Okay we see how Bruce, Dick, Jason, Tim and Cass become Yanderes for reader what about Damian, Steph and Babs?
That question is exactly why I'm kind of debating on making a kinda "Part 2.5" sort of thing, and it would show how Tim and Damian got further roped into things like Bruce, Dick, Jason and Cass. Along with how Steph and Babs take the news of "heyyy, um. you know Y/n? yeah that one sibling of ours that's lived here for years that we've barely have like, 10 conversations with collectively? Yeah, that sibling. Uh, we just figured out they've basically been living an entire life without any of us knowing, and might've run away because we were barely involved in their life despite them making multiple attempts to have us be there. So, we kind of need your help to find them. Like. Now-"
Though honestly I'll just put the run down here, so-
Bruce kind of gave Damian the little push he needed before hopping on the train, kind of like what he did with Jason but a little different. With him finding Damian, and some questions being thrown around, before Damian just decides to help look for you.
Honestly I can imagine that Damian wasn't super serious about finding you or anything at first, and was more so just trying to help because Bruce and Dick were looking for you. Hence why he looks for Alfred first with the intention to get the search done and over with. Though, that does begin to change a little when he eventually stumbles upon your room and gets that small glimpse of all he's missed out on after having talked with Alfred.
The room itself doesn't necessarily get to Damian — not like it does with Bruce and Dick — but it's more of the contents of the room itself that get him started on the yandere path.
Honestly, how Damian and Tim begin to develop their more Yandere thoughts and feelings for the reader is through finding something in your room, leading them to find more stuff, and that eventually getting to the thought process of "i didn't know they did this... i would've liked to know about this before/share this thing with them." Which then leads to a more yandere-like mindset.
For Damian (since we're already on the topic of him), he finds that one art award that you got, and becomes curious. Eventually he finds the unfinished art pieces that Bruce had found earlier, and while he isn't impressed or anything at first, the more unfinished pieces he finds the more he kind of begins to see your potential, and that leads to his own thoughts on the matter. With him wishing he knew about how you liked to do art too, and that eventually leads to him thinking that he could've helped you refine your skill, and the both of you could've drawn or painted together.
What strengthens that mindset is when he gets his hands on a notebook that you had used to practice whatever you were struggling with, and left notes for yourself on how you could improve upon certain things as well. Maybe if Damian had known you were into art before, he could've helped you, and you both could've improved together. Refine each other's skills, and just be able to create together. Which Damian really begins to like the thought of. Especially as he sees how you improved the deeper into the notebook he gets.
So, he also sets out to find you, but with a more positive mindset and thought process.
Honestly, out of everyone, Damian is the least worried about you and your well-being. Not because he necessarily has faith in your abilities to stay alive in Gotham, while also potentially being by yourself, but rather he isn't focused on that part? Not as intensely as some of the others, anyway.
Besides, if you were to turn up dead, then he'd have the "you die, I kill you" mindset. You aren't allowed to be dead or 'missing' in his mind, and so you aren't until proven other wise — but even then he's going to need a lot of solid proof to even believe it.
Damian is just more focused on the "we have a common interest and I want to do this thing with them" part of learning that you're into art. Even if you aren't anymore, just knowing that it was something that you used to do is enough to get him jumping on the yandere train. You'll be doing art with him one way or another, and you can't do shit about it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sure his reasoning isn't a strong, but it's enough to get him started and to go looking for you with the others when they eventually start tearing Gotham apart in hopes to find you. Damian now has a sudden need for quality time and your his main target, sorry not sorry.
Tim on the other hand just sort of, stumbled upon your room, and thanks to Dick was very quickly roped into this mess (as mentioned in "Not Here").
He actually looks through the box with all of your more personal belongs first as Dick tries to call and text you like crazy, while also trying to figure out more stuff.
The first thing he minds is an mp3 player, which, again - as mentioned in "Not Here" held very early versions of songs you were working on at the time, along with some of the very first songs you ever wrote. Which, after listening to a few of them, is immediately a big fan. Though that ends up being both his downfall and how he begins to develop his more yandere tendencies.
Like Dick, you had tried to call and message him about certain performances and such you thought he'd like, and hoped he'd attend, but to no avail. It sucks even more for Tim now because if he had just given your music a chance just a little sooner, maybe things would've been different between the two of you. Maybe you wouldn't have left.
Not to mention that, since he now really loves your music - just knowing that he's wasted so many opportunities to hear more of it, and the completed, fully fleshed out versions of some the songs on the mp3 player makes him upset. He really feels the hit of neglecting you, and that hit only lands harder when he goes through that 'List/Progress' notebook that Bruce had seen earlier in "Not Here".
A notebook which does reveal a lot about you, and how you only did so many activities because you hoped that if anyone in the family was into one of the activities/hobbies you tried, then you'd be able to bond with them over it. Though look at where that got you. Countless awards hung on your walls, with a number of accomplishments to your name - and yet not once were you able to use them for their original purpose. Not once were you able to hold a full, long conversation with any of them about any of the things you've done.
It wasn't even your fault because you tried to put in the work, Tim could really see that now, but you just weren't given the chance to actually put it to good use.
Maybe that's why he ended up helping Dick as much as he did, and maybe that's why he took the time to download some of your songs before heading out to look for you. He wanted to feel closer to you then he really was, and wanted your music to be something shared between the two of you.
Tim wants to not only get closer to you, but to hear everything you've ever made music wise. A want which he fully intends on making a reality.
Stephenie and Barbara are a bit different, however. Since, as stated in "Not Here", both of them are informed of what's going on after everyone else but Damian and Alfred absolutely loses their minds over you not being in the Manor. Though, again, both take the news a bit differently.
Between the two, Steph easily feels the worst. So her motivations and actions — like Bruce, Dick, Jason, Cass, and Tim — are more out of guilt and regret. She already doesn't like the thought of her own neglect having caused you to keep so many things to yourself that you basically hid yourself away, but the idea of her — along with everyone else — having pushed you so far away that you ran away? That... doesn't make her feel good, to say the least.
Sure, she doesn't feel as bad as Bruce or Dick - who easily feel the worst because of their respective roles in the family, and them feeling like they failed to even be a semi-present figure in your life for you to recognize them as your Father and Older Brother (to which they are correct, but aren't aware of that yet) - but it's still enough for her to try and look for you too.
Kind of like Bruce when he was looking in the Manor, Stephanie doesn't know where to start looking, and that only worsens her regret.
I guess her development comes more with time? Since the more she and the others look, not only do her feelings grow, but she also learns more about you as everyone starts sharing information over the intercoms. Things they just found out about you — like how you spent your birthdays alone with Alfred and had waited for them each year until recently, how you made music, what kind of competitions and such you've participated in, who were your teachers, how majority of what you did wasn't even for yourself - but rather a chance that one of the many activities you did try out was something anyone of them were into, so that way you could actually have a conversation with them - and more. (Which may be shown later? Not in a official post/part to the series but perhaps in a sort of side thing that shows the mayhem going on. But who knows?)
Case and point, while they are all looking for you - Steph slowly becomes more yandere for the reader the more she learns about you and how her and the other's actions impacted you. Like some of the others, she wants to make it up to you, but isn't entirely sure how she'd even go about doing that. The more aware she becomes, the harder she falls.
Barbara on the other hand, I'd say, is more lowkey as of now when it comes to her development as a yandere?
I mean, Dick, while very much panicking, basically told her it was an emergency and he really needed her on the bat computer because he had to look for you. Which, in the same breath, gave a list of locations and possible teachers you might've had in the past (you can thank Tim for trying to figure all of that out) and if she could look into it.
It's safe to say that Barbara's introduction into the whole situation was very chaotic. An emotional, worried, and panicked Dick is never a good one, so that was fun to deal with while slowly drowning in confusion.
Eventually, she got the run down and was quick to help, but like Bruce, Cass, Damian, and Jason - she was more confused at the start.
Ouf of everyone, and maybe besides Jason, Barbara has had the least amount of interaction with you - and the room for possible interactions with you for her were much smaller anyway considering that you aren't a vigilante, and never intended to be. So, it only makes sense that one of the people you've easily had the least connection with, was the person who communicated and mainly interacted with the rest of the Batfam when they're doing vigilante work.
What didn't help is that she barely even saw you at events or even holiday gatherings and such the family would have, with you being so neglected that they just... failed to even notice you missing at the time. The day she was introduced to you was when you were first adopted, and that was basically both the first and last full interaction either of you have had with each other. Other than that, she would hear small comments about you sometimes from the others, but even then it wasn't much and those soon died out as one could've guessed.
Even when she was in the Manor, she might've caught a few glimpses of you, but nothing else - so the beginning of her fall into being a yandere is definitely much slowly and lowkey when compared to the others.
I feel as if this whole situation may encourage Babs to want to get to know you better? After all, your disappearance did cause the whole family to basically start a whole manhunt just to find you, so I feel as if that would be enough to get Barbara interested at the very least. Not to mention all of the things she's hearing about you from everyone - it would be nice to try and actually meet you, not just know about you.
In other words, I feel as if Barbara may develop more as a yandere in part 3, seeing as I can see her more yandere tendencies begin to develop once she actually 'meets' you. Y'know what I mean?
So tldr; Damian becomes a yandere for the reader by finding out they're into art/have done art in the past, and now has a deep need to bond with them.
Steph becomes a yandere through her guilt and regret, and like some of the others, want to make it up to the reader.
Babs, on the other hand, hasn't exactly become a yandere just yet, but will once she 'meets' the reader and see them for herself. As of right now, she's just curious, but we'll get there in part 3.
Also, this is unrelated to the ask, but I would like to point out how pretty much everyone in the Batfam thinks you ran away rather then you just leaving. Do what you will with this information for now :]
Anyways, I hoped that answered your question, even if I got a bit rambly! If there's anything else in particular anyone else would like to know, feel free to send in an ask!

Love Me For Me Cassian x Female Reader
Warnings: Language, Angst, Minor Injury
You had been avoiding Cassian ever since the mating bond snapped a few weeks ago. It was clear that it had only snapped for you, though. You had tried to avoid him by volunteering for extra missions and training with Azriel instead. You were training on the balance beam Azriel had helped you build, wanting to improve your balance during combat. Azriel stood watching and offering corrections while you practiced jumping and lunging strikes. You were feeling more confident in your body and had noticed a difference overall since you started using the beam. You seemed more agile, and your strength seemed to improve.
As you were practicing a jump, Cassian came storming over, "What do you think you're doing?!" He shouted, distracting you and causing you to twist your ankle as you tried to land. The twisting of your ankle threw off your balance and sent you crashing to the ground. Azriel and Cassian were quick to get to your side. "Are you okay y/n?" Azriel asks as Cassian calls for Rhys to get Madja and bring her to the house of wind. Your eyes looked dazed as you tried to focus on Azriel. "I-I'm ok, just sore." You say trying to get up but feeling dizzy. "Stay there, Madja will be here soon." Cassian says. You ignore him, "I'm fine. You're making a big deal about nothing."
In a matter of moments, Rhys and Madja arrive. Madja instantly starts to examine you as she asks what happened. "She hurt her ankle and fell off the balance beam." Cassian says. "Tell her why she fell off the balance beam." Azriel says, annoyed. "You do realize I can speak for myself, right?" You say annoyed at both of them. "Y/n, tell us what happened, please." Rhys says, trying to ease the tension. "I was training on the balance beam when Cassian came out of nowhere and yelled, "What do you think you're doing?! Which caused me to become distracted, and I twisted my ankle, causing me to fall." You answer.
"Well, your ankle is more than twisted. I'm afraid it's broken." Madja says. "Great, so now I'm out a couple of days, thanks, Cassian!" You say angrily. "Well, if you hadn't been avoiding me, this wouldn't have happened!" Cassian says. "Or you could've not yelled at me. That's an option." You say. "Both of you stop!" Rhys says, getting tired of your bickering. Madja sets your ankle and tells you to take it easy for a couple of days to let it fully heal. "Come on, I'll help you inside." Azriel says. "No, I will. We still have things to discuss." Cassian says as he picks you up. "I don't need to be carried." You grumble, secretly loving being in his arms. "Shut up and let me take care of you." He says arrogantly.
He easily carries you into the house and to your room. He gently lays you on the bed before grabbing some pillows and elevating your ankle. He makes sure you're comfortable before he pulls up a chair and sits beside your bed, "Now will you tell me why you're avoiding me?" You fidget with your nails, "I'm not avoiding you, I've been busy." You say. "Come on, you and I both know you're avoiding me, and I want to know what I did to make you." He says. "Nothing, Cass," you say as you lay back and stare at the ceiling. His fingers gently draw your gaze to him, "Clearly I did something because you'll barely look at me." "Cass, please." You say barely above a whisper.
"Was I that mean to you and didn't even realize it?" He says, sounding hurt. "I can't, Cassian. I can't handle the thought of you only being with me because something says you should. I can't handle not being good enough for you to love me on my own. I can't handle knowing you'll never look at me the way you look at Nesta. Everything you say and do will be tainted, and I can't handle it." You admit as tears pool in your eyes. "You're my mate?" He says, realizing what you're saying. "Please leave," you say as you turn away from him, "I want to be alone."
Cassian sits in shock as he feels the bond snap, tying him to you. He reluctantly gets up and leaves your room. You silently cry as you lay facing the wall. To most finding your mate was everything, but to you, it was a curse. You hated the idea of fate deciding who you should be with. You had nothing against Cassian. You did love him. You'd grown to love him over the years. To watch him pining over Nesta had brought you back to reality. You realized he would never be yours, and you accepted it. Seems like fate had other plans, though. You didn't want his love because the bond compelled him to love you. You wanted him to love you on his own free will. Eventually, you cried yourself to sleep.
The next day, you refused to see anyone. The house is keeping your door firmly locked for you. Occasionally, a fresh glass of water and some fruit or yogurt would appear on your nightstand. You always made sure to thank the house. Later that day, you decided to attempt a shower. You managed to make your way into the shower. You were glad to scrub the grime from training the day before away. Once you were ready to get out, you slipped and fell. You tried to get up, but your injured ankle hurt too badly. You sat crumpled on the floor as you called out for Azriel.
