YANDERE BUCKY BARNES HEADCANONS

You literally could be sitting at a library or outside a coffee shop and man here would fall head over heels in love with you. Faster than you can say 'Avengers Assemble'. He'd think you're some kind of god or goddess and he needs to know MORE about you, but he's kinda shy to strike up a conversation with you and he's afraid he'll mess up the first impression

Would most probably stalk you for like 3-4 months to get to know your schedule more and find out more about you or as he prefers to call it 'Learning more about you'. He'll find out everything about you from your favorite food to your favorite movie and book series. It might take him a while to approach you and start a conversation with you since he wants to get everything right and doesn't want to mess up

He'd actually be open to sharing you with Steve since you know... both of them are best pals

As a yandere he is VERY protective and obsessive of you, especially concerned about his darling's safety. He tosses and loses sleep at the thought of someone harming you. Are you all right? You're not hurt right? Man here will literally FLIP if something happens to you

He hopes against hope that you haven't found out about his past but if you did, he'll take his time to convince you he won't hurt you or do anything to you. And besides, you won't be able to find out much about his past anyways since he must have erased most of it from things like papers and stuff like that. Bucky really loves you for treating him like everyone else and not some dangerous monster and he admires you for it too

He will stop at NOTHING to win you over. Even if it means getting rid of rivals and enemies. Well, he won't directly resolve to violence at first when it comes to rivals, he'll warn them 3 times or something like that. And if they still don't listen... well... oh look, there's a dead body found! And he'll destroy any evidence that leads to him killing that person since he does have the required skills after all. They don't deserve to even BREATHE the same air as you according to him and YES, even if he has to get the Avengers to help him he most certainly will

He's kinda like a lost puppy always wanting to be around you

He won't kidnap you off the bat just yet but if he thinks you're in danger kiss your freedom goodbye. But don't worry, he'll treat you well and have all your favorite things read y for you in some secret underground bunker or a cabin in the woods or something like that. he understands you'll be scared, confused and angry at him and he'll treat you like royalty, never making you do things you don't like doing and never yelling at you or even raising his hands at you. You'll most probably fall into Stockholm Syndrome within 2 months or so since he's SUCH a gentleman with you

He just CAN'T afford to get angry at you and so, if you try acting up or trying to escape, he'll just sigh, pull you onto his lap and have a nice long talk with you while cuddling you asking why you'd do something like that. He'd love to have a family with you and he'll never let you go. After all, all you need is HIM

That's his favorite game because he always wins and his prize is getting to fuck you in the middle of the woods

H stands for HELL: what would be their object of obsession's worst experience with them?

•Your worst experience was probably your third night with him when you tried to get away the first time. It was pouring rain and you didn't yet know how far you were from civilization

•Bucky caught you trying to open the locks on the door and decided if you want to be outside then you will. He tightened and locked a collar around your neck with a magnetic strip that you could never remove without him and chained you to a tree outside

•You we're out there for what felt like hours to you in the freezing cold rain but what was probably only an hour all together. Your screaming for him died down as you began to lose your strength and he came to get you a few moments later, frozen to the bone and unable to talk. He changed you after getting you warmed up in a shower so you didn't get hypothermia and he held you for the rest of the night, his ungodly hot body thanks to the serum being a blessing for the both of you as he warmed you up so well and he finally got you to snuggle into him all night long

I stands for IDEAL: what are their plans for their object of obsession?

•He plans to make you his housewife

•James Barnes had wanted a normal life before being drafted, he was a ladies man but he wanted to find a cute dame and settle down, give her a good life and provide for his family while his women kept the house clean, made dinner and took care of him and the children they were going to have

•He never got that and he's determined to have it now with you, you'll eventually settle into your roll and be his sweet little wife and bear him children

J stands for JEALOUSY: how they react when jealous? Do they get jealous?

•He often got jealous when he asked you about your life before and you told him about past relationships but other than that he has no reason to be jealous, there's no one else around

K stands for KINDNESS: how they act around their object of obsession?

•Bucky loves and worships you, when he's in a good mood and you haven't upset him he dotes on you and it would be something you loved very much in other circumstances, and you will grow to love it as you grow to love him...or at least as you develop Stockholm Syndrome which you can practically feel your brain giving into in those sweet moments

•You learn after the first 2 weeks of fighting that it's not worth it, he's a super soldier and you are never getting away. You may as well just do what he wants and bask in the sweet worship of the man who loves you

L stands for LOVE LETTER: how would they approach their object of obsession?

