“Ya know, I heard a rumor about you.” She startles at the familiar texan drawl, lifting her eyes from the bar top. “And what was that?” Sonny grins down at her, taking her looking at him as permission to sit with her. “Well, that would be telling, wouldn’t it?” She makes a humming noise, eyes already back on the bar top. He frowns at how despondent she was and he can’t help but lightly nudge her. Wondering what's going on in her pretty little head.
“You alright?” She nods. “I’m okay, Sonny.” He snorts, “and why do I not believe you?” “I’m not in the mood. Just a bad day, that’s all. Go drink with one of the guys. I think Valerie will show up sometime tonight.” The name Valerie makes something itch in the back of his brain, but he ignores it. “I’m fine right here.”
He expects quiet acceptance, a huff of exasperation, another urging for him to go away. He doesn’t expect the way her lips thin as they press together, the jerky way she stands and grabs her purse, managing to leave the bar before he can get up.
He quickly follows after her, concern festering inside of him. This wasn’t like her, none of this was like. The staring despondently at the bar, not telling him in the first place she was going to the bulkhead, the reminder of apparently a girl coming around for him. None of those things fit with the woman he’d known for nearly five years.
Sonny manages to catch up to her quickly, not realizing exactly what he’s doing or how it looks as he stands behind her as she fumbles with her car keys and he puts a hand on the driver’s door, preventing her from opening it even if her hands manage to stop shaking.
“What’s going on?” Her hand shakes a bit more and his jaw twitches. With his other hand, he wraps it around her arm, turning her to face him and his heart drops to his feet at the tears in her eyes. “What’s going on?” He repeats, voice more gentle. She shakes her head, “nothing. I’m fine.” “You’re crying.” “It’s nothing, Sonny. I just need to go home.” “C’mon, what’s going on?” “Sonny,” and the concern that had been sitting heavy in his gut turns to dread. Nothing good came out of anyone saying his name like that and he releases her arm, stumbling back from her.
“What did I do?” He doesn’t even recognize his own voice, only knows it belongs to him, because the words feel like broken glass in his throat and spilling onto his tongue.
He doesn’t notice the way her posture changes, the heartbreak that flashes across her face, as he tries to figure what he did, how he fucked up. It was a matter of time, he’d always known that, but nothing was coming to mind.
A soft hand gently resting on his arm for a second draws him out of his mind and then there’s two hands cupping his face and he wants to pull away. Those soft, gentle hands of hers shouldn’t be on him. Shouldn’t be anywhere near him, not when he’s fucked up.
“You listen to me, Sonny Quinn and you listen good. You haven’t done a damn thing.” Her voice is so firm, that he can’t think to protest, not when he’s looking into those pretty eyes of hers, nearly losing himself in them. “I just,” she pauses, taking a breath, eyes closing before they open and he can see her steeling herself. “I like you. And I’m not dealing with it all that well, right now. So I just need some space and time and then I’ll be back, right by your side.”
She starts to take a step back, hands moving down to rest on his shoulders, when she’s stopped, his hands landing on her hips and gripping them with a vice-like grip.
“And if I don’t want you to take some space?” She can feel her heart beating faster than she thinks it ever has. “I want a relationship, Sonny. I don’t want to just fall into bed. Could you give me that?” “Yes.” The instant and serious reply sends her reeling. “I wouldn’t know what the fuck I’m doing, but yes. I’ll take you on a date everyday for the rest of our goddamn lives if you want.” She can’t help but laugh at the utter seriousness in his voice. “How about once a week when you’re home we have a day or just a night where it’s just us. A lot more doable than a date everyday.” He smiles at her. “If that’s what the lady wants.” “It absolutely is.” And before he can say anything else, she’s pressing their lips together.

「 ✦ Fatui Harbingers x Signora's Sister! Reader, PART 1 ✦ 」
---
[Part 1] Part 2 Part 2.5. Part 3
Pairings: only hinted/platonic (will change to something "more" later on if I decide to make more parts)
Warnings: spoilers regarding Signora's lore and a certain event in the Inazuma Archon quest, possibly some spoiler-ish stuff about other things too
Word count: 2.7k
This fanfic will include direct quotations from "Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser: A Winter Night's Lazzo" that belongs fully to miHoYo. I'll write these quotes in bold, so copyrights won't haunt me like Khaenri'ah lore :)
---
Even among the Harbingers, not much was known about the Fair Lady's (may she rest in peace) younger sister, except for the fact that you existed and had somehow managed to live for over 500 years, just like her. They were all aware of Signora's special circumstances that had made her essentially immortal, but Celestia knows how you had done it?
This is why you'd become something of a urban legend among the lower ranking members of the Fatui. Maybe La Signora had just been delusional, some of them thought - maybe there wasn't a sister, at least not anymore.
You were fine with that, though. You'd never wanted anything to do with your sister or her morally dubious organization anyway.
But she was still the only blood relative you'd had left, and now she was gone.
Attending her funeral was only appropriate.
You arrived at the grand doors of the cathedral, stopping for a moment to adjust the expensive-looking cloak that someone had sent you along with the invitation to the ceremony, requesting you to wear it. Much to your displeasure, it had the Fatui Insignia on it, though you were slightly more bothered by the fact that they'd somehow figured out where you live...
Or maybe they'd known all along.
But even if the invitation wasn't just out of courtesy, you had only showed up because Rosalyne was family, and only to pay your respects.
Their agendas meant nothing to you.
Pushing the doors open, you marched inside, the click-clack of your high heeled boots echoing in the eerie silence.
Curious gazes followed as this visitor, shrouded in mystery, made her way through the aisle - some of them curious, others a bit doubtful - but you ignored them.
Sitting down in the front row, you crossed your legs, leaning back with your eyes glued to the coffin highlighted by faint moonlight. A girl with child-like, seraphic features was leaning her head on its surface, singing a calming tune...
Spooky.
"Well, I never... this must be the Fair Lady's rumored sibling? And here I was starting to think you wouldn't make an appearance, dear."
You sighed, really having hoped that no one would bother talking to you; you had nothing to say to any of them. But for Celestia's sake, you still had some manners...
Glancing over your shoulder at the man who had just addressed you, you gave him a slight nod.
"It does seem my arrival was rather tardy. My apologies."
The man who you recognized as the Regrator, also known as Pantalone, chuckled a bit.
"No matter, it is rare a pleasure to finally meet you~"
"Likewise."
For a moment, your eyes wandered over each of the present Harbingers, these... co-workers of your sister's, before returning to stare in front of you just as indifferently as before.
You spoke a few more words, though.
"Everyone else as well, I suppose. Oh, and please pay no attention to my discourtesy... A lovely night for a funeral, is it not?"
Your charade was poorly put together, and intentionally so; you didn't know these people anymore than they knew you, but it was already clear that no one was here to pay their heartfelt respects for Rosalyne's memory, much less to exchange pleasantries.
A funeral? No, this was nothing but theatre - and here comes the first actor...
"We have gathered here today to remember our dear comrade. In honor of her sacrifice, all work should halt for half a day as the nation mourns her passing."
Hearing these words come from Pulcinella, the Mayor of Snezhnaya himself, you mentally scoffed. So now these crazy diplomats justified mistakes as sacrifice?
Pantalone seemed amused by this declaration, though you noticed a shadow pass over his face.
"Hehe, merely half a day... People say that Northland Bank's true currencies are blood and tears... But Mayor, even speaking as a banker, that sounds a little unconscionable."
Well, it was as you'd expected? Even in this situation, the Harbingers only cared about their own agendas, and Rosalyne would've been the same way.
The next words belonged to someone you found a bit more familiar.
"You speak of her as if you knew what she had to go through," the silver-haired woman started, a derogatory look in her dark eyes.
You glanced curiously at her. This was surely Arlecchino? Out of the Harbingers, your sister had seemed to trust her the most, so you assumed they must've shared some sort of a closer relationship.
The Knave noticed you gaze, and gave you a small nod before continuing.
"Rosalyne died in a foreign land. But you heartless businessmen and dignitaries, always with a convenient excuse to remain in the comfort of your homeland... You couldn't hope to understand. So why don't you keep your mouths shut!"
"Ah, bravo...~" you commented with a small chuckle, your sudden boldness slightly surprising some of them.
It seemed that La Signora's hardly known sister was indeed an interesting individual?
The ginger sitting on the other side of the aisle apparently found your remark entertaining, since he gave you an amused smile. But he threw his comrade's a much sterner look.
"Hey, c'mon now, even I don't think this is the right time or place for a fight."
Tartaglia, the infamous maniac always looking for a fight? Present~
"Utterly risible," a blonde woman scoffed from her place, sitting on the arms of a weird looking robot. Sandrone, you presumed.
And naturally, the oh-so righteous Capitano also had his opinion to share.
"Though her methods tarnished her honor, Lohefalter's sacrifice is still a great pity."
You sighed, shaking your head. There they go again, degrading her death as a mere sacrifice.
"Her loss shall not hinder our progress," the Captain continued, disregarding the matter. "But Dottore, what of Scaramouche --,"
...to which the crazy Doctor answered something incomprehensible.
Right. They weren't even talking about Rosalyne anymore. By now, the whole ceremony had turned out as a complete farce, and you wished nothing more than for Celestia to nuke it with another one of their divine nails.
Someone else had had enough as well.
"It's time to end tonight's foolish theatrics. This time, you have no captive audience."
The Jester's voice echoed menacingly in the cathedral, silencing his fellow Harbingers.
You gazed at him from your seat, raising an eyebrow when he gave you a look as well. In that short moment, unspoken words were shared between the two of you - after all, he knew things about you that the others didn't.
In any case, the speech went on for a while after that. Pierro's exaggerated sympathies, the Damselette needling Dottore about his segments, and... well, you weren't really listening anymore?
Once they finished and scattered from around the coffin, you silently walked over, placing a few frostbitten Cecilias on top of it. They were flowers from your homeland, though to you, Mondstadt was a memory at least five centuries old.
"Pretty flowers," a soft voice came from beside you. Columbina was back to presumptuously leaning on the casket.
You gave her a sidelong glance.
"Well, they're frozen to death by now - but that somehow fits the moment, no?"
"Mh-hmm~"
The ceremony was seemingly over, though you could still sense their presence. Your back was facing them, but it felt like they'd moved closer to the coffin again - or, perhaps, closer to you...
"I don't believe anyone has yet offered their condolences to this poor child," Capitano remarked solemnly, disregarding the fact you were chronologically speaking a living fossil.
Tartaglia sighed, "She doesn't want us to, I think."
You turned around to face them, crossing your arms.
"Well, firstly, you're calling me a child about 500 years too late. And no, I don't need your pity. It's hard to see your last family gone, but we weren't that close to begin with. Besides, Rosalyne knew full well what she was doing - when agreeing to a duel before the Shogun, and when joining the Fatui in the first place. You reap what you sow, and that's that."
The Doctor chuckled. "La Signora would surely turn over in her grave if she heard that."
"Let the dead rest, Zandik," Sandrone scoffed.
Columbina had scooted next to you.
"Poor thing~", she sang in that eerie voice, tilting her head. "How long have you been living by yourself? Maybe you could have Signora's former chambers in the headquarters."
Hmm? What a laughable suggestion, you thought. She was obviously toying with you.
Arlecchino gave the Damselette a warning look.
"Such a thing is something only the Director can decide. Though," she gave you an unreadable look. "I wouldn't be against it. In Rosalyne's honor, of course."
The usually ruthless Knave's comment was found somewhat unexpected among her comrades.
You gave her a weird look.
Something was clearly going on, the atmosphere was strangely expecting and you didn't like it in the slightest. It seems the theatrics weren't over after all?
Pantalone was gazing at you, an amused smile on his lips.
"You look a bit lost there, dear. Don't worry, Pierro will explain some things to you in a moment~"
You frowned. So, there was more in the game here - that letter wasn't just an invitation to the funeral of a sister you hardly even cared about, you'd doubted as much from the beginning.
Not that it really changed anything. As already mentioned, you'd only come for the ceremony...
And now that it was over, there was no reason for you to stay.
"That won't be necessary," you stated, nodding curtly. "I will be taking my leave now. Goodbye."
Your cloak shuffled as you walked past them, heading toward the exit. However, Childe, who had been standing the closest to the doors, now moved to block your way.
You looked up at him, raising an eyebrow.
"Tartaglia, right? If you could move aside, that would be much appreciated."
"Sorry, no can do, girlie," he laughed a bit, scratching his neck in an awkward manner. "Boss wants to have a chat with you, so I can't just have you leaving like that, now can I?"
"Right," you sighed. "Well, I don't really care..."
You rudely moved past him, reaching the doors and about to push them open, when you suddenly felt a hand on your wrist. And the grip they had wasn't exactly gentle.
Glancing over your shoulder, you saw Childe still wearing that stupid smile of his but there was now a shadow over his usually cheerful expression.
"Look, you seem like a smart girl." His voice was soft and menacing at the same time. "Things don't have to get ugly here, if you just cooperate a bit."
Ugly? Oh, you could make things turn ugly.
But this wasn't the right time for that - not with the majority of the Harbingers present. It's not like you had a death wish, for Celestia's sake... though, it did seem like Tartaglia was only half serious about what he had said?
You looked past him, seeing the other Fatui diplomats standing there, all with hardly readable expressions on their faces. Your gaze stopped when it reached the Jester. If this was about Pierro having something to discuss with you, you were fairly sure you knew what he wanted anyway...
So, no harm in amusing him a bit?
"Ha. Well, it seems like I have no choice, then."
Childe smiled. "That's more like it."
He started making his way toward the front of the cathedral, while still holding onto your wrist - basically, he walked you back there like a toddler. After all, you might've had a change of heart any at any given moment and sprinted out of there like a lunatic.
You awkwardly sat down on one of the seats, wrapping the cloak around you tigther. The Harbingers were now standing in a semicircle in front of you, gazing down at you like their you were property. Pierro took a step forward.
"Now then, Y/N Lohefalter..."
"You are going to ask about my Visions, right?" you asked rudely. "As in, plural. Both of them. Is my assumption wrong?"
Pantalone chuckled. "Well, aren't you clever, my dear~"
"No, I always knew Rosalyne had told you, which is precisely why I tend to keep a lower profile than this. There's no reason to be so melodramatic over a couple of Visions."
Dottore seemed amused by your remark.
"But most humans never receive one. Yet, here you are, blessed with two."
"That, or cursed" you pointed out.
The Jester had allowed this interruption, but all it took was one gaze of authority from him and even you realized it was better to watch your mouth around this man. You tilted your head slightly downward.
"This assumption you made isn't necessarily untrue," Pierro stated in a low voice. "But it's not the whole truth, either."
It wasn't?
You heard footsteps approaching and carefully glanced up at Pierro who was now standing mere inches away from you. Things were getting more interesting, that's for sure.
"I asked you to come here today out of respect for Rosalyne's memory, and of curiosity toward the fact that you indeed bear the power of both Cryo and Pyro, much like your sister, albeit without a Delusion. My intention, however, was also to make a request of you..."
The Jester suddenly kneeled before you, his gesture confusing you. The infamous Director of the Fatui, kneeling before you?
You gave him a doubtful look.
"And what might that request be?"
"To put it simply, I want you to take Rosalyne's place as one of the Fatui Harbingers."
"...come again?"
The other Harbingers didn't seem surprised in the slightest.
You shook your head.
"You want me to join the Fatui?"
"We've been keeping a close eye on you, Y/N Lohefalter, ever since the Cataclysm and Rosalyne joining our ranks. Back then, she herself made the request that should she ever perish, you'd be asked to take her place."
"Ha," you chuckled. "That does sound like one of her selfish whims... but still, why would you even consider such a thing?"
You looked at Pierro, tilting your head.
"Can you really trust that my agendas align with yours?"
"Every person in this room has their own ideals and it has not proved to be a problem." The Director nodded. "You need not but work in the name of the Fatui, and swear your loyalty to the Tsaritsa. Of course, the latter is expected of you as a citizen of Snezhnaya anyway."
You crossed you arms, contemplating this unexpected proposal.
"And if I refuse?"
This earned displeased looks from the other Harbingers. Pierro's solemn expression, however, never faltered.
"It's far beyond my dignity to be forceful here. That would be disrespecting Rosalyne's legacy, and risking to make you a powerful foe of the Fatui."
He paused for a while.
"But I should also clarify that with the kind of power you hold, you are facing but two choices - to be with us... or against us."
So that's how it was going to be?
You'd almost forgotten that Pierro was still half-kneeling in front of you; even though one of his eyes was covered by a mask, his gaze held such intensity that you were completely enchanted by it for a moment.
And to think you'd make this kind of a decision on a whim, just like she once had - you really were more similar to your sister than you'd care to admit...
You sighed, standing up and glancing at the other Harbingers.
"Is this how he recruited you as well?"
Sandrone made a 'hmph' sound, "hardly."
"Heh, to think the Jester would kneel in front of someone?~" Pantalone commented. "You're quite an impressive girl, my dear."
"Then again," Dottore chuckled. "she has yet to meet the crueler side of the Director, no?"
Tartaglia sighed, "now, now, don't scare her away..."
Pulcinella and Capitano didn't seem too amused by their comrades' antics. You, on the other hand, had their undivided attention.
Columbina was sleepily humming along to some tune, giving you discreet glances.
Arlecchino shook her head.
"Pierro still awaits for an answer, Y/N. Despite of what he may seem like, the Jester is not a man of great patience. It's time for you to decide."
You furrowed your eyebrows.
"..."
"Then, I'm in?"
But for the love of the Tsaritsa, you had no idea what you'd just gotten yourself into.

i'm at the end of the world with you
fill for @merlinmicrofic ; prompt: masquerade merlin/arthur, teen+, ~mysterious came out at exactly 500 words lol ~~~ It’s hidden here, marooned from morality. He’s underneath a guise like every other, parading castle grounds, with wolfish grins and panther masks. His father insisted on the dragon, insisted on carrying their name with pride everywhere they went. Arthur eventually found it was best to do as told.
But tonight his father won’t recognize him, and the sycophantic lords that had daughters, who had daughters that wanted daughters, would leave him to his cage in silence. Music bleats with the same whine that eventually grates on him, the chord striking through a chasm he exists through. Where he walks with an air of indifference, of royalty and shame, as they are meant to live.
His blond hair reveals him and the crowd still parts as he makes way to the drinks. Except for a boot, leathered and worn, sticking out from a lounging attendee, on a chair that he’d only ever seen as decor.
The man doesn’t move his leg out of the way, but he turns his head to smirk, blue eyes meeting Arthur’s with a sparkle. He’s got a black mask with gold lining, fitted so well it seemed painted, and sleek raven feathers that curled over his head, almost like a crown.
Their gazes flit and linger for the night, passing guests and watching the actions of the other with growing curiosity.
At last, Arthur finds him in the garden, far from viewing eyes, escaping his personal guards.
“Something tells me you’re ready to follow me out the gates,” he remarks, still smiling and Arthur is no less enamored than when he realized this man fully intended to trip him at the party.
“Follow you? I don’t even know you,” Arthur scoffs, but lies have always spilled so easily. This is no different. He’s beautiful, and it’s obvious he’s powerful, uninvited and unafraid. He traces the railing with a hand, walking along the planted path with inherited care, “I suppose you’ll whisk me away to spill the kingdom’s secrets?”
“You’ve got it all wrong already.” Arthur looks up to see his smile is devastating; sincere and playful, and out of place. Arthur loves anything that’s out of this place. “I’m here for you.”
And he loves the way it sounds already, if his tight grip on the railing says anything. He also knows that it’s madness, that he is the prodigal son with a prince’s duty. He couldn’t be swept away without dire consequences, even on innocent people knowing his father’s wrath.
The funny thing is that he felt he knew this stranger more than his own family.
“How do you plan on evading the king’s search? Because he will come looking for me.”
“I didn’t hear a refusal,” he responds instead, taking a step closer. Brazen, bold. Arthur felt his heart stutter.
“My name is Merlin,” he says, with a flash of gold sparking in his eyes. Merlin. It fills in the crevice of his throat where fear used to lie.
“Well, Merlin? Are we going?”

