Please - Vi x Fem!reader
Summary: If you knew it all then, would you do it again?
Warnings: Harrassment, sexual assault (attempt and flashback), panic attack, vomiting, angst, some comfort and fluffy at the end.
A/N: Something like this happened to me last month so, here's a vent. This is the part 1
Tumblr media
Your classes were over and now you were going to the library to draw like you usually do while your girlfriend still didn't come to pick you up. It's really late now, so the place is empty.
After a little while you'te drawing, a random guy sits beside you.
''Hey, pretty thing. What brings you here?'' He says getting closer to you.
''I'm just waiting my girlfriend.'' The distance between you and him bothers you a bit, but you ignore it and keep talking. ''What about you?''
''Just hanging out.'' He gets even closer ''This dress suits you perfectly, you know.'' He touches your tigh and starts to caressing it.
''Umm thank you, but can you stop touching me like this?'' You try to remove his hand of you.
''Nah I don't think I'm doing too much. You said you're waiting for your girlfriend, right?'' He draws up along your tigh.
''Please stop.'' You cry out feeling him touching the edge of your panty and play with it.
''Oh calm down, darling. I just wanna show you what a man can do.''
''I told you to stop, why don't you fucking hear me!?'' You cry louder.
Before he could say anything, you hear the door opening. He loses his grip distracted by the noise, and you pick up your stuff as fast as you can and run out of that place going straight to the bathroom.
When the booth door shuts, you drop your things and fall on your knees feeling sick of that situation. It doesn't take too long till you're throwing up, and while it happens you can't stop thinking about what just happened and about what could happen if you couldn't get out of there. A few seconds after you stop vomiting, you sit on the floor and feel the tears falling down your cheeks and your breath getting heavy.
You decide to call Vi. You need someone to calm you down, thank God she didn't take too long to pick up the phone.
Hey, Cupcake, where are you? I thought you would be in the library, but I can't find you.
I- I'm in the bathroom.
Wait- are you crying, Y/n?
I explain when we get home, just come already, please!
Ok, I'm on my way, don't move.
When Vi come into the bathroom, she tries to talk to you, but you can't do anything that isn't cry. Vi don't forces you to say what happened, she just get you in the car and take you to your shared apartment.
''What about you take a shower before we talk, hm?'' Vi whispers gently massaging your shoulders. You nod and head to the bedroom.
You stop in front of the mirror and stare at your reflection. Vi enters the room and hugs you from behind.
''I shouldn't have worn this dress.'' You say in a slightly cracked voice.
''Why? You look amazing in it.''
''But if I wasn't using it maybe nothing would've happened.'' You sob getting away from Vi's arms, sitting on the bed ''I shouldn't have go at that library by myself.''
Vi sits by your side and hugs you, placing your head on her shoulder. ''Someone harassed you before I arrived, didn't they?'' Her question makes you cry even more. ''Who the fuck did this to you, Y/n?''
''I- I don't know who he is. He just came and tossed his hand under my skirt.'' Telling Vi how everything happened makes you cry even more into her neck and starts.
Vi holds you until you stop crying and shaking, using one hand to rub your back and another to hold one of yours.
When you finally calm down, you grab your stuff to take your shower. It was hard to do, all the thing of taking off your clothes, then see and feel your body naked triggers you a lot, makes you feel extremely vulnerable, weak even.
When you get into the room, you don't see Vi there, only some of her clothes and a note on top of it.
'You can wear this clothes of mine if you want, I know you feel more comfortable wearing them when something like this happens :)'
You dress up and head down stairs; there you see Vi in the kitchen boiling some water. She notices you're at the door and goes to you.
"I'm making some tea for you."
''Oh, thank you, honey. That's sweet of you.''
''I don't think you have to thank me for this, but you're welcome.'' Vi chuckles hugging you as carefully as possible. ''Well, about what happened earlier... I know how part of this feels Iike, and I can't promise something like 'I'll never let it happen again', but I promise I'll be here if it happen one more time okay?'' Vi caress the back of your head all the time she's saying it. She only stops when you delicately push yourself from her.
''Okay. I know people don't it to you so often, but when it happens I'll be here too.'' You say holding Vi's hands.
''I'm glad to know it, darling.'' Vi giggles and kisses your forehead. ''I love you.''
''I love you, too.''

Something is Missing
Stephen Strange x OC
Spoilers for: Spiderman No Way Home
Warnings: A little angsty, and it's just a little blurb!
The OC is a Shield Operative and Part-time student at Kamar-Taj.
Tumblr media
It starts with a whiz.
Followed by a crack,
Then a pop.
Greer Fraiser is following the noise like a hound hunting a scent.   Nervous energy crackles at her fingertips as she crosses the threshold of the Sanctum’s main sitting room. The lights were dimmed and the space was otherwise quiet, making the light from the portal seem devastatingly bright.
“Stephen-” Her voice is quivering with anticipation. “Are you alright? That fight was all over the news… and those lights.”
She is referring to the fight on the statue of liberty. Most of the news footage was blurry, taken with shaking phone cameras, but Greer had seen enough to know it wasn’t pretty. Spider-man had been wrapped up in a fight against multiple super-villains from across the multiverse.  “You’ve been gone for over twelve hours, you realize that? Why weren’t you answering your phone?”
“I dropped it in the Grand Canyon.” It was the first thing he could get out, and as he brushed past her to sink into an armchair, he failed to look her in the eye.
“What were you doing in Arizona?”
“Dangling. That kid is good with geometry.”  Greer scarcely got to hear a break in his voice, a particularly pained rasp.  She’s at his side in an instant, crouching in front of his seat with a hand resting atop his knee.
“Stephen, what’s wrong?
The sorcerer is turning his head, attempting to keep his watering gaze away from hers. His hands are bawling into fists upon his lap, and he nearly winces away when she extends her reach to brush her fingertips along his scarred knuckles.
“Steph,” she tries again, “you can talk to me. Was it the battle? Those lights and that spell.  Was it too much?” Greer was certain he’d exerted past his limitations. Without the energy to pool magic into his ailing body, his nerve pain was likely reaching new heights.
“Let me get you some warm compresses and some medicine.”  She’s unable to rise as Stephen finally engages with her.  His shaking hand bolts out to clasp against her shoulder, bringing her in to lean against his legs.  She responds in kind by resting her chin atop his thighs, staring up at him with concerned blue eyes.
“Those were tears in the multiverse.” He explains, at last, taking his hand back to teem it through her white hair instead. “I managed to get there before they opened in full, but how I managed to put them together… It’s all hazy.”
“You were likely full of adrenaline and the entire thing was sure to be a blur… Maybe your memory will come back in a few days?”  Neither of them had a way of knowing that his spell put a gap in their memories. Even as days passed, Stephen would continue to feel something missing.
“Maybe, but it’s more than that. I feel…”
“Feel what?”
“Sad.”
There’s a pause shared between them, as the first of many tears begin to streak down his cheek. Greer reaches up to stop them, brushing them away with the pads of her thumb. “That’s okay, I’ve got you.” She didn’t know what else to say, seeing him cry was as rare as him showing pain. “I’ve got you, Stephen.”
She rises to her feet now, stepping around his chair to wrap an arm around his shoulders.  He leans into her touch- a show of vulnerability that became him- and hides his weeping face against her chest.  They stay like that a long time, his miserable sobs mixing with her soothing encouragements.  Something was missing, they both knew, something that served to break a sorcerer’s heart.

My sweet Emilly
Billy Russo / Reader
Rated: PG (for now)
A/N: So I’m feverish and been feeling like absolute rubbish since getting my 2nd covid shot last Thursday. I can’t sleep and my brain came up with a cute Dad!Billy story. I might do a second part if you guys like it, we shall see!
Tumblr media

Follow me!
“Just where do you think you’re going dressed like that exactly?” Billy asked his daughter sternly, looking up at her over his glasses. Glasses that he was still getting used to by the way. You kept telling him he looked like a hotter version of Clark Kent but it still seemed to hurt his pride. Billy Russo needing glasses, insane right? What was even more insane was just how much his sweet Emily looked all grown up these days. Her seventeen birthday last month had hit him like a train. He stared at her and let a long sigh out.
Emily reappeared, taking a few steps backwards, tugging down on her green hoodie dress and rolled her shoulder nervously the doorway of the living room. A little nervous gesture she shared with her father that always made you smile.
“It ain’t that bad Billy,” you said looking up from your crochet project on your lap to his daughter’s outfit, your step-daughter.
“It is on the short side but she’s smart and careful, isn’t that right, Millie?” You said, giving her a quick look with a wink.
She grinned back at you before turning to look at her dad.
“It’s still warm out Da…and I have a pair of leggings if it gets colder later,” she said, opening up her backpack and showing him a black pair of leggings, smiling back at him. He snorted at her innocent-like face, he knew better, she was after all his own daughter.
“Fine. No heels. Wear those ridiculously worn-out converse of yours,” he said letting it go and dismissing her with a smirk. She zipped her bag up and ran to give her dad a quick kiss on the cheek. She was out of the room as fast as she entered it.
“Back at midnight! I’ll be with Devin!” Emily said loudly already halfway to the front door.
“11PM!” Billy yelled right as the front door closed with a loud thud. He rolled his eyes and shook his head.
“Wait, who? The fuck’s Devin? Wasn’t it that Jay-” he said with a deep frown turning to look at you.
“Jeremy,” you corrected him going back to your crocheting.
“Jeremy…last week?” He continued giving you a stern look for correcting him that made you chuckle. He rolled his eyes heavenward, taking his glasses off and rubbed his tired face with a groan. You reached to caress his soft hair and smiled. You didn’t comment, you knew he could be a bit overprotective of his Emily sometimes but dads were often that way with their daughters. It reminded you of your own dad and  the shit you did in your youth. It was a wonder he still had some hair left…
*****
Billy woke up abruptly and sat up yawning, looking at the alarm clock on his nightstand next to the still turned on lamp.
1:25AM
He had fallen asleep in bed reading while waiting for Millie to come home. He turned his sleepy face to you sleeping soundly next to him. He smiled gazing at your serene face and caressed the side of your face softly. He heard a loud thud. He frowned and turned around instantly to the door, listening intently. He quietly got out of the bed, tiptoeing to the door, silent as a cat.
“Ow!” a hushed voice said after another loud thud. Billy yanked the bedroom door open and walked face to face with his daughter. His daughter who definitely wasn’t in her pajamas, dressed exactly the same as earlier and who reeked of alcohol and cigarettes.
She looked up at her dad glaring at her with disappointment etched all over his face. Her dark brown eyes filled with tears and hurt behind her drunken state. She broke down in sobs and hid her face in her hands. Billy’s heart broke at seeing her cry like that. He was very angry and disappointed at her for coming back home so late and drunk on top of it. He sighed and walked to embrace her tightly as she cried. She held him tightly, her warm tears running down his chest. He kissed the top of her head and rubbed her back.
“You know better than that, Millie. Walkin’ home drunk instead of calling me or Y/N,” he said softly yet sternly. He cradled her head in his hand and moved to look at her tear stained face. Her chest was racking with sobs and her lower lip was quivering as she looked up at him. He had a feeling she wasn’t crying only because he caught her drunk and way past her 11PM curfew.
“What happened? Talk to me princess,” he asked with a sad frown, brushing her hair back from her face. She broke down into even louder wails and he had to hold part of her weight to help her stay upright.
You put your mid-thigh satin robe on and walked to see what was going on. The light of the bedroom pooled in the darkened hallway as you opened the door wider and you gave Billy a sad smile. The poor thing was so upset and in no state to think clearly. You took a few steps and rubbed her back.
“It’s okay princess, why don’t Y/N help you get ready for bed and we can talk tomorrow,” he said, giving Emily a concerned look. She nodded as he rubbed her tears away with his thumbs. He gave her a kiss on her forehead and let you take her to her bedroom. You grabbed his hand on the way and gave it a squeeze before letting go.
You walked a wobbly and sniffly Emily to her bedroom where she flopped and sat down on the edge of her bed dropping her bag with a loud thud. You walked to her own connecting bathroom from her bedroom and grabbed a small square towel. You ran it under the cool water and wrung it. You took a bottle of tylenol knowing she was gonna need it in the morning and a tall glass of water too.
You walked back to Millie who was undressing and putting on her pajamas. You were somewhat impressed she didn’t fall on her butt taking her leggings off before stepping into her pajamas shorts.
“Here, drink this you’ll feel better,” you said softly, handing her the glass of water. She nodded and drank half of it before putting it down on her nightstand next to the two Tylenol for tomorrow morning. You rubbed the cool wet cloth on her forehead and neck and she sighed before letting another sob out.
“I’m-I’m sorry I woke you up. I didn’t mean to get home alone so late…Da looked so upset,” she said, hugging you and cried on your shoulder. You hushed her soothingly and rocked her a bit, hugging her back.
“He still loves you, Millie. He’s just disappointed you came home so late and in a very vulnerable state I might add. Now, I’m not gonna scold you, it’s not my place but something could have happened to you baby,” you said brushing her hair back.
“We much rather have you wake us up late to pick you up than having you stumble drunkenly home alone. What happened? I thought you were hanging out with Devin?” You asked, helping her get in bed. She started crying again at the name and you knew right away the poor girl was heartbroken.
“W-we went to this party together a-and it was really fun. Everything was great, we’re great friends and I love when Devin’s around, you know?” She mumbled, looking at you with her father’s dark brown eyes filled with hurt.
“B-but we drank and I-I I thought Devin liked me a lot too and we kissed but-” She didn’t have to finish her sentence, you knew. You sighed and cradled her small frame in your arms.
“She abruptly stepped back, pushing me away a-and calling me names and stuff. S-she left a-and I didn’t have money for a cab because I paid the fare to get there. She was supposed to pay the cab fare back a-and then I didn’t want to call Da and have him angry at me.” She said, wiping her wet face in her pillow. You nodded, brushing her soft hair soothingly.
“Get some good sleep now, we’ll talk more tomorrow, alright? You suggested standing up and tucked her in. She nodded with a sniffle and closed her eyes.
"Thank you Y/N…Nini,” she said softly, watching you walk away to the door. You turned and gave her a warm smile,
“Anytime Millie. Good night sweetheart,” you said before flipping the light switch off and closing her bedroom door.
You tiptoed out of her bedroom and back to your own where Billy was sitting on the edge of the bed, waiting for you. He looked up at you, his face conflicted and tired.
“How is she?” He asked standing up to give you a tight embrace. He really appreciated how you were with Emily, the special bond you had developed with her. It made him love you even more as he kissed your head.
“She’s young, in love and broken-hearted I’m afraid,” you said with a long sigh, resting your head on his chest. You gave him a brief summary of what she had told you. You felt a bit guilty at reporting it all back to Billy but he’d probably know sooner or later too.
“I’m gonna beat the shit out of him when I find him,” he snarled pacing in front of you. He brushed his hair back and thought about the best way to throttle the asshole.
“Devin is a girl, Billy.” You said with a small smile, wondering what his reaction was gonna be.
He stopped pacing abruptly and his eyebrows shot upwards as he looked back at you dumbstruck.
“Oh! Oh,” he said, rolling his shoulders and clearing his throat. You looked back at him with one eyebrow up wondering what was going on in his head at the moment.
“Well, I guess I won’t…punch the brat then,” he said somewhat sheepishly and a bit confused. Not that it mattered to Billy if his little Millie liked guys or girls. It’s just…
“She never really talked about it. She always showed up with  boyfriends before so I guess I just…took it for granted really,” he said with a frown sitting by the bed. After a long silence he looked up at you with a vulnerability that broke your heart to see.
“Am I a bad father for it?” He asked, his voice wavering slightly, he cleared his throat and rolled his shoulder, looking at the picture frame of her on his nightstand.
You took your robe off and stood in front of him between his legs. You cradled the side of his face and tilted it up so he’d look at you.
“No, Billy. It doesn’t make you a bad father, baby,” you brushed a strand of hair away from his eye.
“I guess you two just never really brought it up. I remember when I was seventeen myself, a young woman still in high-school, afraid of being bullied for being any kind of different,” you said with a sigh, remembering how cruel high-school was.
Billy scoffed and sneered at his own memories of it. Lonely guy from the group home with no family or friends beside small pets he’d keep in jars. He smiled warmly with a silent snort remembering how Emily had her own pet snail for a while and how much she took care of the little one.
“She might still be figuring herself out too,” you added with a shrug.
“Yeah, I’ll talk to her tomorrow anyway, maybe she’ll want to open up and chat about all of this,” he said, rubbing his tired face with his hands. You kissed him slowly before breaking the kiss and crawling back in bed in your short satin nightie. He groaned looking back at you, suddenly very awake for almost 3AM. He rolled over on the bed and pulled you flat against his body with a sly smirk. You chuckled at the attention he gave you and kissed him languidly with a moan.
“I’m still gonna scold her ass,” he mumbled over your lips, reaching over you and turning off the light.
A/N: Random Fact. My fiancé’s name is Devin. I remembered him telling me he had a girl classmate once in school named Devin. 😋

