NEW SETS: Weak Hero Character Name Meanings (Korean) ~ LITERAL & METAPHORICAL ~ Part 1
I was in a bit of a somber mood after the ending so I made yet another set of character name meanings (Korean). If you notice the differences from my previous edits it's because I had since learned a little bit more about naming culture in China, Japan, and Korea. Enjoy!

Fantasy Names For Dummies
@fanntasy131 (You said you wanted it)
So... Y'all liked My Map Making For Dummies Post. Here I go again! I will Showcase Methods that work for me on each category,
1. Character 1st and Last names
2. Places (Rivers, canyons, mountains, cities, ect.)
3. Continents
4. Languages
Let's begin! So you want to know how to do Character names? Well you're in luck, because I have a few methods for you!
Method one: Keyboard smash like this - cehbfwgfveukshvg Then you will want to refine it a little to make it more pronounceable, examples include - cehfveukshvg or Ehbfwgveuk Next, you'll want to determine whether you want a long name or short names. For Long names use your keyboard smash and make it fully pronounceable (You can scramble the letters around if needed) - Ebveukhe (Eb-vey-youk-hey) For short names you'll just want to segment the keyboard smash and then refine those if you can't pronounce those - [Cehf Veuk shvg] turns into [Seph or Ceph] [Veuk or Veyuk] [Shyg or Shiveg]
Method two: Use a Fantasy name generator and smoosh names together until it sounds good. Examples Include - Bane, Soren, Redcap, Driscoll You'll want to take syllables and smoosh - [Barenso or Sorane] and [Redcoll or Drissca]
Method three: Modify existing names For example - Victor, Savannah, Sky Next you'll need to take your favorite syllables, sounds, or letters from each name - Vi, ah, Sk Play around with adding Vowels - Viahsk = Viask or Viohsik Continue modifying until you like the sound of it - Viask = Viasaki (A name of one of my characters)
For last names use one of these methods, or smoosh two words together like Silverthorne
Places: In nature
If you need places in nature, you can do Method one from above, or you can use this method: Take the describing words for the location and then what it is at the end - Big, deep, wide, water, scary, Ravine Then take letters from those words and shuffle them around - I, dep, ie, at, s, Ravine Now Moosh - Idepieats Ravine Edit it until you like - Idepiat Ravine
Places: Cities, buildings, ect.
If you need cities or buildings you can use any of the above methods, or this.
Specifically, Taverns in media and Irl usually have kind of weird names. For example: The Leaky Cauldron or Three broomsticks in Harry Potter If you want something like that, you just take an adjective - Wild, bright, golden Then take a noun, usually a thing or animal - Dragon, brush, dove Combine - Wild Dragon, Bright brush, Golden Dove (Golden Dove is an inn in my book)
You can use these combos for lots of restaurants, inns, stables, ect.
Languages: NO TIPS USE VULGERLANG! BY GOD IS IT HELPFUL - Use youtube to find how it works