For the DVD commentary… any 500 words from when Charles meets the ice dragon in the fantasy fic 🤔
IN THE ORIGINAL CHARLES WAS LEGIT SUPPOSED TO SLAY THE DRAGON anyway thank u my friend and CHARLES DRAGONRIDER COMRADE
What was I thinking when I wrote this: PHEW WE FINALLY GOT HERE!!!! (because this is where the fic was going the whole time). I guess I was also really worried it would be too short and anticlimactic. I always knew the fic as a whole would end... unresolved... but i was a bit like - how do I put together the mail being lost + the Darkness coming + this sort of parallel human/dragon society thing + Charles' new political position as an emissary for the king + how achieving dreams never comes in the form expected. In some ways, I think i executed things okay, in others, I felt as though I was muddling through the dark.
The great dragon totally became its own character and the scene went MUCH differently than planned and like yes the great dragon still dies (or does he? He does). I honestly wanted the scene to be much longer than it ended up but to be frank, writing fantasy epic prophecy is a gift i do NOT HAVE hence why the dragon is like okay you people totally made up the prophecy and it has nothing to do with me (this is probably not true. I think it probably WAS manufactured out of SOMETHING the great dragon said and embellished etc but that's not the point)
Back to the thing where this scene is supposed to weave a lot together - I read a lot of fantasy (I don't really consider myself a fantasy fan but of course I am. I'm almost done with the wise man's fear which is like 1100 pages) and obviously I write a fair bit so I kind of wanted to put those things together. And also Charles imo is the f1 driver most suited to a fantasy style story with its twists and turns (I think an arg could also be made for seb and perhaps daniel, though a different, less hopeful story). Anyway this started as trying to mimic the fantasy I read as a kid (think like... Fablehaven. Eragon) but of course is much more influenced by the much more complex (actually idk I didn't reread any ya fantasy for this) stuff I read now and this scene is sort of a clumsy culmination of those two influences - what I sort of think a fantasy Stereotype climax is (because it really is - a boy and his dragon! It's genre!!). I really learned that keeping all those strands of plot and feeling straight is a LOT harder than I expected. I have only written one fic longer than this one and ngl it's more straightforward. so idk. i wrote it because i love Charles and i love a dream that is not quite what you expect. the funny thing about writing this fic is I didn't know where it would end up as much as I usually do. And it just sort of spiraled out of everything else... idk!
in terms of charles... i know this is a plot driven fic but i wanted to show Charles 1) tenacity 2) shyness!! 3) need to be liked (i mean who wouldn't want to be liked by a giant dragon anyway) 4) the fact that he Is the chosen one even though it's not what everyone thought when they looked at him at the academy and whatnot 5) he's hard working!. I also wanted to dig more into what it meant for him and carlotta to fly together after the great dragon but alas...
on the great dragon grind....i have to be honest I was sort of imagining that John hunt dragon voice from merlin but in reality (in fantasy?) its meant to represent that the dragon's voice can truly not be comprehended by man... so Charles imitating it (by accident!) is a big deal....idk. It's like - how do you create that feeling of awe and importance in a fic that's only 30k! I was writing it and I was like ok so u guys don't know the in world magic or the dragon society rules or the history/lore... and then i was like this is already 30k and for me and my 5bffs it cannot get any longer for my own health
Ok i guess I could tell you way more about whats actually going on with charles and the Dragon In His Head or Dragon Charles But I honestly sort of came up with a lot of that... On the fly... Or maybe it's because that all would be the reveal in a sequel (idk that I'm planning on writing one but I've got a long winter ahead of me.... and the great dragon did live in the ice wall... and Charles is... Yknow...)

Hardest exercise yet
I am going through the writing exercises in Steering the Craft by Ursula K. Le Guin. This exercise was about NOT using adjectives or adverbs because if you can get the same description with fewer words that's better (Really Le Guin explains the reasoning for these exercises so well, go read the book).
I chose to edit a 500 word passage to remove adjectives and adverbs AND THIS WAS HARD. I know I didn't 100% succeed, but I definitely spent a lot of time thinking about alternative wordings so I think I got the benefit of the exercise (also sorry this post is a book in itself)
ORIGINAL
The cacophony of clinks, clangs, and chatter soothes the rough edges off of Alexander's existential crisis. A whole real world exists outside of the network. The cafeteria is set up like a buffet, hand-lettered signs directing patrons. Bright silver chaffers are set up on crisp white linen with little flames underneath keeping the food warm. Each dish is accompanied by a folded-tent notecard with hand written ingredients. A mix of professional and country charm.
He sets his very full tray down at an empty table, but that doesn't last long. He's an oddity and these people have no sense of privacy.
"Got an appetite, do ya, young man?" asks an older masc-individual with hair like wispy white clouds floating unkempt around a wrinkled face. They are wearing a dark blue button down that looks like what they might've worn everyday during their working years. Alexander supposes he is young in comparison.
"I wanted to try everything," he explains. Two lasagna choices, four vegetable sides, and garlic bread quickly overwhelmed a plate even when taking small portions.
"I never liked broccoli," they comment, seemingly just for want of something to say. "but the girl Philipa's got cooking does an alright job of it."
Alexander nods, mouth full, waiting until he could add, "Yeah everything is good. I never thought I would like turnips." He stabs a baked white wedge onto his fork.
"You all have turnips in Huriya? I always thought you lot ate paste out of squeezies."
Alexander has heard this one before. "Haha, no. I think most people in the southern provinces do eat more pre-packaged food, but there's still sit-down restaurants like this." He gestures around them to indicate the hotel's cafeteria, though he meant more like ordering from a menu. "And the pre-packaged food is still normal food. Like I've gotten heat and eat lasagna before."
"Huh," they don't seem particularly pleased to learn that the stereotype isn't true. "But this is better, right?" they insist. "This is real food."
"It's different," Alexander hedges.
The older local is right, the food is more 'real' if real means less processing and fewer additives. He wants to like it more than he does. He doesn't not like it. But there are so many strong unusual flavors that come across as dirt, grass, blood, or medicine to Alexander's palette. Stringy plant bits are hard to chew through, and grisly fatty meat gobs feel gross and seem to upset his stomach. Surely, he'll adjust.
"Everything is scaled up," Alexander continues, "So companies tend to only keep the most popular items." RIP Mx. Coffee Mix, original flavor. "Like I've never seen nettles or dandelion greens before."
The stranger seems pleased with this praise, though Alexander is essentially saying the food is more varied here because people continue using less savory ingredients.
"NO" ADJECTIVES/ADVERBS VERSION
The cacophony of clinks, clangs, and chatter cracks the shell of Alexander's existential crisis. Existance persists outside of the network. The cafeteria is set up like a buffet; Someone handpainted directions on planks to help patrons navigate down the line of chaffers. Handwriting on notecards, which have been folded into tents, list out ingredients.
Alexander finds a table to himself and sets his tray down causing the plates of food to clatter. Alexander has gotten in one bite before he's joined. These people have no sense of privacy.
"Got an appetite, do ya, young man?" asks the pensioner with wisps like clouds floating around a face of wrinkles. They are wearing a button down that looks like what they might've worn everyday during their working years. Alexander supposes he is young in comparison.
"I wanted to try everything," he explains. The buffet offered lasagna with and without meat, turnips, broccoli, asparagus, beets, and garlic bread. Taking everything, even in moderation, has overwhelmed Alexander's plate.
"I never liked broccoli," they comment, poking the broccoli on their plate with a fork. "but the girl Philipa's got cooking manages."
Alexander nods, chewing, waiting until he could add, "Yeah everything is good. I never thought I would like turnips." He stabs another wedge onto his fork.
"You all have turnips in Huriya? I always thought you lot ate paste out of squeezies."
Alexander has heard this one before. "Haha, no. I think most people do eat more grab-n-gos, but we also have restaurants like this." He gestures around them to indicate the hotel's cafeteria, though he meant more like ordering from a menu. "And they pack normal food in the grab-n-gos. Like I've gotten heat and eat lasagna before."
"Huh." They chafe at the idea that the stereotype isn't true. "But this is better, right?" they insist. "This is real food."
"It's different," Alexander hedges.
The local is right, if 'real' means no additives and no processing in a factory.
Alexander wants to like it; he doesn't not like it. He likes the sauce and noodles, but there's also flavors that come across as dirt, grass, blood, or medicine to Alexander's palette. Fibers from one of the vegetables accumulate in his mouth as they refuse to be chewed, and the gristle and fat from the meat upset his stomach. Everyone else seems to enjoy the food; Alexander will adjust.
"Everything is scaled up," Alexander continues, "So companies tend to discontinue lemons. You know: flops, duds." RIP Mx. Coffee Mix, original flavor. "Like I've never seen nettles or dandelion greens before."
The stranger nods at this praise, though Alexander's opinion boils down to Noegrad chooses to suffer for the sake of variety.

Tumblr media
YOUR POV
Questions about the tiniest, most ridiculous things were bombarded at you from each direction as you walked in the palace,
“Do you want dark green or light green curtains in the ballroom?”
“We’ve already invited 500 people to the dinner party, can we stretch that to 600?”
“Should we pair the roses with orchids or gardenias?”
Ever since you and Loki had announced your engagement, Asgard had gone wild. The servants were tasked with making the most fantastic royal wedding, and it was getting exhausting. Loki hadn’t asked for this and neither had you. Odin was orchestrating it all, and it was definitely not from a good will.
The old man cared so much about appearance and he wanted to show the people what it meant to be royal. After all, Loki was a prince and you were about to become a princess. Odin wanted to put up a facade, and dare you say it seemed like he wanted to show that royalty was much better than the common people. To throw luxurious parties and waste so much gold on an unfathomable amount of flowers and other unnecessaries. To put up a show and conceal the love you and Loki had for each other. You were supposed to act cold and proud that day, but it wasn’t what you desired.
Truly, all you wanted was to be with Loki and celebrate the love you had for one another. Nothing more than that.
After days of circus Odin had created, you were done. You felt like slamming the door to your soon to be shared bedroom, but didn’t do it as you realized the door itself hadn’t done anything to you. Loki was sitting on an emerald green armchair, book in hand and he looked up to you with almost a worried gaze. It softened when he realized that it was you, not another poor servant who was terrified of getting any details wrong.
“Bad morning?” Loki judged the look on your face. Your shoulders were tense and it looked like you had been spun around like a music box doll everywhere you had been.
“You could say so,” You sighed deeply and made your way closer to Loki. Although the day had begun poorly, you felt immediately much better when you were with the Trickster you had fallen for.
Loki put the book down on the coffee table next to an empty cup of tea and he stood up, meeting you in a loving embrace. You relaxed in his arms and for a moment, you closed your eyes and let yourself get lost in the moment.
“I chose a dress,” You let him know. At least, that was done now. One less thing to worry about.
“I’m sure it’s beautiful,” Loki sounded excited. He couldn’t wait to see you in your bridal outfit. The thought alone made his heart race in his chest. Oh how lucky he felt to have you.
You parted from his embrace and sat down on the second armchair so you could stretch your legs. It had been a long morning.
“I don’t wish to complain,” you started carefully, “but I don’t know how much more of this I can handle. This wedding is getting out of hand.”
Loki agreed with you, but hearing it made him worry. He was afraid you would get cold feet. If so, he would certainly blame Odin for it. But now, he wiped that thought away, for he had an idea.
“My love,” Loki took your hand in his and he lowered himself on one knee right in front of you, just like he had a few weeks ago. He was so devoted to you, he made you feel special.
“Yes?”
“What if I told you I have a plan?” A familiar grin appeared on his face. The way his lips curled ever so slightly made shivers run down your spine. He was up to something.
“Oh?” You were certainly curious. Loki never had bad ideas. Well, it depended on how one would define ‘bad’ ideas.
“Let’s elope, in secret. It’ll be just you and me and whoever shall wed us. No one needs to know until it’s official,” Loki proposed his idea to you.
And it was a brilliant idea. It was exactly what you had wanted. Something small and private. Away from hundreds or thousands of eyes which meant you could be comfortable. It wouldn’t be a show, it would be a loving moment just for you and just for him, one you would cherish forever.
It was also slightly rebellious, which only made it so much better. You could already envision the smoke coming out of Odin’s ears, and the dumbfounded look on Thor’s face. The people would have something to gossip about.
“What will your family think of it?” Honestly, you didn’t really care, but you played with the idea in your mind.
Loki put on a thoughtful look for a moment, pretending to be deep in thought, “I think...” He then returned his gaze to you and a playful gleam lit in his eyes, “that I don’t care at all. Perhaps my mother will be most understanding. Either way, it’s none of their concern, so what do you say?”
“Let’s do it,” You were convinced it was the best idea he could come up with regarding your wedding.
Loki was relieved to hear that and he quickly leaned close to you in order to catch your lips with his. The kiss deepened quickly. The way he held you was so strong and lively that you were afraid the chair would fall back, so you wrapped your arms around his strong torso to brace yourself.
When his soft lips pressed against the sensitive skin on your neck, you let out a laugh, “Loki!” You held onto him tighter, “if you’re going to kiss me like that, then maybe we shall move to the bed? This armchair wasn’t made for two.”
In a graceful manner, he dragged the two of you up to your feet, off of the chair, “if you insist, my love.”
_
The sun was beginning to set behind the horizon. It was still warm outside and the gentle wind cooled everything down. You were high over the water which allowed you to see most of Asgard, yet the place offered much needed privacy. Shadows cast on the stony pathway under your feet, which contrasted beautifully with the golden rays of sunlight that made everything look like a page from a fairy tale. Your eyes followed the trail of flower petals that smelled so lovely and sweet, and then you saw Loki.
He was standing there with a nervous smile on his face. The officiant who was going to wed you stood beside him and even he smiled as he saw you, but you could only focus on Loki. He wore his full Asgardian gear and the gold and emerald green looked fantastic on him. His raven hair was brushed neatly and it looked soft underneath his helmet. The emerald cape was flowing ever so lightly as the wind played with it.
In that moment, you felt like the luckiest person in the nine realms.
You walked all the way up to him and then made sure your dress was smoothly cascaded around your legs and you wiped off any possible dust. It was the dress of your dreams and it made you feel so comfortable in your own skin. The jewelry you wore matched the dress and Loki’s gear, and you felt neat. You were truly a match made in the heavens.
When your eyes met with Loki’s, your heart jumped to your throat. He looked so beautiful and happy. Joy was simply radiating from him and it was infectious. To see him like that was a sight you could never forget.
He took your hands into his and whispered, “you look ever so beautiful, my dear.” There was a tear in the corner of his eye and surely there were tears in yours. This was the moment you had waited for since you were small. It was your wedding day, when you and Loki would commit to one another for the rest of your lives.
The officiant cleared his throat and you both turned to look at him. Asgardian weddings could vary so much. Everyone expected you to have the biggest wedding anyone had ever seen since Odin and Frigga’s, but here you were. It was just the three of you there. You didn’t recognize the officiant who was holding your rings, but it didn’t matter. The ceremony was going to be brief anyway and then you and Loki could do whatever your hearts desired.
At first, the officiant spoke about your forefathers and mothers, asked them to bless you on your shared journey that was about to begin. He talked about Valhalla, and wished you strength and luck for your future. Eventually, it was time for your vows. You were slightly nervous then and you wondered how you would’ve felt if all of Asgard had been watching you. That would’ve been a nightmare.
Loki took a deep breath as he prepared to speak. He had tried his best to remember his vows without having to look at a paper. Although he had known you for so long and shown you his most vulnerable sides, he felt jittery as he prepared to recite his vows to you.
“Y/N,” He began by saying your name. You gave his hands a comforting squeeze. You wondered if his words would make you cry.
“You’re the love of my life. I still don’t understand what I did in order to end up with you, but I promise to make it all worthwhile. I assure you, I will stand by your side through thick and thin. I won’t let anything come between us, ever,” Loki seemed more confident after a few lines. He stood more comfortable and let the tension wash away from his muscles.
“I will treat you like the goddess you are and I will support you through everything in life. You make me so happy, and I wish to make you happy too. I will cherish each and every day that I get to spend with you, because I love you. I love you for all that you are and who you will become as we grow. You make me feel like a better person and you make me want to be good.”
“...I want to listen to you, to be your rock. I want to go through good days and bad because now I know that I won’t be alone. I know that I am much to handle, but I will never allow my life to come in the way of yours. No matter where life takes us, I won’t leave you alone. As long as we’re together, I promise to be the best version of myself. For our future family, for us, for you,” Loki continued his vows smoothly. Each word seemed to come straight from his heart and soul. They certainly tugged at your heartstrings in the very best way. There was no doubt, Loki loved you as much as you loved him.
“I will love you, always,” He finished his vows with a pledge. If it wasn’t for the ceremony, you would’ve kissed him. Each cell of your being was practically begging for it, but you kept yourself together for just a while longer.
He grabbed the golden ring carefully, afraid he would drop it. Then he held your hand and slipped the ring on your finger. It was a perfect fit and it looked amazing. The green jewel looked like magic as sunlight pierced through it from a million different angles. You would have to get used to carrying that on your finger, but it wasn’t heavy. It was just right.
Now it was your turn. Both Loki and the officiant looked at you expectantly. How could you match Loki’s words? You only hoped that he could feel the sincerity of your soft spoken words.
“Loki, you are the light of my life, the reason why I get through even the hardest of days, and why I can enjoy the good days even more than I usually would,” You tried your hardest to stay composed. A part of you wanted to crumble because you were so overwhelmed with love. When you felt his hands on yours, you managed to stay calm and collected and you continued,
“I promise to be your ally in conflict, your partner in life, parenthood, crime,” You joked just to ease the tension you felt, earning a chuckle from Loki who hadn’t expected that, but he found it amusing nonetheless. This was exactly why he loved you. You were never too serious. Truly, you were his partner in crime.
“I promise to be yours forever. Being with you makes life feel complete. On hard days when we argue, I promise I won’t go to bed angry. I want to work with you through everything life has to offer. I will never abandon you. If you go, I go, right?” You paused for a moment and tried to remember the rest of your vows. You had written them down several times and you were happy you did so, because it made it so much easier to remember. The sentences came straight from your heart now.
Before you could go on, you decided to grab the ring that would soon decorate his hand. You held onto it for dear life.
“I can’t wait to grow old with you, Loki. I promise to give you my heart, my soul, my faith. Regardless of what happens in the future, I’m here for you. We will face it all together. From this day forward, until the day we die, until we are reunited in Valhalla, I love you. Always,” You felt immensely relieved as you finished your vows. It felt good to have said it all and know that soon you would be married.
Loki let you put the ring around his finger, and his ring fit him flawlessly too. For a moment, you adored the way your hands looked now that you both had your wedding rings on. It was almost too good to be true.
And when you tried to study Loki’s expression, you felt confident that the words had been enough for his ears. You couldn’t remember ever seeing him look so radiant. It was like you had stepped on cloud nine together and nothing could possibly drag you down.
The officiant deemed you finished, so he spoke, “I say this before our forefathers and mothers so that they may bless this marriage. They may bare witness to the bond that you are about to form,” He turned to face the prince, “do you Prince Loki Odinson of Asgard take Y/N Y/L/N to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until all eternity’s end?”
The moment you had waited for was finally here
Loki faced you fully and he couldn’t dream of getting married to anyone but you. It was easy for him to say, “I do.”
The man nodded and then asked you the very same question, “Do you Y/N Y/L/N, take Prince Loki Odinson of Asgard to be your lawfully wedded husband to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until all eternity’s end?
Your heart was racing in your chest. It was like you were floating, that was how delighted you felt. There was no doubt to be found in your voice as you responded,
“I do.”
“Very well then,” The man failed to hold back a smile, “I now pronounce you husband and wife. May the gods and goddesses of Valhalla bless this marriage.”
Just like that, you were married.
Both of you were so ecstatic. When Loki leaned close to you and kissed you, it felt like you had entered paradise. Like all the flowers bloomed in seconds, like butterflies danced all around you, like you were bathing in sunlight and magic. You were enveloped in each other’s arms and your lips were sealed in a passionate kiss that felt never ending. It was your first kiss in the new chapter of your lives, and it was just for you.
The officiant gathered his things and left as quietly as a mouse, which Loki and he had agreed upon previously. That you barely noticed as you were lost in one another. It wasn’t until you parted from the kiss that you realized you were alone, just the way you liked it, away from prying eyes.
Loki wrapped his arm around your waist and then turned to look over the balcony. Vines were hanging over the railing and now you noticed the flowers he - or someone else - had set up. The sun was almost below the horizon and it painted the sky a beautiful mix of orange, gold and pink. Far away, you could already see a pool of stars gathering around the moons of Asgard. It was a beautiful sight.
“We’re married,” Loki had to say it out loud. It was difficult to believe to be true.
“Yes we are, my husband,” calling Loki that was thrilling. You wanted to shout it from the rooftops.
My husband, he enjoyed the sound of that. He would never grow bored of hearing it, he was sure. Loki played with the material of your dress, finding it smooth to touch. He couldn’t wait to discard it. He wanted to make you get lost in pleasure and bliss that night.
“I have a surprise for us,” Loki decided it was time.
“You do?”
“It’s our wedding day, my love. Of course I have more planned out for just the two of us,” Loki explained. He had been determined to make it special without guests. If others insisted on having a party later, that would be a problem for another day. You could celebrate without the judging guests and Loki’s family that could be a bit over the top.
“Does it involve cake?” You wondered curiously as he offered you his arm to hold onto. As you accepted that, he began to lead the way.
“You’ll have to wait and see.”