pairing: luke hemmings x fem!reader
summary: it’s time for you decide whether or not luke’s mistake is worth losing the love of your life.
warning(s): mentions of alcohol, cursing, angst (but with a happy ending), self doubt, insecurity, mention of throwing up
word count: 2.9k
pt. 1
Tumblr media
The longer you watched the window the more you were convinced mother nature was taunting you. The rain droplets that cascaded down the glass mirroring the tears that hadn’t stopped falling since you left Luke speechless in the driveway. It had to be for your benefit, I mean it was Los Angeles. California was in a drought for god’s sake.
Despite the fact that nature was mocking you, you couldn’t dare pull your eyes away. The alternative was to face the endless voicemails waiting for you on your phone that glowed dimly beside you. You knew you would have to hear them eventually but right now you knew that even a breath, let alone full sentences from Luke would break you in every sense of the word. You feared the sound almost as much as the content behind it.
You weren’t ready to be okay, you needed to wallow in your pain for a bit longer. As bad as that sounds you knew it was the only way you could convince yourself to let him back in, to forgive him. It was also the only way you could forgive yourself. Your body needed to feel how tortured you were without him, how much you needed his affection, his love, and him. Not his money.
Part of you knew deep down that Luke didn’t mean what he said, the part that awakened the butterflies that had taken permanent residence in your stomach since he had entered your life. The part that caused all your senses to align when Luke kissed you the night you finally understood what it meant to love someone with everything you have. The same part that was clawing at your heart right now as your mind replayed the look of pure devastation that was painted on Luke’s pretty features as you drove away from him. That part was itching for you to run to him, to cuddle into his embrace and say “I forgive you. I’ll never leave you again. Love me?”
But, it was the other part of you that was causing the problems right now, the part that snuck up on you each time you felt secure in yourself and tore it all down in seconds. The part that told you there was no way you were good enough for your boyfriend when you stared at your reflection in the mirror for even a second too long. The part that Luke was typically the one to silence when it overwhelmed you in a crowded room, with just a tender kiss to the forehead, or squeeze of your hand. The same part that constantly craved for Luke to be proud of you the way you were of him in anything he decided to pursue. That part was completely shattered last week when, whether intentionally or not he showed you that not only was he not proud, but also felt burdened by your lack of brilliance.
“Y/n,” your friend called, breaking you from your self-loathing thoughts as she approached your brittle body, enveloped in every single fuzzy blanket you could get your hands on.
“Hi.” you croaked, pulling your stinging eyes from where they had settled on a particularly large rain droplet that had stolen your interest as you wondered how much more water it could withstand before it burst from its flawless embodiment and shattered to the sill below. You wondered the same about Luke, how much more of your insecurity and emotional baggage would it take for him to burst. How much more of your mediocrity could he compensate for before you began to strip him of his excellence?
“Have you talked to him yet?” she inquired, eyes going soft as she looked at you with sympathy.
“No.” you groaned, pulling yourself up. “Do I have to?”
She shook her head, dismissing you. “You know that you’re welcome here as long as you want, but anyone could tell that you’re completely miserable without him, even if he is being an epic prick.”
You sniffled and wrapped your arms around your best friend.
“Am I an idiot for wanting to forgive him?” you spoke into her hair.
She returned the embrace and settled next to you in the bed, “I think if he really is sorry then you’re incredibly strong for it. And you’re never an idiot, that would be your blonde haired beau.”
You laughed softly at her innocent dig, the giggle catching slightly in your throat as it had only been releasing pathetic pleas, and broken sobs for the past few days.
Y/f/n handed you your phone, the photo of Luke and Petunia sitting by the pool being almost completely covered by all the missed call notifications that had taken over your lock screen.
“I think you should at least hear what he has to say babe, for your sake if not for his.”
You let out a heavy sigh and accepted the phone, wrapping your favorite blanket around your shoulders and dragging your feet to the bathroom for some privacy.
You took a seat in the empty bathtub throwing the blanket across your body. You reasoned it was the perfect place to listen to the messages because as soon as Luke’s voice flooded the room you would be completely submerged in him and you didn’t trust your legs to hold you up.
You clicked the most recent voicemail, time stamped from 1:28 am last night. As you selected the speaker option you allowed your eyes to fall closed and without noticing or trying you held your breath.
“Y/n,”
Only one word in you could immediately tell two things without a trace of doubt. One, he’d been crying, and two he was drunk. If you had to guess you would say tequila, it had always been his favorite and he had a bad habit of nursing his wounds in the liquor cabinet. It shattered your heart to think of him broken, and vulnerable and as he continued to speak you found yourself wrapping your arms around your body for comfort.
“I miss you and I’m sorry. I-” his voice cut off as a sob played through your phone. You released a matching one while squeezing  your eyes tighter, a shaky hand bringing your phone closer as if it would bring him as well.
As he continued, your mind began to paint a vivid picture. You saw him sitting on the kitchen floor, an old ratty sweatshirt struggling to keep him warm, damp tear stains spoiling the sleeves. There was a half empty bottle to his side and the tip of his nose was red as it peeked out from the hood. You shook your head in an attempt to rid yourself of the image that felt like your personal nightmare.
“I-I can’t live without you, really I don’t think I can. I need you and I love you. I love you so much. Just please come home to me, please baby.” he spoke through gasps of breath that caused worry to spread across your body.
You paused the message as a dull ache creeped up from the bottom of your stomach and to your throat which was tightening by the second. You tossed your phone onto the blanket which you had kicked off as your body heated up, and sprung out of the tub landing firmly in front of the toilet. Gathering your hair into a makeshift ponytail in your hand you hunched over and retched into the bowl. Y/f/n burst through the door as you gagged and coughed repeatedly, she took your hair from you and rubbed soothing circles on your back as you tried to focus your breathing through your nose. This wasn’t the first time you had cried yourself into throwing up during your stay so she knew what to do to calm you down and settle your stomach.
As you finished the glass of water she had poured from the sink while you brushed your teeth she held your car keys out to you.
“Please go see him. I can’t see you like this anymore.”
You nodded accepting the keys reluctantly and made your way to your car.
Once outside you noted that the rain had started coming down harder, it seemed fitting as your situation reached its climax. By the time you got into the car your hair was wet and stringy, dripping onto Luke’s shirt that you had been wearing since the night you left. You quickly tied it back and drove away, hoping the sound of the rain could calm your nerves before you got back to your house.
When you got there the sun was setting and the rain was still falling steadily, you grabbed a jacket from the back seat and held it over your head as you ran to the house. The jacket didn’t give you much protection from the water and you were soaked by the time you reached the door. Taking one big breath, in through your nose, and out from your mouth as you had been repeating the whole ride there, you raised your quivering hand and knocked three times.
Expecting it to take a few minutes for him to reach the door you were shocked when it swung open in just a few seconds. Your heart sunk as you took in Luke’s appearance, although you were sure you looked just as bad if not worse. Deep dark circles sat beneath his bloodshot eyes, his stubble had grown in a bit longer than he typically liked it and his lips were chapped and bitten down. Guilt panged in your chest, how awful of a girlfriend were you to let it get to this point? The thought made you question if he would even want you here.
Apparently the time apart had completely fucked with your ability to read Luke’s face because even frozen in shock, his eyes began to fade into that special soft color of blue they only got to around you. He felt as if a giant weight had been lifted from his chest and just as it had been since the moment you left the only word running through his head was “y/n.”
He didn’t see your messy, wet hair or the ratty tshirt that swallowed your figure. He didn’t see your eyes puffy from crying or your bitten down nails that you were bringing back up to your mouth in that moment as your nerves got the best of you. All he saw was y/n. His y/n. You came home to him and as far as he was concerned you looked like an angel. Warm, sweet, and perfect. So fucking perfect.
Your eyes ran over his face anxiously, waiting for him to say something, or invite you in, or even slam the door in your face. Anything. After a minute of silence you gathered up the courage to speak first.
“Sorry I never called you bac-'' your words were knocked from your mouth when Luke took a step forward and wrapped you up into the tightest hug you’d ever experienced. Your limbs fit together perfectly, and the second your bodies met you felt recharged, as if everything was in place once again. And Luke felt like for the first time in a week he could breathe.
“I don’t deserve you.” he sighed as you pressed your nose into his chest deeply breathing in the smell you could only describe as home. “Thank you for coming back to me, I don’t work without you.”
From your position in his arms you could see the mess splayed on the floor behind him. It was just as you had pictured it earlier, a thin blanket and scratchy throw pillow were scattered on the floor in front of the sink, a bottle lying on it’s side just next to them. Guilt inched up your spine when your eyes made contact with a framed picture of the two of you on top of the blanket.
“I’m sorry.” you sobbed into his chest, your hands clawing at the material of his sweatshirt.
He pulled back quickly, keeping his hands on either sides of your waist, “No baby, why’re you sorry. This is all my fault, I was awful. You...you’re perfect.” he pressed as you shook your head in distress, unable to stop your tears.
“N-no I stayed away for so long, even when I knew I wa-wanted to forgive you. I was embarrassed and...and selfish.” you struggled to speak over your tears while Luke looked down at you sad and confused.
“What’re you talking about, love?”
You sniffed and dropped your hands from Luke’s chest, “I j-just wanted you to be proud of me.” the end of your sentence was nearly lost in your sobs but Luke understood. And in that moment he regretted going into music instead of engineering, or science, or whatever would’ve helped him to invent  a time machine so he could go back and beat the shit out of whoever or whatever had possessed him last week.
His hands moved to cup your cheeks, his thumb tracing lightly over your bottom lip.
“I am proud of you baby.”
He leaned in slowly, and hesitantly, almost as if he was testing the waters, like this was new. As if he hadn’t kissed you thousands of times before. You looked up at him through your lashes littered with unshed tears and nodded your head slowly. He still had so much left to say, you still had so much left to say but you both had been needing this for as long as you’d lost it. He pressed his lips to yours gently, afraid that even one wrong move and you would decide that you had made the wrong choice in coming back. He wouldn’t survive that, he couldn’t lose you twice.
As he went to pull away you snaked a hand around the back of his neck pulling him back towards you. This time when your lips collided his body sagged into it, both arms wrapping around your back and lifting you up to the tips of your toes. Your eyes drifted shut and you reveled in the feeling of him pressed up against you like this. When the kiss broke you kept your faces close enough that your noses were touching, and opened your eyes to see Luke’s still closed, his eyebrows furrowed as he pressed his forehead to you.
“You’re what I’m most proud of.” he exhaled, his eyelids still shut lightly. “My greatest achievement is getting you to love me and I can’t believe I almost blew it.”
You brought a hand to his face and stroked his cheek lightly, the feeling of his overgrown stubble foreign to your fingers.
“It would take a lot more to get rid of me.” you assured. “I think m’too in love with you.”
He opened his eyes, locking them with your own, and spoke firmly but with a softness that was and would always be reserved for only you.
“I want to make it clear that you do not in any way leech.” he dragged the last word out, laced in disgust as if it were hard for him to say. “I lucked out. I actually just seem to keep lucking out, my job, my life, and you.” He placed a hand across your jaw and tilted your chin up before continuing. “I completely lucked out with you. I have lots of money, more than I need actually and it makes me feel fucking incredible that I can take care of you. That’s all I wanna do for the rest of my life.”
Your mouth broke into a smile hearing him verbally commit to a lifetime with you.
“But, with that being said I know you don’t need me-”
“I do need you.” you interrupted.
Luke threw his head back at your words, a toothy grin overtaking his face before he pressed a chaste peck to your forehead.
“Y’know what? You’re too fucking cute. I meant financially baby, m’trying to apologize here.”
You nodded for him to continue, struggling to contain your own beaming smile.
“Anything you decide to do occupationally or otherwise could never, ever let me down. You’re physically incapable of it. I’d be a lucky guy if you let me stick around for it all and I promise to never forget that again. I’m sorry I did in the first place.” he took a deep breath before finishing his rant. “M’only able to give you the world if you let me. Let me?”
You answered his question by attaching your lips once again, desire and need radiating off of the place where your lips met. As your taste buds reacquainted themselves with Luke’s mouth you wondered how you had gone even a day without him.
Luke felt like he was flying and he couldn’t wrap his head around how anyone in the world could live without, seeing you, knowing you, and kissing you. He also knew that he would do anything to ensure that he never had to go a day without you for the rest of his life.
“How long does it take to get an engagement ring sized?” he wondered to himself.
If he could’ve read your mind he would’ve seen white gowns, tiered cakes, and little blue eyed, curly haired monsters running amuck.
“I want everything with you, the whole world.” you affirmed when you pulled apart for air.
“Yea?” he responded.
You hummed against his lips, “Always.”

