Note
theres many questions in this because I don't want to spam you with a lot of asks, and you do not have to draw the answers.
all of them are about your slmau
1.I don't know whether this has been covered or not but was tiny little small child phoenix a werewolf phoenix too?
2.Does the waa go on flying trips for fun sometimes?
3.Were there other monsters who just had their name be their monsters? (phoenix is a phoenix, some poor kid could be name fungus right??? is Angel Starr an angel? Is Damon Dant a demon?)
4.Do vampires still have to drink blood in your au or can they eat other things?
5.Can I make mediocre fan art of your au?
1.
Tumblr media
When Phoenix was a kid, he was essentially human. His dormant supernatural genes (werewolf from one side, phoenix from the other) were activated when he swallowed the poison bottle necklace (the little bit of poison/potion left in the bottle reacted with his body and woke up those parts of him).
With Miles, he was human until he was 13, which is when Von Karma turned him into a vampire (in the anime, 13 is the age where he is given the cravat/jabot, and so I have those things happen at the same time)
2.
Tumblr media
Trucy, Athena, and Apollo will go flying, but Phoenix is still very much afraid of heights
3.
The Feys are faes/fairies/however you choose to spell it. I think Angel Starr would be a good match for an angel, but Damon Gant is a storm elemental ^^ I’m trying to think of if there’s other characters whose names are related to what monster they are, but I can’t think of any others off the top of my head. For Phoenix, It wasn’t because his name was Phoenix that he became a phoenix. He was probably named after his heritage, much like how people will name their kids after relatives or ancestors. If there was a kid named Fungus, that just means that kid has some terrible parents.
4.
Tumblr media
Vampires like Miles (turned vamps) can eat other foods, but the colour red provides more energy and blood is the highest source of energy and nutrition. Natural vampires can’t really process other food that well if it’s not majorly red or doesn’t have blood in it because their bodies weren’t made for that. It won’t kill them, but it’s like a lactose intolerant person eating dairy.
5.
Definitely! I always love to see it!

Hehe Vil and Neige for character bingo!
Tumblr media
I adore Vil!!!! He has such a sharp, pretty gaze. I’d be intimidated even if it wasn’t his intention to intimidate. ;;;; but omg he’s such a lovely character!!! Seeing his growth from book 5 to book 6 makes me so soft aaaaa!!! He’s genuinely so sweet and caring and only wants to bring out the best in people, which is why he can seem very critical and harsh and strict. It’s all done in good nature. But in that same light, he’s also incredibly critical with himself, which was seen in how he was comparing himself to Neige and always striving to be the most beautiful. It’s also just nice to see him realize at the end of his book that he doesn’t have to be fairest of all; he can be unique in his own way and there’s just as much beauty in that as there is in being known as the fairest. Also the fact that he sincerely apologizes to us and admits that he was in the wrong at the end… I might be remembering this wrong, but I feel like he’s the only character out of the Overblots who apologized so genuinely to us.
Also his UM???? IT’S SO COOL?????? There are so many possibilities with that. Somehow I always overlook it when I’m thinking about Vil, but it’s really so interesting and has many uses. Even the fact that Vil’s skilled in making potions is already giving me thoughts… so much potential with this. And his role in book 6!!!! Omg it’s made me appreciate the Pomefiore trio even more. I also love the method Vil used to escape his cell during the power outage in book 6. That felt so super spy omg!! <3 (super spy Vil au……. thinking thoughts.)
And because I’ve yet to say it: fashion inspiration!!!! Aaaaaa Vil is such an inspiration. Whenever I’m doing my makeup or putting together an outfit, I always think, What would Vil think of this look? He’s just so,,,, inspiring. And he always slays in every outfit he wears, as expected of Mr. Vil. Sometimes I think how fun it would be if Vil was real because I’d love to have a conversation with him about fashion. My friend called my wardrobe the “playable character closet” because all of my outfits feel like main characters you’ve unlocked in a storyline. Naturally. <3 you should feel like a main character in your life because you’re the star of it, after all hehe!! :D
Vil is just so wonderful to me. I love him dearly and I really should dust off all of the Vil concepts rotting in my drafts and share them. orz he’s so perfect. He could do no wrong (except for that time he almost poisoned Neige), but he was still so babygirl!!!!!
Speaking of Neige!!!!
Tumblr media
I have this certain Vision in my mind when I’m thinking of Neige and it is not at all canon, but I still love his canon self a lot. I think Neige deserves to be talked about more (as does Che’nya, Rollo, and the staff). The lack of love for Neige is doing him so dirty! D: he deserves lots of love because he’s just so cute and sweet. And very hardworking!!! When Vil gives us more insight into Neige’s past, it really shows a deeper side to the normally always cheerful idol that everyone adores. His screen time is so minimal, and it doesn’t help that twst English had to cut the Minna de Yahoo rhythmic. :( I wanted to see it so badly in twst English, so it was sad to not see it. </3
Part of me was hoping to see a darker side of Neige in twst. But then he is based on a hero and he goes to Royal Sword Academy, which is essentially the school of heroes compared to NRC (the school of villains). Still… T-T I would like to see a cunning side of Neige, or Neige who may have known Vil held a grudge against him and had a feeling he might try something. Thinking about Neige putting on the oblivious, happy act to mask someone who is very observant and intelligent beneath… AAAAAAAA it would have been so interesting if he attempted to drink the apple juice while fully knowing it was poisoned just to see if anyone (i.e. Rook) would jump in and save him—perhaps to test just where Rook’s loyalty and heart lies? The idea of Neige intentionally putting himself in compromising or even dangerous situations just to test his own theories is so fun to consider. After all, he’s been working in the entertainment industry for so long now. It’s hard to think he wouldn’t be at least a little deceptive or cunning because I’m sure he’s picked up some tricks from so much time spent in the business.
All in all, Neige is very beloved and I’d like to discuss him more. orz

Jewelry-Tober Day #8 Potion Themed
🧪Did you know that until the 1850's there was no regulation of poisonous substances? 🦠You could essentially go to the grocery store, fill up your own glass bottle of rat poison or what have you, and be merrily on your way (Citation below lol). This necklace is inspired by Victorian glass bottles simply through this beautiful little heart charm. 🩶
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also focused on making this necklace simple enough to wear with a T-shirt and jeans and to keep the item affordable. Poisoned with Heartbreak
Now we’re both poisoned with heartbreak. Two heroes in a tragedy of our own making. Anyone we touch, we are their curse. A stroke to their cheek would kill them instantly.
- Lyutsifer Safin in “No Time to Die”
Tumblr media
Humanity had a “fall” out of Eden. When someone breaks away from a group, we say they “had a “fall” out of favor. Fall off the wagon, fall into darkness. Fall into chaos or despair. Even the name of the season — the leaves fall because they die. In all of these contexts and connotations, the word fall refers to something negative. Things were one way before but now they have fallen into another way that is bad.
Except one fall.
Tumblr media
Was I stupid to love you? Was I reckless to help? Was it obvious to everybody else That I’d fallen for a lie?
- Billie Eilish, “No Time to Die”
Tumblr media
I'm scared I've never fallen from quite this high Falling into your ocean eyes Those ocean eyes
- Billie Eilish, "Ocean Eyes”
This little word trickery reveals a powerful contradiction — to love is to die. Whatever you were before, you are no longer. You die into the relationship. You fall. The moment you see the eyes across the room, or you see the eyes of the child in your arm — you are gone. Things were one way before but now they have fallen into another way that is good.  Only this goodness comes at the cost — yourself. What are you willing to give for it? Your concern shifts from “you” to the other.
Tumblr media
There’s a secret here: the poison and the love potion are essentially the same. The pain of love is the sickness unto death that no doctors can cure. So the same woman who brought Tristan to Ireland by poisoning him is now preparing the love potion.
- Joseph Campbell, “Romance of the Grail” (p. 101) In “No Time to Die”, Madeleine Swann brings James Bond to the grave of Vesper. Love and death intersecting. The romantic sunsets and backdrop of Matera shot by Linus Sandgren surround a cemetery and tombs. This excursion leads to them splitting up.
Years later, it is the pursuit of Madeleine Swann that brings James Bond to the “poison garden” of Lyutsifer Safin which will ultimately kill him. He’s given a choice — cosmic checkmate — where either he will live, or Madeleine will live. If Bond leaves the island, the poison that is in his blood (synthesized from her DNA which is the chemical marker of the self) will eventually kill her. Or, Bond can stay on the poison garden and die to keep her alive.
Of course, there is only one choice to make. Because he already made that choice a long time ago when he fell.
Potion and poison, boon and toxin. Love and death. Linked at both ends. Open your heart out, bleed and die for the other. Falling from the old and into something else. Something unknown. Something frightening. Something deadly. Something you must fall into.

Alaris Lavellan, 5, 17, 22, 23, 33, 42, 44?
Ooh, excellent, more! Questions from this ask game, feel free to send more.
5. On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets? Notebook and pencil for notes on Interesting Things, money, a couple knives, a small vial of poison (hey, you never know), an antidote to said vial of poison (you never know), lyrium potions, health potions, some elfroot, a map of the area when possible... Are Alaris's pockets secretly Fade pockets so he can fit all this stuff? He'll never tell.
17. What was your character’s favorite toy as a child? A little wooden halla his mother carved for him when he was a baby. He brought the thing with him everywhere, it's honestly a miracle he didn't lose it earlier than he did.
22. What does your character like in other people? Confidence, intelligence, strength, and a somewhat sarcastic sense of humour. Also he does like a sense of authority, provided it's not being misused. He's also a big fan of people with a firm belief in mage and elf rights and religious freedom, which... did cause some issues with the companions.
23. What does your character dislike in other people? Chantry leanings. Note that that's not necessarily the same as Andrastian leanings; Alaris still doesn't like Andrastians much, but he tolerates ones like Varric who don't go all in on the "mages are evil, elves are further from the Maker, the Dalish are savages" shit a lot better than the real Chantry faithful like Cassandra and Cullen. He also has a strong hatred of people who abuse their authority and especially Templars. Also if you so much as suggest that mages deserve to be locked up or elves should be in alienages... well, you're going to have to do a lot of work to make him so much as not hate you after that!
33. In the face of criticism, is your character defensive, self-deprecating, or willing to improve? It depends on the type of criticism to some extent; any criticism that suggests he should be more Andrastian or less Dalish or less of a mage or more obedient to the Chantry is going to get fury. But in terms of fair criticism he tends towards self-deprecation, especially if it's a criticism he already agrees with. He's fully prepared to improve, but especially as his time with the Inquisition drags on he becomes more and more likely to respond with "Yeah, I really suck, huh", even if only in a "joking" way.
42. Has your character ever had a parental figure who was not related to them? I mean there's Anders, but he's not quite old enough to really be a proper parental figure. Sort of a weird hybrid father/older brother figure. But there's also Keeper Deshanna; Alaris wasn't actually born into Clan Lavellan (he took the name just in case anyone recognized the name of his birth clan from. certain incidents), but Keeper Deshanna took him in as her First without hesitation—even if that was largely because Clan Lavellan was in desperate need of more mages—and treated him like her own son from day one. He doesn't think he'll ever be able to repay her for that, but it's okay because she insists he doesn't owe her anything. Essentially he was not surprised to learn she'd sent word to the Inquisition requesting his return, even if he was worried about the consequences drawing the Chantry's attention like that would be. Also, fun fact: Alaris didn't give anyone his full name until Keeper Deshanna sent word and revealed his connection to her clan. He would've refused point-blank to give a clan name the entire time he was with the Inquisition if she hadn't claimed him.
44. How easy or difficult is it for your character to say “I love you?” Can they say it without meaning it? He can say it very easily without meaning it. He's an excellent liar. It's... a lot harder for him to say it and mean it. Fake emotions are a lot easier to work with than real emotions, after all! Although it's very difficult for him to say "I love you" without meaning it if he does have real feelings for the person in question. For example he doesn't love Dorian and Bull at first, but he respects and likes them far too much to lie about it. He could very easily have looked... say, Cassandra or Cullen in the eye and claimed to love them (it would've disgusted him, but he could have done it without any real difficulty), but Dorian and Bull? No, he couldn't do that to them. The feelings came pretty quickly, but he couldn't bring himself to actually say the words until just before the final battle against Corypheus, and that was half because he was a little worried that if he didn't say it then he'd never get the chance, as well as him just wanting to say it.

