The emperor of magic stood in the center of six fallen bodies. She could feel a single bead of sweat rolling down the side of her temple, uncertain if it was from the blazing hot heat waves or if it was from mental strain. Her eyes remained shut as she struggled to keep the six crows under the veil of darkness.
Normally, it wasn’t hard to get inside someone’s head and drive them towards the point of insanity. But this time was different. She needed to take all six crows down, which was no easy task at hand. It didn’t help that they were all incredibly clever and intelligent; they weren't just dumb witted folk. This made the mental battle all the more challenging for her.
Despite this, the emperor was determined to succeed. She needed to keep them unconscious, forcing them captive within their worst memories and nightmares. With great struggle, the emperor managed to break the chains that bound her. She also was able to get loose from the customized straight jacket that had failed to hinder her powerless. She threw those to the side.
Afterwards, the emperor pulled the bag off her head. She discarded it by tossing into the heap of sand. She removed the final eye covering and ear pieces strapped around her head. She was now finally met with the blinding rays of the sun for the first time in nearly three years.
Wylan’s Nightmare:
As soon as his eyes changed black, Wylan’s body succumbed to a dream-like or comatose state. When he managed to regain consciousness, his eyes began to flutter open and he could see a completely different atmosphere. He quickly sat up upon realizing where he was.
The mansion was known to be one of the most beautifully constructed and decorated house in all of Ketterdam. It belonged to the a well-respected member of the Merchant Council which just so happened to be Jan Van Eck himself.
Naturally, Wylan recognized the house that he had spent his early childhood years in. It all came flooding back into his memory; the marble floors sparkled as they must have been polished to perfection and the high wooden beams that stretched across the ceiling held brilliant chandeliers. The furniture was the most expensive thing on the market at the time. The mansion couldn’t be anything less than perfect.
Now looking down, Wylan saw that he was dressed in one of his old beige suits which now explained why his collar felt so tight around his neck. He went ahead and loosened it immediately. He also realized that his wild hair was tamed and combed down like it always had been when he was a young boy.
In the short distance, Wylan heard a voice talking in the other room. He carefully rose to his feet and made it way over to the door that was slightly cracked open. Peering through the crack, Wylan’s eyes fell on the man he once called ‘father.’ And his breath caught in the back of his throat.
“You stupid, stupid boy.” Jan Van Eck said with a shake of his head.
That familiar pang of guilt shot straight to his heart; he had gotten too squinted with those words in his childhood. His father always shaming him, calling him stupid or worthless. He clutched the frame around the door, squeezing his eyes shut to keep the tears at bay.
“You’re a disgrace!”
All of the sudden, Jan Van Eck slammed his hands down and discarded everything that lay on the desk which included books, pens, and papers of the sort. The burst of fury only caused Wylan to flinch something terrible; something else that he still hadn’t grown accustomed to.
“Can’t read, can’t write.” Jan Van Eck scoffed to himself. He gritted his teeth together. “You’re absolutely worthless!”
Without thinking, Wylan burst through the slightly open door in a rage of fury. For once in his life, he was going to tell it straight to his father and he wasn’t going to let him push him around anymore. His fists were clenched at his sides and his jaw was locked.
Upon hearing the door slamming against the wall, Jan Van Eck turned to face his disgrace of a so-called son. He narrowed his eyes at his approaching figure, not expecting much from him anyways.
“You...” Wylan began, but he struggled to find his voice as it was laced with red hot anger. He pointed a finger at him accusingly. “You do not know me,” Wylan claimed with tears pricking the corners of his eyes.
“I know you’ll never evolve,” Van Eck spat. “Spent years trying to change you, trying to shape you.”
“I don’t need to be changed!” Wylan yelled back. His face turned beat red in his fit of rage.
“You weren’t enough,” Van Eck said with a shake of the head. “You could have been so much, but you're worthless.”
“We never were the same person,” Wylan seethed. He jammed a finger directly into the man’s chest. “I am not you and I was never going to live up to your name.”
“It doesn’t matter now,” Van Eck’s lips shifted into a sinister smile. “Because I’ll still always be there to haunt your nightmares.”
Very slowly, Wylan took a step backwards in his place upon coming to the realization that he wouldn’t be able to get rid of the image of his father in his mind. It will always haunt him and he can’t change that. He suddenly became aware of the situation; that he was living his worst nightmare. And his worst nightmare was being stuck with Jan Van Eck.
Backing away, Wylan wanted nothing more than to leave. He hurried out of the room, charging upstairs to escape to the place where his old bedroom was. He closed the door behind him, twisting the lock in its place. He moved away from the door then. But he didn’t know of the dark figure that stood behind him, watching his every move.
Back in reality, the emperor was left standing and staring directly at Wylan’s limp body in the sand. She studied him carefully. She caught a glimpse of a small tear escaping the corner of his eye and rolling down his cheek.
Jesper’s Memory
When Jesper finally awoke from his unconscious state, he too was most surprised with his surroundings. He shifted into a sitting position, rubbing the back of his neck as if he had a kink in it. He came to realize that he wasn’t in Ketterdam and he wasn't in Ravka either. It almost looked like...
Upon further inspection, Jesper found himself in the middle of a field. He rose to his feet slowly. His long trench coat danced in the breeze. His heart sank in his chest. The memories of his childhood came flooding back into his mind.
These fields were all too familiar to him. Amid the wheat, amid the soft golden ears, moved the unseen wind. The wheels of straw rested on their earthen bed, soaking in the brilliant sunshine. Under the sky that is made all the more pretty for the scattered clouds, the white puffs that radiate white light. It was a simple scene.
His softened gaze fell on the small little house in the short distance. It looked like something from an old photograph; a deep memory that he had almost forgotten. His feet began to carry him to the house. The dark figure followed after him without his knowledge.
Coming to the house, Jesper lifted a hand to pull the colorful blanket away from the doorway. He stepped into the entrance. His hand fell to his side and his heart had never felt more heavy.
It was a small house in the sense that it was all one room. The ground was made of fresh orange dirt and the walls had been lifted by his father at one time. A small stove sat in the corner. And there was a little wooden table for eating. Two beds lay on either side of the room. One of them had an occupant.
“Mama?” Jesper asked just as horrified as the moment he had found her years ago.
His mother always wore the most magnificent colors that made her complexion glow. Her favorite color was yellow in which she was dressed in. She wore these orange and yellow heavy beads around her neck. And her hands rested on her chest. She must have been asleep.
“Mama,” Jesper called again. He felt the tears gathering in the corners of his eyes. He approached her bedside, dropping to his knees to be at her side.“Mama, wake up. I’m here,” Jesper pleaded.
He took her hand in his own, bringing it up to his lips to press a firm kiss to it. He failed to keep his tears at bay, feeling them now cascading down the sides of his face. He shook her hand gently as if half expecting her to wake up and rid him of this horrid nightmare.
“Mama. Wake up. I need you,” Jesper cried. The dark figure stood looming over him as he was forced to once again grieve the loss of his mother.
Leaving the memory, the emperor of magic shifted her gaze away in order to face her next victim. The heartrender lay motionless in the sand with a hand near the side of her face. She looked so peaceful in the moment, but she knew she was already experiencing the worst thing she could imagine.
Nina’s Nightmare:
The Little Palace had been home for so many years. All the Grisha were sent to live at the palace after they had been tested for powers at a young age. Depending on which order one was classified into, they would be dressed in the appropriate color coordination.
Every room was created by the most beautiful and delicate hand. The hallway floors were made from the finest marble, sparkling in the early morning hours. Grand oil paintings hung on the craved marble walls. The quartz pillars upheld the vast ceilings in the grand staircase.
For some reason, Nina found herself walking through those hallways she used to call home. She felt a little disoriented because, with every turn, the palace just seemed so empty. She’d peek into rooms and poke around a corridor, but still, nobody was in sight.
She called out for others. “Zoya? Alina? Where is everyone?”
When Nina finally approached her old bedroom, she saw that the door was already cracked open and a blood stain painted the once golden knob. She pushed the door open gently, cautiously stepping into the old room. Her breath caught in her throat.
Because what Nina saw was something she hoped she would never have to see. All of the Grisha she had once known and who she had grown up with were laid lifelessly on the floor. Their colored uniforms were burnt, torn, destroyed, and soaked in blood. She couldn’t tell if it was their blood or soemone else’s.
Glancing past the bodies, Nina named every single face she saw. Her heart never felt so heavy and burdened. She choked back a sob because even though she had left the little palace long ago, she still called it home. The Grisha were her people; nothing would ever change that. But now, they all lay dead in front of her.
At one point, Nina’s eyes settled on the still body of her old friend Zoya. She rushed to be at her side, dropping to her knees. Her hands went to hover over her heart with every intention of helping her. But Zoya’s hand came up to clasp her wrist to stop her. Her pained eyes shifted to face the heartrender beside her.
“Y-You,” Zoya grunted through her teeth. She felt blood seeping past her lips. “Y-Y..You left us,” Zoya claimed.
“I-I didn’t want to,” Nina said with a swift shake of the head. “I never wanted to leave you behind.”
“But you did,” Zoya pointed out. “You abandoned us. And for what? A Fjerdan who only murders your people.”
“H-He’s not like that,” Nina insisted. She felt tears streaming down her cheeks. “No, Matthias would never hurt me.”
“It’s because of his people that we are left scarce,” Zoya said. “They came in the night. They slaughtered us.”
This comment made the heartrender glance around once more to see the familiar faces that surrounded her. She saw the red blood that painted so many faces. She felt only one heartbeat in the room besides her own.
“I didn’t know,” Nina claimed.
“No,” Zoya shook her head. “No, you knew. You’ve always known that they hunt people like us. That they kill people like us. You’ve known, but you chose to ignore it.”
“I-I’m so sorry, Zoya.”
“And now, you will have to live with the fact that you got us killed. You let them in and made us vulnerable,” Zoya claimed. “Y-You are the reason the Grisha will be extinct,” Zoya finished.
All of the sudden, Zoya began choking on her own blood. It spilled out of her mouth in waves. Though Nina tried to help her, it was already too late. Her body became relaxed after the coughing came to a halt. Her eyes were glassed over in a haze. And her breathing came to a final halt.
All at once, Nina felt an overwhelming amount of shame and guilt in her heart. She dropped her head down, feeling the tears streaming out of her eyes at a fast rate. She raised a shaky hand to cover her mouth in hopes of muffling her sobs. She squeezed her eyes shut, struggling to regain composure.
The dark figure that stood behind her took one final glance around the room. It took a single step backwards before choosing to return back to reality. Her eyes fixed on the person laying beside the heartrender.
Matthias’s Nightmare:
For some reason, Matthias thought he was dreaming again. He only thought this because he always saw her in his dreams. His dreams were quite often unsatisfying since he never really knew what he wanted. There were times that he dreamed of finally killing the heartrender that tormented him and then there were times he dreamed about how her lips felt when he kissed her. She was always a mystery to him, which made him realize that he didn’t know what he wanted.
Now Matthias didn’t know where he was or where he was going. He had a feeling that he must have been within Fjerdan territory since there was a blizzard waging around him. He could barely see in front of him from all the snow and wind blasting in his face.
For a moment, Matthias shifted his focus to his footing. He watched himself lift each foot in front of the other, trudging forward through the heaps of snow. That’s when he saw red.
The dark figure had been following him this whole time. She watched carefully for his reaction. The splotch of red in the snow must have been blood. He followed the trail of blood until his eyes fell on a body laying in the snow a couple feet ahead of him. His heart sank.
“Nina!” Matthias called out.
He hurried to her side, basically collapsing beside her in the snow. He was able to pull her body to lay on her backside before taking a look at her wounds. His hands hovered over her lifeless body, unsure of what to do in the moment.
Her face was so pale; her lips were already blue from the cold. Her eyes remained shut since they had been closed long ago. Her hair was frozen from the blood that leaked from her head. In fact, Nina’s body was covered with various wounds. She must have bled out from them.
His eyes fell on a particular wound near the junction of her neck. It honestly looked like some creature had taken a large bite out of her neck, which ultimately caused her to bleed to death. But those bite marks looked all too familiar.
When Matthias lifted his head, there was a grand grey wolf standing in the short distance. It stood calmly as the wind brushed past it’s striking grey and black fur. However, the wolf’s mouth was dripping with the blood of its victim. It was in that moment that Matthias realized wolves might not have been as tame as his people once believed.
“You did this?” Matthias said in utter disbelief. He stared at the wolf blankly. “W-Why? She didn’t do anything. She didn’t deserve to die like this.”
Slowly, Matthias looked back down to the beautifully calm woman in his arms. He held her tightly in fear of letting her go forever. He lowered his head to press it against her own. He rocked back and forth with his love in his arms, crying quietly to himself.
“She was all I had left. She was the only one to love me for who I was,” Matthias sobbed. “She loved me even though she wasn’t supposed to,” Matthias whispered.
All Matthias could do was press a soft kiss to the center of her forehead. He stared off into the distance for he was unable to look at the wolf the same again. He cried for what felt like hours on end and he refused to leave her side.
Inej’s Memory:
The Menagerie was most commonly known as the House of Exotics. This was mainly because the menagerie advertised the exotic beauties of foreign women. They always dressed as specific animals that came from their country or region.
The House of Exotics was almost always filled to the brim with men looking for a good time. They often smoked which filled the house with a thick cloud. There was always heavy liquor seeping from their lips, which made their breath smell awful and their discernment rather thin. The men were able to do whatever they pleased as long as they paid the right price.
During Inej’s time at the Menagerie, she had never felt so low and empty in her life. Now she stood there once again. She wore her old clothes which painted her out to look like a lynx. Her soft brown skin reflexed wonderfully against the brilliant purple silks that hugged her body.
With each step, Inej heard the little bells that wrapped around her ankles. She maneuvered her way through the heavy crowd, passing by drunks and other girls dressed to impress. She didn’t think to question how she got back there or the fact that she was just relieving her worst memory.
When she was there, she felt numb to the rest of the world. And she entirely was  right then and there.
For the moment, Inej was leading this half drunk man upstairs to the private rooms. He had already paid her for her time spent with him. She felt the kruge jingling in her pocket. She brought him to one of the rooms, letting him inside before closing the door behind them.
It didn’t take more than five minutes for the man to emerge from the private room, still in the process of buckling his pants back together. He closed the door with a satisfied smirk on his face before heading back downstairs to the bar for another round.
Back in the room, Inej lay on the soft bed in a heap of sheets. Her beautiful purple silks had been discarded on the floor. She stare blankly at the ceiling, feeling entirely numb. She felt a single tear seep out of the corner of her eye.
Her core was filled with a sense of shame. Her legs felt weak as if she already knew she’d have trouble walking. Even her shoulder ached slightly since he had bitten down during their time together. She pulled the sheets to cover her bare body, shivering at the memory engraved into her mind.
For a second, Inej closed her eyes as if to wish she could just disappear into the next life. She hated being there. She hated the things she was forced to undergo. She just wanted to be free. Why couldn’t she be free?
The dark figure that stood by the window was looking directly at the saddened woman laying in bed. She even went to turn away from the scene, because it was too much, even for the emperor herself.
Back in reality, the emperor was truly struggling to keep all six of the crows under their own spell. She only needed to hold off for a little longer because they’d eventually discover that they’ll be stuck. They won’t be able to escape those nightmares. That is, not unless...
Kaz’s Nightmare:
When the black clouds came to settle around him, Kaz Brekker was able to get a sense of his surroundings. He had come face to face with his greatest demon.  The familiar eyes of his dear deceased brother were staring right back at him.
Very slowly, Kaz found himself rising to his feet with the help of his cane. He stared at his brother blankly as if he wasn’t at all surprised to see him after all this time. He observed him ever so carefully because one wrong step could be the end for him.
“Hello Kaz,” Jordie said. His lips curved into a mischievous smile.
When Kaz didn’t say anything or do anything in particular, Jordie furrowed his eyebrows in slight confusion. He took a single step forward. He raised his hands in defeat.
“What? No hello for your long lost brother?” Jordie questioned.
“I know you are not real,” Kaz claimed. He still wore a blank stare on his face.
“Oh, aren't you the clever one?” Jordie almost mocked him. “Even if you think this isn’t real, you're trapped here with me until your brain starts to rot. You’ll never find the way out,” Jordie laughed.
Kaz’s lips twitched into a wicked smile. “Won’t I?”
Just then, Jordie’s face fell blank. He looked at his younger brother with a hint of confusion behind his eyes. He shifted nervously from one foot to the other. “Whatever do you mean?” Jordie laughed cautiously.
“You made one vital mistake,” Kaz claimed.
Though this time, Kaz wasn’t speaking to the image of his brother. More so, to the dark figure that stood behind him. In a slow manner, Kaz had turned around to face the emperor of magic herself who had been watching the conversation all along. Out of all the crows, Kaz had been the only one clever enough to notice her presence. She was slightly impressed.
“What mistake did I make?” The emperor of magic spoke through slightly gritted teeth. She clenched her fists at her sides to contain her anger because she hated being outsmarted by others.
“You discovered all our names,” Kaz began. He tipped his head to the side. “Through the same memory,” Kaz added.
Now the emperor tried her hardest to keep a straight face, but he could already see the small sense of panic hiding behind her eyes. She shifted from one foot to another in a nervous manner. She held his gaze strictly.
“Which means, all of these nightmares are connected in some way or another.” Kaz noted. He went to look at some of his surroundings, not necessarily recognizing where he was at the moment. “I wonder if they can hear me,” Kaz said mostly to himself.
“Who?” The emperor asked curiously.
“The other crows,” Kaz seethed through his teeth. He lifted his head to look towards the sky once more. “Jesper, Inej, Nina--” Kaz called for his crows loudly.
“You can’t get out,” the emperor said rather hastily. He directed his attention back to her.
Despite this, Jesper heard the message through his own memory. He raised his head and looked into the distance. All of the other crows were able to hear their boss too. Though it sounded more like a distance echo than anything else. They listened carefully to the conversation that followed.
“You're trapped here. You’ll never figure out how to get out,” the emperor claimed. She breathed a nervous laugh to cover up her slight fear.
“You underestimate me,” Kaz spoke. “Another mistake.”
Just then, Kaz took a single stride forward in his place. In a way, it was almost like he was taunting her or challenging her with knowledge of his own. Because if anyone knew something, it was that Kaz Brekker was always one step ahead of the game. He knew this was going to happen all along.
“Let me ask you something: when do you wake up from a dream?” Kaz questioned. He now stood directly in front of her, staring down at her through hooded eyes. “It’s always right before something terrible happens,” Kaz stated plainly.
The emperor couldn’t have predicted his next move. He immediately seized her throat with his glove clothed hand. She breathed a small gasp of shock as his digits began tightening around her neck. She clawed at his hand, desperate for some form of release.
“Sometimes, you get shot at. Sometimes, there is an accident. And sometimes, you fall.” Kaz recalled some of the dreams he once had and the ways he managed to wake up from them. “But you always wake up,” Kaz said while tightening his grip.
“And my guess is that if you die in this dream, you wake up. Is that right?” Kaz wondered. When the emperor said nothing, Kaz went to tighten his grip again. She winced at the contact. “Is that right?” Kaz repeated himself.
“Y-Ye-s-s,” the emperor struggled. “Y-You’ll w-wa-wake u-up.”
In the meantime, the other crows heard the entire conversation between the two of them in the distance. They finally understood what was happening and what they needed to do in order to get out of their nightmares. There was only one solution to waking up.
Without hesitation, Wylan found his old stash of chemicals in the floorboards of his bedroom. He riffled through various glass vials, searching for two in particular. He raised the two glass vials in his hands, seeing the bright colored liquid that they contained. If mixed together, those chemicals would create a deadly explosion. He popped the corks off them.
In the other dream, Jesper had been slow to rise to his feet. He looked down at the body of his deceased mother, still feeling the tears coming out of his eyes. He reluctantly pulled one of his shiny pearly guns out of his holster at his side. He cautiously raised the gun to the side of his head, squeezing his eyes shut in preparation for what was to come.
Now Nina was still sitting amongst the bodies of her dearest friends. She contemplated things for a moment, basking in the reality of the situation. She raised her hands in a particular manner, focusing all of her attention on the speed of her own heartbeat.
Meanwhile, Matthias discovered that he was moving towards the wolf that stared directly at him. He forced himself to place one foot in front of the other. He heard the wolf growling in a threatening manner. He knelt into the snow as if ready to accept his fate. He closed his eyes just as the wolf lunged for his throat.
In the menagerie, Inej had climbed to the rooftop of the institution. She peered over the edge, looking to see several stories below her. She climbed onto the ledge, keeping her arms out at her sides for balance. She put one step forward before falling to her death.
Back in his own nightmare, Kaz carried the emperor’s face a little closer to his own. He studied her carefully as if searching for any sense of faulty. He narrowed his eyes at her. He kept his grip firm, despite her desperately grabbing at the lapels of his trench coat. She was begging for release.
“B-Bu--t I’ll be l-long gone by then,” the emperor claimed. Her lips curved upwards into a smile. “Y-You’ll ne-never catch u-up to me.”
“You’re bluffing,” Kaz called it. Her smile fell. “You haven’t left yet. You’re keeping us under as long as you can. And once we are lost, then you’ll make your escape.”
And indeed he did call it.
“Y-You have n-no idea what y-your up a-against,” the emperor struggled to speak. She was quick to send a firm gab into his stomach, which caused him to release his grip on her neck. She ran past him as quickly as she could.
With the nightmares being connected, the emperor was able to open a portal into one of the first nightmares. She jumped through the portal, taking a brief moment to look at the scene in front of her. It was the old mansion.
But the once pristine bedroom was now covered in a thick layer of blackened ash and dust. The soft brown floorboard had been burnt, laced with an unknown chemical burning through the wood itself. The velvet curtains had caught on fire. And the wallpaper had been destroyed beyond repair. Amongst the destroyed scene was the small lifeless body of the demolitions expert.
“No,” the emperor whispered to herself. “He’s gone already.”
Which only meant that Wylan was awake in reality. In haste, the emperor went to open another portal into the next nightmare with every intention of stopping the next crow from waking up. All she was able to find was a limp body laying on the ground. The sharpshooter still held one of his guns in his hand, but a bullet had already entered his skull. He lay there as the blood spilled from the headshot.
The panic began to take over. The emperor dream hopped to the next one through the access of another portal. Amongst the bodies of deceased Grisha was the familiar heartrender. She lay peacefully amongst her own people, having chosen to slow and stop her own heart.
Now the emperor was growing agitated and frustrated. She went to open another portal which led her to the ice cold lands. She squinted through the blizzard storm only to find a wolf feasting on the body of a unmoving druskelle. The wolf raised its head and bared its now blood stained teeth.
Finally, the emperor forced herself to run as fast as she could through the final portal. She hurried to the edge of the building, being quick to peer over the edge. She spotted a motionless body nearly six stories below the building. She had jumped.
The emperor of magic had failed to keep them at bay. They all managed to escape their worst nightmares, which meant that they were all awake and ready to take her on in the real world. She needed to get out of this dream.
“You’ve lost. Admit it,” a familiar voice said from behind her.
When the emperor turned around in her place, Kaz Brekker was looking directly at her. He wore an infamous smirk on his face. He had followed her through every single portal, dream hopping right behind her. This also meant that he had seen each of his crows dead which couldn’t have been easy.
“They are back in reality by now. Getting ready to put a stop to you,” Kaz stated as a matter of fact.
“What about you? You can’t leave unless you die,” the emperor took notice.
“That was never part of the plan,” Kaz claimed. Her face fell. “The plan was to keep you under as long as possible because that is the only way you can be stopped from the outside. You can’t fight me in here and them out there at the same time,” Kaz explained.
Back in the desert, the five crows came to surround the emperor who stood in the center of them. The others turned to face the heartrender amongst them, giving her the signal through the form of a single nod. She raised her hands in a particular motion, slowing the heart rate of the emperor of magic.
In the dream sequence, the emperor grunted at the feeling of her heart being squeezed and slowed down. She clutched at her chest in attempts to stop what she felt. She lifted her head to look directly at the man himself. Realizing that she had been bested, the emperor was quick to turn around in her place and charge towards the edge of the building.
Without hesitation, Kaz followed directly behind her with every intention of stopping her from jumping over the side and waking up from this nightmare. Just as the emperor leaped from the ledge, Kaz grasped onto the emperor’s forearm to stop her.
From the mere pull of gravity, the emperor’s body slammed against the brick wall of the institution. He had been pulled down slightly, but he was still able to keep a firm grasp on her while hanging over the side of the ledge. She fought against his tight grip, trying to get loose so she could fall.
“I won’t let you,” Kaz grunted. He struggled to maintain his hold on her, but he shook his head at her careless behavior. “I can’t let you hurt them.”
“Then you’ll just have to come with me,” the emperor told him. She pushed off the brick wall with both of her feet. She used all of her strength to pull him over the edge of the building.
Together, both bodies began to plummet to the ground from the force of gravity. The two of them stared at one another, sensing that familiar feeling of falling to the ground with no control whatsoever. Just as the two of them would hit the ground, their bodies jolted awake back in reality. And the real challenge began.
It was rather odd. It was almost like the heartrender was holding the heart with her own two hands, forcing the heart rate to slow down. Just as Nina thought the heartbeat would come to a final halt, it was like she felt two hands envelope her own from within the chest.
Those invisible hands holding her own began to pry her fingers off of the heart itself. She eventually realized she didn’t have a grasp on the heart anymore; that it was probably back to its normal self in terms of heart rate. The feeling of those hands covering her own began to close in.
In a split second, Nina let out a terrible scream of pain as her hands got crushed by the ones that kept hers captive. The emperor of magic kept her hands clenched into tight fists as she broke every bone in the heartrender’s hands.
Naturally, Nina ended up dropping to her knees on the ground. She clutched her hands close to her chest for some form of comfort, but she wasn’t able to stop she blood from spewing from the joints in her fingers or the bones from poking out of the back of her hands. She never felt so much pain in her life.
“Nina,” Matthias called out to her.
Though part of him wanted to rush to her side, a bigger part of him wanted nothing more than to stop the emperor once and for all. With a mighty war yell, Matthias charged towards the emperor of magic who kept her back to him. He raised his two fists above his head and brought them barreling down.
But at the last second, the emperor spun around on the heels of her feet to surprise him. She drew her own fist back and sent it directly into the center of his chest. With the force of her magic, Matthias was forced backwards in his place. His body dragged across the desert sands as he felt the wind truly knocked out of his chest. His chest burned painfully.
Now the emperor went to face the other three crows standing amongst her. With Jesper drawing his two guns out of his holsters and Inej wielding her precious knives, Kaz waited to signal them to attack her with his cane. She went to take a step towards them, but was stopped when something hit the side of her head.
A bright pink powder escaped from the small glass vial that hit the side of her head. The powder sparkled in the bright sunbeams that beat down on them. She didn’t even realize that she managed to breathe the powder in, but it began to greatly affect her senses. She turned towards the small person who had through that at her.
In the short distance, Wylan went to grab another vial from his pouch. He hoped to hit her with something to make her sense weaken so it might be easier to take her down. Just as Wylan pulled the vial out, he felt an invisible hand wrap around the expanse of his neck. He was dragged forward by an unforeseen force until his neck made contact with the emperor’s cupped hand.
Without warning, Wylan’s body was slammed to the ground by the emperor. She went to straddle his chest, keeping him pinned to the ground. He grasped at the hands wrapped around his neck, desperately trying to loosen her grip on him. He gasped her air. He felt the life being squeezed out of him.
Before Wylan lost the oxygen in his chest, a gunshot rang through the air. The bullet managed to lodge itself directly into the emperor’s shoulder, which caused her to release her grasp on the boy’s neck. She slumped backwards in her place, reaching up to grasp the wound on her shoulder.
The emperor scurried to stand to her feet with every intention of finishing off these crows. Her vision began to blur and her head felt dizzy. Despite this, the emperor managed to raise her hands to put up a fight.
The three crows worked in a synchronous harmony, taking timed turns to throw different strikes. Now Inej was the first one to step forward with her knives drawn at her sides. She took a couple swipes which the emperor managed to dodge barely. Then Jesper fired a couple rounds from his pearly guns. He manipulated the bullets to fly exactly where he wanted, but the emperor waved her hands to direct the bullets elsewhere. Finally, Kaz went to step up. He raised his cane and swung with all his might. He struck her once or twice, but it wasn’t enough to take her down.
Suddenly, the emperor felt a large arm wrap around her backside which put her into a tight headlock. Her knees were knocked out from behind, forcing her to drop to her knees. Behind her, Matthias tried to maintain a tight grip on the smaller body. He grunted upon feeling her fight against him.
Slowly, Kaz went to approach her. He raised his cane in the air, bringing it towards her face. He stared her down carefully.
“Admit it,” Kaz repeated himself. “You’ve lost. We’ve bested you.”
The emperor choked upon feeling the grip tighten around her neck. “B-But I haven’t lost,” the emperor claimed.
“We’ll kill you,” Jesper explained. He came to stand beside his boss. He raised his guns to point directly at her head. “No hesitation,” Jesper stated firmly.
“And it will be slow,” Inej added. She pressed the edge of her knife against the emperor's check, swiping it away to leave a sharp mark. “And painful,” Inej said.
“You can kill me,” the emperor of magic told them. Her voice grew heavier as if the demon inside her was speaking. “But it will be your mistake because I always come back.”
Before the emperor could say another word, Kaz raised his golden cane above his head and brought it barreling down into her skull. The body ended up collapsing to the ground from the mere force of the swing. He continued to beat in her skull until there was nothing left, but a pool of blood and brain. The blood painted his face in a gruesome manner.
“Kaz!” Inej called out. She had hoped to bring him back to reality. He finally stopped beating the body to death. “It’s done,” Inej claimed.
The crows had gone through so much within the past few days. They had schemed their way back into the court and somehow managed to escape. They ended up having to relive their worst memories and became temporarily trapped in their own nightmares. They needed to escape those nightmares in the form of killing themselves. And they had to defeat the emperor after taking some heavy hits from her. Despite all this, they managed to survive, just like they always did.
But for some reason, Kaz just had a feeling that she’d be back just like she said.
THAT IS THE END OF THE SERIES! PLEASE TELL ME YOUR THOUGHTS! SO SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO POST.

