“Did someone just knock at the door?” MJ asked as she took the bowl of popcorn from in front of you.
“It’s probably just Peter trying to spy on our sleepover.” Kate said as she wiggled her eyebrows at you.
“Leave him alone. He wouldn’t do that.” You rolled your eyes as you defended Peter.
“He literally did it at our last sleepover.” MJ reminded you.
“Yeah.” Kate nodded. “Remember he felt left out so we let him take one of our birth control pills?”
“How could I forget?” You sighed. “He ate all the chocolate and cried when that pillow brushed his nipple.”
“And that was just from a placebo pill.” MJ snorted before another knock came from outside the door.
“I think that’s my sister.” You said before turning to the door. “Who is it?”
“Morgan.” Morgan replied as she opened the door a little. “Can I come play with you guys?”
“Get in here, girl.” MJ said as she waved Morgan into the room. Morgan smiled in excitement ran to sit in your lap.
“You can hang out a little bit. But then it’s off to bed, chickie. It’s already past your bed time.” You reminded her as you brushed her hair off her face.
“But I wanna stay up with you guys.” She whined.
“No you don’t.” Kate insisted. “We’re gonna be talking about boring adult stuff.”
“What adult stuff?” Morgan wondered.
“Like school and work and training.” You listed off a few things.
“And the declining state of our nation’s sense of community due to a lack of an authority figure we can agree on without giving rude nicknames to.” MJ said in the same casual tone.
“And boys. Yuck!” You pretended to gag as you ticked Morgan’s stomach.
“Boys?” Morgan asked as she laughed.
“Yeah, boys. Do you like anyone at school? Any crushes I should know about?”
“No.” Morgan said as her cheeks turned red.
“I know that face.” You gasped. “Yes you do. Tell me who.”
“No.” Morgan giggled as you continued to tickle her.”
“I work stop until you tell me.” You told her.
“Stop it.” Morgan laughed. “That tickles.”
“You better confess, little miss.” You playfully warned her.
“Okay. I’ll tell you.” Morgan said. “I like this boy named James.”
“James!” You, MJ, and Kate squealed in unison.
“What do you like about him?” Kate asked.
“He gave me his cookie at snack time when I dropped mine.” Morgan said bashfully.
“Aw. What a gentleman.” You pouted. “I love him already.”
“He did not!” Kate gasped as she played along.
“I also have a crush on the American Girl doll of the year.” Morgan continued. “Her name is Betty and she plays softball.”
“Of course it’s softball.” MJ chuckled.
“A second crush.” Kate looked impressed. “I see James has some competition.”
“I’m not surprised you have people competing for you when you’re this beautiful.” You told Morgan as you played with her hair.
“And the smartest girl in kindergarten.” MJ added and she tickled Morgan as well.
When Peter passed by your room, he heard the loud giggling from inside. He knew it was past Morgan’s bedtime, so he curiously leaned his ear against the door to see what was happening.
“Who do you guys like?” Morgan wondered.
“I don’t have any crushes.” MJ said. “My girlfriend and I have been together a lovely three weeks.”
“In lesbian time, that means they’re already living together and signing a prenup.” You whispered to Kate.
“Shut up.” MJ playfully shoved you. “Do you like anyone Kate?”
“Who me? What? Me?” Kate sputtered. “No. Never. I don’t - I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh, you so do.” MJ realized. “Who is it?”
“Fine.” Kate sighed. “I think Clint is kinda hot.”
“Clint?” Your entire face scrunched in disgust.
“Wait. I’m gonna puke.” MJ said as she clutched her stomach.
“I’m kidding.” Kate shoved you both. “I can’t believe you guys believed me. He’s like 80 years old.”
“Then who do you like?” MJ asked, making Peter press his ear harder against the door. He realized it was pointless since he had advanced hearing, but he felt like he was in a movie, so he didn’t stop.
“I think Ned is kinda cute.” Kate sheepishly admitted.
“Aw. Then you and Y/n can double date.” MJ smiled as she pointed to you. Peter furrowed his eyebrows when he heard this and wondered what MJ meant.
“MJ.” You whispered harshly.
“What?” MJ asked. “Everyone already knows you like him.”
“He doesn’t know. And he’s home so keep your voice down.” You said quietly as you nodded towards the door. Peter couldn’t see you, but he was beginning to put the pieces together.
“Who are you talking about?” Morgan asked.
“Nobody.” You replied.
“I wanna know. Please?” She asked as she stuck out her bottom lip.
“Aw.” MJ cooed. “Who could say no to that face?”
“Me.” You said flatly. “No.”
Morgan continued to give you her saddest little girl eyes, but you weren’t gonna budge.
“Don’t give me that look.” You told her. “It doesn’t work on me.”
“Please?” Morgan asked softly as she clasped her hands under her chin.
“I mean it. I’m not dad.” You reminded her. “You can’t use the puppy dog eyes to get what you want from me.”
Morgan let out a little whimper as she slowly blinked at you, and that’s when you broke.
“Fine.” You sighed. “I’ll tell you. Just stop looking at me like that.”
“Yay! Who do you like?” Morgan asked again.
“I may or may not have a tiny crush on Peter.” You said as you pinched your fingers together. Peter let out a tiny gasp and quickly leaned in again.
“Well that was the understatement of the century.” MJ mumbled.
“Whats an under say mint?” Morgan asked.
“It means Y/n is in love with Peter.” Kate explained, which made Peter choke on his saliva.
“Katherine Bishop.” You whispered harshly and motioned for her to shut her mouth.
“Ew.” Morgan scrunched her nose. “You like Peter?”
“Peter is not “ew.” You’re “ew”. Peter is perfect.” You gushed, which caused Peter’s breath to hitch in his throat.
“But I thought Peter was your friend.” Morgan frowned.
“He is. I think everyone falls in love with their best friend at least once in their life. It’ll probably happen to you one day.”
“Yuck.” Morgan squirmed.
“My thoughts exactly.” MJ mumbled.
“Are you gonna marry Peter?” Morgan asked you.
“Probably not. Peter and I are too young to be married.” You laughed. “But if he liked me back, we would be dating.”
“Does he like you back?”
“No.” You smiled sadly. “He doesn’t.”
“What!?” Peter thought to himself. “Yes I do.”
“Oh come on.” MJ looked at you knowingly.
“What? Peter doesn’t like me like that.”
“You’re right.” Kate nodded. “Except that he totally does.”
“Tell her Kate.” Peter nodded eagerly.
“He does not.” You insisted.
“Yes he does.” Peter whispered from the other side of the door.
“Kate, he obviously doesn’t like her back.” MJ said sarcastically. “That’s why he walks her to class, carries her books, walks her home, makes her dinner, and oh wait. Never mind. He is totally in love with her.”
“Does he share his juice box with you?” Morgan asked you.
“I wish.” You mumbled.
“Ew.” MJ grimaced.
“Guys, stop. Peter doesn’t like me back and I’m totally fine with that. I’d rather have him as my friend for the rest of my life than my boyfriend for a few months.”
“Don’t you at least want to ask if I like you back?” Peter thought to himself.
“Don’t you want to at least ask him if he likes you back?” Kate asked you. “That’s the only way to know for sure.”
“He doesn’t.” You said definitively. “He would’ve said something by now.”
“Maybe you should just tell him.” MJ shrugged. “Get it off you chest.”
“I can’t.” You shook your head. “It’ll change the friendship. He’ll never treat me the same.”
“Because I’d treat you like my girlfriend.” Peter whined in exasperation.
“That could be a good thing.” Kate told you. “He could start treating you like his girlfriend.”
“I doubt it. We’ll talk about this later. I gotta get this one to bed.” You said as you scooped up Morgan, who had fallen asleep in your arms at some point in the conversation.”
“Mm not tired.” She mumbled as she rubbed her eyes.
“I believe you. Let’s talk about it some more in your room.” You spoke softly as you carried her out of the room. Peter quickly stepped away from the door when he heard your footsteps and stood awkwardly in the hallway.
“Hey.” He smiled weakly when you came out of your room.
“Peter.” You jumped in surprised. “Hi. I thought you were downstairs.”
“I was.” He nodded. “Then I came upstairs.”
“Right. Did you happen to hear anything we were talking about?” You asked as you eyed him skeptically.
“No.” He lied, eyes darting from side to side.
“Oh my God.” You gasped. “You so did.”
“No I didn’t.” He lied again as his entire face turned red.
“When why can’t you look me in the eye?” You questioned him.
“Because I have social anxiety and find it easier to speak to people when I am looking elsewhere.” Peter replied while staring at the ceiling.
“You’re lying. You blink a lot when you lie. It’s your tell.”
“No it’s not.” He scoffed while rapidly blinking. “Have you ever seen Law and Order? We should watch all 20 seasons sometime. How about right now?”
“You also try to change the subject when you lie.” You recalled. “You deflect and avoid the subject.”
“No I don’t. Did you do something new with your hair?”
“Peter.” You said warningly.
“Fine.” He sighed. “I heard you talking to Morgan.”
“Oh no.” Your eyes widened as you took a step back from him. Morgan started to wake up a little so you gently bounced her in your arms.
“Did you mean it?” Peter whispered. “Do you like me?”
“No.” You replied, blinking a few times too many.
“I know when you’re lying.” Peter reminded you. “Can we please talk?”
“Now that you mention it, why don’t we watch all 20 seasons of Law and Order? That sounds great right now. Let me go put Morgan to bed.” You tried to walk away, but Peter gently caught your arm.
“Wait.” He said softly. “I really think we should talk about this. Do you actually like me? Like, in that way?”
In the dim lighting of the hallway, you stared into Peter’s hopeful eyes with a brewing fear. He already knew too much so there was no point in lying to him now. You gave your best friend a sad smile, knowing your friendship was about to change forever.
“Yeah.” You admitted. “I do. I like you.”
“Oh.” Peter blinked in surprise. “Wow. Um, I don’t-“
“You don’t have to say anything.” You cut him off. “In fact, I’d prefer if you didn’t. I don’t want to hear you say you don’t feel like same. Not right not.”
“Right. I totally understand that. But there’s something you should know. I don’t-“
“I know. I know you don’t.” You smiled sadly. “But I do. So please, don’t say anything.”
“That’s not what I was gonna say.” He assured you. “Just listen. I don’t…I don’t know- I can’t really explain how-“
“Y/n? Am I in bed?” Morgan cut him off this time as she slowly woke up.
“No, honey.” You said softly as you bounced her. “We were just about to go to bed. Close your eyes.”
“Y/n.” Peter pleaded with you not to leave again. You looked at him for a long time before looking back down at Morgan.
“Goodnight, Peter.” You whispered as you looked at him with sad eyes.
“I don’t know how to tell you how long I’ve been waiting to hear that.” He finally said what he’d been trying to say, but you were already gone.
The next day, Peter impatiently waited for you in the kitchen so you could continue your conversation from the night before. When you finally entered the kitchen, Peter jumped out his seat and went up to you.
“Hey.” He said, making you jump a little.
“Gotta go.” You gave him a tight smile and quickly left the kitchen. Peter frowned at your reaction to him but eventually brushed it off, deciding to try again at school.
Peter saw you again when he got to campus. You were talking to Ned, which gave Peter hope that things had gone back to normal.
“Hey guys.” He said as joined the circle. “Y/n, can we talk?”
“Can’t. Gotta get to class.” You said before immediately walking away. Peter let out a disappointed sigh as he watched you leave.
“That was weird.” Ned noted. “Is she okay?”
“She’s okay. I think she needs some space from me.” Peter told him.
“Why? Did something happen between you guys?”
“Yeah, she told me-“
Peter cut himself off before he told Ned your secret. He wasn’t supposed to know himself, so he knew he couldn’t tell other people.
“I saw her naked.” Peter lied. “I accidentally walked in on her in the shower and now it’s super awkward between us.”
“Don’t worry about it, dude.” Ned shrugged. “She’ll get over it. Just give her some space for the day. She’s probably just embarrassed.”
“You’re right.” Peter nodded. “I’ll leave her alone for a bit.”
Peter gave you your space for the rest of the day. He made sure to avoid you around the tower, assuming you just needed 24 hours for the awkwardness to dissolve. The next morning, he found you in the kitchen eating a bowl of cereal.
“Good morning.” He greeted.
“Bye.” You dropped your spoon and left the room.
“What?” He whined. “Still?”
Peter was hellbent on talking to you now, even if it was just to yell at you for leaving your dirty cereal bowl out. He spotted you in the hallway and went up to you before you could run away.
“Y/n.” Peter said as he came up behind you.
“Ah.” You jumped. “You scared me.”
“Can we talk?” He pleaded. “Please?”
“Nows not a good time.” You lied as you walked away from him.
“You have to talk to me eventually!” He called after you.
“No I don’t!” You called back. Peter let out a sigh of frustration as you disappeared down the hallway. He was so excited to find out you reciprocated his feelings, but you would never know that since you refused to talk to him.
The next day, Peter was determined to get you to speak to him. He was not going to be deterred, no matter how icy you were towards him.
“Hey.” Peter came up to you after class.
“I have to go.” You told him as you turned to leave.
“Come on!” He whined. “It’s been days. Please talk to me.”
“I can’t talk to you. I have class.” You lied as you pointed to the closest classroom.
“You’re in Intro to Men’s Studies?” Peter raised an eyebrow.
“Yes.” You said quickly. “No. How do you even know what class they teach here?”
“There’s a poster of Lena Dunham pinned to a dartboard on the wall.” He pointed out. You looked at the poster and rolled your eyes.
“Fine. I’m not in the class.” You admitted. “But I do have a class in an hour. And my anxiety makes me leave way too early incase in the event I get held up somewhere, so I have to go.”
“We need to talk about this!” Peter yelled down the hallway as you ran away from him.
“No we don’t!”
“Please?” He yelled again. Once you were gone, he sighed sadly and looked at the floor.
“I miss you.” He mumbled to himself. His pity party quickly ended when he got a second wind of strength. He ran after you and caught up to you in the hallway.
“Where are you headed?” He asked innocently.
“Nowhere.” You replied as you picked up the pace.
“Sounds fun. Mind if I join you?” Peter asked as he wrapped an arm tightly around you.
“What are you doing?” You whispered harshly as people looked at the two of you.
“You’re avoiding me.” He said out of the corner of his mouth. “And I’m not gonna let you do that anymore.”
“I’m not avoiding you.” You lied as you tried to break out of his arm.
“Yes you are.” He insisted. “And I really need to talk to you about the other night.”
“The other night?” You gulped.
“Yeah. You know, when you told me that you-“
“Bye.” You dipped out of his arms and took of running down the hallway.
“What? Get back here!” Peter shouted as he chased you down.
“Stop following me.” You called behind you as ran away from him. You jumped over a banister and Peter did the same as he continued to follow you.
“Juts talk to me.” He pleaded. “Then I won’t have to keep hunting you down.”
“No.” You said as you made a quick left. Peter decided he had had enough and stopped running. He shot a web at you and yanked you back towards him, catching you as you collided into his body.
“We need to talk.” He panted as you both caught your breath.
“I don’t want to talk to you, okay Peter? I have nothing to say.” You whined as you pushed him off of you.
“Why not?”
“Do I really have to spell it out for you? I’m embarrassed, okay?” You admitted. “You know I like you and you don’t feel the same. That’s a lot of feelings to process. I needed time away from you to deal with everything. Why can’t you just leave me alone?”
“Because I miss you. I miss my best friend.” Peter sighed. “We used to talk every day. You used to tell me every thing.”
“I know. But look what happens when I tell you too much.” You said sadly.
“It doesn’t have to be awkward between us.” Peter assured you. “I can just pretend it never happened.”
“Pretend it never happened?” You raised your eyebrows.
“Uh oh.” Peter gulped. “You’re mad. I said something wrong, didn’t I?”
“I was secretly harboring feelings for you for months, Peter. And you found out before I was ready to tell you. You saying you can pretend it never happened makes me feel like it doesn’t effect you at all. And that really sucks because it seriously effects me.”
“I’m sorry.” Peter frowned. “I didn’t think about it like that. I swear, it effects me too.”
“Not the way it effects me.” You shook your head as you turned to walk away.
“You don’t know that for a fact.” Peter reminded you. “That’s exactly what I’ve been trying to talk to you about all week. I have a lot of things I need to say. Why won’t you talk to me?”
“Because I squirt.” You blurted as you whipped back around. Several people turned to look at you following your outburst as Peter’s eyes widened.
“For real?” He gasped, then cleared his throat. “I mean, what?”
“I squirt. I squirt all the metaphorical toothpaste out of the metaphorical tube.” You whined as you walked back over to him.
“Can you metaphorically dumb that down for me?”
“Once you squirt toothpaste out of the tube, it can never go back in. It’s out forever.” You explained. “It’s the same thing with my secret. You know I like you and now you can’t un-know it.”
“It’s okay that I know.” He assured you. “You don’t have to run away from me.”
“Yes I do.”
“Why?” He frowned. “Why won’t you just talk to me?”
“Because everything is different now.”
“It doesn’t have to be. Nothing has to change between us.” He said as he rubbed your arms to comfort you.
“Think about it, Peter. How are we supposed to go back to the way things were?” You asked him. “You know that I like you. And you know that I read into things you say and do. Do you honestly think you can act normally around me now?”
“Maybe I don’t want things to go back to normal.” He shrugged. “Maybe I want things to change between us.”
“What do you mean?”
“Have you ever stopped to think about how I feel about you?” Peter folded his arms. “Or have you been too busy running away from me?”
“If you liked me you would have told me by now.” You said simply.
“Oh, like how you told me?” Peter asked sarcastically. “I had to hear it from Morgan. She can’t even read.”
“She can sound things out.” You defended your sister. “And I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want this to effect our friendship. Which it clearly has.”
“It’s only effected our friendship because you insist on running away from me and putting up walls between us. Need I remind you, walls cannot stop me. I’m literally called the wall crawling superhero.” He whispered harshly.
“Wasn’t it wall crawling menace?” You tilted your head.
“Semantics.” Peter waved his hand. “My point is, you’re the only one of us who’s been acting different.”
“Because the toothpaste-“
“Is out of the tube. I know.” He cut you off. “But I’m glad it’s out. Because I was gonna squirt any day now.”
“You were?” You smiled hopefully. “And can we please drop the squirting metaphor? I hear it now. It was a mistake.”
“I like you too, okay? I’ve always liked you.” Peter admitted. “I was trying to tell you that when I overheard you and Morgan but you wouldn’t let me get a word out.”
“Oh. My bad.”
“Yeah.” He smiled softly. “You actually never let me get a word out. That’s one of the things I like about you.”
“What else do you like?” You asked coyly as you took a step forward.
“I like how sweet you are with your sister.” He began. “I like how you never make a joke at the expense of someone else. And I like how you use silly, slightly inappropriate metaphors to describe your feelings.”
“Metaphors are tough. They can start off simple enough but then get harder and harder until they erupt all over your face in white hot streams of-“
“Do you hear yourself?” Peter cut you off. “I’m asking because I really don’t think you do.”
“Okay. We’ll drop the metaphors.” You waved your hand. “Do you really mean what you said? You’ve always like me?”
“Of course I have.” Peter told you. “I just didn’t know how to tell you because I didn’t know how you felt about me.”
“Well now you do know how I feel about you.” You reminded him. “What are you gonna do about it?”
“I’m gonna…” He trailed off as he tried to think of his next words.
“Stop trying to think of a metaphor.” You laughed when you realized what he was doing.
“I’m sorry.” He laughed as well. “It just feels like me responding with a metaphor is a natural conclusion to our story.”
“How about you make kissing me the natural conclusion to our story?” You smirked as you wrapped your arms around his neck.
“I think that sounds even better.” He smiled before connecting his lips to yours.

Punch to the Heart (Teaser)
Punch to the Heart (Part 1)
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Crap crap crap”, Peter muttered, running his hands through his hair. He looked at Aunt May, hoping she would say that she was joking; it was some sick prank. But she just looked down, coming to smooth her hand on his back.
“Sorry, Pete. Her parents just called me to tell you that she is in the hospital. She isn’t doing so good. She was losing a lot of blood before passing out on the street. Police arrived 5 minutes later.”
Peter sighed, feeling his throat close up as he shook his head. “No, no, no, they said they will go after my girl” Peter looked back at May as he quickly suited up. “My girl,” He said quietly before snapping his web up, jumping out of his window and towards the hospital, sirens blaring in the background…
2 WEEKS AGO
Peter walked into the school, arm slung around MJ, pressing a kiss to her head before he let her go, watching her walk to her class. He kept walking, a glazed look in his eye, that he didn’t even see you, tumbling onto you.
“Oh, I’m so sorry”, he rambled before he saw who he was talking to.
“Hey Peter”, you said coldly, looking at him with a pinch in your heart.
“Oh, hey Y/N!” he said, a slightly pained look on his face.
You let out a sharp intake of breath you didn’t know you had been holding since he walked in. “I’m surprised you even know my name after you bailed on me last night. Again.”
Peter sighed uncharacteristically. “Look, I already said I’m sorry. Like a billion times!”
You scoffed, trying to hide how much it hurt. “Nope. Not even once. I left you 15 voicemails, Peter! I thought you were dead or you had gotten hurt! Couldn’t you just send me one text? After you probably texted MJ a billion times”, you said, imitating his voice. You tried to stop the shaking in your voice.
It had only been less than a week since you and Peter had talked about him not speaking to you anymore, and now it had been happening more and more. You knew he had Spiderman duties 5/7 days in a week, so you planned your night together on a Saturday night.
The same Saturday night, Tony had asked him to come because there was a challenging mission urgently. But you had looked at the news all night to see how the fight was going. Not once did they mention anything about a fight.
“How was the fight, Pete?”
“What fight?” he asked, confused. And that gave you the answer you were looking for.
“The one you told me as an excuse… You know, I’m sure MJ didn’t even get one text. Because you were by her side the entire time.”
Peter looked at you, wide-eyed. He opened and closed his mouth, trying to say something to you.
“Tell me I’m wrong, Parker. That you blew me off for the hundredth time to hang out with your new girlfriend?!”
Peter didn’t say anything for a couple of minutes, just staring at the ground, even as the bell rang. But then he squared up, jaw clenching. “Why the hell can’t I just spend time with MJ” Without you breathing down my neck?”
“Because you hang out with everyone, Peter! MJ, Ned, Betty… heck, even Flash! But not once do you hang out with me!”
“Maybe because you are just so fucking frustrating! Always wanting attention like a kid!” he spat out, then he looked away, muttering something under his breath.
“What did you say?” you asked, voice breaking, as the silence of the hall felt suffocating.
“I said, I thought you had gotten more than enough attention you would’ve needed in your life!” Just as those words left his mouth, you crumpled as if a shock of pain had gone through your body.
“Why-why would you say that?” you cried out, not caring that you had school anymore as you dropped your bag on the floor, furiously wiping your tears on the back of your hand. “Don’t answer that. I know why you said it, Peter”, you said, glaring at him through the tears. Walking out of the school, you clung to your shirt. So much for not wanting to care.
Little did you know that leaving your bag at school may have been the worst decision you could ever make….
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DING DONG, DING DONG, DING DONG, the doorbell kept repeating. Your parents had gone out for the night, leaving you at home by yourself. You walked over, trying to see who would come at 4:00 in the evening.
“Y/N!”, Peter called out. But he sounded muted.
You slowly opened the door to see Spiderman standing there, holding your school bag and some flowers. “I’m sorry. I know I haven’t been spending time with you, but someone sent a message to the compound a week back. Said it was for Spiderman. They told me that they were going to go after my girl, to get revenge for stopping the bank robbery that happened a couple of months ago.”
“Uhm, so that’s why you weren’t spending time with me?”
“Well, MJ also wants me to stop spending time with you so much. Said you were kinda clingy.” He said, scratching the back of his neck.
You scoffed. “No offence, but you gotta stand up for yourself Peter!”
“I can’t just do that, she is my girlfriend.”
“More like your mom…”, you muttered, rolling your eyes.
“What?”
“Nothing”
“Ok then.”
You sighed, giving him the flowers back. “Here, give these to MJ. She will like them. Or why don’t you wilt them a bit first, so I’ll be like her soul?”
Peter looked shocked. “Why would you say that? She is the best girlfriend ever!”
Your eyes softened. So he didn’t know. “Peter, I saw her and Brad today. At the field. Making out!”
Peter shook his head, more so to himself than you. “She wouldn’t cheat on me Y/N!”
“Okay, Peter. If you wanna keep on trusting your lying, rude girlfriend. Then go ahead. Guess we are back on square one then?” Peter didn’t even say anything, but when he left, you could see he left the flowers at your door, crumpled but still smelling fresh.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Peter stood in MJ’s room, playing with her hair softly after his fight with Y/N. But something was playing on his mind.
“MJ, did you cheat on me? With Brad? Since some people claimed that they saw you and him making out near the bleachers?”
MJ looked like a deer caught in the headlights but was interrupted(or saved) by Peter’s phone blaring loudly. Peter grabbed it, picking it up to hear Aunt May tell him something he never would have thought of.
“Y/N’s in the hospital Peter”
Peter gasped, jumping off MJ’s bed. “What happened”, she asked, looking annoyed.
“Y/N’s in the hospital! I have to go there…” Peter said, freaking out now. He looked at MJ, hoping to see some type of understanding in her eye, but she just glared at the phone.
“So what? It’s not like you can speed up her healing process. Whatever happened to her? Did she cry so hard her eyes fell out?”, MJ asked bitingly, rolling her eyes. Peter stood there, shocked.
“MJ, she is my best friend! I have to go see what happened to her.”
She laughed cruelly, “Oh please, you haven’t been her best friend for a long time. Let’s not act as if you care. Plus, you promised to meet my parents tonight.”
Peter shook his head firmly. “No-no MJ, I can’t just sit here having dinner with your mom and dad while Y/N’s in the hospital.”
MJ scoffed, looking down at Peter. “Okay, then here is what’s gonna happen. If you go to the hospital tonight, we’re over.”
Peter stuttered, looking at her in disbelief. “Wha-why?! What’s wrong with you? I have to go see her MJ!”
“No, you don’t. She will be fine. I’m sure it’s nothing major knowing Y/N. Always makes such a big fucking deal about everything”
Peter chuckled humourlessly and turned towards the window. “If you are going to make me choose between my best friend and my girlfriend, then I don’t know what to say to you, Michelle.”
MJ nodded, flipping him off. “Oh please, more like the girl you love and your girlfriend.”
And with that, Peter jumped out the window, tears already gathering in his eyes.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Peter quickly ran into the apartment, seeing May sitting down in the kitchen, talking to someone on the other side.
“Oh okay, I’ll tell him. Please keep me updated”
May turned around when she heard Peter slam the door shut. He ran over to her, eyes bloodshot. “Wha-what happened?”
May sighed, looking at Peter sadly. “It’s not your fault Peter”, she started, and that was when Peter broke.
“May-ple-please, what happened to her!?”
“Remember how you got that call, that those guys will be after someone you know? Well, they must have seen you go to Y/N’s house in the afternoon, and then targeted her.”
“Shit May! It’s my fault...Wait, do they know I’m Spiderman? Because then you have to go somewhere. I’ll call Happy!”, Peter said, rushing around.
May put her hand on his shoulder, “Peter, they don’t know you are Spiderman. All they saw was the city’s hero dropping off a package to Y/N’s house.
“How did she even get out?!”
May sighed. “Fought out of the van, but just as she was running, they shot her in the leg and stomach. Then came up and hurt her a bit more before leaving her on the street”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7:51 pm Peter, Peter there are some guys standing outside my apartment. These look like the guys who you took down a few months ago, remember? The bank robbery. Anyway, please call me back, I’m worried.
8:05 pm Hey, please pick up. The guys are now banging open the apartment door. I think I heard a gunshot, Peter! Please please come here…
8:15 pm Oh god, Peter. They are coming up the stairs, and they aren’t stopping. I locked the door and I’m staying hidden, but I’m scared, Peter. Please come here. I think they already shot someone downstairs...Ohmygod, I can hear them on my floor, Pete-
8:17 pm Peter, they are outside my door. I shut off all the lights and am hiding under my parent’s bed. You let out a quiet gasp, then started whispering. “They are inside Peter! I can hear them. At least three voices. Please come here, I need Spiderma-
There you are, a gruff voice called out as you let out a pained squeak.
8:26 pm Pete-Peter, they bought me down. Chucked me out the window. Peter, I don’t know where I am just that I’m in some type of van. I kept my phone next to me, and all-ugh-the guys have gone out for something, wait they’re coming ba-
As he played each message on the way to the hospital, Peter could feel himself getting more and more worried. The guys from the bank robbery. The threat. Y/N now in the hospital. Because of Spiderman. Because of him. Because he didn’t stay next to her when it mattered. Because he blew her off for his probably cheating, heartless girlfriend. Ex-girlfriend.
Arriving at the back of the hospital, he quickly shed his suit, running in. “Um, hello. I’m trying to find Y/N, Y/L/N? She was brought in today evening.
The nurse nodded, pointing to the room down the hall. “She is in there.”, she said, sounding sympathetic. “Sorry..”
Peter didn’t even stick around to see why she was sorry for him. Instead, he ran to the room. No one was here, only a couple of doctors here and there. He went next to the room, seeing your parent’s standing beside you, your body covered in gashes and bruises, while gauze covered several parts of your leg and stomach. Peter walked in, going straight to Y/N, but just as he was about to reach you, your heartbeat flatlined, a loud BEEEEP resonating in the room….