The Red Light (Episode 6)
Floyd and Nolan's days pass quickly, with Dante embracing a new healing gun. They meet Typhon, who reveals Aquamarine, a potent substance. Dante encounters unsettling visions during an Aquamarine-induced trance after wrestling with seeing Typhon in his appearance. Typhon tasks them with a bloody mission in a school library, unleashing a blood elemental. After a fierce battle, they wake up in a mysterious, improved library, each holding a symbol book.
The next few days passed fast for Floyd and Nolan, aside from Dante's many yells about Nolan's, as he put it, "whimp-ing out" back in the cell. But the same couldn't be said about Dante. He took his sweet time, Typhon's face was not one he wanted to see at the moment.
So, he took time to practice with his new gun. Dante discovered what had happened during the fight with Apollo's wounds. When a bullet fired from that gun collided with a living creature, it gave the holder the health it had taken from whatever it shot. It was essentially a deadly health potion.
Dante fell in love with the new weapon, immediately switching it for his old one. It felt like a trophy for making it through.
But when they had made it back to the Capitol Building, they passed Cadm off to Mercury and headed to talk to Typhon.
When they made it up to his office, where he sat in his chair, Typhon stood up, eyeing Floyd, but his eyes glowed blue not red.
"Who the fuck is this, Dante?" aggressively asked Typhon.
"A guy without his memories. Perfect to sculpt to be like us," replied Dante, waiting for Typhon to bring up Apollo.
Typhon thought for a few seconds with a sip of a glass that had a rim covered in blue rocks.
"What's that? And what's with your eyes?" Nolan pointed to Typhon's glass.
"Aquamarine. It makes one drink feel like ten, but it makes your eyes glow blue, the more you drink, the brighter your eyes," replied Typhon.
Typhon opened a box on his desk that had not been there before, and inside were six gems from Port Damil, the drug for the high class.
"Can we get some?" asked Dante, easing up.
"Sure," Typhon replied uncaringly as he tossed Dante a gem from the box. For such a scary man, he didn't seem to mind Dante, even though he still seemed a bit peeved. "Put it in a drink, eat flakes straight up, snort it, smoke it, anyway you want to get it in your system works all the same. And, plus, no alcohol poisoning."
"We'll do this in the barracks."
Dante shuffled back out of the door and towards the direction of the barracks but a new mirror caught Dante's eye.
He saw his reflection. He could see his father in himself now. Summoning Typhon had sprouted Dante's horns, changed his eye color, and gave him a tail. He looked like a whole new man. It's not like he didn't realize his horns were there, he had to learn how to put on a shirt without ripping it, or cut holes into pants to fit his tail, but he'd never looked at himself thoroughly. Dante swept strands of white hair out of his eyes, he had Typhon's hair line. That wasn't new, but he'd never known why it mattered, but apparently it was his father's.
Dante pulled a bottle from his satchel and broke off a few flakes of Aquamarine, tossing them in. He took sips out of it as he made his way back to the barracks. He felt himself slip away through this time, instead of a bar's countertop, he drifted away in his bed.
First came the birds, that was normal. But then came the men's voices as usual but now he recognized one of the voices: it was Typhon's. Typhon spoke about not needing a child, and yelling at the other person for disobeying him. When Dante felt the grass as usual, he heard Typhon say "If you don't kill him, the woods will." The rest remained the same but Dante seemed to startle himself awake.
Dante sat up and looked at his surroundings. Floyd and Nolan laid in their respective beds asleep, clearly hours had passed.
"That asshole," muttered Dante, laying back down, a slight headache creeping in.
Dante didn’t know what he expected to be the reason Typhon had left him, he knew it would not have been noble, yet it still stung, just a bit.
The next morning Dante, Floyd and Nolan woke up from the sound of the Hellish Raven telling them Typhon wanted them, even though he still sounded annoyed.
So they made their way through the Capital Building but as they passed the room Cadm was tortured in, they realized it had been closed.
Dante was the first to make his way in. Inside sat Cadm, ropes slung around his arms and legs with a muzzle around his snout. Dante laughed as he pulled the muzzle off, spotting a bucket full of water across the room. Noticing Floyd and Nolan hadn’t followed him in.
“It didn’t have to be like this,” said Dante over Cadm’s small gasps for air, the muzzle making it even harder to breathe. “You could have stayed out of this and you’d be free.”
Once Damte had made it up the stairs, he opened the door to Typhon’s office only to be met with Mercury dealing cards to play Blackjack with Floyd and Nolan.
“Awh, no time for a game. Whatever, Typhon didn't like that you couldn't kill Apollo on your own so he's having you guys go get some shit for him. Why am I not going, I have no clue, I'm just surprised he's even leaving the Capitol," said Mercury, collecting the cards.
“Why are you surprised?” asked Dante.
Mercury looked at Dante confused. "Typhon didn't leave the capitol for years then he did and got beheaded. Then we both died, He thought you guys were stronger but apparently you guys couldn't even deal with Apollo by yourself. But he's sending you to some library for some reason. But before you go in there, you have to talk to Typhon,” Mercury handed Dante a map. “He’s there.”
Dante scoffed at the mention of not being able to kill Apollo. He was there for Typhon to approve of him, not Mercury, even if cards did sound fun.
But as they went to leave, another Hellish Raven appeared on the desk. Immediately Mercury swatted it off before it said anything. Mercury spun back around to look at everyone while covering the bird's mouth and asked "Are you guys leaving or not? Typhon should already be at the tavern waiting for you guys.”
So, Dante, Floyd and Nolan took off on horseback, Mercury lending his horse to Floyd since he didn’t have one. But they rode off, not for too long, only a few hours, eventually making it to a town with a large school at the heart of it. Following the map, Dante made his way into a tavern.
Inside the tavern was empty aside from two men in cloaks. Dante recognized the one on the left as Typhon because of his tail, the other he couldn't recognize.
When the door swung open, Typhon gestured for the man to leave, which he did, but as he stood up, his face was shrouded in black as though a wall was under his hood. But even without being able to see his eyes, Dante felt the man's eyes. It felt like he was glaring as he walked out of the door, wordlessly.
Typhon turned around and made his way to Dante, "Because you guys nearly got wiped out by Apollo alone, I have somewhere for you to go."
*Can't he just let it go?* Dante rolled his eyes at the mention of Apollo. Typhon sounded disappointed, but he mostly sounded angry.
"Inside of that school there is a library, and behind it is a room that you need to get into. However, the school belongs to Axom, and in order to get into that back room you need to soak something in blood. He's the prophet of the God of blood, I'm not all that surprised," explained Typhon as he handed Dante a book.
Dante just stared confusedly.
"Don't do it with people in the room, you'll cause more problems, you'll need to kill it," Typhon continued.
Dante rolled his eyes and left, Nolan and Floyd in tow. First problem was the security.
Two security guards stood out in front of the gate to the school. Dante flipped up his hood and made his way toward the guards, his gun tucked safely in his pocket. Floyd inhaled and blew a ball of ice against the wall, distracting the guards enough. Immediately Dante and Nolan threw knives around the guards' necks.
Floyd iced over the bodies to mask the smell and dragged them to the side, instructed by Dante and followed him inside.
It didn't take them long to make it to the library, but three students waited inside. They all waited peacefully inside as Nolan locked the door. One sleeping bullet and two regular bullets flew through the air. All three students slumped forward as Dante placed the book Typhon had given him, draining the blood from them into a bowl one of the students had brought lunch in.
"Why not kill all three of them?" asked Nolan, watching Dante slit open the neck of one of the students.
"So they think the other one did it, if they have no reason to suspect an outside source, they won't come knocking on our door. The sleeping bullet is only a dart, it will only leave a small hole."
Now with the bowl filled, Dante poured the blood over the book.
The ground shook and rumbled as the blood piled on top of itself. Nolan and Dante knew what they were in for. Another blood elemental. Dante fired an icy bullet at the elemental and the blood around where the shot had entered crystallized briefly. Dante's shot taught Floyd what to do. A large inhale later and the creature paused in the air, encased in ice. But when it moved again, icicles shot everywhere. Dante's arm covers went over his eyes as he ducked under a table. Nolan took cover behind a bookcase and threw a dagger into where the eye of the beast should have been. The elemental screamed as it clawed into Dante's armor, but it only made small holes, no skin was broken.
Dante fired another bullet that sliced through the creature where the gem normally was. Nothing. Just an empty torso. Dante gritted his teeth as he reloaded his gun. Then there was Floyd. Floyd blew an icy breath at the claws of the creature, freezing it all the way to where its elbows would have been. Nolan went to try to pull the creature to the floor with a rope, but all he managed to do was bloody the rope.
Dante fired a new type of bullet; Acid. As soon as the bullet made contact, the creature screamed and drained back inside the book. But as it fell, so too did everyone else.
Suddenly they were in another library, a taller, cleaner, more pristine, library. Sitting on lecterns in around where they were standing were three books. One had a symbol of a person running, the next had the symbol of health, and the last was of a dumbell.
Dante grabbed the symbol of health, Nolan grabbed the swiftness one and Floyd grabbed the dumbell.
Each felt something grow inside of them, but as Floyd picked up the last book, they woke up on the floor of the original library. They were done.

Blood, Flesh, and Tears
Tumblr media
Name: Torment (He/Him)
Race: Zariel Tiefling
Class: Paladin (Oath of Vengence)
Background: Haunted One
WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!
Taking a break from Pero, let's go back to our secretly-not-a-psycho paladin, Torment. To refresh, Torment and the gang decided to go under to reach Moonrise Towers. While there, we fought a Bulette, met some fungus peeps, killed some Duergar, killed a stray Sovereign because they wanted to overthrow the current one, and agreed to find some guy named Nere who was behind the attack against the Myconids and the Deep Gnomes.
Before we took the boat to our next destination, I wanted to explore the place a bit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was able to find the missing husband to a Dwarf named Derryth who came down to the Underdark looking for a specific fungus that can only be found in the Underdark. The missing husband, Baelen, got themselves stuch amongst explosive fungi that will spread noxious fumes that can go up in flames. Because I had a scroll of Misty Step on me, Torment was able to save the guy without stepping into the danger zone. Once he was gone, I tried my hand at navigating the poisonous maze in hopes of getting any goodies...It went up in flames and Astarion nearly died lol.
When we went back to report back to Derryth, she wasn't really...Relieved that her husband was back. While she was "happy" he was back, she still acted rather rude about him. Apparently, Baelen's head isn't right and before he went a bit sick in the head, he wasn't a good person allegedly. Doesn't really help Derryth's case that she now seems to use her husband as a dimwit slave...Maybe something can be done about that when we reach Baldur's Gate.
After doing that side quest, I was able to find my way over to the stoned Drow and fought the Spector that was shown in the trailers. Homie was easy to handle when you got potion of speed on ya. Thanks to fighting the Spector, one of the Drow was released from their prison and explained that they were mercs paid to escort a wizard named Dhourn, who unfortunately perished during the fight. Dhourn carried a crystal that held a memory within. Peering inside, we saw a place that's deeper in the Underdark that also held a forge within. Perhaps a hint on where our adventure will send us next.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While exploring, we found a Arcane Tower that was protected by magical construct security drones. We were able to bypass them, but if we wanted to use the arcane elevator, we had to find a way to activate the entire tower. Torment and the gang descended by foot to the bottom of the tower and found a machine that required fuel to activate the tower. I love this area in the same way I love the Reithwin area in the Cursed Lands. If you're the type of person to read the notes and books in the game, you essentially get the answer to most of the puzzles and challenges in this section of the game. I love that this game rewards you for exploring everything there is to see.
So down in the Underdark, you can find these flowers called Sussur Blooms. If you explored all of the Blighted Village, you probably know that there's a side quest that requires Sussur Bark to make a weapon that silences your foes (I gave Astarion a silencing dagger :D). Well, while down there, you'll encounter the flowers of the Sussur tree and can collect them. If you weren't already collecting them, you might want to go flower picking when you reach this part of the game, because based on a note you can find while exploring the Arcane Tower, it explains that the flowers can not only mute magic, but also empower items with magic. When I realized this, I immediately went back to camp, picked up my collection of Sussur Blooms, and watched the entire tower come to life.
This meant that the elevator was now accessible. Going to the very top, we met a construct by the name of Bernard who speaks to us through what would seem like riddles. This is another instance where if you were thoroughly exploring the tower and reading the notes left behind, you will know that Bernard is quotes some of the notes and books left in the tower. Because of this, Torment didn't have to fight the constructs. I was also able to get a cute, but sad hug scene with Bernard that insinuates that the owner of this tower was a lonely individual; requiring the comfort of magical steel for depressing days.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After some minor exploration here and there, Torment and the gang took the ferry to find the place where Nere was positioned at. While on our boat ride, we encounter some Duergar in a separate ship that recognized the ship belong to their homies and wondered why we had possession of it. Torment was able to intimidate his way out of a fight, especially with the help of the symbol of the Absolute that was on his person. While traversing the waters, we caught a glimpse of what this new area is gonna be; and it looks like it's gonna be another Shar temple since the statues and the iconography is matching the ones back at Reithwin.
Upon entering, we learn that the True Souls are not particularly liked at the moment since they ran off with the money from the Duergar after asking for their services. They demand that we seek out the True Soul Nere and get his ass for cheating them of their services. Torment was close to breaking and simply killing the Duergar since they were holding the Deep Gnomes hostage and enslaved them to do their work. But that will have to wait, for now.

