Could you possibly write a angsty thing for Peter Parker ?
I dunno I feel like reader may something a little rude/hurtful while they’re in a bad mood and Peter just isn’t having it.
i haven't written for peter in ages!!
peter parker x fem!reader, 0.46k words, (lot of angst at the start but fluff at the end because I'm a sucker for hurt/comfort)
"Peter," you whined, waving your hand in front of his phone. He looked up, gaze imploring.
"Yes, sweetheart?" he asked, his voice slightly exasperated.
You turned back around again. "Who are you texting? It's like you never want to talk to me anymore."
Peter paused, then pulled you to face him. He had a concerned crease between his eyebrows and the frown on his face made you want to sob because you put it there. "It's just Gwen, baby. She's asking if we want to go out tomorrow with her."
You rolled your eyes. "She doesn't want me there," you said under your breath, "she wants to hang out with you, Pete."
At this, he started to get annoyed. "Well, it doesn't matter, because I want to hang out with you."
You laughed humourlessly. "God, Peter, just tell me if you're cheating on me! Don't put me through this shit."
Peter looked like he was about to flip the coffee table over, his expression twisting into something ugly. "Why would you even think that? I'm not cheating on you, babe."
Tears swelled in your eyes as he continued. "Why can't I have Gwen as a friend? She was the only friend I had before I met you. I think you're just insecure," he spat out, his anger palpable.
He turned around to face you and his entire demeanour softened at the panicked look on your face. When he moved to touch you, you flinched away and curled up in a ball, tears falling down your pale cheeks. "Shit, honey," he murmured, his voice much gentler than it had been before. "I'm so sorry, baby. I didn't mean it, alright?"
Peter moved cautiously towards your shivering frame. "Hey. Can I touch you? Please?"
You looked up at him, his arms outstretched and waiting. Taking your chance, you fell into him, clawing at his shirt and letting out sobs that had been trapped inside for ages. "Shhh," he cooed softly, "I'm sorry. You're okay, lovely."
He stroked your back, a gentle, soothing touch that had you leaning into him despite the vile comments that had been spewing out of your mouths just a second ago. "I'm sorry," you whispered.
Peter kissed your neck. "You don't gotta be sorry, (Y/N). I'm sorry. I should have made it more clear."
At this, you pulled yourself away from his hold. "What do you mean?"
"You should know that you're the only girl I want, sweetheart. No one else. If I haven't made you feel that way, then I'm in the wrong."
The corner of your lips turned upwards. "I'm the only girl you want?"
Peter laughed, then pulled you back into his chest. "I definitely need to work on that." He paused. "But yes. You're the only girl I want."

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE COULD YOU DO A HOBIE X READER!!!
So reader has been noticing that hobie keeps talking about Gwen a lot, as well as hanging out with her, and she’s starting to compare her self to Gwen A LOT. Reader is getting shitty with the jealousy issues (BODY COMPARISON) and with how much Hobie and Gwen are hanging out unannounced. Gwen has started staying overnight with reader knowing, etc. and one night hobie catches them having a breakdown which starts an arguement, BUT IT ENDS IN FLUFF OLEASEHDJDJ
THANK YOU AND YOUVE BEEN MY FAVOURITE WRITER FOR A WHILEEE
I love this request!!! And thank you so much😘💖💖
Hobie Brown x Plus Size reader
It’s all about you Babe
Y/n and Hobie have been dating almost since y/n’s first day at spider society. You were recruited after becoming the dancing spider. Y/n was a trained dancer and has always had to deal with people’s shit about her being a plus size dancer and “how much better she could be if she lost weight”, but when she has the mask on its different. She could be herself and people saw her for more than her body. She is such a girly girl too. When Hobie saw her walking around spider society in her pink spider suit and pointe shoes, he was entranced with her and her curves, he was almost under a spell. He couldn’t help but approach her.
“Haven’t seen you ‘round here love”, he walks up next to her like he knows her or something. You look to see his tall, lanky frame next to yours and giggle “No, I suppose not. It’s my first day.” You see how attractive he is and you suck in your stomach. You’re used to attractive guys in your universe being sick heads. He notices and furrows his brows. “What’s that about, you sick or something lovey” you had to admit these names he was calling you were making you feel quite comfortable. His bluntness almost embarrassed you as you tried to think of an excuse, you had been caught. He wasn’t blind, he could tell you are chubby and he knows how society is. He gave you a soft look to let you know it’s okay. This helps you decide to be honest. “Well, I guess I didn’t want to give you a reason not to like me, it didn’t help much though, I’m still huge” you shrug your shoulders like it’s common knowledge. Hobie grabs your chin to look up at him. “Hey, there’s nothing wrong with being bigger lovey. Between you and me and anyone else who wants to know I love curves. Plus, I heard your quite the badass and being a dancer and inspiring younger plus size girls to dance. That’s being a hero in its self sweetheart”, he pulls you into a passionate kiss after that. The rest was history. He introduced you to his friends, one of them being Gwen Stacy. She is a dancer just like you, super kind, and she’s a drummer. “She’s super cool”, you think to yourself. Unlike you, she is skinny and you notice how excited Hobie is for you two to meet. “You two’ll be great friends”, Hobie smiles.
It’s about two weeks until your birthday and you notice a sudden extra closeness in Gwen and Hobie. Gwen had become one of your best friends but it seems as if she’s been almost avoidant of you lately. She normally stays the night with you and Hobie on the weekends because she’s friends with both of you and you all have a great time. She comes over this weekend and you notice her and Hobie talking more than they are acknowledging you. Whenever you would enter a room, they would find some lame excuse to leave. This really hurt you. As you’ve gotten older and you’ve been with Hobie, you’ve slowly gotten over your insecurities of being “the fat girl”, or you thought until this started. “Obviously Gwen is just like me plus she’s skinny and more punk, maybe Hobie wants something new, someone who isn’t huge and disgusting like me. He probably just doesn’t have the heart to tell me”, you think to yourself and start poking at your body in the bathroom mirror. You breakdown in tears. You hear footsteps from down the hall and try to quiet your sobs.
“Ya alright in there love?” Hobie knocks on the door.
You try your best to sound like you’re not trying but your voice breaks when you speak, “I’m fine”
“No you’re not, imma coming in”
Before you can do anything Hobie opens the door to see you crying in the bathroom floor wearing only shorts and your bra. You’re shaking from crying and how cold you are.
“What’s got ya in here crying for?” Hobie looked concerned
“ I know you don’t want me anymore, I’ll leave so you can be with Gwen”, as you said this, it all clicked for him. At first, he was upset. Why would you think he would do that to you? Did you really think that low of him? Then he thought to himself. He knew you and he knew you had struggled with body image in the past. He knew how your grandma had body shamed you since you were 5 years old. Starting an argument would just upset you more and wouldn’t accomplish anything. Hobie decided the best way to help you is to talk it out instead of getting angry. He knew this wasn’t your fault.
“Baby no. I only want you. I know you get in your head. I know what this is all about..” he grabs your chin so you’re looking him dead in the eyes, “you’re it for me. If you want to know the truth, I’ve been hanging out with Gwen so much because I wanted to plan you the best birthday ever so I can show you what you mean to me”. He grabs your hand and helps you stand up so your infront of him. He hugs you from behind as you’re both facing the mirror and he’s resting his chin on your head. “Look in that mirror baby. What do you see?” He asks you.
“Us and myself. I see my stomach poking out too much and I see you looking fucking hot”you say.
Hobie chuckled at the last bit but then his face turned serious. “You know what I see?” He kisses the top of your head. “I see my future, and you better know that means I love you because I’m not consistent for shit” he spins you around to face him. “I want you to know something babes, every flaw you see, is another reason why I love you. You’re perfect to me. I for one love your curves. Gives me more to love, more to hold, more to cherish.” He gets you to stop crying as his lips crash to yours and you all move to the bed ;)
P.S. I hope you enjoyed this. I’m sorry I’m not good at writing arguments

Chapter 1
Everybody was looking at you. You were sure of it. As you walked to your locker monday morning, you started feeling dizzy as you felt several eyes full of pity focusing on you. You hated it. If it wasn’t for the english test in the second period, you would’ve already faked a disease in order to go home.
Headphones playing “skinny dipping” by Sabrina Carpenter in your ears, you finally reached your locker. Usually Jessica would be waiting for you there, so you could walk to class together. Even though you loved her with your whole heart, you felt relieved. She knew you too well and although she would absolutely give you time and space if you needed it, you wouldn’t be able to pretend you were fine. Not with her.
Books in hand, you closed your locker and started walking toward history class. The hallways were almost empty at this point, which you were almost grateful for. The feeling went away instantly when you got closer to the classroom. You froze. Harry was leaning his back on the wall next to the door, looking at the screen of his phone, his other hand holding a box of chocolates.
As if sensing your presence, he looked up, his expression going from indifference to something that tried to be, but wasn’t quite sorrow. You wanted to disappear. You knew you would run into your ex some time during the day, but not so soon, he was always late to class. Always.
He took a few steps and got closer to you and said your name. It was like everything was happening in slow motion, you felt a jolt in your heart until the events of saturday started coming back to you.
***
There was a party at Peter B.’s house. His aunt and uncle won a vacation to Miami in a radio contest and would be out of town for a week. You knew it because Peter told you himself when he invited you and Harry. Peter was nice and funny and you wished he and Harry were as close as they used to be. They were childhood friends, but when high school came around, Harry started walking with a different crowd and eventually Peter made new friends of his own.
Still, Peter B. never stopped trying to keep in touch with Harry, even if the effort was one sided. You felt so bad when Harry seemed uninterested in Peter’s stories or completely ignored his friend. When you started noticing that, you tried to compensate for your ex’s behavior, going out of your way to be kind and pay attention to Peter.
Which was not hard at all, the kid had a heart of gold. He was one of the few who could circulate between all groups at school and have friends in all of them, from Mary Jane Watson in the theater department to kids like Miles Morales and Miguel O’Hara, who he was always with.
It was your niece’s 3rd birthday on saturday night, so Harry went to Peter’s by himself and you were supposed to meet him later. Except, when you got there, everything was pure chaos. You took your phone out of your purse to text Harry and Jess, realizing it had been in airplane mode for some reason. Once you deactivated it, several notifications popped up, from texts to social media tags. Feeling uneasy, you searched for your chat with Harry first. Nothing new since you texted him a few hours before. You then clicked on Jessica’s avatar.
J: I’m here babe let me know when you arrive
J: where r u??
J: come already that chick gwen is gonna dj soon
she is always goooood
J: call me when you can
J: pick uppp please
J: u still at home? don’t think it’s a good idea for u to come here
You: i’m here
You: jess whats happened
You: people are looking at me funny
J: meet me in the kitchen
“Harry was making out with a random girl”, Jess told you, holding your hands on hers. “He didn’t even try to hide it, they were in the garden, a lot of people saw them.”
You open your mouth, but the words failed to come out. Just an hour before you were trying on outfits, trying to decide which one your boyfriend would like more on you, and then this. Jess held your hands tighter.
“I’m so sorry, honey”, she said. “You deserve so much better than this…”
The two of you turned your heads, there were sounds of screams and things falling and breaking.
“No no no no no, please stop, guys, please”, you heard Peter B. pleading. Your heart tugged at his desperation.
People were joining the crowd, you and Jess followed. “What’s going on?”, she asked a guy next to them. “I think Osborn harassed the guy’s girlfriend or something”, he answered.
Standing on the tip of your toes, you saw Harry stumbling, clearly drunk or high, probably both, trying not to fall. “Fuck you, man, who do you think you are?”, he screamed at someone.
When you look at the other side, you couldn’t believe it. Of all people to fight with, Harry just had to mess with Miguel O’Hara, arguably the strongest guy from school. You met him in middle school and have taken several classes with him since. Miguel was known for keeping it to himself, but managed to have some close friends, like Gwen Stacy, Hobie Brown and Peter himself. He wasn’t anything like Harry and the other rich kids. Miguel would wear hoodies and basketball shirts, he was disorganized, always borrowing your pens during class, and every now and then would get in trouble.
But fighting? It didn’t seem like his thing, in spite of his size and strength. He was staring at Harry, looking more serious than ever.
“Huh? You think you are all that, motherfucker?”, Harry continued.
“Oh, honey”, Jess looked at you, worried. Her hand wiped away a few tears from your face. You didn’t even realize you were crying. Since you arrived at that house, your life turned into a nightmare sequence. “That’s it, we’re leaving.”
As she put her arm around your shoulders, the same guy who told Jess what the fight was about screamed: “Yo, Osborn, you coward! Making your girl cry!”.
More sounds from the crowd, your head spinning, heart breaking, you were feeling the tears now, they brought sobs too, how was that your life, why couldn’t you just wake up. Your eyes looked for Harry, he was steady, going in Miguel's direction. You looked at the latter. He was looking at you. His brown eyes wide, a crease on his forehead, mouth half parted. Somewhere in your head, you wondered if Harry had been able to hit him before you and Jess arrived. He looked like he was in a lot of pain.
Then a fist hit his face. Harry’s fist.
Peter, Hobie and a couple of other guys held Harry, and the crowd started screaming, Jess pulled you back to the kitchen, in the direction of the back door entrance.
You heard the music stopping and a voice, who sounded like Miles, on the microphone. “The party is over! Time to leave”, he said. People started booing him. “Y’all know my dad is a cop, right? Let’s give him a call, shall we?”
***
Harry got closer to you. Suddenly, his hand was on your cheek.
“Honey…”, he whispered.
How could a gesture you used to love trigger the alarms in your head? Instinctively, you took a step back.
“Harry.”
“No, hun, come on…”
“Harry.”
“Is this about the fight? If it is, you should k…”
“Harry, just listen, ok?”, you had planned so many scenarios in your head, yet, this was just coming to you naturally. “I know you cheated on me with a freshman.”
“Who told you that? It’s a bunch of l…”
“Jessica saw it. So many people saw it. Strangers were sending me pictures and videos of my boyfriend with someone else.”
“Honey…It wasn’t like that, I wasn’t thinking…”
“So, if I’m not right by your side, it’s like I don’t exist, right? You can do whatever you want”, you took a long breath. You were really doing this: “It’s over”.
“What do you mean it’s over? You’re giving up, just like this?”
“You gave me up when you kissed someone”, you let a sad chuckle out. “Not to mention the fight…I just can’t.”
“So you’re really ending this?”
“Yes.”
“You know there is no turning back, right?”, Harry had his hands on his hips, which, knowing him, meant he was pissed off.
You nodded.
“Well, I hope you really thought this through because no one is going to accept dealing with all your bullshit like I do.”
“My bullshit?”, you gasped.
“Anxiety, depression, all that bullshit”, he pointed at you. “The whole good girl act…only I know what you are really like. No one is going to want you.”
You just looked at him. You felt sad, confused and so angry. Because, although you knew it was a provocation, he did mention your worst fears. Being too much, ending up alone, unloved — you had been there.
What Harry didn’t consider is that you might have your insecurities, but you are also competitive and have a lot of pride. If hurting is what he wants, two can play this game. So you just stare at him with your arms crossed.
“Ms, class has already started”, your history teacher, Mr. Bloom, opened the classroom’s door and called you. He must have sensed there was something wrong, you have always been an A+ student and a great kid. The truth is you didn’t even realize how much time had passed.
“Yes, sir”, you walked around Harry and entered the classroom.
***
You arrived right on time for english class. Entering the room after a few classmates, you noticed the teacher, Mrs. White, was standing up, talking quietly with a student. She had a motherly aura, like she is irritated, but worried most of all.
“I’m sorry, but if you don’t apply yourself and get better grades, I can’t help you”, she said.
“I just don’t get it”, the student said. “Numbers…they come so easy to me, words, not so much.”
“We’re going to figure this out. Now go sit.”
Already at your desk, you saw when he turned. Miguel O’Hara. His cheek was a little swollen with a purple mark, a small token of Harry’s actions. You looked at him, but he did not look back at you, staring ahead and sitting in the back.
Then it dawned on you. An idea. A very good one.

We were back in Forman's basement playing uno. I was swinging my leg that was over my thigh and saw Ozzie place all his cards down.
"Ozzie, boo that's not how you play. You're only supposed to drop one card." I frowned, confused as to what he was doing.
He looked at me with a slight glare on his face as I gulped.
"Excuse me?" I rolled my eyes at the boy and sighed.
"Cool basement." Gwen said as I sat down in a chair next to the light skinned girl.
"Yea man, it's dope." I agreed, I adjusted my sunglasses that were starting to fall when I tucked a piece of red hair in.
"It's a dump." I took a swig of my cola that was resting on the table.
"Ozzie man, manners." I hissed, but he just rolls his eyes at me.
"Ozzie and I met last year in detention. Tell her what you did." Gwen said, getting excited.
"Chill out bro, you're gonna burn a hole in that chair." She slapped my hand, and I just gasped dramatically at her.
"You didn't!" She just rolls her eyes at my dramaticness.
"I told my math teacher his wife was cheating on him. She was making out with some guy at IHOP." I laughed, I would always laugh whenever Ozzie would tell us this story as Leia looked over at me like I'm crazy.
"That's horrible." Leia said as I took another sip.
   "I know, IHOPE." He scoffed.
"She could have done it somewhere else. Why iHOP? The lamest date ever, man. You know, maybe the government had something to do with this man. I mean, my old man would tell me some shit about them." I said, as Leia gives me a weird look.
"What does the government have to do with ihop?" I just shrugged at Leia's question, not knowing the answer to her question.
   "I don't know, man." I laughed.
The door to the basement opened and revealed my boyfriend, Nikki, and Nate.
"Babe!" I jumped into his arms, my legs wrapping around his waist as he quickly caught me with a low grunt.
"Ugh, please don't make out. I think I might gag." I rolled my eyes, but I kissed him anyways.
"You will not believe what we found." Nate said he looked like a kid in a candy store.
"You found a keg?" I asked.
"Bro! You ruined the story, man!" I give him a fake pout as I dropped my feet back to the ground and ignored Nate's wines.
"You don't get excited like that unless it has something to do with beer. And like I said, if it's a story about how you found a keg, I'd like to hear how you, my dear friend, how you found it." I skipped towards the couch, with Jay's hand in mine as I made him sit first and plant myself on his lap.
"Now, tell me. How did you find this tap?" I pat my lap waiting for Nate to start his story.
"Because if this is just you telling us the story of you eating a McRib again, then I will be disappointed in you." I joked, as Nate looked at me with a scared look on his face.
"Hey man, I thought it was gone forever!" I rolled my eyes and picked at the chip black nail polish on my nails.
"Aw, you were scared, babe?" I groaned in annoyance, tilting my head back that was now resting on Jay's shoulder.
Jay pats my stomach as he laughed at my dramaticness.
"So awful to see those two." I leaned my face so my face was hiding in his neck away from their view.
"Can you tell your story now, man?" I asked, but not facing their view as my eyes were closed getting bored.
"So, we were just chilling in my van. Cassie was supposed to join us, but she ditched Jay for Gwen." I shrugged.
"Because I'm her favorite." Gwen piped in.
"Nu-huh, I am." Jay pouted, but I put my fingers through his hair and shook my head.
"Sorry, babe, but Gwen is my favorite." I give him a kiss on his pouted lips that turned into a smile.
"But at least you get kisses and other things." I whispered the other part that the others didn't hear.
"Why don't I get the front seat?" Nikki asked, I looked up at Nate and then back to Jay.
"Yea, Nate, why doesn't your girlfriend get the front seat?" I pressed.
"I called shotgun." I scoffed at Jay and quickly got off of his lap.
"So, if Nate called shotgun in your car, he'd get the front seat?" Jay gulped and looked at Gwen, but she just shrugged and had a smirk on her face.
"N-no?" He stuttered, I rolled my eyes at him, knowing that was a lie.
"He's my best friend Cas." Nate claimed, I ignored him, and I just sat back down in my regular lawn chair.
"You get no cuddles nor kisses for a week." Jay continued to protest, but I ignored him as Leia looked at me.
"Wow." Leia said as I looked at her with scrunched eyebrows.
"How do you do that? That was so brave." I snorted at the blonde girl.
"Everyone is scared of her." Leia looked at me with a confused look on her face.
"But you're so nice! How could you be scary?" I heard a noise coming from everyone in the room.
"Last year, Cassidy freaking froze the football teams' clothes! And she pulled the fire alarm so she could get out of a math test!" I shrugged, crossing my arms over my chest, and crossed my leg over my thigh.
"It's easy, man. You just gotta make sure the cameras can't see you. Also, I have so many fake doctors' notes, man. I think my old man would be proud of me." I joked, as I have a fake smile on my face.
"I still don't know how you're with a Kelso. Your dad must've flipped, dude." I shrugged my shoulders.
   "Who's you're dad?" Leia asked.
"Steven Hyde, but I kept my moms last name." Leia went wide-eyed as she looked at me.
"Your dad is my dad's best friend! Dude, that's so weird!" I sighed. I continued to pick at the black nail polish off of my fingers.
"Not really.  I don't see him, but he got arrested, and I hadn't seen him in a few years." I said, finishing my sob story.
"But anyways, you were saying Nate?" I wanted him to finish his story.
He was telling us how he got a keg from Mama's as I rolled my eyes.
"How the hell did you get a keg? You two are awful liars! Jay, you're terrible at keeping up with a lie without stuttering." I said, pointing Jay out as he gives me a disbelief look.
"Bro!" Nate said, offended. But they both started saying bro to each other.
"I need a new boyfriend." I shook my head and looked to Ozzie, who placed a hand on my thigh.
"It's okay, you'll learn for next time." I scowled at the boy, and he just gave me a sarcastic smile.
"They were like this the whole time." I gasped, placing a hand over my heart and quickly rushing towards Nikki and giving her a hug.
"I'm so sorry for you, babes." I pat her curly hair, but making sure not to ruin her curls.
"Come on, babe. It's the fourth of July, miracle! With beer!" He exclaimed the last part to Nikki.
"Then what are we waiting for! Let's tap that keg and get the party going!" Gwen said. I quickly agreed with her. Nate, on the other hand, looked worried.
"We don't have a tap." I groaned, leaning on Gwen, who was sitting on a chair at the table.
"You idiot! You got a keg with no tap!" I said, shaking my head at the boy.
"Would a kiss make it better?" Nikki sarcastically asked me as I scowled at her playfully.
"Do you have a mouthful of beer?" She shook her head.
  "Then no." I replied.
"Well. I have something remotely better." Leia said.
I was sitting on Jay's lap, as I was staring at uno cards.
"Bro, pick a card." I giggled, looking at Gwen.
"Bro, c'mon!" I whined. She caved and took a card.
"I bet you it's a blue card!' I laughed when it was the right card.
"Dude, that's so fuckin cool bro! How did you know?" I put an invisible key to my lips and zipped my mouth. But I ended up laughing, then I stopped, then I continued to laugh again.