•He took you the moment he met you

•And he didn't so much 'take you' as kept you since you walked up to his cabin in the woods when you got lost

M stands for MASK: how different are their public persona from their true selves?

•Bucky is a hero now that he works with The Avengers and people know him as the sweet, sort of quiet gentleman who's best friends with Captain America

•Only you seem to know how terrifying he can really be or how romantic and dramatic he can be

N stands for NAUGHTY: how would they punish their object of obsession?

•Spanking mostly, he's only locked you outside twice and you never tried to get away again since the first time, especially since it’s winter and you don’t want to risk losing toes

•Other than that if you fight he will happily keep you medicated if that's what you need to learn your lesson, it’s only more fun for him to take care of you when your stoned and snuggly

O stands for OPPRESSION: how many rights would they take from their object of obsession?

•Basically everything

•All you know in the world anymore is him and that's how he wanted it

P stands for PATIENCE: how patient are they with their object of obsession?

•Not very patient at all

•Bucky wants you to learn fast and be the house wife he wants

•He shouldn't have to say things more than once

Q stands for QUIT: if their object of obsession died or escaped, would they ever be able to move on?

•Died- He would be a recluse. He would remain in the cabin and bring flowers to your grave everyday

•Escaped- He would catch you. You're in a remote cabin in the middle of nowhere and Bucky knows these woods better than anyone but the animals, you are never going to get away

R stands for REGRET: would they ever regret harming their object of obsession? Would they ever let them go?

•Bucky doesn't want to hurt you, hurting you is just a means to an end

•Once you are trained and obedient, Bucky will be happy never having to hurt you again

S stands for STIGMA: what made their yandere tendencies bloom?

•Bucky had been hoping for a good little wife for a long time and when you showed up, hurt and admitting no one knew where you were, it was too perfect for him not to jump on the opportunity

T stands for TEARS: how would they react to their object of obsession crying/breaking?

•Bucky has no desire to see you cry

•If you're crying after a punishment then he will let you cry it out but if you're crying for another reason, missing your family or something like that he will absolutely hold and comfort you

•Even though you've been trying to get away from him he was very comfortable and warm, he comforted you in a way you never had been in your regular day to day life and he could tell how much you liked it when he was soft with you, Bucky knows that's how he's going to win you over

U stands for UNIQUE: something different they would do compared to others yanderes.

•Bucky keeps you with him isolated in a cabin in the woods where you have no chance of seeing anyone again

•The one Ranger that happened upon you he made sure would never see the light of day again and no one has come since, you will never be found even if someone was looking

V stands for VICE: what weakness their object of obsession could use against them?

•One thing Bucky wants more than anything is to get you pregnant

•He wants you barefoot and pregnant in his cabin and once you catch onto that you try and use it to your advantage, teasing him and wearing as few clothes as possible knowing seeing you like this makes him happy and he's less likely to punish you for whatever it is you do wrong that day

W stands for WIT'S END: would they hurt their object of obsession?

•If he has to hurt you to keep you in line then he will

•Whether that's locking you outside in the rain or snow, or letting you hurt yourself when you try and run from him, or drugging you up, either way he'll take care of you after but you're going to learn

X stands for XOANON: would they worship their object of obsession?

•Bucky loves you with everything he has and he will never let you go

•Once you’re pregnant Bucky will worship the ground you walk on, you will be the most cherished and protected person on the face of the Earth

Y stands for YEARN: how long would they pine after their object of obsession before they snap?

•Bucky takes you immediately the moment he meets you

•From the second you show up in his cabin he will never let you leave him

Z stands for ZENITH: would they ever break their object of obsession?

•He wouldn't let up until you give in and give him what he wants

•After a few months you realize you’re never getting away and you begin to give in quickly, finding out that if you do what he wants and tempt and flirt with him he will go much easier on you and begin breaking you down as you start to enjoy his loving, gentle moments

Yandere Bucky Barnes Headcanons

Warnings: Present bucky (2023), talks about his background/hydra, killing/hurting mention/actions, mentions about steve/sam/thanos (aka dried grape).