Character Name Analysis Time!
And would ya look at that, onto the last dorm.
Diasomnia
First up
Malleus Draconia
Tumblr media
Okay, so his first name appears to be similar enough to Maleficent. Which could be why they went with the name..... Because well.... okay, here's the meaning of the name:
Tumblr media
Also, It's latin for hammer, or mallet!
This bone within the ear looks like a hammer a little bit, so that's why it's called the malleus.
Tumblr media
For the last name (Draconia) the closest this word is to would be the word draconian. Which doesn't have a nice meaning. "Harsh and severe laws"
Which, now that I'm thinking about it, that's what most people (in story) tend to think he'd be like as a person. Harsh, severe, easily angered. Which of course is a contrast to how he actually is. Not that he doesn't get annoyed or angered, but it can get blown out of proportion. At any rate, the Draco part of his name is also from Latin and means dragon. So yeah, rework it a bit and you get, Draconia!
Silver
Tumblr media
Alright, so it looks like we have just the one name here to work with. But seeing as how I don't think I need to elaborate on what the word Silver means.... I think I will instead do this name analysis a little differently. Possibly named for his hair colour. I mean yeah, looking at him it's pretty easy to make that connection. Also, people believe him to be based off of the sword that originally struck Maleficent. (He also seems to have traits based off of Aurora as well.)
Anyone who has more information on the diasomnia characters from chapter seven please don't comment them. No spoilers please.
Let's move onto Sebek Zigvolt
Tumblr media
Sebek is actually the name of an Egyptian crocodile God. Alternate spelling would be Sobek.
His last name seems to be more of a combination of sorts. At least, we're able to split the name up at any rate. So the "zig" part of the name means a change in direction as in "zig-zag" Zig-zag...... reminds me of how zigzags are often how lightning bolts are depicted in some art. "Volt" is a unit of electomotive force. Yeah, I'd say the name suits him. He is believed to be at least partially based off of maleficents lighting powers.
Now for the one the only,
Lilia Vanrouge
Tumblr media
Alright, so everything I'm finding about the first name links it to the word lilium. Which means lily in latin. A flower that often holds as a symbol for purity; innocence.
As for the last name, the "van" part kind of reminds me of a prefix that goes before a name. Though his name doesn't have a space in it (van rouge), sometimes a prefix before a name ends up lumped together. So you get "vanrouge" all as one name. Van could be Dutch meaning "from." And then Rouge means red in French. Honestly his name just sounds cool.
Well, that's it for this name analysis.
We have finished all of the dorms. (Not including ramshackle) And I think it's time that some of my thoughts on ramshackle come to light. Well, until next time!

Symbolism behind Angel's name
This could be the product of me overthinking but hear me out :
Arthur Auguste Angel has some VERY interesting symbolisms behind his name I just noticed.
Arthur - his first name , the name at the front. It can mean multible things , Arthur is a traditionally masculine name with many different language roots and meanings. Its Scots/Celtic root is "artos," meaning "bear," and Arthur is said to mean "strong as a bear" in Welsh, the name specifically means "bear hero." Arthur also draws from the Roman clan name Artorius, which means noble or courageous. Those qualities are what Arthur wants and should represent, it's what he views himself at. A noble and courageous hero, it's what he's led to believe and what his role as paladin should be. It's the loudest and most important layer of his identity and thus at the front of it all.
Auguste - his middle name , the name right after the most important one. It stays behind his first name and is far less important. The name has the meaning of (among others) "A kind of clown, usually serving as an anarchic foil to the whiteface" the part I focus on here is where it says it's a kind of clown. A clown is someone whose sole purpose is to amuse others, what does Arthur want to do ? Please the Vatican and the Uzais. Pleasing and amusing can be closely related and especially with Arthur's way of talking of himself like some sort of holy figure he can come off as strange- maybe even like a clown. Auguste is also the female version of the name Augustus, usually it wouldn't be given to a boy. It hints at the fact that Arthur , as a clone, normally wouldn't have been given a middle name. It doesn't fit him as good as other's names fit them since originally he wasn't supposed to have it- he was supposed to have a number and nickname maybe, but never a name.
Angel - his last name, something serving to identify him just like his first name, equally if not more important than the front. Angels are portrayed as messengers of god and shown in an utterly holy light. We already know that Arthur wants to be pervieved and percieves himself as something similar to an angel, something holy and pure. This whole deal about his rightousness is one of his key identifying features. Yet there are also interpretations that say that Angels don't have free will and are bound to serve and abide only gods will, and doesn't fit him that too ? Arthur didn't really choose to become what he is , he didn't choose to become an exorcist. After section 13 and the Blue Night happened Arthur lost his memories and was send to be raised and trained by the Uzais. Sure, they told Arthur that he wanted to be an exorcist- but in the end he never got to make the choice himself. Same goes with even forming his own opinion ! Not only was he manipulated his entier life , the past he forgot due to his amnesia was kept from him ! Who knows if Arthur would've grown up to be as loyal to the Vatican as he is if he remembered the years of cruel experiments that were performed on him and the other clones in Section 13. In the end Arthur is bound by the Vatican's will , and he doesn't even know it any better.
Thanks for reading my little analysis ^^ the underlined parts weren't written by me but instead copypasted from websites explaining the meaning. If you want to read the original source just click on the underlined parts and it'll take you to the source. English isn't my first language so I apologize for any mistakes I could've made.