You waited a few moments in silence before trying again. Your bedroom door unlocked as footsteps approached. A knock came at the bathroom door, "are you alright?" Cassian asked. You let out a groan, "Where's Azriel?" Cassian rolls his eyes, "He's in Illyria with Rhys, Feyre is taking care of Nyx, and Mor is still visiting the summer court with Amren. You're stuck with me, princess." He says. "Fine, come in." You answer. A moment later, the door opens. "I fell." You state obviously. He grabs a towel for you to cover up with, "I can see that. Why were you in the shower?" You roll your eyes, "the acoustics are so great in here I thought I'd sing naked karaoke." You answer sarcastically.
"Ok, smartass, I get it." He says before bending down to pick you up. He sits you on the vanity, "Where are your clothes?" "I was going to change in my room." You answer. "Stay here and dry off, I'll grab your clothes." He says. You work on drying off before he comes back with shorts and an oversized shirt. He bunches up the shirt and slips it over your head before grabbing the shorts and working them up your legs. "Can you lift up so I can get these on you?" He asks as he reaches your thighs. You lift up the best you can as he slides your shorts up. "Now back to bed." He says sternly before carrying you back.
After making sure you're comfortable, he turns to leave. "Hey, Cass," you say, stopping him in his tracks, "thank you." You say sheepishly. "No problem, princess." He says with a certain sadness before leaving you alone. You lay there staring at the ceiling, day turns into night and brings a soft knock to your door. "Come in." You call. The door slowly opens, revealing Rhys. You're a little sad it isn't Cassian but quickly hide it. "Heard you fell, are you alright?" He asks as he enters. "I'm fine, just being clumsy." You say with an empty laugh. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asks as he sits on the edge of your bed.
"Do I have a choice?" You ask. "Well, you can participate in the conversation, or you can listen to me monologue...and you know how much I love to monologue." He says with a grin, making you roll your eyes. "You should really give Cass a chance." You let out an annoyed sigh, "Rhys, I want someone to love me for me and not because some stupid bond tells them to." You say. "I understand and respect that, I think you'll find that given the chance, Cass does love you for you. You're both too stubborn to realize it."How can I be certain now that the bond is in place?" You ask.
"Give him a chance to show that he's loved you all along, let go of your worries and just listen and observe." Rhys says. "If I do this and it doesn't work out, you'll leave me alone about it?" You ask. "As long as you give him an honest chance." He says. "Fine." You reluctantly agree. "But I decide when, I don't want to be trapped in this bed." You say. "Fair enough." He says with a smirk as you roll your eyes. He excuses himself, leaving you to rest. A few days pass with various people checking in on you, including Cassian.
Cassian knocks on your door before entering with Madja. "Please give me good news." You beg the healer as she checks your ankle. "You're good to resume your normal life. Just ease back into training and don't overdo it." She tells you with a smile. "Thank the mother!" You say excitedly as yku move to stand and walk around. "How does it feel?" Madja asks. "Good as new." You say. "Just don't go overboard." She says before excusing herself. You turn your attention to Cassian, "ice cream?" You ask with a grin. "Yeah, what flavor do you want?" He asks. "No, Cassian. Do you want to go with me and get ice cream?" You ask. "Are you asking me out?" He teases. "Don't make me regret this." You say.
You were happy to sit outside with Cassian eating ice cream. It was a mich needed change of scenery. He managed to keep the conversation light as you two enjoyed the ice cream. After you finished, he asked if you felt up for a walk. You accepted as he led you to a nearby park. "How have you been?" You ask after a few moments of silence. "Alright, better now that you're ok." He says quietly. "Cass, be honest." You say nudging him. "You don't want the honest answer." He says, staring off ahead of you.
"I always want the honest answer, and if you want me to accept being your mate, you won't lie to me." You say. "Like you lied to me for weeks about being mates and avoiding me?" He says with a raised brow. "I didn't lie. I just didn't tell you." You answer. "Same thing." He says. "I'm not alright. These last few days have been miserable. I wanted nothing more than to take care of you, but you didn't want me to." He says as you keep walking. "Cassian, I want you to love me for me and not because the bond tells you to." You say trying to explain your reasoning. "I do love you for you, I have for years, but I didn't think you'd ever love me." He says.
"That was why I started pursuing Nesta." He states. "All the times I took care of you over the years when you were sick or injured, the gifts you always said were perfect for Solstice. Everything kind I've done over the years was out of love for you. The bond hasn't made me love you. it's only amplified the feeling." He declares. "Cassian, I had no idea, I don't know what to say." You tell him. "Let's get you home. You've had enough for one day." He says using your ankle as an excuse. You let him take you home where you go back to your room. You stayed there the rest of the night, thinking about what Cassian said and reflecting over the last few years.
You remember all the little things he's done for you. How he always was the first one to offer you any sort of comfort. How he always took care of you when you were injured, no matter how small. He was always your person, but you only looked at it as him being a good friend. You noticed the subtle flush of his cheeks when you complimented him. The way his eyes would linger when you trained on hot days wearing shorts and tank tops. He was always the first one to notice when you were struggling mentally. It was always him, and you'd been blind until now.
The next morning, you decided you needed to tell Cassian how you felt. You made your way to his room and knocked. There was no answer, so you pushed the door open, revealing an empty room. You ran outside to check the training area. Cassian wasn't around to be found. His end of the bond was dark, shielded from you. You mentally reached out to Rhys asking where Cassian was. He told you he had left for a mission and would be gone for a few days. You thanked him for telling you before you put your shields back up. You made your way back into the house, but instead of going to your room, you make your way to his.
You grab one of his shirts from the closet and change into it before climbing in his bed. Losing yourself in the scent of him that lingers on his blankets. You stay there until you fall asleep. You continue to stay in Cassian's room and wear his shirts until he comes home. You checked the bond each day, but he never opened his end. You left your end open in case he changed his mind or needed you. For the few days he was gone, it was silent and dark.
You were curled up in his bed sleeping when he opened the door and stepped in. He was startled to find you in his room, let alone in his bed. He had gone to Illyria to get away for a few days and check on the camps. He stripped down to his boxer briefs and climbed into bed beside you, causing you to stir. "It's just me. Go back to sleep." He says softly. You settle back in, and he smiles at how cute you look. He wonders how long you've been in his room until he notices his blankets smell more like you than him. As he starts to drift off, you turn over and lay your head on his chest. He carefully wraps his arm around you, pulling you closer, "Sweet dreams, princess." He says gently.
You wake up with a start feeling a hard body against you. You look over and see Cassian still sleeping. You start looking him over for any injuries and find none. You can't help but notice how peaceful he looks while he sleeps. "I can feel you staring," he says sleepily, "go back to bed, it's too early." You can't help but smile, "Fine, i'll just ask Azriel to train with me since my mate is too tired." You tease. Cassian opens his eyes, "did you just say what I think you said?" You nod, "unless you're rejecting -" He cuts you off by pressing his lips against yours in a searing kiss, Breaking it moments later, "I would never reject you."

ETA: now on ao3 as Hawkins Halfway House for Homeless Horrors
ETA2: now with an additional snippet
okay, how's this for an AU
We know that Steve wants to be a dad. Like, his literal life dream is to have a minimum of six children. SIX. who wants that?? crazy people, that's who. but we forgive him his insanity because he's sweet and will actually probably be a really good dad and there's not enough of those in the world.
the downer is that it's the late 90s, he's a (still) single guy in his thirties, and every adoption agency on the planet would rather give their children to a heteronormative couple who don't even want kids than to a single dude who would dedicate his heart and soul to giving his kids a happy healthy home.
He's bemoaning his fate to Robin at a bar they recently discovered. It's a weird little joint, kinda tucked away on the outskirts where Steve could've sworn didn't exist just last week. The patrons were kinda weird too but neither he or Robin could put their finger on why or how. If Steve had been a little less miserable, and Robin a little less caught up in comforting him, they might've noticed how everyone else in the bar kept sneaking curious glances at them or how they somehow always kept most of their features hidden.
They didn't though. Even when they were interrupted by a handsome black gentleman who called himself Jeff. Jeff said that he couldn't help but overhear their dilemma and that he's actually part of an agency that is more open minded about potential foster or adoptive parents. Steve's a little deeper in his cups than he intended, and doesn't question that some random guy in a bar is offering him a chance of having children. Robin is not as far in her cups and finds it a bit suspicious.
She was going to say something about it but Jeff looked her in the eye and said, "Everything is fine. There's no reason to worry. I'm only trying to help."
"You're only trying to help," Robin murmured back blearily. "Everything is fine. Yeah. Yeah, 'm not worried."
Jeff gives Steve his card and tells him he can stop by the very next day if he'd like, since his schedule is open.
The next day, Steve is regretting having gotten so drunk. Not really because of the hangover (though holy shit, he is NOT twenty anymore he needs to stop drinking like one). No. It's because Jeff had just finished giving him a tour of the facility full of rambunctious children in need of a home.
Actually, that had been pretty okay even if the other adults in the facility startled at the sight of him and the children kept ducking into other rooms to hide from him.
No. It's because Jeff had just introduced him to a child named Dustin who sneezed unexpectedly and somehow turned into a kitten.
"Um," Steve said. Jeff sighed.
"Dustin hasn't gotten back control over his shapeshifting since his mother's passing, but I assure you he's been improving."
"...shapeshifting," Steve said, numbly.
"Yes. Dustin tends to go for cat shapes, like his mother did." Jeff bends down to pick up the loudly mewing tabby kitten. "We've managed to get him to shift mostly into a domestic shorthair, rather than a cougar cub."
"That's great," Steve squeaked as he tried to tamp down the growing hysteria in him. "Really, really great. Y'know what, Jeff, this whole thing's been great but I think I'm still kind of drunk so I'm just gonna go--"
"No, wait," Jeff says, quickly placing the Dustin kitten on his shoulder before reaching out to grab Steve by the elbow. "Please. Look, you seem like a good guy. I did a quick scan of you and everything, and I really think if you'd take a moment to sit down and--"
"JEFFORD BILLANY JONES."
Jeff's shoulders hunched, nearly dislodging Dustin from his shoulder. He sighed again and turned to face the man storming towards him and Steve.
"Eddy, you know none of that is my name."
"I'll call you whatever I want since for some unfathomable reason, you've brought a human into my sanctuary. Why is there a human in my home, Jeffamy."
"Eddy, let me explain."
"It's Eddie in front of the human," Eddie said.
Steve's brain was experiencing some sort of malfunction because Jeff had been calling this man Eddie, except if he concentrated, the way Jeff said Eddie and the way Eddie had said Eddie sounded very very different except it hadn't because they both sounded like Eddie except for how Jeff's Eddie sounded different from, the same as, different, just like--
A pair of ringed fingers snapped aggressively in front of his face, startling Steve from an impending aneurysm.
"You. Who are you, who sent you, what do you want."
Steve stuttered something incoherent. He's pretty sure he's had a mental break from reality. There was some sort of sentient black sludge creeping across the tiled floor, wrapping a tendril around Jeff's leg.
"What is that?" Steve squawked. Jeff beamed at him.
"Oh, this is El! She's a Monster Under the Bed. She hasn't decided on a form yet, but that's okay, we love her just as she is."
"Jeff," Eddie snapped. Jeff looked at Eddie stubbornly.
"You told me we needed all hands on deck."
"How dare you, I'd never stoop to using boat metaphors."
"Don't distract me with blatant lies. Eddy, you said we needed help. You said you'd take anyone at this point."
Steve has not been able to stop staring at the sludge creature (El?). He's beginning to realize that he can't quite remember what Jeff looked like, or any of the adults they had seen. He's noticing that some of the children that have been scampering about had looked off. Like the boy with the bowl-cut they had passed by earlier who had looked...frosty around the edges. Or the girl he thought had had red feathers in her hair but is now suspecting the feathers were something more than decorative.
Ringed fingers snap in front of his face again. Steve finally focused on the man named Eddie who was actually named Eddie which was different from Eddie somehow. Now that he's able to shove away the confusion that is this man's name, he's struck by the fact that Eddie was quite possibly the most gorgeous man Steve's ever seen. He had wide, dark eyes that made Steve think of seabeds in the deepest of waters. His hair was a riot of dark brown curls that for some reason brought to mind swirling schools of fish.
"Answer my questions," Eddie demanded. Steve blinked and, with some difficulty, remembered the previous interrogation.
"Uh, I'm Steve. Jeff invited me because I want to be a dad."
Eddie barked out a laugh.
"Oh, is that right? In that case, welcome to Hawkins' Halfway House for Homeless Horrors! I'm sure Jeff would love to finish introducing you to the rest of our children. Have you met Mike? He's a ghoul! Or Lucas! He's a werewolf and his dream is to become a basketball star. They both have very sharp teeth so watch out for their tantrums."
Jeff scowls at Eddie before turning back to Steve. Steve was starting to feel faint and he was no longer sure if he regretted drinking the night before or regretted not drinking more.
"Steve, it's okay. Eddy is making it sound scarier than it actually is. You said you wanted to be a dad, and we need foster parents that can help these kids learn how to blend in with humans. That's what the halfway house is for, but there's only so much they can learn while living in sanctuary. We need a way to have them experience the human world more directly while still keeping them safe, and I think you're the solution we've been looking for. What do you think?"
"I think I need to sit down," Steve said thinly. Eddie snorted derisively. Steve was slightly offended but honestly everything was a bit too much right now and he really would like to sit down for a moment just to process. Because monsters are real, apparently, and some of them need parents. Which was terrifying to think about but also not so much? Because all kids were little monsters some of the time right? If Steve could have a moment to get his bearings...
"This was a terrible idea, Jeffathan."
"I think it was a great idea, actually. I really think this could work."
"No. I forbid it. Don't do this again."
Then there was a sweet and beautiful humming. It made the edges of Steve's mind go fuzzy and soft. He blinked slowly and looked for the source of the sound. Eddie stared at him intently and when he spoke, his voice was like music.
