A Princess. A Queen. A Wife. A Mother. Part 30/?
Tumblr media
<Part 29<
"I need you to wake-up, My love." Steve whispered, looking down at where you rested your head against his chest, smiling lovingly at you.
The journey to Brook was long, tiring and uncomfortable. Even with a stop off for lunch and to stretch your legs, you still found yourself being lulled to sleep after a few hours as you cuddled up against Steve's warmth. Well, that and because Steve couldn't keep his hands to himself. Not that you were complaining.
You mumbled something incoherent as you snuggled closer to Steve making him chuckle and kissed the top of your head.
"I guess, you don't want my surprise then." He whispered.
You raised your head with a hum, "What surprise?" You asked groggily.
Steve smiled to himself, "Knew that would work." He sat up, untangling himself from you. "C'mon sleepy head. You can go back to sleep soon."
Your brow furrowed as you watched him open the carriage door and get out. "Are we back already?" You asked.
Steve shook his head. "Not quite." He held his hand out and helped you out of the carriage. "This is your surprise." He smiled.
You stood in silence as you looked at the cute (not so) little cottage in front of you that was tucked away behind a wall of trees and rose bushes. It was lit up with an orange glow and smoke pouring out of the chimney, looking warm and cosy.
Tumblr media
Steve smiled to himself as he gave you a gentle nudge, encouraging you forward. "I thought this would be a good place for the two of us to hide away for a week or so. Enjoy married life without any worries. Just us." He whispered.
You stepped into the cottage with a grin, "Where are we?"
"Not far from the castle. My hunting cabin isn't far from here."
"It's beautiful... Who does it belong to?" You looked around the place, taking it all in.
Steve smiled as he stepped closer to you, placing his hands on your hips. "You."
You spun around to face Steve with a gasp, "Me?"
Steve nodded. "My father wanted mother to have a quiet place to retreat to if the castle got too much whilst she was carrying me, so he had this place built. Once I was born, it became a place the three of us would use to hide away from the castle..."
Your brow furrowed, "It's not mine then if your father had it built for your mother."
Steve sighed softly, "Sweetheart, it was my mother who gifted it to you... To us. She knows how difficult it can be for a young Princess... She wanted you to have a place that you feel safe in, like she did." He smiled lovingly st ypu as he took yoyr hands in his. "Wha'cha say, happy to spend some time alone with me here, wife?"
You bit you bottom lip and nodded with a giggle, "I certainly am, husband." You wrapped your arms around Steve's neck and kissed him.
------------------------------------------------------------
The sound of birds tweeting and the sun leaking through the drapes slowly aroused you from your sleep just enough for you to sense something was happening around you that could only be described as chaos. You could hear voices, shouting and cursing over the top of one another, heavy footsteps stomping back and forth. You let out a tired groan and rolled over in the large empty bed, frowning as you blindly searched for Steve. You opened your eyes and looked around the room, empty. You sat up and rubbed the sleep from your eyes before climbing out of bed and making your way out of the room, in search of your husband.
The cottage wasn't too big that you'd end up lost like you did on your very first visit to the castle, but there were still plenty of rooms to explore.
You fell in love with the cottage the moment your eyes landed on it. It was much bigger than you first thought, but it still managed to have a cosy feel to it.
The room you and Steve were occupying was larger than the others that filled the cottage. It had a four poster bed at the farthest side of the room, a dressing table and chair against the wall opposite the door, a fireplace opposite the bed, as well as having a small closet attached. There was a smaller room opposite that had been used as Steve's when he was much younger and had been turned back into a nursery for when the time arrived for yours and Steve's children to use. A small water closet sat at the end of the hallway on the left that held a large bathtub (big enough for two) and next door to your room was what had been a study that Steve's father used before Steve had it changed into a miniature library for the two of you to use. That, too, had a fireplace that the two of you could sit in front of. At the other end of the hallway was a door that led into the front of the cottage. The door opened up into the sitting room, a large space that had a couple of armchairs in front of another fireplace as well as a dining table by the window that looked out onto the small garden that was filled with rose bushes and trees. To the right of the sitting room was a joining kitchen, and that was where you found your husband and the chaos.
You watched as Steve, Sam and Bucky coughed, trying to wave smoke away from them as they each yelled over one another.
"What on earth is going on?" You asked with a cough, quickly covering your mouth.
The three of them turned towards you like startled deer, panic in their eyes.
When no one answered, you huffed and folded your arms across your chest. "Well?"
"His fault!" Sam and Bucky said in unison as they pointed at Steve.
Steve glared at them, "Is not."
You rolled your eyes as the three of them began to talk over each other once more. "Enough!" You huffed and made your way over to the large wooden door at the front of the cottage that lead out into the garden, "You're like children... Worse than Morgana." You mumbled.
"What are you doing, My love?" Steve asked as he watched you open the door.
"Letting the smoke out so we don't choke to death." You turned back to the three of them. "Perhaps one of you could open the windows?"
Sam and Bucky quickly and began moving around the cottage. Steve stayed in the same spot with his head lowered, chewing on his bottom lip looking a lot like a child that's about to be scolded.
You smiled to yourself as you walked towards him, reminding yourself to tease him later on about it. "What happened?"
Steve opened his mouth to speak but before he could, Bucky and Sam bet him to it.
"His Majesty, was attempting to cook."
"And like it usually does, it ended in disaster." Bucky shook his head with a huff, "I told him to stay out of the kitchen."
Sam nodded, "But His Majesty knows best." Sam rolled his eyes.
You let out a small giggle as Steve continued to glare at them.
It was true, Steve wasn't the best cook. Any time he attempted cooking, something disastrous happened.
"Boys," You stood in front of Steve and placed a comforting hand on his chest as you faced Bucky and Sam. "Could the two of you fetch some more firewood, please?" You smiled sweetly.
The pair nodded before bowing to you and making their exit.
You cleared your throat before you turned back to face Steve. "So... What happened?"
Steve sighed as he gently placed his hands on your waist and tugged you against his chest. "I wanted to bring you breakfast." He frowned. "I don't know what happened. One minute I had everything set, and the next the pan of water boiled over and-"
"Put the fire out?" You asked already knowing the answer. Steve nodded with a pout. You bit your bottom lip to stop yourself cooing at him. How can a man be so soft and adorable, yet feared by so many? You gently cupped his cheeks with your hands and pressed your lips against his softly, letting out a moan as Steve gave your waist a squeeze. "Don't worry about it. It's an easy fix." You smiled at him before slipping out of his arms. "Let's get this cleaned up then we'll cook breakfast together."
Steve raised his eyebrow at you as you began moving things around. "Do you know how to cook?" Steve asked.
You giggled as you looked back at him over your shoulder. "Yes, Steve."
"You do?"
"Don't sound so surprised." You smirked.
"Sorry." Steve blushed as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I just, don't understand how you know?"
"Well, I learnt, Steven." You teased making him roll his eyes.
"I get that smart-ass." He chuckled, coming up beside you. "When?"
"What did you think I did when I wasn't attending sowing circles?"
Steve smiled, "Who taught you?"
"The Castle's cooks." You smiled with a shrug. "Even Dum-Dum taught me how to cook his famous battle stew last year."
Steve's brows raised in surprise just as Sam and Bucky returned. "Dum-Dum gave you his secret recipe?"
"Her Highness cooks it even better than Dum-Dum." Bucky winked at you with a grin making you blush.
Sam nodded and rubbed his belly. "Oh man, what I'd give to have some of that stew."
Steve frowned as he looked at them then at you. "Why have I never tried it?" He pouted.
You turned away from him to hide your smirk before clearing your throat, "You're always busy with meetings when I cook it." You let out a soft sigh.
Steve frowned to himself as he thought back to your visits. He usually did have a few meetings that lasted hours and hours, plenty of time for you to cook Dum-Dum's stew and share it with his men. He can't remember how many times he's found you training with them, even in rain, as you tried to pass the time.
"No matter," You smiled at him. "I'll make it tonight for us all."
Steve chuckled, "Let's focus on breakfast first, love." He kissed your cheek. "Now, tell me what to do."
"Nothing!" Bucky and Sam groaned in unison making Steve glare at them.
You began to laugh, quickly disguising it as a cough and looking away as Steve turned his glare to you. He smiled to himself as he watched you busy yourself before he sent Sam and Bucky another glare.
"Piss off," He mouthed to them, waving his hand around.
Bucky smirked, shaking his head at him as he walked up to you, "What can I do to help, Your Highness?" He asked, sending Steve a wink once you began telling him what to do.
------------------------------------------------------------
You giggled as Steve kissed your bare shoulder, working his way up your neck until you were a giggling mess. "Stop it," You tapped his bicep, pushing slightly to get him off you.
Steve pulled back with a grin. "You're just too sweet," He teased before pressing his lips to yours. He rolled over on to his back, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and pulled you against his chest. Steve panted softly against the top of your head before kissing it. "You know... They won't be here all the time... I promise."
You smiled to yourself, snuggling further into his chest, wrapping your arms tighter around his body as you hiked your leg up over his. "Stop... I had fun today. Besides, I don't mind Bucky and Sam being around."
Steve sighed, "I know you don't... But I wanted it just to be us. I wanted us to have some time together... To get to know each other."
You carefully pushed yourself up so you were looking down at Steve, not care in the world as you let your naked body show as you looked down at your husband lovingly. "We already know each other, darling."
Steve shook his head, "But we're married now..." He smiled as he reached up brushed your hair back as he cupped your cheek. "Things are different."
"How? We're still the same people, Steve."
Steve smiled, "But now I can do this," He gently pulled your face down to his and pressed his lips against yours, easily slipping his tongue past your lips and deepening kiss momentarily before pulling back, "As much as I want." He grinned at you. "As well as other things," He teased.
You lowered your head, trying to hide your face as you blushed. "When you put it like that." You smiled to yourself. "Maybe Bucky and Sam shouldn't be around so much."

Kidnapped Princess
Summary: you’re taking a flight with a king who’s obsessed with you.
Pairing: King!Steve Rogers x Pop Princess!Reader
Tumblr media
“You’ve kidnapped me,” you said.
He hummed for a thought and then said, “no, you went willingly.”
You huffed looking at this man. His eyes are lil puffy from a good night’s rest. His beard is well kept and his hair just looks so soft. He’s got you in his lap with a blanket. It’s not the safest place but he wanted to sit by the window and so did you. He also wanted you right next to him. He settled for you sitting in his lap like a child.
“You’re a big pain in my ass,” you said straight to his face.
A small gasp escaped from one of his aids— how dare you say that to the king? Meanwhile, the king’s head guard chuckled from his seat behind the king.
“As long as I’m the only one,” Steve said cupping your cheek.
“I have many problems,” you admitted. “You’re the biggest fucking one I got.”
“You’re my biggest one and I run a country,” he said.
You snorted throwing your head back.
“I think I know how we can solve this problem between us,” the king said.
“How?” you questioned.
“Marry me,” he said.
His left hand left your waist and dug into his jacket’s hidden breast pocket. You narrowed your eyes. He pulled out this sparkly princess cut diamond ring.
“Hold out your hand,” Steve said.
Your left hand went up. He slipped the ring on and you bit your bottom lip. It fits perfectly. You looked at him and he’s looking at the ring he placed on your finger. He’s admiring it.
“You didn’t even ask,” you said softly.
“Will you marry me?” the king asked.
“Well, you already put it on,” you said.
“So, it’s a yes?” he asked.
You nodded and grumbled. He smiled and your face towards his. He kissed your lips sweetly.
“You’re stuck with me,” Steve said.
“This is a big problem,” you whispered.
“How so?” he asked.
“You’re a king. I’m a pop princess,” you said. “You’re old. I’m young.”
He frowned and said, “I’m young too.”
“You’re nearly forty, Your Majesty,” James said flipping the page of his magazine.
The king immediately glared at the man behind him. You giggled. Of course, you find this amusing much to his dismay.
“I am not. I’m 36 years young,” Steve argued.
“You’re cute, old man,” you said running your fingers through his hair.
He narrowed his eyes at you and said, “I think I’ll leave you at the next stop.”
“Nope, you can’t do that. You can’t leave your kidnapee just anywhere,” you sassed.
“I’ll lock you in a tower then,” he said.
“Just like Tangled,” James said.
“Tangled?” Steve said confused.
“It’s a Disney movie. I’ll show you it, bubs,” you said.
“And then I’ll lock you in a tower,” he informed.
“Okay. But I get to pick the tower,” you said. “And get to decorate it.”
“Fine,” he said. “You got a deal. Now, sleep.”
“You’re so demanding,” you said.

~*~
“We have discovered my wife’s body, slain, in the woods,” he begins, his eyes cast down on the ground so that his councilmen don’t realize how truly feral he is.
They all bristle slightly at the mention of the Queen’s passing, but none of them even breathe a word for fear of angering the King.
“We know not who has caused this, nor why, but I have men scouring the woods for any trace of the traitors.” It takes a ridiculous amount of self-control to keep his eyes focused on the floor and not let them rise to look at his men.
“I shall travel with my men to Lothiella to honour the Queen, and to allow her parents to say their final goodbyes before we lay her to rest.”
He pauses, allowing his words to take root in their minds while also calming himself down.
You're not dead. You’re very much alive and, soon enough, you’ll be in his arms once more.
“I leave at dusk, and my kingdom will rest in your capable hands while I am away. I trust you to make wise decisions in my absence.”
In truth, he isn’t leaving the Kingdom in their hands. The Kingdom rests on the shoulders of Steve, who is remaining at the Palace to prevent an attack, along with a third of his army, and half the army of Lothiella.
Walking into battle with half the number he trained with isn’t something James is used to, but if that is what it takes to free you, he’s willing to do it.
The remainder of the day is spent preparing his men and himself for the battle that is to come.
A third of his army is spread throughout the village and the Palace, prepared to defend it to their last dying breath, while the rest are mounting their horses.
“You will lead us,” James says to Elden, nodding his respect toward the younger man.
Your brother bows his head in his own show of respect, then leads his mare down the gravel path toward the forest to the west.
They ride in silence for a long while, but as they approach, Elden speaks.
“I can access her through a small window on the north side of the fortress. If you hold the focus of the fight, I will be able to slip in and back out unnoticed.”
James nods his agreement, slowing his horse as a break in the forest comes into sight.
“You find her and you bring her to safety. If I am to fall in battle, we must ensure she survives. For the fate of the entire Kingdom.”
Elden nods sternly, “I will not fail.”
The two royals dismount their horses and walk to the edge of the woods, peering out beyond the trees and down the hill where the fortress lies.
There, as spoken, are the men. Not more than five hundred in number, which is double the amount currently with James.
“They prepare to march,” the King whispers, watching intently as men bustle about, trying to prepare themselves for the coming war.
“They won’t move until they have darkness again. Do you plan to attack in broad daylight?” Elden inquires.
“As soon as the men have rested and regained their strength, I will lead half of them down the hill. The fight will focus on us, so the rest will go around either side and attack when the time is right. We will have them surrounded, and you will be able to go in and out with ease.”
A new set of feet approach the men and they both look to the sound, watching as Natalia peers beyond the trees.
“Is that... Sharon?” She questions softly, her eyes on the blonde beta who is almost like a sister.
“Yes,” James nearly growls.
With a deep breath, he turns away from the fortress to address his men.
“I need archers in the trees, and people on watch. We rest, we eat, and then we fight.”
~*~
“Sir, I have news from Veronia!” A young man exclaims, riding in swiftly on horseback.
The man looks up at the rider, grateful to finally have a distraction from Lady Sharon and all her complaints.
“Yes, what is it?”
He dismounts his horse and approaches the pair.
“The King rides with his guard to Lothiella, the dead Queen in tow.”
Confusion colours all their faces as they exchange glances.
“The Queen remains here, imprisoned, as she should,” Sharon says, confused.
“Aye, I know. So who, then, is he bringing to Lothiella?” The rider asks.
“No one,” The man murmurs, his eyes flickering across the forest and then across his men.
“Someone within these walls is a terrible traitor,” his eyes slowly rise to the rider before him and he unsheathes his sword, following the young man as he takes slow steps back.
“I-I wouldn’t, sir! You know that!”
The older man grabs his collar and yanks him closer.
“Then you will have no issue finding who the traitor is and delivering me their head, will you?”
“N-no m’lord.”
He releases the boy and pushes him back a step, “good. That’s what I thought.”
He turns and storms off, Lady Sharon hot on his heels.
“Something is amiss,” he whispers, mostly to himself, but the broad hears.
“What? What could possibly be amiss? Even if the King is marching this way, we have more men than he could possibly have. We have more resources, and, above all else, we have you.” Her hands curve over his shoulders, caressing him gently, sensually, but he wants none of it.
What he wants is his revenge, served on a silver platter.
“Ready yourself for battle. We cannot wait until the full moon. We must march sooner.”
If it’s true, and the King has made for Lothiella, then that leaves his Kingdom unprotected. And what better time to take it than now? Perhaps he’ll even have an opportunity to enjoy the Queen before King James returns.
“Why march? Why not allow him to bring the fight to us? We have the stronghold, we know the land. He does not.”
“He is a King who knows every inch of his Kingdom. And, if he is to march, he will have the upper hand on the hill. We will be no match for it, regardless of our numbers. Now go. Leave me.”
With a scowl on her face, she does as commanded, leaving to prepare herself for battle.
He stands alone for a long while, a thousand thoughts playing out in his mind and oh, how he wishes she were here.
But if she were, none of this would be happening.
And that is why the King must die.
Why things must change.
Why an empire must fall.
~*~
“You have all followed me here today because you trust me... you believe in me... you believe me to be the King I am. A man who will lead you to victory and to greatness,” James begins, looking out across the sea of men before him.
“This is not a training exercise, nor is it a game. This is a war. One that will be won, not by words, nor by brute strength. It will be won by men! Fighting men who believe in the power and will of the Gods! Men who know better than to turn on their King! It will be won by you lot here! Men with wives, with children! Men who deserve this victory!”
The air is energized quickly as the men get more mentally prepared, inspired by the King’s words.
“I would give my life, protecting my Kingdom. And each of you has shown that you would do the same. And you will be heavily rewarded when we return home! Mount the heads of your enemies on your walls! Feast on the blood spilled from their bodies! Show them no mercy!” He shouts, unsheathing his sword and raising it up to the heavens.
“No mercy!” Swords all raise toward the sky, and James feels hope bloom in his chest as he turns to Elden.
“Start your way down now, but do not enter until you hear the battle start.”
The Prince nods his understanding, his mind focused solely on saving you, no matter the cost.
He could lose his own life and he would not care. As long as you’re safe, that’s all that matters to him.
With a last bow of respect, he slips away from the army and makes his way to the fortress, thanking his lucky stars when he gets to the side of the building without being spotted.
He presses himself against the cold stone exterior, his breath shallow as he waits for the sound of battle.
“Look there! An army!”
He hears the shout from a distance, and then comes the sound of men clamouring to prepare for battle.
“All men out front! Shields up!”
He recognizes that voice as one of the men from the King’s council, and knows then and there that now is his chance.
It’s now or never.
He drops to the ground and pries the bars of the window apart, then slides into the dungeon with grace, dropping to the floor with a soft thud.
“(Y/n)?!” He looks to the cell he remembers you being in, his heart dropping into his stomach when he sees you chained to the ceiling, your face lifeless and cold.
He rushes to you, grabbing a knife from his belt and slicing through the cloth around your wrists.
You tumble into him and he carefully lowers you to the ground, two fingers finding your neck, searching for a pulse.
“(Y/n), please. Please wake up,” he begs, tears threatening to stab at his eyes.
Your brows draw together right as he feels the steady thumping beneath his fingers.
Slowly, your eyes open, foggy at first, but after a few blinks everything clears up.
“Elden?” You ask in a whisper, confused at his presence.
“Yes. I’m here. I’m getting you out of here and returning you to Veronia.”
You push yourself to your knees then attack him in a tight hug, tears quickly flooding your eyes.
“You came back!” You cry, not even bothering to try and hide your true feelings.
He hugs you back tightly, nodding.
“Of course I did. Now come, we must leave, quickly.”
You nod and allow him to help you to your feet, stumbling slightly with every step you take.
Perhaps you should’ve eaten more of the gruel they offered. At least then you’d be able to defend yourself. But instead, here you are, relying on the strength of your brother to get you out of the fortress.
One of his arms stays secured tightly around your waist while the other holds his sword, prepared to slay anyone who gets in his path.
He leads you up a flight of stairs and through a dark corridor, then shoulders open a door into a great hall, only to have a sword pressed to his throat the moment he enters.