Pairing: Brad Simpson x reader
Synopsis: the boys chase a drunk Brad down the street as he tries to make things right with you
Masterlist
Tumblr media
“Hello?” Brad called out as he walked into the house. “I’m home.”
“Brad?” You froze in your tracks as a chill went down your spine. He came into your shared bedroom with an unsuspecting smile on his face, making your hands clench around the box in your hands.
“Hi darling.” He greeted you as he set his suitcase on the ground.
“What are you doing here?” You asked softly.
“I live here.” He teased before his eyes fell on the box in your hands. His face crumpled as he read “picture frames” written on the side in your handwriting.
“What are you doing?” He asked weakly, eyes never leaving the box.
“You said you were coming home tomorrow.” You reminded him.
“My flight was changed.” He told you. “What are you doing?”
“I’m sorry.” You whispered. “You weren’t supposed to be home.”
“What are you doing?” He repeated, firmly this time. You looked down at the box, unable to look him in the eyes as he slowly figured out what was happening.
“I’m leaving.” You mumbled without lifting your head. Brad slowly looked around the room, finally seeing how empty it was without your belongings. He looked at you in confusion and you nearly broke down.
“You.” You continued. “I’m leaving you.”
“What?” His asked, voice cracking. “Why?”
“You’re never here.” You told him with a shaking voice. “I’m on my own more than I’m with you. And when you’re gone, you don’t call. You don’t call or text or really give me any sort of indication that you remember me. I can’t do this anymore, Brad. I’m done.”
“But...what?” He rubbed his face as he tried to process what you were saying.
“I’m not happy, Brad.” You said weakly. “You’re a perfect boyfriend when you’re home but the second you leave for tour, it’s like I don’t exist.”
“That’s not true.” He protested.
“Its not?” You laughed sadly. “We hardly ever speak. Look at your phone. When was the last time you texted me?”
Brad took out his phone, sure that you were wrong. He looked at his messages and sure enough, you were right.
“Wednesday.” He answered sheepishly.
“Yeah.” You nodded. “It’s Monday.”
“You’re leaving me because I haven’t texted you in a few days?” He asked.
“It’s not just that.” You whined and walked past him. He ran after you and stood in front of you.
“Then what is it?” He asked as he blocked your path.
“I shouldn’t have to explain it to you. You should know.” You said and tried to move past him.
“But I don’t. Please, baby. I don’t understand.”
You stopped trying to get past him and looked into his glassy eyes. It took everything in you not to unpack the box and stay with him. As much as you wanted to stay, you knew you had to leave.
“Bradley.” You sighed. “I wake up every morning and I have no idea if you love me or not. I can’t keep waiting for you to let me be a part of your life. I have to go.”
You walked past him and went out the front door with him following behind you.
“Please.” He begged. “Don’t leave. I can change.”
“I’ve heard that before.” You said as you walked faster to your car. You tried to open your car door but he put his hand on it to keep it closed.
“It will be different this time.” He assured you. “I promise.”
You looked at all your belongings in the backseat of your car for a minute before looking back at him. He was silently begging you to stay as tears slipped from his eyes.
“I just can’t believe you.” You shook your head. “I’m sorry.”
You walked around the car and got in the front seat but he caught the door before you could shut it.
“But, darling.” He cried. “I love you.”
“And I love you.” You told him. His eyes lit up as he hoped that meant you were changing your mind.
“It’s just not enough.” You continued. His hand slipped off the door in shock, and you were able to shut it. He watched you pull away as tears fell from his eyes, and that’s when he knew he had lost.
2 months later
The boys were sitting around in Tristan’s living room, all mindlessly scrolling through their phones. Brad noticed James smile suddenly, then look at Conner and Tristan. They shook their heads at him and James quickly put his phone down.
“What?” Brad asked when he noticed the strange interaction. The boys exchanged a look, and silently decided not to lie to Brad.
“Y/n just congratulated me on All Night hitting 500 million streams on Spotify.” James explained. Brad stiffened when he heard your name and looked to the other boys.
“Yeah.” Tristan nodded slowly. “She texted me too.”
“I wonder how she’s been.” Connor said, earning a glare from Tristan and James. Brad let out a defeated sigh and rubbed his face, also wondering how you had been. He couldn’t find the words to say, so he just hung his head in shame.
“Sorry, mate.” Connor apologized. “I didn’t mean to bring it up.”
“It’s fine.” Brad shrugged as he got up. He grabbed a beer from the refrigerator and sipped it while looking out the window.
“I talked to Kirstie’s friend from work. Remember I told you about Heather?” James changed the subject. “She said she’d go out with you tonight if you want.”
“Sure.” Brad replied, hardly listening.
“Give her a chance mate.” James suggested. “You might like her.”
“Yeah.” Tristan agreed. “Especially since Y/n-“
Tristan was cut off with a harsh series of hushes from the other boys. Brad returned his attention to them, knowing they were trying to keep something from him.
“What about Y/n?” He asked.
“Nothing.” Connor said as he glared at Tristan.
“Tris.” Brad singled him out. Tristan looked at him apologetically and sighed.
“I heard shes seeing someone.” He admitted. Brad stumbled backwards a little as the wind was knocked out of him. He sat back down in the living room and stared at the wall.
“Dude.” James hit his arm.
“He asked.” Tristan defended himself. “And he was gonna find out eventually.”
“Brad, you okay?” Connor asked.
“I’m fine.” Brad replied as he wiped his eyes. “When does that Hannah want to meet?”
“It’s Heather.” James corrected. “And she said anytime.”
“All right.” Brad downed the rest of his beer and stood up. “I’m ready. Text me the address.”
“Don’t you want to get dressed?” James asked kindly, noticing Brad’s week old pajamas.
“I am dressed.” Brad gestured to himself.
“When was the last time you showered?” Tristan wondered.
“Or shaved?” Connor added.
“Wednesday.” Brad shrugged.
“Mate.” Connor sighed. “It’s Monday.”
“Well if she doesn’t like me for me, she’s more the one.” Brad gave them a tipsy smile and opened the front door.
“Okay.” James said wearily. “Have fun.”
Less than two hours later, Brad stumbled back through the front door and flopped onto the couch.
“Hey, man.” James greeted when he heard Brad come in. “How’d it go?”
“Horrible.” Brad mumbled. “She ordered Y/n’s favorite drink and it was downhill from there.”
“Brad.” James sighed and rubbed his friends back.
“James.” Brad whined. “I don’t need you to play matchmaker for me. I don’t want anyone else. I want Y/n. I miss her.”
“I’m sorry, mate.” He said. “But it’s over with Y/n. You have to move on.””
“I can’t move on.” Brad teared up again. “I love her.”
“I know you do.” James nodded. “But you can love her from a distance.”
“No.” Brad decided as he struggled it stand up. “I have to go to her house. I can talk some sense into her.”
Connor walked into the room right as James was trying to reign Brad in.
“What’s he doing?” Connor asked as he helped keep Brad in place.
“He’s drunk.” James explained. “And he’s trying to go to Y/n’s house.”
“I have to see her.” Brad slurred and went for the door.
“Woah woah woah.” Connor held him back. “I’m not so sure that’s a good idea.”
“She’ll listen to me.” Brad declared. “She’ll listen this time. I know she will.”
“I think you should lie down and get some sleep.” James suggested.
“No.” Brad broke free from their grasp. “I’m going to her flat.”
“You can’t drive. You’re drunk.” Connor reminded him.
“I’ll walk.” Brad said as he went out the front door.
“Oh no.” Connor groaned. “Grab him.”
Connor and James chased Brad down the hall right as Tristan was coming up the elevator.
“Woah. Where’s he going?” He asked.
“To Y/n’s house.” James quickly explained as Brad ran out the front door of the apartment building. “Oh no. He got away!”
The boys quickly ran out of the apartment and searched the street for where Brad had gone.
“Brad!” Tristan called. “Where did you go?”
“Oh God.” Connor spotted him in the distance. “He’s running down the street.”
“Come on.” James sighed. “We have to get him.”
The boys chased Brad down the street, but never caught up to them. Even while drunk, he was faster than them. Brad found your apartment building and easily made it past the doorman. The boys finally caught up to him in the hallway by your door.
“Brad.” James tugged his arm towards the elevator. “We have to go home.”
“No.” Brad fought back. “I have to see her. I have to get her back.”
“You can’t just show up there.” Connor protested. “She won’t open the door.”
“I have to talk to her.” Brad slurred. “I have to try.”
“Just let him go.” Tristan sighed. “We’re not gonna be able to stop him.”
James reluctantly let go of Brads arm and let him go to your door.
“Y/n!” Brad called as he knocked on your door. “Open the door please.”
“Come on. You saw her door. Let’s go home.” James tried to tug him again.
“Y/n!” He ignored James and called again.
“She’s not home, mate.” Tristan shrugged. “Let’s go.”
“No. I have to see her.” He cried and knocked again. “Y/n. It’s Bradley. Open the door please.”
Suddenly, you opened your front door to see the boys with their arms around Brad, attempting to pull him away.
“Brad?” You asked when your eyes fell on him. Brad’s face softened and for a minute, he was stone cold sober. You couldn’t help but smile a little at him after not seeing him for months.
“We’re sorry.” James apologized. “We couldn’t stop him.”
“Hi darling.” Brad said weakly.
“Hi.” You chuckled a little at the sight in front of you. “Is he drunk?”
“Out of his mind.” Connor confirmed.
“I’m so sorry for everything.” Brad told you. “I’m sorry I drove you to leave.”
“Brad.” You said softly, finally seeing how broken he was without you. Your heart physically hurt from how badly you missed him.
“Please take me back.” He begged. “I miss you so much. I just want...”
Before he coudk finish his sentence, he passed out on the floor with a hard thud.
“Oh my God.” You gasped as stated at his limp body. “Is he okay?”
“I’m sorry.” Connor grabbed his leg and began to tug it. “We’ll take him home.”
“Wait. It’s okay.” You stopped him. “I’ll take care of him.”
“Are you sure?” Tristan asked.
“Yeah. I dated him for three years. I know how to take care of him.” You smiled softly.
“All right.” Tristan nodded. “It’s good to see you.”
“You too. I miss you guys.” You said as you pulled them into a group hug.
“We miss you.” Connor said as he patted your back. “Just keep an eye on him, okay? He does this a lot. It’s the first time he’s been able to slip through our fingers.”
“I’ll look after him.” You assured them. “And I’ll see you all soon.”
“See you.” James called as they walked towards your elevator. With the boys gone, you turned your full attention to Brad.
“Come on.” You shook him gently. “It’s time to get up.”
“Y/n?” Brad asked in a daze as he slowly woke up.
“Yeah, it’s me.” You chuckled as you tried to lift him. “God, you’re heavy. Woah, and stinky.”
“I’m sorry.” He mumbled from the ground.
“I know. Stand up.” You commanded, and this time he listened. He slowly stood up and swayed a little on his feet.
“We’re going inside, okay?” You said as you wrapped his arm around your shoulder. “Lean on me.”
You helped Brad into your apartment as he hung on your side like dead weight. His head was buried in your hair as you slowly helped him inside.
“You smell good.” He slurred in your ear.
“I wish I could say the same for you.” You teased as you held your breath. You carefully brought him to your couch and began to set him down.
“All right. Easy does it.” You said as you took his arm off of you and let him sit. Brad slumped on your couch like a rag doll and ran his fingers over the material.
“This is your couch?” He asked sleepily.
“Yeah.” You told him. “The previous owner left it.”
Brad winced a little as he remembered that you no longer lived with him and now had a place of your own.
“It’s nice.” He smiled weakly. “We used to have a couch together.”
“Yeah. We used to have a lot together.” You said softly as you sat next to him on the couch. Even though he was drunk, you could see the remorse in Brad’s eyes. He rubbed your couch with his hand and pouted.
“I miss that.” He mumbled. “I miss you.”
“I know, bear.” You modded. “Me too.”
“It’s been so long since you called me that.” He smiled a little when he heard his old nickname from your lips.
“I know.” You chuckled. “We haven’t talked in a while.”
“It’s my fault.” His smile fell. “I fucked everything up.”
“Yeah.” You said quietly. “You did.”
“I’m so sorry.” He told you. “I’ll never stop being sorry.”
“I’d be a lot more willing to forgive you if you took a shower.” You scrunched your nose at him.
“I can do that.” He laughed in his drunken state and tried to stand up. He almost fell over, but you quickly caught him.
“Come on.” You laughed as helped him walk towards the bathroom. “Into the bathroom.”
You lead him into the bathroom and let him lean against you as you walked. You told him it was to help keep him on his feet, but you really just missed his touch.
“Okay.” You pushed the bathroom door open. “We’re here. This is my shower.”
Brad stared at it for a minute as if he’d never seen a shower before.
“How do I use it?” He looked to you for help.
“You just turn the knob.” You laughed and turned the knob towards the hot water.
“Thats too much responsibility for me”. Brad mumbled under his breath.
“Its okay. It’s already warm.” You said as you ran your hand under the water. “Shampoo and conditioner are on the floor. The soap is in the dish.”
As you turned around, you saw Brad tangled up in his shirt with his arms crossed.
“Oh no.” You chuckled. “What happened here?”
“I’m stuck.” His voice was muffled behind the shirt over his head.
“I can see that. Come here.” You gestured for him to come over and he stumbled towards you. You helped him pull his shirt the rest of the way off, reminding you of that way you used to be. He flushed a little under your gaze, feeling more vulnerable than ever.
“You stink.” You scrunched your nose up again when his must hit you.
“I know.” He smiled a little. “Sorry.”
“I took one of your razors by accident. It’s in the cabinet behind the mirror.” You told him. “Use it, please. You look like a pedophile.”
“I’ll use it.” He said, never taking his eyes off you. You stared back at him as you fought the urge to lean in and kiss him right there. You took a step back before you could get ahead of yourself and patted his chest.
“Okay.” You smiled shyly at him. “Have fun in there.”
“I’ll try.” He called after you as you left the bathroom.
When Brad came out of the shower, there was a pile of his clothes sitting on the counter. You had stolen enough of his clothes to throw together an outfit for him. Next to the clothes was a glass of water and some aspirin. He got dresses, popped the pills in his mouth and downed the water before finding his razor in the cabinet.
Once he was done, he padded back into your kitchen and found you sitting at the island.
“There you are.” You smiled at him. “Much better.”
“I feel better.” He told you. “I puked in your toilet though.”
“Well then it’s a good thing I made you some food to fill back up.” You said as you put a plate of eggs and toast in front of him. He looked at you gratefully before digging in.
“Thank you so much.” He said with a mouthful. “I haven eaten in hours.”
“Really? You didn’t eat on your date?” You asked as you put another glass of water by his plate.
“I was hardly even there.” He shook his head. “I drank half the bar though. Wait, how did you know about my date?”
“Tris tells me everything.” You chuckled. “I knew you were on your way here before you even left.”
“Damn.” He laughed as well. You sat in comfortably silence until Brad remembered what drove him to get drunk in the first place. “He told me you were seeing someone.” He said without making eye contact with you.
“It’s not serious.” You shrugged. “It’s only been a few dates.”
Brad felt sick to his stomach as you confirmed his worst nightmare.
“Does he call when he says he will?” He laughed humorlessly.
“Yeah.” You smiled sadly. “And he texts me too.”
“Wow.” Brad rolled his eyes and took a bite of his toast. You got up and poured hot water into a mug before putting his favorite tea bag in it.
“And he owns his own business so he works whatever hours he wants.” You continued as you set the mug in front of him. “No weeks away in other cities.”
“He sounds perfect.” Brad mumbled as he took a sip of his tea.
“Yeah.” You nodded as you sat back down. “I wouldn’t really know, though.”
“Why not?” Brad perked up.
“Cause when I’m with him, all I think about is you.” You said sheepishly. Brad froze and looked at you hopefully when he heard you say this. You gave him a small smile and leaned your chin in your hand, raising your eyebrow a little to tell him the ball was in his court.
“I don’t deserve a second chance from you.” He shook his head. “I don’t deserve any of this.”
“Maybe not.” You agreed. “But I’m giving you one anyway.”
“Why are you being so nice to me?” He wondered. “You never had to open the door. But you let me in, cleaned me up and made me all this food. I broke your heart, remember? Why would you do all this for me?”
“Because I love you.” You said simply. “And l’ve been miserable without you. I should’ve stayed and worked things out. I can’t tell you how much I regret leaving like that.”
“It’s okay.” He nodded and put his hand on top of yours. “It was my fault. I drove you to leave. But I promise, if you come back, everything will be different. I’ll call you so much, you’ll get sick of me. And I’ll start taking you with me on tour. No more months away. I promise.”
“I really want to believe you.” You sighed and toyed with his fingers. “I already know you’re sorry. You left me about 40 voicemails telling me that you are. You’re lucky I haven’t turned one into a song yet.”
“I guess I am pretty lucky.” He chuckled slightly.
“I still might.” You teased. “Next time you piss me off, I’m making a single out of “y/nnnn. I miss you. Please take me back” and getting on the charts.”
“Please don’t.” He whined as he got out of his seat and walked around the kitchen island to be near you.
“As long as you keep your word and make some changes, I won’t have to.” You smiled softly now that he was close to you.
“Thank you for letting me in tonight.” He spoke softly as he eyes stayed on your lips. “Thank you for everything.”
“You’re welcome, bear.” Your lips tugged into a full smile. You wrapped your arms around his neck and rested your forehead against his, relishing in his warmth. Brad took the initiative to lean forward and kiss you for the first time in two months. Three actually, since he’d been away on tour. You pulled him closer to deepen the kiss, feeling like you never wanted to pull away.
“Thank you for taking me back. I love you so much.” He mumbled against your lips. You rested your head on his shoulder and gently swayed with him in the kitchen, missing him more than words can say.
“I love you too, bear.”

Idiots II Draco Malfoy x Reader
This drabble is part of my 800 Follower Celebration!
Summary: Enemies to Lovers. During the 6th year, you slowly realize with the help of Amortentia how you truly feel for the Slytherin. When you go to tell him, it’s too late.
Requested by a lovely anon: “hi! could i request a draco malfoy x reader enemies to lovers with dialogue prompt #20 - “i love you idiot”. thank you!“
A/N: This was supposed to be 500 words lol. I hope you like it! It’s a little angsty. I’m sorry if it feels a little rushed, it’s supposed to be a short drabble. I had a lot of fun writing it though and I hope you enjoy it! <3
Words: 1.3k Pairings: Draco Malfoy x fem!Reader Warnings: angst
Tumblr media
It started in your first year, even before you were sorted into your house. Walking into the Great Hall, you could barely keep your mouth closed as you absorbed the wonders and beauty that suddenly surrounded you. The flying candles, the stars on the ceiling, the laughing students at the four long tables – you knew instantly that this place would become a second home for you.
As you kept marveling at your surroundings, you didn’t notice the group had come to a stop. You made another long step forward and – bumped right into the person in front of you. A small, blonde boy spun around.
“Watch your steps, idiot!”, he spat out and glared at you.
This was the first interaction you ever had with Draco Malfoy – and also the moment, you both began to hate each other. Malfoy liked you almost as much as Potter and when he wasn’t annoying him, he was bothering you. He loved pranking you; insults written on small notes kept flying onto your desk during classes, right after he made fun of your hair or face or whatever else he could think of on that day. You weren’t any better though and kept doing the same things to him. On top of that, the two of you constantly competed in school against each other and when you joined the Quidditch Team, things got even worse.
Your friends always used one word to describe the two of you: annoying.
Things changed in your sixth year. Suddenly, Malfoy seemed distracted and stopped caring about your stupid fights. Even though, you didn’t want to admit it – his behavior bothered you. No, it was the lack of attention that bothered you.
“Why aren’t you happy that he stopped?”, your friend asked you one day. “You hate him, right? So what’s up with the sudden obsession? Are you in love with that idiot or something?”
You laughed at her. What a ridiculous idea! Just the thought made you feel uncomfortable. However, it didn’t leave you and so you started watching him during meals and classes. You noticed the dark circles under his eyes, the way he hardly ate anything at all, how his eyes always seemed to wander around as if his thoughts were elsewhere. Malfoy was always on your mind. Merlin, at some point you even started to dream about him.
Were you worrying about him? No, absolutely not. Never would you worry about that idiot. Because if you did that, it meant you could feel more than just hate for him.
 ***
One day in January, your thoughts trailed off once again during a particularly boring Potions lesson as you watched Malfoy from across the classroom.
“Y/N,” you friend whispered and nudged with your elbow.
“What?”, you asked when you snapped back into reality. She pointed to your teacher.
“Miss Y/L/N,” Slughorn called your name. “Is there a reason why you seem rather distracted today?”
You straightened your back immediately. Oops. “I’m sorry, Professor,” you apologized.
“Hmm,” he made. “Why don’t you come to the front and smell this potion for us. Did you hear Miss Grangers explanations?”
“Uhm, yes, sure,” you stammered and walked over to the cauldron.
Slughorn didn’t believe you. “What do you smell then, Miss Y/L/N?”
Slowly, you leaned forward and sniffed cautiously at the liquid. You frowned. “I can’t smell anything, Professor.”
Slughorn raised an eyebrow. “Please, try again. Be honest with us.”
Again, the same thing happened. As you leaned forward the overwhelming scent of an all too familiar cologne hit you and you wrinkled your nose. “I’m sorry,” you said when you got up, a little more annoyed now. “But I can’t smell anything when Malfoy stands so close. Seriously,” you looked in his direction. “Try using less cologne, it’s disgusting.”
The class was quiet for a few seconds. Malfoys eyes widened and his friends started to grin, while nudging him with their elbows. Then a few girls started to giggle. What was going on?!
“It’s Amortentia, Y/N,” Hermione whispered to you. “It shows your deepest desire.”
Oh.
 ***
To say the rest of the lesson was anything less than a complete humiliation, would have been a lie. Everyone kept grinning at you, making sly remarks, no matter how hard Slughorn tried to get the students to concentrate.
Despite your embarrassment, the words didn’t leave your mind.
It shows your deepest desire.
Malfoy was supposed to be your deepest desire?! No, something must have gone wrong. It simply couldn’t be. Right?
When hours turned into days and days into months, the answer began to seem more and more blurry. Malfoy completely started to ignore you. A part of you was glad, at least he didn’t make fun of the incident. Another part however, slowly began to feel hurt by the way he was so distant all of the sudden. The utter hatred you had felt for years faded more and more and one night when you almost started to cry after he outright refused to work together with you on a Transfiguration project, you finally admitted to yourself: maybe you did feel something for him.
“Tell him,” your friend advised you when you told her in frustration. “It doesn’t matter how he reacts, it’ll end this whole charade and give you reason to move on. Tell him.”
You knew she was right – and so you did.
You left the common room, searching the whole castle for the Slytherin. It was weirdly quiet tonight. After about forty minutes you was on your way to the Astronomy Tower when suddenly you heard some commotion. Did someone scream? No, it was probably just Peeves again. Then you finally found Malfoy. He practically ran around the corner, bumping into you.
“I have to talk to you!”, you exclaimed, reaching for his arm when he wanted to pass you. When you finally got a glimpse of his expression, it made your blood freeze. Pure fear was written all over his face, there were tears on his cheeks.
“You have to leave!”, he hissed and pushed you into a dark corner.
“What no, what happened?”, you asked him anxiously.
“Leave and hide!”, he whispered, turning his head as if he was looking for something – or someone. “You can’t be here.”
“No, Malfoy, I have to –”
“No!”, he interrupted you. For the first time, he looked into your eyes and suddenly his voice softened. “I know. Amortentia.”
You swallowed hard.
“Now, leave, please,” he squeezed your arm. You hadn’t even realized he was still holding onto you. “They will kill you!”
Just the way he said this made you believe him. The temperatures seemed to have dropped a few degrees and a shiver ran down your spine. “Who will?”, you whispered.
He didn’t reply but turned his head when he heard footsteps coming from the Astronomy Tower. Someone was coming. Fast.
“It’s too late, stay hidden,” his voice trembled. “I will lead them into another direction.” With that, he took a step back. “We probably won’t see each other again but that’s not too bad, right? We could never stand each other anyways, right?”
Right?
You felt as if you were choking, yet no tears were starting to run down your cheeks. You were too confused, too scared. What was happening? All you wanted was … “I love you, idiot,” you croaked.
Malfoy began to walk backwards, more tears streaming down his face. His eyes kept glancing to the stairs. Whoever was coming down, had almost reached them. Then, right before he turned around he sent you a small smile filled with fear and desperation. “This can’t happen, Y/L/N.”
A loud laugh caused you to flinch and then a black-haired woman appeared, followed by a few men. With terror, you noticed the Dark Mark on her arm. She screamed something but you were too distraught to understand it.
“This way,” you heard Malfoy say. “It’s a shortcut.”