"Steve," Eddie said. "Steve, do you want to make me happy?"
Steve nodded dumbly. He wanted that more than anything in the whole world. He wanted to make Eddie smile. He wanted Eddie to never stop singing.
"It would make me very happy if you went home and forgot everything you saw here today," Eddie continued.
Steve made a sad sound. He didn't want to forget. He didn't want to forget beautiful, gorgeous Eddie and this place that could make his dream come true.
"Please, Steve," Eddie's lyrical voice took on an aching mournful tone. "If you don't, you'll break my heart. I'll never be happy again."
The sadness in the song made Steve feel like the world was ending. Eddie couldn't be sad! Steve would rather die than make Eddie sad!
"I forget," Steve mumbled through the fog in his mind. "And you'll be happy?"
"So happy. I'd be the happiest man alive if you do that one little thing for me, my sweet Steve."
Steve nods again. "Okay."
"Good boy," Eddie croons. Steve felt like he swallowed the sun at those words. He followed Eddie as Eddie guided him through the halfway house. Eddie hummed his lovely song the entire way.
"Go home and forget," Eddie sang one last time as he helped Steve get behind the wheel of his car.
"Yeah," Steve replied dreamily and drove away.
--
The telephone rang shrilly through his apartment. Steve stumbled out of bed and picked up, only fumbling it a little bit.
"H'llo?"
"Steve, what the hell, I've been trying to get a hold of you all day! Where have you been?" Robin's voice rang out, making Steve flinch. He scrubbed his free hand over his face tiredly.
"Home? I just woke up," Steve said. It was weird that he was fully dressed, he thought dazedly, but it wouldn't be the first time he's passed out drunk in his street clothes. Was he wearing this shirt yesterday? He could've sworn he'd worn the navy one.
"What? Just now? It's like five in the evening!"
"Huh. That'd explain the weird dream," Steve mumbled.
"Was it the one where you get seduced by a giant squid? Because I don't need to know more about your weird tentacle fetish."
"I don't have a tentacle fetish! I had the dream ONE time, and I wasn't being seduced, I was getting drowned and it was terrifying!"
"To-may-to, to-mah-to."
"Whatever, this one was weirder anyway."
"I find that hard to believe but now I'm morbidly curious. Hit me with it."
"...I don't remember."
"There goes my entertainment for the evening."
"Was there a reason you called, Robin?"
"Yes! I met this girl named Chrissy and I swear Steve, she's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen..."
Beautiful. Steve had the faint impression of dark eyes and silver rings, but it was quickly washed away like a child's sandcastle in the tide under the onslaught of Robin's ramblings. As he listened to his best friend, he couldn't help but feel there was something he'd forgotten. There was something he'd been planning on doing today, wasn't there...?
...oh, well. If it was really important, he'd remember eventually.

Standing in front of a human shaped dummy in the private training room, Steve was showing you all the best ways to direct an attack to assure your opponent goes down, and stays down.
After your mission and injury, Steve was out for a few days on a business trip the same day that you were medically cleared to get back to work. So, it had been a while since the last time you trained together.
You both decided it was a good idea to just take it easy and review what you already know as a means of studying for your final evaluation coming up.
Every agent had to take a final evaluation upon completing every single training course shield had to offer. It was a big deal, and though nobody had any doubts that you were ready for it, it could never hurt to review and improve.
"Knock knock, bitches." Bucky announced, causing both of you to stop.
"Hey, Bucky boy" You greeted him.
"What's going on, Buck?" Steve questioned.
"I dunno, I'm bored." He shrugged. "Can I just sit and watch?"
"Don't you have work to do?" You asked with a giggle.
"I finished!" He defended himself. "You two get to spend so much time without me, it's only fair I get to insert myself here whenever I want to."
"You act like this is personal and not us doing our jobs" Steve raised an eyebrow at him.
"That's a technicality I'm choosing to ignore." Bucky sat on the ground with his back against the wall.
Steve looked at you to make sure it was okay that he sat and watched, but he caught something he wished he hadn't. Just for a split second, you narrowed your eyes at Bucky, and he gave you a very subtle nod back.
He realized that it very well could've been nothing, but it definitely seemed like it was something.
Though Steve didn't bring it up at all, he made mental note of it. He was confident in his deep knowledge of both of his friend's behavior, and he was choosing to trust his gut on that observation.
The rest of your time together, Bucky sat and watched quietly, only occasionally responding to conversations that would break out that weren't work related. Towards the end, Steve wanted to confirm some scheduling, so he cut the physical work a few minutes early.
He sat on the bench with you as you pulled a sweatshirt over your head, and your everyday sneakers onto your feet.
"Okay, so, your final evaluation is one week from today." Steve noted. "So this week will be really simple, we can keep doing this, just reviewing what we've already been over. But our training together is still supposed to run until the end of the month so we have three extra weeks together."
"What am I supposed to do when this ends?! I'll be so bored without you!" You exclaimed.
Steve chuckled. "You should be happy that you survived my course!"
"I mean I am, but then what?"
"Maybe another Avenger will take you under their wing." Steve shrugged.
"I can only think of one Avenger with wings" you noted.
"What do you want to cover in the three weeks together after your evaluation?" He asked.
Your lips formed into a pout. "I know what it should be, but I don't wanna do it"
"Restraints?" Steve questioned sympathetically.
"Restraints... I guess." You grumbled.
Every fighter had a weak spot. Just one thing that made their stomachs turn and their hearts race, something that really scared them regardless of mental work or preparation. Some people couldn't handle heights, didn't do very well when they saw blood, and really freaked out over handling certain weapons.
You just happened to be terrified of being restrained, which unfortunately was a very plausible situation to find yourself in as an agent. There was no reason why you were terrified of it, nothing happened in your life to make you fear it as much as you did. But the thought of having your hands or legs tied made you feel claustrophobic in a way you couldn't even describe using words.
"It'll be scary at first, but we'll work on it" Steve reassured. "Wouldn't you rather learn how to get out of any sort of restraint with someone you trust then find yourself in a situation where you're tied up at the hands of an enemy with no way out?"
"Logically yes, but in reality I would like neither of those things to happen." You responded with a twinge of sarcasm.
Steve laughed, "okay well, I wouldn't like that to happen to you either! But once you learn how to escape from a bunch of different scenarios, you won't be scared of it anymore. Knowledge is power!"
"I know you didn't just knowledge is power me, you loser!" You joked with a snort.
"Oh I certainly did, and I'll do it again." He stated with a smile. "Confidently!"
"Okay, I guess I trust you enough to teach me." You committed to the endeavor.
"Good job, pushing yourself is how you grow better as a fighter." Steve praised your bravery. "We'll start with the easiest and work our way up to the hardest, then you'll be such a pro at it that nothing could ever hold you back."
"Yeah, yeah." You playfully rolled your eyes.
"Then after our training together is officially over, I'm going to block off my schedule these same two hours every day to just cry." Steve put a hand over his heart.
"Can you do that to my schedule too? Maybe we can cry together?"
"I'll see what I can do." Steve agreed, before opening his arms up for a hug. You happily hugged him back. "Good job today! You're going to do great on your assessment no matter who is assigned to asses you. We all know it."
"Thanks for teaching me!" You smiled. "In all seriousness, I've really enjoyed getting to learn from you. Thanks for all the time you've put onto me."
"Anytime, Bug. I've been enjoying it just as much." Then Steve turned to include Bucky in their conversation. "What are you guys up to for the rest of the day?"
"Nothing, well, I think that's pretty obvious considering I'm just sitting here" Bucky shrugged. "Do you guys want to hang out? Maybe we can walk to that cool park a few blocks from here? Watch the sunset and get some fresh air?"
"That sounds good to me." Steve agreed. "Buggy, you in?"
Both boys watched as you stood up and slipped your gym back onto your shoulder. "As fun as that sounds, I can't. You know Agent 563? We made plans to have an early dinner together so I have to get ready to leave here soon."
"Booooo, buzz kill!" Bucky announced dramatically.
"That doesn't mean you can't go on a cute little sunset date with your boyfriend without me, Bucky." You smiled at him. "By all means, you boys have fun."
"I think that's great." Steve told you, ignoring the boyfriend comment. "563 is a great agent, and I think it's important that you girls stick together.
"Lord knows we need some time away from the amount of testosterone in this place." You agreed.
“Even me?" Bucky pouted.
"Even you." You smiled at him, approaching him for a hug that you had to bend over pretty far to get. "And Steve. I love you both, but I need to interact with other people than just you two!"
"Hey! I only talk to you and Steve and I'm doing just fine" Bucky defended himself.
"What about Natasha?" Steve wiggled his eyebrows suggestively at him.
"Don't bring up Natas-" Bucky started passionately
"I'm leaving!" You announced before an argument broke out. "Love you boys! Have fun on your date! I hope you hold hands and kiss each other's foreheads!"
Steve and Bucky stared at each other as you walked out of the room. The door closed behind you, and your foot steps faded until completely inaudible to either of their heightened ears.
"Why are you actually here, Buck?" Steve asked.
"You're in love with her." He claimed deadpan.
Steve's heart sank, but controlled himself the best he could as to not bluff. "Why would you say that?"
"I figured it out last night." Bucky admitted. "I was trying to sleep but my brain wouldn't turn off. I was thinking about the dynamic of our little friend group and it hit me like a train. I had to come confirm it with my own eyes."
Steve puffed out a performative chuckle and put his hands on his hips. "You understand how crazy that sounds, right?"
"Is it though?" Bucky raised an eyebrow while standing up from his spot on the floor. "I never noticed it until today. Your eyes physically twinkle when you look at her. Your cheeks have been pink since I got here, and you never stopped smiling until she left the room. Encouraging, sweet, considerate..."
"It's my job to be encouraging towards her, Buck. I'm her boss." Steve huffed, feeling annoyed and attacked by this conversation.
"Why won't you admit it?" He asked.
Steve stopped in place and noted Bucky's furrowed brows. "Wait, why do you seem so upset about this?"
"I'm not upset." Bucky denied, shaking his head. "But if you're actually pining after her, Punk..."
"What?" Steve's heart was pounding.
"Do you like her?" Bucky asked one more time, his tone was nothing but serious. His face was stone cold.
"I'm her boss." Steve slumped. "There's a power imbalance, I can't break her trust."
"And if she joins the Avengers?" His head tilted.
"She just got out of a relationship."
"It's already been a month since then." Bucky insisted. "Steve, this is between me, you, and the grave. I'm serious."
Steve threw his head back with a groan. It had been a while since he had seen Bucky this worked up about anything, so he knew it was important. But getting the admission to slip past his tongue felt morally wrong and partially impossible.
"Steve."
"Yes." He said simply, staring up at the ceiling.
"How long?"
"How long what?" Steve sighed.
"How long have you had feelings for her?"
"Since the day I met her..." Steve mumbled.
"Oh my-"Bucky rubbed his face with his hand before running his hand through his hair. "You hid it too well."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Steve froze up as his mind ran laps around Bucky's behavior. He already knew what was coming before he could admit to it.
"You're going to hate us, but I need to tell you something..." Bucky said apologetically.
Meanwhile, you were having a fantastic time with Agent 563, Clara. Though the two of you were friendly around the compound, you never had the chance to actually sit and have a long conversation with her before. Both of you getting the chance to vent about the workplace environment and culture to someone who actually understood what it was like to experience it in the unique way you did was refreshing to say the least.
After dinner neither of you were ready to end the conversation there, so you grabbed ice cream on the way back, and walked the whole way home together. At a certain point, work was a topic long forgotten as you two bonded over other similar interests like movies, hobbies, family, you two even shared the same love for video games.
By the time you made it back to your apartment, there was a smile on your face and a lightness to your heart you hadn't felt in a while. It was obvious that work was making you feel heavy and alone for a while, but you didn't realize how bad it actually was until you got away from it.
That smile was wiped off your face when you opened the door to Steve sitting on your couch with a stiffness in his body and an anger on his face you had never seen before.
"Hey, are you alright?" You immediately asked as his head snapped over to you the second the door opened.
Alarm bells were instantly ringing. Your heart dropped into your stomach, and raced with a speed you didn't quite know was possible.
You had given Steve and Bucky a key to your place just like you had keys to theirs, but the three of you typically hung out at Steve's place. Either of them coming to your apartment was a rare occurrence, and them ever using your key was even more rare.
Steve watched you kick off your shoes and hang up your purse, he felt so many emotions all at once that he couldn't even begin to get the words out.
You hesitantly approached, he still didn't answer. "What's wrong?"
"Why didn't you tell me?" Steve questioned. His tone very obviously gave away his state of emotion, it only made you feel more anxious.
You had a suspicion what this was about, but number one rule as an agent was to never incriminate yourself. "Tell you what?"
"Don't do that with me." Steve denied. "Bucky already told me. I don't understand why you guys would do that and keep it from me."
Your posture slumped knowing that this reaction was exactly why you and Bucky decided to keep a dirty little secret from Steve. So you sat down on an armchair next to the couch he sat on so you could explain.
But, he didn't even give you a chance to defend yourself before he spoke again. "Did either of you even consider how hooking up with each other would affect me?"
"Hey now, let's get some facts straight." You didn't let him go any further. "I feel like the term hooking up is giving what we did way more credit than what it was worth, and yes, we did consider you, which is why we both agreed we weren't going to tell you."
"Great, thank you so much for the consideration. That makes me feel really secure in my friendships with both of you!" Steve said sarcastically, feeling betrayed and admittedly heartbroken beyond words.
"Wait" You shook your head. "I know that sounds bad, but you have to understand that we all have different morals and personal opinions when it comes to sex and we knew you wouldn't understand."
"What is there to not understand?" He questioned. "You two had sex with no regard to how it would effect our friendships with each other."
"First of all, it wasn't sex, there was no penetration." You corrected. "Second of all, we didn't think it would effect our friendships because that's all we are to each other."
"I don't care about the details or what actually went down between you. Had either of you told me you liked each other from the get go it wouldn't have been a problem. I would've been happy for you two." He grumbled.