Glass Onion Spoilers - Foreshadowing and Among Us
I’ve seen a few posts dunking on glass onion for being “cringe” because of the Among Us scene and a few praising it for accurately reflecting the fact that this is all everyone was playing in 2020, but I haven’t seen anyone really talk about how brilliantly Among Us works as a foreshadowing/storytelling device.
On the surface - as the film itself points out! - the game is a neat little parallel of the island: one murderer hidden among us, with the objective being to find them out. But this comparison goes far deeper than the basic premise of the film.
Firstly, Benoit appears as the game’s imposter, and then, it is later revealed, is literally an imposter, arriving on the island uninvited under false pretences - one of the first major twists of the film spelled out to the audience in the opening act. And he isn’t alone - just as two imposters generally work together to deceive the other players, so Benoit and Helen work together to infiltrate the group. BUT, and this is the bit that really drives me wild, the endgame format of Among Us perfectly reflects the endgame of the film. The way to win Among Us isn’t necessarily a case of killing everyone or surviving every round - the way to win is by convincing your fellow players to believe you, and to vote accordingly.
During the trial Andi loses because the imposter - the billionaire impersonating a genius - convinces the other players that she should be voted out; she is as effectively thrown out of the airlock as she is the business, and then literally killed to protect the [fortune of] the “crew.”
But, Andi was not the imposter, and so the game continues.
The imposter kills again, and when Miles confesses to causing the lights to go out, this is another excellent hint - only the imposter can sabotage the lights!
Then, with all the characters assembled much like an “Emergency Meeting,” we reach the climax of the film: Miles burns the napkin evidence, and immediately the ensemble is back to the voting booth as Helen, like her sister, fights for the players’ support in voting out the imposter. Any Among Us player will recognise the infuriating feeling when you literally just saw them vent for the love of god you were all there vote them OFF- and that frustration - of speaking the truth and not being believed - is evident in this scene.
But these players don’t care about the truth; they care about surviving (ie staying rich), and so they will vote off an innocent person to placate the shark. Which is absolutely not how you win the game.
Then, then, the game’s final round: the imposter has lost his tools, is revealed for the useless fraud he is, and it’s when he has nothing left to offer the other players that one more vote is held - the characters literally raise their hands as they pledge their support to Helen, in part to give the appearance of swearing in upon the witness stand, but also in part to give the visual of a literal vote... such as that of an Among Us emergency meeting vote.
Tumblr media
And it’s when Miles is finally, rightfully ejected that at last, the game is won.
Among Us is a game of social engineering, of lying and convincing others of your lies to prolong your survival, deception, and the malleability of truth. Presenting this game in the opening of the film is more than a gimmick or scene-setter: it illustrates the social structures at the heart of the story.
TLDR: Among Us foreshadows the film’s premise, but also plot twists, character choices, and significantly the film’s resolution by way of group vote.