another one of my own ideas turned into an imagine since i got high on friday, so i’m taking inspo from myself and my experiences. of course in no way am i trying to convince or push getting high onto anyone. i wouldn’t want anyone to do something they’re not interested in doing. and if there are people that do get high that are reading this that don’t think it’s accurate, we all have different experiences when high (edibles or smoking!). i, personally, am the biggest idiot when i’m high and nothing ever feels real!
*i do not own this gif!*
Tumblr media
You stared at the package of “candy” in your hand, contemplating on whether or not you wanted to eat them. You were so deep in thought that you hadn’t noticed Hook walked into your room and furrowed his brows at you, confused by your lack of movement and why you were looking at candy. “What’s that?” His voice made you jump out of your thoughts and shyly smiled at him, fumbling with the candy.
You lifted up the packaging and showed it to him. Hook began to laugh, it soon becoming uncontrollable as he held onto his stomach. “Stoney Patch? Where the hell did you get edibles from?” He asked, his laughter subsiding as he began to control himself. Hook opened up the candy package and took a whiff, his nose scrunching at the scent, which made you snatch the package back.
“I got it from a friend. They said I should try it out since I never have before.” You shrugged, laying the edibles package off to the side of your nightstand and moving back down onto your bed. You had never gotten high and it seemed very undesirable at the moment, but it wouldn’t hurt to experience it. You’d either like it or hate it, and if you hated it.. then you’d never have to do it again.
“Well shit, let’s try it.” Hook said, walking over to your nightstand and picking up the package again. He looked at the packaging, confusion taking over as he tried to understand what everything meant. “500 milligrams? How much are we supposed to eat?”
You raised your eyebrows at him as he read the back of the package, “You actually want to eat them?”. Hook nodded, reaching into the packaging and grabbed two sour patches, smelling it before moving to put it in his mouth.
You looked at him in shock and grabbed his hand. “You’re just gonna eat it straight like that without thinking? Let’s be logical here.” You said, holding his hand while Hook rolled his eyes and still put the edible in his mouth, beginning to chew. You sighed and followed his lead, grabbing two sour patches and put it in your mouth, chewing it. Once the two of you swallowed the edible, you both practically gagged at the after taste. “That’s horrible.” You coughed, immediately reaching for water on your nightstand and drinking it.
Hook turned off your lights and then laid down next to you on your bed. “When do you think this shit will hit?” He asked, beginning to make himself comfortable on your bed. You shrugged, you didn’t know too much about edibles or getting high, which you knew was very stupid of you since you had just taken two and didn’t know what to expect. “It shouldn’t be like more than a couple of hours.” You estimated, grabbing your phone to look at the time.
The two of you laid in bed, cuddling and talking about random things while your favorite tv show played in the background quietly. At first, eating the edibles and waiting for them to kick in was very underwhelming. There was nothing that made you believe it was going to be some other worldly experience and quite frankly, you thought they were shit because it had been an hour and half already with nothing happening.
“Y/N,” You heard Hook groan, turning to look at him. Hook was playing with his lips with his finger, pulling at them and rubbing them with his fingers. “My mouth is so dry.” He whined, then began to start laughing at absolutely nothing, which made you laugh. However as soon as you opened your mouth, you felt the dryness when you began to pull your lips apart to laugh. Hook gasped when he started to feel all over his skin and rub his arms, his eyes widening as he gave you a goofy smile.
Okay, maybe you underestimated how hard these would hit you. Right now, you felt like you were sinking into your bed and the world was spinning, but it felt so good. When you looked back at Hook and felt his arms, you also gasped. “You feel like leather!” Your voice had went a bit higher when you spoke, something unnoticeable to the two of you. Hook looked at you, mouth agape as he started to feel himself again. “I do!”
The two of you spent most of your time talking about things that didn’t even make sense. Hook was talking about how snails weren’t real and how Gary from Spongebob wasn’t a realistic source. “When have you ever seen a real life Gary?” He asked, rolling his eyes, as his words were getting slower and less constructed. You sat there for a few seconds, actually believing him and began to question everything you’ve ever known. “Oh my god, Gary isn’t real!” You said, running a hand through your hair from shock. Hook nodded solemnly and put a hand on your shoulder, “He never was and snails were created to trick us.”
The whole snail debacle had made you grow hungry, your stomach growled and and the thought of food sounded amazing. You licked your dry lips, that became dry yet again, and grabbed your phone. Clicking on your food delivery applications didn’t even feel real and as soon as you were on the app, you were confused to how you even got there or forgot that you had grabbed your phone in the first place. Hook was giggling to himself while you scrolled through several restaurants before settling on your favorite comfort food and ordered a ridiculous amount of food from pizza to wings to garlic bread, which you knew you’d regret once you come down from your high after seeing all the money you spent.
“I just ordered pizza and it’s going to taste so frickin’ good.” Your voice slurred as your eyes kept closing, it was hard to keep them open. You moved around on your bed, trying to get comfortable, and when you grazed your fluffy blanket, it was a feeling never felt before. The softness on your skin was such a satisfying, truly unexplainable feeling. It didn’t even make sense how good it felt. Meanwhile, Hook was completely mesmerized by the random stock photos that displayed on your tv screen while it sleeps. Photos ranging from random scenery in the mountains or lakes to animals had Hook in a trance.
“This is the best vacation I’ve ever been on.” Hook happily sighed as a slight smile appeared on his face while he continued to look at the photos, which you soon joined in on. “Hook, when did we go to the zoo? Why are we in Alaska now? Did we time travel?” You made comments after each photo and it actually did feel like you were in every picture that showed up.
The food you had ordered a while ago had finally came and walking down the stairs was an experience. Hook had forgotten that he had legs and almost fell down the stairs, which resulted in you have to grab onto him the whole way down. When you opened your door and looked outside, the sight of nature had almost moved you to tears. The bright light blue sky and the tree leaves dancing in the light wind was something you thought you created in your mind, but it was real and it was very weird to try to comprehend that.
The two of you went back up to your room and laid the food on your bed. Once again, what you had done previously felt like a dream and not something you had actually done. Everything that was happening right now, even opening the pizza box, felt like a huge dream. Hook took a bite of his pizza and groaned, chewing slowly. “This tastes so good.” He said, taking more bites after.
It took you both almost 40 minutes to even make a dent in your food, that’s how slow the two of you were eating. The slow eating wasn’t even to savor the food, it was because of your movements and how long it took you to process all of this, but it did also taste delicious. You decided to be creative and somehow put your pizza slice on top of your garlic bread and took a bite, nodding your head at the flavors jumping in your mouth. “You’re fucking that shit up!” Hook said, laughing loudly while he looked at you. The two of you were a mess; tomato sauce was on the corner of your lips, Hook had tomato sauce on his nose somehow, and both of you had fingers coated in barbecue.
The two of you knew that you needed to get cleaned up and that’s what you did, starting with throwing out the boxes of food, which was a hard enough task due to the current circumstances. Hook had almost dropped all of the food onto the floor and you had forgotten where your trash can was. When it was time for you to wash your hands, it was a top ten feeling. The water on your skin and the pressure of the water was perfect, it felt so wrong yet it was so right and you didn’t want to turn the water off. You swore shivers ran down your spine while you washed your hands.
After you had cleaned up, the two of you laid on your bed again. Now the exhaustion was hitting you and what you really wanted to do was sleep. Hook took you into his arms as the two of you laid on your sides, looking at each other. “I’ve been with you all day and you still don’t even look real to me.” He laughed, reaching a hand out to feel your face.
While you laid there, it took a few more hours for you to feel almost like yourself again. It was strange going from feeling somewhat normal back to being high out of your mind over and over again. Hook, on the other hand, enjoyed it. Being high gave him some kind of solace and relaxation, on top of feeling everything at a more heightened sense that also made him feel silly, was fun to him. He enjoyed it so much that he made sure to ask you, once this was all over, when the next time the two of you would be doing this.
You decided that you didn’t hate your experience or how getting high felt, so you’d start doing it whenever either of wanted to. Surely it wouldn’t be an every day thing, which you two agreed was a crazy idea, but doing it sporadically going forward gave the two of you something to be excited about.

pairing : roronoa Zoro x fem! Reader
Prompt #20 : Person A + B Are Walking Home Late In Winter, Person B Gets Cold and Person A Decides to Keep Them Warm
tropes / specifics : fake relationship , fem! reader
Summary : After an uneventful day of posing as your fake boyfriend, real feelings are revealed as Zoro takes you home.
500 Follower Masterlist
-
“Sorry about.. today..”
The only tension between the two of you was the heavy silence in the air as you both trudged through the field of snow on the pathway to your home.
Zoro, sparing a glance towards you, only sighs and shakes his head. Gingerly bringing a hand up to the back of his neck, he turns away.
“It’s fine, don’t worry about it.”
Walking together in silence, you let out a breath and look straight ahead. “I definitely didn’t want this to happen.. I didn’t realize how.. overwhelming my family can be..”
Zoro just looks on in silence, waiting for you to continue as he listens.
“They pressure me to find a lover so much, when I’m just fresh into adulthood. How the hell am I supposed to find someone so quick like that?... I’m sorry if you got really uncomfortable tonight.”
You look to Zoro with a sorrowful look in your eyes, offering a weak smile in attempt to lighten the mood.
“I can’t imagine the look on their face when I tell them that we aren’t actually dating, much less even get married.” You exhale, a dejected laugh escaping you. “They’d be so disappointed and perhaps irritated.”
Zoro didn’t respond before he stopped and let out a heavy exhale. “I already said it was fine, dummy.” He breathed out and rubbed his neck under his scarf.
“Still, I—“
Shoving his hand over your mouth, Zoro suddenly gives a sharp look to you.
“Oi, enough already. I don’t give a shit about what happened today and I don’t regret it either, okay? I only did this for you because you needed someone to be your boyfriend and I happened to be free. As your best friend, I wasn’t going to leave you when you’re in need, alright? I’d do anything for you. Stop worrying so much already.”
You blink at him, feeling your heart skip a beat at his words and a pink hue appearing on your already flushed cheeks from the cold.
You averted your eyes and stunned into silence, you instinctively licked his hand that was over your mouth.
Immediately, Zoro recoils his hand away in shock and equal disgust.
“What the fuck was that for?!”
Once he pulled away, you let yourself fall into a fit of giggles as you wiped your mouth, also in attempt to hide your flushed cheeks.
“You wouldn’t let go of me.”
“Seriously?! Just say something or pull away instead!” Zoro scowls, wiping his hand on your jacket to clean off your saliva as you laugh more.
Though his face was still contorted with disgust and just bewilderment at your action, the way your laugh fills his ears in the empty streets makes Zoro relax a bit and his expression softens.
The slightest hint of a smile is seen and he realizes that perhaps now would be the best time to do what he’s been waiting for, for so long.
“Hey.”
You suppress your giggles and sigh gently, turning back to face him with a more relaxed smile on your face. “Yeah, what’s wrong?”
Zoro stares at you for a moment before his smile widens and he exhales quietly. “Nothing.. I.. I meant it, you know. I really would do anything for you, even if it meant dying.”
Your laughter ceases as you felt that same feeling in your chest, and a stranger feeling in your stomach, like butterflies dancing around.
You simply laugh it off, turning away and brought your hands to your chest together to warm them. “W-What are you talking about, Zoro? Come on, it’s getting colder so let’s just-“
“Just hear me out, will you?”
His hand grasps onto your wrist to spin you around to face him, his large hand bringing warmth to your small one instantly.
Zoro’s eyes flickers to the plump look of your lips before back up at your eyes.
“What if we were.. actually dating?.. you wouldn’t have to tell your parents that you were lying if you.. weren’t..”
Zoro was met with a blank stare which made his cheeks flush in response.
“I-I mean, after pretending to be your boyfriend for you in front of your parents made me realize something okay? We’ve been friends for over seven years and I figured now would be a better time than never.”
And yet, you continued to stare blankly at him, just stunned and unsure of how to respond.
Zoro gives an annoyed sigh at it and turns away with the click of his tongue, feeling his cheeks flush further in the embarrassment.
He turns his back to you to hide the pained expression his face held, whilst ignoring the loud sound of his heart breaking in his chest.
“You could at least say something back if you’re going to reject my feelings..” and so, he shoved his hands into his pockets and walks forward, only for you to stop him.
“N-No, wait! I-It’s just-“ effectively making him stop and turn back to you, you spoke. “Are you sure you like me? Like? Like me?”
Zoro furrows his brows at your question and turns fully to face you. “Dumbass, what kind of question is that? Do you think I just confess to anyone? Of course I like you, I figured it was obvious now.”
Your cheeks began to warm up as you sheepishly smiled. “R-right, it’s just a little bit of a shock for me.. I mean, I had no idea..”
Your words didn’t seem to make Zoro feel any better as he frowned. “So even fake dating didn’t make you feel anything?”
This time it was your time to be confused at his question. “I said I didn’t know you liked me, I never said I don’t like you.” You corrected, offering a soft smile as you felt it get colder and slowly a bit darker.
You shiver, rubbing your arms with hands and exhale, looking down to hide your soft blush. “I like you.. a lot, Zoro.”
Zoro’s eyes widen just a bit and a soft smile is quick to replace his frown as his own blush began to spread across his cheeks.
“Do you now?”
You roll your eyes playfully and nod. “I do.”
Zoro slowly grins and began taking off his scarf around his neck. He leans towards you and gently wraps the scarf around your neck and secured it so it was nice and warm for you.
Face inches away, his expression softens as he flickers down to your lips once again. He breathes out gently.
“Good.. practice saying that for when you walk down that aisle in a few years.. or maybe less. Your parents wanted us to get married, right?”
The heat rising to your cheeks didn’t seem to fade as you did your best to hide it in Zoro’s scented scarf.
“S-Shut up. Let’s go home.”

Bonus :
You two did end up getting married. Two years later after confessing to each other that night and your parents were more than overjoyed at the news.
Zoro proposed to you in his own way, nothing too extravagant or too simple, but it was sweet nonetheless. A blush mess he was too, but you loved it.
The wedding was held at the temple, since it was a special occasion and everyone you knew was invited. It was a small ceremony but a special one at that.
You would never forget the day, especially when Zoro’s friends came. The blonde one cooked the large cake and catered the meals too, while his other friends, a short brunette, a taller one with a long nose and a small adorable brunette all stuffed their faces with the food.
And you definitely didn’t forget your first time with Zoro either. Sure, you two did have some.. sinful activities before you two wedded, but you agreed to a month of abstinence until you got married which Zoro deeply regretted but it made the first time after marriage worth it.
Congratulations, you and Zoro are now Husband and Wife. :)

A/N : ah Zoro can call me a dumbass and cut me up with his swords any day~ I hope you liked this!! :D

