I found this really cool post about the highest-rated book by a local author in every country, and can I just say.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love how this is foreshadowing that a day will come where Bungou Stray Dogs and Mo Dao Zu Shi will be the acclaimed literature everyone is forced to read in highschool.

The importance given to beauty is weird. It is almost like women need to be pretty. If someone does not have conventionally attractive features, people will still be like, 'oh she is beautiful in her own way' which means no matter what a woman needs to be beautiful. This level of importance is not given to intelligence, education, smartness or creativity. Nobody says 'oh don't believe what others are saying, I know you are creative." It would be wonderful if people actually made these characteristics mandatory but instead all a woman needs to be is pretty. There is no harm in that but it's just that it is a very superficial yardstick of measuring a person's worth.

kissing headcanons
Tumblr media
Bit different from the original outline I have/had planned, but I figured this would be just as sweet
Tagging @rosesbyophelia
Kissing Namor would be like….
You feel every fiber of his being poured into his kisses.
Hot and passionate, memorizing even the tiniest curve of your lips
It’s irresistible, tempting but all-consuming
You can feel his arms and hands wrap around you, pulling you close as if the ocean would sweep you away.
He’s told you why he’s called “Namor” yet you feel all that love pouring over you like lava. Washing away the fears and doubts from each other.
What spurs you on even more are the moans that you hear.
It’s deep, imploring and you crave to hear them even more. Your desire him and everything offered

I cannot stress enough the importance of transformations that are not necessarily redemptive.
- Cold and misanthropic villains who learn to care for the people close to them
- Coerced villains/minions running away–not to help the heroes, but to help themselves
- Villains who have dedicated their life and existence to The Cause who develop agency, who begin making their own decisions for their own reasons, whether or not they are GoodTM decisions
- Bigoted villains who learn to stop being a dick in that specific area
- Villains otherwise driven by hate who reevaluate their motives if not their purpose
- Heroes so dedicated to The Cause that they stop caring for the people around them
- Heroes who stop caring in a healthy way, who become jealous or excessively competitive
- Characters on all sides with trust issues who learn to trust, if only one or two individuals
- Selfish characters who learn self-sacrifice, even if it's only for fellow team members instead of a hero team or a Noble CauseTM
- Characters who stand up to their abusers/refuse to be taken advantage of anymore in their interpersonal relationships outside the context of switching sides
There seems to be a growing expectation and even demand in fandom that villains be redeemed/redeemable, that heroes only become more GoodTM, and that anything else is somehow shortsighted or glorifying bad behavior. But people don't only grow in one direction, and personal progress doesn't have moral requirememts. Personal change doesn't have moral requirements.
People can learn to love, to trust, to grow, to think for themselves without experiencing a major paradigm shift, and people don't always experience major paradigm shifts for the better. The fight for GoodTM and its necessity can actually be highlighted by a hero who goes bad and must then be defeated by former allies. Agency can actually be more profound if it doesn't conform to expectations or tropes within the story, because it becomes twofold: the character in question liberates themselves not only from the restrictions imposed on them by their circumstances/leaders but from those imposed by the reader/viewer as well.

All the writing advice that says every scene has to move the plot forward, every scene has to serve a purpose, every scene has to accomplish something...
I'm not saying it's not true. It mostly is, yeah, kind of. But so much of that advice misses something really important, and I think following that advice without this extra layer can kill your voice and strip all the personality out of your writing if you're not careful. So here is my writing tip: yes, every scene should serve a purpose. But remember...
Trying to make the reader laugh is a purpose. Making the reader cry is accomplishing something. Giving the reader a moment to breathe and live in your world helps carry them through the plot.
I see this most often with writing advice about writing sex scenes: only include them if they serve a purpose. Okay? Maybe the purpose of them is to make the reader horny.
"I want a reader to feel *this way* when they read my work" is just as valid of a guiding principle for your writing as any beat sheet you want to follow for plot, or story structure, or character growth. Considering all of those elements in tandem, balanced with one another, will make your writing richer and will make your voice more unique and memorable.