Our high was over as Nate was now trying to bang the keg opened. I was yawning as I was sitting next to Ozzie as I was staring at Nate.
"Nate versus beer. You know, I thought I trained you to he better kid. I thought that you'd learned better from me. I was so wrong." I tsk at the boy.
"Cassie man, would you shut up! You're making me feel bad!" I rolled my eyes as I walked away. I made my way towards Jay, and leaned on his arm.
"I thought you said no cuddles or kisses for a week?" A grin was plastered on his lips as I grumbled at him.
"Shut up." He laughed as I got more comfortable on his arm.
"Wait, why can't we just go back to Mama's and get a tap?" I looked at Leia with a terrified look.
"Look, man, we all tried. I even let Jay flirt with her!" I said, Gwen shuddered in response.
"It's true. And Cassie is very possessive of Jay." I nodded my head, agreeing.
"It's true. But I'm not that bad, am I?" I looked to Nikki, who gives me a half and half shake with her hand.
"But you only do it when other girls flirt with him. Which is understandable." I let out a sigh of relief.
"Even Cas tried. Jay had to swoop in and save the girl before she blew her cover. She almost got caught by the cops again." I nodded my head. A look of fright was on my face.
"It's true, man. I almost died." Jay throws me into his arms and hugged me as I fakes sobbed.
"I have failed at lying!" I cried, fake sobs racking my body.
"It's okay, babe. It's not you. It was her." He assured me as I pulled away from his warm body.
"Okay."Okay." He pushes some hair out of my face as he gives me a soft kiss on the lips.
"But you haven't tried yet." Gwen said, pointing to Leia.
"She's innocent! She's a Forman, man!" Gwen gives me a glare in response as I silenced myself.
"Then help me, you could show me how to be braver. Or lie better, I mean I was on the debate team. Can't be that hard to lie." I snorted.
"Debate team?" I asked, in return, a slap on my arm from Jay as I silenced myself.
"Cas could help you. I mean, she's literally the best at stealing." Jay said as I placed a hand on my heart.
"Awe babe, that's so sweet." I sneak my hand into his pocket as he continues to stare into my eyes as I stole a piece of gum.
"See, expert." We all rolled our eyes at the boy.
"You're just whipped." Gwen said to Jay, who scoffs in response and tried to deny.
"Deny, all you want, babe, but it's true. You are." I said while blowing a bubble with the mint gum.
"I want to be you when I grow up." I laughed at Leia, but she was one hundred percent serious.
"Alright. So, here's the plan." And I knew just from then that Leia Forman will become a woman, and learn that she could be strong without worrying about others.

TASM!PETER X FEM!READER || sequel to modern art
a/n: for the second and final part, I thought you guys would ask for a happy ending, but instead, all I received were requests on peter being guilty and sad as hell (ily for it). I told you all of us had pain kink! WARNINGS: Super mean to peter, swearing, and let's please assume avengers existed after tasm2.
Tumblr media
No matter how happy and fun they are made out to be, High School reunions are nothing but about power. Who got their dream jobs, who broke up, who are now in desperate need of money – it has always been about power.
But you did miss most of your old friends, and RSVPing no wasn’t your forte. Besides, using it as an excuse gave you a break from work. Looking at the ocean of familiar faces, you didn’t regret your decision. You missed those fuckers, no matter how annoying some of them were years ago.
There were also people you weren’t looking forwards to seeing; Peter being on the top of the list. Him showing up at all was surprising. Did he even have any friends? After your messy breakup, the only person he talked to was Gwen, but that had an end even worse than yours.
Which means he came to talk to you.
All through the night, you moved in directions opposite to him, and generally kept yourself busy so he wouldn’t get a chance to say hi. You had thought you wouldn’t be that bothered by his presence, which was why you came at all. But standing under the bright lights, you kept glancing here and there, nervously tapping your feet against the floor.
It was as if you were suddenly consumed by every memory you had of him — how he promised you forever then left you alone days later. Despite everything, you had continuously told yourself it wasn’t his fault he fell in love with Gwen. But if he was out of the picture, you had no one to blame but yourself—
“Y/N?” Aimee called, pulling you out of your thoughts. “Are you okay? You look a bit sick.”
“No, I’m fine. You were telling me about your husband, right?” you asked, smiling.
“Wait, let me,” she turned to look at the group of men near the giant welcome sign. “Mark, get over here! Say hi to Y/N!”
“Mark?” your mouth fell open. “Since when have you guys been dating?”
“A lot of things happened these past few years, Y/N. Our wedding, my haircut, and the fact that there are literally more superheroes than Hallmark Christmas movies."
"I like it," Mark added, coming over. "NightShade saved me the other day."
"From monsters?" you asked, your eyes wide.
NightShade was a well-known fighter who had recently joined the Avengers along with Alexandrite and The Vulture. Why they all had such cryptic names was yet to be known. Unlike the rest of the Avengers, they decided to keep low profiles, meaning they were just as anonymous as Spiderman.
"No, he walked right onto the traffic without looking at the signal," Aimee said, exhausted.
"Hey, you're sore because he's your favorite Avenger and I got to meet him."
"No, my favorite is Alexandra, she's so badass," she sighed dreamily.
"Her name is Alexandrite," Mark corrected. "Just call her Alexa like the rest of the city does."
"I know who your favorite is, Y/N," she said, ignoring her husband. "You always had the hugest crush on a certain Spiderman. Too bad he's not an Avenger."
You rolled your eyes at that, making her frown.
“You don't like him anymore?” she asked incredulously. You shrugged.
“I'm over him. He’s not that great,” you muttered, taking a sip of the juice Mark had just handed over.
Peter, who was obviously listening in on the conversation from the other end of the room, had enough.
“Uhm, code red,” Aimee said, mostly out of habit. It was what she used to say anytime Peter was within a 5 mile radius after you broke up. And just like back then, you almost choked on the drink, then put it down on the table with a dull thud.
“Hey!” Peter said, and Mark was the only one who smiled.
“Ehm, babe, let’s go say hi to Watsens,” Aimee said, pulling Mark away. You knew she was trying to give you privacy, but the last thing you wanted was to be alone with Peter Parker.
You were about to walk away too, but he grabbed your elbow, maybe out of his superhero reflex. You glared at him, making him let go as if he touched fire.
“Sorry,” he mumbled. “Listen, can we talk?”
“No,” you said firmly.
“I came all this way to talk to you,” he said desperately. “It won’t take a minute, I swear.”
“Let me guess, are you about to apologize?”
He sighed, hating how he made it obvious.
“You said sorry that day,” you smiled forcefully. “It didn’t do much. Won’t do anything now.”
“I—"
“Enjoy the party, Pete. I think I’m going to head out early.”
He felt desperately guilty again, and guilt was something Spiderman had yet to master bearing. He didn’t want you to walk away, not before he plead his case.
“I saved you!” he said loudly, earning a fair few stares from the people nearby.
You turned, scoffing. “Excuse me?”
“I saved you,” he repeated, taking a step and lowering his voice. “You didn’t lose anything, I did.”
“You’re saying Gwen’s death is my fault?” you asked, your voice sharp.
“God no,” he disagreed quickly. “I’m just, look, I lost her because I was stupid. If anyone should be angry here, it’s me. What did you lose?”
“You,” you breathed, amazed he even had to ask. “You think I should be grateful I’m even alive? That’s your big apology? And as shitty as that is, don't you think it's a bit too late for that?”
“After Gwen's death, for years I wanted to knock on your door and beg for forgiveness.”
“Then why didn’t you?” you snapped.
“Because I knew if I talked to you again,” he paused. “I would have doomed you too.” I would have fallen in love with you again. “I'm cursed.” And I didn't want to lose you too.
“You have a hell of a god complex, Peter. Let's take a trip down the memory lane," you said, your words hurried. "If you hadn't fallen in love with her, we would have still been dating—"
"No—"
"Don't interrupt. Gwen worked at Oscorp. She was at top of that freaking clock tower because of Green Goblin, who I didn't even know! So no, I wouldn't have died. It's literally impossible that I would have been standing at the same spot she was. I wouldn't have died. She wouldn't have died if you hadn't fucked us up!"
"Y/N." The way he said your name irked you because that was exactly how he used to say it years ago. Calm and quiet, as if he's right and everyone knew it.
You wanted nothing more than wipe that sympathetic smile off his face. And that's exactly what you did. Your words came out hushed, but you knew he could hear them.
"You didn't save me, Peter. You killed her."
His face drained of blood, amazed at how cruel you could be if you set your mind to it. You were about to walk off, leaving him broken like he once left you, but he decided to surprise you in return too.
"Just because you wear it on your hand doesn't mean it's invisible." He said, loud and clear.
You turned, tilting your head sideways, almost amused, almost stunned. "Goodbye, Parker."
Once you reached outside, you took a deep breath in and looked at your hand. Perfectly manicured fingers stared back, along with a single ring finishing the look. You weren't married, no. But in a way, the ring was just as important.
The only reason Alexandrite was better known as Alexa was because of misinformation, and everyone assumed the woman behind the mask must be someone with the same name.
But what most forgets is that Alexandrite is also a gem, like the one in your ring.
Exactly like the one in your ring.

● you and Jed were taking a walk through the woods when you stumbled upon a little creature whimpering
● "uh babe what is that?"
● "I think its a shark?? A tiny little shark with legs??"
● you approach the creature who seems to be scared but you put your hand out and he cautiously comes closer
● you pet him and he's not scared anymore, in fact he jumps into your arms
● "hi little guy what are you doing out here all by yourself?"
● he snuggles into your arms and turns over so you can rub his belly
● "Jed it looks like we have a new friend"
● "well this is certainly one of the less weirder things we've dealt with"
● you and Jed take your friend back to school
● your sister Hope was definitely going to scold you about bringing home unknown creatures in the midst of Malivore sending all sorts of monsters to kill you guys but he was way too cute to abandon
● Josie and Lizzie are instantly all over him, petting him and telling him how cute he is
● Kaleb and Rafael are trying to figure out how this whole shark with legs anatomy works
● as predicted Hope says you should have left it in the woods
● "what if this is a trap by Malivore! This… thing could be tricking us into letting our guard down!"
● "please Hope, this little guy would never want to hurt us, look at that smile!"
● Jed "we gotta give him a name, what about Jaws?"
● "absolutely not Jed"
● enter MG and Landon who simultaneously ask "is that Jeff the land shark???"
● you all look at them weird
● "Jeff the… land shark?"
● "he's a member of the west coast Avengers!"
● MG and Landon proceed to tell you guys all about Jeff and the Avengers
● "I don't know how he got all the way to virginia but I guess that means we have to take him back home"
● MG to Landon "Oh my God we are gonna meet Gwen Poole!"
● "And Kate Bishop! Real life superheroes MG!"
● Jed "but we can keep him for a few days right?"
● you look to Hope with puppy dog eyes, none of you want to give Jeff back just quite yet
● Hope "ugh fine, only because MG and Landon can confirm he's not a malivore monster… but I'm not cleaning up after him"
● you and the others all cheer, you were gonna have so much fun with Jeff

Tumblr media
“can i wear your suit, pretty please?”
“y/n, for the tenth time tonight, no.” peter huffs, hands clenching tighter around your thighs. huh. you don’t remember asking nine other times. “mr stark would kill me if i need to get another new suit this early in the year.”
pouting, you let your head hang on his broad shoulder. around ten minutes ago, while you were in the middle of throwing back one of many shots, your boyfriend had showed up, a heavy frown evident on his thin lips. gwen, your best friend, had screamed at the sight of peter and begun telling everyone around her the story of your and peter’s relationship. she had barely gotten halfway through before peter, face as red as your dress, grabbed you, and you ended up heaved on his back, too drunk to make the walk home without help.
“are you mad at me?” you sniff, tear-filled eyes staring at his side profile.
“i’m not exactly overjoyed you told gwen i cried during our first time and she recounted that in detail to a whole frat party,” peter grumbles, walking steadily down the pavement and towards your dorm with your weight draped over him as though you’re a feather. “but i’m not mad at you, baby.”
breathing a long sigh of relief, you smush your lips to his cheek in a messy kiss, “i love you so much, petey,” you whine, tears rolling down your face, “like so much. i’d—i’d love you if you were as short as that space squirrel, or green like dr banner, or—or if you turned into a spider on the full moon, or—”
you lose your train of thought as peter arrives in front of your dorm and you suddenly remember the brownies you bought earlier. as soon as he puts you down, you cling to his arm, your heeled ankles wiggling unsteadily on the floor.
peter twirls his arm around your waist and bringing you to his chest, laughing at the way you went from describing all the ways you’d still love him to babbling about craving sweets. with a swipe of your card, the both of you are safe in your dorm, and you fall onto the bed, giggling as you bounce.
“pete,” you sing-song, making grabby hands at him, and he obliges, sitting beside you, “i... i want brownies.”
“we’ll get your brownies, angel,” he reassures you, “just as soon as you help me get you in pyjamas, okay?”
his hands slide along your thigh and under the skirt of your dress, making a devilish grin spread across your face, and you push him onto his back. giggling, you throw a leg over him, peter looking up at you with a wide, shocked expression as you lean over to try and kiss him.
“babe,” he squeaks, pulling away from you, “what are you—wait—”
“petey,” you laugh, laying a drawn-out smooch on his cheek, “i’m—let me kiss you.”
he sits up, arms circling around your waist and drawing you close to his chest. “sweetheart, you’re really drunk. let me take care of you.”
“you’re gonna... take care of me...” you burst into giggles, wiggling his eyebrows at him suggestively. “i wanna take care of you too, baby.”
sighing, he stands up, still holding you in his arms as he walks to the bathroom. you busy yourself with planting open-mouthed kisses to his neck and jaw, fully amused with the rose shading his skin. peter sets you down next to the sink, jumping up when you instantly start swinging your legs in the air and almost kick him right between his own, completely unaware of your actions.
slowly, he brings the hem of your dress up, and you let him slip it over your head, wrapping your arms around his neck and bringing him into a kiss. he doesn’t let it evolve into more than a short peck, but drops a sweet kiss on your cheek to appease you. tired out from the alcohol, you’ve calmed down, letting him dress you in a loose shirt you stole from his wardrobe ages ago.
one hand holding yours, peter uses the other to take your makeup off, peppering kisses on your nose in between a few swipes of the cotton along your skin, and you clutch his sweater with your free hand. when your face is clean and your teeth are brushed, peter scoops you once more, smiling gently as you bury your visage in his neck, mumbling half-asleep nothings against him.
you melt into your mattress as soon as he places you on it, but your boyfriend takes his time finding a water bottle, advil and the box of brownies you’d been raving about earlier. whining at the empty space beside you, you kick your legs out under the blankets like a petulant child, but peter seems to have endless patience and even more endless adoration for you. he simply grins at your antics, reaching back to take his shirt off before he slides beside you.
like a moth to a flame, you’re on him in seconds, cheek squished against his bare chest. he cuddles you into his side, chin on top of your head, and you both sigh out at the same time.
“petey?” you mumble, eyes closed.
he hums in response, running his hand up and down your back lightly. “yes, sweetheart?”
“i also want cookies.”

