Inner peace is not won
Through peace.
Peace does not test you
Does not bend
Or break you
It does not reshape you.
Peace is a comfort earned
Through war
With the demons
That plague your mind
Fester in your soul
And hold you to the fires
Of revelation.
Embrace
Your Wrathful Aspect
And defeat the demon
That is
The Self

The spider approached its prey.
The gnat simply sat there. But the spider knew she had not paralyzed her yet, so why wasn’t she trying to escape?
Confused, the spider looked upon her victim.
With great hesitation she said, “I am going to eat you now.”
The gnat simply said, “I know. I hope you get good use of my flesh”
The spider had not eaten for days but as she bared her teeth… she couldn’t make the killing blow
‘I may not have another meal…’ she thought…
But she undid the webbing on her victim
Without turning back or saying anything more, the gnat flew away
The spider sat alone on the web and cried. Eventually no more tears would come, so she just sat there, watching the wind take her web away
She starved to death that night

I think the Jedi should have fake saints and made-up martyrs the way medieval Catholicism did
like tell me the creche-story of the Jedi Knight who threw their soul into the Force and left no body behind when they were captured by a Sith rather than let themselves be tortured into Falling and joining the Sith
or about the Jedi Padawan who spoke her case so eloquently that the Mandalorians who had captured her let her go and devoted themselves to fight for her noble cause

放 (hanasu) "let go"
Tumblr media
Freedom is found in letting go of desires, attachments, opinions, and other burdens which no longer serve us.
The more we let go into grace, the more we gain. Living freely, without grasping. Each moment is enough, just as it is.

Friendly reminder that Buddhism is a religion.
It has a philosophy, which many choose to learn and follow without taking part in the religious aspects.
Nonetheless it has all the characteristics of a religion:
The veneration of powerful entities - Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Dharmapalas
A rich collection of symbols, folklore, and cosmology
Temples, shrines, holy places and holy statues
Sacred days (e.g. Buddha and Bodhisattva birthdays)
Prayers, ceremonies, ritual tools, devotional practices
Sacred texts and scriptures (sutra, dharani)
Spiritual cultivation (meditation, sadhana, mantra recitation)
A set of tenets and teachings (5 precepts, eightfold path, etc)
Several classes of spirit beings (devas, yakshas, gandharvas, dakinis, pretas and more)
Several schools/divisions (Mahayana, Theravada, Vajrayana, Zen, Chan... to name a few)
Both exoteric and esoteric practices
A clergy - individuals trained and ordained to serve the community
Spiritual authority - gurus/lamas authorised to teach and initiate

Hi there! Big fan of your art, especially of your current Wukong iteration. If I may ask, why did you give your Wukong redraw of the monkey meditating in a monk temple blue eyes instead of golden ones? Have a great month!
Hhehehe thank you!! And well- it was kind of a mistake??? Initially when I started drawing over that image, I imagined Wukong with Shifu Subodhi- so I drew my version of Pre-Havoc Wukong (which I drew in the Erlang doodle)
I imagine he had almost uncomfortably blue eyes- but when I went to post it I realized it fits better that Wukongs in the Western Heaven post-JTTW soooooo💀 at that point it was too late to fix AJJDJAJFJF

Just as a storm cannot prevail against a rocky mountain, so Mara can never overpower the man who lives meditating on the impurities, who is controlled in his senses, moderate in eating, and filled with faith and earnest effort.