"We don't like each other." You denied. "We were just at the right place at the right time, things moved fast, and that's that. There's no romance happening, nothing to make social group weird. We all know Bucky likes Natasha."
"Well it's weird now." Steve glared at you.
"What do you want me to do now? It already happened, I can't go back and change it." You noted. "Want me to suck your dick too and call it even?"
"This isn't funny and I really don't appreciate that comment." He scoffed.
"It wasn't weird for you until Bucky opened his mouth, huh?" You asked him. "Was it weird for you two weeks ago when it actually happened?"
"I don't care." He swallowed thickly.
Feeling quite taken back by his behavior, and a little more that a little annoyed that Bucky spilled the beans, your attitude came out. "I'm a grown woman capable of making grown choices, and I don't owe you an explanation of what I choose to do with my body, Steve."
"No, you don't." He agreed, but you made him snap. "But I'm feeling betrayed and disrespected by the two of you, and that, I do feel like I'm owed an explanation for."
"Are you mad at Bucky too?" You snapped right back. "Huh? Did you yell at him?"
"He told me the truth." Steve rationalized.
"Yeah, well I never lied to you." You pointed out. "And why did Bucky feel the need to tell you what we did privately? Huh? Do you feel like I'm allowed to feel betrayed and disrespected for him going against our word?"
"I'm not here to tell you how to feel. I'm here to try and rationalize any of the choices we're making right now." He raised his voice. "My friends are the only family I have, and I refuse to lose a friend I've already lost many times before over a stupid choice."
Just with that one sentence, he broke your heart. "And that right there, is exactly why I thought it was okay in the first place." You growled as all of your self defenses came rushing in to protect you from the words you always knew to be true but never wanted to admit.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm expendable to you and Bucky. I always have been." You stood up from your spot next to him. "You say you're upset because you didn't want to ruin the dynamic of the friend group but guess what? The dynamic has always been you and Bucky hanging out and me just kind've being there. You'll always choose each other, and everyone will always choose someone else over me."
"That's not true." Steve denied. Although he was seeing red with anger, your words made him sad for you.
"I'm never anyone's first choice, Steve. You'll always choose Bucky, Bucky will always choose you. My sister will choose her husband, Harvey will always choose literally anything but me. Nobody else here is willing to be my friend because it's like social suicide, and I had to completely isolate myself from my normal civilian friends for this job." You explained. "I'm the best agent so I get used and abused and harassed out of the pack, but if I become an avenger I'll be singled out as the worst one. You and Bucky claimed you'd always have my back but now I know that's not true."
"Stop saying that." Steve shook his head.
"Nobody wants me." You spat, Steve could tell you believed that to be true.
It shattered his already broken heart, because if you had even the slightest clue of how bad he wanted you, you'd never say those words again. But he couldn't tell you, it simply wasn't an option.
"Nobody wants me ever but that night, Bucky wanted me. So forgive me for latching onto any ounce of human connection I can get these days. That choice was never about you, and I'm sorry that it hurt your feelings but I'm struggling more than I ever have and right now I need to put me first."
"Bucky and I have always loved having you around."
"That might be true, but you proved my point with your own mouth." A single tear fell down your cheek, but you wiped it away just as fast as it fell. "You said you weren't willing to lose Bucky. But right now it feels like you're willing to lose me."
"Don't be mad at him." Steve shook his head.
"He had no right telling you that without consulting me first." You denied. "Unless he broke some kind of code or something there was no rea-" Your own words made reality wash over you like an angry ocean wave trying to swallow you whole. "Oh my god."
"No-" Steve shook his head.
"He broke bro code, didn't he?" You asked Steve, feeling suddenly nauseous.
Steve felt nauseous too. His brain couldn't think of anything but the truth at the moment, but he was horrified. Though he tried to formulate the correct response, nothing felt right at the moment. "You slept in my bed."
"Oh my god." You took a slow step back, unable to process what information you were just receiving. He watched as your face turned just as red as his. "You like me?"
A billion different things came to mind. So many scenarios, so many possibilities, every single time you suppressed your own feelings for Steve because you never thought a man like him could ever love you. It was wrong. Yet all this time, he was harboring a secret of his own. And even then it was still wrong.
"You slept in my bed while you had a boyfriend." Steve spoke so firmly you swore you could feel the bass vibrating the floor.
"This whole time you we're hoping I'd jump right into your arms after breaking things off with Harvey?"
Steve knew where this was going, and the look on your face was just as horrified as he felt. Your lip was wobbling, your hands were shaking, and with every statement you took a step back. "No. But I did think that there was enough happening between us that you wouldn't go for Bucky."
"I slept in your bed because I trusted you, you asshole." You cried, pointing a finger at him. "I slept in your bed while staying with Harvey because he was the only man crazy enough to actually love me and I didn't ever think anyone would be crazy enough to love me ever again."
Steve opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. His jaw hung open for a moment, before it closed, then opened again. "Well then I guess you were wrong."
"I was wrong." You agreed, wiping your face once more as you watched his eyes tear up. "I trusted you to keep me safe in training, protect me against the people who are harassing me. I trusted you as a friend, a confidant. I even trusted you enough to see me naked, but I was wrong."
"This is exactly why I didn't tell you." Steve mumbled. "Because you trusted me and I didn't want to break it. Bucky didn't know."
"So let me get this straight. You had a secret that you kept from both of us, but Bucky's actions are excusable because he didn't know. My actions are inexcusable but I also didn't know, and we did the exact same thing together?" You asked. "You spend a lot of time talking shit about men's double standards around the compound for someone who turned around and is treating me the exact same way."
"I'm trying to talks through this so we can all go back to being friends."
"You we're never my friend." Your words cut through his heart like a knife. "You we're someone being nice to me in hopes of getting in my pants one day."
"No, that's not true." Steve pleaded, blinking back tears. "Our friendship means a lot to me. That's why I'm this upset in the first place."
"I don't think I can ever go back to being just friends with your or Bucky ever again." You cried. "All of you guys here are the same, I can't do this anymore."
Steve watched you clutch your stomach, as you spun on your heels and walked straight for the door. Little did he know, you felt so nauseous you were trying your hardest not to throw up.
"So that's it?" Steve asked, standing up from the couch. "You're going to throw away everything the three of us have built together as friends because we can't have a rational conversation?"
"A rational conversation? You can't even admit that you're only mad at me because you wanted to get into my pants and now you feel like you can't because Bucky got me first." You turned around to look at him. "That's all I am to anyone. That's the only relationships I've been able to form since I've gotten in this compound. You, Bucky, Harvey. I'm not a human to you guys, I might as well just be a glory hole."
"You're misunderstanding me." Steve shook his head, eyebrows raising upward like a sad puppy.
"That makes two of us." You turned back around and grabbed your packed duffel near the door that you always kept for emergencies.
"I care about you, you know that right?"
"It sure doesn't feel like it right now." You denied his claim.
"Where are you going?" Steve asked. "This is your house."
"The compound has never felt like home to me." The door swung open. You didn't even look back at him before stepping through the doorway. "Don't worry about where I'm going, just say the fuck away from me."
And just like that, the door slammed behind you and rattled the ground. You set off like a storm on the other side, and Steve was left on his own to crumble. Only when he was sure you were gone for good did he let tears fall down his face.
Trying your absolute hardest to hold it together you rushed through the compound hallways, desperately trying to avoid seeing anyone you knew before you made it to your car.
You didn't have it in you to have a face to face conversation with Bucky at the moment, but you did feel like you needed to tell him that the friendship was over, so you called him instead.
"Hey, bug." He answered sympathetically.
"Why did you tell him?" You cried.
"I had to." There was a deep sigh from the phone line. "What did he tell you?"
"Why the fuck are you protecting him?" You asked. It was admittedly a little harsh, but Steve had already amped you up.
"So he told you everything." Bucky stated. "I figured out he was in love with you last night. I couldn't in good conscience keep our secret anymore. He needed to know because the longer we kept it from him the worse this would've been."
"He doesn't love me, Bucky." You denied. "What he did wasn't love. It was control, and it was power, but it's not love."
"I can tell you're upset with him, but I don't think that was his intention." Bucky calmly denied. "Give it a few days to settle, alright? You can be mad at us all you want and I understand why, but emotions are high right now and it seems like both you and Steve are villianizing each other."
"I'm going to be gone for the weekend." You stated, needing to set firm boundaries. "I love you, but you hurt me and I need to get away."
"I'm sorry, bug. I really am." He apologized.
"You, Harvey, and Steve will all be blocked from reaching me unless it's during work hours. And as of now, I can't be a friend of yours."
"I understand" Bucky accepted the repercussions of his actions, though he was sad about it. "I hope you know we care a lot about you. I'm sorry this is all happening this way, but I still want you to be safe. Will you let someone know where you're going? Maybe Commander Bennett?"
"Yeah, I will." You agreed, feeling relieved that at least Bucky was being rational. "I hope in a little while we can figure this out between you and I, but it's going to take some time."
"I hope so too." He agreed. "Stay safe, and be smart. I'm here for you whenever you're ready."
You hung up, drove off, and the second the compound was in your rear view mirror it felt like the weight of the world was off your shoulders.
The weekend came and went simultaneously way too fast, yet painfully slow at the same time. You stayed with your sister who welcomed you with widely opened arms, and really took the time to listen to you when you spoke. She let you get it all out, she wiped your tears, then by morning you'd put on a brave face for Luca.
Spending a lot of quality time with him was truly the only reason you hadn't fully lost your mind. By Monday you felt well enough to face the shit show that was work, but it didn't last very long.
You had made it a whopping 4 hours into the work week before getting sent to Steve's office with an ice pack pressed to your cheek and Commander Bennett opening the door for you.
Steve looked up as the two of you entered, but your eyes were glued to the floor. You didn't need to look around to see where the chair was. You already knew.
He hoped that Bennett couldn't feel the thick tension that filled the room, but it was unusual for him to follow you to his office, and he did take note of how bad you looked.
Well, unfortunately for him he always thought you were stupidly beautiful, but your eyes were swollen. You looked exhausted, drained, and nothing like your usual fiery self.
"We need to do something about 212." Commander Bennett cut straight to the chase. "We can't keep cutting into her work time and having her get hurt because 212 and all his awful friends are picking on her."
"What happened?" Steve asked, trying to see what was under the ice pack.
"I saw them trip her with my own eyes. I don't know if they thought I wasn't watching, or if they thought they were being sly enough that I wouldn't notice, but this cannot continue." He stood firm. "Poor thing smacked her face against the floor, but she still is claiming that reprimanding them will make it worse. So what's the solution?"
Steve sighed and leaned back in his chair. "Do you have any ideas, Commander?"
"Give them one more strike. Let them all know that if they pull this again one more time before evaluation we will disqualify them from taking the test." He suggested. "That includes physical, and verbal attacks."
"That's a really good idea, thank you." Steve agreed. "I'll talk to them today."
"Are you comfortable with that, 306?" Bennett asked you.
"Yes, sir." Your voice was hoarse.
"I'm going to give her the option of cutting her work day short or continuing her training, but no matter what we all know she doesn't need more training." He noted. "I'll leave her with you so you guys can figure out your schedules."
"Thank you." Steve said politely.
Bennett left and the door clicked shut behind him, but your eyes stayed glued to the floor. Your options were go to your apartment and sleep the rest of the miserable daylight away, or spend two hours alone in a room with Steve.
You both already knew what the choice was going to be. There was no need to discuss the schedule change.
Steve knew you hated his guts right now, and he was still feeling hurt by you, but it took a few moments for it to dawn on him that he still needed to be a boss and a leader regardless. So he put his best foot forward.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
There was barely any compassion in his voice, he might as well have been a robot, so you didn't bother responding. You didn't even bother looking at him.
"Would you like to talk about the incident?" He pushed.
"No, Captain." You responded, coming to the same awareness that he was still your boss.
Your use of his title and refusal to look at him felt like a shot to the heart. "Would you like to be relieved of duties until tomorrow?"
"Yes, Captain."
"You are dismissed."
Just like the last time he saw you, you walked out on him without as much as a glance back knowing the next time you'd be forced to see him would be evaluation day.

"What am I going to have to do to make you take this class seriously?"
You blinked owlishly. It would be a lie to say you were completely expecting such an inquiry. Slightly tilting your head, you pondered your teacher's question. There wasn't much, really. But all of those options weren't significant enough to motivate you.
Reaching a quick conclusion, you shrugged your shoulders. "I dunno. A million Mora?"
He was not amused. With a sigh, he turned away from you and held your test. A somewhat large "40/100" was written on the top of the page in red ink. It obviously wasn't enough to improve your current grade, and might have even dropped it even further. If an F- was a thing, you were positive you'd have it. But, hey, at least it wasn't a zero! There was some effort.
"Did you even try?" Zhongli knows he's not supposed to ask questions like this because everyone learns at their own pace. But you made it nearly impossible for him to teach you. It wasn't even a hard test, either. Everyone managed to acquire a passing grade except for you.
"I mean. Kind of," you replied. You answered the questions you knew off the top of your head and left those that needed you to think. You were sure you could've passed if you put in a bit more effort. It truthfully was an easy test, but who actually tries in a class they don't even like? Not you, that's for sure.
"I noticed that the grades for your other classes are higher. Is there something you don't like me doing?" He seemed genuine. It almost made you feel bad.
"No. Everything's just so boring here." You shook your head. Crossing your arms, you looked around the room to curb your growing impatience to leave.
He hummed. "You're fidgeting quite a lot. Are you expecting something?"
You peered at him with a confused expression. But despite your bemused guise, yes, you were. You swallowed nervously. Was it really that obvious?
Maybe he doesn't know, yet.
"No?" you finally spoke. You mentally cursed the uncertain tone in your voice. Fuck.
"Really?" He beckoned you closer to him. As soon as you were within arm's reach, he grabbed you by the collar of your shirt and pulled you to him. "It seems to me you haven't forgotten about what happened two weeks ago. You purposely failed, didn't you?"