“I would love to stop and chat,” you told Peter as you looked for your keys, “but I’m in a hurry.”
“I’ll walk you to your car.”
If only you could find the stupid keys first! Oh, well, you’d check your backpack once you were in the parking lot.
Peter could have used the time it took you to cross campus to tell you whatever it was he wanted to say. Instead, he fiddled with the straps of his backpack and walked beside you in complete silence.
“I need a favor,” he finally said when you stopped in front of your car. As though it hadn’t been obvious.
“Peter,” you sighed, trying to hold your open backpack against your knee. A horrible idea, really. “My mom will kill me if I’m late for lunch.”
He took your backpack in his hands and held it for you. “I... it’s embarrassing.”
“We can talk about it tomorrow.”
“It can’t wait!”
His tone made you lift your head. “Are you alright? Is your aunt sick or something?”
He shook his head. “It’s about May in a way... oh, that rhymed.”
“Focus.”
“Right, right. Uhmmm she thought I was hiding something from her—“
You interrupted, “Were you?”
“Kind of,” he admitted. “So I told her I have a girlfriend.”
“I didn’t know you were dating anybody.”
“I’m not.”
“So why did you—“ You groaned. “Oh my God, you’re an idiot.”
“I deserve that one.”
“You want me to convince Gwen?”
“Gwen? Why would—“ He shook his head. Avoiding your eyes, he said, “I told her it was you.”
“And she believed you?”
“I’m as shocked as you are!”
“So you want me to lie to your aunt and tell her I’m dating you.” You closed your backpack, having had no luck finding your keys.
“More or less.” Peter continued holding your backpack, patiently waiting for you to retrieve it. “I was thinking more along the lines of lying to everybody and tell them we’re dating.”
You brought a hand to your hair, lightly gripping it for a moment. “I’m not a good actress.”
“I think your keys are in your hoodie.”
You palmed the front pocket where the sound of metal against metal let you know he was right. Introducing your hand, you withdrew the keys. “How did you know?”
“I heard them.”
“You have amazing hearing.” You reached over to take your backpack.
He handed it to you. “It’s a blessing and a curse.”
You unlocked the car and opened the back door on the driver’s side. Leaving your backpack onto the backseat, you heard Peter ask, “So... are you helping me?”
Standing straight, you turned to peer at him. You had to squint as the sun hit your face. “Can we talk later or tomorrow?”
He nodded. “Text me. Please.”
Peter had always been considerate with you and this time was no different. He patted your back before walking away on the opposite direction.
You bit your bottom lip. “Hey.”
Peter turned around. “Mmh?”
“Want me to drop you off?”
“Sure.”
It was nice to have some company in the car after a pretty lonely day. Gwen was nowhere to be seen and you didn’t share classes with Mary Jane. You had other friends, but they didn’t make you feel complete like Gwen, Mary Jane, Flash, Peter, and Harry did.
Harry...
You couldn’t stop yourself from asking, “Did you tell Harry?”
He didn’t sound surprised. “I was waiting for your answer. I told May she was the first person to know.”
You hummed. “What would I have to do?”
“She’ll want to confirm it’s true so you’d have dinner with us and then we would act like a couple in front of everybody.”
“Like a couple?”
“Just holding hands and hugging,” he clarified. “Maybe the occasional kiss on the cheek to throw people off their rhythm. Oh, and pet names!”
“You’ve got everything planned, huh.”
“My life depends on this,” he said dramatically.
“Do I get to know your secret if I say yes?”
He considered your question for a moment. “Eventually.”
You couldn’t believe you were doing this. “When should I come over for dinner?”
Peter’s eyes lit up. “Probably this weekend. I’ll ask May and text you.”
“Cool. I’ll talk to you later, then.”
He nodded. “Be safe.”
“You too.”
You pulled over a few blocks from your family home to put on some makeup, that way you would avoid the chastising that came every time your mom saw the bags under your eyes.
Wondering if Peter could tell the reason behind your helpfulness, you got rid of your hoodie and slipped a sweater on.
Doing this every time you visited after school was tiring, but it was better than putting up with meaningless fights.
Your mom was losing her patience when you arrived, you could see it on her face. She glared at you as you approached her to kiss her cheek. This and the fact that you couldn’t stand pretending so many aspects of your personality, were what lead you to choose to live on your own.
She hadn’t been too happy about it, but she was busy with the family business, her social life, and your sister to complain. Your dad always did what any of you wanted, mostly to make you three shut up.
“Sorry, sorry, sorry! Peter needed help with something.”
You sat down next to your sister who lifted an eyebrow.
“You’ve been spending a lot of time with him lately,” your mom suspiciously pointed out.
Oh, so she was keeping tabs on what you did on your free time...
The truth was there had never been anything between you and Peter.
You met him on his first day of college. He was the new kid everybody was intrigued by. Harry hated him at first and although you didn’t, you didn’t speak to him until Harry decided to stop being an asshole.
Now Harry was too busy with Liz, his gorgeous girlfriend, to care about you, his best friend.
It hurt, it really did. You befriended Harry when you were kids and had been inseparable up until now. Of course you had to put up with his weird flings, but he had never cast you aside for them.
You had harbored hope that he was secretly into you, but the less he spoke to you the more you realized he hadn’t found the one until he met Liz. That hurt even more — you were supposed to be the one.
Everything had played out in your mind from the moment you realized you had a crush on him. You would start dating in high school or college, get married, have kids, be a happy family...
But ever since he left you by yourself at a party when he was supposed to be your ride, you realized he hadn’t cared as much as you did.
Peter walked you to your apartment that night and made sure you drank plenty of water. He didn’t have to do it, Gwen and Mary Jane had already offered to do it themselves, but for some reason he felt like it.
You took a sip of water, realizing your mom and your sister were waiting for an answer. “He’s nice,” you opted for saying.
“Nice, eh,” you sister teased you.
“Yeah, nice. Is there a problem with that?”
You knew that attitude would only make them believe they were right in their assumptions. It was what Peter needed from you either way.
Truthfully, Peter wasn’t always nice, but you knew he tried.
“Are we waiting for dad?” you asked.
Your mom nodded. “He’ll be home any moment now.”
Your mom never complained when your dad was late, or when he was too busy to come home for lunch. You were used to it, she was biased in his favor — she had been since you were a child.
You checked your phone to keep yourself entertained. The Notification Center showed multiple badges, but the messages one caught your eye immediately.
Gwen💛: Missed you today.
You unlocked your phone to reply that you had missed her too when another text came in.
Pete: May said it would be cool if the three of us had dinner on Saturday.
You answered Peter first.
Sounds good to me. Just tell me what should I bring.
Your presence is more than enough, you’re our guest.
You huffed a laugh as you typed. Look at you trying to be cute.
I’ll have you know I’m extremely cute all the time.
Yeah, yeah. Should I bring dessert?
You don’t have to bring anything if you don’t want to.
I will strangle you the moment I see you, Peter.
Just say yes or no.
Maybe.
I hate you.
That’s not the proper way to treat your boyfriend :(
You could picture the glint in his eyes as he tried not to laugh.
You went along with it. I’m sorry, babe :(
I forgive you because I’m a nice boyfriend.
Won’t happen again. <3
Now let’s hope we can talk like that in person.
Are you daring me to sweet talk you in person?
Yes.
Your mom called your name. “Your dad asked you a question.”
You lifted your head. “Mmh?”
“No, no, continue texting,” he said sarcastically, “I have all day.”
You quickly typed TTYL and locked your phone. “Sorry.”
Your dad shook his head. “You and Harry always do this.”
“I wasn’t texting Harry,” you felt the need to explain. Harry didn’t deserve credit for this. “What did you want to ask?”
“I asked,” he remarked the word. “If you would be busy this weekend. Your sister won’t be.”
“I— uhmmm... I’m having dinner with Peter and his aunt on Saturday.” You saw your sister purse her lips beside you. “Did you need anything?”
“To spend time with my family.”
“I guess I can come over on Sunday or Saturday morning.”
“I was thinking about going out of town for the weekend,” he clarified.
“The three of you can go if you don’t want to wait another week,” you assured them. “I already told Peter I would have dinner with him and his aunt so I can’t cancel. I also have projects to do.”
════════════════════════
You rested your head on Gwen’s shoulder as both of you waited for Mary Jane in the cafeteria. They never made you feel like a third wheel even though they were dating so you never avoided spending time with them.
Mary Jane arrived accompanied by Peter. He looked extremely serious but he didn’t say anything as he stood across the table, staring at you like a child scared of saying what they had been up to. She elbowed him on the side before sitting down.
Peter got closer to you. “Can we talk?” he asked. “It’s important.”
You nodded, lifting your head off Gwen’s shoulder. As you stood up, you felt her hand squeeze yours which prompted you to turn and look at her.
She gave you a playful look that made you realize she wanted to know every detail once you were done. As your eyes crossed Mary Jane’s, you saw a similar sentiment in them.
“I’ll be right back,” you told them to pacify them.
He guided you to an empty area which wasn’t such an easy task. You ended up resting your shoulder against the wall, facing Peter while he looked around.
His eyes landed on you as he spoke in a hushed voice. “Can we start today?”
You mirrored his tone. “Fake dating?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay...”
“You don’t sound too sure.”
“Well, you’re changing the plan,” you explained. You hated changing plans, even more so when you weren’t sure you were the right person to execute them.
“I know. Just a day earlier, though.” He unashamedly pouted.
“Okay,” you said, this time sure. “Any particular reason?”
“There’s this freshman who thinks I flirt with her just because I’m nice to her and she’s creeping me out. I feel like she follows me around.”
You sighed. “She just has a crush on you, don’t be a baby.”
“Please?”
“I already said yes, you baby.”
“You kinda like calling me baby, don’t you?”
You playfully shoved him “You’re so annoying.” However, before he could leave to do whatever it was he did in his free periods, you grabbed him by the wrist. “Does Mary Jane know about your plan?”
“No. Why?”
“You arrived together.”
“Ah. No.” He shook his head. “I was looking for you and asked her if she had seen you.”
“Makes sense.”
“Yeah...”
You shifted on your feet. “So what now?”
“Do you have class next period?”
“Sadly.”
He chuckled. “I’ll walk you to class.”
“Wanna hang out with us for a little bit?”
“I gotta talk to Flash.”
You wiggled your eyebrows. “Gonna ask him out too?”
He rolled his eyes. “I’m never telling you who I find attractive ever again.”
“Good. Don’t wanna make your girlfriend jealous — do you, babe?”
Peter leaned over. His breath fanned on your face as he said, “Don’t worry, baby, I only have eyes for you.” He then kissed your cheek. “I’ll be right back. Wait for me with Gwen and Mary Jane.”
You nodded, hoping you didn’t look as stunted as you felt.
Both your friends stared at you, desperate to hear an explanation. You understood why, but you were still trying to come up with an excuse as to why you were so flustered over a kiss on the cheek.
You checked your phone, but there was nothing worthy of your attention.
Mary Jane spoke first, “What did Peter need?”
“We are a thing now.”
Gwen hummed. “But what did he need?”
“Permission to make it public.”
Mary Jane scratched her cheek. “Are you sure it’s a good idea?”
“You think he’d be a bad boyfriend?”
“I think you shouldn’t use him to make Harry notice you.”
That was harsh. Perhaps you deserved the reminder that Harry couldn’t care less about you, and perhaps you also deserved to feel bad for trying to use Peter against him — you would’ve preferred if the reminder didn’t come from your best friend.
“I’m not,” you partially lied. “I genuinely like Peter.”
True to his word, Peter walked you to class. You didn’t hold hands, it didn’t feel right, but he sweetly told you that he’d be waiting for you after your last class.
You saw Harry across the hallway, talking to Liz and one of her friends. For a second you thought he would walk towards you, the way he held your gaze had been almost cruel.
But he didn’t, he just gave you a nod and walked in the opposite direction, hand in hand with Liz.
You had better things to worry about. Your classes, your family’s expectations, helping Peter — reciprocal things to an extent. So why couldn’t you just get over the fact that Harry didn’t care about you?
Somebody poked you on the arm with their finger. Turning to the side, you found Flash who shot you a smile.
“What’s up?” you greeted him.
“We have a project to finish.”
You cursed under your breath. “Are you free on Sunday?”
“Nope.”
“Tomorrow?”
He tilted his head. “Yeah. I’ll drop by your place.”
“At what time?”
“Like 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Don’t wanna wake you up by mistake again.”
Peter laughed behind you, having caught that last part.
You ignored Peter. “I have something to do after 5. Why don’t you come over early? I promise I’ll be awake.”
Flash shared a look with Peter and then patted your shoulder. “Cool. See you tomorrow, sleeping beauty.”
Peter snickered, standing beside you now.
“Stop laughing.”
“I just can’t believe you’re that grumpy in the mornings.” He started walking towards the exit.
You walked beside him. “You don’t know the whole story.”
He opened the door for you and then followed your steps. “You can tell it tomorrow at dinner.”
Craning your neck go look at him, you asked, “You want your aunt to laugh at me?”
“I’ll defend you.”
You suddenly remembered that you didn’t know what you were supposed to do or say in front of his aunt. You had met her before, but that fact made this situation even more bizarre.
You tried to start with an easy question, “Should I wear a dress for tomorrow?”
“You can wear whatever you want,” he assured you.
Well, that wasn’t helpful at all.
════════════════════════
You checked the time on your phone and realized you had a message from Flash. He was on his way.
Looking around your bedroom, your eyes fell on the bed where a pile of clothes laid. The sight stressed you out, and even more the fact that you didn’t seem to be able to set your mind on an outfit.
You anxiously waited for Flash at the door, pulling it open the moment you were aware of his presence on the other side.
He lifted both eyebrows. You usually took your sweet time to answer the door.
“We sh—“
You interrupted him. “I need your help with something else first.”
Flash softly dropped the materials he had been carrying onto the couch as he gave you a skeptic look. “I’m not disposing of a body for you.”
You took him by the wrist, dragging him to your bedroom. It wasn’t an abnormal occurrence by any means, he honestly should have had expected it.
“God, not again.” He sighed as his eyes fell on the pairs of shoes scattered around the room.
“Come on, just tell me if I should wear that skirt.” You pointed at the black skirt on top of the mountain of clothing. “Or jeans.”
He opened his arms, unsure as to what to tell you as his hands stayed in an awkward angle.
“What would you want me to wear if I were meeting your family?” you encouraged him to help you.
He cocked his head, looking at you through his lashes. “A straight jacket.”
“Please take this seriously.”
Inhaling deeply, he set his eyes on the pile of clothes. “Is the skirt more comfortable than the jeans?”
“I’m not thinking about comfort.”
“Well, you should. You know May will make you squirm with her questions.”
“No skirt, then.”
“It’s just dinner,” Flash reminded you, “wear something casual.”
”Yeah,” you sighed, “just dinner.”
What an easy thing to say. You knew so few details that you might as well make a fool of yourself in front of May.
Flash ignored your semblance even though you knew he took note of it. He reached his hand into one of the bags he had been carrying then handed you a paper bag. “I brought breakfast.”
“Why didn’t you say so when you arrived?”
He glared at you. “Why don’t you get us something to drink instead?”
You ate breakfast sat on the living room floor while discussing your project. Flash wasn’t the most responsible person ever, but he was by far the best partner you ever had for a project.
However, his comment from earlier made you wonder something. Unable to hold it anymore, you asked, “How did you even know about the dinner?”
“Peter told me,” he answered simply.
“He did?”
“Why are you so shocked?”
You shrugged. “I thought we would wait a little bit longer.”
“Yeah, but it was bound to happen.”
“Don’t,” you warned him.
“Why not? I told you you’d end up having a crush on him.”
“Flaaaaaaaash!”
You hated to prove him right and although this was different, you wouldn’t lie and say Peter wasn’t attractive or crush material.
“Peter’s cool.”
“You don’t have to convince me, I’m already dating him.”
“I’m just pointing out that he’s an upgrade.”
There it was.
Flash took a dislike towards Harry when Harry started dating Liz which was normal because she was his ex, but it turned into vitriol really quickly.
Both Flash and Harry put Peter in an awkward situation the first few months. Now you didn’t know much about it — Harry complained about it with you at first, but he stopped.
“It’s different.”
“That’s the point, isn’t it?”
You frowned, looking into your half-empty cup of coffee.
“I can see through you.”
“Mary Jane told you her theory, didn’t she?”
“She thinks the same?” You nodded. He pensively hummed. “She didn’t tell me, to be honest. I’m only trying to look out for you and Peter.”
“I like him, I don’t know why you think I don’t.”
Flash didn’t spare you as he reminded you, “Because you said the same about your ex.”
“Yeah and look how that went!”
“(Name).”
“What?”
“Stop comparing guys you like to Harry and I promise you things will go well.”
He really could see right through you.
“I’ll stop. I promise.” Not knowing why, you added, “It’s not even that hard, Peter is... Peter. You know what I mean? Like how can you compare him to other people or other people to him?”
“Yeah, I get it.”
Oh no. “Do you like him?” you blurted.
Flash laughed softly. “Not in that way, no.”
“You sure? I don’t want things to be weird.”
“Peter might be handsome and cool,” he admitted, “but we wouldn’t work as a couple.”
“You think Peter and I would?” you incredulously asked.
“You will, yeah.”
You were truly nervous now. Not because of May’s potential questions or because you would have to lie — actually, you didn’t know where the nerves were coming from.
You just knew that Flash’s words resonated with you. He went from hating Peter to being his close friend which in your eyes meant he knew Peter better than anyone.
Did Flash know what Peter was hiding? Perhaps that was what he was alluding to when he assured you Peter and you would work as a couple.
The day went by extremely quickly. You weren’t mentally ready when Flash left or when you were on your way to Peter’s for that matter.
Peter was waiting for you in the lobby with hands in his pockets and shifty eyes.
“Is she like mad or something?” you asked instead of greeting him. You were ten minutes early so tardiness couldn’t be the issue.
He made a face, jerking his head as he gazed at you. He looked confused. “She’s just worried.”
What if she got angry at you when you hadn’t done anything? Peter told you to act normal, but normal you wasn’t madly in love with him.
As you approached the apartment, you found yourself thinking you were either going to ruin this or find out you deserved an academy award.
Peter opened the door and allowed you to come in first. May smiled at you before giving you a side hug in greeting.
“I brought dessert,” you told her as you parted from her.
“Oh, honey, you didn’t have to.”
Okay. Not angry yet.
She placed the dessert onto the table and motioned for you and Peter to sit.
Peter and you grabbed the chair at the same time. He opened his eyes wide, making you withdraw your hands immediately. He took the chair out for you.
Peter could be polite when he wanted, but you were getting worried. Since when did he treat the people he dated like this?
Nonetheless, you sat down.
May didn’t waste time and touched the subject pretty quickly. The moment she served dinner, she said, “I thought Peter was messing with me at first.”
“I wouldn’t do that,” he defended himself.
“Sure you wouldn’t,” she said sardonically.
“I thought he was messing with me when he asked me out, so I get it.”
Peter looked at you in shock and you unconsciously smiled at him.
May cooed. “I don’t understand why you two hid your relationship for months when you’re so cute together.”
“I didn’t want it to be awkward with our friends,” you quickly lied. “What if it didn’t work out or something?”
Your answer would have made sense if your relationship with Peter was real and that would be your strategy from now on. He couldn’t have a secret that would need you to lie that often.
May was so happy with your answers that the conversation deviated from you and Peter to everything but your love life.
You felt a little silly now, having expected the worst when Peter had already told you she was just worried.
He walked you to your car at the end of the night, something you guessed would become a common occurrence.
Things had gone well with May so you had no reason to think things wouldn’t go well with your friends.
You gnawed on the inside of your bottom lip. “Are things going to be awkward now?”
“Between us?”
You nodded. “I mean... saying shit is one thing, but you know...” God, you felt awkward already.
Peter frowned for a moment. “Give me your hand.”
Shifting on your feet, you asked, “You want your hand to be under mine or on top?”
“I don’t mind. You choose.”
You slid your arm under his, opening your palm but not touching him yet. He took the initiative and pressed his hand against yours.
“Is this okay?” he softly asked.
“Yes.”
He intertwined his fingers with yours, squeezing a little bit. You huffed a laugh.
“This too?”
You nodded.
“Well, that’s the only thing that’ll change between us. We already hug pretty often.”
Oh, Peter gave the best hugs. Although Gwen was a close second, you preferred his because he was always warm. He also smelled good, but you had to give it to Gwen and admit she did too.
“I’ll see you on Monday, then, boyfriend.”
“Drive safe, girlfriend.” Before you could say anything, he added, “Text me when you get home.” Yet he didn’t let go of your hand immediately.
════════════════════════
Harry didn’t take the news of your relationship with Peter that well. The moment he saw you holding hands, he made his way towards you.
Peter squeezed your hand, easing your nerves. He was there, nothing could go wrong with Peter there.
“Shouldn’t you be in class?” Harry drily asked you.
“In twenty minutes or so,” you softly answered.
“Well, can I talk to you?”
You turned to Peter, hoping he’d save you from an awkward conversation. Sure, you wanted a reaction from Harry, but not an angry one!
“It’s okay, baby.” Peter kissed your hair as he let go of your hand. “I’ll see you later.”
With a shaky sigh, you motioned Harry to lead the way.
He immediately asked, “Why Peter?”
You stuttered. “I... things just happened.”
“Did they have to happen with my other best friend?”
In a twisted way, they had to. But you couldn’t possibly tell him that. “You didn’t care when Gwen had a crush on him, why is this any different?”
His eyes sharpened. “It just is.”
Many things just were. That didn’t mean anything. You wished you had the courage to reply.
As always, you gave him the upper hand and allowed him to make another question. “It’s not serious, right?”
What were you supposed to say? The thing that’d make him angry or the thing that’d pacify him? How selfish of you to be thinking about making Harry jealous when Peter needed this to be believable.
“It’s too soon to know.”
Harry hummed, softly nodding. “I’ll walk you to your class.”
You frowned. He had never done something like that.
“You’re coming to my birthday party, right?”
You almost tripped as you answered, “I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
“Cool. I’ll see you there.”
Thirteen-year-old you was right when she thought boys were confusing, but Harry surely took the cake. You assumed he’d ask you to hang out more often given his reaction, but there he was telling you —on a Monday— that he’d see you on Saturday.
Harry’s attitude soured your entire morning. If classes were already unbearable, he made you want to skip each one of them. Your friends noticed, but nobody said anything.
What a horrible morning and what a horrible week it would be until his stupid birthday party rolled around and you’d have to see him show his girlfriend off.
Your friends decided to go to the coffee shop near campus after class and although you weren’t in the mood for socializing, you would rather suck it up than be by yourself.
Besides, coffee shops were always a good place to do homework and you had quite a few projects accumulated.
Peter rested his head on your shoulder in the same way you always rested yours on Gwen’s. You threw your arm around his shoulders as you rested your eyes.
“Are you getting sleepy?” you whispered in case he was.
“No,” he mumbled. “But I don’t wanna move.”
“I have to pick up my sister from the mall in a couple of hours so you’ll have to.”
He whined.
“Who would’ve thought Peter would be a clingy boyfriend,” Gwen teased.
“Literally anybody who has ever seen him drunk,” Flash continued teasing him.
Peter was red. He shifted, trying to hide his face on your shoulder.
In all honesty, you didn’t mind if he was clingy or not. You had been told you were a little too effusive when it came to affection so you had a soft spot for people who were similar in any way.
You withdrew your arm from his shoulders in order to continue typing on your computer.
Peter went back to his previous position, facing your computer too. “You made a typo,” he told you. “Third line on the second paragraph.”
Mary Jane arrived late and she seemed to be in a bad mood so Gwen made up an excuse in front of your friend group as though she knew something you didn’t —she probably did— and took her home.
Looking at the time, you realized it was time for you to get going too so you started to put your things away.
‘I’m leaving with Flash,” Peter reminded you. “Text me or call me if you need me. I might not answer quickly because we’ll be playing video games but just try for a second time, okay?”
“Okay.”
He kissed your forehead. ”Drive carefully.”
You hummed. “Have fun, Pete.”
“You too, baby.”
Your mom didn’t give you many details when she asked you to pick your sister up. You didn’t even know with which friends she was hanging out with or why they were at the mall on a Monday and not somewhere more fun.
There you were, judging her like you hadn’t followed Harry like a puppy when you were her age.
She texted you that she was on her way to the entrance you were waiting at, telling you she had been all the way across.
It was probably a lie, but you’d let it slide.
Your sister tugged the door open and got into the car in silence, putting her cellphone away as she got comfortable.
“Did you have fun?”
She nodded and smiled at you.
You snickered and poked her cheek. “You have dried lipgloss all over your mouth.”
Your sister bashfully looked down.
You handed her a tissue. “Hey, it’s okay. There’s nothing to be ashamed about.”
She stayed silent for a small moment before worriedly asking, “Are you telling mom and dad?”
“No. But I’d like to know who it was.”
She whined. “Do I really have to tell you?”
You tried to put yourself in her shoes. You didn’t know how embarrassing it would have been for you to talk about your first kiss —or kisses— with a family member because nobody really cared when you started dating classmates.
But it didn’t sound fun so instead, you asked, “Are they your age?”
“Yup ”
“You promise?”
Realizing the question was serious, she nodded for emphasis. “Yes.”
“Cool. That’s all that matters.”
Your dad was home so you were forced to stay for dinner which again, was better than being on your own.
You couldn’t wait to either get together with Harry or over him. As things were going, you could only admit it would be the latter.
“Did your friend have a good birthday?”
Your sister looked at you before answering. “Yeah, we saw a movie.”
“What was the movie about?”
Your dad really tried to get along with both of you, you had to give him that. He was bad at it most of the time, but he tried.
Your phone started ringing. As you stared at the screen, you frowned. Unknown numbers rarely called you.
Hesitant, you answered, “Hello?”
“Hi, (Name),” May tried to speak sweetly. The moment you heard her voice, you stood up from your seat on the couch and left the living room. “Peter isn’t answering his phone, can you put him on the line for me?”
You walked into the adjacent studio, weirded out by her request. “He told you he’d be with me?”
“Isn’t he?”
“He is,” you said hurriedly, “I was just curious.”
“Can I talk to him now?” May laughed nervously.
“He went out to buy food and left his phone here. I’ll tell him to call you as soon as he’s back.”
“Thank you.”
You texted him multiple times as soon as May hung up.
May called. Where are you?
She sounded worried.
I had to lie and say you had gone out to buy food and forgot your phone in case she asks.
Hey.
Pete?
Dude, you’re scaring me.
PETER
Come on
Istg I will lose my shit if you’re messing with me
It’s not funny
You made your way towards the bathroom, needing to splash some water onto your face or something. Anything.
He couldn’t be so immersed in a video game as to not answer multiple calls or texts.
Why would Peter tell May he was with you when he could easily tell her he was with Flash? Was he not at Flash’s anymore?
Perhaps Flash would reply!
You texted him and called him dozens of times before giving up. You didn’t want to think the worst, maybe they were out buying something, but they could be in danger too.
Your hands started shaking pretty quickly when the idea of something happening to him overpowered your thoughts.
You needed to get out of that bathroom and back to the living room where a distraction could meet your anxiety before you went crazy.
So you splashed your face and bolted.
Back in the living room, you caught pieces of your dad’s conversation with your sister. He was boring her with business talk.
You had been in her place many times, and although his tone was more lighthearted with her because the expectations to follow in his footsteps were on you, it was clear he was trying to get her interested in things she didn’t even understand.
Your phone dinged. You immediately looked down.
Pete❤️: I’m okay
What the fuck, Peter?
Where were you?
Busy, sorry.
Did you call May?
Yeah.
Ok.
You didn’t know what else to say. ‘I had a shitty day and you almost gave me a panic attack’ didn’t sound appropriate. It would be truthful, but you couldn’t do that to him.
Where are you?
At my parents’.
He didn’t reply anymore so you locked the device and rested your head on the arm of the couch.
What a fucking day. If your week would be half as exhausting, you were ready to give up on the entire month in advance.
Remembering you were meant to ask if Mary Jane was okay, you unlocked your cellphone again.
As you finished typing your message to Gwen, one from Peter came through.
Can you come out for a few minutes?
Yeah. Give me a moment.
You took a deep breath, fixing your outfit as you slipped your phone into your pocket. You rounded the couch as you attempted to take the path towards the front door.
“Where are you going?” your sister asked.
“Outside. I need to give something to Peter.”
“Don’t take too long,” your dad told you.
You said a meek yes as if you were going to listen to him when you needed to inspect Peter from head to toe just to make sure he was truly okay.
You couldn’t bring yourself to speak as Peter slowly approached you. To his credit, he looked fine so he hadn’t lied.
He spoke first, as he should have, “Please don’t be mad at me.”
“I’m not mad,” you mumbled.
He gave you a look.
Clearing your throat, you opened your arms only to slap your hands against your thighs in defeat. “You had me worried sick.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.”
“Are you going to tell me where were you?”
“I can’t.”
You scoffed. “So I have to cover for you without even knowing what the hell I’m covering?”
He whispered your name, placing his hand on your cheek as he tried to make you look at him.
You closed your eyes. “I don’t mind lying for you,” you softly said, meaning it like you had never meant anything else in your entire life. “But don’t I deserve to know why I’m lying?”
He brought you onto his chest, holding you tight against him. “You do deserve to know,” he admitted. “And I’ll tell you everything, but not tonight.”
You were scared to ask why.
════════════════════════
Peter draped his arm over your shoulder, holding you close to him as the two of you stood with your group of friends.
You hadn’t been in that place in a long time but still remembered where every room was. You also knew in which one Harry would fuck Liz at the end of the night.
You took a sip of alcohol. It didn’t taste like much — a bad sign.
Your eyes fell on the beer pong table. A guy you didn’t recognize and Harry were playing against Mary Jane and Flash. That was a bad sign too.
“I’m gonna refill my cup,” you whispered in Peter’s ear, “do you want me to refill yours?”
He shook his head. “I’ve still got plenty.”
It took you a moment to move and he didn’t make a sign to having found it weird.
The kitchen was quieter, not by much but the change was nice. Something you had always disliked about Harry was his taste in music.
You crashed against a thin body.
Liz took you by the waist and you awkwardly placed your hand on her hip, each of you steadying the other. “Sorry,” both of you apologized at the same time.
“I was distracted,” you insisted.
She took her hands off you and you did the same. Liz extended her hand so she could refill your cup for you.
“I’m glad you’re here,” she said as she refilled your cup. “Harry thought you wouldn’t come.”
“Why?”
She shrugged. “You know how he is.”
You didn’t. Not anymore. You took your cup from her, thanking her before bringing it to your lips.
“Well, we’re all here,” you said in pretended optimism. “And we’re all having fun.”
She smiled, looking as pretty as ever. “Damn right we are!”
You went back to Peter while Liz took off to talk to some of her friends. Once again, he threw his arm over your shoulders, hand almost brushing your chest as it dangled.
Mary Jane was back, bored of playing. Flash asked Peter to team up with him. Peter removed his arm from you, telling you he’d be back.
You focused on Peter as he rolled his sleeves on his way to the table.
Feeling something move in your pocket, you took your cellphone out. Your dad was calling.
“I need to take this call,” you told your friends.
The air was cold in comparison to the inside of the house. You let your dad call again and answered the phone, already expecting some kind of bad news.
To his credit, he sounded disappointed while telling you the plans the family had made for the next day were cancelled. He said your mom was upset.
As a child you often heard excuses for his absence. He was busy, his success depended on sacrifices, he tried his best so you and your sister could have everything you wanted.
Harry always told you to be grateful that you had loving parents. You weren’t sure you had the same definition of love.
You still assured your dad you weren’t angry and promised to spend the day with your mom and sister. His silence as an answer to your offer was a reminder that he didn’t believe you were capable of fixing meaningful problems.
You didn’t show how much it hurt you, there was no point. He meant well, your mom and sister did too.
Leaving the party sounded appealing, but your friends didn’t deserve it. You sucked it up and went back to the house.
Peter and Flash were bumping fists when you approached the area. They had won the game.
You went directly to the couch, not in the mood for dancing. Peter walked towards you, fixing his hair.
Sitting down, he twisted his upper body. “Is everything okay?”
“My dad just cancelled tomorrow’s family plans and said mom’s kinda upset.”
“I’m not surprised.”
“Neither am I.” You changed the subject, “I’m surprised you won that game, though.”
“You don’t have faith in me?”
You swiped your tongue across your bottom lip. “I never said that. But you have to admit you’ve never been one for taking part in games. Last time I saw you play something, you got your ass handed to you by Flash.” Twisting your mouth, you tilted your head. He looked down. “You’ve never played sports, right?”
He didn’t answer.
You insisted, “Right?”
He hummed, nodding at the same time as though it made any sense.
“Were you even listening?”
“No,” he quickly admitted. “Can I kiss you?”
Oh. He had been looking down at your mouth.
He caught you off guard. You couldn’t say no, though, you didn’t want to say no. “Yes,” you answered him.
He started slow and sweet, with his hand on your cheek as the other rested on his lap. You didn’t know what to do with your hands, so you just closed your eyes and kissed him back, following his rhythm.
He slowly build the kiss up, sucking your bottom lip between his. Gripping the front of his sweatshirt, you boldly bit down his bottom lip in return.
Peter wrapped his free arm around you then he brought you closer, flush against him. His tongue tried to pry your mouth open in the exact moment you were about to do the same. Your tongues clashed together and instead of turning it all awkward, it only prompted you to grab him by the hair.
Peter hummed on your mouth and continued kissing you. Now he had both hands on your body, holding you tightly by the waist.
Maybe you could take him to another room, maybe you could feel his hands on you without the burden of your clothes.
His vice grip on you made you feel like floating and you suddenly wondered why you hadn’t made out with Peter before. It didn’t have to be anything serious, it didn’t have to go past messing around.
He was attractive, so were you. Why hadn’t you seen it before? Why had you denied yourself this when he was so good at kissing and his touch was so rough you were sure he would leave marks? And you wanted him to do it, you wanted him to let himself loose on you.
Fuck, you were getting horny over your fake boyfriend.
And as if he knew exactly what was going on inside your hazy mind, he attached his lips to your neck. It was over, you were done — it would be a failure if you didn’t manage to take him to a private room or back to your apartment.
Resting a hand on his thigh as you pushed yourself over, you felt the vibration of his throat as he whimpered while you kissed him.
Something buzzed under your hand, prompting both of you to part. Panting, you stared at each other for a moment. His hair was a mess and he had never looked prettier.
He withdrew a hand from your body to take his cellphone out. You knew the mood had completely been killed when he sighed and locked the device.
“I need to do something,” he announced as he stood up. “I’ll be back.”
What? You didn’t have a chance to react, he just left you there, hot and bothered.
════════════════════════
You padded your way toward the kitchen for the second time since you had gone to bed. Sleep wasn’t necessarily elusive that night, but you found yourself waking up every hour.
Turning the lights on, you looked at the time. Almost 4:00 am. You filled a glass with water and slowly drank it.
You knew the tough day you had with your family was still doing a number on you even though you had left early, you also knew you should have been used to it by now.
Tapping against glass took you out of your mind, bringing you goosebumps. As the sound continued, you realized it was coming from the living room.
You considered going back to your room and locking yourself up which sounded safer, but curiosity overpowered logic.
A figure loomed over the windowpane. You wondered if your mind was tricking you — you lived in the fifth floor.
The figure became clearer as you got closer to the window. You let out a relieved sigh. Spider-Man waved. You tilted your head — why would Spider-Man want to visit you?
Maybe he was hurt and needed help.
You opened the window. “Can I help you?”
He nodded upward, letting you know he needed to come in. You let him, moving to the side.
He took the liberty to close the window once he was inside. You stood before him, assuming he would verbally tell you what he needed.
He wasn’t hurt from what you could see. He walked just fine, his breath wasn’t ragged... You were more confused now.
Reaching to the back of his head, Spider-Man took the mask off. Brown eyes bore into yours.
“You wanted to know what I was hiding...” Peter trailed off.
“You’re joking.”
He stepped closer to you. “I’m not.”
He had to. His sense of humor wouldn’t match a joke like this, but he had to.
The suit didn’t look like a cheap costume, but there had to be another explanation. Yes, it made sense — every time he disappeared out of nowhere and worried you sick, those days he sported black eyes or cuts on his face... but you didn’t want this to be the truth.
You dragged your finger down his arm to feel the texture of the suit.
Peter took a deep breath.
“Sorry,” you mumbled.
“It’s okay, baby,” he huskily said. When he got no answer, Peter added, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to call you baby.”
You inhaled deeply. “I get it, you’re getting used to it.”
He hummed, eyes on you as he sighed.
You placed your hand on his bicep. “Are you okay, Pete? I’m not going to tell anybody if that’s what worries you.”
His hands found their place on your waist. You leaned closer, seeking his warmth. Peter opened his mouth to say something, then decided against it.
He leaned in and kissed you, tentative as he gave you time to push him off you. But you didn’t, why would you?
You ran your hand through his hair as you kissed him back, already familiar with the shape of his lips and the warmth of his mouth.
He pushed you onto the wall as he shoved his tongue inside your mouth. His kiss became sloppy while his hands started wandering down.
He gripped your thighs, bringing your legs up so you’d wrap them around his waist. Both of you ground against the other, sloppily kissing. You could hear the sound your mouths were making and feel his hot breath on your face.
He was driving you crazy.
Peter didn’t stop there. Giving you room to breathe, he lowered his mouth to your neck where he took his time to find your sweet spot.
You felt his fingers up your thigh, where he played with the edge of your sleeping shorts.
He kissed, sucked, and licked his way up to your ear. “Is this okay?”
You hummed against his mouth before kissing him again pawing at his suit, desperate to feel his skin under your fingertips. Frustrated, you broke the kiss. “How do you even take this thing off?”
He chuckled and gave you another kiss. “I’ll teach you.”
“Are you gonna strip for me?” you joked. Why were you making jokes right now?
Peter tilted his head. “Is that what you want?”
The idea wasn’t bad at all, yet you answered truthfully, “I just want to touch you.”
He didn’t deny you anything that morning. You couldn’t remember the last time you enjoyed yourself that much with a sexual partner.
You didn’t leave an inch of his body untouched, relishing in his reactions. He wasn’t ashamed to tell you if he liked something, or to ask you to touch him firmly.
Peter didn’t hold back either. All he wanted was you and you weren’t complaining. He gripped you tightly and sucked on your skin as much as he was able to.
There would be bruises on you by the next day, and there would be scratches on him if his powers didn’t heal him quickly.
You liked this side of him, the side that fucked you into the mattress and groaned above you. He wasn’t scared of breaking you or hurting you — for a moment you wondered how it would feel if he did it.
He came on your belly then cleaned you up afterwards which was more than appreciated. You weren’t even sure you could speak properly when he asked if you needed water.
He brought you a glass either way, of course he did.
The sun was up when you were done, too tired to move and too spent to complain. Peter was back on the bed, warm body pressed against yours.
“I didn’t hurt you, did I?”
“No,” you tiredly answered. “I’m good.”
He held you tighter, laying his head on your chest.
You lazily dragged your fingers down his spine. “Is everything okay?”
“It was a long night,” he told you in a low voice.
You chose to believe he had visited because he thought you could provide him comfort, and you also decided that you always could — that you were okay with doing so. Even if most things about your relationship were fake, this one didn’t have to be.
════════════════════════
Peter and you never talked about it, and although you would have liked to hear the reasons behind his actions that night, you didn’t need to because it continued happening.
Having sex made pretending easier. He always had an arm around you or a hand on your body around your friends and by now you not only were used to his touch but sought it.
You often woke up next to him, sometimes clothed and sometimes naked. He always woke up before you, but he never left immediately. You wanted to know why.
Flash had been right to assume you’d develop a crush on Peter and now you had a sinking feeling that it wasn’t just a crush anymore.
You worried about him and wanted to be around him every second of every day, you liked hearing him tell you about his classes and his day — you liked that he always asked about yours, that he was willing to drop things for you because you would drop everything to be there for him.
Covering for him became a reflex. You had an inkling that May knew you were lying sometimes, but she never said anything according to Peter.
Your friends were happy with the development of your relationship which would have been lovely if this was real. But now you worried that the supposed breakup would disrupt your friend group.
It was hard not to think about it. The day would surely come and you’d be by yourself most of the time again. As if that was the only problem.
And problems continued rolling onto you. The last person you expected to see was at your door.
Harry gave you a smoldering look as you stood speechless. “Are you letting me in?”
You did.
He sat down on the couch, making himself at home even though he had barely visited your apartment.
“I thought you were sick,” he said in reference to the fact that you cancelled plans with your friends the day before.
“I was busy.”
Disgust contorted his face as his eyes fell on your neck. “Busy fucking my best friend?”
You flinched at his tone.
“I should’ve known you were only spending time with him because you wanted to get him into your bed.”
He said it as though you were the type of person to fuck anybody you met, as though you hadn’t rejected people because they weren’t him specifically.
“Believe it or not,” you coldly lied, “I started dating him months and not days before your birthday. You would’ve known about it if you talked to me.”
“Rubbing it on my face, aren’t you? Do you know how embarrassing it was to hear you were making out with him at my house after I told my friends multiple times that you were off limits?” He was seething, expelling droplets of saliva as he reproached you.
“Why would you do that in the first place? You knew I’d end up dating somebody who goes to the same school as us.”
“Why would you go for my best friend specifically? Don’t you care about my relationship with him?”
“Is this what our friendship has come to be? A reproaching fest?”
“You’re the one who crossed the line.”
“Harry, you didn’t have a problem when half our friend group drooled over him!”
“Because that’s different. I know Peter, he’s not right for you.”
You incredulously scoffed. “Funny how you’re the only one who says that.”
“I’ve never been wrong about the guys you’ve dated.”
Well, you couldn’t argue against that. But Flash was right, those guys hadn’t been the problem — the fact that you compared them to Harry was.
“Let time prove either of us right.”
“I don’t think I can.”
“What?”
“You promised nobody would ever be more important than me.”
You both promised a lot of things as kids... that you would never bring dates to an event you could attend together, that you would attend the same college, that you would be part of the same friend group your entire lives, that you would tell each other everything...
“I’m not saying Pete is more important than you, I’m j—“
“Break up with him, then.”
“You’re making it sound like I have to choose between you and him.”
“Because you have to.” When he didn’t get an answer, he added. “I’ll give you time to think it through.”
You wanted to do anything but think. You wanted to have your best friend back — you didn’t care if he was jealous anymore, you never should have. You weren’t Liz, it was okay, he liked her and you liked somebody else.
“Harry, come on...”
But Harry walked himself out and forced your words to die in your throat.
You never thought he would be as angry as you wanted him to be. You got your anger and your jealousy and your dilemma. He had it all clear, you were the idiot who had to get into this mess.
A shower and a portion of your comfort food later, you decided that you couldn’t be inside your head right now and left your apartment.
It was drizzling. Such a perfect weather to be inside doing everything or nothing alike.
You loved being by yourself at your place. The plan for the day had been just that. But as always, Harry made you change them.
Chastising yourself for forgetting your phone at home, you knocked on the door in front of you.
The door opened and you were greeted with a smile.
You wished you could’ve smiled back. “Hi, May, is Peter home?”
She motioned for you to come in. “He’s in his room. Do you want something to drink?”
“Not now, thank you.”
You knocked on his door, hoping he would answer before May could tell something was wrong with you.
Peter yelled for you to come in. You were an idiot, he probably had heard you talking to his aunt.
Pushing the door open, you stuck your head in. “It’s me,” you softly said just to make sure you had his permission to come in.
“Come in, baby.”
God, not that pet name. Not now.
You closed the door behind you before facing him. He was sat at his desk, writing something down on a notebook as he looked at the computer screen.
Approaching him, you leaned in to see what he was doing. You didn’t understand much of it, science was his thing.
He rotated the chair to face you. “What’s up? You didn’t text me...”
“Forgot my phone at home.”
Peter frowned and dropped his pen on top of the notebook before standing up to move towards his bed. “Are you alright?”
Did you look that bad? You weren’t wearing makeup, but he had seen your bare face plenty of times to be weirded out.
“Can I have a hug?”
Now sat on the bed, Peter opened his arms and legs so you’d make yourself at home between them.
And you did. You hugged yourself to him as tightly as you could, afraid he would let go at any moment.
He didn’t let go, you should have known he wouldn’t — your mind was playing tricks with you, that was it.
“What happened? Why are you upset?”
You didn’t have the heart to tell him. Not yet, not when you were scared he would cut you off from his life just because Harry thought it was for the best.
“Had a long day yesterday and didn’t want to be alone today,” you mumbled.
“Why don’t we watch a movie?” he offered. “I’ll let you pick which one we watch while I go get some snacks.”
You whined. “I don’t wanna move.”
“It’s just like ten minutes. We’ll cuddle the entire runtime.”
“You promise?”
He kissed your forehead. “I promise.”
It amazed you how easy it was to trust him, to like him, to want to be with him no matter the moment or the activity.
It took you longer to pick a movie than it took him to come back. You didn’t want any snacks, but you still took them because you didn’t want him to worry too much.
You would worry on your own later.
Peter hugged you from behind, resting his chin on your shoulder. His hands rested on your belly as he watched the movie, giving you butterflies every time he laughed against your skin.
How were you supposed to give this up when it felt so good?
════════════════════════
Mary Jane sat across from you, playing with the glass between her hands. She was listening to you, but by the way she was tapping her fingers against the glass, she was dying to interrupt.
You went on and on because you still couldn’t believe Harry would make you choose between him and somebody else. It didn’t even make sense when he had thrown you and Peter to the side when he started dating Liz.
When her time came, Mary Jane spoke, “You shouldn’t care about what Harry says.”
“I care more about the fact that I ran to Peter like a fucking idiot.”
“He’s your boyfriend.”
You knew she was trying to be the voice of reason, but no, he wasn’t. That made it worse. “But doesn’t it make it look like I already chose?”
“Kinda,” she conceded. “But that’s not a bad thing necessarily.”
“Harry and I grew up together.”
“And Peter fucks you stupid. They have different roles in your life.”
You remained silent. Your cup was already empty and you didn’t need more caffeine. In fact, a soothing tea would have been a better choice — you needed to drive after this once your sister was done with her friends.
“Do you still like Harry or something? I will kill you if you say yes.”
You got that from her tone, she didn’t have to tell you. “I don’t know.”
“But you like Peter more... Right?”
“Yeah, I do.” Maybe liking was selling it short at this point.
Peter didn’t make you choose, and if anything between you were real he wouldn’t make you choose either. You were so sure that you would’ve bet your own life on it.
That fact was a problem. Why couldn’t Harry be like Peter?
“Maybe I need another opinion,” you mused out loud.
“Gwen will tell you the same.”
“What about Flash? Maybe if he had all the details...”
“Flash will try to convince you to kill Harry in his sleep.”
“You think so?” Of course he would, but you were desperate.
“He’s team Peter all the way. Honestly, I would think they have something going on if Peter wasn’t so into you.”
You avoided looking at her. “What should I do?”
“What do you want?”
“Just... I don’t know. About what? From what?”
“Do you want to choose?”
“No.”
“You could choose neither of them.”
“But—“ You shook your head.
“No, say it.”
“I can’t.”
Mary Jane wouldn’t pressure you to talk, she wasn’t that kind of person.
“At least tell Peter about it before Harry does,” she advised.
“I’ll tell him once I’m done here.”
It was late when your sister met you at your table. Mary Jane had left two hours earlier and you had even entertained yourself looking around a few stores and come back.
You drove in silence, allowing her to talk if she wanted to. Maybe asking something would’ve been better, but you didn’t have the energy to find out who your sister was dating or why she had decided to hide it.
Enough was already on your plate, and you needed to trust her, unlike your parents.
Stopping the car, you waited for her to get inside. Your mom hurried outside the moment she opened the door and walked towards your car.
She made you a sign with her hand, asking you to roll the window down.
With a sigh, you indulged her.
“Dinner tomorrow,” she drily told you. “You should bring Peter, I think it’s time your dad meets him.”
“Mom, I’m not marrying him or something like that.”
“I don’t care. Bring him.”
Great. Another fucking problem you had to deal with now. Your dad had always been clear on the type of person he wanted for you and Peter was not it. A shame, really.
“I’ll ask if he isn’t busy,” you compromised.
She looked happy with that. Your mom wished you a good night and turned around. You watched her get inside the house, wondering if she truly wanted you there the next day or not. You never knew with her.
You didn’t get to talk to Peter that night. Instead of telling him you wanted to see him so you could talk in person, you told him your parents wanted to have dinner with him.
Peter said yes immediately and asked about the dress code. God, you didn’t even want to think about clothes.
And with good reason — it wasn’t fair that everything suited him. There was no color or style Peter couldn’t pull off.
But it was probably for the best, he’d make a good impression that way.
You wanted your dad to like him and your sister to trust him and your mom to laugh at his lame jokes. You wanted them to see the person you desperately wanted to be in your life until your last day alive.
Truthfully, you didn’t care if he had feelings for you like you did for him. You enjoyed being around him, his friendship was enough.
The surprise the two of you got when Norman and Harry stood up to greet you was extremely hard to hide.
Norman gave you and Peter a warm smile. “I told Harry to bring his girlfriend, but he didn’t listen to me.”
You shifted on your feet, using Peter as leverage to ground yourself by squeezing his fingers between yours.
Your mom smiled tightly. “Next time it will be.”
Much like Flash did with you, Norman talked wonders about Peter to your parents.
You avoided looking at Harry with the pretense of being polite by gazing at whoever was speaking. Such gesture didn’t sit well with him and he showed it by standing up and walking towards you.
Harry inhaled deeply. “Can we talk in private?”
Unconsciously, you turned to look at Peter. He patted your thigh in encouragement.
“Sure,” you feigned enthusiasm.
You walked across the house in silence, wishing he would tell you to forget about what he said before.
Harry stared at you as you looked around the backyard. Not only were you avoiding speaking first, but you were confused as to when the lighting fixtures had been changed.
The spot you were awkwardly standing at had witnessed many secrets being exchanged between you. Perhaps it would be witness and accomplice of your fallout too.
“So you’ve made your choice.”
“Harry...”
His furious eyes bored into yours. “Why the fuck did you bring him?”
“I wanted to,” you confessed. “Mom told me I should and I agreed.”
“We never bring dates tho dinners like these. We promised,” he reminded you.
“He’s not just a date, this is different.”
“I didn’t invite Liz because I keep my promises.”
“You didn’t invite Liz because you didn’t want to.” You hated that he couldn’t own up to his mistakes with her when he loved her so much. “Stop holding a stupid promise I made when I was six against me.”
“You wouldn’t have liked it if I brought her here while you were single.”
“You stopped talking to me the moment you started dating her. I would’ve expected it.”
“So you went and tricked my best friend into a relationship.”
Was that he thought about you? That you manipulated or forced people to be around you?
“Your best friend? You barely talk to him anymore, Harry. And don’t you dare tell me it’s Liz’s fault.”
He ignored your first comment. “Now I will get in trouble with her for not taking her here if she sees pictures.”
“Call her and tell her the truth. Or blame me, I don’t care.”
“It is your fault,” he bitingly said, “you brought him to something special for us.”
“I didn’t even know you’d be here! And honestly, you should be happy for me.”
“I would be if he wasn’t my best friend.”
“Again with that...” You sighed, hoping you could find the right words. “I don’t want to choose, Harry, and it fucking hurts that you from all people are putting me in this situation God knows why.”
“I’ve told you before, it’s because Peter is—“
You interrupted him, “Peter being your best friend doesn’t matter, he’s not going to drop you like you dropped us.”
“I know I dropped you for a while, but Liz needed my attention.”
You didn’t blame him for focusing more on her, or for wanting to spend most of his time with her, but you knew for a fact that Liz made time for her friends; Harry could’ve done the same.
You started tearing up There was the problem, Harry couldn’t make time for you or Peter or Gwen even when he was free.
Harry stammered, but not a single word came out of his mouth after that. It only made you cry harder. Did he not care even a little bit?
“I’ll give you a moment alone,” he finally mumbled.
You walked further down the backyard, cursing yourself for crying and for wearing uncomfortable shoes. You were supposed to look pretty and taller, not to ruin your makeup and walk around furniture and plants.
You sat on the couch before deciding to lay down on your side. You used to do that when you were a kid too. You’d wait for the pool to be ready in that position and you would lay on your back when you wanted your mom to ask if something was wrong.
Right now, you weren’t sure what you wanted. You definitely didn’t want to talk to whoever the approaching steps belonged to.
You still looked up as a figure stood before you.
Peter crouched down and reached over to wipe your tears. The gesture made more tears come out.
“It’s okay,” he whispered, placing a hand on your waist and slipping his other hand to your back to make you sit up. He sat down beside you. “Come here.”
Peter brought you closer, making you rest your head on his shoulder.
“I don’t understand why he’s making me choose between you and him,” you lamented.
“He is?”
Fuck. You had assumed Harry had told him and that was why he was there. “I didn’t know how to tell you...”
Humming, he rubbed your arm up and down. “You can tell him the truth if you want.”
You lifted your head off his shoulder, searching for his eyes. He didn’t seem to mean it in a bad way. You shook your head.
“Are you sure? I can tell him if you want.”
“It would be pointless.”
“I don’t like seeing you cry.”
“We should change the subject then.”
“I didn’t mean it that way. I just...” Peter pursed his lips, second-guessing his next words. “It pains me to see you upset.”
“Peter,” you pleaded, “don’t do this to me.”
“Don’t do what?”
“You’re making everything more difficult than it already was.”
He slanted his head, taken aback. “Because I care about you?”
“Because I think I’m in love with you.”
Peter blinked rapidly before his eyes started dancing all over your face as though he was waiting for you to say something else.
But you didn’t have much to say anymore. All your cards were on the table. Although you had to admit his lack of response would drive you insane if he continued looking at you like that.
“You don’t have to say anything,” you lied. “I’m okay with being just friends. I just thought you should know.”
“No, no, no.” He shook his head, taking himself out of his self-absorption. “I feel the same, I promise! But... I don’t want to ruin your friendship with Harry.”
“So you’re making me choose too?”
“No. I just don’t want you to regret being in a real relationship with me because you lost your best friend.”
“It wouldn’t be your fault.”
“Yeah, you’re right...” Peter looked up at the sky and huffed a laugh.
You mirrored his movement. The sky was clear, allowing you the privilege to gaze at the stars.
“Remember that night I walked you to your place and we stopped in the middle of the street to look at the stars?”
You giggled. You had been on the verge of crying that night after Harry ditched you for Liz if it hadn’t been because Gwen distracted you. “Yeah, I remember.”
“Should I have kissed you that night?”
You weren’t sure, it was hard to know if you would’ve kissed back or not. You wanted to believe you wouldn’t have, but who knew. “Does it matter?”
“No.” Peter twisted his body and cupped your cheek so you’d look at him. You softly smiled at him and he gave you a small kiss. “Not anymore.”