Dark Roast, No Sugar
Tumblr media
“Last night I woke the hell up. I realized I need you here, as desperate as that sounds, yeah.” - Jon Bellion
Masterlist
Chapter Nine-
Aelin showed up to the police department in a pair of leggings and an oversized shirt. She didn't even bother putting on the new-ish sneakers she owned, opting for the ones with holes because they didn't squeeze her feet. It wasn't the first impression she wanted to give, but you deserve a little forgiveness when making a whole-ass human.
Leaning over the dash of the car, she presses a friendly kiss to the side of Chaol's face. "Thanks for the ride, boys."
His cheeks redden, and Dorian leans as much of his body as he can into the front of the car, "No sugar for me?"
Aelin laughs and kisses his cheek good-naturedly. "Feel less left out now?"
"Much better," the corners of his happy smile dim, his blue eyes dart to the doors of the precinct. "Are you sure you don't want me to call you a lawyer, Aelin?"
Chaol nods his agreement beside him, his hands clenching the steering wheel despite the car being in park. "Do you want me to go inside with you?"
Aelin feels a bubble of warmth blossoming in her chest. Their worried faces and eagerness to help her- it was almost enough to warm an assassin's heart. "Don't worry. They just need me to clarify a few things in my statement. Nothing serious. Paperwork issues."
Dorian and Chaol had shown up right as she was walking out of the front door of The Stag. When they realized she was leaving and offered her a ride... Aelin couldn't say no. Not with how her feet were aching.
It took some more reassuring, but they finally agreed to let her leave their caring grasps.
Fenrys met her at the door with a smile, "Hey, Baby Mama. Looking beautiful."
Aelin is surprised to find she's genuinely happy to see him. She can't help the toothy grin he brings out in her. "I'm well. How are you this morning, Fen?"
Fenrys lights up at the nickname. "I bought us some donuts. We have a hard day of work ahead of us, and I figured we would deserve a treat in advance."
Donuts sounded phenomenal and vastly improved her outlook of the day.
He steers her through the PD, and several heads turn to stare as she passes. Aelin didn't particularly care. Whatever they thought they knew about her, they probably didn't.
When they finally reach Rowan's office, they find him slumped over a laptop at a desk piled high with neatly stacked papers. The room is minimalistic. Only necessary office items were visible—no personal effects, knickknacks, or pictures of any kind adorning the space.
Rowan himself is also in his usual state of neatness, minus the dirt she could see staining the underside of his nails. He must have been gardening this morning.
Aelin doesn't bother with greetings. She grabs a chair opposite him and sits down. The last few days, she'd been feeling more drained and quick to tire. At first, she attributed it to the baby getting larger and demanding more of her body's resources, but now Aelin started to think that she caught a bug galavanting through the night.
Fenrys set a blueberry donut and a cup of hot tea in front of her. Bless him. Aelin mumbles her thanks before stuffing her mouth.
Rowan shuts his laptop with a snap and replaces it with a yellow notepad. "Alright, Aelin. I need a name. Who do you think is doing this?"
"When is Aedion getting released?" She says around a mouthful of glazed blueberry.
Fenrys slumps into an office chair at a tinier desk in the corner of the room. "This afternoon."
"If all goes well at this meeting," Rowan tacks on the thinly veiled warning. "I need a name."
Aelin leans back in her seat and takes a deep breath. There was a strange heaviness in giving his name. As if speaking it would materialize him into existence in front of her. Her goal when she moved to Ornyth was to forget about him and push her old master as far from her mind as she physically could, but she supposed it was naive to think he wouldn't come looking for her.
This wasn't just for her, Aelin reminds herself. Aedion would benefit from this conversation.
"His name is Arobynn Hammel. He's thirty-five, red hair, grey eyes, and an utter asshole." Aelin lays the name of her childhood tormentor out on the table. A bad taste sours her mouth.
Rowan tosses the notepad to Fenrys, who relays what she said to the paper. He looks at her over his desk with an unreadable expression. "What is your relation to Mr. Hammel?"
"Why?" Aelin chuckles as if the stress is trying to escape her with each half-hearted chuckle. "Do you want to know if he's my baby daddy?"
"Yes," Rowan and Fenrys say simultaneously.
Aelin's smile falls, and she scowls at both of them. They didn't know better, but she still felt insulted.
"He isn't, but I suppose he probably would have liked to be. Make sure to underline that," she points at Fenry's pad of paper. "Arobynn raised me. I don't think he was legally a foster parent, but he is who I was given to in the shuffle after the occupation."
Rowan dips his chin. Green eyes focus on her intensely, as if he's trying to absorb and commit her every word to memory. "How old were you when they put you in his care?"
"Eight," Aelin breathes out, a sharp tingling of grief comes with that admission. "I lived with him from the time I was eight until I turned nineteen."
"Why do you suspect him of producing and distributing Synth?" Rowan asks the nail-in-the-coffin question, and Aelin has to bite back old instincts to lie and conceal this information. It makes her feel vulnerable to expose Arobynn.
Vulnerability isn't an emotion she handles well. After all, when you bare your neck to someone, it becomes within their power to cut their throat.
"I've seen where he makes it, and I oversaw some of his high-risk contracts and dealings with the distribution," Fenrys chokes beside her, but he smothers it with a cough. Even Rowan looks a little taken back, eyes narrowing.
"At what age did you start assisting with his-" he struggles to find the words. "-His business practices."
Aelin blinks, "Eight."
This time, neither of them covers their reactions. They both freeze in their seats, an air of disbelief hanging over them. Aelin feels a chill and tugs at the hem of her shirt, wishing the sleeves were longer.
"What?" Rowan is the first to break the tension.
"I was displaced in the occupation," Aelin begins the watered-down version of her sob story. "I was carted into Adarlan and placed in the care of Arobynn Hammel. Within a couple of months, he was already using me as a mule to get orders across Rifthold. He trained me in various skills to carry out larger jobs, along with a few other children."
"There were others?" Rowan looks saddened by that tidbit.
Mentally Aelin wants to laugh.
Of course, he would be upset at the prospect of other good children suffering from such a fate.`Ones who had the potential he thought she lacked.
If only he knew what bastards they all grew up to be, and she by far was not the worst of them.
Fenrys' eyes were gleaming with more pity than Aelin was comfortable with because, unlike Rowan, she knew it was directed towards her. Gratefully he didn't dig too deeply. Instead, Fenrys picked up the next question. "Can you name the others?"
Aelin bites her lip, leg fidgeting under the table. "Tern Fletcher, Archer Flynn, Adam Mulligan, Lysandra Ennar-" she swallows past the lump in her throat. "Samuel Cortland and myself."
"Lysandra was involved?" Rowan leans back in his chair and crosses his arms. He hasn't looked away, barely blinked, since the questioning began. Aelin feels naked as his eyes seemed to be raking in her every movement.
"Not-" she tries to think of how to phrase it in a way that respects her friend's privacy. "She wasn't involved in the same capacity I was."
"Are the others you know still working with Hammel?" Rowan asks, and Aelin gladly lets them move the conversation away from Lys. She wasn't comfortable digging into her friend's wounds when she wasn't around.
"I suspect Mulligan, Flynn, and Fletcher. They were extremely loyal, and as of the last time I saw them, very active in the business." Aelin fondly remembers the beat down she laid on Archer before their parting words. He sold them out, and she hopes for his sake that they never run into each other again.
Fenrys looks up, "What about Samuel?"
"What?" Aelin flinches, the question taking her back.
"Samuel Cortland," Rowan reiterates. "You named him as one of the employees in Hammel's custody but implied he's no longer active in the business. Where is he then?" He leans forward, and Aelin wishes she could shrink back. "Would he be willing to speak with us?"
"Children." Her voice comes out as gruffer than she intends. "We were kids. Not employees. It wasn't a mutual agreement. None of us could consent to what became of us."
Aelin is surprised by the emotion that makes itself known. She swallows back the tears that want to fall and stuffs her trembling hands under her thighs. The implication any of them had a choice in serving Arobynn was disturbing and utterly wrong.
The taste of skin between her teeth, blood crusting under her nails, and being surrounded in pitch-black darkness consume her. Aelin suddenly feels more ill than she had this morning.
"Of course, Aelin." Fenrys placates. "That's understood. We just need to know where Samuel is. He could be very useful to the investigation."
"Dead," Aelin throws the word out like a dying fish on the table. "He died."
It hurt to say that. Tears burned in the corners of her eyes. Sam dying was worse than talking about Arobynn. A million times worse.
Aelin tries to swallow the lead rock in her throat. Arobynn didn't deserve to be known. His legacy was of blood, abuse, and control. It belonged in the sewer alongside his corpse.
Sam, on the other hand, deserved to be known. He abandoned by the system, forgotten by his family, and still chose kindness above all else. Sam's story deserved to be told, and it killed Aelin that it hurt her so much to share it.
"How did he die?" Fenrys prods delicately.
"What?" Aelin asks dumbly, heart accelerating in her chest.
"How did Samuel die? Any details you can give are beneficial. and you agreed to cooperate." Rowan reminds her sternly.
Mala save her, she couldn't go into detail about how she found him. She couldn't. Aelin feels blood rushing up to her head, and the room seems to sway.
"Sam. He liked to be called Sam-" Is all Aelin manages to choke out. "Excuse me."
Pushing herself from the desk, she shakily bolts for the office door. Their complaints are silenced as the glass shuts behind her. Outside, Aelin can feel the trembling beginning in her hands and spreading up her arms.
Sweat beads on her forehead in the oppressive heat of the building, but when she rubs her face, it feels damp and cold to the touch.
Aelin frantically strides down the hall, eyes darting around madly for a bathroom door. Nausea was creeping up her throat, and she really didn't want to throw up in someone's trashcan. She knew she was moving quickly, that someone might see her and become alarmed, but anxiety made everything feel like it was moving in slow motion.
A dainty hand grips her elbow and tugs in gently. "Follow me, dear. I can help you."
Aelin's head is swimming, and she allows the calming voice to steer her back in the other direction. When the person pushes open the bathroom door and Aelin sees the navy blue stalls, she rips her arm away and falls to her knees before the porcelain bowl.
Long, slender fingers pull her hair back from her face and rub her shoulders as Aelin loses her breakfast. "You are okay," the voice consoles—a hand massages up her spine and soothes the aches there.
Aelin's whole body is shuddering now. Her stomach rolls over itself, and the muscles of her diaphragm are quaking with exertion. She doubts she could get to her feet if she tried. A strand of drool hangs from her lips, and Aelin would be humiliated if her head wasn't still reeling.
Gouged eyes. Bent fingers. Blood on her lips.
A wad of paper towels appears and dabs at her cheeks, which Aelin hadn't even realized were wet with tears. She failed to notice that her body was shuddering under the intensity of the sobs coming from her. The woman continues to pat her cheeks and nose. Then to her mortification, it swipes at the spit hanging from her mouth.
Mala end me now, she mentally pleads.
Aelin looks up to find a woman with raven hair and onyx eyes looking at her sympathetically. "I'm sorry, dear. I don't mean to overstep. I've been where you are before. Please don't be embarrassed."
Opening her mouth, Aelin makes to apologize, but another crackling sob breaks from her chest instead.
She's just tired. Tired of being sad. Tired of feeling sick. Tired of being unable to even say his name without breaking down.
Arms wrap around Aelin's shoulders and tug her into an embrace. She allows her face to burrow into the woman's blazer as the grief racks through her body.
"Oh, sweety. It's going to be alright. I promise whatever is going on right now will work out." Fingers rake through Aelin's hair soothingly. It turns her to jello in the woman's arms. Her presence was just so motherly in a way that Aelin sorely misses.
She holds Aelin tight until she's calm enough to hold a plastic cup of water without dropping it. The woman helps her stand and wipes the mascara smudges off her cheeks with a damp towel. "There you go," she tosses the towel in the trash when she deems Aelin presentable. "Brand new, again."
"Thank you," Aelin breathes out at last. "I don't even know what to say."
"Say nothing," the woman waves her hand. "I've been pregnant before. Hormones. Nausea. It isn't an easy ride, dear. Besides, no one comes to a police station for a good reason." The woman pulls a stick of gum from a purse sitting on the sink and offers it to her. Aelin accepts it gratefully.
"Has anyone told you that stress isn't good for you?" Her kind eyes bore into Aelin worriedly. "You look very pale."
"I've been told. Many times." Aelin rubs her forehead, an ache already forming there. "I just don't have much of a choice."
"What's your name? I'm Maeve." She smiles and extends a hand for Aelin to shake.
Aelin takes the hand, happy that they aren't trembling so badly. "Aelin."
"Do you have any name ideas for the baby?" Maeve's eyes glance down towards the slight swell of her belly a little wistfully.
Names? Aelin periodically forgot that the human growing inside of her would pop into the world and require such a thing. It was a far-off event where she had plenty of time to accommodate for things in her head. In reality, she was halfway through her fourth month.
Time was ticking.
"No. I don't have any ideas yet." Aelin admits.
Maeve pats Aelin's shoulder kindly. "That's just fine. Ignore my curiosity. You have plenty of time if-" she emphasizes, "you take better care of yourself."
There is a knock on the door. "Aelin, are you alright?"
Rowan.
"Yes. I'll be back in a minute," Aelin says through the door.
She waits until his footsteps echo back down the hallway before she makes towards the exit. Eager to leave the bathroom and the memories of her awkward breakdown with it. "Thanks again. Really. I appreciate it."
Aelin truly meant it despite the utter humiliation she felt.
"Let me walk you back to Rowan's office?" Maeve asked. "It's easy to get turned around in this building."
They walked in a comfortable silence back to the office. Maeve's demeanor is so tranquil it surprises Aelin when the demure woman pushes the door open without knocking. "I have a delivery for you boys."
"Chief?" Rowan stands up, confused.
What? Aelin blinks and turns back to the woman, noting the black and whites and the metal badge on the breast of her blazer. The same blazer Aelin had just cried on.
Blood rushed to her face, and her brain curdles in her skull. Of course, it was the law of Orynth whose arms she just broke down in. Adarlan's Assassin reduced to a ball of hormones clinging to the chief detective of Terrasen like a baby clinging to its mother.
"Has she caused trouble?" Rowan's eyes glint with steel.
If you've done anything to degrade me to my boss, the deal is off.
"Not at all. We ran into each other in the bathroom and had a lovely chat," Maeve brushes an invisible piece of dust from Aelin's shoulder. "I will let the three of you get back to business. You are in excellent company."
Aelin's lip quirks. Just the opposite. She loves me. Congratulations, you are already reaping the benefits of my presence.
"Oh, and Fenrys?" Aelin looks at Fenrys, who is actively ignoring them. "The reports you promised are late. Have them to my desk by the end of the day, please."
"Will do, Chief." Fenrys' reply is dry and lacks his usual pep.
Aelin notes the worried glance Rowan throws him, but he swiftly covers it with an expressionless mask. "I will make sure he gets it done."
What was that? Aelin tries to pry an answer from Rowan, but he avoids her look.
When Maeve leaves, the tension eases from the men's shoulders.
"You are trouble," Rowan tosses at her without venom.
Aelin picks up the cup of tea she left at his desk, glad it's still warm. "Yes, but only the best kind."
"We haven't laid out a single plan for weaseling out Arobynn," Fenrys makes an irritated face at them. "If either of you could focus for ten minutes, we can do the rest of the questioning later, but we need to start throwing out ideas."
"Did Rowan piss in your tea in the last ten minutes I was gone?" Aelin shoots back, not appreciating his sudden attitude.
"Thirty," Rowan says. "You were gone for thirty minutes. That's why I came looking for you. Also, ruining beverages is your thing, not mine."
Damn, had she been gone that long? A glance at the clock confirms he was correct.
When she turns back to Rowan, there is almost something like worry in his eyes? That couldn't be right, Aelin rubs that aching side of her head again. She needed to stop reading so deeply into things.
"We can continue with questioning later," Rowan announces. "Fenrys is correct in saying we need to start making plans. You've given us enough to work with for now."
They sat back in their chairs, pulled out more notepads, red pens, and sticky notes. Together, Aelin helped them form a list of potential places Arobynn would be laying low. Hotels, rental homes, and vacant manors. He had a taste for luxury Aelin knew he wouldn't sacrifice for anonymity.
Test results were still running on the Synth. Technicians had let them know it showed highly abnormal properties compared to average street drugs, and they promised to send them an extensive report when they were through.
Rowan had hushed any potential news stories about The Stag shooting. He didn't want anyone who may know Celaena to catch wind and start snooping around. Aelin was his best lead, which afforded her a certain level of discretion he acknowledged.
They didn't know about the Bane patrolling her block at night, keeping their eyes on the streets for unusual activity.
The clock ticked, and the light beaming through the winders grew warmer as the afternoon trickled away. It was nearly five o'clock when Rowan declared then done for the day, and Aelin was utterly exhausted.
"Come on," Fenrys offered her a hand to help her stand. "I can drive you by the prison. Aedion should be getting checked out as we speak."
"Thank you," Aelin accepts the help. Her feet ached, and she felt entirely drained. It was good Fenrys was offering a ride, or she'd have to call Dorian to come and get her.
Together, the three of them made their way to the parking lot. Conversation between them was sparse but not unpleasant. They'd fallen into a rhythm at some point while working together. It helped break up some of the awkwardness between her and Rowan.
Aelin hustled a little bit when she spotted Fenry's luxury car. She wanted to claim the front seat before Rowan did. Her gut couldn't handle the stress of riding the back.
Her fingers barely grazed the polished handle when Fenrys started yelling.
Arms wrapped around her waist, and Aelin's face throbbed as it found itself slammed into the asphalt. A loud explosion rattled her ears, and chunks of debris went flying through the air. A thick foggy smoke started filling the air, and she immediately started choking on it.
A dense weight lifts off her back, and hands grab her shoulders, rolling her body to face the clouded sky instead of the ground. Rowan is in her personal space immediately. He's speaking to her, but no sound is penetrating the ringing in her ears.
His hands are running along her arms, the side of her face, checking for injury. Aelin tries to ask him if he's alright, but he doesn't seem able to hear her either.
Suddenly, Fenrys is there, and he's grabbing them both by the arms. They are moving away at a sprint. Fenrys is yelling, but the smoke is stinging her eyes, and even seeing is becoming hard.
There is another explosion, and Aelin can feel the tremors beneath the soles of her shoes as the three of them hit the ground once more.
People are pouring out of the precinct. Aelin spies Cheif Maeve at the front of them, ordering people out of the building. Red and blue lights reflect off the smoke, and she knows that ambulances must be on their way.
Rowan is lying beside her. She hadn't noticed the rips in the back of his suit jacket at first, but there were long gouges in the material, and smoke wafted off a couple of scorch marks. The fact he'd thrown himself over her body and shielded her from the explosion was only starting to register when something warm squeezed her hand.
Are you okay? Green eyes were scouring her body for wounds.
I'm fine, Aelin assures him. She's more concerned about the spots on the back of his suit growing wet as he bled.
"Someone blew up my car," Fenrys is gaping at the spot where his vintage ride used to be. All that remained was a roughed-up frame that was lit ablaze like a campfire.
"Gods," Aelin breathed out, the ringing in her ears dying down. "I almost died."
Rowan hadn't let go of her hand and made no move to do so as his eyes fixed on the burning car. "That was meant for us."
He didn't have to elaborate for Aelin to understand. Whoever had placed the bomb hadn't been targeting her, but Rowan and Fenrys. They arrived and left work together. The bomb wasn't there when they got to the precinct this morning, so someone must have placed it while they were inside.
"What have we gotten ourselves into?" Fenrys runs a dirty hand through his hair.
Sirens wailed as paramedics filed into the parking lot. Other detectives and officers were starting to approach them. Firefighters approached the car with extinguishers and began to tame the burning fire.
Aelin didn't have an answer. Just the sinking feeling that the game they'd entered into had more players than she'd thought.

Missing (Loki/Jade/Reader)
Jade runs away, you and Loki panic, and she immediately misses her home.
Tumblr media
Warning: attempted sexual assault scene.
Read the first part here!
Read the Mischievous Life series here!
"She's not here," Loki voice, filled with fear, calls out from Jade's bedroom. You immediately stand up from the couch and follow your lover out the front door to see what the two of you can find. "Jade!" Loki yells, his voice panicking.
"Jade!" you call out after Loki's loud voice.
The two of you are only met with the silence of winter air and the sound of snow crunching under your feet.
"Where the hell did she go?!" you try to figure out.
Loki scoffs. "She ran away."
"I'm calling the cops," you announce, quickly running back inside for your phone while Loki continues to scour the neighborhood.
Half an hour later, blue and red lights illuminate the streets as the police search every road in the neighborhood for the missing teenager – calling her name over and over through the loudspeakers and approaching neighbors' doors to ask if they know where the teenager is.
"Loki," you cry into the god's chest. "Where did she go?"
The God of Mischief gently rubs your back in an attempt to keep you calm. "I've no clue, my love," he says softly – his own terror starting to overwhelm him. "We'll find her."
As you stand with Loki, an officer slowly approaches the two of you – being cautious when he realizes that he's going to have to deal with the god that tried to take over New York years ago.
"Excuse me," the officer politely approaches you and Loki.
You desperately turn to the uniformed officer. "Where is she?! Did you find her?!" Loki places a hand on your shoulder and gives you a slight squeeze.
"No, ma'am," the officer solemnly admits. "We're looking all over the city."
"She can't be that far," Loki scoffs as you turn back around and hold him tightly.
The officer gives the two of you a quick smile. "We're doing everything we can possibly do. When we find her, you'll be contacted."
"What're we supposed to do?" you ask – desperation in your voice.
The cop takes a deep breath in – knowing that you aren't going to like his suggestion. "Stay home."
You scoff and cock your head at the officer. "I'm sorry...what?"
"If she comes home, she needs to know that she won't be alone," he explains.
"He's right," Loki backs up the police officer. "We'll stay here, and if she comes home by herself, we'll call."
The officer gives Loki a nod and shakes his hand. "Sounds good...and if we find her, you'll be contacted, and she'll be brought back home."
Finally, you understand the logic behind the actions and nod your head. "Thank you."
You turn away from the police officer and Loki to go back inside the house – trying to keep your tears under control.
"Here's my card," the officer offers to Loki, who immediately accepts. "Keep calling around – call her friends, boyfriend, girlfriend, whatever...we'll find her, sir."
Jade's anger had taken over her – driving her away from the home she shares with you and Loki. Rather than admit she was wrong, she would rather tough it out on the streets of New York City – alone and cold. She knew there was no way they would even notice her being gone – they'd probably be relieved that she's out of their hair. As Jade walks down a sidewalk through a rough part of town, she feels her arm be grabbed and roughly yanked – forcing her down an alleyway. When she looks up, her eyes meet the crazy ones of some older man, and when she tries to get away and push him off, he only laughs and pins her closer to the brick wall, but when Jade spits in his face, she's met with a fist to her face.
"Was a purty lil thing like you doin' out here?" the man, clearly drunk, asks the teen as she tries to get her jaw to stop hurting.
"Kidnapping and murdering old creeps," Jade spits, refusing to show her fear.
The man didn't entertain her attitude, and he wobbly spread her knees apart with his own, and Jade's tough façade quickly disappeared when she felt his hands go to her jeans – unbuttoning the single button with a perverted grin on his face.
"Be a good girl, and I won' be long." The man's filthy, smelly hands roughly rub Jade's cheeks, and he moans at the sight of her tears. "Have you taken a big 'un before?"
"Is that really any of your business?" a heavenly voice calls out from a few feet away.
The man laughs and turns to whoever has interrupted his fun. "Come on, man," he sighs, "you can have your fun when I's done."
"I don't think you understand," the voice calls out again. "You're going to let go of my niece before I take you to her father."
Finally, the man lets Jade go, and Thor quickly catches her before she falls to the ground.
"Uncle Thor," she cries in his arms. "Please, I wanna go home...Please take me home...I want my dad."
Thor picks her up and carries her back towards the road. "It's okay, JJ," Thor soothes the terrified teenager. "We're going home."
When Thor finally gets the traumatized fourteen-year-old back home, you and Loki come running out of the house, and Jade immediately runs into your and Loki's arms.
"Oh my God," you breathe out, taking in the scent of your little girl. "Jade...,"
Jade cries uncontrollably, and Loki shoots his brother a nod. "I'm so sorry," she sobs. "I'll never do that again...I'm so sorry."
"You're okay," Loki calms her as he rubs her back. "You're home...you're home...you're safe now."
Loki pulls Jade closer to his chest and rests his cheek on the top of her head – looking to you with teary eyes. While Thor was bringing Jade back, he had called and told you and Loki what he had stumbled upon – making sure the two of you knew that Jade would be in an extremely vulnerable and shaken state. Thor completely expected Loki to hunt down the piece of trash that attempted to assault his daughter and murder him slowly; however, he couldn't help but beam with pride when the only words that came from his little brother's mouth were words of concern and relief, and instead of making it his mission to hunt down the rat, Loki was more concerned with having his little girl in his arms again – everything else would have to come second. Thor offers to take the twins and your son for the weekend – giving the two of you time to get Jade settled back down, but the last thing you and Loki want is to have any more of your children out of your sight, so Loki asks his brother to stay on the couch to help to tend to the younger ones. Happily, the God of Thunder agrees and makes himself at home once the three of you go back inside – Jade refusing to let go of her dad.
"Sissy!" Ivy squeals when she sees Jade come back into the house. Jade gives her a weak smile and clutches to Loki even more. "I colored this for you!"
Ivy hands a drawing over to Jade, and she carefully takes it. It's a drawing of Jade dressed as a princess with a sparkly pink dress and a tiara.
"Thank you, Ivy," Jade sniffs while looking at the photo. "I love it."
Emmy chuckles from the kitchen where they had been sitting. "I guess I was wrong, Ivy," she confesses and then turns to Jade. "I didn't think you would like it."
"Alright, enough," you intervene. "Uncle Thor is going to be staying for a couple of nights, so he's in charge, alright?"
"Dor," your two-year-old son giggles and points to his uncle.
Before you, Loki, and Jade head to a more private room, the two of you kiss the twins and son goodnight – making sure to tell them how much you love them and letting Thor know the important things to keep them under control. As the three of you head to your and Loki's bedroom, the house quiets down, and Jade throws herself on the bed – clutching a pillow to her face and screaming into it. With a wave of his hand, Loki has the three of you changed into comfortable sleep clothes, and the two of you quietly join your daughter on the bed – rubbing her back as she sobs and waiting for the other to say something.