“I knew someone would try to free the whore. I half expected it to be the King and, I must say, I’m a little disappointed I won’t be able to slay him where he stands,” she muses, grinning wickedly at the two of you.
Elden slowly releases your waist then swipes his sword upward, knocking hers away from his throat.
He takes a defensive stance in front of you, his attention only half on the battle at hand as he tries with all his might to protect you.
Sharon sidesteps a blow and manages to knock your brother onto his back, swiftly kicking his sword away and rendering him helpless.
“Please, don't!” You try, stumbling forward a step.
“It’s a pity, really. You seem like a decent fellow. And now you must die for the stupidity of your sister.” She raises her sword and goes to strike, and you close your eyes tightly, refusing to witness the murder of your brother. Instead of hearing metal slicing through flesh, you hear the clash of a sword against another sword.
Natalia stands before Sharon, her sword blocking the Beta’s.
Elden scrambles back, grabbing his sword off the ground and rushing to your side again as the redhead and the blonde face off.
“You would fight me, your sister, for a man who cares more about some whore than he does his own people?” Sharon demands, glaring daggers into Natalia’s eyes.
She grinds her teeth together and shakes her head, “no. I would fight you to serve she who is my Queen.”
Elden takes that as his cue to leave, wrapping his warm around your waist and helping you through the great room as Nat keeps Sharon’s attention.
“I do not wish to kill you, sister,” the beta whispers.
Nat only chuckles softly. “You won’t get the chance.”
Their swords clashing is the last thing you hear before Elden gets you outside the fortress and into the fresh air.
You take deep breaths of it, having missed the feeling of the wind on your face, but your relief is short-lived.
Instead of the peace of nature, you’re greeted with a bloodbath.
And, right in the centre, are the two men who have caused you the most pain in your life, fighting each other to the death.
James fights with practiced skill, his age not slowing him like so many believed it would. If anything, it gives him more power than his opponent.
The soldiers around give them a wide berth, knowing that they are each other’s opponents, a kill meant solely for the other.
James swipes the traitor's knees and sends him to the ground, then presses the tip of his sword to the man’s chest.
He pants on the ground, blood dripping down his chin as he grins at the King.
“I understand why you took her the way you did, now,” he begins, ignoring the anger in the King’s eyes. “Why you forced her to submit. She looked so pretty, screaming and crying and begging me to stop. But I didn’t. Because she deserves to be treated like the filthy, worthless whore she is!” He spits the words -and a bit of blood- into James’ face, and the King is enraged.
A roar tears from his throat as his eyes burn brighter than the fiery pits of hell, any shred of humanity gone as his Alpha takes over completely.
He tosses his sword aside and pounces on the man, laying punch after painful punch to his face and neck and anywhere he can reach.
He doesn’t care if it isn’t honourable. He doesn’t care if it’s weak.
All that matters is punishing the man who hurt his Omega.
You watch in horror as your Alpha beats on the man who hurt you.
Dragging Elden through the battle, you move as quickly as you can toward them.
“Stop!” You shout, your voice stronger than you thought it would be.
It carries out on the wind, across the courtyard, and many men do, indeed, stop.
Your husband is one of them.
With his fist raised and ready to strike again, he stops, snapping his gaze to the source of your voice.
Everything seems to pause as you approach, pushing away from Elden to walk on your own, determination and anger fuelling you.
Your eyes sting and clouds cover the skies as the Gods mirror your wrath.
“I should do to you exactly what it is you did to me,” you hiss at the man on the ground, pulling a sword from a corpse as you pass it and approach him.
“I should beat you senseless,” you spit, the fire in your voice rivalling that in your husband's eyes.
“I should take you against your will, force you to do things you’d sooner die than do!” You stop before him, sword held tightly in your hand as you press it to his throat.
James rises silently and steps back, allowing you to do whatever it is you please to the man.
“I should strip from you your pride, your dignity! Steal your hope and your faith until you are nothing but a shell of who you once were! And then, when you are begging for a fate so kind as death, I will not grant it.”
You lean down slightly so that your face is closer to his and drop your voice to a whisper, your bottom lip quivering.
“But I will not. Because I am not like you.”
You toss the sword aside and rise to your full height again.
“You will answer for your crimes the way all criminals do. And you will die a pointless, senseless death. Without honour, without victory. Your name will not be breathed of in the history of this country, and your very existence will be erased. All this,” you motion around you, to the fighting that has ceased, “will have been for nothing.”
Fury gathers on the man’s face as you step back again, your husband nodding toward him.
“Bind him and bring him to the dungeon.”
Two men grab him and drag him out of your line of sight, but you can hear them treating him roughly.
Good, you think.
Your hands tremble slightly and the weight of everything that has happened slowly slips from your shoulders, only to be replaced by the familiar and welcome weight of your husband’s hands.
“Omega,” he whispers, turning you to face him.
You look up at him with wide tear-filled eyes and bury yourself in his chest.
He’s caught off guard for only a moment before wrapping you in a tight hug, squeezing you as if he’s trying to melt your body into his.
Tears rain down your face when you pull away to look up at him, and he immediately leans down to nuzzle against your bond mark.
He kisses and licks it, scenting you thoroughly and calming down the raging alpha within himself.
Once he’s satisfied that you smell of nothing but him, he pulls away slightly and gazes lovingly into your eyes, tears on his own cheeks.
“Omega,” he repeats, stroking your cheek gently.
You lean into his touch and reach up with hesitant fingers, tracing over his lips gingerly.
“Alpha,” you reply, lost in the feeling of having him again.
He shakes his head and brings his forehead down to rest against yours, squeezing his eyes shut.
“I thought... I thought I’d lost you forever,” he confesses.
You lean up to brush your lips against his, “I’m here, Alpha. You saved me.”
A growl rumbles in his chest and he wraps his arms around your frame again, needing to feel you against him.
You rest your head on his chest, listening to the steady thumping of his heart as he addresses his men.
“Any man who wishes to fight against us may do so. But he will be killed, along with his family.”
Not a single man moves a muscle.
“That’s what I thought. Round up the traitors, bind them all. They will be tried when we return,” he says to Sam, his hands never leaving you.
“Go home, Your Majesty. Be with your Omega. We can handle this,” Elden says softly, stepping forward and placing a gentle hand on your shoulder.
James bows his head in gratitude and nods his agreement, taking your hand and leading you away from the bloody field.
He helps you onto his horse then climbs on in front of you, waiting until your arms are wrapped around his waist before he begins the journey home.
Upon his horse, with your arms around him and your head pressed against his back, your inner omega finally feels peace.

“Mmm, well good fuckin’ mornin’ to me.” Eddie growls, as two of the most beautiful people he’s ever witnessed lay between his hairy, pale legs.
“Yes, suck the tip Stevie, while our princess sucks my balls.” He continues through gritted teeth, “fuck yeah.” He hissed before bringing both hands to rub down his face and through his frizzy, bed hair.
“God, if this is just another wet dream, I’m gonna be pissed.” He chuckles before it turns into a loud whimper caused by the particularly hard suck you gave to his balls while Steve pushed his head down further, bringing Eddie’s cock deeper down his throat.
“Does that feel real enough?” You tease before sliding your tongue across the metalhead's sensitive sack and down to his gooch.
“Oh, someone’s fucking mouthy this morning.” He declares, making Steve giggle with a mouth full of cock.
Eddie tugs at Steve’s luscious locks, pulling him off as a loud pop rings out into the sunlit room, causing the little cock slut to whine, but before you can tease him, the older boy is grabbing a handful of your hair and wrapping it once around his knuckles, pushing you down onto his spit soaked cock.
“Yeah, can’t say anything now, can you baby?” Eddie mocks, making your cunt clench around absolutely nothing.
The groggy boy thrusts his hips harder into your mouth before bringing Steve’s needy lips to his. They kiss and suck at each other as Eddie continues to fuck your deliciously sore throat.
The smacks and moans coming from the head of the bed, egg you on as you twist, suck and gag on Eddie’s painfully hard cock.
“Can Steve come help me?” You beg as you bat your lashes up at your boys, making them break their hot as shit, kiss.
“You want Stevie boy to help you clean up my cum? Is that it?” Eddie knows how much you and Steve love swapping his cum through sloppy kisses, hell Eddie loves it more than both of you combined, so who is he to deny you?
“Get down there with our girl, baby.” He whispers to Steve before bringing him in for one last kiss.
The pretty boy obliges by sliding down and planting himself right beside you.
“Hi.” He whispers sweetly, giving you a quick kiss to your lips before bringing his to one side of Eddie’s shaft, moving up and down in quick but calculated movements.
You shadow him by bringing your lips to the other side, matching his pace and occasionally licking the vein that runs up Eddie’s throbbing cock.
“Oh, fuck yeah.” The older boy mumbles under his breath as his eyes shift from yours to Steve’s. Both of you looking up at him while your mouths move simultaneously along his cock, will have him busting in your mouths in seconds, it’s honest to god his weakness. He feels like a king being worshiped by two beautiful servants. Like the luckiest son of a bitch, alive.
You and Steve rub your tongues together over his tip, spit and precum clinging to both sets of lips that continue their assault on the bright pink, spongy skin.
“Oh fu-uck! Tongues out. Now.” Eddie demands through loud huffs of pleasure. Once both of you have your tongues displayed for the metalhead, warm spurts of cum hit one before he brings his tip to the other, giving his two cum sluts their well deserved treat.
You both hold the cum exactly where it landed, letting Eddie get a good look at his mess before you and the pretty boy begin kissing, swapping loads back and forth, the treat drips down Steve’s chin and you eagerly lick it away before continuing the sloppy share of Eddie’s beloved seed.
Tumblr media
It’s been a month and a half since Eddie and Steve have moved in with you, the first two weeks were a mixture of awkward and taut energy as you three adjust to life together. Not to mention the sexual tension between you and the boys, having to hear them some mornings or nights being intimate with each other while you knew you wanted so badly to be a part of it and them wanting you to join but not wanting to come off too strong.
It was a challenge, that is until Steve finally had enough and sat you down their second week of residency, with a very shy but eager Eddie by his side.
“So what did you guys wanna talk about?” Your voice low and your fingers fidgeting with nervousness as you pick up the haphazardly strewn about mail laid out on the kitchen table, stacking it together before shuffling it like a pile of cards.
“Well…” Steve draws out, “to just put everything out on the table…Eddie and I felt something that night, the night we came over and ya know, filmed with you… and we thought we’d just kinda continue whatever it is we had going on, but it just sorta seems like you’ve been pulling away from us.”
He runs a nervous hand through his chestnut locks before continuing “did you not feel it, too?” Eddie and Steve look at you with doe eyes, filled with sadness as they both search your face for answers.
“I did feel something, too…” you begin as you look back and forth between the pretty boy and metalhead, “I just didn’t want to come in between anything or insert myself where I didn’t belong.” You admit, as your anxious fingers continue to fidget, now with your rings.
“Baby,” Eddie starts, giving you that puppy dog look that makes you weak in the knees, the one where he tucks his chin into his chest, looking at you through his long lashes. “Trust me when I say, you belong between us.”
And that’s how your month-long relationship with the boys started. They quit their job at ‘the dungeon’ to make content with you full time.
After you had posted the video to your only fans, your subscribers went crazy for Steve and Eddie, wanting to see more of them with you, along with so many requests for them to make their own; where they could do solo content, which you heavily encouraged.
You and Steve came up with the idea of turning one of the guest rooms into a “sex dungeon” as Eddie called it. Shelves lined with dildos belonging to all three of you; the flesh like one that attached to the strap on you’ve used to fuck Steve with sat front and center, a sex swing; compliments of the boys sat in the corner next to the window lined in black sheer curtains. Ring lights, tripods and any electronic equipment were placed neatly in the spacious walk-in closet and lube, handcuffs, vibrators and butt plugs took up the two drawers in the bed side table.
The other guest room; that was now left vacant, belonged to Eddie and Steve when they first moved in. Now you all share the primary room with discussions of purchasing a bigger bed as Eddie was a stage five clinger in his sleep, he enjoyed being right underneath you or Steve at all times during the night, but you had a feeling a bigger bed wasn't going to change that habit.
Things were perfect, like all levels of the honeymoon phase, perfect. There was only one thing left in your relationship to do, and that was to meet their friends from Hawkins, and for them to meet Michelle. So like the genius you are, you planned to throw a Halloween party with it being mid October, the leaves now beautiful shades of orange, red and browns. It was going to be perfect.
So some cleaning and decorating were in order.
Tumblr media
“Fuck.” Eddie huffs, before stretching with a loud yawn. “You both wear me the fuck out.” He chuckles to himself before finding his previously discarded boxer shorts, that were covered in dried up cum from last night's tryst of frotting both boys until they came all over each other's spent cocks and the fabric that Eddie was too impatient to remove all the way.
You and Steve giggle at the metalhead between kisses, you can still taste Eddie on his tongue as you continue devouring his mouth.
“I’m gonna go take a shower, you two have fun.” Eddie smirks down at you both, giving a salacious wink, before sauntering over towards the bathroom.
“Mmm, I get you all to myself?” The pretty boy purrs before kissing down your jaw towards your sweet spot, just under your ear. “I’m gonna fuck you full.” He growls into your ear making you moan and shiver. “I know after sucking cock together your pussy turns into a slip-n-slide.” The honey eyed boy whispers before softly biting at your earlobe.
“Mhm.” You moan back in agreement. “Need it so bad, Stevie.” You gasp as one of Steve’s fingers roughly pinch at your peaked nipple.
“I know you do, baby.” He nods with a mocking pout on his lips. “My little cock slut.” He playfully chides, giving one last tug to your nipple.
“Yeah, you and me both.” You retort, making him laugh into your neck.
“You're not wrong there.” He guffaws, “but, I'm a pussy slut right now.” His response pulls a belly laugh from you as you lay your head on his shoulder. God, you love him.
Wait what?
“Lay back baby, let me show you how much of slut I am for your pretty pussy.”
You and Steve make it down stairs an hour later, all giggles and flirty banter as you both walk into the kitchen, taking in the mess and calculating what needs to be cleaned and where decorations should go.
Eddie went to pick up last minute things for the party, giving you and Steve a sweet kiss while the pretty boy pounded into you from the back. Eddie smiled to himself, shaking his head in complete adoration for the both of you. With anyone else, Eddie would have been an angry, jealous mess; walking out to see the person he’s in love with fucking someone else. But with you, it was different because that love now extended to you, too. You weren't just a random person to them, seeing you and Steve together made him anything but angry. He loved taking a backseat and watching his two lovers, love on each-other. That shit was pure ecstasy, man.
Tumblr media
Once all the dishes were washed, floors were swept and mopped and all surfaces were wiped down; you and Steve decide to take a quick shower together before getting straight to decorating.
While you were washing the shampoo out of the pretty boy's signature locks the shower curtain was being ripped open, making you and your boyfriend yelp from sheer terror.
“Jesus Christ.” Eddie says with a snicker, “Is that how you’d protect our girl from an intruder, huh Stevie?” The metalhead jokes as he removes his clothes,
“Oh, I didn't expect anyone to pull a psycho on me today, sorry my guard was down.” Steve sasses as he rolls his eyes.
“Always gotta be on guard, baby.” Eddie responds with, as he steps into the shower leaving you squished between both boys. You couldn't help but to giggle at their banter, you loved it.
“Sorry angel, don’t mean to take up all the room, but I missed you both and I just wanted to be next to you.” The long haired boy confesses as he playfully grabs for yours and Steve's ass. “Two juicy asses, how’d I get so lucky?” He says through gritted teeth, as his eyes glaze over in lust.
“I feel the same way about your cocks.” You admit, bringing both boys in towards you as you share a threeway kiss, all lips and tongues. Both of them moan into it, making you want to say ‘to hell with the party’ and spend all day in bed fucking each others brains out, but you knew that wasn’t an option.
“Come on, we still have so much to do.” You say, delivering swift slaps to both of their behinds, before you're grabbing your towel off the rack and stepping out.
Tumblr media
Finally, after all your guys’ hard work, the house is set up for the Halloween party of your dreams.
The front door was lined with pumpkin lanterns, an animatronic ghost face stands tall on your front porch, the fog machines are on and smoking up the walkway, spooky sounds ready to go off when the party goers ring the doorbell.
Once inside, all the light bulbs have been changed to either orange or purple and there’s a walkway of stickers that look like bloody footsteps and splatters leading to the snack table in the dining room. Everywhere you look there’s a bat, spider or pumpkin; even the guest bathroom was decorated in some type of Halloween fashion.
But the snack table was the real star of the show, it sat lined with all of the treats Eddie ran out and picked up; caramel apples, cookies, cupcakes, cake pops, even a s’mores bar.
A cauldron filled with dry ice and jones green apple soda sat in the center as it bubbled and fogged up like a real potion, a spider web tablecloth laid beneath the display and orange lights were intertwined between the trays of sweets.
On the kitchen island lay the appetizers; nachos, mummies in a blanket, a cheese board with a plastic skeleton lying in the middle, and finally the numerous boxes of pizzas you ordered.
Everything was perfect.
How you all got it done between quick make out sessions and groping each other every five minutes was beyond you, but you were proud of the outcome, nonetheless.
When your first guests arrived you were already fitted in your tight shiny black tube dress, matching gloves that went up mid shoulder, a little pointy witch hat, black knee high socks and your black platform Mary Jane’s.
The boys were in their matching black cat costumes which mainly consisted of all black clothes, cat ears, cat collars and their faces painted with whiskers and a snout. They were the cutest little kittens.
Steve answered the door as the spooky Halloween sounds rang out through the house.
“Hey, baby.” Steve called from the front door as you were setting out the black solo cups.
Once you and Steve are standing side by side, Eddie runs downstairs, ready to greet the first guests.
“Baby, this is Robin and her girlfriend Chrissy.” The pretty boy says, beaming with his million dollar smile, as he motions to the two beautiful girls standing in front of you. Robin was Mia Wallace from Pulp fiction while Chrissy was the bride from Kill bill, they looked equally amazing.
“Hi, it’s so nice to meet you.” You say as you go in for a hug. Chrissy gives you a bear hug as if you’ve known eachother forever while Robin gives an awkward side hug that makes you giggle in amusement.
After introductions Steve gives Robin and Chrissy the grand tour, while you get back to setting up the finishing touches.
Throughout the night, new faces continued to show up; you met the hellfire kids, their girlfriends and will’s boyfriend, Eddie’s old bandmates and their girlfriends, some friends of Steve’s from high school and Eddie’s old buddy Rick and a couple of his friends.
For living thirty minutes from Hawkins, it was a pretty good turn out.
You stride into the living room from the kitchen, looking for one of your boyfriends. Finally catching a glimpse of Eddie’s wavy brown locks as he takes a seat on the couch surrounded by familiar faces, blunt in hand and ready to light up before his eyes meet yours. He sends you a smile and a wink before waving you over.
“Hey, pretty girl. Come take a seat.” He says as he pats his lap, gently pulling you down by your arm before you situate yourself on top of him. “Careful there, angel.” Eddie whispers into your ear with a smirk as your bottom slid against his now growing bulge.
As Eddie was sparking up his blunt, too preoccupied for his surroundings, you caught eyes with two boys you had met earlier and were introduced to as Steve’s friends from high school; Billy and Tommy if you remembered correctly. They were eyeing you up and down hungrily from across the room, cocky smirks on their lips as they spoke back and forth, clearly about you.
You looked away as quickly as your eyes found them and when you glanced back over, they were gone.
You let out a heavy exhale of breath you didn’t realize you were holding as your attention went back to the metalhead underneath you.
“What’s on your mind, baby?” Eddie asks as he softly kisses your neck before offering you a hit.
“I’m okay,” you say with double meaning towards Eddie’s question and his offer of the blunt.
“I actually have to pee, I'll be back in a bit.” You announce before Eddie quickly takes your chin in his grip and pecks your lips as he says through each kiss “okay…I’ll…see…you…later.”
You walk to the bathroom quickly, hoping not to be stopped by Steve’s “friends”.
You should’ve told Eddie about the way they were looking at you, but you didn’t want to make a big deal out of something that could potentially be nothing. Maybe they weren’t even looking at you, maybe there was more to it… whatever it was, you didn’t wanna be the thing that came between any boyfriend and his friends.
You make it into the hallway just outside the bathroom when you’re stopped by a rather tipsy Robin.
“Hey,” she cheerfully chirps, “I’ve been meaning to thank you, all night.” She beams but her words of gratitude confuse you.
“Thank me for what?” You ask curiously.