The Plan (Natasha Romanoff x F!Reader)
title: the plan
pairing: natasha romanoff x f!reader
warnings: mild swearing, mentions of homophobia, FLUFF with a dash of angst
summary: Y/N has been in love with Natasha Romanoff for a VERY long time and honestly, Tony is getting sick of watching it. Natasha has been in love with Y/N since the very first day and Steve can’t take the assassins obliviousness anymore. Steve and Tony, reluctantly of course, team up to make the pair notice how perfect they are for each other. (OH SHOOT IM SORRY I SUCK AT SUMMARIES WOW)
requested by @iamninaanna:
Hey Sunshine, I love your writing, so I'm here to request something :)
Can I please request a Natasha Romanoff × reader, where the Avengers are playing truth or dare, and somebody challenges Natasha to kiss the reader, or something like that, and then they confess their feelings to one another. I was having something in mind, I hope it's not to specific, that like Natasha rambles about the reader to Steve A LOT, and he's so sick of it, he has to do something about it, while it's the same situation with reader, just that she's talking to hers best friend, which can be any of the Avengers, you decide, and then Steve and the reader's best friend make a plan together, and well, you know the rest <3
Okay, that was a lot, but I'm really excited😊 Thank you if you write it!!
a/n (i think that's what i put when i’m responding, if i screwed it up please let me know, it would be much appreciated) :
hi taja! thank you so much, this is the first time someone has requested something and im really excited. but also terrified. more terrified. reader is a girl but if someone wants me to rewrite this as gender neutral, i can.  hope i do it justice and if your reading this, thank you for reading. if anyone has any feedback, it’s always welcome. okay here i go!!
the story:
Y/N Y/L/N flopped backward on to Tony Stark’s bed, grabbed the nearest pillow and let out a angry scream into the unsuspecting piece of cloth and feathers.
“Woah kid, what’d the pillow do to you?” Tony joked, his eyes still trained on whatever new gizmo he was working on, chuckling at his best friends antics.
“It’s fucking Natasha” Y/N mumbled quietly into the pillow, her voice muddled by the soft white sheets that she buried her head farther in. Tony was silent, the only sounds was the clinking of the Tony’s robots and tools working, so she assumed he hadn’t heard her. Not that she wanted him too anyway.
Y/N was in love with Natasha Romanoff. Head over heels, fully in love with the assassin that she’d worked closely with for the past years. To describe how Y/N felt about Natasha in words would never to how she really felt in justice. Natasha was a tall glass of Coke: Orange Vanilla. Rare, unsuspectingly sweet, and utterly addicting. Her red hair, the black bodysuit, the way she fought, she could take down 10 men on her own, with her bare hands. She was sweet- always sharing her secret candy stashes with Y/N- smart -helping Y/N out when she was still taking classes.
Sometimes Y/N really thought Natasha felt the same way, then she flirted with a guy here and hot girl there and the idea fled from her brain.  Y/N had never seen Natasha have an inclination toward women, she flirted with every living thing. Y/N liked to think it was a coping with feelings for someone and that's why she was so flirty but in reality, Y/N knew there was no way she felt near the same way. She was an extra to the Avengers. And besides, no one even knew she liked girls.
“It’s what, darling?” Tony had moved and was now sitting in front of Y/N, spinning around in his chair like a little kid in their dad’s office.
Y/N wanted to tell him how in love she was with Natasha, she wanted to tell him all the little things she noticed, all the little things she loved. But she couldn’t. How would Tony take it? Tony might take it okay, but the team? Steve? Bucky? They were from the 40′s, women didn’t love other women openly back then, did they still think it was... unnatural? She didn’t think she could deal with being any more of an outcast. Did Natasha like girls? The thoughts were drowning her slowly, cutting off her air supply, the last bit of air building up into a scream that she would never let out.
Tony coughed and Y/N realized she’d been silent for too long. “Tony....” she took a deep breath in, “I- uh-...,” Tony raised an eyebrow, waiting for to go on. Y/N coughed clearing nothing from her throat, elongating the silence before she just spit the words out like hot fire. “I’minlovewithNatashaandIdontknowwhattodo?”
“You’re what?” Tony asked, having caught nothing of that sentence, something about Natasha but honestly he was still lost.
Y/N felt a little better and slowed herself down. She trained her eyes on a seam in the comforter and whispered, “I’m in love with Natasha and I don’t know what to do”
There was a silence and Y/N could feel it smothering her, pulling her into the water, dunking her head under, she was drowning and, and and- Tony erupted in laughter. Y/N’s head shot up and she stared at him, color drained from her face. Tony rocked back and forth but when he came up again, he caught the absolute terror on her face and his smile dropped.
“Y/N?” he asked softy, he stood up, plopping on the bed next to her, “Babe?” Tony tried to catch her eye, ducking his head but she turned away. He grabbed her chin in his large hands, “Babe, I wasn’t laughing at you. God, I’m such an idiot.” he blew out a harsh breath, “I was laughing because I already knew, not because you are in love with her.” Tony felt her face relax and he turned her chin to meet his eye.
“You knew?” Y/N asked softly, tears still gathered in her eyes. Tony’s eyes softened as he saw the tears and he used the pads of his thumb to wipe them away.
“I’m sorry Y/N. I don’t care if you like women. I’ve known you had some sort of feelings for Natasha for a while, you can see it when you look at her. I was just waiting for you to tell me.” Y/N laughed at this now and threw her arms around Tony, who wrapped her up in a hug. “Now, tell me more about Natasha and this ‘love’” he said, his voice muffled by her hair.
~
“STEVEEEE” Natasha groans, letting down her normal assassins façade.
“Mmm” Steve hummed in reply, motioning for her to come in to his room. She smiled and darted to the spinning chair in the corner, propping her feet up on the desk. It was silent for a little bit, the pair just enjoying each others company when Natasha spun her chair around and broke the silence.
“Do you think Y/N likes women?” Steve already knew the Natasha liked women and he was totally cool with it. Nat has been surprised when he had been super supportive but was very grateful for all the love and reassurance he’d given her.
“Nat,” Steve sighed dramatically, “She can’t NOT know your in love with her, unless she’s totally oblivious which she may be...” He turned to face her, jumping on his bed to be closer to her, “You should just tell her”
“But...” Nat frowned, “what if she doesn’t like women? And I creep her out? And..” She stopped as she felt Steve lay a hand on her shoulder.
“How could she not like you?” he questioned, “And trust me, it’s quite obvious how she feels.”
“HOW SHE FEELS?!” Nat practically screamed, so unlike her that Steve leaned back. She cleared her throat, “Sorry- she feels...?”
“She’s in love with you, obviously”
Nat grabbed a pillow from the bed and screamed into it, then looked at Steve, wary, “Really? Y/N with her...” Steve tuned out the rest of what Nat said, he’d heard it all before. Too many times. Nat sighed, in a happy way that Steve had never heard from her before, “Y/N...”
~
Steve knew that this had to end, Natasha and Y/N pretending they weren’t head over heels for each other. He’d heard enough of Nat’s wistful rants, it was so unlike her, it was starting to worry him. If he was correct in his guess, Tony was feeling the same way. So, despite Tony being, well, Tony, Steve sought him out to solve the mess.
~
“Truth or dare, old man?” Clint smirked at Tony, all the avengers had settled for a night in and decided to play truth or dare. Y/N had rolled her eyes at this, they were too old for it, but settled in next to Tony anyway.
“Dare, obviously” Tony rolled his eyes at Clint, eagerly awaiting his fate.
“I dare you to stand on top of the tower and sing at least 30 seconds of ‘Rich Girl’ by Gwen Stefani and livestream it.” Tony laughed at this and stood up. 10 minutes and one livestream later, all of them were laughing harder then they had in a long time.
“Okay, okay, my turn to ask,” Tony smiled, “Natasha, truth or dare?” Steve couldn’t help the smile that overtook his face, the plan was in motion.
“Dare...” Natasha didn’t let her voice waver, her signature smirk on her face.
“I dare you to kiss Y/N”
The whole room fell silent. Y/N’s face flamed and her eyes filled with tears. Was this a joke? Tony knew how she felt. How could he? The eyes in the room were on Nat and her but she ignored them as she got up and ran out of the room. Tony’s eyes widened as Y/N darted through the door.
“Nice going, Tony. You upset her.” Natasha’s glared at Tony, angry. But inside she couldn’t help but wonder if she ran because she didn’t want to kiss her. Maybe she hated the idea. Maybe she didn’t like women after all. Nat got up, she had to face this. “I’ll go get her” She dragged her hand over her face and got up. Tony and Steve exchanged a glance as she left, hopefully this wouldn’t blow up in their faces
~
“Y/N!” Nat yelled down the hall, “It’s me, I’m sorry Tony was a jerk. Can we talk?”
Y/N heard Natasha’s voice and faltered, she had to face this at some point. She took a deep breath, letting the cool confidence she had on missions fill her.
“Yeah, I’m here Nat” She called back and within seconds Nat ran around the corner. Nat’s eyes softened as they looked into Y/N’s beautiful eyes, still just as mesmerizing, puffy and red. Nat took an unconscious step forward, her thumbs caressing the hidden tear streaks. Y/N’s breath caught, her heart flipping at Nat’s touch. Before she could think about it, Y/N leaned up and let her lips meet Nat’s. Nat responded immediately, pulling Y/N to her, wrapping her arms around her, teeth tugging at her bottom lip. Y/N groaned into the kiss, letting her fingers card through Nat’s hair. They pulled away after a minute, smiling like idiots. Y/N looked down slowly before glancing back up shyly at Nat.
“Um... I really like you Nat” She whispered, with a smile
“I really like you too Y/N” Nat chuckled, pulling her in again for a sweet, soft kiss. It said everything they hadn’t said. All the nights of longing, the confusion and the love.
Tony, Steve and the rest of the team watched from the security room, smiling and high fiving at the happy couple.
AHHH I HOPE YOU LIKED IT!! feedback is always appreciated!!