Hello, it’s me! I saw your post w/ branwyns about Arkos, and I thought I’d throw in my two cents. Personally it’s a little funny in an ironic sense to me, because I’m both a longtime Arkos shipper **AND** a Knightfall supporter, so I have my feet in both camps. Personally, I support Arkos for the wholesome-ness and enjoyable content, since even though IT IS a “vanilla” ship (boring, as you might say), it really warms my heart and I just like reading about it; there’s a pleasing simplicity to it that I find kind of uplifting and inspiring that will make me stick with it forever (and to an extent, the RWBY fandom). However, I also support Knightfall for the engaging drama/angst that might arise from such a pairing, and the possibility of narrative/thematic character growth for both characters involved; so far in the fics I’ve read Jaune’s been a blank-slate self-insert in all but name, colossal idiot comic relief, or a walking phallus in smut fics while Cinder almost always just gets punished, beaten down, and/or made fun of, so the two of them building up each other’s character is always welcome to me. I legitimately do think that Jaune and Pyrrha could have been a viable pairing if the latter lived though, since I think that Jaune might have had personal feelings for her that he just never realized. Call me vanilla trash, but I like being optimistic and sappy. I actually hope that Jaune and Pyrrha get more closure in some form, since while that scene in Argus with her statue and Pyrrha’s mom gives *some* closure I don’t think it ever totally healed the wound (at least to me personally), so I’m holding out hope that there’s something on the island which gives us that proper closure; I’ve seen a lot of theories and ideas, including your “Skimming Eye” fic, but one idea I’ve heard is that the Brother Gods are on that island and have mellowed out a bit, so they might give him a one-time chance to talk with her to let it all out once and for all. Really play into the Salem/Ozma parallel like you say, except things turn out for the better.
I think the thing that’s strained Arkos to me is, yeah like you said people believe she was perfect and died perfectly and continue to treat her as such (in- and out-universe), but also for another reason involving her death in the first place, since it seemed like she WANTED to die in a climactic way so went to fight against a woman she realistically had small chances of winning against when the SMART THING to do was just to run away to fight some other time cause she was already far away from Cinder when she sent Jaune away (if I remember Volume 3 correct), and that her “Do you believe in destiny?” line always felt a bit weird/forced to me since so far none of Cinder’s actions in the plot reference anything involving fate/destiny (I could be wrong, though I would KILL for some sort of Soul Mates stuff or how Cinder/Jaune’s fates are now intertwined); it feels abnormally forced to me is all. One smaller thing that’s doing it in for me is less on the show itself and more on the fandom, since they always assume they’d immediately get together had Pyrrha survived Volume 3. I read one fic from a long time back (“Eclipse” or “Twilight” - something like that I think it was titled, couple years back) that actually explored the idea, and I fell in love with the initial angst; ‘cause like, Pyrrha, girl, you kissed your partner on the lips and told him you loved him, then sent him away while you ran towards your DEATH. You don’t think there’s gonna be emotional heartbreak and distrust from him? Probably disconnected from my main points, but going on a separate tangent about making Arkos much more engaging would make this way longer than it already is.
On the other hand though, like I said, Knightfall offers up so many chances for personal character growth that is so under-utilized just ‘cause the fandom can’t seem to move on from itself. I think something that would really make me happy is that Jaune gets total proper closure with Pyrrha on the island (or in some other form), and that closure is what enables him to let go of his hate towards Cinder and then start a relationship with her after, you know, they most likely fight first, epic battle and all that for drama. Probably highly unlikely, all of this, but a man can only dream right?
Again, really, I am so, so, so, SO sorry if this is way too long for you or seems “tangent-y” and annoying, it’s just that I really had a lot of passionate feelings on the matter that I’ve kind of been bottling up that I thought I could release here.
On the lattermost note: yes, I do absolutely welcome that! The only thing I'm ever really hesitant receiving on my blog is like, an essay-length response on why something I like sucks, or why something I've posted is stupid, little more than refutal, and I think sometimes tone is lost over Internet and I'm honestly just a little sensitive. Everybody has been fabulously nice so far though, even when there was a hiccough here or there. I really appreciate anybody who feels like chatting honestly, especially if I receive context to an ask that's sent - I think sometimes with asks on Tumblr, YOU know what you mean, but me am person on other side of the screen who doesn't, and especially when I ship something relatively controversial, admittedly, I often expect the worst. For the record, no, your post was absolutely not too long at all. I always prefer being given more! And come on! This is like 'Talks Too Much' Central!!!
With that out of the way:
I definitely see and respect your thoughts, and I see where you're coming from. I was never an A/rkos shipper, and I do agree that if Pyrrha survived (which imo, if there is a version of that story, Pyrrha's identity is broken and she's a broken character - which is interesting!) the romance would not immediately resume itself. It's actually not nice to kiss Jaune and stuff him in a tin can, it's not a romantic True Love's Kiss, it's like, the Kiss of Death. So ultimately I think most depictions of the ship don't coalesce with how I view the show or respect the point of Pyrrha's tragedy.
On her death drive: hmm... I'm not sure if there's something Nietzschean about it, but you are correct, Pyrrha hurtled towards her fate pretty happily, and I read that more as the ultimate consequence of the Huntsman academies (and this is why I don't think they're treated entirely positively in the show). It's also the last fight of the Vytal Festival, quite appropriately, and... well... I mean what happened to good old fashioned fighting school manners? Cinder's like, I'll show you a fight.
Pyrrha was very young, she was steeped in idealism, and she thought it the most noble duty to go to her death... that's the stuff of children, dying for an ideal, and thinking it all stops here. It's a very narrow worldview. Jaune is left wounded, everybody is left wounded, even Cinder, now everybody considers it her blackest deed, when arguably I think it's one of her most just. (Pyrrha went there on her own terms).
So yeah... I don't think Pyrrha is thinking of the smart thing to do, because that's not what she's been raised in, and also like, she was meant to be the Fall Maiden, they picked her, and now she's not. I think the, 'Do you believe in destiny?' line is like one fucked-up attitude to another, both of them are disastrous, and I hate to say this because I think people might find it controversial but...
Cinder killing Pyrrha is what lets the possibility of her redemption in the future exist at all.
You're probably thinking like, what? what the fuck is wrong with you? It's the thing that MAKES her irredeemable (ha), the only murder she ever committed that's bad is PYRRHA, fuck what else, Idk. But consider, following Cinder and Jaune's intertwined fates:
it makes him rage at her and demand why she's like that; it ties them together (through him, balm is possible); it kills the ideal of the Huntress, that's all over with; it confirms that the Huntsman academies, on some level, are not right, even when that fate must be reconciled with (re: Gretchen... yes, Gretchen wanted to do the right thing, and the Huntsman academies exist in response to Salem, really, this is maybe another post); it's the wound that makes it possible to heal. It's death that gives life, and it kills any idea of who any of them could have been that they have to move past; it's the death of childhood. Oh and sorry, editing this to put this here: the poison and the love potion are essentially the same potion.
I do have to respectfully disagree on the Jaune/Pyrrha romance needing more closure, mostly because I disagree on the characterisation of his actions throughout V4-8 post-Pyrrha, and also because the point of V6 Jaune/statue!Pyrrha is from the angle of whether it is possible to persist onwards when their goal has completely changed. It's a situation that even Pyrrha didn't know about that she died for. That's the salt in the wound. Salt is also cleansing. The fact people read that as romantic as opposed to being related to the fact Pyrrha died for something she didn't fully understand... troubles me? It's not a great situation, anyway, since most of fandom is attached to true love Jaune/Pyrrha, and I acknowledge that I am hostile to that. So I always encourage other people to take what I say with a grain of salt. But I mean, the Jaune/Ruby hug in V6 when they return back safely is very platonic; it's very significant, though, because she didn't die, just like he's feared since Pyrrha's death, that nobody will come back.
I think that element of Jaune's character is dismissed... pretty severely by fandom. It's not that his girlfriend died, his TEAMMATE died, and it could happen at any time. The thread between Pyrrha, Weiss and Ruby on this front is... important. Diminishing that, I think, weakens every single character in this scenario, especially the Jaune and Ruby friendship, which is my favourite in the show, followed by Ruby and Weiss.
Personally, I would prefer that the island is a Special World, rather than an underworld (Campbellian katabasis needs a Special World, not necessarily an underworld whence you return with knowledge/boon). An underworld is pretty overdone, and for Ruby's case, her mother won't be there. On the brother gods: I disagree that them mellowing out makes sense or that they're actually good at all, but I have a crackpot theory I'm not sure whether I'm comfortable sharing. All I'll say is that the Relic Spirits are benevolent (and Jinn is a benevolent matriarchal figure to Ruby in V6), and the brother gods are spiteful and petty. I don't like them. I think they're probably the big bad after Salem.
It's very interesting to hear from somebody ships both Jaune/Pyrrha and Jaune/Cinder, since I am the thoroughly monogamous, soulmates-to-end-all-soulmates type of person for an OTP (I don't think Jaune/Pyrrha were in love, but I do admit there was romance there; I just contest the after the fact depiction, including and especially because fridged girlfriend is borderline sexist stuff I'm not interested in). I mostly disagree that Jaune/Pyrrha would work after the fact, if she lived (she would be a completely different character) because Jaune's not his true realised self yet, that's after the fact, and unfortunately from a symbolic perspective... sigh... you are all booing me right now, Cinder is his anima, all of the endgame romances are anima/animus, he's not symbolically whole without confronting/integrating her. Jaune/Pyrrha is like, the idealism of childhood romance, much like Jaune's crush on Weiss. Also, I don't like the idea that like... Cinder is second-best. I really don't like that... I would be here for an established Jaune/Pyrrha relationship which breaks down, followed by Cinder, but like, she's not second-place he's settling for because Pyrrha's dead.
Knightfall is... difficult and confrontational, and messy, and it's the wound to fix all wounds, it's the highest price with the most valuable boon, it's the romance that starts after they both grow and then their character arcs - like that darling anon pointed out - are convergent, and then it's almost impossible for me to read one without the other. His lowest low at her highest high.
I'm glad you like Knightfall from the sounds of it. I'm not going to comment on what the fandom chooses to do with their characters, but specifically for me it's Volume 4 and onwards Knightfall that interests me. They're fundamentally changed after that - both of them are deeply wounded, Cinder is dehumanised with the Grimm arm (that we didn't know of at the time). That's most potent and interesting to me. Jaune and Cinder are such compelling characters and I absolutely adore them both, like they're my absolute favourite in the show, and easily two of my favourite male and female characters in a major property like RWBY.
On the note of fandom moving on: well... yeah, but RWBY committed itself to killing Penny, and it told the story on its own terms, so I do think they're going to do what they want to do, they did what they did with Ironwood despite people failing to read and confront the text and evident foreshadowing. I don't think fandom's attachment to Pyrrha at all hurts Jaune/Cinder. I do find it highly ironic that Pyrrha is immortalised in perfect memory, meanwhile a female character with five extra volumes of development is dismissed and discarded, but like, whatever!
Pyrrha fits the masculine ideal of a female character. She's cute, she's funny, she's awkward, she's well-meaning, she trains Jaune and sees something special in him, and he sees her as a person, she has a very attractive design (red/green/gold, she's already perfect complementary colours on her own, that's why when Ruby turns up, silver joins the mix), so she's palatable. She's only uncomfortable a character because other people hurt her, and she has a tragic fate.
Cinder is decidedly not the masculine ideal of a female character. She's messy and difficult and she didn't grow from pain, she over-relied on it, she was hurt and abused and she didn't become a better person, it atrophied her ability to accept that something better might be possible for her and other people might love her ('the truth is that nobody loves you'), she's SCARRED (I've received comments before on my blog that she's 'so much hotter' before she has scars), she's ANGRY, and she's HUNGRY. Once you open female hunger, it's a complete tin of worms. Most of all, her archetype is a masculine one. She's a Byronic hero(ine). Of course she's inaccessible, even to feminine fandom who loves their Byronic heroes.
So you'll have to forgive me if I do hold resentment to Pyrrha's characterisation, because ultimately Jaune/Pyrrha is everything I hate in an M/F ship, and the only reason I like it is because it's subverted on every level, and Jaune's angst is the absolute injustice and tragedy of her death, enabled at every single level of the hierarchy. MORE compelling than sad boyfriend, better for everybody. Besides which: who else has been let down?
I think... to some degree Jaune has left his vengeance behind. I've said this in the past, this is the major turn of V5, but I think yes, of all of the characters, he's the one who could 'see' Cinder. *drops fic title* The distance which fools the skimming eye.
It was lovely to hear your thoughts, and I'd love to hear more and continue discussing it. I hope my reply was thorough enough; if there's anything you'd like me to clarify (or equally, challenge me on), by all means. (o:
I'm having a lot of fun, so thank you!
I came to here to edit that... I think I was a little harsh on your ship (Jaune/Pyrrha), I was speaking quite frankly about my opinion. I did just want to address about what you said at the start of your ask: it’s not... the vanilla nature that makes me hate it, that’s the reason I’m not interested in shipping it, and you’re not boring at all just to be totally clear. The reason I have antipathy towards it is moreso fandom reaction, as I outlined above, and the gender dynamics of it are deeply unpalatable to me, at least in fanon characterisation.