You tried to jerk away from him in a surprised panic. "What? No, I didn't!"
He had such a tight grip on your shirt you were briefly afraid that he might tear it. "Do not deny the blatant truth." His eyes flicked downwards. You followed his shameless gaze, surprised to see yourself hardening within the confines of your pants. You were too caught up trying to defend yourself you hadn't realized the intensifying warmth traveling through your veins.
Your mouth was left agape, mind blank and unable to forge an excuse. "I..."
Zhongli raised an expectant brow, waiting for the waterfall of words to pour out of your mouth in a futile attempt to save your dignity and pride, even when he knew it was unlikely. Perhaps that was your attempt?
He kept you at arm's length as he studied your heated face, which only made you squirm further. You could barely stand to look him in the eyes, locking gazes every so often before it was promptly broken to look elsewhere.
It's pitiful, he thought. But he would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy your distress. With yet another hum, he used his free hand to pull you to your knees. You stared at him with a surprised expression as if this wasn't exactly what you wanted.
"Well? Go on," he said, leaning back against his chair. Nodding nervously, you removed his belt and unzipped his pants to pull out his cock. You could feel your mouth involuntarily watering at the sight. You flattened your tongue and gave a lick from base to tip. You gently sucked on the head before moving lower, stopping just before he reached your throat.
You relished in the deep groan he emitted, using it as encouragement to go faster. He was thick and made your jaw slightly ache, but he had yet to completely harden. You used the saliva that leaked through the corners of your mouth as a lubricant to jerk off what you couldn't get.
You softly moaned at the taste of his precum, the vibrations of your voice making his cock twitch. You hollowed your cheeks over the tip to gather more of it, but quickly dipped your head back down. You repeated the cycle a few more times until Zhongli deemed himself wanting more.
You looked up at him through your lashes when you noticed his arm rising toward your hair. The weight of his hand could have been mistaken as comforting if it weren't for the fact that his fingers tightly curled around your hair. You could feel your chest buzzing. It was a mix of anticipation, fear, and excitement.
You gagged when he pushed your head down, forcing you to swallow more of his cock. You instinctively tried to pull away, chest beginning to strain from your gags and the sudden lack of air. No matter how much you seemed to persist, it felt as if your strength was nothing compared to his.
You quickly realized this, and made yourself relax as much as you could. It was exhilarating to let him have his way with you, using your mouth without any regard toward your own comfort. You snaked a hand across your neck and lightly squeezed, cock throbbing within the confines of your pants when he let out a groan.
"This is what you're good at, isn't it?" His voice sounded strained. "Is this your way of raising your other grades? Letting your teachers use your mouth as they see fit?"
Of course not! You made a few sounds (though you mostly choked and gagged) in an attempt to reply. A mildly annoyed expression crossed over his face.
"You still don't know how to be quiet even when you're sucking my cock?" He pushed your head down as far as possible, your nose pressing against his pelvis. He held you there until your chest began to burn, desperate for air. The black spots that collected in the corners of your vision faded with each deep inhale. The tip of his cock rested on your tongue, though you sealed your lips around it every so often to swallow his precum.
You could feel him throb rhythmically when you held him in your hand again to lightly tap the head on your tongue. You peered up at his flushed face with a slight grin, and he had the mind to shove you back down. You began to jerk him off fervently as a heat swelled in his abdomen.
He tightly gripped the armrests of his chair and held himself back from thrusting into your fist. The flame of ecstasy intensified further and further until it finally enveloped him completely, hips lightly jutting upwards as cum spurted from his cock. He let out a long, deep groan as he tossed his head back.
You moved back over him to gather his cum in your mouth, gently using your tongue to help him prolong his orgasm and coax out more of his semen. It wasn't until he began to tug you off of him did you back away, licking cum off of your fingers.
You were briefly aware of the ache in your knees as you stared up at him expectantly, which prompted an eyebrow raise from him.
"What?"
"What about me?" You frowned. You couldn't help but squeeze your thighs together in hopes of stimulation.
"You don't deserve it," he said. He internally smiled at your expression. "Especially not after your test score."
He shifted, trying to stand up to fix his appearance when you held onto his leg. His amber eyes met yours so full of ill-concealed desperation.
"Wait-!" You swallowed hard, surprised by your own need. "I-I'll do good next time. I promise! Just... just please let me cum. I'll take this class seriously."
"Tempting offer," he said, tilting his head in thought. He would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy treating you like this, but the main reason he was so irritated with you was because you refused to let him help you towards a better grade. He's not one to give up very easily, so he's willing to take your word for it just this once.
"Very well, then." He sat down on his chair and leaned back, pushing one of his legs towards you so his shoe pressed against your throbbing cock. You jolted at the sensation, completely underestimating just how horny you were. Electricity flowed through your body and left your skin feeling tingly and hot.
You felt like you could burst right then and there as you quickly began rubbing your clothed dick against the hard material of his shoe. Oh how pitiful you looked, trying to pull him closer to you as you thrust harder.
"Look at you." He had an amused undertone in his voice. "Grinding against me so desperately. You're just like a mutt in heat, aren't you?"
You had no will to retort, simply focused on reaching your orgasm. You bit your lip to stop yourself from moaning too loud, nearly breaking skin. You were very sensitive from ignoring your own pleasure earlier, and you were sure you weren't going to last much longer.
You let out a strained whimper when he straightened his foot, rubbing you with enough force for it to slightly hurt. You mumbled out curses and pleas towards no-one in particular and steadily grew louder the closer you got to your peak.
"Oh, fuck, fuck, fuck..." You cut yourself off with a moan, trembling as the burning sensation of euphoria overcame your senses. Your hips jolted with each pulse of pleasure that ran through you.
With a shaky sigh, you fell back onto your ass and steadily regained your breath. Good lord, that took more out of you than you thought. You grimaced when the patch of your cum slowly cooled, leaving an uncomfortable sticky sensation that you were going to have to walk home with.
You peered up at Zhongli when he spoke, "I expect you to abide by your promise. I do not want to see any more F's in the immediate future."
You wearily nodded. "Yes, sir."
He studied you for a moment longer. "You seem to be driven at the thought of an orgasm."
Now, that caught your attention. You refocused and nearly broke out into an excited smile when he continued.
"Maybe if you pass the next test with a B or higher, I'll reward you."

smth spicy w the legal line pls literally anything LOL
i felt that LMAO also i wrote about random scenarios/headcanons for the hyung line, i really hope you like it !!
warnings: MINORS DNI. not smut, but highly suggestive. implied sex in all of them. jiwoong is a teacher, matthew is drunk, angst in taerae's part, there is swearing as always
jiwoong
— okay so i can definitely see jiwoong being a graduate ta (teacher's assisstant) for college
— grad ta!jiwoong gives you several concerned looks from the front of the room (literally 6 ft away from where you were)
— today was a bad day to sit in the front row of the classroom, because you were all hot and bothered
— behind the desk, your legs pressed together, trying to supress any unwanted, inappropriate thoughts about your hot teacher while he talked about the sternocleidomastoid muscle
— you definitely weren't supposed to be thinking about getting railed in your 9am anatomy recitation, yet here you were
— unfortunately for you, it didn't go unnoticed by jiwoong
— after he ended the class, you knew you had to get out of there as soon as possible
— as you're gathering up your supplies and getting ready to go to your next class, you see jiwoong approach you, crossing his arms across his chest
— "are you okay, y/n? you seemed a bit distracted today"
— his eyes show some concern, but mostly a teasing glance
— he KNOWS what he's doing to you
— "um yeah i'm okay, i was just a bit distracted by y- i mean by the temperature in the room i mean it's so hot in here today?? wait i mean-"
— before you could help it, you started rambling on and revealing more than you should
— an amused smile appears on his stupidly handsome face
— "y/n, why don't you stay a bit longer today? i can help you review for the test next week"
— all signs of flusteredness leaves your body at the tantilizing offer
— "well shit okay jiwoong. i'm a hands-on learner by the way" 😳
zhang hao
— you were in the music building of your college campus, fingers flying away on the piano in front of you in the practice room
— being a music major was not an easy task, but it was so rewarding to see your hard work pay off after a performance, and you loved every part about it
— the music department had decided to randomly pair the music students other for the first performance of the year
— out of all the people you could've been paired with, you happened to get assigned to zhang hao. your literal crush.
— it was pretty well-known around the music department that you and zhang hao had the hots for each other, but both of you were too preoccupied with your studies to make a move
— so you and fellow music major!zhang hao had been practicing for hours for the past week, trying to perfect the dynamics and details of the piece you guys were working on
— it was a bit embarrassing at times, since you specialized in the piano only, but zhang hao (who is undoubtedly a professional violinist but also somehow an exceptional pianist as well) would correct your techniques and skills
— you felt a bit belittled, but deep down you know zhang hao was genuinely kind-hearted and didn't have any bad intentions by trying to help you
— it also really didn't help that you had a huge crush on him, because it made you even more flustered and prone to making mistakes
— after working on a section for 20 minutes with no improvement, zhang hao sets his violin down and sits next to you on the piano bench, his body lightly brushing against yours
— as zhang hao places his hands on the piano keys to demonstrate, you try not to think about how pretty his hands are and how long his fingers are, and what they would feel like inside you
— "what did you just say y/n?"
— oh fuck. did you really just say your lewd thoughts out loud?
— you turn around to see a blushing zhang hao, his eyes not meeting yours and his hand awkwardly touching the back of his neck while chuckling
— "i'm really sorry if i made you umcomfortable hao i didn't mean-"
— zhang hao eventually holds a finger to your lips, effectively shutting you up
— he leans in closer until you feel his hot breath against your ear
— "you know, y/n, i can show you a different kind of fingering technique, if you know what i mean"
hanbin
— you and your boyfriend!hanbin had only been dating for three weeks
— it was still very early in your relationship, so when he invited you over to his place for the night, you were ecstatic
— understandably, since it was a milestone in the relationship
— hanbin is such a considerate and thoughtful guy
— he would keep asking you if you were comfortable staying over
— when you arrive at his door, he excitedly greets you and grabs your hand to pull you inside
— "y/n you're here ! i wanna show you everything !!"
— you return a smile and follow hanbin around
— he was so cute when he got excited, eyes sparkling and everything
— he gives you a full tour of the small but cozy apartment
— after the tour, homemade dinner, and cuddling while watching a movie on the sofa, it gets late
— "i dont know about you hanbin but i'm eepy"
— hanbin laughs and agrees, pulling you in for a kiss on the top of your head
— "oh hanbin, where do you want me to sleep?"
— "you can sleep in my bed y/n. we are dating after all."
— he must've seen the gears turning in your head
— "y/n, we don't have to do anything at all, please don't feel pressured to. i won't do anything until you're 100% ready, i promise. you can sleep on the sofa if that makes you feel more comfortable i can get you extra blankets-"
— "hanbin, what if i want to... do something?"
— he stops his sentence and smiles, reaching out to hold both of your hands
— "are you sure y/n?"
— "yes hanbin i want to."
— "you know.... my roommate matthew won't be home until tomorrow morning"
matthew
— frat boy!matthew was five and a half drinks in and starting to feel the alcohol kick in
— maybe it was the vodka cran coursing through his veins, but matthew was feeling bold tonight
— matthew didn't usually do hook ups with strangers, but you were an exception he knew he couldn't pass up on
— his best friend hanbin from besides him, notices how matthew kept looking at you from across the room
— "dude, go talk to them"
— sober matthew would have never even thought about it, but this wasn't sober matthew right now
— you were only two drinks in, fully aware of your surroundings and decisions, and felt your heart rate pick up as you saw the cute boy approach you with a charming smile on his face
— matthew shamelessly eyes you up and down the whole time you guys were talking
— the next thing you know, you're up against a wall in a corner of the frat house's upstairs, secluded from the rest of the drunk, sweaty college students
— matthew has you pinned up against the wall, his hands tangled in your hair while the two of you make out, eventually stumbling into a nearby bedroom
taerae
— having a special relationship with fwb!taerae had its perks but also its limits
— one of the limits being, you couldn't wear his clothes like you would if you had a real, committed s/o
— you know it was silly thing to be sad about, since this was what you signed up for, but it still hurt your heart whenever you think about how real couples share clothes
— it's 6:30am when you wake up in taerae's bed, naked, groggy, and disoriented
— you look over to see taerae soundly asleep, his hair messy and a serene expression on his face
— you knew you probably shouldn't stay any longer, so you quietly get out of bed, pick up your discarded clothes on the floor, and dress yourself
— for some reason you found your shorts and shirt, but couldn't find where your underwear went
— you think about grabbing a thin, white long-sleeved button-up out of taerae's closet to cover yourself up more, but decide against it since you know it was wrong to take something without asking
— "y/n, wait"
— looks like he already woke up
— although his hair is disheleved, he looks as cute as ever
— "i wanna give you something"
— you feel a rush of excitement at his words
— was he gonna give you one of his shirts???
— to your dismay, he hands you your crumpled up underwear from last night, mumbling a half-assed sorry
— "you don't want to keep it, taerae?"
— "no, it's fine y/n. also you don't need to wear underwear next time."
— your face heats up at his words and you nod your head in agreement
— there would for sure be a next time for a night of fun, but he'll never see you as someone he can be in a committed relationship with

Sorry for not specifying, lol. Those were from the angst prompt list! (this is the person who requested the Rex one-shot)
Tumblr media
I can most certainly do that for you, anon, and thank you for specifying the list!! 😊
**Slight spoilers for TBB s3 ep6**
"Bodyguards"
4. "Do you know what it would do to me if I lost you?"
16. "It's my job to protect you."
Pairing: Rex x fem reader
***
Rex had assigned you to be a bodyguard for Senator Riyo Chuchi after her own guards had been lost in an assassination attempt, especially now that she was neck-deep in her support of the Clones. She was going to need someone to watch her and she didn't want to risk anymore of her own security detail, so Rex entrusted you with that task, which you were glad to undertake. You and Riyo were similar in the fact that you both weren't Clones, but supported them in everything, fighting for their right to have a place in the galaxy. Though, after the Emperor declared the Clones were dangerous and would be replaced by his own order of stormtroopers, you knew that you and Chuchi had a lot ahead of you to help protect the Clones.