The air was too hot. Uncomfortable. Sticky. Jungkook loosened the tie around his neck in a desperate attempt to free himself from the confines of his suit. He hated August. It was always too warm, too sunny. He preferred the dark winter days where the snow silenced the universal white noise. Black suits weren’t as suffocating on forty degree days.
He glanced out the window of the Rolls Royce, taking in the pedestrians struggling not to melt in the intense gaze of the sun. He sympathized with their struggle. Even the blast of freezing draft from the air conditioner did little to spare him from the heat. He enjoyed watching people. He was fascinated by the little idiosyncrasies that formed them into unique individuals, each essential to making the world work. Besides, everyone’s life seemed more interesting to him than his own.
There was a point in his life when he was content with the plan his parents had laid out for him before he was in diapers. He looked forward to one day taking over his father’s company, marrying a nice girl, and starting a family. It was a simple plan and one that gained the approval of the adults in his life: something he was constantly vying for as an adolescent. It was what he was raised with. When he went to college, everything changed. For the first time in his existence, he wasn’t being inundated with his parent’s doctrine and found that there was more to life than running Fortune 500 companies. His parents were less than pleased to discover that he had accompanied his business major with a minor in photography.
But despite the longing that had bloomed in him for something more intriguing than sterile offices and mundane board meetings, he still found himself back home where his parents once again instilled in him the desire to be the golden heir. A year after his return as the prodigal son, his parents set him with the woman who was now his wife. Three years after that, his father decided that he would rather spend his days on the golfing green rather than in sky-high conference rooms, so he handed off the company to Jungkook. Ever since Jungkook had been locked inside stuffy black suits and boring ties. And he absolutely hated it.
He squirmed in his seat, his desire to escape increasing with each second he was locked in the back of the car. God, why was it so hot? He felt like crying- a feeling that had become increasingly common during the past six months. His brain felt like a bubbling volcano waiting patiently to explode. Sometimes, Jungkook imagined what would happen when it did. He would divorce his wife, leave his job, and move to some island in the Caribbean where he would spend the rest of his days taking pictures. It was a nice dream, but it was only that, a dream.
He shook his head, trying to contain his runaway emotions. As the car came to a halt in front of the office building, Jungkook tightened his tie and grabbed his briefcase before exiting out into the scalding heat. If inside the car was bad, outside was absolute hell. It was so hot, Jungkook swore he was on fire. He frowned, rushing into the safety of the air-conditioned skyscraper in front of him before he broke out in a sweat.
He sighed in relief the second he made it through the rotating doors. He had never been so grateful for the large air conditioning bill in all his life. His relief was so immense that it took a full minute to realize something was wrong. Normally, the second he walked through the door, his secretary greeted him with an iced coffee and a pastry, but as he looked around, his secretary was nowhere to be found. Yet another sigh escaped his mouth as he stepped into the elevator. Why of all days did today have to be the day his secretary magically disappeared? He shook his head.
He noticed her the minute he arrived at his office floor. She was bent over a box, all her attention focused on searching for whatever object was eluding her. It took her a moment to notice his presence, but when she did, she bolted upright before scurrying in front of the desk, hands behind her back. Jungkook looked her up and down, transfixed by the beautiful stranger.
“Can I help you?”
His voice came out harsher than he meant it to and he cringed when you tried to disguise a wince.
“Um, yes, I’m your new secretary, Mr. Jeon.”
His brows furrowed.
“New secretary? What happened to the old one? He was perfectly fine.”
He didn’t remember any emails about his secretary leaving, although to be fair, he hadn’t been paying attention to much these days. He might physically be at work, but more often than not, his mind had drifted to far off places. Mostly island paradises.
“He moved away.”
“Ah,” he gave you a once over, “and what is your name, new secretary?”
You answered him. He nodded as if you had given him the right answer on a quiz.
“And I don’t suppose anyone has told you how things work around here.”
“No sir.”
His hands clenched at the name, a picture of you on your knees before him (with much less clothing) popped into his head. He shook it off, trying to stay the least bit professional. He had a wife for god’s sake.
“I see. Well, for future reference, I expect you to meet me each day in the lobby with an iced americano and a pastry,” he paused when he realized how demanding he sounded before softly adding, “No cherries though, I hate cherries.”
You nodded, grabbing a sticky note and jotting down his instructions.
“For now, just get settled in. Do you happen to know if I have any meetings today?”
You nodded again, “You have a lunch meeting with the Samsung marketing director at one, sir.”
There it was again. That damn formality. It was really going to get the better of him.
“You will accompany me. I expect you to take notes, but don’t contribute to the conversation. Got it?”
“Yes, sir.”
Jungkook nodded before making a beeline to his office before he got a boner. He let out a sigh of relief as he closed the door behind him. His heart pounded in his chest and despite his desperate attempts, he’s chubbed up a bit in his pants.
He didn’t want to admit that it’s because you might be the most attractive woman he has ever seen. He didn’t want to admit that he hasn’t been this turned on in months. Instead, he passed it off on the fact that he hadn’t had sex with his wife in three months which left behind quite a bit of built-up tension.
The hours ticked by and Jungkook attempted to bury himself with the neverending stack of paperwork. He remembered there was a time when he loved to show off his signature (there was a reason fifteen-year-old him never had a girlfriend), but now he wanted to chop off his hands so that he could never sign a contract again. He was thankful when the clock struck eleven, releasing him from his office, even if it meant being stuck talking shop for an hour while eating expensive but flavorless food.
He stepped out to find you arranging photos on the wall beside your desk. You glanced up when you heard the door open and flashed him a blinding smile.
“Ready, sir?”
He nodded. The title was really going to be a problem.
The meeting was the beginning of Jungkook’s personal purgatory. Every day you would greet him with a smile and the best pastries he had ever tasted. (He was surprised when you admitted to him that you had baked them yourself. If you weren't proving to be an amazing secretary, he would suggest that you open a bakery, but he’s selfish.) You were a good listener and caught onto his routines without a struggle. But every day you would show up dressed as pure temptation. It wasn’t even that your outfits were scandalous, just simple pencil skirts and pastel blouses, but you made them look like sin incarnate. It didn’t help that every night he went home to his wife who he barely noticed existed anymore.
There had been a point when he and his wife were, er, passionate. For the first couple of years, Jungkook even managed to convince himself that he was in love with her. But a couple of months ago, weekly dinners turned into once a month before they disappeared altogether. To make the situation worse, his mother was starting to complain about her lack of children, but he didn’t know how to break it to her that he couldn’t remember the last time he had kissed his wife, much less had sex with her. There were no bitter feelings or resentment, just indifference. He had briefly considered couples therapy before deciding against it. He wasn’t sure he even wanted to attempt to salvage the crumbs of his marriage.
You had only added fuel to the fire. Jungkook found himself just as infatuated with your mind as he was with your body. Not only did you laugh at his dumb jokes and listen to his whining, but you had witty contributions and easily found out-of-the-box solutions. He swore this quarter’s numbers would be higher just from you alone. And you flirted. He wasn’t sure at first, incredibly hesitant to respond in fear of a scandalous HR report. But when he caught your gaze on him when you thought he wasn’t looking one too many times, he realized there was a good chance that you liked him just as much as he liked you.
Between you, his wife, and his desperate need to escape this world of offices, limos, and quid pro quo, his life was unraveling right in front of him. Still, he tried to hold onto all the pieces before they landed in a disappointed heap in his lap. He wasn’t quite ready to let it all go to shit. He definitely was not ready to meet his parents’ disapproving faces when he lost everything they had worked so hard to ensure he had.
Tumblr media
Two months after you began working, he found himself at an overcrowded party praying he was anywhere but there. Sadly, being a CEO meant that he wasn’t allowed to drink away his woes, lest he make a fool of himself in front of all the investors. Instead, he was forced to stay exhaustingly sober as he watched everyone around him devolve into debauchery. He found his wife pleasantly drunk near the bar talking to one of her friends whose face he recognized but couldn’t remember her name for the life of him.
“Having fun darling?”
He grinned, trying to play the role of loving husband. A role that had become increasingly difficult to mimic.
“It’s your birthday party, I should be asking you. Have you even had a drink? Probably not,” she turned back to her friend, “He never drinks at these things, something about keeping up appearances. I think it’s dumb. It’s his own birthday for fuck’s sake.”
He rolled his eyes. There she went again, putting him down. It wasn’t the first time she had commented on his festive sobriety. She wasn’t a fan. Maybe it was because he only fucked her after he drank. Still, he conceded to her teasing, figuring one drink wouldn’t hurt. He waved down a bartender.
“A whiskey on the rocks, please,” he turned back to his wife, “satisfied?”
She grinned at him before resuming ignoring him in favor of whatever fascinating conversation her friend was providing. He sighed before grabbing his drink and making his way out to the balcony. The air inside the penthouse was stuffy and he was beginning to feel claustrophobic. He was surprised to find you already out there, nursing your own drink in your hand. It wasn't unusual for people from the office to be at his personal parties. His father had taught him a long time ago that inviting your employees into your personal life was key to inspiring loyalty. It made them feel like they knew you and that they were important to you. But seeing as you were a relatively new addition, he had never seen you outside of the office and if you were sexy in skirts and blouses, the dress you had on should be illegal. He gulped before leaning next to you on the rail.
"Parties not your thing?"
You jumped, spilling a bit of your drink onto the dark street below.
"Um, no, parties are fine. Rich people parties are just a whole new animal."
He chuckled.
"That's fair I suppose. Even I get sick of those fuckers. They do realize that they aren’t at the office anymore right? No need to brag about how well your stock is doing"
You smiled at him before looking back out at the city skyline. Despite having grown up with views like this, Jungkook still found it breathtaking. Almost as breathtaking as he found you. He took a sip of his drink, trying to drown his thoughts in alcohol. When he looked at you again, he felt his stomach churn. You were so beautiful that he wasn't sure what to do with himself. A sigh escaped him. You broke out of your trance and turned to look at him.
"Something wrong?"
"No. Not really."
You raised your eyebrow.
"I just- I know this sounds stupid and pretentious- but I really just don't want to do this anymore."
"What do you mean?"
"This job. This lifestyle. This life. I was raised to be the perfect CEO with the perfect family, a copy of my father really, but that's not what I want. All my family has ever seen me as is the golden heir and honestly, I don’t know if I can be that anymore."
"Who do you want to be?"
"I don't know. A photographer I guess. And marry somebody I actually choose to fall in love with. And live away from the stress of trying to please every person in my life at the cost of my own happiness."
"You don't love your wife?"
"No, I do. Kinda. I just... My parents picked her out and at some point, I was smitten with her, but we're so different and she wants success and money and, well, I don't care about that as much. She’s not a bad person, she’s just obsessed with her books and her writing, and well, that doesn’t leave much room for family. I’m not much better though."
"Oh."
"And we haven't been too hot lately."
"How so?"
"Um, well, we're really distant, and, um, we haven't had sex in two months."
You snorted and he blanched. He usually never shared that kind of thing with anyone and here he was confessing his personal problems to you, his secretary. The alcohol must be affecting him more than he thought. This is why he didn't drink at parties.
"How? Has she seen you? I would be all over you if I was your wife.”
You realized what you had said a moment too late and you looked at him with wide eyes, a faint blush covering your face. He let out a nervous chuckle.
“Would you now?”
You nodded before downing the rest of your drink. Jungkook felt something akin to butterflies begin to flutter in his stomach. He had known that he was fairly attractive, but something about hearing someone as ethereal as you admit it made his heart do flips.
“Yeah, well, it’s really on me I guess. I haven’t really wanted to.”
“You don’t want to have sex?”
Relief washed over your face when you realized that he wasn’t going to linger on your slip up.
“Yeah. Well no. I do want to have sex. Just not with her.”
“I see. Well, who do you want to have sex with?”
It was a small glimpse, almost imperceptible, but he saw the recognition in your face as you watched his eyes glance over you.
“Me?”
Jungkook gulped. What was he doing? What was he getting himself into? He had a life to protect. Expectations to uphold. And yet, here he was, considering risking it all for a secretary who was making him feel something for the first time in months.
When he gathered enough courage to look at you, he found you staring at his lips. One second he’s waging a war with himself and the next your mouth is on his. Your lips are just as warm and soft as he thought they would be and for a moment he lets himself be absorbed by them. But reality rapidly floods back, and he pushes you away. You looked at him, obviously hurt by the rejection.
“I’m sorry.”
He’s being honest. He doesn’t want to hurt you. But he was a coward who was afraid of what people thought of him. And the things people would think about him if they knew he kissed his secretary were not pretty.
“It’s fine.”
You failed to cover up the disappointment in your voice.
“It’s not you. It’s just I have a wife, and a family with expectations and-”
He sighs.
“Look, it’s fine. Really. I’m just gonna get going, okay? I’ll see you on Monday.”
With that, you leave him to his own devices. He watches your figure go, before turning back to face the city.
“Fuck.”
Tumblr media
If work was hell before, it was nothing compared to what it was now. Every day, he found himself torn between wanting to take you on his desk and wanting to never see you again. Ever since the party, the memory of your lips pressed on his had haunted him like an orphaned Victorian ghost with a thirst for revenge.  It was on replay in his mind to the point he couldn’t properly sleep anymore. He felt like shit, and he was pretty sure he looked it too, but if anyone noticed they neglected to say anything.
You, on the other hand, seemed to be doing just fine. You hadn’t so much as mentioned the party. You performed your duties with your usual pep and continued to bring him your heavenly pastries. He resented you a little bit for being able to move on so easily. Here he was hung up on a moment he had fucked up, and there you were acting like nothing had happened. He wanted to scream.
So he pulled back. He only talked to you if it was absolutely necessary. He never looked your way. He threw himself into his job. But you were still there, just as tempting as the first day he had seen you. His mind was being forced to choose between you alongside the island paradise he dreamed of, and keeping up appearances while pleasing his elders. A week passed and he was miserable. He was exhausted and all his will power had been depleted.
That’s why he ended up doing what he did. Or at least that’s what he told himself. Friday rolled around and Jungkook was at his wit’s end. And then there you were, fifteen feet away from him flirting with some random guy from IT. (Namjoon, maybe?) It was harmless, but it didn’t stop Jungkook’s gut from twisting about inside of him. Why didn’t you flirt with him? Why didn’t you show him any signs of affection? He reminds himself that he rejected you, but it’s no help. Jealousy overwhelms him as he squirms in his leather chair. He barely noticed his hands clamped into fists or the way his jaw had clenched to the point of pain. When Namjoon leans over to whisper into your ear, Jungkook loses the small tidbits of control he had left.
He pushes himself out of his chair and storms out, not bothering to say anything as he grabs your arm and pulls you away from a stunned Namjoon and back to his office, slamming the door behind him.
“Can I help you?”
Your tone is curt and your face was twitching with displeasure. Jungkook realized that once he had you, he wasn’t quite sure what he wanted to do with you. Well, that wasn’t entirely true. He would certainly like to bend you over his desk and fuck you until you couldn’t walk, but he was fairly certain that wouldn’t go over well with you right now.
“Umm…”
He felt a blush cross his face as he realized he was still holding onto your wrist. He released it before turning to pace back and forth across the marble floor.
“Well?”
You folded your arms across your chest, your eyes were alight with something dangerous. Something that Jungkook found incredibly sexy. Before his brain could register with what he was doing, he found himself marching over to you, grabbing you by your waist and pulling you in for a kiss.
You stiffened against him, but before you had a chance to respond, he had pulled away from you. The guilt was almost immediate, drowning him in regret and confusion. You too looked confused, as you stood stock still, surprise plastered all over your face. Jungkook turned and walked back to his chair.
“You can go.”
You seemed to barely register the words as you nodded before absent-mindedly wandering out of his office. Jungkook relaxed in his seat as he tried to make sense of what had happened. He knew he had feelings for you, but nothing he couldn’t handle. Nothing he couldn’t control. But he had lost control and now he wasn’t able to trust himself. And he didn’t know if he wanted to.
After that, things went back to normal. Well, as normal as they could be. He gathered the courage to interact with you again. But now instead of friendly glances and gestures, there were secret looks and subtle touches. Jungkook knew he was a wind-up toy one twist away from snapping, but he couldn’t help but indulge in your flirty gestures.
He found himself growing bolder as the consequences he had once worried about seemed to be a world away. What started with the brush of a hand across the hip, grew to a hand on your thigh in the back of the car. Dark stares and lip bites plagued his day. At night, he would go home and lock himself in his private office where he would wrap his hand around his cock while conjuring up images of you in a variety of wanton states, all for him.
He should’ve known that staying at work late with you would be a bad idea. Usually, you had the rest of the employees to keep you in check. With them gone, he found himself finding little reason to hold himself back.
“And so that’s why I think it’s a good idea to start engaging with younger consumers.”
You had been discussing ways to boost sales for the quarter, but he had stopped listening long ago, instead focusing on how your shirt was opened a button lower than usual.
“Mr. Jeon?”
“Hmm?”
“Are you listening?”
“What? Oh, yeah. Of course. Younger consumers. Got it.”
You raised an eyebrow.
“What?”
“Maybe if you spent less time staring at my chest and more time focusing on these market studies, we would already have higher sales.”
“Sorry.”
“Sure you are.”
“You’re right. I’m not.”
The drop of his voice surprised even him. You looked at him with an unreadable look from your perch on the edge of his desk.
“And what is so enticing about my chest?”
Jungkook gulped. Your eyes had darkened and he felt himself start to stir in his pants.
“It’s a part of you. And you are so sexy I can barely control myself.”
You smirked, before sauntering over to him and lowering yourself into his lap. The scent of your perfume overwhelmed him as you leaned in to whisper in his ear.
“Then don’t.”
Somewhere inside him, a cord snapped. The control he had been trying to reign in had broken free and he was left to his own primal devices. He pulled your lips to his, finally relishing in getting to properly kiss you. You responded instantly, lips moving against his as your hands buried themselves in his hair. You tugged on the strands and Jungkook moaned into your mouth, hips bucking up into you as his hand grabbed your ass. You returned his moans and he took the opportunity to slip his tongue into your mouth.
His brain was a mess of emotions and hormones. He was overwhelmingly hard in his pants and your lips felt too good against his. You rolled your hips on top of him and he let a growl, the need to take you battling with his need to preserve the few remaining shreds of his dignity.
He didn’t have the chance to make a decision though when the office door swung open and the head of a very confused janitor popped in.
“Uh…I thought you were gone,” he stuttered, “...I’ll just leave.”
The janitor blushed before shutting the door. Jungkook turned back to look at you to find a similar rosy hue had graced your cheeks.
“Um...I should probably get going too.”
Your voice was meek and the embarrassment of getting caught was plastered all over your face. He can’t blame you though, he isn’t doing too well himself. The fear of getting caught had left him deflated in more ways than one.
“Yeah, sure, that’s probably good.”
You moved off his lap, readjusting your skirt as you do so. You grab your purse and jacket before walking to the door. Just as you were about to open it, you turn back to look at him.
“Good night, Jungkook.”
He looked up surprised. It was the first time you had called him by his first name. It sounded heavenly coming from your lips.
“Goodnight.”
Before he left for the night, he made sure to track down the janitor and offer him a healthy sum of money to stay quiet. He took it happily and continued on his way.
The weekend passed slowly for Jungkook. You plagued his thoughts with images of your rumpled skirt and the feeling of your hands in his hair. His wife was out of town for yet another business trip. He didn’t care. It just gave him more time with the thought of you while his hand was around his cock.
When Monday finally rolled around, Jungkook found himself the happiest he’d ever been to go to work. As he walked into the lobby, the sight of you washed over him like the cold water of a lake on the hottest day of summer. Something about your smile seemed to relieve him of all the heavy stress he was carrying on his shoulders.
He almost made it through the day without losing control of himself. Despite all the glances he gave you, or the way you brushed your hand against his while you leaned over next to him to explain a chart, he managed to keep it together. But when you bent over in front of his desk to pick up a pen he dropped, he lost all control. The next thing he knew, he was slamming you against his office door, lips attacking yours, while his hips rutted into you.
Your initial shock wore off almost instantly and you groaned as you melted into him. You wrapped a leg around his waist, dragging him closer to your core. The kiss was messy and he was sure your lipstick was ruined. A fervent need overwhelmed him as he humped you like a desperate teenager. You pulled away to catch your breath, dark eyes looking staring back at his own.
“Fuck, you turn me on so much, baby,” he growled into your ear, hips moving faster.
Words seemed to fail you as you whined back at him, pleasure contorting in your face. You suddenly let go of him, before dropping down to your knees. Instead of going to undo his pants like he expected, you simply gave a long lick over his bulge. Jungkook’s legs immediately turned to jello and he had to brace himself on the door to keep himself upright.
“Oh fuck, what are you doing baby?”
“I’m getting you off. Do you want me to make you feel good sir?”
For once he was happy to hear the name. He didn’t get a chance to respond before you grabbed him through his pants. He threw his head back with a moan. It briefly occurred to him that people might hear through the thin walls, but your hand on his hard cock soon relieved him of all thought. It didn’t take much to get him to the point of no return. Even with all the nights spent with his fist and a bottle of lube he still felt like a rubber band getting stretched to its limit. You were barely touching him, but there he was, on the precipice of cumming in his own damn pants. He barely had time to warn you before spurts of hot cum filled his boxer briefs with white. “Oh, fuck.”
You giggled as he let out soft groans, cock twitching in its confines. The high of pleasure was quickly wiped away as the sensation of sticky underwear rose to his attention.
“You’re a bad, bad girl, baby. You made me cum in my pants. Do you know what happens to bad girls?”
“No, sir.”
“They get punished.”
“And how are you going to punish me, sir?”
Jungkook had to stifle a groan. You were still on your knees in front of him, calling him ‘sir’. Despite having just had one of the better orgasms in his life, his dick twitched with interest.
“Stand up.”
You quickly obey, rising to your full height, but keeping eye contact the entire time.
“Take off your panties.”
Your eyes grew wide at his demand, but you obeyed him nonetheless. The second you grasped the pink lace in your hand, he snatched them from you, immediately bringing them up his nose. He inhaled, letting himself get lost in the musky aroma.
“Shit, baby, you smell so good. I can’t wait to eat your wet pussy. But not today. You were bad today and only good girls get their pussy eaten.”
You let out a whimper but kept your mouth shut, body frozen in place. He stuffed your panties into his pant pocket before walking over to his desk and taking a seat.
“You may go.”
You looked like you wanted to say something, probably about your lack of undergarments, but you held your tongue and turned to leave.
“Oh, and one last thing.”
You turned back to him.
“I’m going to need a new suit. It seems I’ve spilled some coffee on this one.”
He smirked and you nodded, before stepping out the door.