Opinions on Molly Weasley????
You know, I actually don’t think I’m too far out in left field for her. Well, I might be strange in that we tend to see very polarized opinions on Molly: either she’s the greatest mother who ever mothered and the Weasleys are a perfect family or she’s an overbearing manipulative matriarch who’s secretly poisoning Harry with love potions into marrying her daughter.
Sort of like Ron, I wouldn’t say Molly’s a saint, but she’s also not one of the truly nasty characters (she’s not eating babies or feeding Harry love potions or anything). That said, she is far from the warm, generous, matriarch JKR presented her as.
First, she is overbearing . There’s nothing wrong with this, it’s just how her and Arthur’s dynamic works, but at the same time if Arthur ever did have a spine it’s been completely conditioned out of him. It’s also very telling that Ron marries the overbearing equivalent of his mother in Hermione Granger. I suspect Ron’s spine has also completely disappeared by the time we hit that delightful epilogue from canon.
As for the Weasleys, JKR sets them up to be the perfect family we can possibly (realistically) imagine. It’s huge, they all love each other and are fiercely loyal (except for Percy, the swine, we’ll get into this), they give Harry a sweater, it’s the family he wants so desperately that he marries the only available and socially acceptable option: Ginny (I could go on a rant about this for days, but guys, Harry shows way more interest in men than in women and I think 90% or Ginny’s attraction to him is that she’s a Weasley).
That said the Weasleys, and Molly herself, have major issues.
One, the money. I think JKR makes them poor to give contrast to the Malfoys. The Weasleys are nobly impoverished, they’re a wizarding family but understand more important things than money. The snobby Malfoys on the other hand have peacocks in their yard because rich people are inherently evil.
That said, most of this is because Arthur and Molly completely mismanage finances. There’s nothing wrong with having seven children, but the Weasleys clearly cannot afford to have seven children. More, we see them spend money instantly when they have it. Ron is left without a wand for a year but the second Arthur wins the lottery, rather than save the money, WE’RE GOING TO EGYPT. Even the year before, money that might have gone towards emergency situations such as: my son’s wand broke is used to take Molly, Arthur, and Ginny to Egypt. They buy tickets to the Quidditch World Cup. The Weasleys don’t have that kind of money and then they go and are extremely bitter that Lucius Malfoy does have that kind of money. Yes, I’m sure the Malfoys were always wealthier than the Weasleys, but at the same time the Weasleys are the type to buy iphones for their kids when they’re on food stamps.
I’m getting a little distracted though, back to Molly.
I’d say Molly is far more traditional than JKR ever intended for her to be. She’s progressive enough that she supports muggleborns (they should get to go to Hogwarts and be very appreciative) but she also doesn’t think they should get too far ahead of themselves (we’ll get into this). She’s a raging misogynist (we’ll get into this). She is extremely judgmental and can flip on you at the drop of a hat with the barest of evidence. She never really does anything about Harry’s situation despite having very good evidence of its realities. And despite her family’s extreme poverty, even when all the kids are in boarding school, we don’t see her try to take up a job or even take up some etsy equivalent where she can enchant shit and sell it. There’s nothing wrong with staying home to raise the kids, but at the same time, I think for Molly it’s because “this is what the wife does”.
Right, well, that actually was a lot.
Let’s start with Harry. Molly is witness to seven years of Harry’s childhood abuse and seems to take no action regarding it. Now, Fred and George are dubious sources, so them telling Molly that “hey Harry’s house had bars on his window” might not be taken seriously. Harry also is generally very private and embarrassed about his home life. That said, there are many many signs, and while Hermione practically lives at the Burrow ever since third or fourth year Harry has to spend every single summer with the Dursleys even before Voldemort’s return.
Granted, I have gone over that I don’t think child protection or even a good understanding of abuse exists in the Wizarding World. I think to wizards you’re stuck with the family you’ve got, and if your pureblood grandfather is raping you then it sucks to be you. That said, the Weasleys are such a central part of Harry’s life that I would expected them to do *something*. Instead it’s like Harry’s situation is... vaguely acknowledged but mostly ignored.
Now, the Weasleys don’t have the money for an eighth kid (though Harry’s so absurdly wealthy he could help lighten the load were he to live with them) so I don’t hold this too much against them but... I would hope that a truly good family would have noticed Harry’s situation and tried to do something about it.
Right, the judgement part. The Weasley family’s unofficial disowning of Percy was horrible. This is going to be controversial, but Percy actually made some excellent points. Dumbledore and Harry’s story about Voldemort’s resurrection does sound nuts, the guy’s been dead ten years, he isn’t Jesus. More, it comes from Harry Potter who is young, traumatized, and has generally been erratic throughout the time Percy’s known him. And parts of what he says aren’t wrong. Why do the Weasley’s worship Dumbledore and listen to everything this man says? Dumbledore does do things like recruit child soldiers from the boarding school he runs. Dumbledore’s a shady guy.
Mostly though, while Percy not believing Harry and Dumbledore is bad, I always got the feeling that a lot of the resentment and disowning was that Percy dared to do better than his father. Percy rises through the ranks quickly in the ministry, he’s extremely competent, where his father has been stuck in the same dead end joke of a job for years. Arthur even accuses Percy of having his position because Fudge is spying on Arthur. Which... no, Arthur, no. And the family just loathes him for it. They loathe him and it’s terrible.
And I’m sure Dumbledore meanwhile is just dying that they’ve forced Percy out when Percy was in the perfect position to be a spy in the Ministry. I can just picture him drinking with Snape after Molly’s told him, tears in her eyes, that Percy is cut off because he betrayed the family, wondering what kind of morons are in the Order.
Beyond Percy there’s what Molly does to Hermione in 4th year. And good god, this is also where the misogyny comes in. Rita Skeeter writes that Hermione, a fourteen-year-old girl, is a harlot and Molly not only a) believes it but b) becomes extremely judgmental of Hermione and essentially calls her a jezebel to her face. Molly, what the hell? Hermione’s life has been ruined by the tabloids for something that didn’t happen, and even if it did is nothing she should be slandered for, and Molly’s going “THAT WHORE”.
This is after Skeeter had slandered Arthur just that summer over the Quidditch World Cup incident and Molly hadn’t believed any of it for a second. So, either Hermione’s being a girl or her being an uppity muggleborn or both somehow makes this believable...
Molly’s very similar with Fleur. She doesn’t approve and I always got the feeling it was in part because Fleur is not the traditional sort of woman she’d want Bill to marry (Fleur is a working woman at Gringotts and more is elegant refined beauty rather than a girl next door who’d make a great housewife) but also because Fleur’s foreign. Bill should marry a nice, English, woman and instead he ends up with this French quarter-veela.
Had Harry done anything to offend Molly, or even if Dumbledore had simply gone “You know what, Harry’s awful, we hate him”, then I would expect he too would have been completely cut off and thrown back into the gutter where he belongs.
So, Molly sucks and is not nearly as progressive as JKR intended, but is she feeding Harry love potions to marry Ginny and make the family wealthy? No.

What did you say about science?
Hey. I know you don’t like taking medicine. Like pills. You don’t like the idea of vaccination. You don’t like meds. Because you don’t like the big farma stuff, and it’s okay not to like the big farma stuff. I mean, you don’t like capitalism, you don’t like when your health is used as fuel for some rich person’s money-making car. Okay. That’s valid.
It’s just. Understand me there. Medicine isn’t made from a formula someone pulled out of their ass. It’s not unnatural and bad because it was synthesised. The ingredients in the medicine you choose not to take are synthesised from things that exist in nature. Your herbal tea there? It’s aspirin, just less effective. Your immune system? The stuff that stops you from dying of the flu? It grows stronger after you’ve caught a disease, right? That’s what a vaccine does. It’s litterally what it does. It gives you an innocent baby version of a virus, and teaches your immune system to kick its ass, so it will know how to kick adult version’s ass later. That’s all.
Of course, it’s alright not to trust what people sell you, you don’t trust what’s inside the vaccine, it’s alright. Just. Are you absolutely certain you’re applying this criticism to that tea you bought on etsy? Or that potion your mutual on internet told you to drink? Or that piece of incense you’re supposed to sniff to “push your disease away”, or something? Are you sure you can trust that essential oil to “rearrange your shakras”, and not poison you on the spot ‘cause it’s not supposed to be ingested????
This criticism, are you also applying it to the effectiveness of what you’re taking? You don’t like to take aspirin but you love drinking that safe herbal tea, which has the same effect after you drink a whole teapot? Okay. It’s alright. You’ll pee a lot, but in the end of the day, no harm done.
On the other hand, when you’re telling someone with cancer that plants will heal them better than chemo???? Stop. Nah bro, it won’t. Some plants might help. Some plants might make things a little better, yes. But. Science. Works. Science is there to help you. Science is one of the reasons humanity is still there to this day, ‘cause with the sum of bullshit a single human does in one life, we wouldn’t be half as many as we are today if we didn’t have science.
Please, consider the reason why people came up with vaccines. Consider why  decades old remedies are still used for aspirin, paracetamol and all that. consider why science exists. Look at what you’re being suspicious about, then apply your suspicions to the alternatives you found to science. If the result is the same, I guess it’s alright. If it’s not? If it’s harmful? Perhaps reconsider using it, alright?
Anyway, this has been a PSA on the common sense that’s still lacking in too many people to this day. Witchcraft doesn’t discard science, ‘cause it was all that people had before science came along and saved thousands. Religion doesn’t make science bullshit either, they can coexist just fine! Please, apply commmon sense and critical thinking to your actions towards others or yourself.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk, folks, and remember: safety first, safety second, witchy times third!

