This week is M.E / CFS awareness week! (8th to 14th May)

I hope to post some awareness poster things from the M.E Association IG page, as this is an important cause for me.

It’s important to me that people know that M.E / CFS is a very real illness and can be incredibly debilitating for people. Everyone is different and so no two people will suffer the same way with this awful illness, however we do all have it for life as it is a chronic illness.

There is currently no cure, no diagnosis test, and very little in the way of treatments. More funding and research is needed to overcome these obstacles and I hope by raising awareness more people will also understand what this chronic illness means for people who have it and that there’s not much of anything they can do about it.

Something I really need to remember when I start this small business is that I can’t compare myself to other small businesses. None of us should be doing that anyway, but I feel like it’s doubly important for me to remember that because I have chronic illnesses that make it harder to get things done and to get things made, so my males will take more time, therefore I’ll have less stuff to sell, therefore I’ll make less sales.

It’s just the way it’ll be, and I can’t beat myself up over that. My body is already beating itself up daily. I don’t need to add to that.

I've been learning Hawaiian on the language learning app DUOLINGO since Jan 2nd '22 (which was not long after I couldn’t work OR drive anymore due to my multiple chronic illnesses, some since birth/growing up or whatever lol and others bc im a disabled veteran… I ended up with with a severe 2nd type of Epilepsy and other illnesses/worsening of others)…. AND I’ve 🤙JUST MADE IT TO 500 DAYS STRAIGHT!!!🤙

Im RARELY EVER proud of myself but this as silly as it is I am lol! Since I rarely leave the house for anything other than Dr appts or ER visits lol it REALLY REALLY HELPS (ANYTHING Hawaiian really… never been but #1 on bucket list, #2 is to see Bring Me The Horizon/Oli Sykes in Concert bc I can’t ever see my other favorite band, Linkin Park/Chester Bennington :(…. AND I’m OBSESSED with Grogu and Omega lol… favorite characters of all time! Cross is favorite sibling for Omega lol!)

I suffer from migraines. I have a very rare sub type of migraines called Hemiplegic Migraines. Of course knowing me and all my issues, I'd get the rare issues 🙃😅.

This past week I've had a migraine. I had to call out three days from work and I felt extremely guilty because of it. But I didn't have a choice. The type of migraines I have cause the left side of my body to go entirely numb. Depending on severity it will be on a scale from numb all the way to paralyzing to coma. It's temporary. It fades as the migraine does. But that doesn't make it any easier to deal with or any less scary.

My migraines mimic a stroke. It affects my speech, I become unable to walk or use my left side of my body entirely.

Sunday I wound up back in the hospital because I became paralyzed again on the left side of my body. Both of my parents in the pouring rain had to struggle to get me into the car because I struggled to use my leg to walk.

The nurse in the ER was very rude to me and didn't understand why I was struggling to speak. It irritated her that she couldn't understand me. It was humiliating to say the least.

Luckily the doctor was amazing, he went through my entire chart. Double checked my blood work for stroke markers just to be sure and helped treat me to get me to the point I could stand again and no longer sound drunk.

But for some reason it hasn't gone away. The emergency medicine from my neurologist hasn't been working. My migraine won't go away. Currently my left side is numb. I feel queasy, I can barely see out of my left eye.

If this continues to get worse I'll be back in the hospital and I don't want to do this again. 😫 I'm beyond frustrated.

Luckily I have three days until I go back to work. Fingers crossed 🤞 it F's off by then! Because as of right now I can't even feel my face.