Soon after, Rex really began working hard on improving his underground network of Clones to fight back against the Empire while you helped Senator Chuchi from the inside. Neither side had it easy by any means. You and Rex kept each other informed of everything going on. He was always checking in on you, making sure you were safe. You were important to him, just as he was important to you. There was always something unspoken between the two of you that you honestly were a bit surprised hadn't been brought to light yet, given the constant danger you both were in. It didn't matter, though. You both had work to do and lives were at stake, so any feelings would have to wait.
A few months later, Chuchi was going to meet with Senator Avi Singh, the former Separatist Senator, and both you and Rex were going to be at that meeting for extra security. It wasn't long into the meeting that Rex got word something was wrong and then suddenly, there was a beeping noise in the room. A thermal detonator was thrown through the window of the room and Rex jumped into action. He caught the detonator and threw back out the window, nearly seconds before it exploded.
He had saved both Senators' lives, but seeing him throw himself into danger with such a close call made your heartrate spike with fear. He could've been killed just then had he only waited a few seconds more. Before you could say anything, he ran off to pursue the assassin while you got Senator Chuchi and Senator Singh to safety.
Some time later, he met back up with you, reporting that the assassin got away. Once you saw he was all right, you suddenly couldn't hold back.
"What were you thinking, jumping in front of the grenade like that?" you questioned him.
"I was protecting the Senators. It's my job to protect them," he stated. Then he looked intently into your eyes. "It's my job to protect you, as well."
You stepped closer to him. "I don't need you to protect me...and even so, I wouldn't want you to protect me by risking your life like that."
"I'm a soldier. It's what I do," he said.
"I don't accept that," you replied, laying your hands on his cheeks. "Do you know what it would do to me if I lost you?"
Rex's lips parted in surprise at the question, his eyes searching yours, but then he turned his gaze away, guilt etched in his features on his face as he whispered your name.
With a gentle nudge, you made him turn his head back to look at you and you stated, "Yes, we're soldiers, but we're also both human. That doesn't mean our lives are nothing to just throw away for someone else's sake. We both deserve to live...and to love."
Then, with those words having been spoken, you brought your lips to his and kissed the Captain softly and lovingly, enough to get your point across and hopefully not scare him away. After seeing him nearly have a brush with death, you were willing to take a chance at admitting your feelings. The time for waiting was over.
The sensation of your joined lips sparked a fire within the Captain that only been just an ember for so long. His arms were around you so quickly and tightly, nearly crushing you against him, and he deepened the kiss almost right away, seemingly wanting to lose himself with you.
After a passionate moment, he broke away, his breath heavy. "I know I said I was protecting the Senators," he said, "but all I could think about was you. I...I didn't want to see you hurt."
"I don't ever want to see you hurt either, Rex," you said back. "Please don't ever do something so risky like that again. We need to get through all this together."
He took your hands in his and gently kissed your fingers. "Together."

Hello, you can write that Thirteen turns M!MC into a Tiger because MC was very mischievous and provocative and bully.
You guys are really getting creative with these ones, huh. All right then, can't say I don't like your energy. MC here is not exactly mischievous or provocative, but kind of a bully.
Tumblr media
This is it. This is the day Thirteen will finally catch Solomon in her trap. The reaper giggles excitedly, setting up the snare. She was too concentrated on improving her creations, instead of focusing on what's really important: time and place. Being the genius she is, it wasn't hard to notice changes in Solomon's behavior after he spent time with MC. All those dreamy smiles and barely visible blushes. The sorcerer let his guard down around MC.
So what does that mean? That's right! That Thirteen needs to intrude into the House of Lamentation, pretending to want to work on the homework together, and set up a trap right in MC's room! She carefully chose the day when she knew the sorcerer would be visiting MC later that evening. And since she's setting up the snares right in MC's room, there are not many chances for the demons to accidentally stumble upon them and ruin everything. MC could get caught instead of Solomon, though... Whatever, Thirteen doesn't mind a bit of collateral damage. She just needs to set up two snares instead of one!
The first part of the plan went smoothly; she successfully infiltrated MC's bedroom. But it all went downhill when MC entered the room at the exact time Thirteen was setting up the trap.
"What the...?" MC stops in his tracks, witnessing the reaper crouching on the floor of his bedroom. It takes him two seconds to realize what's happening. "No! Nuh-uh! No traps in my bedroom, Thirteen! Get this shit out of here!"
"No-no-no, wait!" Thirteen quickly stands up, feeling surprisingly embarrassed about being caught. "Don't you get it? We can finally catch this slippery sorcerer! This is the perfect place and..."
"I don't want to hear any of it! Your traps are too destructive! I just fixed my bedroom after Levi flooded it with his damn Lotan, and now you want to ruin it again? I don't think so, get out!" MC gets angrier the longer Thirteen refuses to leave his room. He remembers too well how her last creation blew up the wall of RAD. His private space gets destroyed by the Demon Brothers too often, so he'll be damned if he lets it happen again. MC impulsively grabs Thirteen's arm, dragging her out.
The reaper is too shocked by the fact that someone dared to use force against HER. She lets MC shove her out of his room at first, but then she comes to her senses.
"You..." Thirteen's face twists in rage; she can still feel the heat from MC's grip on her arm, even after he let her go. "How dare you!... You think I'll let you treat me like this?!" She takes something out of her pocket and raises her arm, prepared to strike. "Eat this: Animalistic Bomb 3000!"
"Bomb?!" MC has no time to react before the explosive object flies right into his face. The whole space gets filled with steam, but Thirteen doesn't stay to witness the result of her attack. She runs away, trying to hold back unexpected tears. MC was usually supportive when it came to her creations, so such sudden rejection really hurts. Thirteen is quite confused by her own reaction, but she'll think about it later, when she gets to her cave.
If she had stayed for a while, she could've heard a rather interesting discussion inside the house.
"What the hell was that?! Guys! There's a tiger in MC's room!" Mammon yells, gathering the rest of the inhabitants.
"Tiger?!" Satan arrives first, sounding a little too excited.
"Hm, it kind of looks like MC..." Levi murmurs, keeping his distance.
"Did someone leave some cursed object in his room again?" Lucifer asks, sounding incredibly tired.
Asmo tilts his head, observing the graceful beast. "Is that just me, or does the tiger look... restless?"
"Oh, I think I know that look." Beel joins the conversation.
"Yeah?" Levi asks with hesitation as he watches Satan's attempt to sneak up on the tiger and pat its huge head.
"Yeah, I'm sure. He's hungry."
"What?!" Mammon exclaims, but it's already too late: tiger has already jumped on Satan, pinning him to the floor. "Ya idiot! Get away from this thing!"
"No, no, it's alright." Satan sounds way too calm for a person who is seconds away from getting mauled by a tiger. "If that's how I'm going to die, I'll accept it. Guys, you really should touch this fur, it's so soft!"
"Satan, I swear, you're even scarier than this tiger!" Asmo shouts at him in panic.
"I'll go check the fridge, maybe we have some meat..." Belphie sighs heavily, waddling away from this shitshow.

Or a new au with a not brain damaged Tim who Bruce keeps locked up because he’s so paranoid he’ll lose Tim like Jason? .,,, and Tim doesn’t mind Bruce locks him up like a Princess and Bruce is the dragon?
!!!! it's been a while since i thought of this dark au!!!! in the au where the family takes in tim, who they find out has more or less been a captive pet for bruce for years, they'd 100% be much less warm to bruce when he returns.
without tim having been around as robin, he was never there to be this kind of...gel padding for bruce and his kids. it's sort of implied that bruce and dick's relationship never fully recovered because it was tim as robin that facilitated that healing relationship. but tim was never around here. so that means dick really only returned for jason and damian. since there was no robin after him jason was a little more receptive to reconciliation but he also would've had a pretty split dislike for damian. he'd dislike him deeply because he's robin and because talia blindsided him with it but he'd also be more aware of damian's young age so it would kind of even him out.
so in general, all their relationships are a little fucked. but they did all feel pained when bruce died. they were upset that they lost out on the possibility of ever improving their relationship to him and getting closer. but here, since bruce always had tim one on one and used him as a sort of crutch with the fact that he was a son that loved him unconditionally- i think that would've made it so bruce wasn't exactly in the healthiest state of mind and therefore didn't reach out to his children as much as he could've or should've because he had tim there to fill that void of having a child that loved him and that allowed him to love them in return.
despite tim's more childlike state that resulted from brain damage that was bruce's fault, he is still at his core very much tim. so he sees the beginnings of clues that the rest of the family does not. the portrait of 'mordecai wayne' that tim obsesses over is a portrait of bruce and if the rest of the family had given tim more consideration they would've recognized it. but they don't so bruce isn't rescued for several more years.
a combination of different capes all note how something is off in the timeline, that there are...snags in the fabric of time. one report turns to two turns to five turns to ten.
eventually a common factor is found. evidence of...bats.
capes have come back from the dead before and it shouldn't be such a shock but still....superman orders that no one tell any of the bats in gotham until they're certain. but then they have bruce sitting in the medical bay. emaciated and heavily traumatized.
it's like a bomb is dropped on the family when they're told.
mixed emotions, heavy feelings, struggling with feeling relieved and happy while also being furious and upset because they know about tim.
tim who has become a sweet and beloved member of the family.
a lot of capes still don't know about him, the media definitely doesn't because dick was half certain that jason would bomb their offices if a single bad word about tim was published. and also because...dick feels some odd...shame about tim. he feels an urge to hide him away, to not let others know tim is in his care and is....special.
dick knows it's wrong. he knows it's wrong to feel that way about tim while also...taking advantage of him. dick knows he's scum as jason never fails to remind him, harshly whispering to him in the kitchen while tim is in the other room and saying that dick is a piece of shit for being one of those people that are embarrassed about having disabled siblings.
but the shame never leaves him and dick can never shake it off.
it's dick who goes up to the watchtower to watch over bruce while he recovers.
partly because he has the authority to, he's batman afterall, even though dick as batman has pulled away from the league and focused more on gotham. and partly because...he needs to see this man he thought he knew so well. he's spent years trying to figure out what bruce had been thinking, trying to get in his head, and trying to understand what had been going through his mind when he...he took a child.
a perfectly normal and average child. and yet when tim had been rescued from bruce's care he'd had....several healed fractures and bone breaks.
eventually, leslie had been able to conduct a thorough health examination. that's when they'd found the old injuries. injuries that were years old. a spinal injury, broken ribs, a wrist that had split clean through, the head injury that occurred at the same time that leslie said was likely the result of a drop from a big height.
when she said that dick thought back to bruce's common tactic of dangling people by their ankles from fire escapes. dick had never thought of it before but...what if....what if bruce didn't catch one of them in time?
based on tim's early medical file leslie concluded that tim may have suffered a brain bleed as a result of the fall. that would explain his delay in cognition and rendered child-like state.
it's not the first time that bruce had rendered permanent injury on someone but...but this was a kid. what on earth could tim have done to have earned this kind of punishment? and then to keep him?
to keep him from his family who died thinking he was missing? to chain him up and hide him away like he was...like he was an animal?
it was so much crueler than dick had ever thought bruce capable.
tim loved bruce. it was clear in how he referred to him with so much affection and nuzzled pictures of him. but dick couldn't exactly trust tim's words when tim was so susceptible to manipulation.
jason and damian were still having a hard time with news of bruce's return so dick had made the executive decision to go to the watchtower alone and give the rest of the family time to....come to terms with the fact that bruce was back.
dick does his best to monitor and control his emotions as bruce regains strength. as he talks about how happy he is to see dick again.
dick keeps all the emotions in check. the questions, the shouts that want to burst out of him.
bruce is everything he remembered him as but also...not. there's a new side of him dick had never seen before and now he can't ignore it.
dick talks tentatively about alfred and jason and damian, barbara, and cass and gotham.
bruce is still quite weak. confused as well. dick has entire conversations with him but then two minutes later bruce will completely forget about it.
bruce gets cleared to return home. dick receives care instructions and a bunch of medication for bruce.
dick does not mention tim. does not breathe a word of him.
he's not sure what he's expecting bruce's reaction to be when they walk through the front door of the manor and tim, who'd been sitting quietly playing with toys, is suddenly up and squealing and running to bruce with jubilant calls of 'daddy!'.
dick was maybe expecting shame. guilt. shock that his dirty little secret was out and blowing in the open.
he doesn't expect bruce to muster every bit of his strength and lift a giggling tim up like a father greeting their toddler after a long day of work.
tim wraps his arms and legs around bruce, clinging and laughing as bruce spins them around. tim's mouth is stained purple, likely from a popsicle, though bruce doesn't appear to care, leaning into tim's kisses to his cheeks.
dick feels a wad of cotton fill his throat as he tries to ignore the memory of tim's sticky, candy sweet mouth on his, little tongue pressing against dick's while dick is pressing him into the bed and softly fucking him while the rest of the family is out.
it's quite a flip on what dick had been expecting. that bruce is the one basking in a happy reunion while dick stands nearby swimming with guilt and self-hatred.
the rest of the family follows quickly behind tim's bubbly giggles that usually only happen when jason blows rasberries into his tummy.
dick can see the split among them. the tense feelings for bruce knowing about tim. and the affection for tim and seeing him so happy in bruce's arms.
bruce knows that they know about tim. he might be a little slow at the moment but the league doctors said he should be much better in a few months. there's no way that bruce doesn't remember how he'd left tim.
there's no way he's unaware how tim could've died a slow, terrifying death by starving to death in that bunker because what if dick had never found that key? what if he'd just brushed it into a garbage bag? what then?
tim didn't even know how to use the can opener! he'd been so hungry when they found him. he'd eaten two grilled cheese and half a sleeve of oreos. or worse. what if he'd hurt himself all alone in that bunker? dick had gone back down to get some of tim's things and found a dulled paring knife in one of the drawers. none of the knobs on the little countertop stove had been childproofed. what if tim had cut himself? what if he'd turned the gas on? granted tim was very good at following rules and had never once tried to touch the stove but alfred had insisted on proofing it just in case.