Tumblr media
17th Century France The Palace of Alderaan --
Your heart thrums rapidly in your chest, so much so that you can hear its clear pulsing in your ears. The small vile of love brew is clenched in your trembling palm, pearlescent substance quivering and bouncing along with your strides.
Meeting in the daylight has you even more fearful than usual, but you know that you must. The love brew is absolutely essential to your plot and the only way that it will get dropped into his Majesty’s wine glass is by kitchen staff hand.
A young woman with a stained apron and simple gray dress is tapping her foot against the grassy ground as she looks around. She startles slightly when you appear around the side of the structure and approach.
“Miss.” She bows slightly. “Do you have the potion?”
You nod, handing her the small vial and a small pouch of coin. “Here it is. And here is the payment we discussed. I hope you understand how crucial it is to keep this interaction quiet.”
She nods quickly, nervously. “Of course, madame. Not a word will be spoken about it from this moment forth.”
“Excellent. I thank you for your discretion.”
You offer her a small smile before beginning the trek back up to the main castle.
When you return to Phasma’s quarters, you cannot tear your eyes away from the box that lay on the Lady’s bed, the one you’d delivered to her just hours ago. Anxiety grips you and keeps a firm hold the entire time Lady Phasma gets dressed for tonight’s meal with the King.
You’re holding your breath as she laces up the diseased garment, pulling the ties tightly to cinch her waist. A long breath of great relief leaves your lips when she sits down at her makeup table, chest falling from where it was held up the duration of her dressing.
She gives you a look with furrowed brow through the mirror. “If you are finished daydreaming, I am ready for my hair and paint.”
“Yes, mademoiselle.” You say quickly, shaking your head softly as you walk up and begin pulling her straw blonde hair up atop her head.
----
The King and Queen are chatting with a few of the dinner guests when you and Lady Phasma enter the study for the pre-meal drinks. Your stomach does flips when you see the King sipping at his wine, the wine you’re sure is tainted with the potion.
He does not pay you much mind, which was to be expected, according to La Voisin. So, you go about drinking along with the guests, just waiting for a noticeable shift in the King’s attention.
Queen Rey, as per usual, gives Phasma dirty looks, fully aware of her husband’s affair with the tall blonde. She’s always been jealous of his array of mistresses because she made the mistake of falling in love with her arranged husband, while he barely considered her an acquaintance. A part of you feels sympathetic for her, but at the same time, you felt no pity for her.
Soon, the party shifts into the dining room where everyone takes their respective seats around the large table. The finest palace china lay at each place, along with shining, spotless utensils and large wine goblets.
Dinner is brought out shortly after everyone takes their seats and the dinner wine is poured. You sip nervously at the rich red, trying to do something, anything to calm your nerves. He still isn’t really paying you much mind and this fact unsettles you greatly.
Had the kitchen maid fibbed to you? Had she instead turned you in for your shady dealings?
The meal wears on and you’ve grown more and more anxious. Just when you’re sure you’ve been fooled, the King’s eyes fall unto you and your heart skips a beat as you offer him a small smile.
He cannot seem to tear his eyes from you as he participates in the light dinner conversation, only looking away for a few moments at a time before returning to you.
Your cheeks are burning up at his searing and unrelenting gaze, holding back nervous giggles as the servants clear the dinner plates, bringing out pudding to take their place.
It is blatantly obvious to you now that the potion has indeed been administered and a wave of pure relief washes over you, enjoying the King’s attention all during the last of the feast.
And even better? Lady Phasma has seemingly caught onto his sudden shift in attention, wearing a bitter pout as she pitifully picks at the cake on her china.
Pudding comes to a close a bit too soon for your liking and everyone begins to part ways, bidding a farewell and good night to the King and Queen. Lady Phasma says her goodbyes before you and then, you step up to the royal couple, giving them a polite curtsey.
King Kylo’s eyes fall to your prominent bosom where it’s nearly spilling from the top of your dress as you bow before him, meeting your gaze when you resume standing erect.
“Merci, Majesties.” You say, trying not to meet the King’s eyes for more than a moment at a time. “It is always a pleasure to dine with you.”
Queen Rey says nothing while King Kylo steps up and reaches out to take your hand, planting a soft kiss atop the skin. Her Majesty looks surprised at his motions, glaring up at him as he steps back into place beside her.
“De rien. It is always our pleasure to host you, Lady De Montespan.”
Your cheeks warm, nodding at the pair before showing yourself out. You have to bite down on your painted lip in order to keep from grinning with glee.
You’ve got the King right where you want him.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lady Phasma’s condition has dwindled drastically. She is frail as glass, thinned down to the skeleton and her skin is a sickly pale color. You’ve been required to wait on her hand and foot as her health declines, an unforseen and unexpected effect of your efforts. You don’t mind, though; it will soon be more than worth it.
The King has completely lost interest in the Lady, both due to her sudden unappealing looks and the potion’s influence. Whenever you’re in his presence, which is much more frequent now that the Lady is all but out of the picture, he cannot pay attention to anyone but you.
Now, it’s only a matter of time before he requests your presence in his quarters, only a matter of time before you take your rightful position as the new and improved Lady of Ren.
Oil lamps cast a dim yellow glow upon the room as you sip your evening tea, setting the cup back down on its matching saucer. A fire crackles in the fireplace, occasionally breaking up the tranquil silence hanging throughout the room.
Suddenly, the door opens and you startle, looking back in a somewhat annoyed state at the intruder of your alone time. But, that annoyance quickly melts away when you take in the face of the intruder.
You stand out of respect, giving the King a small bow. “Your Majesty.”
He nods, hands clasped behind his back as he strides over to the luxurious chair by the fire, taking a seat. You follow suit, sitting back down on the small lounging sofa.
A period of silence stretches between the two of you before his deep, strong voice slices through.
“How is Lady Phasma doing? Has her condition at all improved?”
You’re surprised by his question. You shake your head. “I am afraid not, your Majesty. The hospital is taking over her care by this time tomorrow.”
He nods wordlessly, looking into the crackling orange embers in the fireplace before turning his head to look into your eyes.
“May I ask what brings you to the lounge so late in the evening?” You ask, setting your tea aside. “Not that I am not enjoying your company, of course.”
Kylo chuckles, sitting up a bit and leaning forward in his seat. “I have not been able to stop thinking about you as of late, mademoiselle. You have weaved me into your web and I cannot seem to escape your seductive hold.”
He rises, then, striding over to you slowly.
“Now that Lady Phasma has fallen ill, I have found myself without proper womanly company...”
Your breath hitches and you rise from your seat, suddenly having the King towering over you, bodies pressed together. His hands fall to your hips while yours rise to grip his upper arms through his regal coat.
His head begins to relax and fall, steadily getting closer and closer to yours. You find yourself reaching up with your lips, suddenly craving contact.
Closer, his breath wafts across your face in a warm cloud...
Closer, barely any space between your lips now...
And then, they touch.

The Horcrux Theory: What if the Reason Tom Riddle Couldn’t Feel Love Was The Diary Horcrux?
Another bout of Insanity brought about by me, Papa Emma
I would like to preface this by saying that, yes, I know that it is canon that Dumbledore speculated that Tom Riddle could not feel love because he was conceived under the influence of a love potion. I shall give my counterargument to that, and we’ll get on with the good stuff. (A whisper in the background, “the good stuff.”)
First of all, the books go on and on about how the power of love is more powerful than any other magic in the Harry Potter universe. It even had the power to prevent baby Harry from certain death via Killing Curse. So why would it not be the same case with a mere love potion? So this theory rests on the belief that Tom Riddle could, in fact, love, because love cannot be erased for a mere potion.
Just to add to this, love is subjective. If Tom simply believes that he could love, then he could. (But he doesn’t really have time for love, doesn’t he? Stupid boy.)
So, to start with, we’ll explain how the soul works in this theory. There are five parts of the soul: the flesh, the blood, the eyes, the mind, and, of course, the heart. They are mingled amongst each other, connected almost but in the way that oil paint blends together on the canvas. They are connected, but they are One soul. They are separate parts of the soul, but still they are One soul.
The flesh is which covers you, your outward appearance, as it is. The blood is which flows through you and makes for the inner part of your body. The eyes are wish you see with, all things physical and metaphorical. The mind is the logical, objective part of you. The heart is which houses subjectivity, and, most importantly for the purposes of this theory, the emotions.
Taking this analogy further, one would say that how mingled these parts are with each other all depends on the owner of the soul. In Toms case, he is a person that keeps separate parts of his soul separate. Specifically, he of course thinks that the flesh, the blood, and the eyes are connected in the way that they are all physical aspects of himself, so these three parts are very mingled and connected. He keeps his mind and separate from these things, but inwardly knows that he needs the physical aspects of himself so that his mind is healthy. Finally, he keeps his heart away from these things. (It should be noted that the heart does not refer to the actual organ, but the heart asmetaphorical aspect of the person.)
In effect, his heart is isolated from the other parts of himself. He has essentially disconnected this part of himself so far away from the others for fear of it poisoning his flesh, his blood, his eyes, and his mind. The heart is just barely connected to his body, now. So he has control.
The act of killing someone causes the soul fragments to loosen, to become disrupted and yanked apart from each other. So when Tom Riddle makes his first kill, Myrtle, the part of his soul which is his heart becomes utterly disconnect from the others. Now it is still his soul, together they still make one soul, and this part of his soul is still pulled to the other parts of his soul, but it is not connected anymore. It does not mingle, and looks almost as if it is oil in water. It is, essentially othered.
Now that the soul is othered, it is much easier to pull it out of him. When Tom goes to carve it out of him, it should come out easy, right? But we must remember that the soul does not want to get separated. Even though this soul piece if othered, it will not go out without a fight. So when Tom goes to pull it out, some of his heart are left behind—the part that he deems is necessary. The part that feels anger, madness, ruthlessness. His ambition, his passion.
But his love, he rips it out forcefully. It is carved out easily, as this has been the part most disconnected from the others, the part that he had knowingly despised.
In the end, Tom Riddle carves out the love in his heart and puts it in a diary full of memories.

Juliet (Fortier) Clown Takes Part 2
And the saga continues!
“The essentials,” he [Alessandro] said, “are not what most people think. In my opinion, your story—and Romeo and Juliet as well—is not about love. It’s about politics, and the message is simple: When the old men fight, the young people die.”
Tell that to Arthur Brooke, who in his narrative poem explicitly wrote that his R&J was a cautionary tale about two stupid teens whose horniness led to their deaths. The R&J tale has been and can be interpreted in a number of ways depending on the writer, but it’s clear that Shakespeare yeeted Brooke et al.’s morality fable off into the stratosphere to create his own take, and no doubt he would have done the same with the make-love-not-war one.
“That,” I chuckled, “is remarkably unromantic of you.”
Are you kidding? This is the exact same bullshit awful hot takes he has been spouting for pages!
Alessandro shrugged. “Shakespeare didn’t see the romance either. Romeo is a little whiner, and Juliet is the real hero. Think about it. He drinks poison. What kind of man drinks poison? She is the one who stabs herself with his dagger. The manly one.”
Ancora questo cazzo bastardo
Crying because you’ve a) killed a guy for the very first time, b) sentenced to exile, and c) going to be separated from your lover (which Juliet also does!!!) makes no one a whiner. Apart from that, Romeo literally does not whine, not even when he is mooning over Rosaline—there he reads mostly passive and performative. Your toxic masculinity is showing, Alessandro.
As for Juliet being the “real hero” because she kills herself with a dagger, even ten year old cto10121 picked up (if very vaguely) on the sexual symbolism of the cup (chalice) and the dagger (blade). Romeo drinking from the poisoned cup (not even a vial, as Juliet’s coma potion is) and Juliet plunging that hard dagger into her soft flesh is the straightest of straight things that ever straightened. Not one curve to be found. You lot would jokingly call it homophobic hate content and on Reddit it’d get crossposted to r/AretheStraightsOkay. Even that juvenile and shallow Abridged Works of William Shakespeare show had a gag where Juliet pulls Romeo’s (very tiny) dagger. It’s really hard to miss.
As for Juliet being supposedly masculine or heroic or “male-coded,” (ugh) she, too, weeps “immoderately” for Romeo’s banishment, to the point where Capulet cites it as a key factor in his decision to marry her off to Paris. The Nurse explicitly draws comparison when she first sees Romeo weeping on the floor: “O he is even in my mistress’ case, / Just in her case…Even so lies she, / Blubb’ring and weeping, weeping and blubbering.” And then there’s the fact that while Romeo says that banishment from Juliet is torture and is banishment from the world, Juliet says that even the words “Romeo is banished” are worse than if her father, mother, Tybalt, Romeo, and herself were all dead. She concludes that scene by saying that Death, not Romeo, would take her virginity.
I’m just saying that you don’t want to get into a game of Who Is More Extra(tm) with these two because whoever you think is whiny and overdramatic…you’d be wrong. R&J aren’t the most constant and passionate lovers for nothing. They earn every last bit of their reputation.