something new about aziraphale that i’m getting emotional over on this fine night (no one is shocked): i cannot stop thinking about the first scene of season 2. specifically i cannot stop thinking about the fact that even then, in a moment where both he and crowley even looked younger due to their innocence / lack of doubt or questioning just yet, aziraphale is already doing somersaults to worry for those around him. he doesn’t even KNOW this angel, and the idea that crowley could get in trouble for asking questions shouldn’t occur to him yet, but he’s still so burdened by anxieties and doubts for other peoples’ well-being and conditioned to protect others at his own expense (not to mention eerily close to seeing through Heaven for what it is). aziraphale is so fundamentally good, worrying about other people and caring about them before the very idea that bad things could happen to a fellow angel SHOULD have ever crossed his mind in the first place. and to me that disproves all notions that aziraphale is naive, because he’s been tragically aware since before the Beginning— and before crowley. which makes moments like the post-Job “what does that make me” scene even sadder because by all accounts, if aziraphale was familiar with what it’s like to doubt and worry before the Fall even happened, before he ever should have known what those things were, then he should have been one of the angels to fall, right? Wondering and doubting and worrying about things leads to a Fall, right? Only he didn’t. In a world in which there’s a line dividing doubtless, brainwashed, “happy” angels from doubtful, too-curious-for-their-own-good demons, aziraphale might just be the loneliest being in existence. he’s quite literally the sole person (that we know of) who stayed an angel but is forced to carry a burden that never should have been his, that NOBODY around him in Heaven has to carry. and he can’t ask about it because now he knows for sure where asking questions leads you, but he probably doesn’t understand why he has to carry that burden in the first place. the one he’s been carrying it since before Earth was even created.

A thought:
If it weren't for the TVA mess, Mobius would be... such a normal guy. Not only that, but a rather silly one.
Just... think about it.
He looks like a normal guy, and doesn't try to compensate that with extravagant clothes. He is genuinely a nice person who looks like he'd own a bunch of dogs, or at least feed strays. He has a random hyperfixation that no one else around him cares about. He likes key lime pie. He makes knock knock jokes. And if it weren't for being a TVA agent, he doesn't look like he'd have any kind of extraordinary skill.
And we ship him with a norse god who has a bunch of powers? Who's been through so much shit?? Who has killed people???
And sure, it's hillarious, but it also has the potential to be so fucking sweet.
Because Loki has spent most of his life unable to find peace, always trying to prove himself, to get out of Thor's shadow. Then, coming to terms with being a frost giant. And then, the New York thing.
And after all that, he gets to interact with a guy who, despite working for an organization like the TVA and being able to be intimidating when needed, somehow still manages to have such a comforting aura. A guy who makes stupid knock knock jokes in the midle of a serious interrogation and infodumps about jetskis, and who, most importantly, treats him like a normal person, even after studying his life and seeing all that he has done, and all that he's capable of.
And it's so clear that Loki appreciates it. He smiles at the joke in the interrogation scene. When Mobius is excited to finnaly experience some (very simple and mundane) things outside of the TVA while they search for Sylvie in season 2, Loki goes along with what he wants and humors him.
Loki is a god, who is used to being surrounded by other gods. He could so easily just see Mobius as less for being a human and a fairly normal guy with such dumb little quirks, but he clearly values him so much (both his company and him as a person), and sees him as a complex individual that's worth respecting/caring for, and I think that's amazing and an extra reason to enjoy their relationship.

Okay here’s the thing I’m really annoyed about concerning Tim Drake:
He didn’t remain CEO in more than name. He let Lucius take care of everything he just used the position to create his Neon Knights initiative. He isn’t running WE. He is however running NK. He’s traveling around the world setting up NK locations in cities with lots of at risk youth. He’s not running a Fortune 500 company he’s running a non-profit charity organization dedicated to protecting kids and getting more people on a stable path earlier in life. He isn’t out here dealing with rich, white, assholes so he can make money for himself! He’s doing it to better the world, he’s doing it for education and a safe environment for kids around the world! And he is facing a lot of resistance from the rest of the rich and powerful. He is endearing himself to no one in the business world because his ultimate goal is to dethrone them all by fixing the wage gap. He wants people to have choices so the rich and powerful can’t exploit them as easily.
Tim Drake is not a business man. He has the skills, the ruthlessness and the determination but not the desire. He uses his status and money to help people in need. And it’s a more realistic way of helping the world. You can’t just throw money at problems and expect them to go away. Donating money doesn’t help nearly as much as using money to create systems that help people get the skills and opportunities they need. It takes dedicated work and meticulous oversight and it’s not something that can be done casually. It’s a commitment, not a hobby. The world is to fucked up for any easy fixes. But Neon Knights is a great idea, a long term solution if done correctly. I’ve always thought that fixing education and making sure everyone has equal opportunity from a young age would fix a lot of the issues in the world. More educated people making smarter decisions, more diversity because everyone’s success in entirely merit based. Anyway I’m getting off track. Point is, Tim isn’t some business man with charitable contributions here and there. He’s dedicated his civilian life to the long term benefit of society. He’s not a slacker or a full time vigilante. He’s out there building an entirely new system, a global network of people and locations dedicated solely to helping kids have better futures.