you can’t carry it with you if you want to survive (Nimona 2023) - Chapter 3 (Preview #1)
(Note: this is not the finalized draft; anything featured is subject to edits or deletion)
Chapter 2 (Recap)
As Ambrosius edged towards unconsciousness, he vaguely registered a harsh scratching noise, like nails scrambling against tile. Above him, someone yelled, followed by terrified screams and a mix of pained yelps and animal-like snarls. "Monster!" "Fucking hell–!" "It's got me, man, it's got my leg–!" The next thing he knew, the cadet's pinning weight disappeared, the shadows looming over him gone. The cadets had vanished, leaving Ambrosius alone on the hard floor, chest rattling as he struggled to breathe through the saliva and blood pooling in his mouth. Exhaustion enveloped him like a thick, suffocating fog. His body, heavy and sluggish, refused to cooperate as the adrenaline wore off. Despite his best efforts, his eyes started drifting closed. The last thing he saw was the muzzle of some creature as it stepped into his line of sight, its hot breath rustling his hair as it stared down at him with black, glittering eyes. Everything went dark.
Chapter 3 (Preview #1)
As Ambrosius regained consciousness, he gradually became aware that he was being slowly crushed.
Groaning, he writhed in discomfort, a dull, throbbing pain pulsating through his head. Prying his eyes open, he tried looking around, squinting underneath the harsh glare from bright lights above him. When he recognized nothing, panic squeezed his chest.
Before he could make sense of anything, however, a figure emerged above him, flashing a smile filled with impossibly sharp, jagged teeth.
Monster.
Ambrosius lurched upright, gasping as a wave of dizziness crashed over him and sent him toppling back down. Bile rose in the back of his throat and he had to screw his lips shut—the only thing that saved him from being sick was the fact that there was nothing in his stomach left to empty.
Struggling to keep his eyes open, he turned back towards the figure. “You …”
The shapeshifter’s grin widened.
“Me,” she said. "Good to know your head isn’t completely meat-soup, nemesis. I was putting it at 3 to 1 against, personally.”
With a forceful swallow, Ambrosius attempted to lift himself once more, slower this time. The shapeshifter’s scarlet eyes remained fixed on him, shimmering with both curiosity and amusement. Human eyes, he noted. And yet, he had to fight back a surge of unease as he cast his gaze around the room, trying to take in his surroundings.
Instead of the trashed hotel lobby, he found himself inside a shabby, rundown shack of some kind. He was lying on a threadbare couch and had been buried under a truly staggering number of thick, fuzzy blankets. A fabric ice bag lay on the ground, melting in a small puddle of its own condensation; it must have fallen off his head just when he'd been shifting around.
He tried recalling those last few moments in the lobby, but his memory was a blur. There had been the cadets. Some kind of a commotion. The muzzle of a beast. And then, nothing.
Countless questions burned his tongue. When he opened his mouth, however, the shapeshifter shot out her hand.
“I already know what you’re going to ask,” she said, “and the answers are, in order: Here, there, don't know and don’t care, and, yes, this is a new top, thank you so much for noticing.”
Ambrosius blinked, wondering if perhaps his head had indeed been turned into meat-soup. She shot him an unimpressed look.
“Tough crowd. What, you hit your head or something?”
Laughing, she doubled over, slapping her knee. Ambrosius drew in a slow, deep breath, summoning all of his patience, and decided that it wasn't his head that was the issue here.
“Where are we?” he asked.
“Oh, nowhere in particular.” Leaning forward, she dropped her voice to a low whisper. “Just the hellscape that haunts the dreams of good men. Where hope goes to die.” Straightening, she threw her hands over her head. “Welcome to the evil lair, nemesis.”
From the corner of his eye, Ambrosius took in the shack’s dilapidated walls and the junk scattered across the floor. An old board game sat abandoned on the coffee table, surrounded by dirty dishes and an almost empty jug of soda. A pizza box lay tipped over on its side, a few forgotten pieces of crust still inside.
He scrunched up his nose. Well. It certainly wasn’t like any evil lair he'd ever imagined when he was a kid.
“Where are the cadets?" he asked, turning back to the shapeshifter. "Where’s Officer Laurel?”
Pinky digging into her ear, she lifted a brow. “Officer who now?”
“She was with me at the scene. Dark hair? Wearing a uniform? ”
“Oh, her!” she said, wiping her finger on her pants leg. “Yeah. I ate her.”
Ambrosius’ jaw slackened. Her sharp smile didn’t abate. His eyes widened. “You–”
She shoved his arm. “Freakin' relax, dude, you’re as gullible as the boss, you know that?” Shrugging, she started picking at her teeth. “Eh, she took one look at me and hit the deck. Like, fainted, like in an old movie or something.” Her eyes grew thoughtful. “Wouldn’t it be funny if she thought I was trying to eat you? That’d be pretty messed up, right?”
Ambrosius grimaced. Poor Officer Laurel; he'd need to check in with her as soon as possible. “And the cadets?”
“Those guys? Had them screaming for the hills. I’m pretty sure one of them peed his pants. Always, always funny.” Her eyes jumped to something over Ambrosius’ shoulder. “Oops, hold that thought.”
Ambrosius' eyes followed the shapeshifter as she rounded the couch before they dropped to his hands, his head still trying to process everything. Feeling dangerously close to overheating, he wriggled out from under the mountain of blankets, tossing them aside before sitting up. As he pulled out his phone, however, he scowled; the device had been crushed. Most likely a result of the fight. Another issue on his ever-growing list of problems to deal with later.
Thankfully, the screen still lit up for him at his touch. Dialing the most recent number, mindful of the cracks in the glass, he gingerly brought his phone to his ear.
“Sir!” said a voice as soon as the call connected. “Thank Gloreth, I didn’t know– I saw the cadets scampering off and I went inside and I saw this– this–”
“Officer–”
“Sir, I saw this wolf-bear thing standing over you!” she exclaimed, her voice sharp with panic. “I think I must’ve passed out because when I woke up you were gone–”
“I’m okay, Officer,” Ambrosius said. “The wolf-bear thing is a …”
Friend?
But the word fell apart on his tongue. “… It was trying to help.”
“Oh! Well, that’s– That’s good, then!” She let out a forceful exhale, the sound crackling through the receiver. “I’m not sure what I would have done if something had happened to you, sir.”
Embarrassment crashed over him, sinking to the pits of his roiling stomach. He still couldn't believe he'd let a bunch of academy rookies get the better of him. How utterly disgraceful. “I’m okay. I just wanted to check in with you, Officer, make sure you weren’t hurt.”
“Forget about me, sir, it was five of those bastards against one of you! Are you sure you’re alright?”
For the first time since regaining consciousness, Ambrosius took a moment to assess how he was feeling. The side of his face was stinging, his knee aching as if it were being stabbed with a hot poker. He ran his tongue over a gash in his bottom lip, nausea rising at the metallic taste that burst in his mouth. Dizziness teased the edges of his vision, the room rocking gently on its side. Likely the results of a concussion.
The old injury in his shoulder was throbbing, pulses of dull, tingling pain shooting down his arm. He must have pulled it when he’d been throwing his weight around. He hadn’t even noticed.
“I’ll live,” was all he said. Sighing, he lowered his head into his hand, wincing as he brushed his nose. Broken. “I'm sorry for frightening you, Officer, it wasn’t my intention. For now, you should just try and put all this behind you and return to your regular duties. I’ll take care of everything from here.”
He’d need to file a report first thing in the morning, and he tried keeping his pessimism at bay at the thought of the uphill battle that awaited him. Rarely had the objectionable behavior of cadets resulted in more than a terse reprimand during his academy days, and he knew things would only be more difficult in the kingdom’s current frenzied, emotional state. After the events of tonight, he’d likely just be seen as chasing a vendetta; the disgraced knight, in cahoots with monsters and villains, seeking revenge against the youths entrusted to protect the realm. He ran the very real risk of blessing those drunk, violent clowns with martyrdom. In fact, it felt inevitable.
His one consolation was that perhaps it would smooth things over with Starcrest's CEO if he’d already completed the bulk of the paperwork necessary for an insurance claim. A paltry comfort after a disastrous day—but it was something.
It took a moment for him to realize he’d yet to hear a response from the patrolwoman. He frowned. “Officer?”
A watery sniffle sounded on the other end of the phone. Alarm shot through him. “Officer Laurel?”
“I’m so sorry, sir,” she said, her voice thick with misery. “I shouldn't have gotten you involved. None of this would have happened if I'd just tried harder sorting this out on my own."
His heart dropped, exhaustion settling over him like a heavy, smothering fog. “None of this is your fault. Your captain was wrong to put you in that situation in the first place. Rest assured, I’ll be filing a complaint with your senior staff first thing–”
"Frankly, sir, I don't give a rat's arse about my captain right now," she said, drawing in a deep, shuddering breath. "They hurt you. You could have … you could have been … And it would've been all my fault.”
Ambrosius squeezed his eyes shut, guilt clawing at his chest. Of all the regrettable things to happen tonight, upsetting the patrolwoman might be the thing he regretted the most. “You did the best you could with the situation you were put in, Officer. Don’t be so hard on yourself.”
She sniffled. “I'm sorry, sir. I just wisssshhhhzzzzzzztttt–”
Ambrosius flinched at the abrupt, strident static. “Hello? Officer?”
“Ssssszzzziiiiirrrrrrr–”
The line went dead. Ambrosius blinked, pulling his phone forward. The screen remained dark, however, and refused to respond to his attempts to turn it back on.
Cursing, he threw the device onto the coffee table and lowered his head, cradling his face. The patrolwoman’s melancholic words bounced around his skull, juxtaposed with the memory of the almost childlike delight in her eyes from earlier that night. It already felt like eons ago since he'd teasingly offered her an autograph—he should have known that he was setting himself up for disaster showboating like that. How would she look upon him now, if she saw him in this sorry, defeated state?
A dusty hand mirror rested on the coffee table. With a morbid curiosity, he picked it up, and, at the sight that greeted him, recoiled.
A furious, purpling bruise bled along the contour of his cheekbone and jawline, accompanying a bluish-black ring circling his now grotesquely swollen eye. Smaller bruises and cuts marred his lips and lower face from where the cadet had struck him, and the line of his nose had a slight crook to it. Broken, as he'd suspected.
The shadows beneath his eyes, a familiar sight in recent months and easily dismissed, now hollowed out his gaze with a stark, gaunt emptiness. He looked like a skeleton. A tired skeleton.
Tracing the discolored ring around his eye, Ambrosius tried to stamp down the hot, burning hopelessness constricting his chest. All the coverup in the world wasn’t going to fix this. He had no idea what he was going to do for the cabinet meeting tomorrow. He didn’t even want to think what Ballister was going to say.
Bal …
Amidst his brooding, he didn’t see the figure looming over him until it had leaned well into his personal space. When he noticed, he suppressed his urge to flinch. The shapeshifter grinned.
“You see a mirror and you just can't help yourself, can you?” she said, elbow resting on the arm of the couch. “I gotta hand it to you, though; you can really pull off a shiner.”