what about hcs for the yandere dorm leaders with a darling that refuses to eat any food that was not prepared by herself, she has a long list of food allergies and after a few "incidents" she decided to just not eat anything that has been made by someone else
warnings: general yandere themes, mentions of disordered eating, mentions of violence
riddle rosehearts
riddle isn’t too bothered by this- he doesn’t need food to keep his darling on a tight leash
it might bother him when he wants to have a tea party with his darling and they refuse to touch the food, not even the tea; he feels like it’s an absolute lack of respect for the traditions of his dorm, and he might get snappy
riddle’s darling is lucky- he’ll allow them to use the kitchen to cook their meals. he is no good at cooking, so there’s no window of opportunity for them to turn down food he cooked and hurt his feelings- something they’d surely not want to do
however, he’ll be watching like a hawk every second they spend in the kitchen: just because they’re cooking doesn’t mean they just suddenly become free
riddle memorized all of the NRC and queen of hearts’ rules- he can memorize every single one of his darling’s allergies with no problems. he may become infuriated if they refuse to eat food he’s deemed safe; they have to stop being so insolent, damnit!
in general, he’ll do his best to get his darling to stop being so picky, just because he hates having to let them roam the kitchen and not have the tea parties he envisions as “perfect” with them, but it’s ultimately not out of any further ill will, like poisoning them or slipping any sort of potion in their food
leona kingscholar
huh? they won’t eat food unless it was prepared by them? leona thinks it’s quite haughty of them to act like that, and incredibly fucking annoying
sure, ok, allergies. that’s a bother, but it’s not the end of the world: even with their long list of allergies, it’s not impossible to get food they can eat. and even then they refuse it!? just because they didn’t make it?!
leona may allow them to cook for themselves once or twice, but it’s such a bother, he won’t do it often
his darling has essentially two choices: eat the food he offers, or starve. it’s quite simple, and leona can be surprisingly pushy
he isn’t stupid enough to try and feed them anything that they’re allergic to- he doesn’t quite know how deadly their allergies are, and he isn’t going to find out. he isn’t trying to kill them, damnit
his darling better expect to get roughed up if they refuse to eat. so they’re going to act like a little cub refusing to eat, huh? maybe after some not-so-gentle persuasion they’ll fucking open up- unless they’d like for leona to press his hand against their windpipe and cut off their air again, of course
azul ashengrotto
azul is careful with what he eats, but... this is a completely different level, isn’t it...?
he’s actually not bad at cooking himself, since his parents owned a restaurant- making meals that work around his darling’s allergies isn’t a big bother at all
... when his darling refuses them, they’ll certainly wish they hadn’t done that.
azul isn’t the most emotionally stable when it comes to his darling: his obsession with them goes farther than just infatuation, and he’s constantly in need of reassurance and affection, or else he falls into desperation
so refusing food he made? an absolute no-go. he’s pissed and he’s hurt- hell, he might even force it down his darling’s throat while crying about it
maybe if they hadn’t upset him about it, he’d have considered allowing them to make their own meals, but that’s all ruined now. from there on, it’s eat what he brings or else
he’ll desperately tell his darling every ingredient, how much care he put into the food; unless they want him to spiral into one of his breakdowns and just shove the food in them, they better eat what he brings out
kalim al-asim
ah... well, he can relate a bit
kalim isn’t allergic, but... well, he can’t trust food as freely as others can; not with so many poisoning attempts, he can’t
kalim himself isn’t allowed to cook much, but he’s also had poison tasters around- will his darling feel better if he has the poison tasters taste their food as well...?
of course he’s mindful of their allergies- he doesn’t see it as too much to hire a special chef just for his darling, who can cook while keeping their allergies in mind. he really doesn’t see this as a “waste of money”- its to keep his darling safe, right?
still... his darling refuses to eat. far from being angry, he worries- it’s not poisoned, see? he swears it’s safe...!
if nothing else works, he’ll see it so a small kitchen is installed in the room where he keeps his darling. of course, it has all the safety he can find- which may limit what his darling can cook, but... it’s necessary, isn’t it?
in the end, kalim’s obsessive tendencies come from a need to protect his darling and keep them from the harm he believes is out for them. if they want to cook for themselves, he’ll allow it; although he’s probably going to be watching over their shoulder, so they don’t hurt themselves
vil schoenheit
this... does not align with vil’s plans at all
surely his darling doesn’t think he’s so daft as to somehow forget their allergies, are they? he knows about health- he can very well choose a meal and talk with cooks to make sure it’s safe for them
vil wants his darling to be almost doll-like; he wants to dress them, feed them, do their hair and makeup, and have them by his side at all times. so his darling’s insistence to cook for themselves... he won’t have it
thoughts of his darling nicking their skin with knives, burning their hands with hot water or a hot pan, oil burns- he shudders at the thought. no, he simply cannot allow it
... not to mention... vil’s way of keeping his darling as he wishes them to be is using potent love potions he brews himself; if his darling refuses all food they didn’t make, then... how is he supposed to keep them loving?!
he won’t allow them to starve themselves. once he sees they refuse to eat all food he brings, he decides to take more drastic measures. all it takes is one slightly too strong dose of love potion down their throat, and once it takes effect, they’re so docile and lovey-dovey they could almost eat out of his hand
even still, he’s quite careful with what he gives his precious doll to eat; allergies, a balanced diet, vitamin supplements... it’s very clear he enjoys this, having this control over them
idia shroud
idia panics a bit. that’s... a lot of allergies... and they won’t eat anything they didn’t make...?
idia is at a loss. what- what can he even do? his naturally anxious personality makes him worry over it, perhaps even more than his darling themselves does
he’ll try with sealed foods he knows his darling isn’t allergic to- it’s sealed, nobody could have tampered with it! that’s the way he sees it, and he’ll desperately try to get his darling to see it the same way
just please eat something, gods, please-
he... might just let them starve for a while. do they really want to not eat foods brought from the cafeteria? not even packaged foods? then he gives up- they can eat nothing, in that case
eventually, his goading and starvation will make his darling cave in and just... eat what he offers
idia hopes that at least, this means they’ll eat regularly. s-see?! he didn’t slip anything in their food, they’re fine! and- he remembered all their allergies, he has them written down!
he just hopes they’ll eat from then on- if not... then it’s the cycle of starvation, then giving in all over again; if it goes on for a while, he might just give up and slip love potion in their food so they’ll trust him... he wouldn’t have slipped anything in their food, if they’d just trusted him...
malleus draconia
this is... difficult. humans need to eat fairly often- malleus is highly aware of this, but his darling is making it clear they won’t eat food made by others. they say they’ve had... incidents, in the past (and it doesn’t help that they don’t trust him at all- after all, he locked them in a tower and calls them his lover against their will)
malleus frets over his darling not eating when he brings them food; he swears he’s taken into account all their allergies, but... still, nothing works
it’ll take a few days of his darling refusing to eat for him to crack down. he’s scared, and worried- his darling isn’t eating, no matter how much he tries to affirm them the food is safe. he feels hurt; he... he would never even think of poisoning them or feeding them something they’re allergic to, and yet...
he’ll allow them to make their own food- as long as they’re watched over by him, lilia, or one of his knights. of course he worries that they might harm themselves, but... when he thinks of his darling slowly wasting away, he reckons this is the only way
it’s quite stressful, and his darling better not be surprised if malleus takes away their cooking privileges if they misbehave. it’s a carrot and stick ordeal: if they wish to cook their own meals, they have to act nice... it’s only fair, right?

