fans to add their little spins on it. However, the difference in the two scenes is that one leads to a dramatic kiss ("You still uncomfortable?" "That's not exactly the word I would use.") and the other leads to a wink that only got us peggynat fans hoping.

However, when the second season of What If... aired, I was disappointed. After such great build up with Peggy Carter's story sticking closely to Steve's in the MCU, I thought it allowed opportunity for a smooth transition for Peggy to be Marvel's first bisexual character seen on the screen. But the show took a sharp turn into the Steve x Peggy route, something that Marvel continues to push despite a large amount of Queer fans resonating with Steve's story and pushing for him to be queer.

And this isn't the only time Marvel has done this. Marvel has made several lazy attempts at making characters queer, such as Star Lord being bisexual, and yet he never talks about or shows remote interest in anyone except the opposite sex. Valkyrie in Thor was celebrated when Tessa Thompson declared that there can't be a king without a queen, hinting that Valkyrie would get a girlfriend only for Marvel to through to story line away and sub in a rushed and forgotten about relationship between Valkyrie and some random girl (their only screen time together being Valkyrie kissing the nameless girl's hand).

So, in conclusion: I'm tired of it. Marvel needs to work on getting some real representation.

I like to think that Steve loves to paint and draw pictures of his favorite subject, which is obviously his wife Natasha. Natasha obviously notices it and looks at what he does and just loves them. She tells him that he needs to continue painting and drawing pictures of her for the rest of his life and that’s an order and Steve says “yes my love.” So, Steve just continues to paint and draw pictures of Natasha no matter what happens in their life together going forward. He can paint and draw other pictures as much as he wants, but he has to continue to paint and draw pictures of his wife and that’s non-negotiable!!!