Stuck at 56.7 Degrees//Chapter Eight
Tumblr media

Natasha had learned many years ago how to wake up in precarious situations. From napping in a tree in the Black Forest, to caves in the Middle East, or disguised in a crowd of refugees in eastern Europe, she was an expert at falling asleep at a moment’s notice and waking up without moving a muscle the moment she sensed something was wrong.
When Natasha regained consciousness and became aware of the back of her eyelids and the rough floor pressing into her side, she took mental stock of her situation. Wall to her back, bag undisturbed beneath her head, knife in her boot still pressed against her leg. She could feel his eyes on her.
She blinked her eyes open, surprised at the weak pre-dawn sunlight that cast a haze over the room. Moving slowly, she sat and stretched, her muscles protesting from a stiff night’s rest.
“I thought we agreed on taking watches,” she said, voice low and rough from sleeping on a dusty floor.
He remained exactly where she left him: pressed into the corner of the room opposite her, staring at her with those icy blue eyes.
“Not tired,” he grunted, coughing once to clear his throat. Natasha rolled her eyes.
“If I’m tired from the pace you’ve been setting, you definitely are. Go on, sleep. I’ll keep watch.”
He shook his head.
“I need to move. I’ve been here too long anyway.”
It was too early for arguments, so Natasha just shrugged and rolled to her feet.
“What are you doing?” he asked, watching her stretch and check over her bag.
“I’m coming with you,” she answered simply. He frowned.
“I’m fine on my own.”
“ I’m fine on my own, ” Natasha repeated in a mocking voice. “Shut up.”
After shaking out the blanket, she packed it into her bag and slung the strap over her shoulder. By the time she turned back to her companion, he was stuffing his own sleeping bag into a ratty backpack.
“Ew, no,” she strode over, waving his hands away. “Leave the sleeping bag. I’ll get you a new one, that one is gross and way too small for you.”
He tugged the sleeping bag to his chest.
“You’re not coming with me.”
Frustration bubbled in Natasha’s chest. Why couldn’t he just let her be there for him?
She took a deep breath and held out her hands placatingly.
“I’m sorry,” she said. The words were unfamiliar on her lips. She grimaced.
“I just want to help,” she added. His deep frown didn’t go away, but as she studied him she could see fear hidden behind the anger.
“Why do you want to help me?” he asked again. There was a hard edge to him that she had never seen before. It reminded her of a cornered fighting dog.
I never wanted this for you, she thought, swallowing. I tried to protect you from the worst of it, to salvage your humanity from the hell we were in, but I couldn’t even do that.
He had grown into someone she didn’t fully recognize anymore, someone more like herself than she wanted to admit. So, Natasha thought about what she would say to herself if their positions were reversed.
“I owe you a debt,” she said. “You saved my life. Even if you don’t remember it, I do.”
This resonated with him more than anything she had said previously, she saw it in the tilt of his stubbled chin, the understanding in his eyes.
One weapon to another, she thought. If that’s the only way we can understand each other, so be it.
“As long as you’re useful and not in the way, you can come with me,” he said, warning lacing every word like poison.
“Fine, as long as you leave that here,” she said, nodding at the sleeping bag in his hands.
He leveled a glare at her, but wrenched the sleeping bag out of the backpack it was half stuffed into and dropped it onto the floor.
“Fine,” he snapped. “If you’re going to be a princess about it.”
Natasha froze.
— “Давай, ударь меня.” (Come on, hit me.) —
— He was bouncing on the balls of his feet, arms in a loose defensive position. A cocky grin spread across his face. —
— “Не бойся, принцесса.” (Don’t be afraid, princess.) —
Forcing herself out of the flash of memory, Natasha found herself staring up at him with wide eyes. He just looked confused.
“What?”
No spark of recognition, no joking laugh or twinkle of mischief. She shook her head.
“Nothing, let’s go.”
She strode out of the room without even looking to see if he was following. It wasn’t until she had kicked the front door open (more violently than necessary, probably) and she was out in the chilly dawn that she felt centered again.
“You gonna tell me what that was about?” He asked, jogging to catch up with her. She spun around to face him.
“What do you remember?” she demanded. His confused, almost concerned expression quickly closed off into one of distant, cold anger. It was like a mask slammed down in front of him.
“Nothing.”
“Liar.”
He scowled.
“I don’t owe you anything,” he said, sneering. She matched him, glare for glare.
“No,” she said. “You don’t. But like I said: I owe you my life, many times over. So I need you to work with me, here. I want to help you. Do you want your memories back?”
She hadn’t realized she was stalking towards him as she spoke until they were almost chest to chest, her chin tipped up defiantly to stare at him.
“Of course I do, what sort of question is that?”
His scowl remained fixed, but as his eyes moved over her face, something changed, ever so slightly. Something sad and lost, hidden behind his anger.
Natasha forced herself to take a step back, and breathe deeply.
“Okay, then. I’m no neuroscientist, but your brain needs to rebuild neuron pathways. That means I can’t just hand you all the answers, Bucky.”
She watched him out of the corner of her eye as she spoke, searching for a reaction. She found one as he shook his head.
“Don’t call me that,” he said softly, eyes falling to the ground.
“Why?”
Part of the question was to satisfy her own curiosity, but part was to push him to think through his decisions rather than rely on muscle memory, so to speak. Given what she knew about the human brain (more than a layperson, less than, say, Bruce Banner) it was a muscle like any other. He had to work to get it functional again, and that meant doing more than just reacting.
James stared at the asphalt like it held the key to unlocking his mind.
“I’m not…I’m not that man anymore. I’m not Bucky. At least…not right now.”
She forced herself to soften, relaxing her muscles and lowering her voice.
“What would you like me to call you?”
He scuffed his boot at the edge of a pothole.
“I don’t know.”
“You had a lot of names to choose from, but you’re allowed to pick a new one if you want.”
God knows she’d done it enough times. At this point, she slipped between names as easily as a pair of shoes. None fit quite right, but she couldn’t go back. At least…not now.
He shook his head.
“I think…I think Barnes is good. The sergeant. I could be him, maybe. A soldier.”
Natasha let out a long breath, more relieved than she thought she’d be.
— ”Как вас зовут?” (What’s your name?) —
— “Ты уже знаешь мое имя, принцесса.” (You already know my name, princess.) —
— “Нет, не твой титул. Как вас зовут?” (No, not your title. What’s your name?) —
— “...Барнс, Джеймс Барнс. Что твое, вдова?” (...Barnes, James Barnes. What’s yours, Widow?) —
— “Наталья Алиановна Романова.” (Natal'ya Alianovna Romanova.) —
— “Какой глоток. Я зову тебя Нат.” (What a mouthful. I’m calling you Nat.) —
“Okay. Sergeant Barnes, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Again, she thought, holding out her hand.
He slowly took her hand.
“What’s your name?” he asked.
Ah, there’s the heartbreak all over again.
She gave him a wry smile.
“Call me whatever you remember,” she replied with forced lightheartedness. He frowned.
“But I only know you from my mission briefing,” he said, stumbling over the last two words like they choked him on their way out. “I only know you as the Black Widow.”
Natasha straightened.
“Then that’s who I’ll be, for now.”
The sun was barely peeking out over the rows of townhouses, and the city of Philidelphia was starting to come to life. Natasha surveyed the street.
“Where to, Barnes?”
Just using the name seemed to invigorate the man in front of her a little. He stood a bit straighter, hitched his bag higher, and scanned their surroundings for threats.
“I’ve been in this city for too long,” he said, down to business. “Do you have somewhere within a day’s travel we can regroup?”
She nodded.
“I burned a lot of my safehouses on the coast looking for you-” she shot him a look, he had pursed his lips in what could almost be a proud expression. “-but I still have a few,” she finished, shaking her head to hide her smile.
“Lead the way, Widow,” he gestured. Natasha took a moment to get her bearings, then started walking down the road.
“Train or car?” Natasha asked after a few minutes of walking. They had moved from the street to the sidewalk as people began to drive to work.
“Car,” he answered instantly. She nodded. “We’ll have to jack one. Keep your eyes peeled.”
Neither of them had any compunction about their actions, and when Barnes pointed out a sleek black BMW 3 series they moved in perfect tandem. He kept watch while Natasha produced a slim wire and a knife. A few moments later they both slid into the car, with Natasha hotwiring it in a matter of minutes while he tossed their stuff in the back seat.
“Watch the duffle,” Natasha said, fiddling with the wires. “I pulled some pistols off those guys yesterday, they’re still loaded.”
“Didn’t your CO teach you to clear your weapons?” Barnes grumbled, unzipping the bag and grabbing a pair of guns to unload them. Natasha smirked.
“Nah, he wasn’t too much a stickler for safety. He said either I’d learn or I wouldn’t, and if I got shot it would  be a good lesson.”
The car rumbled to life beneath them, and Natasha straightened. Barnes tossed the full clips of ammo into the glovebox and tucked one unloaded pistol into the door, sliding the other into the center console.
“He sounds like a dick,” he said. “You ever get shot?”
Natasha let out a short laugh as she pulled out onto the street and set her sights on the highway.
“Once or twice.”
“And you still didn’t learn.”
“Nah. Takes more than a few pesky bullets to get a lesson to stick for me.”
Barnes just shook his head, turning to look out the window.
“So, where are we headed?” he asked as she followed signs for I-76.
“Harrisburg,” she answered, then muttered a few choice Romanian words under her breath as a Lexus swerved to cut her off. Barnes chuckled, causing Natasha to raise her eyebrow.
“Got something to say, sergeant?” she asked. He shook his head.
“Course not. Wondering where you learned to curse like that, but no comment here.”
Natasha couldn’t help the smile that spread across her face.
“Same CO,” she said.
Her chest hurt, but if she forced herself to slow down and stop thinking about what to do to get her James back, she found herself simply happy that he was here at all. Even though he didn’t remember sneaking out onto the roof when it was snowing and teaching her how to curse in Romanian while they huddled under old blankets, she was still happy. They were still able to fall into a conversation, even if he didn’t remember her.
Until you can do it on your own, I’ll do the remembering for both of us, James, she promised.
It took a few more muttered curses to get Natasha through traffic without yelling at anyone, but eventually, they made it onto the highway, heading west. Once clear of the city, Natasha felt a little tension leave her body. With the open road unspooled ahead of her, cutting through woods and rocky hills, the blue sky above dotted with a few grey clouds, and the sun shining down on a fresh new day, she felt her spark of hope warm into a flame.
“So,” she said, smoothly maneuvering around an old pick-up and accelerating in the fast lane. “We should probably figure out a plan.”
“I thought we had a plan,” Barnes replied. “We’re going to Harrisburg to lay low, right?”
“Well,” Natasha drew out the word. “Yes and no.”
He instantly tensed beside her, voice harsh.
“What do you mean, yes and no?”
“We are going to Harrisburg to lay low,” she was quick to reassure him. “But it may not be that simple.”
“When is it ever,” he grumbled. “What now?”
“The men who attacked me last night, do you know who they were?”
“No.”
“Me neither, not exactly. All I could figure out is that they were Russian.”
“My grandmother could have guessed that.”
Natasha rolled her eyes as Barnes crossed his arms, looking out his window.
Always with the attitude.
“Anyways,” she said pointedly. “They might end up being a problem again.”
“Why?”
Natasha grimaced.
“Long story short? They were sent by my old commander, not the one who taught me to curse, the one in command of my entire program.”
“What, he’s got a problem with you?”
“A bit, I guess. I kind of…killed him.”
Barnes huffed.
“You should have killed him better if he’s sending guys after you.”
Natasha scowled.
“I literally blew up his building with him inside, okay? I didn’t really think he’d come after me, given that I blew him up .”
“Did you recover a body?”
Natasha chewed on the inside of her cheek.
“No…we thought it was destroyed in the explosion.”
“You can’t half-ass an assassination, Widow. I thought you were supposed to be the best,” he snapped.
“I am,” Natasha snapped back. “He shouldn’t have survived, there’s no way he could have.”
And I killed so many people to make sure he didn’t…
“Clearly, he did.”
He had raised his voice, turning to look at her.
“And now I’m with you, which means if they shoot at you, they’re probably going to shoot at me, too!”
“Relax, they would have anyways.”
“What the hell does that mean?”
Natasha was about to answer when something tugged at the back of her mind.
“Shut up.”
“What the f-”
“Barnes, shut up! ”
Frantically scanning her surroundings, Natasha found the threat. A tanky grey SUV was directly behind them, accelerating quickly.
“Hold on!” she ordered, swerving into the righthand lane just in time to dodge the SUV. Metal screeched as its front bumper caught the corner of their BMW, but Natasha was able to maintain control.
“Говно!” (Shit!) Barnes cursed harshly, bracing himself as the BMW swung wildly.
“Заряди пушки, Барнс,” Natasha spoke through gritted teeth, weaving in and out of traffic at ever-increasing speeds to try and get away from their pursuers. (Load the guns, Barnes.)
While Natasha gripped the steering wheel tight, racing through traffic full of innocent civilians, Barnes grabbed the pistols he had stowed earlier and slid the ammo clips into them, dragging back the slide to chamber a shot.
“These your Russian friends?” he asked, twisting around in his seat.
“I wouldn’t call them friends,” she replied. “I have to get us off the highway, there are too many civilians.”
“Wouldn’t the civilians stop them from engaging?”
Natasha’s answer was short, clipped, and heavy with personal experience.
“No.”
As if confirming her answer, a shot rang out, lodging itself in their bumper. When Natasha glanced in the rearview mirror, she spotted a black-clad, masked shooter hanging out of the passenger side of the SUV, already lining up another shot.
“Okay, time’s up,” Natasha said. Wrenching the wheel, she bumped over the grassy median and onto an empty offramp. The speed she lost in the sudden maneuver she quickly made up with a clear road ahead of her. Unfortunately, their pursuers had more time to make the ramp, and quickly filled her rearview mirror again as they sped through a rundown town featuring all of one gas station and a grocery store. Almost as quickly as they had entered it, they were gone again, trees closing in around the road and only occasionally breaking to reveal flashes of rolling fields.
“I should have left you at the bar,” Barnes grumbled, checking the guns.
“And miss all the fun?” Natasha replied, pushing the car faster down the cracked two-lane road. His response was a string of muttered Russian and an exaggerated eye roll.
“Весело, говорит она.” (Fun, she says.)
After fumbling with the buttons on his car door, locking and unlocking the car a few times, Barnes hit on the button to lower the window.
“Stay steady,” he ordered before hauling himself half out the window, leaving one of the guns on the seat behind him. Natasha did the best she could, but the road had other plans. Swerving to avoid a pothole, she heard a shot go off above her. A moment later, Barnes ducked his head inside.
“The fuck did I just say?” he demanded. “Hold the car steady!”
“It’s rural Pennsylvania,” she replied testily. “You think they maintain the roads for these speeds?”
Barnes’ response was lost to the wind as he returned to his previous position. Natasha tightened her grip on the wheel, the speedometer blinking in warning as she crossed the three-digit threshold. It took nearly all her focus to keep the car under control, scanning for danger as quickly as she could. Above her, Barnes fired again. A return shot skated along the side of their car, carving a silver line into the paint.
“Turn coming!” Natasha yelled. She hoped it was enough warning as she pulled the emergency brake and set the tires squealing as they locked up, leaving long black skid marks on the asphalt. Taking advantage of the momentary stop, Barnes emptied his clip. A second before the bullet-ridden SUV could ram into them, they were off again, speeding down a tree-lined, one-lane road with a spray of gravel. Natasha spared a glance to see Barnes was still with her and had to restrain a laugh as he pulled himself back into the car. His hair stuck out all around his face, windblown and matted, and he wore a wide-eyed scowl as he discarded the empty gun in the backseat and checked the fresh one.
“A little more warning next time would be nice,” he said. Natasha gave him a smile.
“I knew you could handle it.”
Their maneuver had gained them some ground, as the SUV had blown past the entrance to the road and was forced to backtrack to turn onto the winding gravel path.
“So, you got a plan?” Barnes asked, watching out the cracked back windshield as they turned a corner, losing sight of their pursuers.
“Plans are so overrated, don’t you think?” Natasha replied.
“No, no I don’t think that.”
The trees around them, thick as any wall, suddenly broke open to reveal a picturesque white ranch house. The gravel drive widened into a circle, with the house on one side and a large, freestanding garage on the other. No other vehicles appeared to be in the drive or garage, and Natasha hoped that meant there were no civilians home. She spun the wheel and pulled the e-brake again, stopping the car so it blocked the drive. As she shut off the engine, the roar of the SUV grew louder.
Natasha and Barnes moved on instinct, grabbing their bags and flinging them to the edge of the circular drive as they hurried out of the car. Natasha fished more ammo from her bag and tossed it to Barnes, who caught it as he hurried to cover in the trees opposite her. Flanking the end of the driveway, they both melted into the trees, guns hot. A moment later the SUV appeared, gunning toward them as fast as it could on the uneven road. It crunched into their car, crumpling the passenger side and sending the BMW sliding several yards.
“Их там нет!” A voice yelled. (They’re not there!) The SUV doors slammed open and three men jumped out, AKs held close across their bodies.
Natasha almost sighed. This wasn’t a challenge, this was an annoyance.
“Держите двигатель работающим,” one man, the leader, apparently, ordered. (Keep the engine running.)
Natasha’s eyes found Barnes, crouched beside a tree. His eyes were as cold and dead as a Siberian winter and despite the warm adrenaline pulsing through her veins, Natasha shivered.
Barnes held up two metal fingers and pointed at himself, then one and pointed at her. She frowned, holding up two fingers and pointing to herself, then one and pointing at him. He shook his head. She nodded emphatically. He scowled.
Their silent argument was cut short as three pairs of boots crunched on gravel.
“Глаза вверх. С ней кто-то есть.” (Eyes up. She has someone with her.)
“это солдат,” a voice said, younger than the grave orders of the group’s leader. (It’s the Soldier.) He sounded terrified.
“Это не подтверждено.” (That’s not confirmed.)
“Я видел его металлическую руку!” (I saw his metal arm!)
“Солдат на нашей стороне, идиот.” (The Soldier is on our side, idiot.)
Two dull thumps sounded as the leader hit his two companions on their helmets.
“Это может быть царь Николай Второй, мне все равно. Вас убьют, если вы не будете внимательны.” (It could be Czar Nicholas II for all I care. You're going to get yourselves killed if you don't pay attention.)
Natasha peeked through the leaves. The group was slowly approaching the wrecked BMW, guns raised. Two of them, the two subordinates, split off towards Barnes’ side of the road, while the leader stalked unwittingly towards her.
A flash of metal caught her eye, and she glanced towards her companion, who had three metal fingers raised. Before she could tilt her head in question (no way was she giving all three to him, this was her fight) he lowered a finger.
Two.
The commander stepped closer, and Barnes lowered another finger.
One.
Moving as one, Natasha and Barnes leaped onto their targets. She heard a scream from the other side of the road, but her focus was quickly focused entirely on her opponent.
The leader was big and bulky, but his size didn’t stop him from moving faster than she anticipated. As Natasha engaged he swung his rifle, cracking her across the jaw with it before she was able to dodge. Stars exploded behind her eyes as she stumbled back a step and fell into a defensive stance. With a few feet of distance, Natasha glanced over him, noticing how he held himself and his weapon. She spotted the safety, still on. Her eyes flicked up to the expressionless visor of the man’s helmet.
“What, scared to return to Dreykov with damaged goods?” she goaded. The man growled.
Jackpot.
He lashed out with the butt of his gun and Natasha dropped to a crouch, feeling her hair ruffle as his swing missed. Before he could recover she popped up, slamming an elbow into his underarm, staggering him. Digging her fingers under his helmet, she ripped it off, revealing the man beneath. She didn’t recognize him, she didn’t have to. His lips curled in fury at the same time fear flashed in his eyes.
“Передай от меня привет этому ублюдку Дрейкову,” (Tell that bastard Dreykov hello from me,) she snarled, pressing the muzzle of her gun under his chin. “Я скоро пошлю его к вам.” (I’ll be sending him to meet you soon.)
Without breaking eye contact with the man, she pulled the trigger.

Second Stroke in 8 Months
I don't think anyone reads this anymore but I should provide an update on life and stuff.
Last night I cooked some chili garlic noodles and followed the ingredients (but not their amounts) from Yeung Man Cooking. His recipes look really good, so I tried making one, but I doubled the recipe without really measuring my soy sauce and oyster sauce but went by look and compared it by how it looked/tasted as I cooked it. Unfortunately, you probably shouldn't cook while you're hungry, but the problem is that you end up not eating it right away and you end up eating cold food later on. But cooking while hungry makes things taste way better than they really should, and that's where the problem was.
I put way too much soy sauce in.
I didn't realize it, but after having 2 bowls of noodles total, I sat down and started watching some videos to let the food settle, and I started feeling weird. Like something was off. And I started feeling lightheaded and my vision was starting to deteriorate, first at the peripherals and then eventually down to the center of my vision, where I had almost entirely lost my eyesight within about 30 seconds. I had the urge to vomit. It was like when you stand up too fast and need to sit back down to let the blood flow back into your brain, but I was still sitting. I got up and somehow managed to push my chair into my desk, and hobbled over to the bathroom door that's connected to my bedroom. I had fallen at some point, and the thud alerted one of my housemates to come and check on me.
The first time I had a stroke was in the shower, I think just before christmas of 2022, approximately 8 months ago. I had just woken up in the morning, it was cold, so I did some 250 squats and got into the shower to warm myself up while also maintaining my leg muscles. The experience was the same: it was a sudden realization that something wasn't right, I suddenly started feeling lightheaded, my vision deteriorated, and I collapsed in the shower. I regained consciousness on the shower floor, the water running over me, and while I still had very impaired vision, I had physical control over my body. I shut the water off and dried off as best I could, then immediately went back into my bedroom to cool off, and my vision slowly returned over a few minutes. I told my roommates what happened and one came up to check on me, doing some basic tests to see if I still had full physical capability. I was able to force a symmetrical smile and could follow his finger back and forth with my eyes, so things seemed fine. There were no further incidents, but this event alerted my other housemates that if they hear a loud thud coming from my area of the house, they should probably check on me.
My housemate came into my dark room, and I could hear him, asking me if I was okay. I said, "I can't see." He asked if I had a light, but my phone was at my desk and I kept the lights off in my room as well as the AC to help save on electric bills. I was pointing to the light switch on the wall and saying, "It's right there," but according to him, I was entirely unresponsive. A few seconds later, I had a tiny burst of energy where I could see one of my computer monitors and based on where it was in my field of vision, I could guess where I was in my room. I looked up and saw the faint silhouette of the bathroom door knob, so I grabbed it and pulled myself up, opened the door to the bathroom, and flipped on the light switch. I said, "I can finally see," then I blacked out completely.
I woke up in a pool of my own vomit, mostly cleaned up, and with an ice bag on my head. My housemate told me to stay on my side, presumably to keep me from inhaling my own vomit, which I think I inhaled just a little, since the entire night I was exhaling some black razzberry la croix, which is what I had drank just before my vision started to deteriorate.
My head was throbbing with pain, my glasses were off, and I was on the bathroom floor. My head on the stone tile. My legs were wet. My clothes were wet. My throat was burning. It wasn't a pleasant feeling. My vision started returning. I could tell that all I needed to do was vomit. But it turned out that I fell face-first into the stone tile, and fell so hard that I bruised my right eyelid and the frames for my glasses had bent so much that they no longer sit relatively balanced on my face anymore. Both of my housemates were in the bathroom with me, cleaning up and making sure I stayed conscious. I felt terrible. My head hurt. One of them gave me a glass of water with a little sugar and iodine. It was cold, and it tasted good. He recommended that I just keep my AC on, but I said that I can't afford the upcoming electric bill if I keep it on all the time. I seriously can't. If it costs $500, I barely make that much in a month, and I still have to pay the internet bill ($170), water bill ($100), and gas bill (usually around $20 or less). And I still owe rent, which I definitely cannot afford so I haven't been paying it.
I managed to regain full control of my body and took all my clothes off and threw them and the bathroom rug into the washer, took a lukewarm shower, and went to sleep. I woke up with a dull, persistent headache and a lightly bruised but noticeably swollen right eyelid. I had planned to visit a coffee shop today in the morning to see if they were still hiring, but there would definitely be questions about my black eye. So I sent in an application anyway and hopefully the swelling will go down within the week and I can check on my application later.
I've been streaming a few times a week on twitch, mostly Overwatch, but sometimes GoldenEye 007 on an emulator. I've been out of work since June 8, 2021, so I did swagbucks for a while, getting $50 per month on surveys, then going back to Rubios so I can make around $500/month.

