Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi everyone! I've been doing this challenge called 30 days of intentionality (30doi) and I thought I'd explain how I'm doing it in case anyone wants to join in! I have no prompts for this one bc it is by nature quite personal.
THE CHALLENGE
Similar to the 30 days of productivity challenge, this one is really open to interpretation. Anyone can do it and mold it however they like, I'm just here to give a little bit of guidance to those who need it.
For me, intentions include 'keeping in good health', 'studying for my dream job', 'working towards my career', 'maintaining and building good friendships'.
If you're unsure about how to format your posts, this is what i include:
- date - intentions (if you make these vague, it's a good idea to elaborate on how you plan to achieve your intentions) - a recommendation (current reads, songs, movies, videos, etc) - reflection - tags with #30doi here's an example of one of my 30doi posts for reference
other notes:
I usually update my post throughout the day, crossing out the stuff I've done and adding in a reflection before bed if i can.
You can do this challenge manually, I sometimes write my intentions down on paper for a few days and then transcribe (you don't have to transcribe)
This challenge should be for you, don't worry about posting consistently, or making your posts pretty. the important thing is that you are being intentional with your day.
Even if you don't physically post or write your intentions, try to think to yourself what they might be each day, and try your best to meet those.
Off-days are okay, in fact, they are what make this challenge a real challenge. if you're just running on the momentum of having had a perfect streak, there's no difficulty in this
Tag your posts under the tag #30doi so that others can see your posts and interact (including me)
if you want a reblog, i track the tag #heydilli which can be used for non-challenge posts too
That's all I can think of for now, but like I said, the 30doi is open to interpretation and i am by no means taking credit for 'creating' the challenge. like i mentioned for the 30dop, i don't really believe these challenges can be created. Below the cut is a rant about intentionality and my reasons for doing this challenge if you want to have a read.
Hope to see your posts and progress, xx dilli 🤍

What is intentionality?
We all know what intentions are—your purpose and meaning behind doing something. Intentionality is bigger, it is "the structure which gives meaning to experience." Intentionality is your capacity to have intentions. Having intentions governs how you perceive every experience you have. Take this example: if your intention for tonight is to wind down and relax, settling down in front of the TV will be viewed as a way to rest, reset, recover. If however, your intention for tonight is finish up uni work, watching TV will be viewed as a way that you procrastinate and avoid doing your work. Your perception of anything, then, is informed by your intentions. Without intentions, anything that you do can seem pointless. I often have a never-ending list of assignments, but if I don't actively intend to do work, watching Youtube all night doesn't seem like a bad thing—after all, it's not like I intended to do anything else with my time.
Why am I doing this challenge?
Lately I find myself moving through my daily routine rather mindlessly. I do a bit of schoolwork here, a bit of mindless scrolling there, but I don't really know why I'm doing these things. I have goals that I'm working towards, but they seem distant and unaffected by my day-to-day choices. In reality, though, the choices that I make every day are what determine whether I reach my goals, where I will be and what kind of person I am in five or ten or however many years. By setting intentions, I will make it clear what I should be doing and why it is important that I do it. The idea is that by merely logging my intentions and results over these 30days, I will subconsciously be predisposed to fulfil those intentions