“For making Steve happy, Eddie too…” she says with a bashful smile, “they’ve been through a lot. Steve was pretty torn up over his ex, he wouldn’t move on for years, and was convinced no one else could love him. Then he found Eddie and don’t get me wrong I know he’s so in love with Eddie and they're happy…but now he has two people who will love him and give him what he’s always deserved… so thank you!” She goes in for a hug, this time it’s not an awkward side hug, but the same bear hug Chrissy graced you with, earlier.
“Of course, I intend on always making them both happy.” You admit as your heart flutters at her words.
She nods in satisfaction “I’m gonna go dance with Chrissy, if you want you can totally come and cut in, I’m sure Chrissy would love to dance with someone who actually knows how.” You both chuckle before going separate ways.
You use the bathroom quickly, wash your hands, then give yourself a once over in the mirror before heading back out into the barely lit hallway.
“Hey, I’ve been looking for you.” Steve says sweetly as he hugs you, both hands slide down your back slowly before he grabs at the meat of your ass through your tight dress. “Need you and Ed’s so bad tonight.” He whispers into your ear making a chill run down your spine in anticipation.
“You’ll have us baby.” You whisper back before kissing him deeply. You both moan into it before you pull away or else you’d end up fucking him right in the middle of the hallway.
“Mmm, I’m gonna use the bathroom and I’ll find you back out there, unless you wanna…” Steve nods towards the bathroom with a sly smirk. Fuck, these boys were gonna kill you.
“I think we should wait until everyones gone, get real filthy, ya know?” You purr as your fingers slowly walk up his chest before you boop him on the nose, then turn to leave.
“Fuck.” He exhales, shaking his head in utter disbelief and amusement as he heads into the bathroom to relieve himself of all the jones green apple soda mixed with vodka, he’s been drinking like water.
When you walk back into the party, you instantly find Chrissy and Robin in the middle of the living room dancing to Thriller with a few of the girls that came with Eddie’s band and DND club, they’re all laughing and smiling and the whole thing makes your heart feel so full.
Before you’re able to talk yourself out of the invitation you were given, you walk up to them; Chrissy immediately invites you in as she hooks her arm in yours giving you a bright smile.
“Hey, you.” She cheerfully greets you with. You could tell you and Chrissy were going to be fast friends, which you were thankful for considering making friends was never your strong suit and your one and only friend wasn't able to make the party.
You all dance, laugh and joke together for a long stretch of the night, you really haven't had this much fun and let loose with other girls in a long time.
Amber, who you now know is with Gareth, brought over fireball shots for you all to take.
The crowd cheers when you all smash them back.
You almost immediately make eye contact with Steve and Eddie who are sitting on the couch in perfect view of you after the hot liquid seeps down your throat. They’re smiling at you like love sick fools, making your stomach flutter and heart skip as your cheeks grow hot, making you look down towards your feet as if they've suddenly become more interesting.
But before you have a chance to look back up, your body immediately snaps to the voice in your ear that comes from behind you.
“Hello beautiful.” You tense up as a terrifying chill runs through you.
“Um, hi.” You meekly respond with, as your head turns to find Chrissy and Robin dancing, kissing and smiling no longer paying a lick of attention to you.
You didn't want to be rude and tell Billy to leave you alone so you continued to sway back and forth in front of him while he smiled down at you with the most predatory eyes you've ever encountered.
“This is a cute little party you’ve put together.” He chuckles as his minty breath hits your face before he's moving in closer to you.
“Thanks.” You dryly say to what felt like a condescending comment.
“Aw, you shy princess?” He asks before he’s tucking a stray piece of hair behind your ear. “Actually, I just came over to tell you I'm a big fan...” He reveals, before getting closer to your ear. “A huge fan.” He whispers.
You feel almost stuck to the ground as you make no moves to get away, until you feel a hand being wrapped around your waist.
“Sup Hargrove? You’re a little close to my girl, don’tcha think?” The metalhead says through clenched teeth.
“Oh, my bad Munson. You're right, you're right..” He says as he takes one more head to toe glance at you before turning and walking back to his freckled faced friend.
“I fuckin’ hate that guy.” Eddie growls as he grabs onto you possessively, as if to mark his territory in front of the two creeps.
“Why is he here then?” You ask curiously as you place your arms over Eddie's shoulders, gently grabbing onto the nape of his neck.
“They’re friends with Steve, use to play basketball with him in high school but they don’t really keep in touch anymore so I honestly have no fuckin’ clue.” He scoffs, giving them one more death glare from over your shoulder.
“You both okay?” Robin asks as she now stands beside you with a bubbly and drunk Chrissy.
“Yeah, we're good.” Eddie speaks up as his grip on you tightens. “You wanna come get some pizza with me, baby?” He whispers before placing a tender kiss to your cheek.
“Yeah, let’s go.” You agree as he eagerly grabs at your hand, interlocking your fingers as you both walk into the kitchen on a hunt for the last few pieces.
Most of the night you find yourself in heavy rotation with Eddie, Steve, Robin and Chrissy but occasionally making your rounds to talk to and get to know more of the boys’ friends.
You find yourself in an interesting conversation with Jeff and his girlfriend Lily who want to start an Only fans of their own, asking for tips and the do’s and don'ts of it all.
Tumblr media
“Fuck, I want you so bad.” Steve whispers to Eddie through the lewd smack of their lips.
“I know baby boy but we have to wait, okay? Can you be a good boy for me?” Eddie asks, making Steve whine into the kisses he was placing on the older boy's neck, making him chuckle.
“So damn needy, aren’t you?” The metalhead growls as he grips and pulls his boyfriend's hair, immediately removing his lips from his skin.
A voice coming from the garage stops Eddie in his tracks.
“She looks so fucking good tonight.”
“Yeah, but you’ve seen her, she’s all over Steve and Eddie man, she won’t go for it.”
“Fuck that. Trust me she will, she’s a slut, plus I think they’re in an open relationship or some weird shit anyway, they’re sure as shit not serious if they’re all fucking each other. Come on man this is why we came.”
“Hmm, I don't know dude might have to slip something in her drink to guarantee a sure time.” One of them snorts at the sick joke.
“Hey, we’ll do what we gotta do.”
The boys are absolutely sure now that the voices coming from behind the garage door belong to Tommy and Billy.
Eddie is seething, his hands are clenched so tight all the veins in his arms are sure to be popping out as his breathing becomes ragged.
Steve goes from horny to fucking fuming in seconds.
“Hey assholes!” Eddie shouts as he rips open the heavy door making the two idiots freeze in a state of shock.
“Oh fuck.” Tommy says under his breath as he sees the looks on the other boys' faces.
“You thought you were gonna come into our house and fuck our girl?! You two fucks are even dumber than I thought.” The metalhead spits as his ringed finger points at them in a blind rage.
“Hey dude, chill the fuck out!” Billy growls, stepping up into Eddie’s face.
Billy fucking Hargrove, always looking for a fight.
‘Well he came to the right place’ Eddie thinks to himself.
“You both need to get the fuck out of here. Now.” Steve says with so much indignation, if Eddie wasn’t so pissed, it would’ve been sure to make his cock twitch.
“Nah, I think there’s a fine piece of ass in there waiting for me.” Billy snides, pushing both boys out of the way as he takes a step inside.
Before he can, he’s being pulled back by his leather jacket, falling flat on the floor. Eddie immediately straddles the mullet haired boy, hitting him with his fists until his knuckles begin to ache and blood becomes visible from both him and Billy.
Tommy goes to pull Eddie off but Steve is there in a flash, punching Tommy and instantly cracking his nose. Steve’s never been one to fight or win one for that matter, but the anger that came over him at their words and their threats to drug and rape you, made him see red.
You along with the older hellfire boys make your way out into the garage after hearing some of the commotion. When you walk in you’re met with a bloody scene; Eddie’s on top of Billy, his fists flying and his face screwed up in complete rage.
Steve has Tommy by the collar of his shirt holding him up against a wall, the freckled faced boy's wounds match Billy’s as crimson red streams from his nose.
Steve says something through his teeth before he’s letting go and letting the boy drop to his knees.
Gareth and Jeff pull Eddie off, holding him back as he tries to get away and finish off what he started.
“You shitheads need to get the fuck outta here, now! I’m not gonna fucking say it again.” Steve roared, making both boys get up and stumble back to their cars, as they grab at their faces that are now gushing with blood.
You look on in horror, completely confused as to what started the whole brawl.
You go for Eddie first who is still shaking with fury.
“Baby, what happened?” You frantically question as you grab at his leather jacket, trying to calm his shaking form.
He immediately grabs you, tucking you into his chest as his arms close in around your body, tightly squeezing and swaying as if he hadn’t seen you all night. He continues by kissing the top of your head over and over until you look up at him, his eyes glassy and red but now all you can see in them is love, so much love that it almost takes your breath away.
He cups your face, rubbing his thumbs against your cheeks before he’s kissing you, deeply.
Steve comes up from behind you, wrapping his arms around you and Eddie as he lays his head on your shoulder, making you and Eddie break from your kiss.
Steve had been explaining what had happened to Gareth, Grant and Jeff as well as to a wide eyed Robin who walked in at the tail end of the confrontation.
“I think we should tell everyone to leave.” Steve whispers, making you and Eddie nod in agreement.

You all say your goodbyes with lots of hugs and ‘nice to meet yous’ as everyone heads out to their hotels they’d booked around the city.
Robin and Chrissy head up to your guest bedroom, falling asleep almost instantly on the comfortable, fluffy bed.
You take your boyfriend’s into the guest bathroom to clean up their fists while they explain what happened with Tommy and Billy. You were not shocked to say the least and decided to inform them on how you caught the creeps looking at you when you were sitting on Eddie’s lap, more anger filled them as Eddie and Steve agreed they deserved worse than what was given to them.
Finally, while you follow each other upstairs they can’t keep their hands off of you, it’s almost as if it’s primal instinct, like they now have to show you who you belong to. They both tug at your dress exposing your tits while halfway up the stairs. Steve gives your nipples attention until you reach the top where Eddie picks you up bridal style walking you to your shared bedroom as Steve follows behind.
The metalhead throws you onto the bed as both boys eye you with complete, carnal need.
Steve removes your shoes before he’s tugging your dress off the rest of the way, this time they take your knee highs off, wanting you completely naked for them.
Each boy kisses up and down your body, worshiping you as they whisper sweet words of praise into your skin.
“You're so beautiful, baby.” Steve says, before Eddie cuts in with “and you’re all ours.”
Eddie snakes an arm around you, moving you up towards your pillows as if you weigh nothing. He tears your panties off with a loud rip with promises to buy you a new pair as he and Steve lay on either side of you. They kiss your jaw, neck and arms as they each take one of your thighs, rubbing their palms against the meat of them before they're spreading them wider, hooking each foot over their laps so they have easier access to your center.
A shiver runs through you, the parallel in which you felt with Billy is staggering as you realize you will never want anyone, the way you want them.
Both boys bring their wet lips down to your already peaked nipples as they lick and suck at the erect buds, they snake their hands higher between your thighs as they each moan at the wetness that has built up for them and them alone.
Eddie slips two expert fingers into you and hooks them, immediately finding your g-spot, while Steve runs his thumb over your already throbbing clit.
“Holy shit!” You whine in complete and utter pleasure as they both worship and play your body like an instrument.
“Yeah? That feel good, angel?” Eddie mocks, making you moan out louder as both boys’ fingers pick up their pace. The metalhead fucks his into you, as wet squelching could be heard over your wanton screams.
“That’s a good girl, taking everything we give you so good.” Steve praises after popping off of your nipple, that now shines with his spit.
“Just fucking made for us, weren’t you baby?” The long haired boy says while continuing to hit your spot, making your toes curl and your eyes roll back as your peak hits you like a blinding light.
“I’m g-gonna cum, please!” You whine as you throw your head back in complete bliss as both boys attach to each nipple again, their fingers continue to make your spread legs shake.
“That’s it, pretty girl, cum for us. I can feel you squeezing my fingers, just let go.” Eddie whispers
Their unused hands intertwined together behind your head, leaving you all attached to each other.
You’ve never felt so loved, as you let go and give them just what they want.
“Oh fuck!” You shout as you squirm in between them, a gush of fluid wetting their hands up to their wrists as they continue to fuck your through it.
“Fuck, that’s so hot!” Steve moans as he brings his fingers up to your mouth. “Open. Taste yourself.” He demands, you take his appendages that are now dripping in your cum and juices into your mouth, licking and sucking before taking them deep into your throat. Both boys groan as you bob your head, cleaning Steve’s fingers until the only wetness that is left is from your spit.
“That’s right, clean up your mess, dirty girl.” The metalhead growls as he brings his dripping fingers up and shoves them into your mouth after Steve’s removed his. “That’s a good girl.” He coos as he makes you gag, tears immediately fill your eyes as spit seeps out of your mouth and down onto his still reddened and split knuckles.
“Jesus, you’re so perfect, angel.” Eddie mutters as he nuzzles his nose into your jaw before placing more sweet kisses to your skin, a total juxtaposition to how he’s fucking your throat with his fingers.
The other brown eyed boy beside you nips at your ear as his fingers tweak at your sensitive nipples. All of their attention on you is so overwhelming in the best way possible and the fire that they just snuffed out in your lower belly, comes rushing back with a vengeance.
Eddie instantly removes his fingers as he feels you trying to clench your thighs together, that still lay over each boy's clothed lap.
Spit from your mouth dribbles down your chin and onto Steve’s hand that continues to play with your nipples, he roughly rubs the drool off your chin before he’s bringing it back down to your peaked bud, he oh so gently rubs it in with the pad of his index finger, creating goosebumps to form across your body.
The gentle touch to your nipple pulls a whine from between your lips as you grab onto both boys, “I need you.” Is all you can get out, as their hands work your body like their own personal work of art.
“Yeah sweet girl? What do you need, hm? tell daddy.” Eddie mocks with a fake pout.
Steve smiles into the kisses he’s placing onto your neck, at the use of Eddie’s title. There was once upon a time where that was his name for the metalhead but now it belongs to both of you, and fuck, If that's not an instant realization that he loves you and wants to share the other love of his life with you forever, then he doesn't know what is. It's almost as if there is no them, without you. Not anymore.
“Fuck, I love you so much.” Steve mutters to you, making you and Eddie stop, as both of your heads instantly snap towards him. Your wide eyed expression makes the pretty boy want to bury his head in the pillows in complete embarrassment. The metalhead’s stoic expression isn't helping.
“I-I love you too, both of you.” You admit, as your eyes switch from one boyfriend to the other.
Steve exhales a deep breath as Eddie’s face splits into a beaming smile.
“I love both of you, too. I think an unhealthy amount if I'm being honest.” The older boy jokes, but you and Steve both know there's so much truth behind his words.
“I need to feel you both, right now.” Steve whines, and as much as he’d love to have his boyfriend fuck him, what he really needs is to feel you, as his and Eddie’s cocks rub together.
“My two little needy, sluts.” The metalhead chides, before he’s up on his knees in an instant, pushing Steve down on his back and ripping off his clothes before he’s lifting you by your hips and placing you down on the pretty boy's lower stomach. You gasp in surprise; his strength causes the wetness between your thighs to puddle down on Steve’s happy trail, as he takes Steve’s throbbing cock into his mouth and sucks before he’s taking him deep in his throat and bobbing his head.
Steve sweetly takes your face into his hands, as he brings you closer to his lips, feverishly kissing you as his moans slip into your mouth.
Before you know it, Eddie is popping off of his boyfriend's cock and plunging it into your dripping pussy, making you both groan into the heated kiss.
The long haired boy comes up beside you, watching you both. Steve can no longer keep still, he bucks his hips up into yours causing both of you to moan out louder.
“Does that feel good?” He asks the pretty boy, making him bite his lip and nod with a little “mhm” before he’s fucking up into you even harder.
“Tell her, tell her how good she feels around your cock, Stevie.” Eddie whispers into his neck, sloppy kisses being trailed up to his jaw as the younger boy's eyes are rolling into the back of his head, so much pleasure being given to him, he can barely form the words.
“Y-you f-fuck, you feel so good baby, so good, so good…” he continues to repeat like a prayer as his eyes find yours, watching you as your face contorts in complete contentment.
Eddie’s moving back up onto his knees, not able to take anymore teasing as his cock is rock hard and painfully throbbing from just watching his two loves, making love. He needs to be inside one of you before he explodes.
“Inside her pussy.” Is all Steve says before he’s inching himself in right along the other boy's wet cock.
As much as you all have fucked, they’ve never been in one hole at the same time, well besides your mouth.
“Holy fuck, yes please!” You keen as your hand grasps at the headboard, gripping in such a fashion that your hand begins to ache but you can’t let go, as their cocks move simultaneously inside you.
“Yeah baby, take it.” Eddie growls as his hands cover Steve’s, who’s gripping your hips for dear life.
“I love feeling both of you at the same time. Fuck, it’s too good.” Steve whines before taking your nipple that sways above his head, into his mouth and sucking so hard you cry out, wiggling between them as your hips try to meet their matching thrusts.
“Stay still.” Eddie demands with a harsh slap to your ass, “Let us fuck you, kitten.” He groans as his thrusts get harder, skin slapping echoes out into the dimly lit room.
“Yes, daddy!” You sob as tears begin to form in your eyes at how amazing they feel, how much they’re stretching you out and how the steady fire in your belly begins to ignite deeper and blaze hotter, causing your whole body to shake and your eyes to snap shut.
The familiar build up of fluid can be felt before you're almost being pushed over the edge, about to cum so hard you feel as though you may lose consciousness.
A loud “ahh” is pulled from you as both boys perfectly abuse your g-spot with the tips of their achingly hard cocks. You clench around them so tight, making their sensitive tips rub closer together, bringing even more friction and stimulation.
“Oh fuck yeah, cum for us. Soak our cocks baby, c’mon.” Eddie whimpers, pulling your head back by your chin before he’s spitting into your open, wanton mouth.
You swallow it all down with a content sigh, so fucking close to the precipice of pleasure you can feel it as your toes begin to curl and your now grip on Steve’s shoulders gets tighter.
“Come on, fuck come on, pretty girl. Give it to us, baby. We need it.” The pretty boy groans as he tries to coax your orgasm out, faster.
“Oh, yes! I’m cumming!” You warn before a big splash of liquid drenches both boys, along with your new, red sheets below you.
“Yes, yes, I-Im mmm.” Steve moans as his cock begins to twitch, he paints Eddie's cock and your insides making both boys whimper into your skin.
The metalhead is the last to let go and when he does, he fucks his cum so deep inside you, it brings on one more intense but short orgasm from you. Making you clench again, around their sensitive, overstimulated and softening cocks as more liquid splashes onto their thighs.
The mixture of cum seeps down their shafts and to their balls. Eddie thinks the sight of all three of you mixed together is the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen, he fights his cock from twitching and coming back to life within seconds of such an intense release.
You and Eddie both fall off of Steve, into your respective places with you in the middle.
Both boys grab onto you and each other as if one of you could disappear into thin air, like losing either of you would be instantaneous.
After everyone's breathing settles and the room becomes quiet, Eddie chirps up. “I love you, both. Forever.” He says before he’s placing his head on your chest, his hand slides over your stomach as he reaches for Steve’s, they intertwine their fingers together before their hands settle on your lower stomach and over the sheet you’re all now laid under.
“I can’t wait to spend forever with my two favorite people.”

Soft touches, gentle kisses, sweet whispers, his skin against yours, his lips touch your hot skin as he runs his fingers through your messy hair. The raindrops are hitting the window, the candlelight flickers in the darkened room, the air is cold but his touch is warm as he presses his bare chest against yours. Steve looks down at you, his cheeks are flushed red, his breathing is still a little uneven as he comes down from the high. He smiles, raising his hand towards your face, he brushes your hair out of your face before he leans down to kiss the tip of your nose.
You wish he was always so sweet and gentle with you but you rarely got this.
“You’re so beautiful, princess.”
You smile at him, loving the way he makes your heart flutter. He looks so beautiful, he always does. The soft light in the room makes his skin glow, his eyes twinkle with adoration as he continues to stare at you, a single strand falls in front of his eyes but he doesn’t bother to push it away, he is focused on something else, on you. He traces your skin, your cheeks, your nose, your lips as he leans down to kiss you again and again.
“I love you.”
Your heart skips another beat, happiness runs through you.
“I love you more, Steve Harrington.”
He grins at your words but shakes his head, his eyes flicker down to the necklace around your neck, the one he gave to you.
“That’s impossible.”
“Is it?” You ask. Is it impossible?
He nods, eyes lighting up, “mhmm, I love you so much more.”
“You don’t love me more than I love you,” you argue.
“Yes, I do,” he argues back, moving closer down to you to capture your lips with his as his hands reach for yours so he can intertwine your fingers together, “I will always love you more.”