How to make your Readers Feel Emotions for Dummies
(AWWWWW :]]]] Edition)
So... Do you have any cute animals or children in your story?
No?
Then I can't help you go away
Kidding, kidding, you can make AWW moments in your story no matter who or what your characters are.
First
You have to have at least semi-Likable characters (Pets, adorable animals, or children make this wayyyyyy easier)
Likable characters make your readers want the characters to be happy! You can't really get AWWWW moments if you want the characters to suffer
Most AWWW moments come from Shipping or cute baby moments
Second
Decide what Type
whether you want it to be an AWWWW Romance moment, or an AWWWWW Baby moment
There's also #3 I forgot to mention: AWWWWW comfort/sentimental moment
Third
Decide which character the AWWW moment will happen between
Couple, Father/child, mother/child, friends, siblings, doesn't matter - Well... it obviously matters Which AWWW moment you're going for but... yeah
Fourth
What's Gonna happen?
For romance it's usually cute fluff moments - Want examples? Too bad, look it up on Pinterest! No, no, Joking. Here's a list:
Small cheek/hand kisses
A small, 'I love you so much.'
Wearing other's clothes
Forehead touch
Cuddling
Holding BOTH of each other's hands
FACE TOUCHES - Cheek/jawbone is best
Leaning into touch
Careful dancing
For parental figure and Child it's usually a comforting trust moment, a protecting the child moment, or a 'make me proud' moments
I fucking love these and I'm gonna go on a rant Addict, Tired, bitter mentors are so fucking great. There's so much you can do with them Mostly there's 'make me proud moments' The first 'I approve' moment There's 'you've made me proud' moments There's also 'Fine, you're my kid' moments And comforting trust moments hit so much harder when the mentor rarely shows affection.
It's just so... :D
For Friends, You should do with comforting moments, or a 'you don't know how much I care about you moments
Fifth
Soft Phrasing = soft emotions
Use long, calm sentences. No exclamation points or question marks unless it's dialogue. Keep everything smooth and fluid.
Tears are a powerful tool so use them sparingly
Use short words, and use cuter, softer words, metaphors, and adjectives.
Sixth
Have a visible result
Smiles, cute thoughts, cute dialogue, different feelings or actions towards other characters
Stuff like that
AWWWWW moments can be very powerful to characters as they can for real people, they can change so much with little words.
They can be turning points, displays of affection to the audience, turning points of affection, showcases of change, strengthening of relationships, a final goodbye, they can be so much in just so little.
Good Evening and Good Luck with your Writing My loveable Writing friends! you can do this! <3

Writeblr Introduction
Tumblr media
Please reblog!
Hello Writeblr! I'm oliveScales, and I'm currently writing and illustrating my webcomic named "The Forgotten Legends of Chima", or TFLOC for short.
I'm a fan of mythology and folklore, and I'm trying to study a few of them for my worldbuilding. Worldbuildings with focus on culture are my favorite! I also really like stories with animals and anthropomorphic characters. I'm an american who enjoys studying other cultures, and am currently studying the Portuguese language!
The Forgotten Legends of Chima is a fantasy science fiction story about the land of Chima, home to eight animal tribes. Here, you'll learn about their cultures, witness intriguing and complex relationships between them, and understand the importance of diversity.
TFLOC is an interpretation of Legends of Chima's storyline, which means that worldbuilding and characters are going to be developed alongside new content to add further depth into the story, such as unimportant/secondary characters becoming important and vital to the story.
Synopsis
In a world where civilizations clash for Chi in order to survive, Laval, prince of the Lion Tribe, strives to overcome every war and all injustice without ever gripping a sword. It all started when Laval witnessed evil and inequality with his own eyes. Since then, he has promised himself to protect anyone, no matter who they are, from suffering and that he will restore peace in the land of Chima. These are the Forgotten Legends of Chima.