He didn’t try to hold himself back after that. He would take you whenever the opportunity arose. It didn’t take long for him to fulfill his promise to eat you out. He would forever remember the way you whined his name while his mouth pulled not one, but two orgasms from your dripping pussy. And when he finally got to feel your mouth around his cock, he was fairly sure he had found nirvana.
He wouldn’t fuck you though. He knew it was silly as if he would be betraying his wife any more than he already was by having sex with you, but for some reason, he felt the need to draw a line. To separate the boundary between the fantasy land he had created with you and the cold reality that he returned home to. His wife had become all but a ghost in his life, and as a result, Jungkook found you providing his only emotional support in addition to sexual release. He didn’t want to admit that somehow, in a few short months, you had grown from being just his secretary to his closest companion.
He didn’t want to admit it because he was too afraid of where it would lead. He was already teetering on the edge to give it all up, even before you had shown up in his office looking like a gift from heaven, but now, now he was fairly certain that even the tiniest breeze would push him over. And he didn’t know if you would be there to catch him if he fell.
But that didn’t stop him from starting to dream of a future with you. The island paradise in his mind expanded to include you. Flashes of laughing children, nights under the stars, and soft kisses danced through his mind. You would have your own bakery, he would take pictures, and together you would create your own little family. One that was far removed from the hassle and the stress of his painful existence.
Jungkook was over the moon to discover that you would be accompanying him on a work trip to Japan. For one whole week, you would be one door away. Even if it was a ruse, Jungkook would be allowed to pretend, for one whole week, that you were his and he was yours alone. On the plane ride alone, he made you cum three times in the cramped bathroom. During the day, you would both try to hold it together. Merger meetings were laced with subtle glances and hidden touches. At night, you would become a whole other animal.
You tested his limits. Dared him to give in and finally give you what you both wanted: him inside you. Every night you would knock on his door in translucent nighties that highlighted the fact you had discarded your bra. After the second night of showing up in see-through clothes, Jungkook decided to return the favor, opening the door with his shirt unbuttoned, leaving his abs out for anyone to see. While you were both visibly affected by each other’s teasing, neither of you gave in until the last moment, each of you leaping into each other's arms and making a mess of the hotel furniture. But he still didn’t fuck you. It was his line. His final frontier.
On the last night of the trip, Jungkook suggested that they finally test out the jacuzzi on his balcony. Bad idea. When you showed up in a tiny red bikini that did little to protect your dignity, Jungkook felt himself spiraling out of control. Instead of greeting you like he usually did, he thrust a cocktail in your hand while trying to will his dick into submission. He made it through about ten minutes in the hot tub, trying to participate in regular conversation with you. But he couldn’t, not when your tits were sitting right there. He was no longer sure if the sweat dripping down his forehead was from the warm water or the pent up tension.
“Fuck.”
“What?”
“I can’t take this anymore,” he groaned.
“Can’t take what?”
Your eyes gleamed, daring him to admit to what they both knew he so desperately needed.
“There is nothing more I want then to sink into your pretty pink pussy right now.”
“So why don’t you?”
It was the first time you had questioned why he refused to have sex with you, and now that you were finally confronting him about it, he found himself at a loss for a reasonable explanation. The line that he thought he was creating by refusing to have sex with you had long ago been blurred to the point of no longer existing. And here you were, with your warm body inches from him, wanting him just as much as he wanted to you and he knew that he was done for.
“Fuck it.”
With that, he pulled you onto his lap, attaching his lips to yours for the three millionth time. He would never tire of your kisses, the way they comforted his soul, and quenched his constant need for your touch. You eagerly responded to him, tongue licking the seam of his lips. As the two of you began to explore each other’s mouths, his hands came up to the string keeping your bikini top together and gave it a quick jerk, letting the scarlet cloth fall from your body. He pulled back and groaned at the sight of your perfect tits, the water around you swishing as he rolled his hips up into yours.
You whined out, “Fuck, baby. Just like that. God, I can’t wait for you to be inside me.”
“Yeah?” Jungkook’s voice was low with lust, “Me neither, baby. You’re gonna be such a good slut for me aren’t you.”
“Yes, sir.”
Even after months of you calling him ‘sir’ in less than professional situations, Jungkook still hadn’t gotten used to it. He felt every inch of his skin tingle with sheer pleasure every time the word fell from your shameless mouth. You whined, teeth pulling at his bottom lip as you pressed down on top of him, just as desperate as he was. He moved from your mouth to your neck, kissing down to your collarbone, where he stopped to take the time to leave a rosy mark that signified you were his and his alone. Once he was satisfied with it, he continued down your chest, taking one of your pretty pink nipples in his mouth, sucking on the hardened bud. You moaned out his name, hips stuttering against his. God, he loved your breasts.
Your hands tangled themselves in his hair, pulling on them to the point of pain. Jungkook didn’t care though. He loved when you showed him just how good he could make you feel. It made him feral. Sure, receiving pleasure was gratifying, but there was nothing quite like watching you squirm from his ministrations.
He reluctantly pulled away from your tits to pull the ties keeping your bikini bottoms intact before discarding the garment in the same manner as your top, leaving you naked on top of him. He took a moment to pull back and admire how beautiful you looked. You sat there as he looked you over, a blush rising to your cheeks. You crossed your arms over your chest in an attempt to make yourself less vulnerable to him.
“Oh no baby, don’t hide yourself from me,” he gently pulls your arms away, “you’re too beautiful to stay covered up.”
Your blush intensified. He smiled at you, wrapping his large arms around your body and carrying you out of the hot tub. Your lips reconnected with his as he stumbled his way into the hotel room, tossing you on the king-sized bed.
“Are you gonna be a good girl for me?”
His voice was as dark as his eyes. You nodded in response, voice escaping you.
“That’s my baby.”
He pulled off his wet swim trunks before joining you on the bed, where your wet body had begun to soak the sheets. If he had his way, they would be much wetter by the time the night was over. He wasted no time diving into your pussy, lips attaching to your clit, drawing out your sweet moans. His fingers found your entrance, circling it a few times to collecting your slick, before slipping one in. Your back arched at the sensation and Jungkook let out a chuckled against your clit.
Your whines grew higher and he could tell that you were getting close to finishing. After months of exploring your body, he was well acquainted with how to play your pussy like an instrument, conducting your symphony of pleasure. He slipped in a second finger, crooking them upwards in search of the spot he knew would make you scream. When you cried out he knew that he had found it and not five seconds later, you were coming all over his digits.
“Fuck, Kook.”
“I hope you don’t think that we’re done yet,” he growled as his fingers slowed before leaving your sopping cunt, “when I’m through with you, you won’t be able to walk for days. I'll have to carry you to every meeting and explain to them that I fucked you too hard for you to function.”
You clenched around nothing at his words and he mindlessly took his cock in his hands, giving it a few quick strokes.
“You like that don’t you? You would love for the entire world to know how much of a whore you are for my cock.”
“I would. I’m a whore for your cock, please give it to me. I’ve been a good girl.”
Without bothering to warn you, he lined himself up before sinking into you. You both groaned at  the feeling of your tight cunt stretching around his cock. After months of dreaming of what your pink walls would feel like around him, he could confirm that the sensation was much better than anything his imagination had conjured.
He started with slow thrusts, trying to give himself time to come off the edge he had already been worked up to. Your legs came to wrap around his waist, pulling him closer to you. As soon as you had adjusted to his girth, you began to roll your hips up to meet his.
“Go faster.”
“Uh uh, if you want Daddy to go faster, you have to beg like a proper slut.”
It just slipped out. Jungkook knew he had a daddy kink, but it generally stayed repressed deep within after his wife had shamed him for it. But you didn’t seem to mind. If anything, you squeezed him even tighter.
“Please Daddy, please go faster. Fuck my tight pussy.”
He conceded to your wishes, pulling all the way out, before thrusting back in. He set a tireless pace, pounding into you so hard the bed began to shake. He leaned down, meeting your lips in a sloppy kiss. Your teeth clacked together, but Jungkook didn’t care. He just wanted to be as close to you as possible.
He pulled away from your lips and his cock twitched at the visual of the string of saliva connecting your mouths. Without him to silence you, your moans mingling with the sound of skin slapping creating a beautiful symphony for Jungkook’s ears.
He felt himself approach the edge, honing in on his release. Luckily for him, your pussy was tightening around him, signaling that you were close too.
“Fuck, are you gonna cum for me, baby? Are you gonna come around Daddy’s cock like a good girl?”
“Yes Daddy, I’m gonna cum. I’m gonna cum. I’m gonna-”
Your voice broke off into a high pitched moan as you clenched around him. You threw your head back, hands clawing into his skin. The mix of pain and pleasure sent him over the edge with you. He quickly pulled out before covering your pussy and stomach in white strands. As soon as the waves of ecstasy rescinded, he collapsed on top of you, exhaust claiming his muscles.
He laid there for a minute before hopping up and heading to the bathroom. When he came back out, warm towel in hand, he found you passed out on the soaked sheets. His heart skipped a beat at your blissed-out face and for a moment he wished he could feel as peaceful as you looked. After making sure you were thoroughly clean, he collapsed on the bed next to you. Sleep was quick to come to him, but not before he took you into his arms, burying his face into the crook of your neck.
Tumblr media
A dam had burst. The two of you went at it like rabbits, he would take you any and every way could, whenever he could. He couldn’t get enough of you. He would take you in the back of the limo, in the elevator, empty conference rooms. It was to the point he was sure the entire company knew of your amorous relations, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care. All he thought about was you. Even the fear of disappointing his parents was beginning to diminish. As his feelings for you grew and blossomed, his desire to please anyone else faded into a faint buzz in the background of his mind. You had him whipped.
He knew things were bad when his five year anniversary with his wife rolled around and he didn’t feel a thing when she told him that she wouldn’t be able to be there due to some book tour. Sure, a little part of him was upset that she didn’t care enough to even try to change the tour dates, but he knew that he didn't have a leg to stand on. In fact, he was rather grateful he wouldn’t have to plan some dinner to celebrate a love that had died long ago.
When you heard that he was spending his anniversary alone, you had offered him some company. He felt a twinge of guilt about the idea of having sex with a woman that wasn’t his wife on their anniversary, but not enough to stop him from inviting you over. So there you were, in his foyer, with an overnight bag, a bottle of wine, and a smile that could light up the heavens. He grinned back at you, taking the bottle and leading you into the living room.
“I’ll get us some glasses, yeah?”
“Sure. Do you mind if I change? Work clothes aren’t the most comfortable.”
“Oh, yeah, go ahead. There’s a bathroom down the hall to your left.”
When he returned to the living room with two glasses and a bottle opener, you were curled up on the couch in a tank and shorts. You were flipping through the photography book that he kept on the coffee table. You were so immersed in the pictures that you didn’t notice his presence.
“So whatcha want to do?”
You jumped, startled by the sound of his voice.
“It’s your anniversary, you should decide.”
He placed the opener and the glasses on the table next to the bottle before taking a seat next to you.
“I don’t know. How about we just drink and talk for a bit?” he paused, “Maybe that’s stupid.”
“Nope. Nothing about you is stupid.”
There was your damn smile again. Jungkook hated the way his heart pounded faster because of it. He smiled back at you. It only took a few sips of the merlot before Jungkook had begun to relax. He had been drunk around you plenty of times, but there was something about wine that made him want to pour his entire heart out to you.
He watched as you laughed at your own joke, strands of hair that had fallen loose from your tight ponytail danced on your cheek. The world seemed to slow down a little, time coming to a halt, making the room for him to exist with just you and no one else. It was somewhere in that warm, fuzzy space that the words came tumbling out of his mouth before he could stop them.
“I think I love you.”
Even the air in the room stilled. You stared at him, eyes wide with shock.
“What?”
You looked like a deer in headlights. Jungkook felt like one.
“Nothing. I was just running my mouth. Don’t mind me. Go back to telling me about this dream bakery of yours.”
Much to his chagrin, you didn’t budge, eyes still fixed on his rigid body. Your surprise had evaporated and you were now looking him up and down as if you were trying to analyze his inner thoughts. You both sat frozen for what felt like ages before you moved to kneel in front of him, taking his shaky hands in yours. When you opened your mouth, your voice was soft, caressing his soul.
“I love you too.”
The world stopped in its tracks. Jungkook swore his heart stopped beating in his chest. And then your lips were on his and even though he had kissed you more times than he could count, this felt different. This felt like the collision of two planets, the implosion of a star. Fireworks weren’t enough to describe the cascade of emotions pouring through him. His hands grasped your cheeks, gently caressing the soft skin. You hummed against his mouth as he pushed you back to lie on the couch, while your legs spread to make room for him between your thighs.
Jungkook swore he felt a tear trickle down his cheek, but he couldn’t tell if it was from you or him. He honestly didn’t care. The woman he had grown to love loved him back. He now knew that you would catch him if he fell. And so he let himself tumble over the precipice he had once been so terrified of.  He could finally admit that your embrace was home and that your arms eyes were the safety he never felt. He loved you. You loved him. The stars had aligned.
He trailed his kisses away from your lips and to the crook of your neck where he inhaled. You smelled of the remnants of your perfume mixed with your own personal scent. He swore if he breathed it in enough, he would get high off it. Instead, he placed soft kisses on the delicate skin, before taking it in between his teeth, shamelessly marking you. The whole world would know that you belonged to him, almost as much as he belonged to you.
You moaned as he sucked the bruised skin into his mouth before shifting lower so that his face was right between your breasts. Your flimsy tank top did nothing to stop him from tearing it in two.
“Jesus, Kook,” you groaned as he took in the sight of your braless chest, bare before him.
“What? I can buy you all the tank tops you want. I would buy you the whole world.”
And it was true. If that’s what it would take to make you happy, that’s what he would do. Tears glinted in your eyes at his words before Jungkook ripped a moan out of your mouth when he took a nipple in his. He sucked on it before releasing it with a pop.
“These are the best tits in the world. I love them almost as much as I love you.”
He dove back in taking the neglected breast in his hand, rubbing the nipple. Your hips bucked up into him, desperate for more concrete pleasure than the little he was teasing you with.
“Slow, baby, I’ll get there. Slow.”
You whined in response, head thrown back against the arm of the couch while Jungkook swirled his tongue over you. Even though he was unbelievably hard in his sweats, he found no motivation to do anything about it, his sole focus on you and your pleasure.
He moved to kiss down your stomach. When he reached the hem of your shorts, he pulled them off, before moving to kiss over your lace panties. An obvious wet patch marked the center and Jungkook once again took the time to stop and smell you. The aroma overwhelmed him, driving him mad with carnal lust.
“Fuck baby, your dripping, and I’ve barely touched you yet.”
“That’s ‘cause you’re taking forever. Please baby, I need you.”
And how could he deny you when you were so sweet and all fucked out, just for him. He pulled your soaked panties to the side, groaning at your soaked, pink lips. He dove in, licking one long striped from the bottom of your cunt up to your clit. You bucked against him desperate for more.
In response, he wrapped his arms around your thighs, holding you in place. His tongue found your clit, eliciting angelic moans from you while he drew abstract shapes on your bundle of nerves. Your thighs began to quiver in his grip and he smiled against you. The thought of you coming from just his mouth had his dick twitching in excitement.
“Fuck, Kookie, I’m gonna cum.”
“That’s right baby, cum all over tongue.”
Seconds later, you're soaking his mouth while you writhed in pleasure. But Jungkook didn’t stop. He was too blissed out with his face in your cunt. He would stay like this forever if he could. He pulled one hand away from your thigh, to sneak around to your entrance, a finger slipping inside.
“Oh god, Kook, it’s too much.”
“You can do it, baby. I know you can.”
You looked like you were about to protest before he curled his finger up, hitting your g-spot. You cried out, more slick pouring out of you, if that was possible. He knew that there was a large wet spot staining his ten-thousand-dollar couch, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care. Slipping another finger in you, he began to flick with his tongue, daring you to come again. It didn’t take long.
“Oh shit, Kook, shit, shit, gonna cum, shit, shit-”
He’s never heard you scream so loud in all the months he’s had the privilege of giving you orgasms. Before he could properly register what was happening, you were squirting all over him. Your hips bucked out of your control as you painted his face with your orgasm. Jungkook swore that if he had any less self-control, he would’ve come all over in his pants.
As you came down from your high, Jungkook scooped you up, carrying you to the bedroom. He laid you gently on the bed, giving you a few moments to recover as he stripped himself of his own clothes. You sat up, watching him closely as he slowly revealed himself to you. He was well built, he knew that, but you often told him how much you appreciated his muscles, as if the way you kissed and bit his abs weren’t enough of a clue. He would be lying if he said he hadn’t started working out more just to please you.
But he also knew that he could never step foot in a gym again and you would still love him just as much. That was the difference between you and his wife. You loved him without condition, without the need for him to be someone he wasn’t. His wife had fallen in love with only one version of him, a version that no longer existed.
He joined you on the bed, crawling up between your legs, giving you a soft kiss when he reached your lips. You fell back on the pillows letting him take in your face, your body, you. He bucked up against you, tip rubbing your clit and you let out simultaneous moans.
Just when he was about to slip into you, his phone rang on the bedside table. He groaned, lifting himself up to see who dared to call him when he was about to have sex with the love of his life. A flash of guilt rushed through him when he saw his wife’s name light up the screen. Of course it was her. Despite everything, this was a woman who would keep up appearances until her dying breath. And here he was, about to have sex with another woman in their shared bed. He sighed, swiping to ignore the call, before tossing it back on the table.
This time, he didn’t wait to enter you, thrusting in immediately. He groaned at the feeling of your soft walls encapsulating him. Ever since the first time you had had sex, he had always made sure to use a condom, but he couldn’t bring himself to care that he wasn’t using one now. Being inside you without the extra barrier felt so intrinsically right. In fact, part of him was excited about the idea of going raw and risking getting you pregnant.
“You wanna get me pregnant?”
Your voice was soft and curious. He stilled inside of you,
“Umm…?”
His voice trailed off as he tried to come up with a reasonable response. His brain failed him.
“It’s okay if you do. It’s kinda hot actually.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. I wouldn’t mind having your kid.”
Jungkook couldn’t help the moan that fell out of his mouth. He thrust softly in you. So many hormones were flooding his brain that he could barely focus on what was happening.
“Well, then I guess it’s my duty to make sure you’re nice and pregnant for me by the end of the night.”
“Yeah, Kookie,” you whined, “give it to me. Want you to cum in me. Want your baby.”
The two of you met in a messy kiss as Jungkook pounded into you, balls slapping your ass. Desperation flooded him, determination to knock you up with his child overriding every other need. He’d never had the desire to get someone pregnant like this before. There was something about you that pulled at all his primal instincts.
You were tightening again, your moans drowning out the sound of skin slapping accentuated by Jungkook’s own grunts. Jungkook himself wasn’t too far from finishing himself, having been on edge since you squirted all over him.
“Fuck baby,” you moaned, “you fuck me so well.”
“Yeah. Are you gonna cum for me? Are you gonna cum so that I can get you pregnant?”
“Yes, fuck, I love yo-”
Your voice faded into a scream as tears rolled down your cheeks as you came for the third time that night. The look on your face triggered Jungkook’s own orgasm. He roared as jets of white cum covered your inner walls. His hips stuttered as he chanted your name. Your legs were wrapped tightly around his waist, holding him deep within you.
He rolled over without pulling out, keeping you tight in his arms.
“Mmm,” you hummed, “hope that did the trick.”
“Yeah? Me too,” he smiled.
You grinned back.
“Are you not gonna pull out?”
“We gotta keep my cum in you so we make sure it does the trick.”
“Okay,” you chuckled.
“What?”
He pouted.
“You’re just cute.”
“I’m not cute.”
“Sure...”
He giggled when you rolled your eyes, pressing a peck on your lips. The two of you stayed like that for the rest of the night, wrapped in each other's arms, talking until sleep carried you off into dreamland.
Jungkook woke the next morning before you. He took a moment to admire your face, not believing that you were really all his. He softly kissed your forehead before wiggling his way out of your embrace.
He quietly slipped on a tee and some sweats before making his way to the kitchen where he put on a pot of coffee. While he waited, he checked his phone, expecting to find a voicemail from his wife. He was surprised to find none. He opened the phone app and his stomach dropped. There at the top of his recent calls was a twenty-minute call with her. He must have accidentally answered it. She must have heard everything. Anxiety crept up on him as he began to pace the white kitchen floor. Before he knew what he was doing, the phone was dialing.
“Hello?”
Her voice was groggy.
“Hi.”
His voice quivered.
“What do you want Jungkook?”
“Oh, umm, I’m sorry I guess,” his voice is quiet, “For what you heard.”
“You mean listening to you moan about how you wanted to get your secretary pregnant?”
He cringed at her dripping sarcasm.
“Yeah. That.”
“Don’t be.”
“What?”
“Don’t be sorry. I don’t care.”
“You don’t?”
“Jungkook,” she sighed, “I think we both knew something like this was going to happen.”
“Yeah, I guess. But that doesn’t mean that it was okay for me to cheat on you.”
“That’s true.”
They both stay silent for a minute, letting it all sink in.
“I suppose that means this is the end of the road for us then, huh?”
“Yeah, it is. But it’s okay. We weren’t meant to be. All things being said, you sound like you really love her.”
“I do, I really do.”
“And if I’m being honest, I’ve kinda had a thing for my editor for a while.”
“Seokjin?”
He was honestly surprised that he remembered his name.
“Yeah.”
They both laughed.
“We’ll talk when you get back, yeah?”
“Yeah. Goodbye, Jungkook.”
“Goodbye.”
He hung up before leaning against the counter, throwing his head back to look at the ceiling. A breath of relief escaped as all the weight he had been carrying for so long fell from his shoulders. It was over. His dead marriage was finished and now he had the rest of his life to love you. He laughed giddily before running to wake you up and tell you the news.
Tumblr media
Six months later, he’s on a beach in Jamaica, trying to take a picture of you without you noticing. He’s almost successful, your nose is buried too deep in a paperback you had propped up on your pregnant stomach, but you looked up when you heard the shutter click.
“Jungkook,” you groaned, “I told you not to take pictures of me.”
“I’m sorry, baby, I can’t help it. You're too sexy carrying my baby.”
You rolled your eyes behind your shades.
“Whatever. As long as no one else sees them.”
“Of course, baby. I’m keeping you all to myself.”
You grinned before turning back to your book.
A month after his conversation with his now ex-wife, their divorce had been finalized. He’d simultaneously quit his job as CEO, unafraid of disappointing anyone else at the expense of his happiness. He had made more than enough money to support the two, soon to be three, of you for the rest of your life. Together, you had moved to Jamaica, where you were working on opening a bakery and he had begun a fairly successful photography business. And in three months, the two of you would welcome a beautiful baby girl into the world.
He sighed, overly content with his life. He glanced down to your hand to spot the sparkling diamond on your ring finger. A month ago, he had taken you out on a boat ride where he had asked you to be his wife. You had eagerly accepted.
Now he was blissed out in that island paradise he had dreamed about all those months ago. His stress levels were an all-time low. And, sure, maybe his parents weren’t that happy with him, (all though his mother was over the moon when he announced the impending arrival of a grandchild, finally), but whenever he woke in the morning with you by his side, he couldn’t find it in himself to care. You were his whole world, and he wouldn’t give that up for anything.

