as true as the jokes about “everyone wants to rewrite ninjago” are i feel like smthn people forget when complaining about the inconsistencies of the show is that…. it wasn’t planned? it’s not like most other animated shows lately - it didn’t start with a deeply fleshed out world or a meticulously designed pitch bible with grandiose plans for a long-term story or character arcs. the ninja don’t originally get their powers from heredity because they weren’t hereditary powers yet. the magic system doesn’t make sense bc they literally just made it up as they went! they go back and forth on stuff like whether non-elementals can learn spinjitzu bc it’s a collaborative piece of media made by people with vastly different levels of control over the story, the animation, the sets, etc. that varied over the course of the series. it’s totally understandable and exciting to see so many people reworking the early stuff with the lore and logic later seasons introduced but i personally feel that… if you’re doing that. you need to understand why the show is like that instead of writing it off as being bad and shitty. it was working with what it had. it’s only what it is now because of that awkward troubleshooting phase, not in spite of it

Spoilers for Dune 2 so not read this if you haven't seen it...❗

I think this new Feyd Rautha was interesting I just wish he'd been more on screen or something cause how can you just leave us hanging with the facts that (spoilers) he killed his mom in an unspecified way, he has sadist/cannibal (?) girlfriends, he has a humiliation kink (?). This shit barely served in the end like or talk about them a little bit more why won't you show me the things more why can't they matter in the plot in some darkly poetic way ?

For now I've kind of figured that the mother thing echoes & contrasts with Paul's way more fusional & loving relationship with his mom, which nevertheless gets full of tension as time goes on & prophecies traps their asses. The Gom Jabbar repeat did put me on the edge of my seat & is the clearest parallel between the two from the get go. But his test isn't actually shown, though we can suppose he succeeded since he lived ? (Or was it a dream, an illusion ??).

I do love his girlfriend murder squad thought that's some real shit...it's weird shit like the two kids taking care of the baron in the first movie.

Have you ever seen the owl house? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

I have watched Owl House and I plan to make a review, but I need to rewatch it at least one more time to gather my thoughts

The Owl House is insanely popular, but I was really disappointed with it, especially season 1. And people are not gonna take kindly to that opinion, so I will probably get a lot of angry comments for it so I've just kinda avoided talking about it. Luz and the show act like Eda is a super powerful witch who is Luz's personal teacher who is gonna show her all the secrets of the witchworld, when that couldn't be further from the truth. Eda is like a parent who tells you you're going on a hike with no supplies, she drops you off in the middle of the woods by yourself and gives you like, a stick, and tells you "good luck!" and runs away. Eda is just the weird lady who lets Luz crash at her house.

It's misadvertised, it has tone issues, it has confusing and straight-up unexplained lore issues... and it fell victim to the SU curse of not knowing what they are doing in season 1, just kinda screwing around introducing random concepts Then they finally get their footing in season 2 or 3 only to get cancelled for being gay. Which sucks, like REALLY REALLY SUCKS, because it's the Network producer's homophobic fault for it being rushed, but its also the fault of the creator of the initial debut for the misuse of screen time on characters or plot that has no stake in the rest of the series.

Most of season 1 is just the formula of "our main characters going to school, screwing up and having to fix their mistake for each episode." And then season 2 is like "Oh right, we're a series with an overarching plot, I forgot- whoops! We're out of time, sorry :/ "

She goes by Cadet because the word is sewn on the inside of her suit. The rings aren't always around her astropuffs afropuffs, they just pop up to protect her from the uninhabitability of space. She meets a bear up there who was rocketed up Laika-style with her bear family and they pop around the universe looking for her cubs.