“Always?” You giggle when he parts from your lips to pepper kisses all over your face, “does that mean you’ll love me forever?”
A smile that is so convincing takes over his features, “yes, I will love you forever.”
“Promise?”
He squeezes your hand reassuringly, pecking your lips gently before he pulls away to look into your eyes with nothing but love, “I promise.”
He promised you a forever, he promised you endless love and you believed him, despite all the warning signs, you believed him, you always did. You believed his I love you’s whenever he kissed you goodbye before he would go see Nancy for their apparent study sessions. You believed him because you wanted it to be true, you wanted him to love you, you wanted him to keep loving you, you wanted him to keep his promise so badly.
But, you held onto a guy and a love that was long gone. He was good to you, he really was but not for long.
Tonight, he broke that promise– no, he broke that promise weeks ago already, when he realized that he no longer loved you but the other girl.
‘I’m not in love with you anymore.’
Another sob leaves your lips as his words repeat themselves over and over in your tired mind, your aching heart is still beating in your chest, you don’t know how or why but it does, it keeps beating even though you wish it didn’t.
You try to muffle the sound of your cries by burying your face in your pillow but your heart starts aching even more when you realize how much it smells like him. Tears stream down your face, you barely see anything at this point, your eyes are so puffy from all the crying, you hate it.
“I’m so sorry,” Heather whispers as she holds you, running her fingers through your hair, she does her best to comfort you.
Chrissy holds your hand tightly as she lies on the other side of you, facing you, she frowns at the sound of your cries. Heather glances at her with a sad look in her eyes, neither of them can do much right now, there is nothing that will help you feel better in the slightest, the only thing they can do is be there for you.
“We’ll take care of you, okay?” Chrissy says as she cups your cheeks, wiping your tears with her thumbs.
“You don’t have to–”
Heather grabs your shoulder, shaking her head at you, “that’s what we do, we take care of each other,” she says, looking at her other best friend, “right?”
Chrissy nods, smiling sadly, “right.”
They can wipe your tears and they can hold you, they can take care of you but they can’t fix your heart, they can’t get rid of the scent lingering in your room, of all the memories that you have made with him in here, of the pain that he had caused, of the love that you will always hold for him.
Why?
Why did he fall out of love with you?
Why did he have to break his promise?
Why, why, why..
So many questions run through your mind as you cry your eyes out but not a single answer can be found in the midst of your chaotic thoughts.
Your best friends touches do little to comfort you but you are grateful for them. Chrissy throws the pillow that smells like him on the ground and pulls you into her chest instead, you embrace the smell of her sweet perfume– though the smell of smoke and his cologne will always linger, even when it’ll eventually fade away, it will always linger. You cry yourself to sleep that night and when the morning rolls around and you wake to the sound of your friends voices downstairs, you quickly realize that something’s wrong. They are not talking, they are arguing with someone.
You furrow your brows and rub your tired eyes, looking down at yourself, you are still wearing the clothes from the night before. It only takes you a few seconds to remember what happened the night before. Tears spring to your eyes the moment you remember his words.
“Get out or I swear to god, I’m gonna kick your sorry ass!”
You blink the tears away and jump up from your bed, making your way out of the room, you don’t bother to look into the mirror before you rush out into the hallway.
“I just wanna talk to her, Heather.”
Steve.
A part of you wants to run back and hide and the other part wants to run back to him, hoping to hear an apology, hoping to hear that it was nothing but a stupid prank that he was dared to do by his friends. Deep down you know that that’s not it, still you keep the hope up as you walk down the stairs to see him.
Chrissy is standing there with her arms crossed over her chest, looking him up and down with a look of disgust on her face.
Heather’s jaw is clenched and she looks like she’s ready to throw a punch at your boyfriend– ex boyfriend. She never liked him, he left you with an aching heart too many times already. Every time you two end up fighting, he comes crawling back to you a few hours later, usually Heather is already there, drying your tears and comforting you and ready to kick his ass when he shows up.
“Get out, Harrington,” she says angrily, pointing to the open door. She has been waiting for the day to actually kick his ass to the curb. He never deserved a chance with you in the first place, you were always too good for him.
He sighs, shaking his head, “I want to talk to my– y/n, I want to talk to y/n.”
You blink your tears away, ignoring the ache in your chest as you lay your eyes on him. His hair is messier than it was the night before, his eyes are red, you can see it even from a distance. He hasn’t changed out of his clothes from the night before yet.
“No–”
“Heather, it’s okay.”
All three heads snap towards you, while your friends eyes are filled with concern, Steve’s eyes are filled with panic. He eyes you up and down, blinking, he steps forward, unable to meet your eyes.
“C-Can we talk?”
You can hear the shakiness in his voice, the fear and it only fuels your hope. Does he regret it? Does he regret even uttering those words?
You cross your arms over your chest, looking over at Chrissy first, her gaze softens when your eyes meet hers, she knows you need it, that no matter what will happen after this conversation, you need it, the closure, the answers that you cannot give yourself. Despite her dislike for him, she nods at you unlike Heather, who shakes her head at you, she doesn’t want you to hurt more than you already did.
You feel his eyes on you, it makes your skin crawl, it makes your heart hurt. Don’t go with him, just don’t. Both your heart and Heather’s eyes say to you but you ignore them, instead you turn towards him and nod, whispering a small yes.
You are the first to move, walking past him and out into the cold. It’s a chilly autumn morning, the wind touches your bare arms, making you shiver a little, making you regret not grabbing a sweater before coming out here. You look down as you wait for him to join you outside.
A car drives by, the wind howls through the trees, Heather mumbles something under her breath, a dog barks in the distance– you try to focus on anything but the fear that runs through you. The door shuts and it startles you a little, still you don’t look up, you bounce your foot up and down and try to steady your breathing, only when you feel the warmth of his jacket around your shoulders do you glance up at him. Though the gesture wasn’t a sweet one, he didn’t lay the jacket around you softly, he only threw it around your shoulders.
Usually that would earn him a sweet smile and a kiss on the cheek but now all he gets is a confused look, tear filled eyes and step back from you.
“Why are you here?”
“I wanted to talk.”
“About what?” You ask, knowing that the feeling of hope is a foolish emotion.
“About last night, I-I just want to explain–”
There is the smallest flicker of remorse in his eyes, regret and shame but he masks it with coldness.
“There is nothing to explain, Steve. I think you made things very clear,” you mumble, unable to look away from his eyes.
He blinks, he licks his lips and clenches his jaw as he nods, looking down for a moment before he looks back into your eyes. He can’t explain the feeling in his chest, the tight pull or the heavy squeeze in his heart. He doesn’t understand why this feels so wrong when it’s what he wanted. He wants to be with her. With the girl that everything feels so simple with. With Nancy he doesn’t feel all these heavy emotions, all this overwhelmingness, he doesn’t feel scared– with her he feels just free and excited, the thrill of the chase blinds him fully.
He looks down at you, at the girl that he first loved, the girl he promised a future to, the girl who’s heart he broke as though it was nothing. You look so small, the way you are standing there clutching his jacket as though it will bring him back to you.
“I just, I thought that you deserve a better explanation.”
You scoff at his words, staring at him in disbelief, “a better explanation?” You ask, “you told me that you are not in love with me anymore, I don’t think I need an explanation, Steve.”
“Shit,” he sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose, “I-I’m sorry, y/n.” He can’t even look at you, right now. Too much guilt lies on his shoulders, looking at you hurts his heart and he doesn’t even realize it.
“What exactly are you sorry for?” You ask, “f-for breaking my heart or for something else?”
You are not sure if you can handle more pain, more heartbreak or betrayal.
He shakes his head slowly, “I’m sorry for breaking your heart,” he admits, shamefully. He is not good at this, at confrontations, at breakups. Despite knowing that this is all his fault, he feels the urge to defend himself.
“It’s over, right?” You mumble, knowing the answer to it already but wanting to hear it from him.
He shifts uncomfortably, his brows furrow, eyes flashing with uncertainty as he feels tears welling up in his own eyes. Why does it feel so wrong to leave you? He wonders.
He could still change his mind, he could still have you, he could still stay with you but he decides against it. He nods at your words, wanting to get this over with quickly.
“Yeah,” he whispers as his shoulders slump as though this makes him sad, “it’s over.”
He broke your heart already, yet it feels like he did it all over again. You never thought that you would hear these words from him, you never thought that he would break your heart, you never thought that he would leave you. Your relationship with him was no fairytale, he wasn’t some perfect knight in shining armor. He could be mean at times, but he loved you and you loved him and despite all his wrongs, he still showed you how much you meant to him. He still promised you a love that would last forever.
Anger rushes through you, it crosses your features, your breathing becomes heavy as you look up at him with rage in your glassy eyes. “Why?” You ask, uncrossing your arms, you drop them to your sides, “why is it over?”
You know why but you want to hear him say it.
His face grows pale, he looks away from you, he is too much of a coward to say it.
“Why is it over, Steve?” You ask, “you wanted to explain, so explain! Why is it over?”
“You know why,” he mumbles.
All the times, he told you that you were overthinking things, that you were acting crazy when you confronted him about all the times he spent with her, when he told you not to worry because ‘there’s nothing to worry about, babe.’ All the times, he lied to you and made you look like a fool, only to stand in front of you and admit to it all.
“Say it,” you spit. Your voice is hoarse from all the crying, your vision is blurry from all the tears, “or are you too much of a coward?”
He tenses up at your words, his cheeks grow red from anger, he looks back to you.
“I’m not a coward.”
“Yes you are! You are a coward! You can’t even say it,” you say as you place your hands on his chest, pushing him back, “y-you told me that I was crazy when I asked you if you had feelings for her a-and now you are leaving me for her!”
He doesn’t fight your touch, he accepts it, the way you are pushing him back, the way you are hitting his chest. He closes his eyes, he feels guilty and regretful but he can’t show it.
“You promised me,” you whisper brokenly, “y-you told me that you would love me forever.”
You taste the saltiness of your tears on your quivering lips, you smell the smoke on his jacket, the wine that stained his shirt. You feel the coldness that he is giving you and it tears you apart. You feel the coldness that he is giving you– there is no love for you anymore, not from him.
“Did you really think that I meant that?” He asks, avoiding your eyes.
Your breath hitches in your throat, creating a lump that is making it harder to breathe. A new wave of tears settle in your eyes, your heart shatters for the third time. You push yourself away from him and take a step back.
“I didn’t, I-I’m not even sure if I ever loved you, y/n. I wouldn’t have fallen for her if I did love you, right?”
His words feel like a punch to your gut. He didn’t just break your heart, he ripped it out and stomped all over it.
He only looks at your face when you look down.
You are falling apart right in front of him, he can see that it takes everything in you not to drop to your knees and cry harder than you have before. His hands itch and his heart is racing in his chest.
You can’t even look at him anymore, it’s too painful. You don’t want to hear more of his hurtful words, knowing that you will love him no matter what.
“Then why did you say you did?” You ask shakily, “why did you ever say that you love me? Was it a lie? Was everything a lie?”
He clenches his jaw again, shrugging, “I can’t remember what wasn’t.” A part of him hopes that this will make it easier for you, easier to let him go but if anything, it breaks you more.
The sob that leaves your lips makes him regret it all in an instant but instead of taking it back and apologizing, instead of grabbing your shoulders and pulling you into his chest to try and make it better, he steps back. He watches the way your eyes flash with nothing but pain and confusion, he watches the way you cower back and try to wipe those tears that won’t stop falling, he watches the way you break because of him, the way this suffering will never end because you love him, you truly love him, unconditionally.
He can’t stand this any longer, he turns around and drags himself away from you. Deep down he knows that this moment will haunt him for the rest of his life. Your cries, the heartbroken and betrayed look on your face, you. You will haunt him forever.
He doesn’t know why he came here, it was over already, there was no reason for him to come here, yet something pushed him to come see you but not for these reasons, not to make any more mistakes, not to break your heart more than he already did but it seems as though all he can do are mistakes that he cannot take back.
He doesn’t understand why this feels like an awful dream, like a nightmare that he hates, deep down. But he keeps walking away from you, there is no other ending for the two of you, only the one where he leaves you.

II. ROME, ITALY: 49 BC
The roar that came from the bowels of the Colosseum never became easier to hear.
The noise seemed to make the city shake, the streets empty, the market stalls abandoned in favour of bloodshed. The games took place in the summer, when the skies were an endless blue and there were no clouds to tamper down the climbing heat. The sun bore down on the sandy pit of the enormous Amphitheatre and the seats were filled, the doors that had already been closed still surrounded by regretful stragglers who were forced to listen to the chaos from outside of the walls.
Fourteen men had died already, three from the jaws of the lions, two from the bears and eleven from the swords of other imprisoned slaves. The cheering from the crowd made your stomach curl. The floor of the stage was covered in red, the sand streaked with spilled blood and the animals that were bullied back into their cages had their jaws tinted pink.
It wasn’t a joyous occasion, no matter how many people celebrated in the name of their emperor. The leader of Rome was sitting mere seats away from you, dressed in ruby robes that were slung like a cloak over his white toga and his laurel crown glinted with golden beads that sat tucked into the olive wreaths. He was drunk on wine and violence, and your father sat next to him in the royal box, ever eager to please as he clinked his chalice against his kings.
Being the daughter of Rome’s most beloved senator certainly had its positives. You were dressed just as finely as the royalty around you, the fabric that was made to fit your frame swept to the floor and only yesterday, the emperor’s cousin had gifted you a necklace made of the finest gold, inset with glittering emeralds, pretty enough for a princess.
The same cousin smiled at you from across the row, each seat in the royal box made from plush velvet, the high backs ornate and cushioned, unlike the stone carved benches the rest of the civilians were sitting on. You smile back, uneasy but polite, and your father nodded approvingly.
You were expected to marry, you knew that much. You were already considered too old to be unwed and you knew the rest of the court whispered about how you would now struggle to bear a child. But the man that was expected to be your husband wasn’t who you loved. He wasn’t unkind, he wasn’t cruel - not like you’d heard men could be. The girls in the kitchen would tell you stories of how their husband made demands. Shouting each night for their meals, their baths, how their shirts weren’t stitched right, how their beds would lay cold because their wives were too tired.
Some men visited the bath houses, you knew that much. Seeking out a lupa for the night, the ladies that were called she-wolves, with their painted lips and robes that showed so much skin. Some men decided that they didn’t need to listen to their wives at all, you were once told, horror etched on your face. Some men took what they thought they owned.
So no, the emperor’s cousin seemed kind enough. But you weren’t in love with him. You weren’t sure who you were in love with. A dream, perhaps. One that kept returning to you from a young, young age. A dream about a different town, one you’d never been to before. But in your sleep, it felt like home. White buildings and green gardens with tall, tall trees and pretty, ornate gazebos made of stone on the edges of shallow ponds. You were by the sea there, a blue-green ocean that seemed so calm.
Sometimes monsters came, the marble statues that guarded the city came to life and turned your dream into a nightmare. There was always fire and fury, storm clouds and too big waves and a man with skin the colour of death would try and take your hand. But even when the dream turned bad, there was  always someone else.
A man, with a blurry face and a mess of almost too long hair. It hid his eyes from you and you could never make out too many details but you burned when you looked at him, you could weep when he touched you. Sometimes he led you through the burning town, his hand clasping your own as you both tried to run and run and run.
Other times, you lay in a bed with him, skin bare and your head on his chest as he murmured the sweetest poetry to you, words that made your heart race. Your dream was encased in white linen sheets, a hazy, soft light that always made it look like early morning and when the man’s lips met yours, you always woke up.
Him. You loved him.
You hadn’t been in love before, but whenever you dreamed of the stranger, you were sure that must have been what love felt like.
“Have some grapes, darling,” your thoughts were interrupted by your father as he thrust a plate of fruit and cheese under your nose.
But the fifteenth gladiator was being dragged through the gates by the armpits, a clawed hammer still sticking out from his chest and your insides turned over at the idea of eating such sweet treats as blood poured from the men in front of you. The emperor’s box was almost nauseatingly close to the fights.
You shook your head before you remembered your manners, smiling politely and murmuring, “I’m quite alright, thank you.” You blew out a breath, shaky and faint.
From your other side, one of the young girls who had been gifted to you on your sixteenth birthday waved a giant fan. A large peacock feather, a huge plume of colours that merely wafted the too warm air back and forth but you smiled your thanks at your lady in waiting, a pretty girl who’d turned into a prettier young woman. She was small and lithe, angular in the face with curls that came to her sharp jawbone and she smiled back.
Nancy, as she’d introduced herself to you a week after she’d arrived at your fathers house, from the Wheeler family of Liguria. She didn’t like the gladiator fights anymore than you did, always murmuring about the rights of the animals and how inhumane it was later in the night as she drew you your bath.
“—from Verona,” your father was saying with a mouth full of provolone. “One of their best, so they say, His Majesty simply had to have him.”
You blinked, frowning in confusion at your fathers words. You hadn’t been paying attention in the slightest and nothing you’d caught made any sense. “Sorry?” You grimaced apologetically and took a few pomegranate seeds from the plate of food in apology for your rudeness. “Who is from Verona?”
Your father rolled his eyes, a sure sign that you’d be lectured in his study later for your lack of respect. “The next gladiator, child.” He gestured to the stage where the soldiers were locking the gates to the tigers, each big cat growling with menace when the men came too close to the bars. “They say he’s unbeatable. Our Highness offered a more than generous helping of coin for his papers but Verona’s general didn’t seem to want to part with him.”
You frowned again. The crowd seemed to be aware of this man and his presence, murmuring and shifting in their seats in anticipation. “If that is the case,” you prodded. “Then how is he here? If the gladiators… owner—” the word left a terribly bitter taste in your mouth and you felt heavy with guilt when Nancy’s fan brushed your shoulder. “If his owner didn’t want to sell him?”
Your father snorted, an unattractive sound that made Nancy wince beside you. “No one tells the emperor of Rome ‘no’, dearest.” Your father shrugged. “The gladiator cannot be owned, if his owner is dead.”
Bloodshed. Always bloodshed.
A man came from the east side gates with chains around his ankles and wrists. You couldn’t quite see him for your seat, not yet, but the crowd above and around you roared, eager for the final fight to begin. The man already looked beaten and tired as soldiers stepped forward to unlock his manacles and you sat forward in your seat for the first time since you entered the Colosseum that day.
He had messy hair, dark brown and hanging just past his chin. It was already damp looking, matted and dirty from being kept god knows where as the emperor's new toy. He was shirtless, his body lean but corded with muscle. He had wide shoulders and a lithe waist, powerful thighs and skin that was tanned from the sun, a sure sign he spent too much time outside, training hard in the Italian heat.
As he moved closer to the middle of the stage, you saw the marks on his body, leftover scars and new slices in his flesh that still looked viciously red. The crowd got louder as a sword was thrown at his feet, a large, heavy looking thing with a bronze handle. Some cheered for the new warrior, hoping for some excitement, while others jeered and booed, already too attached to their darling reigning champion.
The gladiator picked up his sword and the crowd became wilder still, but he gave them no mind. He didn’t put on a show like some of the others, he didn’t flex his muscles or raise his weapon like it was already a prize. His leather loincloth was a deep wine colour, the tan leather pleats looking far from newly made and the material was already streaked with blood and dirt before his first opponent arrived.
Your heart felt heavy for him, as it did for all the others who were forced into the Colosseum - prisoners, slaves and animals alike. You watched the gladiator flex his wrist, testing the weight of his weapon just as the gates in the west cranked open.
Rome’s current champion strode out from the shadows and into the bright sun, his bare chest glinting with sweat and Hargrove held his hands aloft, grinning as the crowds went insane. He beat his chest, his long blond hair pulled back into a ponytail and when he was handed his own sword, he wasted no time in running towards the new fighter, the steel blade glinting.
You gasped, moving closer still to the edge of your seat and you couldn’t find it in you to bear much mind to the looks your father and Nancy shot you. It wasn’t like you to take such an interest in the sport, never mind be so heavily invested. You didn’t like to watch the wounded, preferring to close your eyes when the screams began, hiding cowardly behind Nancy’s fan when the blood turned the sandy stage pink and red.
But this new gladiator, he was fast.
He dove at the last second, dodging the tip of Hargrove’s blade and he rolled towards the section where you sat. Dust kicked up from the move, his sword tearing into the wreaths and sashes that hung from the Emperor’s box. You grasped the edge of the wooden frame, peering over the side and down to the stage, hoping to not see blood already.