(i don’t own this gif or any of the characters in this fic)
summary: you and nat are separated when in the Red Room. you both are reunited. after holding onto a couple things to give her for a couple years you both realize love is well and alive.
warnings: violence, abuse, swearing, lil angst, fluff
pairing: natasha romanoff x fem!reader
word count: nearly 1.8k
a/n: omg i don’t know what to say! thank you for all the support on the stuff i’ve released so far. it’s super crazy seeing some of my favorite writers following me. thank you so so much for 30 followers! much love 💕💕
(italics in dialogue mean the person is speaking russian)
sorry for any mistakes i wrote this at 3am and have to get up for school at 6 😪 no bueno
It was a cold and stormy night as the power in the Red Room continuously flickered on and off even with the help of a high powered generator.
You and Natalia had been waiting for an event like this to occur so you could break out. Even though both herself and you lived only a small bit of life outside in the real world before you were taken in and trained to become a weapon, both of your humanly morals knew right from wrong. The Red Room’s treatment definitely being a wrong.
Madame B and the other monstrous staff at this facility put all you girls to bed roughly an hour ago. Nat and yourself undid your cuffs connecting your wrist to the metal bedframe so you could pack the few things you both owned before you made your escape. Both of you had talked this plan over through and through so you both were on the same page as soon as you saw that flicker of a power outage surge though the site.
At the moment you both were eighteen years old meaning both of you had proven yourselves worthy enough to hone a spot at this academy and had graduated a couple months prior.
GAME PLAN
Some information you had gathered which the staff weren’t aware of was every time the power flickered off, it disarmed and unlocked the exit door/s for nearly five seconds. The weather has been dry but cold lately not making this discovery too useful. The plan was to sneak over to uncuff yourselves in the middle of the night when these brief power outages were occurring, pack your items, and as you were about to escape bang on the wall of the large room where the girls kept at the academy would sleep to create enough of a distraction before you were out and free for good. Easy right? How wrong you’d be.
When it was time for the distraction, Nat stood by the door waiting for the next surge of lightning of whatever broke the electricities stability as you walked to the far side of the sleeping quarters where you were sure you’d have enough time to bang on the walls and sprint out of that door.
You heard a crash of thunder so you knew your escape chance would be soon. As you were about to start banging on the walls you see a door knob parallel to Nat but far away none the less start turning.
BAM
Lightning strikes, what seems to be right outside of the building. You sprint for the door only to have your arm caught by one of Madame B’s henchmen.
Just like that the power flickers.
five.
Without much thought you break away from the man’s grasp lunge at Natalia who happened to be at the door.
four.
“We’ll meet again Natalia.” you speak softly
three.
You shove her out of the door with all of your might.
two.
You use all of your remaining strength that you can muster up to slam the heavy metal door closed.
one.
Click
The door locks once again.
“You stupid little bitch. Get over here NOW!” the man practically growls.
You slowly and steadily walk over to the man as he gruesomely pummels and kicks you.
Sure the beatings, mind torture and manipulation hurt, but you’ve never experienced any kind of pain on the same caliber to what being separated from Natalia feels like.
Madame B is more than disappointed, enraged and annoyed with one of her ‘star students’. You receive daily beatings and long, tiresome training hours for helping Natalia escape. Although everyone is ‘replaceable’ in the minds of the staff as well as Madame B, they just lost Natalia so they couldn’t afford to lose you as well.
Months later the beatings finally slow down to a couple a week which you are able to endure. Madame’s mission now is to make a monster out of you by pushing you to and past your limits when training.
One night you finally drift off to sleep. You hate sleeping. It’s a constant replay of your last night with Nat. Only hoping that she made it to civilization safe and sound and is living a normal teens life. However, tonight’s dream is different. In this dream you see yourself shoving your packed-escape bag between your mattress and bedframe as you are bleeding out on the ground from the beatings. You wake up in a cold sweat and manage to kneel on the ground and slowly lift up your mattress only to find that same, small bag filled with the few, but important belongings of yours and Nat’s. You open up the bag forgetting all about what you both had packed. The most important items you see is a picture of Natalia as a toddler with alongside her mother and father, a small metal ring which you had made for her after stealing a small teaspoon at dinner, banging it against the concrete floor with a rock to flatten it out as you’d continuously bend it back and fourth so only the thinnest part is of the spoon is left which you bend into a ring before surprising Nat with it after you know she had a pretty rough day training, and lastly Nat’s papers containing important info about her such as her full name, birthplace, parents names, and birthdate.
November 22, 1984
November 22, 1984
November 22, 1984
November 22, 1984
You make sure you have this date burned into your head, latching onto any important information about her you can learn.
You hang onto those three items keeping them hidden.
Two and a half years later...
It’s late at night when you hear gunshots and fights breaking out throughout the facility. You quickly get up out of bed (once again undoing your cuffs) and grab those three items from under your mattress. You place them in your pocket getting ready to make a break for the outside world. As you reach for the door you turn back taking one last look at the place you’ve been living for pretty much the entirety of your life, only before a man in a funny red, white, and blue costume enters your view.
You bring your hands up ready for a fight.
“Look kid, I’m not here to fight you. We are breaking you out.” the man ensures
“Who even are you?” you sternly question
“Steve Rogers. But the public calls me Captain America.” his gaze settles on your figure, “Mind telling me who you are?” he pushes
“Names y/n, but look I’ve got places to be ma-“ you are cut off when Captain America’s jaw drops.
“No, we both know you don’t. But, you ARE coming with me.” you know there isn’t much room for protest but that won’t stop you from trying. You lunge at him and push him to the ground as you wave a small goodbye and sprint towards the door only for your body to fall on the ground limp. Realizing you’ve been stunned by something temporarily.
“YOU MOTHERFUCKER!” you shriek, he only chuckles.
“God, Nat was right about you.” she shakes he head with a small grin on his face.
“N-nat?” you whisper as you vision fades black.
You regain consciousness and look around only to find yourself in a weird windowy, loud vehicle type thing. You see a group of people standing around you but you see one particular familiar face hovering directly over yours lightly combing through your hair with one one hand and gently outlining your jawline with the other.
“NAT!” you screech, your brain is feeling too many emotions to comprehend at the moment.
Once she sees and hears you are awake she pulls you into a bone crushing hug.
“Y/n/n I’m so sorry I left you and you had to stay in that hellhole for so long alone I don’t know how I would’ve help up it if that-“ you cut her off
“Natalia, all that matters is I’m here with you right now.” you reason.
After getting off of what you learned is a ‘plane’ you and Nat spend hours together clinging onto one another as if, as soon as you separate you will be absent in her life for another couple years, vice versa.
Months pass by. Even though you and Nat have yet to label yourselves as a couple your hearts belong to one another after being attached to the hip to one another for pretty much every activity or mission you both do. In this time you were also recruited as an Avenger due to your skillful hand to hand combat and your masterful types of fighting you have nearly perfected from your time in the room.
The date just happens to be November 22. You are pretty sure no one in the compound is aware of Natalia’s birthday, hell, you aren’t even sure if she’s aware.
Today is the day you decide to return the missing items from her bag that you recover after she left.
You wake up next to her and wake her up with a long, graceful, soft kiss on her lips to which she responds shortly after by kissing you back as you feel as tiny smirk against your own lips.
“Hey, what was that for?” she asks playfully
“Ohhh nothing. Just maybe it’s for my favorite girl’s special day today.” Nat blushes.
“H-how’d you know?”
“Oh honey, I know e v e r y t h i n g.” you reply
Before she can respond you pull her to sit up on your shared bed and hand her an envelope containing her papers as well as he one and only photo of herself and her family.
As soon as she sees both items she sobs into your chest. (more because of the picture, you really only included her papers so she too would know all the most crucial parts of her life pre-red room era.
“Uh, uh, uh’” you tut,”One more thing.” you reach for her hand slowly and tell her to shut her eyes. You slowly slide the makeshift ring on her finger.
“Open.” you instruct
To which she gasps at the sight and just like the day you both were reunited you hugged and kissed for hours on end.
“Nat, will you be my girlfriend?” you ask with a sheepish smile.
“Of course y/n/n, I thought you’d never ask.” she takes a breath,“I know love is for children, but you are my only exception.”
“Ditto.” Natalia chuckles, “That is what the Americans say, right?” you backtrack with flushed cheeks.
She holds you tighter and presses a soft kiss to your forehead.
“Sure.” she breathes out.

OMG!! Can you do one where y/n and Arne are dating and she gets hurt during the exorcism? Lots of fluff please!! Thank you so much you’re writing is AMAZING!!
injuries
| pairings : arne johnson x fem!reader
| summary: you and arne are best friends with debbie so you both insist on helping with david’s exorcism except it’s a day you’ll never forget.
| warnings: exorcism, angst, injuries, sorta-blood.
| A/N: hi anon! i hope you like this! <3 also i’m running out of gif’s 😟
Tumblr media
" let's take a break shall we? " ed called out his voice out of breath, tiredness clearly in his voice.
i turned over to mrs glatzel, she look drained and tired bags under her eyes as she held her eight year old son tightly in her arms placing kisses on his head.
i walked over, " your son is very very brave and strong, i know for sure we will be able to take whatever this spirit is out of your son. " i smiled and she nodded her head a tear rolling down her cheek.
" hey, i'll do whatever i can to protect david, and i mean whatever i can" i spoke softly.
" thank you, thank you so much. " she said, wiping her tears. " it's what we're here for " i smiled
ed walked over and said, " david should probably get some rest for now before we continue on." mrs glatzel nodded.
" hey, i can take him up if you want? " arne offered as he walked over.
"sure, thank you so much arne, you've been a big help with david. " mrs glatzel said, taking david off of her and giving him to the arne.
" y/n, you should probably go up there with arne, i need to talk to them about something important." ed said, glancing at lorraine quickly and then turning back.
" oh- sure. " i nodded my head and smiled i walked up the stairs with arne, a comfortable silence filled the air as we walked up.
arne opened the bedroom door. he placed david in his bed and tucked him in as i walked towards david's window, admiring the beautiful view.
i wasn't really paying attention to there conversation but i did hear him quietly say " I won't let anything happen to you, i promise. " he smiled reassuringly.
i turned my head around and saw the boy staring at me again, i walked over to him and said, " we should probably leave so he can sleep, he needs to get his rest. by the way the priest just got here. "
he nodded his head and shut the bedroom door as we walked down the stairs he finally spoke up, " y/n, i don’t want you to get hurt, i have a really bad feeling about this. ”
" arne, i’ll be fine. " i smiled as we continued walking, we finally came to the end of the steps as he turned to me and spoke again, “ you’re strong but this is a demon we’re talking about."
" arne. " i spoke " i promised you i’ll be fine" i spoke, i honestly hoped i would be fine.
i nodded and shifted my eyes toward ed and lorraine talking to mr and mrs glatzel.
a blood curling scream came from upstairs. david.
" david! " we all yelled in usion running up the stairs, mr glatzel was currently ahead all of us running as fast as he could to get to his son.
mr glatzel quickly opened the door to his son's bedroom and looked around for him, we all stood outside of the bathroom door as mr glatzel barley walked inside the bathroom when david charged to him stabbing him in the leg with a knife.
mr glatzel yelled out in agony, arne grabbed my wrist and  protectively brought me to the side where it was safe, david brought his hand back up to stab him again but ed quickly grabbed david, " we need to do this now. " he told the priest.
father kastner nodded his head in agreement, " okay, put him in the car we will take him down to the church right now. " father kastner said.
ed shook his head quickly , " no, father! we have to do it now. "
ed brought him down the stairs but whatever was inside david wouldn't leave without a fight and that's for sure, david's hands gripping onto the wall to try and prevent ed from dragging him down, claw marks all over the wall.
drew rushed quickly to the camera and put the headphones on as lorraine cleared the table, you had to admit you were a bit freaked out.
i stood next to arne grabbing david's knee while arne grabbed his arm lorraine was across from me grabbing david's while debbie was holding his knee and ed was at the end of the table holding his leg
everyone was holding david down as we tried to keep him from hurting anyone. father kastner was reading the bible as david or the demon inside of him was laughing over and over again.
father kastner held his vile of holy water as he mumbled prayers as the holy water striked the boys face making his skin bubble, you looked away and so did arne, the both of you staring at eachother.
but that didn't last long because you heard lorraine hiss in pain, you quickly turned your head to her, eyesbrows furrowed " lorraine! what's wrong? " ed asked, she removed her hand off of david as she touched her head, "i'm fine..i'm fine. " she regained consciousness and put her hand back on david's arm.
" lord, heed my prayer. " father kastner paused, the boys back arched as he let out a disoriented scream, everyone fell silent, david stopped moving and everything was silent. i turned my head to arne as he sent me a questioning look of panic, you shared the same look with him as you turned your head to father kastner his face turns to panic as he knows it's not over yet and you know it too.
the cabinets flew open, a ton of plates, cups and bowls were launched at all of us, arne quickly ducked and brought me down with him as we watched father kastsner get hit in the head, leaving a gash on his forehead, he quickly went down and hit the floor, everybody's hands were still on david.
" are you okay, drew? " you questioned, he nodded his head and gave you a thumbs up and took off his headphones, you smiled and turned your head back.
" where's your first aid kit!? " ed yelled at debbie quickly.
" uhm..it's.. in the kitchen! it's in the kitchen! " she yelled back.
" i'll go get it! " drew yelled as he ran to the kitchen as fast as his legs could take him.
you looked at arne next to you as you smiled, ed going over the latin ritual, you looked over at lorraine as again she looked like she was getting lightheaded.
ed started talking louder and louder, this seemed to have of agitated the demon inside david, david was trying harder and harder to get out of our grasp but we held him tight.
david's back was now arched, bones cracking and making weird noises, he twisted his arm so he could fit his head under his stomach, debbie yelled so loud she was crying, david growled at her as he started laughing demonically.
debbie started yelling at us to make it stop, you quickly shut your eyes mumbling a fast prayer. " leave him alone! " arne cried out.
" don't talk to it! " i yelled out, looking at arne.
" arne! don't talk to it! " ed yelled out as well trying to grab arne's attention.
" i said leave him alone! he's just a little boy you coward! " arne yelled louder and louder as you tried to get him to stop.
" stop it! you're making it worse, arne! " you tried to yell louder as wind started to form in the room.
david turned his head and sent you, debbie and arne across the room, you were thrown into the cabinet harshly and that’s all you can remember.
" y/n! " i heard someone calling out my name but it sounded muffled. i felt warm liquid tricking down my forehead.
“ y/n! are you okay!? " another voice called out but it was muffled as well my head was pounding so bad, lorraine was walking over to you but david let out another disoriented scream and launched himself at ed, sending lorraine backwards.
" i'll stop your heart, old man! " the disoriented speaking loudly whilst he reached at ed's heart, ed let out a gasp as he looked into david's eyes.
" ed! " lorraine yelled out as she tried to get up but got lightheaded.
it all went black after that.
⭒☆━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━☆⭒
i was trying to open my eyes but i saw a white light. oh my i’m going to heaven.
“ y/n!? y/n!? ” i heard a muffled voice yell.
i opened my eyes more and looked around, i was in a hospital room? i looked around and saw arne looking at me.
“ you’re finally awake! " he cried, tears rolling down his face.
“ what do you mean, ‘ finally awake’ ? " i asked him, trying to sit up.
“ y/n.. you’ve been out for a week! you hit your head the day of the exorcism and got a concussion. " arne spoke grabbing my hand and putting it in his.
“ david!? is he okay? ” i asked, panic in my voice.
“ yes, yes. he’s okay. “ arne spoke. “ i love you. and i told you, you were gonna get hurt. ” arne said again and playfully rolled his eyes.
i wacked his arm with my hand. “ i love you more. ” i said and laughed.

Here is Chapter 2!  I hope y'all like it!
Title: Succession Chapter 2
Characters: female reader, Karl Heisenberg, Salvatore Moreau, lycans, mentions of OC
Rating: PG-13 for images of gore, scenes of terror, possible kidnapping trigger warnings
Summary: You discover a long lost relative from Moldova has died and you are his sole beneficiary.  You are on board a plane to collect your inheritance when your plane crashes in a village in Romania.
Author’s Notes: I do not own the characters from Resident Evil Village.  This is a work of fiction.  Anything remotely similar to anyone living or dead is purely coincidental.
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
It’s unusual how your senses come back to you when you regain consciousness after a trauma.  You couldn’t see at first or maybe it was that your hearing arrived before you opened your eyes.  It felt as if a pair of sound cancelling headphones were slowly pulled from your ears.  Then followed your sense of touch.  Blistering cold hit your skin and seemed to seep in and nestle into your bones.  It felt sharp and painful against your cheek as if someone were drawing a scalpel across your flesh.  Pain surged to the forefront and with that, you finally opened your eyes.
It was dark inside the cabin of the plane, the only light being the natural light shining through the damage to the hull.  The window next to you was shattered and you felt cuts along your arm.  The seatbelt had you secured to your seat and it was cutting into your stomach, adding to the all-over pain in your body.  The air mask was still secure over your mouth.  Lifting your hand shakily to remove the mask, you took in your surroundings.
The wind whipping outside the plane was the only thing you could hear.  You listened for the voices of any passengers, whether they be whispers, cries, or shouts for help.  It was as quiet as a tomb.
“Br-Bruce?” you whispered, looking towards his seat.  The darkened plane made you strain your eyes in order to see him.  His body was slumped away from you, his bottom half held still by his seat belt.  You slowly reached for him and grabbed his arm, pulling him towards you.  His body slid against his seat before slumping towards you.  His eyes were open.  The air mask was over his mouth.  You pulled the mask from his head to see if he was breathing.  His mouth hung open.  He was dead.
“Oh god…” you whimpered, your body beginning to shake.  He was the only person you knew on this flight.  You didn’t know what to do or who to call out for.  “Hello?” you croaked as you lifted your head to look over the seat before you.  Your throat was scratchy and sore from the cold air.  “Can anyone hear me?  Help!!”  You were met with silence.
Surely someone had to be alive.  You couldn’t be the sole survivor in this crash.  Reaching down for the clasp of the seatbelt, you pressed the button and released yourself.  You took one last look at Bruce’s lifeless body as you crawled over him and into the aisle.  “I’m sorry,” you whispered to him, running your hand over the top of his head.
The plane was a mangled mess, suitcases and bags strewn everywhere from the impact.  Bodies were in the aisle and tossed across seats and hanging over the armrests.  “Is anyone alive?” you asked in a raised voice.
You stepped over bodies and suitcases, holding on to the seats on either side of you.  The wind from outside blew into the cabin, blowing your hair around your face.  You were freezing and quaking from the cold.  The clothing you were wearing was not enough to keep you warm.  Thankfully, you remembered the flight attendants taking coats at the beginning of the flight and placing them in a small closet towards the front of the plane.  Finding the closet, you pried it open, finding the heaviest coat inside, and put it on.
Making your way towards an area that had been split open from the crash, you continued looking around for survivors.  You listened closely for any voices, hoping and praying that someone else had survived.
Panic began to set in once you exited the plane.  Snow coated the ground.  Trees stood gangly and devoid of leaves.  The clouds above were thick and vast, hiding any trace of sunlight.  You looked around for houses or buildings...for any signs of life.
You trudged around the debris, searching for a path or road that could lead to civilization.  The village that you had seen from the plane couldn’t be far from where the plane had crashed.  Maybe you could knock on doors and use someone’s phone to call for help.  Or the black box...every plane had a black box.  Surely someone had been notified that the plane went down or where it disappeared from radar.
You continued walking around the plane, looking high and low for anything.  The snow crushed under your shoes.  You slipped and fell a few times from icy patches under the snow.  Pulling the coat tighter around you, you shoved your hands into the pockets, rubbing your body to keep them warm.
As you were coming back around to where you had exited the plane, a noise came from inside.  Suitcases rustled and fell over and you heard an audible grunt. Oh thank god, you thought, someone is alive!  Perhaps someone finally regained consciousness and is trying to get out and get help.  You ran around the plane and peered inside.
A man was hunched over a body, his clothing tattered and torn.  He was pressing on the person’s chest, shaking the body, perhaps trying to perform CPR.
“Hey!” you called out to the man, your voice filled with hope and relief that you were not the only person that survived.  The man stopped and slowly turned towards you.
What looked back at you was not the face of a survivor...or that of a human being.  Tousled hair laid in a tangled heap on its head.  The lips pulled back showing a row of jagged teeth.  The eyes were devoid of anything that could be described as a soul.  You listened as a low growl slipped from its mouth.  Its mouth and hands were covered in blood and only then did it dawn on you that it was not performing CPR...it was feasting on the body.
“What the fuck?!?” you yelped, falling backwards in the snow.  You scrambled away as the thing crawled from inside of the plane, advancing towards you.  It let out a loud bark and a snarl, its eyes absolutely feral.
You jumped to your feet, turning to retreat and let out a loud scream.  Two other things just like the one behind you blocked your escape.  They were equally as terrifying...eyes, claws, fangs, and tattered clothing.  What the hell were they??
You broke off to your right and ran towards the trees, hoping to lose them in the forest.  A loud howl sounded from one of them and the other two snarled deep in their throats.  Your heart was hammering in your chest as you ran as fast as your legs could take you.  Adrenaline pumped throughout your body.  You did not risk looking behind you for fear that it would hinder your escape.
The sound of their feet running in the sloshy snow began to increase and you knew they were getting closer.  Oh god, oh god, they’re gonna kill me!
You saw a flash of something from the corner of your eye before feeling a large form shove into you and send you flying into a hill of snow.  Rolling onto your back, you looked as a fourth monster stood before you, drool dripping from its teeth.  It wrapped its hand around the tree next to it and stared you down.
“GET AWAY FROM ME!!” you yelled.  The other three that had been chasing you joined up with the fourth and you knew that you were no match for all of them.  Your heart beat wildly and you were frozen with fear, not knowing when they were going to pounce.  One of them lunged forward, its hand gripping your ankle.  As it leered over you, it let out a howl...and you screamed.
“Stop!” a voice sounded from behind the beasts.  All four creatures stopped and turned towards the voice, standing straight and obedient.  They parted and allowed the person to approach.
Person...the thing that approached you was not a person, but also was not like the feral animals that had been chasing you.  Your eyes went wide and your mouth dropped open as a hunchbacked figure started hobbling towards you and the creatures.  A large black cloak covered its body.  As it came closer, you noticed long, thin arms...a humped back with a rippled form...and thin legs that ambled slowly towards you.  The creatures watched the thing walk past them and closer to you.  The face was grotesque, jagged teeth sticking out from under gray lips.  The skin was pale and appeared sickly.  An intense odor of fish and sweat formed around it.  You had to breathe through your mouth to keep from gagging.
“Are y-you okay?” the thing asked, hobbling closer to you.  Panic and adrenaline still surged in your body and you crawled backwards to keep distance between the two of you.  He noticed and stopped, slowly lifting his hands in front of him.  “Don’t be sc-scared,” the thing stammered, “I won’t hu-hurt you.  And the lycans...won’t hurt...you ei-either.”
You looked back at the four monsters that stood behind the hunchback.  They stood still, snarling and breathing heavily.  The wind rustled the hair on their heads.  The thing before you took another step forward and held out his hand.  “My name...is...Salvatore Moreau,” he said, beckoning you to take his hand.
You stood on your own, falling backwards a few steps in order to keep your distance.  Moreau whimpered and bent forward, taking a step back in order to respect your boundaries.  “I won’t touch...you...I don’t...w-want you to be...afraid of m-me…”
His words made you lessen your defenses a bit.  He looked like a monster just like the wolf-like creatures behind him, but none of them advanced on you or tried to harm you.  You finally found your voice.
“I was in a plane crash,” you murmured, unsure of what to do next, “I don’t think anyone else is alive…”
Moreau looked back towards the wreckage and then over at the things behind him.  Upon seeing one of them covered in fresh blood, he turned back towards you.  “My lycans...sm-smelled fresh blood...they always run...towards...fre-fresh blood…”
You winced at the man’s deformed figure and his stuttered ramblings.  Who were these things?  Where the fuck were you?
“Can you help me?” you asked warily, taking a step towards him, “is there a phone? Can we call for help?”
Moreau bent forward in a coughing fit and retched.  Green vomit gushed from his mouth and into the white snow.  Steam rose from the vomit and you couldn’t stop yourself from gagging and putting your hand over your mouth.  He heaved a few more times before looking back at you.  “I’m sorry,” he apologized, “the fish...and my body...they don’t get a-along…”
What the fuck is going on, you thought.  Was this an area that had fallen victim to radiation or poisoning in the water system?  You tried to calculate in your mind how far away you were from Chernobyl...maybe what was going on here was similar to what went on there all those years ago.
“The only...ph-phone is at Alcina’s castle…” Moreau continued.
The castle?!  The castle that you saw from overhead?!  This was perfect! Maybe you could call for help and find your way to the embassy in this country and let them know that you were on a plane to Moldova.  Surely the airline will wonder why their plane did not touch down at its destination and come looking for survivors.
“Can you take me to the castle, Mr. Moreau?” you asked, the first ounce of hope shining through.
“What the fuck is going on over here?!?!?!”
A gruff voice sounded from behind the lycans and all of you turned towards the sound.  You watched as a man trudged through the snow, making his way over to the motley crew.  He wore a black wide brimmed hat and a long brown trench coat with a tan shirt and brown pants underneath.  A massive hammer sat across his shoulder with one hand gripping the long handle.  The man’s gaze went from each lycan to Moreau...and finally resting on you.
“Well...who do we have here?” the man asked, pushing his way past Moreau.  Upon closer inspection you saw that the man wore a pair of rounded lens sunglasses.  You heard the clang of metal hanging around his neck as he moved closer.  An amused smile spread across his mouth.  You cleared your throat audibly.
“My name is Y/N and I was on the plane that crashed a few yards that way,” you murmured, pointing back towards the wreckage.  Despite not being able to see his eyes from behind his sunglasses, you could feel his gaze.  It was piercing, searching...as if he could see deep inside of you.  It was equal parts unnerving and exhilarating, although you couldn’t pinpoint exactly why.
“Is that so?” the man asked, swinging his hammer around and setting it down in the snow.  He stepped in front of you, holding out his hand.  You kept your gaze on his face as you placed your hand in his.  “My name is Karl Heisenberg,” he greeted, lifting your hand and pressing a kiss on the back of it.  You shivered at his kiss,  not knowing what came over you.  It felt as if electrical charges flowed from his lips and down your skin, making your flesh erupt in goose bumps.
“Poor little pussycat,” Heisenberg remarked, looking you up and down, “the wreckage looks unbelievable.  You must be positively traumatized…”
You nodded your head and lowered your hand back to your side.  A gust of wind shook you to your core and you tightened the coat around yourself.  “Umm...yes...Mr. Moreau here was telling me that there was a phone nearby...we could call for help…”
Heisenberg slowly turned his gaze back towards Moreau.  You looked past him and saw that the deformed man cowered under Heisenberg’s gaze, taking a step backwards as if contemplating fleeing.  Heisenberg turned back to you and flashed you a reassuring smile.
“Of course, my dear,” Heisenberg said, reaching to pick up his hammer, “come with me and we will surely find aid and assistance in the village…”
“We could ask Mother…” Moreau began, taking a step towards you and Heisenberg.
“Shut up, you freak!” Heisenberg snapped at Moreau.  Your jaw dropped as you looked between the two men.  Moreau bowed his head and retreated a few steps.  You felt sorry for the poor man as you looked up at Karl Heisenberg and started to feel disdain for the man.  Moreau was about to offer advice and was met with hostility.  The poor man was not pleasant to look at, sure, but from what you could tell, he was harmless and seemed sincere and ready to help.  You would sooner ask for Moreau’s help than Heisenberg’s help at that point.
“Thank you, Mr. Heisenberg,” you began, “but Moreau was telling me of a phone in a castle not far from here that I could use…”  But as you were about to continue, Heisenberg held his hand up to silence you.
“Forgive me for my brash tone,” Heisenberg interrupted, “but my brother here does not know what he is talking about.  Please, if you would accompany me to my factory, I have a working telephone there that you can use…”
You felt a growing sliver of fear in the pit of your stomach.  The man before you was charismatic and confident, but there was something off about him.
“I think I’ll follow Moreau…” you murmured, moving around Heisenberg to go to Moreau.  A sudden movement and Heisenberg’s gloved hand wrapped around your arm, stopping your retreat.
“Oh, no, ma’am...I insist you come with me…” Heisenberg growled.
You tried to pull your arm from his grasp, but his fingers only tightened.  His grip began to hurt.  “Let go of me,” you said, trying to pull away.  He jerked your body closer to him as he looked down into your frightened face.
“There is no use arguing or putting up a fight, pussycat,” Heisenberg leered, “you’re coming with me…”  And with that, he released your arm and swiftly wrapped his arm around your waist, hauling you against him, and walked back from where he came.
“MOREAU!” you screamed as Heisenberg marched away with you in tow.  Heisenberg turned towards the man and shot him a murderous glare.  “You keep your mouth shut about this…” he spat at Moreau, “...not a fucking word or I’ll kill you…”  The hunchback only nodded and bowed his head.
“STOP!  LET GO!!  MOREAU!” you shouted, wriggling against Heisenberg’s grip on your waist.  The feeble man only stood there helpless, looking down at the snow.  His lycans began their retreat, disappearing into the forest.
“I’m sorry,” you heard Moreau whimper as Heisenberg dragged you off.