Professor Parker Ch. 1| Professor, Peter Parker x Student, Reader
a/n this fic doesn’t follow the marvel cinematic universe but assume that peter has been what he’s been through with the exception that tony lived, and bruce is still bruce, sorry but i just can't deal with endgame hulk/bruce rn emotionally or mentally. im sorry nat is still dead but dw i'll actually treat it with respect unlike endgame like goddamn where was her funeral, am i right? the stages of grief thing they did was interesting though. im sorry i digress, this is set in nyc (because heyo im a new yorka) and the avengers/stark tower is still a thing, peter is fucking traumatized and has turned kind of cold as a result. this fic may contain a smut chapter in the future? not sure yet, where this fic goes depends on the feedback, thanks for reading also sorry im not the proudest of this first chapter so ill probably edit it but promise itll only improve from here just not in the best mental state rn

University life wasn’t exactly everything that you imagined it to be. There was hardly time to do anything that people claimed was good about coming to university. The parties, the epic heartbreaks, and romances, they were just nowhere to be seen. In fact, there was nothing particularly extravagant about your experience thus far. You went to class, studied, and went to your internship. Your internship was probably the most exciting thing about your life at the moment, you were lucky to be accepted into the Stark Industries student internship, the company paid college tuition and only required around twenty hours of lab work a week, you couldn’t complain. Of course, the exciting part of the whole ordeal was the name attached to it, “Stark,” not that you had ever met him, but it was nice to have a unique feature like that in such an impressive student body.
So here you were on the first day of your third year of university. You lived off-campus, about a five-minute walk from the Stark Tower, but a twenty-minute subway ride to your campus. However, having an 882 square foot space to yourself was really nothing you could truly complain about despite the distance. The studio apartment being yet another benefit reaped from Stark Industries. Thank you Tony Stark, the unseen benevolent God in your life.
Typically you would start your mornings off quietly and in no rush, a shower, a cup of coffee, maybe some studying before heading off to your campus, but your phone had other plans for you today. Instead of your alarm going off like it was supposed to, you were woken up by the sound of a particularly loud car horn, and oh how grateful you were for that. As soon as you were jolted awake you shifted to grab your phone and turned it over to see an alarming 8:40am glaring back at you.
Holy shit. You were late.
You scrambled out of bed nearly face planting several times in your hurry to get dressed and only barely ran out the door with everything you needed at 8:47am.
By the time you managed to get to the subway and clamor onto the right train it was already 8:55am. Out of breath and panicking, you considered your options. You could explain after class, you could shoot an email, there were a plethora of things you could do but none of them seemed to justify being late as a third-year to a level 500 class. You had googled all of your professors while registering for classes as was common practice. You couldn’t find a RateMyProfessor on Professor...Parker? You were pretty sure it was Professor Parker, but you do remember seeing on the STEM department page that he was currently a Ph.D. student, so you could only hope that as a fellow student he would be at least a little understanding towards your lateness.
You stood outside of the lecture hall huffing and trying to catch your breath at 9:32am, psyching yourself up, you pushed open the door to the class and attempted to go unnoticed. The class was in a lecture hall despite being only composed of around thirty students, so if you were lucky maybe nobody would even see-
“Ms.(y/l/n), I presume?.” Shit.
“Professor Parker?” Shit.
“You are aware that class starts at 9am, and not 9:30am, would this be correct Ms.(y/l/n)?”
“Yes, Professor, it’s just that I had an emergency.” The lying route. Not exactly the highlight of your academic career.
“I regret to inform you that I only take valid excuses Ms.(y/l/n), please take a seat, and next time, don’t bother disrupting class halfway through the lesson.” Fuck. You mustered a quiet “ok,” and a small nod before escorting yourself to the back of the room, thirty-something eyes following you until you sat down.
You couldn’t focus for the rest of the class, it was just too embarrassing, time moved forward but you couldn’t help but be stuck on what had just happened. For the first ten minutes after sitting down you felt like dropping out of the whole class out of sheer fucking humiliation. This was of course before you reminded yourself that this class was a requirement to graduate in your field of study. You quietly bargained with yourself before sighing quietly and settling on the conclusion that Professor Parker was just a dick. A dick who certainly didn’t deserve the satisfaction of you switching out of his class. If he wanted to be like that, you decided, you would simply return the favor.
“I know, Ms.(y/ln), why don’t you tell us DeBroglie’s equation?”
“With pleasure, Professor Parker.” Yeah, you’d return the favor alright.
“Ms.(y/l/n), you stay.” Fuck that. You looked the other way and feigned ignorance as you kept making your way towards the door. About to leave, the door shut on your face.
“What the fuck!” You jumped before turning around and you felt your face heat up.
“Ms.(y/l/n), please refrain from using profanities in my classroom.”
“I’m sorry Professor Parker. I was just startled.”
“Mhm,” he took his glasses off and laid them on his desk, “Just don’t do it in the future Ms.(y/l/n).”
“Of course. My name is (y/n), by the way, Professor Parker, you can just call me that, actually, I prefer that people refer to me by (y/n).”
“Rest assured, I’m aware of your name, Ms.(y/l/n). My name is Peter, but you can continue to call me Professor Parker.” You could have sworn that you saw a ghost of a smirk on his lips. He knew what he was fucking doing, asshole. You held back from rolling your eyes into the back of your head.
“Of course, Professor Parker.”
“As you know, Ms.(y/l/n), I did request that you stay after class.”
“Oh? I sincerely apologize Professor Parker, I really didn’t hear you.”
“I’m sure, Ms.(y/l/n).” Fucking. Dick.
“Well, what exactly did you want Professor Parker? I do have another class soon.” Professor Parker narrowed his eyes at you in obvious distaste before reaching behind himself into a bin underneath his desk and pulling out a stack of papers,
“These are the handouts you missed from the beginning of the class. Textbook requirements, syllabus...Crucial information to have if you care to succeed in my class Ms.(y/l/n).” So coldly, so maliciously, Professor Parker placed the stack into your arms.
“I take my work very seriously, Ms.(y/l/n), I do my part as your professor so I only have the simple request that my students do the same.” You nodded feeling your face heat up again.
“Of course, Professor Parker, it won’t happen again,” you said with a tightlipped smile.
“Mhm,” Professor Parker turned around and began shuffling around some paper and without giving you a second glance said, “You are dismissed.” You nodded and hurriedly made your way out of his classroom. Of course, you had lied. You didn’t have another class until late in the afternoon. So you called your coworker instead,
“Hey, Harvey.”
“(y/n).”
“Wow, okay, don’t get too excited.”
“Sorry, just woke up.”
“Tsk, the early bird gets the worm, Harvey.”
“I don’t want a worm.”
“Fuck you. I’m headed to the lab, can I expect you?”
“Yeah, yeah.” You had been working with Harvey for around four years now, he was quite the impressive specimen, having attended MIT and graduating Summa Cum Laude at age 20 was no easy feat, he was closer to Tony Stark than you would ever get, he was quite personable, and you couldn’t deny that he was quite good looking. You’d never tell him that though, he didn’t need another ego boost. Besides, you had some connections of your own.
“Hey, (y/n).”
“Banner!”
“Can we expect Harvey today?”
“Honestly, not sure.” You both knowingly smiled at each other before you made your way over to what he was working on,
“Do you ever get bored here?”
“With you and the other idiot always running around? How could I?” You laughed,
“No, seriously, like wouldn’t you rather be doing nerd shit with Tony or something? Isn’t it a little tiresome babysitting us?”
“Tiring? Maybe sometimes, but not nearly as tiring as doing ‘nerd shit’ with Tony. He’s exhausting,” Bruce smiled at his own joke, “I don’t mind playing babysitter at all kid.” He fiddled with the handle of a mug that read, “Don’t be so Na Cl,” which you had gotten him a year back as a joke, but he still used it.
You really loved Bruce for all he was. Since losing your family back in 2012 during the battle in NYC, you didn’t really have any familial figures. But since landing this internship you found yourself with a parental figure again, and you would never be able to put into words how much it meant to you, so you didn’t. Besides, you didn’t want him to feel pressured about it, especially after everything he had been through himself. Frying half your body and losing the love of your life in such a short span of time was really nothing less than horrifying. Yet, here he was, smiling, laughing...You loved him for it.
“First day of junior year? How was that?”
“Shit.”
“Huh?” Bruce stopped tinkering with the device in his hands and looked over at you, “I’ve never heard of a course being too hard for (y/n) (y/l/n), what is it? Aerospace? Quantum?”
“No, just one giant dick.”
“Pardon-”
“My professor, he’s a fucking asshole.”
“Ah, I see. If he’s really harassing you (y/n), I don’t mean to overstep, I really think we should alert administration, what’s his name?” Bruce took a sip of his coffee.
“Professor Parker,” Bruce choked on his coffee, “Oh my God, Bruce, are you okay?”
“Yeah-” he said, still coughing, “Just a little too strong.”
“Okay, are you sure?”
“Yeah, yeah,” Bruce caught his breath, “What did he do kid?”
“He’s just a dick that’s all.”
“You sure you don’t want me to do something about it?”
“Yeah, it’s fine, I don’t know what you could do anyways. Thank you though.”
“Actually, you’d be surprised.”
Sitting at your desk stressing over school work at 3am, it was nothing out of the ordinary for you. Everything appeared ordinary. The ordinary cup of tea, the familiar glow of your computer, and a morning chill creeping through your window. It was all so breathtakingly normal until there was a rap on your window. You took an earbud out of your ear, certain you were just hearing things, you looked to your window. Holy shit.
You opened your window wide so that he could crawl in.
“(y/n)?”
“Mr.Spiderman.” Still too in shock to fully process the situation you started to take in the scene in front of you,
“Please, it’s just Spiderman.”
“Oh-Oh my God, what happened?” Head to toe the suit seemed to have blood seeping through, tears in the body of the suit revealed gashes and a bullet wound.
“Bad guys. I know this guy-said he knew a medical student close by, you are (y/n)? Right?”
“Y-Yeah, but I’m really just a student, I’m not really a prof-”
“This guy, he said you might as well be.”
“I don’t know Mr.Spiderman, really, maybe I could take you to the hospital though.”
“-Spiderman, it’s just Spiderman, listen, (y/n), you know I can’t go to a hospital, it would ruin this whole secret identity thing I got going on here, and this guy, he’s probably the smartest guy I know, so if he says you can handle it, you can.” You swallowed and nodded,
“Yeah-” you wring your hands together, “Yeah-Sorry, let me go get my first aid kit.”

Sorry that I lost our love
Pairing: Din Djarin x Ex-Mandalorian Reader Warnings: Not so vague allusions to sex, Star Wars cursing, actual cursing, violence (more than canon-typical imo), angst peppered throughout, angst ending Word Count: 4.2k (because I can’t write short things to save my life) Notes: If you think I should add anything else as a warning, let me know. I wrote this in an inspired rush and it was 3:30am by the time I finished this. Also please let me know if there’s any stray she/her’s that refer to the reader or anything that describes reader in any way. Thank you!
Summary: A Mandalorian lands on Tatooine and you would like nothing more than to dig a hole and hide in it until he leaves. Too bad you work for Peli Motto and have no choice in the matter. Thankfully he leaves for a bounty but of course that’s when things go sideways.
Sequel with less angst
Tumblr media
The armor was new, all silver beskar but you would recognize that stance anywhere. You had grown up learning everything about him and vice-versa. There was a time when the two of you knew every inch of the other’s body, fumbling around in the dark together, twin blindfolds covering their eyes just in case the lights turned on. Yes, you used to know Din Djarin like the back of your hand. But then he had gone against Guild Code and they came after the Covert. Someone had pulled off your helmet before you could get them off of you and that was the end of that.
The Armorer had been understanding but everyone knew the Creed, your helmet had been removed by someone other than your family. Not that you had any family. Once upon a time you had wished for it to be Din but now…
You had been able to get passage on a ship, got as far as Tatooine which still wasn’t far enough for you but you hadn’t been able to catch another ride yet. Rather than wallow in your sorrow, you found somewhere to work despite being utterly useless at everything outside of fighting. Peli Motto was a beacon of hope, had taken one look at you and taken you in as an employee. At first it was small things, cleaning up after the droids but eventually she began to trust you with a spanner.
And now back to the present.
You didn’t know how much time had passed since that bounty hunter had damned you, when a familiar ship limped its way to the spaceport you had started to call home. You made yourself as scarce as you could as Peli went out to speak with the owner of the ship. You were close enough to hear what was being said but hid behind a piece of junk that even Peli couldn’t fix.
“No droids.”
“It’ll cost ya more but fine,” Peli said before turning her head in the direction she had last seen you. “Starbird, get over here!”
Peli had given you the nickname when you told her you didn’t want to reveal your name to her, not because you couldn’t trust her but because you hadn’t heard someone say it in so long. Well...hadn’t heard someone other than Din but that would never happen again now. You had taken to wearing a scarf, covering your hair even though it wouldn’t matter, and you adjusted it as you walked over. It made you feel more secure, like you weren’t dar’manda even if you knew the truth. He wouldn’t recognize you, had never seen you without your helmet and those nights didn’t count with the pitch black of the room. As long as you didn’t speak around him, you could help Peli fix his ship and he would be gone again.
“Mando here doesn’t like droids so it’s just you and me fixing this rust bucket, got it?”
You nodded silently, ignoring the confused look your silence got you from Peli. The Mandalorian, the one you thought you had known so well, tilted his head and you could almost feel his gaze on you. You and Peli move towards the ship to take note of the obvious damage and you can’t help but cringe when you finally see how bad of a shape it is.
“If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were in a shootout and you have a fuel leak!” Peli kept muttering to herself as she found more and more things wrong with the Razor Crest. You pointed out a few more things to her, still keeping your mouth shut. “This ship is a mess, the fact you were even able to land it! This is gonna set you back.”
“All I have is 500 Imperial credits.” The Mandalorian held the credits out and Peli wasted no time snatching them away from him. “That’s all you got? What do you think, Birdie?”
You shrugged and held a hand out, palm facing the ground as you tilted it from side to side. It was going to take a hell of a lot more credits to fix up the Crest, the fact that it was pre-Imperial making it even harder to find spare parts.
“Well then, this should at least cover the hangar.”
“I’ll get you your money,” The Mandalorian said bluntly, but you could just about hear the desperation beneath the vocoder in his helmet. You were taken aback, had never heard him sound like that before.
“Hmm, we’ve heard that before.”
“Just remember…”
“Yeah, no droids. I heard ya, you don’t have to say it twice.” Peli watched as the Mandalorian walked away before letting out a scoff. “Womp rat.”
Peli sat with the droids, starting up a card game with them, dealing you in without asking. You let out a sigh because she knew how kriffing bad you were at every card game.
“What was that?” You asked, staring at the gangway of the Crest as a loud shriek echoed from the Crest.
“Oh so you are gonna speak today?”
“Sorry, I just-”
Peli cut you off, “Nope, I said I wouldn’t ask questions when I hired you and I meant it.”
You were about to thank Peli for being so understanding when you both hear a cry coming from inside the ship. Peli turned to the droids, “Shh, quick, grab my blaster rifle.”
“Peli, I don’t think you’ll need it.”
“Better safe than sorry, who knows what he has on that rustbucket.” The two of you inched closer to the Crest slowly, Peli with a trigger finger ready to go. “I’d stay in that ship if I were you!”
The tiniest creature you had ever seen started walking down the gangway, smoke and dust getting in its eyes. You let out a gasp, bringing up a hand to cover your mouth when it dropped open. Peli looked at you confused but lowered the blaster rifle, there was no way this...thing was a threat. The little thing let out a coo and looked at you both with its sad eyes. You couldn’t help but move forward to pick it up when it raised his hands in the air.
“Oh honey, did he leave you all alone on the ship?” You asked it, cradling it in your arms before looking up at an equally confused Peli. You gave her a shrug, unsure what else to do. She moved closer and looked into the child’s big eyes and was stumped.
“Would you like some food? Are you hungry?” The child seemed to like that idea, letting out a loud coo as his little stomach growled. Peli turned to the closest droid. “Fetch us something to eat, quick!”
“Maybe something with bones in it,” you added when you caught sight of his little teeth. The droid took off in search of food. “Okay, so here’s the plan, little one. I’m gonna look after you until the Mandalorian gets back.”
“And then I’m gonna charge him extra for watching you, see how that works?” Peli added before heading off to do some repairs, a new pep in her step at the thought of a bigger pay day.
You couldn’t put the child down, just stunned. Was this why he had broken Guild Code? Was this tiny little thing the reason you could never go back home? If it was then more of the anger you had let fester inside of you dissipated, you couldn’t blame Din. As more time passed, the more sleepy both you and the child seemed to get which led to you telling Peli that we were going to give the child a nap. She waved you off saying that she probably would take one too, it wasn’t like you two could do anything for the ship without more credits.
You didn’t even notice when you fell asleep but a loud shout scared both you and the child awake. You let out a quiet shriek and the combination made the child start crying. “Hey, hey, hey, it’s okay. I”m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“Where is it?” You heard the Mandalorian growl to one of the droids and you walked as fast as you could to where he was.
“He’s right here, now keep your voice down. He was taking a nap,” You tried to keep your voice steady, not only to calm the child down but also to still your beating heart. You bounced the kid in your arms a few times, staying light on your feet in order to sway a little as you tried to shush him. The Mandalorian tilted his helmet at the sound of your voice but then he realized that you were still holding the child.
“Give him to me.” He pointed at you threateningly, or at least you supposed he was trying to be threatening. It wasn’t going to work since you were so annoyed with him right now.
“No. You can’t just leave a child alone on a ship like that!” You didn’t mean to raise your voice but you did as you pointed your own finger at him. “I can’t believe someone would trust you enough to have a child with you.”
“You don’t know me.”
“Oh I know more than you think I do,” You said, glaring up at him and hoping that you were making eye contact so he knew how serious you were.
“What’s going on out here?” Peli asked, rubbing sleep from her eyes but alert nonetheless.
“Mando’s back. And he woke up the baby.” You said your last words with a glare towards that kriffing rustbucket.
“Oh well, while you were gone, I started the repair on the fuel leak while Birdie here watched the kid.” Peli gestured towards you but you paid her no mind as you made sure the kid was okay. “There were a couple of setbacks that I want to talk to you about.”
Peli kept going on about the repairs, how they took longer without the droids or your help since you were preoccupied with the child he hadn’t warned you two about. He walked into the ship and you moved back over to Peli, unsure what he was doing. He came back down with a bag and looked at you both.
“We figured you were good for it since you have an extra mouth to feed,” you said, no longer worried about speaking in front of him. He once again tilted his head at the sound of your voice.
“Thank you.” He said before walking away. You were, once again, stunned at how rude he was being. First he leaves a child alone on his ship, threatens you when he realizes you’re holding the kid, and now he’s just going to leave again. You shot a look towards Peli before you followed after him, kid still in your arms.
“You know it takes a lot for Peli to keep those droids powered up, right?”
“Hey, Mando, what do you think? Not too shabby, huh?” A new voice spoke once they were out of the spaceport. You rolled your eyes at the sound. Calican.
The Mandalorian gave the speeder bike a once over, looking over Calican in a way that made it obvious he wasn’t impressed. “What? This isn’t Corellia. Hey, Birdie, still looking good.”
You rolled your eyes at him before turning around to head back inside of Peli’s shop. Those brief seconds of speaking to Toro Calican were more than enough for you. You heard the speeders take off and knew they probably wouldn’t be back until later.
“Well now that we’re all awake, let’s get some more repairs done,” Peli said, already getting ready to do so. You joined her, placing the child on one hip in order to pass her any tools she may need. The suns went down and there was still no sign of the Mandalorian or Toro so you and Peli just kept working. There was nothing else to do. But even repairs couldn’t take forever and soon enough it was just you and your thoughts.
With no sight of either bounty hunters everyone decided to head in for the night, you kept the child with you since you knew Peli already had her hands full with the droids that were like her own children. Morning came quicker than you were prepared for knowing that the Mandalorian and Toro would probably be back soon.
Part of you knew you couldn't wait for the Mandalorian to leave the planet but another part of you, the younger and dumber part of you wished that he would recognize you before he left. You didn’t know what that would do for you, it wasn’t like he could do anything. You were dar’manda now, you could never be together again, no matter how much you missed him.
“Hey, Birdie, I’m gonna head out to the cantina for a bit. Wanna come?” Peli came out of her room, having changed into a slightly cleaner jumpsuit.
You looked down at the child in your arms before looking back up at Peli. “I’m not taking a baby to a cantina.”
“Suit yourself, and if that Mandalorian comes back while I’m gone, make sure he pays before he leaves.”
“Got it, have fun and don’t drink too much.”
“What are you, my mother?” Peli replied shortly but with a smile on her face as she left. You shook your head, a smile on your own face as you looked down at the child.
“Looks like it’s just you and me, kid.”
“Hey, Birdie.” You flinched at the sound of Toro’s voice from behind you and spun on your heel to face him. Your brow furrowed when you noticed that he was alone.
“Toro? Where’s D-- Mando?”
“About that, put that thing on the ground before I shoot you.” He was aiming his blaster at you before you could even blink.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me. I really don’t wanna shoot you, you’re too pretty to die.”
You weighed your options and knew that it would best to listen to him and put the child down before making your move. So you did, placing him on one of the empty fuel drums that you and Peli used as a table.
“I said the ground, are you stupid?” Tora asked as he moved towards the child which is when you moved. Faster than he could react, you rushed forward and hit him with your shoulder, knocking him off balance. He didn’t lose his grip on his blaster, unfortunately, since you hadn’t been able to hit him on that side but you took advantage of his being off balance. You rolled forward and grabbed a spanner as you got back up on your feet and rushed towards Toro again. You pushed him against the Crest, hitting him with the spanner several times before he finally grabbed your arm and held it out to the side, letting you throw a punch with your other fist. You dropped the spanner without meaning to but you had another idea.
You grabbed his blaster, spinning away from him in an attempt to get him to let go of it, even throwing your head back to headbutt him. He wrapped his arms around you and picked you up, dropping you onto another fuel drum. You groaned out in pain, wishing you still had your armor, but you didn’t let go of the blaster even as he picked you back up and you two fell to the ground. You forced him up, grip still hard on the blaster as you tried to break it on a piece of metal. Kriffing Toro and spending all his credits on high end bantha shit. You heard something pop and took the chance to punch him again, followed by a quick elbow to keep him down just a little while longer while you looked for another weapon.
Where was Peli? Or Din? Was Din even still alive?
You didn’t have time to ask yourself anymore questions as Toro grabbed you by the arm, dragging you to your feet, and throwing a punch at your face. Using your arm as leverage he tossed you into the side of the Crest and you turned just in time to block another punch with your arm before bringing your knee up into his side. You put your arms around his neck and flipped both of your bodies over and onto the ground. It was getting harder to catch your breath and you had no idea Toro had that much stamina when fighting. It had been too long since you fought anyone.
You tried to get to your feet before Toro but he beat you to it, throwing several punches your way. You got up, kicking out at him just for him to grab your leg again. But it left you open to punch him yourself, one to the face and another to the stomach. He grabbed your arm, bringing up his own knee to your wrist causing you to let out a shout of pain. He put a hand around your throat but you brought your knee up to his crotch making him fall to the ground. He wasn’t unconscious though so you went for another kick, this one to the face, but he grabbed your leg and flipped you onto your back again.
Even if you wanted to, you couldn’t get back up and you felt so weak all of a sudden. Maybe it was the blood gushing from your nose or the fact that you had now been dropped onto your back twice or the ringing in your ears. Either way, Toro had won. You could hear the child crying from where you had left him, it was amazing that you two hadn’t slammed into it during the fight.
“Didn’t think you had that in you, Birdie.” Toro said as he forced you up. “That was stupid though, I was going to let you go but now...now you get to be my hostage.”
He pulled your hands behind your back, wrapping a cord around them tightly. You could feel it digging into your skin but there wasn’t anything you could do now. You willed yourself to not let him see you cry, cursing yourself for being so Maker damned emotional. “Why are you doing this, Toro?”
“Because that thing has the highest bounty I’ve heard of and Mando...well he’s worth even more with that armor.” The unspoken meaning behind his words hit you like a flash of lightning.
“No!” You thrashed in his grasp, he couldn’t. No, he couldn’t take Din’s armor, he couldn’t be like you. He couldn’t.
“Stay still or I’ll shoot you right now,” Toro growled out. You did as he said because you couldn’t help Din if you died before he made it back. He dragged you along as he went over to where you had placed the child and you winced as he picked him up roughly. As the hours passed, you grew more and more worried for Din. Toro was just getting angrier and you were scared he’d shoot first and ask questions never. You hoped Peli stayed at the cantina a little while longer.
The suns had already gone down by the time he showed up and your breathing had gotten a little more labored. You were also sure that your back was bruised to haran and back. Toro stood a little straighter, pushed you forward a step before speaking. “Took you long enough, Mando. You missed a hell of a fight.”
He shoved his blaster into the middle of your back and you walked down the gangway and into the moonlight to see Din pointing a blaster at you. Really it was on Toro but you were in the way. He took half a step back and his helmet twitched to the side when he caught sight of your face. You were sure you looked a mess, Toro hadn’t even bothered cleaning the blood off your face.
“I’m the one calling the shots now. Drop the blaster and raise ‘em.”
Din did as he was told and placed his hands behind his head. Toro pushed his blaster into your back again before undoing the cord around your wrists. “Cuff him and don’t try anything.”
You let out a quiet growl of anger but ripped the cuffs away from Toro and moved over to where Din was.
“You’re a Guild traitor, Mando.” Toro said, before pointing a gun towards the child. Your hands tightened on the cuffs. “I’m willing to bet this is the target you helped escape.”
You moved to place the cuffs on Din’s wrists when a light clink caught your attention. You looked up and saw your potential saving grace. “Oh you smart man.” You couldn’t help but whisper, only loud enough for him to hear.
“Fennec was right, bringing you in won’t just make me a member of the Guild, it’ll make me legendary.” Toro said. You pretended to shut the cuffs on Din’s wrists, shuffling them behind you as you walked out from behind Din to stand next to him. “Say, Birdie, one last thing before I shoot you.”
“What?”
“What is your real name?”
You didn’t have to answer, you could give Din a signal to set off the flash charger but you couldn’t stop yourself. “...Y/N.” You answered.
A delayed second later and Din pressed down on the flash charger and you shut your eyes before dropping to the ground and rolling behind a fuel drum. You would just get in the way now. You watched as Toro blindly shot at nothing while Din moved behind the crates to the left, popping back out in time to shoot Toro just as he turned. You rushed forward as Toro fell off the gangway, he had still been holding the child.
“Stay back.” Din’s voice was a weird mix of stoic and emotional, the vocoder in his helmet making it sound off.
“He had the child,” you said as Din leaned down to move Toro onto his back. There was no child. “Where did he go?”
You didn’t mean to cling onto Din’s arm as you both looked in every direction. A quiet babble caught your attention as the child game out from behind a couple of baskets. Your heart slowed down from its rapid pace as soon as you saw him. “Oh hun, there you are,” you said as you picked him up.
“You’re okay now,” you bounced the child a few times as Din grabbed something off Toro’s body. He came over to where you were and you pretended to be very interested in the child.
“Y/N.”
“Yes.”
“What happened?” He asked you and you weren’t sure if he meant the wounds on your face, as he reached out to oh so lightly stroke your cheek, or if he meant the fact that you had broken the Creed you both took.
“I tried to fight back, I lost.” It was true of both occasions. Din stared down at you as the child continued to babble. You still couldn’t look up from  looking at the child.
“Come with me.” That got your attention, head snapping up to look at Din like he had lost his mind. You knew he could be dumb sometimes, breaking Guild Code an obvious example, but this took the uj cake.
“I can’t.”
“Why?”
“Din, you know why I can’t go with you.” The fact that he could see you, really see you should have made it clear why you couldn’t go with him.
“I don’t care.”
“You say that now but what about tomorrow, or next week, in two weeks? I’m dar’manda.”
“And it’s my fault, cyar’ika.”  Din said as he moved forward, bringing his helmet down to gently rest against your forehead.
“Don’t call me that, not anymore.”
“Y/N…”
You let out a shuddery breath, blinking away the tears that threatened to rise. “Please don’t make this harder than it needs to be, you need to find somewhere safe for the child, and I cannot go with you.”
Din stared at you for one more long moment before reaching out to take the child, silently passing you the pouch he had taken from Toro. You opened it and let out a gasp, looking back up at Din in shock. He started to reach out again but stopped himself, nodded once, and turned to get back on the Crest. And you just watched him. Kept watching as the Crest took off, leaving you behind once again.
You wished you could go back to the beginning, when you had first met Din as kids with scraped knees and elbows from trying to do all the fight moves the adults could do. Growing up with each other, feelings changing until that first kiss in the pitch dark of someone’s room, you couldn’t remember whose it was. The first time you two snuck out of the covert to rent a room, tying blindfolds around your eyes in order to show how deep your love went for each other.
But you couldn’t. You never could.