My best friend Betty Cooper was really getting on my nerves lately. She had the long blonde hair and perfect body that I wish I had. There was a part of me that always felt like I wasn’t good enough to anyone when I was around her. It didn’t help that she bashed my dreams of being a model some day. We’ve been living together for a few months now while we were in college.
“Modeling is stupid.” She said as I practiced my catwalking in our kitchen while she was working on homework.
“It’s for girls who can’t think clearly and have to rely on their bodies to the med that supply the entertainment industry with enough ammunition to disarm women’s self-confidence and make them buy things they don’t need.” She said and I rolled my eyes
“What the hell does that even mean?” I asked and she looked up at me with a sigh.
“I rest my case. You’re not the brightest girl, Y/N/N. Face it, you’re just another piece of meat that men love to look at and fantasies about having sex with.” She shrugged.
“What the fuck Betty?” I asked in shock.
“What? I’m just telling you the truth.” She shrugged. I couldn’t stand her sometimes! She was so smart, pretty, and the kind of girl that would get all the modeling gigs when she didn’t even want them! There was a knock on the door and we both turned towards it. Betty got up and opened it. It was one of the guys from some frat house that had been stalking her since he found out where we lived. She smiled warmly at him, batting her eyelashes like a little slut. She greeted him warmly and offered him a hug.
“Hey, Y/N’s here, come say hi.” She said with a smile. I waved at the guy and watched as Betty worked her magic on him. It made me angry when I saw her flirt with guys. Guys loved her and I wondered how much more sex she was having than me. You would think none based on what she says, but she’s probably a huge slut. I hadn’t been getting any action for the longest time. I hadn’t had a boyfriend since I lost my virginity, years ago. I tried to think about how sex had felt for me, but I couldn’t even remember it clearly! Why the hell was I so horny now? I could feel my pussy aching for attention and I tried to tell it to stop, but wondered if it was the frat boy. I watched as Betty flirted with him and my pussy got wetter and wetter. What the hell was wrong with me?
“Well, we have to go now. I guess we’ll see you later!” Betty said, closing the door.
“Bye!” I called as he waved desperately at me. Betty locked the door and turned to face me.
“That was rude.” I said.
“You’re rude, Y/N.” She said.
“Whatever.” I rolled my eyes. My brain drifted a bit and I ended up thinking about my double-sided dildo I had upstairs and smirked.
“Hey Betty, come with me I have a surprise for you.” I said.
“What is it?” She asked.
“Wouldn’t be a surprise if I told you, would it?” I asked and pulled her to my room. Once inside I quickly turned and locked the door. I was going to take care of myself with the help of Betty, it’s her punishment for being such a bitch all the time.
“Okay, what is it?” She asked and I smirked.
“You’ll see.” I said and pulled her to me. I kissed her right then and there. She was so shocked, but didn’t stop me. After a moment she actually leaned into the kiss. Our mouths were hungry. My arms wrapped around her waist and she gently wrapped her arms around my neck. MY tongue slipped into her mouth and I felt her giving herself over to me completely. Both our hands wandered all over each other.
“Y/N, you feel so good.” She moaned into my mouth.
“You do too.” I moaned. I pushed her off me and onto my bed, stripping her of her clothes then myself. I spread her legs and smirked up at her.
“I’ve wanted to do this since I met you.” I admitted to her and myself. My tongue stroked her pussy for the first time and she tasted good. It wasn’t long till I had her whole body shaking as I worked her clit.
“I-I don’t think I can do this.” She said, trying to get out of the situation.
“Oh no Betty, you’re going to do it. You said you wanted to and now you’re in this.” I said and crawled over her, sitting right on her face.
“Now you can go anywhere. I know this is what you want, Now lick my pussy you little lesbian slut!” I said.
“Stop!” She screamed but my pussy covered her mouth so her words were muffled. I made sure all she could taste was me. I rubbed her clit all over her tongue and she was forced to try and please me. I knew I was right when she really started licking me, she wanted this. She was hitting all the right spots and I moaned out in pleasure, cumming all over her slutty little face.
“Lick my ass you slut!” I commanded her as I spread my ass cheeks and served it to her mouth. She just laid there, letting it happen. She licked my asshole and my screams of joy filled the room.
“Good little slut, I’ll give you a reward.” I said and reached down to her pussy. My fingers slipped inside and she moaned into my ass and I smirked.
“That’s a good little slut, cum for me.” I said as her body was shaking. She came hard on my fingers, but never stopped licking my asshole. I moaned loudly and came all over her face again. I was tired and got off her, laying down beside her.
“I knew you were a little slut.” I smirked and she blushed.
“You can’t tell anyone.” She said and my smirk grew.
“We’ll see about that.” I said. I only needed a few minutes to recover, so I got up and grabbed my double-sided dildo from my drawer.
“I’ve been imagining you on top of me riding this since I bought it.” I said and laid down again. I pushed one end into myself and moaned.
“Alright you little whore, get on top of me now.” I ordered her and she listened. She got on top of me and hovered over the other end.
“Don’t be all shy now.” I said and pushed upwards so the other end’s tip went inside her. She made a noise of shock and surprise as I pushed her shoulders down so she slid down it. I pushed her all the way down so there was no dildo left to be seen.
“Alright bitch, ride me.” I said and smacked her ass. I saw her blush and smirked. She slowly started moving and I moaned at the feeling inside me.
“That’s right slut, ride me.” I moaned. I slapped her ass again and she moaned.
“Faster whore.” I ordered and she instantly started bouncing faster. My moans got louder as my orgasm approached.
“Fuck!” I moaned as I came. As I was cumming I watched Betty move her hands to her clit, rubbing herself till she started to scream.
“Don’t you cum without my permission!” I growled and she pulled her hand away.
“I didn’t say to stop.” I said and rubbed her clit for her.
“Please!” She begged and I smirked.
“Please what bitch?” I asked and she looked down at me, desperation clear in her eyes.
“Please let me cum Y/N.” She begged and it was music to my ears.
“Say your my little fuck toy.” I ordered and she blushed slightly.
“Say it or you don’t get to cum.” I threatened and her blush deepened.
“I’m you’re little fuck toy.” She whispered.
“Louder slut.” I said and smacked her ass.
“I’m your little fuck toy!” She screamed and my smirk grew.
“Cum bitch.” I said and she screamed in pleasure. She didn’t stop bouncing as she came and I knew she was mine forever.
“Good little fuck toy.” I said as she fell forward on my chest and pet her hair. She was mine.

Warnings: swearing, make out, violence
(September 1)
We’re one minute away. Come out hoe!
You smile as you read the text, glancing at yourself in the mirror again, nerves and excitement ablaze in your stomach. You’d been planning for this day since last winter, and now it was finally here. You adjust your carefully styled hair and double check that the natural makeup you applied was sitting on your skin correctly.
Of course it was. That goddamn injection sometimes made you feel like a vampire out of twilight and sometimes you still got surprised when you saw your own face while passing a mirror or a particularly reflective window. You smooth down the ruffles of your short black skirt and tug the top of your tank top down so a bit more of your curves show.
You put on your white sneakers and tug your shirt back up to cover your chest again. We’ll have to work up to that, I guess. A long honk sounds from outside your apartment building and you curse as you scramble to grab your backpack and phone before running down and out the front steps.
“Awwww,” You say sweetly at the sight of the two girls who had become your best friends. “That’s the shirt you were wearing when we met, Ally.” You jokingly brush away a tear, pretending to be ultra touched.
“Best damn day of my life.” Ally says from her spot in the drivers seat, laughing at your dramatics. She may be joking around, but her sentiment makes your heart clench. This year really was going to be different.
***
(July 3)
You quickly realized you needed to find some Midtown friends if your plan for senior year was going to work. If you dared to show up looking, well, like you do, completely alone and friendless, you might become even more of an outcast than you were before. The first month of summer had been the least lonely time of your year so far, thanks to a certain Spiderman.
The two of you spent most of your nights together, flying through the city, fighting crime together, and talking. The “slow” nights that used to fill you with boredom quickly became your favorite when he was involved. The sound of his laugh and the jokes he makes during fights quickly became the highlight of your days.
But you couldn’t let yourself get too distracted by him. After all, neither of you knew what the other looked like. The only other boy you’d ever found remotely cute (other than celebrities) was nerdy Peter Parker from your high school. He wasn’t your usual type and he seemed to be just as shy as you were, so you had little (zero) hope that it would ever lead to anything more than a smile during the hallway if you accidentally made eye contact.
Sorry Spiderman, but no way in hell are you gonna make me lose my focus. The loneliness you had felt through the last three years of high school was too much. Your plan had to work. So that night as the two of you patrolled together, you softly mentioned that you were going to a pool party tomorrow and wouldn’t be able to meet.
He seemed a bit disappointed, but you brushed it off, trying to remember the names of the girls at your school who seemed nice. Peter, however, couldn’t focus on anything other than the fact that you had told him where you would be tomorrow. There was only so many pool parties in a city like New York.
You tried not to think about who was under the Spiderman mask out of respect and, to be honest, it seemed like a pointless endeavor. Peter was not the same. No matter how tired he was from patrol, he always had time to lay awake before he fell asleep and picture what you would look like under the mask.
There wasn’t very many people who understood Peter’s secret life. None, actually, until you. Maybe that was why he was so intrigued by you, because you were so similar, but in his heart he knew that wasn’t it. He liked you. And he hated himself for it. But once you mentioned the pool party, he made sure to take one long last glance at the color of your hair before you two said goodbye. Just in case he happened to see that same hair tomorrow.
(July 4)
You were so, so nervous. Your closet of exclusively sweats and hoodies was trashed as Part 1 of your plan, much to your mother’s happiness. She had always been honest about her hatred of your junior year clothes and was extremely excited to purchase everything you needed. As distant as she was, you had to give her a little credit.
Although you’d been wearing the new clothes for the past month, this was the first time you were doing it so publicly. Your denim shorts exposed miles of smooth leg, and you’d decided to wear a red tube top in honor of the holiday-not to mention it really showed off your curves. You’d meticulously done your hair and makeup like you’d been practicing the past month and prayed that somebody would talk to you today.
You’d seen the flyer for the Fourth of July party on Instagram, which had been step 2. Unfortunately, you had two followers. Your mom and her boyfriend. Step 2 is a work in progress.
One long walk later, and you’re in front of the address. You swear you could explode of nerves right there, but instead you take a deep breath and force your legs to carry you inside the house and towards the people out by the pool.
Your eyes are so focused on your destination, the glass sliding door, that you barely notice when you bump shoulders with someone, causing you to drop your phone.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry. I wasn’t looking where I was going.” You say, reaching down to grab your phone.
“Oh my god, stop. That was totally my fault.” You stand back up to see the girl who was speaking, and you recognize her immediately. Her name is Ally, and she’s a part of the most popular group at school. Despite her long black hair and sweet smile, you haven’t heard many good things about her. Not the type of person you were looking for.
“Do you go to Midtown? I don’t think I’ve seen you around.” Ally says, making no move to walk away from the conversation.
“Yeah, actually. My name is Y/n?” You don’t miss the way her eyebrows raise and her eyes widen with confusion and shock. You’re embarrassed now, realizing maybe you weren’t as invisible as you’d thought. In an effort to explain away the last few years, “My dad left a couple years ago and it was pretty hard on me, but I’m all better now.” You flash the most dazzling smile you can manage and hope she accepts it.
“No way, mine did too!” She gasps as she grabs your hands. You feel a small pang of guilt at that. It was a lie, you had no idea who your dad was and frankly, you didn’t think your mom knew either.
The conversation starts to flow between you and Ally easily as you make your way out to the pool. “This is my best friend Betty.” Ally introduces you to the sweet-as-pie girl and the three of you quickly fall into a conversation like you’d known each other forever. A few of their guy friends tried to come up and talk to you, but she just waved them away. “Leave us alone, we just met our new best friend.”
You felt bad for judging Ally so harshly earlier, blindly trusting the stupid rumors you’d heard about her. Popular or not, the three of you got along better than any of the other friends you’d tried to make throughout your life. They do briefly make fun of your instagram before forcing you to take and post pictures with the two of them by the pool. They both tag your account.
Peter didn’t seem to share the good luck you did. He’d dragged Ned to 6 different pool parties across the city and saw no one who looked like Sapphire. Disappointed, he spent the night patrolling alone and dodging fireworks.
***
(September 1)
Since that day, you’d become a trio with Ally and Betty. The day after the pool party you’d woken up to nearly 1,000 followers on your instagram. Everyone from Midtown who never gave you a second look when you had your hood shoved over your head now wanted to be your friend.
The three of you spent the rest of your summer days together, and you fit into the popular friend group better than you could have imagined. Maybe you watched too many teen movies, but you expected them to be mean. The only mean one was Flash, and even he was basically harmless. You’d given up Saturday night patrols with Spiderman for a weekly girls night with your new best friends. You thought having new friends and a bustling social life would’ve made it easier to forget about Spiderman, but somehow he seeped into every area of your life.
That damn laugh. As Ally and Betty sing along to the radio loudly, you bite your lip to stop a dumb smile from rising to your lips. God, just thinking about him made you flustered. As Ally drives into the school parking lot, nerves bubble in your stomach.
As if you aren’t stressed enough, your brain decides this is the perfect moment to remind you of the one night this summer you and Spiderman haven’t talked about since.
*** (August 14)
The two of you were sprawled out on a gravel rooftop next to each other. Not the most comfortable of relaxing spots, but you’d both grown tired of flying around under the summer heat with no hint of trouble for miles.
“This sucks.” Spiderman huffs out.
“Rude.” You reply quickly, even though you know he isn’t talking about you.
“Oh, no,” He immediately sits up. “I didn’t mean you suck, I just meant, you know, because there’s not much going on right now and it’s hot and-” He sees your cheeky smile and stops himself with a laugh. “Sorry.”
“No, it’s cute.” You bite your lip. The fuck did I just say? Before you can begin to explain, he jumps to his feet.
“Spidey sense, let’s go!” You jump up too and follow after him as he jumps off the building. Thank god. I’ve never been so grateful that someone’s in trouble. The fight was tough, even with the both of you. These men had strange guns that keep firing at you and Spiderman even though you’d tried multiple times to crush them with your powers.
“The guns are magic-proof! I can’t destroy them!” You yell over to Spiderman as you take down one of the men in between punches.
Somehow, two men get ahold of their guns and corner you. Just as you start levitating to fly over them, a web shoots from somewhere behind them and the men and their guns are yanked away. Spiderman wastes no time and you swear he seems angry with the two men as he webs them to the wall next to their friends before picking up the guns and violently smashing them on the ground.
You’re still frozen in shock, watching him. When he seems to be satisfied with the broken pile of guns on the floor, he runs back over to you. “I’m so sorry, I know we promised-” You finally break out of whatever trance you were in to place a finger over his lips, casting a disgusted glance towards the men staring at you from their webbed cocoons.
“Not here.” You say quietly, and fly the two of you quickly up to the roof. He blinks for a second, his head spinning from the speed. You rarely use your full speed, especially with him, but you had to get out of there. “Okay, go ahead.” You say after a second of silence.
“I’m so sorry, I know we agreed not to get in each other’s way, and I know you can handle yourself, probably better than I can. Hold on, I didn’t mean I handle you. That sounded weird. Anyways, I just got so angry when I saw those men pointing their guns at you I had to-” He’s talking about the agreement you two had made when you first started working together. You both obviously were skilled, so you agreed that you wouldn’t interrupt each other’s fights unless asked.
“Spidey, I really don’t care you interrupted. It was hot.” JESUS CHRIST NOT AGAIN. You immediately winced and slap a hand over your mouth. “Oh my god I did NOT mean to say that I’m so sorry.”
Your rambling is cut off as Spiderman’s hand travels up to the bottom of his mask and you think your eyes might fall out of your head with how wide they become as he begins to pull it up, revealing the soft pale skin of his neck.
His jaw, chin, and then lips become visible as he lets the mask rest on his nose. The 0.5 seconds that have passed since you stopped talking feel like an eternity until he suddenly leans forward, crashing his lips into yours. Spiderman is an amazing kisser, you decide, as you gently kiss him back.
WHAT AM I DOING? Your mind is going haywire but instead of stopping, you deepen the kiss and nearly smile when he lets out a low moan. Everything you’ve told yourself about focus and distractions flies out the window when his gloved hands clutch your waist and pull you closer to him than you thought possible.
It feels like it’s only been a second when he pulls away, but your eyes flicker to his swollen lips and you know it must have been longer. You smile as you stare at his lips, only inches from yours, but as your gaze moves to the rest of his exposed skin the smile drops slowly.
Your rational mind comes back. It’s easy to forget when you’re with him that you’ve only known each other a couple months. How could you do this? Your first time making out with a boy, and he doesn’t even know your name.
“We shouldn’t be doing this.” You whisper as he starts to say something.  “Sorry, what were you going to say?” He blinks slowly and takes a deep breath before stepping away from you.
“Nevermind. See you tomorrow.” And he swings away from you. You silently curse yourself for being such a big mouth, wanting to know what he would have said. You can’t help the small voice in the back of your head, telling you that you made the wrong decision.
You raise your hand to run your fingers along your tingling lips before flying home as fast as you can.
***
(September 1)
You wince at the painful memory before reminding yourself everything was back to normal the next day and neither of you mentioned it again. You still weren’t sure if that was good or bad. You force all thoughts of Spiderman out of your brain and even give Ally an encouraging cheer when she successfully parks on her first try.
You don’t remember Midtown having so many fucking students last year, but maybe it was because they were all staring at you. Any confidence you’d had as you opened Ally’s car door had disappeared as everyone around you turned to gawk. The bright smile you’d pasted on a second ago quickly fell and you glanced at Ally nervously.
“Come on, girls!” She says enthusiastically, grabbing an arm from you and Betty as she breaks the brief moment of awkward silence. God bless you Ally. As the three of you hoist your bags over your shoulders and make your way into the school, you mouth a quick thank you her way, hoping she can see your genuine appreciation. She smiles at you. “I’m happy we’re going into this year as three instead of two.”
Betty leans forward to smile at you. “Me too, y/n. I’m really happy you’re here.”  You smile back brightly. There really was no one as sweet as Betty.
“You won’t be so happy I’m here when I talk your ear off during class.” The three of you continue laughing and joking your way down the hall to stop at your lockers.
“Oh my god, is that Y/n?” Ned interrupts Peter’s latest ramble about his night with Sapphire. Usually, he really did listen. Ned was fully invested in the superhero love story, as he called it, unfolding. But the sight of a girl notorious for hiding in her own baggy clothes across the hall in a miniskirt and tank top was more important.
“Y/n?” Peter asks, confused why Ned wasn’t paying attention. But when he turned around to see what Ned was staring at, he understood. He’d seen you around school the past three years, but never like this.
You looked like a fucking model. And everyone in the hall couldn’t help but stare. “Holy shit.”
“Right, dude?” Ned breathes out, the two of them shamelessly staring. “Why didn’t that happen to me over summer? Oh my god, of course she’s friends with Betty.”
Peter laughs as his best friend goes on about “two pretty best friends” but he can’t take his eyes off of you. The light in your eyes as you joke with your friends, making them double over in laughter, feels strangely familiar. Or maybe that’s wishful thinking on his part because you’re extremely pretty.
He watches in surprise as you and Ally walk up to the AP Chem classroom, waving goodbye to Betty sadly as she heads off to English. You turn to walk into the classroom after Ally, but you pause and look back down the hallway-right at him. Instead of yelling at him for being a creep like he expected, you smile at him widely before heading into the class. He exhales deeply and glances down at his schedule quickly, a smile appearing. AP Chem.
Of course his thoughts are still consumed by Sapphire, but it was hard to ignore you especially after seeing his name on the seating chart next to yours in the back row. Plus, Sapphire was the one who’d shot him down after he finally tried to make a move after catching onto the hints he thought she’d been dropping.
He felt bad for thinking that about her, he didn’t blame her at all. He knew there was a million reasons they shouldn’t be together-and he didn’t want to know specifics on why he wasn’t good enough. Sapphire hadn’t brought up that night since, and he was fine to pretend it never happened.
You were already in your seat at the lab table, but Ally was still standing next to you waving her hands wildly as you two spoke. He doesn’t want to interrupt so he freezes in place, unsure of whether or not to go sit down. He’d thought you were cute, and a little shy like him in freshman and sophomore year and he remembered the many times he would look at you from across the room like he is now.
His eyes had been quick to find you whenever you two were in the same room ever since the first day of school freshman year when you smiled at him in the hall. Even last year, when all he saw of you was a curled up lump at your desk or a sliver of hair peeking out from behind your hood he still noticed you.
Luckily for him, the bell rings and he slides into his seat just as the teacher begins speaking. “Hi, Peter.” You lean over to him, your shoulders nearly touching, and whisper so the teacher doesn’t hear. “I’m y/n.” You smile warmly as his cheeks and ears turn light pink.
“You don’t have to introduce yourself. We’ve gone to school together since we were 6?” Now it’s your turn to be embarrassed and you purse your lips together.
“No, I know, just-” Peter notices you seem a bit frustrated as you glance around the room and then lean even closer to him. “Everybody thinks I’m new.” You nervously mess with your bracelet.
“You do look a bit different.” He points out and you raise your eyebrows before sighing slowly and shrugging.
“I was just sick of feeling invisible, you know. Not because I care what anyone here thinks. Last year was just, really, really lonely.” Peter watches you intently as you speak, hanging onto your every word.
Your confession made him sad. If only he’d been brave enough to ask if you were okay. You pause for a second and meet his eyes. Any other guy in this school would’ve laughed at you by now. You gesture to your outfit and nervously adjust your skirt. “I’m also not a superficial person. It wasn’t about changing how I looked, I just needed the confidence to put myself out there.” You pause and nod towards Ally with a smile. Peter glances over to Ally and sees her blow you a kiss, which you catch across the room with a giggle.
I miss you! She mouths with a dramatic frown and this time Peter laughs quietly with you. “I thought she was a bitch before I met her.” He looks at you with surprise to find you smiling at him. “But,” you hold up a finger for dramatic effect, “because I put myself out there, I met my best friends. A lot of people around here judge on appearances. I’m not like that anymore.” You say with confidence.
“That’s really cool of you.” Peter whispers back, and the sound sends an involuntary shiver down your spine. He’s so close to you and the feelings you thought you left behind two years ago don’t seem so left behind as you stare into his warm eyes. “For the record, I’d be your friend no matter what you look like.”
Peter has only been this nervous a couple times before in his life, and he can’t help but feel like he’s betraying Sapphire with the way he’s thinking about you. He watches as you smile warmly at his words and extend your hand towards his.
“Friends? Even though I'm so much uglier now?” You pout your bottom lip out, a smile tugging at the corners of your mouth. He nearly laughs out loud and has to remind himself you’re still in class. “I know guys go wild for the homeless man sweatpants look.” You’re both trying to hold back your laughter, shaking silently in the back of the class as he raises his hand and grabs yours.
“Friends.” Peter isn’t sure why he keeps going, but he does. “And just so you know, you were never ugly. I don’t know why you tried so hard to hide yourself last year, but even then,” the words leaving his mouth sound confident but Peter takes a deep breath before looking up from his lap to meet your eyes. Your wide eyes and surprised smile give him just the confidence he needs to finish. “You could never be ugly.” Peter can hear his heart beating.
You blink at him. This boy could not be real. Here he was, basically implying that the one thing you had wanted all along, for somebody to notice you, was true. Not only was it true, but it was Peter fucking Parker telling you this. Despite everything that had changed you in the past year, the giddy feeling in your bones brought you back to sophomore year and pining over Peter.
“Really?” Your smile spreads and he seems to let out a deep breath of relief.
“Yeah.” He smiles back at you until your sweet moment is interrupted by a fat ass syllabus dropping onto the lab table in front of you.
“Fuck,” you whisper. “This class is gonna be so much homework.” You turn the page so Peter can briefly see the list of projects alone, and it’s enough to make him cringe.
Something about the way the whispers travel back and forth between you all class makes you realize you hadn’t fallen into a friendship this easily, even with Ally. Even with Spiderman, your brain points out.
A red and blue suit swings into your mind and you are hit with a wave of guilt. Not two hours ago I was thinking about my make out with Spiderman, and now I’m comparing him to Peter?
You have all but one class together, and you can’t help but glance in Peter’s direction any chance you get. The only time you don’t see him is at lunch, even though you look all around the lunch room for him or the boy he’d been standing with this morning. You thought it would be too creepy to ask him where he’d been.
Finally, the last bell of the day rang, and you were sure if you didn’t have superpowers you would’ve been exhausted. School is kinda draining when you actually acknowledge people. Ally and Betty share your complaints about being tired on your drive home, all three of you agreeing you need naps. You kiss them both on the cheek and wave goodbye before heading up to your room.
Forget what I said about having superpowers. I’m fucking tired. You lay down on your bed, groaning into the pillow at the thought of having to patrol tonight. You sat up abruptly. You’d never dreaded patrol, it was always the thing you looked forward to. You glance towards the suit in your closet and sigh.
It’s not patrol I’m nervous about. It’s him. You feel incredibly guilty about today. I’m not a two timer. If I want to like Peter, I have to talk to Spiderman about that kiss first. You start to make your way over to the closet before another wave of exhaustion hits, sending you straight back to your bed.
After a nap. Then we’ll talk.