I Loved You, Mr. Scamander; Chapter 2
Tumblr media
━━━•✦.✧. Author’s Note.✧.✦•━
Chapter 2 is O U T!
GOSH THE AMOUNT OF RESEARCH I DID JUST TO MAKE THIS CHAPTER.
Besides the point, I had a lot of fun doing the research. (Where was this version of me in high school-)
I hope you guys enjoy it! This chapter is a bit longer than I anticipated. It was a mix of research, personal experiences, and listening to the same song for hours-
You can find the playlist and the taglist form link in my bio! (Or you can just comment, send an ask, or PM- whichever feels comfortable)
━━━━━•✦.✧. Summary .✧.✦•━
After Hogwarts, (Y/N) and Victoria become the MOM’s Investigation Department’s secret weapon. While celebrating the completion of a recent case, she meets someone new. Who knew that this someone is related to her first love?
━━━━━•✦.✧. Add-Ons .✧.✦•━
A little back story of what happened during their last year at Hogwarts
Theseus~! ( Gosh, I hope I didn’t write him too out of character. Then again, in this chapter, he’s fresh out of WWI )
Victoria and (Y/N)’s friendship is solely based on the friendship I have with my fellow RavenPuff best friend. ( If she ever finds this fic, though I doubt it, I love you~! )
Fluff! (Hopefully)
Theseus and Reader being oblivious to these coincidences.
CLICHE ROMANCE STUFF. I’M A HOPELESS ROMANTIC, OKAY???
Hilarity ensues
Blood, but it’s a short scene
Slight angst at the end
━━━━━━•✦.✧.☾.✧.✦•━━━━━
Before Newt left, he promised to owl them. He was set on working for the Ministry to work with magical creatures in some way. Though his letters always came at odd hours- stupid time zones.
The day after Newt's expulsion, (Y/N) and Victoria had cut ties with Leta. They couldn’t trust her after what had happened. Despite all that, (Y/N) wished Leta the best in life.
For once the roles reversed, Victoria wanted to hex the hell out of Leta, but (Y/N) talked her out of it. Told her that it wasn’t worth it. Instead of spending all that energy on hating someone, it was better to wish them the best and let them go.
Sixth year had come to an end. On the day everyone was set to go back home for the summer holiday, Headmaster Dippet had summoned Victoria to his office.
“Headmaster Dippet,” She said as she stepped into his office. “What can I do for you?”
“You can take this, Miss Howard.” He replied, his hand gesturing to a small, yet elegant metal box that sat near her side of the desk.
Puzzled, Victoria walked closer. She hesitantly grabbed the box and opened it. On the small cushion, laid a navy blue pin, with the words HEAD GIRL in bronze.
“T-This is an honor, sir.” She stumbled, picking it up. It was funny how valuable a small badge would be. How much weight and responsibility it held while being almost as light as a feather.
“I want you to wear it on the first day back.” He gave a small smile.
“I understand, Professor. I can’t thank you enough-“
“Hush child. Come next year, you’ll curse me out for giving you the responsibilities.”
In their final year at Hogwarts, they made it their best year yet. They went to all the Quidditch games and Hogsmeade trips. They studied their hardest and gave it their all. When they graduated, they both got “Exceeds Expectations” and “Outstanding” in all the subjects needed to apply for the Auror Training Program. These subjects were Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, Herbology, and Charms.
~*~*~
Auror training required strenuous work to complete, but nothing they couldn’t handle. It was mandatory to undergo a rigorous series of character and aptitude tests. These tests showcased how well they reacted under pressure. They trained extensively in advanced magical combat, other elements of practical defense, and methods of criminal investigation.
Other training courses were Concealment and Disguise, Stealth and Tracking, Battle Instinct, Best-Laid Plans, Duelling in the Dark, Field Training, History of the Dark Arts, Method in the Mad-Eye, Resilience Training, and The Auror Advantage; while poisons and antidotes were also essential studies. Their training lasted for three years and was difficult work.
(Y/N) excelled in courses like Battle Instinct and Dueling in the Dark. Victoria showed her prowess in courses like Stealth and Tracking and Best-Laid Plans. Their personalities complimented each other. Apart, they had their successes, but together? They were a force not to be reckoned with. You’ve heard of power couples, but they were a powerful dynamic duo.
The Ministry of Magic in the Investigation Department is where they started. They were the department’s secret weapon. The only people who knew of them were those also in the Investigation Department. If they left the department due to any reason, they would be obliviated of their memory of (Y/N) and Victoria.
•.✧.🔎.✧.✦•
Another report was finalized and another dark wizard in Azkaban. In celebration, Victoria had convinced (Y/N) to go out to a pub with her. Coincidentally, the muggle world was celebrating a victory of their own.
At the pub, (Y/N) and Victoria was sitting at the bar, both on their second glass of Sidecar cocktail. Their work clothes were more wrinkled than usual as they relaxed on the stools.
The place was hot (despite it being winter), loud, and reeked of perfume and alcohol. People were celebrating the victory of “The War to End All Wars”. Men in uniforms were all around. Some were at home with loved ones. Others were kissing random strangers at the pub or hanging around with their mates. Then there were a couple of groups raising a glass to their fallen comrades.
“I’m headed to the restroom. You coming?” Victoria asked after finishing her glass.
(Y/N) swished her drink in her glass. “I’m good. I’ll wait here for you.”
Victoria nodded, “Alright, dear. Remember no boys, and if one won’t leave you alone- hex him or punch him.”
(Y/N) gave her a look.
Victoria laughed. “Be alert.” She said before leaving.
She nodded, “I will, Vi. I always am.” (Y/N) let out a sigh as she watched Victoria walk towards the restroom.
Her train of thought started with work but soon drifted to Newt. Over the years, she and Newt continued to stay in touch. Since she graduated, Newt had served on the Eastern Front- not in the war, no. He was there to wrangle some Ukrainian Ironbellys. That year, Augustus Worme commissioned him to write a book about magical creatures.
“Of course he took the job. It’s the perfect job for him…” She mumbled before taking another sip.
If there was anything (Y/N) wanted to do right now, it would be to go home. Being at a pub wasn’t her thing- neither was it Victoria’s, but she let it slide this time. ‘To whatever God or higher celestial being up there, please keep Newt safe.’ She thought, staring at the remaining liquid.
“Hey, what’s a pretty little lady like you doing in a place like this all by herself?” A male voice cooed as he sat on the barstool to her left.
Snapping out of her thoughts, (Y/N) turned to face a man in uniform. He had short blonde hair (but if it were any longer, it would break regulation) and light brown eyes. Attractive? Yes. Her type? Definitely not.
“I’m not here by myself,” (Y/N) eyed the single chevron patch sewn on the upper half of his uniform’s sleeve. “-Private.” She said before meeting his gaze. “I’m here with a friend.”
“Private Keaton Williams.” He said as he took one of her hands in his, bringing it up to kiss her knuckles.
‘Merlin’s beard. Where’s Victoria?’ She thought as she saw the satisfaction on his face. (Y/N) slowly retracted her hand, holding it close to her chest.
“Thank you, Private- er, Williams. But I should be looking for my friend.” She said, getting ready to stand.
He held onto her wrist, preventing her from leaving. “Come on. We both know it’s a lie. You’re not really here with anyone.” Keaton teased.
She tried to think of a way to turn him down. She couldn’t hex him- he was a muggle. There were rules about using magic in the presence of muggles! And she couldn’t punch him. How could she punch a man who had fought for the country she called home?
“She’s with me.” said another male’s voice. This time, it came from behind her.
Keaton looked past (Y/N) to see another man in uniform. “Oh wow. I’m another bloke in a uniform. What makes you so special?” He mocked.
“I don’t condone men flaunting their uniform as a way to catch a woman’s heart.” The one behind her replied. “I’ve dealt with idiots like him. Play along.” He whispered in her ear. (Y/N) nodded, before taking back her wrist.
“I know how to get what I want 's all,” Keaton boasted, then turned his attention back to (Y/N). “Let’s go, love. Let this soldier show you a good time.”
(Y/N) turned to get a look at her savior. Oh great. Yet she stared for a second longer- he looked so familiar.
Shaking her head from her thoughts, she leaned into his chest. “I’m sorry, Private Williams. You had no chance from the start. This soldier had already caught my attention.”
The man looked shocked for a split second before playing along with her little skit. “Ah yes. I’m glad I was able to return home to the love of my life all in one piece.” He said before wrapping an arm around (Y/N)’s shoulder.
She blushed. ‘Love of his life? No- stop it. It’s a ruse.’
Keaton looked at the other, eyeing his rank. “What’s a Sergeant got that I don’t?”
The man shifted, a crimson ribbon pinned to the pocket flap of his left breast pocket revealing itself. “I have the right mind to back off when a woman says no.”
Keaton looked again, seeing the ribbon, and gasped. The Victoria Cross Award. “Y-You’re him. T-That Theseus guy… The War Hero.”
Theseus. The name of her saviour was revealed!
Theseus rolled his eyes. “It’s Sergeant to you. Now scram before I report you to your commanding officer.”
“Y-Yes Sergeant,” Keaton said before walking away from the pair.
(Y/N) let out a sigh of relief as she relaxed her shoulders. “Thank you… Theseus, was it?”
Theseus hummed in agreement, removing his arm from her shoulder. “It’s no problem…” He trailed off, running his hand through his hair.
She turned in her chair to face him. His hair now slightly messed up due to his recent action. His uniform suited him- good and squared away. But his face. It was so damn familiar. It was as if she’d seen those blue eyes somewhere before.
“Uh… Like what you see?” Theseus joked.
(Y/N) blushed. “I-I didn’t mean to stare…” A small pause before sticking her hand out, “I’m (Y/N).”
Theseus gently took her hand, bringing it to his lips, and placed a gentle kiss on her knuckles. “Theseus. Charmed to meet you.”
‘Did… Did he just…?’ (Y/N) giggled, taking her hand back and interlocking her fingers together. “So what’s a wizard like you serving in the military?”
He sighed, sitting on the seat that was once Victoria’s, “The military part was a cover-up to get me on the front lines. Even if the muggles were at war, that didn’t mean dark wizards would stop their heinous crimes. I was working double time. A field agent for the Ministry and a Sergeant for the British Armed Forces.”
(Y/N) nodded. “Thank you for your service… For our world and theirs.” She smiled at him.
The silence was deafening between them, but it wasn’t awkward in any way. It was more comforting.
(Y/N) brought herself to look at his eyes again, her pupils dilating. His eyes made her heart swell with love- the type of love she reserved only for Newt. Though, she couldn’t help but spill a little bit of that to Theseus. Love at first sight?
Theseus returned the smile. How could someone, let alone a stranger he met, be this beautiful? His mind drifted to a small montage of made-up scenarios. He could see a growing relationship with her- a family even. Would his mother approve? Would Newt approve? She’d make a great addition to the Scamander family.
“Sorry I took too long. Ready to- Merlin, (Y/N)! I leave for five minutes!” Victoria’s voice yelled from behind Theseus.
“Sorry about that.” (Y/N) mumbled.
He turned in his seat to face Victoria. “I-I’m sure you’d like an explanation, but first, hello.” He stuttered.
(Y/N) emerged from behind him, walking over to her friend. “Vi! This is Theseus. Theseus this is my best friend, Victoria.”
‘He looks so familiar. I’ve seen his face somewhere before.’ Victoria thought.
•✦.✧.🔎.✧.✦•
On Theseus and (Y/N)’s first date, they went to a coffee shop.
“So you’re part of the law enforcement? Are you sure you retired from your military work?” She joked.
Theseus chuckled softly before sipping on his tea- he was never a coffee person. “First, yes. I’m retired. And yes, I work within law enforcement. I’m what you call “well respected”. And what about you, love?”
She blushed. “I work in the field then do some paperwork. That’s all. Nothing that special.”
“Hm…” He thought for a moment before an idea popped into his head. “Ever thought about working for the Ministry? They could use a couple of recruits in the Auror Department. I’m sure Victoria would join as well. Training is only about three years and with your skills, I’m sure you two would be a great Aurors.”
(Y/N) smiled before sipping on her cup of coffee. ‘Only if you knew…’
~*~*~
For their next date, they went out for a walk in the park. It was cold out, so they wore their long coats and their house scarves.
“No way! You were a Hufflepuff? I thought you were a Gryffindor!” (Y/N) exclaimed as he neared their meeting spot.
Theseus smiled, “Well, hello to you too.” He then stood in front of her, ruffling her hair. “Well then, Little Miss Ravenclaw, aren’t you full of surprises?” He teased.
She huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. “What house did you think I was in…?”
He gestured to his Hufflepuff scarf.
“If the Sorting Hat sorted me again, I’m pretty sure I’d be in Hufflepuff. If Victoria got sorted again… She’d definitely be a Slytherin.”
“Then again, you’re the feistiest Ravenclaw I’ve ever met.” Theseus teased, poking her cheek softly.
(Y/N) swatted his hand away from her face, “W-Well you’re the cockiest Hufflepuff I’ve ever met.
~*~*~
The third time they went out, they went to a fancy restaurant.
“Theseus… Where are we going?” She asked as they walked hand in hand.
“Somewhere special. I’ve been dying to take you out here for months.”
“Oh?” She asked. “What did I do to deserve this?”
He smiled as they turned the corner. “Ah, here we are!”
(Y/N) looked at the building and gasped. “Theseus… The Ritz?! This must've cost you a fortune!”
He kissed her cheek, “Anything for you.”
~*~*~
Then came their fourth date. Theseus had decided on that night, he’d make their relationship official. He would’ve done it sooner, but he’d only met her a year ago. He wanted time to get to know her and make sure it wasn’t an impulse decision. To his surprise, she agreed. So after a year-long wait, he took his chance. Nothing to lose… right?
After dinner, they decided to take a walk in the park. A last-minute plan she was not dressed for.
“You know, despite its kleptomania for shiny things, I always wanted a Niffler. They’re such interesting creatures.” She admitted.
Theseus chuckled- a sound that was now music to (Y/N)’s ears. “You sound like my brother. He’s into all that care of magical creatures stuff. Me? Not so much.”
She hummed, “I’d like to meet your brother sometime…”
“I’ll set up a date for all us to have tea when he comes back from his travels.”
“C-Can’t wait!” She stuttered as she rubbed her upper arms for warmth.
He noticed this and nonchalantly removed his coat. He draped it over her shoulders, “Sorry. It’s my fault you’re cold.”
She held the lapels of his coat, “But now you’ll get cold!”
“It looks better on you than it did me.” He gave her a playful wink.
(Y/N) gasped as she remembered a moment like that. All those years ago at Hogwarts- with Newt. Though she dismissed the thoughts of her first love. Newt wasn’t there with her. Theseus was. Newt hadn’t taken her out on those wonderful dates. Theseus had. Newt didn’t love her. Theseus did- or so she hoped.
Theseus had stopped them in front of a water fountain. The sound of trickling water and the echoes of the city filled the silence. He shoved his hands into his pockets. Were his hands always this sweaty? He took a deep breath and exhaled. It was now or never.
“Theseus, darling, A-Are you alright?” She asked, one of her hands cupping his cheek.
He hummed and leaned into her touch. Despite the cold, her hand was radiating so much warmth. He looked at her lovingly, “Yes, dear. Everything is fine.”
“(Y/N)… During my Hogwarts years, I never gave dating a second thought. And after I graduated, I immediately started working for the Ministry. Then I got sent to war. Merlin- I never want to step foot in a muggle war ever again.” He paused to make sure she was paying attention.
Her hand returned to the warmth of his coat. She nodded, giving him the okay to continue.
“And when I returned home, I was so set on returning to my duties at the Ministry. Then I met you. You wonderful, beautiful, intelligent woman. I couldn’t believe that I caught your attention. I know I’m rambling and your feet must be in pain for standing for so long, so let me ask you this.” He paused for a second. “Will you allow me to date you properly? To make this- us, official?”
(Y/N) smiled. “Theseus… I never thought you’d ask. I’d love to be your girlfriend.”
Full of joy, Theseus wrapped his arms around her and spun around. Their laughs mixed, composing a duet that harmonized with each other perfectly.
When he set her down, she sighed in content. “Oh, Theseus…”
He cupped her face, his thumb caressing her cheek. “Can… Can I kiss you?”
She nodded. “Yes-”
He cut her response short, closing the gap between their lips.
•✦.✧.🔎.✧.✦•
The New Year’s season came to pass and it was the start of the 1920s. Victoria and (Y/N) transferred to the Aurors Department. Effective immediately. They loved the Investigation Department and everyone there. Must've been something serious if their transfer was immediate.
Little did they know, Theseus was the Head of the Auror department.
On the way to the meeting room, (Y/N) was ranting about the sudden change. Victoria was saying her thoughts about the matter but listened to her friend’s distress. They walked past an office and Victoria caught the nameplate on the door that read “Theseus Scamander”
Scamander? Oh-
Before Victoria could ask questions, they had gotten to the meeting room. There were other Aurors in the department. Everyone there knew each other, so Victoria and (Y/N) were the “newbies”.
Victoria turned to (Y/N), “Hey… You know that boyfriend of yours, did you by any chance get his last name?” She whispered.
(Y/N) shrugged, “No. I didn’t think it mattered.”
“Well, let me tell you-”
The Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Torquil Travers, entered the room from the back entrance. “Fellow Aurors! As you all know, Grindelwald is gathering up recruits for his “For the Greater Good” revolution. All of you are here today to form up a special task force in bringing him and his organization down. Leading you in this endeavor is the new Head of Auror Office and retired War Hero, Theseus Scamander.”
A round of applause erupted, welcoming the new Head of Auror Office.
Turning towards Travers, Victoria clapped along. “I’m sure it’s not your Theseus-”
“Oh shit.” (Y/N) cursed as she saw her beloved walk through the doors.
Theseus nodded as he walked towards his new task force.
Travers patted his back, “You’ll need to choose an assistant and a communications liaison, but take your time.”
Theseus scanned the room. He knew all of the people, some he trusted, and some he didn’t. Then he saw a pair he knew all too well- but he only saw them outside of work- (Y/N) and Victoria.
(Y/N) gave a shy smile, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.
Victoria smirked, “You’re screwed.”
As the applause died down, Theseus announced, “I’ve already chosen the people for the positions. For my assistant, I’ll be having Miss (Y/N) (L/N).”
She blushed as she felt everyone’s eyes on her. Though slightly confused, the other Aurors in the room applauded.
Victoria leaned down again, “Try not to make too much noise in his office, eh?”
(Y/N) opened her mouth to gasp, but nothing came out. “I would never!”
“And my Communications Liaison will be Miss Victoria Howard.”
(Y/N) nudged her friend, “You’re stuck with us now.”
Victoria laughed nervously, waving at everyone. “Brilliant…”
~*~*~
The three of them were in Theseus’ office. (Y/N) was pacing back and forth as Theseus was sitting at his desk and Victoria leaning against the bookshelf.
“Why me? Why another Scamander?” She groaned in agony. “How did I not know!” She muttered.
“Love, what’s the problem?” Theseus asked, slightly worried.
“You wouldn’t by any chance have a brother would you?” Victoria asked, looking at him.
“Yeah.” He replied, his attention still towards (Y/N), who was still pacing back and forth.
“About this tall?” She said, extending her arm to its highest point.
“Around there.”
“Loves magical creatures?” She asked, now crossing her arms over her chest.
“More than life itself.”
“Got expelled from Hogwarts in his sixth year?”
“Yes. Wait, how did you-”
“I figured.” She gave a curt nod before looking at her distressed friend. “Honey, you need to calm down.”
(Y/N) stopped in her tracks and faced Victoria. Her eyes were on the verge of tears.
Victoria's expression softened as she shoved aside the blunt responses she had prepared in her mind. “Hey… Come here…” She cooed as she walked over to her with arms wide open.
(Y/N) quickly ran into Victoria’s embrace, letting the tears fall. She mumbled something into her shoulder.
“What was that, dear?” She asked softly.
(Y/N) pulled away, “I said, what am I going to tell Newt? I’ve told him that I recently got a boyfriend. How is he going to react when it’s his brother?”
Victoria rolled her eyes. “What’s it to him? He’s your best friend.” She said, emphasizing the fact that Newt was just her friend. “If it’s his brother or not, who you date is not his business.”
Theseus stood from his seat and walked over to the pair. “If it makes you feel better, we can invite him over for tea and tell him.”
(Y/N) moves from Victoria’s arms and walks over to Theseus. “I… I think I’d like that.”
•✦.✧.🔎.✧.✦•
Despite Theseus and (Y/N)’s relationship, they never let it get in the way of their work. (Y/N) had the same workload and deadlines as the others in the task force.
Victoria was still expected to represent the Ministry’s Auror department, write news releases, and coordinate the distribution of information along with her fieldwork.
Theseus randomly assigned partners in every stakeout or raid- mostly because he’d feel like he’d protect the hell out of (Y/N) if she was paired up with him all the time. (Y/N) was capable, and he knew that.
Though there are sometimes where one of them got hurt and the other can’t help but care for them.
(Y/N) had made Theseus take off his blazer and rolled up the sleeve of his left arm. Blood dripped from the wound caused by one of Grindelwald’s recruits. She sat on a short stool with a bucket of warm water off to the side, just within arms reach.
Theseus slouched in the chair, flinching at the slightest touches (Y/N) made with the towel. She had wiped off all the dried blood surrounding the wound. Then she started dabbing the towel ever so gently on top of it. The towel was damp and warm, but it didn’t make the pain any softer.
He grimaced as he inhaled sharply, jerking his arm away from her.
“I need to clean your wound, love” (Y/N) said, reaching over to where he moved his arm.
“But (Y/N) it hurts!” He whined.
“You’re being childish.” She replied.
“W-Well you’re not the one on the receiving end!”
“Honey, you were a soldier. I’m sure you’ve dealt with more serious wounds than this…”
“That’s because I didn’t have someone as cute as you cleaning me up.”
“Flattery won’t get your wound cleaned up.”
“Can’t you just use a spell?”
“Unlike most wizards, I like to do some things without the use of magic.”
He huffed childishly, not looking at her.
“If you didn’t move, it wouldn’t hurt as much.”
Theseus grumbled, still moving his arm away.
“Theseus Scamander, hold still or so help me I will hex you!”
“I thought we didn’t allow magic in the bedroom~” He teased.
“Theseus! We’re at work!”
•✦.✧.🔎.✧.✦•
After months of asking and asking, Theseus had finally convinced Newt to come and visit him- to finally meet his girlfriend. (Y/N) had already decided on the tea so they were waiting for Newt to arrive.
As they waited, Theseus was looking over some reports as (Y/N) was leaning on his bookshelf, doing some light reading.
He sighed, setting the papers in his hand back down on his desk. Glancing over to (Y/N), he smiled, ‘She’s beautiful even when she’s reading…’
Theseus looked at her ensemble. A white long-sleeved button-up, a grey vest with a matching blazer, and dress pants. He looked at his suit- the same color scheme. Were they always matching?
He looked at her again and noticed that this time, she wore a tie with her suit, but not just any tie. A yellow and black tie- His Hufflepuff tie. Theseus smiled, “Hey (L/N), nice tie.”
(Y/N) nodded, turning the page of her book. “Yeah? I put it on this morning.” She said nonchalantly.
Theseus stood and made his way over. When he stood in front of her, he took the book from her hands and set it to the side. “Where’d you get it?”
She looked up at him. Was he always this tall? “Hogwarts. From when I went there. Duh.”
“Really? Because I remember you telling me that you were a Ravenclaw,” He said untucking the tie from under her vest. “This is clearly a Hufflepuff tie.” He held up the end of the tie in her line of view.
(Y/N) gasped. “I swear, it was an honest mistake!”
“Hmm…” He trailed off. “I kind of like seeing you in my ties. It’s cute.” He said, leaning in close.
“Thes… We’re at work… A-And your brother could walk in any minute-”
His fingers slid up the material, finally wrapping around the knot. “Yeah… But I haven’t kissed you since we left my flat…” He whispered, tugging softly as if to bring her closer.
She could feel herself leaning in close. Her lip mere millimeters away-
“Here we are! Head of Aurors Office!” Victoria said, opening the door to Theseus’ office. She and Newt walked in.
(Y/N) quickly pushed Theseus away, shoving the tie back under her vest.
“Newt!” (Y/N) exclaimed, shoving herself off the bookshelf.
“Brother!” Theseus said happily as he walked over to Newt.
There, Newt stood in a nice suit, a mustard yellow vest, and a blue overcoat. In his hand was a suitcase. The enchanted suitcase that (Y/N) had read so much about in his letters.
“Wait, when you told me in your letter that you had a boyfriend, you never told me it was my brother,” Newt said, slightly hurt.
“We meant to tell you!” Theseus said defensively.
“When? When I catch you almost snogging each other?” Newt retorted, glaring at his brother
“No! It would be over tea! Which we would be having right now…” She pouted.
“I think… I think I’d like a rain check on that…” He said as he started to back away.
“Newt! Don’t do this!” Victoria pleaded.
He finally turned around and walked to the door. When he got there, he stopped in Victoria’s line of view. Newt didn’t face her. He looked straight ahead, grip tightening on the handle of his case. “You knew and didn’t tell me?” Newt asked bitterly.
Victoria placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. She opened her mouth to say something and for once, she didn’t have a blunt response or snarky remark. “It wasn’t my position to say…”
Newt scoffed. “It would’ve been nice to know beforehand,” He said before shoving her hand off and walking away from Theseus’ office. Away from his brother. Away from his friend. Away from her. Newt hadn’t seen then in so long and now that he had the chance… He just left…?
(Y/N) quickly ran after him, “Newt, wait!”
Victoria leaned against the door frame, banging the back of her head against the wood. “It’s always a Scamander…”
Theseus looked at Victoria. “Did… Did they have something?”
Victoria sighed, stopping from her current action to look at Theseus. “It’s not my position to say…”
~*~*~
In the hallway, (Y/N) finally caught up to Newt. She held onto the material of his sleeve.
“Back there,” She panted. “What was that about?”
“You… You’re dating my brother?” He asked. Stupid question, but he needed to hear it again to make sure he wasn’t imagining it.
“Yeah, what’s it to you?” (Y/N) said, but her tone made it sound rude.
“Didn’t think he’d be your type…” Newt mumbled.
“And you know what my type is?” She replied, slightly offended.
“I…” Newt paused. ‘I was hoping that it’d be me.’ He thought.
(Y/N) sighed, finally letting go of his sleeve. “Look, you’re my best friend and I’m sorry I didn’t tell you. I’ll admit that it was my fault, but I don’t want to lose you just because I’m dating your brother. I-”
“What?” Newt interrupted. “One Scamander isn’t enough? You need both of us in your life, do you? Why do you need me? You already have Theseus wrapped around your fingers.” He snapped.
“What is up with you, Newton?” She groaned in frustration. “You know what? Now is not the time. I’ll give you all the time and space you need. When you’re ready to talk about this, I’m only an owl away.” She turned to leave, but not before saying something that made Newt realize how he felt about his best friend.
“Just know that before Theseus,” She paused. “It was always you.”