so many things could've happened to tim before dick reached him. a million things could've happened to tim if dick had never found that key by chance.
by chance, he always repeated to himself hysterically. it was pure luck that tim was rescued in time and dick thinks he just can't shake that off.
dick thinks about that sometimes. he has nightmares of finding that bunker years too late and only finding a skeleton. he thinks about bruce returning and being disoriented and confusing his family with his strange words and calls for 'tim' and his insistence to visit his bunker and only then do they find about his secret other son.
and even now tim is still a secret. aside from his own internalized struggle, dick couldn't just waltz into a courthouse and adopt a missing child who had been presumed dead. if anyone...if the gcpd or the media ever found out about tim there would be a lot of uncomfortable questions they'd need to answer that bruce's 'eccentric billionaire' persona wouldn't have gotten them out of.
they're tough thoughts made worse by dick's own guilt that had only grown over the years about what he's been doing to tim.
jason hates him for never having accepted tim as a little brother. damian had even tentatively broached the topic about it once.
but how could he? how could dick think of tim as his little brother when dick violates him on a weekly basis?
it used to be nightly. but then dick learned to resist. learned to stop going somewhere alone with tim and fucking his pretty little slit.
sometimes jason would force dick to take tim out for ice cream. some attempt to get them to bond. but dick would inevitably pull over to the side of the road, some patch of woods, and he'd fuck tim in the backseats, watching him squirm on his cock and make little keens and noises of pleasure.
then dick would pick up ice cream for them and it would be so much worse because he felt like a predator buying his victim a treat to keep him quiet.
over the years it became clear that jason had not been participating in these...acts. not like dick was.
and that's when dick figured it out. what bruce had likely done with tim in the bunker (dick was made certain when he made a third trip to the bunker and found the nearly empty box of condoms in tim's little bathroom right next to his toothpaste).
bruce was the reason tim knew how to ride a cock, how he knew a cock in his pussy felt good and why his little hole ached to be full.
it was his fault. it was yet another thing that was bruce's fault. it was his fault that dick had become this...this type of man.
dick wants to hate him. despite him.
but aren't they the same now?
maybe that's why dick isn't as harsh on bruce when he returns. why he isn't as cold as the rest of the family, why he doesn't have a screaming match like jason does asking what the fuck was wrong with bruce.
because if bruce was fucked up then so was dick.
the two of them are two fucked individuals. two people swallowed up by batman and made more twisted for it. the father and the son made in his image.
when dick walks into bruce's room in the middle of the night to find tim naked and on top of bruce, sweet body grinding and whining as bruce's cock pumps in and out of him- dick can't find a single shred of him that is horrified.
the only emotion he feels is relief.
relief that he's no longer alone in the horror that is being himself.

wait i need ur ✨expertise✨— u know that old tiktok trend of telling ur significant other “oh i feel like you could have been nicer to me today”? how is bts reactingggg
congratulations you've activated jk's pout his brows are furrowed his eyes suddenly have a slight sheen to them he's apologizing without even knowing what he did wrong and then seriously questioning you about how he hurt your feelings
yoongi raises an eyebrow at you and asks what he did and when you repeat yourself saying "i just feel like you could've been nicer to me today" he shrugs and tells you that improvement is the biggest room in the world (he’s seen the videos he’s not buying it)
seokjin goes down an itemized list of every interaction you had today tryna figure out where exactly he went wrong half joking half in disbelief like he doesn’t think he’s done anything wrong but if he did he definitely wants to get that sorted immediately
hobi’s pulling you into a hug and then he pulls back and is like wait what? bc like he doesn’t remember being mean but then he goes back to hugging you bc it doesn’t matter everyday he should try to be nicer to you than the last
you probably don’t even wanna try this with joon fr like it’s gonna turn into a long and drawn out discussion where you end up baring your souls to each other and like reminisce on the past and plan for the future and figure out how exactly you can love each other better he’s gonna pull out scholarly references from books he’s read like do this with joon at your own risk
tae is another one that you may wanna think twice about doing this with bc i feel like he’s gonna pull a reverse uno and tell you every time you could’ve been nicer to him that day like don’t dish it if u can’t take it
jimin’s the type to get like slightly defensive at first and then realize he’s being defensive and then he’s having like some kind of epiphany he’s apologizing and then you’re in his arms before you know it and he’s reflecting on himself offloading some pent up emotions about what he’s been going through lately and you’re just kinda there like 🥸 bc it was just a joke nd u were unaware of his inner turmoil

☾ 1 step forward, 3 steps back // byun euijoo
genre : angst / wc : 715 / tw : asshole reader, not a happy ending lol, cursing / masterlist / song : olivia rodrigo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
♫ never doubted myself so much, like am I pretty or am I fun, girl? cuz it's always 1 step forward, and 3 steps back. do you love me? want me? hate me? girl, I don't understand. ♫
euijoo keeps his head low, leaving the practice room while on their break, he hears kei following him before he even speaks up. "hey, what's on your mind? is this about taki eating your ice cream in the fridge because if it is I already scolded him for that." euijoo lets out a breathy laugh before responding "no. it's not that, it's just y/n's been so distant recently. I feel like I'm not satisfying them and, it's making me dance sloppy and forget the dance. it's stressing me out, I don't know what I did wrong." he says, still keeping his head down. "hey," kei places his palm on euijoos shoulder, "it's okay. I'm sure they just had a bad day or something, maybe they're stressed too. I think you should be there for each other. you should talk to her so you can understand her better a she can understand you better." euijoo finally raises his head, "yeah. you're right, hyung. I'll go talk things out with her." he smiles.
♫ I kinda find it all exciting like, which lover will I get today? will you walk me to the door or send me home crying? ♫
"hi baby <3 can we talk? there's a cafe nearby, we can talk there!" he typed out.
ding !
"hi, yea sure. but make it quick, I have to go meet up with jay soon" read the words on his screen, his smile quickly fades upon seeing the name "jay".
"who's jay?" he asked, while walking to the cafe. "wow, so I can't have male friends anymore? get off my fucking back euijoo. stop being so fucking possessive, maybe if you stopped caring so much about who I'm with you'd actually improve your dances and be a better leader." tears form in his eyes in the middle of reading your message, he decides to stop before his tears spill out.
he arrives at the cafe and approaches your table. "hi. you were quick." he tries to lighten the mood, "can we get this over with? what did you wanna talk about?" you say, afraid of keeping jay waiting.
"w-well, I've been noticing that you haven't been the brightest recently and I just wanted to ask if there was anything I can do to make you feel better o-or if you wanna talk about it." euijoo says, concerned. "you really made me go here for this? you could've asked me this over text. I'm fine, euijoo."
"b-but-" you cut him off, "stop doing that, you keep stuttering. just get it out before I get out of here."
"I just thought we could talk about it.. you've been so distant recently and it's really effecting me. j-just please tell me what I-" he's cut off by his sobs, by this point other tables are whispering about the both of you, heads turned towards your direction. "please tell me what I did wrong, I'll change. I promise, I will. just tell me what it is.." euijoo sobs, while other people in the cafe start to feel bad for him, finally understanding what happened between you and him.
he reaches out his arms to hold your hand on the table, and you pull your hands away. "no, please.." he says, barely over a whisper while shaking his head. before he knew it, you stood up and left.
♫ it's one step forward and three steps back, I'm the love of your life until I make you mad ♫
euijoo walks back to the dorms with tears in his eyes, just hoping nobody sees him. once he enters the dorm, kei and nicholas see's him and immediately asks him what happened.
"I don't know, t-they were upset and- I just.. I don't know. they went to see someone named jay or something, whoever that is." he sniffs.
"oh euijoo.." nicholas says. "it's okay, euijoo." kei hugs him and is soon followed by nicholas
♫ no, it's back and forth, did I say something wrong? it's back and forth, going over everything I said. ♫

First thoughts from just one watch under shitty circumstances with bad internet and worse sound:
RAMBLING FRANK vs RUSSIA THOUGHTS
I was very worried about this episode with how sacred the S5 DENNIS System episode is to us all. Didn't want a Thunder Gun 4 situation on our hands and thankfully they avoided it so hard! I think having the plot with Charlie, Frank, the mums, Uncle Jack and chess really helped out to make it feel more than a direct sequel.
SINNED -> DENNIS -> SINNED -> DENNIS — I'm so impressed with this. How did I, a wholeass Sunny fan, miss this for so long?! Three cheers to whoever came up with that inversion, really! Definitely something that happened in the writer's room and made everyone lose their shit for sure. I wonder who it was, could be Meg or another writer too, given how collaborative they all are!
And can I just say, Dennis the Restaurant Manager... oh how I love you so much! The Waitress is Getting Married is a personal favourite of mine and I wasn't expecting a bit of a redux of that whole situation.
I was so worried about all the "Mac getting a boyfriend and it being Ryan Reynolds" theories and I absolutely wanted none of that. Everyone had speculated it to death and it wouldn't have been fun anymore (not to mention I do not care for RR in my Sunny, I'm sure he's fine, but I don't need his and Rob's PR relationship filtering through into my dickandball show no I don't "find them cute" and I won't elaborate here anymore).
I know we'd guessed that Johnny could've been Dennis catfishing Mac, but it definitely felt like we were doing an Insane Fan Speculation more than anything — and for it to turn out to be correct! And in the best way, because we never could've seen the vibrating anal beads coming!! That's the best kind of "called it but it's still unpredictable".
It really broke my mind, this episode did. And don't even get me started on the Macdennis and queer Dennis of it all! As a longtime believer in Bisexual Dennis, I won so hard! All of us Queer Dennis Truthers won so fucking hard!
[Unpopular Take incoming] This is the first Sunny episode credited to Meg for writing that has felt so wholly "Classic Sunny" and super fuckin hilarious to me. I always appreciated her understanding of the characters and she's always a very solid writer, but this is the first time where I felt myself thinking ok, you she write RCG/Hornsby/Marder-Rosell/Chernins-level of an insane chaotic Sunny episode with multiple belly laughs and not just slightly Community-fied versions of the gang.
The closest her writing has felt like true Sunny to me before this was Dee Day, so I'm glad to see her grow and improve too, and I wonder if the podcast rewatch has helped in that regard! Must also help to have a classic S5 structure to play off in The D.E.N.N.I.S. System! (And ofc writing is collaborative, so well done to RCG and all the writers who pitched ideas and rewrites that ended up shaping this episode!)
I knew Heath Cullens directing meant a good chance of some interesting camerawork (and I've gotta say that even The Gang Inflates had some more dynamic shots than we've been getting in some of the later years and it's got to be the Cullens directing), but I wasn't expecting a whole visual callback to Being Frank! Loved it.
And the editing! The DENNIS System has always been great for cutaway gags and fun little inserts, so I loved seeing that carried out here with the cuts to Mac and Dee fucking up their dates and then finally pulling out the Magic Tissue of Mummy Issues (oh the potential for meta especially with the twins!). The pacing was so good!
Sunny pacing needs to feel like Mac crashing Dee's car into a wall while we are all Charlie watching it in real time and screaming when it's over.
Random strings of words because I'm too excited to be coherent:
Glenn's acting. His faces. His eyes. His range in this episode. Glacting. Juilliard. All the hits. All the big ones.
Mac and Dennis have canonically had sex in two different ways now, and yes, I'm including their sex tape/porn viewing sessions where they both masturbate together
Did Dennis pull out Mac's anal beads when he was asleep?
Vibrating fucking anal beads what the ACTUAL FUCK!
How many people did the gang drug again?
Danny DeVito with a vibrating asshole comedy acting 12/10 he's an international treasure for a reason
Dee stealing people's phones she's so stupid and bad at men. Never change Dee.
Uncle Jack though, pls change plz, I'm an IASIP loving degenerate so I laughed in horror at his creepiness ofc as I have since 1x7 but fucking hell man, can he be in his jail era already! Poor Charlie!
Hey, Charlie's got new America's just as we were promised on the pod
Oh I should make a post about everything we saw in this episode and that episode of the pod where they gave us all those hints, especially Meg talking about struggling with this cold open — added to the never-ending list of drafts and posts that will hopefully one day make it onto the blog yeah I'm lying to myself now
Parental issues everywhere this season, especially with the mums. Reynolds kids, I can't wait to lovingly put you under my microscope. Once I've rewatched this episode with good sound.
Also just in general, the SINNED system just says SO much about our babygirl's psychology, does it not? Why did so much of it sound like self-insert speeches, like he's been doing this to Mac or smt? Don't even talk to me about The Gang Chokes!
What does r/iasip have to say about— no, I'm in my happy place, I'm not even gonna go there.
Mrs Mac and Mrs Kelly watching TV together like that, they really are lesbian life partners.
Dennis blue shirt with top-stick between those buttons, my beloved. I am looking, respectfully.
And can we talk about the "opening the ketchup bottle" scene? We have to take about that scene! Dennis... he's ruining me... need to gnaw on him and suck on his fingers wait I'm browning out...
Sidenote: I love whenever the show references news stories which were super fucking big at a very specific time in a very specific niche, especially with my whole family being so chess-obsessed. The cheating scandals and anal bead… never thought I'd see a Sunny crossover but can't say I'm not loving the shit out of it!

Hello! It's me again with another drabble! This is the first of five or six planned bonus chapters (?). For a slight change of pace, I wrote this one from Papyrus' POV as it seemed a bit more entertaining, but let me know if you liked this or not?
Timewise, this takes place a little over a month or two after the humans fell into the Underground, somewhere between Day 7: First Kiss and before Day 10: Dress Up.
First Day, Previous Day, & Bonus Two.
Bonus 1: Scarfs Part 2
Papyrus finished buckling the last strap, securing his chestplate to his person, before turning to the dresser to put on his gloves and scarf. He was rather proud of his armour, especially because it was unique, thanks to Sans helping him model it after a character from a comic book. Over the years, he'd had to improve it or do repairs whenever someone got a lucky hit on him, however, certain elements had always remained the same like the colour scheme and his favorite red scarf.