Author Note: Sorry if this is shorter than others, this was rushed and a midnight thought writing. Stay well!!

Bucky has been through a lot: lost himself off the train, his arm, and was brainwashed to be a killer. He lost his memories, his best friend, and his self-observantness. After he got saved from Steve, he dreamed of staying home with someone; away from the chaos, and with a partner who would love to have a peaceful morning with him.

Because of how harsh his background was, he'd fall for someone who’s very kind, patient, and never judgemental. Most likely, you'd meet him after he breaks free from Hydra; either helping him as a nurse when Steve brought him to the compound or someone he met in the city when he was bleeding badly. You’d help him keep hidden and get back on his feet while he chose to stay with you and maybe, get some help with Steve and the Avengers.

At first, he’s very distinct with you, leaving everytime you come in, and is very quiet with rare answers other than a shake of a head for a ‘no’ and a small mumble for a ‘yes’. But, once he gets closer to you, realizing you’re not gonna hurt him but rather the other way around; you both would quickly become close friends. He’d become a huge support to you, mentally and physically that is. He’ll offer to pay for the groceries every other week, clean the apartment when you're not in the mood, and remind you of important things in case you forgot. He even offers to cook dinner if you’ve had an exhausting day, including starting a shower for you.

He always mentions that he loves helping you in any way possible, just like you helped him when he was out of line and a total stranger to himself and the new society. He always promises to ‘pay you back’ no matter how much you decline that he ‘needs’ too.

After what happens with the snap and Steve; he’ll slowly become more closer with you, as he starts to learn more about him and the technology. This would also come with how he realizes he’s in love with you.

Bucky would start to know he’s in love with you by how you make him feel and how he likes to flirt with you. Sure, Barnes was a lady’s man when he was younger, but now he’s quite a coward; unsure what to do. He’ll ask Sam, but mostly leave it up to himself, not wanting to get teased or made fun of because he doesn’t know what to do. When he notices how you make him feel (aka: when he’s head over heels for you), Bucky would start to ‘court’ you: buying you flowers every time he sees you, maybe bringing your favorite meal alongside and trying to give you his jacket whenever you're cold. He gets really happy when you ask him for help, it helps boost his pride up. Slowly he would start to see, or hopefully, start to see that you would want something more than a friendship with him.

He would never kidnap you. He knows what it's like to be kept under your will so he would never drug you, take you away where you’re stuck in a house forever, feel unsafe/or scared. However, in a rare moment, if something chaotic happened (ex. such as the purge, an invasion of aliens/monsters, or people who are after you) then he would take you, but he would never put you in chains or force you to do things, he’d still allow you to go outside but. As said again, this is a very rare and unlikely situation to happen.

Though, if he does kidnap you, he’d try to reassure you into believing that he’s not what he is, and never would be. Most likely, you would be drugged in some way; only enough to make you drowsy and accidentally fall asleep on his bed/or couch.

Outside of the headcanon above: bucky guilt-trips you sometimes. He knows what he’s doing is wrong, but he can't feel at ease when you're not around/or in his sight. He would consistently bring his past into the conversations you two would have. He would only use his guilt-trip tactic if you're going somewhere ‘dangerous’, on a mission or spending too much time with somebody. At first, he’d try to talk to you without going, staying at your work to fill out paperwork or train, but the more you persist on going; he finally gives in to explaining he has to go with you. Reasoning that he’s beyond terrified of you getting hurt, he just wants to make sure you're protected at all times and that nothing bad happens to you; not that it’s wrong or anything.

As a way to get closer to you, he would use his assassin ways to stalk you, making sure you get to places safe; also using this as a way to understand what you like, dislike/or pet peeves you have of things. He would try to understand and find ways to make you like him better: cooking your favorite meals, buying you items for your hobbies, and trying to surprise you with extreme gifts.

His yandere behavior is overprotective, guilt-tripping, possessive, and (semi)worshiping. As stated above, he wants to repay you for helping him; meaning he wants to spoil you. He would buy you small meaningful gifts. If you're into art, he’d come over to give you a few canvases, paint, and some brushes that could replace your old ones. If you're into gaming, he’d slide some games he saw you took interest in, sometimes buying you hand-books that explain the game better. Hell, he’d even ask to try to play games with you.