Nobody dared to take a breath out of place, every profiler was packed into the room watching with careful eyes at the sobbing girl in the interrogation room through the glass. No one knew what their first step should be, but I guess there’s a first time for everything, right? Winging it was not something anyone in the BAU enjoyed doing, each case needed a thought out plan.
But they’ve seen this unsub before, they know the profile, the history, they know her. So why was she crying so hard that the weight of her head became unbearable, leaving her only option to sob into the crooks of her elbows as best as she could with wrists cuffed to the table?
Nobody knew, except for Spencer Reid.
Emily was hesitant, as expected, to blindly send in one of the best agents she’s ever seen into the room that with each tear shed slowly morphed into a lion’s den. Reid deserved better, she knew that, especially since the last time they dealt with an unsub like this one, Spencer had to be so far out of the loop that the case almost broke him.
He put up a good fight though, and if the determination set in his eyes wasn’t enough to inform the unit chief that she was not winning this argument, his deviance to storm through the door, startling the young woman chained down definitely did.
Why was it always Spencer?
Tears:
“P-please, I didn’t do anything.” Those were the first words anyone’s heard her say since the arrest, even if they were separated by sniffles and choked out sobs.
Spencer just stared down at her, not taking the risk to further entertain the stuttering girl with wet cheeks and tired eyes.
“I promise I’m not a murderer. You have to believe me, please.” That promise whispered so quietly made with unbreakable eye contact urged him to take a second to reevaluate the situation.
She was apprehended in place of Jacob Hughes, the man they had originally been looking for. There was a chance she wasn’t complicit, a chance she was innocent. Maybe Jacob placed a hair of hers at the latest crime scene because he knew they were closing in.
Or maybe she is just as sick as he is.
“Prove it,” Spencer said, his tone loud and assertive, leaving no room for argument. She didn’t plan on fighting his demand anyway.
“I- I haven’t seen Jacob for days. He drugged those men, and did h-horrible things. Those poor men.” This struck a nerve, everybody could tell, even the one person in this interaction that wasn’t a profiler.
Spencer’s shoulders tensed for a millisecond, but she saw it. She saw what her words were doing to him, after all, he used to be one of those poor men she felt so sorry for.
Another loud sob echoed off the concrete walls before she bit her bottom lip and took a deep breath.
“I can’t believe he mur... did that to them. H-how could he?” Spencer watched as the young girl looked up to him like he held the answer to the million dollar question. He studied the way her eyes bounced around his face, looking for something, anything to relieve some confusion when it came to her fiancé.
“Jacob Hughes is what we call a vindictive narcissist and a sadist. He receives pleasure from hurting others, and in this case, drugging and torturing men because he feels he’s been wronged his whole life. The question, however, is why. I know you know, just like how I know you’re aware of his crimes.”
It was a blow so low it could’ve come from hell itself. Spencer regretted it immediately when he watched the way her whole body stiffened at the mention of her knowledge, but he had to be certain no matter the fallout.
“I-I still don’t understand. I’ve never seen him hurt anyone.” Denial, guilt and fear all jam packed into 3 little words that had his heart dangerously close to breaking. The sorrow in her eyes believable enough that Spencer left his standing position between the suspect and the door to sit directly across from her.
She watched his movements with careful eyes, only stealing glances from her peripherals before returning to her cuffed wrists.
“Maybe you’ve never seen him physically hurt anyone, but we know what he does to you.” It was the first and only time Spencer let any emotion, as fake as it was, show in his responses. How could he not try when the girl resumed her sobbing at the implication of her past deception from the man she loves?
“You know nothing,” she whispered back, her tone laced with defensive anger.
“I know everything.” Was he challenging her?
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Was she challenging him?
“You know what it means.” Yes, he was.
“Do I?” Yes, she was.
The two stared at each other for the entire tone shift in the stuffy interrogation room. The other profilers on the other side of the mirror had no knowledge of how thick the tension had just become because unlike Spencer, they weren’t standing in the middle of it.
Small sniffles were the only noise breaking through the quiet until suddenly, they just stopped.
“Ugh, fine! You win this round. My eyes are starting to hurt from all this goddamn crying. Do people actually cry this much when you arrest them?”
Spencer leaned back in his seat, crossing his arms to clearly convey just how unamused he was with the girl’s antics. She watched him intently, picking apart every move down to the muscle trying to search for any indicators that her little performance worked even a fraction of what she was hoping for.
And she got her wish in the form of the agent’s fingers tapping lightly at his sides under perfectly muscular, if she may add, arms, because any other movement would have been too obvious.
Spencer Reid was getting nervous, because the second her facade faded, he lost the upper hand. She just had to get him trapped in here.
“Oh come on. Not even a ‘good job’? I wasn’t expecting full blown applause, but some appreciation for that show would be nice.” Still, Spencer gave her nothing. He needed her to keep talking, and filling silence was a sure way to make certain she did just that.
“I’ll tell you what you need to know, but first you have to admit that I had you fooled for a second there.”
Lies:
“No.” Unexpectedly, instead of getting frustrated with Spencer’s refusal to play along, she just smiled brighter. This was exciting to her, and it was getting on his nerves.
“What gave it away? Did I look to the left before I spoke or something?” Spencer kept his mouth shut. “Come on, what’s my tell? Enlighten me.”
She copied his movements as Spencer leaned over the cool, metal table slightly, eyes racking over her face, lingering on certain parts for longer than others.
“No.” At this, she huffed back in her seat, leaving the close proximity that would later be used as a secret tool against the doctor before he had the chance to catch on.
“If you’re just going to shut down every single one of my proposals, then why am I here?”
“You’re here because you’re a suspect in a series of 7 murders in the past 5 weeks.” She perked up at his words, amusement dripping from her features.
“Finally, Doc has something more to say than just ‘no.’ Tell me, was that so hard?”
“No.”
“Ugh!” Rolling her eyes would be giving ammo to the enemy, but the urge to do so was quite strong. In fact, she almost did until she caught a glimpse of her reflection in the one way mirror.
“I’m serious when I say this,” she said, looking directly into Spencer’s eyes so he couldn’t accuse her of lying. “If you take the cuffs off, I’ll answer everything.”
“No.”
“Please! They’re seriously starting to hurt. I put 100% into that performance, and now it’s coming back to bite me in the-”
“Fine!” Spencer stood up carefully, not walking around the table until he was certain the girl wasn’t a flight risk, or worse. When he did finally make his way over, she sat completely still, not taking her eyes off where his fingers grazed hers as the handcuffs unlocked.
A breath of relief escaped her as she rubbed her wrists with the opposite hands, eventually feeling the blood fully return to all 10 fingers.
“Thank you.” It was so vulnerable and raw that it knocked Spencer back for a second. They locked eyes, and something deeper than he was ready for passed between them.
He didn’t know what it was, all he knew was that he hated it so much that he tore his eyes away immediately to return back to his original spot seated across from her.
“Answer me this-”
“I’m gonna stop you right there.” Neither of them spoke for far too much time, and Spencer was growing more annoyed by the second.
“What?” It came out harsh, and mean, and downright cruel, but he couldn’t care less.
“Oh nothing, I just wasn’t going to answer anything. I really just wanted to fix my hair.” And, in being true to her words this time, she secured her hair into a messy bun using the elastic Spencer didn’t even realize was missing from his wrist.
“I’m putting the cuffs back on.”
“No wait,” she pleaded, halting Spencer’s move to get up. “They really did hurt, I wasn’t lying about that.”
“I don’t care.” He made his way over, forcefully grabbing both of her wrists before securing the handcuffs back on. Spencer only regretted his actions slightly when she winced at the metal now back to pressing into her skin.
“Yes you do. It’s your biggest flaw.” Instead of answering, Spencer just returned to his seat, leaning back with crossed arms. He didn’t need to listen to a psychopath tell him his flaws.
“You care too much,” she continued, not minding if he was listening or not. “It gets you hurt, other people hurt. I wish that wasn’t the case. You deserve better, Doc.”
Spencer didn’t engage, opting to gawk tiredly at the suspect, and watch the way her eyes flicker across his features, gauging for a reaction. She wasn’t done.
“Hey, okay, fine. I’m just messing with you,” she laughed, finally breaking her serious facade. “What? A girl can’t joke around while she’s being accused of murder?”
“Accused? Or caught?”
“Accused.” It was final, her tone immediately dropping to a fiery rage. Her defenses were up, and Spencer was never really good at playing on the offensive team.
This time, it was Spencer’s turn to analyze, watching the way the blood rushed to her cheeks with her rising anger level. How all of a sudden her eyes lost their playful glint, giving him the chance to fully see the soul buried deep in them. For a split second, she was completely unveiled right before his eyes.
Spencer, clearly not anticipating just how long the girl in front of him could hold her own, used his last bullet.
He placed the crime scene photos in front of her.
“You know who did this.” It wasn’t a question, he saw it in her eyes. Spencer watched the way they remained stoic even after looking at the bloody walls, and vacant eyes of the deceased.
“No.” Oh, how the tables have turned.
“Who are you protecting?” Her head shot up at his question, eyes flashing red before she blinked it away again. Subconsciously, she started to pick at her fingernails.
“No one.” It was a lie if he’s ever heard one.
Fear:
“You’re lying. Who is it?”
“I’m not lying.” She wouldn’t even make eye contact with him. Instead, she gave her undivided attention to her shaky hands confined to the table.
“Yes, you are.”
“No, I’m not!”
“Enough! Who are you protecting?!” At this, Spencer stood up and slammed his hands against the table with a strong amount of force that she flinched hard enough to further irritate her wrists.
He felt awful, the bouncing back and forth between them should have given him enough indicators that she wasn’t lying out of spite. But he couldn’t back down, he had her cornered and her only way out was to tell the truth.
“No one.” She wouldn’t look at him, even as she whispered. “Please stop.”
Spencer truly believed that he had her in a bind, an inescapable one at that, but it wasn’t the truth. Oh no, what the profiler failed to realize was she had him where she needed him.
“I have no information to give you,” she whispered before tagging along. “I’m sorry.” It was the first time she apologized for something Spencer could have seen as an inconvenience.
He believed her, too.
“I shouldn’t have yelled.” That was his form of an apology. Spencer wasn’t going to go any further with it, even if she was coerced into lying by whoever the true unsub is, she was still getting on his nerves.
Her hands were still shaking at this point, and she wouldn’t meet his eyes. Spencer just slumped back into his seat, settling into the silence between them until ultimately he was either called out of the room, or she gave him another indication that her game hasn’t ended.
A loud sigh bounced off the walls. “I don’t care that you yelled in my face. You think it’s the first time a man’s done that? You’re not special, Doctor.”
“I never said I was.” So the game carries on, but this time, she didn’t smile at his sarcastic response. Leaning back in her chair, she huffed a breath before continuing.
“You really want to be though, don't you?”
Lust:
She was pushing his buttons, trying so hard to dig under his skin till she was unremovable. She wanted Spencer to leave this room with her on his mind for the rest of his days.
She was close too.
“No, I don’t,” Spencer deadpanned, trying to keep a cool tone. If he continued to hand her the ammunition she needed, he would be left defenseless.
“Oh come on, loosen up. I was just joking.”  A smirk grew across her features, a thought crossing her eyes. One Spencer knew would not be in favor of his win tonight. “I could help you with that, you know.”
“No, I don’t know.” He did. Spencer wasn’t going to lie to himself and say that the woman sitting across the table wasn’t extremely attractive; she was. He just would never admit it aloud.
“I have a feeling you like to get rough, don’t you, Doctor?” She asked, sitting up and crossing her legs. The stare shared between the two of them was a mix between passion and anger, meeting in the middle to create a new kind of emotion.
“Is this fun for you?” She left out bait, and Spencer was stupid enough to fall for it. Emily once said that a pretty face slashed his IQ in half.
He couldn’t help but agree.
“Undo these cuffs, and I’ll show you what fun is.” She was toying with him now, and they weren’t going to get anywhere, but Spencer couldn’t find it within himself to get up and leave. She had him by the...
“I’m going to get that confession.” It was like he was five years old again, arguing on the playground with the older kids about how their insults didn’t make sense.
“What’re you going to do, punish me?” She asked, the last words in a hushed whisper. When Spencer’s cheeks grew hotter, and his eyes darker, she knew she had him.
“You do like to get rough! My, my, Doctor, you're keeping me at the edge of my seat here.” She let out a boisterous laugh before really digging the knife deeper. “Is that why you kept the cuffs on?”
Before he could snap back, the door flew open and Emily stood there with a tablet in her hand. “You need to see this.”
Spencer got up to leave, thankful for the reprieve even if he did have to return to the interrogation after speaking with Emily. He almost made it to the door before a voice called out behind him.
“Wait!” She called after him, the cuffs rattled when she instinctively went to reach for Spencer. “Aren’t you going to answer my question, Doctor.”
Playing chess his whole life, Spencer had never once played a game where Checkmate presented itself unexpectedly. He was always at least three moves ahead in his mind, seeing the inevitable end before he even began his gameplay. There was a first for everything, because his last move suddenly arose.
“No.”

FFXV | Headcanons | Meeting after 10 years
Request: How about HC for the chocobros where they see there S.O (you can choose if they were dating, engaged, or married) about 10 years (they were separated during the dark years and they meet about the light comes back) [by Anon]
A/N: Oh, that’s soooo good! ;-; These are all set at the end of Episode Ignis, the only TRUE ENDING, YOU CAN’T CHANGE MY MIND! >:( Hope you enjoy! ♥
Pairing(s): Gladiolus Amicitia x reader; Ignis Scientia x reader; Noctis Lucis Caelum x reader; Prompto Argentum x reader
+++
Tumblr media
• Gladio was a mess. You were his safe haven when he lost his father. You grounded him. You kept him together. And now that he lost Noctis... he lost you too. It was truly the worst thing that could have happened.
• He hoped you were safe. He knew that you could handle yourself in a fight... but he’d much rather fight at your side still. Of course he kept looking for you, although he had to realize that it was practically impossible to find you in this mess, the darkness with daemons lurking everywhere.
• He tries not to let guilt eat at him. You were both part of the crownsguard and when he left with Noctis to Altissia and Insomnia fell he knew that you couldn’t just drop everything and go after him. You had a duty to fulfill, just like him. Still, he had hoped that you two would have seen each other again before the darkness took over the world.
• It was shortly after the first sunrise in ten years that he heard your voice. That voice that always stuck to him during those trying times. That voice that would still talk to him in his memories. “Gladio..?” You whispered as your eyes fell onto the familiar figure in front of you.
• Gladio wasn’t one to become emotional. But he’d be damned if he didn’t shed a few tears when he engulfed you in a warm yet bone-crushing hug. He couldn’t speak. He could only hold you and make silent promises to never let you go ever again.
Tumblr media
• Ignis was a very rational man. Calm and collected at all times. Did that mean that he didn’t freak out every now and then? No. He just did it without anybody noticing. His form of freaking out was drinking tea instead of his beloved Ebony or eating Cup Noodles instead of cooking something himself.
• Of course, the people that knew him best noticed his behavior. And they knew why he wasn’t quite himself. First his eyesight, then Noctis and now you - his wife for not even two months. Life truly didn’t treat him kindly. It only seemed to take from him and not give a thing back.
• Ignis didn’t let it show, put on a brave face - but he was hurting. Hurting because he felt like a burden since he was blind. Hurting because he felt like a failure since they lost Noctis. Hurting because... he lost you. Well, he knew you weren’t really lost. You were hidden somewhere in a bigger city - safe and sound like you’re supposed to be. Unfortunately that also meant that Ignis had no chance of finding you in this mess.
• In the end though, his patience was well rewarded. After Noctis brought back the light, Ignis had a purpose again. And while he was so busy with being the King’s advisor again, time was flying by. Days turned into weeks, the city of Insomnia became a lively place again... and somewhere among those many groups that returned home... there was you. With a little travel companion. A girl, maybe... 10 years old?
• Ignis had cried openly before. His friends had seen it. You had seen it. He knew that nobody would laugh at him or blame him for that. And still, all of a sudden he felt so vulnerable when he held you in his arms again and sobbed like a little child. Speaking of little child... your daughter cried no less when she finally got to meet her father after all this time, clinging to him like her life depended on it. You were glad to finally be home again. The three of you had some serious catching up to do.
Tumblr media
• Watching Noctis disappearing into the crystal... was tough to say the least. You tried to help him, tried to stop it... but eventually he just vanished into thin air. You were left behind, gaping into a black crystal, unable to fight back the sobs that escaped your throat.
• Ten years were a long time. Even longer when you didn’t know if (and: if yes) when a loved one would return. You spent your days (or endless nights rather) doing what you did best. Fight monsters, heal injuries, make people smile as best as you could. It wasn’t always easy, but somehow you managed.
• Gladio, Ignis and Prompto made the situation more bearable. At least you didn’t have to fight alone. You still had your new found family, even if it wasn’t complete at the moment.
• The day Noctis returned to the four of you felt surreal. You couldn’t believe it. It was really him climbing out of the little truck. He looked etheral. Older, yes. But no less beautiful than you remembered him. And for a fraction of a second you wondered... did he remember you? What happened the last ten years inside that crystal? Did he remember anything?
• His smile answered your unspoken questions, his embrace erased all the doubts in your mind, his kiss holding all the bottled up emotions. “Just one.” He mumbled against your lips. “One more duty to fulfill. And then I am all yours again.”
Tumblr media
• Prompto was all over the place. First he was kidnapped, tortured, learned who (or rather what) he really was, suffered a minor existential crisis, lost his best friend... and now you were gone, too.
• All he wanted was to find you. You were always there to build him up, to support him, to boost his confidence, along with Noctis. He wasn’t sure he could manage without one of you - let alone with both of you gone. Scratch that, he was certain, he could not.
• But he had to. For you. For Noctis. For himself. He couldn’t always rely on other people, could he? He had to become his own support, his own boost. Even if it was difficult. But then again, there were also still Gladio and Ignis who became very good friends and tried to fill the holes you and Noctis left behind.
• Prompto was full of so many emotions when he found you again once the darkness was gone. He was so proud. Of you, for surviving those ten gruesome years. Of him, for becoming more independent and confident. Of the two of you, for still being together in a way... even though you haven’t seen each other in so long. Your bond was still there. Invisible but strong.
• The man Prompto became was different in a way. He looked older, he seemed calmer and more confident. But he was still a goofball. His lashes still tickled your skin when he peppered kisses all over your face to hear your melodious laugh. His freckled were still as gorgeous as you remembered them. He was still blushing so quickly. You two had to make up for quite some time. But now that everything was back the way it was supposed to be... you had all the time in the world, didn’t you?