Chapter Seven: Blush
The first feeling upon gaining consciousness was ouch. Even opening your eyes made your muscles throb. The slow realisation that you were in the base’s med-bay, lying in a bed, came to you in waves. First, you let out an internal groan. Then, you let out an actual groan, as you tried to hoist yourself up to a sitting position.
Your body objected, rushing your limbs with an aching sort of pain that felt like you’d been training for 48 straight hours, but nevertheless you managed to sit up. The bay was quiet and collected, like a library, and only a few beds were actually occupied.
You felt her before you even saw her—Leia strolled round the corner then, eyes fixing upon you instantly. She gave you immediate comfort, despite your internal bruising and the anxiety that had started to bubble within your gut when you thought about what you’d just done.
The cat was out of the hypothetical bag. Your Force abilities weren’t just known now; you’d given the base an entire fucking demonstration. Brilliant.
“That was quite a show,” Leia said as she approached your bedside. You gave her a tired and half-hearted smile. “Thank you,” she added, and the seriousness in her voice was apparent. You nodded at her in response, not yet knowing what you could even say.
There was a silence that radiated from her—an intelligent and knowing quiet that told you all you needed to know; if you hadn’t of done what you did, many would have died. The base would have been all but destroyed.
“Are you okay?” she asked then, trickling her kind words over you softly.
“I feel like I’ve been punched all over my body, repeatedly,” you let out. A small scoff burst from her lips.
“I understand. The Force takes a lot out of you,”
“You could say that again,” you replied, testing out the movement of your arms. You stretched them out slowly, and your elbows clicked noisily. “Is everyone okay?”
“Some are more shaken up than others, but everyone’s just fine. Thanks to you,” Leia said, raising her brows at you in understanding. “Dameron’s waiting outside,” she added, causing you to whip your gaze to her suddenly. You let out a groan in pain as you brought a hand to rest on your stiff neck.
“Dameron?” you winced. Leia only nodded.
“I’ve never seen him be so proactive. He carried you here after you collapsed,”
You looked to your lap, overcome by a feeling half-way between wanting to vomit, and wanting to smile. Sure, you’d just revealed your gift and saved the damn Resistance, but you’d fainted afterwards—embarrassment wasn’t something that you dealt with well, as much as you shouldn’t have cared.
“Great,” you whispered to yourself. Leia let out another comforting chuckle, before placing a reassuring and gentle hand on your shoulder. You looked at her then, not even trying to cover up the absolute fear and anxiety on your face. Leia could feel your Force; she would have known your true feelings even if you had the strength to try and hide it from your expression.
“Shall I tell him to come back later?” she asked, but you were already shaking your head.
“No, no. He can see me,” the confidence in your tone was more prominent than you’d expected it to be, but maybe it was because it was him. It wasn’t Heidi or Lynx, who, as much as you liked them, were still closed books. Poe, though—
You already shared a room. What was one more?
Leia left after giving you a small nod. You took the few seconds it took her to leave the med-bay to mentally prepare yourself. You needed a nap, or ten naps, and you needed to keep it together. You’d never used your Force this way, nor had you been expecting to. The entire situation was a lot to take in.
But everyone was fine. You were fine. And that’s all that mattered.
Poe bound in before you could even slide yourself up the bed to lean against the wall. The first thing you noted about him was his expression; it wasn’t what you’d been expecting. His eyes were wide, his brow dotted with sweat, his shoulders hunched and tense and rigid. Maker forbid, the pilot was scared.
He grabbed a chair on his way over and sat down on it immediately, tucking himself in next to your bed as you fumbled with sitting.
“I’m fine, Dameron,” you said, as an involuntary chuckle escaped your lips.
“You sure?” he questioned, just double-checking. You nodded at him firmly, and then he visibly relaxed. He let out a large sigh of relief, leaning back in his chair and wiping his forehead with the sleeve of his jacket. “Had us worried there,”
“Had you worried,” you replied, shooting him a smile. It felt good.
“Hey, you’re the one that blacked the fuck out,” he let out, and you bit on your tongue as a wave of anxiety rushed through your gut. Dameron’s demeanour changed then, as an understanding settled onto his face. “Why didn’t you tell me you could use the Force?”
You swallowed uncomfortably, knowing that he’d obviously have questions. “Don’t take it personally. I haven’t told anyone before,”
“Why?” he repeated, looking at you with those big pretty boy eyes and delving deep into your damn soul. You didn’t realise just how hard it would be, being put in this position, but it was your own doing. You’d chosen to act.
“It was always easier to keep it a secret, okay? I wasn’t planning to ever use it in front of any of you, but—,” the breath hitched in the back of your throat as the image of the hurtling TIE hit your mind.
“The TIE followed Green-Two through hyperspace. It got hit and entered the atmosphere,” Poe explained. “They didn’t have time to realise what was happening and destroy it from the sky,”
“Yeah,” you replied, feeling overexposed and vulnerable and all of the feelings that you hated.
Your brain pelted thoughts at you then, as you tried to keep it together. It told you that everyone would look at you differently, even though you were all fighting for the same thing. It told you that you’d only become the brunt of another joke, that everything you despised about cadet life like this would be all-encompassing.
It told you that pilots would look at you like you had an unfair advantage; like you didn’t work to become as skilled as you were. It told you that Poe would think the same.
You fiddled with your fingers as Poe’s stare stayed glue to the side of your face. You didn’t want him to see that you were almost trembling, so you sucked it up. You forced yourself to perk up, to put on a blunt face, to ignore how close to screaming you were.
“I understand if you choose to take me off Black squadron,” you said plainly. Poe’s expression changed quicker than you could blink.
“Why the hell would I take you off my squad?” he replied. His squad.
“Unfair advantage and all that shit. Like I cheated or something,” you replied. Poe shifted in his chair and clenched his jaw.
“Did you use the Force on rank day?” he asked plainly. You immediately furrowed your brows at him, slightly angry.
“Fuck no. I don’t use it when piloting. I never usually use it—,”
“Then why the fuck would you take you off my squad, Ten?” he repeated, sterner this time. You let his words sink through your skin as you focused on calming your raging emotions. You were torn between kicking a wall, throwing a chair or crying on the floor like a baby. All three options sounded appealing to you.
“Even if you did use the Force to fly, I wouldn’t change your rank,” he added. “You’re a fucking good pilot. That shit can’t be learned just because you possess the Force. Unfair advantage my ass, Ten,”
The blush crept into your cheeks before you had the chance to look away. Poe’s lips curled into a small smirk—his most punchable expression. You had to speak away the tension before it consumed you.
“Can you go back to teasing me or horrendously hitting on me, now? All this mushy stuff is insufferable. It’s not like I fucking died,” you let out, trying to subvert his gaze away from your blotched cheeks. This was the second time the pilot had made you blush today—you didn’t want it to become a fucking daily occurrence.
You froze when Poe’s fingers reached out and touched your face. Your stare was upon him in an instant, watching the gentle way his eyes looked from cheek to cheek.
“I call you a good pilot once and you start blushing, huh?” he said lowly, sensually.
He was doing it on fucking purpose.
The redness of your face immediately elevated, but you’d grabbed his wrist and twisted his arm within seconds of taking in his words. He yelped in pain as you twisted his arm over the bed, causing him to stand from the chair and lean forward as you jerked him painfully.
That’s when you grabbed him by the collar, pulling his face close to your own and shooting him with a stare that only communicated one thing—death.
“If you want to keep this pretty boy face then I suggest you tread carefully, Dameron,” you said unapologetically, ignoring the pain in your limbs. Poe started to relax more now that your grip wasn’t on his arm. Hell, maybe he fucking enjoyed being threatened this way, because the smirk didn’t wipe off of his face at all.
“Has anyone ever told you that you’re hot when you’re angry?” he said it as clear as day with no hesitation.
You dropped him immediately, causing his upper body to whack onto the mattress and spring back into his chair. He fell back into the chair and almost twisted onto the floor, but he regained his balance as chuckles fell from his lips boyishly. “Hey, you asked for this,” he said, raising his arms defensively at the unamused look on your face.
You pinched the bridge of your nose quickly, clamping your eyes shut as the hammering heartbeat beneath your ribs all but consumed you. “You—you—,”
“I really rile you up, don’t I?” Poe cut you off, crossing his arms smugly as you started to calm down slightly. You composed yourself as best as you could, not removing your angry stare from his pretty boy face. He thrived off of this, that much was certain. But it was true—you had just asked for it.
You just hadn’t expected reacting this way when your guards weren’t all the way up. There was something about being here with Poe, alone, after knowing that he’d been the one to place you on this bed himself, that hit you harder than you’d ever fucking admit.
These weeks hadn’t exactly been easy; being in the Resistance was literally the hardest job in the galaxy; but Poe had been a constant that you were only now realising. He was there when you went to bed, he was there when you woke up. His smug face was there whenever the subject of sex arose, or whenever he was ready to push your buttons, but his anger and rage was there whenever someone crossed you, as well.
Maker, it was almost like he cared.
And you weren’t used to that. You weren’t used to that at all.
Apparently, all of your thoughts had just made themselves known through your face, as Poe let out a soft scoff, eating up your expression.
“I’ll take that as a yes. What can I say? There’s no one like me,” he spoke so easily, so happily and upbeat. You could tell he was just trying to tease you more, but he was right.
“There is no one like you,” you repeated his words, jaw clenched. It wasn’t a compliment, and he knew that.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Poe said, waving his hand in the air. He leaned forward then, perking a brow at you questioningly, overly confident to the point that you were almost jealous of how open he was. “Does this mean there’s a tiny, minuscule, microscopic part of you that actually likes me?”
You rolled your eyes immediately, as you began to twist your legs to dangle over the side of the mattress. You placed your feet on the floor gently, applying pressure to them to see if you could stand.
Poe stood quickly, pushing back the chair as he got out of your way. You stood, leaning against the bed for subtle support, but other than the aches and internal bruises in your muscles, you were just fine.
“Don’t hold your breath, Dameron,” you said, as you started to stroll towards the med-bay exit. Dameron was at your side, cautiously staying close while also somehow keeping his distance. He was hyper-vigilant to make sure you weren’t about to fall.
When you both reached the door, Poe gently took hold of your forearm. All prior playfulness was gone from his face. “Thank you, for stopping the TIE. A crash like that... it would have ruined us,” he said sincerely.
“We’re all fighting for the same thing,” you replied. “I’m glad I could be of service,”
He smiled at you genuinely, and you couldn’t stop the warm feeling in your gut from spreading all over your body. As much as he teased and toyed and you had this back and forth; somewhere between hatred and likeness and flirting and fighting; you were both fighting the same war, performing the same jobs, living the same life.
He nodded once, before the two of you made your way down the corridor slowly. He stayed at your pace, not complaining as you got used to your creaky and stiff limbs or winced at the way your body pulsed with every step.
“So, no chance of a beer tonight, then?” he spoke up, perking a brow at you. You perked one back at him as an unexpected smirk curled onto your lips.
“I exposed my Force abilities, moved a crashing TIE with my mind and blacked the fuck out today. I think I’ll take a fucking beer,” you said. Poe chuckled to himself and you couldn’t help it when you joined him.
Slowly, he brought his arm to wrap around your shoulders. He shoved you into his chest playfully, just once, before gently pushing you back and removing his grip from you. “That’s what I wanted to hear,”
You and Dameron headed for the dorm together, shoulders often swiping against each other. Tension still hovered in the air, but it was as if both of you were slowly getting used to it. Maybe that was something that should have been scary to you, but when your Force wrapped itself around Poe when you both entered your dorm, exposing the gentle and fond way he was thinking of you—
All you felt was peace.

Request:  Anonymous - “Reader x Lena. Angst with a happy ending. Lena & Reader have been dating on the down low for a while when James decides he wants Lena back, maybe reader walks in on James kissing Lena in her office and leaves assuming Lena is cheating”
Notes: This is my first request writing, so I hope you guys like it. Thank you so much for your support. You guys are great. Part 7 would probably be out on Monday since I have a shoot tomorrow. I hope you guys have a great day. I’m open to any suggestions, comments, feedbacks or request.
The smell of pancakes surrounded the kitchen. The sunlight was slowly coming in. As the cold of the penthouse hit you. The soft sound of the jazz coming from the speaker at the side of the stone. Barefoot on the floor, you did a small dance moving from the stone to the coffee maker, only to be caught by arms hugging from behind making you melt on the embrace.
“Good morning, Love” Lena commented as she kissed your head, tugging you closer, resting her hands in your stomach, under your shirt.
“Good Morning, honey” Turning around, you responded. Laying a small kiss on her lips, only to be pulled down for more, when you pulled away.
Both of you with only shirts and underwear on, after a long night, stood there embracing each other, until Lena’s A.I. spoke up “Ms. Y/L, if the pancakes are not turned over in 1 min exact, they would be burned”
Lena released a laugh that lit the apartment, making you pout as she did. Walking over to the stone you pulled away from her embrace, and she shocked her head walking to get coffee. After you moved the pancakes to a plate from the stone, she stole a kiss from you, erasing the pout and putting a smile on your face.
“You are incredible, you know that right?” She whispered in your lips as both of you pulled away.
You responded shaking your head as you gave her, the breakfast you had prepared. The blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes were placed carefully under a mix of berries accompanied by a small bowl of parfait on the side. “Bon appétit, nerd”
“Même amour” She claimed, giving you a small chaste kiss, before starting to eat.
The two of you spend the rest of the morning before going to work, giving small kisses, hugs, and affection as both of you did your things. You walked out of the door first, after receiving a call from Maggie, your boss, as she needed you on a scene. Lena leaves not long after, with the same happy expression on her face as you did.
The National City Police station was completely out of control, officers walking up and down asking questions and bringing multiple people for petty crimes. Maggie and the Captain taking cases while trying to figure out the incident of this morning. As they pressured you to get results of the scene as you worked as fast as you could.
Lena and you messaged through the day, every day when you started dating. Little check-ups on each other and small messages of affections were passed through the two of you. But today you hadn't had the chance to check your phone, and neither did it ring during the day. It worried you, taking you out of your head, Maggie dragged you out of your lab, as she spoke to you. Both of you shared a look before you were both rushing out on her police car. “There was an attack in LCorp”
Arriving at the LCorp building, to be met with the site of multiple police patrols surrounding the building. You guys entered to be met with multiple yellow bags on the floor and the lobby trashed.
Kara as Supergirl, Nia as Dreamer, Alex, and a tall black guy, all standing with your girlfriend talking. The two of you approached them, jogging and grabbing their attention.
You immediately looked at Lena, as you blurted out “Are you okay? Are you hurt? What happen-”
“I’m fine, it was just in the lobby” Your girlfriend interrupted you, as she hugged you, pulling away too soon for both of your likings. But Lena wasn't a person of much PDA if you guys weren't with your closest friends, so you two kept your relationship on the low.
One of the officers went to move a body only to be stopped by Maggie’s shouting “Don't touch that”
You closed your eyes as you felt the yell in your ear. Kara, Nia, and Alex were about to laugh, while the tall guy observed you confused. Maggie returned her attention to the group speaking.“Supergirl, Dreamer can you walk me through what happens as Y/N does her thing”
“Yeah, sure” You nodded, before smiling at all of them with a small wave as you put the gloves on, Lena and you connecting glances, making you blush before walking away. While Kara and Nia responded.
Doing your work, as you collected evidence and examined the crime scene. Kara and Nia had left after briefing Maggie with what had happened. It had been a fight between two robbing gangs, only to be stopped by the police. After they had killed 5 people, three gangsters, and two securities, and left 12 others in the hospital.
Finishing your work, you glanced to where Lena was now standing alone with the same tall guy. He hasn’t left her side since you guys arrived. Maggie now stood beside you as you briefed her with the evidence of the scene, only to glance at Lena again when she walked into the elevator with Jess and the man. You said moving your head in her direction asking your brunette friend.“Who's that?”
“That's James Olsen and he is… I think that Lena should tell you that” Maggie responded as she patted your back, slightly pushing you towards the elevator. You furrowed your eyebrows and looked at the Latina confused as she simply shrugged before walking away with your box of evidence.
“Ohh, Okay” You murmured as you walked to the elevator. Grabbing your phone checking the time to be met with ‘5:30 pm’ on the top of it. You shocked your head as an idea came into your head.
Maybe you could make dinner at your apartment, and pack a few things to make a picnic with your girlfriend. Some Canelones of spinach and cheese, with a bottle of Lena’s favorite wine. Maybe a strawberry cheesecake for dessert.
After 5 months of dating your heart would burst every time you saw your girlfriend, Lena had won your trust, your love, your mind, everything. You would give her anything she wanted, she became your everything. You just wanted to burst it out but you were scared to saying ‘I love you’
The elevator stopped and you walked inside, going straight to Lena’s office. Jess was talking to one man, a scientist you could guess because of his white lab coat. You walked to the door only to be met with the sight of Lena almost sitting on the desk as the tall guy, James was in front of her. Both of them kissing.
Your heartbeat stopped. Your breath got caught in your throat. Your eyes became watery falls. Your legs and hands became paralyzed only to regain consciousness as you lowered your glance before walking away. In automatic mode you walked to the elevator, letting all of the feelings sink.
Your clouded mind made you lose focus, and work during the next few days. Days of crying and anger. Days you tried to work but failed, with work hours of more than 12 hours. Ignoring Lena at every cause. Even though you were ignoring her, the green-eyed woman wouldn't leave your thoughts.
Now standing in your apartment with bags and boxes of evidence and reports you had to fill out. With coffee in your hand and pizza in the other. Bags under your eyes and uncontrollable hair. You typed in your computer, as the results of the bullets came back. Only to be distraught by the sound on the door knocking remembering the coffee order takeout you had ordered a few minutes ago as your support.
Walking to the door you sighed waiting for the delivery person to give you, your precious order only to be met with the sight of your girlfriend, with your order in her hand and a confused and worried yet loving glance.
You sighed before speaking, with a cold tone, meeting her eyes as you walked inside grabbing the coffee you didn't finish. Lena looked into them, and all she saw confusion, sadness, anger, tiredness, and more. “Don't look at me like that”
Lena went to speak, only to be interrupted by you.  “Darling, how-”
“Just cut the crap if you are going to break up with me” You exclaimed, while angry tears left your eyes. Lena looked at you shocked as she entered the apartment glancing around to see the mess it was.
“I never stood a chance did I?” You commented as you seated on the barstool, massaging your temples, not giving her a chance to speak.
You cracked out, with an ironic laugh. Making Lena walk up to you, with wide eyes and fidgeting hands. “I mean in what world would a CSI top a national photographer, who was an editor in chief in CatCo and was part-time a vigilante?”
Before anything else could happen, Lena cupped your face and kissed you fiercely. You melted into her and kissed back. You stood up and Lena grabbed your waist pulling you into her, your arms went instinctively to her neck as both of you lost each other's embrace.
Pulling away for necessary air, you leaned each other's forehead and connected your noses, sharing an Eskimo kiss as she whispered in your lips. “Why would I want anything else, if I have the love of my life right in front of me”
Before speaking again, she took a chaste kiss from you. “I don't want anyone else, Love”
“But I saw you kiss the tall dark guy, James!” You said standing up, walking away from her. Pain slashed through Lena’s eyes as you did as the memory of the last week came through her mind.
Flashback - 4 days ago
Lena was standing in the lobby of her company, glancing eventually where you stood working as the CSI of the National City Police. Paying little to no attention to what her ex was talking about.
The green-eyed woman's heart would beat faster every time, you would smile up to her or even look her way. She was love-struck by you and the last 5 months of dating you had made her a lovesick puppy, but she was more than okay about it since it was because of you.
The black-haired woman had been on an interview with Kara, Nia and as a consultant James over the next project, LCorp was going to launch in the next month. When the fight had happened, Kara and Nia rapidly had made action when they changed into their superheroes attire, but James had stood by her as a bodyguard, it made her somehow uncomfortable as he tried to protect her even though she wasn't the one who needed its protection.
Bringing her out of her thoughts, her ex-boyfriend claimed. “Lena, Lena, are you listening to me?”
“Yeah, James. I am” Your girlfriend responded as she gave him a glance of annoyance which the tall man did not capture.
The photographer nodded and waited a few seconds before speaking up again, as he scratched his neck. “Can we talk in your office, Lena?. Is kind of important”
She looked at him, and over his shoulder saw you, distracted with Maggie working before she responded with a polite smile. “Sure, James”
“Jess, can you check on Mr. Hernandez report” Lena directed to her assistant, as the three of them walked to the elevator.
Standing now inside of the simple and beautiful white office, Lena listened as her ex-boyfriend spoke. “Well Lena, and if you want me to stay. I will, I will do everything to get you back”
But the truth was that the scientist's mind wasn't on the conversation, she was thinking about you. How to tell you she loves you. How to give you all the world. With now the idea of the perfect date, the green-eyed woman came to her senses as she saw the closeness between her and the vigilante.
Lena was about to speak only to be caught by her ex’s lips. She became paralyzed and pulled away after the shock felt of her.
Pulling away from James, before slapping him. As she exclaimed ”You do not have the right to do that, Mr. Olsen. Especially when I'm in a happy and healthy relationship with the love of my life. Now leave James, before I make security take you out and I filed a restraining order”
The tall guy looked at her in shock, before apologizing with tears in his eyes. Walking away immediately.
Lena grabbed the tissue on her table before cleaning her lips. Without taking you out of her mind. How would she explain this to you? Was she going to lose you?.
Flashback ends
“So you didn't kiss him?” You said, your voice coming out as a scare and quiet whisper as both of you sitting on the couch. Tears coming down.
Lena with tears in her eyes, and fidgeting hands. She responded by cupping your face as she cleaned your wet cheeks. “No, Love. I don't want to kiss anyone else but you”
Her heartbreaking at the side of you begins vulnerable. Almost immediately you made her stumble on the couch as you cuddled into her. Clinging into her not wanting to let go. Scared she might go away if you do.
“Don't ever leave me” Coming out as a murmur from you, after you calmed down. Now blankets on top of both of you.
Lena as a response only brought you closer to her before kissing you softly. “It's always going to be you, darling”
Both of you stayed in your embrace, as the time passed. Having small affections during the way. Kisses and sweet words were exchanged. Catching up with the last few days you both stayed.
“I love you” Lena whispered in your lips after a long kiss. Both of you entangled in the other, having an intimacy that not only happens in bed but when you two are together.
You stumbled and looked at her astonished by her confession. Your heart busting out of your chest as you were left without any words. Lena looked at you scared, now with a frightened glance of your reaction as she tried to pull away from you.
You noticed her change, and immediately kissed putting all your love in there. Melting in her embrace as she pulled you closer. After the breathtaking kiss, leaving you both without breath, panting looking at each other, you spoke softly as you left small kisses around her face. “I love you too”
Lena's reaction was to pull you into a caring kiss, just to be broken by both of your smiles as you both looked into each other's eyes. With eyes and hearts full of love the two of you claimed at the same time “I love you”