i just noticed this really cool thing in the s2 intro of the owl house.
Tumblr media
it shows lilith in this almost power like stance as if she's threatening someone it shows her as this basically enraged undefeatable foe and it shows her like shes a threat. she gives you the impression that she would never ask for mercy of any sort.
with hunter is shows him as the golden guard with his staff in hand and with his mask it demands power and respect it. it feels like your stereotypical warden who does a shit tone of bad stuff
then with kikimora she looks innocent and playful holding her cloth up to cover her mouth almost like a child would.
Tumblr media
then with lilith when it turns it shows that what we saw before was basically just a facade. her hands are switched and shes looking down as if she's begging for either forgiveness or mercy. its almost like she's doing the action that's switched between frames
then with hunter his staff is gone and he's taking off the mask. both of which belos gave him to reassemble his power and his importance. yet its not here showing us that whatever we thought of this impenetrable warden that we saw before isn't true. once again it seems like he's doing this motion just like lilith
then with kikimora we see her crazed which honestly is just her whole buildup in the show which is pretty cool but she also looks angry. once again this seems to be done in one motion showing us that yknow 'theres more to them than we think'. as we get more of kikomoras insane devotion throughout the show (up until the part where she helps king) and i think this is supposed to show us that.
then we get belos scooping them up in his hand as if showing that he has power over them and that theyre his. he has control over them into doing basically whatever he wants

