Hello and welcome to this new post! Because many people thought it would be a nice idea to have an affirmation series on my page I thought it would be a good thing to try out. In this post I'll give a few creativity affirmations, I hope you guys like them and find them useful!

You know what makes me the most upset about the use of AI in our culture? It's not just removing artists from art or devaluing human creativity -- it's treating people like they're disposable.

Oh, you're not that special. We have computers to do that now. If you died tomorrow, we have your image. We have your voice. We have your biometric data. We can just duplicate you, it's no problem. Who needs flesh and blood? Who needs agency and free thought? Who needs the human soul? You're just a tool. And when we're done with you, we'll just toss you aside and find someone else.

Creatives, listen to me, and listen to me good: you have a voice and it matters. There is no one in the history of the world who is exactly like you, in this time or this place. There is no one who thinks like you, acts like you, speaks like you, moves like you. There is nobody else built like you. Nobody else with your unique experiences and outlook of the world. You are a product of history, of culture, of art, of love, of pain, of possibility. Don't let them take that from you.

Advice I'd Give to My Younger Self.

Be unapologetic about your presence. Never enter a room with your head lowered. Hold your head up like you are proud to be who you are. Take up space. Be bold in your actions. Let your voice be heard.

You don't have to be perfect. Get over perfectionism and the fear of being embarrassed. Learn to own all your flaws and insecurities and continue to do what you love.

What other people say mean nothing. Never loose sleep over anyone’s opinion of you. They are not God and they don't define you.

Believe in yourself. You can be successful just like those people you look up to. You have what it takes. Hone your skills and be great too.

Appreciate your unique gifts and qualities. Stop comparing yourself to others and changing yourself to fit in. Always stay true to yourself.

so often when people talk about the law/manifestation the go-to phrase (second only to “affirm and persist until it shows up❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️ or until you die❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️” lmao) is “be the person who has it!”

aka how would you think how would you feel how would you talk how would you carry yourself what would you do what would your energy be like—who are you?

the “you” who isn’t desiring.

the you who already has.

the you who already is.

which, yeah. that’s key. absolutely.

but i want to flip that statement on its head for a hot second and make you think, so humor me.

you want something, yeah?

been affirming for your specific desire and for self-concept ceaselessly for months but “nothing is happening,” you “haven’t had any movement,” you “feel like giving up”…well clearly you’re still in the state of trying, which is an easy problem to solve, but instead of me writing yet another post telling you how to solve it (fulfill yourself within, stop desiring), i want to ask you, and i want you to answer honestly—and this may require some meditation on your part, or what one of my homies and me call a “self-talk walk”—why, on a deep, maybe subconscious level, ARE you still in the state of trying?

meaning, what are you avoiding by not having?

who are you not being?

put differently, if you were forced to take every got damn ounce of the energy you’ve been putting into trying to get your desire in the physical world into something else, what would that something be?

do you know?

does it exist?

does it scare you that you don’t know, or that it maybe doesn’t yet exist?

fight me on this if you want to, but the way i see it, the point of the law is not to get.

it’s to stop desiring.

it’s a return to the true self, to the god-self.

it’s inner fulfillment, which is the state in which we are most present, most loving, most creative, most all-the-other-beautiful-things-that-make-life-worth-living, and i guess—i don’t know, man.

i’m not inside your brain-body so i cannot do this for you, but maybe, just maybe, if you sit with yourself in the quiet for a bit and ask yourself, “who am i not being? and why am i not being it?” and let the answer arise without judging or suppressing or fighting it, you will finally be able to shift out of your perpetual trying state and make space to let the magic in.