We’ve got he--r
Stay with us Y/nnnn
Come on, try anythin--
Oh, thank go-
Words swam in and out of your head, floating in front of you and into your ears. Voices shouted from either side of you at some point. You could feel yourself slipping into some type of unconsciousness, with bright white light shining through your eyelids. You could hear Peter’s voice mix in with your parent’s voices. You could hear May’s voice, and through some type of veil, you could listen to Uncle Ben’s voice as well. Sure that you were hallucinating, you tried to open your eyes but blacked out before you could try….
You regained your consciousness at some point, your brain making sense that you could not move your body. Which meant you were unable to roll your eyes. But you could feel things. The blinding sorts of pain in your stomach and right thigh. The rough material of some type of gauze covering your entire lower body. Your back bare, with your front covered in a flimsy cloth. And for a quick moment, you thought you were back in the van, with kidnappers and terrorists. And the thought alone made you pass out again…
The last time that you woke up, you were hit with a multitude of sounds and noises. Carts being pushed, metal creaking, glasses clinking. You could hear voices as well. The soft drawl of some lady next to you, one that you vaguely remember. A comforting voice, one that you were familiar with because she woke you up in the mornings. Your mom. Another deeper voice was trying to calm her down—your dad. A worried, yet the firm say that you knew since you went to her house every other day. Aunt May.
But one specific voice was loud and clear to you. High, slightly cracked, chocked up. A voice that you could recognise even if you were half dead. A voice that you grew up with, a voice that was by your side for years. A voice that now seemed to be crying softly from the other side of the room.
So with whatever energy you had left in you, you opened your eyes and whispered. “Peter”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Peter”, Peter said, shocked, staring at your body. “Did she just say, Peter?”
The doctor nodded, putting his hand on his shoulder. “Yes, she did, I believe. Are you her boyfriend? Or a family member?”
Peter shook his head, still staring dumbfounded at you. “I’m her best friend.”
The doctor sighed. “Alright, well, here is what we know so far-”
“Wait, shouldn’t Mr and Ms Y/L/N be here? To get an update on their daughter?“Peter interrupted, trying to see where they were. The doctor sighed again.
“They had to go to a business meeting and told me that a lady named May Parker would be her guardian until they return in a couple of weeks.”
Peter’s mouth flew open. “They left her?”
The doctor nodded, looking at you sadly. “Yes, they did, but I will send them daily updates about how she is doing.”
Peter licked his dry lips, suddenly realising how parched his throat was. “Here, drink some water, and I’ll tell you how she is.” Peter took the plastic cup from him, drinking it down.
“So first of all, she is getting better. Our team of doctors had predicted that she would likely be in a coma for the next few days, but she has regained consciousness, and her fluids are good. Her internal organs are getting stronger, and hopefully, if all goes well, she should wake up for good in the next day or two.”
The doctor read his papers, nodding politely at Peter, who was visibly calmer. The doctor looked at his watch, tutting softly. “It’s late. I would advise you to go home. Get a couple of hours of sleep. You can come back in the afternoon.”
Peter looked out, confused when he saw the starting rays of sunshine come in through the window. He was so tired that he didn’t realise that he had been in the hospital for 9 hours. Peter looked at you, weighing his options. As if the doctor could sense what was going on in his head, he patted Peter’s back. “Visiting hours have been over since 3 am. But it opens up again at 11. Go and rest for a bit. It’ll do you good.” Peter averted his eyes to you again before he nodded, kissing your cold forehead lightly before he walked out, hoping to get some sleep or rest.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He didn’t get any sleep. Usually, if he couldn’t, he would call you or swing over to your house. Well, not usually. Ever since he started dating MJ, he wouldn’t even go to your home. And MJ never let him come over in the night, too paranoid that her parents would find Peter. Oh, and forget about patching him up after patrol. She would get sick at the sight of Peter’s bruises and injuries. One time, he even had to swing to the compound because he had been shot.
None of that would have happened if he had just been a good friend. Been a good best friend. If only he had not fought with you that day, not ignored you, then you wouldn’t be in the hospital with pipes going in and out of you.
Peter couldn’t shake his fear and paranoia, creeping out of his bed quietly, to not wake up May. Slowly walking to the bathroom, he looked in the mirror. Bloodshot eyes stared back at him. He ran his fingers through his hair, wincing slightly. Tears slipped down his face, little by little as he tried to imagine how worried you might have been. Soon, he couldn’t see anything, as salty tears fell into the sink infront of him. “Oh god, Y/N”, he said, voice cracking. He dejectedly went back to his room, grabbing his suit. Instinctively, he pulled it on, opening his window slightly. Jumping out the window, he didn’t even know where he was going. Somehow, he ended up back at the hospital, looking into your window. It was open, letting in the warm air into your room. He sighed, letting the mask fall off his face. He let the wind go through his curls, feeling it dry the lines of water on his face. Suddenly, he heard some noise from your window. Looking closer, he saw your eyes flicker open, and your voice walf over to him.
“You can come in, you know? Everybody has gone to sleep…”, you said, your voice cracked and scratchy from not using it. Peter just stood still for a couple seconds, too shocked to move.
You were alive! And speaking to him…
Jumping in, he landed softly, not wanting to cause a scene. “He-hey”, Peter said, stuttering. You smiled at him, tiredness showing on your features.
“Hey Peter, are you okay?”, you asked, eyes going over his own, how disheveled he looked.
“You-I, I’m not the biggest thing you should worry about Y/N! You-you were shot. Twice. How-I don’t-wha-”
You reached out to him, wincing as you moved your arm. Peter noticed this, running over to you. “Don’t-don’t do that, you can hurt yourself”, he said, worry evident in his eyes.
You sighed, sitting back. “Pete, why don’t you change out of the suit. I don’t want nurses to walk by and see Spiderman in my room… especially if you don’t have a mask.”
Peter nodded, pressing the small button on his suit that made it shrink up, revealing his clothes underneath. Peter didn’t say anything, but walked over to you, hands in his pockets.
“How are you feeling?”, Peter asked, sitting down gingerly at the side of your bed. You shrugged, not knowing what to say. A few minutes passes, the silence becoming suffocating. Almost simultaneously, you both said.
“I’m sorry”
“I’m sorry”
Looking at Peter, you saw him staring at you indercously.
“Why are you sorry?”
“Why are you sorry?”
Again, you both shut your mouths, and as easily as you could, you gestured to Peter to say something. “Why-why are you sorry? I’m the one who put you in danger Y/N! Yo-you could’ve died.”Peter rambled, eyes starting to glisten as he looked at your body, how those men had hurt you. “I-if I had just not fought with you, then you wouldn’t have walked out of the school, and I wouldn’t have had to give you the bag, and then they wouldn’t have targetted you. Y/N, I’m the reason you are in the hospital. I can’t-yo-you got so badly hurt, I can-no” By this time, the dam inside Peter had broken, as tears started streaming down his face.
You could feel your own throat start to close up, so you did the only thing you could think of. You opened your arms up, letting Peter crawl in. He kept his weight off you, so not to hurt you even more. You ran your fingers up and down his back, calming him down.
“It’s alright, Peter. I would have them rather come for me than yo-”
“No”, Peter said firmly, trying to mask the crack in his voice. “Don’t say that. You are far more important than me, you can’t even wish that Y/N”
You smiled sadly. “Peter, the world needs Spiderman. They don’t need me…”
“No no no”, Peter said, making you look at him. “So many people need you Y/N”
“No, they don’t, Pete. My parents don’t care. I mean, they aren’t here, are they? What is it this time? A business trip?”
Peter tried to object, but he knew that you wouldn’t believe him. “I-I need yo-”
“And don’t say that you need me, because you had no problem spending time with M-”
“I broke up with her”, Peter said hurriedly, wanting to get it out as soon as possible.
You nodded, feeling guilty as a small part of you rejoiced. “Good for you”, you said, emotionless. An awkward silence enveloped the air around you two again, but this time, it became too much. Out of nowhere, you started crying, choked hiccups and sobs coming from your throat.
“Y/N!”, Peter said, smoothening your hair.
“I-I’m sorry. I was just so sc-scared and I was sure I was going to die, and I just can’t do-” You said, hugging yourself softly, as you looked at him through blurry eyes. And you didn’t have to say anything before Peter hugged you closer, the last thing you saw was his brown irises before you dropped to sleep…
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dr Lee walked around the hall, looking at the different rooms before he reached Y/N Y/L/N’s room, and he had to clean his glasses twice to see what he think he saw. Hugging you, with your legs intertwined, was Peter. Your face snuggled into his chest, his arms were looped around you, holding you close. What was the most astonishing thing was how even your breathing and charts were. No patient who had ever gotten shot would’ve recovered so quick, but he could see something was different.
Carefully opening the door, he quietly watched as Peter stirred, eyes flickering open as he drowsily smiled, pressing a kiss to your forehead before falling back asleep.
Dr Lee sighed, smiling at them. “Oh, they are obviously in love….”

Summary: The world is a dangerous place now, but in the arms of the man she loves, she always finds security.
Tumblr media
Barbara's P.O.V
Shit. I miss when the world used to be good. It was never perfect but no doubt it were way better than now.
An zombie apocalypse, who could have imagined that this could actually happen? Who knew that one day I would be armed, with a "beautiful" wound on my leg, hiding in an abandoned store, running away from a horde of about fifty zombies, crazy and thirsty for some human flesh.
I got hurt entering here, there was a piece of wood that grazed my leg, but luckily I had some bandage on the bag, I tied it to my leg to stop the blood. I looked at my leg and sighed, frustrated with myself.
"What the fuck dressing did you do, huh? My man is going to be pissed"
I live with my boyfriend, well husband, wasn't exactly official but we are together, he's amazing with dressings, but of course, I never pay attention when he tried to explain it to me. I'm hiding, trying to calm my breathing and think of a new plan, I don't know if I'll be able to run with my leg like that, but I think partially, it's really my fault. I'm often on those situations, I have my skills but I might not be the best, I still remember when I meet my boyfriend, on this type of shit cliche situation, today I don't complain for being dumb back there..
We met a year ago, I was running away.. again. I remember going into a dead end street, my gun had only two bullets left, I managed to kill some of those brain eaters, but I had about ten still behind me. I was already out of breath and couldn't think of anything else.
It was all very fast, suddenly my hero appeared, super skilled, I can't say where he came from but he managed to cut the heads of some of them, cut one in half, he stopped in front of me and fired with a super powerful machine gun, spilling a little blood and a disgusting substance on both of us.
"Hey are you alright, princess?"
He spoke to me after all those butchers fell dead. I was in shock but in seconds, I regained consciousness and was able to notice the man in front of me.
Broad back, fair skin, incredibly neat curly hair, a sharp jawline that could cut my soul, kissable lips.. a beautiful ax, a weapons in the waistband and at least two powerful shotguns in the back. The sun was setting and the light reflected in his eyes. The brightest blue eyes I had ever seen. There was a small brown part in one of them, I had heard about cases of heterochromia, but it was the first time that I saw it right in front of me.
"Your eyes are so beautiful.."
He laughed softly and a little shy. The sweetest laugh I've heard. Oh God, he's so wonderful, I think I died and went to heaven and that angel came to receive me. Maybe I'm not too unlucky after all.. wait, what did I just said? Oh fuck, what a good way of cause a first impression. First you almost die then act like a dumb ass needy teen. I rolled my eyes realizing what I done and he touched my arm.
"Thank you, you're beautiful too.. but are you hurt? What are you doing all by yourself?"
I nodded looking down and blushing red like a tomato.
"Huh I'm fine. I was searching for a place to stay. I heard on radio there was a small group of survivors around here. I'm always alone, so I decided to look for it but I obviously didn't payed attention on the munition I had before risking my butt."
He giggled and soft touched my cheek, wiping away some of the dirty. Gosh, I'm not going to handle and he's not making it easy..
"So it's your lucky day, pretty girl. I am from that group of survivors. They always told me to go round and look for possible new survivors."
I looked at him frowning.
"Now it's my time to ask. All by yourself? Why?"
And he smirked, looking like a made a silly question. Your hot bastard.
"I'm a prepared person. Not bragging but I always check my munition"
Touchee. I crossed my arms looking at him, trying to keep my posture but I was really melting inside.
We heard a loud noise, making us concerned. He grabbed my hand and started walking.
"It doesn't seem far, we must walk. Let's go"
"Where are you taking me? I.. I don't even know your name?"
I stopped moving and he stopped looking a little mad then he sighed.
"I will take you to our shelter. I saved you, you can trust me. We both need a bath and some rest.. and I'm Henry."
He said smiling and I nodded starting to walk by his side.
That day, he took me to the survivors. There were at least four people, some couples and children, all of whom welcomed me very well. But despite that, I thought about leaving the next day, I was always alone and until then, it was how I wanted to be and I would be like this today, if Henry hadn't insisted that I stay. I said I would stay for some days but during that, he convinced me to stay for more weeks and when I realized, we were closer than ever. Actually, those days made me found love. One of the guys of the shelter was a priest before the world was destroyed, Henry and I decided to get married and so it happened. Simple but a beautiful ceremony.
After a few years, we both decided to leave, maybe it was not a smart idea in the current situation, but we were certain of it, so we did. It was difficult, at first from hiding to hiding, sleeping on uncomfortable places, sometimes without enough food for both, we almost died a few times but together, yes, we were unbeatable. But finally, we got a place, safe enough to call home.
Henry's P.O.V
One hour left. I trust her, she's a little clumsy but my girl knows what to do, I taught her some tricks when we met but still, my heart is desperate. Today I received a radio message, it was Stuart, a partner, we have known each other since I was part of a group of survivors, he provided us with food, ammunition and weapons from time to time, even now that I am no longer part of the group, he's a great friend. I always went to get it, alone, I didn't want to risk seeing my Barbara hurt. But today, Stuart said he couldn't come, because of some injuries, so I would have to go, but Barbara decided that her chance to do it this time.
"Barbara.. baby, you don't have to.."
I remember I said trying don't sound like I was doubting her capacities.
"Well on my mind, I do need. You always do that, I feel useless, I'm no princess in danger, i can do that"
I got closer touching her back while she packed her bag with "travel" supplies. She looked at me, touched my face and smiled. I love this smile.
"I'll be alright, I know that area is dangerous but you know I know the way and I had a good survivor teacher"
She said and wrapped her arms around my neck and I hugged her feeling defeated. She never had to say much to convince me of anything. I know she was feeling bad about me doing the hard work and I think she deserves a chance. I need to show I really trust her.
"I will be counting the seconds.."
I sighed and she smiled widely packing my lips many times. She grabbed her bag, her gun and went through the door but before leaving she looked at me one last time.
"I love you"
We both said at same time, making our hearts beat at same rhythm.
She gonna be alright, I know.. at least I hope.
Barbara's P.O.V
I heard a small noise that made me wake up. I dozed off for a while when I expected the horde to calm down and preferably leave. I got up and checked outside by one of the windows. Empty. Thank God. My leg didn't hurt so much anymore, but the fact that the street was clean was a relief to m. I wouldn't have to run, just be careful.
I opened my bag and ate a chocolate bar. Stuart wasn't lying when he said that had good things this time, I got things I hadn't ete in years. I left the store quickly after eating and started walking my way back home.
I was almost closer, I smiled seeing my home. Finally, safe house. when I got on the home's street, had three zombies, between me and my house. Great.
I tried to carefully pass behind them, I was almost there, but again, I didn't pay enough attention, I tripped over something and fell to the floor, over my injured leg, I couldn't contain the scream. They heard and were already walking towards me. F U C K M E.
I looked at my house. It's not so far, I can do it. I ran, fast as I could, my leg was hurting a lot, the bandage already red with my blood but I did it. I could climb the special secret passage through the wall and done. I layed in the grass for a second trying to recover my breath, closing my eyes, finally feeling safe then something fell on top of me. I got scared until I could open my eyes. A beast. A fluffy beast.
"Hey Kal, you scared me baby"
I hugged the big black and white American Akita. It's mine and Henry's dog, our loyal companion, our dog son. We found him on our away to find a new safe place, he were a little injured on the front paws. Of course we felt in love with him and took care of him, we had to keep him and we did.
I petted him a little more before getting up.
"Alright, mommy needs a good break now. Promise to play later. Where's daddy? He had a heart attack?"
Oh he will when see my situation. I walked to inside our house and pulled the food supplies on the kitchen. I was focused until I hear the shower on bathroom upstairs. I smiled.
"What a good way of relax, huh?"
I walked upstairs, taking off my clothes though the way. When I opened the bathrooms door, I was fully naked. Oh that vision. My man, all naked.. that furry defined abs, those strong muscles.. that round booty.. and that big veiny dick, shit, even soft he's huge.. I'm so freaking lucky.
I licked my lips and tried to close the door softly but i ended up making noises.
"Thought I had told you need to be stealthy"
When I turned around, he was looking at me, with those gorgeous eyes that left me speachless since first time. Then he's face changed to worried and I realized he were looking at my wounded leg.
"Barbara, what the fuck just happened?"
I rolled my eyes then got into the shower with him. Before he could say something, I kissed him softly. He kissed me back of some type of way that I could feel how worried he were. Was a intense kiss, our tongues battling against each other, oxygen wasn't this necessary for us at this point. He quickly grabbed me tight and gave me a little boost then I had my legs wrapped around his waist. We ended our kisses with soft pecks and smiles. I looked at him. He had one hand around my back and another softly rubbing closer my wound.
"Hey are you alright, princess?"
I smiled way more with his soft voice and nodded.
"Yes, now I'm safe and happy"