“What about the words ‘aroace’ do you not understand?” the hero cried, throwing a punch. “I’m just not interested in you like that!”
The villain dodged and threw a punch of their own. “Oh, no, I understand.” They tried to kick out the hero’s legs, but the hero jumped away. “I’m so honoured that you felt safe enough to come out to me, and that you had the patience to explain what those terms meant.” They launched at the hero. “I’m sorry if that was frustrating for you.”
The hero blocked the villain’s fist and raised their knee in a kick. “Then why won’t you leave me alone?”
“Well” – punch – “I was doing some reading on the subject,” – kick – “and I came across the phrase ‘queerplatonic relationship.’” – punch – “I just wanted to check that such a dynamic also disinterests you, before I gave up entirely.”
The hero stopped, because, one – the villain had done research on this? And two – yes, the hero did want a QPR. Quite desperately, in fact. But it was so hard to find people who had even heard of the term, let alone were interested in that kind of relationship.
“Do you mean it?” they asked, feeling breathless.
The villain took advantage of the hero’s stillness, and hit them right in the face.
“For you, dear? Of course.”
Part 2
____________
A/N – This feels like as good a time as any to mention that I’m aroace. (Btw, would you say that aroace is one word or two? I struggled to decide.) It’s rare to see a-spec representation, so I thought I’d write my own. I plan to write more stuff like this in the future, including the often unmentioned identities like demisexual/romantic, cupioromantic/sexual, aroallo, etc.
I honestly love talking about a-spec identities. So if you have any questions, feel free to ask. I’d be delighted to answer.
Edit: Hey, if you liked this snippet, you might also like this aroallo one I wrote

How To Write Smut - According To Your Story
Disclaimer that this guide contains and explains sexual content, so minors please do not interact, and if you aren't a minor but this topic makes you uncomfortable, here's a heads up so you can ignore as needed. Thank you!
Well hello. Bit of a change in speed here, but I wanted to get it out of the way. Smut is definitely a bit of an in-high-demand commodity—that’s not to say that one HAS to write it, but for those of you that want to and don’t really know where to start, I’d like to break it down and remind you that just like the other forms of writing—it’s not that complex.
I won’t sit here and give you hoards of do’s and don’ts—because I believe in the philosophy that the ‘right way’ solely depends on what you’ve got going on. I don’t know what you’re trying to write…so instead—I’ll run through a few scenarios, and explain where specific ideas may or may not work.
So let’s start with the basics, and use my favorite word.
WHY?
Why are you writing smut? Do you just want to play out all your dirtiest fantasies, or are you on a mission to tell a story with it? I’m not judging, both ways are equally interesting, but before we proceed—we’ve got to establish a sense of why.
In my opinion, half of the battle of writing smut comes from the sheer fact that you aren't sure of it.
If you’re in the market to write a smut scene for a story that possesses a plot, or a oneshot that possesses a plot,  it’s important to remember that no matter the subject of the story—I would recommend refraining from writing pure porn.
If you’re confused about what that means, I’m talking about down and dirty” ___ slurped ____’s ____ until ____ couldn’t help but just cum EVERYWHERE!”
Continuous explanations such as this one throughout the entire scene—in my eyes, classify as porn. WHICH AGAIN, is alright, but if we’re sticking this in as a plot-mover, that can throw a wrench in the works.
I wouldn’t recommend utilizing “Porn Without Plot” to support your plot.
Doesn’t that even sound funny when you read it? haha.
Displaying some form of emotion would be a good way to go about it. Something to help the reader make sense of why what’s happening is happening. You know, maybe something that happened in the story lead up to whatever's happening.
Remember that the word emotion does not solely mean love. Hate is an emotion, angst is an emotion, happiness is an emotion, awkward is an emotion.
Depending on what your plot requires—-base your smut on those elements. It’s really not much different than the rest of your story when you think about it. If you were able to write characters at the dinner table, you can do this. It’s essentially the same process.
If your characters are displayed as shy and demure and afraid to hold hands, are they really about to metamorph into plain freaks one chilly afternoon? You always want to keep your characters consistent and realistic.
Giving demure characters a porn scene is really going to throw that off. The same goes for the other side of the scope. If your characters are two enemies that hate each other to the core…I’m not quite sure giving them a lovey-dovey sex scene is going to move your plot—or make any sense.
I’m not here to tell you what cliches to stay away from or what vocabulary you should or shouldn’t use—it’s your garden…plant whatever you want in it. I’m just here to generally guide you along. So with THAT being said, let’s move on to the second version we just talked about.
Porn without plot. I don’t need to explain that, it explains itself. If you’re planning to write this—I recommend spending all your time on the explicits, and executing your subject matter.
Are these just two characters having sex in a movie theater? Alright then. Write that. Don’t try to make the reader care about the emotions—because honestly if I came to read porn without plot, I don’t care.
I don’t care how the sex unlocked past memories of a character’s ex and I don’t care whether they see each other again. (That’s a lie… I love a good plotted smut. BUT PRETEND I’M A READER ON A MISSION FOR PURE PORN!)
So don’t spend time trying to relay all of that to me, relay the rawness of what’s going on. Explain every grip, grope and SPECK OF SPIT!
As far as the imagery and explanation aspects of it all… remember how I earlier mentioned that smut follows the same rules of generally just writing a regular scene?
I’m going to be releasing a guide for imagery and explanation soon—so if you’re in a crunch about how to create imagery, that should help. I already have a dialogue guide out, you can find that HERE.
I hope that this gave you some inspiration, and you don’t feel so lost. Like I said, I’m not here to tell you what cliches to use or what vocabulary to use, that’s on you, it’s your story. The goal today was to inform you that smut is not that intimidating to write, so if you've been mulling it over...give it a shot!
Thanks for tuning in!