Speaking of which, his scarf was missing. He knew he had it yesterday after getting home from work, and after changing out of his armour, he'd put it on the dresser with his gloves like he always did. Had he misplaced it?
As unlikely as this was, he couldn't rule out the possibility all together, despite how meticulously organized he always was. He was of the belief that everything had its place and that was where it should be.
He started looking around just in case. He did remember being rather tired last night so maybe he'd just slipped up? He frowned and shook his head. As if... He didn't mess things up, he was the Great and Terrible Papyrus!
His scarf wasn't in the washing machine or dryer. It didn't seem to be anywhere in his room or in the bathroom either. It didn't make sense to be downstairs, but it was the only other place he could've left it.
Had someone stolen his scarf?
Sans would often try to pull pranks to mess with him, but he should know better than steal his favorite scarf. Usually his pranks were more obnoxious or messy though. Like there would be a ransom note demanding some stupid fee in exchange for seeing his scarf in one piece again or something.
He wouldn't put it past Frisk to take something without asking as they were a child. They may not know better or may not realize this was a big deal to him. Still, they were a smart kid and seemed to have a decent sense of social cues, plus, you were very proactive in taking care of them. There was no way you wouldn't notice if they'd stolen it.
That left you as the only remaining possible culprit. Unlike the other two, you had a more believable motive. He remembered that you really liked how soft his scarf was and had even called his armour cool. Still, you were also smart, as evidenced by how quickly you'd managed to convince him and his brother to spare you and Frisk. He liked to think you were smart enough to know stealing from anyone, let alone him, was a pretty bad idea though.
He found you and Frisk where he expected you'd be - in the living room. Frisk was playing with Doomfanger by teasing her with one of those feather wands he'd bought her. The cat was absolutely fascinated and he couldn't help but smile at how cute they both were.
You were huddled up on the couch with a blanket and a book. Normally that wasn't suspicious, however, you were practically cocooned in the blanket like you were freezing cold, despite the temperature in the house being rather warm. You also hadn't acknowledged him like you usually did whenever he entered the same room. He hadn't exactly been trying to be quiet either.
He narrowed his eye sockets suspiciously and stalked up behind you. He was an expert at moving silently when he wanted and despite how much you hated it, he found it quite funny to sneak up and startle you. Maybe it was slightly cruel, but he really liked how you sometimes jumped from the shock and how your surprise would morph into anger. You were especially cute when annoyed at him and he really couldn't help teasing you about it.
That was his intention this time as well and he was just about to hug you, when he spotted the reason you were this huddled up in the first place. Hidden underneath the blanket was his red scarf, although it was mostly covered save for a gap where the blanket had bunched weirdly by your neck.
"Oh You Did Not..."
You let out a cute little gasp when he wrapped his arms around your shoulders, crossing over your chest and gripping your upper arms firmly. He was careful not to dig his claws into your skin too much but it was a bit tricky as he hadn't put his gloves on yet.
"Thought You Were So Sneaky, Huh, Precious?" he whispered in your ear.
He could see how quickly the realization that he knew what you'd done dawned on you. It was slightly cathartic to watch your eyes widen and your cheeks turn pink with embarrassment. He wasn't content leaving this here though, no, he was going to take this even further.
"Yeah..." you murmured. "I'm sorry for taking it, but I really like your scarf." Glancing up at him over your shoulder, you asked, "Any chance I could borrow it for longer...?"
He didn't miss the way your blush deepened slightly and he couldn't help the smirk that now graced his skull.
"I Do Not Take Kindly To People Stealing From Me..."
He could hear your heartrate steadily increasing the longer he kept you trapped like this. It was a bit strange that you hadn't even tried to get away, even if you were completely trapped, he had expected you would at least try.
You struggled to speak for a moment, opening and closing your mouth as you tried to say anything at all. "...I didn't actually steal your scarf..." you finally muttered. Although it was apparent that you knew how weak of an excuse this was when you couldn't make eye contact with him.
He hummed softly and shook his head. "Then, What Do You Call This? Because 'Temporarily Borrowing Without Asking' Is The Same Thing At The End Of The Day..." He loved the shocked look you gave him when he said that. It seems he'd taken your next excuse right out of your mouth.
You squirmed a little bit but predictably, couldn't get out of his grip, even if you weren't currently tangled up in the blanket on top of everything. "Look, you can have it back if you care that much..." you grumbled.
He clicked his tongue at how quickly your tone had gone from embarrassed to annoyed. That wouldn't do... You were the one in the wrong here and it seemed he would have to subtly remind you of that fact.
"Oh I Care A Lot, Precious~" he purred. "There Are Consequences For People Who Cross Me...And I Happen To Be Quite Creative When It Comes To Punishments..." He could hear your heart skip a beat at that.
"Oh This Was Turning Out Deliciously."
You glanced at where Frisk was still playing with Doomfanger, they didn't seem to have noticed the exchange somewhat surprisingly, but he tilted your head back to look at him again. You seemed worried about something but not actually scared, thankfully.
"Tell You What," he whispered. "I Know A Way To Make This All Go Away..." He could see the curiousity flicker in your eyes and couldn't seem to wipe the smirk off of his face.
"You do?" you asked softly.
He nodded in an admittedly smarmy kind of way. Moving his hand from your chin, he cupped your cheek and leaned closer to your face. He paused for a moment and when you gave him a slight nod, pressed a slow but gentle kiss to your lips.
He was fully aware that his sharp teeth could seriously hurt you if he wasn't careful. Still, this wasn't a new issue, although some of his previous lovers had actually preferred if he was rough, you were much softer than anyone else. The last thing he wanted was to hurt you afterall...
Your skin was absolutely addicting to touch, even if he'd only had limited contact so far. You were squishy and yet there was a certain firmness at the same time. You'd explained that you had a whole skeleton that held everything together which was more than a little mind blowing for him.
When he finally pulled away from the kiss, he took an unbridled amount of satisfaction in seeing how flushed and out of breath you were. It just gave him a small thrill whenever he could see the effect he had on you.
"Positively Adorable..."
He finally let go of your shoulders and drew back slightly, but not before whispering one more thing. "Could I Have My Scarf Back Before I Have To Leave For Work, Precious?"
You were apparently stunned speechless and could only nod in response. There was a hint of a frown on your face though, but he wasn't about to leave the house without an important part of his uniform. Not even if you begged him...
Probably not anyways.

I'm with the people who say that they definitely don't want a second season of the Ever After as-is and I literally was one of the people going "I'll be happy if they're out of this fairy tale land in two episodes" buuuut with that being said, I can't help but feel like almost everything that's been happening so far would be way better if a lot more time could be spent on it instead of rushing through every plot point even faster it feels like than we did with volume 8.
Like, the girls falling, finding each other, actually talking about what happened on screen and with Ruby not passed out, the auction that takes like five minutes in canon, the chess game, them getting confronted with questions about what they are (which needed to be way better and different anyway,) the attack on the market which they barely seemed to try to fight (seriously they had a harder time fighting the Nevermore in the like fourth ep than they had with the enlarged Jabberwalker,) seeing Jaune for the first time, the punderstorm where only Blake and Yang were forced to work through a problem... I feel like all of these things could've been improved if they'd been given more room to breathe and were treated more seriously as opportunities for all the rwby girls to grow.
But specifically since it's the ep that just came out, I'm thinking about the Paper Pleaser town.
Thinking about how the girls showed like no interest in helping the town and instantly dismissed Jaune as unhinged and unreliable and instantly were just like 'oh guess these little paper stars trying to destroy themselves is fine because Ascension was described as a good thing here,' and then instantly it was revealed to Jaune that they didn't think he was reliable (I will point out, I could be wrong since I only watched the ep once, but Ruby seemed pretty not involved in any of that conversation so it feels less 'the girls did all that' and more like 'wby did all that,' but that's just a side note.) And I don't know, I just feel like this would be way better if we got to see Ruby at least acting kind of relieved to leave the work of finding a way out to Jaune while she throws herself into trying to follow the clearly laid out schedule and WBY are kind of being unhelpful (like they have been almost all season,) and Ruby starts acting a bit more frustrated with them, but maybe starts rethinking the things the Cat said and realizing that the Paper Pleasers are acting unhappy which WBY are realizing too, and they could also be noticing that despite Jaune going out every day looking for a solution, he isn't finding one and while one of the girls (Yang or Blake maybe) could start worrying a bit about how Jaune is doing and trying to reach out to him, one of the other girls (Weiss or Blake maybe) could start kind of pushing Ruby about time running out and how they need to find a solution and one of the other girls (Weiss or Yang maybe) could start actually doubting Jaune and getting a bit suspicious and all four of them could hear the Paper Pleasers take on Ascension. And honestly the Cat could show up again and talk to Ruby and she could get 'answers' out of it concerning ascension and more details about Alyx but still not be sure who to trust and grapple with the emotions of never knowing who to trust anymore and how her friends rely on her and tbh maybe she goes to tell her team about talking to the Cat but they react badly so she keeps it to herself (hello Oz parallels.) Then Jaune could overhear the girls talking about whether or not he's right about ascension or if Ruby should be the one actually looking for a way out because he doesn't seem to be doing much, and then that could actually turn into a real conversation where it's put on Ruby again to find a solution and fix things and talk to Jaune and find a way out and should they try and find the Cat again and what does Ruby think about Alyx and Lewis and how much should they be taking the book into account - but before Ruby can do much more than say 'I don't know' Neo's Jabberwalkers show up.
It could be so much better if we had time to actually TRY and figure things out. If we got more information about Ascension - what happened to the Caterpillar, if the Red King got worse what does that mean, how does the Ever After even work - then it wouldn't feel as questionable or confusing when the Afterans all destroy themselves in their effort to ascend. If the girls (Ruby particularly) did let Jaune try to find a way out for a bit before starting to question his reliability, they wouldn't look like jackwagons who don't want to do tasks they consider menial (WBY particularly.) If the girls had gotten to know the Paper Pleasers a bit more, they'd feel more justified in accepting their words over Jaune's (even though he does seem biased to me.) If at least one of them had tried to reach out to Jaune about his mental health, they'd feel a little less judgmental. If Ruby had tried to find answers and listen to different perspectives, it'd feel like good solid growth to me of her not just accepting anyone's words at random, but instead struggling because she doesn't know what the truth is. If Ruby was given good reason to think that Ascension was better than Jaune makes it out to be it'd make more sense and be less dismissive of her to take a jab at his 'mourning' (though don't get me wrong it'd still be harsh heroes can be flawed.) If Ruby had been shown to be relieved to hand the reins of leadership and responsibility over to someone else only to have her team continue to act like she has to make every choice and must come up with every solution, it would feel a bit more reasonable when she says her 'why are you asking me' piece (although I'll say that I think it would've been better if instead of saying 'why do I have to be the leader' she said 'we're supposed to be a team' because imo Ruby hasn't exactly been open to others outside RWBYJNOR leading and has made a lot of choices that put her where she is but her team has been 100% over-relying on her in very unfair ways.)
Idk, I just feel like some of this stuff needs more time, it can't all be one thing after another all the time in your face. There could be so much more depth to this show if they gave things the proper amount of focus and let their audience sit with things. Idk, maybe they know that the majority of their fandom myself included will just write metas and fanfics that do all that for them so they don't have to actually do more than Thor Ragnarok in terms of depth and emotion.

idk there's just something about the way ayan continously pushes akk. he's relentless in it, and yet never goes too far and it's so so interesting to watch because it would be so easy for him to become unlikeable for being too pushy and yet he is one of the kindest, most understanding characters i've literally ever seen
like. in every single episode he challenges something akk is convinced off, pushes him into one direction or the other, brings him to his limits and makes him question things but it's never over the top? it's never too much, it's never ill-intended even if he honestly had ample opportunity and somtimes even reason to go 'too far' because, well. akk took some things too far even if we (and aye) can understand why
aye is just constantly trying to get akk to do the right thing, to see the truth and to acknowledge what's wrong because he knows that ultimately it'll lead to akk being happier, being true to himself. it's not a matter of aye being preachy and pushy and just doing it because he thinks he's right, it's a matter of him caring and wanting to help and genuinely just wanting whats best for people. he could've so easily gotten akk expelled right when he came to suppalo and instead he chose to try and make him see what is wrong with the system because i think, even if he didn't like akk at first, aye understands that he's only partially responsible for the way he acts and that understanding just gets deepened the closer they get
once he actually starts liking akk, caring about him, wanting to see him happy and wanting him it feels like aye really shifts from pushing akk into the right direction just because he can, to pushing him because he wants akk to understand and to see and to be less burdened the only time he brings akk to a breaking point he's already there to catch the pieces and hold him and make sure that he's okay. he doesn't let akk fall apart alone in the privacy of his room because he knows that he's the one who brought him there even if it was inevitable for akk to crumble under the pressure eventually
and now, with both of their feelings more or less openly on the table (even if akk can't admit it yet, they both know what's there) he continues to push and prod. he wants akk to say it out loud and acknowledge it, wants him to accept it by putting it out in the world, not for some selfish reason but because he can see the pain akk is in, the way he suffers under the strain of keeping everything inside. and he lets akk know that he'll be there, still
aye's gotten to glimpse into akk, got to hold him and be held in return, tell him how he feels and see the truths that akk can't say in his eyes. he's seen the way akk fought his own tears back when he confessed, and felt akk's thumbs move on his jaw as the only show of affection he allowed himself, and he's going to keep pushing. he knows that akk can get to a breaking point that'll turn things around, and he knows that akk likely won't get there alone, and he knows that akk needs someone to catch him when he allows himself to fall
idk if any of this made sense but i just. i love ayan so dearly, he's so careful and considerate in so many things and yet never ready to back down and accept things if he knows they can be improved. he truly just wants whats best for akk and he can see what it is better than akk himself, so he's trying to get him there with as much gentle force as needed. he's so loving and kind and so so ready to give his love to akk, if only he would accept it