Would you be interested in writing a fic where Gwen has has the baby (and it’s Owen’s). The 126 are in the waiting room and tk overhears them joke about not letting this one near drugs or something and he runs out crying to Carlos and the 126 go to give Gwen and Owen a piece of their mind? Sorry it’s so long/specific x
This took me a long time, and im sorry, but I hope this is what you had in mind 🙃
also- unrelated- but this is how I found out that my sister and best friend learned to play poker while i was in the surgery once so fhfbf
TW: Substance addiction mention,
Since I Wasn’t Born Perfect//1.3k//
"Dad, drive faster!"
“Tk, I'm already speeding."
TK pursed his lips and trained his eyes on his mother again. "Breathe, mom."
"Owen, if you don't drive faster," she manages from the passenger seat. She's holding TK's hand tightly over her shoulder. "I swear to god, I'll-"
She lets out a cry and tightens her hold on TK, who winces slightly. He feels his phone buzzing next to him and he smiles at the name flashing across the screen.
"Hey, babe- ow!" He pulls his hand out of Gwyn's grip and switches his phone to his now throbbing hand.
"Is everything okay?" He can hear the concern in Carlos's voice.
"Yeah, sort of. I can't talk long though."
"TK."
He smiles slightly. "Mom went into labor; we're on our way to the ER."
"Oh," Carlos says. "Do you need-"
"No, finish your shift," TK insists as they pull up to the hospital. "I've got to go. Be safe, I love you."
"I love you too, cariño. Text me updates."
TK shoves his phone into his pocket and helps his mom out of the car. He slips into paramedic mode, spouting all the things that the doctor needs to know. Owen follows her but a nurse steps in front of TK apologetically.
"I'm so sorry, but I need you to wait in the waiting room."
He opens his mouth to argue but nods instead. She leads him to a room full of chairs and panicked families where he sits by himself, leg bouncing wildly. What feels like an eternity later, the rest of the 126 shows up.
"How's she doin'?" Judd asks, sitting next to him. TK just shrugs and tugs at the strings of his hoodie.
"They haven't told me anything yet." He frowns for a moment. "Did Dad call you guys?"
Paul shakes his head. "Carlos."
TK smiles. Mateo and Marjan sit on his other side and Mateo pulls out a deck of cards.
"Slap Jack?"
———
"I'm looking for TK Strand?"
After 13 excruciatingly slow hours, the words are music to his ears.
"That-that's me," he says, scrambling to his feet. "Is she okay? Is the baby? Did something go wrong? Is-"
"TK, let her speak," Judd laughs. The doctor smiles a little.
"Everything went fine; they're both okay." TK lets out a breath. "Do you want to go see them?"
"Yes, please."
"Alright, follow me."
When they get to the room, the doctor leaves TK standing in the doorway. His parents are watching the baby, oblivious to his presence. He smiles a little to himself, taking in the scene.
"Maybe this time we should keep the painkillers on the top shelf?" He hears his father say and TK feels like he was just punched in the gut.
"We can just wrap him in bubble wrap so he'll never need them."
He has never wanted to cry more.
———
Carlos looks around the waiting room, smiling as his eyes land on the members of the 126.
“Hey, any news?”
Marjan looks up from the card game she’s playing with Mateo. “They’re okay; TK just went back.”
He lets out a breath, “Thank god.” Someone bumps his shoulder from behind, rushing past him. “Sorry, I- TK?”
His fiancé turns to look at him and Carlos can see he’s on the verge of tears, relief and pain mixing in his eyes.
“Whoa, whoa, what happened?” TK ignores his question and instead hugs him tightly, burying his face in Carlos’s shoulder. Carlos looks around at the crew- hoping for answers- but they’re all just as confused as he is. “Okay, cariño, you have to talk to me. How can I help?”
“They’re making jokes,” TK mumbles. Carlos frowns and moves back, cupping TK’s face in his hands. The paramedic wipes his face with his sleeves, looking anywhere but at Carlos.
“What do you mean ‘they're making jokes?” Carlos prods.
“My- My parents,” he hiccups out. “They're making jokes about-about painkillers a-and-and bubble wrap- and about not fucking this kid up.”
Carlos can feel his blood boiling as TK breaks down in his arms. He pulls him close, shooting a look at Judd- who looks like he’s about to hit someone.
“Take a breath, Ty,” Carlos says, softly, pressing a kiss to his head.
Judd stands and starts in the direction TK just came from.
“Shit,” Paul mumbles as the rest of the crew get to their feet to follow. Carlos cards his fingers through TK’s hair.
“Hey, babe?” TK makes a noise, then sniffles, but doesn’t move. “I’m really proud of you.”
———
"Cap, you got a minute?"
Judd is leaning against the door to their room, arms crossed. Owen looks up from the sleeping baby in his wife's arms.
"Hey, you guys. Where's-"
"We need to talk."
Owen frowns and looks at the Gwyn and the baby before meeting them in the hall. "Where's TK?"
Marjan waves her hand dismissively. "You're making jokes about painkillers? What are you thinking?"
Owen stiffens. "How much did he hear?"
"No, Cap," Judd says, shaking his head. "That is not the point. You've got a kid who was in and out of rehab most of his teen and adult life and you're makin' jokes?"
Owen scoffs. "I don't need to get reprimanded by my employees."
“All due respect,” Paul starts, “but right now, we’re TK's friends."
"And we're going to treat you like any other asshole," Marjan says.
“Did you just call me an asshole, Marwani?”
She just shrugs. “You thought I wouldn’t call you out?”
Owen looks over the group. “Fine, will you go find TK, tell him I want to talk to him?”
“Carlos took him home,” Mateo says, looking up from a text from Carlos. Owen sighs and shakes his head.
“Okay, I’ll call him. On another note, thank you guys for being here.”
“Of course, Cap,” Paul smiles. “We wouldn’t miss this.”
Judd shakes his head and starts walking toward the waiting room again.
———
“TK, your phone’s ringing,” Carlos says from his place at the counter.
“It’s just my dad,” he mumbles dismissively, his eyes never leaving his computer. “What do you think about orchids?”
Carlos wipes his hands on a dishtowel and leans on the counter. “I think, you’re avoiding things. Again.”
“Mm, oh! What about hyacinths?” TK asks; the wide smile never reaches his eyes. “If we’re going to have a spring wedding, they’d be the perfect table… center decoration thingy.”
“You’re really not going to talk about this?” Carlos doesn’t know why he’s asking; he knows the answer. He’s been trying to get TK to talk to his parents all week. “Babe, your little brother is officially a week old and you have yet to meet him. All because you’re being stubborn?”
“No, wait,” Tk mutters, typing quickly. “What’s that one flower you like? It- like- represents your birth month or something?”
“TK.”
“Asters! Oh, babe, asters would be-“
“Tyler.”
TK trails off mid sentence, his fingers hovering over the keys. “Carlos, I don’t know what you want me to say. I told you I don’t want to talk about it.”
Carlos moves around the table and slowly closes the computer, leaning against the table next to his fiancé- who keeps his eyes trained forward.
“I want you to be okay.”
TK tugs on sleeve and chews the inside of his cheek. “After what happened in New York...my dad was the one who pushed rehab, the-the therapy, who insisted I live with him, you know? And then...”
He makes a face- almost wincing- and sniffles. “Then, he’s making jokes about how I fucked up.”
Carlos covered his hands with his own. “Do you want me to arrest him?”
TK laughs and leans closer to press his head against Carlos. “Could you do that?”
“I can if I want to.”
“What would you charge him with?”
“I’m sure I can find something,” he shrugs running his fingers through TK’s hair. They lapse into silence. “What can I do?”
“You’re here,” TK mumbles, pressing a kiss to his wrist. “That’s all I need right now.”