A thread you tied to my heart and stitched it together,
A thread you pulled out of my heart and left it in tatters,
A thread you stuck to the fringes of our clothes and bind us in a tremor,
A thread you cut from your mouth and severed me from heaven forever.

Hope this request is okay but i completely love how you write vox machina <3333 could you write something with a really shy reader, who almost never talks, how the party react too "oh no theres only one bed" trope! Lol
I LOVE this trope!!
Tumblr media
Traveling had its ups and downs, but it was worth it at times. At least you all huddled together for warmth. Until now. Finding an inn keep was rare, let alone getting some beds too. All the others had their own, except for you two. Despite the budding feelings on both sides, which were STILL left unsaid, you two are left to bunking with each other for the night. Not like anything could happen….
Percy 👓 - he felt like he would vibrate off these walls! You were so close to him, and this cot only pushed you closer to each other. Trying to make light of a slightly awkward situation, you gesture for him to just lay down and relax, much to his hesitation. In making small talk, Percy prays that you don’t see the tinge of pink on his cheeks. Slowly but surely, Percy let’s his hands wander into yours, fingers intricately locked as you both doze off.
Keyleth - she’s a flustered mess, an impromptu flower crown sprouting around the crown of her head. You’re a bit anxious yourself, but you want her to feel comfortable around you. Offering to braid her hair, the Druid begins to calm down as she slowly nods off. Melting into your touch, she leans into you and sighs dreamily in your arms as you both sleep.
Grog - he had never been shy about sharing a bed, but it’s different when it’s your crush. Would he take up too much space? Would he accidentally roll onto you in his sleep? Thinking he was keeping this to himself, said thoughts were actually said out loud, much to your amusement. In a gesture of goodwill, you snake your arms around Grog to reassure him. “I bet you give the greatest cuddles.”
Scanlan - completely psyched out to share a bed with you! Sure he talks a big game and all, but it’s different now?? You’re exhausted and slowly starting to doze off, still cracking jokes with him, and everything feels all different! It’s soft, quiet, intimate. Your tired voice utters out “sing me a song, Scanlan”, to which he happily obliges. All before he begins to nod off as well.
Vex’ahlia 🏹 - similar situation to Grog’s. She and Vax have had to share before, but now you’re here and she’s here. And there’s so many feelings (mostly on her end) that are just bubbling! You can feel her nerves radiating, offering to braid her hair as an intimate gesture. Nervously, Vex agrees as you fiddle with the beads and feathers in her hair. Seeing the tension roll off her, you try to make small talk, anything that shows her you feel the same. Words carefully chosen, you insinuate what you know and that if she wanted to, you’d reciprocate. Soon, she’s curling into your arms, sprawling along the duvet. She wanted to kiss you. But not yet.
Pike - the sweet gnome cleric is more excited than nervous to share a bed with you. A “finally!” moment for her as you both snuggle in for the night. She’s a bit jittery but also wanting to hold your hand. Not too long, you’re both nodding off as you feel her curl into your arms and side.
Vax’ildan - it has all the makings of a perfect scenario. Yet why does he feel like he can’t? There’s some things he wants to say, well a lot of things, but he sees you getting tired for the evening and he doesn’t want to burden you for the night. Carefully sliding next to you, you keep it light-hearted with a few jokes as you try to fight off more of the yawns and some shivers. Generously, the half-elf throws that slightly tattered but fluffy cloak over you as if it’ll be a regret if he doesn’t. Seeing you claimed by sleep leaves him restless for just a few spare moments. As his eyelids slowly grow heavy, Vax reaches out to your hands. Fingers slightly reaching yours as they brush against another.