Your feet drag you out of your apartment the second the words left Peter’s mouth. He had called you and explained to you what happened. Your purse over your shoulder, car keys in one hand and phone shaking in the other.
“What do you mean?” You ask, trying to comprehend. Hot tears fill your eyes the second you hear his words for a second time through the speaker.
“She was in an accident, Y/N. They called her parents already and they’re on their way. I’m with Ned, he’s driving. Just, be safe a-” You couldn’t even listen to him anymore. Your vision turns blurry as sobs escape your lips. Peter sighs and tries to get your attention as he repeats calling your name.
“Y/N! I’m on my way to yours, we’ll drive together.” he says before hanging up and leaving you in the silence of your room. You only nod and lower your phone as you stare ahead of you, remembering what happened only a day ago.
The grin on her face disappears the moment she registered what you said. Your eyes turned glossy and you looked down, trying to hide the fact that you were about to cry.
“What? What did you say?” She came closer to you, in an attempt to take your hand and lock your fingers. You stepped back, back hitting the door behind you and pulling your hand back.
“Mj, you heard me…,” She shakes her head, muttering “no, no..” until she looked up to you again and the tears started spilling out her eyes. You only nod, not being able to drag out any words. You didn’t want to do this, and she knew. But you had to, after what Tony told you, that’s what she didn’t know.
Tony had told you about his job, and about the many times Pepper was in danger because of him. It started off as a normal conversation between him and you. He was just trying to warn you of the dangers of your new job as an almost-avenger.
You had gotten your powers after being bitten by a spider, the same way Peter got his. The only difference: you were better at keeping secrets. That’s why it took Tony almost six months longer to recruit you, after he recruited Peter.
Since Mj didn’t know why you were doing this, she kept asking you why. Pulling you in, but you resisting. Her hands reach to you, only for you to step back, again.
“I promise you, I don’t- I don’t want to do this, Mj. I just,” you looked up and let out a shaky breath,”I’m so, so scared! Please, just understand.” Were the words you let out before turning around, stepping out of her cozy home and walking home.
You weren’t going to forget this night.
And you didn’t. Oh, how much you wish to have stayed and hold her in your arms, telling her that everything was going to be okay and you weren’t going to leave, never.
Instead, you are waiting in front of your front door step for Peter and Ned to pick you up and drive you to the hospital, in which your now ex-girlfriend lay.
You don’t even notice them pulling up after seven minutes of waiting, until a black car honks and pulls you out of your crying state. The window rolls down and Ned waves at you. You quickly get up and sit in the backseat, taking out your phone and scrolling through the messages you got earlier today.
You had tossed your phone against the wall when you came home yesterday and ignored every call and message you got, most of them from Mj, which you now regret more than ever.
Mj 🌺
y didn’t u pick up?
look ik you probably don’t want to talk but at least give me a reason??!
hellooo?
A couple more of her asking for reasons and demanding to know why, two messages from Ned and the last one from Peter, telling you to drive to the hospital. You sniffle, tears threatening to leave your eyes, again, and look out the window at the houses and trees melting away as the car passes them. It was still morning, which is why it was dark. Why was she out this late?, you asked yourself and look at her messages again. She sent her last one at two am.
Mj 🌺
u can’t just do this and leave?
yk what? i’m gonna find out myself
A gasp left your mouth as more tears slipped past your eyes. She was on her way to yours to find out why you broke up. She tried to find out why you ignored her calls and texts and didn’t want to be with her anymore.
“Ned?” You ask quietly when he stops the car in front of the hospital. Peter gets out and opens your door, taking your hand and helping you out. Ned steps out, too, and makes his way to the registration.
“I’m sure she’s fine, they-” before Peter could finish, you jog after Ned and stand next to him. An old lady, hair pulled back in a tight bun, wearing a white coat and tired smile sits in front of you. She glances up at you and then back at the computer screen in front of her.
“We’re here for Mj, she came in an hour ago-” The woman cuts off Peter as she nods.
“You three are related to her in what way?” She wants to know. Ned opens his mouth but shuts it when you’re about to interrupt him.
“Her brother,” you lie and motion with your hand to Ned and back at you. “And I’m her girlfriend.” She looks sceptical at first, as if she knows you’re lying. Then, glancing back at the screen and you, she gives you the floor and room number.
You instantly turn around and make your way to the elevator, the two boys behind you thanking the woman silently and following along with you.
You step out the lift and look at the long, empty hallway in front of you. On each side were big, grey painted doors with small windows. The hallway is empty, except for two nurses who sat behind the reception. There were paintings by kids hung up on the white walls and a long, white lamp luminating the corridor in low lights.
“Number 305, 305, 305,...” you murmur as you make your way past the doors on your right. Peter darts from door to door on your left, whilst Ned is following you and takes a double-look, as you seem to skip over them hastily.
“Guys, guys!” Peter hurries you to the closed door before him and peaks through the small window. You take a sharp intake of breath and grab the door handle swiftly, but you stop yourself.
“Wha- why did you stop?” Ned wonders out loud.
“I think I’m the least person she wants to see right now,” you say through glossy eyes and biteyour bottom lip. Peter scoffs.
“Dude, she wanted to see you. She’s been asking about you non-stop yesterday. The least you could do is go in and be the first one she sees,” he demands and slowly pushes the door open, “and explain,” he narrows his eyes at you and pushes you in, closing the door quietly after stepping in with Ned.
Walking in, you plant your feet at the end of her bed. There was a food try on a small table next to her, with a bouquet of flowers and a small card. You couldn’t make out much of what it read, except for a “get well <3”, which you assume must’ve been from Betty. It resembled her handwriting.
An IV connected to her left arm, that was draped over a white, thin blanket with black spots. The lights were low, but the wide and tall window let in an excessive amount of light, as it was getting brighter outside. The second patient bed in the room was empty and tidied, and the privacy curtains were on one side. The TV next to her head was turned on, silently playing some cartoon she must’ve watched before falling asleep. The room smelled like lemon-cleaner, which made Ned hold his nose before he got used to the new smell.
Her head was draped to one side and her eyes shut. There was a white band around her head and you could see that her hair was a little shorter; They must’ve cut it to attend her wounds, you think. That thought alone made your eyes turn wet again and step away from her. Peter shoves you back to the bed and motions to the girl laying on the bed.
“I can’t, she probably hates me now,” you shake your head as tears threaten to spill again and your hand goes straight to your chest, fisting the fabric on it.
“Y/N, you can’t ju-” There was movement on the bed, which made Ned stop talking. Mj moved her head, slowly opening her eyes. She looks around the room before her eyes settle on you three.
“Wha-” Her voice comes out harsh and croaked. Coughing, she goes on, “What the fuck.”
Ned stifles a laugh but goes back to serious when Peter glares at him. Your friend on the bed moved up again. Peter nudges your shoulder, signaling for you to go and help her. With wide eyes, you stare at him, arguing with your eyes to stay back.
“Wait- Y/N, go help her. I’ll tell the nurse she woke up,” Peter demands as he leaves the room, without sparing you a last glance. Ned leaves with him, silently apologizing and wishing you luck.
You walk to the small TV first, turning it off and moving it away from the bed and replacing it with a chair to sit on. You take the remote next to her bed and push the button for the bed to lift and make it easier for her to sit. She grabs the blanket tight in her fist and lifts her body up to sit straight, you help her and adjust the grey pillow behind her back.
“Uhm, hi,” you whisper, looking anywhere but her face as you sit down. She was confused, a frown sitting on her lips and her eyes squinted at your figure. You didn’t want to face her so soon, even less in such a situation.
“I’m- I’m sorry, I don’t really know what to do and,” you sniffle,, letting out a sigh, your face hiding behind your hands as you rub your temple. “I came to- to see you and ask how you are?” It sounds more like a question leaving lips. You didn’t know how to start the conversation.
“What?” A small laugh leaves her lips, which calms you down. Her laugh and giggles always help you through difficult times and make you feel a kind calmness you only experience with her. She doesn’t seem mad, you think before mentally slapping yourself- she had just woken up from surgery after getting into a car crash because you wouldn’t tell her the truth.
“How do you feel?” You wonder. “Do you remember anything that happened?” She nods and looks down at her hands.
“No, no. This is going so fast. You- you broke up with me, for no reason, and now you’re here saying you’re sorry?” She searched for an answer. Her eyes were boring into you, waiting for a valid answer. She had every right to know, but it was complicated for you to explain.
“I’m-” The door opens and Peter walks in.
“The doctor’s gonna come in to check,” he comments as he sits down on the chair next to the small blue table. Taking out his phone and unblocking it, he starts mindlessly scrolling through it, ignoring you and Mj in front of him.
“Uhm, Pete?” You cough and tilt your head to the side, signaling for him that you weren’t done talking.
“What- Oh,” he whispered as he got up again. “How do you feel?” He walks up to the bed and looks at Mj. She glances at you and back at him, pursing her lips before talking.
“My head kinda hurts, my ribs hurt when I breathe, I can’t sit straight and my girlfriend broke up with me. I feel excellent!” She replies, sarcasm dripping off her voice.
That 's Mj for you. Sarcasm is what gets her through the day, there's not one situation in which she stayed serious. The day she asked you out, she reminded you of how obvious it was that you had a crush on her and that you’re not really good at hiding your flustered state everytime she catches you staring at her in class. Spending more time with her after your first date just proved it for you even further.
Peter lets out a breath and looks at you. “Should I-?” He points to the door and gives it a look. You nod and put your lips into a thin line as he leaves the room slowly, apologizing and closing it quietly.
“I’m so fucking sorry. I shouldn’t have done that yesterday. It’s just,” you stop yourself and breath in slowly, stopping yourself from exposing your secret. She doesn’t know about your alter ego. All the times you wanted to tell her, you were too scared she’ll be mad you didn’t tell her sooner or ask why you lied about doing homework and went patrolling instead, facing any danger there was out there waiting for you as if it was nothing.
You were already scared something would happen to her because you told her your secret. And now? Now, she lay in a hospital bed in front of you, with broken ribs and a head wound, because you didn’t tell her about your secret.
“What? What were you gonna say?” She presses. You lean back on the chair, hugging yourself as you stare into her beautiful brown eyes.
“Will you promise to not tell anyone?” You ask, already scared of her reaction.
“Tell anyone what?” She frowns. “If you’re gonna tell me that you lo-”
“I’m Capes,” you blurt out before she can finish her sentence. To your defense, you already knew what she was going to say. Letting her finish would just drag this out longer.
“Capes?” She asks again. You nod and lean forward. Tony picked the name for you. It was simple yet mysterious. Most people think of somebody wearing a cape, who can fly, and is strong. Yes, someone like Superman. This was your disguise: making people think of your abilities as something completely else and not letting them know. This way, they could assume all they want, and never find out your true abilities.
“So, you’re...an avenger?”
“No, well yes, but actually no,” you shake your head and go on,” I fight with P- uh Spider-Man, but we do talk with the avengers and meet them,” you explain.
“And what exactly does this have to do with our relationship? I might have skipped something, but, why did you break up? Because you’re a superhero?”
“Yeah, that’s the whole point.” You shyly smile at her.
“Tony told me about the danger Pepper was in and-”
“Tony Stark?” Her eyes go wide as she clutches the blanket on her stronger. You nod, again.
“Yes, Tony Stark. The internship, remember?” You remind her. You had told her about having an internship with Peter at Stark’s. She supported you through it, always motivating you to do better. She nods and lets you continue.
“Tony told me about the danger Pepper, his wife, had and still has to go through. With the world knowing he’s Iron Man and who he’s married to, they could take her any time or do something to hurt him. I- I didn’t want this to happen to us. It reminded me of you,” you whisper.
“But I guess me not telling you and lying just got you in more danger.” You let out a breathy sad laugh. Her eyes soften when she understands.
Her hand rests limp by her side. You dared to take it and lace your fingers with hers. She glances down to them and back up to you, squeezing your hand lightly and sending you a light smile.
“I- I never knew…” “How? I never told you. I don’t want you to feel bad, it wasn’t your fault. I lied to you. All the times I stayed over at the library? I was on patrol. That one time I told you I was sick? Tony had called me in to try on a new suit. I’m sorry,” you apologize, looking at her with sad eyes.
“I know it wasn’t my fault. It’s just...I never would’ve thought you were the one fighting alongside Peter or that you actually went and saved a little girl and her cat from a fire, instead of arriving to our date on time.”
“Yeah, I know and-” You stop yourself. “What? Peter? What, no,” you laugh nervously, shaking your head repeatedly. How does she know?
“Don’t worry, it didn’t take me that long to find out. At first, I thought you were cheating everytime you and him left at the same time or skipped class together. It hurt, you know? But, after being sceptical for a long time I had enough.” You frown, a pang in your chest at the thought of her thinking you were cheating. You would never, she meant anything to you. Never in a million years would you think about trading her as if she was nothing just for something like a hookup.
“I followed you once and you ran into this, really dark and smelly alley, with Peter behind you,” she whispers. Your heart breaks. “Em, I’d never. I promise, you mean so much to me and I’d never trade what we have for anything else. I regret this so much. I’m so, so fucking sorry. Please,” you whisper and shuffle your chair closer to the bed. Your left hand rests against her cheek, wiping the tear escaping her eyes.
“Are you- Are you still mad?” You ask. “You have every right to be mad, I’m sorry. But I told you my secret and I have to know if you don’t tell anyone because even if we stay apart now, you’d still be in danger if people found out we dated,” you rant and look behind her out the window to calm down.
“Shut up,” she whispers as she comes closer to you, and you scoot closer, too, making it easier for her.
“What do-” She pulls you closer, resting her forehead against yours and breathes in. “I said, shut up,” she murmurs against your lips and pulls you in, pressing her lips against yours and grabs the back of your neck. Your eyes open wide with surprise before flattering close slowly, getting used to the kiss.
She pulls you closer by the neck, her soft lips moving against yours smoothly. You can hear your heartbeat thud with excitement in your own ears. This wasn’t the first time she had kissed you, but you still need to get used to her lips pressed against yours. Your noses bumps against each other, making you pull away awkwardly and look at her rosy cheeks
“Oh.” You turn around to look at the door, Peter and Ned standing there.
“I think this means you guys are good?” You turn back to look at Mj, her loving eyes already staring back at you. You quickly look down, flustered under her gaze.
“Yeah,” you respond and squeeze her hand three times. It was your secret way of saying ‘I love you’ before you came out to the others and were left to say goodbye in front of them.
Peter and Ned sat down on a chair and high fived each other, happy for their two best friends being back together. She looks at you. “Does Ned know?” She whispers your way, only you can hear her. You are taken by surprise. You didn’t expect her to mention your secrets in front of him. “Yeah, he does.”
“By the way, Peter,” She starts. He lifts his head and looks back at her, nodding. “How was it being recruited by Iron Man himself? Fought alongside Thor, yet?” She winks at him. He blushes and snaps his eyes to you, asking why she knows.
“I didn’t tell her:” You shrug and look back at her. “She’s just smart, y’know,” you add.
“Dude!”