Chrom (Fire Emblem) - Adorkable prince of Ylisse, why wouldn't you let my male Robin romance you? You've got a cute personality, you're sweet and clumsy, and you've got that one arm all bared for flexin'! Yum. Pack that up and give me two! - 8/10 Would Date
Odin/Owain (Fire Emblem) - This drama queen is a storyteller and a bisexual mess if I ever saw one, and I am HERE for it. I will pretend with you all day, Odin. Teach me magic and tell me of your undying love for me in as flowery language as you want! - 9/10 Would Date
Alistair Theirin (Dragon Age) - Best man in Thedas right here. I love him. I love his dorkiness. I love that he's not afraid to admit he'd rather someone else lead. I love how he's so young but not afraid to take up a cause he believes in. Total king. Will marry. - 10/10 Would Date
Percy Jackson (Percy Jackson) - Those of you who know me might think Percy's too much of a goofball and a dope. Well, you're wrong. I love Percy and I will gladly be his escape from all things mythological while also knowing enough about Greek myth to help him out - 7.5/10 Would Date
Jason Grace (Percy Jackson) - Okay, bud. Jason can be a little bland, I admit. But I still love him for his perseverance and dedication to his friends. I'd love to get to know him better. - 7/10 Would Date
Sokka (ATLA) - Okay, he grew on me after a while and now I love. Let's talk strategy, Sokka. Let me laugh at your horrible jokes - 6/10 Would Date

Tonraq (LOK) - If Hakoda was a snack, Tonraq is a full course meal - look at the size of the man. MMMMM I love him. Waterbender and all around HUNK. And so caring! - 10/10 Would Date and I'm not even gonna dock him for being happily married to Korra's mom
Thor (Marvel) - Chris Hemsworth with long hair and ultimate himbo personality. Nuff said. 10/10 Would Date
Peter Parker (Marvel) - I love this nerd. 10/10 Would... not date because the people Peter Parker dates have a curious trend of dying horribly. Looking at you Gwen Stacy. I like my neck the way it is, so... sorry, Pete.
Pietro Maximoff (Marvel) - We didn't get enough time with this speedy snack. I like his charm and confidence and care for his sister. I wish he'd have at least gotten a real shirtless scene before he died. 8/10 Would Resurrect and Date
Bucky Barnes (Marvel) - Much like Peeta, the trauma is gonna be hard to help with, but I'm willing to make it work. 6.5/10 Would Date
Dick Grayson (DC) - Yes please. Positive, outgoing, friendly, but above all deeply caring and sweet. He's acrobatic and fun, but I feel like he'd love to just relax at home. - 9/10 Would Date
Barry Allen (DC) - Ball of sunshine in nerdy human form. I don't know what more anyone would want in a boyfriend. - 8/10 Would Date
Kyle Rayner (DC) - Admittedly, I don't know all that much about Kyle. But he seems chill and cool and way better than all the other Green Lanterns besides Alan Scott because initially he wasn't affiliated with the Corps so he wasn't a Space Cop. - 7/10 Would Date
Clark Kent (DC) - He's just.... super. And sweet. Yay. 10/10 Would Date