Soothing Touches
Summary: Hange suffered from a headache alone until Levi came to her rescue.
Note: My first contribution to Levihan community. Inspiration sprouted from my headache. Anyways, hope you’ll enjoy.
Link to cross-posting: AO3
Sitting on her wooden chair inside her messy laboratory, as Levi loved to call it, Hange puts her elbow on the table, fingers delicately massaging her pounding head. She cannot recall how did this headache start. Was it from her enthusiastic greetings to her subordinates this morning? No, because she is always like that. Was it from the experiment that she and Titan Eren did this afternoon? No, besides, she should not be the one who must have this excruciating pain because she was the one who conducted the experiment.
‘Was it from lunch?’ Hange asked in her mind, recurrence of the conversation she had with Moblit surfaces, realization dawning on her.
“Squad Leader! Take a break, please!” Moblit said exasperatedly to her, ignoring his plea as she continuously writes down the necessary materials for their new technology, the Thunder Spear. She's feeling giddy about this ever since they found research information about it upon raiding the Military Police Brigade. Hange intended to use this new weapon to penetrate the Armored Titan's armoury skin. It might just be wishful thinking, but she hopes that it will damage Reiner, or their efforts will all be in vain.
“I’m busy right now, Moblit. I need to present this to Erwin immediately.” Hange replied without removing her attention from the paper. She got a sigh in return.
“Just please, eat or drink something.” Moblit pleaded one last time. Feeling bad, she assured him that she will do it later. The man left with slumped shoulders after.
Now, when was that later again? She completely forgot about it. Ironically, a scientist like her who possesses vast knowledge about the human organ systems and the effects of neglecting your bodily needs like eating will ignore her bodies' humanly calls. She just wants to pound her pulsing head to the table. This happened to her quite an amount of times before, but stubbornness is just one of her innate characteristics.
I need to eat.
Hange took a deep breath, before standing up but regret instantly invaded her system. She felt her world spinning, her blurry vision even gets blurrier. She holds the edge of the table, finding support to regain her balance. She was quite successful with this one, allowing her to take steps to the laboratory's door. While walking, however, the pounding became insistent, feeling her pulses pumping at her temples. She felt that this might escalate, much worse, to migraine.  She wished she was wrong with this one though.
Once outside, Hange calculated the minutes she might take to get to the cafeteria downstairs. Luckily for her, her office is just located on the 2nd floor of the Survey Corps’ Headquarters. There are three rooms the size of her lab she will pass by to get to the stairs, which has 25 steps.
“5 minutes or so? That bad, huh?” Hange said to herself before placing her right hand on the corridor wall as a support for her excruciating journey to fill her hollow stomach. Every step she takes, her head will pound with more intense pain, blood pumping more rapidly.
She sometimes stopped momentarily to regain her composure, collecting herself via deep breaths, leaning her head on the wall, and saying words of self-encouragement. Hange wished that some soldier will pass by to call for help, but she still believes that she can reach her destination. She can do this, she said, Titans are more merciless than this.
However, the pain levelled up to the point where tears are now escaping her eyes, feeling like vomiting whatever content her stomach has even if it’s empty for hours now. Her eyes are now sensitive to the firelights the hallway’s torches are emitting, bowing her head so she cannot see it. She lost the ability to tell the time now, not knowing how many minutes have passed until she reached the end of the hallway.
Grasping the conjunction of the two walls with shaky hands, she lifted her throbbing head up with tears still running down her face. She expected to see a deserted stair for she already feels hopeless that she will see anyone who can help her. Hange already lost her courage moments ago. But it seems like her incessant fight for humanity’s freedom had paid off.
“Levi…” Hange said with a sniff, voice laced with gratefulness. Even in her headache mess, she can still recognize the emotion that painted Levi’s handsome face. But before she can open her mouth again, she lost consciousness, Levi’s panicked expression was the last thing she saw.
-o-
The next thing Hange saw was a familiar ceiling, free of dust and cobwebs because of the owner’s excessive cleaning habits. She remembers the moments she woke up to this ceiling in peaceful cockcrows, nights of heeded passion let her fall into undisturbed slumber. She recalls the warmth that always envelops her, accompanied by the early morning sunlight, drawing herself to the arms that constantly welcomes Hange, returning the affection she received in the process.
This time, however, the only light that illuminates the room she had grown to love was the fire coming from the lamp, swaying and flickering in an age-old dance. She heightened up her hearing senses, raindrops falling on the solid ground can be heard from outside with wind whistling its natural hymn.
Then, Hange observed herself if she still has that freaking headache. She has, but the pain becomes tolerable now thankfully. That’s when she noticed a firm grip on her left hand, transferring her gaze slowly to the man holding her.
Levi.
He is sitting uncomfortably on his small stool, his head laid upon the soft mattress of his bed, supported by his left arm. Hange silently hopes that his muscles wouldn’t grow numb. Unsurprisingly, for her, the man is sleeping. Getting up as silent as possible, she glanced to the bedside table to see her glasses placed there, grasping and wearing it to see properly.
With a small smile painted on her face, she transferred her gaze once again to the sleeping Corporal, her free hand unconsciously reached for Levi’s soft hair. She ran her hand through the soft locks, down to the man’s handsome face, caressing the flawless skin of his cheeks with her delicate fingers.
Hange knows that Levi is insomniac, his daily sleep just ranged in 2-3 hours. However, her mind cannot help but trace back to the moment she first saw an asleep Levi.
It happened in her messy room one rainy night. While sitting on her comfy bed and reading her small findings of Titans for that day, courtesy of Eren of course, Hange heard a knock that she grew familiar with.
“Come in, shorty! Cannot sleep, huh?” Hange smiled at an entering Levi dressed in his white long-sleeved shirt and black pants. The man just rolled his eyes at her and nod tiredly.
Upon reaching her bed, Levi spoke, “Move your ass a bit, shitty glasses.”
Hange just stared at him for a moment, worried about the bags under his eyes that are growing gradually, days with lack of sleep are taking a toll on Humanity's strongest. Moments later, she broke out of her reverie, put her notes on her bedside table and complied, letting the man settle beside her.
Levi had other plans though. Instead of placing his head on the comfortable pillow, he laid on Hange’s lap, facing her stomach and encircling his arms around her slim waist. Hange’s eyes widened like a saucer, mouth releasing an audible gasp, her hands instinctively move up as if she had just been busted by the Military Police.
“Oi, Levi! W-what are you doing?!” Hange exclaimed. The man in question just gazes up briefly at her before burying his face on her tummy. "Hey, answer me!"
"Shut up, shitty glasses. I'm trying to sleep." Levi answered with a voice muffled by her clothes.
“If you want to sleep, why on my lap, you clean freak?!”
“Tch.” Levi, tired of her shouting, removed one arm around Hange. He reached for her right hand, pulling it down to place it on his hair. Hange’s jaw dropped again.
“What the?! You want me to pet you, Levi?! Are you a cat or something?!”
“Just do it, four eyes.” Noticing the tiredness in his voice, Hange just gave up and give Levi a soft continuous rub. Minutes have passed by in silence, spent with her just staring at the man’s handsome and peaceful face. She knows that the raven-haired man isn't sleeping yet, so she decided to ask what was bothering her from the start of… whatever this is.
“I thought… you don’t want to sleep in other people’s presence?” Hange asked carefully, almost whispering.
It took seconds or even a minute before Levi spoke, his answer shook Hange’s world like no other.
“You’re not just other people to me, four-eyes.”
While Hange tried to calm her rapid beating heart and removed the blush that painted her face, Levi finally succumbed to a peaceful slumber.
Hange just laughed at the memory, feeling the familiar butterflies that love pestering her tummy. Her heart beats hastily like how it pounds inside her chest during that flustering scene. Her small smile widens, gentleness and adoration for the man beside her and holding her hand like it was his lifeline. She just stared at his sleeping face happily in tranquil when his lips suddenly moved.
"Draw me now, it will last longer," Levi said with his usual grumpy voice.
“Eh! When did you wake up?!” Hange yelled from shock. Damn it, she thought.
Lifting his head, Levi stretched his arm that he used as a support to remove its numbness. Hange just looked at him, blushing and admiring how the flare from the lamp accentuated his immaculate features. Then the man turned his head and looked at her, steel blue eyes staring straight into brown orbs.
Hange can feel the man studying every part of her, his eyes and expression unreadable. She can feel a lump forming in her throat, a bead of sweat ran down from her hair to her temple. Her hands that Levi’s yet to let go is getting clammy, which she is sure that the man had noticed. She can sense the brewing anger from the man as the hold in her hand tightened.
With her eyes hurting from not blinking, combined with the intensity from those blue eyes that she cannot already take, Hange closed her eyes and bow her head.
“I-I’m sorry if I made you take care of me again, Levi," Hange said lowly, guilt plagued her system in a record speed. “Moblit tried to remind me to take a break but I forgot. So yeah.”
“Ahh. As if that’s something new, four eyes. Now,” Hange suddenly felt fingers under her chin, lifting it to gaze up in her beautiful brown orbs. Their eyes met and she was captivated once more. “Does your head still hurt?”
"A little," Hange answered softly.
Letting go of her hand, Levi suddenly stood up, and said, “Move your ass a bit, shitty glasses.”
“It’s the second time you said that to me. But whatever,” Hange teasingly said, which Levi just scoffed at, and just move a bit like how the captain wishes. Levi sat and leaned his back securely on the headboard. What he did next shocked her though.
The man just tapped his freaking thighs, people!
Whilst Levi just stared at her expectantly, Hange is still processing what she saw, giving the man an incredulous look. And her eyeballs went out of its socket when Levi tapped his thighs again.
"W-What?! Are you kidding me?" She screamed, moving closer to the man to put her hand on his forehead, checking if he got the flu or something. "You're not even sick! What have you eaten to say those freaky things, huh Levi? I'm- "
Her rambling stopped when Levi held her hands at once, pulling her body closer to his, diminishing the distance between them. Hange released a yelp with the sudden movement and gazed up immediately to the Lance Corporal, seeing the intensity that his eyes always emit.
Realizing what he did, Levi grumbled under his breath, “Tch. Just fucking do it, four eyes, while I’m still in the mood.” Before she can complain once more, Levi continued, “Enough peevish.”
Hange just sighed and scooted a little further towards the edge of the bed, then lay her head where the captain wants it to be after. The man then removed the hair strands under her nape, making it sprawl out freely on the top of her brunette. Closing her eyes, she felt the man taking the glasses off her face before placing it carefully on the bedside table. Then a cool fragrant mint enveloped her senses, the substance that Levi always apply when Levi or she suffered from stress and sleep deprivation.
That’s when Hange felt it, cool, strong fingers pressing on her temple with a firm circular motion. Those delicate fingers then moved to her forehead, meeting in the middle, and slowly traced a line back to the side, whilst she hummed in glee as the pain slowly subsides. After this soothing pattern, Levi’s hands then transferred to the scalp of her unwashed locks, massaging her head on all sides in continuous presses. She let out a pleased moan as Levi massaged a particular spot, her head reeling with the satisfying pressure. Then Levi gathered her brunette locks in one hand, proceeds on tugging it in with careful interval, making her remember the time when Levi purposely made her look at him by holding her messy ponytailed hair atop of their horses before an expedition. She just chuckled at the memory.
“What are you laughing at, shitty glasses?” Levi asked, which Hange just giggled at. “Oi!”
“It’s nothing, Levi. I just remembered when you tugged my hair to call me an abnormal. Well, you’re not wrong though.”
“Tch. Did you also remember that I regretted that? Your hair is so fucking greasy! You didn’t even bathe that time, four-eyes!” While Levi grimaced with the memory, Hange just laughed her ass off.
Opening her eyes, she saw piercing but gentle blue eyes staring intently at her. Despite her upside-down view, Hange appreciates how handsome Levi looked, how even if he always displayed that nonchalant face, his façade will go down when he is with her. That even though she was the messiest person that the man ever encountered, Levi still stayed with her, treat her like she is the most important figure in this goddamn cruel world that they lived in. That inside closed rooms, Hange can freely strip her inhibitions and Levi won't judge but expressed genuine love and care for her.
Hange slowly reached for Levi’s face. Caressing his soft and flawless skin with her fingers, she saw Levi leaning down towards her, which made her closed her eyes again. She first felt his soft lips on her forehead, kissing her gently without minding that it was still coated by that minty substance he just used for her headache. Then he traced tender kisses to her nose, making her laugh a little as the action sends ticklish bolts to her cheeks, making them glow with sweet pink blushes. Levi stroked her cheeks with both of his calloused but caring fingers, before moving further.
With lips tingling in anticipation, Hange moved her head up slightly as Levi reached what he intended to devour. Then their lips met, slowly meshing and mingling with each other, both savouring the familiar and homey taste of one another. Hange's hands managed to snake around Levi’s head, fingers feeling the soft locks and baby hairs of his undercut. As she pulled him closer, Levi’s tongue knocks on her mouth, pushing its way to her hot cavern, relishing every part for his satisfaction. Hange hummed as Levi sucked on her tongue, electrifying delight immediately ran through her body. With pleasure reeling both of their heads, Levi and Hange continuously taste each other until the need for air arises.
Parting, Hange gets up and faces Levi, sitting herself up on the raven-haired man’s lap and welcoming her fully by wrapping one arm around her slim waist. Flipping her hair away from her neck, Hange placed her thoroughly kissed lips on Levi’s, battling for dominance, expressing their passionate love and deep admiration for each other. Pressing her body closer to his, his free hand managed to sneak under her shirt, caressing the warm smooth skin, pinching it softly as the atmosphere around them intensify. After a minute full of fervent kisses, they separate, foreheads pressed, nose touching, and heaving breaths mixing.
“You okay now, shitty glasses?” Levi huskily whispered on her still stinging red lips.
“A-huh, thanks to my clean freak, best service, no fees included. As if I’m paying him anyway.” Hange answered, snickering.
“As if you had the money to pay me, four-eyes. News flash, you can’t.” Then Levi moved to whisper in her ear, licking her earlobe before saying, “But I know a way that you can, no fees included.”
“Oh, hot shit, Corporal!” Hange cannot help but scream and laugh at the same time. Levi saying dirty remarks isn’t new to her, but due to the man’s flowery language, she is always amazed when he does. Besides, it’s only for her.
Pushing herself away from the man, she giggled and said, “C’mon Levi, I’m hungry.”
“You just fucking noticed, huh? I keep hearing that monster grumble when… Never mind.” Levi suddenly stood up and walked to the door.
Hange also stood up and laughingly followed the Corporal, “What ‘when’? Huh, shorty?!”
“Shut up, Hange.”
“Make me, Levi!”
As their bickering continues and their echoing footsteps match the sound of  the pouring rain, Hange sketched this rare and precious memory inside her now healing head. In the middle of their journey to the kitchen, they unconsciously held each other's hands. And Hange thought she will never mind another round of headache if she can feel Levi’s soothing touches again.

Snark Attack
Tumblr media
A/N: It was about time I wrote for my first love in the MCU. Definitely plan on writing more. Not my gif! Feedback’s most welcome as always.
Pairing: Tony Stark x Reader
Word count: 1430
Warnings: Foul language. Blood. Loads of snark, hence the cheesy title. Fluff?
...
Spots of blood on a dirt-covered floor were the first things you saw as you slowly came to consciousness. Your vision was blurry but you could make out your surroundings, an old warehouse.
Typical.
A sharp stinging pain on one side of your head could be felt where your kidnapper hit you with a rod that had knocked you out. The ropes cut into the skin of your wrists and ankles. You were tied to a chair.
Again typical.
The predictability of the whole situation made you roll your eyes. Now all that was left, was a scruffy looking guy walking in to threaten you, and get you talking. About five minutes later that happened too.
Damn, these guys sure were amateurs!
Your cocky self obviously underestimated the severity of the situation. But you were sure rescue was on its way. Any minute now.
A tall man with too many tattoos stepped in front, grabbed your face roughly, and looked at your wound, “ I got you good didn’t I, sweetheart?”
“If I say I’m used to it would you judge me?”
“You better start talking or I’m gonna make this worse.” he said, tightening his grip on your jaw.
“Define worse.”
Just then another man dressed in a crisp looking suit stepped in the warehouse and made his way over to you. He knelt in front of you and spoke in a calm voice, “You give me what I want and no one gets hurt. You understand?”
You simply stared at him with a poker face and eyebrows raised as if daring him to make a move.
“Guess not.”
He said standing up and motioned the previous guy. He grabbed something from the table and walked over to you.
You struggled against the restraints as you noticed it was an injection.
Your best guess was sodium pentothal aka truth serum.
There was very little you could do as the needle pierced into your skin, making you wince in pain.
The dose he gave you was strong as within seconds your vision turned black and you passed out.
When you regained consciousness this time, you were on your feet. They were tied with metal chains, so were your hands above your head. There was plastic laid out beneath your feet. You couldn’t identify any faces, everything was a blur of hazy colors and light. It was a struggle to keep your eyes open.
The injection was making you loopy.
“What is your name?”
You didn’t answer.
A smack hit the side of your face. The tangy metal taste of your blood filled your mouth.
“Answer me.”
“(Y/N) (Y/L/N)” you answered, speech slurring. You had to keep up the act.
“You work for Shield?”
“Y-yes.” you cracked a little smile before adding, “you really think this is my first rodeo?”
A blinding pain shot through the side of your thigh, as the man stabbed you with a knife.
You screamed in agony and screwed your eyes shut.
Your pants drenched in blood as you felt it trickle down your leg and onto the plastic.
“You wanna try that again sweetheart. I got all day.” The man threatened.
“So do I.”
He stabbed you again. This time aiming for the other leg. You were sure the knife hit your bone.
The pain was excruciating but nothing you hadn’t dealt with before.
Just then the warehouse door burst open and you saw a flash of red and gold. A fight ensued but you were hardly aware of it.
Your eyes closed at this point, you felt too weak, too sleepy. After a few moments, the chains on the wrists loosened and fell through and you stumbled right into Tony’s suit.
“Hey there daredevil. You hurt?” Tony’s voice came through the face shield as he held you firmly.
“No. I normally spurt blood from my legs. Are you done playing the hero?” you retorted, still drowsy.
Did he not see the blood-soaked sheet you were standing on?
“Okay let’s get you outta here. Hang on tight.” He said as he grabbed you by the waist and took off.
You blacked out instantly.
Clean sheets, fluorescent lights, IV drip. You woke up in the infirmary when the stab wounds in your legs started smarting.
A vase filled with your favorite flowers placed on the bedside table caught your attention. No one’s ever got you flowers before.
You were about to press a button that summoned the nurse because you were parched when someone knocked on the door.
“Come in.” your voice came out raspy from lack of use.
In walked Tony dressed in a band T-shirt and jeans holding a bag of take-out?
“How are you feeling?” he asked walking through the room like he owned the place and took a seat on the sofa adjacent to your bed.
“Well, my entire face hurts, these stab wounds burn like a motherfucker and I have a pounding headache. Apart from that, I’m real dandy. Why do you ask?”.
You didn’t exactly get along with Tony Stark. He had a tendency to get under your skin.
The man was arrogant, sassy and too full of himself. In that sense, you two were quite alike.
“I saved your life (Y/L/N). You’re welcome for the flowers too.” he retorted, shooting a wary glance your way before fiddling with the bag he’d placed on the table.
He sent you flowers? How would he even know they were your favorite?
“I thought rescue missions were well below your pay grade. What were you even doing there?” you questioned, guard still up.
“I was in Hill’s office when she got the call about your kidnapping. Thought I’d do her a favor. Plus I had to test some new features of Mark XLV.” he stated, matter-of-factly.
In reality, Tony had been enamored ever since you had accompanied the team on a mission to take down a Hydra base. Your combat skills impressed the billionaire, and unbeknownst to you, Tony had insisted to Maria Hill that you accompany the team on more missions.
You’d always dismissed his flirty comments as his way of getting under your skin; which he was successful in.
“You know you called me handsome when you were in that truth serum haze.” his signature smirk appeared as your eyes went wide.
“You must be deluded.” you defended yourself, and silently prayed he was making it up.
“Oh, I’m not making it up. Not when someone compliments me. Especially you.” his eyes dancing with humor, clearly enjoying the effect he had on you.
You huffed and crossed your arms over your chest as you glared at him. Damn it, he managed to get a rise out of you every single time.
“Why’re you really here Tony. It’s clearly not to make me feel better.”
This seemed to soften his smug self. He straightened up and walked over to your bed and sat beside you, careful not to touch your leg.
“I wanted to make sure you were okay. Is that so hard for you to believe?”
For the first time, you didn’t know what to say. Did he actually care about you?
You kept your eyes on the sheet covering your heavily bandaged legs. The silence in the room growing awkward by the minute.
“The team is concerned about you too. The guys ordered Chinese food and I thought since you can’t join us, I’d bring it to you in here.”
“Oh. That’s nice.” you cringed internally as you said it. That’s nice?
Tony stood up and brought the bag over to you and started leaving, probably felt his presence unwanted. You stopped him as he reached for the handle.
“Thank you for the flowers, Stark. They’re my favorite.” you said, giving him a slight smile and a nod.
He turned and gave you a genuine smile. One of those rare Tony smiles that weren’t for the cameras.
“The team’s celebrating tomorrow. I hope to see you there (Y/N). And don’t bring another guy.”
And there it is.
“Sure, I’ll swing by on crutches, so glamorous.” you retorted, rolling your eyes.
“I can carry you around and keep you in my lap if you want.” Tony said, the signature smirk coming right back.
“Goodbye Tony.” you pointedly stared at the door, failing to hide the blush on your cheeks.
“See you tomorrow sweetheart.” he closed the door behind him, leaving you alone to think about what just transpired.
You rolled your eyes yet again at ‘sweetheart’ but laughed and shook your head, as you reached for the take-out.
Chinese food, another favorite.