Do you have a safe place? If not, can you make one?
Here are some ideas for making a place (in this case, a bedroom, feel like a safe place.)
Decorate or re-arrange your room how you want. If you can’t afford to buy things to decorate, try and make some! Do some crafts, print off some images (even make some collages), or things like that so you can hang them in your room and make it feel like your space. I used to love printing off, or cutting out magazine images of my favourite things (animals, shows, etc) and putting them into collages to hang in my room.
I really recommend making a self care box with comfort items. Here’s a link about self-care boxes. Having things in there that help you feel calm and safe that you can access whenever you need and/or want could be good. If it helps you, things like stim toys to fidget with or even a stress ball to squeeze might be helpful to put in there.
This is an individual thing, but personally, I find having a stuffed animal in bed is comforting. I have a decent sized one that I hold when I sleep. I used to hold a pillow when I slept, because it was comfortable, but my partner bought me a stuffy that actually has arm holes to hold and I find it very comforting. (I think stuffed animals are okay for all ages, and if part of why you haven’t considered it is because of age, I urge you to give it another thought. If it helps to know, I turn 30 in November and I really find this comforting.)
If you don’t already, try picking out some sheets/bed set that you really like. I personally go for colourful, cheerful things because they’re comforting. But if you have a favourite colour, favourite animal, favourite anything honestly, try and get a sheet set with one of those on it. This can also be a good idea for curtains! If you can’t afford curtains, you can even hang blankets up instead.
Make going to bed an enjoyable thing. (This sounds weird, but I recommend trying it.) Have a routine you follow before going to bed at night that involves saving a favourite activity exclusively for before bed (like reading, or playing a game, watching a favourite show). This means you try not to do the activity at another time because it may make going to bed something to look forward to. (There’s no guarantee this will work, but I think it’s worth a shot!)

100 Days of Holistic Self Care Challenge
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Challenge and self care, both these things sound a bit counterproductive together but I think this combination can bring immense growth to my life. I don't think I'd get certain things done unless I challenge myself to. I'm nudging myself to be more mindful and present and calmer. It's about my whole life, my body, my fears, my bravery, everything. I got inspired by @thelastneuron, @mindfulstudyquest and a few others I'm forgetting at the moment.
I'm going through a very stressful time right now and my mental health is in pieces. So here we go.
So here is a list of things that I am going to do in this challenge, it's gonna be
an everyday thing,
one time thing,
a thought I need to revisit, or
something else that I need.
You are veryyyy welcome to join anytime you want. It's alright if you don't wanna join too. This challenge is about comfort but also doing the best for oneself.
I'll be updating the list and adding and taking out certain things. You guys can recommend me things too.
Everyday things:
Waking up before 8 am.
Taking a bath within an hour of waking up.
Eating food/breakfast only after taking a bath.
Prayers/mantra before at every action.
1 hour without stimulation from any gadgets.
Go for a 30 minutes walk everyday.
Skincare before going to sleep.
No stimulation/media 30 minutes before going to sleep.
If I start a task, I'm going to finish it no matter what.
Read 20 pages of a book.
Meditate (guided or otherwise) for 10 minutes.
Do not touch the phone/social media apps/Netflix while studying.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One time things:
Social Media DETOX for a week. (no instagram, no tumblr, no whatsapp, no youtube, no spotify)
No stimulation for a whole day. (no spotify, no social media, no tv)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thoughts to revisit (journal-ish):
How am I feeling? Am I feeling tired? Why am I feeling tired? Are you okay, Tanishka? Are you fine? What made you sad? What made you tick? How do you feel about feeling this way?
Were you brave today? Did you do something that was out of your comfort zone? Did you conquer your fears? How did you feel when you did conquer your fears?
Are you feeling worthy today? Are you feeling like you deserve your dreams? Why do you feel that you don't? Why do you feel that you do? Prove to yourself that you do.
Did you make any mistakes towards yourself or towards others today? If you did its okay, it's fine. Think about it but this thought, or this action doesn't define you. You are maleable, you are the one who can fold themselves into whoever you wanna be.
Did you take care of yourself, Tanishka?
I'll be starting this today. Good luck to anyone else who wants to join. You can start your own challenge or join in on mine. Have a beautiful day.