Personality
A sweet and quiet girl, Jora Holiday did not consider herself to be special. She lacked friends in school and kept to herself out of fear of getting bullied. This was because she had to deal with her mutant powers since they came into fruition as a very small child. Jora normally tries to avoid or deflate conflict, though deep down she does get a little fed up with playing peacemaker if the squabbling persists. Jora is compassionate and humble, never boastful but also bashful when it comes to compliments and praise. Of the four kids she is regarded as the nicest.
Because of her powers Jora has clean freak tendencies in her desire to look as normal as possible. She tried to avoid gross situations, although later down the line she learns it's okay to dirty her gloves - literally.
But with sweetness comes sourness, as she does have a passive-aggressive side towards slights, whether real or perceived. She didn't get along with Tasha, feeling as though the latter didn't care for her (which isn't true). Jora tends to be oversensitive and takes things too personally, ans even can be prone to tears if provoked hard enough. She also bears lingering resentment and shame over the partial ailments her element brings; these feelings fade away over time as she grows to accept her powers and adapt to her condition. One of her biggest flaws is her timidness and inability to stand up for herself and others. She also didn't get along with Ben for a while, though they get better quickly.
Jora has a love of nature, as shown with her hobby of collecting flowers and mushrooms. She despises animal abuse of any kind, and strives to be a bit more conscious of the environment. She also seems to have no phobia towards bugs, and thus is the designated "spider catcher" on the Rust Bucket.
Jora has a passion for fashion and a girly sense of style, preferring to dress in bright or pastel colors. Her love of nature and love of fashion could lead to a career based on environmentally friendly beauty products.
Ben 10000: Lavender shortsleeved dress and white apron
Adult Appearance
When she grows up Jora is considerably more capable of handling herself. She gets upset when people see and treat her as a fragile thing, seeing as though they don't trust her. She also is very in tune with nature, spending her days off on long walks in the forests, or at her homemade lab making potions.
In this timeline she was a waitress who worked after shifts as a vigilante. At the time the Hero of Heroes didn't know who this mysterious woman was, although he was struck by familiar feelings.
Ken 10: Mint Green blouse and pink maxiskirt with pink wristwatch (which is actually her transformation device)
Costume: White bodysuit with light purple accents, helmet and visor.

Background
Born the second child to floral shop owners Jeremy and Mavis Holiday, Jora had a normal childhood in the comfy small town of Annville, SC. A quiet child, she spent after-school helping around the shop. They were small yet popular with the townsfolk, reputed for their knowledge of plants and colorful arrangements. However that normalcy took a detour when Jora's powers camemto fruition.
When people started to notice more and more plants dying, that in turn led to decrease in customers and soon the shop began to undergo financial trouble. One day, a beautiful woman named Kudzu came into the store offering to buy the place from Jeremy. See, Kudzu was one of the wealthiest and powerful people in town. He refused. The next day Kudzu came again with another proposition. Again Jeremy refused. This occurred all through the week, until finally a very irritated Mavis demanded Kudzu to leave their family alone. That time, Kudzu left and didn't ame back after that. The couple was relieved. Jora was nervous.
One day, just as Tasha and Jora were at the last day of school anf thr parents were off to cash in their winning lottery ticket, the floral shop caught fire! The firefighters were called and put out the blaze, but it left their shop and home in charred ruins.
Jora felt very guilty: if she never had her powers, there wouldn't have been such an awful domino effect. The fire was ruled as a freak accident, however Jeremy and Mavis believed that other forces were at work. They couldn't prove their theories as their suspect had too much power and leverage to be fought one on one. So they came up with a plan: they would spend the summer working to add money to the saved money while their kids go out of town. Mavis called upon an old friend from trade school to take the girls on vacation (somewhere safe from Kudzu).
The next couple of days after staying at a shelter, the girls were able to buy a few new outfits and essentials and told to wait for a brown and white RV. When the RV arrived, out came a older gentlemen in a bright scarlet Hawaiian shirt, with two children trailing behind him. He introduced himself as Max Tennyson, and the two kids were his grandchildren Ben and Gwen.
Trivia
Jora has a nature motif to contrast Ben's aliens and Gwen's magic.
Overall Jora is the most normal member of the team; her family has no connection to the Plumbers or magic.
Jora doesn't have signature color, the closest would be pink and yellow since those are colors she tends to wear the most of.
I made Jora so that there'd be another main girl in the cast and because the show didn't have a black female character (despite having nonwhite female characters of other ethnicities, and black male characters)
She does not have a major role in UAF; instead her storyline is seen as a spinoff (think Static Shock to the Justice League) focusing on smaller-scale plots with occasional cameos from main cast
Jora does come back in Omniverse to replace Gwen as the female lead; she is joined by Dr. Azura (Secret Saturdays OC), Myra Hopewell (GenRex), Ginger T. Glass, and her cousin Patti.
It is unknown whether her power is genetics or a random mutation.
In the Ben 10000 timeline she and Ben broke up because Ben tried to forbid her from going on active missions as a way to keep her safe. Obviously she didn't like that and left. They do reconcile at the end of the episode.
Out of my OCs for this fandom Jora is the lead character, followed by Kendrix
Jora's powers can vary based on the type of fungi she's using at the time. So her colors could range from inky-black to a gorgeous green
She is a candidate to take on the mantle of Mother Nature (currently held by Mama G)
Her hobbies are: reading comics and books primarily fantasy genre, costume design, hiking, floral pressing, DIY crafts, and insects
Due to her timid nature she has a fear of public speaking.
I don't have a claim for her in the live action films sorry!!
Jora is a foil for Kevin in that she was born with destructive powers. Unlike Kevin, she learned to rely on friends to help her stabilize her powers.
- A recurring subplot is the girls encountering and escaping from Kudzu's hired goons sent to track them down.
Jora was going to have standard plants and flowers as her power but I wanted to go for nontraditional elements instead.
The irony is that she's a softie dressed in bright colors and respects life, yet has a power related to death.
- At the end of the show she reunites with her parents and they're able to rebuild their business. She also stands up to Kudzu and exposes the woman for the rotten POS she is
