At the core of all things, it seems to me, everything is made of an element.

However generic or what combination of sorts is the catastrophe and beauty of the multiverse. I feel I have started somewhere in the middle though still trying to figure out how to begin. So, I will start with something familiar, where I started many years ago, with the elements.

As a child of the 90’s and trendy fan of The Craft (also aging myself), I found what I thought was kinship within a coven and learned many things the hard way. Of all the lessons and illusions broken my connection to the threads of nature remained. Realty is nothing like the movies. Our waking to the world from childhood cuts the slumbering cord that connects us to the sleeping dragon, Tiamat who’s coiled tail is the Milky Way galaxy.

Terrible is a spirit torn from what it knows. Psychology tells us trauma creates clusters shoved into tiny boxes we store away to process later. I know I tend to just forget.

Inherent power over our own mind, body and spirit.

Before the days of Kings whom claimed it their right to bestow this gift, it was given as sacred from the earth to use in union with Her to co-create reality.

the problem with reading and writing leading to a strong vocabulary is that you tend to know the vibe of words instead of their meanings.

if I used this word in a sentence, would it make sense? absolutely. if you asked me what it meant, could I tell you? absolutely not.

5 of Swords. Murder of Crows Tarot by Corrado Roi.

Amongst the more active Goddesses in the pagan community, the Goddess Morrigan screamed out to me when I saw this deck. Those that are familiar with this dark goddess know that she is associated with battle, death and of course crows and ravens. Who doesn’t love these beautifully mysterious birds?

I don’t know that I can call her one of my patrons since I have other deities more constant than She. When she does return, I am always full of awe and recognize her as the great Queen and commander I will follow. But, I am also always wary because she when she does show up things are about to get real real.

Part of my practice that involves the use of tarot is as a tool for communication. I asked the Goddess Morrigan what it is that she wants me to reflect on.

5 of Swords: Any time I draw this card I think of conflict or imbalance. Within the suit of swords, we are in the realm of air, this energy governs things like thoughts, logic, communication and the mind. This card is also associated with Venus is Aquarius, the planet of love and beauty lost in a world of detachment and unfamiliarity.

In this deck the card symbolizes the need to swing your sword merciless and true against the inescapable onslaught of the cruel world outside. Use force and win. The ferocity of this message is to use the element of air to attack one’s opponents. Force of willpower alone can move mountains, so they say. Strategy and forethought are always great weapons to sharpen too.

Reality is What?

Reality is what you make it, so they say.

But, one cannot control the heaviness of the tides. This world too cumbersome to shape like clay.

Perhaps we can make sense of the ocean as she crashes into the sand, forever reaching for the earth and sky and ask ourselves why.

Perception a needle prick anticipating blood. Forgetting to remember the illusion. Remembering only what we think we have learned.

Inside unique devices of deception, the mind swirls and creates the most elaborate of mazes. How can anything else be created from concrete walls and stones less paved?

What’s in a Picture?

A Druid friend of mine posted this image to my FB wall, she knew I would love everything about this piece. She had no clue as to why there is a triangle above deaths head though.

My reply, “This makes me think the triangle is as fire representing the light of knowledge. The element of phosphorus also includes a triangle, symbolizes light and illumination of the mind. The demi god Lucifer, which is the planet Venus, is the morning star, aka the light of knowledge. Since the art has death as the main figure focus, the overall message I get is that of rebirth, the potential of greater knowledge after the ending of one state of mind.”

Goddess Sol has been on my peripheral during this eclipse season. Typically I am called to chthonic and chaos deities, but the serene energy of Her light radiates a sphere of otherworldliness that is still unfamiliar to me.

What is Your Collecting Addiction?

I really should not have purchased two more decks. Yes, I was lured in because they were all on a going out of business sale. I have my primary deck I use for ritual and reading's. These new sets of art and arcane symbols will join my others to collect dust. But, this one in particular had no other descriptions than this image. I did a tineye reverse image search and nothing. Looks like it will be my very merry unbirthday after all.

Full Moon Advice For a Friend

Last night a friend reached out asking me how best they can make the most out of the upcoming Scorpio full moon. Here was my message:

🌕 🦂 ✨ 🌙 🦂 🌝 🌟 🌙 🦂 💫 🌕

“Hmmm. I think it really depends on what you’re feeling called to do. If you want ideas for something witchy I recommend Googling full moon rituals for inspiration. Maybe create an altar space with items that represent each of the four main elements (five if you want to add metal) for balance and aesthetics. My practice with my grove as a Druid is about building reciprocity with the powers that be. You could start now by giving offerings, like lighting candles or saying prayers, to the moon itself as an idea. I very rarely work with full moon energies though. It’s too saturating and too heavy on me. I usually can’t wait until it’s over. Some people feel alive and rejuvenated during full moons. As a pagan my practice is very deity centric so if I do any kind of lunar work it is often with Goddess is Hekate. But that lunar work is during the dark moon when there is no moon.”

Not sure how great my full moon advice is considering is not a regular practice for me. But I at least hope it is inspirational.

Something of a Bio...

"Not another one, oh dear.."

My hometown is Northern California. I lived here my whole life not traveling far. I guess some could say I live in a cave. But what might one find in a cave? Dragons perhaps?

My inner world has always been filled with an array of colors and shapes that have inspired and terrified me for years. I was drawn to paganism and the occult at a young age. Today I have served as Scribe and Seer for my Druid Grove for about 8 years while obtaining various Magi degrees within the Fellowship of (Goddess) Isis as I work towards possible ordination, if I chose, as Priestess. I am a womb twin survivor (fraternal), childhood dysfunction and dv survivor, multiple near-death experiences have taught me I apparently don't die easy. A mother of two teens, caregiver of my often brutally neurodivergent son. An artist, estranged sister, daughter of the dead who roam the halls of the ancestors. I have slowly been stepping out of this broom closet my whole life. Seeking true authenticity, whatever that might be. I realize now I can only truly escape the damage done to my brain by the trauma is by using different parts of it. So, I am here now sharing my creations with all of you. These wights that wish to flee these spaces where they are created and trapped inside my mind.