Oh, how I wish I could be that person who is consistent with their skincare routine. Skincare brings me so much joy, it makes me feel beautiful, it's peaceful.
But at the same time, I'm chronically ill. I have so many health conditions that I battle every single day, and sometimes I simply don't have the spoons needed to stand there, in chronic pain, fatigued and falling over, to apply skincare to my face.
I do the best I can because it truly is something that I enjoy with all my heart. But I try my best not to feel too guilty when I only do it once a day or have to skip a day or two. Because these days with how much I'm battling, I simply need rest. I'm not doing very well, and the last thing I should feel guilty about is if I chemically exfoliated that night or not.
Tonight, I was actually able to get into the bathroom and do my full skincare routine. Though the pain I feel afterward is great. So many spoons just fell out the door. As someone on a night schedule for my job, I just cost so many spoons. Luckily, no work tonight. So I'll try to get plenty of rest. I'm not only chronically ill, but I have a really bad cold. As an immune compromised person, it's truly beating me up.
Remember that doing the best you can, even when your best looks different from day to day, is all you can ask. You're a warrior.

Self-Care Challenge: Self-Soothe or Comfort box
Start by Gathering up some of your favorite things for comfort, make sure you have at least one item that involves each of your 5 main senses (sight, sound, touch, taste and smell). See examples below.
Find a container these items will fit in with at least some room to spare to add to it over time. Reusing/recycling and upcycling containers recommended, and it can be any type of container. Take the time to decorate your container in some way that sparks joy or find one that already does.
Place items inside and put in a place you can easily see and access when you need comfort/soothing. if you have large items that won’t fit you can put in a placeholder-like a note saying what the item is and where it’s kept.
The idea is to mostly have it all together for when you really need it.
Sight -artwork -coloring pages and coloring utensils -photos -a book
Sound -cd or playlist -comforting movie or tv show
touch -soft blanket -stuffed animal -bath bomb or Epsom salts
taste -chocolates or other treat -favorite drink
smell -scented candles -essential oils

Self-Care Challenge!
Today, I challenge you to do something productive that eases your stress.
Some options include:
A) Write a to-do list of what you want to do. You don't actually have to do it. This can be helpful if you aren't up to doing the tasks but it can help you organize your thoughts. (I personally find a list makes me feel more organized and makes it seem more doable. If there's a chance this might stress you out more, please don't do this.)
B) Take five minutes and tidy up a space you're in. Set a timer and go for 5 minutes. If you feel motivated to keep going beyond the timer or set a new one, by all means keep going. (Alternatively, you could de-clutter a "digital" area like your phone pictures, apps, people you're following etc.)
C) Complete a hygiene task if you need to like brushing your teeth, washing your face, or having a shower. I wrote a blog post here with tips for when hygiene is hard! If the big tasks don't seem possible, do what you can, whether it's splashing water on your face or even changing into fresh clothes.
D) Other. This could be anything specific to you. Maybe you have emails you need to respond to. Maybe you have an appointment you need to make. Pick something that completing will ease your stress and push through it. (FYI - this could include rest. Rest can be productive!)
Self-care is sometimes pushing ourselves to do things we don't want to do because the end result is that we feel a bit better, maybe even lighter somehow. It might seem impossible, but you can do this! And for what it's worth, I'm going to complete this challenge, and I'll post later today about what I did.
Feel free to share if you completed this challenge! You can share what you did or not. It's up to you. Feel free to post in the replies if you want some encouragement to do what you need to do. (Also feel free to offer encouragement!)

I almost didn't post today but here I am anyway. Today I took the whole day off, I am not physically at my best I feel very weak so I basically stayed in bed the whole day. I probably needed to reast especially with the busy week ahead of me. I just read, listened to audiobooks and crocheted, and avoided digital screens. That's it, that was my day, and honestly? I cannot wait for my graduation to be over so that I can do it more often. This morning I finished reading The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood which I loved, and in the afternoon I finished the audiobook of Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. This last one surely isn't my favourite book by him but it was really entrataining and by the end of I grew attached to the characters. I'll post proper reviews soon.
Productive things I did today:
Practiced Irish on duolingo
Self care things I did today:
Took the day off
Read first thing in the morning (and for most of my day)
Continued working on the crochet scarf I am making for my mom (which is almost done!)

JAK ODNALEŹĆ WEWNĘTRZNY SPOKÓJ I SZCZĘŚCIE?
🌸💚