Fighting For You
word count: 1530
request: Hi! Hello! Hey! I saw part of your conversation with the girl that is dating a cop and I was wondering if she’s okay with it of course, if you could use the “I’m fighting to come home to you” thing in a Steve x Reader thing?
a/n: this is part 1 of (undetermined) of me trying to finish requests that have been sent in ages ago. IM SO SORRY FOR THE WAIT AND THE QUALITY. it’s been hard to write but hopefully these will do. this was originally at 100 words, so i added some random subplot to bring up the count and I tried to make it relevant to the story. anyways, this isn’t proofread much so please excuse any mistakes.
Tumblr media
It had been weeks of radio silence that often left your mind pacing while you tried to go through the day. Everything was gonna be fine.
Those five words became a mantra for the time being since Steve left and while he had warned you that no communication was a possibility on this mission, you still couldn’t help but feel anxious that something had gone wrong. Steve was never one to give up.
It was a solo mission meaning Natasha, who you trusted to babysit Steve, was currently not with him. Instead she was playing babysitter for you and had now lured you into a personal “mission” at the orphanage. The redhead had recently divulged the secret that every Thursday afternoon when she disappeared for hours on end that she wasn’t out for a workout regime, but instead visiting the angels who so badly needed some adoration.
That night Steve left for his mission, Natasha had taken you out to dinner and a few drinks led to cries of sorrow and laughter. Tears pricked at her eyes and your own, when Natasha revealed that she didn’t want these kids to have an experience such as her years as an orphan. Somehow your conversation of the awful nachos on the bar counter had transferred into what your friend did when she disappeared midweek. When the words spilled from her mouth and she immediately apologized for oversharing, you were quick to reassure her with a fast and unexpected hug that almost knocked over the unsuspecting coffee mugs that had been sitting between you both. The mugs were empty from trying to sober you both up but they seemed to be doing nothing but getting in the way. Natasha never really opened up to you about her past despite almost knowing her longer than Steve, so this little exchange was a milestone in your friendship.
Since that crazy dinner, you have been spending your Thursdays with the kids and Nat, putting on a fake smile that would turn genuine just at the sight of the children getting excited to see you. It took your mind off Steve, albeit for a few hours, but that was better than none. The kids always seemed to know what to say to cheer you up and you did the same for them.
Last visit, you and Nat were given the privilege of speaking with the teens and this week you were given the opportunity to visit the little ones. More specifically, it was arts and crafts day and only seconds after walking in the door were you elbow deep in macaroni noodles and colorful string.
About ten kids clobbered to sit around Nat as she demonstrated the making of macaroni noodles when you noticed a young girl in the corner and a social worker crouched on the ground with her, a lollipop in hand to coax the child. You could see the fear in the young girl's eyes as she clutched the tattered blanket to her chest. Those sweet brown eyes were so sparkly you were sure you would’ve remembered her which drew you to the conclusion that she was new.
You directed two other children to Nat who was currently playing art teacher as you slowly approached the scene in the corner. The social worker looked up at you with a hopeful smile and held out his arms as if saying “all yours.” He handed you the lollipop and quickly explained that she was new before dashing off to help another worker.
“Hey girly, what’s your name?”
You opted to sit criss cross on the floor, showing the girl that you planned on staying. She didn’t speak but instead turned to the wall. Silence filled the corner and you decided to speak up once more.
“My name is (y/n), and I come here with my friend Nat. Today we were invited to make macaroni necklaces with you! Do you like crafts?”
Some progress was made when you said Nat’s name and pointed her out to the child who had now turned to see what you were talking about. She softly shook her head when asked about arts and crafts and you gave a soft smile. Her hand quickly reached up to brush back a strand of short, black hair and you noticed the bracelet on her hand. It was a simple multi colored beaded bracelet that spelt out “VERA✿”
You reached out to grab her wrist and she complied, placing his arm in your hand.
“Wow, this is so pretty! Did you make this, Vera?” She nodded her head and quietly began to speak. At this you internally jumped around with joy at such progress.
“I like to make bracelets. My mommy used to make them with me, but then she left. Now I’m all alone.”
Her happy tone had turned dismal and a few tears crawled out of her eyes. Words never seemed to mean much to you, but her story made you choke back a sob. It seemed that the young girl hadn’t intended to spill the information, but she did, and now she was vulnerable.
“Oh Vera, I understand it’s no fun to be alone,” You squeezed her hand lovingly and offered a comforting smile, “My friend, Steve, he had to leave a few weeks ago and I feel lonely, just like you, but you know what?”
She cocked her head at your question.
“I have other friends who take care of me and don’t make me feel lonely. So Vera, why don’t we go out and make necklaces. We can go make some friends who will always be for you, hon!”
She was apprehensive to agree but slowly stood and dragged behind you. Nat saw you come over and waved you and Vera to come join the little boy beside her who looked in need of a friend.
-
Macaroni necklaces were a success and so was getting Vera to socialize. She made friends with the little boy, Liam, and the two were the chattiest out of the whole bunch. In fact, they both talked so much they tuckered themselves out that you and Nat brought them back to their sleeping quarters with the rest of the children. Natasha stood in the hallway as Vera led you to her cot and proudly showed off her teddy bear that sat in the middle. From a distance Nat could see Vera placing her macaroni necklace around your neck as you crouched down. Vera stood back and proudly eyed her creation before giving you a tight hug.
“Don’t worry, your friend will come back.” This statement caused you to be taken aback and luckily Vera was too busy climbing into bed to notice your shocked expression.  “You told me you will come back and you are my friend, so I think he will too.”  Vera continued as she pulled her teddy bear close and you covered her scrawny shoulders with the same fleece blanket that was once used as a makeshift shield. Walking out the darkened room, Vera’s words left you wondering if Steve would ever really come back.
-
As you and Nat drove home, all thoughts of Steve had momentarily dissipated leaving you with a second of bliss.
Not even a moment after your laughter ceased at Nat’s story of Liam trying to eat raw noodles, the ringer designated for Steve rang and your shaky hand voluntarily went to answer.
“Steve?”
“Hey, love,” Steve’s voice came out in a hushed whisper but a rough chuckle tumbled out with it, “You sound surprised to be hearing from me?”
“I thought something had happened to you. I-”
You were at a loss of words and Steve seemed to know this.
“(y/n), I’m fighting to come home for you. Never doubt that.”
His words seemed so sweet yet cringe so you could help but make a joke, “Wow, I didn’t know you were a motivational speaker on the side.”
Steve’s familiar laugh came through the receiver, “See, that is another reason I want to come home, so I can listen to your terrible jokes!”
Playfully offended you added, “Hey! They aren’t as bad as yours. I mean dad jokes, c’mon you can do better than that Rogers.”
“Yeah, yeah. We can settle this debate when I see you tonight.” You could practically hear the smirk in Steve’s voice because he knew darn well that he had just shocked you with this revelation of information. Your silence confirmed this for Captain and he proudly continued on.
“Well, I gotta finish cleaning up here, so I’ll see you for dinner, doll. Love you!”
All you could do was return the affection before hanging up and allowing the enormous smile to finally take over your face as it had been waiting to do so for so long.
“So, what should I wear?” Natasha took her eyes off the road and looked at you with a cheesy grin of her own. For a majority of the ride home, the two of you babbled about Steve like middle school girls on a first date.
Steve never failed to keep a promise to you and he wasn’t planning to do so now.

Damon Salvatore x Reader One-Shot | Katerina’s Sabotage Part 2
Tumblr media
Part 1 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
Includes: Nudity, angst, harsh language, and mentions of blood
________________________________________________________________________________
*Mystic Falls, Virginia; 1864*
The next day Stefan woke up abruptly, groaning loudly. He looked around frantically and saw he was near a river. He unbuttoned his shirt to see his bullet wound completely healed. His eyes then fell on a blue ring around his finger.
"Katherine had me make that for you weeks ago," Emily cut in.
"Where am I?" The brother questioned.
"The quarry just north of town. My brother and I brought you here last night. We found you dead in the woods," the witch answered.
"Where's Damon?" Emily nodded behind him, and he shot around to see his brother sitting near the water without a shirt.
"Am I -- am I a --" Stefan stumbled over his words.
"Not yet. You're in transition," Emily said.
"But how? I --"
"You had Katherine's blood in your system when you died," the Bennett interrupted his rambling.
"No. I never --"
"She's been compelling you to drink it for weeks, Stefan," Emily muttered with a frown.
"And Damon?"
"No compulsion was necessary. He drank from Y/N willingly."
~:*:~
Stefan walked towards his brother near the river, who didn't blink once, and sat down next to him. "I woke up last night. I didn't know where I was. I went to the church. And I watched them drag her inside. Both of them . . . . then they set fire to it. And the whole church went up into flames," Damon explained and stared blankly at nothing. He then looked up to his younger brother with such vulnerability that Stefan had never seen before. "They killed them, Stefan. She's gone," he began sobbing, taking shaky and long breaths to try and calm himself down.
~:*:~
The night previous was the worst night of Y/N's life since she found her entire family dead back in 1492. The love of her life was shot, she was taken by hunters, and betrayed by her sister. While the vampires were being loaded into the church, Katherine compelled one of the guards to let her go. Not both of them like she had promised. She promised. Y/N knew her sister, and she knew she wasn't the best person in the world, but when she promises something to her, she always keeps it. Only to her, though. Everyone else doesn't matter enough to Katherine to keep promises. Y/N was her only family left, and she'd never admitted it, but Katherine needed her.
But that night, she realized just how weak her sister really was. She got penetrated by her feelings for Damon, and that cost her to lose Katherine's respect towards her. Y/N was useless to her. So she let her rot in that tomb along with Pearl and all the others.
She was selfish and cruel, but she didn't care. Like she's done since 1492, she takes care of herself first. Not her sister. Not her friends. Or even Stefan. Herself.

*Mystic Falls, Virginia: The Church Tomb; Present Day*
"Look, he needs leverage. He needs to know that you're not going to shut the door when he gets inside. I get it. I'll go," Elena cut off the argument between Damon and Sheila.
"May I?" Damon sniggered and grabbed a torch. The vampire dragged the doppelganger inside.
"What is that?" Elena whimpered in fear.
"They can sense you. Now, where is she?" the 25-year-old mumbled. He ran off, leaving Elena by herself in a tomb full of vampires.
"Damon!" Elena cried and looked around in the darkness, getting slightly frightened.
Damon searched for Y/N or even Katherine as fast as he could, trying not to trip over the bodies of decaying vampires. He looked over the tomb three times before starting to get furious.
"She's not down here. She's not even here!" the vampire screamed in pain as Stefan ran down next to him.
"What is it?" Stefan asked frantically for once, concerned for his brother.
"She's not here!" the older Salvatore barked and threw the blood bag he had brought for Y/N into the wall before letting out another cry. Y/N had placed herself in the very dark and secluded corner when she first arrived in the tomb. She didn't take any of Pearl's attempts to comfort her, and she hadn't opened her mouth to speak in 145 years. The last words she said was a sad whisper to her sister as she was shoved into the church.
She heard the Salvatore's voices and soon saw Damon with Stefan chasing after him as he let out his anger. She tried to yell to Damon but could barely part her lips.
"It doesn't make sense they locked her inside," Damon uttered.
"If we don't leave now, we're not getting out," Stefan stated firmly, but Damon kept muttering to himself.
"Damon," Y/N croaked, that was so quiet she wouldn't have been heard if it wasn't for the amazing hearing provided with vampirism. The two brothers snapped their heads to where the voice came from and saw the dirty fabric of a corset poking out from the blackness.
Both Salvatore's ran over to the corner and saw a lean figure slouched down. "Y/N?" Damon whispered and reached into the darkness, feeling the decayed skin of a hand. The older vampire handed the torch to Stefan and nudged Y/N out from the corner into the light.
The brothers gasped once they saw the iconic curly black hair that came with the Pierce sisters. "Y/N? Y/N, love, here. Come here," Damon bit his wrist before bringing it to Y/N's lips. Once it fell onto her tongue, she snapped alive and clutched onto her lover's wrist.
"Damon!" Elena shouted, but everyone ignored her until she ran in. "Please," she begged, but once she saw the eldest Salvatore feeding a vampire, her expression softened.
"Come on, Damon. She can feed later," Stefan rushed, and Damon stood Y/N up. She stumbled, but Damon caught her and picked her up bridal style. The three started running out, with Y/N clutching onto Damon's leather jacket. Once they got out, everyone let out a sigh of relief.
The fire went out, and the two Bennetts started panting as they unlinked hands. Stefan pulled Elena to his chest, but the younger Salvatore looked over to his older brother. Damon was looking at Y/N in pure horror at what's happened to her but also such joy that she's in his arms again.
Stefan let go of Elena and went over to his brother. Without one word, he patted Damon's shoulder and gestured up the stairs.
~:*:~
Back at the Salvatore boarding house, Damon walked up to his room without another word, with Y/N still encased in his arms. He set her down on his bed and walked into his large bathroom, turning on the shower. He went back over Y/N, who was still too weak to move well.
He slowly stripped her of her dress and other garments until she was completely bare. He lifted her back up and brought her to the shower. He set her down on the ground, and with his clothes still on; he washed the Pierce with tenderness.
~:*:~
Once Y/N was fully washed, dressed in some of Damon's clothes, and fixed up, Damon went downstairs and got her two blood bags. When he arrived, he sat down in the bed next to her and pulled her into him. As she downed the blood bags, her skin began to lose the greyness and plump back to its original form. Once she was done, she exhaled in euphoria.
Damon grabbed both bags and set them on the nightstand. Now, Y/N moved almost to her full ability and felt both physically and mentally stronger. She turned around to face Damon, who's face was serious. Every feature was tensed, and it looked almost sad.
"Thank you, Damon," the Pierce whispered and smiled lightly. She was going to kiss his cheek when he dodged her, making Y/N shoot him a hurt look. "What's wrong, love?" she questioned and ran her cold hand across his neck. He looked so different from what she last remembered. She knew the transformation would change him but not this much. His jaw was sharper, eyebrows thicker, hair shorter and straight, which she didn't particularly enjoy. His hair was one of her favorite parts of him; he looked older even though he couldn't age, shoulders were broader and more muscular, which made him heavier. However, he was still lean, and his eyes . . . . oh god, his eyes. They didn't look bright and lively like they were when he was human. They looked duller, sadder, and the most noticeable feature was how if you looked at them the right way, they pierced into your soul. Not in a good way. In almost a scary way. Or at least, it was scary for Y/N.
"Talk to me, Damon," she pleaded.
Damon's sharp eyes fell on hers and, without blinking, asked, "what the hell happened?"
Y/N was taken back by his language even though it wasn't bad, but Damon never swore. Ever. She pushed her shock aside and looked at him straight in the eye even though she didn't enjoy it. "That night in 1864, Katerina betrayed me. She compelled the guard of the church to let her go. She had a plan to escape long before they caught us, and she even talked to me about leaving Mystic Falls," she began explaining as Damon showed no emotions. "She promised me that we would escape together and that once we turned you and Stefan that I could be with you forever. Just like we planned. But I guess she changed her mind or something because she only compelled the guard to free her. Not me. So, I was left in that tomb with the rest of them. I don't know where Katerina is or why she did what she did, but it's something I can't deal with right now," once she finished, Y/N went quiet as Damon gazed at her.
"I'm sorry . . . . I'm sorry I didn't save you that night. I promised that I would protect you against my father, but I guess I was too weak. Hell, I couldn't even get the damn door down," the Salvatore groaned and placed his hands over his eyes. He took a deep breath and soon removed them.
Before he could look at Y/N again, her lips collided with his. He grunted in surprise but quickly kissed back. He had been starved of her kisses for too long, and he finally got to taste her again after more than a century. He was finally back with his love.

Wonderwall-part 3
Summary: While all of the avengers facility may be aware of your pregnancy there's someone else who also needs to know.
Pairing: Tony stark x reader x Bucky barnes
Warnings: swearing, Pregnancy shit, angst,
Wonderwall masterlist
Tumblr media
It had been 2 weeks sense everyone found out you were pregnant including yourself. things were back to semi normal. Everyone was treating you like you'd break if things happened to fast and bucky and tony hadn't said a word to each other. Not that they ever actually did speak to each other but now its less than usual. Bruce banned you from going on missions which everyone agreed to. It was the only time tony and bucky had agreed on something so you grumbled and accepted it.
You were currently sat in the main lounge watching tv with your feet up on the table. You had to admit a 9 month break was awesome. you heard the door open and close. “Y/n?”  you heard tony call for you. “over here” you yell back. you see tony round the corner. “hey how are you feeling?” he asks sitting next to you.  “mmmmmm” you grumble closing your eyes. your head falls onto his shoulder. he laughs and you move your head to his lap putting your legs on the side of the couch. “hey so uh I was thinking.” he starts. you tilt your head looking up at him “wow that's a first you say.” you say laughing.
Tony rolls his eyes. “sorry sorry go ahead what is it?” you ask. “Well sense things have calmed down here for the most part I was thinking of telling pepper. your going to be showing here soon and I just figured ya know” he says. you sit up “uh yea i mean obviously you'd have to tell her and sooner than later makes sense.” you said. “How and when you gonna tell her?” you ask. “Not quite sure. was thinking of taking her out ya know have her mood up before...” he trails off.
“before shattering yalls whole world?” you say blatantly. Tony makes a face of nervousness. “sorry...just...honest when nervous.” you said messing with your fingers. “I’m sure it'll be fine...right?” you asked. tony shrugged. to be honest he wasn't sure of anything. He hoped she understood this was never intended and that the cause of it only happened because they felt so alone and hopeless.
You already felt sick but the nervousness of how pepper would react made it worse. You launched up running to the restroom hunching over and puking your breakfast out. you groaned and tony came over. he rubbed your back calmly “shh shh its ok” he said softly. you sat back looking at him “ugh i know im gonna love this little one when their born but my god does this suck” you grumbled. tony laughed and pulled you towards him. you laid your head on his shoulder.
“hey i have an ultrasound next week they'll tell me how far along i am and we’ll see if the baby is healthy.” you said smiling. “that's amazing i'll definitely be there. Is bucky coming?” tony asked. you nodded “yea he's been really supportive actually i'm so happy he's been so ok with it” you say with a smile. “I hope pepper reacts similarly. you got lucky ya know with buck and all.” he says looking down. your smile fades “i know...really fucked this up...Bucky still loves me and I still love him its just....different, hes different.” it was true ever sense you told bucky he had been off. He cared for you and still held you close and kissed you but everytime he left he used to kiss you but this time he just says bye. Its usually in a neutral tone and anytime Tony comes around you can see him become pissed off.
He cares for you and helps you with the side effects. Helps you with the morning sickness and cravings, dosent get angry when your mood changes every 2 seconds or when you watch sad movies and immediately fall apart. But hes still just...off. You knew he would stay and help but you wondered if things would be good again or if it'll only get worse when the baby is here.
“ok now” you start sitting up and walking to the bedroom, you sat on the bed and tony followed after. “tell me about the missions you know i gotta live through you now that i'm on house arrest” you say as tony sits next to you. “your pregnant not on house arrest last thing we needed was some dude giving you a sob story and you falling apart.” he said with a laugh. you hit his chest “uh huh sure that was why” you said. you moved and layed on the bed, tony laying next to you. “ok ok, the most recent a group tried to pull a major hack into a major bank” he said as you curled into his side. He spoke of how amazing it was to take them down. How steve and hom fought for control as usual. you laughed and smiled but over all you missed your team.
You missed being on missions, missed feeling included and missed the jokes and laughter and overall just missed being with them. you slowly fell asleep during his story. It was just so peaceful and nice you couldn't help it he was so warm and he was rubbing your back. Tony looked down at you and smiled, you looked so beautiful and at peace. Most days you held your guard up though it was falling more and more from your pregnancy. Moments like this you looked so vulnerable and at peace, he loved to just see you so...calm.
Tony looked up as the door opened and bucky came in. Bucky saw you curled into tony's side and straightened up. He closed the door and looked back at you two. “hey” bucky whispered “hey” tony said back.
“I guess i should go” tony said ready to leave this awkward situation. “no no stay she hasn't gotten much sleep recently with worrying and ya know puking” bucky said walking to the couch and sitting. “im sorry” tony said “Really i am” tony wasn't sure on what to say but he knew he needed to say something, anything to fix this.
“I’m going to tell pepper tomorrow” tony said trying to make conversation. “Y/n tell you she has an ultrasound next week?” bucky asked. tony nodded “I wanted to come if thats ok” tony basically asked for permission. This was new for him he never asked to do anything but he felt like he was overstepping. “their your child of course its ok” bucky said. And with that it was back to silence
“Tony I’m going to ask you this once and i need you to be honest. Do you have feelings for her?” he asked. Tony was taken back by this. Did he have feelings for you? “no no of course not shes your girl.” tony said. bucky shook his head “not what i asked” bucky said. “No i dont i promise” tony said. bucky nodded with a small smile “ok, now on with that, how do you feel?” bucky asked. He felt relieved that tony didn't have feelings for her and it made it much easier to be around him knowing this.
“how do I feel? uh strange i guess. It's strange to look at her and know there's a human growing in there.” tony said. It was strange because she was starting to show slightly and knowing it was the start to a human a child that was his was strange to him. “yea i get what you mean its like you know there was going to be a child there but to see it happening is just something else.” bucky said.
“yea...i also feel nervous you know, nervous of being a good father. My dad” tony started before looking up at bucky who had straightened up. They never talked of tony's father after word came out of bucky killing his parents. Not that tony talked of them much but it became nothing after the incident. tony looked at tony before looking back down at the bed. “anyways i guess over all else i'm happier than ever. I know i'll love this kid more than life itself so im just...happy.” tony said.
“how about you how do you feel?” tony asked. “happy i guess we talked of having a family before” he said. “what stopped you two?” tony asked hoping he wasn't pushing it. “Well being in the avengers and nearly dying on every mission mostly. then just us not sure on parenting not exactly like she had the best father and I was born in 1917 then when we finally decided to just do it....she went to space” he said looking up at tony. tony avoided his gaze looking anywhere but at bucky. he felt you turn in his arms and looked down seeing your eyes flutter open.
You looked up at tony and gave a soft smile before sitting up and seeing bucky. You looked between the two contemplating how no one got killed in the time you were asleep. “I should go now um guess i'll talk to you after i tell pepper” tony said to you. you nodded and smiled “sure don't get killed” you said before tony gave a small laugh and left. you looked at bucky “no one died” you said with a small smile. he laughed and nodded “nope no one died.” he said. “so does that mean things are ok again?” you ask. bucky nods “things are ok again” he said. you smiled “good” you wanted things to be the way they were where everyone could at least stand one another. where it felt like a family for those without one.
--
Later that night you sat on your bed watching tv while bucky and a few of the others were on a small mission. Anyone who wasn't on the mission was crashing from the last mission. You knew tony was going to tell pepper today which made you keep your phone on hand just in case. your phone dinged and you looked seeing a text from tony. “hide” was all it said. you of course not one to not listen when something says hide, hid in the secret spots you each had that no one other than you knew. It was originally in case bucky went all winter solider again but after that got fixed it simply became a spot incase some people attacked.
yours was a spot in the bathroom, figured it was least obvious, behind the toilet there's a small hole leading to a whole other room prepared with food and water and a bed that could last up to a month. you climb through still with your phone you text back “got it” and sat on the bed. Guess pepper didn't take it well.
You heard the front door slam and yelling. there was the sound of things being tossed around and door opening and closing, probably those who were sleeping and going to find out what the fuck was going on. You sat on the bed waiting and listening to the voices though it sounded like charlie brown teachers you could kind of tell by tone what was going on. Then you got a text from tony saying “come on out, don't worry steve and vision are down here so she won't kill you...or if she does you got back up” you sighed standing up and walking out.
You walked to the living room and saw pepper, tony, steve, vision all standing there pepper looked and stared you down. you slowly walked in “you” pepper said starting towards you. Steve moves in front lighting pushing her back. you hid behind steve “your ok” he whispered to you. “you absolute whore!” pepper yelled at you throwing glass at you. you screamed hiding behind steve fully. “we didn't know we'd be back!” tony yelled. “Pepper-” you wanted to apologize fix everything “No you shut the fuck up!” she yelled. you jumped back and steve put a protective arm around you.
“I don't want to hear it! Were done” pepper said “pep” tony said and pepper turned around slapping him. you moved from your spot by steve to tony. Pepper took the chance and slapped you. you stumbled back and tony grabbed your arm. “done” pepper said walking out slamming the door. steve moved to you “you ok?” steve asked. you felt tears brewing in your eyes. “guess its over” tony said. you pulled away and walked to your room curling up. A few minutes later there was a knock. “mmm” you grumbled. the door slightly opened.
steve came in and sat next to you “you ok?” he asked. you looked up at him and put your head in his lap “I just want to sleep” you grumbled. steve nodded and stroked through your hair. You fell asleep quickly and soon bucky came in. His face was washed in panic. “you heard?” steve asked. bucky nodded “is she ok?” he asked. steve shrugged “said she just wanted to sleep” he said. bucky nodded and sat next to you. “pepper broke up with tony” steve said. “figured” bucky said rubbing your arm. you curl up between bucky and steve. bucky's head rested back against the headboard and slowly fell asleep. steve wasn't sure on what to do so he just stayed stroking your hair as you fell asleep and looking at how at peace his best friend seemed for the first time in his life.