Instead you found the gladiator looking back up at you, his sword still in his grasp and when his eyes met yours, they widened. Something like recognition hurtled through you, a feeling that sucked the breath from your lungs and you felt dizzy, like lightning itself had struck you from the sky. You thought the man perhaps felt the same, a frown on his face telling you that he felt just as confused as you did.
But before you could consider where on earth you could have possibly seen his face before, Hargrove attacked again, bringing his blade down to where the gladiator's shoulder should have been, if he hadn’t rolled once again.
You were on your feet now, the stares of your father be damned. Your eyes were wide, your heart beating far too fast, like you yourself were on the stage, being hunted for sport. Wood splintered into the space under your nails as you watched the man run, his muscles pumping, his eyes narrowed.
“Darling, are you quite alright?” Your father placed a hand on your arm, more confused than concerned.
“Yes, I just— yes.” You cleared your throat and sat down again, albeit back to the edge of your chair. You could feel the rest of the royal party staring at you. “Where did you say the man was brought from? The new gladiator?”
“Harrington?” One of the Emperor’s councilmen interjected. He pointed a pudgy finger at the brown haired gladiator, who was now swinging his sword with as much power as Hargrove. “Steven Harrington of Verona, best of his breed I heard. His general didn’t take too kindly to the King’s offering and well— you know what happens when his Highness is made to feel upset.”
The metallic clink of the swords filled the arena as everyone held their breaths. Not many had lasted this long against Hargrove before.
“Rumour has it that he didn’t take too kindly to his general being beheaded. Took six men to get him into the back of the cart, even more to make him train. He’s been refusing food all week.”
The idea of it made you feel unwell, a sickly, creeping kind of pain curling around each of your ribs and suddenly you were starving, just as much as you were sure the man would be. But still, I didn’t seem to make him move any slower, it didn’t hinder him in bringing his sword down any harder.
But strangely, every time the new gladiator was struck, every time his knees hit the raw sand, every time he got close enough for you to see him suck in a gasping breath— you felt it too.
It was a battle like you’d never seen before, more vicious than the others from that day, a showdown under the blazing heat of the high sun. No tiger seemed as powerful as Steven Harrington of Verona did. There was something animalistic in the way he moved, all power and lean muscle, a steely glint in his brown eyes that you didn’t dare look away from. He moved too quickly for Hargrove’s blade, dodging and diving as he flung up sand, blinding his opponent and slicing at his legs. Each move was a blur, the stage bleeding with fresh red, the blonde gladiator on his knees.
But Hargrove was ruthless, grappling with the newcomer until they were both wrestling in the dust cloud and the crowd went insane, people chanted and stomped their feet, the amphitheatre shaking down to its very bones. The imperial box quaked with the energy, but truly, you weren’t present enough to feel it.
Your eyes never left Steven’s fighting figure.
The swords seemed to be forgotten, the steel blades rusted with blood, both fresh and new, and they lay in the sand. Fists flew, knees pressed to chests to keep the other down and it was brutal, it was harsh, it was deadly.
You wanted to vomit. You feared you might.
You wondered what would happen if you leapt from your chair, if you let your skirts get torn and bloodied in the mess of the stage, if you threw yourself down onto the sand and begged for Hargrove to take his hands away from the new gladiator's throat.
Would you be punished? Beaten? Locked away? Killed?
You weren’t sure but somehow, all the options felt worth it. You couldn’t watch this man die before you. Not when it felt like you’d already witnessed his death before.
But Steven wrestled himself out of Hargrove’s hold, twisting and tumbling whilst he gasped, one hand clutching at his reddened neck and the other grappling for his blade. He swung it through the air, arching wide, his wounded shoulder ripping with effort it took but the sword landed where the warrior intended it to.
Silence settled over the colosseum, the air still enough for you to hear the surviving champion heave out gasping, heavy breaths. There was blood on his hands, his chest, his face.
His right eye was already bruising, red and lilac coming to the surface of his skin like fresh blooms in spring. His shoulder was a mess, his right leg causing him to buckle slightly as he rose to his feet.
The man turned, jaw slack, his sword falling limply to the ground once more, his opponent still and at his feet. His eyes found yours and time stilled, at least, to you. The crowd erupted, an explosion in its own right, the entirety of Rome cheering for their new champion.
A man you were sure you already loved.
By the time the fight had ended, you felt beaten and bruised. There were no marks on your skin, no blood seeping through your gown, but something inside of you hurt all the same. It felt like something was clawing at your heart, a memory that was banging on the front of your skull, screaming at you to remember.
When the guards dragged the gladiator from Hargrove’s limp figure, he dropped his sword to the sand and spat a mouthful of blood towards the ground at the royal pit. The Emperor merely chuckled as others around you gasped and before you could even hear your fathers protests, you were on your feet.
Steven Harrington was shackled once more, the metal chains clinking around his hands and feet. And as he was led away back into the arches, the gears of gates making an awful protesting noise, his eyes found yours once more.
A burning gaze, too intense to look away from and you could’ve sworn on the gods, on the stars above, that something inside of you tugged sharply. Like the pull of a string, tied in a bow between your ribcage, urging you forward.
Telling you to go.
So you did.
You gathered your skirts in your hands and made your way to the exit of the box, too focused to hear your fathers objections until the guards at the doorway halted you with their spears. The wooden stalks crossed themselves over your chest and you froze, the string tied to your heart pulling tighter and tighter and tighter—
The Emperor was staring at you, with cold eyes and a smile that wasn’t really a smile. He spoke to your father, not you. “Where, my dear senator, is your lovely daughter running off to?” The king turned back to you, brows raised. “Doesn’t she know that more wine will be served soon? My cousin is looking forward to her company.”
Your father stared at you, a stricken expression on his aged face because everyone in the royal box could read between the lines of the Emperor.
You cleared your throat, eyes still trained on the sharp metal points of the spears that were very much in your face. “Forgive me, father - your highness - I was merely hoping to get some fresh air.”
“The sight of all that blood makes her rather delicate,” your father agreed and the crowd of councilmen, generals and their wives tittered in their jewels. “She isn’t one for conflict.”
The Emperor stared at the side of your face, something you could feel despite bowing your head in his presence. You stared at the floor and waited, heart racing.
The royal tsked. “What a pity,” he declared but he waved a hand, each finger heavy with golden rings, and his soldiers stepped aside. “Be back in time for the parade, child, you have company to entertain.”
The Emperor’s cousin leered at you, his wine glass empty, his lips stained ruby but none of it mattered right now, not when you were taking off once more, skirts dragging across the dust and sand, your chest heaving as you tried to navigate your way through the crowd that was already dispersing.
More guards, heavily armoured and with their swords drawn, were too preoccupied with a fight that had broken out between the arches, two lower class men arguing over a coin they found on the ground. Taking your chance, you moved with your head down, your face hidden as you slipped through a door that was normally carefully watched.
The heavy wood slammed shut behind you, the sunlight swallowed whole. Burning torches lit the narrow corridor, a maze of them leading you underneath the Colosseum. The hypogeum was almost damp as you tried to navigate its many walkways, a gasp leaving your throat as you took a wrong turn and ended up face to face with the iron bars that separated you from the animals.
A huge tiger growled at you, bloodied teeth bared in a snarl, the stench of raw meat and faeces hanging in the cool air. You backed away, eyes flickering from cage to cage, each one filled with another poor creature. Lions, bears, a rhinoceros and its offspring, and beyond them, an even larger cell holding prisoners. They all stared at you, men and animals alike, but nothing was spoken.
You backed away, unable to breath, turning on your heel and walking quickly enough to spot the familiar grey robes of the healers used after the battles. You followed, your steps light, and watched him enter a small room. Between the door opening and closing, you spotted the gladiator perched on a wooden table, his head bent low and his face hidden behind his damp hair.
You weren’t sure what possessed you, but before you barged into the room too, both men staring at you from the table where the healer held a ragged cloth to the gladiator’s shoulder.
“Miss, you have no need here,” the healer announced, his voice strict and cold. He narrowed his eyes as he gestured to the door. “This is no place for—”
“My father sent me.” It was a lie, of course. A bold and bare faced one at that. But you stood a little taller and lifted your chin, the emerald necklace at your throat shining in the low light that came from the small fireplace in the corner. “The senate has questions I’ve been asked to deliver. I shall not leave without the appropriate answers.”
On the mantle, beside bottles of acids and other medicinal vials, sat a small statue of the goddess Veratis. Her marble eyes seemed to judge you and your lies and you swallowed down the bitter taste it left on your tongue. But looking at the man - this stranger from Verona - the need to speak to him, to be alone with him, was overwhelming you to the point of senselessness.
The trouble you could be in if you were to be caught in your lie… or worse, down in the hypogeum. This was no place for a woman of your standing, never mind to be alone with a gladiator, both of you unspoken for. You could feel your heartbeat in your throat.
“If we may have some time alone?” You added with more authority than you should have held. “Unless you’d prefer that my father leave the Emperor’s side to ensure his orders are fulfilled?”
The healer sighed but placed down his tools. He flashed you a smile that was all crooked teeth, more bite than kindness, but he made his way to the door. “That won’t be necessary, My Lady,” he told you and he left, closing the wooden door behind him.
The silence was a deafening thing. The crackle of the fire was still there, the distant roar of some poor, wounded animal, but whatever was held between the two of you took on a life of its own. It seemed to suck the rest of the world into it until there was nothing left but you and this man. He was staring at you still, brown eyes wide and so familiar, looking as confused as you felt as you stared right back.
It felt too easy to take a step forward, but the warrior flinched. Your next was slower, softer, more cautious. Your hand found the rag that the healer had once held, what little water it had been soaked in was cold, the material harsh. It didn’t take you long to find a new cloth in one of the drawers of the apothecary table and you took your time to warm some fresh water over the hearth.
Honestly, you didn’t know too much about medicine, only the basics that your father’s head servant had taught you as a young child. You found the small bottle of alcohol with ease, plucking it from the shelf and adding it to the warm water before soaking the new rag.
You held it up in offering to the man, still far enough from you that his dirty hair hid most of his face. His tanned chest was streaked with sweat and dust, marred with old cuts and fresher wounds from Hargrove’s weapon, but for the most part, he seemed okay.
“Can I?”
The gladiator lifted his head then, his hair falling away from his cheeks and you took in a sharp breath at the sight of his face. He was handsome, painstakingly so, but over and above all else, he was someone you were sure you knew.
The man nodded, just once, lips pressed together and as you came closer, his nostrils flared and his large hands gripped the edge of the table. His eyes raced across your features, recognition coming to the surface and before he could ask the questions that were clawing at his throat, you lifted the cloth and pressed it to the cut on his shoulder.
He hissed, teeth bared and you frowned, hushing him softly, apologies murmured just as quiet. “I’m sorry,” you told him and gods, he knew you meant it. “I need the alcohol to soak the wound.”
Your heart stuttered when he let you, shoulders tight and back ramrod straight, but his eyes were on your face the entire time you worked. “You’re not a healer,” he said. It wasn’t a question.
His voice rung through you, a deep timber that was hoarse and scratchy, no doubt from refusing to speak since his capture. You hoped he’d been drinking enough water.
You shook your head as you pulled away, dipping the bloodied cloth back into the bucket. “No, I’m not,” you confirmed.
Another swipe at his skin had him jerking in response but the blood and dirt was finally clear of the cut. It would need stitches, you were almost sure of it, but your skills started and finished at the basics.
“Then why are you here?” The gladiator’s eyes were trained on your necklace, a sure fire way to recognise nobility and you were overcome with the urge to rip it from your throat. “Why did you follow me?” He spoke like he already knew the answer.
You were hesitant about it, but you couldn’t stop your hand from lifting to his neck, fingertips brushing two beauty marks on his skin. They felt electric under your touch and you were impossibly warmer now, despite the old cell lacking the heat from the summer above.
“I feel like I know you,” you whispered. Your voice cracked with an emotion you didn’t quite know the name of. “I feel like I’ve mourned you.”
The gladiator looked back at you from behind his damp hair, the long strands matted with his and his enemies blood. He didn’t look as concerned as he should have been at your strange words. In fact, he leaned into your touch, lashes fluttering at the sensation.
“What an odd thing to say to someone who hasn’t died,” he answered quietly. But his gaze roamed over your features and something about being so close to him felt cosmic, it felt like a catastrophe waiting to happen. “I think I’ve met you before,” the gladiator whispered. He sounded reverent now, his own hand shaking as he brought it to your face.
He cupped your jaw, your chin, his rough fingertips trailing over your soft skin and when his thumb dragged across your bottom lip, you gasped and pressed closer.
“I think I meet you when I sleep,” he said and he frowned at his own words, at how confusing he must’ve sounded. “Every night, when I close my eyes. You’re in a garden and then you’re in my arms.”
Flashes of a bed came to mind, white linen sheets and too much bare skin. A man’s chest, tanned and muscled from hard labour, your hands that roamed the expanse of his back. You remembered how he kissed you in your dreams, with a longing so intense it could waken the gods.
Like he had enough love for you that he could end the world.
You could only nod. His thumb was still pushed to your bottom lip, your mouth parted as if you were waiting and his stare was so intense you felt warmer than you had in the stadium above.
Who was this stranger?
And why did it feel like something inside of you was being stitched back together by the sheer sight of him? His touch felt healing, it felt like home. Like it was only made for you to feel. Like he was made only for you.
Above, something boomed. Loud enough to be heard underneath the hypogeum, over the roars of the unsettled animals. If you had been outside, you would’ve witnessed the blue sky turning grey, shades of moody lavender and navy, storm clouds rolling across Rome from seemingly nowhere.
Thunder rumbled,  threatening noise, something that made you and the man move closer to each other, like you both knew you were in danger.
That you knew something bad was coming.
“I don’t understand,” you said, eyes blurring. You weren’t sure why you were crying but Steve didn’t seem to question it. He merely swiped away the tears that slipped down your cheeks. “You’re a stranger— we’ve never— we’ve never met.”
Despite your words, the gladiator moved closer, standing from his seat on the wooden table to lean his forehead against your own. Your eyes slipped closed, nose bumping his. He smelled like metal, like blood and dirt and sweat but underneath there was something like fire there, like molten iron, like lavender fields and fresh cotton. Like a daydream, like something you weren’t sure was real.
His bottom lip touched your top one, only just, only barely. A whisper of a kiss, a small insight of something that could’ve been, of something that maybe once was.
Thunder rolled again, louder than before, as if it was right above you both. Even over the din of the crowds above, you could hear the heavy patter of rain that was now flooding the colosseum, the stage soaked. Another warning, something you’d seen before in a dream just before it turned to a nightmare.
“I was meant to find you,” Steve murmured. He had your face cradled in his hands, an overwhelmingly gentle touch despite the dried blood under his fingernails. His voice grew in urgency then, like he knew something was coming. Someone. “I was meant to come here. I can feel it. I understand now.”
“Someone once told me you’d come back,” you suddenly remembered, your voice eager, your eyes wide at the memory. “I don’t know— was it you? From before? From—”
From another life, you wanted to say.
How ridiculous those words were, how silly, how stupid. But there wasn’t any other way to explain. Logic didn’t seem to exist when everything you felt from this touch of this stranger led you to believe that somehow, someway, you’d spend a lifetime together.
Like you were supposed to spend this one with him too. And it didn’t seem long enough, decades wouldn’t make up for the time you’d lost searching for him, for this stranger who only came to you in your sleep. But he was very real now, solid flesh and bone underneath your own hands, brown eyes that seemed warmer than the Italian summer.
You didn’t want to let him go.
“In here, my King,” a voice interrupted. The door was open and the healer had returned, a cold look on his already stern face. The Emperor was behind him, ruby robes collecting dirt from the old floor. Four soldiers flanked him. “I have every reason to believe the Lady sold me lies, Your Highness.”
It happened too quick. Too fast.
The Emperor studied you, Steve’s hands still on your face as you stood too close, ready to kiss, ready to fulfil something neither of you were sure of. It felt catalytic.
“Seize him,” was all the Emperor said, one lazy flick of his wrist sending all four guards at you both.
There was too much movement in the tiny room, bottles of medicinal wares clattering to the ground and smashing at your feet. The table groaned as Steve was shoved into it, his own reactions too slow from his injuries. He grunted and reached for you too late, his hand slipping from your own, fingers barely touching, as he was shoved at from either side.
One soldier shoved the butt of his sword into Steve’s wounded soldier, the other bringing his armoured knee into his bare stomach. The gladiator doubled over, a gasp leaving his chest before he fell to his knees on the stone floor.
“Stop this!” You yelled, urging forward, trying your best to throw yourself into the mix of it all but someone’s arms - another soldier - caught your round the middle. “Unhand him! Your Highness - please - he hasn’t done any wrong, please—”
The Emperor just looked at you blankly before he picked at the jewels around your neck. He tutted, as if it were a shame, a waste. You could hear the shackles being placed back on the man, the low groan he gave as the metal was tightened around his sore wrists.
“He won,” you whispered, your voice low and choked. You were ready to beg. “Please, he won. He doesn’t deserve this—”
“I don’t like anyone else playing with my toys,” the Emperor interrupted. He said it like he was discussing what to have for lunch. “And my dear cousin doesn’t like anyone playing with his.” He motioned to the guards once more. “Take her back to her seat, where you make sure she stays. This isn’t any place for a Lady,” he told you mournfully.
You didn’t get to see what happened to the gladiator as you were escorted out of the room. But you did hear his yells when the door slammed shut, the dull thuds of impact that you were sure were on his already bruised and broken body. You hadn’t even told him your name, or that you dreamt of him too. That during your worst night terrors, he was the one that saved you.
When you reached the imperial box once more, your skirts dirtied from the sand, your face tear stricken, you felt broken. Like you’d been snapped in half, like someone had found that wound Steve had stitched up and pulled it apart again the seams. Like someone had ripped something important from you, half of your heart, perhaps.
You didn’t even notice that it had stopped raining. The skies were blue once more, the sun shining, the only evidence of the sudden storm were the drops of rain that had soaked into the pillow on your chair.
Steve was gone and the thunder was too.

___
Sure, the drinking and the dancing is a good way to pass the time, but you’re partial to the end-of-night rituals you and Steve have settled into over the years. Your personal afterparty usually involves a shitty romcom, occasionally some weed, and always snacks both sweet and salty to soak up the alcohol.
Steve’s parents are out of town again, so the two of you are down in the basement den, passing a joint between fingers sticky with candy film.
From all your years of reading Steve’s body language you can tell he’s pretty high- feet planted on the ground but head lolling against the back of the couch, hands lax at his sides. There’s a dopey grin on his face- practically primed for a shitty joke or annoying comment- and you let the smoke out with a huff, asking on the exhale, “What?”
“You owe me five bucks.” Steve presses the side of his head into the couch, looking at you with red-rimmed eyes, still smiling.
You scoff, leaning in to pass the joint back and swiping a handful of gummy bears from the coffee table while you’re at it. “Since fucking when?”
“Since I bought this from Eddie.” Steve waves the weed for emphasis before taking another hit, smoke curling from his nostrils. “You’re matching me in pace, princess. This joint was ten bucks- ergo, you owe me five.”
You cackle despite yourself- “Ergo? You’ve been watching too many Perry Mason reruns.” You know Steve’s not actually gonna make you pay for the weed, he’s just trying to rile you up, and the fact that it’s not working is getting under his skin.
He shrugs a shoulder, just shy of pouting. “Point still stands.”
“Well, you shoulda let me buy from him. Eddie always gives me discounts. On account of these.” Here, you straighten your spine and gesture to your chest- after all the night’s activity, your boobs are practically spilling out of your bra and t-shirt combo, skin glowing in the muted TV’s light.
Steve blinks, clears his throat, and busies himself by ashing the joint into a spare candy wrapper. “Uh huh. Right. I’ll be sure to remember your tits the next time I’m talking to Munson.”
“At least someone will be thinking of them.” You mean it as a joke, but your voice is a bit too mournful to be taken lightly.
“Ah, and you’ve been picking such winners, recently,” Steve intones, dryly. The pillow launched at his head in your poor attempt to hit him is easily batted away. “C’mon, sweetheart. You’ve been going out with total losers. Aaron Conroy? Jamie Porter? Wouldn’t trust either of those guys to find their own dicks. Let alone your whole… business.”
Steve’s aborted gesture to the general area of your jeans makes you guffaw. “Oh, and you’re the reigning expert on girls’ business?”
“Sure am. King Steve, after all.” Said king juts an overeager thumb into his chest, winces, then gives his hand a little shake.
“Mmhm.” You slide across the couch cushions to take the joint again, knee knocking into Steve’s. “I’m pretty good at it too, y’know.”