I Don't Believe He Desires Me
Before I continue I want you to know I will be talking a lot more about Betty in this post and there will be a brief mention of r*** in this post.
I keep mentioning how Betty is more than just an insecure girl, that she's more complex than that but I don't really explain it all too well.
I've been lingering with this thought for quit a while now and though this is something that is mentioned in future episodes and I try not to bring such far away episodes into the breakdown of the current episode I feel like it's important to do so in this post.
Betty's first time.
We're still in the same day as Betty with her new look. Aura Maria and Betty are sitting outside talking and Aura Maria is asking her if she desires her boyfriend and Betty explains that their relationship is more than just seggs but an intelectual relationship where they talk about thought provoking subjects and things that stimulate their brains.
Betty has mentioned in the past when she's writing in her diary that she is really attracted to Armando in a physical sense but I noticed a hesitation from her when talking about this with Aura Maria and isn't only because she's not used to talking about this but for another reason because its while Aura Maria tells her that she might be weird if she doesn't even desire him to a small level or that he might be gay that Betty confesses that she is attracted to and that she does desire him. Betty isn't that uncomfortable talking about the subject with Aura Maria so why does she hesitate?
Her first relationship in the romantic aspect was traumatic on it's own however in the physical sense it was more than traumatic.
Betty thought of herself so hideous before Miguel that she thought no man would ever be interested in her until he came along. He really did force Betty to have feelings for him. He courted her, her sought her out and he manipulated her through small gifts and cards with poems and dedications that soon Betty started to develop feelings for him. Once he had her in love he plain out pressure her to have seggs.
Though we are only told the general story of it we can understand why it was painful.
See Betty in love has always been unconditional, she has been sweet, kind, loving, and faithful. She has been unwavering in loyalty. She wasn't any less of that in her relationship with Miguel. The same way she is right now with Armando and his gifts is the same way she was with Miguel. Miguel's attention built her self-esteem, it built her self-worth.
Miguel manipulated Betty's innocence's and her low self-esteem to serve his own agenda without ever feeling anything, not even empathy, towards Betty. He made her feel special, desired, wanted, and attractive to him. He worked so hard to build her self-esteem just to pressure her to sleep with him so he could win a bet.
How does this affect Betty to this day?
I once mentioned that to Betty this translated that she was so heinous that not even her love convinced Miguel to love her.
Diving in deep it translated to something so much worse.
[This is your warning to skip to the next [RED].]
Her first time must've felt like r**e in the after math. I've thought about this for so long that it's the only way I could ever explain it.
For Betty that first experience has left her feeling like no man would ever be attracted to her in a physical sense, that no man would ever be attracted to her because of her personality. That she is so disgusting, so worthless that no man would ever notice her and the one who did was horrified by her body and felt a disdain towards her as he had seggsual relations with her. She was left bare, naked, and destroyed and the entire neighborhood laughed at her expense. They spoke badly of her for what Miguel did to her. She herself said that he "Suggested" that they have relations and though at fist she didn't want to that she decided to because she loved him and she gave all of herself to him that first time.
Her first time is enveloped in guilt, shame, embarrassment, and self-hatred that it causes her to not aspire for more in the relationship she is currently in. To keep herself safe and away from harm she doesn't want to believe that Armando would ever be attracted to her in anyway other than admiration for her intelligence and she doesn't want to feel guilty or like she forced(r**p) him.
[You may proceed below.]
She doesn't aspire for Armando to be attracted to her in that sense. She doesn't aspire for Armando to desire her or want to sleep with her. She's content with the kisses, with the dates where they dance and have intelectual conversations. Though she does desire him, she doesn't aspire for him to feel the same way. In an effort to self preserve her subconscious pushes her to only view Armando as a man who isn't seggsually driven, however Betty is fully aware that he is and she denies this fact for the sake of her heart.
She knows that he is, she says it herself that night at the museum but this time Betty says that she doesn't want to pressure him to do something he doesn't want to(like desire her or have relations with her, again this goes in hand with the idea that she has that she is so hideous no man would ever be attracted to her enough to desire her and that if they ever did have relations with her it would be forced.)
While Betty and Aura Maria are having this conversation in another part of the city Armando and Mario are having the same conversation(huh I just realized both of these side kicks are named Maria, except well Mario is the male version... and they're talking about the same thing, interesting...).
Armando, scared, asks Mario if he really believes that Betty would jump his bones of those days, to which Mario says that Betty is crazy for him so he does.
In the previous post(Betty's New Look) I mentioned how these episodes are to push Armando to accept to some degree Betty's physical appearance and his attraction to her(even if it's based on personality it is still attraction) and that he also had to confront his inner self that he's Betty's boyfriend.
In this scene he not only has accepted this but he also accepts that he has a relationship with her as he tells Calderon that the relationship he has with Betty is based on more intelectual stuff.
Mario then goes on to say than what's the point of having a lover if all he's gonna with her is have cerebral conversations, that the point is to have as much s. relations and for it to be good.
Armando proceeds to say that that's why he has Marcela and that's the only thing that keeps them together.
Back to Aura Maria and Betty:
"Betty remember, nothing about cerebral relationships or intellectual or anything like that. A relationship is maintained by appearances, you keep it with the bed involved, mija, otherwise someone more experience comes along and takes him and you end up like the fool."
"No Aura Maria, truth be told, I think he admires me for who I am, for my knowledge, for my career but I don't think... I don't believe he desires me." she looks at her embarrassed and sadden.
"Ay Betty, be careful, because of that guy doesn't manifest himself seggsually break up with him, mija, break up because there's only two reasons. One he's gay or you don't inspire him at all." Betty looks off, worried and confused her self.
This is why Betty starts acting so...heavy in the next couple of dates because she's testing him to see if he does desire her, if he does want to be with her, if he is attracted to her because she knows! She is fully aware of how seggsual the man is.
Back to Mario and Armando.
Mario has now told him that s. is the best way to compliment a woman because it means you desire her however Armando tells him something.
"I don't desire her, I am not crazy about, especially now with that new look.(can't understand what he says at the end)"
When Mario and him talk about plastic surgery. He does entertain the idea but dismisses it when he says that Marcela wouldn't allow that as well as tell us that Marcela is so controlling that she checks his bank records. Personally, I don't care how many people think that Betty would agree to get that plastic surgery if Armando told her to, she wouldn't. She said it herself in previous episodes that she doesn't believe in plastic surgery and that true love goes beyond what is skin deep. She said so in the first episode and when Bertha was talking about getting lipo. She said that with her self-esteem being non-existing and having no ego and her ego has grown just a tad bit since starting that relationship with Armando.
Even in this same episode when Aura Maria tells her to get plastic surgery Betty tells her that she won't because that's for women who like to get attention, that she is more discreet. One could argue that for love Betty would do anything, but even for love she didn't go all out on her new look because though Betty is unconditional one cannot fight the subconscious nature of our brain and the desire to maintain itself safe so even if Armando did agree to the plastic surgery and told Betty about it she wouldn't go ahead because her issues are far beyond just skin deep and she knows that.
In the next scene Betty is faced with AA's picture on Armando's desk and we hear Betty remembering what Armando said about AA. As she stares at this picture Daniel walks into the office and clears his throat.
"How are you, Sir?" Betty hurried to stand by her office.
"Worried, displeased, surprised. You and I ma'am agreed that as soon as money came into the company that you'd deposite what was mine to my account and in my account there's nothing."
"Yes I understand, Sir. I'm embarrassed with you but we had to pay roster but by first hour tomorrow we'll deposite your money." Betty proceeds to smile. "You've got my word, Sir."
Daniel proceeds to look her up and down and tell her "Is your word as serious as your look." and her proud smile disappears. "'cause that attire, that hairdo, more than an assistant to presidency, you look like an circus assistant." Betty stares at him hurt.
"Excuse me?"
"Yes I know Armando is a clown and that this entire company is just clownery but that doesn't mean that you should be dressed like one. You have to have a little discretion."
Betty here tries to stand up for herself and tells him "Excuse me Sir but you're offending me."
"No the one that's offending here is you." and Armando is seen walking towards his office, through the open double doors we see him stop on his tracks and look at Betty. "What were you thinking? When you got dressed in that clothing? What went through your head when you were doing your hair? Did you think you looked devine?" Armando now looks at the back of the head of Daniel like a bullseye. "No ma'am you look worse, so much worse."
"Sir please, respect me. You're treading on something personal."
"Tsk tsk tsk. I'm butting into the imagine of my company. Do us the favor to come like a normal person. Are you convinced that because you have a boyfriend(Armando for a second unfocused and turned to look at Betty and then focuses again on Daniel and his anger) you can do what you want and finish with peoples retina? Please, pity humanity."
"Daniel Valencia." Armando prepares to yell at him furiously. "Get the hell out of my office! Now."
"Hello Armando." Daniel turns to him.
"Hello nothing! Get out of my office now! and stop disrespecting my assistant."
"The one who is disrespecting everything here is her. She is disrespecting aesthetics, the company, the retina. Someone with such an important title. Someone who practically manages the company under the incapability of her president. Someone who has under her command a company that designs style, fad, and color can't be dressed like that."
"What? Did you not understand me Daniel Valencia? Get out! Now!" Armando grabs him by the caller of his blazer and they spin(honestly this reminds me of valet lmbo).
"Sir, please."
"Out!"
"Be very careful. I am not one of your clowns. Don't you ever place your hands over me again."
"Oh no?"
"Much less push me."
"You didn't like that Danielito? You didn't like that?" He moves to grab him again but Betty goes to hold him back. "What then? What then!" He yells.
"Sir, please." Betty pleas.
"Get out!"
"I understand that you defend the economist but her bad taste?"
This retaliates in him understand that Armando in the past defended Betty's job in Eco Moda and that he was aware that she is smart but for him to defend her on something so personal, he doesn't.(You're blind, Danny boy).
"No then, Tarzan and cheetah(someone explain this to me... why cheetah? Tarzan killed it.)."
Now lets bring the previous post and this one to a concluding halt with the following break down.
After watching this exact scene so many times I feel confident in my understanding of what we are being shown and told here.
In this exact day, when Betty wasn't around, Armando showed to be upset and furious at Marcela, Patty, and Hugo for their jokes about Betty's new look and the jokes they were making about her boyfriend. Since Betty wasn't around we can conclude that it wasn't projecting or him faking it because he didn't have to prove anything to her right there since she wasn't even there.
Now in this scene Betty's eyes are always on Daniel, never drifting or shifting between Daniel and Armando but focused solely on Daniel and what he is saying. You can tell she's upset, hurt, feeling humiliated but even then she respectfully tries to stand up for herself. Since Betty hasn't taken notice of Armando in the background and Armando isn't even paying attention to Betty but solely focused on Daniel we can asume he isn't doing this for show but in fact feels furious at Daniel exclusively for the way he is talking to Betty.
For a moment though he does look away from Daniel and that's when he mentions that Betty has a boyfriend like all of a sudden he's been hit with the ole "Betty has a boyfriend?" and then realization comes "Right. I'm her boyfriend." and he returns to focus on Daniel. Why is that the thought I decided was in Armando's mind at the time? Because he blinks repeatedly and looks confused for a second before no longer being confused. It's either that or he wondered if Betty told him about the boyfriend or how he found out but decides not to care and only focus on his anger.
Armando up to this point has always been very composed towards Daniel, never shy to to show his dislike and even hatred towards him, however he's never been close to throwing hands. Even when he yelled at him to mind his business(RagTela telling betty they'd give her a commission of 10% if she got them the business deal with Eco Moda and Danny Boy went and snitched on her.) he did so because he was mad that he wouldn't let him do anything in the company without spying on him and he wanted to be left alone but he didn't even make a move to throw hands, he just yelled. This time, just like that night before, Armando is ready to throw hands.
Why does he do this with everyone else except Mario? With Mario, though he says that he doesn't like Betty's new look, that he doesn't have the imagination to sleep with her, and that she's ugly, he doesn't really talk make fun of her. He complains(this doesn't make it okay) but he doesn't say the really cruel things that Mario does and he says really bad things about Betty, like naming a list of all her physical flaws and not once does Armando stop him. He doesn't even tell him to shut up or look angry like in the past. This time he looks concerned, worried, and pained.
While yes he does hate that people devalue and disrespect Betty he doesn't have the balls to actually defend her to Mario and that plays such a huge role. It also shows that Armando is still very much in denial and ignorance towards his attraction to Betty.
Betty is visibly hurt here. She tries not to frown while Daniel says all these awful things to her and even then tries to be respectful while she defends herself. She don't need no man.
When Daniel leaves Armando takes notice of Betty's arms around him, holding him back and though he looks panicked for a second he rolls his eyes and turns to comfort her(see he's forced to place Betty's needs before his own).
"Easy Betty. I just don't like it when people mess with you, for them to bother your or make fun of you." He gently passes the back of his hand against Betty's face in an affectionate way(which he's been doing a lot more as their dates progress 😏).
"Don't worry, Sir, because he's right." Betty turns around and walks to her office while Armando disagrees. When Betty shuts the door to her office Armando stays in his and turns to look at the opposite direction, sits on his desk, and looks thoughtful.
Like I mentioned in the last post; Armando is being forced to accept Betty's appearance and not only because of what Mario told him but because he has witnesses everyone making fun of her while he is now having stronger feelings towards Betty.
This is such an important thing for him to achieve, not only because of his feelings but because this literally is what moves him to be more accepting of said feelings because you really do start to see Armando become more attentive to Betty. He becomes more affectionate, little by little like touching her face a lot more frequent(if I were Betty I'd tell him to keep his hands off my face because acne, like hello?) wanting to kiss her and not pulling away right away.
At the ending this all comes full circle. These episodes are critical to what happens on the B-Day episodes and Armando's reaction for not knowing it was her B-Day.
BONUS:
When Armando enters her office and tells her to not listen to Daniel Betty tells him that it wouldn't hurt her if was all just speculation but she thinks he's right about her new look. Armando lies and tells her her new look is great and she looks devine.
"Really Sir?" Betty looks at him, "Because It for you, only for you. So you could see me differently." She says timidly and laughs softly. Armando's entire expression softens and a smile creeps on his face while he stares at Betty.
He's happy to know that Betty would do something only to make him happy, which again, shows that Betty is the first person to ever truly love Armando while the same thing could be said that Armando is the first person to truly ever love Betty.
Though Armando is lying straight outta his...teeth this is different under context because he's not lying to keep Betty in an affair that means he gets to prove he's better than Nicolas and that Nicolas won't take away his company which is a disguise for his fear that he'll take Betty(though he is worried about Eco Moda too except it's not really his main priority). This time Armando is lying to her to not destroy her self-esteem. In his mind what he is doing is telling her a white lie while also convincing her to go back to her old look. Yes he's lying here but at least it isn't all based on selfish things.
Imma be real with ya, it really concerns me how they NEVER shut the doors in his office whenever they're having "romantic" moments in the office, like yeah son no one is going to walk in there and overhear y'all talking about love and ish.
Anyway again, I need sleep.
'Til next time :)

“All right everyone off the bus and wait inside the lobby!”
Everyone sprung off their seats on the bus and ran to the door. Today everyone was visiting Oscorp, Norman Osborn’s lab, it was some sort of publicity thing so Norman would get elected mayor of New York.
You and Peter were sitting next to each other during the bus ride, it was early in the morning and you had to wake up much earlier than what you would of liked to, so you both were still half asleep. “You ready to go?” You looked over at Peter who was still sitting in his seat, staring off into space. “come on Pete get up.” You pulled Peter up which seemed to snap him out of his trance. “You ok?”
“Yea, I just spaced out sorry.” Peter got up and walked into the aisle with you close behind him. Once you got outside the air was crisp and cold, making you and Peter shiver. You ran into the building to get warm and meet up with the other students.
“Where’s Ned?” Peter asked, you swore you saw him get onto the bus with you this morning, but you’re not sure who he sat with.
Eventually you spot him in the corner talking to someone, “He right over there, but who’s he talking to?” You turned Peter around and inconspicuously pointed to him and the girl.
Peter took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes and the lenses and put the back on to get a better look. “Thats Betty from the schools morning announcement team I th-”
“Thats Betty?” You whisper shouted. “Ned kept bringing up a girl named Betty and I swore her name was Annie, I mean, she looks like an Annie. But I thought Ned just made her up, I didn’t think she was real” You looked over to Peter who was looking a mixture of shock and surprise. “I am so stupid.”
“First off how did you not know Betty’s name we have homeroom together? And second how did you know Ned had a crush on her?” Peter kept his voice down so he doesn’t draw attention to you both, not wanting Flash to overhear and ruin Ned’s chances.
“I think just have a knack for knowing when someone is in love.” You joked
Only Peter didn’t realize you were joking, “Wait what-” Peter started but was interrupted by Mr. Harrington by splitting the groups in two.
“Groups 1-7 on the left and groups 8-15 on the right! AND REMEMBER TO STAY WITH YOUR BUDDY! I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE ANOTHER KID” He yelled, followed by the women working there having a shocked face and her hushing him.
You and Peter were group 7, you caught Ned’s eyes and he pointed to the right while you pointed left. Ned also pointed to Betty with a big smile on his face, followed by Peter giving him a thumbs up.
Peter was worried about what you said, you had a ‘knack for knowing when someone was in love’? What did you mean by that? Peter started to worry that you knew he liked you, and you’ve never confessed anything to him because theres nothing to confess.
No No No, don’t think like that Peter, he thought, trying to hype himself up, if she knew you liked her why is she still around? Surly if she did not feel the same way she would of left. Or she simply does not know. There is still a chance.
Peter was snapped out of this thoughts by you tugging him on his sweater, “come on the groups about to leave.” Peter and you speeded walked to the rest of the group so you were with the group but just in the back. “Are you doing ok Pete? You seem distracted.” You looked at him worried. Sure, Peter was an anxious guy, you even talked to him about if he wanted any professional help, but he assured you that he’s fine, just a tad overwhelmed, but this? He seemed so much more stressed and anxious, not to mention the constant spacing out.
Peter cleared his throat and put his arm around you, “I’m sorry, I guess theres a lot on my mind and I’m not too sure why.” Of course he knew why, he was stressing over the fact you might know he likes him! And also the fact that you might never love him and it was all too much for him too handle.
“Ok, but you know you can talk to me right?” You said as you gave him a side hug, “We’ve known each other for forever and the most important part of us being so close is that we can talk to each other.” You hoped Peter caught what you were trying to say. In complete honesty you’ve loved him for a long time. Ever since you saw him with his oversized glasses and his star wars shirts. But how could Peter Parker, the selfless, kind person ever love you? And how could you ever love someone so sickeningly sweet?
You don’t deserve him, you thought, he is completely in love with Liz and never will be with you.
“I know that,” Peter pulled you out of your thoughts, “I just don’t know whats wrong. I just kind of have a weird feeling.”
Peter hoped you would drop the conversation at that point. He didn’t want to spill his guts to you especially on a school field trip, where you were stuck together. But you just nodded and you turned your attention to the man walking you through the tour.
“And this here is the bio testing.” He pointed towards a room, “everyone needs to put on goggles and a lab coat-”
“Can we keep the lab coats?” Flash asked.
“No, you cannot keep the lab coats they are not complementary. Now hurry up everyone! If we are lucky we will be able to see the lab techs at work!”
Everyone started to quickly put their coats and goggles on, and people started to take photos on your phones. One of the people was you and Peter, “Smile!” He said and you both gave a cheesy smile. “I’ll send it to you.”
“Everyone please put your phones in here.” The tour guide handed out a white buckets and everyone groaned. “It is apart of Oscorp's privacy policy. No recording in certain areas such as the testing rooms.”
Everyone gave quite mumbles about how ‘stupid’ and ‘bullshit’ this was, some a little louder than others, and soon enough you were going thought the door with Peter on your side.
“And here is where we research different animals.” The tour guide showed off the different animals including, snakes, birds and-
“S-spiders” Peter was stunned, he hated spiders. He claimed that how they just don’t make sense, they can climb onto walls, shoot webs and for some reason are strong? He learned everything about them so if he was ever faced with one, and aunt May or Uncle Ben was not around to get rid of it for him, he would know how to get rid of it himself and stay alive.
“Come on Pete, they are harmless. But it is weird in here, it doesn’t seem like there is any research work, more.. testing.” Why were they testing on animals? Oscorp had branded it’s self on being cruelty free, but the again they did say they help the environment, which was a HUGE lie.
You grabbed Peter’s hand and shoved in front of of everyone to the front of the group, “excuse me but what exactly do you do with the animals here?” You ask as a man in a dark suit appears behind a door.
The tour guide starts but the man interrupts him, “And whats your name dear?”
“Y/N”
“Well, Y/n, we do research on the animals to see how we can use some features they have, replicate it, and use it.” The guy is clearly mansplaining, his attitude was intolerable.
“But the equipment you have around here looks like your testing on the animals?” You started but then Mr. Harrington stepped besides you.
“Y/n, I’m not sure if Mr. Osborn can answer your questions thoroughly, lets just continue looking at the animals.”
“Ah, yes thank you. And please make sure not to touch anything.” And with that the man, or apparently Mr. Osborn left.
It shocked you that you were just talking to the founder of Oscorp, and how blatantly rude he is.
“Wow whats that” Flash yelled near the window. You, Peter and the rest of the students all ran toward the window to see what was so cool. In the process a kid knocked over the glass container. As the tour guide saw he pressed the emergency button. “EVERYONE OUT NOW!”
Everyone ran out bumping into each other. Flash bumped into you causing you to trip and fall. “Fucking hell” you groaned. Your whole body was hurting at this point, you started to get up but you cut your hand on the broken glass. “Fuck” Another groan.
“Y/n? How do you feel?” Peter kneeled besides you trying to help you up but ended up slipping on the glass too cutting his hand and causing his glasses to break, “fuck, come on we need to leave.”
He moved his hand let out a small scream, “PETER ARE YOU OK WHAT WAS THAT?” You completely ignored the pain of your hand and helped grabbed his shoulder.
Peter was shaking his arm violently, “The spider just bit me and it fucking hurt.” Peter quickly got up and you both ran out of the room. You followed the others back to the lobby, the tour ended with Mr. Harrington giving your a band-aid thinking that would help and all of the students were pushed onto the bus.
You were bothering Peter with questions asking if he’s ok, “What about your glasses? How bad is your vision? Does your head hurt? My head would hurt hen I couldn’t see.” You looked over at Peter who sat down in his seat and was tapping his foot.
That question took him off guard, his vision was perfect, like he had contacts in. “I can see just fine, but what about you? How’s your cut” He reached for your hand and looked at you. The cut had stopped bleeding but the cut still looked sore.
“At least we have matching cuts now, hows yours?” You reached for his hand, you saw no cut so you looked at the other, also no cut, “didn’t you get cut too?”
“I thought i did, maybe it just grazed me, and not enough to actually hurt me. You should probably rest, you fell pretty bad.”
“Your the one that got bit with by the spider I should be asking about you, i’m surprised you aren’t freaking out that a spider was on your hand.”
“Don’t worry about me I’m fine, do you wanna listen to music?” Peter held up an ear bud and you nodded taking it.
Truth be told everything was too much for Peter, it was like he could feel everything. He felt like he just had 10 red-bulls mixed with 20 cups of coffee. He tried his best to ignore what was going on and sleep but he soon learned he could never ignore what was going on with him.
~~
When Peter thought he got these powers, he did nothing with them, sure he used them to his advantage, maybe to show off at the schools weight room, but other then that he didn’t. If anything his powers made him more confident with himself, he thought that maybe this was a sigh that if he could get powers, he could ask you out.
But all of that changed when we saw Uncle Ben die.
Peter started to be more closed off, he overworked himself to the bone.
As he started to become Spider-Man, in the process he was losing Peter Parker.
Peter lost some of the few friends that he had. His friend circle mainly consisted of you, Ned, and MJ. He only saw MJ at decathlon practice and lunch, Ned and him still had their playdates with building legos but he was clearly not as cheerful.
And with you, he started to text you less and less. You were there when he lost his parents but he was not 6 anymore. He understood death more than anyone else, he saw death happen right before his eyes. You thought that he just wanted some space, maybe you reminded him of him when his parent died. But it got to the point where you were starting to lose your best friend.
You stoped walking to school together, and it hurt. Although you would never admit this to anyone, you felt as though you were losing a part of yourself. Peter was your other half, you completed each other, or thats what you used to think.
You decided to throw yourself into your hobbies. You were trying your best to forget about Peter. Maybe he just outgrew you. Maybe he didn’t need you.
But you need him.
And you hate needing someone.
But Peter felt the same way. When he decided to become Spider-man, he wanted to make sure no one would get hurt from it. And he even made a costume that would hide his identity.
And it was far from good looking.
“Peter dude come on you love her! You’re gonna lose her if you keep pushing her away!” Ned was on the phone with Peter, he didn’t know what was going on with him, no one did. He just wanted his friend to be happy, and thats why him and MJ devised a plan.
“Y/n come on I know you are sick and tired of not talking to Peter! I even think you like him!” MJ yelled on the phone. “You need to talk to him it’s destroying you.”
“She’s the one who’s pushing me away! Im just respecting her wants!” Peter yelled back.
“MJ you’re not listening! You need to realize that Peter grew out of me! He does not want to see me and I don’t know why! I don’t want to hurt him anymore than what i apparently did!”
MJ and Ned had a whole script planned out. They knew how to push you both just right so that you would fall onto the trap.
“Peter just listen to me! When you next see her confess your feelings! If she does not feel the same you will get closure and nothing else will really change from whats going on! You need to talk to someone with whats going on with you. Tell her everything” Ned delivered the final push, almost done then we can get our friend group back he and Mj thought.
“Y/N! Go find Peter and get your closure! Please, if not for you do it for him! You know how he’s acting weird and you are the only one that can get him to open up! SO GO DOWN ON YOUR FIRE ESCAPE AND KNOCK ON HIS WINDOW AND CONFRONT HIM! NOW!”
“Fine Ned, next time I see her, I’ll tell her.”
“Fine I’ll go see him, bye”
And with that everyone hung up on their separate phone calls.
You climbed out of your window and onto the fire escape. It was weird how even though you lived so close together you felt so far apart.
You climbed down one, and looked inside. He was walking around his room, being all stressed, which for some reason was relaxing to you.
You knocked, nothing, so you opened the window and fell into his room with a big thump. “ow”
“Y/N? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU OK?” Peter rushed over to you helping your get up.
“Yes I’m fine Peter but what is wrong with you?” You didn’t mean to sound harsh, but you needed to be. “Why did you stop hanging out with me?” You looked up to him and finally met his eyes. It was refreshing to see him, anytime either one of you caught a glimpse of the other, you ran. “Why did you stop being my best friend?” You voice was quiet now, you didn’t want Peter to know that your voice was cracking.
It really broke Peter, he was just trying to protect you, but in the end - as cringe as it sounds - he just pushed you away.
“You seem completely different, you’re not even wearing your glasses anymore. And fuck Peter I just miss you and your dorky glasses. Did you meet someone? Did you get a girlfriend? Did she not like that we were close?” You were just spitting out whatever came to mind, and this scenario was one you were thinking of all the time.
Peter jumped back at your words, “What no! I would never want to date someone if it ment that I could never see you again.”
Just tell her everything Peter thought about Ned’s words. Everything was a lot. How is he suppose to answer this, just spit it out?
Might as well start with the basics, “I’m Spider-man” Peter blurted out.
“What, you mean like you have a crush on him? Peter thats nothing to be embarrassed of, you know you can talk to me, you know i go both wa-”
“NO I MEAN LIKE I, PETER PARKER, AM SPIDER-MAN!” Peter shouted. Honestly it felt good to say it out loud the first time and he just wanted someone to know. And what better person than you.
“So in the month that you have been isolated from me thats your best excuse you could come up with?” You were appalled by his unbelievable excuse.
“I swear please believe me, like ummmmm HERE” Peter got his ‘suit’ from the  space in his ceiling and gave it to you. “Thats my suit.”
“you and every other fanboy has this.”
“What about... this!” Peter went over to you a picked up.
“what the fuck put me down!” You did not look impressed, Peter was looking around to see how he could prove to you that he was not lying.
“Remember that day we went to oscorp and how you questioned Osborn and when you fell?” You nodded, it was your last time you really hung out with him, how could you not? “I got bit by the spider and they were doing radioactive testing on it, which caused me to be well... spider-man.”
Then an idea sprung in his head, he quickly move past you and went on the fire escape and you followed. “Here, if this does not prove it, nothing will.” Peter jumped onto the railing with one hand on the wall.
“Peter what the fuck you’re gonna get yourself killed please I just want you to be honest with me and talk” You reached for Peter but he jumped off the railing and towards the wall and somehow... did not fall and stuck to it?
“Peter what the fuck?”
“now do you believe me?”
“If i say yes will you come back inside?” Peter nodded, “then yes i believe you”
Peter jumped on the side of the building and back onto the fire escape and you pushed him inside and you followed behind him.
“So since you really are spider-man, why were you so distant?” You finally asked. You were now sitting on opposite ends of his bed, and you were hugging and pillow trying to explode with everything you just learned. Peter fucking parker was spider-man? Nerdy little parker saving everyone, stoping cars with just his body, and defeating criminals? But, he did just stick to the side of his building, thats pretty damn good proof.  Your Peter Parker was Spider-man, the spider-man.
You thought this was just a dream but you didn’t want to wake up because that would mean Peter and you were still not talking.
“I wanted to protect everyone around me. When Ben died,” Peter took a breath and you reached over to squeeze his hand, “When Ben died, I had my powers but I did not do anything. I could of saved him, but i chose not to. So I decided I would become Spider-man so no one else would get hurt. And if anyone found out that you knew spider-man you would be in danger. So i thought if i pushed the people closest to me away, they wouldn’t get hurt.”
It was all too much for you to process. You felt terrible for feeling angry at him when he was saving lives.
“Why were you so distant from me?” Peter looked back up towards you and it was a fair question you both avoided one another.
“I thought I reminded you of your parents deaths. Other than Aunt May, I am the one person that has been in your life since their death and I thought you didn’t want to see me because of it. I also wanted to give you space to grieve.” You felt a weight being lifted off your shoulders by telling him. It was calming. “I also didn’t want to hurt you more, so i thought i would wait for you to open up to me like we normally do, but i should not have been so relaxed about all of this. I just didn’t want to ruin what we had” You took one last deep breath. “I’m sorry.”
You glanced up toward Peter and he leaned in and kissed you. It was shocking at first, it took you a second to process what was going on but then you felt light as you melted into the kiss. You felt as though you two were the only ones left in the world.
Peter pulled back to take a breath, “Ned told me to confess my feelings towards you. I’m sorry I didn’t me to spring it on you-” Peter was interrupted by you hugging him, rapping your arms around his waist and your face on his stomach.
“I feel the same way, Pete. Just please, I don’t want to do that ever again.” Peter at this point was now hugging you back. You missed this, but there was also something knew, and it made you smile.
“I never will, I promise y/n”