HELLO lee miya lers joe and cherry please? (//0>0//) love u <3 💞
aww gee thanks anon, i love you too!! <3
Tumblr media
too cute for words
◦◦,`°.✽✦✽.◦.✽✦✽.°`,◦◦
Sometimes, Joe thought Miya could be too cute for words.
Sure, the kid usually acted like a brat and rather egocentric, but when he wasn’t being snippy, he was just like a little relaxed cat; happy-go-lucky, caring, and sometimes rather needy. Of course, Joe was happy to get him anything he needed, especially if he was in the middle of a game; as a closeted gamer himself, he understood how important it was to have whatever he needed around him to minimize the amount of times he needed to get up to fetch things himself. He usually asked Cherry to get things for him, but he usually didn’t get him to oblige without an argument or two.
Miya was a different case. Joe was rather different than Cherry in which he would usually go by his requests rather quickly, but he also didn’t want to start an argument with the boy. It wasn’t a wonder why people in public would look at them like they were father and son; in fact, at the grocery store, he was asked by an older woman for him and “his son,” meaning Miya, to move out of the way for her to get some milk. Joe swears he would never hear the end of that; Miya always teased him about being his dad, and, of course, being Cherry’s boyfriend, Cherry would be called “mom” by him.
Joe had actually tried to convince Cherry that Miya was cute. Naturally, every time, Cherry had denied it, calling Miya a cheeky brat and saying something along the lines of “he needs to start showing self-awareness.” Joe wouldn’t necessarily deny that there was a truth to Cherry’s words, but it still felt to him that his boyfriend was missing something about the teen’s character. So, he figured that a good starting point would be to spill a piece of information about the teen that he personally thought was cute.
That piece of information? Miya was deathly ticklish.
Initially, Cherry had scoffed and rolled his eyes, mentioning that being sensitive physically shouldn’t be the hallmark of determining whether or not someone was cute. However, Joe had noticed a spark in the long-haired man’s eyes, something that he personally read as curiosity. After some convincing, he managed to get Cherry to agree to at least watch and get his own opinion on the case. He agreed after a little while, albeit reluctantly.
It was a Thursday evening, and Cherry, Joe, and Miya were hanging out in the VR room of Dope Sketch, while Oka, Reki, and Langa were out on the main floor doing some last-minute cleaning before closing the shop. Miya was sitting on one of the oversized beanbag chairs in the corner, tucked into a racing game on his 3DS, and Cherry and Joe were hanging together on the couch on the opposite end of the room. Remembering his conversation he had with Cherry a few days prior, he figured that this was the perfect time to strike.
Miya was absorbed in his game, as always. Joe had begun to sneak up behind him and, once he was close enough, he grabbed his hood and pulled it over his head, yelling, “BOO!”
Miya practically jumped six feet in the air with a squeal of alarm, his game forgotten. He turned around and glared at Joe.
“What on earth, man?” he hissed. “I was almost about to beat that level!”
“You can’t leave yourself in a vulnerable position like that,” Joe teased.
“I’m not vulnerable! You’re just being an asshole.”
“Man, you’re awfully cocky for such a young one.” Joe began to roll Miya’s hoodie back over his head. “And such language! I think we need to teach you a lesson.” The man then proceeded to sneak a glance at Cherry, hoping that the other knew that he was about to enact his plan.
The long-haired man only rolled his eyes.
“Punish?” Miya sputtered, beginning to squirm as Joe wrapped an arm around his shoulders to hold him steady. “You’re not my- waHAHAHAIT!!”
The teen suddenly burst into laughter when Joe suddenly dug his fingers into the sides of his stomach. The game was forgotten long ago, but at this point, it didn’t look like Miya was going to be finishing that boss level any time soon. The boy kicked and thrashed, letting out loud, chest-deep squeals whenever Joe managed to hit a sweet spot.
At this point, Joe didn’t even need to supervise the teen; he was way too easy to pin down and tickle to death. He was now practically staring at Cherry, and the long-haired man’s expression seemed to change rather rapidly from what it was when they had first arrived to the store. There was now a curiosity brimming in his eyes, and he was no longer giving that permanent frown; rather, his lips were slightly parted, making him look very curious.
Joe flicked his head to the side, a gesture for Cherry to join in. It took a few moments, but the other soon stood up and walked over to join the party.
“To think that there was no real way for me to express my dissatisfaction with your attitude,” Cherry sighed as he sat down at Miya’s other end, grabbing his ankles and placing them in the crooks of his elbows, his fingers in the perfect position to run his fingers along the bottoms of his socked feet. Miya let out a shriek of alarm, which was quickly displaced by raucous laughter as Joe and Cherry began to simultaneously attack the parts they were hovering over.
“OKAHAHAHAHAY I’M SOREEHEHEHEHE!!!!” Miya cried, thrashing and kicking with all his might. He really couldn’t take any more than five seconds of tickling; he’d rather not be tickle tortured at all, for that matter.
“Sorry for what?” Joe pried, just like a parent.
“FOR BEEHEHEING MEEHEHEHEAN!!” Miya was practically screaming now, begging through his laughter that had just begun to sound like he would break into sobs at any point. Cherry, understanding the noise, began to back away, but Joe, on the other hand, threw in some last-minute armpit tickles before backing off, letting the teen breathe.
“See what I mean, Cherry?” Joe gestured to the panting Miya, laying on his back in the beanbag chair with his arms all splayed out. “I told you he could be cute.”
Cherry only glared at him, but he smiled after a moment. “...I guess you’re right.”
“Hey, what?” Miya snapped. “What’s this about being cute? Of course I’m not cute!”
“Sure, your attitude surely isn’t,” Joe fired back. “But like I said: when you’re vulnerable, you can be pretty cute sometimes.”
And then, as expected, the rest of the evening was spent with Miya and Joe playfully taunting each other, with Cherry on the end, laughing at their shenanigans. He would most certainly get chewed out for playfully calling Miya “son,” but as long as he looked cute, he didn’t mind.

Tumblr media
It felt as if you could read everyone else’s thoughts through the silence. The car kept moving at a fast speed as you passed cities and villages. From time to time you would worry Five was going to lose control of the car, but he never even flinched.
He just looked at the road before you; stress and worry were clear in his eyes. There was so much he needed to figure out. Who were you going to be from now on? And him? And his siblings? Were you going to hide forever?
“Five” you whispered. He didn’t hear you. Or maybe he did and he chose to ignore you. “Five” you said again, this time catching his attention.
He turned to look at you for a moment and then he focused on the road again.“What?”
“Can we stop for 5 minutes at the next gas station, please? I have to wash my hands.” you said quietly looking down.
He pursed his lips before he spoke again. “No.” Five was just being direct. The more time it took you to get to Dallas, the more vulnerable you became.
Dallas…
You fell through the vortex a couple of months before Five arrived. With no idea where the others went or how to find them, it was really just you, all alone. You were the last one Elliot took a picture of before the chaos of the second apocalypse began. The alley was strange, and so were the people. Everything was different here. You were disoriented and scared. According to the confused strangers when you asked them the date, you were somewhere way before your birth.
First thing you realise when you don’t even have a home anymore is that you need money. It can be so crucial. But how will you, a nobody in the 60s, survive if all you knew how to do, was sing? Music was how you met your best friend Vanya for the first time: at an audition. And after that followed the concerts. The public loved the two of you.
So you did what you did best.
One day, while walking aimlessly on the busy streets, searching for a place selling cheap food, you started singing your favourite song. A song no one around had ever heard, a song you danced to with Five once. People started to gather around you and listen as you went on. This was it, this is where you were in your element. Your father forced you to take singing lessons when you were four. You didn’t enjoy it at first, but you grew up to love it. People clapped and left you money before going on about their day. So you ended up spending the entire day there. By nightfall you had been given enough money for the whole week.
You were leaning on a cold brick wall and eating a sandwich when you saw someone drop a newspaper. Curiously, you grabbed it and were shocked by the headline.
“Young woman sings in front of a bakery stealing every Texan’s heart. Who is the mysterious singer to whom many would empty their pockets for a show?
You had been living in an apartment above The Rosemary Club, the place you worked at now. You sang almost every night and earned a lot of money and visitors for your boss, so he let you stay there.
One night, you had a special visitor. He wasn’t there to see you specifically; he was working, just like you. Luther went everywhere his boss went, he was his bodyguard. You made eye contact a couple of times but never spoke on that evening. You couldn’t even look at him without cringing away. Not after what he did to Vanya. Five might say that she’s the bomb, but in your mind, that bomb was pretty much activated by Luther. He tried to talk to you but you avoided him as much as possible.
“y/n! Wait, stop running away, God!”
“What do you want, Luther?” you gave him a cold look.
“To talk to you? Isn’t that what normal people do after they haven’t seen each other for a long time?” he asks.
“I don’t want to talk to you.” you said and ordered a drink.
“Jesus, y/n, what's wrong with you?”
“Do I have to remind you that we’re here because of you?”
“Because of me? What do you mean, didn’t you see how Vanya literally destroyed the M-”
“Shut up. I don’t care.” you cut him off. “Have you met anyone else besides me, you stalker?”
“No.” he admitted. ”I tried searching for Allison but they haven’t found her yet.”
“Right. Amazing. Five? No news about him either?” His expression softens. He knew about your relationship with Five, and how much you two meant for each other.
“No, I’m really sorry. I don’t know where he is…” his voice only getting smaller when he saw the disappointment in your eyes.
You looked up from your drink and to the big man next you. “Then you can leave. I have to go get dressed.” You put your glass on the counter and left.
Your days in Dallas were easy. Life was always the same and you knew what to expect. Sometimes Luther and his boss would show up at the club and you would ignore each other. You sang, you were introduced to some people and you would make small talk with the bartender. Day after day, always missing your friends. Missing 2019. Missing Five. Your life was easy, but you were alone for the most part. You missed cuddling with Five before you went to sleep together and then waking up in his arms. You missed how he would come and pick you up after practise. How he would kiss you after every concert and tell you how proud he was of you. You missed him truly.
The bow to the public mixed with a charismatic smile and a wave was how you always ended a good show. Walking off stage you rolled your eyes when you saw who came towards you.
“There’s someone who would like to talk to you.” he said with a stupid smile planted on his face.
“I’m on break.” you tried to walk away. Luther grabbed your arm and spun you around so you would be facing him again. “Hey! What are you doing? Back off!”
“Believe me, y/n, you really should go talk to him”
You eyed him suspiciously. “Well alright then.” you said sarcastically. “But keep your hands to yourself.”
“Yeah, right, sorry.” he said and stepped to the side . “Come with me, he’s waiting outside.” he babbled before leading you to the main entrance of the club, one which neither of you used. This all seemed sketchy. If he was trying to kidnap you, I’d be no surprise.
The air outside was cooler than usual. You crossed your arms and huffed.
And then you saw him. Right there, alive and in front of you. He was well. He survived.
He was still wearing his uniform, which was clean. He must've just arrived.
You ran to him as fast your red heels allowed you to and he met you with a warm embrace. He still smelled exactly like himself. A day to him, months for you. Is this what it felt like for him when he was stuck in the future? You hugged him tight and inhaled his scent deeply trying to forget all these nights you cried, hoping he would come through the door and hug you. Hoping he would materialize in front of you like he did for his father’s funeral.
The man still looked young, but you knew damn well who he was. He wasn’t someone you’d forget that easily. Finally, he was here, with you.
He pulled away and it almost pained you. It was crazy, of course, to think that after all this time you’d lose him again, but even as much as moving an inch scared you now that he was right here.
“y/n.”
“Five”
Your lips melted together in the most awaited kiss of the century. Of all time maybe. His hands glued themselves to your waist again and you saw him perfectly in the dim light of the alley.
Your eyes were empty. You wanted to wipe your hands but the blood on them had dried already.
“Five, please I need to wash my hands. I need to- I- I have to wash it all away- Please”
He hated that he had to hear you beg and yet he couldn't stop. It’s for her own safety, it’s for our safety, he would think.
“y/n we can’t stop now. Even 5 minutes could mean our deaths right now. Please understand”
And you wanted to understand. You wanted to stay calm just like the rest, but they were trained. They’ve done such things before. You however, didn’t. Everytime you looked at your lap you saw her again. Laying there, lifeless. You saw the knife as it fell from your hands, making an awful sound when it hit the floor. Maybe if you’d wash them, the flashbacks would stop.
“Please, I can’t. I can’t do it. I can’t be like this. This is not- It’s not-”
Your breath was uncontrolled. Everytime you closed your eyes, you saw her again. Everytime you would inhale, she would exhale for the last time, again, and again, and again. You were fully sobbing now.
Vanya’s hand softly touched your shoulder from the back seat and you flinched. “Shh, it’s just me” she cooed “It’s just me”
You tried to relax a bit and then spoke again, hoping to get it right this time.
“I’m a bad person, Five. I just killed an innocent woman and… and I have her blood all over my hands.” you looked at him to find he was already looking at you. Guilt and regret were visible on his face. “I’m a killer, Five.” you wept.
He reached your cheek with one hand and wiped your tears away. “She wasn’t innocent” he stated. “She’s killed many people.”
“That doesn’t mean I’m any less of a killer”
“Well, then. I’m a killer too. More or less than my siblings here. So we are all on the same team.” he spoke calmly, as if the Hargreeves discussed murder at the dinner table every evening. Thinking about it twice there’s a big chance they did, when the old man was still alive at least.
“But you killed to survive, Five. You had to. I didn’t but she’s dead now.”
He huffed in annoyance. She’s not used to this. Take it slowly, he thought.
“You had to, too, y/n. It was self defence. If it wasn’t her then… well then let’s not think about it” he finished. Then I would be the one dead, you added, but only in your head because you knew how much he hated thinking about anything bad happening to you. He wanted you safe. You wanted him safe.
“Okay then. But as soon as we’re in Dallas we’ll stop and get new clothes.” you started to come back to your senses again. Right. You need to get to the city and find a way to trick the Commision. Or maybe you needed to hide. Or just freshen up and get on the road again. You didn’t know exactly what you were going to do, but if anyone found the map Diego was holding in his lap right now, they’d know exactly what your first stop was going to be. The Rosemary Club.