Death of the Foolish
Summary: (Hermione x Female Reader) This was the life of Y/n after she was forced to break up with Hermione for reasons out of her control. But there really was no life after it.
Warning: Angst, Death, Blood
Words: 2172
A/N: This is for Emma (@idont-knowrn)and her 300 writing challenge! I’m really sorry that it’s late, I was quite slow on what I was signing up for. But I hope you love it and also congrats on 500, you deserve it!!
Tumblr media
When it comes to the foolish, they tend to sacrifice everything in order to save the ones they love. The decisions often multiply in recklessness and impulsiveness, but it was all for the sake of their love ones. At least, that’s what Y/n tells herself as she sat in deep thought in the Great Hall. She didn’t hear the loud chatter about the upcoming Quidditch match beside her or the latest teen drama, what was louder was the Dark Lord’s task for her and Draco. It echoed so loudly and the only person she could even confide in was the same person she hated so much.
Across the Great Hall, sitting at the Slytherin table, was Draco. In the same position as Y/n, all he could think about was the deadly task placed upon him, to kill the greatest wizard known to wizard kind. What made it worse was the guilt of adding Y/n into the mix of his drama. She was the only person to have found out about the mark of the Dark Lord, all because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. To risk being exposed, he quickly spoke to his parents. It was Lucius’s idea to tell the Dark Lord. This quickly grew messy and complicated. Now with the threat of her parents’ life, Y/n was forced to become a death eater.
Both students had sunken faces, eyes lifeless of color, and with the weight of the world on their shoulders. Seeing as her next class was canceled, Y/n got up from her spot at the table and walked out the Great Hall. This only caught the attention of one person, Hermione.
She had excused herself from the table and walked in a hurried pace to catch up to Y/n. There were many questions replaying in the bright witch’s mind, and all can only be answered by Y/n. You see, Y/n and Hermione had recently broken up. It was strange as well as harsh. It certainly was unexpected on Hermione’s end since they were coming close to their third-year anniversary. One minute, the two were fine, next minute, Hermione had tears in her eyes as Y/n had broken up with her. Hermione was not given a single explanation for their separation and she was certain as hell to get it.
Turning right, Hermione saw you standing at the end of the hall. Not even caring how desperate she looked, Hermione ran up to you until you were a foot away. With a defeated voice Hermione called out, “Y/n.” At the sound of her voice, Y/n had tensed up, but was quick to reply with, “What do you want?” Y/n didn’t mean to be as harsh, but it needed to be done. Hermione was hurt to see Y/n not even bothering to turn around, but with still a lot of determination, she walked in front of her. “Why are you being like this?” Rolling her eyes, Y/n childishly turned around to avoid looking at Hermione. Rather than feeling hurt, Hermione grew frustrated and walked right back in front of Y/n.
“Stop acting like a child and talk to me.” Y/n’s eyes remained everywhere besides Hermione. “You know,” Hermione took a deep breath and shook her head, as if she was contemplating something. “You’re so bloody stubborn. It’s excruciating talking to you.”
Y/n was quick to fire back with, “Then stop talking to me.” Y/n started to walk away from Hermione, in the general direction of the Great Hall, but Hermione was just as stubborn as Y/n. She needed answers and she needed them now. Without much thought, Hermione grabbed Y/n by the shoulders and shoved her up against the wall. For the first time in while, Hermione locked eyes with Y/n and saw how empty they looked. It was like the color was drained and there was no soul behind those beautify eyes. It was obvious as night and day. Hermione’s thoughts only faltered for a little bit before saying, “Would you stop being such a bloody prick and tell me why we broke up? You gave me nothing and after everything we been through, I at least deserve that.” Hermione’s blood was boiling as her breathing sped up. “Did this relationship even mean anything to you?”
Y/n just stood there and took a good look at Hermione. She noticed the small eye bags appearing as well as the slight loss of color on her skin. She was a bit smaller, but not a lot of people would notice, but Y/n noticed. She noticed all the changes that happened to the girl she was very much in love with you. And all she wanted was to tell her the truth, but the less she knew, the better. Y/n grabbed Hermione’s hands and had ripped them off from her robes. She glanced towards her left and saw Draco leaving the Great Hall. It was time. Without any words, Y/n left Hermione standing there. And before she could walk out of ear shot, Hermione said, “No matter how many times you hurt me, I still somehow come back to you. But remember this, one day I will leave and will never come back. So, don’t bother chasing…I won’t ever let you back in.”
Y/n didn’t have time to focus on her heart breaking even more or the tears forcing their way into her eyes. She had to focus on other matters and had met Draco at the astronomy tower to deal with their task.
-Time Skip-
It was dark, night was falling in Malfoy Manor. As cold it was outside, it was nothing compared to the inside. There were fireplaces in amongst every room, but it didn’t matter. The manor felt icy cold, lifeless, and dark as those who lived in it. This was also the place Y/n happened to stay after the fall of Dumbledore. It wasn’t like she had many options to choose. Lucius had wanted to keep a close eye on the girl to make sure she didn’t ruin any of the Dark Lord’s plans. The Malfoy’s were already punished for Lucius actions and any good news he could bring to the Dark Lord, he would tremendously try.
Y/n was in of the many rooms, trying her best to distract her mind from the many thoughts it occupies when she heard new voices in the common room. She peaked around the corner and the sight made her blood turn cold. There she was, Hermione Granger in a place where she was never supposed to be. Hiding back in the hallway, Y/n murmured disagreements and lies as if this whole thing was fake, but when she looked again, there she was in the flesh.
Wracking up her brain, this was not part of the escape plan she had in mind. Everything was quickly going south and there was no time to think. She looked back again and saw that Peter was dragging the boys downstairs, leaving Hermione with Bellatrix. “That gives me time.”
Working her way around, Y/n called on the only person that was prepared to help. “Dobby, I need you now. Apparate to the cellar and help everybody escape. Leave Ron and Harry to me.” Y/n knew it was only seconds before Dobby could get the message. She made her way downstairs and saw Peter opening the gate. With a quick spell, Peter fell forward with no mobility at all. Before going down, she heard the terrifying screams that emerged from Hermione. And as much as she wanted to save her, she needed to be logical first.
Making her way downstairs, she was meant with two pairs of eyes that were filled with rage. With her wand up, Y/n said, “Upstairs. We don’t have much time.”
“Why should we listen to you?” Y/n hesitated and didn’t know quite what to say. The duo was given too many reasons now to doubt her, but she needed all of them to be safe. “You have no choice. Just do as I say.”
Slowly, they walked upstairs and made sure to stay out of view. Y/n saw Hermione laying on the floor, and it killed everything inside of her to know she was tortured. Her screams were already echoing in her mind. “I’ve had enough of this.” Ron walked out of cover and yelled, “Expelliarmus!” Harry reached in the air and caught Bellatrix’s wand.
“Stupefy!” Lucius flew back as Ron and Harry quickly fought against Draco and Narcissa. But it quickly ended at the sight of Hermione having a knife against her throat. “Drop your wands!” Ron and Harry looked at each other with desperation to get out.
“I said drop it!” The boys followed the command and dropped their wands. “Draco, pick up their wands.” Draco quickly followed orders and stood back. Y/n was still at the stairs and had yet to be seen. “It’s time to call the Dark Lord.” Bellatrix said with a heinous laugh following after it.
Lucius pulled up his sleeve revealing the mark of Dark Lord. Before he could call, Y/n whispered a spell, dropping the chandelier. The distraction had made Bellatrix jump out into safety as Hermione ran forward to Ron. Harry grabbed their wands from Draco’s hand without much of a fight from Draco. “Stupefy!” Once again, Lucius was sent back as the trio and Y/n stood next to each other.
“Stupid girl! You’ve could’ve hurt me.” The next thing they knew, Dobby was right behind them, ready to apparate the group out the manor. With one last cold look, Y/n said, “I wish I did.” Dobby then proceed to apparate the group to the designated location. But what they had failed to see was the knife that flew in with them.
Arriving at the beach, Y/n laid flatly on the sand. She could feel an aching feeling in her stomach and had tried to glance down, but that was proven to be difficult for the witch. A couple feet away was the trio and Dobby. They were having a small celebration, to finally be out the manor, when Dobby noticed Y/n.
Pulling on Harry’s clothes, the elf pointed at the injured girl that was quickly losing blood. Harry was about to run to her when Hermione was the first to break out of shock. She kneeled before the girl with tears already prickling her eyes. “Y/n?”
Y/n slightly moved her head in the direction of Hermione. Things were getting blurry, but she knew it was her. “You’re g-g-gonna be okay.” Hermione placed Y/n’s head on her lap as she yelled at Harry and Ron for her bag, but it was all faint mumbles to Y/n. The world around her was growing cold again when she was so close to being back with Hermione.
Knowing this was her end, Y/n reached out for Hermione’s hand. The small movement caught Hermione’s attention and she immediately locked hands with Y/n. The tears were already falling down as her lip quivered at the sight in front of her. Y/n was losing blood badly, something that needed professional help, which was nowhere for miles.
“I’m sorry Hermione.” While wiping her tears with her free hand, Hermione replied, “Please save your energy, we need to get you help.” No matter how smart Hermione was, there was no possible solution for this problem. “I-” Y/n was cut off with a severe cough, blood was trickling out her mouth. “You do mean everything…to me.”
“What?” Hermione looked at Y/n with a ridiculous look. “Stop talking non-sense, we need to find help.” Hermione gave a pleading look to Harry and Ron, but they knew much as well that Y/n’s life was coming to an end. Dobby stood beside Harry with tears falling.
“Please Hermione…please save my parents.” Still, Hermione was clueless to Y/n’s words. She didn’t even know that Y/n’s parents were in danger. “And Hermione…I still-” Y/n coughed up more blood and whispered her last words, “…love…you.”
In within a heartbeat, Y/n was gone from this world with Hermione clutching on to her body in hopes of getting her back. It took several tries from Ron and Harry before they agreed to bury her body close by. It was when Hermione took one last look at Y/n did she notice the large mark on her left forearm. And suddenly, everything clicked. All her questions, pleas, and mysteries were solved with just that mark. Hermione broke down again as Harry and Ron placed the sand on to Y/n’s body.
Hermione was the last one to leave when she said these final words, “I love you too.” And with no time to grieve, the trio were back to fighting the war. Y/n would always be on Hermione’s mind. And when they would win, Hermione would find ways to honor her first love’s name. And whenever she had those sad days, she would sometimes wish Y/n would try to come back in her life. For this time, she promised, she would let her back in.

𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙧! This is not very backed and it's kinda just me making rage filled assumptions but I think I'm right so I'm gonna pretend this is fact
Ok so I've always wondered how なんて素敵にピカレスク, Nante Suteki Ni Pikaresuku, translating to something like What A Wonderful Picaresque became The Roman Episode in the english version (500 times less cool and sexy) because it always seemed to me like they pulled that out of their asses nowhere
I think I've figured out where it came from and I am now way more angry than I should be about it (I'm generally a chill person but this title just makes me 𝙍 𝘼 𝙂 𝙀)
Tumblr media
Ok so this is the poster in the Japanese version and in the middle it does say "Le Roman Picaresque" ohoho so that's where the Roman bit comes from but if you couldn't tell by the 𝙇𝙚 in there it's fucking French.
Le roman means novel so it's The Novel Picaresque which doesn't mean the same thing as the original Japanese does, however it still makes some sense, but noooo it looks like Roman (English referring to Rome) so that's what it must be yup that le doesn't exist and we don't know of any other languages so roman (French meaning novel) doesn't exist either!
Also why would they not just use the directly translated Japanese in the first place?? It makes more sense than Roman, I guess since they're supposed to be part of the Italian Mafia and Rome is in Italy it might make some sense?? But that is a huge stretch for something that's not really mentioned at all so it doesn't make sense why they would use it
Unfortunately I do kinda understand why they changed Picaresque to Episode. To be honest I had no clue what Picaresque meant until I googled it (google says it means "relating to an episodic style of fiction dealing with the adventures of a rough and dishonest but appealing hero" which describes it well)
I'm pretty sure they wanted to make it more understandable to English players but I'm doing so they lost 75% of the meaning and 100% of the sexiness and that was the Wrong Choice sexiness and funky words are always the way to go. Anyone who disagrees is a fool.
So! The translation is bitch and now we have the Roman Episode instead of the cooler and sexier What A Wonderful Picaresque
Anyway here's a meme I made to cope

Oh shit.
You flew down the hall, bursting into Kaminari’s bedroom without knocking. The blonde sat up quickly at your intrusion, but relaxed slightly upon seeing it was you.
“What’s up speed racer?” He joked, folding his legs up to make room for you on the bed. You walked up to the side of the bed, dropping your knees on the edge and falling forward face-down onto the covers.
“I messed up, Denki,” You groaned, rolling over onto your back and staring at the ceiling. “I sent a text to Shinsou-”
He let out a little snort. “Now that’s unusual.”
“Yeah,” You agreed. “Because it was a text that was not meant for him.”
“It couldn’t have been that bad, right?” He asked, now a little nervous. You couldn’t blame him. You and Kaminari had clicked instantly at the beginning of your first year at U.A., and now you’d pretty much consider him your best friend, and you his. But come the end of first year, with the trial and following announcement that Shinsou Hitoshi, general ed student, would be transfering into the hero course- and more specifically- your class, Kaminari Denki had seemed to collect himself yet another best friend.
And you had made your first rival.
You hadn’t wanted to. But when you had first heard about Shinsou’s quirk, people couldn’t help but compare it to yours. As long as you maintained skin to skin contact, you could command another person to do anything that you wanted. Paired with your athletic background (which started when you were young, at the insistence of your parents that it’d “prepare you for hero training”) you were clearly the superior “mind control” student. You didn’t understand why another one was needed in the hero course. Wasn’t he just fine being in the general course?
But of course he had to join class 2A, become Aizawa’s favorite, and start to steal the attention of your best friend.
But Kaminari was his own person, and he made his own choices about when he hung out with the two of you. It really wasn’t fair to put him in the middle of your mess of feelings. And even though he was Shinsou’s friend, you knew he would keep your secrets.
You turned onto your side to look at him. “Here just- read this.” You shoved your phone at him. He took it in his hand, his face contorting into a grimace as he read your mistake once, twice, three times.
“...Why the hell did you send him this?” You slapped your hands against your face in embarrassment and despair. He mockingly cleared his throat. “‘Can you believe purple hair beat me in today’s exercise? Why does he have to basically have my quirk? If he wasn’t so hot I’d be really pissed.’” Kaminari let out a whistle. “Wow, now there is a lot to unpack here, hun.”
You winced. “Yeah, that text was supposed to go to Mina, but I mean- fucking hell, I don’t know?” You ran your hands over your face. “I guess I somehow just clicked the wrong contact and instead it went to him! And it’s even worse that he hasn’t responded about it yet.” You’d never outright said to Shinsou that you disliked him, but you had to assume he knew, and felt the same way about you.
“I didn’t know you thought he was hot,” Kaminari said, wiggling his eyebrows. You launched a pillow at him that he ducked.
“C’mon, anyone with a brain can see that he’s attractive,” You muttered. “It’s the same as Todoroki, or maybe Bakugou if you took away some of the attitude.”
He let out a sigh. “Yeah you’re right.” After a moment of silence he pressed your phone back into your hand. “Anyways, I think the best approach would be to sort it out face to face. Texting can make things too muddled sometimes.”
“Since when did you have so much wisdom?”
He nudged you with a knee. “Hey, there’s a reason you came running to me.”
“I suppose you’re right.” It’ll probably be really awkward and not fun, but you should try to explain yourself in person.
Which is how you found yourself on the outskirts of the woods by the dorm buildings watching Shinsou workout, your presence still unnoticed as his back was turned to you. Kaminari had directed you here, knowing that his friend often trained here on his own.
Suddenly he relaxed his stance, speaking without turning around. “What, you got more to say to me than what was in that text?”
You gritted your teeth at his words. What is up with his attitude!? “Yeah, well maybe I do.” You crossed your arms, shifting most of your weight onto one foot.
Shinsou glanced over his shoulder. “Sucks for you, I’m busy.” He reached down to the ground and slung his towel over his shoulder. “Since my quirk is clearly inferior to yours, I need to keep training.” You winced slightly at his words.
“Hey, I never said it like that-”
“Yeah, well you didn’t have to.” He sighed before turning to face you fully. “Look, I get it, you feel like I’m trying to take your spot here at U.A. Well just- don’t worry about it, okay? I’ll stay out of your way.”
As he began walking away, you found yourself stepping after him. “Shinsou, it’s not fair to phrase it that way.”
He stopped and turned to face you once more. “What do you know about ‘not fair’?” Shinsou took a step closer to you. “‘Not fair’ is getting into the general class, only to see someone just like me being praised for their power in the hero course. ‘Not fair’ is working as hard as I can to make my dreams come true, only to find out that I still have to compete against you. ‘Not fair’ is wanting to so desperately hate you for it all, but I can’t. Not when I see your strength, your power, your drive and ambition, and I can’t help but admire it. Admire you.” He let out a soft snort of mock amusement to himself. “I do kind of hate you for that, though.”
You stood there in silence. What do I even say to that? Shinsou watched you warily, waiting for a reaction.
“I don’t hate you, not really,” You said slowly. As good a place to start as any. “Resented you, yes, but hate is a strong word.” As you continued talking, your mouth let more and more words spill out, words you didn’t even know you had wanted to say. “And yeah, I was worried that you’d ‘take my spot’ or whatever, but I think that was the competitive nature of this school getting to me. They support friendly competition between students, but maybe I took that too much to heart.” You toed at the ground, slowly looking up to meet his eyes. “I was worried about you joining our class because I think you have amazing control over your quirk and you’re really talented. You really do have the potential to be an incredible hero. And I think… I’d like it better if we were friends, instead of pitting ourselves against each other.”
As you waited for Shinsou’s response, you started to get antsy. Why do I care so much about what he’s going to say?
Finally he answered. “Alright. Friends is a good place to start.” He held his hand out to you, as if to shake on it. Hesitatingly you reached out, your fingers firmly grasping his. He tightened his grip. “Should we also acknowledge that you said I was hot in your text?”
His words brought on a wave of nerves, and you yanked your hand back as if it were on fire. “That- That was a typo!” He began walking back towards the dorms with you hurrying to catch up to him.
As you matched his stride, he huffed out a laugh and sent you a knowing smile. “Sure, whatever you say.”