Tumblr media
Valentine’s Day 2021
“Okay, what about this one?”
Y/N looks up from the invitation designs she’s been pretended to be interested in for the last ten minutes to see Betty already shaking her head at the sample Polly’s holding up.
“Too boring.” She finds it hard not to huff in annoyance when Betty starts shuffling through the pile in front of her once again.
Too much decoration.
It’s the wrong colour.
Not enough decoration.
The fonts all wrong.
Y/N hadn’t realised picking something so simple like a wedding invitation could be so difficult.
But then again, Betty Cooper had always been a perfectionist.
“So Y/N...” Veronica starts. Even her sister’s best friend, who had been more than happy this morning to help with all things ‘wedding planning’ was desperate to change the subject at this point. “Any plans for tomorrow?”
All four pairs of eyes fall onto her, and she suddenly wishes Betty would go back to her rant about comic sans again. “Actually I have a date.”
“You do?” Polly tilts her head in surprise, looking at the faces of the others to see if they were just as much in the dark as she was.
“Is it with Pea again?” Toni asks with a smirk. It’s not the first time she’d brought him up since the start of the year.
Veronica leans forward, eyebrows raising with interest as she teases. “Oh, tall dark and handsome from the party?”
“If you must know, it’s with a bottle of wine and my bathtub.” Y/N’s the only one to laugh at her own joke, the others just shake their heads in disappointment. “I might even treat myself to a fancy box of chocolates.”
She’s sure the conversation about her love life, or lack there off, was over when Toni playfully slaps at her arm, but Betty, whose taken to organising the samples in piles, has other ideas.
“Toni could totally set the two of you up.” Betty lifts her gaze long enough to eye her sister and then their friend. “Right Toni?”
“I’m perfectly fine, thank you very much.” Y/N frowns. She knew they all had good intentions but their need to always interfere was getting tiresome. She’d rather just find someone her own way, in her own time, rather than having some poor unsuspecting guy thrust upon her by the people in her life who just couldn’t help themselves.
She shudders at the thought of their last failed attempt. “I don’t need a date, tomorrow is just another Sunday.”
“Did something happen?” Veronica asks, sounding almost disappointed.
“Nothing happen.” Y/N sighs. “There was just no spark.”
“Oh please!” Toni practically jumps from her seat at his defence. “I’ve seen Pea with girls at the bar, and he’s never looked at any of them the way he was looking at you.”
Y/N makes a face to hide the flush heating her cheeks. “And that right there, is my cue to leave.”
“But I haven’t even picked the invites yet!” Betty cries out as the others groan in unison.
“Betts I love you-“ She pauses to shrug on her coat and pat the blonde sympathetically on the shoulder. “But there’s only so much of staring at bits of paper I can take.”
And then she’s gone, waving her goodbyes as she slips out of the shop and into the crowds of the busy mall with a sigh of relief.
She’s almost made it to her car when she passes a little chocolate shop on the lower level and feels her steps start to slow. She had mentioned to the others about possibly treating herself to some fancy chocolates so it wouldn’t hurt to at least have a little look.
She half way through browsing their selection, three boxes in hand as she weaves her way through the panicked men buying last minute Valentine’s gifts, when she hears a voice that makes her heart sink.
She jumps when he calls her name, the contents of her hands clattering to the floor. “Y/N Cooper is that you?”
She dives after the chocolate, afraid to look up. Maybe it’s not him she thinks. But then he’s on the floor with her, handing her back a box of truffles and she sneaks a look. Same slicked back dark hair, same breath taking smile he’d given her eight years ago on the football field.
She wants the ground to open and swallow her whole. “Reggie, hi.”
“You look... great Y/N/N.” He helps her off the floor and she has to stop herself from physically recoiling at his touch. Of all the people and all the places in Riverdale, of course Reggie Mantle would just so happen to be here at the exact same time as her. It was almost like a cruel joke. “How are you?”
“I’m-“ She’s cut off by a beautiful brunette wrapping herself around his arm, and her heart drops further. She recognises her face.
She’d seen her in the engagement photos on Facebook. She’d seen her sprawled out on Reggie’s desk two years before.
“Reggie! Here try this.” She ignores Y/N completely as she smiles playfully at the man between them. Reggie’s back to giving her his full attention as he opens his mouth so she can slip a chocolate onto his tongue. His lips close again around her fingers, moaning at the taste, and Y/N would rather be anywhere but here.
“Who’s this?” Katy finally acknowledges her and Reggie gives her a some what apologetic grimace.
Neither of them get the chance to answer before Sweet Pea appears suddenly out of nowhere and wraps an arm around her shoulder. “There you are doll, are you ready to checkout?”
“What?” Y/N blinks up at him, a little stunned.
“You were meant to meet me outside remember?” A bright neon sign would be more subtle than the look Sweet Pea’s giving her, pleading her to just go with it. “So are ready?”
“Oh yeah, sure-“
“Wait aren’t you going to introduce us?” Sweet Pea feels her tense up besides him at Reggie’s question, and pulls her closer.
“I uh- Sweet Pea this is my ex Reggie and his fiancé Katy.” Reggie nods slowly, eyeing Sweet Pea up and down. She can already hear his judgements about his name alone. “Reggie this is Sweet Pea-“
“Her boyfriend.” Sweet Pea interjects and Y/N cough to hide her surprise. “We should get going, it was nice to meet you.”
Y/N’s quick to agree, grabbing his arm and pulling him a little too harshly around the confused couple and out of the store.
A few minute later they’re out in the car park, Sweet Pea leaning against the hood of her car, watching her pace back and forth in a frenzy. She’d barely said a word to him since the two had run off.
“What the hell was that?” Her state of shock finally breaks, spinning to him with wide eyes. Had he really announced they were a couple back there?
“That was me saving you.” He smirks, a little too satisfied. “You’re welcome by the way.”
“Oh god that was awful I think I might be sick-“ She cuts herself off with a horrified gasp, glancing down at her hands. Three boxes of unpaid chocolates still clutched tightly. “Shit! I didn’t even pay for these!”
Sweet Pea watches her spiral further and grabs her arms to stop a total panicked melt down.
“Hey- hey it’s okay.” He says carefully, encourage her to regulate her breathing before some stolen Valentine treats push her over the edge. “Maybe if we just eat them quickly, hide the evidence, they’ll never know.”
Y/N blinks, slowly nodding in agreement before handing a box over.
They sit there in comfortable silence for a while, picking out their favourites before Sweet Pea speaks out again. “So I’m gonna guess by the three boxes of chocolate that you have no date for tomorrow?”
She feels her cheek flush at his observation and shrugs. “No, I guess not.”
“Why didn’t you just call me?” He asks, before reaching for another truffle.
“I don’t know.” She smiles a little sadly, cheeks burning a deeper red. “I guess I was embarrassed.”
“Well that offer to be my date still stands. Standing up again, Sweet Pea holds a hand out to her with a grin. “And you do kind of owe me now.”
Y/N finds herself accepting without hesitation.
-
“Can I ask you a question?” Sweet Pea’s laid on the picnic blanket besides her, leg stretched out as he picks at the label on his beer bottle.
The day had been a lot more fun than she’d been expecting. Y/N had gone in worrying about awkward questions regarding their relationship, fearing judgement from those who knew him best but they’d been nothing but welcoming. Even his best friend and room mate Fangs, had insisted she join them for drinks at the Wyrm that night, not taking no for answer.
She’d even enjoyed the look on both her Mom’s and Betty’s faces when they’d shown up together, confessing that her little joke at the mall the day before had been nothing but that, and she did in fact, have a date.
“Sure.” She shrugs, taking a swig from her own bottle. “Can’t promise I’ll answer it though.”
He chuckles at the way she smirks at him before asking. “Why are you single?”
“Woah, straight to the point.” She chokes a little in surprise.
“Sorry it’s just I’m not blind Y/N, you’re an attractive woman.” Sweet Pea casually points out. “Is it to do with that guy from the mall yesterday?”
“Reggie?” She pulls a face, and turns quickly away from him so she doesn’t have to look him in the eyes. “It’s a long story.”
“We have time.” He discard his drink to the side, moves an inch closer to show her he’s willing to listen if she wants to open up, so she does.
Things had been good at the start. Y/N Cooper and Reggie Mantle, high school sweethearts.
Reggie had been the first to show interest, where Y/N had been more resistant, weary of their age gap, little or not, and the fact he was younger than her. But he was nothing but persistent, insisting he wouldn’t give up until she agreed to at least one date with him at Pops, and so eventually she gave in.
A few cheesy jokes and a cheeky grin over a cheeseburger and suddenly he was all she could think about.
They dated through her senior year, promised to make it work when she went off to NYU and he stayed behind to finish school back at home. After a year of weekend visits and driving to Riverdale as quickly as she could every break, Reggie joined her out in New York, the two of them at college together, practically living at each other’s dorms until they graduated.
They managed to find jobs at their dream professions, moved into a little apartment that they made their own, everything seemed perfect.
Until one day, Y/N decided to surprise him at work for lunch, only to find him a little preoccupied with his beautiful assistant.
Katy Keene.
Just the memory alone makes her chest tighten, even if part of her feels a little relieved to have it all out in the open. Toni was the only other person to know the full story, so it was nice to have someone else’s perspective.
“So that’s it? One bad experience with a guy put you off dating?” He questions, earning him an awkward laugh from her end. “Not all men are Reggie Mantle.”
“It’s not just that Pea...” She’s sighs. There’s so much to the story he doesn’t know, things she isn’t willing to share the details of. “All the men in my life have lied and let me down, even the ones who aren’t meant to.”
“What’s that suppose to mean?” Sweet Pea arches an eyebrow and watches her struggle with the answer.
“My dad he-“ She cuts herself off with a shake of her head. She wasn’t ready for this right now, especially not when she’d already been so open about her past today. That, and the fact that she was enjoying talking to someone that didn’t look at her and only see the pain her father had caused. “He wasn’t a good person and it’s hard to trust someone when even your own father lies to your face.”
She’s caught off guard when he reaches over and places a warm hand over hers. When she looks up she’s met with eyes full of nothing but genuine honesty. “You can trust me.”
There’s no doubt in a mind to make her think otherwise.
For a second she swears she sees his eyes flicker down to her lips, but then he’s pulling away, awkwardly fumbling to sit up straight and the moments over just as quickly as it started.
“What are you doing for Saint Patrick’s Day?” The question slips out, a filler for the sudden uncomfortable silence between them before she starts to ramble. “I know it’s not really a typical holiday but my sisters usually come to New York and we’ve kind of made it a tradition to bar hop through as many places as we can before getting black out drunk.”
He can’t help but laugh, giving her a chance to catch her breath before she can get to the point. “I could use a date.”
“Sounds fun, I’m in.”

Spitfire Sweet Pea x Reader
Okay officially a new story, but don’t worry I am still working on some of my unfinished park as well. So if you follow me don’t be discouraged sweet pea kind of just jumped at me
Tumblr media
I followed Archie as he went to warn jughead about the dangers of becoming a serpent, I had to make sure my brother didn’t ruin any chance of keeping his friendship with him, it was my civil duty as younger sister. Jughead was leaving the trailer as we rounded the corner.
“Archie, Aurora,” Jughead started down the steps looking around frantically.
“We gotta talk Jug,” Archie started.
“Uh nows really not a good time, okay, you need to leave, okay, both of you.” Jughead put his hands on Archie’s shoulder but looked over at me, seeming to just remember that I was standing there too.
“What the hell is going on!” Archie tried to get jughead to talk to him.
“Serious man, take your sister and just go.” Jughead started to try to push Archie way.
“What the hell do we have here?” A strong deep voice that didn’t belong to Archie nor jughead growled from behind us. I whipped my head around to find a rather tall fierce looking serpent with what appeared to be the aftermath of a black eye slowly fading away from his left eye socket, making his way up to us. He was flanked by a few other younger serpents I had seen around. Fangs Fogarty being one of them, he and I had spoken on the occasion and he was one of the few that were nice to me.
“They’re just leaving alright.” Jughead said as he walked over to the tall serpent.
“You’re friends with these thugs?” Archie exclaimed from behind me. My head whipped in his direction ripping my eyes away from the serpents and their leather clad shoulders. Was he being serious.
“It’s not what you think,” Jughead stood slightly in front of the serpents as Archie walked up to him.
“Are you joining the serpents?” Archie questioned incredulously.
“If he survives.” Tall dark and stormy said dangerously. His voice was deeper than I originally thought.
I could see his serpent tattoo on his neck as he looked over at Jughead. “And go ahead and call us thugs one more time.” He started to make his way to Archie and I, a hard look written on his face, he clearly wanted a fight and if I didn’t get Archie out of here soon he surely would get what he wanted.
“Jughead! These are the guys that attacked me.” Jughead placed a hand on the tall serpents shoulder and pushed him back keeping him at arms length away from Archie and I. “And Reggie and Veronica and Dilton, your friends,” Jughead scowled at Archie, I was going to have my hands full with these boys if they didn’t stop soon.
“Is that why you’re here? To warn me?”
“No, I came here to tell you to stay away from Betty and Rory, she doesn’t want to see you anymore, and I don’t want to see you hanging around my place for my sister.” I could see the anger rolling off Jughead in waves. I noticed the tall serpent look over to Fangs and roll his eyes.
“Screw you I just saw Betty yesterday she,” a look of complete horror crossed his face “she was fine.”
“No dude, she’s been wanting to break up with you for weeks, she’s been agonising over it, since you crossed to the dark side, she couldn’t bring herself to do it.” Archie returned a look of remorse on his face.
“What so she sent you, Betty would never do that!”
“If you don’t believe me then call her, and feel free to tell her you’re a serpent now too I’ll bet she’ll love that, she saw where you were headed Jughead, okay we all did, and she knows you can’t be with them and with her and come on man you know it too.” I watched as Archie’s words started to sink in for Jughead, his bottom lip started to wobble slightly and tears gathered in his eyes. Suddenly his face changed.
“Tell Betty I got the message,” a hard look was plastered on is face.
“Yeah, come on Aurora, we’re leaving.” And he started to walk away from his best friend.
“I’m sorry Archie but I’m staying, I’ll see you at home.” He shrugged and walked off.
“Rory, just go home, you don’t need to see this.” Jug came closer to me and spoke softly.
“Listen to him Northsider, you don’t need to be here.” The tall serpent called out to me.
“Why don’t you shut the fuck up, I’m going to be here for my friend whether you like it or not!” I turned my gaze to him, he looked shocked for a spilt second before his eyes darkened once again. Jughead turned to the rest of the serpents.
“What! Did you enjoy the show?”
“Show hasn’t even started yet.” Tall, dark and stormy crossed his arms over his chest before chuckling towards Fangs. Soon enough the serpents had made a pathway with Jughead standing at one end. I stood further off to the side to keep watch. As Jughead made his way through the line up of serpents I cringed every time a blow was landed on him. The gauntlet seemed intense, much more intense than the other challenges he had to go through. He had told me about them because I was less judgmental than my brother and the rest of his friends. Jughead spit out some blood before looking at the tall serpent from before.
“That all you got?” Jughead challenged him. There was almost half a foot between the two boys snd I winced when the serpent clenched his fist around a set of brass knuckles and swung for Jughead’s face. He was knocked to the ground and I covered my mouth in shock. I never wanted to be on the wrong side of this serpent. Jughead got back up and spit out some more blood. I held back a gasp as he looked over at me causing the taller serpent to also look over at me. Something flashed in his eyes but it was gone before I could decipher it. The serpents left, tall, dark and stormy giving me one more look before he urned away and followed the rest of them and I walked up to Jug and cradled his face in my hands. I led him into his trailer and sat him down to the dinning table before I walked into the bathroom to grab the first aid kit. I cleaned up the cuts on his face before he stood up.
“I’ve gotta get to the wyrm. You coming or staying here?” He asked, Jughead was always more accepting of me wanting to be involved in things. Archie liked to lock me away from the world and protect me. I nodded at him and got up to follow him out. The tall serpent was playing on my mind the whole time as I wrapped my arms around Jug as we headed to the Whyte wyrm on his bike. He helped me off his bike even though he knows I don’t need the help, and we made our way inside where the lighting was tinged slightly red and it was dimmer than outside. I squinted before my eyes adjusted and Jughead placed his hand on the small of my back and lead me to the bar where a pink haired girl was standing behind the bar.
“I see you survived Juggie, Tall boy is just over there if you want to go get your very own jacket.” She said to him. He nodded at her before turning to me. I waved him off and turned around on the stool to the girl.
“I’m Aurora, but I usually go by Rory.” I held my hand out to her to shake. She shook it grinning.
“I’m Toni, but I usually go by Toni.” She giggled which caused me to giggle with her. My eyes found Jughead again just as he slipped his arms into his new serpent jacket. I smiled fondly at him.
“Are you two together?” She asked me as she poured out a glass of coke and pushed it towards me. I shook my head taking a large sip of the drink.
“No he’s my brothers best friend, but he knows that I’m more accepting of all of this than Archie is, or really any of our friends.” She nodded at me before gesturing behind me.
“Sweet pea hasn’t stopped watching you since you walked in.” I whipped my head around to look where she was looking and I noticed the tall serpent that had done Jug’s initiation. I looked down at what I was wearing, ripped black skinny jeans with a loose fitting band t-shirt, I don’t think I stood out that much. I shrugged at Toni before turning back around to her, before I could open my mouth to say something to her I heard a booming deep voice from behind me.
“You lost northsider?” I swivelled around on my stool and looked up at the giant of a serpent member.
“No I came with Jughead, got a problem take it up with him.” I turned back around to face Toni as she filled up my glass once again. His hands came to rest on the bar on either side of me, I felt his breath on the back of my neck and involuntarily shivered and I turned my head to look at him. All I could see of him was his deep brown eyes and a dark curl falling onto his forehead.
“The names Sweet Pea, but you are definitely not supposed to be here, this place is for serpents only.” He pulled away from me and I turned back around to look at him as he stared down at me. I could see Jughead out of the corner of my eye but he didn’t intervene he knew I could hold my own.
“Well then I might just have to become a serpent myself, I like this place.” I shrugged and I watched as both Sweet Pea and Jughead’s eyes nearly popped out of their heads.
“You want to become a serpent?” I heard from somewhere off to the side of me. I ripped my gaze away from Sweet Pea and looked at the serpent who spoke. I took a deep breath and nodded my head. Archie could kill me later, I wanted this. Everyone had been nothing but accommodating to me in the short time I had been sitting at the bar. Some of the older serpents had even tried to talk to me while I was talking to Toni. “Names Tall boy little lady, if you want to be a serpent then initiation will start for you tomorrow. Be here at 12 noon, and be ready.” He turned around and walked back up to what I assumed was the office reserved for only the leader of the serpents, usually FP but with him in jail it was Tall boy. Everyone went back to their own business after that including sweet pea, but Jughead made his way over to me.
“Are you insane? Archie will kill you!” Jughead sat down next me and I shrugged.
“I’m sick of being looked down upon as only Archie’s little sister. It’s time for me to be my own person don’t you think?” I asked him crossing my arms against my chest.
“I knew you and I were too similar for Archie’s liking.” He pulled me into his chest as he chuckled looking around. “I don’t know what they do for female initiation though so maybe talk to Toni about it.” I nodded against his chest before pushing him away and turning to Toni.
“So what happens? What have I gotten myself into this time?” She chuckled before filling a shot glass up with whiskey.
“You’re in for a real treat. Everything is basically the same, you get hotdog, gotta recite the serpent laws and gotta grab the knife. Only difference is us girls gotta do a strip tease for the other members.” I scrunched my face up at her as she pushed the shot glass to me. “Drink up, I think you need it because you didn’t think this through.” I nodded at her and downed the shot of whiskey. It ran smoothly down my throat without even earning a grimace from me.
“Wow that’s good, I’ve never had whiskey that smooth before.” I felt a body come up behind me.
“It’s the best the wyrm has to offer.” He breathed into my ear. I turned around and saw an older man maybe in his mid 30’s leaning against the bar beside me. “Only the best for the prettiest girl here.” He brushed a strand of my hair away from my face. “Names Jason sweet cheeks, what’s yours?”
“Aurora.” I could see Toni wanting to say something but I shot her a look to not do anything. Her eyes flickered behind me almost startled.
“Well Aurora, could I buy you a drink?” He asked me leaning in a little bit too close. I nodded my head and he gestured for Toni to get me a drink of the whiskey I had had before. I looked back around the wyrm and noticed Fangs, Sweet Pea and Jughead were all standing by a pool table. Sweet Pea was lining up a shot but our eyes connected briefly before Jason grabbed my attention again by placing his hand on my thigh. “I can’t wait for you to do he dance tomorrow night sweet cheeks.” His eyes were hooded and I could tell he had been drinking most of the night. Jughead came over just as Jason’s hand travelled further up my thigh.
“It think its time to go Rory.” He said to me placing a hand in my shoulder and glancing at he older serpent. I nodded and turned back to Jason.
“Thank you for the drink and the company, I’ll see you around.” With that Jughead lead me out to his bike to take me home.
I pulled off Jughead’s helmet from my head and passed it to him.
“Thanks for tonight, I’ll make sure not to tell Archie about any of it.” He gave me a hug and he was on his way home. I made my way inside the house and up to my room, getting stopped by Archie before I could open my door.
“Have fun with the snakes tonight?” He sneered at me, Archie had never been this way with me and I was curious as to way he suddenly changed his attitude during the night.
“What’s wrong with you? Your best friend just became a serpent to protect himself and his dad and all you can do is make his life hell by saying Betty doesn’t want to be with him anymore? You’re a real great friend there Arch, have fun being on your own because I think he’s done with you now. Because I know I sure am.” I hissed at him before going into my own room.
Sweet Pea POV
I watched as the red head that stuck around to watch the gauntlet for Jones walked in, she held herself differently from every other northsider. Instead of the air around her feeling arrogant she was just confident. She was wearing ripped black skinny jeans and a band t-shirt and I found myself staring at her. Fangs nudged me in the side before giving me a look like go and talk to her. I shook my head at him and took my shot at the pool table ready to destroy Fangs.
“You know, she’s actually really nice, she’s always treated me like I was an actual person. We have bumped into each other at pop’s a few times. Other than being that red headed weirdo’s sister she’s pretty cool.” I chose to ignore him completely but I looked up at her a few times during our game. I noticed she got along with Toni well, the two giggling at something before the red head turned around to look in our direction. She looked down at herself before shrugging and turning back to Toni. I pushed my pool cue into Fangs before I made my way over to the two girls keeping my eyes on her at all times.
“You lost Northsider?” I sneered at her.
“No, I came with Jughead, got a problem with it take it up with him.” She turned back around to face Toni. I moved closer to the girl and placed both my hands on the bar on either side of her. I watched as she shivered as my breath hit the back of her neck. She turned her head to look at me and I was suddenly overcome with the feeling that I should kiss her. Her bright green eyes shone under the dim lights of the wyrm. I could tell she was intently looking at me too.
“The names Sweet Pea, but you are definitely not supposed to be here, this place is for serpents only.” I whispered in her ear before moving away from her. I watched as she glanced over to Jones before looking me in the eyes the best she could from her sitting position.
“Well then I might just have to become a serpent myself, I like this place.” I nearly choked on my own spit as Jones came up to us almost choking as well.
“You want to become a serpent?” I heard Tall Boy say as he made his way over to our small group. She nodded and looked at him. “Names Tall boy little lady, if you want to be a serpent then initiation will start for you tomorrow. Be here at 12 noon, and be ready.” With that he walked away, everyone else turned away from the scene and after I gave her one last look I made my way back over to Fangs.
After a game I watched as an older serpent named Jason made his way over to her, he was getting too close to her snd I could tell she was becoming uncomfortable with it.
“Dude, just go over there. She’s got bite and could give you a run for your money. But stop staring its weird.” Fangs shoved my side again before I took my shoot watching her out of the corner of my eye. I watched as she downed the shot of whiskey he bought her. She looked around the bar and our eyes connected briefly causing me to mess up my shot when he placed his hand on her thigh. She jumped slightly at the contact and I felt my jaw tense, he needs to learn how to keep his damn hands to himself. Jughead watched me before he made his way over to her and lead her out. I walked up to Toni to get myself a beer to calm down.
“You were watching her all night.” Toni said as she cleaned a glass that had just been washed. I didn’t give her an answer because it wasn’t a question. “You helping with her initiation?”
“I don’t get why she gets to just say ‘I think it’ll be fun to be a serpent’ and bam her initiation is tomorrow, most of us are relatives of old serpent members. Ahhh”. Slammed my hand down on the bar in front of me.
“Dude just chill, okay, she’s actually really cool once you get to know her.” Toni told me getting me another beer.
“I’ll be the judge of that. I’m sure Tall boy will make me do her initiation anyway.” I shrugged before finishing off my last bear and nodding to Toni and Fangs before I left.
Aurora POV
The next day I made sure Archie was nowhere to be seen when I made my way out the door. He was stood against my car with his arms crossed.
“Where do you think your going? And dressed like that?” He asked me, I looked down at what I was wearing, ripped grey skinny’s with a tight fitting tank top and leather jacket across my shoulders, under this I was wearing a sexy pair of red lacy lingerie ready for the serpent dance I would be doing later that night.
“I’m going out, to see your best friend because apparently you’ve forgotten you have one.” I tried to push him out of the way to get to my car.
“He chose them Rory, what do you want me to do?” He threw his hands up for emphases before letting them fall at his sides loudly.
“I want you to understand why he’s doing this. He goes to school there! From what I’ve heard it is not the best place to be if your not in a gang for protection, you might not think much of the serpents but in the few short months that I’ve been around Jug and the serpents I haven’t had a problem with them, so maybe get off your high horse and see that your best friend needs you before he replaces you with someone he see’s more as family!” I yelled at him as I finally got him to move away from my car. I slammed the door in his face and watched as his face fell as I drove out of the driveway.
My initiation was quick and all too soon I was standing by the stage ready to perform my serpent dance. I wrung my hands together as Toni walked up to me holding a shot glass.
“They’re all pigs out there, but its part of initiation and if you want to be a serpent all I can say to you is good luck and maybe find something or someone to focus on.” She held out the glass to me and without even thinking I downed the shot, feeling it spread throughout my body as the music started. “I’ll be waiting right here for you with your new jacket.” She gave me a thumbs up and I walked out on the stage.
I looked out into the sea of serpents hoping to find Jughead to have something to focus on. As I flung my shirt off my body my eyes connected with Sweet Pea’s, he held his beer in his hand bringing it up to his lips as I shimmied out of my jeans. He and I held eye contact as I finished up my dance. I could hear all the serpents chanting and hollering at me but all I could focus on was Sweet Pea. As the music stopped I rushed off the stage where Toni was standing with my jeans and new serpent jacket. I quickly redressed myself as Fangs and Sweet Pea joined us to the side of the stage. Sweet Pea helped me put my jacket on before he gathered up my hair to pull out of my collar.
“You’re officially a serpent now. How do you think your brothers going to react once he finds out?” He placed his hands on my shoulders. I shared a look with Toni, I had completely forgotten about Archie today.
“I guess he’ll just never find out then.” I shrugged as the four of us made our way to the bar. I felt Sweet Pea squeeze my shoulder before he sat down on a stool and turned to Toni who had already grabbed beers for us all.
“You’re brother is going to kill you Rory.” I felt Jughead place his hands where Sweet Pea had his moments ago. I shrugged at him as I took a sip of my beer.
“Honestly I think he needs to get his head out of his ass. You guys are actually really cool and I’m glad I get to call you my friends now too. Let him kill me he wouldn’t he loves me too much.” The door to the wyrm was thrown open and all I could see was a bunch of letterman jackets in blue and gold walk in like they owned the joint.
“Aurora! We’re going home now!” I heard Archie yell at me walking over to us at the bar.
“Um, no thanks I’m good here.” I turned my body away from him. He stood over me but I watched as Sweet Pea stood up to my right and Reggie stood up next to Archie. Part of me shied away from Archie and Reggie and the other part of me wanted to be a serpent, so I stood up next to Sweet Pea gently placing my hand on his as a way of telling him to stand down. I placed my body slightly in front of Sweet Pea’s and stared down Archie and Reggie as best I could being nearly a foot shorter than the three boys currently surrounding me.
“You’re one of them now? A serpent?” Archie scoffed in my face, I felt Sweet Pea stiffen slightly and move closer now touching my back with his lower stomach.
“Yes now please leave before you make a fool of yourself even more than your doing now!” I pointed to the door and watched Archie turn his head to look, I grabbed Sweet Pea’s bicep and basically ripped him back towards the bar.
“You know, I’d still bang you Andrew’s even if you are just another serpent slut.” Reggie whispered in my ear closest to Sweet Pea. I felt him tense up again but this time I let him go. He swung his fist into reggie’s jaw and suddenly there was an all out brawl in the middle of the wyrm. I watched Reggie and Sweet Pea continue to go at each other. Archie pulled Reggie off Sweet Pea and Jughead grabbed Sweet Pea.
“You’ve just made a big mistake Rory.” Archie yelled as he dragged the bulldogs out of the wyrm. I turned back to Toni who handed me a shot. I took it gratefully before I turned to Sweet Pea. He had a bruise already starting to form on his cheek and a cut lip.
“You didn’t need to do that Sweet Pea, I can handle Reggie.” I told him placing my hand on his cheek gently so as to not hurt him.
“What’s serpent law number 1 Rory?” He looked me in the eyes.
“No serpent stands alone.” I recited. He nodded and turned his head away from me. “I better go have a screaming match with my brother, I’ll see you guys later.” Toni nodded at me and I made my way out of the wyrm and started my walk back to the Northside