Steve stares with wide eyes as you suck smoke into your lungs, blinking owlishly before stuttering- “You- you’re saying you’re pretty good at eating pu- at eating girls out?”
Another cackle looses from your chest along with the smoke, you can’t help it- Steve looks so properly shocked. “No, Steve, obviously I meant sucking dick. Not that I’d be opposed, per se, to a girl’s… business.”
The word drips in irony and Steve scrubs a hand down his face in irritation as you settle against the couch next to him, brushing shoulders as you continue. “Just aren’t enough girls in Hawkins to go for. Who are both out and not my friends,” you amend, before Robin can be dragged into the conversation against her will.
“You wouldn’t go down on a friend?” Steve fidgets a strip of paper Clark Bar wrapper between his fingers, crinkling quietly while he waits for your answer.
The weed has settled in your system now, a haze in your veins as you stub the roach out and leave it on the coffee table. You settle back into the couch, suddenly aware of every point of contact- thigh to thigh, arm to arm, shoulder to shoulder with Steve, who’s seemingly paused his breathing.
“Uhm. Yeah. I’d sleep with a friend,” you say, staring at your lap, empty hands twisting around themselves.
The tension of the moment swells, you can feel it in your chest, even as Steve draws in a breath to muse, “Wonder who’s better at it.”
“Eating girls out?” You look at him to confirm, feeling a pang when you see the lock of chestnut hair that’s flopped from its place to rest against his forehead. “I mean… probably you. Seeing as you’ve got the most experience.”
Steve smiles, lazily, tipping his head in acknowledgement, then says, “I could teach you. If you wanted.”
If Steve feels the way you stiffen in response to his words he doesn’t point it out, instead tossing the wrapper aside in favor of taking your hand into his. “Only if you wanted, though.”
You start nodding before the words can come; a shaky “Okay,” and Steve’s wrapping two warm palms around your right hand, manipulating your fingers into making a fist.
“I like to start with kissing,” he says, voice low, gaze fixed on your combined hands. “Y’know. To work her up, get her wet.”
It’s not even technically dirty talk, but the pitch of Steve’s words make your thighs clench involuntarily, seeking friction. Steve brings your hand to his mouth, pressing a kiss to the base of your thumb, and your breath hitches.
“And then I… usually…” Steve trails off, and you can see the gears turning in his head at how best to teach. Apparently, he pegs you for a hands-on learner, because instead of words, he dips down to lick a stripe up the flat of your thumb.
Your mouth falls open as Steve licks deftly into the crease made by your thumb and index finger, curling the point of his tongue near the base again, your clit throbbing in response as if he was actually between your legs.
Steve makes out with your hand for what feels like hours, all sense of time warped by the heady weed. His mouth is warm and wet, saliva dripping through to your palm as he holds you in place despite your squirming.
What’s really turning you on is how into this Steve appears to be- his eyes are closed as if to savor the moment, brow pinched with pleasure, little noises from the back of his throat sending vibrations down your arm.
You fight the urge to sink your free hand into those silky brown locks; instead, your nails bite into soft skin as you clench a fist at your side, willing the subtle movement of your hips with each stroke of Steve’s tongue to stay subtle.
There’s an obscene squelching noise filling the otherwise quiet basement, and this seems to spur Steve on, suckling at your sensitive skin, heat coursing through your body as you gasp out, “Steve…”
He pulls off your hand with a wet pop, a string of saliva still connecting you both, his mouth a glistening half-moon in the low light before he swipes the back of his hand across it. “So. Yeah. Something like that. You taste good, by the way. Sweet.”
You fight with the hinge of your lower jaw to put it back in its place, breathing heavily as you wipe your slick-coated hand against the leg of your jeans. It leaves a wet patch- likely not the only one, if the heartbeat between your legs is any indication. “Probably the gummy bears.”
“Uh huh. You think you’re any better?” Steve’s got that easy grin back on his face, cheeks rosy, lips flushed with color, too.
A quick glance down confirms that he’s hard as a rock, sizeable outline of his cock visible through the denim, betraying the bravado in his stance.
Oh, you’re gonna wreck him.
With an easy grin of your own, you reach for Steve’s hand. “Dunno. Wanna find out?”

𝐖𝐄'𝐑𝐄 𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐒 𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐘
Tumblr media
pairing: eddie munson x fem!reader
word count: 2.5k words
summary: in which it was a drunkenly suggested idea that actually didn’t sound too bad, and it was somehow easy to turn your friendship into something a little different. the hardest part should be keeping it a secret, but instead, it’s making sure that things don’t change more than they already have
warnings: explicit language, friends with benefits, sexual tension, implied smut, a lil angst
author’s note: first time writing for eddie (finally!) this is slightly based off the song “homegirl” by king princess. specifically the line “we’re friends at the party, i’ll give you my body at home.” more eddie stuff coming soon? eventually? maybe..?
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
From the beginning, you both had the same understanding of what this was.
Two friends having fun every once in a while. Two friends doing things that two people who were just friends wouldn’t do with one another. Two friends that wanted something completely and utterly not serious because they both had just gotten out of shitty relationships and weren’t in the right headspace to commit to anything.
You and Eddie agreed on it all.
And you two also agreed that you could never tell your friends about what you were doing.
You could only imagine the concerned and confused looks that would’ve been shared amongst them all if you and Eddie sat them down and told them about what had been happening for the past five months. Steve would think it was kinda weird and so random. Robin would say the same thing and also add that you two being each other’s rebounds would only mess things up within the friend group in the long run. Nancy would go on and on about how this was not the way that you two should’ve been coping with your respective break ups, etc, etc.
Neither of you wanted to hear any of it, so with hushed whispers and the linking of pinkies in the middle of the night— moments after you two had drunkenly made out in the bathroom of The Hideout and were debating on whether or not you should move things to the back of Eddie’s van that was parked right outside— this quickly became the best kept secret.
During group hangouts and other social situations, you and Eddie were just friends— nothing more, nothing less— but when you were alone, it was different.
In a way it was fucked up, and on some level you both could recognize that. Falling into each other’s beds most nights was definitely not a good way to cope and deal with everything, just like Nancy would’ve told you both, but so far it was working perfectly fine. And how easy and okay it all was— how it somehow never felt weird or wrong to flip that switch and change your friendship into what it now was— only sometimes confused you.
And just for a moment, as you and Eddie sat in his van outside of Steve’s house, you were hit with that confused feeling that also slightly surprised you. It was fleeting, as quick as it came it was washed away, and then it was forgotten.
“Come on,” You mumbled against his lips before fully pulling away. “We need to go inside before they think we got into a tragic car crash while going to get this fucking ice.”
“One more minute,” Was all Eddie said in response as his lips found your neck.
You savored the feeling for a second before your hands came up to his chest to softly push him away. “Nope, no way. Do not give me a hickey right now, Munson.”
He only laughed and you simply rolled your eyes at the sound as you opened the door and stepped out of his van. You headed to the back and Eddie followed suit, opening the doors so that you two could grab the ice that you’d been tasked with getting forty minutes earlier. You picked up one and he grabbed the other two, and then you pushed the doors back shut with your free hand.
“How you getting home tonight?” Eddie asked you. You knew what his question really meant— Are we going home together?
“Not sure yet. Might stay with Robin since it’s her birthday and she said she’s probably gonna just spend the night here. Or I’ll drive with Nance,” You answered, shoulders lifting in a small shrug.
Neither of those things would end up happening, you knew that you’d probably be leaving here with Eddie in a few hours. But it was nice to tease him right then, push his buttons a bit.
He only smiled at you, easily reading through the bullshit laced within your words, and was completely okay with playing along. “Okay, got it. I guess I don’t have to worry about bringing you home.”
“Guess not.”
You two were already standing in front of Steve’s front door, but you simply held Eddie’s gaze for a few beats longer, the smallest smile playing on your lips, before you pushed the door open and the teasing conversation immediately became drowned out by the music.
Steve waved you both over to the kitchen. “Finally, you’re back.”
“There was some traffic,” Eddie told him and Steve surprisingly didn’t question the excuse— even though there being traffic in Hawkins was an insanely far-fetched statement to make.
You handed the bag of ice in your hand over to Steve, which he put in the freezer and then he and Eddie poured the others in the coolers that sat on top of his kitchen island that had beers and sodas in them.
You were about to walk away— see if you could find Robin, maybe wish her happy birthday for the third time tonight— but Steve slung an arm around you before you could. “I need you to be my beer pong partner.”
“Y’know, Steven, I don’t think it can really be considered as a partnership if I’m the one doing all of the work to make us win,” You said, but still let him drag you to the table littered with red solo cups anyway.
Two rounds of beer pong later, both of which you and Steve— mainly you— won, you were slightly tipsy. Definitely nowhere near drunk enough to do the karaoke that was set up in the living room, like Robin, Vickie, and Nancy. Although you did enjoy their very theatrical and soulful performance of Somebody to Love by Queen.
However, you were just the right amount of tipsy to smile when you spotted Eddie through the throngs of people, smoking weed on the couch and talking to Gareth. A part of you wanted to walk over and settle yourself in his lap, but thank God your thinking was still somewhat logical and you reminded yourself that you couldn’t do that.
Instead, you settled for sitting on the arm of the couch and feet resting on the dark cushion, close enough to Eddie but not so much that it would raise a thousand alarm bells by your friends if they saw you two right then. He looked up at you for a brief second, giving you a small smile that practically melted your insides, and you were the one who had to pull your eyes away from his first.
A silent conversation played out in a matter of seconds— he held the joint out toward you in offering, not even breaking the conversation with Gareth as he did so, and you grabbed it, taking a long drag before handing it back to him.
You were only half-paying attention to what they were talking about, some new horror movie that you hadn’t gotten around to seeing yet. All you could really focus on was Eddie moving a bit and leaning against your legs.
It wasn’t something that was entirely un-innocent— you could’ve easily pictured Robin or Steve or Nancy doing the same thing— but coming from Eddie it nearly drove you insane, and you had a feeling that he knew that. It was always the simplest of touches that made you essentially fold for him, when he’d place a hand on your knee whenever you were in the passenger seat of his van or when his hand would find the small of your back whenever you were at The Hideout and surrounded by way too many people.
And it was especially easy to fold when you weren’t fully sober.
You looked down at him and noticed the smirk on his face and you had to hold back your eye roll. If he was going to tease you, you were willing to do the same back.
You abruptly got up from the couch. “I’m gonna go to the bathroom.”
You didn’t wait for his response before you started walking away, but you hoped that he picked up on the request that was hidden beneath your words.
The first floor bathroom was luckily empty and you flicked on the light as you closed the door behind you and faced the mirror above the sink. You were only looking at yourself for a brief second before the door opened and you turned around to face Eddie.
The same fucking smirk was on his face as he pushed the door closed and locked it behind him and then immediately reached out for you. “C’mere.”
“Mm-mm.” You shook your head as you stepped back away from him. “I just wanted to talk.”
He let out a small laugh at that. “Okay, yeah, let’s talk.”
You leaned back against the sink and looked up at him. “So, what was that movie you and Gareth were talking about?”
He stepped closer to you, closing a bit of the small distance between you two. “A dumb horror movie.”
It was hard to ignore the feeling of his hands coming up to your waist, but you still did so anyway and you didn’t push him away. “Okay, so I shouldn’t go see it?”
Eddie only shook his head no in response. He started slowly rubbing your sides, his warm touch practically burning a hole in the dark high-waisted jeans you were wearing.
“Do you have any recommendations?” You asked as your arms came up to loosely circle his neck. “I wanna watch something I haven’t seen before.”
He didn’t answer your question that time around and instead leaned in to kiss you. But, you turned your head at the last second and he groaned into your neck, which only made you smile.
“We can watch any movie you want right now if you let me take you home,” He mumbled, lips humming against your neck.
“I have a feeling that we wouldn’t be watching the movie if that happened,” You said and held back your laughter at the second groan he let out. “And besides, we can’t leave yet. The cake hasn’t been cut and we haven’t even sung happy birthday. Don’t you remember how birthday parties work, Munson?”
“Your pretty face is making it really hard to remember anything, sweetheart,” He told you, pulling away and a hand came up to stroke your cheek. The cool feeling of the rings on his fingers brushing your skin was a nice contrast to the burn of your cheeks.
Things had been changing recently, a shift that neither of you wanted to acknowledge just yet; maybe because it was hard to tell what exactly was changing. And so, things kept continuing as it was.
You shook your head a little and let out a small laugh. “Always such a charmer.”
That time when he leaned in to slot his lips against yours, you didn’t turn your head away.
“Only for you,” He playfully whispered against your lips.
He pulled back before either of you could even think about making the kiss deeper and he looked at you so sweetly. You suddenly wished that the light was off and it was dark right then so that you didn’t have to see his face.
That confused feeling was back, and you finally understood what it meant. It hit you so abruptly and harshly, it almost felt like you were finally being shaken awake to what was so obvious. You liked him— more than just a friend, more than you ever let yourself think before. And you almost instantaneously came to the conclusion that this, the way you were feeling, was entirely one-sided.
When this first started, it was because both of you were essentially embracing that old saying of “if you wanna get over someone, get under someone else,” and it worked for you. And it wasn’t just the sex, it was the half-awake pillow talk moments after and listening to music in his van as you two sat outside your house when he was dropping you off that meant the most to you, that helped you actually get over your ex and his shittiness. But, you didn’t think that it was the same way for Eddie.
He loved his ex, anyone with two eyes could see that. And he still loved her, more so than he let on, and that felt like something only you could see. The longing look on his face whenever he talked about her to you, the nostalgic smile he’d get whenever he mentioned something good about how they used to be. It was obvious how he still felt.
And just like that, the spell that you’d been cast under in this moment was broken.
You let out the smallest sigh and detangled yourself from him, letting your arms fall to your sides.
He looked at you, confused. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” Maybe everything. “I’m gonna get some water.”
You were pulling yourself out of his grasp and brushing past him toward the door, but Eddie’s hand found yours before you could twist the lock.
Reluctantly, you met his eyes and his voice was soft as he spoke. “You can tell me anything, remember?”
A few minutes ago that felt entirely true, now you weren’t so sure, but you still nodded anyway. “I know.”
“So, what happened in the last thirty seconds?”
A part of you wanted to say it. A part of you wanted to be honest with him.
But, you couldn’t.
Because you were convinced of what the outcome would be if you did— you could already imagine the sad and pitying look that would cross his face and essentially say it all. If you told the truth in this moment, it would fuck up your friendship and it would fuck up what you two had turned your friendship into. Therefore, you came to the quick decision that you could bury it all down for however long you needed to so that you didn’t mess anything up.
You bypassed Eddie’s question and instead closed the newfound space between you two, pushing yourself up on your toes and pressing your lips against his. The kiss was different this time around, it was no longer soft and teasing. It was deeper, more needy and desperate, and Eddie reciprocated in a matter of seconds. He turned you both around so that you were pressed up against the sink again and he immediately lifted you onto it, barely detaching from your lips in the process.
If the circumstances were different, you would’ve fully let him do whatever he wanted to do to you in this bathroom. But, things wouldn’t go farther than this in here; not in Steve’s house, not with your friends just down the hall.
When you pulled away to catch your breath, your lips brushed against his ear as you spoke. “I want you to take me home tonight.”
The smile Eddie gave you made your heart constrict in your chest. It almost made you want to blurt out how you were feeling right then because maybe just maybe he actually did feel the same.
But, of course, you didn’t say anything. You had another secret to keep and you would force yourself to be entirely okay with that.

Two kings masterlist
<< Prologue
Tumblr media
Fifty years ago, in the year 2000, …
After the war was won, the royals formed a bond.
It was agreed that they would never raise their weapons against each other.
There was a price to pay. It was the one everyone agreed to pay.
There can only be one son in a family. A firstborn child. The heir.
Second sons must die if they are born.
No one has dared to break this law so far. No one…
Tumblr media
Now, in the year 2050, … age of nine, …
It’s been two years since you first met the prince. You and Steven became friends over the years and exchanged letters on a regular basis.
Two weeks ago, he came back.
It’s time to get to know him even better. One day, when you are both at age, you are going to become his queen.
“This place is very beautiful,” the prince says as he walks next to you and your mother. “I cannot wait to show you my homeland. Brooklyn is beautiful in spring.”
Your nose wrinkles as you think, "Hmm...I've never been far away from home." It’s only a matter of time before you must leave your home to live with your husband. The prince of Brooklyn. "My homeland is beautiful all the time. Even in winter.”
The prince nods thoughtfully at your words. “Did you ever read about the old world?” He glances at you. “I wonder if the invention they called the internet was useful. A shame the world war happened. We lost so much.”
“I heard that factories, technology, and cars almost destroyed this world. We can’t change what happened, my prince. All we can do is accept the world we are living in and do our very best to never start a war again.”
“Maybe you are right," the prince’s cheek twitches as he watches two boys chase each other around the garden. He watches them with darkened eyes, and his posture changes.
“They look like brothers,” he grumbles. “It’s forbidden to have two male children.”
“My prince,” your mother finally speaks. She was watching you interact with the prince but now, she steps in, “we do not allow two male children in one family. They are cousins, I assure you.”
“Cousins,” he nods, but he keeps on watching the boys. “I hope you do not lie, your highness. You know the law.”
Stomping your right foot, you say, "You're impolite. What’s wrong with you? You are not the boy I met two years ago. All you do is nag and you didn’t even hold my hand…”
You run off, sniffling as your mother calls your name. “I’m sorry, my prince. She’s just having a bad day. One of her favorite kittens is sick.” She sighs as you won’t wait for her and the prince.
“I don’t mind,” the prince clears his throat. “I must apologize, your highness. I forgot my manners. I just heard about so many second sons getting killed. I lost my temper. Please forgive me.”
“There is nothing to forgive, my prince,” your mother whisperes in a soft voice. “We are blessed with a daughter. If I conceive another child, we won’t have to kill him.”
It is important for your mother not to reveal how much she dislikes his outburst. You are right. The prince has changed over the last two years.
“May I apologize to the princess, your highness? I don’t want her to be mad at me.”
Your mother urges the prince to follow you, "of course. She likes you a lot. All the letters you wrote. She cherishes every single one. Especially the last one. She loved the bird you drew.”
“She did?” He gasps. “I wasn’t sure…I mean…it’s not my best drawing,” the prince sheepishly admits. “I was afraid she'd laugh about it.”
Tumblr media
“Princess?” The prince enters your room, calling your name. “I wanted to apologize. Your mother said it was okay to enter your room.”
“Oh, hi,” you nervously stammer. “What do you want?” You glance at the wall plastered with all the drawings the prince sent to you over the last two years.
“You put the bird on the wall too,” he walks toward the wall to look at all the drawings he sent to you. “And the frog!”
“Yeah, they are so adorable. Different from the others but cute,” you hum as the prince points to the frog he drew for you. “I like cute things.”
“I know you do,” he says grinning. “Last time you sent me a pressed flower. I put it in my favorite book.”
“You did,” you grab his hand and squeeze it tightly. “Do you…do you want to see my collection of books? We can go to the library.”
"Y/N," he says, "I'd really like that. I’m glad to be here and finally see you…again.”
"I'm glad you're here with me," you say, pecking his cheek. "I like you too..." you add.

THE LINE—
Tumblr media
pairings: steve harrington x henderson!reader
1 — part 2 coming soon…
words: 3.6k
Summary: You realize the line between love and hate is very thin as you babysit and monster hunt alongside Steve Harrington.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leaning pathetically against your locker, you banged your head against the metal, tugging on the end of your cheerleading skirt that got caught in the door when you slammed it shut. It’s your fault really, you were so happy to get it open for once. Of course, it had to be too good to be true.
“Need some help with that?”
Your lips swerved into a smile at the familiar voice, leaning away from your locker to look at one of your favorite girls.
“Yes, Nancy. Please!” you pleaded, laughing as the girl stepped forward, easily opening your locker door, not even needing to ask the combination from the amount of times she’s had to open it.
Nancy Wheeler smiled smugly when your locker opened, releasing you and your skirt.
Nancy had been one of your best friends since you moved to Hawkins along with Chrissy Cunningham and Heather Holloway. At twelve years old, you were anxious, but to your surprise, extremely charismatic. You found friends like wildflowers, something you loved, but Nancy was one of the best. She was like a rose, beautiful and smart, something that drew you to her in the first place.
“My savior! How could I ever repay you?” you joked, mocking a princess before laughing at your own joke, tugging your books tighter to your hip.
Nancy grimaced. “Well,” she started, and your brows furrowed, making you feel uneasy, “Firstly, by not being too mad…”
Nancy shoved a note in your face. You squinted reading the words that alert you that King fucking Steve was waiting for your best friend in the bathroom, wanting to make out. Gross.