12.“I’ve always liked you, you’ve just never noticed.”
If you were to ask (Y/n) who was the most attractive guy in the castle, she would 1000% say it was Neville Longbottom. For as long as she could remember, she was absolutely mesmerized by him and with time, he had gone from the adorable little guy she’d see in the hall into a charming young man who she could not be anywhere near. Yes he had a tendency to be a bit socially awkward sometimes but if anything, that added to his charm and if anything that made it even harder to talk to him. She didn’t want to have to face such an awkward interaction on why she was approaching him despite them not being friends nor having any classes together.
So she watched from afar, following him around the halls, sticking close to him whenever she could. It wasn’t in a creepy way however! She just found him to be beautiful and she couldn’t help herself. The more she thought about it she did sound like a stalker but that was such a strong word. And if he didn’t know of her existence could there really be any harm to what she was doing? That’s what she thought to herself as she stood behind the pillar, observing him as he conversed with his friends. Neville was currently laughing at something Dean had said as he shoved Seamus. (Y/n) couldn’t help the smile that was beginning to form at the boy’s laughter. His smile was simply contagious, a ray of sunshine indeed! She sighed to herself softly before biting the inside of her cheek.
“I wish he’d smile at me like that.” she murmured softly as to not alert them of her presence. If only she could speak, say even just one word to him. But alas, anytime she even attempted an utterance of a word her brain would short circuit and she went running the opposite way. It just wasn’t fair! She held tightly onto her books as dust fell from above her head, her (e/c) eyes growing wide as dust made its way into her nose. “O-oh no. Please, please ple-” she was cut off by the exact thing she didn’t want, a loud sneeze. She groaned, training her eyes to the ground in front of her. However if her luck wasn’t bad already a familiar pair of brown shoes stopped right in front of her. (Y/n) quickly snapped her head up looking at the boy of her affections. Neville stood in front of her, searching the pocket of vest for something until he pulled out a pale yellow handkerchief.
“You alright, love? That was some sneeze.” He said, holding out the small fabric to her as he offered her a small smile. She was stunned, Neville was talking to her. She kept her eyes locked with him with a shocked expression mouth agape. ‘Don’t just stand there!! Speak! Move! Do SOMETHING!!’. She slowly began to take small steps backwards, shaking her head ‘no’ frantically as she ran off down the hallway not even noticing she had dropped the little brown leather notebook she always kept on her. The gryfindor boy made a soft frown as he reached down, picking up the book. He flipped it open looking for a name relieved when he found a name on the inner cover. “(Y/n) (L/n), 6th year. Huh, I wonder why I’ve never seen her before?” He said to no one in particular as he walked back to Seamus and Dean who were laughing at the scene that had just played out in front of them.
“Geez Nev, we knew you were bad with women but that’s a whole new level!” Seamus choked out through laughs, reaching a freckled hand up to wipe the tears that had formed in his state of hysteria.
“Yeah seriously! What the hell did you even say?” Dean said, coming down from his laughter. Neville frowned some, shrugging his shoulders as he scratched the back of his head.
“I’ve got no clue. I saw she had sneezed and offered her my cloth and after I did that she just ran off! Is there something in my teeth? Do I smell bad?” He questioned, sniffing at his pits to check for any suspicious odor but found nothing but the smell of his body wash and deodorant.
“No you don’t smell bad. Well no worse than usual that is.” Seamus said with a shrug. Neville rolled his eyes flicking him on the forehead with a scowl.
“You’re one to talk! Your natural scent is smoke and sweat, I don’t wanna hear it from you.” He grumbled out, shifting his eyes back to the book in his hands. The girl was clearly frightened of him, how was he supposed to get it back to her? “I just feel so bad, I don’t know what I did to make her so scared of me. I’ll wait a bit before I give it back to her.”
----------------------------------------
And he had done just that. (Y/n) had noticed her journal was missing but didn’t think much of it. She had a habit of losing things and assumed it would get back to her in some way and plus, it wasn’t that important. It was just filled with notes and sketches of the different mushrooms she had found on the castle grounds. Whenever she had a free period or a bit of free time on her hands, one of her favorite things to do was identify rare breeds of fungi and other various plants. And although she had missed doing that, it had only been a week and it's not like she didn’t have parchment. The only thing that was frustrating about that was that parchment and scrolls lacked the same convenience that notebooks had. (she didn’t know why Hogwarts wouldn’t just get with the times. Where were they, Camelot?)However she had faith one of her friends would bring it back to her. (Y/n) didn’t have many which is why she wondered what was taking so long for the return of her notebook.
“Hey guys, have you seen my notebook? You know the little brown one I always carry?” she asked, plopping down on the old worn down couch in the (y/h/h) common room.
“Hmm, nope! Last time I saw it you were carrying it. Why? Did you lose it?” Gwen said as she continued to read her book.
“You’re so bad with keeping track of things. You’d lose your head if it wasn’t on your shoulders.” Marco said, rolling his eyes at his friend's irresponsible behavior.
“Oh come on that was ONE time! When the potion said it’d blow your head off I didn’t think it meant quite literally!” she huffed out, crossing her arms across her chest defensively. Her eyes lit up as she was reminded of a detail. “And besides, didn’t you drink that exact potion afterwards because you wanted to know what it felt like to have no head?”
Marco was silent, whistling as he avoided eye contact with his friend before his eyes landed on a familiar lanky brunette holding a certain little book that had been missing. “Hey, isn’t that the guy you fancy? He’s got your book!” he said, pointing in the direction in which Neville was coming from. (Y/n) gasped, gathering her stuff as she muttered something about ‘being late to class’ but right as she stood up, she was yanked back down by Gwen. “Woah, not so fast track star! How are you going to get your book if you leave?”
“Y-you can give it to me! Tell him you know me. See ya!” she said standing back up but once again, she was yanked back down. “Would you quit it?!”
“No can do buckeroo. You’ve gotta get your book back somehow. Neville’s a pretty honorable guy, I highly doubt he’s gonna give your book to some people who could possibly know you. He’d wanna give it directly to you himself.” Gwen said, still not looking up from her book. (Y/n) let out a defeated sigh. She was right. Neville is the type to make sure to get back a lost item to the person themselves to avoid any chance of them not receiving it. She knew that better than anyone.
Neville wiped his free hand on his pants leg, eliminating the thin layer of sweat that had gathered on it. He was nervous to say the least. It wasn’t that he didn’t have any female friends, it was just that the female friends he did have didn’t look at him like he was you-know-who himself. Since their last meeting, he had thought about the girl a lot. He couldn’t recall seeing her before and he wasn’t the type of person people hated without any rhyme or reason so it baffled him. Someone found him intimidating? That was a new one! Neville had taken the liberty of asking his friends what he could do to be more welcoming for people but they all just seemed to laugh in his face or scoff.
He found the question to be an absurd one for him to be asking too but for some reason, all he wanted to do was be less scary. Less scary and more approachable to the girl so maybe, maybe he could talk to the mysterious beauty who he’d never notice. That was another thing that made him quite angry. In all his years of Hogwarts, how hadn’t he noticed such a rose in its prime? Even in her frazzled state her refinement was more than apparent. She had beautiful glowing (e/c) eyes, the cutest little nose, and two beautiful petals that were more commonly known as lips. Even now as he got closer and she had that same damn look on her face, she was the most beautiful girl he had ever had the pleasure of laying eyes on and he had done a lot more than just laying his eyes on girl’s.
“I-I believe this belongs to you?” He said, holding the book out in front of her. However, all the girl did was stare up at him with wide (e/c) eyes and her pretty little lips parted in horror. The girl to her right cleared her throat, nudging her not so blasé
in her action. (Y/n) shifted to her eyes before quickly bringing them back to Neville as she closed her mouth. “Well it’s not that I believe it belongs to you, I know it’s yours. You dropped it when you ran away from me the other day.” He said looking away as he scratched the back of his head with his hand, running his fingers through his luscious locks of brown. “Now that I think about it, that doesn’t automatically make it yours. I’m sorry for assuming! You could’ve been holding onto it for a friend or or-”
“It’s hers. Thank you Neville, that was very kind of you and I’m sure (Y/n) appreciates it. Right (Y/n)?” Gwen asked, handing her the book from the boy's hands. (Y/n) just continued to stare. No movement, no indication that she did appreciate it.
“I’ve always liked you, you just never noticed.” she said softly, continuing on with her intense gaze. Her breath hitched as her eyes almost popped out of her head, both hands flying to her mouth. Not one person spoke, all her friend’s and Neville were just as shocked as she was at the announcement. “No, no, no. Fuck!” she mumbled with a great emphasis on the last word. She quickly stood up, running away making sure to not forget her book this time.
(Y/n) continued to whip and run through the hallway, going as fast as her legs could carry her. She paid no mind to where she was going and quite frankly she didn’t care. Anywhere far away from Neville was good enough. If him catching her behind the pillar that day was the biggest embarrassment of the year, this was the biggest embarrassment of the century. How could she speak so freely, so carelessly? All those years of sneaking around, admiring him from a far were thrown down the drain. Things would never be able to go back to how they were without him noticing her there. She slid down the wall, pulling her knees to her chest as she sobbed loudly. It didn’t matter, no one came to this hallway so she didn’t have to think about what would happen if someone heard her. She sniffled, wiping her nose on her sleeve before glancing at the book at her side. Out of a fit of rage she picked it up, throwing it at the wall in front of her. She watched as the book fell with a thud, pages open to a random observation she had made about a spore specimen.
“I’m starting to think I’m bad luck. It appears as though anytime I’m around, you’ve got tears coming out of those pretty little eyes of yours.” Neville said softly, kneeling in front of the girl. (Y/n) brought her head up, (e/c) eyes staring into hazel ones.
“You...you think my eyes are pretty?” she questioned, tilting her head some as she sat up a bit straighter. Neville reached forward, gripping her small hand in his much larger one.
“Not just pretty, the prettiest. After I met with you that first time, I couldn’t stop thinking about them all night. Despite how horrified you looked at me, they were still the prettiest shade of (e/c) I’d ever seen.” He said, smiling softly at the girl’s flustered expression. “You know I’m a bit relieved to know that you like me.”
“R-really? Why’s that?” (Y/n) questioned, gripping his hand back as he helped pull her off the ground.
“Because, that means you don’t think of me as some scary monster! I was beginning to grow quite worried, y’know?” He said, chuckling a bit. (Y/n) gasped, smacking him on the shoulder a bit.
“Hey! I was not that bad….was I?” she asked, looking into his eyes. Neville bit his lip, looking away from her. “Oh come on! Can you blame me though? I’ve had a crush on you since we were on the train to Hogwarts for the first time. I remember I was so angry that I wasn’t the one who found Trevor for you.” she said, clinging onto his arm a bit. Neville looked a bit shocked at that revelation. Most girls didn’t pay him much attention till around 5th year, had she really liked him for that long?
“Does that mean that this,” he leaned down, pecking her on the lips before pulling away, “Was your first kiss?” He asked. (Y/n) had that same expression she had during the encounter a bit ago however this time, something was a bit different. She gripped his shirt before bringing his lips back down to hers kissing him with feverish intensity. Neville let out a small moan, gripping at her waist tightly as he pinned her against the wall causing her feet to dangle in the air.
(Y/n) was right on something, things would never be the same. But sometimes change was good. That was proven to her as Neville had his tongue down her throat.

Initiative - Harry  Bingham
Request: 26 w harry bingham? ☺️
A/N: My first time writing The Society. I played with the wording of the prompt a little to fit the story better.
✰ ✰ ✰ ✰
“Well, aren’t you looking great.” You laughed, walking into the bedroom on the second floor. While every other room in the house felt like it was being taken over by kids you could barely remember going to school with, this room was untouched. Save for, of course, one occupant who was laying in the king sized bed, one foot sticking out from under the covers, “Kelly really did a number on you.”
The lump on the bed groaned and rolled over, revealing your best friend. He sat up, glaring at you as he combed his hair with his hands, “I don’t give two shits about Kelly.” He muttered.
“I can tell.” You replied, sitting at the end the bed, “you’re obviously coping really well. It’s applaudable.”
“What do you want?” Harry groaned, sitting up in bed. He just wanted to go back to sleep. To lay under the covers until all these people were out of his house and his parents were home. He just needed to rewind or fast forward, whatever would get him home faster.
You turned to look at him, getting a better picture of your friend’s current state now that you could see him clearly. Mussed hair, bloodshot eyes, he looked like he hadn’t bathed in days. You couldn’t help the frown that crossed your face at the sight of him. It wasn’t that you expected Harry to be taking any of this well, he’d been on a rampage since the first night, but this was worse than you thought.
“I wanted to make sure you were okay, I know this shit is scary.”
“Oh do you?” Harry laughed, “you know what fucking shit is going on out there? I heard you agree with Cassandra that we should all be sharing houses. Thanks, this is fucking awesome.” He shouted, startling you slightly.
“Yeah I did agree with Cass...I think we need to be proactive about what’s happening.”
“Great well, in the meantime my house is full of fucking people and all my friends are running around play pretend with Cass.”
“You need a serious reality check babe,” you replied, “whatever is happening to us...we need to be proactive and Cass is the only one doing anything. Now...come on, get up and get dressed, you’re making me depressed just sitting here.”
“Some friend you are.” Harry grumbled, throwing himself back down on the bed and pulling his blankets up once again.
You’d been friends with Harry forever, your parents worked together, you had almost always ended up in the same class, it was just meant to be. Or at least, being friends seemed meant to be for him, since he jumped at the opportunity to date Kelly, and had been since freshman year. You, on the other hand, existed in some romantic cliche universe where you were totally head over heels for your best friend.
“You can’t sulk forever.”
“Did you only come over to bother me?” He asked, muffled slightly through the blanket but you understood him.
“No, I came over to tell you that I cannot possibly stay in my house one more day-”
“See it’s driving you crazy too.”
“Have you ever roomed with Gwen, Olivia, and Madison?” You replied, “I’m about ready to eat a bullet.”
Harry moved the blanket away, sitting up once more and scooting himself to the end of the bed to sit beside you, “let me get this straight...you come over here, bitching to me about how I should follow Cassandra’s leadership but then you hate it too?”
“I don’t hate it. I think it’s a good idea...I just wish I had gotten better house mates. Besides, this whole thing is insane Harry, we’re all just playing it by ear.” You admitted. “Have you talked to Kelly? What’s she doing?”
“I’m over that.” He replied, getting up and walking to the mini fridge he had in the corner to grab a bottle of water, he could feel the headache setting in now that he was on his feet.
“You’re over that? Please...this place really must be turning everything upside down if you’ve decided that you’re over Kelly.” You almost couldn’t believe your ears when he told you and you definitely didn’t want to get your hopes up. Just because he was ‘over’ Kelly didn’t mean he was ready to fall into your arms.
“Yeah well, believe it.”
“So what then, she breaks up with you and just like magic you’re cured?” You joked, “no more begging for her to come back and crying over her in bed? Cause I’ll say you were doing a bang up job when I came in.”
“I told you that wasn’t about her. Besides, I have feelings for someone else.” He replied, shrugging as if it was totally obvious that he was thinking about someone new so soon after he and Kelly broke up.
“Wow, you move fast.”
“Yeah well after Kelly broke things off I kind of realized that it might not be her I was so in love with all this time.”
“Mystery crush have a name?” You asked, watching him as he came to sit down next to you again. “Or you gonna keep that a secret from your oldest and dearest friend?”
“My oldest and dearest friend who’s jumped ship to Cassandra’s side.” He replied.
“You’re such a baby Harry, people need leadership and Cass is leading. Be mad all you want but she’s only doing what needs to be done. You all wanted her to have answers and now you crucify her for it. You better be telling me that I’m this secret love of your life cause otherwise I’m out the door for good. Until you come to your senses.” You said, crossing your arms.
Harry nodded his head, lips pursed as if he was thinking about what you had said before he finally opened his mouth, “you are.”
“What?”
“You are...the secret love of my life.”
“Don’t fuck with me Bingham. I'm not even in the mood for your shit today.” You replied.  You weren’t going to sit here and fall for some bored practical joke that he and all his buddies could laugh about later.
“I’m not fucking with you, I’m serious. Kelly breaking up with me was the moment of clarity I needed.”
“You sound like your mom.” You laughed.
“Come on, you seriously don’t believe me?”
“No.” You shook your head, there was no way you were going to believe something as outlandish as Harry liking you back. “It does fuel my theory that we’re in some kind of parallel universe though.”
“Parallel universe?” Harry laughed, “we’re not in a parallel universe, this isn’t a sci-fi novel. And I’m being serious. I like you. I’m not fucking with you...though I wouldn’t mind fucking you.”
“Oh god, you are the same Harry,” you laughed, standing when he scooted closer to you. “there’s no way I’m even kissing you after you’ve been cooped up under those covers for days. Babe, you smell like a locker room.”
“Fine,” he replied, “I’m gonna take a shower,” he stopped at the door, looking back at you. “Since Cassandra has her new initiatives, you should probably join me. Ya know, to save water.”
“To save water?” You laughed.
“What? You’re the one who told me that I needed to make an effort? You’re not gonna turn around and change your mind now are you?” He said, grinning at you. And damn if his smile couldn’t make you do anything he wanted.

22 and 4 for physical affection prompts?
a hug after not seeing someone for a long time
kissing someone’s cuts/bruises/scratches
Being the guy in the chair meant that Ned had to deal with a lot of the fallout Peter left behind him. He’d been doing it for all of five years, now bringing his skills to Massachusetts and to a much bigger scale.
This is a little outside of his paygrade, though.
Peter had been MIA for three months.
At the beginning, it was just a matter of giving people the hope to push through another day. It was telling people that Peter would be fine, he was Spider-Man and he had all of the avengers looking out for him. Nothing would happen. It wouldn’t take long for everything to go back to normal.
But days kept passing with no word from the Avengers. He knew they were all on it, but they hadn’t found even a trace of what happened to their beloved hero.
May was handling it, spending her days down at the cabin with the Starks to keep her mind off things, and to keep Tony sane. He couldn’t help, not when he’d been hurt so badly fighting Thanos.
It was Ned’s job, though, to take care of everyone else. MJ, Flash, Harry, Gwen, the rest of Peter’s friends. And Harley.
Harley was losing his mind every moment that went by without his boyfriend.
“Hey, c’mon, dude,” Ned says, knocking on Harley’s door. To save money from living in dorm rooms, and to keep Peter’s identity a secret, the six of them got a three-bedroom apartment in the city. “You’re going to be late for class.”
“Not going,” Harley grumbles.
Ned sighs, looking over at where Harry’s sitting at the kitchen table. “You wanna try today?”
Through a bite of cereal, Harry goes, “Nah, you get to deal with him.”
Sighing, he pushes his way into Harley’s bedroom, heart aching at the sight.
Harley’s curled up in the bed, wearing one of Peter’s very old Midtown High sweatshirts, tight across Harley’s wider shoulders. Lights dimmed above, a video on his laptop playing next to him. Upon further inspection, it’s the video compilation from their last week of high school. Prom clips, graduation clips, senior skip day, the homework bonfire, the huge party. MJ filmed a lot of it, but there’s plenty of shots with her as well, camera being passed around. Peter and Harley are hand in hand through most of the shots, never once leaving each other’s sides.
“Harley, this isn’t healthy,” Ned says, sitting down on the edge of the bed.
Peter and Harley have been together since their Junior year, three years now, living together for a year. They won for best relationship in the yearbook, and they’re known to be attached at the hip. The local Starbucks employees know them as Harley-and-Peter because they never go to Starbucks separately. Their room is entirely catered to the both of them. They have an entire life together planned out.
It’s scary to think of just how irreparably broken Harley would be if he lost Peter.
“Anything?” Harley asks monotonously.
“Sorry.”
Ned pauses the video and for a moment, they both stare at the screen, where Peter is shown, arms in the air, smile bright on his face, eyes peacefully shut, fire glowing behind him. Harley reaches out and gently strokes a finger over the screen.
“God, I miss him,” Harley says, voice breaking.
“I know.” Ned feels the grief hitting him now more than ever. He’s been trying so hard to hold everything together that he hasn’t really had the time to think about it. “I mean, I’ve been through him going missing before, I know you have too, but never this long. Never without any leads. Never with this little hope.”
Harley sniffles, looking unbelievably young and hurt, eyes red and hair long and messy. He doesn’t take his eyes off the screen.
“I know you don’t want to think about it, but you can’t destroy your life just in case,” Ned says. “You have to keep going to class and doing your homework and taking care of yourself. You can’t put everything on hold until he comes back.”
“If he comes back.” Harley’s voice comes out dripping with venom. “After my dad left, everyone told me he’d come back eventually. That it was a when, not an if. That it wasn’t a question whether or not I’d see him again. It’s been ten years and nothing.”
Ned feels his chest tighten at the thought of Peter never coming back. “He’s Peter fucking Parker. It’s not an If.”
Harley doesn’t reply.
Eventually, Ned has to give up. He’s going to be late for his own classes if he doesn’t head out. “Harry’s home all day, so ask him if you need anything.”
He makes it all the way to campus, driving a car gifted to him by Tony because Peter never got his licence and somebody needed to be able to take him places. He got all of the roommates some kind of crazy expensive gift when they moved out of state like paying for Harley’s entire tuition.
He’s about to get out of his car, grabbing his bag from the passenger seat when his phone lights up with a text from Sam Wilson.
Immediately, he fumbles for his phone and his keys, restarting the car and swerving to get back on the road.
“What.”
“Get up. Quick shower, get dressed, pack a little bag with extra clothes and the quilt that’s in the bottom dresser of your dresser. Meet me outside, I’ll be there in twenty,” Ned rushes out, feeling a little bad about talking on the phone while driving.
Harley pauses for a long moment. “Please don’t tell me this is just you wanting to get me to class.”
“Sam texted,” Ned says, speeding up to just over the speed limit. “They found him. We’ll meet him at the compound.”
Harley lets out a brokenly relieved sob, gasping out, “Oh god, thank you, oh my god, I’ll be ready. Focus on driving, I’ll see you there.”
Ned tosses the phone onto the passenger seat as soon as Harley hangs up, jittery with excitement.
Peter was okay.
Ned hangs back while Harley goes racing ahead of him into the compound. And right there, standing in the lobby, right in front of the elevators, is Peter.
He’s roughed up, that’s for sure, bruised and bloody, thinner than ever, hair longer than he’s ever kept it and greasy too. He’s wearing a pair of loose sweats, stained beyond recognition, and a thick sweatshirt that definitely belongs to Natasha. But despite everything, despite being missing for three months, Peter’s grinning.
Harley lets out a teary laugh and pushes into a sprint across the lobby.
If not for Peter’s stickiness and super strength, Harley would’ve tackled him right to the floor.
But Peter catches him, straightening them out, laughing softly.
Harley lifts Peter right off his feet, spinning him a circle, arms so tight around his waist. They’re both laughing like they can’t help themselves, just so ecstatic over finally being in each other’s arms again.
“Oh my god, I love you,” Harley breathes out, kissing Peter hard.
Peter smiles too big for them to keep kissing, pressing their foreheads together.
“Could you put me down, babe, you’re kind of pressing on my broken ribs?” Peter says it as a joke, but Harley immediately sets him down, eyes going wide.
“I’m so sorry, are you okay? What happened? Are you okay?”
Nodding, Peter gently kisses Harley again. “I’m just fine, sweetheart. I’ll heal up in no time.”
So carefully, like Peter’s made entirely of glass, Harley presses a gentle kiss to every bruise, scrape, and wound he sees. Hands, arms, head. He even falls to his knees to press extra kisses to his stomach and ribs.
“I’m all better, thank you,” Peter grins, pulling Harley up and into his arms again. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” And then, pulling back and face going stony, he says, “Don’t you ever do that to me again, you jerk, if you ever even get lost at the mall, I’ll have a heart attack and die.”
Peter kisses his cheek. “I’ll be extra careful. I won’t ever leave your side, okay?”

Feathers for the Pillows
Prompt: Hey there, I have a prompt for you if you'll take it! I absolutely loved your wingfics with Virgil, and was wondering if we could have something similar with Merlin? Maybe with his magic slowly turning him into a more ethereal magical being and giving him wings that he has to figure out how to deal with and hide? Possibly Arthur finding out? Thank you!
Thanks for the prompt, babe!