The Aftermath ~ Part 1
Tumblr media
Summary: y/n grudgingly goes on the school science trip to europe and starts making friends in expected and unexpected places
Pairing: peter parker x reader
Warnings: swearing, angst, fluff, mysterio is a dick, trauma, it’s marvel what do you expect
Word Count: 2356 give or take
A/N: happy new year!! i can’t change the past (*endgame*) but i can at least make the future less bleak. i got too excited, so have an early release!
                                                         ///////////
“I think you should go on this trip, sweetheart, I think it’ll be good for you to make connections with the rest of your classmates.”
I rolled my eyes at that statement. “Mom, they don’t see me as their classmate, they see me as the twelve year old who grew up in the blink of an eye.” I flicked my hair out of my eyes and sighed. “They don’t see me as an equal, they see me as a kid. And I don’t really want to be subjected to direct ridicule for a whole week.”
My mom gripped the railing to the stairs and breathed deeply. “We already signed you up for the trip, sweetheart.” She forced the words to come out nicely, or, she at least tried to. “You’re going on that trip whether you want to or not.” She turned away from where I was standing on the fifth step and almost stomped to the kitchen, trying to keep her composure. I knew she really wanted to throw and kick and scream until the cows came home.
I flopped on the bed and dialed the number of the one person who I actually made a connection with during the five years my parents took a “leave of absence.”
“Y/N, it’s been almost three days, I was starting to get worried.” Jessica, my foster mom of five years. The only person I smiled at when I talked to them these days.
“She’s so infuriating, Jess.”
“Tell me all about it.” Jessica was thirty when “the snap” happened. Thirty, and suddenly without a husband and a two year old. She found it within herself to open her heart to others that were grieving, and was connected with me. And I thank my lucky stars every night that she was.
“It’s the same thing, she expects me to be okay with how things used to be, and I haven’t lived with ‘how things used to be’ for five years, it’s not like I can just flip a switch. I don’t even really remember how she and Dad ran the house, and now they just kind of look at me and wait for me to catch up, but it’s not happening. Like just now, she tries to encourage me to go on this science trip for school. And, yeah, it would be fun, except all of my classmates still look at me like I’m twelve. So, I tell her this, and then she just bursts out, ‘Well, we already signed you up so you’re going,’ and just storms off. Like, god, if you had already signed me up, just say that, don’t listen to why I don’t want to go and just shove it down my throat as an after thought.”
“I think you should go.”
I deadpanned. “Did you not just hear my argument as to why I don’t want to go?”
“I did, and those are very valid points, your classmates should be looking at you as one of their own, not the little sister. But, I don’t think not going is going to help your case, either. You’ll just be separating yourself even more. And, plus, it’ll give you a week away from your mom, and I think both of you need some time apart.”
I huffed our the breath I was holding. “Do you always have to be so smart?”
“It’s a gift.” She was smiling into the phone, I could tell, and it immediately pulled a smile onto my own face. “Call me while you’re gone, I want to know about everything.”
“I will. Love you, Jess.”
“Love you too.”
///////////
The car ride to the airport the next day was relatively silent. Dad was driving, Mom was passenger, and I was in the back, my suitcase in the trunk. Mom insisted on helping me with my carry-on sized luggage, and I knew she was going to try to smooth things over with a few words of peace and love, but I wasn’t having it. I wasn’t twelve.
I closed the trunk and looked her square in the face, a move she was not expecting. “I would’ve been fine with you signing me up to go on this trip if you had just told me. You’re right, this is a good way to make connections, especially before senior year. But you made it sound like a suggestion, like I had a choice in the matter. And when I gave you some very solid reasons as to why I didn’t want to go, you telling me you had already signed me up was a slap to the face, because it made me think you didn’t actually care about my reasonings. I’m fine with you taking action, but just tell me, instead of making me think you actually give a damn about what I think.” I gave her a hug, said “I love you,” then walked into the airport without so much as a second glance.
Flash was the first to acknowledge my presence. “You okay, Y/L/N? You look like you got punched in the gut.”
“You’d know a lot about what that looks like, wouldn’t you, Eugene?” Despite my quip, I stopped beside him and set my bag down, keeping my place in the back of the group.
“Seriously, you good? I don’t want you vomiting all over my Louboutin shoes.”
“I’m fine, Flash, though I’m considering puking just because that sentence came out of your mouth.” He held his hands up in surrender and turned away, letting me fiddle with my phone in peace.
“Hey, Y/N.” Brad Davis, one of the few kids in my grade who didn’t get snapped and made it all the way to Midtown. Also one of the people I couldn’t stand. “Ready for the trip?”
“Your perfect teeth don’t fool me, Davis, so go ahead and take about five steps back and just let me stand here in peace.” He turned away in slight disbelief and annoyance, but Flash whistled in approval.
“Damn, Y/N, you turned him down quick. Why the dislike of one of your few un-blipped classmates?”
“Because I don’t trust anyone named Brad,” I replied simply.
“What about Brad Pitt?”
“He’s at the top of the list.” I looked up from the game I was playing and saw the faintest of smiles on Flash’s lips. I responded with my own, then returned to Candy Crush until Mr. Harrington paraded us through security and to our gate. Which we had to wait at for another two hours.
I somehow got squished on an uncomfortable bench/chair combination with Peter Parker and Ned Leeds, which wasn’t too bad until Peter couldn’t stop fidgeting. His constant tapping on his leg, or the armrest, or the ground, prevented me from getting a quick nap in before the flight. And that was bothersome.
“I’m gonna grab a snack, wanna come with me?”
His eyes flicked up to mine almost instantly. “Uh, yeah, sure.” Even standing, he couldn’t stop moving, and it was starting to get on my nerves. We made our way to a vending machine before I asked the burning question.
“What are you so nervous about?” I tried not to sound like I was accusing him; I even asked while I was punching in the number I wanted for my snack.
“Wha-What are you talking about?”
“You haven’t stopped moving for the last half hour, what gives?”
“Oh, I, uh, I’m just a little nervous, I guess.”
One of my eyebrows rose in skepticism. “About flying?”
“You don’t think I’m a nervous flyer?”
“I don’t know, you never struck me as the kind of guy who gets nervous about stuff like that. I’d heard you had the Stark Internship before, I just figured you’d have flown with him or something.” I grabbed the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup that took minimum coercion to fall, but I still saw the flinch Peter gave when I mentioned Stark’s name. “Sorry, that was insensitive.”
“No, uh,” he cleared his throat, “it’s fine.”
“It’s not, but,” I slid out one of the peanut butter cups and offered it to him, “it’s okay for it not to be.” He smiled tensely and took the offered candy, then pulled a bag of skittles out of the machine. “So, what are you nervous about?”
“You’re really persistent, you know that?” I just smirked. He sighed and leaned against a wall, still a fair distance away from the group. “There’s this girl I really like—“
“MJ.” He balked. “I caught you staring, it’s not a big deal. Keep going.”
He shook his head like he was straightening out his thoughts. “Anyway, I have this whole plan to tell her how I feel, and it starts with us sitting together on the plane, but I don’t know if it’ll work out, and I really want it to work out.”
I smiled. A crush. Peter was nervous about a crush. “First of all, I think all of this is adorable. And, second of all, I’ll help you.” I pushed off the wall and started walking back to the group, but Peter blocked my path.
“You’ll what?”
“I’ll help you. If there’s a way I can get people moved around to get you next to MJ, I’ll do it.”
“Why are you helping me?”
“I kind of just bullied you into telling me why you were so nervous, I kind of owe it to you. And, plus,” I shrugged, “this is cute.”
“Oh. Okay.”
Our boarding group was called an hour later, and everyone shuffled onto the plane. Peter was sitting next to Ned, I was next to Brad, and MJ was next to Betty. Less than ideal for at least two of the parties. Ned came to MJ’s row and asked Betty to switch seats with Peter because his “allergies were acting up,” but then Mr. Harrington overheard and decided to intervene.
“Peter, Ned, up, alright, Ned, you’ll take MJ’s seat, Y/N, you’ll be sitting in Peter’s old seat, MJ—“
“Mr. Harrington,” I cut in, “all you have to do is have Betty and Peter switch seats. You can’t even smell the perfume from their row.”
He deflated considerably. “Betty, Peter, go ahead and switch.” He sunk back in his seat dejectedly.
I turned in my own with a smug smile on my face, but it was wiped off quickly when Brad opened his mouth. “What’s got you all excited?”
“I have ten hours of uninterrupted NASA conspiracies to get through.” Then I plugged in my headphones and hunkered down in my seat. I wasn’t actually watching NASA conspiracies, but Brad thinking I was weird would hopefully get him to stop talking to me.
After two hours of sitting next to a snoring Brad, I couldn’t stand being beside him. I stood up and stretched, but my muscles ached to be used.
“Is there something I can help you with, miss?” A flight attendant had seemingly come out of nowhere and almost scared me back into my seat.
“Um, I don’t think so. Just stretching.” She smiled and continued walking, while I stood there, like an idiot.
I went to the bathroom just to get my body moving, but there was turbulence while I walked back, almost throwing me into Betty’s lap. “Sorry, Bets.”
“No worries, Y/N.”
Despite the shaking, I couldn’t help but smile. Turbulence was something I could work with. I sat back in my seat and closed my eyes and focused on the weight and size of the plane, then I focused on the gusts of wind outside. There was a clenching in my gut, and my head nearly split from the concentration, but the winds ceased quickly, and I could relax again. Now I had a migraine, but MJ didn’t look like she was going to throw up.
//////////
We landed in Venice early in the morning, which was good for most, but not so good for the few of us who didn’t sleep on the plane.
“You okay?” Peter walked beside me once we got off the plane. “Did you sleep at all?”
“Nah, I got a migraine about two hours in, after the turbulence, so I was up the whole time. How was it with MJ?”
His smile reminded me of Bashful from Snow White. “It was good. She slept on my shoulder a lot of the way, so we didn’t talk much, but it was nice.”
“Good. What’s the next part of the plan?”
“I’m getting a—“ A dog sniffed his bag and he got stopped and was forced to have his bag searched. “Wha—“
“I’ll make sure Harrington waits for you.”
“Thanks.”
I flicked my hair out of my face and kept with the crowd, then stopped with the rest of the school group just outside of the airport.
“Where’s Penis Parker?”
“God, Eugene, that joke is so five years ago.”
“So are you, Y/L/N.”
I honestly wasn’t planning on my fist connecting with his jaw, but one second I had clean knuckles, and the next they were close to splitting.
Flash almost fell to the floor from the impact. “Ow! What the hell?”
“Y/N! What’s going on?” Harrington was upon us. He wasn’t very good at consequences, but he was trying to be better. No one else could give him a more opportune moment to improve than myself.
“There was a wasp on his face, sir. I had to hit it off.”
“By punching me?” Flash’s hand was clutching his jaw.
“Have you ever met a wasp? They’re evil sons-of-bitches.”
“I won’t tolerate physical violence, Y/N. Consider this your warning.” The crowd slightly dispersed, but I still stood beside my victim, much to his dismay.
“I think you broke my jaw.”
“If I broke your jaw, you wouldn’t be speaking.” I picked up my backpack and handed Flash his. “I deserve to be here as much as you do, Eugene. Just because you didn’t live the last five years doesn’t make mine any less valid.” I knew I promised Peter I would make Harrington wait, but all I wanted to do was get out of that airport.

Why Clint is on Tony’s Sh*t List
Word count: A bit over 3k.
Chapter summary: Peter and Harley are brothers and the children of Tony Stark. Which is highly classified knowledge that nobody outside of the Avengers knows. Until Clint Barton accidentally spills the secret with a technology related mishap.
Warnings: A bit of language here and there. Tony threatening Clint’s life because he did an oopsie.
Peter's POV
In the school that is Midtown School of Science and Technology, everyone is basically a genius of some sort. You have biology geeks, math geeks, chemistry geeks, robotics geeks. You name a branch of STEM subjects, there are guaranteed to be at least 5 masters in every subject.
That being said, being a master in a subject doesn't mean that you would be instantly popular. Sure you might get hounded for homework help, but it doesn't mean you actually make friends as easily. It's more like people want to leech off of your knowledge and don't bother to get to know you.
There's a social pyramid in all schools and let's just say I'm towards the bottom of mine. I build Lego sets, I love Star Wars, I'm a whiz at chemistry and math. But people ignore the fact that I'm 'somewhat' intelligent and focus on the Lego and Star Wars part of my image. Which sucks big time. At least I'm graduating this year.
But at least I have my brother Harley to confide in. We argue over stupid stiff but we both enjoy poking fun at each other.
3rd person POV
Peter was sitting at his usual table with his small group of friends. Ned, MJ, and Betty made up this small group of people.
"So, what are you guys doing this weekend?" Ned asked the group.
"Uhhhh, I was planning on going to see that new movie coming out." Betty answered. "You know, the one with Emilia Clarke and what's his name."
"Oh yeah, I know which one you're talking about." Ned replied.
"You losers can go see a movie, I'm going to a protest outside of Oscorp." MJ replied, sipping her thermos of coffee.
"What did Oscorp do?" Peter asked curiously.
"They're trying to cover up an employee getting severely injured, the safety protocols are shitty, and HR is as usual, the worst part of it all in addition to the censorship of the incident online."
Peter nodded his head, eyes widened.
"Gotcha. I definitely understand why you're going."
MJ set her thermos down and opened her latest book, Speak.
Ned turned to look at Peter.
"Stark internship all weekend?" He inquired.
Peter shrugged and took a sip of water.
"I'm gonna hang out with Harley. Probably do some stuff in the lab. Usual stuff."
Betty shook her head in disbelief.
"I still can't believe you're friends with him." She said. "He's pretty high on the social ladder here. I mean I know you guys have the internship together but it's still kind of baffling that I never see you interacting in school."
Ohhhhh, if you only knew Betty. Peter laughed to himself on the inside.
Nobody at school knew that Peter and Harley were half brothers and the children of Tony Stark. Not even Ned or MJ knew although he suspected that MJ somehow knew or was close to figuring it out. She's scarily perceptive and freakishly good at knowing things about other people that she definitely shouldn't.
The bell rang signaling the end of lunch.
The four friends parted ways and headed to their respective classes.
*After school*
Peter arrived at the tower straight from Delmar's after picking up snacks for the weekend. He had grabbed an assortment, ranging from potato chips to pretzel M&Ms.  He waved at Ms. Maldonado, the lady who commanded the reception area and dashed to the elevator, scanning his pass when prompted.
FRIDAY greeted him when the doors closed.
"How was your day Peter? Harley is already waiting for you. He told me to tell you, and I quote, "Peter, I hope you remembered my PRETZEL M&Ms not PEANUT M&M's like last time. If you forgot, I'm going to steal that new Lego set you were planning on building tomorrow. And I WILL hide it somewhere you'll never, ever, find it. Insert maniacal cackling, blah blah blah."
Peter stifled a laugh at Harley's message.
"Uh, well my day was the usual, you know. And tell Harley I got his stupid M&Ms. And I grabbed him something else too if he promises not to threaten the Legos again."
"Sure thing, Peter."
He exited the elevator to the floor which housed the labs he shared with Harley. There were multiple as the duo tended to accidentally blow things up and would need to have another place to work while repairs were being done. Needless to say, Tony was more than a little annoyed that his kids needed multiple labs because they kept blowing them up. But whatever, he loves them and will pay for it as long as he gets to blackmail them with all the ridiculous stories of what blew up and how it happened.
Harley looked up towards the door Peter walked through and lifted his welding mask off his face.
"Hand over the merchandise, blockhead." He said, his arm stretched towards the bag of goodies Peter was carrying.
"Only if you promise to leave the Legos alone, biotch." He replied.
Harley rolled his eyes and dramatically lifted his hand in the air as if he was testifying in court.
"I promise not to touch the Legos." He said in a half joking tone.
Peter handed him the pack of M&Ms as well as a container of Oreos.
"I still don't understand why you like pretzel M&Ms." Peter remarked. "There's too much pretzel and not enough chocolate."
Harley stared directly at him as he tore open the M&Ms and popped a few in his mouth.
"I don't understand why you don't like pineapple on pizza." Harley shot back as he swiveled around in his chair
Peter groaned.
"We are not having this discussion again."
"Peter you're an idiot if you don't like pineapple on your pizza."
"Harley, you're a disgrace to the entire state of New York if you do. Fruit is not supposed to go on a proper pizza."
Harley chucked a bolt at Peter's head.
"Hey!" He protested as he turned to look at Harley. And then he saw a glint in Harley's eyes.
"Pizza is a dish with everything from the food pyramid. You have grain, dairy, meat, vegetables, fats, and oh, wait, you don't like pineapple so you're missing out. You could be getting every nutrient from the food pyramid but you're an idiot so you miss your daily serving of delicious pineapple on your pizza."
"Oh my god, stop."
The boys busted out laughing for a full 3 minutes, eventually with Harley falling out of his chair. Tony walked in to find his kids cackling at who knows what, and one on the floor, almost incapacitated by his laughter. He sighed before clearing his throat to gain their attention.
The boys sobered up and finally stopped laughing but they had unshed tears left from the fun.
"What on earth were you two dying of laughter over? Should I call a therapist? Do I need to be concerned? Did you eat something that you shouldn't have?"
Harley sniggered as Peter was trying to keep a straight face.
"He was eating pretzel M&Ms!" Peter said, holding back his laughter. "The type that should be illegal!"
"Peter, you don't diss Pretzel M&Ms, they're an underappreciated member of the M&Ms family. If you think pretzel M&Ms should be illegal, you clearly haven't tried the raspberry ones." Harley replied while doing his best to keep his face straight. "If anything, you should call a therapist for Peter and help him overcome his aversion to pineapple on pizza."
Tony looked even more lost than he was before.
"Ok, I don't know what I'm supposed to make of this. FRIDAY, show me footage of what the hell happened while I wasn't here."
"Sure thing boss."
Friday pulled up security footage of Harley and Peter's conversation. Tony watched it as the two teens were snickering behind him. After he understood the situation he turned to his kids and let out a tired sigh.
"Ok, I don't understand your sense of humor, but I came to tell you that we're having Italian for dinner."
Peter pumped his fist and Harley just shrugged.
"Italian is fine by me I guess."
"All right kiddos, be in the dining room by 7ish or else I'll cut the power to these labs. We eat as a family."
*Time skip*
It was 2 am, Monday morning and everything was silent except for the faint noise of shuffling towards the ceiling.
Clint Barton was crawling around in the vents, obviously on his way to do something he probably shouldn't be.
He had lost a bet with Nat earlier and the punishment was that he had to steal something for blackmail off of FRIDAY's databases.
He quietly dropped out of a vent shaft into an important looking office. He didn't bother checking who it belonged to but he was already too far gone to ask.
"Ok Nat, what do you want me to look for?" He whispered into his earpiece.
"Check the computer on the desk. The password is written on a sticky note in your pocket."
He checked his pocket and there was indeed a post it with a password on it.
"Ok, what am I supposed to find?" He asked once he logged in.
"Look for footage from the labs." She said. "Check labs CTS2 and IAI1."
"CTS2 and IAI1, gotcha." He reaffirmed.
He browsed around until he found the cameras he needed.
"Ok, found em. What dates should I look at?"
"Look at this past Friday," She answered, "around 4:45 to 6:15 pm. Tony drank from a can of motor oil instead of his coffee cup. I would like this footage in my posession. For my entertainment, and possibly blackmail to pull on him."
"All righty, ok, uhhhh." He muttered as he searched through that window of time.
He watched snippets of the footage and fast forwarded a few times until he glimpsed footage of Harley swiveling around in his chair as Peter looked exasperated. He paused and rewound to see what the situation was.
As Clint watched the whole argument play out and the aftermath, a shit eating grin began to spread across his face. He emailed himself the whole interaction for his own entertainment (blackmail, cough cough) and went back to searching for what he originally came for. He eventually found it, sent it to Natasha, logged out of the computer, and climbed into the open vent.
"You get it?" Nat asked suspiciously.
"Oh yeah, I got it." He said, trying to hold back the mischievous laughter that was threatening to let loose. He checked his phone to see whether he got the email he sent to himself. But to his surprise and sudden panic, it was not there. His social media, however, was blowing up with comments about the two kids and who they were and theories people were spouting.
"Oh shit."
"What did you do, Clinton?" Nat asked in a threateningly monotone voice.
Clint banged his head on the vent, forgetting that he still had his comms on.
"I may or may not have accidentally exposed Peter and Harley as Tony's kids."
Nat was silent for a moment before she finally responded.
"Tony's probably going to kill you for this, so you should pack your bags right now. Make funeral arrangements as well and update your will."
"Ah shit."
*Monday morning, 6:45 am*
Peter woke up to his phone ringing. He groaned and turned on his side to ignore the call. The phone rang again and he sighed before reluctantly sitting up and grabbing his phone.
What the hell, who's calling this early?
He looked at his notifications and saw multiple missed calls and texts from Ned and MJ. Something must have happened because Ned had typed in all caps, 'PETER EVERYONE KNOWS! CALL ME NOW!' MJ's text just said, 'I knew already. Don't try to hide it from me whenever you come to school.'
Instantly, Peter was wide awake. Did the whole world know he was Spiderman? But how did this happen, who would leak that information and how did they get it?
He called Ned and before he could even say, "What's up?" Ned butted in with a sentence he was not expecting.
"Peter, when were you going to tell me your dad was Tony Stark?! This is even bigger than Spiderman! As your Guy in the Chair, I think this knowledge might have been missing in our conversations."
Peter was at a loss for words as he stood up.
"It's all over social media and people are going apeshit over this!"
"Ned, you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet." Peter replied in a nervous tone as he began pacing back and forth in his room. "How do you know the source is credible? Remember what Ms. Hernandez said about credibility when giving information in an essays or whatever?"
"But Peter, Hawkeye was the one who posted it. You know, the Avenger who shoots arrows?"
Peter stopped pacing and froze midstep.
Uncle Clint was behind this? But why?
"You sure he wasn't hacked?" Peter asked as he feebly attempted to get out of this confrontation.
"No, it's security footage from a lab. Tony said in the video that you guys were a family."
Peter then realized that he couldn't worm his way out of this situation. The whole world knew he and Harley were brothers and the sons of Tony Stark. Of course this happened, why wouldn't it?
"I'm going to call you back, I need to talk to Clint." Peter said.
"Ok, just let me know if you and Harley are going to be ok or not." Ned replied.
"Bye Ned."
"Bye."
Peter hung up and took a deep breath before leaving his room to go find Clint.
He entered the kitchen and almost everyone was there except the one person he wanted to talk to.
"Hey, uh, where's uncle Clint?" Peter asked.
Uncle Steve looked up from his breakfast.
"He left last night. Family emergency."
"Uh huh, so correct me if I'm wrong but Clint left because dad was going to kill him, right?"
Suddenly everyone was avoiding eye contact with Peter. Yup, everyone knew what happened.
Just then, Tony walked in with a very irritated expression.
"I don't think you and Harley are going to be able to go to school today. Some kid from your school, Dash or something posted you go to school with him and know you both. So there are multiple news stations outside the tower and surrounding your school. Might be best to just stay home today."
"Is Uncle Clint still alive?" Harley asked as he walked in, yawning.
"He is alive," Tony responded "Not for much longer though."
"Dad, you can't just kill him." Peter protested. "It's not like he actually did anything that warrants his death."
"I don't think he meant to do it." Harley added. "He deleted it maybe 10 minutes after he posted it but other people recorded it on their own devices and re shared it. He probably realized what he had done and tried to delete it but of course, once it's out there, it's out there."
"Don't kill Uncle Clint, he's got a wife and kids. Besides, we need him on the team." Peter said.
"We don't need Clint," Tony said, waving his hand. "I already got a replacement set up."
Peter had not heard of this new team member that was apparently going to replace Clint.
"Who is it?" Harley asked curiously.
"Kate Bishop. She's already on her way here. Clint trained her to take over the mantle of Hawkeye anyway so it shouldn't be that big a deal." Tony shrugged. "She's a bit older than you two, 18 or 19, I can't remember at the moment."
"Ok, then, as long as she's trusted by you." Peter relented.
"Don't know what she might be like, but if Clint trained her, and they share similar personalities, whatever spirits above help us." Harley said solemnly.
Peter smacked Harley's arm.
"Hey!" He complained.
"She's not even here yet and you are badmouthing her already. Have some manners, dude."
"It doesn't matter at the moment right? You said it yourself, she's not here yet and I will 'have some manners' when she does."
All of a sudden, Peter heard a nearly imperceptible shuffling coming from above. He felt a shiver go down his spine and the instinct to get into a defensive position.
"He's right, you should have some manners young man." An unfamiliar voice boomed from above.
Harley looked around wildly in confusion.
"Who's there?! Are you a spirit from above???" He asked.
All of a sudden, a figure dropped out of the vent directly above Harley and tackled him to the ground.
"And that is Kate Bishop." Tony said, answering the question in everyone's mind.
Kate released Harley from her grip and she helped him up.
"Clint was right," She said, smiling. "Crawling through the vents to prank people is fun."
She looked up to the open vent and held out her arms, to everyone's confusion.
"Lucky, come on down!" She called.
To everyone's shock, a dog with one good eye poked his head out from the vent and jumped into Kate's arms.
"Oh crap, nobody has allergies to dog dander, right?" Kate asked, looking at everyone.
"Maybe? I'm not sure." Peter replied.
"Damn, I should have checked before bringing him, huh." Kate muttered.
Tony waved his hand at the dog.
"As long as he's potty trained, we should be fine." He said, trying to reassure her worries. "We're all fine with dogs."
Peter thought back to all the dogs he's pet on patrol. They always seemed happy to play with him and now there was a dog in the tower. Huzzah, he didn't get to only pet dogs on patrol now!
"Well, all's well that ends well, right?" Peter said.
"How about everyone gets acquainted with Kate?" Tony suggested. "It's not like you two are going to school today anyway."
Peter and Harley agreed and that day became a get to know the new team member day.
Peter texted Ned to let him know he was going to school the next day and invited him to the tower after school to meet someone. Oh the look on Ned's face when he found out would be priceless.