𝑻𝑰𝑴𝑶𝑻𝑯𝑬𝑬 𝑯𝑨𝑻𝑬𝑫 𝑺𝑬𝑬𝑰𝑵𝑮  you like this. Tears streaming, hair messed up from how many times you've run your hands through it, and your body quivering in dread. You were so lost. All you could think about is what you did wrong. You two stood in the kitchen for an hour now.
"What did I do, Timothée?" You sobbed, trying to wipe away tears, new ones replacing the old, "Why?"
"I'm sorry, I just...," he hesitated, "You just can't keep up with my life. I'm always away and you said it yourself, you want to see me more but you can't,"
"So that's what this is about? Tim, you've been in so many legendary movies to supply your life of luxury for at least another 30 years!" You were now angry, your emotions blinding you, "You're breaking up with your fiancé for a career that's plummeting??"
"Excuse me, plummetting? What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" Timothée paused and walked towards you and got so close, it frightened you as you bit the inside of your cheek, wishing you could turn back time.
"Everyone knows that your career is dropping. Your golden days are over, Tim. But you can't let go of that! Everybody knows it." You were now fighting back, raising your voice, "Maybe if you actually went on social media a little more, you could find article upon article talking about how everything is over. The roles you're booking are shit." You poked your finger at him angrily, an offended expression crossing Timothée's face.
"What the fuck do you know? I am one of the biggest names in Hollywood right now. This is what I've always wanted. You want me to throw away my dreams because you want to pump out a few babies and get married? I'm not meant for the white picket fence life that you dream of having!" his voice raised as well, his bare feet pacing across the wooden floor of the kitchen area.
You were now livid. You stomped towards the bedroom, wiping away the tears, no longer feeling like crying.
"Where are you going?" timothée asked annoyed.
"Stay there." You hissed in response, opening the door to your shared room and going right over to your bedside table and opened the top drawer and grabbed a magazine. A Hollywood gossip magazine. You had been meaning to bring this up for a few days.
You walked quickly back into the kitchen, slamming the magazine on the counter across from the one he was leaning against.
"Okay then, Mr. Hotshot, what the fuck is that?" You asked pointing to the cover of the magazine. It showed an image of Timothée with his arm around another girl - a pornstar - as they exited a limousine, the city behind them looking to be Los Angeles.
"Is that what you were doing on your 'work trip'?" You air-quoted, poison seeping from your mouth.
"Babe, you look way too much into this kinda garbage, you really believe this shit?" He asked, taking the magazine and slamming it back down.
"Then who the fuck is she, Timothée??!!" You were boiling over now, Tim seemingly doing the same thing. "WHO?" you pushed him back. You continued to push him until his back hit the counter edge.
"WE FUCKED, OKAY?" He yelled at you, pushing you gently back, "IS THAT WHAT YOU WANTED TO HEAR?"
Your world stopped. Everything felt unreal as you felt as if a million pounds was just added to your chest, feeling as if you couldn't breathe. The tears began to spill from your eyes again as your eyes met his. His were also brimming with tears. You two stood in silence, staring at each other, not even knowing what the other would say next.
"Did you really?" You finally broke the silence, your eye contact breaking as you looked at the floor.
There was a long pause, "Yes." He finally said.
You sink down on your knees, not even knowing what to say.
"It didn't mean anything, I swear-"
"Would you have ever told me?" You interrupted him, "Or would you have taken it to your grave?"
He stayed silent.
"Then why Timothée?" You were so heartbroken that your mind was going fuzzy, "Then why did you fuck a PORNSTAR??"
You couldn't help it, but you felt a wave of self-consciousness. He made love to her over you.
"Because you weren't there." He replied, guilt seeping from his words.
"Wow." Was all you could say. You stood up, brushing yourself off.
You then went back into the bedroom, grabbed a duffle bag from the closet, packing him some clothes, phone charger, toothbrush, etc. Storming back into the kitchen, you slammed down the duffle bag onto the ground.
"I want you out." Your eyes tearing up and your voice cracking, "Have fun with your porno slut, you asshole." You stood over the bag, Timothée staring at you in disbelief.
"Is this what you really want?"
"Just get the fuck out of my apartment. I'll get you the rest of your shit later. I just want you out." You were full-on sobbing at this point.
He stared at you blankly.
"Did I fucking stutter?" You cried, picking up the back and shoving to him, taking his arm, and dragging him to the door, "Get the fuck out!!" You screamed, shoving him out into the apartment complex's hallway and slamming the door behind you, your back against the door.
You sobbed harder, sinking down, your heart shattered, feeling so guilty for everything although you did nothing wrong. What the hell were you going to do now?
Tumblr media
It was several weeks since you kicked Tim out. The tabloids were everywhere, people wanting answers and interviews with you to find out what happened. Thank god Tim still respected your privacy, because you were never going to talk about that kind of thing with the press. He had sent a friend of his to pick up his things, trying not to talk to you. When he was sober at least. At least 4 times a week, Timothée would call you laving drunk voicemails, pleading you to talk to him and allow him to explain.
Just like tonight.
You sat on the couch watching a show in your sweatpants and sweatshirt, trying to pull your mind away from the fact that the person you wanted most wasn't there with you.
Suddenly your phone rang, making you jump, reaching over to pick it up. The caller ID was as to be expected.
You pushed the green button, pressing the phone up to your ear. You were silent for a second until you spoke up.
"What do you want, Timothée?" You muttered, just loud enough for him to hear and for the phone microphone to pick up.
"Baby?" you heard shuffling on the other line, "Baby, h-hey...," he said softly. Just as you had expected. Drunk.
"Do you need something?"
"I just... wanted to call. To just hear your voice. I just... god, I love you. I'm so sorry, baby, I-" he sounded so sad.
"I'm gonna stop you right there, Timothée." You sat up on your couch, "You say that you love me... just tell me that when you're sober, okay?"
"Baby, please don't go," he whined, desperate for a simple conversation.
"I have to. Call me in the morning."
"No, no, don't you dare hang up this call," he would say through his teeth, getting angry.
"Goodbye, Tim."
"NO, LISTEN, DON'T-" he was cut off from you pressing the red button that hangs up the call.
You sighed, not in the mood for the TV show that was playing anymore. You stood up, turning the TV off and walking back into your bedroom, slumping down on the bed. You pulled the covers over you as tears began to sting your eyes the more you thought about the conversation you were just having. How empty your apartment felt after he was no longer there. Fuck.
Soon enough, you fell into pain-numbing sleep, escaping from what seemed like an endless spiral of negative feelings.
Bang.
The first time you heard it, you were still in a sleep-induced state, thinking it was nothing.
BANG.
Okay, it was definitely something. You slowly sat up out of bed, your bare feet touching the carpet and patting over and out into the kitchen area, hearing the noise again.
"Open up, baby, please, come onnnnn, just open the doooor," a voice on the other side of the door. You didn't even need any hints to know who was on the outside.
"Open the fucking door, babe, I know you're in there," he raised his voice, banging on the door more. Now you had to open up the door before he woke up all your neighbors.
You turned the knob, opening the door a crack. Immediately the smell of alcohol permitted your senses, almost making you gag.
"What is it, Tim."
"Baby, please let me in, I just wanna talk, please baby, I need to talk to you,"
Jesus, he looked like a mess. His hair was messed up to all hell, bags under his eyes, a dirty sweatshirt and black sweatpants. He was pale and looked ill. That's when you spotted the open wound on his forehead. It looked like something you got when you got a bottle hit over your head. You didn't even want to know.
You sighed, thinking you were going to regret this later. You opened the door, pulling him inside.
"We're going to the bathroom," you said, his hand holding yours as you guided him to the hall, his body stumbling back and forth, trying to regain balance. You opened the bathroom door, sitting him on the counter.
A few seconds later, you got some disinfectant and a few other things to help make him look less...that. You took off his hoodie that had its fair amount of stains on it. After you had finally finished, you ordered him to take a shower to help him sober up at least a little bit.
You sat there reading a book on the bed, waiting for him to find his way out of the bathroom. You heard the bathroom door open, Tim walking out with sweatpants he had left at the apartment. You had put his other clothes in the wash.
"Hey, uh... I'm done with the shower," he said, your gaze going to him and away from the page of your book.
You nodded your head in confirmation, Tim smiling, trying to act like there wasn't anything wrong.
"You can spend the night on the couch if you want, just until you sober up." you offered.
Timothée stopped and smiled, you could have sworn you saw him tear up, "Even when people are so cruel to you, you always had kindness in your heart for them."
It astounded him that even after everything he'd done, everything he'd said, you still went out of your way to care for him.
"Words can't describe how sorry I am, I...," this time his tears were threatening to fall.
As much as you hated to admit it,  you still loved him and cared for him. You still had a soft spot for him, despite the fact he had done things to you that should never be done to another human being. You could see that he was having a hard time without you. He was a mess, and you could see it when he walked in.
You closed your book and sat up off the bed, opening your arms, motioning him to embrace you. He gave a weak smile, tears finally falling as he walked over to you, taking a seat next to you on the bed as you wrapped your arms around him, his head burying itself into your neck as he began to cry, your hand rubbing his back.
His nose grazed your neck as he lifted his head to give a small kiss to your neck, the pecks continuing to progress, soon turning into passionate kisses along your throat, making you squirm. You couldn't lie, you missed moments like these. Intimate moments.
"Timothée," you started, not wanting to take advantage of his tipsy state.
"Shh, baby, just let me make you feel good," he continued, going down a little lower, nipping and sucking on your collar bone.
"Timothée, you're drunk," you pushed him back slightly, his eyes meeting yours.
"I've wanted nothing more than to come over and show you how much you meant to me. I know I fucked up, and I want nothing more than to take everything back. But without you, I'm so lost. I can't think. You're my everything," he paused, taking your hand in his, "Just please, let me show you how much I need you,"
You nodded your head slowly and quietly. His lips attached to yours, a feeling you had been longing for ever since you shoved him out the door. He began to undress you, throwing your shirt to the side, exposing your breasts making him curse under his breath, his mouth attaching to them almost immediately, swirling his tongue around them, making you release an erotic mewl, the sounds only driving him to kiss down your stomach.
Once he reached the hem of your leggings, he put his fingers underneath the waistband, pulling down both your underwear and pants in one swift movement, making you gasp as he discarded of them quickly, his long fingers grasping the inside of your thighs, gently prodding them apart, completely exposing you.
He slowly leaned his head down to where you wanted him most, his tongue giving you a rough kitten lick right on your clit, making you whine in anticipation. You loved how he knew your body so well, even better than you did.
Your hands found their way to his scalp, running your fingers through his hair, beckoning him to continue. He then took your small hands from his hair and put them in his hands as he began to go down on you, licking and sucking your pussy, making you moan out and grab his hands tighter, his thumb sub-consciously smoothing over the back of your hand, making your legs tingle and your fingers twitch.
"Fuck, Tim," you sighed, his tongue finding its way inside you, making you bite your lip.
"You taste so good, baby," he groaned, the vibrations making you moan out, your head burying itself in the back into the pillows as your eyes began to roll back.
He then detached one of his hands from yours, inserting two fingers, replacing his tongue, making you moan louder, a familiar knot beginning to form, your pussy tingling as he continued to work you, your mind going fuzzy.
"FucK - g-gonna... cum-," you gasped out in parts, Timothée now inserting his fingers quicker and quicker.
Your legs began to shake as you began to release, Timothée taking out his fingers, watching you - marveling - in the sight that he caused. Your back was arched, your hair slightly messy, lips swollen, cum gushing out of your entrance. Your mouth hung open as loud primal moans escaped your mouth, making you feel amazing.
Once you had calmed down, he moved up, pressing a loving kiss to your lips as you kissed back, your hands once again going to his hair, his body pressed up against yours. He then swung his leg over your body so he was straddling you, his head going down and sucking your neck as he lines himself up.
He pauses, looking into your eyes, "I missed you, baby, I missed you so fucking much," he mutters, beginning to insert himself, making you grab onto his arms.
When he fully inserted himself, you let out a small exhale, his lips meeting yours as be gave you time to adjust. It had been a while.
After he paused, he waited for your nod to continue, which you anxiously allowed, determined to have him make you reach nirvana. You were's disappointed, his thrusts gaining speed quickly, more erotic mewls and groans erupting from your chest, only egging him on to continue... to go faster.
"Fuck, I missed you," he breathed, "I missed this tight fuckin pussy. My tight fuckin pussy. Nobody can make me feel the way you do, baby."
His words mixed with the knot once again tightening in your stomach was almost too much, the need for a climax almost painful, as you felt him get close as well. Your core clenched, making his bite his lip, his head going to the side of your neck, going fast as he could manage, which made the feelings in your pussy all the more mind-numbing.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, I'm gonna cum," you whimpered out, making him groan in confirmation.
"Me too baby,"
Suddenly, you felt your legs twitch, your body seizing up so much your muscles felt week, your eyes rolling back as you saw stars in your eyelids. You reached your rapture with complete and utter bliss, Timothée climaxing inside of you, knowing you were on birth control.
He helped you ride out your orgasm as well as his own. Your head was so clouded at this point, you didn't even know where to begin. He pulled out, laying down next to you, pulling you close as your body shook slightly from the leftover pleasure still coursing through your body.
"We don't have to talk about this now," he started.
"Shut up, don't ruin the moment," you snapped with a smile on your face.
"I love you," he said gently, his hands playing with your hair.
"Goodnight, Timothée."

- ̗̀ ๑❪( ❛ 𝑠𝑦𝑛𝑜𝑝𝑠𝑖𝑠 ❜ )❫๑ ˚̩̥̩̥.
Husband and Wife separated by two worlds, she is an extremely powerful witch from the Boiling Islands in the Demon Realm and he is a Vampire, the most powerful weapon of the Hellsing Organization, they haven't seen each other in over a hundred years, how will they react when they meet during a somewhat confusing event.│ 🧷
The figure of a woman with long auburns hair slept inside a huge nest bed full of pillows and with an opaque black veil that prevented all light from entering, but only a blanket that covered the female figure, who was soon awakened by a little Skitterling, a small reptilian being with blazing prange flames on its head and tail.
That was Dulce, the mascot of the woman who was slowly starting to regain her consciousness and wake up from her deep sleep.
" Let's go Mari! Today is the day to go to the human world! Remember? We need to replenish the stock of herbs and buy the human foods you like so much! "- Dulce exclaimed as the witch sat between the pillows.
" Okay, okay, okay…. I'm coming, just give me a few minutes to get ready and then we'll go meet Eda and Inari in town " - She replied as she crawled out of the nest until her feet touched the cold room wood.
Finally regaining all her senses, she could hear the sound of water outside her house and the Acers, small dragons made of leaves, roaring from the roof top, with a sigh she then snapped her fingers, changing her clothes, from a silk pajamas to a burgundy jumpsuit, with the edges of the pants degraded in red, orange and yellow, a black coat with red, orange and yellow markings, a black corset marking her waist and black heels with a golden tiara that left all her wild hair tied back.
With that she left her room and went down the wooden stairs until she reached the living room where she soon saw Dulce waiting for her, smiling gently she opened the pot on the kitchen counter, taking out a small fish that slightly resembled an eel and handed it to him - " Here, here's your breakfast " - She spoke softly as she poured some Apple Blood into a glass to drink, she loved that drink, well she loved both versions, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and in that moment she was drinking the non-alcoholic, after all, it was very early.
It was when Griffyn appeared inside the house, he was the house demon of that house and was attached to the door of the Lady Phoenix's House, also serving as its protector and the house itself. He is literally a Griffin's head Behind the door where he is placed, there is the back frame of his Griffin body with wings and two peepholes attached where his eyes normally are. As a Bug-type Demon, owing to his extensive gray "neck" from him, Griffyn can stretch and move around in worm-like fashion.
" Good morning Griffyn " - Maria said with a small smile as she started to prepare her bag so she could leave the house with Dulce.
" Good morning Mari, where are you going? " - He asked while watching the woman close the bag and then put it over her shoulder.
" Oh, today is the monthly supply of my herbs and human food Griffyn, I'll just return home at the end of the day so take care of the house ok? " - She asked as Dulce jumped and then hid inside her hair.
" You can leave it to me Mari, I promise not to disappoint you! " - The House Demon said as he watched the witch ask her staff and with that he returned to his position at the door of the house, thus opening it for her.
" Thanks Griffyn, see you later! " - Maria said goodbye and with that she left mounted on her staff that flew until leaving the extension of the protective barrier around the houseboat, with that heading towards the Boiling Islands.
The Boiling Isles is an archipelago in the Demon Realm. Situated in the Boiling Sea, it is made from the decaying remains of a fallen Titan and populated by magical creatures, predominantly withes and demons.
The trip from her house, which was located somewhere on the Boiling Sea to the islands, took around ten to fifteen minutes, which meant it wouldn't be long before she got to town to meet her friend Eda at the Human Collectibles, who was the store owned by silver haired witch.
Arriving in the city, she landed and then held her staff in her hands which allowed her to walk through the city, looking for the Mobile business that was know for it red lettering on a yellow background, Eda used a purple tent and spreads a green tablecloth atop a white table, in front of the tent are blue and yellow shelves to display items, along with a wooden check register. Maria soon spotting the silver haired witch who was accompanied by Luz the human and King the little devil, she and the Owl Lady were known to have studied together at Hexside, both were known to be the school's most rebellious.
" Eda! Darling! Glad I managed to find you, I need a favor!~ " - The auburn haired witch said as she walked towards the mobile business counter.
The Owl Lady looked towards the voice that called her and soon saw the figure of Maria coming out of the crowd that seemed to make way for the woman to pass, everyone was watching her in awe, she had an aura of pure confidence and power around her. Legends ran around the Boiling Islands that meeting Lady Phoenix would bring good luck, harmony, peace, balance, and prosperity, but of course it was just rumors created by the islanders since she rarely appeared there.
" Mari! Babe! Good to see you again! What can I do for you today? " - Eda asked smiling as she leaned on the counter and looked towards her friend who was finally standing in front of her.
" Could you allow me and Inari to use the portal? I need to replenish my stock of herbs and food " - The auburn haired witch asked sweetly, outside when she noticed the human's gaze on her.
" Oh of course! But what will I get in return? " - Asked the Owl Lady.
" I'll bring you some human items for your shop, what do you think? " - She asked with a small smirk on her lips.
" That's how I like it, I love doing business with you, wait for me here while I prepare the portal, Luz take care of everything while I'm in the back of the store " - Eda asked the human girl and with that she disappeared when passing through the tent entrance .
That left Luz alone in the company of the Phoenix Lady and King who seemed well entertained by what was on the cell phone in his hands.
" Hey… your name is Luz, right? It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Eda told me a lot about you " - The Phoenix Lady spoke with a soft smile as Dulce appeared from her hair and let out a small roar.
" O-oh, it's a pleasure to finally meet you too! Eda told me a lot about you! How the two of you were always playing pranks around school and how you are way more powerful than her! " - The brown haired girl said while she had stars in her eyes.
The Phoenix Witch let out a little laugh - " Oh like that you'll make me blush, me and Eda are just two witches who chose to learn all kinds of magic on our own, our knowledge level is the same we just have different techniques, she is also very powerful and I admire her a lot " - She said with a smile.
It was when a white hooded figure, she had a mysterious and gloomy aura around her and in her hand she carried the staff who possessed the Palisman of a three-tailed, three-eyed fox, that was Inari Mallor The Dark Enchantress of the Dark Magic Coven, there were rumors around the islands that she was part of the Coven of Aberration and Illusions, however, no one had concrete evidence about this.
" Hello Inari, I'm glad you made it on time " - Maria said with a smile while the white haired witch simply replied with a nod, after all, Inari was a witch of few words that if she didn't make some sarcastic comment.
Eda finally appeared - " It's all ready, come with me " - She asked and with that the two witches followed her into the tent, when they got there they soon came face to face with the portal, the portals are magic inter-dimensional doorways that can bridge the Demon Realm to the Human Realm. It wasn't the first time those witches had used it, when dormant, the original portal door resembles a brown attaché case with a large, yellow, slit pupil eye on one side. When activated by pressing an eye-shaped button on the monitoring key, the portal unfolds to the dimensions of a standard human doorway.
" Remember that the portal will be closed, when you return to the abandoned hut just knock on the door that I will open for you " - The silver haired witch warned them as the door opened.
" Okay! Thank you Eda, I'll be sure to bring you a lot of stuff for you to put in your store! " - Maria said and with that she went through the portal.
Inari simply nodded and followed after her friend, after going through the portal, the door closed, leaving the two witches inside that abandoned hut in the middle of the forest.
Letting out a long sigh the auburn haired witch headed outside the cabin with her best friend, thus letting Dulce out of her hair and onto the floor, the white haired witch looked at her friend, waiting for what they would do next.
" So Mayflower, what are we going to do first? " - She questioned after a few minutes of silence.
" Hmm …. as we are already in the forest I think it would be better to start with the herbs and we will also have a lot of help, Dulce is great at sniffing things out " - The Phoenix Lady said as she followed behind the Skitterling that sniffed the ground, looking for some trail of medicinal herbs.
Without hesitation, the Dark Enchantress followed her friend.
Since the Husbands of both witches left the Demon Realm, they had started spending more time together, The Phoenix Lady and The Dark Enchantress were great friends, they met during their years in Hexside, Inari was a model student, following the Coven of Abominations while Maria followed The Beast Keeping Coven, however, they shared something in common, a desire to expand their knowledge beyond their covens.
Over the years, both became great friends, to the point where they were bridesmaids at each other's weddings, in addition to performing The Bloos Sisters Pact, which provided them with a mental link where they could mentally talk to each other no matter where they were, they did. this shortly after they graduated from Hexside
The two witches roamed the forest gathering herbs like Rosemary, Artemisia, Sage, Mint and Lavender, in addition to collecting some different stones and crystals that they found on the way, they were so distracted that they didn't even notice that Dulce was gone, Maria finally stopped at the halfway, tucking the small stones into her bag and then looked around, looking for any sign of the Skitterling, but she didn't see anything that worried her.
" Dulce?… Dulce where are you? " - Maria asked while looking around, hearing her friend's voice the white haired witch looked in her direction, noticing that there was something wrong.
The two witches looked around, trying to look for any sign of the little demon, but when the bushes next to them started to move and then Dulce's figure jumped out of it, quickly landing in the arms of his Mistress, he trembled and whimpered in fear.
" D-Dulce? What happened? " - Maria asked worriedly as she held him close to her chest, trying to bring some sense of comfort and protection to him.
Inari immediately started looking around frantically, trying to find any signs that they were in danger.
" There are two men coming this way and it looks like they're coming after us! And they're armed! " - The Infant Skitterling said scared and with that he climbed the witch's shoulder until hiding in her hair.
The two witches looked at each other and nodded, Inari extended her hand and with her finger drew the mist rune in the air, touching the center of it, a huge wave of mist spread throughout the forest, however, using their staffs , they flew away until they hid in the clouds in the sky.
" Mayflower, can you see some things? " - Inari asked while they were hiding in the clouds, the witches' palismans seemed to be really worried.
" Wait a minute… " - She said as she rummaged through her bag and then took out her Emerald Spyglass, it was an item that regardless of the time of the day or weather condition, you would have a perfect view of both the sky when from its surroundings, in addition to being able to regulate the distance of the lens by the runes placed around it.
Humming, she searched intently until she finally caught sight of the two male figures in the mist, which made her widen her eyes and then exclaim:
" Bitch, the men Dulce talked about are our own husbands! "
The white haired witch's eyes also widened - " Give me the Spyglass " - She asked.
The auburn haired witch simply passed the Spyglass to her friend who wasted no time and quickly looked through the lens, looking for the two figures in the middle of the fog.
" Sons of a- " - She growled but before finishing her sentence she simply grumbled angrily.
" That's why I hate these Master and Mistress things, it's every useless thing they ask for, and asking them to hunt us down was like putting the wrong measure in a luck potion " - Grumbled the auburn haired witch.
" Are they seriously going to try and fight us? " - Inari asked while raising an eyebrow and looking towards her friend.
" Yeah, let's just play our roles, what do you think? You know? Have some fun? " - Asked Maria with a glint of mischief in her eyes dark brown eyes.
" You know i'm always down to toy with people, Mayflower, especially if it's our husbands " - Replied the Dark Enchantress while smirking at her friend.
" Let's do it " - The auburn haired witch smirked.
The white haired witch then flew closer to her friend, handing the Emerald Spyglass back to its owner who soon put it in the bag, however, Maria started looking for something else inside the bag.
" What are you looking for, Mayflower? " - Inari asked while looking at that with a confused expression.
It was when she took out a round bottle inside and inside it seemed to have a Thunderstorm - " This is a Bottled Thunderstorm that I managed to capture in the Boiling Sea, if I'm not careful the bottle could end up breaking due to its strength, I can use it it to hit creatures with lightning bolts and I can also create Thunderwaves and of course, create different types of Thunderstorms and when I don't want to use them anymore, I can just put it back inside the bottle " - She explained as she closed her bag.
" So… is it planned to use this to distract them? "-The white haired witch questioned as she saw her friend staring at the bottle in her hands.
" That's right, so I advise you to move away a lot because the storm will be very strong " - Maria said as she flew with her Palisman until she was in the center of the clouds, while she got ready, Inari got ready to use one of her spells to create a barrier around the area so it wouldn't hit any human villages or cities around the forest.
Now floating in the midst of the clouds at the top of the sky, she took a deep breath and then unsealed the bottle which caused a huge thunder to echo all over the place and at a high speed the whole storm came out of the bottle, a gale. strong started which caused the witch's auburn hair to move wildly and made the Palisman also have difficulty holding steady in the air.
Within seconds Inari had also finished doing the protective barrier spell, soon there was a violet barrier that kept the thunderstome trapped inside it.
Undertaker and Alucard were trapped in the middle of that storm since the fog had spread and disappeared because of the strong wind, the sound of thunder echoed through the place along with the sound of the treetops moving ferociously. They recognized that storm, for a storm of that intensity only existed in one place, and that place was in the Boiling Islands, but that wasn't the only thing they recognized.
The magic that flooded the place could only belong to two people, two people that they hadn't seen it in a long time, the mixture of two completely different magics, one with primordial remnants and the other with dark remnants.
" Oh, looks like we got the hunch right, it's really them " - The Silver haired reaper said as he held his scythe over his left shoulder.
" And as expected they wouldn't miss the chance to play with us, what are they planning? " - Hummed Alucard as he watched the terrible thunderstorm that was over them.
" I don't know, but I have the impression that we shouldn't let our guard down, you know how the two of them can be when they're working together…. " - Adrian commented while looking around.
The vampire agreed - " Yeah….destructive "
It was when laughter echoed over the wind as if they were floating along the currents of air which made the two of them go on alert.
" Hello boys~ "