Praise - part 3 (Whittaker!master x reader)
Tumblr media
Gif credit: unknown
Warnings: angst, alcohol, eventually nsfw (tied up, blindfolded, praise kink, waxplay), but mostly a bunch of softness you’re welcome
Note: SURPRISE!! I didn’t plan on making a third part to this, but literally one person asked and that all it took for me to write it. This will be the final part because I don’t think I can take it any further. Kind of a longer one this time (2k more than usual) because ya girl tried to put some more storyline into it. Anyway, enjoy my loves!
———
“How do I look?”
You stood facing the mirror, smoothing out your outfit and taking in your reflection.
“You could be wearing a paper bag and I’d still eat you up,” The Master stood behind you, hands on your waist, her fingers digging into you almost painfully. “But I must say you look delicious in this.”
You frowned, confused. “I’m not a snack, you know?”
She laughed, moving hair from your shoulder and placed a wet kiss on the side of your neck. “No, darling, you are the whole meal.”
You turned, amusement clear on your face. “Are you hungry or something? Do you want to go and get some space food instead?”
The Master snorted, stepping away from you and picking up her jacket. “Let’s just go.”
Today was the anniversary of your renewed relationship with The Master. It marked one year of being by her side, of calling her yours and of being the happiest you’d ever been in your life.
And boy, what a year it had been. It started off just like it had before, full of passion, heated desire for one another and spending most days close to each other, taking every opportunity to touch, kiss and caress the other every chance they got.
Except this time, it didn’t fizzle out, it didn’t turn sour and it didn’t become toxic. Your relationship became stronger every day, your trust for each other grew to new heights and you considered it to be healthier than it ever was before.
Tonight you were going out to celebrate, to the club you reunited with The Master at. She had said it would be a nice full circle moment and you had to agree, for if you hadn’t gone there in the first place, you wouldn’t have seen her again and began a new journey with her.
——
The club was just as packed as it always was, each area full of aliens of all kinds, the line to get in twisting around the building.
The Master walked right up to the entrance of the club, ignoring the queue entirely. You hurried along with your hand in hers, trying to keep up with her quick pace despite her high heels.
The bouncer at the door nodded at the timelord in recognition and opened the door without a single word, allowing you both in immediately.
Sometimes it slipped your mind that you see a different side of The Master, others viewing her as dangerous and evil, not to be messed with and granting her whatever it is that she demanded for the sake of their lives.
She led you straight to the bar, pushing past the crowds and stopping at the VIP spot of the bar where orders were taken first before anyone else waiting. She ordered your favourite drink without you having to tell her and it made your stomach flutter that she actually did listen and learn about what makes you click and your favourite things.
The drinks were on the house just like they always were. The Master never paid for anything, ever and it was a hard press to even think of a time you’d seen her with real money in her possession.
“What’s got you so tense, darling?” The Master slipped a hand around your waist and pulled you in close, which admittedly did help to relieve the odd tension in your shoulders. “Relax, enjoy yourself. There’s no danger here. Not with me around.”
You didn’t need to look at her face to know a self satisfacted smirk was painted right across it. “Something just feels off.”
She took the glass from your hand and released her gentle hold on you, effectively removing the protected feeling it gave you. “Why don’t you go and dance for a while? Burn off some of that tension.”
You finally looked at her, your cheeks heating up just at the sight of her under the colourful lights. “I don’t know… I’m not really feeling it.”
Placing your glass on top of the bar, she held your chin between her finger and thumb, and brought her face inches from yourself. “I’m not asking. I want to watch you dance. Now be a good girl and give me a show.”
After a quick peck on the lips, she moved away from you and seated herself at an empty table with a perfect view of the dance floor.
You did as you were told, making your way over to the dance floor and taking a deep breath, trying to push away the bad feeling in your stomach and allowing yourself to enjoy the music playing loudly throughout the building.
You performed as best as you could for The Master, your eyes closed, your hips swaying and your hands roaming your body like you were exploring it for the first time. Eventually your muscles relaxed and you could let yourself move freely with the music, a soft smile gracing your face towards the end of the song.
The sinking feeling in your stomach returned, however, when you opened your eyes expecting to see The Master watching you with a proud look and instead catching the eye of The Doctor who stood only a few meters away from you.
He was with someone, a redhead woman, who stood closely by his side, smiling up at him.
She was beautiful, from what you could tell at this distance with flashing lights in your eyes, her frame petite and clothing that seemed more casual than your own, almost like she didn’t expect to be brought here and instead dressed for a different kind of outing - which didn’t seem entirely impossible given The Doctor’s habit of landing in wrong places at the wrong time more often than not.
You held his gaze for what felt like an eternity, your face no doubt mirroring his own expression of shock, confusion and hurt.
You hadn’t seen or spoken to The Doctor since you left him a year ago, abandoning him yet again without saying goodbye. You often wondered how he was, hoping you’d bump into him one day if only to know that he was still alive and well, your guilt eating you up inside, but now that it was happening, it felt like a metaphorical house of emotion was crushing you, not at all feeling the way you thought it would when you eventually saw him again.
In your stupor you hadn’t noticed The Master come to stand beside you, also looking in The Doctor’s direction, but eyeing up his new companion instead. “See? I told you that you’d be replaced in no time.”
The Master loved a good I told you so moment and this one hurt, like salt in a wound. She was right, of course she was. She knew from the very beginning that your spot would be filled by someone else almost as if you never existed and deep down you knew it too, but a small part of you hoped that it wouldn’t be so soon, that you meant more to him than just someone occupying an empty space in his life and replacing you as soon as you left.
You broke the eye contact with the timelord you once viewed as your best friend and turned to walk in the direction of the restroom. The Master was hot on your heels, throwing an unreadable look towards The Doctor as she also turned.
You fought back tears as you reached the door, flinging it open and pushing past everyone inside to get to the sink, ignoring the grumbles and annoyed comments thrown your way for the intrusion. You leaned against the basin, breathing deeply to try and keep the sobs at bay, your throat tightening.
From beside you, you heard The Master tell everyone inside to leave and give you both some privacy or else face the consequences. Of course they all listened immediately and hurried out until it was just you and her left in the room.
“What’s all this for?” She came to stand beside you, leaning back against the sink next to the one you occupied. “You’re actually sad? Need I remind you, you left him?”
You sniffled and shook your head, willing yourself to calm down. Again, The Master was right. You had been the one to leave him, not the other way around. You had no right to be so upset to see him with someone else when you came here with your own someone - someone he’d been at war with since post childhood, someone he thought would kill you in cold blood, someone who was the last person he wanted to see you run away with.
“I just didn’t think he’d find someone else so quickly.” You released a shaky breath and quickly wiped away a stray tear that had managed to escape. “Just hurts to know I’m so replaceable, that’s all.”
The Master laughed lightly from beside you despite you not having told a joke, her body twisting to face you. She turned you also, holding your shoulders in her hands and forcing you to face her.
“Darling, look at me.”
You did as you were told once again, bringing your watery eyes up to meet hers, the hazel colouring of them appearing darker under the dim and almost useless lighting of the small room.
“First things first, you are not replaceable. And secondly, the man is an idiot.” She rolled her eyes, genuine disbelief on her face. “He brought someone new into his life so fast because he didn’t know what he had standing right in front of him. He doesn’t define your worth, no matter how you felt for him.”
“And you do?”
She smiled softly, moving a hand to rest on the side of your face to gently stroke your pink cheek. “No, my love. Only you do, no one else.”
A warmth came over you, a deep and genuine love for The Master filling your chest. It wasn’t lost on you that during your year together, she had become softer, kinder and more loving. It seemed as if she was a different person from who she was in your first attempt at this relationship, more willing to show vulnerability and voicing her feelings out loud.
Although this was only ever shown to you. To everyone else she was still the heartless monster who killed for fun, none of them understanding how she managed to find someone to love her despite her evil ways. You had to admit that you understood their point of view, but to you, she wasn’t those things.
The door suddenly swung open and in walked the redhead who had taken your spot in The Doctor’s life. She smiled politely and grabbed some tissue from the stall furthest away from you, using it to blot away a wet patch on her tshirt.
“My friend is such an idiot sometimes,” she began talking as if you’d known each other forever. Or at all.
At that The Master made a face at you that said see? He really is.
“Spilt his drink down me while he was distracted by something. Not sure what he was looking at or what he was drinking, but it will come out, right? Do alien drinks stain? I guess I could— I’m sorry, have I interrupted something?”
You hadn’t noticed that by now both you and The Master were staring at the girl with unwelcome looks, your eyes having since dried up and The Masters hand that had fallen to your arm tightening.
“Your friend, what’s his name?”
The redhead gave a look of confusion towards The Master, but remained polite. “The Doctor. Maybe you know him? He’s quite well known.”
Your lover sniggered, stepping away from you and moving towards the other woman. “Indeed.”
You prayed silently that she would be nice, it wasn’t your replacement’s fault you were in this situation. She seemed nice enough and knowing The Doctor as well as you did, he probably hadn’t even told her you existed, that you held her place before her, that he had just been left alone without so much as a word about it.
“Let me buy you a drink.”
The Master’s tone seemed genuine, kind even. You didn’t understand what her motive was, but you sent out yet another prayer that it wasn’t sinister given that your last prayer was seemingly heard and granted.
It took very little time to convince the other woman to allow The Master to buy her a drink, the excuse of let me make up for his mistake passed by your ears and you knew that although it was said directly to the redhead, it was also meant for you.
Your hand stayed firmly planted in The Master’s, a new drink held in your other. You sipped on it slowly, feeling tired at the wide range of emotions you had experienced in such a short amount of time and hearing The Master make small talk with the other woman who also had a new drink in hand.
From the corner of your eye you saw The Doctor standing on his own, just like he had been the first time he’d been left on the dance floor all that time ago, bewildered at what he was seeing.
It suddenly clicked in your mind what The Master was doing, why she had invited the redhead for a drink at the bar. She wanted The Doctor to see that she had yet again taken his friend from him, allowing him to see that they would rather spend time with her than with him and sending out a message that no matter how many times he replaced his companions, she would be there each time to steal them away and give them something better.
The Master was smart and carefully calculated, her plan working perfectly, The Doctor’s fists bunched up and his brows knitting together into a displeased frown.
The redhead eventually felt bad for leaving ‘her friend’ behind and said her goodbyes, making her way back over to the man who still looked lost and angered.
As you sipped on the neon green liquid in the glass you held, you turned your attention back to The Master. She was already looking at you, a brow raised as she waited for you to say something.
“That was painful.”
“I know,” she moved a strand of hair away from your face and behind your ear. “But I had to send a message. No one hurts my girl.”
Your breath hitched in your throat, a surge of emotions yet again came crashing down on you like a tsunami. Tears brimmed your eyes once more and had The Master not pulled you in for a loving kiss, your bottom lip would’ve begun to wobble.
“My good girl.” She kissed you over and over again, placing her drink on the bar so that she could wrap her arms around your waist and pull you onto her lap, making you straddle her on the bar stool that miraculously took your combined weight without a problem.
You continued to make out in front of everyone, your arms around her neck and her hands grabbing at your body in a desperate need to feel more of you. It wasn’t long before you unconsciously began to wiggle in her lap, grinding down on her thighs in search of a little friction.
“Take me home.”
The Master smiled against your lips, opening her eyes to search yours for confirmation that you actually meant what you said.
But of course you did. You wanted nothing more than to be in the comfort of your own home in the TARDIS and to spend the rest of the night in a blissfully heightened state with your lover on your anniversary.
——
“Bath?”
Stepping into the TARDIS, you shrugged off The Master’s jacket that she had placed over your shoulders to keep away the chill on the short walk from the club to the timeship that she had disguised as a house not even a few minutes away, insisting that it was too cold for you not to wear it because humans feel temperature differently to timelords and you’d freeze to death if you didn’t.
You hummed happily at the thought of soaking yourself in hot soapy water. “I’d love that.”
You both made your way to the bathroom and you began to strip down as The Master ran the water into the tub, joining you in removing her clothes once she had added the bubbles to the running water.
She reached out for you and held you in her arms, both of you naked and falling into a quiet moment where no words had to be spoken to know what each other were thinking and feeling.
Once the bathtub had filled up with enough water, you both slipped in, moaning in unison at the muscle relaxing temperature. You spent a while washing each other and unwinding in each other’s embrace, The Master’s hand slowly rubbing circles between your legs until you shook and came undone for the first time that night.
When the water began to turn cold, you stepped out and dried off, carefully rubbing each other down with soft fluffy towels until you were dry enough to make your way to the bedroom without creating a trail of water droplets behind you, the air drying you off completely by the time you got there.
You laid on the bed patiently, ready and waiting for The Master to join you.
She pulled a pretty patterned tie from the drawer and smiled at you when she came to meet you at the bed, your submissiveness never failing to bring her happiness.
She leaned down to kiss you softly, crawling on top of you in the process. “Arms up, love.”
You obeyed without question, lifting your arms above your head. The Master tied them up, looping the tie between the bars of the bed frame so that you couldn’t bring your arms back down.
“Is this okay?” She brought her kisses down to your neck, wet and warm, and torturously slow.
You moaned out a yes, your stomach twitching at her touch that was moving lower, your toes curling in anticipation.
She kissed down your body, making sure to hit all the sensitive spots that only she knew about, her hands skimming down the curves of your waist towards your legs.
She lifted a leg and rested it on her shoulder as she brought her head between them. She kissed lazily down from the inside of your knee to where you desperately needed her between your thighs, your hips raising on their own accord.
“I’m sorry tonight didn’t go as planned, but I’m going to make it up to you, darling.” The Master used a finger to slide into your wet heat, her tongue quickly following, earning a strangled moan in response. “I promise.”
It was rare for The Master to apologise for anything even for something that was her own fault, so for her to apologise for something out of her control was new territory for the both of you.
You wanted to tell her not to be so silly, not to apologise for something that wasn’t her fault, but whimpers and gasps filled your throat, not allowing any words to be spoken.
You also wanted to hold onto her, your hand tangled in her hair, keeping her where she was and encouraging her to keep going, but with your hands tied to the bed, the best you could do was tug desperately on the fabric restricting them and pray that it will eventually break and set your arms free.
The white hot coil in the pit of your stomach began to wind up tighter and tighter, and you knew that with The Master’s mouth working you so expertly to the edge, it wouldn’t be long at all before you fell apart.
And you were right, crying out at the blinding pleasure, setting a new record for yourself at how fast you had tipped over the edge.
The Master sat up and reached over to untie your hands, slipping the tie from between the bars and allowing your arms to flop down either side of you.
“Can you keep going?”
You nodded breathlessly, your eyes falling closed in an attempt to concentrate on bringing your breathing back to a normal rhythm.
“Keep your eyes closed.” The soft tie was placed over your eyes and tied behind your head after she had encouraged you to lift it up for a moment. “Good girl. Now tell if it gets too much and I’ll stop, alright?”
“Alright.” Your voice came as a whisper, raw and forced.
The sound of sparking hit your ears and your head turned in its direction, unable to make out what it was just by the sound of it.
The Master laughed softly, her arm smoothing over your arm reassuringly after seeing your reaction. “Relax, I just lit a candle.”
You took a deep breath and allowed your body to fall limp into the mattress beneath you, revelling in the feeling of The Master’s slow kisses that she was now placing along your stomach.
“Another deep breath, love.”
You drew in another and as soon as your lungs were filled with air, a sharp searing heat hit your sternum, right where The Master had placed a kiss seconds before.
You released the breath quickly with a whimper, your mouth agape in shock. “What was that?”
“Wax.” The Master spoke nonchalantly. “Want me to stop?”
You thought it over for a moment. Did you want her to stop? This was certainly new and sure you’d spoken about it previously, but you hadn’t been expecting it and no, you decided, you didn’t want her to stop.
This was akin to spanking, pain at first that fizzled into pleasure. The heat of the melted wax that was poured onto your skin lasted mere seconds before cooling into something warm and tingly, setting your nerves on edge and bringing a heightened sense of gratification.
“No, keep going.”
You knew that she was smiling, pleased with your willingness to experiment and the trust you had in her to keep going and not bring you any unnecessary pain.
And keep going she did, dripping hot wax across your body, watching how you reacted to the heat in more sensitive areas compared to the more desensitised parts of your body that saw the light of day more often.
Each time the wax settled onto your skin, it hurt less and less, stinging pleasantly and morphing into a heavenly warmth. The Master kept up the practice of kissing right where she planned to pour, giving you a heads up every time, something you were grateful for.
With your sense of sight taken away from you, your other senses intensified, making each touch, each whisper of encouragement all the more rewarding.
The Master eventually stopped despite your moans and begging for more, supposedly because the candle had burned down and run out of wax, but she continued to show you attention in other ways.
She remained close, her hands roaming your body lovingly, worshipping you with her kisses and her words. She allowed you to rut against her thigh, leaving a wet spot on her skin as she sucked on your neck below your ear, your arms encircled her shoulders and keeping her in place so that you didn’t lose your rhythm against her if she moved.
“So good for me, darling,” her whispered words in your ear felt like a song from an angel, supporting you on your journey to otherworldly bliss. “My good girl.”
After a little while longer and a few more orgasms, you were completely spent, your body aching deliciously, your eyes feeling heavy after a long evening.
The Master held you close as you drifted off to sleep, tracing sloppy figures of eight onto your exposed back and breathing in the subtle scent of lavender from the soap she had washed you with.