Bølger (1)
Merman!Kae x Reader.
Words: 2,245
bølger means waves.
Tumblr media
The first time you saw a mermaid, it was a merman, his name was Eros and he was huge, his tail longer than your entire body but he was only 15, eight years maturer than you. Since your aunt always spoke greatly about the magical creatures you supposed that all of them were kind -minus goblins, they are never kind-  each took you to the beach's sand nearing the waves.
Eros had light blonde hair, eyes bluer than the water surrounding him, and his sharp teeth alarmed you. He looked at you up and down and wondered why a human so small was reaching him.
But he wasn't one of the nice mermen your aunt mentioned, the brave creatures that protect the oceans, he was a spoiled boy, that didn't like any other species than his own. Humans being the most he dispised.
"Why do you stare at me?"
"You pretty." Your seven-year-old speech not being very sharp to contain all the right diction.
"Yes. I'm Eros, who are you?"
"Y/N."
As the waves were almost minimal you walked further in the water to reach him, to touch his gills, or attempt to catch his hair. Eros discerned your steps and with malice in his eyes, he reached you, his stature nearly the same as yours since he had to be lowered so his tail would remain in the ocean.
"You are not afraid of me?"
"Merfolk are good creatures, they protect the oceans."
"We do, and do you know who we protect the oceans from? I mean who we fight to maintain very far away?"
Remembering the time your aunt said of some species of birds that sink in the ocean to find fishes made you thoughtful, after all in summer it was more than twenty million birds catching fishes. "Birdies."
"No, humans. Your species."
"But we protect too, I and aunty Betty clean the beaches and never toss trash in water."
"Uhu, tell me, little human, would you like to see the ocean? To see the fishes that grace it and even dolphins?"
Dolphins didn't go to the land side you lived in, and you only ever saw dolphins on movies or documentaries.
"Dolphins?!"
He nodded so you jumped excited, ready to see the fishes and luckily the dolphins.
But Eros' idea was contrary, humans were nothing else than a virus slaughtering everything they reached, he knew by how much his grandfather said, that in a distant time ago the ocean was astonishing. It didn't have fallen boats, trash, sewers, nor industries discharging electronic garbage, much less the pharmaceutical ones pouring tons of medications in the water. So getting freed of a stupid human would maybe avoid a little bit more of destruction.
Extending his hand you held it and he pulled you with him a bit further in the water, your feet missed the sand's ground and you moved your little legs to manage to have air. Eros chortled before taking your body and pulling you down in the water, startled by the agile gesture you cracked your lips to gasp and lamented it when water began to fill your mouth.
He swam into the ocean making the beach farther from your, impossible, reach. Your small lungs were on fire when Eros approached a few of his friends, there stood Melin, Jaxi, and Kae. They were puzzled to see a human cub and swam up to the surface to reach the rocks near the mountains.
Eros rolled his eyes but accompanied them to reveal them his... toy.
"What do you think you are doing?" Kae was the first to speak up.
"This was stupid enough to swim alone in the beach over Walrey Coast, it even came to me telling tales." The mermen stared at your unconscious body.
"You cannot kill humans, you know that." Jaxi pointed and Eros rolled his eyes.
"What difference does it make? Our parents are always complaining about   them!"
Melin was quiet but shot Eros a look, it was forbidden to hurt humans unless they hurt you.
And what a human cub would have done alone to hurt Eros? Since all of them were reaching puberty and were becoming stronger and faster? "Eros, you can't."
"Why is everyone bothering me with this? You know what. Done." He unfolded his arms and your body started to float backward in the water, Jaxi pulled you delicately to his chest and touched your neck before looking at Kae and giving a small nod signally that, even if weak, you still had a pulse. "You guys aren't considering of-"
"Killing an innocent cub is wrong, you know that, doesn't matter the species." Kae pointed.
Melin nodded and faced the rocks before glancing at Jaxi and Kae. "We can try to put the water out. It might not be different from saving a sea bear, we only have to press the stomach for them to spit the water."
Eros swam to Jaxi's side and pulled your moveless arm. "It is mine and will be killed and exhibited to our community." He closed his fist around your arm which made his nails pierce through your cold skin.
"She won't!" Kae affirmed and even Melin could spot a protective tone on his voice. "You'll go back and tell Ecthelion what happened, and that me, Jaxi and Melin are trying to save a cub that you tried to hurt."
Biting his tongue Eros looked at his three cousins before diving in the water and going to tell the colony elder. Kae gazed at the injuries and leaned to suck the blood of your wounds before it could touch the water and call any shark.
Kae retrieved his lips and placed his hand over -the less bleeding- wounds and told Jaxi to swim so they would follow.
Under the moonlight, Kae jumped in the rocks and made sure to only touch the polished parts so it wouldn't hurt his tail. Jaxi lifted you so Kae pulled you to his chest, and since you were smaller it was easier for him to fit you on his lap. Jaxi accompanied Kae by jumping in the rocks and touched your face trying to decipher if your color was a light purple or not. Melin dive in the sea to find some seaweed to place on your nails' cuts. It helped them with wounds so maybe it would help you too.
"Don't die now, human cub." Kae spoke and Jaxi touched your shirt taking it off to expose your belly, he ran his hand over the skin and looked at Kae. Human anatomy was different than polar bears.
Jaxi pressed and it only seemed to hurt you. "Here, hold her."
"Her?"
"It looks like a female right?" Kae asked.
"All of them seem the same when they are cubs."
Jaxi held your head on his lap while Kae extended your legs. He leaned and placed his hands over your chest and started to pump.
He looked at Jaxi and they analyzed the lack of gills. "They breath only through the nose." Taking a deep breath and letting an annoying sigh Jaxi cursed Ers under is breath.
Kae paid attention in the way the air left Jaxi's mouth and had an idea. "The mouth."
"What?"
Kae leaned to touch your lips with his and moved his hand carefully to open your lower lip. Realizing it was useless he reached your nose pressing it together and tried to suck the water out of you. Jaxi was surprised by the gesture but didn't understand how that would possibly work.
Getting his hands back at your chest he started to press and kept doing the gesture. "That won't take the water out. They won't-"
Spilling water out of your mouth you coughed with the burning feeling in your throat. Opening your eyes you gazed at the creatures touching you and you yelled completely scared. Kae moved his head by the loud sound but Jaxi shushed you. "We will not hurt."
Crying you started to try to get up. "You will. He did."
Kae sighed seeing that you remembered Eros, you winced and Kae looked up to see you were gazing at the arm's wounds caused by Eros' nails.
Kae placed his hand on your forehead and almost whimpered when you cried completely scared of him. "Sleep." He whispered and you dozed off.
Some merfolk were blessed with gifts, Kae happened to be one of them.
Melin appeared in the water surface by Jaxi's side and lifted some seaweed in his hands so Jaxi could place it on the cuts.
"They didn't wake up?" Melin asked and Kae stole two seaweeds and rolled it around your arm.
"She did but its too scared to hear us." Kae explained, doing his best to prevent his nails to hurt you, again.
Melin gave Jaxi a look and shared a thought when they realized Kae was too worried about your wounds and cold body.
"Kae, we should take them back-"
"Her." Kae corrected.
"Right, take her back. She is too cold and will die here."
Kae looked at them and back at you a couple of times before nodding, but before he could move your body to Melin's arms so he and Jaxi could get into the water and take you to your land, someone broke in the surface.
"What is the meaning of this?" Ecthelion spoke and the young mermen looked at the eldest from their village.
"Eros explained to you?"
"Yes, and i want to know why this human cub is still here."
"Eros hurt her, pierced her skin with his nails and we tried to prevent the blood to call the sharks."
The wise creature understood their point and moved his hand so Kae could place you in Melin's arms and reach him.
They did so and while Melin swam to Ecthelion's reach, Kae and Jaxi jumped in the water.
Ecthelion tasked as he felt your body temperature. He touched your forehead and mumbled ancient words.
Feeling protective of you and afraid that Ecthelion was sacrificing you, Kae reached your body and touched your forehead, prevent that the magic could reach your skin before touching his own. Melin and Jaxi felt anxious about the gest, Kae was the more peaceful of the cousins and the way he was intervening in something that the Ecthelion was doing was unusual.
"You will kill her?"
Gazing at Kae's hand and protective stance, he retrieved his hand and checked your body temperature again. "No, i am making her forget."
"Why? There are thousands of humans that know about us. She isn't like those thieves that tried to sell us."
Kae was decided, all of them could see that. "I know, but she was hurt by us. What do you think it'll happen when she tells her family about it? Or what her people will do if she tells them that merfolk are getting young children and killing them for fun?"
Jaxi cursed Eros under his breath. "They won't think this, it was only Eros that hurt her, we helped." Jaxi explained.
"She is a cub, she won't be able to recognize the difference. For our sake and hers, give me space." Melin touched Kae's shoulder and the young merman swam away allowing Ecthelion to work in your memories.
Seeing a light blue smoke touched your forehead, the old merman retrieved his hand and called the boys to hold you. "Take her home, I'll tell in the docks across there what happened, so Tony can find her and take her to their healers. Go, she doesn't have much time." Kae pulled your body to his and watched as Ecthelion dive in to warn his human friend that lived in the docks about you.
Jaxi touched your arm, which got Kae's attention. "Come on, she doesn't have much time."
Accepting the departure Kae dive in and they swam fastly till they reached Walrey Coast.
There Kae went further he could reach, trying to place you in the dry sand, but his tail would get hurt if he pressed it to harshly so he extended his hand and neared you in the wet sand, the waves still touched it but your nose was safe from water and by the car lights in the distance, he knew your kind was coming to reach you.
He looked behind his shoulders and saw Melin and Jaxi farther and since their eyes weren't focused on him, he took that advantage to kiss your forehead. "Bye, little human. I hope Neptune will keep you safe, and if I'm lucky enough, we will see each other again."
A car stopped and a man with a uniform came running, Kae turned back and swam before they could see him.
In a distance, he reached the surface and watched as they pulled you out of the water, a small golden ring falling from your finger, Kae felt sad that you lost such pretty thing, a cloth was placed around you and the humans ran away to save your life.
Finally, when the car left Kae had to swim in his previous spot where he have left you to search for the ring, duo his better vision it didn't take too long for him to find it.
Kae held the small thing that only served in his pinky. He held the golden bijou and went home.
Sad that you forgot about him, he hopes Neptune will hear his prayers and that he will find you again.
One day.

Thigh fucking, you say? pt. 2
At the suggestion of @tracy7307, I’ve put together what I’m sure is not a comprehensive list of fics that feature the highly underrated sex act otherwise referred to as Intercrural.
I’ve split this into two parts - Part 1 contains all fics under 5k, and below you can find all fics over 5k.
Bottom Steve/Billy connotes whose thighs are being fucked.
Be Okay by XxmerthurcatxX
5.7k - Bottom Billy
Billy finds himself on a date with King Steve himself. It's been ten years since Billy high tailed it out of Hawkins and never thought he'd get a second chance with the boy he could never forget.
sweet to taste (saccharine) by OurLadyofPerpetualWallfflowers
6.2k - Bottom Billy
Billy wanders into the woods to beat the summer heat.
Steve goes into the woods to beat some monsters.
They wind up with an entirely different situation to beat.
Steve Is Too Nice For This Fetish by 3_idiots
6.1k - Bottom Billy
“Uh,” Steve paused. Sexy but mean, sexy but mean--”You’re a… dirty boy.” Billy groaned in the oh-dear-shit-why-way instead of the oh-baby-yes-way and flopped his head down onto Steve’s shoulder. **** Billy has a humiliation kink, Steve is trying.
Paper Bag by mrharringtons
6.6k - Bottom Billy
Billy almost crashes his car, finds an abandoned kitten, and ends up raising it with Steve. -
It's a little life in his hands. And the small twisting, nagging feeling itching beneath his skin is the same as the one that made him pick up that bag in the woods in the first place.
"I know you're not a bad guy, Billy," Harrington mutters, like he's been thinking about it. Billy expects to meet his eyes, but Harrington is looking at the cat. "She can stay here no problem. She's yours. I'm just helping out."
"Why?"
Harrington shrugs. Knocks a knuckle against Billy’s knee. Like that was normal.
"I like helping. Makes me feel good. Like I'm doing something meaningful with my life. Kind of the only thing I'm good at."
get my love caught by Highsmith (quimtessence)
7.1k - Bottom Steve
"Listen," Hargrove says. The tone has Steve reflexively snapping to attention. "Can I buy you a cup of coffee, or, like, a hot beverage of your choice?"
Steve should say no. He's about to say no.
He doesn't say no.
(Or, Steve and Billy meet again, after four years.)
don't want you to get it on (with nobody else but me) by brawlite & ToAStranger
8.5k - Bottom Steve
It all starts with a game. Two truths and a lie.
Billy's not sure how it got them here, his hands around Steve's wrists, pinning him to their door, his thigh wedged between Steve's as they pant into each other's mouths.
Earlier, they had been at a party.
Press Your Space Face Close to Mine, Love by moonflowers
8.5k - Bottom Billy
Hargrove looked about as sour as usual, brow furrowed as he glared at the kids, hair mussed from the standard issue helmet that came with the suit. Steve couldn't shake the thought that Billy had somehow heard his thoughts about how fucking glad he was that they weren't stuck on the same ship, and torn his way across space purely to piss him off. Honestly, he wouldn’t put it past him. He must have felt Steve staring at him, because his attention snapped up, locking on to Steve with his usual unwavering intensity. He looked about as pleased to see Steve as Steve was to see him.
Paint it, red by CeruleanHeart
8.6k - Bottom Steve
"That's a pretty color..." Billy repeated and stepped closer, crowding Steve against the door "... for a pretty boy."
Steve and Billy run into each other behind the arcade. When Steve mixes up his lighter with a lipstick Nancy forgot at his place, Billy decides to mess with him a little bit. After all, what's prettier than a pretty boy with red, red lips?
But as usual when Steve and Billy meet things escalate, only this time in an entirely different way. And soon Steve discovers a new, darker side of himself that's both alluring and unsettling.
The Yard is Full of Shards by Deep_South
9.4k - Bottom Billy
Steve spent the first month after That Day in perplexed confusion, still teased and tormented by Billy’s body, which always seemed just out of reach. At first the selective reveals and concealment of Billy’s skin seemed circumstantial. Billy would always insist that they meet in the dark shade of the woods; he kept the lights off in Steve’s room; and he only climbed into the backseat of either of their cars at night. They were all places where Billy’s body remained shadowed and occluded, with only small glimpses afforded by the weak filter of the moon, or what little light streamed through Steve’s window from the lamps out by the pool. Steve had figured Billy was being carefully paranoid about being seen by others, of being seen with Steve. It took Steve longer than he’s proud of to realize that Billy didn’t want to be seen by *him.*
OR: A lifetime of abuse has left Billy with scars that run deeper than Steve could ever know.
Bright by Kerasines
10k - Bottom Steve
Steve's face looks golden in the light of the setting sun, and when he drops his eyes from where he was holding Billy’s gaze, his eyelashes paint shadows on the light flush of red in his cheeks.
He looks so fucking pretty that Billy’s breathless with it. Doesn’t know what to do, just holds still and can’t tear his eyes from his face as Steve leans in close, too close, to put lotion onto the front of his shoulders, rubbing it in carefully, so carefully, as if he’s trying not to hurt Billy. Touching Billy’s chest, staring at it where it rises with every shallow breath under Steve’s hands.
Then he looks up, straight into Billy’s eyes, and Billy’s sure his brain stops working for a second.
Quick Note: The Following fics are over 10k, so I can’t speak to how strongly intercrural is featured in them, but I’ve included them because it is definitely in there. :)
paint a picture of the days gone by by socknonny
15k - Bottom Steve
The doctors find a way to save Billy thanks to the drugs Steve and Robin were spiked with by the Russians. But something goes wrong... Now, Billy can barely remember his own name, and who the fuck is this pretty boy in front of him? Why does he feel so important?
break up with your girlfriend ('cause i'm bored) by thecopperkid
15k - Bottom Billy
@umissedconnections: Bambi eyes. m4m. i was rippin cigs in the sae p-lot. u made urself puke 2 make room 4 more beer. incredible? ur my hero PLS say ur into guys
* Steve finds he has a secret admirer who's continuously hitting on him via his university's Missed Connections Twitter account. // Tommy and Billy are the worst roommates ever.
your life is a perpetual insomnia by Buildyourwalls
54k - Bottom Steve
After the Mind Flayer takes Billy away, Steve is trying to get on with his life. Until one day a mysterious letter comes in the mail and he embarks on a journey to find Billy with Robin, Dustin, and an orange VW van named Betty at the helm.
A story of love, found family, and a whole bunch of Scoop Troop witticism.
Pretty Broken Boys by Stranger Ships (Imaginary_Boyfriend)
97k - Bottom Steve
Christmas break is over and Billy decides to try turning over a new leaf during his last semester at Hawkins High. Will Steve notice (and perhaps reward) his efforts, or has Billy already burned too many bridges?
(i will try to tag authors later. i don’t know everyone’s tumblr handles, and tumblr gives me a lot of grief when i try to tag people anyway, which i’m too tired to deal with rn, so i apologize)

