Accessibility can be easier than you think! Please take the time to read this!
I don't think people realize how easy it can be to find an image description in the notes. I'm not gonna lie to you and say it's always super fast and painless, but it can be. Especially on posts with a lot of notes, simple images (like text screenshots), and/or only a few images. It usually takes me less than 10 seconds to scroll through the notes of a post to check if it has an ID.
Just click on notes and sort by comments only. With just a quick scroll through looking for comments that start with things like "[ID:" or "Image Description:", you can check if it has a description or not. You will get better at spotting these quickly over time and it will get easier and faster! Once you've found one, just hit reblog from there. If there are mistakes or something, you can copy paste the ID with any necessary corrections into your own reblog instead with no credit necessary. Credit is not needed for image descriptions, because they are an accessibility measure.
Please check the notes for IDs, even (especially!!) if you don't take the time to write image descriptions normally. It's such a small, fast thing you can do when reblogging something to make your blog more accessible. Please, take the time. It takes less than a minute.
[Plain text: please check the notes for IDs. End PT]

a comic commission for @simplyender where i once again decided to go completely over the top with colours
based on this post commissions info
[Image description] A digital comic showing an interaction between Miguel O'Hara and the Abyssal form of The Spot from Across the spider verse. The first pannel shows Miguel glaring upwards with his arm held out in the web shooting position. There is a white text bubble that reads 'Tell me the name of god you anomalous piece of shit.' The next pannel takes up the majority of the page and shows the spot reaching out with an inviting hand - enormous in size compared to miguel, who is crouching on a piece of rubble in the lower left corner. The background is a swirling patttern of red and blue spots and stipes with 4 black voids following the flow of the background that make up the spot's text bubbles. Theses read 'Can you feel your heart burning? Can you feel the struggle within? The fear within me is beyond anything your soul can make. You cannot kill me in a way that matters.' The final pannel at the bottom has Miguel pointing upwards with a shakey hand and shouting 'I'M NOT FUCKING SCARED OF YOU!!' Despite this statement, he is crying.

I've met him in person btw and he's a fucking sweetheart
Tumblr media
[ID: Text-intensive Twitter thread from the Shapeshifters chest binders Twitter account in reply to a post by artist and author Ursula Vernon. Vernon says, A non-zero number of you apparently did not know that The Last Unicorn was a book before it was a movie. It is by Peter S. Beagle. It is made of spun glass and fairytales and iron knives and there are individual lines that I would give my lungs to have written. Shapechangers replies, I saw him every year at NYCC for several years straight, bought something at his table, asked him to sign it, and we spoke. He remembered me from year to year, no small feat at that con. He remembered which stories he'd told me. One year I came back with a different gender on. He squinted at me a bit and said thoughtfully, "I've seen you before in this place." All I had to say was, "last year you told me the story about the inoshishi." And his face cleared, and he leaned in with a grin and told me about a German guitarist who he traveled with, twice. Who transitioned between the first and second time, so he'd gotten to meet this person all over again on the second round. It was a wonderfully kind way to let me know that everything was fine. I was fresh out of the closet and I needed that, and maybe he could see it. The Last Unicorn is the best book in the world and I will defend it and its author til I die. the end. /end ID]
I don't usually talk about celebrities; artists, when I do, and I'm keenly aware that one needn't be a good person to be a hell of a heartwrenching artist. But Peter S. Beagle has written a few of my favorite things in the world, he's an excellent singer and filker, and this Twitter thread was dreadfully important to me. I don't want it going away as Twitter becomes Shitter, because it's so often bad news, isn't it? It's important to me to share trans joy.