“Ew,” you stated, playful smile turning into a pout. Your shoulders slumped, concern kicking in rather than disgust. “Harrington? Really, Nance? You could do so, so much better.”
To you, Steve Harrington was the worst person at Hawkins high. A real player who had absolutely no consideration for anyone’s feeling but his own and his stupid little posse. Generally a piece of shit.
“You owe me,” she mutters, shrugging her shoulder to try to rid her mind of what you were implying, what she had already been anxious about.
“I just think it’s a bad idea,” you say softly, trying not to hurt the poor girls feelings, but really you were just trying to help.
“And why’s that?” she asks, on the defensive.
You shake your head, holding yourself back from rolling your eyes. “He’s a bad idea,” you state simply. “He treats girls like shit and you know better to accept that.”
“You don’t know him.”
“I know that he dumped Charlotte after he had sex with her,” you offered, looking at her with a raised brow. Nancy rolls her eyes.
“Well, that’s Charlotte. And I’m going to see him,” she announces, a little like she’s singing.
Sighing disappointedly, the bell rings in your ears. Great, you’re late.
You give Nancy a look already walking backwards towards your first period. “Make good decisions. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!”
“You wouldn’t go out with him the first place!” she calls back, looking at you with a playful expression.
“Exactly.” You smile, finally turning around and heading to your class. When you fully turn, your smile disappears.
Something about Steve makes you anxious, fills your body with unease whenever you two make eye contact when your both at your lockers. You hate the way he smiles smugly at you. And you hate that he’s going after another one of your friends, the fear of her getting hurt makes your stomach ache.
This time, if he hurts her, you hurt him.
And that’s exactly what happened.
You were on your evening walk, frowning at the missing poster you see of Will Byers, your little brother’s best friend and Johnathan Byers, one of your best friends, brother. It’s a saddening sight, especially since the young boy’s funeral. Absolutely heartbreaking.
Frustration is throbbing through your body. You feel helpless, unable to find the boy despite having helped put up posters and searched through the woods countlessly.
You were also angry with yourself for allowing your brother out of the house when you heard the news, letting him and his friends set out in search for him themselves because your heart ached looking into your brother’s teary eyes as he begged you not to tell mom that you caught him sneaking out.
It was stupid, that you told him to keep his walking on him, stay with his friends, and to stay safe or you’d fucking kill him. You’re a shitty sister.
You were an idiot. An idiot people pleaser who never knew when to say no to her friends and family. It was stupid that when your empathetic heart feels their pain you resort to the worse stress reliever, and contradictory to your guilty conscience, violence.
“Harrington, you better get your ass down from that ladder right now!”
You saw him from a mile away, the words spray painted on the movie theatre that you would always take your brother and his friends. The only thing you could make out of it was that Steve fucking Harrington was caught defaminating one of your best friend’s names while vandalizing the cinema.
Steve’s eyes went wide at the sight of you, the beautiful girl who ignored and criticized his every move. His ex-girlfriends best friend. His heart raced at your angry expression. His cheeks probably got a little red too.
“Henderson, what the hell are you doing here?” he asked, sponge pausing its movement to look down at you. Steve had completely forgotten what it looked like had happened, oblivious to everything else around him, his entire focus on you. His fake innocence only made you angrier.
Ignoring his question, you fumed, “Get your ass down or I’m pushing you off this damn ladder!”
Steve’s eyes widened as he muttered curses under his breath, quickly climbing down from the ladder. You pretended that seeing his face bloody and bruised didn’t make your stomach ache.
“Jesus, what your pro—,” You shoved him, and he stumbled back, arms stretched out as his back hits the ladder, “blem!”
“You wrote this? You called Nancy a slut?!”
You pushed him again, and he stumbled again, still looking at you like you’re crazy. He caught your wrists when you went to push him again.
Your hands were held at his chest, pulling you into his chest despite how you try to plant your feet, to stay away from him. Steve still has an bizzare look on his face as he looks down at you, cheeks pink and he’s slightly out of breathe from how he scrambled to grab your wrists.  Steve rapidly shakes his head, blurting, “What? No! No, I didn’t!”
You let out a scoff, nodding sarcastically as if you believed him. “So… you just cleaning it up? Bullshit,” you spit, and Steve looks almost hurt by your insinuation.
“Yes! “ He announced, running a hand through his hair when you tugged your wrists free. “I didn’t write this!”
Crossing your arms over your chest, you looked at him accusingly, like he was stupid. “Then who did, Harrington?”
“Tommy.”
“Oh, you’re best friend!” you exclaimed, “That totally makes so much of a difference.”
“No, Henderson, — I.” He groaned. He glanced around, breathing out of his mouth before he pinched his nose. “I should’ve stopped him, I know, but I’m cleaning this up now. I’m trying to fix it.”
“Because you got caught?”
“No! I just—,” he shook his head. “I’m not… friends with those assholes anymore. I just wanna help.”
Really? you thought to yourself. Your nose scrunched as you scanned him up and down for a second with repulsion. He’s not friends with Tommy and Carol anymore? That’s hard to believe.
Your interrogation seemed never ended, and you still had the urge to punch him in the face despite the cuts and bruises that stand prominent on his handsome face. You wet your lips, ignoring your natural concern and continuing. “Help? Help what?”
“I wanna apologize,” he said. “To Nance.”
“Really?” you deadpanned.  Steve arms waved wildly before he poked to fingers into his forehead, closing his eyes.
“Yes, I’m sorry. Is it that hard to believe?”
“Yeah, it is, King Steve,” you scoffed, before you let your thoughts slip into your words. You switch your footing, voice quieting ever so slightly when you ask, “What happened to your face?”
He paused.
“Byers,” Steve replied embarrassed, not even looking at you as your eyes widen.
“Really?” You sound surprised, and you are. The boy who’s been the nicest to you, one of your best friends ever since you’d gotten to town. Your babysitting buddy. The boy who’s brother was missing.
“Johnathan did that?” You ask. When he nods, you hum. “You deserved it.”
“I know.”
Humming, you look at Steve for a second, checking out his bloodied face and red knuckles. Next to his foot is the sponge he was using, it’s turning red and it looks like it’s decomposing from overuse. It makes you clear your throat when you catch his eyes again.
Quietly, almost whispering, you ask, “Do you love her?” You gulp, specifying, “Nancy?”
He sighed, and he looked at you for a good minute, clearly contemplating. Truth be told, he didn’t know. She was… different from his other girlfriend.
Steve would be lying to himself if he said that he didn’t like you. He knew he did, since last year and you walked in wearing a pretty little sundress and gave him attitude when he offered to be your prince charming and open your locker. Maybe he liked Nancy a lot, but he didn’t know if you could love someone and stare at their best friend when their back was turned.
He swallowed, shrugging. “I don’t know.”
You don’t like him. You don’t like him. You don’t like him.
Steve’s word make you nod to yourself, ignoring the relief you feel that he’s not in love with her for Nancy’s sake. Clearly, Steve was a shitty teenage boy, and even worse boyfriend, but you believed in change.
“You really want to make things right?” you question, still trying to keep your guard up despite how you feel them crashing down around you. Goddammit, you hate Steve Harrington.
“Yes,” he groaned, meaningfully.
In your head, you were screaming. Blood curdling, a homicide victim type of screaming, and it’s so loud, so so freaking loud that you couldn’t hear your own thoughts. Maybe, that’s why you make a dumb decision.
You shrug, already turning around to start walking. “Okay, then. Let’s go.”
“Wait, what? Where?”
“To go see Nancy,” you scoffed, as if it was common knowledge. Impatiently, you said, “Come on, I don’t want to be seen with you.”
You trudged forward, once white sneakers thumping against the sidewalk. Behind you, you can hear Steve jog forward, eager to catch up with you.
It doesn’t take long, but the moment he’s beside you, words spill from his lips, quickly. “I— I have my car.”
Pausing in your step, you begrudgingly looked at Steve, quite relieved that you don’t have to walk all the way to Jonathan’s house. “Okay. Where?”
“Over here,” Steve says, almost out of breath as he points to his car. You head towards it without a second thought, harshly pulling on his passenger car door and glaring at him when it doesn’t open.
Steve looks at you strangely, kinda of afraid of you, and he puts his key in before opening the door for you. You don’t look at him, not even when he gets inside the driver seat and starts the car, too busy staring out the window.
“Do you, um, want any music?” Steve stutters, looking at you hesitantly. You roll your eyes.
“You not talking is enough for me,” you smile, sarcastically.
“Oh,” Steve deadpans, biting his lips at he turns away from you, ready to drive.
Great, now you feel bad. You offer, “What do you have?”
“Yeah— yeah, I have Beat It, some AC/DC, Uptown Girl—
“Uptown Girl, please,” you cut him off.  Your casual manners make Steve blush. You don’t even notice that you said it, and it reminds Steve how good you are. You were solid good.
A good girl.
A nice girl.
And one who wants nothing to do with him.
Go figure.
Steve realizes how fucked up his mind is as his knuckles turn white on the stirring wheel. He starts to drive, listening to you hum while starring out the window, sometimes cutting yourself off to tell him directions to Jonathan’s house.
When he asked why there, you said that he had to apologize to Jonathan first. He listens to you for reasons he could not comprehend, because he found himself trusting you despite how much you must hate because he knows you.
In the hallways, he’d watched you tell freshmen directions, laugh on your way to class, help kids who would drop things. You’d barely notice the boys that trailed after you that you thought were only friends, and he’d watch you scold them whenever they were mean to some freak, or nerd, or geek, in the halls.
You were nice. The nicest girl at that damn school, and unbeknownst to you, The Queen Of Hawkins High.
He can’t keep his eyes off you, and he’s never felt guiltier. He let his friend call his girlfriend a slut while he was yearning to kiss her best friend on the way to apologize to her. There was something wrong with him. Steve shook his head, letting his eyes part from you and focus on the road.
The drive was slow, but the moment the car parked in the Byers’ driveway, you were quick to usher Steve out.
“Go,” you wave.
“What?” Steve’s heart races. “Right— right now?”
“When else?” you blink.
“Shouldn’t we rehearse something?”
You sigh, holding back a much needed eye roll. A fake smile props on your lips. “‘Jonathan, I’m sorry for fighting you in the middle of the street. That one’s on me,’” you say. “‘Oh, and I feel bad for smashing your camera to little bits. How about I buy you a new one with my daddy’s money?’” You drop your smile. “That good?”
“The camera wasn’t my fault,” he justified.
“I know, I was there. Still, that doesn’t make what you did right, so get out of the car and apologize,” you punctuated.
Steve mouth gaped. Then, he begrudgingly unbuckles his seat belt and grumbles under his breath, stepping out the vehicle. He slams the car door shut.
You snorted a laugh, sinking into Steve’s comfy car seats.
From where your sat, you have a clear viewing of the show. You’re not sure whether or not Jonathan will forgive him. Apart of you hopes he doesn’t. You wouldn’t be surprised if he did.
What did surprise you was watching Steve, under the warm yellow glow from the Byers house lights, pound on the door and then eventually force his way in.
Hastily, you trailed after him, leaves crunching under your quick feet.
“Steve!” you called once in the door way. “This wasn’t what we talked about…”
The words died in your throat as your eyes scattered across the room, the sight of Jonathan, a shit ton of weapons his living room table and Nancy with a gun pointed at Steve’s face had you had you bewildered.
“You two need to leave now!” Jonathan said, but you were more focused on Nancy’s count down, gun still pointed at Steve.
Before you could think, you were shoving yourself in between Steve, Jonathan, and the gun, hand raised in defense. The mass of Christmas lights around you flickered briskly with your final shout, “What is going on?”
Few words between Nancy and Jonathan end with Steve Harrington, grabbing your wrist and dragging you down the hall into a bedroom as a venus-flytrap looking bear rips apart the ceiling.
“What the hell was that,” Steve yelled along with a variety of curses.
“Shut up!” Nancy and Jonathan shouted, synchronized.
You and Steve shared a feared look.
Pounds and gurgles erupt from the other side of the door until they suddenly stopped. In the silence, Nancy and Jonathan exit the room, Steve and you right behind them.
“Are you going to tell us what that was?” you rasped desperately.
Nancy’s reply was short. “A demogorgon.”
You recognized that name. “Like—,” you brows pinched together. “From DnD?”
“That’s what the boys said.”
“The boys,” you repeated. “Like Dustin, Lucas, and Mike? They know about this?”
“Look, Y/N, I’m sorry but we don’t have time for the questions. It’s going to come back, and you two,” she gestures to you and Steve, “need to leave. Right now.”
Breathing heavy, and with the shake of your head, you said, “No.”
“Yes, go,” Nancy said, stepping closer. You were the same height, she couldn’t intimidate you, not even with a gun in her hand. You weren’t going to leave, especially because of the newfound fear of that thing going after your brother.
“Y/N,” Steve tried, eager for the door.
“No, you go,” you said to Steve then turned to Nancy, “I’m staying so either let me help kill it or I’ll stand here and be bait.”
“Fine,” Nancy said.
Jonathan threw you a lighter. “Throw this into the carpet when it’s here.”
Steve felt pathetic watching the three of you. He didn’t want to leave and be a coward, but he didn’t want to die either. One thought over powered the other and he sprinted to his car, but seeing rapid flickering lights, he forced himself back inside.
After swinging a crowbar at the demogorgon and watching it swallow it whole, you were sure you were going to die. You fell back, squeaking in despair as you did so. The demogorgon’s mouth widen, and you may have gotten a little teary eyed at the sight of Jonathan and Nancy on the floor, looking helpless as well.
But to your shock, Steve Harrington jumped in front of you, swinging a bat like he hadn’t quit baseball in seventh grade.
What happened next was blur, but you remember Steve Harrington forcing you to your feet and the sight of a demogorgon enveloped in flames.
With shallow breaths, you sat on the wooden porch in front of the Byers’ house, illuminated by a singular warm lantern, recollecting the previous events. Mind racing, you hardly notice the body next to yours.
Well, until, and hand landed on your shoulder. It’s large, much bigger than your own. Your eyes traced the arm up to its owner, seeing a bloody, concerned face staring back at you.
“You okay?” Steve asked, and your heart swelled the slightest bit at his worry. He had just almost killed himself and he was worried about you.
Your eyebrows twitched, the undying desire to hate him still present. “Yeah,” you choked, “I’m fine.”
Steve nodded. He retracted the hand off your shoulder slowly, which you were grateful for. Nancy and Johnathan’s dull chatter filled the void, the four of you too nerved to fully close the front door.
Clearing your throat, you said, not looking at him. “Thank you for — um — saving my life.”
When Steve spoke, you turned to him. “Anybody would’ve done the same.”
“No they wouldn’t have,” you said, entire body angling towards him. You kept your hands in your lap, tediously explaining, “They would’ve ran for the hills, like you should’ve, but you didn’t. So thanks. I owe you one.”
“Don’t mention it,” he griped, but you shook your head with a scoff, readjusting yourself to look straight forward. You went silent again. Not far from you, you can hear the engine of a car, smell the toxic carbon monoxide polluting the air.
Steve Harrington saved your life. King Steve Harrington saved your life.
Laughing to yourself, you eyed Steve carefully. “I never would’ve taken you for a hero, Harrington.”
“Guess you were wrong,” Steve chuckled. His eyes shone particularly bright in the moonlight.
“Mhm,” you hummed, looking to your lap, “maybe about a lot of things too.”
You hadn’t known why you said that. Steve’s lips parted at your words, a dumbfounded look forming on his face.
“Y/N!”
Immediately, your head whipped to the noise. Your eyes widened with recognition to the voice. “Dustin!” you shouted, voice echoing off the trees in question.
A car pulled up, and in the back windows you could see three smiling faces in the window.
Smiling. They’re okay, you told yourself. And free to yell.
“You boys are so lucky.” The words came out forced, a quiver in your voice at the pure relief you feel, rushing to the boys off the porch and watching the three of them exit the car safely. “You could’ve gotten yourselves killed,” you snapped. “Why didn’t you told me?”
Only after you spoke did you notice their red rimmed eyes.
Your lips twitched into a frown. Swallowing back your own tears, you pulled Dustin, Lucas, and Mike into a hug. “I’m so glad you all are okay.”
Vaguely, blue and red flashing lights pull up onto the driveway of the Byers’ house. Police step out their car with questioning looks. It’s not long before one offers to take you and your brother home.
Glancing behind you, Steve Harrington’s eyes found yours swiftly, as if they had been trained to you this entire time. Hesitantly, you raised your hand, not very high, but just visibly for him to see. You gave Steve a small wave.
He smiled at you, and you were sure that it hurt.

<Part 28< >Series Masterlist>

Something shifted behind you slowly teasing you from your peaceful slumber. Then you felt something warm and wet press against your shoulder, lightly moving across your skin, sending shivers down your spine as you remembered, Steve. He pulled you closer to him until your back was flush against his firm chest.
"G'mornin', Princess." Steve murmured against your ear in a husky tone.
"Morning," You whispered and looked back to him over your shoulder with a tired smile.
"How do you feel, My love?" Steve asked as he pressed another kiss to your shoulder.
You hummed, "Happy." You smiled as you felt Steve smile against your neck where he was kissing you. "What time is it?" You asked turning over in his arms so you were facing him.
He smiled, "Don't worry about that, My love." He said as he gently cupped your face with his left hand and pressed his lips against yours.
You moaned softly against his lips as you felt his hardening cock press against your thigh. You gave a small roll of your hips, desperate to feel more of him as memories of your escapades from last night flooded your mind.
You pushed Steve back by his chest and caught your breath as an idea came to you. "Hmm, Steven... may I... Use my mouth on you, again?" You asked feeling your cheeks flush.
Steve's smile grew, "You're getting bolder, My love." He teased making you roll your eyes.
"I don't have too, Steven." You pouted.
"No, no," Steve pushed himself up in bed so he was sat up against the head board and spread his legs, holding the bed covers up. He nodded, "Please your king." He winked at you.
You rolled your eyes and giggled, "Really, Steven." You eagerly moved between his legs and came face to face with Steve's glorious cock. You licked your lips as you took him in your hand, glancing up at Steve as he let out a soft moan. His head falling back against the pillows as you did.
You may be inexperienced, but watching Steve fall apart because of you in such an intimate way was just so beautiful to you and it was becoming one of your favorite sights. Although, you were getting tired of Steve being able to make you blush so easily. How you wished you could see his cheeks tinted with a blush as he looked away from you shyly, like he had done the previous night when the two of you-
You began grinning to yourself as an idea filled your head. "My gods," You hummed and gently began to teased his cock with your fingers, "You are so beautiful, My darling husband."
Steve gulped, his throat dry as he met your gaze. "Not as beautiful as-" His words died on his tongue and were replaced with a breathy gasp as you placed a kiss to the tip of his cock. "My love," His eyes fell shut and his mouth dropped open as you lightly ran your tongue over him.
You let out a soft moan as the taste of him began to drive you wild. You ran your tongue up and down his length, circling around his bulbous head before sliding it back down.
Steve groaned, "Please, My love."
You used the hand that held his cock to lightly stroke him as you pulled away from him. "Look at your queen," You ordered with a new found confidence.
Steve gulped as he looked at you. Once your eyes met, you gave him a playful grin and wrapped your lips around the tip of him.
"Fuck," He watched as your head bobbed up and down, your lips and tongue sliding up and down his cock, "Feels s'good. Don't fuckin' stop." Steve's head fell back against the pillows as a deep moan fell from his lips.
You moaned around Steve's cock as you looked up at him, the dishevelled look he had as he ran his fingers through his hair turning you into a mess.
"Fuck," Steve panted, "My love..." Steve groaned loudly as you did something he never thought you would, you pulled your mouth of his cock and began to suck lightly on his balls. Steve threw his head back with a loud moan as you continued to move your hand up and down his cock and suck his balls. "Fuck!"
You pulled off his sack with a giggle, "Did you like that, Your Majesty?" You asked as you reached up and used your hand to fondle his balls.
Steve panted heavily as he nodded. "Please, don't stop, My love." He whimpered.
You took Steve into your mouth once more and started to suck a little harder and faster.
A deep moan left Steve's mouth as you started to twist your hand around his shaft, "Fuck! Oh fuck. Don't stop!" Steve groaned and began to raise his hips to meet your mouth. "Fuck! Princess... My love, I'm going to-" Steve cried out as he came.
Pride filled your chest as you watched your king, your husband, the man you loved, fall apart by your touch.
You pulled off him carefully and wiped your mouth as you sat up, pushing the covers off you. "How was that, My darling husband?" You smirked at him.