i didn’t though
youtube
When I was twenty and tractable I listened to “Treacherous” and I believed Taylor Swift was telling me something, because “I’ll do anything you say / If you say it with your hands”, is not content meant for straight people, even though legally they, too, are allowed to hear it, and they do generally have hands. When Taylor Swift drank beers with Karlie Kloss at a Knicks game in 2014, I believed she was telling me something even more forcefully, because, really, why be at Knicks game if not just to kill time politely before fucking whoever you’re there with. When reputation was released and it contained “Dress”, a song about buying a certain item of clothing to look good for a person you love specifically not “like a best friend” so that after “all the pining and anticipation” they can remove it from your body and you can drink wine together in the bath, I believed Taylor was screaming a confession at me, and I was more than ready to receive it. When I heard from multiple sources just last year, amidst the aggressive rainbow-deluge of the Lover promo cycle, an ultimately false rumor that said Taylor was going to come out in a Rolling Stone cover story I, somehow, incredibly, brain as smooth as a baby’s ass, believed that too.
I have believed a lot of things. And it’s a nice diversion, to believe like that. But, more recently, I’ve found that the detective in me has turned away from this one. The only facts I’ll ever know about Taylor Swift are those she wishes to share, and speculating about what secrets she may or may not be hiding is a distraction from the real, joyful work of appreciating all these already literally, unequivocally, very gay songs. I’ve found, well, that I just don’t care anymore, which sucks, as I detest the squirmy idea that I might be growing as a person. But the truth is one really can write extremely, objectively homoerotic love songs yet be, for all intents and purposes, terminally straight. And like that poignant tweet about Lin Manuel Miranda tells us, you can seem gay, because of, like, your whole deal, and then it turns out you’re just annoying. You can even have a torrid love affair with your one-time supermodel best friend and in the end just want to marry some guy from The Favourite (Allegedly from The Favourite. I have seen that film three times and could not pick that man out of a lineup if my life depended on it.) and maybe there’s nothing to announce to anybody about it at all. Sexuality is complex and personal, and Taylor’s own sexuality doesn’t much matter to me, outside of how I always think it’s nice to know there’s yet another bisexual white woman out here in the world being even more irritating than me. (I say this strictly in terms of labeling; it ought to go without saying that Taylor’s various psychosexual obsessions with things like Amy from Gone Girl, and The Kennedys, and her house in Rhode Island matter to me immensely.)  It doesn’t matter because it has no bearing on the fact that she keeps dropping queer classics.
Anyway, yeah, most good Taylor Swift songs are gay, just like most good things, generally, and there’s a number of viable picks on folklore, except not “betty”, no matter what the collective banshee’s wail of the Internet tells you. The gayest thing about “betty” is that it’s Taylor putting herself in the mind of a skateboarding teenage boy, which, yes, admittedly, is a big homo vibe, but nowhere in or around this song are any people of the same gender identity smashing bathing suit parts together, or even thinking about doing so, and when there are so many better options available, I feel it is prudent that we have just the barest hint of standards. As queerness itself is malleable, wonderfully, painfully individual, and comes in no one standard format, so too is determining which song on a Taylor Swift album is the most gay a singular, complicated calculus we all must do for ourselves within our own hearts, and, of course, there are no wrong answers, unless it so happens that your answer is not “the 1”.
“the 1” made me lose my grip for a moment. A cool lament, calmly wrenching, right off it was sucking out my bone marrow and I wasn’t able to name why. (Well, except, obviously, that the twin unit of, “You know the greatest films of all time were never made,” and “You know the greatest loves of all time are over now,” is pure, not from concentrate, peak embarrassing & devastating & all the more embarrassing for being so devastating Swiftian lyricism.) Finally, weeks after the release, out walking the streets of Los Angeles midday, masked and fractious, lower back sticky, brain a little mean, buying a soda at the gas station just to talk to someone, it came to me that  “the 1” is a spiritual sequel to Red’s drum-heavy forever banger “Holy Ground”. The Taylor of “Holy Ground” reminisces frantically about a lost love, some near-miss from youth. That drumbeat is a racing heart. The animating nervousness of “Holy Ground”, the way you can almost hear the narrator’s limbs flapping wildly against her body when she says that she’s dancing, has from the beginning marked this song to me as a story of looking back on some sort of formless and magical teenaged queer encounter. “Holy Ground” is looking at a precious memory like it’s a firefly in cupped hands—small and special and easy to lose—being not entirely certain what the memory means, since whatever it was that happened back then, you never really talked it out. “Holy Ground” is about a love that for all its vitality did not work out, but it is appreciative rather than sad. “But sometimes I wonder how you think about it now,” Taylor sings, “and I see your face in every crowd.”
“But we were something, don’t you think so?” asks “the 1”, imploring an ex to confirm her version of events, to agree that she’s remembering it right. Taylor has not ever struggled in her work with place and the self and matching the two against one another on the wriggling timeline of the human life. I was there I was there I was there. The question here is something else. Not was it real, but was it real to you, and do you remember now what that was like. Do you remember who I was then? What we were? The truth as it pertains to the heart of another is guesswork at best, and a troublesome kind. Memories break and bend, or weren’t even recorded right to begin with, every brain a dirty liar, and for two separate, imperfect creatures to share the responsibility of preserving one history together is a disaster. The hard facts then are grounding. Essential. “I thought I saw you at the bus stop / I didn’t though”.  Everyone has past romances that they still ask questions about, yes—I am not practicing my virulent heterophobia today—but none of my queer friends are without at least one were-we-or-weren’t-we in their past, a clinch with another that was incandescent and unnameable, long over but dangling forever there loose outside the neat boxes of friend or lover. To be a queer person is to exist already beyond and without the organizing structures of heterosexuality, and this can be difficult, dangerous, but in liminality there is freedom, and in years of painstakingly debating whether I wanted to be or bang so many various somebodys I have, along the way, put the pieces of myself in the order they fit best. So then there are loves where you aren’t sure if that’s technically what it was, if it’s what they’d call it, too. Or loves that were undeniably real, only we were too busy back then with trying to turn into ourselves to keep it. And loves from the very start, from walking together on colt legs, exuberant and unprepared, and the memory is a blessing, and the memory is guilt.
“the 1”, to the ear, is softer and slinkier than “Holy Ground”, but the lyrics are dismantling. “Holy Ground” says, “And darling, it was good / Never looking down”. Full of longing, but cheerful and sure. “the 1” is older, resigned. On “the 1” Taylor mourns a love not only because it has ended, but because she can sense, from the safety of time’s remove, that it was a love which deserved better, could have been better, if things had been only a little different, if they’d felt brave enough to try just a little more. In this version of nostalgia, the golden haze of “Holy Ground” is ribboned by a vaporous shame, a regret. The song relates a story of a love that is farther out of reach and meant more than what the little girl of “Holy Ground” could have dreamt. “In my defense I have none / for digging up the grave another time / but it would’ve been fun / if you would’ve been the one”.

NOTES:
It's been a while. I've had these two chapters written for a while now but I haven't had time to sit down, edit them a little better and post them. Since I have time now, I thought I'd go ahead and do that, whether you guys asked for these next two chapters or not.
Sorry this took forever! Sorry I'm so slow, I've been settling into a new house and taking care of some IRL stuff / taking a little break. I swear, I'm going to update everything sooner or later. >.>
I love you guys.
WARNINGS:
NON/ LOOSE CANON COMPLIANCE - this is the biggest warning, so if you’re into things that follow exact canon plot you are… definitely not going to like this. ANGST & SLOW BURN, HEAVY SEXUAL TENSIONSTARTING NOW, ACTUALLY - this is just so everyone who started reading this thinking the smut would transpire in a hurry knows that apparently, it is not. VIOLENCE / SWEARING & FIGHTING, POSSIBLE UNDERAGE DRINKING AND OTHER SHENANIGANS- look.. it’s high school. shit happens. also apparently, my ofc Alyssa uses the word fuck like all the time?…EVENTUAL SEXUAL CONTENT / A VIRGIN ORIGINAL CHARACTER- this one is self explanatory. yes, i plan to write a smutty chapter in this at some point. when? i don’t rightly know. it’s got a while before we get there. STALKER TW - this chapter marks the true appearance of Alyssa's ex, Dave Novak. It's hinted heavily that he's a gross asshole who likes to play mind games. ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING TW - This chapter contains an attempted kidnapping. If this is gonna bother you you're best off not reading it.
If you're under 18+, probably not a good or wise idea to continue reading this series. Because there are going to be a few dark and adult themes within. I'll warn here, of course, but you need to understand that I don't control you. If you continue to read after having read the warnings and you're upset or don't like something... Totally on you, friend.

[773 - 589 - 7956] Quiet sleepy little town you’ve got here. I can see the appeal, scarlet.
[773 - 589 - 7956] I saw you last night. If I didn’t know what a treacherous bitch you were, I’d say you look more beautiful than ever.
[773 - 589 - 7956] Have you shown that new boytoy of yours all the dirty little photos you were sending me? I bet he’d fucking love to see that… Or did you actually let him see the real thing?
[773 - 589 - 7956] You can say what you want to the cops, scarlet. You and I both know you enjoyed sending me those dirty little pictures. Do your parents know what a teasing whore their daughter really is? I know mommy wasn’t too thrilled when you went running to her to snitch just because things got a little too real for you…
[773 - 589 - 7956] I’ll see you soon. It’s like I said, scarlet. You owe me. I intend to collect. You think this is a game? You can just promise things and then betray me like that? That’s not how this works, scarlet.
The second my phone was powered on again after school, it immediately started to go insane. The texts came in a flood. They were so disgusting and scary that I dropped my phone because my hands were shaking so hard I couldn’t hold it. I quickly picked up the phone and took a few deep breaths, attempting to pull myself together.
,, I can’t keep this to myself. I have to tell someone what’s going on.” the thought nagged at me for the thousandth time in two weeks and I decided that as soon as I finished my tutoring session for the day, I was going to go to the construction site and show my father the texts. Tell him that somehow, Dave was out of prison and apparently, he was here in Riverdale.
My stomach was churning and a bitter taste filled my mouth at the thought. I felt like a dead girl walking. How could I have been so fucking stupid? I should’ve told my father the first time Dave texted me. I should’ve done something.
I felt anger at the situation too. I came here to get away from everything, to put it behind me. I just wanted to forget any of it happened. How dare he show up and ruin everything? He was supposed to be in jail right now, not walking free!
It wasn’t fair.
I knew I’d never be brave enough, but I found myself thinking that if I did see him again, I wanted to strangle him. To give him a reason to be afraid of me for once instead of the other way around. To get even for the hell he put me through in Chicago.
I stepped out into the parking lot, taking a few deep breaths to calm down. Leaning against the brick wall beside the doors that lead into the building. Waiting. Trying to pull myself together. Half hoping that my brother was still here, still in wrestling practice.
Then I remembered that he didn’t have it tonight and that he’d left earlier with Veronica, Betty and Jughead.
Cheryl and Toni were already gone too. I’d stayed over because I was tutoring some kids in the grade below me. I didn’t think it’d take as long as it did. When I realized just how late it had gotten and that I’d be walking home alone in the dark, I’d panicked.
I could always call my dad.
That’s what I wound up doing. About halfway across the parking lot and just as my father’s phone went to voicemail , Dave stepped out and grabbed me, clamping his hand over my mouth before I could do anything other than scream.
My phone fell out of my hands and hit the pavement . I fought him off, managed to get out of his grasp and took off at a run. He caught up to me and grabbed me, trying to drag me towards his Chevelle that was parked nearby, idling. I fought tooth and nail, making as much noise as I could. Grabbing hold of anything I could to try and wrench myself free from his grasp.
I spotted Sweet Pea walking towards the school and I screamed louder. Fought harder.
“Sweet Pea!” I screamed his name, biting at any exposed skin I could get my mouth on Dave’s body. Clawing and scratching. Determined not to go quietly or without a fight. Sweet Pea disappeared from sight for a few seconds in the scuffle between Dave and I, and I was fighting so hard that Dave was struggling to keep a good firm grip on me…

He’d come back to school because normally, Alyssa was done and at Pop’s within thirty minutes, an hour tops. It had almost been two. Something felt off. Sweet Pea tried to tell himself the entire walk across town to Riverdale High that he was just being paranoid or overprotective. By the time the school was in view, he almost had himself convinced that he was just being a paranoid idiot.
Until he heard her screaming.
Sweet Pea took off at a run in the direction her scream came from, watching as a guy grabbed Alyssa and started trying to pull her towards an idling Chevelle nearby. He locked eyes with Alyssa before slipping out of sight. Getting himself into a position where he could slip up on the guy from behind and hopefully, distract him enough that Alyssa could get away.
The second she managed to smash her head into the guy’s nose hard enough that he dropped her, Sweet Pea spoke up. Firmly. “Run, Cherry. Don’t stop running.”
“No.” I stubbornly refused to leave. I wasn’t going to leave him to fight Dave off on his own. Not when this was my mess to begin with, my own stupidity coming back to bite me in my ass.
“Damn it, woman. Fucking go!” Sweet Pea practically growled as he lunged for the guy in front of him, spearing him against the side of his own car. The fight took to the ground, the two rolling around. For a second or two, Dave had the upper hand because he managed to get his hand on Sweet Pea’s throat. Sweet Pea used his legs, flipping them so that he was on top, swinging his fists with no real thought other than the sheer rage he felt about the guy trying to grab Alyssa. Dave managed to get the upper hand again, holding Sweet Pea against the concrete, Sweet Pea’s hand wrapped around his throat as he tried to squeeze harder.
Sweet Pea swore in frustration when he saw Alyssa slipping over to the open rear door. She emerged with a baseball bat, making her way over to the fight.
“What the fuck do you think you were gonna do, man?” Sweet Pea snarled in anger as he got in a few hard and fast punches.
“I was gonna get my hands on that little bitch you call a girlfriend and teach her a lesson.” Dave grunted out the words as Sweet Pea’s hand closed around his throat tighter and he managed to get Dave on his back again.
“The only one who’s going to learn a lesson tonight is you, asshole. Don’t fucking touch her.” Sweet Pea got the upper hand again, holding Dave against the concrete, smashing his head against Dave’s head as he sneered, “I’m gonna fuckin kill you, putting your hands on my girl.” and really tightened his grip.
Dave managed to shove him off and stood, the two of them fighting. Alyssa swung the bat at Dave’s lower back, almost connecting with it but Dave stepped out of the way at the last minute, making a grab for her.
“Cherry, I told you to run, damn it!” Sweet Pea growled as he lunged at Dave, sending Alyssa stumbling back, barely managing to keep herself from falling on her butt on the pavement. The two were rolling around on the ground again, punching and choking wildly and Alyssa spotted her cell phone and she dove for it, dialing 911.
Just as she was about to hit call, Sweet Pea choked Dave out and grabbed for the rope that had fallen out of Dave’s jacket pocket, tying his arms together while he was down. Then he rushed over to her, checking her over in concern, wincing at the pavement burn on her cheeks and the few scrapes.
“What the fuck happened to run, huh?” Sweet Pea asked, trying to catch his breath.
“I wasn’t leaving you here with him.” Alyssa panted. Sweet Pea took her cell phone and hit call, keeping his foot on Dave’s head to keep him down as he made the call.
Two minutes later, a cop car came racing around the corner and pulled to a stop behind the idling Chevelle.
The cop got out and wandered over. Glancing from Sweet Pea to Dave.
Alyssa spoke up.
“Sweet Pea was trying to save me, officer.”
“I’m going to need you two to come to the station and make statements.” the cop informed them after getting Dave into the back of the cop car. Alyssa nodded, hugging herself against Sweet Pea’s side. Sweet Pea slipped out of his leather jacket, draping it around her, because at some point during her fight with Dave, her shirt had gotten torn down the front.
The cop left, leaving the two of them alone.
Sweet Pea took a few deep breaths, pulling her against him. Squeezing her tight. Holding her in place. “Thank God I decided to come by here. If something would’ve happened…” he muttered against her hair quietly.
She pulled away to look up at him and he locked eyes with her, leaning in closer…

My heart was still hammering away at my chest. The adrenaline was starting to wear off and I was starting to panic a little as I began to realize what almost happened to me. How close I came to disappearing, having God knows what would be done to me by Dave.
I wasn’t thinking about how awkward me kissing him would be. I wasn’t thinking about anything if you want the truth. I rose up on my toes, grabbing hold of the front of Sweet Pea’s t-shirt, pulling myself up. My mouth brushed against the corner of his gingerly, trying to avoid the portion of his lower lip that was busted and bloody because it had to hurt like hell. His hands dug into my hips and he growled quietly, his mouth latching onto mine just as I went to pull away, stop myself before I went for it and kissed him in the heat of the moment.
The kiss deepened and I raised my arms, wrapping them around his neck. Dragging my fingers through his hair. My back met the side of the Chevelle with a soft smack and he pressed himself into me more firmly. His mouth continuing to hungrily devour mine.
The kiss broke a few seconds later, we pulled apart breathlessly and stared at one another in a daze. Sweet Pea wiped the back of his hand over his mouth and cleared his throat. Going quiet again.
All I could do was melt into him and try to wrap my head around what almost happened and what had just actually happened. He curled his fingers under my chin, tilting my face so that I had to look up at him.
“Who was that? Wait.. was that your ex?”
My jaw dropped. I blinked at him and then I nodded quietly. He swore under his breath and held on a little tighter. Pulling away again, his hands on my upper arms as he stared down at me. “I should’ve fucking killed him.”
“H-how’d you know about Dave? Did my brother tell you?”
“And Jughead. I don’t know everything. I just know that I told myself if I ever actually saw the asshole, I was going to kill him.” Sweet Pea answered quietly. Taking a few deep breaths and then adding a few seconds later, “We need to get to the station.”
I nodded in agreement. Sweet Pea scooped me up when he saw me take a step and wince, then try it again with the same outcome.
“I can walk.” I protested weakly.
“You fell. You probably twisted your ankle. Just… let me carry you, Cherry.” he muttered quietly, his voice a soft and concerned whisper as he gazed down at me.
All I could do was nod. Lean my head against the space between his neck and shoulder.
As we worked our way towards the police station, it poured out of me. Every single thing I’d gone through with Dave in Chicago. I grimaced as I told Sweet Pea exactly what had gone down and why I thought Dave had come to town and tried to grab me tonight and Sweet Pea’s jaw set firm.
I could tell that hearing it bothered him. And at one point, he muttered quietly, “If you don’t want to talk about it you don’t have to…”
“No, I need to get it out. I shouldn’t have kept the fact that the asshole was texting me to myself. Blocking his number obviously didn’t work because he reached out with a new one. I thought if I just ignored him, he’d lose interest. I thought it was just him, trying to scare me. I didn’t think he’d be stupid or brave enough to show up here.” I muttered, shaking my head at how stupid that sounded now that I was really stopping to think about it.
“He’s not gonna bother you again, okay? I’m going to make sure he doesn’t.” Sweet Pea muttered after a few seconds, just as we stepped into the station and made our way over to a sitting area to wait.
“You need to call your dad.” Sweet Pea spoke up after a few seconds that felt like hours.
I nodded. Taking my phone back from Sweet Pea, I dialed my dad’s number and I could hear the relief in his voice when he answered.
Static crackled and popped on his end of the line so I strained to hear.
“I’ve been riding around town looking for you for over an hour, tiny. What the hell happened?” my dad asked in a rush.
“Dave was waiting outside of the school tonight when I came out… If Sweet Pea hadn’t gotten there when he did I… he tried to grab me tonight, Dad.” I grimaced as I said it, bracing myself for all the questions and the lecture I knew I’d be getting because I hadn’t told anyone the second all this started.
,, to be fair, I definitely deserve it.” the thought came and I let myself have it. Leaning back in the chair, resting against Sweet Pea’s side slightly. Taking a few deep breaths.
My dad swore and I heard him punching at something, probably the dashboard of his truck. After a second or two, he spoke up. “Where are you two? I’m on my way, tiny. Right now.”
“We’re at the station giving a statement.” I explained.
“Thank god. So Novak got arrested? That’s good. I’m going to be sure to find out what I can do to make sure that little prick stays in a cell this time.” my dad responded as I heard him rev the engine on his truck.
The call ended and I leaned my head against Sweet Pea’s shoulder. He slipped an arm around me and took a few more breaths as if he were trying to calm himself down again because he was still angry and tense.
The cop who made the arrest found us and ushered us back to his workspace and we sat down. Telling the cop every single detail of what happened tonight. The cop let me finish and then spoke up.
“We’re holding him for Chicago. He apparently escaped. Attacked another girl… A Claire Watson… Then he came here. But everything you’ve told me will help keep him behind bars, Alyssa. Do you have a parent you can call?”
I nodded.
“She already called him.” Sweet Pea answered calmly as he folded his arms over his chest and glared at the cop suspiciously.
The cop eyed him, nodding. Managing a cordial smile. “That was quick thinking on your part tonight kid. Also stupid as hell. If he’d had a weapon, that could’ve gone wrong. Next time, call the station.”
“And do what? Let an asshole make off with my girl? Yeah, no thanks. I’m good. I’ve seen how fast you assholes respond to any call you get from the South side.”
“Not all of us are bad, kid.” the cop pointed out in a calm and even tone.
“Yeah, well… I wasn’t going to stand there and let him take my girl either. I did what I had to do.” Sweet Pea took a deep breath, rubbing his forehead. Calming himself back down.
I spotted my father and Archie coming into the station, heading right for us and I let out a ragged breath. Squeezing my dad so tight he almost couldn’t breathe when they got over to where we were sitting in the back.
My father spoke up, addressing the cop. “We will be pressing charges. So, whatever I need in order to do that, just tell me and you’ve got it.”
Sweet Pea cleared his throat.
“If it helps, here’s her phone.” Sweet Pea held my phone out to the policeman and he took it, nodding. “If there’s anything on here, that’ll help. If you’ll come with me, Mr. Andrews, we’ll get that paperwork drawn up to start the proceedings.”
My dad gave me another hug and stopped in front of Sweet Pea. “If you hadn’t been there tonight, kid… Thank you.”
“I wasn’t gonna let anything happen to her, sir.” Sweet Pea muttered, awkwardly letting my dad hug him too.
My dad made his way to an office with the policeman who’d taken our statements and I glanced up at Sweet Pea, grimacing at the bruises and scraped starting to form on his face and neck. The black eye and the busted lip.
“Archie, can you go get some ice or a soda can? His lips really swelling up..” I muttered. My brother nodded, taking some change from me to go do it. And this left Sweet Pea and I alone again.
“About that kiss.. I’m sorry, I.. the last thing I wanted to do was make anything awkward. I just got caught up in the moment and I can’t keep fighting the way I feel and I… Sorry.” I spoke up quietly. Prepared to give him an out. Afraid that I’d gone way over the line.
“Yeah, about that… I’ve been wanting to do it for a while.” Sweet Pea admitted quietly. Making me look up at him as he chuckled quietly. “You wanna repeat any of what you just said?”
I felt my cheeks burning. I pouted up at him and gave him a dirty look.
He smirked in response and spoke up. “I’m being serious. You were doing that mumble and babbling thing again.”
“You heard me.” I answered, biting my lip as I looked up at him.
“A little, yeah… But maybe I wanna hear it again, cherry.” he pulled me close and gazed down at me for a few seconds.
“Wait.. you wanted to kiss me?” I realized what he’d admitted. Gazing up at him, a little shocked.
“You’re trying to change the subject now?” he questioned, slipping his arms around me. I gave a soft laugh and muttered quietly, “Maybe a little.”
“When you say you can’t ignore the way you feel.. What’s that mean?” he questioned again, making me look up at him. I took a deep breath and toyed with the front of his shirt, trying to figure out the best way to put it to words.
The truth. Simple and direct.
“I care about you a lot. I lo--” I started to say that I loved him, but Archie cleared his throat behind us, holding out the soda can to me. Then promptly excusing himself again to go find our dad. I gently guided Sweet Pea down into a chair and sank down to sit on his knees. Gingerly pressing the cold soda can against his lip. And after a second or two, I finally got myself to say it again. “I love you, okay?”
He chuckled quietly. Locking eyes with me. Lowering the soda can to ask quietly, “Like a best friend or something.. Right?”
I shook my head. “More than, actually. Since that day at the car wash when I drenched you with the hose, I’ve… It’s been hard to make myself not look for you in a crowd. Yes, yes.. I know this is mushy and you don’t do mushy, I..” his mouth crashing against mine cut off the flow of my words and he muttered in a daze, “Say it again. Tell me you love me, Cherry.”
“I love you.” I managed to get the words out breathlessly. His mouth was latching onto mine all over again. The kiss deepening. His arms enveloping me tighter. Squeezing til I thought I’d get lightheaded between the deep and heavy onslaught of kisses and the way he was holding me.
“I love you too.” he mumbled quietly. Gazing down at me. Panting for his next breath as the kiss broke yet again.
“Okay, are you two done with whatever yet? Because dad told me to get Al back home. You can come with us if you want.” Archie surprised me by inviting Sweet Pea. Sweet Pea eyed him and nodded, standing after I’d finally managed to pry myself away from him.
As we walked out of the station, he slipped his hand down between us, lacing his fingers between mine. Giving my hand a squeeze as he glanced down at me.