He’s the definition of a gentleman. He always opens the doors for you, including the car doors and never lets you lift heavy things, insists on paying for everything, and always asks for permission to do things: touching you, using your bathroom, or even coming over to your house so he could, atleast, have a moment of peace.

Once he gets over his fear of rejection, he will confess to you: over a romantic dinner, and something cute but not too extreme. When you two are into a relationship, the affection you'll receive is very touch-starved. Because of the years of abuse, he's clinging onto you like a sloth and never letting go. But, that doesn’t mean he's touching you all the time; he always asks for permission first: tapping in a certain way or asking. He loves touchibg you, something he craves 24/7: holding hands, having his arm around your waist, or putting his face into your neck after an exhausting day; it’s something he loves forward too.

He spoils you like no tomorrow; buying you anything he sees that reminds him of you or something he feels like you’ll enjoy.

Most days, he’d tag along with whatever you're doing; following you around like a guard dog. If you're going to the store? He’d love to tag along, plus you get the extra help carrying the heavy things. Meeting a friend? He's right beside you, but beforehand; he's looking through their background to see if they're a threat for you or not. Going for a walk? He’d love to come with you. Having some extra protection is better.

Bucky hates conflict. He will try his best to never fight with you, trying his best to be calm in the situation if you're mad or yelling at him. Though, if it continues, he will leave the room to make sure you calm down. Though, if you do something that endangers your life, he will get irritated, slightly raising his voice until he removes himself, then come back in and apologize; possibly taking it out in a more-so-calming tone.

He would never, ever hurt your family or friends. He wouldn't want you to be upset, more or less be afraid of him. But, he will hurt/or kill someone if they get on your bad side. Whether it’s hurting, scaring, or making you uncomfortable; he would brutally kill them and cover it up. This also goes along the line of if you have horrible friends, he will tell you the red flags and tell you confidently that you need to remove yourself from them. If you don't listen, he won't force you to do anything, but he will make sure to be there for you when they do something.

This is a man who towers over you carrying the atmosphere of a beast, surely you'll have no worries when it comes to scaring off threats yet Bucky will become paranoid. It doesn't matter if it started off as some fuck boy cat calling and harassing his baby or some filth disturbing your peace, you'll watch as Bucky becomes more and more suffocating after solving the 'issue'

He's willing to be viscously violent, growl and chase away whoever bothered the two of you, this all signals the beginning of his paranoid induced possession. Bucky likes to say he's doing much better after all these years, and he is, it doesn't keep him from feeling the same adrenaline from all the past intense situations run through his veins due to feeling the person who is arguably the most important part of his life is being threatened. The vague feeling that his love is going to be taken from him is enough to restart the intensity in Bucky's bones

Guiding him back into calm is quite simple if you get to him quickly enough, taking you two back to your home hand in hand to spend the rest of the hours keeping him in surroundings that show nothing but safety for him and his baby. Otherwise Bucky will be attached to you everywhere you might have to go, sometimes trying to persuade the idea that you can just stay inside with him, staring down others he deems suspicious and texting you constantly when separated from you. It lasts around three days before you finally get it through his head neither of you are in any immediate danger, and he'll apologize for being so much to handle, please do spare Bucky a sweet kiss cause all of this was truly out of love for you.

also he is very insecure so you have to always tell him that you love him and only him.

he does trust you but don't ever break that trust. Things might get worse for you.

he will not kidnap he wants you to love him truly rather than forcing himself upon you.

if somehow by some miracle some chaos breaks out then he will kidnap you. He would try to reassure you that this is for your own good.

he will sometimes guilt trip you by talking about his past. To make sure you stay with him.

Oh he does stalk you, he needs to make sure that you are ok.

He is very over protective. He thinks that you might get hurt also he treats you like a child. He thinks you cannot defend yourself.

he would love to repay you for your kindness which you have showed him so expect a lot of gifts from him.

he knows and observes what you like and what you don't so he won't have a hard time picking up on what you would like.

he will try his best to not have any fights with you. he does not want to fight with his loved one.