Steve lifted his head from where it rested and looked up at you, "You know damn well how that was." He smirked back at you as he grabbed you by the waist and pulled you into his lap. "Now it's-" A knock on the chamber doors interrupted Steve making him growl in frustration. "Go away!" He yelled back before pressing hia face into your chest.
"Steven," You scolded him playfully, "We should see whom it is." You cupped his face in your hands.
Steve groaned, "I'd rather we didn't." He said and kissed down between your breasts making your breath hitch. Another knock made him groan against you. "Bastards." He muttered and moved you beside him. "COME!" He yelled out in frustration as he covered the two of you.
The door opened slowly and in walked Jarvis, the Steward, followed by a couple of servants carrying trays of food and drink.
"Good morning, Your Majesty, Your Highness." Jarvis bowed to the two of you as the servants placed the trays down on the table before bowing themselves and leaving. "I thought you'd like breakfast in your room this morning before I sent in your Lords and Ladies to help you get dressed for the day." He smiled.
"Thank you, Lord Jarvis... But, actually," Steve cleared his throat, "If it's okay with you, My love," Steve smiled at you, "I'd rather we dressed ourselves this morning."
You raised your eyebrow at him, "But I'll need help putting my dress on."
"I know, but I can help with it." He said as he began grinning and leaned in, "After I've had you naked and writhing beneath me for as long as possible this morning." He whispered in your ear making you gasp.
You nodded, "It's, fine with me." You looked back over to Jarvis trying not to blush too much as you gave a shy smile. "Hmm... Perhaps, you could have someone draw a bath and inform our Lords and Ladies to take the morning off."
Jarvis nodded. "Of course, Your Highness. I'll leave you to your breakfast." He said as he bowed to you before leaving.
You grabbed the pillow from behind you and smacked Steve in the chest with it taking him by surprise. "Don't say stuff like that when we're not alone, Steven." You playfully scolded him as you repeatedly hit him.
Steve laughed as you did, eventually grabbing the pillow out of your hands and throwing it haphazardly to the end of the bed as he took hold of right wrist. "And why not, My love?" He said as slowly laid you backwards, holding your arm above your head as he laid over you. "Can you not control yourself?" He smirked at you and leaned down to kiss your throat, "Can you not think of anything else other than the way my cock feels as it fills your sweet little cunt, Princess?" Steve ran his nose up your troat, smiling to himaelf as your breath hitched and you tried to roll your hips against him. Before you could lean up to press your lips against his, Steve pulled back and sat up. "We should eat."
Your mouth hung open in disbelief as you watched him in all his naked glory move over to where your breakfast was waiting.
He looked back at you with a smug grin, "You think I didn't notice you teasing me earlier?" He winked and dropped down into a chair. "Two can play that game, My love." He gave you a mischievous smile as he popped a couple of berries into his mouth.
Yes they can, you thought to yourself as you gave Steve your own mischievous smile.
------------------------------------------------------------
"I want you to promise me something, Little Princess." You smiled at Morgana kneeling in front of her.
The time had come for you to leave York New and make the long journey to your new home. It was a time you had always feared but now you were beyond excited to start the new chapter of your life.
Morgana sniffled, having spent the last five minutes crying in your arms. "What is it?" She asked.
You looked over at an equally teary eyed Peter with a smile. "I need you to listen to, Peter, okay?" You smiled as she nodded. "He's promised me, he's going to teach you all our ways and all the tricks we know to annoy your father." You smiled up at him. "Isn't that right, Peter."
Peter nodded with a laugh as your poor brother groaned. "That’s right, Your Highness." He winked at Morgana making her laugh.
"It won't be an enemy or old age that kills me, it will be one of you three. I swear!" Tony huffed dramatically making you all laugh.
"I'm going to miss you." Morgana threw her tiny arms around your neck and squeezed you as hard as she could.
"I'll miss you too, Little Princess." You whispered and let her go. You looked up at your brother with a teary smile. "I'll miss you too brother."
Tony took a hold of your hands and helped you up wearing his own teary smile. "Don't. I for one can't wait to get rid of you." He chuckled, pulling you into a hug. "You'll always be 'Little Princess' to me." He whispered against your ear before kissing your forehead. He looked over at Steve as he stepped back. "Make sure you look after her, Steven. Or we'll have trouble." He warned.
Steve nodded as he came to your side. He'd stayed back to give you time to say your goodbyes to your family. "Don't worry, Tony," Steve smiled lovingly at you as he slipped his arm around your waist and pulled you into his side. "My mother's already given me a tongue lashing on your behalf." He rolled his eyes making you giggle.
"I always said she was a smart woman." Tony smiled. "Now, go. You've got a new life to start together." Tony picked Morgana up and placed her on his hip.
You nodded taking a deep breath. "Okay..." You turned to Steve. "I'm ready." You smiled at him.
Steve nodded and took. "Then let's go, My love." He said and lead you over to the royal carriage.
With one last look at your family and the castle that had been your home, you bid them goodbye and climbed into the royal carriage with Steve. As the door was closed behind him, Steve turned to you and took your hand in his. "I know you're sad, My love. But this is a good thing." He pressed a kiss to your knuckles and reached across to wipe your fallen tears.
You nodded with a sniffle, "I know it is..." You smiled at him. "And I am so unbelievably excited for our future together... But it's the thought of not having Morgana running around causing chaos." You smiled, "Or hearing Tony's terrible jokes... And not having Peter," You wiped away more of your tears. "Not having Peter there to tell me I'm being stupid every day is... It's scary." You laughed to yourself.
He nodded as he reached out to cup your cheek. "I know it is, My love. But try to remember that, although you weren't born there, Brook is your home and you have a new family... And, with Sam running around I'm sure there's going to be equally as much chaos and Bucky will be more than happy to call you stupid... He tells me all the time." Be teased making you laugh. "That's better." Steve winked at you before pressing a kiss to your knuckles. "So, my beautiful wife and soon-to-be Queen of Brook, ready to go home?" Steve asked playfully, giving you a wink as you grinned at him.
You nodded, "Let's go home, Steven."

It was only the biggest event in the history of the kingdom. The lonely prince that became king from a tragic event, James Buchanan Barnes, finally is wedded. His uncle finally persuaded him to get married. Married for money, that is. James still remembers when his mother would tell him stories about finding his true love as she did with his father. The love was unbreakable and unconditional. But time caught up, love became a myth, and James was alone. That was until he saw you. You were like an angel amongst men, as cheesy as that might sound. You were perfect, and then you were with him. But not the way he wanted you. He wanted to court you first, swoon you, pick you up off your feet. Have real love, but an arranged marriage doesn’t really scream true love.
So here he sat, on one of the garden chairs, watching as his brothers. Well, his knights that serve under his court. A bond fire blazing, wine, and food arrayed over the large marble table. James ordered for no one to bother him or his knights while they were out, leaving him in peace and quiet for a moment. You, his wife, sat on your chair, alone, away from everyone, watching the knights dance and sing. He watched you from afar, his heart was beating so fast, he wanted to get to know you, to really love you. But you definitely weren’t happy about the marriage, then again, you weren’t happy with your life in general.
Your kingdom was small but had power. Your parents were strict, rude, and cruel. They didn’t care about anything but the kingdom. You were the youngest of three, so you were never going to be queen in your kingdom. But that made you happy. You wanted to run away, live in the woods, be free, and being the youngest made that possible. That was until your parents sold you, so your kingdom could grow. You hated James because he agreed. You hated James because even despite all the weeks you’ve spent as his wife, you were falling in love with him. His smile, his charm, the way he would do anything to please you even if he doesn’t directly say it or do anything.
But you still hated him, and for that, so you sit alone, watching all the boys have their fun. Steve was the first to move away from the group, taking a seat down next to you. You could smell the moonshine on his breath. His smile was gloriously plastered on his face. You smiled back as he picked up a conversation. You were vaguely listening though, as you catch your eyes on Bucky. He was staring directly at you and the flirtatious male that sits beside you. You turn your attention completely on Steve, touching his shoulder, giggling at his stories, giving James a show.
His hand landed on your thigh. It was merely innocent, but to James, it was like Steve just declared war. You continued this array of flirts and quiet whispers, making sure to glance over at Bucky every now and again. He was furious, holding his drink tight in his grip. His knuckles turn white, and his strength gets the better of him, shattering the glass in his grip. Silence fell seeing the glass everywhere.
“Y/n…” His voice was low, filled with anger. You’ve never heard him like this before, and it turned you on. But you stayed strong, not moving an inch from your spot. The others, however, moved away from you quickly, standing behind the king. Even if they were brothers and Bucky treated them like equals, they knew not to get in his way when he was mad.
“Y/n….Now!” He stormed past you towards the garden entrance back into the castle. You gulped, maybe you went over the edge. But you were here now. So you got up from your spot and quickly left the knights without a goodbye. Since spending your time exploring the estate, you already knew where James would be. Coming face to the dark spruce door, you knock before entering. You see the fireplace was lit. The room was warm from the flame. He sat on the deep blue velvet couch, sipping a neat glass of scotch.
“Your grace…” You whisper, stepping closer.
“I’ve told you before, call me James. I’m your husband, not some god for you to worship…” He spat out the last bit of his sentence, feeling tired of people grovelling at his feet.
“But you are my King, James.” Your words hit him straight in the gut, making him have a low growl. You sat down on the end of the couch, leaning against the arm of it. You place your legs up, feeling the velvet on the souls of your feet. He watches you like you were his prey, placing his glass down, he chuckles lightly.
“I’d watch what you say, doll face. You’re on thin ice after the stunt you pulled tonight.” His eyes were red, filled with rage, or was it desire?
“Ah My lord got his panties in a twist because he’s not getting his way.” You giggled, slipping off your shall that sat on your shoulders, no longer needing it to keep warm. He clicks his tongue before grabbing your ankle, yanking you towards him. You yelp as he situates you on his lap, gripping tight on your ass under your loose nightdress.
“You don’t want to piss me off, my Queen. I don’t think you’ll like me when I’m mad.” He grunts, his lips, mere inches from yours. You feel his breath pool on your skin, shivering at his touch. Butterflies burst in your tummy, forcing a whimper to spill from your mouth.
“Oh, you’re enjoying this, aren’t you? I can feel your body burning. My, My, you’re just a slut. A brat needing to be put in her place.” He grunted, feeling your hips slide long his clothed crotch. He bites your ear, licking your hot skin down your jaw to your neck. A gasp leaves you as he roughly bites on your flesh, leaving a hot, red mark. You grip his shoulders as his arms snake around your waist, trapping you on him. Your hips move faster, and the need to feel pleasure tugging with great force.
“J-James…” You mewled, gripping the fabric.
“I thought it was Lord? Or King? Where did my Bratty doll go?” He chuckled, pleased with how obedient you’ve become from only just a small amount of pleasure.
“Bucky…” You replied, whimpering. He gripped your ass, spreading your cheeks before letting them go to give it a hard slap.
“Oooh Bucky? That’s a new one.” He laughed, sounding like he mocked you. His hand lifted up your dress completely, exposing your bottom half. Your skin prickled at the air, hitting it while his hands massaged the flesh. His mouth attached to your neck again, falling down to the top of your exposed breast, leaving marks to contrast your skin.
One of his hands glide up your thigh until it sat in between your bodies. His long fingers, press down on your clit through your panties, making you whimper. He chuckled as he rubs circles, feeling a wet patch growing on the pink lace.
Before he continued, you sat up, placing your hands on his chest. Looking into his eyes, he looked up at you. You looked so vulnerable, so innocent, so….sad… He suddenly felt guilt, placing his hand that sat on your ass to the side of your face, rubbing his thumb over your lips. You lent into his touch, feeling safe with him. Your past was filled with lies, hatred, and yet the minute you were forced to be married to someone you didn’t even know. It was the happiest day of your life.
“I-…I do love you, James.” You spoke up, making him wide-eyed. “The moment I saw you I knew you were kind, loving…I might not have wanted to marry you at first, but I don’t regret it…” This was the first time you had a conversation about your marriage with him. Normally, you both brushed off the conversation, not wanting to make each other uncomfortable. He let out a sigh, dropping his hand from your cheek, leaning his head back on the couch before sitting up to look at you again.
“I feared you’d hate me for what we went through…..” His voice became soft, no longer the grunt, gravel that it was prior, “You are the most caring person I’ve ever met, I didn’t nor do I ever want to hurt you.”
“You could never hurt me.” You placed your hands on either side of his face, looking at him with a slight panic. He could see the stars in your eyes up close when he could only look afar. This made him smile, feeling a sense of relief. You lent your forehead on his, closing your eyes. He rubbed his nose against yours, feeling comfort in the silence.
“Can I kiss you?” He asked, whispering so quietly you almost didn’t hear him. You replied with a soft yes, feeling a tear fall along your cheek. His lips slotted with yours, the hot pink flesh fitting perfectly together. This is the first time you’ve kissed one another, not even sharing a kiss on your wedding day. He sighs into your lips, feeling all the tension, all this hatred for his life, all the sadness, washing away from just a kiss. His world seemed so much brighter, the love that his mother would talk about finally finding its way back. You were the one to break the kiss, grabbing air as you pulled away. A smile left on his face as looked at you with adoring eyes.
“Just so you know…” His voice was soft, but hidden with lust, leaning forward to your ear he whispered, “You’re still getting punished for what you did tonight.”
And like that, he lifted you up, carrying you to his bed, keeping to his promise.

Hawkins’ own King Steve Harrington knew how to throw a party; Christmas, Halloween, New Year’s Eve, or even just a random night when his parents weren’t home like today.
You and Eddie were actually supposed to see a movie and then just spend the night just lounging about in his trailer, but you had convinced him that the two of you should ditch the movie and spend some time visiting Steve and checking out his little get together.
As reluctant as he was, he would never reject an opportunity for free alcohol and time with you, so he agreed that you would both go for a little bit.
Eddie picked you up, the two of you had fast food in his van, and then he drove you down to Steve’s neighbourhood. He insisted on parking about a block down—as if there was any space available on Steve’s street—as his van is a common target for vandalism by a lot of the jocks at school who commonly frequent the parties held at the Harrington household.
As always, he got out of the car before you and told you to stay seated so he could open your door for you with an exaggerated bow like you were a princess arriving at the ball in your carriage.
Once he ushered you out of the carriage, you began walking towards Steve’s house, following the trail of cars parked by teenagers who haven’t yet mastered parallel parking.
“Alright, just a drink or two, we’ll say hi to all your friends, and then we leave, right?” Eddie asked, confirming the plan you had loosely made before.
“Yeah.” You said. “But, I mean, if we feel like we’re having fun, there’s no harm in skipping out on our other plans and staying here instead.”
He looked at you with a raised eyebrow. “No one really has fun at these things. Everyone’s just pretending so they can fit in with the crowd of people who are also pretending. It’s fucked.”
“Whatever you say, babe.” As you approached the Harrington house doors, you gave Eddie a last-minute reminder. “But, just for the night, it might be nice to pretend you’re having a good time too.”
The two of you walked through the door and into the crowd of fellow teenagers, and you knew Eddie would have said something snarky if it weren’t for Steve spotting you immediately and calling your name loudly and happily.
“I didn’t think you were coming! Do you want a drink?”
“Yeah, that sounds nice.” You nodded, then turned to your boyfriend. “Eds, you want one too?”
“Absolutely. There’s no way I’m getting through this thing sober.”
Before you could say anything in response to that, Steve laughed loudly—clearly already buzzed—and announced that he would bring you and Eddie a cup each.
You were about to take your boyfriend’s hand and follow Steve to get the drinks he was currently pouring, but one of your friends squealed your name from across the room, catching your attention.
“Go, you came here to have fun with friends.” Eddie told you. “I’ll get the drinks and find you soon.”
You smiled at him and pressed a kiss on his cheek. “Thanks, Eds. You’re too sweet.” Then, you squeezed his hand quickly before trying to find your friend again in this crowd of drunken high schoolers.
Time flies when you’re having fun. You hadn’t even noticed the time passing while you were chatting and dancing with your friends, or how you hadn’t even had a single drink because you haven’t seen Eddie since you parted ways with him all night.
As soon as you really noticed, you excused yourself away from your friends and started looking around the room for Eddie. You couldn’t find him in the living room where you were, but when you saw his dark curls in the backyard by the window, you wormed your way out of the crowd and started walking towards him.
“Eddie!” You called, but he didn’t turn around even though you were definitely within earshot.
He just kept walking, trudging towards the beer keg where Steve was currently keeping up with his keg stand record. You finally caught up with your boyfriend and you tapped his shoulder to get his attention.
“Hey, stranger, where have you been all night?” You asked him, your cheeriness masking the involuntary scrunch of your face at his potent stench of cheap beer and fruit punch spiked with expensive vodka.
He turned around, but you were shocked at how he was missing the smile he had on last time you saw him, and how it was instead replaced with a tired frown you can’t recall him ever using on you.
“Are you okay, Eds?”
He brushed off your concern. “I’m fine.”
He was clearly lying to you, but you were choosing to think it was just because he was drunk or because you were in a very public space.
“You don’t seem fine.” You told him. “Come on, we can find somewhere private to talk if—”
“I don’t wanna talk. I’m having fun here; isn’t that what you wanted?”
You were taken aback. He had never kept such a biting tone with you, and you weren’t sure where it was coming from.
“Eddie, maybe we should go home now.”
“No.”
“Eddie, you’ve had a bit too much to drink.” Your voice was as firm as you could get it despite wanting to cry in front of all these people. “It’s time to go home.”
“You’re impossible!” He was starting to raise his voice, and suddenly you felt like there were a million sets of eyes on you. “You drag me here, leave with your friends, and then when I actually find a way to have fun, you want to drag me away! I can’t stand you, and I definitely don’t want to go hone with you right now! So either get me another drink or get the hell away from me.”
Your heart sank like the anchor of a cruise ship. It hurt to even look at your boyfriend, so you looked around you for something to fix your gaze onto while you tried to gather your feelings. There were fewer people than you had imagined looking at you—most were one drink away from blackout drunk and couldn’t care less about this altercation—but there were still far too many for your liking.
You just wanted to get out of here more than anything. You wanted to leave when you noticed how drunk Eddie was, and your want increased tenfold since then.
“You’re drunk. You don’t mean that, but I’ll still give you what you want and leave.” Your voice was shaking, and it was somewhat shocking that you weren’t straight-up sobbing as you spoke. “I’ll ask Steve to let you stay here overnight so you don’t drive home like this, and I can find my own ride. Goodnight, Eddie.”
And with that, you left. You went looking with Steve, who had since left his position at the beer keg. Eddie didn’t seem to care at all.
The quest to find Steve didn’t take too long as he was just in the kitchen, but in that short amount of time, the tears that were just welling up a few seconds ago had now made their way down your face. You tried to wipe them away before you talked to your friend, but he noticed you walking towards him before you could swipe your hands across your cheeks.
“Hey, hey, hey, what’s wrong?” Steve asked you, placing his hands on your upper arms. His speech was slurred but he still kept his kindness in this drunken state.
“Eddie and I just got in a fight outside, but it’s fine. I’m just going to go home, but he’s off his face drunk, so can you let him crash here so he doesn’t drive?”
“Yeah, no problem.” He said honestly. “Are you sure you don’t want to stay here too?”
You shook your head. “No, but thank you. The party was really fun, but I just have to leave.”
A friend of yours was nearby and you told her you needed a ride home, and it just so happened she was ready to leave too, so it was about as perfect as it could be given the circumstances. Steve offered to walk you both down the street to your friend’s car, and you wouldn’t refuse that.
The three of you started to walk across the house to the front door, but Eddie had apparently moved as you walked past him in the living room. And he must have had some sort of change of heart as he tried to get your attention by grabbing your hand.
“Baby, don’t go yet.”
You pulled his large hand off of your wrist.
“We can talk later, when you’ve sobered up.” You told him, then turned away and kept walking away.
He followed you, desperate to fix what happened, but Steve stopped him before he could leave the house. He stood in the middle of the doorway and held his hands on either side of the doorframe.
“Come on, big boy, let me talk to her.” Eddie pleaded angrily.
“After you inevitably pass out on the couch and then sober up, yeah.”
Eddie looked over Steve’s shoulder and saw you getting into the passenger seat of your friend’s car. He kept trying to bargain with Steve and push him out of the way until he saw the car you were in start driving and take off down the street.
He cursed himself and Steve finally moved away. Eddie was about to run to his car but stopped when he took about seven steps and his head was already spinning so hard he couldn’t see anything in front of him.
He definitely couldn’t do it tonight, but he would make it up to you as soon as he stopped seeing stars.