PART TWO
MASTERLIST
Saying that you ' hate yourself ' can't even express the amount of disgust you feel towards yourself. You know that it's something you can't control, something that isn't a choice. But still feel like it's your fault that you imprinted on not one, but two vampires. You didn't even know that it was possible to imprint on something that died decades ago. The fact that they both rejected you didn't help. You knew that they wouldn't love you but you were hoping to at least be friends.
" You fucking what? " Rosalie screams at the top of her dead lungs. You flinch as she takes a step towards you, lowering your head. " They can't control it, " Carlisle tries to reason, but Rosalie and Emmett ignore him. You feel Emmet wrap his hands around you and lift you off the ground. Within a second you're outside of the house where he roughly pushes you onto the ground, right into the mud. You sit there on your hands and knees trying to regain yourself which is very fucking difficult when your covered in mud and getting soaked slowly by the rain pouring down on you. It was like the universe wanted you to suffer even more.
" Did you seriously think that we would accept you? You're a fucking dog. " Rosalie says as she and Emmet are standing on their porch. It's only now that you see the contrast between you all. They're standing dry in their expensive house while you're laying in the mud, which comforts you for some odd reason. You stand up quickly, pushes some of the rain of off your face.
" Please, you know I wouldn't have come here if I could just go without you. ". Your voice cracks at every word. You came here vulnerable and onto the land of your enemies. If Sam knows that you're here, he will rip your head off. Emmett shakes his head but doesn't say anything. He can't bring himself to do so. Sure, he wants to scream at you. To yell some words at you he knows he's going to regret but it's like his mind has shut off. Rosalie, on the other hand, can't stop the words from flowing out. " Go away, you disgusting thing. "
You let yourself slide down the side onto the floor of your shower. The water streaming down onto your already burning skin is way too hot, yet you don't care. You don't deserve nice warm showers. No, you deserve scolding hot showers that makes your skin feel like it's going to fall off. A sob breaks out of your body, causing your shoulder to rumble along with it. You tried so hard to stop yourself from crying. But now you let it all out. Every emotion, every pent up bit of anger, every sad thought. It all comes it whether you want it to or not. Whines and groans come out of your mouth along with the sobs. You know the other pack members can hear you, not just crying, but also through your mental bond. Their voices and questions of concern are being blocked out by you. The only thing you can hear if your own sobbing and a dull ringing in your ears.
You don't know how long you've sat in the shower, but you do know that you're going to have a ridiculously high water bill this month. When you get out of the shower and have gotten dressed in a simple pair of sweat pants and a sweater you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror. You stop in your track and stare at your own reflection. Your face seems foreign to you. Your normally gleeful eyes are now puffy and look so sickly that you might as well be dead. Your lips are broken from all the screaming and biting at them you've done. It looks weird to see yourself look so broken, but then again, it is said that rejection by your imprint is sometimes not even survived. " What's going on? ". You jump a little as you quickly turn around to see Paul standing behind you. He's leaning against the doorframe, glancing between you and the mirror. " Nothing, you lie. ".
" Oh, come one. We can hear your thoughts, remember? " he says as he taps his temple with his pointer finger. You nod, still looking down at the ground. When you remain quiet, Paul sighs and pulls you into a hug. You freeze at first. He never hugged you, or anyone for that matter. " Those bloodsuckers rejected you? ". You nod as you bury your face into his chest. You needed this. A hug, to help ground you and get you back to reality. " They don't deserve you, you know? ".
" I think I...I think I need to go away for a while, " you keep your voice soft while you speak to try and keep it from cracking. Paul nods before he lets his chin rest on top of your head. " How about Italy? The weather is a lot better there. I know some people there, " Paul suggests. You pull him closer to you. Italy. Nice, warm Italy. Away from Emmett and Rosalie, away from the pack. It will hurt like shit, but it's the best for you. A fresh start. A normal life. No vampires living right next door, no pack fights, no drama between Jacob, Bella and Edward. Just you and Italy. " Yeah, it sounds nice, "
---
Two months. Two months without cloudly Forks. It has done you good. Extremely good. You didn't realize how depressed that place made you until you left. The moment you felt the comforting Italian sun hit your skin was the moment you knew you made the right choice. You didn't talk to Paul's friends a lot. You got a place of your own after a couple of weeks, due to how small the town was everyone who was trying to sell their house was practically begging you to buy their house. You picked up your hobby of tinkering again, now using to be a mechanic though. The town needed one so you were happy to oblige. It was refreshing to have new faces around and a new environment. The sadness that once had its grip on your has disappeared, now only present in dark memories.
You pick up an apple that is laying on your kitchen table before making your way out of your house and towards your work. Not many costumers would come in, if at all. A festival is being celebrated in a nearby town. Naturally, almost everyone in the village has gone there to have a party. You didn't want to do that though, be around people and all. Plus this new free time would give you time to catch up with work and make some preparations for the next day. The walk to your work is short, yet you still enjoy it every day. Back in Forks, you hated the sound of the birds singing but here you enjoy it so much. The birds sing a different song here. One of joy instead of sadness.
" Buongiorno, " you say to your coworker as you walk into the store. Your Italian is far from perfect but it's getting better every day. " Come va? " your coworker, Piero, asks. " Bene. And you? ". He just nods at you with a smile before he resumes to fix what looks like a clock. You really couldn't tell though, most things that come to the store for fixing are broken beyond recognition. You sit down at your workspace and take in the mess that is laying before you. You need to clean that, definitely. You have enough time today to do so anyways
Going for a stroll through the city isn't something the twins would normally do but today was an exception. A sudden rainstorm has been hovering over the area, blocking out the sun and allowing them to go outside without fear. That and the fact that most inhabitants of San Cipriano were now in Volterra for the festival. They dressed down, replacing their usual robes with a dress in Jane's case and jeans and a sweater for Alec. They talked about normal things like the new store that just opened up down the block and books they've read. It feels nice to them to feel so normal. Anyone who saw them would think that they are just a brother and sister enjoying the cool afternoon weather and not two vampires who work for the three kings.
" They have this machine that can induce dreams, " Alec says as he tries to explain the plot of ' Inception ' to Jane. She nods as she only half listens to his story, more focussed on watching a group of children play hide and seek on the other side of the road. The two siblings are sitting on a bench right next to the cemetery, ironically enough. " Sounds fascinating, " Janes says.
Alec nods before resuming his explanation. Jane enjoys seeing her brother so happy. They were both way too serious for their age, not having enjoyed their childhood years as they should have. Seeing him so passionate and happy about something surely put a smile on her face. Alec stops his words however when a sudden gust of winds blows a particularly sweet smell towards them. Both siblings look at each other as they inhale the scent. " Apple, " Jane says
" And rust. Delicious, " Alec adds. Jane slowly points towards the direction of your store. Alec nods and stands up from the bench, getting what his sister means. Both twins slowly stroll to your shop, they want to see who this scent is coming from but at the same time are to content to feel any sort of rush.
The sound of a bell ringing notifies you that someone entered the shop. " Un momento! " you call out from the back of the shop. You quickly wipe the oil that has been building up of your hands with a cloth before making your way to the front of the store to help the new costumers out. The moment you lay your eyes on the twins is when the world stops. You'd be lying to say that they aren't beautiful. Every birthmark on their skins seems so perfect that it has had to be placed there by the angels themselves. A sudden rush of adrenaline fills your body. Every detail about them become highlighted. You know this feeling, you know what this means. You didn't think you could imprint again but here you are, imprinting on the twins. Apparently, your wolf seems to have a preference for imprinting on duos. " I...I...Can I.... ". Your mind can't seem to form words at the moment. It's too busy with taking the twins in, to memorise every single thing about them.
The moment your mind starts to get clearer, you can start to smell them. The dry, campfire-like smell that comes of them suddenly starts to make sense. Vampire. Of course, you had to imprint on vampires again. Jane and Alec also caught the hint of dog and forest in your scent, both realizing that they're in deep shit now. They know you're their mate, they didn't need to notify the other on it. The way they both feel this need to protect you and the way your scent has intoxicated them both said enough. " You're our mate, " Jane says softly. Her usually cold and stern voice now sounds honey sweet.
The realisation of the whole situation only seems to be catching up to you now. The whole two months you spent here, trying to rebuild your life and your mental health seems to be for nothing now. They will reject you. Those words seem to float around your head. You shake your head softly, feeling tears pricking up into your eyes. You take a couple of steps back and away from them. " I-I'm sorry. I can't. Not now, " you say before disappearing into the back of the shop and leaving the confused twins behind in the shop.
You can feel your wolf aching under your skin, begging to be let out. You rush out of the store through the backdoor. You chose your place of work strategically, right next to the forest, which you are very thankful for right now. You let your walls down and let the wolf in you come forth. The ache under your skin stops as your shift begins. Within seconds you're in your wolf form. Tall and frightening for most you stand there for a second, looking back at the store before making a run for it and into the forest. You sit there in your own mind, drowning in your own thoughts as the wolf takes control of your body. Normally, you would try to at least have a sliver of self-control, not now, however. Now you want nothing more than to get lost into the woods.
It doesn't feel like your in your own body, it feels like your floating above it. Memories is all your seeing. Rosalie and Emmett screaming at you. The disgusted looks in their eyes and the harsh words them threw at you without a second thought. They'll do the same. You're sure of it. How could a vampire ever love you? How could someone ever love you?
---
Wet grass brushes against your cheek. The prominent smell of dirt and daisies fills your nose. Slowly, you open your eyes. You're laying on your back, which you only realize now. You stare up at the dark sky above you. The sun is long gone. Now it's replaced by the moon and a thousand stars. It must be later than three a.m. Maybe even later. You should probably move and get inside before you catch a cold but you can't bring yourself to do so. You're to mentally and physically drained from your shift earlier this evening. After regaining yourself, you finally find the strength to get up from the grass. Every bone in your body aches as you stand up for the first time in hours. You stretch a little, getting used to your human form again. Slowly but surely you walk to your front door. The warmth that meets you the moment you open your door falls over you like a blanket. Sudden tiredness washes over you. You let out a jawn as you walk over to your living room, reading to crash on your couch.
Instead of an empty couch, you find two vampires sitting on it, the same there were in the shop earlier. " What are you doing on my house? " you ask. Your body fills with adrenaline again. A warm fuzz fills your brain now that you're around your imprints. " I'm Jane, ". You nod at her statement.
" Cool, and I'm very fucking confused about why you're in my house. ". Both twins laugh a little at your joke. " You got humour in you, alright. " Alec says. You nod, slowly walking a little more towards them. You hate that you're so drawn to them. They like us. You stop in your steps. Why could you hear Jane's thoughts? Is this another part of this weird vampire-imprint thing?
" I'm sure that you have some question, " Alec begins. You cut him off before he can finish his sentence thought. " Yeah like why two members of the Volturi are in my house. ". Both look at you with big eyes, confused as to how you know them. You throw your arms up in the air. " Oh come one, I lived in the same town as the Cullens! You guys came over like every other weekend for Bella and Edward! ".
You sit down on your couch. Letting your elbows rest on your knees so your hands can hold your head up. You let out a deep sigh. Why did this kind of shit always happen to you? " Look, I know you won't want me and that's fine. Just break the news to me, we don't have to tiptoe around it, " you say, just trying to get them to get to the point. Alec's hand is suddenly underneath your chin. He angles your head in a way so that you're looking up at him. " You think we don't want you? ". You nod.
" No, don't ever think that, " Jane says as she sits down beside you. " It's maybe a bit...unusual to have a wolf as a mate but we definitely want you. If you want us. ". You can't help the small smile from spreading onto your face. They want you. They didn't reject you or call you a dog. " Of course I want you, have you seen yourself? You're both hot. ". The twins send each other a smile. Jane gets up from the couch and stands in front of you next to Alec. She holds her hand out for you to grab. " Come home with us. ". You nod at her before grabbing her hand. Finally, you can go to a home where you're loved.
---
The ringing of the phone seems to go on so long that you're afraid you're calling won't be picked up. You wanted to call home, to tell them how well you're doing. You just hope that someone will pick up. Finally, the call gets picked up. " Hello? " Seth says on the other side of the line. " Seth! " you call out happily. The annoyance in his voice is gone in an instant and replaced by happiness. " Y/n! You called! How are you? ".
" Better than ever, " you say happily, glancing over at Jane and Alec who is standing on the other side of the room talking to Demitri and Felix. You know that they are probably listing along to your call but you don't care. " I'm really good. I um...I imprinted again. ". You wait anxiously for Seth's response. " Really? That's great! Who is it? ".
You and Seth continue to talk for another thirty minutes. Back home things are going great for him and the pack as well. Apparently, Emmett and Rosalie are really sorry but you couldn't care less about them. Not now that you have Jane and Alec. " It was nice to talk to you again. Give my greetings to the rest, yeah? Bye-bye. ". You hang up the call. Within a second, Jane and Alec are standing next to you, both giving you a questioning look.
" He's happy for me. Really happy, " you say with a bright smile on your face. Alec grabs your hand and gives you a kiss on top of your knuckles. " See, I know he would be. ". You nod at his comment. You stand there for a moment before pulling both the twins in for a hug. They wrap their arms around you. Sure, it's a little awkward to hug with three people, but it's comforting at the same time. You take in their scent. At first, you hated the smell of vampire but now it smells like home. You feel happy, truly and utterly happy. Maybe someone could love you after all.

pairing: loki x reader
request: Hi! May I request a Loki x Female!reader? One where Lokis nightmares are getting so bad that he has lost sleep and is terrified to sleep because he actually thinks that when he wakes up, the mortal woman (reader) hes fallen in love with will actually be dead and she is heartbroken by how much pain he is in so she comforts him? If you're ok with it, bonus points if she is pregnant with his baby and he dreams of Thanos killing her or she dies from complications
warnings: violence, nightmares, kinda angst, etc.
thank you so much for the request love!!!! i got so caught up while writing, that i realized i forgot to include the whole pregnancy thing. so sorry about that! i hope you enjoy it nonetheless :)
Tumblr media
The night you realized Loki wasn’t sleeping was a few weeks after an Avengers mission almost went wrong. There’d been a slip up with keeping an eye on security. Backup was sent in to where you were hacking their security systems, flying past Tony’s radar, which almost lead to you being killed. Loki and Steve were nearby and managed to help you escape, thankfully. It was a close one, but you managed to get out unscathed, while also bringing down a few assholes.
It was kind of a near-death experience, but you managed to get over it after a few days. The mission was over, you and your team were fine, period. No need to fret.
Loki, on the other hand, was doing more than just fretting. After hearing your ragged breathing through his earpiece two-weeks beforehand, begging for help as you were held at gunpoint...Loki couldn’t get it out of his head, no matter how hard he tried. He’d seen slip ups during missions countless of times before, but this one just struck him the hardest. Seeing his mortal love barely make out made something shift inside of him. After that day, he found himself watching you practically everywhere you went. He kept an eye on you during training. Held you more tightly in bed at night. Held your hand during dinners. Kissed you harder.
Then the mere thought of losing you began manifesting itself into his dreams — well, nightmares.
Only it wasn’t just a playback of what’d almost happened during the mission. It was the same mission, same situation, except usually with gruesome endings. Instead of you making it out alive, Loki heard a gunshot go off, cutting you off mid-cry while he was stuck in the other room with Steve. Sometimes, the nightmare would end with him almost, almost getting to you on time, before watching your throat get slit last minute.
The nightmares progressively grew worse as the nights went on. They became more disgustingly gruesome. Your screams were amplified, cries shriller. And the worst part: he never got to you on time.
And after every single nightmare the first couple weeks, Loki woke up with a quiet gasp. He’d touch his forehead and feel it damp with sweat. His hand would shoot out gently towards you, just to make sure you were alive and okay. He’d never wake you, and thankfully you were a heavy sleeper, but he’d always watch you for a few seconds in the dark just to confirm that you were intact.
Loki felt punished by his nightmares. No matter how hard he tried, he never managed to wake up before you died somehow. Almost as if his own mind was forcing him to watch you suffer. It was pure, pure torture to him.
Loki used to relish in the idea of sleeping. Especially if he knew you’d be in his arms, wrapped deeply into him. But the nightmares took that from him. Loki began putting sleep off as a whole.
He tried staying up as late as possible and falling asleep only when his body was absolutely begging to. But even with just an hour or so of sleep, the nightmares still managed to show up.
He occupied himself with books, tea, whatever he could possibly do without waking you at ungodly hours. Because that was the thing about Loki — when it came to his own suffering, he kept to himself. Besides, he couldn’t bear the mere idea of telling you what he saw you go through in his nightmares.
His illusions made it easier to conceal his suffering from you. His dark under eyes and sickly pale skin were illusioned to keep his God-like features constant. And with you being so busy with minor missions and reports, you didn’t notice.
That is, until his exhaustion got the best of him, and he somehow forgot to put up his usual illusion before bed one night. The only light in the room were the lamps next to your bed, making you two glow slightly.
When you happily returned from the bathroom with your skin care done and pjs on, you audibly gasped upon seeing Loki.
“Oh my god,” You whispered. Loki looked up alerted, and immediately made his way over to you. He saw you cower just a bit, which made his face fall. Only a few seconds passed before he realized the mistake he’d made. He found himself not able to look at you in the eyes.
“Loki...” You whispered, reaching out to him, but he shamefully looked away. No point in putting the illusion up at this point.
You couldn’t believe the state he was in. The bags under his eyes were the deepest shade of purple you’d ever seen before. His glowing, pale skin had now looked gray, sunken, and lifeless. And worst of all, the mischief in his eyes seemed to be gone. It made your chest twist painfully. You couldn’t handle seeing him in such a state.
He tried his best to ignore you, and climbed into the bed, turning the lamp off. But you refused, and followed him into the bed. You reached over him, flicking the light back on. Loki attempted to turn it off, but you pushed his hand away.
You tenderly held him by the jaw, forcing him to look over at you carefully.
“Loki,” You whispered, “W-What happened?”
He shook his head, “It’s silly. Don’t worry about me, my love. Get some sleep.” He tried his best to keep his brave face, but the tears threatening spill from his eyes told you different.
Now it was your turn to shake your head, “No. Not fair. Loki, I do get to worry about you! I’m your girlfriend, and I deserve to know what you’re going through. E-Especially when it has you like this — in such a-a horrid state. What happened, Loki? Please. I-I’m scared.” A quiet, small sob escaped from your mouth. And Loki definitely noticed.
Loki’s eyes became desperate as a tear rolled down his cheek. His hands came up to his face and settled on top of yours that were still caressing him. He took a few seconds to find the right words.
“I can’t sleep, my love. I haven’t been able to.”
Your eyebrows furrowed, “Nightmares?” Loki’s eyes shut in desperation, not wanting to relive the image of your terrible dead.
“Y-Yes. The same one. Over and over again,” His voice had a bit of anger laced inside it.
“How long as this been going on?” You squeezed his hands gently, a reminder that you’d always be there.
Loki sniffer, “Ever since the mission a few weeks ago in Mexico. Where you...almost died.”
Immediately your heart sank. You saw the pain flicker in Loki’s eyes when he mentioned the almost-incident. And you suddenly felt guilty. You almost died, and you moved past it like nothing happened. Didn’t even check up on Loki.
“Oh, Loki. I’m so sorry. I-I’m so sorry. I should’ve checked in on your afterwards-“
Loki furrowed his eyebrows, his eyes widening in bewilderment. “My love, this is not your fault.”
“I should’ve made sure you were okay,” You whispered. Loki only spilled a couple more tears as he shook his head in comfort and rubbed your cheeks tenderly.
“You must be exhausted,” You said sadly, running a finger over the bags under his eyes. Loki exhaled, wanting to look away from your alluring gaze.
“I don’t think I’ve slept more than two hours a night for the past three weeks.”
You abruptly sat up all the way, “What?!” Your soft tone was now gone.
Loki’s head stayed against the headboard as he watched you carefully, “I-I’m terrified of them. The nightmares. Better to busy myself awake then let myself succumb to the terrors.”
Your shoulders fell in defeat, and you crawled back to Loki’s side.
“My God...” You breathed out, “Are they about what happened in Mexico?”
He meekly nodded, “Except they all end terribly.”
“W-With me...dying?”
At that last word, Loki couldn’t take it anymore. He rushed to sit up on his side of the bed, and held his head in his hands. He was now full on sobbing.
In the time of you and Loki’s relationship, you’d seen him cry a few times, obviously. But full on sobbing...that was different. And you hated it. You hated it because it broke your heart into a million pieces to see him in such a state. It pained you deeply knowing he didn’t dare to look at you in the eyes when he cried. You were still trying to teach him that vulnerability was okay.
Sniffing, you calmly made your way next to him, and didn’t hesitate to start rubbing your hand up and down his back. You didn’t say anything, not wanting him to feel anymore under pressure. Loki sobbing in front of you was already embarrassing enough for him.
You leaned into him, “Loki, I’m right here, okay?” He didn’t answer.
So you continued, “Baby, I’m right here. I’m alive, and doing just fine. Here with you. Okay? I love you. And I’m never gonna leave you. You hear me? Never.” You kissed his exposed neck softly.
“Y-You can’t promise that,” He breathed out.
“What?”
Loki finally mustered up the courage you look at you. He fiercely held your face in his hands. You didn’t dare move.
“In Mexico, I almost lost you.”
You smiled softly, “But you saved me. And I’m here now.”
He smiled too, but it was a small, sad one, “But what’s to say another mission like Mexico will never happen again? We don’t know that. And nothing, NOTHING makes me tremble in fear more than the mere thought of not being able to protect you. After every nightmare, I wake up with my heart practically in my throat as I check to make sure your body next to me is alive and breathing.”
You sighed, bringing his hands off your face, and into your own hands on your lap. You leaned forwards, placing a chaste kiss on Loki’s lips before speaking.
“Loki, whether you have noticed or not, that is my biggest fear as well. You are the love of my life. I love you so much, Loki. And knowing that there might be a moment where I can’t save you scares the living shit out of me. Trust me, it haunts me when I think to much into it. But that’s the problem, isn’t it? Thinking too much about it. I don’t want to scare you anymore, but technically, either one of us could die at any moment. But what good will it do to us if we’re constantly grabbing at that horrible thought? What good does it do to live in fear every second of every day?”
Loki was at a loss for words. He played with your intertwined hands in your lap with his eyebrows furrowed and mouth shut.
You released one of your hands, and brought it up gently to smooth out some hair that’d been blocking his face partly. Almost as if instinct, Loki’s body leaned into your touch. Loki inhaled sharply, and shut his eyes for a few seconds.
“You’re right,” He breathed, “But those nightmares — they’re what really terrify me. How can I not think about you dying, my love, when those horrid images of you drenched in blood terrorize my mind every night?”
You winced, continuing to run your hand through his raven hair, “I know they must be terrible. And-And I’m sorry. I hate you see you in such pain. But maybe opening up to me like you just did will help. You won’t go to bed with such a weight on your chest anymore.”
His eyes told you that he gained at least some hope.
You continued, “Second, as much as I know you don’t want to...wake me up if you have a nightmare.”
“No-“
“Shh!” You played a finger on his lips, “I don’t care if you don’t want to. Just wake me up. Knowing that I’m aware, and there for you could help you ease back into sleep. At least, that’s what my mom used to do for me when I was little...okay?”
He sighed, “Fine.”
“You need your sleep, Loki. Seeing you like this genuinely scared me. I need you to stay healthy and intact too, you know?” You watched him carefully.
His eyes flickered to yours, and he practically sighed in defeat. He hated seeing you so conflicted and hurt.
“I’ll try my best. Like I always do for you, my love.”
You smiled, a full smile, and pulled him into a kiss. His hands quickly made their way to the sides of your face, slowly deepening the kiss that practically made you melt for him.
Both of you broke away after plenty of seconds, but simply touched foreheads and remained there with your eyes closed.
“I’m here, okay Loki? And I love you.”
“And I, you. More than anything.” Another heavy kiss.
You pulled back, “Time for bed?”
Hesitating, he nodded slowly. You continued to hold his hands as the two of you lied down against your soft pillows.
Rolling to your side, you watched Loki with puppy eyes, “Would it help if we slept in each other’s arms tonight?” You and Loki always fell asleep touching each other in some shape or form. Holding hands. A hand on someone’s waist, and so on. But never full cuddling the entire night.
Loki nodded, looking at you as if you had stars in your eyes. He immediately opened his arms to you, and you happily obliged. Snuggled up into his chest, Loki suddenly felt much more comfortable.
You yawned before giving him a sloppy, yet warm kiss on his neck.
“I’m here. Always.”
And that night, Loki’s nightmares returned, but you were there this time to make sure Loki knew he’d always have you by his side.
Always.