@after-witch I love Theo - I've been following her for three years now and her writing is divine. She writes very delicately - if you like psychological horror/dark fic, bleak fates and that sinking feeling in your stomach, her blog is just the place! Theo has written and writes for a lot of fandoms (from JJK, HxH, BNHA etc to original content), I'm sure you'll find something you'll like. @391780 You HAVE to check out Early's stuff. Fat reader fics galore. They write everything from romance to soft dark to dark fic, all CoD. I know nothing about CoD but by some strike of fate her fics landed on my dash and I've been in love ever since. You don't need to know anything about that fandom, trust me, you can go in blind and you'll fall in love just as much. If you like dark dark stuff, her Nikto masterlist is perfect - and the Nobody series is my ultimate fave of theirs. So delicious, you'll want to curl up and cry afterwards (out of joy).

@darkficsyouneveraskedfor Roo is THE darkfic writer to me. She writes MCU/DC and again, I haven't watched a Marvel movie since 2015 - but you don't need those to read her fics. She crafts AUs you've never even thought about - and masterfully so. Seriously, I especially love her historical stuff and the way she puts you into these worlds is something else. Roo's writing is very direct and raw and hopeless. She doesn't write happy ends and it's amazing. One of my favorite series of hers is Tapestry , a medieval AU featuring Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes. If you want something even darker, Splintered is another masterpiece of hers that I've been screaming about on here for literal years 😭💕

@stupid-sloot-headcanons is another fixture on the 'dark fic side' of tumblr to me. Sloot has ... everything. Seriously. Pluck in a random fandom of yours and 9/10 times, she's written about it. Her thought/characterization posts never miss, she just gets characters through some form of magical mental connection, I swear.

@thus-spoke-lo Pain Management. You will read this. Now. No discussions. Adshjshfj but seriously, Lo has written SO much. So many different tropes, so many different levels of romance. I'm on a One Piece kick right now and her whole OP masterlist got me through the first 300 chapters of my re-read... The twists, the turns, the love (or not) - experience it for yourself (╹ڡ╹ ) And of course, I have to mention @girlwithsharpt33th and @tang3r1n - they're both still 'fresh' but give them a scroll... Things are brewing and they're perfect and disgusting and abhorrent 💕

First off, our baby boy here definitely stalks you, and has probably seen your scars when he'd watches you get changed (little pervert). So when he sees you wearing something that shows them, he won't be very surprised. Chances are he'll just gloss over them and not mention them to hopefully make you more comfortable. But let's talk about how he first felt when he saw them.

Bucky was absolutely heartbroken when he saw them. You hurt yourself? Why? He thinks you're the best person in the world, he would move Heaven and Earth for you, what made you do that? He's not judging you, no he would never. He's just worried.

He probably stays awake at night for the first few days when he finds out. Worrying if he's gonna lose you, or if he's done something wrong. His stalking gets more intense, wanting to make sure you don't do it again, or hurt yourself worse.

If they're fresh ones he thinks about confronting you. About giving you a long speech about how he loves you, trying to intervene and help. But then he remembers that you don't know he knows. He shouldn't know. So that idea gets scrapped. So now he has two options.

1. Take you home with him (he doesn't like the word ''kidnap'') so he can physically stop you, even if he has to tie you up or lock you somewhere.

Or 2. Physically stop you by just taking away whatever you're using to hurt yourself. Knives would be the easiest, he'd just take them when you weren't looking, and if you bought more he'd take them, too. But if it's something else (your own nails, burning yourself, hitting yourself) he'd have to do something else. In that case, he'd be forced to take you, to keep you by his side and under his watch so you didn't hurt the person he loves any more.

Either way he is incredibly worried, and would act as soon as possible to try and help you from the shadows. He'd also insist that he's here for you, that you can call him whenever you want, even if it's the middle of the night, your safety comes above anything of his. He just wants to make sure you stay by his side, and happy. Is that so bad?

If they were old ones and healed up he wouldn't be as worried but still heartbroken.

Even the thought you did something like that just makes him want to cradle you and kiss your cute face all over, reassure you for hours on end. But he can't, because you don't know that he knows.

Either way, he becomes a lot more clingy and reassuring, telling you he's here for you if you should ever need him and showering you with even more love. Again, once you actually showed him, he wouldn't mention it or make a big deal out of it, not wanting to make you uncomfortable or pressure you into talking. But if you do want to talk, he's all ears. And has snacks and cuddles at the ready to comfort you.