Today only from a card carrying member of the Castis Vakarian Appreciation Squad, a refresher on canon since there's a not-zero number of people in 2024 who seem blissfully unaware of how much we know about this man in canon (including andromeda yes the game is canon go cry about it).
He's a cop. Yes Castis works for C-Sec, implied within the same unit/building as Garrus and to the contrary of his son, is implied to be both good at his job and well-regarded for it. (This will be important for later points try to remember it.)
He has alien friends. Castis is canonically one of Alec Ryder's best friends. They're good enough friends that he passes on rumours/heresay about the Reapers to him and reminisces about spending time with him on the Citadel. Any turian old enough to have been an adult during the FCW and who has human friends as of canon prolly isn't a miserable old xenophobe. Whilst no, working at C-Sec doesn't exclude him from having shitty thoughts about Krogan and Quarians, it's a fairly good sign he's not anti-alien on the whole if he'll befriend a human.
He's got a personality. How dare minor characters have those! But more seriously, acting as if Castis is portrayed as nothing but a rule-worshipping automaton is doing him a disservice. If nothing else, his willingness to befriend and hang out with Alec, who's very much of the opinion that rules are guidelines to be circumvented when at all possible, shows that he's capable of nuance and maybe even a dash of line-pushing of his own accord. Maybe he's comfortable within the system and trusts law and order as set out legally above all else but c'mon guys, you don't hang out with a guy who goes on to break AI law and get dishonourably discharged (and then remain friends with him after that when it's made damned clear few others do) without being able to see shades of grey.
He trusts his son. This one I suspect may be more contentious BUT let's be honest here, Garrus isn't an easy person to be around. We hear about the pair of them clashing on the job and within their personal lives about the spectres but here's the thing: Garrus winds up on a secretive mission with a human and xenophobic terrorist group, after running off to a lawless hellscape to play batman. He remains distant until done working with Cererbus and then returns home with a crazy tale about a dead human spectre, genocidal robots from the year dot and half his face missing. Castis not only believes him but does so willingly enough that he does everything he can to help him get the news to the right people, just in case he's right. Equally, whilst we don't have an exact date for when the call with Alec occurs, it's post-start of ME1 at the very least and within that he's already willing to take what Garrus is saying Shepard says at face value. Within that call, it's made patently obvious that no matter what, he still trusts Garrus on some level and is proud of him on top of that trust.
He cares deeply for the people around him. Perhaps this one's linked with 3 but whatever, my post, my rules; in the comics, the picture we're painted by (unreliable narrator) Garrus is that of a driven, cold man who doesn't care enough about his own family. This is why he doesn't come home when Mama Vakarian gets hurt, we're told, and we're expected to take that as face value even when she herself says that by the time he can get away from work and be back there, she'll be mostly healed. Kinda contrasted by the fact that he seemingly retires/takes time off from C-Sec to be with his wife when she's dying. Now, the details are kinda fuzzy on the whys and hows but during ME3, he and Solana escape Palaven together. Maybe the war's going poorly enough that they're able to finagle staying together through the draft, maybe they come across one another purely by luck, we don't know. Either way, rather than attempt to get back to the Citadel and to where he presumably still had a job and/or was needed, he sticks with his daughter. Can't do anything more to help his son but he's gonna stick with at least one of his kids to make sure she survives. As well as all this, the "do things properly or don't do them at all" lesson Garrus struggles with from him is (gasp) not bad advice for their situation. He's trying to teach his son important life skills and whilst there's no denying he's going about it wrong, a key point is in fact that Garrus learns to master the gun he's struggling to fire and it in fact becomes one of his specialities! He becomes an exceptionally good marksman! The lesson fucking worked! He still, regardless of the reasons for it, seems to support and be content with Garrus not fulfilling his mandatory 15 but instead joining C-Sec and (worse still) doesn't have too much of an issue with him consorting with Spectres. Perhaps he's not best pleased but he definitely comes to accept that that's how things are irrespective of his own feelings about them as either a concept or as people (his belief that Garrus being a spectre would be a terrible no good very bad idea is, in fact, backed up by canon as being entirely correct too).
Conclusion/TL:DR. Take a lesson from Castis Vakarian himself here, either write about this man properly or don't write him at all, I'm begging y'all. There's an awful lot more to this character if you think about him and put together the information canon gives us on him, so do so.

Character Name Analysis Time
And today, we are doing
Pomefiore
First up
Vil Schoenheit
Tumblr media
For the first name Vil.
Well, conveniently it's not very hard to see it being a short form of the word 'villain or evil'. (Like the evil queen) perhaps this could be where the name comes from. I did also find this though.
Tumblr media
It looks like that is from a wiki page. Just take it with a grain of salt. Still interesting though.
These posts are just for fun anyway. Now his last name however has a definite meaning. It's German for beauty. Well no surprise there.
Okay next victim!

Ah yes, our little apple. Quite so in fact. That is exactly what his name means. In hind sight I should have realized that sooner.... Epel-apple. Sounds so similar. Eple is how you would spell the word in Norwegian. So rework it a bit and you get Epel.
For his last name Felmier. It seems it's supposed to mean farmer. The French word fermière means farmer. Pretty similar in spelling.
Okay now onto
Rook Hunt

I'm not going to explain his last name....
However his first name is of some interest. It's a type of crow ^_^
A Eurasian crow to be exact!

Kind of cool actually. How he's not only representing the huntsman, but also the queens bird. As a side note, he and the original huntsman go to the same hairdresser.