A bird falls out of the sky when Merlin is little.
Merlin didn’t realize it was happening at first.
He was young, still learning how his human body worked, how his magic worked, how to play and run and jump and laugh. His mother looked on fondly and shook her head, wondering how the gods could’ve created such a boisterous little boy and then had the idea to give him magic on top. Perhaps in some way, it was a way to keep himself safe, when he toppled off of shelves he’d managed to float himself up into, or when he fell from trees that he was too young to climb. Or perhaps it was another of their tricks, something to keep the mortals busy and entertained while they plotted. Either way, Merlin has magic and he runs about the woods, leaves dancing along in his wake, the forest itself opening up and welcoming him into its shadows. Patches of golden light draw forth the gold from Merlin’s eyes. The forest breathes.
A bird falls out of the sky.
It lands in front of Merlin, strangely still. It looks at him with dull, cloudy eyes. The light glints off of its feathers. There are three bent out of place. It lies on a bed of leaves and looks at Merlin.
Merlin stops, tilting his head as he looks back. The bird’s eyes are unfocused, staring not at Merlin’s face but through it. The beak is open partway, the head cocked to the side. The wind ruffles its wings. The feathers twitch. It won’t look away from Merlin.
Merlin gulps, reaching out his chubby little hands and taking a step closer. Does the bird want his clothes?
“Merlin?” His mother’s voice comes from far away. “Merlin, it’s time to eat!”
Merlin stops, looking once more at the bird before turning around and running back home. The bird’s eyes watch him go.
 Merlin dreams of flying.
When he’s just turning into a young man, his back starts to hurt all the time. His mother frets that he’s working too hard, but he mumbles that he’s been using magic, he’s not putting any strain on his back. She cuffs him lightly across the shoulder, but the furrow between her brows doesn’t disappear. It only deepens as Merlin’s back worsens, when little lips begin to appear beneath his shoulder blades.
 She sends him to Camelot.
Gaius looks him over and raises an eyebrow—the first time Merlin sees the eyebrow of magical disbelief, but certainly not the last—and points Merlin to a drawing of a man with wings.
“They will grow,” Gaius explains solemnly, “but they will not hurt you.”
“They’re hurting me now,” Merlin grumbles, reaching around to scratch at his back. Gaius stops him.
“Growing pains are to be expected,” he says, “but they will get worse if you do not let them grow in properly.”
“How’m I supposed to do that?”
Neither of them knows. Neither of them knows because Merlin is magic, under Uther Pendragon’s nose, as the servant of the Crown Prince Arthur.
They can’t bind the wings as they grow. They can’t excuse Merlin’s back pain as anything other than back pain. They can only pad Merlin up with ill-fitting tunics so much.
 Arthur doesn’t notice.
After a year, they’re fully grown. The feathers are…unruly, but small enough and white enough that they can be passed off as ornamentation, discarded from some elaborate headdress. The wings can fold up under his tunic and stay hidden, so long as no one touches him.
Well, that won’t be a problem.
He moves through the castle too fast for people to get a good look at him. The knights don’t want to look at him. Arthur only cuffs him upside the head.
 His secret is safe.
Then he undergoes his first molt and he lies in agony for a day, as Gaius tries his best to care for the wings. The feathers overflow, crowding the room, until Merlin can figure out that they can make pillows out of them. It takes a moment for them to appear in the rest of the castle, but Morgana comes by to ask whether she can have an extra one. Apparently, they help with her nightmares.
Merlin is more than happy to oblige, at least until Morgana asks him where he gets the feathers from.
 “Um…”
“Oh, don’t worry,” she winks, giving his arm a gentle pat, “I won’t tell. Just make sure you bring plenty, hmm?”
Morgana touches him. It’s always sweet, just a quick pat on his arm or his shoulder, but she touches him. She notices. Gwen notices too. And Gwen sticks by his side, is allowed to stick by his side, when the feasts and the council meetings happen and they work.
“Merlin,” she admonishes one hot night, “you must take off at least one of those shirts, you’re going to boil to death.”
“I’m fine, Gwen,” Merlin says, wiping sweat off his brow, “I’ll only be cold in a few minutes.”
 His hands are always cold.
The wings don’t like always being cooped up under his tunic, so he stretches them every once in a while. He goes out of Camelot, far away from the prying lights of the high walls, and sits in the forest, stretching his wings. They are a little stiff sometimes, but he works patiently until he can unfurl them painlessly, letting the extra feathers slide off to be collected.
“You really must tell me where you’re getting all these feathers, Merlin,” Morgana remarks one day, “maybe I’ll have to place an order large enough for a shawl.”
Merlin gulps. “I can—I can see?”
“Oh, I’m only teasing,” she says, taking him gently by the arm, “I know you’ve got more important things to do.”
 “Merlin!”
“Like tending to Arthur,” she mutters, rolling her eyes as Arthur storms around the corner.
“There you are, come on. Job for you.”
 “Coming.”
 No, Arthur doesn’t notice.
 The knights…the knights.
Leon notices, Leon notices everything. Although he doesn’t realize exactly what he’s noticing, Merlin watches him approach after a training session and carefully pull him to his feet.
“Can it be healed,” the knight asks softly, far too quiet for the others to hear, “what ails you?”
 “What?”
Leon gestures to Merlin’s back. “I have known men that…cannot be healed as easily.”
Merlin’s shoulders slump. “No, it’s not…it’s the way I am.”
“I understand. Please,” Leon says, resting a kind hand on his shoulder, “do not hesitate to tell me if there are things that I can do to make this easier.”
Leon notices everything, Lancelot notices Merlin.
Merlin doesn’t bother to hide his magic from Lancelot. The man met him and knew, and he takes very great pains to make sure that Merlin knows his secret is safe with Lancelot. Merlin finds himself leaning on Lancelot more than he would care to admit, even going so far as to physically lean on the man. Lancelot never minds, always reaching to stealthily make it a little easier for Merlin to stand. But Lancelot doesn’t put together that Merlin has wings.
“I’ll help you,” Lancelot promises when merlin says he doesn’t want to tell him, “you don’t owe me an explanation.”
Merlin lets himself slump forward into Lancelot gratefully.
Lancelot helps quietly, Gwaine helps loudly.
Whenever Merlin beings to slump, needing a break, Gwaine makes the loudest, most obnoxious distraction he can, be that some loud bawdy joke, some great exclamation, or knocking over a massive shelf of newly polished pie tins. He plays up his clumsiness, his ‘common’ nature, all to make everyone else more focused on him than on Merlin.
“Let them think what they will,” he says to Merlin by the fire one night as they keep watch, “I don’t care. As long as you’re okay.”
 “Even if you don’t…know why?”
 Gwaine shrugs. “I trust you.”
 Merlin smiles.
 Gwaine distracts, Elyan suggests.
The first time Elyan notices Merlin wincing every time something comes near his back, he brings Merlin to the armory and suggests a leather tunic.
“It might help with support,” he says, pointing out the different points on the back, “and give your spine a little less to deal with.”
“…could it be made to fit under clothing?”
“Of course. I’ve got a friend that works down in the blacksmith’s district that makes ones to go under ladies’ clothes.”
Merlin looks at it and promises to think about it. In truth, if it’s going to be fitted properly, they’re going to have to see his wings.
That’s not a risk he’s willing to take.
But he does promise that Elyan can make him something to make things a little easier.
“I won’t pry,” Elyan promises, “but you’ll let us help, yeah?”
 “Yeah.”
Elyan puts things together, Percival pulls things apart.
“Easy,” the knight mutters as Merlin winces, “almost there.”
Merlin grits his teeth and pulls, straining away from the metal digging into his back. Percival grunts, holding it apart.
 “On three, ready?”
 “Ready.”
 “One…two…three.”
Merlin yanks. The metal comes apart in Percival’s hand and the force sends the two staggering apart, panting. Percival tosses the remains over his shoulder.
“That’s the last time I put one of those on,” Merlin grumbles, rubbing his shoulder.
Arthur had the great idea to do full melee drills today. Problem is, with Arthur standing back to watch, the knights are an odd number. Which means that Merlin was placed in a suit and made to hold a lance. The metal pressed his wings flat to his back and squeezed, making it hard for Merlin to stand, much less fight.
Percival had taken one look at him and ushered him away, using his strength to pry apart the pieces to get Merlin free.
“Are you alright,” he asks, using a voice that Merlin has never heard before, “are you very badly hurt?”
 “No, I’ll be fine.”
“Good.” Percival lays a large hand on Merlin’s back, only for Merlin to flinch away. “Sorry.”
“Just…” Merlin shakes his head. “Go tell Arthur I’ll be back in a minute, yeah?”
 Percival leaves with a nod.
The knights notice, even if it’s not everything.
Then Morgana walks in without knocking while Merlin’s wings are out and he freezes.
“Oh,” she breathes, dropping the pieces of fabric she holds, looking at Merlin’s wings spread wide, “Merlin, they’re beautiful.”
Merlin is too shocked to make a sound.
Morgana closes the door softly, walking forward with her hands outstretched. “I won’t hurt you, Merlin, I promise, I just…wow.”
Merlin swallows. “Are you…you’re not afraid?”
“You’re Merlin,” Morgana smiles gently, “how could I be afraid?”
 “They’re magic.”
 “Yes.”
 “And you’re still not afraid?”
“No.” She reaches out tentatively. “May I?”
Merlin shudders as her hands lightly brush one of his feathers. She makes a soft noise.
“These are where those feathers come from,” she murmurs, “aren’t they?”
 “…they’re mine.”
“They’re lovely,” she promises, her smile so wide, “and so are you.”
She giggles as Merlin flushes red.
Morgana vows to keep it a secret, and in turn, Merlin teaches her about magic. Her nightmares fade away as she sleeps on pillows they make together, as Merlin carefully grooms his wings and Morgana teaches him how to embroider. They keep it a secret, under the watchful eye of Gaius, sewing, and plucking and talking in the night. Gwen comes to join them, smiling wide and bringing Merlin into a gentle hug as he shows her for the first time. Her hands at the base of his spine feel warm.
 “Do they hurt much?”
“Not anymore,” Merlin says, giving them an experimental shake, “I’ve…gotten used to it.”
“Well, you must let us help you when they hurt,” Morgana says, rethreading her needle, “if only as an act of repayment.”
 “Repay—Morgana…”
“You’ve given us the gift of your feathers,” Morgana interrupts, “not to mention all that you’ve done for Camelot. For me.”
 “And for me.”
 “But I—“
“You’re lovely, Merlin,” Morgana promises, smiling when Merlin flushes red again, “let us help you?”
And what can Merlin do but say yes?
They do help, but there’s not a whole lot they can do. It just…it hurts sometimes.
The feathers will itch. The wing joints will grow still and stiff. And when the wings grow still and stiff they’re just pounds of dead weight, almost impossible to hide. Merlin grows slow on these days, unable to bound up the steps after Arthur or dart about the castle. Instead, he sits and does small chores, like polishing armor or writing speeches. Morgana will sit with him if she can, sewing. Gwen will fetch her own chores and they’ll do them together. The knights will sit with him and keep the other eyes of the castle away.
 Arthur…Arthur doesn’t do much.
And really, really well…isn’t that why it might hurt so badly?
Merlin spends nearly all of his time with Arthur. He knows more about Arthur than he does about nearly everyone, maybe even more than he knows about himself, and Arthur just…doesn’t care?
That makes the wings grow a little heavier.
One day, it’s very bad. Merlin can’t roll over, can’t dislodge the weight on his back. It makes it hard to breathe with his chest smashed as it is against the mattress. He stares at the wall, blinking, unfocused, not seeing anything but the vague light and dark spots against the solid gray of the stone. It hurts. He feels dull, lifeless, unable to summon any energy to move.
His eyes begin to cloud over as he lies still.
Soft footsteps outside his door. The door opening slowly and closing just as slowly. The creak of the floorboards as someone walks to sit next to his head. Red jerkin. Brown trousers. Golden hair.
 …Arthur?
“Hello, Merlin,” Arthur says softly, “hard day?”
Merlin nods, confused as to why Arthur’s here and why he’s not shouting at Merlin to get his lazy arse out of bed.
 “Are you feeling alright?”
The answer that Arthur probably wants is ‘yes.’ The honest answer is ‘no.’ The very  honest answer is ‘why do you care?’
Merlin settles for shaking his head.
Arthur makes a noise of sympathy, reaching forward to card his fingers lightly through Merlin’s greasy hair. His fingers reach through to Merlin’s scalp, scratching gently.
 “Arthur?”
“Yes, Merlin,” Arthur says immediately, “it’s only me. Does it hurt very much today?”
Merlin frowns. How…what…what is Arthur doing?
 “Did Gaius…Gaius tell you?”
“No, Merlin. I figured that when you didn’t show up today that something might be wrong, so I…came to check.” Arthur smiles and ruffles Merlin’s hair. “Good thing I did.”
“Not—I meant about my—my—“
Merlin runs of out air, twisting his head as he is to look up at Arthur from his position on his stomach.
“Easy,” Arthur says, gentling Merlin’s head back to the pillow, “rest your neck. I’ll talk, yeah?”
Merlin’s too exhausted to do anything but obey.
“No, Gaius didn’t tell me about your back, Merlin.”
 “…Morgana?”
 “No, not Morgana.”
 “Gwen?”
 “Not Gwen.”
 “…knights?”
“Not the knights either.” Arthur’s hand reaches down to scratch at the base of Merlin’s head. “No one had to tell me, Merlin.”
 But Arthur…but he…
“You never noticed,” Merlin mumbles, half into the pillow, “not…ever. Not before.”
“About your back?” When Merlin nods, Arthur huffs gently. “Merlin, I noticed the first day you arrived in Camelot.”
  What?
“I just…well, I figured you were…that you may be ashamed of it,” Arthur continues, a little sheepish, “or maybe I assumed you’d prefer if I never brought it up.”
 “S-so…so you…”
“I always knew, Merlin,” Arthur says softly, “but I…no, I’m—I’m sorry I never said anything.”
 “…oh.”
Arthur shifts, getting off the stool to kneel on the floor, his face next to Merlin’s, his hand still rubbing the base of Merlin’s skull. “Can I make up for that a little by helping now?”
 Merlin nods.
“Right,” Arthur murmurs, “now…thank you, firstly. Second, have you tried getting out of bed today?”
Merlin shakes his head, growing more and more miserable.
 “Alright…would you like to?”
 “…’ve got work.”
“That wasn’t what I asked,” Arthur chides gently, “I asked if you’d like to get out of bed.”
He smiles kindly when Merlin seems to flounder for an answer.
“I can help you get out of bed if you like,” he says, “but…you are also allowed to lie here for today. Especially if it hurts. I’ll stay with you.”
 “You…you will?”
Arthur smiles, petting Merlin’s hair again. “Of course.”
Merlin closes his eyes, losing himself in the gentle pats. It…it might be nice to try and sleep again, but…but his wings might just hurt more when he wakes up.
“No?” Arthur nods when Merlin shakes his head. “Alright. Let’s…let’s see if we can at least sit you up.”
He tucks a palm under Merlin’s head and holds it steady, reaching low and wrapping his arm around Merlin’s waist.
 “Hang on.”
Merlin’s back strains with the wings as Arthur begins to sit him up, only for Arthur to grunt and pull harder.
“You’re much heavier than you look, Merlin,” he says worriedly, “are you—are you sure you’re not hurt?”
 “I—I’m—“
 “Are they broken?”
 Merlin freezes.
He looks slowly at Arthur. Arthur raises an eyebrow.
“Come on. My Merlin doesn’t get to grow wings and not have me notice.”
 “I—I—“
“Shh,” Arthur soothes, his arms still tightly around Merlin, “it’s alright. Do I look angry?”
 “N-no, but—“
“I’m not. I’m worried.” Arthur nods at Merlin’s wings. “Are they broken?”
 “N-no, just…just stiff.”
 “Alright. Can I…can I help?”
 Merlin swallows. Arthur…Arthur knows. Arthur’s not angry. Arthur’s not…angry?
“My Merlin,” Arthur murmurs, gently bumping his head against Merlin’s, “of course I’m not angry, you’re lovely.”
He chuckles when Merlin flushes red again, adjusting his grip to help the blanket stay on Merlin’s shoulders.
 “Will you let me help?”
Merlin’s fingers tighten in the front of Arthur’s jerkin and he nods.
“I’m going to take the blanket off now, okay?”
The blanket falls to the bed and Merlin’s wings unfurl, spreading as wide as they can, trying to stretch. Arthur’s breath catches in his throat as he holds onto Merlin.
 “Oh, Merlin…”
“They hurt,” he mumbles, “they hurt.”
“Alright,” Arthur mutters to himself, “alright. Let’s do this.”
The bed sinks behind him as Arthur carefully positions himself between the wings. He reaches out to gently card his fingers through the wings, going right to the glands.
  “Ah!”
“Sorry,” Arthur mumbles, “I’ll be more gentle.”
“How—“ Merlin shudders and gasps as Arthur’s warm, warm hands move easily through his wings— “how do you know how to do this?”
“The stable has hawks,” Arthur murmurs, gently sorting out the stiff joints, “and I learned how to tend to them when the stable master taught me to hunt.”
 “So—so you—ah!”
Merlin can hear the smile in Arthur’s voice as he rubs his thumb around the base of the joint connecting Merlin’s wing to his back. “Yes, Merlin, I know what I’m doing.”
Merlin has never been touched like this.
Arthur knows just how to stroke the muscles to get them to relax, to pull out the broken and crumpled feathers and work the oil throughout. He knows just how gentle to be when he swipes his thumb across the gland, knows just how firm to be when he runs his fingers through the base of the wings. He knows Merlin, knows how to pause when Merlin shudders too much, how to reassure him that he’s almost there, just a moment, please.
“H-how—“ Merlin bits back another gasp as Arthur straightens a particularly stubborn feather— “how did you n-not tell me?”
“I thought you were ashamed of them,” Arthur says softly, resting his hands at the base of Merlin’s sides, “I didn’t think you wanted me to.”
 “I…”
 Was he?
“…I was ashamed of my—of the magic,” he stumbles, “and I…”
“Oh, Merlin,” Arthur says quietly, reaching forward to wrap his arms around Merlin’s waist, “you should never be ashamed of your magic.”
He chuckles when he feels Merlin gasp under his hands.
“That one you can blame on everyone else not doing a good job of hiding it.”
“Don’t be mad at them,” Merlin blurts, “please, it’s not their fault—“
“Shh,” Arthur rumbles, reaching up to scratch at the soft part of Merlin’s wings again, “I’m not. Just...you can exhale now, Merlin, it’s alright.”
Merlin breathes. His wings flutter a little. A tiny gold glimmer darts around the feathers. He relaxes back into Arthur’s arms, letting Arthur hold his weight and his wings.
 “You’re alright, now…”
A soft knock on the door.
 “Who is it?”
 “Morgana.”
 “And Gwen!”
“Merlin?” Arthur chuckles when Merlin just mumbles. “Come in.”
Morgana giggles as she catches sight of Merlin all sprawled out on Arthur’s chest. “Seems Arthur started feather collecting earlier, hmm?”
 “Feather collecting?”
“You didn’t think those pillows made themselves, did you?”
Gwen rolls her eyes as the two bicker, reaching to gently pull Merlin forward to hug him.
 “You feeling a little better?”
 “A little.”
Gwen smiles. “I’m so glad. You look…a little lighter too.”
 Merlin smiles back.
 “He hasn’t told you either?”
Merlin glances around to see Morgana shaking her head. Arthur huffs.
“Well, now we both have to ask him.”
Merlin’s face goes pale. “A-ask me what?”
“Don’t look so afraid,” Morgana says, “it ruins your lovely face.”
 …well, he’s not pale anymore.
 “Stop flirting with my Merlin.”
“Oh he’s your Merlin, now, is he?”
 “He’s always been my Merlin.”
“What did you want to ask me,” Merlin interrupts before his face can get any redder.
“Right.” Arthur claps his hands. “Can you fly?”
 “What?”
“Can you fly?” Arthur gestures to the wings. “Or are they just there to be pretty?”
 “What happened to no flirting?”
 “Oh, that’s just for you.”
 “Rude.”
“I, um…” Merlin twists his hands together. “I’ve never tried.”
Morgana looks at Arthur. Arthur looks at Morgana. They both look at Merlin. Gwen giggles.
 Merlin sighs.
 “Tomorrow?”
 “Tomorrow.”
 Merlin dreams of flying.
